New England beat the Chargers 21-12 after San Diego kept settling for field goals, and Mikey, Eddie and Boston Rob sparred over the result and the Patriots' gloating. Mikey announced Shauna's unusually large newborn Jameson, then described Rebecca's painful decision to euthanize Ginger and their disagreement over the emotional and financial limits of pet care. Ashley braced for an unflattering American Idol edit while the crew debated man-gagement rings and whether married partners ask permission or merely keep one another informed. Other vivid stories included Eddie's water outage, a caller's scorpion scare, Sylvester Stallone defending HGH to Matt Lauer, Cloverfield's hidden clues, Sean tracking late-night meat sellers and Ashley's explosive fight with her upstairs neighbor.
What happened, in order
Chargers fall short
New England beat San Diego 21-12 after the Chargers repeatedly settled for field goals, prompting Mikey, Eddie and Boston Rob to argue over the loss and the Patriots' gloating.
Jameson arrives
The crew announced that program director Shauna had given birth to Jameson, a 10-pound, 7-ounce, 21-inch baby boy.
Goodbye to Ginger
Mikey described Rebecca's devastation after an ultrasound revealed widespread lymphoma and she chose to put her 10-year-old cat Ginger to sleep rather than pursue chemotherapy.
A day without water
Eddie lost water for nearly a day after a main break and ended up strategizing toilet flushes before going to a movie partly to use the restroom.
Scorpion birthday scare
A caller said his little brother carried a live scorpion toward his sister's new boyfriend at a birthday party, making the boyfriend shriek and run outside.
Ashley becomes the Idol teaser
Ashley learned that Fox was heavily featuring her animated reaction shots in American Idol promos, leaving the crew to wonder whether she would be presented as a breakout character or a terrible audition.
Stallone defends HGH
Matt Lauer confronted Sylvester Stallone about human growth hormone, and Stallone argued that it aids recovery but cannot replace years of hard training.
The man-gagement ring debate
An email about a fiancee demanding a men's engagement ring sparked a heated argument over insecurity, tradition and whether gendered customs should change.
Cloverfield's hidden clues
The crew praised Cloverfield's realism, decoded the reversed post-credits message that said the creature was still alive and debated the object falling into the ocean in the final Coney Island footage.
Permission versus partnership
A listener's marriage question led Mikey, Eddie, Skye and Ashley to debate whether spouses should ask permission for plans or simply keep each other informed through honest conversation and a shared calendar.
Late-night meat sellers
Sean and his wife followed suspicious door-to-door salesmen who had knocked around 9 p.m. with a Red Bull and discovered they were selling crates of meat from a car.
Ashley's neighbor war
Ashley recounted verbally reaming her upstairs neighbor after he accused her of waking him at 4 a.m. by slamming doors, while the crew argued that his condescending approach caused the blowup.

It's the quickest we're ever on. Song starts, we're there. Welcome. It is 6-0-2. Today is Martin Luther King Day. All government offices will be closed today. All right, what can we say? It was a tough game, but when you kick field goals and not score touchdowns, that's what happens. Chargers lost in the AFC Championship game to New England 21-12. I almost thought, Eddie, I almost thought to myself. Yesterday, at the end of the game, I almost thought to myself, maybe I should tell Rob he doesn't have to come in. Stay home. Celebrate. Don't worry about it. Hey, nice. Rob doesn't have... Boston Rob maybe doesn't have to come in. Those chowders are the worst. They're the most... Like, what's the opposite of a sore loser? What do you call... Is there a name for a bad winner? Other than bad winner? Yeah.
There was just so much smack talk last week. So much. And you took it so well, too. Hey, I didn't say nothing. So this is all making perfect sense. I talk this week. I got a text message from Rolo. And it was so like... And I was like, oh boy. Classy. Oh, if you guys won, you guys would have been talking all this week. You're wrong. You guys talked a lot last week. I can only speak for myself. I can only speak for myself. Right, right. This may be, I'm telling you, this may be the most lame Super Bowl I can remember. This is lame to me. The Giants and the Patriots. What's the line? 48? 13. Whatever, man. Awesome. I guess. Hey, man, if you're a Patriot fan, it looks like you're in real good shape going against the Giants. I would have much rather seen Brett Favre. Oh, absolutely. I think the NFL, everybody would want to see that. That turd Eli Manning is in there. Aye, aye, aye. Aye, aye, aye, aye. So, yeah. It was a good game for a while. Well, listen, you know.
I love hearing Rob's laugh, the condescending laugh, like, oh, of course we were going to win. I know that that guy was sweating bullets. Oh, it wasn't a laugh like, of course we were going to win. I was sweating bullets the whole game. It didn't get okay until, what, fourth quarter? Is that when it got to where the Patriots pretty much started doing their thing? Yeah, you know, middle of the fourth quarter. I think he pretty much wrapped it up. I mean, it was a... You know, it was disappointing in regards to, you know, when you get into the red zone, you kind of have to get a little bit more creative. And I know it was tough not having LT. I mean, that's his bread and butter down there. Not really having a Mobile Rivers to roll out or do anything, you know. I mean, but just sitting in the pocket and kind of like hoping your guys get open, you know, you're not going to score that way. So that was kind of tough to watch. I said this in the pregame show, the decision to not activate Dave Rayner, who was handling the kickoffs because Nate Kading had this injury, this leg injury, and giving Tom Brady the ball on the 40-yard line every time, that's just not smart. That's just bad decision-making. I think that really hurt him a lot. What can you do?
570-1053 is our phone number. Today is Martin Luther King Day. And so government offices are out today. No mail, no garbage. But you don't have to pay parking meters, so that's good times. That's cool. Yeah, there's a positive. Cut one. One day, even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice. sweltering with the heat of oppression, be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream today. That dude was for real. Yeah, that's beautiful. It really is, man. And it's tough to see the...
kind of nerd ball imitators the weirdos like that try to imitate king like there's only one you know he's like hulk hogan wow there's only one hulk hogan man made that comparison eddie i watched american gladiators oh you did i loved it yeah it's great huh yeah the only thing i didn't like it and i think you said this too the cheese ball yeah yeah when they say the cheese ball things yeah I don't know why it's necessary. That's how it used to be. Is it? They have the contestants say things like, well, I'll tell you what. All I know is I'm a rodeo clown, and when I get in there today, I'm going to make people laugh the hard way. What are you doing that for? Is that really necessary? Yeah. But I watched, I guess it was the last one that was on, where the guy messed up his... ACL or MCL where he ripped his knee up. Was that the last one? I don't know. I don't know. It was T-Vode. Yeah. And so I just played it. I don't know when it came out, but that's the one I saw. Yeah. And I was like, this is pretty cool. Yeah, it's fun to watch. The idea of it is cool, and this was fun. 5701053 is the number. P1 Juan Canito is on the line. Hey, Mikey. What's up? The word you might be looking for is gloating.
G-L-O-A-T. Gloating. Yes, gloating. Yeah, bro. Gloating. You can't gloat. My voice is gone from yelling at the TV. I bet, man. Sean, do you have a drum roll? Can you give me a drum roll here? We have an announcement to make. Ladies and gentlemen, our program director, Shauna, gave birth this morning. Holy cow. Breaking news. Her son's name is Jameson. And he arrived in the 5 o'clock hour this morning. Nice. He weighed. Are you ready for this? She was getting big, man. A cow. Ounce, seven ounces. Oh, my God. That's like a full-grown person. I know it. Holy crap. How do you give birth to a toddler? It's like a mini Justin. It's like B-Rob. A little bit, a little bit. So happy for her.
And still two inches taller than B-Rob, 21 inches. Oh, good. Seven or 10 pounds. It should be in reverse, right? Yeah. Should have been seven pounds, 10 ounces. But 10 pounds, seven ounces, 21. That baby is done. Oh, dude. Everybody's good, it says. That's awesome. Yeah. Congratulations, Shauna. Awesome. I can't wait to go. She was showing us 3D pictures of the baby inside her. And it was a trip, man. The baby looked like Justin. Already. It was trippy. When Jake was, you know, cooking, and we got those 3D pictures taken, he looked just like Rebecca's grandfather. It was weird, man. It's weird. It's bizarre. They look like that in the womb. It was a tough weekend for my wife, man. Speaking of, it was just a tough weekend at the house. Yesterday, you know, we had the folks over.
And we were going to watch the game. And Rebecca was excited to see the game. And so Ginger, our cat Ginger, has been sick. And so she wasn't eating or anything. And so we took her to the vet on Saturday. And they took x-rays over. They said, we don't see anything. So we don't know what's the matter with her. We've got to take blood. So they took blood. We brought Ginger home, laid her down. She's just laying around. called us back Saturday night. They said, well, we didn't find anything in her blood work, so the only way we can really know if anything's wrong with her is to do an ultrasound. So Rebecca took her back Sunday, and I'm waiting for her to come home. I said, do you think you'll be home by noon? That's what time the game starts. She says, I hope so. So she goes, and I text her. I said, did the doctors see her yet? She says, no. And so I'm waiting. Finally, I text her again. I say,
Has he seen her yet? And she said, yeah, I had to put her to sleep, and I'm coming home. Oh, my God. And she was devastated, man. I felt so bad for her. You know, when you love somebody so much, and they're in so much pain, it's just so hard. And she was in bed all day yesterday, and she was crying last night in the middle of the night. She'd wake up, and that's what she'd start thinking about, and she'd start crying. Because she had the cat for 10 years. And, you know, I didn't, I didn't really, well, I certainly didn't love this cat, you know. And like is a strong word, too. But I didn't hate the cat. I really didn't hate the cat. I just didn't. And so it was, I was bummed, A, for her. And I thought, eh, it kind of sucks that stupid fatso's not going to be around here anymore.
What was the matter with her? Did they ever find out? Yeah, it was cancer, and I guess her whole stomach was just ridden with lymphoma. And so they said, you know, you can, if you want, you can, like, do stuff they do for humans. But, you know, logically, Rebecca thought, A, it's no way for the cat to live, and B, I mean, now we're talking giving chemo to a cat, and, you know, it was getting ridiculous. She was 10? Ten years old, yeah. It was up there, you know. And so, yeah, it was rough. If you pray, lift my wife up. She's sad. Poor thing. And so, I don't know. It was just, she's had, I really have a lot of respect for Rebecca. She's had a rough week. Skye's upset because Skye loves cats. I know. She loves cats and she loves Rebecca. She's just finding out right now.
Well, I think he, listen, I think he thinks you're cute, Skye. I mean, in all honesty. I think he thinks it's cute. You know. Right, Eddie? He does. I'll speak for him. I've known him 20 years. Anyway, tough time. It's sad. Eddie. Don't call me out. Yeah, don't do it. Do not call me out. Don't do it. Don't do it. In fact, let's go around the room and just sort of introduce everybody. Sure. That's right. So now it's just Jules and Sydney. Man, Ginger was the only one I liked. Really? Yeah, I loved Fat Cats. Yeah, she was the best. You liked Ginger more? Oh, she was so, like, affectionate. Fat Cats are the best, dude. She loved to cuddle. We had a heavy conversation on Saturday, man, when we were talking about what the deal was with her and what was going on with her and all that stuff, because we had to get into this conversation. But we're broke, man. We're broke as a joke right now. And we had to get in this conversation about...
What are we going to do? What are we going to do? Because it's expensive just taking her to the vet. So we get into this conversation and it was tough because we are on completely different planets when it comes to pets. If it was my son, you know, I'd donate my own body for him. But the fact that it's a cat and the fact that it was not my cat. It was her cat. And a cat that I didn't hate, but I didn't have a relationship with. It was very difficult for me to have these lists of priorities that we have that we're broke and we can't do anyway. And it was only further going to delay these priorities that we have. She was coming. We were both really honest. And she was really honest about it. She said she couldn't change the way she felt.
You know, she said for her it was important to do it. And I couldn't change the way I felt. For me, it was not important. It was not a priority. It didn't come before the other things that we had, especially given that Kat was 10 and that it was going to get into. I said, you know, she's 10. Kat's lived until about 15 years old. Is this the beginning of... the money funnel you know and then i was kind of thinking about vets and what do you get with these vets i don't know about vets you know i don't know about vets yeah that'll be 900 please well no i i say no what are you gonna do you know it's not like a hospital do they have cat like pet insurance i heard they do yeah i have my dog
Do you have it? How much do you have to pay? How much is pet insurance? I'm going to get her on it, and Sarah from the front desk told me it's like $25 a month. I bet it's worth it. Wow. And then they take it. Yeah, it is a lot. That's more than what we pay. You have it, Sean? Yeah, we have it on ours, and it's really cheap. Like how much? We got it over the internet. I think it's like $7 a month. Really? Yeah, it's really cheap. And then when you go to the vet, you pay a co-pay? Yeah. How much? I don't know. I usually don't go. It's Dina that takes them? Yeah. Well, it could be worth it, man, because that stuff gets up there. It gets up there. And I wonder if the insurance companies, like human insurance companies, where they're like, does the cat really need this? You know what? And now that I think about it, I don't think that office visits are covered. It's only for catastrophic stuff. Catastrophic stuff. Oh, really? Yeah. I think that's why it's so cheap. That's lame. Is that right, man? They have different levels you can get.
So we have the really, like, bad one. It's like her family, she said, you know. And I know that's Skye. For Skye, her cats are like her family, you know. She'd go to any lengths to do it. So I know her and my wife are on the same page. And I understand it. I understand. I told her I understand it. And I respect it. But at the same time, you know, if somebody doesn't feel the same way, you have to understand that, too, you know. And we were kind of like, I thought it was a pretty good conversation. We were both just saying how we felt about it. You can't change it. It's tough. It is, man. A lot of factors put into it. Plus, animals, people get really passionate when it comes to animals. It's one of those hot buttons. Absolutely. Yeah, and I actually knew somebody who had a cat who had stomach cancer but decided to try and make it work and did the chemo. And then it was to the point where the cat barely could move and they had to feed the cat through a tube and a catheter.
So, yeah, it's a lot for a little guy to handle. She said she didn't want that to be Ginger's deal. Yeah, I totally agree. You know? Yeah. So, Eddie is our producer. Our sports guy is 34. Sky does news for us. She's 30. She is a cat lover. She really likes cats. It's her deal. Sean is 37 years old. He is our sound effects guy. Ashley is 24. She's our American Idol star. If you saw the Green Bay game yesterday, she was all over the commercials. I didn't see it. I was getting texts from everybody. My brother, P1 Matt Damon, people in Thailand, China, Australia. Well, you didn't miss much. All over the world. They're making me out to look ridiculous, Mike. And I don't appreciate it. That is brutal. See, a lot of times people can't really. See, true talent. Freeze framing my face to make weird faces. They're making me seem like I... Well, they're not doing anything that you didn't do. Well, but Eddie, it's called editing. Yeah, it's called a spin, bro, okay? Yeah, but... That's their way of looking at her singing. They can spin it any way they want, Eddie. Sure, spin it. Well, I think they're just kind of doing what they normally do.
You know, they find, like, the worst of the worst. I mean, I know that I'm really animated. I know that I'm really animated. Yeah, the absolute worst. I know what I mean. Oh, no. That pumps me up. Hey, man, you put a beat to it and stick in the club. Let them decide. Oh. Let them decide. You know, Simon. P1 Mustang. Yeah, how's it going, Mikey? What's up, brother? I just want to let Shauna know that she hasn't had all the pain yet. I was the third child of my parents, and I was born 14 pounds, 14 ounces, 24 inches long. What the hell? That almost sounds like a world record. What? My mom had me naturally, and she smoked during her pregnancy. Oh, well. He is the baby. What's the world record?
I have no idea. I know I was one of the biggest babies born at Grossmont Hospital, though. Really? 14 pounds? That's crazy. 14 pounds, 14 ounces. That's gross. Do you guys know how much you guys weighed when you were born? I was like, I think around 6 pounds. Yeah, we don't have any records of my childhood. No. I couldn't tell you. Barely tell you what day I was born. Well, that was confusing for a while. I was 9 pounds, 12 ounces. You're a big baby. And my brother was 11 pounds, 3 ounces. Holy cow. My sister was 9 pounds, 6 ounces. You guys are all big. Yeah, how do you remember? Because we were so huge. It was like a thing. It was a thing, yeah. I don't know how much I weighed. I think that back in those days, too, like it was all right to drink. Really? Yeah, it wasn't talked about like it is now. Yeah. Like now, you'd know that it's like the most awful thing in the world. Back then, having a couple glasses of wine, no big whoop. You have a few glasses of wine. Baby doesn't drink it. Yeah, pack a cigarette. Yeah, have a couple cigarettes to your lungs, not the baby's. I would never let my infant smoke, but I'm going to have a couple packs. I really like Marlboro's. P1 Chris is on the line. Chris, are you there? Yep. Hey, man. How's it going, you guys? Good. Good. Ashley, just a real quick question for you. Have you ever heard of William Hung? That was a big line. That was a big line.
They're setting her up to be the female William Hung. Not cool. They really are. She's crazy. They really are. But she may blow up. Maybe she can cut an album. Dude. Ash, what if you cut an album? When will it drop? Ash. I would love it. I mean, come on. Maybe they bring you back for the American Idol finale to be awesome. Oh, yeah. Because you're so terrible. I mean, if they took me seriously, yeah. I would like that. Eddie was out of water 24 hours. hours over the weekend. Oh, yeah. This weekend sucked. How did it happen? There was a water main break on my block. How does that happen, though? I have no idea. How do water mains break? Yeah, and I... They're underground. Well, yeah, because they're, like, really old, and then they just kind of get all old and crumbly is one way. That just gives? Yeah, or another way is just, like, construction. Like, whoops, not bad. Yeah, that sucks. Shouldn't they, like... There should be some sort of deal.
That lets you know there's water mains down there. So what happened? You woke up and just turned your water on and nothing came out? Is that how you found out? No. We got home from dinner Friday night and went to use the sink and there was no water. So it was somewhere between like 6 and 7.30, somewhere in there. And so we were like, oh, that sucks, but hopefully it'll be back on by the morning. But then all my neighbors from all the different buildings started coming over. I'm like, you got water? You got water? So we figured out it was the water main. You should have messed with them and been like, yeah, what? That's great. We just got out of the shower. You hear the door knocking, you know what it is, so you put a robe on. So we woke up in the morning and still no water. And so we were like, oh, this is terrible. And, you know, you can't do anything. You can't use the restroom. Oh, dude, I didn't think of that. You can't go to the bathroom. There's like a couple of flushes available, and then you're done. So there's more than one flush available? Well, we had multiple bathrooms. So, you know, basically you got one flush per bathroom, and then you're done. And so, I mean, I was strategizing, all right, do I want to wait? You know, wait for something to happen. How bad was it? You know, so.
That's what you got to think about. How bad is this one right now? Should I just jump in the shower? You got to strategize what's going on. Well, there's no water in the shower, so that wouldn't work. But you thought about it anyway. For sure. There's a drain. What else am I going to do? Use a bush. That's more sanitary. That's sanitary? Like, what's the difference? Honey, I think Eddie's out pooping in a bush. Well, no, not for that. For number one. Number one? Where does it even matter? Not in my shower. Dude, number one, wherever you want. I'll jump in the sink. Yeah. What? Sure. Give me a water bottle. You know. All right. Thank you. So we decided, like, we got to go do something because, like, you know. We don't have any restrooms or anything. So we ended up going to the movies, you know, using the bathroom there. Can you imagine? At the cinema. Let's go see a movie so we can poop. Pretty much. And I was watching the movie. Got home probably about, it was like close to four when it finally was turned back on. That's the worst. So you were able to take a shower? Yeah. Don't you feel like a cave person? I hated it. Because I always take a shower when I first wake up. Disgusting.
Now, the water was hot, right? Yeah, when it came back on. You know what trips me out? I don't understand. Is that, okay, I get when, oh, it's about pressure, I think. That must be it. Because I was thinking to myself, your hot water heater is full of water. And then your hot water heater boils it so it's hot so that when you turn it on. And I thought, well, couldn't you drain that sucker and just have hot water? But I guess you need pressure. Yeah, I mean, you could go out to the water heater and drain it in like a bucket, but yeah, to get the pressure to get it going through the pipes. To go through your pipes, you need pressure. So what'd you see? Anything good? National Treasure. Did you like it? It was okay. Where did it come in, Sky? What place did National Treasure come in? Oh, I don't even know if it's even on the list this weekend. It's been out for a while. Oh, actually it is. It came in fifth place, thanks to Eddie. Look at that. Thank goodness you guys went. P1 John. Morning, Mikey. What's up, dude? You know that Hex you made Rob read last Friday? Yeah, a lot of good that did. You were telling him he was wishing that the Pats had the worst day of their lives. Yes, I do. They didn't throw interceptions and all that. Yes, I do. It kind of backfired on you, didn't it? No, it actually kind of worked. Brady did throw three interceptions. He had a terrible game. It was up to the Chargers to execute, and they didn't execute. Yeah, I didn't do that. I thought the Patriots played bad. We did.
That's true, but I guess the score was the last word in the end. Score is all that mattered. They won in the end. That's true. That's right. All right, thanks. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. I actually am really glad that never again will we see those dolphins hoisting that champagne. It's over. It is over anyway. Yeah. But it's just more over. I'm just glad it's over. No more dolphins toasting each other and congratulating each other for the perfect season. Will these guys start? The only thing is, if the Patriots somehow don't win the Super Bowl, they can still say, well, we finished. We won the Super Bowl. We went undefeated and won the Super Bowl. Now I'm rooting for the Patriots. It's just so there's no chance they can say anything. I don't want to hear it. Please. I just don't want to hear it. Our power went out. You had water out. Our power went out. What the heck's going on? I know. That's weird. What else? What else happened over the weekend? What happened on your weekend? 570-1053. Call us and tell us about your weekend. Anything cool happen with you? Zeth went on a date. What's his name? Not a dude. Who'd you go out with, Zeth? A girl named Sarah. She was actually at the event we did on Friday where we gave away the trips to New England. That's cool. So what happened? We just hung out.
I hung out with her the majority of the weekend, actually. Did you guys go on a date date, like a movie or anything? Or what was the date? We were going to go to a movie, but really there wasn't anything in theaters that I wanted to see. I mean, mad money, 27 dresses, no thank you. So wait, you met her outside? Yeah, how did that go down? How did you meet? Yeah, how did it happen? Well, I was out there, you know, and I was taking the pictures, running around kind of crazy. And she was, you know, talking to me a little bit. I said, hey, I'm, you know. Kind of busy trying to take these pictures. Here's my phone number. If you want to talk later, go ahead and give me a call. Which, by the way, I think is a good move. Wow. I think with a girl in today's society, it's tough to ask a chick for her number. Because, you know, she don't know you. You could be a serial killer. Look at them. Yeah, look at them. It's a good move to give your number. You still don't know. You know, because then she thinks maybe she thinks, you know, that's pretty nice. So what happened? She call you? Yeah, she called me Friday night. We tried to figure out what to do, so I just went to her house and we watched a movie. That's cool. Yeah. You guys got along good? Yeah. We're going out again tonight. Right on. Wow, look at you, Zed. Yeah, look at you. And how old is she? She's 20. She'll be 21 next month. She's 49. Sweet. She's in my mom's bridge group. They do needlepoint together. That's right.
But she doesn't look a day over 42. Very young-looking, 49. So, as you can imagine, the Chargers printed up a bunch of AFC champ stuff. Yeah, the teams do that, just in case. And they do this, too. This is a long-lasting tradition. They send all the stuff out of the country and donate it to people that don't have clothing. That's nice. Nicaragua, Romania, right? So they'll be wearing the Chargers AFC Championship shirts and hats. Which is, it's nice, but at the same time, it's a little messed up because you know all their Romanian friends are like, you're so stupid. They didn't even, did they not see the game? They didn't even win. You're so stupid wearing such a hat. Yeah, I'd love to see pictures of that. The Patriots of the AFC Champions is so stupid. They need to get your hat. Mikey Show, hello.
Yeah, Mikey. Yo. Hey, C1 Cruz. What's up, Cruz? Hey, this weekend was my little brother's birthday, and my little sister brought her new boyfriend to town. Uh-huh. And at my brother's birthday party, we had this guy bring exotic animals, like scorpions and snakes and stuff. Well, my little brother brings a little scorpion up to my sister's new boyfriend. This dude shrieks at the top of his lungs and takes off running out the door. Well, I got a couple questions. Thank you. I guess I got a couple things I'm curious about. Yeah. Like, is this in the phone book or something? Like, hey, I do parties. I have scorpions. I'm really not sure. My mom found him, I guess, at my little brother's... Death adders. You know, whatever floats your boat. Yeah. I mean, so there's people that they... Now... What do they do? They bring this stuff in boxes? Or what do they do? Yeah, I guess, you know, this guy's like an expert on all these animals and he's promoting like not being scared of them. And so when your brother carried it over to the guy, did he carry it over like in a little box or something? No, he had it on his hand. What? Yeah, he was holding it. Wait a minute. How does a guy... You're not supposed to hold scorpions.
I guess he said don't make any sudden movements. Yeah, I would say that too. Just sneak up on someone with it. Yeah. Well, what did they do? Did they de-stinger it? I'm not sure. I don't know. It looked like it had everything, all its parts. That's bizarre. Yeah, I got mine too. All right, thanks, dude. Yeah, no problem. That's weird. Quite a party. Yeah. I didn't know they did that. 570-1053 is our phone number. Sean Merriman's going to come on, talk about the season. You know, hey, listen, let's congratulate him for a great season. We're pretty much up to speed throughout the county. Some minor things to be aware of, though. There is one little accident wrapping up on the Genesee Avenue on-ramp to southbound 163, so some possible delays there. Another accident clearing out of the way southbound 5 past the 94. Watch for a few brake lights around that. South on 7th of the 15, some intermittent slowings to that usual construction zone in Rancho Bernardo. That's really no surprise. Even the coaster ride, South on 5, a brief delay through Encinitas, and then you're pretty much on your way. No worries at all out of the East County. Border waits down to 45 minutes to San Isidro, and about the same to an hour at Otay Mesa getting into the U.S. right now. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. New series. The Sarah Connor Chronicle. This is the number one place to be this week. More than 34 million viewers have made Terminator, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the season's number one new series. And rave. It's the year's most exciting new show. Field trip. I call shotgun. I call 9mm. It's an all new Sarah Connor Chronicles. Prison break. The Ammon is back. America, you've broken another record. The American in San Diego. Absolutely fantastic. This is the number one place to be tonight. The all-new Fox Monday begins tonight at 8 on Fox 6. Back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I, uh, lose attention. My attention is in and out. ADD. Eddie. I'm good at sports, you're not. Deal with it. Sky. I have my urine and my spam. Sean. I'm an extraordinarily shy and awkward person. Boss and Rob.
I get things done. And Ashley. I realize that I no longer enjoy large-venued events. The Mikey Show's on. Oh, I want to get into this so fast. Rock 105.3. Welcome to Monday. It is 641. Cloverfield was the number one setting a January box office record. The Patriots are going to be taking on the New York Giants in the Super Bowl as they beat Green Bay in overtime 23-20. And where is this coming from? They're calling today the most depressing day of the year. Yeah, well, Time Magazine did a story on this where they cite a researcher from Cardiff University that calls today Blue Monday and the most depressing day of the year. He developed some sort of formula that takes into account weather and debt and all these other factors. And he says today's the most depressing day. He said, of course, the wintry weather doesn't help.
Lots of people have a lot of debt left over from the holidays. And then also lots of people are really depressed because they've already given up on their New Year's resolution by this time. And so that makes them depressed. Other researchers are saying, no, today's not the day. The most depressing time of the year is actually in late October, mid-November. And they base their research on the amount of people Googling depression, symptoms for depression, visiting websites of companies that make antidepressants. So according to their research, it's actually late October, mid-November. Really? Yeah. But this one researcher says, nope, it's today. It's Blue Monday. Lots of text messages yesterday of people saying, I just saw Ashley on a commercial for American Idol. So tomorrow night, Ashley will be on American Idol. Crazy as that. It's unbelievable. It's awesome. I didn't see the promo. I didn't see the promo because I wasn't watching a lot of the Green Bay game yesterday. But they go to commercial. They promote American Idol. And there's Ashley.
We have somebody videotaped and sent us this. Somebody videotaped their TV. P1 was very excited. That's cute. Cut 66. Now what do they do? What are they showing on the screen, Eddie? They basically show Ashley's face. They freeze it and then they show different... variations of her blinking and, like, face. I mean, it is pretty. Like, freeze frames of her face. Like, there's a face of me going, and there's a face of me going, and there's a, you know, like, I'm making these animated faces. That's funny. They're making me out to look silly. Well, it sounds like Ashley may be a pretty good chunk. You know, I mean, they're promoing the hell out of her, so I'm thinking to myself, wow, she may be a big part of the show. Yeah.
Yeah, I can't wait. You know how they promote it throughout the show? And coming up, after the break, blah, blah, blah, you'll see one of the worst auditions ever. You don't know that, Eddie. Or best audition. You know what cracks me up is that every once in a while, Eddie will come to me and he'll go, hey, do you want to have as a guest the so-and-so that was on American Idol last night? Like, I wonder if there's going to be radio stations that are going to, like, Fox is going to get a hold of Ashley and say, hey, can you do interviews? Which I think would be great, you know? I already had a publicist that wants to set up a tour with her tomorrow or Wednesday. That's fantastic. That's fantastic. I would love it. I would love it and just, you know, have her get the Mikey Show name out there and the whole deal. I just hope people take me seriously. How could they not? How could they not? Thank you. It's not my tone. What about Heart of Glass, Blondie? Yes, that is.
See, that's not... That sounds like garbage. That one didn't sound good. That one was really not... It's garbage! Well, anyway, so watch that tomorrow night. And we'll have audio of it the next day. Norm Chow's been hired as UCLA's offensive coordinator. Wow. Is this what we're resorting to? I guess so. Yeah, I don't want to talk about it. I want to talk about it. Norm Chow used to be the USC offensive coordinator. Yeah. And then he went to the Tennessee Titans in the big times, and he got fired, and now he's at UCLA. Yep. Oh, wow. Yeah, you know, it's interesting how this has kind of happened because Norm was kind of a hot candidate for a little while for head coaching jobs, and then, you know, he just kind of didn't get hired anywhere, and now he's the UCLA offensive coordinator. It's kind of weird.
Junior Seau returns to the Super Bowl in his 18th season. Yeah, he's pretty happy about it. He actually gave a shout-out to San Diego, too. He did? He's nice of him. I don't know if he does in this clip, but he talks about the win, cut six. It really hasn't sunk in. And what we're going to do now, we're going to embrace this, and now we have a chance. A chance to be part of ever. Ever. I didn't understand that. I don't know what that means. Part of ever? What does that mean? Listen, I win. Ever? Are you graduating? Are you retiring? Or what are you doing today? What are you doing, junior? Who cares? Fine. You don't want to talk about it. It's fine. I just want to ask you. Yeah, but before you did that, you did say, you know, I just want to say, you know, what's up to people in San Diego and, you know, my hometown. Chargers played really well today.
I wonder what his restaurant was like yesterday. It was crazy. Crazy with Parker fans? He should have listed off some specials that they had. Yeah, he really should have. During that speech. Mama say I was teriyaki half off. Yeah, exactly. I just want to let you know that for only 55 cents until the end of the third quarter. Yeah, my wife was out at that mall and said that there was a line around the restaurant waiting to get in before it opened yesterday. Oh, my. That's weird. Retired. I didn't say you were. Calm down. Came out of nowhere. Wow. But yeah, because even though he's a Patriot, Charger fans are still going there to... Junior's retired. Mike. I'm not retired. I was just messing with you, bro. I was just trying to mess with you. I'm graduating today. Whatever. Fine. Good for you. You don't have to scream at us. You're so cool. You cut your own hair. He does? It was almost as if you said that he had some German porn thing. He does? I really took that. Eddie, are you going to talk about the pregame? If you want me to. I don't care. What is that about? I don't care. What?
Tell me already. No, now. Get out. Well, now I feel bad. Now I feel bad. I don't know. I should have brought it up. What's going on? You know what? This is what we're going to do. We'll discuss it. And if we're going to talk about it, we'll talk about it a little bit. You're the worst. Well, there's other things that are big. You're a tease, man. I know. I am a tease. Hey, Skye says the Oscars are still going to happen. And they're going to make the nominees tomorrow. They're going to announce them all. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. February 24th, it's going on. And we'll see. Thank you, Sean. We'll see. He has that button red. Yeah, he's got it available for any situation. It's on loop. So, yeah, so they say it's going to go on. They're going to have the same length of an award show that they always have. And they say, worst case scenario, if none of the celebrities show up, that. They will be able to pad the show with clips of 80 years. They need to get reality stars to stand in. That would be hysterical. Yeah, dress them up to look like that people. That'd be funny. Eric from Big Brother plays George Clooney. That's funny. That'd be hysterical. So worst case scenario, we'll see a lot of clips from the past years. Four hours of that? Yeah, isn't that going to be... Holy cow.
Sky almost ruined dinner this weekend. Yeah, that was awesome. She had a couple of glasses of wine. Or martinis. Is that what you were drinking? I just assumed it was wine. No, I don't drink wine anymore. You're not a wine person? No, it makes me sick now for some reason. I think it's the sulfites. Huh? Yeah. The sulfites? And red wine. Wait, wait. That's what I've been told. Wait. What happens to you when you drink red wine? If I have more than one glass of red wine, I get sick to my stomach. You throw up? Yeah. And it's sulfites? I don't know. That's what people have told me. So you don't drink that anymore. So now you're drinking. What's your favorite drink now? The lemon drop martini. I see. And you had a couple of those. Yes, I did. A couple friends over for dinner. Yes. And what happened? Well, okay, so my hubby's the cook in the house, but when we have company over, I like to pretend like I know what I'm doing in the kitchen. So he'll always be in charge of the meat and whatever, and I'll make all the sides.
So I just had a really good buzz on and I was doing stuff and I just, I like wasn't paying attention. Like I was making all this corn. I put a big old pot of water on and I had it on like the two setting to boil the water. And then I threw these little zucchini things I was making into the oven and did not note what time I threw them in. So everything's like approximately ready. I go to check on my rice. It's just sitting in like water. It was a mess. Did the hub have to rescue everything? Or did you rescue it? My girlfriend, Michelle. Luckily, she came in and saved the day. She's a really good cook. She does not have a sulfite thing. No, she does not. She doesn't have an issue with sulfites. She likes sulfites. Yeah, she's a fan. So by the time we sat for dinner, half the stuff was overcooked. The other half of the stuff was cold. But the rice was perfect. There you go. We'll attempt to get Sean Merriman on the phone during the break. Eddie's shaking his head. No way. I got something for you. Stallone was on the Today Show, and Matt Lauer, he don't care, man. He starts asking him about taking human growth hormone. Oh!
I mean, are you kidding me? That's fantastic. Are you kidding me? So we got that audio. We'll play it for you next. I love you, Michael. I love you, too. What are you even talking about? The Mikey Show. Rock 105.3. Last night at Wendy's, I was stack attacked. Was there a weapon? Two beefy, hot and juicy burgers stacked with cheese. Hold on, if you're yanking my... No, no, the stack attack double cheeseburger. It's only 99 cents. 99 cents? That's a red alert. Gotta go. Introducing the new hot, juicy stack attack double cheeseburger from Wendy's. Two fresh, never frozen beef patties stacked with cheese. There's no better double cheeseburger out there for only 99 cents at participating Wendy's. Xavier here. extreme playboy and professional connoisseur. After a long evening of midnight street lusing, I go straight away to Wendy's where I can enjoy a hot, juicy burger late into the night. Because flying down a curvy road is exhilarating and makes one realize that mediocre late-night dining, well, that's wrong. Indubitably hot and juicy burgers. That's right. Wendy's, open until midnight or later. At participating Wendy's.
It's Mikey. Featuring the Dumb Chick Challenge. Skye, what is the currency of France called? These are the two things in my head. There's the euro and there's the Deutschmark, but I'm going to go with the euro. That is correct. Deutschmark. Is that German? Is that it? Well, that's a German word. It's either the euro or the peso. I believe it's the yen. Yes. I normally don't use currency. I use gold. That's right. I wish we would just go back to an all-gold society. Or human trafficking. That's right. Currency is currency, all right? The Mikey Show. The Mikey Show continues. Oh, really? Eddie says, can't get Merriman on the phone right now. Not picking up. No, not yet.
Maybe a little bit later. Give him some time to rest and catch up. Catch some of those must-needed Z's. 570-1053 is our phone number. Before we went to break, I mentioned that Stallone was on the Today Show, right? So we always say that Matt Lauer, he goes for it. Yeah. And I wonder if he knew that that was going to be asked about him because... You figure he's coming on, nice fluff interview about Rambo. He's got this new movie, Rambo, where he's bringing the character back. It looks like a turd. I got to be honest with you. Oh, man. Shawnee, I know you like bad movies, but I thought even this one you'd be out on. I bet you can't wait to see it. It looks so good. Oh, no. Oh, boy. I can't wait, honestly. He went to Australia. And while he was in Australia, there was some kind of thing, Sky. Do you remember this story? Something happened with Stallone in Australia. Yeah, they, like, searched his stuff, customs, and they found growth hormone. Now, listen. You look at him in the movie Rambo. He looks all, you know. How old is he these days? He's like 60. Wow. Yeah, at least 60. He's at least 60. Maybe older. But he's at least 60. And he's all buffed, you know. He's got, like, these rippling muscles.
So this was him on the Today Show, cut 26. Let me talk about the physicality of the role and connect some dots, and you tell me if it's appropriate or inappropriate to connect these dots with this event that was much publicized with you. Well, you're in Australia, and you got detained because you were in possession of human growth hormones against the law in Australia. What are you doing? What are you doing? I was hot filming in Thailand. What is this? It's steroid stuff. I'm Taz. You said it's a medical condition. The cynics are going to say you had those things because you're not going to shoot Rambo. And you wanted to be pumped. for the role. It's not pumped. See, what people don't understand about HGH, it's an amino acid. It's roided, right? It's not pumped. So they just lumped everything. It's like aspirin is also a painkiller, but so is Percodan, but you can't put them in the same family. Pause. What do you know? You're glib. You're so glib. Yeah. So I was using. What do you want from me? You know, it makes your winner get real small.
The testicles shrink on you over here. It's really embarrassing. Unpause. The way people perceive HGH, it's amino acids, 191 of them. At this stage of your career, though, would you do something like that to, you know, artificial to get yourself in the kind of physical shape? You cannot, and I only wish it was true. You could just take something like that and you're in shape. You have to put in years and years. years of hard labor to stay in shape. This enhances the most important thing about HCH and I think a lot of people should really be aware of it. Pause. So he's supporting it, right? Like he's saying, you know, it's a good thing, you know. You know, everything in moderation. Coke, you take a little, you don't get addicted to the heroin, you take a little bit, you know. If you've got a juicy juice on, it was my schedule. Tuesdays, Saturdays. Monday through Friday, it'd be crazy. Unpause. It takes off the wear and tear, especially if you're an athlete. The amount of beating that your body takes, the power to recuperate is very, very limited. So all it does is expedite. People think that if that was the case, everyone would be a superhuman being. I've got ten seconds left. You're going to be back with more Rambo? As a matter of fact...
You're looking kind of physical myself. I'm doing a blood test on you immediately after the show. Yeah, why don't you pee in a cup? I think you're so asking high and mighty over there. Hey, you have eights. Yeah. That's what I heard. Defend yourself on that one. Hey, Matt, why don't you tell everybody about the herpes thing? You don't want to talk about it? No. Only questions for Rambo? That guy goes for it, man. Wow. Speaking of going for it, Tyra Banks started asking Hillary Clinton questions about the affair Bill Clinton had. No way. I'm not kidding around, man. I am not kidding around. In fact, we got audio of that. Come back. Real quick timeout. Come back and we'll play you Tyra Banks asking Hillary Clinton about Bill Clinton's affair. And then we'll do something called the Dumb Chick Challenge. Oh. Yeah.

were killed when two private planes collided midair over corona yesterday. The early line for the Super Bowl is New England favored by 13. So, before we went to break, I told you that Tyra Banks interviewed Hillary Clinton and she started asking her about Bill Clinton's affair. Wow. Yeah, I know. Love it. Cut 31. How did you persevere during the darkest moment in your life? Well... Because I had tremendous faith, number one, I really had to dig down deep and think hard about what was right for me, what was right for my family. And I never doubted Bill's love for me, ever. And I never doubted my faith and my commitment to our daughter and our extended family. But I had to decide what I had to do. And I think it's so important. To be able to hear yourself at a moment when it's hard. It might be a family issue. It might be a job issue. There's so many times when you really have to listen to yourself. Were you embarrassed? Well, you know, I was... I would be embarrassed. Well, sure. I mean, all of that. But I also... I was just praying so hard and thinking so hard about what's right to do. That I couldn't let anything else interfere with that. You know, the momentary feelings...
You know, you're mad, you're really upset, you're disappointed, all of that goes through your mind. But I have found you really shouldn't make decisions in the heat of those moments. I wish Hillary would have said, yeah, I was embarrassed. I wish she would have. Because you know me, I'm always, I'm attracted to real deep honesty and, you know, whenever I sense that somebody's hiding something, it's... I get weird stuff. I don't know what that is. But anyway, that's interesting. There's more of that, too. There's more where that came from. Why don't we do a little bit of this? In what may prove to be a veritable innuble exercise in the substantiation of mental acumen, The Mikey Show presents a somewhat gelastic moiety called The Dumb Chick Challenge. You guys know how this works. Come on, this is good. Basically, the idea is...
We take the three dumb chicks on the show. Sky, Ashley, and Boston Rob. And we ask them what we consider to be easy questions about stuff. You know, everything. Pop culture. History. Geography. Stuff that most children know. Well, yeah. Really smart children. Well... Who are about to become adults. No. So... What you do is you call us, 570-1053. You call us right now. And hit us up. What you're going to do is you're going to pick which person you think will win the Dumb Chick Challenge. Will it be Sky? Will it be Ashley? Will it be Boston Rob? I think B-Rob won last week. No. No? Sky, did you win? I thought so. I think you did. Boston Rob still hasn't won. Yeah, since Rob's been back, he's been the worst. He's been back now a few weeks, and he still hasn't won the Dumb Chick Challenge?
Correct. What's going on with that guy? I don't know. Weird. I didn't win last week? I thought you did. I thought I did too. Scott, you won that first time I was back. In fact, I thought he won in short order. Yeah, I won with two questions. What about him being short? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wow. What were you saying? Yeah, let's go back to that. Ouch. This is what you do. Call in, pick your person, hope they win, cross your fingers, hope for the best, and hope it doesn't take too long. Usually it does. P1 Ashley is on the line. Ashley, are you there? Here. Who would you like? I want Sky. It's a pretty good bet. It's a pretty good bet. I would say... I remember what happened. Odds on that are seven to four to one. Oh, I remember. Yeah. Rob won. And then I like call shenanigans on the question or something. And you're like, Sky, I'll give you a three pointer right now. If you can get it, then you're the winner. And I did get it right. It was because Rob won two questions back to back. So you had never gotten the opportunity to like tie him. So then you were given a three pointer. So Rob won. And then we gave Sky. I practically tied him. So we're both right. Right. Really, we're both right. What happened?
P1 Chris. Yeah, I'll take B-Rob. B-Rob. Hang on. P1 Ken. Yeah. You get Ashley. Okay, cool. Oh, great. She's writing this high. I know. American Idol stuff. Had her all hyped up. She's going to be on American Idol tomorrow night, and now she's last person selected for dodgeball. All right, the way that the game works is you must reach five points. It's pretty easy. You must reach five points. And so you get one, two, and three-point questions. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. You just select what you want. Have no memory of who went first last time. I think it was Ashley, but I'm not sure. It was Rob. Rob. That means Skye goes first this time. No, me, me, me. All right, Skye. Skye usually has a system. Yeah, it's been working pretty good. She goes two-point question, two-point question, one-point question to get to five. That's how she does it.
You're going to stick with that strategy? Duh. All right, Sky, your two-point question is... Here we go. Who wrote Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? Oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Sky... Maybe, like, blow his brains out or something? Sky is looking... She's gazing at the table. Hmm. She's thinking maybe the answer's written on the table. Right. Now she's smiling and closing her eyes. You guys are in my head. I'd go back to the table. Now she's thinking about the table. He's really weird. Boston Rob. All I keep thinking is Paul Thomas Anderson, but that's not right. I just don't think it is. That's not right. That's not the answer. Dr. Seuss. Go with your gut. I don't know. Michael, all right, fine. My gut is Bill Cosby. All right, Stephen King. It's not in there. It should be. I'll know the name once you say it. Liberace. Liberace. It's correct. Hunter S. Thompson. That should be your hero. Why should that be my hero? That's right. He liked his stuff. Ashley. She looks so... What's that? I'll take a three.
Wow, look at that. Stop it. She says, you know what? Let's do this. She's got this giant lock of bangs hanging in her left eye right now. And she just goes, you know what? Give me a three. You got it, Wana. Why did I not? You got it, Lefty. Why is this so weird? I always go for the three. No, you don't. Here is your three-point question. Oh, man. Everyone's freaking out. Ironically, manufactured by inmates, New Hampshire's license plates have this phrase on them. Have you ever heard of William Hung? Please don't look at my head, Eddie. I can think this one out, guys. Something about taffy. Something about what? Taffy. Something about taffy. Heading in the right direction. You follow that thought, you. Where did that even come from? I will say... I'm Taffy for Taffy. On the license plate, yeah, it's something that I'll know once you say it. Like... I don't know. I really have... Is it Taste the Rainbow? Ashley, I'm sorry. I don't know. What it says is, live free or die.
The Taffy. Yeah. Live for Taffy. Live for Taffy or die. Oh, I was thinking of New Jersey. Yeah. There's the Taffy. There's the Taffy state. They have the great tower of Taffy there. No harm she doesn't affect my personal life. Come on. Boston Rob. Give me a three. You got it, kid. Look at this tough guy. You got it. Oh, so confident. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Rob, in the TV show MASH, what did MASH stand for? MASH? What does MASH stand for? I hated that show. Wow. It's not really a question about the show. Yeah. It's not. What does MASH stand for? You should be an expert. What we're doing is we're trying to give you a reference point. Instead of just saying, what does MASH stand for? Oh, yeah, I see. I got to dumb it down a little bit and kind of give you the... Why don't you ask me about the A-Team, Mike? Come on. You don't got a different strokes question in there? What about Knight Rider? Kit. MASH. Let's see. Medical. Let's see. Oh, my gosh.
There was some cross-dressing queer in that show, right? Yeah, wasn't that Jamie Favre? Yeah, Jamie Favre. Oh, you know what? I have no idea. MASH stands or something? I just thought it was like... Is that a MASH unit? You never heard that? No. All right, well, we are on fire today. You guys are smart. MASH stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. Who cares? Whatever. Idiot. Be so quick on the three trigger there, Rob. Yeah, Rob. You going to do it? I'm going to do it, too, again. All right, Sky. Garbage. What country is Munich located in? Oh, wow. She came right up to the mic, and then she laughed away from the mic. It was like a pump fake. That was a pump fake.
Well, immediately I had an answer, but then I'm like, you answered quick before, and it's not. Chula Vista. It's in Chula Vista. Stare at the table. Sean, shut your mouth. Mordor. I believe... It's in Mordor. Write it down. It's in Hobbits. Hey, I saw all those three movies. It's not. Gotham. Yes, it's not there. I saw those two. Sky, you know this. Central City. The Emerald City. Sky. Germany? Yes! Sky's got it on the board. I'm on the board. Ashley? Yeah? Come on, get into it. You can do this. Have confidence again. Whatever. One. Whatever. What? She just doesn't care anymore. Aww. Try hard. Ashley, who invented the telephone? Who? My friend Lisa, what do you think? He's learning so much. H&T. You've asked me this question before, and I said the wrong answer. I still didn't know it. Is it still the same person? It's not Albert Einstein. It's the other guy. Yeah. It's the other guy. Yeah, yeah, the other guy.
Not Albert Einstein. You told me before. I know it. Give it to her. I got it. Rob, you're up. Liberace. Was it Fat Albert? Jimmy Superfly Snooker. You can seriously just move on. Oh, come on. Give me some answer. You can throw it out. Who invented the telephone? Thomas Jefferson. No. I don't know. He didn't. I don't know. Like, just move on. He didn't. He didn't. He didn't. I don't. You do. I don't. This affects your personal life. It really does. This one does. It really doesn't. It kind of does. Alexander Graham Bell invented the... She's pointing her finger at me like, that's right, Mike. I was saying Liberty Bell. That's right. See how my brain works. That's right. See how my brain works. That's it. That's it. Got it totally wrong.
Boston Rob. How many points does Skye have? Skye's got two points. She's got two? No, look at Skye rolling her eyes. You're so... Give me a two. You want a two? Oh, really? He was real confident a minute ago. Rob, what does the police code 5150 mean? Oh, you know what? Hold on. Yeah, I've been there. How many times have you been arrested for that? I hear it almost every time I'm arrested. I'm getting a text from my probation officer. Oh, I can't think of this right now. Well, Ashley's so irritated. This one's easy. I've seen it on the blog so many times. I forget that he doesn't listen to the show. Oh, shut your mouth. Oh, yeah. Shut it. Shut it good. Shut your meow. Shut that mouth. Shut your meow. Shut that mouth. Is 51-50? Yeah. I don't know. Van Halen's eighth album. You're so cute. Shut your mouth. Yeah, you shut your mouth. Is that the amount of points the Patriots scored this season? Oh, really? Oh, really? Is that it? Come on. I can't think of it. Wow. There's so many dudes screaming in their cars right now.
In their cells. Yeah. 5150 is a person that is a danger to them. Oh, yep, yep, yep, yep. Or others. That's what Brady Spears got put on. Remember the big story we covered on our show? Oh, wow. I must just be an idiot. Yeah, I must hate the Mikey show. Is that your point here? Is that it? Such a meow. Oh, hi. You're so... Are you going for a two-pointer? Yes, please. You got it. Skye, what word do most ambulances have written in reverse on the front of their vehicle? What? You really heard her. That one sprained the brain. That one sprained the brain. Again, again, again. Tap out, tap out. No, I want to hear it again, Eddie. She had that confused look on her face. Her eyes were darting left to right like, is this some kind of a practical joke? I don't know if it's a sprain. I think it's a tear. It's a tear. She carried her.
All right. Her brain. Here's the question. Yeah? What word do most ambulances have written in reverse on the front of their vehicles? Why would it be written in reverse on things in from the inside? Are you making things up? So someone can put a mirror to it and read it? Maybe I haven't woke up yet. Is the alarm going to go off any moment? What the hell? Are we talking the windshield or the floor? What sort of third world nation do we live in? Are we talking like the windshield or the front grill? This isn't Palestine, Mike. Yes. Oh, my God. We're not in the Gaza Strip. I am just going to guess. And I will guess emergency. Yes. Yes, Skye. Hey, don't look at me like I'm a jerk. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait, wait, wait. Oh, Skye, you're so dumb. Wait, wait, wait. I think this is wrong. This says, it says ambulance. I think Skye's right. I'm going to award you that, Skye, because it says here on this thing, it says ambulance. I don't think that's right. Why would it say ambulance? Why would it say anything? And why is it in reverse? So you can see it in your rearview mirror. Yeah, when you hear... Oh, that makes sense.
Yeah, I would say emergency would make more sense. Sky, I'm awarding you that. Yeah, I'm the best. I don't know about that. Google it, someone. Yeah, let me Google it. It says that the word ambulance is written on the phone. Yeah, then, Sky, you're wrong. I'm sorry. Wait, you gave it to me. I'm sorry. You gave it to me. I don't know why I questioned it. You gave it to me, though. I wonder if some say emergency, because, Sky, when you said that, I go... What made you think that? I don't know. I go, I think she might be right, but it says here on the sheet, it says ambulance. I'm doing research. Yeah. Do your research. Sky, Google it. Google an image, and then we'll wait to award you the point. Right now, you don't have the point. Questioning the dumb questions. Unreal. All right, Ashley. Yeah. After that comment, you want a three, right? Absolutely. You got it. No, no. You're going to get this one. Why wouldn't I? You're going to get it. Why are you guys all thinking about it? You're going to get it. Why is that so weird? You got this one. I've known every question Rob and Skye have had so far. Okay. But you didn't know the question that you got in a previous game. Here we go, Ash. Shut your mouth. Yeah, why don't you shut your mouth over there? Shut it. It is ambulance. It is? All right, Ash, you ready? Yeah. What element?
Oh, no. Come on. It's not going to be a good day. I like you to come back at me. I just wish it was good insults. But what happened? All you do is talk over me and you go, damn, damn, damn. That's all you do to me. But I didn't, though. What happened? Why are they fighting today? I thought we were going to be in a good mood. Sounds like somebody's got a case of the moon days. I was just kidding around. I can hear it. I mean, somebody's got a case of the moon days. I was just kidding. Sounds like somebody's got a case of the Mondays. We all do on this show, but... Sounds like a case of the Mondays. Here is your question. Uh-huh. What element is represented by the letters N-I on the periodic chart? Eddie's got his hands over his eyes like, come on. Come on. Nitrogen. No. No. It's a guess. It's a dang good guess. No. It's nickel. Nickel is represented by... What's dame? All right, Rob, what do you want? Give me a three. You got it, dude. You got it. This is another acronym. Oh, no. I hate acronyms. Shut your mouth. Subject. Yeah. I flunked acronym school. I would cut that class, Mike. What does GPS stand for? Ash, do you know that one?
You said that you've known all the ones that I've been asking Rob and Skye. Do you know that one? Hello, easy face. Party of wine. GPS? Do you know that? Write it down, Skye. Write it on a piece of paper, Skye. No, no, no. Don't look something up. What are you doing? I'm giving it to Eddie like he asked me. Calm down. I didn't hear it. Is your head still there? I think it got bit off. I think that one's related, Robby. Pretty close. Yeah, check for his head. I apologize. Eddie, is she right? She's right. Can I answer now? Yes, you can. Global positioning system. You are correct. That's right, Mike. I got a lucky IM from my friend James from Boston. All right, Sky, what do you want? I want an easy three like Rob got. A three? You want a three-pointer? I want an easy one like Rob got. Okay, you got it. Now, this one is easy, Sky. Oh, great.
What is TKO short for? Oh, man. She got a look on her face. That couldn't be the easiest three-point question we've ever asked. That's a three? I know. That may be the easiest. That can't be a three-pointer. In reference to what? There's only one reference. That can't be a three. Am I from Germany? What do I look like? Munich here? This is the worst. That one's easy, right? Of course. Are you kidding me? Of course she does. Of course I know it. It's not my question. Of course I know it. Now I'm using logic. I think I can figure it out. Well, based on what you just said, I'm going to take a guess. I'll use my hemology. There's no such thing. Total knockout. Hang on, hang on, hang on. Sometimes when things happen, there's a part of it that's your favorite. There was a part of that that was my favorite. And the part was just 100% confidence. It was the, and suck on that. Okay, let's break. Hit the button, Mike. And run later. Yeah.
Victory. Give me the belt. The tip is here. Give me the total knockout belt. That's right. Am I even in the right? Yes, you are. Word off. Word off. What? Gene, you're totally wrong. Total knock on. Total knock up. It's technical knockout. It's a technical knockout. Ashley thought it was right, too. I did. No way. Ashley. Not a half knockout, a total knockout. I totally did. What is the matter with you? Oh, that's awesome. Wow. You did? Yeah. Wow. All right, Ash. One, two, or three. Did that even affect your personal life? Like, you're good. No, not really. But they didn't need to, like, laugh at me like that. Like, what? Like, I'm a boxing referee or something? Like, I ref boxing matches? Total knockout. Total knockout. Like, you are the smartest person in the world. That's why we're laughing. I even said, I don't even know what this is in reference to. If you would have been like, I'm not sure. Then when Eddie said, oh, yeah, you would know, Ash. Then you start thinking about it. You're like, how is it?
I got it. In your face, guys. Total knockout. You acted like that. Well, how about Ashley laughing at Skye going, how did I know this? I totally did. Yeah, I'm an idiot too. All right, come on, Ash. You got this. One, two, or three. You want a three. I can smell it. You want a three. A two. Oh, no. Come on, Ashley. Ashley, Ashley, Ashley. I mean, I have not gotten one right in so long. Ash, you got this one. You got this one. You got it. You got this one. You got this one. You got it. Are you ready? Yeah. Ash, in which country do they speak with a Cockney accent? Careful. Watch. Watch. Her expression did not change from the moment I began the question. So right now, she has maintained the exact same expression just looking at me. Africa. Africa's a continent, first of all. Oh, did you say something else? Country. Zimbabwe. Fine, you're up.
Actually, it's England. In England, they speak with a cockney. They speak with a cockney accent. When we do the flit thing, that's cockney. Flit. Yeah, it's like the redneck version of speaking English. They speak like this. They don't speak proper like this. This is proper. Gotcha. But when you speak with a cockney, and you're a big-time flit. Like in Snatch. That's right, in Snatch, they spoke with a cockney accent, and they spit on the ground. Rob. Give me two. You got it. Rob, name the system by which books are cataloged in a library. Okay. Oh, no. Never been to one of those, Mike. What is that? What's a library? First things first. Three-pointers should be, what's a library? Please. Would it be the shelving system? Wait. Hold on. Hold on. The library. Alphabetically. Yeah. Does that be my answer? I guess that's not it. Eddie's stealing questions. Never mind. So it's not alphabetically. The numerical system, Mike. The numerical. No. Incorrect, Rob. What is it? It's the Dewey Decimal System. Oh, yeah. What did you just say?
I didn't say anything. What did she say? She thought she knew the answer. Whatever she worded to me was not right. What was it? I don't know. What did you say? Nothing. I didn't say anything. What did you say? Sister. Did she whisper to you? She mouthed it and I couldn't understand it, but it wasn't Dewey. Listen, I will hold no judgment. I'm holding a piece of paper in front of my face. I will not hold judgment. I promise. I will not. I promise. That means he will laugh right in my face. I will not. Like last time. Look at me. I am stone-faced. Please. What were you going to say? I will not react. This is a safe place. A safe place. A safe place. What are you going to do? Laugh at you? Who cares? What are we going to do? It just goes along with all the other dumb stuff you say. Eddie, that's not helping. What happened? It doesn't matter. I'm saying it doesn't matter. I'm saying it doesn't matter. Come on, Skye. Oh, no. It's like somebody's really got a case of the moon. Whatever. All right, Skye. You want to try three-pointer, Skye? Wrap it up? Hurry up. You want a three-pointer?
All right, Skye, you'll get this one. Yeah. What country was Russia previously known as? Well... Oh, my God. I mean, again, something immediately pops to the Soviet Union. You are correct. And I was thinking the card catalog. Job well done. Have you heard of the card catalog? P1 Ashley. The library, the card catalog? The card catalog. But then I'm like, they're digital now? Did they change it to, like, the digital catalog? Ashley, Sky won for you. Eddie, what did she win? We got a $50 gift certificate, the Sports Chalet. Hang on the line. Don't go anywhere. When we come back, I can't wait to hear this. Paula Abdul, who we all heard is performing at the Super Bowl, right? So it doesn't matter who you are. You're going to be subjected to Paula Abdul. But she debuted her new song.

However, we do have some rain coming down, and you may have noticed, especially in the North County right now, some heavy parts in some areas. It's drifting in the Kearney Mesa right now with some light rain, and that's just enough to make some problems on our freeways. Fortunately, there's not a lot of traffic on the freeways because of the Martin Luther King holiday, but be careful out there. Another slowdown step on Fives of Encinitas. Nothing really too serious. No major accidents. It is 7.55. Today is Martin Luther King Day. All government offices will be closed today. Tough loss for the Chargers yesterday. They were in it almost to the end. New England ends up winning 21-12. Tough loss it is. Tough loss. Welcome back to the show. So we said before we went to break that Paula Abdul, who's going to be performing at the Super Bowl. Come on. And they're already kind of, you know, the spin doctoring is already in full effect with that.
They're already letting everybody know she'll be lip syncing. It will not be a live performance from Paula Abdul. What's the point? What is the point? I mean, I guess people are speculating. Well, it's Fox. But I mean, Paula, you're really going to this late in the game get back into the singing thing? It's been like at least 15 years. At least. At least. Straight up was a hit in 88. Or 88. 88, 89. One of those. I mean, a long time ago. And now, for those of you that are young, you got to give credit where credit's due. When she was a popular singer, she had hits. She was all right. Songs were big hits. But the Paula Abdul we see today is a little bit different. Well, Ryan Seacrest. Ryan Seacrest. He does a morning show at KIISFM Los Angeles.
And he debuted it. You know, they're friends. She came on the show and debuted her new song, which Randy Jackson produced. Well, of course. Now, can you imagine the... Did you guys feel she had to talk him into that? Did he offer? How did that come about? Well, he's worked with Mariah and Whitney, so Paula's like the next logical... The next logical, you know... Progression. Progression, yes. Regression. Cut 18. Four years old. And I always kind of defer to Ashley with kind of stuff like this because she's in that young, hip, going to clubs, even though she doesn't really go to clubs anymore, but she still gets it in that regard. Ashley, what do you think of this song? I think it's very bad. How come? It's very generic. There's no uniqueness to it. There's no... What's it called when you redevelop or you remaster yourself? Reinvent. Reinvent. Yeah, I mean, it sounds like straight up, but 15 years outdated. You know what I mean? It almost sounds like a bad imitation of what her old stuff used to be good. So this to you sounds like old pop music. Well, no, this to me sounds like a really bad, cheap remix of an old, popular Paula Abdul song.
This reminds me of Lindsay Lohan. You know that song, Rumors? Right. Like, that type of song. Right, right, right. It almost practically sounds very similar, actually. Now, see, I don't know too much about this kind of music. So when I'm listening to it, I'm going, I don't know. It sounds like something I'd hear on the radio. Yeah, I mean. It sounds like that. I was expecting a train wreck. But, I mean, to me, it just sounds like what you hear on the radio. Yeah, it sounds very J-Lo to me. It sounds very, I heard a little Lindsay Lohan in there. Eddie, what do you think? You know, it's... I agree with Ashley. Very generic. Like, the lyrics are ridiculous. Dance like there's no tomorrow. And, like, there's so much effect on her voice. It's like, no wonder she can't sing it live. I mean, it's ridiculous. Yeah, it sounds like the new Britney stuff where you can, like, barely hear the vocals, you know, because to me, they're trying to hide the vocals.
Yeah, I got to say, I'm surprised by it personally. I thought I was going to sound like a total turd, and I was like, sounds like normal stuff. I don't know that I would have, if I had heard it on the radio, I don't know that I would have gone, oh, that's Paula Abdul. I may not have known who it was, and I'd have gone, oh, it's a new pop song. Because you can't hear the vocals. I don't know. To me, it just sounds like I'm listening to 933. Sounds like pop music. Well, when she debuted the song, she told Ryan that Simon is going to be sick over their success, over Paula and Randy's success. He'll be sick over it. I think we're pretty much all we get that that's a joke. You know, come on with that stuff. You don't have to pretend that anymore. Yeah, we get it. That was like five seasons ago. This is pro wrestling. Exactly. We're in on the bit. Yeah, we get it already. Stop it. All right, so check this email out. Tell me what you guys think. Mikey, have you heard of a man-gagement ring? What the heck is that? I guess this is a new trend where women give their men an engagement ring to wear.
My fiance heard about it and wants me to wear one. I really don't want to. I know people will ask about it, and I don't want to explain it. She has had trust issues in the past, and I think she wants me to wear it because of insecurities. What do you think? Thanks for your time. Signed, P1 Sticks. I'm a little confused about the man-engagement ring. Well, an engagement ring is what we give to our... To our fiancé, guys, give it to our ladies, and it's a diamond ring. That's an engagement ring. And when we get married, guys, we just wear a band. And so I'm thinking, what is the man-gagement ring? What does it look like? Is it in addition to your wedding ring? If anybody knows about man-gagement rings, by the way, 570-1053, please educate us and let us know about man-gagement rings.
So you know how with a ring, with an engagement ring for a woman, a woman wears the engagement ring with her wedding band. And the wedding band you get on your wedding day, ladies. And so you wear them together. Is this what man-gagement rings are? Are man-gagement rings two rings? Like you wear your wedding band when you get married on the day of, and then the man-gagement ring is something in addition to that? I have no idea. I would assume that there are two separate rings. Like you get one as your engagement ring. Excuse me, man-engagement ring. And you take that one off and then you put on a wedding band. Do you put it in your purse? Yeah, exactly. That's what Tom Brady does. He puts it in his purse? His murse. He puts it in the murse? Well, personally, I have a ring that's a cross. and I wear that on my right hand, and then I have my engagement ring. So I'm not opposed to the idea of rings. Maybe you move it to the other hand or something. I just want to know, what do these things look like?
Skye, are you Googling man engagement rings? Yeah. Maybe should I have men engagement rings or something? Yeah, no, it's coming up. It's definitely coming up. Send me the link. Well, this is, you know, this is a jewelry store. And then the next one I'm going to check out. Let me send you this link. See, the only way that you can wear it to let the girl's insecurities be taken care of. is to wear it where your wedding ring is going to go so that she's not insecure. Then women think you're taken. It's just how gay does this thing look? Or is it masculine? Let's take a look. And let's take a call, too. P1 Steve, are you there? Yes, I am. Your wife gave you a man-gagement ring? Yes, she did. I actually proposed to her, and then about a week later, she kind of proposed to me. And she wanted to propose her love or whatever to me, and she gave me a ring for our engagement. And so I wore that ring during our engagement. But then once we got married, I took that ring off and put on just a band, you know, a simple band that matched her band. All right, I'm looking at one right now. I'm looking at a man-gagement ring right now. The one that Sky Googled up is from Cartier. Ooh.
It's a, I'll try to describe, it is gold and it is very, very thin. So definitely going to be worn in conjunction with your band. It does not go all the way around. It is not a complete ring in that it is a complete circle. Yeah, that one is, but other ones I've found are. Let's take a look at another one. Yeah, this. The second link I sent you says that many men's engagement rings today are available in wedding sets. The wedding band is a similar matching ring with a complementary stone. So it sounds like the man-gagement ring is very simple. Oh, dude. Yeah, that one on top is a little bit different. I'm looking at this one Sky just sent me. And this one's like platinum. And it's pretty wide. I would say a quarter of an inch wide. The material. And it looks like platinum with gold down the middle. And then right in the center is a ruby, and it's surrounded by diamonds. What the heck? I mean, dude. Is that a class ring? Yeah, this website says... It looks like it's going to be on Dorothy's slippers. Yeah, this website says, Today, many men wear engagement rings to declare privately and publicly the love a couple shares. Oh, boy. I had no idea. Well, now that I've...
Had the opportunity to take it in a little bit. No way in the world. Why? Why? How is that lame? I'll tell you. The idea of it to me is so non-traditional that my mind is repelled by it. Immediately. No, wait a minute. It doesn't scare me. That's unfair characterization. Well, anything. I think that you are a very traditional person by nature. Sure. Especially in things such as marriage. Such as? Iraq. Iraq. I mean, I think it's only normal for you to, of course, be, like, against it. Yeah, absolutely. I am into traditional marriage values. You're also a scaredy cat. I'm telling you, Sky, this is not fear-based. Eddie, are you afraid to? No. What do you want? Powering over here.
I almost cried. So dumb. It's just... That's supposed to be for the lady. It's a ring, like, based on insecurities. Well, not on... Okay, now that part of it is, like, real. What Eddie just said right there, that's real, and, you know, yeah, okay? So there's, like, that, I think, is the key, what you just said. Then there's the other part of it too, of just like, come on with, I like, I'm going to feel so like, okay, take something that up until this point we've known as something that just women do. Like for instance, wearing high heels. If somehow this thing came out where men were wearing these shoes that went up in the air and had a long, you know, thing at the heel and they look like high heels, I'd be like, what? No, that's not an appropriate analogy. Why? It's something that women do. It's something women wear. Men wear rings. You can't make that. Men wear rings. Okay, okay, okay, okay. You got me on that one. You give me a second to think about it. Okay, men wear necklaces. Women wear necklaces. If all of a sudden it became a deal where part of men's fashion was a string of pearl necklace. Sexy.
I'm telling you that my mind is very repelled by it, and it is not fear. You're scared. Sounds gay. It's lame. Okay, then I have an analogy to contradict your analogy. Please do. I love analogies. Okay. My analogy is in terms of a man has a wallet, a woman has a purse, right? Yes. But over the years, things of these natures have combined together, and now there's things... that people call a nurse? Such as? Man bag? Yeah, but I think... Popular now? I don't carry a man bag. I didn't say that you... I mean, I didn't even say that you did. I put that in the same category. I mean, you do carry one, but I didn't even bring that up. I don't carry one. I wasn't even bringing that up. I was just saying. Over time, these things become normal. I'm afraid. Yeah, I think of the man purse the same way I think of this ring. That's dumb. What are you doing? It's like women... Carry a backpack if you want to carry your stuff. It was a huge fad to wear those leopard print heels. And then men started buying shoes with leopard prints on them. You're talking about a pair of Vans I had that were leopard print. What?
That is not high heels. But I'm just saying the leopard print was a female thing. You're getting attacked for no reason. And then a man. Why aren't they attacking me? Well, because you don't do these very metro things. Yeah, but you would never see me wearing a man-gazement ring. Well, yeah, because you don't do these things. Mike does these things. I don't have a merce. But he's drawing the line here. I don't have a merce. Tell me something that I do. Leopard shoes. I got to think about the left. Stop pretending you don't have a nurse. You have a nurse. Does your husband moisturize? Does your husband moisturize? I wish he would. Let me tell you something. I'm keeping this young, beautiful skin forever. But I'll admit to you. But I'll admit to you. It is very Metro. It is very Metro. Now, it is something that I do secretly. It's something that I do secretly. I'm fine with doing stuff that's girlish. Just don't do it in public. I don't want to see it. I don't want to see your man-engagement ring. When you're in the house, wear your man-engagement ring. I moisturize in my toilet, in the bathroom. In the bathroom. In the privacy of my own bathroom, I moisturize. So, yes, I do. But I've got to think about that, Vans and the leopard shoes.
I think those vans were cool. I mean, you shamed me out of them, but I thought they were pretty cool. Buy me some penis and cracker jacks. Fine. P1 Steve, you there? 5701053. Funny. Yeah, I think it's weird. That's what I think. And I think that it is a symbolism that you haven't earned yet. Not earned. You haven't. It's a symbolism that you have not got to yet. Don't deserve? Not don't deserve. Not haven't earned. Well, what about the chick? Why does she earn it? Because that's something that we do with women. Because she deserves it? So why does the dude have to earn it? You just heard me say, not earn, not deserve. And you two are stabbing me with that word. Okay, what word did you dare? You're stabbing me right in the face like a fork. Isn't it too sweet in the relationship? I said I misspoke you.
You rastles. Why doesn't he deserve it? You vultures, you hyenas. Give me a word then. What word are you using? Men should only wear something to symbolize their marriage after the vows. Women, we know, they have something beforehand. Why? Because that's the way it is. That's called tradition. Because he doesn't deserve it, Scott. That's the way it is. Because everybody else does it that way. Because they didn't earn it. They didn't earn it. Why do you want us to? Oh, I don't. Why do you want us to? You're making the argument. I think if the dude's into it, cool. Awesome. Like, if I get a ring and you want a ring? Oh, totally. But I don't. Okay, then you don't need to have one. The argument's over. But I gotta tell you. But if you want one, I'm not gonna judge you for wearing one. Oh, for sure not. Actually, Sky would be the first to judge. And let me explain. What? Let me explain. This is another example of Sky saying something she doesn't mean. Wow. Well, you just heard what I said, right? Let me explain. To explain. Oh, no. Explain. I'm going to randomly select somebody. Zeth. Whoa. I just randomly selected somebody. You want me to select somebody else? I will. No. Zeth. Oh, man. Zeth's dead, baby. If Zeth walked in here. Never heard of it. Eddie's already shaking his head. Of course, Mike. Of course, Mike. Yeah, he knows what you're saying. Of course, Mike. Of course, Mike. He's going to say. You haven't even asked the question. Of course, Mike.
So, point proven. That's all. That's all I have to say. That's all I have to say. We all know. If Zeth was wearing a man-engagement ring, I'd be like, that's pretty cool. I didn't even know that existed. I wish I had something to throw. Oh, my gosh. Guys, let me tell you something. Let me tell you what would happen. Let me tell you what would happen. Let me tell you what would happen. What would happen? Zeth would walk out of the room. Right. And Skye would go, did you guys just see that? And we would go, see what? His hand? No, what? He had like a wedding ring. I think he had a man-gagement ring on. Oh, definitely. I definitely pointed out to you guys, but me personally, I would think, oh, that's neat. Neat. But I would know you guys, it would drive you up the wall, so I'd point it out to you. That's totally true. Now, I gotta think about that. You may be right. Yeah, but I would... Maybe that is the deal. Eddie, is that the deal? Or is she just saying that now? It could go either way. It really could. She could either be like, oh, that's neat. Or she could mock. She's known to do that, too. She's known every once in a while. Every once in a while. Our girl Skye will mock Zeth. Only Zeth. All I said was...
If Zeth, that's as far as I got. And Eddie goes, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh. Don't go away. Got a lot more coming up on the show. Did you guys hear about Brittany inviting the paparazzi over to her house over the weekend? For a party? Trivial pursuit. Details next. It's Mikey. On The Rock. A lot of people taking the day off today, which is maybe a good thing because we've got some rain coming down in parts of the county right now, and it is kind of heavy in some pockets, especially in the north county, making the roadways a little slick, so be careful out there. But fortunately... Uh, no major accidents. The southbound side of the 5, uh, looking pretty good. Just a brief delay through Sonalana Beach. Nothing too bad at all. South 15, you've got a little heavier stuff through Ranch, Bernardo, off and on into Poway. Uh, the east county has been looking great, though, all morning long. The westbound 52, the 8, the 94, they're all up speed and problem free. And no worries out of the south bay. Both the 5805 northbound, they're, uh, moving right along. Is the TMZ Report with Katie Darrell. Yeah. Get my Katie on track.
A bunch of stuff happened over the weekend. Katie! Yeah? How are you? I'm good. How are you guys and girls? We're good. We're good. Terrific. Hey, before we get into anything, before the year ended, we talked to you. You had broken up. You were in the single life. Yeah. How's the sitch? Okay, well, he moved all this stuff out because, you know, I was living in sin because that's the way I roll. Right? That's the way I roll. So he got all this stuff out except for some objects that are still in our storage unit in the basement. Don't sell them like Paris Hilton did. Don't let them get bought by somebody and then sell them. No, no, no. None of that will be happening. And I've just been hanging out doing the single thing. You have a basement? Like where are you calling from? Maine? It's California, right? Yeah, I own a...
A condo, and the condo is a historic building. It was built in 1928, and there's like this basement, and everyone gets a storage unit in the basement. Wow, that's kind of cool. That's crazy. Dude, I do it up good. Man, you're a catch. I'm going to get a good deal. Katie, Katie, what about a celebrity? Would you ever date a celebrity? If it was the right celebrity, yeah. Not like one of these A-list type people or one of these weird fake celebrities. Andy Dick. Yeah, what about Andy Dick? Is Andy Dick out of the question? Andy Dick is out of the question, mainly just because he's annoying. But someone like David Spade, I think he's hilarious. The ladies love David Spade. Why do they like him? He's real funny. I like David Spade. I like that kid that plays Superman on Smallville. He's pretty cute. I like Josh Jumal. Wow. Yes. I like people that try and stay out of the paparazzi and out of the 30-mile zone TMZ.com limelight. So what happened over the weekend? All right, well, we got a couple cool things. Last night at midnight, Kiefer Sutherland was released from jail finally. Can you believe it? He served 48 days, you guys. Wow. That's unreal. He was doing laundry duty while he was in there, so he was fluffing and folding. And I'm just amazed, and I'm actually really happy that he served the full 48 days because...
Think of all the celebrities, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, that go in and they serve like 26 minutes and stuff like that. You got to figure that he may have had a hand in that. Because if he, I mean, what's to say he couldn't have done what all those other chicks did? Well, I totally could have gotten an early release. Don't you guys say, or was it? Now, wait a minute. What about the whole second one thing? Well, from what I heard is the female prison is the one that has these huge overcrowding issues. And so, you know, the men don't get as lucky. That sucks. Right. I'm still pretty confident that he could have struck some sort of deal or paid, you know, to be in a different prison and what have you. And he didn't. And he really worked it out. And, you know, I'm impressed with that. You know, it seems like he did his time. And it just makes it seem more sincere. And I will, you know, give him credit as a celebrity for actually, you know, taking responsibility. So we saw that. And then what else was a big thing?
Well, okay, a lot of this Britney stuff, and I don't know how sick and tired you are of this, but... Everybody says that they are. I sometimes say that I am. Yet, at the same time, I think I'm still... I want to... I just... I don't know why I want to know. I do want to know. I don't want to not know. Yes. Is there something that happened? I don't want to not know. Well, Britney was all around this weekend. And what's interesting is, you know, she had been rolling around with this Adnan guy, her paparazzi boyfriend. Well, he was kind of MIA. He wasn't rolling with her this weekend. Apparently his phone was shut off, so she couldn't get in contact with him. So we have a lot of video of her, like, trying to call and, like, then hanging up and being frustrated. There had been reports at one point that she had a restraining order against him, but that's totally not true, totally false. But now she's been hanging out with... Sam left. Do you remember her manager guy that we saw with her all the time before Adnan? Well, he's back in the picture. It seems that Sam and Adnan are kind of like competing for Brittany's attention. Uh-huh. And so Brittany and Sam were out, you know, just driving around, doing what they do. Brittany's talking to the cameraman, saying, oh, I love all you men, going into the, like, mobile on the run, getting soda and making him pay for it.
And then they went to the rehearsal studio, Millennium Rehearsal Studio, where she had been rehearsing for her past two music videos. And it looks like she's going to be doing some sort of routine where she's dancing on a chair. So I don't know if it's going to be a lap dance feel or what, but she's dancing in a chair and that's what she was rehearsing with. And people at Millennium Studios say it actually looks really good and that she's putting together a really hot routine for this new music video that she's working on. What does her body look like? Is she thin? What is she? She's healthy. End of story. She's healthy. She's not overweight. She's not underweight. She's what a woman of her height should be. Especially after having two babies. And for people to call her fat, I just get really upset about that. Yeah, I don't know what the deal is. I actually don't know if she's really fat. I don't know what's going on. And then, is there one, there was one other thing, right? Besides the Britney stuff, or is that it? Well, we have Lindsay Lohan all over town, you know, in what's created. Oh, no. She gets out of her car at one point, and you know how she likes to wear leggings and tights and everything? Yeah. I don't know if she's wearing, like, sheer-colored tights or if it's just her panties when her dress is tucked in. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Shut up. You are the best, Katie. All right, Katie.
These people just going out and partying. You know, a lot of the celebs were up at Sundance this weekend. So Paris Hilton, I guess, showed up at Sundance just like a rock star. The paparazzi swarming around her almost. It was described by our paparazzi guy up there. It was described like the day she was going to jail. How so many people were swarmed around her in the vehicle. When she showed up at Sundance, they said it was just like that. It was insane. You would have thought that, you know, it was the Pope himself. Why is she even there? Yeah, that's what's kind of annoying with this. Remember when Sundance was all indie and cool and only indie movies? And now it was like 50 Cent was performing there. Are you kidding me? Yeah, what a trip. 50 Cent was at Sundance. That's a trip. Katie, listen, thank you very much. We're up to date and we know what's up. And very cool. And good luck with the... Yeah, and if you guys have any hot single men that have jobs of their own, you know... I know. That's a good trait. That's right. That's right. All right, Katie, thank you very much. We appreciate you coming on. All right. Talk to you guys later. Bye. That's our friend Katie Daryl. She's real pretty. I watch the show and I keep trying to find her on it. Well, she's always in those meetings where they're throwing the ideas around. And she has a website, katydaryl.com, so you can see what she looks like. But she's also on the HDNet. She hosts True Music and a bunch of TV shows on that. And she's single. Oh, hello.
And looking for a fella. Suzanne Plachette died. Now, for me, I'm 37 years old, so I know who Suzanne Plachette is. She was in one of my favorite movies ever, Hot Stuff, with Dom DeLuise. Wow. Yes. Wow. Whoa. She died at 70 years old. What did she die of, Sky? She had been suffering from lung cancer. Dude, I was just going to say, like, oh, my goodness. Or throat cancer. Take a listen to this. Cut 67. Anyway, what are we here for? There she is. Well, I mean, all we have to do is to introduce the special tribute to comedy legends of CBS. Like Lucy? Yeah, and Jackie Gleason and George and Gracie and Jack Benny. And so where are we in the clip? Like, are we, you know, before Gleason and then after Lucy? Bob, I don't know how to tell you this, but we're not in there. Let me tell you something. That sounded like her at eight years old because... What I remember of Suzanne Plachette was very voice, very raspy, very husky. She was on New Heart, and she died at 70 years old. Wow. Let's see. Oh, this story is interesting. Amy Winehouse was supporting her husband at court on Friday and was yelling things out. Yes. Oh, good. Supportive things. Well, that's what you do at court. Yeah. So what did she tell him?
Well, throughout the whole hearing, she was blowing kisses and whispering, I love you. Right. But then at the end of the hearing, she yelled out in the courtroom, quote, I love you, handsome, gorgeous one. Well said. I'm sure it helped. It probably did. It lifted his spirits. Well, yeah, and the judge was like, oh, I didn't know you were so handsome and the gorgeous one. You're free. Yeah. Look at his face. You're out of here. I love you, handsome, gorgeous one. of cool stuff coming up. What was number one at the box office? Well, the movie that was number one at the box office, it set a record. We'll talk to you about that. And happy Martin Luther King Day. Especially to you, Skye. Thank you. Obvious reasons. All of this coming up next and not even done. Try to get your philosophy on something as you're listening right now. What is your philosophy on loaning and borrowing? I'll tell you why after this.

A little bit, yeah. I don't blame you. It's not his fault, guys. Now you're a Zeth supporter? Yeah.
It only took me like seven months on the job to get any support. I got your back, kid. Thanks. Well, I can't even tell where it was. You cleaned it all up so good that you can't even tell it. Well, not really. I got to get home to some spray and wash. You are something else. It is 840. Well, this is starting to make more sense. A new study out says that today is the most depressing day of the year. Patriots are going to take on the Giants because New York beat Green Bay in overtime 23 to 20. Sky, the number one movie over the weekend was? Cloverfield. Ah, Cloverfield. Duh. That's right. It looked like a real good movie to me. Let's see. Cut 43. Here we go, here we go, here we go. Here we go. Shut up, shut up, shut up. Guys, come on. After word of a possible earthquake in lower Manhattan nearby in New York Harbor, we're getting word of an oil tanker
capsizing in the middle of the harbor near the Statue of Liberty. That sounds so great. It sounds so real. That's why I love it. I love real. I love stuff that sounds real. If I was a director, all I'd want is real, real, real. That sounds so good. So I loved it. I thought it was good. It just made me sick because of the camera motion. Right. It made $41 million, which is the biggest January box office debut, dethroning Star Wars, a special edition, which came out in 97. Now, Eddie says that at the end of Cloverfield, because we all left. When Cloverfield started rolling credits, we all got up and left. Yeah, it was a school night. But I understand that apparently at the very end of it, there's like a, what is it, Eddie? Like a hidden little thing? Yeah, I guess at the end of the credits, there's like a secret message that J.J. Abrams put in there. Cut 68. One more. Well, you have to reverse it in order to hear what he's actually saying. Oh, son of a... That was the cut forward. Now let's listen to it backwards. Cut 69. That's great. It's still alive. Play it again. That's rad. I just got the chills. That Abrams, man, he gets it. Oh, that's scary. Awesome. JJ, I say ride that wave of that being cool as long as you can because it's still cool right now. Doing stuff forwards and reverse and hidden messages.
It's still cool right now, man. I dig it. I hope that there's a Cloverfield 2 and that in Cloverfield 2, somehow the guy goes into a store and finds a Steadicam. A Steadicam? Yeah. Wouldn't that be great? He finds like a dolly that he can strap onto his body, you know, that'll like make the camera not shake. That would be really great. Did he say that to you? I can't understand. I don't understand. Help us. Walt is the monster. The black smoke. You guys want to hear Pandemonium breaking out in New York City in Cloverfield? Yes. Cup 44. Sean, are you crazy? What the hell? What the heck do you mean? What the heck do you mean? Because it's a good movie? Oh, nice one. Sean, why didn't you go see Cloverfield? You had to see Mad Money first. No. 27 dresses. You saw that 27 times. How come you didn't go, Shawnee? Well, my wife didn't want to go, and I would rather spend time with my wife than go to the movies. Gay. It's so good, Sean. I'm going this weekend. You get motion sick or no?
Nope, never. Dude, you're going to love it, man. Yes. Because I loved it even getting motion sick. Yeah, man. It didn't affect me at all. I wish it didn't. I wish I didn't have that. I wonder what's the difference. My dad gets that, too. It's an equilibrium thing. When your mind doesn't match what your eyes are seeing, that's why you get seasick when you go out onto the... Well, see, my husband was tripping on that. Because my husband gets seasick, he gets motion sickness in the car, but he was fine in the movie. You know what, now that you say that, it must be different. Because when I'm out on the ocean... That's what he said. He's like, Mike was fine on the boat, but he can't watch the movie? Yeah. I can't. And I've gone deep sea fishing, you know, in pretty rough waters, and my brother Steve, like a girl, is yakking over the side of the... Me and the bros, we're laughing. But I don't get that. But when I see video... You know, either play a video game or go into a movie where the camera shakes. Oh, man. I get so nauseous. I do, too. But it is a really good movie. P1, Captain Chan is on the line. Call us if you saw the movie. Mikey Show. Hi, Captain Chan. Yeah. Captain Chan. Oh, wait. Are you there? I'm here. Go ahead. You're on the air. Yeah. Hello. Hello. You know how they're recording over the original tape?
They record. It kind of cuts back. Yes, yes. At the very end, when they're on Coney Island, it's looking out into the ocean. You can see something fall out of the sky. Shut up. There's a boat, and you can see it. That's supposed to be the whatever it was. It came out of the sky. It crashed into the ocean. Oh, I got to see it again. I got to see it again. Yeah, you got to go look. That's scary. Ocean and monsters. That's scary. I love it. Wait, did you say you found it on the Internet? I know. I saw it, and I wasn't sure, so I checked on the internet, and there's people talking about it on forums and stuff like that. That's freaky. He said, reverse it. Thank you very much for the call. There it is. Oh, shut up. What do you mean? What do you mean it's still alive? What the heck you mean? Yeah, the heck you mean. Stop. Ah, this mic. Please, please. Bad timing right now. Please someone. It's not short. Please. The mic's too short. I can't control my eyes. It's Rob's mic. It's Rob's mic. It's Rob's mic. See, on the show today, who cares? Unless I can bang on the charges, what's the point of talking here? Who cares? The only time I'm going to talk is if it's about the Patriots. I've got news lines about Cloverfield. I'm trying to do Cloverfield.
I'm busy. Patriots, Trivial Pursuit, those are my hot ones. That's what I like to talk about. Yeah, those are the topics I can chime in on. Anything else, don't even bother. Maybe white wine. Yeah. I didn't even go with you guys to Cloverfield. I was too busy. Yeah. Genius edition. Listen to this text message. He's such a jerk. He's such a whine. Say it. He texted me yesterday after the game. Oh, no. Why? Wow. Good game, though. And I don't respond. Oh, you ass. I don't respond to it. So he texted me again. Making sure you're watching something. He texted me again. Yeah. You watching this? The Pats are getting a trophy. Now, would you, like, honestly. That one I responded. Oh, you did?
Just making sure you were seeing it. I said, shut your face up. That's what I responded to. Honestly, would you have sent him a text? I swear to you I wouldn't have. Oh, come on. Listen, I'm just being honest. All I can be, that's all I got. So you wouldn't have said anything either way via text message at that moment? I'll tell you what I would have done. I would have done something. What? What I would have done is I would have come in here and every time him and I made eye contact, I would give him a little smirk. That would have been my thing. I think there would be more than that. I'm just telling you. I'm telling you what I'd give you. It'd be a smirk. Because I would think that you're emotionally shattered because you're so weird when it comes to the Patriots. I would think that you're emotionally shattered and you couldn't stand any more of it. And so I would think the only thing I could give you... Without fear of you setting yourself on fire and running out of the building like a stunt guy. That would be great. Would be me giving you a smirk. Like, it's all you could handle. Meanwhile, that Rolo. Uh-oh. That guy makes me sick. Oh, he's such a turd. Listen to this. Oh, he made me so mad. Where is it? I don't even think. Oh, yeah, I do. He goes.
Looks like your crappy Chargers lost again. Whoa. Not very subtle. Dude, I'm like, is he kidding me with that? Wow. Oh, man. And I wrote him back, nice sportsmanship, typical, classy. He writes me back, shut your hole, poor loser. Oh, gee. Poor loser. You didn't even say anything. I'm sitting on my couch. I'm sitting on my couch. You were asking for it. I wrote back exactly what I would expect. Congrats. Great team. Amazing season. He goes, hey, it's okay. Maybe you can go cry at OGs with LT. This is a winner? This is the guy that won the game? You won the game, you turd. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, but we had to take it all week from San Diego Chargers fans. That's all it was. Yes. I had to read a hex letter. Hey, here's the crazy thing, Rob. I don't know if you realize this or not. You live in San Diego.
expect. You walk around with a Boston tattoo on your neck? There was no respect from these fans. There's tons of respect for your team. Get out of here with you. I'm sorry. Go back to Boston if you love it so much. I'm sorry, man. It's garbage. And I love the line, if you live out here, be a San Diego fan. Don't lie to me. Did you play Trivial Pursuit this weekend? Of course I did. Are you? Of course I did. The Boston edition. Yeah, Boston. No, it's a pop culture edition. It's a masculine edition. When did you play? It's a great game. Friday night. Who won? No one. We all quit. No one was getting any answers right. Are you serious? I was in the lead, but... I was in the lead with zero, but then my girlfriend passed me with zero. No, I had two chips. Everyone else had like one, and then I think Gabe had zero. I'm terrible at Trivial Pursuit, man. It's tough. Unless it's easy. Otherwise, those questions to me are like, you got to kind of be weird to get them. I wish we had a Trivial Pursuit game in here right now so I could randomly pull a question and see if one of us knew it. You can do it online. Don't we have one in the office?
Do we? I think we do. A Trivial Pursuit? Go look. And, Sky, Google a Trivial Pursuit question. Yeah, they have a website. Let's see if any of us know it. To me, they're hard, man. It's like Dumpsuit Challenge. No, it is not like Dumpsuit Challenge. No, it is not, Ashley. I bet we find a lot of the same questions. Oh, we would not. We should check. P1AO, are you there? Yes, sir. What's up? What it do? Hey, I seen that Cloverfield. It was a really, really good movie. It was way too shaky, man. Did you get sick? Nah, I started to, but I took a little bit of a sip of my Sprite. That's what I needed, then a Sprite. A little ginger for the tummy. Yeah, a little ginger. Settle that tum out. Thank you very much. That's cute. I wonder if it would work if I took Dramamine before the movie, if that would work. Or wore a patch. See, I think that's different, Mikey, because I don't get... Look how dumb I got to take pills and patches to let go see a movie and play video games. Is it worth it at that point you got to do that? Is that nothing? No, we don't have it.
Yeah, I'm on their website, and you can play online for free, but I have to download this thing. It's opening right now. Somebody with Trivial Pursuit on your person right now. 20 seconds left. Call us and tell us the Trivial Pursuit. Buffering. I'm buffering. Mike Ho. Oh, good. Mike Ho. 15 seconds. Well, it looks like they got the phone lines fixed after they were cut out of the ground on Friday. It happens. Mikey Show. I have Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture, if you guys want a question. Bring it. Pop culture? Give us one. I guarantee you all know it. And if you know it, you guys, say your name. Say your name if you know it. You guys ready? Yeah, and we can interrupt. What's the category? What's the category? Well, do you guys want TV, fad, buzz, music, movies? Wait, say them again. It's slowly. TV, fads. Wait, fads? Fads. Fads. Fads. TV, fads. Fads. What else?
Movies or sports and games? Oh, forget it, Eddie. You're killing that one. Oh, yeah. I'll remove myself. I'll remove myself. Come on. You want me to play? Yeah, play. But let's do movies. Movies, okay. You guys know movies too, don't you? Yeah. Which category do you chicks think you know the best? TV or what? I don't know. Fads? Yeah. Oh, fads is good. I might not know that. Let's all try fads. Fads, all right. Marco of Aristi, with 20 helpers and 780 gallons of dye, managed to paint an iceberg in 2004. Now, I got a question here. I got a question to your question. I'll answer that with a question. Okay. When you play Trivial Pursuit, is the whole fun of it that you're drunk and you all make fun of how no one knows? Is that the deal? It doesn't affect my personal life. Seriously, like, who knows that? Is that a fad? Right. In 1814, that was a big deal. What? That year, that was real bad. What's the answer? Blue. The answer is red. Okay, great. I knew it. Who cares? I knew it. That's what I was going to say. Awesome. Give us another one. A second. Okay, let's go movies. Go movies. Okay. Who became the first married couple to earn separate Oscar nominations for Best Director? Next. We're all thinking.
Okay. We are? Oh, man. If you say some stupid couple from 1948, I'm going to spit on the microphone. I don't think women were allowed to direct in 48. She's probably right. You're probably right. They refer to that as the good old days. Sexism is so funny. Yeah, on Martin Luther King Day. It's hilarious. All right, it's not that funny. Sean's giving a look like Martin Luther King Day. He's not a woman. Civil rights don't apply to women. They do. Okay, we give up. What's the answer? It's Sofia Coppola. Oh, yes. Oh. Sofia Coppola. That's who I was thinking. Coppola. Sofia Coppola. She got nominated for that Bill Murray thing. Yeah.
And then the old man got nominated for, he's been nominated a billionth. Married. Married. Spike Jones. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, man, there's no way I would ever come up with that. All right, let's do one more, and then we're all going home. All right, what do you guys want? This time, TV. Why not? I'm not getting this one. What sitcom copped 37 Emmys more than any other series in TV history? Eddie. What? Hill Street Blues. Sitcom. Wait, say it again. Oh, cheers. What sitcom copped 37 Emmys more than any other TV series in history? MASH. Ashley. Three's Company. Seinfeld. Seinfeld. The Ropers. Nope. Hanging with Mr. Cooper. Mr. Belvedere. Charles in charge. Facts of life. The answer is Frazier. Oh, I knew that. I hate Trivial Pursuit. Everyone who plays that game is dumb. Hey, thanks for calling, dude.
Thank you. Okay, I'll bring in a thing tomorrow because I have like 90s Trivial Pursuit, which might be kind of fun. And let's see how many we can get wrong. You know, when you start working out, and I've been working out at Frog's Fitness since the beginning of the year, you don't really feel like that need to want it. Like, the thought of eating fast food to me now kind of grosses me out. And I don't know why that is. I guess it's just getting in shape and your body feels better and feels different and all that stuff. So it's been great. I watched that show Take Home Chef on TLC, which that guy skeeves me out. When he picks you up in the market. He's a perv. He only picks out pretty girls.
So I watched a whole episode of that while I was working out. It's great. You can watch whatever show you want. It's been really cool for me. You can do it, too. Does that be my answer? I guess that's not it. And he's stealing questions. Never mind. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. He still fights? That guy was 40 years old. He's 40 years old. It goes a distance. And Jim Lampley said he's never seen a more grotesque eye. In a boxing match. Really? Dude, it was so gross. His eyes. Just swollen? Swollen. It looked so disgusting. Where did he fight? He fought this kid who's like 26 years old. Italian-American? That's my Jim Lampley voice. That was good. Yeah, this Italian guy from New Jersey. His name was Mike Huckabee.
Mike Huckabee. Mike Huckabee. Interesting. No, it was like Mike... Aguirre. Mike Rizzo. I can't remember. But anyway, that was a better fight than the main event. Wow. It's 9.06. Did I say that? What am I doing? You didn't say that. That's 9.06 then. Take that. Kiefer Sutherland was released from jail early this morning after serving 48 days for DUI. So if you want to read our blogs, you can go to MikeyShow.com M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com And when you get to MikeyShow.com Just type in the keyword blogs. Blogs. Blogs. I'm kind of addicted to it now. I kind of like it a lot. Yeah, it's fun. It's fun. It lets you give your private thoughts. Here's the deal. The only thing I'll blog about is stuff that I don't talk about on the air. That's my blogs. Because I figure, well, there's no use me blogging about something I already talked about unless it's something that's really big going on.
Like today, I was blogging about this situation with the cats over the weekend and we had to put one of our cats to sleep. And so I talk about that. But you can go on to MikeyShow.com and type in the word blogs. It's pretty cool. I like Skye's blog a lot. Wow. What she does is she gives you a little glimpse into her life. Last week, it was all about painting the bathroom. Yep. Which still smells, by the way. Today says, blog topic, see-through clothes. So, this is Skies. So, before I share my feeling, I would like to state that I am not talking about clothes that are meant to be see-through. With that out of the way, why the F are so many women's clothes see-through? Right now, wearing a thin white Charger shirt, and you can totally see the outline of my bra. Now, before you jump to conclusions that my shirt is tight, it's not. It's actually very loose, but see-through. Is there some sort of conspiracy going on with the women's clothing industry, and the people are making slips and undershirts? I don't want to buy a dress.
that I have to wear a slip under, and I don't want to buy a top that I need to wear a tank top or undershirt under. It's total crap. If I wanted to wear layers, I would move somewhere where it's cold. Peace. I like it. It's Skye's thoughts. Eddie blogs a lot about sports. Eddie, what did you blog about this weekend? How I feel like I've lost my Oracle powers in 08. Why? Really? I was wrong on everything this weekend. Chargers lost. Packers lost. BJ Penn lost. Or won. Now, is that UFC? Yeah, UFC fight that I blogged about on Friday. I mean, I was wrong about everything. Was that the main event? Yeah. Sean's blogs. Yeah. I don't know what's going on there, dude. I don't get it. Here is Sean's blog. It says, hey, pigs. That is what Sean calls his... Yes. He doesn't like them, and he's pretty open about that, but they love that he doesn't like them. He says, well, first of all, he shows a real strange picture, and it says, welcome to the basement, and then under that, it says, I watched the Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift this weekend. I don't know why. It's terrible, but I love it. Just saw this. Some idiot gangster put a video on YouTube in his guns and...
on YouTube showing all his guns and challenging the cops to come and get him. Hilarity ensues. And then you click on it. Did you see who stopped by? I love the picture above that. Thanks for stopping by, Grandma. Your blog is the best. Sean, you are weird. Awesome. So all of you can see these at MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. Seth, do you need to get a picture up? Ashley's going to be on American Idol tomorrow. Holy moly. Can't wait. I can't either, man. Okay, so what do you guys think of this topic?
And you want to comment on the topic? 570-1053 is the number. Mikey, I know you, Eddie, and Sean are married guys, and maybe you can relate to this. I got married two years ago, and I've been trying to adjust to something that I'm not used to. I feel like I have to ask for permission for everything. My wife wants to always know what's going on, and before I commit to something, I must ask for permission. It's like I'm a little boy. Sometimes I feel like I'm married to my mom. Do you guys have to do that? I remember a while back you and Eddie talking about some calendar you had for your wives. Maybe we need to do that. I just feel weird asking my wife if it is okay to golf with my buddies if I want to. Anyway, thanks for listening. Signed, P1Hawkeye. Well, this is a very... I love the topic. Welcome to marriage. Yeah. 5701053. Well...
Let me give my point, and Eddie, I want you to speak on it. Sean, I want to hear from you. Rob, listen up. I know you're screening phone calls, but you might want to hear some of this, pal. We're about to talk about marriage and what it entails. Okay. My wife and Eddie's wife decided that they were going to start keeping calendars, an actual calendar. And Eddie and I would be responsible for reporting to the colonel, to our wives. and letting our wives know plans that we had. Now, in my home, we did this for a very short period of time. And my wife still keeps a calendar. However, I have nothing to do with the calendar anymore. And the reason is because it isn't that I don't want to tell her. I can't remember to tell her. And this is where there was some friction.
Because she was saying, as soon as you find out, let me know. Well, I could never get into a groove. I could never get into a groove of letting her know when I found out. I couldn't. I couldn't find that place. I couldn't figure out if I'm supposed to take my phone out right then and write a note in it. Or if I'm supposed to send an email from my phone. Because I'm not always in front of a computer whenever I find stuff out. I don't know what to do. Got to remember and tell them. You've got to remember and tell them. And I don't remember. So she gave up. Wow. You are lucky. You still do the calendar? Absolutely. I have to. Yeah. It's a rule. Yeah. Rule? Yeah. You have to. When you learn about stuff going on, like at work or whatever, you have to put it on the calendar. There's no, like, forgetting. Right. Getting in big trouble. Well, okay. Now let's go back to the original question, which is asking for permission. Now, I need examples because I don't know what he means by – and if you're listening, P1 Hawk, I call in. But I don't know what he means by permission. I mean, I will – Like if he wants to go golfing with his buddies, he said, he's got to ask, can I go golfing with my friends? I do not have to do that. However, as a common courtesy, I got to let my wife know what's going on.
I never ask her for permission, but I always let her know, hey, babe, I call her babe. Hey, babe, is there anything? I ask that a lot. Is there anything on the calendar on Friday? No. Okay, then I think I'm going to golf. I've never said these words in my life. Yeah, this is a total fabrication. I think I'm going to golf on Friday. Now, if there's something going on, She won't tell me, but I'll hear it in her voice. And then I'll ask her. That's the way women communicate. Women don't tell you. No, don't roll your eyes, Skye. You're the queen of this. Skye, why would you roll your eyes? Why would you roll your eyes? That is how you communicate. Skye, more than any woman I know. Every woman does this. But more than any woman I know, you more than any woman. There's very few women.
that are capable of you saying, hey, I'm going golfing with my buddies. Very few women are capable of going, if they'd like to spend time with you, there are very few women that will say, you know, honey, I know you just said you had these plans to go golfing, but I have to tell you the way that I'm really feeling is I'd really like to spend some time with you. See, that's not how it went from what you said. Yeah, it would go. This is how it goes. You'd go, hey, babe, you know, I'd like to play golf on Friday. And I'd be like, oh, you know, I was really hoping that we could go to a movie, but I know we never talked about it. So I guess it's up to you. Yeah, I could see you saying that. I think she would. No, no, no. She gave me the friends flip off and I deserve it. You're right. You would say that. Oh. Scott, you would say that. Yeah. But you know that you do this too. Maybe different topic, different occasion. Okay. You do this too. What women do. There you go. Oh. Okay. Yeah. And then it's the guy's responsibility to go... He didn't do it. You have to ask. What's going on? Why did you say it like that? What's going on? Why'd you say it like that? Nothing. I'm fine. That's cool. You can do that. At this point, I'm already irritated. Eddie! Oh, wow. Eddie! What's Eddie doing? Got a dig. That's right.
You have to take out your excavation tools and start digging. You got to take out that little brush. That's what you get for not digging out. Put the light on your forehead. Yes, put the light on your forehead. We're not mind readers, so we got to dig through the BS. Guys, do you have to ask your wife for permission to do stuff? Eddie, so what's the deal? Yeah, of course I do. Permission? Yeah, pretty much. You know, this is a thing that we've gone kind of round and round about, you know. me and my wife that I kind of feel like at times that I'm a little boy and I got to say, you know, can I go do this? It might be my own fault. Maybe I'm just not doing it correctly. But, you know, I feel at times that I have, well, when I say something like I want to go golfing, I'll say, do you care if I go golfing on Friday? That's how I usually will go about saying it. Here's a big question for you. What about in reverse? What do you mean? Well, what if she wants to go do something? What is her deal with you? Most of the time. That was an interesting response. Because if she were speaking, she would have probably a different answer than what I would have. What would she say? I have felt at times that the same rules don't apply for both of us. Give me an example.
do something or make plans and not let me know. Right. And I'll go, hey, when did this come up? Right. Oh, yeah, I was going to put it on the calendar today. Oh, really? Okay. But if I were to do that, I would be in big trouble. Yeah. So we've gone round and round about it. We've got a system. pretty down now that's good and seems to be working. Yeah. Because we haven't argued about this kind of stuff in a long time. But, I mean, getting that thing, like, you know, the fact that I have a calendar is so foreign to me. I mean, I've been, you know, before I met my wife, I mean, I do whatever I want. I don't have to let anybody know what I do. Yeah. So, let me tell you. Well, now I will say this. I believe you got to let, see, If you weren't asking for permission, you would let her know what you were up to, right? Yeah. I mean, yeah. You would let her know you were going gone. It would be weird that it's like all of a sudden I'm gone. Right. I mean, that's just weird. Right. But as far as like a poker party or something like that, like I would have to say, you know, hey, do you mind if I have a poker party? Oh, yeah. I do that. Yeah. I get that because it's. Okay.
Stuff at the house. Totally. I mean, that makes sense. I ask permission. Sure. I ask permission. But for everything else. But for everything else, I don't understand, like, why you need to ask permission. Like, I totally understand running it by the person. But unless you have already made plans with your wife, like, what's the asking permission thing? Well, certain things you've got to get permission for. And it's just like last week, Rebecca said, hey, you mind if I get a boyfriend? I said, you know, hey, listen. I can understand why you want one. See, it's weird because if you're single for a long time, I think you do look at it as asking for permission. But if you've been in a relationship for a while, it's like Mikey said, it's like common courtesy. like running something by somebody it's you know but if you're you've been independent and by yourself for a really long time then yeah it does kind of seem like asking for permission i think it's totally different what would you do ashley well i personally uh asking for permission i i don't i don't
I don't think that would work well with me. That guy wouldn't have to ask you for permission. Well, how would you do it if you're married? I think it would be 100% running the plans by the person, of course. And if they involve the person, then of course you would want to get permission. But if not, then let them know your plans. Well, it's interesting because certain things I'm realizing, yes, certain things I do have to ask for permission. But so does she. She's got to ask too. Rebecca would never, same thing, she would never just have somebody come over. She always asks for permission. But what's strange is, is that I never care. That's the difference. Eddie. Oh, oh. I just hit. I just struck gold. Light bulb. The light bulb just went on. Women care. Yeah. The answer, undeniably, always, for any question, is always sure. But what the real answer is, I don't care. I don't have an opinion. Who cares? That's hurtful to women. It's hurtful to women that you don't have an opinion that somebody's coming over. It's as simple as that. It may be a very light and subtle hurt, but the fact that you don't even give two craps about something happening in my life, how do you not have an opinion of that? But very rarely do I. It doesn't matter what Rebecca could say.
Would you mind if a herd of elephants stay in the garage for the next couple of days as long as they don't touch either car? Sure. Go for it. I'm assuming somebody's going to clean that poop. No question in my mind. If you're asking, it's taken care of. Hey, is it okay if a band of gypsies use the pool to bathe in? Listen, I'm guessing the gypsy is going to leave it the way they found it without all their gypsy juice all over it. That's just my assumption. Who cares? I'm going to leave you to gypsy juice all over the pool. You know what I mean? All right. So I don't. The answer is always, I don't care. Who cares? I'm trying to think of a example, one example where I might care. It would have to directly affect my life. It would have to directly affect my life. Hey, can you take me to so-and-so's house? That's what it is. As soon as it affects me and now I have to be of service. Oh, you're the same way. I'm just being honest. As soon as I'm sorry. Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, we're not in honest class. Oh, no. I thought we were in honest school. Oh, no. And we got a substitute teacher today. What's going on? Oh, no. I thought we were in honest class. Oh, wow. As soon as I believe if it affects any of our lives, if it affects us, if we got you know what I mean?
I don't know about, for guys, yes. Yeah. For guys, yes. I completely agree with you. For women, they just, they have to be involved and they have to know everything and they never want to be surprised. What's the difference between men and women with being surprised? For me personally, it's like, if I don't know about this, what else don't I know about? I thought we were a team. You're a one-person team. I would run everything by Skye. I would run everything I do by Skye if I was ready to hurt her. Oh, I would never risk it. We'd be sharing. You're not asking for permission. But I would run everything by you. Don't think Skye's not unusual. Skye is not unusual. There are a lot of women. For sure. Are you kidding? She just struck gold. For sure. 570-1053. Call us about this topic. Asking for permission.

Yeah, I think of the man purse the same way I think of this ring. That's dumb. What are you doing? It's like women like how... Carry a backpack you want to carry yourself. It was a huge fad to wear those leopard print high heels. Yeah. And then men started buying shoes with leopard print. You're talking about a pair of Vans I had that were leopard print. What? That is not high heels. But I'm just saying the leopard print was a female thing. You're going to get attacked for no reason. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Welcome back. Five people were killed when two private planes collided midair over Corona yesterday. What happens when you kick field goals and not score touchdowns? The Chargers lost to New England yesterday 21-12. It reminded me of a conversation that Rebecca and I had before the season started. I said, you know, and I don't know, this really doesn't have too much context in yesterday's game because I think that...
Despite everything, Phillip Rivers was great. He was like a warrior, you know, out there in two gimpy legs and everything. But I said to my wife before the season started, she goes, how do you think Phillip Rivers will do this year? And I said, ah. I go, you know, because he did real good the year before, last year. And I said, you know, I really think that Phillip Rivers' year will not be 07. I think it'll be 08. I think it'll be this coming up season. And I was wrong because he played great. He had a pretty good season this season. And I thought he'd have like a, nah, okay, because of the change with Norv Turner. I thought, oh, man, who knows what's going to happen with that. I would have had the exact, I did have the exact opposite opinion. They thought he'd do bad. Well, Norv Turner is known for, you know, being the quarterback whisperer. He goes in and he made Alex Smith somewhat decent, which is possible. Troy Aikman credits his whole professional career practically to him. I really thought he was going to make Phillip Rivers a great quarterback. I think that I was going on all that. I put a lot of stock into that Jerry Rice thing. Jerry Rice saying that if he was the offensive coordinator again, I would have absolutely said that.
It was the fact that he was going to be the head coach that I was all tripped out on. Because, you know, Jerry Rice saying that when he was a head coach in Oakland, nobody respected him. And just his record as a head coach, I thought, you know. But I said, I think that next season, that now, this coming up season, that will be in 08, will be his year. And he sure... Looks like he has all the potential in the world, that's for sure. Absolutely. It looks like he's going to be a great player. He talks about things to build on. Phillip Rivers, that is. Cut 64. Look back on and be proud of a lot this year, but you're never satisfied unless you win it all. But certainly, a lot of young guys and a lot to build on. Well, I think he's right. I think there is a lot to build on. Norv agrees, too. Let's cut 63. I'm going to go home with a great feeling about this football team. And not where this team has been, where this team is going. And we're an extremely young football team. We've got guys of great character. We've got guys that compete. And this team will continue to grow and get better. Okay. I know you're upset. It's okay.
This is the happiest I've ever been in my life. Clearly. I got a winning lottery ticket in my pocket. Oh, boy. P1 Trevor is calling to say he's got to ask for permission for everything he does. Right, Trevor? Yep, pretty much. Now, what about her? Does she have to ask you for permission? Well, it's not really. She kind of asks every once in a while. But my answer is always, yeah, go ahead. You know, you do what you want. If I want to go golfing with my friend, I just say, hey, honey, I plan to go golfing. Is that all right? And it's pretty much up to her. You know, I don't know about this if this applies to any other guys. In my house, my wife is sort of the accountant. She's kind of like the HR director. She's the accountant. She does the correspondence. Yeah. Yes, she does go to the mailbox. She is the business director. She's the CEO. Kind of, you know. Right. I'm the president of the company. Like I get final veto power on stuff. But you really don't do crap. I don't. She runs the business. She runs the business. So I think.
A lot of it has to do with that when I'm asking about, hey, is this cool? If she runs this show, what am I supposed to do? If I was running the show, it'd be opposite. She'd have to check with the runner of the show to see if it's going to work out, if this will fit into everything that's going on. I think most of the time I have to ask because she makes most of the plans anyways. I work all week, so whenever we do anything, it's on the weekends. fit in as much time with the kids as we can, you know, with me being off of work on the weekends. So that's pretty much why I have to ask her, because she might have something planned with the kids and her, you know, we're going to go and do something as a family. How about with you, Eddie? How's it work? In terms of, you know, who's running the business? Who runs the Papani business? Man, that's a weird... Because, I mean, you know, I do most of the accounting... part of it but i mean she just she makes as many decisions about the house as i do so i don't know i mean it's kind of equal yeah not with me she does it all she runs the show i couldn't i couldn't be like that though i'm too controlling really yeah i uh i don't understand numbers so i'm more than happy to let her do that she does the shopping she cooks
And what else does it take to run a house? I think that's it. So she does it. All the cleaning and chores. What about decisions? Do you want to do this with the house? That we talk about together. She'll get stuff that we don't talk about. But I always agree. She came home with these things that are going in our bathroom. And I didn't know about it. But I like it. It looks good to me. The only one that we did, but we discussed it before we did it. You guys know I hate that bedroom. I love it. It's so modern that brown and blue is like so in right now. It looks like a gay guy threw up all over the walls. It is not. It is so like in right now. He is a gay man. I don't think it's very fair. It's blue, you know. Yeah, blue. Dude, you know what it is. It's baby blue. It's blue, bro. The Chargers uniforms are powder baby blue. Great. Let's put Charger uniform colors in it. Let's do lightning bolts. Let's put bolts all over the place. Start stenciling bolts everywhere. Hey, let's follow your lead, Ashley. Right? It's Charger colors, so let's put lightning bolts everywhere. Well, why not? Leave your wife alone. She gets it. She totally gets it. She has amazing fashion. All I'm saying is that that room is a woman's room.
There's no guy gets to live in that room. That is not a Z-Gallery room. Come on. This went well. Honey, you know it went well. P1 Penguin's on the line. Hi, you guys. Hi. I was just kind of wondering how you can ask, okay, in your opinion as a guy, how would you like your woman to, like, ask you to ask for permission? Like, I don't make him ask. for permission to do anything but i kind of wish i could okay okay let's let's talk about this let's talk about this without being i'm not trying to be a beating i know no no no i like i like where you're coming from how old are you i'm 28 and are you married or is this your boyfriend it's my boyfriend all right and you wish he would run stuff by you yeah do you why do you wish that Sometimes, like your analogy earlier, sometimes I want to spend time with him, but I know he wants to be with his friends sometimes. That's fine, but share. Okay, I have another question. When you think about asking him to spend a little more time, do you get a little nervous doing that? Yeah, because his ex was a really control freak weirdo, and I don't want to be like that. You know, he was attracted to you.
Right. Why are you the way that you are? Hey, wait a minute. I'm not saying that, Michael from the office. Michael from the office. I hate so much about the things that you choose to be. Michael from the office? Hey, Michael. Penguin's opening up. She wants some advice. Excuse me? All I'm saying is... Please. All I'm saying is... We're usually attracted to people. You know, we're attracted to people. A type. This is usually attracted to a type. My guess is that if he's dated women that are controlling, do you know his mom? Yes. Wow. So that's all. Hey, ball breaker. That's all. I don't have to keep going on that. You understand. Can you help her? Sure, I can. I can help you. Don't be like yourself. I can't help you. Not cool. Every instinct you have to do the opposite. Penguin, I can help you. I can help you. What you need to do is, I think you do need to let him know what's on your mind. You want to spend a little time, let him know. It's probably going to drive him nuts, though. You know, Rebecca and I were talking about this last night. It was Saturday night. We were talking about men and women. And, boy, they are different. Boy, they are different, man. They are so different. Oh, yeah.
If you say to... What's your boyfriend's name, Penguin? Breachian. What is it? Breachian. Like the formula? Well said. Like you're going to wash that gray right out of your hair like Grecian? Did you say Grecian? Whatever helps you remember it. I don't know what it was. I thought she said Grecian. I think with a B. No, it's a B. Oh, Breachian. Oh, wow. It's like Zethian. Well, Breachian, if you say to him... Breachian, I want to, you know, I know you're going out with your buddies, but I really wish that we could spend more time just you and I. Chills are going to wrap his spine. I think. I think. I don't know him. I don't know Breachian. And if I knew him, I'd remember. His name is Breachian. Yeah. Appetizer. But I know a lot of guys that when you say that, what you just said, it's a little scary, a little intimidating. Oh, no. Like what? Like, what are we going to do? What are you talking about there? What do you say that when you say the time and the stuff? What is that? What are we doing? Are we? Is that it's cuddling involved in that? Oh, no. You just mean you want to hang out. I think you're OK to tell him. I think you're OK to tell him you wish you would hang out more. But I but I don't think he's going to like it. Well, what about easy?
It's not easy. I know, Hillary. What do you want out of me? I'm just trying to do a radio show. Well, what about her asking him to kind of run things by? Yeah, I'd like to know more than an hour if people are coming over, if he's going to be gone for the night. Why would you like to know in more time than an hour? I'm a planner. I like to keep the house nice and neat if people are coming over. I like there to be food, beer, whatever. Eddie. Bless me. She's a wonderful host. Bless you, Eddie. Bless you. Bless you, Eddie. Hey, Penguin. I say tell him. Tell him. I mean, that's fair. It's who you are. You say, hey, listen, it makes me really uncomfortable when I don't have more than an hour's notice because I like to plan. It just makes me, it's out of my comfort zone. Yeah, I'm not saying you can't do those things. I just kind of like to be in the loop. Give me the heads up. Yeah. See, all these things that you have an issue with, Penguin, you're either going to, listen, in a relationship, you either break up or you get married. Yeah. Unless your name is Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. But if you're not Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, you either break up or you get married. And so you've got to figure it out now before you get married to that dude. He'll hate you.
Wait. No, I'm telling you, Sky. And vice versa. She'll hate him. She'll hate him, too. She'll hate you. Figure it out way before you get married. Listen, here's my final words on this. Talk to him about it, and if he can't handle the conversation, he ain't the dude. Trust me. Plus, his name is Breachin. Well, his name's Breachin. Oh, Eddie. Thank you very much, Pamela. Bye, guys. I wish her the best of luck. Thank you. I like the name Breachin. It's different. Yeah. It sounds like something that's a new character on Young and the Restless. Star Wars Cantina. It's true, too. You guys see that thing over the weekend? The Britney thing was on again. The fall from grace on E. No? Nobody? That thing's good, man. It's real good. Yeah, I recorded it. There you go. Quick time out. When we come back, P1 Trivia. 105.3. It's the Rock 105.3.

Appreciate you coming back and listening. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's what I was saying. Yeah, home of the champions. This is pretty funny. New rules for 2008. It's just a couple of them, but these are pretty good. I have to say I agree with most of these. New rule for 08. If you need to shave and you still collect baseball cards, you're a dope. Wow. If you're a kid, the cards are keepsakes of your idols. If you're a grown man, they're pictures of men. Aren't they investments? Baseball cards aren't worth anything anymore. Really? The next rule is funny, but I don't agree with it. Okay. Ladies, leave your eyebrows alone. Here's how much men care about your eyebrows. Do you have two of them? Good. We're done. I disagree with that one. Thank you.
The only reason that this joke can be made is because we don't know what they look like without doing stuff to their eyebrows, and it's disgusting. If women do not tweeze their eyebrows, they look like the guy that reviews movies on the Today Show. That's not true. They look like Muppets. I just started tweeting my eyebrows a couple years ago. They look like Jerry Tarkanian. Depends on the girl. What did you just say? I just started doing mine a couple years ago. Let me tell you. I don't remember what your eyebrows look like, Skye, but your eyebrows look great. Thank you. You got great eyebrows. They're definitely more shaped now. Yeah, chicks' eyebrows can look like guys' eyebrows, big and bushy. Some. Yeah. So women got to do stuff to them. They don't have to. Yeah, they don't have to. They don't have to. No, they do. Yeah, do you have experience? I have no personal experience. Well, then how do you know? No. Because I know plenty of chicks who don't, and they're good. It's not like they've got a crazy-ass unibrow. You've never seen a chick with hairy eyebrows? No, I have, but I'm saying that the general statement is not accurate. It doesn't apply for anyone. And I was asking you, do you know people? Can you relate? You said no. Oh, I know people for sure, but I have not tweezed my own eyebrows. You're so stupid. Oh, my God.
Where did that come from? Wow. Ash. Oh, you're fat. Wow. Geez. You show me. You show me a 20-year-old woman. Yeah. Show me a 20-year-old woman that does not tweeze her eyebrows. And if I'm being honest with you, I bet you all go, yeah, she'd brush shit. Hey, listen, if she wants to look a little more feminine, she probably should. Those eyebrows look like my brother's. I can give you a 25-year-old who barely ever does, if she even does, and you can't even tell because she's got blonde hair. She's not a very hairy person by nature. So she doesn't really need to. Now, you're giving me an example of people with invisible eyebrows. No, no. But you made the general statement. Go to the Jersey Shore, Mike. The example that you're giving me, though. I'm just telling Sean. You're going to make it. opinion, you better stand by it. I can back up mine, can you back up yours? I hope this is breaking down. Exactly. Anyway. What's up with the ladies on the show? They're depressing. It's the most depressing day I've ever seen. Chargers lost. Can I have some Prozac? Yeah, please. You're so stupid. Right. You're so stupid. They must be about to start or something.
I think that was a few days ago. I mean, accurate, but bright. Hello. I'm not the cashier. By the time I look up from sliding my card, entering my PIN number, pressing enter, verifying the amount, deciding, no, I don't want cash back, pressing enter again, the kid who's supposed to be ringing me up standing there eating my Almond Joy. It's true. That's true. When did we become the cashiers? Can you slide your card? Can you do this? Do you want cash back? Can you do it? Good point. I'm sick of it. New rule. Competitive eating isn't a sport. It's one of the seven deadly sins. ESPN recently polarized the U.S. Open of competitive eating. I guess because watching those athletes at the poker table was just too exciting. Wow. New rule. I don't need a bigger mega M&M's. If I'm extra hungry for M&M's, I'll go nuts. I'll eat two. This one's great. And I'm guilty of it. When I ask how old your kid is, I don't need to hear 27 months. He's two. That's fine. He's two.
He's not a cheese. And to be honest, I didn't really care in the first place. So that's a few new rules. I don't know why. I guess we're so freaking proud. He's 16 months and four days. No, thanks. I now feel complete. You know what we should do before the show gets too far into it? Let's do it. Do you know who's most overweight? Evidently me. Apparently that line didn't stick. P1 trivia is where we get a guy and a girl who are P1s. A P1, by the way, is a person that turns the radio down, gets the point, and doesn't cuss when they call in. That's a P1 listener. Priority one. It's our favorite listeners that we have. And P1 Trivia is where they get on the phone with us here on Monday morning. They compete in Mikey Show Trivia. And the winner gets to come in and hang out in the studio on Friday the whole show long. The whole show long. 570-1053. You get a backstage pass, by the way, when you come in. It's pretty cool. First on the line is P1 Disney Dad. Hi, Disney Dad. How are you? Well, hi. How are you, man? I'm ready to play. Very nice.
And your competition today is P1 Cuddles. No problem. Cuddles, how are you? Hi, Mikey. How are you doing? Good. I like the name. You got brass balls. All right. P1 Disney Dad. Yeah. How old are you? 24. All right. Cuddles, how old are you? 35. All right. And both of you guys able to come into the studio on Friday? Yeah, no problem. Okay, cool. Disney Dad, how long have you been listening? Almost three years. How about you, Cuddles? Two years. All right, cool. We should have a competition here then. You guys should get some of these right. Skye, who started first last time? The girls. All right. Disney Dad, you're up. One, two, or three-point question. First person to five points wins. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. Let's just go for a two-pointer. Got it. What hairstyle was B-Rob a failure at trying to grow? Drill Lock. That is correct. Massive failure. No. Massive. Huge success. Opposite. Opposite of a huge success. Not really. Didn't work out. Look at the pitches. Didn't work out. We did. We've seen the pitchers. Pitches. And the pitches, they tell the story. P1 Cuddles. Yes. You are behind. All he needs is three points to take this sucker. So what do you want? A one, two, or three-pointer? Two. Okay. Your two-point question is?
What is the name of the bit where P1s call and tell stories about not hanging up their cell phones? Oh, no. Oh, my gosh. Take a guess. I don't know. Cell phone mishaps. It's cell phone mishaps. Cell phone mishaps. I know it. All right, Disney Dad, all you need is a three to wrap her up. No. Let's go for a three. Just like that. Just like that. Put her away. P1 Disney Dad, name the TV show Eddie was an extra on. I don't know it. TV show Eddie was an extra on. Oh, I know he was on the news, but I don't think that's really a TV show, so I'll just go with the news. That is incorrect.
Eddie was an extra on an episode of Renegade. First of all, that question is flawed. Please, Eddie. I wasn't an extra, as you put it. I was a co-star. No, that's not true. With my good friend, Lorenzo Lama. Eddie, that is not true. That is not true. Thank you. Great episode. Auntie Harmon was in that episode. Oh, she's my favorite. Pew and Cuddles. Yes. One, two, or three-point question. I'll try two again. You got it. Who is Beto? Oh, come on. Your cousin. Oh, very good. No, no, your nephew. That is correct. That's correct. I'll give it to you. Saved by the bell. All right. Eddie, what's the score? Two to two. Two to two. We're all even. P1 Disney dad. Let's just do a two-pointer. All right. Two-point question is, what is the name of the website run by P1s about the Mikey show? Oh, P1site.com. You got it. Oh.
P1 Cuddles, he needs only one more point to win. What do you want? You can take it with a three-pointer. You can win with a three-pointer. All right, I'll try three. Oh, no. This question's answer was in today's show. Oh, no. If you don't get this question, I don't want to know you. Oh, no. What is the name of the reporter from TMZ that does a call-in to our show on Mondays? Oh. I didn't listen until later. She was on today. Well, she's on every Monday. I can't think of the name. Oh, no. Sorry. No. But the answer is Katie Daryl. It's Katie Daryl. Sorry, cuddles. Disney Dad, are you going to wrap it up here with your one-pointer? No. Let's do it. All right. Your one-point question is, what is the name of the 2007 Best of the Mikey Show CD? Hurry up. That's correct.
Cuddles. Very nice. Sorry. Cuddles, I'm really sorry. It's okay. I'll try again next time. Okay. I would have let her come in, but she missed a couple O's and just didn't seem fair. Do you want Disney Dad? Awesome. You're coming in on Friday. Hang in the line, all right? Awesome. Very well done. We got a whole new list of questions, and some of them are pretty good. Ashley's going to be on American Idol tomorrow. Wow. I know it. Getting texts and calls and emails from people. Is that Ashley? Is that Ashley? Yeah, but they're going to call her Sarah when you see it. I'm getting the craziest emails from people. Really? Like what? Coming out of the woodworks. Really? People I haven't talked to in years. Serio. Years. No, it's Serio. Yeah, I heard from Serio. Of course you did. Of course I did. When do I not nowadays? Yeah, I know. Beat that guy off with a stick. Yeah. I said no.
No, still means no. Yeah. Stop it. Really, all of them. I mean, they are one. They don't want a piece of this star. Yeah. I'm going to check it out. How could they not? Yeah, they're like, hey, aren't you that chick from Fox? Yeah, my guy Hollywood producers on my line right now. Matter of fact, can you hold on a second? Yeah. My agent's on the line. Okay. Yeah, we'll do lunch. All right. All right. Bye. Have your people come at people. I don't. I'll meet you at Spago. Yeah. What? We still on to hide. Tell Randy I said good looking out. I don't talk. Thanks for the love, dog. What? All right. Hey, Brad. Take you on the flip side. You and Angie still on for this weekend? Holla at you later. Okay. Oh, hello, Fiddy. Yeah, that was me. Again. Oh, that's funny. She's going to be on TV tomorrow. It should be good stuff. Happy Martin Luther King Day, Skye. Well, thank you. Well, you know, it's a big holiday for all of us, but especially to Skye. Especially. Yeah. I'm a big supporter of civil rights. Yep. And loves black guys.
Too much. So here was Hillary Clinton on the Tyra Banks show talking about when she got emotional and started crying, remember? Cut 27. When you went home, what did you think about that? Did you feel weak? No. You know, because what happened was so touching to me. This woman said, well, how do you get up in the morning? You know, it just struck me, how do any of us get up in the morning? I mean, how do we keep it together? How do we do what we have to do? And there was such a moment where it wasn't... sort of me on one side of the table running for office and everybody else out there, it was us together. It's not easy. It really did. I know. Because that's when I think we're at our best as a country, when we really are honest. And anybody on your team say, oh, my God, what is she doing? What is she doing? Oh, my God, get off the stage right now. Well, you know how that happens. Yeah. Sure. Totally.
Hey, Hillary, what about that dude that yelled out, iron my shirt at one of the rallies? What about that guy? Cut 28. What about the, oh no you didn't moments? Meaning, there was a recent rally and a man... Sure, that's what Hillary said. Iron my shirt right to you. Right, he did. And to me, I find it crazy that we're so behind in our country when it comes to women leaders. If you think about the UK, there was Margaret Thatcher. In Pakistan, there was Venezuela Bruto. In Israel, there was gold in my hair. What's up with America? Why are we so behind? Well, we're going to hopefully get over that. Are you kidding? I mean, come on. That was so stupid. I mean, that strong of a reaction? We all agree, but come on. What? It's flipping out. It's not that cool. Okay. Great, we agree. So, who trusts... Osama Bin Laden's son when he says, oh, peace, I want, you know, I hate my dad. This is Bin Laden's son asking his father to find another way. Cut 55. I like to say to my father, try to find another way to help or to find your goal. And this is a bomb.
What? This is a bomb. This is a bomb. Don't say that. It's a bomb, yo. What is that, from his MySpace? No, an intermediate. Give me two of the pentagons. Roman Roman's in my top five, too, so not that cool. And I have Dane Cook, too. Who doesn't at this point, okay? So there's an Islamic version of Zaf out there. Good call. Oh, yeah. He says he hasn't talked to his dad since 2000 when he walked away from an al-Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan. He said he had his father's blessing when he left. He does say that he does not consider his father to be a terrorist. He says before they call it...
called it war. Now they call it terrorism. I like the Knicks. He likes the Spurs. I'm into techno. He hates it. He says he doesn't think 9-11 was right, but it happened. He also doesn't think the war in Vietnam was right. What's going on in Palestine is right. What's going on in Iraq is right. So he said if we make a list of what's right and not right, it's going to be a very big list. Look at that guy. Check it twice. Hey, Sean, tell the story of the guy coming to your door selling meat. So it was like, it was Friday night. It was, I think it was like 8.30, 9 o'clock at night. And all of a sudden the doorbell rings. We're not expecting anyone. So we go over to the door and then the guy starts knocking. So we look out. I see this dude standing out there. He's got a Red Bull can in his hand. And I think he must have seen like the light. through the people, you know, so he knew I was there. And so he raises up his Red Bull can and he goes, he goes, hello in there. Come on. He goes, hello in there. He goes, hello, come out. And we're like, come out. Yeah. And I'm going, what in the world? And so I look at my wife and I go, there's some guy out there with the Red Bull. And so she looks out there and he's supposed to see like the light again. And so he knocks again.
And he goes, hello, hello in there. Is he, like, Arab? No, he was like a black dude, but he had a weird, like, accent. Like, I think he was African, maybe? Yeah. So eventually he goes away. So then my wife is just, you know, she's bursting with curiosity. I'm bursting with curiosity. So we go out, and we see that they're going door to door. So we get in our car, and we start driving around the neighborhood. So we drive by them and see what's going on. And as it turns out, they were like from emeatstore.com or something like that. And they're selling meat. And when we were driving by them, they had stopped some guy who was walking his dog. And they're opening this crate. And I'm assuming there's like meat inside of it. And they're showing him this meat, trying to sell meat. Dude, can you imagine buying meat from some dude's car? Stranger. Oh, that's creepy. Did you say nine o'clock at night? Yeah, it was like nine o'clock at night. That ain't cool, man. On a Friday night. I would call that company and complain. Yeah. Yeah, we did. Oh, good. Of course they did. You guys are so funny. We had this black guy and this black girl come to the door and he's making racial jokes about himself like that was his deal. He was like selling magazines and he was like...
He was making these jokes that were about him being black. It made me kind of uncomfortable. That's the worst, man. Because they got a response for everything you say. I don't want to buy magazines. I just don't want to buy magazines, you know? Let's see. Let me not get to. Jessica Alba is claiming that on the set of Good Luck Chuck, there was porn stuff going on on the set. Now, the only thing is, is that everybody else that's involved in the movie goes, we don't know what you're talking about.
Yeah, she did an interview with Elle magazine where she talks about how as soon as they were done filming, she fled the scene every night because of the hijinks of her co-star. She said it was like a porn set. She said there were all these actresses there and they got conned by the male stars of the movie to get naked. And then when Dane Cook was doing an interview and they're like, yeah, did you hear what Jessica Alba said? And he said, yeah, first of all, all the actors and actresses there, they all read the script. So they know what was going on. I have no clue what she's talking about. Kirstie Alley is paranoid about Valerie Bertinelli with those Jenny Craig commercials. I'm stealing her thunder. She should be because it looks to me like they're phasing her out. So she should be. I mean, it looks like it's the end. They're probably going to. I'm seeing those. Every time I see one, it's a Valerie Bertinelli commercial. Rarely. At the zoo, do elephants throw you peanuts? I don't know that that's really necessary. I think the deal here is, you know, she's lost some weight. So credit work, you know, you know the rest. All right. When you go jogging, you leave potholes. Thank you. I get what you're saying. In the spirit of her great loss. Okay. Bye.
The Razzie nominations came out. These are people that dress junky, look terrible, right? Worst dressers? No. Oh, bad movies. Yeah. Bad movies. It's like the opposite of the Oscars. The anti-Oscars. Right. So the big nominees this year were Lindsay Lohan and Eddie Murphy. Lindsay Lohan's I Know Who Killed Me is up for nine awards. That was a movie? Yeah. Never heard of it. I think she'll get an Academy Award for this picture. Open like the day she went into rehab or got arrested or something like that. I feel like it's the first time I'm hearing the name. Yeah. Whatever you said. I know who killed me. I know who killed me. Yeah. So that's up for nine awards, including Worst Picture. And then Eddie Murphy, he just himself is nominated five times for all those stupid different characters he played in Norbit. So Worst Actor, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Couple. It's garbage. I hope it sweeps. Yeah.
What if he swept? That would be so awesome. Yeah, so all the worst movies, including those two, are also Bratz. I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry and Daddy Day. Oh, wow. Yeah, there we go. On Saturday, they held primaries and caucuses in South Carolina and Nevada. In Nevada, Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney won. And in South Carolina, Saturday was the Democrats and then this coming up Saturday. Or, excuse me. Saturday was Republicans, and this coming up Saturday would be Democrats. But Saturday, McCain won in South Carolina. Cut 40. Thank you, South Carolina, for bringing us across the finish line. First in the first in the South primary. You know, it took us a while, but what's eight years among friends? Eight years, hey? Yay, ladies. Yay, ladies. Yay, ladies. 570105. There is our phone number. Why didn't he turn into Jerry Lewis? I don't know. Hopefully we've cheered you up here a little bit on the most depressing day of the year. That's what they're saying. They're saying that today is the most, they've done research. They say today is the most depressing day of the year. I have to know. Ashley, what did you fight with your neighbor about?
Oh my gosh. That wasn't a fight so much as it was me ripping his head off verbally. What happened? Did Zeth move in next door? Oh no. Did Zeth forget to run something? He hit me bad. Did your neighbor not hit F9? It was not good. He came to my door and I don't normally answer my door because I don't like to be bothered. I just want to be left alone when I get home. That's why I live with my dog and just me hanging out all the time. I like to be alone. I like my space. So I just got home. And I do this thing when I get home from work where I can't talk to anyone for maybe an hour or two. We talk for a living type of thing. So I need a couple hours to cool down after my job. So I get home. I sit down. Put on my programs. Got my puppy in my lap. I got my lemonade or whatever. I'm like, ha. And there's a knock at the door. And just because I got this puppy, like lately, like sometimes it'll be my neighbor about the puppy. So I was like, I should probably get it. So I opened the door and there's my neighbor from upstairs. You have to understand, I've lived in this complex for almost a year. I've seen this guy two times. One time was almost a year ago when I got out of my car and he lives right above me. And I heard him like muffle a yell. Hey, did you just hit my car at the door? And I look up and I go, no.
Like I look down at the door and I go, no. And he goes, oh, I thought I heard something. And I went, well, I didn't hear anything, you know. And so we had a very bad start. Uncomfortable, right. Didn't see him for six months. One week ago. One week ago. I run into him because we got out of our cars at the same time. We parked next to each other. And I go, hey, what's going on? And I decide, okay, this is where you're going to be the adult, be the bigger person and make amends. Bygones be bygones. Right. So I introduce myself. What's up? Oh, you live above me. Cool. Nice to meet you. Great. Get a knock at the door on Friday. Open it. It's him. Kid you not, this is exactly pretty much what he says. I'm paraphrasing, but this is his exact vibe to me. He's like, oh, hey, I live above you, and I just wanted to let you know that you're waking me up when you wake up at 4 in the morning pretty much every single day because you're so loud, and I just wanted to kind of give you the heads up you have neighbors. Maybe you didn't know that. You could keep that in mind for future times when you get ready. So what did you say? So I go, oh, I go, loud noises. I go, you want to give me an example of a loud noise I make so early in the morning that wakes you? You give me an example? And he goes, yeah, you slam doors. And I go, oh, I go, that's so weird. I don't know why I would ever slam a door, and especially every single morning that would wake you up, but I guess I will stop slamming doors. Any other examples you can think of?
That's the only one I can think of right now. Okay, so you're coming down and telling me that I'm waking you up every single morning and have been for how long? Who knows how long? You haven't come and talked to me about it, so I don't know. But now you're coming to me and saying that I wake you up because I shut a door? Like, how am I supposed to quiet that down? He didn't say shut a door. He said slam it down. Yeah, but I said I'm pretty sure that I actually, like, close it very quietly. So I don't know how I'm going to make that any quieter. Is there anything else you can think of? No, I don't know. I don't know. You seem to be like you're getting a little defensive, and I don't think you should be getting defensive. And I was like, sir, like, I totally understand where you're coming at. I just wish you had some examples because slamming doors doesn't make sense, like, considering whatever. I wish so badly I could observe this conversation. The more that he, like, you know, kind of choked up, the more I just kept going. So there's about five minutes where I was reaming him. I mean, my neighbor could hear me down the hall. Down the hall. So then I, like, pretty much finally get to the point where I go, well, anyways, I am really upset right now, so if you want to keep talking about this, you can come back at another time. Have a good day, sir. Like, I need to go inside. And I just go in and shut the door. You slam in. Slam the door. No, I did not slam the door. And so then, later on... Now, is it possible, Ash, that you shut the doors kind of loud?
Maybe. Maybe. Sure. But I don't want to hear about it, though. It's all about the approach. Oh, no. It's all about the approach. He was a jerk about it. I get it. No, no. Listen. She's right. If somebody's a jerk... All about the approach. You're not really very... Now you're not listening. Now you're just going... You're yelling at my face. Because he was implying... Well, this went well. He was implying that I wasn't aware that I get up early and that I wasn't aware that I had neighbors. And he was implying that I was doing it carelessly. And that pissed me off because I'm not a jerk and he should... not be coming at me like that yeah if somebody's coming at you like a jerk you're very less likely to be like oh i'm really sorry it's just a hot there's somebody comes to you and they say hey uh man i don't want to bug you or anything but when you get up at four o'clock in the morning i hear the doors and it wakes me up if you could watch that hey no problem i mean With pleasure. But even later on that night, I'm on the phone outside smoking a cigarette, and he comes up to me, and I'm in the middle of a phone conversation. He goes, Hey, I just wanted you to know I didn't mean to offend you. Hey, excuse me. I'm like, I'm on the phone, bro. Yeah, we'll talk about it later. And can I bum a cigarette? I don't like him. Sounds like a great name. I don't like him, Eddie. P1 Bass Assassin? I don't like him at all. What's up, dude?
Hey, I heard Eddie talking about some Padres players being out in Temecula today. Do you know whereabouts and what time? Apparently they're going to be all around Temecula. Really? Yeah, I really don't know. Go to Padres.com and you can probably find out the details. All right, thanks, guys. Cool. 570-1053 is the phone number beginning and end of every show. Open phones. You can call about anything you want. It's your little heart's delight. That's right. You can call about anything. So 570-1053, you can ask questions, you can have a comment, you can talk about something on TV, you can do whatever. Is there anything good on Monday nights? American Gladiators, man. American Gladiators tonight? Terminator. Terminator. So good. That Gladiators I'll watch. Oh, and that History Channel thing's on tonight. Yeah, Sky and Eddie were talking about a History Channel thing tonight about what the world would be like with no man, without man. It's called Life After People. Tigers walking around. Cool. Banging on Ashley's door. Some woolly mammoth wanting to talk to Ashley. Mikey's show. Mikey's show. I just wanted to ask if it was possible to download some of the tracks or the recordings that you guys play throughout the show. Yeah. Download them on the phone at the ringtone or something like that. Oh, a ringtone. We're working on something. We're working on something. Oh, yeah? Yep.
All right, cool. Been working on that. I don't know why it's taken. I'm going to ask about that today because we've been working on that. Thanks, man. I appreciate the call. P1 Tony. Yes. What's up? Hey, I'm just calling up. Just on my way back from a drop interview down in San Diego today. I'm on my way back to Semecula. And just calling to let you guys know I fought Cloverfield this weekend. Man, it was outstanding. I liked it, too. Yeah. Yeah, it was really good. The shaky camera thing. I was with you on that, Mikey, as far as... Just kind of nauseating at first. But you kind of get used to it after a while. I think it stops being so shaky towards the middle of the film, I guess. But at the beginning, when they're trying to teach that guy how to use the camera, that was kind of irritating. But great movie. Just wanted to call in and let you guys know that. Cool. And it's only like an hour and 10 minutes, hour and 15 minutes long. It's not very long. So it doesn't fatigue you in terms of like, oh, come on. I always have to look at my watch during movies. It's usually an indication I'm not having the greatest time. Mikey Show. Hi, Mikey. This is Tom. Encinitas, Tom? Hi, Tom. Hey, I'm just curious. Yesterday I unfortunately had to work and could not watch the Chargers game, and I watched the news last night when I got home, and there was no mention of LT or him speaking or anything, and I was curious what happened to LT yesterday. That's a good question. Eddie, do we know what's up?
Well, he carried the ball twice and wasn't able to go after that. So obviously he re-aggravated his knee injury, and that was it. Do you think it was a Norf Turner thing, or do you think it was? There was no way. LT would have freaked out if he was fine, and the coach decided to not let him play. That's true. You would have seen him seething. There was no possible way that that was a thing. Okay. I just thought it was odd on TV last night. They interviewed just about everybody but him. He might not want to talk. I mean, the one thing about LT is if things aren't really going his way, he's not afraid to let you know. Sure. And so if he was upset about it, he probably just didn't want to say anything. Yeah. Well, one more thing, Mikey. Mm-hmm. Okay, I'm 57 years old, and I've been listening to you on the radio since I moved to Poway from Seattle in 1994, maybe. Mm-hmm. You were on 102.5? 102.1. And you were on in the evening. Rock 102. The night you brought the hookers into the room. Uh-oh.
I know. Hookers or strippers? Two different things. I remember that. I mean, I've been listening to you that long. Then you disappeared for a while. I didn't know where you went. We didn't. Excuse me. And then you're back. Encinitas Bob. Clarify Tom. Encinitas Tom. Tom. Encinitas Tom. Tom. We didn't bring. hookers in the studio. We brought strippers in the studio. Strippers. That was one or the other, but it was in like 94, 95. That's a big difference. I think there's quite a difference. One of them you pay for intercourse. That's illegal. You were hilarious. I love your show, you guys. I listen every day. Thank you very much. All right. Take care, gang. Very kind thing. Different time. Different time. Thank you. P1 Daniel. P1 Daniel. Hey, guys. How's it going? Good. Hey, I just want to let you guys know that I'm about 10 weeks pregnant, and I'm suffering, like, the worst morning sickness. And I don't get any reception for my radio in my apartment. And I've been suffering not listening to you guys, but I finally, like, mustered some energy to get to work today. And thank you, because I've missed you, and it just put a smile on my face. That's cool, Danielle. I appreciate that. My boyfriend's in a pain in his behind.
It's just been hell, but I want to thank you guys because you guys are awesome. That's very nice, Danielle. We appreciate it. We want Danielle. And our program director, Shawna, had a baby this morning. Congratulations. That guy was a linebacker, man. That baby weighed 10 pounds. Well, baby Jameson. Lovely and talented Missy's up next. She's got a little double shots today on the Nooner. So make sure you're listening. And we'll see you tomorrow morning at 530. The Mikey Show's out. Thank you.
