Mikey announces a big special thing will happen to him at 5pm during the Mikeython. Lebron James gets a thorough booing during his return to Cleveland. Who are the top celebrities to have come to your Christmas party? Lars Ulrich takes Mikey on a tour of his mansion and visits rooms he’s never been in for years! Woods continues to not give a certain Eagles quarterback a break which irritates LOB and Mike. Jake grosses Mikey out with his choice of candy. Leave it to Larry King to leave us in stitches interviewing Mike Tyson. Sienna recaps her friend whose father needs to be asked for permission to marry his daughter and this leads to a role play with Mike and Woods. Jay creeps on a bride to be who calls in and another caller tells a bitter dad story. Movie Plot hot potato runs out of movies and Woods needs shooting lessons with the BB gun. This of course spawns a wheezing Captain Buzzkill to call upset with the BB gun and draws fake laughs out of LOB while bashing the Mikeython. Sienna is out on Twitter and Facebook causes divorces. The gang remembers the names of their ex’s that may or may not haunt them in cyberspace. LOB’s aunt Diane calls in urging her to party down. An email about wanting to stay at a hotel rather than with family at Christmas draws a huge debate with Jay the most adamantly against the hotel idea. Darn those thin walls at the Isbell residence! Senor Beans says he has Christmas plans with his new bitch. Would you rather stay overnight with a serial killer of spend 3 days in the desert without provisions? Keep your Gore away from The Kid. A fascinating interview with two secret service agents working the JFK assassination is next. Mikey asks about what it’s like to work for the secret service as Clint Hill breaks 47 years of silence. Clint gives a stunning play-by-play description of the motorcade and gunshots that is not for the squeamish. Mr. Hill goes on to tell about the aftermath and flying the President’s body back to Washington with Jackie Kennedy. This is great radio if you missed it, very powerful and educating, not the type of stuff you hear or read every day.

Mikey kicked off the show by hyping the upcoming Mikey‑thon and teasing a surprise car giveaway (P2), while Woods and the crew reacted to LeBron James’ painful return to Cleveland (P4). Later, Woods riffed on a doctor’s nickname “Dr. McNuggets” (P8) and the show highlighted a $4,500 reward for a mutilated puppy (P15). The program also featured a listener’s tale about asking a future father‑in‑law’s blessing before proposing (P32), a bizarre TJ Maxx shoplifting method involving fat rolls (P59), a lively “would you rather” debate about facing a killer versus the desert (P86), and culminated with Clint Hill and Jerry Blaine’s first‑in‑47‑years interview about the Kennedy assassination (P98).

Hello, everybody. It's the Mikey Show with a live big crowd this morning. I like that. Hello. M1 Nubian Prince is in the house today. And Matt Commerce is probably on his way down here as we speak. That's right. In his car. Lauren's boyfriend. Lauren's boyfriend, Matt Commerce. BFMC. Yeah. I'd like to wish my wife a happy birthday. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. That's right. We'll call her and say hi. Let me introduce everybody on the show. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the program. Woodsy is our sports guy. He's 35. I'm 40. Sorry if I didn't mention that. I want you to know that I'm 40 so that if you're listening and you're wanting to be able to relate to the different people on the program and you want to know how old we are, I'm 40. Woods is 35. L-O-B, otherwise known as Lauren O'Brien, is 30 years old. Oh, gosh! That doesn't sound right. She's not used to it yet. I don't think any of us are.
Our girl, Sienna, is 25. When's your birthday, Sienna? April 3rd. There you go. She's 25. She's our news girl. And Jay is our producer, and he's 47. And our phone screener's name is Chris. And you're 21. 22. Shocking. Never been kissed. Never been kissed. So sweet. He's looking around like, yes, I have, guys. Yes, I have. Come on. I went to second base once. You can call us, 570-1949. You can text us, 949mikey at gmail.com. When we open the show, we open the show to M1 Nation, which is you, the listening audience. And M1 is somebody that turns their radio down. gets to the point, and does not cuss when they call in. And M1 is also a rabid fan of the Mikey Show. You're probably a part of our Facebook fan page, facebook.com slash Mikey Show. You probably regularly visit MikeyShow.com or M1Site.com. By the way, if you go to MikeyShow.com,
It is 12 days, 23 hours, and 55 minutes until Mikey-thon. I'm so nervous. Mikey-thon is our 28-hour marathon broadcast where we go on the air for 28 straight, and it's all to raise money for Rady Children's Hospital. And we're doing things on that show that we've never even come close to doing during a regular show, so don't think it's like a longer version of a regular show. It's crazy. It's going to be insane. It's going to be really insane. It's crazy. By the way, during the Mikey-thon, I have a surprise on Thursday. You know, it's Thursday and Friday, the 16th and 17th of December. And I have a surprise on Thursday at 5 o'clock that not even the members of the Mikey show know about. Why am I so scared? I'm scared. Don't be scared because it doesn't involve...
any sort of embarrassment for you guys. That's new. It doesn't involve you guys being uncomfortable in any way whatsoever. In fact, it's a gift to you guys. You will... A new car. It's a new car. It's going to be Mikey Oprah version. I'm humiliating myself. Oh, in. For you guys. She'll be stoked. And for M1s. So that's at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. 5 o'clock in the afternoon, 5 p.m. We've got a bunch. We have so much cool stuff. I'm so excited. Ready to rock for this thing. I'm really nervous about it. It's 28 hours long. It's a long time to stay up. And broadcast. When I saw the list of stuff we had, I was like, oh, I can't wait. Oh, yeah. It's going to be so fun. It'll be loopy. And listeners are invited to come down to the radio station and join us. We have a special area that we're going to sort of cordon off for you so you can hang out and be a part of it because it's going to be a huge thing. Word of the day today is Candy Cane, and it's good for a pair of tickets to see Lincoln Park on February 20th, and we'll give you a Mikey show.
So when you hear me say the word candy cane and work that into a sentence between now and 10, then you will win. This morning at 9, we have in studio with us two former Secret Service agents that were on the presidential detail the day that President Kennedy was assassinated. How crazy is that? Really, really crazy. One of them has never spoken publicly before. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. That's awesome. It's going to be pretty cool. How about that LeBron James? Oh, man. Brutal. Went back to Cleveland last night for the first time, and he got a bit of a sour response. Yes. Oh, man. As you can imagine from the crowd. From St. Vincent St. Mary High School, number six, LeBron James. That's 40,000 in unison right there. Yeah. And they said that it had like a playoff atmosphere. Uh-huh. Yeah. The atmosphere of it was as if they were playing in the playoffs. Yeah. A lot of, I mean, local celebrities as far as local celebrities in Cleveland, you know. But, you know, a lot of the Browns were there. The Bengals were there. T.O. was there. I bet. T.O. boo. Probably not. You know, that's a big fraternity. They all stick together.
LeBron said that he did not sleep the night before. He was just so anxious about it. Then his routine is to take a nap on game day. And basically all he did was just toss and turn. Oh my gosh. Because he was so worked up about it. And for good reason. They treated him like a leper. Yes, they hated that guy. I bet the security was just ridiculous. He was talking about the fans afterwards. That's all right. I understand how passionate fans are. Still got a lot of love for these fans here. But, you know, I'm a Miami Heat player now. We're looking to get this win. They say every time he touched the ball, the audience would move. Wow. Every time you got the ball. Oh, my God. You ever just act like a bunch of babies? That's tough. 40,000 babies? Like, come on. Hey, man, they're hurt. They're hurt, sad, and fearful is what they are. Yeah. Hurt. What's the deal? I mean, the guy was allowed to go. Yeah, you are. You are. But, man, the guy grew up there. He's from there. I mean, he started there. He gave it a whirl.
Yeah. It's tough. It is hard when you love a team so much and you see one of your players go somewhere else. It's really, really tough. Yeah. It's really tough. Red Sox fans are used to that. Oh, wow. That's spoken like a true Yankee fan. It's true. The next time he will be back in Cleveland, March. It's going to be a little bit of a wait. Here's the deal, too. The guy went out and played his butt off last night, too, and threw up 38 points. Oh, wow. And fully dominated. And the Heat won the game. So, you know, nothing tastes better than going in there and getting a win and playing really well, being the top scorer. He slept great last night. Oh, yeah. I slept like a baby last night. I wonder if he still has a house there, if he stayed in the hotel. I heard he has a house in Akron, actually. Why? And they were chanting, Akron hates you. Oh, my gosh. Babies. Oh, my gosh. Get over it. Wow. Real hurt when LeBron left. He was their MJ. He was their Michael Jordan. He was the savior, the guy. And when the savior leaves the team, you're like, oh.
Great. What do we do now? They called him the king. The king. And last night, the popular thing in the crowd was for people to be wearing T-shirts that were a mock-up of the Lion King, only it said the lying king. The person that came up with that was like, I'm a millionaire. I'm a millionaire. Got it. Out of all of the hospitals in the United States, One here in San Diego was named in the top 65. Yes, and that hospital is Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center, which is in the Grantville section of San Diego. You know what the Grantville section is, by the way? No idea. It's like three blocks along. It's more than that. It's basically the area in Mission Valley on Mission Gorge where... The San Diego Brewing Company is. And it's that little community right in there. Gaglione Brothers over there? Right there. Right there. Now, here's what they were looking at. Kaiser Permanente made the list because of computerization of doctor orders to prevent medication errors, policies to prevent medical errors, standards for high-risk procedures like heart surgeries, and great staffing of physicians and nurses. Yeah. So they have, you know, that's awesome. The doctor.
that worked on my dad, you know, because my dad went there for surgery for kidney stones. And the doctor was young, and he reminded me of somebody from Grey's Anatomy, and he was really nice. Good looking. And he was good looking. He looked like a Grey's Anatomy guy. One of the Mick guys. Yeah. Steamy, McTreamy. Mick Kaiser. McPP, Mick. Yeah. Do-do. McDo-do. McCaca. No, none of them have that name. Real jealous, Woods. 100%. My favorite is McNuggets. Clearly. McNuggets. McNuggets is really great. He's so fantastic. That's funny because he's fat. That's right. Dr. McNuggets. He's really good. That would be... That's a great character. Dr. McNuggets. Dr. McNuggets. Do you guys see what they're serving in the cafeteria? That's right. Dr. McNuggets. I give you... Dr. McNuggets. There he is. Unbelievable. Actually, it should be my nickname. I eat there four days a week. You don't think that nickname will stick, do you? Hey, Dr. McNugget. Morning, Doc. Good to see you, pal. Let's see. The top celebrities wanted at your Christmas party. What does that even mean? Well, there was a survey by HomeGoods, and they looked at a few things. One of the things was, what celebrity would you want at your Christmas party? Steve Woods.
Yeah. Celebrity. Oh. Celebrity. The situation. I'm like an F-level celebrity. Not the situation, thank goodness. Any other guesses? Christmas party. Gaga. Kanye. Gaga. Taylor Swift. You may be surprised by it. Are these actors or singers or what? Taylor Swift. Comedian slash Ellen. TV host. Ellen. I got it. Oh, yeah. That'd be great. Will Ferrell. I just said it's Ellen. That's it. There's only one? Mike's throat. Kanye West. Elton John. Billy Joel. People want one person? That's it? No, that was who won. And then they gave some other categories, too. Like, who would you want to go on vacation with? Is there one person? Yeah, one person. Will Ferrell. It's like the superlatives. It's not a list. It's just who would you want there. Oh, got it, got it, got it, got it. And then, so Ellen is at the Christmas party. Yeah. Yeah, that'd be great. She'd be dancing. She'd be hysterical. She'd be laughing. She's funny. She'd be kissing other girls. 100%. It's like the full package. Who would you want to go on the occasion one? George Clooney. What? Of course. Who would you want to decorate your Christmas tree?
Ellen. I don't know. Clay Aiken. You hate this list. He hates this story so much. Because he kept guessing. I'm sorry. I'm just trying to understand. Snoopy? I don't know. Michelle Obama. If I had said Michelle Obama, she had to be like, you idiot. You idiot. No, I wouldn't. You're so dumb. I don't know. Michelle Obama makes sense to me. It does? Why? Because she's very elegant, and she's the first lady, and it would probably be a beautiful Christmas tree. What do I know? She's got people to do that for her. You think she's getting the balls out, wiping them clean, hanging along the tree? Wow, we're talking about decorating trees. That's true. Never mind. Sick, sick, sick. What else? I would say Martha Stewart. Yes, Martha Stewart. That makes sense to me. I mean, it's so weird. It's like Derek Jeter to do your Christmas tree. I know. It doesn't make any sense to me. Because he's tall. He put the star on. Right. What celebrity's house would you like to spend your vacation at? Oh. I agree. There's two people here. Snoop Dogg. We can't. There is no way to guess. Richard Dreyfuss. I just needed to know. Richard Dreyfuss. Oprah's Santa Barbara Estate, number one. And then Brangelina's French Chateau. Yes.
No. Sold. Yeah, I would like the French Chateau. Well, the thing that's funny about it is that we don't really know anything about Angelina's French Chateau. Well, when the babies were born, the twins, that's where they went and hid for a while. So paparazzi were everywhere. So we've seen pictures of it, and it's amazing. So, I mean, who doesn't want to stay there? Do you guys remember? I'm going to sound dumb. What? Do you guys remember when Oprah went to? Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes place in Aspen. Oh, yeah. Do you remember that? Yeah, it was on TV. I mean, and they don't even live there. They just go there sometimes. It's their, they own it. Yeah. But it's just. And they go there. And it was. It was so nice. It was nuts. Oprah Winifrey! Yeah. What's it like to have that kind of dough, man? Just have badass mansions. Oh, you should lay it on a helicopter right outside their house. It's awesome. I'll bet you it's weird. Yeah. Is it? Well, I mean, I bet it's kind of weird. I mean, when you first do it, it's got to be weird. Then it's got to be real comfortable, but... I would be scared being in such a big place. I always would. The thing that would creep me out and I'd have paranoia for weeks or years about would be somebody stealing my money.
My accountants. I can't trust my accountants. I can't trust them. They're pilfering money for me. Really? I would be the guy with $50 million that would have it. I'd be like, I need to see the book, the bank book. Let me see it right now. I would be that guy. Really? I'm paranoid that they're siphoning money from me. They could pinch little bits out and how would you know, really? You have so much money. You read all the time. These guys, you know, Dane Cook got money stolen by his brother or something. His brother-in-law. And you're like, come on, man. The time that I went to Lars Ulrich's house, it was 13,000 square feet. This house was 13,000 square feet. I was going to interview him during the time that I was there. So he said, let's go down to the basement because I have one of my studios. And I said, all right. So we go down there and we open up the studio. And it's a very small studio, about half the size of the room we're in. So I'd say it's probably about 10 feet by 10 feet. And he's got a little mixing board in there. And he goes. Oh, this is crazy, man. I haven't been in this room for like three years. Oh, my gosh. Insane. He hadn't been in there. That's insane. For years. Wow. I mean, it's just crazy to me that you've got a room in your house. You haven't been to it for years. And he had a racquetball court in his house. Downstairs. So cool. Downstairs. He's so rad. But they didn't use it for racquetball.
It was their kids' playroom. So there was toys and stuff. That's awesome. Everywhere. I have a friend who has one of those houses that's just ridiculous. Crazy. Ridiculous. Crazy. I mean, listen, I could think of ways to fill up the space. 100%. You know what I mean? So cool. Just have cooking supplies everywhere. Everywhere. I'd have a cooking supply room. Cologne room. Cologne room. You'd have a... A what? Tortilla factory. Imagine fresh tortillas every morning. He knows what it's like. He does. He knows exactly what it's like. We can imagine it. He doesn't have to. For me, it's called breakfast. It's called my life. You know the house in Escondido where they found the bombs, where the dude had a bunch of bomb supplies? Yep. So I guess they're planning on doing something to that? Well, we know that they're going to burn it down, but now they're saying that if weather cooperates, they're going to burn this place down on Wednesday. Now, neighbors obviously are really nervous because this is a house with explosives in it, and they're going to burn down. That doesn't make any sense to me. It's so crazy. I don't get that. I'll explain. I have some stuff. Yeah, I'll explain. The reason that they're going to do that is because they can't go in there and do a thorough search of the house and go,
We're good. And have dog sniffing dogs sniff around and be like, yeah, we're good. And then let the house be sold to somebody. And the creep that lived there before was some mad genius that figured out a way to put them somewhere where nobody would find them and then detonate them. Yeah. That's why they're doing it because they want to make sure. That's why they blow bombs up. That's why if they think that there's a bomb located in something, they blow it up so they're sure it's gone. Same concept. They just want to make sure that anything that's explosive is gone. Yep. That's exactly what they're saying. Yeah. So they're saying neighbors, very scared, and they're building a wall. Yesterday, crews started clearing brush from around the house. They're making a protective wall, 16 feet high, 75 feet long, to protect the neighbor's property, just in case something does go wrong. Sure. And before the fire is ignited, the wall is going to be sprayed with this, like, protective gel that helps keep flames, heat, and embers from reaching the home. Wow. I mean, just crazy stuff. Must be. Fire crews are there preparing for everything.
You know, it's Christmas time. You're just trying to enjoy the holidays, put up some Christmas lights and stuff, and they're building a wall next door so they could burn the house down. You could roast your chestnuts on the house. You could. You really could. What a beating. Oh, day. 570-1949 is the number. If you want to give us a call. There's a $4,500. Well, it's been raised to $4,500 now for a reward for anybody that can help to find the person that attacked that little puppy. Oh, monster. They've now raised it. I know. The puppy. About a week ago, this little dog, puppy, if you haven't heard, was found in the dumpster outside the Target in Mission Valley. A woman found her immediately rushed the puppy to the veterinary hospital. Its ears had been cut off. It was covered in like an oily substance. The puppy is doing great now. The people at the hospital named him Sonny. He has a foster home. His ears work. Everything's fine. It's great. But they want to find this monster who did this. So if you have any idea, $4,500 reward right now. Weren't the eagles in town that weekend?
Woods? No. Were they not? I think they were here. He played last night. He played great as usual. All this guy needs to do is just say sorry, right? Yeah, then he's fine. Then he's fine. He just says he's sorry. Didn't mean to cut the dog's ears off. Just apologize. Forget it. Monster. Take the belt of that guy really good. No, he should go to jail and do time. Yeah. Repent? He should have to pay his punishment. They should give him $5 million when he gets out. What skill does this guy have? What would he have? What would he bring to the table? I don't know. I don't know who he is. But if he did, by all means, let him out. Gosh, he deserves to go play football in the NFL. You're saying that Michael doesn't deserve? Yes, I am. It is time. We can never agree on this. We never will. You know how strongly we feel about this. I have five dogs sitting at home. Do you think I'm going to be like, you're right. It's okay. It's not okay. It'll never be okay. It's fine. I forgive him. It isn't okay what he did. No. It isn't okay what he did, but he did his time. And now he goes and speaks to kids about what he did and how stupid it was. Court ordered. No, it's not court ordered. It isn't court ordered. Wouldsy?
That's why I think it's kind of cool. What's this giving Mike to look like? Really? Come on, man. I was the biggest dirtbag in the world, and I changed. Not as big a dirtbag as that. You got to believe in reform. You didn't kill dogs. I didn't kill dogs, but, you know, we all got our junk. We all got our junk. Hey, Mike Tyson and Larry King. Now that is peanut butter and jelly. That would be a fun reality show. Tyson went on Larry King last night, and Larry being Larry asked about something that made me uncomfortable. And you're going to hear it. Sienna, you put something in your recap I want to talk about, too. That's very interesting. I want to take on people here. We can take from people that want to call us at 570-1949. It has to do with getting a father's permission when you're getting married. It has to do with that. EFMC. Make some noise in here. Mike Tyson went on Larry King, and we have that coming up here in just a minute. What kind of stuff they talk about. That's quite an odd couple.
Sienna, what's going on in the news? Well, we've all heard about the California high-speed rail system that may be coming in to take us from L.A. to San Francisco in two hours and 27 minutes. Well, they've now decided that if it does begin, it's going to be kicking off in the... Central Valley. Yeah. So they're saying that's where they're going to be building this station. It's probably the best place because there's a lot of area out there that's just very desolate. Yes. And also NASA funded researchers announced yesterday that they've discovered a bacterium in a California lake, which is filled with a lot of minerals. And they said that this bacterium will redefine life as we know it. The discovery means that. They're saying in search for life on other planets, now they don't need to look for planets with the same balance of elements as we have on Earth. Right, because they found it in a lake in California. Yeah. So I don't know. I'm not a scientist. Just letting you know. Greetings. Greetings, Mike. What's going on in sports, Woods? Well, the internet was abuzz this week with rumors that this L.A. entrepreneur, his name is Phil Anschultz, is poised to purchase a 35% stake in the San Diego Chargers.
Come on. And if that happens, he's also teamed up. He's from L.A.? Yeah, he's from L.A. He's also teamed up with Magic Johnson, who said on Kimmel the other night they're bringing football back to L.A. If they bring the Chargers. Oh, dude. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Mark Fabiani, special counsel for the Chargers, said in a statement. Quote, there is no truth to the rumor out of Toronto that the Chargers have agreed to sell a portion of the team to Mr. Anschutz. Actually is his name, not Anschutz. And if you need another reason to care less about the World Cup, I'm going to give you two. Okay. In 2018, the World Cup was awarded to Russia. And in 2022, it was awarded to the Persian Gulf nation of Qatar. Must miss. Lauren's boyfriend, Matt Commerce, plays the guitar. I play the guitar. Acoustic guitar. There's electric guitar. It doesn't matter where the games are played as long as they are played. That's right. Really? As long as the game is guitar hero, I don't care. So everybody will be stoked about getting up again at 3 a.m. to watch the U.S. play and lose to Algeria or whoever. For sure. I call it a DVR. I'm counting the days until 2000.
And 22. Me too. A lot of days to count there. I saw the grossest candy I've ever seen yesterday. My son came home with a chocolate candy cane. Ew. You ever seen that? Ew, ew, ew. Chocolate coated candy cane on it. It was peppermint. But it's delicious. No. So it was a swirly, peppermint, and chocolate. Like real chocolate or just a chocolate flavored candy cane chocolate? Flavored candy cane chocolate. Yeah, those are the worst. Even the round mints like that that are green and black or brown. That's filthy. I know I like peppermint ice cream with chocolate sauce. That's good. I had the best candy yesterday. It was a pretzel covered in peppermint. Broken up peppermint? It was so disgusting. Yeah, I saw those. I'm bringing them in. Peppermint and mint, it's very delicate surgery we're talking about here. Don't mess with it too much. With peppermint, because it tastes like mouthwash and because it tastes like gum and because it tastes like toothpaste.
Be very, very careful with mint and peppermint. Haven't you had those green mints that, like, there's a circle, and they're green and brown swirly they have at a restaurant? I hate those. I don't like those either, but that's mint with chocolate. They're good on brownies. Peppermint, crushed up peppermint. They are. We do that with cakes. Wait, crushed up peppermint? You would love it. Where do you get crushed up peppermint? Take some peppermints, crush them up. Put them in a blender. And throw them on top of brownies? That's what we put on birthday cakes. We do it on birthday cakes. Somebody told me about Jolly Ranchers. You chop up Jolly Ranchers and you put a fine mist of them on a cookie and you bake it. You know what I think of? And it glazes it. When Wood says that and when you say that, glass shards. Me too. That's what they look like on the brownies, dude. They taste delicious. 570-1949 is our number. M1L from San Diego. Hi, guys. What was the word of the day? Candy Cane. That's correct. You did it really early this morning. Yes, we did. That's right. Did it a little early this morning, and you caught it. You had a very fine-tuned ear. You did very well, M1L. It's like LLB's palate. That's right. It's true. Hang on the line, will you? Hang on the line just a minute. Thank you very much. Reminder, you just, by the way, she won a pair of tickets to see Linkin Park and also got a Mikey Show t-shirt.
Just want to let people know at 9 o'clock this morning, a couple of Secret Service agents are coming in that were on the detail the day that Kennedy was shot. They were there, and we're going to talk to him. One of these guys has not spoken publicly before. Mike Tyson was on Larry King, and Larry asked Mike about his face tattoo. Why did you put those markings on your face? Why did you just put it out there, Larry? Markings. Markings. Why do you have that stuff all over your face? What's going on with that ink in your head? It's called a tattoo, Larry. I like this. This is what I wanted to do. When I saw the tattoo, I wanted to do it, but I just didn't find the right tattoo to do it with. Doesn't tattooing hurt?
Oh, come on. Come on, dude. Has he never ever heard of a tattoo? Is that the best you got after 104 years on TV? Maybe it is time. It's time. This is what I appreciate about Larry. Larry and I do interviews the same way. He doesn't prepare questions. He just has information about the person. And from that, lets his curiosity just ask questions that he'd be interested in. Oh, boy. Doesn't tattoos hurt? Don't ask stupid questions, Larry. Yeah, you know what else, though, Larry? This is the same guy that takes punches to the face by 250-pound world heavyweights, so I think a tattoo might be all right. He's okay. It's like a splinter to him. He could probably deal with it. Well, yeah, it did hurt a little, yeah. Hurt a little. They're taking a needle, right? And they're rubbing it into your head. We didn't know that. Why? One, two, Larry. Now, hang on. In Larry's defense, that's a good question. Why? Why did you put that on your face is a decent question. Like, hey, listen, it hurts. It's a tattoo, blah, blah, blah. On your freaking face? I love it. I know. Woods is the only guy I've ever met. No way. I watched his documentary the other day, and I'm watching him talk, and I go, yep, he's the only man in the world that can pull it off. And I look at him, I'm like,
He pulled it off. He looks badass with it. I don't believe he pulled it off. No. 100%. I believe the opposite. He looks... It only looks good on him. If I did, I'd look like an idiot. I'd look like an idiot anyway. I think you should do it, Woods. You should. No, you should not. Yeah, you should totally do it. Let's do a temporary and see how it looks. Around the eye. Henna? Henna, yes. He looks like the strange member of Kiss. Like the member of Kiss that didn't really make it, you know? Like, you can go ahead and take your makeup off now. Oh, you can't? Well, it was like he was trying out for Kiss, and Gene Simmons came out and went, forget it. We're not going to take you. You went a little overboard. Yeah, stop. I love it. I want the tattoo, Barry. That's why I did it, because I want the tattoo. Yeah, makes sense, Mike. Here he asks Mike about the death of his daughter. What the most changed you? I don't know. I just knew I had to grow up. I had a... Oh, he fascinates me. Incident where I lost my daughter in some family accident at home. And it was just a time to grow up and wake up. That was, of course, the worst incident in your life, right? Pretty much. Pretty much, yeah. Has she died how? A freak accident on a treadmill.
How old was she? Four. You never get over that, do you? I don't know. It's a new stage. It's the beginning stage, so I don't know if I get over it or not. Do you believe in an afterlife? Do you believe she is somewhere? I don't know anything. I just know that we have to keep on living. And being alive is for the living, and being dead is for the dying. We have to continue living. Oh, I feel my heart aches for him. That's impossible. How long ago did that happen? Last year. How about you don't ask me about that? Yeah, how do you talk about it? I'll punch you in your old face. That documentary is fascinating. I know you own it. Watch it, please. It's so good. I want to borrow that. What documentary? It's called Tyson. You're like, you can't turn away. Tyson talks about bullying. Do you ever have anybody you were afraid of? I'm afraid of tons of people, I guess. By the way, speaking of that, Tyson said that when he was in prison, you know, they said, somebody asked him one time, they said, you know, it must have been not so bad for you to be in prison because nobody is going to push you around. You're Mike Tyson. And he said, in prison, everybody is pushed around. I am. Yeah. Which, maybe I'm naive.
I didn't think Mike Tyson would get pushed around in prison, but then when you think about it, it's like, well, I want to be the guy that can say that I took on Mike Tyson. Absolutely. Or I want to be the seven guys. Right. I think one guy could take him. Yeah. It's easy to be bullied because you never fought before. You don't know if you're going to win. You don't have the confidence. Confidence is everything. Confidence breeds success. Success breeds confidence. When I was a confidence, you just don't go nowhere. Did you have fights as a kid? Yeah, but I wasn't. that successful. Some of the stories make it. I was beating everybody up in the streets. No, I wasn't that successful. Your kids beat you up. Yeah. I wonder if there was a kid somewhere after you won the championship sitting around with friends saying, you know, I beat him up. Guaranteed. You ever run into something later on? No, never. You'll have a tough time. What do you make of all this bullying going on today? I don't know. It's just a different world from when I was a little kid. It's a different world. I mean, do you know why people bully people? I never understood it. I don't know. People bully people because they were bullying. That's just the way it goes. The abuser becomes the abuser. That's just how it goes, right? Some people are born bullies, though. That's insightful, though. It is. It is. He has some pretty smart things to say. I think that's insightful. I think that that may be the truth, that bullies bully because they were bullied. Either it was by their own dad or it was by their brothers.
Totally agree with that. You know what I mean? Yeah. I'll come out here and rough talk to him and run him off. But I also see what LOB is saying because it was always in my nature to want to defend people that were bullied. The weak. I felt so terrible for them. My heart hurt when I was a little kid. If I would see cool guys. bullying people, I always thought that it was atrocious, and I thought, what a lame ass. That's why I can't really watch sports, because I always want to root for the team that's losing. Really? Yeah. I always, like, they're literally like, come on, guys, you can get it together. You can do this. You can do this. How many people do that, though, the underdogs? You can still watch sports, Jay. Don't make excuses. I don't care if the Chargers are playing. the Detroit Lions, I want it to be 89 to nothing. Oh, yeah. And you're like, ha, ha, ha, ha. In your face. I don't see millionaires playing at the professional level as bullying. No. These guys are, that's what they're paid to do, and so when it's the Chargers, I want them to humiliate the other team. Yeah, they're the best at it. Yeah. They're the best in the world. That's what I want. Okay, so Sienna, this was pretty interesting, right? So Sienna says that a friend of hers was just in town visiting her family for Thanksgiving. She was telling,
Sienna, how her boyfriend of a few years came with her. The friend brought her boyfriend. Yeah, she brought her boyfriend. And asked her dad's permission to marry her. Yep. Right. They've been dating a few years. And so I knew it was happening because she was aware that he was going to come and ask her dad's permission. Now, he's been here before. He knows her parents very well. But I thought. It was a little bit odd that she was aware of it. You know what I mean? Like, why couldn't he just ask the dad's permission without telling her? But also, it's kind of like made me think that Todd didn't ask my dad's permission. Is that something that really goes on? Like, I know my dad wouldn't have cared because he loves Todd. If he was going to ask for her dad's permission, that tells me that he had already asked her to marry him. No. He still hasn't. Well, that's the deal. It's like... Isn't that weird? It's beyond weird because then it's like, you know, if you say, if you and I are dating Sienna and I say, hey, when we go visit your family, I'm going to ask your dad if I can ask you to get married. Right. Then wouldn't your natural reaction be to say, are you asking me to marry you? Yeah. He's not. He's not. She's fully aware of it. They've talked about marriage. They've been together for years. So they've talked about marriage for the last couple years and they know that they want to marry each other, but the time's not right.
He told her it's going to happen this year. At some point. And I don't know when I'm going to see your dad again. And I want to do it in person. So I want to set up a time to ask his permission while we're there. And I kind of need your help to set it up. Because, you know, we're visiting your family. I'm sure they have stuff planned. Like, I want to make sure I have a time one-on-one with your dad. All right. So you ask. And he says yes. So, yeah. They went out to dinner, the two of them. He asked. They went to, like, the field or something downtown. And he asked. And he was like, you know. the dad knew it was coming too. So it was like a whole planned out thing. Weird. Right? Okay, so the dad says yes, right? Yes. And at that point, they go on with their lives and she just is sort of waiting to step on an engagement bomb. Yes, so everyone's waiting for it. The engagement landmine. Right, and they've even looked at rings and stuff too.
so that he knows what kind of ring that she wants. All the chance is gone. The weird thing is, I know other friends that have done this too, done the ring shopping before, known when the guy asked her dad's permission, and it's just like, where's the romance? Where's the surprise? Not only that, what if now it doesn't happen? It's this time next year, he still hasn't? Oh, yeah. No pressure. I mean, at some point, at some point, It's going to be June of next year, and she's going to be like, hey, oh, never mind. She's going to say, didn't my dad green light this whole project? I'm still waiting. What project, babe? That dinner you guys went when you went to the field down in San Diego. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. What did he say, by the way? He said, yeah. I totally agree. Well, I don't want to blow the surprise. You kind of already did. And it's looking real empty. And I think that whole thing is crazy anyway. Like, I didn't ask Kim's dad. Wait, you think it's crazy to ask the dad? Yeah, it's not like his choice. Like, really? No, you cannot marry my daughter. It's a blessing. It's respect. You know what? If they both agree...
I mean, if I said no, like if Maddie came to me and said, hey, look, I want to get married. No, you are not. He didn't ask my permission. Really? Yeah, my dad's the same as Jay. He wouldn't care. Yeah, I mean, if that's an agreement she wants to go into, then it's her business. It's not my business at that point. I mean, out of respect, yeah, you can come ask me if you want. And you know what? I think they should change it to asking for permission to... being respectful and letting the father know. I just want to let you know. Because you're not going to go, okay, we can't. I guess we can. I guess it's over. Well, Kim's folks would have. Kim's folks would have said, no way. Oh, I was just going to say, is there a dad that would be like, yeah, no, I don't think you're the right guy. A friend of mine's in the studio today and is engaged. Did you ask the dad? Did you ask her dad? He said, yeah. Come here. And they're getting married in six weeks, right? Congrats. Congratulations. Two weeks. Two weeks. Can we kiss the bride? Oh, boy. I'm just saying. So you asked her dad. Yeah, I did. I went to her dad. She had no idea about it. Yeah. It was more a respect thing because I really got along with her dad. And I figured I would ask him. How did you do it? Just called him and said, hey, can I come over? And sat down. He knew.
He knew that we were getting married, wanted to get married. But what I'm saying, when you said, can I come over, he had to have known why. He had an idea because I wouldn't just come over. Right, right. So you came over. Where? I just got off work. Normal clothes. Yeah, I just got off work and went over. Were you nervous? A little. Of course you were. So nerve-wracking. But my fiance was, it was one night that I could get away from my fiance and go. Right. So I went. Yeah. And I just like, all right, I'm just going to do it, not tell her. And it worked out perfect. So when you went there. Where did it take place? The living room, the kitchen, the where? Living room. Did you sit down on a couch? Yeah, he was already sitting down, so I went over and sat down with him. You sat across. He has one couch, so I just sat right next to him. Oh, boy. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I need... Seating arrangement. How much space was in between you guys? Is he on the end of the couch? Yeah, it was like a three-seated couch. So I sat on one side and he sat on the other. And we were facing each other. And you were facing each other. And try as best as you can to tell me what you said. And this would be interesting for Ashley, your fiancé, too, because she's probably maybe never heard how this went down. How did you do this? Basically, well...
It kind of started with small talk. Right. How about those charges? Pretty much. Because I think a Lakers game was on. Right. So we were talking about the Lakers. Right. And then I just, he was like, oh, I noticed you probably came over to talk about something. Oh, boy. And I was like. He had to bring it up. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. He's looking at his watch. It's almost the fourth quarter. Yeah. And then I just asked him. He was like. He started to get all teary-eyed. Really? He was stoked because he considers me his son anyways. That's awesome. How'd you do it? How'd you say it? I just said, um... Actually, I don't even remember. Really? To be honest, I don't. I literally blocked out. It's like old school. That's how you debate. I'm sure he's excited. That's how you debate. I'm sure he's just excited to get her off his payroll. Yeah, exactly. He's like, okay, it should be on your insurance. So he says yes. Yeah, he said yeah, and then he just kind of gave me some advice and just basically said, make sure you got everything in line. Make sure this is what you guys.
Feels right right like if you guys feel like it's right. I'm not gonna stop you I mean, I'm still how old are you? I'm 21 and how old is she 22? Yeah, you guys are young Yeah, we're we're definitely young, but I mean he gave us advice and he was just like honestly like I know you guys love each other I'm not gonna stop you because of that right, but I mean I'm still gonna give you the typical Dad advice right you feel like you should wait wait. Yeah Yes, but It worked out good. That's awesome, man. That's awesome. Well, congratulations. Thank you, guys. See, and I think that's what a lot of dads want. They want the ability to say, okay, well, I want you to do this. I want you to do this. That's, I think, more what it is, is they want to be able to give you their two cents and say, hey, listen, if you hurt my daughter, I'm going to slit your throat. So Maddie shows up to my house, and she and her boyfriend go, you know, we're going to get married. You don't think that that's going to be the time I go? Hey, come here, buddy. Let's go have a conversation. Yes. Yeah, but he doesn't have to come to me beforehand. He doesn't need permission. Kim and I would have never gotten married if I had to wait for her parents to come around. Not permission. I think it's like what you said. It's, hey.
By the way, I would appreciate your blessing, but it's happening. Oh, I wouldn't say that. No, not in those words. But it's happening. Listen, buddy. No, not in those words. Listen, old man. Hey, Gramps. I'm going to marry your daughter, and hopefully you're cool with it. If you're not, you can kick rocks. You don't say it like that. M1 Bobby from OB. Guys, good morning. Good morning. How are you doing? Good, thanks. How are you? My daughter's name, actually. I just now put that together. That's awesome. Very cool. When I asked my wife to marry me, her father was totally, like, upset that I didn't ask him first. At the time, he was an Episcopal priest. I don't think it has to do with the religion part, but for some reason he was upset about it, and he had just divorced her mother. Because of infidelity. On whose part? His or hers? On his part. And I'm thinking, you jackass. Yeah. Telling me that I've been together with your daughter since high school. We've now been together 18 years this December. Congrats. And I'm thinking, this guy, you know, did what he just did. And he's telling me, like.
And basically he didn't say no, but he was not happy with it. Did he actually tell you this to your face? Like, hey, I'm kind of, I'm disappointed that you didn't ask my permission? He said at this point in time, you guys are too young, and I just don't think that, you know, you guys put enough thought into it. Wait, wait, wait, wait. I have to understand this correctly, Bobby. Did he? Hey, Bobby, Bobby. Yeah. Just so I understand correctly. you did ask his permission and he didn't give the blessing or you didn't ask at all? No, I didn't ask at all. And then he came to you and said, hey, by the way, I just want you to know my thoughts on it. Yeah. And did he at any point say to you, and by the way, I'm kind of upset that you didn't ask my permission? Yeah, that's exactly what happened. It was like at dinner in Coronado and him saying, you know, by the way, I would have appreciated you asking me. We're sitting outside. I said, well, this is really going to piss you off, make you upset. I'm having the beet farmers play at the wedding. Wow. And she was just like, okay, so you got... I don't get it. Who's the beet farmer? Yeah, what's that? Dwight Schrute and his bunch? Joey Harris of the beet farmers. Yeah, but why would that upset him? Because his son was also a guitar player, and they hung out together and got to, you know, some...
Some scrapes here and there, troubles and things. It's a drunken brawl when those guys perform. Is it? For sure. I surf, so I live a healthier lifestyle than those guys. And it almost offended me that he was upset that here I am, this clean-cut guy with a great job, totally in love. Here we are 18 years later. And he still gives me the dirty eyes. Does he really? That's ridiculous. I guarantee that happens, though, of dads being like, you know, I would have really appreciated you coming to me before you done that. Oh, my dad would be like that. My dad would not appreciate that. My question is, too, is like, okay, so the mom has nothing to do with it. The dad is the overall ruling. I mean, it should be husband and wife. It should be both the parents. You know, at our house, my house, we're both head of the house. Well, it's just traditional. Yeah, it's fantastic because we're both equals. Well, we're equals too. Then why are you the head of the house? Because I am the one that makes the, I'm the leader of the house. But she, I mean, but we're equal in terms of like input. I just make the final decision. So we make decisions together. I pay the bills, pal. Well, listen. Do you? Yes, I do. Oh, you actually pay the bills. We make the decisions. But together you earn the money. We make the decisions together too. But it's.
And I told her this the other day. I don't think I've ever, and maybe she could correct me, and we've got to get her on the phone anyway because today's her birthday. I've got to tell her I love her. But I don't think I've ever exercised like veto. Veto power. You know, I don't think I've ever, you know, we hear each other out, and it's usually that we agree, but I don't think there's ever been a time. Now, the opposite has happened, where we've talked about something and she's kind of put her foot down. And I go, all right, you know, because I'm not going to. Happy wife, happy life. I wanted a darker brown paint in her. I'm happy that she put her foot down about that. Call in right now if you'd like to play movie plot hot potato. Hey, what star do you think asked to be in the last two Twilight movies and got turned down? Male or female? And they're no slouch either, by the way. I'll tell you who that is.
Make some noise in here. Make some noise in here. So what star do you think has to be in the last couple of Twilight movies? And was told no. We'll tell you in just a minute. Did you hear the story, by the way, too, about a couple NFL players? What is it? There's one NFL player. He's tweeted to another one that he wants to fight him before the game. He knows they'll get fined, but he wants to take that money and give that money to charity. He went to Twitter for it. What? Yeah. I'll tell you about it. Woods on Sports at 730. Oh, wow. You don't want to miss it. All right. Let's see. I'm Mikey. That's Woods. That's Lauren O'Brien, otherwise known as L-O-B. L-O-B. That's Sienna. And it's Jay over there and screening phone calls today. It's gross. It's gross.
It's turned into us gagging. Our phone screener is... My lovely wife is turning 20 years old today. Oh, cradle robber. Yeah. Hi, honey. Hi, guys. How are you? I'm good. How are you? Happy birthday. Wait. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Rebecca. Happy birthday to you. Gross. You know I use my hand paddle. You know I use my hand. Maki. Maki. So creepy. Thank you. Honey, I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday and tell you I love you. Oh, thanks, hon. I love you, too. All right, baby. Okay, bye. See you later. Bye. That was touching. It would have been funny if you said, okay, get.
Okay, babe. Happy birthday. I love you. Nugget. Alright, so this particular star that wanted to be in the Twilight movies that didn't get to is somebody that L.O.B. is a fan of. And it is a guy. Wesley Snipes. It is not Wesley Snipes. It is not Taye Diggs. LeBron James. James Franco. James Franco. I had done a little bit with Seth Rogen like two years ago on the Oscars, and it was really fun. And then the producer of this year's Oscars is Bruce Cohen, who produced Milk. So he's a friend of mine. Okay. And so we'd been talking about doing something, and we've been talking for like six months, and I wanted to do a bit with the Twilight kids. I just... I wanted to be a part of that movie, by the way, like the last two movies. Really? I asked Bill Condon if I could be in it, and he'd turn me down. Really? Wow. No kidding. Hey, we don't have a role for you, pal. That would be weird, though. I feel like he's kind of a big star to just throw in there. He could be all pale and bite the sides of his cheeks and be like, ugh. Right? Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah. Is there a movie? Yeah, I was going to say, Woodsy, is there a movie that you would...
Goodfellas. Yes, any mafia movie I'd be all the way in. Or any overeating movie I'd be great at. Let's play some movie plot hot potato. 570-1949. The way that it works is that you have to pick Jay or Woods. And they are going to toss a hot potato back and forth for 60 seconds. And at the end of the 60 seconds, whoever is holding... That hot potato is the loser. And they have to take a bullet from a BB. Yeah, better a BB. Now, I want to point this out because somebody wrote me about it. You know, there's a lot of kids listening. Don't do this at home. We're professionals with a BB gun, are we? Yes. And so don't do this at home, kids. Do as we say, not as we do. Yes. And also, you must know that we are... Expert marksman? Yes. Always wear protection. Always wear protection. And this is an old, weak BB gun. Right. Let's see. Let's talk to M1 Steve from Escondido. Who would you like, Steve? I'd like to pick Dr. McNugget. There you go. I'll take it. You got Woods. Fine. Hang on the line. And M1 Papa Driz. Can I have Jay?
Yes. Yes, thank you. Yes, you can. Just stop shouting at him. Yeah, why are you screaming? Calm down. At the top of your lungs. You can have him. Come on. I want Jay! You can have him. All right, hang on the line, all right? Okay. Hang on, Papa Drez. All right, you got 60 seconds. They're going to give me the plots of movies, and I have to guess what the movie is. What's the matter, Woods? You can't see those, can you? No. Okay, good. No. You ready? Make sure. Here we go. Hoo-ah! Uh, Scent of a Woman. You think Val Kilmer is terrible in this western. Tombstone. At the end of the movie, they drive off a cliff. Oh, Thelma and Louise. Okay. Robert Downey Jr. builds this suit for the military. Iron Man. Elton John sings Circle of Life. The Lion King. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton go to the parking lot and beat the crap out of each other. Fight Club. Bill Murray has to live this day over and over again. Groundhog Day. Private Pyle shoots himself. Full Metal Jacket.
Is that 36 including me? Try not to do anything on the way to the parking lot. Oh, clerks. Mickey Rourke is a tour de force in this movie. The Wrestler. Yep. Want to hear the most annoying sound in the world? Dumb and Dumber. Oh, there's a killing in a wood chipper. Oh, Fargo. I have no more movies to talk about. I don't either. You lose. Make one up. Make one up. Make one up. Yeah. Why don't we make them both winners? Make them both winners? We both take a BB? We both take a BB? He's never gotten all of them. Never! I'll tell you, does anybody have a coin? Anybody have a coin? We'll flip a coin, because we only ran out of movies. I've got to give you a high five. I know. Dude, you were on. Jay, call it in the air. Feds. Tails. Dang it. Yeah. Feast. So he takes a BB. Jay takes a BB. And that means Woods won. And that is M1. Steve from Escondido, you are a winner. Don't know of what? All right. Hang on the line. Okay. Jay is in the other room so that we don't injure anybody. And Jay is standing, everybody in the studio on their feet watching.
I missed. I missed. I missed. I missed. I missed. I missed. I missed. I hit the wall. How did you miss? No way. Let's give them what they want. My turn. You missed. Yeah, Woods gets shot for missing. Now Jay's shooting Woods. Woods up against the wall. I heard that one. Oh, yeah. That one made contact. Taking one for the team, buddy. You ever just terrible? Oh, man. Oh, man. Good stuff. Not an expert marksman. I have no man panties on. Ouch. Ouch, ouch, ouch. You have jeans on. Jeans are thick. Yeah. That one hurt. That was the worst one ever. Again, kids, don't do this at home. Oh, no. Look who's here. I guess you guys are just going to teach children how to do terrible things. Who is this? Who is this? Eric's. Who do you think it is? I don't know. Who is it? Identify yourself. Yeah, who are you? My name is Captain Buzzkill. What do you want? That's for sure. What do you want? My friends call me CBK. That's right. What friends? My gerbils. Gerbils. I think it's really rude that you're teaching people how to shoot weapons. I'm not really teaching them.
Don't you think it's the wrong climate socially to be doing anything like that? No, it's just a joke. We're just having fun. Just having fun. Just a little pellet. You know what fun is? Fun is like when you play Dungeons & Dragons. That's fun for you. You play World of Warcraft. Exactly. You kill people with swords in that game. Well, I play Halo. That's violent. They have guns in that. It's not real, you guys. Say what? It's not real. I'm not really kidding. But he's shooting me with an old, weak BB gun. Yeah. Just stings. Yeah, you're just saying that on the air, but in reality, it's probably a high-velocity capacity. Why would we do that? Why would we do that? And if so, so be it. I've been watching the timer. For the Mikey-thon? For the Mikey-thon? Take it easy with the breathing. Yes, to... Oh, good one. You're going to love the Mikey-thon, CBK, I promise. It's going to be a lot of fun. He's going to be camped out. What time are you going to get here? Are you going to get here on the 15th, the stakeout spot? No, I'm not. Why don't you guys call it the No-Muse-a-thon? Oh, boy. Okay. Why don't you call it another thing? There's a lot of charities out there that you can be putting your attention into.
Sure. There's a lot of charities out there. Yeah, Brady's Children's Hospital. Children's Hospital is a great one. You have a problem with the charity event, I guess? Do you know how many people are living right now that have never played D&D and just took your resources? You could introduce them to them. That's not a charity. Dungeons and Dragons? So, let me get this straight, CBK. You have a problem with a children's charity? That would make you a monster. Wow. You're a monster? Are you a monster? I'm not. You're a monster. I'm not. You're disgusting. Do you have horns coming out of your forehead right now? Yeah, you disgust me. Where's your pitchfork? You disgust me. A children's charity, you have a problem with it. Wow, what a creep. What a creep. What a horrible, horrible person. You're a creep. You're a creep. They would do it. They would do what? No, they would not. No one would do that. So call them. I don't have their home numbers like I have Jeff and Jared. Call them. They're not on the radio. L-O-B. Well, why don't you lobby for them to get back on? Yes. Lob for them L-O-B. You're so clever. Comedian. Really got him. What a monster. He's such an angry man. He really is. He's a monster. 570-194-9 is our number if you want to get a hold of us. 900 Christmas trees are being given out.
Yesterday, actually, they were given out in Pendleton to families in the military. So nice. So nice. 900 trees. That is so awesome. Who did it? There's an organization, the Christmas Spirit Foundation, and FedEx, they did it. What is this one in five divorces? Oh, I knew you were going to like this one. What is it? One in five divorces now involve what? Cheating. No, that had to be the deal before, right? I would say probably two, three, five would involve cheating. One in five American divorces now involve Facebook. Oh, my. One in five. Wow. 20%. Yep. 20% of divorces because of Facebook. Wow. Isn't that crazy? Oh, my gosh. It started with lipstick on the collar. Then, you know, the emails and the texts. And now it's Facebook. They're saying that 66. Lawyers are just saying that they're citing from their divorce experiences that Facebook is the biggest social networking. Then MySpace has followed with 15%. Also, Twitter has caused divorces. What? It's just social networking. Twitter? Why? Because people started dating Kanye? No, people that tweet about someone else or someone.
Follow somebody. I'm not a Twitterer. She lost her password. I don't remember it. Tell everybody what you said the other day. You go, I don't like Twitter. This was off the air. She goes, I'm not into Twitter. I don't have anything to say. What do you say? I don't want to tweet about how I got a latte. I also don't remember my password. Nor can I tweet about my latte because I don't know how to get on the day. to get back on twitter it's so great well you know the thing is when i think about it you go okay so before the days of facebook before the days of email and before the days of cell phones cheating must have been exclusive to work and going out you go out with friends and you meet someone or at work because there just weren't opportunities those were the opportunities to cheat yeah now facebook has made it to where it's easier. Yeah, well, absolutely. You know, that's why I don't want my husband to have a Facebook. Yeah. But if you think about it, like you look at your significant other's wall and, you know, some girl posts something like, hey, sweetie, haven't seen you in a while. Like, I'm sorry, but it's going to bother the person you're with and they're going to see it. And it's just like, ugh, unnecessary. You do what my wife does. You click like. Yeah, that's a brilliant idea. It is brilliant. But it just shows. I mean, society has changed and now, I mean, that statistic.
is going to grow, I guarantee it. Oh, it's insane. I remember one time, she'll probably, she'll either think it's funny or she'll want to kick me in the nards for telling this story, but she liked one time, there was a person on our fan page and the person's name happened to be Marnie, which is an ex-girlfriend's name. And you know how every wife has that one? Every wife has that one that they just, they don't want to hear that one's name. It's painful. No matter what, we're upset. They don't like that name. They don't want to hear that one's name. It's like a four letter word. Right. Doesn't every husband too? Yeah. Yeah. For you, it's Craig. Craig. Everyone has one. Craig. Yeah. For me, it's Alan. Alan. Hi, Al. There's a big Al over there. So. Weird Al. Weird Al. A person. Name Marnie. Don't even remember what their last name was, but it wasn't the Marnie that, you know, whatever. I know a Marnie. You do? Yeah. It's a pretty, it's not the most common name. It's like a Sienna. Yeah. You've heard it, but not all the time. It's a Marnie on twins. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like a Steve. Not at all. Not like, okay, sorry. But anyway, this person wrote something completely.
It was completely innocuous. It wasn't something that was like, hey, big fella. Hey, Dr. McNuggets. It was something that was very like, you know, kind of random and obscure. And I remember that she clicked like. And I smiled when I saw it because I thought, I bet you think. And it's not. I'd have done the same thing. Oh, yeah. You know, if the person had a very obscure kind of like Zeke. That's not a name that you hear all the time. So if her ex had been named Zeke and suddenly I saw a Zeke making a comment, I'm sure I'd be like, how you doing Zeke? You write under the message, hey babe, what do you feel like doing this weekend? Yeah, yeah. My gosh. Hey babe, why did you like this random? So when we come back. Woodsy's going to tell you about this NFL player that tweeted to another NFL player that he wants to fight him before the game and take the fine money and give it to charity. Who are these two clowns? Woodsy will tell you next in Woods on Sports. Let's hear it from our lives. Everybody enjoying some nice, fresh Gaglione brothers, which is so good. So good.
Gaglione Brothers, famous steaks and subs. They have a location at the Sports Arena and also on Friars Road. It's right there in that same shopping center that the San Diego Brewing Company is in. And they really do make really, really incredible subs and cheesesteak sandwiches. You can find them online, gaglionebros.com. They're on Facebook. They're on Twitter. They also do garlic fries. They do the Cheez Whiz, cheesesteaks. Oh, yeah. I'm having a turkey club right now. It's like a cranberry in it. Oh, that's so good. It's like leftover Thanksgiving. Nice. At the Fryer's location, they're now serving Ballast Point beer. Are they really? Oh, yeah. So good. And a pickle bar. Ooh. Love pickles. Very good. That's one of the few bars you can go to these days, Mike. Yeah, I still go to a pickle bar and a sushi bar. Sushi bar. Ice cream bar. I'm allowed to go to those. Ice cream bar. 570-1949. Crowbar could do that if I want to. You can't do a crowbar. Let's see. Toolbar. Toolbar could do that. At 9 o'clock, we're having a couple of Secret Service agents in here that were there with Kennedy on the day. And one of them has not spoken, has not done interviews right up until this time, and now is beginning to. I guess enough years have gone by that he feels comfortable being able to do that. Let's do this.
Let's hear about the players that one of these players tweeted to another player. Hey, let's fight before the game and give the money to charity. What's on Sports is brought to you by our friends at Clearview Eye and Laser Medical Center. Well, I'm going to get you that story in one second. Hang with me. Cool. There was an NFL football game last night. The Houston Texans took on LLB's Philadelphia Eagles. Eagles were down, rallied to a victory. Really? By the one. The only Mike Vick. Yes. You find out a lot about yourself playing this game. And, you know, at times when you think you can't do it, you know, there's something always in the back of your mind saying, yes, you can. And that's what drives me. That's what motivates me. And the opportunity at achieving greatness is what I strive for. Obviously.
Obviously, Mike. Well, yeah, it's obvious. Look at the scoreboard. I know. He's so great. 34-24. He did. He electrocuted it last night. All right, Woods. He almost went the entire... He drowned those guys, man. Oh, my gosh. He did. He picked up the Texans, and he slammed their lifeless body into the ground. He buried them. Yeah, and he buried them. Poor little dogs. Get them, Mike. Get them. 34-24 Eagles. There you go. All right, so I'm going to give you one guess. I'm going to give you one guess who the instigator was on Twitter. T.O. I'll give you two guesses. Ocho Cinco. Yes, I love me. Ocho Cinco, his new bit is he likes to get under the skin of the opposing, one of the opposing team's players the week before the game. Only problem is his team sucks. Yeah. Bad. They're two and nine. They're one of the worst teams in the NFL. Them and the Bills. Yeah, them and the Bills. It bothers me to no end when guys that are terrible run mouth. It makes me nuts. It makes me nuts. Listen, I'm of the opinion that even when you're a good player, you don't run mouth. But if you are a mouth runner, you have to have W's next to your name, in my opinion, if you're going to run it. Absolutely. I totally agree with you. So he went to Twitter and he said.
Hootay versus Hootat this Sunday. Who are you going with in this game? I'm thinking of fighting Darren Sharper in pregame just because I can win. And then he said, I'll use the fine money and donate it to the United Way Fund. So here's Darren Sharper. Now, listen, it's lighthearted, allegedly. Darren Sharper's response was, you'll see when his helmet comes off the first time I hit him whether it's fun. See how much smiling there's going to be happening then. Then you'll see if it's for fun or if it's for games. I don't play games on the field. You tell Ocho Cinco that when you... You got to see me on Sunday. Believe it, Twitter King. Oh, wow. Then he sent Ocho Cinco a picture of his Super Bowl ring. Oh, wow. I loved it, man. So, you know, here's the thing, though. I guess what he's doing is working because you know what? I want to see the Bengals play on Sunday. I do, too. So, I mean, maybe he's a marketing genius, Ocho Cinco. I want to see it, and I think that Darren Sharper will probably go out there and want to crack his head open. Yeah, absolutely. You know, Ocho's got to know that, too. So to me, there seems to be a little bit of, like, what do you call it when you want to get hurt? You're a masochist? Masochist? Is it? Maybe. Someone that wants to hurt other people, sadist. Someone that wants to hurt themselves, masochist. Right. Mike Vick, sadist. Ocho Cinco is a...
What do we call it? Masochist. So there you go. If you need a point of reference, there you go. Pretty sure every football player is a sadist. Probably. Except for the kicker and the punter. But also another big story out of Pittsburgh is that Ben Roethlisberger does not have a broken right foot, but he says he's healing from an aggravation from a previous injury. They're saying he may not even play on Sunday. He said, I'm playing. I'm chubby and I'm playing. And then finally, the Pittsburgh Pirates have released. This was a crazy story. Years ago they came out. There was an Indian reality show. I think their theme song was We Will Rock You, but... Boy, you boy, make a big noise, playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday. You got mud on your face, you big disgrace, kicking your can all over the place. Sing it. We will, we will rock you. Sing it. What? We will, we will rock you.
And the pause. Buddy, you're a young man, hard man, sitting in the street, gonna take on the world. Someday you got bread on your face, you break this grave, waving your banner all over the place. Oh, boy. Sing it. Sing it. Sing it. We will, we will rock you. Oh, that's good. Well, so India had this reality show, and it was called The Million Dollar Arm. And it was whoever won the show was going to get a spot on a Major League Baseball roster, which is insane. Weird. Of course, the Pittsburgh Pirates, who've won seven games in the last seven years, took a shot on this guy, Dinesh Patel. His run is over. Dinesh Patel has been released. And lucky for us, I was able to get him here today. Dinesh Patel is joining us in studio. Dinesh, I'm sorry to hear that you got cut by the Pirates. It's okay. The run was good, and I had a good time. Now, you didn't have a very strong ERA. It was like you let in about nine runs every inning that you pitched. Yeah, but, you know, in my country.
This is good. This is actually good, Yari. You are literally the only baseball player in your country. No, that is my little brother, but he doesn't play professionally. He doesn't play professionally. No, not yet. I'm really sorry that your career with the Pittsburgh Pirates is over. Did you learn anything from it? I learned to stay with the Bangladesh and go loose. And I will stay there. Okay. Thank you. Well, thanks for coming in. It was a long trip. Thank you. That's Woods on Sports. Thank you. Did you hear about the Oklahoma woman that was hiding... Women. Women. Yeah, two women. They were hiding merchandise under their rolls. Under their, like, bread rolls? No, no, no, no. That would make sense, L.O.B. That would actually make sense. Make more sense. Crescent rolls. Crescent rolls. Was not. Crescent rolls. Fruit rolls. Fruit rolls. It was not fruit rolls. Ham rolls. It was their... Kind of. Fat rolls. Fat rolls. Well, that's because you have big jugs. Yeah. Yeah, these two women from Oklahoma, they were doing a little shopping and stealing at TJ Maxx. And they had, would you like me to tell you what they hid? Sure. In their fat rolls? Sure. Now, okay, it was said in their armpits, in their big boobs. Disgusting. And in their stomach fat rolls. Oh, my God. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. These two women hid four pairs of boots.
Oh, wow. I'm not done. Four pairs of boots. Four pairs of boots. Oh, wow. I'm not done. That's eight boots. That's eight boots. Eight boots. Oh, my. She said boots. Boots. Boots. Like cowboy boots. Three pairs of jeans. No. Oh, my God. A wallet. No. And gloves. And a bicycle. Yeah. Holy cow. I mean, I know that you can. The boobs, you can store things in there. I've done it. Yeah. But. I've done it. You can store things in the cleave? Yeah. In the cleavage. Yes. She can put a VW in there. Not every girl can do that. Sienna can do that. What? She could put two VWs. Two VWs. I can't put a VW. I mean, like, if I go for a walk or something, I'll put, like, the keys in there. My keys. Why don't you put them in your pocket or your purse? I don't have pocket or purse when I go for a walk. You don't? All right. Not if you wear like the stretchy pants. Okay. Sienna? Yeah? Doesn't that hurt? Keys? No, you can't feel it. You can't feel it? I want to squeeze them. No, you can't feel it. What do you mean you can't feel it? I can demonstrate. Please do. Tell me how you don't... And you won't even notice. This is like the old Mikey show, 10 years ago. Demonstrate. Where's the beer? I need a beer. It is nice. I don't want her to do it now. Oh, come on.
Come on, it's clean. You're not going to see anything. Those are big keys. Oh, easy. A whole bunch of stuff. Oh, boy. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, she sure did. That doesn't hurt? I can't tell. Listening audience, she has a giant fisherman's sweater on, so we're not looking at her. That's true. Yeah, I do. Thank you. I have a big sweater on. A big sweater. No, it doesn't hurt. It doesn't hurt? It's not jabbing into your boob? No. It's like pushing. Cooters, cooters, yum, yum, yum. Four pairs of boots. Four pairs of boots. I could not do that. That's for sure. I mean, the cleave, I get it. You can put a wallet in your cleave. I can put a wallet in there, yeah. Oh, wow. Well, I wonder what the audio would have sounded like had they caught up with one of these ladies. Security to the front.
You need no security. Excuse me, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not touching you. My hands aren't on you. Don't you touch me. Can I get a word with you for a second, ma'am? Yes, you can. First of all, I need to introduce myself. Don't touch me. I work security here at the store. You screaming at me right now. I'm not. What is in your shirt? My belly. Obviously. I see a large bulge that's protruding from your shirt, ma'am. I'm going to need to take a look at that. If you could, please let me know what's under there. It's a television. Why do you have a television under your shirt? You want it? It's ours from here from the store. How do you know? We saw you. We've got you on camera stealing it. It's mine. It's not yours. You leave her alone. Don't touch her either. First of all, sir, I need you to step back into that quadrant right there, okay? If not, I'm going to have to hit you with my flashlight. My name is Rufus. Rufus, I know. Don't be hassling her. I'm not hassling her, sir. She is a thief. Sir, she's a thief. I didn't touch her. I didn't touch her. Sir, you need to stand over there in that quadrant right now. Hey, I got a flashlight here. I'm not afraid to use it, pal. Have a bowl. You're going to call a lawyer, Rufus.
Hey, listen, ma'am, I'm going to need you to stand back, and I'm going to need you. What else you got under there? I don't know. Can you lift your boob up? Can I lift my what? Your breast. All right, fine. I got a toe subbing under my boob. That's mine, though. Ma'am, you did not bring that from home. That is from the stores, from aisle seven. You didn't. It's still in the box. I have a letter. It's still in the box. I have a letter. Ma'am. I have a letter. Ma'am. I'm going to have to call. And she said. I'm going to have to call the police. Don't call. I'm calling the police. I got to go. Look, Chubbs, I'm going to call the police. You call a lawyer if you're going to call anybody. Sir, you need to step back. Sir, sir. I'm going to hit you with my flashlight. It could have sounded like that. I had it happen. Violent security guard. The women were trying to steal. $2,600 worth of merchandise from TJ Maxx. That's a lot of clothes at TJ Maxx, dude. That's a lot of clothes at TJ Maxx. It's a lot. I had the Maxx for the minimum. Eight boots. I can't get over that. Girl, we're going to go down to TJ Maxx. We're going to get us four pairs of boots. Wow. And more. Smart. Is TJ Maxx clothes only? No. It's like Ross. It's like a department store. We have a bunch of stuff. So last night.
Rebecca was watching America's Next Top Model. Mm-hmm. ANTM. Do you watch it? I used to. Yeah. ANTM. Yeah. Yeah. And the girl that won was approximately 6'5". 89 pounds. 89 pounds. And she was very, very tall. And she looked like... Paulina Paul, does anybody even know who Paulina Forskova is? Yeah, Forskova. She's married to Rico Kasich from the Cars, who was absolutely the hottest girl the year that I graduated from high school, 88. With, no question, the ugliest dude from the year you graduated high school, 1988. There's nobody worse. Who was, what year did you graduate? 93. Who was the hottest girl in 1993? Cindy Crawford. Really? Period. She was a different kind of supermodel. I'd never seen, you know, I was 17 when I graduated high school. I'd never seen anything like that before. Never. You've seen supermodels. And I knew Paulina. Yeah. And I was like, oh, she's pretty. I saw Cindy Crawford. I was like, holy crap. That's a new level. She's foxy. Wasn't Kathy Ireland a big player then, too? Yeah, she was. She was gorgeous. I remember seeing her posters up. Gorgeous. Now, I'm not talking just models. I mean, it could have been anybody and, you know.
Anybody that was like in movies or whatever. Jay, Betsy Ross. Betsy Ross was good. She wore a little bit too much clothes for me. I would have to say I liked Suzanne Somers at the time. Oh, Suzanne Somers. Yes, dude. Oh, my God. I had a crush too, Jay, on her. What year? 82. 82. 82. Eleven years before me. Goldie Hawn, too. Oh, yeah. Really? Back in the day. Back in the day. Back in the day. She was a... And her daughter is Kate Hudson. I think she's prettier. If you put the two of them at the same age, you know, early 20s, back to back, Goldie Hawn. Yeah, absolutely. By a landslide. By a landslide. She was so hot. And Kate Hudson is good looking. Oh, and almost famous. She killed that role. She's gorgeous. L.O.B. Who, what guy the year? Well, first of all, what year? 99. Who was it? See, mine's not that good because it was Brad Pitt. Yeah. Who's still hot. Yeah. What about you, Sienna? What year? 2003. Wow. Oh, my gosh. You guys know how old I am. Ten years after me. I know, but it takes you saying it for me to go, oh, my gosh. I know. I was born in 85, 25 years old. I was a sophomore in high school when you were born. Well, I mean, they're all still popular, like Lauren said, but Colin Farrell was a big player. Johnny Depp, that's when Pirates came out. 5701949. Tell us who the hottest person was the year that you graduated high school.
It's going to be some girl at your high school. It's probably people are going, her name was Tammy Drake. Boy, I know that one, Katie Fry. Easy. Hottest girl in high school? Easy, Katie Fry. Made out with her one time. And that's all I got. Just a little drunken thing at a party, just a... It's a little French kiss. It's just a little French kiss. What? It was just a French kiss. It's just like what Jay and I did yesterday. It's no big deal. It's no big deal. I would have never come close to making out with the hottest girl in our high school. I wanted more, but that's all I got. You take what you get, and you run with it. Yeah. L.O.B., who was the hottest guy at your high school? Man, there's a couple of them. Phil Madison, I think was his name. I think it's Phil McCracken. Phil Madison. And I didn't get it in high school. Yeah, you did. But I got it afterwards. Wow! Is that true? Yes. You did? Wow. And at the time, I was like, oh my gosh, he was like the hottest guy in my high school. Because he was two years older than me, too. Really? Oh, wow. Sienna?
They're probably listening right now, so I don't think I need to say. Well, there's a few. I can't name one. I guarantee that they're listening. Is it bad if you say that they were good looking? But I don't have one. There was a bunch that were the cool hot guys. I went to La Jolla High, so they all live here and listen to the show. There was a few. I was friends with the hottest girl. at our high school. You were a buddy. Yeah, it was her buddy. Hey, buddy. Yeah, it was like one of her girlfriends. What do you think of the skirt I'm wearing to the prom? You're like, oh, it's great. Do you think Craig will think I look like a whore? No, you look beautiful. Craig doesn't know what you're missing. You're such a good friend, Mike. You're such a good friend. Bye! Can you water my plants while I'm gone? While I'm making love to so-and-so, can you water our plants? Can you get my laundry, too, while you're doing the plants? I think that Kim Yaffe was the...
cutest girl at our high school. And yeah, I was her friend. It was never, you know, please. Are you kidding? I participated in the big ones. To this day, people will say to her, who was the chubbiest guy in your high school? No. We each have an answer for one another. Like I say her name, she says mine. Different question being asked. Love to talk to her on the phone. Let's see. M1 Eric from San Alejo Hills. You graduated in 1985. Who was the hottest girl? Jacqueline Smith from Charlie's Angels, man. For sure. Oh, my gosh. You mean from the Kmart line? No. She was in a TV show before she was. She was never on posters or nothing like Farrah Fawcett or anything, but I was in love with Jacqueline Smith. Gorgeous, brunette. Gorgeous. M1AK from Point Loma. Stephanie Seymour? What year? Oh, man. 88. Is that the girl from that video with the...
No, no, no. I don't think she was in Guns N' Roses. She was actually a model in La Jolla. She's from La Jolla. Right. She was married to Axl Rose, singer of Guns N' Roses, and was in the November Rain video. November Rain, that's right. That's what it was. Okay, and I wanted to ask Jay if he remembers, because I know Jay's into surfing. Jay, do you remember Erin Rose? Rose. Erin Rose. She was like the... If you look at all the 80s surf magazines, she was like the top girl in surfing. I would have to have a surf magazine in order to be able to look into this. You know what I mean? Hey, thank you, AK. I appreciate it. M1, Sean from San Diego. 1996, Gwen Stefani, when No Doubt had just come out. Is this my catcher, Sean? They had that spider web. Yeah, what's up, man? What's up, dude? It's a tipsy crow right there, baby. Plays in your baseball team. Yeah. Yeah, maybe you say it's your baseball team when you say it's my catcher. It's my catcher. I was like, wow. He's your lover. You know what I mean. So you're a pitcher and he's a catcher. You should say baseball team. Yes, yes, yes. Is this my bottom? Oh, my God. L-O-V. What a lovely. Hello.
Jay's like, is this my homosexual? He's like, damn it, Woods. Let's see. M1, Randy from Claremont. 1979, Christy Brinkley. Oh, yeah. Now, I never understood Christy Brinkley. You and your Christy Brinkley. It's insanity. Never got it, man. It's insanity. She's never understood. Have you seen Vacation? Yes, I have. She's crazy, though. She is stunning. Never understood it. Never understood. Still stunning. Still stunning. Yeah, she is. Still. I say Christy Brinkley is very pretty, but I never thought of her as being in that upper echelon category. What? 100%. She defined the echelon at the time. Yeah. What about Phoebe Cates? When was that? Oh, my Lord. 81. M1 Herald from San Marcos. 1991, Christina Applegate. Oh, yeah. Married with children. She was so cute. And she was so whorish on that show. You thought you had a shot with her if you ever met her. You're like, I can close that. I think that might have had something to do with it. 100%. So let me ask you, since you graduated in 91. Go for it. Who is the best-looking girl on Beverly Hills 90210? What was that dark-haired girl she played on? Tiffany Amber Thiessen. That's the one. That's the one. Yep. I got a booners. I got a booners.
Neither was I. I was a Andrea Zuckerman guy myself. You're a weirdo. You're such a weirdo. Andrea's all those broads on that show to choose from. You're like. I like the mother hen. Yeah, mother hen. She was like 40 years old. Everyone watching the show wondered, why is this girl on here now? Why is there a 50-year-old on 902 and I'm pretending she's in high school? I run the school paper. I run the paper, Brandon. Well, you got to understand, as Chubby Mikey back in 91, I was like, which one do I think are absolutely... actually had a taste of it. Oh, no. I liked Kelly a lot. Kelly Kowalski. No, no, no. That was in Kelly Taylor. Kelly Taylor. But she looked like Edward Cullen. She did. She was so pale. You live in Southern California and you are butt white most of the time. I kept thinking that, too. Yeah, but she made that look.
Good. Not everyone can tan very easily. Donna was the worst. Oh, Donna was the worst. Oh, yeah. 100%. With Donna, I think a lot of people were almost like, man, how did this girl get this job? Was her father some sort of famous producer? You don't say. I liked her when she got the boobs, but before that I was out. She was just so annoying. Donna Martin graduated. Yeah. Donna Martin graduated. We were talking about this on the promo that played yesterday during the day here on FM 94.9 about something that we get into it with around this time of year with our siblings. We'll take your phone calls next. Forget the FM 94.9 holiday hootenanny presented by Scion going on Saturday, December 11th at Remax. It's going to be Tokyo police sleigh bells, the temper trap against me and the black keys. Tickets are 40 bucks.
You want details? Go to FM949SD.com and check it out. Or you can email me. Garrett. Garrett. You know, our program director, Garrett, is going to be filling in for me one week from today. The Garrett Show. It's going to be crazy. Yeah, he's going to be in here with you guys, and he'll be sitting in my seat, and Sienna and Woods and L.O.B. and Jay will be here. Behind my microphone will be Garrett. Garrett. Will be who? Garrett. Garrett! I'll make sure everything goes smoothly. That's right. I will not. I know. Make sure everything goes smoothly. Just trying to say that so Mike doesn't worry. Hey, listen, I figured I'd give you my testimony.
Back in 87, I started working at a station in Philly. I ran into a guy in the hallway. He almost spilled coffee. I mean, his name was Scott Shannon. Little did I know, he'd become my best friend. That's right. And then I fired Tommy. Again and again and again. But I love the guy. But I love him. I kept hiring him. Because there's stories Garrett likes to tell over and over again. Oh, man. We love you, Garrett. That's going to be rad. Love you. I'm going to have him give me his whole radio career breakdown. That'll be exciting. Mikey, no. That's not going to happen. Garrett's not going to do that. I'm going to have a show schedule like any other day. So, Garrett, start at the beginning. Garrett, start at the beginning. Woods. Woods. Tell me about high school. Mike, it's going to be okay. I promise. It's not going to be okay. Don't listen to him. He's freaking me out. He's freaking me out. Yeah, Woods. Woods. Really? Wood. Wood. 570-1949 is our number. I'm Mikey. That's Wood. That's Lauren O'Brien. Otherwise known as L.O.B. That's Sienna. And that's Jay. And our phone screener is Grouse. It's Grouse! Lauren's godmother is on the line. Are you there? Oh. Hi. Hi. Hi. You wanted to wish L.O.B. a belated, right? There? I am. Hi, L.O.B. Hi, Aunt Diane. How are you? I got your email this morning. You did?
I did. Is this the famous Aunt Diane? What's the famous Aunt Diane? How famous am I? Well, we know that they, we know that L.O.B. has a aunt that she really, really loves named Diane. Yeah. She's talked about before. That's true. Well, she has two Aunt Dianes, though. That's true. You're the one that she loves a lot. This is my godmother. You're godmother. The other one not so much. But she loves me best, right? I just wanted to call and wish her a fantastic, you know. Can I say the number? 30th birthday. Yeah, it was already said. It was already said. See, I missed it. I didn't know that. And I wanted to make sure that you partied hardy. There you go. There you go. If I taught you anything, it's that. You only go around once in life and you have to party hardy. Aunt Diane. This is such a little surprise. I can't believe it. Aunt Diane, what part of the country do you live in? Oh, I live in New Jersey. In New Jersey. Okay, cool. Cool. But I've traveled the world. She has. She travels all the time. She does. I feel the coattails of my son. That's cool. So I've been everywhere. I've been to China, and I've been to Italy, and I've been to Vancouver. That must be the accent. And Salt Lake. To most of these places sound familiar, that's because I saw the Olympic sites. That's right. You went with the Olympics. Traveled with the Olympics. Is your son an Olympic athlete? No. He is a businessman.
There you go. Is that a good line? Yeah, he works for the ticket sales. We can't say it. We can't say that. Right, right, right. We always just get the best of the best. I feel like you're about to be like, we can't say mafia on the radio. Well, Lauren's not like Robin Givens, is she? No, she is not. Okay, see, so I have to work. So now I'm just taking my lunch time. And I thought I would call in and really surprise her because I've never done this before. That's awesome. You're so sweet. Well, you're great on the radio. Oh, gold on the radio. Definitely. Party hardy. Party hardy. She should. So when she comes home for the holidays, that's the time to do it. There you go. I will. I'll be doing it from now until then. That's right. She's wiling out. Thank you, Aunt Diane. Okay, well, have a great day. Thank you. I love you. We'll see you. Love you, too. Bye. Bye. That's awesome. Is this the aunt? That has the accent. There was an aunt you said. No. Who was that? That has a Philadelphia accent. Almost all of my aunts do. Of all of L.O.B.'s accents, the Philadelphia one is the one I like the most. It's the best. My aunt Diane doesn't have it as thick. Even my mom probably has worse. The word that I always think of when you say it, scenario. Scenario. Scenario.
We're going home. We're going home. Bam Margera has that accent. He's a Philly guy. Home. We're going to go home. Give me a phone call. Oh, God, it takes me out. It tickles me. Okay, so the Secret Service agents are coming in at 9. Should be an amazing thing. Got an email I want to read to you, and you can call us at 570-1949 or text us and give us your opinion on this. What's up, Mikey Show? The holidays are coming up and the stress is high. I feel like I'm being reasonable, but I'm catching some grief from my family. I am from the Midwest and travel for the holidays every year. This year, I want to stay in a hotel with my wife and kids. My siblings think I'm being high maintenance and not being, quote, a team player. It's not a snub at them. It's just a matter of comfort. What's wrong with just wanting some space? Thanks, guys. Signed, M1 Scooter. Listen, we are all snowflakes. We are all different. So not everybody wants to stay in a house all together, even if there's plenty of room. Some people really like their privacy. For some, it comes down to simple things like I want.
my own shower and I don't want the hot water to run out. I like to be able to poop in privacy and I don't want to do it in a house where I'm sharing. Take as long as I want. I want to take as long as I want. Poor baby. Maybe my kids are high maintenance and I know it'll be better on the whole family. Oh, please. If they're not there. You be comfortable the rest of the year when you come to visit for the holidays, you buck up like the rest of us and get in there. Why? Traveling is such a beating as it is. That is family time. That is family time. You've come all that ways. To sleep? I mean, okay, we're going to drink a little bit, and now I can't drink as much because I'm going to drive back and got to go get in the hotel. There's nothing wrong with that. No, I'm not saying you have to drink, but then all of a sudden you're going home. Oh, we're going to go home early, so you can't help clean up. Yeah, but we want to just party with you and miss you. But isn't Jay actually saying, yes, you have to drink. No. And I want you to drink. They're going to drink most of the time. I want you to drink past. the point of being able to drive. That's right, Jay. This is my desire. That's right, Jay. And listen, if Jay wants to drink and have a ball, that's fine with me. I can drink right now? I know what his problem is. What? Misery loves company, dude. Misery loves company. It's not misery at all. It's fun. If I'm going to be in the trenches, you're going to be in the trenches. So all of a sudden, your wife or whoever it is that you're in law is going to say, my girlfriend. Let's go back to the hotel now. And so it's 7 o'clock. See you later. We just finished eating.
See ya. And now it's like the board games come out or whatever you're going to do at the house. And it's like, where are we going to go? And then you come back the next day. We've already made breakfast. We've already made our plans. Now we're waiting on you. But they can decide to go to bed before the games start, too. You know why? Nobody goes to bed before the games start. You know why they can? Nobody leaves before the games start. They're adults. They're adults. I only say this because I have a sister that does this. And you get mad at that. The whole family gets mad. That's not fair. It's not fair. It is completely fair. It's not fair. I mean, as crazy as your family may be, it's fun. It's the experience. When you wake up in the morning, you all want to have breakfast together. No, no, no, no, no, no. You smell it. I got to stop you right there, Sienna. Why? Because you just said when you wake up in the morning, you all want to. Not all. Not all. Not everybody is. Then maybe you should just stay home. Maybe just don't go show up. No, because I want to see you. I want to see you. Oh, for 10 minutes. No, no, no. 10 minutes. Have they ever come over for 10 minutes and said, hey, guys, good to see you. We're going to.
Kick back to Coronado now. We're going to go back to Hotel Del. It's the same people that they come and visit and they're going to go, we're going to go to see a movie for a couple hours. Have fun. Really? You're going to go see a movie now? Have fun. You can see a movie anytime. 570-1949. Now, I have three older brothers. In our family, this happens. My brother Mark and I, on Christmas Day, that's when movies, a lot of movies come out on Christmas Day. We want to go see the big blockbuster that comes out on Christmas Day. And we have the brothers that are like, you can see a movie anytime you want. Why do you have to see a movie? Why do you have to see it on Christmas Day? Because it's their thing. It's their tradition. I totally am on board with that. That's their tradition. It's not your tradition when you've had a tradition with your family for years before that and you broke it. Well, wait a minute. For me and Mark, it isn't a tradition. It's not a tradition. We want to go see a movie. They like it. They enjoy it. Selfish. We want to go see a movie. Very selfish. Wait a minute. I could say the same thing about you. Exactly. I want to hang with the family. You want to be with each other? Make a big dinner for you and maybe play some board games. Let's spin it. Let me spin it back. Spin away. Let me spin it this way. So let me get this straight. You're going to impose your lifestyle on me and Mark. It's not our lifestyle. It's a family holiday. Yeah, but you're imposing your...
will on us. Okay, fine. So if you want to spend your Christmas Day at the movie theater when it's supposed to be a family holiday, then we'll have another day that will make up to be a family. So you can have your Christmas alone, and then the next day is Family Day. The 26th. Why? Take your pick. Well, Mikey doesn't leave and go to the movies for, it's a two-hour movie. It's a two-hour movie. You do the presents, you do the bit, then you go see the movie. Well, CNNJ. Let me take a pen out and a piece of paper. The old L.O.B. And let me write down the rules of exactly how many hours constitutes, you know, like what time am I allowed to come over and what time am I allowed to leave? I'll tell you. Okay. When you know your family's ritual and what you do on a holiday, if you decide to go to a movie during that time, you're breaking the rules. Oh, wow. Yeah. I don't agree with you. Jay's saying that people can leave and go to the hotel. Okay, Sienna lives in the same city as her family. She has a baby now. When she's done with the festivities this Christmas, she's going to go back to her house. She's not going to sleep over her parents' house and stay up and play games and stay up drinking. What's the difference? I don't have a room or a place to stay at my parents' house.
But why would you? Okay, let's say you did. But the person in the email said that there's plenty of room or whatever. Well, let's say that there was room over at your mom's. Would you still? You'd go home. You'd go home. So guess what? Maddie, for this Christmas, she's coming over. She's staying the night. Good for her. I've done that, too, since I moved out. But now that I don't know. She has a family. Christmas Day, you're going to be at your house come 9 o'clock that night. I have a question, Jay. Okay. Ready? Okay. When Maddie gets married. Yes. Has a baby. Okay. Are you going to be mad? If her husband doesn't want to stay overnight. Okay, here's the difference. Here's the difference then. Okay, I see what you're going for. If she lives in town and I see her all the time, absolutely go home. Yes, thank you. That's a good point. If she lives... In Denver. In Denver, and she's flying here. I hope she doesn't fly here for the day and then fly home. If she flies here, I want to take every single ounce of time I can possibly spend with her and her family and then let her go. Crushing. She flies in from Denver, calls you up, says, Dad, you know, husband and baby, we're coming out. We're going to be staying at blah, blah, blah, you know, resort. Is that cool? No way. Family stays with family. She would never do that. Family stays with family. How about this? His daughter flies in from Denver. The walls are really thin. Jay snores. Jasper wakes up. Dirty mind. It'd be the other way around.
Anyway, anyway, I'm just saying Maybe they have a special diet. Any number of things where they would be more comfortable in their own terms. Really? This is my family we're talking about. They shouldn't be vilified. There's another point. There's another point, too. Christmas vacation is a vacation. And when a guy or a girl or a woman works hard all year, they want things the way that they want them. And, like, we're not going home for Christmas this year. I bet you guys think I'm a monster. You know why we're not going? I don't want to. I don't want to travel on Christmas freaking day. I don't blame you. And I see your point. All of your points. And I understand why you may want to stay in a hotel. But I just think family is important. Family is important. And...
Family stays with family. It doesn't matter where you sleep, in my opinion. I'm with you. If you're more comfortable in the beds in a hotel and you have the money, have at it. Bed bugs there. So, Jay. Hotels. Bed bugs. If Maddie said that her and her family were going to stay at another place, what would your reaction be? I would. I mean, first off, my daughter, no way. We've built family into it. Her new husband. Her husband. Let's say her new husband. He's got money. She's not going to marry that guy. If she does, I want to stay at the Hotel Del. Because Maddie would lay into him and say, there's no way we're staying anywhere else. Because that's just who they are. But let's just say in a weird, crazy world that that's what's going on, I'd light her up. Really? Absolutely. She'd light her up. I'd light her up. I'm like, really? I can relate, man. You don't want to stay with us? My mom would kill me if I did not stay with them. There's no way. I can relate. I've had it in my family, too. But let's say that his family lives here in town, too. If they said, okay, we're going to stay a night here, and then we're going to stay a night there, I'd be absolutely... Oh, my gosh. So pack it all up and stay at one place? I'm saying if they wanted to do that, if they wanted to do that... What if they only stayed at his place and not yours? They wouldn't do that. But what if they did? They wouldn't. M1 Bug from Rancho Bernardo? Hey. Go ahead. Well, I have this issue where...
Both our families are from Minnesota, and we go back every year. And they never come out and visit us, but we always have to go back there and use our vacation time to go back and visit them. But every time we go back, we have to stay with his mother. But his mother's house is mold-infested, mothball-infested, filthy, and I get physically ill. I mean, like, I have asthma, and I get physically ill in their house. One year we tried to stay in a hotel, and it became... like a war now in that situation i mean what am i supposed to do say i'm sorry your house is filthy no you can't say that i know and she's trying to spare her feelings yeah you can't say that but you know listen i like i said so we started out i think that everybody's different everybody's got their their bit you know i like the privacy yes me too and comfort yeah Should be comfortable. Jay would tell this caller, it's the holidays, time to buck up. No, make yourself sick. Why don't you just be honest with me and I'll have the room cleaned really good for you. What if you have a cat and they're allergic to cats or something? I'll put it down. I'll put it down. Jay really wants people in his house for Christmas. Oh my gosh. Jay, oh my gosh. I would love to stay at your house, Jay. You're welcome anytime. This is the little girl.
from the movie Love Actually. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So great. Sounds like Mariah Carey. It's her song. Oh, there you go. When we get back, we have a would you rather, and I'm actually going to give it to you now so that you can call in with it and everybody here in the studio can be thinking about this too. Would you rather stay in a house with a known creepy killer. It's not known that I'm a killer. Or survive in the desert for three days, no provisions. 570-1949. Make some noise in the studio. Welcome back and make some noise in the studio audience. Wood says that he was not going to go home for Christmas this year. Yeah. Right? Yeah. We'll tell you all about that in just a second. And then here is the would-you-rather question. Would you rather stay in a house with a known killer or survive in the desert for three days overnight? All right, so that would be one night. 24 hours, right? Well, overnight. You've got to stay in this house overnight with a known killer or survive in the desert for three days with no provisions. 570-1949 to answer that question.
Sienna, what's going on in news? Big story right now. A man from Santee, 22 years old. His name is Bryson Lukasik, I'm sorry if I mispronounced it. From Santee, he went up to Big Bear for Thanksgiving with his dad and his dad's girlfriend. Has gone missing in Big Bear. There's a search for him everywhere. He had got into a collision on skis earlier the day of Thanksgiving. Came home, was a little disoriented, had a bump on his head. And then later that night, left the house and no one's seen him since. That's terrible. I mean, he's just disappeared, so everyone's looking for him. I mean, just a crazy story. 22 years old from Santee, like I said. Also, the top baby names of 2010. Number one girl's name, Sophia. Isabella finally got knocked off the list. Sorry, Woods. We were going to name our Sophia. Why not? Not anymore. It's number one. That's okay. Sophia, Isabella, Olivia, Emma, Chloe, Ava, Lily, Madison, Addison, and Abigail. Those are the top ten. Love Abigail. Me too. That's Adele's little girl's name. It's beautiful. The top ten boys' names of 2010. I'm going to start with number ten. Liam, Lucas, Caden, Logan, Noah, Jaden, Ethan, Jackson, Jacob, and the number one boys' name is Aiden. Good. Not on that list. There you go. I said Trent's pal. I don't follow him, okay?
Okay. All right. Make a note of that. Okay. So put that in my pipe and smoke it. What's going on in sports? Put that in your pipe and smoke it. That's what I said. That's what he said. Isn't that going here? It is. The San Francisco Giants. surprised me and probably everybody else that watched the World Series yesterday by re-signing Pat Burrell to a one-year deal. Pat Burrell was, let's see, he struck out 11 times in the World Series. He was 0 for 13 with 11 strikes out. Not a real clutch player. And then the Chicago White Sox made a huge deal yesterday signing Adam Dunn to a $56 million contract over four years. He is a ball player. Hi, this is Bean Dean. It's with this little doggy. My dog, Senior Beans. Yeah, I was calling you because I was listening to you on the radio talking about whether or not you should go away on the holiday. Not forever. For Christmas. Not forever. And you believe that you should not do this? I do think that, kind of. Pero, I have to tell you that I have met a girl, dog.
Okay. And we're not going to spend Christmas this year with you, Papi. Oh, really? She has the family in a DJ. Okay. Is she a chihuahua? She is a chihuahua. Oh, beautiful. But she said to me... He said, you know, you have to make a decision whether you are my boyfriend or his dog. Oh, my God. Wow. See, we lost on that deal. Beansy, that's not the right dog for you then. I could be. Hey, listen, you got to do what you got to do to close this. You're not going to get mad at him for not staying in your house? You're a chip off the old block. You got my blessing. You're welcome. What about Mama Yamey? She'll be okay. We got five other ones, four other ones. Oh, you forget so soon, eh? No, no, I love you. So you're easily replaceable is what he's saying. You're not replaceable, but you're growing up, and it's time that you need to get out and close some biz, and I'm proud of you. Yeah, get some. Yeah, get some. Get some. As Uncle Ye says. I have to get my doggy on. Yeah, you need to. Doggy style. Do your style. Do you want me to bring you something when I get home?
How about bacon? Baby pork chops? What about flank steak? Can't you just see? I can just see you right now, Beansy. Little Yorkie just wagging your tail as fast as possible. Okay, I'll go pee on something. Weird. It's my life now. Does he do that? Yes. It's awesome. I love when your house smells like urine when you get home. It's great. By the way, tonight's 8 o'clock album, Patti Smith. Horses is the name of the album. All right. Let's do this. We're giving you two choices, and both of them are bad. Would you rather step on a nail or get kicked in the naps? Would you rather? All right, so the question is, would you rather stay in a house with a known killer overnight? Now, you don't know what's going to happen. How uncomfortable would that be? You've got to deal with the fear because you don't know what's going to happen. You're sitting there in that room and you're just every single little noise that you hear is going to terrify you. It's easy for me. Well, of course, I know that. I know that it's easy for you, Jay. So I've made a special one for you because. Oh, an addendum. Yeah, an addendum.
Because if it were Jay, he would spend three days in a desert with no provisions for fun. He does it anyway. We'll do that this weekend. And so for you, Jay, it would be, would you rather stay in a house overnight with a known killer or have advertised in the UT that Jay from the Mikey show is going to be performing as a mall singer at UTC? Oh, my God. I have a huge fear of singing. I can speak. It's singing. It scares me. Can't you? Can't speak. Gosh, put me with the killer. Would you? Oh, for sure. There's no way. Instead of singing at the mall. I don't want to sing in the mall. No way. Dude. I mean, for any of us, that's a no-brainer. You're like, I'll sing. Sing, yeah. It's embarrassing, but I don't want to stay in the house. I mean, I'll sing like that, but seriously, with a mic and just me out there? Yeah. Kill me now. On like a big stage. No way. You know, right in the center court. Negative. Oh, my gosh.
force Jay to go to Fashion Valley and sing a song in front of everybody and record it. If he loses, let's make some sort of bet. And make sure he loses. You guys need to shut up. Then no, I love singing in public. In a megaphone. In a megaphone. Yeah. Silent night. Yeah. In a toga. Silent night. Holy night. All's quiet. All's quiet. All is quiet. All is quiet. All is quiet. Round. Hey, there's a virgin. Round. Oh, a virgin. A virgin. Ooh, a virgin. Sit on my lap. Sit on my lap. Not anymore. Show me your boobs. Show me your boobs. Let's take some phone calls. M1, Neil from OB, which would you do? Oh, I would definitely spend a night in the house with a killer. What? Agreed. I would, too. Why? Because, like, you know, you can defend yourself versus a killer. When you're in the desert, you're all alone, no food, anything like that. You're just like, yeah, you got nothing you can do. I can't defend myself. I would be armed to the teeth. There could be wild animals. Not everybody can defend themselves. And they can't. Oh. I'd go like this. Put this in perspective, right? You're locked in the room, right? Or you're in the room. You're not locked. He's in the other room. Yeah. You sit. You lean against the wall. In the corner. And you just stare at the wall for eight hours. Yeah.
Or you don't like to be uncomfortable and you don't like to be hot and sweaty and you don't like to be thirsty or hungry. We know that. So you're out in the desert for 72 hours. You got to weigh eight and 72 of uncomfortableness. Death or live. Death or death. Still, bro. If you don't eat or anything in three days, you may die. You can drink. You can provide your own fluid. I could provide my own fluid. Would you? Yeah. Yeah. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Yeah, but what if there's animals there? Every girlfriend I've ever dated has said that at one time or another. M1 Katie from La Jolla. Definitely the desert. The desert? I'm with you. You are LLB? Heck yeah. I'll take the killer. I'll take the killer. Oh my, never. I would probably go mad. Go mad. Just knowing there was a killer in the house of me. L-O-B. I mean, Sienna, does it change it for you? If it's like, what if he's like a crazy... You're not sure, but you've heard rumors. He's a rapist killer. You don't know. You don't know. Sienna would rip his throat out. Yeah, she'd rip his throat out. She's tough. She checked me into the wall yesterday. I did. She's like Eric Lindros. He did do it. Hey, shut up. You're such a tattletale. Hey, you. Nobody will know. Nobody will know.
Go ahead. Yeah, you just said it on the radio. What radio? Katie? You're such a title to it. Katie? Yeah. So you would stay in the desert? Oh, yeah. Me versus the desert. Me versus some killer. Imagine, oh, you're tired. You're not alone. Oh, my God. No way. All that means is you're eating that night. Yeah. They're eating you. They want things smaller than them. Yeah, we'd have coyote. Coyotes go out to things smaller than them. You know what's on the desert floor? Scorpions. Scorpions. Snakes. All kinds of snakes. I'll take my chances. I'll give you the killer. Give me Richard Ramirez, the Night Stalker. What if he had to stay in a house where he's at? That's a little different. He's the scariest mofo of all time. Yeah. Period. Period. I would rather hold hands with Charles Manson than hang out with Richard Ramirez. I've never seen anything scarier than that dude. Yeah, I mean. Charles Manson didn't technically kill him. I'd take the desert. You would not. I would. Yeah, absolutely. I would. I wouldn't want to deal with the fear of Creepozoid. You may be sitting in a room with a killer right now. Did that just blow your mind? Did I just blow your mind? Mike, sit back down. I'm serious. I'm serious. Hey, I'm serious. I just blew his mind. But the difference was a known killer. She's like, it's me, it's me. You want to answer it? Okay, come over the microphone. Go to that mic.
What would you do? First of all, tell everybody your M1 name. I'm M1 Taytay. There you go. What would you do? And I would definitely stay with the killer overnight. You don't know what kind of killer he is, but I would try to, you know, say hi. and be like, hey, what's up? Check out these Tay-Tays. If he tried to come attack me, you just kick him where the stuff goes. If a killer came up to me, I'd be like, my name is Sienna Farrar, I'm 25 years old, I was born on this day, my mom does this, my sister. How do you kill someone when you know everything about them? I have a baby. I mean, I would say everything. You guys, do you think that this has never been tried with killers? That's why they're killers. It's Ada. The way I look at it is it's Ada. 10 hours of uncomfortableness against 72, and I'm going to go for the eight. But the desert won't kill you. It might. It can, though. It can. I'm going to have a snake bite to your throat. In fact, the chances are really high. They say that you have to drink something like six to eight pints of water a day in the desert. That's a lot of water to find. Yeah. And now...
You know, as long as you've got the right guide, you could actually do it. Right. But if it was you left to your own devices, Mike Esparza, or me, Steve Woods, left to his own devices. I know how to do it. I've watched Bear Grylls. You don't want to drink your own fluids. I smell a challenge. I could start a fire. Can you? Yeah, I could start a fire. In fact, I almost started a fire one time with Jay, and it was raining outside, and I still got close. What? Why are we you guys? Where were we? In the back parking lot? Yeah, we were in a parking lot. That's the old radio station. Yeah, the old radio station. You can almost start a fire? Yeah. I'm impressed. If it wasn't raining outside, it would have happened. With a stick and a rock? It was two sticks. It was with a big Bic lighter, but yeah, I damn near got it. It was a board and a stick and some kindling. Kindling. 57019. I'm almost impressed. 194.9. Let's see. M1, Steven from Vista. Hey, how's it going, guys? Good. Hey, so I'm thinking that you guys might be for looking the whole, like, in the hot days in the desert and at night, you have to worry about hypothermia. You guys are, it's like you're only thinking about, like, food and water. Oh, no, I thought about all of it. That sounds fabulous. Yeah, me too. Hypothermia. Well, the...
You could call it a cactus. Maybe a coyote. Gym gum. Crawl into a coyote. Make a coyote suit. Find a tauntaun, Mike. Cut it open and sleep inside a tauntaun. But you don't have a knife. What are you going to cut open with your fingernails? You got nothing. Sure up in a rock. Hey, here's the other thing, Sienna. If you choose killer sauce, even if he doesn't do anything. Psychologically? Psychologically, I'll be fine. I would go mad. I'd be doing the same thing in the desert, but for three times as long. No, but there's no killer out there. Nine times as long. Yeah, but there's no killer out there. How do you know there could be? Coyotes, rattlesnakes, the sun, the cold, no water, no food. Could you order anything from Acme while you're out in the desert? I don't think Amazon actually works out there. No, they don't deliver. If they did, then yeah. I would order a helicopter. Aren't there usually little pay phones on the side of the road in the desert there that just pop up and you just call Acme? Yeah, you just call and say, hey, this is where I am. Here are my coordinates. You guys excited to see that movie about the dude that falls into the crevice and has to cut off his own arm? Yes and no. Yes and no. Looks so good. Yes and no. 172 hours? Yeah, why no? Because it's going to skeeve me out watching him hack off his arm with a Swiss Army. Don't watch that part.
Woods is not good with, like, gore. No way. Al Gore? I like Frank Gore, but I don't like... No, Tipper. I don't like Tipper Gore. What do you think Kim Kardashian is looking for in a man? Big hands? Nubian prince? Yes! Coming up at 9 o'clock, we got Clint Hill and Jerry Blaine. These are, after 47 years, a couple of Secret Service agents that were there that day with Kennedy. It's coming up. Welcome back to The Mikey Show. It's a special morning. I have a couple of guests in the studio this morning that it's an honor to be able to speak to. I'm talking about Jerry Blaine and Clint Hill. They are former United States Secret Service agents. Warm round of applause, please, for these gentlemen that came in this morning and are going to spend some time with us.
It's great to have you guys in here. So thank you both for coming in here this morning. I appreciate it. Thank you. Jerry has been somebody that we have seen in the past in various interviews and things like that. But this, after a number of years, 47 years, Clint is just starting to talk about the events that happened that day in Dallas. Is that correct, Clint? That's correct. For the first time, I've revealed in depth. That's what I know about what happened in Dallas in 1963. Now, you were both assigned to that motorcade, and I believe, Clint, you were assigned to Mrs. Kennedy? That was my responsibility, Mrs. Kennedy. Okay, and how about you, Jerry? Well, I was on the midnight shift the previous night, and I had flown to Austin, so I was not in Dallas. You were not there that day? Not there that day. Okay. Well, Clint, I guess, you know, I want to start with you and ask you a little bit about just sort of how that day started for you and what you remember about that day starting for you. It started over in Fort Worth. We spent the night of the 21st in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Texas Hotel. And there were some functions there, including a breakfast that the president attended.
And Mrs. Kennedy finally went into the breakfast. Then we drove out to the air base there in Fort Worth, flew over to Love Field in Dallas. There was a large crowd there at the airport, about 5,000 people to meet them. President Kennedy went in and shook the hands of the people. Mrs. Kennedy accompanied them, which is very unusual for her. Then we joined the motorcade and began driving into the city of Dallas. Now, Jerry Blaine, who is with us as well. You know, Jerry, you said that you were in Austin at the time that this happened? In Austin, we rotated shifts every two weeks. And I had completed an advance in Tampa, Florida, and was supposed to go to Dallas to help out there. But one of the agents had been dating a Braniff Airlines stewardess. So I said... Be my guest because I'd been on about three advances in a row. Right. And it could have been that easy. I mean, it would have just had that not been the case. You may have very well been there. Now, talk to me a little bit about the Secret Service. And I'm sure that maybe there's still things that you're not allowed to say in terms of what your life is like as a Secret Service agent. Or are you allowed to speak about...
certain areas of security and how it worked because one of the things that I remember was being young and when President Reagan was shot and sort of the immediacy of how armed these Secret Service agents were. In other words, they look like guys that are just wearing suits, but when someone is shot, you see automatic weapons come out. You don't know where they were even carrying them, but they come out. And you're just sort of shocked, like, wow, you know, these guys are really... Same deal with you guys back in those days? Well, it was the evolution of security. You know, once you lose a person to a sniper in a window, people start to listen to you. Before that time, there had not been an attempt until Harry Truman... the assassination at the Blair House, they doubled the number of agents to the same number that we had on the Kennedy detail. And President Eisenhower had no threat against him, nor any attempt. So until President Kennedy came on, there had been no attempt or assassination attempt on him. Clint, you were there that day. We'll pick up again from Love Field.
Love Field, you joined the motorcade. You're headed into the city of Dallas. We drove into the city of Dallas, a lot of side streets. Wasn't too large a crowd along the way, but some school children and some Catholic nuns and sisters. And anytime there was a group like that, the president would make a stop so he could shake their hands. We got to Main Street in downtown Dallas, and that's where the large crowd was. They were 10 deep and then 15 deep and then 20 deep on each side of the street. spilled over into the street. And I had been told that the president didn't want us up in the back of the car because he didn't want it to appear that there was anything between him and the people. And so at the beginning of Main Street, there wasn't anybody in the back of the car. But as we progressed down the street, the driver kept the car to the left-hand side to keep the president away from the crowd on the right. He was sitting in the right rear. Mrs. Kennedy was in the left rear. This put her in jeopardy, so I would get up on the back of the car. And I did that five or six times down Main Street, and nothing was said. Now, when you say that, you mean to say that they had told you that the president didn't want anybody on the back of the car, but you were violating that to protect the First Lady? Well, that's correct, but I didn't consider it a violation. I considered it my job. Right, right, right. So when we got to the end of Main Street, we had noticed down Main Street, all the windows in the buildings had been opened, and people were on rooftops and on balconies.
He was giving the president a very, very wonderful reception. We got down to Houston Street, which is the end of Main Street, and turned right. When we did that, the crowd really dropped off. And we noticed there was a building immediately in front of us. It was a large red building. It turned out to be the Texas School Book Depository. The windows were open in that building as well, but we didn't see anything unusual there. Now, let's back up a little bit. As you were coming out to begin... through the city, and you're saying that, you know, you see the crowds are beginning to get bigger and bigger. As a Secret Service agent, how is that making you feel? Are you okay with it? Because up to this point, there hadn't been any tragedy. So are you thinking, eh, this is par for the course? Well, we're never okay with it. But we adjust to it, and we realize this is a situation we're confronted with, and we just have to do the best we can. So it's just a matter of accepting what exists. and doing what you can to protect him during that period of time. And that's what we did is we went down Main Street in Dallas. Okay, now you say that about five or six times you decided to get onto the trunk of the car to protect the First Lady. Correct. What would make you get off? What would make you get on?
Well, if I saw anything real dangerous, I'd get on. Or if I saw that she was being placed in jeopardy because she was too close to the crowd and left, then I would get on. But when they moved to a different situation, then I'd drop back to give them the... the sense that there was nobody between them and the people. Okay, and at this point, you're walking alongside the vehicle because the car's going slow enough that you can kind of keep up with a walking pace. Well, we didn't walk beside the car there on Main Street in Dallas because we had motorcycle outriders along each side of the car, and they were trying to keep the crowd back. But because the driver kept going to the left, the outrider on the left-hand side had to drop off. That's one of the reasons I got up on the car. is that the motorcycle police officer had to drop back, so he couldn't keep the people that far away from the car on the left. Okay. But you're on foot, though? Well, I'm on foot going between the two cars, but I'm either riding in the follow-up car or I'm on top of the rear step in the left rear of the presidential vehicle. Got it, got it. Okay, so you see this red building. It turns out to be later. It turns out to be the book.
Depository. Yeah, the school book depository. Now, you're driving through, you see the windows open, and if I remember correctly, you make a left? You made a left-hand turn out of Elm Street. Okay. It was more than a 90-degree turn, and this is a big car, so the driver had to slow down very much to make that turn. When he straightened out, he began to accelerate. We hadn't gone very far down Elm Street. And I was still in the follow-up car, and I heard an explosive noise from my right rear. It was kind of an elevated position. And I had been scanning to the left where there was a grassy area and where some people were, but not very many. When I heard that noise, my immediate reaction was to scan from my left back to my right toward that noise. When I did that, my vision took me across the back of the presidential vehicle, and I saw the president grab at his throat, lurch to his left, and I knew something was wrong. So I jumped off the follow-up car. Ran toward the presidential vehicle in an attempt to get up on top of the presidential vehicle to place myself between the president, Mrs. Kennedy, and whoever was shooting at them. Okay. And at that point, that was one explosion that you'd heard. That was the first shot that was fired. Okay. And we also know that the governor of Texas was sitting in the front seat, correct? He was sitting immediately in front of the president. Okay. And so at that first shot...
Do you have any recollection of him and his mannerism and his movement? Because he was shot as well. The bullet, if I remember correctly, the bullet went through President Kennedy and went into the back of the front seat. Well, that is a matter of opinion. Yeah. That's never been proven. Okay. In fact, I have a different version, and so does Mrs. Connolly, and she was sitting next to him. Okay. When I jumped and ran, I didn't hear the second shot because I was running. Okay. But by the time the third shot appeared, I was very close to the rear of the presidential car, trying to get on, and I heard the shot, and I felt it because it hit the president in the head to the upper rear of the right ear, and it left a hole so that brain matter and blood and bone fragments were spewing out of that wound, and they went across the trunk, across me, across Mrs. Kennedy, so we were covered in that type of material. About that time, Mrs. Kennedy came up off the... out of her seat onto the trunk. She was trying to reach something that came off the president's head to the right rear. She didn't know I was there. I got up on the trunk of the car and pushed her back into the seat. When I did that, the president fell to his left into her lap, and his head was exposed to the right side of his head. I could see there was a hole in the skull about the size of my palm, and most of the brain matter in that area had been removed. It was blood and brain and bone fragments throughout the entire rear of the car.
I noticed that his eyes were fixed. I assumed that it was a fatal wound. I turned and gave a thumbs down signal to the guys in the follow up car to tell him we were in a dire situation. Wow. Wow. Unbelievable. Now, as this happens, your detail, obviously, as you said before, your detail is Jackie. She is here to protect the first lady. Well, that was my primary responsibility, but the overall responsibility is to protect the president. Right. And so we know that Jackie made her way onto the trunk of the car at one point. How did that happen, and what was happening then? Well, she thought that she saw something coming off the president's head to the right rear of the car, and she was trying to retrieve that. It was material from his skull. Right. And she didn't know I was there. By the time I got up in the car and pushed her back into the seat, then the president fell to his left. But she never did reach the material that came off the back of the car. This is something that I would never know unless I were able to ask you not only a man that was there, but a man that was aiding in protecting Mrs. Kennedy and Mr. Kennedy. Talking to Clint Hill, 47 years after the death of President Kennedy, is just now beginning to talk about this.
So the question is the reaction from the crowd. Obviously, at this point, there's so much confusion and so much that people don't know. Is the reaction dispersing everybody screaming and running away or is or are they not making any noise because they really don't know what's happened? Well, I didn't hear any noise. I was really distracted by what was going on. But if you watch a certain number of the films that were taken that day, you'll see that the group of people on what they call the grassy knoll, after the first shot, all turned and looked back at the school book depository, indicating that's where they know the shot came from. Some of the reaction was to run away. Some of it was to fall down. But all of it was to turn back toward the school book depository. So when Mrs. Kennedy came out onto the trunk and you you then push her back into the vehicle, is that when the vehicle who gives the order to the driver? Let's go. You know, we're going to Parkland. It was automatic response on the part of the driver. He hit the accelerator. In fact, he hit it just as I was trying to get up on the trunk and I slipped and I had to run an extra five or six steps before I get back up there. And.
But then the agent in charge in the right front seat of the car was calling, get us to a hospital. We got up, we went past the lead car, which was being driven by Chief Curry, the chief of police in Dallas. And it was occupied also by the advance agent, Wayne Lawson. And we were screaming at him, get us to a hospital, which he did. He got to his car in front of ours, took us to Parkland Hospital. Governor Connolly, do you remember any interaction with him on the way to the hospital? I didn't know he'd been hit at first. Halfway to the hospital, he kind of raised up a little bit, and I could see the front of his body, front of his shirt, was all covered in blood. So I knew that he had also been shot. What about Mrs. Connolly? Are you asking, are you okay? Have you been hit? What's the mood? like in the car? What are the questions that are being asked in the car? After we got going, nobody said anything. Mrs. Connelly was trying to help her husband. Mrs. Kennedy was holding the president in her lap. I was placing myself as high up as I could above them to the rear to prevent any more shooting going into the car and hitting the occupants. Do you remember arriving at Parkland or is all that a blur? No, I remember that very much so. We arrived.
The advance agent jumped out of the car because nobody was there to meet us. We expected to have gurneys there when we got there, but it wasn't anybody. And he ran into the emergency room. There was an attendant trying to bring out two gurneys by himself. The agent helped him bring the gurneys out to the car. When he got to the car, we had a problem of getting the governor out first because he was seated in a jump seat immediately in front of the president. The governor tried to help us get him out himself. He was really trying. We lifted him out, put him on a gurney. Mrs. Connolly followed. They raced into the emergency room. Then we folded the jump seats forward, and we're going to remove the president from the car. Mrs. Kennedy wouldn't let go of the body. So I realized that what her problem was, she didn't want anybody to see the condition he was in. So I took off my coat. I threw it over his head and his upper torso. Then she let go of the body. We lifted him out, put him on the gurney, and raced into the emergency room. What dignity. I mean, just incredible, especially in light of what was going on. The fact that she had the wherewithal and that kind of dignity for her husband and for the situation in that moment. She was in a state of shock, but she was reacting just like she just didn't want anybody to know what it was. Like any wife. Yes, very much so. Like any wife. And so you go inside, and what do you remember about getting inside?
We got into the emergency room, and the doctors started arriving, and eventually I think there were a total of 10 or 12 in the emergency room. Mrs. Kennedy was in there for a while. Governor Connolly was in an emergency room right across a little hallway with other doctors and Mrs. Connolly. Then we got Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Connolly to sit in the area between the two. About this time, my supervisor yelled at me, get the White House on the phone. So I grabbed the phone and dialed what was then the Dallas White House. Everywhere we traveled, they set up a special switchboard, and this was called the Dallas White House. I got to the Dallas White House, told them to connect me to Washington, to the White House, and to leave the line open. And I tried to explain then to my supervisor in Washington what had happened. About that time, Mr. Kellerman wanted the phone, so I gave him the phone. He started to talk to the people in Washington. Then a doctor come running out of the emergency room and said, he's breathing. So Mrs. Kennedy ran back into the emergency room. Mr. Kellerman ran back into the emergency room. They threw me the phone. About that time, the operator cut in on the phone line and said, Attorney General Robert Kennedy wants to talk to Agent Hill. I said, this is Agent Hill. And he said, Clint, he said, what happened? So I started to explain that the governor had been shot, that the president had been shot, and what was the situation. He then said to me, he said, how bad is it?
And I didn't want to tell him that his brother was dead. So I simply said, it's as bad as it can get. So he hung up the phone. Then I began to talk to the agent supervisor in Washington. About that time, they came back out of the emergency room. It was strictly a reflex action on the part of the president. He was not breathing. Were you with Mrs. Kennedy at that time? I was on the phone adjacent to her. Another agent was right by her side. Now you... You're assigned to protect her, so my guess is that over a period of time, you have to get to know her, and you know her pretty well. Is there ever a moment where you're able to comfort, I guess, somebody that you just see that needs to be comforted, or do you have to maintain a sort of, I don't know, a level of professionalism that won't allow you to do that? She and I had a very close personal relationship. It was very professional. She always referred to me as Mr. Hill, and I always called her Mrs. Kennedy. But I did attempt to console her as best I could during that period of time after that day and the next four days, including the next year, because they kept me with her and the children for a year after the assassination. What do you say? Well, she and I really never did talk about the assassination. That was really never brought up. That was never discussed.
I was prepared to discuss it if she wanted to, but she never did. My goodness. And what do you remember about the events right after Parkland? You left Parkland, and I'm assuming left with her, and I know that President Johnson was sworn in, I believe, that very day, wasn't he? Yes, he was, but we had a problem regarding Parkland. The agents had taken President Johnson and secured him at Parkland. We wanted... Johnson to leave Dallas right then and there, get on Air Force One and fly it back to Washington. He refused to leave without Mrs. Kennedy. Mrs. Kennedy refused to leave without the body. There was a law in the state of Texas that said you cannot take a homicide victim out of the state of Texas until there's an autopsy, which meant we had to wait for an autopsy. So this began a heated argument between members of Kennedy's staff, supervisors from the Secret Service. and Texas state officials. Were you involved in that? I was more or less just a bystander listening. Because I'm assuming your supervisor was probably... Yes, he was. Yeah. So it finally got to the point where we decided we're leaving anyway. We had called in some judges to see what could be done. We thought because he was president of the United States, we could take him back to the nation's capital since he was president of all the people. But the state law was...
what it was, and they were actually right. It was their law. But finally, when we decided we were going to go anyway, they said, okay, you can go provide it. You provide somebody with medical experience to remain with the body all the way through the autopsy. I said, we've got the right guy for the job, Admiral George Berkeley. He's the president's physician. He will remain with the body. And so I had obtained a casket at the request of Kenny O'Donnell and Dave Powers, the president's staff. and had that casket delivered to Parkland Hospital. Placed the body of the president in the casket, took it out, put it in the hearse, put Admiral Berkeley in the back of the hearse with the body and the casket. Then I said to Mrs. Kennedy, let's ride in this car here behind it. And she said, no, I'm going to get in the back with the president's body. So I let her into the back of the hearse and I crawled in after her. So there were three of us in the back of the hearse with the casket. You know, again, she's in shock at this point. But did you, during that period of time, see her at any point? Did it hit her, what had happened? Well, it hit her with what had happened, but she was never sobbing. She was teary-eyed, but then it was obviously that she was in a state of shock. Right. So you get on in, they take the hearse. Well, we went to Love Field where Air Force One was standing by, and we unloaded the casket out of the hearse, took it up the rear steps of the Air Force One to put in the rear door.
We got to the rear door. We had a problem. The casket was too wide to go into the aircraft. So we broke the handles off the casket to get it into the aircraft, placed the casket in the rear aft portion of the aircraft, and Mrs. Kennedy, Admiral Berkeley, and I had assigned an agent, Dick Johnson, to stay with the casket all the way through our trip to Washington, D.C. That had to have been a long, long flight. I mean, it's, in reality, not much of a long flight, but it had to have been. a long flight. Were you sitting with Mrs. Kennedy during that time? She was sitting in the rear portion of the aircraft where the casket was located. I was sitting in the forward portion of the aircraft. One of the things that did happen was Vice President Johnson had conferred with Washington, with the Attorney General, with members of the Supreme Court about whether or not he should take the oath. And they all said he had to take the oath in Dallas before we took off. Oh, wow. So we had to locate a federal judge to administer that oath. They located Sarah Hughes. She came aboard and was about to swear in President Johnson. I got word I was in the forward part of the aircraft. Mrs. Kennedy wanted to see me. So I went to the rear portion, and she reached out her hand, and she simply said, what's going to happen to you now, Mr. Hill? I said, I'll be okay, Mrs. Kennedy. And so she was more concerned about the well-being of myself and other agents at that particular time, which was just the kind of person she was.
So then the swearing-in took place, and then we took off for Washington, and it was, like you said, an extremely quiet flight. Nobody said a word all the way back to Washington. So where do you land in Washington? We arrived at Andrews Air Force Base outside of Washington. The decision had been made that the autopsy would take place at Bethesda Naval Hospital since he had been a naval officer. The Navy had placed an ambulance there at Andrews for transporting the casket. They offloaded the casket. The agents offloaded it, placed it in the ambulance. The attorney general, the president's brother, had arrived. So he and Mrs. Kennedy got in the back of the ambulance with the casket. I got in the car immediately behind the ambulance to accompany them to Bethesda Naval Hospital. When we got to Bethesda Naval Hospital, the body of the president was taken to the autopsy room accompanied by...
Agents Kellerman and Greer and Admiral Berkley. And I, along with Agent Landis, took Mrs. Kennedy to a presidential suite in the towers at Bethesda. So you were with her that whole time. Is she asking questions of people? Because I would think that wife at that point would just want any information that she could possibly get, even though he's no longer alive. Is she asking questions? Is she quiet? What was her disposition at that point? Well, she was still in a state of shock, but then friends began to arrive at the hospital, members of her family and friends. And so we let her be alone with these people in a suite, and we secured the area. And about 2 in the morning, I got a call saying they wanted me in the autopsy room. So I went down to the autopsy room, and they decided that it would best if I was briefed by the doctors doing the autopsy so that I could have a description of exactly the condition of the body. entrance and exit wounds were so that if Mrs. Kennedy ever asked a question, I'd be the one to answer. That's amazing. Amazing. We're talking to Jerry Blaine and Clint Hill. Clint was there that day guarding the First Lady the day that President Kennedy was shot. And he is speaking now after 47 years. He's speaking about the events of that day. And we will have more with both of them when we come back.
They will both be at Warwick's in La Jolla tonight at 730. And they're going to be signing copies of a new book that is out called The Kennedy Detail. And it's written by Jerry Blaine with Lisa McCubbin. And we will be back after this. Welcome back. It's a Mikey show and we're talking to Jerry Blaine and Clint Hill, who are both going to be at Warwick's in La Jolla tonight at 730. On the line with us is M1 Stevo. What did you want to say, Stevo? Hey, Mikey. Thank you. About a year after the president was assassinated, I was 11 at the time, my dad got to meet Robert Kennedy and I got to go with him. And we actually got to sit quietly alone with him and talk for a few minutes. My dad, of course, brought up, you know, his brother being shot and all. The three of us sat there and just started crying.
And I hadn't thought about this for probably, you know, a long, long time except for occasional conversation. And I'm driving back to my home and I started bawling like a baby. Yeah. Crying. Listen, I'm 40 years old and I'm not a conspiracy theorist. In fact, I think that those folks are full of baloney. And so I've only had a very peripheral interest in the events of that day. but hearing it from somebody that was there is so powerful, so powerful, no matter who you are. Clint hasn't spoken about it for 47 years, and now after 47 years is able to. And I don't want to assume that that's the deal, Mr. Hill. Why now? Well, I'm not getting any younger, for one thing. And when Jerry came to me with this proposal, I was very apprehensive. I'd been offered the chance to write books. I'd been offered the chance to contribute to books. I had talked to 60 Minutes, National Geographic, and Larry King, but never said anything in depth. It was strictly kind of puffery stuff. And so when he came and said he was going to write this book, I told him I would be willing to consider it if, one, there was no gossip, no salacious material,
It was strictly factual based on the agent's interviews and or documentation. And then I said, provided I could check it for facts before I went to the publisher, then I'd contribute. And he agreed to that. God bless you. That's cool. So the two of you guys have known each other for many years. And do you do you both believe that it was a lone gunman? Absolutely. You do, Jerry. Yes. I always have, too. I mean, all I know of it is what I know of it, but I always have, too. And what leads you to believe that? Okay, let me—we talked before about the magic bullet, the one allegedly that went through the president and hit the governor. There were two agents that were not interviewed by the Warren Commission. One was the driver of the follow-up car, Sam Kinney, whose responsibility was to keep the distance between the two cars four to five feet apart and to keep track of what was going on in the presidential car. The gentleman next to him was the shift leader, Emery Roberts.
Both of those men saw all three bullets find their mark. So they saw the bullets hit. Like Clint saw the first one, Clint took off running. The second one, they saw Governor Conley get hit. The third one, they saw the president, the fatal wound that went through. There is another indicator on this, too, that... Three gentlemen from the book depository were standing below where Oswald was in the book depository. They did not have flooring. They had planking along that area. And as they were standing there, they heard the shot. And dust and dirt fell down from the floor up above, and they heard a clink of the empty casing hit the floor. The second shot. went off. Same thing, dust and dirt fell, the casing hit the floor, and the third shot, the same thing, and the casing hit the floor. The detectives went up later on, recovered the casings, took pictures of where they were, and Lee Harvey Oswald took the rifle and set it over by the back exit of the book depository.
Clint, you were there, and obviously we've been talking for the last hour about how you were assigned to Mrs. Kennedy. From your perspective, there's no doubt in your mind, correct? None whatsoever. In fact, speaking of the rifle that they found, they determined that that particular rifle was the rifle that fired the shots. That particular rifle had been ordered through a mail order house by somebody by the name of Hiddell, H-I-D-E-L-L. Lee Harvey Oswald used that alias to obtain mail, and so they knew that he was the person who had that rifle. He worked in the school book depository and had access to that area. There's no question in my mind, but he was the shooter. It's been 47 years. Are there periods of time that go by where you don't think about it, or is it something that you actually do? genuinely think about every single day. Every day I think about it. I still have the image of the president lying on Mrs. Kennedy's lap in the back of that car, and that'll never go away. I was going to ask that question, but I didn't. I decided that I wasn't going to ask, and the reason that I wasn't was because I thought to myself, well, he's going to say that there were...
Too many powerful images that day that he couldn't narrow it down to one. But can you? Well, that is the image that I have. That's it? Is the president lying in Mrs. Kennedy's lap. Upper right portion of his head exposed. A large gaping hole in that upper right rear area. Most of the brain matter missing. And his eyes fixed. That is the image I have in my brain. And again, you remember each shot that was fired. Did you... When the fatal shot happened, I can't recall what you said that your eyes were fixed on when the fatal shot happened. When the fatal shot happened, I was trying to get on the car. And when it hit, I was just close enough to the car so that the material that came out of his skull spewed forth out over myself and the area of the trunk of the car.
About that time is when Mrs. Kennedy came up out of the seat just after the third shot. So you explained sort of how that day unfolded. The day ended with you, with Mrs. Kennedy, where family is starting to come and friends are starting to come to comfort her. And when were you allowed to go home and where did you call home? Was D.C. home? I lived in Arlington, Virginia at that time, and I remained at Bethesda Naval Hospital. The body was placed in a new casket that had been obtained by members of his staff because the old clasket, as I said, had been damaged when we tried to put it on Air Force One. His valet had brought clothing from the White House to him to dress him in. About 4 o'clock in the morning, we loaded the casket onto the amulets and drove. to the White House. We arrived at the northwest gate of the White House, and they had arranged for an honor guard of U.S. Marines to meet us there. They escorted the president's body up to the north portico, removed the body in the casket from the ambulance, cleared it into the White House, and placed it in the east room of the White House on a catapult that was similar to the one that had been used by Abraham Lincoln in 1865. My goodness. My goodness.
So is it at that point that you are relieved of duty? I mean, at some point you've got to go home and you've got to go home at some point. Well, after Mrs. Kennedy went up to the second floor, which is the residence where the president and the family lives in the White House, about 6 a.m. I had the opportunity to go to my home where I shaved, showered. My wife prepared me some breakfast and I returned to the White House. You never slept. Not until that next night. I got about two or three hours of sleep that night. But there was so much to do and so few people to do it that I didn't have the opportunity. Do you recall whether or not your wife asked you questions or did you say, I don't want to talk about it? Nothing was said. I had two sons. They didn't ask any questions. She didn't ask any questions. And I never have discussed it with any of them. I would say almost of all the things that you've said this morning, that may be the most powerful. 47 years you've never spoke to your wife or your children about the events of that day. We've never talked about it. Six in the morning you get home. Do you remember taking a shower? Showered and shaved and had a little bit to eat, put on some clean clothes, went back to the White House because there was too much to do that day.
Was your clothing considered evidence? Was it something that you could not dispose of? Or was it something that you had the inclination to throw away? Well, my coat that I had placed over the president's head and body was soaked in blood. And I didn't know where it was. It was subsequently returned to me at some time later, and I had it burned. My goodness. What about your tie, your shirt, your... That was just destroyed. I just disposed of all of it. Disposed of it. Incredible story. Jay, do we have to break? We have to break and we'll come back for our final break after this. Welcome back. We're talking to Jerry Blaine and to Clint Hill, two Secret Service agents that have been friends for a long time. And if you would like to get a copy of their book, they're going to be signing copies of their book tonight.
And they're going to be at Warwick's in La Jolla at 730. The book is called The Kennedy Detail. And it's also a documentary on the Discovery Channel. And you can see it tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. on the Discovery Channel. It's called The Kennedy Detail. And make sure that you check your times on that. It's been a real pleasure talking to you guys and hearing about the events of that day and what the... what the events of that day were all about. You know, everybody remembers those moments. You know, if you were alive that day, everybody remembers what they were doing at the time that they heard about it. And Jerry, we haven't asked you. How did you hear about it? How did you first hear about it? Well, I had, I came, went home after the Tampa advance and my wife had a few things for me to take care of. And then I worked midnights and we caught a plane to Fort Worth and then flew to Austin. I'd been in bed about probably five minutes when I heard the word that the shift leader came in and said the boss has been hit. And so we went to the Air Force base and took a strategic air command fuel plane.
back to Washington, D.C. And the entire Air Force was on radio silence. So we had no news on what was happening. Not a word was said all the way back. And when we arrived in Andrews Air Force Base, we were informed the president was dead. Clint Hill, after 47 years, has decided to talk about the details of that day. And I asked him earlier. why now and he said you know it's uh he's not getting any younger and uh it's something that you feel that you can talk about now and you've only talked about it in somewhat vague terms up until this point um and you said that there's not a day that goes by that you don't think about it that you don't think about uh the events of that day uh let me ask you this what uh what do you think that you will what do you think that you will uh you know, take from the relationship with Mrs. Kennedy. You know, it was a professional relationship, but it was also, it had to be a very close relationship because of the bond that you shared that day. What will you, what are your memories of her? What do you take away as memories of her? Well, some extremely happy times, but some extremely sad times because I was there when John Jr. was born. I was there when Patrick Bouvier was born and I was with her when he died.
I was there with her when her husband was killed. So it's an emotional tie that we had between the two of us that lasts forever. And I was there. I attended her burial service at Arlington National Cemetery in 1994. Did you keep in any contact with John Jr. up until the time of his death? Not really. I had very limited contact. Kept with Mrs. Kennedy and the children for one year after the assassination and left New York, where she was resigning at the time, in November of 1964 and was returned to the White House detail, assigned to President Johnson. Wow. Well, guys, I can't thank you enough for coming in and talking about this. It's just, wow, I think for all of us, it's just been really...
emotional, but also extremely compelling. One of the best interviews I've ever done in 23 years of interviewing guys. It's one of the best. And certainly one of the most memorable. Jerry Blaine and Clint Hill, Secret Service agents. And Clint, just speaking for the first time in 47 years, really in-depth about this in a new book. It's called The Kennedy Detail. They'll be signing. personalized copies of it tonight at Warwick's in La Jolla at 7.30 p.m. Fellas, thank you so much for not only your service, but for coming in and for your service to the country and what you've done. We appreciate it very much. Well, thank you for allowing us to be here. Absolutely. Thank you. Thank you. Let's see. Okay, I want to let people know that I am going to be speaking at PB Presbyterian this weekend. I'm going to be there tomorrow night at 7 o'clock, giving my testimony 7 o'clock tomorrow night if you're in the PB area.
You don't have anything going on. Love to have you come out and join us tomorrow night at 7 o'clock. Anybody got anything going on? No gigs this weekend? No gigs. L-O-B. Anybody else? We got anything going on? Getting a haircut. There you go. 11.30 today, Arrazo Salon. There you go. End of the show on Friday. I give you my testimony. I do this at the end of the show on Friday and tell you my story. Next week we're going to have a very interesting week because Brian Head Welch is going to be coming in here, formerly of Korn, and had a similar experience to mine. My experience is that I grew up a very scared kid. When I was a kid, I grew up very scared. I had a lot of fear as I was growing up. And if you've heard me for any length of time, you know that I believe that anger is hurt, sadness, and fear. And I grew up a pretty angry kid. And as I got into my teen years and as I got into my 20s, I was a pretty angry guy. The problem is, is that with the anger and the insecurity that I had, you mix that with alcohol, it's a bad mix. And before long, I was taking drugs and alcohol and became addicted to both. But I also became addicted to hurting myself.
I couldn't get out of my own way. I was a classic case of a guy that couldn't get out of his own way my whole life, especially in my 20s. Outwardly, I portrayed that I was a guy that had things together, that I was cool, and I hurt people and abused people with my words. Covered myself in tattoos so that people would think that I was something that I was not. I was a liar, a manipulator. I didn't care for others. It's just who I was. In the year 2003, I was completely addicted to alcohol, and I gave my life over to the care of Jesus Christ. Now, if there's anybody listening that's angry hearing that, then you just have to ask yourself what it is that you're feeling. Is it hurt? Is it sadness? Or is it fear? It could be any of those, but I've experienced it in my life, and so I understand it.
But what I want you to know more than anything else is that I am living, breathing proof that a life can be changed. My life was changed. It is undeniable. What happened in my life cannot be denied. If at one point I was a liar and a cheater and a manipulator and somebody that used people, I can tell you that today I'm not. Today... I still hurt people's feelings, but when I do, I feel bad I didn't used to. I feel bad, and I want to make things right, and I want to apologize. If anything that I've said sounds like you, or if you're going through a period in your life right now where you feel immense sadness, and you would just want comfort, go to MikeyShow.com.
At the top of the page, there's a word that says help. You click on that word and there's resources for depression, eating disorders, and addiction. Years ago, I wouldn't have cared about you. And I wouldn't have cared if you got any help from that stuff at all. But today I do. So please check it out. At the end of the show, we play a song on Friday. And the song that I'm going to play for you has to do with hope. which is something that maybe some of you that are listening right now may not have any hope. I want you to know that I was one of the most hopeless people around. But because of God, I'm a different person today. That's my testimony. The song is called Tunnel, and the lyrics are very, very, very powerful, especially if you're feeling hopeless. This song will let you know that you don't have to remain there. Lovely and Talented Hillary is up next. We will see you again on Monday.
PB Presbyterian tomorrow night at 7 if you want to see it. The Mikey Show's out.
