Welcome to the show. It's 6.03. The FBI said yesterday that they got a tip that Al-Qaeda is planning to attack malls in L.A. and Chicago this holiday season. This is one of my favorite sports stories all year long. The Minnesota Vikings docked wide receiver Troy Williamson a week's pay for attending his grandmother's funeral. What? He must have got that wrong. That can't be... How did it happen? How did it happen? Well, he was gone. What did he do? He asked for permission. They said no. They said, yeah, you can go. We're going to dock you a week's pay. That's one of the crazier stories. It's crazy. I wonder if that will cause any kind of a PR problem for the National Football League. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm riffing with him. That's right. My son's not interested in hugs.
Really? No. What does that mean? I support it. It's so funny because my parents and her mom think, oh, he's going to be such a cut up. And we look at each other, Rebecca and I, and we go, are they talking about the same kid that we know? Why do they think that? Because he'll do something that makes them laugh. Oh. You know, just like normal kid stuff. Right. And it'll make them laugh and they'll think, oh, he's going to be such a cut up. And we know him. Rebecca and I know his personality. If we ever have another kid, maybe that kid will be the cut up. But this kid is not a cut up. He's serious. He's not messing around. He's a tough, tough room, tough audience. It takes a lot to get him to laugh. He's real serious. And when I come home. I'll walk over to him and I'll do the thing like, come here, I want to hold you and squeeze you and kiss your face. And he'll see me and he's like, no, I'm just, I got blocks here. And he'll play with the blocks and I'll walk and then I'll, so he'll turn around and I'll physically walk over and I'll stand like, and he'll just keep turning away. Like, dad, I'm trying to.
coordinate the blue with the red block. So why don't you give me a break a little bit? So finally, I will just pick him up. And now he's like, okay, well, I guess that's the end of the block. You win. Yeah, and you can tell that the overall attitude is, it's not fair, like, you can pick me up. If it were up to me, there would be no picking up. I'd just leave the room. But, I have him now. I'm holding him. And I go to kiss him and he turns the head like, oh, with the kissing. And so I'm like, and I go to kiss his cheek and he's like doing this. So I miss it. I'm not kidding. So I resort to having to like muscle my way into his neck. Oh my gosh. And I'm like, no, I'm going to kiss you. And you can tell he's like, oh, with that.
And so then I'll pick him up and I'll turn him on his side to kiss his stomach, which sometimes he thinks is funny. Sometimes. Most of the time he's not in the mood. And it's funny because you talk to parents and they say it's always different with another kid. Like if he were the opposite, we'd have one like Jake. If we have another one, that kid will be all about the kisses, the hugs, the whatever. But Jake isn't. And it's the same with his mother. It's not like he does this with me and with Rebecca he wants kisses. Everybody. Wants to kiss this kid. And he's just not interested. He's like Sean. Like get the germs away. Away. So. Maybe he's like a comedian like Stephen Wright. Very dry. Oh. Oh yeah. Maybe. He will find Stephen Wright hysterical. Jake will. It's all different styles. Yes. Comedy. That is true. And the things that he finds funny are particular syllables. He finds the P sound hysterical. So if you say a word the right way with a P, it's funny. But that's really his humor. You've got to find a comedian that's really into that type of humor. Tell him this guy's sunburned story. How's that? Really? Really, Rob? Really, Rob. Pill paste. Really? We're going to do this right now. There's some zingers in there. There you go. Okay. Plenty of consonants. Thank you, everyone. That's right. Plenty. We're good.
My name's Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 37 years old. I see a therapist once a week. I really enjoy the therapist. I find sometimes while I'm sitting there in the office on the couch, I find that sometimes I feel that I'm boring the therapist. Really? Oh, no. Yes, and I have, sometimes I will have anxiety that I bore the therapist, and sometimes I will say in the therapy session, I will say to the therapist, I will say to her, and I'm right about to wrap this up, and I'll say that. Like, I'm right about to wrap this up. Because I'm, you know, concerned that she may be like, hurry up already. Do you ever embellish your story to make it a little bit more exciting? I do not. I do not. Maybe try that. Well, you're not on the air, dude. Well, at a car chase or something. A shootout. A shootout. Riveted. There's something else that happens in the therapy session that's kind of interesting of note. Sometimes I will say something and it'll make my therapist laugh. And it's meant to be kind of funny, you know. And she has a hard time recovering.
And it makes me uncomfortable because I know that she feels bad. Because she's trying to get serious again. Because I'm talking about other stuff and she's trying to get serious. And she'll go, like thinking about what I just said. Wow. And it's difficult for her to get back. She's a giggler. No, she just found it funny. And I move on immediately. But the initial laugh isn't good enough to... She'll laugh. And she'll have this big smile on her face. And I'm immediately ready to move on. Because to me, on the scale of Mike Funny, it's like about a one. Right. But to her, it's like about an eight. So I move on immediately. And you can tell. And she's trying to get serious again. But she's, and you can tell she's concerned that I'm like, you know what I mean? She's real good. She's really good, too. Eddie is our producer. He's our sports guy. He is 34 years old. And he is of Italian, Hispanic descent. Weird. It's weird, right? Yeah. Eddie, what's going on with you? What can you tell me? I'll be honest with you. Yesterday, that guy that called in that kind of was railing on me with the sports stuff. Right. It got in my head. Oh, no. And it bothered me. It bothered me yesterday thinking, you know what?
I was honest with my assessment of the Chargers game this weekend. I felt bad about it, but I was honest. And the guy saying that I'm basically a bad fan and all that stuff. And then the other guy calling and saying that my picks have sucked lately and all these things. And I'm like, man, maybe I'm not as good as I thought I was. Those guys are clowns. That guy that called about the... The fan thing, that was a bizarre call in that you're not supposed to be a fan when you're talking about the Chargers. You're supposed to be a professional. That's what I thought. Right. I don't want to bum anybody out, but I mean, I'm being honest. You don't want to lie to people. Yeah, I mean, I could sit there and blow sunshine, but I don't think they're going to win this weekend. Well, how lame would it be? If you, every week, just were being a fan and you say, the Chargers are going to win 52-0. I mean, what's the point of that? Why would I be on the pregame show? You have no credibility. And then the other call was the guy saying that on the website, you were given two wins that weren't right when you added them up. It's not even your fault. What do you do? What are you, the webmaster? I don't know what to do about that.
That was ridiculous. Both calls are ridiculous. By making my picks, I really question every one of my picks now. And I'm like, because, you know, I think, well, these Charger girls are... Awesome. They went 12-2 last week. 12-2. I'm like, who are these girls? 12-2. I mean, I feel like I'm doing pretty well. I mean, I'm making solid 9, 10 wins every week. Right. You know, which is pretty darn good. Right. Well, you come out on top every week. Well, I try to, you know, but I mean, you know, when they're busting out 12, 11 win weeks, I'm like, what's going on? Yeah. You know? Well, dude, listen to this. It's an email I got. The subject is football predictions. Mikey, just wanted to say thank you for doing football predictions every Friday mornings. When Eddie does them and I do my football pool at work, for the first time this past weekend, I picked every team that Eddie picked and I won. Whoa. Thanks to Eddie, I'm now $65 richer. Okay, well, that's cool. Thanks, Eddie. Keep up the great work. Signed, P1 Gina. Maybe you should pick the Charger Girls picks. Oh, come on. They went 12-2. No, they're great. Blind luck, man. You know what it reminds me of? It reminds me of like...
when girls that don't know how to play blackjack go to the blackjack table. Yeah, or when I did my March Madness. Oh, my God. So furious. Talk about that. It's so weird. Yeah, Sky did March Madness. She couldn't name one college basketball team, and she won the thing. She had, like, perfect brackets for a while. I know. It was crazy. And I was in the office when she was picking them. She was like, I like Oregon because there was weed growing up there. Because they're ducks or something. Yeah, something weird. It creates a pretty color. It just goes to show you with sports. You know? Like, you can't pick it. Like, you know what I think the dumbest one is? Horse racing. Yeah. Horse racing has to be the dumbest one in the world. If anybody tells you that they are an expert on horse racing, it's all right to laugh. Just laugh. Say, so am I. Because 50 to 1 shots win all the time. This is the dumbest thing ever. And you pick that horse because you like the name. That's why you have 64-year-old ladies go to the track and bet on something because it's their son's name. And they win.
Skye's our news girl. She's 30 years old now. Oh, man. She really relates to the show 30-something. She bought all the DVDs. Skye, what's going on in your life? Well, it's weird. My husband has been working a lot lately. He's remodeling my grandma's house, so he's working a lot. He won't come home until 7, 8 o'clock at night. And so I was bugging Eddie yesterday because... I have weird guilt about it. Like it's hard to explain, but okay. So if my hubby's doing a normal day where he's like doing stuff around our house and I come home and we have lunch and then he's going to go work in the yard and I'm going to take a nap and then we're going to watch TV. Like I'm cool with that. But if I know he's out working a 10-hour day, I don't feel right watching TV and taking a nap. I have to do things. So yesterday, I cleaned all the windows in the house. But I told her, you've already worked. You've already worked a full day. Yeah. Which makes sense to me. In my head, I know it's true, but when I sit down and...
grab the remote i like feel like i'm doing something wrong like i really need to be more productive he's out there working well the bottom line is you go to work he goes to work you guys are just different hours yeah you guys i know but like i i i haven't like i feel weird about taking a nap i don't know it's some weird mental thing that i gotta work out but it's weird shawnee oh boy is 37 as well we call him shawnee oh boy his name is sean we call him shawnee oh boy We call him Shawnee O'Big. Big Tuna. We call him Big Tuna. We call him Sean Sean. We have a lot of different names for Sean. Wait. No, we don't call him the fur. Do not. You just made that up. Confused. Darfur. Yeah, yeah, that's it. It's different. Sean, anything new and interesting with you? Well, the only thing is I stopped that shoplifter the other day. That's right. Yeah, Sean. What? Off the air told us that he saw a kid shoplifting and he stopped him. What happened? Well, we were in this little store. It's like a mom and pop store. It's a candy shop. And I look over and this kid is taking a... Okay, wait, wait, wait. Can we pause just a second? Because he said this a couple days ago and we made a mental note to talk about it. And I never actually stopped and went, Sean was at a candy shop. That's awesome. I never actually stopped there and went, let's discuss. Yeah.
Uh, honey, we need to make a trip to the candy store. Were you listening to 50 Cent? Yeah. Yeah. No. Is this a regular thing, going to the candy shop? Get the lolly? Get a lolly? No. Big lolly? Well, keep in mind, this candy shop is in Willow Glen, and Sean lives in South San Jose, so that's like living in Escondido and going to a candy shop in La Jolla. Really? Right? I don't know. I have no idea. I don't remember. I hated the Bay Area. Yeah. It's that far? Yeah. So, Sean, you make a trek. Were you rocking out to Bow Wow Wow? Okay. No, I want to hear the story. Don't do that. I want to hear the story. That's the question. Oh, dude. Look at him. He pushed his chair away. That was a good one. I'm sorry. Enough out of me. Sean, I promise nobody will make any comments. I just have genuine questions, honestly. So it's a few miles to get to the candy store, right? How far? Yeah, but it's about 20 minutes away, but it's a really good place. I mean, they've got every kind of candy you can imagine, including all of those old candies that you grew up with. So you add a hankering for an Abba Zabba.
They do have Abazaba there. In fact, they have all different flavors of Abazaba. So it was you and your wife? Yeah, we were both there. And it was a weekend? Yeah. Was it a plan during the week or was it a spontaneous, hey, let's go to the candy store? No, we always have a plan. How far in advance? I'd say a week before. So like the prior Saturday, you were like, hey, next weekend we really got to hit the candy shop. Yeah, because we were low on a couple things, so, you know, wanted to stock up. Okay, out of curiosity, what were you getting a little low on? Well, we have a... This is awesome. Yeah, this is good stuff. We have this... You know those things in, like, roller rinks where it's like the crane? And you have the little controls and you drop the little bucket down. Oh, yeah. And pull it up and it like picks up. You have one of those? Yeah. Yeah, we have one of those. It's a small one, though. It's a small one that goes on like a countertop. Okay. That's awesome. And so we always fill that with candy because we have, you know, relatives and sometimes they bring their kids over. But also Dina likes to play it at night. So we always have a lot of stuff in there. And we only had a few things in there. We have like gumballs, Smarties.
Tootsie Rolls. We have Kit Kats. All kinds of stuff. And one of the things that I really wanted to get was they have Kit Kats from all over the world there. And one of the flavors is banana. I love the banana Kit Kats. What? Wait, what? Yeah. You get Kit Kats from all over the world? Yeah. Banana Kit Kats? Yeah, the banana ones are from Japan. They have banana. They have green tea, which is really good. I'm in. I'm in. And they have strawberry. That's crazy. Yeah, they're so good. Hey, I'm in on you taking the trip to the candy store. It's a good place. I want to check this out. You go, and what happens? Yeah, we go, and they have, in addition to candy, they have all kinds of other things, like apparel, shirts. One of the things they have are wristbands, like those stretchy wristbands. Well, I see a kid take a Tootsie Roll wristband and he puts it on. I'm watching him like, well, it's weird he's putting it on, but whatever. And then I see him inch it up his arm all the way up to his bicep and then pull his short sleeve shirt down over top of it. And I know exactly what he's going to do. Right. So I'm eyeballing him and he sees me eyeballing him.
So he walks around the corner just a couple more feet away from me. And I see him taking stuff off the shelf and putting it in his pocket. Whoa. Not cool. So I walk over to him. I look at him and I go, that's not happening today. And he looks at me like, what are you talking about? And I go, give me it. Give it all to me. Out of your pockets and take that thing off your arm. So he gives me the stuff out of his pocket and stands there. And I go. on your arm, the band, let's go. And so he takes that off and gives it to me. Then my wife says to him, empty all your pockets right now. Holy cow. Like candy police? And so, and I didn't think the kid was going to, you know, I thought he would just take off or say F you or whatever. He actually emptied all of his pockets, like cell phone, wallet, all that stuff. He had nothing left. And so I said, I said, take your ass and get the hell out of here. Wow. So he left. And then we noticed he was hanging out outside. Yeah. So we went up to the counter. You know, we were checking out. And we were like, hey, there's this kid out there. This is what he looks like. He was stealing from you earlier. You know, just so you know. And they're like, oh, yeah, we're going to ban him from the store and all this stuff. Right. So he tried to come back in while we were still there. And they told him he was banned for life. Wow. Wow. Oh.
That's an interesting story. Way to go, Shawnee O. He's a crime fighter. Citizens of Rest. That's right. There's a couple hot buttons I have. One is kids. I don't like to see anything happen to kids. But the other is old people. And there's these old people that own the place. And so I don't like to see that. And then there's your obsession with candy. Yeah, that's true. That's not an obsession. Candy can't be harmed. No. Can't harm the candy. It's not that. You've got to earn it. That's right. Ashley's our assistant producer. She's 24 years old. Shut up, Annie. Ashley, anything new and exciting? Oh, I know what's new and exciting with Ashley. Yeah, my pits. Her pits. Whoa. Yeah. Her pits are dry. Yeah, it's working. What? It's crazy. She got this prescription. What is it? A deodorant? Like a roll-on? Yeah, it's called DrySol. And it's a roll-on. It's not from my doctor. DrySol. Describe it. You can smell my armpit. Describe it, Ashley. What is it? Like a roll-on deodorant? Oh, okay. Yeah. It's like a thing that has liquid in it, and then the top is kind of like squishy, and you kind of like press. You don't roll. You press. And with each press, it's kind of like a sponge, and it secretes a little bit of the dry salt liquid into my armpit. And what I do is I put on like eight times as much as they tell me to do. No!
Oh, wow. Five times a day. It burns my armpits and it makes them sting and red. But no sweat. So when she was using it as directed, it was not working. Not even close. No, it was not. Oh, they told me, yeah, two pushes on each arm. I'm like, oh, that covers like one part. Yeah. Give me a break. Yeah. You didn't know me. Like, all over. It's like a corner pit. I go, like, from my elbow down to, like, the middle of my back. I'm pressing this. And it's working, man. She is dry. That's cool. Right? Isn't that crazy? She's, like, swelling up right now. It's a revelation. Hey, listen. I'm telling you, man. I think we even put pictures on the website. Didn't we? Yeah. Oh, yeah. We put pictures on the website of what it used to be like. We should take pictures now of what it's like now. I mean, it's a big difference. It's gorgeous. I mean, one was the Exxon Valdez. What? Wait. What's that? It was a sweat spill. And they cleaned that area up. Killed a lot of animals. That's right. Sure did. It's better now. That's right. Boston Rob is our phone screener. And he's also back in the business of being a stunt boy. Every week.
He does bizarre foods with Boston Rob. I could not get that taste out of my mouth all day. I brushed my teeth like three, four times. Yesterday he ate a fruit that's just an awful, terrible thing called durian. And it's the worst because I'll burp later in the day. You don't need to go there. I thought we were being honest here. Shut up. Every time, man. I can't imagine how the cultures that do eat these things eat them. I really can't figure it out why they would do it. So gross. And then finally there is Zeth. Zeth is the youngest person on the Mikey Show. So there's seven people on the Mikey Show. Zeth's the youngest. He's only 22. And he won a competition, the Mikey Show Apprentice, and that's how he's on the show. That's right. A lot of stuff going on in the news. And also we got two guests in the studio today. One of them was the winner of Mikey Show Trivia, P1 Squishy. She's 23. Sky, you said you saw her out at the queue when we were doing our thing out there? I met her out there. Very nice. Very supportive. I like her a lot. Squishy, you've been listening a couple of years, right? That's right. And we also have a guy that wrote us and asked us if he could come in. He's an intern in our promotions department.
His name is Vito. He's 22. Right in the microphone, Vito. Let me get you right in that mic. Vito Corleone. That's right. Vito. Vito, you're 22, right? Yeah. And what was the deal? You met Sky out at one of her appearances and asked if you can come in. Yeah. I had been trying to get in since I started, and I just kind of saw her, and I asked her. You know what's interesting? A few people have mentioned you, and everybody says you're real nice. Everybody. A few people have brought Vito up. And everybody that brings Vito up says he's a real nice guy. What was it? Why did you want to come and hang out? I've been listening to you since... I'm from Monterey, and I've listened to you since you were on KSJL. Oh, wow. So I've been just, you know, I'm a huge fan. I was dying just to get in here and watch the show. That's really cool. Yeah. That's really cool. Well... Welcome and have fun. Thanks. Eddie, do you know if we're going to have food brought in by anybody today? Actually, one of the promotions people are bringing it. Okay, cool. We bring food to our guests when we come in here on Friday. It's a big deal. That's why we say you should always try to get in on P1 Trivia.
because a winner not only gets to come in and hang out in the studio, they get a laminated backstage pass for the Mikey show, and we also serve them breakfast and the whole deal, and they get to see a live performance during something that we do on the show now called Winter Plug All, where we have two people come in and battle it out on an acoustic guitar, and today it's going to be Kyle and Garrett. So they're coming in at the 8 o'clock hour, they're going to play, and it should be cool. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can call us at the beginning of the show and tell us anything you want. You can make a comment, ask questions, do whatever. It's up to you. P1 Jessie. Hi. How are you doing? I have a question for Sean. I was wondering where that candy store is and how do you get there? Well, Sean lives in the Bay Area and I'm surprised that Rob didn't recognize that when screening the phone call. Well, maybe she's calling for the Bay Area. I asked her that. I said, you know, Sean lives up in the Bay Area. She said, yeah. Oh, do you live in the Bay Area, Jessie? No, I don't. Are you going to book a flight to the Bay Area to go to said candy shop? What do you mean the Bay Area? What city? Oh, my God. Oh, no. Do you want to play dump chick later with us? I'll get a number. Yeah, get Jessie's number. We're going to utilize Jessie. Oh, my God.
No, listen, you're a sweetheart, but Jesse, the Bay Area is the area in California commonly known as the San Francisco Bay Area. Yep, yep, yep. Hang on the line, please. Yeah, not like Mission Bay. Yeah, get her phone number off. I hope she's not driving right now. B1 Giants fan. Hey, Mikey, what's going on? What's up? Hey, I wanted to give a shout-out to everybody that's doing the breast cancer three-day walk. It starts today. Shout-out. At the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Actually, I'm calling because my mom is a breast cancer survivor. And she's doing the walk. And actually, she's a P1, too. She's from Northern California. And she listens every day on the Internet. And she's doing the walk. That's awesome. And it starts at Del Mar and ends at Petco. Wow. Holy Toledo, man. They walk all the way from Del Mar to Petco? Yeah, they walk all the way from Petco. They go back down to Mission Bay Park and go kind of make the loop around and go back all the way. It takes three days. It's 60 miles. Oh, wow. I bet their little feetsies are tired. Right. And they hurt and stuff. That's really cool, man. Dude, Mikey. Yeah. Please. Okay. So I'm talking to this Jessie chick. Uh-huh. And she just asked me how Sean gets to the show every day. Okay. Let's talk to her again. Hey, thanks for the call, Giants fan. Hi, Jessie. I really hope she's not driving. Jessie. No. How old are you?
Six? No, come on. You're 20 years old? You're 20 years old? Yeah. You're the best. You're the best. I instantly think she's a sweetheart. Oh, I love her. I love her. Is that a snap judgment? When I judge somebody and I say your sweetheart just... It's a good judgment. It's a good judgment. It's good to judge people in a sweet way, right? Yeah. Yeah, of course. She's my favorite. Because I think Jessie's a sweetheart. Jessie, the way that Sean gets here is via... Teleport. No. No, he does it. Donkey. He does it by technology. Time machine. Flying carpet. He's connected in a studio in the Bay Area in San Francisco in a six-story building right now. And we talked to him via something called ISDN line. It's like a satellite. Roller skates. Okay, see, I never knew that. That's okay. Lawnmower. That's okay. We're letting you know. How was she supposed to? How was she supposed to know? Pogo stick. Thank you. All right, Jessie. That's a good one. That's a good one. Did Rob get all your information because we're going to call you back? Yeah, I got her number one. All right, thank you. All right, Jessie. The back of an eagle. We'll see you. Wow, that's one big eagle. The back of an eagle. Me and Beowulf. Wow. Sweet. Wow.
Let's see. P1, paparazzi is on the line. Oh, man, that was great. You can't say Eddie. Wait a minute. Now, this was interesting because Eddie had a giant smile on his face. Right at the moment, I said, P1, paparazzi is on the line. And it instantly dissolved, and he gave me the break sign. He started giving me a fast. He gave me the break sign. He was giving me the fast break sign. Like, we've got to break. We've got to break. We've got to go to commercial. We've got to break. It's time. Paparazzi is a. No. Paparazzi is... Personally, he's one of my favorite listeners. What? Why? I'll tell you. Because he's been there through the thick and the thin. We call him paparazzi because when we used to do personal appearances, he would show up and take a very inappropriate amount of photographs. Creepy. And what he is, is his name is Brad, and he calls in...
All the time. And sometimes he even appears at our studios and our houses. Anywhere we are, it's really cool. Well, the thing is that the rap on paparazzi is that sometimes he can be a little overzealous. Sometimes. And sometimes some people say that he will be a bit of a pest. But when he calls in, he's generally got good questions. And his, you know, his commentary is generally pretty good. What were you calling about, paparazzi? I've got a question and a suggestion. Okay. Just for Sean. How old was the kid that was stealing? Was he like 12 years old? Was he like a team that could afford to fight him? I'd say, yeah, he was probably about 14. That's a good question. I didn't ask that. And what else, paparazzi? And the suggestion is there's an item. they've been talking about on P1Side.com in regards to something that Bob can eat, or in this case, drink. I think what a false sign. It's a mouse wine. And they take rice wine, and they take fresh baby mice still living, and they put them in a bottle, and then they let the experiment. I could barely understand. That's gross. I don't know if it was that the phone was breaking up, or it was my hearing, or whatever. It was hard for me to understand. Yeah. Eddie, did you follow it?
Yeah, he's talking about this thing called mouse wine, where they take this mouse and they put alcohol in it and let it ferment. They put a mouse in a bottle? Yeah. Oh, come on. A baby mouse. Who does that? What culture? Asia. Asia does that? Yeah. Why do they do weird stuff? Probably taste good. It doesn't. It doesn't. It doesn't. It's probably velvety when it goes down. I wouldn't think so. A little cheesy. That's awful. All right, well, we'll get some paparazzi, and we'll have Rob do it for Bizarre Foods with Boston Rob. Thank you, man. We'll see you. All right, we have to take a break, but when we come back, I'm going to tell you about somebody famous that just got a DUI on a Vespa. I'm not kidding. Get out of here. I'm not joking. Is that even possible? I'm telling you that somebody just got a DUI. It's a guy. It's a guy. Oh, man. What? And he's actually, like, known as being, like, a tough guy and a cool guy. That's the most un-tough do you ever. I know, dude. He is a gay man. No, I'm telling you that you guys do it on a vest. So when we come back, I'm going to tell you who that is. And Dane Cook's in the stand-up spotlight. The show's stand-up spotlight. 105.3. I started getting all this, like, history channel stuff, you know?
I can't stop recently, right? That's one of those things. Except whenever they show, like, whenever they show on those history channels, like, old pictures of, like, any kind of, like, Revolutionary War or Civil War veterans, like, those pictures, you know those pictures, they're all sepia-toned. On top of that tone, pictures, like, it could be, like, 50 soldiers lined up. They all have that exact same face. You know what I'm talking about? All 50 guys put all their railroad stuff down, and they're all making that same face like this. It's for history. Morning, so much better. I appreciate that, dude. That's very nice of you to say. Rock. Five, three. This Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the fairgrounds. Dude, if you ski or snowboard, you should go to Snow Jam. Snow Jam. Famous for amazing deals. I'll get a bit of a moist ride out here this morning. A little light rain, a little drizzle here in some parts of the county, making the roadways slick, so be careful out there. Right now, we're getting by with a light commute, though, as well. Southbound's out of the 15, a little bit tight from Auto Parkway down to Villa Rancho, and then you're good to go. The coaster ride, Southbound 5, has some brake lights off and on out of Lucadia now down towards Solana Beach. No worries at all, pretty much out of the East County. The westbound 52 just has a minor slowdown at the top of the summit. West 8, you're good to go all the way to Mission Valley to 94 Kingfee. We're also looking clear in the downtown. North 805 out of the South Bay, that's a little bit tougher here. From H Street, off and on up towards Imperial Avenue, slows again through North Park, and now a minor delay in Kearney Mesa. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show. Who's this? Hold on, man. I just want to tell you that AIS. How much did they save you? $300. $300 a month? Yeah. Holy cow. I was paying like $400. Featuring Mikey. I don't like horror movies anymore. Used to be my favorite genre of film. Eddie. I have a very big real fear of throwing up. Sky. I was just thinking in my head, I'm Sean. I really like going to the doctor's office. Boston Rob. Even though I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. And Ashley. I am a really, really, really healthy eater. Mikey Show's on. 105.3. I have a sign that I'm getting old. Not old. I know that when people are like 55 and they hear a 37-year-old man say that, it must sound so incredibly immature and so stupid. So it's... I had a sign yesterday that I'm getting older. Not that I'm getting old, that I'm getting older. And it was when I was driving to my therapist, I was listening to the radio and the song Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac came on and I cranked it. Nice. And I was rocking out. Let me play it. What's going to be great is when you're driving Jake to school or whatever and you're carpooling and he's got his buddies in the car and you're like, hey, check this out. It's CCR, guys. Woo!
you're like dad it's just it's so funny to me because i like 10 years ago 10 years ago i was cool yeah like i'm not kidding and i'm 37 now and i was cranking this and i was like i'm like bob and and like it suddenly it struck me and i was like and i'm listening to the instruments like i'm like yeah that drums that is bad man that's cool and i'm like oh man like something's up I'm like listening to the words of it, and I'm like, dude, tell her, dude. Tell her. Lindsey Buckingham is the dude that sings this song, and he wrote it about Stevie Nicks because she was cheating on him, and all the words are like, shacking up's all you want to do, and I'm like, yeah, dude. It is 644. The judge yesterday told Britney Spears' lawyer that she needs to respond to drug tests whenever she's called, even if it's at 8 a.m. The Bolts take on the Colts Sunday night. All the action can be heard right here on Rock 105.3. This is a guy whose girlfriend is cheating, and he wants her to be with him so bad, but he realizes that he's already lost her. And that's her harmonizing with him. How weird. Because they recorded it. How bizarre is that? He's writing all this about his girlfriend who's in his band cheating on him with another guy in the band. Error. Yeah, I'm like, Jake, isn't that a trip, dude?
Dad. And he's like, don't drop me off near my friends. Right. Change it. Drop me off a block away. Rebecca said she did that to her mom. And it's such an awful thing in her memory now that she used to do that. Because her mom used to drive a station wagon. And she didn't want her friends at school to see her getting dropped off in a station wagon. So she used to make her mom drop her off the block before the school. and she says she thinks about it now and she's like what a monster i was so mean yeah i did something similar because um we had a motorhome but it was like an old like i'm sorry motorhome and um you know so if one of the cars would have to be in the shop for whatever the motorhome was like the backup car and so a couple times Can you imagine? And I thought, God, if I get dropped off, people will think I live in that thing. Oh, absolutely. Listen, if you're 13 years old, if you're 12 or 13 years old, getting dropped off at school in a station wagon is bad. Getting dropped off in a motorhome is life-ending. An old, used, broken-down motorhome. Forget it. Oh, my. Now, when I was driving yesterday in my car, I saw this girl who was probably like 13 years old.
but she looked older than that, but you could tell she was probably 13. She's standing on the corner, and all these other kids are walking home from school or whatever, and she's standing on the corner like this. Love it. And all I have to do to explain it is, arms crossed, Avril Lavigne. Right. Perfect. Okay? That gives you the visual. And I thought to myself, at that very moment, if my kid... ever looks like that, I'm not going to correct it. I'm just going to let them grow out of it. I think the wrong thing to do is to tell your kid, will you smile? Like to pick them up and go, will you smile? Will you not look like you're so mad? Because I remember my parents doing that and all it did was make me want to do it more. Like make me want to act that way more. So just let them. You just let them do that because they're going to grow out of it, the arms crossed Avril Lavigne. Right. Unless you're Avril Lavigne. Unless you make a career out of it. Yeah, unless your career revolves around you saying to people, get off your bed. In your lyrics, get off my bed. So, Mickey Rourke got a DUI on a Vespa. No way. A baby blue Vespa. Does that make it better? Well, might as well have been pink at that point. If it's baby blue, it might as well be pink. Yeah. So, I guess this was...
yesterday morning but like we're talking like you know three four o'clock in the morning in miami uh when him and his date emerged from a club and got on the baby blue vespa together uh he went and made a u-turn right in front of a cop And the cop pulled him over and said, dude, you just swerved right there. You know, I need to talk to you. And he said, no, dude, I'm all right. I didn't swerve. And the cop's like, I saw you. The cop said his face was all flushed. His eyes were bloodshot. He claims he wasn't drunk. But then goes on. That he was high. He told the cop, I'm not drunk. I didn't even drink that much. Well, you just admitted that you've been drinking. Yeah. So anyways, he was taken into custody yesterday morning. What's that movie, Eddie, with Mickey Rourke where he's a meth cooker? Spun. Oh, that's a great movie. Dude, you know what? I remember seeing that movie and thinking Mickey Rourke is extraordinarily gifted as an actor. He's a really good actor. He's awesome in Sin City. He's great in that movie. Is that the...
Frank Miller novel that they made into a movie. He's really good, huh? He's really good in that. I remember when I saw the movie Spun, I was 32 years old and I thought, I'm not old enough to see this movie. I need a shower after that. Yeah, you gotta be about 48. No. I don't think you're ever old enough to see Spun. I haven't seen it and for that reason. Gross, man. You wanna borrow it, Sky? No, thank you. Okay. I'm good. Trying to be nice. This ought to be good. Rosie O'Donnell. Rosie O'Donnell. was doing a video blog. She really likes to get into the video blogging and the blogging. Like, maybe instead of being on the computer all the time, Rosie, maybe go for a walk. Yeah. Well, here is Rosie talking about, on her video blog, about losing the show that she was supposed to have on MSNBC. Which, some of you right now are probably going, she was going to have a show on MSNBC. She was.
Then they said, no, you're not. For like a second. For like a second. Cut one. I'm going to answer some blog questions. You heard the big whole MSNBC thing. Listen, it's all right. You've got to believe what happens is supposed to happen. We're in the bottom of the ninth inning. Almost there. The game was almost over. No, it's okay. Because I'm not quite sure that a pundit would have been the best thing for me. But who knows? I was willing to maybe try it. Just as well. And hey, Keith Olbermann, the best news show on TV. If you're only going to watch one, watch that guy. Let's see what I take away from it. Just strange and unusual. Strange and unusual is the best way to describe that. Most people go through a publicist to issue a statement, a video blog, I guess second best. Yeah, to each their own.
Okay, give us a call if you would like to play a little Ashley Pyramid. Now, you don't actually play. Sky, I'll play for you. Come on, Sky. I'm feeling it, Ash. The way the game is played, it's just like a $25,000 pyramid, but it's with Ashley, and she's trying to describe stuff to Sky, and Sky's trying to figure out what it is that she's describing. Sky speaks, Ashley. I wish we could go on the real game, Sky. Yeah. I think we'd do great. I don't think it's on anymore. I wish it was still on so we could be on it. See, I knew she meant that. See? There you go. So call us if you want to play. 570-1053. We got any good prize today, Eddie? Yeah, we got more tickets to the grand opening of the John Lovitz Comedy Club. Awesome! I went in there with my fiance. About three weeks ago, we're not getting married for like five and a half weeks. I mean, sorry, five and a half months. And they're holding it for us for five and a half months before we get married. That's rad. Yeah, so, and I haven't heard anybody talk about that, so. That's pretty awesome. Yeah, it was way awesome. And on top of that, we got like, I think it was like a thousand bucks off the deal because we found one on the internet. It was like pretty crazy. That's awesome, dude.
She's going to a sleep train center. Anybody should go into a sleep train center if they're looking to buy a new bed. That's fantastic. Thank you for the call. Yeah, no problem. Bye. One of the reasons that I find John so interesting is because he's one of the most honest people I've ever heard. When the thing happened with Andy Dick, and it was very, very serious business, because when it first happened, I thought, is it a publicity stunt? Is it something like that? It wasn't. It was all very real, the stuff that happened between you and Andy. Have you seen him since, or no? You've never seen him since then? No, if I saw him again, I'd start swinging. Oh, my God.
Wait a minute. But wait, I thought that once it happened, it was over and that like... No, if he walked in right now, I would get up and smash his face. Now, wait a second. That means that it didn't get resolved, John. It didn't get resolved when you saw him. No, I only got to push him twice and then the bodyguards broke it up. Yeah. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Welcome back. It is 6.59. Southwest is offering a new promotion that will let you pay extra to board the plane first. Heads up, fantasy football fans. Chiefs Larry Johnson officially out for Sunday's game versus Denver. All right, welcome back to the show. We have Anthony Vito Corleone. Vito. Hanging out in the studio. He's an intern from our promotions department. We also have P1 Squishy, who won P1 Trivia to be able to come and hang out in the studio. And so it's pretty cool. So they're both hanging out in the studio.
Ashley Pyramid. Hey! Let's do it! I do have the details coming up in just a second on why Amy Winehouse had her house raided. It was not about drugs. They didn't raid her house because they were looking for drugs, so I'll have that coming up. Ashley, are you ready to kick butt on Ashley Pyramid? Yeah, I am. You know it. Yeah, I like it. Well, see, Skye speaks Ashley, and so... She's really the only one that does. Yeah. That's true. That's very true. You're like the Ashley Whisperer. That is so accurate. That's really it. Skye, how did you develop this ability to be able to speak Ashley? I mean, I don't think it's an ability. It was just from the first day. Oh, it's a gift. It's a gift. It really is. For sure. For sure. All right. Because most of us, we really don't know what she's saying, but you always interpret for us. It's crazy. Yeah. It's really crazy. It's an amazing bond that we have. P1 Darkness. How are you doing, Mikey? Good, man. How are you? I'm good. Good.
Okay, Sky's going to be doing a little Ashley Pyramid for you. And the prize, Eddie? We got tickets to the grand opening of John Lovitz's new comedy club this weekend. There you go. Oh, yes. That's Ashley doing John Lovitz. Thank you. Thank you, Mike Lovitz. Almost called 911. What? Are you okay? Huh? All right, guys. Here's the way that we play the game. I'm going to put you on hold, Darkness, okay? All right. Hang on a second. Put him on hold. That means that Skye's headphones are off. She cannot hear what these clues are. However, you and the listening audience can. Ashley has to get five of them in 60 seconds in order for P1 Darkness to win. Are you guys ready? Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Let's begin. Animals you hunt to eat. Animals you find in the forest. No, no, no. Deer. Yes, that's correct. Things you do when you camp. Things you do when you're camping. Yes. Things a football player would say in a game. Touch. A football player says. Yes. Eddie Murphy movies. Um, Natty Professor 1, Natty Professor 2. That is correct. Things in a bakery. Astries, croissants. Things you bake, things you find in a bakery. Scones. Yes, yes, you got it. Very, very good word. Do you want darkness? Sky just won for you. What do football players say? What? Yes.
You can always hear Phillip Rivers going up behind center going, one, two, three, four. P1 Irish. Not too much. It sounds like Sky and Ashley are on a roll. They're really connected. So you may be going to see John Lovett's new comedy club hang on the line, okay? Are you ready, Ashley? Yeah. Are you ready, Sky? Yes. Here we go. Things you hear at the airport. Sounds in an explosion. Hey, hey. Hey, thank you for taking this office. Hey, everybody, get on the flight. And this is your... Things you hear during takeoff. Things you hear on an airplane. Things a stewardess says. Do you love that he bombs on you? Things that the security at the airport says. I'm going to give it to you. I'm going to give it to you. Things you hear at the airport. That was the same one. Then go to the next one. Different ways to cut wood. There we go. You can chop it. That's it. With a knife. With a chain.
Things you hear on infomercials. With a chainsaw or with a... Cutting utensils. Axe. You can use an axe. Things you used to cut down a tree. You can use an axe or a chainsaw, Skye. Things to cut down a tree, to cut down your Christmas tree, to... Because then you can make fire with it. So you use a chainsaw or you use an eye? I'm going to give it to you. Things a cheerleader would say. Okay, team. We're the best in cheerleader teams. Yes. Things you do when you propose. Aww. So the first one, Skye, that she was trying to give was things you hear at an airport. I hate airports. What was that first thing she said? What did you say? That was a plane. That's an airport. What do you hear? Would you like a Cinnabon? What do you hear at an airport? I don't even get that. The white area is for loading and unloading of passengers. I don't even go to airports. I hate to fly.
That's true. That was tough for her. She has flown before. Okay, but I was wasted. Hello. Hello. Sky, and then the one that she was really angry at you about. Yeah. The one about the chainsaw. Was different ways to cut wood. Different ways to cut wood. I call shenanigans. Because you pretty much said it, right? You said to cut down a tree. That's different. That's way different. Like that. So would things you use to cut wood be acceptable? Yes. Yeah, that's what it was. It was different ways to cut wood. Little Ashley Pyramid. Their fault, not ours. We should give the listener a prize anyways, because they messed up. I didn't get to the Amy Winehouse story, so I promise you when we come back after this break, I'll tell you why Amy Winehouse had her house raided and it wasn't drugs. That's next. You are listening to The Mikey Show. Indeed.
It's Radio Rubio's. Charles Walter here in Baja, Mexico, where the locals are celebrating the return of enchiladas to the Rubio's menu with the first-ever Enchilada Regatta, a parade of tanker-sized enchiladas that will sail north, spreading the enchilada gospel. We feel its Mexican flavor and attitude are much too bold to be referred to as an ordinary light b****. Our censors, b**** is a four-letter word. They didn't even allow b**** to be mentioned in the same commercial as Tecate Light. Not even to explain the difference between b**** and cerveza. So as you can hear, all references to b**** have been censored for your protection in order to avoid any unintended association between light b**** and Tecate Light Cerveza. Right now, no major problems. We do have a little light rain, a little drizzle in some parts of the county. Keeping things a little bit slick in some areas, so just use some caution, especially those off-and-on ramps. That's where we usually get into trouble making those transitions. Right now, the southbound side of the 5 has got the heavier ride out of the county. It's a little bit tight from Lucadia down towards Manchester. South 15, you're doing okay out of Escondido. A brief delay right around Villarancho Parkway. Pretty much good to go past that. East county is looking great. Westbound 52, full speed up the hill out of Santee. The westbound 8, you're good to go all the way to Mission Valley. On the 94 King Freeway, you will find this stuff of... Bit of a slowdown around the 805. There's an accident clearing here on the right-hand shoulder. And then slows again from 32nd Street in towards downtown. And both the 5 and 805 northbound have some stuff to deal with out of Chula Vista up to National City on both these freeways. 805 stays slow in the North Park off and on. Then again out of Kearney Mesa. And the northbound 5 got some slow traffic heading towards the bridge in towards downtown. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. Mikey Morning Show.
I love it. I love it. I love what a spectacle it is. The Mikey Show continues featuring Mikey. A lot of my issues stem from my relationship with my mother. A wee bit competitive. Sky. I own a spaceship. Oh, does that mean it's true? Save that clip. Sean. It's so frustrating because I can't swear. I'm low rent. Come on, let's... And Ashley. I'm a good driver. No, you're not. I am. No, you're not. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. It's been a while. Look at Ashley with a big smile on her face. This is a jam. Yeah, this is new Britney Spears music. Oh, wow. I know it's in my world, but I know it's in my world, but I know it's in my world, but I know it's in my world, but I know it's in my world, but I know it's in my world. Poor receptionist here at Clear Channel San Diego. She has just invested in that Britney Spears. Sarah, the girl that works at the front desk, she just defends that Britney Spears. It doesn't matter what happens. She defends that Britney Spears. Welcome back. It's 7-13. Hallmark has asked the judge to dismiss Paris Hilton's lawsuit against them. They say she asked for the attention. Okay, the NFL may be getting a little out of control. They fined Terrell Owens $10,000.
For waving a towel. That's ridiculous. Getting a little overboard. Little. Idiot. Ladies and gentlemen, that music is an indication that three people are about to be helped. Yes. They're about to be healed. They're about to be helped. No. I feel like I'm kind of like Mr. Miyagi. And I'm standing over San Diego and I'm doing that thing with my hands. Getting ready to fix them. You're warming your hands. You're wiping them together to make the heat. And then you're going to put those healing hands. It's like you're making San Diego wax a bunch of cars right now. When all they want is a little advice. They'll get it. Exactly. You're right. Yes, Sky. You nailed it. I'm a better fighter. In other words, he's training them. Good point. No. No. He's punishing them. And here we go. You get me. You get me. No.
This is where Eddie doles out advice, and he does it in a real way. He doesn't placate people. He tells them the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. That's right. Can she not do that ever again? Just like you heard that cat just meow. I didn't like that at all. What? Our first letter reads, Dear Eddie, I have a problem in my life that I can't get a hold of. My soon-to-be wife has brought home a female stray cat. Oh. It's about six to seven months old. and coming into its first heat. My fiancé just moved here from Texas to go to school and she needs her sleep, but this cat will not stop rubbing its butt on everything in sight and calling out to other cats, which is the major problem here. So, because right now we don't have the money to pay for it to be fixed, we're going to have to wait it out. We looked for answers on the internet and we found a site
that said that we can use a Q-tip to appease the cat. So she tells me, let's do that. It's her cat. I love my fiancé, but hate cats. What should I do? Signed, P1 Combat Sewer. Okay. Eddie? Kitty Kitty Bang Bang. Oh, well. I'm actually surprised when you were searching on the internet, you didn't come across a fine site that I like to peruse from time to time. Howtokillfluffy.org. That's not a site. Very informative. And it wouldn't be an organization. It wouldn't be a .org. Very informative. A .org. Give me a break. And quite creative, gosh darn it all. I mean, really. Mikey, you should check it out. Yes. I'm writing that down. Yes. Howtokillfluffy.org. I'm sure. .org. Yeah. It's an organization? It is.
It's amazing. I mean, I'm talking homemade rockets into space. Something called the cheese grater pause. I'm not sure what that is, but I'm probably good. One of my all-time favorites, the Chinese food special. Mira Mesa loves that one. Oh, I bet you think you're so funny. I'm just letting you know. Anyway, not sure what site is telling you to use a Q-tip as your cat's lover, but go ahead and send that link to Sean. He's into furry pervert stuff. So, tell your fiancé that if she doesn't bring back that thing she found back to where it belongs, and I'm talking hell here, people, then you will log on to howtokillfluffy.org and follow the Catastrophe or Catastrophic How-To. You're welcome. You're terrible. Harming an animal is illegal, for the record. Our next letter reads... Thank you, Sky. That's a good one, Sky. It's a law, Eddie. That's a good one. Our next letter reads... You can be an accessory to it. I'll turn you in. Hey, Eddie, help me, Oracle. You're my only help. I got married five years ago to a great girl. We had a kid right away, and ever since then, she's been slowly turning into a beating just like Sky. Hey, shut your mouth. She says our kid is hyperactive and may have some sort of hyperactivity disorder.
Honestly, the kid does have a lot of energy, but he's a kid. What kid doesn't have a lot of energy? So ever since Sky started talking about Dr. Feinstein and Red Dye. It's Feingold. And Red Dye number five. My wife is convinced it has something to do with the food he's eating. So now I have to buy all this organic and free range stuff. Awesome. And I'm going broke. It's better for everyone. Eddie, seriously, what can I do? Eddie, cool. You can already tell. Pretty soon we'll be back to living paycheck to paycheck. Signed, P1 Gabe from Oceanside. Apocalypse chow. What? I don't get what the deal is with all this organic and free-range food.
So an organic cow wasn't ejected daily with growth hormones? Let me tell you something. Growth hormones taste good. Yes, they do. I mean, the last thing I want to eat is a skinny, like, Nicole Richie cow. I want a nice, fat, Rosie O'Donnell cow. In fact, I want a Rosie O'Donnell cow with Donald Trump's hair, Flavor Flaves clocked, And David Copperfield's libido, all wrapped in milk. Well, I don't have him own tortilla. That's what I want. Yes! All right, here's how... Okay, here comes the advice. Oh, good. Here's how you can change your fixation on this organic food, okay? Each night, hit her water with a couple of squirts of Visine. Oh! No one ever knew that. Now, if you've ever worked in a restaurant, you know that Visine turns someone's bells into a Tijuana beach, okay? That's very dangerous. You're not too bad. After about a week of dropping that hint, that it's probably the organic stuff. That hint. You know, a little hint. Visine in her water. Subtle. Maybe you just go, you know.
Maybe it's organic food, honey. And then when she makes something that isn't organic, you know, hold off on the T1 IST and then problem solved. Love it. So your advice so far this morning is to abuse animals and poison your spouse. I did not say to abuse an animal. I offered a website. Tie them to a rocket. Tie them to a rocket. I offered a website. And then go and poison your wife. It's not my website. Both of these things are illegal. I did not create the website. Illegal. You don't know anything. Sky, it's a non-profit for crying out. It's an org. It's an org. Dot org. It is not. It's a dot org. It's got to be safe. This is probably the worst advice yet. No. I think we're good. I got one more in me. I love it. And then I'll be spent. I think we're good. Come on. Our last one reads. Get my towel ready. All right. And by the way, Eddie, thank you. You're welcome. Yeah, thank you. You got it, buddy. Our last letter reads. Woo!
Sky, you might try thanking him every once in a while. This guy's in here working. It's the thought that counts. Don't you turn on me, Ashley. You're harming people. Our last letter reads, Dear Eddie, I was so mad at you a few weeks ago. Mad at me? Yeah, and so is all in capital. So with a bunch of O's. You were mad at Skye because she didn't want to eat fish and she told you it was because she doesn't like certain textures. Well, I am the same way. My girlfriend is always trying to get me to eat things with the wrong texture. My food is yummy and I don't need to try new things. Mine is fine, so there. I put Skye on this email too, so next time you boys...
Give her a hard time, Skye. Just say that. If you like fish, fine, but don't force it on Skye or me. Signed P1 Steve in Normal Heights. Yes, Steve. Eddie. Dear Homotexual. Hey, girl. First of all, can we all agree on everything? abnormal heights from this point on. Abnormal heights. All in favor, say, hi. You? Maybe you didn't hear it. You gotta say, hi. You want to post, it still passes. Alright, let's forget the whole food thing for a minute, and let's address your pretend girlfriend. If you really have a girlfriend, break up with her because A, she already knows you're gay, or B, she might find you staring at those Abercrombie posters at the mall a little too long, and it's going to give it away, okay? And for you naysayers in the audience saying, hey, Oracle, how do you know this guy likes his pickles whole? No.
The answer's simple. He said, yummy. Dead giveaway. That's okay. Dead giveaway. Mikey stated, and I agree, that any guy that says yummy, gay. With one exception, Mikey's brother Steve, and I have my question. You ask me, he's one apple away from a fruit hat, okay? No. Once again, my advice, break up, don't say yummy, and become Skye's first and only girlfriend. How dare you. I'm spent. I'm throwing it in. Skye, can you hear it? So two times, illegal advice, and then not even addressing the question. I can hear it coming up. I can hear it now coming up rosecrans. It's the sound of healing. Woo!

The ride's getting a little bit busier out here, but overall we're getting by with a fairly light one compared to what we've had the rest of the week out here. And we're dealing with some fog and drizzle and light rain. So just be careful out there, especially those off and on ramps. Right now out of the South Bay, both the 5 and 8.05 northbound getting a little bit tougher out of Chula Vista up to National City. 8.05 continues slow all the way through North Park. Now you've got the Kearney Mesa over the 52 kind of commute there as well. Northbound 5 has brake lights up through National City in towards downtown. downtown. Westbound side of the 94, that's a bit of a slowdown now from the 805 all the way into the 5 freeway. West 8 hasn't been too bad this morning. You'll find some brake lights right around Spring Street out to Lake Murray, but then from there you're good to go all the way to Mission Valley. The 52 looking pretty good out of Santee, just a bit of a slowdown at the top of the summit. Heading south in the 15 out of Escondido, that's now tight from Auto Parkway down to Villarancho. And the coaster rides southbound 5 slows from La Costa into Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. P1 Sanjaya.
What's going on, Mikey? What's going on, dude? You went to Sleep Train? I went out to Sleep Train and bought myself a mattress, finally. When'd you do it? I went this Sunday, actually. Cool. What'd you get? Yeah, I got a Beautyrest Comfort Classic. Did they deliver it Sunday, Monday, or when? Sunday when I told them to, because I was moving that day. Really? It worked out perfect. That's pretty awesome. And did they take your... Well, wait a minute. If you were moving, did they have to take your set or did you get rid of it yourself? No, I got rid of it myself. So they bring the new one in. Did they set it up for you? They set it up for me within like five minutes. And how did it feel that first night? Just like being in heaven. That's awesome, man. That's awesome, dude. That's awesome. Yeah, I tell people about Sleep Den. Did they give you a good price? Oh, yeah, dude. I went in there that afternoon. After the promotion about getting everything for free, after I told him that Mikey sent me personally, he knocked off 700 bucks. That's awesome. Yeah. All right, brother. Thank you, Sanjaya. All right, dude. Talk to you later, man. Sleep change your ticket to a better night's sleep. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I'm really, really impatient. Eddie. I like to think of myself as particular. Sky. As we all know, like a deal. Sean. I don't like any of the major sports. Boston Rock.
Bostonians are tight-knit people. And Ashley. Well, I'm actually, like, awake and, like, alert. The Mikey Show's on. Anyway. Rock on 5.3. Back to you, Mike. Welcome back to the show. 7.30. A Poway mortuary that was featured on a TV show on A&E has been put on probation because an employee was doing embalmings without a license. Ex-MVP Eric Lindros finally retires from the NHL. Looking at you. So I told you I wanted to tell you about this Amy Winehouse deal. She's the chick that sings Rehab, currently needs it. She is British, right, Sky? Mm-hmm. She's got really bad teeth. If you've ever seen the photograph, she's got real bad teeth. And when she sings, she sounds just like what you would imagine that Gary Coleman would sound like from different strokes. Yep.
First time I ever heard this song, I thought, I wonder if Gary Coleman put a record out. But that's a white girl with a big old beehive haircut. My wife bought her record and said the whole record's real good. Got great reviews. But the deal is that she's pretty... She's had her recent history with drugs. Hard drugs, right? Yeah, there have been overdoses, there's been, you know, full-on fights, there's been talk of her cutting, breaking stuff, I mean. This guy showed me pictures of her on the internet, like her face is all scratched. Yeah. Her husband's face is all scratched up. Yeah. We gotta blur! There's blood soaking through her shoe. Oh, gross. Oh, yeah, it was awful. So...
When I heard that her house got raided, I thought, oh, man, I wonder how much heroin they're going to find. Yeah, that was my first thought, too. Right? Yeah. But that's not why she got raided. What was it about? Well, I guess it all has to do with her husband. So her husband is going to be on trial for allegedly assaulting a bartender, you know, in the London area, I believe. The police raided the home in connection to that because he's now, on top of being accused of assaulting the bartender, he's now being accused of him and his friends trying to offer the bartender $400,000 to go back to the police and to take back his statement of being assaulted. Oh, my. And so they call that perverting the course of justice. And he was arrested on those charges. What are they raiding for? Yeah, that was my thought. Lies. Yeah, evidence of that, maybe evidence of payment. They're searching the cupboards for lies and going through the oatmeal and sifting through it to see if he's stuck any lies in there. They're dusting for them. Dusting for lie prints. I think I found a lawyer. Skye, I'm afraid this is proof against your thoughts. This email says, Mikey can't get enough of tough love with Eddie. I hope it never ends.
Eddie, for as long as you're on the radio, you must continue the tough love. P1 Ryan. Done. That's proof, Skye. It helps. Whatever. It does not. It's helping the community. Help put people in jail? Is that what we're trying to do? We are not. Yeah. You told someone to poison their wife, dude. No. He didn't say poison them. He did not. He just said give them diarrhea. Yeah. By poisoning them. Hey, listen. Poison potato. That's not the saying. Tomato poison. No, again, not the saying. Mikey, dude, I'm 19 and I think Fleetwood Mac rocks. Poor guy. A little bit later on, we're going to be doing winner plug all. Today, Kyle and Garrett. They're going to come in, they're going to sing their own music and they're going to play guitar. Now, you don't have to play your own guitar. You could bring in guitars, but it has to be acoustic guitar and the voice and that's it. And we'll let listeners... text message us and tell us who they like better. Now, if you have not joined the P1 Text Army, don't worry, I'm going to give you details on how you can do that in just a little bit. But you've got to join the P1 Text Army. This is actual audio of Jennifer Lopez at her concert on Wednesday announcing that she's pregnant. Cut four. It's such a special time in audience. Tell me if there's four people. To wait till the last show is to not... She plays Soma? ...in audience with the thought of anything else except
She's got a balloon under her. Why are you excited? Like, duh. Expecting what? It's like her going up there and announcing she's Latina. Yes, you are? That's ridiculous. Aw, that's cute. Okay, this has got to be good, man. Dr. Phil went on Larry King to talk about Dog the Bounty Hunter. Cut 17. We called and asked him to come on the show. We got every excuse you can possibly imagine from his people. Oh, you didn't call us soon enough. Oh, yes, we did. We called the day that it broke. Oh, we need to talk to the network and see what A&E says. We talked to the network, and they said he can do whatever he wants. We'll give you clips from the show. We'll help you any way that we can. And then they said, you know, we just don't know what is going to be asked of him over there.
Because, you know, Dr. Phil asked hard questions. I had Reverend Al Sharpton on the show. I had the Bishop T.D. Jakes on the show. I had the mother of the girl that he was disparaging in the phone call on the show. What better chance? He says, I want to talk about this. I want to get it out there. I want to deal with this. So, fine. We've got African-American community leaders. We've got the mother. And they say, oh, you know, we're just nervous about it. We don't want to come answer the questions. I mean, come on. We could do Larry King, but Dr. Phil's too hard-hitting. Give me a break. Who's buying that, Phil? Yeah, I mean, he uses his time on Larry King to try and get a guest. Yeah, yeah. Wow. I mean, that's pathetic. Well, not only that, he's saying to Larry King who had him on, hey, listen, it was easy for you. Right. That's true. You're a cakewalk. Yeah, you're a cakewalk, but it's too hard to come and talk to me. I ask the questions that are too tough. Oh, please. Ew. That's weird, isn't it? Idiot. Yeah. uh... cut eighteen i don't think that dwayne chapman is a racist to tell you the truth i don't think that i would have said that to him if you'd come on the show and and face the leaders that we had there that had questions for him i think what he is is highly insensitive he says i i use this word and it's not it's not just the word it's the attitude that goes with it it's an insensitive attitude i don't think he's a racist i really don't think he means what he's saying
In a derogatory way. And I know there will be a lot of people that disagree with me because there was such a rancor in what he was saying in that tape. And I could argue both sides of that. But I think it's really more a matter of insensitivity. I agree. Listen, I mean, it's hard for me to say that when I'm saying it. I agree with him. And the other reason it's hard for me to say it is because I may be viewed as racist for having that opinion. But I do believe that. I think that Dog, the bounty hunter, is guilty of being insensitive and stupid. But I don't think that he's guilty of being racist. Although, I do stand by my other thing that I said, that I believe that he believes that there's a difference between a black person and an N-word. I think that's what he thinks. Cut 19. The private conversation between a father and a son could and should remain private. Now, that doesn't mean that... What he said in the conversation is okay, and once it's out there, you have to deal with it. But I have never heard him say that in public. I've never seen him expose that attitude on the air in anything that I've ever seen. Look, he grew up on the streets. I grew up on the streets a lot. The language out there is rough. The language out there is tough. Yeah, Dr. Phil, he grew up on the hard streets of Harlem. I don't know how many people know that. Hard streets of Austin? I've never heard that. I've never heard that.
The wrong side of Austin. I've never heard that. I grew up in the tough side of San Antone. Oh, no. And I was in a street gang of other doctors. Bald doctors. Bald doctors. Middle-aged bald doctors. We were tough. Yeah, man. There's some of the stuff that he's saying here that I kind of agree with. But, you know, for me, I said this too. It's not necessarily a matter of, take the racism out of it, okay? Imagine the last time you left somebody a voicemail and you were going off on someone. I'm not talking about racist stuff. I'm just saying, pick somebody in your life that you were mad about. And imagine voicemails that you've left over the years going off on that person. If we played that voicemail back on the air, You won't say one racist thing, but I guarantee you're going to sound messed up. And if we play it on the radio about you talking about another person and going off on them, you're going to sound bad. It doesn't matter what it is. If you're mad. Let's say you're mad at your brother, Joe. And you're talking to your friend, Steve. And you go, Joe is such a... And such a... And dude, I'm so sick of...
If we play it back on the radio, I guarantee you're not going to sound racist, but you're going to sound like a bad guy. And so you've got to factor that into the voicemail, too. I mean, take the racism part out of it. He already sounds like a D because he's talking about another human being publicly, and it already sounds bad. You throw the N-word into it, and holy Toledo, cut 20. I don't think he should just be given a platform again. I think he's got to make some commitments, and then I think he's got to live up to them. But I don't think you bury a guy because he made a mistake. I don't think you bury a guy and say, you know, that's it, you're done. I think you've got to give a person a chance to make amends, show that they're sincere about it, and if they don't live up to it, that's a different story. I feel, and this is different than most people, I think, that victimize themselves. And most people will say it's their own fault. They deserve it. They're bringing it upon themselves. And I don't disagree with that. I'm just a person that's self-destructive myself. So that's why... And I've said things I don't mean. And the reason that I've said them is because my intent is to hurt people that I'm talking to. And so I'm a victim of myself. Here he's asked about the N-word. Cut 21. Do you think the N-word is racist in and of itself?
Well, I do. And it's not just that it's those letters in that combination. It represents an attitude. It represents a condescension. It comes with a lot of emotional baggage. And when you say that, I think in most contexts, and there may be some context in which it can be actually a term of endearment among colleagues, friends, teammates, or whatever. But I think in 99.9% of the situations, I think it's emotionally loaded. I think it's hurtful. I think it's painful. And I think it's a negative thing. P1 Terrellin's on the line. So what do you think about the son just totally selling his father out? I mean, that is truly the ultimate betrayal. Eddie, what do you think? You know, I mean, it's not a, you know, that's a bad thing to do, obviously.
the motivation is that he didn't bail him out and he's mad at dog and all that stuff but i mean that's like basically trying to destroy his life and that's i mean that's uh pretty harsh yeah i don't know if the uh you know the punishment fit the crime you know and so it's pretty harsh and i don't know that they're going to be able to repair that and that's i mean it's just kind of the whole thing is kind of sad yeah in any way you slice it and i think what makes it sadder is there's a lot of talk about the son having an addiction problem and selling this tape because there's a need for money to fulfill his addiction. And, you know, again, that's sad. That's just a sick person who is going to obviously have a lot of consequences from that broken relationship down the road. But right now, his immediate thought is just, you know, getting money for drugs. Well, it was only $1,500, but he took away his father's complete livelihood. I heard it was $15,000. Yeah, Hawaii's revoking his Honey Hunter license. $15,000. $15,000.
Oh, see, they reported on MSNBC it was 1,500. That's probably a typo and they forgot a zero. No, it's still not right. Carolyn's like, okay, I'd do it. Worth it. No, that's not it. It's not right, but it doesn't make it nearly as horrible as 1,500. There you go. Thank you, Carolyn. Thank you. I read on TMZ yesterday that the girlfriend that he was talking about is considering suing him. Oh, come on. Slander, right? Slander. Like, that just makes it seem so bad. Like, so dumb. Eddie says The Office may have jumped the shark. Oh, no. Oh, no. Listen, I think I, I hate to admit it, I think I gave up on this show a while ago. You haven't even really watched it. No, I only watched it the last episode, and I thought it was dumb. It was cheesy. And I said, I think that they have forgot that the concept of the show is that it's a pretend documentary.
And it made so much sense when you said that because I've been wondering why I've been kind of dissatisfied. And when you said that immediately, I'm like, oh my gosh. It's a sitcom now. It's not what it was supposed to be. And that idea of it being a fake documentary is hysterical. That's great. The only thing that they do anymore that even gives you an inkling of that is that they still do the little side interviews, but it's so an afterthought. It's not that funny anymore. But you watched it last night, right, Eddie? Yep. This clip looks funny, but we'll see. This is Michael making fun of Toby on a camping trip. Cut 23. Yeah, just this whole Toby camping thing. Seems a little lame. How so? A bunch of guys in a tent making s'mores. Hello, I'm Broken Mountain. Hello, Broken Mountain sounds funny. Even though we couldn't really hear it in that clip. Yeah, I thought that... Same thing when I was watching it last night. It's like one of the only lines I thought was kind of funny was just kind of drowned out. It was weird. Here's the writers of The Office complaining. Cut 44. Anytime I meet somebody who is a new viewer of The Office, overwhelmingly they're watching it on the internet. They're watching it on DVDs.
We had 7 million iTunes downloads. The full-length episode is streamed online with ads. We're supposed to get paid 11 cents for every 200 trillion downloads. Don't run ads in this and then not pay us for it, though. In our second season, we were asked to write webisodes, and we wrote 10 original webisodes. The whole writing staff wrote them, but Paul and I worked on them a lot. and eight or nine of our series regulars acted in them, and they were all put on NBC.com, and they sold ads, and they're still available on NBC.com, and they're still selling ads. And they won an Emmy for their work on that. And we actually won a daytime Emmy for those webisodes. But no one was compensated for it. And we got paid for the Emmy Award. Well, apparently won't even pony up for the, like, 28-year-old-old-old-old-old-old-old-old-old-old-old-old-old-old. We just want to be paid for our promotions. I'm just whining. Well, it's the truth. I disagree. I don't think they're whining. I don't think so either. Hey, listen. I agree. If they were $7 million in the office, no doubt about it, but it's kind of tough. Eddie said, and I agree, these guys make a ton of dough, man. It doesn't matter. It does not matter. If he wrote the episode and he's not getting compensated, that's jacked. I understand, but...
Gosh darn it, isn't it kind of hard to listen to rich people complaining about not having enough dough? No, because it's irrelevant when it comes to the matter at hand, which is these writers are not getting paid for their job. Well, to that, I have to say, I'm sorry, I have to say... The rich people above them are getting richer. Hang on. I'm going to really think about that for a second. You've got to process it. Think about it. I think I do. No, you do not. I don't? No. Ashley says I do not. Ashley says I don't feel that way. If this was happening to you, you would be pissed. Yeah, but don't you think that's because I just like to be pissed? No. I think it's because you want to get paid for your work. Don't you think it's because in general, I'm just sort of... No, I think you're fair.
No, no, no, no, no, no. Hey, Southwest is doing something real different. They're going to charge you 25 extra dollars, and that means that you don't have to be a part of the cattle call? Is that how it works, Skye? Yeah, well, it's called this business select plan, and I guess when you go to book a flight, you know how they have all the different fairs you can choose from. One's like the internet-only fair. One's a non-refundable fair. Well, one is going to be the business select fair, which will offer you priority. I mean, now granted, you're paying extra for the business select fare, but you get priority boarding, which means that you will board as the first part of Group A, regardless of when you get your ticket or whatever. You're putting the very front of the line. You get more reward credits. You can do same-day flight changes, refundable fees, reusable tickets, and you get a free drink coupon for one free alcoholic beverage of your choice on the flight. So, according to the story, it's $25 extra for the fee. We went to the website and kind of, you know, all played around, and it looks like it varies. It could be quite a bit more than $25 off the cheapest fare. Mm-hmm.
Um, but it's, it's now available and you can go straight to the front of the line. Now, to me, it seems like that's really awesome that you don't have to go and check in early on the, try to do it on the computer or show up to the airport early to make sure you're in group A and that you don't have to be a part of the cattle call. But Sky, I sense that you were still kind of like raising an eyebrow about it. Yeah, I don't know. Like, I mean. I just, you know, even when we were back in the day talking about Disneyland selling their like front of the line pass. You know, it kind of seems jacked to me that the people who have more money are going to be treated better than, you know, the everyday people who can't afford this. But, I mean, I guess that's life in general. I mean, there's first class. I mean, so this is everywhere. That's kind of like saying, why doesn't everybody get to sit in first class? That's not fair. Right. Just because you have more money, you get to be served on linen. Something I don't have to worry about. Yes, I've got a chopper. Please, please. I'm trying to be serious right now. I'm always in first class. Can we not? I think that this appointment...
to the airlines, but not to people who have a white manservant and fly in their own chopper. Right. Please stop. I do not believe that everybody should have that. No. Basically owning their own airline. Exactly. DK2 Airlines. Well, it's actually the HK2 Airlines. Well, that... The Honky Kong 2. Shut up. Take a helicopter ride in the... Honky. Kong 2. Ha, ha, ha. All right. Ha, ha. I'm good. Ha, ha. This guy's got new movies coming out this weekend. I want to hear what's coming out. I know one of them we're sending Ashley to. I've gotten like probably 15 emails or MySpace messages from listeners being like, I'll go with you, do it. I'll go with you, do it. I'll go with you, do it. Listen to this. I got an email from this guy and he's like, he goes, he says something like, all right, I'll step up. I'll go with her.
And I write him back and I'm like, oh, really? And he writes me back like all offended. And he's like, hey, dude, I have a girlfriend. I've already talked to her about it. It's just that she didn't. And I'm like, wow, dude, you are heroic. You're really a heroic person that you're like, you're willing because you love the Mikey show so much. You'll step up to the bat and you'll. You'll actually go to a movie with a pretty 24-year-old girl that's single? Wow. Really? What a guy. Wow, dude. Give him the key to the city. Yeah. If only we had a few more of you. Mikey, Mikey. You are listening to 053. Mossy Nissan presents Tales of the Titan. What is your name, please? This is Jesse. Jesse. I have an AIS story for you. Please, please, please. Okay, so my little brother and my mom are on insurance together and he's 17, so of course he's already expensive. Well, him and his little tiny Nissan Sentra, it got totaled against hitting an excursion. Right. And so, therefore, her insurance shocks this guy. and she got prorated, and it, like, tripled her insurance and everything. So she was tripping out, and she wanted to just cut him off and not let him drive. Right. So I told her to call AAS because, like, I always hear about them. I'm like, they could probably help you. She called. It's a $2,700 cut. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
They're like, yeah, we understand 17-year-olds. They, like, don't pay attention on the road. Yeah. So she had, like, $2,700 a year cut off her insurance. Jessie, I have to be honest with you. When you were describing the story, I didn't get it at all. Like, I couldn't follow, which doesn't matter. No, no, no. It doesn't matter. All that matters is that when you got to the end of it, you said that your mom saved $2,700. I'm on AIS insurance, and they didn't know who I was. In fact, AIS made me call them without them knowing who I was, and I saved $1,600 a year by switching to AIS. My coverage, by the way, was better. I had gotten in an accident before switching to AIS, and it was a nightmare. After switching to AIS, who they put me in touch with, I got a rental. It was so much better. So if you're listening right now and you have auto insurance and all of you do, I'm telling you, you're crazy if you don't switch to AIS because they'll save you money flat out. Jessie, thank you for calling. No problem. Have a great day. All right, you too. 1-800-777-4247. Easy way to remember it, 1-800-777-4AIS.

If you are one of the over 100,000 Volkswagen owners here in San Diego County, please listen carefully to this important free service announcement as it may benefit both you and your car. For over a decade now, every new VW has come with a HEPA smoke and pollen filter, which cleans the air you and your passengers breathe while you drive. Given the recent fires in San Diego County, we're concerned that this air filter may have absorbed the lingering smell of smoke and potentially harmful ash. So, in concern for your health and your comfort, the seven Volkswagen dealers here in San Diego County have volunteered to replace this smoke and pollen filter in your Volkswagen for free. If you drive a 1998 or newer Volkswagen, stop by any of our seven San Diego County Volkswagen dealers during their normal service department hours. and they will install a new filter in your car at no cost to you. Please visit sdvwdealer.com. Filter supplies are limited, and please respond to this offer before the end of November. Thank you for your attention.

It only happens on the Mikey Show. Now that it's all said and done, I can't believe it.
Where's my pen, Zed? We'll get to new movies in a second. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. It's 802, and I was just asking Sky. Seriously? Uh-oh. Well, I know this girl really, really good. I've known her for many years. And despite our differences... I still consider us to be very good friends. Hmm. She made no facial movement when I said that. Oh, no. No smile, though? No. I mean, it seemed like... No. And you know how usually when you say something, she agrees with you. She goes, yep. Stayed silent. Yeah. I mean, that was not even a twits. Well, you know. I'm a hard one to read today, Mike. That's true. Every day. Whatever. She is not hard to read. Scream, Mike. So I said to her,
Out of nowhere, I go, what are you doing this weekend? And she took the slightest pause that told me she's doing something. And then she got this slightest eensy-weensy smile and said, uh, nothing. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. And that's what I said. Uh-oh. Something bad. And I said, what are you doing? And she goes, nothing. And she wouldn't give it up. And then she did this thing that she does. She will tell you. But she tells you as if it's very normal and she's just throwing it away so that you will throw it away and just be done with it. And I'll present it in a very normal way. And then he won't think it's weird and then we'll move on. So she goes, I'm not doing anything. I said, swear on Bunny Boo, you're not doing anything. She goes, besides cleaning the house and just staying home, I swear on Bunny Boo, you're not doing anything. And I go, okay. And I was like, oh, I guess I was wrong. And about 20 seconds go by. And she goes, and... Bunny Boo wanted to see that new movie American Gangster, and we're not going to, but other than that... Wait. Hold on. I don't get it. Hold on. And I go, what? She will refuse to go see the movie with him because she will not pay full price for a movie. No, we both will not pay full price for a movie, and we both do not like to go to movies when the theater is full. The theater. Theater. So we only go to matinees. I go to the theater. The both of us.
I thought you said he wants to go. You did not say that earlier. That is not what you said. He said he wants to go. Right. He does want to go. But you will talk him out of it. But we can't fit it into our schedule to go to a matinee. Why do you lie, liar? You can go at night. But it's not a matinee. Like I said, the both of us only go to matinees because we don't want to pay full price. I don't believe it's the both of you. Call him and ask him. I think you've convinced him of that. That is not true. Dude, that is your thing. Your thing is not wanting to pay full price. Yes, and his thing is not wanting to be around crowds of people. What does he want to see? American Gangster came out last weekend. You can go to a 3 o'clock show. It's not a full theater. Well, but then you have to pay. So when will you go? I don't know, maybe next week if he wraps up his remodeling project. That poor guy. What? He just wants to see a movie with his wife on the weekend, like a date with his wife. You know, it's infuriating to him to hear this because, like, you guys know nothing about the situation. Him and I are fully on the same page and you are painting it like, oh, this poor guy. Everybody's on your page. No, him and I are on the same page. Yeah, Sky's page. No.
Sky and the Boo's page. No, Sky's page. No. It's my way or the Skyway. No, we share a page. No, you don't. Because we are a team. It's your page, and he's allowed to look at it. It's Skyway or the Highway. How do you... Honey, how do you like our page? Ask him. I own the page, and I rent out space to him. I'm holding a gun to your head. Are we on the same one? Give him a call. I mean, if he came to me and said, oh, I really, really want to go, you know what, maybe we should, you know, go to... pay full price and go, I'd be like, okay. Why don't you say to him, hey, listen, I know we'll be paying full price, but I know you want to see this movie. Let's splurge. Let's go. I expect his reaction. I don't know. There's going to be so many people and kids. Four or five o'clock in the afternoon. What if he says to you, what if he says to you, you say that to him, but what if he says to you, really? Then we're going. You should try it. That's in your personality. That's fine. Hey. I'm making a statement right now. Whenever he wants to go to this movie, I will go with him. Wow. But I'm telling you, he'll only want to go to a matinee. Only because we called you out. No. Yeah. I mean, if he ever came to me and said that he wanted to go, like he really wanted to go, that's fine. You were saying a completely different story now because earlier you were like, basically, you know, I'm not going to pay for full price for a matinee ever. Right. I don't want to. Okay. What's the difference? What is matinee and what is full price? Like $2 more.
Come on, that is not... Is it two bucks? It's about two dollars. Somebody give her the two bucks. Well, that's four dollars for two tickets. It's four dollars for two tickets. I'll collect it. It's like Sean's HOA fees going on over here. There are more circumstances. I'm not moving. There's more to it than just the money. Sit down. Thank you, Sean. Sorry I brought that up. Thank you, Sean. It's the principle of it, right? Oh, look at who you're comparing yourself to. Sky, do you guys... Sean, you're Sky. Do you and Bunny Boo shop movie theaters to see if there's a difference in price at concessions to make sure that you're going to the right theater? No. You do not? That would be crazy. That would be crazy. I just said, no, we don't do that. You know what? Good idea. But if somebody said to me, hey, the theater here has cheaper concessions. Yeah, that theater would jump in right. I would not see you guys getting concessions. Way too expensive. Yeah, you guys are purse bringers. Except for the popcorn. You bring stuff in your purse. Except for the popcorn. Soda? Bottled water.
Can you bring bottled water in your purse? Why is that funny? You're the best. Why is that funny? Listen, it's not that different to me. Because I'll tell you, you'll think that this is a great idea. My brother Mark takes a backpack to the movie. How do they let him do that? A little picnic? You know what, man? They've never questioned it? No. And they don't allow food and stuff like that, but he carries a backpack into the movies. And he's got a McDonald's bag in there. Wow. Holy cow. Wow. Or a packed lunch. Lunchbox. Actually, do you have my brother's phone number? Uh-huh. I'm talking about Mark. Yeah. You have Mark's number? I believe so. Get him on the phone because I think what he might do is hide it and put like a jacket over it on the back. We go in there and it reeks of McDonald's inside the theater. I hate that. He's that guy. Yeah. My brother Mark. That's a good idea though. So you take bottled water. And like a candy bar or whatever. But if we want popcorn, we buy the popcorn. And a ham. I don't like popcorn in movie theaters. It's cold. Yeah, it's different now. It's cold. It's not good. You have to pump your own butter. Pump your own butter? You mean you have to press the button for the butter? Me and Boo had a whole talk about doing your own butter. Are we to the point now where we're just referring to him as Boo? Sure. Everyone gets it. So what were you and Boo saying? Well, he hated the pumping of the butter. I prefer it.
yeah i like doing my own butter because i can mix it the way i want but he oh no no because you can't get it even spread so what he has to do is he has to get one of those like uh there's a whole process yeah the cardboard box you know that they'll if you get a bunch of stuff they'll put in there so he gets a popcorn and then he has to get one of those boxes and then he'll empty out the popcorn into the box so he can layer his butter so it takes him probably 15 minutes to put his butter on. I wish that I had a big, giant bowl that I could put the popcorn in, put the butter, and then flop it up in the air to mix it all. I'm like, who eats the full bag of popcorn anyway? I can only get halfway through, and I'm bored of it. I got my brother on the phone. Mark, are you there? I am. We're talking about how you take the food into the movie theater? Yes. Now, my brother Mark sees movies at least once a week, right? At least. Wow. I mean, and I'm not kidding. He does go to the movie once a week, sometimes more. Yes, usually more. Unlike a lot. What's on average? How much do you go to the movie? Two, at least twice, sometimes more. We don't miss too many. What's the last thing you saw? Let's see. The last one we saw was the... The one with Denzel Washington? American Gangster?
No, we did see that. You're right. American Gangster, we did see that. Did you like it? Very good. And you know what, Mike? I wasn't going to go. You love those mob movies. They don't work for me. I don't really care for them. But this one's different. You're more of a Ratatouille type of a guy. Yeah, more of a B-movie. It's so true. You might even get the Academy Award. More of a happy feet. Mark, did you see B-movie? Did I see what? B-movie. B-movie? Yeah, the Jerry Seinfeld animated film. No, I haven't seen that one yet. Oh, shocking. What are you waiting for? Yeah, have you heard of it? I am going to see it yet. Yes, there you go. In fact, the Ratatouille just got released on DVD. Here we go. Here we go. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this guy. That's my oldest brother. Ratatouille is good, and when they release it in the used DVDs, previously rentals, I'll pick it up. Yeah, I do that too. Blockbuster. Oh, you don't buy new ones? No, no, no, no. What is it, Mark? You get like three for 20 bucks? Eddie, you didn't know that Mark is like, he is just, he's right there with Scott. Really? Oh, yeah. Three for 20 bucks. It's a deal. Oh, yuck. It's a deal. Hastings. And this is when he, now, this is, now, when he wants to go to the movie, what he does is, he goes to his computer, he uses his dial-up connection.
and then he'll see what time the movie is playing. And that's because he will not do the DSL. It's too expensive. No, no, no. You won't believe this, Mike, but I finally broke down. They're running a special right now, $20 a month, and I did sign up. You have DSL? That's awesome. It's a cable modem wireless. I am so proud of you. No, no, no. Don't go there. I'm upset. Oh, no. Why? 1995, but they were lying. There's taxes. You've got to rent a modem. Yep. But Mark. Modem rentals. Yep, they get you. But Mark. Oh, my God. At the end of the six months, we may be back to the phone line. No, Mark, don't say that. Come on. Because that's when the rate goes up. You can't ever go back. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Mark, your birthday is coming up on the 21st. I know this because your birthday is tattooed on my arm. Yes. For your birthday, I'm going to get you something, but for your birthday, I'd like to pay the other six months just to keep you in DSL. I mean, it's ridiculous already. You know what, though, Mike? It's not what they said. They said $40 after the six months, but it's not. They lied to you. Now, let's talk about when you go to the movie, you take in your own stuff, right? In fact, I do. Okay, and you do it in a backpack, right? That is correct. I've never been busted. I've never been confronted.
So they don't ask you why you're taking the backpacking? No, no. I might be going camping. They don't know. The theater? Nice. Now, be really honest. When you're going in there each time, are you nervous? Never. I've done it so many times now, and I've never been confronted. Now, the first few times were you nervous? Well, maybe the first time. But after that, you said, hey, listen, I got this figured out. Yes, we do have it figured out. Wow. Now, are you prepared if you ever do get stopped? What will you say? You know what? I forgot I was carrying this thing. It's like a watch. I didn't even realize. Wait a minute, sir. You're telling me that you forgot you were carrying a bag of McDonald's that's piping hot and steaming out of your backpack? No, no, no. We don't take McDonald's into the theater. I thought you did. No, not McDonald's. No. Oh, sorry, Rubio's. No, no. I have taken a Subway sandwich. But normally, normally, it's a soda, which is kind of a problem because unless you catch your right in the previews and you pop that soda top, people know that's bad. So wait for an action movie preview. Oh, my gosh. And when it looks like there's going to be an explosion, we open the soda. He's not kidding. Yep. Mark.
Mark, what food do you take into the theater? Okay, the latest thing is that we go to breakfast at Piazza Gavi in the morning. I love them. Fresh muffins. You get fresh muffins. We've been taking a fresh muffin. Muffins and a soda. So you have muffins and a soda. With the diet soda. There you go. He's the best. You're the best. And it isn't just a soda and food. Like, we have an airline blanket in the backpack. Oh, my God. Sometimes in Tucson, they run the A.C. pretty strong because it gets so hot. Yeah. So you got to have a blanket. I support that. I always bring a sweater. That's great. Are you going to see what's the next movie on your list? Larry wants to go to that one that just got released today. Lions for Land or something like that. Yep. That's right. Here's a clip. Here's a clip. Cut 31. This is my honest effort to keep the press better informed and to change the subject from
the past to the future, acknowledge mistakes, and talk openly about ways of fixing them. How much time do we have together? I have till 11. The whole hour? Wow. You all must be panicked. Oh, no, no, no. We're determined. What do you think of that Tom Cruise, Mark? I want to see it. I personally like the guy. I think he's a good actor. There you go. That's my brother, Mark. He takes food into theaters. Mmm, I love it. All right, Mark, I'll talk to you later. See you. It's my brother, Mark. You know what? I really want to talk to you guys about this thing. I have it written down, so I'll save it. When we come back, I want to ask people, people that have the garbage people come, okay? Maybe it's got the garbage people come. When we come back, I want to talk to you. I can't believe I haven't mentioned this, that I confronted my garbage man. Oh, no.
I confronted my guard. And I mean, I came roaring around the corner in the car. Oh, what are you doing? And I saw him and I was waving and flagging and I got out of the car and we talked. It's garbage. I'll tell you next. This is the Mikey Show. Get downloads and podcasts at rock1053.com. It's radio. This is where Eddie doles out advice, and he does it in a real way. He doesn't placate people. He tells them the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. Our first letter reads, Dear Eddie, So ever since Sky started talking about Dr. Feinstein and Red Dye and Red Dye No. 5, my wife is convinced it has something to do with he's eating. So now I have to buy all this organic and free-range stuff. Awesome. Eddie, seriously, what can I do? Dear Apocalypse Chow, I don't get what the deal is with all this organic and free-range food. In fact...
I want a Rosie O'Donnell cow with Donald Trump's hair, Flavor Flav's clock, and David Copperfield's libido all wrapped in milk. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. That's Sean Kingston. Hey, Mikey, most movie theaters don't even have rules against people bringing food to the theater anymore. I just carry the food in without hiding it. P1's the nod. And... Hey, Mikey, if you go to Mission Valley or Fashion Valley on the weekend, the cost to watch a movie is only $6. Saw American Gangster last weekend, Saturday at 11 a.m. for $6. We brought in Starbucks breakfast sandwiches and our teas in plain sight. Whoa. P1 Lookout Scooby and P1 Stuck in the Trunk. Also, Sky could do a drive-in. Bring your own food. No crowds.
Yeah, when we first moved here, we looked for drive-ins, but the only ones that we were able to find are in the South Bay, and we live in North County. Take the copper. The chopper. Copper? Copper. Chopper. Well said. My brother made a cool little Star Wars short film, and by short, I mean it's like a minute long. But he asked me if I would tell people to go to rockstarhotdogs.com, his website, so they can see it, because he's real proud of it. And there's a link where you can go to the little YouTube place and see it. So his website's rockstarhotdogs.com, and you click on the Rockstar HD Studios tab, and then the link will take you straight to YouTube. And you can see this little short film that he made. This guy... has invested so much money into special effects stuff, boom mics, cranes. Oh, my God. Is he a full-time director? Yeah, pretty much. That's awesome. He's got the Steadicams. He's got the whole thing. We're going to be doing Winner Plug All in just a second. It's going to be two guys coming into the studio, and they'll go against each other. One guy will sing with an acoustic guitar, then the other guy will sing with an acoustic guitar, and then we'll take text message votes.
You've got to figure, all their friends are going to vote for them, but then there's going to be a ton of you P1s voting for them, too. Who has more friends? Who has more P1s? We'll find out. I confronted my garbage man last week. Why? What's going on? Well, we have a new garbage man. Yeah? And this garbage man selectively speaks English, I found. Oh. And so we were getting these notices on top of the... cans that said that they were too heavy. And so I told Rebecca, I'm like, hey, we really got to watch this. I don't want to get these things. We really got to keep the cans not so heavy. It's garbage. What are you throwing away, bodies? Yeah, what are you putting in there? I don't know. Garbage. Really? Let me tell you. Let me explain. So it says they can't be over 50 pounds.
Well, when your kid pees in diapers and you got a bunch of diapers, they are heavy. There's no doubt about it. But 50 pounds? Because we've thrown bricks and granite in our garbage cans before and have never got a note. So check this out. So it says no 50 pounds are over. And you're saying granite you were throwing in there? Dude, bricks. Like cement. Crazy stuff. So he puts the red tab on there and I tell Rebecca, right? I'm like, we really got to watch this. We really got to watch this. Nice. Try and be considerate. So I, we have four cans and we make a lot of garbage. So I usually, you know, we usually have four cans going out there every week for those big, you know, roll out to the street. So there were the ones on the wheels where actually the automated arms pick it up and dump it. Like the guy's not getting out of the truck. No, he does get out of the truck and he picks them up and he throws them in there. We wheel them out. You know, you buy them yourself at Home Depot. When we moved into our community, we didn't get trash cans. The city doesn't? No, the city didn't provide them. They did provide recyclable deals. Yeah, yeah. But they didn't provide, you had to go, so everybody on our street has different looking trash cans out there. Really? Yeah, we all got different looking ones. Oh, okay. What do you mean?
Well, if he's actually picking them up himself, that's why. Because most places are now where it's like the automated, where the machine picks it up. They still tell you to keep it to a weight limit, but obviously the machine doesn't, you know. Let me tell you, I so wish that was what the deal was. Yeah. So I'm going to great lengths to make sure that our garbage gets picked up. So the next week, I made sure that I had them all really good. And we get more red things on there. Oh, come on. And I'm like, what is going on? That's not 50 pounds. And so this last week, I'm coming home and there's the garbage guy. And so I want to watch because I know this time. At the most, I said, I'm going to the extremes. I can basically tell how much something weighs.
And I can tell you that there is no doubt in my mind it did not weigh over 25 pounds. There's just no way on God's green earth it weighed over 25 pounds. So I'm sitting there, I'm watching, right? And this guy, he probably weighs 145 pounds and he's like 5'8". So he's a small guy. Okay, he's a small guy. Skinny. Mexican. Gets out. Goes up to the can. He gives it a little tug. Little tug like this. Goes into his truck. Shut up. Shut up. No way. No way. And I go, and immediately I just go, that's not fair, man. That's not cool. And so I get out and I go over and I go, yeah, Eddie. When you get the red tab, does that mean they don't? He leaves it. So they don't empty the truck. No. Wow. Yeah. Brutal. Dude. Oh. So I get out and I go over to the guy and I say, hey, how come you're not going to take that? And he gives me the look that says, me no speak English. So the reason that I said that he spoke selective English was when he did that, I go, okay. And I very like animatedly.
walk over to the side of his truck where there's a big phone number written there if you have any questions. Right. And I take my cell phone out and I start to type the number and he goes, I take, I take, I take, I take. Swear to you. I take, I take. And he goes, it has to be 50 pound. And I go, dude, I call him dude, dude. I go, this is not 50 pounds. And he goes, eh? Did you go over there and pick it up? Yes. Come on, guy. Like, come on, guy. You son of a bitch. And I just, like, I wish that I had, I really wish I had a scale. Oh, heck yeah. Like a way to weigh it, you know? Because I don't really know how to weigh it. But, dude. Well, but you would think that he would have a scale if that's the rule. Nope. What they do, he goes, ah. What, just based on him jerking it real quick? And let me tell you how I know. Because when you go to the airport, like when Rebecca and I go on a vacation where she's going to pack a lot, we have to be careful because that bag can get up to 50 pounds and they charge you more at the airport. Right. And trust me, when I lift that sucker up onto the weight scale at the airport and it's 50 pounds, it's heavy, man. Yeah. I mean, that's like half a Nicole Richie. It's heavy. Yeah.
And so when you lift it up on there and you stick it on that scale, it's a lot. Dude, this was not that. And so he knows I got that number now. We'll see if he takes it. And my dad said the same thing happened to him when he lived in your neighborhood, Sky. Really? Yeah, he said that the guy that used to come through there, that he was refusing to take stuff. And my dad eventually called and complained. And then the guy started picking it up. But I'm like, these garbage guys, man. That's not cool. And the last guy was really cool. Like, it didn't matter what it was. That guy always took it. I shouldn't say garbage guys. That garbage guy. This garbage guy that I had the last time. I don't want to call and complain. If you got your own house, that's what it's about, man. That sucks. Do we have an open for... Yeah, we do. We got a new open for these guys coming in here. The game is called Winter Plug All. Okay, this is going to be absolutely dreadful. The Mikey Show now presents two god-awful singers battling it out in a contest we call Stand By For Creativity Winner Plug All. That's Simon Cowell, and listen, Simon, they're not bad singers. That's so mean.
He's very critical. Well, he's real mean. They're not bad. They're good. Literally horrendous. They wouldn't even be here if they were bad. So, all right, let's get these guys in here. Well, let's get one of them in here. The first guy up will be Kyle. So let's go ahead and bring Kyle in here. Now, I'm going to let people know that after both of them have performed, we're going to open up the voting. And you'll be able to text message us. Cool. Hopefully everybody's in the P1 Text Army. You guys, is everybody on the show? We're all in the P1 Text Army. I didn't know that we were supposed to be. You don't have to be. Well, yeah, because, I mean, we're here experiencing everything you're texting about. You know what? I just think it's fun to get texts. I do. That's why I signed up for it. I like getting texts. I want to be part of the club. And I'm in cricket, so they're all free, man. Right. Why not? So if you want to join the P1 Text Army, you text the word Mikey, M-I-K-E-Y. Two, three, five. Two, five, three. Three, five. Two, five, three. Three, five. Two, five, three. There it is. Two, five, three. Yeah, that's right. Two, five, three. Okay. And we got Kyle in here. Kyle, how are you, man? Good. Yourself? I'm doing good. I'm doing good. And how old are you? I'm 27 years old. 27. Now, tell me a little bit about yourself. Are you from San Diego? Yeah. Born and raised, actually, in East County. And you've been playing music for how long?
Playing guitar since I was 12, I should be a lot better than I am. But I've been singing for as long as I can remember. So, are you in a band currently? Yeah, we're doing a working project titled Forged by the Fire. Now, I'm not going to let you give any information, I just want to know the name of the band. And the reason is because it is Win or Plug All. So you win. If you win, then you get to plug whatever you want, and if not, you don't. But Kyle, what are you going to be singing for us today with your guitar? The song's called Vulnerability. Okay. I need you to pull that microphone up just a little bit more. Okay. There you go. Like, right about there is going to be good. Now, everybody, take a listen to Kyle. When Kyle's done, we're going to have Garrett come in and perform, and then we're going to allow you to vote via text message. Kyle, do you have anything special you want to tell us about this song? Oh, man, it's cheesy. I'm telling you, bro, when you tell the story, it really helps your cause. Yeah, it really does. This song started out where I was talking to my wife and really just going over some things. And I realized that my wife has the ability to make or break everything about me. Just opening up to her, she owns everything that I am. Wow. And so that's where the song started. Dude, that's awesome. Okay, pull that guitar in there and give it a shot. Okay.
And everything that I've wanted to say Is passed away with the new day And I can't get it back And it's due to the lack of an urgency When it falls on me To do what I believe Honestly, what do you expect from me When I tell you who I am Can you even understand How much this runs through my head Your reaction to what I said Strikes right down and don't believe This love has opened my vulnerability I just need to say what needs to be said No, no But when the time comes My lungs close and my heart
beats over everything I can't speak oh no do you even know that when you speak you hold everything that I care for in the palm of your hand I ask you now honestly what do you expect from me when I tell you who I am can you and understand how much this runs through my head. Your reaction to what I said strikes right down to the very core of me. All this love has opened my vulnerability. Wow. Awesome, dude. That was great. Holy cow. Kind of a...
kind of a Stain kind of Creed kind of vibe to it. I was thinking Stain the entire time. Yeah, yeah, definitely. Kyle, it was really great. Kyle, give me the name of the song again. The song is Vulnerability. Vulnerability. And hey man, really good job and I'll tell you what, this is going to be a good contest. And so you say that you've been playing music now since you were 13 years old and Gosh, dude, you got a great songwriting style. It's really great, man. Thank you very much. Appreciate it. That was Kyle, and the song was called Vulnerability, and he wrote it for his wife. All right, Kyle, thank you very much. We're going to have you go in the other room. We're going to bring Garrett in here now. Garrett's got a tough road, man. Oh, yeah. He's got a tough road. That was real good. That was way good. That guy's voice is great. Kyle's got a really good voice. Now, at the end of this, we're not opening it up yet for votes. We've got to wait until both guys have gone out. Wait until the end of the show. Right. We have to be fair about it. So here comes Garrett. Did Garrett bring an entourage? He brought his guitarist. I got it. So he's going to sing and he's got another guy playing guitar. All right. The guy should sit on his lap. Wait. That would be weird. I think that would be weird. All right. So here comes Garrett and his guitarist. And which one's Garrett? You're Garrett, right?
And Garrett, you're in a band, right? This is your guitarist in your band? Yes. Okay. And how old are you, Garrett? I'm 22. And what's the name of the song you're going to sing? It's called Drawing Dead. And tell me a little bit about the song. Sure. Wrote it, kind of a troubling point in my life. A little bit down on my luck. Turned out being a transient for a little bit and just kind of tells of the travels and how basically just going around cities and just living life. Now, this is going to be a little uncomfortable, but I need you guys to be as close as you can because of the microphone. The microphone has got to be able to pick you both up, so make sure that you're as close as you can, and you might even want to lean into that mic when you do this. But you already heard Kyle, and now you're about to hear Garrett. Garrett's 22. The song is called Drawing Dead, and he just told you a little bit about what the song is about. Anytime you're ready, guys. Here it is, man. The song that he performed is called Drawing Dead. And this is the way that you vote. If you would like to vote for the first guy that you heard, his name was Kyle. He sang his song that he wrote for his wife called Vulnerability. If you want to vote for the first guy you heard, Kyle, text the letter A to 35253. If you want to vote for the guy that you just heard, Garrett, he's 22.
He sang a song about his own personal experiences kind of through life. The song is called Drawing Dead. And if you want to vote for Garrett, you text the letter B to 35253. That's that easy. So get on it right now. We're going to take a quick time out. When we come back, we'll have the results of your voting. I just want to thank Mikey this morning for staying on the air. You know, it's my one day off during the weekend. You guys totally rock. Dude, I appreciate that, man. The Mikey Show continues on Rock. G-58. Know what's better than waiting in this line? Uh, breakfast at McDonald's. Man, you're good. Premium roast coffee would be so awesome right now. Rich, bold, abacus beans. Arabica. That's what I said. Remember when we were free to just go get an Egg McMuffin sandwich? You mean before we got in line. Exactly.
Can't you just taste that fresh cracked egg? Oh, yeah, and the smoky Canadian bacon. Melted cheese. Those were good times. By the time we get through this line, breakfast will be over. Well, three words, my friend. Angus third pounders. Those are thick, juicy burgers. The big, beefy taste of Angus. I could so go for an Angus mushroom in Swiss right now. Oh, give me the sizzling bacon of that Angus bacon and cheese. It's an Angus deluxe day. Thick, juicy tomatoes, red onions. Oh, my mouth is so watering right now. Let's ditch this line and go to Mickey D's. I have to register my car, dude. Can't you go pick it up? In a car that's not registered? We drove here not registered. Okay, that's a good point. Give me the keys. Participation and duration may vary. Breakfast served during breakfast hours only. G59. McDonald's would like to help keep family and friends connected during these difficult times. So for a limited time, they're offering free Wi-Fi at all of their wayport-enabled San Diego County McDonald's. Okay. The judge yesterday told Britney Spears' lawyer that she needs to respond to the drug test whenever she's called, even if it's at 8 a.m. Minnesota Vikings dock wide receiver Troy Williamson's a weak salary for attending his grandmother's funeral. All right, folks, it's winner plug all. We had two guys come in here and battle it out singing with an acoustic guitar. And we heard from Kyle and we heard from Garrett.
And I have the results. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. One of them received 7.1% of the vote. The other received 92.9% of the vote. So it was a landslide. So it was a landslide for Kyle, our first guy. Let's bring Kyle back in here. Winner plugs all. Nice work. He's just finding out right now. Tears are flowing. Tears are flowing. There are too many tears? Oh, look at that. They're putting the tiara. They're throwing roses out onto the ice. They're putting the tiara on his head. Why is there ice? Are you serious? He's skating in. 9.9. Unbelievable. Kyle, you did great, man. You received 92.9% of the vote. Almost perfect. I know we've only done this twice, but that's a pretty big margin. Congratulations. Thank you. And it's a great song. You've got a great voice. Go ahead and plug anything you'd like. I'd like to start by just saying thanks to my wife for doing this whole thing. He's the best. I've got... It's going to be a nice weekend. Yeah, right? I've got a MySpace page for the project right now. It's myspace.com slash forgedbythefireproject. Okay. There you go. And if people want to check it out...
Go there and check it out. Eddie was saying off the air, he goes, dude, that song could be on the radio. Right? Yeah. It was good, dude. It was that good. So, Kyle, congratulations. You got any gigs you're going to be on? Right now, I've been in the scene where you do the gigging thing, and it's really, really hard to break out here in San Diego. Yeah. So what I've really tried to do is put together a good group of people, make a project, make an album, and then shop it and see if it works. So if you know anybody, Forged by a Fire project. Good luck, man. Good luck. Yeah, dude. You're obviously a very talented guy. Mikey, I want to say thanks, too, for doing what you do on Friday afternoons. No, thank you. I know that from where a lot of people and I know, too. No, that's cool. I appreciate what you do. Thank you, man. I appreciate that. It is time for us to do... It's time for Pigs. It's time for Eddie's Pigs. Come on, Eddie. All against the Charger girls. Pigs. Or maybe... Can I just say what happened? On the Mikey Show. What? What happened? What happened, Ash? The Charger girls were leaving my studio and I kind of point to the door so they get up and go to the door and the blonde one, she starts yanking and she looks at me and she goes, it's locked. She's just yanking. Well, it's a very heavy door is the deal. It is a very heavy door. Ashley's turning you in. That was just cute. She's letting us know what happened.
Hey, listen, it's a heavy door. What do you want? It's locked. She's not the first. She's not the first. That's right. By any means. That's right. I love it. One of our Charger Girls is a return. And that is Kirsta, right? Yes. Kirsta is back. And we have a new Charger Girl. Marissa is in here. Marissa, how are you? Good. How are you? I'm great. Welcome to the studio. Now, last week, Eddie, what happened? I got killed. Whoa! I admit it. He's deflated, gals. I got killed. He's deflated, gals. They went 12-2. Awesome. Awesome. I went 9-5. Oh, no. Oh. I don't know what to say. Like, all the games that we picked differently, they won. Nice. I've lost. I'm not very smart. I'm not very good looking. Eddie, you're going to bounce back this week. You're going to bounce back. I have no will to live. How are you feeling about this week's picks, Eddie? Bad. No, no. Don't do it. Don't do it. Come on. Don't do it. Come on. All right. You can do it. I'll try my best, guys. All right. Now, ladies, this is your opportunity, obviously, to pounce. You can see that the guy is, you know. He's a wounded gazelle. He's a wounded gazelle. Kirsta, like, she comes in with great notes. It's always very well informed. Wait a minute. Kirsta.
Where's the binder? Do you have the notes and everything? I do have notes. Where's your binder? I don't have it today. Your binder was great. I need to look. All right. Are you guys... I ain't having it. Come on, man. Let's do it. You got this. You got this, dude. Yeah, give them a pooh out of these girls anyways. All right. They share on the side, so maybe they're involved with the game a lot. There you go. But that doesn't matter. You're the oracle. You can do this. It's not inspiring you, Eddie? It's terrible. Ladies, give him a cheer or something. There you go. Do a little cheer for him. All right. That's not demeaning. All right. Charge your girls. Vikings at the Packers. Packers. Eddie. I don't know. Eddie, come on. Eddie, don't. Come on, man. Vikings at the Packers. Fine. I'll take Green Bay. Awesome pick. Awesome. That sounds good. Well, they agree. Sounds good. It's the best pick ever. Yeah, but it sounded better the second time around. Eddie. The Broncos at the Chiefs. Well, I don't know. Well, think about it. Larry Johnson's not going to play in the game. Jay Cutler's banged up. It doesn't make any sense. I don't know who's going to win. Come on, Eddie. You have to pick one, though. Can I say it'll be a tie? No. You cannot pick a tie. Fine. I'll take, I don't know, the Chiefs. Okay. We say the Chiefs. Charger girls, you take the Chiefs as well. Good pick, Eddie. All right, Charger girls. The Bills at the Dolphins. Bills, of course. Eddie.
Of course. Are you sure? I know. The Dolphins are terrible and they haven't won a game yet, but they're going to win eventually. They're not going to lose all 16. Who do you take, Eddie? I'll take Buffalo. Oh, they agree. Eddie, come on. The Eagles at the Redskins. Get into it. I know you're feeling it. I don't know who to pick in that game. It's too hard. I'm being serious. The Eagles, they should be good, and they have had good games, but Washington sometimes plays good. Both two very inconsistent teams. Let me flip a coin. I'll take Washington. I don't know. Hey, Oracle. What's up? Charger girls. We say Washington. You both take the Redskins. Eddie, I'm going to inspire you. Please. Oh, yeah. Come on, Eddie. Get back into it. Charger girls. Who do you see when the Jaguars visit Tennessee? Titans. Really? Vince Young's back. Why? Tell me why. Vince Young's back, and they're at home. So you want the Titans. He was back last week. He's back again. Eddie. And at home. Eddie, who do you want, Jaguars or Titans? Tough team, Mike. Eddie. Come on, Eddie. I'm being serious. They're a very difficult team, and they've won. Tennessee is. Oh. You don't catch your head in the game over there. Come on.
Eddie. I'm going to take 10. The Browns at the Steelers. This is a no-brainer. All right. Here we go. This is one. You can lock it up, buddy. I'm putting my money on the Steelers. Charger girls. All right, Charger girls. Falcons at the Panthers. Carolina. Come on, Eddie. Why do you look confused, Eddie? Because I don't know. confident Eddie back for one second. This is a difficult game to pick. They both suck. Ashley, give me that theme called the final bell. Find the music called the final bell. That's where Eddie's at right now. I'm going to turn him around. Eddie, who do you want? Falcons or Carolina? I'll take Carolina. You guys have agreed on every single one so far.
Because he doesn't want to lose again. I don't. I'm saying what you guys say. Charger girls, who do you want? My pick's already in. The Rams or the Saints? Saints. You're taking the Saints. Eddie, the Rams or the Saints? Mike, I've been hearing good reports about Steven Jackson. He's running like a beast again. I'll take the Saints. You guys have agreed completely so far. Eddie, I'm telling you, I can get you out of this. Eddie's been feeling down and out. Last week he got beat by the Charger girls, but something's going to happen inside of him right now. I need it too, Mike. You can put me down for Baltimore, Mike. There you go, Eddie. That is what I'm saying. Charger girls. Raven. Copying Eddie. Interesting. Smart choice. Whose boyfriend made that pick? That's what I'm talking about, Eddie. Charger girls, the Bears at the Raiders.
Bears. Eddie, Bears at the Raiders. Eddie, Lions at the Cardinals. Love this one. I'm taking Detroit. You guys have agreed on every game. This is coming down to the wire. I can guarantee you there's one we're going to disagree on. Charger girls, who do you want? The Cowboys or the Giants? They're looking at their notes. They're studying. I think Eddie's got them on the ropes. I think Eddie's got them. Giants. Eddie? Ladies and gentlemen, the streak's coming to an end. I'm taking the Cowboys. I want to drink some eggs. Boy, that would have been really great if I didn't have two more games left. No, that wasn't the end of the bit. I know how great it would have been if we would have crescendoed on the end of it, but we didn't at all. Charger girls, this is going to be interesting.
Who do you guys want in the Colts at the Chargers? Chargers, of course. Oh, that sounds really confident. Wow. The Chargers. You're the Charger girls. Hang on a second, Marissa. Unbelievable. Just gave a look like, I hate to do it. Oh. Hang on. You don't know how much you did. They were like, Chargers. Oh, man. Underdogs. No one's believing in them, but we believe in them. I'm telling you, I thought, and I think that maybe, it's quite possible that this team is mad. They're very mad. They're not getting any respect right now. Everybody says the Colts are going to come in here and wipe the mat with them. You know, this could be it. Eddie, who are you taking? No doubt it's going to be the Colts. Oh, no.
Thank you. And finally, girls, who do you like in the 49ers at the Seahawks? Seattle. Eddie? I'll take Seattle as well. There is only two games that you disagree on. We'll see about that. Eddie takes the Cowboys over the Giants, and the Charger girls take the Chargers over the Giants. Over the Colts. So cute. We'll have to see what happens. Now, girls, you've got some stuff going on. The Charger girls that are in here are Marissa and Kirsta. Am I saying it right? Yes. And what do you guys have going on this weekend? We are around town selling calendars on Monday night for the game. And if you're in the North County, we're going to be at 55-yard line in San Marcos on 1020 West San Marcos Boulevard. On Restaurant Row. And if you're going to be down in PB, I'm going to be at the tap room with another girl. It's between Faneuil and Everett on Garnett. All right. And now...
Kirsta, are you at these events as well? Will people get to meet both of you or just one of you? No, I will not be. Okay, well, there's a lot of them. Other girls will be. There's a lot of them. Yeah, everyone's around. Are you guys usually doing stuff like every weekend they have you out in some way meeting people and doing stuff? That's cool. Yeah. All right, well, there it is this weekend and we'll see how this turns out. We'll give you the results on Monday. Okay, I'll tell you what. The Mikey Show will be right back. Go ahead and see if we can. Been waiting to play with your dirt toys in the desert? You don't have to wait any longer. It's the annual Back to the Desert Everything's on Sale Sale. My son Joey and I were out at the dunes in Glamis when we spotted this family bottomed out on a sand dune in their Chevy Silverado. My Nissan Titan had higher clearance than the Chevy, so I just hooked up some towing cables and I pulled him right off of that dune. I was proud of my Titan's V8, and Joey was proud of his old man.
Mossy Nissan's got the full-size truck you can count on. The American-made Nissan Titan. With its standard 317 horsepower V8 and the ability to tow up to 9,500 pounds, Titan's the perfect weekday workhorse and the ultimate weekend toy. And right now, Mossy Nissan has a huge selection of Titans in stock, all with low Mossy value prices. And as we drove that Titan off into the sunset, my wife called and asked me to pick up a few groceries. And I said... Okay, honey, don't wait. Two. that iPod commercial song yet or are you still out? Which one? Oh, Betty doesn't like it. So good. I find her voice haunting. Here's what I don't like about it though. It's not necessarily the song. It's that they play it 8,000 times on NFL Sunday. They do. So if you're watching any kind of football on Sunday, it's on every single commercial break. Not a problem. And Bjork called and she wants her style back. Oh, well then what about this?
Oh, wow. There it is, Skye. Face. Face on your face, Sean. Uh-uh, here's a towel for your face. Oh, and I'll give it back to you if you need it more. I think, Skye, I think Sean won that one, Skye, because, you know, all you had to come back with was opposite, and he did, like, throw it right back at you when you gave him the towel. So I think... Good night now. Technically, he won that one. Oh. Unless you got one last one in. Rock him! Not a good start. That face war. Yep. Nice job, Sean. Whatever. Thank you very much. Let's play a little Dumb Chick Challenge. The way that the game works is you get to call up and you get to pick a horse. It's like you're at the... Serious? The sound you just heard on the air was Skye slurping coffee from a styrofoam cup right into the microphone. Oh, come on. Yeah, my coffee from 6am. Oh, that is so gross.
Is that a biodegradable cup? No, but I do recycle it. Sky fills up that styrofoam white coffee cup at 6 a.m. and drinks it for four hours. Ugh, gross. Sky, doesn't it... There's nothing wrong with cold coffee, dude. Here's how we play the Dumb Chick Challenge. It's just like you're going to the horse races and you pick the one you think is going to win. You call in and you either pick Sky or Ashley. And then one, P1, gets to play for themselves. Now today, it's going to be... A girl that was on the show earlier. Oh, yes. Today, it's going to be P1 Jessie. Now, Jessie, you are 20 years old, correct? Correct. That's right. Now, Jessie called in earlier. When we said that Sean was from the Bay Area, we were talking about Sean. We said he's from the Bay Area. You know, Sean's our sound effects guy. Say hello, Sean. Hello. And Sean was telling the story this morning about how he went to a candy shop over the weekend. And he caught a shoplifter.
And so we were asking Sean about it and he was telling us all about it. And we did mention that Sean lived in the Bay Area. Well, Jessie called in and she wanted to know what candy shop it was. She wanted to go get some. Directions. She wanted directions to the candy shop. And we said, Jessie, did you know that it's in the Bay Area? And she wanted to know how you get there. And she wanted to know what part of San Diego the Bay Area was. Oh, wait. And we had to let her know that Californians widely consider the Bay Area to be the San Francisco Bay Area. So what we thought was she might be a good contestant for the Dumb Chick Challenge. And she also said, well, if Sean lives in the Bay Area, how does he get to the show every day? That's right. She wanted to know if Sean lives in San Francisco, how does he get here every day? I want. She is the best. And so we had to explain to her, oh, you know, we connect via satellite. But we instantly fell in love with Jessie. Oh, she's my favorite. It was a legitimate question. I am pulling for her today. That is right. Hey, but I thought you were my... I still got your back. And Eddie, what might somebody win today? We got our last pair of tickets to the grand opening of the John Lovitz Comedy Club. There you go. Downtown San Diego.
All right, and let's see. Let's get our other contestants on the line. Hang on, Jessie, okay? Okay. Okay, hang on. She's so sweet. The best. She's really sweet. P1 Chris, are you there? I'm there, Mike. And who would you like, Ashley or Skye? The lovable Ashley. That is the first time Ashley has gone first in quite a while. Thanks. Hang on. And P1 Kia? Yep, hi. Kia, you get Skye. Great. Hang on the line. Cool. All right, Jessie, are you there? Yeah. All right, Jessie, just a couple of questions about you. You are 20 years old. Where are you from? San Diego. And do you read the news? Ah, Bay Area. Nobody heard that. Let's just continue. I heard it. No, no, no. Let's just continue. I heard it, Mike. It was just a joke. What? It was a good one. Well, Jessie started first last time. Well, that's impossible. No, no, no. Who did? She's starting first this time. Okay, Jessie, you begin. Are you ready? Yeah. This is the way the Dumb Chick Challenge is played.
The first person to five points wins. We have one, two, and three-point questions. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. Again, first person to five wins. Would you like a one, two, or three-point question, Jessie? Two-point question. You got it. You got it. So cute. All right, Jessie, your two-point question is, what is the name of the legislation that allows the U.S. to intercept emails and phone calls in the United States in an attempt to keep the nation free of terrorism? Uh-oh. Uh-oh. I'll tell you. What's legislation? Let's go for the, I don't know, legislation branch. The legislation branch? The legislation branch is incorrect. Oh, it is? It is incorrect. She wins anyway. I'm sorry. Actually, Jessie, that is known as the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act. So if you ever hear that term, Jessie, the Patriot Act, now you know what it is. Skye, how about you? Would you like a two-pointer? Yes, please. She always goes for those two-pointers. Even though she knows that whenever...
Somebody has a two-pointer before her, and she knows it. The next two-pointer, she always gets wrong. Always. That is true. Because it's going to be some, like, question about old-ass people who are dead. And, like, who knows stuff about dead people? Skye, I believe it is impossible for you to miss this question. When I say that, you usually get it right. When I say that, you usually get it right. Okay. It makes me nervous when you say that, though. Sky, what is the nickname for the election day in March when most states hold their primaries? What's the nickname for that? Sky. You're the news girl. Sky, the nickname for the election day in March when most states hold their primaries. What's that nickname? What do they call that? It's called... It's called... Like, I know I know this, but the only thing that's coming to my mind is the shopping day after things. Black Sunday or whatever. Black Monday. That's it. It's sky correct. It is known as Black Monday. They call it Dog Day Afternoon. I'm going to be so mad at myself because I do know I know this. Is it my half birthday? It's not March Madness. Armageddon. March Madness. It is not March Madness. It is not March Madness.
Oh, no. Forget it. Ain't like a lion out with a lamb. Come on, Skye. Come on, Skye. You don't know that one. Oh, come on. Skye, it's Super Tuesday. Oh, son of a... Oh, you are the worst. Yeah, I did. See, I know you knew that one. Yeah, I did. No, I did. It wasn't coming to your head. I know. Brutal. Ashley, one, two, or three point question. Eddie's giving her the signs. She's taking the signs. She's not sweating. And... Maybe that will help my game today. That's right, Ash. Give me a one, please. She wants a one-point question. Get on the board. Ashley in Washington, D.C., what geometrical building has five sides? What? Oh, no. Can you say it again? Not a good start. Not a good start. Not what I expected to hear. Say that again. I'm going to say it one more time. Oh, no. I wasn't listening. Wait. It's okay. I'm going to ask you again. It's okay. I didn't mean to. It's all right. If you don't want to listen to the show, you don't have to. I didn't mean to. I did a temporarily check out, but I'm back in. Let's go. Here we go. Get in the game. Ashley, in Washington, D.C., what geometrical building has five sides? That's easy. What is it?
The Pentagon. You are correct. Very nice. Very nice. You can't put it on the phone. Stop loving it. Come on Eddie. Shake and bake. Doesn't make sense. Come on. You son of a... P1 Jesse? Yes. Would you like a one, two, or three point question? Come on Jesse. You can do it. I can go with a one. Okay. Love it. Alright, here we go. Jesse, what state is the Liberty Bell located in? The Liberty Bell? You got this, girl. The Liberty Bell. This is easy. The Ma Bell? You have a movie about this, too. The doorbell? Come on, Jessie. The Liberty Bell. What state is the Liberty Bell located in? I'm going to say Philadelphia. Oh, wait. That's not a state. Hold on. I love her. I love her. I love her. The state of Philadelphia. I love her.
Jessie, give me a state. Pennsylvania. That is good. Jessie's on the board. Jessie, you got it. You got it. Good one. All right, Sky. All right, Sky, a one, two, or three-point question. I'm going to try a two-pointer again, please. You got it. My name's not O. Sky, your two-point question is. Yeah. Located on opposite coasts, what is the name of both Maine and Oregon's most popular cities? What? Located on opposite coasts. Boston Rob is irritated. She's leaning back. She's squinting. She's got that look. She's got the smile. I think I know. Portland? That is correct. We got a good game going here, guys.
Ashley? Ashley's looking at Eddie. She's smiling and squinting. She's putting her hands to her face. She looks nervous. Her eyes are huge. What do you want? A one, two, or three-pointer, Ash? Okay. Give me three, guys. A three-point question. That's crazy. She wants a three-point question. All right, Ashley, you ready? Yes. What president... authorized the use of atomic weapons against the Japanese in World War II. Can we pass? No, listen. My grandfather was in World War II when he was like 19. He was the president. Nowadays, he would be like 83 or 84. So that's like 62 years ago. I like this. I would say like 1940s-ish. So who would be the president? Who was the president around 1950s-ish? What was that? Are you okay? Jessie? Yeah. What was that? My baby. Oh, it's her baby, for goodness sake. Okay. I thought she went to killacat.org. Hang on a second. All right, Ash, come on, you can do it. What president authorized the use of atomic weapons against the Japanese in World War II?
Nixon is incorrect. Ashley, it was Harry Truman. All right, Jesse. You want a one, two, or three-point question? Let's go for a two-point question. A two-pointer. Come on, Jesse. Good call. All right, Jesse. One foot is equal to how many inches? One foot is equal to how many inches? Twelve inches. Now, wait a minute. Was she getting help from someone or was she talking? At least she's talking to the baby. You are correct. The baby was like, 12 inches, mom. Quick timeout. We'll come back. We'll continue the dumb chick challenge. What is the score? Wait a minute. Hang on. We're not done yet. Jesse has three points. Sky has two points. Ashley has one point. There you go. You're in the lead, Jesse. Don't go anywhere, okay? Okay. Hang on.
Come back and wrap up the Dumb Chick Challenge. Don't go away. I love you, Michael. I love you, too. What are you even talking about? The Mikey Show. Rock 105.3. This Britney story is crazy. We're gonna get back to the Dumb Chick Challenge right now, but TMZ is just putting up right now that, uh, Britney Spears was caught running a red light last night with a kid in the back seat. Oh, come on. Now, you've got to understand, this is apparently a notoriously dangerous intersection in Los Angeles. Coldwater Canyon. And apparently, here's what it says. It says that she... Oh, by the way, the strange thing about it, you see her kid asleep in the back seat in a car seat.
And in the front seat is the court appointed, you know, whatever she is. Yeah, the person to monitor the visits because Brittany isn't supposed to be alone with the kids. You know, the court appointed monitor. And the court appointed monitors in the front seat crouching down so that she's not photographed with Brittany. Because the paparazzi are taking pictures of her running the red light. And they have a picture of the inside of the car. And you see Brittany holding her phone up, like, texting or making a call after she just ran the red light. And they say that people outside the car are screaming, red light, red light. Yeah, because the paparazzi is there. And they see her, like, because, you know, it's not like she blew through it fast. Like, she went through it slow. So then she turns on to Mulholland Drive. It says, managing to miss oncoming traffic. Holy cow. Yeah, a whole thing caught on video. And I'm sure KFED's probably sending that over to the judge right now. The judge has made it clear that he has issues with Britney's driving. L.A. County Commish Scott Gordon temporarily revoked her visitation rights because she was driving without a valid California driver's license. Oh, goodness. Wow. We're going to do a dump tick challenge here in a second. But, Skye, there was other news about her, right?
What, her getting that new car? Or her lawyer in court yesterday? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. The lawyer in court yesterday. Yeah, because KFED's lawyer called for an emergency hearing and was granted that. So the lawyers were in court yesterday because they say that Brittany had supposedly failed to respond in a timely manner to eight of her 14 random drug tests. And her lawyer went into court. and argue to the judge that the judge doesn't understand because the judge isn't a pop star with a number one album to promote, and so he doesn't understand that pop stars don't get out of bed at 8 a.m., even if it is for a drug test. So that was one issue. And, like, the courtroom exploded in laughter when she was telling the judge that he doesn't understand because he's not a pop star. Yeah, I don't know if this lawyer's, like, Britney's cousin or what. Wow. Give me a break with that argument. Like... And you got to think, if you're the lawyer, if I'm in the law firm that this lawyer works for, and the lawyer says to me that that's what she's going to say, I would just say to her, okay, if that's the argument you're going to give, I just want to ask you, is it your belief that the judge will say, you know what? I didn't consider that she's a pop star. She doesn't have to take the test at 8 a.m. anymore.
Is that what, I mean, do you think that that's what's going to happen? It takes brass balls. Do you think that that judge is going to say, yeah, I didn't think about that whole number one record thing. Didn't consider that. So that was one issue. And then the other issue is that the drug lab would call her and the phone would be disconnected. What? Yeah. And so the lawyer was arguing, hey, again, being a pop star, when her phone number falls into the wrong hand, she has to change her phone number. So she's always changing her phone number. And the judge was like, oh, well, that's nice for her. I don't give a rip. If you change your phone number, give it to the drug lab ASAP. Like there's no more excuses with this. 8 a.m. is too early. Oh, I changed my phone number. No, no more excuses. You're telling me a big fat lie. Well, it's crazy. Yeah. It's unbelievable to think that that's what's going on. Let's get Jessie back on the line. Hi, Jessie. Hi. How are you? Good still. She's still good. Still good. We're continuing the Dumb Chick Challenge, and Jessie's in the lead. She's got three points. Sky has two points. Ashley has one. And we're to Sky. Sky, would you like a one, two, or three-point question? Let's try and wrap this up with a three-pointer. You got it. Oh, wow. You got it, Sky.
Skye, your three-point question is... Make it an easy one, Mike. You got it. Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon. Who was the second? Oh, shut your mouth. Uh-oh. Oh, no. Does that mean she knows? Yes. I believe that means that's so easy. Why are you even asking? Yeah, how dare you? Oh, man. Stretch Armstrong. Louis Armstrong? Michael Jackson did the moonwalk. I don't think anyone's talking to you, Rob. Wow. At least I know the answer. Lance Armstrong? Lance Bass? And he's got one ball. No, he couldn't have done it. Maybe that's how he lost it. Oh, yeah. He got moon ball and it fell off. Still on the moon. Bad case of the moon ball. The old moon ball. He got moon ball. I'll have to remove it. Moon ball, very painful from what I understand. I'm glad I don't have it. I will answer Buzz Aldrin.
That is correct, Skye. Why'd you come up with that? That was the only other astronaut I could think of. Oh, my God. Out of the blue, she pulls up Buzz Aldrin? That was fantastic. Dude, I thought that's the guy who went up in space like 10 years later. Buzz Lightyear. And that's what I was thinking, too, from Toy Story. Nice. Nice. Well done. Skye, you just won the Dumb Chick Challenge. Thank you. Jessie, we're going to give you a parting gift, okay? We'll give you something. We'll figure it out. You were very nice. And you hung on the line for a long time. So hang on, okay, Jessie? Okay. I want to give you something. Call us all the time, Jessie. That's right. But P1 Kia, you are a winner. Awesome. Yay! Sky played very well for you. All right, hang on the line, okay? There you go. I can't believe she pulled out Buzz Aldrin. Dude, I can't believe... Like, I thought I was going to say Buzz Aldrin and you guys were going to start laughing. That was really good. That's crazy. Man, I am smart.
Look at me. That's right, Sky. Very well done. In L.A. and Chicago, at the malls, there's kind of a scare about the malls being a holiday terror target. Yeah, the FBI announced yesterday that they received a tip that Al-Qaeda is planning to attack shopping malls in L.A. and Chicago this holiday season, but they say they don't know if the tip is credible, so let's not all freak out or anything. Cut 43. This is exactly what they're trying to do. They're trying to disrupt our economy. They're trying to create terror and fear in our communities. And we've called this press conference, one, to make it absolutely clear there's nothing to fear. Huh. What's two? Yeah, what about two? Yeah, what is two? Great enemy. And two, continue to shop at Hot Topic. Ooh, support that. I like them both. Pick up a pretzel. You guys hear about the surfer?
that was attacked by a shark, but there was dolphins trying to help him. Oh, come on. Yeah, you know, what's the truth about this story is we actually reported on this story back in August. Because this happened in August. And it happened in Monterey up in Northern California. And when we reported on it, we heard nothing of dolphins. We talked about how the guy, you know, the shark was about 12 to 15 feet long. He was out there surfing. His surfboard actually saved him. Because, you know, of course the shark got to him, but also got a big chunk of the surfboard too. But, yeah, but now I guess it was dolphins that really saved him. save the day. Who knew? Cut 47. He hit me from the front. I was sitting on my board and he couldn't fit me in his mouth. And so I got hit probably 10 or 15 feet. And then the second time he came down and clamped on my torso and my board, sandwiched my board and my torso in his mouth and then kept him from getting to my intestines, essentially. And then...
The second time he bit me, he swallowed my right leg, which kind of gave me leverage to kick him with my left leg, which might have helped me. The shark ate his leg. Yeah, because remember when we talked about it, we talked once he finally got in, his friend used the rope to the ankle thing from your surfboard to basically tie off his leg, and that's what saved him, or else it would have led to death, because his leg was pretty much missing one of his legs. That's horrifying. That is awful. Nothing worse than eating alive. I want to hear about the dolphins. Killer whale. No killer whales, Eddie. Just sharks. You don't know that. I know everything. Bone off and ate his leg out. Swallowed it. Yeah, he said blood was pumping out of the leg, which had been bitten to the bone. He lost half his blood and was ashen white. To stop the blood loss, his friend used the surf leash as a tourniquet, which saved his life.
Imagine how large that animal had to be to bite off a full-grown man's leg. They say 12 to 15 feet is the estimated. It must have been so powerful. You can't even imagine how powerful that must have been. If we have Zed try to bite off Rob's leg right now, it would be really hard. We could do it, but it would be hard. And Zeph is really tall, and Rob's really small. That's right. Really small. Rob is tiny. And so, Zeph could probably bite his leg off, but it would take until halfway into Missy's show. Yeah. But I'm just telling you, it'd be tough. So, here's the surfer lying about dolphins helping him. Hey, who said he's lying? Who said he's lying? We've heard of this before. Cut. 49. Actually, the dolphins have been there the whole time, but... They sprung to action after I got attacked and formed some sort of barrier between me and the shark. I was able to swim away and then my friend Joe Jansen actually told me to grab my surfboard while I was swimming towards the beach and put it underneath me and at that same time a wave came and we both caught it. It was a godsend.
You buy it? Ashley, you believe that, huh? Absolutely. The dolphins whipped out their pistols, man, and they really took down that predator. That's right. It's pretty sweet. One had a chain, one had a baseball bat. No one's saying that. One had, like, brass knuckles. One had a trident. Shut up. Mace. They were like, let's help him. Something similar happened about a year ago in New Zealand. A group of lifeguards say they were saved from sharks by dolphins forming a protective ring around them. That sounds totally believable, especially eight months after it happened. Hearing about it way after the fact really drives the point home of how true it is. Hey, stop. The dude was hurt. It is so true. He's so childish. Dolphins are the best. Dolphins are smart. Very smart. They're super smart when they don't exist. So now you're claiming that dolphins don't exist. Great. I'm claiming these dolphins. Okay, and we're going to buy your argument. Whoa. Now why would he just tell us this story now? Because he's been in the hospital getting surgeries and trying to get better for three months. Was his mouth bitten off and he couldn't tell us? For three months. Well, he couldn't go on the Today Show for the last three months. I see. His leg got bitten off. Bitten.
I like it. Stalkins are the best. For sure. You're the worst. You are. You are. I want to hear Carrie Underwood. I think she's real pretty. She's a country singer that won American Idol. She just put out another album. The lyrics to her songs are real stupid, but she's real cute. I know someone that went to school with her and said that in high school she was crazy jealous. Crazy jealous. Like, you'll get real upset with the boyfriend and always thought the boyfriend was cheating. Cut 11. It wasn't as compelling as I thought it would be. Now, when we come back, this is a little bit better. When we come back, there's somebody that has been
arrested for a DUI. And they were on a Vespa. And it's a guy. And it's a celebrity. And it's a cool, kind of tough guy celebrity. And he was on a Vespa. I'll tell you who it is after this. It's K-I-O-Z San Diego. Hit it. It's K-I-O-Z San Diego. Hit it. It's K-I-O-Z San Diego. Hit it. You got some balls. It's K-I-O-Z San Diego. There it is. K-I-O-Z San Diego. Did you guys hear what Zetsa said? What? What, Eddie? What? Well, he was mentioning, you know, those new rejoiners that Ashley's making with the little clips of the show. You mean like what you missed last hour? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Well, Zeth's like, man, I can't believe Ashley puts herself in every one of those. Wow, Zeth. That is a really ballsy thing to say. That guy's got ball. I'll tell you what. It's true. What a set of rocks. It's true. But wow, how bold it takes brass balls. Yeah, I was hearing it, too. He goes, hey, guys. What's up, Charlie Brown?
Can you guys believe that Ashley made that promo of Tough Love with Eddie and it had to include about her saying, tough love it is, tough love. Even though it didn't add to that. Brutal. Come on, Zef. And wasted a good four seconds of the promo just so that we could hear her say, tough love it is, tough love. No, she knows what she's doing. Like guys. Don't you think that that's a little self-indulgent? She's learning. Guys, isn't that just a little bit self-indulgent? Don't say stuff like that. I mean, don't you feel that she just really wants to get that Ashley part in the promo? Yes, we do, but you don't need to say that, Zeph. been because you didn't initially say tough love with Eddie at any part of the beginning so how else would a listener know that it's tough love with Eddie and the only tough love that was mentioned was when I said that but Ashley how would you understand that it's tough love with Eddie because you say tough love it is tough love that's the best that I could do to put out that it's tough love with Eddie there was no other way you never said it's tough love with Eddie from now on I won't Mike so that's fine oh no
Or Seth can make them if he wants to. Mike, I'm not trying to start anything here, but I think she's trying to say it's your fault. Seth, don't try to rile things up between me and Ashley. Leave her alone. Good grief. But she is blaming you, Mike. I mean, I'm pretty sure that I clear every highlight with you and you say that they're good, so I don't really understand. Again, it's your fault. I didn't hear that. I didn't even begin to say that I'm blaming myself in all of them because that's crap yeah what are you talking about i didn't hear that until it played on the air i told you tough love sure no but i didn't hear that you tell me every highlight to do and you have never said anything ever that they're bad i haven't said anything this time zed did yeah why are you yelling at mike fight yeah i'm the one that said that you had to put the part of you in there i can't
part of me in there. I mean, jeez. Yeah, we get it. Get him, Ashley. We get it. You're on there. What were you saying, Skye? What? What were you saying? What did I say? Skye's staying out of it, Eddie. I'm staying out of it. Can't you see that Skye... No, she didn't. She did. She stayed quiet. She didn't say a word. No, no. She didn't say a word. She didn't say a word. Where is it? Where is it? Let's hear it. Where's the promo? Bring it up. Let's listen to it. Sure. Let's hear. Let's hear how it sounds. I'm telling you. Tough love it is. Tough love. We'll see if Zeth is right. What Ashley is saying is, is that she kind of saved the day in reality. Yeah, that's what I'm saying, right? I think what she's saying is, I think what she's saying is, listen, sometimes Mike drops the ball. And that's okay. No, that's not what I'm saying. That's not what I'm saying. I'll pick the ball up for him. Oh, no. I'll save him. That's not what I'm saying, actually. I'll pick up the slack. I got you back, Mike. All she's saying is, unless we had heard her in that thing, there is no way you'd know it was tough love with Eddie. No. That's all she's saying. That's what it sounds like. Now, here's something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show.
is where Eddie doles out advice, and he does it in a real way. He doesn't placate people. He tells them the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. So the bit is called Tough Love It Is, Tough Love. Oh, it is? Well, and also, I thought that was kind of like an inside thing that we do sometimes. Like, it's kind of like a nude kind of joke we do on the show. It was the only Tough Love clip in the beginning, so I thought it would definitely give anybody who was confused an idea that it's Tough Love with Eddie. Let's listen again. Maybe I missed it. Now, here's something you may have missed this morning on the mic. This is where Eddie doles out advice and he does it in a real way. He doesn't placate people. He tells them the truth. And sometimes the truth hurts. Our first letter reads, Dear Eddie. I just wanted to throw something out. Oh, no. This is a bad idea. I don't know. You know, this is a bad idea. Am I going to cut his head off? You're not going to. Oh, no. It's just that, you know. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Budweiser, I'm telling you. I'd like everyone to know I'm going under the table. Dude, I'm giving you fair warning. I understand. You're jumping into a shark tank with a meat backpack on. Budweiser, you're a man. She's a woman. Say what you want to say. I mean, I know you're a misogynist. I'm a woman. How do I do my job? Teach me, Budweiser. I'm pretty sure you didn't get... All fair points. You know, absolutely, I agree with you. But you guys do keep the older tough loves in the system as well. And you could have taken anything from Mikey saying, this is tough love with Eddie. For sure, because I'm not doing anything else during this show. So I totally have time to go into an old tough love and like chop and cut, chop and cut, chop and cut. Totally have time to do that. Nobody knows better than me the stresses you have, Ashley. I'm just saying.
rest of my job. Seth, what is your problem? I'm just saying. Seth, you've ruined everybody's life. You're so mean. Here's the thing about that, Ashley. Wait, wait, wait. Rob has something to ask. Well, I don't understand why everyone's jumping on Ashley's back. Who cares? You know what? It sounds good that she's in there, and I appreciate you being in every single promo. And you know what? Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. I love it. No, I'm being... saying. I have no complaints about it. I'm on your side right now. Deep breath. Deep breath. I'm on your side. I'm just saying. Let's fess up to this. Let's fess up. You know what? We did it. Who cares? It sounds good. Tough love. It is tough love. I'm backing you. Why are you backing you up? How did it go wrong? Man, Seth, that was really messed up. Maybe we should change topics. What did Seth say?
Oh, no. Just leave it on the phone. I want to really think this. It'll take away stuff, CD. No, I'm just because if you guys really think this, then I want to make sure that I'm doing... I'm a dog with worms. Look. It's so cool. Changing the subject. Did you guys see this? No. Ridiculous. I'm sorry, Ashley. There seems to be something coming between Ashley and Scott. What the other thing? Starts it off. Because you'll be... We'll finish it. I want the honest... Who really started it? Go! Go! How is it that Ashley became the scariest figure on the show? I don't know. I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to be honest with you. She outscaries you, Eddie, when you're mad. Even when you're mad. Yeah. Like when you're pissed, I would say scale of one to ten, I'll put you at like seven. Ashley, scale of one to ten, ten. Yeah, eleven. Eleven. I mean. Dude, by far. She throws down, dude. I don't mess with her. Yeah.
Now, Zeth, on the other hand, that guy doesn't care. He goes for it. He doesn't care what he says about her. Tell sweat pits in there that she doesn't have to put herself on it. Her pits aren't sweaty anymore. No, they definitely are not. Zeth, that's messed up. Over the line, bro. Mickey Rourke got the DUI on the Vespa scooter. What? We're moving on. Yeah, it looks like she's checked out. Ashley is checked out. Forget it. There's no getting her back. I don't know. Tell her the Vespa story. Stop it. It might be, right? We've got to try. We're not going to try. I like when Rob gets angry for her when in reality he's making fun of her. What are you talking about? He gets mad to defend her. I am defending her. Hey, guys, leave her alone. I like that she's in every promo. I do. I appreciate it. She sounds good. I agree. Oh, no.
I'm fighting for her right over here. The body. That's just childish. That's stupid and childish to be in every promo. There's nothing wrong with that. If I could be in every promo. Don't do it. If I had a chain to pull back my pit bull, I'd pull her back right now. But I'm telling you, she's about to attack. I did nothing wrong. You're in more promos than I am. I want out. You weren't even here to hear them. You are in both promos, bro. That's awesome. All right, guys. So anyway, and then Jesus saved me. Yes. I think for, you know. I don't know that there is hope anymore. Jesus is uncomfortable. Not even JC can say this one. I know. JC's uncomfortable. What do you guys want to talk about now? Vespas. The Vespa. Mickey Rourke. Times like these. Sean says, I'm glad I get to sign off pretty soon. Glad I'm not living in San Diego. What about me? I've been defending her the whole time. See, you guys laughing makes this worse. You're the worst. Hey, Ashley, I'm sorry he's like that. Guy's supposed to be your friend, you know. I got your back.
Ash. I've had her back the whole time. Ash. This is turning on me real quick. Can you hear me? Sky, what did you say during the break? This is turning on me. Ash, can you hear me? Ash, can you? Hey, Sean, play the Ash, can you hear me drop. Eddie, what are you doing? Ash, can you hear me? Hey, Sean, can you play the Ash, can you hear me drop? Sean. Like now. Hey, Sean. See what I said? Hey, Sean. Maybe, I don't think she can dress. No, there it is. Well, that wasn't it. Ash, can you hear me? No, it's that one that says, Ash, can you hear me? Yes, I can hear you. No, no. No, wait. No, we're not asking. We want the one that says, we don't want the answer to it. We want the one that says, you know. Oh, my God. So he says, Ash, can you hear me? Ash, can you hear me? There it is. See, that would have made, that would have made great radio. Speaking of Ashley. Oh.
Is Ashley Simpson engaged? That's the word on the street. The phone lines are blowing up, by the way. Don't answer. I would not. Somebody said to me the other day, the best part of the show sometimes is after 10 o'clock. You know, when we're supposed to be off. Yeah. I don't want to get off the air today. It's so cold in here. Is it possible to give my testimony from the car? Blunder, can you loan me your shirt again? So, Ashley Simpson. Has been seen showing off a diamond engagement ring. And at this one party she was at with her boyfriend, maybe fiance, Pete Wentz. Everyone was coming up to her and looking at her hand. I'm trying to move on. Please, let's move on. No, no, Sean, stop it. She can't. It's clear she can't. He loves to do this. Sean, Sean, we wanted to run.
This girl has been beat up enough. Please. He does this because he's not here. He doesn't have to experience this. He's in his little safety bubble up in the bay. Eddie has taken a chair and put it in the corner of the room where only Ashley can't see him. I'm out. And he's sitting in a chair. His face. Oh, man. So. Yeah, you were saying? Yeah, so previously when these rumors have come up and people have called Ashley Simpson's publicist, they'd say this is absolutely not true. And when her publicist was called about these rumors, the publicist says we do not comment on her personal life, which is a change. Let's do it. Ash, can you hear me? Let's do a story with a different name. Okay, that's probably a good idea. Let's do a story. No, see, Winona Ryder. Oh, oh, Shawnee O. Check this out.
Winona Ryder, do we think we'll be safe doing this story? Yeah, we should. This shouldn't cause any problems. Yeah, Winona Ryder is going to be in the new Star Trek movie. And who will she play? She is going to play Spock's mom. Now, Sean can tell you that Spock's mom is a human and Spock's dad is a Vulcan. She's not old enough. But it's baby Spock. It's not baby Spock. It's teenage Spock. It's not teenage Spock. It's early 20s Spock. No! Ash, can you hear me? You made him mad and now he's doing that. So you don't like that cast? Ash, can you hear me? Sean, not smart. Hey, furball! Ash, I'm America's sweetheart. You're so stupid, Sean. Stop it. You're so stupid, Sean. Ash, can you hear me? No!
Why is Sean poking the tiger? Make him stop. Because he's insane. Tough love it is. Tough love. Thank you. You're a bastard. You know, if you played that clip after, it would have made a lot more sense if you drew it. Not well right now. This is out of control. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. This is so out of control. This is the craziest show we've done in weeks. This is out of control, man. Put your bag down. Oh, my God. Eddie, put your bag down. You're not leaving. You're not leaving. Sean, if you don't stop, I swear to God, I'm going to come through the mic and kill you. Oh, that's right. Well, listen. Strangle your furry heart. I think, okay. Oh, my God. I think I've, you know, pretty much gone through every story I have. Yep, bro. Yeah, listen. I have an idea. Why don't we take some phone calls, wrap the show up. Okay.
We've gone through all the stories. Eddie's still staring. No, no, it's not. It isn't. Look at Eddie. Look at Eddie. Not to me. Hey, Ashley, I'm not laughing. Look. Oh, my gosh. Look at me. Oh, my gosh. I'm not laughing. We are a dysfunctional mess. He's standing there. Oh, my gosh. I will be more than happy to. What did you say? No, Sky, no, no, no. Mikey, we're leaving. Why can't she? She's honest and I appreciate her. She didn't say anything. Okay. Yeah, Eddie was making it up. She'll be truthful. Man. Mikey Show, hello. I swear to God you guys have had the best. I swear to God it should go on. You guys are the greatest season ever. Thank you very much. I wish you were here.
I gotta get the opinion of the P1s that are in here right now. We haven't even talked. These poor guys. They're so scared right now. They're right in the middle of it all. P1 Squishy and P1 Vito are hanging out in the studio because Squishy won the opportunity on P1 Trivia. Vito wanted to come in here. He's an intern in promotions. He asked if he could come in. Bad move. Is it a little bit uncomfortable or are you enjoying it? I love it. Are you crazy? I love Ashley, though, and, you know, everybody. See? Ashley, there you go. I love her, too. I love her, too. We all love her. The only one that doesn't is Seth and Rob. Yes, Seth. And Sean. And Blunder. And supposedly. And allegedly Sky. Yeah. Oh, shut up. We'll find out after the show. You guys try and instigate it. Vito, are you doing okay? Yeah, I'm actually enjoying it more being here and seeing all this. It's funny, you know? Vito. That is not the way we feel. Please. I just want us all to be friends. God, Zeth. Poor Zeth. It's horrible. You know what's going to happen? Zeth never said anything. Oh, man. Let me explain. Oh, I know. Let me explain. After the show.
She's going to be like, in all seriousness, Seth, did you really, did you say something? Did you really say something? And then he'll cry. And then she'll cry. Poor Seth. The guy doesn't even have a microphone to defend himself. He can't even say anything. I almost cried. Poor guy. Right? What else do you want to pin on him? Did he assassinate Kennedy? What else did he do? Grassy Knoll. What do you want? You want six hands to come out of my eyes? 9-11. That's right. No. Putting GHB and Aquadots. That was actually a good move. Wait a minute. Oh, my gosh. You guys having a killer time? No. No, we're not. No, we're not. Opposite. Wow, that was something else, huh? Mikey show, hello. Hey, P1 Jason, I know Ashley hates attention and everything, but she's got an event this weekend. She does? Does she really have an event this weekend? Yeah. What is it?
Let's let her plug it. When it plugs all. Ash, where will you be this weekend? Yeah, I will be at the Miller Lite College football. We're going to be doing Miller Lite College football at the Whiskey Girl in downtown. Where's the Whiskey Girl? It's in downtown at the Gaslame District at 600 Fifth Avenue, 1 to 2.45 p.m. I will be giving away Aztec tickets. Is it really called the Whiskey Girl? Whiskey Girl. It's actually a really cool place. And when did you say? Did you say tomorrow? Tomorrow, 1 to 2.45 p.m. I will be there. I would love to see a P1 that support me. I'll be there. And those that want to watch football. I'll be there. P1 Orlando is on the line. Hey, you guys. What's going on? I'm older than dirt, and you guys are really... I've had a horrible week, and you guys are just cracking me up. Well, thank you very much. Laugh out loud. Sometimes, you know. Just getting a little laughter out there, really. That's the first time I've laughed in days. Yeah, this is actually the first time I've laughed, like, I don't know, in the past couple days. Really, Skye? That's a clip. It's been rough, huh? From after the fires. Yeah, I think the fires have been raging for four and a half minutes at the point that she said that.
not. I mean, raging out of control. No, no, no. Maybe 10 minutes. No, for two days. They've been raging, raging out of control. They were raging for two days when I said that. 15 minutes. Okay, 15 minutes, yeah, because we were broadcasting Sunday morning. Dumb. Oh, man, this is a feisty rum. The fire's turning. But the fire started on Sunday, and you said that Monday. Pablo Español. I said that Tuesday morning. The confident news girl. Yes, Birdman. I had a couple questions. One, am I going to be able to defend my turkey toss title? Oh, yeah, the turkey toss. I forgot. We haven't done the turkey toss in a while. On Monday, I'm going to tell people about a really cool way I'm going to do my turkey this year that I'm going to suggest to people. Thank God. Well, yeah, because Rob, he almost gave himself salmonella last year. That was disgusting. His turkey came out purple. And then I put it on Braille. And I thought I was done in 15 minutes. I came out still clucking. Hey, I'm not done yet. Gotta hit that drumstick. Yeah. Mikey, I put it in the microwave. Mikey Show. 45 minutes, what? Hello? Hey, P1 Ben. What's up? I just wanted to ask you guys on the show if you watch Smarter Than a Fifth Grader and if so, Kelly Pickler's gonna be on there. Is that right? I thought it'd be hilarious. I have never seen that show even one time.
Really? No. No, I've never seen it. It's hilarious. Is it funny? It's pretty good. I mean, it's kind of like Dump Chick a little bit, where the stuff you should know. There you go. This week, I think, is like Celebrity Week, and Tony Hawk was on last night, and I think Pickler's on tonight. So they're going to ask Pickler questions? Yeah. Oh, come on. I think you guys should try to get her on the Dump Chick challenge. I would love it. That would be hilarious. That's kind of a cool spin. One of these days, we should have a female that calls in. participate in the dumb chick challenge. Like a celebrity. Yeah. Next celebrity interview we have. Like maybe it could be Andrea Kramer. No. Like next time Andrea Kramer calls in, we say... No, no, no. What are you doing? I'm asking. It's time to go. Wait, Andrea Kramer? She's on like wouldjadoomeornot.com, right? I don't know what she's on. What is she on? Rob, what are we doing? I mean, you guys are pissed off Ashley. Now you're trying to get at me. I support you. Is that what you think? Well, that is true. The confident news girl. I just didn't know where she was from. I go to the theater and then to the buffet. What, Sean? What is that about? Sean. I love the ladies. Isn't it 10.30 already, Sean? Don't you have somewhere to go? Because he is black. Sean, I like ham. Don't you have to go watch the thief, the cook, and his partner or something? Honey baked. Oh, my God.
Beto. Yeah, maybe you have some vintage candy you need to drive a half hour to buy. Cabla Espanol. I don't know. I think it's still 2-0 Sky. That was pretty good. Wow. Trying to be friends here. You should have heard what Zeth said about you earlier. Stop making Zeth your scapegoat. Amen. Seth is a good guy. Yes, Eddie. You are right. How do I transition into this? It's impossible. How am I supposed to do this? I know. Good luck. Yeah. No idea. And I'm asking myself, like, is it appropriate at this point? No. You know what I mean? And I know that a lot of people, like, you know, they really need to hear it. Eddie, help me with this. How do I do this? Well, you know. Maybe some people right across the room from you need to hear it. You see what he's doing. I wasn't going to do that. You see what he's doing. I wouldn't have done that. Same. Right now, she's a little down. We're all friends. Maybe there are some people who don't have friends and are feeling very lonely and can't laugh like we can all laugh. I like it. That's true. That was much better than what I did. It's true. As much as we act like ridiculous idiots, we do all love each other, except for Sky loving me, which she made clear earlier when I said that we're friends.
And she didn't respond that clearly we're not. But you know what? I was doing what? I was in the middle of something. That's not what Zeth said. Leave Zeth alone. Well, you're not busy right now, Skye. Well, it's true that Skye and I, even though sometimes we have our issues, we're really actually very close friends. Skye didn't say anything. You're doing a great job. I'm not going to jump in. I'm not a space filler. Sometimes there's the dramatic pause. Oh, my God. Come on outside. There used to be a time in my life that Sky remembers very well where I used to be addicted to alcohol. Every Friday I do this thing where I call, it's giving my testimony. I tell you what it used to be like for me. And I used to be addicted to alcohol and I used to use drugs. I'd shut all my friends out. I used to sit in my apartment by myself, turn the ringers off on the phone. I would close the blinds.
I would say things that I didn't remember, do things that I would forget. And my dad had me over to his house one Sunday morning and he said, until you stop drinking, I can't have a relationship with you. I left his house and I went to a liquor store and I bought a lot of alcohol and I drank the rest of the day. So people say, oh man, when your dad, and everybody knows how much I love my dad. You've heard me talk about my dad on the air, very close to my pops. And so the fact that I was able to choose alcohol over the relationship with my dad tells you how bad I was. But I couldn't stop. And I asked Jesus Christ to enter my life, and he did. And I'll tell you, from that day forward, it has been like a, many times it's been like a supernatural experience. And all I can tell you is that my life is better now after inviting him into my life than it was before then. may be addicted to something, to drugs or to alcohol. And there may be people listening right now that have just lost someone, that have broken up with somebody, a husband, a wife, a boyfriend or a girlfriend. There may be people listening right now that have no money. There may be people that are listening right now that are living out of their car or they're doing things that compromise their morals.
There may be people right now that are listening that know that even though they're hearing this and they're relating to it, they're still going to buy a sack of dope later today. In fact, you might even be going to buy it right now. There may be people that are listening to me right now that are new to San Diego and they're so lonely and they miss home. God forbid you lost a child or you lost a loved one, that you've had a relative pass away. Or that you have a relative that's very sick and you're afraid of them passing away. Well, we play this song at the end of the show on Fridays. And I let people know that when I had that relationship, when I started that relationship with Jesus Christ, it changed my life. And I tell you that because it could happen for you too. And then we play this song that's about hope. Because a lot of people, that's something that they just don't have right now is hope. So we play this song by a band called Third Day.
The song is called Tunnel. Really listen to the lyrics to the song. The lovely and talented Budweiser is up next. And we'll all be back as a big happy family again on Monday. Sky and I are super good friends. Yeah, friends till the end, Mike. That's right. Mikey shows out late. Don't pretend to know what you're thinking. Know what you're going through.
