It's November 6th. It's a Tuesday. Welcome to the show. It's Mikey's show, and it's 6.03. We're already seeing the effects of the Hollywood writer's strike with Letterman and Leno airing reruns last night. Future Hall of Famer Greg Maddox will return to the Padres next season, agreeing on a one-year deal. We got a monster show today. William Shatner will be on the show today. Hey! Oh, yes! Yeah, we know Sean is very excited about that. Yes! Shawnee, oh boy. Big Star Trek fan. Holy cow. When we told him yesterday that Shatner was going to be on the show, he said it took the breath out of him. It took my breath away. Wow. That's so funny. It's like falling in love. That's cute. Yeah, when Shatner comes on the air, I will play for you a voicemail that Sean left me last night. Oh. Oh, no. It's two minutes in length. Oh, no. Wow, that's long. It's two minutes long.
I'm not embarrassed. Oh. Oh, boy. Let's wait. You know what? I want to ask you that question right after I play the voicemail. I'm going to ask you. I will not be embarrassed. Okay. We'll just see about that. Seven people on the Mikey Show. Although Boston Rob is in Martha's Vineyard right now. Martha's Vineyard. Martha's Vineyard. Where, you know, I'm having wine and a salad. Drink a shot in there, Mikey. Yeah. Well, yes, do you have a wine list, my good sir? I'll take one of those finger sandwiches. Thank you. Yes, who is Kendall Jackson? I'll have one of him. And make it a double. So my name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 37 years of age. I am Hispanic. Oh, sorry. Mexican.
Yeah, Mexican. Me being Mexican, easily one of Ashley's favorite jokes. She loves her Mikey is Mexican stuff. Yeah, sometimes he'll call me. Your Mexican-ness is what defines you. Right, and he'll call me and then I'll answer it and I'll just go, Hello, Mexican. That is true. And that'll be how I answer the phone. That's really weird. That's really weird. Throws them off every time. When she says it throws me off every time. Yeah. What she means is I just kind of stare at my phone with my mouth open. That is awkward. And then I go, oh, hey, Ash. What is she, Dog the Bounty Hunter now? Oh, no, he didn't. That's right. How dare you. She's Dog the Bounty Hunter. How dare you. Hard to hear that, dare you through that hood. Go. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 34 years old. And, yeah, he's giving the thumbs up to everybody. It's like he's on a float. Hi, Eddie. I think I may have broke a record in one of my fantasy football leagues. Really? Yeah. How? With what? It's a scoring league. And I had Jamal Lewis, who had four touchdowns. Santonio Holmes, who caught two touchdowns. Vince Young ran one in. Tony Gonzalez, I mean, I had an enormous amount of points. And I'm really happy today. Oh, that's cool. Yeah. That's pretty awesome. High five.
High five. High five. Very nice. I think Sean's gotten bored of the Borat stuff. Yeah, he's over it. It's like Austin Powers or any of those things that we all did for so long. Everybody does Borat. I still want it. You still do? I still want very nice. I still want high five. I mean, listen. I agree with you about any Mike Myers stuff. That's so... Out of my realm of possibility. But very nice still makes me laugh. Skye is our news girl. She's 30. She's got curly hair. Wow. It's naturally curly. So when she gets out of the shower, it's all frizzy, she says. And how do you tame that sucker? Lots of leave-in conditioner, lots of mousse, and lots of hairspray. Wow. Very nice. Does it attract a lot of bugs? Bugs? Yeah, like with the conditioner and all the product and stuff in there.
Like little gnats? No. Fair enough. It's a question. Okay. Fair question, fair answer. Fair enough. Okay. Accept your answer. This guy does news for us, by the way. Very nice. Oh, there it is. It's not a question out loud. Now he's going to do it all the time. Yeah, I mean, that's not really what I was saying. I wasn't like, hey. Good job, Sean. I hope that Sean sort of... Overdoes it with the very nice. I didn't mean that. No, you meant when it makes sense. When it makes sense. It makes sense. Or high five or whatever, you know. Okay, well, all right. Oh, God. Wow. Poor guy. I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job. I just want to. Right. You never do. Oh, no. I'm just trying to get out there, you know, kind of like, hey, I miss it. That's all. You know, I don't want you to overuse it. You know, that's not what I was trying to say. They are great. Oh, wow. Yeah. It's going to be one of these days, huh? Yes. Ashley is our assistant producer. She's 24 years old. She has a wonderful physique. Thank you. Delicious. Borat. Okay, I get it. I said I missed the Borat sound effects and he's teaching me a lesson. Hey, I get it loud and clear, but I really like the Borat stuff.
And I thought that sounded funny right now when he played it about Ashley and her physique. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Listen, over the past few months, I think that people have noticed that Ashley has sort of fought back in terms of people making fun of her, getting on her, and kind of getting after her. I do think it's an extreme step to bring your father to work. Wait, what? Outrageous. Her dad is sitting behind her. Yeah. Her dad has a look that reminds me of Brett Favre. Oh, hand up. Exactly what Zeth was saying this morning. Yeah, her dad. Well, well, well. Yeah. Watch out. Don't mind if I do. Okay, Eddie. Eddie's in the house tonight. Eddie has said that if he had to be on a gay island, it would be with Brett Favre. Oh, wow. He thinks he's hot. Hope that's not weird for you. Sir.
You want some man meat? Ask your dad if he's ever got that, the Brett Favre thing. No way. He says he has. I've never heard of him. He does. He looks like Brett Favre. That's crazy. Wow. Let's see. Well, Boston Rob's not here. No, I'm at a very quaint boutique right now looking at antiques, Mike. Is he really at Martha's Vineyard? Martha's Vineyard. Yes, he is. He really is at Martha's Vineyard. That's a trip. Yeah, his dad passed away, and one of the things that Rob was able to get when his dad passed away was this timeshare in Martha's Vineyard. Wow. There's no other word for it. He was so cute before he left, saying to me, when he's serious, that's when he's his most adorable. And he says to me, he goes,
Honestly, Mike, with those big old puppy dog eyes. Honestly, Mike, if you and your wife ever want to do the timeshare the first week in November, just let me know. How can you not love this kid? So cute. He's just such a sweet-hearted guy. So he's with his girlfriend in Martha's Vineyard. Zeth is the youngest person on the Mikey Show. Yay! He is 22 years of age. And I call him the Jason Newstead of the show. Yeah. Because when Jason Newstead first jumped at Eddie, Eddie does the fist leaning on the fist on the cheek and goes, aww. Tough love it is. Tough love. Well, the reason I call him the Jason Newstead is what just happened. For those of you that don't know, Jason Newstead, he replaced Cliff, what's his name? Cliff Clavin. No, no. He replaced Cliff Clavin here. The big red dog. He replaced Cliff Burton. Burton? What is it? Well said. In Metallica as the new bass player. And we know from seeing the movie Some Kind of Monster, the documentary on Metallica, that Jason Newstead was hazed by those guys in Metallica.
And it never ended until the day he quit. In fact, it was part of the reason he quit. He never really gained their respect. You know, Boston Rob has kind of gone through this transformation. When he was first on the show, all we did was just beat him up. And then we realized he was really funny. I think we gained a little respect for him. And now he's kind of somewhere in the middle. He still gets the business. But he's also... kind of graduated to full-fledged member of the show. Zeth is definitely still a freshman. And what I said to Ashley the other day is, this was off the air, and I go, Ashley, do you think that Zeth ever anticipated that being a member of the Mikey show would involve such abuse? And she laughed and said, no, I do not. I said, I think that... I go, you know how when you first go to high school and you hear rumors that they take the freshmen and they stick them in the trash can? I go, it's worse than that, but he had no idea and had never heard the rumors. He went to high school expecting it to be like, wow, I'm in high school now. This is going to be great. And had no idea that what happens in high school is they put you in the trash can.
And he comes home crying to his mom. So now he's like kind of going through that. It's garbage. It's garbage. That's right. Very nice. Wait. So Zeth, how are you living, kid? Good. You doing all right? Yeah. Just checking in with you. I want to make sure you're not getting beat up too much. You know what I mean? I can take it. It's fine. I can take it. It's fine. Bullshit. That's our boy, Zeth. 570-1053 is the phone number. You can call us at the beginning and end of every show. Oh, did somebody just stop the record? What the hell was that? Literally just brought the show to a screeching halt. Wow. You got to spin some discs? Sean just sent me an IM that I've never got from Sean before. I've never. Oh, no.
What does it say? I've never... I mean, how long have we been working with Sean? About five, six years? Six years. It's the first time I've ever received an instant message from him of this nature. What does it say? It says, can we please play one of my Shatner clips? Come on! He's never... Come on! He's requested his own clip? He's never done that. That is hysterical. Sean, this isn't the all-request hour. He's really a fan of William Shatner, and Eddie scheduled him to be on the show today, Shatner. Come on, dude. Were you all giddy last night? You could barely sleep, or what? I woke up three times last night. You're so cute. I had trouble sleeping, I did. I won't lie. That is awesome. From the TV show Star Trek Cut 43. Oh, that's a great one. We've got to risk implosion. It's our only chance. It's never been done. Don't tell me that again, science officer. It's a theory. It's possible. We may go up into the biggest ball of fire since the last sun on these parts exploded, but we've got to take that one in 10,000 chance. Reach to captain. Engineer asked, did you find? Yes, I thought you understand. That can't be real. You fabricated that. That can't be real. Look at Sean. He's all red in the face because he is so excited right now. Look at him.
Oh, my God. Did he drink a Red Bull? Oh, my God. Oh, so awesome. Dang, that guy's good. From the film Wrath of Khan. Yes! Khan, you've got Genesis, but you don't have me. You are going to kill me, Khan. You're going to have to come down here. You're going to have to come down here. There's so much overacting in that scene. The best, dude. It is the best. All you needed was Pacino in there. Wow. He's Spock. Yeah, exactly. Pacino is Spock. That's a new Craig Gas Theater thing. Next time he comes, we'll have Pacino be Spock. That's funny. So anyway, yeah, Sean is very excited about William Shatner coming on the show today. So get ready for that. In fact, it may be worth a blast to listeners to be tuning in in the 7 o'clock hour when Sean meets his idol.
William Shatner. Be like me having... I have yet to have Paul Thomas Anderson on this radio program. And he may never do it because he may just be the type that he doesn't like to do radio interviews. And the truth is that I would want that more than anything and then I wouldn't sleep either. I don't know what I would say to Paul Thomas Anderson. I like your movies. Thank you. See you later. P1 Paparazzi is on the line. Why the face? Eddie immediately... As soon as I said the word paparazzi, Eddie's face drops. He puts his head back. Immediately, a look of doom and gloom. P1 paparazzi, a Hall of Famer. A P1 Hall of Famer. Paparazzi, tell everybody what a P1 is. P1 is somebody who turns down the radio, doesn't cuss, gets straight to the point. They're an exclusive listener of the Mikey Show. They listen every morning. They tell all their friends about it and get all their friends to listen. Steals IMs from the Mikey Show. Wow. Eddie. That is not a P1 does not do that. A P1 does not do that. I thought they did, though. That's not part of the rap. I thought they did. That's it. When a P1 is a guest in the Mikey Show studio and is sitting behind someone's computer, a P1 does not memorize their instant message names. And then IM them later. Yes, that is not. But Paparazzi is a friend of the show. And Paparazzi, what were you calling about?
After hearing Sean yelling at his HOA for $7, what if he can help me go after mine for over $100? It sounds like he's an advocate for people in their HOAs, like he's a lobbyist or an HOA advocate for people. For those of you that didn't hear, Sean went to an HOA meeting on Friday night and was asked to leave because he became indignant and he... Put his foot down and he said, I will not stand for this and make me leave. So that's a good suggestion, paparazzi. Sean, would you consider being a HOA advocate in your area? You know, for other people in the San Jose area that kind of want to be represented, but they don't have the rocks to get up and say the things that you're willing to say. No, I would not. You will not do that? No, because I don't care. You do not care about their HOA? No. I understand. But what if they were to pay you a fee to care? Oh, like $7. Well, that's a lot of money to Sean. It could cover the death. There were extenuating circumstances. It was more than just the money. The reason he was so upset was because he found out his HOA was going to raise the HOA fee by $7. $7? $7? Hey, listen, Sean. If I lived in the Bay Area near you, I would pay you $7.
Double that. $14? I would pay you $14 to represent. And we know that's got to be a lot of money to you. That's not the only problem with the budget. Look what you were willing to do over $7. I'll double it. Dang. What if he wore a turban? Yeah, what about that? There was a guy there with him wearing a turban. Sean's tag team partner. It was like they were a professional wrestling team. We did jump on the dude. Yeah, you did. The Urban Turban. That's what I would call it. Oh, I like it. Because of the urban nature of the story. Suburbia fighting the man. The Suburban Turban. Oh, there it is. Huge. Huge. The other guy is the Suburban Turban. I like it. Love it. Eddie, what could Sean be? I don't know. I don't think we need to get into this. Sean could be... Suburban Turban. The Fighting Panda? Yeah, the Fighting Panda. The Fighting Panda. Wow. The Domestic Panda. The...
The HOA Panda. Can we move on? The Pandamanda. Yeah, because he demands things for you. Panda Demanda. Do you need a man to demand things from your HOA? Call the Demanda Panda. And demand changes in your HOA. Call us. Call the Suburban Turban. And the Demanda Panda. The Demanda Panda. You know what I mean? I like it. The commercial. I can see it. The Demanda Panda and the Suburban. Okay. P1 Josh. Sean went from so elated. Yeah. You ruined him. I know. From so elated to kind of just checking out. Elated to deflated. Elated to deflated. What happened? I got a legitimate question for Sean. Go ahead. Oh, finally. I was wondering, how many more dams is he going to have to build a month in order to pay for that $7 increase in his HOA? Wow. Sean, your response, please. I have no response. Sean pushed his microphone away.
Sean pushed his microphone away. Thank you, Josh. P1 Nerd is on the line. Greetings. Just letting you guys know that P1 Spaceboy has done it again and made a new soundboard of Sky. Really? Oh, wow. What kind of stuff are we talking here? Yeah, listen. Who said Ask Mudo? Oh, no. Uh-oh. Now, can you find this new soundboard at www.p, the number one? P1Site.com? Oh, yeah. P1Site.com? Yep. Give me, just rattle off a few from the soundboard. Oh, I love it. Fantastic. Great, great. P1Nerd, whenever you call in, I
I have one request, and that is that the first words out of your mouth before you say anything is greetings. Greetings should always be the first thing you say. So you say greetings, and then we'll respond, greetings, nerd. Thank you, nerd. No problem. We'll see you. P1 Brian, what's up? I just had a question for Sean about William Shatner. Go ahead. Just wondered if he enjoyed his role in Dodgeball. It's a good question. We should ask him. No, did you enjoy it? Oh, did I enjoy it? Well, yeah. I mean, he was really good in it. Yeah, he was the he was the officiator or not the officiator, the head of the Dodgeball Association in Dodgeball. I don't even remember that. Yeah, he was really good. He was very funny. Thank you. Thank you for the call. Very good. P1 Detail would like to ask Sky about the TV show Lost. Lost.
Dude, I just finished the second season, and am I hooked or what? Really? Second season's where they lost me. Loved the first season and the second season. Is the second season when they had the Dharma initiative on the shark? The logo on the shark? I think that was the first season. Yeah, towards the end of the first season. Towards the end of the first season? Second season is when his eyeball opens up, and he's in the underground bunker, and he's like, that's when, what's the guy's name? Ben. There's Ben, and then Locke blows up the boat. No, who's the guy that lived in the underground lair? It starts with a D. Oh, Desmond. Desmond. Yeah, the second season was all about the hatch. Yeah. And it was kind of lame, but the third season was great. That's what my wife says, too. Is that already out on DVD? Yes. Sweet. And then ask, I mean, and Sky, have you tried typing in, or has anybody typed in all those numbers on Google? The 2, the 4, the 8, 16. No? Why? What happens? If you type those numbers in, they're coordinates to an island in between Australia and America. Really? Yeah. Like, I am so cracked out with Lost right now. Yeah, man. Lost is great. Yeah, it's like heroin. Well, we have to wait until February until it comes back. And I'm not joking. Well, say what? Google the coordinates. It'll trip you out. You got it. Thanks, Detail. All right. Take care. See ya.
I've missed the entire third season. I watched the first and second, but I was upset with the show for stringing us along and it being on so late. Now that I have the East Coast feeds, I might try again. Because my wife said that... The last episode that they showed may be her favorite episode ever. It was crazy. It got back to being lost. There was some creepy stuff. There's this whole thing with Locke going in with Ben into this weird cabin in the woods and this freaky ghost guy. It was one of the scarier moments on TV I've ever seen. It was crazy. It was really good last year. I'm in. I really liked it the first season. You've got to get the last season and catch up before February. And it'll be better for you, especially when they're slow seasons. It's better to watch it on DVD because instead of being disappointed with an episode and have to wait a week, you can just go to the next episode. A little more instant gratification that way. For sure. Let's see. Sports news. I want to talk just a second about the sports stuff because there's a lot of stuff going on out there. Boston Rob's not here to hear it.
The Red Sox re-signed Curt Schilling for another year. No, they're close to signing him. Oh. For a year. So he's not a done deal? Not a done deal yet. Maybe the Padres will sneak in there at the last hour. Why would we need to do that, Mike? We re-signed Greg Maddox. We're good. All right. How much money did they give him? $10 million. Dude, come on. We had 14 wins last year. That was bad. Are they trying to be mediocre? What's the problem? You don't like signing a guy in his 23rd season for one year, $10 million? It's a bad move? That's a whole famer. That's really disappointing. Join the P1 text army. Text Mikey, M-I-K-E-Y, to 35253. 35253. 35253. Yeah, and then you can be in the text army. We'll text you about cool stuff. We don't...
We don't mess around with the text thing. I'm in it. Yeah, I'm in it. We don't send you, like, dumb stuff. We only send you stuff that's really cool. Right. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, it's P1 Buffalo Girl, and I had a question for Sean. Go ahead. Yeah, I wanted to know if you heard anything about a new Star Trek movie that's coming out, and if William Shatner's, like, in any way involved. Come on. This is old news. Oh, wow. Sean, don't get... She's asking a question. Yes, there's a new Trek movie coming out. It's all about Kirk and Spock before the Enterprise. They've already named a few cast members. Playing Spock will be the dude... She already knew. She already knew. Why did she ask? She already knew. You should also know that Shatner isn't involved. How about that? Don't be angry, Sean. He's not involved. Let me throw him some bamboo. I thank you for the call, Edward. Not. Leonard Nimoy is. William Shatner is not, okay? Who's Leonard Nimoy? I've never even heard of him. I'm so sorry. You know what? When I said it, it clicked. Oh, he meant Nimoy.
Duh boy. I said Nimoy. This is going to be bad. Uh-oh. You guys, I woke up last night. First time in 37 years of life. I woke up last night screaming. Whoa. Really? I've never done that in 37 years. Screaming like how? Screaming. Or like, ah. That's what I'm saying. Hey. Okay. I woke up in the middle of the night. That's a trip. What the hell? Girl. Do you remember the dream? All I remember is I couldn't move and I was trying to scream and I couldn't and then all of a sudden it came out and I woke up like that. Wow. That's freaky. Have you guys ever done that? I used to when I was a kid and it was very similar. It was always dreams where I was being chased by bad guys but I couldn't run. I was never making progress and so since I couldn't physically move and make progress I was trying to verbally
get someone's attention for help and i and my parents would come in and be like you're screaming wake up oh i don't but my wife has night terrors really oh yeah rebecca's had them too awful it's the worst does she still have them She hasn't in a very long time, but the first time she did it, I thought somebody was in the room attacking her. It was awful. She screams and jumps up in bed and freaks out. It's awful. I've never done it except for last night. It was the first time. It was real weird. What's Rock Jukebox on the show today? Dude's calling in and singing. We'll do that. How about another Shatner clip? Oh, my. Sean. He's getting out of control. Well, Sean, why don't we save a little of them for, you know, we'll save them for later. Yeah, we want to string the listeners along. Yeah, exactly. We want them to, you know, keep listening and, like, we got to dangle a carrot out there for them, so we'll say, hey, guys, another Shatner clip. It's a good idea. Should I say, when William Shatner's on the line, should I say, hello, Bill? Oh, yes.
No, no. Hey, please. I'm begging you. I didn't even think of that. That's awesome. It's wonderful to have you on the phone. How have you been? Sean has strong feelings about this. I left you a voicemail last week. Did you get it? Sean does not like this. He's so upset. Yes, you have to. You have to. I called you from the Jacuzzi Club. Remember last time we did this? John Cusack. Didn't go so well. Yeah, that's right. We did it to John Cusack. Yeah, but we're not going to try to fool him. It's just funny. It's all good. We'll do the voice, see what he thinks of it. Just for funsies. Cell phone mishaps today. So if you've ever accidentally called somebody because your phone called them and they heard stuff or that's happened to you, we do this thing called cell phone mishaps. So we'll do that. Also, Slash is on the show today. Wow.
uh, from Velvet Revolver, Guns N' Roses, Slash, he's got a new book out, and so, we're gonna talk to Slash, I, I have a great experience with Slash in the studios, back when we were Rock 102, and I did Nights, uh, and Slash was in the studio, and I'd never used a delay, ever, but the station, my program director, Greg Stevens, he said, uh, hey Mike, I understand Slash is coming, into the studio today, so. We did, and he got past it. Oh, how did that happen? Well, because he cussed, and I said, oh, you know, and I hit the button, and I said, Slash can't cuss. He put his hand over his mouth, and then he cussed again. Oh, rockstar. Yeah, so he, you know, you gotta have that delay running with Slash, but Slash more than anybody.
Like it's a known thing. Yeah. Well, the Guns N' Roses crew in general. Yeah. Slash has a reputation in radio. Oh, he does? Yeah. There's a whole thing with Slash of like, it's really, it's real touchy because the guy can't help it. Oh. I mean, those other guys can't either, but Slash, he's like in a whole league of his own. Oh, no. So anyway, Slash will be on the show. We will play P1 Trivia today so somebody can win the opportunity to come in to the studio. And when we come back, The San Diego City Council reached a decision on the ban on alcohol at all city beaches. And I will tell you what they decided when we come back. Larry the Cable Guy in the stand-up spotlight. The Mikey Show stand-up spotlight 105.3. I get pulled over and the policeman says, you been drinking? I'm like, no, why is there a fat girl in my back seat? Oh, Lord. My God, there's two of them. I guess I would have had them.
Oh, Lord. Don't you hate it when you get so daggum drunk, you look in your pocket the next thing, and there's some girl's number in there with a name, and you don't know nothing about it? So you call her up, and you get this. Hello? Yeah, Debbie there? This is Debbie. I ain't drinking no more. That's ridiculous, right? Attention. The Mikey Show continues. on the rock. Jared, the Galleria of Jewelry, is proud to present the Peerless Diamond, the ideal, ideal cut diamond.
What is the most beautiful diamond? Of course, that's largely a matter of personal preference, but since it's true that the precision of the cut brings out the beauty of the diamond, you owe it to yourself to see the Peerless Diamond, available only at Jared. Peerless Diamonds are certified by two independent laboratories, one that measures the quality of the diamond itself and how precisely it's cut, while the other shows that your Peerless Diamond achieves the highest ratings possible when it comes to the display of light. This second report measures what your eyes will have already told you, that the peerless, whether round or princess cut, is one beautiful diamond. The peerless diamond, the ideal, ideal cut diamond, can only be seen at Jared, the Galleria of Jewelry. It can only be Jared. Jared, the Galleria of Jewelry. Now open near Mission Valley Mall off Interstate 8 on Mission Center Road. Well, the ride's getting a little bit slower on our freeways, and we have some fog again this morning, and actually some light drizzle in some areas, so you may have to throw on your windshield wipers for a swipe or two. But right now, we've got no major problems, just a lot of brake lights here in the South, 15 especially. This is getting pretty tough out of Escondido off to 78, down in the Rancho Bernardo through the construction zone there. The coaster ride, South Pond 5, is seeing some brake lights as well out of La Costa. Then a little bit more out of Encinitas down towards Lomas Adepi Drive in Salana Beach.
West 52 starting to back up the hill at a Santee to the top of the summit. West 8, it's not too bad. It's looking good into the valley. The 94 King Freeway also just a minor delay for the 805 now. Coming out of the South Bay, though, you've got both the 5 and the 805 northbound starting to bunch up out of Chula Vista up toward that South Bay Freeway. 805 continues to slow in through National City, North Park. Now again, coming out of Kearney makes up with 52. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock, 105.3. Yeah, cricket. What up? It's great because they do not charge you that first month of service, and that's a bonus, man. That's a bonus for everybody that does it. So many of our P1s have switched to cricket service. It's pretty cool to talk to them and find out that they're doing the cricket thing. It's a lot easier for you. You don't have to be tied into a contract or anything, and that's good news. Yep. Yeah, they got a lot of different plans, but the one I like the best is their Cricut Choice plan where you get a true unlimited, unlimited U.S. long distance, unlimited texting, picture messaging. It's an awesome plan. It's very cool. And the other cool thing about them is that they have great quality, cool phones. Oh, yeah. So all the hip stuff that you see everybody carrying around, you can get it. Try Cricut. Go to any of their stores located everywhere or try them on their website. It is mycricut.com slash San Diego.
The Mikey Show continues, featuring Mikey. If everybody's going one way, a lot of times I like to go the other. Eddie. I may, at times, suffer from delusions of grandchildren. I've never been to a mouth out. Floss a minimum of three times a day. Boston Rob. If Mariah Carey told me to shave my dreaded seatbelt. And Ashley. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Turn the microphones on and talk. Yeah, it works better that way. This is City Councilman Kevin Faulconer. Cut 46. This issue has really become a public safety issue. And it's not one that I arrived at lightly. This is a public safety issue not only for people that are in my district, but for all San Diegans. 6.42 a.m., and I'm going to tell you right now that the City Council said no news at the beat. Oh. And that's that. You're kidding me. Let me tell you something. To me, this is national news.
Because San Diego is, you think of San Diego, you think the beaches, you think the fun, you think the holidays, you think the young people, the bikinis, the bathing suits, the parties. The one thing that you would never think is that that city would say absolutely no to drinking on the beach. That's unbelievable. And it also includes the parks that are in a beach area. You know how certain areas have parks right on the water. The bay? What about the bay? That's crazy. Yep, they say beaches and nearby parks. Oh, that's bad. So if it's a park by the water, it counts too. It's going to be real interesting to see how they define nearby. Yeah. That word. And Ash, in answer to your question forever, it's so stupid and weird. What they're saying is, we're going to try this out for a year. Is that really what they're saying? No. I swear to you. No. That's crazy. Why is that stupid?
It's stupid because if you're going to do it, do it. Don't insult our intelligence. What are they going to do in a year and go, you know what? This year we did it and it really didn't work out for us. We need booze back. It's like a punishment. Like we're going to ban you for a year. If you're better, then, you know, we'll give it back. See, I don't see it that way. Are they saying they're going to give? I mean, if that's what they mean by we're going to do it for it. Sky said. You told me that they said we're going to do it for a year and see how it works. Right. So they're going to do it for a year. This just isn't working, guys. We really need alcohol back. Like, say they do it for a year and crime statistics are no better than they were prior, then obviously the correlation isn't there. But if crime makes a dramatic drop, then yeah, maybe it did help and maybe they should keep the ban. I don't think that's smart at all. All they're trying to do is soften the blow. I'm saying, you know, it's for a year only. That's a good point. I think they are too, but I don't, to me, first of all, I mean, drink. You know, I don't drink, but it still sounds like, it's mean. Like, don't even say, just, you know what? Just get rid of it. Yeah. This year thing, I can't imagine a situation, even like, Sky, even though you say, like, imagine that the statistics don't go anywhere. Right. Or whatever. Or they worsen. Well. We don't know what's going to happen.
I just see it very unlikely of them reversing the decision, unless they get pressure to reverse it. I feel like by saying, okay, we're going to give you a year, and if the crime statistics go up or down or whatever, then wouldn't that make the people who are doing the crimes be like, well, all we have to do is keep doing the crimes to prove that it didn't go down, so that way in a year they'll release it. Well, Ashley... I don't think that anybody will say, hey, I got an idea. Let's get booze back, guys. Let's mug some people tonight. Well, they'll do it at their annual meeting. At the annual meeting of drinkers at the beach. Don't you see people rebuttaling like that, though? I do not see them rebuttaling that way. I do not. Do you know what I'm saying, though? No, I don't. I'm having a tough time. Not at all. But I do not see local young people. Drinkers. I do not see drinkers saying... You know, getting together at the monthly meeting of drinkers. Getting together and saying, guys, I would like to propose an idea here. That's not what I'm saying. My idea is that we raise crime to show them. That's not what I'm saying. I thought that was what you were saying. Well, but I'm saying that these people might be like, well, F them. And to get back at them, we're just going to prove that it doesn't matter if you ban drinking from the beach.
We're still going to do what we want. And they're going to get together as a group and say, screw them. This is what we're going to do. And prove to them that it has nothing to do with the drinking on the beach and we can still do whatever we want. What meeting is that? There's no meeting. Well, how are they going to decide that? I do not. I'm being honest. I do not. Where do they hold the meeting? Touché. Oh, no. So, Zep. Seth says that in IB, they did a similar thing with the one-year ban, and he said it ended up sticking there and becoming a, you know. Maybe it will. Maybe, Sky, you're right. Maybe if it goes, you know, if it doesn't change much, they reverse it. It could. I mean, it could. I mean, I think it's highly unlikely, but, I mean, it could. Well, people may freak out and just throw such a stink that they. And it might hurt tourism, and that also may influence them as well when we are talking money. It will absolutely influence tourism. Talk to me about it. How? How? Well, I personally feel that the reason why during the holidays, like Labor Day, Memorial Day, and whatever, Pacific Beach is such an insane mess is because we have so many tourists coming in here and disrespecting the beaches because they're not their beaches.
I think you're right. Because every other weekend I go to the beach and it's chill. Like there's no problems except for holidays. We know that a ton of people come here and go to the beach. And if those people realize they can't drink here, they're not going to want to come. Yeah, like my husband, you know, the majority of his friends live in the Bay Area. That's where we're from. But like when they have bachelor parties, they'll come and they'll get a condo right on the beach and PB and they'll do bonfires and drink and whatever. And if they know, then they'll probably go to Vegas instead or somewhere else where they can, you know. do that kind of stuff. Here's the thing. I think there's going to be a ton of people that say, well, see, here's what you're going to get too. In fact, this is mostly what you're going to get. Mostly what you're going to get is a small decrease in drinking at the beach because everybody's going to keep drinking at the beach. Oh, yeah. If you think they're not, just check it out. They're going to keep drinking there. They're going to sneak it in. They're going to find a way. We're talking about 20-year-olds. You think they can't figure out how to get it done? Yeah. You think they're not going to go there with their six-packs full of preloaded drinks and drink out of their big gulp cups and whatever? There's going to be drinking at the beach. All you're going to get rid of is labels. You might as well have made a ban on labels and cans. Because drinking is still going to happen. And there are so many cops that can write so many tickets, and they will. And maybe that will generate some money in citations. But I'll tell you what, man.
The drinking is going to continue. It's just ridiculous. That's so crazy. Let's see. That's big news today in San Diego. That is gigantoid news today. I'm sorry, did you say the bays too? Yeah, I mean anything in the water areas. If it's a park or a beach, if it's basically a gathering area around the water, it sounds like it will qualify. P1J in Oceanside. What's up, Jay? Hey, good morning, guys. How you doing? Good. Good. Hey, I got some info on that one-year ban I heard on my way home from work yesterday. And basically what they said was there was a vote for an all-out ban that would not pass. So when it was proposed, okay, let's just try it out for a year, I guess they signed off on that. So that's where the one-year thing came from. That's how it happened? Yeah, that's what I heard on the news yesterday. That's unreal. All right, dude. Thank you.
Yeah, thanks, man. What a trip. I mean, our city council is so strange, I think. Yeah, because even the mayor, he only wanted the ban on holidays, not a year-round ban. Which I would totally understand that. But the city council decided differently. Here's Scott Peters. He's a city councilman, and he was disappointed. Cut 45. We have taken these speeches out of circulation. You can't go. And I think it's an outrage. It's a shame. You can't go. You can go. You can't drink. What does he mean you can't go? Scott, you can't go. Scott Peters says you cannot go to the beach. He just said it. He just said you can't go to the eight. The beaches are closed too? No. The beaches are closed. The beaches are closed in San Diego. Scott Peters has made an announcement. Scott Peterson? No. Not the guy in San Quentin. Scott Peters is what I'm saying. I don't think anybody's going to listen to you, Scott Peterson. Go back to prison.
It's like that scene in Jaws. Brody running along the beaches. Get out of the water! Where's the kid and her kid? Spilling out all over the dock. That's a weird, weird thing. Yeah. And then the other big thing is the writer's strike. So, Jay Leno is in support of the writers, he said. Because, like, what else is he going to... I don't support these guys. I hope they all go to hell. Yeah, the people who make me funny. Yeah, yeah. Shove it. Those guys want more money. I think they should all get cancer. Oh, my God. What's he going to say? Of course he's going to support them. Yeah. You know what I mean? Cut three. Well, I support them. I've been working these people for 20 years, so I support them. People kind of get the wrong idea how much writers make. I know I'm real cheap, but I don't pay any. So unless they get these DVD sales and those other stuff. So, I mean, I think it's a good cause. How long this is going to go on? And who's got a cave? Like, it's the writers against who?
Who pays them? Who are they? Like, is it a guild? Is that who they're trying to get? The union. Well, they're in a union, and the union is striking. Okay, so who's got, like, let's say Paramount goes, okay, we'll do it. Like, is it a whole group of everybody they're waiting for to say, okay, we'll do it? Or, like, how does this end? How do we end it? Should we get a big toy drive together, raise a bunch of money? Yeah, I don't really know, but the way I interpret it, and this could be wrong, is like, say California sets a minimum wage. Everybody has to pay at least the minimum wage. So the writers are basically kind of trying to up their own minimum wage. I get it, but who says yes or no? Somebody's either... Let's say that Hollywood decided today they wanted to end it and say yes. Okay, well, who says yes? Hollywood. Yeah, the city of Hollywood is... Yeah, Hollywood. Okay, we give up. Okay. I don't get it. Okay, but listen, we're already behind. We have to take a break. But when we come back...

Monday night football last night. Pittsburgh whooped up on Baltimore 38-7. Ben Roethlisberger threw five touchdowns in the first half. So it's a pretty disappointing story, but apparently there is a National Guard unit under investigation for taking donations that were meant for fire victims. Holy cow. So how did this go down, Sky? And it's allegedly, right? Um, well... Or have they proven it? So they're saying allegedly, but at the same time, they are saying that all of the items have been returned. Oh, well, that's not allegedly. So I guess, you know, in a court of law, it's alleged, but not, I don't know. Well, but anyways, they say that this National Guard unit is from Ontario and they were... down fighting the Harris fire in the Potrero area, and that one of the members of the unit allegedly took donations, like things like food and drinks and diapers and stuff like that that were meant for the fire victims. So they say that the unit, about three dozen members, were held at the Guard's Armory on Palm Avenue in National City until last night, and they were returned back up to Ontario. You think that's bad karma?
Stealing from fire victims. Come on. Yes. Oh, yeah. Let's do some of this. This is what I'm talking about. Let's play some Wuss Rock jukeboxes. Can you hear me? This hour, William Shatner will be on the show. Also on the show today, Slash from Velvet Revolver and Guns N' Roses will be on the show. It's going to be a heck of a show today. So, Wuss Rock jukeboxes. The idea is we have guys call in and sing really wussy songs. And then Eddie Skye and Sean will evaluate them and judge them based on how effeminate they sound. And so 5701053 if you want to play. P1 Liberace is on the line right now. Hey, Liberace. Hello, hello. How are you? I'm fine. You guys? We're doing great. We're doing great. What we're going to do is we're going to play you a clip of a Wuss Rock song. And what I need you to do is I need you to...
When the clip stops, take over singing, okay? Got it. Now, if you don't know the words, bro, if you don't know this song, you better be creative. Got it. Okay, because there's two things that we cannot tolerate on What's Rock Jukebox. Two things. One is a lack of creativity, and the other is... I couldn't hear it. Okay, those are two things that we can't tell. Automatic loss. Automatic loss if you say, I can't hear it. No problems. Okay, you ready? Here we go. When the clip stops, you start. Here we go. I think I love you. Wow. Well, it's unfortunate because... That is in the song. It's just not the little snippet that we chose. So he knows the song. He sang it well. You know, it's P1 Liberace, so I thought he was, you know, sitting behind the piano tickling the ivories. Hello. I think we know what tickling the ivories means. Yes. So, man, I have to give him a thumbs up on that one. Just because I felt bad. He knows the song. He knows the lyrics. He just picked the wrong part in the song. So, thumbs up.
Skye, how about you? Yeah, I mean, I think the song is very repetitive, so it would be hard, you know, to know exactly what lyrics were coming next. I don't fault him for that. I think he had a great tone. He got lyrics that were definitely part of the song, so I think only a hater could vote against Liberace. Dolph, you mean an evil person. Well, yeah, you know, somebody who has issues with sexuality and... No soul? Right, right, right, right, right, right. Those are two completely different things, the no soul and issues with the sexuality, but I'm just saying that's what it would take in order for the person to not vote yes for this poor guy. I agree with you, Mike. Anyway, on to you, Sean. What did you think? What did you think of that? I thought... I thought he did very poorly. Wait, that's not true. Sean, you can't be those things we just said. I thought that he got the lyrics completely wrong. Completely wrong? That's not true. And therefore, I cannot give him my vote. No soul. No soul. He stole us. Liberace, it's a good thing that Eddie and Sky liked you. You win.
Nice work. Hang on the line. What did he win, Eddie? Well, John Lovitz, comedian John Lovitz, is opening a brand new comedy club in San Diego. What? And he'll be in the studio on Thursday to kind of talk about it. I don't even want to know what it is, where it's at, or anything. Let's wait until Thursday. This is great. That's so cool. And so we have tickets to his grand opening on Friday. That's one of those things that you go, man, that'd be cool to do, right? Open up a comedy club. That's cool. P1 Can't Get It Right is on the line. Well, hello. Hello to you. Are you ready to give What's Rock Jukebox a try? You know, I'm willing to give it a shot. All right. I don't want to hear that you can't hear it. And if you don't know the song, you better be creative and come up with something. You ready? Yes, I am. Here we go. His might?
Mike. Mike. That's different. Eddie. Well, you know, he did do what we asked him to do. If he didn't know the lyrics, he made up the lyrics. Unfortunately, they weren't very clear. I wasn't exactly sure what he said. Yes. And so for that, I think he's more of like a supporter of gays. Like if I were at a press conference announcing, you know, that yes, I am in fact gay, he would be my lawyer in the background. So unfortunately, thumbs down. Sky. What about you? What did you think? Yeah, I mean, the lyrics were creative, but, you know, when you hear a song, you visualize things, you know, kind of like a video or whatever. And I visualized a woman. He was singing about a woman. And, you know, that doesn't fly here on the mic. Heterosexuality. So, I'm sorry. No. Sean. I would like you to get pneumonia. Oh, my God.
Lebonic plague, Ebola, and brain cancer. Wow, that's a lot. That's a bad day. That's a no. Can't get it right. Sorry about that. That's all right. And finally, P1 Mikey for El Presidente is on the line. P1 Mikey for El Presidente, are you ready to play a little What's Rock jukebox? ready to play when the song stops you start here we go you gotta give the guy credit why well because he got your dad laughing somebody thought that was funny and there's probably more people in the audience that were laughing there may have been people that really thought that was good stuff Hey, listen, this isn't a mashup here, okay? Thank you. You can't combine two songs. Thank you. It is not a mashup is what you're saying? That's all we're doing. Yeah, this isn't scratch and sniff. Thank you. Eddie, what did you think of P1 Mikey for El Presidente? Okay, well, you know, when I first saw Mikey for El Presidente and heard him sing, I was like, oh, okay, this is going to be good. I like this song. And I'm going to picture him with a dude like at the end of Notebook.
But when I looked again, he was with a woman. And I'm like, you son of a gun. Are you kidding me? You son of my gun. And so, no, you get a thumbs down. Sky. Yeah, I think this is a clear-cut case of another conservative politician in the closet about his sexuality. And no matter what you tell us, dude, you like women. I'm sorry. Well, let's see. Oh, gosh. Uh-oh. I would like you to get the Benz. Okay. I would like you to get cataracts. All right. Broken leg and post-traumatic stress disorder. Wow. He deserves it. Wow, Sean. Take that as a no. And sorry about that, Mikey for El Presidente. Your white Christmas mashup did not work. You guys want to do some cell phone mishaps? Yeah. If you... Have ever accidentally called someone like, you know, like your phone was in your pocket? Very big. Sleep train mattress centers. Well, the ride is getting a little bit tougher out here, and the fog is getting thicker as well. That's actually dumping a little bit of drizzle in some areas, so it's making the roadways just slick enough to cause some problems, so just be careful out there. Right now, we've got a heavy ride down the shoreline and south on set of the 5. That is very tough here coming out of Carlsbad right around La Costa. Slow and go down into the racerack in Del Mar. I got the same coverage through AIS for like $400 and some change. Are you serious? That's for the whole year. I couldn't believe it. Oh, dude, I love hearing it. I can't thank you enough, man. What would you say to people that have not called about AIS yet? I would say it's for real. Check it out. Yep. It worked for you, right? It worked for me. Thanks a lot, man. It worked for Tom. It can work for you. I appreciate you calling in, Tom. 1-800-777-4247. It's AIS. Tell them that I told you to call. I guarantee you. You're going to be so happy. Luis Castillo has a torn tendon in his ankle, had to have surgery. He's going to miss up to six weeks. Sean, just I am asking if it's time for another Shatner clip. William Shatner on later this hour. Sean. Yeah!
is quite a Star Trek fan, and he's very excited about it. You know how we have a problem if I get my phone close to equipment, it buzzes my cell phone? Yeah. So I'm wondering, let me test it and see if I'm going to be able to play back Sean's message without it making an awful noise. Let's see. Got weird. Oh, no, it hasn't even begun. It's two minutes long. Two minutes? About William Shatner, Eddie, he's very happy being on. Okay. I was excited. Oh? It's weird. Before we went to break, I said that TMZ caught a major female celebrity parking in a handicapped spot while she was tanning. Okay, now I will take guesses. Ashley, who do you think it was? I mean, my first instinct was Britney Spears. You are correct. Yeah. Duh. Duh. Like, who else would it be? And, like, can she now get a ticket for that? I mean, because there's pictures everywhere of her car parked in a handicapped spot.
Can, you know? I don't think the cops would go after the fact, but if they caught her during, yeah, I mean, obviously. Man. How do you not figure it out by now? How do you not figure it out? She's a scumbag. Like, you can't do that. That's so messed up. Do you think that there may be some handicapped people that, like, they want to park and they got to go park somewhere because you're tanning? Bro? How myopic. of her to think that that's okay. Like, oh, I'll just pull in here and park. And, I mean, she knows how much paparazzi are around her. Like, how do you do that? It's a bad move, and she's going to take some heat. Leave her alone! I texted my girlfriend and told my wife instead. Was drunk when I called her. Passed out when I hit send. I thought that I hung up.
But my cell phone for once, it did not lose the signal. That's when she heard me talking all that crap. Cell phone just happened. What's happening to all of us? Oh, yeah. You know, where, like, your phone starts ringing. You look at it, you see your friend on the caller ID, you answer the phone, hello, and they're not there, but you hear them in the background talking. Because their phone accidentally called you. Or, you do it. You accidentally call somebody. Like our program director, Shauna, she accidentally left a gigantic message on her friend's voicemail, and she's having a conversation with her husband about what kind of a loser the friend was. Wow. Two minutes long, at least. That must be the worst feeling ever, once you realize what has just transpired. I'll give Shauna credit. And there's really no getting around it, but...
She, you know, when she was confronted with it, she said, hey, I meant it. Yeah, I screwed up. I screwed up, but hey, I mean, those things I said. It's the truth. How I feel. Deal with it. So, has this ever happened to you? 570-1053. Give us a call if you've ever done this. P1 Marissa's on the line. You there, Marissa? Yeah, what's going on? Wow. You are very, you are very espresso this morning. Yes, lots of Starbucks. I'm sorry, I did, I had too much coffee. coffee already this morning what's up what did you do did you call someone or did they call you i i actually called somebody um i don't even know why i'm laughing i really did have too much coffee um i was at lunch with my mom and my sister called and i chatted with her for just a minute and then i thought that i hung up but i didn't and we started talking trash about her boyfriend oh that's bad 20 minutes For 20 minutes? Yeah.
the entire time. Now that's a question that I have for everybody here on the show. If that's going on, do you listen to the whole 20 or do you hang up after you've like thinking I'm going to get too hurt if I keep listening? How do you hang up though? It's like an accident. There's no way. You want to look away but you can't. I don't think I can take the hurt. I would hang up after I got hurt the first couple of times. I'd be like I can't hear more. After you got the gist of it? Yeah, after I got the gist because I'd be afraid. I'd be afraid. I'm going to be emotionally broken at the end of this. Now, did your sister have any idea that you and your mom were kind of out on her boyfriend? No. She had no idea. We've only been together like six months, but he is a complete loser. Well, you probably shouldn't keep saying that. We're on the radio. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We are on the radio. She could probably hear this as well. I mean, she's heard it all now. I mean, he doesn't have a job. Okay. Light it out. Light it out, girl. He's really ugly. Thank you, Marissa. And try decaf. Laugh out loud, Marissa. P1 Mary? Yes. Go ahead. You're on the air. Okay. I was getting ready to go out one night, and I was expecting a call from my mom. And the phone rang, and it was her. But she accidentally called me while she was in the throes of sex.
Oh. No. Your mom? Your mom? I heard my mother doing it. Oh, no. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. Oh, no. No, no. No, thank you. Now, that one I would be okay with hanging up on. Yes. Hang up right away. Hang up right. Did you hang up? It's one of those things where you don't really know what you're hearing, and it took like a good 30 seconds to a minute for me to realize it was. But by then, by then you've absorbed it. I just looked at the phone like, oh, no! Well, wait, Mary, did you start like yelling into the phone, or did you just hang up? I just hung up. Once I realized what I was hearing, I just hung up. Did you tell her? I called my sister, and I told her, and I was just... Totally freaked out, and it was not good. So then the next morning, my mom called me back, and she called me, and she's all, I was like, oh, no. She thought it was a total joke. She thought it was the funniest thing in the world. Oh, so she did know. She found out, yeah. My sister ended up calling her and telling her later on that night. That's so awful. She decided to joke me about it for years. Now, of course, if it's Sean's mom, I'm not hanging up. I don't know that anybody would. Eddie, Eddie.
That doesn't even make sense, Eddie. Well, if she accidentally called my phone, I wouldn't hang up. If on accident. She would never accidentally call you. If it happened, though, I'm saying that I wouldn't hang up. She doesn't even have your number. Well, if you're hanging up on someone, it's kind of rude. Yeah, that would be very rude, Scott. You're right. Thank you, Mary. It's my mom, bro. Tell me about it. Hello. Well, let's move on. Let's move on to the next one. All right, gotcha. Now we get the idea. This next one is a little complicated. I'm going to try to explain before we talk to her about it because I think maybe I could do an all right job trying to give you the gist. Basically, it's a girl. Her friend called her. Let's call the girl, well, she calls herself boyfriend killer. So we're going to call the girl P1 boyfriend killer. Okay. P1 Boyfriend Killer's friend called her, but the friend didn't realize that she was calling, and she was hooking up with Boyfriend Killer's boyfriend. Oh! Does this make sense? Yes. Whoa. P1 Boyfriend Killer? Yes. Did I explain it correctly? That sums it up pretty much. Your friend was hooking up with your boyfriend. Yes, and she was calling to find out where I was, just so that they were...
Feeling a little comfortable about me not showing up. I hadn't answered the phone, so she had left a voicemail. So I go to listen to the voicemail, and first it starts off with her, hey, you know, just wanted to say hi and see where you're at. And then it doesn't hang up, and it goes on with the conversation. They're kind of joking around about me, and then she brags about giving. I don't know if I can give. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you know what? I think we know what you were going to say. Yes, we know. You can hear the demonstrations, okay? Oh, my gosh. Wow. I've got a little bonus for you. The same thing a month later on my sister's phone to me. Same thing with the same guy. Your sister's? Wait, what? My sister did the same thing to me with the same guy. With your boyfriend? Why were you still with the guy? Wait, wait, wait. So wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Boyfriend killer. So you didn't dump the guy. after your friend hooked up with him, right? Oh, well, yes, I did. It was just that my sister was still kind of nervous about... Oh, I get it. Yeah. He was dumped. Your sister just went for it. Same, you know, same recording. It was a really wonderful souvenir. So your sister, when your sister did it, there was no cheating going on because you'd already dumped him. But still, the fact that your sister would hook up is kind of creepy, you know, right?
Hey, I got a question. Did your sister know about the cell phone mishap that happened with your friend? Oh, yes. Oh, my. They're good friends also. We were all very good friends, very close friends. It turns out that they were even closer. So did you tell the sister, hey, you just did this too? Yes. You told your sister that? Oh, sure. Next time you need to make sure that your phone hangs up because you just did the same thing that so-and-so did. Oh, my. How did your sister react? Well, she basically denied it. In fact, that's what the... You had proof. Right? Can't really deny what you... It doesn't matter how much they hear. Oh, no, you're crazy. That's not us. Oh, wow. Pretty sad. Is that... Is that guy still with either one of these chicks? No, both girls have left the state. Oh, my. That is a crazy one. Wow. Dude. All right, Boyfriend Killer, thanks for the call. Thanks. That was a crazy one. That was a crazy one. All right. William Shatner's going to be on this hour. Oh, yeah. That's right. Is Lindsay Lohan pregnant? Huh?

Online at shaneco.com. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We've got some tough rides on the freeways this morning. Some heavy fog as well. Stolen things down quite a bit, man. So you might want to give yourself a little extra time. You're more than likely going to need it. Right now out of the South Bay. Very tough on both the 5 and the 5 northbound. There's a new accent, North 805, just before Auto Park Drive, involving a trash truck and a car blocking lanes. You're going to find a backup around that. And then you've got the usual commute stuff. Coming up towards H Street, and then from there, it's a solid slow event through National City, North Park, all over the Mission Valley. Now again, out of Kearney Mesa over to 52. Northbound 5 might be a better way to go. That's just the usual slow stuff from E Street up into National City. Let you go for a good long stretch, but then it grabs you again coming out of the downtown S-curve for a slow right into Mission Bay now. The westbound 8, that's getting quite tough as well in the Cajon Valley from Lake Jennings Park Road to Greenfield. And now it struggles from Spring Street through La Mesa. That's a solid slow one towards Texas Street and Mission Valley. Lots of fog here. More slow traffic from the 163 through Hotel Circle off and onto the 5 freeway. Very tough. West 52 now just bumper to bumper out of Santee to the top of the summit. South 15 slow and go still out of Escondido off to 78 to Overlake Hodges into Rancho Bernardo. And the coaster rides south on 5, a slow and go from La Costa solid all the way down past the racetrack in Del Mar. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. What's up? Hey, this is...
T1 Matt, hey, I just want to thank you for hooking me up with Sleep Train. Went there two days ago. We got a Stearns and Foster just like you and went to Santee Sleep Train. We got the bed for a price that I can't even mention on the radio. And then they gave us all the accessories, the sheets, the really nice bed frame, the mattress cover, you name it, everything half off. You slept on it yet? No, we get it delivered tonight. Lucky. Can't wait. Yeah, I love it, dude. We didn't get the exact same one you got. They showed me the one you got, but we got one of the other Sturdon and Fosters, and they're all nice. They're so awesome. That's awesome, dude. That makes me happy. Call me back and tell me tomorrow morning how your first night's sleep was on that sleep chain mattress. Yeah, I might have to take Friday off. I'll be feeling too rested. I'll have to go take an extra day. Or maybe we can join them. Yeah, for a nap. Is it cool if we come over and take a nap later? Let's go. Yeah, the show. We got the California King. It's big enough for everybody. There you go. Thank you for the call. You guys having a killer time? Boons. Thank you. Sleep Train's your ticket to a better night's sleep. Thought that she may be pregnant by the guy she was in rehab with. Her current boyfriend. Her current boyfriend. But it was just a scare. Well, how did they, like, how is this possible? Well, I know how it's possible. But, like, how is this out and about in the news? Well, because I guess he proposed.
when they were having this little thing to do yeah rob are you listening and she said uh no thank you um you know she thought it was an honorable thing to do but i think she'll get an academy award for this picture you know getting freshly sober is not the time to jump into a marriage oh so she's being all you know hey listen I'm freshly sober, and so I don't think it's the best idea for us to get married. I mean, it was a good idea for us to hook up in rehab and have intercourse in rehab. And have you leave your fiancé. And have you leave your fiancé. Unprotected. Unprotected. But marriage, out of the question. Don't be ridiculous. Yeah, that crosses the line. That'd be silly. But, you know, she eventually got her period, and all is fine. It's gorgeous! Put out a press release? Yeah. All's well. And Flowey's in town. Okay, Sean believes I can maybe test my... I can get voicemail off the iPhone. I asked him to see if he could find out. This may work, so we're going to try it. Uh-oh. No. So when it picks up, I hit star. Yeah. No, but my wife says that this happens sometimes when she calls me. It rings once and nothing... Uh-oh. It's going to play back. It's going to play back from the oldest to the newest. Is there a way to skip? I'll just delete all of them. Do you know how to do that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll delete them all. Especially that first one. Why would you save that? That's weird. I don't delete messages. Really? But doesn't your mailbox get full? It'll tell you, hey, you've got to delete some, and then I'll delete a couple. But I don't delete them. Why? Because it's a pain in my butt.
If I don't have to, I don't. But isn't it just pushing a button after you listen to it? Yeah, but I listen to it and just turn the phone off. I don't do anything. I listen to it and I'm done. I don't go through the process of delete or anything. Plus, who knows? You may need it later. Like now. Now I can try again. Okay, but first let me tell you why we're calling this message. Eddie has booked William Shatner on the show today. Sean, our sound effects guy, is really, really into Star Trek. That's putting it so lightly. And he was really excited that Shatner's going to be on. I know for a fact that it's Sean's favorite person in Hollywood. Yeah, I think he's my favorite actor. So all I can tell you is... You can't tell me that. I've got him for you. All I can tell you is I'm really, really glad...
I didn't pick up my cell phone last night. I didn't hear it. I was downstairs. I came up. I'd missed a call from Sean and he left a voicemail. Not that big a deal. So cute. How weird is that one ring thing? Did it again? That's weird. You know what I did? Before my ringer was off and it worked, I've turned my ringer on now. We'll try it with the ringer on. See if it makes a difference. I apologize. Just let it go. Let it go. Because it picked up last night. Work it out. It picked up last night. Breathe, Mike. Breathe. Let it go. Great radio. Oh, Sean. Sean, not now, bro. There it is. See? See, Mike? See, Mike? You just got to let it go. Got to wait it out. What song is that? P.O.D. Nice. P.O.D., goodbye for now. I'm kidding. You heard that? Listen to your messages. Press 1. Saved message. Hey, Mike, it's Scott. God darn it. Get off. Get off my phone. Amen. It's garbage. I've now gone into the deleted messages and deleted them all. The only message left available to me is Sean's message now. I agree with Sean. Great radio. Oh, no. But I really want to hear it. Time's a charm. I really want to hear it. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. It's going to be worth it. It is worth it. It is worth it. It's a great message. I don't think so. Hey, it's working. Oh, dude, we got to get off that line. Shatner's calling in in like a minute. You got to be kidding me. I'm not kidding. Try again, Mike. Third time. Fourth time.
Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. It's going to work. Try it again. Work it out. He's going to call right in the middle, too. No. He is. Don't tune out. Now nothing? No. Let it. Let it. It was nothing last time in the ring. Remember? No, but that was only after one ring. I'm going to lose my mind. Oh, my God. What happened? Hello? Who is this? Hello? Who is this? Who's this? I just called my cell phone and someone picked up. Hello? This is Mike. Hello? This is your cell phone. Oh my gosh. I just called my cell phone and my Mexican chick picked it up and my cell phone's in my hand. You dialed the wrong number. We're not supposed to play this. The radio gods are saying something. I think we'll be okay. Unless she somehow taped that and sends a letter. Here we go. Hang on.
Fifth time to try? Is this really five times trying this? At least. You gotta be kidding me. Now nothing. I hate this studio. I hate this phone. What else do you hate? Me. Hate me. How can it not work? Wait. We all know that our studio sucks. We can't talk while I'm dialing or it won't work. My phone is just sitting in my hand not doing anything. I mean, it's just... Hold the phone. I'll handle it. You're going to try it? I'll dial it and then I'll put it on hold and pick it up. Okay. I mean, because apparently my fingers are so fat, I need a dialing one. I need a dialing one. You don't. Do you have like an ignore button on your phone if somebody calls? Yes. It'll go straight to voicemail if you just hit that. Trust me, I've tried this before. Trust me. Wow. Hello.
Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I'm trying to call my... No, honestly. Hello? Hello, you know, people are trying to sleep here. Okay, thank you, thank you. What is going on? That's my cell phone. I don't know. That's my cell phone number we tried. So now this chick is getting your cell phone calls. Yes. The chick who's trying to sleep. Yes. Yeah, she's just trying to sleep. Mike, people are trying to sleep. It's early. What is going on? Craziness. Oh. I love technology. Do you see what I mean? Like, it's like caveman days right now as far as technology. It's caveman days. Maybe we should do something else. Sean? Yeah, I'm not doing it anymore. I'm not calling it anymore. How about a Shatner clip? That'll make you feel better. No, that'll make you feel better, Sean. What are you doing, Eddie? Oh, it's working. Put it on hold, Eddie. Put it on hold. It's working.
I can see my phone lighting up with the studio line. I figured it out. Hi, I'm not available, so leave me a message. Please enter. Main menu. To listen to your message, press 1. Saved message. Yes! I'm excited about William Shatner. Oh, my God, man. Jeez. Who is Eddie? Like, not greatest. Like, I want him to be a woman so I can give him a kiss. Oh, my God, man. The guy is so cool. He's such a fan, such a great actor. I was just saying on the air like a couple months ago how he's like a great actor and he really is like legitimately good. I know he gets a bad rap or whatever, but dude, he's frigging awesome. You know, there's a reason why they have him on Boston Public. They don't have him on there because he sucks. They have him on there because he's good. The guy is good, man. He's been on Columbo twice. How many people have been on Columbo twice?
Give me a break. You know? The only one I can... No, I can't even think of one that's been on twice. No? I can't think of another one that's been on twice. Trying to think of who's been on, like George Hamilton and a bunch of other big, big stars. Guy is friggin' awesome. Can't wait. Oh, but I was going to tell you that people that know him are Bill. So, I don't think that... People call him, like, William. So you may want to call him Bill tomorrow. I don't know. You'd probably ask him. I don't know. I don't care, dude. He's going to be on. I'm excited. He's on the Twilight Zone. Come on. Okay, we get it. You don't go on the Twilight Zone because you suck. Go on there because you're good. I'm excited. All right. I'm going to go walk some track. I'll see you. That was Sean's message to me yesterday on my voicemail. Freaking out William Shatner was going to be on today. On the line. William Shatner. Wow. Wow. Good morning.
Good morning to you, sir. I don't know if you were able... And, you know, I don't... Yes. Oh, so formal. Oh, I love it. I'm only kidding. Bill. Oh, but I hate Mikey. I hate it. Like, it's stuck. Mikey and Eddie. Eddie, how does he know about you? Because you set up the interview. You set up the interview. Imagine if this was Mike and Ed. That's common. It's true. This is true. Bill's right. Talking to Billy. Ah, Billy. Ah, Billy. Hi, Billy. Billy's right. Well, Bill, listen. Billy. He'll owe me responsibility. Billy. Love it. No, it's Ashley. It's Ashley. It is Ashley. Although she spells it with two E's. That's right. Five minutes haven't asked one question. Okay. That's one. Yes. I do. I think.
Yes, I do. You're the best. That was brilliant. Billy Shatner on the line with us, ladies and gentlemen. He's the star of ABC's Boston Legal. You remember him from Star Trek. And Sean... Sean is our sound effects guy. From Shawnee? Yeah, it could be. And Sean was so freaked out that you were going to be on the show. He wrote questions that he wanted me to ask you. He left me a two-minute voicemail giving me your resume. He's really, really excited. Sean, would you like to say hello to Billy Shatner? Hello, Billy. I'm a huge fan. I'm very excited to talk to you. You're a great actor, and you brought a lot of happiness to my life. Thank you very much. All right, so Billy, I do have some questions for you. I do have some questions for you. Now, what is the strangest run-in that you have had with a Trekkie slash Trekker? It just happened. No, it didn't. I've had some real strange experiences. Come on, Billy, get real. What is he talking about? Okay. All right. Okay.
Is that it? Who would expect it there? Who would expect it from this guy with a sword? Turns out it was Ricardo Montalban. That's right. That is an incredible story. Wow. Billy Shatner is on the line with us. Billy, one of the things that his show has become well known for is doing a George Takai impression. Whatever about you? Let me listen to a moment of some of William Shatner's work cut 42. That's as far as you go, sir. I'm telling you I was there on the bridge. I know what happened. I know what I did. It's in the transcript. Computer transcripts don't lie. So that's the way we do it now. Sweep it under the rug and me along with it. Draw a general court. What? I demand it. And right now, Commodore Stone, right now. Billy, does it still give you the chills?
Can you remind anyone of Mike McGregor? I just got that right now. I just got it. I love it. Billy Shatner, his show is Boston Legal, and you can see it tonight, 10 p.m., ABC. Watch it. It's great. And Exodus. Exodus. The DVD and Academy of the Book. We didn't ask one question, really. We really didn't. We don't care. I got to know you, brother. Don't like my George Takaya. How could you not, Billy? That's genius. Come on. Give me a break. I think it's... Billy Shatner, thank you so much for coming on. You're a good sport, and we really appreciate it. Thank you. My pleasure, guys. I'll see you soon. We'll see you. What in the hell? Oh, my goodness. What's that? Is he not the best? He's the best. I'm in. He's so cool, man. Love it. That was crazy.
Crazy. Weirdest interview we've ever done. He's nuts. He's nuts. I love it. He is a little crazy, right? Yeah. There's no doubt about it that when people work with him, it's kind of like whatever he wants because he's crazy. You're not going to reason with him. You know what I mean? Just whatever you want to do, Billy. He drove Chekhov to suicide. That's true. That is the truth. Wait a second. That's the truth statement. Five minutes on our names. First five minutes on Mikey, Eddie, Ashley, Billy, Shawnee. First five minutes of the interview. And we had him for seven minutes. Holy cow. You guys make my morning so much better, I swear to God. This is the Mikey Show. I appreciate that, dude. That's very nice of you to say. Rock 105.3. Open your mirror, mentally going south. It's Radio Rubio's. It's still pretty tough out here on our freeways this morning. Might want to give yourself a little extra time. We've got some fog and drizzle out there to deal with as well.
Right now out of the South Bay, things are improving slowly in the 805 northbound out of the South Bay. But once you hit around 47th Street, it's still a pretty tough one all the way into North Park. And then you've got the busier ride again from Mesa College. That extends all the way up to Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. Northbound 5 got very heavy as well here this morning, heading in toward the 15 into the downtown S-curve. And then it pretty much bunches up through past the airport all the way into Mission Bay. There's a bunch of debris near SeaWorld Drive that caused that mess. West 94 on the King Freeway. A little tight still from Federal to Kelton from an accident clearing there. Then more brake lights from 32nd Street in towards downtown. Westbound 8, man, you're suffering on this one. That is back to a big town approaching Spring Street, La Mesa. And that's a solid, slow struggle all the way to Hotel Circle. A lot of fog here to deal with that. South 15, that's a slow go right as well from the 78 into Rancho Bernardo. And then it punches up again now from Carmel Mountain Ranch down towards Mercy Road in Poway. And it goes without saying that Coastal Ride South Park 5 is quite heavy from La Costa Solid Inn past the racetrack at Via de la Valle in Del Mar. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. All right. Now here's something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show. Anyone can't get it right is on the line. Are you ready to give What's Rock Jukebox a try? You know, I'm willing to give it a shot. All right. And if you don't know the song, you better be creative and come up with something. You ready? Yes, I am. All right, here we go. Cause you You can rest or live on the tip of my mic. Sean. I would like you to get pneumonia, bubonic plague, Ebola, and brain cancer. Wow. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. During the commercial break, Sean wrote me IMs that said, greatest moment of my life. He said hello to me. Wow. Wow.
I can die happy. Seriously a thrill. He's real happy. Sean is. It's a big deal. The guy was really awesome. It was a great interview. He was funny. He was nice. Man, what's not to like? He's really excited. It's 817. Where are you? Oh, sorry. I thought I heard a pause. My bad. It's 817 and... This guy sent me video of Pete Doherty. Now, who's he dating? Pete Doherty? Well, he was Kate Moss's longtime boyfriend. And like there's, you know, Kate Moss, you know, just it was like there were there would be times where there'd be video of Pete Doherty, like dangling Kate Moss out of a window. And, you know, Michael Jackson. And we remember the whole thing about, you know, Kate Moss being caught doing the coke and whatever. And so this Pete Doherty guy, who's, you know, a British rock star.
He's crazy. If people want to find it, they go ahead. I don't want to mention websites. I don't want to mention any of that. Okay. But they got a video of him shooting heroin. Whoa. So he says that he was done with it, but he's apparently not done with it. To me, it's like the saddest thing in the world. It's like watching the show Intervention. Only it's, you know. Yeah, well, and I guess the night before this video was shot, he... was talking to the press saying how much he missed hard drugs like joking around that he missed hard drugs and in the video he's like wearing the exact same clothes that he did like the press interviews with crack is whacked so who do we know like who's taping this who is he okay videotaping him doing heroin Yeah, there's speculation that, you know, it could have been a friend and he didn't realize it, or it could have been an arrangement through a dealer, like he didn't have money for the drugs, and the dealer was like, if you let me video this of you, I'll give you the drugs for free, is another speculation, because the dealer knew that he would make money on the other side selling this tape to the tabloids. Is he real hard off for money?
That kind of deal? I don't know. I mean, I know he's had crazy drug habits with heroin and crack for many, many years. Right. So, I mean, you can blow through a lot of money real quick when you're, you know, shooting up all the time. Yeah. Sad. He's not with Kate Moss anymore? I don't believe so. I think they broke up a little while ago. It's real sad, man. That's a sick person. Yeah. And you can tell he's real sick when you look at it. Yeah. We mentioned it earlier, but San Diego City Council said no more booze on the beaches and that's that. And that they'll look at it again in a year. But for the first year, they're going to do this and see how it goes after a year. I was saying earlier, I'm like, I can't imagine a situation where they'll say after a year, oh, yeah, yeah, you know, things are, let's bring it back. I just, you know, this city was really, you know, bad off without the booze. Let's bring it back. This is a city councilman named Scott Peters who was disappointed by the decision. Cut 45. Taking these beaches out of circulation, you can't go. And I think it's an outrage. It's a shame. You can't go to the beaches anymore? I didn't know you can't go to the beaches. They check you at the door to make sure that you have booze. Yeah, the beach store. I didn't know there was a door. You know how when you go to the beach and they have the velvet ropes? Right. No. And there's a big, giant guy standing there? The beach store guy. The beach store guy. No, I've never seen that. You kind of stand in line for him.
Ever. Yeah, and if it's nighttime, he takes a flashlight and shines it underneath your driver's license. And makes sure you have booze. And now that you don't have booze, you're not going to be let in the beach at all. Wait, what? That's terrible. That doesn't sound right. It's a deal. Okay. Sky. What up? Can we discuss your conversation with us in the office the other day about why you believe your hands are messed up? Oh, my God. If you guys are cool about it. What is that supposed to mean? Well, if you don't mock me and make me into a crazy person. I just want to share the story. That's all. Okay. As long as everybody's cool. I got no problems talking about it. Sky has fish hands. I do not have fish hands.
You gotta be cool. They're lizard hands. They are not lizard hands. This guy has amphibian hands. When my hands become saturated in water, the palms get disgusting. They look like a frog. They're all bumpy and weird. So she has frog hands. They don't itch or anything because everybody keeps asking me, does it itch? No, it doesn't itch. It's not weird. And then as soon as my hands dry out, it goes away. You know how a frog's skin is bubbly and it has those little bumps on it? Yeah. Okay, imagine if you took the frog's green skin and you made it a white girl's skin. Oh, gross. That's what her hands look like when they get wet. Wow. That's disgusting. Sean, remember the part about being cool and like me opening up and you not being an A face? No, wait. Now, we've talked about this on the air before. So that's not the part that she talked about in the office that was so weird. What, Ashley? I was just going to say, so because you take a bath every night. So every night, does this happen? Oh, it doesn't just have to be a bath. It happens in the shower, too. It happens if I'm washing my face. Oh, yeah. Every day, multiple times a day.
My hands get wet multiple times a day. Well, yeah, most people wash their hands, wash their face, take a shower. All you have to do is get them wet. You don't have to have them soak in there a little bit? It depends. It varies. Like, sometimes it's a lot worse than others. So sometimes it could take, you know, 30 seconds to a minute of water exposure. Another time it could take, like, five minutes of water exposure. And it also varies. It may just be a tiny patch in the middle of my palm, or sometimes it starts to spread out to, like, the sides of my palm. You gotta stop eating that ham with your hands. Again, you remember we were going to be... What if that was a thing? Sunburn residual. Again. I mean, do you want to talk about this or not? Okay. Then let's speak. Yes, ma'am. Let's be friends. No. Well... Ramsey, get me my hand cream. No. No, not my ham cream. Okay. Hand with a D. Hand with a D. You can't spell. You idiot. Moron. ham cream, you bring me ham cream. No, I asked for ham cream, you bring me ham. Forget it. That ham cream is delicious, though. So you guys can't even control yourself. Oh, my God. I mean, you couldn't even wait for me to get it out there and then mock me afterwards. I'm not hungry for ham cream. I need ham cream. Although, maybe later. Like ham cream on a Ritz cracker. Ashley, tell your dad it's not funny. Don't you stop. Did your hands get like that in the jacuzzi?
Legitimate question. There it is. Legitimate question. Legitimate question. I believe I said anytime I submerge my hands in water. Including chlorinated water. Including chlorinated water. Hot chlorinated water. Bubbling through jets. Is that water? Yes, that is water. Yes, it is. So it started at the bathhouse. I've never been to a bathhouse. Yes, you have. No, I have not. Well, you said you have. No, I never said I have. You said that you and your boyfriend used to make love in high school at a bathhouse. Yes. No, I never said that. I said we used to go to a place where you could rent a room by the hour that had a jacuzzi in it. Right, that's a bathhouse. A private room. That's not a bathhouse. What is it? It's a jacuzzi club. Do you guys want to talk about this or not? Yes, yes, yes. And if it keeps continuing like this, I'm not going to share. I'm not going to share. Hold on. She'll just ham up, clam up on us. Stop it. Don't do it, Sky. Don't check out. So, Sky, tell everybody what you discovered was the cause, what you believe to be.
I don't believe it. I'm researching it. B.S. The jury is still out. I'm researching it. I'm doing research and I'm taking steps to see if it is. Not only did she tell us that she figured out why her hands are doing this, but she has been flipping out about this ever since. Well, because if you think it's something, then you have to take steps to research and find out if it is or not. Sky thinks it's fluoride in the water. I'm sorry, Skye, my dad. I know. Tell your dad this is very inappropriate. It's not inappropriate. It is. It's extremely inappropriate. He's a guest here, and he shouldn't be laughing at me. Please tell your dad it makes it funnier when he laughs. But he doesn't laugh at the jokes about you. Why does he laugh at the jokes about me? Yeah, Dad. I have a dad, too. I'm in the middle. This is awkward. Sky, I support you. That's all that matters. Thank you. I appreciate that very much. Really, that's all that matters is that Ashley supports you. Bring it. Anybody want to come on Skype? No, let's not encourage people. I will shut you down so quick. I will shut each and everyone down. Ashley says bring it. Let's not bring it. I don't give a rip. Yeah, guys. You want to make fun of how you bring
In case you don't know. How about we don't bring it? So bring it. No, thank you. So I did some research. Yeah, so how's it fluoride? Fluoride. Well, I know that there's been talk about... Keep that crest away from me, bunny boo. Well, no. stuff get all toothpaste out of the house i'm getting all scaly here i have a question you know they put fluoride in our water right yes and that toothpaste oh my god yeah sean what's your if it's a if you're being legitimate question they have everything in the water there's fluoride in the water there's chlorine in the water there's all kinds of chemicals in the water we know it right chlorine's next on my list if it's not fluoride oh my god but i gotta eliminate it first like i got a test that i'm gonna do what so Wait, wait, a test. What? Something my mom suggested. Oh, no. You two cannot talk anymore. No. You and your mom have got to stop talking. What if it is fluoride? Then what? You guys going to apologize for calling us whack jobs? Then we will all boycott and picket Colgate. That's not what I'm saying. I mean, it's good for a lot of people.
It's good for a lot of people, but some people are sensitive. I know when I was a child, I was sensitive. You're still sensitive. Trust me. How do you know? Because my dentist had to stop giving me the fluoride treatment because it was yellowing my teeth. And he said some people are hypersensitive to fluoride. So he had to put me down to a way low dose, but below what a normal dose is for kids. And so that's when this thing started happening. And I'm like, well, what? what about water could cause this? And I, so I started researching fluoride and there are people who claim that, you know, there are multiple things that can happen to you, you know, rashes, acne, weird, scaly stuff. So what kind of test did you, like, where do you get, where does one acquire a fluoride test? Well, no, there's a doctor that my mom recommended that can test for environmental chemicals, but I'm not going to go that far yet. What I'm going to do is a whole test first. We've got to take this one at a time. Well, I'm not doing that yet, Mike. I understand. That's the second scene. I understand. Okay. My question is, where does mom have in her Rolodex? He's in La Jolla. A doctor who...
performs tests. It's Dr. Finefish. Hello. How does she find them? Just, you know, from her work in the community in alternative medicine. Like holistic community. Yeah, I wouldn't call it holistic, but yeah, you know, alternative medicine, you know, things like that. All right, Skye, the calls are flooding in and everybody's, this is what's going to happen. Everyone's going to start telling you what it is. And they're going to spin you out because right now you think it's fluoride. Hey, I haven't done the test yet. Do you want to hear what my test is going to be? Yeah, tell me about the test. So what I'm going to do is I got to go to a health food store and I got to get a tube of toothpaste that does not have fluoride in it. And I will get two Band-Aids. On one, I will put a dab of toothpaste with fluoride. The other Band-Aid, a dab of toothpaste without fluoride. I'll put them on my skin for a couple days. And then when I take them off, I'll see if my skin had any reaction. A couple days. Sky, wait. You already know that you have a bad reaction to fluoride. You don't have to do the test. You found that out with a dentist. What's the test? That doesn't mean that that's what's happening to your hands. But we'll see if there's a skin reaction. Like, obviously, my teeth had a reaction when he was giving me fluoride. Sky, if I stick two Band-Aids on my skin. Oh, you'll do it with me?
I'll do it with you. Okay, let's do it together. And then we can compare our skin after a couple days. They're both going to be creepy. They're both going to be creepy. But if the fluoride one is like, if the fluoride one is crazy and then the normal one is like normal, then, you know. Can I make a suggestion? I would love to hear one. Get some distilled water. Put your hands in the distilled water. And then pull them out. If they're creepy. Yeah. I thought of that too. But I feel like my body is already like saturated with it. Oh, come on. Like even when my palms get sweaty, I feel like it's about to come up. Like when my palms are just sweaty. Just me and you. Talk for real. So I'm taking some time off from using a lot of water. I've suspected for many years she's crazy. I've suspected it. Time off from water. But this woman is going to take time off from water. I started brushing with bottled water. I'm not bathing anymore, and I'm taking extremely quick showers. No more baths. No more baths. Just real quick showers. And I'm going to see if that makes a difference as well. Tell everyone how old you are. I just turned 30 years old. Imagine her at 60. Oh, my God. I want to get to the root of it. I'm tired of having these creepy frog hands every time I go in water. It's stupid. They don't bother you. No, they don't hurt. They don't itch.
But it's not normal. They don't hurt. They don't itch. They're not causing you any problems in life. They don't affect your personal life. And you're now bathing two seconds and getting out. It's not normal. Skye. Yes, my friend. Sean gave you a really legitimate thing to do. She told you. She believes that she's so saturated in it. That's crazy. That's crazy. It's ridiculous. Oh, because nobody builds up things in their body. Really? You're full of fluoride? Yeah. What are you, a tube of crest? You're full of fluoride. I need to detox. And after I detox... I need to detox from water. I'm done. No, from fluoride. Maybe it's not fluoride. I'm just starting to explore. I can't anymore. It's your girl, dude. I got an idea. What's up, Mike? Why don't you just get a water softening system? Well, you have to buy a special system to pull fluoride out. A water softener doesn't do it. Wait a minute. What? No, you're so...
Wait, I just realized she's pulling me into her craziness. I'm now suggesting. Oh, I know. What am I doing? Like you're buying the fluoride. Yes, I'm like. Yeah, and I don't want to buy. You're making me crazy. I don't want to buy a $500 system to pull fluoride out of my water if that's not the case, you know, because that would just be a waste of money. That's why I'm doing these. Yes, I am cheap. That's why I'm doing these tests. That's why I'm taking these steps. It may not be fluoride. It could maybe be the chlorine. You could have put toothpaste on your hand. P1 Moneymaker. That's really weird. P1 Moneymaker. P1 Moneymaker. Hey, Mikey, how's up? Good. How's up? I want to support Sky because it actually is a true condition. Thank you. Aquafloridifida? Yes. Aquafloridifida. Well said. It's typically caused by people hitting bathhouse, I mean spa, jacuzzi clubs. I was in Los Angeles a couple years ago. I'm at the lily pad. I got a bloated throat. Thank you. I'm able to jump long distances. Remember when everybody agreed to be cool? Pew and Tom.
What about water that's been filtered with a reverse osmosis? It has no fluoride or chlorine. She can just put her hands in a bottle of sparkly. She's saturated in it, sir. It will take me 2.4 months to decompress and detoxify myself. I'm very much like Silkwood. Yes. Now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to have a man come over in like a NASA uniform. Right. And he's going to hold a chlorine fluoride wand in front of me and go up and down my butt. I've marinated in fluoride. I'm over fluoridated. Glad I shared. Hey, wait a second. Here we go. Eddie, didn't you tell me that you used to have skin reactions to chlorine? Yes. why is mine so crazy why am i did it that is not what's crazy about it the fact that you think that it's in your body yeah still is crazy okay so people so people who quit smoking it doesn't take a while to get the nicotine out of their system that you've never heard of that i have i have i have heard that it does take a while chemicals in your body it takes a while to take a drug test it takes a while it takes a while to get pot out of your system it takes a while to get you are absolutely right drugs anything however
Comma. I do think it's... I'm with Eddie. I do think it's kind of strange that you feel that there's still fluoride in your stomach. And only in your hands. No, it's showing the symptoms in my hands. but the symptoms don't hurt you there's nothing wrong with it like it's unsightly give me a break if somebody you loved had something weird on their skin you'd be like oh just live with it it doesn't hurt you if they went to the doctor and the doctor said those exact words to them yes because doctors are never wrong doctors are never lazy they never want you know they don't want to spend money on Extra tests and weird stuff. And lots of doctors are old school. They don't think out of the box. They don't think about allergies and stuff. Wait a second. You told us that you have not only just asked one doctor, you've asked a dermatologist. And the dermatologist told you, in addition to the doctor, that you're okay. Yeah. But no, you're like, no, I'm not. Well, obviously it's not okay. Frog hands when you put your hands in water. No, not normal. Question.
Where could this, worst case scenario, where could this lead? Well, it depends. Death mutation. Death. Yes, death. Oh, you mean the frog hands? Yes. Well, I don't think I'm going to die from it, but it's, you know, it's not something. I could wake up one morning and be ribbiting. Yes. It's not something I enjoy. I like to take baths. I'll become the evil villain, the toad. I like to take baths, and I'm not able to take them right now. Yes, you are. My hands get all funky, creepy. That's it. And who knows what's going on inside? Like, we're seeing the symptoms on the outside, but what's going on inside? Yes, I have frog in it. Worst case scenario, what could be happening? I don't know what could be happening. A high schooler tried to dissect me the other day. That's how bad he's getting. Terrible. My husband wanted to fry my legs. I am noticing some strange things. And they're embarrassing. Like what?
We were at a picnic the other day. I caught a fly with my tongue. That's embarrassing. I don't want to do that. No, don't you check out. No, no. Don't you check out. Come on, Skye. No, no. P1 Joanna. Joanna, are you there? Joanna? Yes. Go ahead. Hey, I was wondering if Skye had tried calling the emergency nurse at Kaiser. I don't have Kaiser anymore, you stupid face. What the heck was that? Holy wow. Wait a second. Hang on a minute. I want to know if anyone listening has Kaiser and maybe we can use you. It's worked before. We can call the advice nurse at Kaiser. It didn't work? What do you call me now?
Space four frog thing. Yes, this is the advice nurse at Kaiser. May I help you? Yes, it's me again. Oh, hi, Sky. I don't even have to say my name. Well, yes, I've started developing a new thing called frog hands. Oh, tell me about it. Yes, well, when I use water, the fluoride is ingested into my system. Oh, no. And I've become into a toad-like creature. Do you have any advice for me? Yes, I do. What would that be? Put urine on it. Okay. Soaking in it. Mike was here. The Mikey Show continues. It's been a tough ride again here this morning because of the fog and the drizzle, but things are easing up a little bit, especially out of the South Bay on this 805 Nosebound. You're looking good. until you get to around Murray Ridge, just coming over Mission Valley. From there, it's pretty much a tough ride up towards Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. Northbound 5 is still finding a heavier ride as well past the airport out of downtown, and that continues up to the Old Town. West on the 94 King Freeway, looking pretty nice, man. Smooth ride out of Lemon Grove, just a minor delay left over into downtown. Your westbound 8, that's starting to break up a bit. Now slow from Fletcher Parkway off and on towards Lake Murray, bunching up again from Waring into the 15, and then again from the 805 to Texas Street. and another minor delay off and on into Hotel Circle. Southbound's out of the 15. That's still a tough one, though, out of Escondido, off to 78, into Rancho Bernardo, then again from Carmel Mountain Ranch down to Mercy Road. The coaster ride, Southbound 5, is quite heavy as well, from La Costa all the way down past the racetrack in Del Mar. And the westbound, 56, a little bit tight still from Rancho Santa Fe Farms through Carmel Valley to the 5 freeway. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. I love football so much. Eddie. I have a very strong sensitivity to...
Sky. I smoked so much school those years. I wish I was smartest so I could fight this better. And Ashley. I am a very, very twitchy person, and I feel like it's because I have ADD. The Mikey Show is on 105.3. Welcome back. It's 845. We're already seeing the effects of the Hollywood writer's strike with Letterman and Leno airing reruns last night. The Patriots-Colts game had the highest-rated Sunday afternoon game in 20 years. Let it go off your shoulder, don't you know? Yeah, some of you remember us mentioning Omar. Omar's a friend of ours from Promotions. And we've all got to know Omar really good. And he hasn't been around the radio station for a while. He just came back to work yesterday. Omar's brother is fighting for his life right now. And Omar's in the studio with us right now.
First day back that you were able to even come back to work was yesterday? Yesterday. Yeah. And Omar, how old are you? I'm 26. How old is your brother? Your brother's name is Esteban. And dude, the first email you wrote to us, it came to all of us here on the show. And I don't know that I have ever read a more touching email in terms of your honesty about how much he means to you and all of that. and just the way that you described your love for him, that he's your best friend and that he's like your biggest companion. And you wrote us this email, and I asked listeners if they could pray for him, if our listeners, if you're the type of person that prays, to pray, and if you're the type of person that likes to give good vibes, to give good vibes. And it was encouraging because we got an email back from you saying that his condition had improved a lot. Now, tell listeners that don't. didn't hear when we talked about this at all tell listeners what's going on with your brother he was diagnosed with leukemia a year ago and um he got a transplant in september to rid him of the leukemia once and for all because he has a chromosome defect and the doctor said even though you're in remission and you're fine you know it's going to relapse and it's going to be much worse so do this now so we did it and uh everything that could have gone wrong did
Starting with little things as mucositis, which is an infection all over the mouth. His whole face blew up. After that, we started with week-long waves of fevers and then nausea and three weeks of diarrhea. This was just pure liquid. He was just flushing out all his meds and everything. Couldn't hold anything. Couldn't hold anything. Then started coming the graft. ...versus host disease, which means the new cells were attacking the body. So they started pumping him with steroids to help control that. And then with so many medication, his liver and his kidneys started failing. And we were working on that forever. And just when we thought it couldn't get worse, not last Friday, but the Friday before that, I was spending the night with him like I always do. And he went into a seizure. And they took him... to the monitored care unit for a few days just to watch him. The Monday following that Friday, they took him back up to his regular care unit, and that night he started complaining about a pain on the right side of his head, and it just wouldn't go away. They gave him morphine after morphine, and then they even gave him Ativan, which is stronger than morphine, and it just didn't do anything, so they took him back to the monitored care unit, and that morning they're like, okay, we've got to check this out, and then it turned out he had a hemorrhage in the brain.
So the blood had gone to his brain, and the thing with his blood is it's so thin, it's not clotting the way it should, and they keep pumping him with platelets, and it's just not doing anything for his blood, so they think that's how it went to his head. I want to let listeners know, because it's tough for anyone. Anybody listening is going to have compassion for Omar. It means even more to us sitting here, because we... have gotten to know Omar, and Omar's just such a good kid. He's just such a good guy. We've taken trips with Omar up to Mammoth, and we've spent time with Omar, and he's just a really good kid. So when you wrote me that email, man, it really broke my heart for what you and your family are going through. Now, your brother had showed some improvement because we got an email from you a couple of days ago with an update, and he had shown some improvement, right? Right. You know, last week, last Tuesday, when I wrote you that email, the doctors pretty much said, no chance, nothing whatsoever, especially with his blood being so thin that he wasn't going to survive the surgery. And he survived it. They said, well, he's at high risk of getting another hemorrhage, hasn't had another one. And from the first day, he showed improvement. You know, started with squeezing our hands to let us know that he's there. And the following days, he started doing a thumbs up.
Saying hi with a thumb. With his right side. His left side was out. When was that improvement? When did that happen? After I reached out to you. Now, here's the thing. We asked listeners to send positive vibes. We asked listeners to pray. And I think it was a really amazing thing. Because I think that listeners did respond to it. And Omar came in this morning. We didn't know this until he came in this morning. But Omar said that his brother... has had a little bit of a slip in terms of his liver. Yeah. You know, where everything was getting better, like, you know, he started opening his eyes and shaking his head. His left side started moving. He's even been attempting to communicate in writing, and we're like, great, everything's cool. And the doctor said, well, that's good, and the kidneys are better, but the liver has gotten worse, and we can't do a transplant because of the blood situation. Right. He has medication that came from Italy that wasn't FDA approved, but our doctors got on the FDA and made them approve it. The problem with using this medication is it thins out the blood. Right. So, again, we can't use it, so we just kind of have to sit there and wait, and he's there with that liver problem right now with fevers again that started three days ago, high blood pressure. Okay. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm just going to ask the same thing that I asked the last time.
I'm going to ask listeners to pray for your brother. His name is Esteban. Is that how you say it? Esteban? Yeah, Esteban. Esteban. I'm going to ask listeners to pray for his brother and pray for a miracle. Yeah, that's what we need. Just pray for a miracle. And if you don't pray, then give the positive vibes. But lift up his brother Esteban. And I'm telling you, It's so powerful, especially if we're talking to so many people right now. There's so many people that are around you in a car right now that listen to the Mikey show as well. You'd be really surprised. It surprises me all the time. So all of those people putting those positive thoughts, miracles do happen. And so I just want to ask listeners if they'll do that for his brother because Omar's a really good guy.
His brother sounds like a really good guy. And I also want to ask you, if you can, to do the same thing for Omar. Because I know that he's going through a lot. I told him off the air right before we went on the air. I said, this just isn't the Omar we're used to seeing. I mean, this is a kid that's always got a smile on his face. Omar is always positive. And right now he's going through such a hard time. And so I said, man, I want to pray for you for just some emotional rest. Because emotionally, he's been up for days and days and days and days. And he's beat up. So listen, man, I know it's tough. I know it's tough for you to talk about and to do all that. But I really do hope that people will do that and rally behind your brother. And I really hope he makes it. And just keep us updated, man, and let us know what's going on with it. And was there anything else that you wanted to add? I just want to say thank you for all your support. Thank all the P1s. Thank everyone on the show. My family was very grateful and deeply moved when I told them that I had reached out to you and what you did. We've got some great listeners, man. It's everybody in the P1 Army. That's who needs to be thanked because it's all of...
all of their efforts of getting together and kind of putting those vibes and saying those prayers. You know what I mean? Yeah, exactly. So anyway, man, let's keep doing that for Omar's brother. His name is Esteban and really lift him up and pray for him and send out those vibes for him. And let's all hope that he gets better. We got some really cool stuff for you coming up. Don't go away. I got a lot more to tell you. We haven't gotten to a ton of audio and we got a lot more entertaining to do. Slash is coming up on the show too. Let it go. Off your shoulder, don't you know? Express Tires, your entire liquidation sale is on right now and all tires must go. Call 1-888-EXP-TIRE. Express Tire, where they work hard to earn your trust. Again, that's 1-888-EXP-TIRE. Navigon is the only GPS device with free lifetime traffic that works out of the box. Well, the community is winding down here. We're seeing some better speeds right now. We've got North 805, still a little bit tough out of Kearney Mesa, though, heading up from the 163 up towards Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. South on 5, still slow and go from La Costa and past the racetrack at Villa de la Playa in Del Mar.
Things are pretty rough as well coming out of Escondido, still on the South 15. Break lights from the 78, then past Via Rancho Parkway, bunches up around Carmel Mountain Ranch. East Conning's looking great, though. The 894, they're back up to speed looking fantastic. And also, oh, yeah, northbound 5. Also, watch for a bit of a delay still into Mission Bay, but very briefly. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show, hello. Mikey, what's up? It's P1 John. How you doing? What's up, John? None much. Look, I switched over to AIS yesterday, and these guys saved me $296 a month in car insurance. And now they dropped it down to practically $150 a month. And I had SR-22 from a DUI. Ooh, and they still did that for you? Absolutely. Nice. See, that's a great thing. I cannot thank you enough. No, that's cool, dude. Don't thank me. Thank AIS, dude. Sometimes people, when they hear me talking about AIS so much... They don't realize that there are real people out there that are saving the dough, and you're one of them. Absolutely. Because AIS is like a broker. Yeah, I didn't even realize that there were a brokerage, so that's where it really surprised me. That's awesome. All right, here's the phone number, 1-800-777-4AIS. That's 1-800-777-4247. Thank you, dude. I appreciate the phone call. Hey, no problem, Mikey. All right, man. We'll see you. Broadcasting from the Cricket Wireless Studios.
That really moved me. It really moved me. Yes. Now, here's something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show. This guy has amphibian hands. When my hands become saturated in water, the palms get like... disgusting. They look like a frog. Like, they're all, like, bumpy and weird, and they don't. So she has frog hands. I am noticing some strange things. Like what? We were at a picnic the other day. I caught a fly with my tongue. That's embarrassing. I don't want to do that. No! Don't you check out! Oh, no! Don't you check out! On, Skye! The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. That's New Chevelle. It's called A Get It. 908.
A California National Guard unit is under investigation after a soldier allegedly took donations meant for fire victims. Another Yankee has jumped ship. Andy Pettit declines a $16 million option. I think this might be interesting. Jerry Seinfeld wanted to know why the chicks on The View call it The View. Oh, no. Because he's out promoting Bee Movie, his new animated film. Cut 14. I want to know why you call the show The View and there's no view. I know. Oh, it's your point of view. You should call it that. The point of view. The point of view. Our point of view. Can I tell you what to call Seinfeld? Can I tell you what to call Seinfeld? I guess it's too late now. You have a hit show on your hands yourself, I think. And you have a hit show that's going on forever, so there we are. No, you're great. No, you're great. No, you're great. You're the best.
No, you are real super successful. You're pretty. No, you're pretty. No, you're handsome. No, you're pretty and handsome. No, you're so talented. Amy Winehouse really scared Snoop Dogg. I don't blame her. No, no, no. It wasn't her look. She's terrifying. Just look at her. Oh, my gosh. She said that she wanted to meet him. The opposite. He wanted to meet her. Oh, he wanted to meet her? Yeah, at the MTV Music Awards in Munich last week. He wanted to meet her. So they take him back to her dressing room. And she's throwing a tantrum when they walk in. She's in the middle of a full on tantrum. So Snoop is like standing at the door thinking he's about to go in and meet Amy Winehouse. She's in there throwing food at the walls.
Basically throwing anything that is not nailed down. She takes a knife and starts cutting the carpet with a knife. And they said at that point, that's when Snoop was like, I'm good. I guess I don't really want to meet her that bad. Imagine what it takes to scare Snoop Dogg. Seriously. To freak out Snoop Dogg. Yeah. Crazy. I watched Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares from the BBC. That show. I really liked it. It's really good. I can totally see why it wouldn't work here. Because it's too smart. It's too intelligent. It's too documentary style. You have to have music and much more screaming and stuff like that if it's going to work in America. I imagine Brits must think we're so lame. When they see the Kitchen Nightmares from Fox, they must think that is so lame. It is.
That's so over the top and so weird. Well, yeah. Rihanna is dating Josh Hartnett. I don't know what either one of them look like. What? Josh Hartnett? I know Rihanna's music, but I don't know what she looks like. Are you kidding? Couldn't pick her out of a lineup. She's pretty hot. Josh Hartnett? Yeah, she's hot. Couldn't pick him out of a lineup. No, he's like a young, hip guy. He's pretty hot. I mean... Yeah, people call him Josh Hartnett. because he's so hot. Really? Don't watch Pearl Harbor every day? I do not. Oh, I know. Is he the guy that was in 30 Days of Night? 40 Days and 40 Nights. He was in 40 Days and 40 Nights and 30 Days of Night? Yes. Wow. He really likes movies with the word night in it. Yeah, with numbers. Yes. Was he in Boogie Nights? No. He didn't have a number. No number. Sky has just sent me a link. Send me the link. And I'm going to look at them now. They're a very handsome couple. She looks like someone. Like Rihanna. It's the haircut, huh? Her face reminds me of somebody. They could be related. She looks like she could be Ahmad Rashad's daughter. She does.
Wow. So Rihanna says, quote, I've fallen for him big time. I would be lying if I said we were not more than just friends. He is so hot and he is really sweet to me. When we hang out, it feels right, even though it's still pretty new. I just hope this isn't all too good to be true. In sporting news, Larry Johnson's hurt again. Yeah, he injured his foot and they're saying he's probably going to miss this week's game. A lot of people that picked him first in their fantasy football must be stoked. First pick for a lot of people. Well, you know, you look at what happened with the first-round running backs in fantasy football, and it's crazy. I mean, you go down the list from Steven Jackson, Larry Johnson, Rudy Johnson, Lawrence Maroney, Frank Gore. I mean, every one of those guys has been hurt this year. I mean, it's brilliant.
Brutal. But if you picked late in fantasy football and you decided to take a chance on Adrian Peterson, you did pretty good. Very happy. David Carr has a concussion. Yeah. I mean, talk about a bad situation in Carolina. Benitez Verde's hurt. I mean, he's already 52 years old. And he's hurt. David Carr is now hurt. So they're now down. To a undrafted rookie free agent quarterback. Wow. That's all that was available? That's all they have. Oh my gosh. There wasn't anybody out there that they could get? Guess not. Oh my gosh. That's crazy. They should have called Steve Young and been like, hey, check it out. One game. One game, dude. Come on, dude. Dude, how awesome would it be if somebody like... somebody like Steve Young said, you know what? I'm going to do it. One game. How exciting would that be? That would be the best. Dude, if Steve Young came back for a game, that'd be the most exciting thing in the world to me. I would really be into it. Jay Cutler hurt his leg. Yeah, they thought he broke it, but x-ray shows there was no fracture. He's probably not going to play this week, but still has a pretty bad bone bruise.
I don't know if you saw it, but I was flipping around the NFL Sunday ticket package, which your husband has, right, Skye? Did he hear about the high definition thing? Did he get it? Well, I don't know because he said that a lot of the games he already gets in HD. And I said, well, are you talking about the ones like on the network or are you talking about the ones that are part of the package? And he said part of the package. You can't. It is not possible. Why is it not possible? Because they make you pay for it. They'll give it to you, but they make you pay. They don't give you anything free. It's impossible! They give you every single game in standard definition if you have NFL Sunday ticket. But if a game is broadcast in high definition, they will not give it to you. And so the fact that I requested a high def receiver, they wouldn't automatically tack it on without... You gotta pay for it. It's not very much. It's like a million dollars. He didn't want to do it. You're saying he didn't want to do it. Well, I think he thinks he already gets it. He doesn't. So I'm like, cool. Congrats. Mr. Sky. Oh, you're awful. What? Why? It's fine. Mr. Sky, if you're listening, the way that you know you're getting them, they appear on channel 719 and higher. So different channels. Yeah, all the standard definition games are on channel 700 through about 711. And if you're into 720s, you're at high definition. And they are great.
But I was watching the Oakland-Houston game because I had Lamont Jordan on my fantasy football and I had Amon Green from the Texans on my fantasy football. And I saw the Duntha Robinson injury. Did you see it? I haven't seen it, but I read it. What's his name? Duntha Robinson. They wouldn't show from a particular angle. They said they couldn't show it. Because it was just too gross? It was too gross. Oh my gosh. But the angle that I saw... And when they show it in high definition in that super slow-mo, I'm telling you, Rebecca was watching it. Rebecca was watching it. And at the very point where you see in slow motion what is naturally through gravity going to occur, she turned around and walked out of the room. I do the same thing. That's freaky, man. It was from the angle that they show. It's one of those deals where you don't actually see it, but you know what was beginning to happen. It was this big, giant guy's body beginning to fall on a foot that is already sitting on its side in the grass. It's already on its side, okay? And all of this person's weight is coming down on the leg, which is... Okay, so what I want you to picture is... This is what you have to picture in order to get this.
he'd already had his foot laying on its side and his actual leg was still pointing straight up. So without any weight on it, it probably was not good anyway. It probably hurt. It probably hyperextended anyway because it was... Because it's not supposed to go that way. It's not supposed to go that way. So it already looks like it hurts. That's before the 250 pound guy laid on top of it. And they were saying on TV, and the guy, I don't know who was calling the game, but you know it's bad when he's having a hard time, but he goes, we can't show you the angle that we just saw. We can't show you the angle that we just saw. We just can't show it. But we will show you from this angle. And it was disturbing. Well, do you want to know what happened to him? Yes. He not only has a torn ACL, which is one of the worst injuries he can have in football, but his hamstring was ripped completely off the bone. Shut your mouth! I didn't even know that was possible. Oh, it is. It is, and it was. Oh, my gosh. Did you see it, Eddie? No. Dude, it's gnarly. It's gnarly. Sounds bad. Oh, yeah. I mean, you don't wish it upon anybody.
It looks so graphic. Sky has new releases. Oh, we got a break. Hey, Sam, we got a break. All right, let's do this. We'll take a break. When we come back, Sky will have new releases. Time to recover. Here's one for you. Dancing with the Stars. You guys know this show, Dancing with the Stars? Mm-hmm. You know how every year, like, a couple cheats? What do you mean? Well, you know how every year somebody goes into Dancing with the Stars married? And by the end of it, they're not made. That kind of cheating. Yeah, because they end up falling in love with their... Okay. Yeah. Well, it's not a case of cheating, but yet another couple is hooking up on Dancing with the Stars. Wow. Another couple. Every season, right? Oh, yeah. Has there been a season yet where somebody has not hooked up? I don't think so. Not that I can remember. And this is season three or four? Four. Is it four? Yes. So your season four hookup after this.

The ride has improved quite a bit, but still some new things now to be aware of. There is a traffic advisory in effect. There's a bad accident on Genesee Avenue.
You're sitting just east of the 163, and that's causing traffic on the south, 163 especially, to back up off the freeway, trying to get off on that Genesee Avenue exit, so you're being advised to avoid it as you possibly can. Also, on the Coronado Bay Bridge, as you head into Coronado, I know your big rig fire has the two right lanes blocked near the old Toll Plaza. Fire crews in the scene there, though it is out right now, but it is causing a bit of a backup. Heading down that coastline, southbound 5, still finding brake lights here out of Lucadia, pretty solid down towards the racetrack in Del Mar. South 15 remains very tough as well. Coming out of Escondido, still up to 78, down into Rancho Bernardo, then again around Carmel Mountain Ranch. Don Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I'm 37 years old. I'm a Gemini. I shave my head bald. I'm atrocious to look at, and I have a good sense of humor. Eddie. I hate anything that takes effort. Sky. I'm sorry I talk like an old human. I'm sorry, I apologize. I was sad. Sean. The sky's right. Eat it. Boston Rob. I got Boston on my mind. And on your throat. And Ashley. I despise theme parties. They make me really uncomfortable and I hate them. The Mikey Show's on Rock 105.3. I didn't hear what you were saying. I live on all emotion, baby. I answer questions never maybe. I'm not kind if you
I wonder if that's wrong to say. If it's wrong to point out that with twins, there's generally one that's cuter than the other, even if they're identical. Like the Olsen twins, I think that clearly one is the better looking of the two. And it is Ashley. Ashley Olsen is the cuter of the two. I think you're right. Mary Kate is the one that was kind of... Whacked. Yeah. Guess 9-27. The San Diego City Council passed a one-year ban on booze at all city beaches and nearby parks. Ben Roethlisberger threw for five touchdowns in the first half as Pittsburgh beat Baltimore 38-7. My reason it came up is because I was asking Sky who's better looking, Rondé Barber or Tiki Barber. Rondé's on the right. He's the more rugged looking of the two. Tiki Barber's on the left, and he is the more suave.
of the two? Identical twins. Yeah. I mean, they're pretty darn identical. You know, sometimes with twins, they're like our little features that... But I go for the more rugged look in this case. Really? Yeah. So you're more of a Rondé fan. I guess so. My wife asked me a question that sounded silly and I have no idea the answer. She said, do identical twins share DNA? Share DNA? Yeah. I think they... Have the same DNA? believe so like i don't know because i read it in like uh you know a mystery novel so maybe they were making it up i think i saw something on like a 48 hour mystery but but yeah but they say you know like this is your dna unless you have a you know identical twin running around out there that you don't know about right so i think it's yeah the same can you imagine getting busted for a crime your brother commit i think that's what i saw oh and originally they thought that it was john that had committed the crime until they
Looked a little further into it and discovered that, in fact, it was Paul. Only it was hard to tell because they shared the same DNA. So, wait, it was Pope John Paul? Yep. It turned out Pope John Paul didn't be there that night. This is crazy. Shocking. Shocking and, uh, inspiring. And jaw-dropping. Wow. Just got an instant message from Zeph that said he just did some research and identical twins have the same DNA. Wow. We're waiting to talk to Slash. Who are the two people in Dancing with the Stars hooking up? Sabrina Bryan and her dancing partner, Mark Ballas. Sabrina was a cheetah girl, Disney's Cheetah Girls, and has admitted now that she's kicked off the show that she absolutely...
Absolutely loves and adores Mark, and they are now dating. So the person that's commenting on it is the dancer or the star? The star, the celebrity. What's she on? Disney's Cheetah Girls. You just said that, right? Yeah. But, you know, Mario Lopez, you know, hooked up with his dancing partner. Right. And they actually now live together. Whoa, no way. Yeah. Wow. Christy Swanson hooked up with a married guy. That was the ice skating one. Skating with celebrities or whatever the heck they called that. Oh, yeah, that's right. And there was rumors about Apollo Anton Ono and his dancing partner. When did it cease being Apollo Ono? Because I remember him as Apollo Ono, and now it's always Apollo Anton Ono. See, I've always heard it the first way, and then now I'm hearing just Apollo Ono. Oh, really? Yeah. That's weird. Because when he was in the Olympics, it was always Apollo Anton Ono. Really? You had to say it like that. For whatever reason, I remember him as Apollo Ono. Huh. I didn't know about Anton. Easily, it's the most recognizable riff in rock music. Slash is on the line.
Slash, how are you? Who was that girl on the phone? She's got the cutest voice I've ever heard. Our assistant producer, she's a beautiful girl. She's a 24-year-old girl. She's really pretty. Oh, really? Awesome. Thanks, Slash. Hey, so what's happening? Not too much. Slash has a new book out, and it's in bookstores right now. What's the name of the book, Slash? It's really just Slash, but there's sort of a title that says it seems exceptional. but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Oh, wow. Recognized, yeah. I really want to ask you about the book and I want to find out how the book came up, what kind of stuff you wrote about in the book, if I can, for a second. Well, the reason I did the book in the first place was only because there's been so much attention surrounding Guns N' Roses and why it broke up and if it's getting back together and the relationship between Axel and I that I really felt necessary. It's always tough to ask somebody questions about things that are in the book because you don't want to give away the big secrets in the book. But my question is whether or not things are good or things are bad between you and Axel. We'll have to read the book to find out.
Has Axl at any point consulted, given a heads up, hey bro, I'm going to write a book and I'm going to talk about everything? I didn't tell anybody that I was writing a book. That's cool. Anybody knew about it before it came out because they put it on their calendar. That was probably a few months before. There hasn't been any interaction, or not interaction, but nobody's really asked me about it. I'm assuming when you say that, I would think that one of the things you would be talking about is the very infamous not getting on stage, being late to get on stage, that kind of stuff? Slash, are you...
Is there a particular revelation in the book that people seem to be talking about or no? Dude, dude, you just reminded me of something, Slash. I swear to you, when I tell you this, you're going to think I'm kidding, but I'm not. When you just said that, you just reminded me, I know a guy. He's a good friend of mine. And he claims that he is the guy that got blamed for that. He was the guy that got blamed for it? For the incident. Why? I don't know there was anybody else to blame except for myself. A couple of imaginary people. Let me tell you. I don't want to say who he is because the person that I'm talking about is kind of a celebrity.
is kind of a celebrity himself. But he was telling me this story and he said that it happened and that the people in charge were told that it was his fault. And he said that it's so many years ago. He said it happened so many years ago. What is that? Yeah, I'm here. The jet just went over. Oh, wow. But anyway, he said that it happened so many years ago. that you know it's kind of like whatever and he even said that he recently saw you and that he he can't bring it up like he doesn't want to bring it up because he doesn't want there to be a weird vibe i don't know i don't know what the details outside of my own experience were so other than the fact that i didn't end up in prison as a result i don't know exactly what was behind the scenes or who this guy is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you want, I can tell you off the air because I just don't want to, I don't want to say on the air because... I got you. I can't talk to you about it after this only because I have to go on to another thing. That's all right. It's cool. It sounds interesting. It is, man. I'll find out from you at some point. I'm sure we'll cross paths at some point in the not-too-distant future. Absolutely.
Okay, Slash, I don't have a lot of time with you, but I do want to talk to you about, first of all, I want to get to Velvet Revolver, and I also want to ask you about Guitar Hero, because that's a big deal with the music and everything. But if I can, I want to ask you about the genesis of this song. Where did that riff come from? I remember I wrote it on acoustic guitar, believe it or not, and that was one of the first songs that I... How did you get that effect with the guitar? I mean, I did it with one of those little boxes, one of the old ones back in the day, and that was all it was. What is the state of Velvet Revolver? We're on tour. I'm actually taking a break. We're going to Pan this month. You're on the commercials for Guitar Hero. Uh-huh. Do you like the game? Do you play the game yourself? Uh-huh. The way that all happened was I got hooked on Guitar Hero 2, and I got this phone call asking me if I wanted to be involved in Guitar Hero 3. So I'm actually on the box, and I wrote the intro music for the game, and the guitarist actually has my keyboard in the game. That's awesome. Slash, who do you think the best guitarist of all time is? There's so many great guitar players that span a lot of different types back in this. There you go. Hey, listen. Slash's new book is out. It's called Slash, and it's...
Explains everything. All the questions you wanted to know are in the book. Thank you, Slash. I appreciate you taking the time. Okay, man. We'll see you. He's so cool. Yeah, man. He is such a nice person. Yeah, just down to earth and chill. He really is a nice person. You got time if you want to do the new releases that I know you wanted to get. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I do. What's out today? Okay. Come on, Skoy. Thank you. Even Ashley's heart's not in it anymore. What? New video games out today. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare for Xbox 360. Question, Sean. Question, Sean. Yes. Is this like the World War II Call of Duty only futuristic? I couldn't get it from the commercial. That's what it looked like. Call of Duty is like World War II, right? Exactly. So this looked like it was present day Call of Duty.
From what I saw on the commercials, that's the way it looks to me. I haven't read anything about it, though. It says, the Call of Duty series leaves its familiar World War II battlefield behind to tackle warfare in a modern setting. Wow. Yes. I've played Call of Duty. I spent approximately seven minutes with it. Wow, all that time? Turned it off, and I've never turned it back on again. Oh, why? Because I was trying to, you know, like get out of a room. I'm walking into a brick wall. I'm like, how do I get out of here? And I got so angry and I was like, and I'm just trying stuff. I'm like shooting the wall. I can't get out of the stupid room. I'm like, this sucks. Like, how do people do this? Like every time you get a new game, you should probably just get Eddie to come over and show you how to do it the first time. You should just stick to playing. on your Wii. It's more like your level, I think. Oh, sorry. That was not cool. And you're like, wait, you know, it's easier for you to do it. Thanks, Ash. Okay, also out today. My pleasure. Fire Emblem, Radiant Dawn for the Wii. Oh, Mikey! Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games for the Wii. Oh, yay! The Simpsons game for the PSP. Nope, too hard for you.
Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga for the Wii. Xbox 360. PS3. He probably beat me. Bladestorm The Hundred Years War for Xbox 360 and PS3. Power Rangers Super Legends for PS2. Silent Hill Origins PSP and Fear Files for the Xbox 360. All of my neighbors are grown up. Like I wish that I had, because I don't want a kid to teach me. It would be humiliating to me. But like none of the guys that live in my neighborhood, I don't think are into video games. Whoa. And so I need somebody to sit there next to me and show me what to do. And then I'll be fine. Like once I know how to do it. Yeah, you just need one time. I just need to figure it out. Yeah. And then I'll, you know, improve by doing it. Yeah, they'll show you how to get out of a room. It can be tricky. Stop shooting that chair. Unless you're playing on the Wii. Seriously, I was shooting chairs. I was like, hey, maybe you'd shoot the chair, the door opens. But I'm like walking into the door and nothing's happening. All right. New CDs out today. We have Jay-Z with American Gangster out today. He's good, right? Yeah.
Let me play one of his songs. Jay-Z. Jay-Z? Here is Can't Give It To Me Baby. What? Oh, that's Duff Leppard. No, it's not Duff Leppard. That's Winger. That's good, man. Is that off his new CD? I don't know. What was it called? Can't Give It To Me Baby. That's a Scratch and Stuff matchup. Oh, is it really? That's a mashup. It says Jay-Z here. Yeah. I didn't know. Well, this one can't be. This is Big Pimpy. Oh, yeah. Big Pimpy. So hot. So kick off all your clothes. I picture rims spinning. That's awesome. All right. Also out today, we have the new one from Angels and Airwaves called I Empire.
It's out today. It's their second album. The singer from Blink, a guy from Offspring, a guy from 30 Seconds to Mars. Somewhere right now, a guy with black mascara on and tattoos perked up. Or Bobby Kernels. Let me describe the guy. He has real spiky hair. It's black. His hair is dyed black. He has very pale skin. He has piercing in his eyebrow. He has tattoos all over his arms. And he's wearing like a t-shirt with a necktie. You see it? He's got that wallet chain? Yep. Oh, yeah. You can't forget that. On very, very, very, very, very, very, very old black jeans. Don't forget the Vans. Yes, and Vans. Yep. This guy sounds cool. Yep. Cool. He's cool, but he's very... Is that for makeup or...? Yeah, I think it's just from not going outside a lot. Just staying inside and listening to angels and airwaves on the stereo real loud. Very cool. Oh, wait. Who just brought up that picture? I didn't. Yeah, Zeth just got a picture of him. Of the band? Yeah. This is the guy I was describing. Oh, there he is. Oh, wait. That's the lead singer of My Chemical Romance. Oh, well. Okay, there it is. That's scary. But that's what I had in mind when I was describing it. I was like, I've seen that guy a million times. Yeah.
All right. Also today, Chris Brown with Exclusive. He's a running back for the Tennessee Titans. Yeah, he's really good. He's good. No, I mean. It's crazy. Wow, he's expanding. I had him in fantasy football, but I dropped him earlier in the season. Really? I heard Lendale White has a new mashup. Really? Is that right? Lendale White? That's what I heard. Gets a lot of carries and. Makes some great rap records. He's a singer. Yeah, and he's got some big names on his album, too. A song features T-Pain. A song features Will.i.am. A song features Gain. What about the one featuring Bill Belichick? Yeah, what about that one? Here's a sample of that new album. But some has some way to keep coming up. Guys, come on. It's not very good. May I kick a little something with the Drews? Yeah. Chris Brown is his brand new song Kiss Kiss which is the number one iTunes song right now. That's the song that my Chris who I went on a date with danced.
To me. He danced to that song. Man, I am really glad you let us know that. That is really good stuff. That is compelling radio. Stop it. What are you talking about? I think they meant the part about your date dance. Really? You had to explain that one to her, huh? Well, I mean, she obviously did. Mike, how did this thing not take it? Can my dad not be laughing right now? Hello? Shut up. And then finally new out on CCU today. Give me the visual. We have Garth Brooks. A visual of your date? No, a visual of the song. A visual of your date. Of the song. Of people enjoying the song. Okay, so in other words, we were like, this was listeners. They were driving in their car and they were like, Chris Brown, Chris Brown, who, I know, I think, and then she said,
her date dance to it and they were like oh that chris brown i needed the visual i needed the visual of ashley's date to get that that now i know perfectly clear oh chris brown gotcha oh i'm just saying it's a good song i would not have known maybe they'll run into him like they'll run into your date at the mall and they'll be like dude dude dude Aren't you the guy that danced to the Chris Brown record? You're the Chris Brown guy. Hey, hey, hey. If I give my friend my cell phone, can I take a picture with you? Sorry, Ash. You're Ashley's date. Hey, dude. I don't know you, but will you take a picture of my cell phone with Ashley's date? He danced to Chris Brown, bro. All right. He's the Chris Brown guy. Will you record my outgoing message? Hi, this is Ashley. Stop it. This is Ashley's date. I danced to Chris Brown. And Ashley's not here right now, but if you leave a message.
She'll call you back as soon as she gets it. Chris Brown rules, bro. You guys are the worst. Finally, we have Garth Brooks, The Ultimate Hit. It's a two-disc best of if you're into that. Enjoy. New DVDs out today. Sky? Just be cool. I'm always cool, dude. We're not always cool, dude. We have Ratatouille out today. It's a big hit. My brother. Well, he always says this about animated films, but he says, every time he says it's different. Every time he tells me, I say, Mark, I don't know. I don't want to watch it. And every time he says, and I'm like, I'm telling you, this one's different. Especially you, because you're into cooking and you're foodie. Always an angle. But my brother bothered me to watch this scene from Happy Feet. And he... He would call me, and every time he would call me, and he was serious. You know how some people would do a bit where they would ask you every time, have you watched it yet? It wasn't like that, you guys. Mark was not kidding. He goes, hey, have you had a chance to watch that scene that I told you about from Happy Feet? And I honestly would have to go, oh, no, I haven't done that yet, Mark, but I'll check it out. He goes, oh, it's really good, Mike. It's really funny. Worst movie ever. And so he would always ask me, and I never did.
And so he came to town and I'm not kidding you. He came to town and he was in my home for, I'm going to say, and this is real time. This isn't an exaggeration. Four minutes. And he said, and he said, hey, I brought, not with a smile, not like, he goes, hey, I brought happy feet. Can I show you that scene? And now I'm like, no, now I'm not, I'm not going to. That's crazy. Now I'm irritated. Oh, whoa. And so I go, yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll get to it. We'll get to it. I watched your scene for Magnolia. And I purposefully would not get to it. So finally, finally, I feel bad. Like he's made me feel bad to the point where, okay, I'll put it in. So I put in Happy Feet. And it's the scene where they sing the Queen song, Want Somebody to Love.
And he's got this smile the whole time the scene's on. He's got this smile. And when the song ends, he looks at me like, right? Right? Now you get it, right, Mike? I mean, is this the first time he's ever met you? Does he not know you? And now he's on me about this ratatouille. He says, I gotta see this ratatouille, and it's really great. Out on DVD today, Mike. There you go. There it is. I cannot wait. Also out on DVD today, we have I Now Pronounce You, Chuck and Larry, Adam Sandler, Kevin James. They're gay, pretending, they're straight, pretending to be gay. To get benefits, yeah. I liked it better when it was called Three's Company. Okay. Also out today, we have the documentary Sicko, Michael Moore. Oh, nice. About the insurance companies in America. Will you get it, Sean? Good question. Yeah, I think I will. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What did you have to think about? Well, I was thinking about, is it a movie that I will watch over and over? But then I realized that that money will go to Michael Moore, which is a good thing, so I will purchase it. Is that a good thing? He wants him to be financed and able to make more movies. Yeah, I want him to make more. What do you watch over and over again? Man, like all my tracks, obviously. All my Columbo stuff.
Like Chronicles of Riddick movies. Oh, those are great. I do that too. Doom. The wife, the cook. I have Doom. I've watched it a couple times. His life and his brother. I watch it every year. It's not that. It's the wife, the cook, his wife, and Jay Cutler. No, Jay Cutler. You guys are idiots. The cook, the thief, his wife, and his brother. The wife and his butter. And I can't believe it's not butter. That's what it was. It's the wife, the cook, and I can't believe it's not butter. Shut up. Okay, also today we have the Pixar Short Films Collection. Shut up, Eddie. Eddie, shut up. Oh, my God, look at that. Shut up. Darring Fabio. All right, the Pixar Short Film Collection, Volume 1 out today. America's Game Super Bowl out today. They say this is for the ultimate football fan. It's a 40-disc... set. Oh, man. Yeah. An hour-long documentary on every one of the 40 Super Bowls to date. I have that. An hour-long documentary on every Super Bowl? It's like a billion DVDs. Really? Yeah.
Yeah, they say NFL stars offer their insight. Why is Sky saying it's out today? Including Joe Namath, Bubba Smith, John Elway, Brett Barr. Why is he ignoring all three of us? I don't know. Why is Sky ignoring us? I don't know. I'll double check it, but it's on the list of things out today. But maybe they updated it. Maybe they put the new game in. Do you have 40? Does it have all 40? Yeah. Do you know that for a fact? No. No, I'm really on the fence about this one, Ash. I really am. You know there's exactly 40. When did you purchase it? She's really got a set of rocks on her wings when that dad is behind her. When that dad is behind her, she knows he'll left behind me right in the face. Oh, yeah, because when he's not here, I don't ever come at you. She knows he'll left behind me right in the head. Totally. Yes, I have it. It's called... Yeah, it's all the Super Bowls. It's like an hour-long special on every Super Bowl. Way to go, Sky. I don't know. According to Amazon.com, it's out today. I wonder what the difference... Maybe they added something. Yeah, they said it came out November 6, 2007. We'll finish up right after this. Mikey, Mikey. You are listening to The Mikey on Rock 105.3. I just picked up my new Nissan Altima from Mossy Nissan, and the girls and I decided it was time for a little road trip. Vegas, here we come. So we're cruising the strip, right? Windows down, base pumping.
And as we roll up to the light, I look to my left and see what had to be the hottest guy in Vegas. So I give my Altima's powerful engine a little red. Best to let him know I'm there. And he turns his head my way, smiles, and says, Hey ladies, why don't you pull over and hop in my ride? Hop in his ride? Yeah, I don't think so. Nobody tells an Altima girl to get out of the driver's seat. Step out of the ordinary with a new Altima sedan from Massey Nissan. Altima has style. Got to tell you about Robbins Brothers. It's the world's biggest engagement ring store. It's located in Mission Valley on the corner of Friars Road and for Z. And I got to tell you, you got to go in there. I bought my engagement ring there. For my now wife, and we loved it so much, we went back and got our wedding rings there. And now they got this MSID, the patented diamond, which is awesome because it's this special, magical diamond. Oh, magic. That looks bigger and bright. It appears bigger and brighter than round diamonds of the same weight. Oh. So you're getting more for your bank for your buck. Yeah, it's a no-brainer, right, Eddie? Well, I would think so. I would think so. I mean, I know the gals like the big rocks, you know.
And so you can hook it up. You just ask for the MSID diamond, and it measures 8% to 14% bigger in diameter. I mean, you can compare it to other diamonds. They'll break it out for you and show you. Awesome. It's pretty sweet. For more information, you can call 1-800-610-RING, R-I-N-G, or visit robinsbrothers.com. I say GEICO could save you hundreds of dollars on car insurance. Charles Walter reporting from Puerto Nuevo, Mexico, where Rubio's enchiladas and the tantalizing sauce that made them famous are the talk of the town. Here, where Ralph Rubio first discovered Baja's fish tacos, the townspeople will celebrate the return of enchiladas to the Rubio's menu with the first ever enchilada regatta, a parade of tanker-sized enchiladas that will sail north, spreading the enchilada gospel. Ricardo Salinas will captain a 400-foot carnitas enchilada. Ahoy! Rubio's enchiladas are stuffed with char-grilled chicken, slow-roasted carnitas, or jack-and-cheddar cheeses. K-O-Z. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. It's K-O-Z San Diego. And hit it. Or don't hit it. Yeah, don't hit it. Wait, wait, wait. I got it. It's like in Lord of the Rings when you have to get the thing just perfect for the door to open. Right. You gotta pick, like, the thing until it, you know, so it'll happen. Right. Exactly. Or read it. Have a seat, Fish. Uh-oh. Yeah. Uh-oh. He didn't do anything. Swim it up. Swim it up. Swim it up. Filet him. Like a fish. I don't want to. I just want him to join in. I want him to sit in and hang out. Fish. No, you don't. You always have a motive. I swear to you, I don't. You always have a motive. I swear I don't. Fishy, fishy, fish. I don't have a motive. I'm fat. Budweiser is filling in today. Hey, Sean. Budweiser is filling in today for Missy. She's out sick and so Bud is in. Are you going to make it? When you go jogging, do you leave potholes? Oh, there it is. Sean. At the zoo, do elephants throw you peanuts? So the thing is, is that...
It'll be on from... Now, will you do the afternoon show as well? Yeah. Or do you get that off? No. No. Why would... No. Why would Shauna let that happen? It's a double shot of Budweiser. Shauna is going to work you from 10 in the morning to 6 at night? I don't mind. Or 7? Utterly horrendous. It's not... I mean... What time does that shift end? 7? 7, yeah. What time does BC fall asleep? 6? Why? More like 4.30, 5 o'clock. You're going to work from 10 to 7? What time does Jeopardy start? Well, dude, it's not like we have to go watch Jeopardy. Rock 105.3. Got to watch my stories. Oh, that's great. Yes. Okay, so anyway, Scott, wrap up the new releases out today. Okay, so we did find through research that the America's Game Super Bowl 40 discs is new out today. Okay, TV shows to DVD. I wonder what's new about it. She was so condescending, right? Of course. It's so passive. Well, no. She had to bring it back up. Screw you, Mike. Yeah, yeah. Well, because Mike told the listeners it wasn't a new, and it is new. Right, so you have to prove it wrong. I know. It is new. I have to give accurate information. That's what I'm all about. Yeah. Anyway. Please. TV shows. I already have it.
I sent you the link. Maybe you got an advance copy. What is she talking about? Well, I sent you the link, and I said, Mike, is this what you have? And you said, oh, no, it's actually not. I thought the link you sent me was Kate Moss' ex-boyfriend. That's what I was looking at. Shut up. He doesn't have that. Just admit when you're wrong. No, no, no. It's not that. It's that I really... And I said this to you when we were on before. I wonder what's different about it. I really do have the same product but packaged differently. Right. So they must have added something to it or... Maybe like this year's Super Bowl. I don't know. That hasn't happened yet? That's awesome. Who plays? Seriously. Still the Patriots. Dang it. Well, no, the 2007 Super Bowl. Didn't that already happen? Yeah, but that would be for the 2006 season. Oh, well, that's odd. Anyway. TV shows to DVD, Seinfeld, The Complete Series, Seinfeld Season 9, The Best of the Colbert Report, Wings Fifth Season, Cosby Show Season 5, Season 6, Project Runway Season 3, Martin Season 3, The X-Files, The Ultimate Collection, The King of Queens, The Complete Series, Doctor Who, The Third Season, and Full House, The Eighth Season. Enjoy. There are so many TV shows that are out. I'm surprised they're able to fit them in stores.
How do you just brush over wings season five? My bad. Sorry. Let me not take time to play audio from the fourth disc. So good. There's a study out that says mixing booze with energy drinks increases risks. Of what? They say higher risk for alcohol-related injuries. You are twice as likely. Higher risk for? Flooding your apartment. Oh, no. Losing your purse. Higher risk of losing your camera if you mix the energy drinks with booze. Higher risk of attacking a... What does that have to do with anything? Attacking a car with an umbrella. Shaving your head. Marrying your backup dancer. There's a risk of that if you drink the Red Bull and booze. Dead for game. Well, twice as likely to require medical attention, twice as likely to ride with a drunk driver, twice as likely to take advantage. What does that have to do with anything? Put it on the board. Put it on the board. Yeah, put that one on the board, Scott. What does that have to do with anything? I will not put it on the board. Put it up there. Come on. Twice as likely to lose your bra, twice as likely to... Not have a bra. What else are you twice as likely to do? I don't know, Mike. What? I don't know. I'm still thinking.
Give me a second. Okay. Twice as likely to not be accountable at work. Oh, wow. Brutal. She doesn't drink anymore. Who are we even talking about? Why are we so upset? Why is everybody getting mad like it's one person? This is a list. It's just a list. But the things you guys mentioned aren't on the list. I don't know. We were guessing. You guys are wrong. Those things aren't on. Twice as likely to make your co-workers cry. What was that? Who just talked? Who was that? You guys know she made me cry. Twice? Now he takes offense. At least. I hate you guys. What was she mad at you about? I don't remember. I don't either. That's a lie. He doesn't remember. Without a doubt, he doesn't remember. He used to sit there and say, I don't remember. I really don't. What was this guy? He had messed up something, and then Ashley said to him, she would have to start taking away some of his responsibilities. I just told him he could find someone else to teach him. Oh! I am the bad.
It's so mean. She said she's going to neuter me so I couldn't reproduce. All because of Red Bull vodka. Higher risk. In Ohio, some photos of topless cheerleaders have led to... Send me the link. ...have led to some adults being fired. Yeah, a cheerleading coach and an assistant football coach have both been fired from this high school in Ohio. I guess the picture showed up. You're fired. Send me the link. And what had happened, the assistant football coach hosted the party. And then they say the cheerleading coach gave alcohol to this one freshman at the party. And the cheerleading coach also took the topless photo with the cheerleader. And then it ended up on the internet. How dumb is he? It's a she. It's a she. Well, the football coach is a guy. The cheerleading coach is a girl.
That's because you have big jugs. Would the cheerleading coach get in trouble for that if she's a girl? They've both been fired. Oh, okay. So she can't do that. Why? She's a girl. Why can't she do that? Oh, the alcohol part, right? Well, she's in the picture with the freshman cheerleader who's also topless. And probably a minor. Yeah, I guess it can't be topless. Well, I don't know. It's just the whole girl thing. Like, if they're all girls, like, I never thought it was, like, a big deal. Like, I thought that, you know. But, I mean, this person's an official, a school official, and a school official shouldn't be getting naked and taking pictures with me. Then I have some stuff I need to report about in my senior year. Oh, no. Okay, wait. So they're still trying to figure out what kind of discipline should be taken against the student. The hot young tail. Coaches at Gilroy High were just the meanest, like, bullies. The coaches. I remember Bob Campa was a football coach. And when I was in football, and I never say when I played football my freshman year, but when I was in football my freshman year, I remember thinking it was really cool that he had played for the Buffalo Bills and the Denver Broncos.
So I asked him questions about it and he was like all indignant, like didn't want to answer any questions. How dare you? I was like 14. I was like, wow. It's like he's Brad Pitt and you're trying to ask him about Jennifer Aniston. Yeah. Seriously, that's the way he was reacting. Like, why are you asking me about this? Like, get out of my face. Anyway, so they've both been fired. Yeah. This is kind of interesting. Sarah Jessica Parker, she found out that she was on the Maxim Magazine list of the unsexiest women. And she says she doesn't care. I don't believe her. Well, I knew you were going to say that. I believe she cares. How can you not care? Who cares? It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter if you know you're absolutely unsexy. I know I'm not unsexy, but I don't want to end up on some list about it. It hurt your feelings. Yeah, so you're going to have a field day with what she says. She says, I believe in the old sticks and stones philosophy, so frankly, their words don't come close to hurting me, and it does not bother me.
The least, if people don't think I'm sexy, I don't think I am either. Names break my bones. Yeah, they kind of... Well, they fracture mine. They don't actually break them, but... Well, you're tougher than I am. A little bit, yeah. Yeah, I've had a lot of practice being called a lot of names, Mike. She's something else, right? Frog hands. It takes brass hands. You're an idiot. I mentioned Britney Spears parked in a handicapped spot while she was tanning, right? Yes. What's wrong with that? Maybe she didn't know that's what the sign meant. She just thought it was a pretty picture of a dude in a chair. Well, she is pretty handicapped. Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I was like, well, why is she getting in trouble for it? Well, because she doesn't have the placard. Legally, she can't prove that she's like nuts and impaired. But she has to prove that prior to parking in the spot. I let her go.
Oh, yeah. Brad Garrett, he played the mentally deficient guy on Everybody Loves Raymond. No, he was just tall. I've never seen the show, but I remember watching the previews and he was always like, you know, Hey, Raymond. Did he or did he not talk that way? He did. Hey, Ray, what are you doing, Ray? Give me three, guys. Hey, man. That doesn't mean he's special needs. It's not special needs, but there was something clearly was going on with him. Well, the actual guy, Brad Garrett, he got divorced. Listen to this. $20,000 child support per month. $20,000 child support. Holy. $35,000 alimony. No. Which will go until 2018. the end of 2018, unless his wife remarries prior. Everybody loves Raymond, though? She gets some of that, too. Half. She gets half of his Everybody Loves Raymond Profit participation. How do you feel about that, Mike? I didn't know she got half of it, Sky. She supported him. Yeah, it says half of his Raymond Profit participation. Yeah, yeah. Right, Sky? They're a team. Sky, right?
Because you agree with it, right, Sky? No, she doesn't. Don't do a bit. Don't do a bit. You've said before that you don't think that's fair. You've said before that you don't think... Sky, you don't think it's fair that she got half that Raymond money, right? Right? Please be my friend. I beg you to be normal. Do you want me to lie to you so we can be friends? Skye, come on. You don't think she deserves half that Raymond, though. If she did not pursue a career, if she stayed home and raised their children so he could go and be on Everybody Loves Raymond, then yeah. They're a teen. I don't believe it. They're a teen. I choose to believe that you want to make good radio right now. If she was out having her own... We're going to be friends, dude. No matter what. Yeah, we're going to be friends forever. I love you no matter what. Thank you. Stop it. If she was out being a lawyer or something when he's doing Everybody Loves Raymond, then no, she doesn't get half. No, she doesn't get half. But if she did not pursue a career so he could pursue his, half. Skye, but you know it's so much money. You know that she doesn't need that much money. And neither does he.
She deserves it? So wrong. She deserves it? Yeah. If God forbid, if God forbid you ever divorce your husband, he doesn't deserve a dime of what you've earned. I disagree. You earned it. I disagree. You earned it. Child support? Yes. You got to be responsible for a child. Of course you do. Of course you do. But this business about keep me in the lifestyle I'm accustomed to, where do you think the dough came from for the lifestyle? It came from him being able to work while she stayed home and took care of their family. That's not true. That is not true. If that were true, that would be saying he couldn't do it, you couldn't do it without him. And that's not true. You could do it without him. In fact, if you were divorced, you would continue to do it without him. It would make it extremely difficult to raise two children and work a full-time job. Nanny. Yeah, well. They're a team. That's not true either, Skye. What's not true? That you wouldn't have been able to do it unless they stayed home. That's not true either. No, you could do daycare. You could do a nanny. You see people. Okay, then that was a choice. You see people that are destitute. You see people that are destitute. They'll make any money and they're able to raise kids. But if they decided that's what they wanted to do for her to stay home and not have a career, then that's what they decided together.
She could have easily had a career, they got a nanny, and then this would have rolled out differently. He was. She wasn't. She didn't act in Raymond. He acted in Raymond. He acted in Raymond. We can still be friends. We just have a difference of opinion. Everybody loves alimony. Right? They're a team. Somebody just called in and said that Brad Garrett's wife was a cocktail waitress when they met. So? So. She's a millionaire now. So what was he doing when they first met? Probably acting. Honing that craft that'll make him a bunch of dough. I was a waitress when my husband met me. Does that mean I'm a jackhole or I'm less of a person or I don't deserve something? Hang on a minute. Hang on. If you were a waitress, let's say you married me. You stayed home. You were a waitress when we met. When we break up,
You shouldn't be entitled to radio dough. Even though that's dough you've made while we're together? Yeah, why would you be? Because I allowed you to do your job by me taking care of the household and you not having to do that so you could be free to go work. That is to say that I would not have been capable of it unless you stayed home, which is untrue, Your Honor. That is not what it's saying. That's not what it's saying. Your Honor? Yes. My wife... I would like a different judge, please. My ex-wife. I'd like a different judge. My ex-wife chose to stay home with our kids. Okay, now I want to pay for my kids. Wait, I chose, we chose for me to stay home and not have a career. We chose. Your Honor, she was a freaking waitress. What was she going to do anyway? What are you saying about waitresses? I could have gone to school. I could have become a lawyer. I could have become a doctor. But no, you wanted me to stay home and raise our baby. Your Honor, she's lying. You're in contempt of court. Your Honor, she's lying. He's in contempt of court. She would have been a waitress until she was 35 years old. You don't know that about me. I know that. I've been married to you.
that you're not very talented. The judge can't show bias like that. I'm not. This is my opinion. I want a mistrial declared and I want a new judge. You can't declare a mistrial. I'm the judge. Yes, I can. I'm the judge. If he would have let me go to school, I could have been a judge. That is such a bunch of baloney. He kept me down. Are you guys a team? We were a team until he bailed out with some blonde-ass bimbo. Oh, you never said that. You realize you ex-wife. Ex-wife. Ex-wife, you're lying. You would not have gone to school and you knew it. You wouldn't have gone to school. You don't tell me what I would have and wouldn't have died. Tell me. You would have gone to school and you would have made big time dough. Is that it? Like Raymond dough? Yeah. Oh, really? Yeah. You would have gone to school. No, no, no. Judge, I'm glad you're here, Judge. Honey, honey, tell the judge what you would have gone to school and majored in. Well, I have a big interest in the law. Were you going to continue that sociology degree you were getting? My sociology degree, I was going to become a lawyer. I was going to become an entertainment lawyer. Oh, wow. You would have been rich. Thank you. I would have. You totally would have. But he kept me down. It's awful. So I could support him. Well, you know what? Half. Let me tell you something, dude. Thank you, Judge. The judge just gave me half. Because you had no options, right?
Yeah, exactly. Well, they're a team. Yeah, we decided as a team. We did not. We decided as a team. You said you didn't want our child raised in daycare. Exactly. So you did it. So you raised our child. Yes. And you know what? You did a great job. And you know what? I'm going to give money so that you can continue to take care of our child. Now that we're not together anymore, I'm going to continue to give you money to raise a child. In fact, I'm going to give you a little bit extra for raising that child because I want to make sure the child is really well taken care of. But don't you come after that Raymond money. That Raymond money is not yours. You didn't act on the show. I supported you. You're not smart enough to be a lawyer, honey. Oh! See how he talked to me, Judge? Wow. It's true, Judge. I hate her. Mental abuse. It's true, Judge. I hate her. I have heard her talk, and I think you're right. Hey, Judge. Again. Again, Judge. I can't show by. I'm not. It's an official ruling. It is not. It's not. Let me tell you. All of these stories remind me of the Heather Mills. They're all Heather Mills. They all want dough that they didn't earn. Listen to what Barbara Walters, by the way, had to say about interviewing Heather Mills. Cut 12.
She had now met Paul McCartney, and I remember saying to him, because he showed up to pick her up, and I said to someone, this is a tough woman. And then he said, I heard you say that Heather was a tough woman. I thought, and he said, well, I like tough women. I said, more power to you, or something like that. She was extremely difficult. One of our young producers gave her, she wanted a glass of water, she gave her a glass of water. She said, this glass of water is not room temperature. She was so impossible to our producers. that we, you know, you pick on me, don't pick on the, you know, on the other people, that all we thought was, this is not a very nice woman. Hey, listen, she's telling me. Dude, that's not, I have not heard that before. That's crazy. There it is. Pretty crazy. Whoa. Hello. Now, we all know that Skye is, uh, Difficult. Crazy. Hang on. You phrase it. When it comes to money, what is Skye's relationship with her dough? You mean her frugalness or about... In general. In general. She's very tight about it. She enjoys it. She enjoys it quite a bit. She enjoys it as a little sense of entitlement. But she likes money. Can we say that? Can we say she likes money? Very much so. I believe that she is doing a bit about this 50-50 stuff because I'm telling you, she likes money. There's no question she is. There's no question she is. She likes money too much to be like, you know what, honey? You're a partner. You deserve...
half my paycheck dude i would be like if it came down and heaven forbid me and my hubby got divorced and he got half i would be like oh i'd be livid but at the same time this is the agreement we have made what if he like cheated again i would be guys sky wait a minute maybe i don't agree with the no fault rule what is that in california it's a no fault divorce so if somebody's cheating it doesn't matter It doesn't matter in a court of law who cheated, who wronged to. And I don't think that. I know that. Like women can cheat on their husbands and the husband still has to pay. Right. Okay. Now, wait a minute, Sky. It's BS. I think we may be on the same page. I recognize that this is the way it is. I recognize that this is the way that the laws are set up. I'm just saying it's wrong and it's not right. And what I'm hearing you say is that if it happened to you, you would be in the same boat. You would know you have to pay it, but you also feel it's wrong.
I don't feel it's wrong. It would suck. Are you telling me she wouldn't be saying it was wrong if this happened to her? It would suck because, yes, I don't want to part with my money. It would suck. I would be, like, upset about it. But you would feel he earned it. But I agree that we made... As a partner, he earned it. I agree that we made a deal as a team, yes. Oh, my God. And that's the deal we made as a team. I have to... We got to sign off because I got an appointment. But I don't want to because... You're never going to convince her. How many years have we been having this argument? I know, Eddie, in my heart, I know she's doing a bit for the radio. Yes, Mike, I'm doing a bit. Thank you. So you can sleep at night. I'm full of it. I'm doing a bit. I'm lying. Yeah. She would not be singing this team tune. They're a team, but she's the captain of the team. That's true. That is true. We are co-captains.
No. No, you're not. Absolutely not. No, you're not. Absolutely not. You can't judge my relationship. I'm not judging. I'm going off based off things that you have told me. You don't know how we are at the home. I'm going off based on things that you have told me. We know. You are the captain of the team. I am the captain of the financial ship. He is the captain of the home front. There is one person. We're talking about money. There's generally one person cursing at the top of their lungs at Home Depot, and it isn't Mr. Sky. And then there's one person who's cursing at home. Is Mrs. Skye. That is not Skye. Again, Skye. That is not Mrs. Skye. No, that is not. Her name is Mrs. Skye. There is equal cursing on both sides. Wow, that's like a sailor ship. Watch out for the scurvy. Freaking truck stop over there. We got to go, but I want to tell you the Reese Witherspoon story because I think it's creepy. Reese Witherspoon does not let her seven and four-year-old kids know that she's famous. And when she comes on TV... in a commercial for a movie or whatever, or a movie comes on, she changes the channel. She doesn't want them to know that she's famous. And I guess they don't. My question to Reese is, Reese, what happens when they find out? You know, like any minute now? Yeah. Like, well, what happens when they go to school and the other seven-year-olds go, dude, your mom's Reese Witherspoon. Yeah. So isn't your mom legally blonde? Yeah. Like, legally blonde? Like, you have to be blonde to be like, that's legal a thing?
No, no, no. Your mom was in the movie, Legally Blonde. What's that? Wasn't your dad in Crash? My dad was in a crash? It's weird. Like, why would she do that? When you're seven and four, you're very, like, aware of what's going on. Yeah, there's going to have to be a point soon where she, like, eases them into it. Because like you guys say, they're going to go to school and it's going to confuse them. Like, why would you even feel like you had to do that at all? Like, just be honest about what you do and who you are. Yeah, she said it was too weird. And I've heard her talk before of like, you know. What's weirder? They're both in movies. It's not like one. Yeah, like she doesn't want them growing up thinking that they're like different than other kids. That they're more entitled to things than other kids. They're not more entitled, but they are different. Your mom's Reese Witherspoon. That's different. That's different. No, but I get that when they're young. Like, it's important to just keep it to like. Raising your kids. They're like every other kid. Teaching them. They can already be like every other kid, but they're not normal. They're not like the normal. Raise your hand in the room if your parents are movie stars. Me either. Great. We all agree. Our parents aren't movie stars. If one of us raised our hands, that person would be different.
But do you know what I'm saying? Once they're old enough, you can ease them into it. But when they're that young, I can see how you'd want to maybe protect them from that because it's crazy. When they're older, at that point, you can't be eased into it. Now it's a train wreck when you tell them. Yeah, seven is pretty. You don't ease anybody into it at that age. At that point, it's like, oh, by the way, let me tell you this real nice and easy. Your mother is a gigantic movie star that commands more money per film than any other female actress in Hollywood. Oh, yeah, that's just my Oscar right there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In fact, they're now going to become a story. When they do figure it out, there's going to be like, oh, you're the kids that your mom didn't tell you who she was, right? Yeah, she didn't tell me. What's the deal with that? Well, for the 490th time today, she was trying to save me from blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Oh, boy. That's crazy that the kids are seven and four. Ashley. She is my favorite person. Ash. Seven and four. Before we started the show, we were talking about the story off the air. And I asked Skye. I said, how old are Witherspoon's kids? And Ashley was in the room. She happened to be in the room. And she goes, seven and four. And Eddie goes, you are, what? No, they're not. They're not anywhere near seven and four.
So we looked it up. They're seven and four. And Ashley was like, in your face. She could not help herself. She couldn't help herself from bringing it up on the air. She couldn't help herself. I will remember this. That's why I love her. I held back when we were making fun of her earlier. And I feel so bad right now that I held back. Do you feel bad? No, no, no. Maybe we should bring that story up again. You were. All it is is you had to bring it up on the air. We should bring the story up again. Well, how could I not? I was right. We should bring the story up again about all the different things that are the side effects. Let's do it. How could I not? Because we never bring stuff up on the air that was off the air. We have to go. I have an appointment. Let's do this. 5701053. We never do that. Let's do this. 5701053. I have to go. Sorry, Dad, but you're going to hear a lot of fun stuff right now. I'm so bouncing. Strap in. 5701053. I have an appointment. She is the best is what she is. Bring it on, Ashley. Come on. What am I saying?
I have to go. I have to go. I've got to go. Keep going. I mean, technically Mike was the one who said it. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. It's Peele and Josh. What's up, Josh? I heard that mixing energy drinks and alcohol makes you twice as likely to sleep with Jeff on the Mikey Show. There it is. Thank you. Hello. How do you feel better about yourself, Eddie? I feel great. I feel great, actually. Great. Yeah. Mikey Show, hello. I was being so mean. Hey, I just wanted to know. I called it earlier to make this crack. I'm a retard. But I got to know. Now that. Sky has frog attributes. Is she gonna, like, dress up like a furbird and go to Sean's sex meeting? Already done, sir. You too. Here I come. Thanks, guys. Uh-huh. The lovely and talented Budweiser is up next. Oh. Hi. He's fantastic. Uh, is Missy sick today? Yes. What do you have going on on the Nooner? That's an excellent question. I probably should find that out. Oh, man. An apology from Shauna. That's what I want. It's the second time I've done this. It's the all-request lunch hour, my friend. There it is. Thank you. It's the all-request lunch hour on the nooner. I appreciate you. What is that, by the way? I'm going to listen. I'm going to tune in right now so I can hear. I haven't heard you on the air, I don't think. I don't think I've heard you do an air shift on your own. I hear you on... You're my mentor and... Oh, my God. Ow.
Yeah, you're responsible for that, Mike. You're responsible.
