The show opened with a replay of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech, setting a reflective tone for Martin Luther King Day. Host Mike and his crew then shifted to sports excitement, celebrating the Arizona Cardinals' first‑ever Super Bowl berth after beating the Eagles, and previewing the upcoming inauguration with a Jamie Foxx Barack Obama impression. Throughout the episode they covered lighter topics like Larry Fitzgerald's legendary catching ability, a salty coffee craze in Taiwan, and Stone Brewery being named the world's best brewery, while also handling serious listener emails about explaining death to a child and a vasectomy reversal debate. The program wrapped up with promos for upcoming segments, including the "It's Not Hard to Say Goodbye to President Bush" song and a reminder to call in for P1 trivia.

So even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men are created equal. Have a dream. That one day on the red hills of Georgia, former slaves and sons of former slave owners, to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day injustice, heat of oppression, be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
racist. His lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification. One day white boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today. In the course of our history, only a handful of generations have been asked to confront challenges as serious as the ones we face right now. Our nation is at war. Our economy is in crisis. Millions of Americans are losing their jobs and their homes. They're worried about how they'll afford college for their kids or pay the stack of bills on their kitchen table. Most of all, they're anxious and uncertain about the future, about whether this generation of Americans will be able to pass on what's best about this country to our children and their children. I won't pretend that meeting any one of these challenges will be easy. It'll take more than a month or a year.
There will likely take many. On the way, there will be setbacks and false starts in days that test our resolve as a nation. All this, despite the enormity of the task that lies ahead. We stand here today as hopeful as ever that the United States of America will endure, that it will prevail, that the dream of our founders will live on in our time. For the show, it is six. Barack Obama's pre-inaugural festivities kicked off yesterday with a musical celebration, including performances by U2, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, and more. Can you believe it? The Arizona Cardinals beat the Eagles 32-25 to win the NFC Championship and go to the Super Bowl for the first time ever. Head coach Ken Wisenhunt thanks the Cardinals fans. I got the chills.
Yesterday, when you saw those players, and I think they were talking to Adrian Wilson. He was crying. And my brother was there, and he was sending me pictures from his iPhone. And you're just seeing all that confetti falling. And just, it's so great to look at people so happy. You know, when you get to watch somebody in the midst of something really incredible happening to them, that's always cool, you know? It's one of the NFL's probably greatest franchises, their most successful franchises in the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that's won the most Super Bowls, that's been to the Super Bowl almost the most times, going against a team that's never been there, has been a perennial loser, one of the worst franchises in NFL history. That storyline is fantastic. Yes, yes, yes. And, dude, you called it, man. And, you know, this was kind of the best case scenario for us as fans, you know, to get to see. I couldn't imagine a Ravens Arizona Super Bowl. I don't know what I would have done. It would have been terrible. It would have been brutal. It would have been terrible. Eagles, Ravens. No, Eagles. Well, and then, you know, it's an exciting week. It's an exciting week because.
We're going to be obviously talking about the big Super Bowl coming up throughout the week. And then tomorrow is Obama's inauguration. And so it's just an exciting week with everything going on. And I'm telling you, I have heard the best Barack Obama impression that I've ever heard or that I ever will. I do not believe. I do not believe that anybody can outdo what you're about to hear. This is Jamie Foxx impersonating Barack Obama. Cut eight. When our president-elect said to the American people, and he said it very smooth and calmly, he said, if there's anyone who still doubts that America is not a place where all things are possible, tonight is your answer. It's the answer that led those who've been told for so long by so many to be cynical and fearful and doubtful of what we can achieve to put our hands on the arc of history and bend it once more towards the hope of a better day. It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did at this defining moment, change has come to America.
That's solid. That's a solid impression. He needs a little bit more inexperience in his voice. I'm going to think of that at three o'clock this afternoon and start laughing. Hey, listen, you know, my dad, I think my dad said it best last night. He said, you know, I didn't vote for him, but I'm going to support him. And that's what I'm going to do, too. You know, I mean, as a as an American. I just want to feel good again, man. I want to feel good again. Last night, we were having dinner. In fact, I was reading Sky's yesterday email. We had the same dinner, Sky. Oh, no way. Corned beef and cabbage last night. Well, because we were celebrating our... It's a tradition for my wife's side of the family to do corned beef and cabbage for the new year, but we couldn't get together. My mom and dad have been so sick. And so last night was the first time we've gotten together.
And so we were doing our New Year stuff. But I'm sitting there and I'm sitting there with my mom, my dad, my mother-in-law, my mother-in-law's friend, Barbara, and their friend, Gary. And they're all the same age, you know. And we started talking about the economy and stuff. And they said, you know, my dad is 73. So the age range was between 55 and 73. And they all said that in their lifetimes. Nothing has been this hard. Nothing has ever been this. And which, OK, you know, I guess that that kind of stands to reason. But I didn't realize that, you know, for some reason in my head, I thought they're older. They've gone through all kinds of tough times. Sure, they've seen something real tough, but they haven't and they weren't alive for the depression. And so this is as bad as obviously anything I've gone through. And you guys probably, too, you know. And what they're going through, what they said is that it's the hardest thing they've gone through. So I'm just looking forward to good stuff, you know. I'm just really hoping for some good stuff to come around. And, you know, whoever it is, I'm just going to get in there and do something cool. Let's get the country to recover and get some stuff back.
So anyway, and the festivities are going on. Sky, what time does Obama get? Well, it's a whole huge list of events going on tomorrow. But from what I read, it sounds like the inauguration itself is going to happen around 1130 Eastern Time, which is going to be 830 in the morning our time tomorrow. So it's going to be early for us. Like the actual swearing in. Yeah. So, of course, you know, all the news will be replaying it throughout the day. But when it's actually going to happen, it's going to be around 830 o'clock tomorrow. We should play. I mean, that's so huge and giant and everything that, you know, every single person can really sort of relate and want to see it. We're all Americans. We, you know, be kind of cool. Plus, it's... Oh, yeah. I mean, forget history that, you know, a new president's being sworn in. First black president ever. Hello. Yeah. You know, I mean, that's gigantically historical. So, you know, be interesting to see. Can't believe the Arizona Cardinals are going to go to the Super Bowl. Yeah.
First, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays go to the World Series. Right? Right. I could never have thought that would have happened. I know. Arizona going to the Super Bowl. It's crazy. It is crazy. It's absolutely crazy. That's crazy. It's called carrying a team on your back, man. Okay. Wow. Let's take it easy. You know. Yeah, I know. What's it called? It's called literally carrying the entire team. On your back. Well, hold on. Oh, that's not nice. Somebody had to throw him the ball. Sure, right? And the defense had to. Anyone can throw a ball. Oh, no, that is not true. Hold on a minute. There's only one man that I know that can get up. I can get up above anyone else. You're kind of right. And make the catch. He catches everything. Everything. It doesn't matter where it is. And make the play. I heard that Kurt Warner threw the ball to Tucson one time. Yeah. And Larry Fitzgerald went up and got it. He caught it. It's crazy. He has freakish ability. It's a true story. That's a true story, too. He has a freakish ability. True story. Sick. He has freakish ability, that Larry Fitzgerald, that number 11. Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald.
Oh, really, Terry Bradshaw, you're not going to interview Fitzgerald? What's your problem? I mean, what's his problem? Talk to him. Why weren't the pregame shows live at the games? Good question. Is it the economy? Is it? You know what? That's such BS if they say it is because NFL prints money. The NFL makes money. You're telling me that they couldn't send. The NFL should be issuing the bailout. They could save our economy. They really could. I couldn't get over that yesterday, that the NFL pregame shows were not live at the championship games, which they always are. That's weird. And they had to send Terry Bradshaw after the pregame show on a plane to Arizona so he could do the postgame celebration thing. Ay, ay, ay. How is that saving money? What the heck? Huh? That's crazy. weird. 5701053 is the number. Our text number 35253. Jump on that text while you can. That train doesn't travel forever. It ain't no high speed train worth 80 billion dollars from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It ain't no AM track. Yeah, it ain't no AM track. Well said.
What the heck is happening? I don't know. I got it. You know what I'm saying? All right. 570-1053. Call us. Beginning and end of every show, we open the phones up to you so that you can use them. So that you can call us and say, hi. Talk about whatever, you know. You talk about whatever's on your mind. Yeah, text number 35253. What about our answering machine? You can use that if you want to, too. 858-715-1923 is the number. And a ginormous show. Let me first introduce everybody on the program today and then we'll get this show on the road. I hope I'm not losing my hearing. I think it may be because I've had some sinus issues lately and it plugs my ears up, but I keep having to inch that volume up. Little by little. I know it. My name's Mike and I'm the host of the show and I'm wearing blue today in honor of the Cardinals. So, you know, there you go.
So there it is. Well, that's nice. Let's see. I am 38 years of age. I went to Legoland yesterday with my son. Inauguration set up? Dude, I did not. And I'm so bummed. I know, Skye. Well, that's why you go. I know, man. That's the reason people are going right now. That's the main attraction. I know. And you know what? I did. When we walk in there, they're telling us. What did you do? We went on the rides. I know. I know. We left, and I was like, I slapped my hand to my forehead and went, we missed the big to-do over there. Jake was like, oh, Dad. Yeah, he was like, what's your problem? Oh, man. Dad, this is history. Yeah. Let's see this thing, you know? So I messed up. Way to go. I know it. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy, and he is 35 years old. He has a baby on the way. He is not going to give and reveal, or he's not going to find out what the sex of the baby is and wait. And he had a little poker, a little poker tournament this weekend. A little shindig. Who won, Eddie? My friend Tim's girlfriend, Jen, won. Really? Random. Who was the final people? Who was it? Oh, yeah, Oates.
With that strong last all-in hand. Hey, how do you call that, man? What was it? Was it like a 3-8 or something? Yeah, I had a terrible hand, but there's no way she should have called. There's no way you should have gone all-in with that hand. Thank you. What's the deal? Sky is our news girl. Hi, Mike. Hello. How's your new cat? Its name is Dito. How's Dito? Dito is a psychopath. Yeah? Thank you for asking. Thank you. Is that not going well? Well, no. She's just a crazy kitten, and she has no middle mode. It's all sleeping or attacking. There is nothing in the middle. She will actually fall asleep mid-attack. Oh, wow. She's a baby. Yeah, yeah. So I'm hoping she's going to grow out of that one. That's pretty funny. I will not leave the door open. There's coyotes out there. I know, that's what. No, no. Not safe. Which door are we talking about? Which door are we talking about? You will not leave the door open. Back door, back door, anyone. All right. That'll work. No, no, thank you. Anyone that leaves the outside. Anyone that leaves the outside. Windows, whatever. No, no way. Sean is our sound effects man and wears little green headphones.
Martian. And we see him in the camera. And he lives up in the Bay Area. And broadcasts via satellite out of a high-rise building there in San Francisco. And I'm in the closet. That's right. They're in the closet. When are you coming out? Umbrellas. Yeah, when are you coming out of that? There's Ashley. That's my wife. She's in the other room. She's separated from us by glass for our protection. She is a blonde girl. What? And, yeah, she will attack mid, you know, and fall asleep in the mid-attack as well. And I'd like to say there are updated pictures of Dito on my blog today. I didn't ask. Nobody asked. Nobody asked. There's one with her passing with King Plush, and there's another one with her and Tango in the cat house. Okay, nauseous. They're adorable. Me and me queasy. Cat house? Boston Rob.
Boston Rob, who will be featured in the stand-up spotlight this morning. When we go into the stand-up spotlight in just a second, it will be our boy Boston Rob, who we feature. He won the comedy showdown on Friday against Boy Blunder. And what can I say about him? He's 25. Or are you 26 now? Yeah, I'm 26. 26 years of age. You grow up so fast. I know, right in front of you. Literally. He's now a struggling comedian. That's right. That's all I do now is think of jokes. You do? Yeah. Good for you. I thought of a good one this weekend. You did? Yeah. What is it? Because I started eating Wheaties, but I don't like Wheaties regular. I like to mix it, or not mix it, but I like to put horchata in it. What in the hell? That's a good one. That is a funny joke. I was saying that it's the breakfast of Mexican champions. Multiple levels, that's funny. They know how to pronounce breakfast. Yes. Because everyone will be distracted. Breakfast. They'll be like, I guess that's the joke. I'm not sure. Is the joke Mexicans can talk? Yeah. And then there is the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire, MD, DDS, President, and CEO.
All right, Cherry's Jubilee, and that's it. That's right. That's it. No more. Let's see. P1 Scooby, what's up? Hey, what's going on, guys? What's up, dude? I have a question for you. Hi. Do you think I'm getting old just because I want to go to the movies and enjoy the movies with no distractions and no interruptions? Do I think you're getting old because you feel that? Yeah. I don't know that anybody ever really wanted to go to the movies to experience distraction. You know what I mean? Well, kids like to go there to, like, socialize. Yeah, I used to go to hook up. I went to the movies on Saturday. Did you hook up or socialize? Yeah, and I had a really bad experience. What happened? I went to watch Paul Blart. The mall cop. Which is funny, by the way. It looks funny. Give me a second here, Scooby, so that I can introduce everyone to Paul Blart. Yeah. Give me a...
Let's see. Give me cut 66. You remember one thing from today. It's this. The lunch. Half hour. But I eat in 20, which leaves me five minutes for social time. Five minutes to get refocused. There it is. Paul Blart, Mall Cop. All right, Sean. So go ahead. What was the experience? He loves bad movies. He loves them. So Scooby, what happened? So I'm sitting there watching a movie and right before the movie starts. Yes. Sorry, Scooby. This girl is laughing hysterically loud and unroxiously loud, and I'm just playing. We know someone like that. No, no, this girl sitting in front of me was texting on her cell phone. Oh, dude. And her light from her cell phone was distracting me from the movie. She did that like three to four times in the theater.
We have to come up with a better way to watch movies when they come out. Like home. That was just sad. Booths or something. Booths, yeah. Stalls. There was more. Okay. There was a little boy sitting behind me. Had to have been maybe 9 to 10 years old, maybe 11. And throughout the whole movie, he was narrating it for me. Oh, that's not good either. He was saying, oh, he's going into a mall. He's going into that store. Oh, I knew he was going to do that. Come on. That's rough. Are you serious? That's rough, dude. I don't like the movies. Yeah. I don't like going. Sucks. I wish they'd just let you get them at home. Buy them at home. You know, let's watch movies at home, babe. See, what sucks is I like going to the theater and like watching it in those chairs and popcorn. Like, I like all that stuff. I just wish I could be in there by myself. Yeah.
Yeah, I want to go see Notorious this weekend. And my husband's like, no. He's like, why? So I can go sit there and have someone kick the back of my chair and be annoyed for an hour and a half? And I'm like, okay. Dude, and you know, it's just going to be young kids that want to see Notorious. And they're going to be in there being, you know, rascals. Yeah, I saw Gran Torino over the weekend. And, you know, I had the narrator. And it was like a predominantly older crowd. But, you know, nobody gets it. Like, you're not at home. Yes. So, like, shut up. Yeah. Just be quiet. Please. We're at the theater. Be quiet. Please. That should be the script that the theater attendant reads before each film begins. Absolutely. He just gets up and that's the script. He just gets up and says, hey. Shut up. Thank you, guys, and enjoy your film. And please turn off all cell phones. Yes. No, no, no. Turn the power of them off. This is like an airplane. If you turn that thing on, we will all crash and die. Yes, thank you. The theater is a hard thing to do these days. But the food's delicious, isn't it? I like it. Oh, the popcorn. Oh, it's just delicious. Well, it's kind of hit and miss. I'm not going to lie. Well, Sky, when you pay $10 for a hot dog, it's got to be delicious.
Top quality. Yeah, top quality. It's like Wonder Bread with a weenie in it. Four main chefs in the back. Yes. Hooking those bad boys up. All trained at Le Cordon Bleu. Or a 16-year-old from Chula Vista High School. Either, you know, same thing. Same, total same thing. You know, 30 seconds on the mic. There's nothing more appetizing than ordering a pizza. Seeing it going into a silver microwave and watching the person go boop, boop, boop, beep. You're just, man, you're salivating. It's just like Little Italy. Yes. Yes. I'll take the Neapolitan, please. When I'm here, I'm like family. Yes. That would be the thing, man. Just turn movie theaters, just turn restaurants into. You know, when you're done with your meal, you get to go into the movie theater or have it at the same time. Patent pending. 570-1053 is our phone number. And you can call us about, you want to make comments about what's going on on TV or what's happening in the news or ask questions or whatever. It's an open forum. Ask for advice. Anything you want, you can call right now at 570-1053. The Arizona Cardinals are going to be in the Super Bowl. Oh, man, that's cool. That's scary.
My favorite team, I have to say, is the Chargers living here. But it used to be the 49ers when I was living there. I just don't see them as much. But I still love them. And I have an affinity for the Cardinals for living in Arizona. And so, boy, it was really neat. It's cool. Really awesome to see them going. And to actually have some sort of an emotional investment in a Super Bowl. That's kind of cool. Haven't had that in years. Where's the Super Bowl going to be? Tampa. Tampa. Oh. Yeah. That's nice. That's right. I hope it's... Do we know who's singing the national anthem? Jennifer Hudson. Really? This is going to be her first performance since her family was murdered. No way. Yeah, her first public performance. The Super Bowl? Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. I know that... The halftime show will feature Bruce Springsteen. Don't forget the E Street Band. Oh, and the E Street Band. And we're rocking. That's right. Lil Stevie. Come on. Let's do this thing. Yeah. Are a lot of people off today, you think? I know. Not working? Is anyone working today? Because I know in the building right now, it's like...
I think we're the only show here. For real? I think so. I didn't see anybody else. Don't we get to take a choice between a couple of holidays? We do, and we work both of them. Every year, they're like, when we come in and work today, and we go, why didn't we get today off? They're like, oh, you could have this or President's Day. And then we come in and we work on President's Day, and we go, why are we the only show here? And they're like, well, you could have this or Martin Luther King Day. And we're like, oh. Sky, you want to know? I think so. I remember that last beer. That's what they say, yes. It's true. Yeah, it's like a floating holiday. I don't know. I'm going to take off. Later. I'll see you guys later. Freeways are all empty. Oh, yeah. The parking lot here is like empty. All our listeners are sleeping right now. Oh, it must be nice. Doesn't it feel like a slumber party with us right now? I like it, actually. It's like we're having a slumber party. Let's order a pizza. Let's order a pizza and just watch movies. I'm hungry. Okay. You know what I'm saying? 570-570-1053 is the number. Well, I'll tell you this. We have a big show. Okay, well, that's good. Yeah, we have a giant show for you today. I cannot wait to enjoy it. Yeah. Today on the show, we are going to, oh, we got to replay the It's Not Hard to Say Goodbye to George Bush. Yes. So good. Yes.
We got to replay that for you, so we'll do that for you in just a bit. It's me, Eddie, Boston, Rob, Zeth, Sean. It's all the fellas, you know, getting together, doing a song. You know what I'm saying? We're going to get a worry ward update. We had a dude call in last Friday and say that he was dating this girl. And they are thinking about, you know, she's talking about their future together. And he needs to tell her, oh, yeah. I've had a vasectomy. And so he was going to tell her this weekend, we're going to get an update from him this morning after, actually, before this hour's done, we'll get an update from him. Before the hour's even over, we'll get an update from him and find out how that went. We got a really, really incredible email from a listener, P1 Corman, who wanted to ask us about explaining to an eight-year-old really hard times. How do you explain to an eight-year-old when really tough stuff goes on? And we'll also do P1 trivia today for your opportunity to come in the studio on Friday and hang out with us. So all of this stuff is coming up in your phone calls. 570-1053 is the phone number. And Boston Rob is in the stand-up spotlight. Welcome to my first appearance, I guess. I guess that's what this is. We'll see. A life-defining moment.
Some of you guys are just kind of putting a voice to the face. So I know that can kind of be weird and you're probably going in your head. I didn't know Marky Mark had a half-retarded homeless cousin. But, yeah, it's true. It's true. I'm here, so I'm doing comedy now. Could be worse, though. It could be much worse. I could be perfectly round like Boy Blender back there. Oh, sorry, sorry. Or I could have a face like Fergie. You know, she's got a face like someone farts in her Wheaties every morning. Some people are getting upset. She's not here, right? I don't want anyone to turn into like a pillar of salt or something. The Mikey Show continues. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning. What is racing done California style, you ask? Well, it all starts with the West Coast premiere of NASCAR. 1053 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. I'm moving right along for a pretty quiet ride for a Martin Luther King Day holiday today. Could be a light commute. So far, so good, man. Nothing's slowing you down at all. It's just looking fantastic throughout the county. It's going to turn out to be a wonderful day as well. So just enjoy the ride. Hopefully it'll stay that way. If you're heading into Orange County and Riverside at the 5 or 15 northbound, they're looking good for you as well. The border weight's even not too bad. Better now, we're at San Ysidro getting into the U.S. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, yeah, this is Matt. I was calling about the sleep train. Oh, cool. Did you go to sleep train? Oh, yeah. What'd you get, dude? I got the Carmelo Plus or Super Plus. Nice. The Carmelo Anthony? No, I'm not sure it was that. I was just kidding. Bed with caramel in the middle. That's right. You like your mattress? We haven't got it yet, but we're getting it tonight. Cool. But we got a super, super killer deal from...
The Encinitas one. Cool. Well, dude, thank you very much for the call. All right. Thank you. You're listening to the Mikey Morning Show with Mikey. I'm such a foodie and a food snob, but I love that Olive Garden. Eddie. We think fights are funny, so the kids should die. Yeah. Sky. I'm coming up on being married six years. Sean. I like black. Boss and Rob. What? I like to take my time and do things right. You sure do. And Ashley. Sometimes things make sense in my head, but not to anybody else. Rock 105.3. It's the number one rock song in the country. Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon. It's 641. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so remember, city, county, and state offices will be closed today. Pittsburgh Steelers pick off Joe Flacco three times on their way to a 23-14 win over Baltimore. It's the Steelers' seventh trip to the Super Bowl. Big Ben Roethlisberger talks about the win. The Lord is good. But I'm really proud of this band of brothers, guys. Congratulations. This one's for all the fans, troops that are overseas. We love you. This one's for you guys. That's cool.
That's very cool. Hey, Eddie, speaking of Joe Flacco, we got a text message for you that says, Oracle, I don't get why every sportscaster is so high on Joe Flacco. Can you explain it to me, please? That's P1 Spanky. It's not necessarily that they're high on Flacco. I think it's, you know, he's the quarterback for the Ravens. Okay, thank you. I think it's really impressive that he's a rookie and he got him to the championship game. You know, they simplify the offense for guys like that. You know, they rely on their running game, their defense, and kind of flack out and manage the game. And he did a real good job at it. We got another text here, Eddie, that says, Eddie, I know why they call you the Oracle now. You called both games yesterday and even came close with both scores. And your UFC prediction was right on. That's P1 Lando. Dead. Awesome. What happened with UFC? Going into the UFC this weekend, I was not really that hyped for it just because I just had a bad feeling that it was not going to be a great card. On paper, it didn't look like a great card, and it pretty much wasn't. The main event was pretty much what I said, that Dan Henderson laid on Rich Franklin for three rounds and tried to ground and pound him a little bit, but it wasn't the greatest fight.
You know, to see. And just the rest of the whole card was, eh. Kind of, eh. Some okay fights, but nothing that was like, oh, dude, did you see that fight? Mikey, not everybody can throw a ball. Did you forget your attempt that one time? Oh, that is a great point. Fitzgerald would have caught those, though, too. That's right. That is true. Mikey, no day off here. Off to do some work on the golf course. P1 Warrior. Wait a second. Wait a second. What? What kind of work are you doing on the golf course? Are you looking for the real killer? Unless you're a gardener, I don't want to hear it. You can text us at 35253. This text says, hey, Mikey, you have at least one listener today. I'm also working on this national holiday. That's P1 Elkanus. Let's see. Mikey, I'm awake. I'm working graveyards at a gas station. I listen to you every morning. You keep me from falling asleep on the job. Keep up the good work. That's P1 Levi. Mikey, plenty of construction workers listening. Thanks for being on. That's P1 construction workers. 5701053 is the number. Our text number is 35253. And let's see. The pre-inaugural festivities are kicking off.
They got kicked off yesterday. They're going to keep going. And my parents are real into it. I thought it was really funny that you two played. They're not American. With Alanis Morissette. Cut 20. Hopefully that's a monitor problem or something. Yeah, maybe he couldn't hear. Yeah, that had to be it. That's what happens with Ashley. What? That is not... No, it isn't? No. Do you want to hear Beyonce singing America the Beautiful? No. You don't? Yes. Yes, I do. You know what? Why don't you, Eddie? Check it out. Check it out. I listened already? Yeah? No? Really? No, dude. I think she's awesome, but I was listening and I was like... Has she got a great voice? She does, but I was just like...
I don't know. Maybe she had something on her mind. I love her. She has. Did it take her 20 minutes to sing this stupid song? That's what I'm thinking, man. Right. I don't know. You guys decide. 26. Let's take it one more time from the top and just sing it. Super Bowl's ever in San Jose. I'm sure they're Alaskan. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. He actually dislocated her jaw. Seriously. Yeah. Which is great. And ate an entire goat. Like whole. You have to dislocate the jaw in order to. to get that sucker in there, you know what I mean? The way that, you know what? I heard that 49% of all boa constrictors sing America the Beautiful to Disattach. Oh, yeah. I've heard that too. 100% of the time. 100% of the time. Sure. I've heard that. Sky, did you see Saturday Night Live? I know you're a big SNL fan. No, I'm having confusion in my house. What do you mean? Oh, no.
Oh, man. It's always a crisis. It's always a crisis. It's a crisis. It is a crisis. Well, so, you know, I told you the other week about how our dish got out of alignment and they had to move it. And so we ended up getting another DVR. Oh, mama. And, you know, how, like, they... create a new DVR every month, you know? Yeah, yeah. So the one that, the new one we got is like, you know, 50 times better than the old one we had. You have DirecTV or Dish? Yeah, DirecTV. High definition thing? Yes. You got the HR 21. Okay, whatever. So we put the old DVR up in our room and we put the new DVR downstairs. It's a good unit. Okay, you're weird. And so setting up the new DVR to record things, I have missed a few things. And so one of the things I missed recording was Saturday Night Live. But it's still recorded upstairs, but I didn't realize that until after I threw a hissy fit about it not recording downstairs. What was the problem? What happened that it got screwed up?
Well, because I went to, like, set it up. So I'm, like, going through. She hadn't season passed it on the new DVR yet. Yeah, I was going through the guide looking at all the primetime shows, not realizing that there's actually a few shows I watch outside of primetime. And then when it wasn't on there yesterday, I threw a hissy fit. And then last night before going to bed, I was like, oh, it's probably on the one upstairs. This was kind of funny on Weekend Update. Cut 30. On Thursday, New York water taxis accomplished in half an hour what the creators of Lost haven't been able to do in five seasons. Be honest, passengers. If you knew everyone called the pilot Sully, you never would have gotten on the plane in the first place. One of the passengers on the U.S. Airways flight that crashed in the Hudson River was a singer-songwriter who came to New York in search of creative inspiration. So be on the lookout for a new song entitled... 35253 is our text. Mikey, that comedy spotlight with B-Rob almost made me soil my pants from laughing so hard. Definitely going to listen to the whole thing online. That's P1 Little Buster. Mikey, has anyone told the worry wart that his visectomy procedure is reversible if he really wants to have a family? Just a thought. That's P1 Katie Bear. I don't know that he does. P1 300.
Has a great text, and we'll have Eddie cover this when we come back. It says, hey, Eddie, do you know if Willis McGahee is still alive after that hit? One of the worst I've ever seen. Eddie will give you an update when we... We come back and we will have that dude that got the bisectomy on the line. We can worry about updates next. He used to eat a lot of natural food. From experience, you know, I mean, I use AIS myself. AIS Auto Insurance, I use them myself. And I tell everybody that'll listen, on the air and off the air. I tell people off the air, too. The Vegas odds are out for the Super Bowl, and it has the Steelers as a six-and-a-half point favorite. Really? Yep. So before we went to break, we got a text message that was asking the Oracle. Text message wanted an update on Willis McGahee. Oh, man.
One of the hardest hits I've ever seen, Eddie. That was bad. That was bad. Yeah, he apparently is okay. He went into the hospital. He had some pretty bad neck pain and obviously had a headache. Yes. But he was able to move his arms and legs, and it seems like he's going to be okay. Let me tell you, you know it's bad when both players are down. Oh, yeah. And they both were down. It's like a train wreck, man. It was so, so hard. The slow motion shot. Over and over and over again. Dude, it was just crazy how hard he got hit. He got stamped. Let's see. Some of the other text messages that we're getting. The text number, by the way, is 35253. Mikey. Another golf course listener working to you all this morning, every morning. We're working hard today. You guys are great. Keep it up, P1 Collins. P1 Microsoft. Yeah, right. Mikey, U.S. Navy working hard today. And thanks for bringing us joy every morning. That's P1 GM2 Trahan. Mikey, firefighters are working for you today. Yes. I'm off to my fire station. Thanks for helping.
To start my shift right, that's P1 Tommy Gavin. Sweet. 35253 is the number. And our text number, that's our text number. And our phone number is 570-1053. We do this thing on Fridays called Weekend Worry Wart. And this thing is great, man. We have people call us and basically tell us what they're going to be doing over the weekend that is giving them the shivers. The shibs. The heebie-jeebies. The heebie-jeebies. What is going to be going on over the weekend that they're tripping out about, that they're worried about, that is just, like, weighing really heavily on their mind? And so we had a couple of people call us. P1 Dark Zone called us. Today I'm going to be going in for a career day presentation. I've been working on, I've been studying the legal careers for about two months now, and I'm going to be presenting them to a set of judges. How'd you get judged, dude? Well, I haven't really gotten my grades yet. It's going to come on Tuesday, but overall, I think I did a pretty good job. Were you nervous? Yeah, I was nervous. When I showed up, I saw my panel of judges. The three judges, I had no idea who the heck were. Randy, Paula, Simon. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and the other one.
The fourth one was the one that scared me the most. Yeah, she scares us the most, too. You think you did okay? Yeah, but I really need to tell you guys this. The fourth judge was the principal of my school. Are you serious? No pressure. Yeah. How weird. Utterly horrendous. Let us know how it goes, will you? Huh? Let us know how it goes, man, because you haven't got the grade yet, but let us know how it goes. You think you did good? I have a question, too. Sure. Go ahead, Ash. I was just going to say, was your principal being one of the judges, do you think that that helped or hurt your case, your presentation that you did? Well, at first I thought it was going to hurt, but after my presentation, when I asked her questions, she asked a question that was one I really knew about, and I thought it helped a lot. Oh, good. I was surprised when he said she right now. Really? Well, because you're sexist, that's why you're surprised. That's because I'm sexist. That's why I'm surprised. I'm a misogynist. Yeah, I'm a misogynist. Thanks for the call, Dark Zone. I hope it goes well. This is pathetic. All right. Thanks. This was Bruce. I've been seeing this woman for getting close to a year. You know, not quite. I'm divorced. I already have kids. She has been married before, but no kids. Lately, you know, we've been thinking pretty serious, and we both kind of like the idea of marriage, but the subject of kids is coming up.
And after my last marriage, I got a vasectomy. But I haven't told her this. Oh, man. Hey, Bruce. Yeah. When did you have the talk with her, Saturday or Sunday? Saturday. How'd it go? It went. Oh. Utterly horrendous. How ironic would it have been if she kicked him in the testicles? Restaurant, so that doesn't happen. So what happened? Well, I mean, we're still together. It wasn't like she said, you know, we both called it quits right there. But, you know, she was upset, and, you know, she was, you know, not, I mean, it wasn't like a crying fit, but she was definitely upset about it. I mean, in all fairness, too, it wasn't like, I never let her on. Like, even though this had been coming on, but while I, you know, when we first got together, it wasn't ever like I said, you know, oh, it's great, I can't wait to start a family again.
I mean, I was always lukewarm to the idea. Like, even when she brought it up, I was, you know, it wasn't like I, you know, I didn't shine her on. So she was talking about, you know, can it get reversed? And honestly, I don't know. I mean, if it can, I guess, I don't know if it can or it can't. It can. Of course it can. Yes, it can. You are a clown. Yeah, it's easy when it's not. You're nuts, I know. Well, it doesn't have to be mine to know that you can get it done. I mean, it can be done. It's not always a slam dunk. I mean, it can be done. It fails. We know somebody had it done, and it failed. We know somebody. I know somebody. Who knows somebody? What's their name? You said. I don't know anybody. You said. Does Eddie know somebody? What's their address? You said spider. Somebody knows somebody. Well, I'm just telling you what the doctor told me when he did it. He said it probably can be reversed, but there are some cases where it can't be. There are some cases where it can't be. Where, like you said, Mikey, it doesn't work. Where it fails. Yeah, it fails. They can attempt it, but it doesn't. It's not a guarantee. I mean, nothing's guaranteed. I heard it hurts worse. Regardless, I even told her, I said, look, we're both not kids anymore. I mean, she is younger than I am, but I'm in my... So you followed it up by calling her old. Oh, smart. Yeah, exactly. Those eggs, they are gross.
Genius. How old is she? Well, right now we're just kind of in limbo. I floated the idea of, well, we both kind of floated the idea of adoption. She's not crazy about it. I'm not crazy about it. Just because I don't want to raise any more kids. I have my own kids already. Be clear about that. Yeah, be clear about that. Let her know. And yeah, when people, when you start dating, talk about that stuff. And how old is she? She's like two, three, she's three years younger than me. She's going to have a birthday soon. She'll be three years younger. Right now, we're like four years apart. I hope she's not listening because women love it when you ask their man how old they are and they struggle to remember how old. He still hasn't said. I mean, I know how old she is, but I'm just saying our age difference because the way our birthdays are for a party year. Well, will you tell us how old she is? Can you tell us on the radio how old she is? It's not a hard question because we've asked. She's 38. She's 38. Well. Did you have to put frozen peas on it the first time? That's a legitimate question. Did you? Did you have to put peas on the boys the first time you had the snip? It's, yeah, you know, you, that's. And why peas? Why does everybody say peas? Like, why not frozen corn? Oh, Skye, hello. Do you have testicles or not, Skye? No, I don't. Why are frozen peas so much better than frozen corn? Skye, please. I don't understand. That's a ridiculous question. I just use a regular ice pack.
You did? Yeah. Wow, you are good. You're more a man than I am. You certainly are. I didn't put it right on there. I was wearing pants. I didn't have it direct contact. Yeah, I don't believe you. I believe you did. Petite peas for me, if you don't mind. Petite peas. Gentle down there. Feels real sore when you're walking around the room. Petite peas. I just put one radish on there. You just put one radish? Wasn't even frozen. That's just your fun time. That was highly inappropriate. Hey, no veggie tales around here. Thank you. Hi, Bruce. We'll see you later. Good luck. Good job with that. Good luck. Good luck, you. Bye. That's bad. I didn't like Bruce. I'm not going to lie to you. You what? I didn't like Bruce. You didn't like that? No, he angered me for some reason. I couldn't tell. I want to fight with him. I don't know why. Damn Bruce. Did you guys hear that the US Air flight crew got invited to the inauguration? Oh, wow. What?
Yeah, very cool. All five members of the flight crew. You know, if you didn't hear, the U.S. Airways flight 1549 crash landed, emergency landing into the Hudson River. Everybody on board survived, and everybody's talking about what a hero the pilot is for his quick thinking. Sully? Yep, Sully. What's up, Sully? So, yeah, all invited to the inauguration tomorrow. That's cool. Yeah. Al Davis is considering hiring their linebackers coach. This is the best. Eddie. Oh, I love this. Can't somebody step in like you do for your grandpa when he's too old to drive? Apparently not. You know when your grandpa gets to that age and you're like, Papa, you can't. No, no, no, no, no. Give me the keys. Give me the keys, Papa. Give him the keys. Come on, Pep, Pep. So Al's interviewing Don Martindale, who is the linebackers coach for the defensive coordinator job, but he just loves him so much.
He may give him that coaching job. He's so kooky, man. He is so, so kooky. Our phone number is 570-1053 if you want to give us a call. Hey, P1 Ham Wow wants to know, at the end of the show, you may have missed this, but P1 Ham Wow texted in. At the end of the show on Friday, Ayo calls in. He invites Ashley. to the movie to see My Bloody Valentine. And she's like, yeah, I ain't mad at it. I'll do it. And so when we come back, we'll ask, did you actually do this? And if so, how was it? So we'll do that when we come back. And also when we come back, this is kind of a trippy story, but Katy Perry, the singer, that chick that sings I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It, that chick was given an award and it wasn't meant for her. and it was very embarrassing because she had to get... And who it was meant for is a gigantic star, and we'll tell you who it is when we come back. Mikey's show continues on The Rock. Be Rizzle. Go me. All right. That's right. Go you. And Ash. I'm a laughy person. The Mikey Show's on. Oh, we are messed up in the head. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It's 717. Well, this is some positive news. Israeli troops began to withdraw from Gaza yesterday as part of a ceasefire. Tampa Bay shocks everybody and fires head coach John Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen. They named their secondary coach Raheem Morris their new head coach. Welcome back, everybody. Sometimes grace reminds me. It's the Mikey Show. You can call us at 570-1053. And you can text us at 35253. Give us a call. Okay, before we went to break, I told you that on Friday at the end of the show, that Ayo... Ayo! Ayo! Ayo had called in to the program. And when he did...
He asked Ashley if she would go see My Bloody Valentine. Oh, in 3D. In 3D. And Ashley said, yeah. Yeah, sure. Why not? And Ashley, did you go? Uh-uh. You didn't. I didn't go. You are a teen. What happened? What happened? Oh, well, you know, I, like, emailed him last night, and I was like, sorry. Like, I... I shouldn't have time this weekend. Did he ever get a hold of you? And did you ever have a plan? He tried, Mike, but I dodged him. What I did, Mike, is pretend I didn't get the email. Oh, I was swamped this weekend. It was, man. My sister was in town. Yeah. My mom came. You know, and various. I had a cook. I mean, there was some eating. I did. That's true. So it just didn't happen. Well, yeah. No, I mean, I was supposed to. He was like, if you want to go text me. But by that point, like I already had my weekend planned out. That's not good on his part. I I will be highly critical of that. I say, if you want to go make a plan.
Not if you want to go text me. I mean, because that leaves the onus on Ashley. And she's like, oh, I really want to go. Okay, I'm ready to go. I'm texting you. And, you know, come on. Girls don't want that. No, it's just friends, Mike. I know, but still. It's friendly. So you never did. I never did. And, yeah, I just, I just, I, yeah, I did. Uh-oh. That was a lot happening. I just, it didn't, it didn't. Oh, man. It seemed like a cool idea at the time. Well, like, honestly, I want to hang out with him. And we will hang out. And freaking Ayo, I love him. He's a great guy. So we'll kick it. We'll hang out. Eventually. Eventually. But it's, like, not necessarily on the top of my priority list. Like, this weekend, I already had other stuff planned. And I already had other things going on. And so I couldn't really fit it in. But it will happen. I gotcha. Before we went to break, I also told you that Katy Perry, the chick that sings I Kissed a Girl, she...
Got embarrassed because they gave her an award and it wasn't meant for her. That's awesome. This is so brutal. So this is an award show in France. It was called the NJR Music Awards. I don't know. Whatever. Big music award show over there. And she gets the award for best international song. Goes up, accepts the award, gives this big speech about. how this is the first award she's ever received and how much this means to her. And then about an hour and a half later, in between other awards, the emcee comes on and tells the crowd, we're terribly sorry. Oh, wow. But we made a mistake. It wasn't Katy Perry who was supposed to win the best international song, but actually it was supposed to be Rihanna for Disturbia. Oh, my. We hope Rihanna and Katie won't be too upset, and we apologize. We put the wrong name in the envelope, and we're very sorry, but Katie Perry will have to give her award to Rihanna. If you ask me, I say call it a day, man. Oh, well. Yeah, just let it go. Give them both an award. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Exactly. That's so brutal. Oh, that's... This text says, Mikey, I heard we're spending 100 mil on the presidential inauguration. Is that true? And if so...
Kind of ridiculous? That's P1 Wonderman. I don't know. I don't know what they're spending on it. They're probably spending a ton of dough on it. They probably always do. Yes, the argument that you can make is we're in a bad economy. Whatevs. You know? Evs. I got bigger fish to fry right now. I don't like it. I don't know what you spend it on. What do you spend the dough on? Like stages and security and port-a-potty. Miniature flags. Security for Barbra Streisand. All of that stuff. I don't know if you guys heard the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2009 got announced. Who's in it? Well, the big names are Jeff Beck, Run DMC, and Metallica. Metallica. Metallica. America, 2009. Very glad we got inducted. Shut up. Lars, no one asked you. You want to know who's missing from that list? Oh, no. Okay. This is your old Aunt Neal Diamond. I don't know why you're saying that. I've messed up aunt. Let me tell you something. What's up, Neal? You're not in? I should be in there, right? You should be. Yeah, absolutely.
I don't disagree. You know, my bookie Daniel told me I should bet the farm on getting elected this year. Oh, no. The problem is I did. I bet the farm. So, Maury, I can't pay you for a while. Oh, not Maury. He's the tubby guy in the blueberry back there texting people. You should treat him a little nicer. Hey, Maury. Tell your wife she's going to have to. Wait on that new hip, buddy. Oh, Neil. Can't you give him a little something? Yes, I will, Eddie. I'll give him exactly what I gave my third wife. What's that? Herpes. Neil. Disgusting. This microphone isn't on, is it? It is on. I'm hearing you. Reminds me of a song I once sang to orphans in the Catskills. Oh, really? They were all high on pop rockers and wild chicken. What? I think that means wild turkey. Orphans. I don't know. Eddie, I've never heard of this Metallica. Well, it's just Metallica.
The R&B band? No, they are not. Furthest thing from that. Oh, I love Motown. No, they're not Motown. No, no, Neil. You know, Eddie, some say I'm... Part black. Nobody says that, Neil Diamond. A lot of people do. It's all the soul that I have. People. People.com say it. Really? That's a pretty big magazine. He doesn't know. I'll tell you what, though. All those fine compliments won't get you out of harm's way. 3 a.m. in Harlem. Come out of your mistress's apartment. Again, you're on the radio. And you're not black. Part black. No. Just the good half. Okay. Neil. What is he talking about? I don't think he's on one today. You want to know what the real reason is that I'm not going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Why is that? All goes back to 1979, Eddie. Oh, yes. Here we go, Neil. It was a wonderful year back in 1979. Pick that axe. I was having a swinging time at one of those Hall of Fame after parties.
When I noticed that my fat manager, Maury, had eaten all the shrimp cocktail. Okay, well. Not again. Oh, no. Since then, I've never been invited back. You are a cow. Don't play this. My little chubby wig-wearing friend. No. You are so Viagra-smoking, you hog. Get this out of here. Get away from me. I've got to wait. Do this anymore. Oh, Neil. Write my big cup. Don't say that. Don't get the dough. No. Sorry I did that to you. Killed. Eddie. Yes. I once shared a box of weed with Burt Reynolds mustache. Wait, this is mustache? And a box of it. That's so weird. It normally comes in a bag. It normally does. High class gets it in a box. Oh, a box. Let me tell you something, Sky. That was one greedy mustache. Don't doubt it. I don't doubt it. It was like the ShamWow of weed. Oh, really?
Eddie once on the set of Smokey and the Bandit, he hid my ex-wife Alice in his mustache. Oh, really? Weird. I was trying to quit cigarettes at the time, and I was trying to smoke Alice. Okay. Justin, I don't even know where to start with that. You start from the end, you smoke to the filter. Well, forget it. All right, Neil. Speaking of, Sky, you know who needs a clinic? Who? Richard Simmons. That gal is really on one. I ran into her at a party once for Smokey Robinson. Oh, really? And she was wearing too much makeup. And she had on that crazy wig. She was wearing a blue Sports bra with glitter on it. And I felt so bad because I told her that she needed a boob job. And I thought it hurt her feelings. Well, probably did. Let's play a little song for the kids. Let's do this one time. What do you think? Need no stupid award. I got it.
I got a date with some vino and I'll tell you what. Tastes real good. Goes down like it should. I got a date with an ape and his name is Maury. Say it now, say it now. Maury robbed me, didn't you? You hit me right in the earlobe. I'm sorry about your earlobe and your elbow. Please be careful. Dangerous. I've never heard of Metallica. There's no R in Metallica. Chubby black guys that sing in harmony, right? No. White guys. Heavy metal. Who's in the band? You got Lars Ulrich. He's the little one, right? Well, yeah, kind of. James Hetfield. Let's do a song. Okay.
You like the back of it sequined? It says Neil. Yeah. Did you dazzle that? I did. Nice. So we know it's you. It's a great font. Yes, I did it in that font that you know it's me. We're confused. You ready to rock this house? My name's Neil Diamond. Welcome to the Cox Sports Arena. Let's do this, San Diego. Hi, Daddy. Lars. The little Danish guy, Lars. Dwarf. Oh, that's nice. Talk like you are from Mars. Man, I gotta go weird. Hands are tight. They don't really breathe. Oh, don't call me to be present. And every time my phone don't ring. Flip into depression. It's making me upset. Dex finger. My left one.
Serious injuries you're getting this morning. Ouch! My cerebellum! Oh, Zach kicked in. Yeah. What the heck is this? What's that blonde guy in there talking about? It went from elbow to cerebellum. Gee. How interesting. What's that teenager? What's that teenage boy in there with a sweat problem talking about? No, no, no. That's actually Richard Simmons. No, no. I blame. Let me tell you something. Okay. I blame the young judges who don't know who I am. If you're under 60, you don't care about good old Neil, do you? All you want to do is boot your Black Tom Microsoft Word, don't you? Let's get this straight right now, you bunch of young little hippies. Rum DMC.
No. Run. He's getting inducted, but not me, right? Yeah. You got to be named after vodka in order to get... No. Run. Run. Rum isn't vodka, but... Eddie. Forget it. Forget it. That's neither here nor there. No, it's not. What kind of dope shooting? Bong drinking. There we go. Bong drinking. Rum sipping. Yeah. Attics came up with that one. Oh. All right. I actually sing music, all right? I don't shout it at the top of my vodka-soaked lungs. Well, wait a second. Ew. And when my manager, Murray, hear this little tubby guy. It's Morrie. It's Morrie. He's been with you for 50 years. That's right. It's Morrie's Wigs. It's Morrie. Morrie. It's located on 5th and Arcadia, if I remember right. No, it's Morrie. It says so on his matching little cape that you've not made for him. Right on the back. Barely fits him. You can look up. She's talking to you. More like a bib. Well, hey. It's a lot that counts. Haven't been on the cover of Rolling Stone for years. Probably not going to be there anymore because there's a bunch of black dudes out there singing music with names like Rum DMC. You don't care about me because you're all young. Boners.
That's all you talk about nowadays. Get out of here. Bill of my cap. Is that guy still in there? Calls every morning that people will pick on Sky or Ashley or giving Eddie or Sean stuff. Every one of you are great. Thank you, man. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Who's ready to hear some fun facts about Geico? All right, let's give it a go, shall we? First. Four people were stabbed at an after party for the notorious B.I.G. movie. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. The Arizona Cardinals beat the Eagles 32 to 25 to win the NFC championship for the first time. They're going to the Super Bowl. Kurt Warner thanks the big man upstairs. You know, everybody's going to be tired of hearing this, but I never get tired of saying it. There's one reason that I'm standing up on this stage today. That's because of my Lord up above. Say thanks to Jesus. He knew I was going to do it.
Thanks to all of you guys. With nobody else. That dude's really excited. I wonder if in the United States we'll ever get to a point where the day after Super Bowl is a holiday. You keep saying it, bro. Every year. I want it so bad. It should be. I know it, man. Come on. Yeah, there you go. Yes. Right? I mean, let's do something that will make all Americans happy and that will. Come on, Bull Rock. Hey. It trips me out that some people don't care about the Super Bowl. That trips me out. Like, even if you don't like football, you should care, you know? Yeah. It's cool. It's a big day. It's real American, you know? Meat commercials. Yeah. Cool commercials. There's so much to like. There's something for everybody. Yes. Either the halftime show, the commercials, the game itself. Food. Hello. Dude, Super Bowl food rules.
favorite home snack? Home appetizer. House appetizer. I'm a big dip fan. I love a variety of dips. You roll the artichoke. I made homemade artichoke dip on Saturday, which was pretty cool. The guacamole is always great. Any jalapeno in that artichoke dip? I like it when it has some of that in there. Sky makes all of her dips homemade. Yes. She's famous for my homemade ranch. Yeah, she's great at it. What she does is... Yeah, it's so good. Oh, dude. Yeah. Put Sandra Lee to shame. No. So fresh. It's real fresh. Real fresh. You add, you know, fresh, I'm guessing cream cheese, right? Sour cream. Fresh sour cream. Make sure it's real fresh. And you make a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch packet sauce. Yep, the dip.
Just put it in there, and it's homemade. That's it? Yeah, you eat carrots. No, no. Oh, sorry about that, Scott. You've got to stir it up real good, and then you've got to put it in the fridge an hour before you serve it. And then, we also forgot, you've got to put it in a serving dish. Sometimes I crack a little pepper in there, just to get crazy. You know, without feeling really creative. Yeah, right. Yeah, it's so good. You know what always grosses me out when I see it, and then I end up liking it, is the brick. Of cream cheese with, like, preserves on top of it with Triscuits. No, no, no, no, no. It grosses me out when I see it. No, no, no, no, no, no. But it's delicious. If you get, like, a jalapeno jelly on top of it, please. That is my mom's specialty. Oh, it is so good. It is so good, Chad. Come on. I love it, man. So good. It's gross at first when you look at it, but it's delicious. Eddie, you still do those little weenies? Dude, I made them on Saturday. Hello. First time in the year. Toothpicks? Yeah. Delish. No, they classed it up, dude. They had these tiny little silver forks. Nice. Appetizer forks. It was awesome. Real sweet. Rob felt like a giant. It's like, oh, dude, full-size hot dogs? That's awesome. Okay, let's see. What have I not told you that's real big news? Oh.
For those of you that are old enough to know who this is, the dude that played the robot in Lost in Space died at 69 years of age. He died at 60. That's right. That guy? I think we may even have a clip of him. Cut 59. Danger, Will Robinson. Danger. There he is. That was from the newer one. That wasn't from the old one. Nice try. Nice try. Was it really? Yeah, there's no way. I know that voice. Danger, Will Robinson. Danger. I bet that's from the new movie. Yeah, that's from the new one. Lame. Boo. Eddie! I'm furious. You're furious. I'm furious. Did you know that Obama's popularity polls are going up since we're getting closer to the inauguration? He hasn't done anything yet. How bummer. He's been awesome. What has he done? Doesn't that count for anything? He rode a train, bro.
He's looked real good. Yeah, he has looked. Looks great. Excellent. Yeah, he gives good speeches. That's what he's done. He's been inspirational. Talks real nice. Talks real good. So his approval rating right now is at 84%, which is up two points from the middle of December. 84%. And up five points from the beginning of December. And other stats that came out of the poll, nine out of ten African Americans say that Obama's election is a dream come true. You know, Jimmy Johnson's... polls are up real high before every race, but you do have to do the race. You have to actually get out there and do the race. And then when people were asked who's going to actually watch the inauguration on TV tomorrow, they say virtually every African-American polled said they will watch and 57% of whiteys said that they're going to watch. Really? Well, we can include ourselves in that. I think we'll probably have that on while it's going on tomorrow. Oh yeah, Mike. I want to know what happens right after the inauguration is over. Like, does he go to the White House and start? Let me see. Or does he go, like... There's lots of parties and stuff. Yeah, you have a poem. They probably have those miniature wings. They have the miniature wings. At the higher class events. That's right. With a little silver forks. Special forks. There's going to be ten official inauguration balls afterwards.
And then unofficial ones. And then on Wednesday, they say the president, the vice president, and their families will participate in a prayer service at the Washington National. Get to work, man. Get to work, bro. She's enough of the party. Stuff to do. Come on. Make my loan. Start fixing stuff. And then there's a keg at 720. So Bush has moved out. And what, tomorrow? Like, are they living in there? Well, I know they're now in the guest house. They are? Yeah. Bush relented? Well, no, that was the plan because whoever Bush had in there, you know, was going to, like, leave at a certain time. College friend Phil. Yeah. Didn't get his deposit back. Yeah. You know what we mean. That's news to me. Hello. Yeah. Bunch of wild party animals. Okay. Oh, this is a weird story. This Tierra Santa. Okay. So this teenager went to TJ. Right, Skye? Is that the deal? Yeah, yeah. She's 19 years old. This 19-year-old teenager goes to TJ, puts a couple back. Well, according to sources, there was drinking going on in Tijuana, but, you know, tests him. What else is going on there? Yeah. No, she went there to price him upholstery. Yeah. Right.
But the police haven't officially... To buy a Winnie the Pooh ceramic. Yes. Yeah. She was out at Chiclets. She wanted to try the street tacos. Yeah. So she's like, I'll take a trip there at 9 o'clock at night. But for legal purposes, the police have not officially said she was intoxicated. All right. So what happened? So I guess she got into it with some of her friends in TJ and ended up... That happens every time. You're going to get into it with your friends in TJ every 100% of the time. No, that's my Bart Simpson piggy bank. There's never a time where you don't. Yeah. And so I guess she came home by herself and at about 1030 Saturday night lost control of her car and crashed her car into a tree in a residential area. And then what makes this story even weirder is, you know, I mean, I guess it was a pretty bad accident where she was trapped in a vehicle and took firefighters about a half hour to get her out and rescue her. Well, her mom comes to the scene of the crash and gets into it with police. What?
punches a police officer. And then the mom was charged with suspicion of public intoxication. Oh, boy. Yeah. So a witness to the whole accident describes what she saw. Cut 81. We heard a loud boom, and then we didn't know what it was. And we were very quiet and said, what was it? And then we said, oh, maybe some car hit another car. And then I opened the windows, and we smelled like tire rubber. And we saw a car smashed here. And I don't know how she got out of that car. It's unbelievable. They did a super great job getting that girl out of this smash. That car was like pancake. I defy any listener to not find that enjoyable. I defy you. I defy you. I defy you to listen to that and not enjoy and not enjoy. Maybe you should play it again. I probably should. Wow.
We heard a light boom and then we didn't know what it was. And we were very quiet and said, what was it? And then we said, oh, maybe some car hit another car. And then I opened the windows and we smelled like tire rubber. And we saw a car smashed here. And I don't know how she got out of that car. It's unbelievable. They did a super great job getting that girl out of this smash. That car was like pancake. I can say with 84% assuredness, that lady was yelling at her kids at Legoland yesterday when I was there. That's pretty good. Accents are fun. They are fun. Speaking of Legoland, you know what tastes good? Churros. They taste good when they're hot. Amen, sister. That's right. I'm the brother, you know. Someone should write a song about him. That's right. I think, yeah, I think somebody should write a song about those. When Rob gets here, we'll ask him. That'd be perfect. As soon as he gets here. Our text number is 35253. Eddie's slowly shaking his head, you know, going, hey, Rob, what are you up to right now?
Hold on, little sleepyhead. Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey, man. Give me a break. Hey, Mike, why don't you give me a break over here? I've got a case of the moon days. Yeah. And if you don't mind, keep it down. Thank you. Keep wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey. 35253 is the text number. The phone number, 570-1053. When we come back. We are going to play It's Not Hard to say goodbye to President White. Dude, it's our new song. Listeners are nuts about this. They have no idea. You have no idea. No idea. We're going to play it next. Oh, by the way, there's changes with the logo on Lost, which has been a bit, you know, that's been like a mainstay. Is that Lost logo? Apparently they're changing and Sky knows all about it. We'll tell you next. This is the Mikey Show.

Why are you giving away my zucchini bread? I'm sorry. You're dead. You're dead. You're dead. I'm sorry. Dude, go to Amco. Get ready for your line. Get ready for what? What did you say? Your line. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Get in there. Get ready to do this. You got an issue with your vehicle? Take it to Amco. And I'm talking, they do, see a lot of people are like, they just do transmissions. No.
They do oil changes and cooling systems and tune-ups and breaks. They do a lot. So, did he tell you you could have my... Yes, he did. All I said was, if Mike isn't eating his over there... You can eat the piece that Mike isn't eating. I haven't eaten it yet. That doesn't mean you can have it. You know what I'm saying? You're so dead. Giving away my zucchini bread. She's really upset, Mike. I like it. She wants food. God. You know how she gets. Hey. I'm sending him right now. I'll give you, I'll get for you. All right? I'll get for you. Food? Yeah. Hey, check it out. It's the Mikey show. Featuring Mikey. I love Maui. We don't care. We love it. I'm the most liberal accepting person. He's big. Very well behaved. Just eats his food. I'm just happy to have food. And Ashley. I will use an obscene amount of toilet paper. The Mikey show is on. It's kind of like a stink lineup. Sure, yes. Rock 105.3. Reports are the Jets will formally offer their head coaching job to Ravens defensive coordinator, Rex Ryan. Oh, really? Yep. Eddie was saying, though, man, that he's friends with who? Are you talking about the Raiders? Did you say the Raiders? No, no, no. The Jets. Oh, the Jets. Oh. Oh.
You are so ridiculous. I figured it out. I want you guys to make your predictions so that after we can go back and we can look at it and say... That's the first season. What do you think's going on, Skye? The island obviously went back in time. So it's in the same location, it's just back in time. When the islands didn't exist? Wow. Well, I took care of that. Skye's looking at Eddie right now like... dare you use logic in this situation. How dare you? How dare you? You just ruined my files. They're going to be on the island with all the original Dharma people. The island disappeared. Yeah. Where did it go? Back in time? Yes. When the islands weren't there? It went back in the time continuum. Before they invented islands. Does it make any sense? And it's overlapping. The island is gone.
Where did it go? You wait. You watch and you'll apologize. If that is the case, I'm going to say the same thing. What do you think? That doesn't make any sense. What do you think happened to it? Yeah, smart guy. I don't know. I know what happened. I know what happened. I have it. I have the answer. You don't even watch. I'm telling you, I have the answer. Mike knows nothing. I know. I know. And I'm going to call my shot. All right. Here's what happened. Global warming will come into it. Polar bears. Global warming. Oceans rose. Covered the island. That's why there was polar bears. Thank you. That's a better theory. Polar bears. You just wait and see. You just wait and see. You'll feel stupid. They changed the logo. They changed the last logo. What do you mean? That's a cool logo, man. Like just the letters, you know, L-O-S-T? Yeah, it's going to be a little different this season. A little pretty cursive. Yes. Calligraphy. Calligraphy. Yeah, you're going to have to look for it, but they say it'll still be those big block letters. But in the letters, if you look, you'll see buildings. You'll see like a cityscape.
in the letters very subtly, and they say that that is meant to illustrate that for at least the first part of this season, you're going to get a split between the people who are at home in the city and the people who are left behind on the island. And you guys still have no idea why some people are there and why some people are not. You don't know that yet, right? Why some people got off the island and why some... No, they showed us. No, they showed why they got off. What was it? They got rescued. Well, kind of. I mean, there is the Oceanics, whatever it is. Six. They somehow got off the island. But, you know, their lives are all jacked up because they got off the island. Yeah. So now they're saying they have to go back. Well, Jack is saying he has to go back, you know. Does anybody else want back there? Creepy. What's his face? Henry Winkler was his face. Ben? Henry Winkler. Henry Winkler. So close. The guy that played Fonzie was her reference. Henry Winkler. Henry Winkler. She was referring to Henry Gale, which isn't even his name. You're something else, lady. I'm a sky whisperer. Right? You speak sky. Ben. Ben. She's talking about Ben. I'm talking about the Fonz. Yes.
Oh, my gosh. Correctamundo. Thank you. But he's dead, right? Ben's not dead. Locke is dead. Locke is dead. Zed's dead, baby. Please. You want to hear It's Not Hard to Say Goodbye to President Bush? Oh, yes. Yes, please. This is only played on the air. Thank you. Me, me, me, me, me, me. This is only played one time. Yeah. This has only played on the air one time, and it was all the fellas on the show. Me, Eddie, Sean, Boston Rob, Zeth, we all went into a studio. Flounder did not crack a smile one time while we recorded this. Not one time. Just listening to Sean, how can you not? Sean's baritone in this song was fantastic. My favorite part of the recording session was Sean saying, hey guys, I don't know how to sing. Well... Yes. As opposed to the rest of us. Yes. Us professionals. So, enjoy. Yeah, that's right. Oh, yeah. Somebody's got some bad breath. This one's for the ladies. What's up? Oh, yeah. So goodbye to a guy who's not so small. He shot a guy in his leg.
Fantastic, right? Oh, you don't even stupid it. The Mikey Show is on. It's about to get all stupid. It's AT&T and the Funky Outer Space Bases. Bootsy Collins with... Device advice, baby. Hey, Bootsy. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, so remember, city, county, and state offices will be closed today. The Rams named Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo as their new head coach.
I like my Spagnuolo with one packet of Splenda, but that's all. I don't like to put more. I had a Spagnuolo last night, and I said, listen, you can't caramelize the top. I put Alfredo on my Spagnuolo. You do? I don't know what you're doing. I had some broccoli Spagnuolo. Oh, yeah. Good. Delicious. Did you caramelize it? I did. I asked him if they could put sugar on top of the broccoli. Oh, okay. And caramelize it with a torch. Okay. That's different. An Olympic torch, which was really weird. Yeah, well, it makes it crispy. 35253. That's our text number. This text says, Mikey, have you seen Skye's pick of her new kitty on her blog? Says, doesn't he look like one of the evil gremlins? Just a thought. Absolutely. She freaks out sometimes. I'm not going to lie. Sometimes she's a little bitchy. Mikey, comedian Jeff Dunham came to Cox Arena on Saturday and the worst case scenario happened for him.
Everybody in the arena kept shouting out the punchline to his jokes. What? The look on his face, priceless. Mikey, can Eddie blog his recipe for the spinach dip? His shepherd's pie was a hit, so I'm sure this would be delish, too. That's P1 Kung Fu. You know, dude, you might consider it just a cookbook. You know what I'm saying? We should do a cookbook. We should. Yeah. That was a show. Yeah. You know, we were doing a gift exchange last night with my family because everybody was sick over the holidays. So last night was the first night we get together. My dad got me a cookbook that he ordered from Gilroy that is like the Catholic League Association. The ICF? Is that what it is? The ICF cookbook? Yeah, dude. Holy cow. I was looking through it. Really? Good. And it's all these people that we know from Gilroy. Is my dad in there? He probably is. I think he is. Is he really? I'm not kidding. Dude. We were part of the ICF for years. Really? That's hilarious. Dude, let me tell you. These recipes were good. I saw a recipe for bacon-wrapped chicken, and I'm like, anytime you can wrap something in bacon, it's automatically delicious.
Speaking of bacon and putting stuff in stuff and weird stuff with stuff and when you have stuff, when it's got stuff in it. Well said. This is out of Boulder, Colorado. Cut 54. They're definitely not for the faint of heart, I would say. A Colorado bakery is putting pork. in their cupcakes it all started when the owners tasted a chocolate bar made with bacon and they loved it now they've got their own recipe here it is maple syrup is blended into a cupcake batter the cake is then baked and frosted with chocolate next it's time to add the key ingredient crispy and crunchy bacon you sprinkle it all on top of the frosting now the bakery says it's not for the faint of heart but customers seem to love it. People who want the bacon cupcake want a lot of bacon on their cupcake. I don't see a problem with it. Well, you know, there's a slight revision on it. Yes, I mean... If I may, make a suggestion. Been there, done that many times. Pancakes are good as well. Bacon pudding, bacon cereal, bacon anything. And with a side of bacon. Yes, I like bacon wrapped bacon, guys. You guys ever had ham cinnamon rolls?
To die for. It's not actually cinnamon rolls. It's just ham carved in the shape of a cinnamon roll. That's weird. I barely talk about it. Hey, guys, check this out. Mmm. Mmm. Somebody feed me. I'm so hungry. I'm a ham cinnamon roll in my mouth. Ham cinnamon roll. It's so good. You mean there's pork in this ham? Sky, your thoughts. What's funnier, the lines or her ignoring it? I love it. It's my favorite part. They're both really good. I can't decide. I won't dignify this. Are you done? Finished. Now to the news. Now the latest on Israel. Today in the Gaza Strip. Today in Gaza, there was a... In Gaza, there was a...
Israel is still at war. It began in Gaza. The Gaza script? The Gaza script. I love the Gaza script. I like the script. I know it all, bro. Today in the nation of Palestine. So flight 1549, the one that went down in the Hudson River. Martin and Tess Sosa were on the Today Show. Our show, too. Cut 53. Can you describe the impact? How severe was it? It was like a roller coaster. I mean, I can't describe it any other way. It was just like you see in the movies. It was a brunt impact.
And then the next thing we know is the water's coming into the cabin. So now we survived the impact. And then now it's like, well, what's going to happen next? I understand there was some chaos in that cabin after impact. People were just trying to jump over each other, jump over seats. Some people were actually going for their luggage. Which is exactly what they tell you not to do. Everything you're not supposed to do, people did. Was there any attempt once the doors got open and the water's coming in now, was there attempt, as you hear in the movies again, women and children first? That's debatable. I mean, I think a lot of people were very valiant and tried to help us through, but it's debatable. I stayed out of harm's way. I just started stepping along the passenger seats while everyone sort of stormed through the aisle. With Damien in your arms? Yes. How hard was it to actually get out of the aircraft? It was virtually impossible because the plane was sinking, and we actually were closer to the back exit, but they were sealing that off. Since if that had opened, the plane would have sunk more quickly. Good thing there's no distraction. Jeez, give the kid a bottle. Dude, apparently my mom now argues with the TV. My dad said that my mom argues with the TV. He said that she was watching that.
furious that the people from the Today Show were not giving him a toy to play with. She was so angry that they would not give that child a toy. And how could they not be prepared to give that child a toy? Obviously needs a toy. My parents made it the interesting observation that they thought that that guy, Martin Sosa, seemed bitter. That he seemed like he was a kind of, you know, bitter. Like, about what? Well, he was saying, you know, he's like, what Matt Lauer says, was it women and children first? It's debatable. It's debatable. You know, I don't know. I don't know. Some people were valiant, but I just, I don't know. It was like there was no, he was kind of like complaining. I would be kind of pissed too if I had a little kid in my arms and like, you know.
Dudes were pushing me aside to get out. Yeah, some big old dudes in your way because he's trying to get his luggage down. I would be very upset. Here was Martin Sosa on our show. We're talking to Martin Sosa. He was in the plane crash that happened yesterday in New York City. And at what point were you the most, through this entire thing, at what point were you the most frightened? It's hard to say. It all happened so quickly. It's, I guess, between the time of impact, right before impact, and then from the plane. And we knew we were going to be okay. Boy, that kid is going at it at all times. Fussy. Has a lot to say, that kid. Let's see. This is nice. DMX is speaking out. Oh, finally. He's really upset about Joe Arpaio, the sheriff in Phoenix.
Maricopa County Jail. He's really upset that he makes guys wear pink. Cut 49. This is not where I want to be, man. You know, I mean, jail used to be a place where it was like, I'll go there, you know, I'll be the life of the party. There's nothing. I'll live. It's good. This jail is ridiculous. It's disrespectful. Come on, pink? What does that have to do with being in jail? Why the pink? Man, it used to be like, you know, jail was fun and everything. And what is going on these days, man? I don't even like it anymore. Yeah, I don't even want to go. I saw it with my wife the other day. I was like, I ain't even going. Ain't my thing no more. Yeah, man. That is weird. I wrote a letter to Joe Pyle. I was like, till you clean that up, I ain't coming. Count me out. Count me, yeah. I used to love going to jail. Yeah, man, you used to be great. Racquetball, all kind of weights. What the heck? Three squares. It was good, man. Water slide. Water slide. Now pink. What? What's up, man? What? Change back to them powder blues. What do you mean?
Things look better. That's terrible. Getting to a day and age. It don't even make my eyes. Yeah, man. What's up? Are you flattering? That was an interesting take as well. Idiot. Ashley did not go see My Bloody Valentine. What was the number one movie, Sky? It was, what's it called? Paul Blart Mall Cop. Really? Wow. Really? Awesome. All the stuff that came out. Oh, Sean. Awesome. That movie looks funny. Million. Yeah. Sounds funny, too. Okay. Calm down. Here's the movie Star talking about it. Cut 64. We had the greatest time filming this movie. It was all of us in a Boston mall. Really, really loved this life and laughing every day, which is really important, especially when you're just eating, getting all your nutritional needs from a food court. So when you pack on 30 pounds during the filming of a movie, you want to laugh with your friends. And we did.
What else came in big, Sky? So, number three was My Bloody Valentine in 3D making $21.9 million. I wonder how the 3D effect is, if it's any good. I saw 3D movies when I was a kid, but it wasn't that good, you know? It's about the same. They have not improved upon that technology? Not really. Like, I went and saw Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D. Yeah? That was out just a few months ago. Of course. You did? Yeah, it was pretty good. It's a little hit movie. It's debatable. But I think that, you know, the 3D, it was pretty much the same, you know? It's like the glasses, you got to have them on just right, and you got to be, like, looking at the screen just right in order to get the whole effect, you know? Sky, go ahead. No, I was just going to say it has this weird tunnel effect, so the screen actually looks a lot smaller than it really is. That's brutal. Skye, you ever been to a 3D movie? No. Really? No, I think one time I tried to do some sort of 3D thing on TV. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They did do that. I remember that, but I don't remember what it was. Yeah, well, they're doing something for the Super Bowl. It's some new movie, right, that they're doing a 3D commercial for? Really?
Where do you get the glasses? Let me Google it. What next? I mean, what next? Am I already working today? You know what I mean? We can give a girl like half a break over here. Come on. Let's talk about the gazer strip. The gazer strip. Okay, here it is. Here's your details. Yes. Happy? Okay, let's see. Super Bowl to air the first ever 3D commercial. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Blah, blah, blah. I'm so bored. Yes. It will be the DreamWorks movie trailer for Monsters and Aliens, followed by a 60-second commercial from Pepsi. Detail, detail, detail. I'm so pissed off I'm doing this.
Now let me look for the glasses. Get your glasses in hell. Okay? Shove it. All right. My Google finger is so tired. The freaking holiday, people. Not getting paid double time for this, you know? They'll be available at Pepsi and Sobe displays at your favorite retailer. There. Are you happy now? Put it in your pipe and smoke it. Holy cow. Was it really worth it, Mike? Are you going to get your three-dimensional fix on, Mike? Are you going to run out and get a Pepsi, Mike? Yeah. Get some glasses. Oh, yeah, yeah. Just sit there, you and Becky and the baby. Watch a commercial. Oh, something jumped out at you. Oh, I'm so scared. Oh, better take a sip of your soapy.
I'm a little girl watching the Super Bowl commercials. Oh, it's flying right by my face. It's so fun, isn't it, Mike? Why don't you turn those 3D glasses on yourself? You have a high-power perception. You gaze at yourself. Why don't you do that? You see this finger in 3D, Mike? Look, it's right in your face, Mike. Put on your glasses. So the number two movie this weekend was Gran Torino making $22.2 million. And someone out there, someone is thanking me for getting back to number two. Had it not been for me. You're welcome, Clint Eastwood. Yes. You gruff old bastard. Take that, Dirty Harry. Yeah. Hope you're happy. And as I told you before, number one is Paul Blart.
Making 33. No. Mall cop. Yes, Paul Blatt, the mall cop. The mall cop. The mall cop. The mall cop. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Number 570-1053. We come back. Yeah, it's pretty crazy because, I mean, as you know, it's probably cheaper back there, the insurance back there, than here. Absolutely. Yeah, and it saved me $300. And, yeah, I'm pretty stoked. And I wanted to personally thank you. Dude, I think that's awesome. Did you go down and fill out your paperwork and all that yet? I did. I went out to the Escondido location. Very nice. They hooked it up, dude, and they told me to tell you what's up and all that good stuff. Was it easy?
It was way easier. It took me, like, two minutes on the phone driving down the freeway. You said $300 every six months, so $600 a year. Yeah, when it probably would have cost me, you know. It went up to, like, $800 after I got an accident from the ref, and then it went down to, like, $400 here. Congrats, bro. All right, thank you, dude. We'll see you. There's Steve. Steve or Steven, I don't remember. Listen, call AIS right now. 1-800-777-4AIS. 1-800-777-4247 or try their website, AISinsurance.com. Hey, it's Boston Rob from The Mikey Show. Some of you guys are just kind of putting a voice to the face. So I know that can kind of be weird and you're probably going in your head. I didn't know Mikey Mark had a half-retarded homeless cousin. Yeah, that's true. I'm here, so I'm doing comedy now. Mikey's show continues. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show 838. Well, this is embarrassing. Katy Perry was mistakenly given an award that was meant to be given to Rihanna. It'll be the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl. The Steelers, they beat the Baltimore Ravens 23-14. And head coach Mike Tomlin talks about the victory for the Steelers. Boy, great deal of emotion right now. Sense of accomplishment. Got a special group in there. Guys that play for each other. Don't want to let one another down. Excuse me. Don't want to let one another down. A tough battle today, as always.
when it's the Steelers versus the Ravens. I take my hat off to that group. They're part of the reason that we are who we are, because iron makes iron sharp, and that is a tough crew. Nice. Nice. I like that. I like Mike Tomlin. I haven't figured him out yet. What do you mean? I don't know. I don't know if I like the... Kind of like he's one of the guys thing. I don't know if I like my coach. Like a part of the team? Yeah. He's very player, you know. And I don't know if I'm cool with that. I kind of dig it, but part of me is like old school. You know, with the Tom Landry stoic, you know, standing there in his suit and tie. Something strikes me about him as likable. Oh, totally. You know, it's just weird to see the head coach chest bumping the players. You know, it's just weird for me. But, you know, he's a great coach and seems like a cool guy. Yeah, I don't know what it is. I don't know anything about him at all. But every time I see him, there's just something that strikes me about him as just kind of likable, you know. By the way, T-Rex is birthday today. Happy birthday.
Happy birthday, T-Rex. He's the best. That's right. I can finally have a drink legally now. How about that? That is special. Before we went to break, I told you that we were going to find out where three new red light cameras are in San Diego. Now we have one right by where we are, right? We have one on Arrow and Murphy Canyon. That thing goes off at the complete wrong times, too. It's so bad. Really? Like when there's nobody out there in the middle of the intersection? If I'm driving at 430, I'll be halfway into the intersection past the light. I'd already gone through the light, and I'll see it flash in my rearview mirror. Really? Yeah, it's weird. Well, they're getting more of them. Yeah, three new ones. Now, when they put up a new camera, you get about a month of a grace period where you'll just get a warning. But then after that, you can get a minimum fine of $436 if you get snacked by one of these bad boys. That's a lot. Yeah. Where are they going? Okay, so one is at Camino del Rio North at Qualcomm Way. Know where that is. The other one is Cleveland Avenue at Washington Street. Don't know. It's like Hillcrest. Hillcrest. Oh.
And then the third one is Claremont Mesa Boulevard at Convoy. Oh, that's a busy, busy area. We've sent Rob to do embarrassing things there before. For sure. So watch yourselves. All right, so check this email out. Tell me what you guys think. It says, Mikey Show, here is my issue. I have an eight-year-old girl, and I try so hard to shelter her from negative feelings, as I think most parents do. Last year, our next door neighbor went into a coma and passed away. She was 25. And my daughter, she was 25. My daughter knew her well and played with her son. This broke her world because she couldn't understand why God took her friend's mommy. Recently, my daughter's coach from school passed away from some random infection. He was 49. Again, distraught. She's made the connection between the two deaths and is really confused. In less than a year, she has had to face the reality of death twice. My wife and I try to establish basic Christian values. How do you teach an eight-year-old not to dismiss the good God scenario when she has seen already too many unjustified deaths? She's questioning the methods, and I'm having a hard time finding the words. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks, it's P1 Corman, which is the, man, let me tell you, that is, it's one of the toughest.
toughest things that I think that we have to face. And it's even more delicate because we're talking about an eight-year-old. I mean, when you're dealing with death, especially, you know, especially death in that way of a young woman that's 25 with a kid. It's hard because I don't think we fully understand it. That's the deal. I mean, at 38, it's hard to understand, let alone eight. Right. And when you're explaining it, To a child, you really have to be understanding of the fact that they can't process like we can process. They don't have the benefit of being intellectually the same as an adult. So they process things differently. And so it would be tough if you have an 8-year-old trying to explain a concept that, again, like I said, explaining it to a 58-year-old would be tough.
And you guys know me, man. I'm Christian too. And I love reading the Bible. I have that green Bible. You guys know I talk about called the Living Bible. And it was the first Bible I was ever able to read that made any sense to me. Because I didn't even know that there was different versions. I always just thought... the Bible that was like the say to that with like, I always thought that was the only, that was the Bible. You know, I didn't realize naively, I didn't realize there was different translations that like made it into easier talk. And so, um, I enjoy reading it. I really enjoy reading it. And it, it just, it fills my life. And, um, I think that that question is like one of the toughest questions that, that people face. Um, whether you're, Christian or whether you're Buddhist or whether you're atheist or whether you're, well, I mean, that particular question doesn't apply to atheists, but whether you're of the belief that there is a God, there is a struggle of, well, if there's a God, why would stuff like this happen? It's a terrible thing. And I've read a lot of books on the subject.
this very subject. I've read a lot of articles on this subject. And I think that it comes down to this. You know, there are many, many things that are beyond our scope. And no matter what, we all have to die. It's a fact of our lives that we all have to die. And I think that when you're talking to an eight-year-old, what a tough thing, you know? what a tough thing because nothing, um, you're not going to be able to say something that is going to explain it to where the, at the end of the conversation, an eight year old, a 38 year old, a 78 year old will go, okay, that makes me not upset, you know? Um, but I think, uh, I think the best, the best, uh, description of it, I've heard a couple of good descriptions of it. One was, um,
My friend Chris talking about his kid, his three-year-old, wearing the slippers outside when he first got the slippers. I wanted to go outside, but there was dew on the grass. And he said, hey, buddy, you can't take your slippers outside. And he started to kind of throw a fit. And he was, I think, thinking if I throw the fit, eventually dad's going to give on this one. He said, hey, buddy, I'm sorry, but I'm not bending on this one. You're not wearing those slippers out. And his son laid down. On his back with his arms splayed out and just was screaming and crying. And he said that, you know, at three years old, he didn't understand the bigger picture. And that at 39 years old as his dad, he did have a grasp of the bigger picture. And I think that it's that way for us in these sorts of losses. We don't, we can't understand it. We can't.
We can't understand why things happen. Because I'd be foolish to say that God isn't capable of changing circumstances and changing things. He's God. But what I do believe is that he has a much, much bigger understanding of a much bigger picture. And I can tell you that every trial that I have had in my life has resulted in something positive. For an eight-year-old, tough one to get their hands around. With a 38-year-old, you could say that to a 38-year-old and say, hey, listen, I know that this doesn't make sense. I know that this is extraordinarily painful. But at some point, this is going to create something beautiful inside of you. This pain that you're going through right now is going to create something really incredible. And you don't understand it right now. But at some point, it may make a little bit more sense. So I think that that I think that's where the basis that's the basis of of where I am in terms of the eight year old. You love them. You show them as much love as possible. You let them tell you exactly how they feel. You let them just pour out exactly how they feel and tell you how hurt they are. Because however they feel is OK and allowed. You know, there's no feelings that are, you know.
If somebody feels a certain way, you've got to let them feel it. But it's a tough one, man. It's a tough one. I want to hear your guys. I want to hear what you guys think. Well, yeah. I mean, it's, man, virtually impossible. But for me, coming from a Catholic background, I would just tell them that God sometimes takes people because he needs them. And we can't always be selfish and want them to be here with us because sometimes God needs them more than we need them. And, you know, and sometimes they take them, you know, God needs them when they're younger. You know, not only old people aren't the only people that die. You know, it happens to young people too. And so, you know, that would probably be how I... Now, did you lose somebody when you were younger and that's like what they told you? No, no, I didn't have to deal with death until my probably my 20s. Yeah. You know, which was lucky. Yeah. So, but no, that's just just how I would do it. It's tough, man. Eight year old. It's tough for them to understand. You know what I mean? Yeah. I mean, I'm always going to try to, you know, relate to them on their level and trying to, you know, explain it to them. It's hard, but, you know, that's what you got to do.
Sky, what would you say? Well, coming, you know, as a person who's not religious, you know, I would first, you know, explain to my child that I don't know what happens after death, but I believe that it's something beautiful. If you're a wonderful person, then there's wonderful things, you know. And to me, worst case scenario is you get a nice long nap and who doesn't like to nap, you know. So it's nice, you know, it's good, it's not bad. And if you're sick, you know, what comes after you die is better than being sick. And, you know, kind of like what Eddie said, you know, I believe a lot of our hurt is selfishness. And I would kind of explain that to my child. Like, you know, you're sad right now because you really miss this person. And that's okay. But this person didn't feel good. And now this person is feeling better. You know, they'll be gone. And that hurts us. And we're allowed to be hurt. But, you know, this person was suffering. And you don't want that person to suffer. I don't want that person to suffer.
As far as explaining untimely death and, you know, horrible, tragic accidents, you know, I don't have a good explanation. All I could say to my child is there are things that happen in this world that we don't understand and that don't make sense. Like, you know, when you stub your toe, you didn't do anything to deserve stubbing your toe and stubbing your toe hurts and you don't know why it happened, but it just does. And that's just part of life. And we just have to live and accept and move forward. Rebecca, my wife, she had this interesting thing that she said. She goes, you know, what I might say is I might try to make it something that maybe an eight-year-old would understand. She said, like, maybe I would say, you know how when a baby needs to have their diaper changed, she said, they need to have their diaper changed, right? And she said that hopefully the kid would say, yeah, they do. And she would say, well, why do they need to have their diaper changed? Because if they don't, they're dirty. You know, they'd be dirty and they'd be in all that. And she said, exactly. She said, but the baby doesn't really get that part because it's a baby. All it knows is that whatever's happening is uncomfortable and they don't like it. And she said, but, you know, we know, we do know better where adults were their parents. And that kind of, that might be okay, you know, because it kind of does put it in a way that a kid could maybe understand. Rob, what would you say?
Oh, man, this is tough for me. This hits home because I lost my uncle and my grandfather within two years, 87, 88. My uncle, drunk driver, an accident, hit a tree, died. My grandfather, freak accident, went home. He was working with my dad and something like his bladder or something burst like that day. And I was at the hospital. And I mean, I was like five and six. Yeah, I was like five and six. So I just remember panic and people freaking out and no one really explained what was happening. I just remember not seeing them, you know. So if you were faced with an eight year old with these questions, what would you say? I really think you have to address it almost like you're.
Not exactly addressing an adult, but they have to understand what, like, there can't be any... Ambiguity. Yeah. You have to let them know what is going on. Because for so long, I didn't really understand. And I remember seeing my dad, like, you know, stand on the porch very sad. And he would kind of talk to me how he missed his father, but there was never any explanation, you know? And I guess it's because we don't really know. But now, you know, being a Christian, you kind of got to explain, you know, that this life is only for so long. And a big thing for me, because, I mean, it feels like it didn't matter what stage of my life. Like when I was, you know, 5 to 10, when I was about 11, I lost another close friend who would babysit me all the time. And then when I was like 18 or 19, I lost another best friend from high school, overdosed on heroin. And then two other of my friends did the same thing later that year. And then right when I moved out here, my dad killed himself. And there's one common theme that I've always taken from it. And no one's ever said this to me, but we're all survivors. Everyone on this earth right now is a survivor. No matter how you want to look at it, we all lose people. And I guess our job is kind of to move on with their memory. And that's what you kind of have to take away from it so there isn't so much pain.
And somehow I would try to convey that, you know, that the time that you had was what you got to look at. You know, you have to explain that they're gone and you're not going to see them again. Like that is so important because I never, that was never explained. There are still times this weekend I had like four or five times where I almost called my dad. I got his cell phone number memorized and I almost called him. And no one has really even even at this age, you know, it was never explained to me young. So to me, there's still something in my mind that doesn't make it permanent. You know, and I think that's that's key for, you know, anyone that has to deal with death to really grasp, you know, that, yeah, you have to say goodbye now. But, you know, we live with our memory. So somehow I don't know how. I don't know. I'm not that great with kids, but I would try to work that in. P1JDogg. Our phone number, by the way, 570-1053. J-Dogg, you there? Yes. Go ahead, man. Well, I myself personally am an atheist, but I was raised as a Methodist, so I do understand Christian theology pretty well. And what I've found is the best way to teach a kid about death is to make it seem like less of a loss.
for them personally make them a little happier about the passing and one way that i found is really good to do that is to explain to them that god needed that person for some specific task they needed that person to do something for them up in heaven and so by telling them that and then add in you know they're in a better place they're in heaven they're guaranteed to be happy and they will always be watching over the people they care for that tends to make it easier for a child to accept. Sky. Well, but now you said you're an atheist, so what would you tell your children now? Well, as an atheist, it's a lot more difficult to explain something like that. At that point, you pretty much just explain it's something that happens. You know, I personally couldn't really explain any sort of an afterlife to them, my children. So what would you say? Well, it would also have a lot to depend on my wife, if she had a religion or not, because if she had a religion, I would allow my children to take hers, whatever it is. So I can't really give an honest answer on that. Why would you do that, just out of curiosity? Why would I let the kids take my wife's religion? Yeah. Well, you know, as a child, religion isn't necessary.
I don't view it as a good or bad thing. It's something that would help give structure to a point, but at the same time, it's something that I feel eventually needs to be a personal choice. Well, why wouldn't you explain to them at least your theology? Well, that's something that I would do at a later date. Once they're older, they know more about whatever religion my wife is, and they start to think about things on their own. That would be the time, you know, once they're pushing their teens. So when they were little, you would teach them whatever, like, let's say, for instance, that your wife's religion was Christianity. Okay. When they were little, you would teach them about Christianity? I personally wouldn't teach them. Okay, you would allow your wife to teach them? Yes. I would allow them to go to church. I wouldn't have any problems with that. Now, when they were little, why wouldn't you explain to them that there is no God?
well, there's no proof one way or another that there is or isn't. So I can't say there is no God. All I can say is I don't believe there is. Wow, I think you just made progress yourself. That was awesome. That was really cool. What just happened right there? Well, why? I don't get why that's cool. He still chooses to believe that there is no God, and that's his belief. Well, that's all religion is. All religion is is a belief. Yeah, he says he can't prove it one way or another. But I don't think, you know, any atheist claims to prove, you know. Yeah, I think a lot of atheists think that, you know, it's there's like evolution and, you know, there was no God and that it was all just an explosion. You know what I mean? Which is fine. I always just thought it was a belief. But I wonder, you know, it just was interesting to me. I was like, well, you know, if you're going to teach him, if the wife's going to get her shot at him.
Why wouldn't you have a shot at him, too? Well, I think with any child, you don't want to give children mixed messages, you know, so you kind of let them go down whatever path you and your spouse decide on until they're old enough to understand mixed messages and to sort that out on their own without throwing them into a tizzy. So later you would say, hey, you know, mommy's taught you this thing, but I just want to let you know, like, daddy does not believe that God exists. Well, chances are I'd approach it more as a question, you know. Do you believe in God? Do you believe in what you've been taught? That sort of thing. And, you know, whatever their answer is, you have to go from there. Because chances are the kid's going to ask, Daddy, how come you never go to church? Yeah, exactly. How come you wouldn't teach them first your theology? Why wouldn't you teach them your theology first? Why wouldn't you first teach them that there is no God? It's probably easier to go from believing in a God.
to no God than from no God to all of a sudden there's this one all-powerful being that can do anything and everything. It's easier to explain to them that there is some magical thing, right? And then go, actually, there is no magical thing than there is to say, hey, none of that exists. And then later, them find out, wait a minute, something does. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, I agree 100%. That's interesting. All right, dude. I appreciate the phone call. That's J-Dog. These are interesting, interesting perspectives. What do you guys think? 570-1053. How would you do it? What would you say? How would you explain it? That's a big thing to have to explain to anybody, let alone an 8-year-old. 570-1053 is the phone number. Our text number, 35253.

On the right, it's been an awesome one I meant to say this morning. Nothing's slowing you down. I haven't seen this. I can't remember the last time I saw a commute where there was hardly any accidents at all and just pretty much up to speed.
throughout the entire morning commute, and it remains that way. So enjoy it if you're out and about just for a beautiful day as well. The border weight has gone down as well to only about a half an hour at San Ysidro. Don McLauren's on Rock 105.3. It's the stupidest stuff that makes me laugh. Can't see San Diego's Rock. My Mikey moment. We're talking to Martin Sosa. He was in the plane crash that happened yesterday in New York City. And at what point were you the most through this entire thing? At what point were you the most frightened? It's hard to say. It all happened so quickly, but I think it's, I guess, between the time of impact, right before impact, and then from the plane. And you knew we were going to be okay. Mikey's show continues.
Mikey Show. It is 9-16. Kevin James' new movie, Paul Blart Mall Cop, was the number one movie this weekend, making $33.8 million. World Series MVP, Cole Hamels, inks a three-year extension worth $20.5 million. Our text number is 35253. This text says, Hey, Mikey, I was thinking, you think J-Dog could maybe be agnostic instead of atheist. That's P1Z. Could be. It could be. I don't know. That would be J-Dog's call. Hey, Mikey, that was the song that you started, that you just started to play. What was the song that you just started to play at the end of the last break? It's P1 Chris. Let's see. 38 Special. Was it 38 Special? Or it could have been Foghat or... I think it was Grand Funk. Was it Grand Funk?
Grand Funk Railroad. Yeah. Was it this one? Was that what we played going into break? I think so. I can't remember what I play, honestly, from one break to the other. I don't. I don't remember what I played one break to the other. I'll sometimes get emails from people. They'll be like, dude, what's that song you played last Tuesday? It was that song and it was talking about wheels. I'm like... You know, it goes like... Yeah. Wheels. Wheels. Yeah, and it's like a dude, you know? Yeah. Singing. He's got like a band. Yeah, what's that song you guys played last Tuesday with the dude singing? Yeah. It's like instruments and stuff? Yeah. Yeah. Sounds good. Well, if it was this one, it's Cutlass. It's this same band. Dixon. Help him. That's fantastic. I love it. Let's see. This is great. We're getting all kinds of texts. You can text us at 35253. Call us, 570-1053. When we went to break, I said we were going to come back and I was going to tell you about the new fad in Taiwan for coffee. Oh, whatever it is, it's going to be so delicious. Sean, listen up. Yeah, Sean's going to be a fan. Well, in Taiwan, they're taught. You are correct.
Get out of here. It's like new releases all over again. I know, right? I didn't know. Sorry, Sky. Sean telling us that Max Payne's coming out tomorrow. Sean, man. Wait a second. Sean was the one. Sean said the fault, but you said Spider. No, no. Go ahead. Tell the story. Go ahead, Salty. Tell him the whole thing. You got it. They put mint in there? Go ahead. Taiwan does what? Hey, Sean. You are the worst. I'll be over here, all right? Is she going to tell us? Why should I? It's hard to be now. It's a point. All right? What the point?
A salty dog over here apparently has it all covered, right? Go ahead, salty dog. Tell everyone what they put in there. Oh, you already did. Thanks, Johnny Blu-ray. There you go. That's it? That's the story? Well, I had a whole lead-up to it to tell you about the coffee shop and how big it's become and beat out Starbucks there and all those things they do. But what's the point? And then you get to the conclusion of the story, which is the salt. I already heard that part, though. That's the point. I mean, Sean went there first. So now fix it. It's too broke. There's no putting this one back together. Not enough super glue, bro. I got the salted coffee. You happy now? Salty latte. There you go. You see salt, great.
Really? Sea salt? Tell me more, Seth. Don't you play KB Seth. Oh, really? I get that? I get to tell you that those are... Oh, okay. Sea salt. Wow. Now it's a story. Yeah, expanding into time. Great. Hope you're happy. Salty coffee going into China? Yes. Wow. Really? What kind of salt do they use, guy? I already told you. I just said it. Knock your face off. I'm sorry. It all started with that stupid Bruce and his vasectomy. He's still mad. She's too mad all morning. She was so irritated with Bruce. That's why she's on one today. You ruined my day. Oh, I don't know if it's reversible. She got so irritated. It was weekend worry war, right? And we were talking to this guy who on Friday said he's dating this girl and he hasn't told her yet that he had a vasectomy and he knows she wants kids.
So we're talking to him, and it was kind of irritating. He goes, he says, you know, they say you can get it reversed. I'm not, you know, I don't know if that's true, but. I don't know if it's true. And Skye goes, it's true. Stupid. My favorite was when he didn't know his gals, how old she was. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That really irritating. And he's like, well, you know, she's three years. Yeah, three years younger. Where's my abacus? Yeah. Carry the one. Oh, forget it. Whatever, she's old. I'm so angry at Bruce. Sky was out on him. But you're wearing a great t-shirt today. Thank you, thank you. I have my Bluth original Frozen Banana shirt on. Oh, that's awesome. Thank you. Oh, that for you Arrested Development fans? Mr. Manager. That's pretty funny. Now one person works in the fantasy. That's right. Well, there's only one guy. So I need to be the man. George Michael's normally the one there. I know you like him. I love him. Sometimes maybe visits, but then the sexual tension gets too. Shut up. Don't make Eddie met you. Remember the time Job set on fire? Anybody? Anybody? Hey, that one goes out to you, seven. All seven of you. I hope you love it. Enjoy. Yummy, yummy, yummy.
Speaking of yummy, talk to me about this. Jay, our promotion director, gave me some chicken eggs because he has chickens. We have to hear you talk about these eggs. One more second. Thank God this has been off the air. Now you're making this on the air? What is he talking about? Sean. Oh, it's so weird, Sean. So Jay, I guess Jay lives on a farm or something. No, no. You don't understand this guy. No, he doesn't. He's punching possums. Yeah, he does too. I've heard that. He's crazy, man. Composting and growing all these vegetables. But he's got chickens, and him and Jay, all they talk about is these eggs that these chickens lay. I'm going to get chickens. I'm going to get chickens. You are not. You live in the big city. Hear me out. You live in the big city. Hear me out. You're not getting chickens. There is no way. You're not getting chickens. I think you should. Stop it. Dude, Rob. Let's hear him out. It's not hard. You get. It isn't. It isn't. They take care of themselves. It's like a cat.
Cats do not take care of themselves. I've had a cat for three years. They need to be fed. You need to clean up after them. Where are you going to put them? In the side yard. No. Your spas? You're going to put them in the spa. They'll be really relaxed. Are you going to build a coop? I'm going to build a coop. No, you're not. You're going to pay Rob to build them. Who is going to clean up after a chicken? You put hay. Ew. I talked to Jay about it. You put hay. And you just let the feces just hang out for years. No, the hay makes it disappear. It's magical hay. You're telling me a big fat lot. Listen. This is ridiculous. It isn't hard. It isn't hard. You're not getting chickens. I'm going to get them, dude. And I'm going to eat you guys eggs. No, I don't want them. I'm going to bring you guys eggs. I think your aquarium is enough for you. I think that's all you can handle. We're buying a cow, too. No, don't be dumb. We're going to get a half a cow. Come on, don't get crazy. With what, your magical beans? How dare you? What are you talking about? Dude, okay, listen. What are you talking about? You're getting a cow. You live in the city, bro. Yes, you're getting a dolphin, too. Okay, get it.
I got my eye on a kangaroo I've been wanting. You can buy beef by the quarter or half or whole, but we don't need whole. What are you talking about? You can buy beef in the grocery store. Check it out. That's what Shauna said. I go, hey, Rebecca's really interested in organic food, and she really, really wants us to, and it's cheaper if you buy it to half a cow. And she goes, You know what, Mikey? I know a place you can buy a cow. It's called Buns. And they sell it there. Yeah, dude. Iowa meats. Real fresh. Real sweet. Come on. You should be in on this. No antibiotics. No, I'm in on this. I don't get it. So how do you go pick up your meat? You slaughter it yourself? No, they do it. They do it. They process it. Yes. They process it, and they ship it to you. And you get a freezer, and you put all the stuff in there. You get a freezer? Where do you get a freezer? You can buy freezers, Scott. Well, I wouldn't assume. Your issues with the freezer? Where do you get a freezer? What? A freezer? What is this, sci-fi? I'm out of here. I can't take it.
You're so stupid. Bonnie Boo, Mike thinks you can buy a freezer. A freezer? What are you, from the North Pole? You're a futuristic robot. You can't own a freezer. Oh, my God. That's not what I'm saying. What are you, an android? Yes, Mike. You put a whole... Freezer! Okay, Ripley. Ripley. That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying so now you have to buy a freezer to store your friggin' cow? Like, please. Honey, Sky thinks we can't get a freezer. I don't think we can do this. You have to buy a freezer. Yeah, you get a freezer. Leave me alone. Oh, it's so economical. You save all this money. You buy a friggin' freezer.
Oh, my gosh. The meat thing I'm in on. I'm all right with that. It's supposed to taste good. Owning chickens is stupid. Well, I think owning chickens is cool. Mike owning chickens is stupid. Please. Chicken is cool. Freeza, what? All the energy you're going to drain. We're going to put it. Oh, I got a garage rater. I'm one of those people. By the way, this coming from the woman that wants to buy a $100,000 electric car. You know what I mean? Because you save on gas. You get solar panels. $100 billion. $100 billion? Yeah. Hey, it's the same thing in the long run. In the long run, you got to calculate. That's right. And you would come up in the negative, bro. No. After I did my calculations. Dude, come on. You eat 400 pounds of beef this year. It'll be great. You made it, man. Real sweet. Come on, real sweet. I'm sure Frogs Fitness is all in on that. Hey, that was the other benefit. It's leaner. It's leaner. It's leaner. The seven free-range chickens were roaming around on the five freeway. Oh, dude, I forgot to close the coop.
I got my eggs and I forgot. You're not doing chickens. No, you're not. Rebecca won't let that happen. She was upset about it. I guarantee you, you guys are all going to be building coops as soon as you see and taste my omelet. Hey, Matt, you there? Yeah, I'm going to make you a beef omelet. You're going to love it. You have four chickens? I have four chickens. You're good, man. How'd you get your coop? Where'd you get your coop? Coops or us? Coops and tubes? Hello? Who's the man? Mikey? Hello? Never called in before, but I love your show, and you guys rock. Oh, that's awesome. King Henry, why are you looking so sad? My fourth wife is making my life miserable. I don't know. It's her thing. I don't like it. It's my new thing. Happy Martin Luther King Day, Eddie. Thank you. And finally, somebody had to say it. I mean, the only African-American guy on the show, nobody's even had the common courtesy to say happy MLK. Thank you, Mike. You too, Skye. Wait. And Ashley, 1.00001%. Now you go. Congratulations. She's in. 5701053. We're still looking for somebody, Oates? Come on, Oates. Crying on the phone. Let's go. Stop crying.
What do you think he's crying now? Somebody probably scared. Come on. People get scared. Yeah, man. You know, some people get... And they cry. We're all different. Yeah. We accept all kinds here. Crying, you know, or not. You're making it worse. Bubbering now. Oh, he is looking at you right now, this guy. With a look that did... What's that look for? Somebody's going to get her head crushed today. That's right. Oh, no. During the Mikey Minute. No. Come on, odors. Buckeye's waiting here, man. He's like, let's get this show on the road. Yeah, Buckeye. Let's get this guy to five points and call it a day. Yeah. There we go. P1 Gabby. Good morning. Oh, man.
How are you, Gabby? I'm good on my day off, celebrating a little MLK. There you go. Oh, you're worth it. How old are you? Did I actually just say you're worth it? Yes, she did. She is. How old, Gabby? 29. 29. How long have you been listening? Gosh, I'd say about almost two years now. All right, cool. All right, you ready to do a little P1 trivia? Let's do it. All right, Buckeye, we're starting with you, and you get a one, two, or three-point question. What do you want? I'm going to start with a two, Mike. You got it. Where did Ashley go to college? Oh, no. Can I steal? Right. SDSU. That is correct. Wow. Thank God. Wow. No. No. Yeah. SDSU. Yes. You are correct. She went to SDSU. She was actually on the dean's list at SDSU. Oh, wait. And was an English major. I don't think that's right. Incorrect. English minor. That can't be right. I want to double check. P1 Gabby? Yes? You want a one, two, or three-point question? Let's start with a two-pointer. You got it. You got it. Your two-point question is, what cartoon character do we compare Zeth to? Oh, great question. Charlie Brown. That is correct. We do. Eddie, you were the one that began to call him Charlie Brown, and what was it? He's a lovable loser. Yes.
You know it, I'll take that. It's like sunshine everywhere, but raining over Zeth. That's right. He somehow seems to get himself into trouble all the time, or arrested. He's a blockhead. That's right. You blockhead! See? Come on, Charlie Brown. Ashley has that football there for him every time. That's right, and then pulls it. Pulls it away. I'll never give it to him. Buckeye, what are you doing? I'm going to go Robbie style and end this one with a three. Look at you. I've got to do that. Look at you. So scary. Let's see. Man, some of these, there's no way. Come on, Mike. All right. I'm going to find you one that's going to work. I'll find you one that's going to work. Okay. Oh, oh, oh. What? His name is Buckeye. That's what I said. No, you said oh. Oh. This one's tough, man. Mike, stop being so judgmental. It's tough.
Do it, man. All right, fine, fine. What is the name of Skye's new kitten? That's tough. Should I skip it? It's too tough, right? You said it today. All right, we said it earlier this morning. I'm sorry, I don't know that one. The answer is Dito. Well, baby Dito. Okay. She was found in a shed in Escondido. She's Calico. She's a tiny little girl. I'm telling you about the blog. I have these on my blog. It's still here. There's no difference. There's not a difference between turning the mic off and turning the mic on. Why are we spending money on that mic? There you go, Clear Channel. We paid rent on that thing for us. Hey, Mike, you're fired. I may be hearing that soon. Hey, Mike, you're fired. Thank you. It's going to be a bad day. It's going to be a bad day for you. It's back over to you, Gabby. What are you going to do? I'm going to try to end it with a three-pointer. Everyone is so brave today. No, look at you. It's a day off. It gives you, you know, courage. That's right.
What show member did Skye re-gift from this Christmas? In other words, this person gave Skye a present. She re-gifted their gift. It was Eddie because she gave the bottle of wine with a gift certificate to Bezmo to the sister-in-law. That is correct! What happened to Eddie? Nobody. Skye, what happened with that? What? Hey, congratulations, Gabby. You won. And Buckeye, you did awesome. You can come in, too. You did a great job, Buckeye. Hey, hang on, you rascals. Hang on a second.
