All right, let's get the Mikey show going. 6-0-3. The president will visit San Diego today. He'll take a tour of the burn areas and then have lunch with firefighters. World Series game one was yesterday. Boston, wow, they broke out the whipping stick. Beat Colorado 13-1. This is as normal as I have felt with the show for a while. We got commercials today. We got everything back. We're like normal. Everything's normal today. And it looks like San Diego is becoming normal. You know, I mean, as normal as it could get. I was looking at that map again this morning, Sky. Yeah. And, boy, that's the best that maps looked in a while. You know, the map with all the fires and where they are and all that stuff. Right. And there's still stuff going on, but it's much better. Definitely, yeah. Air quality, way improved.
Yeah, still not 100%. So if you do have breathing problems, you know, it's probably best to stay indoors. Or, you know, even if you feel kind of stupid, you still go outside with those masks on. You know, it's not worth your health. You know, let things clear out for a couple days. No, Ashley, I meant like the time, like 6.04 a.m. I thought you meant more stay in the time. Well, that's different than what I did. Cindy Lauper, like, time after time. Everyone's got jokes. Well, good morning. My name's Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 37 years old, and I have nothing planned to tell you about myself. I usually do. You can tell people how you were driving around with a mask on yesterday. Yeah, I pulled up next to Skye, and she didn't have her mask on.
Well, I was in the car with the windows rolled up and the AC running. And she was saying something to me, but I couldn't hear it through my mask. Oh, but the mask was on your face. I know, but it affected my hearing. Well, it was a giant gas mask. It was actually a Bill Clinton Halloween mask. No, it wasn't. But that would have been funny. I honked behind her first before we even left the radio station practically to wave at her with my mask. And I could see her looking at me in the rearview mirror, shaking her head. It's like, well, I'll tell you what, at least I'll make it home, lady. Good luck to you. Have fun with the black lung. I made it home fine. I don't... I can see that. Apparently you lucked out. Oh, okay. She's attracted to black lung. Really? Close as I'll get. Bring it on. Right. Oh, man. Let's see. What can I tell you? I'm sure I can come up with something off the top of my head. I procrastinate a lot. I put things off. I do like to put things off until the last minute. And I feel I'm more effective that way. Sometimes when I try to plan ahead, I'm out of my comfort zone. And I don't feel I'm doing a very good job. So that's something about me.
Eddie is our producer and our sports guy. He's 34. Eddie, tell me something about you. There is a temperature war going on at my house. It is unbelievable. I mean, my wife wants that house to be on with the heater right now. And I still want to run the AC. I mean, I'm dying, sweating, dying. And I refuse. I want to... Keep that place cool. And it is an eternal battle. That's got to be tough. It's crazy. I'm sweating and she's covered up in blankets. And I'm like, what is going on with our bodies that we're that different? It's unbelievable. I can't take it. It seems like a real chick thing, right? Cheeks get real cold. Oh, yeah. What's up with that? Maybe we have more fat.
It's hot. It's in the 90s. No, because Rob and I share a heater and we battle every morning because I drink it. Oh, yeah, that's because he's thin. And Rob's anorexic. Yeah, that's why. He's not like a normal guy. His body is morphed into a woman. No, that's what I'm saying is it doesn't matter if you're fat or skinny because... He wants the heater. No, opposite. Oh, he wants the air conditioner. Ashley wants the heater. Oh, I gotcha, I gotcha. Yeah. So it's not the fat thing. No. Because he's, you know... I may see it, dude. Yeah. Thank you. A mini-mini. Well, it must be something. Maybe it's those ovaries or something. Every single day, it's a battle. Every day. I can relate. It's got to be tough. I don't like it. Men are from ours, huh? Oh, gosh. Oh, no. Really? Okay. I just remembered something I can tell you. Yesterday, I went to Home Depot. I don't do this very often in life. I went to Home Depot to purchase something to fix at my home. I know it. Like fix it yourself? Yeah, to do it myself. Your hands? Yes, with my little dainty hands. Wow. That's so cute. What was it, a light bulb? What are we talking? Right. Light bulbs get me going too, you know. Those get me worried too. Will I get the right one? Is it going to fit? It could be tricky. Hey, I've messed it up. The light bulbs in our stairs are not regular light bulbs. I found that out the hard way, didn't I? Oh, no.
Oh. When you screw in a light bulb, do you always think you're going to get electrocuted? I do not. I do. You do? Every time I screw one in. But you're holding the glass. I'm an idiot. You think you, am I shocking? Every time, I have the light off, you know. Right. As soon as I'm screwing in, I'm like, okay, here comes. Here comes the shot. Here comes, and it doesn't happen. Where? Every time. Rest assured. It will not. I don't know about that. It's glass, though. There's going to be one time. There's metal on the end part. I wouldn't doubt it. You've got to be careful. You've got to touch the glass, guys. Touch the glass. Don't touch the metal. There's something short-circuited in there. Exactly. There's a reason why that bulb went out. Exactly. So how did your project go? It went good. I was real handy, Sky. You'd be so proud of me. Yeah, you did good. Well, the first part was super easy. The first part was I had to change the air filters in the house, which apparently you're supposed to change those things. Oh, yeah. All the time. You should have seen what I took out of there. Eddie, do you change the air filters at your house? Yeah. This guy writes an email. We have like a neighborhood, what do they call those, news groups or something like that? Yeah, a little online community for your neighborhood. Yeah, so when somebody sends an email, it goes to everybody in the neighborhood. When you reply, it goes to everybody. So this guy writes and he says, I got a couple of, I can't remember what he said, you know, these air filters. This is what I found out yesterday. They're rated.
OK, so they they go up to like seventeen hundred is like the highest you can get, I think. And they go down real low. And I can't give you an example of what low is, but mine was twelve fifty. And that's good. OK, so he says he writes this email that says, I got a couple twelve fifty twenty by thirty air filters. I just went and bought some brand new ones and I got these ones I'm taking out. I'm sure they're better than, you know. Some of the ones that you guys have, if anybody wants them, first come, first serve. So I go, hmm, I want to know what that's all about. I want to know more about air filters. So I called the guy. I said, I'm not saying I want your air filters, but teach me about air filters. And he goes, well, you know, you got to change them every three months. I go, you do? And he laughed. He goes, yeah, you haven't changed them since you moved in in January of 06. I said, no. You supposed to do that? He goes, Sean, you've been in there breathing that air. Oh, wow. Actually, that's not true. He sleeps with a ventilator on. Oh, that's true. He's filtering it through his ventilator. That's weird. Double filtration. So I said, okay, so I go down to the Home Depot and I buy these 1250s. Now, the one in our master bedroom.
Is 14 by 14. And they don't have any 14 by 14s. Now this guy that had written me. I talked to him on the phone. He says that sometimes they don't have the 20 by 30s. But he says that he'll buy the bigger ones. Duct tape them together. Make sure they fit. Stick them in. They work fine. He says just make sure you do a good job. So it doesn't get sucked up into the thing. So I got that 14 by 14. Or 14 by 25. Measured it. Got a exacto knife. Cut it. It fit perfect. It's in there. Girl, check you out. And it gave me a little bit of confidence that maybe I can do these things. A while back, I even bought a, like, home fix-it-yourself thing that I haven't looked at one time. But maybe I'll start going through that. Like a book? Yeah, it's like a book that they sell at Home Depot called, like... 123. Yeah.
One, two, three, home improvement. And my dad had one growing up. And basically, it's like if anything goes wrong in your house, you just go to that book and it teaches you how to fix it. So I might start getting into doing things myself. Look at you. That's cool. Yeah, my wife was real proud. She thought I looked like a guy. You know, up on the stepstool putting the thing in. You guys should have seen what came out of there. Oh, it was scary. Like it really scared the crap out of both of us. Like we went. That's got to be bad for us, man. That's where Dick Van Dyke was? That's where he was, yeah. He's hiding up there. Yeah, and it'll be better on your electric bill, too. Yeah, because you know what? See, our air conditioner was working really good. Like, the guy said, I'm surprised your air conditioner's... And it was. But then when we put the filters in, it got super cold. Yeah. So... So, dot, dot, dot. No. Oh. So... Know what you mean? Skye's our news girl. She's 30 years of age. Wow. Whoa. Wow. Skye, tell me something about you. Well, first of all, that still hasn't sunk in yet that I'm now a woman in my 30s. Mm-hmm. 30-something. You can relate. Yeah. So since I started showering at nighttime, I used to be a morning shower until we started doing the morning show. And, you know, to save time in the mornings, I now shower and do my hair at night. Oh.
Shut up, Sean. It's disgusting. He's a germaphobe, so that's upsetting. He knows she's sleeping in her own filth. Well, I'm clean when I go to bed. Yeah, but the sheets, you know, the sheets have got the bacteria and you're just wallowing in it. Okay, well, anyway. Bed bugs. Yeah, total bed bugs. I never wash my sheets. Do you wash them every day? No. Then you have bed bugs. Then all of us have bed bugs. That's why you wash in the morning. You get up, you wash it all off of you. Yeah, you wash it off of you. Whatever. It's the truth. It is the truth. So bed bugs are living on me right now. For sure. Yes. No doubt about it. If we got a little light and a little magnifying thing, for sure. They live on people? Uh-huh. But I just saw this thing, that amazing machine. Yeah. There's so much stuff crawling around in your bed. Uh-huh. It's, yeah. It's disgusting. You got to get up in the morning. You got to wash it off of you. Because it's all on you. Like it's on you right now. Oh, I don't care. Crawling. You're filthy. Living. Well, that's fine. I'm okay with that. So I shower at night and I do my hair at night. Gross. Thanks. And so I have to preserve the hair while I sleep. Because if I just sleep with it all down and curly, it'll get all on my face. So I have this special thing. Girls will know what it is. It's called the banana clip. It went out of style, I'd say, in 1992.
And I put the middle portion of my hair up in the banana clip so it looks like a big fat mohawk. And then I keep all the side parts like hanging down. And that's how I sleep every night. It looks a little Medusa-ish if we're being honest because it's like crazy everywhere. And that's how I sleep with my hair every night. Man, that is hot. Yeah. It's very sexy. Oh, it's extremely sexy. Mix that in with the bed bugs. One hot combo right here. Now we got a party going on. Sean's our sound effects guy. He's 37. He lives in San Francisco. We see him on a camera. He broadcasts via satellite. Sounds just like he's here. No reason for me to actually tell people except to let people know that we pull the curtain back here on the Mikey show. Let's see. Sean, tell me something about you. Well, I don't often drink milk, but when I do, I have to salt it. What? What? What did he say? I don't understand. Do you have a preference in 2%, whole milk, whatever? Yeah, I do. I like whole milk. 2% is all right. 1% is really gross. And of course, you know.
A little fat, fat-free is disgusting. Let me walk through the process, okay? Okay, please, because I don't understand. Do you have a preference of glass or plastic in terms of what you drink it in? Yeah, always glass. Okay, so you wouldn't want a plastic cup? No. Okay. He was offended by that. That would be gross. No, no, no. The way that he responded to it was kind of like, well, duh. Like, why would I drink that? Because I prefer plastic cups, especially for soda. I prefer plastic. I don't like drinking out of glass. I like glass. Okay, so you take the glass. Is it a small glass or a tall glass? I would say it's like maybe a 10-ounce glass. Okay. And you put the milk in there, and then what do you do? Take a little bit of salt, pinch it in, stir it, taste it. If it tastes all right, you're in luck. If not, add a little bit more, stir it, and you're good. What if it's chocolate milk?
I don't like chocolate milk. So you drink salty milk? Yeah. What does it do to the flavor? It enhances the flavor. If you think about it, in order to have a good tasty meal, you have to salt your food. Salt is like a catalyst for allowing your mouth to taste all of the flavors. Without salt, things taste weird or bland. So you add a little bit of salt to the milk and like you get so much more flavor from the milk. When is the first time you got the nerve up to try it? Did you see someone do it or was this? No, no, no. I had I had this Persian drink where they take yogurt and milk and they mix it together and they put like mint and onion and salt in it. And it was delicious. So the next time I tried milk, I thought, well. That was really good. Let me see what it's like when you just salt the milk. And it's so much better. It's really good. My Home Depot story is so lame compared to that. I put in an air filter, but this guy, he puts salt in his milk. Do you put kosher salt or just regular table salt? I used to put regular table salt, but you mentioned on the air one time that you only use kosher salt. So I started doing that.
I like it better. Oh, man. And you stir it up with a spoon, right? Yeah. But honestly, I don't see, like, it's not that big a deal because I think a lot of people do unusual things with their food. It's just another unusual thing. I do not think you are weird. I will say this. I've never heard that one. I don't think you're weird. I don't have the nuts to try it. Couldn't try it. You should try it. It's really good. One time. We'll do it when I visit. No, we will not. Yeah, we will. You can have your salty milk with your cold spaghetti sauce. And your baby food. What a meal. Delish. Yeah, he does eat some unusual things. As you warm up your yogurt. And you hate water. He warms his yogurt. He hates water. He puts salt in his milk. Those are all normal foods, though. And Sean, if you have more, don't say it now. Just wait and just unveil them right here on the air. Because they are magnificent.
They're magnificent. I don't know what you mean. Ashley's our assistant producer, and she's 24 years old. How are you feeling, kid? Good. Eddie, I have a question for you. Yes. Eddie has mentioned off the air at times that it's usually the first couple of words from Ashley that determine whether or not they're going to get along. Oh. Have you spoken to her today? Yes. And what kind of day are we looking at? We're fine today. We're good. Wow. We're fine. All right, perfect. Ash, were you aware of this? Yeah. You were aware of this, that the first couple of words he knows whether he's in or he's out. I know whether it's going to be a good day or a bad day for Ashley. Right. You know, which in turn makes it a bad day for me. Right. I mean, I could tell if she's got it together or if she's out of it. First conversation. He says that he can get it right away. Yeah. Now, I don't talk to her until we go on the air. And I talk to her for the first time when we're on the air.
I see her in there buzzing around. Eddie's in there talking to her about stuff. And he told me the other day, he goes, I can tell right away if it's going to be a good or a bad day. Today's good. Yeah, fun. And Ash, you are aware that he's aware of that? Oh, yeah. Yeah? Yeah. Definitely. That's cool. Yeah. But he says today, you got a thumbs up. Yeah. Well, yesterday I wore... yellow sweatpants with my Care Bear shirt, and I called it my ray of sunshine outfit, and I was trying to cheer everybody up. And it really upset Eddie. He was really offended. He thought I looked hideous. He said the pants, like, these are like yellow, they're like my Victoria's Secret yellow sweatpants I've had forever, and they're stained. And he's like, you better shape up and come in tomorrow looking like normal. You better, you better. Pull it together. So, like, I made a point to come in today and, like, dress normal, like, look nice, like, be on, like, points. Look at Ashley. She looks really pretty today. I know. She really does. Because he was really offended by it. Yeah, Eddie's a firm believer in dress for success. Yeah, for sure. He's so irritated. And my yellow headband, and he was just like, you know. Yeah, she's very presentable today. Ashley's very presentable. All right, Ash. Tell me something about you.
So I live by myself in a condo conversion complex. And we all share a dumpster. And taking out the trash, because I have to do everything myself. I pay all my own bills. I clean my place. It's just me. So I have to take my trash out. it is starting to traumatize me taking the trash out to my dumpster because you have to have a key, you have to unlock it, you have to go around. So I've got all my trash, and then you have to, like, flip the lid, and then there's flies everywhere. And you know me with, like, my germaphobe, like, touching. And it's getting to the point where I'm starting to, like, put off taking my trash out. And yesterday, I had two counters full of just, like, boxes of, like... things that like I, you know what I mean? And I'd completely, and I don't know what to do. I'll tell you what to do. You get married. Ladies, every woman listening right now that's married, is that the answer or what? It is traumatizing. My wife puts a little sticky note out that just says the word trash on it. I can't. I hate it so much. And I have always kind of had someone to help me and now it's just me and like, it's,
It's awful. Eddie, is trash your job? Oh, yeah. Sean, is trash your job? Of course. How do we get that? I don't know. How do we get that? You know, it's like the whole women get cold, we take out the trash. I think it's partially because it's gross, and guys don't really care that often about gross stuff. And there's a little bit of muscle involved in it. Yeah. And so you just kind of automatically do it. At some point, we've got to bring up the kitty litter thing and get on the air. Because I'm in charge of that. And I resent that. It's building a resentment deep inside me. Not even your cats. Oh, Eddie, don't encourage. He's right. Eddie's right. And I started taking that kitty litter out because Rebecca got pregnant and said, you know, I can't do that because I'm pregnant. So I can't. Okay. All right. It's a thing. Okay. He's a year old now. No. Oh, no. That little boy. Yeah.
Don't you give me the thumbs up, Sky. Time to transfer responsibilities. Back to the cat owner. Now, her deal is, you know. Mike is a cat owner as well. No, he's not. No, he's not. Those aren't his cats. Sydney was adopted by Mike and Rebecca together. I'm Ellen. I made a mistake. I'm Ellen. I made a mistake. But when Mike married Rebecca, he took on responsibility for those cats. No, he did not. Yes, he did. No, he did not. Yes, it was part of the package. Absolutely not. Rebecca stated that to him and made it clear. No, no. And he accepted. False. He did not. True. If the question were posed to me, all right, you have a choice to make. And she doesn't, by the way. She does not pose this question. You have a choice to make. Either we get rid of those. You take the kitty litter out. And if you don't want to, that's fine. That's fine. We'll just get rid of the cats. She wouldn't even be done saying it. And I would be either calling animal rescue or sprinting downstairs to get those cat carriers. Just drop them off at Qualcomm.
That's right. Hey, these poor animals. These poor animals. These poor animals. Please find a loving home for these poor animals. You just found them. They've been displaced by the fire. You just found them. Yeah, I just found them. Roaming around. All ashy. Yeah. You sprinkle some ash on them before you take them. Right. Mess up the hair. That's right. You take some of that hair product. You put some gel in there. Yeah, right. Nothing wrong with that. It looks like they're all mangy. All these poor things. They'll find a loving home. I would take them, but we have Dobermans. A lot. We have like 80 Dobermans. Yeah. They're all indoor Dobermans. Yeah. I'm like Michael Vick. But I hate the kitty litter things. And we have two of them because we have three cats. We have two of them right next to each other. They look like these little plastic barns. Well, you know, cats usually don't smell when they use the restroom. It's worse than anything you could possibly imagine. At least it's outdoors, right? It doesn't permeate the house. Why are you guys doing this? Cats do not provide milk or wool or meat. It's in a big walk-in closet in my office. Wait, so you get to enjoy it? I get the full-bodied aroma. At least you change those air filters, huh? Oh, man.
There was no other place to put it. Oh, and that way you know when you have to change it, since it's your chore. You sure do know when you have to change it. Well, there you go. You sure do know. You should change the filter on the cat's butt. Who says that? Is that a Home Depot project? Weird. Boston Rob is our phone screener, and he's actually from Boston, Massachusetts. Hey. Cut seven. I think I executed just enough pitches today to survive. That's a good lineup over there. You can tell how hungry they are. Like I said, I executed just enough pitches, and pitches when I needed to execute them I did. I held them off just long enough. Great defense again. We swung the bats like we have here recently, and like we did a lot during the season. We were patient when we needed to be patient, and we got our...
We got our big hits. Hey, dude, take some Paxil, will ya? Sounds depressed. We're sorry? Yeah, dude, I'm sorry it went so good for you. Cut 30. Red Sox wrapping up game number one for the fourth time tonight. 12 strikeouts tonight for Red Sox hurlers. And it's a 12-run victory, a 13-1 final. Boston Rom. Wow. Last night was the first night in a long time I watched a game in peace. No stress. Oh, wow. Just fun to watch? Yeah, fun. I enjoyed it. I was like, bring in Eric Gagme at the end. Let him get his pitches out of the way. He wanted him to come in. Yeah, I wanted him to. You weren't nervous. Get him out of the way. Let him do it now. You know, 12 runs up. I'm feeling pretty confident. Did he give up anything? No. Thank God. I mean, I get nervous when he does pitch. Ashley, you know what that means? Let me explain. Eric Gagne, who Boston Rob calls Eric Gagme. Mm-hmm.
Is he middle relief or is he a closer? No, he's a closer. No, he is not a closer. Yeah. Anymore. I thought Papelbon was a closer. Papelbon? Yeah, but when we first got him, he tried to be a closer. So basically, Eddie's comment off the air yesterday is correct. Eddie knows more about the Red Sox than Rob. To answer your question, he is middle relief. Prove it again and again. Come on as a closer. It really is. Excuse me? Did he come on as a closer? Well, but that wasn't a question. And last night. I said, isn't he a middle reliever? And Rob goes, no. When we signed him, we had two closers. Eddie, can you teach Boston about the Red Sox? He is the biggest idiot ever. Can you let him know about the Red Sox and how the team works and how the lineup works and how the pitching works and how the batters work? Teach him about the game. You're wrong. A mini-mini. He's not your closer. That was the question. He may have been brought in that way. Maybe he was brought in to be a closer. Yeah. He's not your closer. But Rob would like to know, why did he close the game last night? You're telling me if they've had long. Were they going to bring Papelbon in with a 12-run lead? You idiot. They're only bringing closers when you have a save opportunity. Turn is my God. That's not fair. I don't know anything about baseball, and that was pretty dumb.
Oh, my God. You know what? I'm sorry. Let me bow down now. Fun ruined. Fun ruined. They're trying to bring you down, Rob. Don't let him bring you down. Oh, he turned his mic off again. Thank you. That's brutal. Let me explain that. Just talk to Eddie about the guy. Come on. Don't you check out. Don't you check out. He's done. He's done. Rob, don't you push that mic if you want. If there were correct answers, I'll go ahead. All right. They didn't sign Eric Gagney as a closer. When we first signed him. Who's your closer? That was his question. Okay. So, Ash, let me explain how it's done. That's okay, Booster C. Jeez. You got this guy called a middle. You got your starter. Right. Josh Beckett. He's the best in the business. He killed it last night. Comes out there. He kills it. He pitches seven innings. He just kills it. So good. And then what you do is when your starter's all tired, you bring in what you call your middle relief. That pitcher comes in. Hopefully, he does a good job for a couple of innings. The game is close. You bring in your closer. Oh, I'm so sorry, dude. You bring in your closer. I'm so sorry. Are we still doing this? Can you forever forgive me for this? Is that? No, no, no. Pample Moose. Not Pample Moose. That's a restaurant. That's a restaurant in Del Mar. Pample Moose? Apparently everybody is. What you do is, you got your middle relief guy. That's Eric Gagne. Okay. And then you bring in your closer, and that guy's name is Pample Bond. What is it? Pample Bond. Pample Bond. Jonathan Pample Bond.
Pam Boban. Yes, that's right. And he's the closer. He's like Trevor Hoffman for the Padres closer. He comes in there. He goes one, two, three, three. Game's over. If Trevor doesn't come in. You know, he's not the last pitcher, then he's not the closer? That would mean that Mike Bell would be a closer? Is that what he's saying? Is that what that is? I guess. I guess anybody that pitches the last pitch in the game is the closer. No, no, no. You're right. We never used him as a closer. He was never considered a closer. Who is your closer? Jonathan Papelbon is now. Shut up. That's it. We haven't used him as a closer. That was his question. Answer me this. Riddle me this, Batman. We've never... We've never... What is Eric Kanye? Is he your closer? Is Eric Kanye your closer? We still have used him as a closer. He can switch back and forth. Is Eric Kanye your closer? Not our main closer. That's your answer. Main closer. You're both right. Main closer. By the way, all of this...
After a Red Sox victory last night. We'll find a way to do it, Rob. We'll find a way to make it miserable. Even when they win. I can't wait for these microphones to come up and him bust in here. This will continue for the entire commercial break. I want people to know how this works. I want people to know how this works. We go into commercial. I shut the mic. And before I've even turned the last mic off, Rob's up. Headphones off. They're flying open. And he runs in here and me and Skye are on our computers completely ignoring Eddie and Rob. We're not hearing this. And Eddie and Rob's like, dude, what I'm trying to say. Two of them are going at it. The only time he ever runs. Speaking of this World Series, and we'll get to some fire stuff. I figure you might want a little break from it. I don't know. But speaking of this World Series, Did you guys know that Joe Buck had gone on Conan O'Brien and they had talked about this little joke that Conan O'Brien wants... Joe Buck is the guy that calls the game for Fox. He calls the World Series for Fox. And Conan O'Brien wants him to work this funny word into the World Series. And Joe Buck was back on last night and he said, I know we talked about that and I'm telling you, I'm going to do it. And I'll play for you what he wants him to say and the whole thing right after this.

All our freeways are pretty much up to speed, problem-free within the city. Closures are still in place, though, because of the fires here. We've got the Mission Road off-ramps from north and south 15 closed down. West Bernardo Road off-ramps from the 15 closed as well. The 67 still closed northbound from Poway Road all the way up into Ramona. We've got Wildcat Canyon Road also closed northbound from Willow Road to San Vicente. However, southbound on Wildcat Canyon Road, that is open to you. The 94 closed from Steel Canyon to Forest Gate. And, oh, yeah, back up in Escondido, Villa Rancho Parkway closed from the 15 west to Del Dios Highway as well as that whole entire Del Dios Highway closed down there as well. Border waits up to about an hour at San Isidro, but a half an hour no time is up.

All right, welcome back. It's 641. Lighter winds, cooler temperatures, and higher humidity are all helping the firefighters make progress on the wildfires. The decision on the Chargers game should be determined by today. Signs are pointing to having the game at Qualcomm. What? They're saying that the evacuees are kind of moving out. And, you know, if there's anybody left, they'll maybe place them somewhere else. Really? Yeah. Wow. I'm thinking they should petition to have the game on Monday. That gives them an extra day to, you know, kind of get everybody in order. Dude, that's a great idea. Like, you know how they do those two Monday night games to start the season? Why not just do that? Yeah, that's what I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a great idea. Don't need to rush it. I'm even okay if it's a Tuesday night game. You know, whatever they need to do. But I guess, you know, Dean Spanos is kind of waiting for what Jerry Sanders wants to do. And they'll probably figure that out today. So, no real talk during the break between Eddie and Rob. I think Rob kind of got it. Like, hey, you know. I'll leave him alone. Eddie knows more about the Red Sox than I do. And he just kind of left it at that. Leave him alone. Yeah. You get upset when I come in there. I'm not upset at all. You're the one that was a hothead screaming at me. I'm not a hothead. Not a hothead. You won game one. You should be happy. I am.
Josh Beckett is good, man. Yeah. I mean, I think it's kind of a cheap win myself. Why? Why? Because they had eight days off? Yes. I mean, they came in, they obviously were flat, and it's disappointing. I mean, they were red hot, and it's a completely different ball club. Well, their pitching had eight days off to rest, so why? It's not always a good thing. You get in the pattern of pitching every five days, and that's tough for guys in the bullpen. you know, work almost every other day. So they sat around the whole week off and did nothing? Rob, you know it's different than pitching a game. Yeah, it's cool. It is different. I'm just saying. Cheap win? That's a cheap shot. Okay. That's my opinion. That's my opinion. I would have liked to have seen Boston play Colorado the day after. Not at all. I'm a fan of the sport. So here's Joe Buck on Conan O'Brien. Why don't you give it to us that Boston's red hot? What did he say? It's Joe Buck, the guy that's calling the game for Fox. So stupid. He was on the Conan O'Brien show. This was from last week, cut two. I'd like to make you an offer. Okay. I've been obsessed with the phrase, jub-jub.
For years. And when I was a Simpsons writer, I was always trying to get Jub Jub into the Simpsons. And then I finally achieved it once and got them to name Salamander on the show, Jub Jub. And ever since then, I'm obsessed with Jub Jub. I will donate. If you can work Jub Jub into the World Series, I will donate $1,000 to the charity of your choice. The only rule... caveat i have here is that you can't say now conan o'brien asked me to say jub jub no no you've got to work jub jub in it'll be a legit jub jub so here's so here's joe buck i guess uh last night and this is a week later this is him last night i guess uh or wait a minute
Oh, wait, this is actually from the game. Yeah. I think this audio is from the game. Okay, cut one. He did it. Cut one. So the forecast, cold and damp, as one of the Rockies players told me after batting practice, we were here in mid-June and it was cold and damp. That's what we expect. Our own little jub-jub, Chris Myers, playing the role of weather person. That's awesome, man. Awesome. And you know like 99% of the people watching the game have no idea what he's talking about. He's like, did he just call Chris Myers? What the hell? Conan O'Brien must have loved. Let me tell you something. The next person that we have on that we know is going to be like, you know, seen on a world stage like that. Josh Lewin. Yeah. I'm going to tell. Well, if Josh calls like a big Fox game, because every once in a while he'll get a big national Fox game. Oh, he'd do it. See, it's got to be somebody even on a bigger thing. Like the next time we get Al Michaels or John Madden, if we talk to Al Michaels or John Madden, I'll up the ante. I'll say $5,000. I'll say $5,000 to the charity of your choice. And I'll say, and by the way, make the charity of your choice these fire victims, will you? Thank you. But how great would that be?
We'll get him to say something. Like a Mikey show. Yeah, like P1 or Mixin P1 or something like that. You just can't say that that's where it came from. Say, don't tase me, bro. Exactly. Oh, that's a good one. But that is great. Let's see. I have an update. I want to give people some update. Do we, Ash? Yeah. Where did you? Oh, I see. I see. And is this, let's see. Update number two or primary one? It's FM News update number two. Got it.
I'm Mark Evans from AM600 COGO. Good news, bad news this morning. Firefighters made some progress amid favorable weather conditions yesterday, but they've still got their hands full with a mammoth Witch Creek fire affecting a large swath of the north county. Just 20% contained. The Harris fire burning south of the city near Campo is about 10% contained, so still a long way to go. President Bush is coming to town to get a first-hand look at the damage done by the wildfires over the past four days. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger expects to join Bush for an aerial tour of ravage. areas, then get a ground level look at some of the leveled neighborhoods. Three assistance centers will open in the county this week to help people displaced by the fires. I know we will have one in Fallbrook, we will have one in Ramona, and we will have one in the Rancho San Diego area. That's County Supervisor Ron Roberts. The Ramona Center will be located at the Ramona Community School, the one in Fallbrook at the community center there, the one in Rancho San Diego at Cuyamaca College, a fourth will be in Rancho Bernardo at the Glassman Recreation Center. All of the centers except Rancho San Diego. Rancho Bernardo, open seven days a week. That one will be open Monday through Friday. Escondido officials are now allowing people to reenter the area to the north of Via Rancho Parkway between the I-15 and Del Dios Highway. Areas south of Via Rancho Parkway remain closed. All other evacuated areas in Escondido are closed as well. Camp Pendleton officials want only key and essential personnel aboard Camp Pendleton today to report to work. Three fires there yesterday. I'm Mark Evans from AM600.
Rancho Bernardo residents were allowed to check on their houses yesterday, but it's kind of weird because my mother-in-law's friend Barbara, you know Barbara. Sky, you know her, right? I met her, yeah. Have you met Barbara, Eddie? I don't know that you have. I don't remember. Barbara lives in Rancho Bernardo. In fact, she just moved into a new place. The place she moved out of burned to the ground. So she just moved into a new place. They had evacuated her, and it's a place where a lot of seniors live. And they went there, and then they told them, no, we're not going to let you in after all. And she said that was a lot of... pretty angry seniors. Yeah, it was a very emotional day for people in Rancho Bernardo, because there was a lot of confusion, you know, they showed up and were told, oh, you thought you'd be able to access this, and then you're not, and then they changed it and said, okay, you can now access this part, but these certain parts are still off limits, but yeah, my mom went through the same thing going yesterday to Rancho Bernardo to check on my grandma's house, and you know, a lot of emotions, because there was a lot of devastation there.
You know it's going to happen. Every time there's a disaster, you know there's going to be people that will take advantage of the situation. And this is Sergeant Jesus Cezena, I think, Cezena, the San Diego Police Department. And he is talking about what happened at Qualcomm. Cut 35. One of the ladies that pointed him out was so upset and concerned. about what was going on that she was crying and could not stop crying because she was so concerned that someone was so disrespectful. Well, after the second or third time of loading a pickup truck twice in a car, yeah, it's a little suspicious. So they were just loading up? Yeah, they say this group made about three trips just loading up their pickup with stuff from Qualcomm. You know, stuff that was supposed to go to people who were being evacuated. Things like bottled water and blankets and supplies and whatever. And they would, like, load up their truck, take off, come back, load it up again. And then by the third time, coming back to load up for the third time, people are like, where are the people going with all this stuff? Who are these people? Why are they taking all this stuff? Because, you know, around Qualcomm right now, there's just this air of...
And that everybody is there with good intentions and that everybody who is there actually is somebody in need. And so, like I said, the third time people got suspicious, pointed out to the police. The police took the guys. One of the guys admitted that he was taking the items to sell for profit. And then another one of the guys in the group was an illegal alien. And so they called out the Border Patrol to deal with that situation. Just disgusting. I was watching TV this morning and they were saying that there were some people out there. that were there for the handouts. They weren't evacuees. They were just citizens that were there for the handouts. And what the cops started doing was saying, where were you evacuated from? Where are you from? Can I see some ID? And at that point, word started to get around to the people that were doing it. Oh, we better get out of here. So as soon as the cops started to do this, you saw people start leaving Qualcomm. Jeez. Because they started to figure out, oh, they're on to us. That we're here for the freebies. Which I'm actually split on. Well, there's a big part of me that goes, wow, it must be pretty bad in your life. And you have so little that you're willing to compromise your morals to go down and steal from people that have been evacuated. There's actually a big part of me.
That feels that like I remember one time I had to steal an egg from my brother because he wouldn't give it to me and I was hungry. I didn't have any money and I was hungry and my brother was a hard ass. And so I had to steal an egg and I went home and I scrambled the egg and it was the only thing I'd had to eat. So I remember being poor and I remember what that's like and I know that that's awful. It's awful. And so there's a big part of me that says that. Then there's another part of me that says. These people are homeless themselves. They've been burned out of their house. And so not only are they, they're worse off than you are. They're worse off than me when I needed the egg. Because when I stole the egg from my brother and took it home and scrambled it, I had a place to take it home and scramble it. And these people don't have that. So it's pretty bad. It's sad. It's too bad that it's come to that for a lot of people. Let's do this. Take a quick one. We're still doing... We're going to give you fire updates and all that. But how about we bring back a little dumb chick challenge today? How about we do a little tone-deaf karaoke today? Awesome! Don't forget, even though all this is going on, in a few days, Austin Robb is going to find out if he is the father of that kid. November 1st, we all find out.
Ashley. Do you know that on that website, www.p1site.com, that P1 Danny made for us, there's a countdown? That's awesome. Kind of like till New Year's or till like the 28-hour show and there's a countdown until we find out when Boston Rob, whether or not he's the baby's father. That's an idea that we should have had going even on our website. Exactly. It's genius. That P1, it's www.p1, the letter one, or the number one, excuse me. The letter green. www.p1, the number one. Sitesite.com. Right back. Hey, Mikey. The Mikey Show is on. I just want to say I love this show. I listen to you guys every single day. He is the honorary mayor of Transylvania. Pedro the Cricket is great.
He's the official mascot of the wireless phone company, Cricket. How's he doing? Was he displaced at all? Yeah. He was not displaced. Good. And he's actually been doing very good, and he wants to get the word out to everybody that now's the time. The last thing in the world that you need is to be dealing with what you're dealing with and still having to pay to be in contracts, all that stuff. Yeah, and the cricket plans come with unlimited texting, which was a huge help over the past couple days because they were urging people to stay off their cell phones, but letting people know that text messaging was the best way to go to get a message to a loved one because it takes up, you know, less whatever space. That's awesome. Yeah. So having the cricket phone and the unlimited texting really came in handy for me and my family over the past couple days. Unlimited picture messaging. Sky, what's the website? If you bought them online, you have to go online for your refund. If you bought them at an outlet, go back to that outlet. You have up to a year to get your refund. So if you've been evacuated, don't stress about it right now. You don't have to worry about it. You can get it later. All has been canceled. P1 Cameron is on the line. You there, Cameron? Yeah. Go ahead. Yeah, I wanted to let the people know about a website designed by a professor of mine up at University of California, Irvine, to help out the victims. It's called calfirehelp.com. And it's kind of like, you know, people are up on Craigslist right now offering their houses and stuff. It's kind of like that. You can log in and offer your house as a place to stay, or you can log in and request a place to stay. There's also a bunch of links about keeping up to date with the news and links to, you know, see how the air quality is and stuff. So it's for victims in San Diego and up in the L.A. fires. I know we're not hearing a lot about the L.A. fires, but it's for both. Okay. So I just wanted to give a shout-out. It's a neat website. It was Professor Tomlin of the UCI and about 20 students. Just put it together yesterday and launched it yesterday morning.
Okay, sounds good, man. I appreciate it, Cameron. You bet. We'll see you. This is P1 Cliff. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead, Cliff. Yeah, I've been delivering all day yesterday. I've been delivering food from the Rock Church to other churches around San Diego County because the congregations are supporting the evacuees. They're not just showing up at Qualcomm Stadium and other locations that they're turning to their churches. So I just want to let everyone know the churches. If they have their church contact, the Rock Church, we can deliver food to their church so they can support them. Okay. That sounds good, man. Thanks for the call. All right. Phone line's open, 570-1053. Information's always good. Questions are tougher because we don't always know the answer. But if you have information, we'd love to hear it. Escondido High School, we know, is in need of volunteers. And so if you would like to volunteer, Escondido High School is the place to go. And yesterday we had Jim Laslevic from NBC 739 Sports on, and he was saying that he's been doing a lot of work over at Mira Mesa High School at that evacuation site and that they need people. So what you're hearing the most about is Qualcomm. And I took stuff to Qualcomm and was turned away because they had had their fill. There are places that do not.
Mira Mesa is one of them. And Escondido High School is another one. Do you know of any other ones, Skye? I mean, you know, I would definitely, if you're near... a local evacuation shelter, you know, not the big ones, not Qualcomm because, you know, we hear there's lots of love going there. I mean, don't, you know, if you want to donate there, that's great. But if you, say, live near Miramesa High School, maybe check with them first. Or if you live in the Escondido area, check with them because I know some of the smaller shelters that aren't getting as much publicity as, say, Qualcomm or the Del Mar Fairgrounds are kind of hurting a little bit. Their volunteers have been working crazy hours. They're starting to run out of things. So definitely check with your local shelters. You know what I would love to hear from people is good, positive stories. If you have some cool stuff that happened, love to hear it. If you've seen people doing awesome things, love to hear it. I'll tell you this. I think this is great, man. Joe Rogan is going to be performing November 2nd at 4th and B, and he has decided to donate all of his profits.
to the Red Cross. Wow. I think that's so great, man. Awesome. Yeah, they say that all of Joe Rogan's profits, like Mikey said, plus a portion of the ticket sales will all go to the Red Cross to help out the Southern California fire victims. Like Mikey said, that show is November 2nd at 4th and B. Tickets are still available. You can get them at HOB.com, LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster, or the House of Blues box office. Awesome. It's a great thing. The fires are, you know, they have pretty much touched everybody's lives or somebody that you know. You know, Surge, the lead singer of System of a Down. I guess he got evacuated. Cut 28. Thankfully, we got news that they lifted the evacuation and they were able to control the fire. But that was really, really scary. And I'm praying that it all dissipates and gets done pretty fast. There's people that are losing their homes. I can't imagine. I've been thinking about that for the last 48 hours of what it would be to lose my home. And it's a tough thing. It makes you realize how many little things are irreplaceable in your life.
Here is Surge and System of a Down singing Chop Suey. Well said. Fire has affected everybody. Man, that was crazy. It really has. That worst of all. P1 Shannon. Yeah, I just wanted to add, you guys were talking about the evacuation centers that needed help. Granite Hills High School in El Cajon. Last I heard, they still needed a lot of food for the evacuees there and food and everything. So they need help there as well. Cool. Thank you. I appreciate people calling in and letting us know. If you're listening and you're like, hey, don't forget this. Don't forget that place. I'd love to hear it. I'm just not aware of it. And if I am and you make me aware of it, sure, we'll talk about it. Like last night, you know, we were having dinner.
And one of the people that we were with was upset because they're not mentioning an area that she lives in. And I'm sure it's not that, you know, they don't have anything against you. You know, it's a matter of getting information out as it's available. P1 Rude Dog. How's it going, Mikey? Good, dude. Hey, I was actually the P1 that was supposed to come in last week Friday. And what happened to you? Oh, yeah, I didn't get to tell you guys. This guy came out to my appearance on Saturday and filled me in. But go ahead, tell your story. What happened, rude dog? I got arrested at the end of the night on my birthday, breaking up a fight. Oh, no. Where were you? I was at a bar that was inside a bowling alley. Oh. That's crazy. And what happened? And there was a fight there? That's surprising. How did the fight break out? I have no idea. There was a couple people fighting and people were just kind of standing around watching it. I just, I seen what was going on. I went over to try breaking up and someone pushed me and I pushed the guy back and it turned out he was a cop. Wait a minute. The guy that you pushed, the guy that pushed you and that you pushed back was a cop? Cop, yes. Well, why is a cop pushing you?
I guess because I was trying to break up a fight or he thought I was trying to get involved in it. I have no idea, but I told him repeatedly. It's like, hey, I'm just trying to break up a fight here. Right. We'll have to reschedule with you, Rude Dog. I would greatly appreciate it. I put myself on your guys' mercy to let me come back in. Yeah. Check with your probation officer. I know. When I talked to Rube Dog on Saturday, he was like, the guys aren't pissed at me. I feel so bad. Explain to them. I don't want them to be mad at me. I feel so bad. Nah, dude. It's all good, man. You can come in some other time. All right, Rube Dog. Thanks. Hey, thanks a lot, guys. P1 Gonzo, what's up? Hey, Mikey. How's it going? Good. I just want to see if you guys can give a shout out to all the North County firefighters, man. We're out of here for a couple of days and we're pretty beat up. I bet, man. I bet you guys are so tired, man. You guys getting enough to eat and stuff like that? Yeah, we're about to get off shift right now and go get some food at base camp and take a break for 24 hours. Awesome! You know, a lady said yesterday that she brought by some food to the fire stations.
and it was for the guys to take out to the guys that were in the field. Is that a good idea? Should we be doing that? You guys can bring stuff to the fire station themselves. We possibly won't get it because we'll be on the line the whole day. But when we get back, we'll probably enjoy those treats. Oh, dude, that's a rad idea. I'm going to do that today. I'm going to do that today. Hey, thank you guys, man. Thank you for everything you're doing. You guys really are heroes, man. I was talking to Crush It More in the parking lot yesterday after I left, and that guy was brought to tears again every time he talked about the firefighters. Because the sense of appreciation and the gratefulness is overwhelming for what you guys are doing. You guys, I'm not kidding, man. You guys chose... one of the hardest things in the world to do for a living. I could never do it, bro. And thank you so much for what you're doing. Well, thanks a lot, Mike.
Just give a shout out to us, man. We appreciate everything. Right on, dude. I'm going to go to the grocery store today and pick up some cool, fun stuff. Trust me, fat guys know what's fun to eat. I'll pick up something good for you and drop it off at my local fireplace. People should do that for these guys. Just give them a treat when they get back from working the line. Something fun to eat and something cool. It'll taste good. Thanks, man. I appreciate it. All right. We'll see you guys. All right, man. We'll talk to you later. All right. Real quickly. When we come back, let's do something called the Dumb Chick Challenge. Oh, yeah. We need this. Yes, this is where Sky, Ashley, and we need a female listener to call that is dumb. Northbound 805, a little tight coming up here through North Park. You do have an accident to watch for here. It's eastbound 78, just past Rancho Centipede Road, blocking the fast lane. So watch for a bit of a slowdown there. South 15, a little tight here through Rancho Bernardo in the construction area. Other than that, you've just got the closures to be aware of. West Bernardo Drive off-ramps from both sides of the 15 are shut down.
You've got the 67 northbound closed at Poway Road up in Ramona, and the 94 is still closed as well from Steel Canyon up to Forest Gate. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. I disagree. I don't believe you can dream on demand about somebody. I believe that it's possible to dream about somebody, but not if you decide to. What is that? You know how to hold me just right. You know what I mean? Like what? Dudes like to cuddle or what? Yeah, that is confusing. Why is he saying that this girl knows how to hold him just right? I think we know what that means. It's like walking on air. Okay, gotcha. Wouldn't have figured that one. I didn't get that one. Oh, no. I'm Dan Hartman didn't do a lot after. Why not? He was good. He really didn't. Very Huey Lewis-y. He just kind of went into obscurity after that. It sucks. One of the headlines from entertainment today is Pam Anderson is a cokehead. All right. Well, I guess the fire update this hour is... Go back. Whoa.
What do you know, Skye? Well, a former Hollywood publicist did an interview where she was asked about what's going on with Pam Anderson and her, you know, real quickie, last-minute wedding, what's going on. And the former Hollywood publicist says, basically, Pam Anderson is out of control, and if she doesn't do something about it, she's going to die soon. The former publicist talks about three to four days a week coke binges, and there isn't a day that's... gone by in the past four to five years of knowing her that she hasn't seen Pam sober. Wow. Not good. Dumb Chick Challenge coming up in just a second. P1 Brew, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What would you like to say, Brew? I just want to say that I'll be willing to donate 50 bucks for each person. They can actually figure out what Ashley's singing on Tone Death Karaoke. Yeah, we're going to be doing Tone Deaf later on in the show. I think that's great. That's nice of you. That's very cool. And so, Brew, I'm going to put you on hold. We'll get your information. When we play Tone Deaf, we'll call you back. And we'll see how much you'll be donating to the Red Cross. Hang on, okay? That's a great idea. Very cool. What a great gentleman. Yeah, I like it a lot. Wow. In what may prove to be a veritable inutile exercise in the substantiation of mental acumen, The Mikey Show presents...
A somewhat gelastic moiety called the Dumb Chick Challenge. The Dumb Chick Challenge. I mean, really, with the school closures, don't you think that that should apply to this as well? I think, you know, this is kind of like... School closures and what? Well, this is kind of like my... I equate this to being a pop quiz. Like, when this comes up, I'm at school and a pop quiz has just been scheduled. That is certainly one way to think about it. That's the way I view it. So since schools are closed and the kids don't have to do their quizzes. Yeah, but this isn't canceled. The Mikey Show is not canceled.
Oh, we should do that. Well, it's only one way to think about it. Another way to think about it is that it's tremendously funny to listen to you guys not be able to answer questions. Yeah, because you're dumb. You're dumb. The way that we do it is... You're a dumb chick. No, I'm not a name. Your red shirt and your dumb chick stuff. Yeah, you tell them, Skye. It's not the smart chick challenge, though, you guys. I'm not in it. You're right. Yeah, you and all your makeup. If I participated in it, then I would be a dumb chick. And your dresses. But I don't participate, and you are the dumb chick. Tell them, Skye. Yeah. Because you don't have a brain. All right, let's do it like this. Who's attacking who? You're a bastard. We'll have people call in right now. He said no offense, Ashley. We'll have people call in and pick either Skye, Ashley, and we'll have one girl play for herself. So let's start with P1. Chelsea, Chelsea, who do you want? Skye or Ashley? I'm going to have to go with Skye, I suppose. Oh, there you go. Don't sound so excited. Stupidest game ever. Hang on the line. Well, too bad. I hate that. I'm sorry, Chelsea. P1 can't get right. P1 can't get right. Are you there? Yes, I am. All right, tell everybody what a P1 is, please. A P1 is somebody who gets to the point, doesn't curse, and listens to the show all day long. They do not curses. Does not curse. That is correct. That is correct. So, P1 can't get right. You get Ashley. Yes, I did. Yes, so hang on the line, okay? That's right.
I don't. You are an interesting person. Yes. And then P1 Quimby will be playing for herself. Oh, no. What up? Quimby. What up? Quimby. When Quimby was in here the last time and she laughed, I noticed somebody enjoys some cigarettes every now and then. Quimby. Quimby. Quimby, what do you smoke? Marlboro Lights. I'm going to take a guess. I believe that you are a Marlboro light smoker. I say cigars. What is it, Quimby? P-Funk Lights. P-Funk Lights. Not red apples? Yeah, you don't do the red apples? Oh, delicious. Oh, they're great. Oh my gosh, I just watched that movie last night. Did you really? Oh yeah. What did you think? I liked Planet Terror Death Proof. It was like Quentin Tarantino was talking the whole time. Yeah, that is true. That is 100% true. In fact, Sean, I think when I called you on the phone and we talked about it, I think I said that exact sentence. Yeah, yeah. That it's like you're having to listen to Quentin Tarantino talk for two hours. Yeah, very true. But there's some pretty cool visuals. All right, Quimby, you're going to be playing for yourself. And last time, Quimby started. And so Sky starts this time. No, no, no, no.
We'll begin with Quimby. Okay, Quimby, we're going to start with you. What do you want? A one, two, or three-point question? I'll feel it out and take a two. You got it. Ah, feel it. Here is your question. What's the nickname for the British flag? Oh. The nickname for the British flag. Wait. Wait. I'm waiting. Waiting for it. Is it called the Union Jack? That is correct. Wow. Good job, Quimby. Wow. That is impressive. Good. It is impressive. Wow. You know what I think of every time I think of the Union Jack? What the hell? I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell. You know, the only thing is that Joe Elliott, the lead singer of Def Leppard, you can't hit those notes the same way. What's up, guys?
Quimby, congratulations. You have two points on the board. Skye, would you like a one, two, or three-point question? I think I will go with a two-pointer. Come on, Skye. Skye, I believe you know the answer to this question. Oh, I hope so. What state is known as the Garden State? Easy. Oh, there's circuits firing. Uh-oh. I see circuits firing. There's a smile. That's the movie ever. She's looking off into space. Is that the smoke from the fires or her brain? Yes, it's coming out of her ears. Oh, boy. Definitely smoke. That's right. Oh, gosh. I think I know it. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. That'll be embarrassed if I'm wrong. At New Jersey. That is correct. Sky, that was like jumping in the pool, right? Like, you know, you're going to get... You just got to do it. Oh, my God. Eddie, stop. That's correct.
Eddie, he is throwing signs. He's a tough coach. He's throwing signs at Ashley. What will she take? A one, two, or three point question? Lighten up on the girl. He's telling me to steal third. I don't know if I can, but... You better listen to him. I believe she said... You're going to do great. You're going to get this. Give me a three, guys. Exactly. Thank you. You do good on the threes. Sometimes she does. All right, your question. Okay, Eddie. Eddie, leave her alone. She's not focusing. She's doing other stuff. Her ADDs take over. Go. All right, Ashley. What is the... Now, you've got to listen to the whole question. Ah, come on. As opposed to half the question. Well, sometimes you jump too quickly. All right. Really absorb it. Okay. Ashley, what is the name of the warming event in the Pacific Ocean that changes weather climates in the western United States? What is the name of the warming event?
in the Pacific Ocean that changes weather events, weather climates in the western United States. What is that called? That changes the weather climates in the... Western United States. You can see her. She doesn't have any... There's no smile on her face. She's just staring straight ahead. Not even really staring at me, just staring straight ahead. She's thinking. Okay. Can you say it one more time? What is the name of the warming event in the Pacific Ocean that changes weather climates in the western United States? I know this. You do. I know, I know. It's, like, I know this. I believe you know this. It's like she gets maced in the eyes. She's blinking, like her eyes are watering. Trying to clear it out of the eyes. But they won't let her use her hands to clear the mace out of her eyes. She's just kind of blinking. What makes it worse? You know, it's... Oh, boy. Don't cry. Come on. You know, like when the runoff from your apartment reaches the ocean. It's like the... Not right now, Mike. I mean, I don't even... You know what I'm saying? When what? It's that thing. It's that thing. It's that thing. So... You're going to confuse her. Leave her alone. Ashley, what is the name of the warming event?
In the Pacific Ocean that changes weather climates in the western United States. What's that called? What's that called? I can't think of it, so I don't know. Yeah, guess. I will guess the riptide. I know that's not it. No, that's not right. What is it? Tell me, because I know it already. It's called El Nino. Oh, I didn't know that. El Nino. El Nino. No, El Nino. El Nino. El Nino. Wasn't that a hurricane? Wasn't that a... Sky, did you know El Nino? Yes. Yeah, I thought so. What's up with that? P1 Quimby. Sky. What do you want? A one, two, or three? What is she... No, I think... No, listen.
Honestly, I think that that's one that a lot of people know here in California. We're all affected by El Nino. It was just her tone. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to have a tone, but I just remember. Best up for next year. I just remember living in San Jose and my neighborhood flooded because it was El Nino year. Passive aggressive shot with the whole flood thing. Tell her about when you flooded your place. You guys are the worst. You guys are dicks. Share your flood story. Scott, did you lose your digital camera at that point too? She was not taking a shot there. I just got that. So Eddie's going to take a shot at Ashley and then point at me. Because of what you said. You just called her El Drunko. Okay, yes you did. That was the name of... Her. Yeah. What? Teflop it is. Teflop. You guys are dicks. Oh, my God. You are awful. Wow. You're terrible. You are the worst. I used to mean... Hey, look who's getting some more FaceTime on the Today Show. ...from our San Diego affiliate. KNSD is at a center where residents can get help. Mari, good morning to you. And I understand the center opened about half an hour ago. That's right, Meredith. Ah, it's the old delay. Oh, no, the delay. The old delay coming in.
There's people lining up right now. As you know, Rancho Bernardo was one of the hardest hit areas in San Diego County. Almost 500 homes were destroyed here. Now, this can be an overwhelming process, rebuilding people's lives, but people are here to help, and that's why they are here. They've opened up this center. Representatives at this assistance center will help people piece back their lives. Federal, state, county, and city agencies will be here offering advice and financial assistance. They'll also tell people how to file insurance. insurance claims, get building permits, but it is expected to be a very, very long day here. Meredith? Look at that. A little national stuff. All right, it's over to you, Quimby. A one, two, or three-point question. Let's go with another two. Another two. Interesting. You got it. Interesting. In the Hans Christian Andersen story, what tiny item did the princess feel through a stack of mattresses? Wasn't it the princess and the pea? So your answer is? The pea. You are correct. Wow, Quimby. You are correct. Killing it. Also, what Skye felt on her back after her sunburn. You did not, Eddie. Wow. You only need one more point, Quimby. Wow. You only need one more point. Yeah, on the board. Eddie. You only need one more point, Quimby, to take the game. And over to you, Skye.
Skye, would you like it? Skye looks like she's in shock. Skye, I don't understand why after every time Eddie takes a shot at me, he pretends like he's putting his pen to his tongue to wet his pen, and then he pretends like he's writing something. It's the same concept as Brian Gumbel. It's a distraction. It's a distraction. That's right. People are going to be asking, so what is Eddie writing down? So is that supposed to distract me? So instead of going, oh, Eddie just insulted me, I'm going, gosh, I wonder what he's writing. Exactly. So what were you writing? I keep a log of my insults. That must be a pretty long log. That's what she said. Oh, my. You can put that one on the board. That was good. Skye, one, two, or three-point question. I guess I'm going to have to try a three to beat out Quimby. Yeah, you can close a game out if you get this right. Yeah. All right. Thank you. We ruined it. I'm sorry, Skye. We ruined it. Okay, Sean. No.
Wait. What? What just happened? Yeah, Skye. Skye. Can we please? Sean. You can't hear that we've already heard it. We already heard it. All right, Skye. What does the B in LBJ stand for? The B in LBJ. Look at what she's thinking. Now she's laughing. What's the point? Then she laughed. Why do you even try? I know she's got it. No chance. She's got to work it out on paper. She's writing something on paper. Not the right answer. It's not a math problem. Whenever I make his signature, I always have to write it. I've got my abacus here in my pocket. I don't know. I'm just going to guess. Well, wait. Write it out first before you take a guess. Well, I just did, Jerky. Benjamin. That's incorrect. Oh, wow. Bartholomew. Did you write Benjamin down? No. What did you write down? What are you writing? I don't know. That's what I wrote. Well, I wanted to get the L and the J to make sure that I was thinking of the right person, which I'm still not sure I am. Who did you think it was? That was not the question, Eddie. The answer is Baines. Baines. Lyndon Baines Johnson. Who did you think it was? That's what I wrote. Lyndon Baines Johnson.
Baines. No one would have got Baines. Ashley. Yes. Would you like a one, two, or three point question? She's looking at her coach. What does a coach want her to do? He's giving her a look. Oh, he just gave her the... I'm still waiting for her to tell me. Did she just say, give me the flu, guys? Yes. No, no, no. Three. Oh, a three. Give me a three. Oh. Damn the flu. Yes, please. No, I do not want the flu. All right, Ashley, your question is, in 1912... Uh-oh. Anything before I was born... Pass. Pass. Pass. It's already not going on. I wasn't alive! I know I can't. It affects your personal life. It does not affect your personal life. It does. It affects your personal life. It doesn't, though. That's the thing. How you answer this question will affect your personal life.
How does it affect me lying on my couch? It affects your dating. Lying on my couch, eating my yogurt, watching my reality TV, which is all I do. You get this right. Every hot guy in the county will want to be with you. You ready? If not, they'll all hate you. Yeah, if not, they don't want anything to do with you. Don't put that evil on her. Great. But he did it to the Red Sox, Dave. Come on. In 1912. Pass. No. Seriously. The crew of the Carpathia helped assist the survival. Go to the next one. Just go to the next one. Why do you even waste your time anymore? That's so mean. Ash, come on. Hear the question out. This is mean. In 1912, the crew of the Carpathia helped assist the survivors of what nautical disaster? Think about it. Nautical disaster? That is correct. That's like in the air, right? Another disaster. Nautical disaster.
Do you know what the word nautical means? I'm betting she knows. This is what I don't know about that question. I don't know what the F happened in 1912, period. I don't know what the clue of Carnishatia or whatever the hell that is. And I sure as hell don't know what nautical is. So how the hell am I supposed to answer that? Where do I even go from there? Come on. Disaster. You're asking me about a disaster. Think about it. In 1912, the crew of the Carpathia helped assist the survivors of what nautical disaster? As far as she's concerned, dude, she thinks like the dinosaurs were around in 1912. No offense. None taken. Why wouldn't he be taken? This is actually a very easy question. It's an extremely... Now, it would help if you knew a couple of key words. Yeah. I don't, that's the thing. I know, I know. I don't know anything. That's the thing. I mean, what does 1912 mean? Leave it alone. What is stuff? Don't know and don't care if we're being honest. What's a survivor? Richard Hatch? I don't know.
I don't even know anything about that. Save that clip. Save that clip. You will save that clip of you saying, I don't know anything. I will not. And Zeth, you will not know. Zeth, you will put it on the board. You will put it on the board and you will send it to me as well. Yes, send it to Sean so that he can play that clip. Over and over. Can I tell her what Nautical means? No, that will give away the entire thing. It will? Yes. Well, then I have nothing. You have no possible answer. Just guess. Think about a disaster. Think about a disaster. I don't know. I don't know. She doesn't know. She sounds deflated, too. But I think she does know. Can't she take a guess? I can't even think of anything right now, guys.
even want to know the only thing I can think of. I do want to. I do want to know. You don't. It could be right. It's really bad. What if it's right? It's right. It could be. It's it. It's the answer. It's the flood when Noah built the ark. That's all I have. Now, I can't believe that you believe that that happened in the year 1912. That's the only... I beg to differ. This is the truth. That is the only disaster I can think of that happened. But could it have happened then? Could that have happened in 1912? That was a big one in the 9-11. But I know that that's not the answer. That's why I said I don't know. But there's got to be a disaster besides the floods. Her academic career. Think about it. Can you hear what you just said? Well, besides 9-11 and... The events leading up to the floods for Noah and the Ark. I got it. The Great Chicago Fire. Was that the nautical? Ash just has her head down right now. I feel bad. That was really mean, Rob. What about that comet that wiped out the dinosaurs? You're such a jerk. Why is he being so mean to her when she's down, man? The answer is the Titanic. Nautical means water. Okay. Get out of here.
And then who's the crew of the... Carpathia. Croatia. No, the... Croatia. In 1912, Ash, the crew of the Carpathia, which was another boat... Okay. They helped assist the survivors of the Titanic, a nautical disaster. Okay. That's all making sense now. She got it now. Yeah. Great. This is the sound happening right now in Ashley's brain. You need to know that that will improve my personal life. Me knowing that now. It will. What a dummy. I knew that. Everybody knew that. James Cameron's like, I have no idea for a movie. New disaster film. Quimby, you can end the game right now. Please do it. With a one point question. Do it. What plant from the cactus family can help alleviate the sting of sunburn? I got it. I got it. Is it urine? The urine plant.
I grow some in my backyard. Yeah. By backyard, I mean mother. Yeah. In a mister bottle. Shut up. Like, give me the answer so we can wrap this up. Great game today. Does pill paste come from a cactus? Shut up, Maze. Or a spray bottle. Quimby, please give your answer. Please, Quimby. Okay. The wasn't really that big of a deal plant. I got it. The drama plant. Is there a plant called the crocodile tear? What about the overreaction cactus? What about the didn't feel like working that day plant? Eddie. Scientific name overreactus gohomus. Quimby. Hey, for the record, those were all fictitious cactuses. Oh, they were? Not that last one, dude. You can't use those as the real one. So, again, what plant from the cactus family can help alleviate the sting of sunburn? Can we phone someone and call Kaiser? No, that'd be unfair. Oh, no, Sky. Quimby? Oh, no, Sky just shot Rob a look. Get him, Sky.
Oh, she just shot Rob a look that hurt. I mean, he winced and turned from it. Like a sunburn. Second degree look right there. He burned a second degree hole in it. A second degree look. Get the mister. Get the mister. Quimby's not answering because she's loving all of it. Come on, Quimby. Quimby, what is it? I'm going with aloe vera. That is correct. Get up, Quimby. Good job, Quimby. Eddie, what did Quimby win? We have entries to the big Texas Hold'em tournament that I will be hosting coming up on November 27th at Harris. Quimby, hang on the line. We have more fire updates coming up for you next. Okay, I'll tell you what. The Mikey Show will be right back. Go ahead and see if we can.

The third time we filter it, almost all of the impurities have been removed, creating a beer of remarkable clarity and pure golden color. We then cold filter it for the fourth and final time. Now more of the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. The show members refer to me as Memento because I can't remember anything. Eddie. I feel like I'm a responsible guy. Sky. I'm a social eater. Sean. I like it when the Indian dude at the convenience store calls me boss. Boston Rob. I have a claim to be a genius. And Ashley. I can't even imagine my life without water. 5-3. Welcome back. It's 8 o'clock. The sheriff says that they have found two dead bodies in a fire-gutted home near Poway. The decision on the Chargers game should be determined by today. Signs are pointing to having the game at Qualcomm. Hey, Mikey, I was wondering if you could ask Rob a question for me. If he had to choose between the Red Sox winning the World Series or not being the father of his supposed child, which would he choose? Wow. Impossible question. Red Sox too much. I'd have to say World Series. Oh, come on. Is that messed up? Oh. Holy. Idiot. So.
A couple of months of celebrating versus 18 years of a responsibility. Is that messed up? Let's see, what else I got for you? I think we have a new update. Let's get an update on the fire. I'm Mark Evans from AM600 COGO. The Office of Emergency Services held a news meeting this morning. Sheriff Bill Collender said that two people were found dead in Poway. Mike Workman from OES says not to let your guard down. After evacuation orders are lifted, you never know when these fires can turn around. Once they do let us all go back in, keep an eye and ear still because these fires could turn around like they did in 2004. And, you know, last time they did, they ran back up towards Julian. So I want to turn your back on it. You know, it's time to get past what we have, help our neighbors rebuild and get going. But be mindful of this situation. And the big picture isn't over yet as far as these fires burning.
Today the focus will be on repopulation, they call it, so people can get back into their homes. Six Mexicans here illegally were arrested Wednesday at Qualcomm Stadium for stealing food and water meant for evacuees. San Diego police say they got a call about a theft from the evacuation center. Saw six men loading food and water into a van. Police say none of the men spoke English. None of them had California driver's licenses. The California Independent System operator said San Diego's major east-west electric transmission line has returned to service after being knocked out by a wildfire. reducing the threat of rolling blackouts across Southern California. Amtrak resumes Pacific surf liner service between San Juan Capistrano and San Diego this morning. Early morning trains also will make all Metrolink stops to accommodate those passengers. President Bush on his way to San Diego to get a first-hand look at devastation from this week's wildfires. It's a sad situation out there in Southern California. I'm Mark Evans from AM600 COGO. This one's subject is comedy show at Qualcomm. Hey Mikey, last night about 10 comics and myself held a benefit comedy show at Qualcomm at 8.30 at night between gate C and D. It was awesome how us comics got together and made the evacuees laugh and forget about their problems for a couple of hours. It was a great experience going up on stage. After I performed, I was thanked by an evacuee who lost his home and he told me how I made him laugh. It felt good. But all credit goes to God and the ability he's given me. Thanks for your time. Signed P1, San Diego's very own. P1, who's the man?
Jesus! People at the Rock Church getting that one. Eddie got this one. This is pretty cool. Comfort Inn and Suites Zoo slash SeaWorld has some breaks going on for standard rooms. $49 to the standard room. Yeah, I think they have three different properties here in San Diego that are offering the fire relief rate. Okay, yeah. Comfort Inn and Suites Zoo slash SeaWorld. Comfort and Suites Hotel Circle and Comfort and Suites Mission Valley. Yeah, they say please call if you're interested in getting the fire relief rate for any of those rooms. Call 1-800-835-6043 and make sure you mention the fire relief rate. We've got to mention again, Boo Ball canceled. It was going to be at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and as we know, that's being used. So, it's not going to be there anymore.
Refunds at point of purchase. If you bought them online, you have to go online for your refund. If you bought them at an outlet, please go back to that outlet. You have up to a year to get the refund, so if you got evacuated, don't worry about it. You're going to be fine. Maria Shriver says that she's not going to go back to news, and you're seeing her a lot right now because Schwarzenegger's been talking a lot, but she says the reason she's not going back is because of the coverage of the Anna Nicole Smith death, and maybe it kind of creeped her out. Yeah, the way the media covered it. She was speaking in California to a conference of women, and she was talking about the media circus surrounding Anna Nicole Smith's death. And she said, quote, it was then that I knew that the TV news business had changed, and so had I. I called NBC News and told them I'm not coming back. Yeah, you know, it was weird. It was creepy. It was super weird. I mean, TMZ is run by CNN, and you know how weird that site is, man. I mean, it's not about the reporting, but it's also about just weirdness. Speaking of weirdness, Brittany and Kayfed start parenting classes together. Yeah, they just had their first one yesterday. And then they have a court appearance later in the week, right?
Yeah, which is weird because they were ordered to do these parenting without conflict classes. Gosh, when was that? Two, three weeks ago when the judge handed down all the rules, I mean, about her doing the drug testing and whatever. That was one of the things they needed to do before coming back to court on Friday, which is now tomorrow. And so they did their first class together yesterday. How would you like to be a fly on the wall on that? Oh, man. Like hearing him. Talk all hip hop and hearing her twanging. And trying to teach them healthy ways to communicate with each other. Yes. Good luck. And hearing, you know, I would love a videotape of it. The whole thing. Ellen DeGeneres and Porsche DeRozzi are over. Yeah, they're over. What? Because of the dog? They've broken up. What? That's crazy. They're no longer together. There is no hope in Hollywood. And knows who can't make it. Then who can't make it? Right? First Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Then Shaq and his wife. Now Ellen. Really? That's the order that it went? That was the order? Totally. So you're saying that it was Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Yes, because they were like the couple. They were like the big couple, right? So in love. Seven years. We're all reeling from that. And then Shaquille O'Neal.
This is what you're saying. Well, I watched him on Cribs and I just remember they have like five beautiful kids and they seem so in love and they seem like they've been together forever. So that one rocked your world. I was really upset. And now this. Well, you know, they haven't confirmed it themselves, so there's still a chance that it's just, yeah, there's still a little bit of hope out there, Ashley. But yeah, Ellen and Portia have been together for three years, and they say that the reason Ellen was so emotional over this dog thing and actually broke down was more about her relationship with Portia deteriorating than actually the dog issues. Oh, that's sweet. That's really nice, by the way. What do you mean? Well, you know, I wasn't really... Like, the whole dog thing, whatever. Yeah, well, she's not saying that. Sources are saying that, you know, the turmoil at home added to the issues with the dog just made her kind of have that mental breakdown. Who wore the pants? Ellen or Portia? Duh. Come on. They both did. No. No way. No. Well, yeah, Ellen is the... Ellen always wears pants. Literally. Ellen was like... Yeah, and she was like the girl in...
Ellen was the guy. So, Porsche was the girl. Very feminine. Yeah. And Ellen was the dude. Well, they're both technically feminine. It's just sad because on her show, like, they showed them together and they're so cute. They're so in love. Well, maybe it's a lie, Ash. Really? Maybe it's just haters trying to get down. I almost cried. Don't cry. Don't. No, no, no. I'm going to cry. Please don't cry. I almost cried. come out of my eyes. There's still hope for love out there, Ashley. Don't let this discourage you. Just in Hollywood, I just don't see any hope in Hollywood. Or for me, if we're going to be on it. I don't disagree with that. Please don't. I'll crush it. Take out an ad for crying out loud. It's valuable airtime. I don't even know what that means. Just keep wearing tops like that. What, like a commercial? Hello, I'm Ashley from the Mikey Show. And right now, for a very limited time, I am single. And so... So like a commercial spot. Yeah, like a commercial, yeah. I should talk to Christian about that. Yeah, he'll work out a nice rate for you. Can you endorse me, Mikey? Yeah, I'll do the endorsement. Yeah, so every once in a while, come on, I'll be like, Hey, P1s, what's going on? It's Mikey. And I just wanted to let you know, a real good friend of mine is Ashley, and she is single right now. Now, people will tell you she's crazy, right? And that is true. But let me tell you something.
She's gorgeous, and she's working on it. So. Try us at the drop of a hat. That's right. All right, 30 seconds. So, myspace.com slash crazyash and YouTube. Whoa. You're a D. Whoa. Whatever. She's the best. Don't cry. All right, so I've been hearing about this, so I need to hear it for myself because I haven't heard the actual audio. I've just heard of the audio. Apparently, George Carlin went off on the California fires. On The View. Now, before you play it, I will say this. George Carlin is nuts. Yeah. George Carlin is nuts, but he's really funny. And he even mixes in his nuttiness with his funniness. Like in his act, a lot of his act is like his opinions on stuff. And they're very extreme and they're kind of crazy. And they're so extreme and crazy, they're funny. But one thing that he talked about one time in one of his stand-ups that I actually agreed with that was real crazy was this whole, and Sean would disagree vehemently, but this whole thing about germs. And everybody, why don't you just get over it? When he was a kid, he used to swim in the Hudson River and drink gallons full of it. And it was the most polluted, disgusting river in America. And he was able to grow up and be fine.
I just want to preface the clip with, I don't know what he's about to say. I know the context, I mean the content, but I don't really know what he's going to say. Just know, he's crazy. Cut 25. There's a thing in there called, the planet is fine, it's in the jam in New York. The planet is fine, the people are... Because everybody's running around trying to save the planet. The planet doesn't need that. The planet will take care of itself. People are selfish, and that's what they're doing, is trying to save the planet for themselves to have a nicer place to live. They don't care about the planet, in theory. They just care about having a comfortable place. And these people with the fires... Well, we'll get to that right now, but he's right so far. He's right. We really don't care about the planet. If we all get together and we want to do something about global warming, it's not because we care about that gorgeous planet. We want to make sure that our kids and ourselves are more comfortable. And that means global warming needs to stop. If Mars was inhabitable and we were able to live there and move there, we would use up this planet in a heartbeat and just move to a new one. Right. Yeah. If we knew that we could go to Earth 2. Yeah.
We'd go to Earth, too. And you know what we would do when we got there? Start screwing it up. Unpause. They just care about having a comfortable place. And these people with the fires and the floods and everything, they overbuild, they put nature to the test, and they get what's coming to them. That's what I say. That's what's happening. And I can't wait for the sea levels to rise. I can't wait for some of these cities to do something. I can't swim, George. There are places that are going to go away, the map is going to change, and that's because the real nature... People think nature is outside of them. They don't take into them the idea that we are part of it. They say, oh, we're going for a nature walk. We're going to the country because we like nature. Nature's in here, and if you're in tune with it, like the Indians, the Hopis especially, the balance of life, the balance, the harmony of nature, if you understand that, you don't overbuild.
You don't do all this moron stuff. There are too many people... What about the polluters? Let's go after that. The polluters, the corporations, they pollute. It's a symphony. Everybody's in the band, you know? It's not just one group. Yeah, nobody deserves it, Georgie Porgie Puttin' Pie. Oh, that's a little extreme, buddy. Nobody deserves it, and yes, we consume, and so do you, and blah, blah, blah. It's so easy to point from that mansion you live in. Everybody consumes, man. But I wonder if he was evacuated, if he would still be saying that we all deserve it. It's true, right? Mm-hmm. Come on. I mean, hey, George, you live in New York. I know he lives in New York. You deserved 911. The reason that 9-11 happened is because of our excess as Western... As a Western civilization, didn't we know that zealots in other parts of the world were going to think we were nuts for having things like Britney Spears and get angry because it stands against everything they believe in? So we deserved it, right? Oh, come on, bro. Eddie's shaking his head. Yeah, it's probably what he believes. All right. Let's take a quick one. And when we come back, you know what we haven't even talked about? Bush is in town today. We got to get into that.
Tone Deaf Karaoke still coming up. And a P1 listener called in and said that every person that gets Tone Deaf Karaoke right, he'll donate $50 to the American Red Cross. Wow. We're going to be making some money today, Mikey. Let's hope. We don't know about that. Oh, that's... Come on, haven't they suffered enough? Come on, get it, Eddie. I don't want to. Wait a minute. So last year, we went to this place in Guadalajara. It was this random little place off the beaten path. We went to a place around there, too. Yeah, they had taquitos just like these. Full of flavor, good texture. What are these, Delimix? Yeah, the place we went had taquitos like these, too. Wait, did this place have a really big fish tank in the middle? Yeah, and the tortillas were pressed and grilled right on the spot. You know, these Delimix taquitos taste a lot like that. Right. Oh, they were stuffed with this really tender shredded beef, just like these Delimix. Remember the mariachi band? Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Well, the ride around the town is looking pretty good right now. Actually, pretty quiet as it has in the last few days because of the fires here. There was an accident eastbound side of the 78 Rancho Santa Fe Road. Kind of slowed your ride a little bit in that direction. But that's pretty much been cleared now and things are moving smoothly once again through the area.
Other than that, though, it's a nice-looking ride, except for just the closures remain in place. We've got the off-ramps to Mission Road closed down off the 15 of both directions. Also, the West Burnett Drive off-ramps closed out from 15. Poway Road is shut down. Well, actually, the northbound 67 at Poway Road into Ramona. Wildcat Canyon Road northbound from Willows Road up to San Vicente. Southbound of the Wildcat Canyon Road, though, that is open to you right now. On the 94, that is closed off from Steel Canyon to Forest Gate. It looks like the 76 has been reopened to residents here heading into Fall Brick. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show. Hey, people, I'm Brad. What's up, Brad? I went to Sleep Frame, got myself one of the freaking nicest mattresses there. They gave me it for less than half-size. What kind of mattress? I got the Sturgeon Foster Silver Dream. That's the one I have. That thing is supposed to be like $69.95 or something. No. I think I got it out the door $28.50. I got it for $3,200, and then somebody else at another store beat my price, so they came back and beat it by 5%. Damn. That's nice. And they gave me free mattress cover, free pillow cover. What size did you get, a twin, or what did you get? I got the California King. Oh, you big pimp. Ashley's in. Oh, dude, it's pretty comfortable, huh?
I'm still waiting to get it. I have a roommate that's moving out soon that's going to go in that room. Oh, it's the greatest bed ever. That's the mattress I sleep on. It was so freaking comfortable at the showroom. Yeah, did you get in there and take a nap and take pictures? We love you, Brad. Thank you, Brad. We'll see you. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios is the official home of the Mikey Morning Show. I heard that he can crack steel walnuts with his buttocks cheeks. You heard that? Or did you see it? I don't know. K-I-O-Z San Diego's Rock 5-3. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I am extraordinarily sensitive to Keith. Eddie. I'm a married man. Sky. Thank you. Sky. There's girl in the air. Welcome back to the show. It is 823. Police say a group of illegal immigrants were stealing donated items from Qualcomm, and then they would try to resell them. Well, if the Falcons didn't have enough problems, Byron Lefkowitz had to have surgery on his ankles, going to miss two weeks, and D'Angelo Hall ripped the Falcons for releasing Grady Jackson. That's a good song. Oh, that's right. That suddenly made it. Awesomer. That's a real word. He thought it was creepy. Buffalo Bill wrote an email that said, hey, that dance this guy did really freaked me out. Signed, Buffalo Bill. He did. It was lyrical. Beautiful. Thank you, Ashley. She had very dramatic eye makeup on that day. No. There was a lot of stuff working. That's right.
So Bush is in town today. Has he even landed yet? Well, he's scheduled to arrive at 930 at Miramar. So in about an hour, he should be arriving in Miramar. Wow. Yeah, so they say he'll take an aerial tour of the area with the governor, and then he will visit an undisclosed neighborhood. Lookit, there's President Bush flying over San Diego right now with his wings out. That's weird. Nice. Just like Superman. That's right. And then after... The neighborhood tour, he will then eat lunch with a group of firefighters. Where? At In-N-Out? It doesn't say. You might as well. You're not going to get that back in D.C. Rubio's. Yeah, Rubio's. Rubio's is good, too. Well, listen, I think it's pretty cool that the president's going to be in town. I'm actually here right now. Whoa! Oh, you're early! We do that to throw people off, you know, terrorists and whatnot. All right. You mean to say... That you're saying that you're going to be here in an hour, but you've been here already. I'm here. Hello. You're looking at me. Hey. Looking good, Pres. There he is. Ladies and gentlemen, it's the president of the United States. Oh, wow. It's President George W. Bush, who, by the way, I don't know if you know this, is being criticized. What? Why? What'd you do now? Well, he's being criticized because a lot of people are saying it's a little late. Like, it's already Thursday. Most of the fires have really calmed down.
You know, Schwarzenegger was here right away. He was in the thick of it. He got to see how bad it was. And here's Bushy showing up all late to the party when the air is nice now. Yeah, sorry, Miguel. Sorry it took me so long. I'm still trying to work on my new iPod Nana. It's Nano. Say what? I hope it's pronounced the iPod Nano. Oh, I thought it was so easy your Nana could work it. Oh, no. I just got Carrie Underwood on there. What up? What up? I mean, her new CD is really good. Really, though, I'm just addicted to Fish and Master 2007 on the Wii. So that's what you've been doing. I can't seem to win my way out of the canto tourney, though. It's hard. What up? What up? So that's why you weren't here right away, because you're playing a fishing game on your week. Nah, man. I was just kidding about that other stuff. Oh, good. I am sorry I didn't arrive sooner, but in all honesty, I was working out a new strategy for the war in Iraq. Really, President Bush? That's good. Tell us about it. Well, I'm glad you asked, sir. Michaelito? I was playing Halo 3 and figuring out...
How we can use their technology for our war. That's a video game. Video game. It's not real. Isn't it ironic that the dude is called Master Chief and I'm the Commander-in-Chief? What does that even mean? Isn't that ironic? How is that ironic? I'm not familiar with the game. Atlantis. What up? I just keep saying what up. Maybe because he's in San Diego. Keeping it real. Keeping it real. You know if PB was affected? I don't think so. It actually was not. I heard there's a killer band at Cane's this weekend. You heard that there's a killer band at Cane's. That's not true, probably. There's not a band at Cane's. That's what I heard. I don't know. It's irrelevant to the crisis at hand. They're really all killer when it's just loud and proud. As long as it isn't telequeer. They're sellouts. What are you talking about? You know what I'm saying? What up? Metallica? What up? Metallica queer and their sellouts. Old black album. What up? What up? Hey, I got a call from the cyborg on Sunday. The cyborg? You mean Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yeah, him. I was catching up on season one of Eight Simple Rules. Hey.
And he called, so I was already mad when he answered. Wait a minute. I don't like to be disturbed. So you were watching Eight Simple Rules. It's a good show. You know, it's got Jack What's-His-Face on it. No, his real name's not Jack. He played the Tinkerbell on Three's Company. His real name's John Ritter. Yeah, John Ritter, not Jack. Yeah, him. When that crazy German called me, I was watching that. Schwarzenegger's Austrian. Oh, okay, well, good day, mate. What up? No, that's not one. Really, isn't it? And really, I only have one question for the Governor Schwarzenegger. Go ahead. What is it? What's the real reason Marie Osmond collapsed on Dancing with the Stars? That's an impression. Well, he's a Hollywood type, right? I mean, you should know. I think that Southern California is plagued by wildfire. Bigger issues. There are bigger issues, and I'd like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the Office of... President of the United States of America, 2008. No, you can't. You're already. You're done. You're already. There are term limits. A very sad situation going on. My running mate recently lost his car in the Malibu fire, but he'll be here shortly as well. You may know him. His name is.
Dick Van Dyke. Yeah, we talked about that. We're actually both going to run for president, so if I don't make it, he's a shoe-in. What are you talking about? And if we both win, then I'll do Monday, Wednesday, Friday. You do, like, job sharing with the presidents. And he'll do Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and then we'll, like, alternate Sundays. And I believe he's up for a leap year. A leap year? So, like, what up? Listen. I'm here now, ready to help. Oh, good. I feel so much safer. Listen, I really appreciate San Diego. It's an amazing community. I mean, you guys rebuilt that French Quarter in no time. It's a gas lamp quarter. It's a gas lamp quarter. That was New Orleans hurting Katrina. Plus all the famous sites that are still standing here, like the Sears Tower and that Space Needle. It's not here. I mean, truly the American spirit shining here in San Diego. Anyway, ladies and gents,
I got a fish taco with my name on it. Vicente Rubio is a good friend of mine. Muchos gracias Miguelito. It's Ralph Rubio, actually. Peace in the Middle East. Bush out. This is the Mikey Show. So you're the guy who pooped in my tuba. Call 877-800-9005. That's 877-800-9005. Don't try to talk him out of it, people. It's local. I think you're confused. I think they just share the same name. He's very clearly a very popular pop artist. All right, welcome back. It is 837. San Diego's former fire chief decided not to evacuate his Escondido home after getting the reverse 911 call. I think that's Sam Congato on backup. Is that right? I think it is. World Series game one, Boston, they were red hot. They beat Colorado 13 to 1. With Sam Congato on me. You know it. It was crazy. Can I say that? Hey, it's Royce and Mike. You know, there's a part of me that says that I might be okay with that fire chief, Stan. He's the ex-fire chief. I would think he knows what he's doing. Yeah, and you know, this is a home that since retiring, he resigned about 18 months ago. He said he resigned because the city wouldn't give him additional personnel and equipment.
after the Cedar Fire, after going through the Cedar Fire. So he retired and him and his wife got over two acres up in North Escondido and built a custom home that took them a year. He said he put all his life savings into it. And so he got the reverse 911 call, but he said he didn't think it applied to him because they said that the reverse 911 call was for the Hidden Meadows area. And he says, I don't live in the Hidden Meadows area. He went outside on his patio, looked around, assessed the situation, and even though all his neighbors were leaving and evacuating, he said, no, I'm not going. He said the reason he didn't leave is because first he didn't think him or his wife were in any danger. And also he said that he had poured his life savings into this home and he wanted to protect it because he said if he left, he felt it would just be a robber's paradise. So he stayed and, you know, was very lucky and survived. But he did say, hey, you know, if he was the fire chief, he'd be mad at himself for not leaving. Did he lose his home? No, they stayed and everything was fine. That's good. P1 Brian, are you there? Morning, Mikey. Hey, man, what do you want to let people know?
Hey, I work out here at the Santee Home Depot. We're right off of Mission Gorge on Town Center Parkway, man. I know a lot of people are needing generators, and with the devastation that's happened, I think everybody bought them, but we just got a truckload in, and we got a whole bunch of them. And I wanted to get the word out to your listeners and everybody that we have a bunch of generators right now, so people who need them come on down to the Santee Home right off of Mission Gorge, Town Center Parkway. Come on down. Whoever needs them, come down and pick them up. Okay, thank you. I appreciate it, Brian. Okay, Mike. Thank you. Uh-huh. You know, those masks are available at the Home Depot I went to yesterday. They had crates of them, of the masks. I mean, the air quality is improving to a point now where people may not think they need them. But if you do, if you feel like you still need them, it was the one on Lucadia and El Camino Real. They were available yesterday. Rebecca, are you there? Yeah. It's P1 Rebecca. Go ahead. Yeah, I was just calling to see if you guys knew any information or could get some information out about a girl that I go to church with. Her dad went missing Sunday night in Carlsbad. And they aren't getting a whole lot of publicity or a whole lot of help with it because of all the stuff going on with the fires. And he actually was a firefighter for 30-some-odd years.
And he was just injured on the job and was in a lot of pain and going through depression. And he just went up missing and they found his car Sunday night off Cannon Road in Carlsbad. And they have no idea where he is or what's going on with him. Hmm. And who was the last person to see him? I'm not sure. I mean, he was talking to his wife on Friday night. I'm not sure about those details. We just know that they found his car off a road on Cannon Road in Carlsbad. And my church has been doing a lot of searches on the high grass areas off Faraday in Cannon. But they just need a lot of help and any information. Okay, Skye, what do you got? Well, I just have a question for you. So do we know why he went missing? Is he disoriented? Does he suffer from some medical condition? Is there anything, any other information like that? All I know is that he was severely depressed from, he got injured at work and he felt like the doctors weren't helping him and he was in a lot of pain and they diagnosed him with depression and he was kind of talking about.
trying to find ways to kill himself so he didn't have to deal with the pain, and it's totally out of character for him. Like I said, he was a firefighter for a long time, and he just all of a sudden disappeared. Well, if anybody knows anything, Carlsbad Police Department is probably the best thing to do. Rebecca, thank you for the call. I appreciate it. Thank you very much. Thanks. We got a new update for you. I'm Mark Evans from AM600 COGO. The morning briefing at the Office of Emergency Services. Sheriff Bill Colander says the death toll now reaches three directly related to the wildfires. On a sad note, we did have two burned bodies. In a residence near Poway. One man died very early in the disaster near Tecate Sunday morning when the fires first began. Two more people have been arrested for looting in the South Bay. They were nabbed trying to cross the border back into Mexico. They were seen taking items out of a burned residence. They were both arrested.
and they are booked in the San Diego County Central Jail. Wednesday, six suspected illegal immigrants were caught stealing relief supplies from Qualcomm Stadium. Earlier this week, two guys were busted in the deserted areas of Ramona. Police in San Diego, Chula Vista, and Escondido say officers are being pulled from specialized duties to cover neighborhood patrols. Some good news for fire evacuees anxious to get back home. This is going to be a re-entry day for many of the thousands of San Diegans that are out there. We're absolutely thrilled to be able to do this for them and get people in their homes and get our community back to the vibrancy that we had prior to this incident. Ron Lane with the Office of Emergency Services says evacuation orders are being lifted today for the Olive Hill area in Fallbrook, as well as Bonzel, Fairbanks Ranch, and 4S Ranch. People in Ramona still aren't allowed back home. I'm Mark Evans from AM600 COGO. There you go. There's the latest. That's what we know right now. Let's see, what else can I tell you about? They're investigating arson in Orange County. Some of the fires in Orange County may be arson. Yeah, actually, since this morning when I went and pulled the news, they have said they're certain that the Santiago fire that burned over 19,000 acres in Orange County is arson. They did raid somebody's home.
as part of the arson investigation, but aren't releasing many details regarding that. They say a reward of $70,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for setting that Orange County fire. And then also a smaller fire, which was called the Rosa Fire in Riverside County. They also believe that one was probably arson as well. I wonder how they, A, you know, these guys are real smart. They know how to figure stuff out. I wonder how, A, they figure out that it's arson, and B, how they find a suspect. Right. You know what I mean? Well, you know, the only information that they do give is they say that in regards to the Santiago fire, which is the Orange County one, which they're confident was arson, they say that all three points of origin have been declared a crime scene. So they know the three points where the fire was sparked and they've cornered that off as a crime scene and obviously are investigating exactly how the fire was set. Wow. Yeah, very interesting. You know, this weekend is going to be, there's going to be a convention in Scranton, Pennsylvania for the TV show The Office.
There ain't no party like a Scranton party. Wow. That's right. They're doing a convention, and people are going to show up from the TV show The Office. Yeah, they say 14 cast members will be there, but none of them are the main, you know, characters, the gym. I don't believe you'll continue. Eddie, you would go to that. Yeah. You would. Yeah, they're going to have lookalike contests. They're going to have the Office Olympics, appearances like we talked about it. Wow. the way that you are. The Scrantones will perform, and I guess they're the band who actually recorded the theme music. Not Scrantonicity? No, not Scrantonicity. Scrantonicity 2? No, not Scrantonicity 2. I think they're doing a wedding. So this is a real band? Yeah. I thought that this was something NBC just put together. Well, according to my notes here, it says, yeah, the Scrantones will perform, and they are the band that recorded the show's theme music. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that conventions can be very prosperous for those actors. What do you mean by prosperous? Well, for instance, Jenna Elfman, the woman that plays Pam, she could... Jenna Fisher. Jenna Elfman was on Dharma and Greg. No, Dharma, that's Dharma from Dharma and Greg. Right, like the Dharma...
convention. The Dharma Initiative from Lost? Exactly. No, these are all different things. Right, well. Not right. I'm telling you, they're all different. So they could all stand to make a great deal of money from the convention. Really? Yes. By doing what? Selling drugs. Or not. Well, you don't do that. No, no, I don't do that anymore. George! I don't do it anymore. So you're saying you did? Like when you were a kid? Yeah, you know, when I was eight or nine, I sold ecstasy. Where? In the Philippines? No, in my homeland of Vietnam. You're neither of those. You're Japanese. Gosh. You're so foolish. I'm afraid I won't read that one, Sean. Uh-oh. It's perfect. Over the top. Double over the top. Well, he's double over the top to Kai. This is all I'm saying. Oh, my God. Whoops. Brutal. Heidi Klum says that she fell for seal when she saw him coming out of a hotel gym wearing his biker shorts. Oh.
She happened to see his face at the time? Apparently not. No, but she says she saw everything she needed to see through those biker shorts. She says she saw him in the form-fitting biker shorts. She was like, wow. I pretty much saw everything. The whole package. Wow. Yeah. Whoa. And that's the moment she knew it was love, huh? She calls it lust at first sight. Oh, gosh. He's so horny. This guy's very jealous. What? That's right. I wish I was at that hotel. Stop. I wonder if they have a helipad. See if, like, Taye Diggs or Mike Tyson or anybody can come walking out of there. Well... You don't need to make those tongs. Barnard Hopkins. Whoa. There are certain things that I just know to do. For instance, I'll always know where the Utah Jazz is staying. What? I'll try to stay there. Or the Knicks. Huh? Anyway. Hashtag single now. Oh, that's right. Yummy. Stop. Even I have limits. Means.
I'm blammy wowie zowie is what I mean. Oh. Okay. All right. Blammy wowie zowie. P1 Eric. Yeah. What's going on, man? How are you doing? Good. Hey, I wanted to comment on what Sky said about the 70,000 for the two arsons. Oh, yeah, the Orange County arsons. Yeah, I was watching the news this morning before I took off to work, and actually Arnold Schwarzenegger put up 50,000 as well. On top of the 70? Yeah, so it's at 120. That's awesome. Yeah, it is. So I just thought I'd call and let you guys know about that. That's cool. All right, man. You guys have a good day. Thank you, man. Do you guys know that back in 1986, mob bosses discussed putting a hit out on Giuliani, who at the time, I guess, was a prosecuting attorney or something?
Yeah, they say at that time back in the 80s, Giuliani had a track record of high profile mob prosecutions. So currently a trial is going on about a mob, a potential mob tie to the murder of a former FBI agent. Okay. So during the testimony. All right. Um, an FBI agent talked about how a key FBI informant says that, um, the five, oh my gosh, the five major, you know, they were trying to say it was a certain guy who was going to put the head out on him. And I said, uh, I never met that guy. And he said, well, they put down a folder that says, this is a bunch of pictures of you guys having lunch together. He said, it's not me. Never, I don't recognize anyone in that picture. I mean, this wiretap says this, that wiretap says that. Wiretap? What do you want? I said, yeah, Giuliani, whatever. Yeah. I don't care. Giuliani on a Ritz-Kirke. I can't.
Yeah. It's delicious. It's like Giuliani and a Ritz Kraken. All right, we got to take a quick timeout. When we come back, we're still going to be doing tone-deaf karaoke. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. When I was eight years old, I kissed our dog on the mouth. Eddie. Take a look at this Adonis body. Sky. I'm not. Save this. Cliff Sean. I love it when black people make fun of white people. Boston Rob. I'm not a chick. Come on, lady. Ashley. I am Freaklet Finicky Handwasher. The Mikey Show's on. Yay! Pac-1053. Welcome back. It's 8.59. The president should be arriving in San Diego in the next half hour. He'll take a tour of the burn areas and then have lunch with firefighters. The Lakers preseason game that was scheduled for tonight with Utah and San Diego is canceled. Hey, Mikey, I was amazed to see on my way to work this morning a guy throwing a total of two cigarettes out the window. Is this guy insane? Does he not know that most fires are started that way? Please tell your listeners to think about the tragedy we have in our backyards and stop doing that.
Yeah, if you smoke, take one of those little, you know, take a cup with you with water in it or something. Take something with you that you can throw it, you know, in that instead of throwing out the window. Yeah, what my dad used to always do is just put it out on the bottom of his shoe and then hold on to all the butts and throw them in the trash. He would put it out on the bottom of his shoe in the car? Wherever. Well, he had the ashtray in the car, but anywhere we were, he'd never throw a cigarette butt. He would always completely put them out, and then at the end of the day, it's kind of gross, he would have them all in his pocket and then throw them out. I was trying to imagine putting it out on the bottom of your shoe while driving. Yeah, not while driving, but when you don't have an ashtray right there. That would be scary. Yeah. Why don't we do this? We need this. Tone deaf. Tone deaf karaoke. Sounds like Ashley is choking. Retard. I swear I'm not joking. When I hear her singing, I'd rather lose an arm. Tone deaf karaoke is on. What's the name of the P1 that's going to donate money, Boston Rob? P1 Brew. Yeah, it's my boy. Brew. You're my boy, Brew.
50 bucks. Yeah, Bruce says 50 bucks for everybody that can answer a correct tone-deaf karaoke song. Well, we've got a great batch today, so this should be easy. The way tone-deaf karaoke works is you call in, you're going to listen to Ashley singing. Just tell us what she's singing, that's all. You win. Nice. It seems very easy on the surface. It's kind of like walking through the county fair. And they say to you, oh, it's real easy. In order to win that big prize up there, all you have to do is throw this basketball through this hoop. Yeah. Knock down all those bottles. That's easy. Yeah, no problem. So you fork over five bucks and you realize it ain't as easy as you thought it was. Yeah. Kind of the same concept here. You're going to listen to Ashley singing and then try to tell us what that is. Yeah, Ashley's like the carny. Exactly. Yeah. She's like a carnival barker. Yeah. Who can't sing. But with teeth. I can sing. Mm-hmm. Well, we'll see. P1 Departed. P1 Departed. Maybe I said it wrong. The Departed. The Departed. Oh, George Sakai. P1 Departed, are you there? Yeah. Okay, you ready to play? Yeah. Wait until the entire clip plays, and then I just need title or artist in order for you to win. You ready? Gotcha. Here we go. Oh, I need some time. Time to pick me off the floor. P1 Departed. Title or artist? Come on, dude. If you get this right.
P1 Brew is going to donate $50 to the American Red Cross. He could rebuild somebody's house. No pressure. Departed? Hello? I think he departed. No, he didn't. Come on, that's snot. Get him out of here. Departed? That's snot. Boy, he was terrible right from the beginning. That doesn't count. He wasn't like talking when I was going to him. He was awful. It's an easy one. P1 Matt. Hey, yeah. Hey, man. What ever happened to Matt Damon? Matt Damon, why don't you call Damon? All right, Matt, I'm going to play the same clip for you when it's done. I just need a title or artist for you to win. Here we go. Oh, but I need some time off from that emotion. Time to pick off the floor. P1, Matt, can you give me a title? Oh, that's it. Yeah. That's it. You got it. That's right. Shawnee's standing up in his jeans right now. They're showing his buns. Oh.
And he's in black and white playing a guitar. Slap that hip. He's got the Highway Patrol sunglasses on with mirrors. Perfectly shaved beard. There you go. I couldn't tell if Ashley was trying to sound like Fred Durst or George Miles. Yeah, it was hard to tell. Hang on, Matt. Matt! P1 Sanjaya. Good morning, Sanjaya. Glad he's okay. I haven't heard from him in a while. Hey! with that big grin on his face, smoking a J. What's your hair like today, Sanjaya? Yeah, what do you got going on, Sanjaya? Well, it's just kind of shaggy. Low and afro-y. That's right. It kicked you out of San Diego because your hair was a fire hazard. Yeah. All right, Sanjaya, I'm going to play you a clip when it's done. Title or artist to win. Here we go. I see them dancing to hell with romance and she's sweat, wet. Got it going like a turbo vet.
P1 Sanjaya, can you give me title or artist to win? Sure makes a lot. Yes. Yes. Wow. $50. $50. $50. Can I say? Yes. Fun fact about Ashley. Yes. When I was third grade, so I was like nine or eight years old, me and my best friend at the time, we choreographed a full-on dance to this. It took us like five hours. We performed it for our parents.
Your parents watched you guys perform Baby Got Back? Oh, yeah. It was like my favorite song. We made a whole dance to it, like spent five hours, performed it to our parents. Do you remember how any of that dance goes? No. Oh, bummer. No. You really don't? Uh-uh. Like, I want to see my wife do that stupid thing that she did with Jamie. Yeah. Her and Jamie used to do the same thing. Yeah. Oh, that's, like, all I would do. I think little girls, they'd get together with their girlfriends and they would come up with dances. Oh, yeah. That was a big thing. Hang on the line, Sanjaya. Thank you. You're a winner. I would, like, direct movies and I would do all sorts of weird stuff. Commercials. Yeah, that's what my wife did. Like a Gottmelt commercial where we'd do, like, real world, but, like, with my friends. Oh. Videotape it all. You don't have to think about everything you did on the videotape. Yeah, please don't. Sophomore year. I know, we got it. Sophomore year. Sorry, we got it. P1 Tarzan. I love it. Tarzan Boy. Tarzan Boy. That was really... Tarzan, you still with us? Tarzan? Yes, sir. I like the fact that you know that song because it means that it could help you in this game. I'm going to play you a clip, and when the clip's done, I just need title or artist for you to win. Are you ready?
Yep. Here we go. We're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I. Full commitment's what I'm thinking of. You wouldn't get this from any other guy. I just want to tell you how I'm feeling. Yes. I gotta make you understand. Uh. Let's see. P1 Tarzan, do you have a clue on the title or artist there? No. Come on. You knew Baltimore's Tarzan boy. Oh, yeah. But you don't know the song that we just played. I don't know why. Sorry about that, P1 Tarzan. It was Rick Astley. Duh. At the time. The time I wanted to be a top 40 jock in the worst way, that's what was being played on the radio. Those were the hits. Oh, yeah, man. Greatest music video. That's right. Dude, when he dances. It's true. Come on, we got to make one more $50 donation. Yeah, yeah, yeah. P1 Chewy. What up, Mike? All right, dude. If you get this right, bro, P1 Brew is going to donate $50 to the American Red Cross. All right on. You just need the name of the song or who sings it. Are you ready? Yes, I am. Here we go.
But I don't sweat it because it's just pathetic to let it get me involved in all that he said, she said crap. I know that ain't nobody perfect. I give props to those who deserve it. And believe me, y'all, he's worth it. So here's to the future because we got through the past. I finally found somebody that can make me laugh. I think I want to have your baby. What the hell was that? P1 Chewy. Oh, I hope he gets it wrong. That's crazy. Come on, give me a title or artist. Was that Notorious B.I.G.? What? It was not Notorious B.I.G. Someone else has got it. Somebody else will get it. P1 Fish. 50 bucks. P1 Fish, if you get it right, 50 bucks donated to the American Red Cross. Don't say what it is until after you've heard the clip. Are you ready, Fish? Ready. Here we go. But I don't sweat it because it's just pathetic to let it get me involved in all that he said, she said crap. I know that ain't nobody perfect. I give props to those who deserve it and believe me, y'all, he's worth it. So here's to the future because we got through the past. I finally found somebody that can make me laugh. You're crazy. I think I want to have your baby. Do you want fish? Can you give me title or artist?
Salt and pepper, shoop. You know what? You don't need shoop. It was actually what a man, but it was salt and pepper. You win. All right, Fish, you win. Hang on the line, okay? Right. Well, it's $100 donated to the American Red Cross. $150, yeah. Hang on the line. The Mikey Show is on. It's late. The phone. My son arrested. I need serious help. Gobbledygook. All that you've got to worry about right now is the closures, and they're pretty much the same ones that's been in place here for several days here.
On the 15, the Mission Road off-ramps from the 15 in Fallbrook are closed down. However, they've opened up the 76 now into Fallbrook, so that's going to be good news for you. Westburn Auto Drive on-ramp to North 15. There is a little fender bender here to watch for, so be careful around that. Also, the Westburn Auto Drive off-ramps are still closed down off that 15. You've got Northbound 67, still closed at Poway Road up into Ramona. Wildcat Canyon Road northbound closed from Willows Road up to San Vicente. South Bend's open, though, and the 94's still shut down here from Steel Canyon all the way up to Forest Gate. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. I can tell you this about Cricket. First of all, they're fantastic. Second of all, they don't get you into contracts. That's great. It is great. Why do you need it? It'll be another thing to worry about in a time like this. Right? Like we need that right now. Give me a break, being stuck in a contract, and maybe something happened to your phone and you misplaced it. Oh, you want a new phone? Oh, well, then you have to commit for another two years. Twenty hundred years. Twenty hundred. That's what they told me. They said twenty hundred. That's what I meant. And I said, you know what? Cricket doesn't make me do that. They'll just let me get a new phone and they won't make me be in a contract for twenty hundred years. Thank you. It's true. Plus, you could send text messages for free. Yeah. And that's how much they normally cost. Twenty hundred cents per text. Twenty hundred. Twenty hundred cents.
Per text. Per text. Wow, that adds quick. Not with cricket, though. No, no. They've never even heard of 2,000. A hundred hundred is a lot, too. Oh, let's not even go there, Mike. What's the website? That's all I said.
It's 9-19. Homeowners in Rancho Bernardo were allowed back into their neighborhoods with a police escort yesterday to check on their homes. Hey, Rob, not sure if you knew this or not, but Boston won game one of the World Series. They beat Colorado 13-1. It's just barely mixed in there, so you can't really hear it that well. To the naked ear. To the naked ear, right? You have to really listen. If you really listen, you can get it. He always has to be constipated when he records. Why is that? I don't know. I get the feeling he takes a lot of antibiotics, gets you constipated. Yeah, it binds him up. Yeah, it binds him up, and then he has a lot of bread. Do we suppose Chris Daughtry never got famous before, like with a band? Like, how come it took him going on American Idol to become... Because clearly he's got a real good voice.
Well, remember? He's not ugly. He was turned away from Rockstar in Excess. Why? Did they say? I think they said that they already had, like, guys like him. You know, they had already cast that rock guy. And they wanted to get more of a variety. There's something a little, something about his voice that I don't like. That I think is very, like, I don't know how else to put it other than I don't, like, respect something about it. He's a poser. That's what it is. But there's something about his voice. Like the actual voice. His voice. When he sings, there's something that I go, well, that's cheap. That's cheap. Like, I'm not buying it. Like, there's other guys when they sing and I go, oh, I believe you. I believe that voice. I believe that's for real. Jon Bon Jovi. I'll give you a good example. The other day we were talking about Seether. Oh, you believe that guy and not Daughtry? Yeah. What's the new song called, Sky? The new Seether? Fake, yeah. I'll call you when I'm sober. No, that's... I will call you when I'm sober. Oh, well, it was nice talking about you. I'll tell you what. I've thought this a million times since I first saw it.
We'll never have it. We'll never have it. It's gone forever. But one of my favorite things ever, ever, ever, and I mean ever on television, was the American Idol auditions where the 17-year-old kid went into the audition and he was like... And he didn't make it. And his dad was out there. And his dad like really believed that he could. Like no one in his family knew that he was like, you know, forcing this. And remember, I'll never forget Randy saying, dude, you just you're going. It was one of my favorite things like ever. Now, so we never got to talk about this because of the fires and everything. On Friday, did anybody watch the next great American band? I watched a little bit of it. Yeah. Yeah. Did you see those kids from San Marcos? I turned it on right as they were being, where I turned it on right at the moment that the Goo Goo Dolls guy was saying, no, no. And Sheila E. was going, say yes, say yes. So finally he's like, okay, fine, yes. And they were.
Real stoked on themselves. Yeah, they were really good. I was pretty impressed with these kids. Really? What's the name of the band? Light of Doom. Is that? Yeah, Light of Doom from San Marcos. Weren't they young? Real young kids? Yeah, they're these junior high kids, but they do metal. And they say their biggest influence was Maiden or something. And I thought they sounded great. Yeah, the lead singer was really good. Yeah. I saw the one that they said were Maroon 5-ish. And all the members of the band were really tall. There was this one short guy. And they're like, the four of you could actually, three and a half of you are really good. Good one. So is it a good show? No, I thought it was stupid. It wasn't very good. I wouldn't watch it again. Like, it didn't grab me. Like, it really didn't grab me. I would have loved if they would have made the show an hour long and done the whole process and ended it at the end of the show. Yeah. Five minutes of auditions, ten minutes of...
So where were they? Where did they end up being where they were? What? Remember they were at a lake or somewhere? Oh, yeah. I want to say... I think they were in Cabo, right? Was it Cabo? I thought it was. You watched it. Well, no. I tuned in late, so I didn't hear that part. But I just saw the water behind them. So, yeah. What are you doing? What am I doing right now? Yeah, you're looking for something. Yeah, I'm looking to see if it says right here where they were broadcasting from. But it doesn't say anything. Do you want to hear those kids? Yeah, yeah. How are you guys doing? We're doing good. How about yourselves? Excellent. Thank you very much. What are your influence? Iron Maiden, all kinds of 80s metal, 70s, 60s. It doesn't say that on your shades, does it? No. It says here clearly in black and white, your influences are ninjas and explosions. I forgot about those. You guys ready to rock? Yep. All right. Don't hurt me. Let's do it. That's something else. What did you think, Mike? Well, I do have to admit that when I watched it, I thought that they were really good. But just like with Idol, lots of times when you see something and you...
Factor in their appearance or their novelty fact. You know, it kind of gives it a little bit more than when you just listen to the raw audio. Plus, I had make it better-o-vision. Yeah. Wow. I don't know about that one, guys. Oh, something else. Yeah. I don't know that I'd be ordering that on iTunes. Not anytime soon. Yeah, hearing that back kind of changed things a little bit. And it really sounded like... They really liked Iron Maiden, for sure. Well, yeah. You know what I mean? Maybe Tenacious D. Hey, Mikey, there is an over-enthused fan that's a redhead who throws her bras at us with her phone number written on the cups whenever we play any games. We think it might be Sky. Not sure, though. If it is, can you tell her to stop? Signed, all the players in the NBA. Wow. What's up with that, Sky? I don't know. I haven't been to an NBA game. Sky, if that's you, they want you to stop. I haven't been to an NBA game in a long, long time. They're trying to play a basketball game. Concentrate. I don't. That doesn't really happen. San Diego Chargers have asked that Sky stop trying to interview the players in the locker room. What are you doing? I'm a journalist. Let me in this time. Please. I'll keep my eyes up here. So, Roman. Stop it.
I've never been in the locker room. What do you think the keys to the game are? I'm not looking down at their junk. I've never... Stop it. Mike. Eyes up here. I'm standing here with Antonio Gates. Antonio, heck of a game today. We get it. Good to see you. This is Radio Clown School. I'm glad you're entertaining Eddie right now. That's funny. With your jokes. Well, hello there, LaDainian. No. Stop it. Three touchdowns, eh? I would never. Disrespectful. Come on. You're so appropriate. You're so grown up. What? I hate when guys do that. Guys do that to chicks all the time. Oh, I know. Do what? Look at their breasts when they should be looking at their eyes. Oh, Skye. It's so different. You know what I mean? Like, hey, I'm not saying it's right. I'm just saying, you know.
If a girl is standing in front of a guy and she's got this top on that's very revealing, you know, it's like very distracting and it's very difficult for a guy, you know, no matter who the guy is. Yeah. It's very difficult, you know, but you could do it. You just have to concentrate on not looking. And it's because female anatomy is right there on them. Yeah. It sticks out. Well, for Rob, it's eye level. Oh, perfect. Yeah. I'm not even going to fight that one. No way. Boobies. All right. Yeah. President just got here. Yes. Oh, there it is. Air Force One. Just landed. What up? What up, Air Force One? Harrison Ford comes bounding out of it. Be cool. 33-year-old female teacher in Florida is accused of having sex with her student. How many times, you know, can't they figure out... Florida's a hotbed for that. Yeah, they keep getting caught. Isn't that that hot blonde, wasn't she, Florida, too? Oh, yeah. Yeah, so this... This one hot? I don't know. I didn't see her. Oh, fuck. Sky, what, what, what? I'll pass. Uh-oh. Yeah. Eddie says, I'll pass. Let me see. So, yeah, I guess the police were, like, had heard rumors or whatever, so they were investigating and they were watching her apartment.
And they saw a group of 16-year-old boys leaving on bikes. And then they came back. And then I guess they were later pulled over driving her car. This 16-year-old boy who doesn't have a license. What struck you funny there, Rob? Rob, I'm always interested in what makes him laugh. Because I'm visualizing the whole thing. And it just seems so funny. They, like, leave, come back on their bikes. And then they get to borrow her car and go cruise. Like, what were they doing? Like, going to pick up more condoms? Yeah, so... That's awesome for them. So one of the kids in the car, when the police were like, well, why are you driving this car? You don't have a license. This isn't even your car. One of the other kids is like, you know, oh, well, he's sleeping with the chick who owns the car. Really? Well, then it turns out that the chick is a teacher. And so the chick came down to the scene because the police were like, hey, these kids have your car and claim that you let them have it. So she comes down, ends up having to admit, yeah. The bone smooch. The bone smooch. Yeah. And has been suspended, but with pay until the school board can figure this all out. P1 Reed? Yeah. What's up?
Hey, how you doing? Good. I was wondering, I heard you guys talking to musicians and stuff. I was wondering if you ever have live musicians down in your studio to play. I write my own stuff. I play and sing. It can be confirmed on my MySpace that I don't suck. I was wondering if you guys ever have anybody in the studio. Give me your MySpace. All right, it's myspace.com backslash read, R-E-I-D, S-O-G-E-L-S. Hang on, hang on. Myspace.com slash what? R-E-I-D. R-E-I-D. D, Delta. Everybody's talking loud. R-E-I-D. Oh, my God, we're horrible. What? Romeo, Echo, India, Delta. I got to type all that in? What? Hold on, Romeo. Yeah, you spell Romeo with an E? I'm such a dick right now. And F. G-E-L-S-O-N. Holy jeepers. Jeepers. Don't see this. Fizzo. Say it again. Say it again? No. Does your music start playing when you get there? It should, yeah. It should come up automatically. It better not suck. It says this profile is set to private and I don't have... I'm not a user. Oh. Oh, I have to spell it out. I'm going to have to get that changed.
What's the matter with you, bro? This was about to be your big break. Look what happened. You were going to be played on the radio. Oh, man. So if I get that changed, I can call back. It's the hackers, man. It's the hackers. One shot deal. The hackers? What does that mean? Who knows? It's the monsters in the machine. Sing something for me right now. I tell you what. Stay in line. I'm going to take a break. When we come back, I'm going to hear you sing. All right. Don't take a break. Where are you right now? I'm on my way back up to Oceanside. I work for DirecTV. And when I come back, I'll hear you sing. Hang on, all right? All right. We'll see. It can't be hurt, though, if I don't like it. It's Mikey. On the rock. Mikey, I have felt like a part-time P1. until yesterday. I went to Sleep Train so that I could have a reference to compare used mattresses on Craigslist. I took my three-year-old in there, which is typically a bad idea because she doesn't have the ability to self-calm herself yet. I digress. But my point is that they made it so easy to figure out which mattress I wanted that I ended up buying one at Sleep Train. I really wanted the Beautyrest World Class Paris Plush.
But it was out of my budget, which is why I felt I needed to buy a used one. The sales associate knocked off $1,213 and offered to deliver it today. We got this email. B-Rob, when did we get this? A couple days ago? Yeah, two days ago. Two days ago. That's awesome. Yeah, man. My wife, who is one month pregnant with our second child, will be pleasantly surprised tonight when she sleeps on our new Paris plush. She really deserves a good mattress to sleep on, and I can't wait to sleep on it with her. Signed, P1 Norfus. You want that to be your story? Sleep trains are everywhere. Check one out. Other than that, though, we just had the closures in place because of the fires here. Mission Road off from the 15 in both directions. Closed down here in Fallbrook.
The Western Auto Drive off-ramps from the 15 are also closed down. Northbound 67, that is still shut down at Poway Road all the way up to Ramona. Wildcat Canyon Road heading northbound, that's closed from Willow Road to San Vicente. South on the Wildcat Canyon Road, though, that is clear and good to go. You've got the 94 also still closed here from Steel Canyon all the way out to Forest Gate. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Ah, yes. My favorite website that I have to tell you P1s about. Right now, the estimated losses from the wildfires in San Diego, it's at $1 billion. President Bush has arrived, so I'm sure he will have a decision on whether or not the Chargers are going to play here in San Diego. He just landed at Miramar, and they're showing him on TV walking with Schwartzy. Two of them are walking. President's got on him. Oh, he's got his hand on Schwarzenegger's shoulder. Don't touch me. Sexy. Get your hands off me. Don't touch me, you. You guy.
Getting in the helicopter. What are they doing, Sky? Nothing. Getting in the helicopter. What is this? The Donkey Kong 2 we're getting into? No, the Honky Kong 2. They're getting into like a presidential helicopter. President and Arnold Schwarzenegger. That must be cool. How'd you like to be in that helicopter? A lot. With Schwartzy and President Bush. Yeah, it's actually a Transformer. What? Those are two very, very famous people. Really? In that helicopter. Nuh-uh. They're very famous, very celebrated people in that helicopter. I bet if we walked outside right now, we could see that. Really? It's at Miramar's right there. Lifting off? So I wonder what they're going to do right now. They're going to go tour everything? Yeah. Take a look? Yeah. Like Sky does, you know, the champagne tours? What are you talking about? Every evening? You know how you do your champagne tours with yourself? No, I've never done a champagne tour. I toast myself. Shut up. Well, the boo won't. Can't get a ride. Ramsey, this isn't even Dom. We can't fly. I'm grounding us. Spit this on your face. I need real champagne. Cristal. Yes, get me some Cristal. Champagne. Champagne?
Quickly. Hope you get loaded. Give me the Sparkle Insiders. Fine. I think we have a new update. Let's take a listen to the latest and what's going on. I'm Mark Evans from AM600 COGO. San Diego County authorities have discovered the bodies of two more people believed to have been killed in the wildfires that scorched Southern California. Sheriff Bill Collender says recovery crews found the burned bodies in a gutted home near Poway. He says... He has no other identification at this point. A man died earlier in the firestorm down in Tecate on Sunday. Not all people evacuated Ramona as advised, so county spokesperson Mike Workman says if you're there, he has a warning from the county. They want people in Ramona.
not to use their water. As a matter of fact, they've shut down a lot of the meters, so you can't use the water because they need to charge the line. Workman says if you do have to use the water, you should boil it for at least 30 minutes first. President Bush is on his way to Southern California to get a close-up view of wildfire devastation. He'll be in Rancho Bernardo, landing at Miramar, Speaking at the White House shortly before he left, Bush expressed sympathy for those who lost their homes and promised federal assistance. Fire victims will start getting some of that bona fide help today when three assistance centers open. Federal and local officials will be on hand to help people who lost home recover vital records and start rebuilding their lives. That means filing insurance claims and applying for temporary housing. Among other things, the assistance centers are at Rancho Bernardo Glassman Recreation Center, the Ramona Community School, and Fallbrook Community Center. A fourth center in Rancho San Diego at Cuyamaca College is set to open tomorrow. The Witch Fire, the largest in San Diego County, burned almost 200,000 acres. At this point, it is 20% contained. I'm Mark Evans from AM600 COGO. 20 is better than 10. That's what it was yesterday. So at least they're making some headway on that thing.
Okay, so before we went to break, we were talking to Reed. Reed, are you still there? Yeah. All right, so what do you sing? I sing a little bit of everything. I figure I'll do a little bit of walking in Memphis. All right, let me hear you do some walking in Memphis. And then I'll decide whether or not you're my style. And then if you are, then we'll let you come in with like an acoustic guitar and play here on the air. And then maybe I'll get discovered and I'll get a couple points on your album. Let's hear it. All right, sweet. Here we go. Sported the plane. Touchdown in the land of the Delta Blues. In the middle of the pouring rain. And I'm walking in Memphis. Yeah, I'm walking with my feet ten feet off a bill. Yeah, I'm walking in Memphis. But do I really feel the way I feel? Thank you. Randy. I don't know, dog. Come on, man.
It's just, you know, a little pitchy. A little pitchy in spots. But, I mean, at the end, you kind of worked it out, dog. You worked it out. Pauler. You did your thing. Thanks, brother. Pauler. I got the thumbs up from the girls. Pauler. Simon, stop it. Here we go. Stop it, Simon. I'm not touching it. You do this every time. You do this every time. Be a professional. Anyway, Reed. What's going on, Ryan? Reed, I thought that you sounded beautiful. There was part of me that felt that you were actually singing that to me. And I think you're wonderful and you're going to have a huge career. All right, listen. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. No! You're the worst, Simon. You're the worst. Feel that way, Simon. If I could say something here...
If I'm being... Let me talk here, please. Anyway, personally, I thought that was extraordinarily ordinary. There was nothing about it that really stuck out to me. He sounds like 40 other people that we've seen today. There was nothing special about his voice at all. He can carry a tune, but who can't? Read... I thought exactly what I just said. Are you kidding? That was so good. Listen, if I'm being honest, I thought that he sounded like he could carry a tune for sure. I thought he sounded like a lot of great singers. No, excuse me. He sounded like a lot of good singers that you would see singing karaoke anywhere in San Diego. Wow.
However, I will let him come in with his guitar and he can try it live on the air. You do any original material or anything like that, Reed? Yeah, original material. All right. I'm in. Well, I'll let you come in and let you sing something. I'm just being honest about my assessment. But, yeah, you can come in and let's try it live on the air. Maybe it's better. Sweet. All right, cool. I'm going to put you on hold and Rob will coordinate with you. All right, thanks, guys. Hang on. P1 Tyler. Hey, Mikey. What's up, man? Hey, how much? I just figured, since you guys were talking to that guy about music, I just figured maybe I'd give a shot, tell you about my band. Maybe we could come in and play some of these. Here we go. I smell a bit. Are you a singer, or what do you do? Yeah, I sing and play the guitar. All right, do you have your guitar with you right now? No, I don't, but if you wanted to check out my band online. No, I don't want to. Can you sing Rockin' in Memphis? All right, cut the music, Shawnee.
All right, I'm going to let you sing something, Tyler. What should I sing? Just anything? Yeah, I mean, that guy chose walking in Memphis. But you guys want an original or a cover? I want a cover so we all know what we're hearing. Right. You guys like the Beatles? Yeah. All right, I'll do Hey Jude. They bore the heck out of me, but... I love it. He's going to... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh. Hey Jude. I mean, shouldn't he pick something that kind of gives him a little bit of a challenge? I mean, Hey Jude. My grandma could do that. She's not even alive. She didn't even speak English. She didn't even speak English. Anybody could be like, hey Jude, don't be, come on. Give me something that'll challenge you a little bit here, Tyler. Well, shoot. What's that song you like to sing besides Hey Jude? How about Let's Get It On, yeah. Okay, man. Listen, dude, you can sing whatever you want, but I'm telling you, these choices are a little on the boring side. But, listen, you give it a shot. Maybe we'll really like the way you do Hey Jude. Hey Jude, okay, I'll do it. Go ahead. Hey Jude, don't make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better. Remember to let it rain in your heart. Then you can start to make it better. Well, first of all, I could tell that you were very nervous.
But I heard some tone in there that I actually really liked. Ashley was giving two big thumbs down. Wow. That guy was way better. But she's tone deaf. I am not. But I thought I heard a couple of tones in there. Okay. Is there anything else you can see? I want to hear another one. No. Come on. What do you want? I got a really good original. Okay. Let me hear your original. Okay. It's called This Just In. It would take me a thousand steps just pacing till I lose my breath to find the words I'm looking for to express myself. I just wanted you to know that I've never felt like this before. This, Justin, where do I begin? This is breaking news and the stories about you. A little bit of it. All right, Randy. I got to say dog. That was the best performance of the night. Well, I was a little nervous for you hearing that you were going to be doing an original tonight. Paula just fell asleep. Paula was in the middle of the sandstone. Wake her up. Paula, wake up. Hair extensions. What?
Paula, what did you think of Tyler's performance? Who's Tyler? He was a person singing. Singing what? Singing his own original song. Oh, yeah, the original. Yeah, I was worried, but you were great. Oh, she fell asleep again. Uh-oh, wake up, Paula. All right, so anyway. Absolutely the best performance we've heard this season. I think that we should have P1 Tyler come in at the same time P1 Reed comes in, and they should like... Battle of the bands. Battle of the bands. Yeah, and we'll let people text us who was better. Yes. What do you guys think? Genius. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they can do whatever they want. They could do the original. They could cover whatever. All right, hang on, Tyler. I love it. Man, Ashley, I disagree. I thought he was pretty all right. I loved his original, though. Oh, really? See, I think I agree with you. It's so mean. It's Mikey. Excuse me. May I sit here? Sure. Sit down.

He can be real touchy, though. That guy is John Wells. Yeah, he is. He can be real touchy. Because he's been doing it for a long time. And the truth is, he doesn't need it. Because he does about a billion stations. And he makes pretty good living.
I think that this is an older gentleman. He's earned a certain amount of respect in the industry. In fact, I even think that he does some movie trailers. I heard he wants to get into doing movie trailers and a lot of television and transition from doing a lot of radio. And he thinks that when doing these weird or goofy things, that it might... tarnish his image a little bit. That's the deal. Which I understand, but at the same time, you know. Right, like he doesn't want to try to be pitching, you know, the new Tom Cruise movie and doing the previews for Valkyrie. And then he's on in some station going, this weekend, the less panties for renties contest. The kiosks. The kiosks. This weekend, it's the throw your bra. Suddenly, it's, I guess, a car. Wow. It should do voice work. Yes, I'm considering doing that. No. B-94. Wait. Z-100. Yeah, I'll do the top of the hours for you. We got a new update.
Let's see. Let's give you the latest. I'm Mark Evans from AM600 COGO. County Supervisor Ron Roberts and staff beginning to tally the destruction of the wildfires. As we know, over 560,000 people had to leave their homes. The numbers are staggering. He says almost 1,500 homes are lost. We're approaching 350,000 acres. It appears from an acreage standpoint now that this is clearly the largest. Fire ever to occur in San Diego County. Evacuation orders have been lifted today in several areas, including Olive Hill area in Fallbrook, 76 north of Burma Road, Olive Hill and 76. All Bonzel is open south of 76, and the rest of Fallbrook, hopefully... Open by tomorrow morning. Also open, 4S Ranch, east of San Diego, West Limit, Fairbanks Ranch, North Limit, San Deguito River, Fairbanks Ranch. Ramona is still closed because of the water situation, and it's not safe.
The Sheriff's Department says there are no new evacuations in Lakeside or Alpine or Pine Valley. You may be hearing that elsewhere. That is not the case. The only evacuation already in place along the 67 corridor between Ramona and Lakeside and Wildcat Canyon from the San Diego County Estates to Willows Road and Lakeside already in place. Fires are still burning out of control. However, they did not grow overnight. Two deaths in Poway. There were two bodies that were found in a burned-out home there. One died very early in the fires down in Tecati. I'm Mark Evans from AM600, Kogo. There's the latest. You know, because of the fires, we did not have a chance earlier in the week to do this. Do you know who has got a slave? Do you know who's most awful? Who's a German to say? So if you think you're in the... The tough part is being able to find somebody at this late hour, because it's already 1010, that can come in tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. But we need a guy and we need a girl. We got the guy. P1 Mark. Yes, how's it going, Mikey? Good, man. How long have you been listening to The Mikey Show? This show, about a year and a half. Tell people what a P1 is. A P1 is someone who gets straight to the point, doesn't cuss. Sorry, I'm a little nervous. It's all right. Turns the radio down, spreads the word about The Mikey Show. That is correct. That is right. Mark, how old are you? I'm 24. All right, and you think that you know a pretty good amount about The Mikey Show? Yeah. Very good.
P1, Erica, are you there? Erica. Oh, wait. Erica, are you there? How old are you? I am 20 years old. How long have you been listening? About two years. Perfect. Sky, who started first last time, the guys or the girls? The guys. Oh, like you have any clue. All right, that means Erica starts this time. I check. Erica? Smarty. Check what? You get to choose. Do you want a one, two, or three-point question? Let's start off with a one. Starting off with a one. Wow. You got it. No-ka-dunk. Your one-point question is, who on the show is a big Star Wars fan? Star Wars. That has to be my buddy, Eddie. That is correct. Oh, buddy. Oh, there's a buddy, Eddie. That is correct. Roseph. P1 Mark. One, two, or three-point question, Mark. I'll go with the two. You got it. What celebrity guest was on the Mikey Show and claimed to, quote, not have an eating disorder, unquote, and then hung up?
That was Nicole Richie. That is correct. I don't have an eating disorder. Click. Sean, play that clip. Sean, if you could dub. Sean. Sean, if I could just get you to. Sean, if you don't mind. He said, hold on. Oh, I didn't hear that. Trying to find it. Can you play the clip that goes, I don't have an eating disorder? Now, who said that again? Who did it? Nicole Richie. Oh, find your Nicole Richie page, Sean. Yeah. Sean. I have an eating disorder. Thank you, Sean. Way to go, Sean. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you for playing that. That was cool. Erica? Yes. A one, two, or three point question. I can go with a two this time. With a two? Yeah. Okay. Come on, buddy. I can do it. Who snorted? Who snorted? Was that Skye? Who was that? That was Skye. Skye snorted. Skye snorted. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. She's high.
Oh, I wish. Sky! What? What's up? Alright, your question is... Your question is, what are Eddie's two job titles on the show? Oh, let's go with producer and... I don't know the official title. Sports guy, the oracle. You got it. My buddy. My buddy. What's up, buddy? All right. That means that Erica has three points and Mark has two. Mark, what do you want? A one, two, or three-point question? I'll go with three. No way, buddy. Don't do it. I don't have an eating disorder. Wait. We're on delay. Sean's in Iraq. We're on delay. Sean's in Iraq. That was a long time ago. Just so people know, Sean is in Iraq. But he's not. My gosh. Mark, name the people on the show who own cats. Sky, Mikey, and Sean. Wow. That is correct. That wasn't even difficult for us. Wow. That is correct. We have ourselves a winner. But these guys were both good. Erica brought it. You both get to come in. Yay! My buddy! You both get to come in.
