We'll be right back. for us to get everything organized and ready to go. And so, as we were coming on right now, I thought, that's got to be one of the longest ones that we've done. The song is only seven minutes long. What are you going to do? It is 6.06. Mayor Sanders gave his State of the City speech yesterday and pledged to end the era of decay and neglect to our city. Chargers, Colts, this Sunday, 10 a.m. All the action can be heard right here on Rock 105.3. starting at 7 a.m. with the pregame show. I'm going to watch the game with my dad, and he's going to come over to the house to watch the game. When I'm really into a football game, this is the time that is the most nerve-wracking, and what I mean by this time is the planning time for where's the game going to be watched, who's coming to watch it, that stuff. There is that level of superstition within me, and it's always in the planning stage. I don't want to make too big a deal out of it.
What I don't want is, yeah, come over like this big plan because then I don't want to imagine a defeat going on amongst that sort of atmosphere. So I try to make it very laid back and, you know, like nothing's really going on. So I said, Dad, come over in your pajamas and just pretend you just woke up. He said, all right, so we'll just sit there in our pajamas and watch the game. Yeah, I'm a little kind of freaking out a little bit because we're doing the pregame show from a location. And we've never done that all year. And I'm like, ooh, wow, we're really changing it up. Where are you going to be? Ashley's getting me the information. It's a place in Little Italy. Like a sports bar? Oh, yeah. I've been to that place. Yeah, it's supposed to be really cool. It is. They're going to have breakfast specials and all kinds of stuff. Little Italy Urban Bar and Restaurant? That's it. What street does it say? It does not, but I can find out. All right. It's fun down there. It's so nice in that place. That place has been all, you know, the whole, well, all of Little Italy has been redone. Oh, really? That place is nice now, man. I mean, it'd be nice to live there. That place, you know, when I first moved to San Diego, that was a,
Toilet. The area around Little Italy was a toilet, but now it's been cleaned up. It's pretty nice. They've redone it. They've added new buildings and new condos and built new stuff and repainted restaurants and opened new restaurants and got rid of homeless people. I always wonder where they put them. But they do. Like, you know, Giuliani, he cleaned up New York City. Like, all the homeless people disappeared. I remember when Eddie and I used to go to New York. In the late 90s. And then all of a sudden we went back and we were like, where are the homeless people? I don't know what he did with them. One way ticket to Europe. I don't know. Maybe. Something happened though. They're not there anymore. They serve them in the finest restaurants, Mike. I see. I got the address. You got the address. What's the address? It's 1953 India Street. Right there in Little Italy. Urban Bar and Restaurant. See, I was going to say India. And then I thought, but when you said urban bar and restaurant, I'm like, no, that's not the place I'm thinking of. But the truth is, I don't know the name of the place I'm thinking of. The place I'm thinking of is on a corner on India Street, and it's by Mimo's, my favorite place in all of Little Italy. It's not a sit-down restaurant. Well, you could sit down. But it's like a cafeteria little thing. It's a deli. Yeah, it's a deli. It's so good. Eddie's been there, too.
They'll make you sandwiches on bread that they just baked. So the bread's all fresh. Mimo's is good, man. Yeah, so it's going to be pretty cool. Laz is in Indianapolis. Oh. So he's going to be doing stuff from Indianapolis. And me and Lou are going to be at the Urban Bar and Grill. Really? So people can come out and hang out with us and get a good seat for the game. And if you want to watch the game somewhere, that's a good place to watch it. That's cool. So we have great food and great specials and stuff. Mm-hmm. What's up with my call screener screen, B-Rob? Some days it's on and some days it isn't. I'm still trying to figure that one out. Seth, do you know why the screen isn't on for the call screener? It's because what? I can't understand what you're saying. We have a few people in the studio today, and I'm going to tell you who they all are here in just a second. Welcome to the program. I'm Mikey. I'm your host. I'm 37 years old. And we got to get my, something's up with my microphone where it keeps making that little noise if I blow into it. And I'm really prone to blowing into it. I like to, you know, as part of my repertoire of being a talk show host, I like to blow into the mic. You know, different people have different talents. And that's one of mine. Well, it's what you're known for. Yeah, it's kind of what I'm known for. Really? Yeah. I play the microphone like a flute or a saxophone. Congrats.
Yeah, I use it as a wind instrument. But the problem is when I do, there's an issue. So we've got to get that resolved. So I'm the host of the show. I'm 37 years old. And I will be 38 precisely in the middle of the year. My birthday is May 31st, the day that a lot of promotions expire in the country. Really? Yeah, you'll find that as they do promotions nationally with cars and soda pop and things of this nature, they'll say, Offer ends May 31st. Oh. And my offer ends that day, too. So I'm just letting everyone know now. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 34 years old. His birthday's in April. And he is married. In about seven months, we'll be celebrating his one-year anniversary. Oh, wow. We will have been married for a year. That's weird. Skye is our news girl. She's got the headband rocking today. I like it. Thank you. Cool look. It's a cool look. I like it because it pulls the hair away from her forehead, which lets me, just for fun, imagine what she would look like bald. Oh. Which is sometimes...
A lot of fun. I'm not liking that. I'm not liking that at all. I'm like, wow. Sky with radiation. I don't say it out loud. I don't say it out loud. I don't say it out loud, though. It's just a way for me to imagine. It's a good thought, though. It's a way to use your imagination and get your brain working. That's all. You're reading into it. Okay. And Sean is our sound effects guy. You never said anything about... I didn't. I said I used my imagination. Where would she get the radiation from? It just depends. Like Silkwood? An industrial accident of some sort? Apparently I'm being stifled. I'd like to say how she would get the radiation. She is hired at San Onofre to go into those buildings with a little tachometer and find out if there's any radiation in there. Well, unbeknownst to Skye, there's a leak. But wouldn't my little meter thing show that? It sure did. And you were like, I'm out of here. Wouldn't I be wearing some sort of suit? You are. Yes. Well, actually, the people that you work for replace the batteries with really weak batteries. This is a joke. I like that, too. As a practical joke. It was too late. As a practical joke. They were like, you got punked. You're irradiated. Great. Sean's our sound effects guy. He's 37 as well. And.
And went prematurely gray. When did you start with the gray hair, Sean? Oh, man. 28. That is young. I love it. Salt and pepper. Distinguished. Yes. I hate it. Ashley is our assistant producer. She is 24 years of age. And she's got blonde hair and a dog. She's got a new dog. Yeah. And the dog is a female. Have you named the dog yet? No, I just have been calling her my precious. What? My precious. Yeah. So maybe her name will be precious. That might be what sticks because nothing else is really stuck. I think that's what Paris Hilton's dog's name is or one of those starlets. Well, I know one of them. I know she's got a lot. One I know is named Tinkerbell because I asked her if the dog ever went to the bathroom in her purse. You asked Paris Hilton that yourself? Yeah. Where did you meet her?
This was way back in the day when I used to work for 933. And I went to the Radio Music Awards, remember? And I hung out with you guys actually there. Years ago. Yeah, this was like four years ago. And I was interviewing all the different people 933 was interviewing. I got to ask everyone one question. Right. And I did a little bit that I had montage. You hear that noise? Yeah. I didn't do it. I didn't blow into the microphone that time when that noise started happening. Don't say that because you said that that's what causes it. That's what I thought caused it. Now I'm convinced it's a ghost again. Don't you start that again. Boston Rob is our phone screener. He is also Zeth's friend, and I'm going to add to it. Today, we add something to Boston Rob's. He is also a parody songwriter. What a title. He is a parody songwriter. How do you like that? This is his song that he just wrote about Aunt Jemima's syrup. Yes! So delicious. He said that he likes syrup and that he's never been able to afford syrup. Never. And now he's like... And you know what I realized? It was Skye's Vons card that she gave me for Christmas that I got it with.
That started all of this. You're welcome. That's right. I gave food to the needy. I do this each year. I'll buy Vaughn's cards and give them to the needy. And this year, Rob was lucky enough to be one of the beneficiaries of this. Well, I figured I could buy him another Red Sox shirt or I could actually feed the kids. That's right. So I hope you enjoy your $5 gift card to Vaughn's. Please don't spend it in one place. That's right. It's the thought. Hey Aunt Jemima, you go so great on my pancakes and I really like how you taste and the lady from the Land O'Lakes likes you too. It's a party on my plate for you, your headband too. Hey Aunt Jemima, on my flapjacks you do drizzle that copper-colored goodness so for shizzle, you're my nizzle, yes you are.
You make great body shots at the bar. Is that bizarre? Oh, I wish you were for free. Oh, bet you're from Tennessee. Oh, I'd bring you overseas. Oh, Bon Marquis. Whatever you and me. Hey, can't you buy my nectar from the maple gods? Wicked delicious. And I just can't believe that you come from logs. Wicked bizarre. Your savory serum can heal skies. Wicked bizarre. Put you in my teeth. I don't think he does. Oh, you're also loved by bees. I think he needed lyrics to try. Oh, you're wicked freaking sweet. Get on my feet. Now they're all sticky. Cause you're on my feet. All right, there you go. That's Sam Shimon. Such a weird ending.
But still a little hot. That's right. That's E-Rob's new parody song, Aunt Jemima. And then finally, the seventh member of the show is... Wait. Still nothing. I can't hear you. Sloth from Goonies? Huh? My name's Death? His name is Zeth. Oh. He is 22 years of age. Good kid. Boy, do I have something to tell you about him in a second. There are four people in the studio. We have a couple of trivia winners. We have P1AO, otherwise known as Ronnie. What up, dude? How you doing? Doing well and yourself? Nice to see you. I'm doing good. You're 24 years old. And it says here that your day job is that you are a pool guy. Yep.
Which is really a trip, man. Wait till you find out what a couple friends of ours in the studio do for a living today. I'll tell you that in just a second. You're going to school for radiology. Yes. SDSU. Yes. Wow. There you go. That's Ashley's alma mater. Yeah, what up? Guy does some, you do skating like rollerblades or what do you do? Roller skates. Old school. Roller skate. You go with the full on like wheels. Yeah. The four wheels. You should duck. Yeah, you shoot the duck? Come on. Now, wait a minute. Now, that is the only move I know. Ronnie, you've got to explain this, dude. You're 24, and I guess you know me. You can take one look at me. No, I'm not doing a lot of physical activity, but roller skating, do you find that there are other...
old-school roller skate enthusiasts that you find out there? Because I thought it was all rollerblades now. No, you'd be surprised. There's a lot of people out there that roller skate. Yeah. There you go, man. We know George Takai is like way into the roller skates. I really am. Oh, wow. That's a whole different kind of roller skating. George, every time we see you, you're in roller skates. Yes, I... I mean, they're pink, but they're... I love them, though. I belong to a few news groups with the roller skates, and I'll go on to the news groups and talk to various people about roller skates and sex. What? Oh, wait. That's scary. Well, I'm an adult, so... Well, you scared the crap out of me this morning when you rolled up to my window and were like, can you take my order? And I'm like, take my order? That's fine. And I don't even know what that means. I knocked on the window sort of hard on his window there. What should have scared him was that I was nude. That actually didn't scare me. We also have P1 Princess Bride in the studio.
Nice to have you here. You've got to talk right into that microphone, Princess Bride. Princess Bride actually lost in trivia, but she did really good. You know what I mean? He got to it before you, but you didn't miss one. You did really good. You've been listening to the show how long? A couple years now. It says that you are in... I believe that this is right. I've never heard of this before. You're in... Home respiratory sales. It's basically home oxygen for patients. Okay. Okay. I got you. So those are the small tanks, right? Well, we bring the big concentrators and then... Got it. It's exactly that. It's very cool. I need one of those every time I go up and down my stairs. Yeah. It'd be great. Me too. So welcome to the two of them. Guess who else is in the studio today? Who? P1 Matt Damon. Hey, man. Storm's moving in. Sean, what do you think the deal with that is? I think there's a short in the mic. I wonder if it's because Rob drops it all the time. We're playing football with it in the back office. That's right. Well, we're going to have to have engineering take a look at that because my guess is it'll do that through the entire show. Matt Damon is... Well, first of all, he's a...
He's a Hall of Fame P1. He's in the P1 Hall of Fame. You hear him? He doesn't call in as much. Let's get you over here to this mic, Matt Damon. How come we don't hear from you as much as we used to? What's up? Where have you been? Just working and whatnot. My boss listens to the show, so if I call him too much. Is that your boss sitting behind you? Yeah. His boss is also his brother, P1's son chaser. These guys are great, man. But the two of them, We're both involved in doing solar for our house, for our pool. That is great, man. You guys are awesome. Thank you. Let me tell you. P.W. Matt Damon. He was doing this during the summertime. And he did something that only guys, dudes that are in halfway decent shape can do. It was so hot. It was hot during the summer. And he was out there working with long sleeves on. And I thought to myself, and I talked to him about it, too. I said, no fat guy would ever do that. I would never be in this weather with a long sleeve. I said, why do you do it? Why the long sleeves? And you said it was something to protect you from the sun, right? Yeah, it just helps so I don't get sunburned. You're out there all day. Well, you've heard Sky's deal and what could happen with that sunburn. I actually don't know this. What do you mean? You've never heard the sunburn story?
Eddie? I don't remember. I might have. You don't remember it? I've seen Matt Damon. I've listened for a long time. I don't remember. You don't remember? Well, what happened was Sky got a sunburn. Now, a lot of us, we've had those. What we do is we put the aloe vera. The aloe vera soothes it. It feels fine. And then you're fine. Usually, you're good. But this one was extraordinarily painful. And so Sky went home. She had her mom come get her and take her home. This is when her and I worked together in San Jose in the afternoon show. And so, yeah, she went home. And then her mom, on the advice of a Kaiser call-in person, on the advice of a call-in person from Kaiser's helpline.
The person said you need to put urine on it. Well, no. First of all, that can't be true because it's ridiculous. You put that on like jellyfish stings. You don't put that on sunburns. That's so stupid. Who would buy that? Well, Skye's mom applied it and it didn't work. It didn't work. It didn't relieve the pain. Nothing could really except for heavy steroids and painkillers. Was it like a third degree burn? Like she had welts and everything? No, no. Skye describes it as a second degree burn. A second degree sunburn. A second degree sunburn. So she did have the welts and the bubbling up skin? No, guys, there was nerve damage. No. There was what, Ashley? There was what? Guys, she said it was nerve damage. She said it was nerve damage. That's what was really hurting her. I guess every sunburn has a certain degree of nerve damage. That is for sure. She does have a lot of nerve. That's right. That's true, too. That is accurate. So P1 Matt Damon's brother, P1 Sun Chaser's hanging out with us, too. And he's a solar contractor.
And so, very cool cats. Thank you guys for coming in. Hang out. Have a good time. Yeah, thanks. That was great. Get a little food later on for you fellas and you ladies and all of you guests in the studio today. Lots of things happening. There are a lot of things happening. 570-1053, what do you want to talk about? It's your talk show, San Diego. Yesterday we were talking about this kid. that got hurt during a high school football game. His name is Scotty Evelyn. And we were talking about him because he was going through physical therapy and his insurance company said, we're not going to pay for you to continue to do it. And we all know that story about insurance companies and insurance companies saying, we're not going to pay for this and we're not going to pay for that. basically they were controlling his future, his fate. He needs this physical therapy to continue for him to make progress. And basically what they were saying was, no, we're not going to do it. We're going to send him to, we'll pay for like either a nursing home or he can go home. I heard about it yesterday and it really, really upset me because I thought there has to be something that, I'll tell you, let me,
Tell you why it really upset me. The reason it really upset me was that story of that girl from a few weeks before. That story of the insurance company saying no to her liver transplant, her family making a lot of noise about it and getting a lot of media attention about it until the company was shamed and embarrassed and changed their position and said, okay, we'll pay for it. Then she died before she could get it because they had taken too long. Well, that story was really upsetting to me, and it was because I have a kid now. I got a son, and that's somebody's kid, that girl. It was someone's kid. And I thought to myself, that would really upset me. If that was me, that would really upset me. So I was upset by it, but I didn't really talk about it when we talked about the story. It upset me, but whatever. It was in my head. Then when this story came up, it kind of re-upset me. This story about Scotty kind of re-upset me.
And I said, you know, they should make a bunch of noise. The family should make some noise and get some media attention until this insurance company is shamed into helping Scotty. Sky says yesterday there were some pretty big developments in this story, right? Yeah, the California Department of Managed Health Care, as well as the governor, got wind of Scott Evelyn's story and yesterday reached out to Fox 6, who's in contact with Scott's parents, to let them know that they will back them fighting Blue Cross on this decision. Isn't that great? That's awesome. Cut 50. to be able to intervene on your behalf with Blue Cross. Oh, absolutely. You've made my day. I will tell you, you even came to the attention of Governor Schwarzenegger this morning, and he's very interested in making sure that we intervene on your behalf. I think that's great. Good. I'm really proud of Governor Schwarzenegger, and I think the whole thing is so great. And I got an email yesterday from Scotty. I say Scotty because that's what his dad said.
Apparently, people call him Scotty. The more emails I'm getting, everybody's referring to him as Scotty. And so his dad wrote me an email yesterday with his number, and it doesn't look like anything. It looks like it's going to get straightened out. That's great. I hope so. And I can't wait to follow the story, and I'm really glad for that family. I think it's great. We were supposed to be talking to a guy right now named John Bowermaster. Bowermaster? Is that how you say it? Correct. Now, you don't know his name, but the reason that this guy, we were going to have him on today, Eddie said, dude, this is kind of trippy. What do you think of this? This dude jumped in, got a whole bunch of guys together. They're like adventurers. And they're up in Antarctica. Down in Antarctica. Down in Antarctica. And they got kayaks. They're sitting in freezing conditions in kayaks. Why? They want to see if there's really anything up with the whole global warming thing. Oh, wow. Like, they want to go investigate. But I know that when I'm saying it, it makes it sound really like...
but he's not. He's a real scientist. He works for National Geographic and he does these kind of experiments. Awesome. Yeah, and he's measuring the ice or the water levels and stuff like that and checking on Ashley's penguins. I know. I saw it on the news last night and I was so happy. There you go. Because the temperature is rising twice the global average in Antarctica and the penguins aren't able to live because of the slushy water and the melting. You know, it's interesting. I was reading this data from, there's these patterns of when this will happen, and then it'll get cold again. And then what would freak me out was when temperatures here in the United States would go through the roof. They'd go through the roof in the summertime and break all these records. And then this winter, Denver just broke these records for freezing and for cold. I don't get that either. You know... It's all part of it. It's going to extremes. Just because it's called global warming doesn't mean it only has to do with heating. No, I know. I know. But it fits into patterns of what has happened. But not to this extreme. Like, there will be patterns of... Okay. But last year, the cold in Denver was only a few degrees different. So this one broke a record in Denver. But in other places, things are right within the normal thing. Like, stuff is...
What I'm saying is that any time a record is broken, and you can go back to 1935 and say, yes, but these are extremes. In 1935, you could have said that. You could have said these are extremes. And I would have said, well, how are they extremes? In 1935, I'd have said, how are these extremes? Because they just broke a record. And were they keeping track of weather data in 1685? How do we know? But again, we have much more database and research and all sorts of resources. to prove everything now, but, I mean, how do you fight the fact that the temperature is... That's a problem, Ashley. You know, rising twice the average. The problem is that we have data, we have data that prove both, that prove that global warming is true, and it's occurring, and we have very reputable data that says that it isn't, and that these are patterns that... I read a bunch of stuff where they're saying... This wasn't talked about in Inconvenient Truth. And this wasn't talked about in Inconvenient Truth. And so my personal opinion is I'm not too sure. I'm not going to say it's not happening. I just don't feel comfortable saying that. But don't you feel like it's better to just do everything you can to prevent it no matter what? No.
Well, that word everything scares us. Okay. They're on the side of caution. You're right. You're right. Because I always do that. Like I say everything, but I meant to say like, you know, but it's good to be aware and to do things, little things, you know? See, I think that Al Gore would like to do everything. Okay. And I'm not sure that I want to do everything. Little things. Little things. Like what? Please. We're going to take a break. But like what? Like little things like what? Like recycle. Like recycle. Change your light bulb. Recycle. Change your light bulb. Only do laundry. Solar panels. Only do laundry what? When you have a full load. Only do dishes when you have a full load. Don't run the water when you're washing your hands. Like run the water only when you're getting your hands wet. And then when you rinse them. Like little things. If you do it every day, you're saving so much stuff. Okay. I'm for that. I'm not for making that a law. But I'm for encouraging people to do that. Absolutely. For sure. There you go. All right, so here's what we have on the show today for you. We have news on a guy that's running for president named Ron Paul being a racist. Oh. And saying some crazy stuff about blacks. That's coming up. And by the way, he says, I didn't say that. And that's a pretty good imitation. That was like him being here. I didn't say that.
Well said. So that's coming up. A little thing called Ashley Pyramid is coming up where Ashley attempts to communicate with Sky. And so we'll do that. That's right. San Diego Charger, Eric Weddle. Get the jersey now. Get the jersey now for Eric Weddle. What else are we doing? Oh, Winter Plugs All is back today. We got a couple of guys coming in to play their acoustic music in the studio today. Awesome! Still didn't get to that email from the guy that got the tattoo and regretted it the next day. And we'll tell you why he regretted it the next day. I'm sure at some point we'll do the Aunt Jemima song again and the Dumb Chick Challenge. And I got, wait till I tell you, Zeth. Let's talk about Zeth when we come back. Yes. Oh, yeah. Let's talk about Zeth when we come back. The Mikey Show Stand-Up Spotlight 105.3. Vice President Bush, I'd start nominating and appointing fictional characters. Just to see if I could piss everybody off, right? Just get up there and go, hello, America. Gobble, gobble. We'll be replacing Donald Rumsfeld today. Rumsfeld? Whatever. Whatever.
I'm the only president who can answer a question like a 17-year-old girl, too. Like, whatever. Go up to the fist, because the hand don't exist. Boom, just gotcha. We'll be replacing Donald Rumsfeld with someone who is trained. Is that the funny part, yeah? In the art of defensification. Our new Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, please welcome Jedi Master Yoda. Get a guy in a Yoda costume, right? And he comes walking. You guys are awesome. One because of my girlfriend, Lynn, who turned me on. Home of the P1s and stuff like that. One more week, man. That is it. Seriously. It's a week left to get the best FCD. Furry up. Come on. You can get it at select cricket locations. If you want to know which cricket locations, because you're going well, which one's the closest one to me, just go to the website.
And we have the information on there on where you can get it. But it's a great Best Stuff CD. Yeah. You got to get a hold of it. And it's not the only great thing about Cricket. This Britney Spears needs Dr. Phil. Main reason why I went to see her, Eddie. I guess nobody else was willing to make a Mickey D's run for her. And she said to me, and I quote, you fly all by. What'd you get? So she got a Happy Meal. I got the Filet-O-Fish. I also got Junior Bacon Cheese. They don't have that at McDonald's. They don't have that at McDonald's. Yeah, they do. I know you said that you've got Tom Brady. Yeah, Tom Brady. I got Brandon Jacobs. I got... I got Thinko. I got Nick Folk as my kicker. Nice. Patrick Creighton. Nice. Which I'm hoping, you know, he's the number one if T.O. doesn't play too much. Let me tell you, as a guy who had Patrick Creighton during the season, there was this thing that I would always think, and it usually was about right. Like, there would be these little spells where opposing teams would forget about Patrick Creighton, and he'd blow up. Yeah. You know what I mean? I'm hoping that would be great. Yeah.
Did I do a time check? Yeah. 5701053 is our phone number. I give it to you because we're about to discuss Zeth's love life. Oh, I love it when we do this segment. Or lack thereof. That's right. I love this segment of the show. Zeth is 22 years old, and we were talking about him the other day. He's a lot like, even though he's 22, there may be a lot of you listening right now that are 42 that have a lot in common with Zeth. Through the process of talking to him a few times, I am of the opinion that Zeth is... A serial killer? No, no, no. I thought we were on the same. A compulsive liar. No, no, no. Not that either. No, I am of the opinion that Zeth has a fear of intimacy.
And a lot of people wonder, well, what is that? It's not necessarily physical intimacy, although that sometimes is a part of it. It's a fear of emotional intimacy, meaning that you reach that level with someone where you really are sharing yourself with them and they're sharing themselves with you. And what I found to talk to him after a while is he had this real bad relationship where the girl just dumped him out of the blue and it was devastating for him. It really hurt him. And so I said that what he's done is he's gone about making sure that will never happen again. And I said it's a very subtle thing that happens subconsciously and you don't really think about it, but it is a natural reaction that your brain produces to defend yourself against future attacks on the heart. And so he does this. He will sabotage relationships. And it's very subtle. He'll do it in ways like... When he's getting to know her and he's liking her, he'll curse. You know? Make inappropriate jokes. Inappropriate jokes. Inappropriate comments. Yes. I believe that it is within him to be a gentleman and to know how to be a gentleman. Yeah. But he does it this way because usually what it does, it chases them away and thus he doesn't get hurt. But Seth tells us this morning.
Because before the show, we said, anything going on with everybody? And Zeth says, have a date for Channel Christmas party. I said, really? And that is right. Our Christmas party is this weekend. I was going to say, isn't it a little early for that? 12 months before the party, he's already got a date. Well, no, it's actually a little late. For 08? Congrats. Christmas 08. So the Christmas party for Clear Channel is being celebrated this weekend. Woo! So stupid. That is so stupid. It's crazy. But anyway. But anyway. Happy holidays. Seth, who did you ask? Actually, I didn't ask anybody. It was a setup. Setup? Who set it up? Whoa. Is it a blind? No, I'll get to that. Who set it up? Sarah at the desk. Sarah at the front desk. Yeah. Is it a blind date? Yeah. It is. Whoa. You've never met the person. Nope.
You've never seen the person? I've seen pictures, yeah. On the computer? Yeah. Did she forward them to you or show them to you on her screen? She forwarded them. Forwarded them to you? Yeah. Have you seen a MySpace page? Yeah. You have? Yeah. Have you communicated in any way whatsoever with this person? No. None? Zero. Now that's unusual. That is unusual. So tell me about it, Zach. Tell me the story. I was talking to her in the front desk, asking her if she was going to go to the Christmas party or not, see what was going on with that. And she said, yeah, I'm going to go. You should take one of my friends if you're going to go. I mean, do you have a date? I was like, no. And she said, you should take one of my friends. I'll talk to her, see if she wants to go. And I guess she talked to her. And she said, yeah, I'll go with them. And so did she do the same thing with the girlfriend? Did she give the girlfriend pictures of you so the girlfriend knew what you looked like?
Yeah, she did. Oh, matchmaker. And so the girlfriend took a look at Seth. She said, yeah, he looks dangerous and challenging. I'd like to go out with him. He's like a jerk. Well, he looks pretty hard. Yeah. He's about six feet what, Seth? Three. He's 6'3". He's a thin guy. How much do you weigh? About 215. About 215, 6'3". He looks like a... Extra from American History X with that shaved head. He's got tattoos all over his arms. He looks dangerous, but he's a real sensitive and sweet kid. Do you still have that lip piercing? Do you still have the lip piercing? It's still there. I don't wear it very often. Hard. Well, you know. So, she sends the girlfriend pictures of you. Girlfriend says, sure, I'll go out with them. And then she reports to you, hey, my girlfriend said, sounds good. Yeah. What's the girl's name? Caroline. Sweet Caroline. Now, you never... Oh, no. Seth, you never had any interest at all in reaching out and saying hello? No. Yeah? You just figured, hey, I'll wait and I'll do this thing. Okay, now, if you haven't communicated, what is the plan?
With sweet Caroline. I have no idea. What do you mean you have no idea? Come on, dude. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Something just occurred to me. You know how Zeth massively exaggerates? Do you think that there is nothing really, like she's going and he's going, but that's the extent of it? It could be very possible. Like that he found out that... Like maybe Sarah at the front desk said, oh yeah, I have a girlfriend that's going. Totally possible. You should go too. And then when you're there, I'll introduce you or something like that. For sure, for sure, for sure. Oh, well, what are the travel plans? Oh, I really hope that's not the deal. Let's call Sarah. Let's call Sarah. Please don't let that be. He just said. Let's call Sarah. Let's call Sarah. Sky, I'm only just getting this right now. The only reason I'm saying that is because he just said, there is no plan. So Sarah didn't say you pick her up here at this time. We'll meet you guys. Yeah, I'm meeting them at Sarah's house, which is right by. The hotel. That is a date, then. All right. That is a date. There's no doubt about it. That's a date. Now, wait. Now, Zeth. Okay, so there doesn't... I guess there doesn't need to be any kind of real plan going into it because... Well, that's the plan. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Why didn't he say that? Hey, good times never felt so good. So good. Never seemed so good. Felt. Oh, shit. Ah, Eddie. How come he didn't say... He said, what's the plan?
The plan is to meet at Sarah's place. Yeah, yeah. There is no plan. All right, so the plan is you meet at Sarah's place, right? Right. Okay, and then are you... Then are you... Now, you guys, you got to give Seth the breaker. He'll clam up. Okay, you're the best. He'll clam up. Don't placate me, this guy. Wait, you guys. You're a sexy lover, man. Wait till he's done. Oh, okay, okay. You got game, man. Thank you. He is a very wise man. So, Zeth, so what is the plan from Sarah's to the extraordinarily late and inappropriate Christmas party? That we haven't figured out. We're going to talk about it today. I suggest all going together. I think if you make them have to travel their... They just met for like two minutes. That's really weird. So I suggest all traveling together. Can we go back to why Zeth hasn't reached out to her yet and maybe discuss that a little more? Sure. Zeth, I mean, it never crossed your mind for a second to drop her a MySpace and say, hey, we're looking forward to meeting you. Maybe an inappropriate joke. No, it didn't even cross your mind. Can I answer the question, Sky? Please.
Yes, it did cross my mind. I'm Zeth. Oh, yes, Zeth. Yes, it did cross my mind. You don't sound like that. Oh, much more accurate. Yes, it crossed my mind. But? I don't want to. Why? Well, like, that's a little intimidating. I don't really want to do that. Like, what am I going to say? You know, I don't, I would just rather wait until we meet on Saturday. The idea of it was just a little much. The whole thing. It's kind of strange. But you don't think it would be nice just to say something nice? I mean, you don't have to write a novel, just something brief and like, hey, looking forward to meeting you. I understand what you're saying. And, you know, logically, sure, that makes sense. Intellectually, that makes sense. But you have to understand my psychology here. I'm intimidated by the whole thing. Oh, okay.
Zeth, can I do it for you? No. Absolutely not. Definitely not. Think about it. It's an icebreaker, dude. It takes away that first awkward moment. You already have something to talk about. What would you write, Rob? Am I writing from my angle or for Zeth? You're writing for Zeth. You just drop them a comment. Just something quick, sweet. Hey, looking forward to Saturday. Something just, you know what I mean? Don't even get into it and let them respond. So one sentence? One line. A one line. And you can do it as a comment, not as a message. A comment, not even an email. And let them... Oh, on the MySpace. You make it a MySpace comment. Yeah. And if they don't respond, then you know what? At least you reached out, but they're going to respond. All right, Rob. Yeah. Now your angle. Oh, gosh. What would you do? What would Rob do? What would Boston Rob do? Gross laugh. Wrong tea. Wrong tea, dude. Okay, down boy. Oh, goodness. Yeah. Well, Mike, I'm engaged now, so I can't really answer that question. Okay.
Eddie, what do you think of the MySpace comment of, hey, looking forward to Saturday? I wouldn't have done it. Wouldn't have done it? I wouldn't have done it. Let's wait. Let's take a break. When we come back, I want to know why Eddie is against the Boston Rob idea of making a comment. Because on the surface, I'm in it with that. It doesn't sound bad so far, but Eddie, talk me out of it. We'll be right back. Is the Mikey Show. Hey, I love the Mikey Show. You know what? You guys are awesome. I do, too. I appreciate it every day. Thank you, brother. All right, every six months they save you how much? $600 because I had it suspended on my record when I finally got my license when I was 25 years old. I never drove before. Before we went to break, we were talking about how one of the guys on our show, Zeth, who's been single for a while, has a date, a set-up date, a blind date, this weekend on Saturday, which me and you should talk on the phone today, Zeth, kind of get you prepared. And then after that, call me. Oh, no. Bad idea. My conversation with you, Zeth, will be a conversation about what not to say. Oh. Everything. Your conversation with Rob, just try to strike it from your memory, but... Well, anyway, before we went to break, I just turned around and realized Zeth's not in the room. All right. Okay. Oh, no. Yeah, I just realized he's not in the room. Okay. Wow.
he's running around doing stuff for us. That happens a lot, actually. That's so funny. And I'll go, hey, Zeth. You're not here. This guy's like, you fired him a month and a half ago. Well, anyway, before we went to break, Boston Rob said he thought that a cool move would be to go to her, because he's been looking at pictures on her MySpace, and Boston Rob said, well, why don't you leave a short comment? A short comment like what, Rob? Just like, hey, looking forward to Saturday. Okay. Hey, looking forward to Saturday. And Rob says she will respond no matter what. Not no matter what, but if not, then weirdo. Right. Now, Eddie, before we went to break, Eddie, our producer says, no, I would not do that. Eddie, why would you not do it? For...
Pretty much that reason right there. There is a slight chance where even if she doesn't get the comment before the weekend, it's in my head now like, oh, great, I made that move and she didn't respond. Does she think I'm creepy? All these doubts have crept into my mind now if she doesn't respond. And since it's a pure blind date, I'm going to go into it with an open mind and I'm just going to go in and just see what happens. He talked me into it. Whoa, whoa. I'll tell you why. I'll tell you why. He talked me into it. He talked me into it because, well, first of all, there's nothing in what he said that is not potentially absolutely true. If she does not respond, Eddie's right. You're going to be like, oh, man, she didn't respond. What's up? Like, I'm kind of out then. immediately because i'm like well i'm trying to be a gentleman i get what you're saying rob nothing you're saying is wrong like you're trying to be a gentleman make a first move just be like hey you know i'm just kind of putting it out there but by putting it out there now you're making now you're risking it you're already set up with a date
You got some what-ifs going on now. Now doubt is creeping into my head. The thoughts could be, oh, she read it and she didn't respond because she's rude. The thought could be, maybe she didn't read it at all. The thought could be, maybe she read it and she thinks I'm weird. I think that there could be a lot of potential what-ifs going on in your mind. But you really have to, when you put that comment out there, you have to not even expect anything back and do it light-heartedly. And then the great thing about that is, is if she doesn't respond, and let's say... Saturday night, things start going really well. It's almost like you can use that as a funny joke. Like, oh, so you were too cool to comment me back. You know what I mean? You can work it in there. There are many angles you can take with this. You know, I've said this before. Expectations are resentments under construction. Now, if you do what Rob's saying and you go into it with no expectations, zero. I'm writing this and my expectation is that she will not write back. Now you've set the expectation of nothing. So if you do not hear back, it's not a surprise, and that's what you've expected. If you do hear back, now she's exceeded your expectations. What about that, Eddie? No, I still think it's risky. I'm going into the date with no expectations. I mean, it's a blind date. You're not really knowing what to expect. You've never had a conversation with her. So I would just go into the date, no expectations.
Talk to her a little bit, see what happens. If we have good chemistry, it's great. If not, then no harm, no fell. 570-1053, I want to hear from P1s. Lots of people calling in. P1 Big Mike, are you there? Yeah, Mikey, what's up? Not too much, dude. Dude, this is kind of hurtful, man. It's like watching a guy with all the raw talent, but just none of the ability. Yeah. What he needs to do is, there are so many resources on that show. B-Rob's like the little playboy. He can talk to any girl whatsoever. Eddie can get any girl into a conversation and keep them laughing. Ashley can tell you whether you're full of it or not. You have the sincere side. I mean, he's got everything right there in his grasp, and he just sits on it. Well, what do you mean he's got resources, meaning that he could talk to all the different people on the show? Just soak up information. Pay attention to what's going on around him. He's like a mini-celebrity now. Time to start using that. The one thing that has been hard to... Stress upon Zeth is exactly what you just said of, hey, talk to us. Now, Zeth, I've told you that a million times. Oh, we're still gone. He's still not here. He's not here anymore. But I agree with you, Big Mike. I think you're absolutely right that he should be using the resource. Oh, here's Zeth. Look who it is. There he is. All right, Zeth, have a seat. You're missing all our good advice. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Never heard of it.
Basically, Seth, what Big Mike was saying is that you've got to use the resources that you have around you, meaning Eddie, myself, Boston, Rob. You've got to use resources. Even if you don't use the idea, you get them. You get ideas. And you can talk to the ladies, too. I know Mike didn't want to include me and Ashley as a resource. Actually, no, Big Mike didn't want to include you. He did include Ashley. I'm just saying. He actually didn't include you. We're here, too, Seth. Hey, listen, I didn't want to point that out, but Sky was the only one he said don't go to. I have to agree. So go to Ashley or myself or Eddie or Rob. Big Mike is my friend. Indirectly. But, you know, use the resources minus Sky and go for it, man. For sure. For sure. P1 Johnny. Johnny, are you there? I'm here. Go ahead. You know, listening to Eddie tell him not to go do it kind of makes him sound like he's got a lack of self-confidence problem. I think Zess should go for it. Girls like self-confidence. Tell him to write her on MySpace. How is an omission a lack of confidence? If you're not putting yourself out there, how is that a lack of something?
Well, for the fact alone that now she knows, I mean, that he works on the show. I mean, she's got to be listening to something. So now she's hearing everybody tell him not to go type in on MySpace. Hang on a second, though. Hang on a second. Spaceboy just sent me an instant message that makes a lot of sense. He says you can't leave a comment unless she has added you as a friend on MySpace. That's true. So in order for him to be able to make the comment, what do you say to that, Rob? What would you do now? That they're not friends on MySpace? Yeah, they haven't been... Or are you? No. No, they're not. They haven't been added to each other's MySpace. Be proactive, dude. What are you waiting for? Get on that. So you're saying ask her to add Seth as his friend. You're going on a blind date with her. You can't be friends on MySpace, too? To me, this whole MySpace thing is so bizarre to me. It's the new school, man. I understand. And it kind of creeps me out. If I was Zeph and I was in the middle of this thing, I don't know that I'd want any of this to be out there yet. He's never even met this girl. He doesn't know anything about her. I agree with that. So he's adding her on MySpace, leaving comments, and all this stuff before they've even spoken, seen each other, anything. To me, I'm waiting until Saturday, see what happens. If we hit it off...
Then we're adding, commenting, all that junk. I like it. That's the old school. I'm just, you know. It's old school. New school. That's old school. That's old school. P1 Elwood. Elwood, are you there? Hey, what's up, Mikey? Not too much, dude. Hey, he's making a huge mistake by not talking to her first. I mean, what if she's just a total idiot and a moron? Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hang on. Time out. Now, this girl is a friend of someone that he knows pretty good and that he trusts her opinion. Yeah, but that doesn't... I've been set up by friends, too, and the people have turned out to just be total dips, you know? You want to spend two hours at a Christmas party with somebody you don't get along with? Well, I mean, for one, that's the whole point of a blind date, you know? So that's the one thing. And two, it ain't like Zeth's got anything else going on. Wait, no! I heard Zeth has a lot going on, just in case she was listening. Hey, nothing personal. Where did you hear that, Sky? On stuffgoingon.com. There you go. Yeah.
I did not. I read on That's Not True dot com that that's not true. What? I read that same report. Internet. Mikey Show. Hi. That was not a P1. Yeah, his radio turned up. You got to have your radio turned down. That MySpace thing, it's so a part of culture now that it's like... It's added a whole dynamic to dating. It's changed everything. Wow. Change everything. I feel like it causes more problems than not in terms of, like, relationships. Like, I've seen so many people break up, fight, all this. Like, one of my friends broke up with her boyfriend because she caught him cheating through MySpace. My ex-boyfriend broke up with me, and a lot of the reason was stuff that he found on my page. Like, crazy. I don't know. I thought you'd get a look. Well, I mean, my first thought is, yeah, she found out he was cheating through MySpace, but I think the real reason they broke up is because he was cheating. Oh, yeah, totally. But the MySpace thing, you can just find out stuff. They'll find out, oh, you were talking to your ex? What was that? As opposed to the cool old days when guys would cheat and you didn't know. It's much better than mine. It took a lot more work. Well, it'll be something like, let's say I made a comment on my ex-boyfriend's MySpace page wishing him a Happy New Year. Serial? Yes, I did stereo. And then if I had a boyfriend right now, then he would be like,
What the hell's up with that? Why are you commenting your expression? Sky, so I think what Ashley's saying, and that is that it could be something innocent that turns into something. Yeah, definitely. But then again, that goes back to the insecurities of the relationship. Yes, it does. Yes, it does. But I'll tell you what, man, that thing changes everything, MySpace. It's a whole different way of operating now. P1 Bender, are you there? I'm here, man. Go ahead. Hey, you know, I'm telling you, this MySpace thing, first of all, gets out of hand. And I agree with B-Rob on the whole comment thing, if they were already friends. Like, that's the kind of thing to drop a note and just say, hey, looking forward to Saturday night. But for her to see that he had hunted her down on MySpace and to try to add her as a friend before the blind date, I think that's kind of stalker-ish. I do, too. Well, I don't think it's stalker-ish, but I think it's a little too much. It's over the top and unnecessary. Unnecessary. Perfect. It's a blind date. Go into it blind. Yeah. Unnecessary. Thank you very much for the call.
P1 Chimuko. Hey, what's up, Mikey? A coworker of mine said something pretty funny a little while back. He said he should Google her. Zeth should Google that girl. We just talked about that the other day on the air. Think about that. Zeth may be a Googler. Let's see what's up with that. No. Well said. P1 Chelsea? Yep. What do you think? I was going to tell Zeth that since he's not friends with a girl on MySpace, that he could shoot her a message without... having to leave a comment, and you can do that without being someone's friend, and just, hey, hey, I'm excited for Saturday or whatever, and kind of put the ball on her court without any expectations, and maybe, you never know, she might turn around and add him as her friend, and he wouldn't have to go through that trouble. Hey, Chelsea, what's the rush? Oh, there's no rush. There's no rush. I say, you know. But I think it's a nice gesture. I think it, you know.
plants a seed in her mind that he's a good guy. What if you think that, that it's a nice gesture, but what if she thinks it's a little too much? If you hadn't done anything, you avoid any issues. Okay, listen. What do we know about women? Most women don't like the gentleman. I'm sorry, they don't. They don't like the guy that's the nice guy. So, that's not being rude by not... leaving her a comment, but he's also not putting himself out there like, you know what, I'm the nice guy, hi. Yeah, but we like guys who have game. And having game also is like, eh, whatever. I think having game is being smooth. What do you know? Hang on. I think that women... I know a lot. My husband... I think that women... Well, I have to. I have to. I have to. You do. I think that... Women enjoy a challenge. Well, of course. Women like a challenge. You're absolutely right. So even if a woman is trying to find Mr. Right and not Mr. Wrong, let's say that a woman really is committed to finding a good man, good guy. I think she still likes a challenge. A guy can be a challenge without being a bad guy. Right. I challenge my wife. I challenge her. She is challenged by me.
We challenge each other. We're challenging. Okay. But, you know, I think that that keeps a zestiness in the zethiness. Zethiness. What I want to tell Zeth is just to play it really, really cool and laid back and don't fall too quickly. Because that's his biggest problem. Tough love it is. Tough love. Biggest problem. You think that he falls too quickly? Like that he falls in love too quickly? Are you kidding me? We've already ruined it for him. Are you kidding me? Yeah, don't ruin it for him. Oh, me don't ruin it for him. What have you done? You just exposed the whole thing for two breaks on the air. Way to ruin it. Hang on a minute. Wait a minute. Debbie Downer, come on. No, she's not ruining it. I think we've all ruined it. How have we ruined it? By having this conversation. We're giving advice to a friend that would be given. It's so generic. It's not very specific like guy falls in love too quick. You know what I mean? Like we're giving very generic. The guy does have gonorrhea. What about that? Have you guys mentioned herpes, gonorrhea, and the AIDS that he had? You guys are really helping. He doesn't have any of that. We don't know. Nobody knows. We don't know. What's a P1? P1.

Transmissions, oil, brakes, tune-ups, cooling systems. If these are the things that you are having issues with right now, by the way, if it's transmission, you'll know because that engine light comes on. If you're having any of these issues, take it to Amco. Now... The reason that I'm saying that is that many of you, when you get this issue going on where you need an oil change or you need your brakes done or you need something's going on with your transmission, the first thing that I think a lot of us think is the dealership. Don't do it. Now, I'm telling you that because I went down to Amco and I talked to the big guy that's in charge. It's a guy that owns a few of these Amcos. John Amco? John Amco. Yeah. Let's call him John Amco. Yeah, he's great.
And what I found out through these conversations with him is that the dealerships want to replace stuff and Amco wants to fix stuff and that's a lot cheaper. So they're going to honor almost all extended warranties. There's no reason that you shouldn't be going to Amco. I've told you before, I don't do an endorsement unless I truly believe in it. And I 100% truly believe in Amco. I remember leaving there, going home and talking to my wife and going, babe, Amco is really good. So, I take my car to Amco. You should be taking your car to Amco. you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Okay, taking a look at our morning commute here. We've got North 805, kind of jammed up Imperial Avenue, off and on slowing up through the North Park area. Southbound 5, a little bit of slowing coming down the coastline, Santa Fe to Manchester. Westbound 8, you're tied through La Mesa. Westbound 94, that's a crunch getting right into downtown, you know, and then making that transition to the northbound 5 ramp as well. Other than that, no major incidents to report to you, and that's always a cool thing. I'm John Monte with traffic on Rock 105.3. Is this Rebecca? Yes, it is. I understand that you went to sleep train. Yes, I did. What happened? Well, my husband and I went back last May. We just got married, so we bought our new mattress. We got a really good deal on it. They threw in free sheets and pillows because we said we heard about it through you. And they also gave us the free mattress protector, so it was really cool. And I referred my mom to go there because she is buying a bed for my grandmother just this last week. And she went to the Cardi Mesa store, and they actually beat the price on Costco. Sleep Tank was selling it for, I think, around $1,000, and then the Costco price was like $500-something. So they beat that, which is awesome. They just won Best Mattress Store, and there's a reason for it. They're really good.
The prices are great, and if you're getting one of these good name brand mattresses, or no matter what you're looking for, they're great. How is that mattress in terms of being comfortable? It's awesome. I can't get out of bed in the morning. It's really comfortable. That is good stuff. Thank you. You got it. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. Now, in case you missed it, this is a Mikey Moment. Do you want old man's? Yeah, my brother used to pin me down. Bear butt and fart on my face. You got the bear butt? We're talking the difference between a shotgun and a sawed-off shotgun. The Mikey Show continues. It's the Mikey Show at 7.32. Pam Anderson is denying reports that she is pregnant. This is fantastic news. Brett Favre indicating he's going to return for another season. How about that, Eddie? Congratulations, Eddie. Thank you. How long is that Aaron Rodgers going to have to wait until he is able to play some football for that team? That kid has just been sitting there waiting now. When did he... 04? 05? 04. Oh, my. Was it really that long ago, dude? The draft that Alex Smith was drafted in. So, yeah, it was 04. That's... Wow. Poor guy. Probably wants to play some football. You would think.
Well, there that is. I want to say thank you to Pisa's Place. They are a restaurant that brought in some food today. They're located at 109 Hammashaw Road in El Cajon. And they have all kinds of stuff today. They brought in some Italian beef sandwiches, some Chicago-style hot dogs, and they do catering. It was really good. Yeah, so you probably want to give these guys, especially if you're out in East County, Pisa's Place, really good stuff. And if you're a fan of the Chicago Dog, the idea of the Chicago Dog is it's got tomato, pickles, onions, and it's a very unique way to do the traditional hot dog. It's pretty cool. Peppers, you put a little celery salt on there. Yeah, it's pretty good. The different things that you put on there is real tasty. Michael Corleone did this. And Michael Corleone did that. So I said, dish. It's the liverwurst with Witzcracker. It's a Witzcracker and chopped liver. Now, we are looking for... We're getting Eric Weddle on the phone. Is he 31? 32. Yep.
Eric Weddle is a rookie for the San Diego Chargers, and he's real good. Yeah, he is, and he's going to get a lot of playing time this week because, you know, the Colts, you know, they run those three wide receiver sets and things like that, and he'll probably be covering Dallas Clark. Oof. No fun. I was walking through the kitchen the other day and saw the People magazine laying there, and I said to my wife, Misha Barton is falling apart? And she goes, huh? And I go, it says right here, Misha Barton falling apart. Most of us know Misha Barton as the little girl who throws up in the sixth sense. Marissa from the OC. Oh, yeah. Some people know her from that, too. I'd say most people. I would. I thought most people, as soon as you say Misha Barton, they think of that little girl throwing up in the sixth sense. That two minutes of screen time. That ghost. That creepiness. Now, you remember from the OC in...
Now, she was dating this guy named Crisco. I think his name was Crisco. Crisco Adler. What is it? And you know why they broke up? They broke up because, remember some dude bought the contents of Paris Hilton's storage facility? Well, when it was coming out in the media and the internet, All the stuff that was in there. One thing that was in there was a nude photograph of Crisco. Cisco. Okay. And so Misha was like, hey, why does Paris have a naked picture of you? That is odd. And he was like, I don't know. I don't remember. Damn you, internet. Yeah. Well, ever since the breakup with Crisco, they've said that it's been pretty tough on Misha. And she got a DUI and she went on a radio disc jockey in... Los Angeles County. His name is Rian Secrest. Rian Secrest. Never heard of the girl. Come on, man. Give him props. He deserves it. That's right. Misha was on his radio show yesterday talking about the DUI Cut 12. About 9, 10 days ago, you were pulled over, you got in the car, and they arrested you, correct?
Yeah, yeah. So what happened? I got a DUI when I was back in L.A. over the break. What happened? Well, I mean, I was pulled over just that. Obviously, I'm 100% responsible for my actions in this case, and I'm really disappointed in myself. I don't know what to say about it, except that I'm not perfect, and I just don't ever intend to do something this stupid again. Wow, she really has a deep voice for a young woman. Yeah. That surprised me a lot. to hear when she started to speak there. Yeah. I'm always surprised when I see someone and I don't know what they speak like and then I hear a very commanding voice. So anyway, that was Misha Barton. Dr. Phil says that he knows... Listen, you can get all upset about him for what happened with what he said and what went on between him and Brittany's family, but you guys don't know. What? Cut one. There's some... A spokesperson that's been out there talking to the contrary. And I'm just sitting here saying I know the truth. And so does everybody in the Spears camp. I just figure this will work itself out like everything else does. How about this one? Cut to. Right now, people need to be focusing on Britney, not on me. So am I glad they stepped up and told the truth about everything? Sure. Glad to hear it. Another way to say that is look over here. Yeah.
It's another way to say that. Hey, look over to this direction right here, and I'm going to sneak out the side door while you're looking. Well, Dr. Phil, if you didn't want us focusing on you, why did you put out a press release about your time with Britney? Well, if you had read the press release, it said... I mean, I did. I read most of it. The very top of the press release said, look at Britney. No, it did not. It did. It did not. All eyes on Britney. I mean, maybe that part got cut off in the fax machine or something. I'd look into a new fax machine, lady. I never saw that. By the way, Sky, there's something right behind you. You better turn around. And I'll see you later. Where'd you go? Come back. Maybe press release that Sky's got a fax machine. Yeah, that's right. Got a beeper, too? I think we should press release that. People don't use fax machines anymore? Yes, they do. Not very much. Yes, they do. Really? Yeah. Okay. I have a fax machine. Yeah, I just, I mean, doing real estate transactions, you've got fax to sign the documents and fax them. Actually, I've been using them, too. I like the joke, though. It was good. Well, no, it wasn't. I'm buying you a fax machine, Eddie. Do you guys know who Ron Paul is?
Yeah, he's the one that you see the spray painted signs on the overpass to Google him. That is correct. See the influential guy? That actually is correct. In fact, I said to my wife last night, I said, honey, who is Ron Paul? She hates when I quiz her. I do it all the time. Seriously, all the time I do this with my wife, I quiz her. Honey, what is? And she goes, don't do that. Just tell me. Thank you. I go, honey, who is Ron Paul? She goes, oh, she was watering plants. She goes, when you tell me this one, I'm going to know it as soon as you say it. Yeah. He's a magician. She goes, yes. No, honey, he's running for president. Ron Paul is running for president. He's one of these Republican candidates. But nobody's, you know, he's not really making any noise in any of these primaries or caucuses or whatever. But anyway, yesterday, this news breaks that he had sent out a newsletter in the 90s. And he said some pretty crazy stuff in the newsletter. Yeah. Like, give me some examples, Sky.
Well, just going into it for the record, he says he was not the author of these newsletters, even though the newsletter had his name on it. But he doesn't know who wrote it, but somebody wrote it. Whatever. Okay, so one part says that the LA riots back in 92 ended because all the blacks went to pick up their welfare checks. Refers to Martin Luther King Jr. as a pro-communist philanderer. Let's see. Goes on to say that blacks are criminals who terrorize our cities in riots and in everyday non-riots. Not exclusively young black males, but largely it's them. Because as children, they're trained to hate whites, to believe in white oppression, that it's responsible for all the black ills, and to fight the power, and to steal and loot as much money from the white enemy as possible. Okay, now like Sky says. Ron Paul is on CNN yesterday after this breaks and he goes, I didn't say any of it. He says he doesn't know anything about this newsletter. He's never done anything. He's never seen it. Never heard of it. But then I thought it was interesting. He said, it's time to stop rehashing stuff like this. What?
And I thought, well, how do you rehash something that you've never heard of? Yeah. Right. To rehash means that you bring something up that's old news, you're tired of hearing about it. How do you rehash something brand new? That's very bizarre. Never heard of it. If we came up with a brand new game that we were going to play on the Mikey Show, and I said that we're rehashing it, that would be odd. We've never played it. So how do you rehash something that's brand new? Anyway, so... That was a big story yesterday, and it's up to you whether or not... Listen, they're showing a picture of it on CNN, and it's got letterhead. You know what I mean? It's a paper newsletter, and so you're like, well, if somebody made that up, it's pretty clever. I mean, it's pretty clever, because it looks... But very authentic. Oh, yeah. So, somebody is doing it because they want to hurt the guy's campaign. They did a good job of making it look real, that's for sure. It's garbage! There's a woman in Iowa who says that she is the meanest... She's declared, I am the meanest mom. I am. Really. Period. On the planet. And, you know, hopefully nobody disputes it. We want her to win. Awesome! Why is she the meanest mom?
Well, after her son was caught with booze in his car that she had just bought for him, she decided to sell it. And she took an ad out in the paper that said, totally uncool parent who obviously doesn't love teenage son selling his car. Only driven for three weeks before Snoopy mom who needs to get a life found booze under the front seat. $3,700 or best offer. Call meanest mom on the planet. I don't understand, Skye. Will you explain it? Why is she? Why? Like, I don't get it. Is she being sarcastic? Well, yeah. And what's the point of sarcasm in this situation? So she's taking away the car and selling it. And in my interpretation, these are all things that he said to her in response. You're the meanest mom. You're so uncool. You're ruining my life. So when she decided to take out the ad to sell the car, she included all of his comments. Right, right, right. Humiliation. Yeah, and it's now making news. I gotcha. I wonder.
I wonder how he feels about that. Yeah. Wow. So, she found a bottle of booze? Is that what you said? Um, yeah. Found booze under the front seat. Betty, what do you do if you find booze under the front seat? Oh, man. That is... Does punishment fit the crime? Um... Well, you know, I don't know that I'd sell the car. I'd definitely take the car away. And any kind of driving privileges would be gone for a long, long time. How long? How long? Probably a month. And I would try to enroll him or her in some sort of like drunk driving. classes or education that they would understand. I mean, that's no joke, man. You don't want to mess around with that kind of stuff. Yeah, the mom says she hasn't sold the car yet but was flooded with calls once the ad came out from people congratulating her for being a good parent and doing the right thing. Sky, what do you think? What would you do if you found a bottle of booze under your son's front seat?
Now, would you be studying his dress to see if he spilled any booze on that dress and you can catch him red-handed and say, hey, look, don't you lie to me. I got some... Just because one time I said I wouldn't stop my child from playing dress up doesn't mean that I'm going to force my child to wear a dress. You said he's going to wear a pink dress. I never said that. Every day. You said it would be his uniform. No, never said that. Never said that. So anyway, what would you do? Yeah, definitely car privileges taken away. It would depend if he bought the car for himself or if I bought the car for him. Give me both. If he bought the car for himself, privileges taken away for like a month. If I bought the car, I think I may go as far as selling it.
And saying, hey, you ruined it, dude. This isn't a joke. This is some serious stuff. People can lose their lives. What if he says, it wasn't mine. My friend had it. I didn't know he did that. Blah, blah, blah. Your friend had booze in your car. When we were parked. And you didn't know it. When we were parked. And then I must have just thrown her away there. I came right home. I didn't have a drop of alcohol. So all your friends were drinking. No. My one friend was. Just one guy was drinking by himself. Well, the rest of us were there, but yeah, he had that bottle. Well, you need to pick better friends because that's hard for me to believe. It's on you now, buddy. You need to pick better friends and that's the end. I understand. Thanks, Mom. Too bad. You're welcome, son. That's it? Sky, I got another one for you. That kid's doing a beer bong now. Sky, bad parenting. Now he's doing a beer bong and throwing up. Now he's just doing straight shots. And that's gasoline. What a rebel. Sky, question. That's his friend doing that. Sky, let's say your son told you that. What Eddie said. Would you
Call that kid's parents and tell them what your son told you. How old are we talking? 17. 17. Oh, they're practically an adult, Sky. These are hard questions. They are. They think they know more than you. That is a far out question. I mean, it really depends on who the friend is, what my relationship is with the parents. But if I have a relationship with those parents. Oh, yeah. Well, that almost goes without saying, though. Then, yes, there will be a conversation. That one kind of goes without saying if you know them. But let's say, you know, it's your son's friend. I would say to my son, are you standing by that story? Because I'm going to call their parents his parents. Yeah, and your son's like, Mom, don't. Yes, I stand by my story, but please don't break my trust and do that. That's why I told you the truth. That's why I told you the truth. But you didn't tell me that truth. You didn't tell me I'm not allowed to say anything. No, I didn't. And plus the fact if your friend is putting you in trouble. But you'd rather have lied, Mom. You could have gone to jail that night. I trusted you, Mom. Well, you didn't tell me this was a secret. No, but I trusted you. I trusted that you wouldn't do that.
Well, why would you trust me to not do that? Because you're my mom. I'm supposed to be able to trust you. Yeah, as your mom, I'm supposed to enforce the rules. And you just told me that somebody planted alcohol in your car, a minor, who was drinking. Well, isn't that what you're saying? That your friend put it under the seat without your knowledge. You have no clue. You're not my real mom. But I am. Here's your birth certificate. All right, Mom. You want to see the scar? So you're going to call and you're going to tell his parents. The scar? That's disgusting. That's hideous, Mom. Mom, you're disgusting. Mom, you break boundaries. Mom, I'm going to hit the button on you. What? Did anyone catch that? No. Sean didn't hear it? Just move on. No, no. I didn't hear it at all. Just move on. Anyway. Sky is crazy. What else did you say? So you're telling the parents, huh, Scott? You're a dick, dude. Oh, no, no. Eddie's a dick. Let's talk about that. Let's talk about that. That's a topic. Language. Carolyn, you there? Yes, I am. What did you want to say? I wanted to say that in the state of California, if your child is a minor and he's under 18 and you feel he's unresponsible to drive, you can go down to the DMV and take away his license.
So that he has to take driver's ed and all that all over again. Well, that's great. That's pretty drastic. Do it. So is drinking and driving. Do it all. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm thinking to myself, I wonder if you could deal with it at home before having to go to the extremes of the DMV. Well, you know, if he didn't have that great lie that I told and basically was caught drinking and driving or having some sort of alcohol and driving. then that is a measure that I would probably take that measure. Go to the DMV? Sure. You lose your license, pal. Now, this is going to come as a shock to everybody, but I disagree with Sky on this one about how to handle it with the kid. Oh, I'm being totally shocked by that. I know. Do you disagree? I think that people may be shocked by that. Is this the first time? Shut the front door. You guys are always on the same page. We usually agree on everything. Yep, it's true. We're like we share a brain. That's right. But in this particular situation, I feel like I might be teaching my kid to lie to me in the future. And so if my kid said, hey, dad, I don't want you to tell so-and-so's parents, I would say, if that's what you want me to do, then I'm not going to talk to the parents about it. However, the rule for you is that kid is not allowed in your car anymore with booze.
And if this happens again, because I'm going to respect you as a young man, I'm going to respect you with this situation, but I'm telling you that if this happens again, there's not going to be any discussion about, am I talking to parents, blah, blah, blah. Now, in the future, if that kid goes out and drinks again, kills somebody, blah, blah, blah, and the parents come to me and say, why didn't you tell me, yeah, yeah, yeah, my answer to that is, Instead of trying to get upset about me about what kind of parent I am, maybe you should be asking yourself what kind of parent you are. Snap. Because my responsibility... And then Eddie would come in and say snap and then run out. And he would say snap and then split. Right, okay, cool. You know, because I honestly, I think you got to deal with your kid. You know, you got to raise your kid. You can't be responsible for raising other people's kids. Let them raise their kids. But don't parents, like, aren't parents supposed to kind of have an alliance with each other? Yeah, mate. To, you know, work together. Don't you think that? I mean, seriously. Parenting. How many times? Where is that?
And listen, don't forget parents have parents. They're called grandparents. But you don't want parents to teach other kids. You only want the parents to teach their kids. Or like their grandparents to teach their kids. Or their parents to teach their grandparents. No, the grandparents teach parents when they're kids. Yeah. What about foster parents of grandparents? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Don't forget about that. Yeah, sue them. And don't forget about Letterman's Company, Worldwide Parents. What? Pen. What? Pen. Yeah, that. To work and I got the biggest smile on my face to hear you in the game. 5-3. Do we have him yet? What's that? Okay, great. Then tune up that banjo and let's get ready to roll because Cowboy Cow is on. Well, howdy. I'm Cal Worthy. Hey, how would you like to have a brand new 08 Dodge loaded? I mean loaded with everything you ever wanted and get $6,000 cash back. Well, does that sound good? Well, trade me that old car. I'll pay it off and I'll send you home in a brand new 08 Dodge loaded and give you $6,000 cash. Again, trade me that old car. I'll pay it off. I'll send you home in a brand new 08 Dodge and give you $6,000 cash. And that's been Cal on the air.

So stick around for that. Monday, we are going to see the folks on the show are going to see Cloverfield.
So excited. Cloverfield. Now, do we know yet, like, what it is? The buzz is Godzilla. That's what there was this internet buzz that it was Godzilla. And then I read something about some giant bunny. Like, is that crazy? I read it and I'm like, okay. You're right. He must be making a joke. What if it's a giant bunny? I'll just laugh. I'll walk out. Well. Cloverfield, for those of you that don't know, Cloverfield is this new movie by J.J. Abrams, the guy that brought you Lost. And so we're looking forward to it. The previews are crazy, man. The previews look really good. And so my fear is that it looks really awesome and then it turns out to be really stupid. Independence Day, ID4, looked like it was going to be great. To me, it was the stupidest movie I'd ever seen up to that point in my life. Oh, great. Oh, so stupid. I like almost everything J.J. Abrams does, though, so that's my kind of hope. Have you gone into a movie where you were so excited about it, like you thought it was going to be great, you couldn't wait for it to come out, and then you go see it, and you go, oh, what a turd. Oh.
Absolutely. That's happened to me a few times. Give me some. Well, the biggest one was Phantom Menace. Yeah. Star Wars, the prequels. I was freaking out. I think I went to a midnight showing. It was the biggest moment of my life. Star Wars coming back. Did you think it was bad immediately or were you trying to talk yourself into it? As soon as Jar Jar Binks hit the screen and the kid that played Anakin, Jake Lloyd, was acting, I was like, this isn't really happening, is it? No. I can't. No. And after, you know, I saw it like four or five times. And, you know, I talked myself into parts that I liked. Yeah. But overall, I mean, the movie's terrible. Yeah. And the other one, the big one, was King Kong. Really? I didn't like King Kong at all. You didn't? No. Oh, man. How come? And I loved, you know, Peter Jackson, one of my heroes. First movie after Lord of the Rings. King Kong, I was all psyched for it, and I just thought it was terrible, boring. You don't even see King Kong until an hour into the movie. That was my issue. My issue with King Kong was, oh, man, he could have cut 45 minutes out of that movie. Get to the island. Yeah, get there. Like, all the Naomi Watts dancing. All right. You know, it was like, bleh. A lot of unnecessary stuff. Jack Black wasn't buying that. 570-1053. What movie where, like, you couldn't wait for it to come out, and then when you saw it,
Maybe it wasn't a turd, but you were disappointed. It didn't live up to what you wanted it to be. I'll tell you a movie for me that was like that initially was Casino, but then it grew on me over the years. The reason is because I was expecting Goodfellas. I was so in love with Goodfellas that when I heard that there was a new movie from Scorsese and it was going to be about guys in the mob, I was like, oh, cool, Goodfellas 2. And then when I saw it, the only problem with it was it wasn't Goodfellas. But it was fantastic. It just took me a while to get to it being fantastic. It took a few. Now, when I think about Casino, I think, oh, it's incredible. It's a 10. But at the time, first seeing it. I was like, eh, boring. Oh, wow. Yeah, because it wasn't Goodfellas. Goodfellas was, you know, it was an explosion of second. Yeah. Sean, you got any of those that kind of disappointed you? Well, I had the same experience with Phantom Menace, and I went to a midnight showing. And at that time, I think that, you know, we were doing mornings, right? Phantom Menace, we were in Dallas. Oh, okay.
So I had to come in the next day for something. So I stayed up, you know, and I stayed up all 24 hours. And, oh, man, I was so disappointed by that. But the other one was, do you remember that movie The Hulk? Oh, yeah. I agree with you 100%, Sean. Really looking forward to it. And, man, did it miss the mark. Awful. I remember thinking that The Phantom Menace, to me, it looked like a cartoon. If you're right. Yeah. I mean, Lucas, instead of relying on great characters and a great story like he did with the first ones, decided, you know what? Look at all these great computer things I can make. Yeah. You know, oh, I can make entire characters out of, you know, graphics. It's garbage. P1 Tough is on the line. And Tough, I'll tell you, before you even say it, I couldn't agree with you more. Go ahead. X-Men 3. Horrible. Easy acting. Everything. It was not Bryan Singer. Bryan Singer did the first two movies, and that third one was some, I don't know who it was. Some other person. Brett Ratner. Brett Ratner. Yeah. I'm not too much of an X-Men fan, but from watching one and two, I was just so pumped up for number three, and then when it came out, I was like, oh, God. Yeah, it was cheeseball. It was like real cheesy lines, and it looked cool. I'm the juggernaut. Beep, beep. Oh, dude. That's, you know.
I think he made it a lot for the comic book geeks because those are the lines from the comic books. Juggernaut says that. There was a couple other things that people complained about that I liked because I read the comics. The thing that I loved about those first two X-Men is that I... I wasn't a fan, you know me, I didn't read comic books, but I still liked it. I thought they were really cool, and I thought they were like, as stupid and crazy an idea, it was realistic to me. I don't know how they made that realistic to me, but I believed, in fact, I still believe that Magneto can actually, he's out there somewhere. I thought it was a documentary, so it could be out there somewhere. You don't know. Let's see, P1 Heather, are you there? I am. I got a good one. Which one? Planet of the Apes. Oh, yeah. Big Mark Wahlberg fan. Love the original movie, Charlton Heston. Yeah. Planet of the Apes was a turd. It was. You're right. It really was. Oh, I loved that movie. You did? The one with Wahlberg? Yeah, I never saw the original, but yeah. You know what problem? That's one of Sean's favorites. But you know what problem I had with it? The biggest deal that I had with it is I don't like when movies look like a movie set. Like a sound... Excuse me.
A sound stage. I don't like when I'm watching a movie and it looks like I'm looking at a multi-million dollar sound stage. I hate it. Oh, this one you guys will freak out. In fact, I know I'm the only person in the world that thinks this. I am the only person that I've ever I have never talked to another human being that agrees with me on this movie and not liking it. In fact, I hated it. I don't even own it. Aliens hated Aliens. No, I liked Aliens. And the reason that I hated it was because it was a Cameron. What's his name? James Cameron. Not Kirk Cameron. Kirk Cameron did not direct on him. Are you sure? Are you sure? He was originally slated to direct. Google it. Yes. No, James Cameron.
He did those goofball lines. I didn't like it either, man. You didn't like it, Johnny? No, dude. I didn't like those cheesy Hollywood lines. Game over. I hated that. And there was a scene where they were running outside in the rain on whatever the planet was. And to me, it looked like a soundstage. Whereas the movie Alien, holy Toledo, I think they filmed that on Mars. The first Alien was great. Or Alien 3 is another great one. P1 Chris. Mikey, I was going to say I Am Legend. I know you guys are going to flip out now, but I Am Legend. Oh, dude. What? I hate you. You didn't like I Am Legend? No, I'm just saying. No, no, no, no, no, no. Mike, Mike. I liked it, but the thing was, I read the book, and it doesn't compare to the book at all. It's hard when you read a book. It's hard when you read a book. Nothing ever lives up to a book except The Shining, which was better than the book. Yeah, I agree with that. Go ahead. Hey, I gotta go. Sky's a beating. Thank you. I agree, and we'll see ya. You're a beating. You're the one who doesn't like I Am Legend. But he was right about that. Un-American. The beating part. This one's gonna upset you guys. This next one's gonna upset you guys. P1 Josh. Yeah, man. What movie disappointed you?
The Departed. Whoa. How dare you? Are you hearing this, Rob? Rob, did you hear that? Rob, you put this call through? This is the worst kind of person right now. I don't disagree with him. You're using up our oxygen. Now tell me, bro, why did you not like The Departed? Well, like in a lot of other gangster movies, you're like... There's always a character that stays mysterious, like you don't know who it is, but in The Departed, you know who everybody is, so it makes it like, what do I have left to watch? I already know that, man, game is a bad guy, and then Leo's a good guy, so what's the point? Right. Well, there was... But in the movie, they don't know. Right? See how it plays out. There was... Oh, you're a jerk. There was one character in The Departed that I did not like. Oh. Didn't like the character. Thought it was stupid and cartoonish. I know who. Well, now, if you know who I'm going to say, maybe there's something to what I'm saying. Yeah, I don't disagree. Sky? I have no idea. Do you know who I'm going to say? Rob, I couldn't tell you. Those characters were so realistic. It's a complete mystery to me. I know the guy. Rob will say to me, Mike, you just don't know people from Boston, dude.
Right. If I were to guess, I would guess Mark Wahlberg. You are correct, guys. Don't you dare. It's true. It was a little over the top. Mark Wahlberg was playing himself in that movie. Oh, wow. Wow. P1 Lulu, or Lula, I'm sorry. Lula, are you there? I'm here. What were you disappointed in? I was disappointed with Matrix 2 and 3. Oh, yes. Yeah. 100%. Matrix 1, you know, Keanu, he's like dumbfounded that he's a savior. And then in 2 and 3, you're just kind of, he still plays that same surfer. But what about that incredible, like, highway chase in the second one? That was cool. What about that horrible, like, tribal dancing scene that went on for 30 minutes? Oh, yeah, the rave. Yeah, it was horrible. Thank you. Really bad. Thank you for the call. Oh, P1 Dale's got a great one, and I agree with this one. 150 billion percent. P1 Dale, what is it? A Terminator 3. Awful. Terrible. Schwarzenegger was 150 years old. It was a chick bad guy Terminator. You remember, right, Eddie? The one where he fires the big gigantic gun at the cemetery or whatever.
Dude, that was awesome. Oh! I loved that one. Wow. Wow. All right, we're still trying to get Eric Weddle because he was going into a meeting and we're hoping that we can get him when he comes out. Still have a lot more to tell you. By the way, coming up next, what celebrity is being released from jail early? Also, this is much bigger. How about this? What? Someone new may be performing at the Super Bowl. Oh, really? I honestly think that the reason that this person may be performing at the Super Bowl is to be so that they can exploit them. And it's because the person is a complete train wreck. And they want to exploit them for our enjoyment. Is it a guy? Is it a girl? I'll tell you next. Was he?

And Skye wanted to have it removed, you know. Well, because it's been sitting here, and if we put it out in the kitchen, then the other staff in the building will eat it. If we leave it here, it'll sit here for two more hours, and then I'll go in the garbage. Really? You don't think we can put that out two weeks from now, and people will still eat it in this building? They'll get sick at night. I don't care, but they'll still get eaten. It's not going to get wasted. And I would like our guest, what the food is brought for, to have an opportunity to eat more if they want. Just relax. That's right. Well, our guests are fine. They're well taken care of. Why are you speaking for them? Why are you speaking for them? Because I'm not. You are. No, I'm not. You're saying that they're going to want to eat more later. He's a guest advocate. I said I'm giving them an opportunity to. Well, I'm anti-guest. Yeah, we know. I think that's been clear from the get-go. Eddie's on the pro guest ticket. Well, cool. Good for him. You're a bad person. Maybe you should eat all those. It was. And I'll apologize. The person that was released from jail early was. Michelle Rodriguez. Oh, I didn't even know she was in prison. Yeah, America's Sweatheart. Oh, gross. Yeah, she went in over the holidays to try and, you know, to keep the buzz low. I'm America's Sweetheart. But she was actually sentenced to 180 days. Oh, wow. Yeah, for violating probation. And she got out in how many? Well, she served 10%. So what is that, 18 days? Oh, my.
10% of her sentence is due to severe overcrowding. I don't think most of us can do that. I don't think most of us are allowed to do 10 days and get out. Well, that's what they say. That this is standard for the women's jail in Los Angeles. And that all women, because of overcrowding, are just doing 10% of her sentences. Man, would I love to find that out if that's true. If that's a true stat. I would love to find out if that's really true. Because we know some women that have gone through that LA system pretty quick. So guess who might be performing at the Super Bowl? Ew. This is crazy. No. It's crazy. Paula Abdul. What? She performs still? Paula Abdul. Oh, is it on Fox? Yes, it is. Oh. It's garbage. Oh, that is awesome. Skye, are they taking advantage of a poor person that doesn't know any better? Yeah. I mean, I don't know because since it is Fox, you wouldn't think they'd want to make her look like a total train wreck. Yeah, but they do. They do make her look like a total train wreck. Every week. It's called American Idol. Yeah, they let her on the show. I mean, you've got to think that they don't mind. I really thought you were going to say Amy Winehouse. You know, somebody like that. Which, you know, makes sense because she's talented. You know, it's unfortunate she's got a...
drug problem but you know i'd still like to see amy whitehouse perform but paula abdul yeah what is this 94 well tv guide says that talks are underway for her to perform at the super bowl but she's currently rehearsing for a video 94 i i thought she was popular like in the 80s man well late 80s early 90s she's currently rehearsing for a video for her duet with randy jackson Oh, wow. Yeah. Does he sing? I guess. It's for the first single from his upcoming season. I wonder if she'll be really, really nervous before taking the stage in the Super Bowl and take something to take the edge off. Calm down a little. Something to calm down. Holy cow. Something to relax a little bit. Is it possible that she'd be the first person in Super Bowl history to fall asleep while performing? Should happen. You never know. It's crazy. Even though Tom Cruise's ex-wife is pregnant, they say she's working out really hard. Some people are concerned how hard she's working out.
Yeah, because, you know, when you're pregnant, you can still work out, but you're not really supposed to get your heart rate far above, you know, the normal range because they put stress on the pregnancy. And especially with Nicole Kidman, because she's 40 years old. We know in the past she's had miscarriages, trouble conceiving. But they say, no, she has her yoga instructor come to her house every single day. And then five days a week, on top of that, she goes to the gym for hour long spin classes. Wow. And so they're saying that's too much. Oh, yeah. I have a yogurt instructor comes over and tells me how to eat. It works out pretty good. It really is good. I love it. Sounds great. Yeah, my yogurt instructor. Is it Yoplait? Yoplait? Yeah, mostly Yoplait. But, you know, we work up to Dannon. Eventually you get to Dannon. Are you a fruit at the bottom type of guy or like mix? I'm real fruity. That's true. That is a fact. So you like the mix? Yeah, exactly. The Mikey Show now presents two singers battling it out in a contest we call Stand By For Creativity Winner Plug All. That's cool. Seems like it's been a long time since we've done that. I love it. Yeah, it definitely has. So I'm kind of excited to do this. If you've never heard Winner Plugs All, what we do is we take a couple of local San Diego musicians,
We bring them into the studio, we let them perform, and then you will judge. The listener. You do it by text messaging. It's just like American Idol does. They do some tech stuff. And we'll do tech stuff. So, now we got two people today. It's a couple of guys. We have Jeremy Espino, who's going to be going first. Espino. And then after Jeremy Espino, we're going to talk to Darren Razor. Razor. Oh, I like that. But it's spelled R-A-S-E-R, so I guess that's Razor. Is that Razor? But it still sounds cool, right? Yeah, it's way cool. First guy up, Jeremy Espino. And he's coming into the studio right now. And the idea of Winter Plugs All is it is acoustic guitar. You can only play acoustically. Now, you can have somebody play with you. Like you could have your guitar player in your band play acoustic and you sing. You can do it however you want. Most of the time, people come in and play guitar themselves and sing. Which is kind of impressive to me. I can barely walk and chew gum at the same time. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, it's not easy. But the guy's going to do it himself. All right, so we have Jeremy Espino in here. Am I pronouncing your last name correctly, Jeremy? You are. And Jeremy, tell me a little bit about yourself. Okay.
Well, I'm 28 years old. I'm married. I have a kid and one on the way. How old is the kid? He's two years old. And you got one on the way? Yes. What's your two-year-old up to? What kind of new stuff is he doing? He's gotten an attitude just like crazy. Terrible twos? Yes, absolutely. We're going through the terrible 16-month right now. I hate that. Just wait. Yeah, I've heard. So, Jeremy, how long have you been doing music? I've been doing music. Pretty much my whole life, but seriously writing music for about 15 years. When you write, what kind of stuff do you usually write about? Well, I do music for a church, so a lot of the stuff I write is for church music, stuff that we use in services. Can you actually use it in the service? Yeah. That's cool. That's cool. And then I have a whole bunch of other stuff. It's mainly a lot of stuff that I write about my wife is always talking to me about. that I write really gloomy and melancholy songs. I just like looking at people's lives and seeing their brokenness and how they come out of that. And it inspires me. I just love seeing that kind of stuff. Just seeing hope birthed in someone is cool. That's cool, man. Awesome. You know, my wife loves sad music. Now you're saying that, does your music sound sad but has an inspirational message?
What? I hope so. Is that the deal? Yeah, sometimes it can sound sad. Sometimes it's just kind of moody music. It's not necessarily sad, but whatever. Did I tell you guys I finally had to stop listening to that CD that Zeth gave me? It's the greatest music, but I had to stop listening. You know what I'm talking about, Zeth? Well, you're on the wrong mic. Anyway, I'll talk to you about it in a second. All right, so Jeremy Espino is about to perform. And what is the name of the song you're going to perform, Jeremy? The song is called Satisfy Me. All right. Now, what I want you to do is explain to us what the song is about. Okay. It's called Satisfy Me? Yes. And what is it about? It's about going through this walk of life. Like, I came to a point when I wrote this song where I knew that I needed to keep pressing on. Just been going through just a hard time emotionally, just in myself, just dealing with issues in my own life. Right. I need you to come a little closer to that microphone or move the microphone a little closer to you. There you go. Go ahead. And so, you know, I just sat down and just started writing about just getting fed up with not pressing on, but just wanting to just keep the first lyrics to the song are...
Just one more step, just one more mile. I've got to follow on through the night just talking about just reaching that end goal, you know, climbing the mountain. For me, it was personally about seeing my God, just meeting with Him and just seeing Him do something in my life that I hadn't seen up to that point. And so it's just coming to a place where I'm satisfied with where I'm at in my walk and where I'm at with my life and just finding that in Him. That's cool, dude. That's cool. All right, well, let's hear it. The song is called Satisfy Me. Thank you. Very, very good. That was Jeremy, and it's Jeremy Espino. And basically, here's the idea. What we do is we have two people go up against each other. One guy sings, another person sings, and then you vote. Whoever wins, plug. That's why it's called winner plug all. So very, very good job, dude. We appreciate it, Jeremy. Zeth is going to take you out, and we're going to bring in Darren. Darren is his competition. And at the end of it, I'm going to give you what you need to text in order to vote. The texting is cool. Being able to vote by the text is cool. And we usually get a lot of P1s that are involved in it. And so it's cool because we don't have any say in it. It's all up to you. The P1s will text and it's completely up to you. You can vote for whoever you want. Darren is coming in next. He is 26 years old and says here that he is.
He's originally from Kansas City. Of all the different places, I've been to a lot of different places in the United States. I've never been to that state. I've never been to Missouri. I've never been to Kansas. And he is originally from Kansas City. I'm not in Kansas anymore. That's right. Hey, Darren. Hey. Welcome to the studio. Thank you very much. Now, how long were you in Kansas City? I was there until I was about 18 and I came out to school here in San Diego. 1999. How long have you been playing guitar? I've been playing guitar since I was in the seventh grade, so I don't know, it's like 15 years or something, I think. Was it easy for you to pick up, or did it take a long time for you to kind of get it down? Well, I started playing trumpet in the third grade, so I had some experience with music. So when I started learning the guitar, I already had that foundation of basic music knowledge. And actually, it came pretty quickly. I think that's one reason why I stuck with the guitar is because I picked it up pretty well and really enjoyed it. Did you guys know that I played the trumpet? No. Have I ever said that on the radio? No. Never heard of it. What? When? Yeah, I played the trumpet. You did? Dude. I'm trying to think of how old I was. It didn't last long. For how long? Yeah. It didn't last long.
Because, you know, the first time it got hard, I said, I don't want to do this anymore. My mom was like, who are you? And so, you know, nothing ever happened. I ended up quitting. I heard you were in a mariachi band. Yes, that is true. I was in a mariachi band. I had you in a mariachi band. Mariachi. Well, I call it mariachi. Oh, I like that one. Darren, what song are you going to sing? That's called A Love Quite Like Yours. A Love Quite Like Yours. Yeah. And tell me about it. What is it about? It's a love song, but it's about sort of how real love isn't exactly what culture tells us it is. Like, people say it's about a lot of, I don't know, the kind of things that you see on television shows isn't really the reality of, like, you know, love that you feel every day for somebody. I need you to come closer to the microphone. Or either pull up closer or pull the microphone to you. I'll pull the microphone. There you go. There you go. Okay. And so, okay, cool. Who inspired you? Who are the artists that you like and kind of inspired you? Well, I really love singer-songwriters. Some of the greatest, in my opinion, are Paul Simon, James Taylor, and there's a songwriter from Indigo Girls named Emily Saliers that I really enjoy as well. I don't know any Indigo Girls, but I like Paul Simon and I like James Taylor. Is your music at all similar? Yeah, it is. It is. Oh, yeah. Nice. Let's take a listen. This is Darren, and he's singing A Love Quite Like Yours. Where's
That's good. Rob is going to be asking you some questions about his wedding coming up probably here pretty soon. I'm sure. All right, here's the way this works, okay? The first guy that you heard was Darren. The guy that you just heard was Jeremy. Now, if you want to vote... for the... No, wait a minute. Did I get that backwards? Yeah. I got it backwards. I got it backwards. The first guy that you heard was Jeremy. The guy that you just heard right now was Darren. Okay. First guy sang Satisfy Me was the name of the song. And if you want to vote for the first guy, all you need to do is text the letter A to 35253. 35253. 35253. 35253. Okay.
If you were a fan of Darren and you like Darren's song, he sang a love quite like yours. And if you want to vote for Darren, all you need to do is text the letter B to 35253. 35253. 35253. It's that easy. We keep it simple. A and B. A's the first guy. B's the second guy. 35253. Text it to us now. We're going to take a break. When we come back, we'll have the winner of Winter Plugs All, and somebody will get to plug anything they want. We're hoping he'll slip into something more comfortable, like a coma. It's Mikey. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Holy cow, our P1s are amazing. We're going to be getting to the results of Winter Plug All here in just a second. Some P1 made a custom bottle of Boston Rob syrup. Because Boston Rob has a new song out called Aunt Jemima. You know, Rob is the Mikey Show's very own lyrical gangsta. Guy does parody songs and he did a song about Aunt Jemima's syrup because he now found that he was able to afford syrup for the first time over this last holiday. And he loves syrup. Oh, it's so good. You can put it on anything. I mean that. Try it. You ever have a syrup burrito? No.
We just took a picture of this bottle. It is one of the most hysterical things I've ever seen. The results are... Nervous. Wow. And I'm going to tell you right now, it wasn't even close. Really? Wasn't even close. In the scientific world, they call it a blowout. Oh. One person got 30.1% of the vote. Someone else got 69.9% of the vote. 69.9% of the vote went to our winner. P1 Darren. Darren was the second guy that performed. He's a guy that had the influence of Paul Simon. He said that he was also a big fan of James Taylor.
And you could hear it in the music. It was really good. The song that he sang was called A Love Quite Like Yours. And very, very good job, dude. Congratulations. It was a slaughter, man. Congratulations. Thank you. Now, are you presently in a band that you would like to plug? Or are you going to do any shows? Do you do any of that? Yeah, I sing as myself, Darren Racer, and sometimes I do a solo thing, and sometimes I play with a full band. I actually just had a show on Wednesday night. But I have another upcoming show in town. Should I talk about it now? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Go for it. Yeah, it's at Lestat, which is sort of a coffeehouse venue. Isn't that a vampire from an Anne Rice novel? It is. I believe it is. But the club, the venue isn't quite so dark. That's good. Where is it? It's over in North Park off of Adams Avenue. Okay. And I'll be there on February 7th. Okay. Around 9 o'clock. There you go. Do you have one of them MySpace pages things? I do. You want to promote? Give it out. I would. I would love to. My MySpace page is myspace.com forward slash DarrenRacer, which is spelled D-E-R-R-E-N-R-A-S-E-R. And I also have a website. It's DarrenRacer, spelled the same way, .com. Nice. Very, very good, dude. Well, congratulations, man. And people can go check out his MySpace.
And also see him perform on February 7th. And we appreciate it, dude. Thank you very much for coming in. Now, if you were listening this morning and you like the idea, you play music, you can do this too, you know. All you have to do is go to MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. Go to MikeyShow.com and look for Winner Plugs All. And you can get yourself in here and be performing. And if you win, you can promote anything you want. If you've got an appearance coming up, if your band is going to be somewhere pretty soon, you can do that. So just go to MikeyShow.com to check that out. And we're working on getting the picture of Boston Rob's syrup up on the website. I don't know what P1 did it. Did they tell you the name of the P1? Uncle Stovetop. Uncle Stovetop. P1 Uncle Stovetop made the most amazing custom-made bottle of syrup. Why? Because of B-Rob's new song. It's so gorgeous. It really is beautiful. It warms my heart and my pancakes. That's right. Me and Jemima, you go so great on my pancakes. And I really like how you taste. And the lady from the Land O'Lakes likes you too. It's a party on my plate for you.
Your headband, too. Hey, Aunt Jemima. On my flapjacks, you do drizzle that. Copper-colored goodness. Oh, boy, shizzle. You're my nizzle. Yes, you are. You make great body shots at the bar. Is that bizarre? Oh, I wish you were for free. You're from Tennessee. Overseas. On marquee. Hey, Aunt Jemima. I'm a nectar from the maple gods. Wicked delicious. And I just can't believe that you come from logs. Wicked bizarre. You said that already. Your savory serum can heal scars. Wicked bizarre. Put you in my teeth. You're all sticky because you're on my feet. Why are they on your... Do you really want to know? I don't want to know. That's just weird. Good vitamins. Good for the skin, man.
Hey, man. Look into it. Well, there it is, ladies and gentlemen. It's Boston Rob's new song, Hey, Aunt Jemima. It's really good. I hope everybody enjoyed that. It's really creative. Any questions for you? Oh, really? I would like you to break down this weekend's playoff picture. First of all, I don't know when. Is everything going down Sunday or is there anything tomorrow? There are two games tomorrow. Okay. And are we ever going to mention how I destroyed the Charger girls, by the way? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We never mentioned it. We went on the break and then it kind of got dropped. I was thinking about that the other day.
It was never really said, rubbed in, or anything, and it should be. It really should. I mean, I destroyed them. He dominated them. Yeah. All year long. Not all year long. I never trailed once. Yeah, but you were neck and neck for a while. I never trailed once. But you were neck and neck. We've got to get Chantel in here so you can, you know, let her know what's up. Okay. Saturday's games. The first game, 1 o'clock. You've got Seattle taking on. The gorgeous Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. So tomorrow morning at 10 is... No, no, no. 1 o'clock. 1 o'clock. Yeah. These are all our time. Okay. Got it. So Seattle and Green Bay. Interesting matchup. Love the fact you got Mike Holmgren going back to Green Bay. Matt Hasselbeck returning to Green Bay. Right. But how can you beat the beautiful Brett Favre? He's handsome, right? He's very handsome. I mean, he's got the looks. He's got the... Does the looks matter? Do the looks matter in playoffs? I think they'll be mesmerized, Seattle's defense, with his rugged good looks. Sky, I don't know if you've ever seen any of these specials that they run on the NFL Network, but it's a well-known fact. Over the years, especially during the Super Bowl, secondary gets very confused because he's so handsome. Well, you're staring at that beard, you know.
It's always just kind of growing in. It looks great. I mean, I know you have a man crush on him. Everybody does. Anyway, you start backpedaling and then you fall in love. Forget it. I think the conditions are going to be a big part in this game. I think Green Bay's ground game is a little bit better on track with Ryan Grant. I think Seattle is going to try and pass the ball. It's going to be difficult for them. I'm going to take Green Bay. I wish it would snow. I wish it would snow and blizzard and do that kind of stuff. It's Green Bay. Yeah, sure. You know, in January. Then what? Then who? Then tomorrow night, 5 o'clock, it is the Jacksonville Jaguars traveling to the home of champions, New England, to take on Sam Brady. Yeah. Yeah, dude. So that's the nightcap. Yeah. Jacksonville, New England. Yeah. Now, Rob. Foxborough. Foxborough. Let's do this. Yeah. Rob, are you nervous? Oh, yeah. I'm a little nervous. Woo! Yeah! Is that my man Gary Hoey? That's your man Gary Hoey. Well, the reason that the game kind of creeps me out is because in the NFL, weird stuff can happen. Especially in the playoffs. Yeah. Very weird things happen in the playoffs. But Rob, do not fret. Your New England Patriots are going to be fine. I think they're going to win handily against Jacksonville. Jacksonville, their kind of Achilles heel is stopping the pass.
What does New England do really, really well, better than any team in NFL history? Sky's shaking her head. I don't know. They pass the ball really, really well. Yeah, 12-81. Pitch and catch with Brady and Moss. All day long. It's going to be a big one. New England wins. Tom, throw it to Moss. I thought the phrase was, do not fret, we got Brett. I thought that was how that went. I thought that was it. That's awesome. No one can stop Randy Moss. Call the pants stop, Randy Moss. Thank you. What is the Pentagon going to do? I don't know. What are they going to do, really? That's what they'll do. Look up the record. Thank you for the call. That was the Pentagon secretary. That was the person answering the phone at the Pentagon. Okay, so Eddie, what's going on? I'm a little worked up now. What's going on? Do push-ups or something. The 10 a.m. game is our very own Chargers and Colts, but I'll hold off on that one. And then at 1.30, it's going to be Dallas.
and the Giants. Is it the Jessica Simpson factor? What's going to happen? I don't know. It's crazy. No, I think Dallas is going to be fine even with or without T.O. at full strength. I have a feeling T.O. isn't going to have a huge game, but he's going to catch a touchdown. What's wrong with him? He's got a sprained ankle. Ouch. Yeah, but he's going to play. He'll be fine. I think Dallas will be fine. I think they'll figure out a way to stop the Giants passing attack, and I think Dallas wins that game. Okay. I want an injury report. Five. News isn't great. He's not practicing. They're holding out hope that he's going to be okay. He said that the toe felt better on Tuesday, but then didn't feel better on Wednesday and Thursday. It's going to be a game-time decision whether or not he plays. Toes are tricky, man. They're terrible. Terrible, because you can't push off. You can't get any kind of speed going or anything. If it's on your hand, if it's your finger or whatever, for whatever reason, it seems like guys are able to sort of cope with that. Sure. Your toe's so tiny, and it causes so much pain. It's like a tooth. Your toe is a lot like a tooth. It hurts like crazy. If you were to ask me right now, I'm going to say he's probably not going to play. Really? Yeah, but I'm holding out hope. Hopefully he's going to be there, dude.
Yes. I want to know. The question has come up. The Oracle has not said. Here it goes. We've been waiting to leave. Well, we've been waiting to see. He wouldn't tell us. He said, I'm not. I'm going to reserve my comments until Friday. He didn't want to say until today. Now, let's remember. I'm an analyst. I'm not here to play favorites. I'm not here. I'm not a homer. Yes. You know, I'm going to tell you guys what I really believe. What? What do you really believe? Here's what I really believe. This is going to take, for the Chargers to win, an almost perfect game. I'm talking about Phillip Rivers not turning the ball over. I'm talking about getting the ground game going. I'm talking about getting in Peyton Manning's face. For some reason, Peyton Manning does not like that 3-4 defense. It confuses him. It makes him get out of his rhythm. And it really jacks up.
the Colts. I mean, you look at the Steelers when they play him, when we play him, that 3-4 defense, it messes with his head for some reason. So you're telling me an interception by Phillip Rivers would be bad? I'm telling you, especially early. If for some reason the Colts get a turnover early by Phillip Rivers, it's over. You might as well turn off the TV. In all honesty, so if he throws it early when you go, something happens. Momentum is going to be all with the Colts and they're going to put us away. But I believe... that the San Diego Chargers are going to figure it out and are going to play a damn near perfect game. They're not going to pick off Peyton Manning six times. Darren Sproles is not going to run a couple touchdowns back. But the much maligned Phillip Rivers is going to have a fantastic game and the best player in the NFL is going to prove why he's the best player in the NFL. LaDainian Tomlinson is going to go off. And they're not going to stop it. They're not going to stop it. The San Diego Chargers win a close one, but they win. You just convinced me. I'm in. That is from the brain. I believe. Oh, well, you're welcome, San Diego. KIOZ, San Diego's Rock. To the Mikey Show, featuring Mikey. I pick my nose a lot. Eddie. I don't spend money on anything. I'm a white girl. What do you want from me? Sean. Blatter me. Boston Rob. I told you, I'm starting to read. I'm trying to be educated. And Ashley. I like to flow. She likes to flow. On Rock 105.3. I don't sense a love with Eddie and Scottie today. No, it's not there. Let me tell you. Let me explain. To explain, okay? There are some days where it's clickin'.
Oh, yeah. Where it's just, it's clearly clicking. And for whatever reason, I think I know. What happened? I don't think that you guys are getting enough off-air time that you get to spend talking. No, we're fine. Good. Well, there's plenty of off-air time with things being thrown at me. That's the next fun thing that's been going on in the office all week. That's real awesome. I know this. I know that sometimes you guys get to speak off air and you get to spend some time together. We have guests in the studio, so you haven't been able to do that as much. It's true. They make things awkward. Yeah, and I've noticed... Well, no, Sky, I wouldn't say that they make things awkward. Stop insulting our guests. What a thing to say. I wouldn't even say that. God. That's not nice. No, I thought we were just saying facts. I wouldn't say that they make things awkward. Gosh. Uncomfortable? Okay. Good. All I know is... Shut up. All I know is...
Well, I'm not trying to say anything negative about our guests. That's for sure. I thought that's where you were going. I was not. That's rude, Mike. I just see that Eddie and Skye are not clicking today. No. But did you see the sign? Eddie and Skye, friends forever. Yeah. I did not write that. I thought you did. No, that's in girl writing. I just saw you write it. You put it right there. No. Oh, weird. She's being very rude to our guests, and I don't like it. The whole thing with the food really upset me from the get-go. Why did it upset you? What did she do with the food? She wanted it out of here. She said, can we get this food out of here? And I'm like, what, is it bothering you? Oh, that was brutal. Right now, P1 Matt Damon goes, hey, can I get a hot dog, guys? And I'm sorry, man. It's all gone. Sky wanted it gone. Matt Damon's an Eddie lover. Just right in the middle, just right out of nowhere, during commercials, during commercials out of nowhere, she goes, hey, Eddie, would it be okay if we took the food out of here? It wasn't that nice. I wish it were. And Eddie said, why? And she goes, well, you know, I just thought it would be nice for everybody here at the station to be able to get some. And Eddie goes,
What about our guests? Yeah, that's who the food's for. They all already ate, and they were done eating. They had a hot dog. It can have other things. After Eddie said what he said, after Eddie goes, well, it's for our guests, Skye then asked them, oh, do you guys want more? Yeah. She didn't even ask them first. Well, no, I had to ask Eddie first. What do you mean ask me first? I don't want to get yelled at. Really? Really? You're going to go there? Yeah. She would get yelled at if she asked the guests if they had... Do you guys want any more food? I'd be like, damn it, Scott! How do you ask the guests if they want food? How do you ask the guests if they want food? It's terrible. See, Mike gets it. Let me ask you guys. Did you enjoy the food today? It was very good. Eddie's going to blow. What you got of it. Well, P1... Pisa's Place is on the line right now. Thank you. It's the best. Hey, guys. How are you guys doing? Good, man. Great food. Thank you very much for supplying the food this morning. No problem. Thanks for letting us bring it to you guys. Now, what we got of it seemed really good.
But I have to be honest with you. Sky had it ushered right out of here before people could get seconds. It was sitting there for like two hours. First of all, that's a lie. Two hours right now. Okay, so it was an hour and 45. It wasn't 10 minutes ago, lady. Oh, come on now. You guys didn't devour it? No, I'm telling you. We were trying to. People were eating it like crazy, and Skye was making us take it out of here, but our guests did love it. You guys loved it, right? Very good. Well, hey, listen. I just got an IM from our traffic guy, and he said the hot dogs were killers. That's great. He enjoyed it. Can I tell you the real reason why she wanted it out of here? Why? Yes, Eddie. As soon as they brought... in those hot dogs. Sky said, ugh!
I could smell the mustard. I did not. Skye hates mustard. Skye does not like mustard. So she wanted it out of here because she could smell mustard. Eddie, I think I know what the Cloverfield monster is. It's Mustardfield. That's what it should have been called. Well, listen, hey, man, we really appreciate it. Tell us again where you guys are located, man. We're located in El Cajon off of Hammershaw in Maine. If you're taking the eight out, you get off on One second, and it's right there. There you go, dude. The number here is 619-440-6922. And to all your guys' P1 listeners, if you guys come in, mention that you guys heard us on the Mikey Show. You guys will all get free combos this weekend. Wait, wait, wait, wait. You're extending that to all P1s? All P1s. You know what you're getting yourself into, buddy? Yeah, dude, do you know what you're getting yourself into? I do, I do. Okay, because you're saying they get a free combo? Free combo, free trip, free drink. Wow. Any sandwich, anything, come on in. To any P1. I think he means you buy the sandwich, you get the chips and drink free. Please. Bring them in, but you know what? To all of our P1s, you don't even have to bring them in. Just come on in, say you guys heard us on the Mikey Show. And they don't, wait, wait, wait. Now, what do they have to pay for?
Just a sandwich. Okay, gotcha. Oh, the sandwich. It's fantastic if you had a TV and a couch. Okay, I misunderstood. What's going on here all day long? Okay, I misunderstood. They get a free upgrade. Yes. That's good, though. You buy a sandwich, and he'll give you chips and a drink for free. Now, that's awesome. That is awesome. And realistic. And realistic. Yes. Totally realistic. Thank you, P1Ps, this place. Let me tell you something. I'd order more chips right now. Because we're going to have a lot of P1s going in there saying they're P1s. I just want to let you know. Cool. I'll take it. All right, bro. Thank you, man. I appreciate it. Thank you, guys. You guys have a good day. P1 P's this place. Can I just get the chips and drink? Hold the sandwich. I want to remind people that our Best of CD is only going to be on sale for one more week. It's going off sale a week from today. Wow. So if you want it, you got to get in on it now. Don't wait. This thing could be sold out by next Wednesday. Goes off sale on Friday, so if you want it, you better get it now. Fergie compared herself to Princess Diana. Oh, that gremlin. What did she say? Before or after. What do you mean? Getting wet? Yeah. Are we talking about street scene again? No, no. I don't really know. He was making a Sean comment. Hey!
What does that mean? It was over the top, inappropriate, a bit morbid, offensive, all of those things. What about it specifically? I don't know what they're talking about. I missed the last 30 seconds of the show. You missed all of that? Honestly, I don't know what happened the last 60 seconds of the show. I wouldn't worry about it. So Fergie was doing an interview, and she said that, quote, people put celebrities on a pedestal and act like they're perfect, but I'm more like the people's artist, the same way Diana was the people's princess. I'm a little more human than other artists. I'm not afraid to show my flaws and have a laugh about it. That guy upsets me so much. Wow. Rob really hates Fergie. Did anybody see her on that New Year's Rockin' Eve thing? I did not. She was a dude. Really? That is so mean. Did you see it? Yeah, I did see it. It was disgusting. She's all yo-yo and trying to be like... Really? Yo-yo. Yeah, she went yo-yo, huh? Yeah, the nerve of her. She was like very...
tomboyish but trying to look hot it wasn't working out and like too much makeup and you can tell she's had something done and very gremlin-esque there you go rob hates her jeez uh pam anderson is denying that she is pregnant she says i'm not pregnant you're telling me a big fat lie she says stop saying it i'm not pregnant yeah are you on birth control or are you sticking with condoms Her soon-to-be ex-husband Rick Solomon is telling people the reason she filed for divorce is because her hormones are all out of control because she's pregnant with his baby. So Pam Anderson blogs a lot and responds to gossip and stuff on her blog. So she goes on her blog and blogs, no, no, thank God, no. So she didn't say I'm not pregnant? No, but... To her defense, that's the only stuff she could spell. Oh, yeah. So... That's a deal. She says she's not pregnant. Oh, by the way, I thought this was kind of gnarly. So, remember how we said that Brittany, they found out that Brittany went to Mexico the other day? She told people she was going to New York and got in this private jet and told the paparazzi as she was leaving that she was going to New York. Well, she wasn't. She was going to Mexico. Do you know where she went? Where? Rosarito. Come on. Dude. Really?
Yeah, like of all the places to go, like when Sky said, yeah, Britney's, before the show started, she goes, Britney's Mexico things in the news. I go, where'd she go? Cabo? She goes, no, Rosarito. And I laughed. And I go, where did she go? Sky goes, she did. She went to Rosarito. Rosarito. Of all of the places to go, that's like the most seedy hotel kind of junkie. Great lobster. Yeah. She might as well have gone to Puerto Nuevo. Yeah. That was just, I couldn't believe that that's where they went. That doesn't surprise me at all. It kind of, I guess it doesn't really surprise me either, now that I think about it. Yeah, so her and her paparazzi boyfriend took off in the private jet on Wednesday, got to Rosarito about three o'clock on Wednesday, checked into a $230 a night junior suite at a hotel there. Which for her is, I mean, it's, oh yeah, for her. Yeah, so then she put on her pink wig that we've seen her wear. Well, yeah, because, you know, pink is a natural hair color and nobody will notice you. She's not well right now. She wants to blend in. Right. It's her disguise. Yeah. Well, most Mexicans have pink hair. So they walked around, did some shopping. She bought a $60 Gucci knockoff purse. I was about to say, is she nuts?
Am I nuts? Yeah, break. So they were in Rosarito for less than 24 hours before returning home. And then it's going to be a big day for Britney on Monday because that's the next court hearing for her and K-Fed. It's Britney, bitch. Did she show up? Well, if she shows up, it'll be a big day. She's so weird. Leave Britney Spears alone right now. Don't you think we should just do that? Leave Britney Spears alone right now. Enough. We should. Everybody is aware of the very famous Muppet Gene Shallot from NBC's Today Show. He's a marionette. I remember him from Dark Crystal. That's right. Best marionette ever made. That's right. He's got the little bow tie and the whole deal. He's reviewing There Will Be Blood, directed by my favorite movie director, Paul Thomas Anderson, which, by the way, I haven't heard one bad thing about this movie yet. When does it come out? We've been kind of, I think there's been a little bit of... Well, it was released in December so that it could be eligible for the Academy Awards, and then it's going to go like a wide release at some point. I think it's next Friday.
Will Be Blood is a picture of prodigious force. What? Why are you kidding me with that? I need a new voice guy. Powered by Daniel Day-Lewis. Ladies and gentlemen. He is Daniel Plainview. A cunning, malignant misandrinist lusting for oil in California a hundred years ago. Nothing will stop him. Certainly not honesty. I'm a family man. I run a family business. His speech is precise, unadorned, almost mesmerizing in its pitch. No matter what the others promise to do, when it comes to the showdown, they won't be there. But under its sham sincerity, there smolders his hatred of everyone. What? It cannot be serious. What does that mean? Why was he drinking before? Yeah, I mean, that's not fair to the viewers at home. He's got a stroke on the air. I mean, that's not... The coach shouldn't do that. Not funny. Taking advantage. I look at people and I see nothing worth liking.
Take the marbles out of your mouth. That's just mean. Let's drop some contracts. Let's give it a try. Drilling those barren acres into a barony makes him an oil baron of immense wealth. He's a slippery oligarch. Okay. It's an aardvark. Yeah, it's a slippery aardvark. Wow. By the way, I'll have another slippery aardvark. Make it a double. Are you endless? I don't think so, no. A brother he never knew latches on. Kevin J. O'Connor. We have a sinner with us here who wishes for salvation. A young fiery preacher, Paul Dano, tries to alter him. I am sorry, Lord. I'm sorry, Lord. That's the kid from Little Miss Sunshine. Remember that movie? That's a girl.
Yeah, that's a little girl. That's a little girl with a thick glass. That beauty. Yeah, you know, the one that didn't talk. It was the one that didn't talk for that one. Remember him? He's back. To its demonic climax, no emotion is spared. Say it louder. Intensified by Johnny Greenwood's torrential music. Johnny Greenwood, he's from a band I'd never heard of before. Radioheader. A radio ad. I used to have a radio flyer. That's right. This film is a mighty presence. And that's the critics' corner for this morning. Oh, wow. There it is. Did he like it? Did he not like it? What the hell was that? Well, I give her four hard marks. Oh, my God. Weirdest review of a movie I've ever heard in my life. That's insane. Let's see. He never came into peace.
Yeah, I know. I don't know what he thinks. I never did hear what he thinks. Jimmy Kimmel and Jay Leno went on each other's shows, you know, because the writers are striking. Right. And they went on each other's shows. What I thought was really unusual or what I thought was really strange is, man, those are two different types of shows, right? I mean, Jimmy is pretty edgy. And Jay is a more broad audience. So I'm thinking, well, I know Jimmy's got to have the better lines of the two of them, right? I think he's more naturally funny. Oh, yeah. And he seems more hip and young and the whole thing. Anyway, so this was last night. This is Jimmy Kimmel on The Tonight Show. Cut 13. Well, thanks for being here, because you and I have not spoken in what, would you say, six years? Yeah, probably six years. That's right, that's not normal. Well, we're competitors, you know. We were competitors. Tell people what happened. We didn't talk for a long time, and we were... Nothing really happened. There really was no feud. Yeah, there wasn't a feud, it's just that it's competitive, and then, you know, there are booking, you try to get guests, and then, obviously, no one wants to come on my show, and everyone wants to come on yours. Actually, I saw you one time, I saw you one time, bitching and voting, because ABC had put one of their big stars on
show instead of your show. That's how it works. You get all the Desperate Housewives, I get the plumber's husband from the show. You know, whatever they happen to throw me. But you called and were very nice, and you suggested we should be friends and get together. Yeah, especially with the writer's strike, I felt like we should come together, and I felt like we could solve it, but we really did no good whatsoever. No, no, but I mean, I'm glad that you called me, because I always wanted to do that, and I felt awkward, and I do enjoy your show. I think you're funny. You're right funny. And the same with you, and I will say that there is a certain amount of envy, because, I mean, this is The Tonight Show, and it's a... Big deal. Oh, what next? What? And then what? Yeah. And then? Oh, that's where it stops right there. Well, there was nothing funny there, but it was interesting. I mean, it's interesting to hear a couple of guys that are on competing shows talking to each other like that. You know, Leno has had an issue with just about everybody in Late Night. Yeah. At one time or another, they've hated him or he's hated them.
I'll give you Kimmel's show in just a second when Jay's on his show, because what I'm going to be interested to hear is, do they act different? Yeah. So here's more Jimmy on The Tonight Show. Cut 14. I watch, I see Kevin on the show, and he laughs at a lot of things. The band leaders? If only I could have a Kevin in my life, because my band looks at me like my teenagers look at me when I walk into their bedroom. It's like... But Kevin... Can I help you? He's so into it, and I realized that today was the first time I realized, because I haven't been here and really observed him, that the reason Kevin is so good-humored is he is stoned out of his mind. You have to cover his eyes? You might as well have Snoop Dogg leading the band. That's pretty awesome. That's funny. Last one, cut 15. Now, we're both back without writers. How's it going for you? It is very hard. I miss my writers tremendously. It's terrible. Will you write some jokes for me? Because it seems like you've got plenty. I can't. That's illegal. Oh, that's illegal. It's very confusing, but it's lousy. And it makes booking guests difficult because people don't want to cross a picket line. So now we're, you know, instead of movie stars, you get, you know, the cast of Celebrity Fat Club Five on the show. But there is an advantage.
You don't have to see a lot of stupid movies and pretend they're good. You have to see stupid reality shows and pretend they're good. Tell the two quarries how fantastic they are. You know, beg for a Feldman and or Hayne booking. When we come back, we're going to play Leno on Kimmel's show. See how that went. Coming up next. There we are. Hey, hello. If you're out in East County, you know you've got to watch for some, looks like an accident here, westbound area, right near Dunbar Lane. That should be starting to clear up, though, actually. In the Oceanside area, plywood and travel lanes, northbound 5 at Harbor Drive. Also north 15, right at the 7-8, they're going to be doing some emergency road repair. So watch out for those guys. They may be darting in and out of cars there to try to get those potholes filled. And in National City, getting reports now of an injury accident on surfer streets, Hoover Avenue at west, mile of cars way. I'm John Monty with Traffic on Rock 105.3. Where there's always a vacancy at the Cheaters Hotel. Hello, can I please speak to Scotty? This is Scotty. Hey, Scotty, how are you? My name is Steve, and I'm calling from the Orion Hotel. The reason that we're calling is because somebody entered your name into a drawing that allows you to spend one evening for free in our hotel, courtesy of Orion Promotions. Does it sound like something you might be interested in? Yeah. Okay, all I need to get from you is the name of the guest that you'll be bringing so we can put it on the gift card. Okay. Um, Toreen. Scott, did you just get a real estate agent? The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Guy has breaking news. The North Carolina missing pregnant Marine has just been, well, they just did a press conference and said she is dead. Wow. Good night.
It's pretty crazy, man. Here's what we know. It says, missing pregnant Marine Lance Corporal Maria Latterbach is dead. The suspect in the case is a fellow Marine whom Latterbach had accused of assault. Holy cow. The suspect is not in custody. Latterbach had purchased a bus ticket the day she went missing from Camp Lejeune, but never used it. So anyway, we'll give you an update on it a little later. It's got to get it all together, but it's breaking news right now. That's what they're saying. That's pretty crazy, man. Wow. What is weird is that one of the items that we had in the news today is her mother saying that she's a pathological liar, which I thought was weird. What a strange thing to be saying to the media and to the press and why.
yeah i mean i mean i get it i mean maybe she is the the quote from the mom is that her daughter is um has a history of being a compulsive liar um but i mean your daughter's eight months pregnant and she's been missing for a month i i don't know if that i mean so is that why the mom was saying it because her mom was like hey maybe she's gone somewhere because she's got a history of lying and so maybe she's just gone right right got it got it got it well bad timing that is bad timing Bank of America is buying the company countrywide. Yeah. It's a huge deal, a $4 billion deal. All of it is going to be in stock, but basically Countrywide, who is huge in the mortgage industry, has just been hurting ever since the housing market and people defaulting on loans and everything. So Bank of America, bottom out, $4 billion. That is a ton of dough, man. Yeah, they say the deal is expected to be completed. Everything's signed and official by the second half of this year. Skrill. It's on the...
front page of the union tribune today that the governor is proposing 10 cuts in all spending across the board yeah and it's got some people upset like teachers yeah um let's see some you know teachers the president of uh california teachers association says that there's a good possibility that a hundred thousand teachers could lose their jobs due to these cuts seems like a lot yeah it does I'm just, you know, I'm wondering what the, you know, he wants to, I guess, cut out some of the debt in California. I mean, we're... Yeah, $14.5 billion budget shortfall. Well, we knew that when he went in there. Yeah. When he went in there, he was trying to fix the state because it was all jacked up. You know, we were practically bankrupt when he went in there. And so... Need more slot machines. Yeah. Well... $4 billion more. That's a lot, man. That's a lot of money that he's taken out. In Poland, this guy went to a brothel to see a lady of the night. And his wife was working there. Oh, that's always a bummer. He's like, hey, what are you doing here? Oh, you come here too? Yeah. She's like, oh my goodness, what are you doing here? And he's like, what are you doing here? I didn't know you worked here. Oh my goodness. Yeah, so I guess his wife had been bringing home some extra money, but she told him she was working at a nearby grocery store.
Well, it turns out not the case, so now the guy is divorcing his wife of 14 years. Blank my blank and blank you. I mean, he was going to the brothel, so what's the... Well, yeah, I'm sure it was mutual, you know? She's like, how dare you? How dare you? How dare you, sir? Steven Tyler's selling part of the Aerosmith catalog? Yeah. Why? Well, they say that he sold a stake in the catalog for $50 million. Now, it doesn't cover the older stuff, like Dream On and Sweet Emotion, because those aren't owned by him. But, you know, love in an elevator. Dude looks like a lady. Janie's got a guy. Dude likes ladies, good too. Dude likes a lady. On occasion. And so they're speculating that the reason he's doing it now is because the tax law for selling copyrighted songs changed a while ago. And it used to be a 38% tax on those. And now it's down to a 15% tax. And with the shift in office coming up, you don't know if those laws are going to change. So I think kind of strike while the iron's hot type of deal.
All right, so let's get back to this. The one last clip that we have, this is Jimmy Kimmel asking Jay Leno a question. Only this time, Jay is on the Kimmel Show. Cut 16. Now, I want to ask you about a question that everybody wants to ask. I don't believe you're leaving in 2009. That seems to be the plan. You will leave? Because you're a workaholic. You seem to love what you do. You rarely take a vacation. What are you going to do in 2009? Um... I wonder how this would look on that side. I don't know really. I can't believe you haven't given him much thought. I'm just trying to get through this. You've got Conan hovering like a vulture above you all the time. That's a nightmare. That made him uncomfortable. Definitely. I like that comment. I wonder how this desk would look over there. Um,
Hey, yesterday, do you remember right at the end of the show this guy called in and said Val Kilmer is singing? Oh, yeah. Has some new thing coming out or something? You want to hear it? Sure. So here he is covering Neil Young's song After the Gold Rush, which I'm unfamiliar with. I don't know that song. One of my favorites. I see. Cut 17. Well said. The bass is taken away from the vocals? Yes. Definitely. I think it is. Well, that was really disappointing from Val Kilmer, wasn't it? Oh, yeah. Not really. I thought he was joking. This is another song called Good God, You're Everything. No, don't. We don't need to. Cut 18. Good God, You're Everything. Oh, no. I like it already. Good God, You're Everything. I see. I've had enough of it. Come on, Val. Guys, stop looking at him. You're making it worse, Val. Come on. Val. Oh, my gosh. Electric. That was awesome. Val.
Oh, those lyrics. Those are lyrics. That's a jam. That was really tough to listen to. That was really tough to listen to. That's much better. Do something about your lungs. Oh, yeah. It looks like a rat's nest. Do something about your mullet. Cut the mullet. Cut the mullet. Get the rat's nest off your head. Jerk. Get that crazy-ass mullet off your scarf. Take your ass to the barbershop. Tell the barber that you're sick of looking like an a**. He's going to sing with me, too. Yeah, everybody. Okay. It's great. Get downloads and podcasts.

So how big is the Big Ten Network's basketball schedule? Well, it's almost as big as Tom Izzo climbing a championship ladder. It's Iowa in your grill defense big. Tubby Smith resume big. 140 games, the key conference matchups. We're talking Mackey Arena. I can't hear myself think big. Bigger than the chicken dance in the Kohl Center. Even bigger than being an orange T-shirt salesman in Champaign. Go to BigTenNetwork.com. It's big, my brother. Big. Hey, it's Mikey for Amco. I'm the type of person that likes to know exactly what I'm going to get before I get into it. That's why I always, whenever I'm doing any kind of endorsement, I always check them out before I pass it on to you, the P1s. I'm telling you, you can trust Amco. And don't forget the fact that Amco does transmissions, brakes, oil changes. Now, you may be saying to yourself, why Amco? Why would I go to Amco and not take it to the dealership? Well, first of all, the experience. The experience in the database. They hook up with all these other Amcos with guys that know exactly what problems are going on. And when they experience something that they don't know about, which isn't often, they can go on there and figure it out.
Amco is the only place you want to go. It's Amco. Double A. Beep, beep. M-C-O. Some of the best golfers in the world will be there. We're getting closer to figuring out his method. Yeah. Someday we're going to figure out how he does it. Can you stop that, please? You want to hear Kevin Federline singing on the TV show One Tree Hill? Stop it. Are you really giving us an option? Uh, no. Oh, okay. So, cut 45. Is that for real? Yeah, you should see, like, the whole promo, because it has these hot girls coming and going, oh, this is the latest unsigned talent, and blah, blah, blah. Oh, yeah, we're living in L.A., I know, blah, blah. And then K-Fed's up there jamming, trying to look all rock with his band. And they're talking about how awesome he sounds. He doesn't even play, like, a rap or hip-hop guy. He plays a rock guy? Well, you heard it. It was great. It was?
Kids, don't drink and sing. This is the jam. One Tree Hill, not so much. You don't get it. Yeah, I hated to admit it. I thought that this stupid Popo's out. I thought it actually sounded cool. Yeah. I thought he must not have anything to do with it. Hey, Ashley, give me that music bed that we have by him. You know, we used to have the song Privilege. Do we still have that somewhere in the system? Check it out, Rob. See if we still have that song Privilege. I thought that one was good. It was good. It had a cool sound. Popoza was a little stupid. Now hearing it back, I'm like, yeah, it was kind of stupid. But Privilege, I thought, had a pretty good vibe. Pretty cool little groove. Email says, Eddie, that talk you had this morning in regards to the Chargers was awesome. You gave my girl the goose bumps and you pumped us up as well. Wow.
We feel a lot better about the game tomorrow. Good looking out. I'm going to hold you to it. Okay. So that is P1 Peanut. They are pumped up about the game this weekend. Eddie says he believes with his brain, not his heart, that they're going to win this weekend, that the Chargers are going to do it. Yes. That's it. That's it. That's it. Yeah. Yeah. You know what? This is just the bed. I just put the song up right below it. Oh, man. You got to hear the really good lyrics that go with it. Yeah, right. It's really good. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. To the streets, baby. To the streets. Yeah, let's try it out one more time. What up? All my babies. Fresno. House. Yeah, what's up, Bakersfield? Yeah. Modesto. What up? What's up? Merced in the house. French Camp. What up?
Whoa. The 9139. What up? The what? 91399. Huh? Know that one? If Snoop Dogg had never done this, Kevin Federline would be a star. But unfortunately, Snoop Dogg did it. The nerd. Early 90s. Who's the biggest rap artist in the world right now? 50? Da Brat. A lot. No? Maybe show off. Kanye, it's huge. Is he rap? Are we talking rap? Okay, just rap, not hip-hop. Because isn't Kanye hip-hop? Yes. Are you kidding me? I'm so sorry, Ashley. I'm so sorry. Oh, no. She's so offended at my not knowing of... I don't know. So he doesn't rap in his songs? He does, and I'm dreadfully sorry. I'm really sorry. He does. You're out of your mind. I don't know any of this. And you're offensive.
Wait. I don't think Kanye is considered a rap artist as much as he's considered a hip-hop artist. He wants. Help me out. Go ahead. I'd say 50, the game. So you think 50 is a rap artist and Kanye West is a hip-hop artist? You don't think Kanye West is the same as 50 in terms of rapping? No, I don't. No. What? Are you crazy? No. I agree. How is it... One seems like pop music and the other one seems like, you know. It depends how many times you've been shot. Yes. There's like a shot rule. Yeah. There is a shot rule. I disagree wholeheartedly. Yeah. How come when I type 5-0 into the system, 50 doesn't come up? I would type in F-I-D-D-Y. It's funky like that with numbers. Maybe just type in like Indiclub and then it'll show all his songs. You can find them that way.
Is Eminem not considered top anymore? Just because he hasn't put out an album in a while? If he put an album out right now, it'd be number one. Oh, it would. You're right. You're definitely right. What up? What's the difference, man? I'm wrong. You guys are right. Now, wait a minute. Now, hang on a second. No one's saying that. Now, when I listen... I apologize. When I listen to that, I say... Now, those are cool, like... What do you call it? Beats? Yeah. Like, the beats are cool. But, like, what's so special about his voice? Kanye, I hear, like, legitimate talent. I go, wow. How can you do that? Totally agree. Well, and to me, that's the difference between rap and hip-hop. Hip-hop is really cool beats. It's not so much about, like, singing and being, you know, vocally like Mariah Carey. But hip-hop, you do have to have some real vocal talent. I know. In my opinion. Just my opinion. Not facts. She's getting mad. Okay, wait a second. I don't know anything about rap.
But I got to think that there's got to be one rap artist out there that actually you hear in his voice like talent when he's rapping. With Fiddy, I'm just like, it's just a guy talking. What about Jay-Z? Jay-Z is the man. All right. Put on anything by Jay-Z. Let's see. Good God. The best. Biggie, Tupac. Eminem. Don't you hear talent when you hear Eminem? Absolutely. No doubt about it. Jay-Z. What's a song by him? What's a good one? His newest one is called American Gangsta. Yeah, that's really good. Dirt Off Your Shoulder. What up? 99 Problems. Show Me What You Got. Yeah, Pretty Mama. Big camping. We're so white right now. I'm down. What up? You're down? You are. I can't find it. What? Jay-Z. I can't find it. J-A-Y. J-A-Y dash Z. Oh, it's not just Jay-Z. Yeah, I just was typing in a J and a Z. That's why. What song do you want? I just said...
I just asked him what song... Why are they fighting? I don't know. She's really PO'd right now. You don't have to be a jerk about this. I don't know, but this segment's upsetting her. Yeah, I'm not going to comment on that. Give me a song, Ashley. Give me a song by Jay-Z. I just did. Wait, wait, wait. No, it's okay. Zeth is pointing one out. I already did. What did you say? Zeth, which one? Show me which one. Zeth, you know about this music. That Pretty Mama one. Zeth, show me a good song. Yeah, have Zeth do it. Which one? This one, Zeth? Zeth is down. That one? I put up Show Me What You Got. When I hear this, I go, okay, I hear a guy doing what I don't think a bunch of people can do. When I hear 50, I'm like, oh, what do you hate? When I hear Fitty, I go, well, I bet a bunch of guys can sound just like that. That's why Kanye West is such a better rapper than 50 Cent, because his lyrics are so much better. I heard Kanye's not a rapper. He's a hip-hop artist. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. But we're talking about rap right now, Ash. Hey, guy. T-Pain's really good, too.
What about B-Rod and Taco Shop? Hey, what about Wyclef Jean? I know you know a lot about hip-hop and rap. That was a joke. It was just a joke. It was just a joke. It was just a joke. It was just a joke. It was just a joke. It was just a joke. That's all it was. It was pure destruction. Put it on the board under snap. Ludicrous. Great rapper. You mean Luda? Eddie, you are hip. Hey, we're talking about rap, not hip-hop. That's right. I was saying you're hip. I wish Sisani was here so we could ask somebody that knows about hip-hop or rap or something. You know what I'm saying? Someone knowledgeable about that. Wow.
What about the Ying Ying twins? And the taco shop. T.I.? Matt Damon, you're never allowed in here again after saying what you just said, man. That was just like, give me a break, bro. Very insulting. Give me a break with that stuff. Matt Damon. Oh, man, play some Biggie Smalls. Oh, yeah. What about Rob Bass? Oh, dude, that's great hip-hop. Houdini, bro. Yo, you got some Big Daddy Kane? Criss Cross. Criss Cross that out. Yeah, Criss Cross that out, will you? Tupac Shakur. You know, Tupac. Oh, Shakur. Is this rap or what is this? This is stupid. I like it. Well, I, you know, respectfully, I disagree. I think that Kanye is more hip-hop stuff than it is rap, but... You're right. Listen, she thinks differently. What do you think, Sky? Nope. Sky...
Sky, you know a little bit about that kind of stuff. Well, she dances to it. I'm too old to have an opinion on it. Oh, wow. P1 Pac-Man's on the line. Hey, you don't love me, Pac-Man. What's up, Pac-Man? What's going on? What's up? Hey, yeah, when Ashley was saying that you can kind of compare Kanye to 50, Kanye's not really rap, and that's by his own admission. He said when 50 was saying he was going to retire if Kanye outsold him. Kanye said that 50 wasn't even his competition that Justin Timberlake was. That's right. I forgot about that. That's the truth. That is the truth. That is the truth. Ashley, Ashley. Ashley's wrong yet again. Whoa. Come on. You didn't need to say that. No, you did not. You didn't need to say that. That's not nice. No, you did not. It's not very nice, sir. That was not very nice. I'm nervous, guys. I'm getting nervous. Should we put that on the board, though? I'm not going to put that on the board. I would want for somebody to put it on the board, but I'm going to watch and see if anybody puts it there. And if they do, I'll secretly like it. It's on the board, but I would never suggest on my own that it be put on the board. It's real dangerous, guys. Very, very dangerous. Ashley, how do you respond? Ash, can you hear me? Ash. Look at her. She's a really good cat.
Wait a second. That guy just had a great point. That guy just had a great point. He said that Kanye himself. I remember that. Kanye himself said, he's a rapper. He's not even my competition. Justin Timberlake is my competition. Maybe Justin Timberlake's a rapper. Well, it's hip-hop, but he raps in his songs. So we're both right. There you go. I like that. Okay. Everybody's right. We're both right. Everybody's right. I'm fine with that. All right, Sky, what's coming out in the movie theaters this weekend? Oh, well, I know you've been looking forward to this one, Mike. The Bucket List is coming out today with Jack Nicholson. Hi, honey. You've been waiting a long time for that one? Tell us about it, Jack. Cut 35. Everybody considers their own talent all the time. Whether they know it or not, the fear of the unknown. These are... Interior private conversations that we have with ourselves. We haven't really seen them on film before. God darn, Jack Nicholson sounds old now, doesn't he? What is the idea of the bucket list? What is it about? They're both dying. They both found out. Oh, that sounds like the feel-good comedy of the year. What do you mean he's immortal now? He's the living dead. They have terminal illnesses.
Can't die. Ridiculous brun. And the bucket list is the list of things they want to do before they kick the bucket. So they go skydiving, race cars. First Sunday with Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan. That's a good rapper. Ice Cube, hip-hop artist. Oh, wait. That's what I thought. No, no. It's brilliant. Every time I say something that has to do with Ashley, P1 Matt Damon takes a quick pick. Quick peek in there to see how she's responding to it. Go ahead, everybody. Take a look. Well, she will not respond to my hip-hop questions. Why not? I don't know. I don't know why she's so mad right now. I don't either, but she will not answer my hip-hop or rap questions. Very childish. Ash, can you hear me? Yeah, Sky, you're being very childish. You are. I'm sorry. Go ahead.
So first Sunday is about two friends who are these petty criminals and they find out they have this big debt to pay and so they decide that they're going to rob their neighborhood church. They end up having to spend the night in the church and they encounter the presence of the Lord and find that they're forced to deal with much more than they bargained for, Mike. Cut 39. What kind of name is Lee John anyway? When I was born, my mother had two boyfriends, Lee and John. She didn't know who my real father was, so she named me Lee John. I don't think I would have told that. That 10-second clip is better than any white actor I've heard in a clip in the last two years. I can't wait to see that. How come white people can't act? They can't do anything right. Who's a good, really good... Eddie, who's a really good white actor? And then I'll go, oh yeah, I forgot about him. I think I see Daniel Day-Lewis. Johnny Depp, dude. Mark Wahlberg. Didn't ask you. I think Johnny Depp plays the same weirdo in every movie. Mark Wahlberg was terrible, in my opinion, in The Departed. He was wrong. What about Matt Damon? Hey, Matt Damon. Matt Damon as a really great actor. He's good in everything I've seen. Matt Damon. Matt Damon.
And I'm not saying I don't like Daniel Day-Lewis. I'm not saying I don't. I'm just saying that in Gangs of New York and every trailer that I've seen for this new movie, There Will Be Blood, it's kind of that same guy. Wow. Wow. Wow. It's sort of that guy that talks like this. He does this in each one. And I go, okay, well, I've seen you do that before. So who's a great... So that makes him a bad actor? No, I've just seen it before. Like, you're doing it again. Like, it's the same guy. Weren't you that guy already? Casey Affleck. Who are we forgetting? Oh, I'll tell you who's a good actor. Let me turn your guys' mic on. Yeah, you guys can say, too, if you guys have an opinion. Kevin Bacon. No, the person I think is a good actor is Gary Oldman. He's a good white actor. But almost every time we play a clip and it's a black guy, it's good. Almost every single time. I say white people sound like they're doing a play. Like they're reading for an audition in a play. Is Tracy Morgan in that? Yep. His wife is leaving him. Yep. Because of his drinking. After like 21 years, he was 17 when they first got together.
And even though Tracy claims that he's been sober for three months, she says he's back on the booze and that she has to divorce him. She loves him and she doesn't want to. But, you know, she gave him every opportunity to try for the marriage. And she says he failed. Shauna just instant messaged me. Sean Penn. Yeah. He kind of does that same stoic dude in every movie, too. And Sam. Yeah, he was. No, I mean, it was a very challenging. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, it was a challenging character. He certainly wasn't that in, you know, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. It's garbage! Those were two very different roles. Yeah, but don't, in I Am Sam, don't you, like, you find a groove and you sort of stay in that and you don't go out of it. You find one way to do it, one way to speak, one way to act, one way to move. He's right. You just repeat it over and over and over and there's no dynamic in that. It's one note.
Now people are calling in to tell me who's great actors. P1 Crawdaddy. Yes. Who do you think? Christian Bell. Overdoes it. In my opinion. He's really good because American Psycho and then Batman and when he was a kid too. Dave Coulier. Dave Coulier is really good. Yeah, he's one of my favorites. The great Coulier school of acting. P1 Strawberry. Edward Norton. He's pretty good. He's very natural. I like Ed Norton. Ed Norton's pretty good. Edward Furlong. He has range. He's really good. He has range. Thank you very much. P1 Brad. Yeah, how about Kevin Spacey? He sort of plays the same guy, too. He's getting worse as he gets older. Yeah. He is always that guy. He's always that same, very, you know, glib. What about Robin Williams? Did you guys forget him? He's brilliant. He's a brilliant actor. So good. I love that manic thing that he does. I like when he does voices. Like in Birdcage, that was good. Or like when he does John Wayne. Or like that pseudo-British voice. So awesome. I have a really strong opinion, I'm afraid to give it. Just do it. I don't like Robert De Niro as an actor. I used to think I did. I used to think I did.
Before I considered myself really a fan of film. So you're saying Robert De Niro, King of Comedy. Robert De Niro, The Godfather Part II. Robert De Niro analyzed this. I don't need your help, Rob. Eddie, you're naming characters I love. Robert De Niro plays a lot of characters I love. Meet the parents. But you think other actors could have done those characters better? He brought them to life. I think. I mean, it was his interpretation. Certainly. Love the characters. Now see, when you say other people could do it better, now I feel, now I gotta come up with people that I think would do it better and I can't. I mean, you don't have to come up with names, but you believe that. I'd have to think about it. If you... All I'm saying, let me be very clear about what I'm saying. I think his performances are very stiff. Like they seem like somebody reading lines sometimes. I recently watched Goodfellas again. And I went, wow, I love the character Jimmy Conway. It's a great character. But...
De Niro does some things in that movie that are very like acting. Wow. Sound like acting. Wow. Okay. Yes. Shauna just said a true actor right now. True actor like, wow, that guy is crazy, scary good. Philip Seymour Hoffman. Yeah. Crazy. This guy, he does so many different things. Really? He was able to play... So it seems like... Turn around and do something completely different. You need me recognized. I think I get what kind of actor you like. Somebody that can play something. You're not the same thing every time. You like the chameleon. Eddie, I don't like actors that do what you think the Deftones do. The same song every time. I like people that do something every time it sounds different. To me, a good actor is, do I buy them in that role? Do I buy it? Am I lost in it? Am I looking at Robert De Niro...
That's a good point. Or am I watching a movie where I... When you watch King of Comedy, I don't feel like I'm watching Robert De Niro. I feel like I'm watching Rupert Pupkin. Well, you're definitely not watching... He does have range. He does different stuff. Man, that's a tough one. You got me on the one. That's tough, man. Because I'm so in love with King of Comedy. I love it so much. I love him in it. Go ahead, Sean. I was going to say, when he has the right director, he's really, really good. He relies heavily on the director. So if he's with Scorsese, it's probably going to be very good. When he works with other people, no. Yeah, that's a good point. When De Niro does stuff out of Scorsese, but see, me even with some of the Scorsese stuff, but I'll tell you what, that king of comedy is hard to beat. Yeah, dude. It's tough to beat. And he's so funny in it. He's so... I got no problems with De Niro and King of Comedy. He's pretty funny. Mikey Show, hello. Yeah, I got a good actor for you. Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman's pretty good. But he's black. But he does do the same... You know what? Morgan Freeman plays a lot of the same... You know who plays the same characters in every movie? Some of those good white actors. You know who's a good... You know who does the same guy every single time? Denzel Washington. For sure. He does the same guy. This new movie that he's in, The Great Debaters...
I go, haven't you made that 50,000 times? I've seen that movie. John Q, Training Day, they're all like thrillers. The Don't Tase Me Bro, brilliant actor. Don't Tase Me Bro. He's great. What about Leonardo DiCaprio? He was good before Titanic. After Titanic, he became... Neglect Titanic. Before Titanic, Leonardo... Did you not see the beach? Before Titanic... Thank you, Eddie. Thank you. I haven't seen the beach. And you know what? Somebody said to me, Eddie, you got to see the beach. And I was like, come on. It's like the first hour and 15 minutes are really interesting and good. And then it gets really weird. When Titanic came out... Suddenly, did somebody just pass out? Yeah, I think it was Zen. When Titanic came out, it was like he became a can of spaghetti sauce instead of homemade spaghetti sauce. It was processed. It was like, oh boy, come on with that. But before that, he was like fresh ingredients, homemade. Have you seen The Departed? The Departed's pretty good. He's pretty good. He's awesome in it. He's pretty good in Departed. Which one? Yeah, have you seen The Aviator? Nope, I'm out. I saw Aviator. I'm out.
Catch me if you can. Yeah. Oh, stop it. Cookie cutter. Not homemade. You're a cookie cutter. Tell you good. What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Basketball Diaries. That Leo DiCaprio is a talent. Growing pains. Growing pains. Growing pains. Growing pains huge. Yeah, probably the best in growing pains. For sure. Mikey Show. Hey, uh, hello? Yes, you're on the air. Oh, hey, uh, Paul Giamatti. Hmm. Eddie, what do you think of Paul Giamatti? I like him, but he's definitely a guy that kind of plays the same role. See, you know what it is? It's certain guys, they have a real style. You know what I mean? Almost like a tick. Yeah. It's them, you know? Right, so every time they play a character, you're going to see a little bit of that tick. Like walking. Yeah, exactly. That's a very good example. Mikey Show. Hey, how's it going? It's P1J. Hey, man. Got an actor for you, dude. Who? Billy Bob Thornton. He's good. I think he's pretty good. It depends if he's taking it seriously or not. Him in comedies, it depends what it is, but there's a lot of roles I don't like Billy Bob Thornton in. You know who's a tremendous actor? Brad Pitt is a real good actor.
He's amazing in Seven. He's almost too big of a personality now for me to not look at the screen and go, I'm not watching Brad Pitt. I mean, it's Brad Pitt. You know what I just saw that I think that you would... It's a terrible movie, but he's real good. The Jesse James movie? The Jesse James movie. Yeah, I want to see that. He's real good in it. Really? Yeah. The movie is a bore. but he's really good. And in Seven, I don't think it gets much better than Brad Pitt. In Seven, he's awesome. And that story that the guy that plays his boss in Seven told us here on the air, R. Lee Ermey, the guy that plays the drill instructor in Full Metal Jacket, he said during the making of that movie, he took Brad Pitt out onto the back lot of Warner Brothers. I think that's who made it. Took him out on the back lot, and he said he yelled at him for 20 minutes. And told him how he needs to be professional. And then he said that Morgan Freeman did the same thing the next day. He said they did it because this is when Brad Pitt was still young when he made seven. And he was a partier. And he flew his friends in from Indiana, which is where he's from. He flew his high school friends in and they went out and they drank all night long. They just partied all night. And he said that when he came in the next day, he didn't really know his lines.
R. Lee Ermey took him out on the back lot and yelled at him and told him he needed to act like a professional. He said every day after that he figured it out. He was good. That's cool. 5701053. Did you mention all the movies, Sky, that are coming out this weekend? Well, we did miss one, and that is The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, a VeggieTales movie. That's out today as well. Why do you do things like this? What? Lots of people have kids, dude. There it is. 570-1053 is our phone number. You want to give us a call at the beginning and end of every show. It's open phones. You can call about anything you want. What about John Malkovich? No. Not that one. I just don't... I wouldn't classify him as one of the best. One of the all-time actors? Yeah. Not for me. Anything. It's an open phone segment, so you can call about anything you want. And don't forget, one more week. That's it on the Best of CD. After... This time next week, it's off sale. You can get it at cricket stores. Don't forget, you can check out the pregame show and watch the Chargers game this Sunday. Doors open at 7 o'clock in the Little Italy Urban Bar and Restaurant. It's at 1953 India Street. Me and Lou Bush will be broadcasting live. There you go. Mikey Show, hello. Mikey Show. Hey, what about Mike Myers? One of the world's finest actors. Have you ever seen 54?
54, dude. He's brilliant. Mikey Show. How about Jay from Jay and Silent Bob? He's really good. He's really good. Yes. Wide range. Mikey Show. Hello. Hello. Yes. I just wanted to chime in on this actor thing. Go ahead. I just wanted to give Mikey a hard time. You know, he said his criteria for the actors that he likes is because they play such different roles. I mean, what all these black and Hispanic actors. I mean, I love a lot of them, but how do they play different roles? I mean, Denzel Washington, but most actors are just that way. Yeah, I said I didn't like Denzel Washington, and what Hispanic actor did I name? No, I'm just saying as far as, like, you mentioned that... Yeah, I didn't name liking Hispanic actors, though.
No, but you just said the thing you didn't like about, it was like, I thought you were saying that minority actors played a diverse role and that's what you liked. I just didn't understand that argument. No, I said that black actors, every time we play a clip of a black actor on this show, he's always real good. Every time we play clips from white actors, it sounds like amateur hour. Yeah, a lot of them do. But there are a lot of great actors out there. Well, that's what we've been doing for the past 20 minutes is naming them. Yeah, Mike, don't limit yourself. 20 minutes I've been naming great white actors now. Stop keeping the white man down. Yeah, Mike. I'm ready. All right. You're right. You're good looking. I'm not. I don't know what to tell you. Stop it. Come on. Come on. No. I'm getting defeated. Hey. Ashley, help me out. What? Mikey show. Hip hop. Hey. It's rap. She finally got better. Yeah, I'm glad. Took her a while to recover. She's back in on us. You're back, Ash. You're back. Explain. Now that you're back to the show, explain what happened. What happened there? Where did you go? Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. No, what? No, I'm here. I'm fine. Okay. Yeah, I'm fine. She doesn't want to talk about it is what she's saying. No, I don't. You guys know that hip-hop and rap is one of my passions. I personally rap and I'm really into hip-hop dancing and I don't understand why you guys don't take me seriously on things that I know a lot about. I know. Well, we apologize. Collectively, for the entire show, I apologize for everybody. It'd be like if we were discussing penguins and we didn't want to hear what she had to say. She was wrong.
I was not wrong. You were wrong. I was not wrong. Kanye himself said you were wrong. Well, because Kanye himself does not want to be compared to 50 Cent because 50 Cent wraps, like, not good. Kanye doesn't know what he's talking about in regards to him. Thank you, Mike. That's all she's trying to say. Mikey Show, hello. Yes, hello, you're on the air. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Yeah, I just got a couple actors. Go ahead. Let's hear them. Jim Carrey and Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks, yeah. No, he always does the same thing. He does. Yeah, except for Turner and Hooch. What about Big? Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, what about Saving Private Ryan? Totally different. Yeah, what about Forrest Gump? What about Philadelphia? Yeah, he's always like Forrest Gump in all his movies. He's always Forrest-y. So you're saying his character and Forrest Gump and Philadelphia were like exactly the same? Totally. Right on. To each their own. Okay. Who was the other guy he said? Jim Carrey. Pet Detective. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was brilliant in that. Okay. Should have wrapped that. I knew today's testimony was going to be really special. I do this thing on Fridays where I give my testimony. It's funny because I'm writing my kid. Every day I keep a journal for my kid. I told my kid in the journal today for the first time about, and he's only 16 months old, but I'm keeping a journal for him. Because when he gets older, I want him to know stuff. And I got to this point in the journal today where I was writing and I was telling him what my testimony is. I had to write in there that your dad used to drink too much. And it was really tough to write that in there for my son. One day I'm going to have to explain to him what it was about. But I used to be addicted to alcohol. I used to be a very different person than today. Today I'm accessible.
And today, anytime my friends want to call me, I will be there to pick up the phone. But it used to be different. I used to not be available. There are probably a lot of people that are listening right now that are going through something similar, where they haven't picked up the phone when their friends have tried to call them for a long time. You're listening to me right now, and I know that you could be one of those people that your friends and your family have been calling you for a few days, and your phone's been off, and it's gone straight to voicemail. You could be a family member or friend who's been trying to get a hold of somebody for the past few days, and you can't because it's been going straight to voicemail. That used to be me. I came to a point where I knew that if I didn't do something about it, I was going to die. And so one night I was laying in bed, and I was looking up at the ceiling. I had these tears just streaming down the side of my eyes. I wasn't making any noise. I wasn't crying. I wasn't making any noise. It was just tears were just... pouring out the sight of my eyes. And I was laying there and I knew that pretty soon something really bad was going to happen to me. And I thought, oh man, it's going to be pretty tough on my family if something bad happens to me. And I thought, what's going to happen, man? Am I not going to show up to work and then people are going to have to come to this apartment and figure out that I'm not alive anymore? That's just, it's a terrible thing to do to my family. And I remember at the time I was completely...
Even though I did have friends and I did have family, I got into a point in my addiction where I was just empty and alone and sad and pathetic. And on Fridays, I tell that story because of the good side of it. I heard this lyric driving in this morning from the band that I play Third Day on Fridays that said, you got to walk through the valley to get to the mountain of God. That's what it was for me. I had to go through the real bad times to get to the high times. And this one night, when the tears were coming out of the side of my eyes and I was thinking all that stuff, I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life. And he changed everything for me. And today, he is truly my friend. Today, Jesus Christ is truly my friend. And I love him so much. And he changed everything for me. He made everything bad new. And so today, if you're listening to the show and you are struggling with an addiction or if you've lost somebody that is really, really important to you that you love very, very much and they're not here anymore. Or if you have a son or a daughter that is not with you anymore. Or if you are new to San Diego and you don't know anybody and you're so lonely because you don't know anybody and you feel like it's...
not going to get better. You feel like you're in that valley. Or if you've broken up with a boyfriend or a girlfriend or a husband or a wife and you just feel alone and you feel like it's not going to get better. Or you're doing something that makes you feel bad about yourself. It could be that you're doing something that you don't like but you feel like you have to do. You're into prostitution or maybe you're doing something like you're You're stripping and you don't want to, but you have to because you've got to make ends meet. You're doing something that you don't like. I used to be bulimic. Maybe you have a secret that you don't want to tell anybody about. That's why I do this every Friday. I tell you, well, there is hope. And it can get better. For me, what I did was I turned my life over to God. And now, today, holy Toledo, man.
Things are so different for me today than they were. They're so different for me today. Now, in today's life, I have a little boy and a wife and great friends and a goofy radio job that I never, ever would have had if I wouldn't have made the changes that I made. Jesus does not have a website that I know of yet, so I just give the one out to my church, and you can go there and check it out if you're interested. and check it out if you want to. The song is by a band called Third Day, and it's called Tunnel, and it's about hope. The song is totally about hope. So if you feel like you're lacking it today, listen to it. Really listen to the words. Lovely and talented Missy's coming up next, and we'll see you on Monday morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out. Thanks for coming in. Guests, play! Don't pretend to know what you're thinking And I can't forget what you're going through
