Mikey and Boston Rob tried to establish a sports truce, but a Red Sox jinx argument and a sudden studio-audio failure turned it into a mock supernatural crisis. The Wuss Rock Jukebox produced ruthless judging, while Oscar's pocket-dial story ended with him confronting his cheating girlfriend at her restaurant table. Donald Trump's insults prompted an argument over whether his cruelty was candid or strategic, and Rebecca pushed back on Mikey's attempt to abandon her Bates Nut Farm tradition before the crew debated self-calming against fixed punishment. Austin fire lieutenant Matt Cox described the rescue of three students lost deep in a cave, and Ellen DeGeneres's reclaimed rescue dog triggered both a serious adoption debate and the show's sprawling dog-face-salad mockery of Ashley.
What happened, in order
Gentlemen's sports truce
Mikey and Boston Rob agreed to respect each other's teams, but Mikey's Red Sox guarantee turned the pact into a long argument about jinxes, curses and whether a prediction can be taken back.
The sports gods strike
Right after Mikey finally took back his Red Sox prediction, the studio headphones and microphones suddenly went haywire and the crew blamed Ted Williams's ghost and the offended sports gods.
Wuss Rock Jukebox
Male callers had to continue soft-rock songs after the music stopped while Eddie, Skye and Sean delivered absurdly severe judgments about their lyrics and performances.
Pocket-dial cheating bust
Oscar learned from an accidental phone call that his girlfriend was on another date, drove to the named restaurant, sat at their table and ended the relationship when she refused to leave with him.
Trump's revenge tour
Clips of Donald Trump attacking Rosie O'Donnell, probing Larry King's grudges and criticizing Angelina Jolie led the crew to debate whether he was candid, cruel or deliberately cultivating fear for business leverage.
The pumpkin-patch veto
Mikey rejected the dusty, crowded Bates Nut Farm tradition until Rebecca called in and negotiated a local patch for young Jake now with a possible return to her childhood farm when he is older.
Self-calming versus punishment
Mikey, Rebecca, Skye, Eddie and Boston Rob argued over spanking, timed punishment and self-calming, with Mikey insisting consequences should mirror fixed sentences in adult life.
Lost in the birth canal cave
Austin fire lieutenant Matt Cox explained how rescuers found three University of Texas students about 6,000 feet inside a cramped cave after one wrong turn left them circling for roughly 30 hours.
Ellen's adoption breakdown
The crew argued over Ellen DeGeneres crying on television after a rescue group reclaimed the dog she and Portia de Rossi had informally given to her hairdresser's 12-year-old daughter.
Dog-face salad
A dispute over Ashley's vinegar-and-water dog correction spiraled into an extended salad-dressing riff as Eddie and the others piled on ingredient jokes and Ashley defended her 14 years of training experience.

It is 6-0-4. A man who was wanted for videotaping himself raping a three-year-old girl has finally been arrested in Nevada. The Rockies are going to the World Series. They sweep the Diamondbacks winning game four 6-4. I'll tell you what I'm curious about is the ALCS. What's going on in that one? I haven't seen anything about that. Yesterday was game three. Boston wins another one. Well, not so much. Cleveland won 4-2, and they now hold the two games to one advantage. Uh-oh. No, I didn't. I didn't. A little shocking. Yeah, you did. I didn't. I didn't. What do I know? What is he being mean? Listen, it's not over. I've been mean all this week. Boston, Rob. I support you, Rob. Thank you, Eddie.
Boston Roberts. You've been sarcastic and mean to me all this week. I'm beat up. It's passive aggression. When your Padres lost to the Rockies. It's passive aggression. Don't tase me, bro. Don't tase me, bro. Just, like, lay off, man. It's passive aggression. I didn't beat you up. I'm sorry. I apologize. That was my last one, I promise. But, Rob, remember after the Patriots beat the Chargers last year? How you were? Last year? Yeah, that's right. He was awful. Remember how the Patriots beat the Chargers this year and I didn't say nothing? And then when the Padres went out and they lost. That's true. You know, Rob, I have to hand it to you. I didn't say nothing because I felt bad for you guys. You've been trying. You guys were beat up, and I know how that feels. And I know that there's going to come a time where I'm down and out and feel like I've been kicked in the manhood. I'd like to make an agreement with you. How do you want? I'd like to make an agreement. Let's make an agreement. Now, this is just an agreement between you and I. You and Eddie will have a completely separate relationship, but I'll make a deal with you. Okay. I'd like to like your Red Sox. In fact, when I was a little kid and I didn't know anything about baseball, that was the team that I picked to be my favorite team. Really? Yeah, because I liked the way their colors were. Wow. So I picked them to be my favorite team. I didn't know anything about baseball. So I will support your Boston Red Sox. In fact, I'd like to. You'd like to on your...
own, you're saying, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And to your face. Okay. I would like to support them and definitely to your face. I would like to support them. To his face. And then your end of the bargain is... What about behind his face? To my face, you will support the Padres and the Chargers. Now, this means... That if you're going to make your cracks, you just wait until I leave the room to go tinkle. Now, what if your two teams play each other? Oh, man. All bets are off. All bets are off. Really? Yeah, I think all bets are off. Yeah, all bets are off. It has to be like that. Yeah, why not? I just think you can win more of a sportsman.
Playoff loss to the Chargers last year really hurt my feelings when Rob was laughing. Me too. And coming in here and being mean. I mean, I have a lot invested in that team, and it really hurt my feelings a lot. Oh, man. Me too. Why is Sky attacking me? It's a different year, though, right? Why is Sky attacking me? Sky? Hey, this year, you didn't really hear a peep out of me, did you? Well, I mean, it was kind of an early thing, and it didn't really matter that much, but. It still mattered to me. Okay. Well, maybe you've made the turn. Maybe you've grown up. Yeah, and now you're a gentleman. Maybe you've grown up. Now you're a gentleman. So we'll all be gentlemen about this. I've supported you this whole playoffs. You have. You have. I have not. No, and I need you to take something back. Take back what you said about the Red Sox going to the... But don't you want them to? Hey, hey, hey. Going where? That was so much fun. See, you're jinxing them. Thou shall not be named where they are going, but take it back. Where? We shall not name where they are. We all know what Mike is saying. You can't be jinxed something, Rob. It's not. Ashley is right. She is. He can pretend, but it's already great. It's already out there. It's actually when we spoke in your place. You didn't speak in my place. Oh, we did. Oh, no. You turned the mic on. I have to because it's wrong.
We all have this thing where when I start to make a point, everybody sort of gets, oh, the host of the show is talking. Let me hear what he's going to say. Except Rob. He continues on like a bull in a china shop. So I have to now resort to turning his microphone off. It's very upset. Yes. But anyway, Rob, what I was going to say to you is, unfortunately, the damage is done. I've done something awful. I've done something awful. And we're going to have to call this season a, you know. No. No. Unfortunately, because of what I did. It was my fault. You don't speak for me. It was my fault. We don't call this a wash. We're going out there. Hang on. I got to tell. I have to let the audience know. I have to let the audience know what I did. Oh, no. I do. I'm not listening to this. Okay. You don't have to. Some people are wondering. You don't have to. Wow. He's seriously so mad. Oh, I know. I know. It was awful what I did. He's so pissed. All right. He turned the monitor down. He turned his headphones down. He didn't want to hear. What I did was.
I said to Rob at Jake's birthday party, I said, hey, listen, Rob, you don't have anything to worry about. Those Red Sox are great. They're going to go to the World Series. And Eddie goes, wow, Mike, you guarantee that? I go, I guarantee it, Rob. I guarantee that the Red Sox will win the World Series. And Rob, it was like. It was like you took all the air out of that hot air balloon. He knew at that moment, like, you jinxed him. You just jinxed him. You should have mentioned something about the Patriots going 16-0. No. Well, that's the big talk, Scott. That's the big talk. Rob's listening now. Really? Rob's listening now. So I explained it. Now, Ashley's right. What's jinxed is jinxed. But for next season, listen. But next April, I won't do this again. He's up. He's up. He's up. Is he? He just stood up. This isn't part of the deal. He just stood up. This is not part of the deal. I'm mini-mini. But from this point on. Dude, I'm not sitting here going, hey, the Chargers are going to come back and win every other game the rest of the season, even though they had a tough start. I won't say that to you. We're being gentlemen, though. See, he just did. I know. I won't say that, though. I know. Whoa. I didn't even catch that. Yeah, he did.
You bastards. I thought we were at a gentleman's agreement. I thought we did have a gentleman's agreement, but I don't know. What are you doing? No, you say take it back. I say I can't take it back. And I said I wouldn't say that the Chargers are going to win every other game this year. Every other game? Or every game from now on. You added that. I won't say stuff like that. You know what I mean? The Patriots are the best team of all time right now. They're not going to lose a game, and they're going to go to the Super Bowl and win it. A lot of people are saying that. They are. Now, I just reiterated it. I guarantee they win that season. Oh, you're guaranteeing? This is awful. I guarantee it. I guarantee that the Padres are going to win it all next year. Next what? His microphone cut out. So not fair. His microphone cut out. That's so not fair. This is really bad. Well, Sky, do you see what's happening? It's degenerating to worseness. Well, yeah, but so you get to jinx his team, and as soon as he starts the same thing to say something about your team, you turn his mic off? That's not playing fair. Like it matters with the podcast. Let's review. Let's review, Sky. Let's review. I made a gentleman's agreement. He asked me to take something back. Ashley pointed out what's done is done.
She's right. I said, but for next season, we'll all be gentlemen. But you went on to repeat what you said. Well, he took his headphones off. Because I can't hear that again. It breaks my heart. I had to let the audience know what I did that was so awful. This kid's down. He's having a tough day. And in the spirit of letting the audience know why I did it, I'm going to explain to you. Of course. I'll be even more honest with you and the whole world and the whole audience. So why don't you just be a bigger man and placate me and just take it back? Trust me, Rob. Because it's a... I'm telling you, I could take it back, but if I do that, it's not going to reverse the curse. We'll do it if it's going to make your friend happy. You kind of cursed them. I kind of cursed them. Yeah, you did curse them. I kind of cursed them. Placate him. That's what he's asking for. That's all I want. I'm telling you. That's all I want. I think that to placate him makes the curse worse. You're so full of S right now. It makes the curse worse. You're coming out of your ears. S coming out of your ears. No, this guy, he's right. Shut up. I'm being serious. Have I not been on the fence on this one? I've been cool. Oh, he has been. It's true. I'm being serious. Mike's right. But I just, listen. No, I get it. I get it. I get it. You won't do something just to make me feel a little bit better.
Yeah. It's cool, man. And listen, I'm going to admit to the world that the whole reason that I did it in the first place, boy, it takes a lot for me to be honest about this this way in a public forum. But the whole reason I jinxed his team was because I was irritated that he can't answer those damn emails in a timely manner. Whoa! I'll be honest. The truth comes out. I'll tell the truth. There it is. That I've asked this kid I love. Gentleman's bet is off. Oh, no, it isn't. What the heck? Why is this degenerating again? Break. We're making a... It's like a... He was admitting something. He was admitting something. They got some tough teams, right? They got some tough teams coming up. I'm trying to make a fresh start with this man. No. Okay. And he won't let us make a fresh start with one another. Because you won't even placate me right now. What do you want me to do? You want me to take it back? Yeah. Just love it is. Just love. Yeah, I do. I'm telling you, if I take it back, I'm telling you, if I take it back, the Red Sox don't make it out of this series. If I take it back. Oh, my God. What are you saying? Oh, my God. That's why I don't want to do it.
it worse, bro. Let's just stop. That's why I don't want to. So you backed me into a corner either way? Either way? Now, like... Sky. Television, please. Television, please. Oh, my God. Roman Oban's on television. What is going on? Where did they go? I don't know. They showed Roman Oban on the television for a minute. This is crazy. That's such a tease. We're in the Twilight Zone right now. You see what I'm saying, though, you guys? I don't want to jinx his team. And I said that if I take it back, it jinxes them. And he says, no, it doesn't. I says, yes, it does. If I take it back, they don't make it out of the series. That's a jinx. This is the bottom line. You can't de-jinx. You can't re-jinx. What's done is done, so just drop it. Yeah, exactly. That's what I want to do. I want to just drop it, shake hands, have a gentleman's agreement, and from this point forward, we're very respectful of one another's sports organizations. You know, that's real tough because you just put me in a weird position. You said, well, if I take it... I'll do whatever you want, Rob. I'll do whatever you want. What would you like me to do? What would you like me to do? Oh, no. I've stated my facts, but I'll do whatever you like. But they're not facts. Okay. Okay, what would you like me to do? You tell me right now, I'll do it.
I'll proceed. I had already told you before. I'm telling you. I had already stated my case. I don't feel like I have to reiterate. You're not a three-year-old. I'm sorry. That's your boss. No, no, no. Listen, take the boss stuff out of it right now. These are two men dealing with each other about sports. Man to man. Man to man. I'm asking you as a gentleman, what would you like me to do? If you don't remember what I said about six minutes ago, then I don't know what to do. I remember what you said. I remember what you said. And then you... I just want you to be in charge of your own destiny, my friend. I can't be with you saying... Oh, no. Oh, no. Well said. Hold on. You know what you did. I wanted you to take something back. And when I asked you to take it back. You see that I'm trying to extend myself to him right now. I'm saying whatever he wants. I'll do it. Well, you're saying it right now. Happy birthday. Not for the last 20 minutes. He broke me down. Mike, do you really not remember what he asked of you? Of course I remember what he asked of me. Then can you do that? That's all he's asking. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The thing is, I need to hear it from his mouth. I need to hear him say... You've heard me say it. But he said it like three times. Tough love it is. What is this one time going to make a difference? You got it. Can I ask a question? Can I ask a question? Please. Did you hear what I said? What happened? See, I knew this was... I knew this was... If I take it back, why would you say that? Well, he obviously doesn't believe that's the case. He doesn't? And it would make him feel better for you to take it back. Oh, well, then I take it back. Oh! That's a low blow, dude. That's a low blow. Hold on. You listen to me. You listen to me. You listen to me now. Okay. Did he turn his mic up? What just happened? Like all of our mics are... What happened? What just happened? I didn't touch nothing. Ghost. What? What? I don't know. I didn't touch a thing. Mikey's getting worked up. Oh, no. Headphones are like blown out. Really loud. I don't know. Great. It's the Bambino. Oh, yeah. Oh, dude. There is a curse now. That's kind of uncomfortable. I swear I didn't touch anything. See what you're doing, Mike? You're messing with the supernatural. You're getting the ghost mad. I agree. I actually agree with you. For real. And the ghost is clearly on Rob's side. Oh, no. I can barely hear Rob. Your guys' headphones seem to be blown out. Hello. Check, check. Mine are loud. Look it. All microphones are on. Hello. Nothing's been touched.
Everything's the same. The headless ghost of Ted Williams. So that just happened and then went away? Did it go away? I can't hear. I still can't hear. Oh, you can't hear? Mine's better. Mine's fine now. Yeah, mine's better now. Cannot hear a thing. It didn't mess with mine. Yeah, my headphones are cranked all the way up. I can't hear. Really? Yeah. Is that kind of weird, Mike? I can hear them real quietly. Whoa. Oh, man. What the heck just happened? I don't know. Get an engineer in here. I can hear you enough, Rob. They're upset. I can hear you enough. You've upset the sports gods. Come in here. Oh, my God. What did you do? He has to finish what he was saying first before he comes in here. Right. Clown. I got to take my headphones off to be able to hear you. Go ahead. Go ahead. Oh, my God. What? What? Listen. You've upset the sports gods, dude. Big no-no. Rob. Now it's your teams that are in trouble, and this has nothing to do with me. I said, what do you want me to do? You said, Mike. We're going to need a medium. You've got to take it back. I said, listen, Rob, I can't do that. Here's the consequences of doing that. You said, no. You're a grown man. You don't remember what you said a couple minutes ago. What are you, a three-year-old? I said, okay. I take it back. You're playing games.
I am not. You gave me a consequence. I didn't ask for a consequence. I just wanted you to take something back. Oh, I told you though. I told you right from the beginning. But like you make up these, you make up these. He even agreed. He knew that taking it back. But why did you have to vocalize that? Why did you just keep it to yourself? To a double curse. A double curse? Wouldn't that cancel out the first one then? So I'm cool. Because that's how it works. Yeah. If you double curse something, then it cancels out the first one. Trust me. I know all about this. Okay. I'll tell you what. Oh, don't give me another consequence. No, no, no, no. I'm saying you've got your team. Don't you put this evil on me. I guess we'll have to figure out who's right about this. Don't you put this evil on me. No, no, no, no, no. I'm just saying, I guess as the whole thing plays out, maybe you're right. Maybe the curse was just dropped. Why? When do they play again? Tonight in Cleveland. Wakefield on the mound. Wakefield? Oh, Tim Wakefield's starting. He is? Hopefully there's a nice little breeze. Why not Beckett on three days rest? I don't know. I say pitch Beckett every day. Rob, that's... I know. Look what your best friend did to me. Hey, listen. I have nothing to do with this. No, you didn't, but I'm just saying. Control that guy. Wow, this is going to get really interesting. I haven't been watching this series, but I'm definitely going to watch tonight. Definitely going to watch tonight. Man, that was interesting. Not for me.
Yeah, my headphones went out. They still don't work. That was weird, because they got really loud, and then it got back to normal. Well, Zeth went over and played with the volume to try to fix it, and maybe it did fix your guys, it didn't fix mine. Nothing going on in these headphones. Nothing. Like, it doesn't matter what, Jack. Look what you did, dude. Hey, go get the spare pair. Maybe it's the headphones. The what? The spare pair of headphones. The headphones. Neither Jack works, and everything else is fine. You know the pair that I got for guests? Zeth! You guys don't know where the other headphones are? It is in the headphones. Clown school radio. I don't know, but I feel so weird not wearing headphones. Nothing seems right. It's just different. I can't hear Sean. It's weird. It's not. But you can try it.
I think I'd rather have headphones on and not here. Right? It'll make me more comfortable. You are so weird. This is so stupid right now. What did you do? Idiot. What did you do? No. Oh, don't put that evil on me. Don't put that evil on me. You did it. Where's Ron Fu? Ron Fu's busy with Jeff. He's busy with Jeff and Jer. Be right over. Be right over. What's going on with Jeff and Jer? He's busy with Jeff and Jer. Are their headphones out? Is he embalming them? What did you say? I can't hear. We'll get it figured out. Good times, huh? 5701053. Beginning and end of every show, we do open phones. You can call about whatever you want. This is the most unpredictable. Like San Diego. Us doing the radio show in San Diego.
Easily the coolest of any place we've ever done it. Easily the most unpredictable. Easily the most crazy. Like the craziest, weirdest, most unpredictable stuff. Hello? Hello? Oh, there it is. What happened? What happened? It was just a volume thing. I'm all back and I'm all better. Sounds great. It was a volume control thing. Crazy. Okay. So 570-1053 is the phone number. Mikey Show, hello. Good morning, Mikey. How's it going? Good. Dude, that so-called ghost you're all talking about, the noises sound really weird over the air listening. It's like so noticeable. It's like pretty weird. And I heard it during the 28-hour show. It happened like two or three times during the 28-hour show. But as soon as we acknowledged it. And then as soon as you guys talked about it, bam. Yeah, it goes away. It's so weird, man. These weird noises have been happening in the studio for a while. And when they happened in the middle of the night,
during the 28-hour show, happened about 4 o'clock in the morning, and Jay from Promotions, he genuinely wanted to leave. Yeah. Seriously? Yeah, he genuinely wanted to leave. Jinx! I know it. Hey, I hope that... Rob, did you hear that? He threw a jinx out there right before he hung up. That wasn't me. Mikey's show, hello? Yeah. It's Mikey. Oh, really? Yeah, what's up? Hey, uh... Tell Boston Rob Cleveland Rocks. I'll tell him Cleveland Rocks. Thank you. Man, I wish he had a little bit more than that, but that's fine. You don't have anything else to add besides Cleveland Rocks? That song sucks. Oh, I thought you guys just had a truce, Mike. I thought you and Rob... It's not about Rob. It's about the caller. Like, I kind of wish he had, like, something a little bit more than Cleveland Rocks. And Drew Carey's awesome or something. Like, when you call, like, have a... Yeah, whatever, dude. You know what I'm saying? Like, have something. Give me something, something. Well, something, something.
Yeah, I don't care what it's about. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, it's P1 Giants, man. What's up, man? Hey, I just want to let you know that I went home on vacation, went up to Northern California, was listening to the Mikey Show over the computer, and now my parents, they listen every morning over the computer, too. That's awesome, man. Awesome! That's very cool. Yeah, my mom loved tone-deaf karaoke. That's her favorite thing now. Very nice. Very nice. Well, thank you, man. Tell your mama thank you. There you go. You guys want to hear a clip of the ghost stuff that's happened in the studio? Oh, yeah. We got clips of it. Listen to this. All right. Next question, please. Really gross. Oh, no. Here she goes. Uh-uh. Stop. Hold faithful. Grow up. Oh, my gosh. Please. What is that? Dude, I just... Oh, God. What is that noise? It's a ghost. For real. That was crazy. That was one. Now you're another one? And familiar. I'm using the restroom. And I say... And you're a connoisseur of this? No, I'm just saying... That was a loud one. I'm going home. And as soon as we acknowledge it, it goes away. It's gone. Every time, too. Get me out of here, dude. Every time, too.
That was about during the 28-hour show. That was scary. And that really loud one was at, like, wee hours of the night. That's right. The wee hours. So scary. Mikey. By the way, our email address here, you can email me at any time. Mikey at rock1053.com. M-I-K-E-Y. Mikey at rock1053.com. Mikey, I can't believe you threw the jinx on Rob's socks. That's terrible. You should feel ashamed of yourself. Regards, Oliver from the Brady Bunch. What's up? Hey, I was at the 28-hour show, and I was, like, looking in, and whenever you guys were talking about the ghost, there was, like, a piece of paper that was taped up on the wall, and it was, like, moving.
It was like moving like there was like a breeze in the room. I wonder if it was the air conditioner. Maybe it was the fan that we had blowing. I don't know. It was a ghost. You're right. I don't know, man. It creeps me out. Weird stuff. Yeah. Thank you for the call. Bye. P1 Chris. Hey, this is Chris. I think that your guys' ghost is just a dead P1. He wants to hang out with you guys. That really creeped me out. Yeah, you know, big fan. Great, thank you for the explanation. It's a dead P1 wants to hang out with us. Hey, P1 Balderdash is on the line. Hi, Mikey. What's up? I was just wondering, because, you know, the first time I ever saw you guys in person was when I went to the 20-hour show. Uh-huh. And I was hearing you guys talking about Ashley's tits, and I thought you guys were just messing around, right?
No, no, no. Pits, he said. Pits. With a P. Yeah, yeah, yeah. With a P. Okay. Okay. Relax. You've always heard us talking about Ashley's armpits. Okay, great. Everybody started waving at me. Hit the button. Hit the button. Oh, no. Anyway. Is that for real or like, come on, you guys. You didn't see it? You didn't see it that day? Yeah, like, that day I saw it, but I thought it was fake. It is fake. That's so funny. He's on to us. It is totally fake, sir. I, like, for fun, you know, to get a rise out of the crowd, I'll, like, soak my underarms. Let me see right now, Ash. Raise your arms. Like, for fun, I soaked it today just to kick the morning off. You soak it every day, apparently. Look at that. It's right now, I'm looking at the bottom of her T-shirt, and it's soaked with sweat. Baby! It's a problem, sir. We all have them, okay? Not all of us. Figure out yours. I'll figure out mine. We're good. Oh, there it is. Don't worry about it. Whoa. Doesn't affect your personal life. You're fine. So the Rockies have won 21 out of 22 games. See, I just think it's freakish. I just think it's a freakish thing. You know what it reminds me? Okay, I got it. Here's what the Rockies remind me of.
You know the girl that hiccuped for like three weeks straight? Yeah. That's what the Rockies are to me. Like, I don't think to myself, wow, that girl, she's really got a lot of talent to be able to hiccup like that for four weeks. No, she can't control it. They can't stop winning. Like, 21 out of 22, they can't stop. It's some weird freakish thing. They're winning. They'll probably take it. You know, what's weird, though, is that now they got time off. Right, Eddie? Yeah. They have to sit and wait until the ALCS is done. Whenever that is. It could take a while. Or not. Well, yeah. Either way, it could or it couldn't. We'll just have to wait and see. We'll just have to wait and see who wins, if it'll be the Red Sox or the Cleveland Indians. Right now, the Indians are up 2-1. That is correct. So the Red Sox are in some trouble. Well, they are. They're down. They are. They're down. You didn't say anything wrong. Relax. We're getting to a weird place. No, no, no. Don't worry. I'll be careful. They lost game three, 4-2.
To Cleveland. Yeah. Where did it happen? In Cleveland. In Cleveland. Yeah, and they have two more in Cleveland before they go back to Boston, which is scary. We're a great team. To each their own. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, I think so, too. I think so, too. I think that they're a great team. You know, so let's just leave it at that. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Well said. Yes. Well said. Thank you. Well said. We have a lot of stuff. Today, for your listening enjoyment, we got the Wuss Rock jukebox coming up, which is guys calling in, singing Wuss Rock songs. It's fantastic. We've got cell phone mishaps back today. Love it. You calling us, telling us about times you thought you hung up that cell phone, but you didn't. About smoking in the car with your kids. We'll talk about it. Oh, I got this email from this dude that went on a date. Maybe the craziest person I've ever heard on like a blind date. I don't even know if it's a blind date. They went on a date. This girl may be the craziest person I've ever heard about on a date. So we'll tell you about that. Killer audio today. Let's do it up. Ash, who is in the stand-up spotlight? Louis Black. There you go. 105.3. I finally began to figure out something important this year, and that is the strangest thing about George Bush to me. You can't really call him stupid and you can't call him insane. However, a lot of the times when he speaks, his face doesn't match the words. And that's kind of strange, considering the words come from here and the mouth is here.
It doesn't have that far to go. It isn't like it runs down past your kneecap and up around your ass and back into your mouth. I believe what happens is this. He begins to speak and the words start down. But then, inside his head, he hears the bell of an ice cream truck. On a creamsicle now. And he gets to the truck and gets his creamsicle. And then, the words start coming out of his mouth. But in his head, he's licking a creamsicle. Say what you have to say and shut up. Years ago, people had a family lawyer who they'd call when they had questions.

to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We're seeing a bit of a heavier ride now in the South 15 out of Escondido off to 78 with the brake lights down to Via Rancho Parkway. Reduced speeds again through that construction area here in Rancho Bernardo. The coaster ride's not too bad. South Pond 5, a little sluggish out of Encinitas down towards Solana Beach right now. West 8 cooperating, West 94. That's a bit tight from Federal now to the 805. And coming up out of the South Bay, 805 northbound. Seeing some brake lights bunching up around 8th Street and then again from 47th Street up to the 15 Freeway. And a bit of a slowdown on the bridge getting into Coronado. with doing something near the toll plaza that's causing a bit of a backup getting into Coronado out of San Diego. I'm Rick Lawrence with Brock 105.3. P1 Johnny. That's me. Dude, tell me your AIS story. I walk into AIS and I've gotten a couple other quotes from a couple different places and AIS tells me that they can do this thing. I have a ticket that drops off in October, October 10th, and he gives me a quote without the ticket. And he tells me this because AIS will give you, if it's within 30 days when it drops off, they will quote you without that point on your record. Even though every other place quoted me, it saved me like $700 throughout the year. Really? Because he took the ticket off about 25 days before it actually comes off my record. No other place did it for me. You saved $700 by going to AIS. That's right. 1-800-777-4247. 1-800-777-4AIS is the phone number. Were you real happy you did it?
I was very happy I did it. You've been hearing about me talk about AIS, right? Over and over again. And I never got it until I walked in there. I love you. You're a good person. 1-800-777-4247. Have a great day, guys. Now, more of the Mikey Show with Mikey. I'm a strange guy. Strange person. Eddie. I had every Star Wars action figure as a kid. Sky. I'm proud to be an American. And Ashley. I sit inappropriately in dresses. On Rock 105.3.
You took my hand. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. You promised me. It's 642. Britney Spears turned herself into police last night and was booked on misdemeanor hit-and-run charges. Monday Night Football last night saw Eli Manning throw a couple of touchdowns leading the Giants to a 31-10 win over the Falcons. Everything you said to me. Everything works out for a reason. Yeah, he had a good night last night, but I am so... So glad that we have Phillip Rivers and not Eli Manning. Oh, yeah. No question. Every time, I mean, every time I hear Eli Manning brought up, what they're talking about is his lack of leadership. Every single time, like every time. You never hear him mention without them saying that he can't rally those troops. There was a particular play last night that happened that made me go, dude, come on. What happened? Well, there was this play where it was questionable fumble or not, where he went back to throw. Right. And the ball was knocked out of his hands as he was throwing forward. So, you know, that whole rule of, you know, whether it's not as a pass or it's a fumble. And if that were Phillip Rivers, he would have blown his top because they originally ruled it a fumble. Rivers would have gone nuts. Right. Been like, no, that was a pass. And he would have freaked out on the sidelines and, you know, whatever. Showed some emotion. Hell yeah.
If you believe that you didn't fumble the ball, talk to the referee. Eli Manning puts his head down, walks to the sideline. You see a lot of the head down. I'm like, dude. You see a lot of that. Come on. They talk a lot about how Eli Manning has this sort of defeated look. And the players, they feed off that. So they need you to get all fired up. That's brutal. Even when they were interviewing him in pre-interview stuff, they were showing it before the game started. They were asking him how the other players reacted to Tiki Barber saying on national television that Eli's inspirational speeches were laughable. So they were asking Eli about that. And they said, how did the other players respond to you coming back and sort of firing back? And even his response was very sort of childlike. He goes, I think they were really proud of me.
I was like, oh, dude, come on. You know what I mean? Terrible. There was a really uncomfortable moment in the booth last night as well. What happened? Well, they had Jimmy Kimmel come into the booth and, you know, do commentary with them. Right. He's being funny or whatever. Until he says, let me see if I can word it exactly the way he did. Oh. Mike Tirico says, and we welcome those of you who just saw the Red Sox lose to the Indians. You know, we welcome you to the game. And Jimmy Kimmel goes, yeah, and we welcome Joe Theismann, who's sitting at home steaming, watching the game right now as well, too. Is that how he said it? Yeah. And the booth goes silent, dead silent. And then after a couple seconds, Tirico goes, third and ten, and nobody reacts to it. Nobody reacts to it. And then they go to a commercial right after that. And when they came back, was Jimmy gone? He was gone right after that segment. But it was different after that. Nobody really reacted to him. Do you guys get that and get why that's bad? Does everybody get why that's bad and all that? Last year, the booth was Mike Tirico, Joe Theismann, and Tony Kornheiser.
They fired Theismann and they brought in Jaws, right? Ron Jaworski. Ron Jaworski. So they fired Theismann. So I'm sure all these guys have a relationship with Theismann. You know what I mean? How uncomfortable when he's like... It's not like they're not friends with the guy, probably. You know? So how uncomfortable... Because they can't laugh. They can't laugh. Theismann is watching. Yeah. So if they laugh... Dan Theismann's like, oh, thanks, guys. I thought you guys were my friends. It was bad, dude. Really bad. See, that's a moment. I hate when I miss moments. That's really a moment. What a bummer. Okay, so here's some of the things that are happening. That monster that videotaped himself raping that three-year-old girl. We talked about this because he had a connection to El Cajon. Yeah. Yeah, there was like a nationwide manhunt going on for this guy once the tape surfaced. And they believe they positively ID'd him from the tape. And one of the places across the country he had ties to was the El Cajon area. So it was one of dozens of places they were searching for him across the country. And last night, Chester Stiles was pulled over for a routine traffic stop for not having license plates on his car.
In Henderson, Nevada, the cop said he was acting kind of weird. And finally, he told the cop, I'm Chester Stiles. You've been looking for me. I'm tired of running and was taken into custody. Glad he's off the street. Oh, yes. That's a really good thing. Hey, parents, Chicken Pox is now in Carlsbad. Yeah, we talked about it. What was that last week? We were talking about how it's kind of had an outbreak in the East County. But now Carlsbad, they say about half a dozen students at Calvera Hills Middle School in Carlsbad have come down with the chicken pox. They've sent out an email to parents letting them know. And of course, you know, reminding people, hey, if your kids haven't been vaccinated for the chicken pox, you might want to go ahead and do that because it's making its way across the county right now. Not only that, but you got to be concerned about it if you have kids of any age. Because those kids, they have the chicken pox at those schools. They got brothers and sisters. Yeah. Great point. So, you know, you know how that goes. Because I'm thinking about it even for Jake. Because, you know, Jake goes to all the stuff that the kids play with. You know, they all got brothers and sisters and stuff. So that stuff's flying around. The chicken pox. Don Imus makes his return to radio. Wow. WABC New York.
Is he coming out of the coffin? Yeah, they're delivering the sarcophagus today. Yeah, so he is going to start. His first day will be December the 3rd. Yeah, there he is with bandages all around him. They're wheeling him up. Here comes... Ah, look, Imus just got out of the hearse. Still got that cowboy hat on. Yeah, he's still got the cowboy hat. He's all wrapped in bandages, just like the mummy. Dusty. Yep. Really dusty. Oh, look at all the cobwebs. And now they're unloading him from the back of the hearse, which was a nice touch, the hearse. That's kind of cool. Look at that. Now he's, oh, somebody's having him wave to the crowd. They're helping his arm up to wave. Oh, that's kind of like Weekend to Bernie style. Exactly. There you go. Oh, I don't know how they did that. His arm just fell off. Oh, no. How'd they do that? Get the duct tape. They say WABC is the biggest talk station in the country. That's what they say. Maybe it is. It's a big market, number one market in the country. Yeah. So ABC, obviously, who owns the station, says that, you know, obviously, Imus was fired from his last job for saying controversial things. And so they say that Imus will be on the standard 40-second delay. 40 seconds? The standard 40-second delay. We'll be on the standard two-hour delay because I just want to make sure if he says anything. Yeah.
P1, Mike, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's up, Mike? Not much. I live in Oceanside, and I know that Calavera school that they were talking about with the chicken pox outbreak. It's right on the border of Oceanside, and they're not really telling anybody that. So if you've got kids that live in that area, it's right where the college area goes through from Oceanside to Carlsbad. You think it's some sort of a conspiracy to not let the people of Oceanside know? Well, the people in Carlsbad have more money than the people in Oceanside, so we only want to protect the people of Carlsbad. Yeah, we don't care about that. That's what it is. That's what it's a conspiracy. Need to know basis. Hey, listen, I'm glad you blew the top on this one, bro. Yeah, figured us out. Thank you very much. You guys have a good day. All right, see you later. That's funny. Pam Anderson. They're now saying that maybe the reason she got married is because there's a reality show planned for her and that guy that, what's his name, Rick Solomon? Yep. That she married? Yeah, they say that NBC, Fox, the E! Network, and VH1 are all currently in a bidding war for the Pam Anderson, Rick Solomon reality show, which will be very similar to the Nick and Jessica newlyweds that was on MTV.
I'm telling you, I'm sure that there are people that have interest in that. I'm sure. Like me on a scale of one to ten, like is there anything lower than a zero in terms of my interest in that? None. So you're not going to season past that one. I'm telling you, I got no interest, like not even a little bit of interest. In fact, I think it would upset and irritate me. A lot like watching anything on MTV does. I can't watch any show from MTV. How dare you? They upset me. They upset me in like an irritated way. Like I go, oh, come on, grow up with the drama already. I don't want to see it. There's something about watching other people's drama that I can't do it. Want to do Wuss Rock Jukebox? Yeah. All right, call now. Guys, call now. 570-1053. Hi. I was calling about sleep train. Go ahead. What are you saying? What are you calling to say? Do you sleep train?
I went in there with my fiance about three weeks ago. We're not getting married for like five and a half weeks. I mean, sorry, five and a half months. And they're holding it for us for five and a half months before we get married. That's rad. Yeah, so, and I haven't heard anybody talk about that, so. That's pretty awesome. Yeah, it was way awesome. And on top of that, we got like, I think it was like a thousand bucks off the deal because we found one on the internet. It was like pretty crazy. That's awesome, dude. Just go into a sleep train center. Anybody should go into a sleep train center if they're looking to buy a new bed. That's fantastic. Thank you for the call. Yeah, no problem. Bye. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I listen exclusively to talk radio. Eddie. I use a specific brand of Kleenex Sky. I don't like Gorgonzola, so. Yes, you do. Yes, you do.
Sean. I really think that ice cubes from, like, refrigerator ice cube trays are disgusting. Boston Rock. I'm a grown-ass man. Show me some respect. And Ashley. I am a very forgiving person. On Rock 105.3. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. It is 7 a.m. San Diego just had the largest cockfighting bust ever, shutting down two South Bay locations with more than 5,000 birds. The NFL commissioner is considering... hosting the Super Bowl in London. What's Rock Jukebox coming up here in just a second? Rudolph Giuliani was just talking to some kids and stuff. I don't know if he was at a school or whatever, but he was talking to a group of kids. And one of the kids wanted to know if he would be ready for an alien attack. That's a great question. Cut 14. It comes over here. What would you do?
I'm going to tell you that is the first time I've been asked that question. In presidential campaigns, you find that you get asked the same questions over and over again, which is good, because what it shows is that the people in New Hampshire are really concerned about the same things as the people of Florida and Iowa. You guys are much more similar than you think you are. You are. But that's the first time I've been asked, how do we get prepared for... An out-of-space attack. Well, if we're properly prepared for all the different things that can happen to us, we'll be prepared for that as well. Right? I mean, we'll be prepared for anything that happens. And I think we have here a budding... This could be the new Steven Spielberg. I would not vote for him based on that answer. Thank you. I agree.
That was awful. What a jerk. What a great opportunity to, you know, be lighthearted. Yeah, have some fun, show some personality. Talk about, you know, go get Will Smith or something, you know. First of all, he can't even talk. It's brutal. Yeah, he's doing the whole, like, well, let me answer this seriously. We'll be prepared no matter what. You're a reporter from CNN, right, little boy? Whatever. And if you're going to take the tactic of, well, you know, I want to be honest with a child. Okay, fine. But you can still have fun, bro. Sure. Have some fun, too. Idiot. It's a fun question. Rudolph Giuliani. Boo. How about we do a little bit of this? Yeah. Yeah. This is about to get crazy. That's what I'm saying. Up in here. Whatever. You guys all suck. Hey, listen. It's only one man's opinion. What are you going to do? It's true. P1 Mike. What's up, guys? Not too much, dude. You ready to do this? I'm ready. All right, man. Well, let's do it. We're going to do a little Wuss Rock jukebox. The way that Wuss Rock jukebox works, I'm going to play you a very Wuss Rock type song, and it will abruptly stop. When it does, you take over singing, and then you'll be judged on how gay and effeminate you sound. All right. Eddie, Sky, and Sean will be the judges, and hopefully you make it through.
Now, don't forget, bro, if you don't know the words, make something up funny, okay? Got it. Here we go. It's love, but it's sweet and non-emotion. Eddie. This is a tough one. He's still singing it. It's difficult because he screwed up a couple of words, but, I mean, he got the basics of the song. So, you know, I mean, I feel like I tuned into the Matt Lauer special, and this guy was sitting there with Matt saying, I am gay, and I always have been gay. So I'll give him a thumbs up. There you go. Sky. Yeah. I'm having issues because, you know, he did mess up, but he did get the gist of the song. Right. So, I mean, to be honest, dude, I think that you're more bi-curious than gay, but that's still good enough for me. Oh. Wow. Two for two. Sean.
I mean, are you kidding me? It was a couple of words. Are you kidding me? This was all. He basically got it. Calm down. He did not basically get it. One word. One word. He basically screwed the whole thing up. Oh. Oh. It's so tough. You got two yes votes, Mike. You win. Right on. Hang on the line. Up next, P1 Termite. Oh. Hello. Good morning. Hey, dude. How are you? I'm doing great. Okay. Okay. We're going to play you the clip when it stops you, Star. And if you don't know it, you better make something up good. Here we go. Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. Well, it's tough. Because, you know, I mean, he did what we said. He tried to make up some funny lyrics because he didn't know the song. But I really wanted him to get this. I really wanted him to know the lyrics because it's a great song. And I think that he was going to be.
the flash dance girl for Halloween, you know, with the full leggings and everything. Irene Cara. But then we look at him and he's like, you know, making out with a chick at the Halloween party. So, no, I'm going to say no. All right, Sky. Yeah, I mean. What straight guy comes on and admits he wants to play Naked Leapfrog in Hillcrest? So I totally believe you, and I believe you are P1 Termite, and you do enjoy wood. Well, there you go. Hello. Wow. And finally, Sean. Oh, look at Sean. So difficult. He looks irritated and upset. Calm down. Calm down, Sean. Irritated and upset. I hope. You get pink eye in your groin. Everything turns black and falls off. How do you get? Think about it. It makes no sense. Is that a yes or a no?
I'm going to spend time with it. I think that's a no. I think so. P1 Fig is on the line. Real good, bro. Now listen here, you. You rascal. You little fig. Listen here, fig. You better come strong with something if you don't know the words. Are you ready? You're damn right, Mike. Here we go. Eddie, you got to take the personal out of it. You got to take the personal out of it. There's one thing you don't mess with with me. And that's haul and effing oats. You know that's true. Me and Rob are going to be hauling oats for Halloween. Are you telling me that you can't go for that? No can do, bro. No can do. Thank you, Eddie.
So, Eddie, you're telling me that the Joey Fatone line does not earn it? I don't care what he could have said. If you don't know the lyrics to Hall & Oates, I don't want to know you. I would have been his Newton to his fig. But no, you ruined it, bro. You tased me. Sky? Well, yeah, I mean, I was real depressed, too, when he didn't know the lyrics. But then when the guy pulls out Joey Fatone. You laughed out loud. I laughed out loud. I mean, I'm sorry, my husband wouldn't know to pull out a Joey Fatone reference. So to me, you're gay. Shawnee, oh boy. Sean, you know the rules. The rules are if you don't know the words. I know the rules. Yeah, if you don't know the words, be funny. No, I know them. Did you hear Joey Fatone? I know them. Calm down, Sean. Joey Fatone. I heard it, Skye. Maybe you're reminding me. What did you think, Sean? What did you think? Come on, Sean. You know what's up. Yes or no? Will you just relax, Sean? Shut your mouth, dude. I'm trying to talk. Whoa, Sean. Listen.
You know, I think he tried very hard. Remember the rules. I am. I'm telling you right now. Sean, remember Hall and Oates. I am. Remember Joey. Sean, you know the words. Hall and Oates, Sean. You know the words. Joey. Two words. Just go with the rules. Daryl Hall and John Oates. Thank you, Eddie. What do you think, Sean? You're the worst. Oh, my God. Sorry, bro. No problem, bro. Thank you. He's even a good sport about it. Yeah. Guy comes in here, he says, I do all I can do. I hung up already. I hung up on him. I hung up. He says, I come in here, I do all I can do. I follow the rules. I don't make it. Hey, listen, it is what it is. You've got to go up against the judges no matter what in life. It was just, that's my hot button, man. You know, all notes, it's no better. You can't go for that. No can do. Hey, I got some more good audio.

Jerks. His tendon. And Ashley. I just have a different way of speaking. There you go. Utilizing the language. The Mikey Show's on. All right. No. That's what I'm talking about. Rock 105.3. Welcome back to the show.
It is 7-17. Oops, sorry. Okay, Lindsay Lohan is back in L.A. and reportedly living in the guest house of a friend because she's almost broke. Hey, in just a few minutes, we're going to be doing cell phone mishaps, and I want to get people lined up for that. I want to explain to you what cell phone mishaps is. If you have ever thought you hung up a phone and you haven't, that's a cell phone mishap. And it could be a cell phone, a home phone, whatever. If you've ever been on the receiving end of that, where someone thought they hung up the phone, but they haven't, that's a cell phone mishap. And basically, we just want to hear what your cell phone mishaps are. 570-1053. What has ever happened where you called somebody on mistake and said something you didn't want them to hear? Or vice versa, where you got called.
and you heard something that you shouldn't have heard because somebody thought they hung their phone up. Tonight, we'll start lining calls up for that. 570-1053. Tonight, Matt Lauer is going to be interviewing Senator Larry Craig. Today, the conservative Idaho Republican, a longtime opponent of gay rights, is fighting to clear his name four months after he was caught in an airport bathroom sexting. With his wife by his side, I sat down with Senator Craig at his home, and we started by talking about that infamous stop at the men's room at the Minneapolis airport. Now, by the way, think about the planning that went into this. So Senator Craig's people said, yeah, yeah, yeah, you can interview him. We would like you to come to his home. It's disarming. If you're a guest in somebody's home, you already feel like it's going to be tough to ask really tough questions. You're a guest. You're on their turf. You're on their turf. You feel uncomfortable. So it'll be interesting to see if it affects Matt Lauer at all because he's a pit bulldog. Oh, yeah. It's June 11th. You are commuting back from here.
To Washington. Like every weekend. Very routine. That's exactly what happens every week. That's his wife. And I don't know that that made it any better. Yeah. I think letting us know that he does this every week. Probably gives him a little bit more information. Gives us more information than we need. You know, like, oh, really? So you do this every week? And you end up. stopping in a bathroom. It may be the most famous bathroom stop of the last 10 years. You end up stopping in a bathroom in what's called North Star Crossing. Were you aware at all, Senator, of the reputation of that specific bathroom? Well, I certainly am now. Were you prior? No, not at all. I walked into a bathroom. I walked into an entrapment and a sting that was going on. And I go to bathrooms to use bathrooms. The senator was arrested that day in June after an undercover officer claimed he solicited him for sex. Six weeks later, Craig pled guilty to disorderly conduct. He didn't tell his wife Suzanne until the story was about to appear in the media. When Larry told me that this story was going to break and he hadn't told me about it before that, I felt like the floor was falling out from under me. It happened right here in this room. And I felt like
Almost like I was going down a drain for a few moments. Why didn't you tell her? It was a tough call, Matt, a very tough call. I've never been arrested in my life. I was very, very embarrassed about it. I wrestled with it. I didn't want to embarrass my wife, my kids, Idaho, and my friends. I sought no counsel. I made a very big mistake. I should have told my wife. I should have told my kids. And most importantly, I should have told counsel. On Monday, Senator Craig appealed a judge's refusal to let him withdraw his guilty plea. Craig believes he did nothing wrong and says he'll continue to serve as a senator. You could resign, Senator. And you know what? It would probably go away. It wouldn't be the same. And Matt, that's the easy way out. You've talked about my history and my record. You know I'm a fighter. That I don't just walk away from a fight. This is the toughest fight of my political life. Mitt Romney, John McCain, Peter Hoekstra, Mitch McConnell. We have an expression in New York, they threw you under the bus. What was it like as a wife to see that happen? Actually, Matt. No, only in New York. Is that right? Only in New York. No, no, Mike.
I must have picked it up when I was there for the draft. Yeah, that's probably where you heard it. Gotcha. Now you're spreading it. Suzanne. It was, for me and for our children, I was very disappointed and very hurt to see some of the people that Larry's worked with and for and supported for years. Forget working. These are friends, weren't they? I was very proud of my association with Mitt Romney. I'd worked hard for him here in the state. I was a co-chair of his... A campaign on Capitol Hill. And he not only threw me under his campaign bus, he backed up and ran over me again. And, you know, you kind of look and blink a little bit. And while they were reacting that way, there were another set of senators who were calling us and saying, what's going on? What can we do to help you? Well, that's going to be on tonight. You're going to see all of that tonight. What time, Sky? Eight o'clock on NBC. Well, there it is. Explains it pretty well. You ever think you hung up with somebody you didn't? They ever call you on mistake? You heard stuff you shouldn't? 570-1053. P1 Elise. Yeah. What's your story?
Well, I'm just a little annoyed because I loaned my brother $5,000 and he hasn't paid me back yet. And, you know, kind of has been avoiding me. But I get this weird phone call and I pick it up and I'm listening and then I hear like slot machines. I'm like, what is this? And I look at my caller ID and it's my brother. And I realize he's in Vegas. How is it that you have no money to pay me back? Right. But you have money to go gamble in Vegas. That's great. Huge problem. Did you talk to him about it? Well, you know, I left him a message on the phone. Once again, he hasn't called me back. Yeah, it's not a surprise. Yeah, maybe don't loan him any more money. Obviously not. Unless if he wins money in Vegas, maybe I'll see where I already loaned him. There you go. He said, go give it to me. Thank you, Elyse. Thanks. Appreciate it. Oh, that sucks. That's brutal, man. I bet most of us have been through a situation where you loan somebody money and you see them doing crazy stuff. The person that doesn't have any money, the person that perpetually doesn't have any money, but then they get like cool stuff. Yeah. I thought you didn't have any money. Right. Where's that coming from? P1 Oscar. Yeah. What's up? Hey, I got a good story. My ex-girlfriend.
Four months ago, we're dating four months. She tells me she's going out with her girlfriends to watch a movie, a chick flick of some sort. So I just sat home, watched TV, get a call about 45 minutes later from her, and come to find out she inadvertently had called me. I listened to this whole conversation. Turns out she's on a date. Shut your mouth. No. What kind of stuff was it saying? It was all first date kind of stuff. Like, hey, where do you work? How long have you been here? How long have you been moved out to California? Oh, wow. I couldn't believe it. And sure enough, she made the mistake of saying, I can't wait to go to this restaurant. I've been wanting to go to it for a while. Well, I couldn't just sit at home, right? No, you didn't. No, you didn't. I had to. Went to the restaurant. Wait, wait, wait. How did you know? Did they say it by name? Did they say by name the place? She said the name, yeah. I knew exactly which restaurant. She talked about that she'd always wanted to go to that. Where were they? Tell us what restaurant. What restaurant? It was in Santa Monica. This is when I lived in Santa Monica. I forgot the name of it. It was a little Mexican food restaurant. Right. But I go up and I tell the valet, I'm like, just hold my heart. It'll only be a second. Oh, wow.
And sure enough, it was just as soon as I walked in that I had a little table for two and I pulled up a chair and I sat down. I'm like, hey, how are you? Oscar, Oscar, Oscar, Oscar, as best you can, describes describe the looks on their faces. It was the most priceless. It was so worth it just to see her face. It was like and she tried to blame it on me. Like, what are you doing here? You know, and. Poor guy had no idea that she had a boyfriend, you know, at the time. So I kind of felt bad for him. So at that point, so let me get this straight. So at that point, she took the tactic of, well, I'm here with this guy. So you're the intruder. You're the weirdo. She took more of the tactic, like, what are you doing? Stalking me? Or what are you doing? I'm like, no, you called me. I suggest you put on the lock on your phone. And so did she, then what happened? Like, I want to know. So then she goes, I'm like, hey, should we order a drink or something? Or what should I do? And she's like, please don't make a scene. I'm like, I'm not making a scene. Can we all just hang out and have a drink or something? That was the movie. It's so awkward. I've never seen somebody so red in my life. She was like morbid. So did you just. Long story short, I just said, hey, are you coming home with me or not? Let's go. And she just.
She said no, and that was the end of that, and never spoke to her again. Wow. Damn. What a breakup. How long had you been dating? Four months. Four months. Yeah, we were just, you know, it was pretty hot and heavy, so it was just kind of weird that it happened so much, you know? Wow. That's crazy, man. All right, thanks for the call. All right, have a good one, guys. Appreciate it. That was P1 to Oscar. P1 to Adeline, are you there? Yes. Go ahead. Hi. This actually isn't really a mishap, but... I have this really old phone, and I actually don't want to get it changed. When someone's calling me, I can actually hear what they're saying while it's ringing. So if they're talking crap on me, I can totally hear it. Because I have friends who will call me, and they'll be like, stupid, this girl never picks up her phone, blah, blah, blah. They just talk so much crap. And I can hear it, and I pick up the phone, and I say, what did you just say? And he's like, what? I was like, I just heard everything you just said while the phone was ringing. And so actually now I don't actually tell people that anymore. I just kind of use it as a way to hear what people are saying. Really? Whoa. Now, wait a minute. What kind of phone do you have? Samsung T509. It's like everyone thinks it's the sliver, but it's actually not. Okay, now wait a minute. Now we got to do this.
You've got to come down to the radio station and let Ashley call you so we can, like, see it in action. Can we do that? Yeah, like, while the phone is ringing, like, you know, the speaker where you're listening into, it actually just, you can hear everything the person's saying. So I've had friends who are calling me like, this bitch never picks up her phone. Pick up your freaking phone, and I can hear. I can hear everything. Are you on your way to work right now? Yeah, I am. Okay, we got to schedule. Is there ever a day off that you have off during the week? Yeah. Can we have you come in and try it? Sure, I'll see if I can do it tomorrow. It's the funniest thing. Okay, hang on, hang on. We'll put you on hold and we'll have Rob tell you how to get here and all that stuff, okay? Okay. Hang on a second. Wouldn't that be great to hear what that sounds like? Yeah, it's crazy. Oh, see that. Yeah, I know there's going to be a rush on those phones now. Right. Can you imagine, though, like you're hearing that go down? No. That is nuts. P1JP. Hi. My husband had gotten off the phone with his mom's best friend because we usually have his son come over on the weekends and hang out. I'm lost. I'm already lost. I'm already lost. I'm already lost. I'm already lost. So his mom has a best friend who has a kid who plays with their kid.
Yeah, he comes over and hangs out with our kids. Okay. And, well, he thought he hung up the phone, his cell phone. His mom's best friend. He got a call from his cousin, and he was sitting there talking about how she cheats on her husband. She's with security guards, other people. The kid isn't her husband. It's obvious. And the cell phone was never hung up, and she sat there for a half an hour listening to it all. And her kid plays with your kid. Yeah. Wow. Well, was it true? Yeah, the great question was that... Yes, it was true. He wasn't saying anything that wasn't true. Okay. Did she... And it's obvious the son is not, you know, her husband. Right. How can he be so stupid as to think that he is?
Yeah, he avoided her like the plague for like two years. He wouldn't go to any family function or anything. That's crazy. How did he get called on it? What did she do? She's like, hello, you might want to hang up your cell phone. So she listened for 30 minutes and then finally. She sat there and she listened. And then finally started making noise so that he picked up the phone and went, hello? Yeah, she's like screaming at him. Well, after 30 minutes. Yeah. Yeah, after 30 minutes. She listened to it and then said, okay, I've had enough. Yeah, after it got boring. Yeah. It started to get, it turned to sports and she was bored. Thanks for the call. Wow. I'm so careful with my cell phone now ever since we started doing this segment. No, I know. I like double, triple check. Well, you have to. I don't want to say anything you don't want people to hear. So coming up next, I'm going to play you the audio of Meredith Vieira. asking Donald Trump about an interview that they did together where after the interview he said it was the dumbest interview he'd ever done. She confronts him about it. Play the audio next. You are listening to The Mikey Show. Indeed you are.

A.I.S. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Hey, the ride's pretty tough here this morning on the 805 northbound. That is a struggle out of Chula Vista from H Street all the way to North Park. Then again out of Cranny Mesa over the 52. That's infecting the West 94. Backed up in the 125 now. Struggling to Lemon Grove all the way to the 805. More break nights from Home Avenue in the downtown. And the coaster ride, South on 5, quite heavy from La Costa to Solana Beach. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105.3. Now, back to Mikey. I am short, shaved, Mexican. Bald head. Eddie. When I don't eat, I become a different person. Sky. Yes, I'm not the only liberal person in the world. Sean. I routinely obsess about the cleanliness of my windshield. Boston Rob. I have this when I'm merging from the 805 to the 8. You're afraid that it'll collide? Yes. And Ashley. Hygiene is very... Very, very important to me. The Mikey Show's on. Something supernatural is going on. Rock 105.3. It's a Mikey Show. Welcome back. It is 738. A man was robbed of his Apple iPhone at an East County bus stop by a teenager with a taser. Man, those Rockies are red hot. They're going to the World Series. They swept the Diamondbacks winning game four, six to four.
That's why we should always carry around a little recorder that says, don't tase me, bro. And we can use it in any given situation if some teenager wants our iPhone. The music of the rock band, the X's. NBC's Today Show, Meredith Vieira. is talking to Donald Trump, who's making some rounds. Eddie, do you know if he's got The Apprentice coming back or it's back or why is he in the news so much? I actually do not know. I haven't heard of him coming back. There was some little rumor about a celebrity version of The Apprentice, but I haven't heard anything about it yet. He's on Pageant Place. What is that? It's a show on MTV. Pageant Place? Yeah, it's a reality show on MTV. It's pretty good.
It's actually pretty good. Sean. How? It started last week. Eddie, how? How? He's the best. Okay, I agree. How does he watch them all? How is it possible to watch every television program on TV? The guy works like 18 hours a day. Where does he find time to watch TV? And I get the ones, I get how he watches everything on the major networks. But how does Sean even know to TiVo pageant place on MTV? I've never even heard of it. How does he even know it exists? You guys are forgetting about Quincy on the Hallmark Channel. Well, I get it because he likes those shows. He's always liked those shows. He fits that in too, though. No, but I don't even understand how Sean knows that pageant place exists. So how does he even know that TiVo exists? Sean, how do you know pageant place exists? I believe I read an article about it in, I want to say Entertainment Weekly, but I'm not 100% sure. But I read something about it and I thought, oh, this will be good. I'll record it. What is it? Well, you go ahead, Sean. Well, it's about three beauty pageant winners. There's Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and...
Is it Miss Universe? Yes. The other one? Yes. And they all live in an apartment together, a flat in New York City. And it's about how they fulfill their duties with regard to these pageants. And they're all like, you know, Trump pageants. But the twist is they bring back the dethroned Miss USA, the one that had the drug problem. Tara Connor. Tara Connor. Tara Connor. Tara Connor. And, you know, there's a lot of bad blood between, you know, her and, believe it or not, Miss Teen USA. Yes. Wow. They used to be best friends. And Miss Teen USA was the one who ratted her out to the organization about her coke habit and said that, you know, she witnessed Tara Conner doing coke. So then they brought Tara Conner back the very first episode. And what happened? Um, they haven't really gotten, that was at the very end of the episode, so they haven't really, like, shown what's going to happen yet. So there's only good one? Yeah, last week. But I thought it was interesting that, according to Tara Conner, she says that Miss Teen USA ratted her out because Miss Teen USA thought that she was making moves on her boyfriend. Yes. Like, trying to get her boyfriend. Which, if you look at her boyfriend, like, he's nothing to write home about. Tara Conner's boyfriend?
No, Miss Teen USA's boyfriend. Yeah. Like, Tara Conner's going to want Miss Teen USA's boyfriend. It's like, it's so ludicrous. It is so ludicrous because he's really not even that cute. Not at all. He's totally not cute. It's a good episode. Yeah, it was really good. And how does Trump fit into all this? I know these are his pageants. Yeah, he's in charge of it all. So they'll go meet with him. He narrates the whole thing. Do they win anything? Are they competing for something? They win dinner with me. No, it's their lives and what they do to fulfill their duties with regard to the pageants. Right. I'm not kidding you, P1s. Sean will be like, hey, Mike, have you seen Dog Nation on Animal Planet? It doesn't matter. Like, you can name a show. He's either seen it and not liked it or he's seen it, liked it, and watches it regularly. Along with all the big ones, every major. Primetime show. And still finds time to fit in Quincy and all of the... Matlock. Yeah, Matlock. Bad movies. Bad movies. All of them. That's not true. That is true. It's not true, actually. From Justin to Kelly, come on. That's good stuff right there. It's good. The music is good. The dancing is good. What does it matter with you? I don't know. What does it matter with you? Wow. In your face, Eddie. No. Thank you, Ashley. No.
Wow, well, we sure learned a lot, didn't we? Yes. Very interesting. So here it is. From the Today Show, Meredith Vieira asking Donald Trump about an interview he did with her where he called it the dumbest interview he'd ever done. Cut 23. But is there a line that you wouldn't cross? Oh, there's always a line, but when somebody attacks, you go after that person. You just go after that person. You attack me a little bit, just a little bit. And I a little bit went after you, but very, very nice. I also said you're a wonderful woman. Oh, you mean in the book where we were talking about the road? I did say it was a lousy interview, but that's okay. You said it was the dumbest interview, if I was quoting correctly, the dumbest interview you've ever done. Well, I was actually here to talk about the success of The Apprentice and how well it was doing and that it was going on again. And you sort of brought up another subject. Well, I brought up Rosie because that was in the headlines. That's what you were talking about at the time. And you bring that up again in your book. You're still talking about Rosie. No, no, no. Very little tiny section. I devote much less than she devoted about me in her book. I can tell you that. In any way, shape, or form, are you still trying to get even with her? No. What's to get even? I mean, I think it came out very well. Most people agree with me. Rosie's a degenerate. We understand that. Oh, my God.
That guy is something else, man. Here he, in this one, and this was with Larry King Live. Here's the joke that he makes about her on Larry King Live, cut two. What was your relationship like between you and Rosie prior to the feud? It was okay. I was never a friend. She came to my wedding. She ate like a pig. And the wedding cake was, it was like missing in action. I couldn't stand her. I didn't like, but a particular woman wanted her at the wedding. Marla. She ate like a pig? Tell us how you really feel. I don't believe that at all. You guys don't believe that Rosie ate like a pig? I don't believe she ate like a pig. I do. Now, wait a minute. It depends on what we mean like that. Do I believe that she stuck her face down into the plate? No. Is it so far out of the realm of possibility that she ate a lot? Do I believe that Donald had a second to actually observe that Rosie was eating like a pig at his wedding? Yes. No. I'm sure. I believe that's the kind of stuff he observes. I'm sure he was on the top of it. Yeah, exactly. I barely remember what happened on my wedding. You're not like Donald Trump, dude. You're not that kind of evil person. Because there weren't hundreds of people at his wedding run. If somebody would have came up to me at my wedding and goes... One of them is Rosie O'Donnell. Yeah, if somebody would have came up to me at my wedding and goes, Dude, check out...
So-and-so. Yeah. They are eating so much cake, bro. I would have looked at that, observed it, and went, oh, wow, that is interesting. Yeah. I mean, and even if they hadn't have said it, even if they hadn't have said it, on your wedding day, you observe all kinds of things. And Rosie O'Donnell, the star of many movies, going back and forth to a cake thing. No. That's one of them. Or. That's one of the things that you go. You don't miss that. You don't miss that. Exactly. Give me up. Or. Oh, really? No, no, no. Or you could just totally be in a feud with her and she's fat or so he says and make a joke. That is possible as well. I mean, he shoots so low and says stuff that's so crappy. He can just pull it out of his word. Or not. Or so. You don't know. Were you there? Were you there, Eddie? No, were you? You're saying that it's impossible for him to have observed that. No, I totally think that's... It's very unlikely. Why? Eddie, you were even saying when you got married how quickly it all went by and how you were just like, whoa. What did I just say, though?
So the chances, though, of hundreds of people being at that wedding. If Rosie was at my wedding, I would have observed her. What? Well, but Rosie isn't a big celebrity at the Trump function. Literally. I'm sure she is. How dare you? She's a celebrity. She was hotter back when he married Marla Mapert. She was hotter in her career than she is now. She was one of the many celebrities. It's not like she was standing out. But she was probably the biggest celebrity. Got it? All right. She's a celebrity. We get it. That was a fat joke. Yeah, well, no, we got it. You don't have to explain it. I don't know. Listen, the show's been going on now for two hours, and we haven't heard a peep out of Boston Rob. I've been on the phones. I've been dying to get back in here. It's good to be back, everyone. I'm glad you're here. Here's a clip of Donald Trump. Here's a clip of Donald Trump kind of on Larry King Live. Kind of accusing Larry of something. Uh-oh. Cut one. Now, let's take a chapter in the book called Revenge. You recommend it. A lot of people say revenge, or like carrying a grudge, works against the grudge carrier. It's very therapeutic, Larry. You're a revenge person. I know you very well. You're a revenge person. It's a very therapeutic way of taking care of your own head. Have you always been that way? Yeah, I think so. You were that way in school as a kid? I think so. You got even.
I think get even. I think get even. Don't you? Yeah, you like it, but I don't like to carry it, though. If it carries too much, it's... You like to carry it. I know you... Hey, Larry, I know you for a long time, and you carry it, huh? Let's talk about... People don't know that about you, but I do. Whoa! Larry, first of all, didn't deny it. Yeah. And then tried to, like, skate around it, but... Yeah. Sounds like he nailed him. Ashley, I can tell. We all choose to believe something. I choose to believe that what he is saying is true. I'm not saying that's a healthy way to go about my business. I'm being honest about what I'm choosing to believe. Ashley would like to believe that all of these things that Donald Trump is saying are simply not true. Why?
All of them. What do you believe? Because you've heard two clips. One of him saying that Larry King holds grudges and gets revenge. The other one of him saying that at his wedding, Rosie O'Donnell was pigging out. Right. I think the pigging out comment was completely made up. I just think that that's a low blow at Rosie. Okay. Rosie O'Donnell. I mean, he doesn't care, calling her a degenerate, whatever. What about Larry King? Yeah, the Larry King thing, actually, you made a good point because the clip ended. We didn't hear him respond, but, I mean, that could be true. Isn't it a fact that you're a Rosie O'Donnell fan? Not since she got on The View and got crazy. I'm not necessarily such a huge fan anymore. I think there's a little love for Rosie still left in that little heart. Well, she has to be my idol. Rosie O'Donnell, too. So I really used to look up to her. I used to want my own show just like her when she'd make her own desks every day, and it was really cool. All right, all right. Please, now you're depressing me. Cut three. You say George Clooney is little and much shorter in person. I don't know George Clooney, but I met him once. Is he? I think so, yeah. I think you're tall, but it doesn't matter. I did a chapter on perception. The perception of George Clooney is he's a big, strong, handsome guy. He's a handsome guy. He's a nice guy. I mean, I don't really know him. I met him once. Nice guy.
So I'm not saying anything bad about him. I'm just saying this was a chapter on perception in business and life and different things. One of the perceptions I had of George Clooney was he's this big, strong guy. And he was very little when I met him. It's okay. Nothing wrong with it. He's doing just fine. What the hell? I have a theory on Donald Trump. A mini-mini. Please. I have a theory on Donald Trump. What do you got? Well, I would say that, you know, a few years back. We as the American people did not know this of Donald Trump. Like this wasn't our perception of Donald Trump. Our perception of Donald Trump was he's a rich guy. He's a billionaire or whatever. Savvy businessman. Savvy businessman. Okay. So we didn't know much about him. And now one of the things that we label him as is this.
mean guy that'll say anything about anyone. And if you cross his path, you know, he will unleash on you. And so my theory is that Donald Trump has been very systematically creating this perception, not necessarily for television and the fact that it makes him more interesting on television. I believe that's a byproduct of the real agenda. I believe that the real agenda is to create an element of fear in his business dealings, not ratings, not like it's cool that people will watch more and like he enjoys that as a byproduct. But the real deal is, is that in his daily business dealings with people, he's creating a perception that if you cross me, I'm going to destroy you verbally in the public in dealings. That's my theory. I could be wrong. That gives him a lot of credit. You want to hear what he has to say about Angelina Jolie? Oh my gosh. Why does he have to have a comment about everybody? It's not favorable. Oh really? I thought he was going to be glowing. No, no, no. And you know what it has to do with? What? Her beauty. Oh my gosh. He disagrees. Son of a... Next.

The topic of everything came up. Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie. Oh, my God. He threw some stuff in there about Clooney for no reason. He even said that Larry is a person that holds grudges and likes to get revenge. Of course, Rosie O'Donnell. You know, his greatest hits. It's basically Trump's greatest hits. But here he is talking about Angelina Jolie. Cut four. Angelina Jolie is sort of amazing because everyone thinks she's like this great beauty. And I'm not saying she's an unattractive woman, but she's not a great beauty by any stretch of the imagination.
And now she's like a representative of the United Nations and world peace and hunger and all of this crap. And I remember at the Academy Awards a few years ago, she was Frenching her brother. She was giving her brother look kisses like I never saw before in my life. And she had just said she made love to Billy Bob Thornton in the back of the limousine on the way over. Now, I wouldn't want to shake her hand, by the way. You know, you get back into that. I wouldn't want to have shaken her hand. But she's being interviewed and she's all over the guy. About three weeks later, we got caught cheating with about 15 different girls, and she was gone. But she had just made love with him coming over to the Academy Awards. And now she's like this great beauty who is representing world peace and the United Nations. It's called Give Me a Break. But she's not, in terms of beauty, she's not a great beauty. She's a nice-looking woman. She's okay, but she's not a great beauty. Oh, my gosh. Well, here are my thoughts and feelings, Mr. Trump. He's absolutely right. There's no doubt about it. He's right. He's right. And there are going to be people that look at it and go, boy, yeah, I never really thought about it that way. That's true. Of course, the way that I look at it is, well, hey, bro, you know, some people grow up and they try to do the right. I mean, she's trying to do the right thing. You can't. I mean, it would almost be more horrific if she's still that same, you know.
Goofball. But what about him saying that she's not a great beauty? You know, it could be a break. She's a great beauty. How do you say she's not a great beauty? She's one of the most gorgeous women on the planet. Who do you guys think is hotter? Melania, his wife, or Angelina? She's like weird looking to me. Yeah, see, everybody's got their flavor, obviously. His flavor is like Yugoslavian. Yeah, you're right. It's always these women that, you know, talk. It's like a Cheshire cat or something. Well, his flavor is green acres. It's a hello, darling. Oh, wow. Every time you see one of his wives, it's... But whatever. Dang. Crazy. I just made a very controversial decision with my family. Eddie stopped me and said, please discuss this on the air. This is awesome. Well, it's a controversial decision. What is it? Well... My wife wants to go to this pumpkin patch. I had to make the executive decision that we will not be returning to the same pumpkin patch. That we're going to go to a different pumpkin patch. And it's very controversial because she wants to be able to take Jake, our son, to the same pumpkin patch she grew up going to as a kid. Okay. And we're not going to be going there.
To the pumpkin patch. And why? What's the reasoning? Yeah, what's the prob? Well, I went to this pumpkin patch for the first time last year. And the pumpkin patch is somewhere near Nevada. It's in Valley Center. Right. Same thing. Right. No, not same thing. Right. I knew there was a casino right next door. Shut up. It's Valley Center. Come on. So, first of all, now, let's see. If you're, like, around the 5 in Oceanside, it takes about six, seven hours by car. No, it does not. Or a two-hour plane ride. Right, or a two-hour plane ride. Just stick to the back. All I know is I needed my passport the last time we went. You did. Stop it. So, when you finally get there, Eddie, I want you to picture, like, the Garlic Festival parking at the Garlic Festival where it's a big, giant field. Okay.
Sea of cars in a big giant field. Okay. As far as I can see. Cars. All right. And it's not paved. It's just out in the middle of a field. So as you're taking the stroller to wherever you're going, you're like, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Over all of these. Dirt. Yeah, dirt. It's a field. Okay. Okay. And as they're bringing cars in and taking cars out, you're like. as all the dust is coming up from the wheels. It's the truth. Just stick to the back. We get the gist. It's dusty everywhere. I believe him. I'm not kidding you. As these cars are leaving, it looks like somebody has dusted them in baby powder. Oh, look. Mount St. Helens went off again. It's probably a little dusty. It's probably like Cairo. Yeah.
Look at the cars leaving here. Did the cedar fires happen again? Oh, no. Really? I'm telling you the dust is everywhere. It's dusty. So you... With the stroller. That was an overreaction. Then you get to the pumpkin patch, okay? And there is... This place is very popular. So there's 950 people per square inch. as you're trying to look for a pumpkin. And of course, the pumpkin that you want is the same pumpkin that the person next to you wants. And so they're all like, it's like mad dashes for pumpkins and people are grabbing the... It's like the day after Thanksgiving sale. Yes. And then you want to take a picture with the kid who is by this time miserable. Oh, come on. The kid is miserable by this point because...
And, you know, he's also just gone across the Oregon Trail in what amounts to a wagon with big wooden wheels. Okay. Oh, my gosh. Stick to the story. So you're putting your kid there, but you can't really take a picture because you're in someone else's shot. And so you're waiting for them to move so you can take your picture. And you're all, like, sort of trying to take it. Can you take a picture for me? No, not like, can you? It's so confusing. It sounds like a nightmare. It's a nightmare. Yeah, it sounds like a nightmare. Please. So then, once you have picked said pumpkin, one of you carries it, while the other of you deals with the stroller and the baby, and you get in line. To pay for the pumpkin? To pay for the pumpkin. Okay. Which, because there's 950,000 people, takes forever standing in the line to check out with your pumpkin. Then, you get to walk with your 900-pound pumpkin back to your now fully engulfed and dusty car. And you can't find your car because they all look the same now. They're all covered in dust. I'm sure. Which one's mine? I'm sure. Oh, where's my car? Because they're all...
Covered in dust. Oh, no. I stood in the line. I'm never going to find my car. Oh, my gosh. I walked by me. I got this big pumpkin, and I'm so dusty. Where's my car? Okay. I just, you know, I understand everything you're saying. Well, here's the deal. So my thought is, why don't we just go to one of the smaller pumpkin patches everywhere? Start a new tradition. Start a new tradition. Not to mention the fact that Jake doesn't get it. At this age, at this age, at this age. He will. He will. At this age, he doesn't get it. In fact, I may be even willing to open dialogue again when he's a little older and maybe he's walking and we're not trying to take a stroller across the dusty trail. What are your wife's feelings? What's the matter with that? I think that's fair. Well, I'd like to know Rebecca's feelings. Don't know yet. Well, you wait. Didn't you tell her this? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I haven't heard a response yet. This isn't about you, Mike. She just absorbed it quietly. No, no, no. She wrote me an email this morning. Okay. She said, hey, don't forget the pumpkin patch thing is coming up. We got to go back out to the pumpkin patch. Uh-huh. And I wrote her back. I said, no problem, just not that one. Oh. And she hasn't responded to that yet. Well, not yet. Should we get her on the way? Oh, maybe we should call her. Yeah, because.
Personally, you know, I'm a big believer in family traditions. And so we know Alan. So if this is if she's taking that stand like this is a family tradition, I'm taking a stand. Now, hold on. Don't do words. You're making this. You're making. I said, I said, if she is, then I fully support that. But if she's OK with it, it's all about it's all about compromise. OK, it's all about compromise. See, I wanted to. spank Jake as a method of discipline. I was spanked growing up. I was spanked. Eddie was spanked. A lot of us were spanked. So I wanted to spank him. But she says, well, I wasn't spanked. And I turned out okay. I don't think you can make this comparison. I turned out great. Why can't I make this comparison? If we're being honest. Because there's new child experts that say that spanking is not the way to go. It's just like saying, oh, my mom drank when she was pregnant with me, so that's cool. Let me ask you something. I enjoyed it. I turned out fine. Skye, did you know that there is now yet another method of dealing with children in terms of discipline? What's that? Well, it went from spanking to what, Skye?
to not spanking, to not use a physical force. And what turned into the big form of discipline? Time out. You got it. Not anymore. Oh, what do we got now? Don't do that. Don't do the time outs anymore, Skye. What? Now they do, and my wife is on the line. Honey, what is the new form of discipline called? Self-calming. Self-calming. I'll tell you all about it in just a second. Oh, my God. I'll tell you all about it in just a second, Skye. Sky hasn't heard it. She's in. Sky hasn't heard it. She's in. No, it sounds interesting. Sky hasn't heard it. She's in. I didn't say I'm in. I'd like to hear it. I'd like to hear it. Sky. I'd like to hear it. I did not say I'm in. I didn't say I'm in. You know you're in. I didn't say I'm in. I'd like to hear it. You are a clown. I'd like to hear it. But anyway, the topic at hand. Yes. Let's focus. Is the pumpkin patch. Uh-oh. Oh, no. Honey, did you get my email back? No, I haven't gotten it yet. I was on the phone with my mom. Oh. You can tell her. Go check real quick. Tell her in, Mike. What? You said back. Your reply. Oh, no. I just said. Oh, no. I don't want to go to the pumpkin patch you were taken to growing up. I don't want to go there anymore. Okay, well, listen.
I'm okay with that right now, and I actually kind of figured you would say that, which is why I didn't put, when do you want to go to Bates Nut Farm? Oh, it has a name. Yeah, it's called Bates Nut Farm, and I went there growing up when I was a kid. I know. And my mom was cool enough to take me there and let me pick out my pumpkin and actually pick it from the vine. Which is really great because it's the only pumpkin patch in America that does that. To pick it from the vine? You can go to Walmart, bro, and buy one. Did you hear? Pick it from the vine. Who cares? It's more work. It's more festive. Why don't you go cut down your own Christmas tree? I used to go up to the Santa Cruz mountains every year. I have pictures. I used to cut down my own Christmas tree every year. Wait a minute. Wait a second. The biggest tree hugger in the world is up there cutting down trees. You mean the holiday tree? That was before. That was before. Now I have a fake holiday tree that I've been using for the last eight years. You're awful. Anyway, I figured you would not want to go back to Bates Nut Farm.
And that's okay with me this year because Jake doesn't really get it, and that's okay with me. In the future, though, it's really important for me to take him there. But this year, I still want to take him to a pumpkin patch, but it doesn't have to be there. It can be the one, you know, like the local. It could be anyone. It could be anyone. Yeah, but it's very important for us to take him. Yes. It's important to me for us to take him. Tradition. As I said earlier on the air, you weren't listening. I said I am certainly open to dialogue about when he's older, taking him back to Bates Nut Farm. So you're not willing to agree, but you'll have dialogue in the future. We'll certainly have dialogue about it in the future. Well, what about this here? Are you okay taking him to the local? Oh, sure. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. And I also realize, to me, that's a compromise as well. I don't feel it's necessary because it's for us. That's for us. Right. But it's still important for me. My wife. Oh. Listen, I love you very much. I know it's important to you. Of course. Of course. Of course. She's a big pumpkin fan. Of course. Now, self-calming. No. Don't get into it. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. And at Sky, you're fine with the pumpkin stuff, right? Um, yeah.
I'm okay with it, Skye. Yeah, if Rebecca's okay with it, I mean, you know, if it was me, I would want to guarantee that next year we were going out to Bates Nut Farm. Next year? Why next year? Because I know how Mike is. I know how Mike is. And when this dialogue occurs, he's going to say the same crap he's saying this year. You know what, Skye? I'm not worried about it. I basically have a guarantee without him saying it. Okay, perfect. I love it. Wait a second, wait a second, wait a second, wait a second. I love it. I don't know that next year is... Maybe not, but I might not feel that way either. It's all I'm going to have to assess at the time. It depends on what... It's when you decide, right, Rebecca? Yes, actually. I'm fine with that. She's a very fair lady. Oh! If I don't think he's old enough to get it, then why bother taking him there? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Once he's old enough to get it, we're taking him. If you're asking me, I think he'll probably start to get it around 30, 31, something like that. Honestly, I think he would probably get it about four years old, five years old. How dare you? We'll see. Four years old. And that's when you guys will start going back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When he was like, yeah. Four? I think then it's closer to three, but that's okay. It's up to Rebecca. Yep, it is. It's up to Rebecca. It actually is. All right, it's up to Rebecca. Just like when he plays football, it's up to Mike. Yeah.
That's right. Just like the first hunting trip is up to me. I grew up doing it, honey. I grew up doing it. Incredible memories about it. Oh, boy. I'm sorry. It's the truth. It's the truth. Self-calming. I need it right now. Self-calming. I'm sorry to ruin it, but speaking of self-calming, our son is pretty upset, so I need to go get him. Okay, babe. So I love you. Love you, too. Bye-bye. Ready, Skye? Go. Never heard of this before, so you can't assume I'm in or out. Let me tell you about self-calming. Because the truth is, is that I do see the analogy of like, listen, it wasn't a tradition, but in Rebecca's family, she was raised without spanking. And we vehemently disagreed. I didn't believe that spanking had long-lasting... I felt that it was a good form of discipline. I felt that there was like a appropriate way and an inappropriate way to spank. I don't think that you spank out of fury and anger or, you know, I believe that you do it in an appropriate way. She said I wasn't raised that way. I was never hit. And I said, OK, well, listen, I think that we will do it your way. Because the truth is, is that if I could do it another way besides hitting my son, I'd like to do it that way.
And so that's the way we're going to do it. We're going to do the timeout. Except that, and this is something I have to fight all through life, is this concept of, oh my goodness, give me a break with it. So first you can't spank. Then it goes to the timeouts. And now they've got this self-calming. Here's the concept. Skye, give me a situation where a kid's done something wrong. You come up with a scenario for me. You've repeatedly told your child that they need to eat their food, they need to eat their vegetables, and they decide to take their vegetables and throw them against the wall. Okay. Perfect example. So what you do is the kid is now obviously lost their temper and they're doing something that is sort of out of control. So what you do is you have a designated place in the house, okay?
That will be the self-calming room, right? And you take the child to the self-calming room. And what you do is, is you explain to them that when they are ready to behave, they know the rules. And so what they need to do is they need to calm themselves to a point where they feel, okay, I'm calm. I was upset. But I'm not any longer. I'm now calm. And I'm now ready to adhere to the rules. And so I can come back into the environment. And what it does is it empowers the child. The child has now made the decision for themselves that they are calm and that they are ready to come back into the situation. It hasn't punished them. In effect, it's given them the power to know that they've broken a rule and that they're now ready. to come back into the environment and the situation and act appropriately. Boston Rob has a question. No, not a question. It sounds a lot like jail, kind of. Because, you know, when you get locked up... Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Actually, Rob, when you go to jail, you get a sentence. And you go to jail for a certain amount of time. Or I'm saying when you get... Like, if you're being disorderly and you get thrown in the hole or something... What? The hole?
Or when you're getting locked up, there are certain things. Like, they'll take you out of a holding cell and put you all by yourself. You're jumping way too far ahead, bro. I'm saying that's what it kind of reminds me of. You're jumping way too far ahead. Because even in the situation where you're already in jail and you do something wrong, you go to the hole for a given period of time, as far as I understand. Yeah, and I said that wrong. I meant like... When you're in, you know, a main jet or when you're just getting held for, let's say, like a night or a couple nights, right? And you're in with a group of people. If you start acting up, they'll pull you out and they'll put you in a separate thing all by yourself. And they'll say, you know, if you can calm down, you know, after a certain amount of time. Okay. Calm yourself. We'll bring you back out into the public. Perfect. He speaks of what he knows. Yes, yes, yes. Perfect. That's how I relate. Good example of self-calming. Very, very good. Very good. Very good. So, Sky. Thank you, Boston Rock. So, Skye, what do you think of self-calming? Well, to me, it sounds just like timeout the way that I've learned about timeouts, except for the fact that you don't put a time limit on it. Because the way I learned about timeouts is kind of the same thing. You should, if you can, always have it be one specific area that they do the timeout in, and you explain to them you need to calm down, you explain to them what they did wrong.
You need to stay here for X amount of time. And when you're calmed down and you can behave like the rest of the family, that's when you can come back. Exactly. So it's just like that to me, except there's no time limit on it. The child decides when they're calmed down. Yes, it is. As far as I can see, it's pretty much like that. I like it. I mean, I think obviously with any parenting technique. It's going to be different with every child. Like, some child is going to be devious. Kids don't have that capability. It depends on the age. Hang on, Eddie. Hang on. It depends on the age. How can you say that? Crazy. Calm down, Eddie. Let me tell you. Hang on. Calm down, Eddie. Hang on. What the hell is going on here? I don't think it's a horrible idea by any means. What's the matter with her, Mike? I think it depends on the child. Let me explain. She's not. My wife, my wife presented this to me and she said, you know, let's discuss.
Unlike if Skye were my wife, where she would say, oh, honey, I want to inform you what we're going to be doing. You don't know that. You don't know that. It's garbage. My husband and I are a team. It's garbage. It's garbage. Anyway. To your mom. My husband would never retail a pumpkin patch. Okay, Eddie. Calm down. So I said to my wife, well, you see, honey, the problem that I have with the self. Soothing. Self-calming. Self-medicating. Self-medicating. Oh, no, no, that's not it. The problem that I have with the self-calming is that it doesn't mirror life. In life, when you screw up, the police department or the judge doesn't say to you, I tell you what, what I'm going to do is I'm going to send you to jail. And as soon as you feel like you can work your way back into society and not break the law anymore,
You can come out. That's not the way it works. What happens is there are rules. And if you break the rules, there are consequences. And it's called when you do the crime, you've got to do the time. And it works pretty good in society. In fact, we've been doing it for many, many, many years with a great deal of success. And so my wife, because she is a reasonable woman, said, you got it, honey. Makes sense to me. Well, that's nice for the two of you. I believe the way you describe self-calming, it does, you know, have a place in adulthood. It's not even a punishment. There are plenty of times. You don't learn. The kid just figures it out and goes, you know what? I'm good. I'm good. Let me out. Hey, if it's a punishment in jail and it's good for your kid. Why are you letting me out? I'm ready. I'm fine. But isn't that kind of what probation is? We are going to let you out. You be good. If you're bad, you come back. With probation, with probation, there's a period of time that goes by and then you can get probation. You're right. You're right. There's a period of time that goes by. There are people who just get probation. Oh, I see what you're saying. Well, that would be like this then. Your kid throws his food against the wall and you say to him, listen.
Usually I give you a timeout. Right now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to tell you, if you do it again, your timeout's going to be double. But you get a break this time. That's the equivalent of probation. Well, and I also think it's good in adulthood because it teaches you to think about your actions. So I think it would prevent people from getting in trouble. Like there's plenty of times when I'm ready to snap and I just go. No, no, no. That is the idea behind it. That's the idea behind it. And it will curb. We're talking about children. These aren't adults. Yes. You are able to take a step and go breathe. Right. A child is not able to do that. They're maniacs. They lose their mind. They're little insane people. They're not mature. They're learning how to do that. They're little insane people. They're learning. They don't learn like that, like you and I as adults. Little people don't learn. As adults, they don't learn like adults. They do learn, but I think Eddie's right. They are little insane people. They are little insane people. They are. Thank you, Sean. I missed it, too. It was awesome. They're kids. They're kids. Come on. You're unbelievable. Maybe you're unbelievable. You're the worst. Maybe you should go in the corner, face the wall, think about the way you're acting, and when you can act appropriate, come back to this radio show. Maybe I should just take my belt off and whip you a little bit. And that's when I call the coppers. P1 Amanda's on the line and says that her sister tried it, worked real good. Amanda, are you there? I'm here.
So your sister tried the self-calming method. Yeah, she did. She did start out, like, you know, smacking hands and spanking, but she didn't like to do that, and it didn't always work. So she would send him away to his room and tell him, you know, you need to think about what you just did, and you need to come back when you can say you're sorry or, you know, whatever it was he'd done. And when he came back, he would usually kind of feel contrite and sorry, and she'd tell him, you know, these are the consequences when you do certain things. and you need to stop and she would try to teach him that you know certain actions are going to bring certain consequences and it always worked quite well he was kind of a wild child so once he hit like nine and ten it worked very well so he was allowed to uh come back into the room and you know watch tv again as soon as he decided that he was calm and he could come back into the environment to an extent if he'd thrown something on the floor he would have to go clean up his mess and usually he was kind of in trouble. Go to his room, play Xbox, have a latte. It was great. Awful punishment. Awful. No, actually, she's pretty good about that. You don't know kids these days, bud. The problem is... Fisher Price are doing amazing things like this. The problem is... Is that you are not, I believe, in mirroring life. Now, see, I actually... I appreciate the call, man. I'm glad it worked for your sister and more power to her.
But I do believe in marrying life. Now, if I'm going to stand by my own rules of marrying life, then my wife's way of doing the timeout is better than my way of spanking. Because in life, the judge doesn't, like, take a belt to you. He punishes you. You go away. Depends where you live. He punishes you. You go away. You go to a place where you're by yourself. You're confined. And that's what life is when you break the rules. For a certain amount of time. For a certain amount of time. It's like being grounded. Right. Right. Exactly. You mirror a life and you get like one of those dog crates. You know, it kind of looks like a cage and you give him like, I don't know, one hour in the dog crate until he learns. Well, that. Thank you, Boston Rob. I don't know that that would work, Rob. I don't know that that is really the desire. He'll have water in there. Come on. That's a joke. You're not a beast. That's how I grew up. And look at you now. Tough love is tough love. Yeah, I'm fine. Boston tattooed on his throat. Now Rebecca is arguing again for it. Oh, no. Now she's IMing me. She's saying...
It's supposed to empower your child to learn natural consequences and puts control of their behavior in their hands, not yours, which absolutely mirrors life. Wrong. Incorrect. It does not. Because it is not a natural consequence to be able to be done with your time and go, okay, I'm done. You know what? I'm happy now. I've decided I'm going to be in a good mood now. And you don't get to do that in life. Ask that as somebody that's sitting in a drunk tank. You know what? I'm sober now. Can I go? Yeah, I'm all good. I'm all good. I'm sorry I did it. Can I go? No, you can't. That's not the way life works. On a rock 105.3. I didn't do it. Get me out of here. I need help. Not gobbledygook. Aladdin Bail Bonds stops the gobbledygook. You just going to sit there, have them throwing a fit, and have them self-calm in public? Yeah, go to the frozen food section, Billy. Calm down for a little while. You immediately leave. You drop everything. You leave your grocery cart full of groceries, and you leave. That's true, too. You can't do that. She's right. My sister did it. That's what you got to do, because you're the boss. I am thinking that.
It's very inconvenient, though. It's an inconvenient truth, but... Did you have to... Available on DVD. I thought that was great. I thought that was really good. Thanks, John. Nicely done, kid. Dear Mikey, I can really appreciate your parenting skills. I, too, consider myself to be an awesome dad. I agree with everything you say. You're going to challenge me for father of the year. Warmly. I better throw it away then. Yeah, throw it away. Mikey at rock1053.com. Mikey, I just started dating my girlfriend. I met her from a friend's girlfriend. She tried to text her friend to find out dirt on me and sent it to me instead. Oh, no. Cell phone mishap. Whoopsie. You know, we got to add that next time we do cell phone mishaps is text. I think I've done that before. Texts happen. It can happen when you're in the middle of, if you're in the middle of texting somebody and somebody texts you in the middle of you texting somebody, you can easily do it. Yeah, that happens all the time with IM too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, because you'll be typing an IM, another IM pops up and you're immediately typing in that window.
Mm-hmm. Dear Mikey, I agree with your wife, Rebecca. I grew up going to Bates Nut Farm as well, and I have fond memories of going there on field, trips with my family. However, it makes more sense when children are older because you just let them run around in the pumpkin patch while you sip on your Arnold Palmer and bask in the October sun, breathing in all the dust. Sounds lovely. Just buy a bag of dried nuts and chill. There it is. Sounds like a great time. I'm in. No, thank you. Oh, come on. You're no fun. It's not that I'm no fun. There's pumpkin patches all over the place. You're no fun, Dad. Grim Reaper over here. Okay, wait. What have you killed? You're the worst. I didn't know that about this. Wow. Terrible. Mikey, it seems to me that his parents... It seems to me that parents are relying less and less on physical punishment, meaning spanking. The rate of child to adult disrespect and child-based crimes are on the rise. I'll tell you what I will attribute the not spanking to. The rate of child to adult disrespect. I agree with that. For sure. Ever since we've introduced time out into society, you see more kids slapping their moms at Starbucks. You do. Yeah, but...
Or telling their mom to shut up. Yeah, see, I attribute that to not following through with punishment. Oh, I believe they follow through, but they know that the consequences. Oh, yes, so what? You have to have a little bit of fear of your parents. You do. I'm sorry. Fear of consequence. See, I think fear of losing privileges. I was not scared of losing privileges. Like, whatever. We work it out when we lose privileges. We've got something else. You know what we do in our mind, too, as kids? We pretend, oh, that's so bad. Don't do it. You said you didn't get hit. No, not me, dude. I was devastated if I lost privileges. Like the phone, dude? Man, brutal. It says a lot of the foo-foo punishments don't really instill a sense of responsibility, something that is very apparently lacking in today's society. Personally, I use a two to four verbal warnings to my daughter. If they aren't effective, she gets one firm swat to the butt. It has yet to fail, and as time goes by, it's getting to the point where all I really have to do is raise my voice a little bit and give her a stern, quote-unquote, daddy look.
Listen, I like that. I do too. It's not the way we're doing it, but I do too. Is it a thing where you're giving her method a try and see if it works, and if it doesn't, or is that just the way it is? Unfortunately, no. It's going to be the way that it is, and it has to be because the whole thing is you've got to be consistent. So we can't switch at some point. We've decided that the way we're going to do it... I tell you what, Mike, if I lost limo privileges for a week, forget about it. What would make it worse? The only thing that would make it worse is if I lost phone privileges in the limo. Oh, my God. I never had a limo. How would I conduct business? Or the boudoir. Yes. Don't even say take the phone from the boudoir. That's an awful thing to even imply. No phone in my bathroom. Well, there's a phone in everything in the house. No, there's not. There sure is not. If we're being honest. There's a fan in there. Even the maid slash dog quarters. There's no maid. There's no dog. Or quarters. Mikey, if you learn to drop everything and leave when your child has a tantrum, they are learning how to control you. They know that if they freak out somewhere they don't want to be, they get to leave. I disagree. I disagree with that. And the only reason I disagree with it is because I've seen it in action. My niece, for whatever reason, she hated the leaving.
Because it's not like you're leaving to go do something fun. It's not like you're leaving to go play PlayStation. You know, you're leaving for them to be punished. There's something in their little brain. Yeah. Even if they don't like being at the grocery store and they're screwing off and you go, all right, that's it. Goodbye. We're out of here. There's something in their little brain. They don't like that. They know that's bad. They know it's bad. They know that's real bad. Well, it's not like you go home and give him a popsicle. Like you go home, you probably put him in a timeout or in his room. Yeah. They just don't like leaving. Follow through. Well, you see what she's saying. She's saying if you went home, you gave him a popsicle. That'd be nice. Delightful. Yeah, you go home, put a little tube on, give him a popsicle. Yeah. He wouldn't learn his lesson. I always have fits in the grocery store. Alexander the Great. Yeah. Real good. Yeah, real nice. Real sweet. My wife says they also have rides at Bates Nut Farm. Okay. Give it up. That sounds awesome. She says, you know how many fond memories I have of doing that? Just like you have fond memories of taking those rides in Arizona over the holidays. And then she adds, and dot, dot, dot, thank you. Very nicely done, Rebecca. The leak in the face. The leak in the face? Basically, that's what it was. That's what it was. Who does that? Thank you.
So you're saying that that was the equivalent of my wife walking up to me and bleaking? Like, if your laptop could spit out saliva right now, you'd have it all over your face. I don't understand. I don't either. I mean, what a strange analogy. Yeah, I think that those rides are fantastic. Those rides that they have at the Bates Nut Farm. I think they're... Yeah, what do we got? What do we got out there? We're talking like a little carousel. I don't know what she's talking about. Did you see rides? But she's saying it. I'm sure there is, but I didn't see any. Too much dust in your eyes? Yeah, I couldn't see anything. You can't even enjoy your Otter Pop. Make sure you wear your mask. Little Sir Isaac Lime. Sir Isaac Lime. Otter Pop. Otter Pop flavor. Poncho Punch. Skye, did you remember that they were called that? Poncho Punch and the... Well, Pucker Pucker. Well, I know that from adulthood. Little Orphan Orange. Oh, there it is. Orphan Orange. Oh, that's right. Skye did not get Otter Pops as a child. Are you kidding me? The girl across the street had it all over her face. Dude, the blue was the best. What was that? Oh, man, made you insane, though. Louie Blueberry or something like that? Louie Booie Blueberry. Louie. Louie.
Louie Bowie Blueberry would make kids crazy, right, Skye? Oh, yeah. Are you kidding me? Yeah, just talk to Fine Fish. He'll tell you, he says. Yeah. He says, you give them Otter Pops. Next thing you know, they'll be driving their Priuses around all silently. What are you talking about? That doesn't make sense. You know what I'm saying. Yeah. You know what I mean. You know what I mean. Yeah, Saturday Night Live this weekend in their weekend update did a little blurb on the hybrid cars not making noise. Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's right. Come on! Oh, please. What did they say? They were probably making fun of it. Sean, do you remember exactly how they worded the joke? No, I don't. But it was something about, you know, how blind people got to be careful now because of the hybrids not making noise. And, you know, they're like, yeah, just like everything else, a blind person has to be careful for crossing the street. Right. P1 Cowboy fan is on the line. Hey, how's it going, Mikey? What's up, man? And I have two methods for my son. Either I take things away from him, like his video games or, you know, things he likes to do. Or if I want that physical punishment, I do exercises. I make him do push-ups or jumping jacks. I like that. I like that. Well, what they say is that, you know, whatever. Whatever your method is, you know, as long as it's not abusive, it's fine.
Just be consistent. If you're going to spank, spank. If you're going to time out, time out. But don't do both. If you're going to put him in a corner with a bag over his head, then... No, you never want to do that. That's what was done to me. No, I'm saying, Ash. I even have a picture of me. It's a classic of me in the corner of my kitchen with the paper bag over his head. Why? Were you a Saints fan? I don't understand why this is happening. No, because I'd get put in the corner and I'd be making faces and turning around. I was a brat. Put a paper bag over my head. Did it work? Nope. Nothing worked with me. Nothing. Dear Mikey, I can relate to Skye. Must be tough losing her privileges. I'm sure she was upset when her parents took away her grow lights. Warmly, cheech, and charm. Unnecessary. And he's pointing and laughing. Uh-oh.
Yeah. Yeah, I was growing weed when I was five years old. You all figured me out. Save that clip. The Mikey Show is on. I just want to say I love this show. I listen to you guys every single day. So, last week you said it's been a little tense with Jill. Oh, yeah. You want to talk more about that? No. Yeah. Yes. I mean, it's been weird. I don't know. Oh? Yeah, I think it's my haircut. Your haircut. Yeah. I went to Supercuts and, you know, it just looks really, really good. It does look nice. See? Amy layered it this time and it's got a nice part and everything and I think girls are noticing and that is killing Jill. I see. I don't like any of the major sports. Boston Rob. Bostonians are tight-knit people. And Ashley. Well, I'm actually, like, awake and, like, alert. The Mikey Show's on. Anyway. Rock 105.3. Back to you, Mike.
Welcome back to the Mikey Show. It's 9-0-1. Britney Spears turned herself into police last night and was booked on misdemeanor hit-and-run charges. Well, Mikey, you're not going to be happy about this. Your Cardinals don't have any quarterbacks. Kurt Warner looks like he has torn ligaments in his elbow. I think they're going to sign The Rock now to play quarterback. When he said pocket full of shells, it sounded familiar. Is that a nursery rhyme? Yes. How's it go? It's not. Pocket full of shells. I'm thinking pocket full of posies. Yeah. Pocket full of shells is in a rage song. Oh, yeah. It is? Yeah, it is. At first, I thought they were doing a nursery rhyme. I think they're plagiarizing Rage Against the Machine. The microphone explodes. Pocket full of shells. Thank you, Ashley. Yeah, that's exactly it. I couldn't understand what she said. This is from P1 Vanessa. Don't do it. Don't do it to yourself. Don't do it to yourself. Why would you? Oh, man. They're my friends with her.
That's a good question. The subject is Bates Nut Farm. Oh, no. It says, I don't even have children and I go there every year. With Rebecca, this is a tradition that makes her feel warm and fuzzy. So even though Jake won't remember it this year, she will enjoy taking her son there this year and every year. I heard her say that she is okay with not going this year because Jake is so young. But at the same time, she doesn't get to enjoy it. Great point. It's not just about getting the pumpkins either. There's that whole Halloween village thing going on there. And they have the petting zoo and stores and Halloween gifts. Sounds like a pretty cool place. Gets you in the Halloween, fall, autumn spirit. The pumpkins are not all that great, but if it's something that you know is special and means a lot to Rebecca, it may be worth the hike, the potholes, the dust, the crowds.
She sounds like an amazing woman and mom. She is. She is, Vanessa. So true. Definitely is. So true. Oh. Get it. Get after that. Get after that email. It's crumpled. You got it all crumpled now. Not quite. No, it's really, I mean, it's very, he crumpled it. It's turned into a diamond. Okay. I wish we were doing the fire lighting thing today because I would definitely have some kindling for lighting a fire. What if you park closer? What if you go on a weekday when the crowds aren't that bad? No, she wouldn't have it that way. There's no point. We go to a pumpkin patch. We get the same stuff. We'll take him when he's a little older. It's a compromise. Vanessa sent me a text message the other day. What? Let me tell you about this broad. Uh-oh. Lock her. Listen to this. Listen to this. And a lot of people are going to ask us, well, why do you talk to her?
Because when we talk about things intelligently, let me put it this way. When she's not being her, she's awesome. Very intelligent. I like Sky. Yes, dude. What? Eddie. Eddie. Eddie. Oh, what just happened? Eddie. What just happened? Eddie. What's up? Hey, what's up? No one's calling your name. What up? She reminds me of Sky. Like, Sky can be so much fun. 95% of the time. Until she disagrees with you. But that 5% of the time, she just... Until I won't be a sheep, yeah. A sheep! Until she actually has something to say that's not what you're saying. Sorry, I have my own opinion. She's not well right now. Yeah, she's not well right now. Hasn't been for 29 years. What? Oh. Eddie! Who said that? No. You said that. I heard you. It was the ghost. No, it was not the ghost. Okay. Like Sky. Awesome. Like Skye, she'll say stuff to you knowing that it's going to drive you nuts. Like, out of nowhere, she'll make a statement. So just like Skye, just like Mike, she does that. Give me an example of one that I'll tell you that I know is going to make you nuts. Dude, you do it all the time. You'll say something, and then you'll get that little snicker, and then you'll, like, turn around, and you'll look at Eddie. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Wait a minute. Hang on.
Oh, yeah, just like you did to Rob this morning. Hang on. Exactly. Wait, wait, wait. Let me say this. Let me say this. Somebody IM that's worth. It was Ashley. It wasn't. Skye. What's up? You're right. You're right. I do that. It wasn't me. You're right. I do that. See? You do it, too. I'm not talking about that. I'm not talking about that stuff. I'm talking about. When, no, no, no, no. I'm not talking about the funny hee, hee, hee. We're having fun. Like, you will say stuff knowing. And it's not just me. Eddie, too. You'll say stuff to us sometimes knowing we're going to go, are you kidding me? Well, if it's my true opinion, definitely. I'll never change my opinion to placate you. But I also do it jokingly. I'm not going to be your yes man, Mike. Let me tell you what she IMs me the other day. Alright, let's hear this. Jason's her boyfriend. Jace tried to get me to watch 300 last night. Made it 52 minutes into the movie and turned it off. You liked that? So violent. Why do you need to see that? She knows. That you love that movie. That I love that movie.
So I say to her. What can you say? Well, she'd like to hear the opposite viewpoint. She already has. Obviously. I said, even my wife loved that movie. How does Jason tolerate you? The story is stunning in how beautiful it is. You are truly a beating. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She says, not nice. What can I say? Rebecca is more of a woman than I am. You got that right. Amen, sister. Why is someone a beating if they disagree with you? Excuse me. That's not what he's talking about. Again, you're missing the point. I said to her, you know, if you don't like the movie, I mean, if you, sorry, I said, you know, if you like the movie, it's not like Jason wins something. Because to this Vanessa and this guy, it's all about the debate, the argument, the fight. The win. She says, oh, yeah, it was beautiful to take children from their mothers and beat them until they grow up too excited about the prospect of meeting someone good enough to kill in a battle. Right. Very savage society. I said 300 is moving, powerful, compelling, inspiring. Not watching it because it was violent is so clearly.
Not seeing the forest through the trees. You're short-sighted. Way to think out of the box. You're insulting her for sharing her opinion with you. God, you're a horrible friend. Nobody asked for her opinion. She says... Nobody asked him to call her names. She wouldn't have got called any names if she hadn't texted me out of the blue. If she didn't share her feelings. She says... There was no reason for it. There's no reason for you. You're going to like this next one. Oh, I'm sorry, Eddie. I take it back. She says, just because I didn't like 300 or Braveheart. Yep, Eddie. That's right. Eddie just took his headphones off. Eddie just took his headphones off. Eddie just took his headphones off. Eddie just took his headphones off. That's a good one. She says, I have a death toll limit. There are only so many people I can see die in one day and 52 minutes is into the movie. I've reached it. Mike? Yeah. What did you just say, Skye? I said Braveheart's a good one. I've never seen it. I don't know. I've never seen it. I've never seen it. Sean. Sean. I've never seen it. I'm done. I'm done over here. So now I'm in trouble because I haven't seen a movie? I'm out. I'm done. I'm out. I said to her, 300 is a litmus test for if someone is a good person. Okay. You can't make statements like that. You can't make statements. So brutal.
You're crazy. She said, so you're a good person for liking watching people tear each other apart, build trees out of body parts? I think it's the opposite. I said, no, you're not a good person for recognizing what kind of sacrifice human beings made to defend their honor and way of life. Sean, give me my 300 sound effect. Oh, here we go. Yeah, I'm watching it again tonight. Sky, you saw 300, right? You liked it. Loved it. I'm sorry. You loved it. I believe it was a beautiful piece of work. You can't even. It's too violent for me to enjoy, but I get that it's a beautiful piece of art. You're a beautiful piece of art. Beautiful? What happened? What does that mean? I just said some nice beauty. Beautiful.
I just wanted to thank Mikey this morning for staying on the air. You know, it's my one day off during the week, and you guys totally rock. Dude, I appreciate that, man. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. The Ryan has improved quite a bit out here this morning. However, we are seeing some slow traffic still on the eastbound side of the 78. A truck hauling a backhoe. Clipped atop of the Nordahl overpass here. Knocked out some concrete that fell on the freeway. And they're trying to clean that up. And traffic is still quite heavily backed up from San Marcos Boulevard to the accident scene. And also got some locally slowing on the westbound 78 through the San Marcos area as well here. Southpond 7 to the 15, looking great at a Viscanito. Just a minor delay at the 56 in Carmel Mountain Ranch here. The coaster ride, Southpond 7 to the 5, a brief slowdown at Manchester. And the 805 northbound, still a bit tight from Claremont Mason Boulevard towards Governor Drive with the Golden Triangle. I'm McLaurence on Rock 105.3. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. The Key Morning Show. Like the creepy grandpa. Yeah, you know, like that, oh yeah, that guy. KIOC San Diego's Rock. Now back to the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. I consider myself a pretty quick guy with a pretty large degree of intelligence, but I messed a lot of it up. Eddie. I hate killer whales. Sky. I purchased a goat through a charity which will be delivered to a needy family in the third world. Sean. Don't make me laugh with your insults. Boston Rob. Am I just an idiot?
And Ashley. I use a lot of toilet paper. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Yeah, DJ Mikey Mike. Yeah, remix. That's right, I'm remixing it. Welcome back, it's 9-17. San Diego just had the largest cockfighting bust ever, shutting down two South Bay locations with more than 5,000 birds. The NFL commissioner is considering hosting the Super Bowl in London. I shouldn't do that, man. No way, man. That's an American institution. That's messed up. And you know what sucks about it is that the decision doesn't have one thing to do with us. It doesn't have one thing to do with us. It's all about their agenda to globalize the sport. And why don't you think about the people that are making it popular in the first place? The fans that have made that sport the number one sport in the country.
Like, you know, we spend a lot of money on the NFL every year and now you're going to take away the Super Bowl. Like, that's not cool. Yeah, I agree. I agree with that. Listen to this email. This guy says, hey, Mikey, I'll try to keep it brief, but the topic of the parents infuriates me. My wife is a fifth grade teacher. Yesterday, during a parent-teacher conference to discuss a student's poor behavior, my wife told their parents about some rude and insulting comments her child had made towards my wife. The parent's response? She told her kid that it's okay to have her own opinions, but it's not always nice to express them out loud. The kid's in fifth grade. She doesn't get to have an opinion. Like Eddie said, she's a kid. Most parents these days are stupid. Don't let yourself go there, brother. Signed P1 Jeff. Wow. I don't know, man. I'm like, fifth grader doesn't get to have an opinion? Maybe your opinion's not right. I didn't see anything wrong with saying to the kid, hey, it's okay to have opinions, but don't express them out loud. Eddie, what do you think? You say no. You're fifth grade?
You're just a kid. You don't get it. That's definitely true. I think at fifth grade you can have an opinion, but if your opinion has something to do with your teacher or something like that, you're just an idiot. You can't talk to authority figures, whether it's your opinion or not like that. I don't care what age you are. Now I want to know what she said or he said. What was the quote-unquote opinion? That's just my opinion. Dear Mikey, what's up with Skye? Just listening to the talk about self-calming. Why does Skye always take a stance and stand up for such ridiculous things? Tell her to get some self-respect. It's not ridiculous. Tell her to get some self-respect. I have plenty. I'm sorry if someone's making claims about me that aren't true. You can say something after he's finished. All right.
Tell her to get some self-respect and defend something that is important to our society. Yours truly, Al Sharpton. Phony baloney email. He's crumbling it up right now. How could it be phony? Well, yeah, it was written by one of you guys. We don't write emails. P1s write emails. Okay. This guy. Look. Let's go to her, dude. All right. Uncrumple it. You crinkled it up. Yeah, uncrumple that email that you've received. Your email. Yeah. Let's not. Let me see. What do you make of it? Whatever, Bradley. We'll accept your apology now. Yeah, we'll take the apology. You were wrong. This time I was wrong. But the majority... I'm sorry for being wrong this time and basing my opinion on all the previous times when that's what you guys have done. Prove it. I did before. You didn't. Yes, I did. No, you never did. Yes, I did.
Come check my email and things. Well, because you put them on Word documents and print them. Prove it. Well, you don't have to save a Word document. You have no proof. I accept your apology. I'm not apologizing to you. Dear Mikey, right now we cannot afford to build a pool. So every time my son is bad, he gets to spend an hour out back digging. That's awesome. When he turns 18, it will be ready for water. Signed, P1 Cheddar. That is fantastic. Great. Whatever works. Just stick with it. Just be consistent, will you? Mikey just thought I'd drop you a line and tell you my experience. When my son was three, he decided to start testing me. At home, he would throw tantrums and spanking did nothing. Then I read on a parenting website that a glass of cold water to the face puts an end to the tantrums. Whoa. Oh, my God. It does not hurt them, but shocks them.
And so after being at the end of my rope, I tried it. You know what? It worked. Okay, men of honor. I know it sounds awful. Anybody. But I did that on two occasions, and my son has never thrown tantrums since. You get it. I don't. He is now six, and he's a great kid. Robert De Niro with the hose. What movie? Men of Honor. Anybody see it this weekend, son? It was on TBS. I DVR'd it. Anybody? It was really good. DVR'd it? Yeah, I did, and I watched it by myself. It was good. You are probably eating some microwave to dinner. No wonder you're so angry these days. Microwave tuna melt. Sounds like a terrible life. Can you imagine this kid at home? Oh, man, it's all good. Watching Men of Honor eating a microwave tuna melt. I DVR'd it. That and 8 Mile, both on this weekend. Sounds nice. Got to catch a couple of free flicks.
I like it. It's been really fun. By myself. And now, cockfighting. Please. Unguard. Hey. Different. It was the biggest cockfighting raid maybe in U.S. history. Yeah, that's what they're saying. Over 5,000 birds involved. I was watching that. This is Eric. You were watching the cockfight? No, I mean all the birds. This is Eric Sakatch. Humane Society of the United States talking about it. Cut 43. And usually by the end of that 10 to 15 minutes, one and sometimes both of the birds are dead. They're reduced from the beautiful birds they are to literally chunks of lacerated meat. I don't think they're that beautiful. I don't think roosters are really beautiful. I think they're kind of gross. They taste good. They taste delicious. Super good.
Mostly, the hens taste better than the roosters. Sure, but still, they're good, man. I mean, if you had the, you know, in a pinch, you could eat a rooster. Oh, not me, dude. You prefer it. I prefer the rooster. You prefer the rooster to the hen. It's a tougher meat, you know. You know, it takes you back. It takes you back to what? Back to, you know, those days when the woolly mammoths were roaming the earth. What the hell is he talking about? It's a good point, Sean. You weren't there, though, Sean. How does it take you back to that? Well, it takes your mind back. It brings you back to that sort of primordial state. What are you saying, though, back in the... My eating rooster. You're saying back in the primordial days there was no such thing as a hen? There were hens, but they were really hard to catch. The roosters strutting around like they own a place. How do you know that they're easier? Well, they were cocky, bro. Right. Good point, Sean. Had to take them down a peg or two. That's why I eat rooster. Okay, Sean. That's great. We got it, Sean. But you don't eat rooster, Sean. That's the truth of the matter. Well, it is the diet of the beaver. Oh, didn't think of that. Is that the truth? Yeah, that is not. They prefer.
Well, how did that make sense? How did it turn into this? Sean dresses as a panda bear and a beaver. He's a furry. Yes. And proud of it. Yes. Not anymore. You're not proud anymore? I didn't say that. You're like most people would expect. You're humiliated now. Not proud. Well, I didn't say he was humiliated. I did not say I was humiliated. Mortified. Fervid. Not really. What? Fervid. Fervid? Fervid. Well said. It means that you're marked by often extreme intensity or feeling. What's the hell? Fervid. Word of the day again? Fervid. Yeah. Thanks, guys. Yeah. Get it every day. This one actually applied, though. Awesome. Fervid. Hey, you fervid SOB. Yeah, in your face, Sean. Yeah, Sean. Yeah. Yeah, man. Yeah, you're fervid. P1 Adam is on the line. Hi, Adam.
Hey, I just wanted to make a comment about the whole cockfighting deal. Yeah. I don't get why it's illegal to begin with anyway. They're just chickens. We eat them anyway and breed them by the thousands. Oh, give me a break, dude. You know what? If we ate the hens, nah, that's bad, too, because they're hurting each other. Nah, it's bad, dude, because they hurt each other. They're suffering. They're suffering. So, you know, we got to... When we do the chickens, though, for us to eat, it's real quick. You know, they kill them real quick. Kill them real quick? Yeah. And what's the difference? We're killing them anyway. He's right, but one is making an animal suffer, and that's pointless. And then, yeah. And then you're disposing of it, like you're not even utilizing the meat. You're throwing it away. That occurs in nature regardless. Yeah, but, sir, you do know. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh, gosh. You're saying animals fight in nature all the time. Yeah, that's a regular occurrence. We only modify it by putting razor blades on their feet. Now, wait a minute. You are correct. Animals may fight out in nature all the time, but you kind of said it yourself. That's natural. Right. That's nature. What these people are doing is not natural. They're not locked in a cage with razor blades taped to their feet. No, I was listening last night. They cut off the...
the original, like, talons or whatever and put on razor blades. Hey, sir, don't you think that that's a little inhumane to cut off an animal's body part and, you know... They're chickens. Well, I know, but they're... Yeah, but they're a living thing. I mean, I know they're just chickens and everything, but they are a living thing. All right, well, I just wanted to express my opinion. Okay. I gotta go, but... Fair enough. Thank you. I mean, some people feel that way. You know, that's the way the guy feels. I just think, wow, you know, it's pretty... It's not very humane. You know, we're supposed to be better. Yeah, I thought it was just common sense. Well, it's just supposed to be, we're supposed to be better than to do that. I wanted to do, I wanted to do something and then start with completely lost. Oh, I know what I wanted to do. I wanted to do the new releases today. But what did I want to do right before that? Trying to get my ADD medication to work. Give Sky a present.
No, I definitely want that. Talk about some recipes for rooster, dude. No, I don't want to do that either. How to build a dam. Oh. Okay. Discuss my upcoming birthday? No, it wasn't that. What was it? Panda talk. It wasn't panda talk. Oh, that's Thursdays. Oh, I know what it was. Oh, what do we got, Mike? I remembered. Before we do new releases. Welcome back. It's 940. A man was robbed of his Apple iPhone at an East County bus stop by a teenager with a taser. Rockies are in the World Series. Wait for the winner of the ALCS. The Cleveland Indians are up two games to one over the Red Sox. Tonight's game four. Yes. I made an arrangement with Rob earlier. We have an arrangement. What is this arrangement you speak of? It's a gentleman's agreement, Ashley. That it is. On what terms? We're going to respect each other's sports franchises. Yeah. All in front of each other. Oh. To each other's faces. I'll respect the Red Sox and the New England Patriots, and he'll respect the Padres and the San Diego Chargers. Oh. Except when they play each other. Mm-hmm. And that's going to happen coming up. I believe New England is going to be coming to San Diego, aren't they? Are we going there? No, they already played. Oh, they already played. That's right.
Oh, yeah. What do we got out on video games and DVDs? Hey, just real quick, because this is along the same lines before you say, Zeppelin's finally releasing their digital catalog next month. So I guess we'll be able to get it on iTunes. Yeah, they're finally going to put all their music online. It's going to be November 13th, the same day that they release a two-disc CD retrospective called Mothership. That's what that commercial was. And they're also going to do Verizon ringtones, too. What commercial? There's some commercial that's playing right now that's like a Zeppelin song, and then it shows the Zeppelin cymbals. And it says something about November 13th on it. It doesn't say what it is or whatever. Oh, wow. And I was like, oh, whoa. Is that the date of their concert? Or, like, what's going on? Hmm. Let's see. This is Jimmy Page, cut 36. You know, it's the most rewarding part of it, having, you know, been part of music like that, which has stood out to the test. I think every musician hopes that their music will hold up, and it's wonderful. There's a message you can hate for, I guess, if you're being honest with each other.
equivalent of taking a nice warm shower. You know what trips me out when I hear it? I think to myself, how did nobody think of that? It's so nice. It's so good. It sounds so good. That's pretty good stuff. That's the rain song. They're going to put that on iTunes pretty soon. The entire catalog. All right, Skye, so what's out today? So new video games out today. We have Tony Hawk's Proving Ground for Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, and the Wii. That guy is so rich from those games. Dude. Lucky duck. Did he come in here or we talked to him on the phone? We've talked to him on the phone a few times. I can get him to come in here, though. He lives in Carlsbad. Yeah, that's what I figured. That's what I couldn't remember. Was he in here or not?
We have Victorious Boxers Revolution for the Wii. Victorious Boxers? Mm-hmm. Realistic boxing game that aims to take advantage of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Yeah. We have the beautiful Katamari for Xbox 360. What's that? A ball rolling puzzle game. Puzzles and the ball rolls through. So it's out today. Avatar, The Last Airbender, The Burning Earth, out today. What's Avatar, Eddie? It's kind of like a Dungeons and Dragons almost type of game. Yeah, defending the Earth Kingdom against the sinister Fire Nation. So that's Xbox 360, PS2, and the Wii. It's an RPG. I don't know what that means. We have Spider-Man 3 for the PSP. Sea Monsters, A Prehistoric Adventure for the Wii.
Ultimate duck hunting for the Wii and table tennis for the Wii. You might like that duck hunting game for the Wii. I would love it. You know, I did the wrong thing. I stuck that Wii in Jake's room because there wasn't really a lot of places to put it. I think I have room now because we got rid of cable. Did I tell you guys that? Oh, you did? Yeah, we got rid of cable. Oh, wow. So we got rid of the big cable box. I think I have room now. Yeah, you should bring it down, dude. I'm going to put the Wii in there because I really like playing it. Yeah, you need space to move around for the Wii. Yeah. Very cool. Okay, new CDs out today. We have REM Live. It's a double CD that comes with a DVD if you're an REM fan. We have Live at Monterey, the Jimi Hendrix Experience. I don't like live music, really. Mm-mm. I really don't, especially recordings of live music, unless it was live music from the 70s, in which case I really like it because it wasn't real. Wait, it wasn't real? Yeah, for the most part, they doctored it up in a studio. Oh. Yeah, like a lot of live albums now, they come out and they're real. They're like actual recordings from a live, you know, experience. Well, back in the 70s when they did like the Kiss live albums and stuff, well, they recorded them live and you get the essence of them live.
But for the most part, they went back into a studio and they played tracks to get it all perfect and sound great. Really? Yeah. That's why they sound so cool. I prefer live recordings. No way. The crowd ruins it. They do, man. Well, for me, it isn't necessarily the crowd. They don't sing it the same way they do on the record and it doesn't sound as good. And that's why I like it. You want it different? It's not the song you like. No, I like it. I mean, it's basically the song I like, but, you know, they mix it up a little. I like that. Whenever I see the word live, I'm like, oh, boy. Depends. No, so good. Well, yeah, and Ashley's right. Depends. Like Britney Spears live. No, thank you. Oh, please. You know, but Dave Matthews live. Brilliant. Thank you very much. Foo Fighters live. Genius. See, I think with Dave Matthews, you're picking an artist that lends itself to that. Rock bands, it's tough. Like, I think Dave Matthews, his music really, I've seen, they have this thing on HD right now, Dave Matthews. And he does. He sounds great live. Yeah. But I think that there's certain bands that that's the deal. A lot of rock bands, like, I've got to respectfully disagree with you, Ash, on the Foo Fighters. Oh, my gosh. I think their live stuff is like, it's like, yeah, okay, but I'd rather hear you. Live acoustic is, like, my favorite. Let's see what we got. It's, like, probably my favorite even, like, in my top ten of all time. What?
It's the only thing I could find live by the Foo Fighters. Seems my time is growing, then watch me spin. Nah, I want it perfect. Hey, Sky, you got this story about the kids that were lost in the caves? Oh, yeah, in Texas? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, we talked about this the other day, about how three University of Texas students went spelunking, exploring a cave in Austin, and, yeah, like, didn't come back. And it was this crazy cave. And then, you know, the authorities got involved. And they started sending people in there to find these kids. And luckily, these three students, I think they were in there for something like 30 hours in the cave. Because they said the cave is like tree roots. It gets all crazy and goes different ways. And you can't find your way out. And it's real cramped. Why would people do that? It's beautiful. The spelunking? Yeah.
Aren't you looking at the stuff with lantern lights from your cap? You're seeing cool stuff that not everybody gets to see. Give me an example. Like cool crystal formations on the inside of the cave. I've seen that on National Geographic Channel all the time. Well, but there's a difference between seeing something on TV and living it. You're right. Mine looks better. It's in high definition. You go for the experience. Go for the experience of what? Get out of the house and do something. I understand that. Being in the cave, smelling the smells, you know, feeling how cool it is. Okay. Okay. You've talked me into it. However, comma, the thing that I don't get is why would somebody put themselves in a dangerous situation? Listen, I'll go spelunking if it's like a spelunking approved cave. Yeah. See, I've done that. You have? Yeah. Where they say, hey, this thing's safe. It's like a tour, and everybody gets their little hats, and the caves are safe. But you're saying, like, some of these areas that they were squeezing through, like, you could barely squeeze a human body through it. Yeah. Who is... I mean, that's crazy. Yeah, it's a little intense. Lieutenant Matt Cox from the... No, the Austin Police Department, right? Negative. Austin Fire Department. Them's fighting words. Austin Fire Department.
Fire Department. We are not police officers. Wow, this guy is actually the same guy who is quoted in the CNN story about this. You're like a famous dude now. Oh, well, thank you very much. So you're from the Austin Fire Department, and were you called out when these kids were spelunking? Yes, I was actually the public information officer that day, which means any media that happens, I will go to. So I was there for about nine hours as we were in the middle of the rescue. Stayed there until the very end until we found them, so I was on scene. Now, who made the phone call, friends or family of these people? Well, here is the deal. They left a message. Well, let's back up. It's a 12,000-foot-long cave. If you're really good, it takes you six hours to go in, six hours to come back. They told a friend, if we're not back by midnight, call for help. Now, for whatever reason, the friend didn't call us at 5 a.m., but at 5 a.m., we got the call from that friend that said it didn't come out at midnight, And then we sent our whole special operations team and made a little recon of the cave and figured out that there was a pretty good chance they were in there. I mean, their car was still there. Personal effects were there. And we knew that they were there. Describe the inside of this thing. Well, it's not like going to Carlsbad, where it's nice and big and these beautiful, giant formations that you can just walk around in. Basically, to get through that first little section, we call it, it's officially called the keyhole entrance.
but it's nicknamed the birth canal. You basically have to blow out all your air and squeeze through as quick as you can, and that's the tightest spot. But for pretty much the rest of the 12,000 feet, you cannot get any higher than crawling on your hands or knees. And, in fact, a lot of it you have to actually be on your belly, and you can't turn around. You just got to keep going until you get to a bigger spot, or you can turn around if you wanted to. I can't even imagine who the first person to give this a shot was. Right. Right. But apparently when people do this, Matt, they do it in a group. People like to do this together as a group of people. Right. That's the safer alternative, sure. And there was how many of these folks? Three people in their early 20s, all University of Texas students, two females and a male. Oh, really? So it was two girls and a guy. Right. And had they done this before? Did they have experience? Yes. A couple of them had been in there before. I won't say, you know. like 30 times or so, but, I mean, more than once, and they were taking in someone who hadn't been in there before. What went wrong? Basically, they got to an area called Sherwood's Forest, which is, it wasn't just one long tunnel there and back. In this area, there were lots of, picture of tree limb, I mean, lots of different branches and areas that they could go to, and if you take one wrong turn, you might think you're going one way and you're actually going the other, so they simply, in this one area, got lost. They knew eventually that they
They knew they were going in circles, and they eventually got to a spot where they just waited for us, and they knew we were coming. And by the time we found them, they were just sitting there and still rested and still hydrated. In fact, they spent the night, and they knew help was coming, and then we got them out from there. It still took about three hours to get them out because they were so far in the cave. And how do you see in there, these people that do this? Do they have little lights on their helmet? Yeah, you have those headlamp things. In the old days, the batteries used to run out pretty fast, but they've got batteries that last multiple hours, and you always take backups just in case. So they're headlamps. Now, if all that would have gone out, then it would have been, you know, complete darkness, just like when you go to Carlsbad and they say, let's turn out the lights. And, I mean, it's darkness that you can almost, it's so dark. But I was not given any indication that they lost light power. I think they had backups. If you're describing this Sherwood Forest area the way that you are, I'm picturing that. There's a lot of different ways that you can go. How are people supposed to know which way to go? Are there signs? Well, no, there's no signs at all. What you're supposed to leave, we call it a breadcrumbs trail. You leave something there that shows that you've been there before. You passed a certain area, and if you've been in there enough with experienced people, then you do get to know the place eventually. And you're saying two of these people had done it before, but they were both wrong. Right. All it takes is one. Even an experienced caver, all it takes is one.
One wrong turn, it can mess you up the rest of the way. So it took three hours to get them out. Well, yeah, it took our initial team to go in and find them, took them to the very end, and on the way back, they found them about three hours into them coming back. So they were about halfway into the cave, about 6,000 feet in. That is crazy. Yeah, but they also, they'd go back. I mean, they enjoyed it. I mean, they weren't scared or anything. It was just the fact that they got lost. They knew help was coming. And we got them out, and they were fine. They said all they wanted to do was take a bath because they were covered in mud. We're talking to Lieutenant Matt Cox of the Austin Fire Department. Correct. And he was one of the guys that was called when this thing went down. Were the parents waiting there at the, where did they come out, the entrance? Or did you take them all the way through to the exit?
Right. They came out. There's only one way in and one way out. Oh. And we had a representative there from the University of Texas, a family liaison-type person, and she got in contact with them, and they were there. Most of the parents were there waiting for them, and we took them on the—it was about a mile hike from the command post onto the trail. We got some John Deere-type gator tractors and took the parents down there, and they met them there at the cave entrance. Are they becoming any kind of local celebrities, these kids? No, I would say not. They didn't even release their names at the press conference. They didn't want to let it get known who they are. In fact, they turned down an appearance on the Today Show the next day. They said they just wanted to go to class the next day and go back to work. So no one knows them from anybody now unless they know them in class down at UT. I wouldn't call them local celebrities. I would just say people will know about those kids. In fact, half the people are thrilled for them and half the people are angry and think they should rescue. I like what happens up there. Yeah, you know, there's listeners that are calling in right now to the show that are kind of wondering the same thing, if they had to pay for the people that eventually had to go in there and rescue them. I mean, it's not cheap. Well, here's the deal. Here in Austin, you're taxpayers for this. I mean, we have a special team that trains to do just that. Most of the people were on duty, so that didn't incur a cost. And anybody we paid overtime at the fire department was about $2,400. But once again, we budget for overtime. So we didn't spend necessarily...
any extra money. This is what the citizens get. They pay us very well, and we're ready for it. We're not going to charge it. Hey, you guys, do you guys realize that in the next couple of months, Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here? That's not true. That's true. It was just the beginning of the year. No, no, no, no, that's a true statement. Summer just started, though. No, no, no, no, you guys, Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner. No, impossible. I'm in denial. It's Easter. Thank you. All right, new DVDs out today. Okay. Oh, we got a big one today, huh? Transformers. Yeah, dog. We have the regular edition, the HD edition, and the two-disc DVD in both regular or HD. I'm getting that. The two-disc, a bunch of extras, behind-the-scenes featurettes, spelling out the backstory of the robots, their master power source, the reason they fight. Optimus Prime. The whole deal out today. It's a good movie. It's killer. So I'm excited for that. Also out today, A Mighty Heart, the Angelina Jolie one. Oh, yeah. It was a turd. It didn't make any money. It was a mighty fart. Yeah. Why did she do that? I don't know. That looks weird. Okay. Yeah, it was a turd. No one went and saw it. Maybe it was good, but no one wanted to see it. You know what I thought? I thought, too soon, man. Yeah, Downer. Downer.
Daniel Pearl, the guy that got, you know, killed by the Iraq. Like, I don't want to see it. Beheaded. Oh, it's terrible. Yeah. Also out today, The Reaping with Hilary Swank. Oh, that's a scary movie, right? Yeah, but it didn't do very well. It got really... Critically panned. Yeah. Also out today, the unrated extended cut of Planet Terror, which is, you know, the one half of the grindhouse thing. That's the Rodriguez one, right? Yeah, that's the Rodriguez one. On Death Proof, the one that Quentin Tarantino did, on the extras, they have the trailer for Planet Terror. Yeah. Oh, my goodness. What? Does it look bad? Oh, does it look terrible? Sean, did you see Planet Terror? No, no, I didn't see Planet Terror. I just saw the same thing you did, and it looked really, really bad. Oh, I mean, and it's supposed to look like it's, you know, it's supposed to look, yeah. But it's not. But see, I think that it can be bad and cool, and it didn't look bad and cool. It looked bad and badder.
A lot of the reviews that I read said that his was better than Tarantino's. And see, everything I was hearing up until they came out on DVD was I heard people saying the opposite. Tarantino's was okay and Planet Terror was awful. In fact, somebody said they walked out. Wow. Somebody said they walked out of Tarantino's. Or not Tarantino's, of Rodriguez's. It looks so stupid. leg chopped off and they put a machine gun there? I happen to a friend of mine. Yeah. Well, it's happening to everybody probably. Yeah, everybody knows somebody. Everybody knows somebody that's had a machine gun put in their leg. TV shows to DVD. We have That 70s Show, Season 7, Medium, Season 3, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The Complete Series, Roseanne Season 9. The Complete Series is one season long. Well, yeah, there you go. Deadliest Catch. Season two. And then we have some music stuff. Wait, wait, wait. Go back a little bit. Tell me what you said before the one that I just commented on. Before that was That 70s Show, season seven. Medium, season three. And then we did the Studio 60, complete season. Roseanne, season nine. Deadliest Catch, season two.
And then music stuff to DVD. We have the Jimi Hendrix Live at Monterey on DVD. And then this one here actually is supposed to be like a real big deal to ACDC people. It's ACDC Plug Me In. It's a three-disc DVD collector's edition with seven hours of rare and unreleased live video from ACDC. So enjoy. They need to release more Discovery Channel, History Channel, like that kind of stuff. I'd buy that kind of TV. Always when you read the TV stuff, I'm always like, I don't want that. I want like Man vs. Wild and that kind of stuff. I don't think it's Deadliest Catch. I know. When you said that, that's what made me think of it. That's a good show. Like, yeah, I'm all right with that. We're going to play you this Ellen clip in just a second. Yes! Wait until I tell you. Do you know what it's about, Ash? Nope. Wait until I tell you. Don't care. As long as it's Ellen, give it to me. She's the best.
Hey, Jason's on the line. He was the dude that we talked to. He was a P1 that we talked to that was actually an extra in the movie Transformers. Hey, are you there, Jason? Hey, how you doing, Mikey? Good. Do you think we'll be able to see you on the movie? Yeah, actually, I did have a line, but it got cut out. So technically, I was a featured extra. I'm pretty visible at least a couple of times in a couple of different scenes there. Hopefully, if I can help it, I'll be in the second one. What's your scene? Well, I play one of the Sector 7 agents. So you see one of the scenes where the four black SUV police vehicles pull up to the house at the night scene. And John Turturro is in the front vehicle. I'm actually driving that front vehicle when we get out and kind of storm the house. Oh, cool. And you see us a few seconds later handcuffed or a few minutes later handcuffed on the curb in that scene. So with the robots come down off the bridge. So that was a lot of fun. I absolutely remember that scene. Are you sitting next to Turturro? Yeah, he's standing up handcuffed to a pole and they make him take his clothes off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's the scene I'm talking about. Are you sitting next to him in that scene? Yeah, I'm sitting on the curb handcuffed. Yep, we're all in black suits. That's cool. That's cool, dude. We'll keep an eye out for you. All right, guys. Thanks a lot. All right, man. See ya. Bye. P1 Eric. Hey, what's up, man? What's up? Hey, the Transformers DVD at Target only, they got the case, Transforms, and Optimus Prime. Oh.
Oh, wow. Yeah, I'm getting that. You could play with the case. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hours. Give it to your kids. Yeah. And then all the members of the Wild, they do sell those DVDs on Discovery. Play with it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you, bro. Thank you. I'm just saying. We're sorry you didn't have a childhood. No, come on. And you didn't get your He-Man for Christmas. No, I got it. Or you had to give gifts after that, and it ruined it. But, you know, come on. Oh, I got the He-Man, all right. Yeah, I know. You know what happened after I got the He-Man? I just said it. What story is this? I don't need to know, though, because I've never heard this story. That was a day. I'll never forget it because it was a Christmas morning. Okay. All I wanted was that He-Man toy. I opened it up. I'm so happy. So happy. Sure, sure.
My mom takes me aside and she grabs me by the face. No, she didn't. The face. That's a lie. That part, it's a lie. She is an angel. She is an angel. That is true, Eddie. But she says to me. Mother of the year. She looks at me right in the eye. She says, this will be the last Christmas you don't binds for someone. Old were you? 12 years old. Oh. Well, see, one more year you would have been in the Transformers. It's called growing up, Mike. Don't. Let it go. Glad I was able to get that out. No. All right. I mean, how many times? First time I've ever told that story. No, many times. That's not true. Many times. What number is the clip, or is Sean just going to play it after I explain what's going on with this island thing? It's clip 45. Hello, 45. Hello. You look like a four and a five. Forty-five, Monica. Forty-five.
Okay, so here's what's going on. Apparently, Ellen. Yeah, Ellen. Love her. She adopted a little dog, okay? Her and her husband, his name is Portia. Portia. His name is Portia. Her name. De Rossi. Yeah, Ally McBeal. Portia De Rossi. Oh. What is this? Okay, so the two of them adopt a dog. Oh. Well, shortly after adopting the dog, They realize they can't have the dog. The cats aren't taken to the dog. What? Listen. It's not working out. It's not working out. Figure it out. So we can't have the dog and the cats in the same place. We're going to have to get rid of the dog. Oh, that's awful. Okay. Find another home for the doggy. So what Ellen and Portia do. Like the car. Like the car. So what they do is. You get it. What Ellen and Porsche do. Porsche. You just said it's like the car. It's a Porsche and Ellen. They go to Ellen's hairdresser and they say, how would you like the dog? And the hairdresser says, oh, I got a 12-year-old daughter. We would love it. We would love to have the dog. And so she gives her the dog. Well, the place where they bought the animal.
gets wind of it and they say no that's against the rules you cannot just adopt an animal and go giving it to other people willy-nilly you're not allowed to do that you you know other because we we approved the dog for you yes because we checked into you we know you're a good person but we don't know that you're giving this dog to a unsuitable home and so that's against the rules you can't do that And so the woman from the place they bought it that's raising this fuss takes the dog away from the little girl. The hairdresser's daughter takes the dog away. And Ellen's going, listen, I screwed up. I'm sorry. But I found the animal a great home. Get mad at me. Don't torture this little girl because of it. And Eddie's right. You know, they don't. Personally, when I read the story, I thought.
You know, can't you cut the little kid some slack? Or maybe they could have done a little bit more investigating to find out if it is a good home. Yeah, make those people fill out an application. If they're approved, they get to keep it. But Ellen is a monster. Why? For doing that. Why? Because it's all her fault. Yeah, if she hadn't had done that, it wouldn't have happened. It is her fault. Well, I don't think that makes her a monster. I think it's a mistake. She's ruined a lot of people's lives. She has not. And now she's ruined that girl's life. Yeah. Now, Porsche doesn't have anything to say about it anyway. She's just staying quiet. She's a little mad about Arrested Development. Yeah, me too. What does George Michael have to say about this? So today on Ellen's show, Ellen spoke about it, right, Skye? Yes. She's probably pissed. A little upset. We have a clip. Cut 45. I love the music. Let's party. Thank you very much. And right back at you when I needed that today. We're going to edit some of this out. You know, people say to me a lot, how do you do this show if you're in a bad mood? Or how do you do the show if you're sad? Or don't you have bad days? And, you know, I'm a human being and I have bad days and I have sad days. But when I walk out here and when y'all cheer and when you're here to dance and here to laugh and I know I make people happy, it changes my mood. I come out here and I can do anything because of the energy I get. But today is a hard day for me. Today is bad.
And I am not capable of coming out and pretending to be funny and on when things are going so terribly wrong right now. I'm so sorry. I'm just not able to pretend. So I'm going to tell you the story. I'm going to get over it. And we're going to have a good show. And we have a great show. So it's going to be funny. And it's going to be everything that you turn the show on for. Sounds like somebody's on the doghouse. It's very dramatic. Yeah. Yeah. And you should see the video. Like, tears are, like, running down her face. And she starts having to take the tissues. And so then what? They go to commercial and they come back. Everything's great. And what? She's dancing? I don't know. Dancing? Well, she said a lot of this is going to be edited out. Oh, okay.
It doesn't sound like it got edited out. No. Sounds like it made it. Well, that's why Ellen is great. She's very real and you can relate to her. I agree. People have bad days, you know. Very true. Thank you. Leave her alone. Yeah. Sounds like she's faked it up until this point. What? She's sick. She's not well right now. Sometimes she has bad days and good days, or sad days, but when she comes out there, she always puts on a happy face. No, she said the audience makes her happy. She didn't say she's phony. She says the audience makes her happy. What happened today? She hates that audience. It was too much for her. Why are you being like this? She hates her audience now? That's messed up. Shut the hell up. Really messed up. You don't know. You don't watch the show. She's evil. What happened? Shut up, Eddie. I won't. You don't watch the freaking show. I've seen it many times. Ashley's very defensive of Ellen. She really loves Ellen. It's annoying. Why? She'll support Ellen right to the very end. She's not annoying. But Ellen hates her audience. She does not. You guys are twisting it. I'm not listening to any of this. And she's a dog hater. She's not. She makes me hate her. How ironic is it that Ashley's loyal to her like a little dog? Yeah.
And Ashley is a dog trainer. Yeah. You don't understand how bad that is. She messed up. Brutal. She's clearly, she is clearly a dog and animal lover, Ellen is. What do you think she would think of you turning dogs' faces into salad dressing? Oh, that's horrible. You can throw that in my face all you want. Using animals like that. Yeah, I might as well. You're going to throw it right in the dog's face. Yeah. Yeah, I will. It's a little balsamic. Yeah. Half vinegar, half water. Spray it right in the dog's face. Yeah, that's right. Mix some radicchio in there and you got a salad, kid. It's called correction. Yeah. Do you make that dog salad with or without anchovy? You're ridiculous. We're talking a real Caesar here. Blue chains in your face. You don't know. I don't care how vinegar up any dog. Shut up. You don't even know. You're acting really bad. Thousand Island. That's right. If only I had some honey mustard. I don't. Catalina. Shut up. I don't have any Roquefort right now. You're so bad. You know what is nice about you sometimes though?
Little slivered almonds. Really? I'll throw this crouton right in your eye. Shut up, Eddie. Fido. It's half vinegar, half water. They should change the name of it to Dog Plantation. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. They make the best salads. Dogs. Faces. It's the best salad I've ever had. Dog face salad you've ever had. It's the best. You guys ever made a salad out of your dog's face? Shut up. It's the best kind. Dog face salad with some bacon bits? Yeah. Maybe a little nice, little high boiled eggs sprinkled over. Have you ever gone to the dog face salad bar? Yeah. You just keep going back. Back and back and back, whenever you want. Once you've had dog-faced salad, never go back. That's what they say. Do you hear what you're saying here? That's what they say. Cucumbers, sprouts. You want some red onions? I don't even sound like that. Whiskers, beets. Anybody? Garbanzo beans. Skye. Canines. They're stupid. Kibble. Shut them up. If I had that power. Wrap up the show. This is ridiculous. Hey, Fido.
You want a little Italian today? Or should we keep with the huge? Can I request a Metallica? I mean, this is ridiculous. How about some Newman's Own, huh? What do you think about that? Missy's supposed to be on that. Make a wonderful spinach salad. Nice, warm, dog-faced spinach salad. That's right. You toss it in a wooden bowl. Of course. You don't want to lose the heat. We'll rub a little garlic around the bowl and toss that dog's face right in it. It's fine. Mock the dog trainer. I don't have 14 years of experience. Mock me all you will. I don't know what I'm talking about. I know we've heard from real experts that say it's wrong, but I know what I'm talking about. We have. I know what I'm talking about. I've had Hidden Valley rant. I am a real expert, actually. I would say 14 years of experience. I use real egg yolk in my dog face, Caesar. Make me real. Expert. Know what I'm doing. And sardines. The trick is to keep the dog's face from eating the sardines before you do. Shut the hell up. Why don't you take a little sigh to shut the hell up and put that on your dog face salad. How about that?
You want Lisa's on the line? Go ahead, Lisa. I just want to know if it's okay if we spray Ashley in the face with half water, half vinegar, see how much she likes it. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Ashley face, Sally. Why? Because when I was 10 years old, everyone called me a dog and I got made fun of. Is that why, ma'am? And I like put the salt in the wound. Hit the hot spot. Are you going to cry again? Oh, don't cry. I'm not going to freaking cry, but it's like this woman knows that when I was 10 years old, I got made fun of, and all the guys called me a dog, and they'd make barking sounds every time I walked by. So now she's implying that I'm a dog. It's messed up. Leave it alone! It'd be like her calling up and, you know, being like, hey, Mikey, can I bring you down a He-Man? How did I get involved? No, I'm saying. Keepers, creepers. Does she have a heart? Mikey Show, hello. Yeah, I was just curious. That sad song you used, is that from Spirited Away? It's called Ashley's Theme, and it's by John Williams. Wait, why is it my theme? Why is it my theme? What are you? It's really cool because we actually have John here in the studio playing it live. Hi, John. Here he is over there with his bald-heading glasses. It's more of a cul-de-sac. It's gained a lot of weight over the years. A little bit, yeah. Rude, Sean.
I'm just saying. It's so strange. He almost looks like Senator Larry Craig. Kind of resembles him. It's true. He does. Just look at him over there. I am not gay. I never have been gay. He's over there in his black turtleneck, just playing away on that. It's gorgeous. I mean, is that all he owns, his black turtleneck? I guess so, because every time. He can hear you. Every time you see him, he's wearing a black turtleneck. It's slimming. But this is San Diego. It is slimming. Yeah, it's San Diego, man. It's chilly in here. You wear your mod coat. Mix a t-shirt. John Williams, are you hearing this? A little busy right now. He's a little busy. I'm trying to conduct. Giving you a dirty look. It's going to look like I'm busy over here right now. You want this beautiful music to keep happening. Exactly. It is beautiful. You're doing a great job, John. It's just weird that he always chooses to wear Speedos with that jacket. That is strange. I don't like that. He can do whatever he wants as long as he makes this music. That's right. It's really fantastic, John. Thank you for coming. You can stop now. Oh, quite abrupt. I told him he could stop. Hey, play Star Wars. Yeah, can you play Star Wars? Hey, John. Thank you, John Williams. Famous Hollywood conductor. We had Raiders of the Lost Archive. Oh, it'd be the greatest thing. I would request it.
Be the greatest thing. He doesn't know how to play it. I don't know if he does. Well, maybe he can work on that. That's Superman. Raiders. Raiders. Did he do Jurassic Park? Yeah, but now you got my head on Raiders. Sorry. Raiders is... He's concentrating so hard right now. How's it go, Mike? I want to hear what it sounds like. I wish Mike would sing it for me. It'd be cool if Ashley were looking for it. Mikey Show, hello. Yeah, this is P1 John Doe's Apprentice. I was wondering, my dog's acting up right now. I don't have any vinegar and water. I wanted to ask Ashley if I could make, like, a pill paste with my girlfriend's birth control pills and a little bit of urine and spray the dog in the face with that. Yes, sir. Go ahead and do that. People are calling in to tell me. How does the Raiders theme go? How does the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme go? Say again? How does the Raiders... Yeah, he was trying to let us work it out. Oh, I see.
Well, it's not like they have the sheet music just like right there. They got to get it. Got to get ready for it. Oh. What else did you write, John? John, you were playing that at the same time. Too different. Go ahead, John. Nobody's doing it at the same time. Play it again, John. Play it again. He's got that idiot with the guitar in the background. Yeah. Write sheet music. You're on the wrong sheet. Yeah, yeah, yeah. John, play it again. Four. John. Hey, get the guitar guy to write me. Zeph. Wow. It's weird. God, can we get it together? Can we get our orchestra together? Please. I like John Williams. He's awesome. He's no David Shore, but... Oh, how dare you? Duh. He's no Danny Elfman. That's true, too. Yeah, or Jenna Elfman. That's a good point. He's no Mario Ancono, but I... You listen. Wow. But listen. I dropped my cap. But listen. Wow. He's also not a John Goldsmith. But, you know, I tell you, the two guys are very... I thought you were making up Jewish names. They're very...
Mikey, we want to know if Ashley would like to take over our spot on the Monopoly board. I mean, between her and her pits sweating, her flooding her apartment, and her intense crying all the time, we thought she could do a better spot on the board than we would signed Waterworks. That got you a little bit. I can see it in your face. That's funny. Come on. That's creative, but it's still making fun of my girl, and I don't appreciate that. Mine doesn't affect my personal life. Don't care? Yes, you do. Come on, a little bit. I really don't. If I cared, I mean, I would really be going insane. So... So, dot, dot. Dot, dot, dot. Mikey, better movie 300 or Transformers? Get out of here. That's so stupid. That's insulting to me. That is insulting to me. That is so stupid. Transformers is very good, but 300 is another level. Please. Now, I'll tell you a good question. What's better? 300 or pick one of the... Gladiator. No, Lord of the Rings. Pick one. You can pick one. And that's a good argument.
Return of the King or any of them against 300. Be tough for me to decide because I love those movies so much. Yeah, I'd go on Lord of the Rings. You'd go Lord of the Rings for sure? Easy. Why? Because it's so good. I love those movies. Those are some of my... They're my second favorite trilogy. Wow. That's quite a statement. Lord of the Rings or Star Wars? Well, he just said, guy. What'd you think? Mannequin was my... Yeah, I was pretty sure. It's a good trilogy. I mean, come on. The Mannequin Trilogy. Was there a Mannequin 3? I think so. If not, there should be. A lot of unanswered questions. Well, yeah. There's not a lot of movies better than The Lord of the Rings and 300 in terms of that kind of stuff. There's just not. Godfather Trilogy? That's a different thing. You got a different... And Godfather 3 was terrible. It kind of knocks it down.
If you're talking about two movies, you know, Godfather 1 and 2 are up against anything. Oh, please. Of course. But you had three in there and you're like, eh. Jurassic Park. How does that music go? Oh, um. This will drive me. Oh, that's good. Okay, dude, I get it. All right. That's great music. Yeah. Okay. You don't remember that? JW, dude. He's the best. What else? Give me another one. Another movie? Yeah, another John Williams movie. Close Encounters. Perfect. Love it. My favorite. It's my ringtone. What else? It's all Steven Spielberg. Yeah, pretty much.
Mikey Show, hello. Who's Saving Private Ryan? I could do it. You give me enough time. I could do it actually right now. No. I could. What do you got? Get out of here with you. What does he do? Come on. You got nothing. I know I was right. You got nothing. What the hell? It's all worked up over it. It's too orchestrated. I know. Film score. Film score. He's going to prove us wrong. I know. Trying to experience the forgotten one. That's it. It's a music from Saving Private Ryan. I went da-da-da-da-da-da. Okay, I'll give it to you. It's time to end the forgotten war and in a time of bravery. Can't play the rest of that. Old version of the show. Mikey's show, hello. You're up. Yeah. Oh, yeah, I could name another John Williams song. Which one? Superman. Yeah. Did he do that?
I don't think he did. I think Jerry Goldsmith did Superman. I'm pretty sure it's John Williams. I actually don't think it is. Google it. Pretty sure. I got both the Krypton planet and the main theme. I think he's right. It's Jerry Goldsmith or it's John Williams. It is John Williams. It is? Yeah. Good one, dude. Wow. Good one. That's great music. Shut up. Mikey Show. Hello. Hello. What's up? This is P1 Fuzzy Nuts. What's up? What's up? I think John did the song Who Let the Dogs Out? Yes, he did. Yes, he did. John Williams wrote Who Let the Dogs Out? I think he also did Whoomp, There It Is. Yeah, he did. War of the Worlds. Rump Shaker. Harry Potter. Memoirs of a Geisha. Baby Got Back. Ooh, that's a good one. Heard he did OPP, too. Schindler's List. Ooh, Sean. Schindler's List. Sean's not on anymore. Home Alone. Caddyshack 2. All right, let's wrap her up. God, he's awesome. 570-1053. And you can call about anything you want. Oh, yeah. I forgot about this one. Weekend at Bernie's.
Mikey Show. Which one did he do? It's a few on matches. He did E.T. He did E.T. How'd that go? E.T. went... Eddie, can you remember? No. See, when people give me the first couple bars, I remember it immediately. Oh, bing. There it is. You got it? Somebody's got to call and hum that. Oh, I think I might have it. E.T.? Play it. Instantly. Yeah, I do. Let me hear it. Okay. Play it. That's it. Reminds me of on the lot. Yeah. All right, we got to go. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, it's P1 Supercharger. What's up? I was wondering, since the Chargers aren't playing this weekend, what Eddie's going to be looking forward to the most? What game? Oh, what game? That's a good question. Let's take a look. What do we got, Eddie? Hold on. No. Standing by. Oh, you keep doing it.
We've got to go higher, Mike. Wow, all these games really suck, to be honest with you. Waiting for two weeks from now for the Colts and the Patriots? Definitely. I say none. Listen to these matchups. Washington, Arizona. Dog. New Orleans, Atlanta. Dog. Baltimore, Buffalo. Dog. Dallas, Minnesota. New England, Miami. Giants, 49ers. No, thank you. Detroit, Tampa Bay. Houston, Tennessee. Oh, that sounds great. Oakland, Kansas City. Cincinnati, Jets. Philadelphia, Chicago. Seattle, St. Louis. And Pittsburgh and Denver. Those are all terribly boring games. Bad games. All right, thanks, dude. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home.
Yeah, I was calling. This is Mike, and I'm trying to figure out how to become a P1. You are one. I am one. You are one. You called in. You had your radio turned down. You didn't cuss, and you got to your point. Pedal faster, Eddie. And when you do that, it makes you a P1. Oh, my God, you're playing. When you turn your radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss, you're a P1. Eddie's flying right now. All right, now I'm good. Thank you. Oh, no. 200 feet in the air. Oh. seven dysfunctional people together. The lovely and talented Missy. Did John Williams do this one too? Yes, that's right. This is John Williams' most famous piece. All request lunch hour today. Enjoy. We will see you again tomorrow at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out late.
