It's Monday already. It's 6-0-7. Today, most schools in San Diego County will reopen as the firefighters get a handle on all the fires. The Chargers win their third straight game rolling over Houston yesterday, 35-10. What a difference a week makes, right? It's just definitely a different Monday than last Monday. You guys remember when most of us here on the show were raised in the Bay Area, and so do you guys remember... during the earthquakes. After the earthquakes, there was all the aftershocks and a truck would go by and you'd kind of tense up. Yesterday, Rebecca and I were going to church and saw smoke. And we're just freaking out. Like, why are we seeing smoke? You know, like, what's going on? I thought they were all put out. That was nothing. I mean, I'm sure it was something, but it wasn't anything to be worried about. Everything's okay, but...
Talk about jumpy, man. I'm still a little jumpy. Like I said, I want this to be so far in the rearview mirror. Right now, I'm still tense about it. Still a little wigged out. But during the course of this week, we're really going to be telling you about a lot of efforts by a lot of different people that are going to be trying to help out. Something weird going on in our headphones? Yeah. I think it's in the studio. It is. It is, Ashley's studio. Ashley, say hello. Hello? Oh, gosh. Okay. Is your board set up right? Nothing weird about your board? The fires happened and everything in the studio went. And it was a piece of junk before. Yeah. So now it's like... It was like a... What was that Jeff Bridges movie where he made that car that nobody bought? The Tucker? That's what we're like. We're like the Tucker. Great movie. Oh, Sean, it wasn't a great movie. It was great. It was... My name is Mikey.
I'm the host of the show. I'm 37. I don't know if I've ever told you this, but I am number lexic. I don't know if it has a name. Reverse numbers? I reverse numbers. Really? Mm-hmm. Like, for example? Whenever I'm writing down numbers or when I'm reading numbers and I'm reading them to somebody, I very often will say them backwards. Wow. Or repeat them backwards or write them backwards. Or my wife will say... Hey, I got the receipt for that, but you wrote me that it was this, and I do it all the time. I write numbers backwards. Very confused with numbers, and I was terrible at math. I wonder if that's a thing. It has to be. I call it number lexic. I like it. I knew exactly what you meant. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 34. Eddie, tell me something about you. I would love to. Oh, no. This is more of a public service announcement than it is a thing about me, because I think it affects everybody. Listen, everyone listening, if you are traveling and you are waiting for your luggage at the carousel, don't come near me and don't push into me and don't squeeze in between me to get your luggage and don't hit me with your luggage. I feel like I usually get a good spot.
You know, waiting for the luggage. And there's always that jackass that squeezes in and pushes you out of the way to get their luggage. Like they can't go around and find their own spot. And then when I do get my luggage, there's the idiot behind me that won't get out of my way so that I can get my luggage out. I hate that carousel. Question. Yes. How do you feel about the shoulder tap asking you to grab somebody else's bag? I'm fine with that, actually. You're okay with that. Yeah, you know what I mean? At least you have manners. Right. But like the jerks that just like squeeze in and you're basically now, I've marked my spot. And then they take it over because their bag is right there. Right. Instead of getting your own spot in the carousel. And then they pull it off the carousel and then it hits you in the shin. Or as a gentleman, it hits you in the boys. No. It has happened many times. I hate that whole carousel experience. I hate it. And we all want to get our bags. We all want to get our bags. Can you be civilized? That's all I ask. You know what else is weird about the carousel? Is when you're waiting and you're waiting. And the moment that you start to become aware. Uh oh. That thing's gone around too many times. Oh and you don't think your bag's coming? Yeah.
When you first get it. Your stomach. Yes. And you first get the thing of like, uh-oh, it's been a little too long. And you want to hold out hope forever. Right. How many times have you lost your back? Only a couple of times in life. Yeah, me too. Only like twice. Happened to be on the 28-hour show. Really? Yeah. Coming or going? Coming home. Wow. Yeah. I know people, though, that it happens to them all the time. Like, why that? Why? I want to say to them, what do you do? What's different? Do you not tip the sky cap? Right. Got to tip the sky cap. Do you, Sean? I never use the sky cap. Well, if you do, you got to tip them. Yeah. Yeah. Dollar a bag. That's why I don't. Exactly. Dollar a bag. Hopefully, they'll send out a memo when we need to know that that's gone up. Skye is our news girl. She's 30. Skye, tell me something about you. I have discovered nothing can make you feel uncooler, lamer, and older than hanging out with teenage girls. I last night chaperoned a trip for some kids to go see a hip-hop show last night. And so I was in charge. What hip-hop show? There was a hip-hop showcase going on at the Escondido Center for Performing Arts last night. How did you get involved?
It's one of my mom's groups, and they needed chaperones and drivers. Oh, hell. So I was called. How many things is your mother involved in? Oh, my gosh. Less than 12. What's the over and under on the amount of things Sky's mother is either an activist involved in, currently seeking legislation for, or suing? Ten? Ten? Ten. I take the over. I'm going over. I take the over. Oh, way over. Over? Yeah, I would take that over, too. Wow. I mean, there's a handful of things that she's involved in in, like, a daily, weekly basis. But then there's things that, you know, are just issues, but she's not. Electric car alone's over 10. Yeah. Right. So, of course, you know, my mom, you know, she always knows, you know, it's a thing we do in our family, you know, how to word things to try and guilt people and get people to do things. Oh, manipulate, you can say it. Yeah, yeah.
That's another word. So, of course, my mom's going on and on about what a great influence, and I'll be in charge of all the girls for the trip and how neat it would be for them to meet such a well-put-together, responsible woman, blah, blah, blah. So I'm driving them, and it's like pulling teeth to talk to these girls. Everything is yes, no, and they're just texting and texting, and they want nothing to do with me, don't want to conversate with me. See, I wouldn't even be trying to talk. I'm running out of questions. I'm not getting into that. Why are you trying to interview them? Well, I'm not trying to interview them. I'm trying to interact and have conversation and break the tension. You know kids don't like that from old people? You're old people. But I didn't think I was old people. Oh, dude, you're old people. Trust me. You've been old people for years. Yeah, this guy was old people at 22 years old. Yeah, that is true. That was last night. Feeling very cool. How old were they? Very. Like, they range in age. So the youngest one I had in my car, I would say, was about seven. And then 15 was the oldest. What? This guy's like, who's celly are you blowing up? Who's celly-o? Have you heard of this guy, Timberlake? Man, your shirt is the bomb. Yo, who you beeping?
Hey, that phone is off the collar. So I felt really lame last night. Uncle Mikey, will you introduce Uncle Sean now? He was right about to, Beto. Aww. Well, it's just that his hairstyle has changed yet again. Aww. He just got a haircut, Beto. I don't know. He didn't change. Oh, he did? I thought he went to a concentration camp. Well, that's just insulting. That's not nice. He shouldn't say stuff like that. Wow. Hey, Uncle Sean, what is it like being an inmate at Pelican Bay? Oh, wow. See, he doesn't like that. Were you ever involved in gang fights? Are you a part of the Aryan Nation? No. You should probably answer that, Sean. I refuse to answer that. Yeah, Sean, it looks like Sean has cut his own hair again. So it's very short. When did you do it, Shawnee? Yesterday. There you go. The answer is very short, very brief. Well, you know. Sean is 37 years of age. Where do you do it, Sean? Where do you cut the hair? In the bathroom? Outdoors? Where do you do it? Oh, come on, please. Where do you do it?
In the bathroom. In the bathroom. How does the decision come about? Is it a plan? Or do you go, you know, you're brushing your teeth, you go, ah, it's time, I better do it. Or is it a plan? Like, oh, tomorrow I'm going to cut the hair. No, I don't do it like that. You just look in the mirror and you go, it's time, I'm going to cut the hair. You do it like that. And the wife does it for you, right? It's like half and half. Do you put like a towel around the shoulders? No. No? You do not. I take a... Oh, come on, Sean. You can tell us. You take a what? You take a bath. I do not take a bath. I hate baths. I take a kitchen garbage bag and I cut one side of it open and I put part of it in the sink and the remaining, you know, around the sink area. And I usually put, like my wife has all kinds of crap on the sink.
So I take those and I use them as like paperweights and put them all around so that the thing stays in place. And then I cut my hair over the sink and let everything fall into the kitchen garbage bag. I like it. And then she cuts it, right? No, like I said, half and half. She cuts half of your hair and you cut half of your hair? I usually start it and then the areas that I can't get, she'll get for me. Oh. I thought he meant sometimes he does it, sometimes she'll do it. No. No. Sean, question. Why not just allow her to do all of it? I don't know, to be honest with you. I feel like I don't want to, like... Burden her. Kind of, yeah. It's all right. This is a safe place. Doesn't feel like it. I know, but I'm telling you, she wanted to know what your routine was with the hair. Okay. Well, I can go to a barber shop. It costs money. He can do it for free. Yeah, but that way he doesn't have to deal with the whole garbage bag. Well, but. Paperweights. It's a pain in the butt. Sean. I can control my environment, though. Yeah. Use clippers on his hair that have been used on somebody else's hair. He's going that blue liquid. He doesn't care. Oh, dude. He knows that blue liquid's, you know. That's good stuff. That's good stuff. He didn't trust that stuff. Sean, you're missing out, man. Don't know what's in it. You're missing out, bro. Sean, tell me something about you.
Usually when I watch television at night, and even sometimes when I go to the movies, I stand. I always stand when I watch TV at night. But sometimes I stand when I go to the movies, and sometimes at night, at home, I'll do laps around the living room as I watch TV. I don't like to sit. Well, who among us doesn't? What? Best visual ever. Best visual ever. Sitting's overrated. And then you sit, so you get, you stand, you do it, and then you sit down for a period of time and then stand again and do it, you know, walk more? No, no, no. I usually stand the whole time. Exclusively you stand? Yeah. Yeah, sometimes I'll sit, like if, sometimes my wife will get irritated and she'll want me to sit down. So I will sit down so that I can pee with my wife. But otherwise, I prefer to stand. Have you ever invited her to stand with you? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We do laps together a lot.
Don't look at me, Mike. I don't know. I don't know. Is it your feet thing? No. That is so bad. That's how you relax. Kind of, yeah. Yeah, I just like it. It's fun. Get your exercise. A little bit. Is it the crack cocaine? Ashley's our assistant producer. She's 24. She's got on a big ski jacket. What? It is not a big ski jacket. Let me explain. She's wearing a top. Let me explain. You're the worst at describing my outfit. Ashley's wearing an outfit that is very summery. It weighs about two ounces. And then over it, she's got a big ski jacket with faux fur. Totally, that's what I'm wearing. How would you describe it better? I'm wearing denim capri pants with flip-flops. I'm wearing what I call a shirt dress, and it's got spaghetti straps, and it's v-neck, and it's pink. Like I said. And I'm wearing a... It's a very hip jacket. It's a jacket that's got the fur around the hood, but it's not a ski jacket. What did you say that was wrong? I don't know. Everything. There's fur around the hood. Fur around the hood. That's what he said. He said it has fur. It doesn't make it a ski jacket.
A ski jacket's like snowboarding big pockets. In other words, in order for me to have been more accurate, she would have had to have been going to Mammoth later today. This is quite high fashion. Ash, can you hear me? What the hell is that? All right, Ash, tell me something about you. Well, a lot of you know that I like to keep it really gangsta on a daily basis in multiple areas of my life, one of which is when I drive. And it's really... Like, if anybody saw me, they'd be real thrown off because I'm in this little, like, Honda and I'm as blonde as can be. But I lean my chair back like this. Oh, my. I drive, like, I'm all the way back here. No joke. Like a black guy in a 72 Oldsmobile. Like, my hand barely touches the wheel. Oh, hell. And I bump. hip-hop. And that's all I listen to. And that's all I listen to. And it's so to the point now where when I get to be at a stoplight, I'll roll up the windows because I'm so embarrassed of myself. If anyone saw me... Well, turn it down! You and I, we're different. I like to bump it, you know, in a good song. And then I dance and I sing and it's a whole field trip. Gotcha. Boston Rob? Yeah.
Boston Rob is 24 years old. He's from the city of Boston, Massachusetts. Cut six. He's over, and the Red Sox are world champs again. Must be getting boring for you. No. I feel like a kid at Christmas that got too many good gifts. It's still surreal for me. It hasn't said it. You know, when I made you leave the studio when I wanted to make my prediction, that was my prediction. Take an air four? I said I thought they'd sweep. It's so trippy because in 2004, we swept the Angels, came back from a 3-0, and then swept St. Louis. And we almost did the same thing this year. It's mind-boggling. Yeah. Wow. Here's Jonathan Pamplemousse. Pamplebond. Pamplemousse. I love that place. Great place. Cut 13.
First, tell us about the shot deep. Did you think it was out? No, I didn't think it was out, but I thought it was going to be off the wall or something like that, but we got stud out there and left, man. It did a job, man. It took all 25 of us to get this shot done. It's just phenomenal, man. A great sense of relief. You didn't give up any runs here. Talk about the mentality coming out of this game, and really two one-run games against this Rocky team, even though you're sweet. Yeah, you know, I mean, this team did everything they could to stay in it, and we had to do everything we could to keep the lead and just a phenomenal team effort overall. I have to admit it. I really like the Boston Red Sox. I think their team is fun. They stuck a blown up bubble gum bubble on Dice K's head and he didn't know it was there. And he leaned over and it fell off. They all started laughing at him. That's fun. That's great. Here's Terry Francona. The Red Sox manager, after the win, cut 17. Oh, it doesn't get old. I'm so proud of our organization. I mean, I don't know how to say it because I know I'm supposed to find words, but it's hard. This is a time when I just want to watch our players enjoy what they did because what they accomplished, what our organization accomplished is so special. There you go. Holy cow.
Like, I can't explain to you the stress that is off my shoulders today. Like, I can finally enjoy life again and be happy. Wow. You're feeling good today. Wow. Give me a cigar? Yeah. What was the communication between you and all your friends back in Boston? Was it a series of text messages? Yes. And it wasn't even like the last out wasn't even made. There were two outs. It was right before the last out. And all of a sudden, my phone just starts going off the wall. Like so many texts coming in. You texted Eddie. Oh, yeah. OMG, Sox win. OMG, wicked awesome. There was just mass texting and phone calls. I was getting texts while people were calling, so I had to eventually shut my phone off. It was too ridiculous. He started texting me in a Boston accent. What? Oh, my gosh. Like, for the R's, he would have, like, two H's for, like, pop. And I was like, no. Yeah, he does not. He's so proud to be a Bostonian yesterday. Yes. Oh, my God. Yeah, too bad the Patriots played so terribly that Tom Brady can't get anything together. Yeah.
Rushes for two touchdowns. That guy. It's like a sign of the apocalypse. Something's going on with Boston sports. It's weird. I don't like it. They're supposed to lose. That Tom Brady is weird. I think he's a witch. I mean, if this were back in the Salem days, they would burn that guy at the stake. Something is weird about that guy. How many touchdowns yesterday? Well, he ran two in, and he threw for three. Oh, that's gross. Yeah. He's, what, 31 on the year so far? Take it easy. It's garbage! How old is he? I don't know, 26, 27? You've got to be kidding me. So he's got like 10 years left. How does Rob not know how old Tom Brady is? He's your favorite player. It's true. You love him. Not my favorite player. Who's your favorite player? I do love him. Mike Vrabel. That guy is too good. And the Chargers got a killer win yesterday. Yep. Hell yeah. What was the final score? They won 35-10 without scoring a point in the second half. What? Really? Yeah, they scored 35 points in the first half. I'll tell you what. I was glad to have Antonio Gates in my fantasy football yesterday. Definitely. Tom Brady is 30 years old.
He's got a lot of time left. It says that I have audio of the Charger game, but I can't find any of it. Seth, did you send it? Yeah, he has it. I do? No, I got it, but I haven't pulled it down yet. Hold on. Pull it right now. Just take a second. Pull it down. Yeah, pull it down now. Come on. So yeah, it was good to see them kill it the way they did. I'll be honest with you. I was surprised. I thought that because... They were all distracted, and because they were practicing in Phoenix and because everything was weird, I thought that Houston would have the upper hand. It was very emotional, the beginning of the game, with the firefighters leading them out of the tunnel. I just think they were fired up. I mean, they came out strong. And Houston just doesn't, they don't have a lot of weapons to counteract making a lot of turnovers.
They didn't have Amon Green, who was down. Andre Johnson was down. Matt Schaub was banged up. So, I mean, they just didn't have the capability to come back once they made a couple of miscues. And they had that one punt that went over the guy's head, and we recovered it in the end zone. You know, I may have this wrong because I saw a blurb of it and I had the television on mute, but did Drayton Florence throw like a real cheap shot? Kind of. It is illegal to basically headhunt the quarterback after an interception. You know, like back in the day when you throw a pick, the quarterback is fair game. And so most of the defensive linemen would be like, I want to block that guy and point at the quarterback. And so they would go and they'd knock him out. I got it. And so it's illegal to do that now. And that's what happened yesterday is Matt Schaub threw an interception, wasn't really paying attention, and Drayton Flores basically came up and gave him a cheap shot. Okay. That makes sense now. Antonio Gates cut 54. Oh, one second. Sorry. Pull it down. Pull it down now. I am pulling it down. Offset eye behind Rivers, who on a delay is going to look downfield. Load it up. Fire to a wide open. Gates got it at the 20, 15, 10, 5, end zone. Touchdown, San Diego. He was wide open. Yeah. There's nobody around him. How does Antonio Gates...
Get wide open. How does that ever happen? I know it. I sure hope the air quality was good out there. Stop. It was fine. I was out there all pre-game and didn't smell a thing. I just don't want this to be a real sports story in four years. I walked to and from and didn't even smell it. Nothing. It was fine. Sean, do you have real sports music? In 2007, San Diego County experienced some of the worst wildfires in U.S. history. Just days after the fires began and burned down countless acres and scorching homes, Mayor Jerry Sanders announced that Qualcomm Stadium would be used for the Chargers schedule to come home to play the Texans. The game was played, complete with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger looking on with a Charger jacket. But now, some years later, as real sports correspondent Armin Kataian found out... Wow, look at you!
On scene. Some of these players are experiencing respiratory ailments and other quality concerns associated with playing that fateful game. Armin Katayan has more. They come back after Armin, you know, he interviews players. I was just happy to give something to the people of San Diego that day. They come back after the piece and he's like, Armin. Some of the players interviews claim. to have been having these symptoms and ailments for years but are only just reporting it to the league. Why? What are you jotting down? Taking the glass off writing on the table. What are you writing? What are you writing on there, Bryant? Well, it was good for everybody. It was good for the city. 570-1053 is our phone number beginning and end of every show. You can call in about anything you want. P1 Jesse, what's a P1? A P1 is someone who turns down the radio, gets their point, doesn't cuss, and...
And shout your show to everyone else. Awesome. Oh. That is it. That's what I'm saying. What's up, Jessie? You have to join the P1 site. That's right. On the website. I registered last night. Yeah. And got on there and talked with people. It was fun. Did you? I welcomed you. Don't worry. That was nice. Okay. So here's my question. I want to know if I know. We should all do that, by the way, because that's a safe site. Like, it's not like. Safe place. It's a safe place. Like, I feel comfortable there. I don't feel like everybody's on there going, we. hate you. Right. You know what I mean? Absolutely. We hate you. Thank you. What's going on, Jessie? Hi. So I have a question. I've had charger tickets for like three months and I went to the game yesterday. I have a kick-ass seat. I'm right behind the field goal, eighth row, everything. Like, I've wanted to go for forever. And I was, I understand the evacuations and everything like that. I mean, I donated, I did everything. I opened my home to people. I am now getting like hate mail. Oh, oh, oh, oh.
This is real sports, Bryant Gumbel. Oh, yeah. I have to agree with your friends. I love the game and the tickets. Armin Kattan had a chance to talk to Jessie as she came out of the game. Some people wondered, why could such a monster allow people to be relocated to Del Mar? I think that's ridiculous, Jessie. You didn't have anything to do with it. It's not your decision. It was Mayor Sanders. It was the colonel that decided that it was going to happen. You know what I mean? And you're right. There wasn't anybody left. Yeah. That's why they put him over to Del Mar. There wasn't anybody left. Eddie, what is going on in your head? So weird. Like, who's writing you? Yeah, and these people are, like, your friends? Even bulletins. Like, there's bulletins that people are reposting. Even from, like, other people that, like, I don't even know that they're just reposting, saying how, like, if you went to the Charger game, you're a bad person, and blah, blah, blah. Oh, that's ridiculous. I was, like, I had the best seat. And I've been, like... I'm one of them for forever. That's dumb. You didn't do anything wrong, and nobody did anything wrong. Yeah, if you threw away those tickets... Go ahead, Scott. If she threw away those tickets, that game still would have gone on. I mean... That's true. You know, give me a break. Come on, it's dumb. I haven't even heard that. Thank you, Jessie. I appreciate the phone call. Thanks for joining the site. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The site is ponesite.com. www.ponesite.com. And...
It's really fun and great, and the people are cool, and it's really awesome. Here's what we have in store for you today. First of all, we'll talk to Sean Merriman, who, after the game, on television, I think, was talking to Mario Williams, and they were having a pretty cool conversation. It looked like it was Mario Williams. I'll ask him today, like, what was that all about? Because when you see stuff on TV and you see people talking, it's great to be able to ask them, what were you guys talking about? We're going to do something today called the Dumb Chick Challenge. Oh, the best. That's where Sky and Ashley and a female listener, they compete being answered questions that are very easy. Very easy questions. They're not easy. Super easy. That is not true. Yeah. No. It is true. UFC fighter Brandon Vera in the studio today. Oh. I understand he had surgery on his hand. Yeah, last week. To repair a broken hand that he got in his fight with Tim Sylvia. Is that how you use Sylvia? Sylvia. I don't know if it's Sylvia or Silva. I always get confused. We're going to do P1 trivia for the opportunity of somebody to be able to come into the studio and hang out with us on Friday. We do that every week. Awesome. And don't forget, Rob's DNA results are November the 1st. So that's when? Is that Wednesday? Thursday. Wow. I'm still confused as in...
Does he find out Wednesday? We find out Thursday? He is expected to find out Wednesday, and then, yeah, he's going to tell us on Thursday. So we'll be told on Thursday. So there it is. We've got a lot going on today. Gigantoid show. And you can call us at 570-1053 and talk about anything you want. There's somebody on hold right now that wants to ask about daylight savings time, and I'll have the answer to the daylight savings time question when we come back. Uh, Mitch Hedberg in the Stand-Up Spotlight. The Mikey Show Stand Spotlight, 105.3. I was getting my teeth whitened, but then I said, forget that, I'll just get a 10 instead. Like rice. Rice is great when you're hungry and you want 2,000 or something. I saw a commercial on late night TV. It said, forget everything you know about slipcovers. So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell slipcovers, but I didn't know what the hell they were. You guys are cool, man. I went to the doctor. All he did was suck blood from my neck. Do not go see Dr. Acula. It took me about six months to make the call, but I finally got off my phone.
I tail and did it, and I saved $1,700 a year with AIS. Oh, that's awesome. I love hearing that. That's a lot of money. You saved $1,700? I mean, that was incredible. I cut my bill in half. Who was your insurance before? Progressive. And who did they get you? You know, they got me Infinity. See, this is the deal. This is what people need to understand. When you call AIS, they have 30 different companies that they're shopping for you. See, that's the thing with it. We used to have State Farm. We didn't know from what other insurance company. Welcome back. It's 643. We have audio of Paris Hilton allegedly freaking out in a porn shop that had a poster for her sex tape in the window. The Boston Red Sox sweep the World Series winning game four over the Rockies 4-3. That's Lifehouse. Song's called First Time. It's good. Hey, by the way, if you want to join the P1 text army, text the word Mikey to 35253. 35253. 35253. 35253. If you text the word Mikey to 35253, you can be in the P1 text army. I don't give your number to anybody. I don't send you advertisements. I don't spam you. I don't do any of that. And so all it's used for is to tell you when cool stuff is happening. Like, why don't you go ahead and text everybody, Seth, that Brandon Vera, UFC's Brandon Vera, on the show after 8.
It's a great way to be able to let people know stuff. So I love that. Before we went to break, I told you we had somebody on the line that wanted to ask about daylight savings. Is this Stephanie? Yes, it is. So, Stephanie, what was your confusion? Well, usually daylight savings happens the weekend before Halloween. So it is, you know, Halloween is Wednesday, and I didn't see anything in the news to change our clocks back. And my roommate this morning is like, hey, what happened to daylight savings? I'm like, I don't know. Skye, what's the deal, Skye? Well, back in 2005, President Bush signed the Energy Conservation Act. And so we did this back for the spring forward, but now it's coming into play for the fallback. So it's pushed back a week. So instead of being the last Sunday in October, like we're all used to, it is now the first Sunday in November. So next weekend, and the whole goal, the president believes, is to conserve energy. Actually, it's that I can control time and space. I can do anything. I'm power crazy.
Wait a second. Wait a minute. Really? I'll make it p.m. right now. How about that? How about that? You're saying that if you felt like it, you could say that instead of 6.46 a.m., it's now 6.46 p.m. It's kind of dusky. What? Now, if that is correct, are you saying that Monday Night Football will technically be on? In the morning. In the morning. Monday morning football. That's weird. Whatever I want. I'm the president. Okay. In your face. Hey, whose face? I don't know that that's really an in-your-face. Yeah, I don't know whose face is that. In-your-face, world. World. I mean, you don't know. I control time. It would really be just the United States. It wouldn't be a world. Well, no, yeah, it's just us. If you were going to put it in anybody's face, it would be the U.S. Oh, really? What about Antarctica? It doesn't affect them. Okay. It doesn't affect them. Well, I thought it was a 52nd state. No. That's President Bush, ladies and gentlemen. He's out. Negators. That's right. What up? President Bush likes to say what up. He's very gangsta. Yeah, he is. I appreciate it. Terminator was in town yesterday. Oh. He was at the game doing the coin flip. That's right. And here's what he had to say about the people responsible for arson with these fires. Cut three.
We already know that at least two of the fires were started intentionally. And two more have been suspicious origins. I want everyone to understand that we will hunt down the people that are responsible for that. And we will arrest them. We will prosecute them to the full extent of the law. We are working diligently with local authorities, the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to make that happen. And believe me, We will not fail. If I were one of those people who started the fires, I will not sleep soundly right now, I tell you, because we're right behind you. You can't just go around hunting down people. If we find them, I will personally kill them. There will not be any court hearings. There will not be any arrests. I have instructed my deputies to have me fly out to murder them. with the help of the alcohol and backhoe agency. Yes. Me in conjunction with the alcohol, backhoe, and the fire guns. Fire guns. Fire guns and time travel. Especially the backhoe. They're the best. Yeah, the backhoe department really has you figured out, you. Yeah, we'll get you arson. We'll get you arson. The help of the backhoe. That was a
sweet charger jacket he had on yesterday. But it was so unnecessary. It made me so angry. What? It was 100 degrees out. You don't wear a jacket when it's that hot. And what kind of jacket? I don't know. Look at Boston Rob. He does that all the time. It's a clown, though. But I mean, it was hot out there at the game. And he had this leather... It was a sweet jacket, but it was unnecessary. I thought he was just showing off. I agree. I thought he should have worn, like, a real skin-tight muscle shirt to show off all that stuff. You know, something from the baby gap. P1NATO. What's up, man? I was curious what happened to Streetside San Diego on Friday. I saw you for two seconds at the very beginning. How'd it go? What? I never heard. I never heard. What happened? Well... What happened? Well, what happened was, just listen off the air. I'm going to hang up with you and you listen off the air. I'll tell you what happened. What? Big TV debut. Talk about it. Yeah. Oh, no. Well, a lot of people don't realize that I'm not really a celebrity. What? And so most people don't know who I am. Our P1s know who I am, but most people don't know who I am.
So when I arrived, no one knew who I was except for Kimberly. And she was busy. I mean, she's busy. She got a show to do. And so there was like actual celebrities there. Really? Yeah. Like Brian Malarkey, who was on Top Chef and who we've had in here, was there. Kevin Towers from the Padres was there. There was like celebrities. And I'm telling you, I was so embarrassed of who I'm not. Let me tell you, I arrive, right? And I walk up. I walk up and there's like people everywhere on the sidewalk. Like famous people, like celebrities and stuff. And I'm like, please somebody recognize who I am so I can talk to somebody that will tell me what to do. And no one does, right? And so I literally don't know what to do with my hands.
And I'm like, should I hold my hands like this? Should I put my hands in my pockets? Should I, you know, put my hands on my hips and pretend like, oh, I'm standing. I'm standing here and I'll just stand. And it was so, so uncomfortable. And Kimberly is so sweet. Kimberly King. Like, she called me afterwards and she left me a message. I still haven't had a chance to call her back. saying, hey, I'm really sorry. I wanted to get you on at the end of the show, blah, blah, blah. I was looking for you. And let me tell you how humiliating it got for me personally. I'm standing there halfway through. Okay, now I'm standing in front of the producer woman that's coordinating the different people to go on television, right? Okay. And she looks at me and is like diverting her attention. She's like, I don't know who the chubby Mexican is, but he just keeps staring at me. I don't know why he keeps staring at me is what she's thinking. Security. And so she's ushering in like the San Diego chicken, a woman from Allstate. You know the big Padre mascot? The friar. The friar. Oh, yeah. Okay. He was there?
Dude, I'm standing behind him and I'm so uncomfortable with being in the way. At this point, I'm in the way. I'm standing behind him. He's ready to go make his TV debut and turns and baps me in the head with his big fake bat. With his furry bat and I'm like, I gotta get out of here. You see, pal, that's who I am and you're nothing. That's right. That's right. And so check this out. So I say to the producer lady, I go, and I'm saying it as, I'm trying to ask this as sweetly and nicely as I possibly can. Hey, do you still need me for anything? And she's got that look of how do I say this nicely? You know, of course, like what's behind her eyes is, of course not. I don't know who you are. Right. And so she's like, well, if you still want to collect donations from people, you can. Only there was no like there was it was so taken care of that aspect of it that I'm like, I'm I'm literally I'm in the way. So I said now when I got there, I opened my wallet up and I had seven dollars and I stuck it in the.
donation thing and so I turn around to walk out and I'm like oh no I need to get my parking validated so I say to her is there any way I can validate my parking and she sees a girl that works at 739 she goes yeah yeah can you validate this for him so the girl runs and she comes back she hands it back to me it's got little stamps on it like validation stamps so I I sleek out of there with my tail between my legs like so humiliated and I'm driving out and I hand it to the girl you know to check out and she goes You still owe $2. And I don't have any money. I go, I don't have any money. I just gave my last $7. There's a bank upstairs. I'm like, this can't be real, right? No. This can't be real. It's impossible. It was not only possible, it was my reality. Only you, man. Only you. Only me. And so I'm thinking to myself, my contribution to Streetside San Diego on Friday was $7. It's great to be me. Sean Merriman, number 56 of the San Diego Chargers, is next. And he was talking to somebody after the game on camera. I think it was Mario Williams from the Houston Texans.
And I gotta ask him, what were you talking about? I just wanted to thank Mikey this morning for staying on the air. You know, it's my one day off during the weekend. You guys totally rock. Dude, I appreciate that, man. The Mikey Show continues on Rock 105.3. Don't try to talk him out of it, people. It's local. I don't remember. I don't either. I don't think you said it. No, you said Sean Merriman's. Is that what I said? Yep.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I said I wanted to ask Sean about what he was saying on camera to, I believe, Mario Williams. This is the Bud Light Sean Merriman Report. Sean Merriman. Hey, how you doing? Hey, man. Doing good. Wow, what a game. Yeah. Yeah, what a week, what a game. Before the game, yeah. Yeah, before we get to any of the game stuff, were you affected? Did you get any kind of an evacuation? Yeah, actually, I did Monday. We got an evacuation. First, it was voluntary, and then the next three hours, it was mandatory. That's what happened with us, too. When were you allowed to go back? I started back when I got a voluntary, and by the time they had the mandatory, I was on my way out the door, and the police officer walked up to me and said, Hey, you're Sean Raymond. I said, Good, thanks. Now, where do I go? That's cool. Eddie? Hey, Sean, one of the things I...
Sorry, man. Well, one of the things I keep hearing from people that were evacuated from their homes was they would get out of their houses and then remember, oh, man, I can't believe I forgot that. What was the thing that you forgot that you were bummed about that you forgot when you were packing your stuff? Well, I didn't take all my memorabilia. I just took some of the stuff that I probably couldn't get made again, like some scrapbooks and things like that from growing up. The rest or everything else, I just left just about, you know, I can't go back and get. Get another one of them. So, yeah, that was going to be my next question is what did you take? I took some memorabilia that I had. Besides scrapbooks. Yeah, scrapbooks, some high school articles, some high school trophies, and things I knew would probably be pretty hard for me to get again. The rest of the things pretty much left. Now, when were you allowed to go back, Sean? I got evacuated. Monday, and I was allowed to go back Tuesday evening, I think it was, the people out here. Wow. So where did you stay for that night? Did you stay in a hotel or friends? Yeah, I went downtown. I stayed in a hotel downtown. So, yeah, I completely got away from everything, though. Wow. Well, glad you're back. Glad your place is safe. Glad you're safe. And now the game. First of all, it must have been a tough week practicing out in Phoenix.
Walk us through the week. How did the week go team-wise? Well, Tuesday is our no one day off. So we ended up leaving Tuesday evening here to Arizona. Well, we didn't know how long we were going to stay down there. Because originally, we were probably going to play down in Arizona. They were going to try to change the date to maybe a Monday night game. So we were like walking through. Normally, you know, we do walk through without the football field. We're walking through the parking lots behind the hotels and everything. It was tough because we had adjusted so much. Wow. Now, not to sound corny, and if this isn't the case, you certainly don't have to say that it is, but I wonder if it was a bonding experience for you guys. It was. It was. It's not corny to say. I mean, it happened. Each player called each other and was checking on each other and found out if it was guys' house that burned down, if they were affected, checking on each other's families and everything else. I think it was. It was a real big bombing experience. I was worried because I thought, you know, without the team being here in San Diego, with you guys being displaced, with you guys with the distractions, I thought this is going to be a perfect opportunity for Houston to take advantage of it. And it was the opposite. You guys went out there and crushed them. I don't think it was a disadvantage for us at all. I think that we had a goal and we had to achieve it. And whether Houston was looking at it or not, we were hoping they were looking at it like...
these guys are going to be distracted and not going to be ready to play. So regardless, we knew we had to go out there and win the game. You know, I was saying before we went to break that after the game was over, I was watching TV and I saw you talking to, I think, Mario Williams of the Texans. Was it Mario Williams or was it someone else? Yeah, I was talking to Mario and the Moby and a lot of those guys who I got a chance to talk to before they even got drafted. during the draft process, and those guys called me a whole lot through the whole process. Yeah, because what I observed was it looked like there was just a couple of guys from the Texans that they really wanted to be able to grab you and talk to you for a second, and it almost looked like a couple of the guys were sort of like, you know, trying to get, you know, hey, I want to talk to you, I want to talk to you, and like the two of them really wanted to talk to you. What were you guys talking about? I was just talking to Mario. I think Mario is going to be probably one of the best players in the league pretty soon. I told him before he got drafted, I said, you're the number one player in the league, so if you don't come out and have three or four stacks a game, people are going to try to have some kind of criticism and kind of just tell him to keep his head up because he don't have to go out and do those things every game for him to be the number one draft pick that he was.
showed up yesterday. Listen to this. Cut 53. It's too bad I can't have Camardi on my fantasy football team. You know, the guy scored two touchdowns yesterday. He's a defensive player. How great was that? What do you say to him? What do you guys do? Talk to me about that. Camardi has been a guy that has a lot of talent that we're just all waiting for him to come out and perform like he did yesterday. He's going to do that. He was a first-round draft pick for a reason, because he can play. As soon as you get the opportunity to get in there and work yourself in a little bit, he's going to be a player. Hey, we're talking to Sean Merriman. So, Sean, no breathing issues yesterday? It wasn't weird being out there? Well, walking to the stadium, that's probably the only time that I smelled the smoke. You know, I'm from the East Coast, so it kind of smelled like a fireplace. You know, you smell the wood burning, things burning.
It smelled like that. So that was the only time during when the game started. I didn't smell anything. Right. And there are no issues with breathing clearly or anything like that? No, not at all. I mean, we were hoping it was going to be a problem for them because we had to deal with it a few days before we ended up going to Arizona. So I'm trying to get the game played in Houston. Okay, so question. So you're back in your house, right? Yeah. Are you going to be handing out Halloween candy on Wednesday night? I did it last year, so I'm planning on doing it this year, too. I think that you should put on your full Charger uniform and go as Sean Merriman. That probably would be kind of funny. You can go as the ghost of Priest Holmes. Eddie! Eddie! Eddie! What did I say? Oh! Oh!
Hey, Sean, how hysterical would it be if you opened the door of those little kids and Sean Merriman is standing there in full uniform? That's hysterical. That scared me a whole lot if I was a nine-year-old kid. What was your favorite Halloween costume when you were growing up, Sean? Probably I was a fan of the Jason mask. Now, are you giving away full candy bars again this year? Because I know you did that last year. Yeah, I'll be giving away a lot of candy. Nice. I don't remember that. He gave away full candy bars last year? Yeah, he said the kids across the street were stoked because he was giving away the full-size candy bars. Nice. Yeah, he loved those things. I'm going to your house. Yep.
Well, when you were growing up and somebody's giving away full-size candy bars, like, that's a big deal. There's always that house, and then there's always the house that gives you, like, pennies and spider rings and apples. The house that really just got out of my skin the most, and I hate it, was one that just left the candy out there and expected you to take it when all the rest of the kids would take it first before you get there. Right, so you get there and there's an empty bowl. Yeah, right. Yeah, I don't know what we're going to do. You know, my wife is into all of the holidays. You know, she's really into the Halloween. She's really into Christmas, Thanksgiving, all that stuff. And for me, it's like a normal day. So I am struggling to try to get into it. My kid's going to be Yoda. Yes! Yeah, that's pretty funny. So listen. That's so great. Who's next? Who's next? Hey, I'm going to. A game this season, Sean, but I don't think it's for a couple... You live in San Diego. I know it. One game. Get him, Sean. Get him. Well, see, I've always maintained this. I enjoy the game. I enjoy watching the replays. I enjoy seeing you in high definition. And so, you know, what can I say? You're so handsome. I got to see it in high def. Hello. But no, here's the thing, man. I get to go to the Indianapolis game, and that's in a couple of weeks. Who's this week?
We got Minnesota this week, and we're playing them in Minnesota, I think. Now, you're going to game plan against this Adrian Peterson, and he's real good, this young kid. He's good. Well, you know, I got a chance to talk to him during the offseason. I seen him in L.A. while I was working out up there. And I jokingly played around with him and said I was going to try to knock his head off. That's funny. Hey, Sean, you should send him the highlight reel of the Priest Holmes thing this week and say you're next. No, he actually has Priest Holmes' head. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just send him the head of Priest Holmes. It's like it's a picture. He's a real good player. I mean, he's probably running the ball as one of the best right now. International Football League. I wouldn't call him the best because obviously I got the best on my team, but he's one of the guys that's going to be the best if he keeps playing the way he's playing and stay healthy. There you go. Well, listen, Sean, we appreciate you coming on, and we're going to talk to you again next week, hopefully after a victory over the Vikings. That's right. So I'll see you next week. All right, Sean. We'll talk to you then. All right, guys. We'll see you.
Catch the Bud Light Sean Merriman Report exclusively every Monday on the Mikey Show. Zach! 105.3. Hey, how about this one? I forgot this one. Let me hear cut 55. Rivers with time. Fires over the middle. Chambers has it. Sturries to the right. Breaks a tackle. Touchdown! Welcome to San Diego, number 89, Chris Chambers. 14-yard touchdown. How do you like that? Awesome. Yeah! Our very own Josh Lewin is in the studio right now. Hello, sports fans. There he is. There he is. It's so great, man. You know what I want to talk to Josh about? What? Josh works for the Texas Rangers as well. Right. And with A-Rod opting out of the contract for the Yankees, that means the Texas Rangers don't owe any more money to the Yankees. Yeah, the Rangers were paying a good chunk of that. For the Yankees. So now, yes, the Rangers have money to spend on something. That's good for you. I'm hoping pitching. Where do you think he's going, Josh? I think he's going to be an angel. Yeah? I do. It's a big rumor. Little baby angel. No, they're... Little baby angel. You know what, though? He's burning every bridge in America. Why do you think he's doing this? Let's explain to people what he did.
Because I was asking Eddie about it before we even went on the air. Like, dude, what did A-Rod do? He had the option to opt out of his current contract with the New York Yankees, which he was basically, you know, he could still play for the Yankees, and he was guaranteed $72 million. Nice. But he decided, I would rather be a free agent and make more than that somewhere on the free agent market. More than 72. Now, 72 over how long? I believe it was the next five years? Well, no, he was due even more than that. I mean, they were talking about... 72 and guaranteed, Mike. Here's what it comes down to, Mike. I'm no psychologist or whatever, but I really think, and this is not a bash on A-Rod. I like A-Rod. I got to know him really well when he was in Texas. But I think he's like that guy who, even though he's got the great-looking wife, got all the money in the world, he just wants to see if he can still do it. You know, if he's still attractive, if some even better looking trophy wife would maybe have a little bit of that. And it's a complex with him. I think, oh, you know, I'm going to go see who tells me I'm worth $30 million, $35 million. You know, how good do I look? But wait a second. I mean, what about the whole...
from A-Rod's perspective, what about the whole, you know what? My feelings are really hurt by you, city in New York. You're a bunch of jackholes. When I was going through a spell where I wasn't doing so well, you guys crucified me. You made me feel like a complete jerk. You were rude to me and my family. I don't want any part of you. He's a big boy, though. I mean, he knows that that's just part of what you sign up for when you play in Gotham. Yeah, but isn't it worse in New York than anywhere else? In New York, that's how it is. And he should know that. So he should have known that going there. Right. And he's getting well compensated for that pain, right? But can you fault him for hating it and wanting out? But when you're going good, it's probably the best place to play in the country, wouldn't you agree? Yeah, but here's the thing, though, Eddie. He's now cheesed off Seattle, Texas, and New York. And he's running out of real estate. He's running out of time zones here. I mean, he's going to go somewhere else. He's so good. He's a great player. He's a great player. Anyway, yeah, it'll be interesting to see what's going on. I'm sure the Padres will get into that. We're in the mix. We're in the mix. Totally. Totally. You know, it sucks because there's literally maybe three, four teams that could sign him. How about Boston Rob's Day yesterday? That's unbelievable. 52-7 for the Pats. BC is probably going to whatever bowl game makes them number one, possibly. Maybe. Maybe. The Celtics are about to start kicking ass. Stop with that laugh. And the Red Sox sweep.
That's like an Antonio Cromartie day for Boston Rob. Cut six. I'm going to wake up. What is going on? Series over, and the Red Sox are world champs again. What did you do at that moment? Oh, my God. Well, I was trying to fend off all the incoming stuff on my phone. Where were you? I was at my house. Who was there? Me, my girlfriend, my brothers, my brother's girlfriend, a couple of other Sox. Were you all hugging like lunatics? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Hey, I haven't heard this yet, so I want to hear this. Trisha Yearwood singing the national anthem for seven. To honor America with the singing of our national anthem. The chick that won American Idol. Oh, no, no, no. No, that's not. That's Carrie Underwood. Trisha Yearwood. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome multi-platinum recording artist and three-time Grammy Award winner, Trisha Yearwood. Because we couldn't get Carrie Underwood. Trisha Yearwood. Can you see
By the dawn's early light What so proudly hailed At the twilight's last gleaming Whose broad stripes and bright stars Through the perilous fight O'er the rest were so gallantly streaming? I think she sounds good. Nothing wrong with that anthem, Mikey. That was good. She's awesome. The 10-year-old girl who did the anthem at the Bolts game yesterday, very solid, too. Really? I said it on the air, Eddie, and I don't know if you agree. I think that game was over yesterday, the moment that firefighter ran on the field with the American flag. I mentioned that this morning. It was pretty cool. The crowd just got frenzied, and Hank teared up. I couldn't get a word out of Hank. He got all verklempt. Hank teared up? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Legit. Wow. Did you call him a big wuss? No.
Seemed insensitive at the time, you know. He was pulling his nose hairs out, I think, as well. Now it's a little funny. Hey, speaking of being emotional, here's Jason Veritek after the World Series, cut 12. This team's got a lot of heart, and, you know, we worked real hard from coaches, staff, teammates, to... Everybody, you can do it. You just beat a very, very good team and an excellent team. And we had to do the little things and we were able to. Joe Buck mentioned unfortunately not being able to celebrate at Fenway, your home park. So what do you say to Red Sox Nation there and everywhere? I just thank them. I mean, they're our extra guy on the field, extra woman, whomever it is. And they've always been there. And you're welcome. It's a special place to play. And I'm just a little happy right now. You're that Boston Rob. You're the extra woman. I love it. This is...

I'm going to stay and listen for a bit and love the fact that the Bolts are about to go to 5-3 next week. Now, do you think that's going to be a tough game, this Minnesota? It'll be okay. Adrian Peterson's pretty good. But Sean's going to have his head on a stick. I hope so. Yeah. All right, Dumb Chick Challenge is next. I love you, Michael. I love you, too. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, it's looking kind of like a typical commute. We haven't seen this in like a whole week because of the fires and stuff. But, man, you've got plenty of brake lights to deal with now today from Monday back to work here. You've got 805 and the 5 northbound. Both of these freeways getting quite heavy out of Chilin Vista up to National City now. 805 continues to slow in the Mission Valley. And now it backs up heavily from the 163 heading up towards Governor Drive in the Golden Triangle.
West 94, that's a slow-go ride here from Kelton into the 805 freeway, and then again from 28th Street into downtown. The West 8 is kind of messed up. A couple of accidents in the Cajon Valley caused a big backup here. One backing up approaching lots of coaches from an accident there. Then from Greenfield Drive to another accident just past West Main Street. And then once you get past that whole mess, you'll find some community traffic waiting for you around Spring Street out towards Lake Murray. South by 315, slow and go from the 78 down to Vier Rancho Parkway. And the coaster ride at Sapon 5 is quite a struggle now from Poinsettia Lane in Carlsbad and past Manchester in the Cardiff area. The always diligent and hardworking Boston Rob. Yeah, I screwed that up. And Ashley. What did I say? On Rock 105.3. There it is. Back at 7.33. Saw 4 was the number one movie this weekend, making over $32 million. It was the Antonio show yesterday at the Qualcomm Stadium as Gates and Cromartie scored two touchdowns each and the Chargers beat Houston 35-10. Man, dude, I love those new uniforms so much. Like, I used to hate the Charger uniform.
I thought it was so like not cool. That's what it just wasn't cool. This new uniform is cool. This is altar bridge. I think I might break in or break down and buy it. We're going to be doing a dumb chick challenge here in just a second, but there's a couple of things we have to get out there. We have to fire containment. We, have a lot of fire containment here in the county which is great news as a matter of fact if you look at the map of the different fires going on it's just clean man it looks great yeah the horno fire in pentilton and the rice fire up in fall brook both 100 contained the harris fire which is the one burning uh down you know in south county by the border is 70 contained the witch fire oh sorry
That was my throat. It was just trying to interrupt you. Oh, okay. I thought we were just going to move past it and not acknowledge it. It's okay. The Witch Fire, which is the big one that devastated Ramona and Rancho Bernardo, that's 90% contained. And then the Pumaca Fire is the one that still needs the most help. That's the one out Palomar Mountain, Rincon, Indian. and that one's only 50% contained right now, and there still are evacuations in effect out there. A bunch of schools reopening today too, right? Yeah. The majority of the schools are reopening today as far as public schools go. Schools that are waiting till tomorrow are Carlsbad, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona, and then schools waiting till Wednesday are Bonzel and Valley Center. The church that I go to, the Rock Church, was pretty instrumental in helping evacuees. They were given an official stamp by the state over the weekend that makes them like an official place where people can receive medical help during an evacuation. But they're still doing a lot to help people. And so Miles McPherson.
senior pastor at the Rock Church, is going to come in here tomorrow and tell people what their new efforts are to help out people that were affected by the wildfire, so we'll do that tomorrow. Dozens of people were arrested yesterday in Boston for post-game celebrations. Anybody that knows Boston Rob, that is no surprise at all. It's just not a surprise at all to anyone. Yeah, they say at least 37 people were arrested. Oh, jeez. Was anybody concerned about Boston Rob last night? Oh, definitely. See, I felt like he's grown up to a point where I didn't have to worry about him. Well, I flipped my own car over last night. Other than that, throw bricks through my own window. What happened? Did he not behave himself? No, I think he did, but I was legitimately freaking out. I was like, man, is he going to show up tomorrow? I don't know. No, I thought he's well past that stuff. If he didn't show up today, it'd be... The Red Sox won the World Series. I know. It's not like this is an everyday occurrence. Yeah, it still hasn't hit me. Maybe like Wednesday will hit me and I'll go out and have a bender, but... Great. Boy, it's something we can all look forward to. Right? I can't wait. Lesson learned, huh? In what made fruit to be a favorable inudal exercise in the substantiation of mental acumen, The Mikey Show presents a somewhat gelastic moiety called The Dumb Chick Challenge.
Dumb Chick Challenge is where we ask easy questions to the two dumb chicks on the show and one dumb chick listener. We get Sky and Ashley to compete against a female P1. And what we ask you, the audience, to do is call in and pick. Who would you like, Sky or Ashley? And then one of you ladies out there in the listening audience will compete for yourself. The way the game is played is you are asked easy questions that are given a point value, one through three. Ones are easy, threes are hard, and the first person of five points is the winner. It takes a while. Unfortunately. Yes. Pull up the chair. Strap yourselves in. Shut up. P1 Bass Assassin, who would you like to select? I'm going to go with Skye. What up? You know, Skye, you have been selected first in the Dumb Chick Challenge for many, many weeks now. Really? Yeah. So most people are banking on you.
to pull this sucker out for him. I'm not really sure why. Yeah, I'm not really sure why either, but that's very nice. Thank you. Hang on the line, Bass Assassin. Maybe it's a perception that Ashley is a bit of an airhead. All you have to do is listen, though. P1 crew. I'm taking Ashley. You're taking Ashley. Ash, can you hear me? Yeah, where are you, Ash? Can you hear me? What? Ash, can you hear me? Hang on the line. Ash! Oh my, where are you getting all these sound effects, Sean? P1 Michelle. What the hell? Stop it. Michelle, are you there? You're going to be playing for yourself. How does that sound? Sounds good. All right, listener started last time, so Sky, you begin. Would you like a one, two, or three point question? Wow, I'm shocked that you got that right. Well, it's my focalin. It's really kicking in. I'm on a medication called focalin.
I mean, it's almost like having erectile dysfunction and you're on bone dracil. But I'm really taking a medicine called focalin. Wow. And it's helping me to focal in on things that Sky says and things that everybody says. I think I'll go for a tube, please. What's that, Eddie? I thought that's what you... I don't want anything. Don't put me into this. Whoa. See, I think you should go for it, but you play it safe. I'm going to warm up. I'm warming up with a tube. All right, Skye, what is Three Mile Island known for? Oh, man. Just immediate don't know. Oh, boy. Immediate don't know. Immediate don't know on her face. Skye. It is known for being three miles in length. That is incorrect. Or diameter. Oh, no. It's impossible. Three Mile Island was known for a nuclear meltdown. Three miles above sea level. Wow.
Oh, my God. Wow. Only one in U.S. history, by the way. What was it again? I didn't. Nuclear meltdown. Okay. Where's that at? Oh, my God. Three Mile Island is not even really an island. Three Mile Meltdown? Three Mile Island is not even really an island. It's in Pennsylvania, and it's located three miles up the river from some big city in Pennsylvania. That's why they call it Three Mile Island, but it's where they had this big nuclear power plant. Randy, do you know, did you just say? Harrisburg. Harrisburg. You're from Pennsylvania, aren't you? No, but I lived in Pittsburgh. Okay. Our consultant, Randy, is in the studio today. And yeah, so it's up the river from Harrisburg, Sky. And at this place, what they do with nuclear power plants, I know this is going to bore you, but I still want to tell you anyway. I'll try my best. You know, when they create nuclear energy, it gets extraordinarily hot. I've heard that. And so what they do is, I'm falling asleep and snooze along. So they use water to cool it down. Yeah. Well, one of those things that controlled the water, it malfunctioned. And so the stuff started to leak. Oh, that's not good, Mike. Well, it's so not good that sky, it'll keep burning a hole right through the earth. Yeah, a meltdown. To China? That's what they call it, the China syndrome.
Because they say it could potentially melt all the way through the earth. That's how hot it is. Gets you a pretty bad sunburn, Mike. That's right. Someone put urine in a bottle. All right. I missed it. Oh, if you missed it, don't worry. It'll be on the best of the Mikey show series. Oh, no. Wow. Yes, missed the claw. Yes, that's right. All right. Please move along. Thank you. For the benefit of listeners that are new to the show. No one is new to the show. They're all new. No one's ever new. What we're referring to there is that Skye had a sunburn one time. Everyone knows. Great. Thanks. Went home from work. Okay. 50 years ago. Thank you. She had her mother come and pick her up, take her home. Ancient history. They called the Kaiser on-call nurse, and the on-call nurse suggested putting urine on it. I almost cried. A sunburn. Thank you. For sunburn, yes. Please move on. What Sky refers to as a second-degree sunburn. That's what the doctor called it. So they put it in a spray bottle. That's right. And they put it in a spray bottle, they sprayed it on her, and it didn't work. Well, how did that help all the blisters? There was no blisters. What? But I thought you just said second-degree sunburn. By definition, a second-degree sunburn is a sunburn with blisters, but she didn't have blisters. Not all the time. Oh. So, Ashley. Ashley, you're up. Would you like a one, two, or three-point question?
She's looking at Eddie. He's giving her the sign. Eddie's giving her the sign. It's very subtle. You're telling me to bunt. I love telling you to bunt. I'll go. So, Ashley, you want a one-point question? I'll go. All right, here we go. Ashley, what president delivered the Gettysburg Address? Delivered it? Like Domino's? Like, if you don't get the Gettysburg in 30 minutes and three? That's interesting. UPS. The big brown truck delivered it. Megan Brown's it for you. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do. DHL. The Gettysburg Address was a while ago. So I will say... It's been years. Someone that was a president a while ago. Come on, hurry up. Reagan. Oh, you... I mean, I really don't care. That just affected your personal life. No, it doesn't. At all. That just affected your personal life. It really affected me, though. It did. I'm good. You know how. Whenever Ashley gets a question, she says, it doesn't affect my personal life. I go home, I'm the same.
I'm the same person. I'm happy. It's fine. You're happy that you just said Reagan? I mean, we don't care. You should. Does it fill you with delight that you said Ronald Reagan? Well, I mean, I could give a rip. It's Abe Lincoln. Check it. Okay, good. Check it to know. I'm humiliated. All right, people on Michelle. Michelle, what would you like? A one, two, or three-pointer? She's bleeding milk in there. She has no idea what that reference is. I know. Ashley, the clips that you're hearing are from the movie Alien, where... No, never mind. Forget it. I've never seen the movie. I've never seen the movie, and I really don't care. Michelle. Yeah. One, two, or three-pointer? Two points. Two points. Please, Michelle. Do some good for the woman's movement. Michelle, what office did Bill Clinton hold before becoming president? Be specific. Governor of Arkansas? You are correct. Oh, we got a nerd alert. We have someone of average intelligence. Shut up, Sean. So, Eddie, does that mean that P1 Michelle is the only person on the scoreboard? Yes, she's the only person to score so far with two points. It's two to nothing. Sky, a one, a two, or a three-point question. First person of five wins. Only person on the board has scored two points.
All right, I'm going to go for another two, please. All right, Skye's been talked into a two-pointer by Eddie. Eddie said, hey, Skye, take it slow. No need to rush this, girl. It's Monday. We're good. Stick with your game plan. Thank you. All right, Skye, your two-point question is, name the scandal that ultimately led to President Nixon's resignation. President? Watergate? That is correct. That's so easy. I can't even believe it was that. Well, because I was like... Sometimes when I feel it's too easy, I get it wrong. Watch again. I was scared. Ashley, what do you want? A one, two, or three pointer? Look at Eddie. What's the sign? What's his... He's giving her the sign. Damn, you think I can pull that? Okay. I'll do it, guys. Oh, wow. I believe Ashley said, give me a three, guys. Nice. Here she goes. She's the craziest play of the game. Ashley, who was the most notorious figure in the savings and loans scandal? Now, before you say a word, before you say a word, can we pass? Before you say a word, Ashley, who would like action on this? Why are you having me play this game? I'll take any money you got. Why? Why are you having me play this game? No chance. Like, I don't understand. What's the point? Because, Ashley, you might know it. Why would I know it?
that? Because maybe somebody just mentioned it to you at a hip-hop class. Like about a savings and loans plan and like someone who like ran it? I don't know. Maybe you ran into some girl last night at a hip-hop class and she said... Do you know who my friends are outside of the show? You think we talked about that class? They discussed the ins and outs of Sesame Street. Oh, come on. Well, that's insulting. They discussed the ins and outs of shows like The Hills and Real World. Well, Ash, I'm going to have to put you down as not knowing. I didn't even remember the question. Notorious B.I.G. Who was the most notorious figure in the savings and loan scandal? Come on. Take a guess. Would I know the name? No. Then why are we wasting any more time? It's Charles Keating. Fascinating. Personal life. I feel better now that I know that. That's going to affect your personal life, I'm telling you. Yeah, I'm going to live better knowing that. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers.

Awesome! You are a very lucky man. Boston Rob. Brandon Vera will be in here in just a little bit. I got an email that said the following. Mikey, I live in Ramona and I'm a P1. Just wanted to tell you about two friends of mine.
that stayed behind to fight the fires who were also P1s. Last Sunday afternoon, they rented an 1,800-gallon tank on a trailer from BJ's Rentals in Ramona. They first went out to save one of their fiancée's parents' house, then went on to fight fires all over the Ramona area. Wow. They would refill at the Ramona Water District when they would run out of water. They saved a couple of houses on their own and attacked any blaze not attended to by firefighters. Dang, that's brave. They worked for days, the first two without sleep. They told some pretty crazy stories you might want to hear. If you want to get in contact with them or something, I could set it up. Well, we did. That was from P1 Eddie. One of the guys that did it is P1 Aaron, and he's on the line. Aaron, how are you? Good. How are you guys doing? Good, man. Hey, listen. First of all, thank you. Hey, no problem, man. We're just doing our good deeds, trying to help out the community. That's really an amazing thing what you did. Well, first of all, walk me through this. Was it your fiancé or the other guy's fiancé? No, it was my other buddy's fiancé. We stayed behind on Sunday, actually, when the fire came in. They all evacuated to my house. I live in San Marcos. And started from there, we loaded up the truck.
And the first, it was actually on Sunday and Monday, we went without a trailer. In the back of my buddy's truck fighting in the back of the San Diego Country Estate, 4.30, 5 o'clock in the morning. We actually saved the house on the corner of Belmore and Ramon Oaks Road. And we sat there for two hours putting out this fire on this house. There was no firefighters around. And we went back in the morning about 7, and it was good to go. So we just went on from there. Early Tuesday morning, B.J. Reynolds opened up, and it was actually an 800-gallon trailer with a trash pump on it and 100 foot. Started from there and went to my buddy's house out by Highland Valley because we were thinking it was coming around by the airport over there. Saved that, went up into Highland Valley, started fighting fires out there, and then moved back towards Old Julian Highway, helping out as much as we could.
started turning into, we got hooked up with the Emergency Animal Rescue, and with saving animals, there was lots of ranchers with cows and horses and pigs and anything you could think of. It's been a busy week for you, Aaron. What's that? It's been a busy week for you. I was finished about 8 o'clock on Saturday night. What do you actually do for a living? I own my own company in Escondido. Why don't you give it a plug? You deserve it. It's CrossFit Custom Paint in Escondido. I'm on 375 State Place. My phone number is 760-522-1445. You know, show this guy that God repays good deeds. And if you need any of that, call him up and use his business because he should be repaid for good things that he's done. And Eddie and Sky have a question for you. I'm going to let them ask you in just a second. But I wanted to ask you, describe what this...
Describe what this vehicle looks like or this thing that holds the water. Is there just a hose attached to it, and you open up a valve, and it just starts spraying with pressure? How does it work? It's a trailer. It's an 800-gallon tank, and it's got a trash pump on it, which is a high-pressure water pump, basically, with a generator. Right. And we had 100-foot of fire hose, and it will spray 50, 60 feet out of the hose. Wow. And we could fill out a 50-gallon jug to feed animals in about a minute. Wow. That's amazing. I mean, we figured we did over 35,000 gallons of water through that tank. Eddie, you got a question for Aaron? Yeah, I actually have multiple questions because this is so crazy. But have you ever considered becoming like a volunteer firefighter, like make it official? Now, yeah.
I love fighting fires. I did it in the Cedar Fire. We stayed behind and stayed out there. I enjoy it. Obviously, I'm guessing real firefighters are probably telling you you shouldn't do stuff like that. But did you have a chance to talk? Or do they? I don't know. Actually, all the firefighters we ran into were thankful for us. By the end of the week, they're calling us the fire dudes. There you go. That's awesome. Highway Patrol, they all do it with the fire dudes. That's unreal. Sky. Yeah, that was my first question about what the firefighter said. But my other question was, and, you know, now knowing that you helped in the Cedar fires, was there ever, like, that moment where you considered doing it or not doing it? You know what I mean? Or was there never a question in your mind you just knew you had to get out there and help? Oh, there was never a question in my mind. Wow. We stayed behind. We sent my buddy's wife and my girlfriend and all the girls.
all the kids down to my house in San Marcos, and we stuck behind and started working, you know. Like I said, loaded trucks and started going. We never thought twice about it. It's really incredible, man. It's really incredible what you did. And I'm sure a lot of people listening are very thankful. Fire dudes. Fire dudes. The Ramona fire dudes. Well, you know what could help us right now is maybe putting in a good deed to DJ's rentals because by the middle of the week, they want to charge us 80 bucks. to $150 and told us our bill was over $600 to rent this thing. So anybody's call in there to give them some crap about this, you know. I don't think it's right. You didn't sign a contract? Because I know when, like, I rent a U-Haul or whatever, you sign an agreement saying what your rate is going to be. And so do you have that piece of paper? They said it was $80 a day. And on the paperwork, it says $320 a week. So we've had it for a week now. Well, if it says $320 a week. $150 a day.
If it says $3.20 a week, and it's on paper, then that's all they can legally charge you. Yeah, you pay what's on the contract, and if they want to take you to court, you hold on to that piece of paper. Hang on a second. I don't want to badmouth anybody. I don't want to get into this game of he said, she said, and all that stuff. I'm really not interested in that company and what they did and blah, blah, blah. I know you may have a beef with them, bro, and that's totally understandable, but I'd prefer you keep it between you and them. I don't want to bring it on the radio. I understand. I understand. I just don't want to bring it on the radio. I want to thank you, though, Aaron, because what you did was really an amazing thing. You didn't have to do it. You did it because you cared about your community, and I think you should be commended for it, and it's really awesome, man. Really awesome what you did. Thank you, guys. All right, Aaron. We'll see you. Much appreciated. You guys have a good day? You too, man. Yeah, that is... True bravery, man. More balls than I do. That's right. It's just crazy that he said there wasn't even a moment's thought of, should I not do this? He just went and did it. And I think normal people, you kind of weigh, you know, okay, well, I could really lose my life doing this. But it's a hero, man. P1 Linda. Hey, hi. How are you guys doing? Good. First of all, we did lose our house. I'm over the crying and sobbing. And I just want to thank...
All the family and friends. This city is so supportive. The people of Ramona. We don't need no clothes, that's for sure. In fact, we have clothes to donate now. That's cool. But, you know, as we, I mean, we barely got out of there. We were at the end of Magnolia in Black Canyon. And I'll tell you, that flame came down that hill. And the only way I can describe it, it looked like a waterfall coming down. I mean, I had my grandbaby in the car. We just, you couldn't see the road to drive and the fire department. They were too busy helping people get out. And it was the most worst thing I've ever gone through, the most scariest thing. But as we went to my mom's in Claremont, we were sitting around, you know, just, you know, telling how we got out and started saying, oh, this and that. I wish we had gotten this and all those pictures and, you know, but those are, that's... gone and we can't dwell on it but my husband turns to me goes my aussie tickets and i went oh i said babe i said i'm sure we can get your tickets back um and my my husband's been an aussie fan since day one he's 50 and he still is into rock and roll and he can tell you everything about aussie black sabbath kiss all that stuff but we did give one one of the tickets when he first got them to his co-worker so we can get the section and seat number
But I would love to get my tickets back for my husband and my daughter. I'm sure we could help you out. It would just be one less headache, one less thing on my to-do list to do. Hang on, Linda. Can you hang on a minute? Sure. We'll try to get you fixed up there. Yeah, that's no problem at all. That's a bummer. You know, there's a crazy story going on, too, right now with this couple in Poway. We've even heard about the neighborhood because this neighborhood, houses burned down in this neighborhood. Well, this couple, they got in their pool. Yeah, it's like this unincorporated part of Poway that kind of blends into the San Pasquale Valley area. So like Mikey was saying, it's that couple that we heard about in the Poway area that died. So they're, well, it's in the same area. Their neighbors. Yeah. So they're in the pool and they're just inhaling smoke. Oh my gosh. You know, but they're trying to stay alive because if they get out of the pool, and I'll tell you something, it would have been so dangerous for them to get out of that pool because when you mix the heat. With the water, it's steam. You'd cook. Yeah. You'll cook. Yeah. And they actually said they started off in the shallow end, but then their house was burning down and debris from their house was actually falling into the shallow end. So they went to the deep end under like a little waterfall thing, and they just hid under there in the deep end for hours. Holy cow. That is so unbelievable. Well, anyway, they have been on the news quite a bit, and this is just a segment of it. Cut 56.
We ducked our head under that overhang. I think about three hours. About three hours. Actually, it was about an eternity and a half. It's the longest wait I've ever had for a ride. And thank heavens we never filled the pool in. We talked about that. We were going to fill it in, not fill it in, but we needed the escape plan if it ever happened. Can you imagine they almost filled the pool in? Yeah, and it's sad because they were friends with the people down the road who died, that couple that died down the road. And so they had actually even talked to them earlier in the evening and said, hey, if you guys are trapped in by the flames and you can't get out, feel free, come on over, jump in our pool. You always know our pool is a safe place. See, I'm wondering, why is this conversation going on? Why is the conversation not, hey, we're all getting out of here?
Right. Let's go now. Because basically with the San Pasquale area, what had happened is the witch fire was going on. So it was close, but I guess it was an evacuation status. These people say they were never evacuated. But when those power lines fell at one o'clock in the morning, they ignited the flame that just right up the hill. So there wasn't time to actually, you know, get to those people. And no evacuation notice. No, because, I mean, the power lines fell. I guess kind of the way I read it is it sounds like the power lines fell in this valley. And they were on the top of the valley. And the wind just carried that flame right up the hill. So there wasn't even time. That is unbelievable, man. You hear stories like that all the time through this. This is unreal. There's been some changes. With the reverse 911 system, they've been enhanced. When we come back, I'm going to tell you exactly how. Because it could be life and death for you. But they've tried to enhance the reverse 911 system. We'll explain after this. Let it go off your shoulder, don't you know. I'll tell you one of the reasons that I love my wife. Friday night, her and I had a very lengthy conversation, a very deep, very engaging conversation about the song Open Arms. And I told her something and I said, now, if I admit this on the show, I know that I'm going to be an outcast. And she said, well, you deserve it. Wow. I said, it will not be met with positive reviews. Oh, no. What? Well, what we were discussing was the integrity of Chicago love songs versus Journey. And I said, I feel that for the most part, Journey has integrity. I said, but I'm not a fan of open arms. Oh. Oh. Pardon? Crazy. And she said, what is your issue with open arms? And I said,
I believe it straddles the line between heartfelt and cheese ball, and I think it more often than not steps into the cheese ball arena. Wow. How dare you? Tough love it is. Tough love. Wow. I mean, from the opening notes, I'm already like, okay. What? I get it. You're a love song. And she goes, you're telling me that you don't think that those words are really heartfelt? And I said, I think that it's almost a cheap shot. It's like walking up behind somebody and going, boo! Of course they're going to jump. It's not fair. It's not even fair. But... I mean, and it's pretty... It's pretty cheeseball. Now, compared to faithfully... That's what we compared it to. What do you think? I said... I believe that faithfully straddles cheese ball and does not step over. And she goes, we all need a clown to make us smile. Doesn't step over. I said, okay, you got me there. It doesn't, it doesn't do it as much as open arms, which is a complete and utter. I mean, it's like you just smeared the cheddar all over you, Michael.
No, I don't. I'll tell you who writes love songs, and this is what I said to her. I'm so upset by this. She said, give me, and I said, I don't consider, and this one really got her. This one really upset her. Oh, no. I said, I do not put open arms in the classic love song category. It's really upset her. Yeah, that's crazy talk. I said, a classic love song is Lady by Kenny Rogers. And she goes, yeah, yeah, no doubt about it. But what's the difference? I said, Lady is... Lady, I believe, came from a place of true sentiment. Lady? Yes. That's not cheeseball? You're all over the map, Mike. You're the opposite. I'm telling you, in my world, this makes sense. What about I tumble for you?
What about Clapton Wonderful tonight? Why the cheap shot? No. No cheap shot, bro. No cheap shot, bro. Opening note. Same thing. Opening note, it says, timeless. You are the worst. How did you do the same thing? I mean, it's like Judah in my ears. Also, any song written by Lionel Richie. classic wait wait i don't disagree with that i can't i can't i'm trying to follow it though i want the answer to clapton wonderful tonight because i believe that's the same as the journey but i know you're so wrong so wrong yeah wonderful tonight is a legitimate classic journey is an 80s love song so i can understand mikey's argument so you're saying it's not a classic
I'm saying I can understand Mikey's argument. Is the insanity spreading? I'm saying I can understand his argument. Is it contagious? Do I need a mask? A lot of people consider a lot of those 80s love songs cheesy. Now you guys, I know you guys feel that Journey, Open Arms is not cheesy. And I can understand that. My wife does not feel it's cheesy. But I said that I can't put it into the category of classic like I can with Kenny Rogers' Lady and Anything by Lionel Richie. Oh, my God. I mean, is he trying to kill me? Okay. Lionel Richie? I mean, is he trying to devastate my life? You're a nutbag. Is he trying to destroy me emotionally? Oh, I've been alone with you inside my mind. Oh, my God. Imagine being in the studio when this is recorded, Sky. You know that he had, like, palm trees shipped in. Palm trees? Candlelight. Palm trees? He said...
He said, I want you to take, I want you to take that. There has to be red velvet somewhere. Everywhere. Somewhere. Somewhere. How about everywhere? Herbal tea always brewing. Yes. Little lemon. Yeah. Little honey. And Rebecca goes, I'm so irritated that Nicole Richie is his daughter. Right. She goes, why couldn't it have been me? So much. He's completely shaved in his private area. Okay, that was unnecessary. Is that true, Sean? Sean, is that true? That didn't fit there. With the red velvet. Wow. Sean. Oh, ballerina girl anyone? Thank you. I'll pass. I'll pass on that one. I'm good. Fine. I devastated Rebecca further by letting her know that Elton John didn't write one song. Oh. It really upset her. Is that true? I didn't know that.
What's the guy's name? Tim Rice? Bernie Toppin. Bernie Toppin. Yeah, Tim Rice. Barry Capel. Bernie Capel, right? Yeah. Doc from the Love Boat. Doc from the Love Boat. All of them. He was Elton John's ghostwriter. Who knew? Sky, you didn't know that Elton John didn't write any of his own songs? Co-write? Didn't even co-write them. What? He wrote the music. Not even Tiny Dancer? No. Oh, that's sad. That's sad. No. All those songs that sound so great. And this is the one that she wrote. Not even your song? The one she brought up. Not his song. It should have been called Not My Song. Bernie's song. Yeah, Bernie. Yeah, all those great Elton John songs that you love. But didn't write a word. This is gorgeous. Not one word. It sucks. Wow, it just really excited me that I was breaking so many people's hearts right now. Oh, that's terrible. I didn't write.
played all the music but he didn't write a word of it how about i'll tumble for you sean stop it can you imagine all the 80s love songs that sean must like yeah how do you feel about like chicago and foreigner and like those because those are journey-esque Yeah, I mean, I happen to like them. I don't like any of the Chicago, like, Peter Ceteris. Oh, my goodness. How dare you? Now, see, I was just going to say, and I mean this. I mean this with 100% sincerity, and I consider myself to be one of the nerdiest, biggest Journey fans ever. Nobody is on par with Chicago, period. End of story. Amen. That's the end of it. Chicago, to me, is the greatest. You cannot compare to Chicago. Nothing does. Oh, Sky, are you kidding me? Nothing compares to Chicago. In terms of love songs, I don't think you could even come close to that. Wow, statement. I think that everything else has to come in second. You better be able to back that up. I'm going to back it up. Yeah, back that up. It's going on record. Back that ass up. Yeah, back it up, Mike. I can top it. I can top Chicago. Get him, Eddie. What? And you'll have no argument. You'll feel bad. You'll feel bad. I don't know if I should even say it. I want to hear it.
Are you sure? Mike, do it. Well, I'm trying to find my stupid Chicago song that I love more than any Chicago song ever. I'll let you do it. 25, 64, whatever. No, that's not it. That's cool. When I say this band, though, you're going to be embarrassed. And I don't want to do that to you. Oh, I want you to. What's the song that, after all we've been through, I will make it. That's Gloria Love. No, no, no, no. I promise to. And after all this been said. Oh! That's it. Eddie, you're saying that you're going to give me a band with love songs more powerful than this song right here? Easily. If you say Martika Toy Soldiers, you're up there. Great song. Tony Basil. This is the most incredible love song ever in the history of love songs.
Whatever. All right, Eddie, what do you got? It's not an 80s band. It's Boyz II Men. Ooh. Great point. Wow. That was just unfair. Wow. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Wow. That was unfair. I'm sorry. Wow, Mike. You can't bring Boyz II Men into this. Now what do you think, Mike? I brought a gun to a knife fight. That he did. Wow, Mike. Yeah, he did. You're embarrassed. He just loogied in your face. Come on. It's pretty tough to argue with that. It's pretty tough to argue. You can't. Let's get in the bath. Wait. Did you just say? Eddie. Is that weird? Eddie. Guy, let's get in the bath. Well, you automatically, when I hear this song, I see a big bathtub with bubbles everywhere, candlelight. Rose petals. The moment her and the boom fell in love. Wow. Oh. Oh, it's beautiful. It's honey. Way to go, Eddie.
How has no producer thought of getting a bunch of talented black guys together and forming a super group again? I mean, it's just that you don't have it anymore. Like, you don't have any R&B, like, bands out there right now. It's all solo artists. It's not true. Give me an R&B band. Bunch of black guys. The people that sing Get It Shouty. Bill Robb and his posse. There's four of them. Lil Rob's sitting right next to you. Yeah, he's right there. He's a white kid. He's always there. What are you talking about? He is a solo artist. He's a white boy. This is true. Lil Rob? Get it, Shoddy? They're very, very popular, but I think there's never going to be another Boyz II Men, just like there's never going to be another NSYNC. So you can try, but... This is the music of Lil Rob. This is one of their faster tins. He's Hispanic. Ben said he's Hispanic. Charlie Brown over there said he's Hispanic. No, there's four of them. Zed, you're saying that he's Hispanic? There are four black guys. Low Rob is Hispanic. Well, then maybe it's not. You ever seen Get It Shouty? There'll never be another Mexican band like Menudo. Oh, no. No, this isn't them. This is so gorgeous. It's called Get It Shouty. Oh, I feel I'm falling in love all over again. Just like Boyz II Men. Boyz II Men, New Edition, Little Shorty. You type in Get It Shouty. Anyone want a slow dance? Can you hear me? No.
It's almost exactly like Open Arms. Get the bathtub ready. Yeah, I think I should get married to this song. This is her idea of love. Oh, it's so sweaty and filthy. What just happened? Yeah, very sweaty song. It's very sweaty and ugly. Turn that off. What are they talking about? P1 Lucy. Hey, how about Air Supply? Hey, listen. What's your thoughts? Careful. Saturday night. I was listening to the gayest music in my car. I'm not kidding you. I was like... Cruisin'. Dude, I was so glad that no one knew what I was listening to. I was listening to the gayest music. I was cranking Air Supply. I love Air Supply. I can't help it. I think you're right. I think Air Supply's got to be up there. Oh. I wish I had a pair of cut-off jean shorts to wear while listening to this. I'm glad you don't.
By the way, Sean just IM'd me and said Get It Shoddy is by Lloyd. Yeah, by Lloyd. I just looked at him. I got them all confused. I get my blacks confused all the time. I can't help it. They all look and sound the same. It's not what I'm saying. Wait a minute. Isn't boys to men Lloyd anyway? I mean, I think... It's by Lil Minority. Oh, no. It's Mikey. The Mikey Show is on. Little sweet Caroline. Some good stuff right there. So I told you that we're going to tell you about this reverse 911 system because county supervisor Greg Cox said they've enhanced it. Cut 51. The system we have now, we implemented reverse 911 two years ago. Now we have a new system called a mass notification system that can get out 400,000 calls per hour. 1.1 million people in San Diego County. We can call everybody in three hours. And that system will actually have the ability, if people want to basically subscribe and it's not a cost thing, it's just a matter of calling up for their cell phones. But the mass notification system we have now will allow you to sign up on your cell phone and allow you to sign up for email, for text messaging. There you go, man. That's pretty cool. Yeah. So I definitely suggest it can't hurt, you know, because I mean, I was wondering about that because kind of the new trend is people not having home phones and having cell phones. And then I was thinking about the reverse 911.
How would those people get a message? So what you want to do is you want to go online. The website is alertsandiego.org. It's alertsandiego.org. And basically what you'll do there is you'll enter your street address and then they can link any cell phone number and any email address to that street address. So if you do get a reverse 911, you'll get it on your email, your cell phone, and your home phone. That's awesome. Yeah, it's a great idea. Brandon Vera's here. Shut up! Oh my goodness. That's a big cast. Oh my gosh. Look at that cast, man. How you doing? That does not look fun right there. Brandon, we're on the air. Have a seat. Dude. I brought you guys shirts. Thank you. Awesome. Thank you, bro. Brandon, that cast is gigantic. This is going to be interesting, asking you about this. I mean, you've experienced something that so few can say that they've ever experienced. Brandon Vera, who fought against Tim Sylvia in Cincinnati, lost the fight in a decision, right? Yeah, a unanimous decision. It was a decision, but you hate to make excuses, but the guy broke his hand. What are you going to do, man? How far into the fight?
were you when you broke your hand, Brandon? We reviewed the tapes a couple times, me and my coaches. It was the very first punch of the fight. Shut up. It was the first jab. It was the very first jab. I threw a jab. I threw a stiff, hard jab left. Tim Sylvia came walking into it and moved right. And his face, as he came right, caught my thumb and peeled it back like a banana. Oh, wow. Did it hurt? At first, it didn't hurt. I didn't want to clinch right away. I jabbed him, and then I ducked down. I was going to cut the angle. But then I was like, man, it doesn't feel right. So I grabbed him, and he ran me into the cage. I was trying to figure out what was going on, and I just realized I couldn't grip my hands anymore. I didn't know if I dislocated it or what, because the whole time I could feel it. It made like a sloshing sound the whole time. So wait a minute. When you say you reviewed the tape, and you've come to the conclusion after reviewing the tape that it was the first punch. Is that because at the time you were filled with adrenaline, and so you don't remember when it happened? No, I remember when it happened. I knew it was before the first clinch, but before the first clinch, I didn't know how many punches were thrown. The tape was only one. Man, it happens. I mean, what can you do? And then my favorite part about it was after I realized my hand was broke, after the first round, I came out of my corner, and I was like, hey, coach, my left hand's broke.
He said, forget your left hand. You don't need your left hand. Punch with your right and kick with your left. I looked at him. I said, okay. All right, then. Brandon, okay, so how much of a role did that hand play? If you'd had your hand, do you believe that you would have gone on to win the fight? Yes. Short answer, yes. Thank you. But I really... Don't like making excuses. Tim won that night. Dude, he laid on you for three rounds. I mean, come on. He did. He did. He got you up against a fence, and then he just put his weight on you, and he just held you there. And my clinch is a lot better than that. I can't use my clinch. It was just a lot of things. And one thing that has bothered me, though, somebody wrote me and wrote me, after you lost the fight, you were smiling. How could you be smiling the whole time after the fight? And I kind of want to address them and anybody else.
that that email actually bothered me like it's been bothering me why was i smiling after i lost the fight in my mind i was thinking well i had a broken hand you know i couldn't do half of the stuff that i wanted to do tim was giving it to me the last minute of the third round and during the whole fight and that's all he has to offer I was thinking, man, I'm not doing too bad. Even with a broken hand, we're going to be all right. I can't wait to get back in here and go again. Right. So that's why I was smiling. I was already looking forward to coming back to the cage and rehabbing and getting better. That's why I was smiling. I wasn't smiling because I lost. I was for sure mad that I lost. Okay, so let's walk through this. First of all, how long will it take to heal? It should take eight weeks to heal, but probably less. I don't know. I'm just going to rehab hard. I'm really into all the alternative medicines right now, like prolotherapy. I'm doing everything that I can to get my hand back to where it needs to be. So you're telling me, Brandon Bear is in studio. Brandon, you're saying in eight weeks you could throw a punch with that hand? That's what the doctor told me, yeah. Come on. So they didn't have to put any pins or anything in there? Actually, I went. I flew home. Well, I was going to fly home after the fight. Right. But one of my coaches, we have a friend who's a hand specialist, does judo.
And then he referred us to the hand specialist that does the Baltimore Ravens, the Orioles, the Redskins. He does all their hand surgeries and stuff. And he's a chief surgeon over at the hand surgery center. So we went over. I flew back to the East Coast. I had an appointment on Monday, appointment on Tuesday, my prep stuff on Wednesday, and I was in surgery on Thursday. At first, they told me I would only need one screw and one pin. Then they said, oh, we might have to do two screws. I remember after I woke up from surgery, he was like, hey, Brandon, we put three screws in your hand. I was like, oh, okay. Now, Brandon, what does he say in terms of your being able to use it fully once it's healed? Is it going to be back to 100%? He said it'll be 100%, and then I was asking him, you know, always prepare for the worst. I said, so look, if the same thing does happen again, where the screws are won't break, it'll break higher, right? And he said, yep, exactly. That's what's going to happen. So he said, your hand, that's the best thing about... That's the best thing about breaking something, I guess. It's the only part of your body that actually comes back stronger. It calcifies and that part of your bone becomes harder. So you're going to keep those screws in there? Yeah, I can't take those out. Wait a second. You're telling me the next time you fight a guy, you're going to have screws in your hand? For sure. It's like Wolverine. That kid's going to be screwed. Okay, so...
It can be back to 100%. Now, the next question is, what does this mean? What does this loss mean in terms of the UFC giving you your due? Because I already was of the opinion that they weren't... I wanted to see the UFC let you escalate quicker than you were, and I already didn't think that they were. What does this mean? This means I fell off the ladder. I need to get back on and work my way back up again. I've already been asking, who am I fighting next? Who am I fighting next? And they're like, Let your hand heal first, and then we'll talk about who you're going to fight, man. I want to know now who I'm going to fight. Yeah, I mean, absolutely. But, I mean, losses are a blessing in disguise. The first week was real hard. I think I did an interview after that, and I was smashing Tim. I really can't smash him too bad. He won. I'd love to see you guys fight again. Yeah, I really, really would. Joe, I was really disappointed when I watched the tape, that lackluster performance that I put on.
That we put on. I just thought that was the most boring fight. I've ever been a part. I don't ever want to do a fight. That looks anything like that again. Was it nerves? Do you think that you were a little too jacked up for this fight? It could have been a whole bunch of different things. I trained for 12 weeks that fight. I broke my hand that fight. I was nervous having fought in 11. You know it's a whole bunch of different things. I think just accumulation of everything. The third round I choked. Like I didn't even fight the third round. It looked like I was just kind of in there looking around. throwing elbows once in a while. The second round, I woke up a little bit, but I honestly don't know what happened. There were times during the fight where you connected with him, and I thought, if he does that a couple times, it's going to knock him out. You rocked him a couple times. When you did connect, you rocked him. I know. I should have did it more. Should have did it more. Now, Brandon, the great thing about it is that now, knowing, experiencing it, you could go into that same exact, Octagon with that same exact guy and be a lot more... Confident. Yeah. A lot more ready to go and just mentally in a place where you can beat him up. For sure. That's why I was smiling a lot at the end of the fight. I remember everybody was like, man, he was hitting you hard. I was like, when...
I don't remember him hitting me hard. And then I looked online the next day and there's pictures of my face with the stink face. Like I just got punched. My face is going one way. His fist is going the other. And I was like, man, I don't even remember that punch, man. I don't ever remember being dizzy or being like, wow, that was a good shot. I remember, I think I remember him hitting me one time hard. And I was like, ooh, that was a good one. But other than that, I don't remember anything making me nervous. And that makes me feel even better. I was like, oh man. I'm good to go now. A loss is not a place you're familiar with. What do people say to you afterwards? Your wife say after they're not used to having to be in the position of consoling you. I know everybody was kind of like, how are you? How are you? I was like, man, I'm fine. I got to go get surgery and get some staples in my head. I had staples put in my head. He split me on top of my head. We took him out on two days ago. Really? On Saturday, yeah. Can you see where it happened? I think so. Be careful. So his fist split your head. No, I think it was his elbow. Up there? Up here. Oh, that's nuts. I don't want to see you. Oh, my. He looked fine. But it was, you know, all this stuff that we're going through after the fight.
actually adds to me wanting to train harder and improve myself more become a student of the game again and improve that much more so i never have to go through this again because the losing part and the aftermath of losing like going to get surgery going through all those appointments getting staples put in your head against it that sucks i would think so oh man and you got to see this cast the cast is giant Eddie, were you going to ask me? Here's one of the things that was irritating me. We consider you a friend now and all that stuff. Listening to Joe Rogan say, this is Tim Sylvia at his best and he looks great. I'm like, I have eyes. What are you talking about? Tim Sylvia looked like crap. He was talking about he wanted to put on an exciting fight. He doesn't know why people boo him. That was why people boo him because he's a boring fighter and he's just a lump. Do you think Rogan believed that? Or was Rogan just trying to paint this picture to make it like awesome? I don't know. We'll ask him. He's going to be in here on Friday. We'll ask him. Yeah, he's going to come here Friday? Yeah, he's going to come here Friday. I remember he asked me, are you going to go to 205? And I was like, man. Then I asked Cincinnati. I was like, hold on, Cincinnati. Yeah, I mean, what do you think about that? Is there any reason to go to 205? That's Tim. He was supposed to be like the main net knocking people out. He's got a piston for my hand. And he hit me with that at least four times. And I don't even remember him hitting me hard. I don't even remember it hurting.
I'm not going nowhere. I'm excited. I don't want to take those shots over and over again, but man, I'm excited to get back in there. I don't know who they're going to put me with next, but yeah, I'm super excited. It's so crazy, man, because every time Brandon's in the studio and I look across at you, I go, wow, we really have different jobs. We have very different jobs. Getting in that octagon and slinging like that against those humongous guys. I mean, it's crazy. By the way, have you guys seen previews of Randy Couture is going to be on one of these... The Unit. Is that what it is? The Unit? He's going to be on a TV show. He's acting now. That's crazy. What do you think of that? What do you think about him giving up the belt? It's a lot easier making money that way than getting pushed in the head for a living. Congratulations, Randy. I bet, man. Everybody keeps asking about Randy. It's like, what do you think? You know, it's like, man, Randy's... He's like one of the leaders of the sport. He don't need anybody's permission or blessing to do whatever he wants. Brandon, what do you think? Does it really matter what I think of what Randy does? He can do whatever he wants. He's one of my heroes. That's awesome. All right. Brandon Vera's in the studio. So if you have questions for Brandon, 570-1053 if you want to talk some UFC. We'll take your phone calls with Brandon Vera in studio next.

Unfortunately, it's on the website, Brandon. Oh, is it? Live? Oh, that's awesome. Have you ever seen Elvira, Mistress of the Night? Shut up! Stop saying that! It's scarier than that.
Whatever. It's a little bit spookier than that. The Charger girls thought it was good. Napoleon Dynamite thought it was weird. Full contemporary piece, Brandon, okay? I still have nightmares. I won. The Charger girls thought I was good, so shut it up. They were afraid of you. They were not afraid of me. This guy said, I call this piece Halloween. Put some kind of spell on him. It's 901. Whatever. More like a hex. Dozens of people in Boston have been arrested in post-World Series celebrations. Chargers win their third straight. They rolled over Houston 35-10. Brandon Vera is in the studio. He fought Tim Sylvia in the UFC, the last pay-per-view event in Cincinnati. He lost, but he broke his left hand first punch thrown in the fight, and he had to go through the entire fight with a broken hand. Did you ever throw it again?
I did a lot. I did like two or three more times hard. Gosh darn, man. I don't know. That's what I'm saying. You're lucky to have that thing being able to come back. You know what I mean? I mean, it is what it is. I mean, what was it? Rich Franklin, I think, fought five rounds with two broken hands. Well, I think he fought the last two rounds with two broken hands or something like that. It's what we do. I mean, I look back at it now. I was like, man, that's stupid. In the octagon, I was like, just keep going, just keep going. Give me another round. So, Brandon, try to walk me through what this is like as best you can. Because what I want to know is what your body sensation feels like and what is going through your mind and what you're feeling at the moment I'm about to describe. When you're in the octagon, you're looking across the octagon, you see Tim Sylvia, and the referee is right about to begin the fight.
What do you feel like at that moment? The closest I can describe it, like how it feels, like your body, how your body feels, is like the first time, I don't know how many girlfriends or boyfriends you've had since you were growing up. I remember almost every first kiss with everybody you've boyfriend or girlfriend with, especially in high school. Those meant a lot more, I guess. It feels like that every time. right when he's about to say go, you know how your body gets real tense? Right. You get real nervous. Adrenaline. Exactly. Excitement. Exactly. Nervous. But it's a good feeling. Right. Chubby. It's all that. Well, I don't know if that's really... Minus that. Yeah, minus that. Minus that. I was just giving you my... Right. What happened to me. So you have all that, all that, and I'm guessing that that lasts until the first...
Until the first touch, then it all turns to strategy, anger, get back feeling. I'm a get back fighter. If you hit me, I'm going to get you back with the same thing you hit me with. That's just from doing Muay Thai over and over again. Some fighters go into a flight mode. You get hit and you're like, oh, will you freeze up? Like what I did in the third round? Will you freeze? Sometimes that happens. What do you mean? What is that? Explain what that... phenomenon sensation reaction what is that what do you mean i don't know like i remember tim was hitting me in the third round he was hitting me good and i was like it i backed up and i said come on dan come on come on and instead of me swinging back like he just started swinging on me again i just covered up but i was like i was okay with it like it was like you know hurt me anyways but i didn't swing back and i'm usually the get back kid and i know i don't know what happened i don't know how to describe why i didn't swing back When you're in the middle of this, do you have any memory of what you're actually hearing? Bits and pieces. What do you hear? Once in a while, I'll hear my coach. I'll hear my coaches. Foot sweep, foot sweep, or I'll hear turn them to the cage, or I'll hear go, go, go, go, go. I'll hear that.
What does that mean? Go, go, go. Go. Like, man, he just punched you in the mouth and broke your lip open. Go get him back. Go, go, go, go. Do you ever hear the crowd? No. Yeah, actually, this time I did. When I took Tim down, I heard the crowd. When second round, I remember I back tripped him with a body lock. I took him down and I heard the crowd go nuts. Does that have an effect on you? Usually it does. Like, I should have just jumped up and started to beat on him, but I couldn't get my hand. Out of between his body and pin between the cage. Between his fat rolls. 5701053 is the phone number. P1 Viach is on the phone. Yep. Are you there? Yep. Go ahead. What did you want to ask? Brandon, I was wondering what your thoughts on a Fed are coming to the U.S. and fighting. And have you heard anything about the W1 fighting organization? I know it has some history, but it's relatively new in the fighting world. What is W1, Brandon?
I heard of M1. I haven't heard of W1. Oh, M1? Okay, that's why I'm probably confused. He saw it upside down on a piece of paper. That's what it was. M1, I've heard about that organization coming out. I heard they're coming out swinging hard. They're paying fighters a lot of money. There's rumors that Monty Cox is, I guess, the CEO, and I guess Mark Cuban is the money man behind the scenes. There's a lot of rumors to it, man, but for me, I found out in this business, wait and see. That's all you can really do is just wait and see. Here's a list of some heavyweight contenders that you could face. And the first name, I'm not so sure about because I'm not sure his status. Andre Orlovsky. That would be cool. I would love to fight Andre. I wouldn't. Why? No, he's scary. What? I would not like to. I'll let you have the list. Scott, you ever seen Andre Orlovsky? No. He's pretty scary, though. He wears this...
He wears this mouthpiece that has fangs. He's like the originator of the fang mouthpiece. He made it famous. Oh, there he is. There's Andre now. Andre, I'm convinced, may be part ape. He's got so much hair. He's got so much hair on his body. He's sexy now. He brought it back with Justin Tipolay. It's brutal, yeah. He's still got the chest stuff working, but the back hair is good. All he needs is a 10, dude. He'll probably start competing. Oh, there he is. There's Andre Arlovsky. Oh, there he goes. Yeah. If he came out to this in a three-piece suit, dude, I'd probably laugh. So I'll probably fall out in the octagon. What's up with Crow Cop coming out to Duran Duran Wild Boys? Have you seen that? I don't know. That's about the gayest thing I've ever seen in my life. That's crazy. Who's that firing up? The gay community. Yeah, they're getting all, you go, Crow Cop. Here comes Crow Cop. Seriously, this is his entrance music. That's not working for me. No. Sean's getting fired up, but that's about it. Really? What about Crow Cop? Sean's like, I'm minding my notes. What happened? What happened, bro? I'm just sitting here. What about Crow Cop? Could he be an opponent for you? Crow Cop could be an opponent for sure. Nice.
An opponent, yes, sir. What about Brock Lesnar? Yes, he could be an opponent. I hope he's not. I hope he is not your next opponent. I can't believe they signed Brock Lesnar. It is what it is. Brock Lesnar. He's an attraction. He's big. Check Congo. Check Congo could be an opponent. Check's a good friend. It sounds like the way people want you to vote. Check Congo. Dude, Check Congo to me is a Bond villain. Like, he is this gigantic French black dude who is gigantic. He's scary looking, bro. He's gigantic. He looks like a Bond villain. Really? Yeah. And he's got that name, too. He's got probably one of the best bodies in the UFC, and he eats the worst out of everybody. Like, he eats mayonnaise on everything. He eats mayonnaise on sushi, on his eggs. Oh, gross. Yo, on everything. That's gross. And we're just looking while he's eating. We're at camp. He's just eating. We're all just staring at him like. How do you have all those veins running through your body and built like that? Dude, you eat so bad. What did you eat today, Brandon? Today, I actually haven't eaten yet today. Really? Yeah, haven't eaten yet today. I know, man, when you're in train mode. Oh, yeah, it gets bad. Actually, this training session, I actually ate pretty good. I ate a lot of vegetables, ate a lot of healthy meats.
I actually started taking some supplements like L-glutamine, multivitamins. I actually started... Maybe that's why you lost. Maybe I need to go back to eating ice cream and pizza. No, actually, I'm with you on that one. What song do you come out to, Brandon? That song that he had made for him, right? I usually come out to the song that I had made for me. All right. But I came out to Jay-Z, You Don't Know. That's cool. Let's see if we have it. I came out to Jay-Z, You Don't Know This Time. It was... You Don't Know. Yeah. Why the change? Somebody asked me to change my song. And I said, okay, no problems. I want to know more about that. I want to know. Was the person's name Dana? Could be. Wow. Interesting. That is interesting. Well, listen, dude, you know, we are big fans of yours here on the show.
And, man, I can't wait to see you back in there and doing it again, man. And, oh, by the way, you wanted to say some stuff for the people that helped you out with the fire and you got evacuated and you wanted to thank some people, right? For sure, man. Welcome back. It's 9-17. Saw 4 was the number one movie this weekend, making over $32 million. I hate to say it, but Boston right now is the greatest sports city in America. They won the World Series, and the Patriots continued to roll, beating Washington yesterday 52-7. Oh, wow. Eddie saw Saw 4. Yes, I did. I mean... At this point, what's left? I mean, hasn't Jigsaw kind of gotten bored? Jigsaw's dead. Jigsaw's dead? Yes. How long has he been dead? He died in the last one. So what's Saw 4 about? It's about 90 minutes that I'll never get back again. Oh, no. Well, you know, I took my niece. She's 16. She wanted to go see it, so we went and saw it, which is... It was fine, whatever. It was cool. But now it's basically the spawn of Jigsaw and his best buddy are now... His BFF. Yeah, Buzzsaw and all the other... It's kind of goofy now with all that stuff, but whatever. Okay, a couple of things that we've got to get to eventually. One thing that I did want to talk about, and I mentioned it before we went to break, is that Sky has a list of...
The top most popular 07 pop culture Halloween costumes. Easy. Shawna, pregnant. No. Brittany and Kayfed. Got it. Let's see if they're on the couples list. No. What about just Brittany? No. Anna Nicole Smith. That's dumb. Yes, Anna Nicole Smith. 07. Now, are they ranked? No. It's just a list. Yeah, it's like I have pop culture people. entertainment things, and then couples are the three lists I have. So yeah, Alan and Nicole. In couples, it's not Britney and Kayfed? That's weird. Is it Brad and Angelina? No? Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes? Yes, they suggest she wears shackles. That's stupid. Because he has her chain. But how do you look like Tom Cruise? You've got to be as short as Rob. Rob could pull it off. Yeah, he could do it, but he's the only one. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, like Ashley couldn't do it. She's too tall. Maybe like little kids could do it. Oh, there you go. Victoria Beckham. Yeah, is she on there? David Beckham. Yes, she is. Yes, they are. Yeah, the two of them are on there. Yeah, that's a good one. Because he's very popular. He's the most sexy man alive right now, according to which magazine people, I believe, one of them. What's that voice, though? Yeah.
but he is sexy. Would that knock you down a bit? Would you give up, like, would you do it, you know, like, you give up having a cool voice to look like that? Yes. I would too. Yes. Sure. Now, would you give up, Eddie, your humor, your, and you don't get, like, soccer talent. You could just look like Beckham. No. You would not? No, because that's me. That's what makes me me. Yeah. You know? Plus, I'm already that gorgeous anyway. Accurate. You're a handsome man, Eddie. Thank you. Just saying. I appreciate that. Agreed. Thank you very much. You're looking good every day. Wow. Okay, that's uncomfortable. It's getting weird now. I'm married man. It's nice to look at every day. Oh, I'm saying. It makes it a pleasure to come to work, doesn't it? It does. It really helps the situation. Makes me love my job. Okay. You guys are finally being honest. I appreciate that. Not doing a bit. Who else? What about Nicole Richie and her finger? That's great. Is that on the list? Did you say Paris Hilton? Oh, Paris Hilton. Yeah, that's it. Then they suggest orange prison jumpsuit. I don't like when they suggest stuff. Stop suggesting. We can figure it out. We're funnier than ideas. Pop culture list. Do you want Frank?
Yeah, I got a dog, the bounty hunter, and Beth. His wife, Beth. No, that's... So 06. Thank you. Whatever. All right, sorry. We hate you, I guess. I don't know. Poor guy. He's like, I'm making a suggestion. Finally, somebody said it. Right? It needed to be said, Mike. What things did we talk about on this show? That's what we're trying to think about. I'm giving you hints. What things did we talk about in the year 2007? That maybe you were on TV. Michael Vick? Michael Vick! Nicely done, Ashley. Nicely done. Larry Craig in the bathroom stall. There it is, Eddie, Senator Larry Craig. Oh, wow. Oh, of course. What else we got this year? You're sure Shauna Pregnant's not on that list? No. Shauna's a furry. Shauna's a furry. Yeah, panda bears have got to be huge. Like sold out.
For the benefit of people that are new listening to the show. Let's not. Oh, yeah. They might not know. Well, Sean did state earlier that there's new listeners all the time. No, it's not. He did state that. I was mistaken. On the 28-hour show, we came up how Sean used to be a furry. Normal. Randy, do you know what a furry is? I don't. Oh, dude. Oh. Well, then we got to tell you. Come on, man. It's a fervor. A furry is a person that dresses like an animal. It's kind of like a, you know those mascot uniforms? It's kind of like that. Only perverted. It's not perverted, dude. They go to places where there's other people that way and they behave like the animal. And sometimes they mate. Oh, dude. That is 100% accurate. That's true. That's not... Dude, you guys always focus on something that makes up like 1% of what it's all about. He said sometimes. 1%. How dare you? 1%. Shut your panda mouth. Sean was... He used to be a panda and a beaver. Yeah. And or. And or. And slash or. When he's the panda, he goes by Sean Sean. That's right. All right.
What does he go by when he's the beaver? The beef. Theodore. Yeah. Sean, the beef. He goes by Jerry Mathers. Theodore in the more formal settings. Sean said it makes up 1% of that is a bold-faced lie. Try Googling it. Is that a fact? Let's Google it. We'll see if it makes up 1%. It's closer than what you're talking about. Not true. That is true. Bold-faced lie. P1 Josh. I'm done. Yeah, I'm done. Go ahead. How about Skye and Ramsey? Skye and Ramsey as a possible couples. Oh, come on. Popular couples costume. Already been done. That was so 0-6-6. It's very 0-7. 0-4-0-5-0-6. Skye and her white manservant Ramsey. Oh, yeah. It's costing me... Change a little bit. That's right. He's going to look like Ted Knight now. From Caddyshack? Yes, that's what Ramsey looks like. Ted Knight from Caddyshack. That's weird. Online for us, P1 Brosif. Hey, yeah, what's up, Brosif? Fist bump. Where'd he go? Oh, man. Mikey Show. Who's this? Mikey Show. Hello, P1 Postman. Hi, P1 Postman. Hey, I got a Halloween costume. Oscar De La Hoya in the picture.
That's great. That's a good one. What about Barry Bonds? A huge syringe coming out of your arm? Dude, Oscar De La Hoya in the stockings is hysterical. Why didn't we think of that? Alright, what else is on there? Okay, we have the drunk David Hasselhoff. That costume. Lame. Miss South Carolina. That's lame. Nobody knows what they look like, really. Unless you watch Pageant Place. Unless you have a sass that says Miss South Carolina on. Great show. Best show ever. Figure it out. I don't know. I think there's a million things it would be. Such as? Where is that? The eye rack? Where is my clip? It should be up there. Where? Light blue top right. I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have that. And I believe that our education, like such as South Africa and the Iraq, everywhere such as.
I believe that our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. and should help South Africa. I agree, for the record. I believe that she is correct. P1 Chris, what do you got? I got either Lindsay Lohan with a bloody nose or Don Imus from the Rutgers basketball team. That's all good. None of those are on the list. The only leftover celebrity on the list is Phil Spector. Who would want to be Phil Spector? I would love that. Like, just get any mask. Sean. Yeah, any wig. Yes, any wig will work. Awesome. P1GI. Yes. Who were you wondering if they're on the list? How about OJ Simpson? Yeah. On the list. No. He didn't make the list this year. Go with me as a Heisman Trophy winner. That's right. And murderer. Okay. And don't forget, robber. I love to rob people in Vegas. If there's two things I love, it's double murder and robbing in Vegas. Don't forget rushing for 2,000 yards for the Buffalo Bills. Been there, done that. Anyway, it's all on my MySpace. I like them all equally. MySpace.com backslash juice. Or you can try my other account.
MySpace.com backslash backslash backslash throat slash backslash start typing in slash so other things to make the list is George Takai on there no George Takai is not on the list I think I would make a wonderful addition to any costume. Rob just wanted to hear the voice. What would the costume look like, George Takai? Well, the costume would be the tops and tails would be different. The top would be my uniform from Star Trek. Oh, okay. That's cool. Yeah, that makes sense. And the bottom would be cut-off jeans and roller skates. Weird. Weird. But you wear it everywhere else. Not awesome. I think that makes sense. You wear that every day. I'm wearing it now. Yes, we know. Looking good. We're looking at you. I mean, true. As a fellow gay man. Oh, yeah, we know. As a fellow gay man. We know. I'm George DeCat. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Rob.
Some couples costumes to make the list. Do you guys want to guess couples? Me and William. Tom Brady. Who's William? My roommate. Why do you use finger quotes when you say roommate? I wanted you guys to know that we sleep together. I think we got that. You asked. No, you and William are not on the list. About me and John. Who's John? John. Okay, Craig. I got it. Tom Brady and Clay Aiken. Oh! No, not on the list. Really? They're a great couple. Who are we missing? Well, there are some fictional couples on here. Fictional? Like movie people? Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire and Spider-Man. Kirsten Dunst. Is Kirsten Dunst on the list? Dunst. What'd I say? Dunst. Shut up. There is one couple from a movie and two couples from TV. Me and a life-sized hot dog. Maybe I should just tell you. We don't need your input anymore. Not on the list? Maybe I should just tell you. Vanessa Hudgens. Kate and Sawyer from Lost.
Are they on there? No. How are you not guessing the one that you're supposed to guess? The Office? Pam and Jim? Really? Yeah, Pam and Jim and Dwight and Angela are both on the list. It's a very popular show. Is that it? And then real quick, stuff from Entertainment, the characters from Superbad, Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, Transformers, the Geico Cavemen, and then also Dee in a Box from SNL. That's funny. They say those are going to be huge this year. All right, some things that I needed to mention. There was a cop fired on a woman that was drunk in the gas lamp. She was in her car, and she was basically bumping into other cars, trying to get away. She was driving right towards this cop, so he fired at her. He didn't hit her. She was only like 22 years old? Yeah. Who is it? What's her name? Yeah. Let's see. She's identified as Melanie Yeager. 22. Melanie Schnapps. How strange is it that she was drunk and her name's Melanie Yeager? Well, allegedly drunk. Melanie Goldslugger. Yes. Seriously. Quite a coincidence. But like Mikey said, she was in the gas lamp. She was driving the wrong way on one-way street. She was turning where barricades are. I love Scott. She was squeezing in between cars and hitting the cars. So she was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, being her car.
Drunk and Driving, and 10 Counts of Hit and Run. Oh, man. That is not good. A lot of jail time. P1 Trivia is next. Somebody's going to win the opportunity to come and hang out in the studio on Friday with the Mikey Show for the entire show. You've got to be really, really good with Mikey Show Trivia. I'm a simple man! Respect me. Sean. I invite everyone with just a little bit of enthusiasm. Boston Rob. I hate the Yankees. You know this. And Ashley. The conversation, too. The Mikey Show's on. 105.3. Boys. Wild boys. Welcome back. It's 940. A spokesman for the governor says that he was just joking when he told GQ magazine that he does not consider marijuana a drug. Lakers coach Phil Jackson is questioning Kobe Bryant's commitment. He probably was joking. You know, he was probably real loose in the interview and having a good time. And then when you put it out of context, it sounds like he really believes that. I don't know. You never know. Maybe he does. Just saying, give the guy the benefit of the doubt.
I like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yeah. He's a Terminator. True. Should we do some trivia? Yeah. A guy and a girl. The winner is going to be able to come into the studio on Friday and hang out with the Mikey Show. It's pretty cool. When you win, you get a Mikey Show backstage pass that we had made up. They're pretty cool. People really love those too, man. It's cool. It's like a little souvenir. A little souvenir to remember coming and hanging out with the show. We play Mikey Show Trivia a lot like we play the Dumb Chick Challenge. We have a point value. One through three. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. First person of five points wins and gets to come into the studio. Our girl is P1 Thelma. How are you? What it is. What it is to you. Yes. And your opponent today is P1 Chris. Are you there, Chris?
Yeah, I'm here. How's it going, guys? Good, man. What up? Thelma, how old are you? 24. Chris, how old are you? 21. Thelma, how long have you been listening to the show? Two years. Chris, how about you? About two years. Sounds like you guys are... Even battle. Wow. It's going to be a very even... Going down, Chris. Oh, yeah. Uh-oh. I love it. Smack talk. I love it. Well, good luck to you. You're going to need it. There you go. Oh, man. Who started first last time, Sky? The guys did. The guys did. All right. That means Thelma goes first this time. Thelma, what do you want? A one, two, or three-point question? Give me a three, Mike. Give me a three, Mike. Oh, nice. She's a good boy for that. Yes. Good boy. Thelma, your question is, what is Ashley's real name? Oh, my God. I know this. That's why it's a three-point question. I know that. Sky's name is Ashley, but I don't know Ashley. That's true. Sky's name is Ashley. It's so weird. That's a fact. Come on, get it together. I don't know it. Sorry about that. That's right. He just blurted it. Chris blurted it out. It's Sarah. Barely. It's barely. Nobody calls her that anymore except her parents. Even her brothers and sisters are like, hi, Ashley. Okay, Chris.
Give me three. You want a three. Look at this guy. The question is, in the famous bear story, what does Boy Blunder claim was on his face that attracted the bear? Prince stories. The normal consensus is usually peanut butter. That is correct. This guy is awesome. That is correct. This guy's good. Yeah, he's real good. Thelma? Let me get a two. Come on, Thelma. I know you're good. I don't know how she's going to do this. Even if she gets this two right, this guy just did a three. All he needs next is a two. I'm just telling you, Thelma. She ain't playing your game. All right. Okay. Here is your two-point question, Thelma. All right. Come on, buddy. Who does the voice of Sammy Sosa? That would be Sean Sean. That is correct. Boom. That is not my name. Sean Sean does do the voice of Sammy Sosa. That's not my name. I love Sean Sean. What's in front of you? Shut the hell up. Oh, we did? Yeah. Did you hear us ask that last week, Thelma? What? Did you hear us ask that question last week? Oh, no. I just remember that he's wrong. We'll give it to her. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll give you that. I didn't know it. Let's see. Chris? We'll go for the win. Give me two. You're going to wrap it up with a two? Look at this guy. All right.
Your two-point question is, what are the names of the three OJs? There's OJ, there's over-the-top OJ, and then there's double over-the-top OJ. I will give you that. That is correct. Oh, this guy's a pro. Wow. You just won the game, Chris. Awesome. Congratulations. Even though someone was talking crap, I still would like her to come in. She could support about it. Oh, well, it's his decision. Well, if that's your decision, then okay. Thelma, you get to come in, too. Skye is so mad right now. I like Thelma. I like her a lot. I don't know if you're going to say that on Friday. I think she's cool. Skye is sensing Skye trouble. I think Skye senses that Thelma's going to be a jackhole. I'm sensing everybody trouble. She's going to be cool. Just the way when you were trying to recap the score, Mikey, she started yelling at you. She's great. She sounded like a part of the show. Well, yeah. I mean, if by every girl I hate, you mean you and Ashley? Absolutely. Don't worry, Sky. He just told you to get over yourself. I know, I know. Come on, Sky. It's not all about you. I want to have fun. I love her. You're in. You're in, Thelma.
I will remind Mikey and Eddie on Fridays. I guarantee you she won't come after us. Yeah, totally. Poppy, me and you are... Poppy. Good luck, everyone. I love her. That is my bro right there. You guys remember when I called in and won the Dumb Chick Challenge? I don't remember you winning, Dumb Chick. Oh, no. God, Sky hates you, Thumb. You guys can rematch her on Friday. I don't, but I don't, I'm dumb. I don't like playing right there. I love her. Hang on the line, Thelma. All right. Oh, man. She's awesome. Can you read the news? How dare you, Poppy? How dare you, Poppy? Do we have to take a break, Eddie, or are we good? You're good. Okay, good. I got stuff. Oh, my God. A lot of stuff we haven't got, too. Oh, I can tell Sky hated her immediately. Ashley's bad at her, too.
I'm not mad, I'm just nervous. Well, no, she's the atypical chick who wants to be in the boys club. She is. So we've met that girl before. That means that she'll take these low blows. Right, just to try and impress the boys. May I give you my thoughts on Thelma? Please. Thelma, to me, sounded just like somebody that knows the show so well. She was throwing out lines that were very... Every put-down, all the things that she said, they all sounded very Mikey show. Voice club Mikey show. No, not at all. They're very much in keeping with the tone of the show. The only reason you guys thought that she was boys club is because you didn't like her. No, not you at all. Not you at all. It is true because you, in fact, said... She said something to Mike. Yeah, and it didn't bother me. She was coming after me. She was snapping. She originally made a comment to me. What happened? Yeah, Sky, what happened? Yeah, what happened? Don't even worry about it. Wait until she comes in on Friday. She's going to be obedient, and they're going to hate her. The facts? The facts? You don't like it? I'm not even tripping. They hate the facts. They don't like the facts. Sounds like the ladies on the show are a little intimidated by Thelma's... Duh.
Thelma's quick wit. You're on to us, Mikey. Doesn't affect my life, Mike. I'm shaking in my boots over here. That affects your personal life. Definitely not. Definitely not. It will. Probably not. I'll be good. Sky has a list of famous people who look like they smell. Jennifer Lopez. What? No. Michelle Rodriguez. Boston Rob. Shakira. Courtney Love. No. Britney Spears. Bob Costas. She's a farting girl. That whole fart theory you have with Jenny McCarthy. That's true. Good call. Why are you irritated at me? Well, because she's known for being beautiful.

Yeah.
She reeks of it, actually. She does not. I do not. It's very pungent. It's not true. It stings the nose. You smell like onions. It's not true. P1 David. David, yeah. Who's your guess? Danny DeVito, man. It's a good one. Oh, Adrian Brody. Those are both good guesses. Really? Give us the... Roberto Benigni. Give us a letter of the first name. Pat Morita. Of which one? He was in Reservoir Dogs. Steve Buscemi. Yep. Steve Buscemi. Number eight. Okay, number seven. Jewel.
P.G., a guy. E.G. Paul Giamatti. Paul Giamatti. Good job, Randy. Randy, you're not playing. Paraquat Gelly. Number seven. Okay, number six. Pat Garrett. R.S., a guy. Number six. R.S. R.S., a guy. Richard Simmons. Yeah. Those little dolphin shirts are all dirty. Oh, they smell like... Okay, all right. Musty. I think you meant musky. I didn't. Oh. RS, a guy. Renee Schellweger. Robert... Robert Stevenson. Wait. It's B-Rob's real name. It is? I was... John Goodman. Ronald Shagan. Oh, RS. RS. I just thought of John Goodman and he smells. He does. Give us a hint. James Gandolfini. Rod Stewart. Rod Stewart. Gigolo. Oh, Richard Gere. RS.
What's wrong with you? That's right, Seth. Rob Schneider. Thank you, Charlie. He looks like he smells. Rob Schneider? He may stink a little. Okay, and let's just jump to number one. Because I don't know if you'll really get the other ones. Number one. He's so demeaning. Thanks for the confidence. Well, I mean, they're kind of obscure. Number one, A-R. Guy. A-Rod. Music, movies, sports. Hold on. Does she not know who it is? I thought I knew. She's Googling who it is. News. Andy Rooney? Yes, Andy Rooney. Number one. Famous people who look like they smell. That is such an underwhelming list to me. I agree. Who was on there that you were convinced we don't know? I'm going to say that this list of people she's about to read us is people she doesn't know, but we are fully aware. For sure. Pete Doherty.
Yes, we know who Pete Thority is. Who's that? I don't know. See? Who's Pete Thority? A British dude, Kate Moss's on and off, druggy boyfriend in a band. Number five, Cisco Adler. Oh, that's Misha Barton's boyfriend. No, that's the thong song guy. Yeah. And then number four was Dennis Franz from NYPD. Who knows who that is? Dennis Franz. He does smell. So, and that's the list. There it is. All right, what did I forget that's big? Then we got to get out of here. Oh, the Gap. Apparently, the Gap is really under fire right now. Because it looks like they have 10-year-olds in India making the clothes. That makes me feel so creepy. Did you see the video from the sweatshop? No. Oh, my God.
What's the deal, Scott? They're babies. Well, a British newspaper, you know, I guess got word of this and went undercover and did an investigation. Come on, Eddie, come on. It's got to make you feel bad. Where children were working 16-hour days. T-shirts are comfortable. And some weren't even paid because they were considered trainees. Ah, it's awful. Wow. Yeah, so of course, yeah. How does the Gap not know? Well, they're saying that this is a subcontractor. Well, how do they not know what's up with the subcontractors? It's impossible! Go ahead. Well, GAP hasn't immediately cut ties with the supplier that hired this subcontractor, but says that they are willing to end the relationship if the supplier doesn't clean up their act. I have not heard this, so we're about to all hear this together, and I'm going to tell you right away that the audio quality is supposed to be really poor. But apparently... in Toronto, where Paris Hilton is filming a movie right now, she saw a poster promoting her porno tape one night in Paris in the front of an adult bookstore. So they say, this is the story, okay, that Paris Hilton, dressed in a skeleton costume, enters the store and starts to yell at the store clerk, saying that she's very upset and...
This is apparently footage and audio of her doing it, caught on surveillance. But you can't... The audio's real bad because it's from surveillance. Cut one. Discount video on Yonge Street, just south of Wellesley, is probably the last place you would ever expect to find Hollywood starlet Paris Hilton. Except it appears that on Wednesday afternoon, Paris saw herself in the window and didn't like what she saw. She spotted her image promoting an adult video she took part in several years ago. You guys can't use my image. That is Hilton's voice on security videos. Sounds like her. Yeah, it does. Sounds like her to me. Why would she dress in a skeleton costume and be like, take down my poster? Right. And how did she move to Georgia all of a sudden? Yo, girl. Take down my poster. Take down my poster. Right now. I'm going to call my lawyer. I'm going to sue the F out of here. That doesn't make any sense. Yeah, what's the deal?
I don't know. I mean, because there is a videotape, but the videotape hasn't been released because I guess this adult bookstore in Toronto is trying to shop the videotape for the highest price. Yeah. So it hasn't actually been viewed yet. But they are releasing the audio. They are releasing the audio, and they describe Paris Hilton as wearing a disguise of a skeleton costume and a mask. But then again, it doesn't make any sense because if she really wanted to disguise her appearance, why would she be like, take down my poster. You can't have my picture. So who knows? It's weird. Yeah. This should be funny. This is a news anchor from G4 TV. This is the same television network that we were talking about last year at this time, actually. Last year, we had as a guest Mark Borchardt on our show. That's right. Star of the movie American Movie. which if you've never seen it, is one of the most hysterical documentaries in the history of documentaries. It's one of the greatest things ever. And this very obscure television network, G4, is actually on some people's cable and satellite TV. It's on DirecTV. It's on DirecTV. I watch it all the time. Oh my gosh. I do. How? I don't know how. I like it. They show a lot of Trek. This is an anchor on the G4 network.
That Sean watches. Along with the Hallmark Network and everything else he watches. But this is Olivia Munn. She's talking about MC Hammer. But apparently she's not that familiar with who he is. So she calls him. Well, you'll see. Cut to. Coming up tomorrow. Slayer. We will bring you our coverage of this week's Halo 2 National Major League Gaming Championships. Then it turns out Mick Hammer isn't dead. Or so he says. And Jeff. Did I say something wrong? Hey, Mick Hammer, don't hurt him. Did I say something wrong? Yeah. No, no, I mean, no, you're fine. Jeff Bridges kicks it old school with hand-drawn injuries. It's FC Hammer. Mick Hammer? Is that Ronald McDonald in parachute pants from the 80s? Do they have Ashley on their show? Ashley, can you hear me? Can you hear me? Did you hear that? Ashley. Well, Ashley does that from time to time, Sky. You know that.
Every once in a while, Ashley will mispronounce somebody's name. She reads it wrong, you know, like Wyclef Jean. See, that one even got Sky. Sky's struggling not to laugh at that one, but it's true. We all... You don't have to. You don't have to. Jeez. Oh, this should be interesting. The women of The View... Oh, no. Just stop. They ponder the question, should a woman expect to be hit if she hits a man? Wow. They ponder this. Cut 31. Should a woman expect to get hit back if she hits a man? If she hits her husband, let's say. I think it used to be. Well, if it's with like a major pot or something, yes. I think it used to be women could go around and you could slap a man and think, okay, he can't hit me back. But I think nowadays, if you hit a man, you better be expected to get slapped right back up. Why is it nowadays? Why now? I don't think it's right. I know, but why now? Is it used to be different? I think it used to be different. It used to be different. I think it used to be different where you could slap a, well, at least when I did it. See, I'm very gutted. Why, did you hit a guy? Yeah. And he did not hit you back. No. Sam. But that was way, that was when I was young. If he had totally decked you after you slapped him, would you not have had sort of ill feelings for him? Oh, absolutely. I'm older now. I would never hit a man. I'm shocked at what I'm hearing. Wow.
I'm like, I'm an utter shock. I can't believe that some of the most high-profile women in the country, and you guys, hey, listen, whether or not you think this Yak Fest is a bunch of BS or not, you've got to recognize that this show, The View, is very, very big. It's big. And these women are very high-profile for their opinions. And they're all basically saying, yeah, you know what? Hey, listen. Who was eerily silent, Elizabeth Hasselbeck. She's not there. Yeah, I thought she was gone. Well, no wonder they had that. If she was on that, she would have freaked. Yeah, she would have said it's never okay to, in my opinion, it's never okay to hit a woman. It's never okay to hit anybody. Well, tell that to Brandon Vera.
I will. Makes you think, doesn't it? Yeah, you can't hit a woman, you know. If she hits you, first of all, you get out of that relationship. She's a nut job. That's Sherry so-and-so who just said, I used to hit. Sherry Shepard. She's a nut. Women that hit men are nut balls. Not smart. Listen, if you're listening right now and you have ever hit a guy, you're nutty. You may not realize that you're nuts, but you're crazy. That's crazy. You're crazy. I dated one woman that hit. She was nuts. And I know of women that have hit, guys, in every case. Not a single solitary exception. Crazy. Nutty. Not okay upstairs. Not all their faculties. Off. Like needs counseling. Oh, yeah. I get what you're saying. What do you mean? So what I'm saying is you're a loony bin. But under no circumstances should the guy hit back. You can't hit a woman. They're just a little chick. They're chicks. But there are guys who do. Sky, what do you think?
Oh, yeah, yeah. You just said it's never okay for a human to hit a human. No, you're a crazy person either way. Whoever you're hitting, you're crazy if you're hitting people. Mm-hmm. Ashley, what do you think? What do you think? No, I agree with Sky. Can you hear me? Yeah. Ash, can you hear me? Yeah, just fine. What do you think? I agree with Sky. Never okay to hit a human being. Yeah. People shouldn't be hitting people. Unless you're in the UFC ring, and then I say, get after it. Wow. Mikey's show. Hello. Hello? Hey, Mikey. Yes. I wanted to say that, you know what, some women that hit their men, they're usually not the kind that can repress their anger and they never express any feelings. I'm sorry. The line that we're on right now, we have a special line that's directly from Mars. That's so cool. Oh, wow.
Now, dude, your cell phone is cutting out, but I really want to hear what you have to say, so if you get to a better line, please call us back. Copy that. Thank you. Yeah, he's trying to say that some women suppress their anger. Could be, but they're still crazy if they're hitting people. Jimmy Johnson has decided to donate the winnings from the Pep Boys 500 race. That's really cool, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Listen to this. Cut 41. I'm dedicating my race wins, which we talked about earlier this week. With everyone else matching it from Lowe's, Bruton Smith here with Sonic Automotive, the France family, a bunch of people. It'll be well over a million dollars going out to the American Red Cross. That's something we're very proud of. That's awesome. All the fire victims are going to be able to benefit from that win. That's great. Awesome! He's a local kid. Yeah, El Cajon resident Jimmy Johnson. That's huge. Got the Spanos' donating a million dollars. That's cool, man. That's good stuff.
This next story really bothers me. It really bothers me a lot. It's the FEMA story. We haven't really talked about it, but this FEMA story really bothers me a lot. FEMA, after the wildfires, staged a fake news conference where they had their own employees asking them questions. So stupid. Here's an example of one of the questions. Cut five. Are you happy with FEMA's response so far? I'm very happy with FEMA's response so far. That's wonderful. Oh, wow. John. Yeah. Bill from accounting. Yes. He had the Christmas party. Michael Chertoff is the Homeland Security Secretary, and he responded, this is a clip from CNN, to them having the employees do this, and this is what he said about it. Cut four. It was one of the dumbest and most inappropriate things I've seen since I've been in government, and I made it unambiguously clear.
in anglo-saxon prose that it's not to ever happen again and there will be appropriate disciplinary action taken against those people who exhibited what i regard as extraordinarily poor judgment you get it you went to college well said creepers creepers yeah so i guess real reporters were told that there were going there was going to be a press conference only 15 minutes before it actually happened, and they were given an 800 number that they could call in to listen to the press conference, but were not allowed to ask questions. Whoever's idea that was is so monumentally, like, the judgment is so off. Like, they're so dumb. That's great. Whoever thought that that was going to be okay. Oh, I couldn't believe it when I heard it. It's garbage! And it's kind of weird to me because, I mean, I haven't heard of FEMA, like, messing up big time or whatever, like we heard after Katrina. Like, I haven't heard any of that. So I don't know what they were so scared of, but that's brutal. It's so stupid. A-Rod opted out of his Yankees contract, so he's giving up $72 million in salary. But he thinks he'll get more somewhere else. He will. Skrill.
He probably will. Unbelievable. Yeah, the Yankees, though, he's not going to go back to the Yankees because Brian Cashman, their general manager, has been perfectly clear. If you opt out of this Yankee contract, we will not negotiate with you. So he's not going to be a Yankee. Really? Yeah. What's the deal with Phil Jackson of the Lakers questioning Kobe's commitment? Basically, Phil said, well, look at the guy. He's not into it. He doesn't want to be here. And Kobe got wind of it, and he said, that's not true. I disagree with him, but that's coming from the head coach. So, I don't know. The Patriots beat the Redskins, and the Colts beat Carolina. So, this sets up one of the biggest showdowns ever next week with the Colts facing the Patriots. And, I don't know about you, Eddie. I think that the Patriots will probably slaughter them. Well, man. What do you think? You know, every week I basically look at the spread. And every week it's like 16.5 points for the Patriots. And every week I'm like, no way. I'm not going to cover that every week. And every week they double it. And, you know, the Colts are no...
I mean, the Colts are the defending Super Bowl champions, and they're playing really, really well right now. They're not beating people by 40, but they're winning by a lot. I mean, yesterday they won like 31-7. So you look at it, and on paper you go, well, they're not going to slaughter them. But the way the Patriots are playing, I don't know. They're so good. It's just I don't know how they're going to stop the Patriots. I don't know how anybody can. Yeah. First of all, you put three guys on Randy Moss and he can still catch it. But you put three guys on Randy Moss and I'll throw it to Wes Welker. Or I'll throw it to Dante Stallworth. Or Ben Watson. Or Mike Vrabel. Or Kyle Brady. Or Lawrence Maroney. Or I'll run him in myself. Yeah. I mean, you just keep going. It's crazy. Is that because those different players that you mentioned are really great? Or Tom Brady is just... Really great at getting him the ball. Yes and yes. Both. That's scary. Yeah. Boston Rob's just sitting over there. Chris Collinsworth on NBC is saying that this is the best team he's ever seen. Period. Yeah, he might be right. We've seen some pretty good teams, but he might be right. They're real good. All right. I think we've hit all the big stuff. I don't think I've left anything off today. I feel like we've touched on everything I plan to touch on.
We talk about box office, Skye? We just said the number one movie. What else was up there? So number three in third place was 30 Days of Night with $6.7 million. Number two was the new Steve Carell movie, Dan in Real Life, with $12.1 million. Looks so boring. So grown up. And then number one was Saw 4 making $32.1 million. That's no joke. Dick Cheney's going hunting today in New York, so be careful. Watch out. It's up. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can call us at the beginning and end of every show. And you can talk about anything you want. Zeth, are you just getting this right now? Hang on a minute. You're just getting this right now? Yeah. Eddie's logged out, so he couldn't IM it to Eddie, but the Yankees have a new manager. Joe Girardi? Yeah. Joe Girardi is the new manager of the Yankees. Who's he, Joe Girardi? He's a former player and then was a manager for a season in Florida, won the Manager of the Year award, and got blown out. Really? Yeah, and so he took a year off, and he was weighing options and doing all this stuff. He was commentating on Fox, and basically he's the hottest candidate there is out there. It was kind of a done deal that he was going to be the manager of the Yankees. There you go. There it is. Mikey Show, hello.
Hey, Mike, it's you and Josh. What's up, Josh? I got a legitimate question for Sean Sean. Go ahead. I was wondering, you know, I heard somewhere that beaver breeding season is coming up soon, and I was wondering if he's feeling the beaver fever yet. That's a legitimate question. Sean Sean, how do you answer that? He's in beaver mode, so you don't call him Sean Sean. Sean? It's not my name. Eudor. Jerry Mathers. Bee! Sounds like somebody's got a case of the moon dates. Ha ha ha! Sounds like somebody wants their ass kicked. Whoa. It's never okay to hit anybody. Listen, maybe it's mating season and they get real touchy then. Oh, yeah. The male beaver gets all the testosterone. Yeah, forget it. They're very testy. I'm going to take that as we're not going to get an answer. Hey, Chompers. It's not my name. You suck. What happened? You're the world's worst person. No. Let's take Eddie a plaque. P1 Dave. We'll accept that plaque. Good morning, guys.
What's going on, Dave? Thank you, man. Thank you. Oh, I didn't hear about that. What is this? What are you talking about? Oh, there's people that order uniforms and whatnot. Really? Yeah, they were clearing houses and the sheriff's officer spotted them. Went to ask them where they're from, whatnot. Had DE agent IDs and everything, full nine. That is nuts. Yeah, so I just want to remind people, you know, just lock your houses if you have to evacuate. There's no need for it. You know, what do you do, man? How do you know when somebody's for real? I don't know. I'm not on the law enforcement side, so I can't really answer that. But I know they were clearing houses, and I guess they have policies and SOPs.
stating how they cover a house. Thank you. Listen, I think it's great for us to be aware of the problem, but I wish we had a solution. How do you figure it out if it is somebody... Well, yeah, because he said they had, like, fake badges and jackets and credentials and whatever. But, I mean, my first thought would be, why is a DEA agent involved in a fire? Why is a DEA agent going into my house because of a fire? yeah i don't know that i want but if there was if it was a fema jacket if it was a firefighter jacket if it was a police officer's jacket i'd be like go right ahead really well i mean during a fire when there's like emergency people everywhere i don't know i'm hearing these stories that are scaring me oh well now but i mean you know yesterday i would have let all those people in my house i wouldn't have thought twice about it but you haven't been see i've been hearing this fake people oh i hadn't heard about fake really no i heard about looters and stuff but not about yeah yeah yeah i had heard that there were people that were saying they were from insurance agencies and they're here to take a look and see what you know it's awful it's the worst thing ever but one thing you know what here's what we're gonna do i'm gonna have eddie get on this where we're gonna figure out how we'll get somebody on the air this week that can help us
No, the fakes from the real people. That's a great idea. Because we don't want people taken advantage of, and it is out there. It's unfortunate and it's disgusting and ugly, but it is happening, so I'd like to educate people on it. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, I have a legitimate question for Ashley. Yes, go ahead, please. Ashley, if your romantic love song is Lloyd, get it, shawty. Like, what are you doing Friday? Ashley, the question is, what are you doing Friday? Um... Staying at home, watching TV like I normally do. Sounds like a yes. Lovely and talented Missy is up next today on the show. She's got double shots on the nooner. All your favorite stuff, two times. Don't forget the DNA results for Rob and Is Rob a Father? are Thursday. We'll see you again tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show is out late. Love your mouth.
