The episode opened with Mikey and the crew warning listeners about the dangerous Aquadots toy that can turn into GHB if swallowed. They then shifted to lighter fare, featuring Austin Rob’s storm‑chased Martha’s Vineyard trip and his $50 Yawkey Way souvenir, before diving into a heated debate over Mikey’s wife’s spoiled‑meat‑in‑the‑freezer mishap. Later, Boston Rob’s durian taste test and his Red Sox‑themed parody song sparked both laughter and disgust, while John Lovitz detailed his upcoming comedy club and revisited his feud with Andy Dick, and the show wrapped up by announcing the new ‘Winter Plugs All’ music competition.

The program, it is 6-0-2. The Chinese-made toy Aquadots is being pulled from shelves after they found if kids swallow the toy, a chemical in it turns into the date rape drug. The college basketball season kicked off last night with an upset of epic proportions. Little-known Garner Webb College beat No. 22-ranked Kentucky 84-68. That Aquadots thing is like the biggest story out there right now. It's all over CNN.com. It's all over television. Scary, man. Yeah, it's a toy for kids. I was reading about it, and I don't really get the toy. I don't get what you're supposed to do with the toy anyway. Are you supposed to eat it? Or are kids just eating it because they're kids? Yeah, I don't think you're supposed to eat it. It's not like it's candy. No, I think it's like a drawing toy to make pictures and stuff.
Yeah, I'll research it some more and look at it, but that was my impression of what it was. If you're a parent and you've got aqua dots, throw it out. Because when it gets in the kids' stomachs and their bodies start to process it, it turns into GHB. What kids have been doing is throwing up, going into seizures. It's been real bad. In Australia, I guess there was a little kid in Australia that got real sick. Nobody's died from it, but it's real bad. Yeah, and the crazy thing is that this toy by places like Walmart and stuff was named the top Christmas toy of the year. Oh, jeez. Yeah, one of their top recommended Christmas toys for this year. Yeah, I read it was in their top ten. Yeah, and it was named Toy of the Year in Australia. Yeah, in Australia it's got a different name. It's like Bindi Dots. Bindi's, yeah. That Bindi's real popular in Australia. That's the Croc Hunters kid. Everything over there is Bindi. She's as big as Britney Spears. She's not as messed up. Let's introduce everybody on the show. Get your phone calls, 570-1053. You call us at the beginning and end of every show. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm wearing yellow today. I very rarely do that. But I'm wearing yellow. I like bright colors sometimes because they make me feel good.
Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 34 years of age. And he's from the same hometown I'm from. We both grew up in Gilroy. Like the same block. Yep. Garlic capital of the world. Gilroy. Delicious. It's really yummy. Skye is our news girl. She's 30 years old. Wow. That's right. It's hard to believe, isn't it? Right. And looking good. Oh, well, thank you. Looking good. Look at that. Ashley's microphone is messed up yet again. Awesome. Are you serious? Terrible. That's messed up again. What is that? What are you doing? What were you doing? Well, I was doing what they were having me use the past two days, which was the other mic. But now I guess they've disconnected that one because they supposedly fixed this one. Oh, no. Yeah, I got an email yesterday saying the problem was resolved. Oh, good. I think the problem will be resolved when you get brand new studios or something. That'd be nice. Because these studios, and when I say these studios, I mean Rock 105. It's a mess. Yeah, it's junk heap. It's a mess. It's a lemon, right? Yep. Sean is our sound effects guy. He is 37 years of age. And somebody wrote me an email and said, why is Sean in Northern California and not in Southern California?
No, look at Sean. He goes, oh boy, you're stupid. Sean, what is the answer to that? The answer is, I don't like anybody. That's our fella. His name is Sean. Hi. He does sound effects. Give an example of what you do, Sean. That's a good one. Ashley is 24. She's our assistant producer. She looks exasperated. Austin Rob. Oh. Hey, what's up, folks? I'm so happy to see you. Hey. It's good to see all you guys. Looking good, brother. He took a few days off. He went to Martha's Vineyard. I went back, recharged the batteries, you know? Yeah. It was nice. Except I got caught in two nor'easters. When we landed, there was Hurricane Noel. That's what I read about. Oh, my God. When you landed, I was reading about that Hurricane Noel. It came out of nowhere. Turning power off in the northeast. Yeah, it was bad. And that was the day I was going to walk around Boston. Do a little, you know.
And so was it just torrential downpours? Yeah. Not to mention that it was, I don't know, 48 degrees. What did you do that day? Oh, my God. I still went down to Yawkey Way. What? Yeah, he's got to explain. Okay, Yawkey Way is like one of the main... Did you just have a seizure? Yawkey? Yawkey Way. Yorkie? No, Yawkey. Yawkey. Yeah. Y-A-W-K-E-Y. Yawkey. It's named after Tom Yawkey, one of the old owners of the Red Sox. Of course. Everybody knows Tom. It's right on Fenway. I had to go down there and check out the 2007 World Series banner. So you're out there in pouring rain? Yeah. Did you take your girlfriend? Yeah. She had to go with you? Yeah. She wanted to see it too. Don't turn me into a bad guy here. Poor thing. I had to see it with my own eyes. Did you take an umbrella? Yeah, no. Yeah, no. We definitely didn't. The answer to that is yeah, no. Definitely didn't. She wanted to, but I don't think you can on airplanes. We didn't check any baggage. They don't sell them in Boston. I don't know if you guys know. About a yucky way. I'm not going to buy an umbrella for one day of rain. Of course not. Come on. That would be ridiculous. They're so expensive. Yeah, they're like $4 now, you guys. Yeah, just get a trash bag and cut some holes in it and you're good. Can't be poncho. Listen, I don't think they did that.
Oh, you didn't even do that. Or did you do that? Nah, dude. You got overhangs. You just walk under the overhang. You get a little wet. You go inside. You dry off. Check this out. I'm in the Yockey Way store. Public transportation everywhere? Or did you get cabs? No, no, no. That day, my cousin was in the city with us. Okay, so he's driving you around. But yeah, when you guys called me yesterday, I had just got off the ferry from Mata's Vineyard and got on the Peter Pan bus from Falmouth to... What? Wait. Uh-huh. The what? The Peter Pan bus. It's like a greyhound. But I guess it's a local greyhound. It's called the Peter Pan bus. It's the Peter Pan Vanessa bus. It's more like the gayhound. Whatever you want to call it. It got me into the city. So anyway, you went down to Yockey Way. Yeah, and I went into the Yockey Way store to check out all the new merchandise and everything they got for the 2007 World Championship team. And Mike Timlin is, like, right there in line. Really? Yeah. He's a pitcher, right? Yeah, one of the relief pitchers for the Sox. Did you say hello? No. I was, like, a little girl that had, like, gone to see new kids on the block or whatever they like these days. You just let him have his peace. Yeah. But he, that guy is gigantic. And his head is, like, two times the size of my head. Like, I couldn't get over that fact. He has a very long head. But, yeah, I got to see him. My cousin.
He was out at dinner that night. Jacoby Ellsbury, who is one of the rookies for the Red Sox, was out at dinner next to her. Whoa. That's right. Believe it or not. Hey, these are world champions. Exactly. Presents of royalty. That's serious. Dang. Yeah. I'm sorry. Why don't you get their autographs? Because I don't want to ask for an autograph. Give me an estimation. Give me an estimation of... approximately how much money you spent in that store. Oh, I just spent $50. Okay. I would have thought that you would have taken all your savings. Oh, I would have loved to. Like rent. Everything you had. That was it, Mike. $50. $50. What did you get? I got a Red Sox windbreaker. I can't believe we're not seeing that today. When will you break out the windbreaker? In July of 2008. Windbreaker. When do we see the windbreaker? Maybe I'll rock it tomorrow. It's nice. It doesn't say World Series champs or nothing, but it's nice. But your birthday's coming up, huh? Nah. Oh yeah, that's right. In a couple weeks, huh? I don't even pay attention. What's your birthday? What's the date? The 24th? There you go. Rounding out the Mikey Show cast is Zeth. He's 22 years old. And he's the youngest guy on the show.
He's sitting in there with Ashley and learning something. That's a tough job, man. She's a baby. What? What's up? I think sitting in there with Ashley is a tough job. It is. Sitting in there with Ashley. You hear her right now? What's your problem? That's what I mean by that. What did you say? As a matter of fact, I'm not sure she's talking to me or him. What are you trying to say? I'm trying to say you're a rough coach. That's not true. You're a rough coach. You're a tough coach. I run a tough camp. Wow. She does. She's one of those coaches whose philosophy is the way I make a winner is to grab him by the face mask, shake it. She's Bob Knight. Yeah. She's not. She's not. Who's the guy? Who's the guy now? North Turner. She's not North Turner. She's Bob Knight.
Like, you know, it would be so cool if I could get Zeth a shot caller. So that way, even if he's out of range, if he's doing something wrong or anything like that, I could shock him real quick. Bad Zeth. He's a human. Let me tell you. Let me tell you, too. Zeth is six foot three. Ashley, how tall are you? Five foot seven and a half. He's petrified of her. I'll tell you that right now. He's not petrified. Oh, yeah, he is. And he's sitting in a chair right now. I am. And the chair. The chair is positioned to be much lower than her. Who prefers it that way? So she has to like... Your chair's lower. He has to look up to her when he speaks. So you're below me. Poor guy. 5701053. You know what I got today? Dog the bounty hunter on Larry King. Did he make it better? Did he make it worse? I'm sure he helped his cause. I'm sure he did. I got audio of Schwarzenegger at SeaWorld. Oh, no. Don't. They got kissed by Shamu, bro. Look at it. Give him a big old hug. Look at it. You would think the Terminator would take him out, you know? What? Would realize that he's... You mean kill him? Well, yeah. He's a danger to society. He is not. And you would think that the governor would recognize that. Maybe that's what he was doing there, doing research to realize that, you know, it's a health hazard. He's trying to get people. I swear I would not kill anyone.
trying to get people to visit Shamu. No. Bad idea. Eddie talked about a story the other day off the air and I'm dying to hear it. We haven't got to it and I want it so bad. Yes. Eddie, talk about the spoiled meat story. Oh no. I haven't even heard it yet. He started and I go, stop, stop, stop. Save it for the air. I've come to the realization that sometimes me and my wife Do things very differently. And, you know, I mean, I've accepted it. And it's, you know, it is the way it is. You know, she does things her way. I do things my way. And we're trying to compromise and figure out a way to, you know, not make each other crazy. Right. But she did something the other day that I could not handle. And I got very upset. And it grossed me out. Do you remember a couple weeks ago I told you guys that story about how she almost killed me?
And I felt like I was in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. And I screamed at her, you're going to kill us. Because she was going to cook some spoiled meat. And, like, it was gray. And she didn't, you know, I was like, what are you doing? You can't cook that. It's bad. And so she didn't want to throw that meat away in the garbage can. Because in the garbage can, you know, it would smell immediately. And so instead of, you know, saying, hey, well, you know. dude take it out you know take out the garbage which i would have been happy to do right her plan was to put the meat in a bag and put it in the freezer to i guess preserve it until she decided she was ready to throw out the garbage now are we talking a ziploc bag or a garbage bag you know the bags you get at vons and the grocery stores you know the plastic bags the stuff they bag your groceries yeah She put it in there and then tied it and then put it in the freezer so that it wouldn't smell. Well, she forgot about it and it stayed in the freezer for two weeks. And I opened the door the other night and I looked at it and I go, what is this bag? And she goes, oh, that's spoiled meat. And I went, huh? What are you talking about, spoiled meat? Why is it in the freezer?
She said, oh, well, I was going to throw it away, but I forgot about it. So the spoiled meat's been in with our food this whole time? Yeah. What does it matter with you? She's got to get some sticky notes. I went kitchen nightmares on her again, you know? There's bacteria in there. You're going to kill me. You're going to kill us. Donkey. I was very upset about that. Look at this. It's bad. Can't you see? Look. Oh, look at it. Oh, it's terrible. That's fantastic. I'm not happy about that. By the way, guess what we're going to start doing tomorrow? Something called Winter Plugs All. Remember when we had the two guys come in here with the acoustic guitar and play guitar? We're going to do that every week. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, as a matter of fact, you go to the website, mikeyshow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. There's a place on the website where you can actually tell us that you want to come in and do that. And it could be a guy or a girl. If you sing and play guitar, because every week it's got to be that, just a man or a woman with a guitar.
I'm running into a little bit of an issue, which I think is okay, about some singers who don't play guitars. Can they bring in their guitarist? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, it needs to be a singer and a guitar. Yeah. So if you bring somebody, that's fine. Okay. That's absolutely fine. And the idea is that the person that does the best, and we'll let you do it by the text messaging votes, the person that does the best gets to plug themselves. Their band appearance, MySpace page, all that stuff. Awesome! Get to sing on the radio. How awesome is that? I love live music in here. That's fun when we do that. Don't mock me. I enjoy it. Like when we had Joe Mercado in and then we had the guys in last week. I think it's a cool thing. You are full of mock. You just clicked mock on her face. No, I did not. I didn't comment on your meat story. I wanted to. Please do. You think that's acceptable? Putting garbage in the freezer? I think you're freaking out a little bit. Really? You open up your freezer, you see garbage in there, and you're like, oh, no big deal. Well, she put it in there, and she meant to throw it away. She had good intentions. It was an accident. Let's ask Sean if he's okay with that. Sean won't even step foot in your place. I mean, Sean's not the barometer to go by. Sean, wouldn't that gross you out?
Absolutely it would. Breathing oxygen grosses Sean out. What are you talking about? What are you talking about? Don't insult my friend. That's really mean to say that. If you could live in a bubble, you would. You're an awful person. He'd be the Sean in the plastic bubble. Make a great movie. I don't think it was the putting it in the freezer. I think it was the leaving it in the freezer. Forgetting it in the freezer. But it's an accident. It's an accident, but you gotta remember it. Well, you got to do something to... Mike, how are you saying that without catching on fire? Hang on. Hang on. Like, I actually think that the idea exhibits intelligence. Yeah. You know, the idea of it. But all I do is ask myself, now, what if it were me? Personally, I got a policy of I know myself too well. I'm walking this outside right now. I don't like doing it. No way. I do not like doing it, but I do it.
I walk the chicken, the yellow styrofoam, slimy, slimy chicken container with the white pad on the bottom. Hey, man. That's slippery. Dude, we got it. With goo. I know. We know. I walk it out. I walk it out. But the freezer idea, I get it. I get the concept of it. But if you leave it there for your husband, especially given this husband, to find that, you know he's not going to dig that. He's not going to dig it. That's how old it is. My best friend of 20 years is not going to dig spoiled meat in a bag in the freezer. That's disgusting. I don't live in a flop house. We have a garbage can. I can take it out. P1 Da Bears is on the line. Hey, guys. How you doing? I've been keeping up with the Oracle's picks of football against the Charger girls every week. And lately, his attitude hasn't been very good. I don't think he's doing his homework. An error on the website.
For the season totals, it gave him two more wins than he actually has. For the season totals, after nine weeks... Well, what were the errors? What games? Whoever added them just added two more wins than he actually has. Well, okay, but you said you did homework, so you went through and figured out, well, that's not a win. No, he added it up, and there was a mistake in the addition. Right, between week six and week seven, he only won nine games. But they gave him 11 wins. So they went from 53 to 64 wins. Okay, so what are you getting at? The conspiracy of the football picks? No, it's just that he's only up by one game over the Charger girls. Okay.
Eddie has a look on his face right now like, I can't win. I'm not really sure. He's not in charge. He doesn't do it. He's not in charge of putting that stuff on the website. He probably didn't even know what was going on on that website. So I'm still beating them, but you've done something wrong. What have I done wrong? I don't understand. And my attitude has been bad? What's that? I'm just picking games, bro. I don't know how to improve my attitude to pick the Chargers. The Charger girls come with their little notebook. They do homework. I don't do homework. I'm on the radio every week on a pregame show. Oh, my God. No, you don't think about it all week, Eddie. You just come in here and, like, draw names out of them. Wait a minute. Why don't you care, Eddie? Wait, wait, wait. I'm confused. The Charger girls have admitted that their boyfriends helped them. At least they have notes. I don't need notes. But the boyfriends make the pics. I have my knowledge in my head. He's the oracle. I don't need notes.
Sure. Unbelievable, Eddie. You hear that attitude? I don't know what I did wrong. Wow. Check yourself. Eddie, how would you feel about what this person put in the freezer? Oh, no. P1 Lori? Yeah, hi. Hi. My dad used to put our dead pets in the freezer until we would bury them. What? Give me an example. Give me an example. Growing up, we had pet rats and cockatiels. And when they would die, he would put them in a Ziploc bag and put them in the freezer until we could bury them in the backyard. So you could see them? Yes. So you would open the freezer and you would see the animal in a Ziploc bag? Yeah, they'd be on the bottom shelf. Holy cow. That is really crazy. Pass me a flavor ice right next to the bird. That's not an otter, Pop. That's an otter. That is a father who has a different line than we do. Yeah. His line is drawn a bit further out than our line. And luckily I didn't inherit that. My husband would kill me. Thank you for the call, Lori. Thanks. P1 Patrick, what's up? Yeah, I was just calling today to say November 10th.
is the Marine Corps' 232nd birthday. Really? Yes. That's on Saturday? Yes, it is. Happy birthday. Happy birthday, Marine Corps. That's cool, man. Do you guys do anything to celebrate? Normally throughout the, you know, everywhere we're at, we throw parties, have balls. We read John A. Lejeune's birthday message. He's one of the commandants of the Marine Corps. Sweet. Well, cool, man. Happy birthday to all the Marine Corps. All the Marine Corps people that are listening today. All the Marines. Thank you, man. Let's see you. Wow, there is some pretty, pretty big stuff floating out there today. Between Dog the Bounty Hunter, we got Dog the Bounty Hunter that's in the news. We also have one of these 18-month pregnant celebrities finally admitting they're pregnant. We got that coming up.
OJ Simpson in court today. There's a study that finds that 25% of the homeless are veterans. Let me get into that. We got all kinds of stuff. And then I got an email from Sarah, the girl that works at the front desk here at Clear Channel. And she is vehemently defending Britney Spears and her record sales. Because yesterday we were talking about how the Eagles, Beat Britney's record sales by almost half a million. And where it took the number one spot. So she was a little upset about the way that was reported on. She doesn't disagree with the facts. It's just that she thinks that there's a different spin that we're sort of missing there. I'd love to hear that. That doesn't make any sense. So we can explain that in a little bit. 570-1053 is a phone number. On the show today, Rampage Jackson.
Yes. Oh, he's the best. Well, let me tell you how the best he is. This guy, the last time he was on the show, it missed our Best Of CD by that much. So much fun. Because he was so good when he came in here. It missed it by that much. So he's back on the show today. Does she have a fight or anything coming up? He doesn't. And that's one thing I want to ask him. It seems like they're kind of spacing out his fights quite a bit. And I'd like to know when the next time he's going to fight. Right. So he just wanted to check in with us. Yes. Also, we'll do a little tone-deaf karaoke today. We've got a great batch today, guys. Oh, she's back. What a great batch. Ashley just had a stroke. What? Tone Deaf Karaoke is where we play Ashley singing. You've got to guess what it is. If you can, you win a prize. Yeah. Guess what else returns today? Bizarre Foods with Boston Rob. Ah, welcome back. Welcome back. Speaking of Boston Rob, he's on the phone right now. Get off and come on the microphone. Get a load of this. Yo, what's up? So guess what I found and put up here for me to play today? I'm going through...
a bunch of audio with Ashley the other day. And I go, and I see this file. And I go, what is that? And she goes, oh, that's Rob Sunk. And I said, I don't recognize that song. She goes, it's his song about the Red Sox winning the World Series. That's right. And I said, I'm so confused. He pitched that idea. And I said, no. I know you said no. I said, No one cares here in San Diego. No one cares. No thank you. No thank you, but no thank you. And so Ashley goes, he said he did it just in case. So he made it anyway? Yeah, he made me load it.
Just in case. Just in case of what? Just in case I liked it and wanted to do it. And he was implying that you guys would totally take a mob on it. Load it. They'll play it just in case. Could be a favorite. What is he talking about? And I said, I go, is it any good? And she goes, just listen. So I go, so I go, I'm not going to hear it until we do it on the radio. And now, and by the way, a couple things. Now, like, that's the bit. Right. Now the bit is, I told you not to do it, and you did it. That's part of it. Just in case. The other part of it is, is it all like a big plan of his? Like, oh, I know how to get it played. He'll be so irritated at me for doing it when he told me not to do it. That it'll get played. Oh, my God. Yeah, he was really proud of himself. I still am proud of this song. What is it a parody of? It's B-Rob's Red Sox Nation parody. What is it a parody of, Mike? I'll tell you what it's a parody of. One of the greatest songs in the history of Earth. Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, Good Vibration. You've already known that. How many times? You've already known that.
And every time in the office he pitches a parody song, it's always to good vibrations. And we go, dude, you can write a lot to that song. Make it relevant. How is that not relevant? That goes on in a club and you don't go on the floor? After 2000. That doesn't come on in a club, bro. They don't play Marky Mark and a funky. Get out of here. It's the greatest ones. Like they don't even play that in Boston where Marky Mark is from. Like Marky Mark hasn't heard that song in 10 years. He's embarrassed of it. I still bump it in my car, so. You bump it. So, quick time out. We'll come back and we'll play Rob's new parody song that shouldn't have been. I called UPS to ask them to help out with some boxes. Now, they're a good service, but you have to have information ready about your boxes before you even call them. I had no idea. I called them up. Yeah, I have 10 boxes. Come pick them up. We need to know the weight and the girth. Okay, goodbye. We need the weight and the girth. Okay, I don't know what the weight is, and I don't know what girth means. But now what's the procedure? The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Efficient. Yeah, that's the word I'd use to describe Pacific Honda. Okay, let me explain. At Pacific Honda, you've got it all under one roof.

Right now, that North 805, that's pretty much jamming up as it has been all week long. Pretty much from 8th Street off and on. You're in and out of it all the way into North Park. Now briefly developing out of Kearney Mesa. Northbound 5 also backing up out of Chula Vista into National City as well. West 94, pretty much good to go in the downtown for the time being. The Westbound 8 Freeway, that's looking good out of the Cajon Valley. Looks like you're clear here all the way into Mission Bellies so far as well. South 15, though, getting a little bit heavier out of Escondido. Off to 78 to Villarancho Parkway. Some reduced speeds again to the construction area up here in Rancho Bernardo. And the coaster rides, half on five, now slowing from La Costa already down to Manchester. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show. My nephew, Beto. He tries to be a lot more mature than he actually is. He's not. At all. You're not. Beto's in that stage where he thinks that fighting and doing drugs is cool. Uncle Eddie. What? Do less lesbian. With who? Hens. What? What? You guys want to see my stab? We would love to. I would show you, dude, but it's by my big junk. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Welcome back. It is 638. Britney's lawyer will be back in court today after KFED's lawyer requested a hearing saying that Britney is not complying with her random drug test rules. This isn't a James Bond movie, but the International Tennis Federation...
is investigating allegations that tennis player Tommy Haas was poisoned by the Russians. What? We were playing for you yesterday, Dog the Bounty Hunter on Hannity and Combs, and it was crazy. It was crazy. By the way, John Lovitz in the studio today. Oh! So cool. That's right, John Lovitz will be in here. Wow! Bizarre Foods with Boston Robb coming up, Rampage Jackson coming up, Tone Deaf Karaoke coming up. Wow! So, Dog the Bounty Hunter was on Hannity and Combs two nights ago. Last night, he did Larry King. When will Matt Lauer get a hold of him? Please. Right now, we got audio of him on Larry King. The show was canceled, right, dog? What would you guys say? Oh, no. We'll just hang on a minute. Hang on. Oh, no. I know you guys are upset at Dog the Bounty Hunter. Yes.
Would it change anything for you? Right. Go ahead, Eddie. Rob's song? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll get to it in a second. Okay. Let me ask you. Would it change anything for you about your feelings about Dog to Bounty Hunter if he said to you guys he will take classes to, you know, get a better vocabulary? Vocabulary? Cut one. How do you fix it? continue doing the things I've done working with you know interracial people and I just have to I have some classes I have to go to and I need to get a greater vocabulary than what I have obviously and when I get mad and my brain searches for a word I have to find different words and to do that you have to be have a more of an education vocabulary dog that you've had all your life yeah you know I've probably used and had that kind
vocabulary whole life yes so you had would you say a limited vocabulary due to not a great education well if i could uh i graduated from the seventh grade you know i mean i i dropped out of school and and i don't want to blame it on that i know right from wrong that kind of guy dog if you're there pick up bro what's up brother dude i told you not to go on larry king that's the problem you You said you were going to take classes to learn not to say the N-word, bro. That's a problem. I have a limited vocabulary. I know three words. I know, but people are going to think you sound like a nut taking classes to not say the N-word. We're just supposed to not say the N-word. Oh, well, you know that, brother, but I don't know that. So you're going to go to a school? Yeah. N-word school? Yeah. No more TV, bro. Please. Limited vocabulary. Oh, my gosh. I'm confused. Go ahead. Well, we recall yesterday when we were playing the audio of Dog on Hannity and Combs, he was talking about how he uses the N-word as a term of affection when he greets people from the African-American community.
Right now, in the clip, he was telling Larry King how he has to learn how to use different words when using words out of anger. That's because I told him that. I called him and told him that. Well, I mean, he basically, he's contradicting himself. What is he doing? I think his friend corrected him. His friend saw him on Hattie and Combs called him and said, don't do that again. He's obviously being corrected as he goes along. But, I mean, once he says it and puts it out there, Can't take it back. Whatever. P125 Christian? P25... What is that? P25. That's what he said. P25. P25 Christian? Hello? You guys are retards. What is going on? This guy's... Can the guy not say that word and he's got to be crucified basically by you people? Are you... Are you racist? He doesn't attack anybody. He takes criminals off the street, yo.
Are you a racist, yo? Oh, absolutely not. I'm free. I am not a racist. It's just a word. Yes, you are. He did not attack. You're a racist. Come on. Come on. Admit it. Admit it. What can I do? You are racist. I'm not even a full breed of anything. You're a racist. Come on. Admit. You tried it once. Admit. Yeah, you tried it once. Couldn't get it. Now you're addicted to it. You're pressure. That's right. Everything you guys say is so PC. That's so true. He's a comedian. He has a point there. Good boy. It's funny. He does a good thing for society by keeping those people off the street. And you don't think everyone who's a criminal uses that word. He's just trying to fit in with these people. That's his life. Well, guy. He's not a Christian. Hey, guy. They don't want a church like you, but he's a Christian God. Guy. I said that yesterday. Guy, I just heard you guys bagging. I said that yesterday. Hey, Guy. I don't listen to your show every day. I'm sorry. I can't. Well, you missed it then. It's not your fault. I'm just telling you that I've already said that. All right. I just feel sympathy for the guy because nobody... I've already said what you said. Hey, buddy. I'm not fighting you. Guess what? He can still do those things. Yeah. He just doesn't have it on a TV show anymore. Right.
I see that. And it's kind of like censorship. Come on. There's way worse words than that being said. What censor? You think that's not way pure sexual and stuff like that shouldn't be on the air then? But in Girls Next Story, they don't use racial slurs or racial anything. You're right. So, what are you talking about? How old are you, bro? I'm over 35. Let's just say that. You are not. I am too. No, you're not. No, no. You're 14. Hey, I'm not 14, dude. Yes, you are. How old are you then, Beto? I'm 22, bro. No, you're not. All right, I'm not 22. I'm 19, though. No, you're not. See, you're both lying. For real, I could vote with this guy. No. Hey, dude, me and you, we're more alike than you think. What does that mean? That means that me and this guy, we both come from the hard streets of prison, dude. The hard streets of prison. That's right. That dude on the phone. Stop it. You're strong, bro. I'm strong. Drink a 40. No.
I see you guys' picture on the internet. You're a bunch of clowns. Hey, dude, don't hang up. I'll fight you right now. No, Beto. No, they're just words. They're just words. I'll fight you, you coward. Fighting is not the answer. Don't you hang up. Come on. Beto, come on. I'm not fighting you. I'm not really upset with that. I don't blame him. All right. Boston Rob, he wrote a song. I told him that, well, first of all, he pitched the idea. And I said no. And I think he said no because you hadn't heard the song. Oh, that must have been it. You just needed to hear it. He pitched the idea of doing a song about the Red Sox winning the World Series. It's an important thing in a lot of people's lives. And so I guess he did it anyway. He told Ashley before he even left. When did he have you load that? Last week. Oh, my God. Before he left. Yeah, it was very important to him because he figured.
Like, the sooner it gets in, then the sooner you guys can play it if you want or whatever. It's to Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. Good vibrations. Which, hasn't he done something to that already? I don't remember. Or did he not? He suggests it every time he wants to do a song. And you guys always shoot it down. So we've never said... I don't think so. No, every week you tell him no. You go no on that. Suggestion. Let's do a better song. More relevant. City of Champions is now in full effect. For all you doubters, go eat some chowder. How sweet it is. Boston Red Sox World Series champions again. First 0-4, breaking the curse 7. Yo, it's potty time. Cheetah sucks and A-Rod will never sign. Another ring, like 0-4. Tori is gone, Johnny Dam is a whore. Four of the fences.
Is this you kidding me? Awesome. Why are you interrupting? Why are you interrupting? Why are you interrupting? Oh, my God. It's where Poppy's swinging it when Papa Bonds goes in. We be winning it. It's not the riots at all locations from Boston to SD. It's Red Sox Nation. Yeah, come on, come on. Let's riot. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Come on. That can't be for real. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go Holy crap. That's how we celebrate. So stupid. I love it. He's so stupid. What is he talking about? A Boston fan. Well, yeah, but only people from Boston get it. So I'm always welcoming donations. Congrats to the Red Sox nation. Yeah. That's for money now? Come on.
Well, that is stupid. That was terrible. I don't understand. I'm in. That was the best song I've done so far. That was great. He pitches that. And we go, no, man. He makes it anyway and says, just in case. You never know when you're going to need that song. I'm listening to it on the ride home. He gotta admit, it's kind of catchy. It's kind of catchy. Mikey Show. Song by Boston Rob was the best thing I've ever heard. How dare you? That's what I'm saying. So I can make sure I buy every copy and set it on fire. That was just awesome. I had a lot of respect for B-Rob before this, but now it's...
Now it's boosted what? To double the respect? You're loving me, right? Listen, there are certain things in life I've never understood. Like that pet rock thing. I didn't get it. I was talking about that the other day. I didn't get it. And that phone call. People love it. People love it. Why? What do I not understand? What am I missing about riot, right? Come on now. Flip your claws over. Light your car on fire. Genius. It's genius. Great job. Mikey Show. Hey, this is G1 Garcia. I just want to call and tell B-Rob that he's an absolute genius. That's what I'm saying. Thank you. Thank you. Should we play it again? No. They love it. He's getting his friends to call in. Is that your friends? Be honest. Is that your friends? I might have sent out a text message. Let's do this.
Zeth, send out a blast that says Mikey's going to replay B-Rob's song in five minutes. Okay. If P1s want it, we'll do it. Fine. When we come back, I'll play B-Rob's song again. Rampage Jackson is coming up. Not to mention, I haven't even got to this yet, but apparently Damon Wayans... was on TV yesterday and was talking about what he thinks about Dog the Bounty Hunter. We got that. It's all coming up on the Mikey Show. This is the Mikey Show. You've given everyone a great laugh and a great way to start my day, so we thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. Rock 105.3. Sean. Sean wears capri pants. I enjoy the taste of medicine. And Ashley. I can only take really small bites of food. Really small bites of food. The Mikey Show's on. You guys are so cute.
Thank you. Rock 105.3 Emails are insane. Loving the song from Boston Rob. Dude, I'm telling you, I've never seen anything like it. Like my inbox is filling up and the phone lines are like blowing up. P1 Spot, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What did you want to say? I just want to say Boston Rob, that I love that song. And Mikey, I called my friends and want to know if you can play it again because I love that song. I was calling his friends and telling his friends about it. Oh, man. I'll play it right now, dude. All right, thanks. Rampage Jackson coming up here in just a second. And the Damon Wayans comments on Dog the Bounty Hunter. B-Rob's song. Operation City of Champions is now in full effect. For all you doubters, go eat some chowder. How sweet it is. Boston Red Sox World Series.
He's just talking. Yeah, come on, come on. Let's riot. He doesn't get that wrong. He didn't say that on his song. In Boston, riot means celebrate. It does. I like how he left the good vibrations part in there, though. Right. That lady killed it. What, are they going to cut her out of the song? Come on. I like my Murphy's drop kicked. My water dirty and wreck it as a convict. Boston Rob got a throat tattoo. Crimes I used to do, but I want to prove to you. Nowadays, I'm a changed guy with a lot of Boston pride. Drive a broke down ride. So I'm always welcoming donations. Congrats to the Red Sox nation. Come on, come on. Let's riot. What's up? That's the stupidest thing.
Rob recorded this in his underwear, too, which is weird. Idiot. It's like the BVD commercials that Mackie Mack used to do. Right, that was a joke. Oh, shit. Were they like Red Sox underwear? I really did it, though. Okay. I wasn't. P1 Bob? Are you there, Bob? Oh, yeah, I'm here. What did you want to say? I just wanted to say I never, ever have liked B-Rub's song. I think he's always off-key or he does it too slow, but this one was awesome. This one was awesome. It was upbeat. He sounded enthusiastic about it. And in fact, when he broke into the riot, riot actually stopped my car and set it on fire. Okay. No, so much to do that. We do not advise you. We do not condone that. We don't. Bad idea. Yeah, we don't suggest that anybody riot. That's bad. Flip their cars. Throw a brick through your own window. It doesn't make sense at all. Definitely don't do that. Definitely don't. Definitely the stupidest song he's ever done.
Terrible. Idiot. Thank you. P1 Carissa? Carissa, are you there? Carissa's not there. P1 Chunk is on the line. Hey, how's it going, guys? Good. Mikey, the thing was about Boston Rob songs you don't get, it's the dirtbag complexity of it. Explain. Okay. I'm a dirtbag myself, and what it is is just know what they want and know what they love about their teams, and if the Chargers had won the Super Bowl last year, bet you Bob... Especially Rob would have made one about the Chargers. There you go. It's from one dirt bag to another. Boston Rob screened that phone call. Of course he did. So Damon Wayans was on The View. And they were asking him about Michael Richards being a racist. And now Dog the Bounty Hunter being a racist. And Dog the Bounty Hunter using the N-word. Here's what he said. Cut 33. Do you think he should have lost his job? You know, he's not out there arresting white people.
On his show. That's not true. What do you mean? That isn't true. I mean, his show is not about, he's not in Iowa, you know, being a bounty hunter. He's arresting ethnic people. So, I mean. That's what you think. That's what I'm saying about being hypocritical. The man was being honest with his son. I want to say this word in the house. So what about IMS in that case? Do you think he should have stayed on? You know. While we're on the subject. IMS. Yeah. I think. Because he's coming back. It's freedom of speech. What happened to that? What happened to expressing yourself? At least I know where he stands. And you know what? When he called him nappy-headed hoes, I went, wow. He's right. Okay. Wait a second. Al Sharpton. No, no, no. He's allowed to say that. He's black. That's Damon Wayans. He can say that. But it was all over the planet. It starts out that he says dog to bounty hunter only arrests minorities. I never seen the show. I know that can't be true. It's not true. It's not true. He rests a lot of white trash people. Definitely. The guy's in Hawaii, isn't he? And they film it in Hawaii? Yeah. Guess who's on the phone? Who? Quentin Rampage Jackson. Oh, Rampage. A boy. Rampage, I... Listen, Rampage, I bet you didn't know this, but you're one of my favorite guests ever. Thanks, man. I appreciate it.
It's a truth. It's a truth. You came into the studio the night after you had been partying with Kevin Federline and Wilmer Valderrama. Yep. Yes, you were. Yes, you were. You sounded very different than you sound right now. I'm in bed right now. He's very rested. You're very rested, right, Quentin? Yeah. Rampage, how is your grill? That's right. Wow. He's grilling and chilling. Right? I'm good. You're grilling and chilling. Rampage, you've only fought once since you won the title. Now you're laying in bed. Are you sleepy? Are you getting bored? No, man. I'm in Atlanta promoting my new energy drink. Is it an energy drink convention? Oh, no. You know what it is? It's like a convenience store convention. Yeah. That's awesome.
Rampage, we're talking to Quentin Rampage Jackson. Quentin, who do you think you're going to fight next, and when will you fight? Well, that's a pretty good timeline. At least we know it's going to happen. Hey, there's a super fight in December with Chuck Liddell and Vandele Silva. Who do you think is going to win? Rampage, are you sleeping in boxers? Where's the boxer briefs? Nice. Rampage Jackson, do you stay in four-star hotels, or are you more of a more down-to-earth kind of hotel guy? Big boy sweet. Hey, I don't know if you guys know this, but Quentin Rampage Jackson is one of the featured fighters on that new UFC game for the PlayStation 3. Really? That's right. You play video games, Rampage? Do you play yourself? Oh, no, so I get to play one. Weird. That's an interesting wording. I got weird.
Now, you're also getting into acting, I know. Like what? What have you been in? What have you just filmed? Filmed a movie called Midnight Meat Train. Oh. Midnight Meat Train? Midnight Meat Train. Midnight Meat Train. Now, this is not a remake of 1931's Midnight Meat Train, is it? This is a new film with Quentin Rampage Jackson, and what do you play in it? Angels are used to film. Oh, that's cool. Oh, that is cool. That's cool. Brooke Shields is in it. Oh, did you work with Brooke Shields? No, I didn't even see Brooke Shields. According to IMDb, she's in that movie with you. No way. And there he is, Quentin Rampage Jackson. Wait a minute, you got your butt kicked in the movie? Nobody kicks Rampage's butt. That's what I'm saying. My agent said, no, we don't want to get your butt kicked.
What did you have for dinner last night? What did I have? Where'd you go? Look at that. Nice. That's nice. Do you get recognized a lot, Quentin? K-Fed. What up? Let me tell you about Rampage's sponsors. He's got Throwdown.com, OsirisShoes.com. Great shoes. And look at this. You got all these different sponsors that you're working with. Rampage, you know what that means? It means they know that you are a good pitch man. Hey, you know our good friend Brandon Vero. You were training with Brandon for his last fight, right? I couldn't help him for his last fight, but he helped me from there. Quentin Rampage Jackson, UFC light heavyweight champion. It's as big as it gets, man. It's as big as it gets. I appreciate that. I'm the undisputed champion. That's right. You know it. The undisputed champion. Undisputed. Memphis gave you the key to the city. Wow. Yeah.
That's awesome. That means you can go there anytime you want and get in. Yeah, I can get in the city with that key. That's right. Quentin, don't... Hey, listen. Now, they trust you with that key. Don't have any, like, extras made. Don't go down to the... No parties. Yeah, no parties. Yeah, it says do not duplicate on it. It says do not duplicate on the key. Right, right. They won't do it for you. You don't make a necklace. Put it on your chain. Yeah, you go, I got the key to the city. You can't pull me over. That's right. Quentin Rampage Jackson. Hey, thank you for coming on the show, man. We always love having you on. Thank you, Rampage. I could talk to him all day. Awesome. You got to try to push the right buttons with Rampage. Yeah. All right, don't go away. Conan O'Brien is being stalked by a priest. This is a real story. I am not messing around. And he won't talk about it. He won't comment on it. I have that story. Welcome to the jungle.

Oh, so then you do like that you get three cents back on debit card purchases with a WAMU free checking account. Personally, I think it's genius. It's shmenious. Shmenious? So, in concern for your health and your comfort,
The seven Volkswagen dealers here in San Diego County have volunteered to replace this smoke and pollen filter in your Volkswagen for free. If you drive a 1998 or newer Volkswagen, stop by any of our seven San Diego County Volkswagen dealers during their normal service department hours, and they will install a new filter in your car at no cost to you. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. It's another floggy ride out here, so you might want to give yourself some extra time because the freeways are getting kind of backed up here right now, especially this 805 northbound. Excuse me. Pretty heavy at the Chula Vista from 8th Street all the way into North Park. Slows again out of Kearney Mesa with a 52. Northbound 5, got plenty of brake lights out of Chula Vista into National City as well. Traveling westbound on the 94 King Freeway. That's staying tight from Kelton to the 805. And then you've got more brake lights from 32nd Street into downtown. The westbound 8 ride hasn't been too bad here this morning. We got by with an easy one yesterday. Today we're looking at brake lights from around Springs to reduce speeds out towards College. Nothing too serious. West 52 backing up a little bit here out of Santee from the 125 up the hill. Southbound 7 to 15. That's a bit tough now from the 78 down to Via Rancho Parkway. Then again through Rancho Bernardo.
And the coaster ride, Sapon 5, is quite a struggle out of La Costa down towards Solana Beach. I'm McLawrence on Rock 105.3. Broadcasting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. Mikey Morning Show. It's 719. The governor was at SeaWorld yesterday reminding people of all the wonderful tourist attractions that San Diego has to offer. Whatever. Mike, you're going to love this. Recently reinstated Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry set to return from his eight-game suspension this Sunday. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Just the fact that you're starting this way. Uh-oh. You're already making me nervous, bro. Well, you know, he was suspended for all those altercations he got into. Eddie.
You cannot tell me something else happened. You cannot tell me that. He's supposed to play on Sunday, you know. A couple days ago, he got into an altercation. Eddie, hang on a second. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. Mike is freaking out right now. No, it gets... It's okay. Breathe. I just picked him up in fantasy football because I don't have any wide receivers. I just picked him up because he's coming off a suspension. You may be okay. You may be okay. But he got into an altercation with a parking lot attendant. No, he didn't. Where the cops were called. No, he did not. Why would he? Well, he's mad. How's that possible, though? I don't know. It's crazy. At this point, I don't think he would use swear words. I know. It's impossible. It's impossible. I'm looking outside right now. Well, first of all, I told you.
That we are going to give you information on Conan O'Brien being stalked by a priest. And we will. It's coming up. But, Eddie, what? This is crazier. What the hell? Crazier than Conan O'Brien being stalked by a priest. What's going on? Well, it's time to do Bizarre Foods with Boston Rob. Yeah! Eddie, what part of the world are we traveling to today? This week, we are going to Malaysia. Ooh, exotic. Very. Today, Boston Rob is going to be eating a food called durian. Sounds delicious. What is this he speak of? Well, let me play you a clip from the television show Bizarre Foods. Okay. Where the host of the show actually eats everything. He eats everything. He eats everything. He was not able to eat durian. Shut up. Come on, try it.
i'm getting psyched up forget but whatever you hear about the promotion they give to the fruits oh well they are well they are only fruits they are only fruits you don't have to worry okay it tastes like completely uh rotten mushy onions oh oh my god well that is your taste yeah no i i respect Everybody's right to enjoy what they want to enjoy. I eat a lot of weird stuff, believe me. I'm the king of eating weird stuff. So these are weird, right? More than weird. This is too much for me. I can't believe that after all the bizarre and strange foods I've eaten on this trip, that a fruit is the one food that really got to me. Hey, listen. Listen to me. Just like every time we do this.
Just like every time we do this, my heart's beating faster. My mouth is filling up with saliva. Rob, are you there? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's outside right now. I'm not excited, dude. Wait, wait, wait. Let me ask a question. Are these all the people from a promotion from down the hall coming over to watch? We have Boston Rob outside right now, and there's a promotion going on from another station. They've all come over to the window. to watch this because we couldn't even do this inside the station. Boston Rob is outside the station and people from the other show are coming to watch what's going on. Durian is supposedly supposed to smell so bad that it is outlawed in hotels, in trains, in buses because once you cut it open, the smell is so foul. that you, like, people freak out. Oh, my God. It permeates, like, any room that it goes into. Like, you can't get the smell out. Yeah, we were not allowed to do this inside the radio station. We had to do this outside the radio station. And so what we're looking at right now... Yeah. That was real, by the way. I swear that what I just did was real. Oh, yeah. I looked at it and it made me... Yeah. Dude, dude, okay, they, like, they cut the fruit because it's a fruit. So they cut it in half and you got to take out, like, the meat, which any fruit that has, like...
meat section, it kind of makes me weary. I'm going to describe what it looks like. It's the size of, I will say it's the size of, say, a very large cantaloupe. Or pineapple. Yeah, it reminds me of a pineapple. It looks like a pineapple a little bit. It does, but it's completely brown. And it's very thorny. Yeah, it's spiny. Spiny. I think you have the description there, too, if you want it. Yeah, let me read to you what they say about durian. Durian's origin is Southeast Asia, Malaysia. It's widely known and revered in Southeast Asia as, quote, the king of fruits. It is distinctive for its large size and unique odor. What a kind word. I don't like the sound of that. It varies in color from yellow to green. Not true. We got one, and it's brown. And has a very hard outer husk. The odor of the ripe fruit is very strong and penetrating, even when the husk of the fruit is still intact. Huh?
So it's when you cut it open that it's terrible. Now, I'm actually reading you text from a website describing it. Some say the odor is best described as pig feces. Shut your mouth! Turpentine and onion. Ah, sounds appetizing. It can be smelled from Yards away. Who's the first person to eat that? Right. Despite its great local popularity, the raw fruit is forbidden from some establishments such as hotels, subways, and airports. Wow. Including public transportation in Southeast Asia. Holy. The fruit has been opened up. Boston Rob is out there.
I'm starting to do the thing where I'm... Yeah, like you're salivating. I'm getting nervous and salivating. Dude, the inside looks like it's covered in mold. It looks like if you were to cut open a pineapple and it would be covered with mold on the inside. Yeah, it looks like it went bad. Like, are we sure this one's not bad? I think that's the way it's supposed to be. Hey, Rob, Rob, Rob. Oh, my God. Yeah. Oh, he almost threw up. Rob. Rob's got one of those... one of those plastic bowls that you put leftovers in. And Rob, put that leftover thing down and hold the fruit up so that I can look at it. Oh, that's disgusting. See how it looks all moldy? You know what's really weird about that? And I'm being completely serious. The inside of the fruit looks like an animal that's been dissected. It does. It really, really does. That's what the inside of the fruit looks like. Gross! This is crazy. I think you're right, Ashley.
Oh, man. Rob. It smells like if you ever driven through New Jersey. I haven't. I haven't. It looks like it has almost a creamy-ish texture. Oh, no. What is the texture? You're looking at it, Rob. What's that texture like? Oh, no. We have San Diego police officers that listen to the show that have driven up and want to see this. It literally, if it didn't stink so bad of like a dump in Jersey, it would look like it looks. It's pretty good. It looks like tapioca, but the scent's coming off of this. It does look like tapioca. All right. How's he going to eat it with that fork? I guess. Yeah. All right, Rob. I've already got it on my hands. Now I'm going to stink all day. Okay, Rob. Rob. Oh, and he's holding his cell phone with the same hands he's got it on. Listen, bro. Listen. The juice on. You are a big... Anthony O'Bredin's a big hero of yours. He loves this stuff. He says it tastes good. You are Anthony Bourdain right now, dude. You can do this. Are you getting him in the zone? Yeah, I got to talk about that. Okay, let me help you. Get in the zone. I think people are chanting for me. Yeah, for me. Pretend it's tapioca. Pretend it's tapioca. Don't smell it. Just don't smell it. Use just your taste buds. He's sticking the plastic fork into it now. What is it? He has stared. Oh, hold on. He has stared some of it. Hold on. It looks so close.
It's not tapioca. It's got texture of, like, bad meat where it kind of just, like, breaks away. Okay. Oh, no, thank you. Okay. Oh, he's getting it. He's getting it. Hey, I'm manning up. Hey, you know what's weird? They're yelling at him man up. These little 13-year-old girls are telling him to man up. Now, you know what's great about this? Hang on, Rob. Don't eat it yet. You know what's great about this? You know how every time he does this, when he eats the stuff, he starts shaking? He's already shaking. Oh, yeah. Big time. Rob, go ahead. Okay, Rob. You got this, bro. It tastes good. It tastes good. It tastes good. It just smells bad. Nothing is as bad as mudfish, right? Lots of protein. Nothing is as bad as mudfish. Here we go. He's putting it up to his mouth. It's in his mouth. He's chewing. He's chewing. Oh, no. Look at him. Oh, no. Oh, no. There may be some. Oh, dude. You got to swallow it, bro. Oh, you can tell that's tough. Uh-oh, there was a little gag right there. I got it. Rob, you got to swallow it, bro. You got it. Come on, we got faith. What does it taste like? What does it taste like? You got to swallow it. Hold on. Oh, God. He's crinkling his nose. Oh, there was a gag. He just gagged. Gag reflex. Yeah, hold on. He's leaning down. Oh, God. He's puking on the little girls. Watch out for the little girls. He threw up.
I'm cool. Hold on. No, no, no. I'm cool, dude. What did it taste like? You're cool. You just threw up. What do you mean you're cool? What did it taste like? Hold on. Like, you got a garbage disposal at home and you put a bunch of onions in there. Whatever else is in the house, I would imagine that's it. And maybe some bleach. You know, it's funny that he says that because in the description they say that it is like onions and turpentine. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get both of that. Like a chemical. Yummy. Holy Toledo. You need me to take another bite? No. I think you should put some on your Rice Krispies. Look it, he's just spitting now to get the taste out of his mouth. I don't think that's going to work. Nasty. I'm kind of disappointed that I don't feel like he really got any down because he threw up right away. Maybe you should take another bite, Ron. Yeah, have them take another bite. Wait a second. Oh, his face is deep red. Oh, throw up again. He's throwing up again. Oh, watery eyes. I got nothing in my stomach to throw up. Okay. Can you take another bite? Yeah. Look at the little girls are running away. Here he goes. Here he goes. It's like a... He's got a...
When you don't cook an egg all the way and it's like really runny, that's what it looks like right now. Take a bite. It's in his mouth. He's shaking. He's chewing. Oh, no. Oh, God. Dad. I'm cool, dude. Oh, no, you're not. I'm cool, dude. You do not look cool. How was it? Uh-oh. Here I come. Oh, skin. Tuck in my teeth. You know what? I've had worse. Stuck in his teeth, but he's had worse. That's normal. Shit. Look at him. Oh, no. Here it comes. Here it comes. Good night. I can't look anymore. I can't look to describe it anymore because I can't look. Okay. Thank you, Boston Rob. You've been listening to Bizarre Foods with Boston Rob. Today's treat durian. And don't go away. Oh, my God. Turpentine and rotting onions. Say what you have to say and shut up.

Mossy Nissan presents Tales of the Titan. My son Joey and I were out at the dunes in Glamis when we spotted this family bottomed out on a sand dune in their Chevy Silverado. My Nissan Titan had higher clearance than the Chevy, so I just hooked up some towing cables and I pulled him right off of that dune. I was proud of my Titan's V8, and Joey was proud of his old man. These freeways are pretty jammed up right now. We have a new accident in the North County involving a motorcycle here. It's on the westbound side of the 78 before Woodland Parkway, so watch for a backup around that. South 15, pretty slow now from the 78 through Escondido. That extends off and on. You're in and out of it. Over Lake Hodges down in towards Poway Road now in the Poway area. Heading south in the 5, that's quite a struggle from La Costa. And past a crash during your Birmingham Drive. And that continues to slow to the Lomas and I free drive in Solana Beach. Traveling out of Escondido, make that, I'm sorry, Santee on the westbound 52. Backed up from the 125s at the top of the summit. Westbound 8, also getting to see some heavier traffic now from Jackson Drive and La Mesa all the way to Lake Murray. Then again from Waring up to the 15 freeway. Traveling out of the South Bay, pretty toughness, 805 northbound. That's a solid slow one from H Street in Chula Vista all the way in the North Park. Backs up again from the 163 towards Governor Drive in the Golden Triangle. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show.
You guys make my morning so much better, I swear to God. This is The Mikey Show. I appreciate that, dude. That's very nice of you to say. What's going on? Oh, hell's breaking loose. Oh, no. Oh, no. The durian. It affected everyone. Geez. For goodness sake. What? There's like 50 pieces of audio going on at once. It's 737. And Jennifer Lopez confirmed at her concert last night in Miami that she is pregnant. After that 109-yard touchdown return, Antonio Cormardi was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. That was foul. Was foul. Was foul. came into the studio right now, I could smell it on him. That was so nuts, man. Boston Rob just ate something called durian, which is maybe the grossest thing he's eaten yet. It was just disgusting. Before we went to break, we said that we were going to tell you about Conan O'Brien. He's being stalked by a priest.
What is this about, Skye? Well, this priest, who's a priest part of the Archdiocese of Boston, has been arrested on charges of stalking Conan O'Brien for writing him threatening notes on parish letterhead, contacting parish letterhead, their official letterhead for the church, for contacting Conan's parents. and for showing up at the studio. Yeah, I guess in one of the notes, the priest referred to himself as, quote, your priest stalker, and then also went on to say, quote, is this the way you treat your most dangerous fans? End quote. Huh? Very weird. So this guy was arrested last week, and like Mikey said, Conan has yet to comment on this. Do they say where he's from and what place and all that stuff? Are the people that go to the church all freaked out? No, it just says he's a priest in the Archdiocese of Boston. What does he want?
I don't know. He keeps trying to get into tapings and obviously he keeps trying to get into communication with Conan through his parents, through these letters, but then says the weird, creepy, threatening stuff about being a stalker and being dangerous. I'm surprised Conan hasn't put him on the air. Yeah, no kidding. Probably can't. NBC probably put the kibosh on it. Yeah, when the police get involved. That's odd. Yeah, very odd. I think Boston Rob should have to answer to it. After all, he's from Boston. And he would, except that his eyes are watering. I get the worst breath right now. Oh, yuck. Ever, dude. Sean, how much to give Rob a smooch? That would never happen. I guess there's no amount of money that could get that done. Well, there's an amount, but you don't have it. That was really creepy. So you want to hear more of Dog the Bounty Hunter? Sure. Come on. Dog the Bounty Hunter on Larry King Live. He says he's going to take classes to learn a better vocabulary. He has an explanation as to why he said this to his son. Cut to this on Larry King Live last night. Cut to you. You didn't like her. You didn't like her for reasons that she would be bad for your son. Exactly right. Not because of her color of her skin. Then why use the word?
Because I referenced it, you know, back to the only word that I know that would, you know, hurt his feelings or, you know, catch his attention very fastly. Never as a prejudicial or a racial slur or anything like that. None of my other children, my little daughter nine, has never heard me say it. My daughter nine? My little... Daughter eight's younger. Oh, okay. Older, older. He has so many, he just, you know... Numbers them. That's smart. Calls them by numbers. He said that he was trying to get his son's attention very fastly. This is him talking about how he reacted when the tape was released. Cut three. You knew it was coming in the inquiry before the paper came out? I knew it came out the night the inquiry did not... They don't call you and say we're going to bomb your house, right? No, you knew it was out the night it came out. Yes, sir. You didn't know it was coming. I didn't know it was coming. How'd you react? I was like, oh, my God. At first, I thought, oh, my God. You know, well, people know it's the truth. I thought, you know, people know it's me. They know me. You didn't think anything would happen? Well, I knew it would happen, but I went, oh, my God. Here, I have to explain now why, you know, I think I'm cool with the black race. And I thought, I was thinking, God, America just wouldn't understand that. And then when it happened, I thought, you know, wait a minute. You know, people know me. They know that I'm not prejudiced and I'm not like that.
But the way it hit, I mean, every country, every station, everywhere. I mean, it's like, you know, I deserve it. I'm getting flogged, you know. This was worldwide. Yes, sir. P1J Black is on the phone right now. Hey, how you doing, Mikey? Good. What did you want to say? I just want to say that I think that we're focusing too much on... the word that he used rather than the context in which he used it. He was telling his son that he didn't want him with a black chick. You know what I mean? And I think that's what makes him a racist, not just the fact that he likes using the N-word. Okay, I think that's a good point. Yeah. Thank you. Skye, I think that you will find this next part interesting. Oh, no. Well, basically Larry is asking him if it was all right to use the N-word. You know, because he kind of does say, you know, I thought this was okay. Yeah. If it's all right to use the N-word, why didn't you call your preacher who's black that word? Oh, beautiful question. Which kind of goes into that whole thing of yesterday I said, I believe that in Dog's mind there are black people and then there's N-words. Yeah. Which is, by the way, something that Chris Rock has said in his comedy. But here is...
Dog being asked that question by Larry King last night. Cut four. Anyway, just for proper edification, Dog's spiritual advisor, the Reverend Tim Story, who is black, is standing by. He says he never heard you use the N-word. And if you didn't think it was wrong, why didn't you use it around him? Well, you know, he's the preacher. And I do know it's wrong. I mean, it's not a word that you should use. Even now, I've learned in private. I thought I was cool enough, Larry, to be able to use that word amongst black people at certain times. You're not going to get out, you know, in a black area and yell that because you're going to get busted up. Right. And I thought I was cool with the certain people that I know and love that are black that, you know, they can call me whitey and I can say, you know what I mean? I think that's the most honest clip I've heard yet. Yeah. Because he's, you know, this is what I said the other day. He's not very articulate, but and he's not very well spoken. But I think that there's a lot of things that you don't say in front of your preacher. I think that there's a lot of things that you say to your friends that you don't say in front of your black preacher. Your preacher, regardless of the color of his skin, is your preacher. And so things that you would say in a culture that are okay, you're not going to say in front of him. It shouldn't be the way you should always. Your goal in life should be able to be comfortable with your preacher.
hearing everything and i say this uh knowing that every once in a while my preacher lets me know something that he's heard me say and and in all honesty he never does it in a uh he never he's never never one time has miles ever say that he was disappointed or didn't like something that he heard he's never done that one time uh he'll sometimes say hey i heard that thing and that girl was real funny or that girl that bit was real funny or blah blah blah but i mean the bottom line is Yeah, I don't say that to my preacher because if I'm hanging out with my boys, there's a lot of stuff I would say that I'm not going to say in front of him. I mean, it doesn't make it right. I think that was the most honest he's been. Yeah, definitely. Did you guys know that he talked to a lot of very influential people in the black community since this happened? For instance, Al Sharpton's daughter. Really? Cut six. I think they're going to take you back. No, it's up to America. I'm like in the judgment seat now. I mean, it's up. I want to come back. I'm going to some classes with Tony Robbins. I got my preacher with me. I'm going to meet with the core group. I have met some fantastic black people. I talked to Mr. Enos and his son. I talked to Al Sharpton's daughter. I mean, I've met some influential people that have said to me, dog, you need one-on-one tutoring.
How's he going to learn how to be successful? You're right. Random. That was as random as it gets, man. I've met with Regis Feldman. I've met with Susan Powder. Oh, good, good. I met with Jared, the subway guy. Richard Simmons was great. Yeah, one of the trainers from The Biggest Loser. Lyle Lovett. And Sting. Yeah, collectively, this is what they've said. You know, Lyle and Sting kind of disagree on a couple of sticking points, but I think we'll get it worked out. Larry read an email from a woman whose black son dressed as Dog the Bounty Hunter for Halloween. Cut nine. Email question from Lori in Windsor, Ontario. My son went out on Halloween as you, Dog, dressed as you. When we came home, this story about your rant was all over TV. My son is black.
any advice how to explain to him that you're not a hero well uh i don't know about being a hero i don't didn't want to be that but if he went out there as me i'm proud of that and that uncle dog has learned there are certain words that you can never use there are certain words for instance you can't yell i've got a bomb in an airport there are certain words in the english language that you cannot use and the n-word is one of them and that's Any child at all, you will not and cannot use that word. Now he sounds like a public service announcement. You know what I mean? Aren't you saying that just because you got caught? He's like, hi, I'm Dog the Bounty Hunter, and I just want to say, don't use the N-word. And I'm playing black music to illustrate that. I'm very against the using of derogatory terms. So stupid. It does. It sounds like a public service announcement now. Cut 10.
Do you believe you're a racist? I've arrested racists. I know what they believe and how they believe. Bounty-handed racists? I'm bounty-handed racists. I'm on the list for a couple supremacist groups. And I've bounty-handed racists in other colors besides Caucasian. And they're proud to be that. And, you know, if they were in this seat, they would tell you that they are. I mean, they're not undercover racists. There's no such thing. What does he mean that he was on lists of white supremacists? The guest list. Yeah. He was on the guest list of white supremacists? Maybe on their target list is what I assumed he was maybe trying to get on. Does he hate his son for being a traitor? Cut 12. How mad are you? Well, I'm glad you said that. You know, I went to the Lord and said, you know, Lord, forgive him because he doesn't know what he's doing. You know, how mad can you get at your own kid? You can't hate him. You can't. Hate him. I'm disappointed and wonder where, did that traitor stuff come from prison? Did that, you know, where do you learn to be a traitor at? Do you think he did it to hurt you or he needed money? Well, I think that he figured his father would not be as hurt as bad as it did, but I know for sure he needed money. We got P1 Jessica on the line. Are you there, Jessica? What up, Mikey? What's going on? Oh, not much. Just wanted to put my two cents in. Go ahead.
All right. Now, before you all start calling me a racist, hear me out. Now, if he's a racist or not, so what? He shouldn't have said what he said. His thoughts are his own. But bottom line is he's not out committing hate crimes. And secondly, he's getting criminals off the street. I think the media is just absorbing this as much as they can because they can. But he's not causing a physical harm to our society. If anything, he's been kind of helping us out. Eddie, what do you think? Well, the bottom line is he can still do that. Nobody's taking away his job. He's losing his television show. Because that makes him a public figure. That makes him a public figure, which the media can absolutely jump on. Which is true, yeah. That's very true. But I think he's getting a lot of crap as a person. He can still be a bounty hunter. He can still do his job. Nobody's taking that away from him. But nobody wants him on TV if he's going to make racial slurs. Which is understandable. Yeah, that is understandable. Thank you, Jessica. I appreciate it. Right on. Have a good one, you guys. P1 Ernesto. Are you there, Ernesto? Ernesto, are you there? Yes. Go ahead. I was just listening to your show about the dog, the bunny hunter. Uh-huh. And everybody's thinking, you know, maybe he said this in like a racial way and everybody's on him and they canceled him or whatever. Uh-huh. I think he was just mad and he was just using that word as like a fighting word type.
on that girl or her son's nerves just to, like, to get to a point, you know, hey, I don't like this. I mean, I've been to prison, and actually, I've done the same thing, but I've called people that were colored, you know what I'm saying? I've called people that were white, Mexican, Asian, that word, just because I didn't like them, because I wanted to fight at that instant. I was just mad. Thank you for the call. The bottom line with Dog, the bounty hunter, is that when you hear what he said in the original message, Sean, do you still have the original message? Yeah, let me grab it. When you hear what he said in the original message, it's so shocking that the first thing that you do is you get angry. It's so shocking that it makes you angry. The question you have to ask yourself is, do you believe the dog, the bounty hunter, is racist? Got it. And we'll play the clip, and then I'll continue. Go ahead. I'm not taking a chance on some mother****er. I don't care if she's a Mexican, a whore, whatever. It's not because she's black. America would think we mean young kids. You cannot work.
here unless you break up with her and i'll tell you it is so the issue of people using the word is so complex and it's so uh confusing and there's a lot of things that go into the confusion of it a some black comedians still use a word and have been using the word for a long time which blurs lines it's like dropping a rock into a still pond when you do that everything's disturbed now Same with rappers. Same with rappers. Okay, so you have that element of it. Then you have the element of it of people that use the word and they mean it and it's hateful and they're like, they're the most diabolical racist you could think of. Okay, so those are two different, very different ways of using the word. Then you have the element of Dog the Bounty Hunter, who I think is one of these guys who doesn't,
have a hatred for black people, but he doesn't like what he thinks are N-words. Those are two different groups of people to him. The problem is that it doesn't matter how you use it. If you use it in America, forget it, bro. It's game over. It doesn't matter why you're doing it, what you're doing it about. If you use it in America, it's over. There's even more of that stuff, man. We'll have to get to it in a bit. David Copperfield is being sued. So apparently it's gotten worse for David Copperfield. I'll tell you why next. Well, hopefully you are. Now here's something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show. Boston Rob, he wrote a song. I told him that, well, first of all, he pitched the idea, and I said no. He pitched the idea of doing a song about the Red Sox winning the World Series. It's an important thing in a lot of people's lives. I guess he did it anyway. Yeah, come on, come on. Let's not hear it.
That can't be for real. Keep it going. Driveway, flip it over, throw a brick through your own car. Hey, you can't say that. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Hey, Mikey, you guys are right about the song. That song is stupid and no one cares about the Red Sox. Take votes online. You guys are great, but I'll turn the radio off every time that song plays. Dumb. P1A, Rod. Yeah. So, uh... Oh, there's one vote. Oh, yeah. We got a ton of people called in, said they loved that song. It was like their favorite B-Rob song ever. So I'm not sure what to make of it now. Welcome back to the show. It is 8.04. O.J. Simpson will be in court today in Las Vegas for a preliminary hearing in his armed robbery case. This has to be one of the biggest upsets in college basketball history. Little-known Garner Webb College beat the 22-ranked
Kentucky Wildcats, 84-68. Whoa. It's kind of been like that, right? Well, it's been like that in college football. This is the beginning of college basketball, and it's happening still, so it's just weird. John Lovitz is going to be in the studio with us this hour, and most people remember John Lovitz as this character, Cut 47. Beautiful women are all over me, 24 hours a day. Yeah. Nights, too. Yeah. You see, it all started when I was living in Kentucky. China. Yeah, you love me in China. In fact, that's why I had to leave. Yeah, I was causing the population explosion. Yeah, that's it. Why do you think people always say the Chinese all look alike? Because they all look like me. That was the pathological liar character. He was also on the show Friends, playing bit parts on the show Friends.
One of my favorite shows ever on HBO, The Larry Sanders Show. I think he played himself when he was on The Larry Sanders Show, right? Probably. Cut 49. I can't believe you're willing to walk off the show for me. I mean, that proves that you're nothing like the other guys in the business I dated. No, I'm not. I like my character in City Slickers, too. I'm very open. I'm very honest. Very honest. That's why it was so easy for me to play. I was very good in it. Have you seen it? Yeah, you were great. That was very good. He is opening up a comedy club here in San Diego. So I can't wait to talk to him about it. Yeah, I want to hear those details. Okay, the other humongous thing is he beat up Andy Dick. Crazy. Yeah, the guy got into a fight with Andy Dick. Here he is talking about it. Cut 50. He's just a pure...
Unadulterated jerk. And Lovitz is talking about the fight for the first time, telling Extra the full story behind the long-simmering battle that exploded into a violent brawl at Hollywood's Laugh Factory last week. I shoved him a couple of times vigorously against the wall. Beth's showing nudie photos of herself with a paper bag over... John claims the feud began 10 years ago when he accused Dick of re-addicting Phil Hartman's wife Brynn to cocaine just months before she murdered his old Saturday Night Live pal. He's trying to say now that Brynn gave him cocaine because he's a pig and that's not what happened and everybody knows it. And it turned even uglier when the two bumped into each other at a restaurant a year ago. And he looks at me and goes, I put the Phil Hartman hex on you, you're the next one to die. Somebody's been in the news lately. Then Dick turned up at Lovitz's regular Wednesday night Laugh Factory stand-up performance. I just waited for him to say he was sorry and he didn't. And I lost my temper, you know. And Lovitz had a warning for Dick, whose troubled past includes DUI and drug arrests. And if I see him again, I would do the same thing. I just think he should avoid me like the plague. Wow. So he's coming in here. Nice. And we're going to talk to him about it. Craziness. One of the weirdest things ever, man. I can't wait to... You know, I want to hear the story from like...
Beginning to end. Yes. How that went down. It is just nuts, man. So anyway, he's coming in here. And we're going to be talking to him about it here in just a little bit. Sky has the 10 silliest British laws. Yeah. The law against dentistry has got to be the number one law. The weird law. Hundreds of years. How they don't let dentists into the country. Wham members in public restrooms. Is that one of the silly laws? No, that's not on the list. You can't do that. No, it's not like that. Okay, so it is illegal to die in the House of Parliament. So don't do that or you'll get arrested. But you're dead. Oh, okay. Well, it's an act of treason to place a postage stamp bearing the British monarch upside down. Definitely don't do that. Really? So if you did it like a mistake, you get in trouble? Treason. An act of treason. It's an act of treason. If you didn't know. Yeah. Did our mistake. In Liverpool, it's illegal for a woman to be topless except if she's a clerk in a tropical fish store. That's the law here too, right? Yeah. That, by the way, is only in Liverpool. Yeah. Which is weird. That's crazy! It's the guys from Liverpool. Oh, topless. They recorded topless. Arrested. They were working at a fish shop.
pies cannot be eaten on christmas day so don't even think about it what is that a mince pie it's delicious that sounds yummy yeah uh in scotland if someone knocks on your door and asks to use the bathroom you must let them enter in scotland yes if you're using the restroom if somebody knocks on your front door of your house and asks to use your bathroom by law you have to let them is that right yes can you imagine not at all That's not worth it. I'd go to jail. A pregnant woman can legally relieve herself anywhere she wants, including in a policeman's helmet. This is so stupid. That's a real law, though. Yeah. These are all from real laws. Oh, my God. The head of any dead whale found on the British coast automatically becomes property of the king and the tail becomes property of the queen. Duh. It is illegal to avoid telling the town. anything you don't want him to know, but it's legal not to tell him stuff that you don't mind him knowing. It's illegal to enter the House of Parliament in a suit of armor. I would do it just for the thrill. There goes my summer vacation. And then finally, in the city of York, it is legal to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls, but only if he's carrying a bow and arrow. Wow. Thank you.
really awesome. It's crazy. Lovitz is coming up. He's going to be in the studio. Hey, I have info on how you can be in a Star Trek movie. Whoa. I'm down, Sean. I'm down. Coming up next. The ride's been pretty tough this morning. It looks like things are breaking up in some spots, but man, you still got the fog out there to deal with, and it is pretty heavy.
Right now, North 305 has got some scattered stuff from Plaza Boulevard off and on in through North Park. Once you get towards Mesa College, though, man, it's a solid slow in here, all the way to Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. North Bond 5 stays quite heavy, though, out of Chula Vista up to National City, then again in towards downtown. And then another slowdown out of Old Town now into Mission Bay. On the West 94 King Freeway, that's looking a lot better now, finding traffic developing right around the 15 connector. And from there, it is a slow ride into downtown. Traveling out of the East County on the westbound 8, punched up stuff from Waring to the 15, and again from the 805 Intermission Center Road. West 52, looking nice out of Santee. Once you get it toward the 15, it starts to back up here, and then again from the 805 into Rose Canyon toward the 5 Freeway. There's an accident near Regent's Road in this area that's causing a bit of a delay there. South 15, staying in Tuftale, but you're looking fine out of Escondido until you get to Rancho Bernardo. And then from there, it struggles all the way down to Mercy Road. And the coaster ride, Southbound 5, slow and go from La Costa. All the way to Manchester. Femmerick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Is that a true story? Yes. Cricket? Come on, is that true? Yes. I just heard something that's really outrageous. But I can't say it on the air because you can't say it on the air. It's illegal. Cricket Wireless is the greatest. The reason, well, first of all, they have a mascot that is an actual cricket. A friend of ours. Right. He's Hispanic. He's Hispanic and his name is Pedro.
And the cool thing about Pedro is that he's very loyal. He'll be a really good friend to you. The bad thing about Pedro is he really doesn't have a filter when it comes to texting you at any time and night. And he knows that it's free. Yeah, because you get the unlimited texting. So he'll just text you all day, all night. And you start getting pictures from him because those are free too. Did you get the pictures where he wanted to document his entire trip to Ensenada and he knew it was free? Yeah. And so I got 1,700 picture messages. I was over it. Yeah, like I don't need 15 pictures of the same margarita in different stages of drinking. Yeah, that's right. I'm good. We had to watch the margarita get... Yeah, but thank you. Thank you, Pedro, but it gets a little annoying after the 1,600. But it was all free, so what are you going to do? Texting is free with Cricket. Picture messaging is free. And your first month is... There's a lot of free words here. I like it. Your first month is free when you sign up. Sky, what's the website? MyCricket.com slash San Diego. Broadcasting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. Mikey Morning Show. That is a far out... State me IOC. San Diego's Rock. Back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I put things off. I do like to put things off until the last minute. Eddie. That's what she said. Save that clip. Sean. I don't often drink milk, but when I do, I have to salt it. Boston Rob. I got ideas, man. They're worth money. Ashley. I don't know anything about that. Save that clip. Save that clip. You will save that clip. I will not. Rock 105. We'll be Kaye. Isn't that what Bruce Willis says in the first Die Hard movie? That's Yippee Kaye. Her sister. Did you hear in the beginning of the song, she goes, will you count me in? Yes. It's like the stupidest part of the song. And what are we counting her in on? I guess somebody asked her, like she was on a radio show and somebody asked her, what are we counting in? Cut 42. To be honest, I don't really understand why we kept it. Because when I wrote the song, I played the guitar a little bit differently. So my producer, Michael...
He played the guitar on the album. And so it was at a different timing. I was like, dude, I kept coming in at the wrong spot. I was like, will you count me in? And then he stopped. He's like, that was cute. He's like, I'm going to keep that on there just for the demo. I was like, okay, sure. I mean, I didn't really understand why. And then once we put it on MySpace, we couldn't take it off because people were so used to it and they liked it. I hate it. It's the worst part of the song. Oh, I think it's so cute. You know why I didn't like it? Because I thought that she did mean something and I didn't know what it was and that was annoying. You didn't know what that meant? Like a secret message. Count me in. Really? You knew what that meant? Oh, you knew that it meant like timing wise. Like five, six, seven, eight. Yeah. I believe she knew it. Yeah, dancers do that.
Not like count me in, like come on. How come when I brought it up before you've never said that? Thank you. I knew you brought up that you thought it was annoying, but I've never heard you say you didn't know what it meant. And you just assumed you knew that I meant a five, and a six, and a seven, and an eight. And a one, and a two, and a three, and a four. Why are you doing it in that voice? Please stop. Of course I understood. The first time I heard it, I was like, I'll count you in. And a one, and a two, and a three. Well, no, with music, you count. I don't think that was... I mean, you guys are so stupid. I mean, I could have explained... Well, basically, the world didn't know what it was. She just had to explain to the world what it was. But you guys are numbskulls. Well, I always say after the fact. After it's already said, then I say, yeah, duh. Well, hello. But, I mean, God forbid I say it beforehand. Well, I didn't know you guys didn't know. I thought you just thought it was annoying. Because that's what you said. You said you thought it was annoying. I wish I would have asked sooner. Yeah. It would have explained a lot of things to me. Yeah. I would have understood. Country music. Oh, wait a minute. The Star Trek movie. I said that I would tell you exactly how you can get into a Star Trek movie. They're like asking. Well, first of all, they're looking for people like me.
If you are a strange-looking person, they say, they would like for you to audition for a role in the new Star Trek movie. I could do that. Auditions are going to be in Burbank this Saturday, and they're looking for people. They say they're especially seeking talent with interesting and unique facial features, such as a long neck, a small head, a large head, wide-set eyes, bug eyes, close-set eyes, large forehead, short upper torso. pronounced cheekbones, or oversized ears and or nose. What about these unattractive people like me? Well, you've got some good lobes. You could go show them your lobes. I have really unusual lobes. John Lovitz is in the studio. Thank you, thank you. John, it is good to have you here. Before you got in here, we were doing a retrospective of your work. We were kind of going through the process. My favorite stuff is anything Larry Sanders related. Love the Larry Sanders show and loved you playing yourself on the Larry Sanders show. Which, by the way, I still wish it was on TV. I still wish that he wanted to keep making the show because it was brilliant. Yeah, I had a lot of fun doing it. Gary's a great comedian and great writer. And you guys are pretty good friends, right? Yeah. You got to know each other. Yeah, I knew him before I did the show. And with that show in particular, I kind of got the feeling that a lot of those,
guest appearances were buddies of his and Gary would just say, hey, come on the show. Let's do this. It'll be fun. Yeah. And that's kind of how it was. It was fun. Yeah. And you got to, I always thought it was like I had to practice my acting because you're playing, you know, it's scripted, but you're playing yourself at the same time. And the style of the show is very, it was almost like a documentary. Right. So it's kind of a challenge to do that kind of acting and it was fun. Now, did they, would they basically just say, here's the premise, let's go with it? Is that the deal? No, it was all written. Everything was all written out? Yeah. Holy Toledo. Oh, wow. I thought that you guys just kind of ad-libbed everything with that show. Well, that's good. That's good. That's acting. That's acting. We did. You were doing a great job. So, yeah, John Lovitz in the studio. And the cool thing is that, John, you're opening up a comedy club right here in San Diego. Yeah, it's called the John Lovitz Comedy Club. It's at Aubergine on 4th and Island. I partnered up with this guy, Frank Kelly, who manages the improv at Irvine. And he's really, he's the best manager of any comedy club in the country. So it's going to be great. We're getting all the comedians. I'll be there tonight, Friday, and Saturday at 9 o'clock. And then next week, we've got this guy, Chris Porter, who was on. Oh. Yeah, he's there Thursday and Friday. And then David Spade will be there Saturday. Wow. Everyone's doing it. And then next week, we've got this guy, Joe Coy. He's a great comedian.
He's got a special on Comedy Central. He's got a series on Comedy Central. He's one of the best comedians. I think it was the Montreal... I don't know what it was. The cool thing is... The comedy festival in Canada. He's great. Yeah, we're getting all these great... All the top guys. And I know exactly where that is. That's right by Ocean Air Restaurant. So how can you get tickets to these shows? Is it just at your box office? No, you can buy tickets at the box office or go to TicketWeb.com. We're going to give away tickets, too. And also on MySpace, this is the John Lovitz Comedy Club. There's a link there. Yeah, it's really exciting. And Aubergine, they've been great. They have a great restaurant and food. And, you know, you can come eat dinner there, then come see the show. And there's no comedy clubs. There's one in La Jolla. But other than that, there aren't any. In fact, Eddie and I have talked about that a lot. In San Diego. Yeah, we've talked about that a lot because when we were in San Jose, we came to San Diego from San Jose. They had the improv in San Jose. And there was actually just a lot of comedy clubs in the Bay Area in general. But when we came to San Diego, there's not really a lot in the way of comedy clubs. And so this is going to be kind of cool.
The Comedy Store has one in La Jolla, which is, you know, great. Pauly Shore runs it, and he's a great guy. And we're doing this one in the Gaslamp District. So there's no, like, if you know the guy, there's no ill will. This isn't, like, competition. With Pauly? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I like him. He's a great guy. And so there's no, like, weird competition of, like, having another place in town, right? I don't think so, no, because La Jolla is 20 minutes away, and it's a different part of town. The John Lovitz Comedy Club. uh the grand opening is happening november 8th 9th and 10th and i will be there it's at uh nine o'clock at night because i i love comedy and i love the idea of it how did it come up where you you know got the opportunity to do this because when we mentioned it i said that'd be like one of my dreams man to open up a comedy well i i play i i started doing stand about three years ago and and then i i headlined at the improv in irvine that's where i met frank kelly and then we became friends and And I said, well, what do you really want to do? He goes, I'd like to open up my own clubs someday, a chain of clubs. So I said, well, I'll do it with you. Let's do it. And I tried to bring them into different things, and they didn't work out. And then he said to him, he goes, you know, a club in San Diego would be great. There's no clubs there. So we went down and looking at buildings, and I saw something online for an office, and I saw a realtor's number. So I called, and we looked at different spaces. And then about a month later, the realtor, they called Frank and said, hey, Aubergine's looking to do something.
you know, Aubergine's a big club and they have this back room. But the back room, it's not a room, it's a theater. I mean, they used to do plays there and it's got a stage and it holds over 400 people and it's got a raised area. And it's just, it's really for a club of this kind. It's the best space I've ever seen. Because usually in clubs, and they're all nice, but usually the people, there's people sitting on the sides of the stage too. So you have to keep turning to them and they kind of feel left out. Whereas this place, everyone's right in front of you. So every seat's great. You're looking right at the, And you don't really have to, you know, you turn your head an inch to either side. But basically, everyone's right there looking at you. And it's a nice space. It's got high ceilings. There's a bar in the room. I mean, it's a big, you know, at night, it's a big dance club. Right, right. Now, you could also check out John's MySpace. It's myspace.com slash Lovett's Comedy Club. When you were on Saturday Night Live, I...
I'm assuming that you were doing stand-up comedy and that's the way you were discovered by Lorne Michaels? No, I was in the Groundlings Theater and doing sketches and improv. And Lorraine Newman saw me in a show there and she befriended me and recommended me to Lorne. And then I was in there, we got in the Tonight Show and I got an agent, I got a movie with Charles Grodin, and then he recommended me to Lorne. So those two really helped me get the show a lot. So stand-up comedy to you is something... I barely got the show. Al Franken goes, he said, you were everything we were... we were not looking for in one person. But you were funny. For real? Yeah. I swear. So that means that... So this stand-up comedy thing, you haven't been doing for very long. No, I was going to do it. I used to do Woody Allen and Lenny Bruce's routines in my dorm. And then right after college, I was going to do it. And a guy teaching this workshop to teach stand-ups said they're not hiring stand-ups for sitcoms. And I realized years later, they weren't hiring him. But I always wanted to do it. And yes, I figured I'll skip that step. I guess I was wrong. I wasn't. But then I got Saturday Night Live and then Dennis Miller said, oh, you should be a stand-up. You could do it. And I'd go with him to Catch a Rising Star and Club of New York. And I'd get up. I would be so nervous in my heart. You'd just feel it pounding in my chest. And I just...
You know, I'd be on SNL, I'd meet Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams. I'd go, you think I could be a stand-up? They'd go, yeah, yeah, you could do it. You could do it. Right. And they were like the top two stand-ups in the country at the time, you know. But I never did it. And Dana Carvey, who's a great stand-up, he always said, you could do it, you know. You have an act, you don't even know it. But it just seemed overwhelming. You go into a club, you see a guy kill, it looks so easy. You go, I could do that. Then you see a guy get up, and he's bombing. And you feel horrible for him, and you just start sweating, going, oh my God, this is like... The girl behind you in the studio behind you, she's our assistant producer. Her name's Ashley. She went to see Joe Rogan performing Friday night, and she said he was getting killed by the audience. She said it got to the point where...
There was no control. Like, everybody was screaming. Everybody was doing this stuff. And she said that Joe just had to kind of go into attack mode to kind of get the room back. The idea of that, to me, is petrifying. I mean, I can't even imagine what it would be like to be a comedian on stage. Because you get the yahoos every once in a while. It's got to be tough. Well, you know, you get heckled and you know what to say. I mean, that's like... It's kind of easy, actually. If you're good, you know what to say. Like Michael Richards. Well, no, it's easy for any comedian because that's all you did for years. You've got to be a pro. You learn to survive or whatever. Someone would say something and you'd come back at them. You've got to be a professional, though. Not really. I went to all-boys school or high school. Not by choice. But anyway, I went there. Hello. And so everybody was afraid of being thought of being gay, so they acted extra tough. You know, because there weren't a girl, and they called each other by their last name, and everyone was cutting each other down all the time. So I have four years of practice, so it doesn't... Like I said, you can't beat me. I got a microphone and a wit, and, you know, too much experience. And after a while, the crowd, you can get the crowd to turn on the guy.
Yeah, that's it. I think I agree with Ashley. You've got to be good, man. If you're new and you're just giving it a shot, you could probably get killed by it. You'll get eaten alive. But if you learn the craft, you figure out... Well, you've got to learn how to do it. It doesn't happen in a day. You're just a proton. But on MySpace, I have a blog on career advice. And I give advice on how to start being a stand-up and how to audition and everything. That's cool. Check it out. John Lovitz is in the studio. John, the club is gorgeous, man. Wow. The club is beautiful. We just saw pictures of the club. It's beautiful. How about that bathroom? Well, that's aubergine. I can't take credit. Yeah, the bathroom is great. Gorgeous. Rich mahogany. But that's aubergine. It's their club. So we're like a club within a club. Yeah. That's cool. Yeah, it is. No, I was just getting emails from people that said the food's real good. It's a cool place to hang out. Now, the grand opening is going to be November 8th, 9th, and 10th. Tonight. Yep, tonight's the 8th. Is it already the 8th? The reason I was like, oh, it's like July 1st today. The doors open at 7. The show starts at 9. Oh, my. That's tonight. Yeah. Good times. Whoa. Yeah, push it. Tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday. That's pretty cool. What's this thing right here, this little camera I got next to me? Am I on it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's so that our guy in San Francisco can see you. Say hi, Sean. That's a better angle. Our sound effects guy is in the Bay Area. Sean, give us an example of what you do. Oh, sure. This is the ghetto portion of the show. Thank you. That's Sean. Oh, that's a great angle. Where is he? He's in the Bay Area. San Francisco. Your sound guy's in San Francisco? They connect by satellite every day. You want to know why?
He's a germaphobe. Do you see that room he's in? This is a true story. And the camera. Show him on the camera. You see that? He's in San Francisco. True story. But you only air in San Diego? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Is that weird? We worked with him. No, it's not weird that you only air in San Diego, but the sound guy's in San Francisco? Yeah, we worked with him in the Bay Area, and when we moved here, he wouldn't come. He wouldn't physically come here with us. Because he's a, look at the room he's in. Sky, turn the thing around. It's not a big deal. You see the room that he's in by himself? Like a clean room? Or medically sealed. Well, I think that, and he probably likes living in San Francisco. I'm telling you, John. With his partner. It was such a, I'm telling you, I'm telling you, it's not about living in San Francisco. It's not about living in San Francisco. The guy's a germ-a-phobe. When he comes here and does like, every once, two times a year, we'll do something here where it's real big. and he has to come here, and it's a nightmare for him. If we got my wife on the phone right now, she would tell you what she has to do to the room that he stays in at our home for him to come there. To prep it. And she puts a note on the door for my parents and everyone. Everybody comes to visit that says, this room has been shaunitized. And so you can't go in there. When he comes to visit, he has like a little pack of his own little spray things. Is that him saying okay? Yeah. Yes.
I know it sounds like... Can we hear him on the radio? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, so the audience hears him going, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a freak. He's not a freak, but he's a strange person. He's a strange person. Comedy club. So if I'm touching the camera right now, is he freaking out? Well, let's not. Let's... Sorry. He's not freaking out, but I guarantee you that if he were here right now, this would be the absolute worst situation for him, having a guest come in. Because guests like to shake hands. Maybe germs. That is the truth. We were talking off the air, and I told him, I said, we're going to hit it, and we're going to move on. But I wanted to talk to him because what I found, one of the reasons that I find John so interesting is because he's one of the most honest people I've ever heard. And he's good friends with Dennis Miller, who's got his own radio show. When the thing happened with Andy Dick, you went on to Dennis' show. You also did, did you do Tom Green's internet show? No, Andy did. Okay, that was the Andy thing. But there was a, and it was very, very serious business. Because when it first happened, I thought, is it a publicity stunt? Is it something like that? It wasn't. It was all very real, the stuff that happened between you and Andy.
You went on Dennis Miller's show, because you guys are friends, and you told him the story. The deal was that years ago, Andy had upset you because he had given cocaine to Bryn, who was Phil Hartman's wife. And it upset you. You told him about it. Well, Phil told me. They're at a Christmas party, and then Phil told me about it. Years later or immediately after? A couple months later because he'd done that. I never mentioned it before, but after what he said to me, I said, you know what, that's it. I only mentioned it because what happened in the club, I mean, we had a thing and I lost my temper, but then I never talked to the press about it, but someone did. Page six of the post, they knew everything that happened. Well, now with the camera phones and all that stuff. No, I think the owner of the club, I told him what happened. I think he called him and told him. Because he wanted the publicity. I think so, which is idiotic. I love the guy, Jamie, but that was dumb. Did... So, you know, the room was full of people. No one saw it happen except the bodyguard. But then the next thing I know on Monday that...
The post goes, we know they knew everything and they're going to run with the story. So I figured, well, I better tell them the truth. Well, you were true to your word because you had told him, listen, if I see you, it's going to be bad. And you kind of were true to your word. I mean, you told the guy. Well, I didn't tell him. No, what happened? Well, he just said a horrible thing to me. And I said, if I ever see him again, I'm going to smash his head. To myself, I said that. Oh, you didn't say it to him. You had said it to yourself. Yeah, but then he came into my club a year later, or the Laugh Factory was performing, and I saw him. And when I saw him, I was on stage. I was mad because it was my night to do my show, and the next thing I know, he's on stage. But they put him up. He came in the club, and they put him up. I said, you don't know what he's going to do. I mean, the guy pulls his pants down, and you don't know. Right. But then when I saw him, I wasn't mad. I just reminded him of what he said. He goes, I remember saying that, and he was, like, smiling. You know, a normal person would have said, oh, I don't remember, but if I said that, I'm sorry. Right. But you didn't. And then he goes, well, you know why I said it, da-da-da. And then I just said, well, why would you bring that up? It was ten years ago. And then he goes, anyway, you do a part in my movie. And then I... That's when I lost my time. You do a part in my movie? Yeah, I don't know. And I just took him by the shirt. I said, I don't want to be in your movie. I don't want to be in your life. I don't have anything to do with you. And I shoved him against the wall, and then he...
He smiled again. So then it got me really mad. So then I just slammed him against his head and back against the wall really hard. And that was it. And then they broke it up. I mean, it wasn't like a fight. The thing that was most memorable about it to me when you were recalling the story. I'm not proud of it, by the way. You know, I lost my temper. But like I always say, it wasn't a fair fight. I'm 5'10", 190. He's a girl. Sean, do you still have the audio of the sound that John recalled Andy making? Yeah. Yeah, that was it. It was one of the... There it is. It is easily one of the funniest sounds. We play that all the time. That has turned out to be one of our biggest sound effects ever. Have you seen him since? No, you've never seen him since then? No, if I saw him again, I'd start swinging. Oh, absolutely I would. Wait a minute. But wait, I thought that once it happened, it was over. No, if he walked in right now, I would get up and smash his face. Now, wait a second. That means that it didn't get resolved, John. It didn't get resolved when you saw him. No, I only got to push him twice. And the bodyguards broke it up. Yeah.
My question is, what is still... He said to me, he goes, I put the Phil Hartman hex on you. You're the next one to die. Now, he was wasted when he said that, right? I mean, I would assume he was wasted. Well, he came back... Isn't he always? Yeah. Yeah, but he knew what he was saying. He leaned into me. He said he didn't remember saying it, and he goes, well, you know why I said it. Where did that happen? Where did that happen? At this restaurant that I'm partnering. He just came in and drank. Someone bought us some drinks, and he just drank them down without saying a word. He walked over and picked it up and just did it? Yeah. He's a jerk. So you're sitting at the table with somebody enjoying a meal. Yeah, and someone just bought us these... Peach liqueur is at the table next to us. Delicious. And I go, your friend Andy's here. And I looked up. I go, hi, Andy. And he doesn't say anything. He just takes both of them and chugs them down. What? Oh, my gosh. Now, the worst part of it is, A, it's rude, but B, it's embarrassing because you're sitting with someone that you know. Yeah. And so what do you do? What do you do? No, we can't say that. Sorry. We can't say that. It's all right. It's all right. But you say, hey, you're a jerk. And then does he just leave immediately? No. I stood up and said, you jerk. And whatever I said, you a-hole. And then he, and then.
And then he just looked at me smiling with his drink dripping down his chin. He goes, I put the Phil Hartman hex on you. You're the next one to die. Now, did anyone else besides you hear that? I don't know. No, I don't think so. He said it very soft, but he said it again. And I looked at his friend and I said, get him away from me right now. Because right then I said, all right. He said it again. So now I'm thinking, all right, I'm going to hit him. You know, he'll fall on top of this woman, and she'll get hurt, and she'll be cut up, and it's an arrest, and I'm a partner, and, you know, John, you can't have fights. So they got him out of there, and then I got him banned from the restaurant. The thing that's so disturbing about it is how innately evil of a thing to say. It's so evil. It's just such a, it's not, like you get when somebody's saying something and they're trying to be funny. That's not funny. It's just evil. It's creepy. It's creepy. Right. And so that was the last that you saw of him until that night. Well, then a year later, yeah. You saw him a year later. But you remembered it. It's the worst thing. Well, sure. It's the absolute worst thing he could have said to me. Yeah. Phil was the greatest guy in the world. And he was like my brother. And we were very close. And, you know, we're like brothers, you know. And I was, you know, for 14 years. And, you know, he was murdered, you know. And I was depressed about it. It looked to him like five years to get over it.
And actually, I finally realized, I go, hey, I'm still alive. I've got to do something. And that's when I started doing stand-up. But it's still horrible. You know, I think about it every day, and it doesn't go away. Now, do you believe that if Andy Dick wasn't alive, that wouldn't have happened? None of that would have gone down the way that it did? No, I don't blame him for what she did, but I do. But Phil blamed him for, you know, bringing Coke to his house and sharing it with his wife. Who had been sober. Yeah. Now, it was her responsibility that she did it, you know, yes. Mm-hmm. But Phil was furious with him, you know. Mm-hmm. And that's kind of what started her spiral. Well, that is what started it. Wow. It flat out is what started it. Yeah. Now. Wow. That's not kind of what started it. It is. And for. I mean, this is from Phil. He told me. And other friends of mine, you can, you know, her best friend knows about it. Other friends. We all know. Mm-hmm. And I guess. It's not just me. There has to be an element. And I, you know. That's one reason I got so angry at him when he said that to me. But is it his fault that his wife did that? No, that's not his fault. But it wouldn't have happened had she not been introduced to him. Well, I don't know, but it didn't help. But I don't blame him for the death of Phil and all that. When I was on news radio, he kept complaining about me being there.
And in the press, and I finally said, what is your problem? You know, I think you're funny. I give you jokes. I go, what are you, you know. And then when he complained about me in the press, I just yelled at him. I said, well, I wouldn't be here if you hadn't given Bryn Coke in the first place. Wow. So the next day he goes, you made me cry all night. I cried. I said, well. He goes, well, Phil was really mad at me about that, but he forgave me later. But then I find out, I don't think that he did, you know. Maybe he did, but, you know. He wouldn't now. What a ballsy thing to say. But I mean, I mean, every, the only, yeah, of me? Yeah, yeah. No, not really. Anyone would have said it. That was true. Although I'm kind of known for saying what's on my mind, right? But, you know, I mean, even Phil's, I never said this before, but even his kids were, when they heard about, you know, Andy and I, they were, like, glad. They were thrilled. Everybody knows. His kids knew what happened. Everybody. His family. Thank you for doing that. We wish someone had done it before. His own children. I'm not proud of it. I lost my temper. I don't like hurting people. There's probably a lot of guilt on his part. Except when I pushed him. Boy, did it feel good. I've never felt that way before. Usually if I hit somebody goofing around, I hit them and they go, ow, I feel really bad.
But him, I felt it was... Here's what I said. I understood the mentality of a fighter. And I'm a horrible fighter, to be honest. I don't want to fight people. John. John. But if you say what he said, I'll kick your ass. No, no, no. No. I honestly believe... What do you think, Mike? I can say kick your ass, right? Yes, you can. Mike, what do you think? And I can say I dug a hole. I honestly believe. But I can't say I dug a hole for... Mikey, what do you think? Honestly, I've said this a million times. I believe that anger is three things. Hurt, sadness, fear. That's what I believe anger really is. And so I think that there's probably a couple of those things going on with you. Well, when someone says you're the next to die and they're referring to your friend who was murdered, it's not funny. No.
It hurts you. You know, after that happened, I mean, it wasn't just me, but other friends. It freaks you out so much that you go like, well, am I going to be killed any second? It's not a logical thought, but that's what you think. So you actually thought that he was putting a hex on you? No. No. But, look, I can't explain it, but if someone... Close to you is murdered and someone says you're next. It freaks you. You're like, huh? You're the next one to die. No, I didn't think he's a voodoo thing. But the truth is a weak, you know, and he goes, I, you know, whatever he said. I don't know. He's an idiot. But you can watch him on that Tom Green thing. He denies giving Phil's wife cocaine. And then like two minutes later, he admits doing it with her. Really? He's an idiot. He's a moron. And a week and a half later, he came to the club. He showed up again at the Laugh Factory. No, he showed up, I don't know, maybe a few days later. That's on the internet. You see him right there with his limo parked by the club. And then I found out... Is that where he's being chased or something? To the limo or something? What was that about? I don't know. But a week and a half later...
He showed up, like, at 9.30 at the Laugh Factory, and Dane Cook was doing his show, and there's a huge line, and he's saying to everybody, you know, don't see John Lovitz's show, I'll put the Philharmon hex in you, and you'll all die, and you'll die. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, and then he went to the bodyguards, who are black, these two black guys, the nicest guys in the world, and they wouldn't let him in the club, and he goes, oh, you N's or N words are all like. Oh, God. And they told me about it, and these are the nicest guys in the world, and they're huge guys. I mean, one guy's, like, six. How did that not make the news that he was saying the N-word to people and all that stuff? I don't know. I tried. Paul was on video. And I said, that's it. But I've avoided him. I mean, that happened at the club. There was a charity a week later, and I said, well, is he going to be there? And the guy said, yeah. And I go, I can't go. I'm going to ruin your charity. Because if I see him, I'll just start swinging. How can you get... John Lovett's a tough guy. I love it. Yeah, who knew? No, listen. It's not hard to be tough with him. He's nothing. You know, if it was a big guy... If he apologized, I think that you would not feel that way anymore. If he apologized? Yeah, probably. I'd say, okay. But he didn't. He should. I said it to him. Do you remember what you said? I don't remember saying that. But he had a huge smile.
I don't remember saying that. Then he said, well, that's what you said. Maybe because you were drunk, but that's what you said. You know, I put the Phil Hartman hex in you, the next one dying. He goes, no, I don't remember saying that. And then he leans into me and he goes, well, you know, I probably said it because you said I killed Phil Hartman. That's the first thing you said to me when you got on news radio. And that's not what I said. I said I wouldn't be here if you hadn't given Bryn Coke in the first place. Right. That's very different. Well, not really. You're an honest guy. I mean, it's not that different. But, you know, that wasn't the first thing I said to him. He was, like, slamming me. Why is he making more money than me? I mean, he's just an idiot. He's just jealous, I guess. Well, listen. I don't know. He's got kids. I hope he sobers up because he's going to die. He's on the road to killing himself. Listen, I appreciate you talking about it. It was something that we talked about a lot on the air, and you're an honest person, and I really appreciate it. I really do. All I can tell you is that... No, no, no, please. Let's just say this. The police congratulated me. They thanked me for doing it. Wow. Well, the police. Now, because they've had a deal with him before? Yeah, because he's just a jerk. Yeah.
Well, listen. Yeah, and they have to get calls on them all the time. Yeah. They thanked me. I didn't know that stuff about the N-word out in front of the club and all that. That's weird. Yeah, that happened. John Lovitz. He can say he didn't, but you can talk to the bodyguards, and that's what he did. John Lovitz has a club opening up, and you can go to it. It's at the Abergene, and it's called the John Lovitz Comedy Club. Sweet. Tonight, tomorrow night and Saturday night at 9 o'clock at night is when you can do this. And you're actually going to be performing, right, John? Yeah. Okay. And tickets available at Ticketmaster. And my show, I make fun of myself. I say it's rated R. I don't know. They haven't had a lot of comedy in San Diego. But you can say anything you want. But I talk about myself and I make fun of religions and politics. And then I play the piano and sing songs. About Bob Saget. Who I'm friends with. You sing songs about Bob Saget. Yeah, he's heard them all. He knows about it. I'm trying to help him, you know, but you hear the songs, you may think I'm not, but I'm trying to help him. Trying to help him from what? Well, there's just rumors that he's lighting the loafers. So I sing songs about him being gay.
Yeah. Yeah, what of it? Not at all. He is a gay man. It's fun to say he might be. He's not. I'm telling you, he's got three kids. He's not. But you know what? People go, well, he's married. He's not married now, but he has three children. That doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean anything? No. So what about a guy that, you know, an actor and he does gay porno? Does that mean he's gay? No. But he does gay porno. He sleeps with 10 guys a day. That doesn't mean anything. Okay. He's straight. He's acting. It's acting. It's acting. Sounds gay. Ticketweb.com. You can also call 866-478-3399. I'll use that. I'll give you permission. Why is it this cough button whenever I hit it, it makes me cough?
I know, you got a cough. You have to beep that. You can't say that. I don't know. It's your show. I can't say that, but I can go. Wait, wait, wait, wait, John, please. Don't get me in trouble. No, I won't. Don't get me in trouble. I can say when I play tennis, I hit tennis balls. Yes, you can say that. Yes. Yeah, you can say. Whenever I hit this cough button, it feels like my doctor's examining my tennis balls. Wow, that's interesting. My offer doesn't check out my sporting equipment. Minus the tennis. You can say that? Listen, you can see John tonight, and he's going to be at, now the address is 504th Avenue. It's going to 4th and Island. 4th and Island, and I should say the entrance is on the side on Island. There you go. There you go. There's not a bunch of signs. There'll be a little sign, but that's where you go. I want to have you back every week. Listen, John, if you have a club here and you're going to be in San Diego, this needs to be your home base radio show. All right. Well, thank you. That'd be great. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You fit in. You got to come here. Yeah, you fit in. You're as weird as we are. We're all very bizarre. No question. Listen, it was the hardest interview I've ever done because I couldn't get a word in edgewise, but you gave me so much.
Oh, wait a second. You became a psychologist. I believe that anger is fear, hurt, and what was the other one? You're going to love this. You'll remember this too. Isn't this a rock station? Oh, no, no. I'm telling you that this is the weirdest show in San Diego. That's why we do so well. This is what it is again. Anger is three things. Hurt, sadness, and fear. I'm a recovering alcoholic. What do you want from me? I talk about this. Is that what they told you? No, no, no. That's why you're drinking? Because you're sad and being scared? I wanted to know. I asked a friend of mine. I asked a friend of mine. A friend of mine said to me one time, you know that when you're mad, when you're pissed, he goes, that's not a real emotion. What it really is is hurt, sadness, and fear. And I go, no, it isn't. He goes, next time you get mad, think about it. And he was right. I was hurt by something. So I got mad. Well, I got mad at somebody the last day. I was really mad, but I wasn't hurt, sad, or scared. I was mad. What happened? Tell me and I'll tell you you were. I bet you you were. He was supposed to do something and then he didn't. It hurt your feelings? No, it didn't hurt my feelings. If you explore it, it did, John. It really did. It didn't hurt my feelings. He said he was going to do what? I don't want to say it was a thing and he didn't do it. He said, okay.
It wasn't a friend. It was for business, and he didn't do it. It was a business. And I was mad. Well, you were also fearful that something wasn't going to happen. You thought you could depend on someone. And you can't. You thought you could depend on this guy. Oh, yeah, you might have a point. There it is. Yeah, I was afraid no one was going to show up at the show. It was for publicity for the show. There you go. You were afraid. All right, you're right. But I was mad, too. You're one of my favorite people. You're tough. Okay, John, we know. How much did you have to go to rehab and all that? I did go to rehab. Oh, God. Here's rehab. So did she. The girl behind you went to rehab, too. Oh, no. Stop. Yeah, just stop drinking. Just knock it off. We got to do it. Excuse me. Just knock it off. You did knock it off.
Listen, if anybody out there right now is having an issue with addiction, knock it off. Cut it out, you. God love us. Grow up. It's Mikey on Rock 105.3. Excuse me, may I sit here? Sure, sit down. The governor was at SeaWorld yesterday reminding people of all the wonderful tourist attractions San Diego has to offer. Is Roger Clemens finally done? Well, apparently he's set to join the Astros as a consultant. John Lovitz was really interesting. He was a really fascinating person. Holy cow. There are a lot of aspects of his personality. There's just really a lot of aspects of his personality. But what I really appreciate is that he's honest. I don't necessarily, and it was just, I thought it was so ironic when I go, what is your comedy act about? And he goes, well, I make fun of religion. Which I just thought was so ironic. That's funny. But, you know, just an interesting guy. I also thought that it was interesting was that he had no concept that I for a half an hour had gone. Now, John. Yeah.
Oh, I loved it. So, hey, John. That's cracking up. Now, John, I think. That's crazy, man. So, hey, John. But, you know, I think that what happened was when I first brought up to him off the air the thing that I wanted to talk to him about the Andy Dick stuff, at first he said no. Right. And you could tell he was very apprehensive about it. But I told him, I said, listen, man, you can trust me. I'm not going to be a jerk. Right. And I'm telling you. from the moment that he came in and sat down, I think I'm pretty sensitive to people's body language and stuff like that. And so from the moment he came in and sat down, I could tell he didn't know who we are and what we're about. He had his guard up. And the guard is up. And I don't blame him. He doesn't know us. And especially he doesn't know like kind of how eccentric and neurotic and weird the host of the show is in terms of like, and you know what?
anger is it's hurt sadness and so i'm sure he's like huh like this is like a radio station like this is a rock show well yeah he even said that he's like this is a rock station and it's about the most unconventional show you know so but how do you how do you say sum all that up to somebody when they first come in and sit down uh i just want to say hey you know you can trust us no doubt about it everything he said is going to end up on tmz and on uh Perez Hilton and all that stuff. But the bottom line is that I'm going to be honest with you when we're having the conversation. I'm not going to try to ambush you or sucker punch you or any of that stuff. I think that he was, when he came in here, he didn't know what to expect. But wow, was that stuff interesting. I'm a huge fan. I love his quirky personality. I really enjoyed him in here. He was pretty cool. What I really wanted to get to with him was... All of this has gone down with Andy Dick. It's all happened. You would think that you would want to avoid ever having another conflict with him so that it wouldn't make the news. Yet you say, if you saw him right now, you would punch his lights out. Which I thought was such an interesting dichotomy. Here's something that I didn't understand. He kind of touched on it, but I don't get...
Phil Hartman was basically the star of news radio with Andy Dick. Andy Dick was on the show, too. Was he a big star on the show, too? Yeah, they both were. When Phil Hartman died, the next season, John Lovitz replaced Phil Hartman. So there was already this thing between Andy Dick and John Lovitz when Lovitz agreed to be on news radio, Phil Hartman's show. issue with Andy Dick and thinking that he was partially responsible for Hartman's death, how do you agree to be on news radio? I wish I had known that. I couldn't say anything either. My thought is if somebody has to fill his best friend, his brother's shoes, he feels that he should be the one to do that. But you're also agreeing to be on a show with a guy that you Probably despise. Yeah, to put yourself in that situation. Yeah, that's true as well. Oh man, now my mind is just racing. Sounds like he'll be back. Yeah. We'll talk to him about it next time. Oh, wow. See, I was just talking to somebody about this the other day, about relationships. You can't have a relationship with somebody in any capacity after one meeting. In order for a trusting relationship to happen,
You have to get together a few times. And what I really loved about hearing John Lovitz on the Dennis Miller show was this level of trust, and he's just pouring out the story as real as it gets. And that's hard to get to. If he's got a club here and he's going to be coming into the studio on any kind of regular basis, we'll get there, but it's going to take time. Very interesting guy. Wow. Winter Plugs All is beginning tomorrow on this radio program. Yes! You know when we had two people come in and battle it out singing and playing an acoustic guitar? We're going to do that every week and people are going to the website rock1053.com or mikeyshow.com and they are signing up for this competition that we're going to do every week. Winter Plugs All. The idea is you come in and you play guitar or you have somebody play guitar for you and you sing. Two people go up against each other every week. It's open to men and women. And the winner gets to plug their show, their MySpace page, their whatever you want to plug. Awesome! Yeah, it's really good. The people that came in and did it last time, they were really good. It was fun, yeah. It was a good competition. And so, anyway, we got somebody on the line right now that says that they want to compete in tomorrow's winner plug-all. Have you gone to the website? Is this for you on Garrett? Have you gone to the website?
I went to the website, filled it out, gave us all my information. Okay, cool. What we'll do is we'll, you know, we just try to get to everybody in the order we get them. So hopefully eventually we'll get you in here, man. All right, cool. I'd appreciate it. All right, thanks. P1 Mike, are you there? Yes. What's up, Mike? I actually wanted to touch on what Eddie and you guys were saying about John Lovitz, why he signed on with NewsRadio. He was actually a reoccurring character about the two seasons before Phil Hartman died. So he was already on the show for a while. So they felt like it was going to be a comfortable thing to just bring him back in because he'd already been on there a few times? Yeah, he kind of played this consultant that worked with the company. And then when Phil Hartman died, he just kind of took over his job. Yeah, I want to get into it. Next time he's in, I want to ask him about all that stuff. Yeah, because there's still, even if you were a recurring character, Phil Hartman was still alive. At that time. Once after he dies. And you kind of think Andy Dick is partially responsible to accept a regular job where you got to work with Andy Dick every day. That's something different, you know, and that's pretty big. P1 Thelma. Oh, my God. Best interview ever. It was interesting. Dude, the dynamics of it. Like when he first in, you could totally tell that he was like a little like apprehensive. But then like once he was off, he was off like you can even talk. He was just like, yeah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And the best is when he was giving you crap about a, oh, just stop, you know, rehab. Like me going to rehab. I'm like, oh, yeah, that works. Don't grow up. That was great. I think it'll just take some time, you know, to kind of get to know each other. But it's tough when somebody comes in here. They don't know if they're on, you know, this shock radio show and I'm going to try to ambush you. In fact. There was a point where he was sitting there. It was the point where I go, where I wanted to tell him the thing about the hurt, sadness, and fear. And I go, now, John, I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you something. I could tell he thought I was about to go bam. Oh, really? Yeah. That's why he said, he goes, if you say blah, blah, blah, then I'm going to punch you. Like he thought I was about to, like I was setting him up, setting him up, setting him up. And I'm going to make this. He said, if you say what Andy said. I'll kill you. He said something like that. I'll punch you out. Yeah. He thought that the whole interview had been set up, set up, set up, and I'm not. Yeah. Anyway, P1 Dave. Oh, Dave. Loud mouth. Quiet down. P1 Jesse. Hey, I was calling in because I love the interview, and I looked up the site, and they're $25 a piece. I was curious if you're giving away any tickets. Yeah, we'll give you some tickets. Really? Yeah, we'll give you tickets. I love you. Hang on. Hang on a second. Wow.
That was really, really interesting. You want to hear Andy Dick on Tom Green's show? Yeah. Cut 51. This Lovitz thing went down, and it upset me. It did upset me. I understand. It upset me. The guy's trying to f*** with my livelihood, which means I'm like a papa bear here. He's trying to f*** with my kid's future. I feel bad that my kids have to see anything that Lovitz would... Anything he would have to say, let alone his bad characters. Next time, we'll play it. That'll send him into a tailspin. I want to thank Jennifer from Starbucks. She brought in some new flavors, the coffee for fall. You know, they do the seasonal stuff. Oh, I love those. So good. Yeah, I'm having the peppermint mocha. That is Bob. I'm having the gingerbread latte. How is it? Bob. I'm having a gingerbread latte. But is it Bob? Is it Bob?
It's really delicious. I just thought it was delicious. Here we go. What have we got, Mike? There it is. It's real good. Yeah, thanks, Starbucks. You guys are good. You make stuff that tastes good. Here was the governor at SeaWorld yesterday. Cut 45. And people assume that Southern California has burned down. There's no more business and nothing is going on here. It's quite the contrary because we were very lucky. I don't know that anybody thought that there was no business here. California burned away. I talked to my friends yesterday in Texas and they're like, we thought you were dead. What happened? I thought every business had closed down. You're like charcoal.
Yeah. I thought they closed California. California. No, we're open for business. Everybody did. No, you shut down, Sky. No, we're open for business. No, you shut down. You can go see Shamu right now. You mean that SeaWorld is not closed? Yeah. No. I thought it was like a fish barbecue. No, the fires weren't near SeaWorld. It's all fine. Shamu grilled. No. You know what was really weird? Yeah, yeah, Arnold too. That's great. You know what was really weird? When you were doing that for a second, it almost sounded like Arnold Schwarzenegger was auditioning for the role of Vinny Barbarino. Like I thought he was going to go. It's like weird or something. It's like weird or something. That was awesome. Yeah, the mixture. It tastes so good. World, the zoo, wild animal park, Legoland. These places are all open. They're all open. Thank you, Arnold. Thank you, Governor. Welcome to Legoland. Yeah, Dalegoland. I keep trying to get them to change the name to Dalegoland. And they think Legoland is enough. No. Change it. No, you got to put the DA in front of it. DA. Dalegoland. Let's hear a really, really tough guy talking about his wife running in the New York City Marathon. Cut 25.
Mr. Cruz was still raving about his beautiful wife's Sunday marathon run. She is my inspiration. You ever do it? You get out there and run, man? The next day I hit the treadmill. I was like, okay. If this woman can do it with everything that she does, and believe me, she works, she's got movies, and she's taking care of so many things, it really is an inspiration. She's an inspiration to me. Right. Oh, pipes. Very masculine. I really, I look up to her. I mean, after everything she does. Your voice is so deep. I can't wait to kiss her on the mouth. We have a child together. Yeah. I made it. I'm the dad. I'm the father of the child. And I am extraordinarily attracted to her. There's the woman I'm sexually attracted to. We have the intercourse to make the baby. The intercourse. So loving and emotional. And I wouldn't have it any other way than that. I'm intercourse crazy. I have to have it all the time.
With women, right? With women. How much do you make babies? Well, that's the only way I'd find it enjoyable, is with a woman. Obviously. Thanks for clearing it up. Cool. Like, you know, with a man, that's gross to me. Right. That seems weird and gross. It has to be a person with breasts. Okay. And ovaries. And that other thing. The down below part. Yeah, it's called a vagina. You know, that thing that... That thing they were talking about on that talk show with that supermodel that she was making. Tyra Banks. The baby maker. The name escapes me right now, but I'll think of it. I'm crazy for it, though. I'm crazy. It starts with a V, I think. I'm on it all the time. I'm on it. What? I draw pictures of it. I love everything about it. I love its monologues. I love its... All right. That's weird. Everything. Okay. I have a tattoo of it on my bicep. No, you don't. I do. Oh, no, that's Vin Diesel. Oh, another V thing. But if I make a muscle look, see, it kind of... Oh, there you go. Oh, okay. Here's the photographer for OK Magazine that was assigned to the Britney Spears shoot that went nuts where she was real weird. Remember that? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Cut 31.
Celebrity photographer Mark Liddell. I class myself as family with Brittany, and from doing her engagement pictures to the baby pictures, we go far back. Now revealing the previously unpublished pics, Mark was the man behind the lens during that legendary OK! magazine photo shoot last July. We all have our highs, we all have our lows. The one where Britt was accused of wiping fried chicken grease all over a $20,000 dress and skipping out before the shoot was finished. Paparazzi absolutely killed and ruined our day. You know, and the sweetheart said to me in the car afterwards, Mark, if you want me to come back afterwards, I'll do my best and get back. It's weird. Does anybody believe that? No. Totally. I want to know, like, when did Budweiser start doing voiceover work for Access Hollywood or whatever that was? He thought that's a way you'd do it. Multitex. That's what he said. He thought it was a way you'd do it. This is Tom Brokaw commenting on... I guess he just did this thing. It's like a retrospective of the 60s and stuff. Like a documentary that he did. Because he's not an anchor guy anymore. But he was just on Regis and Kelly. And here's him talking about hippies from the 60s. Cut 40.
The hippie movement really pushed back against their parents. When the kids were 18, 19, 20, 1968, they rejected everything that their parents stood for and said, I don't want to be a part of that. They're now the parents who are the most controlling parents in the history of mankind. Well, that's true. One of the things that I say is that those young people at that time who would... inhale, ingest, or try anything that was handed to them at a rock concert can now be found in the supermarket in the organic food section. Was your mom controlling Sky? She's a hippie. He says the hippies became controlling parents. No. No food coloring, though. Come on. No. Well, and my mom wasn't a hippie, so. I thought she was a hippie. No. She wasn't? Uh-uh. Why was I led to believe she was all Joan Baez'd out? That was because she believes in alternative medicine, so you believe that only a hippie could. That's totally true. That is true. Yeah. You made that assumption. Yeah, no. She grew up Catholic school her whole life. Come on. Yeah. For real? Mm-hmm. They say Tom Brokaw's doing this thing where he's talking about the free love and all that stuff. Skye describes herself as free love without the... No. You describe me like that. No. She's free lunch.
Oh, I got that backwards. This is the Mikey Show. Oh, my heart is pounding like Thor's hammer on Dr. Doom's titanium-infused face paint. Jennifer Lopez confirmed at her concert last night in Miami that, yes, she is pregnant. Those blasted Russians are at it again. Apparently, they tried to poison tennis player Tommy Haas. Now, Skye, what do you think of that Jennifer Lopez story? She tells the audience, right? Doesn't consult her husband. I guess not, because J-Lo said on stage, Mark and I are expecting, and then Mark Anthony says, I didn't know she was going to talk, and then kissed Lopez's belly. So I guess he didn't know she was going to announce that. You know what I think about that? What? I think it's okay. It's all right. No harm, no foul. Just like I think that when a chick's got a big old giant belly, and it's obvious she's pregnant, and people are talking about how beautiful she is while she's pregnant, it's no big deal.
You know, in the case of J-Lo and Marc Anthony, it depends. If he had said to her behind the scenes, hey, babe, whenever you're ready to make the announcement, go ahead. Cool. Make the announcement? She's got eight basketballs under her shirt. But if he said to her behind closed doors, hey, I don't think we should publicly comment on this or whatever, then that's not cool. Even when she's clearly pregnant? Right. it should be more like her decision if it's like she's pregnant and it's her concert isn't it her decision if she wants to tell her fans or not well it's both of their concert it's a it's a joint tour if you will oh boy oh that makes a difference oh yeah well not yeah not to me it does either way it doesn't matter but Suzanne from promotions is hanging out in here because she told me a story yesterday that I thought was very interesting and funny and I and sad at the same time thanks uh tell everyone what you did Suzanne Okay. What is this about? I'm not really sure how to preface it, but when I start telling my friends, I say, yes, I know it's funny, but I'm still really heartbroken about it. Don't be that mean, please. Okay. Don't laugh too hard. Don't laugh too hard. This is going to be difficult for me. And when I start telling it, you're already going to know what happened. So I just got a new phone on Saturday. My old phone started acting up. So I was able to transfer all my pictures from my recent vacation in New York and Bermuda with my niece onto my new phone. And I was being really careful with it.
I left the plastic wrap on and everything. And I got it on Saturday. And then on Sunday, I was at my parents' house. And I was, like, kind of texting with a friend. And then I had to go to the bathroom. So I kept the phone in my hand, like, raised above my head to make sure that it was safe. And so I was being super careful with it. And then I, you know, flushed the toilet, put the phone down on the counter, washed my hands, then pick up the phone. And then I turned to leave the bathroom and the phone. slips out of my hand, bounces off the wall, bounces into the flushing toilet, and goes right down the toilet. And I just, like, screamed. And my mom had no sympathy. She was like, did you clog the toilet? Now, listen. It's already kind of a, you know, humorous whatever story or whatever. Kind of. Tell everybody what kind of phone you flushed down the toilet. It was a chocolate. Yeah, I know. That's awesome. So I said to her yesterday, you flushed your chocolate down the toilet? And she said, yeah. And I said, that's really sad. And don't think I was above reaching into my own urine to get out the toilet. She did. She reached down in there, but you couldn't get it, right? No, I was too late. I'm good. I'm good. High five.
Can we talk about the teeth thing, too? I thought that was interesting. I just heard when you said her dad's her orthodontist, her very own orthodontist, which is kind of cool. So he's meaner to me. Is that the deal? Like, I mean, if he's your orthodontist, can't you say to him, hey, take it easy? Well, I always like to say that, you know, he likes to tell me I'm his worst patient, but he really just kind of like makes me wait more because he knows that I'm going to forgive him. And I'm not going to sue him for malpractice. So, is it the kind that, because you got them taken off, the ones on the top, the braces on the top. Is it the kind that glue onto your teeth? Yeah. And I'm saying that, and I think they've been out for about 400 years. Yeah. But the only reason that I ask is because, well, when I was a kid, story sometimes is kind of hard to read. Oh, not this story. About your wonderful mother. Okay, here we go. Who's a precious lady. Going to Mexico. But when I was a kid. Here we go. My mom took me to Mexico to get my braces. Really? Yes. And they were terrible, right? I wonder if Sean is listening to the show. I don't. Sean. What do you want me to do? I want my music. I want my sad music. My sad childhood music. I would love to.
Well, forget it. The moment's gone. I had those braces that wrapped around your whole tooth. Oh, yeah. Right. What? Yeah, because my mom took me to Mexico to get my braces. Wrap around your whole tooth? Yeah. See, he doesn't even know what they are. No, I've never heard of that. The way that braces used to work is that the braces were like a band that went around your whole tooth and they connected together instead of just gluing onto the tooth itself. I had the same thing in America. You did? Yes. Come on. Yes. That's how they put braces on back in the day. Back in the day. That's the deal. That's how they were. Oh. Okay. Well, no, I did. I did, but I thought they were really far behind, right? Now, did you get yours? No. So it was yesterday. When I was 12. Okay. Now, when you did this, all of the orthodontist tools and all that stuff, were they in the sink? With blood dripping all over them? Hell. Yeah. No, they weren't. Yeah. In Mexico, they keep the stuff in the sink. And you're at someone's house? I'm assuming. And then before they use them on you, what they do is they wash them off in the water. That's so gross. They rinse them off in the water. Dude, that can't be true. I swear to you that's the truth. That's so gross. They would rinse them off in the sink and then they would use them on you. But look at your teeth. They're wonderful. They're beautiful. Just gorgeous. That's true. They came out great. I can't thank Dr. Emilio.
Zovan was his name. Dr. Emilio Zovan. I just made that up. I'm sure you did. But I would like to thank him for the wonderful braces. You should be thanking your mother. Yes. Well, now I get the fact that it was very traumatic for you. Up until the music started, I didn't realize it was really a big deal. That's great. But now with the presence of the music. Wow. I'm sorry, Mike. I didn't know. It puts it into perspective. It sort of accentuates. The story itself. Right. Wow. The music. Sorry, we were mocking. I didn't realize. Now I feel bad. Now it's sad. And scene. So there you go. That's Suzanne's story. She flushed her phone down the toilet. I know. And I got a new one.
And it's kind of manly. It's not cute like my little chocolate. It's a man. No, it's not a man. It's so durable and sturdy. I agree with her. It's not manly. It should have a penis on it. You know, it was supposed to. I'm totally going to get that return. I think it's a nice vote. Okay, so a couple things that I wanted to fill people in about. We were reporting that some National Guardsman had stole stuff that was donated to the fire victims. And apparently, they did an investigation and found not true. Yeah, I mean, kind of true, but not true. You know, it sounds like what actually happened was really over-exaggerated. It's the thought that counts.
So basically, you know, these National Guardsmen from... That really got robbed. It was just for Rob, Sky. He's been gone. He needed it. Just for Rob. I did. Anyway, so these National Guardsmen from Ontario, you know, were accused of stealing supplies for fire victims and... Come hit some ham! You had to get a free lunch, National Guardsmen? That's for Rob. That's for Rob. But what turns out after the investigation, what turns out what really happened is that volunteers at the center out in Potrero actually told the soldiers where they got a sunburn because it was so they were outdoors so long. Red hot. Do you guys want to hear what actually happened or not? I do. I do. I'm dying to.
Volunteers at the center told the soldiers that they could help themselves to the supplies. They stole white manservants. They say that seven soldiers accepted the offer, and they're not sure exactly how much was taken. Kaiser helps us to help you. They do know it included some packets of beef jerky, but once they heard about it, they heard that all items were returned. I have this little problem. You know who this is, right? Oh, wait! Is this guy? What the? What's the problem? You're number one on the speed dial, Kaiser. I don't even have Kaiser anymore, okay? Get over it. I have different insurance now. You shouldn't have us. Hi, this is Betty. Yes, it is. Hi, Betty. Hello. You shouldn't have us on the speed dial, dear. Well, I know, but I've got a lot of issues. I've got the frog hands. I've got the sunburns. Whatever. What's the problem this time? seems to be an issue. Well, I was... Cut urine on it. Okay, thank you. Betty. Well, that's an interesting story, Sky. That was a good one. Wow. Oh, no, not the middle one. Not the middle one. Not the middle one. Come on, scary. Act like a lady. I didn't know frogs could do that. Oh, you're so funny. Stupid.
This is very sad. It looks like Rosie O'Donnell's deal with MSNBC has fallen through. Oh, boy. Rosie O'Donnell! Rosie O'Donnell! Yeah, she was blogging about it, and she blogs in a very weird, like, haiku type of fashion. Rosie O'Donnell! So, basically, her blog says that she believes that leaking the news scared the network and the deal fell through due to all the publicity that was... How did she actually write it? Do you want me to read it or do you want to look at it and you read it? Let me see. And that's how she always liked blogs. In that fashion. MSNBC. One hour. Live. Following Keith Olbermann. We were close to a deal. Almost done. I let it slip in Miami. Causing panic on the studio end. Well, what can you do? Today there is no deal. Poof. My career as a pundit is over. Before it began. That's how it reads. And it's all like, wherever Mike paused, it would be a different line. Well said. Would have been better if it rhymed.
Right? That would be cool. That's odd. He seems totally with it. Is Roger Clemens done or what? Well, apparently now they're saying that he is going to be signing on with the Houston Astros as a consultant. And if he's a consultant, that probably doesn't mean he's going to pitch again. Consultant? Yeah, that's really strange. It's a weird story. Antonio Cromartie is the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Well, you should when you break a record that will never be broken ever again. You can't break it, right? You can't. It's impossible. It's impossible to break. Yeah. Because you can't go more than 109 yards or you're out of bounds. Right. It's impossible. That's pretty cool. So, yeah. There's a big game this weekend here in San Diego. Yeah. Yeah, I guess. What do you think will happen in the game, Eddie? Do you really want to know why? Yes, I do. Because it's a big game and it's on primetime television at night. No, no. Let me answer that by asking you a question. Go ahead. You've seen the Chargers play this year. Yeah. Now, you would say they're probably, what, inconsistent at best? Yes. You know, seems like it's been a little bit of a roller coaster. Yeah. Okay, when they're on a bad turn. Mm-hmm.
It's pretty much a couple of things, right? It's the defense can't really stop anybody, and Phillip Rivers has been playing poorly. How do you think they're going to fare against an Indianapolis defense that's fast and playing really well and an Indianapolis offense that is one of the best ever? How are they going to win that game? That's a really good one. Well, I can't answer the first part of the question. Okay. I can't. Okay. You got me there. Okay. Or wait a minute. I believe it's the second part of the question. Whatever part of the question was the offense. That was the first part. Yeah. Can't answer. So you don't know what Phillip Rivers we're going to see? No, yes. Because when I've been watching the games, Phillip Rivers sometimes passes to the back of LT's head. He likes to.
Sometimes he aims at the back of his helmet. That's a true statement. I'm not being a jerk. That's true. Absolutely true. He does do that sometimes. Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. So I can't answer that part. But I do think that the defense is angry and disrespected, and I believe that they will play up to the game, to the level of game. But the first part about getting points, that part scares me. You're a good fan. No, come on. You're a good fan. But don't you think that's true? The defense can get angry and play up, but the offense, I think, is going to have a hard time. You're telling me, okay, you watched the beginning part of the season when we were losing those games. How did you beat the Chargers? You beat the Chargers by throwing those quick slants, and nobody was able to tackle anybody, so you throw these quick slants. One thing comes to mind, though, when you say it. One thing comes to mind, the Denver game. In the Denver game, those defensive backs and that defense said, we're sick of this crap. We are not going to be disrespected anymore. And they played almost flawlessly. The defense. Now realize this, though. They had Quentin Jammer. They had Luis Castillo. They had Sean Phillips. They had all these players. All these players are hurt. They are. Luis Castillo is out for six weeks. Quentin Jammer hasn't practiced. Sean Phillips is probably going to play, but he's got a hurt groin.
Yeah, that's not going to be very good. Peyton Manning is going to pick this team apart. He's the best quarterback in football. No, there's Tom Brady. Tom Brady's 1A, 1B. But Peyton Manning's the best quarterback in football. Oh, man. I knew Luis Castillo was hurt. I didn't know Quentin Jammer was hurt. Yeah, he's got a hurt hamstring. He hasn't practiced yet this week. He may play, but this is a game. I think the line is like seven points. It was three and a half at the beginning of the week. Let me double check. It could get bad, though. They're not going to win this game. I'm sorry. I have not picked against the Chargers in the four years I've been doing the pregame show. I'm picking against the Chargers this week. I'm telling you that right now. I'd be stupid not to. Offensively is where it looks real scary to me.
You know, I actually think they're going to be okay offensively. I think that they're, you know, if they, but who knows? Who knows what game plan we're going to use? You know, you got to run the football. You said it. They're a fast, the Colts are a fast defense. This isn't the Colts defense from last year. This is a good Colts defense. Tom Brady struggled against the Colts. He had a hard time. And so what? Phillip Rivers, is he on par with Tom Brady? I'm telling you, man, it really scares me. Yeah, it should. It should. Well, I didn't know all that stuff about the defense. Honestly, I was thinking it's going to be a real shocker this weekend, but the Chargers are going to win. Dude, believe me. I hope so. I really hope so. You talked me out of it. The line is three and a half. I just don't know how it's possible. I don't know how they're going to win this game. P1 Bolts. What's up?
I know. I just wanted to ask Eddie. Like, he has no faith in the front seven, and he doesn't believe that we're going to give him enough pressure to have our secondary. I mean, like, Camardi's, like, totally awesome right now, and I think he has enough to do it. And then we got Eric Weddle out there, and I know Quentin Jammer messes up sometimes. This is fan talk, and it's fine, and I appreciate that. But what is Eric Weddle going to do? Eric Weddle's not a starter, you know, and he comes in and, you know. They sometimes blitz them, sometimes they don't. What pressure have we put on quarterbacks this year? That's what I'm saying. I totally think they should let the dogs lose defense again. Like, come on. Well, call Ted Cottrell. Don't call us. He's not listening. He does what he wants. I agree with you, bro. I wish they would. Believe me, I wish they would. I would like to understand. The Ted Cattrall philosophy of defense, because I don't understand. Hey, dude, Sean Merriman doesn't understand it. We had him on on Monday, and he's like, I don't get it. I don't know what we're doing. I don't understand. When you know that one guy last week could beat us, Adrian Peterson, you know that. Only one person on that team can beat us offensively. Let's stop him. But they don't. They decide, you know what, let's run our base defense. And it's not a matter of bad tackling.
Because you saw Marlon McCree look terrible. A huge part of it is bad tackling. But when you're stacking eight, nine guys in the box, at least there's more tacklers around. When you're running a base defense, there's only seven guys there. And we were getting blown up by their offensive line. I've never seen Jamal Williams blown up before. And he was being pushed five yards back. You know what's scary is that when Indianapolis played... When Indianapolis played last week, Joseph Adai looked pretty good. Yeah, he's great. Marvin Harrison's supposed to be back for this game. That's cool. Yeah, it may be tough. Let's see. P1, Big Mike. What's up, Mikey? What's up? Hey, the Chargers secondary is actually horrible. It's never been good. The reason that they even look decent is because the front four gets so much pressure that the quarterback has to either let it go or throw the wild throw. They don't. They've never been good. Jammer is a bust. He's been a bust since he came out of college. He is not a jammer. He's never been. He's not the jammer. No. He's not the jammer. P1, Big K. Yeah, what's going on? What's up? Hey, I had a question for Eddie. Yeah. Okay. Well, he says that he hasn't picked against the Chargers in four years. And then when you tell him that you think the Chargers are going to win this weekend, he calls you a good fan because you're optimistic.
So I just want to know what he classifies himself as. I am a fan of this team. Believe me, I am, dude. But I'm also on the pregame show for a reason. I have to lend my so-called expertise, and I can't go on there and be just a fan. I have to say what I really believe. If I don't, then I lose all credibility. And I honestly believed in the past the Chargers could win those games. If they didn't, I wouldn't have said it. This is the one week where I cannot convince myself they can win this game. I think of myself, okay, maybe they can do this, maybe they can do this, but I also realize what the Colts are, and the Colts are a damn good football team, and I don't know how the Chargers are going to beat them. When we come back, Mark Wahlberg has proposed to someone. I'll tell you who it is next. Just out of curiosity, what did you look like before the accident? The Mikey Show is on. Sounds incredible. I went to sleep train so that I could have a reference to compare used mattresses on Craigslist. I took my three-year-old in there, which is typically a bad idea because she doesn't have the ability to self-calm herself yet. I digress, but my point is that they made it so easy to figure out which mattress I wanted that I ended up buying one at Sleep Train. My son Joey and I were out at the dunes in Glamis when we spotted this family bottomed out on a sand dune in their Chevy Silverado. My Nissan Titan had higher clearance than the Chevy, so I just hooked up some towing cables and I pulled him right off of that dune. I was proud of my Titan's V8 and proud of his old man. Mossy Nissan's got the full-size truck you can count on. The American-made Nissan Titan. Test drive a new Nissan Titan today at all six Mossy Nissan locations or see them online at mossy.com. Mikey Show. Who's this? I just want to tell you that AIS saved me a buck. This is a real person.

Who was all here drinking beer while I was at my mom's? Nobody was here drinking beer. Oh, come on. Tell the truth. I saw the beer cans in the trash out front. Beer cans? Where? Show me. What do you call these? Those are cans of Tecate Light. That's not beer. That's cerveza. Oh, come on. Beer, cerveza. It's the same thing. No, no, no. Beer and cerveza is not the same thing. Of course it is. Is it the same thing if I say te quiero or I love you? No, it's not the same. You see, just like amar, querer is not the same. Beer and cerveza is not the same either. I know what you mean. Sorry, honey. I love you. Te quiero. Hey, look who's back.
It's K-I-O-Z San Diego. Will he hit it? It's K-I-O-Z San Diego. Budweiser, tell him to hit it. It's K-I-O-Z San Diego, Bud. Say hit it. Say hit it. Say hit it. Hit it. Yeah! Nice work, fisherman. Thank you. Yeah, fish. Swim all over me. Fish. Oh, well then. It's not fair. Huh? Sean. It's not fair. Are you fat? Sean! Not nice. Thank you, Ashley. Uh-huh. One million dollars. One million dollars. Oh, my God. Wow. She's worth it. She's worth it. Whatever. $660. Oh! What was this? It might as well have been. What was the deal? It has a urinary infection. Bummer. I still suggested last night, I said, I read on the internet that releasing them back into the wild is really good for that. Like they came from the wild. Probably. Uh-huh. You cat-loving whore. They don't? Is that what you're saying? They don't come from the wild? Well, I mean, there's feral cats, but I highly doubt that Jules was a feral cat. Well, we have to go, kids. I'm really sorry. I'm really sorry. We have to go. I got an email from Budweiser, and he said, get your fat ass off the air. Budweiser. I'm sick of this.
All I want to do is my show, dude. That's right. My show. It's his show. Oh, it's his show now. Hey, by the way, what's going on? Is Missy sick? You know what? She's just awful right now. She's feeling awful right now. She said she's going to the doctor today, and hopefully we'll get her back in here tomorrow. Please. Hey, Eddie. Whoa, Eddie. I know you say that. Oh, really, Sean? Whoa, Eddie. That's what I'm called for. Oh, my God, Sean. Really? Whatever. Opposite. Well, so you don't know if she got... She said she's had a real high fever. She's been throwing up. But yesterday she said she was feeling a little bit better. She hadn't thrown up for a day or two. So it looks like she's on her path of recovery anyway. It sounds like you guys have both been puking. You know what? They asked me to read... They asked me to read something yesterday. Pukes, sir. And I was very conscious of not puking during that commercial. Hey. No, I swear. Hey, you got a nice normal voice. Your normal voice is very nice. Thank you very much. It'd be fine. You could do the regular commercial. It's just your normal speaking voice. You sound good. Buttery. It's like velvet. No, it's like butter. He's like a white chocolate teddy bear. Filled with lard. No.
Oh, Sean! Sean, that's really mean. Real nice, Sean. That is rude. I'm just storing all this up until he comes down next time. I'm just going to give him a big sloppy kiss. Ooh, sexy. P1 Plumber. Hey, how you doing, Mikey? I was listening to the show today, and I heard John Lovitz on the show. He wasn't too funny to me before, but I thought he was pretty funny today. I was wondering if you guys had any more tickets to his show. I wanted to check him out. Yep, I'll give you tickets. Nice. Thanks a lot, Mike. Hang. Hang. Thanks, Mike. Can I ask her? I missed it. I was in the shower. Did he talk about his stuff with Andy Dick at all? I can't wait. I want to hear it. Check the podcast out, Budweiser. That's right. P1 Sanjaya is on the line. Let's talk to say I'd call right now because we got to go. 570-1053. It's open phones and we got to split. Sanjaya, are you there? What's up, Mikey? What's going on, dude? Hey, dude, on the 28-hour show, I just want to know on the dance-off, what was Zest's excuse for not dancing? He said that he just froze up. White man can't dance? White man can't dance. He said he just... Right on, man. He said he froze up in front of all those people and didn't know what to do. Take some dance lessons. There you go. And then cry. And then maybe practice. Wow. You guys, that's not actually that. That was that. That's not a clip of that. You can get that.
Sean, that's so crazy. That's not actually a clip of Zeth. That was Zeth's approach to handling when we start bagging on him. What is it? He just sits there and looks at his computer screen like he's hearing none of them. It's almost like he's listening to his iPod. Yeah, yeah. Like he's listening to some song right now. Yeah, in his headphones. But it isn't the Mikey show. No, no. Doesn't hear a thing. Looks at his computer, completely ignores it, looks at the screen as if, well, this is... Well, maybe he didn't hear the clip. Yeah, maybe he shot... Like listening to Portishead or something. I don't know. Listen, throughout the show, Eddie wants a piece of paper and he throws that. When that happened with Royce, Eddie and I used to work with this guy, Royce, and Eddie threw a pen one time and it hit Royce. Oh, Royce threw it at you. Royce threw it at me. Eddie was mad. He threw a highlighter at my face, and it cut my face. Oh, my gosh. Damn it. But it caught me a lot, and so I'm doing the same for Zach. Zach, are you all right, bro? This guy puts up with quite a bit. He's just going to go postal one day. I hope not. I showed him affection earlier. Zach, if you ever decide to go postal, me last, okay? I want to go first. Me last. P1 Boomer. That may be Ashley. Boomer, are you there?
I got a story for you. So we go to lunch with AIS yesterday. And I got to say that our boy Terry, that guy can take a punch. Really? Yes, because he's got to take it from Ellen from AIS. I mean, she gives it to him. She loves to get under that skin, right? And I actually really enjoy talking to Terry. So I'm kind of hoping that... It doesn't go too much because I want to have him there. And I don't want him to check out. And he's pretty good about not checking out. Well, Russell, Microsoft, he starts getting on him. Oh, no. Yeah. And Terry makes a comment to him like, oh, so ever since you've been promoted, now you make a lot of jokes. Which I thought was great.
You have to understand the dynamic of it. I'm so uncomfortable. I'm so uncomfortable when that kind of stuff is going on. Because I just want to stay out of the way. So I'm watching it all go down. And at one point, for about 10 seconds, Terry checks out just a little bit. And Russell goes, Are you okay, buddy? Are you okay? And I... I'm like, I instantly am like, I'm coming out of my skin. That is uncomfortable. Oh, dude, it was so uncomfortable. And what made it so uncomfortable was like, it's real quiet. And Terry's like, yeah, dude, I'm fine. And Russell goes, really? Are you sure? You're going to be okay? And I'm like, seriously? I wished I could snap my fingers and poof. It was so uncomfortable. That's Russell. That's Russell. It is like he like he has this like, you know how some people when they like the polar bear club, you know what the polar bear club is? It's these people that will jump into freezing cold water even though they know it's really painful. That's Russell.
He actually digs the polar bear club. He likes jumping into the freezing cold water, and it stings and stops his heart for a second. He's all invigorated. Holy cow, dude. It was so... Let me tell you, Terry takes it like a man. Good for him. Fist pump, bro. That's right. That's right. P1 Brent. Hey, Mikey. What's up? Brent from PV. What's up? I was just wondering when the first date was that your show aired in San Diego. Someone emailed us this yesterday and Sky had to answer it. Are you the guy who sent the email? That was me. Oh, yeah. We responded. It was June 1st of 04. December 1st of 04? June. June 1st of 04. We started doing mornings in San Diego. All right. Thanks a lot, guys. You got it. Yep. It was the first day ever we were on the air here. All right. We really have to sign off. So late. P1 Talon, what's up? Hey, Mikey. Just to let you guys know, those of us at the P1site.com are putting together like a lunch together at Patton Oscars and Carmel Valley, and you guys are welcome to come on down. Oh, when is it? Yeah, when? Tomorrow at noon at Patton Oscars. Tomorrow noon, Patton Oscars, Carmel... Carmel Mountain. Carmel Mountain or Carmel Valley? Carmel Valley. Carmel Valley is off...
The Five in Del Mar area. Yep. All right, dude. I appreciate it. I don't know if I can make it because A, I'm antisocial and B, I'd take a nap. But I may surprise you. I would go to that, but I'm golfing tomorrow. Give me the time again. It's noon. Okay, cool. Hey, thank you, bro. Thank you. All right. Thanks for the notice. The lovely and talented Budweiser, is it? Oh, he's so precious. Hi. What do you got on the show today for the Nooner? Lost and found. Look at you. We got it figured out. We'll see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. Mikey shows out. Love you, Matt.
