Mikey staged a blunt but affectionate intervention over Boston Rob's refusal to answer email, while the crew separately roasted Bryant Gumbel for flat, error-prone NFL play-by-play. Sky defended her dress and her time with Roman Oban at a charity gala, and Mikey turned her recent behavior into the parody song Drama Queen. Josh D'Amigo beat Regina Leonard in the acoustic Winner Plug All contest, while Sky and Ashley supplied the comedy by missing basic questions in the Dumb Chick Challenge. The show also aired Bobby Knight's confrontation with a neighbor, recoiled from stories of anesthesia awareness, and debated Christy's argument that La Jolla's seals mattered more than enforcing the old Children's Pool trust. The closing testimony followed Amanda from teenage meth use and a near-fatal assault in front of her daughter to sober living, structured recovery, and faith.
What happened, in order
Boston Rob's Email Intervention
Mikey confronted Boston Rob for ignoring work email and using an unfinished recap email as his live notepad, while Rob argued that Mikey should text him instead.
Bryant Gumbel's Flat Calls
Mikey and Eddie mocked Bryant Gumbel's lifeless NFL Network play-by-play, especially his muted reaction to a Tony Romo touchdown while Deion Sanders talked over the action.
Sky's Night With Roman
Sky recounted attending Roman Oban's charity gala with Michelle, and the crew teased her about her revealing dress, tracking Roman down, and lingering with him in the mansion's master-bath patio.
Drama Queen Parody
Mikey performed the ABBA-style parody Drama Queen, turning Sky's illness, on-air mistakes, and complaints into a chorus the listeners could not get out of their heads.
Winner Plug All Showdown
Josh D'Amigo sang the autobiographical acoustic song Pocket Change, Regina Leonard answered with the bluesy Hammer and Nail, and Josh later won 84.1 percent of the listener vote.
Dumb Chick Challenge
Sky and Ashley stumbled through easy trivia about Libra, Barack Obama, Ali Baba, anatomy, Richard Nixon, and Earl Grey before caller Tracy won the game.
Bobby Knight's Neighbor
The show aired a tense recording of Bobby Knight's neighbor demanding that Knight move his shooting farther away after birdshot pellets landed near the man's house and pool.
Awake During Surgery
A clip from Awake led Mikey, Sky, Rebecca, and callers into a horrified discussion of anesthesia awareness, in which paralyzed patients can hear and feel surgery without signaling anyone.
Seals Versus Children's Pool
Caller Christy argued that La Jolla's harbor seals were a treasured public attraction, while Sky explained that a 1931 trust legally reserved Children's Pool as a swimming beach for children.
Amanda's Addiction Story
Amanda told Mikey she began using meth at 15, miscarried amid heavy drug use, survived alcohol poisoning, and briefly became sober during a second pregnancy.
Amanda's Rock Bottom
Amanda identified seeing her daughter watch as the child's father tried to suffocate her as the moment she finally fought for her life and recognized her rock bottom.
Amanda Finds Recovery
After Child Protective Services threatened adoption, Amanda met a man who introduced her to a sober-living home, a 90-day recovery program, and a spiritual foundation for sobriety.

I know. It's Friday. I was just thinking that. It's Friday. It feels like a Monday to me. All right, let's bring in the guests, too. Guests can come in. We have guests that come into the studio on Friday. They get to come in because they win the opportunity to come in at the beginning of the week. They play P1 Trivia, and they win the opportunity to come in here. He's got a Charlie Brown shirt off. Oh, that's so awesome. This is terrible. What? Oh, good grief. What's your name, bro? Uh... P1 Charles. P1 Charles. And I'd like to say, Charles didn't actually win. Let me get to it, Sky. Please, I beg of you. How old are you? 21. Now, as Sky was saying... Yeah, who's running the show? Well, it just dawned on me. Sorry. Sorry for speaking out of turn. Where is the girl that actually won P1 Trivia? Does anyone know? Boston Robb.
Talk to me about the girl that won P1 Trivia. Here is Boston Rob now plugging in his headphones. Oh, come on. Rob, where is the girl? She is still not here. I'm going to have Zeth give her a call. But she knows all the details. She was one of the first chicks to win like five months ago. Now, I'm just curious. This question is not meant to accuse. It's just a question. Why Zeth call? Why not you? I can call her. I just thought it would be cool if I had someone else do it. No, because I'm typing up this winner sheet right now, and then I was going to stay on the phones, but if you want me to run back and call her. Typing up a winner sheet? What are you talking about? I don't know, but I will say this. We have new sheets that Mikey wants that when the P1s come in, which I didn't get to before because we had that meeting, that they fill out all their info, I type it up, print it, and give it to you.
Yeah, now that should have been done already. The second I came in here to stop. Let me ask you this. No, it can't not be done because I was late, which I'll get to in a second. That can't be it. But listen, this is the deal. I, over the past couple of days, have been writing Boston Rob. See, part of the problem is that I love him too much. He's so charming, and he knows it. That's part of the problem, too. And so now, when he says something that's charming to me, I kind of get a little irritated. And what is anger? I've said a million times. Anger is hurt, sadness, and fear. And I'm a little fearful when he's charming to me that he's getting away with something. Because he has an ability to charm me. He says something funny. He smiles. You cannot help. I defy somebody to not like Boston Rob. I defy somebody to. But this guy, I'll ask him to do something and he will half you know what it and then he'll smile and make a joke and it's all good. And so I'm finally like, dude, you got to help me out here, bro. You got to get on it.
And one of the things I'm getting on him about, emails, and then he doesn't, I don't hear back from him from the email telling him that he's got to get on his emails. I don't know. And so, you know what he said to me back in the office the other day? Oh, man. It's so ridiculous what he said to me. It even made me laugh. Like, I'm scolding him in the office. Not in a mean way. But I go, Rob, you got to get on these emails, bro. I went to my email this morning. And I had over 550 emails and it said your mailbox is over its size limit. Oh, no. Never a good sign. Now, I had told B-Rob to clear it out and I'll get back on it. The reason that I told him that is because he wasn't doing it. He wasn't able to get to it. And I said to him in this email I wrote him, I think today. Have you seen the email I wrote you today? Yeah, you wrote me this morning at like 4.30. Yeah, wrote him an email this morning. I said.
The reason that I took it over was because you weren't getting to it. And I said, how do I expect you to handle my email if you can't handle your email? And I said, oh, I got it. Just start doing it. Get to it. Get to emails. But he says to me back in the office the other day, and it made me laugh. I go, Rob, did you get that email I wrote you about blah, blah, blah? And he goes, uh-uh. You know what you should do? Text me. And I go, wave of the future, text messaging. Not smart. And I go, yeah, I go, that's exactly it. I go, I will now type out instructions to you with my thumbs. And he says to me, he goes, well, first of all, Mike, it's a skill. And second of all, Oh, shit. It's becoming more and more prominent. Oh, he's the best. And it makes me laugh. Just because it makes me laugh, Rob, doesn't mean you get away with it. Like, do it. Come on. I'm off the hook. Yes. Charmed him again. But with that email that you wrote me, like, it was later at night that I hadn't received it. Because you said, I can check the time on it. I don't know exactly when. And I got it that morning. Like, when I got it, it was pretty much too late, I'm assuming, to write your back. Well said.
Which one are we talking about? That first one. What was it? The ABBA one. Oh, right, right, right. No. I was writing the parody song, Drama Queen. I didn't get it until the next day until I was already in here. Right. And I said, Rob, write me some lyrics and let me compare the lyrics. Let me see if I can get some good stuff from you. Because Rob's pretty good at writing songs. And I didn't get anything. So I finished the work. I finished the song. and then and the next day it's never even brought up like he doesn't bring it up he doesn't and now if i would have got that email late i would have wrote you back and say dude sorry just got this you know do you still want me to do it you know i can still work on something for you know something he doesn't write me like that's terrible he doesn't write not respond like i don't understand how it's an email text me no no just send me a text no
No, that's not how we operate. But it's cool, man. Okay, I don't care. Everyone's doing... You know, dude, if you want me to do something, videotape it and post it to YouTube. Just telling me what you would like. Leave me a comment on MySpace. Yeah, dude, MySpace me. I'm on it all show long. Texting my girlfriend. And then... No, because I'm trying to figure this out here. Figure it out? You get an email, you hit respond. When I got that email, when he brought this up to me, you would come back from Flounders already had recorded it. Yeah, that's how far in the process I got. You got the email that morning. That's what you said. Yeah. Why didn't you respond? No, I understand. This is all I would expect. Like, am I supposed to write the lyrics during the show? Oh, you're so dumb. Hang on. Let me respond to that one. Oh, great.
He just said, what am I supposed to do? Write the lyrics during the show? He writes the recap email of what we did on the show that day. That's what I started doing during the break. During the show. Now, I haven't said anything. Whatever. Definitely something that should be done after the show so you can focus on show stuff during the show. But, hey, whatever. He's charming. Hold on. The only reason I started doing that is because when I would leave things out by the end of the show, because I take notes all show long, so I can keep up, keep everything in. The reason I do that is I'll write something that just happened. right away so I don't forget it. I don't leave things out of that. Why don't you write it in your notes? Yeah, if you're keeping notes. Because I kept screwing up and leaving things out of my notes or I missed my own song that we debuted. I understand. But that doesn't have anything to do with it. Remember when I did that and you yelled at me and I was like, I felt like an idiot. But that doesn't have anything to do with taking good notes and writing that thing during the show.
You can take good notes and say, your answer to me is, Mike, I have to do it during the show because I'm using the email I'm going to click send on four hours later as my notepad. Basically, yeah. Flawed system, my friend. It's working better for me. Take a little notepad like this one. I know it's working better for you, which I think is fantastic. However... I think that if you got a little notepad like this one. I got a note sheet right here. I tried buying one. I'm looking at a blank note sheet. Well, it's a piece of paper. Here's what you do, Rob. You take that piece of paper during the show, just write down notes on it, and then at the very end of the show, you write the recap looking at your notes at the end of the show. And what that will provide you with is more time. It'll provide you with more time. I tried buying one of those little notebooks that you had, and I lost it. I did. You don't remember I brought this up to you? Leave it here. I can't just leave my notebook here. Willy nilly. Dude, there's notebook themes everywhere. Dude, then I won't have an excuse. Come with me. I use that notepad for everything. Let me tell you. This is why I don't get upset with Boston Rob. Some people. Some people.
Let me tell you. Some people you just know their heart is in a dirty place and you just know it. This kid's heart's always in the right place. But I'm serious. But what he does, but what I can accuse you of is sometimes I think you take advantage of the relationship. Ah, it's Mike. What's he going to do? He loves me too much. I'll do it tomorrow. So all you got to do is keep those notes. Get on the stuff. That's it. You get on the notes and you write it up at the end of the show. And respond to our emails. Now, this past email, how do I respond to that? Because it was kind of just like... Let me read it. Hey, hang on. Let me take a look. No, no, no. There's a new one. Yeah, I wrote one this morning. Because I got it this morning and I haven't responded yet. Click delete. And I was like, I don't know how to respond to this. Do I say... Okay, this is what I said. This is what I said to him. I'll read you the email. Okay.
The subject is my email, meaning my work email. It says, start weeding through it again. Emily does it for Jeff and Jer. I need to count on you. Every time I consider taking it out of your hands, I get irritated. And I have to think that. The reason I had you stop was because it was not getting done. You barely check your own email, so how do I expect you to check mine? I'll tell you how you do it. Signed? What do you respond? Got it, bro. Got it, bro. I'm on it. Handled. Does he not get it? Wait, wait, wait. Are you guys noticing something, though? There's something that is repelling him from replying. I mean...
I'm not scolding. I'm curious. What is that? There's a psychology of, because we all know, he's got a take on everything. And so I almost wish that I had said, Rob, what is your take on responding to... And now, Boston Rob's take on... Responding to emails. I don't know. I don't like email. I see. I really don't. I gotcha. And what is it about... Okay, so you don't like email. What is it about... I mean, if someone's across... Now, Boston Rob's take on... Responding to people's emails. If I can tell you in person, why wouldn't I just say, hey, listen, all right. I'll tell you why. I have an answer for you. You forget. That's true, but if I write stuff on my hand, I don't forget. So let me answer that one. Got an answer for that one. Many, many times, you don't write it on your hand. Rob's hand looks like a tattoo artist, like was drunk working on him. That's what his hand looks like at the end of the day. It's a mess. He looks tattooed. It's awful. And I think to myself, how does he organize the ink on his hands? It's all smeared and it just... Well, when I accomplish something on my hand, you rub it off with your thumb. I do.
Sean, does that mean he doesn't wash his hands after he uses the rep? I don't even want to think about that. No, if you do wash your hands, you've got to be careful that you ain't taking off the ink. There's always an amount. Hang on. There's always an amount. Sean, how much does smooch that hand? No! Ew. No, come on. You know, like the Godfather. Too early. It's too early to do this to Shani. Godfather style. Like kissing the ring. Like kissing the ring, only... This time, you're kissing the back of the ink. Sorry, Sean. No, the top of the hand, right? No, no, no. The top of the hand where he's taken his right... It's top of the left hand where he's taken his right thumb and smudged something away to erase it. Done it. Finished it, task. How much? Oh, man. Thousand? Thousand? Thousand cash? No way, no. Come on. I dare you. It's an insult. Sean's a germaphobe, so 1,000 is not enough. Not even the right ballpark. No, no way, dude. There are way too few zeros on that. Please. Dude, I'm not kidding. My hand ain't dirty, Sean. You're bringing dirty back. That is true, though. Let's introduce everyone. Meanwhile, the P1 who was supposed to be here hasn't been called. I've been talking to Boston for a long time. I've been talking to Rob. That's probably waiting out front right now.
I suspect that he wants me to turn the email responsibility over to Zeth. I suspect that, but I won't do it. I won't do it. I won't do it. You don't ask that much of him. I've already got on it this morning. Dude, I got like 50,000 things. My apologies. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Oh, please. To my defense, the second I got that. And now Boston Rob's take on himself. On me. The second I got that email, I got to work on it. Like, that was the first thing. Oh, my God. I appreciate that. I appreciate that. I promise you. No, no, no. You should reply and reply with that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was just going to say. I figured if I see you, go listen. Already started on the email. That's what I was going to tell you. But you've already seen him today. You'll forget. Yeah, yeah. Is it on your hand? What? Is it on your hand? No, it's not on my hand. Well, then you would have forgot. You never answered the thing about what is it that goes on in your mind that goes, I don't want to hit reply. What is it? I don't know. I'll have to dig deeper then. My shrink loves me because when she asks me a question, I actually stop and I think about it and I answer really honestly. A lot of times the answer is because I'm afraid.
And we get somewhere. Like, we get somewhere. It's really cool. Like, you get somewhere. But he's got to figure out, like, what is it about the whole replying to emails that he doesn't like some of them? But it's affecting your personal life. Oh, gosh. So let's introduce everybody. There's seven people on the Mikey Show. I'm the host. My name's Mikey. I'm 37. Eddie is our producer and sports guy. And he is 34. How you feeling? I'm feeling great. Skye's our news girl. 30 years of age. My name's Skye. What's happening? Out of the gate. Sean's our sound effects guy. He's the person in charge of playing that. I know you'll like him. I love him. He's 37. Thanks, Skye. You don't need to give the finger. Oh, wow. That was for Sean. Oh, no. Calm down. It's all right. I'm already taken. Ashley is our assistant producer. This is a very classy look. Yeah. It's like you're working a law firm. Really? Yeah, it's a classy look. She's like an administrative assistant today. Yeah. Today, Ashley's an administrative assistant. Very professional one. Okay. Thank you. You look at that girl, you go, oh, I bet she owns something. Not a couple things.
Thank you. Boston Rob is our friend. He is 24 years of age. He is no longer in the studio that he was broadcasting from just moments ago. I don't know where he went. That can't be true. That's the truth, Eddie. That can't be true. Maybe the girl's here. Well, then Zeph goes and gets him. Now he's thinking, Mike doesn't want me to delegate, but he... You're telling me it's that long. I know it. I can't figure him out, but I love him. I'll never fire him. We know. I'll never fire him. It's impossible. He's like a member of my family. He's amazing. He is. He's amazing. He is. I'm not kidding you guys. Hey, listen. P1 Charles is in the studio. He's a witness to it. Charles, am I lying? He's not in there, right? I don't see him. Take a look. Nah, I don't see him. He must be getting the girl. Yeah, I'm sure he is. He must be. He comes back and he's like, who went to smoke? What? Oh my gosh. Idiot. After that conversation, I think I kind of needed one. I needed some Joe from Starbucks. And then the seventh member of the Mikey show is Zeth. And Zeth is 22. The youngest person on the show. And
One day, Eddie said, he reminds me of Charlie Brown. He does the same kind of posture. Come on, Charlie Brown. Another good kid. He really is a good kid. Austin Robb is back. Oh, there he is. He did go to get our guest. He did go to get our guest. He went to get our guest. Look at him. Now he's going, what did I do? You didn't do anything, bro. You didn't do anything. It's okay, dude. You're fine. What's up with this guy? Eddie? He thinks you're kind of funny. That's all. You're the best. You really are. I'm so confused. It's all right. Don't worry about anything. Have a seat. I'm America's sweetheart. What is a... There's a new P1. Did you ask her why she was late? She went to the back, which when I told her... She went to the back of the radio station. If I say, come to the front, and she was one of the first girls in here before when she came to the front... Uh-oh. Gotcha. What is your name, young lady? Jen. Jen. P1 Jen.
How old are you, Jen? 25. Good morning, everyone. Hi. Good morning. I brought you guys a Santa Claus over there on the ground. You got to talk right in the microphone in order for us to hear this. I brought you guys a Santa Claus. She brought a Santa Claus. Jen's been in here before. She has? I remember her. Remind me, Eddie. I do not remember her. You'll remember her in a few minutes. Does she talk the whole time? Yeah. She's a little... How would you put it, Jen? Fun. Yeah. Me too. She's a little fun. Enthusiastic. She's enthusiastic. Easily excitable. Adorably obnoxious. Right in that mic there, sweetie. Yeah, right into the microphone. You guys got mad at me last time. What did you do? I forget. When was that? When Sean Merriman and DMC were in the studio. Really? You guys kept telling me to shut up. You must have just kept talking. Shut up! Oh, yeah. There was pictures and autographs, which is fine. Oh, yeah. It was at inappropriate times, I think. I remember that. It's fine. Jen, you're going to have a great time. Yeah. You just got to remember that, you know, if you speak, if you, yeah, you got it. Well, yeah, she just did the sign of locking her mouth shut, which, you know, it's probably a good idea. But if you do say something, you have to remember that people can't hear you unless you talk right into the microphone. So there you go.
Okay. I was late today. Probably the latest I've ever been. Yeah, what happened? Got all the way down to Starbucks and realized I didn't have my wallet. Oh, no. And so the people at Starbucks let me have a freebie until I'm back in there. I'm there every day. They know I'm good for it. So I had to drive home, get my wallet, and get back on the road. I was very late today. So already I was thrown off. But I think I'm ready to go. 570-1053. Give us a call. Beginning and end of every show, we do open phones. So basically, it's anything you want to talk about. Mikey Show, hello. Eddie and I watched a turd of a football broadcast. I mean, that game itself was kind of exciting. Yeah, it was a good game. Yeah, but the telecast. Holy cow. First of all, NFL Network's only on in 20% of American homes. Thank God.
What a mess, right? If it's a network to showcase the NFL, why do you have Bryant Gumbel on that broadcast? It is so bad. It's unlistenable. Is he boring? Dude. Dude. Well, you know how Bryant Gumbel talks. Yeah. Yes, wow. There's no enthusiasm. That's the issue. There's no enthusiasm about anything. So when exciting things are going on, Here's a play-by-play guy who is the anti-Josh Lewin. Yeah. You know how Josh Lewin is like, to the five! Touchdown! He's in there, LT! You know, Brian Gumbel is... And there's a touchdown from the five-yard line. Yeah. That was the single most greatest play I've ever seen in my life. Mm-hmm. He has now got the ball and is racing down the field to the 45, to the 40, to the 35, to the 30, to the 25, to the 20, to the 15, to the 10...
To the five, it looks like he's taking it to the house touchdown. But then, but it's not just that. There's more. No one knows what they're doing at the network. And so they'll go down for like a field report from Deion Sanders. And it's whoever's controlling like his microphone level. What? It's like. He's not kidding. Whoa. It's so bad. Oh my. It was terrible. Yeah. But then, so then, he's doing that, and, like, the game is being played while, like, usually they, as soon as, this is what the big boys do on the big networks. As soon as the whistle is blown and a play is dead, they go real quick to the sideline reporter so you can squeeze in a little thing and then be done by the time the next play is about to begin. Dion is, like, over-modulatingly screaming in your television.
And a play is going on, and Tony Romo throws a touchdown, and Bryant Gumbel has to interrupt him. And he doesn't stop when Bryant interrupts him because Bryant is so underenthusiastic. Dion doesn't even hear him interrupt. But he's screaming a sideline report. Touchdown happens, and Bryant Gumbel goes, wow. He literally... That's what he said. That was the words that came out of his mouth. He must have said more. He goes, wow, a touchdown. And while he says that, Dion is still like, and wraps up, and then Brian Gumbel goes, that was a play that was very well executed, and touchdown, Cowboys. And you're looking at your screen like, wow, this is JV, man. How can they let this happen? I know it. I know. It's terrible. It's terrible. You know, didn't they notice this last year? Can't they go, okay, you know, maybe it wasn't the best idea. Let's move on. Yeah, because they had terrible problems last year, too. Holy moly. It was awful. P1 Brian, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's going on? I was wondering how Sky's date went last night. Ah, yes. Well, it's a good thing you asked. It's a good thing you asked because
We just so happen to have that on our schedule of things to discuss this morning. And so, just after 7 o'clock, be tuned in. We'll find out. All right, man. We'll do it together. P1 Quiggy is on the line. Hey, guys. How's everybody doing? Good, man. What's up? Not much. Hey, did you guys notice in that game last night, too, that it wasn't Tony Romo playing? It was... Brian Romo most of the time, and it was Tony Favre a lot of the times, too. He doesn't know any of the players on the field. Brian Gumbel needed to get a new job. I didn't hear him do that. I did hear him mistakenly say Tony Romo played for the Packers a couple of times, but I didn't hear him make that many mistakes as far as names go. This is not something he's terrible at. He's not cut out to be good. The guy's a fine journalist. He's the best. I mean, if the topic is steroid use, and it's always something that you haven't really thought about. For instance, steroids in the NFL, steroids in baseball. Give me my Brian Cumball music. When people think of steroids, usually the thing that comes to mind is Major League Baseball and the NFL. Few think of the NBA. But our Armin Katayan is studying some of the effects...
that steroids are beginning to have even in the NBA. And he's great at that. He's great at jotting notes down. He's great at taking his glasses off and looking really super smart when he does it. He's really good at that. Crossing his legs? Yes, Carl, dude. Nobody crossed their legs like Brian Gumbel. He is so intelligent looking when he does that leg cross. I just know right away. That dude's smarter than me. Look at the way he crossed his legs. But play-by-play guy, uh-uh. No way. The worst. P1 Mark is on the line. Mark, what's up? Hey, what's going on, Mikey? What's going on? I don't know if you noticed during the game last night as well. What? The word precipitation. Precipitation. He used the word precipitation? Yeah. One of the players, I guess, he slipped. One of the players slipped. And he goes, well, we haven't had enough precipitation this evening.
Who uses that word? Right. Call it rain, guy. Talk like a normal person. Everybody else says, all right, it's been a downpour, it's been raining, but who uses precipitation? I don't know. Brian Goble. Guy that takes his glasses off and crosses his legs really smartly. That's who. Let's see. P1 Rookie. How's it going, Mike? What's up? Hey, I was wondering if you had to ask anybody to buy your coffee like Scott did, had to have somebody buy your groceries at Vaughn. line to pay for the coffee no i you know just uh well because the people of starbucks sounds like they offered they offered and they know me yeah you know but when sky was at vaughn she didn't have any money she had forgot her wallet and they didn't know me and they didn't know her and so uh she she asked a fan well that's not true everybody knows everyone they're aware of me i should say well the fan the fan in line know me yeah of course that's what i'm gonna
Hello. Whatever. I'm staring her right at the face from all the magazines there in line. Oh, my gosh. P1 Killer. Hey, Mikey Show. What's up? Just calling to let you know that you should put a medical advisory on your show for when kids come out of the hospital with appendectomy surgery. Why is that? Oh, my God. My son laughed so hard when you were singing your drama queen song. We love you, Sky, by the way. Thank you. And he was, oh my God, it was hurting him so bad, but he said, oh my God, that was so funny. Well, we're going to put an advisory. You guys are awesome. Hadn't thought of that. Thank you very much. Have a good one. Today on the show, we're going to find out how Skye's date went last night. Well, a date with my girlfriend, Michelle. No. Skye don't. It was. She was my date for the evening. Did any of you guys pause last night to just think about where Skye was last night? Many times. So did I. When I was going to bed at 8.30, I was like, I wonder if she's still awake, still out. I wonder if they've kissed yet. I was not thinking that. Married people here, stop it. I was consumed with the fact that you weren't there with your husband. How cute that was. How cute. Oh, thank you.
So anyway, we'll get into all of it in just a little bit. We'll play some Ashley Pyramid. Oh, yeah. Nice. Love Ashley Pyramid. We're going to do Winter Plugs All, so a guy's going to come in here, and a girl is going to come in here. Yes. Our first female. First female singer. Oh, I like it. What we do is awesome. We have a guy and a girl come in, play acoustic guitar, and sing original music, and then we let you vote on it via the P1 text army. So we'll do that. We've got a lot of good stuff on the show today. So don't go anywhere. Let's see who we got. Mitch Hedberg in the stand-up spotlight. I have two sisters and one of them is named Wendy. And if you asked Wendy if I was weird, she'd probably say, yeah. But that's backwards because she's weird. Because she has like a husband and two children. And they have a family photo on top of their VCR. Well, they're all looking slightly to the left as though something is going on over there. The camera is right in front of you. But I guess something happened to the left that made everybody happy. They said, my sister is cross-eyed, so she can't quite pull it off. My eye is right on. I'll tell you what. The Mikey Show will be right back.

Well, we do not know how to drive in the rain. Proof positive with our community here this morning, that is for sure. So give yourself some extra time. Be careful out there, especially those off and on ramps. That's where people just take it too fast, and that's the story. Right now in the south bay, you've got a tough ride. It's 805 northbound. That is back to big time out of Chula Vista. Pretty solid in the north part from earlier accident. That's now been cleared at Oklahoma Boulevard. That, in turn, has affected the West 94 commute. That's solid brake lights now from Lemongrove Avenue all the way to the 805 freeway. Westbound 8, you've got back up around that near Lake Jennings Park Road. And then it slows again over the Grossmont Summit from Mollison all the way in towards Severn Drive. More brake lights from Lake Murray out of La Mesa all the way in towards the 15 freeway. Southbound to the 15, still finding a heavy ride from Auto Parkway down the Via Rancho out of Escondido. Slows again from Carmel Mountain Ranch all the way down towards the 56th.
The Cozerai, what a mess this is. This is crawling here as well, and lots of rain here, so give yourself some extra time down that shoreline. Reduced speeds into Oceanside, then really tough from Palomar Airport Road, solid, all the way down to Solana Beach. And now we've got a new accent, northbound 125. Looks like it's right around the Hamishaw Boulevard, so watch for some great thoughts around that as well. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Cricket's great. Cricket, we were mentioning the other day, is a great company, not just for us Earthlings. Mm-hmm. But also for creatures from outer space. Other universes. And what we were saying was that Cricket has this dollar menu going on right now, which will allow you to do things like text your friends in Mexico.
And I thought, well, how great would that be, like, if you were a creature from outer space who came here and you were looking for a wireless company and you thought to yourself, you might not just spend time in the continental U.S.? Right. Well, and especially, you know, wanting to explore, like, if you wanted a ceramic Winnie the Pooh and you could text Mexico and be like, you know, what up, SA? Right. Can you hook me up? What about the Tweety? My alien brother. Yeah, for sure. Okay, good. Just making sure if that's important. Let's say you went there, you found the Tweety, and you wanted to send a picture of it to a creature from outer space friend. You could do that. And, you know, if you're an alien, you're just landing here on Earth, you don't have a lot of dough, well, $25, that's it, will get you the unlimited choice LD plan, which it's unlimited anytime minutes, unlimited U.S. long distance, the whole shebang. So, pretty awesome. Word to your madre. They would say in Mexico. Skye, what is the website? It's mycricket.com slash San Diego. Tecate Light, the number one cerveza light in Mexico, is now available here in the United States. To ensure that Tecate Light remains true to its Mexican cerveza roots, we will not refer to Tecate Light as light b****. We feel its Mexican flavor and attitude are much too bold to be referred to as an ordinary light b****. In fact, to our censors, b****.
B*** is a four-letter word. They didn't even allow B*** to be mentioned in the same commercial as Tecate Light. Not even to explain the difference between B*** and Cerveza. So as you can hear, all references to B*** have been censored for your protection in order to avoid any unintended association between light B*** and Tecate Light Cerveza. Tecate Light, Mexico's number one Cerveza Light. It's not B***, it's Cerveza. Enjoy the Cat the Light responsibly 2007. Cervezas Mexicanas, White Plains, New York. The Mikey Show continues, featuring Mikey. I am a fat nerd, and it's really okay for you to say hello. Eddie. Hey, I'm a realist. Sky. I am just because it makes other people weirded out. Unless I'm provoked. Ashley. The Mikey Show's on. Wrap yourself in, kids. Rock 105.3. In this place where I'm like...
I do need to get organized. I am looking at base camp at Mount Everest, and I'm like, well, can I reach the summit? Maybe I should just camp here at base camp. No, come on. And then I'm like, no, you've got to at least give it a shot in terms of getting organized here, buddy. You've got a way to go. There's still a lot of show left. Anyway, I think this looks like a nice place, guys. I'm just going to set up my tent and call it a night. No, no, come on. It's 646. Rodney King was shot in the face and then biked home. All right, so we'll see you tomorrow. Eddie just gave the hand sign like, well, now what do I do? Like, I'm supposed to follow that? Although I have disturbing news. What? Brett Favre. Here we go. That's going to be hard for me. Okay, you can get through it. All right. Brett Favre. Eddie's a big Brett Favre fan. Well, he's so rugged. Well, he's like in love with Brett Favre. Why do you say he's in love with Brett Favre? It was a man crush. Yeah.
Huge man crush. Oh, wow. One time we did a list of us guys here on the show and who our man crush would be. So rugged. And Eddie picked number four. Duh. Brett Favre. Eddie, what about the gray hair, though? I mean, I was showing him on TV last night. It looks great. Hey, we're all getting older, man. You know? Still looks great. Even more rugged. Most wranglers. Anyway, he got injured last night. Uh-oh. Fight through it. Heared his elbow and separated his shoulder. His streak could be in jeopardy. Eddie, tell us I wouldn't do this. Let everybody know what streak. He has started in 269 straight games. Wow! Is that a record? It's a record for quarterbacks. It's the third longest ever for a player. I bet the longest belongs like a kicker or a punter or something. They just don't get hurt. Wow, that was tough. I'm glad you fought through that, buddy. It was hard. I'm not going to lie. That's right. It was really difficult. Welcome back. I have in front of me right now the 10 reasons bad employees don't get fired. I'm listening. Whoa. Uh-ohs. Let's see. Let's see. Number 10.
He or she is not really a bad employee. He says, so what if a co-worker works from home, takes long lunches, or does something else you don't think is fair as long as his or her work gets done? Okay, that does not apply to Bob and Bob. Number nine, the employee has everybody fooled. In their book, Snakes in Suits, a couple of doctors explain that a surprising number of workplace employees are psychopaths. While psychopaths make up 1% of the general population, these two doctors found that 3.5% of the executives they worked with, quote, fit the profile of a psychopath. Number eight, the employee knows something. In this case, Boston Rob doesn't have anything on me. Doesn't know anything. Doesn't know anything about me. Well, whatever he knows, the stuff he knows is no big deal. He could say, well, I knew you.
You told me one time that you fatted in your sleep, but your wife gave that up the other day. Number seven, the boss doesn't want to go through the hiring process. Boy, ain't that the truth. Yes. Number six, the boss feels sorry for the employee. I do not feel sorry for this kid. He's got a life right now, this kid. Living it up. Hey, guys having sage buttered turkeys all the time over here. Every day. He's got a great job. Beautiful gal. Cowork is in love with me. I know you'll like him. I love him. Oh, man. Thank you, Scott. Wow. Number five. Wow. I just want to see where everybody goes when they hear this number five. See what our reaction is to that one. Okay. Number five is, and by the way, I'm reading the ten reasons bad employees don't get fired. Number five is the boss is afraid of the employee. Hmm.
Skye, why are you looking at the ceiling and pretending that no one can tell what you're thinking? That one does not apply to Boston Rob. No. That the boss is afraid of the employee. That one does not apply to Boston Rob. Oh. Nope. What? Well, what do you mean what? Why are you saying what? Because you just looked at me. I'm looking around the room. I mean, I'm not looking at you. Okay, okay. Like you were insinuating something. Avert your eyes. Actually, I'm sorry. No, I just love it. No, no, no, no. Please, don't get angry. No, no, no. Please don't get angry. It's getting bad. Please, I don't want to be afraid of you. But I'm not even mad. Number four. Number four is the boss thinks it could be worse. Even if everyone knows the employee is not pulling his or her weight, management may fear that a replacement could do an even worse job. The fear is compounded if the company has previously had other people perform more poorly in that position.
Number three, the employee brings more value to the company than he or she costs. Maybe the employee who jokes around and wastes other employees' time at meetings is also a brilliant worker whose productivity has resulted in significant revenue for the company. I agree when you want to, folks. I don't cost a lot and I bring value. I will tell you this. Top of my resume. I will tell you this. That one kind of applies to my brother. My brother Steve. Yeah, you don't have to call me your brother. Will you stop? My brother Steve at work says readily, he's a little bit of a hothead. Oh. But, he's been there for 10 years, he does radio sales, and he makes a lot of money for that company. He really does. Number two, the boss relies on the employee. Oh, I don't... No, you can't. I don't even know where to go. the employee has a relationship with someone higher up. Not that I'm aware of. I wonder if that one has anything to do with the employee knows something. No, I'm just kidding. Here's the deal. They don't have it on the list. Employee makes everybody laugh. Should be on there. Rodney King got shot in the face. Wow. Well, it happened. You're saying it happened. Yeah, I mean.
Unless you're hunting with Dick Cheney, when does that happen? 50 Cent. 50 Cent? Yeah, dude. So you're saying that Rodney... So you're saying that... So you're saying that black people are proud of this? Yeah, you're racist. What are you saying? Really? Because you just said Dick Cheney. That's really awful. No one mentioned race. Dick Cheney got shot in the face? No one mentioned race except for Sean. I said Dick Cheney. Wow, Sean, you're racist. Dick Cheney got shot in the face? Sean's a racist. Mike used the example of Dick Cheney. What was your example? Ashley thinks Dick Cheney got shot in the face. Sean's a racist. What was your example? That's crazy. What was your example? Sean's a panda. Wow. What was your example? So anyway. What was your example? Yeah. Rodney King got shot in the face and Sean's a racist. Yep. Thank you. He's so racist. I admit it. I am. I actually am. Died in a wool racist. I knew it. That's why I shaved my head.
Yeah, so he was shot in the face, arm, back, and torso by birdshot fire from a shotgun. He then bicycled about... Maybe somebody mistaked him for a bird. Maybe somebody was hunting in defense to the hunter. Maybe they thought he was a very large dove. On the streets of Rialto? Is that Rialto? What? What is it? Huh? Rialto? Is that how it's pronounced? Rialto? Rialto. It is pronounced Rialto. So he then jumped on his bike and biked about a mile and a half home. When he got home, he called the police. They came to his house. They say he appeared to be drunk. There's rumors that it may have had something to do with some sort of domestic dispute, but nobody's really given straight answers about what went down, so they're still investigating. He said, what? Can't we all just get along? Right. Who doesn't like Johnny Cash singing Soundgarden? You wired me awake and hit me with the hand of broken nail. Tied my lead and pulled my chain to where my blood began to boil. There's been rumors that Britney Spears is pregnant, and the person that supposedly is the father confirmed it in a text message to what magazine, Sky? In Touch. In Touch Magazine. Shut up. We will tell you about it after this. Back where I'm from, a retarded guy could never have this much fun. It's Mikey.

Well, my husband and I went back last May. We just got married, so we bought our new mattress. We got a really good deal on it. They threw in free sheets and pillows because we said we heard about it through you. And they also gave us the free mattress protector, so it was really cool.
And I referred my mom to go there because she is buying a bed for my grandmother just this last week. And she went to the Curdie Mesa store, and they actually beat the price on Costco. Sleep Train was selling it for, I think, around $1,000, and then the Costco price was like $500-something. So they beat that, which is awesome. They just won Best Mattress Store, and there's a reason for it. They're really good. The prices are great, and if you're getting one of these good name brand mattresses, or no matter what you're looking for, they're great. How is that mattress in terms of being comfortable? Khan has been charged with second-degree assault for throwing a kid off stage during one of his concerts. The Cowboys prove they are the best team in the NFC, beating Green Bay 37-27. Yeah, so Us Magazine, Sky? In Touch. In Touch Magazine says that they got a text message confirming from who? J.T. Rodham, music producer. Music producer? Yeah, and former fling of Britney Spears recently. See, because there's been these rumors that everybody has kind of thought were just that, kind of ridiculous. Right. That Britney Spears is pregnant. And you especially think it's ridiculous because you go, well, it appears that she's having some issues with substance. Substance abuse. Right. So I think everybody's like, if you think, when you hear pregnancy stuff, you're like, come on, that's too monstrous. She can't be. And so now you're thinking, this guy's confirming it, man. Yeah. He's saying she's his baby's mama. Yeah, and according to InTouch magazine, the text message conversation went like this. InTouch says, they're saying Brittany's pregnant and you're the father. J.T. Rodham says, it's true. InTouch says, okay, do you think Brittany will keep it? She's already talking about it to people. J.T. Rodham writes, no clue on what she will do. She is unpredictable.
And that's the end of their text conversation. Any chance that he is not media savvy and that he is like being sarcastic and thinks he's being funny? Yeah, it's true. Right. Is there any chance that that's a deal? Yeah, could be. That was my first thought. Yeah. I mean, or it could be that, you know, maybe it wasn't even him sending the text. I mean, you never really know. I mean, it's not like it's a face-to-face conversation. So, who knows? Ashley, what do you think? You look like you had a thought on it. Oh, no. I was just saying, hey, look, text messaging is the new thing. Rob was right. Screw emails. I mean, even InTouch Magazine is doing it. They're saying that it's a big deal. You're on the ball, man. Thank you. Nice. Breaking new ground. Well, listen, I have, I mean, we could easily go to Ashley Pyramid right now, but the truth is, is that I just want to... Hi, this is Roman Oban, and you're listening to my girl, Sky, on the Mikey Show. I want to talk to Sky so bad, and I want to find out from Sky how last night went, because for those of you that don't know, Roman Oban is a left tackle,
For the San Diego Chargers. Offensive tackle. And he's come into the studio before. When he did. Very instant. Fun chemistry. Between he and Sky. And. He invited her. To an event that he was having. And the event was a charity event. In fact one time. If I remember correctly. Didn't he actually come in and. recreate the scene in Titanic at the very end of the movie with you, Skye? Oh, it's true. It's funny that you bring that up because last night he was telling the people from Fox 6 News all about it. Oh, really? That's not good because now it's out there. Now the public knows. Well, no. I mean, we did it here on the air. Evidence. We did it here on the air. Exhibit A. Well, no, it was done here on the air. In love. He did bring that up last night. So he invited Skye to this deal. Not Eddie, who works for the Chargers, is our sports guy.
Not me. The host of the show. He invited Skye. No, he did. All we're friends. What do you want? Now, when you are a married person, what do you usually do when you get an invitation to such a gala that would obviously have things like, you know, football players, celebrities, sports figures. You invite your husband. You know he's going to love it. Well, Skye's husband is right now. He's out of the country. He is not out of the country. He is not. He is in bed with a broken back and cannot move. No, no. That is not it? That is not true. He is so deathly ill with a flu or a cold virus that he can't get out of bed. He's a leper. No, he's fine. Ebola. Yeah. You're saying to me there is nothing wrong with him. Well, I mean, no, he's not sick. I mean, he just doesn't really like socializing with people he doesn't, with strangers. I see. I knew it would be kind of weird for him. Thinking about him, you guys. Yeah. So who did you take? I took my girlfriend, Michelle. And Skye, what she did was she went out and she purchased a new dress. I didn't have anything appropriate in my closet. That is a mouthful right there. She did not have any. She says, I did not have anything appropriate in my closet. I needed a new dress. And she went out and she got a new dress and a new purse. Yes.
Yes. And went to this gala with her friends. Friend. Friend. And met up with Roman Oban. Now, as I understand, pictures are available online. Yes, of my outfit. Eddie, have you seen them? I'm going there now. I'm going there now. You've got to put that on the main site. Where's that? Oh, he went to the store. I can do it. MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. If you go to Photos and then go to Photo Galleries, the first thing you see there is Sky at Roman Oban's charity event. This was last night. Click on View Gallery. Let's take a look. We have not seen these. We waited until we were on the air to be able to see these. Look at her with her leg up. I know. I think we're getting so many hits to the website, it's slowing it down. Oh, wow. It's like a prom picture. Why do you have that jacket on? Her and Roman Oban. Yeah, Skye is wearing... Oh, there's a picture without the jacket. Skye's wearing her mink coat. Picture number four. It's not a mink. Oh. Okay. Goodness. What? That V in that top...
Is it bad? It's about to her belly button. It is not. It's down to where the middle part of your bra is. It's lower than that, my friend. No, it's not lower than that because I was wearing a bra and so my bra would be exposed if it was lower than that. Okay, but I have eyes. You look so hot. Well, I was wearing a bra. Skye, now, is this picture taken from a walk-in closet? Where are you in this photograph? I'm in my bathroom at my house before we left. At the cat house. Holy cow. Dude, how about that makeup? Wow, very dramatic. You look great. Thank you. Thank you, Ashley. That's something else. Oh, my God, you look amazing. Skye. Love it. Are you wearing clothes? Yes. Can I borrow that dress? Skye, I will agree with Ashley. I think you look beautiful. Thank you. I would say that that dress is a very sexy dress. Yeah, definitely sexy is the number one word. The girls look so dramatic. The girls look great. So inappropriate. It's not inappropriate. We're posing for a photo op. Wow. I'm in shock. I've taken many pictures with you. Never.
One that looks like that. Never. Your makeup? On the line right now is Jay Isbell, who was there. Yes, he was. Jay was there. Hi, Jay. Hey, how's it going? Jay was able to be our eyes and ears last night. Yeah, because I didn't know he was going to be there. And all of a sudden, I'm like, what is Jay doing here? I figured he'd be calling in this morning. So, Jay, what were your impressions of Sky's outfit? clear that it was ladies night out because she had both her ladies out. She looked the best I've ever seen her. I mean, the best I've ever seen her. Yeah, it was definitely the best you'd ever seen her. Okay, we're all so funny right now. Let me tell you something. Now, this is just a honest observation. This is the most revealing dress I've ever seen. This is the most revealing garb. Garment. I've ever seen you wear, Skye. I've seen you wear some things that... What about my birthday in Vegas? That was just the skirt that I thought was a little provocative. You had a very short skirt on. This is... This tops though. But nothing... Tops is the key word here. Yes. You guys are tripping. I don't think we're tripping. I do not think we're tripping. I don't think so. No. What? Outrageous.
So she looks fantastic. There's no doubt about it. She looks very, very nice. It is just wow. But, Jay, I was dressed appropriately, like, with the crowd. All the women were in, you know, cocktail attire, right? Yeah, but I didn't get to see as much of them as I saw of you. Oh, shut up. You're so cute. Not a lot left to the imagination, I think, is what Jay is saying. Jay. The gun show. Yeah. Okay. Anything interesting go down or anything of note? The pictures that you're seeing with her and Roman, she full-on tracked him down. I mean, he's in the back. Oh, wow. He stepped into a situation that was already going on, and it was opposite. He showed up where I was at. Wait a second. Give him a chance to speak, Scott. Well, he's misrepresenting the whole thing. You're screaming at him. Well, he's misrepresenting. You'll have your chance to respond. Can't he at least give his side of the story? Don't make up crap, Jay. Jay, what did you observe? This place is a mansion, and it is giant. It's all spread out, and they were doing something, I think, with KUSI. Right.
And, you know, Romo was back there and he was going to take a minute to eat right after he did whatever he did for the TV station. And then that's when they got in there. They got in there and immediately got in, kind of locked him up with just them. Wait, wait, wait. Who's they? Who's they? Skye and her girlfriend. Yeah. So they found him. Opposite. Are you saying, from your perspective, they found where he was, and they went to where he was and waited for the interviews to end? Right. And then when the interviews ended, what happened? That's when the camera came out, and they started taking the pictures, and that was the last place I saw her, to be honest with you. Skye, what do you say happened? So this place, it's a beautiful mansion. So we went, and you know, there were people everywhere. And we went into the master, these pictures are taken in the master bathroom. And it opens up onto this.
It opens up onto this little courtyard that has a little spa and a fireplace, and then there were two real comfy seats there, and no one was in there. So me and Michelle are like, you know what? Let's just sit here for a second. Wait a minute. Sit here where Roman is, where he's doing his interviews? Nobody's in there. Nobody's in there right now. Except for Roman. Nobody is in there except for me and Michelle. Where was Roman? I don't know. I have no idea. You just found an empty room, said, hey, let's have a seat. Yeah, there was a fire. There were chairs. We were wearing these high heels. Our feet were hurting. Let's warm ourselves by the fire. So we sat, and then we're sitting there for probably... Because I am freezing right now. I'm not barely wearing anything. Oh, no, that coat was nice and warm. So we're sitting there, and then about three minutes later, Roman walks in with the camera crew, and they're like, hey, this is a great place. We'd like to do the shot. Do you girls mind moving? And we're like, not a problem. So I knew that I wanted to get a picture with Roman. So I said, hey, Roman, when you're done, do you mind if I get a picture? Oh, yeah, not a problem. He goes, don't leave, hang out. Uh-oh. Okay. So we hang out. He does the interview. The interview stops. And we take the picture. And then he goes, and then he's about to eat. And I'm like, oh, well, we'll leave you alone. And he goes, no, no, sit here. Talk with me. Hang out. So we sat and hung out. And that's when Jay walked in. Really? Right. Wow, Jay. So Jay's totally misrepresenting that.
The way it went down. Go ahead, Eddie. Way to go, Jay. Way to go, Jay. Liar face. Another hilarious thing, though, was we walked up behind. You're such a dick. I was with JR, and I walk up behind her, and he kind of changes his voicing, and he goes, excuse me, are you Sky? And she just, oh, yes, I am. Wow. And she sees who it is, and she goes, you guys suck. I mean, there were P1s there. My name's Sky. What's happening? Yes, yes, I am. Are you a fan? A fan has come calling you. We got an email. Thank you, Jay. I appreciate you calling in. No problem, man. This email says, Mikey, I can't believe that dress. Sky, how could you leave the house like that? I'm blown away right now. She looks like a stripper. She should be ashamed. Signed, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Wow. That's P1 Greg. I'm not sure if that was really... That's amazing that they were together. Yeah, at 7 o'clock in the morning. That's amazing. I don't think they were even friends anymore. So, Skye, how did it go? How was the dinner? Oh, it was just awesome. They're glowing.
It was awesome. It was a really fun night. She's still got a little makeup on from last night. That's strange. I'm sorry, that's strange. Well, I used a lot of eye makeup and I rarely wear eye makeup like that. So I tried to wash it off the best I could last night and then again, wash my face this morning, but still some eyeliner. Trying to wash the Roman off is all I'm saying. The eyeliner is still left from last night. So while he was enjoying a meal and you were sitting there with him, talk to me about the conversation. Well, it was funny because as soon as the Fox 6 crew wrapped up their interview with him, he proceeds to tell the guy who I am and how, you know, we're longtime friends and how funny it was this one time he came in and we reenacted the Titanic scene and then we kind of did a little reenactment there for the Fox 6 guy. Oh, really? How did that go? What was that like? No, we were just doing the lines like, it's so cool. Oh, my God. I can't believe what I'm hearing. I know it. Oh, my God. I can't believe it. And then we just sat down and then he apologized about missing my birthday due to the wildfires and, you know, how he wanted to come in. But, you know, the fires, you know, kind of put the kibosh on those plans and asked how I was doing and, you know. Michelle, could you run and grab me? Oh, shut up. Some more punch. Some more punch, please. Yes, punch. They were serving punch.
at this charity event in a $20 million mansion. Could you do me a favor? Run back to Chula Vista and if you could get me a Q-tip, thank you. A Q-tip. Anything, just beat it. Get out. Stop it. Leave us alone. Hello, third wheel. You got something to do over here? Just wondering if you could beat it for a second so I could be alone. Michelle, don't you have uncontrollable diarrhea? What are you talking about? Don't worry, I'll hit you right. I'm cool. How did your time together come to an end? The thing turned back into a pumpkin and you were like, oh no. Well, I guess, you know. People started to find out that, you know, because Roman, you know, he was the star of the night. People started to hear this guy was in the room, and so they were all rushing in, and they were... No, I was there. They disturbed us. Word started to get around. People, you know, obviously everyone wants to talk to Roman, you know, and so... Which I understand. I said, it's okay, Roman. Shut up. Your time is valuable, but I need some sky time at the end of the night. Stop it.
So a bunch of people started coming into the master bathroom. What? Is this where you were? Yeah. You guys were eating? He's eating his meal? On the little patio off of the master bathroom, yes. Hello. Don't you guys have a dinette off of the master bathroom? I mean, come on. Well, I've explained the setup like three times. I've explained the setup more than three times to you. If you were listening, you would know. You know your dinette off the master bath. You're telling me. You don't have a patio off your master bathroom. With a dinette where Roman can eat. It wasn't a dinette. There were just chairs. How many times? I mean, where else are you going to hang your gold out to dry? Like when you wash your gold, where do you put it to dry off? Hello? So anyway. This is so weird. So they find you and Roman in the master bath. Well, Michelle was there as well, but basically they found Roman, and so people kept talking and getting around him, and so finally I was like, you know what? I've monopolized enough of his time. He's doing his thing tonight. Did you give him one of these with a hand? Well, no, but he said he'd shoot me an email. What is this? Oh, and he also did bring up the fact that he was one of my top friends on MySpace, and then he thought that was really cool.
Oh, my God. Have numbers been exchanged in friendship yet? No. I say yet. Oh, stop it. I'm just asking. Hi, this is Roman Oban, and you listen to my girl, Sky, on the Mikey Show. Two adults can be friends, please. Friends, we're both happily married. Yeah, that's right. He got to meet your husband. Well, he wasn't allowed to go. That's not true. If he really wanted to go, he could have gone. If he really wanted to go, he could have forced the issue. I invited him first. Talk to me about that one. How'd that go down? Well, I told him about the event. Did you do it like Seth? But I did point out, you know, he'd need to wear a suit and I'd be doing a lot of... Like she made it as absolutely unappealing as possible. I'd be doing a lot of network.
networking that evening. No, you wouldn't be. And I know he doesn't care for the socializing, you know, too much. Networking? And so, yeah. You knew exactly what to say to make him not want to go. I don't know what you're referring to, actually. Wow. So he declined. Oh, there you go. Wow. So he couldn't make it. But the P1s that were there said I looked nice and thought I was dressed appropriately for the crowd. I want to make it my back. screen on my said you guys were tripping hey mikey uh sky's dress is unreal barely has anything on have some class sky happy holidays all the chicks to the bunny ranch oh wow i think i look classy if you want to insult me that's fine no you do look classy you look gorgeous thank you yeah classy fun throw it away yes we will now uh

That's something that happens during the break. Boston Rob will be doing his, you know, he's in a little separate room. It's a tiny little room. We're separated by glass. But if you are attracted to that kind of train wreck thing... Got it. Thank you. All right, whatever. Well, he's going back into the whole deal. I'm serious. You've got to check this out. We got it. Well said. Dude, it's a car wheeled down 5,000-foot cliffs in the... So anyway, Rob is in another little room separated by glass. And while he's doing the endorsement, Eddie walks up to every time he does endorsement, which we've never talked about in the air. Eddie walks up to the glass and shines a flashlight in his face, like waves at him, does inappropriate to try to get him to break. And he never breaks. Today, when he was doing it, Eddie actually walked into his studio and put the.
lens of the flashlight about an inch from his eye and shook it. It's a mag light. He shook it. Very powerful. While he's reading. Right in my eye. It's one of the most hysterical things ever. And it's every single time Rob does an endorsement. I couldn't see out of my right eye for another 30 seconds. He likes the spotlights on him. Yeah, that's right. Spotlights on him. Makes him concentrate more. P1JB? Yes. What's a P1? He wanted someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to the Mikey Show exclusively. That is correct. What were you calling about? I was just curious. Sky said the other day that Mr. Sky had to work late last night, so we know he didn't get to see the dress when she left. I was wondering what he thought of it when she got home last night. He thought... What is that? I don't know. I don't know. Was that thunder or was that noise in the building? Are they doing stuff in the building? Yeah. Okay. Weird. He thought it was sexy. He liked it. Really? Yeah. So he did see it? Yeah, when I got home last night. And he thought it was pretty sexy? Yeah. He didn't have any complaints? No, he didn't say anything. That his wife was wearing such a provocative dress? Oh. Well, he didn't use the word provocative. Really? He was just like, oh. Okay. Normal, average, everyday dress. He's like, oh, you look really nice. Hmm. Well, there you go. And then he wanted to do husband and wife stuff. All right. Well, let's go to line three then. Nice.
So he liked it. Mikey Show, who's this? P1 Chris. P1 Chris, what's up? Yeah, I had a question for Sky. Did Roman's wife ever show up? She was there the whole time. With Roman eating with you guys. Oh, no, she wasn't there eating. Oh, yeah. We lost her. We lost her. Yeah. Well, who would go on the veranda out of the master bathroom? Well, no, the way... that, you know, I saw it is they were both kind, there were like so many people there and they were hosting the event that they were both kind of, you know, working the crowd separately. I got another question. Did you meet her, Sky? No. No, you weren't able to get to meet her. Darn it! Shut up. Darn it all! Shut up. It's you. Nice to meet you, I'm sure. Oh, I would have loved to meet her, but no, I didn't get a chance. Charmed, I'm sure. Charmed, I'm sure. Pleasure's all yours. P1 DJ. Hey, Mike, you had a legitimate question for Sky? Yes, go ahead, please. Legitimate. Go ahead. I just wondered if she brought her standard charitable donation of a goat to the event website, or... They weren't asking us, sir. They were collecting money. That's a legitimate question. That's a great one. They were taking charitable donations, and we know in the past that you've given people goats. Actually...
Since it was Roman's charity, I donated a water buffalo. That's right. He is originally from... Cameroon. Yes, Cameroon. And so, to honor him, I brought a water buffalo on the back of a Dodge pickup truck. That's what I did. You guys figured me out. Or was it an F-150? I don't remember. But we brought a goat and a water buffalo. I own them all. It doesn't matter. That's right. Yeah. It's hard to get your hands on a wildebeest this time of year. I tried, though. I did. What a night, huh? It was fun. It was a great evening. Almost enchanted. That's right. I would say so. Well, I mean, the house alone, man. Yeah. If anybody wants to buy a $20 million mansion. Was it really 20 mil? Yeah. I mean, it's completely, like, furnished. I think it was, like, the model home of this fat development in Rancho Santa Fe, and it's now for sale, and it's, wow. Really? Impressive. A little small for my taste, but... Uh, no. Actually, opposite. It's a 20... If I wanted to downgrade... 20,000 square feet. Maybe a summer home or something. I mean, it's nice for, you know, cottage. Oh, my gosh. Servant's quarters. Yeah. If they added the helipad, I might take a look at it.
I'd have the attorney go out and take a look at it. But you've got to be able to land a chopper. What's the point? And as soon as we walked in, I thought, well, where would we put the Honky Kong? Our chopper. Take a helicopter ride in the Honky Kong 2. Could get rid of the gold pond, but why would I want to? I mean, then we wouldn't have a gold pond. Hello? Guys are so lame. Do you think it's time to hear Drama Queen? No. Oh, yes. Yes. Hey. Well, you haven't heard it yet today. Yeah. We haven't heard it, Sky. Awesome. How you doing? I'm feeling good, man. I'm feeling fresh. Oh, no. I'm feeling sexy, and I'm feeling honey baked. And a one, and a two, and a one, two, three, and I can dance. I am Sky.
I like interpretive jobs. Look at me. Can't you see? I am the drama queen. I'm not apologizing for my behavior because I was really sick. I was throwing up here. I went home. I was throwing up at home. Early morning and I'm on the show. Mispronouncing and in the flow. Man, I wish we played music. And I didn't. have to be having to read and speak. I had just been conversating. It's conversing. The guys are making me want to cry. Life was better when I was high. I don't know how I do it every single day. I really earn my pay. And if you didn't know, come on now. I am the drummer.
So true. Oh, my goodness. I feel a headache coming on. I'm starting to hyperventilate. You on Blaze? What's up, Blaze? Hey, how's it going, guys? Good. Okay, so I'm staying in a math class last night trying to take this test, and I couldn't get, I am a drama queen, out of my head. So, hey, thanks. You got it. Appreciate it. You got it. Gets in your head. It's hard to get out of your head. Yeah, I'm sure. It's pretty catchy. Good job, Sky. Mikey Show. This is D1 Brabbit.
What's up, dude? I'd just like to say that's one of the best dresses I've ever done. Like, it's hysterical. Thank you, brother. This email, the subject is Sky's dress. It says, I can't believe she would wear such a revealing dress. Has she no modesty? That's signed Jenna Jameson. Oh! Wow, that is from P1 Melissa, by the way. Listen, the dress is gorgeous. You can see it at MikeyShow.com. It is. There's no doubt about it. Oh, you're a hot toddy. I ain't going to lie. Thank you. But man. All you got to do is go to MikeyShow.com. It's M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. It's pictures of Skye with Roman Oban. I had on my mink. It wasn't a mink. You're so dumb. I'm surprised Peter wasn't there upset. There was no real fur in that jacket. Stop it. I thought De Niro as Jimmy Conway was going to go, take that thing off. Get that thing off of you. You know the feds are watching us for crying out loud. Get out of here. You know everybody's watching us right now. Get out of here, this guy wearing that thing. There wasn't mink, but there were a couple of puppies out. You're better than that. Not really. No, I don't think so. Not at all. And he's saying I'm not better than that. I'm not. Just being honest.
Maybe don't wear a bra next time. Don't worry. She did it. I was. There was no bra. She did it. I was wearing a bra. How dare you. Come on. I was wearing a bra. How dare you. I was. Your low-cut dress is on fire. I was wearing a bra. Skye has the 10 worst toy list. Not toilet. Toy. I know. I was like, I do? No, she has the 10 worst toy list. These are the dangerous toys for kids. Yes. Cocker Rockets, number 10. No. Well, there may be such things. Wow. Definitely not on the list. Captain Fingers be gone. Still funny. No. No. Come on, Skye. What's on there? Let's take a guess at what are the dangerous toys for kids. All right. I give up. No more cock-a-rocket jokes? You found it funny again. Come on. Check the list. See if cock-a-rockets are on there. No, they're not, Mike. Okay.
Okay, so we have... Aquadots. Aquadots should be on there. They poison people. They're pretty dangerous. Well, they've already been pulled off the shelves. Okay. Okay, we got Go Diego. So this is just the stuff that hasn't been pulled off the shelf because, you know, the poison Tylenol with cyanide was going to be my next guess as a toy that is not very popular right now, but we all know that's come down from the shelves. Go Diego, Go Animal Rescue Boat. What is that? It's a toy for children two and up. Potential for lead ingestion. Oh, God. Watch out for that. How is that out there, then? I don't know. Take it off the market. Well, everything is dangerous if you aren't careful with it. Like, every toy has a warning on it. That one, though? She said lead. Well, I know, but I'm, you know, most toys, they're... I've got an entire Lincoln log in my stomach. I'm so stupid. You're so stupid. I ate half the cabin. Stupid, stupid, and stupid. Give me a few minutes. You can take a look. So actually, this one was recalled due to the lead, but just a couple weeks ago. So they're saying people could have potentially bought this one already. Well, I'm wondering, where was Ashley going with that? She's like, I thought you were going to say, well, everything's got lead in it. No, but you're like, why isn't that off the shelves? Well, if you think about it, probably most toys.
can be really dangerous and probably have warnings on them. No, no, no. But most toys don't have lead in them. She said they had a recall that sucker. I understand. What else? Sticky stones. Potential for choking and internal injuries. I guess this toy involves powerful magnets that if swallowed, the magnets can stick together across intestines, causing serious infections and death. Oh my goodness. The prepackaged stones available to internet shoppers provide no such warning. What? Available. Dude, that is so creepy. Yeah, now that this list is making the rounds, yeah, probably some action will be taken on these toys. Sure. This one's a shock to me. I'll swallow them just to be able to take action. I smell a stunt. That's right. Hey, there you go, Robbie. This one's shocking. Jack Sparrow's spinning daggers. That's weird. That's dangerous? Yeah. That's crazy. I just make stuff up.
Potential for eye and other impact injuries. They're actual daggers. I guess ninja stars are next. Dora the Explorer lamp. Dora the Explorer nunchucks. Potential for electric shock and burns. Come on. Holy cow. Watch out. Little giddy-up horse. Potential for ingestion. For getting bucked in the face with the horse. It's an actual horse. Yeah, watch out for that. Spider-Man 3, new goblin sword. Again, potential for impact injuries. Let me tell you, every time I see swords for kids, I'm out. I don't care when they're plastic. They look dangerous. You take a little plastic sword and you jab somebody with it, it may not cut them up, but it's going to hurt. It's a sword. Hip Hoppa. Potential for head or other impact injuries. I thought it was like a drive-by toy. No, it's hip-hop-a-till-ya-drop-a is the catchphrase for their little toy. Got it. Be Looney's Party Pack. Potential for chemical ingestion and burns. That's a good one. Yeah, that sounds fun. Yeah. My Little Baby Born. What? For 12 months and older. Potential for choking injuries. What is it?
Let's see. Toddlers are encouraged to pamper this soft and cuddly doll just like a real baby. The small pink pacifier is attached to the baby's pajamas with only a ribbon. Once detached, the pacifier fails. Even the toys industry's inadequate small parts choke tube standard. And then finally, we have the rubber band shooter. Surprise, surprise. Potential for eye injuries. Yeah, shoot your eye out. Baby's first chemical eye wash was on the list, but they decided. All right, let's do this. Take a quick time out. And when we come back. Did you guys hear about Andy Garcia praising Sean Taylor? What? Yeah, the red skin safety that just got killed. I'll tell you why he's praising him. And when I tell you it's going to freak you out, you're going to be like, huh? Also, we will play a little Ashley Pyramid next. So call us right now if you want to play Ashley Pyramid 570-1053. It's just Ashley doing Pyramid like on TV.

But if you're here and you have a baby in America and you're using drugs, they'll take the baby away, won't they? Yeah.

I've gotten a couple other quotes from a couple different places, and AIS tells me that they can do this thing. I have a ticket that drops off in October, October 10th, and he gives me a quote without the ticket. And he tells me it's because AIS will give you, if it's within 30 days when it drops off, they will quote you without that point on your record, even though every other place quoted me. It saved me like $700 throughout the year. Really? Because he took the ticket off about 25 days before it actually comes off my record. No other place did it for me. You saved $700 by going to AIS. That's right. 1-800-777-4247. 1-800-777-4AIS is the phone number. Were you real happy you did it? I was very happy I did it. You've been hearing about me talk about AIS, right? Over and over again. And I never got it until I walked in there. You're a good person. 1-800-777-4AIS. I love you, Michael. 4247. Have a great day, guys. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. The Key Morning Show. Every single item on here, I'm like, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. KIOC San Diego. The Mikey Morning Show continues. Featuring Mikey. If it involves danger, I try to avoid it. Eddie. That's it. I'm a simple man. Sky. I'm an adult. Respect me. Sean. I invite everyone with just a little bit of enthusiasm. Boston Rob. I hate the Yankees. You know this. And Ashley.
The Mikey Show's on 105.3. Sean said that he and his wife ended up talking about Zeth and Ashley last night for how long, Sean? It was probably about an hour. What was it like? Like, what were you guys saying? Well, she had a lot of questions about motivations. For those of you that didn't get to hear it, yesterday, Zeth, who works... Under Ashley. Ashley is like his immediate superior. He finally kind of snapped. And they kind of got into it on the air. And we got into this whole conversation about, Ash, man, can't you take it easy on this guy? You kind of beat him up. And she was like, hey, listen. That's the way I came up in the business. And that's the way it is. And if he can't take the heat, he should get out of the kitchen. Blah, blah, blah.
And it was a pretty interesting exchange. So go ahead, Sean. So a lot of what we were discussing were motivations and expectations and realistic expectations. One of the things we talked about over and over was how Zeph has been shoved into a world that's very complicated. Radio is very complicated. It's nothing like what you think it is from a listener's perspective. Let me turn his mic on. Zeth, would you agree with that, or would you say no, or what do you think? Yeah, 100%. Okay. And there are a lot of things that we as radio people know as very basic, and someone like Zeth would have no knowledge of whatsoever. We were talking about if there's ever any dead air. I mean, your first instinct is to leap to the board and press any button you can to get any audio you can on the air. The layperson, that's not their instinct. Probably their instinct is to stand there and go, wow, there's no audio. Wow, someone's got to do something. Totally, yeah. I mean, you just wouldn't know. So we were talking about what is a realistic expectation with regard to Zeph and how hard should you be on him because he's coming from a world of no knowledge of radio. So, you know.
That's kind of it. I'm telling you, I got more emails on the subject than I have received in a long time. Oh, really? Yeah, and some of them were, you know, supporting Ashley and saying, you know, you guys have to realize that even though Ashley is yelling at Zeth, she is not necessarily a 20-year seasoned radio vet either, and so she's learning a lesson right now. Maybe. Maybe she got taught a lesson by it and she chills out on Zeth. She hasn't necessarily gone off on Zeth today. In fact, yesterday, after it happened, she was extraordinarily sweet and today called him babe. Honey. Honey. She reminds me a lot of Dabney Coleman in Tootsie. Random. Hmm.
Toots, do me for their baby. Sweet cheeks. Sweet cheeks. But he appears to like it. He appears to like to be called honey. And it all works out. I mean, who wouldn't? It makes you feel good. Oh, yeah. I think that we should do a little of this. Mikey Show now presents two singers battling it out in a contest we call Stand By For Creativity. Wow. Winner Plug All. Oh, God. Winner Plug All is where we have two people come into the studio and play acoustic guitar and sing an original song. Wow. Then we let the P1 text army text us who they like. The winner gets to plug themselves. And both of them have stuff to plug today, so this should be good. Now, they are separated by 10...
years these two and this is the first time that we have ever had a female competing on winner plug all that's cool that's right so first up is uh p1 john it's john domingo let's get john in here right now john should be josh it's josh yeah josh josh domingo oh that's my bad it's all right all right josh domingo uh he's 23 years old And the guy was born in Maine, but he lived in San Jose and now lives in San Diego. So I wonder if he is familiar with the Mikey show when it was out in San Jose. There it is. There you said KSJO. There you go. So how are you, Josh? I'm doing good. How are you? Good, man. Good to see you. Good to see you, man. Only 23 years old. Yeah.
And this is kind of cool, man. You've been playing piano since you were four years old. Well, banging, but yeah. No, but yeah, I took the lessons. I quit because I thought it was kind of dorky. So you don't play piano now? No, I do now, but not very often because it's hard to carry a grand piano to all the venues. No, I get you. Really? I get you. He's been writing music and singing since he was 16 years old. And it says here that most of your songs are about breakups. That's correct. Or they're about having, just in general, just kind of a basic love for Skye's dress. That's it. So it's one of the two things. I started writing most of my songs this morning. Inspired by Skye's dress. In other words, you saw the dress that she wore to the Roman Oban charity event. Hey, everyone, stop. It inspired you, as it did all of us. All of us. Can we focus here, please? There you go. The guys that you like.
Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, John Mayer. Oh, I like you already. Oh, see? And you know what? I got to say this. Ashley's amazing out there. She is working so hard. I was just like, wow, she's totally ignoring us. It was awesome. I loved it. I wanted to talk to her so bad, but I was so scared because she's so busy. That's right. She's hardcore. That's right. Josh, what are you going to sing? What song are you going to sing? This song is called Pocket Change. This is kind of my life story, I guess, up until now. It's a lot of people's requests. if you will. They like this one. And tell me about the song. What did you write it about? Well, I had a, it's kind of, like I said, my life story. I moved to San Diego after kind of a bad breakup and just kind of started playing music. How old were you? I was 18, 19. It was like my first love type of thing. So it's always that hard one that you never really get over. So it was that one. And then also I came to go to college, had a little soccer scholarship, and just kind of ended up tearing up my knee. And I had to start doing music because I didn't want to work the rest of my life. So here you were in San Diego. You came out here. You had your heart broken. Yeah. And you were thinking about this girl. Yeah. Can you say a first name? What was the girl's name? Her name was Cassie. Okay.
Yeah. That's important for people. See, when you get a picture of what's going on. Yeah, well, see, and the idea is when you hear the song, it's kind of a story. I'm really influenced by Jim Croce a lot as well because a lot of storytelling that goes into music. And it kind of tells a story, you know, about kind of me and where I was at. And I was basically sitting on a bus stop and just decided to start writing a song. All right, so it's winner plug all. After your text votes. We'll see who wins, and whoever wins gets to plug something that they're going to be doing or whatever. So first up is Josh. He's 23, and he's going to be singing his song, Pocket Change. Go ahead. Second Street and Broadway, there's a little bus stop. It's an ordinary downtown of a city just around the block. Jay picks up his sixth string, and he starts to sing the blues. Plays the king, a little bit of old school, and a couple of new ones, too. Seen back where he's from, there's a girl that broke his heart. That blonde hair and giggle just tore that boy apart. So he traveled to the city where he flat out disappeared. Second Street and Broadway in a town not far from near. And he sings a song that he wrote for her, even though she's miles and miles away. He dreams when you're close, yeah, cause oh, how time has changed. Then he switches to a minor key.
My memory won't fade away Now he's 12 cents short of a bus ride home Playing for your pocket change You could toss him a nickel, a dime, or even drop a five He don't care, he's nowhere near there, he's mine's on auto drive And he's singing at that time when she held that baby cat And he sneezed the whole way home But he didn't seem to mind that Praying one day maybe she'd love him again But he noticed your bucket nods and flashes you a smug grin. The bus pulls up and no one moves cause no one wants to leave. The night's young and he's doing pretty good, pretty much everyone's agreed. And he sings a song that he wrote for her, even though she's miles and miles away. Needs dreams to win her clothes, yeah, cause oh how time has changed. Then he switches to a minor key.
The memory won't fade away. Twelve cents short of a bus ride home. Playing for your pocket change. A couple hours later, and J.J. shakes his head. The needle was twelve cents, but he's holding eighteen dollars instead. You know everyone likes it when they start to sing along. All because of love he had. The end is so wrong. And he sings a song that he wrote for her. Even though she's a million miles away. And he dreams when he held her closure. Cause oh how time has changed. Then he flips it to a minor key. But a memory won't fade away. Twelve cents short of a bus ride home. Plan for your pocket change. Hi. Oh my gosh. Get out of here. Thank you guys. Thank you. Wow.
You guys are so sweet. Listen, man. Wow. To me, honestly, that was like we had a professional recording artist that came in to sing a song. Oh, yeah. As if we had John Mayer. It was like watching Sky and Ashley's face while that song was going on was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. See, I always have the same routine. When I'm listening to music, when people come in here, I always am just staring at the board because I just want to be in my own head and listen to it. So I didn't see any expressions. They were swooning. Swooning? So good. So good. Well, listen, man. I mean, that's as good as... That's good, man. As good as anything on the radio when we had the person come in and sing it. That's good stuff, man. Oh, well, you guys can be anytime then if you want. Whatever. I've got love songs for the ladies, too. So, yeah. Oh, I'm in. All right. Thank you, Josh. Thank you. That was Josh. And now we're going to have Regina Leonard come in here. Now, Regina is 33. She's originally from North Carolina. She lives out here in San Diego now. She's a black gal. And I said... I looked into the room. I go, she looks like a hippie. I think we're going to get some Joan Baez. We're going to get some Joan Baez stuff. I'm going to be interested to see what it's all about. Originally from North Carolina, lives out here in San Diego now, and she's been singing about four years, writing songs for about, or excuse me, singing for about seven years. Is that right? Yeah. Singing for about seven years, and you've been writing songs for about four years. Yes. Now, did you get an opportunity to hear Josh? Yes, I did. Tough competition today. I got to bring my A game. Tough competition today.
started singing after your husband died. Now, you were married for only a year. Tell me the story a little bit. Oh, wow. I didn't know I was going to have to do that. Well, I grew up in a really kind of kooky religion, and they get married really young, so I did that because that's what I was supposed to do. And so we were married for a year and a half, and he was battling depression and some other issues, and so he took his life a year and a half after we were married. That kind of just made me go, like, what the heck is going on here? Now, you say it was a religion where you were kind of encouraged to get married real young. Yeah. But it wasn't like it was an arranged marriage or anything. No, no, no, no. So you were in love with it. Yeah, I was just right out of high school and, like, you know, just didn't really know what I was doing and, you know, married the first guy that I ever dated. So it was really intense. And so... And when that happened, it made me realize that I didn't want to be in this religion and that I'd always been a really artistic person and to just go ahead and pursue it. So the stuff that you were into, the blues, Motown, it says, so you're into that. And do you have any specific artists that you were into growing up? Who are some of your favorite recording artists? I grew up listening to Roberta Flack and Aretha Franklin, my mom, even though she...
I'm actually mixed. I heard you say she's a black chick. I thought that was funny. I'm actually mixed. Thank you very much. So what is it? Tell me what the mix is. But my mom was this white lady who had all these like James Brown and Roberta Flack and, you know, Temptations. And so I would literally like lay on the floor. What's the mix? Oh, black and white. Yeah. Yeah. So you got half of it, right? I was half of it. So what are you going to sing? I'm going to sing a blues song that I wrote called Hammer and Nail. And it ain't about carpentry work. Can you tell me about it? Yeah, I used to do construction work, actually. And I had a hammer laying on the floor one day, and I was like, I'm going to write a song called Hammer and Nail. Because I like a man that can, you know, swing a hammer and wear a tool belt. There you go. All right, this is Regina Leonard, and the song is called Hammer and Nail. Go ahead. All right. Look here, baby, we're going to tell a little story. Come on, baby, break out your tools. We got some building to do. I want you so much. Let me show you how to love a woman. Come on, come on. Oh, come on, baby. Be my, my hammer. I'll be your nail, yeah. I'm missing the point of this here living, yeah. You know sometimes I get like that, baby. Please bring me back. Oh, you light me up. Baby, you light me up like a wood match. Oh, come on.
Regina, you have a beautiful voice. Thank you. Beautiful voice. Thank you. Oh, can they both win? I'm telling you. You got a really good voice. I love it. I love the sound of your voice. There's some voices that I just hear and I'm just, there's a tone in it that I really like. Yeah. And that was great. I'm really excited to be the first girl. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It did great. Gosh, and they're both so different. All right, so here's what we're going to do. The way that you vote is you do it through the P1 text army. We take a break, we come back, and the winner gets to plug whatever they want to plug. Now, this is how you do it.
You text A, just the letter A, to 35253 if you want to vote for Josh, the first guy. And if you want to vote for Regina, the gal that you just heard, you text B, the letter B, to 35253. So this was a guy versus a girl. Josh is the letter A to 35253. Regina, the beautiful voice that you just heard, you text B. to 35253. We take a break and come back and tell you who the winner is. For complete schedule information, visit sharp.com. You're still looking at just a mess of a commute here this morning. Too many accidents to just mention, just slow rides in all our freeways. Out of the South Bay, both the 5 and 805 northbound, struggling at a Chula Vista all the way up. The 805 stays with the brake lights in towards Governor Drive and Golden Triangle. Northbound 5 suffers through downtown into past the airport in the Mission Bay. Westbound 7 of the 94, that's no different. Solid brake lights from Lemon Grove Avenue all the way to downtown. Westbound 8, that's not a fun freeway. That's still heavy. From Mollison Avenue in the Cajon Valley, it stretches with the brake lights all the way towards Hotel Circle. What a mess. South 15, slow and go from the 78 in Escondido, rather. Slows over Lake Hodges through Rancho Bernardo, Poway, all the way down to the 163. Split and the coaster rides. Southbound 5. Brake lights here as well from Palomar Airport Road to the racetrack. Actually, to Carmel Valley now as you're coming down that shoreline. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. What is your name, please? Brittany. Brittany, how are you? I'm good. How are you? I'm good. I just wanted to call and tell you about my AIS story. I called AIS, and I was paying $14.25 every six months for my audio insurance, and now they have me at $337 every six months.
So they saved me a little over $2,000 a year. And also, I didn't even have to go in to take pictures of my car. He faxed me all the information. I signed it, faxed it back, and it was done. I did that, too. That's awesome. $2,000, she said. The phone number is 1-800-777-4AIS. This girl's story could be your story. Why would you pay more if you don't have to? You got a good driving record or a bad driving record? No. I have a DUI five years ago. I just got a speeding ticket. I got a speeding ticket two years ago, and then I just got a ticket for running a red light. So there you go. 1-800-777-4AIS. Thank you, Brittany. Thank you. Bye. Don't freak out. No. No. This is good. Oh. Oh, it is good. Red Sox. Now talking trade with the twins for Johan Santana. Yeah. They don't want the Yankees to have one.
Did you hear who they're talking to? Coco Crisp, John Lester, a couple of prospects, which I'm fine. Sounds good to me. I would do that in a heartbeat. Beckett Santana. That's not fair. Well, they don't want the Yankees to have him, Mike. But that's not fair. That's how the Yankees operated for many years. The Red Sox are the new evil empire. We're Red Sox nation. You're an evil conglomerate. Not evil. Remember? You got Josh Beckett and Johan Santana. It doesn't make us evil. That's not fair. Theo likes to spend money. Alright. Theo. Yeah, Theo. Theo. How sweet would that be, though? Welcome back. It's a Mikey show. We have the results for winner plugs all. Oh, they're both so good. When I announce a winner, that person will be allowed to come in and plug whatever they have going on. One...
Of our contestants received 84.1% of the vote. Wow, really? One of our contestants received 15.9% of the vote. The person that received the 84.1% of the vote, Josh. I want to point out, Regina was fantastic. Yeah, really was. Listen, what I'm going to do in the future is that... If I have something good to say, I'll say it. If I don't, I don't have to say anything. But in regard to Regina, she's a talented person. She's really good. Her voice was phenomenal. Josh, you were a favorite. People really liked you. And you won. Winner plugs all. Tell me what you would like to let everybody know. You know, I could talk about my MySpace. You can go to Josh D'Amigo, D-A-M-I-G-O. Or I could talk about my show tonight with Bushwalla, Jason Mraz over at...
Mueller College here in San Diego. Are you opening up for them? Jason might not show. He sometimes shows up to Bush Wallace's show. It'll be a good one. It's tonight. You guys are all invited. Ashley, you're definitely invited. Hello. Here we go again. Here we go again. You guys are all invited. If you look on my MySpace page, we've got a bunch of San Diego musicians. We're trying to build up the scene again. We've got a ton of of good guys that are on my page. And Martin Starro is playing next week. And we're really trying to push his show to show everyone just kind of the talent we have here in San Diego. Well, you won, dude, so you get to do whatever you want. Cool. Well, then I'll plug all those. You plug all. By the way, our program director wrote me an email. Oh, yeah? And it says, this guy is amazing. I want to be his manager. Tell her I said, what's up? That's right. Only 12%. December 29th is my birthday show. You guys are invited out too as well. I'm trying to get John Foreman on it from Switchfoot, the lead singer. He went from 500 people in his MySpace to 9,000 in whatever. He's going solo. Is he really? Yeah, he's doing a solo thing. He's really, really good. Don't put any rumors out there. Switchfoot's not done, right? No, they're not done. He's just going to do his own. He's on my top eight as well.
There you go. Which you all can be if you add me. So where's your birthday show? Birthday show is at Lestat's Coffee House, 3343 Adams Avenue. Tonight's show, if you want to come, $10. We'll get you to see a lot of people. Eric Masick from L.A. He's really good. The Make Peace Brothers, they're stinking phenomenal. Winter plugs all, not winter plugs an hour, so be careful. I got you. I'm trying to think of Katie Christine. It'll be a good show tonight, and that's at... 4601 Park Boulevard. Josh, you're a talented guy, man. Thank you very much, guys. Thank you very much, man. I really appreciate it. Let's go see him tonight. He's playing a show tonight. And he likes Ashley. Yes. Good luck with that. That is true. Really? Who doesn't at this point? She's a beautiful girl. I'm sorry. There's no way. He's a very handsome kid. He would need to be seven inches taller. There's no doubt about it. If he had his personality with Zeth's height. Oh, man. Well, they'd already be married. Ash and him would already be married. He's 5'11". He's not 5'11". Stand next. I would say there's no way. Ashley's like, I'm taller than him.
Yeah, no. I would say 5'11 minus 4. 5'7 and a quarter. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. No, you make a great couple. It's just I know how she is, dude. I'm sorry. What does that mean? Well, when it comes to height, you know, you have a requirement. You have a requirement. I really don't, though. My last boyfriend was 5'11. I dated a guy that was 5'10 once. What does he seem like, Eddie? He seems like he's got his life a little bit too together. Too nice of a guy. You know what I mean, Ash? Ash has a cardboard cutout of herself and it says, you must be this tall to date me. But that's not true because my last boyfriend was 5'11". You must be this dysfunctional to date me. All I said was, you have a height thing. I think that for you to date a guy, he has to be no shorter than. I didn't say he has to be as tall as. He cannot be shorter than. I don't think that you would date. I don't know what it is. But my last boyfriend was the same height. But he made up for it in craziness. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hang on. 5'11 is not short. He just said he was 5'11. He is not 5'11. You're taller than him. You're taller than him. I would be taller than Nick when I was wearing heels. Oh, you're wearing heels? Yeah, wearing pumps. How tall are you, Ashley? 5'7 and a half.
That guy that was just standing there is not 5'11". No way. I'm 5'11". Yeah. He's not. Eddie is at least... I thought he was six foot. I'm six feet, but I mean, basically he's 5'11". Eddie is at least three, four inches taller than that guy. Yeah, me too. There we go. Well, you know what? Let's just ask you, Ash. What did you think? I mean, definitely your time physically in terms of height? I was definitely intrigued. actually. Really? The height didn't have anything to do with it? He was sitting down when I talked to him. I'm talking about when he was standing up. What? Did he meet your height requirement or was he too short for you? Oh, man. Look at her face. She's not answering quickly. It would just be one of those things where if his personality or his other things would win me over, and then I'd be in. I'm not the type of girl that has that really strict rule. You can get me. You just have to be able to charm me. Who is the shortest guy? What is the shortest height you've ever dated? 5'10". There you go.
I mean, 5'10 is not short, Ashley. I think it is. See what I mean? You see what I mean? That's ridiculous. Only because I'm 5'7 and a half, you know, and then I wear heels sometimes. Exactly. So for me, it's a little tough. So you'd go to Bogart Yogurt with Josh and then see where it went from there. Maybe? No, he's too short. But I don't really know. I don't know. I don't think I'll ever talk to him again, so it doesn't matter. Skye. She's throwing it out there. She knows he's listening. I'm sure he'll be getting in touch. Skye. What up? You know that dude was too short for Ashley. I don't know. I think that... Ashley knows it. She's got a big grin on her face. Well, no. Based on appearance, yes. But I think there's probably some qualities about him that can compensate for that. That could absolutely compensate for that. Like his talent. A mini-mini. And he was very conversational, very sweet. He was very... He was dressed very well. It's not like he was Rob short, you know. No. That's a whole different kind of short. Where am I? You guys would have been together two years by now. Let's not go back there, please. We're moving past it. I really don't think it's a good idea to get involved with someone that you are on the same show with. That is catastrophic. If that had been the case, Rob and I would already be together for two years.
Well, clearly his other amazing qualities overcompensate for his little figure. Overgot? His little figure. Whatever. Tomato, tomato. He's petite. I like this. He's petite. A mini mini. Keeping it petite. That sounded hard. Yes, please save that clip of him saying keep it petite. This was kind of an interesting thing from Time Magazine. They just did this story about people that are kind of upset and fighting for the right to dry their laundry on a clothesline. Now, the reason is because HOAs won't let you do it. Right. They think it's an eyesore. Yeah, it'll bring down the property values in the neighborhood. Personally, if you're doing that in your backyard, If we were taking a vote in my HOA, I would vote for, if it's in your backyard, I don't have a problem with it. All of Santee just gasped. Yeah. But you can see it from, you know, the second story of your house. I honestly, I don't feel like clotheslines. I sort of think of them as something that's all American. Yeah, I like it. It makes me think of like the South. Yeah, I don't have an adverse reaction to it.
I understand intellectually, I understand how some people in an HOA would be like, no, that's... Yeah, you're trying to sell your house, somebody's walking around the second story, and they see your neighbor's fundies hanging out in the backyard. Mike, if I may, please. Oh, Josh, I'm not... Of course you don't let people have poor white trash clotheslines in their backyard. Nobody said that. It's better for the environment. What is this, Alabama? What's next? Are we going to let Mexicans in our neighborhood? Don't even say it. Don't even say it. How dare you? Well, the two are synonymous, Eddie. Mexicans and drying your clothes outdoors. What, are you going to wash it on a rug? What's next? It's okay if they're in the neighborhood, just as long as they're cutting the lawn. Yes, yes. Yes, but I mean, yeah, you're going to let those old-fashioned washing machines back in. You're going to be scrubbing your t-shirts against rocks. Whatever. Throwing them out to dry. Stop it. So there's actually currently three states that don't allow homeowners associations to have that rule in place. So what do you think, Sky? And that's Florida, Hawaii, and Utah. Wow. I'm moving to Provo.
I mean, it's tough because I do see it as an eyesore. I did once have neighbors that did this, but they were like really... No, this was up in the Bay Area, and they were, you know... Black. No, they were white, but they had stuff going on. So I do see how it can be an eyesore, but it's better for the environment, and I think they should be allowed to have their, you know. So we shamed you out of your true feelings. The Mikey Show. Oh, yes! Folks, I'll just take a few questions, then I need to get back to the kitchen. Todd, The Daily Napkin, huge night here at Rubio's. As manager, how much of tonight's success do you attribute to putting enchiladas in the lineup? Well, I think it's obvious that the enchiladas make us stronger. They've elevated our roster, and they're going to be a go-to dish. Todd, fork and knife news. Could you tell us more specifically what these enchiladas bring to the table? Well, the char-grilled chicken, slow-roasted carnitas, and two-cheese enchiladas all have their own strengths. But I think the magic for each of them is in the sauce. Fire-roasted tomatoes, toasted chiles, garlic, onions, spices. It's a powerful combination. Yeah, Todd, flavor illustrated. You just used the words powerful and magic to describe the sauce. Todd, is the sauce really juice? Huh?
Are these enchiladas juiced tonight? How is it possible that they're this good time? They are pretty yummy time. For a limited time, enchiladas are back at Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill. Four delicious choices, two per plate. With Rubio's Fire Roasted Sauce, they're way beyond ordinary. And they're only at Rubio's. It's the Jeep event of a lifetime. And we're getting the word out. Not all milk in California is actually from California.
Only way to know for sure is if it has the real California milk seal. Now, what percentage of California's milk comes from out of state? Okay, I thought all California's milk was local. Not quite, but we can give you a hint. The number is less than a million. Go! Gosh, I really thought all of my milk was from California. I'm going with my gut. I'm saying 0% comes from out of state. Oh, the correct answer was 20. 20% of California's milk is trucked in from who knows where. But you're not going home empty-handed. Chuck, tell her what she's won. Real California milk. Is this Rebecca? Yes, it is. I understand that you went to sleep train. Yes, I did. What happened? Well, my husband and I went back last May. We just got married, so we bought our new mattress. We got a really good deal on it. They threw in free sheets and pillows because we said we heard about it through you. And they also gave us the free mattress protector, so it was really cool.
And I referred my mom to go there because she is buying a bed for my grandmother just this last week. And she went to the Cardi Mesa store, and they actually beat the price on a Costco mattress. My sleep tank was selling it for, I think, around $1,000, and then the Costco price was like $500-something. So they beat that, which is awesome. They just won Best Mattress Store, and there's a reason for it. They're really good. The prices are great, and if you're getting one of these good name brand mattresses, or no matter what you're looking for, they're great. How is that mattress in terms of being comfortable? It's awesome. I can't get out of bed in the morning. It's really comfortable. That is good stuff. Thank you. You got it. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. We'll be right back.

Now that's holiday cheer, since now happens to be the best time to get yourself a BMW. Sing along with the legendary 328i, the Agile X5, or even a heavenly 528i. It's the one holiday song you'll sing all year long. BMW.
The ultimate driving machine. Place a new 2008-328-I for $359 a month for 36 months with $32.59. Do it signing through November 30th. Visit your San Diego County BMW Center today or call 1-888-311-4BMW for details. Now here's something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show. For those of you that don't know, Roman Oban is a left tackle for the San Diego Chargers. He's come into the studio before when he did very instant. fun chemistry between he and Skye, and he invited her to an event that he was having. The event was a charity event. So who did you take? I took my girlfriend, Michelle. Michelle, could you run and grab me some more punch? Yes, punch. They were serving punch.
at this charity event in a $20 million mansion. Could you do me a favor? Punch. Run back to Chula Vista and if you could get me a Q-tip, thank you. A Q-tip. Anything, just beat it. Get out. Stop it. Leave us alone. Hello, third wheel. Got something to do over here? The Mikey Show continues. I'm on the rock. Why'd you have to go? Me now. It's a Mikey show. It is 9 o'clock. Brad Pitt has announced that he will no longer do nude scenes to save his children from embarrassment. Cowboys beat the Packers 37-27 last night. Brett Favre, though, injures his elbow and separates his shoulder. This guy has a list of the 10 most shocking Hollywood secrets. And, by the way, I just want to give a shout-out to Hamishaw Grill in El Cajon. They were very cool and supplied.
food for the Mikey Show today because we had a couple of winners come in and hang out in the studio with us today. Delicious. Yeah. They actually have apple butter. I don't know, Skye, have you ever heard of apple butter? Hey. Hey. Well, I don't know if she's ever heard of it. I know she's heard of it. Have you ever tried it? Yeah, have you ever tried it? They brought the apple butter. I know. It's just a question. Have you ever tried it? I'm gonna. Have you ever had it? How do you know you don't like it if you've never tried it? You know that's your hot spot. Maybe she doesn't know how it's made. I'm going to... Stop it. Hey. It's going to make her mean to you for no reason. Oh, man. She can relate to that. Damn it! Oh, man. You're getting away with murder. I know it. She's not hearing anything today. I'm getting away with murder, guys. What? Nothing? I mean, I don't comment on... Never mind. Never mind. What? P1Charles, P1Jen both came into the studio. I'm in trouble.
Ash, can you hear me? I heard her. Ash. I didn't mean it in a mean way. Ash. You just said that I'd be mean to people for no reason. No, because it was the day that you admitted that you were mean to your husband for no reason. Just say, no, it's cool. It's cool. I'm going to duck. I'm out. No, it's cool. It's cool. Ash, can you hear me? It's cool, everybody. Sorry. Ash. I know she was just doing a recall to something that was said previously on the show. It's cool. We're all friends today. It's Friday. Bye. Bye. Why don't you guys talk it out? No, it's cool. No, it's no big deal. It's nothing. So the most shocking Hollywood moments. Okay, let's get to that. Let's do the most shocking Hollywood moments. Thank you, Hammershaw Grill and Alcohol. It's great food. It really is good food. They brought in some good breakfast stuff. Okay, I don't know. You've got to give me an example of what a shocking Hollywood moment is.
Number 10 on the list, Reese Witherspoon's brother was arrested for sexual battery. He was? Yeah, like lots of this has to do with celebrities. Do we know any of this stuff? No. No, no. I believe we know. No, Mike, you wouldn't know any of this stuff. Great list. I'd say you know 85% of this stuff. How about Angelina Jolie Frenching her brother at the Academy Awards? No, but that's a good one. It should be on there. That should be. I'm just being gay. That hasn't been proved, Eddie. Oops. Nobody says I'm gay. Wait, why? That was Tom Cruise on South Park in the closet. Oh, okay. I'm not coming out. Tom Cruise, please come out of the closet. No, I want to come out. Shocking moment. Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch. Oh, no, no. I'm sorry. It's 10 most shocking Hollywood secrets, not moments. Hollywood secrets. Tom Cruise being gay. Is that on there, Skye? No.
These are secrets that have been revealed. Not secrets that are still secrets. M. Night Shyamalan being Indian. That's never been a secret. That was not a secret? Or proven. Secret. Woody Allen and his daughter, his adopted daughter. It wasn't a secret. Well, not anymore. Would that qualify? I don't know. It could. I'm assuming that these are secrets that we now know about. Is that correct or no? Yeah. Or is the point, hey guys, you've never heard of this stuff. These are secrets that are no longer secrets. Okay. Jerry Lee Lewis marrying his 13-year-old cousin, which is true. Ew. That's true. That wasn't on there? No. These are like relevant stars today. Ashley saying that she would have been with Rob two years ago. Shocking. That's a shocking secret revealed.
I really don't think it's a good idea to get involved with someone that you are on the same show with. That is catastrophic. If that had been the case, Rob and I would already be together for two years. That was a big one. Number one. Do you want to maybe hear number nine? How about Jolie-Pitt relationship? No. Okay, this has been fun. Bobby Intharoska and Harry Conlon. Their relationship. They're together. That is a secret. I didn't know. It's weird. Because one's in Rochester and the other one's in San Jose. That's why it was so tough. It was a really tough one. Gary Schoenwetter and Lori Roberts. What about that secret? That was a big time secret hidden for a long time. Especially big considering Lori. Uncle Frank and Aunt Fran. Sean, that's my friend, you jerk ass. Not cool. Think of all the people that would be upset here in San Diego. I don't know, Sky. Give them to me. Number nine, Gavin Rosdale having a secret love child. Didn't know. So these are legitimate secrets we never knew. Well, I read that. You did? Like, maybe...
four years ago. On the bathroom wall. Before him and Gwen got married. It was on a stall. No, it was not. It was in the... That is Chevron. Okay. Number eight, Michelle Williams' dad being brought up on tax evasion charges. I remember that. I do remember that. Woody Harrelson's dad was a convicted hit man. Do not know that. Number seven. Did not know that. Yeah. Number six, Sarah Evans claimed her husband had kinky desires when they were going through their divorce and pointing fingers. Do you remember that, Eddie? Kind of. Yeah. Number five. What is that, Sean? Is the list not, it doesn't hold your attention? Boy, it's scintillating. Number five, Tobey Maguire's dad was a bank robber. What? It was Spider-Man. And it was his uncle, and he was the victim of the bank robber. This guy, you can't confuse real life with movies. Well, then she gets it all messed up. She's like, how about Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger hooking up? It's Uncle Ben. Number four, Orlando Bloom didn't know who his real dad was. Well, who does, really? I mean, come on here. 85%? Number three, Halle Berry's dad was abusive. All right. I've never heard of any of this. Yeah, well, I...
That's a deal. That's why I was asking her, is this legitimate secrets that we don't know about? No, this is common knowledge. We talk about it every day. The Halle Berry, the Sarah Evans, the Michelle Williams, the Woody Harrelson, and the Gavin Rosdale stuff has all been stuff that I... Woody Harrelson's dad was a hitman. Not that he was a hitman, but that he was in jail. Yeah, I've heard that. So, whatever. Oh yeah, two and two, Eddie. Thank you, Eddie. Number two, Charlize Theron's mom killed her dad. Now that was a movie too. It was called Monster. She was a lesbian. And she was the killer of the Johns. Exactly. And then finally number one. You're a disaster. Finally number one. Number one. Nicole Richie's real dad was in Lionel Richie's band. Yeah we know that.
That was so good. That was the list. P1 Debra's on the line. Debra, go ahead. What about George Takai being gay? What about it? That's a good one. Not much of a secret. It's not really a secret being that I'm wearing a white t-shirt that has black letters that says, I'm gay. Not to mention the rollerblades. Right. Why do you always have those on? Because they're comfortable. But it's raining outside. They're not really rollerblades. They're like Nike tennis shoes with wheels underneath them. Those are made for, like, children. Right? They're for little kids. It is not skating weather today, though. No, Takai. So I will put on my French made boots. Oops. French made boots. Yes, they're vinyl. And I have to put talcum powder on my legs to pull them up. Hey. Cornstarch. Hey. I put cornstarch on my legs. We got you, didn't we? Well, I wasn't expecting cornstarch. No, I wasn't. I put cornstarch on my legs. Come on. Enough. Yes, Captain. That's Eddie. That's not Captain. And they come with these sexy garters. They are pretty sexy. But you can see I've got on the...
Little tennies, and then I've got on these cut-off wranglers. Cut-off again. Cut-off wranglers. All right. Now, what you do is you draw a line on the wranglers with chalk. Chalk? What's chalk? You take a white chalk and you... Chalk. Are you saying chalk? Are you saying chalk? Yes. You're saying chalk. Like you're adding a U. Yeah. You know what I mean. Well, I do, but you should say it properly. It's chalk. Chalk. No. Hey, don't let them pressure you, Takai. You say it the way you want. You know what I'm saying. This is America. It doesn't have anything to do. So you take the chalk and you make a line of where you want it, where the jeans should come up to. Right? Then you cut them. Why are we talking about this? I don't even understand what's the point. I'll tell you. 85% of Americans don't know how to make sexy cutoffs.
First of all, that's a fake stat. Not a fake stat. Where did you get this statistic? They told me. Who's that? They.com. Okay. Then you put them in the washing machine and dry them and little strings hang down. Pretty sexy. Okay. Well, thank you for that, George Sky. Then I've got on the pink tank top. I thought you had a white shirt that says I'm gay on it. That's the over shirt. Oh, you have something under there. The undershirt is a pink tanky. Why do you have that? The tanky? Why do you call it a tanky? Because that's the section it's sold in. The tanky section. But why am I wearing it? Duh, it's pretty. You're right. That really rain... Yeah, but you may be a little cold, but okay. You need your rubbers. Hey, hey, hey. Careful, huh? Bro. Anyway, got to get back to they.com. Oh. It's actually theygay.com. Oh. I didn't know they had two different sites. The offshoot. Did you notice that over all of it, I'm wearing a nude-colored camisole? I didn't notice that. You didn't?
No. That's because it's nude color. Right. You can't see it. Really? Silly. That's George Takaya. He's so weird. He really is. I'm so glad when he stops by. He is so weird. I mean, it's fun, but he's weird. He really is. I like him. Skye has another list. No, I don't. What list do I have now? Now she's got the highest paid actress list. This one's easy. For, like, this year? Yes. Isn't it still Reese Witherspoon? Yes, Reese Witherspoon. She's real good. She commands a pretty penny. Yep. Around $20 million per film. Catherine Hepburn. Yes. No, actually. Not on the list, Eddie. No, not anymore. Oh, my gosh. No, we've had to retire that voice. Where have you been? Well, I've been away since the voice was taken over by you-know-who. Can't really do a voice that sounds like this if someone else is using it. Wait, what are you trying to... It's very similar to somebody... I can't put my finger on it. Sky! Hey, I don't sound like that. I don't sound like that Catherine Hepburn.
You had Julia Guglia on that list? Mm-hmm. You know who I'm talking about. Julia Guglia. Yeah. From The Wedding Singer? Nah. Julia Roberts. Julia Roberts. She hasn't done a movie in so long, though. Fight about it. Isn't she in that movie? She's in the Tom Hanks movie. Yeah. But... Been a long time. I meant like five minutes. Ashley is correct. She is not in the top four, no. You're still wrong. In your face. You're still wrong. I'm right. You're wrong. Love it. Who am I missing? God, that thinks you're a jerk. Angelina Jolie. Angelina Jolie. Yes, Angelina Jolie was very close. Are you the P1 talking? Oh, Sean. Uh-oh. Oh, no. I'm out. Come on, man. Come on, Sean. She's been pretty good. You got a figure, right? Enough with it already. Yeah, but she's literally said anything, Sean. She was blabbing her ass off earlier. What are you doing? And now she's like jumping all over this bitch. Oh, my God.
That's a hot button for Sean. It's a hot button for him. Hi, Sean. Don't do that, sweetie. How's the weather up there? Just take over the whole freaking show. No, you should. You're doing it anyway, so why not? Have at it. Angelina Jolie came in number two, very close behind Reese Witherspoon, but with Beowulf, she was only paid $8 million, so that brought her average down. Cameron Diaz. Cameron is number three. Wow. About 15 million. Matthew McConaughey. Do you pay any more? No. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Here we go. Matt Damon. Carrie Fisher. Oh. Yeah, is Carrie Fisher on the list? No. Renee Zellweger. Diane Keaton. Yeah. You guys are just missing number four. Meg Ryan. No. Talia Shire. Kate Blanchett. Yeah. No? What about... Who, Eddie? What about who? Vicki Lawrence. Vicki Lawrence. Yeah. Yes, guys. Vicki Lawrence. Halle Berry. Number four. Number four. Oh, dude. Please. Jessica Tandy. Kate Hudson. She's still earning a heck of a living.
Not Jennifer Aniston. You stupid. Sandra Bernhard. Sandra Bullock. Sandra Day O'Connor. Kim Basinger. Kim Leeds. Sean, help me out. Kim Leeds. You're terrible. That made me terrible. I think you're terrible. You're a bad person. Oh, I got it. Who? Natalie Portman. Oh. Yes. Yes. No. Sarah Michelle Gellar. Oh, yeah. Tara Reid. Tara Bull. Tara Fawcett. No. Tara Fawcett Majors. Hey, how about that First Lady of Hollywood? Yeah, her. Rachel McAdams. Tom Cruise's wife. Carol O'Connor. Katie Hollams. Ross McGowan's wife. Nicole Kidman.
There it is, Eddie, number four. Nicole Kidman. What now, Ashley? Gets between 10 and 15. What now? What now? What you got? What you got? What you got? What you got? What you got? Where you at now? Where you at, big man? Come on, Pac-Man. Yeah, Ashley, you weren't in here. Good job? Yeah, Ashley, you weren't in here. Wait, what's that? Oh, you think you're so smart with the list, but you can't. Wait. What'd you... I didn't hear you. You didn't hear me what? I didn't hear you trying to... Zed, speak up. Insult me. Speak up. What? The Mikey Show. That's the ultimate hang zone. All right. Just a lot on a peach. I'm McLaurin, says Rock 105.3. In fact, to our censors, b**** is a four-letter word. They didn't even allow b****. to be mentioned in the same commercial as Tecate Light. Not even to explain the difference between B and Cerveza. So as you can hear, all references to B have been censored for your protection in order to avoid any unintended association between Light B and Tecate Light Cerveza. Tecate Light, Mexico's number one Cerveza Light. It's not B Cerveza.
Enjoy Tecate Light responsibly 2007. Cervezas Mexicanas, White Plains, New York. Now, back to the Mikey morning. My handicap is I eat too much, but... Eddie. I'm a real spiritual person, you know. Scott. Not the slowest driver. Sean. Someone shut the woman up. Boston Rob. You know, my paycheck will go to putting gas in my car and smoking cigarettes. And Ashley. I am them. The Mikey Show's on. Fucking and jaw drop. Rock 5-3. Back at the Mikey Show. It's 9-28. Rodney King was shot in the face and then rode his bike home. All right, so we'll see you later. Well, okay then. Chargers are taking on the Chiefs this Sunday. All the action can be heard right here on Rock 105.3 starting at 7 a.m. I didn't even know it was going to be raining today. It's a big surprise to me. Is this supposed to stay like this all weekend, Sky? Yeah, last time I saw the weather, they were saying, you know, maybe move in on Friday and then be here Saturday and then kind of clear out on Sunday. But you know how it always changes. It's good for fire stuff, though.
There's always a positive side to everything. I like it. How about that? Oh, positive. That's positive. That's positive all over your face. Let's play the Dumb Chick Challenge. It is not, Sean. The Dumb Chick Challenge. The Dumb Chick Challenge is where we take Sky and Ashley and we have them answer very easy questions. And also, a female P1 can call in right now, 5701053, and play for herself. Then you call in and you pick either Sky or Ashley to represent you. Which one of them do you think is the smarter? Tough call. Yeah. How'd you like that look from Sky, Eddie? It was warming. Felt so good. Sky, what's happening? Oh, hi. Not too much. Let's get started. My name's Eddie.
My name's Mikey. Not too much. What's happening with you? Yeah, not too much. So the way that the game is played is you call in, you pick Ashley or Sky, or you play for yourself. And then we will ask you a one, two, or three-point question. Ones are easy, threes are hard, and the first person to five points is a winner. It's that easy. Let's see. P1 Truffle Shuffle is on the line. Hi, Andy. Hi, Truffle Shuffle. How you doing, Mikey? Good, dude. Who do you want to pick? Uh, let's go Ashley. Yeah, it's her day. Wow. Yes, it is. All right. Shake and bake. Truffle shuffle. P1 Sam. Shake and bake. Yeah. Sam, are you there? Yeah, hi. How are you? I'm doing all right. Oh, boy. Are you sure, bro? Yeah, I'm just a little nervous. That's okay. Don't be nervous. Just realize that probably hundreds of thousands of people are listening right now.
It's making worse. He's being honest. He's being honest. Don't be nervous, bro. It's all right. I mean, it's just that, you know, basically our ratings are dependent on the phone calls. Oh, God. And we're extremely judgmental. Don't be nervous, though, man. No. All right. Just know that whatever you say will be criticized by hundreds and thousands of people. Just joking around. Hang on, dude. And finally, P1 Tracy's playing for herself. Tracy, you ready to go? Yes, I am. All right, I believe that the caller started last time, Eddie. You're correct. So, Skye, you start this time. What do you want, a one, two, or three-point question? I'll take a two. You got it. Okay. Two-pointer. Skye has a system. Yeah, I got a system. She goes away from the system every time. The system is get a two-pointer wrong, get a two-pointer wrong, get a two-pointer wrong, then be humiliated into a couple of one-pointers, and then finish it with a three. I haven't had a one-pointer in forever, so shush. Okay, here we go. Sky, your two-point question is, which is the one sign in the Zodiac that is an object, not a person or animal? Ooh. Which is the one sign in the Zodiac that is an object, not a person or an animal? Jake Gyllenhaal. What's it called? His watch. It's the stop sign. It's the wait thing.
Scale? Is it just called a scale? Oh, I didn't know if that one had a special name. Yeah, it does. It does. You actually have to give us what it is. Is it called the weight thing, Mike? Scale. You're there. You're there. But which one is that? What's the sign? Oh, what's the sign? Yeah, what's the sign? Is it Libra? That is correct, Scott. Oh, you've got to be kidding me. No way. That is ridiculous. Are you joking? You're not serious, right? Are you kidding? Oh, my. October 22nd. What do you want for me? How did you not know immediately which one? I was trying to fix yours. But I'll have a special name, and that's what you were looking for. Do you get what I'm saying? Yeah, I did a digital scale. Like, I thought it was called the conundrum or something. Like the weights and balances. All right. Ashley, what do you want? A one, two, or three point question. Fox News. Ways and means. Look at this. Ashley is- Pranks and beans. Ha, ha, ha.
Have you seen my baseball? Ashley is looking at Eddie. Yeah, we have a plan. Yeah, we're going to kill it today. All right, go ahead, Ashley. What do you want? All right, you want a one-point question? Mm-hmm. Oh, I don't have any confidence today. What's the deal with that? Oh, no. Opposite, my friend. Who's this guy? Fine. Who's this guy? Well said. All right, Ashley. Please, bro. It's called a plan. What party does Barack Obama belong to? The Let's Party. The Republican. That is incorrect, Ashley. 50-50. Or I mean the Democrats. She meant it. Guys, she meant it. The Party Hardy. Dang it. He's a Democrat. I got confused. All right, Tracy. Yep. One, two, or three-pointer. I think to warm up, I'll try a one-pointer, please. You got it. You got it. Where was Jesus Christ born? Bethlehem. That is correct. Born in Bethlehem. Christmastown. That's right. North Pole with Santa. Jesus bird. Sky, what do you want? A one, two, or three-point question? What?
This is where you go off your course. I'm going to have another two. Oh, look at you, Skye. Alright, Skye. In Arabian mythology. She just rolled her eyes. Rolled her eyes. Already irritated. Think about it. Hopefully there's a Disney movie based on it. It's Aladdin. Robin Williams. Shaquille O'Neal. In Arabian mythology, how many thieves were in the adventure tale with Ali Baba? She's smiling. She's thinking. She's smiling. She's thinking. I want to say... She's grinning. I have two answers in my head. Okay, you have to pick one. Work it out. One is three and one is seven. Pick one. Hey, you over there. Don't shake your head. She's shaking her head. You can't interfere. Were any of those right? Are you kidding me? If you interfere, she's going to get a wrong question. I don't know the answer. And then you would be charged with getting her a wrong answer. Can you tell me what the nods were? No. Come on. Skye, I need an answer. Oh, Sean is so irritated. That she interfered with the game. The integrity of the game.
I mean, Sean, we're doing a show here. The integrity of the game. Sky, give me. Is there like a song about this? Come on, I need a number. Five. Incorrect. That's so stupid. The Beastie Boys. Yeah. Alibaba and the 40 Thieves. Four. Alibaba and the 40 Thieves. Ham. Alibaba and the 40 Thieves. Ham. It's in the remix. You guys haven't heard that? I haven't heard the ham remix. I think Jen messed it up. I need a new question. Ashley. She wants another one. She's got this. I'm almost afraid to ask her this question. Oh, no. But, Ashley, where is your uvula? Oh, no. Oh, no. I'm afraid to ask that question. How do you spell that? U-V-U-L-A. My baloney has a first name. It's U-V-U-L-A. Where is your... Well, I'm a girl, so... Hey, I was afraid of her. Oh, sorry. U... Uvola? Yes. Say that one more time. Is that the chocolate stuff that comes in a jar? No, because I'm very...
That's Nutella, dork. Very familiar. I used to be a sports med trainer. I used to have one. You used to be a sports med trainer? Yeah, in high school I got certified and I was the sports med trainer for the football team, the soccer team, the swim team. I know anatomy. Spell it for me one more time. I used to train labrador retrievers for medicine. I was a dog trainer too. I got a lot on this. plate here. Ashley. To offer. Where is your uvula? Okay, I'm going to go with my gut and say... Right there on there? You don't even know what that's called? She was smacking her elbow. I'm gonna say arm. That is incorrect, Ashley. That's a one-point question. Oh, no.
Ashley, the uvula is that little piece of flesh that hangs from the palate above your tongue in the back of your mouth. That little dangly thing. The punching bag. Yeah, the thing that looks like a punching bag is your uvula. Sports trainer. It's been a couple years. P1 Tracy. Eddie, what's the score right now, by the way? Sky has two points. Ashley has yet to get on the board. And Tracy has one. There you go. Two to one. It's a race for five. Tracy, would you like a one, two, or three-point question? It's like a marathon to five. I'll take a two-pointer, guys. There you go. Okay. There you go. All right, here's your question. Okay. What is the name of the giant telescope sent into space by NASA? I just had it, and it went away. Oh, no. I'm nervous. I get really nervous. It's okay. Just know. Oh, no. Don't say it again. No.
Just know that there are people trapped on the 15 right now hanging on your every word. You got it. Here we go. This is where we go. Eddie, that means that she only needs one more point to win, right? She has three points. She has three. Sky, a one, two, or three point question. Go big. My coach, P1Gen, says I need to take a three. Woo! Yeah. Every time. Every time she goes away from her strategy. Every time. She's got it. Every time. Shush. Okay. Sky, your question is... That's never happened before. I was kind of annoying myself. Moment. Sky, your question is... Yeah, Mike? Who lost the presidential election to John F. Kennedy? Like, was I alive then? Who is John F. Kennedy? Why was I even alive then? What is John F. Kennedy? Was that in Brazil? Who is this you speak of? Yes. What is an election? Joseph Stalin. George Washington?
Nicole Kidman. Evander Holyfield. That was the People's Choice Award. I was thinking of the Detroit Music Awards. Oh, is it Kid Rock? T.I. Jimmy Carter. Oh, no. Jimmy Carter? He's not even a president. He's a president's brother. Huh? Oh, no, no. Oh, no. That was Billy. Hey. The duck points from Mike. Yeah, I get eight points to him. Who was it? That was a weird moment for me. Richard Nixon is who he lost the election. This guy just gave a look like, I don't think that's right, Mike. Yeah, I think you need to double check that one. Ashley is looking at Eddie and she's mouthing to him, are you kidding me? I don't know what he wants her to take, but whatever it is, it's lofty. Ash, what do you want? It was clear what she said.
No, that's my bad. Not really. Eddie, it was very unclear what she said. You know him. Come on, mate. Oh, a three. She said a three. Oh, she said a three-point question. Well said. What is that voice? It's like the female mafia guy, but I don't want to do the guys, so it's the chick. Oh, I gotcha. I gotcha. What's the male mafia guy? Guy over here. Guy over here. She's over here. She's a regular gangster. Thank you. Oh, my God. Female version of the Mafia, like Godfather, you know, voice. Well said. If you will. She did not do that. That was horrific. So, yeah, give me a three. I don't know what your guy's problem is. Wow. Another one of my impressions. Don't go busting my belly, okay? Hey, Tom, if I was going to break your...
I'll tell you to go in and get your shine box. Oh. This kid was great. I used to call him spit shine Tommy. I swear to God. He'd make your shoes look like mirrors. He was terrific. He was the best. That sounds just like what Ashley was doing. I could have sworn we were in a movie. You make your shmiwa. Sporks over the air. That's Billy Bats. Pretty good, huh? Yeah. Give me one. All right. Team Bats. Who said Team Bats? Nothing. All right, Ashley, your three-point question is... What popular tea blend is named for a British Prime Minister? Wait, start over. You threw her off. Oh, no. Please. Once again. What popular tea blend is named for a British Prime Minister of the 1830s? Uh-oh, she took her headphones off. She's taking her headphones off. She may get this. She might have it. I think she drinks tea. She drinks tea. She's at least seen tea. Arizona. Is it iced tea? Green. Snapple. Snapple. Yes, the Earl of Snapple. Yes, Sir Snapple. This is a guess. Yes. Chamomile? And you pretty much...
I already gave it away, Mike. When he said the Earl of Snapple. Earl Grey. I guess that would make more sense. I like chamomile. Maybe we should look in the history books. It could be. Sir chamomile. Tracy. Yes. One, two, or three-point question. Well, I have a question, Mike. Yes. Okay, was Skye's question, because she got one right, was it a two-pointer? Yes. Oh, what? Yes. All right, well, I guess I'll try to wrap it up with a two-pointer. You got it. Please do. Please. I hope I can do it, girl. Please get this right. Your two-point question is, what politician was a pitch man for Viagra? Senator, well, not Senator, Dole. That is correct. You did it. I did it. What did I win? I don't know. What did she win? one another spot on the lights on sean merriman bowling event on monday oh my god where she's gonna be able to meet tons and tons of chargers that is so awesome guys not bad hang on the line thanks we'll be back good morning family this is the mikey show

Lindsay Lohan may be hard up for money. She is selling pictures to the paparazzi. How do you do that? You say, hey, for $1,000, you can take a picture of me getting in my car. Yeah, there's a couple ways you can go about it. You can actually have friends and family or whatever take pictures of you and then actually sell them to the paparazzi or else you can, for a little fee, tip the paparazzi off to where you're going to be so they can have the first shots. Yeah, but we know the movie roles aren't really pouring in right now. So Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, may be done. They're a famous couple, and they may be done. They got a baby named Apple. True. He's the baby.
Well, the tabloids are reporting that, yeah, things are really rocky between the two of them. And, you know, normally they go out and about and do family stuff together. And Gwyneth has been seen solo with the kids for quite a few weeks now. So, I know, I'm hoping it's just a rumor. Get some good songs out of it. Nobody makes it in Hollywood. Oh, dude, I didn't even think of that. Can you imagine the Heartbreak songs that'll come of that? They'll all sound the same, but hey. Just saying, dude. When you're trying. I think they're brilliant. The Sussex boys, I like them a lot. Chris fancies Manchester in football there, so I don't like that much. I almost ate this! Which one do you like, Sky? The one from the King Kong movie. That was it. Oh, that was it. That's the one I like. I wasn't really listening. That's the only one that you like? Well, no, I like them all. There's not a song I don't like. Like that Mariah Carey song? Oh, yeah. Because I'm a girl. Yeah. You just played? Come on. That's pretty close. It's channel 1049. My name's Sky. What's happening? Yeah. Rock it. I love them. Hey, listen. I'll put Caller Baby up against that any day. Play it.
Sean. I don't have it. What is your name? I thought you did have it. It was sent to you. It's odd you don't have it. What is your name? I don't know who you are. My name's Sky. What's happening? Not too much. What's happening with you? It's very funny, Sean. I don't have it. Well, it was sent to you. You should have it. Do you guys know that in Massachusetts, a convicted crook won the lottery and it violates his probation? That's funny, bro. Rob. Sorry, bro. And so now he may not get the winnings. Yeah, he won a million dollars on a scratcher, but part of his probation says he can't. You could have won a mil on a scratcher? Oh, yeah, dude. They got $20 scratch tickets back home. Yeah, it was... I love them. $20 scratch tickets back home. It was a $10 scratcher, and the game's called the 800 Million Spectacular. I played that when I went back. Dude, they got... $20? They got $10 ones. Well, this one was $10. $20 ones. Can I ask everyone a question? Yeah. Does anyone else feel like Rob has a creepy relationship with lottery tickets? Oh, yeah. For sure. He can't control himself. I'm not the only one that thinks that him and lottery tickets are creepy. Yeah. Why?
I don't know. What do you mean, creepy? Yeah, I don't think it's creepy. Like I sleep with them under my pillow? I think there's just a borderline issue there. There's a thing with lottery tickets. Yeah, there's definitely an issue. I love lottery tickets. We know. I play the lotto a few times a week. Yeah, we got it. Yeah, you can't afford food, but you play the lotto. Well, if you don't put your money in, you can't win, right? He's got a point. He does? Eddie. Don't encourage. Thank you, Eddie. Don't encourage him. Oh, my gosh. Seriously. Yeah, so part of this guy's probation said he couldn't gamble or whatever, and I guess people who win the lottery, they do a cross-reference to make sure those people don't owe back taxes or child support or whatever, and this guy came up, and he's already been collecting payments, but they're going to have to see if they're going to take the money away or if he's going to get a probation violation. Yeah, weird. Should have had someone else collect it for him. He's got it all figured out. Well, he's a convicted felon. I'm a felon. We talked about this earlier, but there's a rumor out there that Britney Spears is pregnant. Wow, please let it not be true. It's impossible! The rich get richer. What is this Britney Spears says she and Kevin are back together, blah, blah, blah? Cut a... ...even joked that the rumored baby, or babies, on board were K-Feds. That sounded great. Well, she's basically saying, yeah, it's me and Kevin's, but I...
So these rumors may be true, that she's pregnant. And the reason they're saying that they may be true is because InTouch Magazine sent a text message to some music producer she used to live with and asked if it was his, and he said, yeah. Like, what is the deal, Sky? Like, how did the conversation go? So InTouch Magazine sent a text to J.T. Rodham, who's the music producer, saying, they're saying Britney's pregnant and you're the father. He texts back, it's true. They text him, okay, do you think Britney will keep it? She's already talking about it to people. He texts back, no clue what she'll do. She is unpredictable. So wait, the author of the Harry Potter franchise, J.K. Rowling? No, this is J.T. Rodham. Oh. Yeah, they're different people. Gotcha. J.T. Rodham Clinton. No. Are you sure that this news sheet that I have is not from 1996? Because it says here, Pam Anderson to retire. No. Hasn't she been retired? Yeah. I mean, I thought that happened years and years and years ago. I mean, didn't you see her in Borat and her magic show in Vegas? Oh. Haven't, no? She's been working hard. Yep. Do you have an update on Chumbawamba in there? Yeah.
Yeah, she says she's lazy and she doesn't really like working anymore, so she hopes in a couple years that she's going to actually be able to retire. She has some land up in Canada and would love to move the family there. We would like it too. Permanently. Akon is going to face charges for throwing that kid off stage. Wow. Good. Which I went on record saying, you know, kid wouldn't have gotten thrown off stage if the kid wasn't crawling on stage. Well, he threw something on stage at Akon. Remember, he called him up and then he tossed him. Yeah, and you guys are right. He shouldn't have been thrown. Well, no, you argued in a tooth and nail. You said if anyone threw something on stage, they'd have the right to get their ass kicked. What is he doing throwing a person that's a human being? You even said that you would... Forget it. So what's he facing? Akon has been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and also second degree assault and he has a court date Monday in New York for it. Yeah. Brad Pitt says no more nude scenes? Yep. Was he doing them? No, he did. He, obviously, Thelma and Louise, that's where his career kind of started and took off, and also Troy. He did some nudie patooties. You ever seen a grown man naked? Like backside? Yeah, like seeing buns and stuff. Oh, oh, oh. Yeah, so he just did an interview. He showed his buns in Troy? I think so, yeah. I'm surprised that he would do that.
You would think he'd be a big enough star now where he'd be like, I'm not... Have you seen those buns? Yeah, you gotta take a look. Yeah, look at the buns. Sky one time was looking at some nudie pictures of Brad Pitt that were shot from a paparazzi's telephoto lens on the beach. I was? You don't remember that? No. Oh, yeah. Was that you? I don't know. I don't remember. That was my mom. Whoa. I don't... Sky, wasn't that you for real? I don't even know what you're talking about right now. It was paparazzi. Maybe it was in San Jose. I think it was. I kind of remember that, too. Yeah, I remember it. Paparazzi pictures of Brad Pitt. And I remember saying that it was irritating that he was given looks and... Blessed. Yeah. Yeah. Not fair. So he just did an interview with the BBC where he says he doesn't want to embarrass his kids when they get old enough to see his films, so he's going to put it in his contract. No nudity. Well, and he shouldn't have made Troy. Yeah. Well, you just mean the movie in general? Yeah. Troy! It's a little embarrassing. Thank you. About time. There was a, I believe, 18-year-old girl in Kansas who had a secret porn star life like nobody knew. She just told her parents about it. Just over Thanksgiving. Then she turned up missing.
And now they found her body. Oh, no. In Kansas, right? Yeah. She told her parents over Thanksgiving and also told her boyfriend. And her boyfriend dumped her. And then she went out to a bar that night and then wasn't seen again. They did have a suspect who was last seen with her. But then, you know, they did find a body that said the description does match her description. But obviously, you know, they're going to have to confirm that. They say that the overnight shift for people is now a probable cause of cancer. This is crazy. Well, I mean, isn't everything? Like, what isn't? No. And how do they figure that out? They just go, well, let's talk to a whole bunch of people that work overnights, and a lot of them get cancer? No, well, I mean, you know, when you are diagnosed with cancer, you know, they... What shift do you work? Well, they get statistics about you. You know, like, what do you do for a living? You know, because... Yeah, so they ask you, like, when do you work? Yeah, so they say a common factor for people is working the late shift. They find those people have higher rates of breast and prostate cancer. How is that? They say that... What does the time of day have to do with my breasts? Working overnight disrupts your biological clock, producing the hormone melatonin, which can suppress tumor development.
That hormone is processed at night, made at night. Yeah. It makes sense. Mm-hmm. Don't work it in the middle of the night. Yeah, they say about 20% of the working population in developed countries like ours works night shifts, 20% of people. I used to do the overnight shift on the radio. I did it for years. Yeah. It's garbage! That sucks. I had good times. Oh, it was terrible. You know what the shift was? Huh? Midnight to six. Oh, fun times. Not fun. Brutal. Think about noon this afternoon to six o'clock tonight. It's just a dumb shift. It's garbage! Two grizzlies with a troubled past will make their debut today at the San Diego Zoo. Cute. What, are they both like foster kids? Are we talking like the Memphis grizzlies? Mm-mm. No. No? I see what you're... I made that same mistake myself. Yeah. Two grizzly bears. Big country? Two grizzly bears with a troubled past. Paul Gasol? Scout and Montana are their names. They were raised by a mama. That's Siley Myrus' friend. Scout and Montana. Siley Myrus. She's so cute.
um so these two little bears were raised by a mama who uh you know main source of food was going in and disrupting disrupting neighborhoods and going through the trash and whatever and so that's how the babies learned how to get food and so they couldn't release them back in the wild because they didn't know how to get food for themselves in the wild so they were taken to the san diego zoo and then you know unfortunately like we all know we recently lost our alaskan brown bear spanky he passed away like we all know and so that left his you know grotto open and so So now Scout and Montana are going to take over that space and they're going to make their debut today. Poor Spanky. Let's see. This is an interesting story. This stuff that's going on here in Nordstrom here in San Diego. Tell us about this guy. So in a couple of the locations of Nordstrom's here in San Diego, they have stopped with the piano players. Actually, this story made the front of the UT today. And so the Nordstrom's in Horton Plaza and the one in the mall in Escondido, you will no longer hear the piano player. But the one in Fashion Valley and UTC will still have a piano player, but their hours have been cut.
Now, they claim it has nothing to do with money. They did a focus group, and the focus group says that they prefer a greater variety of music instead of a live pianist. But when the UT was doing this story, they went out to the mall and were interviewing people, and they say they miss the music. They would prefer the live piano. They thought it gave the store a classy touch. Buy me some penis and cracker jacks. He said pianist. Hey, that's great. Pianist is what he was trying to say. Bummer. P1 Kevin, what's up? Yeah, hey Mikey, how you doing? I have a six-week-old Rottweiler puppy, and I was calling for support. He's been in the hospital for like five days, and he's barely holding on. I was wondering if I could do some P1 support. Sure, man. Absolutely. We know how important pets are to people. People can absolutely lift your dog up in their prayers, man. Thank you so much, Mikey. You got it. You said it's a puppy? Yeah, he's six weeks old. He's just an old guy, you know. All right, brother. Well, thank you for calling, man. All right, thank you. Eddie's got some breaking news. What? The Miami-Dade police have three people in questioning for the shooting of Sean Taylor. Oh, my. Wow.
So they've detained three people. They're questioning them. The Miami Herald says on its website that investigators believe that suspects learned of Taylor's house through someone who unwittingly set up the burglary by bragging about his wealth. And the suspects include a teenager and two men in their 20s from the Fort Myers area. Really? Yes. Teenagers? One teenager. One teenager. Very sad. What a weird deal, man. You know, what's so dumb about it is you think to yourself, these guys, you're not going to get away with stuff. No way. Not these days, man. You just don't. More things and then we're going to hit the road. Airline baggage employee called that San Diego congressman's apology pathetic. Now, this is the dude that was all bossy when his luggage got messed up. Yeah, his luggage was delayed. He was in an airport in Virginia. This is Congressman Bob Filner here from San Diego. We talked about it when it happened. Yeah, and so he pushed past an airport employee and then went into a restricted area. So he had his charges reduced to trespassing and pled kind of a no contest type of plea and had to write an apology note to the woman who he...
pushed and she says the apology is pathetic and she's considering civil action because she's been unable to work since due to stress and anxiety. So we touched on this real briefly, but that children's pool, the little beach area in La Jolla where the seals hang out, they're saying that it's going to the kids. So the seals can't hang out there anymore. What are they going to do? How are they going to get the seals out of there? Seals can't read. Yeah, what are they going to do with that eviction paper? They didn't even think about that. Yeah, they're going to have to, how do they put it here, like dredge the cove or whatever and basically redo the whole thing because even to make it healthy for people to swim, the water quality has to change. Oh, come on. We know that those seals are not going to care and they'll get ticket after ticket after ticket and just get sighted. Just throw them away. They throw them away. The seals, they wad those tickets up and throw them away. Right in front of the officer. Right. Like, it's so blatant. In his face, they're like, whatever. Yeah, so, and it kind of sucks because, you know, the people, the animal protection people are upset because they say December is the start of pupping season for the seals. Who doesn't know that? And so, little babies. There he goes. Yeah, I used to think that they should let the little kids swim there, but I changed my mind. I think that the seals should swim there. Oh.
I think you should be able to go there and look at the seals. That should be the deal. That's like a tourist attraction. That brings money to that area. Yeah, go look at them. Right. And I think that there's other places that little kids can swim at. There's plenty of places. What changed your mind? Huh? What changed your mind? I don't know. I guess when I heard the news, I thought I suddenly pictured it without seals. That ain't cool. But I'll tell you what, those seals make a mess with their doo-doo. Oh, boy. All over. They really do, man. They're everywhere around there. So when you go there, it is a mess. So they have to give those things some toilet paper. Does he perform when he's there? Like Kiss from a Rose? No, they don't do like the ball on the nose or any of that stuff when you're there. But I'll tell you what. Sky's right. They got to dredge it. They got to put some seal litter out. Give them some toilet paper. All right. Some Windex with ammonia in it. Ew. Weird. Whatever you use. I don't think you dump ammonia. Well, you got to clean it up with that Lysol or something. I know. I don't think you dump Lysol. You guys want to hear Bobby Knight's neighbor yelling at him? What? Definitely. Texas Tech coach. He used to coach for Indiana. He's got a hot temper like Boston Rob. Nope. Huh? He's a hot temper. What? Just like Boston Rob. Excuse me? Now I get what you mean. That's right. Oh, look. He's already getting steep. All right. Gets all hard and masculine and angry when he's listening to Mariah Carey. Yeah. Yeah.
Cut one. Wait, wait, wait. I gotta explain. This is apparently his neighbor getting mad because Bobby Knight fired a shotgun that had birdshot in it and it rained down on the neighbor's roof. Now you know what birdshot is, Skye? Yeah, the stuff that Chaney got hit with. Yeah, it's just tiny little pellets. Chaney didn't get hit with it. He hit somebody. I mean, he hit someone with it. Are you Ashley now? You knew what I meant. Whatever, dude. You get it. Give me a break, brah. I'm not even listening. Do we know why Bobby Knight was firing a gun at his house? No, he's probably got a big property and he's out there hunting. Okay. Cut one. Okay. So there it is. The guy was real upset. Shocking on you. Shocking on you. It really is making the rounds right now on YouTube. Wow. Maybe we should hear it again. It was that compelling. Yeah, let's take a listen. Now Sean is protesting. No, don't protest. Sean, don't do it. Sean, please. But I didn't get the gist of it. Please play it, Sean. Uh-oh. We're sorry, dude. Sean. Hit it. Sean, hit it. Bobby Knight hit it. Bobby Knight hit it. Bobby Knight's neighbor getting angry. Hit it. Why won't he? Sean, he's still with us there. The zephyr dropped. Sean, are you still with us? Maybe the zephyr dropped.
Can you see him in the camera? No. No? No, Zeth lets that disconnect every single morning. No, it's weird. Multiple times. No, it's weird. Like, lately at 10 o'clock, the camera's been shutting off, so. Maybe Sean's shutting it off for a weird reason. Sean, are you shutting the camera off? Sean, can you hear me? Is he still connected, Zeth? Sean! He is? He is? Sean! Maybe that's what happened. Maybe it cut out because he wasn't connected. Can you get us connected? He's connected. Is he connected? Sean, are you there? Maybe call him on the phone. Oh, boy. Rob's over there doing Sudoku. What's up? How's it going? It's a good one. I just put in a two. P1, Alex is on the line. Maybe he can recreate the audio. Yeah, how you doing? Alex, go ahead. Yeah, man, I was just wanting to hear the Mikey Show's take on professional athletes carrying and being licensed to carry firearms on the person concealed or otherwise. I think maybe Sean.
might still be around today if he were one of those many, many athletes that did that. So what you're saying is you're saying like there should be a notation made that it's a professional athlete as compared to a regular citizen. Yeah, because people are always after what they want. I mean, they're jealous of them. How is that not the case with a movie star or a singer? I don't know, but it seems like these guys are getting a lot more problems with that. But they have as much right as anybody to carry a weapon. America, right? Well, no, but concealed on their person, that's a totally different thing. But lots of people have that right. Like, say you own a restaurant and you carry large amounts of cash every night. You can get a permit for that. Well, if you can get licensed to conceal a weapon, you can get a license to conceal a weapon. It doesn't matter if you're an athlete or a regular person or whatever. Right. Failing to get your point, Alex, I'm not sure if you're saying they should be allowed to or if you're saying, hey, this is a problem, athletes carrying guns. Yeah, I just wanted to know what you guys take on it. I think it is a problem, but not all these guys have a lot of issues with the loss. Some of these guys are well-to-do people. You think that it's a problem that athletes carry concealed weapons?
I think that I just really wanted your guys' take on it, what you guys thought about it. My take is that they're the same as anybody else, professional athlete, carrying a concealed weapon. They want to. They're no different than anybody else. Personally, I don't know. I don't really see a difference between professional athlete and Joe Schmo. Yeah, Schmo. Can you imagine if somebody was actually named Joe Schmo? Joseph Schmo. That would be so cool. Yeah. Joe Schmo. And you shake the guy's hand, you know, you'd be like, hey, Mike Esparza, how you doing, Joe Schmo? You're like, come on, dude. Dude, what's, like, really, what's your name? It's Joe Schmo. Come on, bro. Come on, bro, Seth. P1 Nafina. Hey, I was wondering if you guys could play the Holy Night song. That's, it's freaking hilarious. Oh, yes, we can. Haven't heard it today. Oh, yes, we can. Putting up decorations tomorrow. Put the sad boy on. Music to my ears. Hmm. That yawning. Sky, why are you yawning? Over it? Because what? Well, I mean, I guess saying I'm over it doesn't really apply because I was never in on it, but it's lame. You feel that the song is lame? This version, yeah. I've always suspected that you had no heart. You've just confirmed it. Wow.
Why does this make me have no heart? Well, this is the most touching, tender, sensitive version of this song I've ever... Excuse me. I'll have to pretend they don't like something because secretly they enjoy... It's called A Guilty Pleasure. It's not like this is apple butter. Behind the console. Ashley is hiding behind the console. It's supposed to bring us together, not pull us apart. Can you imagine them fighting? I know. I love her so much. I respect her. Oh, no. Not a good deal. And I love you. We should actually take like three by five cards and cut them and make like actual passes. And when Skye says something, she takes it out of her wallet. Talking over the song, guys. That's true. That is true. I'm from an unnamed source that says they are not free, Skye. Don't let her fool you. No.
I wonder who sent that. What does that mean? I wonder who wrote that. They are not free. I don't get it. They are free passes, Sky. 100% is a deal. I just got an instant message from an unnamed source that said, yeah, right. I know Sky believes me. That's all that matters. All right, Sean, let's hear that audio of the neighbor of Bobby Knight getting upset at Bobby Knight. Cut one. Did I ask you nicely? What? Move down. You're too close to my house. Pellets fell on my house. I didn't shoot once in that direction. Pellets fell on my house. You're the two. I'm filming you. You can do whatever you want. I'm filming you, Bob. I told you the other day, if y'all want to go back in, they're fine. But I don't want no pellets landing on my house when I'm cleaning my swimming pool. I told you you could do whatever, but I don't want you. I asked you to move down.
I don't call the police on nobody, don't care. That's exactly what I said. I'm asking you now to move down so the pellets don't land on my house again. You've asked us politely now. You can film whatever you want to film. I don't care. We'll go wherever you want to go with it. Just move down. You say if you fellas... Do you want me to come out there on West 50 to your house and shoot? Or you want me to go to where you live at the right pantry? No, I don't want to go there. I want you guys to move down further away from my house. We'll do that if you do it politely. I already did politely. Oh, you did. When you have bullets went... When you have belt pellets land in my swimming pool, don't move the gun towards me again. Do not move the gun towards me again. Nobody moved the gun towards you. It's on film. Don't do it again. I'm asking you now to move. Move down further where the pellets don't land at my house. Bob, I'm telling you now. I didn't shoot at your house. The pellets landed in my swimming pool and on my house. I didn't shoot at it. I can't help that.
I'm asking you to move down further. No, you didn't. You're screaming. I'm asking you now, just like I did earlier, to move down. You didn't ask us early to move down. Bob, I'm telling you, move down. You know who I am. I know who you guys are. Just move down. I don't need you guys out here at 7 o'clock in the morning scaring the hell out of my wife. She come running out the back door wondering what's going on. You two are the only people out here shooting. Well, maybe Bob didn't. Well, he's probably covering up for you because you're some big celebrity. So what I'm saying now, I'm going to tell you now, I'm asking you, move down. Away from my house, shoot it. Well, basically, we don't have to. You don't have to? That's right. Okay. You had pellets laying in my backyard. One of y'all did it. It doesn't matter. Guy's setting him up. Guy's trying to set him up. That's what it sounds like to me. Come on. He's trying to rile up a bear that he knows is rabid. He's out there with a video camera. You don't see that, Eddie? Yeah. I do see it, but I also see the fact that Bob Knight is a jackass. Oh, totally. And so he could have done it, and it wouldn't surprise me either. I can see both ways. And he's a hothead, and you want to document it just in case he hauls off and punches you. Okay. Definitely fair takes. Here's mine. Dude knows that Bob Knight...
is a hothead. Bob Knight did something that made dude mad. So dude cusses and screams at Bob Knight about his guns. Bob Knight has a big ego and says, you're going to talk to me like that? Whatever, I ain't leaving. Which is basically what he admits to. He says, if you ask me nicely, I'll do it. So dude goes and gets video camera and says, hey, maybe I can videotape Bob Knight being crazy. And on that tape, Bob Knight's not really being crazy, but it still got out there. Guess why? Because dude wanted it to. Dude wants to, like, get Bob Knight on camera. I mean, to me, I ain't got nothing. Listen, I got no sympathy for Bob Knight. He's a hothead. I'm just saying. I mean, Boston Rob could talk about it. He's a hothead. Not a hothead. No.
Skye, what movies are coming out this weekend? Well, there is a movie coming out this weekend, and it's called Awake. Oh, is that that creepy one about the surgery? Peyton Christensen, Jessica Alba, Terrence Howard. Oh, dude. No, thank you. This will do for surgeries what Jaws did for going into the water. Yeah. It is a movie about a guy that goes into surgery and he's awake while they're performing the surgery. Cut 23. Sleeping like a baby. Yeah, right. What is that? That stinks. Wait. Am I supposed to be asleep right now? Nerd. Let's get the drapes on. Wait, wait, wait. Something's wrong. Give me another drape right here. Listen to me. I can feel that. Don't tell me you're a mess. I can still hear you. God, it's all the way. Okay, I'm still awake. Scalpel. Move something. Do something, Clay. Move an arm. Move a finger. Come on, open your eyes. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! No, thank you. No, okay. I'm good. No way. It looks so good. Thank you, though. Oh, that is creepy. Forget it. It's not just creepy. It's two words. It's Cree-P. Yep. The two of them. Well said. What's up, Christy? Hello? What's up?
Hey, this is P1 Christy. I'm calling to comment on the problem with the children's pool with the SEALs. Yeah, go ahead. I mean, I know it's sort of beating a dead horse, but I just really wanted to say I find the whole thing completely tragic. I mean, I moved out here from the East Coast five years ago, and going to see the SEALs there was one of my first memories of San Diego. And every time I have family and friends come and visit from the East Coast, you know, I always take them down there, and they're always, you know, really blown away by it and impressed that, you know, this something we have here and I'm just wondering you know what kind of monsters are these people that are pushing to get the seals out of there I mean are the rich children of La Jolla not privileged enough that they just have to have this little you know piece of beach all to themselves because I mean I have a three-month-old son and I'm much more upset about the idea of him not having the opportunity to see these seals than I am You know, him possibly not being able to swim at the children's pool. Because there are plenty of other beaches I could take him to, you know? Sky, what do you got?
Well, basically back in 1931, the city, there was some sort of trust transfer of the ownership of the cove from the state. And in the agreement, it says that the cove was to be maintained as a swimming beach for children. For children, yeah. I remember. So back in 1931, that was put on. carrying this over you know what like almost 80 years later right so that was put on the books in black and white so when it goes through the legal court and they look back at the documents there it is i mean it may not make sense it may not be fair but if that's what the documents show it was intended to that's what the court's gonna uh rule on and it sucks obviously there has to be someone who's pushing for this you know or They would just let things lie the way they have been. You're probably right. You're probably right about the fact that it is rich La Jollaans that want to have their kids down there. The former president of the La Jolla Town Council sued and started this whole thing off. And so now with the California Supreme Court and their latest ruling, he's now going to get reimbursed $468,000 in attorney fees that he put out to fight this issue.
I guess the problem probably is that all their hired nannies don't, you know, have driver's licenses to, you know, drive their children to the other beaches like the rest of us. Well, that's kind of. All right. Well, thank you so much. Thanks for the call. I want to get my wife, Rebecca, on real quick because she just saw this documentary on Discovery Health about people that have actually been awake during surgeries. No, thank you. That can't like. Tell the people that they're awake. It's everybody's nightmare. It's a worst possible scenario. She just saw a special on it. She got her on the phone. She's got her birthday coming up here. Rebecca's going to be 32 on Monday, December 3rd. My sweet little wifey. Let's see. I'm missing any of the big stuff. In sports news, the Knicks.
Have hit an all-time low. They lost to the Celtics 104-59. Great game. 59? Yeah. Rob, how did they only score 59 points? And it was supposed to be 56. A guy hit a three that they had to review at the very end with no time on the clock. Wow. That's bad. P1 Mark. Hey, Mikey. This is Mark. What's up? I love the show. Love your comments. Appreciate your honesty. But you made a comment that's not sitting very well with me. Which one? About the grizzly bears and how they've had a trouble past and you ran the foster kid comment behind that. Were you a foster kid? I was a foster kid. I apologize, man. I certainly didn't mean to hurt anybody's feelings with that comment. There's a lot of good kids out there that have no choice but to do that. I'm sure there is, dude. I certainly didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I apologize for that. I appreciate the apology and love the show. Always have since I've moved back down here. You got it. And you guys are number one on my station. No problem, bro. All right, man. We'll see you. You know how it is. You know, you're joking around. You say something. Somebody might get their feelings. So you never want to hurt somebody's feelings. Honey, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. So tell me about this documentary. Yeah, it was on like Discovery Health, I think. It could have been some other channel, but it was so freaky. It was exactly about what you guys were talking about.
in that movie, it's people who, you know, for some reason, the anesthesia, like, goes wrong, and their body is paralyzed, but they're awake the entire time. And so they can't move, and they can't speak, and they can't make any sounds. And it was like two hours of people recounting their stories of this happening to them. And they would say things like, they could feel every single thing and that they were internally like screaming. I know. And that they could hear everything around them. I know. And then they had some experts and stuff on that were saying that this is actually more common than we would ever, you know, assume. And that usually it's a, you know, a particular person. And like, so if, if,
a person has that kind of experience most likely it could happen to them again oh my no way oh my these people you know will avoid surgeries or anything like that at any cost obviously that is crazy oh it was so scary i couldn't believe it i watched the whole two hours with my mouth open wow what a nightmare all right honey okay tip um yeah p1 ryan just wrote it said that you know ryan We all know Ryan. P1 Ryan has had to have surgeries for his back on a few different things. He says this is his biggest fear. Every one of his surgeries that he goes into, that's what he's thinking about. I'm telling you, man. I couldn't see the movie. I'm going to be really interested to see if the movie does well. I wonder if people can tolerate the idea of it. Will you guys not go because it's just too much?
like in terms of weirdness? Pretty much. Yeah. Wow. Like, I don't even think I'd see that on DVD. Really? No. Ashley, what about you? Hell no. No way? No, thank you. Rob? DVD. I'll watch it. Really? But you won't go see it in the theater? No. Too freaky? I can't afford it, Mike. That's a big thing. Maybe if I could sneak in. Yeah. Actually, alright, maybe I will go. 570-1053 is the phone number. Call us at the beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment. You can call in at that time. I'm going to ask you guys to switch over here, and I'm going to ask Amanda to switch over there. Let's take some phone calls. Mikey Show. Hi, it's P1 Colligan, man. What's up, dude? Hey, I was just wondering who sings that old Holy Night song. We have no idea. We have absolutely no idea. A genius. A listener sent it to me years ago, and I have no idea who sings it. It's one of the most beautiful renditions I've ever heard in my life. Hey, if I send you an email, could you send that to me? I don't want to get in this thing where everybody's going to start doing that. Everyone's going to email you. Yeah, dude, I can't do it. And the only reason I can't is because everybody's going to start emailing me and wanting a copy of it. And you know what I mean? We played enough on the radio. Just listen to the radio. You'll hear it about a million times. Mikey Show, hello. Hi, Mikey. I wanted to call in about the awake during surgery. Go ahead, man.
Okay, well, I was a 10-pound baby, so my mom had to do a C-section. And she explained it as basically a blowtorch inside of her. Oh, my. Really? So this happened to your mom? It happened to my mother. Wow. Now, has she had surgery since then? My brother was also C-section, but it did not happen to her. So it didn't happen for a second time. But how crazy is that that your mom was strong enough to do another C-section with that wrist? Yeah. That's crazy. And are you awake during a C-section? You just can't feel. You're just numb. You're absolutely awake. So wouldn't she say something like, hey, I'm feeling this. I can feel this. Right. She just said it just made her pass out. It was just so bad. Oh, my gosh. Huh. All right. Thanks, man. P1 Brandon. Hey, what's up? I got a story about that. Awake during surgery. Last call on this. Last call on this. Freaked out. Last call on this. Go ahead. You'll love this one. My brother worked at a hospital. A woman was in surgery. She was awake. She didn't feel anything, but she could hear the doctors, the surgeons, making fun of her because she was overweight. And she filed a lawsuit and took him to court. Really? Yeah, she heard everything. All the jokes.
Because those guys, those guys are talking the whole time and they, they don't even, it's like they're not even paying attention because it's just like, it's just like driving, you know, you could, you could just like talk and chat. That's gnarly. Yeah, they were just teasing her and making fun of her. That's not an urban legend. Is that an urban legend, Eddie? I've heard this before. That's an urban legend. It's an urban legend. No, I don't. Ah, yeah, it is. I've heard that before. And then he woke up and said, welcome to the world of AIDS. And an ice bath with no liver. That's right. Mikey Show. What's up? I wanted to ask the Oracle a question. Yo, yo, yo. Oh, my. Wow. Oracle in the house. What's up? On a decline in the last couple of years. And if so, do you think by getting Michael Jordan in commentary would help? What? Eddie didn't hear any of that. Everybody was screwing around. Okay, I was asking him if he thought that the NBA fan base has been on a decline the last couple years, and if so, if he thought if Michael Jordan got in commentating, it would help. No, absolutely not. I think that the NBA, first of all, it's terrible to watch. And they don't really have...
the marquee player like a Michael Jordan right now where the NBA can kind of wrap their arms around. We're long past the days of Magic and Larry and Michael and all those guys, and it's, yeah, I don't know. You don't think even if they started getting on the wagon of, you know, bringing back the old school, you know, idea of playing basketball, that wouldn't even do it? If Michael Jordan did? Yeah, like if him and Charles, like imagine him and Charles, you know, commentating together. You don't think even that. You know, rallying. Well, I don't think Jordan is ever going to commentate. I mean, he's got enough money. He's not going to ever do a full-time job. Thanks, guys. Appreciate it. Thanks for the call. We got both Ashley and Rob doing appearances this weekend or what? Just me, I believe. What are you doing? Yeah, tomorrow for college football, if you got no plans, even if you do have plans, cancel them. Come downtown to the Whiskey Girl on 5th Ave. That's downtown of 5th Ave. The Whiskey Girl from 2 till 3.45 with me. And go BC tomorrow. There you go. PC. PC. I have my friend Amanda in here today. I usually give my testimony at the end of the show on Fridays. The idea of it is, is that there's a lot of people that are experiencing currently things that I have experienced in the past. And Amanda is someone that I know and her story is pretty interesting. And I know that there are probably a lot of women.
And maybe guys, too, that can hear. Because there's some stories about some guys in her story that can relate to what her story is. Amanda, what I need you to do is come right up to the microphone. Because you've got to be really, really super close to the microphone. And just tell people your story. There you go. And you've just got to be real close. There you go. And just tell people your story. Okay. Aww. She's nervous. She's so cute. She's so cute right now. She's nervous, but don't. I'm telling you, don't be nervous. It's all right. I guess my story starts when I was about 15 years old. That's when I started using meth. I started using because I had an older sister who was using at the time. And I had just always felt really different than everyone else, even my own friends. I couldn't identify with anyone. So I kind of used it as an out for me. And it just got really...
mixed up into that world um how old were you you said i was 15 when i started using right um this was here in san diego yes and then when i was about a couple years it was just kind of a little every so often at first and it progressively got worse and after a couple years um met a guy um got pregnant had a miscarriage because i was using so many drugs and um Ended up, a week after I had a miscarriage, I woke up in a hospital with tubes down my throat. I ended up having alcohol poisoning and had to have my stomach pumped. Went to rehab, didn't really take it too seriously. Got out of rehab, found out I was pregnant again. Still with the same guy? Yeah, same guy. How old are you at that point? I was 17 years old. And so I...
Somehow got off of drugs for two and a half years and was able to stay sober throughout my pregnancy. Question. Yeah. At this age, at 17, like what kind of kid were you? I was the quiet, smart kid that just didn't fit in anywhere. Not even with my own friends because they were all the really smart kids, but they weren't into drugs. And so even with, I couldn't even identify with them. Siblings? Yeah, I was the middle child, so I guess I had a little bit of the middle child syndrome going on there, too. So, fast forward, you're 17 years old, you get out of the hospital, you'd lost a baby because you had alcohol poisoning, and you had tubes down your throat in the hospital, you get out of there, and you go back to the same guy, right? Yeah. Okay, so pick it up from there, what happens then? I found out I was pregnant a couple weeks after getting out. Well, I actually went to rehab after the hospital. Found out I was pregnant a couple weeks later. And made the decision right then and there to stop using drugs and drinking. But wasn't working any kind of a program. Didn't have any kind of guidance. Just kind of quit cold turkey. Not knowing what to do. Stayed sober for two and a half years. You had the baby? Yeah. Awesome.
My boyfriend started cheating on me and he was just really into drugs and I wasn't at that time so it just wasn't working out and ended up breaking up with him and hooking up with this other guy who happened to really like to use coke a lot. So I kind of got into that and started using a lot of coke and drinking, smoking pot and then I decided You know, if I'm going to be doing drugs anyways, I might as well be back with the father of my baby doing the drugs I like. So I started using meth again. And from there, it all just went downhill and just got really bad. Started using every day. That's all I looked forward to was just using. And I wasn't being a good mom at all. I would leave my daughter at home at night with my mom and just go out and stay up all night and use drugs. Um, did the rehab thing two more times, but left after about a week at each rehab. Couldn't stay there. I just wasn't ready. I didn't want to be sober. I had no reason to be sober. Um, then about eight months ago, um, had a different boyfriend, another boyfriend. Um, I left my daughter's dad for my drug dealer because I thought I, you know, deserved better, so...
That was a step up. Yeah, you know, instead of the nickel and dime bag guy, I had the dealer, you know, so I was set. So I went to work all day one day, came home, was really tired, just wanted some space, wanted to be alone. It was me, my daughter, and my boyfriend, the dealer, and I asked him to leave, and he wouldn't. I said I needed space, and he pulled out a knife. and told me that he was going to kill himself if I made him leave and just started all this drama. And I got really scared because my daughter was in the next room. I didn't know what to do. So I called up my ex, my daughter's dad, to come over and help me get this guy to leave because I was terrified. I didn't know what he was going to do, if he was going to hurt himself, if he was going to hurt me. So my ex came over. The boyfriend left.
I'm left with my ex, and here I am expecting all this sympathy from him, thinking he's going to feel bad for me. And really it was just the opposite. He was just enraged. He just wasn't him. And started telling me he was going to take my daughter away from me, that she didn't need to be around that drama. And, I mean, he's her father, but he's never been there for her ever. So I kind of thought it was ridiculous and I just thought we'd end up smoking later and all this would just be a stupid fight that we were having. And I went to go pick up my daughter because he kept telling me that he was going to leave with her and he called a ride to come pick him up. And as soon as I started walking towards her, he just came after me and he attacked me. He just, he wasn't him. He punched me in the face and I fell over and I didn't know what was going on and he just kept. like kicking me in my ribs and pulling my hair um he tried to push me over and i grabbed onto his shirt so i wouldn't fall down and it ended up ripping um and i just really didn't know what was going on and i just kept asking him like how can you do this to me why are you doing this like stop and he just continued to attack me and punch me and um
Where's your daughter while this is going on? She was right there. She was watching the whole thing, and I kept screaming for her to go in a room, and she just wouldn't leave me, and she was just standing there crying, watching her dad beat up her mom. What stopped it? Well, it went on for a while. He actually came up from behind me, cupped his hands around my nose and my mouth, and held down pretty tightly, and he was... you know, trying to suffocate me. And I was sitting there, and I looked up at my daughter, and I mean, I can, everyone asks, you know, what was your bottom? I can identify that moment in time as my rock bottom, just having the thought that I was going to die, that he was going to end my life right there in front of my daughter, and just looking up at her and thinking, oh my God, she's not going to have a mom, and she's going to have to watch her dad murder her mom in front of her. And it was only at that moment that I started fighting back. I reached back. I was trying to gouge his eyes out or anything I could. I was just fighting for my life at that point. Scratched him on the face, but it got him to get off of me. Then he went and he picked up my daughter, and it took all my strength, but I got up and tried to stop him.
And I couldn't really do anything because he was holding her, so I just tried to block the door. And he started punching me as he was holding her. Then he put her down and threw me on my back and broke a chair and started trying to suffocate me again. So when he let go, I started screaming for help. And luckily my landlord and one of my neighbors had heard me screaming. And they came into my apartment and they called 911. And I just kept begging my landlord not to leave me. told him to please not let him leave with my daughter, that he was trying to take her. But his ride got there and he left with my daughter before the cops got there. So where did you end up? The paramedics came shortly after the police arrived. I was just really freaked out and crying. The cops didn't really try to ask me any questions because I was just out of it. I was just scared.
screaming, like, go find my daughter. He left, he took my daughter. The paramedics came, they put me on the stretcher. I was like 90 pounds. I didn't fit on the adult one, so they had to bring the pediatric neck brace and all that stuff. And they transported me to the ER and did x-rays and, you know, gave me pain medicine and all that. And then the cops finally arrived a couple hours later. They had found my ex with my daughter with their ride about a couple blocks away, and I believe they took my daughter into foster care that night. And the cops came to my hospital bed, asked me a couple questions, were really, really mean to me. My ex had told them that I had been on drugs, and they asked me if that was true, and I had an IV in my arm and was scared that they would...
take blood and drug test me and was scared to say that I wasn't when I was and get in more trouble. So I, you know, admitted that I had used meth that day and they told me to get dressed and they handcuffed me and they put me under arrest and they took me to Las Clinas Jail and arrested me for domestic violence. What happened next? Well, he had told the police that it was my boyfriend who was there earlier who had pulled the knife out that had beat me up. And he had, you know, a ripped shirt and a scratched face from when I was, you know, trying to get him off of me. So, and I was the one who was on drugs. So, you know, I was the bad guy to the police, you know, and they were calling me names, telling me that I deserved it. Just like really horrible. They took me to jail and I was there for about four days. And then they released me because they didn't have enough to hold me in there. And I got out. I went back to my apartment where everything was thrown all over the place. I saw the broken chair that I had been thrown on. It was just horrible. I had to walk by my daughter's room with her empty bed and I was just all alone and I was terrified that he would come back and try to hurt me. You know, he never got arrested. He was, you know...
He got to go home that night, and I was just really scared and didn't know what to do. And the first thing I did was I called my boyfriend, who had pulled the knife out originally that night, and called him over and smoked the rest of my dope. Now let's fast forward a little bit, because we're going to wrap it up. But I want to fast forward a little bit. You guys got to keep in mind, this didn't happen that long ago. This was how many months ago? It was April 10th of this year. So fast forward a little bit. What happened? Child Protective Services had taken my daughter away. And they told me that they would have put her up for adoption if I didn't get clean and sober. And I didn't know how to do that on my own. I mean, I had just gotten out of jail and I was still using, you know, even knowing all that I had to lose.
I think it was a couple days after I got out of jail, I went to work, and this guy that was in the same industry as me, who I had contact with through work, I guess had heard about my story, and started emailing me and calling me, telling me to come up and meet him. He wanted to show me what he did, and I didn't know what that meant at the time. I just thought he wanted to do something business-related, and when I kind of figured out who he was and what he was all about, I didn't really think I had any other options but to go see him. So I ended up driving up to PB and meeting up with this guy in his office. And he kind of introduced me to sobriety that day. How long ago was that? It was probably about a week after all this had happened. So it was probably like seven months ago. But he took me on his golf cart.
And he took me in La Jolla to Mount Soledad and showed me this house that he and his wife had just gotten that they were trying to get state license to become a recovery home. And it was just a sober living at the time. And introduced me to a lot of people in recovery, a lot of people who had been in the same position as me and had similar stories. And then I didn't know what else to do, so I thought that he was put in my life for a reason. So I really grasped onto him and started calling him every day and moved into the house as it was becoming state-licensed and stayed there while it was still a sober living and started my sobriety there. And I moved out because I didn't think that I needed that level of care.
eventually became a recovery home. But, you know, even though I was sober, I still found myself having a lot of problems. And I didn't know why. And so I moved back in there and lived in it as it was a recovery home and did the 90-day program there. And it was there that I really kind of found my foundation of, you know, all my sobriety. developed a spiritual aspect in my life. As part of the program, everyone goes to the Rock Church on Sundays and they do a Bible study on Tuesday nights and Recovery Bonfire on Friday. That was all new to me. I'd never done anything like that before. Never had God in my life, never went to church, was never...
religious by all means and it was just really weird to be doing all that it was just really different and um but as i went and did all this stuff more and more each week i i just started getting more and more into it and um it was like as if this hole that i had used drugs for so long to fill was finally What happened with your daughter?
about that yeah now the reason that and thank you so much for sharing your story the reason that i had amanda come in and the reason that i wanted amanda to share her story is because there's a lot of women that are potentially listening right now that have a very similar story and the bottom line is that there is hope there's hope for anybody that's in that kind of a situation amanda was
