The Mikey Show spent Barack Obama's inauguration morning mixing genuine awe with relentless bits, from Aztec Raider explaining what the first Black and mixed-race president meant for his children to Mikey and Eddie mocking the oath's awkward delivery. Eddie and Skye repeatedly clashed over whether Demi Moore and other celebrities were sincerely inspired and environmentally responsible or merely wealthy performers advertising easy pledges. The crew also staged Eddie's delay-plagued report from Washington, bungled P1 Password, debated Anquan Bolden's role, and learned Skye's calendar system. Later, Barbara spun an absurd suburban-gangster history, while UCSD's growing game festival and The Bachelor prompted riffs about retro games, rejection, and reality-TV manipulation.
What happened, in order
Demi Moore's inauguration emotion
Eddie ridiculed Demi Moore's emotional description of Barack Obama's inauguration while Skye argued that a wealthy white celebrity still had every right to feel inspired.
A mixed president changes the answer
Caller Aztec Raider said Obama's election meant he could honestly tell his Mexican and white children that they could grow up to be president.
The Anquan Bolden mystery
Eddie called Anquan Bolden's sideline anger a needless distraction after an Arizona win, while Mikey theorized that the Cardinals were saving Bolden as a surprise Super Bowl weapon.
P1 Password chaos
Eddie and Mikey unexpectedly swept their P1 Password round, but Ashley and Zeth collapsed after clues such as 'bake' and 'opposite' failed to produce 'cook.'
Inauguration diaper math
The hosts calculated that 5,000 portable toilets could not serve as many as three million inauguration spectators and mocked reports that some adults planned to wear disposable briefs.
Skye's calendar system
Skye taught the chronically forgetful Mikey to reserve tentative plans with question marks and enter appointments immediately, prompting him to explore automatic reminders for Rebecca.
Eddie reports from Washington
The show pretended to teleport Eddie to Washington and turned an exaggerated phone delay into a deliberately disastrous inauguration interview.
Hollywood's green pledges
Eddie and Mikey dismissed celebrity promises to plant trees, conserve water, and buy hybrids as rich-person posturing, while Skye defended the pledges as useful inspiration.
Obama takes the oath
The crew listened live as Barack Obama took the presidential oath, then fixated on the halting exchange and immediately started a 'hope' counter for his address.
Barbara's suburban gangster saga
Barbara celebrated the first Black president by inventing an escalating street legend involving Biggie, Tupac, Lou Gossett Jr., a Rancho Santa Fe HOA, and mascara stabbings.
UCSD Game Fest takes off
Skye reported that UCSD's Winter Game Fest grew from 30 attendees to 1,500, after which the crew acted out increasingly frantic rounds of Frogger and Donkey Kong.
Eddie analyzes The Bachelor
Eddie defended watching The Bachelor as a study of rejection and cattiness, then argued that producers were keeping an emotionally volatile contestant for television drama.

clock this morning, Barack Obama will be sworn in as our 44th president. Well, it was a big matchup in the NBA last night. It was Kobe Bryant versus LeBron James, and it was Kobe coming out the winner as the Lakers beat the Cavs 105-88, even though Kobe dislocated his finger. Ew. Pop it back in during the game. Are you serious? Yeah. Dude, that's... Did they say which finger? It was his index finger, I think. What seems more painful to you guys, index or pinky? Pinky for some reason, but I don't know why I say that. Seems a lot more sensitivo. It's hard to say. Index. Really? I'm thinking something about pinky where I just think that the nerves would be hopping, man. The joint's bigger than the index, though. Yeah? You probably have to use your pinky, though, more in basketball. Yeah. What about us just in general? If you had to choose. One of your, you're going to get, you're going to get dislocated, Eddie. Which one's getting dislocated? The index or the pinky? Index. You say, you say, take my index. Yeah. Dislocate it. I think me too. Cause I think the pinky, I don't know why I think that pinky is going to hurt. So like, imagine them going or going, which one's going to be worse. I think, I think pinky would be the worst. Like crazy. Uh,
This is what you can expect on the Mikey show on the morning of the inauguration. Yes. They are saying two million people out there. That's crazy. One and a half to three million people. That what? Anywhere from one and a half to three million people is what I read. That is, you know, it trips me out because you go, well, that's the population of San Diego, you know? That's the population of Sandy, the entire county, all the different counties. Imagine all those houses that you see as you're taking off from Limburg Field. And imagine every one of those people all in one place. That's crazy. And the entire county. That's three million. That's a lot of people. It's cold out, too. Yeah, it's cold. And I get that this is extremely historic. I mean, I'm really excited. I mean, really? Like, you're going to be at the very back of three million people? Like, what can you see from back there? I guess, honestly, that is just about so that 15, 20 years from now, you say, I was there that day, you know, right? Oh, man. You know, I didn't see anything. Yeah, I saw the back of, you know, a million people's head. Yeah. I didn't see anything, but. I yelled out change. Yeah. I was there to yell out change.
It's exciting for me, too. I'm not a dem, but I'm excited. It's a new thing. And so I'm excited just to have there be a shake-up. That was interesting. They just showed a black dude in the audience wearing a throwback Terry Bradshaw jersey. Really? A white quarterback. Now, that doesn't make any sense to me. I'm sorry. It's just I don't get it. You can wear an LT jersey. We don't need to. I know, but I mean, if you're going to be out. There's no reason for that. Yeah, what's up? Are you still mad about Bruce? A little bit. There's a little bit of Bruce left? You better believe she does. You look gorgeous with that headband. Thank you, Mike. It's not going to make up for the wrongs of Bruce. It does. You really like her forehead. Is that what it is? I think it is. It gets very displayed. You guys, I opened up a diet A&W. I already showed Eddie and Skye. I opened up a diet A&W can, and there was half in there. That's so weird. There's like six ounces in there. It was so, I bet. Rats. No, Eddie. Eddie, you know that. He's right. He's right.
Here's my conspiracy theory. Okay. They're trying to save dough. I bet they have something where they're doing that like every 12th can or something. That is ridiculous. Wow. Illegal. Allegedly. If I find one more. That's illegal. Well, not if it's an accident. We didn't mean it. It was an error. We'll correct it. How are you going to correct that? Well, we'll check our machines. It obviously was a mistake. We'll make sure that doesn't happen again. Mike, you are too much. I know. I think I had sunburned, you guys. My arms. Well, we went to Legoland. It was 900,000 degrees there over the weekend. And it's been so... which isn't the reason. It's just that when it's warm, you like to be outside. And so those rays are hitting you and you don't realize it. You're like, it's winter. What's going to happen? Right. It's sunburn. That's what will happen. I wonder how this security thing works. I also wonder, because he's black, is there more? Yeah. I heard that the security is beefed up. It is? Like a normal inauguration, yeah. Because he is black.
We get it, Sky. I mean, we know. I don't think you even need to say that. You know what I mean? Yeah. You just said that. Our phone number, if you want to call us up on the Rootadoo, if you want to hit us on the telly. On the what? You want to hit us on the telly right now. Call us on your mobile. Yeah, mobile. It's good. The number's 570-1053. You can use that here in America. Where else? Anywhere else? Well, if you're outside of the U.S. or the continental United States, you've got to... If you're in China. Yeah, if you're listening to us right now in China or anywhere in the Caribbean, you would have to dial 00, then the country code, and then 570-1053. Got it. What about the area code? I mean, don't you have to include that? It's optional. No, I don't think it is. From what I heard, I thought it was optional. No. No, he's right. All right. So my name is Michael Edward Esparza, and I was born in Guam. So, you know, take that. You can vote. I can vote in Guam if I want. Oh, you can vote? Oh, I can vote, period. Yes, I can. Really? Yeah, I'm an American citizen. But you were born in Guam. Yeah, Guam is an American Guam. Yeah, right. How does that work? Well, they call it. Never heard of that, bro. What they call it is they call it an American territory. Oh. So can you become president?
I can of Kenya. Okay. That works. I can become president, and I will. So, good morning, every booba. 570-1053 is the number. Phone lines are ringing. If you want your call in here to talk about anything you'd like, you better do it now. Eddie is our producer and sports guy. He is also the show superintendent, and so we pay our rent checks to him. That is true. For the show. When the toilet breaks? Yeah, but the downside of it is that, yeah, he's got to repair stuff. People buzzing on my buzzer. Screaming at you. Mr. Superintendent. Janet Rossi. Get out of here. Sky is our news girl, and she's rocking the headband and rocking the Obama spirit today. We got a new pres, new presidente. Oh, so good.
Later on, we're going to play some audio that I'm going to downplay it when I say it, Infuriated Eddie. It's Demi Moore. It had our boy a little hot under the collar. I saw it. You saw it happen? I saw it. And I was furious. We'll play a little second of it in a little bit. I was mad even thinking about it. Oh, no. How dare she? Oh, dude. Well, to tell you what we're talking about. It's too early. Oh, he's so upset at her. He hates her. Hey, good day. Let's not do this. It's too juicy to pass up. Cut one. To me, this all means that there is a different level of consciousness come to our country. What does this mean to you? Well, I agree with you, first of all, completely. I feel like I am living a dream. I feel like I am... I'm going to get emotional. I feel like I'm experiencing a level of inspiration that I have only ever heard about from my childhood, that I now am walking and a sense of hope and connection and unity that I just feel so much gratitude for my children to be experiencing this.
Eddie and Skye are mouthing to each other and pointing at each other. You're done. I get everything she was saying. Get out of here. This isn't your dream. Just because I'm white, I can't be inspired and I can't feel positive for our country. I don't care. I don't care. Get out of here. Maybe one day she'll have a white president. Yeah. That's her. Come on. Shut up. Shut up. Shut your mouth, Debbie. What are you hearing about? I'm getting kind of emotional right now. That's awesome. Don't smoke your cigarettes and count your money. All right, Debbie? No, dude. With your 20-year-old boyfriend. Get out of here. You live the American dream. Skye, I will now give you the stage and give you the opportunity. Now you can explain the sentiment.
I feel the same way. I have never felt passionate about an election or a president like I have this one. I don't know if it's because my age. I don't know if it was because I was so out on President Bush, but I have never been. But Scott, he wasn't your candidate. Who, Obama? Yeah, this wasn't your guy. Well, I support the Democratic Party, and yes, Edwards was originally my guy. But once he got out of the race, I got fully behind Obama, and I totally back him. I'm so inspired by this. You were in a drugged-out haze for the first part of your life. I mean, of course you're into it now. You're an adult. Well, granted, it was marijuana. If you want to call that a drugged-out haze. Two words for that, and it's par-lease, mister. Oh, boy. Progress. I am so excited. About what?
Just about what's ahead, what's to come. I feel like great things are ahead of us, and I haven't felt like that. When Clinton was brought into office, I didn't really feel that way. Maybe because we weren't in a dump. Eddie, again, marijuana, okay? I mean, give me one half of that. I think what Demetri Moore said is beautiful, and I think she has every right to say that and every right to feel that way, and I don't think race has anything to do with it. Denzel, I'll listen. What? Rice has nothing to do with it. It does. What is your problem? Because it's gigantic. It's gigantic for the black community that a black president was elected. And that is amazing. And I fully understand them coming out and going, wow, this is a huge day for us and the country and blah, blah, blah. I get that. But some white, rich celebrity. Why can't they be behind that? coming out and she has nothing to be like there was no she's had she can't be happy she's lived the american dream she can't be happy that we have an african-american president it can't mean as much to her the american dream what does she have to be said about spend your money on charity
Maybe she cares more than just herself. Maybe she cares more about the whole of our country than just herself. This is Debbie Moore we're talking about. She did striptease. Hey, Eddie. What? What does that mean? Well, to her defense, she also did ghost, and that was beautiful. True, it was. That was a gorgeous story. I'm exhausted. Gorgeous. I understand what this guy's saying. Of course you do. Really? Oh, no. It's so early. Listen. Hang on a second, you guys. Hang on a minute. Hang on. Let's hear from an African-American on what it feels like. Cut four. The day after the election, I woke up with a little swagger in my step. I think now, more than ever, it's a call to action to every American. Let the brother finish. Put your nose to the brownstone, roll up your sleeves. Let the brother finish, dude. Because we have some rebuilding to do. We don't care about yesterday. Yeah, dude. What's important is moving forward. We all of a sudden have swagger. America. We are cool now. Get on, baby. Think about it. That was Justin Timberlake, Mike. He's white. Oh, I only got to hear the clips. Oh, I know. That was Timberlake. That was a white guy? Yeah, he's white.
How come he was like, I got a swag in the mouth? What's up? Ah, sick. Do I get swag at two now? That's what he said. And now let's hear a clip from Vanilla Ice, ladies and gentlemen, about... Stop it. I never thought I'd see the day, man. I never thought I'd see the day. You guys are the worst. I'm just, you know, we're not. We're not. We're not. I woke up November 5th just tripping, dude. I woke up, I was like, whoa. I can't believe the day it comes. I woke my kid up. I hugged him. I was like, come here. I said to him, I looked at my kid. I said to him, Ethan. You are so lame right now. Why can white people not care? I woke up my daughter. I was like, Mackenzie, come here, girl. Bring your brother Gavin. Yeah, get Gavin. Wake up, Gavin and Mackenzie. All right? It's your cousin Hunter. Yeah, Hunter. Hunter, check this out. Come here, Scout. Sky, that even got Sky. That even got Sky. You're so dumb right now. White people are allowed to care too, you know. Where's Leonon? Oh, man. There it is. It's a beautiful day. Let's see. Also, let's continue to introduce. Shawnee is our sound effects guy. He wears the little green neon buds on his ears.
They're not buds, dude. They're headphones. That's right. And every once in a while, if we've been good, he will hide a little acorn under those and he'll switch them all around and we'll try to follow where the acorn is. I love it. And we win a prize. And then we get a prize, right? It's my favorite thing. It's really fast. It's that one. He's like, nope. Not even once. Yep. It's true. Now she's like, follow it, follow it. I love it. It's so much fun. It's middle. The middle. There it is. They're just headphones. Ashley is our assistant producer. Ashley, who did you vote? Who did you vote for? For Barack. You did? Yeah. For Barack Obama. You're smart. Yeah. How do you spell that, Ashley? B-A-R-A-C-K. No. At least you changed it from B-O-R. Oh. Oh. Hey, isn't there two R's? No? No. Oh, I know, man. And Rob is the guy over there wearing the green T-shirt. I'm guessing that's the Celtics thing, right? Uh-uh. Fenway. Fenway. Yeah. And he's got on the, what is the hat called? What do they call those style? Scully cap? He's got a scully cap. Never heard it called that. But that's what he's wearing, all right? Isn't that a Kangol? He's from New England.
a kangaroo jack or something? No. That's good. Oh, my bad. And then the kid over there screening phone calls. That's the artist formerly known as Sir Roosevelt, Zethi, and Oates III, Junior, Esquire, MD, DDS, President, and CEO. At CNOT TV. There he is. All right, Sherry's Jubilee, and that's it. That's it. It's the best. That's it. Ladies and gentlemen, Hall of Famer P1 T-Rex is on the line. Here we go. Give him the floor, Mike. That's right. He can say whatever he wants. You are the worst today. You're the worst. You're in charge. You're trying to keep the whitey down. Oh, boy. Guys, thanks for the shout-out yesterday. That was awesome. That's right, T-Rex. I was streaming for the first time on my computer. That was awesome. That's cool. Happy late birthday. What's up, T-Rex? Hey, I was just going to let you know, I have some relatives going to the inauguration today. That's cool. I was just kind of curious if you guys wanted to talk to anybody down there. We actually have a reporter. Oh, cool. We actually have a reporter there that we're going to be talking to this morning. Wow. And his name is Jim Rice. Is that right? Jack Rice. Jack Rice. Jim Rice? Jack Rice. I'll just call him Jim Rice and see if he's cool with that. Jack Bauer. Call him Jack Bauer. Yeah, we have a reporter from Kogo. Our sister station, Kogo AM600, is going to be checking in from...
Them all. No. Out there in Washington, D.C. Wow. He's there in the crowd with, you know, two and a half million people. That's kind of crazy. Yeah. That's a lot of people. So, all right, T-Rex, thanks, dude. You guys take care. I'll see you. Bye. Bye. That was kind of cut himself off there. We'll see him later. Oh. Okay, 570-1053. That is our phone number. You can call us right now. You can call us at the beginning and end of every show. Open phones. You can talk about anything you want to. I mean, all I want to talk about is the inauguration. Do you smell what Barack is cooking? Oh, it smells so good. That's what I'm interested in. It's going to be such a sight. All those people out there. Him getting sworn in. I find today so interesting. I want to know every little thing about it and how it works, the Secret Service, what he does when he's done in there. Where does he go to sleep tonight? Is it different from where he went to sleep last night? What about his kids? Where do they sleep in the White House? Are they allowed to go in there and put up new paint in that room for their kids and put whatever they want in there? What about TV?
Do they have DirecTV? Do they have local DC cable? Do they have a TiVo? Do they have a DVR? Yeah. A DVR. Or a TiVo. Maybe they are rich enough to have the brand TiVo. He's the president. He's the president. I want to know about the animals. They're pets. They have a cat, right? Don't they have a cat and they're getting a dog? That was the big deal that they were getting a dog? I knew they were getting a dog. They do not have a cat? I don't know. You don't know anything about your cat. Oh, my gosh. Okay. And are the animals allowed free reign in the White House? Guy just shot Eddie a silent look. This is bad, Mike. I mean, it's not even starting with me. It's not even 630. It's misplaced anger about Demi Moore. Okay. And then it's direct anger about you echoing her sentiments. It's those two things. It is. I have a whole psychological take on it, but I think I'll save that one until January 21st. I think that today is the inauguration day.
Let's all come together. It's a day of unity, Mike. It's a day of unity. Let's all pretend. Let's all hold hands with our pinkies and stuff today. With our dislocated pinkies. Butterfly kisses. 570-1053 is the number. And we even have a text number. 35253 if you want to text us. We'd love to hear from you. And your thoughts on the inauguration? Your thoughts on the new president? Are you excited? Scared? What do you think is going to happen? Will our economy change now that we have a new president? And if you think it will, how long is it going to take? Is it going to be that he'll make changes that we'll see a change in our economy within the first hundred days? Or is it going to take a year, two years? By the way, there are no right answers. No one knows. If we knew, we'd be doing it. So we don't know. Give us a call.
570-1053 or text us at 35253. Boy, my brother's excited today. My brother Mark. He was out campaigning for Barack Obama. Wearing Barack Obama buttons and whatnot. He was real into it. For real, man. The fish must be real excited too, right? Yeah, boy Blunder was a big Barack guy. Didn't he volunteer for his... Yeah, I think he did. He worked the phone box. Me and him had a couple of go-arounds about that. You know, it's just, it was very polite and everything. We were respectful of one another. We just shared how, you know, we had varying opinions on the course of government. Hey, listen, if you're new listening to this show, I'm a conservative Republican. I believe in conservative government. And Sky is a liberal Democrat, you know. And she believes in... choking the life out of us. Oh, shut up. No, no, no. She believes in unicorns and Pegasus. Sky just shot. Another one. Eddie, look. I believe in our country and helping others. I don't believe in just supporting the rich white elite. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. 570-1053. P1.
Aztec Raider. Hey, how's it going, guys? Good, man. What are you thinking today? Dude, the reason that I'm happy for today is because when this dude got elected, I realized I have two little girls right now and a little boy that's coming in about a month or a month and a half whenever he decides to show up. You know, when they get older, I always thought, you know, they're going to make me that stupid question about whether they can be president or not. And I'm Mexican, and my girl is white. And I always knew that I was going to say yes, of course you can, you know. But now I know that's not a lie. Yeah, that is true. And honestly, and I mean this so genuinely, dude, that's wonderful, man. I believe that. That is wonderful. So to me, you know, when I see him, you know, I'm not going to take any credit away from the black community. But to me, I see him as a mixed president, you know. Well, he is. And that's a bigger proof. that the country is marching in the right direction, where it can be mixed, and he can still become president, you know? Dude, Barack Obama is our 44th white president. You can say that, too. It's a true statement. He's just as much that as he's our 44th black president. Our first black president. He's just as much that as he is the 44th white one. But you know how the media is. But to me, I see them as a mix, which, you know, to everybody, everybody can take a little off of that.
Yeah, he's both. It's cool. It is cool, man, for sure. I mean it. Thank you, bro. Thank you. Eddie, good luck with your kid, dude. You're going to have fun, dude. Eddie, good luck. Oh, me? Thanks. That's right. It's going to be fun, man. That's right. Thank you, brother. How's she doing? She sick? Not really. Queasy? No. No? No. She's a little tired. That's about it. Yeah. It's hard work making a kid. Apparently. I wouldn't know. They got a whole other person has to form and everything? The body is working double time. I'm glad we don't do that. Forget about it. It's for the birds, bro. I don't want any part of that stuff. It's for the birds. It's for the birds, you know? I mean, when you think about it, it's a large thing that's got to come into the world through a small area. And I don't want...
that to happen to me. It's got to be painful, yeah? Yeah, I remember one time when Manchester was playing, who was it? Who were they playing that time? Milan. That's right, Manchester was playing Milan one time. What's happening? And me and my friends went and we got our drink on, right? Right. Well, we ended up at our favourite Indian and we had a curry and I remember it got bound up, it did. And the next day, I thought to myself, Boy, now I know what childbirth is like. Okay. And I thought to myself, you know, it occurred to me, I thought, boy, you know, at least the women don't have to deal with the Kerry. It's bonkers. Because I'll tell you, there's no getting around the Kerry. Yeah. And I'll tell you what, I did it without an epidural, too. That's right. Did anyone give me any credit for that? No. Did anyone run into the loo? No, of course not. Did anyone run into the loo and say, hey, You were able to get through all of that without the use of an epidural. Right. Nobody said good on you. Yeah, good on you. And look at that. Did anyone text me on me mobile and say, hey, look at you getting through all that pain and all that bound up curry. Okay, with the curry. And you got through all of it. Without an epi. Yeah. All of this without the use of an epi. You know what? I'll tell you the truth.
I considered installing an epi and a loo. Because I thought, how do I know this won't happen again? It's so painful, you know. Hey, Mikey, please do more Neil Diamond. I almost had a heart attack listening to the morning replay. That's P1. Ouch, that hurts. Morning, Mikey show. I actually dislocated my pinky at football practice when I was nine years old. The coaches taped it to my ring finger, and when I got home, my dad popped it back in. He says it didn't hurt at all. That's P150. Mikey, I'm wondering if Sky would like to get rid of affirmative action now that an American's president, right? That's P1 Rattleman. Now that an African American's president. Oh, I thought you said now that an American's president. Let me read it again, then. I'm going to correct it. Now I know what he means.
Mikey, I'm wondering if Sky would... I got it. Oh, my gosh. Bruce, thanks a lot. You're picking on me. You're trying to bring me down on a beautiful day. What a beautiful, wonderful, historic day. All I want to do is love and be happy. Me too, man. Eddie, Mike, and Bruce are ruining everything. Get out of here. Freaking Bruce, dude. Mikey, what are Sky's thoughts about the fact Obama spent 150 mil on the inauguration? Sky, it's P1 Bell. I don't know what the normal budget is for an inauguration. I don't know if that's standard. I don't know if that's excessive. I would be mad if it were anybody else. Everything I've read, it's three times more expensive. And it's the most expensive inauguration in the history. Hey, man, you got to break some eggs to make an awesome omelet. That's all I'm saying. All right. What does that mean, Seth? You got to spend a lot of money on eggs. Well, I just got chickens. That's why I just got chickens, I guess. Well, I know the turnout is, you know, historic, so I'm sure with all the security. They needed extra Gatorade cups. They needed a lot. A lot of port-a-potties. Where does that money come from if we're so broke? We borrow it from China. Yeah, pretty much.
Oh, that's so sad. I guarantee you that Chinese money helped pay for today's inauguration. No doubt about it. Mikey, Demi Moore sounded like Ashley playing Village Idiom. Does Demi know what she was talking about? That's P1 Do It. I don't know. Do it. Mikey, does anyone know if there's going to be, if anyone's going to be showing the inauguration on the internet? That's P1 Sanjaya. Actually. We got some local inauguration viewing parties going on that we'll tell you about right here in San Diego. So we'll tell you about that. I assume in San Diego, right, Skye? Yeah. So we'll tell you that. Let's see. Mikey, the demolition of the bowling alley is taking place today. It's a P1 shock. What? What bowling alley? In the White House. Oh. Oh. That's right, because he's put in a basketball court. Lest anybody think that that was a racist comment. Like, oh, really? Way to go, Mike. Basketball court. No, no, no. He really is. That's what he said. Let's see. Mikey, did you guys know that Obama has a three-legged white poodle? No joke. It was on the news. That's P1 Reuben. I believe that that is true. And Diddy on Larry King talking about what he thinks. Oh, no. Mitch Hedberg in the stand-up spotlight. No, 5-3. Death metal band. Who either loved us or they hated us. Or they thought we were okay. You know, we got a guy that I call Crush It that's in our, he's like the head of our sales department. And I was talking to him yesterday about AIS. And I was saying, we were just talking about psychology of people. He said, you know what the deal is with that AIS and with the insurance deal is that it's not costing people money. It's actually discounting people, which right now is more true than ever before because AIS just got rid of all their broker fees, which, by the way, some of the other ones are still doing it. But this is imperative. To your life right now. Because all of us are going through this economic crisis. I hate to sound so dramatic, but it's true. We're all going through this economic crisis. We've got some brake lights to deal with out here this morning. There is an accident northbound 15 just past the 52, which is backing up traffic now. Coming out of Murphy Canyon, the slowdown begins right around Arrow Drive. And that's a slow ride up through Tierra Santa to the scene of this crash just before the 52. So be prepared to sit in that for a bit. Also, someone hit like a ladder in a large box, metal box on the South 5 just before Birmingham Drive. And that's adding to slow traffic now coming down that shoreline.
From Encinitas down to where that accident is kind of trying to get out of the way anyway. This 805 northbound, you're looking at just some slow speeds here as you come up towards the 8 freeway. Really not too bad quite yet. South 15, you've got the usual soda developing out of Escondido up to 78 down to Villarancho Parkway. No worries out of the east county, the westbound 85294. Back to the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. I picked my nose a lot.
Eddie. I just want my sandwich like I want my sandwich. Sky. I enjoy presents. What can I say? Sean. I'm Austin Rob. I'm kind of the transient of the bunch. And Ashley. I'm a very loving, nurturing person. On Rock 105.3. It's the Mikey Show. Inauguration Day. I feel stupid. It is 643. Hugh Hefner's ex, Kendra, is issuing an apology for publicly commenting on how she would seek companionship with other men while she was with Hef. The Jets make it official. They agree to a deal with the Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan to be their new head coach. Our phone number here is 570-1053. 9 o'clock this morning, local time, is when they are going to be inaugurating President Obama. So it happened at 9 this morning. And, Sky, you got local ones going on?
Yeah, this is really cool. Eight ultra star theaters here in San Diego are doing live. It's going to be a tough one. Even Eddie is kind of like wincing like, oh, that was a little much. I'm not sure. I don't know how this is going to work out. Yeah, I would like. That's not your job. I would like. Somebody proclaimed Friends in 09. I thought the deal was. Then why are you picking on me? I'm doing my job. That is not your job. When you say the word theater, we're all supposed to make fun of you. That is not in your contract. I go to the theater. It was in a side letter. It got notarized. I thought it was a deal. So they will do live coverage of the inauguration from 6.30 this morning till 2 o'clock this afternoon. The tickets were free. They say most of the theaters have reached capacity, but you can still call Ultra Star. They go to the theater if there's any availability at the one near you. Will people be in there for real, you think? Well, they say that they've given out almost all the tickets. Really? I mean, they've reached capacity. What is that? What is it about? What are you going to do? What do you do? What is that?
When you go there, do you take the day off or do you not take the day off? It's your day off anyway. Is that the deal? I'm just trying to imagine going to a movie theater. Popcorn? Yeah, that would be delish. Swizzlers? What are we talking here? Yeah, let's do that. Also, six San Diego public libraries will be having viewing parties. A number of local hotels will also be having viewing parties and theme-related drink specials. So, like, the Hilton San Diego Bayfront is one of the hotels. The Pearl Hotel also. The Hope Teenie. The Hope Teenie. Yes, dude. Yes. Change of colada. A Barack and tonic. Black and tan. Black and tan. That was Rob. Austin Rob at Rock 105.3. He's mixed. That's right. Black Russian. That's fantastic. Wow. Well, we can't wait. President Bush is not done. He is still our president.
and commuted the sentences of a couple of people, right, Skye? Yes, he did, Mike. What did he do? That's news to me. Yesterday, he commuted the sentence of two border agents who were serving time. One was sentenced to 11 years. The other was sentenced to 12 years for shooting an unarmed drug smuggler or drug dealer, whatever you want to call him, coming in from Mexico and then trying to cover it up. Yeah. So a sentence, you know, one was sentenced to 11 years, the other to 12 years. I believe they've been in prison for about two and a half years so far. And President Bush commuted their sentence yesterday, basically meaning they can they can go now. Yeah. And this guy doesn't like it. I can tell by the look on her face. I don't care for that at all. Because now I know on our man and then tried to cover it up. Now, all presidents do this, but I'm going to assume from your reaction that you prefer it be white collar crime. Where people are commuted like Clinton did. Clinton commuted. No, I don't care for any of that. You don't like any sentences being commuted. If you're a criminal, if you committed a crime and were prosecuted for that crime, went through an appeals process, the appeals process says, no, you are guilty of said crime. No, you should not be commuted. I'd be all right with that. Honestly. I mean, why do we even have the system set up? Why do we? I mean, seriously. Like, I don't understand why.
And it's kind of like they just, they got to do it, you know? But why? What's the point? Hasn't the... justice system kind of already played out yeah well brian bilberry you know he was a big supporter of getting these guys getting their sentence commuted this was a big issue for him you know he thought that this was wrong and that they had the book thrown at them and the punishment was too hard so he had been you know lobbying the president getting ready to start lobbying uh president obama if uh bush didn't act on this so he is really ecstatic about all of this these guys are gonna get to get out of jail yeah because you got a I figure we're supposed to put our justice system there to do something. But I don't know. Who knows? 570-1053 is our phone number. If you want to text us, 35253 is the number. And we got some killer stuff coming up for you, man. We got WEC tickets to give away. Who are the stars of the WEC? The two biggest stars are probably Uriah Faber.
And Jen's Pulver. Yeah. And they're fighting each other in the main event. Really? Here in San Diego. It's happening here. On Sunday. Yeah, it did. That's pretty cool. Yeah, and Jen's Pulver should be in the studio on Friday morning. Really? Awesome. That's awesome. So get ready for it. Yes. We're going to be giving away tickets to it coming up next. In fact, if you want to play P1 Password. Oh, yes. I'm ready. Why don't you give us a call right now? Eddie. 570-1053. Well, the way P1 Password works is you have to, one of the show members has to communicate with the other show members and try to communicate words. And it's really something else to watch. Eddie, Ashley wants to be your partner. Eddie. Come on, this could work. Why is she saying my name? She wants to be your partner. She thinks that together you guys can work it out. I'm saying my name. Who knows? You're the best. Stop it. Just love you. Be quiet. 570-1053. Come on, let's do this. Call us right now. Let's do a little P1 password. Our text number is 35253. And check out our blogs, MikeyShow.com. When we come back, it's not so sunny in the desert. Anquan Bolden, the other guy in Arizona for the Cardinals. Oh, whatever about that. He's upset. He's upset.
He's very upset. And when we come back, Eddie's going to tell you why. We'll do that next along with P1 Password. Don't go away. Dear people of the world, the Mikey Show is on. But at what cost? You're listening to The Very Hilarious Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I don't run anywhere. I saunter. Eddie. I'm clearly the best. Sky. I never, ever spend money. Sean. I am very supernatural phenomenon. Boston Rob. I'm so athletic, man. And Ashley. I do have a lot of best friends, yeah. On Rock 105.3. Is 659. Chris Rock says one bad thing about Obama being our new president is he's not good for new comedy material. He's so perfect. He's so perfect. It's impossible to make fun of the guy. One of the criticisms that Jamie Foxx had is just how gorgeous he is and there's not a flaw on his face that you can even speak of. He's impeccable. That's too bad. I see his point. You know what's hard for guys that do tailoring of suits?
It's hard to fit his wings in a jacket. That is true. It really is hard to fit his wings in a jacket. I agree. Welcome back. Before we went to break, I said that we were going to tell you the hubbub with Ann Quambold. Okay, so here it is, Super Bowl, right? Everyone's excited. It's a dream come true. Arizona has gone to their first Super Bowl, right? So cool. We all know who the star is. There's no mistake about it. Number 11 is the star. Of the show. Freaking Fitzgerald. That's true. Yeah. Okay. He is. He is. He's real good. But you guys have to remember, there is another pretty good receiver on the team. Well, he's, you know, going to the Pro Bowl as well. Yeah. And that's Anquan Bolden. Right. Where was he? I didn't even see him during the game on Sunday. Taking coverage away from your boy. That's right. That is true. Oh, yeah. That is true. He was making it so that, you know, if ever Fitzgerald was single covered, it's because, you know what I mean? They go, hey, we got to pay attention to that other guy, too. Now, he's upset right now, Anquan. Yes. And what is the problem, Eddie? Well, you know, Anquan was coming off a hamstring injury. Yeah. And so, you know, don't know if he was 100% going into the game.
But in the fourth quarter, the most critical time, the most critical drive when Arizona was down, they pulled Anquan Bolden from the game. And he got into a huge dust-up with the offensive coordinator on the sidelines. And so him and the offensive coordinator were yelling at each other and come to find out it was because he was upset. He didn't get an explanation of why he wasn't in the game at the most critical moment. And so he was very upset and still is talking about it, still is saying, you know, he doesn't know why he wasn't in the game. He was fine. He was healthy. He was running the routes just perfectly. What do you think, Eddie? I think it's stupid. Yeah. Like, dude, you won the game. Who cares if you were in there for two minutes? Right. You know, no need to have distractions right now. I mean, you're going to the biggest game of your career, of your life. I have thoughts on this. I actually have thoughts on this. I think that coaches purposefully do this. And then during a big game, like in the Super Bowl, I bet you it becomes the Anquan Bolden show. Because he's quiet, he's quiet, he's quiet. And then there he goes. And then, like, you know, that's why trick plays work so well. You know, you don't see them very often. But when you're in those big games, it's a great time to bring out the trick play.
Nobody's seeing it coming. Nobody's expecting it. And Anquan's going to be great all through the season and everything. But he's quiet, he's quiet, he's quiet. And then boom, he explodes. I have a feeling in the Super Bowl, Anquan Bolden will be featured big time. Big time? I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Like, I don't get it. Like, they purposely took him out of the game in the fourth quarter for the Super Bowl? You know what I think? No, no, no, no. Not the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl's coming up still. And I think in the Super Bowl, you'll see all kinds of Anquan Bolden. In fact, I think you'll see more Anquan. Than Larry Fitzy. Come on, man. It's very possible, yeah. They'll, you know, gear the coverage towards Fitzgerald, obviously. Yeah. But I don't get what you're saying. Well, it's like, check this out. I think that, what's his, Edron James? Oh. I think he probably could have played a lot more than he did. It's just a theory I have. I think that maybe what they do is they get these guys that are really good, and they just hang on, hang on, and then they bring them out, and they're like a little, like they're like a secret weapon. You know what I mean? Like they break out their secret weapon. Now, Anquan's not much of a secret. No. You know, he's going to the Pro Bowl and everything. Yeah. But sometimes I think maybe what they do is they hold them back. They keep them back a little bit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then one of these days, dude, when we go to the Super Bowl, you're not expecting that, and then we're just like, Zeth out, you know? Zeth out. Just throw them in your face. You get what I'm saying. What about now? It's time for P1 Password. Yes, it's time to play. P1 Password. Yes, it's time to play. P1 Password on the mic. P1 Password. Budget cuts. Budget cuts. We play P1 Password, and what we do is we pick names. We pick two names, and those are the people that will communicate. I always have Eddie explain P1 Password because I'm incapable. Well, what we do is, as a listener, you will hear the word, and then whoever is giving the word will hear the word, and then you get three clues to guess until you can get the word.
And you can pass twice. You've got to get five words out of seven in a minute. It's like the TV show. Yes. Okay. So, we have two people on the show communicating with each other. It's fantastic watching us. Yeah, we're good. Try to communicate with one another. And the prize is WEC tickets. So, P1 Jason, you there? Yep, yep. How you doing, man? Doing yourself? Good, good. Are you excited about Inauguration Day? Super excited. There you go. I can hear it in his voice. I can hear it, too. You're coming out of your skin. Oh, yeah. All right, dude, you may win WEC tickets and be going to see that event live this weekend, so hang on the line, will you? Well, first, I'll keep you on the line while we find out who you're going to be playing for you. All right, the first name that I've selected is Sky. Oh. The communicator. Skye will be the communicator. Oh, please don't let it be NyQuil. And Rob is NyQuiled out. And Skye will be communicating with Rob. That is awesome. Great. Way to call your shots, Skye. Let me put you on hold, Jason. This is bad, because I'm a better guesser, I think, than a clue giver, but...
No way. If this was reversed, it would be bad. Remember when I said, or what did I say for a magazine? I couldn't figure it out. Did you say like, book twice? What did he say? I think you did. You said book twice. Okay. Rob has his headphones off. He cannot hear what the words are, but you, the audience driving in your car at work, you will hear the word. And Sky will have to try to communicate that word. Here we go. We begin. Beard. Face. Book. Hair. Future. Full. Head. Oh. This. Statue. Still. Freeze. Cement. Concrete. Figure. Statue. Yes. Driver. Car. Drive. Person. Steering wheel. Car. Automobile. Tattoo. Rob. Money. Neck. Throat. Beard. Oh, wow. That's it. That was horrible. It's NyQuil. It's NyQuil. It's NyQuil. He's on. What is it? What is it? Tell me what I missed. Tell me what I missed. Well, I said the one face. Yeah. And you said book for some reason. Facebook. Face, hair, full, beard.
The next one was statue, which you got. The next one, I knew after you said drive, there was no chance. Because in his mind, he'd used that word before. It was driver. I said car, and you said drive, and I said person. It's driver. And then the last one was tattoo. How do you not get that? Rob throat. Didn't you say neck? You said neck? Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. She said neck. That's right. I do have a tattoo on my throat and my neck. I never see it. Yeah. Well, I'm sorry, P1 Jason. Sorry about that, Jason. Sorry about Scott. Maybe next time. You're the worst. You are the worst communicator. P1 World's Greatest Husband. Are you there? Yep. All right. Are you ready to do this? Yeah, yep, yep. All you have to do is just sit there, dude. All right, I'm about to pick a name for you. Are you ready? Let's go. Stop it. The communicator is Eddie. The communicator is Eddie. Eddie will be communicating with Mike. Oh, no.
This is tough today. Who's running this? Shadesy NyQuil. This is not good. Shades of NyQuil. Come on, Mike. We can do this. I'll do this. I'll nail it. Be smart. I will. Hope your back's feeling strong, Eddie, because you're going to carry on. I'm nervous. I'm nervous, but I'm getting in the zone. Okay, that's weird. Just because you open your eyes wide doesn't mean it. And not blink. And lean back in the chair. Stop it. Stop it. All right. Okay, I'm ready. Are we ready? Yes. All right, here we go. Military. Army. Colonel. Navy. Military. Yep. Cereal. Cheerios. Cereal. Yep. Apple. Oranges. Apples. Yep. Wrinkle. Face. Book. Old. Wrinkle. Yep. Concert. Performance. Dance. Music. Concert. Yep. Yes. Yes. I've done it the first time in my life. That's because Eddie's the best. That's because Eddie's the best. Get it? Booyah. In your face. Booyah. I don't even think we got to a third clue. That felt good, bro. That was fun. That was great. That felt really, really good. I don't ever get them.
I never get them. I never get them. It's so good having a good partner. I know, Eddie. I wish I had you. Stupid. Man. Stupid. Wow. Congratulations. Hang on a line. Somebody slap him. Really? Gosh. Wow. P1 Hydroponics? Yes, sir. All right. There's only two left. Oh, no. Best team ever. There's only two left. It's Zeth and Ashley. It's going to be Zeth. And Ashley. So we just have to find out who the communicator is and who the communicator is. I don't know what I'm saying. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Ashley's communicating. Ashley's communicating and Zeth is the guesser. Come on in here, Zeth. Don't yell at him like that. He's already pissed. He hasn't even made one guess. She's furious with him. Angry, totally angry. Hang on, hydroponics. She just slapped him in the behind. What is that? I don't know. She's irritated. All right, Ash, you can do this. Sexual harassment. You can do this. Okay. Are you ready? Yes. All right, you must get only... This is going to be ridiculous. You must get five words correct. You have one minute to do it. You can only use three words. Three single words.
He was almost there. He does that to confuse me. He knows my brain can't manage it. He knows I can't manage it. My mind is incapable of managing that many details. I know. And I felt like I'm running the perfect race. I'm running the perfect race. I've almost described this game for the first time ever. And then I'll have Ashley pull it. And I will just play that clip back whenever I describe it in the future. And what he did was, all he did was he threw a marble out in a NASCAR racetrack. And he threw the whole car off the track with a marble. Five feet before the finish line. Yes, right before the finish line. He messed up, Sean. All right. Give five right. Here we go. Now, Zeth can't hear her. The audience can. Here we go. Scotland. Ashley's eyes. Accent. Voice. Place. Mexico. Kilt. Scotland. Yes! Lighter. Smoke. Break. Use. Cigarette. And. Mashes. One more time. Here we go. Cook. Bake. Here we go. Drop. Fly. Airplane. Opposite. Bird.
You can't. You only have one more clue. Didn't she say that already? The worst. The worst. The worst. I couldn't even hear the words and I knew those clues sucked. I don't think. It's over, Sean. It's over, Sean. Sean, it's over. That was horrendous. I know it, right? You. Let me tell you something. No. Let me tell you. No. I don't think they should be partners ever again. They're the worst partnership. Not us. Her. Hydroponics, I'm very sorry. I'm sorry, Hydro. That was garbage. Now, let me tell you what the words were. Please. Let me tell you what the words were. You got Scotland right, okay? But then the next one, instead of matches, you might have said what you actually use, a lighter. Every day. Okay. A lighter. Okay. He says, okay, fair. Now, the next one was cook.
And the clues were bake and opposite. The opposite of baking is cooking. It's such a great course for San Diego and everyone listening. It's going to be cool. That's so nuts. And, you know, with the radio, you can do anything. Yeah, we're very powerful. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
And so because of that, we are going to send him to Washington to report from the festivities. We also have an actual reporter out there, so we'll have two reporters this morning. Oh, wow. I don't like how you said actual. Okay. Let me phrase that differently. Well, he means because you're a sports guy. Sports is your focus, but you're going to cover politics. Well, I'm reporting. I'm reporting, so that makes me an actual... Reporting nonetheless. I think I get that. Okay, let me put it this way. We'll have a COGO reporter. Okay, all right. Okay, we will have a COGO reporter out there, and we will have... Eddie as a reporter out there. So we will have both. Nice. You know, from the different angles. Yeah. You can get it from the different angles. You'll have actual reporters. Yes. Reporters. Yeah. Plural. You know what I mean? Yep. And we will cover the inauguration this morning. President Bush meeting with President Obama right now. They had a little coffee and.
The coffee. Michelle Obama gave a gift to Laura Bush. What was it? I want to know what's in there. I want to know what's in that box. What's in the box? No, it's a head. You know what I mean? What if it is? What if it's Gwyneth Paltrow's head? Oh my God. How weird would that be? Oh my God. How bizarre would that be? That is crazy. You know what I mean? I got this, you guys. Okay. Hello, this is The Mikey Show. Yo, yo, yo, what's up, people? Hey, check it out, you guys. It's President Bush. And he's going to be our president, really, only for about another hour and 40 minutes. Yeah, I'm going to do all kinds of great stuff in the last hour. You are? Yeah. Like, what? What do you mean? Like, what are you going to do in the last hour? Well, first of all, I can tell you what the Obamas got us as a president. Yeah, what was it? They got us the DVD game, Seen It. They did. Oh, that's fun. Yeah, that's a lot of fun. That is fun. They did? Was it a special version? You know how they have like the Friends version, the Seinfeld, the 90s? Only you would ask that question. No, I'm just wondering. That's not enough. It has to be the Harry Potter version. Oh, the Harry Potter version. No, it is. It's just the regular standard version. Oh, okay. Just wondering. I'm not part of the rich elite.
They also got us another present. What did they get you, President Bush? They got us Max Payne on DVD because it's out today. I see what you're doing there, President Bush. I see what you're doing there. I see what you're doing there, President Bush. I see what you're doing there, President Bush. Wait, stop. Don't tell us. It's so crazy because, you know, Eddie does the same thing every week and he just blows the new releases for Sky. Yeah, he sort of steals Sky's thunder by announcing the new releases before she does. Before she does. that President Bush did it too. It's so weird that President Bush, but he didn't know. President Bush was just telling us, he was just telling us what Obama's gave to him as a gift. He's got an excuse. I'll bring you a copy, Scott. I'll make it up for you. Hey, you know, today's a pretty cool day. It is. It's historic. It is. I can remember my inauguration day. What was it like? What was it like, President Bush? Well, Maggie, I mean, we had some hot acts.
playing at my gala. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah, like, who did you guys have there? Well, you know, I think when former American Idol reject Josh Grayson came on stage. Josh Grayson? I don't even remember that. Yeah, I don't either. The country held its breath. Oh, wow. Of course, Wild Cherry really rocked the house. You had Wild Cherry at your, yeah. But of course, my all-time fave was the duet between A-Ha and Ike Turner. I don't know, bro. Well, you know, I mean, most... Singers in Hollywood, people are... Want to work with uh-huh? They're damned. Yes, they're damned. Yeah, it wasn't the most... Yes, yes. I get what you're saying. Listen, Barack, I got one piece of advice for you, my friend. Go ahead, President Bush. Be sure and go potty before everything starts. Potty. That's actually good advice, man. I mean, when I was getting sworn in, Mikey, I was doing the pee-pee dance. Oh, wow.
I know what you mean. Yes. Yeah. Kind of a precursor of things to come. It's more of a precursor of things to come. Thank you. Wow. You'll be here all morning. All right. One of my favorite memories of my inauguration was, of course, the act party. The act party? After party. Oh, yeah, the after party. There's a lot of parties. Yes. I mean, it was just a blur of cake stands and blow. No. That was the postcard movie. You know what? That might have been when I graduated from Yale. Okay, straight out of that. It was a rock party. Okay, well, that's different. Okay. My favorite part of the... What's going on, President Bush? Why are you having a hard time with that? Who's having a hard time? It sounds like you're having a hard time saying that. What? What's it matter? I had a great time, is what I'm saying, at my festivability.
Festivities? Festivities is what I said. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You were close. My favorite part was the break dancers that I got. Oh, really? Yeah. I had them cover the steps of the Lincoln Memorial with cardboard. You did? Yeah. And I hired Pimp 5. Rob was a sophomore. He was in an all-white guy breakdance troupe called the Pimp Five. He was really good. Yeah, he was, man. He rocked the his. You know what? My case, Laura and I transitioned. Laura and I, we went out last night to paint the town red. You did? Or should I say paint the town Native American. No, that's not how you use that. No one drew that connection until you said that. My first stop was the Smithsonian. Always wanted to TP that stupid place. That's weird. Then we went over to Dick's. Not Cheney's, Van Patten. Okay. Last stop, Guantanamo.
Wow. There's a couple of naked human pyramids. Oh, good times. Oh, it's 100% legal, you know. No, it's not. It's not 100% legal. Presidential immunity. No, we went through this already. It's not. It's not. This is Survivor. President. This is Survivor. What? What? President. I'm trying to tell you. All right, I've got a few of Spielbergs taking my seat. Oh, no. That's President Bush, ladies and gentlemen. Oh, wow. I just want to let you guys know how much I really appreciate your show. I try to catch every minute. You guys are the best. Thank you, man. It was an earlier car fire, West 8 at Spring Street, and then I'm busy. And then actually an injury crash in that back up at the 125, making it very busy coming out of the Cajon Valley. Actually slow now from West Main Street on the westbound, Dave, all the way up to that injury crash here, clearing just over to the Groswet 7 at Severn Drive. Once you get past that, bunches up again from Fletcher Park, we go out to Lake Murray. On the northbound 805, you've got some slow traffic to deal with here. Heavy up towards Division Street, then again from the 15 in the north park. A minor delay heading up over the 52. Northbound 15 got in trouble here this morning, though. There was an earlier accident just before the 163 merge, and that still has you backed up out of Tierra Santa from Claremont Mesa Boulevard on up to that accident scene. Heading out of Escondido to South 15, jammed up from the 78 to Villarancho Parkway, and the coast arrived. South 5 quite heavy now out of La Costa all the way down to Salina Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105 for 8. It's Tuesday on American Idol. The road to Hollywood leads through San Francisco.

Boston Rob. Everybody enjoys a good thumbs up once in a while. That's right. And Ashley. I'm really bad at describing things. On Rock 105.3. It's a Mikey show. It is 7.35. Today's the big day. Around 9 o'clock this morning, Barack Obama will be sworn in as our 44th president. Well, the Padres say they're $5 million over their budget. What? Are you serious? Which is $40 million. Which is $10. Yeah. Seriously. Well, that's what they gave CeCe Sabathia over at the Yankees. So they say they're still trying to trade Jake Peavy to, you know, get that number down. Yucko. Dude, that's messed up. Blech. Yeah. Blech.
Our text number is 35253 if you want to text us. Mikey, I've heard that there's one port-a-potty per 5,000 people at the inauguration. It's P1 Tom. How do you deal with that? Yeah, well, there are 5,000 port-a-potties. There was supposed to be one port-a-potty for every 300 people. But if they really get, you know, the 2 to 3 million people are expecting 5,000 port-a-potties is not going to cut it. Like some people are actually talking to the press about wearing Depends. to the ceremony. Stop it. I'm serious. Because there's only going to be 5,000 porta-potties out there and there could be up to 3 million people. What are you going to do? Our country... I'm worried about our country. I'm really worried about our country. Because of the porta-potty situation? Because there's people peeing in the pens. Food. Our country, we have some... We are off track. We're dysfunctional.
We're in this functional country. Wow. It's got adults wearing diapers in the Capitol, Mike. Yeah, I'm going to go wee in a diaper so that I can be in the back of a group of people. Right. Totally, dude. Not because I have to, but because I'm making a choice to. Yes. Eight degree weather. Oh, for God. I mean, it's just nuts. It's nuts. That's funny. Mikey, any plans for CD signing? Thanks, you sexy essay. Like lots of them. Dude, I feel so bad about it. You know, listen, I said we were going to talk about it, and then I forgot. Did you send it? Oh, yeah. I did. And they just never got back? Never heard back. Well, in the meeting today, we're... Punching some raccoons. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Awesome. All right, we'll do it today. Why are you hurting animals? We'll do it today. Yeah, we'll figure it out today. We'll figure it out today. Make it happen, Mike. See, I want to, but my brain does not operate in this way. It doesn't. If I send an email, I assume it's done. In fact, let me tell you how I put things on my calendar. Let's say that somebody writes and says,
Dinner Friday night. I'll write them back and say, yep, sounds good. What time? They say six o'clock. I write them back and say, I somehow work in a question so that I don't have to schedule it until they write me back. And then I go, oh, yeah, that's that thing. OK, now I got to put six o'clock Friday night. You get what I'm saying? Yeah, that's a bad way to do it. What's the best way? Because this guy's good, man. When it comes to, like, organization and that stuff, she gets it. How do you do it? Say your friend, Ched, writes you and goes, hey, dinner Friday night. The Pomp-O-P-A-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P-P- Dinner with cheddar pomple pants. I get where you're going. And then you put question mark. And that's when you write back what time, blah, blah, blah. And then when all the details are done, the day is already saved. You just scratch out the question mark and you put 6 p.m. pomple boots. Now, I got a totally serious question for you. Yeah, that's what I do. Where did you learn that? That's a real question.
People that are organized, I'm very envious of that. That is a good... Well, I think because one time we, I don't know, there was probably some sort of thing where somebody was like, hey, do you want to do this on this date? And I was like, yeah. And then in the midst of working out the details, I committed to something else because it wasn't written on my calendar. Not remembering that I had tentatively committed something. So I was like, oh, if I put it there and put a question mark, I know it's not 100%, but I know if anything else comes up, I got to clear this thing up first before I go to the second thing. All right. I got another one for you. Okay. How do you do this one? All right. How do I... Riddle me this, baby. Why don't you just hire Skye? There are people... Let me tell you something. Remember when we first worked together? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've told her a million times. Let's say I got out of radio, okay, and I wasn't in radio anymore. And I had the financial means. Let's say that I somehow got into a career in being a movie director. And I was making a ton of dough and I was making movies and stuff and I wasn't in radio anymore. And I had professional people in the entertainment industry come to me and say, you need a personal assistant and I can tell you where to get one. I would say, don't need it.
Sky would be the person that I would call. And I would tell them, you can't have her. Because she's really good at keeping things organized. She's the best. It's the way her brain works. She's able to do that. Okay, so I got one for you. What's the question? How do I let my wife know when I'm making plans? Immediately send an email. Immediately? Immediately. Okay. I mean, here's the circumstance. I'm sitting in the office and I'm talking to Shauna. OK. And Shauna says, I need to meet with you at one o'clock on Thursday. And this is on Monday. So you're saying like I need to somehow because I will forget between the office and wherever I'm going. Yeah. Well, I know you guys have a community calendar that you don't use a household calendar that you're not good at using. Terrible. Terrible. For his community of his home. The worst. Well, and that's what I do at my house. We have a household calendar and anything comes up, I write it on there so we can check each other's, you know, stuff. And I don't know. Like really important things like her birthday.
Eddie always mocks my calendar in the office. That's awesome. It's like the most ridiculous thing she writes. He makes fun of me because I write things that I do on the weekend on my office calendar. She's not here. Sky, why do you put that? Well, because I put it because I have three different calendars and I will write everything on each of the calendars because if I'm at my computer, you know, a lot of calendars. Yes. And I have one for my purse, one for the home. And you do a thing where you're like, I write on all three of them. Yeah. You need a Blackberry, bro. See, if Ski had like a device like what I have, it'd be even better. See, when I tell you what I have, you're going to be like, dude, what's your excuse? Yeah. Because my Mac laptop, my Mac desktop, and my iPhone, if I put a calendar event in one of them, it syncs to the other ones automatically. I don't even have to do it, which is even worse. So it reminds you? No, it automatically puts it there. No, no, no, but when that date comes.
Does it, like, remind you? That's what I constantly use. I constantly use a feature on my calendar that emails me. Well, can you put... And, dude, I have to tell it to email me. I tell it to email me at 1 o'clock in the morning, okay? Like, for instance, okay? Let's say that today... That's so awesome. Let me tell you. Let's say that today my wife asked me to, if I could, stop at CVS and pick up some baby medicine, okay, for Jake. I would, and I'd say, when do you want me to do that? She would say Thursday. I would go into my calendar for Thursday and set up an email to email me at one o'clock Thursday morning so that when I woke up, there's an email that says it and my thick brain will go, oh yeah, but that's right. I have to go to CVS after work today. Dude, your thick brain sounds like me. Yeah, sure. Then I set a second reminder to email me. 15 minutes before that actually happens. And then I'll see it on my iPhone and go, oh, that's right. I totally forgot. But I have to go to CVS right now. And then I go. But it literally comes down to me having to email myself to remember the simplest things. Does your calendar, your online calendar have a feature?
like that you can have it email somebody else. When you make a change to your calendar, it emails that change to somebody else. That's brilliant. And you can have it email your wife anytime you make a change to your calendar. Oh, that's so smart. I think it does. Oh, I'm sure it does. I think it does. If it doesn't, patent pending. Okay, so how do I do the thing? I'm in the office. I'm talking to the boss and she says, I need to meet with you next week. On Thursday at 1 o'clock. You put it on your calendar and then it will automatically email Rebecca that you've made a change to your calendar. Honestly, how do I remember to put it on my calendar? You do it the second... You have to do it right then. I mean, you do it the second you're on the phone with her. You do it the second you read the email. If I'm in her office. You do it immediately. Do it on your phone. Do it on my phone. Blah, blah, bloop. Blah, blah, bloop. Rob, he writes everything on his hand. It's a true story. Everything. What do you have on there right now? Nothing for Hanberry. I didn't hear it. I didn't hear it. I thought it was pretty good. Hanberry's brilliant. I didn't hear it. What do you have on there? I was thinking of a joke because that's all I do now. Oh my god.
It's for my You Got Robbed. I know it. It's for my You Got Robbed, so I don't really want to. You don't want to reveal? Yeah. Yeah, okay. Mike, this is sort of like the arm bracelets that quarterbacks the NFL wear. So I can't, you know, I can't give you that info. Yeah, you do. Sarissa got me this thing that it's a temporary tattoo, and you put it on your hand, and it says to-do list on the top, and it has like six lines underneath, and it comes with a temporary. Pen. Whatever that is. I have an idea. I think that, what are those things called? Noty stickums? Notums? Postos. Postos. Stickum notes. Postos. They should come out with a glove. Dude, I said that like four years ago. Maybe that's where I got it. I said it like forever ago. Hey, does anybody notice? I'm sorry you didn't invent that. What, Rob? Wake up. You guys, does anyone notice that I sound depleted? Yeah, a little bit. Is anyone going to acknowledge? Are you all right? I haven't even eaten my hot pocket yet this fine morning. If one of you does not take note of my heroism. Maybe he's got ink poisoning.
Dude, yeah, you're like the guy from Entourage, only it's ink. They just wheeled Chaney out, dude. Chaney's in a wheelchair. You want to know why? Because he's hiding a gad under the blanket in his wheelchair? Probably. What's going on with Chaney? Chaney pulled a muscle in his back. Packing boxes. Because he's moving. They got people for you. I don't believe that. I'm sorry, I don't. According to his people, his doctor says that he recommends a wheelchair. Does it say what hospital he stays at? Why would it? I don't know if I'm allowed to say what I know. Like an old folks home? Does it mention the brand of bread he buys? I know stuff, Mike. I have some information. I don't know if I'm allowed to say it. Oh, you just... Come on, bro. You're so Hank Bauer right now. You're Hank Bauer-ing out. My brother's wife, Sana.
is a nurse. Come on, don't, you can't say stuff like that on the radio. That's the room you sweat in. You're not allowed to just make things up on the radio. N-N-E, that's her name. But she's a nurse, and I don't know if I'm allowed to say, you know. And she's a nurse for Chaney? No, she works at a hospital. That apparently he's at. Well, Mike. I don't know if I'm allowed to say that or not. Well. I don't know why not. Do you know why he was in the hospital? Well, she had told me over Christmas time. Remember when he went in over Christmas time? Yeah. So, like, that's his, that's his, for Thanksgiving. What did he, what was in there? Oh, man. Well, no, here's the deal. Apparently, we're going to attack Russia. I don't know, though. I don't know. Jamie told Sana. Jamie told Sana when she was changing it. He said that February 9th we're going to attack Russia. Can I say that? Plus he likes green jello. Not the red. Can I say that? He was all coked out. He shot a doctor in the face.
I didn't want to get her in trouble, but she said he had a heart attack, and they said, don't tell anybody. And so, I think that's okay to say on the radio, though. You need me to spell her last name, right? Okay. I'm just glad you're not focused on me anymore. Thank goodness the attention shifted from my withered body. Anybody have any fluids? Perrier stat. Where's the perrier? Sky, will you hold your palm under my chin and give me some perrier slowly? With an eye dropper. With an eye dropper. Trickle it into my mouth. Please rub some Vicks on my chest.

Headed to Frog's Fitness today, and I'm excited. You know, I'm excited because last night, I was sitting at the dinner table with my wife. And I had my arm or I had my right palm on my left shoulder. And I can feel a difference in my arm. That was awesome. Feeling a difference. You know, everybody at one time, you've probably worked out or lifted weights or whatever. I do not like killer whales, no. Okay. Sky. No, I have koozie gloves. Sean. I don't wear. Boston Rob. I got short term memory loss. And Ashley. I'm not that great anyways. I'm kind of crazy. The Mikey Show's on. Come on, thank you. Rock 105.3. Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of when I lived in Seattle and I was in a band. And in just that period of time, you know how you hear a song and it just all comes... What band was that again? Dutch Oven. You're so dumb. That was the name of the band. I remember. Dutch Oven. Runjera. Definitely. Can you not? I can't. I have to. I have to tell these parts of my life. You're very open.
I am. I'm very open about it. Dutch oven only stayed together for a year, and then they just kind of petered out. They kind of suffocated. Yeah, they just kind of, you know what I mean? Ridiculous. So, it's 7.58. What is that? Pete Wentz and Ashley Simpson have signed on to guest star on an upcoming episode of CSI New York. stupid. The U.S. submitted their potential roster for the World Baseball Classic, and get this, the Yankees' Derek Jeter and the Red Sox' Dustin Pedroia could be teammates. Oh, wow. When we did the He Who Smelt It, Delt It tour when I was in Dutch, Evan, that first tour, that was our first tour, it took the most out of me. How come?
Mikey. Oh, wait, wait, wait. This isn't yet, Mike. No. He just scolded himself right there. Yeah, Mike. Not yet. Put it in the calendar, bro. I'm worried about Rob. Where is he? Where did Rob go? Oh, there he is. Keys. What is wrong with him? He is a mess. Locking was on my keys, so I couldn't get back into the building. He locked himself out. I don't even know. He's a mess. He is a mess. What is going on? Kids, too much NyQuil. Make a note of it. Maybe don't take it in the morning. What's going on with him? You okay? Yeah. Well, detail was going to clean my car, so I told him I'd bring it around.
Giving my keys, not realizing that my way to get back in the building is on my keys. Walk all the way over here. Figure I had to wait a couple seconds, see if anyone's going to come in. No. I was like, what would Bear Grylls do? So I ate my shoe. I was starving. Built a shelter. Had a cigarette butts. Used my shoe string to fish. All right. Oh, man. Well, we're going to do something really incredible right now. Okay. We're going to do something really incredible. I'm ready. Because it's radio and we can do a lot of things that you can't do really anywhere else. We have a lot of technology at our disposal. A lot of technology at our disposal. Yeah. We are going to have Eddie go outside right now. Yeah. Get into a supersonic jet airplane.
Wow, okay. Fly to Cleveland. Okay. Get out of the airplane. Do a helicopter that flies at supersonic speeds. Oh, my gosh. And fly to Atlanta. Okay. Get into a high-speed railway system that will take him to Washington, D.C. Oh, my gosh. It's quite a journey. I just got an instant message from Eddie, and it says, I'm here. Wow. I don't know why you just didn't fly directly to D.C. Here's the thing. Here's the problem. Here's the problem. Here's the problem. You don't need to take it. The problem is, and this is what I want everybody to keep in mind. The problem is Washington, D.C. is thousands and thousands of miles from here. Okay. Yes. It's a long way away. Yeah, it's really far. And so even when you talk, you know, by telephone, just understand that sometimes there's a delay in us talking with one another and so that there may be a trouble and difficulty in communicating, but hopefully we don't have any of that. Okay. Just understand, Washington, D.C. is a long ways away. A long way away. On the phone with us right now is Eddie. And first off, Eddie, I know you're there in Washington, D.C. Thank you for joining us. Hey, guys, I'm here. I know.
This is a delay. Eddie, as you look over the crowd of two million people. Oh, the excitement is possible, Mike. Oh, no. That is a delay. Eddie, let me start again. As you look out over the crowd of two million people this morning, what are your thoughts on this historic moment? I'm glad to be here in Washington, you know, for the sixth. He's saying that after I said, Eddie, sorry. Oh, this is brutal. Eddie, are you? No, no, that's going to confuse me. No, go ahead, Mike. No, that's what I'm saying. Let me go to the next episode. Eddie. Please accept our apologies for the delay in hearing you. I'm having a hard time. Let me ask you this, Eddie. What sorts of things are Americans saying out there this morning? What are the people saying out there? Eddie, what are people... I already asked that. Oh, no. Eddie, we understand it's 8-degree wind chill out there this morning. So let me ask you a question about that in particular. No. Eddie, how are you dealing with the cold weather this morning out there? It is great excitement out here right now. Can you hear us? Eddie, with the 8-degree...
No, I have a jacket on. I don't know what exactly you want to know about the weather. Eddie, talk to us about... All right. I'll move on to that a little bit later. Let me go to the next one. Eddie, let me ask you about security out there today. I know that people... No, no, I'm not talking about the weather anymore. I already moved on. Let me ask you, Eddie. Eddie, if you... I'm sorry, I thought you were still talking about... No, no, no, no. No. Let me ask you, if I could, about something totally different. Just the environment. What are people like out there today? Yeah, go ahead and ask me something else. It seems like we've moved on from the weather. I asked him about security, but I don't know that he got that one. Let's move on then to just the people. What are people feeling out there today? No, no, no. How do people feel? How do people feel?
Forget that. Huge delay. Hey, thanks for being out there, Eddie. Sorry, go ahead. No. What are people feeling out there this morning? You know what? Forget it. Let's just wrap up. Hey, dude, thank you for joining us out there from D.C. People are very excited. I said, answer that one there. Okay. I guess this is going to happen at 9 o'clock Pacific. I'm sorry. I'm having a hard time with this. Forget it. Forget it. Forget it. This is going to happen at 9, right? You know what? Let's just wrap it up because if we don't, it's just going to go on forever. 9 a.m. All right. All right. All right. Thank you. All right, Eddie. We'll talk to you later. Come back. Get back on the high-speed railway and then take the helicopter to Cleveland and then get back on the airplane and come back here. All right. Thank you. That was Eddie. Okay. I'll come back. Hi, Eddie. All right, that was Eddie. He's out there in D.C. Now he's now getting on a high-speed railway to go to Atlanta, Georgia, where he will catch a helicopter that'll fly him to Cleveland, Ohio, where he will then get on a high-speed airplane. He's now, okay, so you can see now, we're watching on CNN Live. You see Eddie flying.
From Atlanta, he's making the flight. He just touched down there in Cleveland. Now he is getting on a jet airplane that will fly him at supersonic speeds. There he goes. Just past Arizona. And landed here at the radio station. And here he is. Eddie, good job. Good job, dude. That was fun. That was fun. Did you guys hear the delay? There was a delay. There was a minimal delay. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, the commute is winding down, but we're still seeing some tough spots out here. Watch for some leftover slowing in the westbound 8 this morning. That got hit with several accidents and a car fire. Now it's just a little bit tight from Lake Murray. Well, we're actually just right around Lake Murray through the area. Then you're back at the speed, and then a brief delay through Hotel Circle. West 94, just a minor delay in the downtown. You've got the 805 northbound and the 5, both looking great out of the South Bay. 805 does jam up the wide of Kearney Mesa, heading up over the 52. Things are breaking up out of Escondido and the South 15. Just some off and on brief delays here through Escondido from Auto Parkway to Felicita. The coaster rides South 5. That's still a struggle from Point City Lane in Carlsbad. Down past a couple of accidents. One near Lucadia Boulevard. The other one near Encinitas Boulevard. Once you get past Manchester, you're back up to speed there. And the westbound 56 still kind of jammed up here from Rancho Santa Fe Farms through Carmel Valley to the 5 Freeway. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwater 5.3. Did you hear that? The San Diego's Rock. My Mikey moment. You want to know what the real reason is that I'm not going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Why is that? It all goes back to 1979, Eddie. Oh, yes. Here you go, Neil. It was a wonderful year back in 1979. I was having a swinging time at one of those Hall of Fame after parties when I noticed that my fat manager, Maury, had eaten all the shrimp cocktail. Okay, well. Not again.
Since then, I've never been invited back. You are a cow. My little chubby wig wearing friend. You are so Viagra smoking you hog. Get this out of here. Get it away from me. Mikey's show continues. Rock 105.3. President. I'm in love with you. Drive a cab. Presidential caddy is the ball. Want one. It costs more than your house, probably. Seriously. I bet that presidential limo, I'd love to know what's in it. There must be so much machine gun power in that limo. It's totally bulletproof, too. Yeah. It can take a 50-cal round. Like, no problem. Are you for real? A 50-cal of a round? Sick. There's no way it can do that. Did you read that somewhere? No. Whoa.
Stupid. Oh, wow. Well, welcome back. I asked a good question. Sky said, what do you think the percentage chance that there would be an attempt on Obama's life? I said 50%. Today? Not today. No. I don't think today. During his time in office. Yeah, not a plot, but an actual attempt. My brother, who's the biggest Obama guy in the world, that's what he is most afraid of. Oh, yeah. It's scary. Because you know that there's wacky racists that are crazy. There's always a chance with any president, but this is the first black president. You'd almost think the odds are going to be really rough that nobody's wacky and trying to do it. Because they're wacky people. But I hope he's safe.
And I hope that today goes well and that today's good. Let me get going. Biden, Joe Biden, is, he was crunking with the Fly Girls. I saw it this weekend. Oh, no, no, no. No, that was Justin Timberlake. I get them confused. Every time. I always get them confused. You could use Joe Biden and Justin Timberlake on a daily basis. On a daily basis because they look so similar. Well, they don't. And they do like the same exact stuff. Well, they kind of dress the same. They both have swagger. Yeah. Eddie. You're a jerk, Eddie. Okay, that was such an awesome moment. What did he just do? He is so awesome. He is a jerk. That was so awesome. What did Edward Pomplepamp do? If we had a camera. I mean, are you proud of that? Eddie looks up. Look at that jerk. And on the TV, he sees a woman who's probably, you know, and I'm being conservative, 85 years old. Okay. 95. 95. They're wheeling her in. She's got a, like, shawl folded on her lap. It's probably like Biden's mother or something. Yeah. And Eddie looks up. He sees it. He looks at Skye and he mouths to Skye. As he points to the TV, he mouths to Skye.
What I'm doing today is being positive and excited and happy. Let's unite. After you insult me over and over and over again. You just winked at her. Like a cherry on the sundae right now. Let's unite. Unite no night. Here comes the other presidents. Carter's walking in with Rosalind Carter. And they're all bundled up. Eight degrees out there, man. It's crazy cold. It's really, really, really, really cold. I don't know where they can put all these people, man. They got to go to the bathroom. Although, you know, listen, this is like a big thing. You know, people are talking about this today, about how there's millions of people out there and there's only a few Johns. I mean, aren't we grownups, people? Hold it. I mean, aren't we grownups? For real. Don't drink.
before you get there. Do whatever it is you have to do. Don't they got that reflecting pool? Yeah. And listen, I was kind of irritated because I looked up and you see that there are people that are right up front for the inauguration. Dustin Hoffman. He's got like a front row center seat. What is up with that? He's got that Rain Man's disease. No. That was a movie. That was a movie. He's an actor. Yeah, he's an actor. He played the role where he had that. But he said it's only the role. Oh. For goodness sake. Just that one time. Here comes Clinton. Oh, look at that couple in love. Oh, dude. So in love. So in love. Who's that guy he's walking with? Honestly, watching Clinton and Hillary walk together right now is like, you know when the groomsmen and the bridesmaids don't know each other? Great call. And they're walking down the aisle. And they get paired together. So true. But they literally, literally met that week. At the rehearsal. At the rehearsal. Hi, I'm Bill. Hi, I'm Hillary. But you can call me Hillrod. Can't you pair me with somebody else? Yeah. Like Laura. Yeah. Do you have anyone younger? John McCain's wife. Sorry about that, Sean. No, he means a lot to you.
I know I meant a lot, too. That's a great American. I am a great American. Hey, I made one mistake, man. Hey, Sean. Don't. You would have done it, too. Oh, yeah. Come on, now. Why is Bush Sr. walking like that? Well, he's obviously got something wrong. Is he like Charlie Chaplin? Like, what is he doing? For goodness sake. He's the minister of crazy walks, man. That was awful to say. What just saying? Maybe you shouldn't say. That was really messed up, man. I don't want it to happen. I'd seen him walk like that before. What, without falling? Man, you guys. What? There's really something else. What's up? P1 Ranger Josh here. I bet Cheney's just trying to get workers' comp the last day. Ba-dum-boom. Yep. Eddie just heard about Gruden getting fired in Tampa. What happened? It's a P1 concrete cowboy. Some people may not know. Gruden got fired. What's the deal? I really don't know. I mean, that was a big shock.
And it was a big shock to Gruden and the general manager there who also got fired because they had just hired two new coaches that day. Really? Yeah. That's weird. That day they hired two new coaches and then they got fired. That is gnarly. Yeah. This text message says, Eddie saying, quote, what? Nothing for Hanbury? Nearly made me smell myself. P1 Whale Impaler, by the way. I couldn't let that one go. That's right. This text says, how do you tell your girl you're over it in a nice way? That's P1 Charger Junkie. What does that mean? How do you break up with her? Yeah. In a nice way? Tell her, listen. Singing Telegram. Barbershop Quartet. Barbershop Quartet. We break up. But we don't anymore. Anymore.
We don't love you anymore. Get your stuff out of my bathroom. We hate you. And you fart and you sleep. We may need a new fourth guy. That was really good, you guys. That was great advice. There you go. How do you tell her in a nice way? Say, listen, you know, it's time for change now. Now you go with the Obama deal, man. They're going to blame it on Barack Obama. Absolutely. You know? You say, hey. It's time for a new start for everybody in the country. Yes. Oh, that's good. I think we should start with us. That's right. Hit the bricks, pal, and beat it because you are going out. Or you could use that as your ringtone and call yourself. There is no nice way. Just be honest. I agree. Because the good news is you're fired. Isn't that more humane?
Like a band-aid, just rip it off? I think it's more humane to be honest than to have a poor girl or poor guy guessing. That's cruel, I think, to have somebody guessing. Or turn it into 20 questions. What do you mean? Like what? I got something to tell you. I'm going to give you 20 questions. Is it a gift for me? It is a gift. Is it? A gift? Is it a ring? Setting you free. Off, little bird. Fly, fly away. Yeah, I think you'd be honest. That's more humane to tell her and let her get it out of her system rather than make her guess or him guess. If you tell a dude, oh, I just, you know what? It's not you. It's me. Come on. Then he's going. There's something inside of him telling him that ain't true. And then he's wondering what the real deal is. Yeah. Tell him what it is about her. Rob. No. Wait. Well. But I thought you said, don't say it's not you, it's me. Well. So say it's not me, it's you. If it really is something about, if it really is something about it. Like, okay. I thought we were being honest. Give me an example of what it would be if it's her. Man, you.
Oh, I got one for you. Check it out. Okay, what if, what if, what if, what if, what if? Oh, my God. Rob's my favorite today. What if a dude had terrible breath or a girl had terrible breath and the guy was like, I can't do it. I got to break up. I got to break up. Yeah. It's tough. Like, how do you say, you listen, it's your humming breath. Your breath, dogs are barking. It's hard to say that. You just flick certs at her. It's the NyQuil, okay, you guys? Yeah, everyone. He's drinking it, by the way, straight from the bottle. So shouldn't he go home? That's super sweet of you. I mean, you guys don't want to get sick. No, no, no, no, that's thoughtful. So we should just, you know, friend and passion, like, for good. No, I think he's all right. I don't know why you're silently laughing at that, Ashley. I mean, I think he's fine.
He's having six teas today instead of four. Oh, that'll help. Great. The guy loves hot tea. Well, why don't we ask Ashley then because she's had some experiences with this. With what? With what? That was uncalled for, Ben. I don't even get it. That was uncalled for. You're a jerk, Rob. I don't even want to get it. I don't want to get it. Oh, you are an animal. Hold on. Hang on. I see jugular there. I'll bite it. And pounce. What about this? Who I'm going to play for you? Diddy? No, no. Come on, guys. Stop it. Today is a great day. He's depleted. It's a day of change. That's right. You're about to hear Diddy, George Lopez, Ava Longoria, Eva Mendes, Cameron Diaz. That's some Americans. Cameron Diaz, bro. Cameron Diaz.
Jason Bateman, and a couple other people I haven't mentioned. Jason Bateman. All right, so you guys got all these people that you're about to hear, right? All right. These are their pledges. Oh, don't play this. No, come on, dude. You can handle it. You can do it. This is so stupid. Their pledges for what? Let's listen. Oh, no. Cut 10. I pledge to reduce my use of plastic by starting with using less bottled water to plant 500 trees this year to help us get to be more green. To no longer use the plastic bags at the grocery store. To consume less and cultivate more. The look for the environment. I pledge to flush only after it is never a single. Come on. I pledge to turn the lights off. Because I used to leave lights on, but we want to conserve energy, so I'm going to turn the lights off. You turn the lights off. I pledge. I pledge to sell my obnoxious car and buy a hybrid. To drive slower and not use as much gas. Shut up. Shut up, all of you. Jerks. A bunch of millionaires. Why are they jerks? I used to leave every light in my mansion on just for fun. Whatever. Because I can afford it. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up.
You guys. Hold on. Who's that first jerk that's going to plant 500 trees? Yeah, I want to hold you to it, jerk. I'm holding you to it. I believe that was Diddy. No. No, it wasn't Diddy? Let's play it again. I pledge to reduce my use of plastic by starting with using less bottled water to plant 500 trees this year to help our planet. That was either Eva Longoria or Eva Mendes. Doesn't matter. Here's what I don't understand. You can't do that. Before Barack was president? But, guys, I don't get that. Oh, is that what they're doing? They're pledging because of Barack Obama? I don't know. I thought maybe they were asking him about that. Is it ever too late to make these pledges? Thank you. No, absolutely not. Well played, Mike. Well played. Sorry they want to do something nice. And we believe they're going to do all that? I hope so. Why not? Oh, wow. Well, I pledge to find a Pegasus this year and fly around on it, sprinkling fairy dust all over the place so global warming disappears. Planting a tree is impossible to do. We'll see if she does it. Let's see her do it. Ask ourselves, though.
You guys are ridiculous. Shouldn't we be asking ourselves whether or not we've made a pledge? Thank you, Phil. That's a great point. I mean, in order for us to criticize, shouldn't we be having a pledge ourselves? I've been doing it. What have you done? What have you done for our planet? I pledged to cut down all 500 dreams. Why are you a hater? I'm sorry. I stumbled on that one. Loose lip sync ships. I think it's awesome. Here's what I ask myself. You're a hater. I do. I hate the Hollywood elite. Acting like they're one of us. You're not.
How are they acting like they're one of us? Oh, I plan on getting rid of my obnoxious car and buying a hybrid. Really? Those hybrids that none of us can buy because they're all sold out? And they're expensive. And they're super expensive? That's what you're going to buy? See, I think, too, the deal is that the Hollywood elite, they're in this position where they've achieved such a level of success. that there's a couple of things working guilt there's a guilt of like wow look at all that i have and then there's this other thing of like well you know what i can afford to be absolutely i can afford it you know what my house in uh aspen it's a little place called aspen that's right thank you for uh thank you for having my back It's where the beer flows like wine. That's right. Don't encourage this, Sean. You're better than that. Come on. My Aspen house, I'm going to go to that, you know, toilet paper that conserves paper. Yeah. And I'm going to get rid of one of my cars. Right. One of your eight cars. Yeah, but I'll get rid of one. Stop it. You're so dramatic. I was going to do that anyway. I was going to do that anyway. I'm going to stop wiping. Yeah.
Why not? You guys are so weak. You know what? I'm going to turn the lights off. Oh, congratulations. I already do that. Congratulations. See, a lot of people may be turning the lights off because they can't afford to have the lights all on all the time. I'd love to plant 50 trees, but I work for a living. So if you planted one a weekend, you couldn't accomplish it in 2009. I'll do that when you do that. You know how expensive it is to get a treat up there? I'm not the one making the claim that I can't do that. You're the one saying that it's impossible. I'll do it when you do it. That is a wink. You are so weak right now. You are weak sauce. Eddie is so bruised right now. Eddie is so bruised right now, Skyrim. He's bruised all over the place. I don't care what you call me. I'm right. You are not right. You're so wrong and you're a hater and I think it's great that they're trying to do good things. And everything except for one of those things they mentioned. We'll see Eva Longoria out there planting trees. Dude, I don't care if she pays someone to plant trees. That's great.
Just do it. Why do you got to make a movie video out of it? Because I'm sure somebody asked her. I don't think she was like, oh, please, let me make a movie video. Somebody probably was like, hey, can you give us your green pledge? Can't they just be unsung heroes? No, they can't. They can't. They're such... do-gooders. Oh, shut up. I think what they're trying to do is inspire everyone else, which is what they're doing. They're doing a great job of it. Inspire them by going out there and doing it, and maybe someone pick up on it. That's what they're saying. Yeah, that's what they're saying. Yeah, let's see you do it, and then maybe I'll be inspired. Actions louder than words, man. Okay, well, some people will be inspired by their words. Some will be inspired by their actions. Wrong. So we can wait for them to do it so that you can be inspired. But for the rest of us who are inspired by words, we'll be inspired by what they just said. I would like to. I would. I'd like to do something. Seriously, I'll do it. Oh, no. Obviously, Mike, you're a celebrity whore. And, oh, you're just trying to get out there. But he's not. That's the point. Oh, Mike. Oh, Mike. No one asked, Mike. Oh, why do you have to put it all over the radio, Mike? Oh, you're such a rich, elite guy. Well, it's good for the country, though. Oh, no, Mike. No, Mike.
have to hate on you because you want to do something nice. You're so rich and you're so elite. I'm just trying to be good to the unsung hero. I'm not trying to show up. Alright, forget it then. See what happens? Mike, you tried to do something nice. The Hollywood elite just urinates all over it. The Hollywood elite jumps all over it and just stomps on it. Typical Democratic attitude. Brutal. All of it. Oh, Sean, can I come to San Francisco with you? Together you guys can be Johnny Appleseeds and planting trees all over the country. Why is that so terrible? Because you don't do it.
I planted plenty of trees. You talk about it, but you don't do it. I planted a lot of trees in 2000. Skye, you just laughed when you started saying that. I did. You landscaped your beautiful house that you bought. And we included a lot of trees. That's what you did. We included a lot of trees. We planted a lot of trees. That's a little different. That's not different. But you guys. I could have put a pool in. I mean, like, no, we put a lot of trees and vegetables. But a pool is not going to add too much value to the house. But you guys, doesn't Demi Moore kind of get it? Cut one. To me, this all means that there is a different level of consciousness come to our country. What does it mean? Well, I agree with you, first of all, completely. I feel like I am living a dream. Don't cry. I feel like I am... I'm going to get emotional. No, don't. Because it's taken a while to get here. This is the first time that we've had a black president. Okay, what has he done? My childhood. It's a dream, kind of a dream come true for her. A white chick? A rich white chick? And unity that I just feel so much gratitude for my children to be experiencing. Shut up, G.I. Jane. Go Planetary. That was great.
She probably will. Yeah, right. Probably will. Well, I pledge to not pay my electric bill and just have my electricity shut off. You do that anyway. Yeah, you're trying to take credit for what happens naturally. That's not really fair. At all. Well, then I'll never flush again. I don't believe that. Take that, America. You're welcome. Has anyone seen the cap to my NyQuil? 5701053 is our number. Our text number is 35253. Hey, we're going to be talking to the reporter that we have out there at the inauguration, right? Yep. I'm sorry I can't be happy for the country. I'm sorry that's such a horrible thing. Hey Mike, did you get any texts? Yeah, this is actually the first time I've laughed like, I don't know, in the past couple days. That's not true. Mike, I swear I put some text over there.
Will you shut your Michael face? 35253 is our text number. Hey, Mike, maybe Ashley can pledge to stop flooding her apartment to help out the environment this year. How many years ago was that? Will you people let it go? About three. Stop eating. Maybe even three and a half. It's a beautiful day. Let's love one another, you jerks. This text message. Save that clip. Thank you, Sky. Mikey, thank goodness for Rob and Eddie. I would have fallen asleep during the Hollywood farce if not for them. Farce, please. It's people in Concrete Cowboy. Mikey, there are more pledges. I was just sitting here. Eating my Pringles. Yeah. I was sitting here barefoot eating Pringles. Y'all do that. Y'all attack me. I was having a sweet team vodka and y'all just got sucked for no reason. Just started. With this cool bendy straw. What's up? Three and a half. Use the moistness. Use the moistness. Here he comes. Oh, he's so... You gotta put this up so it's what God does. I think Eddie said it, though, man. Eddie was like, dude, I think it's cool, you know? It's amazing. He goes, hey, it's amazing. I love it. But, you know, people are sort of...
There is a little bit of a worshipping going on. They're anointing him the next Messiah, and he's not done one thing yet. And that's where I go, I get annoyed. And I'm like, come on, let the guy get in there and do something before we're like, oh, he's great, he's amazing, and he hasn't done anything yet. Well, listen to what Mariah said. Okay. Mariah Carey, cut 19. Do a hero because I felt like that's the most appropriate song for him for this moment. I am nervous. I get very nervous before things like this, but I'm not going to allow myself to get nervous because I want to be able to do a proper tribute for the moment. I do feel especially drawn to him. The fact that he is mixed race and I do identify with that, and that's a very difficult thing to be. So to see what he's overcome, you know, in every aspect of his life is just tremendous. He overcame the richest part of Hawaii.
The island of Oahu in a very, very upper middle class neighborhood. Without a father. Was he a fireman of Barack Obama? Was he a fireman? Why did he say? Because she said she thinks he's a hero. He is a hero to the African-American. To the African-American community, he is a hero. He's achieved something that no one else in their community ever has. And that's heroic that he's. Yeah, that he's fought to get there. Yeah, that is heroic. Who did he fight? Fedor. John McCain. Yeah. Kicked his ass. Yeah, that was like fighting. That wasn't a very fair fight. That ain't right. Get out of here. Vice President-elect. Ladies and gentlemen. You guys, my Aunt Judy. The inauguration of the United States of America. You guys think it's appropriate for Barack to be smoking a cigarette right now? I don't think that's appropriate. I don't think it's appropriate. Transition of power. Here on the National Mall.
Where we remember the founders of our nation and those who fought to make it free. We gather to etch another line. You think they have speakers that go all the way to the back? I mean, we're talking a quarter of a mile. That's crazy. To choose its leaders. Of human humanity. Of human. Of human. Well said. With violence. We come here. Every four years to bestow the power of the presidency upon our democratically elected leader. Oh, those precocious Obama kids. They are so adorable. Those who doubt the supremacy of the ballot. What's the deal, Eddie? Too precocious? I'm over it. I'm sorry. I'm over the Obama kids. Too precocious. Too precocious. They are super cute. It's so funny. This is a gigantic moment. I bet you that those kids are bored. It's been five minutes. They want out of there so bad. They gotta be. They're kids. Yeah, I'm just saying, kids. It's just funny being a kid. Even when your dad is being sworn in as president of the United States, you're just like... Three million people there. Three million people. You're like, I just want to play Wii. I just want to get out of here and play with my Wii. In our nation, they will look back. There's Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton preparing to not know one another. This was the moment.
When the dream that once echoed across history. I got to tell you, you know. I just self-edited. Smart. Today is a good day for all Americans. I can't believe how many people are there. That is incredible. That's impressive. We pledge ourselves to the hope, the vision, the universe. Let it go. Not one person there will plant a tree. Bunch of jokers. Every person there will talk about planting a tree. God bless America. And they will make me feel guilty for not planting a tree. I just wish one person there would fart because that would be hilarious. I bet you there's a lot more than one. Not a Seth. That's just unhauled for. I mean, on a day like today. Stay like today. Now this is a controversial thing. Rick Warren, big time Christian, given the invocation. Everything we see and everything we can't see exists because of you alone. It all comes from you. It all belongs to you.
It all exists for your glory. History is your story. The scripture tells us, Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God. The Lord is one. And you are the compassionate and merciful one. And you are loving to everyone you have made. Why didn't they have Obama's pastor? Not a day. His peaceful transfer of power for the 44th time. Not his pastor any longer. What? We celebrate a hinge point of history. I didn't know. With the inauguration of our first African-American president of the United States. Heart, what? Rick, we are so grateful to live in this land. A land of unequaled possibility. We're the son of an African immigrant. can rise to the highest level of our leadership. And we know today that Dr. King and a great cloud of witnesses are shouting in heaven, give to our new president, Barack Obama, the wisdom to lead us with humility, the courage to lead us with integrity, the compassion to lead us with generosity. Bless and protect him, his family.
Vice President Biden, the cabinet, and every one of our freely elected leaders. Help us, oh God, to remember that we are Americans, united not by race or religion or blood, but to our commitment to freedom and justice for all. An interesting shot. When we focus on ourselves, when we fight each other, when we forget you, forgive us. When we presume that our greatness and our prosperity is ours alone, forgive us. When we fail to treat our fellow human beings and all the earth with the respect that they deserve, forgive us. As we face these difficult days ahead, may we have a new birth of clarity in our aims, responsibility in our actions, humility in our approaches.
and civility in our attitudes, even when we differ. Help us to share, to serve, and to seek the common good of all. May all people of goodwill today join together to work for a more just, a more healthy, and a more prosperous nation and a peaceful planet. And may we never forget that one day all nations and all people will stand accountable before you. We now commit. our new president, and his wife, Michelle, and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, into your loving care. Did he have to say it like that? I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life, Yeshua, Isa, Jesus, Jesus, who taught us to pray, our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. with a Mikey moment. Listen. This is ridiculous. It is not. It isn't hard. It isn't hard. You're not getting chickens. I'm going to get them, dude, and I'm going to bring you guys eggs. No, I don't want them. I'm going to bring you guys eggs. I think your aquarium is enough for you. I think that's all you can handle. We're buying a cow, too. No, don't be dumb. We're going to get half a cow. Come on, don't get crazy. With what, your magical beans? The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. It's the Mikey Show. It is 9.02. Today's the big day. In just a few minutes, Barack Obama will be sworn in as our 44th president. Willis McGehee, the Baltimore Ravens running back, checked out of the hospital and is okay. Doctors say he will make a full recovery. How many people are interested in seeing Barack Obama be inaugurated today? Well, Zeth went on CNN.com, wanted to watch the live feed. Yeah. Never seen this before.
What did it say, Zeth? It said, we reserved your place in line. Please hang tight. We will bring the video up in a couple minutes. Too many people. That's nuts. Too many Americans. And probably people from around the world, actually. Oh, yeah. The Irish tennis. These are not Irishmen. Far from it. That's one of the people there is Yo-Yo Ma. Yo-Ma. And Yo-Yo Ma. Yanni. That's Yo-Yo, Yo-Yo Ma. Zamfir? Nope. A different person? That's the master of the pamphlet. Solstice? No. That's Sean's... Never said it like that. Nope. They were influenced by Tangerine Dream. That's true. Same thing, right? And the Alan Parsons Project. Oh, okay. Those are two bands that they most were influenced by. Oh, look at those kids. Kids are over it. All right. Andres Vollenweider. Great.
If you like her so much, why don't you go and bite her? This is what I call boring music. 7-4, please. Go ahead and push that button for me. I'm sure all the people who have been standing for hours are stoked for this. They're digging it. This is a good time to try to get to one of those bathrooms for 500 people. Thank you. Yo, yo, ma. That was Yo-Yo Ma performing the 6th Symphony Orchestra's overture. And President-elect Obama reaching into his pocket and pulling out a Marlboro light. He's using a lighter that was last used by Grover Cleveland.
President Adams used to keep his weed in there. These are fun facts. These are all facts about today. Here it is. Obama just, like, just kind of, you know, giggled. Are you prepared to take the oath, Senator? I am. I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear. I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear. I know. That I will execute the office. President to the United States faithfully. And I will execute. Faithfully, the president of the United States. The best of my ability. The best of my ability. Reserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. You said Spider. Will you stop pausing? Congratulations, Mr. President. Two words. Nah, he didn't even say it all. That was not historic at all. That was not historic.
It's over. It's historically bad. That was it. That was it. And now he'll give a speech. It better be better than that. Holy moly. Can you... Two words at a time. I what? Barack what? Obama. I can relate. You know what it's like. We're the same. We're the same. You're done here, buddy. Can you just give it... You give it to me? All right. Come on. Embarrassed. I mean... It was the most unsmooth swearing in ever. It was awful. Yeah, he should have practiced. You've got to practice it. You've got to practice it. Get him a teleprompter. Well, listen. Can't fault him. It's got to be so... The nerves have got to be so crazy. Oh. I'm surprised he hasn't thrown up. I'm wondering how this speech is going to... I know. Do we want to do a hope counter beforehand? Yes. Hope counter. What do you guys... Drinking game. Every time he says hope, shot. What do you think? Over or under five?
I don't know, but what do me and Ashley do? How do we play? This one time you guys can play. Okay, fine. All right. President of these United States, Barack Obama. And if we could, just out of respect, not mention his middle name again for the rest of this day. Just to be cool, okay? If we can just all be cool. Thank you. I'm in power now. My fellow citizens. I stand here today by the task before us, grateful for the trust you've bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition. 44 Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity.
and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often, the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because we, the people, have remained faithful to the ideals of our forebearers and true to our founding documents. So it has been So it must be with this generation of Americans that we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost.
Jobs shed. Businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly. Our schools fail too many. And each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet. These are the indicators of crisis. Subject to data and statistics, less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land. A nagging fear that America's decline... It's inevitable that the next generation must lower its sights. Today, I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America, they will be met. We gather because we have chosen hope over fear. Take a shot. Unity of purpose. There it is. First one, right? Over conflict and discord. On this day.
We come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn-out dogmas that for far too long have strangled our politics. We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit, to choose our better history, to carry forward that precious gift. That noble idea passed on from generation to generation. The God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness. Affirming the greatness of our nation. We understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of shortcuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the fainthearted, for those who prefer leisure over work. or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things. Some celebrated, but more often men and women obscure in their labor who have carried us up a long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom. They packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life. For us.
They toiled in sweatshops and settled the West. Mike. Endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth. Ramsey. For us, they fought and died in places like Concord and Gettysburg, Normandy, and Quezon. Time and again, these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions. Greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction. This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive. Our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. A second with that. Our goods and services are less needed.
Because we can get them in China for half the price. And that's a fact. Skype. Okay. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions, that time has surely passed. Mike, stop making sense. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America. There is work to be done. Oh. Times Square. They just did a shot of Times Square. It's packed. They're watching it in Times Square. Not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost.
We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories, and we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do. There are some who question the scale of our ambitions, who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short, for they have forgotten what this country has already done. what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose and necessity to courage. What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them, that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works, whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.
Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. And those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day. Because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government. Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched. But this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control. The nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity, on the ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart, not out of charity.
but because it is the surest route to our common good. As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our founding fathers, our founding fathers faced with perils that we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man. A charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still like the world. And we will not give them up for expedience sake. And so, to all the other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born, know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity. And we are ready to lead once more. Generations face down fascism and communism, not just with missiles and tanks.
But with the sturdy alliances and enduring convictions, they understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use. Our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint. We are the keepers of this legacy. Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats. that demand even greater effort, even greater cooperation and understanding between nations. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat and roll back the specter of a warming planet. We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense. And for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents,
We say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken. You cannot outlast us and we will defeat you. For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this earth. And because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass, that the lines of tribes shall soon dissolve, that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself, and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace. To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward.
based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict or blame their society's ills on the West, know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history, but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist. To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow, to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to the suffering outside our borders, nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.
As we consider the road that unfolds before us, we remember with humble gratitude those brave Americans who at this very hour patrol far off deserts and distant mountains. They have something to tell us, just as the fallen heroes who lie in Arlington whisper through the ages. We honor them not only because they are the guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service, a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. And yet at this moment, a moment that will define a generation, it is precisely this spirit that must inhabit us all for as much as government can do and must do. It is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies. It is the kindness to take in a stranger when the levies break. The selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend lose their job, which sees us through our darkest hours.
It is the firefighter's courage to storm a stairway filled with smoke, but also a parent's willingness to nurture a child that finally decides our fate. Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends, honesty and hard work, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism. These things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility. A recognition on the part of every American that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world. Duties that we do not grudgingly accept, but rather seize gladly.
Firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit. So defining of our character. And giving our all to a difficult task. This is the price and the promise of citizenship. This is the source of our confidence. The knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny. This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed. Why men and women and children of every race and every faith. can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than 60 years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath. Mark this day with remembrance of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people. Let it be told to the future world that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive, that the city and the country, learned at one common danger, came forth to meet it. America!
In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested, we refused to let this journey end. That we did not turn back, nor did we falter. And with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us. We carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations. Thank you. God bless you. And God bless the United States of America. That was good. Hey, listen, you guys know me. I'm all about my faith, and I support Barack Obama. I will support Barack Obama for me. Right out of the Bible. It says, obey the government, for God is the one who put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. God put him there. This is the Mikey Show. Get downloads and podcasts at rock1053.com. I went in there with my fiance about three weeks ago. We're not getting married for like five and a half weeks. I mean, sorry, five and a half months. And they're holding it for us for five and a half months before we get married. That's rad. Yeah, so, and I haven't heard anybody talk about that, so. That's pretty awesome. Yeah, it was way awesome. And on top of that, we got like, I think it was like a thousand bucks off the deal because we found one on the internet. It was like pretty crazy. That's awesome, dude. Just go into a sleep train center. Anybody should go into a sleep train center if they're looking to buy a new bed. That's fantastic. Thank you for the call. Yeah, no problem. Bye. Sky, you ever been to a 3D movie? Really? No, I think one time I tried to do some sort of 3D thing like on TV. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They did do that. Like a special or something. I remember that, but I don't remember what it was. Yeah, well, they're doing something for the Super Bowl. It's some new movie, right, that they're doing a 3D commercial for. Really? Where do you get the glasses? Oh, this guy is so loud. Oh, jeez. What next? I mean, what next? Am I already working today? You know what I mean? Because we can give a girl.

Except Obama's got on those, he's got on those, what's his name, isotoners that Dan Marino advertises. Obama.
You don't know how many cows died for those cows? A lot. An awful lot. Brutal. That's right. My Aunt Judy's up again. She's saying some more stuff to the crowd. Good for her. That's really nice. You guys ready for something a little different? I figured we'd do something a little bit different here for you. What's some of this? The Monkey Show now presents Ashley's Fitzgerald Facts. What? What the hell is this? What would the Super Bowl... Only a couple weeks away now. Less than two weeks away. As you know, Ashley really loves Larry Fitzgerald. Number 11, Arizona Cardinals. He's really the only player she knows. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me, Mike. I'm not kidding. That's a lot. Ashley just said he's the best thing that's ever happened to her. Wow. I would think that would be the invention of cookies. Yeah, I would too. You know what I mean? He thought wrong. Okay, fair enough. What do you got, Ash? Oh, well, for the P1s who don't know and should know, Larry Fitzgerald, when he was just a boy at a young age of 15, was the ball boy for the Minnesota Vikings for three years. Is that right? That is true. I did not know that. And not only that, but he literally taught the catchers how to catch. Because even at the young age of 15... All receivers taught the catchers how to catch. All receivers. I knew what she meant. The receivers...
Even though he was at the young age of 15, he was still better. That's not true. Than the Minnesota Vikings. Thank you very much. He was. No. He didn't teach Randy Moss and Chris Carter how to catch the football. I didn't know that, Ashley. I did not know that. Right in your face. She was personally correct. I didn't know that. Larry Fitzgerald was better than the professionals that were playing for the Minnesota Vikings. Don't you think they should be factual? That's cool. Mike. Yes. I got a little... Boston Rob Palamalu point of interest. Okay, wait. Okay, can you never do that again? Never do that again. Why is he stealing a thunder? Although I do want to hear this. Can he stop? What's your Palamalu point of interest, Boston Rob? Mike, did you know that this sexy Samoan... Plants five trees a week. Not only that, but he takes a daily CPR class. He does. Just in case there is ever a choking baby on the sideline. And that was your Boston Rob.
Paul Amalu, point of interest. Interest. Interest. Interest. Interest. That was really good, you guys. Do you guys think that on a day such as today that it's hard to say goodbye to President Bush? You know. Of course. He looks sad. Yeah, that's right. Somebody's got some bad breath. This one's for the ladies. That was me. What's up? So goodbye to a guy who's not so smart. Your VP shot a guy in the face and made us laugh. We thought you'd be our chief forever. You ruined It's not hard to say goodbye to George Bush. That was my favorite part. Kanye West thinks you hate black folks. You sound great, by the way. Thank you. Thank you. Is it your favorite part? It's my favorite part. You're killing it. It's not hard to say goodbye to George Bush. That must be it.
Answer is just a memo. It's not to say goodbye to George Bush. I think it's over now for real. Speaking of President Bush, did you hear that there was some violence at the Notorious B.I.G. movie? Wait, what is that? How does that correlate? Because he's into that music. I don't understand. Yeah, yeah, that's what I thought. I've never heard that. That is odd. What's the deal? Well, yeah. So, you know, the Notorious B.I.G. movie came out on Friday. It's called Notorious. And there were a lot of viewing parties over the weekend. And at one of the after parties after the movie was over, a fight broke out and four dudes were stabbed and had to be hospitalized. Was it Tupac? No, it wasn't. It was impossible. Too soon. Definitely, I'd say too soon on that one.
Yo, who be calling? I be calling. What's up, Barbara? Hey, guys, it's Barbara. What are you doing? What do you think I'm doing? I'm popping the top on a champagne and Viki because today's a big day for Barack Obama. Oh, okay. Well, that's... I don't know that you should say that, but... That's right. Okay. I'm happy. He's black. I'm black. And what else can you do, you know? I was just looking out onto the backyard here in Rancho Santa Fe today, and I was thinking to myself, it just is a proud day to be a black woman today for me. Really? I don't know how you sound so... Well, I'm not, so you know. I remember one time, guys, I was at the La Costa Resort and Spa, and I was getting my massage on. Okay, sounds ghetto. When they brought me...
It's hard to talk about because I just remember it and it hurts, but they brought me a Bloody Mary instead of a mimosa. That is what was... And I looked at that waiter and I said to him, look here, home skillet. Just because I'm hood, don't give you the right to treat me like some second-rate Snoop Dogg, okay? I said that to him. I didn't have any problems after that, but these are the types of struggles that I have to deal with. Way to stand up for yourself, Barbara. Um, okay. So we're talking about the movie Notorious. Yeah. Oh, did you see it? I knew Biggie, actually, Eddie. Really? Oh, my gosh. He had a thing for me. Really? Notorious B.I.G. had a thing for you. Oh, yeah. Oh, really? And I told him I was too street for him, and he understood that. Okay. I don't understand that. I'm not buying that. Okay. I said, Big, you can't handle this. Uh-huh. And then I started seeing Tupac, which led to the whole East Coast-West Coast rivalry. I don't know. You were the start. I actually started the East Coast-West Coast rivalry. Really? Is that sick? Sorry, let him run in the back. My masseuse just got here. Oh, wow. You guys, I remember at the premiere of the movie Colors, one of my homegirls and I, we got jumped in. Jumped in what? To a gang. It was so brutal. The wonderful thing is...
Things worked out. We're now both ahead of our HOAs. Wait, you got jumped into an HOA? That's crazy. I don't know how it works. It is how it works when you're street, like me. In Rancho Santa Fe. In Rancho Santa Fe. And she's a great girl. Her name's Lucy, and she's actually applying for a real estate license today, and her husband just got her a brand-new Mercedes GL 550 to take Bryson to soccer. Is this your black friend? My black friend. We're both black. Yeah, I'm not sure that that's... I feel you guys on this one, though. Did I ever tell you guys about the time that Tupac and I popped a cap in some bleeps at the premiere of Boys in the Hood? No, I haven't heard that. Ever tell you guys about that? No, you haven't. Well, we had tickets because my husband had just closed his second land acquisition with his friend Jeff Michaels for Michaels Construction. I'm so scared. Really? Okay. And he had an extra pair of tickets. And so, dot, dot, dot. Barbara. You know, I told all my homies to be cool, but we drank too many 40s at the movie. And some crackers started popping off. And we had to set him straight, right? So my date at the time, Lou Gossett Jr. was all freaked out and everything. And I told him. I thought she went with Tupac and she was married. Different movie premiere, white girl. And I said to him. I told him. I said. I go. I'm all.
If you want to roll with me, sometimes... Hang on a second. Are you saying this to Lou Gossett Jr.? I said to Lou Gossett. I said. I told him. This is your date. Yeah. I'm sorry. I have a tickle in my nose. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. In your nose. Cocaine. I said to him. Oh, my. I told him if he wanted to roll with me that sometimes I would have to take some fools out and he got used to it. Oh, wow. Way to lay down the law there, Barbara. What the hell are you talking about? What I'm talking about, Eddie, is that we elected the first black president today. Get it? Got it? Good. You're talking nonsense, lady. Are you awesome? Yes. The other night, my homegirl Mary Ellen and I. Mary Ellen. Black girl, I know. We were rolling through the hood in my drop top, and these fools tried to roll up on us talking all kinds of nonsense, and I was all, you know, I had to get out my gat and let the gat do the talking because I'd rather be judged by my 12 than carried by a 6, if you know what I'm saying. I didn't understand. Guys, I don't need to go see that notorious B.I.G. movie. Why?
Because, you see, that's the kind of life that I already live. You understand what I'm saying? It doesn't sound like it. Because I live it every day. And if you don't believe me, yes. And if you don't believe me, Scott, just come over and check out my scrapbooks. Because let me tell you something. They will tell the whole. Yeah, man, they are messed up, dude. Covered in blood. And they're just like. That's stupid. Barbara, you really own something today. Oh, my God. I'm really celebrating too much. Okay, come on. What's up? Bad, bad. A lot. Lots of bad today. You guys. What, Barbara? Ain't no thing to shank a fresh dizood. What? You have lost your mind. You're pulling nonsense. You guys, this one time I was watching House Party 3. And this dude started calling the movie play-by-play like he was John Madden or something. And so I took out my mascara and I stuck him. Mascara? Yes. That's interesting, Barbara. That one cost me six stitches, yo. Really? And one teardrop below my eye. Okay. And I have three teardrops. Oh, do you? For all your mascara stabbings. It's that.
And this other time... Thank you for calling Domino's. May I help you? This is the Mikey Show. So you're the guy who pooped in my tuba. Raymond McKinney was walking to his car after perusing the local gardening center when he saw it. Yeah, yeah, it had huge eyes and it wouldn't stop staring at me. A stack of money was staring at him. Yeah, yeah, it had these big googly eyes on it and it wouldn't stop looking at me. Practically looking through him. Uh, yeah, yeah, I guess. I mean, anyway, I thought my shoes were untied or... That wasn't it. Nope, nope, and then I thought maybe it was my new haircut. You know, it's just kind of this new style, it's like a bulk. And that wasn't it either, was it, Raymond?

Well, it's K-I-O-Z San Diego. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. And I say hit it. Not bad. Could have been better. It's pretty good. It's kind of like Barack's speech. Oh, no. A little boring. You're a party pooper. Oh, please. Ladies and gentlemen, this just in. Tom Brokaw here. What's up? I have it on good authority that they are beginning the demolition inside the White House to begin making a basketball court. Oh. Presidential basketball is being made at this moment with the finest leathers from the finest cattle that can be found. Oh, no.
They will be slaughtering them later today to make the leather and tan the leather by halfway through next month. They should be presenting President Obama with his new basketball. And there we go. The first black president ever. Wow. All right, Tom. Really puts it in perspective. I remember the first time... I remember the first time a black president moved into my neighborhood. And like most Americans, I experienced trepidation. Okay. But upon getting to know them, I found that they were just like everyone else. Really? Putting their pants on one leg at a time. That's true. I remember the father, Mr. Huxtable, was a surgeon. No, no. TV show. And he was an OBGYN. Yeah. Oh, that's right. He was a gynecologist. What's that? He was a gynecologist. Graphics sing his love with women. That's right. According to President Bush. What a day, guys. I'll tell you what. Wow. It's been a doozy. Historical. That's right. There's a hero. Oh, get it, Mike. Well said.
I threw away my news page. Oh, no. Well. What did I do with it? I think I threw it away. What did I do with it? I don't know. Maybe. What just happened? Tom Brokaw just became British. Okay. You don't know what you did with it, man. This show's the best. I didn't throw it away. What happened to it? Somebody else threw it away. Somebody stole it. Really? I found it. Covered in spaghetti. In the trash can. In the trash can. That is so gross. They're building a new... Ooh, this stinks. They're building a new marinara sauce? Yeah. They're building a new hotel. Oh, look. President Obama is doing something. What is he saying? And... Here we go. And we're at war.
Yeah, send orders to invade Prague. Yes. Start out with a win, guys. Documents call for continuity of government. Everyone was very uncomfortable when he just said that. He's warning that he's left-handed. Another lefty. Another left-handed. By my count, the last four. This might be... Of course, my religion believes that everybody left-handed is the devil. Broke off. That's just a fact from my youth. Is this a fun fact? I'll never forget their fishing, fly fishing there in Montana when my father told me, Tom, if an African-American ever becomes president and is left-handed, run, run, run. Okay. Interesting. ...and sign the documents of government. Again, that first set, all part of the great euphemism continuity of government. He's got to sign a document that says, yes, I'm president. Really? That is unbelievable to me. That's trippy.
That's trippy. Sign on the dotted line. How else will anybody know? It's going to be legal. You guys are right. Right? I wonder if the pay has changed for presidency at all. With inflation, it has to. Right? Oh, for sure. I haven't heard about it. Last I knew, it paid $200,000 a year. No, last I knew, it was $400,000. Really? Uh-huh. Dude. I don't think it's that much. I don't think it's that much either. Rob is making up facts. Rob is making up facts from MakeEmUps.com. MakeEmUpFacts.com. This guy got 12 million. Yeah, dude. No, I heard they would make him 12 mil. He's got Scott Boris as his agent. Yeah. No, dude, I heard they also get the Knicks. Right, yeah. Every new president. That's awesome. 12 mil in the Knicks. Sky, what do we got? Let's see. I'm on there. Oh. As president, Barack Obama is entitled to a salary of $400,000 a year. I apologize. I read stuff. Read books, kids. $400,000? That's in a book? Are you telling me that is in a book? What book is that? It was an online book. Salaries.com? Yes. That's weird. It says George Washington got $25,000 in 1789. Oh, dude, that is seriously, I think that's a lot. And they said since then, the presidential salary has only been increased five times.
When did they increase it to four? Pretty big jumps. Like last Bush? No, no, no. It was within the Bush administration. I was going for a mill. I was trying to get this bill passed. He had three wives. Didn't go through. Senator from New York wouldn't vote for it. That's weird. She's a stickler. That's right. Let's see. Mikey, did the classical music bring tears to your eyes? That's P1 Instigator. That is a legitimate question. It is. It's rude. He was well enough. Yeah, I saw it. I saw it. It's only Rachmaninoff that does that, and it was when I was 12. Rachmaninoff. Rachmaninoff. It's an easy way to remember it. What's that? You got to say it funny. Okay. I had to do that like three times after you announced that to everyone. All right.
Did you guys know? Are you okay? I love him. Are you okay? He is so good. Let me break out the Casio. Here we go. One goes out to Mike. Beautiful. That's gorgeous music, isn't it? It really is. If you guys were 12, you'd start crying. I would. Probably. Or not. Or maybe you wouldn't, you know? Thinking about Christopher Reeve. Yeah. I was probably playing with my cabbage vegetable. No, I was crying watching the Carol Burnett show. Wow. Really explains a lot. Oh, man, what a party, huh? Doesn't that sound like fun? Oh, yeah. Sitting there with your tape recorder playing Rachmaninoff, crying to yourself in your room at 12 years old. That just is... So weird. Man, that sounds like a good time. Mike, is somebody at the door? Your friends are at the door. That's okay, Mom. I'm in my room listening to Rachmaninoff. Busy. You want to go out and run around with your friends? No, no, I'm good.
But if you go out later today, could you stop by the record store and pick up whatever's new and classical music? And then some Kleenex on the way out. Then some Kleenex. Could you stop by and get some tissue for me? Mom, I'm a little busy. The MASH finale is tonight. Yes. So, you know, I have things to do. But, Michael, the kids are riding their bikes outside. No, Mom, the Harvey Korman roast starts in 20 minutes. And I'd like to catch that before a cry and retiring by nine. A good cry. A good cry, a bottle of scotch, and then retiring to my boudoir. They started moving, apparently, the Bush family out of the White House last summer. Oh, nice. Did not know that. Yeah, so they're like all out when they were asking, oh, are the moving trucks going to be going when another one's coming? And they're like... Oh, no. You know, the Bush family started moving out last summer, and basically today it was just a suitcase of their last personal items. Get out of here. They're gone. Yeah, and so they're pulling up the truck for the Obama family. They have a whole staff there ready to, like, take the stuff off the truck. They know where everything's going to go. It's not like you're moving furniture in, right? I guess.
Well, they say the job comes furnished. I think they have to. Yeah, I think they have to. You know why? Because you've got furniture that is really important to you. And I'm sure every president has furniture that's very important to them. Family stuff where they're like, we'd really like this to be here. They can bring their own stuff as well as there's a White House furniture collection that you can select stuff from. Your bed? Wow. No way. Yeah, I bet. No way. Dude, I bet. You don't get to pick a new bed? I don't think some people wouldn't want to. I mean, if you want to, I'm sure you could. But if you want to bring your own, I'm sure that's allowed as well. BYOB. I bet he was like, you know, I want my own bed. So there's a whole staff that's going to unpack all their stuff, even their clothes and everything, hang everything up, put everything in the drawers. Dude, I want to know what the bathroom looks like. You've said that already. I do. We did an hour on this already. I want to know what his toiletries look like when they're laid out. Is it on the shaving kit? Yeah, dude, do you think that Obama shaves at the sink or in the shower? At the sink. At the sink? He's a sink guy? Yeah. What kind of toothpaste do you think he's using?
Whitening for sure. You think he uses a whitener? I don't think he does. I don't think he likes the taste of the whitening stuff, so he uses just normal. How does he get that grill so pristine? Hello, it's called whitening at the mall. The mall. The mall. Really? Yeah. You're so dope. You know all that stuff, though. And here's a question. Oh, here we go. Michelle Obama. Does not go to the grocery store, okay? No. Does she make a list of stuff to get, you know? What about embarrassing items like tampons? She's got to put that on a list for people to go get for her. Well, I think they probably like have a standard list and they keep everything stocked off that list. So there's always tampons in the house. It's not like she has to go. Dude, you're brilliant. That is why you're a good organizer. That's a good idea. Just have it there all the time. And then if she needs special stuff. And if they don't, they should. Yeah.
Please. She'll ask once and it'll be there for the rest of the time she's there. No, I believe Obama's got to go out at like 2 a.m. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's walking into a 7-Eleven all embarrassed. Oh, that stuff's fascinating to me. There's a study that says that women are less able to suppress their hunger. Duh. Duh. Duh. Women are... Less capable of suppressing their hunger, their pee, for sure. Very true. Oh, dude. Their feelings. Their feelings. Come on, dude. It's true. It's true. Their mouth. Yes, that's also true. Keep going. How come you ladies can't just go pee before we leave and then don't do it again until we get there? Just wait until we get there. I mean, it's so inconvenient to... in the middle of Marietta to be looking for an exit to find a place. Can't you guys just hold it? I mean, are you going to go in your pants? Just hold it. I don't have a problem. Oh, yeah, right. You're the only female on the planet, then. You're a woman. You guys all have to pee all the time, especially on trips. I don't. You don't? This is a lie. I don't believe it. We drive to the Bay Area, take seven hours, we make one stop in the middle. For real? Yeah, that's it. We stop once.
Eat, go pee, fill up the gas tank, and we're off every time. One stop. What about you, Ash? I don't know what the problem is. It's not a lie. For both drives this past Christmas, I made two stops each time. That sounds about right. And I'm a little surprised with you. You're a queen of... Puh-lease. Two words for you. I like water. Puh-lease. I like to drink it and then, you know, rest. Oh, wow. She's a trifling friend indeed. Oh, what a small bladder. Way over time. That worked for me. Oh, yeah. Being hydrated. That's all it is. It's not a big deal. Where's my Ashley the she has to pee? Uh-uh. This is my favorite one. She does, though, all the time. Yeah. All the time. So what's the deal with the hunger, though? So they did this study. This is weird. So they made a group of men and a group of women fast overnight.
And then they also taught them this technique where you try and suppress thoughts of hunger and eating. So they wake up from fasting overnight and then they have these brain scan things hooked up while they're supposed to be using these suppressing thoughts. So the brain scan shows. This is what we spend our money on. This is why we're in trouble. This is why we're so messed up. The brain scan shows that men's brain activity actually decreased. from thinking about food, whereas women's, and they put food in front of them, and the women's brain, that response to food, remained active. So they're saying that we like to eat. They're not as smart. It's science. No. It's in the study. No, they're showing that our brains are so smart that they can't shut down. Opposite. Opposite. See, guys can shut down their brain at any time because it's all dull. It's totally dull in there. So what has this study led to? It's like a dim light bulb. Opposite. Stop that off. Opposite. What has this study led to? Like, what is this? What's your problem? What in the scientific field is? Say it again. Like, better Danny yogurt? Yes, better Danny yogurt. Like, what is this leading to? Fruit roll-ups. What? The development of fruit roll-ups. We need that. Without that study, we would have never had them. Yep, it's true.
Did you guys know that there was a video game festival at UCSD this weekend? What? Video game festival. Why do you say it like that? I always say festival like that. Since when? Since I was a 12-year-old crying to Rachmaninoff in my room. Rachmaninoff. Yeah, well, I guess it was a huge success. It was at UCSD on Saturday and Sunday, and it was their fifth annual Winter Game Fest. Now, the first year they did it, only like 30 people came to play. Yeah. But this year... I'll retire to the nerdery with our calculators. How'd they ever do it again? I don't know. 30 people show up the first time? Seriously, that's a failure. Yeah, you call that a failure and you don't do it again. But this year they had 1,500 people. A lot of people came from out of town and they had to like turn people away because all the spots were filled out. How'd they ever get to the second one? Yeah, I don't know. There wasn't a Pluto Nash 2. There's a reason. Too bad, too. Oh, Sean. How dare you, sir? Dude, that movie is good. How dare you, sir? Scott J. Warren.
So you had to pay a fee to be able to play and participate, and then they pooled all the fee money, and then the winners of different tournaments, like the Guitar Hero Tournament, the Rock Band Tournament, the Halo Tournament, you win some money. Oh, cool. Awesome. Yeah, I had no idea. How much? Well, they said that the pool was $4,000, so I don't know. There we go. Jump this. Good job. Look out, look out. I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. All right. Okay. Careful, careful, careful, careful. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Watch it. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Yeah, you do. Can I just get it out of your wall? Hey, I'm playing a game, dude. Can I get it out of your wall? No, you can't get it out of my wall. Is it me or is his frogger guy even slouching? Okay. Shut up, Sky. Hang on, guys. The thing's messed up. Let me take out the controller. Hold on. Let me take out the game, I mean. Let me blow on it. Okay. Okay, it's good. Fix it again. It's how you fix it. Put it back in.
Oh, ooh. Hold on, I got Donkey Kong. You guys want to play Donkey Kong? Yeah, we put that in. No, we don't. Skydive. Here we go. Skydive. Go, Sky, go. Come on, King of Kong. Here we go. Sky's husband. You can do this. Go to your boo. Go to your boo. Go to the boo. Go to the boo. Go to your boo. Barrel. And the boo. Get the hammer. Get the hammer. Don't stop at the bathhouse. Don't. Shut up. Oh, look out. There's a costume. Oh, wait. You should have got the hammer. Game over. That was fun. Eddie, blow on it. Eddie, this game's messed up. Try it again. It's good. You got some spit on it. Wipe it off. You can't put it back in there like that. There you go. Let's try it again. Do you guys have a paper boy?
I wish. We have a paper boy, yes. It's a game. I was listening to Rachmaninoff at the time. I missed that one. Other big stuff that's going on out there. There were apparently the pilot that landed the plane into the Hudson River. Sully. Sully. He is not interested in interviews. Yeah. You turned down who, Skye? Well, so over the weekend, Matt Lauer announced that Sully would be on the Today Show on Monday. Really? Yeah. And then Sully said, no, I will not. Well, from what I heard, the pilot's union said he can't do the interview because they want the investigation to continue.
before he starts doing interviews. Yeah, on Monday they issued a statement saying that all the flight crew will not be doing interviews until further notice and that they're going to continue with the investigation and they thank everybody for their appreciation and support, but they're going to wait until the time is right. And Matt Lauer's glib. Yep. FYI. Eddie is the guy's guy I know. He is a guy's guy. So, Eddie, explain the interest in the TV show. The Bachelor. Okay. It is a fascinating thing to watch women fight over a guy. Hot women. That they don't even know. That they don't even know. And the cattiness that goes on, the fighting is fascinating. And, you know, because you don't get to see that as dudes. You know, we don't get to see women interact with each other when they like the same guy. And there are certain situations that draw certain psychological conditions that are fascinating to look at. For instance, when the guys turn the girls down, they don't get, see the way that they move on, the way that these women move on is they get a rose at the end of the show. Right. So when a woman doesn't get a rose. Something happens. There's a psychological thing that occurs. And some women are 100% fully capable of taking that rejection.
With dignity, style, and class. But there are other women whose life conditions have not made that possible. And whom react to it in a way that is not indicative of a woman that shows much composure, style, or class. They do this thing now where they send them on one-on-one dates. And if he likes the girl... He gives her a rose, and she keeps going. If he's like, eh, not so much, she doesn't get a rose, and she has to go right then and there. Wow. Now, it would be the part of some women to be like, oh, I guess he didn't like me, you know, and I don't want... It didn't work out. Oh, well. But some women, they don't want to... Like, that's not enough. Right. At 50. You did it a little sneaky, though, picking up the rose. I had an awesome time. You're this, you're this, you're that. But... The worst part of the night was when she got the jewels taken off her because it just added salt to the wound. I mean, she really loved those jewels, and I could see it in her face. She just got angrier and angrier. Personally, thinking of other people in the house, and I'm like, this person is cruel to everybody. I'd rather eliminate them out right away and take a little bit longer and see if something develops than keeping someone around who's mean to every girl in the house. I wanted there to be something. You have to know that. And there wasn't anything. Okay, well, I think this is enough.
Good luck. Her final comments, I'm sure it'll be full of 51. It's like you're not in the same place I am right now, and I'm thinking, I don't know any girl in the house that's in the same place as you more than me right now. I know I'm going to be an awesome mother, and I could do that tomorrow. When she's not around, the tension is gone. It's very relaxing. There's a lot of stress that was caused by her over her being gone. He's an idiot. He's probably an idiot. And there you go. Style, class, dignity. So if you stick to her, then you must be God. What? Who do you think you are if you don't find me attractive? Eddie, was she hot? Not my...
Not my cup of tea. Was she the one that knew everything about him or no? No. There's one that was a fan of this guy. She's still around. Really? And crazy. So they're having the rose ceremony. And the girls are fighting because the host is getting them to talk crap about each other. And she just gets up and walks out of the room. And everybody's like, whoa, is she okay? She went in to go throw up. Are you kidding? Because she was so affected by the drugs. That is bad. It's so stupid. She went to go throw up. Yeah, yeah. And she's so emotionally whacked. Yeah. Dude, they got to be careful, man. They got to be careful that they don't get, you know. It's bad. She's so emotionally unstable. She hasn't had, like, one-on-one time with him. She hasn't eaten in three months. I wouldn't doubt it. Like, she, you know, finally gets her one-on-one time with him. And she just starts crying. She starts crying. And the guy, the bachelor's like. Have they given him at least like one choice that could be potential? There's a couple. There's a couple good ones. A couple normal ones. Yeah, but why he is keeping her around? I'm like, it's got to be for TV. Probably because the producers are like, please. We know you're not going to pick her, dude, but keep her around. Just keep her, keep her. She's amazing.
570-1053 is our phone number. Call us at the beginning and end of every show. Right now, we do open phones. You can call about anything you want. You can comment about Obama. Tomorrow on the show, you got robbed. Oh, nice. I hope it's a good one. You've been robbed. I'm depleted. I hope I can do this. You got robbed. Also, Cheaters Hotel. Hello. 570-1053. Give us a call. Let's see. A couple lines ringing. Mikey Show, hello. Now you go. Now you go. Now you go. Mikey Show. I want to talk, but never mind. I'm sorry. That's all right. It's better to eject, I say. Well played. Very well played. That was a fold. You looked at your hand and you were like, eh. Sevens and twos.
Bye-bye. Suited. I feel like I could play on it. But you know what? What am I doing? This is a bad idea. Mikey Show. Hey, good morning, Mikey. This is P1 Crew. What's up? Hey, I got a question. I read on the news that Cleo Channel is planning to cut some 1,500 jobs. Is that just locally or nationwide? Well, gee, bro, that's a real happy call. Right. I don't know, dude. There's rumors, but I have no idea. Sorry about that. I'm just curious about the show. Yeah. Well. Think good thoughts. Think good thoughts. Hopefully we'll be here tomorrow. Fingers crossed. All right, thank you guys. Thanks, man. Hopefully tomorrow morning it's not just stained and metallic. Oh, right. You know what I mean? Oh, don't. Mikey Show. I just have a quick question. What is it about a rehab facility as opposed to maybe like an AA program that seems to help people stay clean longer? You want my opinion? Nothing.
Nothing. Other than it's, you know, you've got to be locked up in there. You can't leave. They force you to do it. You know, when I was in rehab, I was like, I couldn't leave. So I was like, forced to do what on my own I wouldn't do by myself. Okay. Thanks for the insight. You got it. Mikey Show. Hi, guys. It's P.O. and Janice. Good morning. Hi. Do you think it's weird if I want to dump it there because he doesn't listen to the Mikey Show? Not at all. I think that's a requirement, really. Yeah, I support that. Well, he doesn't like funny things. He does. What does he listen to instead? I don't know, but it's not important. He doesn't listen to the Mikey show. It's not important. He's got issues. How long have you been dating? Just about a month. Get out of there. That doesn't sound like you're that crazy about the guy. You don't think you can change him? I really like him, but he just does not want to be a P1. I really, really like him.
Well, if you really, really like him, then you've got to give him a little time. Maybe he'll become a P1. Oh, but it's frustrating. What's wrong with him? Does he eat cabbage? I don't know. That's a good question. Yeah, that joke's not going anywhere. I was just curious to eat cabbage. Just curious. Curious. Thank you. Wanted to know. All right, Mike. Hey, thanks for the call. Love you guys. Love you. P1 TiVo's on the line. The latest. Hey, Mike. You're so rich. What's up? Hey, I found a loophole that you could use to make your MERS seem a little less lame. First of all, we are operating from the premise that I carry a MERS. What'd you do? It's a computer bag. I have a computer bag. I mean, I have to carry the computer in something, for goodness sake. And your lipstick, but go on. Okay. Merce. Yesterday, I was in this guy's house fixing his table, and I hear a phone ring, and he reaches into this green canvas Merce with a leather bottom. Yes. He gets his phone out. And when he's done, I kind of had a smirk on my face, and I'm like, nice Merce, dude. He looks me right in the eye, and he said, it was a Swedish gas mask bag, and now I just put my stuff in it. Oh, really? That makes it cool. You're tough. Yeah. You're Jack Bauer. Yes. Yeah.
This is made out of the hide of humans. Yes. I bet you bench 320, you Tarzan. With one arm. Can I say one more thing? Yeah. When you guys were talking about the elite Hollywood people and their out-of-touch pledges, the whole time, all I could think about was how they reminded me of you guys whenever you say TiVo. Yes. I agree, man. It's so true. I agree. Same exact thing. Thank you. Whatever. Thank you. We've tried to change our ways. But it's hard. It's hard. It's hard to teach a rich dog new tricks. P1 Disciple Apollo. Hey, Mikey. P1 Disciple Apollo's here. What's up? Not much. Just want to give a shout out. Say I'm a Christian and I love Jesus, man. Because God is so awesome. Well, that's great, bro. I feel that way, too. Awesome. Oh, and I also had a real questioning thing, too. What is it? I'm trying to plant a garden for my mom. You know, for Christmas, we got her a bunch of seeds. And I promise, oh, yeah, I'm going to level this place. Get some good compost. Get a garden going. And I want to know where I can learn more about tomatoes. Because she loves tomatoes, man. I would say the Internet. Like.
I'm being serious. Where did you learn about your tomatoes? The internet. Didn't you get a book? No, I got all the information that I got. I got it on the internet. You didn't get a book? Uh-uh. I mean, I have a couple of stuff on tomatoes, but I mean, most of the stuff I got, internet. I Google Master Googled it. Hey, listen here. Listen here, Disciple Apollos. Hey, Disciple Apollos. Wait a minute. Wait. What you gotta do is save all your excess skin. Ew. And sprinkle it on top of the seeds. Okay. You'll have the best tomatoes you'll ever see. Where do we collect our excess skin? Bottom of your feet, Mikey. Okay. Bottom of your feet. Disciple Apollos, I hope that this has been some good information for you. Thank you. Thank you. Mikey Show. Oh, my goodness. Lovely and talented Missy is up next. Today on the Nooner, Missy has the all-request lunch. So as you're sitting there having your delicious, you know, Pop Rocks and Cokes and pizza and Jujubees, you can be calling her, requesting songs, and getting it done. We'll come back here tomorrow morning at 5.30. We'll do it all over again. The Mikey Show's out.
