Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner again last night, winning four Golden Globe Awards, including Best Drama. Well, the Chargers are not able to stop Willie Parker or the Steelers as Pittsburgh ends the Chargers season 35-24 yesterday. Norv Turner talks about the Chargers' loss. First of all, I can't say enough about the Steelers. They're an outstanding football team. They truly are. As you watch them and what they've done, there's two or three. teams in this league that play defense like that. Probably Baltimore and Pittsburgh are going to play next week, and they're probably the two best defenses in the league. Pittsburgh gives you a lot of problems. They're outstanding. Yes, I'll say. Eddie, how'd you see that one? Well, you know, if you can't get off the field on third downs, then you're going to lose football games. And they were not able to stop the Steelers ever on third down. It was hard to watch. It was like seeing the Chargers defense from the first eight weeks of the season. All the mistakes that we were seeing, not being able to tackle, stupid penalties, all these things that I thought they were over and done with, that all came back. Part of that is they played a real good football team, but part of that is I thought they were playing very undisciplined football. You can't do that against the Steelers. Poor tackling.
And, you know, just people out of position, things like that. It was hard to watch. You know how I say that I use Mac computers now. And I would never, I don't want to go back to using a PC. I just don't want to because I've used PC for years. And the one thing that I can say about using Mac computers is that they just work. Like, to me, that should be their motto. They just work. And I don't have issues. I just don't have the same issues that I used to have. And I was watching the game yesterday and the defense, and I'm thinking to myself, I'm looking at Pittsburgh's defense, and I go, man, they just work. There's no firing of their coach halfway through the season. There's no adaptation to this. If you just do it this way, it'll work, but you have to do it in this. philosophy that we have, or whatever it is. I'm like, that's great, man. You know, you guys have this philosophy that you play in this certain way, and if it's all executed right, then it just, it works flawlessly. And I'm like, that's super. But it isn't, and it doesn't work. And it just sucked. It just was a bummer. And I just want, you know, I was talking to B-Dub, who is, you know, big Charger guy.
It's Eddie's former roommate, and he's also the program director for the sports station here. And we were debating the head coach situation. Really? Yes. And, you know, he is a big Norv guy. And who knows what it is? All I know is that, you know, how long with San Diego saying, well, there's always next year. There's always next year. Well, maybe next year it'll all come together. Merriman will be back and LT will be back and then we'll go to the Super Bowl and win it. Yeah, I mean, I have a hard time putting this one on Norv. You know, he doesn't, you know, this is two years in a row that he doesn't have his full complement of guys. And it's not like a couple of, you know, role players. I mean, it's your best defensive player and your best offensive player. You know, so, you know. I give him credit for getting the Chargers where they were. Really, we shouldn't have been in the playoffs. It was borrowed time. And the fact that we made the playoffs, the fact that we won a game in the playoffs, that's pretty good. I mean, I'm never going to be the guy that's resting on his laurels and being like, yeah, dude, we made it. No, I want to win the Super Bowl every year. And hopefully that's what the Chargers philosophy is. But if you look at who is returning next season,
the team that they're going to put on the field next season, hopefully with everybody healthy, they're going to be one of the favorites. Dude, they got to be, man. I mean, they have to do better than this year after year, year after year. You know what I mean? It's the same thing that I say about the Padres. I don't want to be mediocre. I want to be the Yankees dominant. Same thing in football. We have... Yankees haven't been dominant. That's not really the point, Rob. That's not what we're talking about. Yeah, in the 50s. That's awesome. That's a guy that's talking to me right now with a UMass sweatshirt on and a Boston Red Sox baseball cap. I think that there was a lot of people, San Diego fans, that going into this thing, not just the game yesterday, But there's a lot of San Diego fans going, so is this the game? Is this the game where they lose like they always do? Is this the game where they lose in the playoffs like they always do? I hate it. I hate that feeling. I hate that that dude from Pittsburgh was right in everything that he wrote. That does really suck. I hate that. And if you're a San Diego fan, if you're a Charger fan, it's like how many times?
You know, you know, I'm kind of surprised you're saying that I'm not I'm not in that in that frame of mind at all, because I really didn't expect them to be here. So everything that they did was kind of like icing, you know, on the cake, you know, because I really I mean, four and eight, you know what we were saying. I mean, the season was over and, you know, to rattle off, you know, five in a row was gigantic. And, you know, I mean, I want to win the Super Bowl, obviously. That's the goal heading into the season. And they should have never been 4-8. That's my thing. No question about it. But that wouldn't have changed anything. If they would have gone, you know, 10-6, 11-5, they still would have been in the exact same position. Yeah. You know, in the playoffs. They'd still be in the playoffs. They would still be in the playoffs. They still would have played Indianapolis. They still would have beat Indianapolis. And they just ran into a better football team. Pittsburgh is a dominant football team. And that happens. So I'm not really upset. I mean, I'm bummed that I don't get to broadcast next week and I don't get to see the Chargers play a home championship game, which would have been awesome. But, you know, I mean, they ran into a better football team. What can you do? That happens. I want to have that feeling. I want to have that feeling like when we were growing up in the Bay Area and the 49ers were going into the playoffs.
And you weren't thinking about your football team. You weren't thinking, I wonder if this is the one where they break our hearts. You know, didn't feel that going into those games because you had genius coaching and you had all pros on the field. And I, you know, personally, I feel like we have all pros on the field and we don't have the genius coaching. I don't feel that we do. You know, and four and eight, why were we ever four and eight? Why didn't we have, why weren't we, it isn't enough for me, for us to limp into the playoffs and win a division at 8-8. I just am like, come on, can't we do better than this? I mean, we have a Ferrari in terms of the players, and I agree with you, man. Like, this LT being out and Merriman being out, I get it. I just, listen, I think that the way that you're thinking about it, Eddie, is good, and I need to try to adopt it in order to not... be so bummed out about the Chargers because next year, next year. If I am AJ or Dean or whoever, you know, is in charge over there, I would tell North Turner, I said, listen, man, you're a head coach. You need to hire an offensive coordinator because you are trying to do all things. You're being the head coach, you're calling plays, you're the offensive coordinator, and you're doing all these things. And I think that
distracts from what you should be doing as a head coach. You know, as a head coach, you should be supervising everything. Is that rare? Do not a lot of other head coaches do that? Yeah, there's very few that are, you know, dual. And why does he do it? Because, you know, he designed this offense and he wants to be able to be in control of it. And he's a great offensive coordinator. But to add head coaching duties on top of that, it's too much. You know, then you detract from your head coaching. Well, he said himself, when we asked him last week, said, hey, is this fair, the whole thing about you're not a motivator? And his answer was, well, if I wasn't in charge of this and this and this and this and this, maybe I could be more of a, quote, cheerleader. Which I don't think that he would be more of a cheerleader if he had less response. He's not wired that way. But, eh. So that would be the first thing I'd do. I love the fact that Ron Rivera is coming back as the full-time defensive coordinator and has a full offseason to...
figure out his personnel and develop some new stuff. There's some big off-season stuff they need to get done. They need to figure out what they want to do with Darren Sproles, how big of an offer they want to make him. They've got to get Phillip Rivers re-signed. They've got to get Sean Merriman a new contract. They've got a lot of stuff they've got to do. I think their biggest off-season priority is to fix the offensive line. Once they do that and get it... They need to get a playmaking defensive lineman. Thank you. Poor Jamal Williams. That guy can only do so much. Igor Olshansky, good riddance. It was great having you on the Chargers. I'm so glad I don't have to not hear your name called for a full season. Luis Castillo, like Zess says, should get back on the juice because he needs something. I mean, he needs to make more plays. And they need Sean Merriman back. Who's that? Who's that 24 I complained about all day long yesterday? Cletus Gordon. Eddie? Yeah? I was so irritated. He's a guy that... He made the team as a return specialist and worked on his game so that he became the nickel cornerback. But I've never seen him perform at a high level to where I would think that he would deserve... He's a turd. He's a turd. I wouldn't say he's a turd.
heard, but that was kind of harsh. Well, good thing is Antoine Cason, the number one draft pick, he's had a full year now, so he's going to probably take over that role next year. But there's quite a few guys that should be worried that they're not going to have jobs next year. P1s, what do you think? 570-1053, our text number 35253, our answering machine number 858-715-1923. Oh, what a heartbreak. You want to hear Josh Lewin, his final call of the game? This has got to be sad. Let's hear it. 107. It was a glorious run, but the road to the Super Bowl will not wind through Mission Valley. It will not take that detour after all. Your final score here in Pittsburgh is going to be the Steelers 35 and the Chargers 24. It was one of those days where when stuff starts to go wrong, like when the football,
Hit Eric Weddle in the helmet. Are you guys like, I mean, come on. What else? What else? Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. We got one snap in the third quarter. Unheard of. One. One snap in the entire quarter. Okay, I know nothing about football, but to me, when I was watching the first half of that game, I was like, wow, these teams are actually pretty evenly matched. And then the second half to me seemed like a whole different team. That's one thing that I've said all year long is that one thing I have to say about Marty Schottenheimer, and it's probably the last time you'll ever hear me say Marty Schottenheimer's name. In regards to Chargers. But Marty Schottenheimer and his coaching staff were phenomenal about going in at halftime and making adjustments. I thought they were excellent when they'd come out in the second half. Norv, not so much. I don't feel like he makes great halftime adjustments. I was irritated at like...
discipline stuff like why is there two delay of game penalties on the chargers yesterday like dude why is vincent jackson when he scored the first touchdown of the game flagged for 15 yards yeah for excessive celebrating bro You should not be doing that. You, out of everybody, walk your ass back to the sideline. In fact, walk in a straight line. Head down. Somebody should have scored him back to the sideline. Seriously. That right there. And dude, the other thing that I'm thinking yesterday, too, is like. Chris Chambers. I'm like, oh, look what happens when you throw the ball to Chris Chambers. He catches it. That's amazing. Hey, you should throw the ball to him. He's pretty good. Did you ever throw the ball to him? Yeah. 85 is not the only receiver. Neither is Vincent Jackson. There's other guys that catch a football. Wow. I got to say, I was pretty surprised, too, that they didn't try.
utilize Darren Sproles in, like, other ways. I mean, he's not a, you know, tackle-to-tackle running back. And they kept trying to do that. And I'm like, dude, this guy's 5'6", you know, a buck 50. What are you doing? Like, bounce him outside. Do something. And, you know, why not let Cromartie return punts and kickoffs? Or somebody, you know, that's what Cleese Gordon, that's how he made the team. You know, like, give Sproles a rest. You know what I mean? There was a lot of stuff I kind of scratched my head about yesterday. Hats off to that Pittsburgh defense, man. They are sick. They are unbelievable, man. They are real fast and real good. They're fast, dude. They're fast. Like, they're on the ball immediately. Sometimes it was like Philip Rivers, the ball would be in his hands, they'd be there already. Hey, how are you? This is going to be over real quick. He turns around and goes, hi. Phillip Irvin's like, hike, spaghet. It was crazy. Oh, man. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. And you can call our answering machine, 858-715-1923. And I hope Merriman's on today. I hope he's not, like, snoozing. Because the season's over, you know? For the Chargers, the season's over. And he was there.
He was in Pittsburgh, so he got home late last night. They did a close-up of him at one point yesterday, and it was during a point when it was over. And I said, I have to talk to him tomorrow. And I literally said, I go, what am I going to say? What are you going to talk about? What are you going to talk about? What are you going to talk about? 24 on tonight, maybe we'll talk to him. Hey, are you excited about 24? Jack Bauer, huh? What about that? What about Jack Bauer? Is it tonight? The 24th thing or was it last night? The premiere was last night, but they're doing two hours again tonight. So like a two-night premiere. Yeah. Well, it's four hours. They're all gone already. Oh, so good. Is it? Is that how they'll say it? That's right. So there'll be 20 hours left. Yep. So good, Mike. Was it good? Oh, I enjoyed myself. Eddie, did you watch it? I watched the Golden Globes. Skye, you love that. Did you not watch the Golden Globes? Well, I watched like the first half hour, 40 minutes of the Golden Globes and then waited for the commercials, you know, to catch up on my DVR. Right. And then watched 24 without commercials. But the Golden Globes annoy me. I have.
I have feelings about the Golden Globes and the whole format. It's an uncomfortable broadcast. You guys are in the know. You guys are in the know because I don't know the difference. There's a difference between the Oscars and the Golden Globes. I want to see if Eddie's thinking the same thing as me. Well, the Golden Globes are both television and movies together. Yeah. Which is already weird because then you've got, like, TV stars and movie stars in the same room. It's kind of weird. It's weird, right? They don't belong. And, well, it started with, like, the pre-show. My wife was watching it, you know, and I was kind of half watching it. And they couldn't hear the interviewer because they were right by the fans and the fans were screaming. Uh-huh. Every question that was asked, every person was like, I can't hear you. I can't. I can't. I'm sorry. I think you asked about my movie, so here's my answer. A good couple hours of that. Bad. Really awkward. And then the show is taking place in this ballroom, and they're all sitting at tables, eating dinner and drinking. What? Yeah. It's not like an amphitheater. It's not like seating. No.
They're all at different tables. Like, say, the movie, you know, for The Dark Knight. Everybody sits at that table. And then the TV show, 30 Rock, everybody sits at that table. And they're eating dinner, drinking, and people are getting up and, like, talking and mingling while the show's going on. And people, like, presenting actually go, excuse me, guys, I'm up here. Like, the first presenter was J-Lo. And she actually, she starts her spiel. And then she goes, hey, excuse me. Mommy's talking over here. Wow. People don't care. No one cares. You're hearing glasses clinking. You're looking at people butter their bread rolls. It's weird. It is awkward. It is really weird. What a bizarre format. It is. Yeah. And then during commercial break, like, they get up to try and mingle with people at other tables. Well, they don't make it back to their seat within the four-minute time span. So you're seeing people walk around. like little kids, you know? It sounds like you're trying to corral a bunch of cats. Yeah, and there's no actual, like, aisle way up to the stage. So, like, people are trying to find the way to the stage to get the awards, and people at the tables are having to, like, scoot their stairs. It is weird. They should hand them a flyer when they walk in that is the rules. Yeah, right? It is so odd. And it's kind of, you know, less
It's more casual than the Academy Awards. Robert Downey Jr. is putting sunglasses on during the show and people are eating. It is a bizarre broadcast. That is so weird. Do we know why Bush is giving a press conference right now, a news conference? Do we know what this is about? I think this is his bye-bye news conference. Get out of here. I didn't even know, but that's what it says. That's not the case, but there's still an enemy out there that would like to inflict damage on America. Americans. And... America. America. I'm not sure what the plural is. There is... Not to be confused with Jamiroquai. Yes, who I love. They're good. Yes. Great. A debate in the intel community about how big a problem they are, but... One of my concerns is that there might be a highly enriched uranium program. And therefore, it is really important that out of the six-party talks comes a strong verification regime. When is the inauguration? A week from tomorrow. My goodness gracious. I know. Yeah, a week from tomorrow. One week from tomorrow, new president.
What up? It always trips me out. Bring it on. I'm going to miss Bush. It always trips me out after two-term presidents because it's been your reality for a decade. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? It's been your reality for a decade. Yeah, like when Clinton left office, dude, it was... Shut your mouth. Devastating. Sean really loved Clinton. Oh, it still did. But I and then I get nervous, too, because I'm like, man, I hope they know where the knives are and I hope they know where the forks are. I'm sure there's someone to help them with that. You know what I mean? It freaks me out. Like, hey, dude, do you know where the button is in case you got to hit it? Do you know where the button is? Do they show you the button? Do you have the passcode for the alarm on the White House? Like when you come home? Are you going to answer the phone at 3 a.m.? Yeah. Yeah. Are you? What's that training like? Dude, I had a dream last night that I became president. Yeah. Wow. And and it was kind of like an accident, you know, like it all happened like on accident. That's news to me. And they were like showing me into the White House. And I was thinking like, oh, this isn't as cool as I thought it was going to be. But there was this one thing that was really cool. And it was I was in I was in what all I was concerned about when we went into the White House.
All I was concerned about was what is the master bedroom going to look like? What's it going to be like where I sleep? That was the only, it was consuming me. What's it going to be? No. It's all I wanted to know. It's all I wanted to know. And we went into it and I was struck by how 1960s-ish it was. Was it a clawfoot tub? It was not a clawfoot tub, thank goodness. It was one of those beds that has like the... You know, like drapes. Yeah. Canopy. Canopy. Seriously. But what I did like was that I was able to go in there and say close windows and like drapes came over the windows like I could say it. Very 24. Did you say shark sandwich? Yeah, I did not. I did not. Okay, so a bunch of text messages are coming in. 35253. This text says, Eddie, maybe you should just coach the Chargers. That's P1 Wisconsin. I'd love that. I'm down. I'm down with that. Don't pass. I like this job. Okay. Mikey, listening to you guys online for the first time. Oh, by the way, just want to let people know, if your iPhone users, The Mikey Show and Rock 105.3 is now available on it. Hasn't been. Really? It's been a big deal. Really? It's been a big, big deal.
But it is now through an application called iHeartRadio. It's free. Yeah, it's free. It's huge. If you go on your iPhone and you search for an application called iHeartRadio, you can get Rock 105. You can listen to the Mikey Show on your iPhone while you're working out. If you go to the Rock website and type in the keyword iHeartRadio, you can get it from our website, too. Sweet. He's actually passing a kidney stone. Mike, you're listening to you guys online for the first time. Bolts played a good game. Hope to see you here next year. Sproles played a good game, I'll tell you what. What did you just say? Sproles, he played a darn good game. He had 15 yards rushing. Yeah, but when he did that one thing. Yeah, that one thing was cool. No, he did a couple. He did two things. He ran back a punt, right? And then they caught it. That was the one snap of the third.
Uh-oh, Mike's upset again. I love what you did to Mike. You know, it was so funny because when at the end of the game. Which wasn't an interception. That was bogus. Yeah, it was. Oh, really? See, I didn't get it, Eddie. Explain it. I'm shocked it was challenged and not overturned because I saw the ball touch the ground. Do you remember the challenge when Vincent Jackson laid out and he caught that pass and then touched the ground so they called it an incomplete pass? Yeah. That's exactly what happened on that interception where the two guys, Both were kind of picking it off, you know, and when they went to the ground, the ball touched the ground and the other guy kind of scooped it up. And, you know, they said that he had his hand underneath the ball, so it never touched the ground. But I saw it touch the ground. Yeah. So I was like, it's the exact same thing. It's an incomplete pass. So that was one thing that I thought really. you know, screw the Chargers. And dude, what about... We were on the 20-yard line. And what about this? That completely changed the momentum. Absolutely. Do you remember when Willie Parker made the touchdown and he's doing the celebration where he's passing the football like a basketball and then he does the thing where he's like, you know... Yeah, that's not excessive. That's not excessive? That's what I'm saying. How come that's not excessive? There was some calls against the Chargers for sure. Yeah. For sure. But... Yuck.
This one says, Oracle, if it's any consolation, at least the Cardinals won. That's P1 Romani. A thousand percent rooting for the Cardinals right now. In fact, I want it to be Arizona and Baltimore just so the NFL will commit suicide. Because that would be the worst rated Super Bowl in the history. Four people will watch that and I'll be one of them. Okay, Eddie, I got a question. Out of the four teams that are left, what would make... I mean, even if the best is still a... What would be the best we could hope for? I think Steelers-Cardinals will be really cool. You've got a couple of storylines there. One, the Cardinals, obviously, first ever Super Bowl in their franchise history. Rick and Fitzgerald, who's the best wide receiver in football. Isn't he awesome? He's the best wide receiver. He's in a class. He's crazy good. And that offense going against the Steelers defense would be real fun.
The Cardinals head coach is the former Steelers offensive coordinator. Oh, my mom. So there's a lot of fun aspects of that. I don't want to see an all Pennsylvania Super Bowl. Neither do I. No, and I don't want to see the Ravens in the Super Bowl. They're boring. Thank you. So, you know, that would be the best matchup in my opinion. That would be cool. And living in Arizona, I have a fondness, so I'd like to see it happen. Let's see. 570-1053 is our phone number. Fun team to watch. Our text, yes. Fitzgerald. Our text number is 35253. What did you say about him? What did you text, Ash? What did I text? It's about him. He's supernatural. He's supernatural. He's supernatural. That guy's unreal. He is. Gosh. So on the show today, ladies and gentlemen, ginormous show. Well, first of all, we're going to talk to Merriman. Let's hope. I know. I hope. I hope we talk to Merriman. I hope he picks up. And Mary Lynn Reiskub. Oh, good girl. She's one of my favorite interviews ever. She's one of my favorite interviews ever. I blogged about her today. I have questions. I have questions. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't even know she was going to be on the show when I blogged about her today. Yeah. She's Chloe on 24. Chloe. I want to know if they wrote the pregnancy into the thing, into the show. Like, did they film? I think they did.
Well, I think she's already had given birth, but I think that she has a baby in the new season. And she's supposed to have, like, a big part in tonight's episode. And why do they name their kid Valentine is the other thing I want to know. That's a great question. Also, we're going to continue to play B-Rob's new song, Brett Favre Should Retire. Oh, I deleted it. I thought we were done. Hold on. I guess it's all gone. And Eddie will give you his thoughts and review these playoffs and go through all of that stuff. And your phone calls at 570-1053. Don't forget our texts are up at, I mean, our blogs are up. Blog it. Our texts are out. Our blogs, yes, are up at MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. So check it out. Brian Regan in the stand-up spotlight. They always say we're looking for intelligent life on other planets. That kills me. They have that qualifying condition on there. We're looking for intelligent life. Like finding any life anywhere wouldn't freak us out totally. We're looking for the more intelligent type. It's like we have found people on Neptune, but I don't want to be insensitive, but it's like we stepped off the lander and turned. There's a bunch of, we're from Earth. We're looking for intelligent life.

Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. What's up? This is P1 Matt. Hey, I just want to thank you for hooking me up with Sleep Train. Went there two days ago. We got a Stearns and Foster just like you and went to Santee Sleep Train. We got the bed for a price that I can't even mention on the radio. And then they gave us all the accessories, the sheets, a really nice bed frame, the mattress cover, you name it, everything half off. You slept on it yet? No, we get it delivered tonight. Lucky. Can't wait. I love it, dude. We didn't get the exact same one you got. They showed me the one you got, but we got one of the other Sturdens and Fosters, and they're all nice. Lucky. That's awesome, dude. That makes me happy. Call me back and tell me tomorrow morning how your first night's sleep was on that sleep chain mattress. Yeah, I might have to take Friday off. I'll be feeling too rested. I'll have to go take an extra day. Or maybe we can join them. Yeah. For a nap. Is it cool if we come over and take a nap later? Let's not. Yeah, the show. We got the California King. It's big enough for everybody. There you go. Thank you for the call. You guys having a killer time? Boons. Thank you. Sleep Train's your ticket to a better night's sleep. The Mikey Show continues featuring Mikey. A lot of my issues stem from my relationship with my mother. Eddie. A wee bit competitive. Skye. I own a spaceship. Oh, does that mean it's true? Save that clip. Sean.
It's so frustrating because I can't swear. I'm Mo Rent. Come on, let's face it. And Ashley. I'm a good job. No, you're not. I am. No, you're not. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Yeah, yeah. No, no more. Welcome back. It's The Mikey Show. It's 642. Clint Eastwood's new movie, Gran Torino, was number one at the box office this weekend, making $29 million. Philadelphia guarantees that there will not be a repeat Super Bowl champion this year by beating the Giants 23-11. Quarterback Donovan McNabb talks about the victory. It shows that we're strong mentally and physically of being able to get the job done when our backs are against the wall. And also being able to trust one another that each individual guy is going to do their job. He's got soup all over his face. He's got chunky soup all over his face. That's not even right, man. That's weird. Got to clean that chunky soup off when you're doing this. Oh, no. Eddie, they're coming in. Eddie. I don't want to hear any like.
I don't want to hear it. But they're coming in. What do I do? I got to read them. Hold on. Oh, no. Eddie's strapping himself in. Okay. You're all buckled up. Oh, you don't be bad fans. Don't be bad fans. The text messages are coming in. 35253. Chargers can't win a championship with Rivers at the helm. That's P1 all heart. Oh, no. Eddie, calm down. Oh, no. You know what? You're right. You're right. The guy had an MVP season. He threw for over 300 yards yesterday. And you're right. It was his fault. It was his fault. What did he do yesterday that was bad? What did Rivers do? He did not. He was great yesterday. He was the only guy that performed. Don't be bad fans. Eddie, this text message comes from PHI to the L.A.Y. Oh, no. To the what? What does he say after that? In the hizzy. In the hizzy. He says, Oracle, why are you dissing a battle for the Keystone State in Super Bowl XLIII? Because we live in California, bro. That's an interesting point, Eddie. Yeah, dude, but PHI to the L.A.Y. Don't care. Move back.
This one says, Eddie. I need this. He paused it. This is really tough. Eddie, the third quarter was like Lemony Snicket Series of Unfortunate Events. That's B1 Steelers, man. It was. We didn't even get the ball in a whole quarter. One whole quarter. That's got to be a record, right? That's like saying, you know what, Steelers, we're going to give you 21 points and we'll start. Seriously. You're going to start every drive on R40. How about that? Now you go. Now you go. This one says, Mikey, please forego the pep rally next year. Charger rallies from the Mikey show equal playoff losses. Next year, let's shut our mouths and march to the Super Bowl. That's P1 superstitious. Is that true, Eddie? It's not. We didn't have a pep rally this year. Yeah. Because the pep rallies we do are at like Qualcomm Stadium and they're gigantic. Right. We didn't do that. Yeah.
does jinx the Chargers is every time we mess with Boston Rob. What's up with that? Are you serious? Last year, we did the thing with the Patriots where we pelted him with different stuff and they lost. And this year, we did the human pinata and they lost. We've got to stop messing with B-Rob during the playoffs. Get ready, Zeth. I'll take it for the team. Oracle, as beat up as the Chargers D is, they played really well for being on the field the entire second half. That's P1 Devil Dog. No, they didn't. Yeah, we must have watched different games. No, they didn't. If you can't stop a team from converting on third down, you're going to lose. And they could not stop the Steelers ever on third down. And that's a bad defense. Dude. That's, you know, I mean, you look it up in the dictionary and that's... The definition of a bad defense. This one says, regardless of the outcome, still love my Chargers, and I'm damn proud of them. Good fan. It says 4-18, made it that far, and we're AFC West champs again. P1 Andrew, the Frake Train. Well, Andrew, I understand what Eddie's saying. Good fan. It's a great way to look at it. Me, myself, personally, I feel like my girlfriend just did it again. I love her.
I love her. Are you going to break up with her? No, I can't leave her. Another chance? How many times? Talk some sense into me. I can't though. I can't leave her. I love her. But she lets you down every time. I know, but she says she won't anymore. She says she won't. But history shows she does. You guys are going to get married next year. We are? Well, she wasn't all there this year. What do you mean? Well, some pieces of it were missing. That's true. That's true. She wasn't completely together. It was like a long distance relationship. And she went to the doctor and she tried to get it fixed. For the most part, she did. Hey, listen. This is what I can say about her. Like, deep down, she's a good girl, man. You guys had a great Christmas. Totally. Christmas time this year, dude. It was like a miracle. Dude, it was like the best memories. We have the best memories of Christmas this year. Me and my girlfriend, Georgia. Maybe she'll change. Yeah, yeah, but you know what the problem is? Is like Skye said, you know, like, I've said that with her before. Yeah, you guys always have this great holiday, but then the new year rolls around. Yeah, I don't know, you guys. I really think this was the last time. Okay, then fine. I still will take her back. And Eddie says we're going to get married next year. You will. Congrats. Let's see. This one is a sentiment that...
I cannot tell you how many times I've heard this, Eddie. It's not about the Chargers, so you'll like it. I made Eddie's shepherd's pie this weekend. Wow. And it was... Really? I second that statement. Sky, did you do it? I sure did. I was very proud of myself. Look at you. I was very proud of myself. Phenomenon. I swear. Did you doctor it or did you keep it true to form? You didn't do it. You didn't take anything out. No, I didn't use the zucchini. I bought it, but I forgot it. It was in the fridge. Yeah. Um, but no, I did it myself. I was so, I was, I had like answer nuggets. Yeah. I had like three pots going at once. It was crazy. Oh my God. Crazy. Look at you. And it came out good. Oh, the boo loved it. Did you bring some leftovers? No. Uh, five, seven, oh, one Oh five, three. Our text number three, five, two, five, three. Uh,
Guys, I need your help. I need to know who sings the song you're playing for your intro. That's P1 Pit Snipe. That is Buddy Guy. And the song is called Baby. Please don't leave me. Our text number is 35253. So if you want to get in on those texts, hit us up. Texts are going off today. I know, man. Texts are going crazy. P1 Captain Dave, you still there? Yeah. What's up, man? Hey, good morning, Mike. I just wanted to talk to Eddie and kind of apologize. On his prediction last week, I think he had it pretty close to the mark. I didn't think we were going to get that many points together, but he got it. And also a little parody song real quick. You know the $5 foot long song? Yes. Yes. People are split on that, by the way. Go ahead. Five hour flight home. Seriously. Wow. Oh, dude. I didn't want to go off the top, you know. Oh, it's so true. Are you a Steelers fan? Actually, no. I was a Steelers fan yesterday. Oh, man. Are you a Raider fan? Are you a Raider fan? No, no, no. I'm a Denver Broncos fan. Broncos fan. Broncos fan. Gotcha. Gotcha. All right, dude. Yeah, yeah. I heard you guys got a new coach. I had a rumor that we might get that.
You know, the guy that starts with an S that you talked about earlier, Eddie, which I despise. Who? Who? Mr. Schottenheimer. No, you have a new coach. You have a new head coach, dude. You didn't know? Well, wait a second. I went to bed earlier last night. It's official. Oh, yeah. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. Why don't we take a break, and when we come back. Oh, my. When we come back. You guys aren't messing with me. No, it's the truth, dude. It's the truth. When we come. Is it? What's that? It's not Stoops. It isn't. It isn't. We'll tell you who it is. We'll tell you who it is when we come back, all right? Right on. All right, thank you, man. Yeah, well, let's take a quick timeout. And when we come back, Eddie will tell you who the new coach for the Denver Broncos is. All right, text number 35253. Our phone number 570-1053. The entire Mikey Show is available by podcast. If you go to iTunes or MikeyShow.com, you can check it out. It's really awesome. Back, hopefully, we'll be talking to Sean Merriman. We'll see. Mary Lynn Rice, the girl that plays Chloe on 24, is going to be on the show today, and she's always great, man. She is a wacky guest. When we come back, I'm also going to tell you what's up with gas prices here in San Diego. Are they going up or are they going down? I'll tell you when we come back. This is the Mikey Show. You've given everyone a great laugh and a great way to start my day, so we thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. Rock 105.3.

The Mikey Show's on. Anyway. Rock 5-3. Back to you, Mike. Everybody, it is 7 o'clock. Five people were injured in a head-on crash in Rancho San Diego on Saturday night after an alleged drunk driver crashed into oncoming traffic. Really? The Arizona Cardinals? They shock the world beating Carolina 33-13 Saturday night. Head coach Ken Wisenhunt talks about the victory. I guess when we joked about it earlier in the week being due, maybe we actually were. So, you know, that was a very good football team that we played tonight, and we made a number of plays. I think the proudest thing that I was was when we got down 7-0, we responded, and that was big for this football team. But we've gone through a lot, and we're playing pretty good football right now, and that's what's important. Here are the optimism in Ken Wisenhunt, so we can have optimism too. My girlfriend.
The San Diego Chargers, they will be better. If the Arizona Cardinals win a Super Bowl before the San Diego Chargers do, we should disband. This text message at 35253 says, Mikey, is it just me or did your girlfriend have a horrible time tackling yesterday? It was kind of embarrassing, but it's okay. She's a great girl. That's P1 Texas Red. This one says, Oracle, we really need a stadium too. That's P1 fishing line. See, winning would have helped that. I would think so. A lot. This one says, Eddie, Rivers did a great job. Our defense didn't. Can't wait for Merriman. By the way, can you take steroids if you're injured, not playing, or is it just when you're an active player? That's P1 Maloqueso. Come on. It's a legitimate question. No, it isn't.
This one says yesterday's game was important to LT. It was supposed to be his victory. He couldn't play. We didn't win. Maybe next time. Stars on the field, but coaches suck. That's P121 for life. Did you see LT, like, coming out of his skin on the sidelines? It did look like he was coming out of his skin. Like he just wanted to dive right in there. Yeah. You know? Yeah. He wanted to be in there. Ash. This one says, Eddie, Chargers do need a pass rusher. Should they go free agent route or draft? Who's available? The guy that's going to be on the phone in about 10 seconds? How about him? He's the best pass rusher in the league. That is true. He's on the team, ladies and gentlemen. Don't forget about him. This is the Bud Light Sean Merriman Report. That's bittersweet. It's going to be the last Sean Merriman Report this season. Sean, are you there? I'm here. I'm here. Hey, listen. I got to tell you, man. I got to give you props for, first of all, being on that flight on the way home yesterday. And here it is, 7 o'clock in the morning. You're fulfilling your commitment. And I think that's awesome, dude. So I just want to say thanks, man. And this is going to be the last time we're talking to you for the season. So, you know, thank you for doing that. And it has been a fun season talking with you. Yeah, yeah, definitely. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out how we wanted it to this time.
We got to get ready for next year. There are some bright spots. You're going to be back healthy when we start up again, and LT will be back healthy. I don't know really what LT's injury is. It seems like it's been kind of shrouded in secrecy. There's definitely, well, it looks like it's this. It looks like it's this. What do we know about LT's injury? What has he got going on? Well, I think he did officially, well, the reports that I've seen, he did officially come out and say his groin or abduct or something was torn. Okay. I did read that. Eddie, what is it? It's a tendon in the groin that's torn completely away from the bone. Oh, my. So he'll probably have surgery this week to fix that. Yeah. Which is good. Yeah, because when, I mean, he can go through surgery, get those things healed, and they're either better, as good or better than they were before, right? Yeah, he'll be fine. And, Sean, how you feeling? I feel great, man. I mean, my body anyway. Other than the loss yesterday and how we lost, man, it was terrible. But my body feels great. Well, I can't wait to see you back out there next year, man. As I'm sure every Charger fan is saying to you. I mean, I think it's going to make a big difference having you on the field. No questions.
The leadership, but also just this, you know, what you do for that team, man, on the field is going to be great to see. Well, I can't wait until I get back, man. It's something I've been anticipating for, you know, a long time and just having the patience to sit back and watch. You know, it's hard for me to watch, you know, a game like the Colts or a game, you know, against the Steelers when we don't get the right amount of pressure on the quarterback and something like that, a sack, forced fumble or something. can ultimately change that game. And that's why I know my importance is to the team. Eddie. Sean, have you ever seen a third quarter like that in any kind of football game where a team completely dominates the time of possession and the opposing team only has one snap? I've seen it in a regular season. But in the playoffs, it hardly ever happens. And that's the most disappointing thing about the whole situation. In the playoffs, you just can't lose like that. I mean, there's a bunch of guys that just kept fighting and kept doing it, but it's like everything that we did, it just went wrong. I mean, ever since the guy jumps up in the air, tips the pass, and they barely pick it off. And Vincent completes that long pass that he stretched out for and almost made an amazing catch. We're looking at a whole different ballgame.
That's the margin of error in the playoffs. You know, it really comes down to seconds and inches and one or two plays. They can ultimately turn that whole game around. We got Sean Merriman on the phone. Even the weird things, like the football hitting Eric Weddle's helmet, you know? Even the weird things weren't going our way. I mean, how often do you see those things happen, especially in the playoffs? They don't. You can't be too upset at that. It was the number one defense in the National Football League that we were seeing out there. You know, those guys were humming, man. They were coming to the ball and putting pressure on Phillip. They're a very physical team. And hopefully next year, that's what we need to start out there. We need to have a mindset that we're going to have physical everything we play. And I think that's where... I think that's where it starts at. You take a team around at the beginning of the game, knowing that they're not going to be more physical than us, it's really going to benefit us a whole lot. Sean, honestly, I've actually learned a lot about the game from having you on week to week. And one of the things that I will never forget is something that you said this season. And that was about the out-physicaling the other team. I'll never forget you saying that.
That the team that punches the other team in the mouth harder is the team ultimately that will win. And it's always stuck with me. It doesn't matter what game I'm watching, whether it's the Chargers or any football game that I watch. When I see guys out there dominating the line of scrimmage, either from the offensive line or the defensive line, I'm always looking to see who's nastier. Who's nastier? And that's what it comes down to. I mean, that's what it comes down to. And just because, you know, someone's being nasty or physical or whatever the case is, doesn't mean you have to take a guy over the pile illegally or do anything. But best believe when you go to make a tackle, you know, finish him. And then game tackle him. And then you push him backwards and never have a running back falling for it. Those little things like that, man, can change the attitude of a ball game. And when you say that, because, you know, There's a lot of football cliches that we hear, and one of them is finish the tackle. And so for a lot of people listening, they think to themselves, yeah, sure, that sounds good. What it actually means, I'm guessing, is you don't just make contact with a guy and figure that you've hit them so hard that that's it. It's over. You hit them so hard. It means hitting them and driving through and wrapping up and doing it like it's not over until you hear the whistle, right?
And having two or three guys hit them right after you hit them, if you have a bunch of guys that swarm into the ball, that really, I mean, people don't understand, that really takes morale out of a team because they feel like they're physically beaten and they can't do anything. So sometimes, yes, they're going to get a playoff to the National Football League. Guys are going to make some great plays. But they know after that one catch, that one run that they have for the next. quarter or two of that ball game, they might not get anything. Would you ever consider yourself, at some point, would you ever consider coaching? Yeah, I don't know the professional levels, man. I don't know if I can deal with some attitude. Oh, that's funny. But maybe getting in there with the Pop Warner kids might be fun. Oh, of course, man. I love coaching with kids. Sometimes in the offseason, I spend a lot of time with the Boys and Girls Club. and just really coaching the kids when they have that raw talent, when you see a bunch of talent that's there and really just mold in the technique. That's right. Eddie? Yeah, Sean, put your GM hat on for a second and tell us what the Chargers need to do this offseason to get to that next level. Yeah, I think that with the core group that we have,
We have the foundation there to win the Super Bowl because ultimately when you come into the season, that's what you look to do. I know some adjustments are going to be made like every offseason during the 14th. Some guys will be gone, maybe a coach, maybe players, whatever it is. But as a player, we all have to realize that that's going to happen and come together and come together for that one goal, and that's to get a ring. Okay, we're talking to Sean Merriman. Sean, since the Chargers are out of it, give us your Super Bowl prediction. Seeing Pittsburgh, man, I mean, it's going to be tough. I know it's going to be a good ball game against those guys in Baltimore. But I'm really thinking Pittsburgh and the Eagles. I mean, seeing Pittsburgh, but that never won offense. Right now, at this point in time of the year, defense wins games. You know, offense can put up 30, 40, 50 points, however many points you want. But you have to have a defense out there to stop other guys from scoring. Because if we put up 35 points and other teams score 36, we lose. At this point in time in the playoffs, you need defense to win games for you. It can't be one of those shootouts that you have during the regular season where the score is 38 to 39 or 38 to 40. It can't.
It can't be one of those games in the playoffs because the margins of area is so small. You have to have a defense to step up and play. There you go. Well, we'll have to watch and see and see if it ends up being Pittsburgh and Philly. If it was Pittsburgh and Philly, do you naturally root for the AFC team because you played in the AFC? No, not really. At that point in time, I'm just looking to watch for a good football game. Yeah. Do you do a Super Bowl party or do you wait to get invited? No, no. I'll just maybe show up. And just be there. I would think that LT would throw a great Super Bowl party. Vizio's everywhere. Vizio's pizza for everyone. That's right. You see what I'm saying? Vizio pizza and chunky soup. That's right. And artificial turf. Oh, yeah. Gazy turf.
That's right. All over the place. This whole house is done in easy. I love it. And then Sean just goes through the house tackling people. Sounds like fun. And people are like, we're not on the air, dude. What are you doing? Pull them all loose air. Yeah. With his weird hair. Looking like a Land O'Lakes box. You know what I'm saying? I got a question for you. Sean Merriman's on the phone with us. Sean, this is a strange question. Do you remember your dreams? No, I don't. I don't. I can wake up from them once in a while, but I don't remember them. When you wake up from them, do you have work dreams where you dream about being on the field? Oh, yeah. Yeah, definitely. What are they like? Normally, after a loud hit or something like that, I wake up. It's like an alarm clock. Like a loud hit? Oh, yeah. Really? I've had them before. Okay, I would think that an example of a loud hit would be the one that you put on Priest Holmes because you remember that one really well. Yeah, it was one of those. Even when I was younger, when I was in high school and college, those things too. And that will actually wake you up. The collision in your dream and the sound of it will actually wake you up? Oh, of course.
Because you would think that that would be, because usually when you wake up from stuff, it's like if it's a bad dream or something, but that's a good dream, you would think. It's a bad dream. It's just for the opposite person. That's all. No, yeah. It's a bad dream for them, so it woke you up. Yeah, somebody else somewhere also gets woken up. Yeah, exactly. Priest Holmes has that same dream. Yes. Yes, he does. Priest Holmes has the same dream. That's crazy. Yeah, I wanted to ask you that. For the most part, you don't remember them. You just remember them when you wake up from them and it's those big loud hits. That's kind of cool. That's interesting. Sean, it's been a great season, man. It's been fun to talk to you and kind of get your perspective on everything. We hope we have you back and we know you're going to make an impact next season, man. I appreciate it, man. I can't wait. I got a whole off-season to put a lot of work in. I got a whole bunch of people to pay back. We have to get back into a position where we need to win games and get back on top. Hopefully, I'm going to be a big part of that. Sean, in terms of your rehab with the knee, what are you able to do right now and what's coming up? What are you going to be going to next? What will you graduate to in terms of your rehab? I can run now. You can run? I'm guessing you can't lift any weight with it.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, I can squat and leg press and do everything. Oh, my. And so what are they limiting you from just yet that they don't want you doing just yet? Actual football drills, going out and cutting and making certain movements for about another three or four weeks. So you're saying... We're close. Yeah. So you're saying by the end of February, you're going to be able to start running and cutting? Yes. Oh, wow. That's awesome. That's awesome. Dude, that's good news. Cut it up. Yeah. Start cutting. All right, man. Well, listen, Sean, we appreciate it. It's been fun, and hopefully we'll have you back next season, and good luck with that rehab, dude. All right, guys. Appreciate it. All right. We'll talk to you later. Catch the Bud Light Sean Merriman report exclusively every Monday on The Mikey Show on Rock 105.3. Oh, you don't even know what stupid it is. The Mikey Show is on. They would have hosted the AFC Championship game here at St. Qualcomm Stadium because the Ravens upset the number one seed in the AFC Tennessee.
13-10. Here's Ravens head coach John Harbaugh talking about the win. I'm going to tell you what. That is a bunch of strong, competitive warriors on that other side over there. And that was a knockdown, drag-out battle. It was a very well-coached game on both sides. And I just think the Tennessee Titans deserve a ton of credit. That's as good a football team as you're ever going to see, as good a football game as you're ever going to see. And we're just very proud to have the victory against such a great football team. I always love the coaches. propping out the other team more than their own team. It's like, no, we were the better team. Yeah, obviously you were the better team. We beat them. That was a little overboard right there. It's like, dude, they're the greatest team I've ever seen. Yeah, we get it. You're a good guy. We get it. They're so great, I resign. Jeff Fisher should be the coach. He's so good. He's the best. Welcome back to the show. So before we went to break, A little bit ago, I mentioned that we were going to tell you who the new head coach of the Denver Broncos is. Eddie? Broncos are naming Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their new head coach. He's only 32 years old. Wow. What?
He's the youngest head coach in the NFL right now. Is B-Rob running around the building right now? Yeah, he's going to grab something. Gosh. Want to see what he thinks about that, losing his offensive coordinator. Oh, it doesn't matter, Mike. Oh, we're so good. A lot of key players. When we lost Charlie Weiss, we ended up getting, you know, this guy. I'm going to get Broncos tattooed on my back. Okay, so we did this thing called Weekend Worry Wart. where we ask people on Friday to tell us what they're worried about and what's coming up that weekend that they're kind of stressed out about a big deal, something that's a big thing. And so we're going to get those people back on the phone and check in with them. We heard from Autumn. I have a little bit of a situation. I'm in the National Guard and my unit has a PT test this weekend and we have to weigh in. I have no problem on the PT test, but I have to weigh. 152 for the weigh-in, but I'm in MMA and I've been gaining weight for an MMA fight. I missed it. What did you say? Well, Sky didn't understand what PT was. Well, I looked at Eddie all like confused and so he whispered to me physical training. Oh, that's what it is. Thank you. So she's got to lose weight for the PT, but she's also an MMA fighter and needed to gain weight. Oh, that had to be crazy. P1 Autumn. Yeah. So where do you stand right now?
Well, I made the weight. Nice. Are you okay? She sounds like she's going to fall over. She does. Oh, my gosh. How did you do it? Say again. So now I won't be able to do the fight. Oh, you can't do the fight because you won't be able to gain it back? No, I'm super sick. I'm not even sure. Oh, my gosh. She ran down her immune system so bad. Oh, I bet she did. Did you just dehydrate yourself? Well, I did really well on the PT test, and I got super dehydrated from it, made weight, and then, I don't know, homeless people stay at our barracks or whatever area during the week. Yeah. And I don't know if maybe they left something behind. I don't know. Like a little present? Herds and whey. That's right. Little germs. Autumn, so what did you get down to? Well, I didn't make the 152, but they did the tape test, and I passed that. Hey, did you ever send us a picture? I never got a picture of you. I was trying to send it right now, actually. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Send it over. We want to see what you look like. We want to see what a scrappy little fighter looks like. All right, Autumn. Well, sorry about you being sick. I hope you feel better. Call us when you have your next fight. We want to know. Yeah, yeah.
For sure. Next one should be against Boston Rob. There you go. That'd be awesome. Yeah, when you do have a fight, let us know, and maybe we'll come check you out. Oh, sounds good. All right, thanks a lot. Man, she sounds sick. You should have heard her when she picked up. Hey. What's up? This must be Zeph. P-Wanna Ariel, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Ariel, we're going to let listeners hear what you called in about. Check it out. My family is planning a wedding for us and my in-laws and my parents are paying for it all. And this weekend we went off and eloped to Vegas just because it was too stressful. And he's actually out of town. So I'm going to have to tell my family by myself. And then we're probably going to wait until he gets back to tell his family. That's crazy. Dude. And the parents had already paid for stuff. Oh, yeah. Ariel, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Okay, so did you tell them? Yeah, I told them. And explain to us how this went down. How did you do it? Okay, so I started off in San Marcos because my parents live in San Marcos and then headed up towards Oceanside because his parents live in Oceanside. So I told my parents first. How did you say it? I told them, you know, I grabbed it. It was really funny because...
Oh, sorry, guys. It's all right. It's all right. I grabbed their hand and I told them, guys, I want to tell you something because my mom and my aunt are like my parents. And I told them, you know, I love you and I just want to let you guys know I'm happy. And I know you're going to be mad, but just remember, I'm happy. So I'm like, you know, peeing in my pants. Yeah. So it ends up being that I tell them and they think I'm pregnant. So they're like jumping up and down thinking that she's pregnant. They were jumping like with joy, you know, like they were, you know, and then all of a sudden I finally tell them, no, I got married and I show them the ring and those, you know, the happiness turns the frown. Was there a lot of pursed lips and head shaking? Yeah, well, there was, like, a lot of cursing. Oh. Were they really? Yeah, yeah, they were in disbelief. But then they're all like, then we were having, like, a little get-together. So they're all like, well, now that you're not pregnant, let's take a shot, you know?
Wow. What do you mean? Like, are you happy? Are you not happy? You're not really showing me too much emotion, though. Like, because if I show it to you, you'd be out of my house in three minutes. Oh, wow. Sadly enough, when I told his mom, his mom still doesn't believe us because he came into town early, so we got to tell his mom together. But what ended up happening is that my parents are like, you know, there's too much money invested. You know, even if we do pull out everything, we're still going to lose money. So we're just going to renew our vow. So in essence, we just kind of lost out anyway. It's still going to go on. Stress is still on. We basically spent money at Vegas that we shouldn't have spent. And oh well. And how did it, when you told his mom, you're saying she didn't believe you? Oh no, she still doesn't believe us. Because in Las Vegas, you know, you get your certificate or anywhere you get married, I guess you get your certificate, you're supposed to mail it in and get your license. So they're like, no, no, no, this is just a paper. Anybody could get this paper. I'm sitting there like, no, they can't. Wow. I don't believe you can continue. Well, maybe they'll figure this out. Believe it or not, he didn't come with me with my mom. So my mom's really upset, like to the point where she sees him, she hugs him, she walks away. That was an overreaction. And it was all for naught. It's all for naught. Yeah. And they're going to do it anyway, though.
Well, doesn't that alleviate the stress that you're already married and, like, this is kind of like a bonus? No, the stress comes from, at least when I got married, the stress comes from planning the event, organizing, having to consider everyone's feelings, who wants to sit next to who, who's flying in town, who doesn't want to see who. Okay, well, you know, exactly. This guy's completely right. Like, the stress comes from everything that you need to do. But on top of that, there's more stress because... I have no decision-making. Like, you know, I'm working, he's working. There's no pawning between us. It's literally our parents. So now it came to me. Wow. I thought that we weren't going to have the wedding because I was like, there's no point. You know, we already did it. Like, I don't think my parents are going to be like, oh, yeah, let's keep on going with it. Yeah, well, do that now. Just think of it as their party. It's their party. Let them plan it. You're already married. Oh, there you go. Well, the thing is, though, that they still want us to be involved. Well, yeah. But all you got to do is show up. Yeah. All you got to do is show up. So let them plan it. In fact, in fact, turn turn the negative into a positive. Tell them you can even tell them, hey, you guys, really, this is your guy's thing. Have at it. You know, sky's the limit. And whatever you guys want to do, we'll we'll cooperate. And, you know, think of it as your wedding. That's true. And then just let them go for it.
Yeah. Just to put a little twist on things, I actually called the people that we were having a haul and I told them to put it on hold, like to not go through with the deposit because we weren't sure if we're going to do it. So now we're in like, we're like in arguments with them because somebody else wants the day and I, my stupidity got to me, you know, and. I ended up telling them to hold it. You know, we're not quite sure yet. We're going through this weekend, and then we'll call you on Monday. So now somebody else wants a date, and they're willing to put down a bigger deposit. So now it's like we're having to fight with them. So my mom's just totally like, I can't believe you did this. I can't stand you right now. You're not my daughter. Oh, wow. That's pretty harsh. Someone created a lot of problems for themselves, didn't they? Yeah. Oh, well, well, you know what? We're married. Congratulations on me. Congratulations. Yay. All right. Thank you for the call, Ariel. I love you guys. Love you. Love you. Dang. I did not think we were going to be getting a call from this guy, but remember Jake? Well, I'm due for this raise, and I'm actually overdue for the raise. I was supposed to get the raise about a month ago, and they keep putting it off and putting it off.
I know the economy's bad, but, I mean, I need that raise. I'm going to go in on Monday, and I'm going to demand it. So he was going to go in and demand it today. Right. But he's on the line, so something had to give. Are you there, Jake? Yeah, yeah, hi. So you decided not to do it Monday, today? Actually, I kind of got fired up after talking to you guys. I started thinking about it, and right after I got off the phone with you guys, I thought about it for a while, and then I went back in and demanded it on Friday. Yeah! Oh, my gosh. Jake, I told you not to do that, Jake. Wait a listen, buddy. Jake, what happened to more people get fired on Friday? Oh, no, Jake. No, no, no. What happened to that? Well, what happened was, you know, My boss was trying to duck out early, and so he wouldn't go back in his office. I said, I need to talk to you. He goes, well, I got to go. I got to, you know, catch a plane or something. I forget what he said, but I was like, well, then, and I said it right in front of everybody in the office. Who are you? You are nuts. You're not very smart. You're sitting in front of everybody?
Yeah, everybody was watching, and I said, look, I've been overdue for this raise. Who's coming with me? Yeah. Who wants a piece of this? Wow. I said Joe got his raise, and, you know. Oh, good. Call out your co-workers. Yes. Joe's getting coffee. Right in front of Joe. We're getting coffee here. Put the coffee down. Dude. So what did he say? Well, I said, I said, and if you don't give it to me, then I'm going to quit. Yeah. And he said, OK, quit. What a surprise. Right. That's shocking. Who would have thought that would have happened? And so what did you do, Jake? Well, I was it was I was it was I felt like I was in on the show The Office because it was like that was like something Dwight Schrute would do. Right. And I was stuck in the middle of this whole thing. And I.
And I said, I mean, I didn't know what to say. I just said, I'm taking the rest of the day off, and I walked out. Weird. Because the good news is you're fired. So are you. That's weird. I came back in today, and I'm just like, I can't. I need the money. So you're just going to pretend like nothing happened? No, everybody's making fun of me now. I have my face in my hand right now. I know it might. Oh, that's the worst. Who do you think you are? And then you come back. Yeah, and then you come back, you know. You're like in front of everybody, too. You're like, if you don't, and I'll quit. I'm out of here. No, I won't. Fine. Do you call yourself a salesman? Take it back. The crazy thing is he's a brain surgeon. That's right. That's a weird thing.
Well, Jake, I think you have yourself in a really incredible work environment now. Yeah, I kind of made everybody mad too. Yeah, by bringing them into it? Yeah, I brought Joe into it and Joe got all mad at me. Oh, Joe's always like that. He's a bit of a hot ass. That's who I am and you're nothing. You don't have to rub it in there. You don't have to rub it in. Well, good luck, Jake. I actually want to keep updated with you. I want to find out how this goes down. What is the boss going to think when he walks into work and sees him there today? Like, I thought you were quitting. What if he said that? He's suffering from pneumonia. Florida's Tim Tebow announces he will return for his senior season. Really? Oh, yeah. So he's not going to try out the NFL? Well, he probably wouldn't be drafted very high if he did. So he might as well get the most out of his college career. You know, I mean, if he can win three national championships, that would be pretty unprecedented. Oh, yeah. Yes. She's my favorite guest. Well, you guys are BFF. Yeah. She's my favorite guest. So...
Soulmates. Yes. We are interview soulmates. Hi, Mary Lynn. Is this my soulmate? Yes. It's your interview soulmate. Hey, first of all, congratulations. Congratulations on the baby. Can you believe that? That's pretty awesome. Can you believe what happened since the last time I talked to you? Yeah. You're, well, obviously, you're enjoying a healthy sex life. And you're having babies. You know, I talked about on stage, like, I've just always wanted to be hot. I mean, it's an exaggeration for comedy purposes, but it's kind of true. I've just always wanted to be the hot girl. And finally, I get invited to an event, and it's called Hot Moms. Wow. Look at that. Once you're a mom, it's like I already... I don't want to be a hot mom. Hey, I take it. Being hot is about being desired. And once you're pregnant, you're like... Okay, I'm done. Wait a second. First of all... Hey... I got everything you could get. Like, stay away from me. Get out of here. I've been desired the most you can be desired. Yes. So, Mary Lynn... From the hotness, you know? We heard that it was like something like 12 hours of labor or some crazy amount. Where did you hear that? Where did we hear it, Skye?
We heard that she was having a baby at the house. Can I tell you the truth? 24 hours of labor. You're just doing a promotion for the show. You're doing a promotion for Fox. You're just saying it was 24. Well, it could have been 23. It was from like started lightly at 10 a.m. Lightly. Hardcore labor by 6 p.m. Hardcore all night long. This contraction takes place between the hours. Yes. I was trying to have a home birth. Yeah, yeah. That's what we read. You were trying to do the home birth and finally you were like, I'm not doing this anymore. Yeah. And then I begged to be taken to the hospital. Yeah. Wow. My boyfriend was like, I'm so sorry. I didn't call it sooner. And I was like, we didn't know. You know, I knew at like midnight he wasn't coming out. Oh, my God. How much do you weigh? I weigh till, like, 8 or 9 in the morning. How much do you weigh? He was 9.5 pounds. Whoa. Hey, baby. Hey, baby. What happened? He was not coming through that pelvis. Oh, man, dude. His little head was bashing against my pelvis. Oh, man. And then you got to the hospital, and he still didn't come for another, like, 8 hours?
No, no, no, no. He came at like 10.02 a.m., I believe. Oh, wow. That's a lot of labor. That's pretty insane. That's pretty crazy. Okay, so we have a bunch of 24 questions. Yeah, we do. I could talk about my labor all day. Enough of your labor. So, Skye. Skye is the resident. Okay. Skye's the resident 24th. Yeah, it's funny, Mary Lynn. I didn't even know you were on the show this, you were going to be on the show today, and every morning we do a blog for our website, and I was blogging about your character, Chloe, and how I had a lot of anxiety last night watching the premiere because they say that CTU has been shut down, and Janine Garofalo is playing this character, and I believe she's trying to steal your... thunder and i want chloe back and i don't know what's going on i i know i know that's not an answer reading those scripts like are you kidding me but you know janine and i are friends in real life well i love janine she's like one of my faves but she ain't no chloe i'm not gonna lie okay well you know what she
She said it before I said it because I was trying to be polite, even though in my heart I was like, oh, my God, they're giving my part away. And we did comedy shows together, and she stood on stage, and she was like, yep, I'm the new Chloe O'Brien. Wow. That's hysterical. It is. And I'm so used to, I mean, when you do publicity for the show, you... You have a certain window. Usually people, you know, you're on a red carpet and people for 30 seconds are just excited about 24 and you're like, it's going to be great. And she just, she just, we just talked about it because she was on stage and it was so fun because I was like, oh, I never talk about it. And then I got on stage and was like, yeah, what's going on? Are you the new Chloe O'Brien? And we just, it was really fun. Wait a minute. It's okay. So I want to know about timing. When were they filming while you were pregnant or did they not? Because of the writer's strike, it's been really weird. We've been trying to get this season for 18, 20 months now. So when the season started, I wasn't pregnant. I got pregnant and had the baby before we were done shooting the whole season. So they just write it into the storyline? Well, at the end of last season, I was pregnant on the show. So it was already part of the storyline. And then I just mirrored it in my real life.
Well, because the script demanded it. The script demanded it. You're really dedicated. She's a method actor. Yes, you are. Dedicated to your part. And obviously, babies are not born in 24 hours, so you will remain pregnant through the entire 24-hour period. You know, think about that. I was pregnant at the end of last season. It's not like day to day. It's just one day. Isn't it the next day? No. What is it, like five years later? It could be. How many years later? three on the show and it's one it's our executive producers it's his real son really oh that's cool hey why weren't you in that redemption yeah hey why weren't you in africa what's up yeah what's up chloe i know this is the way she doesn't answer any questions she shares your enthusiasm but does not answer any questions i love it it's great she named in real life In real life, it says that you named your child Valentine Anthony. Guys, I know. I know, right, guys? What's up with that? Come on, what's with that name, guys? Yeah, you guys, what do you think? Oh, sorry, I'm not doing it. Why, Valentine? That's a family name. My boyfriend, that was his great-great-grandfather's name.
So what, did you lose a bet? It was his great-great-grandfather's name. I know, but maybe she had a name picked? People are jerks. Yeah, man. What's your son you're talking about? It's an old-fashioned gentleman's name. It's the name of a Roman emperor. That's right. Valentine. How old is the baby? If you divorce it from Valentine's Day. Yes. It's an awesome name. How old is Valentine? He's five months old. Do you guys... Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Do you call him Val? Yeah, we call him Big Val. Big Val. You should meet my son Halloween. There you go. Eddie! Okay. Don't be a jerk. We call him Hal. Don't, you don't. You don't have... That joke already on Leno. Oh. I stole it. He stole it. No, listen. That's how connected we are because... I made that exact joke because I knew he was going to make fun of the name. And so I was like, you want to hear his full name? Exactly what you just said. I said, it's Valentine, Christmas, Easter, Martin Luther King. Yes. Because you knew he was going there. So, hey, by the way, when 24 is on, do you guys at home, do you watch it? I've had...
premiere parties at my house before, and I'm kind of sad I didn't this year. My producer just shook his head. She doesn't watch it. You don't watch it? I didn't watch it last night. I went to a Golden Globes after party last night, but I have a TiVo. Oh, I'm such a celebrity. Oh, look at the name dropper that gets to go to all the big parties. And she's got a TiVo, too. Oh, wow. How was that? Who did you see there? Oh, is it glamorous? Who did you see? My favorite is when you're all dressed up. Hey, Mary Lynn. Mary Lynn. You can't use the word elbow on the radio. You can't say that bad word that you just said, okay? Be careful. Be careful. Who did I party? Paris Hilton. Did you really? Did you talk to her? No, she just walked by. And I said to my boyfriend, Matthew, I was like, that looks like Paris Hilton. And he said, it was. And there was a girl running.
Because she was walking really fast and there was a girl behind her carrying the train to her dress. Really? It was this weird thing of, I don't even, it's not like, wow, she's having fun at this party. Clearly she was just making an appearance because I thought, is this party cool enough for her? She's just making an appearance and then she goes. It was just odd because it's not about like, hey, we're here partying and having a good time. It was an appearance. Weird. Glamorous. That's funny. Glamorous. Mary Lynn Reiska plays Chloe O'Brien on the show 24. And Skye is nuts about that show, man. She's so crazy about it. So is Jack going to hook up with that red-headed chick? What's up? She didn't watch it. They get it on. They get it on. There's your answer, Skye. Yeah, do they have a baby in the name of Valentine? I love that. Her character, she's like a lady that's bringing him into the action. And we got a woman president. Yeah, good times right there. Sexy stuff this year. Yep. There you go. There you go. It's sexy times. Yeah, come on. All right. Well, listen, I love having you on. I wish you could be like a regular contributor.
We have Sean Merriman from the Chargers on every Monday, but now the season's over. We should have Mary Lynn Rice come every week. I love it. You know, I almost came to San Diego that one time. Yeah, yeah. She was going to come down when we did our 28-hour show, which you would have loved. We do this thing when we do our 28-hour show where we watch movies and make fun of them. I would still do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You should. We'll do it again. And it'd be fun. I think you'd like it, and you'd be good at it. I'll send you some bus fare. That's right. We'll give you a bus fare. Okay, I have an RV now. Oh, cool. Road trip. Yeah. All right, Mary Lynn, you're the best. And kiss a baby for all of us. Thank you, I will. All right, we'll talk to you later. Bye. Okay, bye. Big baby Val. Big Val. Big Val. He's crazy. She's nuts, man. I love her. She's so fun to talk to. I want to hang out. She's the most un-celebrity celebrity. I know it. I think ever, you know? Every time you talk to her, she's all about just having fun. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. The ride's staying pretty tough here on some of our freeways this morning. We've got slow traffic on the South 15, as always, from the 78 down to Villarancho Parkway. There's Coastal Ride South 5 staying quite heavy as well out of La Costa down into Solana Beach. The westbound 8 still seeing some slow traffic in the Cajon Valley right around Greenfield Drive. A little bit tougher, though, from Spring Street out to Lake Murray, and then you've got to slow ride again from the 805 and past the Q to Mission Center Road now. And both the 5 and the 805 northbound out of the South Bay, still plenty of traffic here, especially this 5 freeway. That is backed up big time for a struggle out of Chihuahua Vista all the way up to a bad accident in 28th Street getting into downtown, and a traffic alert has been issued advising you to avoid that stretch if you possibly can. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105. He goes rock. One of like eight people that owned this Bad Company album. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
Early 90s. Early 90s. Welcome back. It is 8-11. Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner again last night, winning four Golden Globe Awards, including Best Drama. The Colts Tony Dungy should make a decision today on whether or not he will return as head coach. Before we went to break, I was telling you, I was going to tell you what the deal is with gas prices in San Diego County. Are they going up? Are they going down? And who knows? Skye, is it even San Diego County, or is this nationally, or where is it? Well, nationally, but definitely Southern California is being affected, too. They say the U.S. average price for gas went up 12 cents in the past three weeks. But here in San Diego County, over the last month, it's gone up 27 cents. I think last week I filled up on Wednesday for like $1.75, and then by Friday it was $2 a gallon. Really? Yeah.
Like literally over two days, it went up like a quarter. It's jumping quickly. Yeah, which is upsetting. I don't care for this kind of behavior. I don't either. Why? I don't like this behavior. Yeah, an expert says the reason for the spike in the price is because of production cuts by the OPEC members. Because they want to drive up the price of oil because people use less gas in January, I guess. Like, historically, the figures show people use less gasoline in January. So they need to make their money, Mike. They need to feed their babies. Must be the election, right? Oh, don't. I don't think there's an election right now. Oh, shoot. But this is because of Wall Street. Okay. I got you. Rob has all these different thoughts on why he thinks his gas prices go up or down. I heard it was Golden Globes. Really? That's what I heard. You can be a jerk about it. You know how all of them, they use limos to go there? Yeah, I might talk about it. Bigger gas tanks, so it costs a lot of money to fill them, and they know there's a demand. There's money to be made. There's money to be made, so they raise the gas prices hoping limo drivers foolishly go fill up their limos. Oh, wow. Smart. It's really smart when you think about it.
Smart. Now what? He's smart. Now you go. Yep. What do you think? I'm not. I'm just giving you my thoughts. I haven't scientifically studied this yet. You have not. That's weird for you. I've been thinking about it. He has not. Well, because all of a sudden... He has not. It has jumped 20... Well, I've seen 20 cents by my house. Yeah. And it's every gas station, you know, even the cheap one that I was using. So there's something to it. I don't think it's... Where's the Wall Street question? That's what I was trying to figure out, actually. It's because the Perrier stock has gone through the roof. It's Perrier. Eddie. What's that, Mike? Why does he drink Perrier every day? Oh, well, he's a gentleman. Is that what it is? Eddie gets it. Eddie gets it. Continue on. You were heading down the right road. It really is. Perrier in 09. Yeah. What is that? Dude, I don't know, but Rob comes in, not with a small thing of Perrier. He comes in with the giant. Tall bottles of Perrier. It's cheaper to buy the big ones. And he's got two bottles. I'm about to run out on my lemon one. These are the things that he likes. He likes the taste of cough syrup and Perrier. NyQuil, to be specific. Oh yeah, you like the taste of NyQuil. That's awesome. I also like that friendly buzz it gives me. Rob, why Perrier? What's going on? I don't drink soda anymore.
coffee. So I drink Perrier and tea. Stop. Why does he do that? It doesn't make you cool. It's Perrier. Yes, Mike. I'm glad you brought this up. I have switched to Perrier this quarter because I am trying to help Wall Street. Yes, and of course the Earl Grey's. Yes, I drink the Earl Grey's at noon. It's actually oolong. Yes, I have oolong. At noon, each day is tea time. And every once in a while, I'll enjoy a spritzer of Perrier. It's good, man. And a cranberry for my bladder infection. It's carbonated, it's water. Carbonated. Isn't it expensive? Nah, it was $1.50 for this thing. Not when you rub it. Holy cow. Yeah. That's expensive, bro. That's really expensive. For water, isn't it? Yeah, for water. Yeah, but it's bubbly water. How much? $1.50. You can get two liters of soda for like 99 cents, bro. Dude, you got $3 of Alka-Seltzer sitting there right now. So good. Tastes like Alka-Seltzer, right? So you quit soda, but not cigarettes. Yeah. You're a smart man.
His plan was to quit smoking for the new year. But when the new year came, he decided. I'm doing Chinese New Year. He decided he wasn't ready yet. And so he's waiting for the time to be right. He's so judgmental about people who drink soda and eat fast food. And oh, it's so bad for you. As he's puffing his black lung over there. Have you cut down? Have you cut down? Or are you still smoking the same? No. Only two packs down, Mike. What do you smoke nowadays? Just about a pack. Yeah. That's down? Yeah. You smoke a pack and a half? Yeah, yeah. So I'm trying to do that. When will you know it's time? I'm mentally, I'm seriously mentally trying to prepare. Yeah. Because I was thinking about yesterday, I wasn't going to go out and get any more cigarettes. I was going to go, you know, tomorrow morning, just going to put on. one of these stupid patches, wherever you're supposed to put it. That's it. But mentally, I was like, nah, I don't want to. Have you tried the patch yet? When I was like 16, my dad quit. No, I mean this go around. Have you started with it yet? No, no, no. I did the gum the last time, like a year ago when I quit. So you haven't tried anything yet? Uh-uh. Just scaling back. Just cutting back a little bit. I figure once I scale back enough. Have you set a date that you'll start? No.
No. I was figuring I got to go to one of those websites to help you quit. And that, I think, like helps you set up like, you know, there's got to be a date. There's got to do this. There's like things into quitting because it's mostly the mental. In the meantime, elegant bubbly. In the meantime, the elegant Perrier. Try it. Try it. Replace soda with this. I mean, it can't be bad for you. It tickles my taste buds, Mike. You know what I like is I like when the bubbles dance in my mouth. I do. I love it. I pretend I'm drinking champagne. Yes. Champagne. Champagne. He really is. Okay, so we told you that in the city of Torrance, 500 people got into a brawl. Rob, where were you this weekend? Hanging out in Torrance. Sky, where did this happen? Now let's all stay calm. Oh, no. But it happened in Torrance at the mall. The mall. The mall. The mall. Okay. Yes, it happened at the mall. What happened? Well, they don't still, as of, you know, this morning when I was reading. Fields ran out. Yeah.
Well, it happened outside the movie theater in the mall. For those of you that are new listeners, you're hearing some words that are sort of sky. And you complete the trifecta and just say there was a ham there. Everybody throw your hats at Rob. You just got a hat trick. I go to the theater at about 9 o'clock at night. This guy can't say theater. She likes ham and chops it. Thumb all. Thumb all. Thumb all. It was about 9 o'clock Saturday night where this fight just broke out and started escalating until it was up to about 500 people. A total of 100 police officers ended up having to be called in. Gangs, right? How many guys? From like six different, you know, police from different, six different cities, the police officers had to be brought. Gangs. It doesn't say. I bet it is. They're still trying to sort out exactly what happened. A cop actually ended up getting punched in the face. Oh, wow. Seven people were arrested and booked on charges. Can you just get spit right out of them? You're pitted, dude. You're getting pitted. So pitted. Booked on charges from assaulting an officer to resisting arrest. So they're still trying to sort it all out. But 500 people in a brawl in the middle. There was 500 people in Torrance. Yeah, no kidding. That is crazy. No kidding.
Then the other thing that I told you that we were going to tell you about was this Prince Harry thing. So, yeah, Prince Harry apparently made some racist comments. Oh, boy. And... Now, was Prince Harry the one that dressed up like a Nazi guy for Halloween? Yes. Whoa! Yeah, he's the politically correct one. It's very controversial. Cut 54. Anybody else around here? A little packy friend? Apparently, Paki is a derogatory term in England. Is that right, Skye? Yeah, these comments were made back in 2002. You know, he's a lieutenant in the army there, and they were doing some training exercises, and it was being taped, and he made that comment as well as another derogatory term. Yeah, and I think we have that one too, right? Cut 55.
So he said raghead. We know that one's bad. We know that word. And so, like, what is this stuff? He took this video himself. Is that the deal? Well, they say it was during a training exercise with other military cadets back in 2006. And I guess they were videotaping it because it was a training exercise. And they start talking and he starts using these derogatory remarks for people of Pakistani origin. And, yeah, definitely not classy, not smart, really bad. We got a British guy on the phone that can explain. Oh, really? Yeah, because I don't even pack it. Yeah, I've never heard of it. That's a liquor store. Oh, that's right. Are you guys there? Yeah. Oh, yes. Hello. Hello. If I can explain. Please do. Help us out here. British guy. Well, you see, when you live in England, there's certain words that we use that are different.
from what you're used to there. Right. And you just haven't heard them all. Yeah, we've heard some in the past, but I mean, are there other ones that we should know about? Well, there's like Snyzer Doodle, right? I'm sorry, what was that one? It means you've got, your face looks like a rump and it's about to pass wind through the eyes. Okay, wait. That's somebody who called him a Snyzer Doodle. Why would you ever even call somebody that? That's weird. Eddie, have you ever heard of a Pazzy Pazwisler? A Pazzy Pazwisler? No. That means you've been handcuffed by Boy George does. I don't think that's... It's a fuzzy hug with you. I'm having a hard time. Have you ever heard of a bag of barn begona? What? Are these words you're making up? No, this is an actual term. So you could call somebody a what? A bag of barn begona. That means you smoke thugs and dress like James Dean. Okay, hold on. Fags is cigarettes over in England. That's what I said. Well, yeah, but we don't call them that. You don't call them the fags? No. You buy a pack of fags at the store? No, no, no. We don't do that. A whole different meaning over here. Ran into a bloke the other day. He was a rump bongler. A rump bongler? A rump bongler. A rump bongler? That's right, Eddie. He was a rump bongler. What's that?
It means you prefer the chip over the fish, if you know what I mean. Okay. I don't know what you mean. You like the chips more than you like the fish. Okay. You know what I mean? No, no, we don't. Okay, British guy. I believe they say the no one ate over there, don't they? Okay, British guy. You need to take it easy. How about a Monzy Ponzy Mercy Donk? Have you ever heard that term? I mean, these sound like Harry Potter words. The Monzy Ponzy Murphy Donk. No, no, no. Is that British guy? The Monzy Ponzy Murphy Donk. What's that? It means that you thought Beverly Hills Cop 3 was the best of the series. That doesn't even make sense. That's what it means. There's no need for that. No one would ever think that, first of all. So dumb. So there's no need for that word. Any of you ever heard? There's another one, huh? No, I've never heard that. What is that? That's what it means. That's right, like Clive Owen. And you prance about the hair's dressed.
And then you listen to the Oasis song. Very strange. I don't know why you would need a word like that. My neighbor's a bonnie bedadler. A bonnie bedadler. I've never heard of that. It means you're stupid. That's very funny. It's not as colorful as bonnie bedadler. You're a rump bongler. You don't need to call us those things. Thank you, British guy. Talk to you later. Bye. Wow, well, these are all cleared up now. I am glad that Harry didn't say any of those, right? Well, he'd be in big trouble. Prince Harry didn't go there. That would have been a bad thing. Easy talk. Let's see. Today, they say that Coach Dungy from the Colts is going to make a decision, right, Eddie? Yeah, I mean, all the signs had pointed that this was going to be his last season as head coach of the Colts, but I don't know.
I mean, he says he's going to decide today, and we should know by tomorrow at least if he's going to be the head coach or not. They have a guy in place ready to go that will be the head coach there when Tony Dungy steps down. Who will it be? Jim Caldwell, I think his name is. Caldwell? Yeah. Yeah, he's the assistant head coach there, so he will be promoted as soon as Dungy's ready to step down. All right, so I have an apology. Barack Obama does not get asked tough questions or hard-hitting questions by the press that's in love with him from the left. And when I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Oh, here we go. At 47. What kind of a dog are we getting and when are we getting it? They seem to have narrowed it down to a labradoodle. What about Chechnya? Can you talk to me about Chechnya? Medium-sized. Medium-sized dog. And so we're now going to start looking at shelters to see when one of those dogs might come up. So you are closing in on it? We're closing in on it. This has been tougher than finding a commerce secretary. Brutal. There it is.
Because that's the only question any journalist has asked him in the last week, right? That's the kind of questions he gets, Scott. Yeah, I'm sure. That's the kind of stuff he gets. What is your favorite color, President-elect Obama? That Illinois governor, Bogoyevich, is really on one. Oh, yeah. That dude is not going down without a fight. He's kind of crazy. Get out of here. Kind of crazy, right? Yeah. To pay? No. To pay? Just ridiculous. Just ridiculous? Out of control. Like, I want that dude holding a plate with a giant burger on it. Absolutely. And little suspenders, like toddler Oshkosh suspenders. You just put big boy, you know? And then you get your burger, and there's hair in it. Dude. Seriously. Well, he's not going easily, and he says that he's innocent. Cut 51. I am not guilty of any criminal wrongdoing. That issue will be dealt with on a separate course in an appropriate forum of federal court. And I'm confident that at the end of the day, I will be properly exonerated. In the meantime, I have a job to do for the people. They hired me to not just say that I'm for things that could help them, but they hired me to fight for them. And I'm going to fight for them every step of the way.
He also says that it's the House's fault, that all this is happening because he didn't do anything. The House has it in for him. Cut 50. The House's action today was, of course, not a surprise. It was a foregone conclusion. In fact, what the House did today, they've been talking about doing for the last couple of years. In fact, the first discussion of doing what they did today, they started talking about back in the summer of 2007. I've been engaged in a struggle with the House to try to get things done for people. I've worked very hard and continue to keep pushing and prodding the House to pass a capital construction program, a public works program, a jobs program, one that would create anywhere from 500,000 to 750,000 jobs. The House has stood in the way of letting that happen. So the House's action today and the causes of the impeachment are because I've done things.
to fight for families who are with me here today. Oh, well, then you're a hero. Then you're an angel. Why are we even doing this? Five breaking news. What do you got, Eddie? What do you have? Just as I just reported about Tony Dungy, this coming in from FoxSports.com, saying that Dungy will step down as head coach of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Colts, and they're going to have a news conference today at 5 p.m. Indianapolis time. So I'm guessing that's like three hard times. So he's going to be gone. Before the San Diego game, you saw him, he was getting interviewed by Al Michaels and he was talking to him about, you know, whether he'd step down or not. And he says, you know, stuff about like take a week after the season, take a week, think about it, blah, blah, blah. And he said, Al Michaels said, well, what would you do if you weren't coach? And he said, I would definitely, you know, I've thought about spending more time with my kids and really giving them quality time. And he said that there's a lot of crime and a lot of dropouts in Indianapolis. And he thinks that he can help, that he can get in there and talk to these kids and really make an impact on them. And Al Michaels, which I thought was kind of heads up, Al Michaels goes, wow, after saying all that, it seems like you're kind of, you know,
showing your hand here a little bit you know and i was thinking and al didn't say this but i was thinking to myself boy it'd kind of be hard to go back to coaching after saying that yeah i mean because then you're essentially saying hey listen i think that my family and these kids are an issue but football's more important one more ring yeah yeah yeah and so uh you know so he's decided he's gonna i guess he's gonna do that stuff he's gonna go take care of that stuff yeah he's a pretty amazing guy You know, he's got a real strong belief in God and, you know, that he believes that, you know, he really can help people and things like that. His book is supposed to be really good. I have it. And I haven't read it. Have you read it? I haven't read it, but I've read excerpts from it. And a couple of people I know that read it said it's a really great book. You know, it's one of those books that keeps kind of there. I have a lot of books that I haven't read that are sitting in my bookshelf that I'll see. And every once in a while, there's a book that just seems to be calling out to me. And I haven't, you know, I just haven't gone there for one reason or another. And that's one of them I want to read. His book. Yeah. Text messages. 35253. Bottom line, Mikey, concerning gas prices. The oil companies keep reporting record profits. That's P1 Jane. That's true. They do. Uh-oh, Rob. Look what you're having an effect on.
P1 Black Label says, Rob, I'll quit smoking when you do. Okay. The pressure is on. You could save a life. That's right, Rob. I do. Wait. I don't know. I'm not really sure. How's that, Rob? Yep. All right. Okay. I like it. Let's see. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. I put this song in. This is a song from my childhood. It does sound like that, doesn't it? What is this? I don't know the name of the band, but the song's called The Mighty Quinn. It was when I was a kid. I remember this. I like this song. You've heard it before, Ash? Yeah. There you go. 570-1053 is the number. Our text number is 35253. And speaking of Rob, when we come back, he's done another song, and we'll hear the song when we come back. Yes!
Ty sent it this week and said my song was awesome. Really? Yeah. I know who's playing the inaugural gala concert for the president. For the president, right, Skye? I don't know if he's going to attend or not, but it's in D.C., the night for inauguration. Finally, an inaugural gala with music I might actually like. Awesome. Is it this band? Is it what? Is it this band? Yeah. It is not this band. I'll tell you. I'm going to give you three bands. They're good bands. Well, I guess that's a matter of opinion. I'll tell you after this. Uh, Mikey? Hello? Never called in before, but I love your show, and you guys rock. Oh, that's awesome. Are you credit challenged? Having a tough time purchasing anything? There's something about his voice and my ears that go good together. I consider Lindsey Buckingham a musical genius. Oh, wow. A musical genius. Incredible guitar player. Incredible guitar player. Great songwriter. Yeah. Did I ever tell you about that video that I have? There's this series where they take a rock band. and they take an album by the rock band, and it's like a VH1 special, and they show you the making of that album. Have I ever told you about the one on Fleetwood Mac, Rumors? Yeah, I do remember that. It's so cool, man, and they're in the studio, and they're talking about how crazy it was how they harmonized together, and they didn't know each other. Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were doing the band together, and they were terrible, didn't sell any albums.
So they met Mick Fleetwood, got together, and realized, whoa, our voices are trippy cool together. And so they're in the studio, and they have it cranked, man. They're cranking the Rumors album on the making of, and they turn off all the music, and they just let you hear what the voices sound like together, and you get chills, man. Like the hair on your arm stands up. Just what a trip it sounds like all together. It's 841. Clint Eastwood's new movie, Gran Torino, was number one at the box office this weekend, making $29 million. I'm not sure if you've heard it or not, but the Chargers, they had a rough day yesterday. And they lost to Pittsburgh, ending the season 35-24. Phillip Rivers talks about the loss. As weird as this year was, we've got a lot we can grow on from it. This makes you stronger as a person and a player when you have years like this. You're kind of still numb right now that the season's over. It doesn't really hit you yet that it comes to a brutal end. You never expect it. Neither team on neither side walked in today expecting this to be the last game of the year. That's why playoff football is so great, and that's why it's so tough when it does come to an end. You sound like a KSON DJ. Well, well said. Yeah, well. Hey, you guys, there's always next year. I've heard that. But I want it to be this year.
But then, Eddie, but then you wouldn't have anything to look forward to. Yeah, we'd defend our title. Yeah, that's cool. Let's talk about something else. Oh, yeah. You want to know who's going to play Obama's inaugural gala concert? Gallagher. No, hello. Who will it be, Sky? Naughty by Nature. It is not Naughty by Nature. It is not. N.W.A. Sir Mix-a-Lot. It is Sir Mix-a-Lot and N.W.A. Snow. Yes. Snow. Snow is playing. No. Color me bad. No. Belvedo. Now you know. Is it Belvedo? Is it Belvedo? Come on. Is it Lisa Lisa and Colt Jam? Oh. The Jets. The Jets. The Jets. The Jets.
The Jets. Oh, I got it. Pretty Poison. Oh, dude. That'd be great. The Cover Girls. Oh. That'd be great. The Cover Girls are playing? Skye just said the Cover Girls are playing. I did not say that. Digital Underground. Sweet. Diva. Put those glasses on Barack. Who is it? He's going to do the Humpty Dance. It was a big clock. It was a big clock. Well, there's three different bands playing. Do you smell what Barack is cooking? Three artists, I should say. We have Citizen Cope. I like them. I like Citizen Cope. Yeah. Never heard of them. You have to. You have to. You know that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where's the song? The song's gonna rise. I love this song. The song's gonna rise. Oh, that's Citizen Cope? That Maroon 5 cover band? Okay. Come on. This is dead off. Yeah, you got it wrong. This is a good song. Whatever. Also playing?
will be Sheryl Crow. Sick. I love Sheryl Crow. I do, too. Yeah, she's so good. My wife hates her. Oh, no. You should have picked me on Applebee's. Yeah. And then, finally, we have the Beastie Boys. Oh, wow. Watch it. Watch it. Watch it. Watch it. Citizen Cope. Yeah. Sheryl Crow. Sounds good to me. Yeah, and they've named... I hope it's on TV. Do they put that on TV? I don't know. The proceeds are going to go to Rock the Vote, and they name it... these names in your concert. I don't know. I don't know, Mike. What do you want? Nor do I care. Yes. Mike, don't know, don't care. Next question. Ask somebody who cares, Mike. Why don't you take a quarter? Yes. And call yourself and I think I don't care. They've named the concert, Hey, America Feels Kind of Cool Again. Oh, wow. That's really stupid. Rolled right at the tongue. You look great on a t-shirt. Much of idiots. Wow. Gonna look really great on a t-shirt. So catchy. Okay, well, you guys are jerks. So, B-Rob wrote a song about Brett Favre retiring. I don't know why. What? Because he needs to.
Is that the deal? Yeah, dude. Why does it bother you? Because how many times can we deal with him holding a press conference and crying? That happened one time. Yeah, a guy cries at one press conference. Blubbers one time. Yeah, a guy blubbers on national television. One time. Wicked gay. Number four's a number two. Time for him to go. Please go be with Jimmy Hoffa. Not to mention he gave up a wicked lot of dough. Posing your eggs. He's angry at him for a salt and pepper beer. Not even in the same ballpark. You're right. Ted Danson is an adonis. No. Manly. Rob just said Ted Danson is an adonis. You are queer. You ever seen Cheers?
I think you like the chip, not the fish. That's so true. This text says, Mikey, my boyfriend got mad at me this morning because I listened to Mikey in the morning more than I listened to him. That's P1 Miss. Mikey, the British dude. Man, the chip over the fish. You know what I mean. You guys crack me up. Keep rocking. That's P1000. Awesome. Mikey, I'm from England and a pack is like calling an American a Yankee. By the way, good call on wearing knickers while listening to Oasis. That's P1 English. Being called a Yankee isn't that offensive. Unless you're a Red Sox fan. I don't think it's offensive to Americans, but I think in their eyes they're really offending us by calling us that. We don't really care. It doesn't matter. We won the war. Which one? The Revolutionary. There you go. As you can imagine, lottery sales are up. Oh, absolutely, dude. I have a lot to do with that. I have a lot to do with that.
He goes in, gets his Perrier and six lotto tickets. I'll take a Perrier and a Quick Pick, please. And there goes my paycheck. That's right. Yeah, they say lotto sales have gone up over the last six months. They see higher sales of the Scratcher tickets and the Daily Game tickets. How does the Daily Game work, Rob? It's weird. My Gabe likes to play this. I don't know why. You get, I think, to pick three numbers. Yeah. And then, you know, they have a drawing once at like around noon and another one at like five or six. And is it like, what is it, like $100 or something? What do you win? It's got to be a couple thousand, but I've never played it, but I've seen. Is it still a dollar? Yeah, it's a buck. And how many, like from one to what? What numbers are you picking from one to one? One through nine. Yeah, yeah. And you get to pick three of them. Well, they can repeat the numbers, so it can be like six, six, four. Oh. Yeah. That seems very difficult. But there's two drawing a day. Yeah, they say this happens when the economy gets hard because people see, oh, I could spend $1 and gain so much. Like that dude from PB. Yeah, 40 mil.
45 mil? Me and my other brother Al were watching that press conference. It was on again yesterday. Yeah, and you know what was so weird about that press conference was when he was asked if, you know, because he's talking and talking about all, like, pretty much anything they ask him, he has an answer to. And when he's asked if he has, like, a lady in his life, oh, I'd rather not comment. Oh, I didn't see that. Let the romance begin. It's tough for me to watch. I can only watch it in parts, but I don't know. Somebody give me a guess on why you would say. I'd rather not comment on that. Now he's a millionaire. Is that any worse than getting up there? You know what I mean? Maybe he doesn't want people bothering her. Maybe he prefers the chip to the fish. Maybe he's a bit of a chip out of the fish. You know what I mean? You know how you're gay? Could be. Could be. You said that wrong? Is that a text? Yes. Don't wave at me. Jerk. Guess who got raises? Not the guy from where he wore it. Yeah, that guy did not. The cast of the show, How I Met Your Mother. They all got raises. Finally.
Which I've decided I'm going to start watching. I decided last week I'm going to start watching. People have been telling me forever that show is hilarious and I watched it for the first time the other day and I set my TiVo. Really? And you liked it? So face on your faces. Yeah, it's funny. They say that the Neil Patrick Harris NPH and his co-stars will now be getting between 90 and 120,000 per episode. No, per episode, Eddie. Not per year, per episode. That's not enough. Okay. Hey, Ashley, didn't you watch Two and a Half Men for the first time? Yeah, last night. Did you like it? I did, actually. Oh, gosh. Here we go. You know that Charlie Sheen's not too shabby on the old screen? Oh, really? It's pretty good. You think he's good looking? No, no. It's not my type. But I think that he's like a cute, or he's like a funny actor. Like he like plays his character. You like the character. Yeah, it's funny. I actually enjoyed it. And I don't really like sitcoms, so. So, uh, Eddie's giving me the break sign, but I want to talk about this so bad. About what happened to Eddie. Oh? Dude. The Pample Pomp? The what? The Pample Pomp.
Wait, what? That is your last name. That's your new nickname. Is that your last name? Eddie Pamplepomp. I thought it was Papani. No, it's Eddie Pamplepomp. Eddie Pamplepomp. Eddie Pamplepomp. But she's saying Pamplepomp? Yeah. That's not what even makes sense. Back in first grade. I know she punched you in the face earlier, too, by the way. I want to remind you. Yeah, I know. Well, it's not just Pamplepomp. It's the Pamplepomp. The Pamplepomp. Yeah. The Pamplepomp. Hey. Should we save it till we come back? It looks like Eddie has indigestion. That, like, really got Eddie. When we get back... No. What's a P1? P1 is someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to The Mikey Show exclusively. That is correct. Home of the P1 Army. The Mikey Show.

I am extraordinarily sensitive to Keith. Eddie. I'm a married man. Sky. Sky. There's a lot of
Sean. I routinely forget to zip up my fly. Boston Rob. I'm a go-getter. And Ashley. I don't watch the... It's 9-0-1. Fergie and actor Josh Duhamel got married in Malibu on Saturday. Just when it looked like it would go away, a second witness has come forward saying they saw Marvin Harrison with the gun involved in that shooting. He's not good. Yeah. That's not good. This is on the heels of the DA saying we're not going to prosecute. No, that's really not good. Mikey, thank you for adding the word rump bungler to my vocabulary. Mikey, I heard the Boo Donkeys are the special guest performers at the inauguration. Oh, finally. I know they really wanted that. They did. They did. That's P1. What's hampooning? Eddie?
Tell this dreadful story. Well, it was not that big of a deal, Mike. What? I'm sure you would have handled it fine. So I go out last night. I would have handled it by having a nervous breakdown. You would have died. Dude. It was pretty crazy. When I read it, I made a noise. I was like, when I read it, it goes hard. So I go out last night and I'm going to turn on my barbecue. I haven't used my barbecue in probably like three weeks because of the weather. So I take the barbecue cover off, and it's pretty dark outside, so I don't really see anything. Reach it underneath below, and I turn the propane on, lift the lid up, light it, and as soon as I light it, a mouse jumps out and scurries right over my feet. Little hillside by my house. I don't know. He could have been singed a little. But my immediate thought was, wow, what if Mike... He would have probably passed out. Thetal position. He would have thrown that girl away.
Like, you could never use that grill again. Yeah, I really considered still cooking, and I'm like, I should probably clean this pretty good then. What? And I turned it off. How are you going to clean it? It'll burn off. Yeah, dude. What are you talking about, you babies? Eat. It's there forever. What is? It's memory. It's memory. It's soul. I felt a little weird with my wife being pregnant. Cooking on a grill where mice have been. It just didn't seem like a safe thing to do. Doing their business on it. I'll give it a good cleaning. Give it a once over and it'll be fine. More than a once over. I'm going to have a barbecue next weekend. No, you're not. Special appetizer on the menu. It's BYO BBQ. By the way, Sky made the shepherd's pie recipe that Eddie put up on his blog. That's crazy. And I'm next. I'm making it. It's so good. Oh, I bet that sounds like fun. Oh, it was. Sky also watched the movie Burn After Reading. That's that movie with Brad Pitt.
It's the Coen Brothers movie. Malcolm Brothers. Yeah, Malkovich is in it. Is it good? Worst movie I've ever seen. No. Oh, wow. Exaggeration. This is the person who watches The Wedding Planner nine times. Oh, that's such a good movie. Her favorite film is Girls Just Want to Have Fun. Yeah. At multiple points, the boo and I looked at each other and I'm like, I mean, should we continue this farce? Yes, please. It was so bad. What was the matter with it? It was so bad. Why? Like, who cares? Oh, no. It's not a comedy. Nothing about it is funny. This is a theme of Skies. Like, you'll hear this from her. Now I'm going to get it. Nothing about it is funny. Oh, we're all so smart. Oh, we're all sexaholics. Oh, we're all so grown up and grown up problems. Oh, yeah. Who cares? Like, where's the weed, man? The weed wouldn't have even helped that movie. Please. I watched Pineapple Express this weekend and was kind of laughing at Sky's description of how it was too violent. It was. The violence is like cartoon violence. Oh, Sky. It's like feet getting shot off and guys getting shot and still being able to walk around and be fine. It wasn't violent.
Sky has a different sensitivity. I don't care for any kind of violence. I don't care if it's Sin City violence, Pineapple Express violence, 300 violence. Yeah, is that okay? Poking in the eyes and stuff. Yeah, I watched Wanted, too, this weekend. Unnecessary violence. Oh, that was a good movie. Is that Angelina Jolie? Yeah. Is that any good? It's pretty good. I mean, it's kind of like... Mike, it was awesome. You like the worst, though. It's very comic book-y where you're not going into it believing you're watching reality. You know what I mean? It's kind of good. Sean, Sean, you get that. You know how Mike is. He doesn't like that kind of stuff. Yeah, bullets can fly in a circle. Oh, come on. They didn't fly in a circle. Yeah, obviously you didn't watch them. They just arced them a little bit. I mean, if you think about it, like if you have a gun and you're moving your arm while the bullet's coming out, you might put some spin on it. You might arc it in a circle. Not a circle. The end scene. Come on, please. Let's see.
You never know. So last night, Bruce Springsteen won an award for the song that he wrote for that movie, The Wrestler. Yeah. Oh. Which, by the way, the preview for the movie makes the movie look incredible. I can't wait to see that movie. It looks really, really good. And they play the song in the trailer. And it kind of lends itself. He said in his acceptance speech that Mickey Rourke actually called him. and said, hey, man, this is what this movie's about. Can you write a song about it? Yeah, I think we have the clip of what he said. Let's see. It is cut. Oh, I had it. Now I don't know where it is. Sean, do you know what clip that is? Number two. Is it two? Yep. This is the only time I'm going to be in a competition with Clint Eastwood. I know that's true. He asked me for some music. He told me a little bit about the character. He said some people invest themselves in their pain, and they turn away from love and the things that strengthen and nurture their lives. He said this was a guy that hadn't figured that out. So I said, well, I know a couple of those guys, and so the song. So first and foremost, I'd like to thank Mickey. Without the call, I wouldn't have written the song without his inspiration. Thank you, brother, for your beautiful performance. Thank you. Thanks for thinking on me.
I'd like to thank Darren and all the folks involved with the film for letting me be a small part of their picture. Thank you. Love to my strong and lovely wife, Patty. And hello to Evan, Jess, and Sam at home. Happy birthday, big man Clarence Clements. It looks really good. Yeah, I saw it yesterday. It's real good. It is? Yeah. You love it, dude. I bet, man. It looks real good. And I like Mickey Rook. I think he's a super good actor, man. He's crazy, though. Dude, without a doubt. He is. He's crazy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You should have seen him last night. His outfit and how he looked. What was he wearing? He was just wearing, like, this goofy-looking, like, suit. Was he wearing the weird glasses? Like, he wears these strange, round glasses. Yeah, he had the weird facial hair going. Like, the matty, goofy hair. Lots of oil. Like, I haven't washed my hair in a year. Cut 36.
I think after about 10 years, I didn't think it was going to happen again. And I just kept trying to change and work hard and work hard and, you know, slip back into my own ways. And so I appreciate it a lot because it's a profession where, you know, if you work hard enough. Because it's unpredictable, right? Yeah. Many years go by, you can get a second chance. He won the Golden Globe last night for best actor in a drama. Wow. And they usually say, right, Golden Globes. are kind of a good indication. The precursor to the Oscars, for sure. You know, I read this huge article on him, and what a, just a crazy life this guy's led. Like, he, you know, when he first hit the Hollywood scene, everybody was saying, like, he's the next Brando. And then, you know, they also were saying that, you know, he was like this sex symbol. And he hated that. Like, he only wanted to be known for his acting. And so he quit to become a boxer. So that his face would get mangled a little bit. Are you serious? So that he wouldn't be known for good looks anymore and be known for his acting. That is just crazy, man. Which, of course, led to drugs and other things that kind of ruined his career. And then he just started making this comeback. What a trip. Yeah, it's a wild story. So, yeah, that was last night with the Golden Globes. He won Best Actor, like Sky said. And it was funny.
I guess Rob went to Guitar Center this weekend with his brothers, and they practiced on turntables for an hour inside Guitar Center. They got this whole setup. Dude, I don't know if you've seen some of the technology, which I love. They got stuff where you can plug in your iPods to these faux turntable kind of things. You know what I mean? And it just looks like a little CD that you can scratch on. I think they got that for the Wii. Nice. Oh, look at Rob. He's looking at it. He's so irritated. I'm talking serious musicianship here, dude. That's so stupid. Why is your thing cool and that's stupid? It sounds like the same thing. No, it's not. One is scratching and one is playing around. It's not like you're a, you know, a little video game. I'm sorry. Come on. I don't understand the iPod thing. You plug the iPod in and what? So you can use... You know how Scratch and Sniff, you know, on Saturday nights, they'll... On Rock 105, we have a show called Scratch and Sniff on this radio station on Saturday nights where they mash songs together. Yeah, so they'll take rock and hip hop. So you can basically kind of do your own mashups, you know? You could take your iPod and, you know, record one track into, you know, one side. So that would be side A, you know, and then take another song and load it into side B. So you could technically mix them together.
Does it take long for it to, like, put the songs in there? I'm not sure. Like, I was just messing around with what they had. You know, like, they had this, like, techno beat. Were you mixing like a DJ? No, they only had one song going, so only, like, the left side was playing music. So you were basically listening to a song. Yeah. Okay. Great show, everybody. Great show. You can't smell it on my breath. It doesn't make me stumble around or pass out. It doesn't mess up my ability to drive. I don't wake up with a headache the next morning, but it gives me a tremendous buzz. I'm talking about gambling. I can't bet like most people. When I gambled and lost, I kept gambling. I loved the action and I thought I could win it all back. Nobody could tell I had a problem. I wouldn't believe it. For a while, it was easy to hide. In the end, I lost more than money.
I lost myself. I lied. I lost my job. I hurt everyone who cared about me. If the funds become something that's hurting you or your family, get help. Call 1-800-GAMBLER. That's 1-800-GAMBLER. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We've got a bad accident on the North 805 here before Plaza Boulevard in the South Bay. That's blocking all but the slow lane. And that's got you backed up just big time out of Chula Vista up to the accident scene. And that's affecting both sides of the 54 trying to get on that 805 northbound. That's slow traffic as well. That's still going to find some slow traffic also on the 5 freeway northbound out of Chula Vista up in the National City. That's left over stuff from an earlier accident, which is almost now clear near 28th Street. Other than that, the rest of the freeways are up to speed looking pretty good. The border waits still up to an hour and a half at San Isidro. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105 for 8. It was also quoted as saying,
San Diego's Rock. Hi. You have somebody coming over for dinner tonight. You must cook. What are you making? You must cook. I will make my homemade mac and cheese, which, not the box. Put it in a casserole dish. What kind of cheese? I mix mozzarella and cheddar. Mozzarella. Mozzarella. You get it. That's amazing. Mikey's show continues. Rock 105.3. Rob is playing this right now from his iPod. Whoa. He's DJing? Yes. Left side. This is all coming from the left side. The left turntable? Yep. No, because then I'd be able to scratch with it. Okay. It's sick, dude. Yeah, yeah. Buy it for me and I'll show you how to use it. Buy it for me. Yeah.
I would do that if I was convinced that you knew how to use it. But since you can't explain to me what it does, I'm confused as to what it does. Do you know what turntables do? Yeah. What do they do? You have one song on one side, another song on the other side, and you mix the two together. That's what it does. Yeah, but what does the iPod do? No, you can just put your iPod... The iPod is like your record. Well, Sky, don't you... No! Sorry. That it's your record? Why? He didn't understand that? Yeah, he didn't understand that's what you meant the whole time. I want to know, in Rob's words, how this thing works. Welcome back. It's 9-18. Patrick Swayze checked himself into the hospital on Friday. He's suffering from pneumonia. There's going to be no repeat Super Bowl champion this year as Philadelphia beat the Giants 23-11. Oh, my God. Oh, man. Let's hear from everybody's favorite quarterback, Eli Manning. It's disappointing. I thought we did some good things. I thought we had some opportunities. And that's what's disappointing. It's not like we came out here and they just flat out. We kind of just had chances. We just made the plays when we needed to. Shut up. Shut up. Turn that anger toward Tom Brady. Yeah. Why?
Because if you wouldn't have got injured, you would have been in the playoffs this year. Dude, things happen. It's okay. Matt Castle did a great job. Don't hassle him. Can't hassle Matt Castle. The playoffs were out of our control this year. We should have been. If you would have won more games, we would have won. Hey, Eddie. A couple of coin tosses ruined it for you. So what's up with the Padres selling? Is there a rumor or something going on that they're selling or they're doing something? Yeah. They are, you know, obviously for sale. And this dude who is a partner of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who was a former sports agent, is going to be buying them. Really? Which is really cool. Dang. Yeah, I like it. I like that it's a baseball guy. And you think he'll spend money and make him good? I certainly hope so. Well, he'll definitely spend more than what we're spending now. Yeah. You know, so hopefully that'll happen and go down. I want to hear that guy. come on and have a press conference. What really trips me out is I'm wondering if that sale would have gone through already if the Trevor Hoffman thing would have happened. He could have come in and been like, hey dude, I'll meet with you and let's talk about this because that was Trevor's big thing. The owner didn't want to meet with him. It wasn't like it was an extraordinarily high amount of money. No, it was pretty close to what the brewers gave him.
So he was just PO'd. That sucks. That is too bad. Wow. The phone's ringing. Hey, you guys. It sounds like Sammy Sosa on the line. Oh, it is Sammy Sosa. It's Sammy Sosa. Who else? No, that's Sean. That's Sean. That's Boston Rob, yes. Now, you always say actually, but her name is Ashley. That's what I just said. That's what he just said. We're friends here. And the other guys. Yes, the other guys are Rob and Zeth. Yes, you already mentioned Boston Rob. Oh, what's his name? Zeph. We tell you every time, Sammy. Wait, what's his name? Hey, Sammy, you must know a lot about this whole... Oh, Mikey. Do I know? Do I know? Right, right. I know Senor Trevor very well. Senor Trevor Hoffman. Senor Trevor. We would go on fishing trips all the time. A what? A what? What kind of trips? Fishing trips. Yeah, we would go on the fishing trips together. Just me, him, and our culo.
You, him, and who? Arculo. Arculo? Who's Arculo? Don't you know what Arculo is? Do you know you put your stuff in it? No. Cooler. Yes. Please understand. He's trying to say cooler. Cooler. Yes. He's saying in the cooler. You know what I mean? That's a lot more sense. Yes. It's a cooler. Some ice, some beer, maybe some snack. Cooler. Cooler. Cooler. Cooler. Cooler. He's got a very thick accent. I do have some advice for Trevor. You do. You do. What is it, Sammy Sosa? You know, I know a spot in case he get lonely in Milwaukee. I know a spot where he can score some stuff. Just go down to the southwestern shore. What is he talking about? I don't even know what he's talking about. You go to the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan. Michigan. What is that? What is he talking about? It's so weird. Well, I don't understand what you're saying. I've never heard of a lake called Michigan.
I think he's saying Lake Michigan. Oh, he's saying Lake Michigan. I think so. This is really tough. Oh, it's tough with the accent. It's okay. I understand saying that. You go down there, you whistle like a robin, and you sing the first verse of In the Arms of an Angel by Sarah McLachlan. Okay, that's it. Real specific and really bizarre. Too specific for the FBI. That's how you score the good stuff. Yes, and that's not good to say, probably, Santa Sosa. You know, Mikey, moving to a different team can be very hard for a player. It can, yeah. For instance, I moved team again. You moved your teams again? I did. I was playing for the El Centro Dos Devils. You were playing for the El Centro what? Dos Devils. The El Centro Dust Devils, I think is what he's trying to say. That's hard to... Yeah, it's hard to understand, Sammy. Sorry, Sammy. So now I play for the Mexicali Winos. Winos? That's not a team. I've never heard of them. You know, I just finished completing an email to Trevor Hoffman. Oh, you did? I just want to tell him to hang in there. Good luck.
That's nice. And if I ever get to work at Major League Baseball again, I will press send. But until then, I know how you see me in the dress. Okay, well... I'll compute all right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, Sammy, it's been kind of a tough time for you. You know, it would be great for Trevor to see a new team, to meet some new teammates. Yes. Yes. I bet he really is going to miss those Tier 1 prostitutes. No, no, no. I don't think you don't. You know, Mikey, I know a lot of people in Milwaukee. You do? I didn't know that, Sammy. A lot of people. A lot of people. Really? In fact, I know, I smuggler. You know a smuggler? I know a smuggler, and I should have Trevor and him meet up so he's not so lonely up there. What is he talking about? He should make a couple of extra books. He can go on some errands for him. I don't think Trevor needs to be a donkey. Trevor is looking for, well, let's say he wants to party, right? I know some chicas who love to party in Milwaukee. Really?
Now, this one girl, her roommate is a little bit of a prude. Their names are Laverne and Church. They work at a brewery. Sammy, you were watching Laverne and Shirley. You don't know them. I don't know if you know this, Mikey, but Trevor, he loves beer. He does. I did not know that. Which is ironic because he goes to the brewers, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess it is kind of. It would be like if I went to the meth cookers. Oh, my God. Sammy. Sammy. Sammy. Sammy. Sammy Sosa. It would be like if I went to the Sunset Boulevard Pimps, right? Okay. You're not in that stuff. I am really jealous of Mikey. This is my last line. You know, I'm really jealous of him because you know that I love Cereza too. I'm going to the Brewers, right? I love Uncle Stan, Mikey. You love Uncle who? Wait, wait, wait. You love Uncle who? Uncle, what the hell?
You said you love Anchor. I say I love Anchor's stem. Wait, wait, wait, you guys. I think he's saying Anchor's stem. Oh, wow. That's a good ear. Wow, not bad, not bad. But that isn't my favorite micro brew, but my favorite macro brew. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bob's Blue Ribbon, baby. What is that? Halloween. Celebrity voice. He's apparently lost his mind. Sammy Sosa. You saw that too? Yeah. In here too. Just looked up at the, you know, the control screen here that controls, you know, everything. The radio station, you know, and Everything on it disappeared. Oh, well, that's... Oh, it's a new Clear Channel money saving. Budget cuts. When I say that, I don't mean that the screen went blank. I don't mean that. What I mean is that all the controls are still there. It's just that all the information just disappeared. It's gone. If you watched 24 last night, think about that. Really? Yeah. Maybe there is a connection, Sky. Oh, dude, you don't even get it. You don't even get it.
They got the power. They hacked in. Wouldn't it be great if Jack Bauer could come here right now and fix the radio station? Yeah. That would really be great. Our phone number is 570-1053. Who wants to be a millionaire game show on TV, and a guy wins it and falls in love, and is it fate? Yeah, but it also shows the very ugly side of things that happen to children in India, so it's like, yeah. Uplifting. It's terrible. Yeah, it's got a little bit of everything in there. That seems like it'd be hard to watch. Oh, yeah, I heard that there's times where it's not fun. But an enjoyable movie. Craig Gass left me a 24-minute message about it. Oh, yeah. You guys have friends that leave the long messages? Craig likes to leave the long ones. He leaves like three, four, five minute messages. Do you always listen to the whole thing or do you just finally hit delete somewhere through it? I have to. Yeah. Because, you know, I mean, I don't want to talk to him and have him go, hey, dude, remember that thing I was telling, you know, or something big. So anyway, I'll be on your doorstep. Yes, exactly.
So Rebecca, my wife, was saying that she heard us when we were talking about the text thing, by the way. Remember when we were talking about the text thing and we said, hate it when you text somebody, they call you. And she said, I got one, too, that I hate even more than you text somebody and they immediately call you. She says, what about when you text somebody, they immediately call you, you protest by not picking up, and they leave you a message not telling you. What they originally, but saying, call me back. That's Woods. Is that Woods? Woods does that all the time. Yeah, everybody definitely has. Dude, you're too good to answer your phone now, dude. I know you're there, dude. You just texted me. You're sitting right there, dude. Come on. Answer the phone. Pick up your phone, dude. Blake. Oh, is this what it's like when you live out there in California? I guess you're big time as a movie star now or something because you're living in California. Big radio star. That's great, dude. Oh, okay. Now I see what it's like, bro. I guess I know where I fall on your priority list. Let's see. Everybody is shocked that it's going to be the Arizona Cardinals and the Philadelphia Eagles. Okay. That's quite enough. Playing in the...
NFC Championship. He left the whole team, you guys. Eddie. I just want to speak. Come on, tell him. What's up? Well, first of all, I think Carolina really blew it. They got away from their running game, which is the best thing they do, really early. And Jake DeLome probably had the worst game of his life. It's Gerald got in his head, dude. Okay. Let me tell you. It's true. This Ashley has somehow forever associated Larry Fitzgerald and her. I can't escape Ashley with Larry Fitzgerald. I'll go even further. I credit all of his success, thus me realizing how good he is to me. I really feel like my exclamation of him is just like good juju and it's really rubbing off on him and he's going to take the team to the Super Bowl and they're going to win it thanks to me. I think so. I think she means mojo. No, it's Juju. I got your Juju and I'm sending it his way. You're welcome, Fitzgerald. Obama wants to digitize or digitalize health records. Obama. Yeah, he says that this will be great. It'll revive the economy because it'll create a lot of jobs and it'll modernize health care. And also, you know, it'll help health care and keeping of records and all this and that. What's your face for? If we get people to start.
inputting all the info. Yes. It'll revive the economy. Yeah, it'll create jobs. Yeah, why don't we think of that? You just gotta pay for it. Why don't we think of that? Do you have to stick your tongue out at me when you say that? Oh, yeah! Forgot about that one! Wait, wait. Old man Baker has something to say about this for some reason? Come on. Oh, wait. I'm supposed to take a break, but... I don't know what's going to happen when I hit the button. Yeah, I mean, Ron Foods, like, they're on it right now, but I don't know. It says we're off air. Let's see what happens when I hit this button. The Mikey Show is on. But at what cost? At what cost? This is The Rock. You're faking it, and it's killing you. Actually, I'm the cheesy double beef burrito from Taco Bell. You do sound delectable. But can you describe your economic theory? Seven words.
Double the beef for only 89 cents. Double the beef for only 89 cents? How's that for a bailout plan? My apologies, Mr. Cheesy Double Beef Burrito. You're clearly one of the great economic thinkers of our time. Apology accepted. By the way, double the beef for only 89 cents is actually eight words. Yeah, I was never good with numbers. by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, the ride has improved quite a bit out here this morning. We had that situation on the northbound side of the 5 from that accident near 28th Street. Pretty much out of the way. They're just kind of cleaning up some debris, but now the ride's actually looking pretty good. Almost full speed now, all the way up and towards downtown. Another accident, North 805 near Plaza Boulevard has also been cleared out of the way. That traffic alert has been canceled, and things are just about back to normal there. On westbound 56, you'll find a brief slowdown here towards the 5 Freeway. And watch for an earlier accident also still wrapping up here on the westbound 8 just before Fairmount Avenue coming into Mission Valley. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwood 053. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I want my want like I want my want. Eddie. Well, I'm married. No. The sky. I get the news together. And I know... The news. Sean. I love it when black people make fun of white people. Boston Rock. I'm a go-getter. Ashley. I am a great driver. The Mikey Show's on. 1053. Welcome back to the show. It is 939. Well, I'm sure you've noticed gas prices are on the rise again, going up an average of 27 cents in the last few weeks here in San Diego. Right. Broncos have a new head coach. They named Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as their new head man. He's only 32 years old. Hmm. That is a young coach. His text message at 35253 says, did anyone else think it was weird that Tiki Barber was at the Golden Globes interviewing people? They picked the worst people. So they got that robot Brooke Burke or whatever the hell her name is. The chick that won Dance with the Stars who is horrendous. Zero personality.
And Tiki Barber. That's strange. Tiki Barber? Why? I don't know. And nobody can hear the questions. So it was like they'd ask this long-winded question. They're like, I can't hear you. Yeah. Every question. And it's weird because Eddie and Sky were saying earlier how the format's just bizarre. They have tables with people like eating and drinking while this award show's going on. And people are talking while awards are being presented. And it's just awkward. It doesn't sound. It doesn't sound easy to watch. It sounds hard to watch. It was. And the one lucky thing for them this year is that Jack Nicholson wasn't there. When Jack is there, it's like bedlam. I mean, it's crazy. We're going to be doing P1 trivia here in just a second. So if you want to win the chance to come and sit in in the studio on Friday, actually be in the studio here with us and hang with us, get a backstage pass, catered breakfast, the whole thing. Give us a call at 570-1053 if you want to do that. And we'll do a little P1 trivia with you. Interesting email and blog or text about the same thing. Mikey, OMG, did you read Ashley's blog today? I seriously tried but got so lost that now my head hurts. Any chance you know where the cliff notes are to Ashley's blog? That's P1 Corman.
And then P1Stevo texted and said, Mikey, I was just reading Ashley's blog and noticed that she spelled Plateau, P-L-A-T-O-E. Wow. Yes. And I'm just trying to process that. That is genius. S-D-S-U. Isn't that how you spell it? No. It's a teller, right? No. Plateau is spelled P-L-A-T-E-A-U. Ah. What did you blog about today, Ash? I was just... talking about stuff. Oh, no. What is that? What were you up to? This is your blog. Good luck, everybody. It's one of those, you know, you got to read it to really understand it. You can see all of our blogs, all seven of us blog, and you can read our blogs daily at MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. That's where our blogs are. And you can also see the Mikey Minute there. Every weekday, Zeth films me. at the end of the show, giving a recap of the show, and he, as his signature, he always turns the camera to Ashley and blocks her with his finger. Whatever. It is his calling card. Whatever. 570-1053, if you would like to do a little P1 trivia. So are you going to read her blog, or do I have to go to the website and read it myself? Well, she was saying that it's something that you have to go see, but yeah, I'll see what it is. Read it to me.
Please tell me stories. Oh, by the way, Tango has blogged. Oh, no. Sky's Cats. Oh, yeah. Nice. Is it Tango or Logan that's blogged? I don't know. I didn't even know they were blogging. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think it's Tango. Tango is the one that has blogged. Yeah, well, I guess they both blog. I didn't really realize, but my cats are blogging. So if you want to read it, yeah, go to MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. I am a good writer. It's really nice. Yeah, I'll read it to you. Do I do it in Ashley voice or do I do it normal? You got to do it normal. I don't know. It's really long. Like, I really don't know that. It's pretty long. It says, good morning, cupcakes. Well, I guess I'm not that surprised that this weekend. I guess I'm not that surprised that this weekend, like the previous week. Wait, that's a sentence? That's a sentence? Just keep going, bro. I'm telling you. You just got to read it. That doesn't make any sense. You don't make any sense. Decided to just fly the heck by. I unfortunately made it to the gym, which wouldn't really explain the fact that I'm stuffed my face right now. I unfortunately never made it to the gym. Got it. Okay. I don't really want to talk about the Chargers. I don't think you do either. Listen, we both understand. We know they came back when no one thought they could, and we should be proud.
The fact that they had maybe the worst third quarter in playoff history is neither here nor there. So we'll just move past it and say, there's always next to your smiley face. Oh, exclamation point. Here's a piece of good information. So this is what they're talking about, I think. You know when you're processing something and you become stagnant about it? What? This is going to get really good. Oh, yeah, it is. Just about a second here. I already love it. Just about a second. I can hear it's really going to rev up. Now you go. No. Like, comma, like you're not quite over it, haven't completely processed it, yet have yet to come up with a solution. Whether it's your work, a problem with yourself, or even a breakup. Whatever it may be that you're processing, and I like when people use quotations for a word that doesn't. necessarily need it. That's why I only used one. Whatever it may be that you're processing, you know how sometimes you will plateau and yes, it's spelled P-L-A-T-O-E. For the people that don't know how to pronounce it. You know how sometimes you'll plateau even for just a moment. You have spell check. Or for me, it was like two months maybe. But I've been processing something that weighed deep on my heart. Just say it.
I get what you're saying, Eddie. You're saying, listen, if you're going to go through all that, you know. Please. You know what I'm saying? You're so veiled. I've been processing something that weighed deep in my heart. Weighed on my mind, dot, dot, dot, dot, frequently. And this weekend, something lifted. Something shifted. Thank you. I don't really know exactly what, but all I know is now, question mark? I took another step up this old ladder we call life, man. This is real. This is real. What I'm reading to you is actually words. But it's a joke. No! Seriously? I'm being serious. I came to the realization of some things I had been on the fence about. And it just feels good. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you what's fantastic. Let me tell you what's fantastic. What's fantastic is reading it.
And then looking at that picture of her on the page. Like, reading it and going, that girl wrote that. Like KB&J, right? That girl wrote that. You know what I mean? Wow. I came to the realization of some things I'd been on the fence about, and it just feels good. It feels good to process, to get results. You know, as opposed to just acting on feelings and not necessarily doing the right thing. You know what I mean? It's just nice to make progress, because life isn't always easy, man. Things don't always go your way. Although they did have a cinnamon roll at Henry's yesterday. I hadn't had them for the past three times I'd gone. And had they not had them yesterday, I maybe would have completely said on tantrum. But you know what? They did. They were mini cinnamons. So it all came together. It's just it all made sense. That's a good thing I went to that. Listen. I should have.
I know what I'm talking about here. No. The girl who wrote that is my direct supervisor. We play P1 trivia, and the way that we do it is you've got to get to five points. You have to answer a one, two, or three-point question. So you could get there with just answering two questions, a three and a two. It's up to you. All the questions are about The Mikey Show. This is P1 Scene. Hi, Scene. Hey, good morning, Mikey Show. Good morning. How are you, man? Pretty good. How are you guys doing? I'm good, man. Tell everybody what a P1 is. A P1 turns down the radio, gets straight to the point, doesn't touch, and listens to the Mikey Show exclusively. Very well done, sir. Very well done. P1's scene is 25 years of age, right? Yes, sir. How long have you been listening? About two years. All right. Let's see who your competition is today. You will be going up against P1 Nicole. Hi, Nicole. Hey, what's up?
Not too much. Nicole is 23. Where are you from, Nicole? I'm from El Cajon. And how long have you been listening? About three years. Okay, cool. We got a pretty even matchup here. Nicole, we're going to start with you. And again, you get to pick a one, two, or three-point question. First person to five points wins. I'm going to take the sky approach and go for two. Two? Two-pointer. Nice. Okay. What show member competes in the Village Idiom? P-Rob. That is incorrect. That is incorrect. It is Ashley that competes in the village idiom. Oh, goodness. Yep. That's where the term as the crow flies came from. Yep. We give her the idiom, and then she has to tell us what it is. And when we gave her as the crow flies, she said that that was when somebody is very diligent but basic.
Great work ethic. Great work ethic. Dead fast. Boring. But basic. P1 Scene. Yeah, let's go for a sky approach, too, and give me a dude. You got it. People know that I get it. P1 Scene. What's the other name that Eddie uses for killer whales? What else? What does he call them? The black and white. That is correct. Yeah. Or death dealers. That's right. Death dealers. How dare you? The old death dealers. How dare you? The black and whites. Let's see. Nicole, what would you like? A one, two, or three-pointer? I'm going to try a two again. You're going to do a two. Come on, Nicole. Oh, Mike. Who is the guy that comes on the show to give money advice? Who is our money expert that we have on the show? I'm totally drawing a blank right now. It's a tough one.
Can you give me a hint? Like, is it actually a show member or is it? No, no, no, no. It's somebody that we have as a guest and I'll give you his initials. Okay. His initials are GC. I want to say, I have a feeling it's Greg something, but. Steel. Go with it. He wears a blue shirt. Yes. Every time. I love it. I'm going to say Greg, but I can't. The C is just escaping me. Sorry. George Chamberlain is our money guy. That would be so good. Doesn't rhyme with Greg. No. Not at all. So close, though. Yeah, but it starts with a G. P1 Scene, what are you going to do? Let's go Boston Robson and try to wrap it up with a three. It's not going to be good. It's not going to be good. P1 Scene. I'm just saying. What is the name of Sean's friend at 7-Eleven? Kumo's Deep. Yeah.
Oh, man. I'm going to give you Cool Mo's Deep, ladies and gentlemen. That's what it is. It's not. Yeah, it is. His name is Cool Deep. But his club name is the most deep. Yeah, yeah. It's his DJ name. Yeah. All right, Nicole, in order for you to come in, you have to answer a one-point question. You ready? All right. The Mikey Show loves to do stuff for charity. What charity do we normally and most frequently raise money for? Children's Hospital. That is correct. Very well done, Nicole. You get to come in too. Please hang on the line, you two. Very well done. And we come back, ladies and gentlemen. Got to take a quick time out. But when we come back, I am going to be telling you who was ripping on Noel Gallagher, the guitarist for Oasis. This is going to kind of surprise you when I tell you. Wait till I tell you who was ripping on Nicole, not Nicole, Noel Gallagher.

Ashley is a very young woman on the show. Just shut up, Mike. She's in that period of time. Leave me alone. She sweats. She'll outgrow it, Eddie. But it's been like that for years. She'll outgrow it. Get pitted. So pitted. She is pitted under there. Terrifyingly pitted. Sweating all over the place. Enough already.
MTV is giving college students a shot at being correspondents for the Oscars. And he's rolled his eyes. So if you're an aspiring journalist, basically you can submit your video at oscars.mtvu.com. And if you're picked, you will get to go backstage. Can I do that? Yeah, why not? Send it to him. We'll get to go backstage as well as cover the red carpet for the Oscars. That'd be so awesome. Now you go. I bet you'll get picked. Does it matter that he's not in college? Just make, just say you go to the college of life, baby. Yeah, yeah. Get on something online real quick or something. Okay. I graduated from the school of Hard Knocks. Yeah. Still going there. Yeah. Perrier. No, Perriette. Perrier. Perrier. Perrier. This is a text message about Ashley. This girl is someone who supposedly was an English major.
Oh. Money well spent, in my opinion, LOL. English minor. Minor. And I dropped out, so in your face. Yeah. But you always say you're an alum. I'm an alum. I am an alum. She's an alumnus. That's right. I'm an alumnus. Balance bars. What did I say? What were we going to do, Sky? Oh, yeah. I was going to tell you. Who is ripping Noel Gallagher? The guitarist for Oasis. Who's ripping him? Who isn't? Let me tell you, you could make a list. This guy probably wouldn't be on your list of people that could potentially be making fun of Noel Gallagher or, you know, ripping him. Yeah. So Noel was asked if they did a movie about Oasis and about the life of him, who would he want to play him? And he said he would love for Daniel Craig to play him. 007. Yeah. James Bond. So then Daniel Craig was doing an interview, and he was told this, and he said, that's ridiculous. He must have been in a good mood to say that. I can play better guitar than Noel, so I don't know that that's really going to work. So he said the role would be hard for him because he's a bad guitarist. That's great. You know, Charles Barkley's not on TNT anymore.
Well, yeah. Disaster. He's going through a couple of issues right now. What did he do? Over the holidays, he was arrested on a DUI charge. Oh. Yeah. And, well, he had a pretty good excuse. Yeah. Well, he was really drunk. He wasn't a little drunk, you know. It was in Scottsdale, Arizona. And it's .08. You don't want to get drunk there because that's Joe Arpaio territory, man. Sheriff Arpaio with the tent city and all that. Yeah, so .08 is legally drunk there. He was .149. That's the legal limit. Not good. But he was trying to tell police it was okay because he failed to stop at a stop sign. That's why he was pulled over. And he was telling police that it should have been okay because he was on his way to get a sexual favor. Get out. And he specified what sexual favor and started talking about how good this woman is at said sexual favor. He was in a hurry. He was in a hurry. He needed to get there. Wow. We've all been there. All right. Do you think that because he's rich and famous, he will get out of anything? Like, you know, not have to, you know what I mean? Well, I mean, you know.
If that's his first offense, you know, he'll probably get probation. Because really, I mean, there's nothing. I mean, he could say that if he wants. That's not illegal to say that. It's just basically a DUI. But he totally embarrassed himself. Yeah. He is taking a leave of absence from TNT as their basketball analyst. Really? Yes. Let's see. This story. In San Diego, gay rights protesters rallied against Prop 8. And called on Obama for action. Yeah. Quimby, we work on a radio. Quim, for goodness. We're professionals. I mean, really. I'm a journalist. I'm in the middle of a broadcast. A journalist is working here. Please. I know it all, bro. Thank you.
But anyways, yeah, so this rally was, of course, to voice the opposition to Prop 8, but also they want the Defense of Marriage Act, which is a federal law from 96 that states marriage is between a man and a woman. They want that to be repealed, and so that specifically, they were collecting signatures in an open letter to Barack Obama. How many signatures did you get, Seth? Sky. Sky. I don't understand. I don't understand. Why do you not understand? So gay rights activists were out there protesting. Yes. And they were calling on Obama to do what? To repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, which is a federal law from 1996 that defines marriage as a legal union between a man and a woman. So here's one of the protesters explaining. Cut 104. asking everyone to pay attention and look at things like DOMA, which take away rights from certain individuals and had been in place since 1996. So this is the attempt to get out there in numbers and have President-elect Obama be very aware that this is something that needs to be revised and repealed. Well, let me tell you, she'd be just as mad at me if I was out there doing a protest because it had gone the other way. You know what I'm saying? You don't know that.
Who says she's going to be mad at you? She'd be like, get over it already. Well, that's what you're saying. Please. Come on. Get over it. We won. Quit your complaining already, talk show boy. So they marched over the weekend from the county administration building down Harbor Drive. Let's be clear. You're a real journalist. Well, they switched. Boom, ba-ba-boom, ba-ba-boom. It's like a Fosse production. Jazz hands, jazz hands, jazz hands. And a one and a two. And a one and a two. And a one and a two. I want to see those steps higher. Come on. Work those glutes. Is that it? Did I miss anything, Scott? Bush and Obama, they want that bailout money right now.
They want it now, daddy. Yeah, and this actually makes me feel good. Bush and Obama are working together to try and get the remaining $350 billion now. But Barack would be in charge of distributing it, and Barack said as soon as he gets in office, he's going to change things to make sure that the way this money is spent is monitored, that people are put in check, and that we're not just giving off money and saying, okay, go do what you wish. We're watching these people and making sure they're doing what they're supposed to do with this money. That's a good idea, Barack. I want to know where that stuff's going. That's it. We've done it all. We rattled off every single last story. You're welcome. Rattle it. That's right. Thank you. Now you go. Thank you. I think I'm forgetting something, but I know I'm not. Do you know what charges lost? No. What? Playoffs. Unfortunately. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Oh, I did forget one. I forgot a big one. Oh, there it is. I forgot a big one. What?
Pac-Man Jones is being interviewed, and I would say that this is a pretty ballsy question that this guy throws out there. Cut 56. What is it about strip clubs that you can't stay away? Oh, JB, I love you. Save that clip. So good. What is it about strip clubs that you can't stay away? Legitimate question. What did Pac-Man say? At the time, you know, script clubs are like regular clubs. But, you know, I haven't been in a script club in, what, two years now? It's pronounced strip club. Almost three years, whatever it is. I haven't been in a script club since that incident. You know, I live and I learn. You know, I like the script club. Okay. Save that the entire thing ever. Save I like it a strip club. Is he Italian now? I like the strip club. When you're making a macaroni and then cheese. I like the mozzarella. Okay, that was funny. Sky, did you hear me? Mozzarella. Yeah, I got it. Thank you for participating. I like the strip club. That was great. It's pronounced strip club.
Genius. No, I like it as script club. Yes. Uh-huh. I like it as script club. Oh, that's fantastic. Where do I sign that guy? Yeah, okay. 570-1053. That's our number. Call us right now. Beginning and end of every show, open phones. You can call about anything you want to. Thank you, Mary Lynn Reiskup. She was funny as usual. Doesn't she sound like everybody's friend? Yeah. You know what I mean? That's hilarious. Like you would just call her in the middle of the day and go, what are you doing? And just figure something out. She's very cool. Sammy Sosa called in today. Thank you, Sammy. Let's see. Sean Merriman called in. That was nice. We played Boston Rob's new song. Brett Favre should retire. That's awesome. What are you eating? What are you eating? A cookie. You never eat stuff like that. It's very unusual. Eddie's aunt made it. Yeah? Eddie doesn't have an aunt. I don't have an aunt. Yeah. Eddie doesn't have an aunt. He's got a few. You have an aunt when you drink Perrier. Yeah. Thanks. 570-1053. Let's see. Hall of Famer P1 Sanjaya on the phone. Oh, Sanjaya. What's up, Sanjaya? Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Start again. Oh, good morning, Sanjaya. Oh, there he is. Sanjaya. Hi, you. Hey, what up, dude?
I just wanted to tell my story real quick, dude, because Eddie mentioned how he had a mouse in his barbecue. Yeah. I went to go light up my grill, and I heard something scurry out of there. Well, actually, I lit it first, and I heard something scurry out of there, and it was a possum. Oh, no. Did you catch it and cook it? I caught it on fire. Oh, no. I said, okay. Is it okay? I don't know. I haven't seen it since. Until Jay punched it in the face, it was fine. Or Sky ran it over. Okay. Remember when you ran over that mom? That was probably one of the worst things. And until this day, I still barbecue on that barbecue. Dude, that's sick. Awesome hair. Gross. That's awesome. Awesome. You have nothing to worry about, Eddie. Okay, good. Yeah, you're good. Thanks, dude. Love you. Hey, P1 Scooby. Ah, Scoop. What's up, man? What's up, Scoop? Hey, man, bummer by the Chargers, but hey, we move on, right? Hey, dude, I don't want to hear it from you, Raider fan. I don't want to hear it. Oh, okay. Your sympathy is overwhelming. Yes. It's oozing out of you. Hey, I've got to show that you can cry, right? Whatever. Anyway, you guys got to go watch Gran Torino. Really? That's what everybody's saying. Is it real good? Yeah, I saw it, and it's...
It's good. Put your earmuffs on if you're offended by racism. Yeah, somebody said that that stuff gets real thick. Real thick. Super racist in that movie. Really? Wow. Eastwood, awesome director. I think he even wrote it, too. I'm not sure. I heard that he's really great in it. His performance is really great. It's classic, dude. It's like watching one of his old westerns. I love it, man. I love watching that vintage Eastwood where he doesn't open his mouth when he talks. Let's all go to a matinee. Sounds good, Eddie. Let's all sashay. Come on. Let's sashay down there. All right, thank you, Scooby. Yeah, no problem. All right, see you. Mikey Show, hello. Yeah, how's it going to tell you guys the DUI law for Arizona because you guys were wondering about Charles Barkley getting arrested. Uh-huh. It's automatically, like, one year. You have to pay to get the interlock device installed in your car, and you also have to do 10 days in 10 cities. Now, wait. Are you saying that that's your first offense? Yeah, like, that's your first offense. Oh, wow, dude. That's pretty harsh. Whoa. Yeah, that's Joe Arpaio, man. Wow. Joe Arpaio, dude. Tomorrow on the show, you got Rob. Oh, yes. Boston Rob out on the streets videotaping.
Lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. And today on the Nooner, she's got double shots. It will be awesome. Make sure you're listening. And we'll see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. Mike's Showtime.
