Welcome to the show. It's 6.04. This is amazing. Britney Spears showed up on time for her deposition yesterday and stayed for the full two hours. Apparently, Phillip Rivers had surgery on his knee the week prior to the game. No. And does have a torn ACL, which will require off-season surgery. Dude, he played on a surgically repaired leg with a torn ACL. I don't know how he did it. Dude. I don't know how he did it. Listen, all I can say is from my standpoint, this is my opinion, if I was Alex Spanos, I'd be mad. I'd be upset if I was Alex Spanos. And the reason is because what if you jack my kid up? What if you jack my billion dollar investment up? More. Yeah. Putting him out there on surgery. If he already has a torn knee ligament.
I don't know how much more damage he could do to it. If it's repaired surgery? Well, it's like torn cartilage that they kind of just go in and clean up, which is kind of normal. They kind of do that. It wasn't like ligament surgery or anything like that, which you can't. Yeah, dude. Gnarly. That's gnarly. With all the talk and reputation that Rivers was getting a couple weeks prior, he was being compared to Ryan Leaf. See, I never, I thought that was... It was outrageous and bogus. The reason I thought it was outrageous was, you know, you got to remember, Ryan Leaf, he used to scream and curse at people. And one of the things that Philip Rivers has said, and I saw him say in the pregame on the CBS broadcast was, I don't use foul language, and I'm having a good time when I'm doing that. I'm jawing. I've always jawed. And so, I don't know. It doesn't... I totally see how it hits people the wrong way. For me, it doesn't because of what he said. You know, Ryan Leaf, he was cussing. He was mad. He was being a jerk. And Ryan Leaf is more of like a competitive, you're going to give me some guff. I'm going to give you some guff. But I'm going to do it clean. I'm not going to use foul language. That stuff just kind of, you know, slides off my back. But whatever. I mean, if people...
Don't like it. I understand it, you know. I really understand it. I got a light start today, guys. Oh, no. Yeah, I did. You know what? And I can't figure out, well, how far do I push back the getting up? I'm getting up at 2.15. What? Whoa. What are you talking about? I get up at 2.15. That's earlier than me. I spend time doing stuff. Holy cow. What are you doing in the morning? Wow. Dude, you know. Takes me a very long time to prepare. Oh, my word. Takes me a very long time. Crazy. My morning schedule. 2.15? Yeah. What do you do? Well, I was asking myself that the other day. Like, there's some solid stuff I do, but, like, what do I do? What am I doing? I get up, and, you know, I'll go into the bathroom, sit down and answer some emails on my iPhone. I like to be sitting when I do that. But you have to be sitting in the bathroom? Yeah. I think we can leave it at that. Don't. Killing two birds with one iPhone. Okay. Killing more than birds. That's true, Eddie. We're being completely honest. All right. Foochie. I'm good. And I wonder who the first person to say Foochie was, by the way. But, yeah, so that.
And then I get in the shower. And I'm not in the shower very long, actually. I'd say probably 10 minutes. You know, get out of there. Moisturize if I remember. Like, I didn't remember to moisturize today. You're so flaky. I know it. I feel like, you know, my face is a barren desert. And so I finish with that. And then go into the office. and uh i spend a good half an hour to 40 minutes in prayer slash readings a good 40 minutes and listen i've even cut out that thing writing to jake in the uh in the little journal like i want to write to my son in this journal i'm keeping form but i forget i well not forget i remember i don't have time so because i finish with that i go i don't have time for that right now i
have to do stuff so I finish with that then I start work because what I'll do is like if Eddie says that there's something that I need to do homework wise because Eddie will send me homework during the day if I have to do homework I leave it for then because I have to go to bed at 6.30 7 o'clock because I'm getting up at 2.15 oh my gosh yeah you know I get up at 7 o'clock you know yeah because I gotta get up early I have to I can't get up later I don't have enough hours. I've been petitioning Arnold Schwarzenegger to extend days now so that they're longer, but I don't have enough hours. Let's see what I can do. Last night, I had a few moments to myself, and I listened to the brand new, just got in the mail, Apocalypse Now redo soundtrack. Whoa. Okay. Soundtrack? The soundtrack to the film. Wow. Nice. And boy, that was an experience.
And I did my blog because I knew that when I woke up this morning, I wasn't going to be able to do a blog. No way in the world. Of course not. There's not time enough. No time. Are you going to wake up at 1? No, I can't. I can't do that. Just don't bother going to bed. Yeah. Or go to bed at like 2 p.m. Oh, man. Yeah. Seriously. Go to bed when you get home. That's nuts. And then Rebecca left the TV on again. Oh, man. Oh, no. You guys, she's probably listening right now, so forgive me because I didn't get a chance to talk to her before I left, so I'm going to talk to my wife right now on the radio. Babe, you've got to do something about that, honey. You've got to do the TV. Remember, we talked about the thing. It feels like home because a lot of times I do the talking and she'll just listen to me. She's sick of talking back. But, honey, we've got to figure out a way. Maybe we'll have Dan come and put the timer thing on there. But it's staying on, and it's making my eyes crazy. I can't sleep with light, you guys. Well, doesn't it wake you up? Oh, it does. And why don't you turn it off? Oh, because that really wakes me up. Like, if you get up, and you have to go find the remote, she's got the remote on her side of the bed. See, because my husband falls asleep with the remote in his hand, and I'll just, you know, turn it off. But sometimes he tries to fight me, like, because he's asleep, and he thinks, like, I'm a burglar or something.
So now what I do is I just leave the remote in his hand and I just sneak in there and just push the off button. He doesn't wake up when you do it? No. That's awesome. Maybe two remotes. Oh, that's it. I like it. That's a decent idea. I like that. And if I can get her to remember to turn the TV off, she won't turn. She'll never remember. And I've never one time been successful in getting her to turn off. the satellite receiver, which casts this blue light throughout the room. And it's so, it's like a spotlight in my eyes. Oh, it's a spotlight in my eyes. I'm sure it's lighting the room with lights. You could read campfire light by it. It's like looking at the sun. You're right. But when you turn the off button, it doesn't turn both off? On what? No, no, no. It doesn't turn the TV off. Really? No, because, you know, Tony from Wireworks, they... Oh, Tony. They did stuff. You know, they connected it. So what you do is when you turn off the, when you press off on the button, it turns off the TV, the receiver. That's it. It doesn't turn off the TV, the receiver, and the satellite receiver. That's what I wanted. Maybe you can. Yeah, because mine does. Maybe something happened. Mine does. We probably put in a new, I think this is what happened. We got an updated receiver, and they probably just didn't.
They should be able to program it, no problem. Yeah, because I'm telling you, man, she always forgets. Well, this went well. That's all right, honey. I'm not mad. I'm just saying it's hard to make that room pitch black. Okay, let's go around the room and introduce everybody. And then let's get into the show. You can call us at 570-1053. They just made... The Oscar nominations. So, yeah, we'll get caught up on all the Oscar nominations here in just a second. Find out who got nominated for what. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 37 years of age. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 34. And him and his wife last night spent about 30 minutes discussing what their American Gladiator names would be. Yep. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. Was it a process where you said this? No, I want that. I considered one, but...
I ended up going with another one. It all started because I made her mad. Out of the blue said, I think your American Gladiator name should be Toothpick. She got mad at me. I don't know why. She's so accurate. I thought it was great. She had to come up with a name. She's really upset about it. What is it? Her name, we decided, would be Raven. I like it. Mine, Why Raven? You know, because you got the red hair. For some reason, with the red hair, Raven sounded cool. Yeah, yeah. I like it. With me, I considered Brick for a little while. I like it. But passed. Yes. And decided to go with Reaper. Nice. That's good. Yeah. The Reaper brings death. You're not going to get through the Reaper. Yeah.
Come on, try it, Skye. The Reaper will chase you down the wall. Well, I kind of like Brick better, if I'm being honest. Skye, what would yours be? I don't care. Ow! You've got to give yourself something. Once you start thinking about it, you'll care. The napper? The first night I was watching it. Spaghetti? That first night I was watching it, remember I said I just saw it for the first time? And they were introducing all those people, and they were saying their names, and I thought, what if one's name was Fart? And I thought, honestly, you know why I thought that? Remember how Howard Stern used to have that Channel 9 show where he did a TV show? And I thought, Eddie, if me and you ever... Turd. Yeah, we would have turd. We would have fart. That's so funny to a man. That's genius. All men kind of giggle at that. Sky is our news girl. And she is 30 years of age. She has golden spaghetti. And a band-aid.
On your index finger? Yep. Got my finger yesterday. Well, first of all, golden spaghetti is what she calls her hair. Yeah. And what happened to the finger? Well, I was doing some little artsy-fartsy projects, you know. Took a bunch of nature shots and around my... Nature shots? What does that mean? What are you talking about? Like a close-up of a flower and a picture of an avocado tree. That's awesome. Ansel Adams. Why? And then got them developed in black and white. You are so funny. What kind of camera? What are we talking about? Like a snapshot camera? No, like a digital camera. Like a 35 millimeter? Like a regular digital camera? I don't know. Well, you know what I'm saying. Like, was it one of the... Okay. Is it one of those square snapshot, you know, just taking snapshots? So what are those? Yeah. Wow. And so what did you take pictures of? Oh, I took a bunch of pictures of like the hills in Escondido and...
Do you have, like, practice in photography? Oh, no. I saw it on HGTV as, like, an inexpensive way to put art in your house. Because you'll never buy. Well, duh. I mean, what's the point, you know? Rebecca did that in Jake's room. She made me go outside and take pictures of, like, real close-up. Right. She wanted black and white, real super close-up pictures of, like, flowers. But you are into photography. Love it. Yes, I love it. You know what you're doing. I love it. I'm into saving money. And you have nice cameras and stuff. You know, she's over here with her, like, disposable Kodak. Oh, that's funny. Yeah, so I was trying to arrange them in a frame, and then the glass of the frame, my finger got stuck under there, and I'm like, oh, I'll just pull my finger out without lifting the glass back up and slice. Holy cow. Yeah, that hurt a little bit. We got a blader! Okay, put a little Neo on there. I'm good. Oh! Wow. Looking good. Sean's camera's out. Yeah, I'm rebooting. Reboot. Reboot. Reboot. Let's see. Sean is our sound effects guy. 37 years of age. Tall man. Lives in the Bay Area. We connect via satellite every day. See his shining face on a little camera that just went out. I watched one of Sean's TV shows for the first time. Oh, which one? Sean TV? Yeah. Which one? Kenny versus Spenny. Oh, dude, yes! Dude.
Who can blow the biggest fart was probably the funniest thing I think I've ever seen in my entire life. And I mean, tears coming out of my eyes. Women don't understand it. They just don't understand. Some women do. I think Ashley thinks that farts are kind of funny. I'm sure I would enjoy that episode. Sounds hilarious. There are some women, but most women, they just don't understand. All men. It doesn't matter. I like to think, Sean, because it changed my life. You're welcome. Change your life. Wow. Absolutely. It was a life-changing experience. It really was. That's what I aim to do, Mike. That's right. I like to change lives through my... Gotcha. Wow. Thank you, Sean. On TV. Appreciate that. Okay. Ashley is our assistant. Oh. Oh. Wait, wait. Whoa. Eddie's doing the robot that they show at the opening of the show. Okay, good. Ashley's going to be on American Idol tonight. What? Ash. Ashley's going to be on American Idol tonight.
in Idol tonight. You mean the biggest show in America? Yeah. The number one rated show in the United States of America. Ashley's going to be on it tonight. Wow. Yeah. Now, here's the deal. When you watch it, they're going to call her Sarah. And the reason is because that's her real name and they wouldn't let her use anything but her real name. They were taking, making her sign waivers. They were like proof of DNA swab. Oh, seriously, man. I mean, she said it was pretty hardcore what they put her through, you know. Oh, yeah. And so when you see her tonight, her name's going to be Sarah, but she's blonde. You won't miss her. Utterly horrendous. Well, hey, not yet. Please, save it. It's on. Just save it. Her singing style is very unique. Thank you. Oh, help her. So I guess Simon Cowell. I think that sounds good. You do? I think that there's a few people that audition for American Idol. That's how they feel, that it's not bad. Yeah, I get a lot of those emails now. Yeah? Yeah. In fact, here is Simon Cowell telling Jay Leno the exact same thing. Cut 31.
Under normal circumstances, if someone like that came into my record label, they'd last one second. We have to sit there for like three or four minutes listening to this absolute nonsense and then attempt to give them constructive criticism. But then they don't believe that they're not good after that sometimes. I think I'm being kinder than Paula. Completely. You can see this sort of madness in their eyes. And I'm like the evil one for saying, don't think you're going to have a career. You criticize that singing. I'm just going to let you know that our very own American Idol star is going to be doing a national radio tour tomorrow in the United States of America. So weird. That's right. Morning shows across the country want to talk to Sarah, a.k.a. Ashley from The Mikey Show, about being on American Idol. They want to talk to her tomorrow after seeing her tonight.
So, not bad. Now, this is going to be interesting because on that same interview with Jay Leno, Simon previewed the singers that are going to stink things up tonight. So, maybe she's in this clip. I don't know. Cut 32. What are you going to sing? I'm going to sing, I Can't Make You Love Me. Great. Lay down with me. Wow. Tell me no lies. Just hold me. I think they're going to show a lot of... In fact, when I was listening to that, I was thinking, I think they're saving Sarah. I think they may be saving Sarah for the show. Because it's that good, kid. That's why. Because it's that good. Sensual. Get up there. That was Livin' La Vida Loca.
No, it wasn't. William Hung when he did it. I agree, man. William Hung, you know, he had an affectation to his voice. It was a big mockery of him doing that song. He didn't do that song. At least you have a Latino sound when you're doing that. This is pathetic. I think that I have a better way of grasping the artist, but then putting my own spin on it. I don't even think that he was trying to sing. It's your interpretation, right? He needs to... I mean, I don't even need to go there with what he means. I know what you mean, though. I mean, about you and how you're interpreting it, and he doesn't. He doesn't really have a style. That's why you're the female version of it. Well, the thing that's cool is that when you hear Ashley sing, you know, that's a sign of it. Like, when you hear Guns N' Roses, you go, oh, it's Axl. And when you hear Ashley sing, there's no doubt about it. It's very distinct. Which is important to, you know. You say, yeah, that's Ash. For sure, you know, you know. Utterly horrendous. Did you know?
that last night the Democrats debated and got heated. Ooh. Uh-oh. Saucers and milk. Oh, no. They got heated. Well, you guys know, it's all about, at this point now, it's all about Hillary, Obama, and Edwards. And really, Hillary and Barack Obama, they despise one another's faces. Dude, it was, whoa. Yeah, they do not like each other. And they don't like each other a lot. Yeah. And I'm sure that privately, there's stuff that is discussed. Oh, yeah. But here is Barack Obama with a pretty good zinger for Hillary. Cut one. In an editorial board with the Reno newspaper, you said two different things because I have read the transcript. You talked about Ronald Reagan being a transformative political leader. I did not mention his name. Your husband did. Well, I'm here. He's not. I can't tell who I'm running against sometimes. I think we both have very passionate and committed spouses who stand up for us, and I'm proud of that.
Yeah, but yours was the former president. Right. And he's saying a lot on your behalf. Yeah. You know, I haven't heard from Cindy McCain. I just, I haven't. I haven't heard Cindy McCain... Who's hot, by the way. Hey, how old is Cindy McCain? I want to know that. She's gorgeous. I think she's 17. I think he may be in some trouble. Wow. Yeah, she's pretty. She's very pretty, Cindy McCain. But anyway, yeah, so she's being... criticized for this Bill Clinton stuff. To the point where her camp has told Bill he needs to chill out. Tone it down. We've been saying, I don't know that Bill, deep in his heart, wants for her to be president. No way. He doesn't want anything to soil that legacy. Absolutely. He wants that legacy to go live on. So he's like, alright, I won't say anything. This is more Barack on Hillary last night. Cut to. Let's talk about Ronald Reagan. What you just repeated here today is patent... Wait, no, Hillary, you just spoke for two minutes. I did not say anything about Ronald Reagan. You said two things. You talked about admiring Ronald Reagan, and you talked about the ideas of the Republicans. I didn't talk about Ronald Reagan. Hillary, we just had the tape. You just said that I complimented the Republican ideas. That is not true. What I said, and I will provide you with a quote. What I said was, is that Ronald Reagan was a transformative political figure because he was able to get Democrats...
to vote against their economic interests, to form a majority, to push through their agenda. An agenda that I objected to, because while I was working on those streets, watching those folks see their jobs shipped overseas, you were a corporate lawyer sitting on the board of Walmart. I was fighting these fights. I was fighting these fights. Wow. Good night. I wish I would have seen that. Because they were in South Carolina, it was obvious that the audience was totally supporting Obama. So anytime Hillary would say something about Obama, they'd boo her. Really? They would boo her. That's gnarly. And then whatever Obama said, they were applauding, regardless of what he was saying. Listen, I do not support Hillary Clinton, but I don't like that. I don't like that stuff. I always want fair, fair, fair, fair, fair. So I don't like if they're... Well, and it's funny because Edward's just been trailing so bad in the polls. Like in Nevada, he got like 4% of the vote. I mean, it's just been brutal. But he actually came out as like the shining star last night.
Because he was staying out of all that crap. And then the one time he did get to talk, he was like, okay, you guys, enough of the personal bickering. There's actually issues at hand like healthcare and the environment. So he actually came out looking really good last night. As soon as you said that, I was like, I feel bad for the guy because they're going at it so much he doesn't get to say anything about his issues. Let's see. Now... Sean, did we get the first part of this answer or did we still just have the second part of the answer? We just have the second part. Okay. So, I wish we had the first part because this was so stupid to me. I listened to it this morning and it was so stupid to me. They ask Barack Obama if because of a few social things that happened and social issues and what people stand for, does he consider Bill Clinton our first black president? Oh, come on. What the heck? What? And I thought, that's the stupidest thing I've ever... And he answers it. What the heck? He answers instead of saying, no, I don't. And he does it in this very wordy... And I'm just like, why don't you just say what you thought when you heard the question? Which is what we all thought. Like, give me a break. What are you talking about, sucker? Yeah. But...
So he gives it this answer and then he kind of makes a joke, cut four. Do you think Bill Clinton was our first black president? You know, I would have to, you know, investigate more, you know, Bill's dancing abilities and, you know, some of this other stuff before I accurately judged whether he was in fact a brother. So what you're hearing there is an edit. That's funny. I'm sure that can be arranged. Yeah. Hey, listen. If it had sounded just like that, it would have been great. That would have been funny. But he gives an answer. Like, speaks to the things that Bill Clinton did do. Discussing. Well, yeah, maybe we could. And, you know, is he black? And, you know, what does black mean? Yeah, dude. Whatever. Whatever is right. We got a show for you today.
But let's take a couple of calls from P1s, and then we'll get into it. P1 Scooby, what's up, dude? Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's going on? What's going on, guys? Not too much. Hey, I wanted to let you know if you knew anything about the Oscar nomination this morning. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Don't say, don't say, don't say. What we're going to do is we're going to take a break. When we come back, we're going to talk a little bit about what's the main things in the headlines. We're going to mention, I'm going to have Sky tell everybody what the nominations for the Oscars came out this morning. Sky will fill everybody in on it, but we're going to take a break before we do it, so don't say anything, all right, Scoop? Yeah, man. All right, man. On the line is P1Nerd. Greetings and salutations. How are you? I'm fine. I just want to let all the P1s know that version 2 of P1's site is up, and it has direct links to your blogs. if they need it. It's like a nice little complimentary to a Mikey show if they've never been to it. Yeah, now, wow, I wish you'd asked me about that one, nerd. Oh. You know, because I want to be, I mean, eventually they're going to be like, well, what do I need Mikey's site for? You know what I mean? Yeah.
If our blogs are on your site, then... Well, he says they link. I know, but I mean, then we don't... Are people going to go to our site if they can get them there? Well, no, it's linking them to our site. So they go to p1site.com and then it sends them to mikeyshow.com. Okay, so it's good. There's a lot of links to your site. Is that a good thing? Yeah. It is, Sean? Oh, yeah. Okay, I just... I'm scared that people are going to go, I don't need you, Mike. No, no, no, no. I never want to do that. Okay. All right, nerd. Well, that's awesome, and everybody check it out, and I'm a fan of yours. Oh, well, thank you. Thank you. P1 Felix is on the line. Hi, good morning, guys. Good morning. Hey, first-time caller, first-time listener, actually. Sweet. Yeah, I just heard about you guys this past weekend. Are you from San Diego? Yeah, I'm from San Diego, but I was actually on a business trip. I heard you guys. I was cross-country. Real quickly, so you don't live in San Diego, then. No, I do live in San Diego. I've just never heard of you guys before. Who did you used to listen to? I used to listen to 91X. Sweet. And we got you now. Yes, you do. And I actually just found out what a P1 is. Nice. Awesome! Was it somebody else that turned you on to the show? Is that how it happened? No, you know what? I was actually, I was trying to get to the point, but basically what happened was I was at a pool in Miami.
And there was a group of kids, I guess, talking. And I say kids. I'm 31. A group of kids are about 19, 20. And they were talking about your show. Oh, cool. In Miami? Yes. At a swimming pool in Miami? That's crazy. They're actually talking about the girl that's going to be on American Idol tonight. Yeah, Ashley. Oh. Yes. Yeah. So I said, well, if they want to be interested, is she any good? She's like, well, she sounds pretty exotic. You may want to check it out. Oh, I like it. Sounds exotic. I really like that description. Exotic. Wow. That's kind of accurate, actually. Well, you know, yeah. I mean, I don't know that I personally, when I hear the word exotic, imagine blonde hair. But, you know, hey, to each exotic their own. My voice. Yeah, maybe it's the voice that's very exotic. Well, I'm looking forward to it. There you go. The reason why I'm calling you guys is I watched the game this past weekend. And I know that you guys had a big thing this past weekend. Eddie, what reason? You talked me into rooting for the Patriots for some reason. I don't remember what it was. Well, you know, to me, first of all, Eli Manning is a turd. I will never cheer for him. I hate his guts. I don't ever want to see him celebrating.
He doesn't have emotion. We hate you. And secondly, if the Patriots got through the Chargers, which they did, I would like to see them make history. I want to be able to tell my kids I saw the greatest team ever. And that's kind of cool. Yeah, so we'll be rooting for the Patriots. They're AFC, Chargers AFC. Go get them. You guys have a great morning, and I look forward to listening to you guys. Thank you very much, man. We appreciate it, and we're glad to have you. Here's what's on the show this morning. First of all, I went into the restroom right before we came on the air, and Dr. Phil was there offering cologne to everyone that walked in. Whoa, that's weird. Is he taking tips? That's the deal. okay, do you have any, let me get some of that CKA1. He says, I said, you got any of that? And he said, yeah, we sure do. So he, I sprayed a spray on my hand, and I dabbed it on my face, and then I was right about to walk out, and he went. Oh, subtle, Dr. Phil. Yeah, really subtle. And so I was like, okay. Weird. So was that a slam, you think, when Ashley just said right now, like, he needs it? Like, I've got too much. She met Dr. Phil.
Yeah, like Dr. Phil needs the money. I thought it was I have on too much cologne. Oh, no, I was talking about Dr. Phil needing the money. Well, maybe she feels that way. Yeah, maybe she does. I mean, I know lately she hates me, but... I don't know what just happened. All I know is he's here. Okay, great. Who knows why he's... I don't know why he's here. And so we'll see why he's here. Also, we're going to have a very special guest on the show today. We've been getting emails from a guy. who feels very passionately about the movie Cloverfield. And he's been emailing us for quite a while, and he really wanted to get on the air. And we didn't let him on the air because the FCC refers to him as a crackpot. So we weren't letting him on the air. But now that the movie's out, I figured, why don't we do it? And so he'll be on today.
Fantastic. That's right. Wow. And so that should be good. Also, we are playing a new game today. And you know how the Mikey Show comes up with a new game just about every five minutes. So we have a new game that we're going to premiere today called Guess That Jingle. I'll tell you more about how Guess That Jingle works in a little bit. Boston Rob has another single dropping today. Geez. Another one? Fire. I know. And it's... The song is called Hammond. Uh-oh. Are you getting upset? He wrote it, and Skye sang it, actually. I did not. I didn't like Hammond. I don't recall singing it. Yeah, well, I heard it, Skye, and it's definitely your voice. I doubt that very much. I didn't like Hammond. It's to the tune of Jammin' by Bob Marley. Of course it is. And so that's going to be...
Come get some ham. That's right. We're going to be doing that here in just a little bit. Don't go anywhere. It's a Mikey show. And Stephen Wright's in the stand-up spotlight. I got on this chairlift with this guy I didn't know. He went halfway up the mountain without saying a word. He turned to me and said, you know, this is the first time I've been skiing in 10 years. I said, yeah, why did you take such a long time off? He said, I was in jail. I said, not really. I said, all right, better tell me why. And he said, you're just a total stranger off of Ferris wheel. I said, I remember you. You're a whining little kid. This is the Mikey Show. He presents the 21st annual Royal Rumble for a championship. WrestleMania challenges the legend killer, Rey Mysterio. After I had first signed up for AIS, an insurance company that I originally had, if I can get a better deal now that I had a quote from AIS, they actually told me no. And about two months later, a gift card in the mail. And so I called them up to see why they had sent me a gift card, and they said it was from somebody I referred, and they told me the name of the person. I didn't recognize the name at all. They said her name was Amy, and he's like, I don't know an Amy. She just happened to work. What happened was it was the lady that I had called to get a better quote from. I called into AIS to get a better quote.
new clothes so the lady who works for your old insurance company heard that you got a better deal with AIS and she then switched over to AIS oh my god so anyway dude thank you for telling us the story I appreciate it nice I appreciate you thank you bro AIS is number 1-800-777-4AIS rock 101 We've got a wet ride in our hands again here this morning and things are back pretty much in full force as everyone heads back to work after a holiday yesterday. So man, you can tell it's going to be a busy commute here this morning. So give yourself some extra time. Already a busy ride on both the 505 northbound coming up into the South Bay from Chula Vista up to National City. The 5 freeway continues heavy to an accident near the 94 and then it backs up again coming in towards downtown toward the bridge. That bridge is a full span backup getting into Coronado this morning. That's also affecting southbound 5 coming out of downtown and towards the bridge as well. North 805 out of the south base picking up plenty of brake lights here out of Chula Vista up to National City, North Park, and then a minor delay through Kearney Mesa. West 94 on the King Freeway. That still has an earlier accident clearing near the 15. Another new accident near the 5. Essentially, you're on the brakes here from Kelton Road all the way into downtown on that King Freeway right now. The westbound 8.
We've been cooperating this morning. It's a pretty easy ride in the Mission Valley. South Pond's out of the 15, though a little tight off the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. Reduced speeds again through Rancho Bernardo. And the coaster ride, South Pond 5, so out of Encinitas now into Solana Beach. Down with Lawrence on Rock 105.3. The Mikey Show continues with E. I'm 37 years old. I'm a Gemini. I shave my head bald. I'm atrocious to look at, and I have a good sense of humor. Eddie. Anything that picks up her. Sky. I'm sorry. I talk like an old human. Oh, listen. Sean. The sky's right. Boston Rob. I got Boston on my mind. On your throat. I despise theme parties. They make me really uncomfortable, and I hate them. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. It's a Mikey Show at 645. Today's the last day to register if you want to vote in the February 5th presidential primary. Rob, relax. Tom Brady.
has been seen walking around in a walking cast. He'll be okay, though. He'll be okay. That doesn't sound good. Relax. It's just I'm kicking so much ass this season. That's all it is. That's all it is. Really? Is that a kicking arse cast? Hell yeah. One more to go. Are you ready for the nominations? Yeah. Oscar nominations announced this morning. And Skye, what do we got? Okay. Where do we want to start? Best actor, maybe? Or how do you want to go? Well, let's start little to, you know, the small stuff. Well, perceived small stuff like best supporting and all that stuff. Oh, you want to do all those categories? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's hear that. And then we'll move up to best actor, best actress, best film, all that. Best director. Okie doke. So a performance by an actress in a supporting role.
Cate Blanchett in I'm Not There. Okay, now, as we go through these, if somebody here on the show has seen this movie, say, seen it. Otherwise, we're going to assume we've never seen it. Okay. Ruby Dee in American Gangster. Okay. Sorzee Ronan in Atonement. Who? That's probably not even how you say that name. I'm telling you guys, I bet we're like everyone listening. I bet most of us in here and listening are like, what is that? Amy Ryan in Gone Baby Gone. I think we have a clip of Amy Ryan talking about Call 28. Sure, be ready. Yeah, why not? What else would I choose to do? Stay home. People have reacted very generously to my work in this film. What film? Gone Baby Gone? What is that?
All right. Well, congratulations, Amy. Yeah. And then finally for the supporting actress category, Tilda Swinton in Michael Clayton. Ah, finally. Ah, yes. I was hoping she would be recognized for her work in Michael Clayton. That's a movie, Michael Clayton? That's not the director? I don't know. All right. Supporting actor, Casey Affleck in The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford. Dude, now, I've seen it. Oh. Ah. There's one. I saw it on a pay-per-view hotel television. Now, here's the deal. The reason is because it's artsy-fartsy. The movie is very artsy-fartsy. It's a Brad Pitt movie where he plays Jesse James, and it's artsy-fartsy. When it did come out in theaters, it was probably only in art house theaters. It was good and bad. I think 99.9% of everyone listening right now would think it was the most boring film ever. And I'm kind of in that. I'm kind of in there too. But I'll tell you something, dude. Casey Affleck plays the coward Robert Ford who killed Jesse James. He is stunning. Wow. Oh, he's stunning in the performance. He plays that guy. Like, you've met that guy. He's a...
That's what he is. He's a fan of Jesse James. Jesse James earned this legendary status of being a murderer and a robber. And at the time, back in the 18-whatevers, they were taking pictures of him and he became a legend. He was an outlaw. He was an outlaw. And Casey Affleck plays this nerdy, kind of strange fan. who's just a big fan of his and gets to meet him, and Jesse James, for whatever reason, likes him and lets him hang out. Really? And he ends up killing him because he's nuts. Oh, my God. And you can see it in his eyes that he's just a little nuts, and he's also got kind of that slow blinking thing. Yeah. He's good, man. I hope he wins, and I don't know who else is nominated. Now you want to see the movie. It's really good. I mean, it's good because of performances. Brad Pitt's amazing, but the movie is boring. Okay, also for supporting actor, Javier Bardem in No Country for... Bardeen. Bardeen. No Country for Old Men. Bardeen. Eddie, Clint from the BC and Clint show said that that's one of the best movies he's ever seen, ever. I've read nothing but amazing things about it, so I guess it's pretty good. What else? Philip Seymour Hoffman in Charlie Wilson's War. He's good in everything he does. Yeah, he is. Hal Holbrook.
Into the Wild. Holbrook. I saw that. He plays the old guy in the movie. Well, he's 104. And he is. He's really, really good. He's really, really good. And then finally in this category, Tom Wilkinson for Michael Clayton. Clayton, going off. I guess that's something good. He's popular. Best actress in a leading role. Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth the Golden Age. God, they love her. They really do. Whatever she does. She's like the new Meryl Streep. She is, man. Julie Christie in Away From Her. Oh, man. That's like, saw that. It's really good. Great piece, Mike. Okay. Marion Cotillard.
I don't know. In La Vie and Rose. Living La Vida Loca. Laura Linney in The Savages. Just the trailer put me to sleep on that. And then finally for leading actress Ellen Page in Juno. Ah, yes. Wow. I want her to win. Yeah, me too. But you haven't seen the movie. I don't care. It's the only movie that I've even heard of on that list. I don't know why. I haven't seen stuff that I'll be like, I like that guy. I vote for him. And I saw her on Oprah, and she was really, I liked her. There you go. I liked her. Okay, leading actor, George Clooney in Michael Clayton. Damn. Daniel Day-Lewis, There Will Be Blood. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yay. Now, the reason I'm freaking out when she says There Will Be Blood is because it's from my favorite film director, Paul Thomas Anderson. Who, if he's ever on the show, I actually hope he never is. I actually hope he never is. It wouldn't work out well. Yeah, I don't want to talk to him. What? Would you creep him out? No, I wouldn't creep him out. I wouldn't know how to do the interview. Yeah, you'd geek out too much. I'd geek out too much, and I'm a big fan. Yeah. Johnny Depp for Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Okay. Great. Tommy Lee Jones in the Valley of Laya. What?
Never heard of it? Anyone? No. And then finally, Viggo Mortensen for Eastern Promises. Seen it. Get out of here, dude. Eastern Promises? Are you kidding me? Just Netflixed it. Watched it this weekend. Was it good? It was okay. How was he? He's pretty good. He has this whole Russian accent through the whole movie. Kind of hard to understand him a little bit. very uncomfortable scene. He has like a five minute fight scene in a bathhouse where he's completely nude. Come on. You see everything. What's that film called? Eastern Promises. What is Netflix? Bits and pieces. The whole deal. Best Director. Julianne Schnabel for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Julianne Schnabel. I'm going for him. Jason Reitman for Juno. Tony Gilroy for Michael Clayton. That's where we lived. Yeah, Gilroy. Joel and Ethan Coen for No Country for Old Men.
two guys to direct that movie. And finally, for Best Director, Paul Thomas Anderson. Yeah! Paul Thomas Anderson! Yeah! I'm really happy! Okay, and our final category is Best Picture. I would be the guy, if he won, that would be standing behind him, holding an Oscar as he's giving a speech, going... Pumping the fist. You know how there's always geeks behind the person giving the speech. And no one can pay attention to him because you're so distracted behind him. Yeah. And then there's usually like a group like there's like four guys standing behind the person talking and they're all like hugging each other and like you know got to have diapers on and everything because they're so freaking out. Right. They're freaking out. Okay. And finally best picture. Do it. Oh man. Atonement. Okay.
I felt so, and I felt so, I feel so dumb not seeing it. Like, it was suddenly, like you think smart people should see atonement. I'll pass. Yeah, great review. Yeah, that's what I hear, but I'll pass too. Juno? Yay! Yeah. I do want to see it. I want to see that. Yeah, I want to see it, because Jason Bateman did it. Looks really good. Looks great. Go see it. How come you haven't seen it yet? Me? Yeah. I don't ever go to movies. It's because it's cereal. Everything. Everything. It can't. It's cereal. Okay. Michael Clayton for Best Picture. Aye, aye, aye. We better see that or something. What is up? What's it about? I don't know. Anyone? He's a lawyer. That's all I know. That sounds good. I'm in. All right. Also for Best Picture, No Country for Old Men. I really want to see that now. I really want to. It's pretty good. And then the final nominee. What? For Picture of the Year. Hey! You need to go see that. I know it. So the big winners, at least for the nominations, are No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood with eight nominations apiece. There you go. So that's what, okay. You know what I just realized? So we just gave the nominations for the Oscars. And I'm thinking in my head, I guess people really want to hear this. I did.
In fact, when I heard that it was going to be at 5.30, I'm trying to get to work so I can ask you, Sky, who got nominated, blah, blah, blah. So I know I want to know because I'm like a geek when it comes to movies. But I was thinking about it, and I'm like, well, what about you, the P1? I honestly thought that right now when I was driving in. Like, is there something? What do you, like, for instance, Britney Spears, sick of it? Okay, don't want to hear about it anymore? Cool. What do you want? That's a good idea. Yeah, like, what are people thinking about? What's happening that, like, you think is interesting that you're seeing on TV? Or maybe you don't watch TV, but this is what you think is interesting right now. And be, like, for real. Don't call and say, I think the environment is what's... I mean, be for real. Maybe that's for real. Okay, but do you really... Okay, listen. If somebody says... They call and they're like, for real, Mike. Real topics. I'm really interested in the environment. And what are we missing? Maybe that's what we're missing. Maybe you call and say, that's what you're missing. Why aren't you talking more green? Thank you. Go green. I want to hear green. It's a good suggestion, Mike. Maybe it is, what are we missing? And you call and you're like, dude, why aren't you guys talking about like a UFC that happened this weekend? Whatever. Whatever. Cloverfield. The movie Cloverfield. Why aren't we talking about, what are we missing? Current stories. Current stuff that you're interested in. Okay. It could be anything. I like it.
Sports, politics, news, entertainment, whatever it is. Because I thought that this morning. Do we care about the movies? Right. But what about you guys? What are we missing? 570-1053. Call us now. We'll do that. Mikey Show continues on The Rock. American Idol is more than 75 million viewers made the premiere of the season's biggest event. We are the most watched TV show in America. Sorry guys, Scarlett Johansson may be off the market. It's being reported that she's engaged to Ryan Reynolds. LT explained yesterday his decision not to return to the game on Sunday. Also will not play in the Pro Bowl. Ashley, could you sing along with it or do you not really know it very well? You know, Ashley's on American Idol tonight, so, I mean, it's kind of a privilege that we would be able to ask for her to sing in concert, you know, live. No, I understand, guys. I just don't want to kill my whole image right now. This is a big day for me, and I just don't want anything to mess up my potential career. Yeah, I understand. Sorry, guys. We're a song that I do know, and I'll see you next time.
I thought she'd wait until she was signed to a record label to actually start singing. You know what I mean? Before she would start singing. You know what? Actually, I've decided to take over you as part of my management. It's a good idea. Wow. It's a good idea. What you need is good representation. Good representation. Represent her. And there will be no more singing on the show. I was Ashley's manager. Remember the hit Hysterity? I've taken her on. Sorry. That you were. I know. You're out. You're out. What are the things, you know, because a lot of times, the things that I do find the Britney Spears news interesting. I do. I know that you hear a lot. Who cares about Britney? I know. I hear it too. But I don't know why. I'm interested. Who cares? That's why I said, well, what are we missing? Because we try to talk about everything here. And I said, 570-1053, call us and tell us, what are we missing?
P1 Pool Boy is on the line. Pool Boy. What's going on, dude? Yeah, I wanted to talk about the writer's strike, particularly the new episodes of Conan O'Brien. Right. I don't know if you know this, but he's kind of mean-spirited when he really doesn't have any writers. He's also grown like this grizzly beard. Right. And last episode, I saw all he did was play country music and spin his ring on his desk. Yeah. So what you're saying is that you're noticing that the show is suffering because he doesn't have professionals. I don't think he has a show without any writers. Yeah. Wow. And is this like ground zero for what we can expect of like other shows? Well, I don't know. I mean, you guys think the other shows... Well, first of all, there's not a lot of new shows on right now, right? Because of it? Yeah. There won't be coming back a lot of shows, you know? A lot of reality TV going on right now. Oh, yeah. Okay. Yeah, they're bringing Big Brother back. Yeah, when does Big Brother? At the end of the month, right? Big Brother's back at the end of the month. No, February. February 8th. Yeah, early February. Now, this guy says, more writer's strike. I want to hear writer's strike stuff. Okay. I mean, we got it. Here's Jack Black talking about it. Cut 30. I think it's a shame that they couldn't work it out. I mean, the top writers are affected by the strike, but they don't have much to lose if...
The unions didn't get anything. The top writers are still going to get the back end on everything. They'll get whatever they want because they're the top writers. It's really about the rest of the people and the industry's minimum wage and taking care of those people. So it's important. Yeah, and I read this morning that in regards to the writer's strike, today's going to be the first time in the last couple months that the Writers Guild and the CEOs of the big studios are actually going to sit down today to try and work it out. They're showing Ashley's promo right now on American Idol. On Channel 6, they're showing it right now. My love is growing strong. That's her? No, no, that's not her. There she is. Do you hear of a guy named William Hung? American Idol. At 8 on Fox 6. As a whole clip, it's Ashley. Why would they let me talk? I don't get it. Yeah, why wouldn't they? They haven't let me talk in one promo I haven't seen. It's not fair. I haven't said a word. It's just not fair. Shut up! Tonight. Tonight, Ashley. Let your voice do the talking. That's right. I mean, that's fine, guys. 100% back in my voice. There you go. Viewers know what's coming. Yeah. Maybe it's that voice that they... There's a reason why they... What? P1 Suburban Cowboy's on the line. What are we missing? What are we not talking about that Suburban Cowboy that you think that listeners want to hear? What are we missing? Well, I might like this one, but...
The issue of medical cannabis in California and the DEA race on all the co-ops. I think it's ridiculous. You know, it's something that California voters voted on. And it's, you know, you're denying sick people their medicine. It doesn't make sense. You know, and you guys rag on Skye for growing pot back in the day. Allegedly. There's a serious side. Never proven in a court of law. I love weed. Never proven. All right, thank you, Suburban Cowboy. That's a big issue. If it was a Suburban Cowboy show, you would hear a lot about that issue. Yes. It's a Mikey show, and so you hear a lot about Britney Spears. That's what I think is interesting. But if it was a Suburban Cowboy show, hey, this morning you know, 7 o'clock, you're going to hear a lot of medical marijuana talk. Don't you feel that most of the stoners take advantage of medical marijuana? Yes, definitely.
But the sick people shouldn't suffer because some people are taking advantage. Well, how do you fix that? Yeah. If the federal government would regulate it, it would fix it. How? But what would your... If they, by selling it, by, you know, actually having a doctor's prescription, having to go to a pharmacy and get it that way, instead of, you know, having these doctors let you pay for a prescription and then go to these cannabis clubs, you know, it's just... You know what? I don't buy those, Sky. What? I don't buy the idea of smoking it. Like it's the only drug I've ever heard of in the world where people take medicine to get better and it has to be the only way that it can be delivered to the body and work is through smoke. That's not the only way. What other ones? Eat it. Edibles. You can take it. Brownies. Pills. Pizza. Yeah, and they make pills. No, no, no, no. Okay. There's pills, Mike, but since it's not regulated and since the pharmaceutical companies aren't making it because legally they can't. How are you going to make a pill in your kitchen? I'll say this. If they said that if we pass this law... Pass on grass. Yeah, they pass on grass. Right. If they pass a bill that says that pot will be made for people that need it medicinally and it'll be in pill form...
I think I would feel like people weren't abusing it. You know what I mean? And they could do that if the federal government would make it legal for medical purposes, and then pharmaceutical companies could make the pill form, and then it would be legit. But since it's just California doing it... I've never heard that, by the way. Have you guys ever heard? I didn't know that. I didn't know that that's something that's talked about. If it were passed into law, pharmaceutical companies would start taking it up, and you would see pills being made that are pot pills. No. I've never heard that. So, I mean, it's a cool theory that you have. I wonder if that's really the case because I'd be behind it. Yeah, but you'd have to get the federal government behind it and they're not. Yeah, because right now it's like this. It's like, you know what? I have cancer and really the only thing that cures it is me downing a six-pack of beer. And yeah, so I also happen to get buzzed. And then if they made a pill that did the same thing the beers would do, all right. But, I mean, we don't want to just give you weed so you can be smoking out, especially like really good, high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade weed. I just don't think that that's right. But if somebody needs it because they're in pain, I'm down. P1 Surf Rider, what are we missing? What should we be talking about? Well, I heard you guys talking about the environmental stuff, but I'm a little biased. But I think you hear more about that. The environmental stuff. Yeah, anything.
There's so much environmental stuff going on, especially in San Diego, specifically, you could talk about. But, you know, you don't really hear a lot about that on the morning show. Now, see, I want to instantly, I go, I want to be critical of that idea of talking about the environment. Because instantly, I think to myself, there's, you know, you've got a room of 100 people. Maybe there's three people that really feel that way. But I'm thinking, I... I personally don't think that most people want to hear about the environment, but who am I to say? Because I think most people are interested in hearing about the Britney stuff I talk about, and I don't know that that's true. Sure, but the one thing most people don't realize is how much the environmental stuff affects your daily life. But don't you think people would find that boring that are driving right now on the freeway? People don't think that's kind of boring? They want to laugh and stuff? Yeah, you kind of want to laugh at it, but you can make it funny, too. There's some pretty crazy stuff. I was researching Governor Schwarzenegger and some of the crazy stuff he was doing as a young kid, but you know what? Yeah, wearing wigs and high heels. Yeah, that's what you mean. Back in the day, but he's our governor now making huge choices on things like closing down State Parks. Who cares about the environment?
We do. I do. We do very much. Yes, go green. I act like I do because I know people think it's a big deal, but I don't really care. I mean, once the robots take over anyway, who cares? It's really going to matter anyway. Are you still driving that Hummer, Governator? Well, I had it, you know, I did the thing to make it seem like I like the environment. Oh, you're setting a horrible example. No, I had them retrofit the stupid Hummer. To what? It runs on farts or something. I don't know. Something. I eat Brussels sprouts every time I drive. And the seed has a tube that's attached to it. I don't want to get into it. Right. It's hard to explain. You wouldn't understand. It's very complicated. I'm doing my part, though. You're doing my part. That's what the guy wants to talk about, man. Love it. I like it. Great. Here, here, here. Yes. Green. Recycle toilet paper. Yeah, green. Yeah, green. Ashley's in there. She uses a roll of trees. Oh, yeah. Attack me. Wait a second, though. I do so much on a daily basis to go green. It's not even funny. She's Miss Green. It's not even funny. What?
But wait a second. You said you wrap your hand like a mummy when you use it as a toilet paper. She's working on it. Yeah, and then Skye said you should get recycled toilet paper. And I said, you're right. I saw that on Oprah. And then now I'm going to get recycled toilet paper. So in your face. Well, I'm out of toilet paper right now, Heidi. It's not going to feel very good. Yeah, I use it. Not fun at my house. You use recycled toilet paper? Dude, it's the same. And recycled paper towels. Yeah, recycled paper towels. Guy, it can't be soft. The brand is Earth First, and they sell it at the Vons by my house. Is it like wiping with sandpaper? No. It's no different to me. Do you want to know another thing I'm doing every day? I'm no longer taking receipts when I go to the ATM machine. Because if no one took a receipt when they go to the ATM machine, you save massive amounts of paper every year. So I'm no longer taking receipts. I'll check my balance online. You know what? I want to be fair. I'm going to ask Skye about this. Because I want to be fair. Skye. What's up? The lady is saying no to receipts because she doesn't want to, you know, waste that paper, right? Of course. The receipt is printed.
And then the cashier says, do you want it? And she goes, no, I don't want to waste it. No, at the ATM. No, at the ATM machine. Oh, you say no. Okay, I got it. And then you say, no, I don't want it. And it doesn't waste more paper. Okay, but then she wraps her hand in toilet paper like a mummy. Okay, but how many times with that? I just said I'm getting recycled toilet paper. Okay, so what wastes more paper? Wrapping your hand like a mummy or taking the receipt at the ATM? I see what you're saying. Ignore my solar panels. Ignore my Honda Civic. You got me. I'm totally against global warming. Ashley's doing a lot. And yeah, there's things that we all need to work on. But at least she's doing a lot more than most people in this room are doing. Can I ask one more question? Go for it. Go for it. Now. I'm just wanting to know. Yeah, go ahead. And I'm here to help answer. With the mummifying of the hand. You know, with the toilet paper. Why do you do that? I've told you many times because I am a germaphobe when it comes to using the restroom in any sort of way. And I don't like, you know, I like to just be extremely...
clean when I use in the restroom. Have you considered maybe like a latex glove? Have you considered any of the 800 things that I do on a daily basis? Have you? That makes sense. Then get off my case and go green. Yeah. This is the thing I've always said about liberal politics. Personally. Do as I say, and let me wipe as I wipe. Do as I say, not as I wipe. That is their saying. Do as I say, not as I wipe. As I wipe. This is the Mikey Show. You've given everyone a great laugh and a great way to start my day, so we thank you. Thank you. We've got the Stennis, the Lincoln, and the Reagan all in port.
So they've got everything going on, and that's kind of unusual right now. And then you've got the Nimitz coming in and then leaving again on Thursday. So a lot of activity in North Island. Give yourself some extra time heading that direction. West 94 into King Freeway, backing up big time here from pretty much Federal all the way into downtown. The westbound 8 is now seeing some break nights as you come in through La Mesa, Spring Street out towards Lake Murray, then again towards the 805. Sarah tonight. My next guest.
Has been wanting to come on this radio program now for a long, long time. And he's been writing us emails. He is very, very concerned about the movie Cloverfield. And has wanted to come on and ask for people to boycott the film months before the film came out. And he knew it wasn't the monster part of it. Eddie, explain Dave's upsetness. this guy's so irritating like i talked just talked to him briefly and i'm already irritated but he uh is very upset he apparently used to live in new york and was in new york city when 9-11 went down and when he saw the first trailer for cloverfield i guess freaked out and said that he felt that they were playing on the fears of
People that went through 9-11 and people that are afraid of terrorism and things like that. Like seeing the head of the Statue of Liberty, I guess really upset him. And then he did go see the movie and I guess walked out because he was so upset by the scenes in the movie. His name is Dave Somerton and he's been writing us now for a long time. And now that the movie is out, we would have Dave on the air. Dave, are you there? Yeah, hey man. Dave, you are upset at the movie Cloverfield, and we just explained why. And what is your main message to people is, hey, just don't go see the film? Yeah, man, it's just wrong. It's just wrong, dude. I mean, the whole movie just plays on, again, our fears of what happened on 9-11. I mean, of course, it has to be in New York. Buildings have to come down and crumble. People have to run away. I mean, I ran away from this thing when it happened. I mean, the dust cloud that comes over you, you can't breathe, and it's exactly what happened. Right, and you feel that it's some sort of exploitation of the film. Absolutely, absolutely. I mean, all they're doing is making a buck on people, what happened to people when people died and what happened to New York. I mean, there's even a scene where there's a Time Warner building that looks just like the Twin...
It looks just like the Twin Towers. And it just totally, you know, one of them was knocked down. I didn't see anything in the movie that looked like the Twin Towers. Yeah, the one scene where the building, where the woman lives in. Oh, where it's like, there's two buildings next to the other. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. One's kind of resting on the other. Yes, yes, yes. I mean, come on. Here's the thing. If it didn't have to, if it wasn't playing on its fears, why did they have to focus on that building that happened to have two exact towers exactly like that? looking like you know i i don't know dave but i do want to point something out um you know you claim that the movie made you upset that you walked out of the movie and uh i just find that really interesting being that that scene with that building leaning on the other building is quite a ways into the movie towards the end yeah pretty much towards the end so either somebody told you about it in detail maybe somebody's fibbing to us listen man i mean this is just absolutely I'm starting a petition. People need to... You know, when I was watching the trailer, I was like, you know something, this is... You're starting a petition? Yeah. For what? I just want people just to boycott the whole film. This is ridiculous. Boycott? Wait, wait, wait. So the petition will be to boycott the film? Yeah. Wouldn't you just ask people to boycott the film? Yeah. Yeah. What is the signature going to do then? Like, make them promise? Dude, I got a website. Dude, everything. I mean, I'm telling you. You have a website?
Yeah, yeah. I mean, yeah, this is just the movie. What's the website? The URL? Yes, the website name, the URL. What is it? DontSeeCloverfield.com. Let me see. All right, hang on. Hang on, buddy. www. DontSeeCloverfield.com. DontSeeCloverfield.com. Yeah, I'm not getting anything either. Neither am I. Did you just get this website? Because we just went to DontSeeCloverfield.com and there's nothing there, bro. What are you talking about? Maybe we're spelling it wrong. Maybe it's the letter C. What are we doing wrong here? What? www.dont... I think it's a movie thing. The movie guys closed my website down. What the hell?
Why, were they threatening to do that? Yeah, the movie guys closed your website down. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, do you know that for sure? It's gotta be them, because I've been calling them all the time. I've been calling them every day. I've been calling them every day. And so, what do you think they did? Do you think that they had a conspiracy and they said, you know, we will close this down, this website down? They can't close down his website. They can't threaten him. Yeah. Well, you said you're calling them every day. What are you saying when you're calling them every day? What do you say? That I'm going to close them down. That you're going to close them down. You're going to close them down. You're taking them down. You're going to take them down. Okay. All right. Now, you're claiming that you had a website called www.dontseecloverfield.com, and you're claiming that... It is not there right now on the internet because we try to go to it right now and there's nothing there. And you're saying, well, the only reason it must not be there is because they must have closed it down. Yeah. And then meanwhile, you're trying to close them down. And you're going to close them down. Yeah. So it's like a battle of the closing them down. Yeah, it's the battle of the closing downs. Should we give Dave the heads up on one thing? What, Eddie? In the movie Cloverfield, it's not.
Terrorists? Yes. You don't know that, Eddie. You know, Eddie brings up a really good point. It could be a robot monster operating by the terrorists. Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave, I understand how you'd be upset, you know, hey, 9-11 happened and it's playing on the fears, but you do realize it's a space alien in the film and not, you know. It's a monster, bro. Yeah, it's not. It's not a space alien, dude. It's a monster, you know. It's not, it's no, okay, it's a monster. Yeah. Yeah, it's not real, you know, so why does it upset you so? I mean, why did it have to do that, man? I mean, why did it have to make the building look like the Twin Towers? So if this movie would have taken place in, say, San Francisco, would you be still upset? I mean, I think the whole thing is bad anyway with the buildings going down, but why did it have to make it in New York? Why couldn't they do it someplace else? Okay, so to understand you correctly...
You're okay with, you know, movie studios depicting thousands of lives being lost by collapsing buildings as long as it's not the building or the city you lived in. Is that what I'm understanding? Well, I mean, come on, man. I was there when it happened. Why did I have to do it back in New York, man? I hope that movie studios consult with you then. Before making films that you could have been there. So they won't get shut down. Dave, we're talking to Dave Somerton. He's been writing us for a long time, and he wanted to come on the air a long time ago. That's crazy! Yes, and we didn't let him on the air, and we're letting him on now because Cloverfield is out in studios. And he is very passionate. And let me ask you, Dave, where were you born? New York. Okay, okay. Have you ever been on vacation anywhere outside of New York? Yeah. What's your favorite place to vacation? I mean, there's a lot of places. Give me one. Anywhere in the beach, I guess. Okay, give me a beach city that you've been to that you really enjoy. Miami. Okay, let's take Miami. Now we know it's your favorite place, maybe we should let Paramount Pictures know that if they ever want to do a disaster film in the city of Miami, they ought to think again because Dave likes Miami. Dave's been there. He's been there? What if they make it like Katrina then? Yeah.
How's that? Like a monster hurricane wipes out Miami? Yeah, I mean, look at all the people that got killed during Katrina. Would you petition that? I mean, yeah, if it makes it look like Katrina. It didn't hit Miami. Well, but that's his favorite beach town. Okay, let's say they were making a movie, and it was a movie in New Orleans, and there was a big sea monster, and it blew fiery breath. And the breath whipped up winds and it was reminiscent. So would that be the same thing, right, Dave? I don't know about that, but the movie had to think it looked like the two buildings look like a twin tower. That's all I'm saying. Dave, Dave, Dave, I feel bad because I think that maybe some of what you're saying is having the opposite effect. P1, your mom is on the line. P1, your mom, are you there? I'm here. And what did you want to say?
I just want to say now I actually want to go and watch this movie. Oh, no. Don't tell Dave that. Don't say that. She was kidding, Dave. Dave, how does it feel to be a movie promoter? You are now in the movie promotion business. You are now turning people onto the movie Cloverfield. This woman had no interest. After hearing you, she's interested in seeing the film. Talk about more awesome scenes. No. Dave, did you ever consider that perhaps by coming on the radio as you are, that you may be doing the opposite of your good works? Well, I just want people to know that they're just trying to make money on fears of terrorism, man. That's what I'm trying to say. Terrorism, man. I have also, Mikey, I wanted to also say something, too. The whole thing about it being in New York, the reason why the movie producers put things in these movies in New York It's because that's where everybody knows we're huge. It's a point of reference. It's a point of reference. Absolutely. And I think the reason why it was in New York. And why do you think the terrorists found New York? Because of movies? Wait. I think the reason why they put it in New York is because it's very claustrophobic. It's an island. Yeah. And there's only certain ways to get out. Yeah. So what about that, Dave? Well, the problem is that they made it look just like 9-11. That's what I'm saying.
I didn't see any planes. Yeah, I didn't see any planes flying into any buildings or anything. I saw someone look like a lizard or something like that. P1 Downspell is on the line. Is Downspell you there? Yep, I'm there. What did you want to ask Dave? I was just thinking, this is making me kind of upset about all the old Godzilla movies I saw. I think I'm going to have to call the makers of the Godzilla movies and tell them that I can't back their movies anymore. Godzilla's coming into L.A., and, you know, it's giving me flashbacks of when the earthquake were here, you know? Didn't even think about that. Dave, are you concerned that Godzilla movies will start an uproar in Los Angeles? Well, if that's what he feels, I think you should do it. Well, there you go. Maybe all of us should... Go ahead, Ashley. So, Dave, were you not upset, like, when King Kong came out, even though that was in New York? Yeah. Were you not mad at that? That was before us, man. That was before 9-11, dude. Wait a minute. No, that was set in old time New York. Oh, so that wouldn't have set him. Oh, right. Twin Towers weren't even built yet. Right. Yeah, the Twin Towers weren't built yet. Yeah, when King Kong, when, yeah, the movie King Kong, that didn't bother you? That did come out after 9-11. What? Okay. All right, thank you. All right, that's Dave. Yes, Sean. Just one.
Quick comment. I actually didn't know very much about this movie before we had the gentleman on. And now that I know it is set in New York, it has piqued my interest. And the fact that they have those two buildings that kind of look like the towers, I really want to see that now. And I would encourage everyone to go out and check out this movie just to see what this guy's talking about. Dave. Well, I don't know, Dave. That's counterproductive, Dave. It's not really what you were looking for. So I'll see everybody there this weekend. Dave, it looks like you're turning people on to the film, and that's not what you wanted to do. You wanted to turn people away from it, and I think it's having the opposite effect, Dave. And Dave, listen, who am I? to say how you should be doing radio interviews, for sure. I'm not a professional interviewee, and I just do the interviews, but I'm just going to make one suggestion, if I may. I would not use the word man. Every sentence. Every sentence, Dave. And the only reason I say that is, you know, it could be a question of credibility, maybe in the people taking you. Well, when you call...
Call the studio later today. Give it a try. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? When you call Paramount Pictures later on in the day, make sure to ask for Mr. Zuckerman. Wait. You know, do that and see. You know, it's up to you. To each his own. To each his own. Later, man. Dave Somerton. Hi, Dave. Very passionate man. Hey, man. Everyone's got their cause. He really believes in what he's doing. Dr. Phil's still in the bathroom handing out cologne and looking for tips. Oh, but I do have an email I'd like to read to everybody. Let's take a break and come back. We'll hear from Phil. Dr. Phil. Welcome back to the show. It is 7.58. No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood led the Oscar nominations this morning with eight nominations each. Phillip Rivers had surgery on his knee the week prior to the game this weekend and also has a torn ACL that he has to have surgery on. Oscar announcements were made earlier this morning and atonement got nominated for best picture. Never heard of it. Well, I've heard of it, but I certainly haven't seen it. Uh, Eddie, you haven't seen that one either. Uh,
And my favorite film director ever, Paul Thomas Anderson, got nominated for There Will Be Blood, which is almost three hours long. Eddie says it's out. It's out in theaters now, which I didn't know. I need to check my calendar and see what's going on on Saturday because I need to see that movie, man. Really bad. Welcome back to the show. I want to read you an email, see what you guys think about this. It says, Mikey and gang, I tried to listen yesterday, but when Boston Rob opened his mouth, even though it was rare, I'd get a sick feeling in my stomach, like I really wanted to do violence to him or anyone near me. What? I can relate. It says, I am a diehard Chargers fan and hate those pompous, idiotic Patriot fans. Oh, whatever. They are...
They are cheaters. They don't deserve to win anything. I will try and tune in today, but if Rob speaks, I may punch my radio. Thank you for listening. That's signed P1 Chargers for life. Wow. You know, I think that the best way to respond to someone's, you know, what is anger? We know what anger is, right? Right. It's hurt, sadness, fear. This guy could be all of those things. He's definitely angry. But here I am pontificating like I'm some kind of psychologist. What do I know? Today on Dr. Phil, I want you to get excited about your life. If you're going to talk to me, you're going to have to be honest. This is going to be a changing day in your life. Hey, Dr. Phil. How's everyone doing today? What's happening? Yeah, that's right. It's me, Phil McGraw, Dr. Phil. Well, thank you very much. You know, I've been taking a lot of heat in the media lately. Yeah, yeah. All this Britney stuff. But let me tell you something. I totally understand where this guy is coming from. As a matter of fact, I want to punch my TV these days with all the erroneous reports of how Dr. Phil handled the Britney Spears case. All that Dr. Phil wanted to do was help that Southern Fried disaster. Really, all Dr. Phil got in return was a butt whooping in the press. Yeah, you did. Deservedly so.
And then that scab, Brittany, started talking about her in a British accent. She does that. That's true. It's like I told one of my patients, Amy Winehouse, I said... That's one of your patients? She is, and I remember saying to her, Honey, you can't talk in a British accent to get attention. That's stupid. Amy Winehouse is, in fact, British. She's actually British. She's a British girl. That's her real voice. She talks. Oh. What's the matter? Oh, no. Dr. Phil prescribed her all those meds to help her with the accent. Oh, well, no. Dr. Phil? She's actually British. Dr. Phil screwed up. Why are you talking about yourself in a third person? That's really weird. I don't understand why you're doing that. It's because Dr. Phil is bigger than you and me now. No, wait. Hold on. What? Dr. Phil has become a brand. No. That's right. And if you go to drphil.com right now and sign up for the month of February, Dr. Phil will personally come to your hospital room and counsel you. That's ridiculous. I don't know that that's... You're not licensed to do that. It's just $19.99 a visit. That's $1,999. That's outrageous. It is, Eddie, but I will throw in a Dr. Phil throw pillow for every session you buy. That's pretty cool. That's extremely... Now back to the B-Rob thing. Yes.
He's an idiot. I don't say that. That is true. Those Boston fans are about as smart as Kelly Pickler in algebra class. What's the point? That's what I say. Rob has to go through life being a dwarf. Let the kid live a little vicarious. Five feet and a quarter. He's a little person. He'll never be a winner in life. So if his teams can pick up a few W's and... Give that punk a break for what he said. Probably true. It's funny because this whole thing this poor Charger fan wrote this morning is all upset and I understand that. It reminds me of a phone conversation I secretly taped once with my wife Robin. No, don't. Hey, man. You can't see stuff like that. Loud. This was back when we used to smuggle diamonds in her beehive. Wait, what? When was this? It was 1967, Eddie. Wow. That's weird. And I taped her phone conversations because I thought and still do think, no, actually, that her and Nikki Santoro were in cahoots with each other. Follow me here because I'm getting back to Rob. I'm getting back to Rob. You're losing me. Yeah. The whole diamond smuggling beehive thing. Let me explain here. Please. One day...
We were getting searched at LaGuardia coming back from Costa Rica, right? And I about passed a diamond myself because my butt cheeks were so tight. We made it through customs and we got home and I laid a little black cloth, made her shake her hair until all the diamonds fell out. And at that point she said that they'd all come out and I thought I was going to flip a freaking lid when she said that. And what I said to her was, I looked at her and I said, shake it again. And she insisted they'd all fallen out. And I refused to take no for an answer. So I said, really? And she shook that hair again. What do you know? Little old diamond came falling out. You know what I'm saying?
This was actually a move. And what happened actually was I gave her a little light slap for the effort and then we went down and watched a pass game. Point is, Rob's a loser. How did that inflate you? Sky, I just wanted to get that off my chest. Can you believe she thought I was going to buy there was no diamonds left in that head? You're still angry. This happened in the 60s. What are you thinking, Nikki, that I wasn't going to find out about it, that I wasn't going to ask him more questions about it? Now you're talking directly. I'm not dumb. I mean, I know y'all are going to save extra diamonds and then go sell them. Dr. Phil. Wow. To the letter, man. And I knew you were going to do it with Dominique because he's a fencer and I knew the whole time. Hey, wait. Nikki. This is bad. I'm so sorry, y'all. I got sidetracked there. Yeah, you did. A little. Now, many times eruptions of anger can come from misunderstandings or inaccurate information. Let's quickly check the points of this email for accuracy, all right? Point number one, Boston Rob rarely opens his mouth during the show. Accurate. True. That's true. Point number two, when he did, he did a P1 sick to his stomach. We can definitely call that accurate, all right? Okay. That's true. Point number three, one wanted to do violence to B-Rob or anyone nearby.
Nothing wrong there. Point number four, pompous, idiotic Patriot fans. Irrefutable. Point number five, they're cheaters. Not even the Patriots can deny that. And finally, point number six, they don't deserve to win. Well, y'all, that's what you call 100% accurate. Wow, that's pretty good. Well, aren't a couple of those things opinions? No, I think they're all pretty much facts. In fact, only a hothead would argue. Well, I don't know. What are you saying? Speaking of bean town, what the hell kind of messed up throat tattoo logic is that anyway? That's a good question. What are you saying, Dr. Phil? Want to make something of it? I'll tell you what there, tough guy. Why don't we just cut out the middle man and call it fart town? Now, let's see. The windy... The Windy City's taken. And did somebody step on a Duckville is just too awkward. Fart Town it is. Welcome to Fart Town, population idiots. I'm Dr. Phil. Thank you so much. Hello? Who's the man? Mikey? Hello? Never called in before, but I love your show and you guys rock. Oh, that's awesome.

You're still going to need it. Right now, the Southbound 5 is still suffering out of La Costa and the Solana Beach. South 15 has improved quite a bit out of Escondido. Still a bit of a delay through Rancho Bernardo. The Westbound 56, though, that's been a tough ride here. Coming out of Rancho Panosquitos from Community del Sur for a slow ride all the way through Carmel Valley to the 5 freeway. Westbound 8, still a bit tight from Jackson Drive towards Lake Murray. Then again at the 805.
The King Freeway, West 994, that's looking much better. Just a brief delay at the 805 and then a minor slowdown in the downtown. And things are improving slowly out of the South Bay. Things are looking much better, though, on the 805 northbound. A little bit tight around, you know, Division 47th Street. A minor delay through North Park. But then you will find the heavy traffic still coming out of Kearney Mesa over the 52. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Casting from Wireless Studios, OC San Diego. Back to the Mikey Show, featuring Mikey. It is not until you get to know me that you realize I'm completely self-absorbed. Eddie. I like my sandwich the way I like my sandwich. Sky. Thank you, don't doubt the news, girl. Sean. I'm actually pissed off. Boston Rob. I'm the token Boston guy on the shelf. That's right. Every show should happen. And Ashley. You make a compelling argument. I'm a compelling person. On Rock 105.3. Welcome back, it's 814. The Navy is warning that a malfunctioning...
Wow. Tiger Woods says the anchor meant no harm with the Lynch comment, and he's okay with it. So guess what we have just been informed. Well, first of all, everyone knows that our very own Ashley is going to be on American Idol tonight. Box 6, 8 o'clock. And they've been using her in the promos. Crazy. I mean, dude. A whole week. All week long. They started using her in the promo at the end of the show last week on Wednesday, right? Right. Then they showed her all day Sunday during the playoffs, during the Green Bay Giants game. They're showing her all during the playoffs. American Idol, American Idol. And there's Ashley. This morning, if you have it on Fox 6. And this is nationally, not just here in the country. Nationally, the national promo for American Idol shows Ashley.
Now tonight when you watch American Idol, you're going to see her, but they're going to call her Sarah because that's her real name and they wouldn't let her go by the alias that she goes by on this show, which is Ashley. Which, by the way, I never intended for. Her name was going to be Sarah, but I wasn't allowed to call her Sarah. She was coming from another radio station and the boss at that radio station said, you can have her, but you can't call her Sarah. Stupid. I thought it was terrible. And so I called her Ashley. And so, oh, I wish they would let her be called Ashley on American Idol night, but they're going to call her Sarah. It's her stage name. Why wouldn't they let her? I know it. I know it. I'm more used to Ashley. You should have brought me to the auditions. I would have fought for you. That's right. You could have been her advocate. Yeah. Well, anyway, we just got word that Fox 6 would like to interview Ashley after American Idol tonight, live on television, on Channel 6 tonight. Wow.
And, Shawnee, I know you're there. I was going to say, could Sean get the audio? But he's in the Bay Area. We'll set the TiVo. You set the TiVo and do it that way? Oh, yeah, here. Yeah, we'll set the TiVo for both shows. Yeah, yeah, yeah. For Idol and for the news. So there you go. So Ashley's going to be on tonight. Man, guys. During the show. Wow, you're quite a celebrity. Look at you. Eddie, are you writing us down? I got you. Don't worry. I'll make sure you're there on time. Just let me know where I need to be and when. Okay, I'll have the driver pick you up. Thank you. I can't wait. So tonight she's on American Idol then. Just don't use that voice on TV. Well, wait a minute. Now, Eddie, I'm confused. What? Shut up! Well, is she going to, is she going to be on, because it says that right after American Idol is house. Right. So is she going to be on. The news at 10. Okay, the news at 10. Yeah. Okay, got it. So let me tape that. Record this showing. Got it. So we're all set to tape, Ashley. Nice.
On American Idol and on Fox News afterwards. Ashley, are you nervous? For which part? Well, I mean, you don't have to be nervous for the American Idol part. That already happened. Yeah, but I'm extremely nervous. If I can speak for my client, she's nervous about how they're going to portray her through the editing process, Mike. What she's concerned about is that she considers herself a pretty good singer. Well, just listen. This is a horn. It's free.
It's so good. Was that Jonathan Davis or was that... I can't tell. It was Korn. Thank you. And so what she's nervous about is, hey, I'm a good singer, but I'm kind of concerned they're going to make me in to look like not a good singer. Yeah, I just don't... It seems as though they're portraying me as like this female William Hung, which that throws off my entire image. What's up with that, right? Yeah, I mean, I just don't... We can work around it. This isn't her tone. Sounding a little peculiar on that one. Well, that's not her tone. That's not loud. There's a particular tone that she likes to stay. It's her comfort tone. Ash, can you tell us what you're saying? Are you allowed to tell us what you're saying? Oh, gosh. I just don't even want to risk any of it because I just don't know anything. I just know that I'm not supposed to talk about any of it. We'll be playing all the audio back tomorrow morning. Yeah, I just don't know. I can't wait. I cannot wait.
Eddie and Sean, the two resident movie fans. You guys, people that are movie fans. Women, for whatever reason, you can get a room of 100 women and you can say, have you seen the movie Apocalypse Now? And maybe one or two women will raise their hand. And it's only because a man made them watch the movie. Have you seen it, Sky? Have you ever seen the movie Apocalypse Now? How about you, Ashley? Nope. Never seen Apocalypse Now. It may be my favorite film of all time. It may have replaced... That's hard. Over Alien? Say what? Over Alien? Over Alien? That was never my favorite. What are you talking about? It was never my favorite. Alien was never my favorite. My favorite movies were always... My favorite film director is Paul Thomas Anderson. And... And so I love Paul Thomas Anderson with Boogie Nights, Punch Drunk Love, Magnolia, my favorite movies. And now I've got to go see this There Will Be Blood. But the movie Apocalypse Now, to me, is an amazing movie. And so my wife could care less, doesn't want to see it, and doesn't care. Okay, I understand. She's a woman, right? The idea, the plot. This rap that I'm about to do with you is going to take about two minutes. Bear with me. Okay.
Because I'm telling you, ladies, I'm getting somewhere and you're going to think this is interesting too. Guys, you're going to love it, but girls, I think you'll think it's interesting too. So the plot is that, Ashley, are you with me? Okay. The plot is there's a dude who's gone crazy and is fighting. It's the Vietnam War is where it takes place. Okay? It takes place in the Vietnam War era. And in Vietnam, a guy's gone nuts and he's decided that he is going to fight the war. by himself, and he's going to use natives from the jungle. Because he's crazy. And he's a former colonel, right? He's a colonel, yeah. He's a colonel. His name is Colonel Kurtz. Okay? And Martin Sheen's character's name is Captain Willard. And Captain Willard is brought in by the military to go assassinate him. Okay. Because he's gone nuts. I like it. And so that's the whole plot of the movie. Now, I'm obsessed with this film.
So I got this soundtrack and I got the movie and I got the making of the movie and I just got this book called Notes. And it's Eleanor Coppola, his wife, who was there with him when he was making it. And she kept a gabillion notes that she wrote on little pieces of paper. And the notes were for herself. She was making a documentary on the making of the movie Apocalypse Now. Okay, you with me, Ash? Yep. Okay. So what happened was she took all of these notes. And she printed them in a book. And I'm going to read you the very first couple of things. Before the book even starts, they put this in here to grab you so that you'll be interested in the book, okay? I think you'll find this interesting. So you know who Kurtz is, right? And you know who Willard is. Kurtz is the nutty guy. Willard's the guy that's got to go get him. Telephone calls November 1975 to February 1976. Steve McQueen says the script is great, but the part of Willard is not really right for him.
Francis says he will come down to Malibu and talk about rewriting the part for him. Francis Ford Coppola, the director. Wow. Ten days later, Steve McQueen says he feels much better about the part. It's really a good script, but he can't leave the country for 17 days because his wife can't take her son out of the country and his other son is graduating from high school. The next day, Francis calls Brando. He doesn't answer. Francis talks to Brando's agent who says that he is not interested in the part and doesn't want to talk about it. Wow. The same day, Francis talks to Al Pacino, tells him he's sending the script, discusses an interesting new approach to the character. Later, Al has read the script and talks for hours about the part of Willard, what a great script it is, how he sees the part, but concludes with the realization that he can't do it because he wouldn't be able to stand 17 weeks in the jungle. They remember how sick Al got in a few weeks in the Dominican Republic during Godfather Part 2. Next letter. Next note. Francis talks to McQueen's agent and offers him the part of Kurtz, which is only for three weeks. Next note. McQueen's agent says that Steve will do it, but that he wants the same money as for 17 weeks, $3 million, because the film will earn it back in foreign sales anyway. Next note. Francis calls James Caan, offers him the part of Willard, 17 weeks at $1.25 million. Next note. Jimmy's agent says that he wants $2 million. Next note.
Francis offers Jimmy's agent $1.25 million again. Next note. Jimmy turns it down. Also says his wife is pregnant and doesn't want to have her baby in the Philippines. Next note. Francis offers the Willard part to Jack Nicholson's agent. The agent turns it down for Jack because the film will conflict with Jack directing a film. Next note. Francis calls Robert Redford, who has finally read the script and thinks it's great. He likes the Kurtz part but can't consider the Willard part because... His film is not finished, and he has promised his family that he won't leave for a long vacation for the rest of the year. Next note. Francis cancels his offers to Steve McQueen. Next note. Francis calls Jack Nicholson's agent and offers him the Kurtz part. Next note. Francis talks to a casting director to set up calls in New York for unknown actors to play the Willard part. Next note. Jack's agent calls back. Jack says no to the Kurtz part. Next note. Francis is back from New York. having talked to Al about playing Kurtz and rewriting the part for him. Al says the part isn't right for him yet. Francis says that he needs a commitment from Al before he can continue writing because the production date is closing in. Al says, sorry, he can't commit. Francis says, trust me, together we can make it great. Al finally says, no, I can't commit. Wow. Francis feels, next note, Francis feels very frustrated.
he gathered up all his Oscars and threw them out the window. What? The children are picking them up in pieces in the backyard. Oh my gosh. Four of the five are broken. Wow. Next note, Brando's agent calls Francis and says Brando wants to see him. Next note, Francis sets up a casting call for unknown actors in Los Angeles. Holy cow. So who ends up in the park? Brando. And it's nuts. First of all, the whole story of the making of the movie is that it was supposed to take three months. It almost took like a year. And during the making of it, Francis Ford Coppola started to go crazy. He started to kind of lose his mind. Really? Yeah. You've got to watch the documentary on it because it's amazing. But anyway, Brando is supposed to play the part of this. guy that's gone crazy and is got all these natives and he's fighting the war on his own right so when you picture a colonel when you picture a colonel in the military what do you picture like physically like describe what that would look like fit older gentleman tall buzz cut brando was massively fat and he told them that he would get in shape like when he took the part he said he'll get in shape for it he'll be in shape
He shows up. He shows up fat. And Coppola's like, with everything going on, and now you're here and you're fat. Like, what do I do? So when you watch the movie, they shoot him in light where you can only see his face, his head. I mean, dude, it's crazy. And he said that this was something that they show in the making of. you know the movie was going over and it was taking too long so they hire Brando to play the part of Kurtz and they're not ready for him yet like he said I'll be you know I'll commit to you like in the month of June or whatever but in June they're not ready so it's like September and as June is coming and you know about to go Coppola tells Brando's people we're not ready yet and they call back and say then he's not going to do the part, and he's keeping the million-dollar advance that you get. Dude. He's not doing it if you're over time, and he's keeping his million dollars. Wow. It's almost like a movie within the movie. This stuff is so interesting. Dude, that thing about him taking his Oscars and throwing them out the window because he's upset, and the kids are in the backyard picking up pieces of Oscars. It's crazy.
So I wonder if they're still jacked up or they replaced them. I know it. That's interesting. I would love to ask Coppola, did you get replacements? I'm sure you can't. I don't know. Can you call them and say, hey, I threw mine out the window. Can I get a new one? Can I get a couple of new ones? That's crazy. I would love to talk to all those actors that passed on those roles and be like, what do you think? So good. This guy's got new releases. Is there going to be a Stone Temple Pilots reunion? What's a P1? Someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to the Mikey Show exclusively. That is correct. The first month is free. I mean, there's all kinds of cool benefits to doing this. Nice. Yeah, you got to get down there to Cricket. Sky, what's the website? It's mycricket.com slash San Diego. Ashley is on American Idol tonight and then interviewed on the news at 10 o'clock after American Idol. So it'll go American Idol, the TV show House, and then the news. Ashley will be on the news. And so you've got to make sure you watch that. And she's going to be going by the name Sarah.
And the reason? Because that's her real name. And they wouldn't let her use her nom de prime, which is Ashley. They wouldn't let her do that. We'll do the new releases in a little bit. In fact, let's save new releases for next break. Is there going to be, Sky, a Stone Temple Pilots reunion? Well... If you believe Scott Weiland, then yeah, I guess so. Scott Weiland was recently, I guess, in Miami and told the Miami Herald to watch out for a reunion of the Stone Temple Pilots in the coming months. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Can you imagine? I didn't think those guys would do it again, but apparently if they think that there might be some dough in it. It seems so weird. I mean, he's in Velvet Revolver, which is a pretty big band. And, like, there's really no reason for a Stone Temple reunion. It's cool, but... Does that make you guys think maybe something's up with Velvet Revolver? Maybe. Yeah. Are things bad? I don't know. I don't know. Seems, like, weird. Weird timing. If you're in Velvet Revolver, are you cool with that? Are you like, all right, cool, man. Maybe they are. I don't know. I wouldn't be. I wouldn't either. I'd say, hey, you're not in that band anymore. But anyway, that's what he's saying. And so, Ashley, did you load me the...
Guess That Jingle Open. Yeah, everything is up and labeled for you. We're playing a new game and it's called Guess That Jingle. Ashley, well, asked if you would get Flounder to a jingle form. No, no, no. No, I didn't say. No, no, no. I didn't say. You asked me. I asked you to get a jingle. No, no, no. You asked me. No, no. I asked you if you would get an open for the game. Personally sing. No, no, no. Yeah, because remember yesterday when you called me and you were like, hey, Ash, you know what? Why don't you just go ahead and do the open? I didn't say that. Because American Idol and with your singing, it would be appropriate. Flounder just sent me an instant message. What did he say? He said that he did record. He said that he recorded both.
And his is in the system. Yeah, but his... Ashley, can you please... Yeah, but his was not up to par, Mike. Wait. Can you put his in for me? That's all our opens. No, I understand that, but just with everything going on this week, and I listened to it over. What do you mean, everything going on this week? With my singing career taking off this week. I understand. I just thought maybe you guys would request that from now on sing the jingles. Here is... Here is the regular version. Let's hear Ashley's again. Well, Guess That Jingle is going to be good times. Here is how you play Guess That Jingle. Call me right now, 570-1053 and any one of us.
that live here in San Diego, no jingles. All right? And so all you got to do is call us right now, 570-1053. We're going to tell you what the company is, and all you got to do is sing their jingle. Oh, that's pretty easy. It's really easy. And we were doing it back in the office. That was fun. Yeah, and we were able to do it real good. 570-1053. What do we got for a prize? We got some movie passes for them. It's real sweet. P1 Melissa. Hey. Got some movie passes for you if you can do this. Cool. Can you sing me the jingle to Mossy Nissan? Oh, that's easy. Do it. Mossy, Mossy Nissan moves you. Mossy Nissan. Yeah. Mossy Nissan. Mossy Nissan. Mossy Nissan. Mossy Nissan moves you. Be quiet. It gets in your head. Mossy Nissan. Thank you. Mossy Nissan.
All right. Thank you, Ashley. And Melissa, you're a winner. Stop it. Hang on the line. P1 William, are you there? I'm here. William Hung. Shut up. All right. I'm going to give you the company, and you've got to sing me their jingle. Are you ready? Yeah. Give me the jingle for K Jewelers. K Jewelers. Oh, I know this one. Oh. You're going to kick yourself when you hear it, bro. Yep. Give me one sec, K-Jewish. I tell you what, I'm going to help you out. This is what I'm going to do. I'm not going to give you the words. I'll give you the melody, and if you can give me the words with the melody, then you're a winner. You ready? Yeah. Da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Every kiss begins with K. Every kiss begins with K. There you go, bro.
Very well done. Hang on the line, okay? Thank you. I know it. All you got to hear is the da-da-da. And you know it. It's really good. P1 Jason. Hey, what's going on? Not too much, dude. Are you ready to play? Let's do it. Give me the jingle for In-N-Out. In-N-Out. Yes. In-N-Out. That's what hamburgers are all about. Next up, P1 Erica. Erica, are you there? Yes, sir. All right, you ready to play? I think so. All right, this one's a little tougher, but I think you can do it. Aw. Give me the jingle, too. King Stallman, Bail Bonds. Oh, yeah. Okay, hold on. Oh, it's there, but it's not there. I'll give you the melody. Okay. Oh, it's better to know me than to meet me. It's better to something. Oh, hold on. It's so close. Hold on. Yeah, it's like...
It's better to know me. And I need me. It's better to need me. And something else. King Stallman. Very well done. Nice. Very well done. You are a winner. Hang on. Let's go to the movie. We got the top celebrity products out there in 07, Eddie. Is that the deal? Yes. In the year 2007, what were the top celebrity products out there? Talk about that. Coming up. And don't forget, Boston Rob's song is going to drop. It's Hammond. Yeah. It's called Hammond. Oh, creative. Yeah, well, Sky sang it. I did not. It's to the tune of Bob Marley's Jammin'. Coming up. Have you? It makes sense. Then get off my case and go green. Yeah. This is the thing I've always said about liberal politics. Personally. Do as I say and let me wipe as I wipe. Wait, that's not the same. Do as I say. Do as I say not as I wipe. That is their saying. Do as I say not as I wipe. The Rock said that last night. That's right. As I wipe. Tom Brady has been seen walking around in a walking cast. Oh, no. That can't be good. Trouble in paradise. I'm glad he's screening phone calls. Hey, Eddie, do we know what the deal was with LT not going back in the game on Sunday? Yeah, you know, I got to tell you, I'm really bummed out.
At the hits that LT is taking in the media. I mean, people questioning his toughness. You know, like saying that his legacy is a little bit tarnished. Why? Because he didn't play hurt. Which, you know, it's really infuriating to me that somebody would say that. Nobody knows the extent of his injury. Right. You know? Only he knows. Right. So, you know, it's really disappointing. But he talks about it yesterday. Cut 38. You know, like I said, most people, you know, it's four weeks. I try to play in one week. You know, I try to tough it out. But, you know, it just wouldn't allow me. It wouldn't allow me to do anything. So, you know, it's just disappointing. My thinking also was 100% Michael Turner and Darren Sproles is way better than 50% me. You know what, man? I want him to make it worse. That's the deal. I don't want it to be made worse. If he went out there, played. re-injured it to the point of where it was, let's say, a torn MCL or torn ACL. And, I mean, that's a year to two-year comeback for the guy. Do we really want that? I mean, it was an important game and a game that we really needed him in. But he's right. We did have a guy named Michael Turner. Right. That's why we brought him back. Right. For that specific reason. And, you know, if LT wasn't 100%,
I'm okay with him not playing. Yeah, it freaks me out, man, to have guys out there when they can make something worse. We all know what it's like. If you're starting to get sick and then you go do stuff that makes you more sick, you shouldn't do that. You're going to make it worse. Well, speaking of, Phillip Rivers, apparently he had surgery on his knee the week prior to the game. He had, like, some torn cartilage cleaned up. And it does look like he has a torn ACL and is going to have to have surgery for that. Oh, wow. But he says there's just no way he wasn't going to miss the game. That's cut 37. You know, I wasn't going to miss this game unless, obviously, there's no way I could go. And, you know, that's part of being a leader is you've got to be able to play through some injuries and, obviously, be there for the guys. But, you know... I appreciate the fact that they're singling me out. There's a lot of guys out there that were playing hurt and have played hurt all year. That's one thing I am. From the old linemen to the receivers to the backs, the whole team, we've got a great group of guys. It's fun to play with, and that's why it even hurts so much more when you lose a game like that.
I'm just glad he's going to have this offseason to be able to heal that thing up. For sure. And I'm also glad for him that he was able to kind of shut up his critics. Because they were a really honest case the couple weeks he was playing in the playoffs. And the fact that he went out there, gutted it out, played like a champ, and played a great game too. Injured. I think he shut a lot of people up, so that's cool too. A couple of things. We've got new releases coming up here in just a second. New video games, new CDs, new... DVDs are out today. They come out on Tuesday, so we'll tell you that. And also, we're going to be premiering. Boss and Rob's new song is going to drop here in just a second. It's called Hammond. It's sung by Sky. Sky sang it. That's cool. It's a parody to the song Jammin' by Bob Marley. Good job, Sky. Yeah, it was a really good job. Can't wait to hear it, Sky. I love the way you sang it. She said she didn't sing it. We'll do that in a little bit. P1 Garbage Plate is on the line. Must be from Rochester, New York. Am I right? Yes, sir. That's right, because you go to Nick Tahoser in Rochester, New York. Hell yeah, I just went there this Christmas. Okay. Love you guys. It's garbage! Thank you. What do you got, man? Hey, my problem with LT isn't the fact that he didn't play the game. You know, you can't play.
It's the fact that he sat on the sideline and, you know, he looked like he was just pouting. He didn't get up and help his team, get them motivated. You couldn't even see his face, bro. Every time I saw him, he had his helmet on with a visor. I never saw him pouting. Well, he was sitting there. Go back to the Giants-Dallas game. Our cornerback... Wait, wait, wait, hang on. Time out, time out. We're talking about the Patriot-Chargers game. Right. And I didn't see LT sitting on the sideline pouting. Maybe I missed it, dude. I don't know. You're right. 100% right. He had his helmet on the whole time. But I just, you know, what would you have done? I would have been devastated if I wouldn't have been able to play in the AFC Championship game. All the talk coming up to that game was LT was just, he was so excited, happy to be able to chance to be part of history and to realize that after a couple carries, my knee's not working right. I would have been devastated. I get you being devastated. Devastated, but you're part of a team. You're a team leader, and that team is playing. What is he going to do? Cheerlead? Yes, like the rest of the guys who aren't on the field. Stand there, clap, encourage, scream. Do what the other guys are doing. I see exactly. That's such a trip, man. I can see it exactly both. One part of me says, what are you supposed to do? You're a human being.
I love people that are genuine and don't fake it, and so I love that LT is being LT. On the other hand, I'm like, man, it's hard to argue. It's hard to argue the point. You've got to be a team player, and what you should be doing is don't think about yourself right now. Just think about your teammates. I'm equally sold on both. I don't know, man. I guess it sounds like you're of the latter philosophy. Yeah, I think as a leader and a teammate, you've got to get out there and get them motivated. Well, he's a jerk then. He deserves all this criticism. He's a terrible player and a terrible person. Give me a break. He's earned whatever he wants to do. He can do whatever he wants. I have to agree with that. I love LT. I love him. I love him too, but I love him. Because he's a good guy. He is not a big baby. That's not fair. No, no. But I love him because he's a good guy. So the reason I was shocked when I watched it because I wouldn't expect that from him. Like, he'd be the last person I would expect that from. What did he do that was so wrong? He wasn't being a team player. That's what Rude Dog's saying, too. Rude Dog, are you there? Yes, I am. What's up? Hey, I'm just surprised that you guys aren't being, how can I say, more critical of LT for what he did. Because if that was any other player on any other team...
You would criticize them for not being a team player, not cheering on their team. And maybe, I'm going to think about that, but I think you could be right. I guess I take into consideration that we know what kind of guy LT is. I will never criticize that guy. Nothing's in question on my part. LT is a great guy. I give you that. But should he not have been up there cheering for his team as being the great guy he is? I mean, I guess it's like this. It's like these people. I'm sorry, Mike. I didn't think you were watching me. That was really bad. What's going on? Oh, I wish we had a camera. That was so bad. I'm so sorry. What are you eating? I'm eating a tangerine. Oh, dude. I look over at Skye and all of a sudden I see her go and spit out a little seed. What the hell? Gross. My bad. Anyway, I don't know, man. I guess it sounds to me like it's like somebody goes, you know what? I donate $100. And somebody's like, you should donate $110. Like, what a jerk you are. Like, the guy gives everything he's got. And people are like, well, he should have given more. And he should have done this. And he should have done that.
No, no, dude. No, no, I don't. I think to myself, you know what, man? The guy's knee was jacked up, and so probably the best place for him was to be sitting down, not standing up cheering. What do you want him doing? Pyramids? Being tossed in the air by a couple of guys? I mean, give me a break. Cheering. Not standing up. What do you think, bro? Do you think that his teammates were like... Man, I really wish LT were cheering for me right now. We would have won if LT would have cheered. Only LT was on the sideline cheering me on. These are grown men. They're professionals. They don't need LT if they're cheering. If we need LT to be a cheerleader, we got more problems than torn ACLs. Hey, is that what you guys are going to say about another player on another team? No, because they haven't earned it. LT's earned my respect. I'm not going to criticize anybody. I'm not going to criticize him. You're not going to hear it out of my mouth. That's me. he could have been more enthusiastic about his team being where he's at. Whether or not he was a part of it anymore, he could have been more enthusiastic about it. That's all I'm saying. I agree. I'm trying to picture if, let's say, it's the Giants and Brandon Jacobs tears his ACL and he's sitting on the sideline. If I see Brandon Jacobs sitting on the sideline, I really don't care about it. Not at all. Who cares? I'm not sitting, I'm not as a, and I could care less about the Giants.
I'm not going to be sitting here going, I can't believe that Brandon Jacobs isn't doing a... Give me a G! Give me an I! If it's a guy like T.O., if it's a guy like T.O., he's... proven that he's a selfish guy and a selfish player and he deserves criticism because he brings it on himself. LT doesn't deserve this criticism. He's earned the right to do whatever he wants. He's shown you again and again and again that he's a team player. And I think that's why it stands out to people because he is like always the cream of the crop. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't know anything about football, but if you're on a team, I don't care how good you are. You don't deserve to be better than the rest of the players and you don't deserve to do whatever you want just because you're the best part of it. I don't care who it is. I don't care who got injured. If they're sitting on the bench, that's where they want to sit. Not only that, but the guy is hurt. No one said he needs to stand up, but what I would have liked to see is him there in a beanie or whatever so you can see his face, him communicating with the other players, him cheering them on.
Because to me, that means he's still in the game. And that doesn't make you feel like it's one of those examples of, man, it's like, it has to be like that. Like, you need to be doing exactly. And if you do it this way, then we will appreciate you. And if you do it less than that. No, we're not saying we don't appreciate him. It's just out of character and it kind of sucked to see. We're saying we don't. What you guys are saying is, I don't appreciate what he did. No one's saying that. Oh, appreciating what he did in that tiny little instant. Sitting there. Yeah. That kind of sucks. Oh, man. You guys are tough. It's not easy. It's not easy. That was LT saying that right now. P1 Josh? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? I heard that on a sports talk radio station that they knew people from CBS that were on the sidelines saying that LT was actually trying to work out his knee, trying to get back on the field and cheering on his teammates. But the cameramen, of course, are just going to find the opportune time to show him sitting on the bench. Yeah, I mean, it wouldn't surprise me. Yeah, we weren't there. It wouldn't surprise me. God forbid we give the best player, classiest player in football the benefit of the doubt. No kidding. He's earned it. I just don't get it.
That's terrible. It really upsets me because that guy is so awesome. He's done so much for this community, so much for this team. We'd be nowhere without the guy. The Chargers just voted him their MVP, so obviously the teammates like him. Who are we to sit there and criticize LT? Well, I think that P1 Dan agrees with you. In fact, he says, hey, let's criticize Rivers. Okay. I'm right there, Mikey. I think you need to go after Rivers. This guy's only been in the league for three years, and he's already got two bum knees. Hang on. Hang on a second. Let me get a pen. I'm going to write down. Let's get a criticize list here. Now, I'm going to mark off LT. We don't want to criticize him. Oh, we already got that done. We already got that done. Okay, so Rivers. So we're going to criticize Rivers. Let me ask you, is there anybody else we should go? What about Gates? I know that he had to go into the locker room at one point because he had a, you know, Oh, should we criticize Gates? Oh, sure. Gates is going above and beyond. Okay, so not Gates. Play with a torn ACL. We're not criticizing Gates. Gates is okay. This offseason, we need to go in and get a quarterback. Okay, but who do we... Eddie just took his headphones off. Eddie, don't walk out. Don't walk out. Hang on a minute. Maybe he'll take it back. He took a championship.
Enough, Eddie. Eddie, hang on a second. I'm just going to throw this out there, Eddie. Maybe we spend our first round draft pick on a quarterback. Maybe we can find somebody in free agency. What do you mean? No, no, no. He's going to be garbage in two years. He's done. What? Oh, my God. What? Why do you say that? showing what great fans we are, Charger fans. Now, wait a minute. Didn't I say it the other day when that guy called and he said, you know, you guys are not very good fans. I said, no, wait a minute. We're terrible fans. When we're winning, we're great. When we're losing, we're the worst. We're that guy. If Rivers was a horse, I mean... Because players don't ever get injured in football and don't come back. Yeah, if Rivers were a horse, we would be putting up a big blinders right now so that we could put him down with nobody seeing it. I don't even know what to say. Unbelievable. I don't even know what to say. I'm humiliated. I'm humiliated. Shame on you, San Diego. Shame on you. Come on. You won brutal. Are you there? Go ahead, man.
Man, I'm getting sick of hearing all these little sissies talking about football players. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Now, let me ask you. I bet you've played football, right? Yeah, I played for 15 years. Yeah, you're no sissy. Yeah, so, dude, how much does it kill you to hear these guys calling in going, I think that, you know. LT should have gone out there and played. I love to get out on the football field and hurt their knee and let them get back out there and play again when they're hurt. Wow. her knees the whole nine yards. Tell him. Half these guys are sissing anyway and haven't even ever played again. Go for it, dude. Yeah. Yell at those guys. I think we should dislocate Rob's toe. See if he can go out there and play. Go ahead. Go ahead. Yell at him. Go ahead. If they would have won, they'd have been like, oh, LT sat on the bench and we did it without him and it's a good thing he sat on the sidelines and yada, yada, yada. Get off his back, man. Yeah. He might be coming. He might be coming. Yeah. Wow. Wow. You can say that again. That's right. The guy's obviously upset. What do you want from the guy? He's upset.
That's right. That's right. Don't open your mouth. That's right. You know what I'm saying? Yes, I do. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. That's right. Finally, somebody had the rocks. See, he was cheering. That's right. Let's see. P1 Chris, are you there? Yeah. Go ahead, Chris. Hey, Mike, man. This thing here, these quote-unquote Charger fans coming through, blasting LT. Do they remember what it was like before we had LT? So true. Do they remember that? LT, as we like to call it? It's so true. Like, here they are blasting him. Hello? No, dude. I'm listening. I agree. I agree with you 100%. They're blasting him. They don't even remember what it was like. I'm like, okay, I was here for the 94-inch day. I was there, and then all of a sudden, it was nothing but darkness after that. Give the guy a break. Why don't we applaud the Patriots over there for beating a less than 50% Charger team? I agree, dude. I agree. Hey, listen. I mean, this guy is the class of the league. He's the best player in football. Dan Dierdorf said, it's hard to believe he's a better person than he is a football player, and he's the best player in football. After Tom Brady. Not even close. You are such a nutcase. You're an after Tom Brady.
That doesn't stop him from being the greatest NFL player ever. 50 thrown touchdowns in one season? Come on. He'll leave as many babies as he wants. Just because the guy has no character doesn't mean he isn't. And he's a Yankee fan. All your babies. Focus on the game. We're just getting in the way. Fraternity shmurnity. You guys want to hear Hammond? No. Yes, please. Too much right now. Sky singing Hammond? Yes. She loves Hamm. The girl loves Hammond. It's true. When we come back, we'll play her new song. It's to the tune of Jammin' by Bob Marley, and Sky sings it. Nice. I like Hamm. That's next. You guys make my morning so much better, I swear to God. This is The Monkey Show. I appreciate that, dude. That's very nice of you to say. Rock 105.3.

LT is a gentleman and my hero and anybody that criticizes him is an idiot. A couple things. Ashley is on American Idol tonight on Fox 6 at 8 o'clock. After that at 10 o'clock at night you're going to see her on the news being interviewed live. In their studios at Fox 6. Blog it up. That's right. As you know, B-Rob is a recording artist. True that. Every couple of weeks, he'll drop something new. You know it. Singer slash writer slash producer. That is true. A couple of weeks ago, he gave us the fart song. Really good. Hopefully for a Grammy on that one. That's true. And of course, on the European B-side import, there was the Churro song.
And so that hit the states a couple of weeks after the fart song, and we played both of those. And you can see them appear both on the Billboard charts as fart slash churro. But Boston Rob has, as you know, in addition to being a singer, he is also a songwriter. He is, in fact, a singer-songwriter. And he's written a new song. Sky was gracious enough to... Record it. It was tough to get her in there, though. Yeah. Remember that scene in E.T. where Elliot has to put the little Reese's pieces down? What did you have to put down? I had to put little pieces of ham down, and I made a trail all the way into the recording studio. Once I got her in there, I just closed the door behind it. Honey baked. Now, this is to the tune of Bob Marley's Jammin', right? There you go. How dare all of you. Here's my favorite. I'm super. It tastes so price with your trivial lives. I bid you hams haming. College I took after smoking the grass. Not a fan of the cow to the expector. Sing some of this stuff. It's pretty good. Love me some ham. One's loves crazy. Well, I love ham. It is. It's a... Good job, Scott. Great job, Scott. Do you have two hams in your bra? Wow. Wow.
No, that doesn't even make sense. Ham is more precious than gold. She says it right there in the song. She loves ham. She loves ham. It's her Achilles heel. It is. I like ham. Let me tell you something. If she's about to attack, just whip out a honey baked. Get it. Toss it to the side and run. That's right. Yeah, because people carry around honey bakes. Oh, yes, ham. Protection against you. You know, when... She walks into a honey-baked store. All the honey-baked hams freeze, and they say, be still. She can't see you if you move. The sight is based on movement. Yeah, yeah. The sight is based on movement. And glaze. I like ham. There it is. Ladies and gentlemen, I hope you enjoyed. Fantastic. Scarlett Johansson's off the market, Eddie. She could be. She could be. That's the word we're getting. Eddie, calm down. You don't have to lie. It's a word we're getting. It's a lie. Eddie, calm down. You know a gentleman by the name Ryan Reynolds? Oh, I know that tool. Oh, wait. How did Zanis Morissette? No, they were engaged. They were engaged. They never got married. How do you go from Alanis to Scarlett? Seriously? They're like identical, like twin sisters. Right. Can you imagine Alanis Morissette? Oh, let me tell you something. With all the issues that Alanis has, can you imagine how crazy it must make her that he went from her to young, beautiful,
breasted Scarlett Johanna. That must be... Talk about it. I smell a song. Yeah, I smell a song too. There could be a song out of this one. In fact, she writes stuff about all her exes. They all pay for it in a song. Very true. So, yeah, that's what a lot of the newspapers back east are reporting, but her rep, Scarlett's rep, says that is not true. Really? Of course it's not true. They always say it's not true, though. Yeah, they always say that, and then they turn up, like, pregnant and married. Mm-hmm. Jason Priestley says that he intends to race in the Indianapolis 500. So... Uh... What? But... I say go for it, Brent. Oh. I saw that episode. You can't just say you're gonna do something... Right. ...that happens. What's so weird about it, too, is that... Like, we know that he does this, like, for fun. That he races like for fun. But he doesn't race for fun in like serious stuff. Right. Oh, he did. And don't you need like a team and a sponsor and all that stuff? Yeah, it says the Rubicon race team will be managed by the former general manager of Kelly Racing. Yeah, but Jason Priestley in all previous races has raced against like Dave Coulier. Those are the people that he's in races with.
Well, they say his career was almost sidelined back in Kentucky of 2002. I heard he beat Lisa Gibbons once. I heard that, too. Yes, he did. He beat Lisa Gibbons. He did beat her, handle it. When he slammed into a wall at 180. Alan Thicke. Yes, raised Alan Thicke. Cisco. Julio. Gotta start somewhere. Dana Plato years ago. It was years ago. It was before the stuff. But anyway... I digress. Another big story out there is that apparently Penelope Cruz lost her camera. She says it's been stolen, and they said if anybody publishes what you find on that memory card, if you publish what you find on that memory card, our people will sue you blind. Good luck. Yeah, her lawyer sent out a letter to all the media outlets letting them know that, but of course they're not saying.
what kind of pictures we're talking about, but just the fact that they're freaking out like this kind of makes you wonder. Why do I feel like giving the camera the finger? Why do I feel like giving the camera the finger? What do we think of Christina Aguilera giving birth in full makeup? Come on, Mike! Really? It doesn't surprise me one bit. Have you ever seen her without full makeup? She's giving birth! Beautiful. But that's how she rolls, dude. No matter what they say. No matter, yeah. Yeah. Why don't you try considering that for her? Seriously. Right? Give the girl a break. She's very pretty. Words aren't just going to bring her down. Yeah. It doesn't matter what we say about her. You can say as much as you want. So, if that's the case, then why do you need to wear makeup? Oh. That's a great point, Eddie. Wow. I think you're reading into the dance mix version. I certainly don't want that one. No? You tell them, Christina. Sing it, Ashley. Hey, hey, hey, hey. I'm not busy for you. Here goes Ashley. Our very own American Idol star. Hit that number. Can't figure out who's who. Just gorgeous. Wow. Tonight on Fox 6. And then interviewed in studio by Fox 6. Who's doing the interview? C.S. Keys? I don't think so. 10 p.m. you'll see an interview in studio with Ashley. Ashley, I think you should do this, boys. No. No, why? Come on. Why? Because. Don't incur it, Mikey. This is serious. I want to say thank you for having me.
No. Yeah, something treating me pretty bad. No, they're going to think she's got, like, a problem. Right. Very nice. I do. I mean, Reuben. He is a very wise man. I'm just happy to play on TV. I think I'm a good singer, Reuben. Not even sure what I'm a hubbubble about. What? Why are they going to play me like that? I'll see. All right, so speaking of recording artists, what is new releases for this guy? What is new in the record stores, the videos, the DVDs? What do we got? Be cool. Okay, I'll be cool. New video games out today. For the Wii, No More Heroes. We have Burnout Paradise for PS3 and Xbox 360. A racing game, Mike. There you go. Now you like those. Endless Ocean for the Wii. What is that?

Yeah, you guys want to hear something funny? Okay. So I just ordered for my Wii. It's this Wii gun, so it looks like a pistol. You know, you use it like a pistol. I'm all excited about it. And so I'm like, well, what are some cool games to get with it? And one of them is House of the Dead 2. All I did was on Amazon, look at the still shots. Too scary. That game was awesome. Couldn't get it. Too scary looking. I said, oh, no, that game will give me nightmares. I ain't getting that. Forget it. I don't want those creepy things coming at me. What if I can't kill them? I'm done. Mentally, goodbye. It's a restart. Oh, forget it, man. I'm already the damage done. Damage done. All right. Also, video games out today.
Unlimited Adventure for the Wii. Wii! Pixel Junk Monsters for PS3 and Rainbow Islands Evolution for the PSP. Jeff Gordon would love that game. Alright, new CDs out today. We have Natasha Benningfield Pocket Full of Sunshine. This is the chick that the lead singer of Silverchair just got a divorce from. Really? Yeah, yeah. Daniel Johns. Oh, no, no, no. Breaking news. Breaking news. Didn't work out. And yesterday I heard that they announced that they're getting a divorce. Breaking. It's really sad. All right. Also out today, we have Jukebox by Cat Power. What the heck is that? If I can make it now. That was really interesting. I'm like, wow, they were able to digitally manipulate a cat's voice. That's right, yeah. As Matt's performing. Jason Mraz called. I'd rather listen to the cat having stuff went to it. Well, it was recorded at the zoo. cats are. Cats and horses. The displays are right next to each other. And then the final CD out today, if you got kids, is Radio Disney Jams, Volume 10, with all your favorite Disney artists, and also people like the Plain White Tees, Elliot Yameen, Colby Calais. Yeah, what the heck do you mean by that? Eddie just threw something in the sky, and when we come back, when we come back, we're going to get DVDs, new DVDs out today. When I've known

Don't miss the 2008 Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course, January 21st through the 27th. For tickets, for information, visit BuickInvitational.com. It's looking pretty good on most of our freeways right now. You do want to watch for some slow traffic hanging down the coastline on Southbound 5. From Birmingham Drive to Manchester, a little farther south, there's an overturned accident blocking the slow lane South 5 at La Jolla Village Drive. And that has you backed up on the South 5 coming off that 5805 split. All the way down to that accident scene. And South 15, just a brief delay in Ranch Bernardo. The border weight, though, very tough. An hour and a half still at San Isidro. About an hour, no time, Mesa. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. www.kudzu.com. It's like mud, but with a K. K-U-D-Z-U.com. This website does the walking for you. I love it so much because I'm a person who likes to have references before I go somewhere. I'm not going to go to a hairstylist, especially if I'm new in town.
I'm not going to go to a doctor unless I know that the doctor is good, unless I know that the hairdresser's got experience. And it's really hard to know those things off the top of your head, especially if you don't know that many people in town. How are you supposed to get settled and how are you supposed to do the walking? Well, Kudzu.com does the walking for you. That's their thing. You go there, you can type in anything you want. Restaurant, it doesn't matter. Someone who you want to work on your lawn. They can do it and they will give you a list of all the different businesses in your area with directions and different people who have used that business and what they think of it. So you'll immediately know if that business is right for you. Fantastic. If you haven't looked into it, do it today. It's www.kudzu.com. Hey, check it out. It's the Mikey Show. Yo, you have audio on that? Featuring Mikey. I love Maui. Eddie. We don't care. We love it. Poison men rules. Sky. I'm the most liberal acting person. Sean. I'm a pile of a group. He's big. Basmarab. Very well behaved. Just eats his food. Well, I'm just happy to have food. And Ashley. I will use an obscene amount of toilet paper. The Mikey Show is on. It's kind of like a stink lineup. Sure, yes. You know, Rock 105.3.
Welcome back, it's 9.39. The Federal Reserve cut two key interest rates today because of concerns over a weakening economy. Chargers gave out their team awards, voted LT the MVP, Antonio Cromartie, defensive player, Chris Stielman, lineman of the year, Kasim Osgood, special teams player of the year, and Phillip Rivers and Carlos Polk shared the most inspirational award. It's a red. You can see all of the different members of the Mikey Show's blogs right now at MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. You can find them by going there and typing in the keyword blogs, B-L-O-G-S. You can find all of ours. My wife was just reading Sean's and found it humorous. This is my favorite. Sean has quite an interesting blog. So good. Every day it's the best. He's an interesting person. Yeah, I like his thoughts. Well, now, Sean, how do you respond to that? I don't. Wait a minute. Wait, Sean, hang on. I'll read about it. I'm sure in your blog. Oh, no, I won't. Wait a minute. Let me see. Let me take a look at Sean's. You know, Sean doesn't... Listen, he's... There are lots of thoughts on there. All right, today it says... About Grandma?
welcome to the basement there's a video 80s video of the day suck it um then there's a picture of a very overweight woman in lingerie that says thanks for stopping by grandma um then they're trying to keep us out of a recession but i say good luck i can't say that and it says we're doomed read it we're doomed uh Saudi Arabia is set to lift the ban on women drivers. Sorry, guys. The last sliver of paradise in the world has been lost. Mikey finally figured out how he's going to do the running of the bulls. That's not very funny, Sean. It's a picture of a bunch of cattle and a Dodge pickup in the middle of it. That is funny. So there you go. That's Sean's blogs. I always find Skye's interesting because I like to know what's going on in her life and I find out through her blog. Today was a hard day. I was very sensitive today. I had to start the morning learning that Mike's wife's cat died over the weekend. Then I spilled Tabasco sauce all over my new tracksuit. And then my mom sent me a little something that made it all better. And then it's a link to something on YouTube.
What is it, Skye? Well, it's a video of Nora. She's an artist, really. Let me click on it. I don't really know how to describe what she does because it's so, like, new wave. It says, Nora, the sequel, better than... What happened? You guys, you guys. What? She's really good. If you want to know what it is, go to MikeyShow.com. I'm not going to tell you what it is, but go to... How dare you put that on? It changed my whole day. That is infuriating. Eddie, are you looking at it? That's infuriating. That's infuriating. I can just see how happy that must have been. Oh, it did. It made my whole day better. Can we edit her blog? No. I'm reconsidering. No, that is my space. I'm reconsidering. It is not. It is MikeyShow.com. It is not my space. No. It's not your space. It's like my personal journal. You don't edit someone's journal. If you go to MikeyShow.com M-I-K-E-Y S-H-O-W.com and type in the keyword blogs and click on Sky, you can see what we're talking about. There's a link to Nora. I hate this. Oh, it's so... Oh, Sean, you'll be enjoying it after the show. How dare you. No, I will not. How dare you put him in that category. Jealous.
Eddie's talking about some sports stuff. Let me see. Eddie, are you doing some sports stuff in here? No, actually, I didn't cover really any sports. Really? What are you doing? I answer a lot of questions in my blogs. A lot of people ask questions. There was a lot of comic book questions about Iron Man the movie coming out and what movie I want to see made from what comic books and stuff like that. There you go. I'm... almost afraid to click on B-Rob's because I was so angry when I read his last one. Oh, dude. Oh, why? Does he realize where he lives? I know it, man. I read his blog and I was so upset. This is how it starts. How do you like them apples? Patriots win 21 to 12. I mean, he literally sent that as a MySpace comment to friends, too. My friend got that. Like, that was his line yesterday. Which friend? Kaylee? I hope it was her. Yes. She's a jerk. She's my only friend. Rob's blog today says, I think a cool superpower would be to have the ability to hear other people talking about you. Hey, that if your ears start ringing, then someone is talking about you. That would be interesting if you could actually get the audio of someone talking about you, good or bad, if whenever someone said your name or was saying something about you.
Your ear tuned them in and you could hear the entire conversation. Patent pending. There you go. That was it? That was it, Eddie. Wow. That's a good one, Rob. That's all he wrote. Read my other one. Shut up. A little farther back. No, no, no. Before that. The narration one. Shut up! I'm not kidding you. I read these blogs every day. Because I want to learn about you guys. And I know you're pretty good, but I get to find stuff out I wouldn't normally know. Here's Ashley. Last night, I went to the Lil Wayne concert. Hell yeah. You did? Lil Wayne. Of course I did. Who's he? Of course you did. Lil Wayne's like my favorite rapper. Oh, duh. Wait a second. How did you not know that? I thought you'd say everybody's your favorite, though. No, no, no. What's your favorite Lil Wayne song? Well, his new one's called I'm Me, and it's real good. It's on my MySpace page. Right. What about Bring It Back, The Block Is Hot. Is I'm Me not in there? Nope. The Block Is Hot.
That's what it says here. Sky, what do you want from me? What block? What else is in there? Go DJ. Go DJ is a really good one. That's a great one. He sang that last night. That's so good. Aw, yeah. Man, me and my friend Kaylee were tearing it up doing this song. I heard Kaylee was a jerk. Somebody said, I heard, I was hearing that too, that Kaylee's a jerk. I thought you guys broke up, you and Kaylee. Yeah, no, we got, into a fight before Christmas. You were separated. You didn't legally file. No, we got into a fight before Christmas, but then we made up. We made up. What? Wow. She's like my little sister. Lil Wayne is? Lil Wayne? No, Kaylee. Lil Wayne's my homie. I was trying to get his attention last night. I wonder how. Take a look at this. Please. That's the chocolate I'm talking about. Because I stood out because I stood out white. I looked, you know, my own look. It says, last night I went to the Lil Wayne concert, which was sick. Ashley writes the way she talks. She does. Why wouldn't I? She does. Why wouldn't I? She says that last night she was at the Lil Wayne concert, which was sick. But seriously.
Staying up late is so hard for me now. Gosh, I'm a wuss. I went to bed at midnight. That is four hours later than I normally go to bed. And it's crazy to think that's how I used to roll, staying up that late. Don't sound like that. Gnarly. Stop it. I don't know how to do it. Anyway, little Wayne was so badass. I don't know. And here's one of my favorite rappers. So good. He didn't come on until freaking 11. By 11.30, I was ready to go home. Well said. Still in that half hour, he was rad. Loved it. So there you go. Wow. It's like Borat and Vinny Barbarino. Like we're the Sultan Van Nuys. Hey, Seth, did you send a picture? We got to get your picture on there. Yeah, I sent it. Oh, yeah, he sent it to me. Yeah, we got to get Seth's picture. So listen to Seth. Oh, we got what we got. Seth went on a date last night, it says. Right. What was his name? How many times? It never gets old. I went on a date last night, which brought up an interesting question. Does the quality of food affect the quality of your date?
I went to a restaurant in PB and the food was borderline atrocious. Imagine Taco Bell, but half as good and three times more expensive. I couldn't help but keep thinking about how bad the food was. Blech. I have about 12 hours of TV to catch up on with my TiVo. I never thought that I would say this, but I just don't have the time right now. And my car is a turd. So how was the date? It was good. The girl's name is Sarah. Yep. And he showed us pictures of her MySpace, and she's very pretty. Well, of course. And Eddie said, you know, quite matter-of-factly, why did she go out with you? Stop! I couldn't tell you. It's a legitimate question. But it went good, though? Yeah, it went good. We had fun. The food was horrible, like I said. What did you order? I'm not going to say the restaurant. Is it like Mexican food? Yeah. Yeah. And I got like a shredded beef burrito. Did you make any fat jokes or what? Nope. Nope. No inappropriate jokes. Wow. Good boy. Wow. Cool. Figuring it out. You did not sabotage the relationship. Probably why it's going so well. Yeah. Not quite yet. Yeah. Give me a couple weeks. I'll figure it out. Good conversation. Yeah. We did along pretty well. They've hung out like four times now. Well, this went well. You guys kiss?
I'm not going to tell you that on the radio, eh? What do you mean? Yeah, a gentleman doesn't kiss and tell us. Well, that means yes. That's definitely a yes. Second base, what's up? All right. Tell me off the air. Hang on a second. Tell me off the air. Hang on. Probably shouldn't do that. I am me. Which base? I am me. Details. All right. Each base, put in parentheses, like, specifically for sure. All right. Quick time out. Can we make any... Yeah, we got to do... We haven't got the DVDs that are out today. All right, so let's come back. We'll do DVDs. We did everything else. We did the CDs and the videos. Let's do DVDs when we come back. And then I also want to hear if anybody made any weird resolutions. Yesterday was the most depressing day, they said, in America, Sky? Is that what it was called? The most depressing day of the year or something? Okay, and they said that because a lot of people broke their resolutions already, so... Did you make any weird resolutions? Boston Rob did. We'll tell you what his is. I'm looking for it right now. When we come back. Mikey's show continues. Mike is a 5'3". You know that Yamaha motorcycle you waited for all last year? Good news. I know that Boston Rob is teeny, but was anybody just impressed at how easily I picked up Boston Rob and threw him on that chair? Yeah, I was. I missed it. I heard it going on in the background because I could hear his tiny little body flailing around the room as you were hoisting him. It was so easy, like a feather. I was like, where is that strength coming from? It's coming from working at a Frog's Fitness, Mike. You worked out there, too, and it's a great gym. I really enjoy going there. Dude, I mean this 100% sincerity. I would never go to another gym. I would never go to another gym. I agree with you. A big part for me and Mikey is we kind of get bored when we work out. And having your own personal television set, when you work out on the cardio equipment, like the treadmill or the elliptical or the bike or whatever,
Having your own personal television set there makes the workout go so much easier and so much quicker. And it's a great thing. And I don't know why other gyms don't think about that. When your machine is done with the time that you punched in and you go, whoa, I'm already done? Yeah. That's rad. And you can end up going a little bit more because you want to finish your program. Then you say, K-I-O! So that's like the password. What's up? Hey. Hey. How you guys doing? What's up? Guess who's on Idol tonight? Me. What? On American Idol. Will Ashley impress the judges? That's right. Ashley is on American Idol tonight. Wow. I'm so excited to watch. Utterly horrendous. I am very, very, very excited to see if they give her a full-on segment or if they are going to make it just a blip. Because they've been using her a ton on the promo. Yeah, on every promo. I'm just praying that they're not going to make her a blip. That would really suck. Yeah. So they're going to... False advertising. No. No, it's going to say underneath her picture, it's going to say Sarah instead of Ashley. And the reason is because they didn't let her use her stage name. She had to go by her real name, which is Sarah. Bogus. I know it, man.
Alright, Skye's got the DVDs that are coming out today. What do you got, Skye? Alright, out on DVD today, we have Saw 4. I think we have a clip to it. Oh, hello. It better not scare me. I'm not joking. Uh-oh. It will. Let's see. Cut. 30. Officer Rigg, your first death. The person in front of you is in desperate need of help, but it is not your job to save them. You view this person as a victim, but undeserving of them tells you to save the victim. I tell you to walk away. The choice is yours. Gigsaw. Does this talkback work? I don't even think your voice is that scary. Talkback is working. Whatever. That would scare me too much. Have you seen those, Sky? Do you watch those movies? No way, right? Get too scared? Eddie, you're in on those, alright? I wouldn't say I'm in on them. I made a promise to my niece that I would take her to all of them.
So we go... How old is she? Four. Fifteen. Oh, man. On her parental heads. That's right. Oh, she's a brave little girl. She loves them. Those kids don't... Those kids don't get scared by those movies. They don't? Not at all. They're so, like, desensitized. I think so. Oh, wow. What else is out? The Game Plan with The Rock. Eddie, did you see that? Are you kidding? No, no, no. Which one am I thinking you saw? The Marine? Is that the one I'm thinking you saw? One with a... Cena? John Cena? Oh, yeah. I haven't seen that one. You haven't? Oh, I saw that one. Dude, it was awesome. I saw The Condemned. Oh, I saw that too. It was great. It was good, huh, Sean? Yeah, dude. Yeah, bro. But no, Rock is now moving into family-friendly fair. So it's like he's the father of his long-lost little daughter. Yeah, he's like a successful football player and all of a sudden his little girl drops on his doorstep. Basically a remake of Curly Sue. We've had this talk before. It's so wrong. It really upsets Eddie. I'm so wrong. I've had this talk before. What else, Skye? Sydney White out today. The Amanda Bynes movie. It's like a modern Snow White. I love all of her movies. I just can't. Such a good actress. I love them. I love all of them. I do, too. I know you'll like them. I love them. I do. I do love them. The Hunting Party out today. Terrence Howard, Mike. Richard Gere. Journalism. Scott Bosnia. Thank you.
He's got Terrence Howard. I'll watch it. He's a good actor. He's black. Terrence Trent Darby. Hey, listen. Terrence Trent Darby followed up Wishing Well with another movie. With a movie? I'd go see it. Black guys can act, man. Yeah, they can. Sure can, Mike. And the straight-to DVD, Jessica Simpson, Blonde Ambition. That's embarrassing. Oh, I bet it's just... That's bad. I bet it's so bad. Luke Wilson, Jessica Simpson. Straight to DVD. Original. Right. Okay, TV shows to DVD. I guess I better just get this out of the way right in the gate. Sean Banachek, season two. Season two? Season two is out today. Yeah! Yeah, congratulations. Me and Eddie are both looking at each other like, what is that show? I've never heard of that. It's a great show. George Pappard. He's an insurance investigator in Boston, as a matter of fact. Oh, good. An insurance investigator? That's right. What the heck? Holy cow. So good. He's a freelance insurance investigator. Oh, well, that makes it better. He doesn't actually work for anyone. He works for himself. Well, yeah. Of course. I'm being serious. How many copies of that Banachek Season 2 DVD will be sold? One. Sean. I'm wrong.
I mean, is there a bunch of Banachek fans out there for real? There has to be. Is that his name? Yeah, that's his last name. Banachek is Polish. B-A-N-A-E-C. Okay. He is just nuts. That Sean is just nuts. Oh, my God. Okay. Also, TV shows to DVD. We have The Girls Next Door Season 3. Yes. ER. Season 8. The Girls Next Door. What is it? Love that show. Watch it religiously. It's great. Ashley watches all those reality shows. It's all I watch. Hawaii Five-0 Season 3. Sean. The Odd Couple Season 3. Do you like Hawaii Five-0? Oh yeah. Of course. And then finally we have The Simple Life, the complete fifth season on DVD today. Enjoy. There you go. A lot of people were writing in because we were talking about LT. Don't get started. Don't get me started again. Well, Eddie was really upset. People are criticizing LT. And Sky was saying, well, you know what? I think that maybe LT could have been kind of trying to pump up those players. I mean, he's a team player, and he should have acted like one. Instead of just sitting on the side. You know, it's sitting on the sidelines, and it's not about me. It's about the team. It's not me. It's team. There's no...
There's no me in we. Wait, what? That's what I'm trying to say. There's no me in we. I think the saying is there's no I in team. Yeah, there's no I in team. There's no interception. You know what I'm saying? Anyway, so a lot of people are chiming in. Says, hey, Mikey, talk about, why don't you talk about John Elway and his bum knees and how long did he last in the league? A long time. That might shut up that caller that wanted to talk crap about Rivers. Oh. Rivers will be fine. Signed P1 Bog. I agree with that. There you go. Let's see. This one says, doesn't it speak more to LT's character that he immediately stepped aside when he realized that he couldn't carry the ball? That he puts the team before himself. Oh. Understanding. that even though he's the best running back in the league, going on the field would more likely hurt his team at that point. Sitting on the sideline must have killed his ego and pride and been one of the toughest things he's had to deal with his entire career. Cheering on your team doesn't have to be a really demonstrative thing either. You can say a quiet word to help boost a player's morale. Give a piece of advice, little things that probably have more impact than LT jumping up and down, with a bad knee nonetheless, like a glorified gimp cheerleader. Whoa!
Signed P1 Chris. That is a great point. Eddie, the next one may make you upset. It's from P1 Lawyer Vanessa. Oh, I'm really nervous. She's now going as P1 V Diddy. She says, I'm floored by people's comments this morning about LT. He's probably the classiest player in football. This isn't the part that's going to irritate you. She says, he's not only one of the most talented and determined players in the NFL right now, not including Brady, but he is a good person on and off the field, which is few and far between. Did people forget that it was like 10 degrees outside? This is the part, Eddie, where you may have issue. As for Rivers, I have one question for Eddie. If the Patriots offered to trade Brady for Rivers, Would you think they should do it? Or Peyton? Or Brett? If your answer to any of those is yes, then rethink your statements regarding Rivers. You got the most talented team in the NFL, but the quarterback position is clearly lacking. That's the stupidest comment I've ever heard. I thought that that one might... Eddie, what do you think?
What do you think of that? There's a person who doesn't know what they're talking about. Yeah, it's a little infuriating, right? Okay. Explain. Wow. Well, I knew that that one would probably... I don't know why that's dumb. Let me tell you why. And then Eddie can go into a spiel. It's one of those, like, the most ridiculous... Hypothetical. I'll talk to a little girl. Explain the game of football for you. See, each team can't have the best player at their position. At every position. Wouldn't it be great if we had Tom Brady and Nathanian Tomlinson and Randy Moss and Terrell Owens and every great player on our team? That would be the best. Right. We shouldn't settle for anything else, right? That proves it's no good if he's not Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Right. We should trade for them. And if you think that Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are better quarterbacks, which they are,
that means that Phillip Rivers sucks. Yeah. Like, what the hell? What is she... What is that? That's so dumb. I don't... I don't understand. Oh, my God. So now... Uh-oh, wait. Sky's got to look. Sky... Uh-oh. I just think she's trying to point out, because you were saying that you wouldn't want a quarterback in the draft, and then she's just pointing out, well, there is potentially bigger talent out there. No, there isn't. You can't... We can't have... Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. And if that were, if that ridiculous Martian, if that ridiculous Martian point were actually something that could be looked into, you think the Chargers wouldn't take Tom Brady or Peyton Manning? No, no, I think. How about Joe Montana? Yeah. How about Joe Montana? Oh. In his prime. I mean, since we're coming up with wacky. Steve Young. Well, I think she's just pointing out that Joe Montana. He was really good. Sky. Potential. from a draft choice doesn't mean you're going to be Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Right, right. But that, you know, because you were saying you were 100% satisfied with Rivers or whatever as our quarterback or something. I don't remember the exact conversation. I didn't say that, but... And she's pointing out there's just better talent out there in that position. I don't know. Of course there is. Okay. Hang on, Chris. What she's saying is that if we say, yeah, we would take a trade...
For Tom Brady. For Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, then that means we better just rethink what we're saying. About Philip Rivers. About Philip Rivers. We're like, you can't. It's so childlike. It is so childlike. It is. It is. It is a bit childlike. Why are we even having this discussion? P1 Chris. Hey, Mikey. P1 Vanessa doesn't know what she's talking about. This is why it shows that women. Hey. Say it. Easy. Oh, here it comes. You're right. You're right. Whatever you're going to say, you're right. You're a beating. I am eye-beating. I didn't say crap, you jerk face. Whoa. Wow. You're so intelligent. I never said I was so intelligent. Women's knowledge of this game. Listen to what you're saying. Oh, my God. Do you want Vanessa to just go stick that lawyer gavel right into her mouth and pass away? Lawyer gavel? Wow, lawyer gavel. What is that? There you go. Really upset. Yeah, he really told her off. That's right. P1 Johnny Moto's on the line. Oh, good. Hey, Johnny Moto. I actually wanted to touch on... Hello, Moto. ...playing in the game. If we had actually recognized Rivers was actually... Is this P1 nerd and you're trying to pretend you're going by a different name of Johnny Moto? So distracted. Please, give us your point again, Johnny. What were you saying?
I just want to touch on if you guys think there might have been a different outcome with Volek and Rivers sitting maybe after recognizing he was not performing 100%. Well, first of all, it wasn't Phillip Rivers' fault that we lost the game. Phillip Rivers had a pretty good game, did a good job. If you think that Billy Volek could have done a better job, then you know what? I say you should have your Billy Volek. Well, I think he was just asking you. I'm not saying one or the other. I'm just saying, do you? No, I don't think that. Okay. Thank you for the call. P1 Martin, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. How are you doing? Go ahead, Martin. Real quick point. I mean, Michael Turner was a big factor in the game since LT made the decision that he made. But, I mean, his contract is over. That's one big decision the San Diego still has to make. I mean, are we going to keep this guy or are we going to lose him to big money that's waiting out there? I know it, man. He's gone. He's not going to be a Charger next year. Sucks. Don't even think about it.
So what are they going to do? Are they going to have... Sooner or later, we'll have to spend some money on that kind of talent because of what happened with LT. It's a good team. We had him when we had him. Hopefully, we know. Hey, Martin. We'll have him in the next future, but... Martin. Maybe next year, we might do a better job. I think Rivers... Rivers should have not put himself in the game. We might have not done better with Wallach, but... I mean, at least... Martin. Martin. Yeah. Do you think... Martin. That Darren Sproles... is an acceptable backup to LaDainian Tomlinson? You know, tough question because, I mean, he gets a lot of statics because of his height, but, I mean, he's really fast. I mean, a good backup, yeah, I'd say good. Would I say I would put him in front of Michael Turner? I'm not sure. I mean, that's a real tough question. Well, we're going to lose Michael Turner. That's the deal. We're going to lose him. Martin. Damn it, Martin. Do you want Martin? P1 Mohawk now on the line. Mohawk, how are you? I'm doing okay, but, dude, I've been punching my radio for a while listening to these people bashing LT. Talk about it. I tell you what. The Chargers had won this game, which they could have, and they should. If they were firing on all cylinders, no question about it, they would have had this game. But they weren't, and they didn't win. But if they had won, people would be praising LT for not being selfish and going out there.
and playing less than probably 50%. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't. I mean, people criticize Rivers for playing hurt. They're criticizing for LT for not playing hurt. You can't win. I mean, everybody, when you lose a game like this, everybody comes out of the woodworks and has their own opinion and says, you know, oh, we should have done this, we should have done this. Well, let the second guessing continue because it's just, we lost. That's the bottom line, and we're moving on. And these guys don't deserve to be criticized for it. P1 DJ. Yeah, I was kind of going back to the LP thing with Sky, maybe to be able to put it in perspective. When I was in high school, I played football, and, you know, I got a really, really bad sunburn. You know, they understood what was going on. Oh, it's too bad. Oh, wow. We understand. That's a good cure. Yes, that is a cure. Good point. Well, you're a brave man, sir. That's right. He sounds very brave. Maybe somebody could have spilled Tabasco on his uniform. That would have been traumatic. Can you imagine if the opposing team had a brand new Tabasco bottles in their hand? Brutal. They had to sprinkle Tabasco on those uniforms and those guys had gone home. I didn't go home. I sucked it up. I'm a team player.
Hey, listen. I got your back, guys. You patted on the sideline, though, the entire time. That's true. Just for a couple minutes, then I sucked it up. It was longer than a couple minutes. Okay, like a half hour, and then I sucked it up. It was pretty much the whole day. No, it was not. The whole day. It was not. It was upset. We're okay today. Nominations were made for the Academy Awards, and the following boring films were nominated in the following categories. Skye, let's do... Which ones do you want? Give me best actor and best actress. Okay. Let's see. Best actress. We have Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth the Golden Age. Yeah. Julie Christie in Away From Her. Oh, that's a fine film and a fine actor. Marion Cotillard in La Vie and Rose. I like the lunch burrito. I've seen it twice. Laura Linney in The Savages. Thank you. And finally, Ellen Page for Juno. Love her TV show. I love practicing. Thank you. That's a different Ellen. And for Best Actor, who was nominated? George Clooney for Michael Clayton. Clooney. Love him. Daniel Day-Lewis, There Will Be Blood. Great movie. Great actor. You haven't seen it. Great movie. Loved it. Almost three hours ago. Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. That's the same character.
Every movie, it's the same guy. White makeup on the face. That's right. Crazy hair. Crazy hair. He's a crazy guy. Centric character. Centric character. We got it. Every movie. Great. Tommy Lee Jones in the Valley of Aliyah. No? No, that's the only one I can't give anything up for. And finally, Viggo Mortensen for Eastern Promises. Yeah, Eddie Soda. Shows his ding-ling. No, come on now. He does, he does. Does he really? Shows his ding-ling. How dare he? That's why he's nominated. Bits and pieces. Oh, goodness. He's not actually nominated. His ding-ling. His junk is. I'm homophobic. Thank you. His tits and bits. Yes, his tits and bits. And then you want to do Best Picture? Yeah, Best Picture. Who's nominated? Atonement. Oh, never seen it. Nor will you. Nor will I. Juno? A bunch of people with English accents. That's all I know. It's about love, Mike. Acting all serious. Acting all serious. It's all relationship-y and stuff. I love you. I love you. Yeah, I love you. I can't be with you. I can't do this any longer. We'll meet again. There, you've seen atonement. There. Those were English accents. I would die for you.
It's a good one. Juno for Best Picture. Yeah. Here. This is from the soundtrack. They shouldn't have those two displays next to each other, the horse and the cat display. That's by MC Scat Cat. That's right. That was MC Scat Cat. And you see Paula stumbling through the video. Back to work. All right. Also for Best Picture, Michael Clayton. Ah, yes. I love. My favorite was Jurassic Park. But then when his second book came out. No, no, no. That's Michael. I thought that was great, too. Right. But it's to each their own. To each their own. This is the wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No, I think that's Michael Clayton. That's who you're thinking of there. That's Michael Clayton. That's the name of the movie. Oh, this is a movie about the guy, then? Oh, wow. Well, that changes things. It began in New Orleans as a youngster playing Pop Warner football. Also nominated, No Country for Old Men. That looks good, man. That looks real good. It is good. He saw it, Sean?
Yeah, I did. Whoa. Dude, you never said it. You didn't say it. Oh. What the hell, Sean? You never said it sought. Yeah, like the first probably... Sean, you're supposed to say that you see it. Sean, you were supposed to go sought. You didn't do that. What did you think, Sean? There were parts of it that were excellent. The last, like... Probably 15 minutes I didn't get at all. Didn't understand it. But the first, like, 40 minutes, you can't even get your breath. It's like a big, long chase. That means it's fantastic. That means it's worth it just for the last 15 minutes. The rest of the movie probably blows. I challenge you to figure out the last 15 minutes. The first hour and 45 sucked. Primo. Memorable.
And then finally nominated for Best Picture of the Year, There Will Be Blood. Yes! There it is. But he's never seen it. But it's so good. You don't know that. First 45 minutes, no dialogue. It's really great. It's like 20 minutes. I exaggerate. He's Zeph? I wasn't timing it. What are you, Zeph? Zed is dead, baby. Sorry, Zed. Everyone Butcher Boy is on the line. Are you there, Butcher Boy? Yes, Mike. Yeah, what's going on? Let's get back to the important stuff about LT. Yes, yes, please. He won't let it go. Talk about it. All right, one thing. Monster. Going out there and playing like that hurt with both his knees hurt. I just can't think there's a better quarterback for the Chargers. That's right. LT, he is the best running back in the league. If he's going to sit down and hurt and let the other three running backs come in and give us the best chance to win, I just love that. Thank you very much. Thank you.
Thank you. That was our last call. There it was. It was really good, though. I'm glad we wrapped that up. It was good while we were talking about it. Well said. You know, I love Mike Huckabee, and I like John McCain. I like the both of them. Although, I will say that I think that my boy Huckabee should probably get a hold of that Chuck Norris and tell him to be quiet. Chuck Norris. is in a commercial for Mike Huckabee. And so they're friends. They got to know each other pretty good. And they travel on the campaign trail and everything. And Chuck Norris, he's something else. Why? What do you do? Cut six. I feel at 72, they take over the presidency. You know, look at the president in the past. Look at George W. Look how he's aged in seven years. He's aged three to one in seven years. Bill Clinton, he aged three to one. Former President Bush, who I was with a lot,
I saw him age in those four years. And I'm thinking, now if John takes over the presidency at 72, and if he ages three to one, how old will he be in four years? He'll be 84 years old. Can he handle that kind of pressure in that job? And so that's why I didn't pick John to support. Because I'm just afraid that the vice president will wind up taking over his job. within that four-year presidency. God. Yeah, give me a break. Come on. You're an ageist. He's ageist. Didn't he watch The Amazing Race? Why was there? Was there an 80-year-old in that? A 70-year-old guy came in third place. That's huge. That's huge. Didn't he want it? Yeah, I mean, and... Oh, shit. So if he could do that, then this guy could be president. You know what I'm saying? All those countries? Yeah. Guy was pole vaulting in his undies at 69 years old? No, dude, he's like 73 or something crazy. Yeah. Oh, I thought he was almost seven. Anyway. I thought he was in his 70s. So face Chuck Norris. Oh, crap. So there's that. Google it. Just Google it, man. Yeah, Google his age. That's what's important here. Thank you, Eddie. The age of old guys. Guys, I can't believe we didn't talk about this earlier. Shawnee, you're there, right?
Yeah, man. Okay, I got to play some of these clips. Go ahead. Dr. Phil finally, on his show, started talking about going to see Britney and defending himself. So, here he is talking about his decision to talk to the press about Britney Spears. If you didn't know, her parents came to him as a friend and said, we talked to her. So, dude, like, start sending out press statements. What is it? Press releases. So, here he is defending doing that. Cut eight. I was seen coming and going by the press. And after I left the hospital, I did give a statement confirming my visit. And I did that in hopes of quelling any further speculation about it. I disclosed not one word, not one syllable about what took place behind closed doors, nor will I ever. You can't. Now, have I been criticized for saying anything at all? Yes, quite severely, in fact. Have I wrestled with the decision that I made?
A statement, even though I don't feel like it added any information to what was already known? Yes, I have wrestled with that. Was it helpful in the situation? Regrettably, no. It wasn't, and I have to acknowledge that, and I certainly do. Well, wait a second, Phil. The only thing that is really strange to me is that you could have, if what you're saying is true, and you were trying to quell anybody wondering, If, in fact, you were there to visit Britney Spears and you wanted to put everybody's mind to rest, yes, you were. Why wouldn't you release a press statement that said just that and that's it? Yeah, we don't need a timeline like you released or that you walked her to her car. We didn't need to know any of that junk. And we didn't need you to go on Good Morning America to say that. Don't forget Entertainment Tonight. That's what it was. It was Entertainment Tonight. So, I mean. I don't get it. Cut nine. If I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't say a word. I wouldn't make a statement to anybody about anything. My intentions were good, and I wish it had helped or had some positive effect, but clearly it did not. But let me be clear. I certainly do not apologize for trying to help this family or this girl in trouble. So the reports yesterday were pretty interesting because some people were claiming,
Dr. Phil goes on the show and apologizes for what he did. And other reports were Dr. Phil goes on the show and doesn't apologize for what he did because his statement is so back and forth. Right. But basically right there he says he does not apologize. Yeah. For helping the family. For trying to help a friend, Eddie. Right. Yeah. I mean, how many times have y'all helped somebody by letting Fox 6, 739, and... ABC, no. Never, Dr. Phil. That's not how you help friends. That's not my tactic. Well, you guys must not have the wherewithal to get a hold of the publicist. I do. But why wouldn't you? Why would you what? Get a hold of the press when you're talking to your partner. Exactly. Wait, no. You're not. So I'm Dr. Phil. All right. I think we've pretty much hit on everything we wanted to today. That Marine that killed the pregnant woman, they think he's in Mexico. And basically what they're saying is, They won't give him the death penalty if Mexico will agree to expedite him if they find him. Because Mexico has a history of going, we will not give you people back if you're going to kill him. Because we don't believe in that. So they're basically saying to them, all right, take a listen here. If you give them back, we won't kill them. And we're waiting to see what Mexico says about it. Did you guys hear the story about the teenage water polo guys in...
Irvine, that pictures of them playing water polo started turning up on gay porn sites. Yeah, I saw them in the news last night. Now, here's a weird thing. So basically what they're thinking is, is that somebody was there, well, they're saying somebody was there taking pictures, just like, you know, hey, I'm taking pictures, like people would think maybe they're taking pictures of their kid, and then the person went home, put them on gay porn sites. Is that how it happened? Well, they're specifically investigating, actually, a police dispatcher from UC Irvine who applied for a press permit to take photos at this water polo match up at UC Irvine. But he doesn't work for the press? Right, which included kids, high school kids from San Diego, L.A., and Orange Counties. Yeah, that's not curious. Yeah. Guy's a mailman, but he wants a press pass. You know, some of these kids are as young as 14. 13 years old and, you know, according to the parents, it's been kind of pretty traumatic for them. Yeah, you think? Yeah. People saying that they're gay. Well, and that their pictures are gay. Well, yeah, because, you know, they're athletes and now they feel like what their sport is is like now like gay or something.
That they should be ashamed. Well, they should have always known that. Well, I mean, that hasn't been a secret. Come on. That's no secret. Come on. They're athletes. Did you know that, this is something for you ladies, did you know that caffeine doubles your risk of a miscarriage? Whoa. Caffeine. Yeah. So if you're pregnant, don't be drinking Cokes. Don't be drinking coffee. Don't be drinking caffeine. Yeah, they say two or more cups of coffee every day increase your risk by twice. Yeah, they say, and that includes, you know, soda, tea, whatever. So they say that people who are trying to get pregnant or are pregnant should avoid caffeine altogether just to be safe. Fit Pregnancy Magazine made a list of the best city to have a kid in. San Diego in there? Well, we just missed the top 10. We came in 12th. What do they base it on? Well, a lot of different things. Affordability, birth risks, health factors, breastfeeding, birthing options, fertility laws, a bunch of stuff. So some of the positive things about San Diego that made it rank 12th place is we have great laws in regards to family leave. We got good tax breaks for having dependents. They say babies born in San Diego are 26% less likely to be born with low birth weights. They say by six months old.
54% of babies in San Diego are still being breastfed at six months. So they say that's a really... Yeah, I was 13 when I stopped. Holy cow. I was really a lot older than I had anticipated that would go on. But there are some negatives. The hospital costs here are the highest among the survey. I was sure I still would be. Oh, is he not on? He's not on anymore, so you can take that with immunity. They say the air quality here is not good. There's no state laws requiring daycare workers to get training on SIDS. So just a couple things, a couple pros and cons, but we're number 12 on the list. And then finally, an explosive device could wash ashore near the Hotel Dell. So we'll see you guys later. Have a great rest of your day. The Navy lost this explosive device in Oceanside, I think, right? Initially. Well, what was it like up north, wasn't it? Oh, well, they say 300 yards off the coast. No, they were out by the Silver Strand area. Oh, they were? Yeah. Oh, I thought initially it was like, hey, if it washes up here, don't touch it. No, it's always. Well, yeah, it is. But it was Coronado area. For some reason, I thought it was Oceanside. So where is this bomb? Well, they're saying that it could be by the Hotel Del, and if it washes up, don't touch it. Yeah.
Good to know. How do you know what it is? Call 911. All right. If you see something. Or don't even go in that area. Yeah. That might be a good idea, too. I'll do. Why not? It's about two and a half feet long by three inches in diameter. Today's the last day you can register if you want to vote in the February 5th primary. If you're not a registered voter. Ashley, are you a registered voter? Yeah. Are you going to vote in the primary? Yes. No. No. On February 5th, are you going to vote? Are you registered Democrat or Republican? Demo. All right. And who are you going to vote for? Demo. I just don't think that I know enough about any of the candidates yet. The brother. That's right. What I normally do is have a really good discussion with my father, and he will break down in Ashley language what each candidate is good for and with and their cause. The guy that looks like he can dance. And then I do what my dad does. There you go. That's what I do. It's a good one. America. My dad is America. Come on. Okay, Eddie.
570-1053 is the number. Call us at the beginning and end of every show. Open phones at the beginning and end, so call with whatever you want. That's a wrap, folks. That girl's going to be on American Idol tonight. Ashley's on American Idol tonight. Thanks, Eddie. Can't wait. Makes a lot of sense now, doesn't it? Yeah, it does. It'll say Sarah, okay, because you can't use her stage name. She's got to go by her real name, which is Sarah. So make sure you watch her tonight. on American Idol, 8 o'clock, and then interviewed live in the studio at Fox 6, 10 o'clock. Can I go by Ashley on that? Oh, sure. Yeah, yeah, sure. Make them. Just because I prefer it, because I'm more, I mean, I know that sounds really weird, but I'm more used to being called Ashley than Sarah. Yeah. I know that sounds weird, but I'm more used to being called Ashley. You know, can you get them... To legally change my name? Yes. I should look into it. Can you, or Ash, make sure that you,
get that you're on the Mikey show and all that? Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. Because my experience is that sometimes they don't do it. They don't want to. They don't care. So we have to make them care, and the only way you do it is... But Eddie, you know somebody over there, right? Yeah, Eddie takes care of all that stuff for me, so I just... He's your publicist. All I'm told to do is show up and look really good. Yeah, that's right. Exactly. Mikey show, hello. Good morning, Juan Diego. Oh, thank you. It's Sanjaya from American Idol. How are you? Ash, can you hear me? Yeah. Hey, what up? Hey, man. Can't wait to see you tonight. Dude, it's going to be great, man. Yeah, for sure. Hey, I just want to know, do you have a question? Are you guys going to watch the new show, The Moment of Truth? What is that show, anyway? It's a lie detector test. And they ask you all these crazy questions. It's for like a million bucks. Really? Yeah, like do you see yourself still married to your spouse in 10 years? Do you really care about the kids in Africa? Well, I mean... We'll have like an overweight person ask you if you think fat people are disgusting. Really? Yeah, like they're... I gotta think about that one. They're scary, crazy questions. Really? It can ruin your life questions. Yeah. Well, yeah. Now, I wonder if there's anything we can't be honest about, what's that all about?
It's just the way the questions are formed are kind of grody to me, huh? But it's Fox. Yeah, that sounds a little... What do you think, Sanjay? Are you going to watch it? Yeah, I'm going to watch it, but I would never go on that show. All right, dude. Thanks for the call. Love you. Love you. Love you guys. P1 Mike. What were you guys talking about over in Coronado? It was washing up on the beach. It's like the Navy lost a mine, Sky? Like a landmine? Or what is it? An explosive device that malfunctioned during a training exercise. It's a time-delayed demolition charge that they used to blow up enemy mines. They say the primary charge exploded during the training exercise, but it didn't trigger a complete detonation. So they say, like... Well, they're telling people, if you see it, wash up. Obviously, don't touch it. Don't do anything. Call 911. But they also go on to say that it could only explode if it's ignited. Because I worked down here at the port, and about 45 minutes ago, I happened to look over there, and I saw a big, pink cloud of smoke rising up from over Coronado. Stop it. Could have been like the show Lost. Yeah. How do you know you're not seeing it? I was tripping out, because I was sitting here, and I looked across the bay, and I see this big cloud of, like,
It was like bright pink smoke, so I didn't... Really? And then I heard you guys... Oh, man. Sonny, you're scaring me. And percentage... Percentage of chance he's telling the truth. Eddie? Zero. All right. Sky? Fifteen. Let's see. Ashley? I don't know. I'm going to say 90%. All right. And Boston Rob says, can't do it. I'm Zeth's friend. And Zeth, what do you think? About four percent. I say there is a 1% chance he's telling the truth, and we're all wrong. Actually, there's minus 8% chance. Oh, yes. Eddie's the closest, for sure. Thank you. I wish I had a picture. Appreciate it. Mikey Show. Mikey Show, hello. Hi. I'm sorry. You're going to laugh at me. I'm just joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. This is Lori. I'm just calling because I called like two years ago to ask you guys. Of course. What is going on? No, I didn't. Why did I call you that?
used that word ever. Folks, this is Lori and she called me and she said, you, Mikey N-word, you are nothing. I do not. You are racist. I said, you're a racist. Don't call me again for two years. I have only called that word one time and I have never used that word. What were you calling about, Lori? Just calling to say, why did you call me racist? You waited two years to ask? She's very crazy. I don't get it. She's lonely. Well, you know, I mean, it could be. Two years ago, I called her racist, and she's calling. She could be lonely. Oh, no, I didn't wait two years to ask, though. I actually tried to call many times. This is the first time you got through? This is the first time I have gotten through. Lori, I'll be honest with you. I don't remember calling you racist. I don't remember what the context of the conversation is, and if it was two years ago, it's too long ago for me to remember. You barely remember.
He remembers what he ate yesterday. What do you want from him? It's true. It's very true. Okay. That's okay, Lori. All right, bye. Bye. It's your good friend. Picnic, you guys. That's right. Mikey Show, hello. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Yeah, call and see if Eddie knows anything about Khalil Green leaving San Diego. Well, he's up for arbitration, so he's not going to go anywhere. You don't think Kevin Tower's going to go out and get someone else? No. I don't think so. You don't think so? Nope. There you go, brother. All right. Racist. The lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. And today on The Nooner, she's got your all-request lunch hour. Make sure you tune in. Tomorrow, we'll get back together again at 5.30 in the morning. We'll do it all over again. Mikey's show is out late.
