Mikey opened the show by riffing on the pointless 'hello?' habit and the false suspense it creates, a bit expanded by Boston Rob's caller‑ID sketch. Eddie shared his first eyebrow‑tweeze experience and the gang talked about gray hair, while Ashley defended her habit of wearing indoor slippers outside despite her husband's outdoor‑slipper rule. Sean confessed he prefers women's deodorant like Teen Spirit, and Ashley and Sky's legendary 18‑minute fight was highlighted as a prime candidate for the best‑of CD. The show also featured Larry Craig's denial of gay activity on the Matt Lauer interview, Joe Rogan's UFC 77 preview and stand‑up remarks, and A.J. Smith's breakdown of the Chris Chambers trade and its boost to the Chargers' receiving corps.

Welcome to the show. It is 6.05. A new report by the CDC says that American deaths from drug-resistant staph infections could pass the death toll from AIDS. The Chargers added some firepower. They traded for Miami wide receiver Chris Chambers yesterday. Sky, when you said that, two things struck me. A, it struck me that there's a whole lot of these drug-resistant staph infections going on, but it also struck me that I bet we're starting to get a handle on the deaths. From AIDS. People probably, you know, when people are, you hear now of people having HIV and living long, healthy lives through a series of medications. I hadn't heard that once people develop AIDS that they live very long. I hadn't heard that. But maybe what it means is that less people are getting AIDS. More people are HIV positive.
But it's not turning it. You know what I mean? That's a positive spin. I like it. It's not turning into AIDS. Could be. I don't know. What do I know? I'm just a DJ. Tell me that's it, please. Could be. Right? I hope so. I don't know. Say it, Sky. It's it, Sean. Oh, thank God. Welcome to the program. My name's Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 37 years old. One thing that is... Something that I'm guilty of, that I'm really starting to examine is, when your cell phone rings these days, you generally know who it is. Yet, we still answer by saying, hello. And make no mistake about it, it's hello question mark. It's, hello, I wonder who this is. I don't know who's on the phone. Hello, could be anybody. But you know exactly who it is. Whether you're at home or you're answering your cell phone, you know exactly who's calling you. Yet, we all do this little song and dance as if caller ID has not existed. Please stop calling me. Just like that back in the day. You go back 15 years ago or 20 years ago or however long ago it was when caller ID didn't exist. You literally did answer the phone wondering who it was.
But what we're doing now with our cell phones is the equivalent of opening our front door, seeing our friend and going, yes, may I help you? Don't know you. Can I help you with something? Yeah. And the person's waving, going, yeah, it's me, Boston Rob. You could see me. Why are you pretending you don't know who I am yet? Oh, oh, hi, Boston Rob. Now that you've said you're Boston Rob, I recognize you. It's false suspense. What? Well said. I totally get what you're saying. False suspense. Well, I'm going to make you a promise. From this point on, if anybody calls me, any of you, I will answer by saying hello to you. So you'll say, hello, Boston Rob. Once a year, I'll say, hi, Sky. Right? You know what I mean? Yeah. Hey, Boston Rob. What's up?
I got a call yesterday from Kimberly King, and I felt like such a nerd. Hello. Hi, Mikey. It's Kimberly King. Oh, hi, Kimberly. No. Well, you sound so shocked. You saw it right there on your caller ID. Idiot. You scam artist. Why do you lie, liar? Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 34 years old. Eddie, tell me something about you. I did something for the first time this morning that I'm probably going to have to do as I progressively age. I had to tweeze an eyebrow for the first time because of a long eyebrow hair, which really made me feel old. I've never had that before. It was like crazy. And I'm like, what is this?
That's a sad moment, right? It is. I look at my dad and he's got wacko eyebrows. I'm like, oh, great. Here we go. Here we go. My dad looks like Oscar the Grouch. I'm like, your hair's next. I know it. I don't want it. Our parents, our dads, they don't do anything about it. They're not touching that. Not me, though. I will not be that guy. In fact, now, my process is now, Eddie. I don't know what they're for. But I have these tiny little scissors. I don't know what you're supposed to use them for. But they're these little scissors. Found them, you know, my wife had them. And that's my eyebrow clipper. Oh, you have to do it too? Oh, dude. I mean, I went through the pain you're going through probably around 34 as well. I'm 37 now. And, dude, I'll tell you my story with that stuff. I had one that was...
Eddie and I just distracted there. Sorry. Wow. What? Good morning to you. They're getting a little out of control. The girls? I had to harness them. Hey, ladies. You come here. Hey, don't go out for coffee, you. Yeah, where do you think you're going? Get back over here. A little cream with your sugar? Okay. Because this guy looks confused. She knows exactly what that meant. You don't have to look confused. I'm not confused. I'm disgusted. All right. I was about to take a sip of my coffee. Even better. Continue. Anyway. So, eyebrow hair, huh? Wait till you get the gray one. It where? Eyebrow. No, there's no chorus. Oh, yeah. You don't get gray hairs in your eyes. Of course you do. I already got two. Take a look at your dad's eyebrows. Oh, I haven't had that yet. It's probably years away from you. Oh, no. You're a young man. Hey, it's a cool thing. It makes me look more distinguished. Shut up. You shut up, you little kid. I got two of them. You're a little kid. You don't know what you're talking about.
I'm almost 25, dude. I'm getting up there. I'm getting pretty salt and peppery in the goat, and I'm kind of worried about that. Really? Yeah. You don't think it's distinguished? No. Why? Eddie, would you ever take the step? No. You wouldn't? No. What about your eyebrows? What about if you're getting your back waxed and the lady says, hey, I can take care of those eyebrows for you if they started getting gray? Would you do it? No. Never. See, I won't go that far either. I'll let him go. I kind of think gray is distinguished. It is what it is. Wait till you get one of those dudes growing out of there. That sucks. It's all over. Look, it's shiny. It's almost full gray goatee. It's ridiculous. Skye, you get any gray hairs? I don't think so. Excuse me. I don't think so. Which is weird because I expected it. I take after my father's side and they all just gray prematurely. but whenever I let my hair grow out, like, I don't see any gray. Okay, I had a frog in my throat. I'm sorry. I apologize. We're adults here. We're not adults here. We're not adults here. You will try so hard to make it seem like you didn't just do it, but it's like the elephant in the room. I said excuse me. I know, and you're so...
Then come on. Excuse me. No, I have not found any gray hairs yet. Pardon. Not yet. Pardon me. I had a tickle. It's so cute. You must be the sweet and low. Sky's 29. She's our news girl. Tell me something about you, Skane. Yeah, birthday week. That's what I'm talking about, Ashley. Yes, for the record, it is the birthday week. And at my house, my husband has strict rules about slippers that I do not follow. And we fight. I mean, not like real fight, but he gets upset with me because I always violate the slipper policy. What is it?
Well, so I'd always run around town in my slippers, and he couldn't stop me. Outside the house? Yes. She wears them in here on a daily basis. That's right. You go to a store with those? Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. I'll go to dinner. I'll go to the bank. I don't give a rip. I'll go to bonds. They're not meant for that. I'll go pump gas. You don't pump your own gas. Will you please? Well, occasionally when I pump my own gas, I don't mind doing it in the slippers. But anyway, so my husband tried to shame me out of it, tried to embarrass me. Everything wouldn't work. So finally he's like, okay, I figured it out. I am going to buy you a pair of outdoor slippers. So you will have your outdoor slippers and you will have your indoor slippers. Once I purchase the outdoor slippers, you are never allowed to wear the indoor slippers outside ever again. That's all I do is wear the inside slippers out. The black ones you always see me wear to work, those are my inside slippers. Well, I think his flaw. from the very start, is to get you a pair of unfamiliar slippers. Like, knowing you the way I know you, what do you want to do with something unfamiliar on your feet? You know, the phrase is, it's like an old pair of slippers. That's the phrase. So, yeah, so the outside slippers just gather dust in my closet, and indoor slippers go everywhere. Thank you. Have you even worn the, like, maybe you wore them the first time just to try them on?
One day, I really wanted to wear slippers, but it was wet outside because it had rained, so I wore the outside slippers. But that was the only time. Because they're more like little boots. Boots. Little boots. Yeah. I went through a slipper phase where I wanted to have a pair of slippers. So I bought a pair and I would wear them and instantly not like how hot they made my feet. I am the same way. Oh, yeah. Your feet do get hot and sweaty. Exactly the same way. I have a nice pair that I don't ever wear because of that reason. Really? Yeah. So I switched. I said, okay, well, these obviously aren't right for me. I'll buy a different kind that aren't. So I got those and I didn't like those because. Hot and sweaty. Just a little too hot. So I bought yet a third pair. Oh. And those felt a little bit more comfortable. And I wore them twice. And then realize, well, I don't use them. I just don't. Where do I put them? Where do they go? Just go barefoot. What are you waking up in the morning going out and getting the paper? Exactly. You don't need them. You don't need anything. Just go barefoot. It's the best way to go. That's what I do. She does, man. She walks around this building. I hate shoes. Do you have to understand, listeners, this is a gigantic building. The managers are upstairs. Downstairs, it's all hoodlums.
That's who runs the downstairs. The downstairs is all studios. So it's artistic people. So you see the people like Ashley running around with no shoes on. Literally running around. And then she sits down. Literally. Literally. I sprint down those halls. And she'll sit down in our office and she'll do the thing where she puts her leg over her other leg and you see the bottom of those paws. They look like paws. Paws. Yeah. Little bunny paws. Yep. Bunny paws are cute and clean. That's why I love the summer. They're so foul. Sean is our sound effects guy. You don't mean that, Eddie. Oh, I do. She's 37 years of age. No, you don't. Sean, give us an example of your sound effects. Hug it out, bitch. That's Sean. Sean, tell me something about you.
I wear women's deodorant. What's with this song? That better not be true. It is. It better not be true. It is true. He's being shocking. He's not. He's doing his thing. What? He eats baby food. He wears women's deodorant. He collects snow globes. What? Hey. No way. What? My deal I know is different than your guy's deal. Your guy's deal is why would you do that? My deal is Why are you just telling us now? That's so interesting. You wear... Do you wear secret? Oh, I just got a big smile on his face. That's a good brand. I do. Well, it is strong enough for a man. The gel or the powder, like the white? Powder fresh. Yeah, it's the solid. Oh, you do the solid. And it's the vanilla.
Whoa, interesting. I think it smells really good. And I also wear Teen Spirit. Sick. Teen Spirit's a good one. I wore that when I was 14. That's a fragrance of the secret? I wore that when I was 14, yeah. It's a fragrance? Teen. Made for teens. Yeah, so I wore it when I was 14. When I was 14, I wore that. It was my favorite deodorant. But Sean, the product brand says that although it is strong enough for a man, it's typically made for a woman. So, I mean... That's what it says. So, you know, I think that that is their polite way of saying, hey, listen, fellas, off limits. Well, you know what? I'm a nonconformist. Like it. Nice. I like it. I don't like the way guys' deodorant smells. I think a lot of it smells like grass. That Old Spice. Old Spice is the exception. I do have Old Spice as well, but I haven't worn it in a couple of years. Sean, you don't like the smell of regular Speed Stick Menin? Oh, no. It's bitter and grassy. Grassy? And wonderful? Mm-mm. Oh, that's fascinating to me. The guy wears Teen Spirit by secret.
Fun flavors. What is your wife? I mean, what was her reaction the first time she became aware of it? She... I mean, I... She didn't make a comment? She didn't say... I mean, no. It's never been discussed? I like that too, I guess, was her comment. Wow. Come on. I'm not kidding. She never said, oh, that's so cute. You wear the women's kind. No. No. I mean, they have unscented, like, men. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I don't like unscented. You want to smell like a chick? I want to smell like something. I want to smell like vanilla or coconut. That's traditionally chick scent. Hey, that's your deal, man. That's your hang-up, bro. Ashley is our assistant producer. She is 24 years old. Ashley, we had a fun day yesterday, right? Yeah. Ashley and I are going through and we're editing.
The best of the Mikey Show CD. It's being edited right now. It's going to be released. Towards Christmas time. Maybe even right after Thanksgiving. To give people a chance to be able to buy it. I will make a guarantee. This will be the best Mikey Show. Best of CD ever. I mean in the history of the show. Of me being on the radio. And having best of CDs. This is going to be the best one ever. So we're editing yesterday. You know, I had all year long, I've been writing down things that I think would be good. And a lot of the things, you know, I've been talking to Eddie about it and neither of us remember it. Like I'll bring it up and I'll go, how about this one? But because we do the show every day, it all kinds of, it blends together. And so he goes, I don't remember. And I said, I don't really either, but there's, I wrote it down. I got to listen to it. So one of the things that I wrote down was the Ashley and Sky fight.
Because they are each other's allies, and in the history of the show, they've only fought one time. That was the first thing he brought up to me yesterday. Why would you want it? First bit. Sky, you gotta hear it. Dude, it was not comfortable. No, I wouldn't think so. It was really crazy. On a scale of one to ten, it's a ten. It's crazy. It's a ten. Whoa. It's... No. It's outrageous. It's sensational. It is over the top compelling. It's hysterical at times. Not for us at all. Of course not. Listen, I'm telling you, Eddie, wait till you re-listen. Wait till you re-listen to this thing. supposed to be funny. It's crazy because you got to think in three years it's the only fight me and Sky have ever gotten into. Like real legitimate fight and it was on the air. You guys made it count. You figured if we're only going to do it one time in three years we better make it count. It was crazy. Let me tell you something. That's crazy! When you listen back to it it is two heavyweights in their prime. It's Muhammad Ali
versus Joe Frazier. Oh, really? In their prime. And you think one of them's going down? Uh-uh. Up off the canvas, ready to fight another day. Ready to bring it again. I mean, listening back to it, I go, well, of course I wrote this down. It's an electric bit. Wow. Electric. Well, I wouldn't call it a bit. It's electric. Anything we do on the air, I will... Categorize as a bit. And wait till you hear it. I don't want to. I will never listen to that. Oh, Sky. I will never listen to that. You have to. No, I will not. I will not. I'm telling you, it's like watching film when you're in your prime. Okay, don't listen now. Listen when you're retired. And you go, yeah, I was good. I was good, all right. Okay. I was good. I was one of the best. Well, I don't know if that's what I'll say, but that'd probably be the soonest I'd be able to listen to that.
After listening to it, I nominate both of you for the Chick Fighting Hall of Fame. Try being with Mikey and like going minute for minute through the whole thing. I'm so sorry. Let me tell you something. It was so uncomfortable for both of us. And the editing process was maddening. Because everything was so compelling and crazy. I was like, you know how long it was? 18 minutes. It was 18 minutes long. I go, how do we cut stuff out of this? But we have to. We have to make cuts. And I'm like, that's great. That's great. Eddie, you have a line here. I'll say something here. Sean says something. This sound effect comes on. Rob makes a one line. I mean, how do you do it? What do you want? You want the tears to come out of my eyes? Ashley's 24, assistant producer. Tell me something about you, Ash. Oh, okay. Well, I'll just make this quick. I have...
A special situation, like, on my head, I don't think most people have. I have two calluses as opposed to one. Do you know, like, a callus, right? Yeah, a callus is something you develop, like, on your hands or something. No. Or the bottom of your feet. Tough skin. Tough skin. Where your hair grows out of? Callic. Callic. Oh, my God. Not a callus. Callic. Yes. I like to think she has calluses. Callic. So, most people have one on their head? I don't have one. I don't think. Where your hair grows out of? Everyone has one. Everyone has one? Yeah, but I have two, and it's genetic, like my brother does two. And so growing up, I didn't really know how to do my hair, and I would pull my hair back in a ponytail. And since I had these two calluses on either side of my head, it would... Callic, callic, callic, callic. I had these two calluses. It's callus. Callus. It's callus. Because I had the two calluses on either side, I'd pull my hair back in a ponytail, and it would like... It wouldn't show my hair. It would just show where the growing spot was, so it would look like I had bald spots. So when I was like 10 or 11, I would get bullied by my girlfriends, or not really my friends, but girls, and they would say that I have bald spots and that I'm balding, and they would make fun of me at soccer practice behind my back, which was really fun for me. Wow. Well, who's laughing now? You know. Right? Right. They're all in prison. Yeah.
No, they're not. They're not? Do you know what they're up to? They're all bald. Some of them are down here. Are they popular and are they doing well? I bet none of them can say they've been successfully through rehab. Some of them are doing well. I don't, I mean. You know what I mean? They can't say that, bunch of jerks. Like successful. I'm talking like the whole dang program. That's what I say to my friends that I went to high school with. Hey, listen, I did 30 days and got out. How do you like that? What do you think about my calluses now? On my head. I just have two calluses as opposed to one. Boston Rob is 24. I don't want to. He is our phone screener. And man, I'll tell you what, I felt... Yeah, last night sucked. Whoa. I don't know. It's just one of those deals where you give somebody an option and you just kind of hope they go the right way. And when they don't, all you can do is say, you know, I guess we make our own decisions and everything. But it is what it is. Wow. You know, it is what it is. Just have to keep that in mind for next season, I guess. Rob, tell me something about you. Something I'm trying to work on, I've only noticed it in the past couple of weeks, is that I sing in the car all the time. And I do it even when I'm with other people, which I didn't really realize.
Like if I'm with my brother or with my girlfriend, it doesn't matter what song comes on. I'll make up my own lyrics to it. And I kind of figured that I'm annoying people. So lately I've been trying to work on not doing that. Really? Yeah. And I got it from my mother. My mother does it. It doesn't matter. She'll be in a car full of complete strangers. And she did it. She started singing in the elevator one time because there was elevator music going on. Right. So it's genetic. And I'm trying to break myself with a habit. 570-1053 is the phone number. You can call us at the beginning of the show and the end of the show and talk about anything. Hopefully, you're a P1 listener. P1s, turn their radio down, get to their point, and don't cuss. If you do that when you call in, you're a P1. Also, you make new P1s. You tell other people about the Mikey Show. You turn other people on to it because it's usually as simple as that. People just don't know. Most people have never heard of the Mikey Show. Most people have just never heard of it. You've got to tell them. You've got to say, hey, you listen to the mic. You say, no, what's that? That's on 105.3. Ah, cool. And turn them on to it. P1 Paparazzi is on the line. He takes photographs at personal appearances that we do, and so we call him Paparazzi. What's going on, Brad? I have a suggestion and a question. Go ahead. Suggestions for the best of CD. You guys have to do the Dumb Chick Challenge where B-Rob...
Flipped out because you guys called him a cheater. Ah, good one. That was a good one. Good one. Yeah, you know, Eddie was talking about the hits yesterday back in the office. He goes, what about the hits? And what he meant by that is like the big stuff that we do. You know, the tough love with Eddie and the dumb chick challenge and all the, you know, as they say, the benchmarks of the Mikey show. I said, man, there's so many. How do we decide? We've got to go through them and just listen to them and stuff, but that's a good suggestion. Go ahead, paparazzi. What's your other thing? And my question is, you're talking about how everybody knows who's calling on their cell phone, but how about the fact that everybody's had answer machines for at least two to three times as long as CallRD's been out, and we still have leave a message at the beep. That's true, too. It's like we know what to do. Yeah, we know. You don't have to explain that. If we don't know that, then we have bigger problems than you're not home. That's why you take the opportunity to make it creative and, like, be fun and have fun with it. Yeah. Like, make a joke or, like, be cool. Like, Rob, they know, is really funny. Have you heard my new one? His is good. I don't even listen to him, but I love making them. Is it the one... Thank you, paparazzi. Is it the one... It's really good. If it's the same one, it was infuriating the last time I called it. No! The last time I called his voicemail, it went, Hey, this is Rob.
And I'm probably working really hard right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was so irritated. I'm busy at work right now. I was probably doing something really important. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was so irritated because I was calling him because I was angry that he hadn't been doing the stuff that I... The irony. And I'm like, not only does he not do it, but then he, like, mocks it on his answer. Oh, wow. Actually, at that moment in time, I was doing the work you were calling about. Is that right? It takes brass balls. Even though there was a Yankee game going on at that time, so I know you weren't. You were watching that Yankee game. I was doing both. That's right. Of course. Or you can be like, oh, let my secretary take the message, and then the woman's voice comes on. The woman's voice? What woman's voice? That says, leave a message after the beat. P1 Craig says that Brad Paparazzi stole that bit from Seinfeld. The leave a message. Yeah, that's a very famous Seinfeld bit. Carlos Mencia is really mad right now. And great. Joe Rogan's on today. Oh, paparazzi, you're done. If Rogan heard that, you are done. He won't stop, bro, until paparazzi is exposed to the world. You're out of comedy. Forget it. Yeah, you're out of comedy. Guys, a kleptomaniac. First IMs, now this. On the show today. Today's good.
First of all, who can Sean beat now? Oh, chill it out. Chill it out. All right. Chill up. Okay. Chill up. 80s name that tune against Sean. Then we're going to give you like practically all of the Matt Lauer, Senator Larry Craig and the gay bathroom interview. Something else. Which, by the way, I need because last night. Wasn't even on my radar. No, I announced it all morning long. Don't forget, Larry Craig, the night, 8 o'clock, blah, blah, blah. Matt Lauer interview. It's going to be crazy. Hopiatexin, blah, blah, blah. Didn't even think about it. What? Didn't TiVo, didn't watch. Oh, damn it. Nothing. It's crazy. Oh. Which I'm really ashamed of. You know, it's important. It's important stuff. I got to be able to do this. I'm going to start sending myself notes and whatever. I just didn't even think of it. So we'll play that back. That'll be interesting. From TMZ TV, Katie Daryl. who also used to be our news girl in Dallas, is going to be on the show today talking about all of the Hollywood goings on. It's a trip, too, man, because she's got to get up at, like, her day starts at, like, 6 in the morning, and then it doesn't end until after the show airs. They're just constantly doing stuff, you know, Hollywood stuff. So we'll talk to Katie Daryl. She's also one of the hosts of a TV show on the HDNet. Joe Rogan will be on the show today.
And a couple of things with Joe Rogan. One, UFC is this weekend. Yes. And the other deal is he's performing here in San Diego November 2nd. Nice. Or November 1st. Second. A.J. Smith, the general manager of the Chargers, on the Mikey Show today. Let's talk about Chris Chambers, the new acquisition, big name wide receiver. So we'll talk to him about that. Also got to tell you, the DNA results. For Boston Rob, where we find out whether or not he's a father, that is November 1st. I don't know what day that is, but it's November 1st. He's going to find out. So probably November 2nd. It's a Friday, so it's going to be Thursday. It's going to be Thursday. So I don't know when it will happen. Will she get the results in the afternoon or whatever? Oh, he gets a copy. Oh, you get a copy. He'll find out. Okay. So we'll tell you whether or not Boston Rob is a dad.
on November 1st. Wow. And we start something new today that is just unbelievable. It's unbelievable. If you have a cell phone, I'm introducing you to something today that, I'm not kidding you, has been, we've been working on this for, I'm counting the months in my head. One year, four months. To ensure that Tecate Light remains true to its Mexican cerveza roots, we will not refer to Tecate Light as light b****.
We feel its Mexican flavor and attitude are much too bold to be referred to as an ordinary light b****. In fact, to our censors, b**** is a four-letter word. They didn't even allow b**** to be mentioned in the same commercial as Tecate Light. Not even to explain the difference between b**** and cerveza. So as you can hear, all references to b**** have been censored for your protection in order to avoid any unintended association between light b****. And Tecate Light Cerveza. Tecate Light, Mexico's number one cerveza light. It's not **** cerveza. Enjoy Tecate Light responsibly 2007. Cervezas Mexicanas, White Plains, New York. P1 Johnny. That's me. Dude, tell me your AIS story. I walk into AIS and I've gotten a couple other quotes from a couple different places and AIS tells me that they can do this thing. I have a ticket that drops off in October, October 10th. And he gives me a quote without the ticket. And he tells me this because AIS will give you, if it's within 30 days when it drops off, they will quote you without that point on your record, even though every other place quoted me. It saved me like $700 throughout the year. Really? Because he took the ticket off about 25 days before it actually comes off my record. No other place did it for me. You saved $700 by going to AIS. That's right. 1-800-777-4247.
1-800-777-4AIS is the phone number. Were you real happy you did it? I was very happy I did it. You've been hearing about me talk about AIS, right? Over and over again. And I never got it until I walked in there. You're a good person. 1-800-777-4247. Have a great day, guys. Blade Runner Sky. I don't have very many friends. Sean. I eat baby food every day. Boston Rob. I have a claim to be a genius. And Ashley. I can't even imagine my life without water. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Welcome back to The Mikey Show at 643. Britney Spears is reportedly planning to go through a Native American healing ritual.
Sorry, Rob. In the ALCS, Boston is now down three games to one to Cleveland as the Indians win game four, seven to three. Sure, it's effeminate, but it gets stuck in your head. What is it? I'm just going to tell you the name of the song. I can't bring myself to tell you the name of it. No way. No, I mean, how are we going to find the song? Just look up the song. Listeners. The song's called The Great Escape. It's by Boys Like Girls. Don't. Oh. Listen, I know what you're thinking. It sounds like boys like boys, but it's... It is.
It really is. The band is called Boys Like Girls. He is a gay man. Boys are like girls? What is it? I think that's what it's called. Maybe they're overcompensating. They really want you to know they like girls. I like boys and girls. I am not gay. I never have been gay. That's their lead singer, right? No. Dear Mikey, I don't have a problem. The subject is my husband wears women's deodorant too. Mikey, I don't have a problem with it. It started a few years back when he ran out of his and started using mine. It works just as well for him, even with him working construction. It's always a construction worker, right? Well, duh. Now when we shop, he has to pick the scent, and I just use whatever women's deodorant he picks. Aw, cute. Just thought I'd let Sean know he's not alone. Signed, P1 Lori. Dear Mikey. Duh. Isn't anyone considering that women's deodorant helps to keep fleas and ticks away from Sean Sean's beaver coat? P1 Josh. It's a pelt. What? It's not a coat. It's not a coat. It's not a coat. Oh. Is what he's saying. It's not a coat. Okay. It's a pelt. We apologize. We're going to be talking to AJ Smith a little bit later on.
he's going to be telling us about picking up Chris Chambers, wide receiver Chris Chambers from Miami. He's good, right, Eddie? Very good. He's in the Pro Bowl, right? He has been in the past. He's been saddled with bad offenses for a little while. So once he gets into a system and has some talent around him, I think he's really going to be really good. Tell me this. Is this bad news for someone like me that has Antonio Gates in their fantasy football? No. Antonio Gates is always going to be the Chargers' number one. He's going to be their number one option wide receiver, even though he plays tight end. But it just adds a little bit more talent to the wide receiver position. put Eric Parker on injured reserve, so he's not going to play at all this year, which they were expecting him to come back and contribute a little bit. And so they obviously saw something, and they said, well, he's not going to be able to play. So they put him on injured reserve, and then they needed a spark or something at the wide receiver position. And so they went out and got Chris Chambers, which is great. I think AJ's real smart. Okay, let me talk to you about this text thing that we've got going.
And Boston Rob and Zeth are actually going to be a big part of helping to maintain it and helping the thing to work. But it's taken a long time. And I'm going to tell you right up front, this isn't about selling you something. This isn't about junk mail. This isn't about junk text. This isn't about this is something that I wanted as a tool to beat the other guys in town. I wanted it as a tool. To make the P1 Army even more of an army. And I'm telling you, my hand to God on that one, man. That's what this thing is about. It's to, I'll be honest, it's to make other shows in town envious, jealous, and wish they did it. I'm going to be 100% honest with you. It's the P1 Text Army. And this is the way it works. You text the word Mikey to 35235. And we should come up with a snazzy way of saying it, like 35, 235, 235, 235, 235, 235, 235. Oh, it's in my head. So you text the word Mikey to 35235. Yes. And when you do that, you're going to be instantly a part of the P1 text army, which will allow us to be able to give you all sorts of. Okay. For instance.
Let's say this morning we happen to have Jay, our promotions guy, in here with a video camera. And let's say that Eddie does something very physically funny. We have it on video. We post it to the website. Boom. We send you a text. And we can send you a link. Wow. Whoa. You can send him the link? We can send you the link. You can actually send them the link. Send them the link. Wow. Wow. But the great thing is, is that a lot of times you're going to miss stuff and you're not now. Right? You're not going to miss stuff now. That's cool. Because we will text you. And we are, you know, we are going to be in charge of sending out the blasts every day of stuff we're doing, stuff that just happened, stuff that's hilarious. And I'm not, I'm telling you, I'm not going to waste your time with being like, oh, hey, we just did.
Mikey's Gay Pod and it was just another episode of Mikey's Gay Pod and it's not that. We're going to do it when something really awesome is going on. It's cool. Like B-Rub has a meltdown. Yes. And he's standing up and he took his shirt off and he's crazy. That's it. Or like if that day we're having Britney Spears on later in the day. Oh, right. It'll say, hey, be sure and listen later because. She's going to be on. Remember when we were on Entertainment Tonight's website and Perez Hilton's website because we had Kid Rock on and we were the first people to talk to Kid Rock and he gave details about what went down with the fight with him and Tommy Lee? We'll text you. That's cool, man. But the only way that you can get these texts from us is you have to text us first so we have you in our database to text you. And once we got you, we got you. And that's all you'll get. It's just Mikey Show updates. Mikey Show updates. We don't sell your number. We don't give your number out. We don't use it for selling you junk. It's strictly for Mikey Show related stuff, which I got to be honest, man. I'm a fan of radio. If I could have been able to get texts from my favorite radio show about stuff going on, no brainer. Oh, gosh, yes. No brainer. Rob.
Have I explained it correctly, Seth? Have I explained it correctly? That's exactly how it works. Am I missing anything in terms of what people can get? No, not really. I mean, the one thing that I think people need to know is that, like you said, we're not going to blast it. We're not going to send you just random, you know, anything. It's going to be important things about the show that you're going to want to know. And maybe even, you know, you'll know first before anybody else. You're getting the heads up. That's right. That's huge. That is huge. And now we can also, am I right? Can we take polls with it? I think so. Yeah, you should be able to. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wanted that to be a thing too. That's neat. Rob, Rob, Rob, hang on the phones for a second. Yeah. We can take polls? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why is he out of breath? I don't know. Did he run to the microphone? I think he's smoking so much that now the energy that it takes to hang up the phone and turn the microphone on.
It winds in. Well, and when you don't eat and don't get nutrients, you know, you do get run down really quickly. Okay, so is this why I came back to the show? No, no, I'm sorry. Did you need some? Because there's phones ringing. Let me get back to my job. Let me get back to my job. I'm sorry. I don't want you to pass out on the phone. Another side effect, irritable. Okay, I'm going to get these phones on. No, Rob. Don't shut down. Tell me, polls, information of stuff on the show, am I missing anything? No. Okay, so now we could do this. Like, we could do something maybe where we're like, Ashley and Rob, they just got into a fight. Who do you think got the better of it? Text this, you know, for Ashley. Text this for Rob. Yep. What if you are like, hey, we're going to have, like, a succulent cheater's hotel coming up. Like, succulent? Well, like, really juicy. Juicy, like it's going to be a crazy. Cheaters Hotel. Would we give a blast about that? Absolutely. So people know when to tune in? Absolutely. It's so huge. Absolutely. You know what? It could be a situation where I go, I just want to text everybody and say something stupid. Oh, no. Seriously. If a random thought jumps into my head and I just want to share it. Ham. Ham.
I might just every once in a while text you. I would love to get a text that just said ham. Ham. I would love that. That would be great. Eddie. I would too. I'm serious. I like ham. Why would you love that? It would make me hysterically laugh. It would. Yes. It's just a word. If I clipped open my phone and it had a text and it just said ham. It was from us. I would cry laughing. Cry laughing. Cry. I'm not kidding. You're so juvenile. I'm going to try. Thank you. I'm going to try texting right now. I like ham. To me. so that i can join this honey baked go to your text open up a brand new text i had this i had to teach my wife how to she knows how to get texts and have a communication right she doesn't know how to begin a text yeah i had to learn that too a while ago so hopefully those of you that are cell phone savvy know how to do this you're going to text the word mikey To 35235. 35235. 35235. 35235. 35235. who looked like he was going to be paralyzed forever. Well, he ended up yesterday, he's making great progress. He pushed himself with his feet in his wheelchair and was able to stand briefly with a walker. Oh, my God. That's pretty amazing. Wow. Rob gave me the wrong number. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. We got to come up with a new jingle. New song. Well, he had two of the numbers reversed. That can't be true. So everybody that's trying to join the P1 text army. How does this always happen to us? I don't know. It's always us. Does anyone have a DeLorean? I mean, how do you mess that up? No, no, don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. No, no, no. Don't do that. Not even I would do that. It was a mistake. Don't do that. No, no, no. I'm going to go home. No, no. I'll go home and sit in the corner. Come on, guys. I love you. Stop it. I love you. It's okay. Don't make mistakes. I'm an idiot.
Listen, he feels really bad. He feels really bad. I want to go to the top of the building and jump off. Stop it. We're going to get it right here. Come on. We can fix it. The Red Sox suck right now. Don't go there. We're in a war with Iraq. Hang on. I mean, what else could go wrong? What? That's the other thing that he was able to think of. Yeah. The earth, the ice caps, the melting. Let me give you. Global warming. Like, ah, my life. Oh, my God. First global warming, now this. Yes. What else can go? Wrong. All right, guys. Listen, listen, listen to me. That is so bad. Listen to me. I'm very, very sorry that we had the two numbers. No, I'm sorry. Listen, here we go, though. I messed up. Here comes the right one. Here we go, yo. Take two. I tried it. It works. I tried it. It works. Nice. Here's the number to text. Woo! 35253. 35253. 35253. Wait. Come on, Ash. Do it with me. Ashley is defiantly just staring at me. Furious. That does not flow. It does. It does. It does not. You just got to do it. You got to do it. There's nothing wrong with that. Is she going to be like this? No, Rob. Don't even listen. Is she going to be like this? I am not.
I'm not saying Jack. You're thinking it loud enough. I'm getting a blast right now. What does it say? What the hell am I saying right now? We would be sending a blast right now going, listen to this. What the hell am I saying? I bit my lip. I even said crap, dude. Oh, I know what you're thinking. So come at me. I know what you're thinking. Come at me for no reason. I'm not coming at you. I got to turn them off. This is the way it's been with them. What's the number? The number is 35253. So 353. Yes. 35253. Yes. Maybe add a three. Up in flexion. Three, five, two, five, three. Oh, I love it. Yeah, it works even better. Wow. Ashley, yes, go ahead. Three, five, three. I was going to say, I think we should come up with a new jingle that will make it flow better. Okay, go ahead. We're going to confuse people even more. No, yeah, yeah, no, no, yeah. Don't give another one. We're going to confuse people even more. We got to just have people know exactly what our number is. What is it again? Three, five, two, five, three. Three, five, two, five, three. Love it. I love it. Text the word Mikey to 35253.
And you'll get a text immediately back. It's the best show ever. Oh, man. I mean, I didn't even say anything. Did I? Did I? You started to. You started to until Mikey shut you down. I beg you. I beg you guys. You started to. No, please. I'm done. I'm done. I feel horrible. 3-5-2-5-3. 3-5-2-5-3. Ashley, sing it. I don't want any more. Hey, man. No. This is great. 3-5-2-5-3. You know, it's so funny because Eddie's right. Like, this would be something we would be texting to people right now to let them know about. Ugh, how stupid we are. Okay, I got it. Don't give another jingle because it'll screw people up. But it's the thing that will make people remember. Go ahead. What?
I just... I'm nervous. What is she going to do, Eddie? I don't know. I forgot it already. See, this is... Oh, my God. The number. I forgot the number already. Three, five. Two, five, three. See, I'm thrown off. So the way that you can remember it, three, five, high five, two, five, three. So people remember the fives. Peggy, don't do. You asked her not to do that. It's confusing. No, I'm confused. Three, five, high five, two, five, three. Because then people will remember the fives. People are going to think there's an extra five. Five. Three, five, two, five, three, high five. Oh, wait. There's no. No, there's no extra five. Don't put any numbers. Don't put any numbers. It's already F. Five. You asked her not to. Five. Three, five, two, five, three. Three, five, two, five, three. This is not the way I wanted this to go, by the way. What? This isn't what you envisioned? Tell you something. I was so happy about this. You were. A year and four months. I know. You've been working on this for a long time. All those stupid meetings upstairs. All those stupid meetings. Begging them. Like, this is so great. This is all I want. 3-5-2-5-3. 3-5. Okay, what if you, like, rhyme it with something? Oh, gosh. Just, please. 3-5-2-5-3. Please don't. Big Rob's a mini-mini.
How about mini me? That would have worked. That would have been great. Perfect. There it is. B-Rob's a mini me. 3-5-2-5-3. B-Rob's a mini me. 3-5-2-5-3. So you text the word Mikey to 3-5-2-5-3. You'll get this thing back that I wrote. Because she asked me, what do you want it to say when people first sign up? Cool. Because for the first time, when you sign up with any of these things for the first time, you have to, you get a text and then you have to write them back and say, yep, I'm in. So the first text I wanted people to do, to get from me was, thanks for joining Mikey's P1 Text Army. This thing is going to be rad. You guys are going to love it. All meat, no fluff. Text stop to opt out. So if you don't want it, all you got to do is do stop. Standard carrier rates apply. Okay, so when I did it for the very first time on my cell phone, I got that message back. Then I get another message a couple minutes later and I wrote it. It says, want to join Mikey's P1 text army? Reply with the word Mikey2 to join. All that is is making sure that you have agreed. Confirming. Confirming you've agreed. Because we don't want anybody like, I didn't do that. Blah, blah, blah. So if you want in, reply Mikey now. All meat, no fluff. Standard rights apply. So you just text Mikey back. That's all you got to do.
Cool. Let's write the word Mikey back again. 3-5-2-5-3. 3-5-2-5-3. 3-5-2-5-3. So now I'm replying, Mikey. And now I'm all set up. Now, every time we send something out, we'll get it. All right, I just got the text back. It says, thanks for joining Mikey's P1 Text Army. This thing's going to be great. And it's the same thing. It explains to people how they can opt out of it. And I think we should probably send out something. Zach, can you send something out? Can you send out to the entire P1 Army and everybody that signed up for this, I'm sorry about B-Rob. I need to send out to everybody that's joined, I'm sorry about B-Rob. How's he going to shake this off? I don't know. He's really upset. Yeah, I feel bad for him.
Well, I had a mini meltdown during the commercial break. I'm writing everybody on my email. I'm writing every Shauna, everybody that came out. I'm like, what's going on? You got to be kidding me. A year and four months. And in the middle of it, I've clicked send. And I'm flipping out. And in the middle of it, Rob walks in. He goes, I think I got two of the numbers mixed up. Which immediately my brain goes, please, Lord, tell me that's not true. That can't be true. I would say a little prayer for him. Rob, please don't let this be. And then it turned out that it was. But at the time, I'm too consumed with fixing it. I'm not consumed at that. I'm not worried about dealing with Rob. I'm just, how do we get back on the air and tell listeners, hey, sorry, I mixed two of the numbers up. And in the middle of it, he's like, I just sent you the email from the girl. And I heard that, but I was like, I don't care. Want an email? Oh, man. Give me the right number. I had, like, boy blunder flashbacks. I was like, no. The boy blunder sweat flops. I was like, no, please don't let this happen. What were the sweat flops? Oh, man, when he would.
But he would screw up and it would always be something major. Right. Like, I just would start to sweat and just go, oh, dude, no. Like, why? You know, we'd get phone calls. Oh, the F-word was on the air 15 times. Because he forgot to bleep it out. Three times. Please, no. So he says it to me again. I'm in the middle of trying to figure it out, getting the right number written down. And he says to me again, dude, dude, check your email. I just sent you. And I go, I don't want an email from her. I don't even know who her is. Just give me the right number. Which is what? 35253. Hey, all right. If you got a cell phone, P1s, and if you're not a P1 yet and you like the Mikey show, you're trying it out and you want to know when cool stuff is happening. Just text the word Mikey to 35253 and you're in.

Block 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. It's a tough ride this morning. Give yourself some extra time. You're going to need it. We've got the rain coming down all around the county this morning, and that is really messing up traffic just about everywhere. You've got heavy rides, plus accidents. Too many to mention. Basically, you're on the brakes here. North Eagle 5 out of the South Bay from before Telegraph Canyon Road. Probably about Orange Avenue right now, and that extends all the way to North Park. Backs up again, coming out of Mission Valley all the way up to Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. Same situation on the 5 Freeway. That is messed up big time out of Chula Vista for a slow ride all the way to downtown. On the West 94, solid slow traffic from the 125 into downtown. The Westbound 8 backed up as well here. Pretty much in the Cajon Valley from Lake Jennings Park Road to Greenfield. And then slows coming out of the valley over the Grossmont Summit. Pretty much through La Mesa all the way into Hotel Circle. I'm serious. This is messed up stuff this morning. It's amazing. We can't drive in the rain. Southpond to the 15. Slow and go out of Escondido. Solid into Poway. The coaster ride. Southpond 5. Brake lights heavy out of Carlsbad down to the racetrack in Del Mar. Don McLaurence on Rock 105.3. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. Key Morning Show.
K-I-O-Z, San Diego's rock. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I am extraordinarily sensitive to Pete. Eddie. I'm a married man. Sky. Thank you. Sky. There's girl in the air. Sean. I routinely forget to zip up my fly. Boston Rob. I'm a go-getter. And Ashley. I don't watch the news. Oh, no, wait. That's fine. You're ruining it. Gorgeous. You're ruining it. I've been awake for a while now. I've been feeling like a child now. I'm gonna see a bubbly face. I get the tingles in. Silly place. Yes, I love it. My nose. This is one of my favorite new songs. George Takai. George Takai singing this? Of course. Well, he loves karaoke. That's true. I love to participate in Asian karaoke.
Yes. It's just where we get together and we sing karaoke Asian style. Well, you are Japanese. Right. That's right. So it's more on the Japanese tip. Let's not start talking about that. Every ghost starts in my nose to the tip of my toe. All right. We're not doing karaoke right now. Welcome back. It's 719. Lindsay Lohan's being called a homewrecker for the second time in the last few months. This time, she's accused of stealing a woman's fiancée. Chargers got a new wide receiver. They send a second-round pick to Miami for Chris Chambers. I love to perform anything by Sabbath. It doesn't matter who this is. I wouldn't picture you. Fairies wear boots. That's not a song. I was just saying that. Is that why you have boots on? Yes. Okay, no scatting. Wait. Yes, well. Okay, no, no, no. That's what it's called. That's what it's called. Wrong show. Seven years ago. Anyway, back to Colby. I'm actually wearing Ashley's Ugg boots, right?
They look really nice. How did you get a hold of those? I ripped them right off her dirty little feet. Oh, gross. You don't need to lash out at me. I'm not lashing out. Okay, George Takai. I'm just stating the facts. The famous Sulu of Star Trek. Star Trek fame. Why are you saying that? Well, some people may not know who you are, George Takai. George Takai. He is a gay man. Sulu of. Star Trek fame. As a fellow gay man, that's me. That was you. That was you. Very nice. Hey, Mikey. You guys need to cut Sean some slack about his wearing women's deodorant. Thank you. I was on vacation one time, and all I had was some deodorant from my wife. I tried it. I loved it. It's not weird or gay. It's a personal preference. Cordially.
Senator Larry Craig. No, no. No, no. That's not cool. Throw that one away. Mikey, I don't think it's weird at all that Sean wears women's deodorant. I've been doing it for years. I actually prefer it. Smells nice. Sean, you're not weird at all. Regards, Buffalo Bill from The Silence of the Lambs. That's a good one. Shut up, Skye. Well, I'm just saying he may want to actually hold on to that one. He may want to hold on to that one. Shut your mouth. Throw it away. Is that teen spirit my secret you have in? The vanilla. He likes the vanilla Buffalo Bill. What skin do you put him on? Now I feel better. All better. I feel better now. Text the word Mikey to 35253. Yes, 35253. Thank you, George. And you will be asked to text the word back again. You're in. We can send you a blast. We've already sent one out, right? Yeah. Seth and Rob are going to be the guys in charge. Oh, no. It's worked out well so far. 53.
Makes you a little nervous, doesn't it? Oh, man. A little flop sweat? Like Chernobyl. Did you say me? I turn into Chernobyl? No, no. The whole situation. I do turn into Chernobyl, man. The situation is Chernobyl, but I turn into Chernobyl. There's only a couple of things during the course of a year where I'll actually... You know, where the nuclear reactor goes all the way down to China and the China syndrome occurs? It's only a few times. And we were pretty close to it there. For sure. For sure. 5701053 is our phone number. Katie Darrow from TMZ TV is going to be calling in in a couple of minutes. And she used to be our news girl when we were in Dallas. And now look at her. She's made it all the way to the big time. So we're going to talk to her about what's going on in Hollywood.
That'll be in a couple minutes. I want to really get into this Larry Craig stuff. You guys saw it last night on Dateline, right? All of you guys saw it. So talk to me. Eddie, what was your overall impression? My overall impression is Larry Craig. First of all, I was not really aware of how much gay accusations were. put upon this guy in the past. Oh, really? He has been accused of being gay since the 80s. I thought that he's been accusing gays and like, I don't like gays. Both. Really? Yeah. Wow. So he's like a big advocate. There was a big scandal, I guess, during the early 80s in Congress. 1982. That would be the early 80s. about the congressional pages claiming that a lot of these congressmen were either they slept with them or had like... Like Foley? Yeah. Like that kind of stuff. Exactly. What is up with young...
male gay pages doing stuff with it like come on man to me i think it's the old dirty senators trying to get into young male yeah pants by offering them things like you know if you do this for me i'll you know you can work on my campaign or i'll remember you in the future and i but it was really weird in regards to that because i guess at least if i understood last it last night correctly um that basically these accusations were made, but no names were mentioned. It was just senators. Like, no names were ever mentioned. And Larry Craig was the only one who issued a response to the media in regards, even though no names were ever mentioned. Which made everybody go, hmm, you're the only one that's speaking about this? He's a fake. Wow. So Lauer brought that up, huh? Yeah. And again, he's been accused. a few times yeah of being homosexual so i that to me was really damning and then the other uh thing that i took away from it is what a slime ball politician larry craig is like he had that very politician speak yeah very smooth talker yeah you know like oh matt you know come on yeah matt if that were true come on matt
It was really like, I mean, it was a bad idea for him to do this interview. Well, see, here's the deal, man. It's like, hey, listen, the world knows that you're into gay stuff. There's nobody except for your family, which I don't blame them. They're your family, man. They're going to back you up. And even them, I'm sure they probably like maybe get it, but they're going to support him. It's their dad and their husband and whatever. Okay. I'd support my dad. Those kids aren't his. They're adopted. Really? Really? From his wife's first marriage. Stepkids. Another accusation. They accused it of being like a setup. A marriage of convenience. Of convenience, yeah. You've got to be kidding me. Well, it's funny because the way that question went down when talking about their marriage, Matt Lauer goes to the wife, well, you know, I'm sure you've heard the rumors. And she goes, yeah. And Matt goes, well, why don't you tell me what the rumors are? And she goes, that it's a marriage of convenience. Well, you know, it's in the closet type of stuff. Yeah.
They had an excuse for everything. Matt Lauer came at him. Cut for. Were you aware at all, Senator, of the reputation of that specific bathroom? Well, I certainly am now. According to the airport police and according to some gay blogs, and here go to those blogs again that I know you love so much, this particular bathroom in North Star Crossing is described as a hotspot for anonymous sexual encounters. between gay men and you had no idea of that no i did not know that i had no reason to know that well then senator i'm glad you said that because go ahead and and bring john and we have john so-and-so he's the uh world's foremost uh polygraph uh examinator you wouldn't mind submitting to a polygraph test right now about all of this right make me so happy ay yi yi it's just crazy man this is uh more about the bathroom cut five had anything strange ever happened to you in that bathroom that you can remember over the years had anyone ever gestured to you solicited you in any way that you would describe come on to you in that bathroom well as i said i asked him that question too what was the answer matt i use bathrooms for bathroom sakes
But so do I. But if I were in a bathroom and someone winked at me or something like that or slipped me a note, I'd remember it. Had anything like that ever happened to you? Never happened, to my knowledge, ever. To your knowledge? To your knowledge. That's a strange... I thought that as soon as I heard that. What do you mean to your knowledge? You can't remember? Well, it's not even... Your knowledge is either you remember getting gay solicitation or you don't. And, like, if somebody pointed out a, like, video of it, then you'd be like, oh, that's why I said to my knowledge, because I wasn't sure. Maybe there was one time I forgot. You don't forget it, bro. That's a story you're telling on your deathbed. Yeah. About the time some dude came on to you in a bathroom. Guess who's on the phone? Katie Daryl. Hi. How are you, Katie? Yes, the one and only. Long time no talk. I know. I miss you, boys. What's happening? Katie Daryl has really come a long way, man. She was on our show when we were in Dallas, and she's on television now on a couple of things. You're on the HD Network, right? Yeah, yeah. I've got two shows on HDNet, one on Friday night called Deadline and one on Sunday called True Music. And the True Music is a lot of new bands and stuff like that, and it's a real good music show. Exactly, exactly. And Deadline's a fun, like...
I get to go do things off the beaten path. Like, I got to go to an exotic art show where everyone was nude. I got to learn how to surf. I went down to Cabo for a booze cruise. Neat stuff like that. How did you get the TMZ thing? Well, I slept my way to the top. Nice. Way to go. Way to do it. It was horrible when I had to do it with Mikey and Eddie, though. Let me just tell you. It worked, though. It worked, though. It wasn't bad for me. It worked. No, no. How it actually happened is one of the producers over at TMZ had actually seen some of my work on HDNet, and it had the same crazy, sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek attitude as TMZ has, and it was kind of like a perfect fit. So we were at a Fourth of July party and chatting it up, and I came in for an interview, and here I am talking to you little people. Yeah, I love it. I love it.
It's awesome. Being totally in the mix of the celebrity gossip is pretty interesting. Sometimes you feel a little dirty, but most of the time you are totally satisfied because it's an addiction that we all have. That's true. It's true. So what is the deal? Do they send you out into the field where you're up close and personal with these stars? Oh, God, no. I don't have to go in the trenches. No, no, no. My job is actually totally more enjoyable because I get to see more. I mean, if I got sent out there, I'd only get to kind of see one or two celebrities going by because that was the station that I was at that night, let's say, if I was at Club Hyde. What's great is that I get to see all the video that came in at night. So I get to look through and see what happened last night, what was going down, all the photos that have come in. I get to join the morning meeting and hear what everyone's pitching and their story ideas. And then I get assigned about three stories and I start writing them for the TV show and sometimes for the web. And then, you know, I go in and I voice over everything and go work with my editor. And then we feed out the show and we make fixes. And then we start working on the story for the next day. It's pretty cool because I just get to see so much raw footage that, you know, I mean, we try and put everything up on the TMZ.com website.
We try and put up as much as we can on the TV show. But still, there's so much footage that no one gets to see that I kind of, you know, get to throw my headphones and sit at my desk and laugh at, you know, this stuff that no one's ever seen of Britney. And now when you're doing that, so it's not a situation where it's a whole bunch of you guys watching stuff for the first time. You just go to your desk, put on the headphones and watch it kind of privately because I was saying like. If it was a group situation, I would picture you guys just kind of looking at each other like, whoa, what a trip. But you're sitting there at your computer checking it out by yourself. Yes, it's a solo thing. So when you get some naughty video, you get to enjoy it privately. There you go. And so what is going on for tonight? Do you know already? Yeah, I actually just got out of the meeting, so I made sure I scribbled down some pretty informative notes so this way I can give you guys a little heads up. One story that we have been following, and I'm not sure if you guys caught it yesterday. You know, Ellen DeGeneres adopted this dog, got taken away from her, blah, blah, blah. We've got an update on that, some more information. The fact that, you know, this dog company or whoever, adoption agency, makes people fill out paperwork and they go and they look at the house. Well, it turns out they never even did that with Ellen. So they're trying to turn this into like this big like.
war between the classes, but they were the first ones to kind of start the special treatment for Ellen to begin with. Now, for those of you that don't know the story, the story is Ellen adopted a dog and she found bringing the dog home that the dog didn't get along with her cats. So she tried to give the dog to her hairdresser. When this company that gave her the dog found out about it, they said, oh, you can't do that. We only give dogs to people we say we're giving dogs to. So they went and took the dog away. Right, but you know how they got the information on where the dog was at? That family went through the proper paperwork and applied to adopt the dog. And so they saw the address and they went over there and they said we have to do a home inspection and took the dog. So, I mean, this is really dirty work going on over there. What do you think it's about? Why do you think it all went down like this? I think it's one of those things. It's like a roller coaster. It's gotten out of hand. It's being blown out of proportion. I think the lady that gave the dog to Ellen originally maybe was hoping to use it for her nonprofit, put it on her website, that they've given dogs to celebrities like Ellen. And when she found out about that, she got pissed. And I think it was an emotional decision by the lady that has now gotten out of hand. And now they're kind of like, well, we're not backing down. And it's becoming a...
Sandbox fight. Everyone's throwing sand. Our old friend Katie Daryl is on the line. She's on TMZ. And let me play you a real short clip of Ellen yesterday. Cut three. Those people went and took that dog out of their home and took it away from those kids. And I feel totally responsible for it. I'm so sorry. And I'm begging them to give that dog back to that family. I just want the family to have the dog. It's not their fault. It's my fault. I shouldn't have given the dog away. Just please bring the dog back to those little girls. There's a lot of... Now, I don't know if you remember this, Katie. That's what makes me really uncomfortable. Katie, I don't know if you remember this about Eddie, but people crying makes him laugh. Yep. And so he's just... I can't help it. Derek Lee laughing whenever he hears that clip of Ellen. What else is going on? All right. We've got some exclusive, I mean, exclusive, exclusive footage of Angelina Jolie falling yesterday on set.
Wow. That's funny, too. Yeah, I guess they closed down the street. It was on a public street, but they closed it down, and so all the photos were kicked out, except for our guy, a lady on the street who owned a house, said, hey, you could come in and shoot from my living room window. So he went in there and got some footage, and Angelina Jolie, I guess, tripped on the curb, and we are the only ones with the footage. Wow. That's great. We also have this stuff of Ben Kingsley, you know. Sir Ben Kingsley. Right, right. Saying that his mantra is the Gimme More song by Britney and he starts singing it. Come on. Dude, I am not that creative to make this up. Oh my. That's awesome. Gandhi? Do you guys play Who'd You Rather? We have this little game on the website and on the TV show where we tell you two celebrities. I love that. And we vote on Who'd You Rather. Yeah, I go on the website and vote every day. That's like so cool. That's awesome. That's kind of like my little baby. I usually take care of it if it's boys. And if it's girls, my coworker, Michael, takes care of it. For some reason, me talking about chicks and who you'd rather is too lesbian. Oh, hello.
Yeah, right? That's not hot. Anyway, so who would be tweening today? It's amazing. It's who'd you rather, Mikey or Eddie? No, I'm not. Yes. Finally. It's Wyclef, John, and Eminem. So, you guys. I vote neither. Can you vote neither? Ashley, who do you vote? Eminem. Are you kidding me? Yeah, I don't like black people. Yeah, you're racist. I have the biggest crush on Eminem. Do we even have to ask? Yeah, I already voted for Wyclef. Eight times? I mean, did you have to do it eight times? But Eminem's currently winning. She's got carpal tunnel now. Yeah, I was surprised. Eminem is ahead with 70% of votes. And, I mean, I went Wyclef right away. And I did another call in this morning out to, like, Connecticut or somewhere. And they all wanted Wyclef. And I'm like, well, I don't understand who's voting for Eminem. He's sexy. Yeah, Ashley's a bit racist. Have you seen him in concert? We forgot to tell you. Seen him in concert? Well... I feel like, you guys, I might be getting old. Like, the dirty alley sex isn't as hot to me anymore. I'm with you, girl. How weird. I know. You've really changed. You're all growns up. Yeah, you've really grown up. You've really grown up. Well, awesome. I love it. And I love getting the stuff as it's coming right off the press. It is hot off the wire. What do you know about Britney? Anything?
Oh, well, we have some exclusive footage today of her going to Starbucks again. Okay. Why would somebody that is so upset about the paparazzi go to a Starbucks? Why would she do that? I think she's addicted to both Starbucks and the paparazzi. Do you know what she orders? She usually gets like one of those frothy drinks, like a frappuccino. Really? Yeah. I don't know why. I find that interesting. I really do, and I don't know why. In fact, we had a clip the other day of what Lindsay Lohan used to get in Utah at the Starbucks when she would go out. And it didn't say what her drink was. But I remember, like, wanting to know. I don't know why I want to know. I just do. You know, that's totally normal because she always goes to the gas stations. And I actually asked one of the camera guys. I was like, next time you go out. can you turn the camera on the pump and show me how much gas she actually put in? Because is she buying like a gallon of gas? Because how does she run out of gas so quickly? So, I mean, I was intrigued by that. So, yeah, it's just kind of like, you know, I mean, is it that good that you maybe will order it next time? They should call it the Britney special. I'm going to look into that for you. How often do we get to see you on camera, Katie? You usually get to see me about three times a week. You'll see me in the morning meeting sometimes. Like this morning I didn't really participate because I was dreaming about you guys.
But I'll usually pitch a story about three or four times a week in the morning meeting, and then you'll see me, depending on if it's boys who do rather or girls who do rather, you'll see me introducing that segment, which is right before the final commercial break. There you go. All right, Katie, it was great to talk to you again. Great talking to you guys, and maybe we can do it again next week, huh? You got it. You got it. All right. Rock on, guys. Thank you, Katie. Bye. That's Katie Daryl. You can see her on TMZ TV, and you can also see her on the HDNet doing music shows and whatnot. On the way, we finish Larry Craig and the scandalous stuff with Larry Craig. And trust me, there's a lot of it. As I'm looking at it right now, this is what we have from Senator Larry Craig. And you guys saw it, so you'll know how juicy it is. By the way, this is Johnny Cash singing some Soundgarden. We're going to hear them ask the question about why were you tapping your foot? What was the tapping the foot all about? Tell me about picking up the toilet paper in the stall. That was great. Is that good? Yeah. That's a good one. We'll play it next. I'm going to break. All right, class. Based on today's economy, why is buying a certified pre-owned Honda from Pacific Honda a smart financial decision? Kate? Well.

The first time it goes through the filter, many of the impurities are removed. Any elements that may leave a bitter or harsh taste. Then it gets filtered again, and it starts to get smoother. Idaho Senator Larry Craig told Matt Lauer that he was a victim of profiling when he was busted for trying to solicit gay sex. Red Sox are now down three games to one to Cleveland as the Indians won game four, seven to three. Let's hear him do that. Cut eight. Again, the fact that these motions seem to replicate a well-established sequence of signals for soliciting anonymous sex, it's a coincidence.
I now know that this cop is, this officer, is a profiler. He said looking into a stall was one of it. And then a hand gesture or a foot tap is another one. Now I know all about profiling. I know what people feel like when they're profiled. When innocent people get caught up in what I was caught in as an innocent person, it's very angering at times. You know what really blows about this is innocent people. That's what blows. You mean people who don't plead guilty? Yeah. I'm talking about people that are actually innocent people. Because this gives it such a bad name. Oh, man. It just, I just, I wish that he would come clean. I think people would forgive him. Well, I know people would forgive him. We've seen it a million times. Yeah. When people come clean, they go, look, I messed up.
I'm really sorry. I've embarrassed a lot of people. You know, you guys don't probably barely even remember Ty Pennington getting a DUI. Ty Pennington, the star of ABC's Extreme Home Makeover. Very high-profile show. Very do-gooder show. Guy got busted for a DUI. The first thing he said was, I'm so sorry about this. You know, I'm guilty of this. I shouldn't have done it. I made a bad choice, bad judgment, bad decision. I'm really sorry. I'm going to do whatever I can to make this better. And it was a news story for like 30 seconds. You got that right. Where it becomes an issue is when people deny it and no, no, no, it's not true. No, no. When it's so clearly true. And I mean, what's so bizarre about this one is that. You've heard me say a million times that in life as a human being, you either get it or you don't. There's very, I think, rare circumstances and occasions where somebody kind of gets it. You know, you either get it or you don't. And it's so clear that Larry Craig doesn't get it because he doesn't realize that no one's buying it.
He still thinks, and maybe it's because of the people that are so close to him. Maybe he's convinced himself, oh yeah, people actually, I'm really selling that I didn't do gay stuff. There are people out there that are going to hear me explain this and think to themselves, oh, maybe he was a victim of profiling. I mean, come on, bro. Cut six. You don't remember at any time tapping your foot? I do not. In this way? I do not. In the interrogation tape, you do talk about, is it possible your feet brushed? Yes. And you said, yes, it is possible. It is possible, but I don't recall that. And he kept leading me into this, and I kept saying, no, it's clearly on the tape, Matt. You know that there have to be thousands of people who have heard this story now, Senator, who are trying to picture how they, you know. They're flashing back to every time they've ever sat in a bathroom stall. Oh, I'm sure they are. And they're trying to think, can that happen? How close are you actually to the guy next to you? And this is that infamous wide stance, which I think what you actually said is, I'm a wide guy, is the actual quote you said. And they're thinking, it's not that easy. Pause. Trust me, I'm a wide guy. Okay, dude.
Manute Bull has never touched anybody's foot in a stall. Andre the Giant never touched another guy's foot. And I don't even think that this is a case of like you have to be a guy. I don't think you do. I think every woman listening is like, yeah, we get our boys, our guy is big. But it's not like you don't sit on the toilet and spread your legs as wide open as you can. You don't. In fact. Unless you're Sean and you completely remove your pants. Which I do. Which he does in the stall. He removes his pants. But most of us guys, we only sit down to do one thing. And we don't take our pants off. So we can't spread our legs wide. They're being held by pant cuffs. Well, and that's the weird part of his argument. Because part of his wide stance argument is because he doesn't want his pants to touch the ground. So he has his legs spread wide. to prevent the pants from going all the way down to his ankles. But to touch feet, like you said, you would have to rip the crotch of your pants to be able to touch feet. It's like you're in a little pair of handcuffs. Yeah. And the handcuffs are your pants. Leg cuffs. You're in leg cuffs. But you can't spread them wide. No. Come on, Senator. This is not right. Yeah. This is not right. Cut nine.
Let me just come right out and say, did anybody sit you down, Senator Suzanne or your children, and say, Dad, honey, are you gay? Yes. My kids ask tough questions. We've always had family meetings when there was a family crisis. And we've had a few. Yeah, we're pretty frank and honest with each other. And these kids have known me an awfully long while. And they looked their dad in the eye and asked the tough questions. And you asked that specific question? And you were comfortable with the answer? I did a lot of soul searching along that when I had this information and asked myself if I'd missed something somewhere. And I have to tell you that, I mean, we all can be naive and we all can live in our own world. And I thought, am I just out there somewhere being naive? And I honestly believe my husband has always been faithful to me in every way. Here's the deal. I said this to Sky off the air yesterday in regards to her. Uh, as a woman, I believe that she had to, she had a couple of ways she could go with this. She could say, all right, gay guy, husband in bathrooms doing stuff with dudes. I'm out. Yeah. You know, sorry, but gay stuff in a men's bathroom at an airport in Minnesota is out of my comfort level. It's also a deal breaker and I'm out of the marriage and see you later. Okay. The.
The alternative is, no, I'm going to stick by him and I'm going to say that no matter what, I'm okay with everything. See, if she chose the first one where she said, I'm out of here, it turns her life upside down as it does any man or woman that goes through a divorce, but particularly in a high profile, sort of embarrassing one. And Sky, I can't remember what you said. I actually have a third option for you. Well, let me get into it. I want to hear it. I want to hear it. But what did you say, Sky, when I? When I said maybe this was too high profile and too embarrassing for her. Well, I was just like saying basically my point is like everybody is looking at her like, you know, you're a fool. We all know what's going on here. You're a dummy. You're setting a horrible example for your family. What are you doing? And but I think that there's a stigma attached to it. Oh, you're that lady. You're the gay guy in the bathrooms in the airport in Minnesota's wife.
And then I kind of compared it to like the Hillary deal and Hillary didn't leave Clinton. And I think that it would have been tough for her to leave him and go out into the world and be the wife of the guy that did the thing and the cigar and the bathroom and the whole thing. Eddie, what is your third deal? Well, this is what I believe it is now. And it is a marriage of convenience. It's a marriage that they got married and she basically had these three kids and wanted to set them up with a good life. She knows he's gay. Really? So you believe she knows he's gay? Yeah. We got more. We'll get into it. Joe Rogan on the phone. Oh. Oh, I would love to hear Joe's take on the Minnesota bathroom, Senator. I've thought about this long and hard. Oh, no. Love it. Is any of this stuff in your stand-up?
Not necessarily. I mean, the fact that, I mean, I don't think there's a single Republican out there that's not gay now. Well, Joe is going to be performing at 4th and B, November 2nd. I've been a big fan of Joe Rogan's for many, many years. I always tell the story of... my now wife, but at the time we were dating and we were driving across the state of Texas listening to the satellite radio channel that had stand-up comedians on it. And I was laughing so hard at Joe's stuff, like tears were shooting out of my eyeballs. Oh, well, thank you, man. And you're a stand-up dude. I mean, you're a good, you're a great commentator, you're great on Fear Factor, but that stand-up, bro, is some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard in my life. Well, thank you very much, man. That's really what I do, although most people don't know that. I'd say it's probably like 80% of the people don't even know I'm a comedian at all. I've just done a lot of weird things, you know? You're going to be at 4th and B, November 2nd. Hell yeah, I can't wait to get down back in San Diego again. Hey, dude, that's a big room, dude. 4th and B for a comedian is a big room, man.
I actually don't like big rooms. I mean, I like them. They're a lot of fun. But I prefer intimate environments. I prefer like two, I think to do stand-up comedy, the best case scenario is like 200 people. Anytime you get above that or, you know, it just gets a little wacky. Anybody that knows you knows that you're not the type of person to mix it up with either physically or verbally. Do you still get hecklers with people knowing you at this point? Yeah. Yeah, people get drunk, you know. With alcohol, you're always going to get hecklers. And I get more good-natured hecklers than anything. You know, a lot of it is just people just having fun, and you know what happens. They get a couple pops in them, and they just, yeah. I'm drunk. You know, just that inner howl comes out. Without giving away particular jokes or whatever, what kind of stuff are you touching on in your stand-up? You know what? It's always... it's always here's the world through my eyes. I mean, it's as ridiculous as this world is, there's always something to talk about. It's life as I see it, you know, my perceptions on everything around me, from, you know, teachers getting in trouble for having sex with their students to bathroom, you know, liaisons with senators and all of it, everything. Just life, everything. Joe, let's talk some UFC.
Let's do that. Let's do a little UFC. Now, this is really cool. We went to, like, almost the entire show. Went to Anaheim a few weeks back and were there for that event. And it was, first of all, the main event, I was pretty shocked that Chuck Liddell didn't go out and sort of dominate that fight. What were your thoughts? Well, it was a pretty shocking fight, but you know what? Two things. One, Keith Jardine is a very unorthodox, difficult dude to deal with. He's got a real weird style, and he's tough as nails. And the other thing is, Chuck thought very, you know, he was very convinced that he was just going to go out and blow that guy away. And when you go into a fight with that kind of an attitude, sometimes it's hard to change gears mid-stride. He didn't take that guy as a dangerous threat. When you don't take a guy as a dangerous threat, your adrenaline doesn't amp up the way it should. Your mind isn't getting geared. If you're not scared, if you're not going out there a little scared and a little nervous, a lot of times you won't perform up to your abilities. I think that's what we saw with Chuck. He was very frustrated with himself when it was over. We're talking to Joe Rogan. For people that have never been to a UFC event, it's kind of hard to describe it in words.
feeling and the atmosphere is it'll make the hair on your arms stand up. It's crazy. It is a crazy electric environment. One of the things that I've had the opportunity to be to a big time boxing match as well. And the vibe to me at UFC is way more electric than going to a boxing match. But one of the things when you walk into an arena. And you see the lights and you see, like, the commentators. There's something very exciting about that. From your standpoint, Joe, you're that guy. You know, we walk in, we see the lights, we see you with a microphone in your hand doing the thing. Is that energizing for you? Is that exciting to you? Yeah, it's very exciting still to this day. I mean, right before the fights start and the lights get low, I always go, woo-hoo, here we go. Right, right. It's just a crazy sport. It's very, very primal. As much as it involves intelligence and strategy and preparation and discipline, when it comes down to it, the actual event, the actual act of two guys engaging each other, throwing their bones at each other and trying to strangle each other in a cage is very primal. And it just speaks to the deepest, darkest part of your DNA. Every chimpanzee in the tree just starts hooting and hollering.
on. I mean, that's really what it is. It's just very satisfying. Hey, Joe. There they are. Hey, Joe, it seems like every event now There's more and more celebrities showing up in the audience at the events. And Juliette Lewis, there's certain names that you always see there. Do you get a chance to, like, rap with them about the sport? Like, have you ever talked to Juliette Lewis about UFC? If I was going to talk to Juliette Lewis, it wouldn't be about anything but Scientology. I'd be like, yeah, Chuck did really good tonight. So tell me about Scientology. Oh, no. Please. Tell me. That's funny. Tell me about the Thetans. Oh, my God. Live in the volcano. Wow. How much money do you give them? Weird. Now, are you gay or are you... Okay. Oh, my God. Wow. Are you crazy? So talk to me about the event this weekend because our boy Brandon Vera, who's a good friend of the show, he lives in San Diego, comes in here. Great guy. He's making his return.
Very difficult fight for him because Tim Sylvia is an awkward guy. You know, Tim Sylvia is huge. He's 6'8", 265 pounds. You know, if they were the same size, I think Brandon would be the prohibitive favorite. But, you know, Tim Sylvia is just physically very, very awkward. And Brandon is a very small heavyweight. Brandon is, you know, very skilled, very intelligent, incredibly hard worker, great Greco-Roman wrestler, made the transition to kickboxing as well. But, you know, physically he's a much smaller man than a lot of the heavyweights. He's just very skillful, so he's able to pull off the heavyweight division. But he knows he's too small for the division. He just says, I'm going to fight as a heavyweight until somebody beats my ass and makes me drop down at 205. But he can make 205 easily. And, in fact, when you look at him, he's physically not much larger than a guy like Rich Franklin who fights at 185. You know, I mean, Brandon walks around at like 214. That's what a lot of the 185-pounders, that's what they walk around at before they make their cut. So Brandon is, in your mind going into this, Brandon is clearly the underdog. You'd be very surprised. I wouldn't say clearly the underdog. You know, as a matter of fact, I'd say if I had a bet, I would have to look long and hard and think about it. Because Brandon Vero is a winner. That guy is the type of guy that figures out a way to win.
tools at his disposal. His wrestling is outstanding, and that's what a lot of people don't realize. A lot of people think about him because he's got a bunch of highlight reel knockouts. Knees with Fabiano Scherner and Justin Eilers, he head kicked him. He's got a lot of great knockouts, and his kickboxing is outstanding, but he's a very, very good wrestler, and that's what most people don't know because he doesn't really use it that much in the fight. Joe, if you had to tell, if you had to say to Brandon before he went, into the octagon, watch out for... Oh, for sure, it's Tim Sylvia's big right hand, always. But you know what? Honestly, Tim Sylvia's right hand hasn't really been the same ever since Frank Mir broke his arm. You know, Frank Mir, it's a very famous fight where Tim Sylvia got caught in an armbar and Frank Mir snapped his arm in half. And it really hasn't been the same since there. He's got screws holding it in place and bolts and... You know, I don't know. I don't know if it really affected his punching power or if it affected his ability to train with it. We have UFC calls coming in. Can we take a couple calls? Let's do it. P1 Brew, you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? Yeah, I just want to ask Joe, what did he think of Houston Alexander? That guy's crazy. That's an interesting little addition. Houston Alexander is the guy that Keith Jardine fought before we fought Chuck Liddell.
And he knocked Keith Jardine out in 48 seconds. I mean, he's an animal. That dude is incredibly explosive. I remember when I first saw him at the weigh-ins, you know, I MC the weigh-ins as well. And when he was weighing in, I was like, Jesus Christ, what the hell has this guy been doing? I mean, he's just got that prison build, you know, like he's just been hanging out in the yard lifting weights all day. He's swole. He's not built like a regular fighter. And I'm like, man, is this guy going to be able to pull this off? But he gives you one minute of fury. And if you can't stand that one minute of fury, you're going to get knocked unconscious. And we don't even know if he's going to stand that one minute of fury. I can't stand the one minute of fury. I'm going to say right now for the record, I cannot stand the one minute of fury. I can't stand the two seconds of fury. I'm serious. P1AK, are you there? Sure am. Go ahead. Hey, Joe, I wanted to get your perspective. A couple questions, really. You know, why has the, you know, with the acquisition of Pride, you know, why haven't the Pride fighters, you know, these guys have been touted coming over to UFC, why haven't they been as successful as anticipated? And second question, real quick, second question, Fedor, what happened with that? Why wasn't he able to sign with the UFC? Well, there's a bunch of, first of all, the Fedor thing, Fedor is controlled by...
Russian gentlemen, let's put it that way. Careful, Joe. Whoa, whoa. And they have from the very beginning, and there's a lot involved in that. It's not as simple as signing Fedor. Like, we offer Fedor $5 million. Somebody offers him $6 million. Okay, we'll offer you $7 million. It's not like that. With Fedor, it's like, you want Fedor? We also have Sergei Karotanov. Sergei Karotanov is also a very good fighter. You take him, you will take Roman Zensov. He is with Red Devil team. He wants to do an undercard. You know, they want to do an independent UFC in Russia. Call it the UFC and produce it themselves. They want a bunch of different things. You know what? I would let them. I would just let them. Whatever you want. Hey, Joe, I don't know. It's not easy, man. You can't set that precedent. You know, it's very difficult negotiating with them. And he wound up, Fedor wound up signing with M1, which is an organization that is owned by his management company. So it's all very tricky. And I'm glad I don't have to negotiate. And I'm glad I don't have to be a part of that. Joe Rogan.
Joe, let me real quickly because we don't have a lot of time left. You're going to be at 4th and B, November 2nd, and you're going to be in studio with us that same day, which is going to be awesome. Hell yeah. UFC 77 is Saturday. I don't know if you remember when you came into the studio. We have a cute blonde that loves the UFC that works here. She's got questions. Go ahead, Ash. Yeah, I just have a couple questions. With the Anderson Silva and Rich Franklin fight, last time when they fought, Rich got his face smashed in. So what are your thoughts? For this one. Well, I think Rich will be very careful to not get his face smashed in this time. I've been thinking about that a lot. But do you think that he's going to actually, like, has a chance this time? Because he got smothered last time. It's a crazy sport. You know, whenever dudes are wearing little tiny gloves and trying to knock each other unconscious, anything can happen. You zig when you should have zagged. You wake up with a flashlight in your face and doctors all around you. You never know what's going to happen in this sport. But if I had a bad... I would bet on Anderson Silva. I think Anderson Silva is like Roy Jones Jr. when he was in his prime. Remember when Roy Jones Jr. was in his prime and nobody wanted to fight him? It wasn't a matter of whether he was going to win. It was how he was going to win. And I think that's kind of where Anderson Silva is at right now. He's just an unbelievable fighter. I mean, his stand-up is just leaps and bounds ahead of anybody else in the game, including Rich Franklin. And he's got a sick ground game on top of it. And he's very confident and very, very athletic and explosive.
and just really relaxed and smart in the ring. So I think Rich Franklin's in a lot of trouble. Joe, is there a fight that you really want to see happen? I would love to see Fedor versus Randy Couture, even if it's not in the UFC. I think that would be a fantastic fight. And I think Randy could beat him. And I would like to see that, you know, for Randy's last fight. You know, the dude's 44 years old. What do you think about this whole Randy walking away from the heavyweight title, I'm quitting him? I don't know, man. Money is a crazy thing. I don't ever want to interfere with a man's business or try to judge how he handles his business. But, you know, that's what he feels. He feels like he's not getting paid enough and he wants to resign and seek employment elsewhere. And I don't even know if he can contractually because I don't know how all that stuff works. You know what? I'm a fan of Randy Couture's. For sure, I would rather have him stay in the UFC. But I'll watch that guy fight wherever he fights. Joe Rogan's going to be at 4th and B, November 2nd. And in studio with us, November 2nd, UFC. It's going to be awesome, man. UFC 77 this Saturday. And Joe, you're always a podcast, bro. We'll talk to you soon. See you. It's Joe Rogan. I'm glad he says that. I'm glad we're on his good side. Not one mention of Carlos Mencia. It's fantastic. Honestly, when you think about it, it's like we've raked it over every coal we can. I just am like, wow, that was great. It was so refreshing. It's like a mint. AJ Smith still to come on the show. He's going to tell us about the new wide receiver. For the San Diego Chargers, Chris Chambers was signed yesterday from Miami. The show continues. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning.

to you by Sleep Train Mattress Center. Are we having fun yet, commuters? Yeah, this is about the, believe it or not, the worst I've seen it since I've been doing traffic, and that's been a few years now. Heavy just up out of the South Bay, both the 5 and 8.5 northbound, back to big time here out of Chula Vista. There's a new accident in the fast lane at North 5 near Coronado Avenue, and that's basically just keeping traffic slow from Imperial Beach, and that extends all the way up to Mount Soledad, believe it or not. Northbound 8.05 struggling. From Orange Avenue and Chula Vista all the way to the Golden Triangle, you've got the westbound at 94, backed up out of Costa de Oro, solid to downtown. Westbound 8 backs up from before Lake Jennings Park Road all the way to Mission Valley. A new crash involving a bad accident south 67 before the 8 freeway has got you quite heavy there as well. South 15, solid brake lights from Escondido off to 78 to Poway. Northbound 15, backing up big time out of City Heights all the way through Murphy Canyon and towards Tierra Santa. Southbound 5, struggling from Carlsbad, solid to the racetrack in Del Mar, and the westbound 56, a slow ride coming off the 15 through Penasquitos, all the way to the 5 freeway. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock, 105.3. Mikey Show, hello. Hi, this is Pete Wanchino. I just wanted to call about AIS. Tell me about what happened with you and AIS. Ashley told me that you were waiting to tell me. I had an SR-22 from a DUI a couple years ago, and my insurance...
Farmers was actually like $450 a month. So I kept hearing you guys talk about them on the radio. So I went down over there and they saved me like $300 a month. I was paying $450. I pay about $145 now. That's incredible. And that's full coverage with SR-22 filing and everything. I had a lot of these military guys call me, tell me this stuff. AIS will hook you up, man. They saved me over $3,500 a year. Yeah, that's fantastic, dude. Well, congratulations. All right, thank you. I'm glad we were able to help you. 1-800-777-4247. Easier way to remember the phone number, 1-800-777-4, the number 4, AIS. They will hook you up and they will save you money. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I'm a little old man. Nice to meet you. Eddie. I always am in the mood for waffles. I am a hypochondriac when it comes to my cats. Sean. I'm really into 70s B actors. Little Miss Boston Rob. I'm not a chick. Well. Yes, you are. And Ashley. It's really hard for me to watch difficult movies. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. This song. Oh, I love it. I can't get it out of my head. Just watch TV. It's on every five seconds. This is that iTunes, sir? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, man. Don't. Now I'm going to be singing it all day.
We're not in the car. It's 830. Well, this is quite an honor. Jennifer Gardner has just been named the new face of influenza. Kobe Bryant is denying reports that he cleaned out his locker. Really? Yeah. Maybe she should like do a little like recreate this video for influenza and like do this kind of. The flu no more. I've never heard this song this far. Yeah, it's cool. I've never heard this far into the song. Yeah, I've heard it all the way through. Very Bjork. Yes. Oh, absolutely. I thought it was that chick, Lily something. Tomlin. Yeah, Lily Tomlin. I was like, is she doing that operator lady again? Is that what this is? It's always funny. Just as annoying. Celestine. That's not her name. No way. No way. Celestine. Really?
I did see some weird stuff when I was a kid. Wow. I did watch. I always watched adult things, you know. Did you remember the movie The Incredible Shrinking Woman? Of course. What? Of course. When she's in the garbage disposal? Yes. Always affected me. Great movie. Great movie. It always affected me. It's a fantastic movie. That must have been very scary. Does anybody remember? It was... Oh, man. Sean, you might remember the name of it. I don't remember the name of it, but it was a love story. With Lily Tomlin and John Travolta. And she was a cougar. Wasn't it The Boy in the Bubble? No. By the way, Boy in the Plastic Bubble, not a movie in theaters. No. Made for TV movie. Boy in the Plastic Bubble. Did not know that. Great movie. I've not seen it. Moment by moment. Moment by moment. Lily Tomlin and her young gigolo.
who she was embarrassed of and wouldn't take around her friends. And she's rich. And he finally has enough of it. And he's like, you know, if you're going to be embarrassed of me, then fine. I bother you. I won't hang around for you to be embarrassed of me. I love you, little Tomlin. Yeah, hey, little Tomlin. Just because I'm a young guy doesn't mean I don't have fumes. I know you're 82, but it's... It's still cool. You're like still hot or something. Let's see. Emails. Hey, Rob, don't worry about making a mistake about the numbers. People, organizations, and even sports teams make mistakes all the time and nothing bad ever comes of it. Signed, Babe Ruth. That's like a double shot. I'll say. I will say. I'll just say. A mini-mini. Mikey, did anyone remind Joe Rogan to make sure he's got protection since Ashley isn't on the pill anymore? What is that? I don't even get it. I don't get it. I don't even get it. I don't get it. Wow. Wow. I don't get it. I don't get it. Give him his death list. Dude, she's going to attack you. You better be careful. And you deserve it. Be careful. Just be careful. That's all I'll say.
Oh, no. Gosh. Way to go, Mike. Where did you get hoo-ha from? Whatever. Good question. Is it true that Matt Lauer asked Larry Craig if he's bisexual? Oh, that was awesome. Very serious. Come on. You may not know about it. Cut 10. You have taken, Senator, several opportunities to say, come out point blank and say, I am not a homosexual. Which raises two questions in my mind. One of them, and you're going to have to forgive me for this. Oh. Are you technically not a homosexual? Is it possible you're bisexual? It's no to both. Yes, a little bisexual. Just in bathrooms. Okay, yes, I'm a little bi. Can you imagine? What did you think he was going to say, Matt? Right. Yeah, I love any time Matt Lauer goes, you're going to have to forgive me for this. And I just always know to strap myself in because it's going to be good. Oh, you know what I want to hear is when he starts to ask him about the picking up of the toilet paper. Oh, that was good. Yeah, good times. Cut seven. Something attracted my attention, and I looked down. It was a guy. And as I looked down, I saw a piece of toilet paper on the floor, and it happened to be under my heel. And I don't know if you've seen it before, but I've seen it. Somebody walk out of a booth with a piece of toilet paper stuck to their foot. I reached down to take it off my shoe or out from under my shoe.
And my hand did go below the divider at that moment in time. Oh, I thought you didn't remember. On the tape, you said you didn't remember. You sound very clear about it now, but when you were being interrogated... He does say on that interrogation tape that he went down to pick up a piece of paper. But that's when the cop starts going, well, how do you pick up the paper with your palm up? I remember listening to it, and he asked him about the hand and the divider, and he says, I don't recall that. And then after being pressed, he says, oh, I was picking up a piece of toilet paper. Well, the weird thing that... didn't really explain it was still strange is the reaching over with your other hand yeah across your body oh yeah to get that piece of paper yeah that still doesn't make sense even in a gay context why that why the other hand yeah yeah you think it would be more maybe the signal i don't know yeah sean sexier why are you asking me i don't know is it supposed to be the left hand sean
Is it a left-hand thing, Sean? Screw you guys! We thought you made money! What do I know about it? Are you so... Cut 11. Do you think it would be something that would be awful? In other words, do you view it as something that would be awful to have to admit that you were gay? I don't agree with the lifestyle. And I've said so by my votes over the years and by my expressions. Have I viewed it as awful? I viewed it as a lifestyle I don't agree with. You wouldn't view it as something that would be a source of great shame if you had to admit it. I'm not sure that I've ever looked at anyone else's sex life as great shame. I thought you did when Clinton... Remember you called him like a naughty, dirty little boy? Yeah, you called him a naughty little boy. Listen, it's in life.
Whenever you see someone freaking out a little too much about homosexuality, it's just, you know, I'm not saying they're gay. I'm just saying that left eyebrow should kind of go, that's all. Because, listen, it's the overreaction to it that's just always interesting to me. Cut 12. Go ahead, Suzanne. And some people think that he pleaded guilty to homosexual activity, when in fact he did not. Is it semantics? On whose part? Meaning if you plead guilty to the charge of disorderly conduct based on what happened in that men's room in some way, are you putting guilty to soliciting gay sex? Yeah, well, Matt, I don't believe so because I didn't do it. And I know here I'm innocent. I have a question. Yeah. Think about it before you answer. Do you think he's had gay experiences in that bathroom before? Think about it.
Eddie? Yes. Sky? Yes. Okay, question number two. How long is it going to take before somebody recognizes, you know, somebody says something? How long is it going to take before some gay guy goes, yep, did it with him? I think that with a lot of these bathroom gay things, it's a very anonymous thing. So it's guys like him that can't say, I got it on with him. Very much so. And I also think that there are, I don't even know how to word it. ways to not even see the person's face oh and i think there's all and it's not specifically in that bathroom but in other bathrooms that's how they do it yeah glory holes in bathrooms yeah yeah there are bathrooms that have glory holes that's that's where they are that's what the deal is i thought that glory hole was a product of like uh i swear i did think this everybody's gonna think i'm making a joke I swear I thought that that was like a deal at bathhouses. I swear, I swear. Well, I'm sure Sky would know more about this than I do. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. But she's the only one out of us that have been. She could speak on it. She's the only one that's been, so I don't know. But I do know that bathrooms specifically that are like glory hole stuff happens. So were they there or were they not there at the bathhouse?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sky, the jacuzzi club that you went to, was there holes in the wall? No. Okay. It was just a private room you ran with a jacuzzi. With a jacuzzi. Did you use the restroom? Did you ever have the occasion to go to the restroom while you were there? I don't recall. No. Here we go. I don't recall. You know what that means? I am not gay. I never have been gay. Palms up. That's the way I roll and he palms up. We got a new catchphrase. Hey, you guys want to hear... Oh, no. Oh, don't cry. It's all right. You guys want to hear what Norv had to say about... Aren't you... I mean, you sound so sad. Are you excited? You got a new game-breaking lead receiver. We got a kid here. We just are so pleased to have him coming in here. Do you need a Kleenex? Excited. I'm excited.
Cut 29. Well, you obviously know that the trade has been made. And Chris is a big play guy. Obviously, I was with him two years. He came out here two years ago with Miami and had a big game against the Chargers. Was very impressive in that game that was an upset. You know, Chris is, it's a bonus. He's been in the system. He knows the plays. He knows the offense. And he's a guy that's going to come in right away, and he's going to be able to help us. Cut 30. AJ is involved in all that stuff, and he came to me and said, hey, this thing might happen. Obviously, I was with Chris for two years, so he wanted to know my feelings about Chris, how he fit and all those things. Our pro people have done a lot of work on it. Obviously, we've seen him firsthand. He's played against the Chargers. And it's just the right thing for this team right now. Well, you got a guy that was in the Pro Bowl in 05. He's good. He's real good.
And I think he's going to help in a lot of ways. Don't you, Eddie? He's much better than what we have right now. I'll tell you that for sure. The only thing that makes me a little nervous is now we don't have a two or a three in the draft next year. Oh, I didn't know we didn't have a three. What was that about? I don't remember. I think when we moved it to Eric Weddle. Oh, really? Yeah. No two, no three. But they're talking about they get those compensatory picks or whatever, and they're talking about we'll probably get a three for Donnie Edwards for losing Donnie Edwards. Norv, how soon is he going to start? Cut 32. We'll get going. I'd love for him to be here tomorrow and get a couple days in. Obviously, we've got some extra time where we can spend some extra time with him alone. Obviously, he's... He was in the Pro Bowl a couple of years ago, so he's a talented, talented player that's going to have an impact for us, and we'll get him playing as much as we can. There you go. Do you guys know when they have a bye week, so do they still practice, or do they get the full week off? No, they practice. They're going to get the weekend off, and then they'll get a day here, a day there. I know for sure they practiced yesterday.
But it would be nice. I mean, I'm sure it's going to be nice for these guys to just, like, relax a little bit. Absolutely. Rest up. 14. And the home plate umpire, Paul Emel, who is wearing a microphone, as this ball is hit deep into left, and the Indians score first again. How does everybody look like that? Come on. I mean, it's the news. We've got to talk about it. There's just a guy that I know that doesn't... Oh, you can say it. Boston Robby's a Red Sox fan. No, but he's very upset these days. Again! Eddie, he's not listening right now anyway, so let me... Oh, no! What did you want to say, Mike? Oh, look, he's so defeated. It's not over yet, buddy. Don't you remember? Don't you remember all four? Come back? Hey, I got a couple of texts. I remember all four. I don't know. You're done already? You're giving up? No, I haven't given up. I am so emotionally invested in this that it's draining. And he comes home trying to his mom? You've got to be strong for your team. This is what they need to do the most. I'm trying to be as strong as I can. It wipes you out when they leave so many guys on base. Oh, we know. We know.
They like to double play. They like to hit it. Yeah, I mean, that's their favorite thing in the postseason, I guess. Tough love it is. Tough love. But then they do this thing to you where it's like back-to-back-to-back home runs. That was cool. That was awesome. We were still down by four, and I don't know. I can root all night long. You thought there was a chance, though, right? Of course. I always think there's a chance. That's what breaks your heart. Yeah, it's a slow breakup with a girl you really love. You know, and I don't want to see this season come to a close. You should get your girlfriend some pitching. Yeah. And just, I don't know, some good ass. Well, you know, the thing that was tough for me was, you know, I did not want to take that thing back, I said. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I was kind of forced into it. You know, he forced me to do it. He wanted me to do it so bad. And I said, I can't do it, Rob, if I do it. Why did you do it in the first place? Oh, here we go. I know. I apologized. I said it was wrong. I shouldn't have done it in the first place. Like, that's... I shouldn't have. And I even see this jersey that I'm wearing. This is my lucky jersey. Yeah. And I put it on special. I haven't watched this thing all season. Hug it out. It's pretty gross. Yeah, you can stay in your studio. It's pretty gross. No.
Sean, you got to see the stains on this thing. Sean just goes, no. I got blood stains on it. Blood stains? And this is where I really get upset. Oh, my God. Cut. 15. Didn't work. In the air to right. Well hit. Threw back at the wall. It is gone. I want to throw up. Six nothing. Wow. I hate the word tribe. I hate that guy that pounds that drum in the back of the stadium. I hate their towels. Don't hate the player. I hate Cleveland. I hate Casey Blake's beard. Oh, I hate so much about them. Hey, listen. You know it'd be worse if this was happening with New York. Wouldn't it? What? If it was the Yankees, it'd be so much worse. Terrible. Today sucks.
So where are we in this thing? Where are we? We play again tomorrow night. Our ace is going on the mound. Eddie was about to answer. I thought I was the sports guy. He doesn't even care. You take it, Rob. You're the special correspondent. The Boston correspondent. They're off today. Maybe that'll screw up suicide hotline numbers. Maybe that'll screw up the tribes. Maybe the day off will screw up the tribes' momentum. I'm praying. One more win that goes back to Boston. Good stuff. And listen, and then if that happens, then all you got to do is face a Rocky. No, I'm just, like, I can't watch, like, these games. It's so, so tough to watch because. Where did you watch? At my girl's house. Oh, there you go. Oh, and she must have to put up with how miserable he is. Sean. Sean. Stop it. Sean. Sean. That's not funny. Sean. Come on, get into it. No.
This is in my dreams. I've been having dreams about this. Where are you going to watch the next game? I don't know. At home, by myself, in the corner. One more game in Cleveland, though, right? Yeah. Hey, dude, you get Beckett back. And I hate that all of a sudden there's Cleveland fans coming out of nowhere. I haven't seen a Cleveland fan in San Diego ever. I've been living here for three years, and all of a sudden I got a call this morning. Hey, it's Cleveland Joe calling you. Oh, really? To just stop at the mall this morning and pick up your brand new Cleveland hat? Like, where were you at the beginning of the series, pal? Look at this guy. No, I just, I don't get it, man. I don't get it. You're a hothead. Like, the Dallas fans. You're a hothead. Where are the Dallas fans now? All of a sudden, they disappeared. They had brand spanking new jerseys on on Sunday, and now they're all gone. Stick to one sport. Stick to one sport.
I can't. This is the only thing that's keeping me alive right now, them Patriots. You're not excited about Josh Beckett going back up? No, I am. I just, I'm worried. Why don't you have faith in your team? Listen, I have so much faith. Oh, he's a hothead. So much faith. I'm not a hothead. A little bit of a hothead. Calm down. It's just, it hurts. It's a knife in the heart. I'll tell you this. He is never, he's, he, let me phrase it this way. He's always a worrywart. He's always a worry-worry. I mean, I'm telling you, he never goes into any postseason stuff. How can you? If you're a Boston Red Sox fan, how can you? When we were playing the Angels and we were up 9-0 and they put Eric Gagman, I almost lost my mind. I was like, great, this is going to be the biggest comeback they've ever had. Why don't you have more faith in your team? No, I don't. I do. No, listen. Don't do that. Don't do that to me. Don't you put that evil on me. The Boston Red Sox fan is a fascinating fan. If you've never seen... Let me tell you to order something from Amazon because even I own it. Don't. No. Order... No. Fever Pitch. Don't. Order Reverse the Curse. No, don't.
I can't watch it all the way through. It's a great story. They keep playing it on HBO this past week, and I want to cry halfway through it, and then I have to pause it and go leave. Rob, at the end of it, it's a great uplifting story. You guys win the World Series at the end of it. Yeah, we did. How could you not like that? One time in 86 years. Most of that movie is reliving the pain. It is. It is, but at the end of it, oh, man. Oh, I mean, yeah, it's great at the end. But you got to see this movie. You got to see this movie. Order it. It's a documentary. You got to see it because it does such a masterful job of painting the picture of what the last 86 years have been like for the Boston Red Sox fan. Not fun? Not fun. And what the beauty of it is is this dysfunctional love affair they have with this team. Yeah. It's so dysfunctional. And it goes through the psychology of the fan and what it's like to be a child brought up by a father who is a Boston Red Sox fan and how you fall in love with them and how your dad woke you up in the middle of the night in 1988? 86. 86. In 1986, your dad woke you up in the middle of the night. Come downstairs, son. It's going to happen right now. One more out, son. Come on. Wake up. You got to remember this moment.
The rest of your life. I don't want to listen to this. Bucky Dent. And then Bucky Dent. Bucky Dent. That's what they call him. No, no, no. That's what they call him. In Boston. I'm careful. That's what they call him. I know how you are. Your heart is. Yeah. A little bit. And like the days. Huh? Your parents will let you skip school and your dad will take you into Boston on the tee and you watch the socks. And you're so happy. It's like the greatest memory ever. And it's that bitter cold October that just takes your hat, rips it out, steps on it. Oh, what happened? We're going to do something on Thursday. I believe that we can. Yeah. You're going to win? I'm hoping for it. I'm praying for it. God is so busy right now answering all my prayers about the Red Sox. It's not just you, buddy. Oh, I know. His answering machine is full from the 617 area code. We'll be back. Until we learn most people die of natural causes.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. So it's just a bizarre situation. Elizabeth Hasselbeck's husband has been signed to play for the Cardinals. That's how he's known now, right? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's not Tim Hasselbeck. It's Elizabeth Hasselbeck's husband. That's got to be an awesome, awesome thing to go all the way through Pop Warner, get into high school, distinguish yourself as a stud, go to college, Distinguish yourself as a stud at the collegiate level. Get drafted. Play for an NFL football team. Your wife's a loudmouth on The View. You're now her husband. So they're going to Arizona. Do you think she's going to go to the games? She doesn't go now, does she? He's not on that team. Oh, I thought he played for the Giants. He was released, I think, before the beginning of the year. Oh, I didn't know that. But that must suck because, what, The View's out of New York.
And with her having two little babies at home and their home base is now Arizona. How's that going to work? Yeah. Because she's actually leaving The View early for maternity leave to settle in Arizona and to meet the doctor in Arizona that's actually going to be delivering her baby. Is she pregnant? Yes. No. Oh, you didn't know? No. Oh, yeah. She's pregnant. So actually Tuesday is going to be her last day on The View. Interesting. For a while. Let me please hear cut 31. The biggest thing, it's not a reflection on our receivers. Our receivers are going good, and they're going to make a lot of plays for us. The biggest thing is with Eric's situation, and I alluded to it on Monday that we were having tests done, and I was concerned about where Eric would be. The time frame just wasn't going to work for Eric. It was going to be too long, and he wasn't going to be able to be a part of what we're trying to get done. So it was kind of a number of things that led us down this road. He's talking about Eric Parker. That's Norv Turner on Eric Parker, who's officially been put on IR. And yesterday, San Diego Chargers signed Chris Chambers. On the phone with us right now, general manager of the San Diego Chargers, A.J. Smith. Good morning. Good morning, A.J. How are you? I'm doing good.
It's got to be an exciting day over there? Yeah, it is. We just had an opportunity to add a real good football player, and unfortunately, you know, everybody knows the status with Eric Parker. We were working our way patiently and slowly through that, hoping things would work out, and it didn't. So we made a move, and we think it's really going to help our football team. How does something like, take us into the office, the general manager's office, AJ, and how does something like this come up? Well, there's always trade conversations that take place all the time that never really make their way to the media. General managers talk back and forth, exchanging ideas, names. We know each other in the league. Everyone's trying to upgrade and get better. But a lot of time it never really materializes. And we throw different ideas back and forth. Some players that might be available, not be available. Not only this year, but we talk a little bit down the road too. There's contracts and agents and maybe they've got multiple picks and they might want to draft somebody in the future. So we don't tell our full story, but we're just inquiring about getting talent. And obviously with our situation with Eric Parker, we knew there potentially could be a problem.
So I was kind of hanging on the edge a little bit, just exploring opportunities around the league. And it materialized in Miami. Now, Miami, as we know, they have their own problems they're going through right now. They're not off to a good start. They're planning for the future. They may make some more changes. So it's just something that took place. And there's only two trades, I believe. A lot of people do not trade. I believe in it. Whatever means to make your team better, we're going to explore all those avenues. So it just kind of at the midnight hour just took place. AJ, you know, obviously Cam Cameron is the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. He was your offensive coordinator last season under Marty Schottenheimer. Now he's over in Miami. Why do you think the Miami Dolphins were willing to give up a player? the caliber of Chris Chambers? I really don't know, and that's their business. We all have different ways of doing things, but obviously I don't ask them their business. We're just interested in one particular player, which is the dialogue that I had with Randy Mueller, the general manager in Miami. So we all have ways of doing things, and people move around, GMs move around, players, coaches, assistant coaches, head coaches. It's kind of what we do.
all trying to find the right pieces for your particular organization. They are 0-6 in Miami. I really don't know what their future plans are, but I knew that there was a guy that we had targeted that we held in high regard. We had a receiver problem that we were looking at, and it was a steep price to play. Second-round draft pick. You know, we kind of like draft picks in San Diego, and we utilized them pretty good in the last several years. But we just felt with this particular team, that it was worth it. And also, guys, with it comes a contract for three years. So it's 07, 08, 09. So we do have him for that period of time. I think we have a lot of players under contract, locked up 7, 8, 9, and beyond. I really believe that this is a great window of opportunity for us. So he's going to be with us during that time, maybe even further than that. But it's a three-year venture with him. But it's all about this year, and I think he can help us. I'm talking to San Diego Charger General Manager A.J. Smith about the acquisition of Chris Chambers, the wide receiver from Miami Dolphins. Yesterday this went down, gave up a second-round draft pick from the Chargers to get him. A.J., what will this do for the other skill players? What does the acquisition and the addition of Chris Chambers do for LT and Antonio Gates? Well, it just gives us a proof.
veteran with high production that knows this game that's extremely talented. It's adding another weapon. Anytime you can add good football players and it gels, it's going to make you better. So I think that's what's got us all excited and our team excited. I think Chris Chambers is immensely talented. The bonus to all of this is the fact that he's familiar with our system. Not that another player from another team wouldn't be acquired. It takes a little bit longer to adjust, especially if they're a veteran, they adjust quickly. So that's an extra bonus in this particular case. He can be absolutely plugged in, knowing probably 98% of the terminology. So it's going to be a really good situation for him. AJ, has he already arrived? Is he here in San Diego now? Yes, he arrived late last night. He's having a physical as we speak. He'll be joining our team. immediately after that. Is the jersey already made the whole deal? Like, he has got a locker? Is it already like that? Well, yeah, everything's set up any time you make a move like that. Now, as far as the jersey, you know, I'm not really sure. 84 was his number. Buster Davis has 84. I think we've got a couple of jerseys available, 89, 82. So there might be a little negotiation going on with the rookie. Yeah, yeah. Or maybe not. He might take another number. But, yeah, once it's done,
It's all set up, ready to go. AJ, you know, nationally... people are getting to be a little bit more familiar with the name A.J. Smith. Part of the reason that we are is because you've made some pretty good decisions, especially in the draft, guys like Sean Merriman, Luis Castillo. And so you have sort of, you know, definitely put yourself on the map as being one of the best general managers in the NFL. But one thing that we don't know about you is any of the personal side of you. Are you into music? Well, first of all, you said accolades. Now, are you talking about last year saying nice things about me and the last two or three weeks? What do these guys know? Because there's been some stuff floating around that wasn't really good. What do these guys know? That's all I say. Over the last couple of weeks, whatever, it's a hiccup. We're on a winning streak. Well, you're asking personal. No, it's all football for me.
I don't do much. Don't play golf and have hobbies. I do look forward to, you know, dropping out a little bit during June and the first part of July. I do like to go to the beach or go to the Hawaiian Islands or the Caribbean or lay by the pool and just think about things, to be honest with you, and relax. Are you a reader or a television watcher? Yeah, I read. You know, not really novels and things. It's football-related business. study organizations and read on coaches and read on books that are put out, get a little inside information, things of that nature. But I'm kind of always, I hate to admit it, the wheels are always turning a little bit, even though I do drop out. Other than that, with our job by structure, it's really year-round. It never ends. There's always a situation coming up. I do like to look down the road two or three years, even though I'm concerned with winning now and tomorrow. So there's a lot that entails it, but I do enjoy it, and I love it. So, AJ, no iPod? Yeah, I got an iPod. See, you got a... I got an iPod I'll listen to, sometimes some talk radio, depending, and I mix it up by the pool or at the beach. Now you're asking me what kind of music I have. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you got on that iPod? Well, my daughter plugs in some stuff for me, but it's a wide range. It could be Dave Matthews, Temptations, Four Tops.
Going back to my college days, the little beach boys from high school, a wide range. There you go. See, these are things that I didn't know about you. I like to get to know you a little bit. It's A.J. Smith. Well, listen, A.J., I think it's going to be great. Obviously, this is a proven player that's a very good football player, and I think he's going to be great as a San Diego Charger. Well, we're looking forward to it. You know the goal, guys. We've talked about it. I really don't care what the numbers are at the end of the year. Just let's stay in the hunt and win the West and stay competitive. It's a long way to go. And if we win the West, we know what that means. You get a bid to the tournament, and that's what we want. We want an opportunity to be in postseason. There you go. A.J. Smith, GM of the San Diego Chargers. Thanks for coming on, A.J. You're welcome. See ya. We appreciate it. He is a football guy. Oh, yes. There was one other trade yesterday. Kansas City sent running back Michael Bennett to Tampa Bay, which I guess opens the door for Priest Holmes to make his comeback. Sky, what are your honest thoughts about that deal with the fishing and the fishing hooks and stuff? I feel it's a bit extreme. Not something I would personally do, but at the same time...
We're talking about them this morning, whereas if they would have done something not as extreme, we wouldn't be talking about them this morning. Oh, we're talking about them. Yes. But are we not going to eat fish? Call meat is murder! We're not go fishing? Meat is murder! I, after yesterday, will no longer eat fish. It worked. You don't eat fish. What? It absolutely worked. Yep. See? You've never eaten fish, son of my gun. You go, PETA. Oh, it was PETA. Yeah, it was PETA that, you know, was behind it. But, yeah, it's crazy. They said there was, like, this scaffolding that they set up, and then they hooked the hooks to it, and then the people were hanging off, like, the flesh of their back in the hooks. But those people enjoy it. Yeah, there are definitely people who do that for pleasure. So then fish enjoy it? No. I'm confused. Some of them do. Some of the fish enjoy it? Yeah. But it's not, see, the difference is it's not the fish's choice. That's the message they're sending, right? Well, no. Yeah, apparently. Yeah, well, they've confused me, so I think what they're trying to tell me is fish like it when we hook them. No, opposite. So I'm going to go out fishing today? No, the opposite. You've convinced me, PETA. They like it. No. They said that they choose to put the hooks through their skin. Fish don't have the choice. The police did show up.
But PETA wasn't doing anything illegal except for one of the female protesters didn't have a top on. So she just had to put duct tape over her breasts and was allowed to continue to hang. I bet she's fun to hang out with. She sounds like the type of gal that would really enjoy hanging out with me. Sunday afternoons with NFL Sunday tickets. Like, she'd be like, no, put it on $7.25. Instead of pizza, extra meat. What?
So, yeah, that's something you don't see every day, huh? No, you do not. Is anybody listening right now and you're in PETA? Hmm. Can you think? 570-1053. They had a busy day yesterday. I mean, maybe they're sleeping in. What does a PETA person listen to? Um, NPR. NPR? Yeah, yeah. Even a young PETA person? Oh, yeah. They're like, yeah. They're out on, like, commercial radio. No. Really would be out on someone like me. Meat lover. Maybe Jagger and Christy. Just because they're great. Duh. That's the officially licensed PETA show? I think so. Yeah. They were hanging from hooks yesterday morning on their show. Just Jagger. Oh, just Jagger. Mikey's show. Hello. Hello? Hello. Oh, hi. This is P1 Schaefer.
What's up, Schaefer? Hey, I was just calling to let you know, I think I've heard on TV and stuff that most fish do not have, like, they don't feel pain in their mouth because they don't have, like, nerve endings in their mouth. So when they get hooked, they don't actually feel anything. Does it hurt when we stick them in the frying pan? Yeah, that does hurt, but getting hooked, that only hurts. That's fun. Takes them for a ride. Takes them for a ride. You know how when you have like a rope and your dog grabs onto one end and you're on the other? Yeah, a little tug of war. Yeah, that's good times. Yeah. All animals love that. Yeah, they do. Thank you. Okay. You guys are all the experts. It's official. Mikey Show. Hey, can I say something about fish? You're on the air.
All these people that are, like, all militant about fish, they're like, finally, I get a chance. Yeah, can I? Can I please? Yeah, Mike, I got something to say about effing fish. Yes! I'm so glad you finally brought up fish. I'll talk about fish. Yeah, dude, you want to know something? Fish can eff off. Right? Oh, wait. It's, like, all hardcore about fish. Yeah. Tell you about fish. Go ahead, dude. Oh! No! We were just having fun. Dang it. Where did Crazy Fish Guy go? In your face. Damn it! Couple words for you, fish. Mikey Show. Hey, I have something about fish, too. What? Big tuna. Does he like to be hanged? Oh. Whoa, big tuna. Real a bit. Big tuna. The tuna. Depends what's on the end of the hook. P1 Bob. Yeah, how you doing? Good, man. Hey, does PETA count for people eating tasty animals? I'm in that club. Yeah, if it is, I'm in PETA too. Zing. People eating tasty animals. P1 Drill Instructor. Yeah, what was the lady without a top trying to prove? What was the message she was getting across?
Well, she was pretty much basically naked except for tiny little bottoms. And I guess she had her body painted the colors of like fish, like green. You know, so she was trying to look as much like a fish as possible. All right, I have a question. Yeah. That girl that did that, do you think she plays fantasy football? Yes. No. You don't think so? Come on. Too commercial. I want to know what would have happened if Ted Nugent would have been rolling by. Oh, my gosh. He probably would have shot them all with his hunting rifle. You know, it hurts, but it feels so good. What are the things? Let's think of the things that girl doesn't do. She doesn't play fantasy football. She doesn't listen to Britney Spears music. No. Not if it was the last track. She doesn't drive a muscle car. She does not own a television. That one is questionable to me. That one's questionable to me. I know for a fact, she don't drive a muscle car for sure. She doesn't listen to Britney Spears for sure. She may have a TV, but she does not have cable. She doesn't pay. You think she's just got rabbit ears. Yeah. And I don't think she turns it on unless they're making news. I say she's got cable, but she only watches certain smart stuff. Right, like the news and political channels and Discovery channels. MSNBC. You guys don't know her at all. She doesn't, dude.
There is no way. She doesn't watch MTV and she definitely doesn't buy tabloid magazines. Does she know who... Has she ever heard the name Dina Lowen? No. No. Probably not. Doesn't care. Can she tell you who Lindsay Lowen is? Yeah. Has to. Yeah, but... You don't get that from MSNBC. But she's annoyed that you're asking her about Lindsay Lowen when all these injustices are going on. She... Does not. She has not seen the movie Fight Club. There's no doubt. Now, these are absolutes, okay? So whatever we're naming here are things we're sure of about the girl that hung herself by hooks and painted herself like a fish for animals. She's never seen Fight Club. She's never seen Pretty Woman. No. You don't believe she's seen Pretty? Couldn't have been a different time in her life? She's never seen The Notebook. Zappy.
Unrealistic. She does not think she has never watched one round of any MMA event. Right. That's barbaric. She's never heard of Chuck Liddell. Never heard that name in her life. Ever. Gets very angry at the thought of a hot dog eating contest. Absolutely. There's no, I mean, there's not a maybe. That's an absolute. She's not looking forward to the new Iron Man movie. No. She's like most Americans. Oh, yeah. I was going to say. Oh, my God. You've got to be kidding me. My wife just IM'd me that she has never one time bought anything from Nordstrom. I agree with that. Or Victoria's Secret. Oh, thank... There is no...
Nike, hell no. There's an absolute on Nordstrom, Victoria's Secret, and Nike. Absolute. Never. She's never done it one time. She definitely doesn't shop at Walmart, you know. Probably a hot topic. Track and trail. No, no, no. Thrift stores, for sure. It's her spot. Does she wear thong-style underwear? Eesh. Eh, maybe. Really? Maybe. Maybe. Yeah? If any at all. Does thong style underwear have anything to do with animals in any way? I don't think so. And Rebecca said she knows who Lindsay Lohan is. Because Lindsay Lohan wears fur. She knows every celebrity that wears fur. She hates Jennifer Lopez. Oh, despises. Don't even get her started on that. Don't even bring up J-Lo. Because you'll be there for a while. She's never been to a cockfight. That is true. Heather Mills, her idol.
She does not have a Michael Vick poster in her bedroom. She abhors sex in the city. Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. Oddly enough, read Stephen King. P1 original trunk monkey is on the line. How much you want to bet that the hanging naked chickfish is pro-life? Mean as murder, right? I say she is, no, she's definitely pro-choice, isn't she? Yeah, I think he's being sarcastic. I think the odds are. Oh, I got you, I got you. Yeah, the sarcasm. That's sarcastic. P1 Brian is on the line. Are you there, Brian? Hey, I'm here. Go ahead. Hey, you know, the most infuriating thing about the whole PETA thing and fish for all her, anyway, because the American population doesn't eat that much fish,
There is so much fish that is actually donated to school programs around the United States so that kids can actually get something better to eat than, you know, junk food and candy bars. Where's PETA's view on that? I'm sure PETA thinks that they should be eating healthy things like vegetables and fruit. Donate some tofu, dude. Yeah. This is a tasty burger. Thank you, Jules. P1, Chris is on the line. Are you there, Chris? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. All right. What I want to know is where does PETA stand? Unethical treatment of furries. Great question. Legitimate question. Yeah, it's a legitimate question. That's not a legitimate question. Speak on it. What do you think that the PETA people think of a furry eating a snow cone? What about that? A Twix. A churro. I don't think that has anything to do with anything. And what about fish furries? So good. They're actually called scales, and there are some. Okay. Please. Oh, my God. Come on. What? Really? Come on. Sean, really? I'm serious. Of course he's serious. What do you think he's joking? He's not joking around about his culture. It sounds like a joke. There are people who dress as reptiles, and they dress as fish, and they're called scales. Scale furs. Just like, no.
Just scales. Just like people who dress like birds, they're called avians. What is the deal with animals that don't get along? Like, you know what I mean? Yeah. What if you go as a mongoose and you run into a snake? What then? What happened, Sean? Tell me, you little rascal. No. I'm not going to get into a weird spot. Well, you're poking fun again. No, he was being serious. No, he was not being serious. Were you being serious, Mike? Yes. Don't lie. I'm not. I swear to God. I will not do that. I didn't think you would. I won't do that in general. Because you're being mean to me. I'm not being mean. I wondered what would happen if two animals that are enemies in the wild... We're going to meet up. Oh, in the wild? No, no, no. I mean... You said in the wild. Yeah. Normally animals that would meet up in the wild and not like each other. What are they like at a furry convention? The actual animals? Oh, now we're playing stupid. Now we're playing stupid. Beating around the bush. Come on. It's okay. I don't mind.
But he gets it. No, Sean, that's not what I meant. Well, what did you mean? Spell it out for him, Mike. What I meant, Sean, was what if someone is at a furry convention dressed as a mongoose and they come across someone else at the furry convention dressed as a snake? That's very clear. Does that pose any problems? Well, I don't know, Mike. That's too hard to figure out. Oh, then it does. Wow. So they... act like the animal, too? Like, have their traits? Is that... You're not... I don't know. It's a legitimate question. It's not a legitimate question. It is, Sean. I don't know what the hell you guys do there. No. No. We don't do that. People don't attack other people. So all bets are off. Everyone's friends. Unless they decide... Unless they decide, maybe, hey, let's have a, you know, fight. Well, let me... Let me clear it up for you. They are all human beings. There's no food chain, like, relationship type. She's asking a question. It's based on the food chain in real life. No one has to get so mad. It's a legitimate question.
It's not legitimate. It is a legitimate. No, it is not. You don't need to get so mad and defensive. I'm not mad and defensive. You guys are all being jerks. No. Yes, you are. No. Listen, if you're a panda and you run into another panda, are you telling me that you're not going to be excited to see another panda? So then why wouldn't you be excited if you were a mongoose to see a snake? You'd be excited the opposite way. Exactly. That's all perverted. You guys get a lot of calls every morning that people pick on Sky or Ashley or giving Eddie or Sean stuff. Every one of you are great. Thank you. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. It was this random little place off the beaten path. We went to a place around there, too. Yeah, they had taquitos just like these. Full of flavor, good texture. What are these, Delimix? Yeah, the place we went had taquitos like these, too. Wait, did this place have a really big fish tank in the middle? Yeah, and the tortillas were pressed and grilled right on the spot. You know, these Delimix taquitos taste a lot like that. Right. Oh, they were stuffed with this really tender shredded beef, just like these Delimix. Remember the mariachi band? Oh, my God.

Just a little rain could cause this much of a mess. Both the 5 to 5 northbound still struggling out of Chula Vista all the way to National City. The 5 freeway, that's a slow ride continuing all the way to Mission Bay. And now there's a... Car that flipped out on its side here. Northbound 5 on the ramp to eastbound 52. 805 continues to go to Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. Westbound 94 King Freeway. That's still backed up here from the 805 in the downtown. Westbound on the 8. That's still quite a struggle here out of La Mesa from around Spring Street. Dolphin on the Mission Center Road. More traffic in the Hotel Circle. South 15 pretty messed up from before El Norte Parkway. That's a slow and go ride over the colleges all the way down to Mercy Road in Poway. And the coaster ride, southbound 5.
Slow and go here as well from Poinsettia Lane in Carlsbad, down past the racetrack in Del Mar. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. You want to know something? You're really something else. Mossy Toyota's almost done constructing their incredible new facility. This thing is going to rock. And they're doing an under-construction price reduction. So you should go down there and get in on it. Come on, you in the market? You looking for a car? You looking for a truck? Coolest trucks are the Tundras and the Tacomas. Now, the Tundra, you always know the difference between the two because the Tundra is the bigger one. The Tundra is the one with a ton of power. The Tacoma is the smaller but kind of, in my opinion, kind of the... Well, the Tundra looks like a dude that's been lifting weights, and the Tacoma is more of a guy that's just in good shape. But they're both really cool. You should go check them out. And they got the new 08 Prius down there. So if you're green and you want to save the environment, go check out the Prius. They're very cool cars. It's Mossy Toyota Mission Bay Drive, Pacific Beach. Now back to the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. I really do think of the Hurricanes as sort of celebrities. Eddie. I have a very strong sensitivity to smells. Sky. I don't like stinky shoes.
Sean. Headshot Boys are one of my favorite groups. Boston Rob. I was like a shaken puppy. That's a very common terminology. You guys don't use that? Maybe it's an East Coast thing. And Ashley. I'm always dehydrated. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. It's 942. Lindsay Lohan is being called a homewrecker for the second time in the last few months. This time she's accused of stealing a woman's fiancée. He can almost stick a fork in Boston. They are almost done as Cleveland are up three games to one, winning last night 7-3. My mom would say, Pobrecito. Been watching a lot of Food Net and HD. That's a random thought. Here's another random thought. Couldn't get it out of my head. The Louis C.K. interview where he said that the studio executive went, Come on, let's go. I could just picture it.
And if you want to hear what I'm talking about, go to the Mikey Show podcast and listen to that interview with Louis C.K. Walking through that experience gave me the shivs. Made me nervous. Just imagine. Just imagine that guy looking at him. He's standing outside the studio executive's door. He knew he was going to get yelled at. Well, he didn't know he was going to get yelled at, but he knew that they didn't like his movie he was directing. And the studio executive for Paramount Pictures, is standing at the door to his office, ushering in all of these producers. And Louis C.K. is last and doesn't even know, am I supposed to go in the office? Do I stay here in the hallway? What? And the studio executive looks at him and goes, come on, let's go. And the way he said it. Heart sink. Oh, you just go, oh, that could not have been fun. Like when you're making a movie, it is it takes over your life. It's everything that you do and everything that you are at that point.
And for it to come down to that moment. When you know that they just hate everything about it. They just hate it. They hate it. And it's the best you could do, obviously. And they hate it. And I was telling Craig Gass about the story. And he goes, how hilarious is it that that much effort is being put into Pootie Tang? So true. People are losing sleep over Pootie Tang. Yes. Jobs are being lost over the movie Pootie Tang. One of my favorite movies of all time. You would. I swear to God. You know he's not kidding, Ashley. No, I know he's not. I love that movie. It comes right after Justin and Kelly. Even the director said it was junk. Yeah, he did say it was junk. I was disappointed. But it makes me want to see, like, the director's cut. You'll never see the director's cut. If it's that good as it is now, imagine how much better it will be. You know what I haven't seen that I would like to see, and Sean says it's very interesting, which you've got to take with a grain of salt, but he says it's very interesting, is the Richard Donner version of Superman. Oh, dude. Superman 2, sorry. It is fantastic. Superman 2, right? Yes. Okay, Richard Donner directed the first Superman. It's a work of art. It's brilliant. It's great. Superman 2.
He gets hired to do it and they jack with it. So he's like, you know what? Forget you. I'm out. And he'd already made like pretty much the whole movie. And they started doing the same thing, arguing with him. So he got out of the way. Some new guy came in, recut, redid the whole movie. What you saw in theaters was not what he intended. And so now available on DVD is Superman 2, the Richard Donner version, the way he intended it. Which was pretty good. The first one I liked. Yeah. And it's interesting because they shot them both actually at the same time. So the same style, the same tone, the same type of cinematography, it all carries through. How different is it, Sean? It's completely different. Really? I would say there's maybe 30% footage that you saw in the original. Does he lose his powers? Oh, yeah. And the way he loses it is... Fantastic. It's not cartoonish or anything like that. It's great. Interesting. Wow. And the whole thing in Niagara, completely different. Really? And they still got those three bad guys, right? Yep. Yep. And they went so far as to recut the scenes that were in the original theatrical release with different camera angles. Whoa.
So like the scene with Jor-El when he's talking to the three and they're about to be sent into the Phantom Zone. It's the same scene, but all the angles are different. Wow. So good. What a trip. Yes. Play it. Jor-El. Call Jor-El. Shut up. I do remember seeing Superman when I was about 12. And as a kid, I wasn't really into comic books and stuff like that. Although I do remember being... beyond blown away by the movie Superman. Because at the time, I had never seen anything like that before. It was great. And I remember that among kid culture, word starts getting around. And to a kid, when you hear certain things that happen in a movie, like it's the coolest thing in the world and you want to see it real bad. I remember kids at school were like, so Superman flies real fast and he makes the world start spinning the opposite direction.
And everybody was all... Same thing with horror movies. I also remember them saying, in the movie Poltergeist, this guy pulls his face off. Eddie's conducting right now. He's really good. Can he stop? He's killing it. John Williams isn't here today. You're killing it, Eddie. Get it. Hey, can I do... So good. Wow. Mr. Williams, do you mind? Wow. He's not here today. Do you want to take over? Is that... Whoa, whoa. It isn't that I want to take over. Look at him go. I was wondering if I could just do wind instruments. So graceful. Go for it. They're a little quieter. You've got to do them differently. It's making an amazing team. Oh, my. Look at that teamwork. The radio. Nobody but us can see you doing this right now. So professional. They're so into it. They're so flamboyantly into it. I know, right? With his delicate woodwinds. I know it. And Eddie with his...
Gigantic sweeping brass movements? Yes. I have an observation. I have an observation about conductors that I love. Okay, Eddie, please. Your arms are going to start hurting soon. How do those bastards do that? That's a workout. I didn't realize it until I started to conduct. Yeah. But I realized that one thing that I do love about conductors is when, with their right hand, they're doing a very subtle conducting. And with their left hand, they're letting another part of the room know, quiet, quiet. Yeah. You know how they, like, each hand lets this side know, you need to die. Both very important, Mike. And this side, and then you lift the other part. Okay, guys, you come up a little louder. And the padding down over here. Let's you know what's going on. Equally important. So are we to believe? Hold on. Whoa, Eddie, you're back. Get it. Are we to believe? That without the conductor, they wouldn't know what to do? No way. So lost. See, from my experience in the choir. Oh. That's the same thing. But you get conducted. Just the same exact. Not the same thing. And sometimes you know from practicing that you're supposed to be quiet at certain points, but you're really excited. The adrenaline of the performance. So it's good to have the conductor there to remind you. This is where we take it. Yeah, because you might. Take it down a notch. Yeah, he's got to remind you like, oh, I would have gone too. Yeah.
Eddie, your arms are going to... Not only is he a doctor, but he's also a professional conductor. And obviously now Mike plays the violin. Oh, look at that. It's so weird, but I'm in. Why is Eddie conducting directly to Mike? I don't know. I don't want to screw it up. Please don't distract me. I got Zeth on the drums over there. Yes, on the kettle drum. Okay. I... You don't know. You look like you're going to lasso somebody. I don't know anything. Eddie and I were talking about conductors after the show because we talked a lot about conductors yesterday. Composers. Composers. We talked a lot about composers yesterday. And Eddie was like, I don't remember. He goes, I don't remember Jerry Goldsmith. I think I may like more Jerry Goldsmith stuff than the John Williams stuff. Bite your tongue.
I love that John Williams stuff. What does Goldstein do? What? Goldsmith. First of all, he hated food coloring. That's numero uno. Right, Sky? Dr. Feingold, different. Oh, he's a doctor too? Wow. We share a lot in common. Okie dokie. Here, let me read you his movies. Oh, no. Are we really doing this? Oh, I was getting emails about it, Skye. Don't worry. People dig it. Okay. Don't worry. Yeah, don't worry, Skye. Yeah. Quit worrying. I was worried. Stop. I was up all night thinking about it. Too much worrying. I don't worry, Ward. All right, let me read you some of Goldsmith's movies. He did Alien, which was the creepiest. I love that movie. It was the creepiest music ever. The music in the movie The Untouchables.
Which was bad A. Just awesome. He did Star Trek. Oh, dude. Shining a boy. He did a lot of TV. I found the big movies. He did all the music from the movie The Twilight Zone. Oh, wow. Trying to find the real, because he did some real big movies. Okay, here we go. Do you guys remember the movie? Alien Nation or Leviathan? Oh, yes, dude. Absolutely. No. Mandy Patinkin? Mm-hmm. Okay. Shut your mouth. Whatever that means, I don't know part of it. He played the alien. And James Stone. That's very true. Yeah, Patinkin. What? Patink you very much. What up? In your face, guy. I think I got the wrong one. Patinkin. I'll leave you with this.
better when he conducts. When he uses the straw wrapper, his movements are so much softer and flowier. They're refined. Yes. It's like a ribbon dancer in the Olympics. There it is. There it is. Ribbon dancer in the Olympics. I'll re-enunciate that since you barely spoke up. Such an honor. Mr. John Williams. He doesn't talk. He just sits there with a stick. Do you guys picture Zach in the beginning of the show on the lot going, I never want to picture that. Now I found all his movies that Jerry Goldsmith did, and it's like a gabillion things. That's why I said I've always really liked his stuff. Good, because I wasn't that impressed with him. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, now listen to this list. Okay, well, let me tell you about Cricket. And then I'll tell you about the list. The list is life. The list is life, as they say. I've heard that. This guy, half her wardrobe is free. That's true. That is a fact.
And actually, it's interesting that we were just talking about this. Pedro, his first career, he tried to break into conducting, but it got so confusing with all the different arms that it just didn't work out so well. So now he's the mascot for cricket. Really? Everybody's really happy. I didn't know that that's how it began. Yeah, that's how it started. It just didn't work out with all the arms and stuff. Doesn't he have legs? And legs. Hey, Mikey, would Sean Sean call a bunch of pandas at a convention a pandemonium? That is really dumb. My name is not Sean Sean. That's a good one. Shut up, Eddie. I won't. This is so good. It's not good. It's tired. Not tired. Kansas City sent running back Michael Bennett to Tampa, which opens the door for Priest Holmes to come back. She's a trip. Herm Edwards said he may play this week. Oh, come on. The guy hasn't even practiced in two years. That's crazy. How is he going to play? That's crazy. That is crazy. George Lucas says they're planning a Star Wars spinoff. Let's talk about it. That's crazy. Oh, yeah. For TV.
For TV dudes. Yeah, Sean. Eddie, would you be interested? I mean, don't you think that would be, don't you think that they would mess it up? Your love? What? Well, if they took it to television. Well, first of all, yeah, it's not about like the Skywalkers or Han Solo or Chewbacca. It's like about a whole new family, like people, race, stuff. What is it? It's awesome. Tell me! Lucas says the Skywalkers aren't in it, and it's about minor characters. So minor characters that we've seen in the movies will be the focus of this TV show. It should be all bounty hunters. It could be. You don't know. Which would be rad. Star Wars bounty hunters. Yeah. And it's live action. So this is different from the cartoon thing he's doing. This is live action. All about walrus face. What? My canteen thing. Oh, okay. You guys are in there? Yeah. Hammerhead. Whoa! I wish we had all that music. How do we not have the cantina music? It's got to be in there. I bet we don't. I bet you Ashley will look it up any second now. Totally already am. Nice. Under themes. I got it. What? Here it is. Wow, that was awesome. That was really good. That was keyboards.
Nice. Yeah, that cantina music had kind of a 40s sound to it, didn't it? Mm-hmm. It's great. Clay Aiken's hitting Broadway. It took this long. We didn't get it. Do we have it or what? I'm not finding it so far. Seth would have found it. Yeah. Clay Aiken heading to Broadway starting in the new year. He will play Sir Robin in Monty Python's Spamalot. He is a gay man. The director says that Clay doesn't just have a, quote, glorious voice, but he is an excellent comic actor and a master of character. Your gayness does not define you. So Lindsay Lohan's been accused of breaking up another... I got it. ...relationship. Oh, he's got it. Look at this guy. It's in the white. It's in the white. The white to the left on the wall. White to the left.
There is no white to the left. Oh, no. Come on, Rob. To the left, to the left. How many things can he screw up? In the white box on the left, the more left-hand side white box. There's no white box on the left-hand side. What? Okay, then can I put it up by one of your beds? Oh, he put it middle. in the middle, white, where we normally put, like, whispered songs. Well, first of all, if you split the screen in half, that's on the right-hand side of the screen. What is he talking about? Left, white, box. Oh, wow. Not say Star Wars Cantina? Yes, it does. You're welcome. You're welcome. It's not the same thing. Oh, I can't figure it out. Figure it out, man. Always have that. Halle Berry wants to raise her baby green. You know what this means? She's going to have disgusting soft cotton diapers that you don't throw away. No, she said that actually she has found a great brand of organic disposable diapers. Oh! So they cost two to three times as much as regular disposable diapers, but that's not really an issue for Halle Berry. Rest of us, issue. Halle? No. So what's the deal? When they go into landfills, they...
Decompose? Decompose, yeah. Skrill. Pretty cool. What do we do with all of it? It sits in rocks in a landfill. It just sits there. Over a period of time, it breaks down. You can dig it up in 60 years. It'll still be just like that? No, I don't know how long it takes to decompose, but it's definitely, you know, it takes a while if it does at all. Not my problem. Yep, just your children's. Where do we stick all our stuff? In landfills. Shoot it in space. Shoot it in space. I don't think we could. Why? Because. It's a good idea. I'll tell you why. Because it's too much. Like we don't have. Space is infinite, dude. No, no, no, no, no. Brought in the sun. You know how hard it is to lift stuff off in rockets? Like you couldn't put enough. Like it wouldn't even make a tiny little tiny dent. Well, you got to get a rhythm going. Yeah. Oh, so you just continually do it. Yeah, nonstop. Like a giant cannon just continually shooting at the sun and let it incinerate. Until it blocks out the sun and then we all have to live underground. Yeah. In landfills. Eventually our garbage would block out the sun. Yep. Then what? Then where are the ones living underground? Mr. Burns? That's not going to happen. No, like you know. Eddie says it'll incinerate on the way to the sun. It will. Well, duh. Weird. We don't have anything to worry about at all. The sun's pretty hot.
Like you guys have been there. Or send it the other way and it'll freeze. Oh, yeah. All these ideas sound good to me. NASA? Come on. Oh, I know what we should do with it. What? Why don't we just sink it to the bottom of the ocean? Yeah, that's cool, too. Maybe we don't ever have to sink it. Yeah. Never have to worry about it ever again. It'll be gone forever. Until we start catching the three-headed fish. Awesome. Again, Simpsons. Like, what are you... Yeah, what's with you? I don't even... Watch The Simpsons. Wow, I'm pretty awesome. Why don't we just use places that we already have and just designate that? You know, that's where we put it all. We have. It's called Jersey. Like Kauai. How dare you? You should be kicked out of America for saying that. Well, no, you go because you got the other ones. You still got the other pretty ones. You know, you got Oahu. No. Maui. No, Mike. Not funny. Yeah, she's just stuck in New Jersey. Yeah. They do. We don't use it.
We don't use it. Nothing going on there. People live there. Move. Get out. It's a landfill. Why are you living there? What are you doing living there? We're turning it into a landfill. It's a landfill. What's the matter with you? Just give it to Mexico. Oh, great idea. Like it's a gift? We will take it. We already do. We already take it. Brad Pitt says he doesn't approve of affairs on movie sets. Wait. He doesn't think it's right. Yeah, but. Is that an email? That's true. He says that. Yeah, he told the British Cosmo, quote, I always have and always will be faithful. I don't like to see couples who have affairs on film sets or anywhere. I operate on the belief that it catches up with you, end quote. You tell him, Brad. Somebody give him the heads up. So the movies that Jerry Goldsmith did were?
The Omen, Coma, Magic, Alien, Star Trek, The Final Conflict, Outland, First Blood, Rambo, The Twilight Zone movies, Gremlins, Legend, Poltergeist, Leviathan, Star Trek, Basic Instinct. Yeah, he did some pretty good ones. Yeah. Well, which ones do you like? I love the poltergeist music. I loved the alien music. Loved the Twilight Zone music. I love movie music. I have a lot of soundtracks. I got that from my brother. My oldest brother, Mark, almost all of his music collection is soundtracks to movies. I love them. California set up a website identifying the worst tax cheats, including celebrities.
Yeah, they're trying to basically shame people now into paying their taxes. So the top 250 worst tax cheats in California have been put on a website, their names, the city they live in and everything. So the three celebrities that made the top 250 here in California, OJ Simpson, who owes just under $1.5 million in taxes to the state of California. Sinbad, who owes about $2.1 million. And then Dionne Warwick, who owes just under $2.7 million. That's funny. Yeah. I think it's funny. Didn't she know she was going to get in trouble? Right. Skrill. She should have seen that coming from really far away. Did you guys hear about the woman who had like a teenage daughter? Teenage daughter brought her teenage friend over. The friend said that she had a sore throat. And so her friend's mom goes, oh, I'll help you out. I'll give you some methadone. Oh, my God. Gave her methadone. Kid died. No, come on. Didn't wake up the next morning. Holy cow. Yeah, this happened last year. And the Santee mother who is accused of. Oh, is here? Yeah.
of giving this girl the methadone just yesterday. A judge ordered her to stand trial on involuntary manslaughter charges. Witnesses say that she gave the 17-year-old girl eight methadone pills. Now, we don't know. We don't know. Ten milligrams a piece. No way. Well, maybe we do know. Do we know if the girl... We know she gave her ten. Eight. Eight. Do we know if the girl took all eight of them? Well, the county medical examiner testified saying that each tablet she ingested was 10 milligrams. And then he goes on to say, meaning she had 80 milligrams in her system. He went on to testify that 50 milligrams can be fatal to a person who's not used to taking methadone. What the heck? Yeah. So the girl's mom, you've had to take it, right? Yeah. Do you know how many milligrams? Yeah. When I take it. I take 2.5 milligrams. Oh, my. That's crazy. And Sean's a big guy. Yeah, I'm giant and, you know, I have issues. And I can't imagine what a normal, I can't imagine even one 10 milligram pill. Yeah, so needless to say, the mother of this. Why would, you know, what would the mom have to be using a 10 milligram pill for?
You know what I mean? Like, what? Would somebody be using 10 milligrams? She should absolutely go to jail. Well, sure. Of course. Give me a break. Anyway, here's the chief medical examiner. Cut 28. Today, it is the most currently used in two broad areas. One, the treatment of drug addiction, opiate addiction, particularly heroin or morphine. And secondly, as a potent painkiller in chronic pain management. Hmm. Yeah, not for a sore throat? Yeah, Sean's got the chronic pain, so he's taking it. And it's 2.5 that he takes. This chick died. This 17-year-old had 80 milligrams in her system. Brutal. I can't even imagine. Like, how pissed must that mom be at that other mom? Like, I mean. You gave my daughter 10 milligrams, you know. Yeah, I trusted you. 80 milligrams of methadone? Yeah. For a sore throat. Yeah. All out of chloroseptic? Yeah. No lozenges in the house? Jeez. Wow. Phone lines are blowing up. I don't know if people are calling about this. Mikey Show. Hello. Yeah, I just wanted to talk to Mikey. You're on the air, bro. Mikey. Yeah, go ahead, dude. What's going on? The whole thing about, like, the methadone deal that's going on. Uh-huh. Like, that girl, like, she had done it before. Like, I knew the girl. It's pretty crazy. Like, 2.5 milligrams really ain't that bad. Hey, dude.
I don't know that you know her. So when you're saying that, I don't know that you know her. You know her. Give me a break. Call me with that. Give me a break. Even if you did know her, don't call me telling me she's done it before and all this garbage. That's a bunch of BS. Yeah, even if she did, it doesn't matter. I mean, how does that guy think that's an okay phone call to make? Well, obviously, I mean, it sounds like he's young. It doesn't matter. It's like saying that a 14-year-old can do something really stupid and it's okay. Just because you're young doesn't mean that you should know better. You don't call a radio station and start saying what somebody was taken or what somebody... Please. You think it's cool.
I am not saying I think it's cool. I think if I was 17 years old and somebody was being like, oh, this person died, I'd be like, oh, wow, that's weird, because just the other night at a party, we were, you know, whatever. You were saying her. He knew her. She took stuff. Yeah. That's messed up. Mikey Show. Hey, I was wondering why Sean takes the methadone. Chronic pain, right, Shawnee? That's correct. Okay, cool. That's it. Thanks. That's what the medical examiner says is one of the uses for it. What does it make you feel like, though, Sean? Well, it doesn't really make you feel like anything. You just feel less pain. It doesn't give you, like, a sensation of anything. Right. It just sort of makes things disappear, like aspirin. It's like super powerful aspirin. Because I wonder what it did to her, like how it actually killed her. Does it stop your respiratory system? Yeah, yeah, exactly. It'll shut down your respiratory system. It'll basically slow down all of your body functions to a crawl. And then if you take too much, it will stop them completely. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. P1 Michelle. Hello? Yeah, go ahead. You're on the air.
Yeah, that guy's completely correct. I've been on methadone for about five years to help me kick my drug addiction. I started at about 85 milligrams, and now I'm at 82. But I've been on it for, like I said, five years. That woman, she should be locked up and thrown away, especially because of sore throat. It wouldn't help a sore throat in any way. That little girl laid down, and she just fell asleep and just stopped breathing. And it's a shame. You know, it's a shame in a lot of ways. It's not just a shame for that poor girl and that poor girl's family. It's also a shame for this girl whose mother is now, now she's motherless because her mom's going to go away to prison. So now, I mean, it just left a just kind of a trail of destruction. Wow. It's just brutal. Yeah, real sad. There's a woman in Ramona. That has just got her fifth DUI in six months. Oh my gosh. No way. Yeah. Polly. I thought you could only get like three. Well, she's working the system, Sean. How do you do it? What does that mean? Well, I think that's what the clip talks about that we have. Deputy District Attorney Polly Shamoon. Shamoon. Cut 27.
She received several continuances based on the fact that her attorney wasn't ready. In the meantime, all the while picking up new DUI cases. At each DUI case, the same blood had to be submitted to the lab. And this is a lab that handles thousands of cases a month. So basically, for what I read, it's not alcohol DUIs. It's drugs. And so they have to do a blood test. And to get the blood test back takes time. You're not guilty, you know, until the evidence comes forward. She keeps postponing the dates. Her lawyer does. The blood tests keep getting held up in the system because there's thousands of them to do. So she's like on drugs and she's all like swerving all over the road. And so this last one happened this weekend at a shopping mall in La Mesa where she hit a shopping cart which ended up pinning a kid between the shopping cart and a car. Does it say what she was on? No. And it's every time it's been drugs? That's my understanding, yeah. Oh, there was Pauly Shamoon clearing it up. Yeah, working the system. After, like, the third one, they can't go, well, we're going to suspend your license until we... Right. Well, this one is a felony because, you know, it resulted in injury of the kid. So this one should... But still, like you said, I mean, this is definitely a loophole in the system that somebody's got to look into.
On the Today Show yesterday, Meredith Vieira was talking to Jake Gyllenhaal and apparently used a poor choice of words. Cut 13. Talk about movies with a heart. Brokeback Mountain. Did you have any idea when you were making that what you were sitting on, so to speak? I probably shouldn't use that term. Actually, I apologize. You know what I mean? You make this movie and then, wow. I'm sorry, Jake. Very well put. Well said. I think we didn't have any idea of the sort of phenomenon that it would become. We had no idea, Meredith, okay, what we were sitting on. We really didn't. We could barely take it all in when it all started. Is that what you want to hear? Is that what you're looking for? Fine. House party fines are going to expand.
What I'm talking about is apparently, like in the college area, they've been putting out these ordinances that you've got to keep your noise down. If they don't, they could fine you a whole bunch of money. It's like $1,000, right, Skye? Yep, $1,000 if you throw a house party where the noise can be heard from 50 feet away. 50 feet? Yep. That's like outside your front door. Yeah, that's real close. And what if Kid and Play showed up? What up? What up? What up? That doesn't fly in the college area. No? No, I get you. Yeah, so the program's been so successful in the college area that the police want to expand it. Sting in the police? That's right. What?
Sting and the police are standing. No, that's crazy. The SDPD is who I am. Hey, keep it down. I'm 51 feet away and I can hear you, Sting. Spin it, kid. The remix. To the Roger Rabbit. Shortcake. I don't think that's how SDSU house parties go. No, nobody. I don't need to see the Roger Rabbit. I'm good. So, yeah, so it's been so successful, they want to expand it to the rest of the city. Do the Smurf, Skye. Okay, so they're hoping to start with the beach area next. Oh, good luck. Of course. I'm sure it'll work. Well, it worked in the college area. Yeah, pick it up. Making lots of money. Yeah, party. $1,000 a pop. Running man, Skye. I'm doing it right now, Sean.
To Roxanne. Do interpretive dance. Oh, no. Oh, no. Why did you? There's children. You can't do interpretive dance with Roxanne. What? The story is a little. Oh, you definitely can. You will need an exorcist. The story is a little hard. Definitely party jam. Get out my hookah. Yeah. Oh. I'm in. All right. One last clip. I would like to hear. Donald Trump talking about Britney. Oh, no. Cut 25. You know, I knew Britney five years ago when she was hot as a pistol. Of course, I guess you could say she's hot now. Everyone's talking about her. But she performed for me numerous times at different venues that I own. And she was the cleanest, nicest, most wonderful. I'll never forget, she went on the stage in Atlantic City.
And she was with like a prayer group. And everybody got together. They had a Bible in the middle. They put their hands on the Bible. I'm saying, what happened to this person? And the 15-year-old and 17-year-old young girls, she was like parietal. I didn't know that about Brittany. Skye said that she was like going to this shaman thing. Well, she's planning to. go to a Native American reservation near the Grand Canyon to take part in a healing ritual. Aren't we all? It's a great honor. And they will wave sage over her head, dab her temples with a magic potion, chant a mantra, and do a special dance around her. Brittany reportedly heard about this through Owen Wilson. We all know how well it worked out for him. Her new Indian name is Drops with a Baby. Wow. Accurate. Mikey, could you please ask Sean if furries get out of hand at conventions? Do they shoot them with tranquilizers? How else do you stop a raging panda? Pandemonium. If you want Big Sherm. I don't know, Sean, what do they do? You have to refer to him as Sean Sean. Sean Sean? Oh, is he gone? Oh, bummer. Convenient. Right? Duh. All right, 5701053 is the number beginning and end of every show.
We do open phones so you can call about anything you want. K-Fed is openly smoking pot on the set of One Tree Hill. No, he's the good parent. What happened? He just carries around joints. He just smokes them right there in the open. It's tobacco. That's what they say, that he just tries to play it off like it's tobacco, but the smell is so obvious that nobody is being fooled by K-Fed. He says in his song something about let's get something to smoke, and I never thought he was talking about tobacco. Oh, pozo. Mikey Show. Hello? Hey, I just, you guys went on to another subject, but I was just, heard the last thing on that lady with all the DUIs. Right. On a fourth offense felony, it's anywhere from 12 months in jail to a three to five year prison term. Yep. And anything after that's called habitual. Yeah, well, this one this weekend was her first felony. Yeah, well, you know what? She's been ready to go away for a while. I bet that's true. I hope so. I bet that's true. Well, you know, you don't need to be getting that, man. It's not real cool, you know, for people around you. It's not real cool. I thought it was cool. It's not. I was going to start doing it. It's not real cool, but she's not real cool. Oh, okay, I get you. Mikey Show? I was talking about that noise for the party. Yes? Yeah.
Can you get more than one ticket or is it like one ticket a night? Because it's just one ticket. Have everybody that comes to the party bring a few extra dollars. And so like when you get the tickets, like, ah, whatever. We got to pay for it already. That'd be a lot of extra dollars, dude. If you don't get the ticket, you can get more booze. It's a thousand. It's a thousand dollars. Here's audio of the last party. Oh, man. Oh, this was a jam. I want people to sing with me, too. Okay, here we go. Here we go. We're going to get in a ticket. We've got everybody going. Raise your glass. Right now, somebody's calling the cops. Close the front door. People by the king, chime in. I've got to fill up my red beer cup. It doesn't mean you can't chime in. Hey, dude, that's my red beer cup. I wrote on the other side of the Sharpie. I've been drinking out of it. It's not as bad as if I had been drinking out of it. That's a good point. Work it out, dude. What band did you guys hire? Nah, we're doing karaoke tonight. I was going to say, this guy's not that good. You should have seen him taking shots off the ice luge. Is that why he forgot the words? That's why he forgot his pants.
What's he doing shots of? Drano? That is bleach. No. Where is this party? I knew you were drinking. You got a Jaeger milk stash. A Jaeger stash? Yeah, a Jaeger stash. They're on that little stage on a lawn chair. Let him finish. He doesn't know anything. He's doing all right. He'll work it out. Here we go. See? Oh! Everybody throw a dollar in the jar. Why has the bathroom been locked for the last hour? Sorry. He would just listen. They're helping him. I think so.
Hey, Rob, I think somebody dropped ice in the kitchen because there's like a big puddle of water. The floor's all sticky, too. The party's over, guys. Great. Cops are here. No way. Yeah. All right. Thank you. We turn the music off. Cops are here now. But we turn the music off. Let him finish this off. We're screwed. Amen. That guy's going to have the biggest hangover tomorrow. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Very much. Very profound. Lovely and talented Missy's up next. Big Hair Wednesday today. Stuff from the 80s, early 90s. See you tomorrow at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out late. Love you, Matt.
