Well, listen, welcome to the show. We're all friends, believe it or not. for us. So, welcome to the program. My name's Mikey. You can call us at 570-1053. Open phones. My name's Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 37. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy. He's 34. Sky's 30. She's our news girl. Sean is our sound effects guy. We look at him on our computer screen. And Sean is 37. Ashley's 24. She's our assistant producer. Austin Rob.
Answers on phones. He's a phone screener, and Seth is the newest member of the show. He's an all-around utility guy. He's 22. Yeah, let's be friends today on Friday. Truly embarrassing. Can you get the camera out of my... No. Turn the lights on. Turn the lights on. And Rob, if you could, come in here and let Seth take a photograph of you. Oh, no. I don't want him to describe it. I bet that he does his hard face. Watch. Oh, absolutely. On the microphone, you're a high hat. On the microphone, on the microphone, I would like for you, in your own words, I would like for you, in your own words, to describe your outfit. Well, I had to resort to my throwback, Dee Brown, selfish person. Throwback.
It's a little small now, but it's a little big now. It's a little big now. It's a little big now. It feels a lot better in the 6th grade. You filled it up then. I think this is because you're going to throwback going up there. No, no, no. I think there isn't. I think there isn't. Okay. Well, I mean, throwback me. Anyway, so. So describe your outfit from top to bottom. Well, it's my lucky Irish hat. How would you, you know, what kind of hat is that? I don't know what they're called. I don't know what they're called. Anyway, so he's got on just a front line. No, it's not a break. Get in front of the camera. Show him what this is called. It's the closest thing I can think of. Yeah, step up to the camera, Riz. Now turn to the side. Oh, that's... I thought what are those candle hats? We've seen them before. Yeah, you've seen them a million times. Yeah, you guys, that thing that you've seen Samuel L. Jackson wear a million times. But you've got to be cool to pull it off.
Oh, yeah, you got a cool black and a movie star. So anyway, so, okay, so you're wearing that, and then what else have you got going on? I got my, uh, what is it, 1998, Slam Dunk, Champion, Celtic, D-Brown jerseys, you know, the throwback, and the black shirt underneath it. A black t-shirt. 98 or 97, oh, no, couldn't double check. Well, what did you know? Black t-shirt, oh, man, I just deflated it. So a bright t-shirt and a Celtic jersey over it, and then what's going on? What else? What else do we got? Is it the highline or nothing else? What's happening? Are we going to get your religion jeans? Oh, that'd be cool if you did. I do. I've won the lucky captain's jersey, and they've lost. So I haven't won Red Sox stuff for every other game, and we've won. So now I have to go around on my Red Sox stuff. I don't think much. I don't know. That's why I'm wearing my Celtic stuff. I wonder what a brain scan would look like on this kid. He's so interesting, man. He's got so much going on in his head. It's really tough to pick out outfits on game days. You can just wear a regular clothes, bro. You don't have to wear a Boston sports franchise thing every day. You do. You do. Every 365 days a year, you wear something that is a Boston sports team every day. But you don't have to. But I've got to roll those to the gym.
What? Oh, by the way, Dee Brown and Slam Dunked Champion in 1991. I need full body shot. Body shot of this. Hold on, hold on. What is your take on this? I wasn't talking trash. I wasn't talking trash. Honestly, I was genuinely confused by it. And concerned. I didn't say concerned. I didn't say concerned. I said concerned. I was concerned. He can tell you about his concern. I was confused. I was not concerned. I was confused. I saw you. I was concerned. I saw you, and I went, and I went, and I went, no, wonder what's going on with Rob. I said you don't like it. No, no, no. Let's get all this out of the way. I don't like it. I'm just saying that it is really confusing. You know, the average person in San Diego will take a look at that outfit and go, huh, is he, is he, um,
Is he homeless or is he a hoodlum? Or is he, maybe he just got out of jail and that's what he was wearing when he went in and they gave him his clothes back and somebody donated a hat. Maybe he's a fire evacuee. It could be a million things. It could be a million things. And so if I ask him, he'll clarify it and then I'll go, okay, I get it. That's all you have left, dude. I thought it could be. Take up your children's. Zeph goes, Zeph goes, was he using the House of Pain album as his mirror this morning? Ashley said when he walked out of the studio, she goes, how much you guys want to make a bet that when he takes the picture, he tries to look real hard. And ever since getting the neck tattoo in every picture. He's got a little t-shirt down. So you see that I have a tattoo on my neck. Yeah, it's her face.
He wants pictures, he wants photographs to look like a mugshot. The idea is, how do I make this look like a mugshot? Like, when you take a picture of him, he would prefer to stand to the side. But I know most people don't accept that. Here's to be favorable. Let's get an update on what's happening with the fires. No, that's not it. I realized that a little bit. All right. Wait in the bottom kind of center. Gotcha. Here's the latest in the 24-hour KOGO News Center. The latest evacuations announced today include people in Lake Henshaw, Mesa Grande, and the Laue Indian Reservation, which should already be evacuated. Firefighters are making progress in the fire near Hamul, but evacuations remain in effect for Lawson Valley and Corvacre. Lake Morena and Campo and Hapitool Valley are on alert.
The medical examiner has identified the remains of a man and woman found dead in a destroyed home in Palo on Highland Valley Road. 55-year-old Victoria Fox and 58-year-old Christopher Bain were identified through dental records. The California Highway Patrol is taking a beating from some 200 car drivers. They're frustrated and angry Romano residents. Brian Pennings with the California Highway Patrol says they've lined up along the 67 from Palo Road waiting to be allowed back home. She said the charges are still, they haven't said what's going on.
It was scheduled for it. Say, you'll probably disagree with me on this one. That's okay. I have sprinting and braving in. Just because we can't see it. Now, again, I'm not an expert. You know, braving has stuff in. I just, I wouldn't want to. Two games and, you know, you get half of them at home. Uh-huh. With football, the NFL season is only 16 games long. You only get eight games at home. And people pay a premium for tickets. And so all the people that have tickets for those eight home games would have to be refunded for one of those. games and that's a big and it's not really fun like you're giving up one of your home games you know so they're trying to make it as close as bad san diego like the idea of doing it monday night only problem would not that not that not that on sunday the air quality is going to be great you know what i mean but i guess i think every single game that's better it's a lot of stuff involved oh man so they've got to figure all that out i mean it's friday it's like the tickets to the game could be saying that just as easily i don't want to play in that
Two listeners that were allowed to come in today. We did P1 trivia for it yesterday. We didn't do it on Monday, obviously, because of the fire stuff. But we need to do some write-down names so that I know who's who. Right up to the microphone, bro. What's your name? Mark, how old are you? 24. 24. That would be P1 Erica. P1 Erica, how old are you? Yeah. Hey, Erica. Big 2-0. There you go. 570-1053 is the number. You can give us a call. P1 Jeremy, what's up? We're having transmitter problems. We know that we have the engineers on the way to the transmitter. It's a product of the fire stuff. And sometimes that happens. They go up there and they fix it. In the meantime, we'll be broadcasting live here from P-I-O-Z-O-N-F-M. And welcome to the program. It's a wonderful way to open the house tomorrow. We will be in front of you on the morning line of the Diamond Zone. Thank you so much for tuning in. And don't forget to drink pelvic tea at night. Hope you sing as well.
I'm surprised. Oh, they're going to be normal as necessary for a brilliant job. Over now. There you go, Jeremy. Okay, well, I'm Jesse. What's going on? The guy was saying that they're letting people back in, but they're more careful about the water. Yeah, don't drink the water. Don't drink the water. It's like Mexico right now. What could happen was, like, come here, like, brush your water. He was blue at a water pump. That's what I'm talking about. Yeah. Investigation, it turns out that they need to change that. So that, you know, I mean, sort of like, tational, sort of like, uh, like, Schwarzenegger has California in mind. Now, for the first time, and he's going like, we don't know everything or that stuff today. My concern was specialists because he was delayed in his, um, terms of doing things. And we're real jealous of other parents that had, like, kids that were nine or ten months old that were doing things like...
These three things are really important. Clapping, pointing, off the air. I mean, it was like a ominous out. Because we were concerned something was wrong with Jake. And in the last, I'm not kidding you, three or four days, Jake is clapping, pointing. He's saying, Mama? Well, like, where did this come from? Yesterday, she said, there was, see, there wasn't a connection. There wasn't like a real connection going on with Jake. And she said yesterday. We have this toy that has a door that looks like a little toy house. And the door opens up and closes. And it's got a little pretend doorbell on it. Well, Rebecca was ringing the doorbell. And she said, who's at the door, Jake? Is it Grandma and Grandpa? And as soon as she said that, he perked up and he crawled over to where the little protective gates are. And he was looking at the door because that's what we say when Grandma and Grandpa come over. Grandma right there? And he said, hello.
And when he realized that they weren't there, he burst into tears. And she said it was sad, but at the same time, like, oh, my goodness, this cat is making these connections. And I said to her, I go, babe, we've got to quit tripping out. Absolutely, man. So when he was doing, like, oh, we were so happy he was doing stuff. Oh, baby. Man, I know it. I know it. I just, I can't wait until. Like, Russell, Microsoft, up in sales, you know, he's got a couple of kids. And whenever parents say to me stuff about, like, their kid talking to them, like, oh, man, I can't wait until Jake can communicate. Like, him right now just saying mama is rad. I just, I'm so stoked about it. Okay, so a couple things. NBC is doing a benefit, and I want to talk to you about NBC's benefit, and I'm actually going to be on TV today.
And I don't want to because I'm insecure and I'm fat and I don't want to be on television because I'm so overweight. It was like God was talking to me and going, put your own fat issues aside and just go do this because it's going to help. So I'm going to be on TV this morning and Kimberly King invited me down and NBC's doing this whole thing this morning to raise money. They want cash and money. So we'll talk to you about it and tell you exactly what it is right after this.

So we'll try to find out before you, bro, and we'll let you know, okay? All right. All right, thanks. There's a lot of entertainment stuff I find fascinating today that I chose to find fascinating today. The Scarlett Johansson story is real bizarre. The David Copperfield rape victim thing is real bizarre. Is this actually the TMZ audio that we have? Is that actually the woman that's claiming that he... No? There's another woman who says that she's 16.
That doesn't really sound like he did anything bad. It sounds like you're a real lucky fan. Like, you got to go back, meet him, and sign your stuff. Yeah, like, what did he do wrong? Right, well, do you hear, you know, what she's saying? She's taking this leap that, like... Because she was married. She would have been raped if she wasn't married? Yeah, I mean, I'm for sure that if I wasn't married, then we would have had intercourse. Hey, lady, like... How do we know about you anyway? What did you do? Like, call somebody or let someone know? I just want people to know that, um, okay. I mean, he's innocent. Maybe he isn't. What we do know is that they took two mil in cash from a warehouse he had. Two mil in cash? That's got to look like a lot, you know?
And was it all bundled up in those little paper bundle things and, like, money brick? Yeah, and then wrapped in, like, that saran wraps looking stuff. And on a pallet? Yeah, on a pallet. How was it? Oh, yeah, it was most efficient. Yes. The other stuff that we're going to talk about is there's a lot of very interesting Britney things floating around. So we're going to get into that. A lot of sports. We're trying to get somebody from the Chargers on. Because we want to know. But where are the Chargers playing this weekend? So all of this stuff is stuff that we're going to be trying to begin with.
No, I thought it was Wycliffe's shot. Sky has no idea what these are. Like, we don't do it. It's not like we set it up and we're like, okay, Sky, here's the answer so the listener can win. A lot of times we'll be playing for you. And she's taking her headphones off, turn down the volume on those headphones, Sky. We cannot have you hearing. Actually, you cannot have you hearing. No, I've never taken it. No, Rachel, okay. Are you ready, Ashley?
I do not need to kill you anymore. Now you will know exactly what's going on. How did we figure out that I was going to know that five of them have gone on and that we have a winner? I'm going to hold them up. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're going to hold them up. Okay, perfect, perfect. This is going to go better than you ever got in the book. Here we go. What's up, John? These guys sell us a month in car insurance and drop it down to practically $150 a month and a half or $22 from a dealer. Why? I cannot thank you enough. No, that's cool, dude. Don't you think by us, dude. Sometimes people, they hear me talking about AIS so much, they don't realize that there are real people out there that are saving the dough, and you're one of them. Because AIS is like a broker. Yeah, I didn't even realize that they were a brokerage. That's awesome. All right, here's the phone number. 1-800-777-4-AIS. That's 1-800-777-4-2.
47. Thank you, dude. I appreciate the phone call. Hey, no problem, Mikey. All right, man. We'll see you. This is the official home of the Mikey Morning Show. Five, three. What is that? You know stuff. Check the pan on her pot. He means panda. That's short for panda. Duh. Sean, the panda's fine. Yeah. There's nothing wrong with it. Check the beaver. Oh, wait. Hello. On it. Bad idea. Still stupid. Okay, ass, whatever. Oh, no! We've been phasered. What happened? And Sean Sean as the beaver. Wow, that's funny. Screw you. We're having a good time, man. Yeah, we don't know what the problem is with the sound of the radio station, but the engineers are trying to fix it. Yeah.
How did it get this way to begin with? Like, you know what I mean? Weird morning. It is. Is Friday Night Lights on tonight? Yep. Yes, I got it. I have a lot of catching up to do. I only have about 13 episodes and I'll know, you know. You'll be all caught up. Yeah, I'll be all caught up. I only have to watch about 13 and then I'll know exactly what's going on. Oh, Sky, I never asked. Oh, I never asked you. What was it like watching Friday Night Lights last week after you had just had. The guy that plays Riggins, you know, the guy that you're really attracted to on the show. Right. And he called and surprised you and wished you a happy birthday last Friday. What was it like watching the show that night? And did you watch it with your husband? Yes. Always watch the shows with the hubby. It was weird because, like, I never know how to handle things because my husband gets up at a different time every morning. So I'm never quite sure about.
what he actually hears and what he doesn't hear. So you don't even know if he heard you talking to him. So occasionally, you know, I'll bring it up or sometimes I'll just like wait till he brings things up. Why would you ever bring it up? When is the appropriate time to ever bring it up? How would that work? Well, it depends on, see, my answer depends on whether he's listening. Eddie, why would she ever bring something to his attention that he maybe didn't know? She's weird like that. She'll do that every once in a while. And I'll say to her, why would you even say that? And she thinks, oh, well, he would have figured it out anyway. Because if he then hears about it and I didn't mention it. Now, wait a minute. Now, Sky, if he gets jealous, maybe sometimes for women, it's a loving feeling when their husband shows a little jealousy. It kind of feels nice. So when you bring it to his attention, he gets a little jealous. It kind of feels good. It's a little bit of a nice thing. Yeah, he doesn't really get jealous. He's not really a jealous type. Like somebody actually has to physically touch me for him to, you know. So with this case, with the Riggins case and the Friday Night Lights,
um we were having dinner before watching friday night lights and i said to him i was like oh yeah did you hear they had riggins call in this morning and he goes no why why would why to talk about the show and i'm like well yeah it's like that and it was also kind of like he wished me a happy birthday and he goes well why would he how did he know it was your birthday So he had no idea that you were very attracted to him. I mean, the fact that Mikey got you a Riggins jersey. Yeah, didn't he go off? Well, see, he didn't know that at that point. Because this was on Friday. I didn't get the presents until Monday. Oh, honesty. How is that not honest? How is that not honest? I told him I didn't have to say anything. What did you say? I just said, oh, did you hear? I called in. And he goes, no, I didn't hear that. Why was he calling in to promote it? And I was like, well, yeah, I'll sort of wish me a happy birthday. And he goes, well, how did he know it was your birthday? Why would he do that? And I'm like, oh, well, you know, one time I mentioned he was hot. And then the guys like totally blew it out of proportion. And you know how the guys do that and they make it into something it's not. Oh, wow. So it's not that. So it is honest.
How did he react? Oh, cool. That's nice. That was cool. That was nice of him. So was he a cool guy? Yeah, he was totally cool. Okay, let's watch the show. Oh, you're so hot. Were you uncomfortable watching the show when he was on it? Yeah. What were you thinking? Unwifely things. What? Oh, my goodness. I'm just saying. What did he think of the Riggins? Did he ask any questions when you, because I got you a jersey that says Riggins on it. It's from. Right. Well, he didn't know about that until, gosh, I think Wednesday. Wednesday, Tuesday. I don't know. Because of the whole fires, and then we spent the night. And so the present stayed in the trunk of my car until we came back home. I believe it was on Wednesday when we came back home. And so he goes, oh, what did the guys get you? You never told me what the guys got you. And then I'm like, oh, my God, he got me this cool Friday Night Lights shirt. Oh, cool. Yeah, he got me this Riggins jersey, and his face just kind of crinkled. I don't get it. Why? Why Riggins? Yeah. I thought you were a big Saracen fan. Yeah. Yeah.
Let's see. Good times. This email subject is Daughtry. Mikey, Daughtry has writing credits on 10 of the 12 songs on his CD. He wrote the song Home all by himself. Wow. All by himself? All by himself. You don't say. It's all grown up. It's amazing. Mikey, just wondering, if Ramsey Shaq behind Skye's mansion burned down, would she let him sleep? At the foot of her bed, sign P1, Popcorn Chimp. Ridiculous. How dare you, Popcorn Chimp? What a ridiculous question. How dare you? Of course I wouldn't. Duh. He has quarters, whether they're burned or not. Aw. You either have, they're either workable quarters or what we call burnt quarters. You're going to sleep in them, though. Don't make me sleep in the ashes. You're my white man-server, Ramsey.
You must sleep out there. No. Yes, you have to curl up in your little Ralph Lauren sleeping bag and go night-night. Please don't mix me. Yes, and take off your golf shoes, for goodness sake, before you enter. I don't know anyone named Ramsey. You're so white. Never had a manservant. My manservant, Ramsey. Hello. Mikey, I was wondering if you could pass the word on to listeners that we are offering our services at a substantial discount for the fire victims. We do demolition. deodorization, fire and water damage, cleanup, ozone, etc. The office number is 619-847-1835. If you could please put that out there, I would appreciate it. Does it say the name of the company or no? It's in the subject line, I think. It is Restored 24-Hour Emergency Service. Is that the name of the place? Yes. Yeah. Restored 24-Hour Emergency Service. That's way cool. 619-847-1835. Hey, Skye, don't you have info about the best way to go about cleaning up this ash at your house and all that stuff? Yeah. And to be honest, I wish I would have read this yesterday because when I came home yesterday, my husband was doing quite a few of the things they say here.
to do um well because it's just common sense you know you just think you pull out your normal vacuum or you just sweep stuff up but you know some of this ash you don't want that getting in your lungs that's really bad so okay some of these let me say what i would have done and you tell me if i would have done the wrong thing because the people that uh cut the yard came by yesterday and they did it all and i was like whoa like we didn't ask them to oh wow they just cleaned everything like cleaned it spotless But my plan was to wait because I was like, I don't know, this stuff is done yet. So I'm going to wait until it's done and probably next week I'll try to dig in. But what I was going to do was just sweep it with one of those big, long sweeper broom handle brooms. I didn't want to blow it with a leaf blower because I knew that would just send it everywhere. I didn't even think about vacuuming it, but I wouldn't vacuum it because I don't want to ruin my vacuum. I would think it would ruin my vacuum. So my plan was to sweep it with one of those long, handled, big, wide sweepers. And that's a good plan, as long as you cover all your skin and wear a mask while you do that. I was not going to cover my skin. I was going to wear one of the masks. Good. So, yeah. What about your pool? Do you have a cover for it? The guy came out, man. Just cleaned it? Yeah, he cleaned it. Wow. Cool. Yeah, the pool guy came out and he cleaned it. Yeah. I called it the lagoon. It was so disgusting.
Yeah, my parents' pools like that, too. Yeah, I was calling it the lagoon. It was, like, black. It was just, the whole bottom of it was just covered in soot. The top of it was this big, thick, like, inch layer of slime. Yeah. It was so gross, man. Yeah. So, the health department is reminding people, of course, don't allow your children to play outside unsupervised because they can easily, you know, end up playing in a pile of ash. Any toys you have outside for your kids, make sure you wash those down really, really good before you let your kids start playing with them again. Of course, bathe your pets if they've been outside so they're not bringing that ash inside and it's healthier for the pets. When you're going to clean up, wear gloves, long-sleeved shirts, long pants. After you're done cleaning up, make sure to wash your skin off. Avoid getting ash into the air. Like Mikey said, don't use a leaf blower or anything to clean up the ash that is just going to blow it back in the air. I mean, I thought of it like it did occur to me. But then I was like, oh, no, that's bad, man. That'll blow it all over the place. But my first thought was, oh, this will be easy. I have a low powered leaf blower. It's like 40 bucks at Home Depot.
No, don't do that. Regular vacuums do not filter out the small particles. Again, it just kind of blows them back into the air. So if you're going to use a vacuum, it needs to be a high-efficiency vacuum with the HEPA filters in it. This is interesting. They say plastic bottles of liquid that have ash on the outside of the plastic, just throw them away. Any kind of plastic bottle with liquid? Yeah, of liquids that have been covered with ash should be thrown away. Huh. So, okay, you know, better safe than sorry. Now, I'm trying to think of what that would be. I mean, obviously, anything you would drink. Right. Obviously, like if you had a two-liter thing of Coke that was sitting outside in your garage or something and it got covered with ash. Right. But what else would constitute, like maybe bleach. If you had, maybe if you, in your backyard, you had bleach that you were going to use. That's plastic. That's liquid. If it's covered in ash, throw it out, they say. They don't specify. They just say plastic bottles of liquid. Of course, food that wasn't stored in a waterproof or airtight container. Okay, so wait a minute. So you're telling me. That was hit with ash. Wait a minute. So you're saying if I had a steak sitting in my backyard. Hold on. Yeah. A nice piece of steak. A nice piece of steak. How does that go if you were to get it from a butcher? Yeah, how would you get it? So, ash. Yeah.
How would I get it from the butcher? You get a nice place to say. So if I have a steak out in my backyard and it's covered in ash, because that's what we were going to eat tonight. You mean a steak that's been sitting out there since Sunday night? Yeah, we were going to grill it tonight. That's news to me. It's better safe than sorry, Mike, in that case. Yeah, we had a bunch of chicken livers that were just sitting out in the backyard. Right? That we were going to stir fry tonight. Grubbin. I think that's fine. They didn't say, but you're saying if it's covered in ash, don't eat it. It enhances the flavor. Yes. And then in the coming days, this is just something that everybody should think about. Anything that has a filter, you want to address that. If you're talking about your car. The filters in your car, like the cabin filter and the air filters for the motor, those are probably gooped up. Like Mikey said, with your pool, put a new filter in the pool if you have the traditional type of pool filter. Your house, if you've been running your AC, get new filters because they're probably gunked up with some of that stuff. Yep, changed mine already. Oh, look at you. You're so manly. Yep, went in there and got my 1250 out. Oh, threw in a new 1250. Ah!
They're all out of the 1700s. I don't have to wait. Good. Supplies back. Just a couple things to keep in mind. What is this? This is like man talking? All right. Is that what a man sounds like when he talks? You get it. Oh, man. You're manly. Thank you. All right. Hey, by the way, thank you to Indigo Cafe and Catering. They brought by some delicious wraps. Yummy. Because when we have guests in the studio, we like to style them out with some cool stuff. P1 Mark and P1 Eric are in here. So breakfast provided by Indigo Cafe and Catering. And they do a great job. If you want to go and check them out for yourself, they are at 9353 Claremont Mesa Boulevard. And you can give them a call if you want to as well. 858-565-2388. It's good stuff. Very nice of them to bring that by. We have a lot of cool stuff coming up. You know, we've had an email that we've wanted to read here for a couple of weeks, and it keeps getting bumped by things like the fires. So I want to get to that. Eddie's going to be making his picks against the Charger girls. Also today, we're going to have the Battle of the Singers. Remember those two singers that called in yesterday? They're going to come in and sing against each other, and then we're going to let people text message whether they want to vote for one or the other. Yay!
By the way, if you want to join the P1 Text Army, text the word Mikey to 35253. Standard text message rates apply, but we don't use it for spamming you. Let me stop the music for a second. I want to make this really clear. As a matter of fact, I decided that I'm not even going to use it to promote our appearances. This morning, we're not going to promote appearances on it. We're not going to use it to plug things. We're not going to do it because I don't want it to be confused. I don't want anybody to ever think that we're using it in like any kind of salesy way. And I did promote Josh Lewin, the play-by-play guy, the Chargers appearance when his band was playing. And I also promoted like Sky when you and Ashley were out. But I thought about it after and I was like, you know, man, I just don't want P1s to think that I'm ever, shilling anything. I don't ever want that to be the case. The only time we're going to use this... Listen, I do not give your cell phone out. Period. Your cell phone number that you send to me to join the P1 Text Army, I'm not kidding you. A year and a half I worked on this thing to make sure it was perfect and that when you got texts from me that the texts were strictly about cool stuff on the show.
And that's what it is. So if you want to join the P1 Text Army, text the word Mikey, M-I-K-E-Y, to 35253 and get in on something rad. Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Sunday, live on pay-per-view. Miller Genuine Draft is cold-filtered four times. The first step in the process is to cool it down to about 35 degrees. Then, the first time it goes through the filter, many of the impurities are removed, any elements that may leave a bitter or harsh taste. It gets filtered again, and it starts to get smoother. Its fresh flavor begins to develop. The third time we filter it, almost all of the impurities have been removed, creating a beer of remarkable clarity and pure golden color.
We then cold filter it for the fourth and final time. And oddly, baby. Believe it or not, we're actually seeing some traffic on our freeway through this morning and some fog that we haven't seen for quite some time. And it's awfully thick along the coastline especially. So give yourself some extra time and be careful with that. Right now, some break. That's out of the South Bay. That's 805 North. Slow from Plaza Boulevard off and on into the 15. Backs up again slightly through North Park. And now heavy coming out of Kearney Mesa. I'm sorry, out of Mission Valley. Up towards Murray Ridge, getting past that though, Mesa College, Balboa, you're good to go right now. Northbound 5 also bunching up toward that South Bay freeway up to National City. 94 looking good for you here, but way out east of the hill still shut down in through Rancho, California from Hammershop all the way up to Forest Gate. The northbound 67 is open, good news for Ramona residents. So if you're hitting that, just make sure you've got your ID with you. Northbound, make that Wildcat Canyon Road on both sides. It's open at Perona as well for a change here finally.
and the westbound 78s now open between Santa Isabel and Ramona. However, it is still closed eastbound into Julian. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. What's up, Johnny? Two quick things, man. One, thanks for all the info about Sleep Train, man. I just bought mine yesterday. You got a Sleep Train mattress? Oh, dude, just yesterday. Sleep comfort, man. Oh, you got the Select Comfort? Yeah, the Select Comfort, man. I slept for 13 hours, and I've never done that before. Oh, my God, dude. And I'm telling you, like, I wake up to... Listen, it's a good thing, but it's also a bad thing because you're not going to want to get out of bed. You get on one of those mattresses, you don't want to get out of bed. That's true. They are so damn comfortable. That's great, dude. And they take your old set out and all that? Yep. Yep. That's what they do. That's awesome. Thank you very much, man. This is a test of the emergency alert system. This concludes this test of the emergency alert system.
The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. Football helps me to forget any problem in my life. Eddie. That booty is delicious. Sky. Oh, my brain is so bad. Today. Sean. Thank you. Be quiet. Boston Rob. I have a ruler next to my mind. And Ashley. I'm a lady. The Mikey Show's on 105.3. I like this song. But as people know, I like some pretty gay stuff. Yeah. Welcome back. It is 743. The current death toll from the fires was raced to seven yesterday after four bodies were found in the Potrero area. The city says Qualcomm will be ready for Sunday's Chargers game. The NFL is just making the decision on whether or not it's safe to be played there. It could be played on Sunday or Monday. Oh, man, it's pretty smoky. Smoke it up. I just don't trust the air quality.
You know, the first big hit by Lifehouse, that was Lifehouse I was just playing. Oh, was it? Yeah, I really liked their first big hit. It sounded just like Creed. In fact, I thought they were going to call themselves Creed when I first heard it. Desperate for changing. This was one of those songs that I would play it, it would end, I would start it again, play it, it would end, and start it again. Chasing after you. I'm falling even more. Eddie, do you remember the moment you knew you were in love with your wife? Yes. You do? Yes. You remember the moment? Yeah. What was it? I came in here and I told Sky like the next day. Really? Yeah. And in fact, I said, I'm probably going to marry this guy. Yeah. It was such a trip because at that time, Eddie was enjoying his single status. Why do you have to say that? Well, I'm just painting a picture.
Nice moment. No, no. And then you came in that next morning and I was blown away because he did. He was like, I think I met my future wife last night. What happened? Well, nothing really. We were actually just hanging out at a bar. We were just, her and I, and we'd been going out for a couple months and I just had this weird moment where I was looking at her and I'm like, whoa, I'm looking at my wife right now. Really? Yeah. That's pretty cool. That's how it should happen. My wife said that the moment that that happened with me was when I told her that to go to sleep, I imagine I'm in a pod. Cute. Which is the truth. An oxygen filling pod. Pop comes down on the pod. The oxygen is released. I breathe the oxygen in and fall asleep. Do you remember about your wife? Yes. in South Vietnam. Uh-huh. At the time, I think they were still calling the place Milpitas. Oh. And, uh... Right. Rude. I was on the freeway. It's true. And, uh, realized that I was in love with Rebecca. You were on the freeway? I was on the freeway driving. Was anything happening? Were you talking to her? A song on the radio or something? That's crazy! And I texted her, and she didn't get the text right. You texted, like, I love you or something? Yeah, and she texted me back, and she was like,
I didn't get that. What is that? Uh-oh. It's the truth. She texts back, LOL. Laugh out loud. You're telling me a big fat lie. WTF. Brittany and K-Fed's big court date is today. So the courthouse is beefing up security. Wait, before we do that, did you know the moment that you fell in love with the boo? Oh, the bunny boo. Well, like I knew immediately there was this crazy connection because the first time he asked me out because we were both working together at the same restaurant. And I remember leaving because we were going to go on our first date that night. And I was walking out of the restaurant and I had the door open and I was saying goodbye to him. And I said something like, OK, bye. I'll see you tonight. And he said something about, you know, how much he was looking forward to it.
And I kind of like relaxed my arm because I was so like, oh, I'm looking forward to it. And the door bonked me in the back of the head. And all I'm thinking in my head is going, God, I hope he didn't notice that. Please, please. I don't want him to know that I just hit myself in the back of the head. So you're saying you were in love with your husband before your first date? So there were emotions there. But the second I knew it was concrete, love, love, love. Like from the beginning, I could tell you. that i just answer the question oh my god he just asked a simple question the first time we did it one question that is not true that's not true can that be true like the feelings were building and building and i knew that this was something really special but the first time that we made love i i knew like i it was just so big dude how can you walk away from that you can't right nothing else will compare after that And I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with that man. Did you just say you're sickening? I'm sorry. I can't believe you. It's true. It's true. Guys, that is so awesome. That is the best. I don't use those words. It would never be better than that.
I knew it would never be better than that. That's what your love is based upon? No, I knew all those feelings and emotions I was having at that time. No, all the feelings and emotions that I was having at that time, I knew that those feelings could never get more intense than that. That's what it looked like. It was touching. It was touching. That's for sure. Touching. Is that what you just meant? No. Did you see what she called? What did she? Oh, no. What? Oh, my God. And he just mouthed. He's in Connecticut. She called him. On the cell phone. She called him on the cell phone. I know you can't hear me right now, so I had to call you. But A, you're wonderful. And B, I love you. It's never going to get better than this. Hey, it's never going to get better than this.
That is so funny. Well, because I had just come out of a long-term relationship. So even though I was having these really strong feelings, I wouldn't allow myself to commit. But after that, I was like, I can't walk away from this guy. There's too much. The feelings are too strong. The feelings are too much. I meant the feelings were too much. I'm filled to the brim. I'm topping off. With feelings. Yes, that's what I call it. Feelings. Feeling it all over. Oh my goodness. Seriously.
It was magical. I don't know what you guys want. It was magical. You shut your filthy mouth. He's a wonderful lover. He's a wonderful lover. I didn't take his headphones off. I love it. I appreciate it. Here's audio of that magical night. Horrified by you. You are not horrified. I'm telling you I am. Sorry. Sorry I was honest. I don't insist. I love it, Skye. And then later on. Okay, thank you. Hey, Sean. It's bath. It's bath. I do love to take baths. What is that? This is unbelievable. Did you tell him that you felt these feelings? Magical? Did you tell him? Yeah, it was shortly after that that we said the I love yous and made a comment. We're having a cigarette. Yeah. So what was that, second date? No, we waited about a month.
To say I love you? Well, yeah. To make love, silly. Yes. To make love and to say I love you. You waited a month to make love? Yeah. And say I love you? Yes. It was all said at the same time. Wow. We did it all at the same time. No. I love you, boo. Well, he wasn't the boo yet. At that time, he was just known as Donkey. Shut up. Donkey. Donkey. Donkey. Donkey. I love that guy. He's the best. He's blessed is what she said. No, I said he's the best. Oh. All right. Enough. Come on, let's be adults here. Thank you. Yeah, can't we just for a second? What are we, children? Right, Mike? What are we, children? Grow up. Yeah, totally. Let's be adults here.
Beckham does. This is David Beckham's wife. Victoria Beckham. Sounds just like David. Yeah, which spice is she? Posh. Like anise spice or curry spice? Posh spice. She's posh. Is she all spice? Old spice? Old spice. She is now. Old spice. She was my favorite. So anyway, what she does is she goes to, is it Barney's? Yes. She goes to Barney's in Beverly Hills. Now, Barney's is an extremely high-end department store. And I mean high-end. Really expensive. And what she does is she, like, buys a ton of clothes. Then, because she's so tiny,
She has the clothes altered, tries them on, decides she doesn't like them and gives them back to the department store. And the department store is like, hey, thanks. Yeah. What are we going to do now with this size zero? I guess we'll throw it away. You can't read section. Well, you can't undo it and then like resell it. You can't like that's. It's wrong. Once it's altered to her body, I don't really know any other normal human being that has a body like that. I guess you can donate it to other size zeros. Right. They're not big fans of hers, but since she's a huge celebrity with a lot of money, they just let her keep doing it. Scarlett Johansson is dating Ryan Reynolds, the actor Ryan Reynolds. She recently had her wisdom teeth taken out. She had one of them dipped in gold. and made it into a necklace, and she gave it to him. No. It's the truth. Why? It's a true story. Because it was his birthday. I mean, I believe in the policy of honesty. I would say that's very morbid to me. Please, please take that horror movie prop away from me. Wow. Okay. Oh, go ahead, Rob. I was going to say, aren't wisdom teeth really long, too?
I've never had them taken out. Isn't the wisdom teeth the ones way in the back? Yeah. Yeah, I think they're long. It's just gross. It is gross. Okay. It's creepy, too. Two questions. Stop that. Stop that. It really upsets Rob. Keep it going. Okay. Two questions. What's creepy? I guess it upsets me, too. Keep it going. Oh, what an awful sound that is. Can't they invent a new drill at the dentist's office? This is the sound of the new drill. Oh, that's very nice. Getting my teeth taken out. Marathon, man. Or something that makes you laugh. That would be good. That music's the best. What's creepier? The Scarlett Johansson tooth or the Angelina Jolie vial of blood around her neck? That's a great question. What's creepier? The blood. Yeah? Yeah, because somebody could convince me that the tooth isn't real. Okay. But that's blood, and it looks like blood, and that's gross. Because I ain't lose blood. Okay, and how does this affect the hotness status of Scarlett Johansson? It doesn't affect it at all. No. So in your mind, this doesn't change anything? She's still a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Okay. But that's an awful thing. There are beautiful women that do terrible.
terrible thing. And they're strange people. Some may even make the argument that the more beautiful they are, sometimes the crazier they are. Because that's crazy. What's craziest is that she thinks that that's real cute. Right. She thinks that's cute. He probably told her he thought it was cute, too. Oh, how do you say that to her face? He's going to say, oh, that's so... That's awesome. I would. Awesome. I would not have the honesty policy. What would you say, Rob? If that's what you'd say? Yeah. And that was it. Well said. Glad I asked. I don't know. Entertainment Weekly has a list of the most awesome action heroes. So we're going to do this. We're going to take a quick timeout. And when we come back... And people can call in and guess too. Are we talking characters or are we talking the actors? What are we talking? The way they list it is they give the actor's name and the movie. Okay. Okay. That's next. You guys get a lot of calls every morning that people pick on Sky or Ashley or giving Eddie or Sean stuff. Every one of you are great. Thank you. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock.

And either herself or members of her family are going to appear on Larry King Live tonight. On the phone, Erin O'Sullivan. Are you there, Erin? Hi, Mikey. How are you? I'm doing good, thank you. You're hanging in there? We're hanging in.
The photograph of you hugging your mom is a very, very difficult picture to see. It really, really shows the emotions that you guys were all going through. It's a picture of you guys standing, I'm guessing, in what was left of the house on Aguamil Road in Rancho Bernardo. Did you live there with your mother, or is this just your mother's house? You live somewhere else. No, I grew up there and then, you know, moved away to college, worked in Santa Barbara for a while. And I've been back there for about three years with my parents, just saving money and, you know, living with them. So that was, you know, my house as well. When did you first become aware of the fire, Sunday or Monday? The immediate danger to our home, that fire was Monday morning. very early i mean i went to bed that night knowing about the ramona fire there was smoke in the air but never would have dreamt it would have moved to us that quickly so when did you get a call to evacuate i'd say roughly 4 30 4 35 we got the reverse 9-1-1 thank god and you you left immediately um not immediately my father actually went outside and looked down the street and there was no fire that we could see at that time and so he you know he started packing up a couple things um
getting ready and then i don't know my concept of time that morning is really off but maybe 45 minutes later i went to carry something out to my car and there was ash and effort and flames on my street and i ran inside i said you guys don't understand this is here this is now we ended up running out the door leaving the things we had packed like you know the the pictures and the grandma's jewelry because all of a sudden it was just there we couldn't believe how quickly it moved so At this point, are your neighbors all standing outside as well? Oh. Yeah, what's going on? People are just running. I mean, a lot of the people cleared out as soon as they got the call, which we should have done as well. So a lot of the people had cleared out, but people were just running frantically into their cars. Our next-door neighbor never got their reverse 911, so my dad went 15 minutes after my mom and I took off in our separate cars. My dad went around knocking on doors, making sure people got out. Our next-door neighbors never got their call. They were asleep with their children in the house. Now, are you neighbors with Amy Fosek? No. Maybe she lives on our street, but I don't know. Okay, because Amy Fosek has been somebody that I've seen on a lot of the different news, and she's also listed in the story in the Union Tribune that you're listed in, Erin. And so I wondered if you guys maybe knew each other or were in the same neighborhood. But you're saying that people are kind of...
all scattering, getting out of there. And so you and your family, you guys left in separate cars? Yeah, we all left in separate cars. I grabbed the dog, my mom took off, and then my dad was about 15 minutes behind us. And we got separated. I was the last person they let up the main road, West Bernardo Drive, and that was just in flames. And I was the last car that the policeman let up. And my mom pulled up behind me and said, no, you need to turn around. So at that point we were separated. Yeah, so we didn't see each other until hours later off the 56th. Oh, wow. Okay, so that's where they sent you guys. And what was the coordination like? Yeah, when we got our reverse 911, they sent us to the Westfield, Westview, I can't remember the name, the high school right off the 56th. But basically, we were petrified because we were scared of getting trapped in San Diego when we were trying to escape. I had just driven through the fire, and I get to the top of the street, and the traffic stopped, and all I can see in my rearview mirror is fire, and we can't go anywhere. And I just thought, I don't want to be in San Diego. There's a fire on the 78. I want to be north of the 78. I want to be in Orange County. So we separately drove up to Orange County to just get out of town. We were just too scared of being stuck here. And were you guys communicating through cell phone this whole time? Yes, we were. Okay, so when do you guys...
go back when were you allowed to go back and did you know that your house had been destroyed before you got there you know we our street was the most covered street throughout this whole thing my home i watched my home over and over again on cnn nbc nightly news i could see my house so we were very well prepared um you know hours after evacuating we knew our home was gone we'd seen it with our own eyes um so when we yeah when we got back Let's see, Wednesday, early evening, we were allowed in for like 10 minutes by police escort. And that's where you saw that picture. We were allowed in really, really briefly. And so we knew that we were pretty much, we were well prepared. Was it your mother? Compared to our friends. Was it you, your mother, and your father, or were there more people living in the home? Just the three of us. And the photograph shows you and your mother. And I definitely can see that you guys are going through so much. How are your mom and dad coping? You know, my dad's doing pretty well. He's very task-oriented, so he's just really been awesome. My mom is the one who really breaks my heart because she's an only child and her parents are only children, so she has nothing. My dad could call his brothers and sisters for pictures, but she has nothing, not a memento.
from her family, you know, not a baby picture, not a picture of her mother. And the couple pictures she grabbed was, you know, her parents' wedding picture and stuff. She has nothing. So she's been the one out of the whole thing who's really had the hardest hit out of our family. We're talking to Erin O'Sullivan. And Erin, are you going to be on Larry King tonight? You know, that was last night. And I kind of, honestly, we were just constantly kind of sworn by cameras as we were digging through our house. So I kind of, was a little bit done. So I just took off. My mom, dad, and sister were on Larry King last night. Yeah. Was there anything left? Was there anything that you were able to salvage? It's so funny because my house is in, I mean, absolute ruins. There's nothing standing, not a wall, nothing. And the one thing that we found so far that survived was our China, our family China. The most delicate thing in the whole house is what survived. Yeah, and when we were babies, my brother, sister, and I, we were all given a different little set of, like, children's china that we used at every Christmas, every Easter, every Thanksgiving. And each of us, that mug from that set, each of ours were intact. A little bit burned and blackened, but intact. And that's just, you know, we said if we could walk away with one trinket from our history, we'd be happy. And we found that, so we were happy. How about your neighbors? Have you talked to any of your neighbors, and how are they coping?
My neighbor, I mean, this has really brought us all together so much. I'll never look at my neighbors the same way. I just feel so much closer with them. Our next door neighbor, it's such an amazing story. The fireman broke his windows of his house and pulled out pictures. of his daughter pictures from the wall wrapped it in a blanket and left it on the front lawn so no yeah i heard a fireman doing that if they had a little bit of time and they knew the house was going to be a goner they would run in and grab whatever they thought was maybe a value and then put it out on the lawn that just oh my god that's one of the most amazing things i've ever heard through this yeah yeah that's that that is amazing honestly i just told people it's really hard right now but Years from now, when I look back at this experience, the thing I will never forget is how good people are, how good those folks are. I mean, my friends have pulled together and made, like, an online donation and raised me over $1,000. People are so good, and that's the one thing I will take away from this for the rest of my life. What is the plan now, Erin? What's next for you? Well, first of all, where are you and your family staying now? I'm at a hotel in Carmel Mountain Ranch right now.
trying desperately to find a place to rent but you know i don't know how many 11 1500 people families are displaced so all the rentals have just been snatched up so we're we're trying to find a little place to rent we're just living at a hotel right now do you have family my sister's in riverside my parents have a family business here in rancho bernardo so it's a little bit too far i teach up in Temecula. So I can maybe make that work, but I kind of want to stick with my parents right now. Yeah, you know what, Erin? Let me get your email address. I may have... something for you in Rancho Bernardo. Oh, God, thank you. Yeah, it's in Rancho Bernardo. Yeah, my grandmother, you know, I don't know how old you are and maybe they'll make exceptions, but my grandma was in the process of remodeling her home in Rancho Bernardo and she didn't know if she wanted to sell it or rent it and she was very lucky because the fire just went like a block within her and her house didn't get touched.
And so my mom and I were talking that we know that there are really people who are going to want to rent that property. So, um, get me your email address, you know, send me an email. It's sky. We'll put you on, we'll put you on hold and we'll get your phone number, Aaron. We'll get all the information we need from you. Yeah. And I'll have sky communicate with you cause, uh, they might be able to help you. Um, so what, what is next? What is the process for you guys in terms of, uh, insurance? Have you guys discussed that? And what, what is, what are the steps that you guys begin? Huge. I mean, FEMA, Red Cross, insurance, rebuilding. I mean, it's just paperwork, and you start out with the tiniest thing. You start out with a toothbrush and toothpaste and underwear, and then you start looking at, okay, now FEMA, now Red Cross, now insurance, now where am I going to live? So it's just a whole big, big, big process. Erin, do you and your parents have enough clothes? Were you able to get enough clothes? Um, my mom walked out with the shirt on her back. I had my laundry basket sitting right by the front door because I was going to do laundry. So I actually grabbed, I have like, you know, stuff. So we're okay for clothes right now. We've made some target trips and we have enough to, to get, you know, get us through the next couple of weeks. Addie got a question. Yeah, Aaron, what's, what's the one thing that you lost that you were like totally bummed you weren't able to grab out of your house? Oh, like I said, my mom's parents cares because there's nobody else who has that.
And my grandma, we were so close with my grandma. And so I just, you know, I almost feel like there's no record in the world that she existed. It's just really hard that we have nothing at first. Is there a plan, Erin, to stay in San Diego? I mean, do you guys, even though this has happened, do you want to continue to live in San Diego? Rebuild or what? Honestly, there's no doubt. My mom always called Rancho Bernardo her little cocoon. Like, they love this little town. They have a family business here. So many friends. I mean, we just cannot fathom living anywhere else. And really, where we lived in Rancho Bernardo, it's not out in the sticks. It's not in a fire country. You know, it's a little city. So we felt really, I don't know, we feel like we have pretty good odds of this not happening again. So we're going to rebuild. It'll take about two years and we'll be back. That's awesome. Erin O'Sullivan, listen, I got to tell you, first of all, how old are you? 27. I'm really kind of marveling at your spirit and how resilient you sound, and you sound great. I know that you're going to be fine just from talking to you for a little bit, and my best to you and your family. I'm going to put you on hold, and we're going to get information, and then we're going to get you in touch with Skye, and maybe she can get you guys in a place.
Oh, thanks so much. You bet. Aaron O'Sullivan, hang on the line, okay? Okay. That's Aaron. Wow. Man, that is a really, really amazing story when you think about it. All the stuff that they've gone through and the long road ahead. There's just a very long road ahead. It's just one of how many stories, man. That's what's crazy about this whole thing. So many people affected by it. I'll tell you what, though. That was really encouraging. To hear that somebody can go through something as terrible as what she's gone through and still sound like that. She's so chipper. I know. I almost, I don't know. She was great. It's great. Mind people that NBC 739 is doing a benefit right now for the fire victims. It is downtown San Diego at the NBC building. Yeah. I'm going to be going down there when the show is over, and I'll be on Street Side San Diego this morning at 11 a.m., and we encourage people to go down there and donate money. It'd be really, really great. You could be helping people like Aaron O'Sullivan. One way or another, and I'm going to echo these sentiments later when I give my testimony at 10 a.m., but one way or another, we're going to get through it. It's a Mikey Show. Mikey Show is on...

The Commissioner of the More Taste League. Every day, untold numbers of men spend game day clasping so-called light beers. Light beers so full of carbs and calories, I have to direct my rugged commish hands to make those little finger quotes in the air. Some of these light beers, there I go again, can contain double the carbs of Miller Lite with considerably less taste. That's why I formed the MTL Nose Program, a beer community outreach program set up to communicate awareness of the fact that I am indeed aware. I know whether you're wrapping your fingers around an L-I-T-E beer with 3.2 grams of carbs and robust beer taste, or whether you've got those fingers daintily up in the air in some silly quotation mode. Do you know of anyone drinking a quote-unquote light beer? I do. And you can bet they'll be hearing this. That's the sound of tough beer love. Drink the official beer of the More Taste League. The Leo is the very first diamond to be independently measured and certified for its superior brilliance, and is the culmination of four generations of hand-crafting diamonds by the master diamond artisans at Leo Schachter. I shave my head bald. I'm atrocious to look at, and I have a good sense of humor. Eddie. I hate anything that takes effort. Sky. I'm sorry I talk like an old human. Sorry, I apologize. Sean. The sky's right. Boston Rob. I got Boston on my mind.
And on your throat. Ashley. I despise theme parties. They make me really uncomfortable, and I hate them. The Mikey Show's on Rock 105.3. Honor of the World Series going on right now. This is actually a very recently recorded song by Curt Schilling. That doesn't sound gorgeous. That's what he sounds like when he's seen it. It's kind of like those people who stutter, but then when they sing... Yeah, it's like Mel Tillis. It's exactly the same thing. Love it. Welcome to the show. It is 9.05. Today's the big court day for Brittany and Kayfed. The courthouse has beefed up security for the big day. Where are we going to play? Where are we going to play this football game? The city says Qualcomm's going to be ready, but the NFL still hasn't made a decision. There you go. Let's do this. It's time for picks. It's time for Eddie's picks. The Oracle of...
And for the fourth week in a row, I do not have picks in front of me. It's fantastic. Where is that idiot? No, it's okay. It's under control, Mike. Where's Zed? That guy. Thank you, Zed. Alright, it is time to do picks with the San Diego Charger girls. Girls, I'm going to let you know that Eddie lost last week by a game to you, Charger girls. Wow. I still have the season lead by a lot. Well, with your funky math, you do. Funky math? What are you talking about? Well, if we're comparing weeks, win or lose, based on the whole week's worth of games, it would be tied right now. How is that possible? That's not true either. There's been seven weeks. How could we be tied? Because she wants it so bad. Because you each won three, and then you tied the seventh.
In the studio with us right now, we have Kirsta. Yes. Is that correct? Yes. And we have Constance. Yes. Kirsta is a blonde charger girl, and Constance is a brunette charger girl. I like to paint the visual. I like to paint the visual. Both of them are so beautiful, it's hard to look at them for very long. Like, you do, and then you go, okay, I can't look anymore because they're too pretty. More paint. But here's the deal. You guys are going to be picking against Eddie. And each week what we've been finding, ladies, is that the boyfriends have been picking. No. That is not happening this time? That's happening. You have to see their notebook. Oh, no. They're picked with their notes. That is probably the nicest penmanship of NFL notes I've ever seen in my entire life. Let me see. Hold it up. Oh, my goodness. Look at that. That's great. Oh, my goodness. It really is. Like, it's all perfectly written out, like, really beautifully. They're good students. That was all Kirsta. Wow. Wonderful penmanship. Yes. Well, thank you. Yes. My pleasure. Okay. So, ladies, you're telling me you had no outside help with these picks. You did these picks on your own.
Oh, no. You can see the guilty smile. Why do you lie, liar? I'm my own woman. I can make it my own mind. It's just like turning on ESPN. Kirsta is smiling right now. A very guilty smile. She doesn't even have a boyfriend. Leave her alone. Kirsta, where did you get the pics? Way to rub it in, Michael. I researched. It's called the internet, Mike. Well, let's begin. All right, Charger girls. Indianapolis at Carolina. The Colts, definitely. Eddie? Let me look at my notes. I will take Indianapolis as well. Okay. Eddie? We're trying to peek at our notes. He does that every week. It's already sent in. Sean already has it. It's already on the website. It's already on the website. Okay, phony website. Eddie Cleveland at St. Louis. This is kind of one of my upset specials this week. To win their first game, I'm picking St. Louis. Charger Girls.
We're going to go with the Browns. Really? So we've got a disagreement. Is it a safe pick? Wrong. It's a good pick. It's a smart pick. Eddie, the Giants at the Dolphins. In London. What? In London. The game is being held in London. So what time will that be? Like 6 o'clock at night there or something? Tea time. I don't know. I don't know the time difference. But I will take the New York Giants. Tea time. Same. Charger Girls, you're going with the Giants as well? Why are you going to say your little note things on there? Yeah, I want to hear what you guys wrote. Don't you break it down at all? Come on. What's going on? Come on, Kirsten. I want to know what you guys wrote. What were your notes by the Giants Miami? What were your notes? That's not a good one. No, that's a bad one. We'll explain our notes on the next one. Oh, no. Awesome. All right, Charger Girls. Philadelphia, Minnesota. Let's see. Where do we have that one? Minnesota. Eddie? I disagree. I am taking Philadelphia. Now, what's your notes on that one, then, ladies? Don't the Vikings have a running back that's supposed to be rookie of the year? His name is Adrian Peterson. Hey, enough with the condescending tone. You don't need to be condescending to our guests. You should have read your notes. Eddie, Pittsburgh at Cincinnati. I'm taking the Steelers in that one, Mike. All right, ladies? Steelers as well.
All right, Charger Girls, Detroit at Chicago. I'm going to go with the Bears. The Bears. Eddie? I kind of wanted to take Detroit in this one, but I like Chicago at home. I'm going to take Chicago. Eddie, Oakland at Tennessee. Tough one. Vince Young coming back from injury. Raiders playing better, but I'm going to take Tennessee at home. Ladies? Tennessee. Charger Girls, Buffalo at the Jets. Buffalo. Eddie? Interesting. I will take the Jets. Wow. What do your notes say on that one, Eddie? The Jets are better. Oh, okay. I usually take the better team. Charger Girls, what were your guys' notes? Jets and Buffalo. Trent Edwards. There's a new quarterback, Trent Edwards. Well, he's been starting for three weeks, but... Semi-new. That's still semi-new. Fair enough. Fair enough, gals. Eddie, Jacksonville at Tampa, Eddie. Well, Jacksonville has probably the worst quarterback in the history of the NFL. Wow. What's his face? Quinn Gray. Quinn Gray? Yeah, well, David Garrard heard himself. I knew he heard himself. So this guy comes in, and he's got a tinted visor. He's a quarterback. He needs to see the field. Why do you need a tinted visor? That's the worst thing I've ever seen. It was a night game. The lights. The lights.
Dude, have you ever been on that field? Worst thing I've ever seen in my life. I'm taking Jeff Garcia, who still has not thrown an interception all season. Wow. Former Gilroy High Mustang. Yep. Tampa Bay. It's your boy. Yep. Take that for notes. Charger girls. We're going to go Tampa Bay. All right. Charger girls, who do you like in the Houston versus San Diego Chargers game? San Diego. Oh. No matter where we play, we're going to beat them. Are you sure? Eddie? Yeah, San Diego. Eddie, New Orleans at San Francisco. Alex Smith is back, but it doesn't matter. New Orleans will continue to roll and beat the 49ers. And Charger Girls. We agree. You guys agree. All right, Charger Girls, Washington at New England. New England. Eddie? I like Washington to finally cover the spread for the first time all year. It's 16 and a half, but I will take New England straight up. Wicked good choice. It's a winning team, Washington. Very good team. Good defense. It's a winning team. 16 and a half. 16 and a half points. What a disrespectful thing. This is crazy. By the way, is there a no night game? Because I don't see a night game. There is no Sunday night football because of the World Series, but there is a Monday night football game. Monday night football is Green Bay at Denver. Eddie, who do you like? I'm taking the most handsome man in the NFL. Talk about it.
Not with your heart, Eddie. I'm picking with my pants. Oh, my God. I'm not gay. I'm not gay. Charger girls. Ladies, I'm just telling you. You just want to sleep with Brett Fox. Really? So you guys are disagreeing on that game, too? Yes. You guys pick Denver? I think we embarrassed Denver pretty bad the last time we went up there. But they're not playing San Diego. Okay, now here's the games that you guys disagreed on. You're so rude. You disagreed on Cleveland at St. Louis. The girls took Cleveland. Eddie took St. Louis. You disagreed on Philly, Minnesota. The girls took Minnesota because they have that running back. Eddie took Philly. They disagreed on Buffalo and the Jets. The Charger girls took Buffalo. Eddie took the Jets. And they disagreed on Green Bay at Denver. The girls took Denver. And Eddie took Green Bay. So there it is. Ashley put it on the board. Well, ladies, good luck. And it really was awesome notes. I loved the way that the notes were written. They were really good. Now, Eddie, what are we doing? Are we taking a break, coming back with the guys that are going to sing? Yeah, let's do that. Okay, here's the deal. Yesterday we had, do you girls listen to the show? It's okay if you don't, but if you do, you might enjoy this. Do you listen or no? I honestly don't. You don't? It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. You should. Do you ever listen?
No, you don't? Well, yesterday, it's okay, we had these guys call in, and they said that they, we had this guy call in, right? And he goes, hey, Mikey, I wondered if you would let me sing on your show, because I'm a good singer. And I said, okay, well, sing for me. And he sang, and everybody really liked him. And I thought he was extraordinarily ordinary. Then, after we, I was being really honest. So then after that, we had this other guy call in. He said, hey, I heard that guy sing. I sing too. I said, okay, let me hear you sing. And the first thing he sang was kind of a turd. But then he said, can I sing you something that I wrote myself? He sang it, and I thought he was really good. And so we had them both come in today, and they're going to sing against each other. And then we're going to let listeners vote. They're going to text. Now, Zeth, do we know how to do the voting thing? They taught you? Yeah, they taught me. I've got to kind of mess around with it a little bit to work it out. Is there anyone else that's scared by that answer? I don't like it at all. You've got like three minutes to figure it out. Sounds credible. Will you be able to do it? Yes. If you screw it up, will you cry? Yes. Here is how you do this. First of all, you need to join the Mikey Show P1 Text Army. Girls, I'm going to make listeners out of you before you know it. You're going to love the Mikey Show. P1s are...

Who are you blowing up if you don't have a boyfriend? Just friends. Yeah, girlfriends. Lots of dudes. Girlfriends. Who do you text? Yeah, who do you guys text? What up? Teammates. Girlfriends. Girlfriends. There you go. So you guys got to do this. I'm telling you, you guys will end up being fans of the show because I'll send you something. And I'll even send you a link because most people nowadays can get the internet on their phone. Do you guys? Yeah, you get the internet on your phone. Overall, a fairly quiet ride once again in our freeways this morning. A couple of accidents now to be aware of, though. One on the southbound 15 before Amira Mesa Boulevard. This was in the fast lane for a time here. And sort of a bit of a slowdown there. And medical crews are on the scene. They're getting that out of the way. Another one on the westbound 52 past Convoy on the right-hand shoulder now through Kearney Mesa. And some closures remain in place here off the 76 freeway. Eastbound 76 rather closed from...
just east of the 15 all the way to the 79, and that includes parts of Palomar Mountain, which are still on fire right now. You've got northbound 67 still open up for Palomar residents with ID, and the Wildcat Canyon Road at Verona is also open up for you now as well. I'm Rick Lawrence with traffic and Rockwood 053. Wait a minute, so last year we went to this place in Guadalajara. It was this random little place off the beaten path.
We went to a place around there, too. Yeah, and they had taquitos just like these. Full of flavor, good texture. What are these, DeliMex? Yeah, the place we went had taquitos like these, too. Wait, did this place have a really big fish tank in the middle? Yeah, and the tortillas were pressed and grilled right on the spot. You know, these DeliMex taquitos taste a lot like that. Right. Oh, they were stuffed with this really tender shredded beef, just like these DeliMex. Remember the mariachi band? Oh, my God. Leave him alone. Oh, no. Help him. I was going to write him an email, but he doesn't have an email anymore. What? He doesn't have email? He does not. Wow. She made him get rid of it. Shut up. I'm not kidding. I don't believe it. No, I don't believe it. Oh, my God. And he does have email now. Oh, it's back? Will you IM me his email address? I don't know it. Shut up. I don't know it. We set it up the other day.
And he didn't like the one I picked for him, so he was going to change it. He didn't like the one I picked for him. Why do you lie? Liar. What did you pick? Oh, I have to know. Bunnyboo87? No. Like, his name, and then I was trying to find numbers, but none of the numbers he liked were available, and so I just... Well, the only one he... Mike. Oh, stop. I edited myself. Yeah. It's a dirty joke. I'm not going to do it. I'll do it. No. Go for it. So anyway, I don't know which one he ended up going with. Well, Sky refuses to give him this information. That's brutal. So I now have to communicate with him on the radio. You leave him alone. He can get... Mr. Sky, your NFL Sunday ticket that you have, you can upgrade... I'm turning her off. You can upgrade to something called the Superfan. It does cost a tiny bit more, but it will give you... All those games in high definition. Oh, wow. It's all the games in high definition. In high def? Oh, she's making him watch them in standard def right now. I thought they had a high definition receiver. I'm such a monster. She's not making him do anything. No, she wasn't giving him the info. Come on. Now he's got the info. He's a big boy.
So are we ready to do this now? First of all, I need Zed to come over to the microphone. Come over to the microphone. Good luck. Who's Zed? Here we go. Zed, explain how this is going to work because even I don't know how it's going to work. Why does he only wear his headphones on one ear? He's cool like that. Are you a DJ? Yes. Like you spin in the one ear? No, because it doesn't work in one of them over there. No, he's cool like that. You don't know how it's cool to put the headphones on. Sometimes you wear one pant leg down. It's more like Gary Owens. Can we let the guy just alone just for one minute? Let him speak. He is truly Jason Neustadt of Metallica. Eventually, he's just going to quit the band, go solo. It's not going to work out. He'll want to come back, but we'll have a Mexican guy in the band by then. Okay, now, Zeth, how will this work? How will people vote? Because what we're going to do is we're going to have Reed, And Tyler performing on the radio. They're going to do their own music. And after they perform, we're going to let listeners vote on who was better. And the winner gets nothing. Congrats. Yeah. They get a pat on the back. Congratulations. I'll tell you what we'll do. What? The winner will get to promote whatever they want. Their MySpace page or whatever they want. Awesome. But how will this work?
We'll set up a thing where you can text and we'll send an outbound message saying you can vote for Reed or Tyler and then each of them will put a number to them, say one and two. Uh-huh. And then whichever one they vote for, they can text back either the name or the number and then it'll go to the corresponding guy. Okay, so Reed will be one, Tyler will be two. That's fine. So whoever you like, you just text that back and it'll be perfect. Sounds good. Oh, Shaquille O'Neal's doing the text thing. I vote for Kobe. The business. Zed is just out of his seat. He just walked away from the microphone. He just walked away from the microphone. Poor little guy. He doesn't care. All right. Ashton, you're so awful. Let's get Reed in here first. The note that Zed made for him was that he's wearing a sweatshirt and he's shorter. Okay. Brilliant. Let's get Reed in here first. That'll help when they're sitting down. Mini-mini. Which one's the short one? Oh, just do like we do with Rob. Oh. Uh.
All right, come on in, Reed. And we've got to find out what they're going to be doing, what they're going to be singing. What is going on? I have no idea. Where are they, Rob? Tell me on the microphone. No, I told him, bring Reed in there. And he said, what's going on? Okay. Bring Reed in. Okay, come on, Reed. Come on, have it. Reed. Skye, was Reed the first or second guy that I talked to yesterday? I think Reed was the... first guy. Is that right, Reed? Yeah. Because he was the one giving the MySpace and we were trying to figure it out. Everybody loved him. I thought he was very ordinary, but I may change my opinion today. I may hear him today and be like, hey, you know what? You blew me away. Yay! So, Reed, tell me in the microphone, what are you going to be singing today? I'm going to sing an original. It's called Waiting. I wrote it a few months ago. About that movie? No, no, no. Actually, for somebody. You wrote it for a gal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's not about the restaurant business. No, this is not. Now, Reed, I'm going to tell you right now, it will help your cause to tell the story. So, dude, I'm being serious. I'm not joking. If you tell us what the deal is and who you wrote it for, why you wrote it, what it was about, it will help the song, and I'm not kidding around. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, totally. I was married, and we were both active duty Marine Corps.
And she ended up deploying. And it was just kind of like about missing her. About waiting for her, yeah. Okay. Yeah, see, that helps, man. I'm telling you, people dig that. Especially like chicks. You know what will help win Mikey over, too, is if you know any Ryan Cabrera. Aw, Ryan Cabrera. What? That wouldn't win you over? I don't know why you had to make that. I should at least stand up when you say stuff like that. Okay. All right, back in my place. Okay, so Reed, you got a guitar with you? Yeah, yeah, I do. All right, let's break that sucker out. Yes, I'm so excited for this. And then there's some headphones there, so if you feel comfortable wearing them, cool, and if not, you don't have to. Thank you, Sky. I just want to let him know. You're on the ball, Sky. When Reed is done... You're on the ball. When Reed is done playing... Okay. Oh, my God. Show him where the levels are. Can't they let you talk? Reed has got an acoustic guitar with him. And when he is done, we are going to do like American Idol. Going to judge him. Awesome. And then we're going to let listeners decide after they hear Reed and Tyler, we will not open the text messaging up until they've both performed. So, Reed, you may now perform Waiting. Awesome. I don't even know you. No, dog. I don't know, dog. Just didn't work for me. You know, I...
I produced a lot of albums with Mariah, Whitney. Okay, name dropper. We get it. You know what I'm saying, dog? We get it. Great name dropper. I don't know. I don't know, dog. It just didn't work for me. No. I thought that that was such a beautiful song. I was actually seeing purple unicorns go by when you sang that. And I think you have a bright future. Congratulations. All right. Now that the fluff is over, let's be honest about this, all right? You know, I think you've got a fine voice. There's nothing wrong with your voice at all. My thoughts on it were... On a minute! My thoughts on it were, you know, I mean, you're waiting, but you're shouting at her the whole time you're waiting, and I wondered why all the shouting. But, you know, your voice was good, and you definitely carried a song. I thought the words to this song were touching, and I think overall, not bad. Oh! not bad hey alright Reed we will need you to be escorted out of the room and we are going to let we're going to let Tyler come in here and perform not bad Reed it was really it wasn't bad my wife just my wife just instant messaged me in all caps I love him that's the story watch out my wife really liked it coming up next is Tyler and Tyler's got a guitar now I really liked Tyler yesterday uh
Yeah, I did too. He's got the look too. Does he? His look doesn't match this. I thought that his music was a little pop. And he looks a little bit more rock and roll than I expected. He's a little alternative. He definitely has more of an alternative tattooed kind of look. I was hoping he'd be a little bit more gay and effeminate. That's my thing. Just kidding. Have a seat, Tyler. I'm good, man. I got you guys some gifts. No, no gifts yet. No bribing. After, then we'll gladly accept them. All right. Now, Tyler, Reed just went. He did pretty good. The song was not bad at all. And so you got some pretty stiff competition. We really liked the way that you sounded yesterday. And so whoever wins, we're going to give you guys websites and let people check you guys out. And who knows? Maybe there's a record producer out there listening that likes you guys and wants to sign you to a record deal. And then you can give us points on the record. And forever, we will make money from you. That'd be great. So, Tyler, tell us about the song you're going to sing.
I'm going to sing this just then. All right. It's a song I wrote. Actually, it's the one I... You sang that yesterday. Yeah. Okay, so you're going to sing the same... Well, unless you guys want to hear a different one. Why don't you sing a different song that you... Give me an original. Cool. Actually, this is brand new. We haven't even played it at a show yet. Now, when you say we... Yeah, who's we? We... I'm in a band. Oh, okay. Okay, but today you're being represented as yourself. You're representing just you. Okay, so Tyler's in here. And tell me the name of the song you're going to sing. It's called Night of the Full Moon. Okay. And this is Tyler. There you go. Go ahead, Tyler. Go ahead, girl. Go close your eyes. You should know now, girl, that the darkness of the night defines the devil inside. And this is the night of the full moon. Your eyes close with an eye. You say so clearly this to you too soon. Sorry, baby, but it's too late. Blood was found to die. Days are forever. I want you to know. Bring this cool diet. You're saying so clearly you had to make me do this to you. Too soon. You do this to you. Had to make me do this to you. Had to make me do this to you. Too soon. Too soon. Rundy. Yo, dude, that was the boss. Holler is vomiting, but I think it's the pill. Oh, no. Give her a bucket. Holler.
Okay, I just ate a yogurt. It's fine. Tyler, that was amazing, and I hope you don't forget about us when you become a big, big star. Wow. All right, and now back to reality. Listen, listen. The truth is that clearly Tyler has the most polished voice of the two. However, if I'm being honest... I wasn't the craziest fan of the song. See the beatboxes on the guitar? I personally felt that Reed's song was more heartfelt. But Tyler, this is a singing competition. And so if we were judging strictly on singing, Tyler gets the vote. But the truth is, the song, not so much for me. I wasn't the biggest fan of the song. He deserves it.
All right, well, here's what we're going to do. My wife just text messaged me. She loved you, too. Uh-oh. She said that both of you guys are very talented. Okay, so here's what we're going to do. This is tough. You've got to be in the P1 text army. It really is, because both of you guys brought different things to the table. Maybe you guys should form a band. There you go. Like Simon and Garfunkel. Tyler's already got a band. Paul and Oates. Hey, Tyler. Tyler, you really are a talented singer, man. You really, really are. You've got a great voice. Okay, so here's what you do. If you are a member of the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, you are going to text the letter A for Reed and text the letter B for Tyler. It's that simple. If you're not a member of the P1 Text Army, you need to be in order to do this. And it's real easy to join. You just text the word Mikey to 35253. 35253. 35253. It's that easy. Once you do that, you can vote. So again, if you want to vote for Reed, text A. If you want to vote for Tyler, text B. And whenever you are texting, I'm guessing that you text that to, and Seth, am I right on this? They text to 35253, right? Okay, 35253. Text A for Reed. Text B for Tyler.
Whoever wins, we're going to give out whatever information you guys want. Gigs you're going to do, websites that you have, the way people can buy stuff from you guys, whatever. Plug it. Whatever you guys want to do. So text right now. We'll come back. We'll give you the results. You guys make my morning so much better, I swear to God. This is The Mikey Show. I appreciate that, dude. That's very nice of you to say. Rock 105.3. The Catelite. The number one cerveza light in Mexico is now available here in the United States. And you can also listen to our stuff on myspace.com forward slash Satori Rock. There you go. S-A-T-O-R-I-R-O-C-K. Okay, cool. Do you have any other info you want to put out there, or is that it? We've got a music video on our MySpace page, so everybody should check it out. Okay. Or Kill the Pain song. You got it.
Reed, did you fix your MySpace page so that anybody can look at it? You know, I'm going to... That's first on my list. No! I got to keep people like you off my page. Reed, is there anything that you want to get out there or anything like that? You know, I'm like relatively new to the whole thing. I don't have a band. I'm just pretty much playing my basement room by myself. But, you know, if you want to add me at myspace.com forward slash Reed Fogelson, R-E-I-D-F-O-G-E-L-S-O-N, I'll make sure everybody can see my page. There you go, man. We got a lot of votes and people really liked your music. And Skye said privately she thinks that you could write music professionally. Yeah, I think your writing was really, really strong. I really enjoyed that. Backhanded compliment. That's right. How is that a backhanded? I think your singing sucks, but your writing's pretty good. I didn't say that. All I said is his writing is great. And make sure you go see Satori tonight. Aw, what a good score. Aw, they're awesome. Very heartwarming. Does everybody have warm and fuzzy? Fuzzies. Sky has a list of Maxim's famous people who look like they smell, but we can't really do that today because we don't have time. I know, so we're going to have to hold on to it. Rosie O'Donnell. Stop it. Duh.
Sarah Jessica Parker. We're not. Rosie O'Donnell. George Takai. Rosie O'Donnell. Oh, no. Okay, so we got to go because I'm going to be on Streetside San Diego at 11 a.m. Yeah. NBC 739, homie. Yeah. Watch our friend Mikey or go down there and donate money. He's got a whole comedy routine ready to go. Oh, you do? He's going to do voices and dancing and juggling. That's going to be awesome. Yeah. I'll break out my George Takai. Dude, please. If you do that. Yeah. Send a secret message. I'm going to work the word jib jib into whatever it is that I say. Oh, don't tase me, bro. Yes, that's right. Say it. Yeah, the first thing that I'm going to do when she says I'm here with Mikey, if she does, I may not even be introduced. I may be in the background. But if she ends up talking to me, I'll say, well, thank you very much for having me on today. Love it. Please do. Okay, so 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call. Beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment. Today was a fun day on the air, man. I think we owe it all to Grant. Yeah, I do too. Grant being here was really an inspiration. Where is Grant? And for those of you that don't know, Grant is Erica's boyfriend.
He was sitting out in the car and she was keeping him out there like Sky does with Ramsey. That's her husband, Mike. Yeah, I know it is. He had been out there for like two and a half hours before she brought up the fact that he was sitting out there. Yeah, I mean, we'd already called the SPCA. I went out and broke the window for him. That's right. She kept the window open a crack for him to be able to breathe. She went out there. He's panting. Speaking of Danny Pantaro and Cujo. That's right. Nice one. I mean, how dare you? 570-1053 is the number. Really? Did you see the movie? Mikey Show, hello. Hey, Mikey. Hey, I want to ask Eddie if he knows if the Chargers are going to play Sunday or not or when we'll find out if they're going to play in San Diego. Yeah, they haven't made a decision yet. It's awful, man. We're still waiting. Like, everybody's kind of waiting to see what they're going to say. They haven't made the announcement yet. We have nine. Oh, no! Don't do it, bro! Come on! Don't tease yourself. You jumped off the... Your life is worth more than that. Yeah, we don't know yet, but hopefully the Chargers will let us know soon, okay? Yeah, as soon as Dana makes the announcement, either Missy or BC and Clint will have it. I'm sure they'll let you know. Mikey Show, hello. Yo, Crash. Thank you. Oh, hey, what's up? Mikey Show. Yeah, I wanted... I just wanted to comment about... I live in Rancho Bernardo, and I wanted to talk about...
all the looky-loos that are currently rolling through the neighborhood. That's a good idea, dude. Talk about it. All righty. Go ahead, man. You're on the air. Oh, okay. Yeah, it's P1 Noche. I just wanted to say that, quite honestly, you know, I live on Rancho Renato. I live about a mile away from all the devastation that happened. Or not even a mile, maybe a half a mile, just a couple blocks. And, you know, it's one thing for the media coverage, and it's another thing if you want to stop and help out. But if you're just rolling by to look, I mean, you really don't need to do that. Yeah, it's morbid, man. It's morbid. It's weird. It's creepy. It's macabre. It's all the creepiest, weirdest words you can think of. And Sky told me the other day, people were pulling over on the side of the freeway, stuff like that. Just think how you would feel if that was your house. Would you want people driving by looking at your stuff? Well, and yesterday when I was driving home up the 15 to go to Escondido, obviously, I passed through Rancho Bernardo. And the exit to get into Rancho Bernardo, it looked like it was, what, maybe like an hour wait? It's not Disneyland, folks. To get into RV. It was. And you're just in the way. Get out of there. Let these people get to their homes in peace. Hey, thanks, man. Thanks for bringing that up. Mikey Show, hello. Yo, this is P1 Burning Man. What's up? I love going to the desert and just partying. But, hey, I got a question. Okay. Did you guys take off the Sean sound bites? What do you mean?
Did you take him off the website? Virtual Sean? Yeah. No, the virtual Sean is still up. Oh, all right. Maybe I just couldn't find him. All right, bro. All right. You got it. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Hello? Yeah, go ahead. You're on the air. Hey, what's going on, guys? Yeah, I just got news on a different radio station that the Chargers will be playing at Qualcomm and that the evacuees there are going to be transported to Del Mar Fairgrounds. We knew that they were going to the fairgrounds today at noon, but I'll tell you, man, it's cool if you heard that from another station, but I got to just say, we got to hear it for ourselves. It's not an official thing. They do want to play the game at Qualcomm. The mayor has said, we want the game to be played at Qualcomm. Yes, the rest of the evacuees are going to the Del Mar fairgrounds. This is all stuff we know. It is not official yet if they are going to play at Qualcomm, and what day? Is it going to be Sunday or Monday? That's the official word as of right now. We're still waiting to hear from the Chargers what they're going to decide. Right on. They got a lot of information in front of them right now that they have to kind of decide. So we'll find out. You know, oftentimes, every time I give my, I call this my testimony. I do this at the end of the show on Friday. And when I do, I usually spend time telling you a little bit about my past and my history with addiction and with...
being a real lonely guy that shut myself in and had cut myself off from my family. And I talked to you about how Jesus Christ worked in my life to change my life and to make me a happy person for the first time in my life. And it didn't take drugs. It didn't take alcohol. It just took him and me allowing him to work in my life. And when I did that and I made the decision to do that, these things started happening. fantastic friendships that were blossoming, a great radio show with great listeners, a son, a beautiful wife, and all those things. And I always tell you about that on Fridays. But because of what's gone on this week, I thought that it might be worth it to talk about people that this week have experienced any kind of devastation to their personal property. to their home, to anybody that has been evacuated this week. Because if you have, right now you probably feel like you're in the deepest, darkest hole. And you're looking for any sign of that thing that we talk about at the end of the show on Friday, hope. And you're going, everything that I had is gone. There may be even some of you who haven't lost your home.
But you've still lost hope. Because a lot of times when things like what has happened here in San Diego over the last week happen, a lot of us get really scared, really anxious, and really upset. And I'm going to tell you that I used to be in that place. And I'm going to also tell you that for me, like I said, inviting Christ into my life changed so much. Now, a lot of times, God wants in your heart. And he's constantly knocking. He's constantly knocking. He's there. And sometimes we do our own thing and we're not hearing him. And then in times like this, times that we're in right now, it's a perfect opportunity for you to open the dialogue with him. Open the door and kind of go, you know what, man? If you're there, right now I need you. And trust me, man, I've been doing that so much with myself and with my family this week. And I'm just offering it to you.
as something that I've experienced and that maybe you could too and it may change things for you. Because right now, hope is at a premium. The supply is high and the demand is high. So it's a great time to be able to do it. So today, I'm going to play the... I had even thought and kicked around the idea of playing a different song, but I ultimately thought, nah, we should play Tunnel, man. Because Tunnel... The words to the song are that there's a light at the end of this tunnel, and there really, really, really is. Because right now, as weird and bad and terrible as it seems, I promise you it's going to get better. I promise you it's going to get better, and it will be in your rearview mirror. So the band is called Third Day. The song is called Tunnel. Really listen to the words of the song today, especially if you've been displaced this week or someone that you love has been displaced. If you're in your car or if you're at a house or if you're at work right now and you have some way been affected by the fires that we've had this week, really listen to the words because I'm telling you with all the sincerity and all the genuineness in my heart, I'm telling you the words to this song are true. We'll see you again on Monday morning. The lovely and talented Missy's coming up next. She's got free form Friday today. Have a great week.
And I'll see you at 11 a.m. on NBC 739 with Kimberly King. And come out there and donate money for these fire victims. Mikey Show's out. Late.
