Mikey, Eddie, Skye, Ashley, and Boston Rob turned pop culture into running comedy through Saved by the Bell nostalgia, a sharp disagreement over the Lost premiere, Tone Deaf Karaoke, and fabricated Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu facts. They debated Barack Obama's offshore-drilling and clean-energy plans, then contrasted the historic importance of his inauguration with Mikey's demand that inspiration eventually produce concrete results; a fake Obama call exaggerated the new president's everyman image. Eddie delivered brutal Tough Love to three listeners, the crew recoiled at Tyra Banks guests with bizarre eating habits, and everyone argued over whether parents selling Girl Scout cookies teach teamwork or unfair competition. They also marked the first anniversary of Heath Ledger's death before turning the McRib's return into an absurdly patriotic celebration built around Beyonce's inauguration comments.
What happened, in order
Saved by the Spanos
LT's declaration that he wanted to remain with the Chargers sent Mikey, Eddie, and the crew into an extended riff connecting the Spanos family to Jesse Spano, Zack Morris, Kelly Kapowski, and other Saved by the Bell char
Lost premiere fight
A caller's mixed reaction to the Lost premiere triggered a heated but playful argument in which Eddie wanted answers and the Oceanic Six back on the island while Skye loved the time jumps and Sawyer's shirtless scenes.
Oil versus electric cars
P1 Lindsay blamed Barack Obama's offshore-drilling policy for a nine-cent gas-price increase, while Skye defended alternative energy and Mikey pressed her on whether electric cars would really become widely available.
Ordinary President Obama
Mikey's Obama impersonation claimed to be an ordinary American while describing Secret Service tooth-brushing, a shark omelet, Oprah demanding cars for everyone, and George W. Bush's elaborate White House pranks.
Remembering Heath Ledger
A listener won WEC tickets by identifying the first anniversary of Heath Ledger's death, prompting Skye and Ashley to recall exactly where they were when they heard the news.
Tough Love barrage
Eddie's Tough Love segment mocked Bryce's girlfriend for rejecting Chinese food, advised Taylor about his girlfriend farting in her sleep, and savaged a 69-year-old listener who disliked the show's impressions and outspo
Tyra's gross eaters
The crew recoiled at Tyra Banks guests who ate scalp scabs and toilet paper, especially when one woman claimed the paper kept her from using the bathroom for a month.
Tone Deaf Karaoke
Ashley performed deliberately mangled versions of songs by Ozzy Osbourne, Naked Eyes, Coldplay, and the Beastie Boys while callers struggled to identify them for Royal Rumble prizes.
Cookie-selling parents
Mikey and Eddie argued that parents who sell Girl Scout cookies at work undermine competition and self-reliance, while Skye and Ashley said parental help was fair if the child also worked and the fundraiser had no rule a
Super Bowl fake facts
Ashley mixed Larry Fitzgerald's real Walter Camp Award with invented Grammy and No. 1 Dad honors, then Boston Rob claimed Troy Polamalu built a Samoan bridge from his own hair.
Obama euphoria debate
After clips of Denzel Washington and Beyonce praising Barack Obama's inauguration, Mikey respected the historic meaning of the first Black president but argued that inspiring speeches should not be mistaken for accomplis
McRib mania
News that a nearby McDonald's had the McRib sent Eddie into ecstatic detail about the boneless pressed-pork sandwich, while the crew repurposed Beyonce's emotional inauguration audio to celebrate its return.

The body of an elderly woman who was buried in the backyard of a Claremont home over a decade ago was dug up yesterday. Well, we do know where LT stands. He wrote on his website his desire to stay with the Chargers saying, I feel that I need to make it very clear that I have no intentions of leaving San Diego. Really? Yeah. Well, there is no ambiguity there. No. We get that. Definitely not. And, you know, he said... You know, a few other things, including about how San Diego is where my career started and where I like it to end. I have nothing but love and the utmost respect for this team, the players, and the Spanos family. Me being traded is completely out of my hands, and I have absolutely no control in that decision-making. Yeah. Well, sounds like he's letting everybody know. It's a deal. You know what I mean? He wants everybody to know. He wants to be here. What I want to know. in terms of the Spanos family, is what about Jesse Spanos from the show Saved by the Bell? Yeah, we've been wondering. I don't know if she's a niece or what the deal is, but what does Jesse Spano think? It's a really interesting question. It's a good question. Meanwhile, I've been wondering this whole time, what about Uncle Jesse from the show we all know and love, Full House? That's true. How's he affected by this? And what are his thoughts? Yeah. Tense. And, you know, not to beleaguer the point,
But going back to Saved by the Bell, what about A.C. Slater? How does he feel about LT's comments? A.C. Slater. Yeah. What about Zach? I can't remember his last name. Wow. What about Zach? I can't remember his last name. Zach E. Morris? Yes. Wow. That was tough for Rob to admit. That was good. Now you dropped Lisa Turtle on us. Then you got something. There we're going. But Kelly Kapowski. Then that would have made you look cool. Well, we're not talking about Screech Powers. Screech what? Wow. Screech what? Wow. Dude. You are Mr. Belding. Some nerd keeps IMing me. Yeah, I'm sure. Yes. Yes. Stop. It may be your inner nerd. It's doing the IMing. Dang, I'm trying to suppress him. You know what? We have a lot of theme songs. We got to get that one. Yeah. When you wake up in the morning. We don't have it. I saw that show for the first time. I was 21 years old. You were 21? I was 21 when it came out. Well, I don't know if I was.
If it had just come out or if I was just discovering it, because we know how I am with that. What was the wheel like? I just watched Kramer vs. Kramer for the first time last night. All right, Mike. We get it. That's not true. You know what I mean? But I remember thinking to myself, what is the target age for Saved by the Bell? Be realistic, you guys. Don't try to justify your watching. I mean, really answer. Young teens, I would say. I think Eddie may be right. Yeah, definitely. I think 13, 14, 15 was probably the ideal age for Saved by the Bell. Yet, we as adults of 20, 21, 22, we were watching it. Oh, please. I'd watch it now. Oh, yeah. Which is just dumb. And I found myself, like, you know, drawn to its stupidity. And, you know, I was drawn to it, Saved by the Bell. That was good. Good times. You know, I enjoyed it so much. I even watched The College Years.
for one season it was on. It was? That was a couple of seasons. Was it on two seasons? Yeah, dude. Was it called something different? Saved by the bell of the college years. The rocks on those people. Former NFL player Bob Golick. That's it. Eddie, I do remember that then. He was a teacher, right? He was like a resident advisor. Yeah. Lovable, too, right? That's a guess. Big lug. Lovable guy. Big lug. I mean, resident advisor or something. Right. Wow. If you were to take a stab in the dark, Rob, that's... Rob's really into this. It doesn't matter if it's still on on Saturdays. It doesn't matter. Okay, now we're getting weird. Okay. I was working at KWSS 94.5 in San Jose, and I would have it on on the TV in the studio as I did mornings. No, no, no. Yeah, it was real early mornings at KWSS. That's awesome. 570-1053 is our phone number, and if you want, you can text us at 35253. Give us a call and get the phone lines ringing. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show, and I am 38 years old.
Last night, I had Phil's Barbecue. Oh, really? Dude, are they good, man? They're the best. They're real good. What brought you down to that neck of the woods? It wasn't that. I had to come back to the radio station last night, and I wanted to meet with the AMCO folks, the AA, Beep Beep, MCO. Why would you take it anywhere else? Why would you take it anywhere else? I've heard that. And... They had it catered? Yeah, well, guess who did? Russell. Microsoft. He's so good. For as dumb as that guy is, he's smart. That is the truth. You know what I mean? Like he gets it done. And so, yeah, it was cool. So that Phil's barbecue, I don't know what's up with Phil, but he gets it, you know? He really knows what he's doing. He is. He is smoky and savory. He's old. He's a little tangy, too. He's kind of tangy, yeah.
And I can't remember where I read it. It was some local San Diego thing. Either the Reader or San Diego Magazine or something said that Phil's is the number one barbecue place in San Diego. How do you like that? So try out Phil's Barbecue, whom I do not advertise for, but I hope he's hearing this. I hope they bring us food on Friday. That's right. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy, and he is 35 years of age. Uh, he is, uh, expecting in the month of July. And, uh, depending on when the child is born in the month of July, that would astrologically, or is that what they say? What you're, what is your, what they call it? Your, uh, um, yeah, your horoscopily. He will horoscopily be cancer. That's what my dad is. My dad's a cancer. You're a cancer. Yeah. I like cancers. My brother. Your brother? Which one? I'll guess. Oh, I was going to guess. Go ahead, guess. Al? Is it Al? Al, look at you. You're on fire. Jeez, what are tonight's lotto numbers? That's right. So there it is. And Skye is our news girl. She is 31. I'm telling you guys. Let me tell you. Don't laugh at me, Eddie. Don't you?
Do it. It was an accident. What'd you do? Oh, dude. We all have accidents. So I'm sitting this morning at the computer in the office and I'm doing some work. Yeah. And all of a sudden I hear this loud bang. Yeah. I'm like, what the heck was that? I turn around and Skye is like rubbing her head. And I'm like, what did you do? And she's like, I bang my head right into the, uh, that open, you know, cabinet. Yeah. It's the worst. Whacked it. Really? Because it was loud. Oh, it was so loud. How'd you do that? Well, so it's an overhead, you know, cabinet. And then when you pull the thing open, it like sticks out. You know, when you pull the cover open or whatever. Pulls up goal wing style. It doesn't open like a cabinet at your house. No. Right. And so it sticks out. And I put some creamer in my coffee and I spilt a little. And right under that cabinet is where we keep the paper towels. And so I'm walking over, and I'm just looking at the paper towels, and I literally walk straight into that thing. Like, don't even know it exists. Oh, ouch. Yeah, like, there's a little bump there. It hurts when you touch it. I immediately took, like, a handful of Tylenol. Oh, wow. A handful? Yeah, like 17 of them. Oh, wow. That was a doozy this morning. So, good morning. You all right now? Man. Well, it still hurts.
There's going to be a little bump there. It's a little tender. I'm not going to lie. How's your vision? A little blurry. A little blurry. A little blurry. What's going on? We're talking here. Thanks for your concern. That's right. It's all right. Ashley is our assistant producer. She looks good in yellow. Thank you. And she is 25 years old. Banana-rific. That's right. She's very banana-rific. All right. And Boston Rob is our temporary phone screener until we get an intern. And that's right. Please. I know. We need it. I want you back in here. I want to make jokes. Yes. Well, that room, like, makes him crazy. It's something about this room, dude. The feng shui in here is... What did he just say? There were so many things wrong with that. What did he just say? He said the feng shui is off. What's the matter? In the rum. In the rum. Yeah, he's got it right. He's got it right, you guys. Okay. That's how you say it. Yeah, feng shui. Yeah, what's up with it? Pick up a book, you people. Yeah, please, you people. Educate yourselves a little bit. Seriously. Anyway, we want to get B-Rob back in here. Yeah. In case you're just getting back into town.
Sean and Zeth got laid off with all the clear channel layoffs. Layoff? And so, yeah, boo. So now there's five of us. And that's the deal. Hey, let's open up the phone lines to you. 570-1053 is the number. Our text number is 35253. And we're going to have audio here pretty soon. I can't even believe it. We're getting it worked out. And on top of that, I think our program director's back here today. I like it. And we'll have working water, from what I understand. Yeah, running and working water. That's weird. The only thing, we're still operating with no fans in the men's bathroom, which is just delightful. Just delightful. You know? It's really lovely. It's lovely. P1 Jessica. Good morning. What's up?
Okay, so I wanted to comment on Saved by the Bell because, sadly, I'm one of those people that still watches it. And it's on every morning on TBS from 7 to 9. Yeah. And that's Married with Children, Saved by the Bell, and then Dust Creek. Wow. Pretty good morning. And although the college years suck, it did lead to Zach and Kelly's one-hour Las Vegas wedding special. Oh, my God. You know way too much. I didn't even know that. Here we go. My issue with it is I guess they decided what they were going to do was let's do like a 1950s sort of rockabilly. It works. Yeah, sock hop kind of deal. That was the theme. It's good. 570-1053 is the number. Give us a call. P1. Matt is on the line. Matt Damon. Hi, Matt. Hi. What's up? I got to talk about these auto companies real fast. My wife and I went over to this dealership last night, and the sales manager, they wouldn't work with us on a price at all, but the sales manager had bought for him by the company a brand new 2009 vehicle.
It's like a $60,000 vehicle that he gets to drive around. But they need bailout money. I don't know that those guys buy those vehicles. Usually, when they're in management positions, they get demos. Right, right, right. Well, we talked to them because we were looking at the demo to buy. And it's only worth, say, $25,000 is the value on it. And they're like, well, we've got $30,000 into it. We bought it for this guy. Really? Yeah, well, what are we doing buying vehicles for our sales managers that they got, you know, more money than they're worth into them and they need bailout money? Hey, brother, let me tell you, you know, depending on where you go, depending on where you go, that'll be the case. That is a bummer to hear that that's what happened there. I can tell you because I, you know, I know for a fact because I asked about it and he said, no, I'm selling that. is the general manager at BMW Encinitas, and he drives a demo, and I asked him, hey, dude, can I drive that? I want to see what it's like. And he said, no, I'm selling it. In fact, I sold it, and the guy's coming to pick it up. And so he'll drive it, but if somebody wants to buy it, it's gone. And so in the same situation you were in, if you had wanted to buy it, he just sold it to you right then and there. And that's what we were looking at.
But they were still asking $4,000 or $5,000 more than what it was worth. They would not let it go for anything. Where did you go? Don't tell me the exact place, but what kind of car? It was a Chrysler. Yeah. And you know, yeah, dude, that's kind of a bummer, man. We were just really mad about it last night. You know, this guy's driving around what was originally a $50,000 vehicle for free. They're not doing well, and they want more birds in the car. That's weird, man. That is weird. All right, dude. Thanks. Have a good day. See you. I know a guy that just got a new Dodge, and they wanted 18.5 for this Dodge. He got them to 13.5. Wow. Yeah. What a deal. That's a screaming deal. Now, was that for the Dodge Whistler? It was for the Whistler. I mean, yeah, it was for the Whistler. See, not my favorite vehicle. What? It makes a lot of noise. It does. But that thing hauls, man. I'll tell you that. It does. It is fast. Oh, the Whistler. So good. Well, and then Sky was saying that for the first time in 77 years,
Right, Sky? Did I get that number right? Yeah. First time in 77 years, what? General Motors is no longer the world's top automaker. 77 years, man. That actually surprises me that they have been the top. What would you have thought would be the world's top automaker? Toyota, some sort of Japanese. Apparently, GM may see... Here's the deal. A lot of cars fall under the GM name. Yeah, that's true. Under the umbrella, Ella, Ella, Ella, you know? And I think that's part of it. Yeah, and so they said Toyota is now number one selling more cars and trucks worldwide last year than GM. Me and Eddie were right. There it is. 570-1053 is our number. You can call about any particular topic that you'd like. It's open phone, so you decide. What the topic is. Jason, are you there? Hey, guys. P1 Jason. What are we talking about? What did you think of loss last night? Oh, my God. Here we go. Jason. Here we go. Jason. I was a little let down. Oh. No way. Skye is staring at Eddie with her mouth. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, wow. Skye just. We can't put that on the radio, Skye. It's a good thing you only mouthed that. Eddie is guarding. He's guarding his eyes right now. He's avoiding eye contact with Skye.
He's avoiding eye contact. He's putting his hand up. Oh, I'm such an elitist. I knew this was going to happen. Oh, my TV has to be, oh. I knew this was going to happen. Oh, no. I was prepared for not good. Mike, this is not good. Mike, I was prepared for this. You were? Yes. Oh, my God. Because you knew it was going to be bad when you said it. I'm okay. I'm okay. I know you're concerned. I'm okay. You can weather this. I'm fine. I'm fine. You can weather it. I'm fine so far. You can weather this. It hurts, but I'm fine. Oh, my God. You hanging in there? It hurts, but it feels so good. What is your problem? Can I just? Please have an opinion that's different than yours. Well, wait a second. Wait a second. Obviously, Eddie disappointed. Obviously, Sky a little disappointed. Jason, where do you fall on this? I'm about in the middle on the episode. It was still good, but I enjoyed it. So you're kind of somewhere between Eddie and Sky. Well, if it's good and you enjoyed it, what's the problem? What's going on then?
It was how they were doing the flashbacks and the present. It's a lot different right now. It's not art. You know how I like my sandwich like I like my sandwich. I like my lost like I like my lost. It was strange. It was a strange episode. Any episode of Lost is good. I enjoy watching any episode of Lost. But... There was a lot of stuff with the island jumping around in time that I wasn't... That doesn't explain what... Anyway, go ahead. You're not entirely correct there, sweetheart. But I don't like it. I don't like it. And I don't like the fact that the main characters, the Oceanic Six, are off the island. I'm kind of over that already. I want them back on the island. They're working on it, bro. And there wasn't any big reveals. You know, I mean, you know, I watched the recap show the hour prior to the episode. Right. And, you know, they had the two producers on there and they were talking about it. And they say, you know, oh, this season's going to be great. It's going to be answering all your questions and more answers than questions this year and blah, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, really? Well, not in episode one. Jason, you feeling this too? It's going to take time. I say give it.
Thank you. Maybe five more episodes and they'll start answering more questions, I'm thinking. Sky, you were very pleased. Oh, I loved it. And, of course, they're not going to answer all the questions in the first episode. Like, please. I mean, come on. I'm not expecting them to answer every question. Eddie, out of five stars. I'll say three. Jason, out of five stars. I'll say three and a half. Sky? Four. Wow. It's a huge difference. It is. Unreal. It is. There's only five stars, bro. That's right. Every star counts. Every half star counts. Are you kidding? That's what I'm saying. It was good, but, you know, I wanted more. I really did. It's unreal. And Sawyer with no shirt for like three-fourths of the episode, please. Yeah, Eddie, why didn't you like that part? Why would I like that? Did you see that, Eddie? Take a note of that. Let me see if this audio will play and if I can get this going. Oh, so good.
The answer to that is no. I think I could play it from mine if you wanted me to. Eddie, explain this first clip that we're going to hear. The clip is about Ben telling Jack to pack his suitcase. The Oceanic Six learned at the end of last season that they need to go back to the island because a lot of bad things are happening. you know, everybody could die if they don't get back to the island because they were never supposed to leave. So Ben and Jack, which is weird, are working together to gather the Oceanic Six to get back to the island. Okay. So that's what they're talking about. And I'm going to try one more time. Try it out, man. Well, that one will. Okay. Ah, here we go. Ah, yes. Ah, yes. Nice and loud, right? I hear something. Oh, how's that sound, guys? What do you guys think of that audio? I can't really hear anything. Is that pretty good? Yeah, no. Very faint. Oh, yeah, Jack, I agree. Wait. Almost worked out. It was close. Hey, look, we're 3% there. Hey. We'll get there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Another 97% and it'll be like a home run. Yeah. We're there. You know? Exactly. But we, you know, we hit the ball a quarter to the way to the pitcher's mound. Yeah, yeah. Eventually, it'll leave the ballpark. Oh. Yeah.
Let's give it some time. Jason, thank you. All right, guys. Appreciate it. All right, take it easy. Yeah, I hope you enjoyed our take. Let's see. P1 Sooners fan is on the line. Hey, good morning here, buddy. What's going on, man? Man, you know, I'm just kind of getting settled into my second day without our guys, man. And I'd just like to say that this would have never happened if Bush was in office. Oh, wow. That's not true. It would have never happened, you mean, if Bush was not in office? No, no, I'm saying if Bush was still in office, we'd still have death. That is true. That is not true. Bush created these problems. Obama signed their layoff paper. That is not true. Bush created this stupid economy. It was cruel. What a jerk. It's the worst. For anything. In fact, he sprinted to the room where you signed him. Unbelievable. He couldn't wait to do it. It was his first act. First act. He couldn't wait to fire Zeth and Sean. No. Thank you for being a good American, P1 Sooners fan. I appreciate it, guys. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. P1 Scooby. Good morning. Good morning. What's going on, dude?
Well, I wanted to talk a little bit about what you guys first talked about this morning. Say by the bell. Yes. You have to agree with me. Tell me you had the hots for Kelly Kapowski. Oh, she's fantastic. I don't know that she was my favorite. I think my personal fave was Jesse Spano. No way. Over Kelly Kapowski? That's Mike's type. He likes the nerdy hot girls. Nerdy pretty girl. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I like the skank. I was all about Kelly. Kelly wasn't skanky, was she? Oh, well. I thought she was a good girl. She was a good girl. She pretended to be Mike, but we know what was going on. She is my idol. Did you see how she dressed? Did you see that? Oh, cute. She dressed cute. Yeah. Loved it. It was a little tight. Did you guys watch the junior high days? Yes. I did not. I thought it. No, I didn't. I didn't know there was junior high days. There was, Ash? Oh, yeah. Hailey Mills, I think, you know, the teacher. Yeah. Was the teacher, the old parent trap kid. Mm-hmm. Yes. She was the teacher in junior high days. With the same cast or different cast? They had Zach and Screech and... Lisa. Yeah, but A.C. Slater was played by some, like, little Italian dude. Yeah. He was like Vinny from Dookie House. Oh, okay. What the...
I don't think, like, Jesse was there yet. That's right. I wonder if there's anybody listening over 40 that understands what we're saying. Because I love this. If they have kids, they would, because I watched it all growing up. All right, Scoob. Thank you, bro. Some text messages that we're getting. Mikey, at least we found out the old lady is Locke's mom. That's P1 Red Sox. Did you like that? I don't remember seeing the old lady before. Yeah. I was like, I know I have, but I couldn't remember what. I couldn't place her. Yeah. So they revealed something that was a mystery for approximately two seconds. Yes. Like, oh, who's that? Oh. You just told me. Yeah. Mikey, I think auto dealerships are privately owned. That's P1 Aaron. Good morning, Mikey. Since you are on the subject of old TV shows, they ruined.
The Price is Right. Drew Carey just isn't energetic enough. He went Nottingham. Dude. Well, Bob Barker, you know, man, he was into it. There was no doubt. I mean, he made Plinko like the most amazing. most compelling thing to ever happen. Yeah, I saw this clip once of Drew Carey where somebody won both showcases because they got the price dead on, and that, like, never, ever happens. And Drew Carey's like, oh, congratulations. Hey, look at you. That's great. That's lovely. That's nice. Come on. He's not even there. Paul Barker was 125. It's not like he can do it forever. Wait, they're putting Dick Clark on. rocking New Year's Eve. That's true. Dick still's got it, man. Hey, I ain't fighting on that. That's the truth. You gotta define it. How many times? Hey, Mikey, I just gave my girlfriend the satchel of sissy feelings for her birthday. That's a good one. And she loved it. That's P1L Hugo. First of all, it's called the memory jar. It is?
And it's something that I gave to my wife, Rebecca, when she was still my girlfriend. It was a mason jar full of memories that I had created with her. And yes, it was a bit sissy. But, you know, hey, listen, that sucker works, man. She loves me. Thank you. Mikey, Boy Meets World is greater than Saved by the Bell. No, come on. How dare you? It's a great show, but not true. Mikey called Kaiser about Skye's head being bumped. They said urine. Oh, wow. Okay, that's hilarious. Compress it for the swelling. That is hilarious. It's P1 Hootie and the Blowfish. That's good. Oh, Hootie and the Toefish. P1 Hootie and the Toefish. Stupid. The reason he said that is because Skye called the Kaiser Healthline one time for her sunburn. She did? Yes, and the person on call said to use urine and it would...
relieve the stinging sensation that she had. So, you're in for a sunburn. I don't know that we could go there. I don't know that we could go there. You just had to push the button on Rob. I enjoyed it. I know. On Rob. Hey, listen. I am trying. He works on the show. I know. I am grieving. He should know better. Listen, let me tell you something. Hitting the button is going to be funnier for listeners to hear than what he actually said. Oh, my gosh. The fact that they had to... I am in grieving. I'm in grieving. That means he's trying to work out his thoughts because he's still in grieving. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I am in grieving. He is in grieving. Oh, the intolerance around here. This one says, hey, Sky, white wine and ice cream is great for head injuries, or so I hear. Oh, thank you. I'll give that a try. Give that a try. You want me to run out for you? Oh, what about that one? What do you think about that one? Yeah. 570-1053 is our phone number. I feel like stabbing somebody. Whoa. That's what that music makes you feel? Well, right after the premiere, you know, everybody got busy shanking people. That is true. It's notorious. It's the notorious big, ladies and gentlemen. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Today on the show, we're going to be doing a little thing called Tough Love with Eddie.
That's right. We have an email today about, you know, how do you feel? It doesn't matter who you are. You could be working a job in construction. First of all, I met with the folks from Amco last night. And they said, dude, you got a great mom and dad. Because I sent my mom and dad in there. I go there. And I believe and trust in Amco. And that's what I...
I told them last night. I was sitting there with them last night, and I said, I really, really believe in your company. And at the point when my dad's going there, my brother, I've sent my brother, sent my neighbor, Kate. And the deal is that a lot of people, especially with these new cars, with newer cars, cars that have been made within the last 10 years or 15 years, when you have those cars, a lot of times the transmission on those cars, you won't really know that there's something going on. Unless that check engine light comes on. Transmission is a part of the car that does what your legs do. And so if you want it done right and you don't want the job messed up, go to Amco. Amco knows what they're doing when it comes to transmissions. And they also know what's going on when it comes to oil changes and brakes and tune-ups and cooling systems. And their techs have been working there for a long time. They know what they're up to. It's double A. Beep, beep. MCO. Why would you take it anywhere else? Hey, it's Boston Rob from The Mikey Show. Limited terms, operands 2209. You buy Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Looking pretty decent on our freeways. We do have that usual backup, though, developing out of Escondido right now into South 15. That's slow from the 78 on down to around just past Felicita when you're back up to speed there. Rest for freeways are looking pretty good, but if you're coming into town through Camp Pendleton, there's a bad accident on South 5 just before those truck scales there at the Border Patrol checkpoint. And that's blocking the slow lane, and traffic isn't backing up on the approach there, so be careful. The board of wait is still about two hours at San Ysidro. Dan McLaurence on Rock 105.3. I'm going to do it in a song, Eddie. All right. I want you to take special note of this. My name is Neil. Haven't always had a good night's sleep. Especially with my first wife, Karen. She tried to suffocate me on about four different occasions. Whoa, really? She couldn't stand me and wanted my money. Oh. But that's why I divorced her and got rid of that mattress that represented weird stuff. Okay. Sleep. I needed sleep. I went to sleep train.
And they hooked me up because I went in there before two. They delivered the same day. You better be listening. You listening, Eddie? I'm listening. They went in there before two. I heard you. And they delivered it to my house. Yeah. My fat manager, Maury, was there, and he helped out. He helped you move? No, he helped them into the house. Oh. He's got a key to your place? Yes, and I was there. I was just passed out in the kitchen. Oh, that's... Thank God for Maury. Thanks, Maury. Fat guy in the Blackberry. Oh, that's not nice. Hey, well, I just wanted to call and let Sky know.
How her boy Obama has already royally managed to screw us all over. Oh, no. What? Obama. Don't say it. What did he do? Well, and I know that Rob was wondering about this. When Bush was in office first, he threatened offshore drilling, which made the Middle East lower the oil, which all lowered our gas prices over here. So that's why it was getting so low. Being in office for 24 hours, Obama vetoed offshore drilling, which raised the prices back up over in the Middle East, which raised gas prices over here nine cents. Skye, I want my nine cents. Skye, I'm going to help you and not help you at the same time. I'm going to help you by saying it was not necessarily the offshore drilling. It was about something called... Futures. Futures are investing in what you believe the demand of the gas will be. See, when the gas prices went up, it wasn't really about supply and demand. What it was about was what people believed that that gas would be worth. So they were pumping all this money into it. They believed it would be worth a lot. And what could be happening is that the futures are being affected because of the offshore drilling thing. But it doesn't.
It's not about supply and demand per se. It's about the futures and what people believe that supply and demand will be. Yeah, like if we actually did offshore drilling, I could see this woman's claim about prices dropping. But just talking about doing it isn't going to make the prices drop. And, yeah, I'm happy Obama, you know, won't do offshore drilling because I don't want our environment to be ruined. And you seem to forget all the money he's going to put into alternative energy to get us off oil altogether. So when you're paying, you know, 12 cents, you know, like an equivalent to 12 cents a gallon to power your car when all cars are electric, who freaking cares what the price of gas is then? I don't. Come on, we're thinking bigger. We're thinking bigger here, lady. Thanks, Lindsay. I'm happy about what he's doing. Scott, you saw the movie Who Killed the Electric Car, right? Yes, I did. Okay. Now, it's very clear who killed the electric car in the movie Who Killed the Electric Car. It was George Bush, right? It was a combination of things. I mean, it was basically the auto industry being in bed with the oil companies. Right. It's basically what it was. It's big business killing something. But Bush didn't have anything to do with that, right?
Well, there were things going on. I don't remember specifically. It was a long time ago I watched it. But there were requirements for auto companies to do alternative fuel vehicles. And then I believe it was the Bush administration who said, oh, we don't need these requirements anymore. And that's when certain GM went from their, you know, alternative fuel vehicles to putting all their money into Hummers. Well. So it was a combination of things. Like, you can't blame just one person in that. But mainly big business. Right. That's the culprit. Well, if Bush wanted to, he couldn't have had any effect on that. No, he could have. They could have. The Bush administration could have kept legislation pushing the auto companies to invest in alternative fuel. He could. Yes. Okay, perfect. Well, then what that must mean is that within the next four years, forget four, let's say eight years, electric cars will be commonplace. Well, electric cars will be available. You know, it's up to you to get rid of your gasoline car and to purchase an electric car over a gasoline car. But you'll be able to buy them real easily. It's going to be a gradual process that Obama wants to implement, yes. Okay.
Listen. Things like that can't be done overnight. Well, I'm not suggesting that. Today's the 22nd. I don't believe by the 23rd it'll be available. It's insane. I don't believe it'll be available maybe even this year. Let's say that. But if Obama isn't about just blah, blah, blah and saying things that just sound cool, you know, if he's about actual substance, what we'll see is we'll see electric cars readily available. You can get them. And, Skye, I'm going to be completely honest with you. I hope so. I do, too. I really do. Yeah, they're the future. What about hovercrafts? Eddie, we're having a serious conversation here. Well, I mean, I'm thinking that that's the next. That is not the next. What if it is? I'm down. He did not promise hovercrafts. I think he did. I don't remember that. Did you hear that he did? I heard he did. That was not a campaign promise. Where did you hear it? BombDay.com. That's the best store ever. My guess is true. Text us, 35253. They saved me so much money. Very, very nice. When did you call them?
Oh, shoot, like five days ago. And I just went in yesterday and got it all set up. How much money did they save you? They saved me $2,000 a year. Here's the thing, man, all right? I got back for my third tour in Iraq in October, okay? Saved up like a whole lot of money, right? And I went out and bought myself a 98 Corvette Z06. I was with USAA. I was paying almost $5,000 a year because I'm 23 years old, man. They were raping me for insurance. And you switched to AIS, and now you're saving $2,000 a year. P1-ish. Do the math. I think he's got a point there. One plus one equals black guy. Mikey, what fuel will create the electric? That's P1 wizard work. I don't understand that. What fuel will create the electric? Like they're saying, oh, you have to burn coal to...
Create electricity or hydropower, you know, water power or solar power. So there's lots of different ways to make electricity. I'll tell you why that's dumb. How do you really feel? No, no, no. Well, let me tell you. Because, I mean, in comparison to, you know what I mean? And with those things, yeah, I mean, it depends what standpoint you're coming from. Because if you're talking coal, that's bad for the environment. But at the same time, at least we can mine coal here. We're not having to go to, you know, Saudi Arabia to get coal. So it depends which way you're looking at things. What about in the movie Saturn 3 when they went to the third moon of Saturn called Europa? and they were able to mine stuff on that moon. Maybe we can do that. That would be really cool. Never seen said documentary. Well, this documentary came out with the use of the narration of Sean Connery, who was in the documentary film. Thank you very much. It's true. Mikey, I almost drove off the 15. Neil needs to do more commercials. That's P1LPG. Mikey, remember the Saved by the Bell episode where they worked at a beach resort for the summer? That's P1ML. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Both. Both. That was awesome. Okay, good. P1 Daniel-san is on the line. Hi, Daniel-san. Hey, Mikey. What's happening, bro? What's going on, dude? Hey, man. I got a cool story to tell you about an experience that happened to me last night.
sitting at a bar minding my own business and uh this guy next to me was having a conversation and he he goes that's crazy sound effect that uh that sean used to always do and i that's crazy there it is dude i'm like you listen to the mikey show and he's like oh yeah man i listen to the mikey show and then the girl next to him's like Oh, yeah, P1. I'm like, yeah, I'm a P1, too. And then it just, like, spread like a wildfire. Sweet. Everybody's like, oh, yeah, dude, I'm a P1. I'm a P1. That's rad. Where were you? Yeah, I was in a bar in Oceanside. Right on. And then, of course, the conversation turned to, you know, the dismissal of Sean and Zach, and we talked about how unfortunate that was. So my conclusion is I guess it was such a bummer day yesterday that it drove all the P1s to a bar in Oceanside. get their Chardonnay on. That's right. Sky knows how that goes. Every once in a while, you have to get your Chardonnay on. Sorry for your loss. I just wanted to let you know there's a lot of P1s out there that care about you guys. Like I said, and about the loss of Sean and Zedd. Cheers to you guys and continue doing a great show. Thank you, brother. I really appreciate that. We all do, man. Thanks, dude. P1 Steven, what's up?
Hey, Mikey, I got kind of a rebuttal for what Sky was saying a little bit ago about the oil and everything. Fight. I don't want to fight. There we go. Ding, ding, ding, ding. It's 7 o'clock. I bumped my head. Oh, she bumped her head. Okay, go ahead. I worked in the oil field, and I was a little put off by Sky talking about it being environmentally unsafe and everything to be doing offshore drilling. There's a couple reasons why. First off, at least in the company I work for, we're all incredible environmental stewards. We never had one spill. Secondly, it's been proven that because of fissures in the Earth's crust underneath the ocean, more oil leaks out naturally into the ocean than has ever been spilled by man. Thirdly, with Obama doing this and canceling offshore drilling, now that's costing some more American jobs. Now, on the electric car thing, I want to know... There's going to be more green jobs created, though. Okay, okay, fair enough. Now, where are we going to get all the electricity to power every American? Solar, wind, hydro. Now, California and Death Valley, Arizona, areas like that are going to be the best places for it. Yeah, we're stoked. What happens on cloudy days? Furthermore, what happens to all the land that gets taken up? What about all the, you know, little creepy crawlies and stuff like that that are protected by the environment?
animal rights groups. Yeah, but like I was just reading in the paper the other day, like Solana Beach is going to do this awesome thing where you can roll the price of solar panels into your property tax. And so you'll pay it as part of your property tax. And when you sell your house, that rolls over. So if more cities start to do cool things like that, it'll be affordable for everybody to have solar panels. And then all you're going to do is you're going to come home, you're going to plug in your car and... It's going to be awesome, dude. Hey, man, if this becomes a reality, I'm all for it. It's going to be awesome. I'm all for it, too. I don't think it's realistic. I don't either. Honestly, I don't either. I hope it is. I think the best thing to do is for people to stop buying gas-guzzling vehicles. Yeah, definitely. And for the auto companies to start making more fuel-efficient vehicles. We have the technology to make fuel-efficient vehicles. They don't want to. Yeah. So I think that's where President Obama should be focusing his efforts. is on forcing them to use the technology we have to be better with what resources we've got. That's all. But I just wanted to just point out that all you can say is for the company I work on, the rig I worked on, that we took very seriously environmental regulations and we're very, very careful. And I know that's true. There's companies that care a lot, but there's also been accidents that have really devastated, you know.
parts of the ocean. You don't want to hear about that. I appreciate that, dude. Thank you, man. That's P1 Steven. Sounds like a bunch of voodoo to me. I don't know. What do you mean, Eddie? What are you saying? A bunch of gobbledygook. That's weird. I was watching a little TV yesterday and I'll tell you, I really hope that CNN and Obama got a prenup because they are definitely in love right now. They're in the honeymoon phase. It's adorable how much they love. How in love they are. They're in love. There are a lot of hopeful people out there right now.
I love it. Match.com, I think. Yeah, I think they met on Match. And it was a match made in heaven. It's a perfect match. Yeah. And no bias. Definitely no bias on that, CNN. And they were following... Neither with that Fox News. They were following him around... They're fair and balanced. They were following him around everywhere. Just because their slogan doesn't make it true. Slogo? I mean their slogan. Slogo? What is their slogan? What's their slogan? Shut up. That's what I meant. You jerks. Well, listen. It's an awesome time, Mike, okay? Definitely. No doubt. Obama's all. He's done with the inauguration. Are the inauguration parties over, by the way? Are they still partying? No, yeah. That was all over. It was a big day, you know, the other day on Tuesday. Started early in the morning and went late, late into the night. Somebody scratched a record. Yeah, I don't know why. I got Rob practicing on the ones and twos. What did you do, Rob? Well, you plug your iPod into this thing. Okay. I know. My phone is ringing. I'll get it. Hello? It's President Obama. Oh, what? I love you. I love you, too. You're so handsome. I love you, and I love you, and I love you, too. Yeah, I'm pumped up. Very special day for me. I was taken aback that first day walking into the Oval Office.
I just wanted to call in today and talk about what an incredibly special day it was for me. This is crazy. I mean, you had your first full day. The inauguration was amazing. You know, Eddie, even with all the speeches and the bulls, I want the American people to remember that I... I'm just a normal guy, just like everyone else. Here we go. You've been trying to tell us that for a while. I believe it. I've definitely heard that. That's true. I woke up this morning, Eddie, just like you. I had the Secret Service brush my teeth. Okay, wait. Just like you. That's not like me. I had Nancy Pelosi trim my nose hair. That's not like me. Just like you. No, I don't do it. All right, all right. Eddie, I want to make it perfectly clear. Oh, man. I put my Armani suit on one leg at a time. I don't even own an Armani suit. I barely own a suit. That's true. You guys, I had my shark omelet before heading to the office this morning, just like you did. I've never had it. Well, I don't know that I'd want a shark omelet. They're delicious. My point is that we are not that different. We are just the same. As a matter of fact, Oprah.
At the inauguration, kept asking me what her position in the cabinet was going to be. Nothing, I hope. That scares me. I support that. And then she kept asking me when I was going to give every American a new car. Oh, well, that's her thing. Yes. Barack, I don't... Awesome. I mean, are you going to do that? I can't wait. I actually think I am, yes. Really? I don't think we have the money for that, President Obama. And you get a car, and you get a car, and you get a car. Oprah, are you there? Oh, no. That was me. I have to tell you, I really enjoy mingling with the American people. Yeah? Because they are real people. Really? True. At my table, I was mingling just with regular folks. Yeah? Jessica, Alba, and Diddy. Those aren't regular people. They were. That's just regular people, just like me and you. We all do the same thing. You go to dinner with Jessica Alba. I go to dinner with Jessica Alba. I'd love to, but no, I never. I'm good. No. I don't mean to gossip here. Okay. It's going to be good, whatever this is. I don't mean to gossip, but I have to talk about President Bush and the condition that we found the White House in when we. Oh, really?
Well, it was a trouble. When I walked into our closet in the bedroom, Michelle and I had to dismantle a waffle maker. What the hell? In the closet? Why? That's a great idea. Apparently, Bush had one in there, and he had a waffle thing, and it was embarrassing. That is weird. I think it's a great idea. You should have left that. My daughters wanted to move into their rooms just last night, and they couldn't. Oh, what? When they went to put their clothes in the closet, there was no room. And the reason was because there was a huge urinal in there to cover the color of the Texas flag. Oh, wow. That's bizarre. That's a weird stuff going on there. Yuckers. I'm very pleased to report to all Americans that when the galas ended a couple of nights ago, thankfully, they ended on a high note. Both Hillary and I smoked marijuana.
Barack, I don't think you should. Was that Bill's idea? I bet it was. Bill actually lit the lighters. I don't doubt that. That's not good. I don't mean to talk out of school here. But what Bush said to me before he got on that helicopter was a bit odd. Really? What did he say? He looked at me and he said, good luck. Fresh Prince. He said, I left you a doobie in the top drawer of the desk in the Oval Office. That's kind of cool. And then he said, you're going to need it. That is true. I'd always heard that he was a prankster, but I didn't know he was anything like this. I was shocked to find.
that he had actually gone through the entire White House, and he had put saran wrap on every toilet. Oh, man. Every toilet. Son of a gun. But that's okay, because as he was getting on the helicopter, actually, I put a sticky note on his back that said, kick me, I ruined America. Awesome, dude. That is awesome. Oh, man. I like you. Did you all see me mess up the oath? Yeah, that was bad. Well, that wasn't really your fault. It wasn't, Sky. It was actually the fault of all Americans. No, no, it was not. I'm just like you. I can mess up the oath of Oval Office. I can mess it. You guys mess it up. I mess it up. Sky, every once in a while doing the news. Hey, I'm your biggest supporter. I'm just pointing it out. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. Thank you for saying that. Do you all think I should send the video of me flubbing the oath to America's Funniest Home Video? No. I think I might have a shot at that 10 grand. You know, it was interesting. When I walked in the door of the White House for the first time ever, a shoe fell on my head.
Eddie was back. Yes. Gotcha. That's breaking the books right there, Obama. And then, uh, Mikey had that happen to him, too. You don't have to rub that in. No, Obama, that happened to Mike. Oh, man. Finally. It was weird, Eddie, because then I walked into the master bedroom. Yeah. And our bed was nailed to the ceiling. That was one of Eddie's ideas, too. It wasn't a big deal. I got out my hammer. I detached the bed. I got into my Hanes cotton PJs. All right, show off. Am I? Hopped into the bed just in time for Jeopardy. You go to bed at 730? I do. I do. The reason I go to bed at 730, Eddie, and the reason that I take out my hammer and detach the bed from the ceiling is because I'm just like everybody else. Enough. It's true. We've heard. They all find it troubling that when I went in the backyard, there was a bunch of papier-mâché balls covering the trees, and I thought this was kind of weird. What?
MC Hammer's Everybody Dance Now was playing on repeat in the background. That's really strange. MC Hammer didn't do that song. Cardboard boxes all over there. Is that right? I thought it was MC. No, it wasn't. It was Little Jeezy, right? No. I think it was C&C Music Factory. You're not as hip as I thought you were. No, Brock, you're right. Little Jeezy. Why don't we all break out some cardboard and dance like the Pimp Five? What do you think? Join the P1 Text Army. Text Mikey to 35253. Standard rate supply. It's the P1 Text Army. Other rides looking pretty typical out here this morning. You will find a heavy backup, though, in the northbound 5 now. As you come past the 78 through Oceanside, there's an accident involving a motorcycle down in the slow lane right around the 76 here. That's causing a heavy backup on the approach, so be careful if you're heading that direction. Heading south of the 5, you've still got that one accident working here in San Onofre right around just before the truck scales. Blocking the slow lane, that's caused a backup there. And farther south, now some looky-loos going around that motorcycle accident on the northbound side there. A little farther south as you head down the North County shoreline, the heavy brake lights now coming down from right around Lucadia into Solana Beach. Southbound 715, you've got the heavy back up now from the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. Westbound 52, starting to pick up some brake lights up the hill out of Santee. Featuring Mikey. I have to check my email constantly. Eddie. I am maybe the world's worst handyman. Sky. Even SUVs. I'm still going to go for a hybrid. I love the Democrats. You're obviously sexist. That was uncalled for. What? And... I could end. Accurate. I could not. There was no downloading of songs at that time. I was thinking about how old we sound, man. We were around before you downloaded stuff. Oh, yeah. You know what I'm saying? If you liked a song, you'd have to wait for it to play on the radio and hold your hand on the record and play button on your cassette player. Yeah, dude. And then nail it. And, of course, you'd screw it up every time. And you'd be so bummed because you wanted it just perfect. Yes. Every once in a while, you could.
Every once in a while. You nailed it. And you would put in your Chrome Maxell or Memorex tape and you would rock that song. Or you'd get real mad if the DJ wanted to talk over the part of the beginning part. Exactly. And you're like, come on, shut up, man. Don't do that. I hate that. Okay, so we said that we were going to give you the one pair of WEC tickets that we have. The one pair of WCE tickets that we have. So if you want to win them, answer this trivia question. Now, the trivia question could have multiple answers, but we have the one very particular answer in mind. And if you nail it, we'll give you the WEC tickets. The trivia question is, what is today the one-year anniversary of? I'll give you a hint. It's entertainment-based. What is today the one-year anniversary of? 570-1053.
570-1053. What is today? The one-year anniversary of. And I'd like to get several different answers, Rob. Get several different answers. Rob is screening our phone calls. The reason why he is is because Zeth, our phone screener, no longer with the show, neither is Sean. This text says, Mikey, what the heck? I haven't been able to listen since Monday, and now Sean and Zeth are gone? Please explain. That's P1 Jason. That's your fault for not listening. Please figure that part out. You got to keep listening or you never know who will be gone. You never know who will be gone. Come on. You're hurting. Don't take it out on other people. Well, Clear Channel had to do a thing on Tuesday where they liquidated some of their employees. And Sean and Zeth were a part of it. And we didn't. We didn't get to say to them, no, don't do that. Yeah. And it wasn't because, like, Sean and Zeth sucked or anything like that. It was just they had a list of bodies that they said, you know, you guys need to get rid of all these people. And that's how it went down. That's right. Let's see if we can get a couple of guesses on this. 570-1053 is our phone number. The one-year anniversary. P1 Dust, what is it?
Anniversary of the writer's strike. That is not the answer that we're looking for. It may be. I guess so. That is a good guess. That is a very good guess. 570-1053 is our phone number. What is today the one-year anniversary of? Go ahead, put him on hold. You can put him on hold, Rob. This, let's see. P1 Rick. Hey, what's up, Mikey? Hey, dude. Hey. Is it Heath Ledger dying? You got it. Oh, wow. Can you believe that? You believe it's been a year? I can't. One year. One year ago today is the anniversary of Heath Ledger dying. And, oh, man, I remember that. I think it was yesterday. You know what's weird is that, I mean, was it on the same caliber of news that things like...
the space shuttle exploding or elvis dying or big things like this or lennon getting shot was it on that same um uh like level of bigness because i remember exactly where i was when i found out do you guys oh yeah i do where were you eddie i think i was on the air no no no i have no idea sky um i was in the car driving home and i heard a dj say, this just in, we're still confirming this, but Heath Ledger has died. And I immediately got home and turned on the TV and it was all over CNN. And then probably, I don't know, I want to say about five minutes later, got a text from Mikey saying, oh my gosh, have you heard? And it's very rare that Mike, I mean, it has to be something huge for Mike and I to text each other about news stories. Ash, do you remember where you were? Yeah, I remember exactly where I was. Where? I was on my couch by myself with my dog. Really? I did not think that it was going to go this way. Watching TV. Oh, gosh. I'll be my lonesome. And then I got a text message from my friend. That's really sad. Who I'm no longer friends with, actually. Oh, wow. Lost another one in that battle. And she let me know via text. That's sad.
Ledger had passed away. That's a very sad story. It was sad that he passed away, Mike. I agree. What's more sad is that not much has changed any year. It's pretty crazy the irony that today is the day that the Oscar nominations came out and it's the anniversary of his death. Weird. So, Oscar nominations and hang on the line, bro. You're a winner. Alright, Rick? Hang on the line. What are we going to do, Sky? Are we going to get audio of them actually making the announcements? Because I forgot. Yeah, I have clips from the movies that they're nominated for, and Ashley's going to get those during the next commercial break for us. We actually have both. Let's do this. Let's do this then. In the next break, that's what you know you're going to hear. We don't have to break now, though. We still have time, right? We still have plenty of time. Just want to let you know, on our next break...
You're going to hear the nominations for Best Picture, and you're going to hear clips from those movies. We have clips from those movies. I don't know. We need this. Serious healing. No, no, no. We need healing. This is a perfect time. This is hurt. This is more hurt. It's all about healing. Mm-hmm. Skye, let me explain how this works for you, okay? Please do. Well, no, I don't. Emphasize the second part, the second word in this segment. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Skye's never missed a tough love in her life. I've been here for every single one. Sky, the way that this segment works is it's called Tough Love. Love. Love, Sky. With Eddie. Love, love, love, love, love. The idea being, Sky, that people write into Eddie and they ask him for advice. Willingly. Willingly. They want it. They email him. They email him. They email him. They want it. They want it. Gotta have it. It's not like Joe Citizen is at home opens their email inbox and Eddie wrote them a letter. It's not like that. No. No. No. No. No.
From it. So our first letter reads. Here we go. Let's jump right into it. Eddie, I took my girlfriend to P.F. Chang for our anniversary and she hated it. I was trying to remember. I was trying to remember where you said to go. I can't remember if you said that's where you should go for a nice dinner for your anniversary. My girl, Melissa, said she had never had Chinese food because she grew up in Oregon. I made her get chow mein, and she barely took two bites and only ate the rice. She said it was salty. She was all, it looks like worms. And she got all pouty. Oh, man. I got mad because she wanted Taco Bell after. I just went home and went to bed. What's up with your suggestion, bro? What? It's Bryce and Scripps Ranch.
Eddie? What's his name? Bryce. Your chicken fried Bryce. I gotta get this straight. Let me get this straight. Your girlfriend doesn't like Chinese food because she grew up in Oregon. I mean, what does that even mean? So they haven't invented the egg roll in Portland? Beaverton is still scratching their heads every time Yan Can Cook comes on TV? Seriously? They're like, what? What is this exotic recipe? I mean, it looks like pasta, yet it's cooked in some sort of metal pot over a high heat. It's crazy. Oh, well, back to Applebee's. What are you, dating an Amish girl? And she says, oh, it looks like worms and got pouty. What are you dating, Blossom?
This is a very special episode. All right, tell her to take off that hat and grow up, all right? Look, dude. I did suggest PMJ for your anniversary. I heard you did. But actually, a grown-up should be able to go there, so you're dating Punky Brewster. Oh, wait. Holy cow. Now, Skye. Now you can see, right? It was ridiculous. Now you get it. Now you get it. Now you get it. Now you get it. Love, love, love, love, love. You have to be picky about their food. It's okay. This email says... Are you from Oregon? So awesome. Hey, Eddie. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've been dating this girl for about five months now. Things have been going great. Oh, good. There's one thing that kind of grosses me out, though. She was napping on my couch the other day, and she farted in her sleep. No, that's the worst. I wouldn't know. She says, and bro, I'm not talking about a squeaker. This was full-blown beans and the magical fruit type of fart. She did not wake up. How was that positive? She did not wake up, and I do not have the nerve to tell her about it. Oh, boy.
He says, now when I see her, all I can think about is that. Any suggestions to help me get over it? Thanks, bro. That's P1 Taylor in Escondida. Eddie? Dear All's Quiet on the Western Fart. Listen, guy, as much as all of us guys don't want to admit it, on occasion, Ladies will have an occasional panty burp. He calls it a panty burp by the way. That's odd. It's a nicer way. It's the classy term. He's a real gentleman. I think so. Really, so Obama, if he was at the inaugural ball. He needs to grow up and be a man about this. There is no question.
That farts are funny. Yes. But when it's your girl, that may be another story. You mean you don't want your girl to be doing any rectal shout outs or smelling like a sweaty Ukrainian dance troupe. Shout out, Sean. Okay. Too soon. One love. Too soon. Too soon. Too soon. Fine. Too soon. You're right. I got off track. Too soon. Tell her. Here's what you want to do. Tell her if she turns into Gaseous Maximus again that she's gone like the wind. No pun intended. That's right. That's gorgeous. I can see it on schedule. She gets it now. She's had panty burps, too. I would never say that again. This is a little crude, isn't it? No, opposite. It's feminine. I like it. Feminine. Delicate. Has the word panty in it. Thank you. So adorable. You're welcome, Mike. Yes. This last email says. Oh, good. Another one. All right. Damn it. I can do more. Get him, Eddie. Says, dear Eddie, I am a 69-year-old listener to your show. Is that true? Yes. I am a 69-year-old listener to your show. I am guessing that makes me your oldest P1 person.
I don't like when you and Mikey do your voice impressions. Okay. Weird. It says, I don't know who half of them are. And the ones I do recognize, I don't think are very good. I don't think you sound at all like O.J. Simpson or George Bush. Great. I also think it is disrespectful to make fun of our president and governor. You guys should have more respect for men in office. Just men. Can you also do something with the girls on the show? Oh, no. Don't start. How dare you? They are very loud and very opinionated. Yeah. I'm sorry. We should speak when spoken to. I forgot. Maybe I should put it in the kitchen. I don't like it. Yuck. Other than that, I think.
It's a pretty good show. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Donald and Encinitas. Eddie? Dear old whack Donald. I love that letter. That was a great one. This guy's not even smiling. Let me handle this. Let me handle this. I love that letter. I mean, it was a very, like, other than that, Mr. Kennedy, how was the parade type of a letter. I mean, holy cow. It sounded like you hated everything we do. Are you sure that wasn't from Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino? Very similar. Listen, I'm sorry, sir. We can't please you. I'm not even sure why you're listening to our show, but I don't know why you don't just spend your time reading the obituaries looking for your name to pop up. I mean, it sounds entertaining to me. Listen, we're not Rich Little over here, okay? Oh, wait, oops. Is that too relevant for you? Is that name? Do you not understand who that is?
Because I don't know any older impressionists than that. Sorry. We just do the voices for fun. And as for making fun of the men in office, maybe you haven't been paying close attention for the past 100 years, but entertainers usually poke fun at people in charge. That is true. That is true. Don't disagree with you about the broads on the show. Hey! I heard that. Shouldn't they be making our breakfast right now, Pops? Wow. Hey. How about that? Anyway, Donald, I wish we could make you happier in your last few years, but you won't have to worry about it for much longer. Sky, can you hear it coming up College Boulevard? No one can hear it. It's the sound of healing. Welcome, San Diego. Hello? Who's that? Mikey? Hello? Never called in before, but I love your show, and you guys rock. Oh, that's awesome. Can I take your orders?
Yes, I'd like two dark roast coffees and four sugars. So that's these and two sugars. No, no, I said dark roast, four sugars. Sure, please, please. Here you go, sir. This is orange juice. The Oscar nominations were... Just announced. Yep, this morning. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So what do we got? Hooray for Hollywood. That's all you got. That's all we got. That was so good. I'm sorry. I wanted more. I liked it. Okay, so the big winners this morning with the most nominations, Slumdog Millionaire got 10 nominations this morning. Wow. Dude, it's the movie when we were in Vegas. When we were in Vegas for, what did we go to Vegas for? The UFC. Oh, that's right. That's right. UFC. What's a UFC? We were in Vegas. Got a three-minute long. Every message I get from Craig Gass is between two and a half to six minutes long. Every message. And, dude, I just saw this incredible movie, Slumdog Millionaire, and I thought of you. And I know you like movies. You would love this.
Two and a half minutes of I Would Love Slumdog Millionaire. Awesome. Yeah. So, yeah, that got ten nominations this morning. And then The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Saw it. Got the most nominations with 13 nods this morning. Wow. Really? Good movie. Yeah. So, nominations for Best Picture, Slumdog Millionaire, The Reader. I like how Skye is, like, actually announcing the movie. I am. Well, I picked up the podium. Yeah, you're in the podium. Are you standing with Forrest Whitaker? Yeah. The reader. How ironic. Okay. I'll try and relax a little more. I'll try and be a little more comfortable. You know, my professionalism really gets to me sometimes. Okay. Milk, Frost, Nixon, and then the curious case of Benjamin Button. We got a clip from that one. Nope. Don't, don't. What is that accent? I think it's from the Bayou. Okay. Just wondering. Leave him alone. I love Brad Pitt. The guy ages backwards. What more do you want from him? I love Brad Pitt. I have not talked to one solitary human being that does not think this movie is fantastic. Just telling you, first couple of words out of his mouth, I was like, what is that? He's doing the Forrest Gump thing. Yes. I was like, hey, Forrest, okay? Run. Unusual circumstances. All right. Body else was aging. I was getting younger.
It sounds, there's observations, a little Tim Burton-y. It has that kind of Tim Burton vibe to it. Why are you such a hater? I'm not. I haven't seen it, and I know I'm going to love it. I already know I'm going to love it. Very magical. It sounds just, his accent was a little, you know, gumpy. It was a little gumpish, you know? I thought I'd heard that before. But I know what'll happen. I'll get caught up in it. Oh, yeah. What else? All right. Actor in a leading role, Richard Jenkins for The Visitor. I beg your pardon? What is that? I don't know. Anybody know? Eddie, you read that Entertainment Buttons. Well. What does that Entertainment Weekly say about that? I think it's a movie about some guy that owns like an apartment. May I please? May I please? He owns some apartment and he ends up having people squatting in his apartment or something like that. Gross. Come on. It's disgusting. It's not what you think. It's not what you think. All right. We also have Frank Langella for Frost Nixon. Langella. What? It's going to be like this. I'm not going to lie. There's some names I don't recognize and we know what happens when I've never heard a name before. Leonid.
Frank Longala. That's how it looks, bro. Congratulations, Frank. That's how it looks, bro. Sorry. Wow. Okay, we have Sean Penn for milk. Dean Penn. Oh, no, no, no. Come on. I've heard that name before. Oh, you have? Sian Pien. We have a lot to get through. Who else? I know. This is going to be fun. So this is best actor. Brad Pitt for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. And then finally, we have Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler. Yes. Got a clip. Have a beer with me? One beer. Do you have a daughter? Oh, my daughter. She don't like me very much. You should call her. What do you want from me? I'm an old, broken-down piece of meat, and I deserve to be all alone. I just don't want you to hate me. Two words. We match. Bring it.
Have you guys seen the commercial for this? Have you guys seen the commercial? I want to see it so bad. I want to see it way more. I want to see it the most. Honestly, I might fight you. Bring it. Alright, at the theater. In the trailer, when Mickey Rourke has the tear fall out of his eye. No way. I haven't seen the trailer. Please. I just heard that, and I'm in. Dude, you know he wins Best Picture when the tear falls out of his eye in the trailer, and then you start bawling and sucking your thumb and, you know, getting in the fetal position. You guys didn't do that? What? Just Marissa Tomei, dude. She is just legendary. Honestly, she is the best. Let me be honest with you. I didn't know what direction Rob was going to go there because it wouldn't have surprised me at all if he had this... strange deal with like Marissa Tomei. We didn't know about it. He hated her. I love her. She, her and Mariah Carey, I mean, God graced this earth when he made them. Marissa Tomei? Yeah. My cousin Vinny won my heart. Hello. She won my heart. My cousin Vinny. Wow. You guys don't love that. That's a great movie. Thank you. Okay.
Best actress in a leading role, Anne Hathaway for Rachel Getting Married. Is Anne Hathaway okay, Rob, or is her face shaped like a paw or something? You know what I mean? You can easily do it. Does she have owl eyes? She's ridiculous. She's my new 50-50 girl. Really? Yeah, sometimes I think she's super hot, and then other times she's like the Joker. I agree. Point of reference, classic 50-50 girl, Cameron Diaz, 50% of the time. Absolutely gorgeous. 50% of the time, what happened? Sarah Jessica Parker. Yep. Well, we'll just move on. Also for Best Actress, Angelina Jolie for The Changeling. I think we have a clip of that. We have a clip of that. Here's a scene from the movie The Changeling. That's the wrong clip because... That's the wrong clip. That was an outtake. Yeah, that was an outtake. That was on the bloopers. That was on the DVD bloopers. Because Angelina Jolie... I don't think she would laugh at the end of the scene. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What? That's not a comedy? I don't think so. Here's the real scene. Here's the real scene. Oh, here we go. Okay. It's not even the same line. Filled with passion. I don't understand that. I'm still playing the bloopers. Oh, okay. Okay.
Really? Here's another zany outtake. The weird thing is this is all in the writing session. Oh, man. All right. Also for best actress, Melissa Leo for Frozen River. I don't even know who that is. I don't know who Melissa Leo is. Who or what is that? I don't know. What was it called? I've never heard of that. Frozen River. Had her in third period journalism. Oh, really? Yep. Meryl Streep for Doubt. Oh, enough with her. Dude, enough with her. Overrated. Okay, we heard you the first time. Hey, that movie, it's like getting that, oh my goodness. Meryl Streep, you're amazing. Anything you do is amazing. You're in a How to Poop documentary. You're nominated.
There's no such documentary. How do you do it? I want to see that documentary. I do not. You don't need to. Okay. And then finally in that category, we have Kate Winslet for the reader. Of course. Of course we do. All right. Kate Winslet. For the best supporting actor, we have Josh Brolin for Milk. That just sounds funny. You mean Milk? Milk. Milk. Milk. Robert Downey Jr. for Tropic Thunder. Dude, that's awesome. That was a scene from Tropic Thunder. I don't remember that scene. On the bloopers. Philip Seymour Hoffman. She's the dude playing the dude, playing the other dude. Michael Shannon for Revolutionary Row. The rock and roll cannon? Yeah, that was my radio DJ name. Michael Shannon, the rock and roll cannon. You got nominated, dude. Glad it came up again.
You finally made it. And then finally for Best Supporting Actor, we have Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight. Too soon. Too soon. That's so messed up. Let's hear a scene. And as for the television's so-called plan, Batman has no jurisdiction. He'll find him and make him squeal. I know the squealers when I see them. What do you propose? It's simple. We kill Batman. If he doesn't win. From the bloopers. He was still working out the character. He was working the character out. He was trying to discover what it would become. Eddie. That is rude.
That is just rude. She's a human being. That's your friend in there. Whatever. Okay, do you want to hear any other characters? You messed up, Cheddar. You messed up, bro. It's not cool, dude. Trying to do you a favor. That's how you would pay me? A favor. We'll see how it is. So do you want to hear any other categories like supporting actress, director? Marissa Tomei? Did she make it? Yes, Marissa Tomei. Yeah! Go for it! Something tells me that wrestler's good. I have to see it. I need to see that. Anywhere big? I heard La Jolla. I mean, La Jolla something. He's grieving. Okay, Eddie? I am grieving, dude. He's so dumb, though. He's grieving. But how does that correlate? Sometimes when you grieve, you say dumb stuff. You know, when you're grieving. Okay. When we come back, check this out. When we come back, Tyra Banks had this chick on her show, and I guess the topic was gross stuff. What? Dude. Don't do it. I don't want to.
So gross. Candy bread. No, it's not. It is not. What's a P1? A P1 is someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to The Mikey Show exclusively. Fair warning. Here we go. We also have Daria here.
And you are the scab eater. What the balls? You hurt yourself. Eddie just. What the balls? Oh, my God. Eddie just reared up in his seat. Oh, my God. You did not warn us. I was not properly warned. No, no. I'm offended. How dare you, sir? I warned you. Can you skin your knee or something? Do you get happy because you know a scab is going to come? Because she gets bound up from eating the paper. Ew. She gets bound up. Why would anyone eat toilet paper? I don't know. It's sad. I don't know why anybody would. It must be... Mike, help them. Hear me out here. I don't know. It sounds obviously psychological, right? There's something wrong, something wrong. But there are some people like when you're little kids, like my brother, Mark, my mom says he used to eat mud. Well, yeah, that's a thing. Because you need your body craves minerals. Yes. And, you know, so you're eating the mud. He's a kid. No, no, no, no, no. He used to really do it a lot. Like some kids put stuff in their mouths. My brother, he had a, you know, he.
A deficiency. A deficiency. He was, like, eating it because it tasted it. He needed the minerals. Oh, okay. I don't know, man. Maybe she has a two-ply deficiency. Two-ply deficiency? I've heard of people not... That can't be true, though. Right? Wouldn't you die? You would die. Going for like five, six days and having to be rushed to the hospital for that. But a month? I'm surprised that she's still here alive and did not go to the bathroom for a month. Wow. Well, Tyra, maybe it's because that's not true. Maybe she's lying, Tyra. Maybe she shouldn't have a doctor on your show. Yeah. You idiot. Eddie, you're a doctor. Maybe you could go on the show. Have you heard of that, Eddie? Maybe you could go on that. In your practice. I mean, have you seen anyone with that? In the pomple pant practice. Have you run across any situations where what? Listen, listen, this is the thing. Our girl, Ashley, is very rare.
You don't see it? Thank you. She's sounding like our toilet paper eater. How so? No. Eddie, I don't. Maybe you can explain. I don't. You were talking about she's very unique and very rare. Thank you. She's like that. But that lady's a freak. What I mean. Sky's words, not mine. Okay. She wasn't talking about Ashley. Sky's words, not mine. Whatever. Here is Ashley singing Eminem. You get it? You'll let the whole clip play in its entirety, and then you just tell us. We've got, like, a really easy batch today, you guys. Easy batch. I'm serious. All right. I'm serious. P1. Butcher Boy. What's happening? How you doing? Doing great, doing great. You ever heard Tone Deaf before? Yes. All right, so you know the rules. All you got to do is give me the name of the song or who is singing it, and you're a winner. Winner. Here we go. What? My face just twitched. I don't even know what language that was. I thought she said it was good. It's going to be easy. Oh, that was so good. Man, she is good at accents. P1 Butcher Boy. I'm speechless. Yes. Speechless. I'm speechless right now. You don't know, you can't give me a guess, like who you think that was, like what artist or what song? I don't know any of this. Okay. It was actually Ozzy Osbourne, believe it or not. How dare you. That's what it was. How dare you. I don't look at me.
I think you were right. She's a friend. Yeah, she wasn't talking about Ashley. Oh. Sounded as nothing. Okay. It's really hard to try to impersonate someone who stutters so bad, so I did the best I could. You throw me freaking bones, you know? J-Mac is on the line. Hi, J-Mac. Not too much, dude. How you doing? Not too bad. All right, brother. You ready to give this a shot? Let's do it. All right. Trusted to true. Ended up again. I loved you right through. We loved you. You made me. What the? Oh, my God. This is the worst. That was from the soundtrack to The Wrestler. No, it was not. It wasn't. No, it wasn't. P1J Mac? Dude, I don't know. I love that. It's just like, what do you want me to do? Why is he irritated? What do you expect from me? Sounds upset. Can you take a guess? Um, Carol Crowe? No. You didn't need to be pissed off at me. No. Was it close? It was very close. It was naked eyes. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. That is ridiculous. It was. I'm sorry, Sean. Just on all the show. Who's this? Sean does.
Naked eyes. I don't know that that was her tone, Eddie. Well, definitely. I agree, Mike. Thank you. That's a very good point, actually. It's like a human tone. P1 Andrew the Frake Train is on the line. Finally. First of all, I just want to say, Ashley, how dare you? That Ozzy Osbourne thing, that was horrendous. You deserve it. How dare you? Well, let me tell you. You get an easy one. I will tell you this. I believe that this is an easy one. And the reason that I believe it is because I believe that Ashley will encapsulate the performance. Thank you. All right, dude, you'll get it. Don't worry. Are you ready? Here we go. I'm ready. I changed my mind.
Oh, wow. That was a good one. I like that one. Beautiful. So that one is my turn. Yeah, you got that. Get it? Andrew, the Frake Train? I believe that would be Coldplay Clock. You're correct. There it is. There you go, dude. See how that works? My ears are crying. I want to hear what he goes. Tears of joy. Tears of joy. Congratulations, Andrew the Freight Train. You are a winner. All right, we got to get at least two. We got to get at least two. Come on now. Let's go. Come on now. Hey, Cody. What's up, Mikey? Cody, you can do this, bro. You can do this. I'm so lucky. I'm ready. I'm telling you, man. Sometimes you have to read between the lines with these. As long as it's not Cher, I think I can do this. No, dude, it isn't Cher. It's a band that you would know. Are you ready? I'm ready. Here we go.
Wow. Another great one. I am offended on so many levels by that. Oh, wow. She should start a cover band. That was really good. That was genius. Thank you. I think I got this one. Who is it? Is it Beastie Boy? You're good. You're good. This is Ashley again? This is Ashley. I know. They're virtually identical. They're virtually identical. Thank you. Very well done. You are a winner, P1 Cody. Can you hang on the line? It's not easy. It's not easy. This one's for Sean. We're going to take a quick time out. When we come back, I got some more interesting stuff for you. Did you get to the dentist, Rob? Did you finally get to the dentist? You too, right, Ash? You had to go to the dentist too, didn't you? Yeah, I finally made it yesterday and not good news for me. I flaked. I'm on my couch.
with my dog. I know you didn't. So, dot, dot, dot. Yes, I called at the exact time of my appointment. Oh my God. You're going to trip out when we come back. You're going to trip out when you take what she just said and we tell you this other thing when we come back. Also, when we come back, Scott Weiland, new line of work. He's going into a new business. And I'm being serious. This isn't a joke. He's going into a new business venture. And it isn't music. I'll tell you what it is after this. Mikey. Great show, everybody. Great show. There were several people that had doubts of whether or not I should attempt to go to school. Working full time and being a single parent was difficult enough. Repeal the booze ban in San Diego. There's another ban I'd like to see him change.
I'd like to see him lift the ban on me not being allowed into Canada. One too many lemon drops. You know why it's funny? Because it's true. Because it's true. He's banned from Canada. Mikey's show continues. Rock 105.3. Mikey's show and it's 8.36. Police did a crackdown yesterday on smoke shops in East County, seizing over 15,000 pieces of paraphernalia. Well, PETA has withdrawn an offer to televise an anti-dogfighting public service announcement with Michael Vick after he's released from prison. Really? Yeah. Because I guess Vick wanted PETA to support him in getting back into the NFL, and they're like, not so much, bro. Yeah. Huh.
Try, but not so much. And, like, PETA wants him to go through, like, a brain scan and, like, psychological testing to see if, you know, he's, like, something. I don't know what. But that's what they want. I don't even see why they would entertain the thought for, like, a second. Like, please. Well, why would PETA want him to go through a brain scan? I don't get it. I don't know. So weird. That's crazy. That is crazy. PETA's the most, you know, stable organization around. Yeah, I mean, they seem, it just seems extreme. Yeah. You seen that Pita movie? Oh, yeah, dude. Dude, it's so weird. Sky, you seen that? I've heard of it. I haven't seen it. It's weird, man. It would freak you out. Yeah, I don't think I want to see it. I don't like to see that stuff, man. Is it called Pita Chips? It is not. You're thinking of a different one. Those are delicious. You're thinking of a bag of snacks you saw in the grocery store. I am. That's what you're talking about, right? No, I'm just talking about a movie. This is different. What? Not a snack. Yeah, totally.
Okay, so, you know how Ashley was saying she was supposed to go to the dentist? Yeah. And you woke up, what? No, I didn't wake up. I just called them exactly what time my appointment was at to cancel. Okay, I must have gotten you confused. With? Rob, who did something very similar, Ash. What? What are these kids doing? Dumber. Well, this week, you know, I'm grieving. Okay, so. Enough. Enough of you. Work that out. Anyways, so I go home yesterday and I sit down on the couch for a second. Like it was literally like a split second. Didn't even realize I passed out. I must have been like exhausted. You know, I was kind of getting over whatever I had. Literally, it was not a split second. How long do we think it was? Seven minutes. Yeah, I would say about five minutes. That's longer than a split second. No, because when I got home, it was like a flash nap. When I flash flood, it comes and you don't even know it's coming. I was sleeping on top of sandbags. No, when I came home, I got the mail. I, you know, popped on the TV. I dropped my stuff off in my room. And then I opened up my mail, threw away whatever, you know, stupid pills, all that. Just trash it.
What? What do you do with them? And then I sat down on the couch and you know when you like fall asleep and all of a sudden you wake up and you thought it was like five minutes? Turns out it was two days. No, it turned out that it was about two hours and I woke up at three o'clock on the dot. Like, woke up, looked at my cable box and said three. That's the time you're supposed to be there. Yeah. So I called him and said... And, oh, man, I feel like a jerk because two weeks ago I did the same thing. And they just said, don't come in. We'll reschedule. Who does that twice in a row? I know it. That's quite a coincidence. I've been irresponsible. I'm not irresponsible at all. I am in grieving. You're a hothead. So. You know why I don't like the dentist? Because I feel like there is better things to be doing with my time. Yes. My time is very valuable. I would like. I agree. I would like the dentist to be in the car while I'm driving. Oh, no way. Dude, no. Your teeth are important. Just have me open my mouth wide while driving so that I can accomplish both things. I'm going to be doing that sleep dentistry coming up. You are? Yeah. Really? They put you out? Yeah. Have you ever done it? I did it when I had my wisdom teeth out. You liked it, right? You thought it was good. It was great.
You wake up, it's all done. Dude, my dentist, they have like flat screen TVs in the ceiling. So when you lay there. So cool. It was awesome. I watched a surfing video. It was. You should have showed up then. Yeah. I did go. I went yesterday. They said it was all right. And I got to go back in two weeks. I got four cavities and I need. Oh, dude. No, no, no. These are the candy bars in your mouth. Just a couple of times. No kidding. No, but these were, you know, first I had to get the wisdom teeth out. And now it's the cavities. And then I had a root canal messed up. The dentist that did it when I was in high school, like completely screwed it up, didn't do it right. So they had to redo it a couple months ago. So now they got to crown it. Fun, fun, fun. That sounds like a blast. I gotta go. I gotta go. I gotta go. I gotta go bad. Because I haven't been in two years, but now I'm trying to find a new... I've completely bailed out completely on the dentist I flaked on, and now I'm going in a whole new direction with a whole new dentist because P1's freaked me out that I shouldn't go to that dentist. Really? That's why I flaked.
You have to come to mine. It's kind of too far away from me, Rob. It's in Del Mar. Yeah, but that's far from me, Julie. Too far from me. But they're so nice there. I stay in my little bubble called the beach. That's right. No, I'm telling you, it is worth it. Del Mar is nowhere near the beach. It's so weird. Okay. She kind of got you there. I'm sorry. She kind of got you there. I'm sorry. You know what I mean? I didn't have time. Ding. Can we point? Face back. Put that on the board for Skye. Wow, get out the sauces and milk, everybody. No, no, that was my bad. First she calls me a freak. I didn't call you. Oh, I remember that clearly. That's right. I did not say that. You jerks. She's grieving, okay? She's calling us jerks over and over again. And I'm drunk. Yes, all right? So give her a little break. Give me some space. All right? Please. So before we went to break, I told you Scott Weiland, he's trying something new out. This might be cool. Who knows, man? I don't think so. Well, come on, Scott. You're so judgmental of him. Stuntman. Engineer. Keep going. Postman. Oh, you're getting warmer. Oh, okay. UPS driver. But he's getting colder. Keep going. Clown. Luau dancer. Oh, very warm. Shepherd. Very warm.

The Seinfeld pirate shirt? Yeah. Yes. His stuff will look like Seinfeld pirate shirts. Yeah. Lots of scarves. Lots of weird scarves. I'm out. Yeah, like Bowie stuff, Keith Richards stuff. Weird. Dude, let me tell you, I would love to do that, but not do stupid things. Right. You legit? Yeah. Yeah. That would be cool. Like Tommy Bahama, yeah. Sky is on one today, ladies and gentlemen. She's got a t-shirt on that says Arrested Development. You know what I mean? What did I say? What are we doing? What are we going to do? Oh, I got a bunch of cool audio. And I can play it. And I can play it and I will. When you can play it, that's good. When you have audio that you can't play. You don't like that? I don't like it. I say play it, don't spray it. Check this out.
So we all know and are familiar with Bill O'Reilly. He had a clip that was pretty scandalous. And I want you to take note of how down he is when he's talking about rappers like Young Jeezy. Oh, okay. On Monday night in Washington, rappers Young Jeezy performed a rant in public that offended many people. If you were warning, we're going to play you part of what they did. Roll it. Now, Jay-Z should know better. I don't know much about Young Jeezy. It is possible he will appear on The Factor soon. A scandalous clip. Young Jeezy. I don't know anything about either dude. Do you guys know anything about Young Jeezy and Young Jeezy? Well, he's a very relevant hip rapper. That's all I know. You were talking about Young Jeezy. Young Jeezy. Yes. Is Young Jeezy, or not Young Jeezy, is Jay-Z the guy that's married to Beyonce? Yes. He's racist. Sounds like he's racist. Yelling about white people in the way that he did. If that was a white guy saying the same exact words, but you replaced white for black, he'd be kicked out of the country.
Young Jeezy. You know what I mean? That would not have gone over with. Young Jeezy. Okay, Bill O'Reilly, you're cool. He knows how to say it. Young Jeezy. Grew up on the really rough, rough part of Maui. Young Jeezy. 570-1053. Our blogs are up and running. You can check them out at Mikey show.com. M I K E Y S H O W.com. Full of 30-second commercials certain people spend around $3 million on. That's about $100,000 a second. Mm-mm, you won't see the high life doing that. Common Sense says it's a bad time to be hemorrhaging dummy dollars. Which got me to thinking, why do companies need 30 seconds to run their yap when one second should do the trick? Instead of some big lofty financial commercial, can't they just say, uh-oh, selling an ocean cruise? Just say, trapped on a boat? I don't care how big the game is.
Who got $3 million? Not me. Imagine how much good, honest beer at a tasty price that could buy. Reigning Wimbledon champion Venus Williams is upset in the second round of the Australian Open. You're a big tennis fan.
being upset usually means. It means sad, Eddie. Well, because I'm grieving, so I didn't know if Venus was grieving. She might not know. If she got the news that Sean got... I get that. You might not know what they're upset. And then I thought maybe they were upset. Yep, it happens. Uh, Skye? She lost? What's up? Skye, when's the storm coming? Okay. Olms are brewing, Mike. That's right. Oh, weather with Skye. Here we go. Yes! I love this. This is awesome when she does the weather. Well, no, I mean, weather... Who knows what's going to happen right now? Well, I'm just saying. So, Sky, what? Weather is not an exact science. Sky, you better tell us exactly what's going to happen. Well, no. Can you give us times? No, I cannot. I cannot. All I know is that rain is supposed to be moving in today, as of last night. As of last night, they said we were going to see the rain this morning. What if the island moves? What about that? Well, that's what I said. It moves back and forth in time. And disappears? That means that we're supposed to have storms now? You don't know. You don't know. Last night on the news, they said we were going to see rain this morning. It was a few. It was a little bit of rain out there. A little drippity-dropities. Yeah.
Yes, that's what I was thinking. But now I'm reading it's going to be, you know, more like this afternoon. They say a few sprinkles are moving in right now. The rain is supposed to move from the south and then getting stronger going up north. But, yeah, so this afternoon, some rain. Storm to me means heavy-duty rain, winds, and possibly like lightning. That's not San Diego's definition of a storm. What is it? No one can drive. Yeah, one little drop of rain. So we're expecting rain. Yes, there will be rain today. Not like the people in Mass. I'm telling you, man. We're the best drivers ever, Mike. We are. We invented driving. Come on. You invented driving. You're welcome, Sky. I can drive in Siberia. Yes. I could. I could drive anywhere. I drove through the White Mountains when the fog was so bad you had a 10-foot visibility and it was snowing. Oh, look at me. I'm so cool. I walked to school uphill my way. I didn't go to school. He's got you there. Yeah, he does. You're a gem. Last night. Last night.
Ashley decided to splurge, ate Girl Scout cookies, ordered Papa John's, ate the half of Papa John's Peter Pan pepperoni pizza with spicy sausage, and then ate Sina Swirl pizza. So, Wednesday night then? Yes. Basically, any given week. No, you guys. How are you thin? How are you thin? Starving! No, because I was grieving. So I decided to splurge. And I was like, all right, you know, you can do this. You eat like a 16-year-old boy. Yes. Yeah. Who's starving. Yes. So then I let myself. Just got home from soccer practice. So then I let myself splurge and get the pizza. You let yourself splurge every night. Every night. She's grieving. Let me tell you something. She better keep working. Oh, dude. Or bad things will happen. Yes. I know this. Rosie O'Donnell. Are you fat? Okay. So here's an email that we got. I want people to call and give me your thoughts on this and we'll see what you guys think. Mikey, I am so sick of my office right now. We have four people selling Girl Scout cookies. Wow. I don't get it. Are they the ones in Girl Scouts or are their kids in Girl Scouts? Thank you.
Why are they selling cookies for their kids? We had some guy buy like 100 boxes. So his friend's daughter would get some trip or something. She did nothing to earn that. Makes me real frustrated. I refused to buy anything from them and told them if they want me to buy the cookies, have their kids ask. What do you think? P1 fed up. So the question is, parents that sell cookies for their kids. Really, really cool and sweet? Or really, really jacked up and teaching the wrong thing? What is it? I don't know that it's jacked up, but I don't really care for it. I think that if you're in Girl Scouts and you're selling Girl Scout cookies, you should do it yourself. If you're sending your folks in to do it, then what's the point? What are you getting out of that? It's a collaborative effort. Question, Eddie. What? Question, Eddie. Question. Yes. What if?
There are no rules for NASCAR, but some dudes are able to put some fuel in that, you know, puts them around the track, you know, 50 times, 50% faster than all the other guys. That's not fair. It's not fair. But that's not true because any Girl Scout could have their parents take their, you know, cookie order form into work. But doesn't that go back to the, isn't this then a parents contest? Yeah. Which, by the way, I'd be fine with. If we wanted to make it, if we wanted to be very open and honest about it and say that this is something that the parents and the kids do together. It's a, it's a thing where the parents and the kids get together and they do a project together. Give the parents a badge too. Yeah. You know, the kids sell and the parents sell, they sell together, you know, and, and it's something that they do to kind of bond and listen, I'd be fine with it. But I, I think I'm on board with Eddie of like, can't we all stay at home? Dad. Where am I going to be able to bring in the cookies? Gymboree. Well, that happened with me because my mom was a stay-at-home mom, but my dad would take my foreman to work, and he'd get as many orders as he could. All right. What about this, Ash? How about your dad, right? Let's say you go to school with my kid, okay? Your dad takes yours in the office, but I'm on the radio. So I go on the radio, and I get a bunch of people to buy. Is that fair? I work in an office with three people. Yeah.
Is that fair? Amen. Get a better job. I have a great job. What are you saying? You snooze, you lose? Hey, you got to do what you got to do. I would have my grandpa go up into his neighborhood with the farm. I would use all of my family members to get me hooked up. Get off your lazy butt and do it yourself. How about that? Hey, when I got out of school. Hey, lazy butt. Gets up there and works a little bit. Stop eating the cookies and sell them. I'd get out of school. Okay, in third grade. And I go walk in my neighborhood every day. But you can only go to so many houses in so much time. Daddy would take care of it. I'm not worried about it. Hey, dude. Explains a lot. Sky. You know what, bro? You suck. Yes! I think... my personal opinion that it's not a big deal for the parent to do it as long as the kid is doing it too. Like if the parent is doing all of it, then I think that's kind of weak. But if the kid after school is going around the neighborhood, I don't think it's a big deal for one day, the parent to bring it into the office and be like, Hey, you know, one day.
Anybody in on this? One day, now we're making that rule? Like, yeah, right. Well, I'm just saying, I don't think the parents should make it, like, their goal. And what are we going on here? The honor system that a parent will only do this? Okay, listen, parents, be cool. Only take it to work once. Well, I'm not saying they make it a rule. I'm saying that's what I think is acceptable. You know how it is, Skye. Parents want their kids to win. Huh? And so they're going, they're doing everything they can to get them to win. And that's not what it should be about. Well, that's why I think it should be about teaching them, you know, how to do things for themselves. That's why we... Look what happened to Ashley. Wait, wait, wait. What does that mean? Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. She just said it teaches them... No, so we do it together. What's with that, man? You know what I mean. Sky just said that it teaches them to do things themselves. It's a little healthy. It doesn't. But that's not... because when I was doing it, like, I wanted to go and go to everybody's house. I didn't mind doing my part to get the Girl Scout cookies. I just wanted to win. I was the one who wanted to win. So I'm like, hey, Dad, hook it up. Grandpa, let's go. I wanted to win. My parents couldn't have given a rip. That is so messed up. It's competitive, dude. Yeah, you've never been a Girl Scout. You've never been. You don't know. Yes, I have. P1 Gunslinger.
Yeah, I used to have my mom take it to work, and she'd end up selling like 60 or 70 items. You were in the girls' games? You know what he means. All the candles and spices and garbage. Is that what boys got? What were you? Like, what was the project? It was just school fundraising. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. The way I looked at it, the bottom line is we were trying to raise money for whatever, you know. purpose they needed it for. Hang on. It's got a good heart right here. Hang on. That's what I'm saying. So it's not, maybe I misunderstood. The Girl Scout thing is not a competition then, right? It's not like the girl that sells the most gets something. No, there is. It's totally a competition. Disgusting. But it's also a fundraiser. Skyathan. Skymanta. Skymanta. No, it's a fundraiser, but also the top sellers get prizes. Yeah, you get hooked up with, like, real cool, like, keychains and pens. Yeah, like the worst prices ever. Can anyone do this? I just want to be clear. Oh, no, Mike. Skye is saying. Oh, I hate when you want to be clear. Skye's saying, I would not, she's saying, I would not be upset if I, if somebody.
worked at a fortune 500 company with a thousand employees i wouldn't be upset if i worked at a place that was mom and pop with four employees i thought i wouldn't have a problem as long as they only sell to the fortune 500s one day out of the week yeah right you'd be mad You'd be mad. Why don't you compare, oh, I live out in the country where there's only five houses compared to the people who live in the suburbs where there's houses everywhere. Oh, that's not fair. Like, whatever. Shut your... Is that comparison fair? Yes. No. Why not? Because, Skye, if just the kids do it, even if they live out in the country, you know they're at least going to be... Oh, it's not fair for them. There's only one house. If they only live out in the country where there's one house... If they live out in the country, what you do is you take the kids to places where they can do it. Oh, well, same with the business. Like the mall. Oh, so you're saying that if you were a good mom, you would go like door to door. I'm sorry. You're not grieving. Sky, I am grieving. That wouldn't work anyway, Rob. They're not all connected. So Sky's saying.
You got it. Moms, dads, you got to be resources. Just don't take your kids in a circle. Don't. He is just something. Wow. Don't die. Oh, does close die exist? I don't know. Hey, Bruce and grief talk. Come on, guys. It's misplaced anger. It's misplaced anger. Oh, man. Thank you. P1 St. Louis. Hey, St. Louis, you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead, bro. Hey. I don't agree with the parents selling the cookies for the kids. I've seen the kids actually work hard, go door to door, whatever else. I've seen them come inside a Marine barracks and just turn the tears on, and guys will buy from them. Guys will buy from the kids. Of course. Thin Mints are the best. I'm talking about hardcore Marines will go ahead and buy candy from the kids. Of course. Yeah, that's great. And it should be the kids that do it. Otherwise, call it a parent contest.
Parent scout cookies. I am so shocked that Skye's opinion. She's so hypocritical. Her boys can wear dresses, but you know. Yes, dude. She thinks it's fair. You guys don't live in reality. I'm sorry I live in the real world. Girls can play soccer. Boys are wearing dresses. Don't make no sense around here. Eddie. Don't you start with me. I've had a rough week. Say that again. Say that again. I fucked my head this morning. Yeah, obviously. I mean, you don't go to work and say, Mikey can earn the money for me. You go to work yourself. Thank you. You guys don't get it. Equal opportunities. They're children. Exactly. Yeah, if I had a 20-year-old doing a cookie drive, I wouldn't sell for them. Yes, you would. My son rakes the yard. I got a cut. My son can earn money on his own without me having to sell cookies for him. Yeah, and listen, to me, it just seems a question. Well, there's a couple things going on here. A, I think that you're teaching the kid.
Dishonesty. You're teaching a kid that you will help them out. Oh, that's so horrible. Hey, you guys. Honestly, I don't know any of this. They don't have, like, rules. Well, all I know is when I was a Girl Scout, like... That's what everybody did. It wasn't like I was the only person that did that. I know you did, but is there at least an obligatory rule that everyone breaks? There is no rule. They just want to raise as much money as possible. Are you guys sure? They don't care. Honestly, we're not going to get a parent that calls and goes, yes, they have rules that you're not supposed to. My mom was a leader. I was in a troop. I was a brownie. I did the whole thing, and it was all good. I was a brownie. I'm still a brownie. I actually ate a lot of brownies. I am grieving. R6. Go ahead. In it is. Hello. Good morning, guys. Good morning. I think that this is wrong on several levels. Number one, when you bring something to work to sell, you create an obligation for these people to buy it from you. And if they don't, it creates some severe tension because this woman's always going to think, oh, that person did not buy my kids.
Great call. That's not true. So true. I don't buy stuff all the time. And you know what people think of you? They can't stand you. Wait, I didn't think that. Hey, hold on. Yes, I agree. Hey, R6, you're right. You are 100% right. Another thing I have is this has still scarred me. When I was in fifth grade, there was a science fair, and I built a seismograph from scratch from a shoe box. And the kids that their parents bought them, those expensive science kits, were the ones that won. There's no way that those kids could build, you know, all this stuff. So you know that their parents basically built it. Ashley, what did your dad build you? Well, there was this one time. See, I knew it. Exactly. Well, no, it was my mom. I had a book report and my mom totally hooked it up. Oh, that's dishonest. That was pretty cool. I'm not in on it. She was teaching you. I'm not in on that. You're horrible. Oh, Sarah, that's funny. Oh, mom. Why do you sound so funny? Yeah, I had a contest in the Cub Scouts.
The contest was you make these little matchbox cars out of wood. Yeah. Never touched it. Won the contest. Never touched it one time. Who did it? Mark. He put bullets in it. He drilled a hole. Bullets, Mike. Bullets, Mike. Bullets, Mike. He drilled a hole in the wood. Well, you were busy crying at rock bullets. To my defense, I was crying. To my defense, I would have built it. But I was listening to classical music and crying. So he was like, well, you know, I'll just let him cry. Have a good cry, Mike. I'll take care of this. Oh, man. Oh, wow, Sarah, that's funny. P1J, Mac, you there? Yeah, what's going on, Mikey? What's up, dude? Yeah, dude, I think the main point here is that it's a fundraiser. You know, these kids aren't just trying to put money in their pockets. Pa-lease. Thank you, J-Mac. Thank you, J-Mac. Pa-lease. My nephew was entered in a contest, and he wanted me to sponsor him, and I did. It was a fundraiser, but he didn't care about the fundraiser. He wanted to win the Wii that was the grand prize. And so...
you know, hey, I don't care. I'll try and help him win the Wii. But it wasn't like, oh, please help me. And my football team, it was Uncle Eddie, I want to win this Wii. But you did it, right? Absolutely. Okay, there you go. J-Mac. There you go. J-Mac. Yeah. Yeah. Isn't that... Exactly. I mean, come on. J-Mac, aren't you trying to pass this off like you're helping a charity, but the reality is you want your kid to win. Yeah, but I'm talking about actually buying the cookies in the office. I mean, like... That lady is talking about creating an obligation. What about six-year-old little Jenny walking around to her neighbors? Is it easier to say no to an adult or is it easier? What's easier, saying no to an adult? That's not the point, though. The point is that it's not about the kid crying, going and giving a sad story. It's about if you're in a competition. Which is what this is. Would you go cry into your mom? If you're in a competition, what are you going to teach your kids about competition? That's not what he's talking about. It's not really a competition. It's a fundraiser with reward. Wait a second. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. The caller made that you agreed with about pressuring your coworkers. That's his specific point. But in making the point, he said he does this for his kid. I would do this for my kid. You would do it for your kid.
Now, and that's why I asked you guys because I didn't know. I was like, hey, is this Girl Scout cookie thing? Is it a competition? You guys are like, yeah. I'm like, whoa. If it's a competition, what are we teaching our kids about competition? What we're teaching them is if you're in a competition. Any means possible. Any means possible. which I don't know. I don't agree with that. I don't know if any means possible is... Well, as long as it's not illegal. You just said any means possible. Is it cheating? Cheating's okay? Well, as long as it's not wrong. Yeah, that's what I meant. Okay, any acceptable means possible. Hey, J-Mac and Sky, you guys, you kind of have a point in this. If the rules don't say it... Don't spray it. If the rules don't say it, they don't say it, man. And from what you guys are saying, there's no rule that says that parents can't do it. And so it's just kind of known that all parents do it. Sure. And my other thing is it's like, why would you be tripping that, like, the office is getting, like, if you're an office coworker, you're getting asked, you want to buy some Girl Scout cookies for my daughter or son. I'd be stoked. Like, if you don't have any kids and you love Girl Scout cookies, which, hi, that's me. Like, I, like, look forward to people bringing in their forms for their kids so I can get my cookies. I'm all good on that.
Yeah, I'm fine. Listen, I mean, as long as all the parents are doing it, you know. But you're an overeater. They're taking advantage of it. That's not right. Hey, J-Mac. That is neither here nor there. What were you saying, J-Mac? What about, you know, how towards the end, how the Girl Scouts will stand outside of, like, bonds or grocery stores? Oh, that's the worst. What about the girls whose parents work two jobs and they don't have the time to do that? Is that cheating? Great question, Sky. Is that kind of the same thing? What do you think? No. I mean... I'm all for it. Fair enough. I support it. I think it's, you know... You know what, Sky? You changed my mind. It's too bad. I was kind of asking Mikey that. Yeah, Mike. Yeah, Mike. Yeah, Mike. What do you think? I think that's tough. I think that's not cool. Poor parents got to work two jobs and, you know, they wish they could take their kid out in front of Vons. But again, this is life. I mean, yeah, that sucks, but what? In life, you have to realize that some people are hard workers and some people... You have the haves and have-nots. Yes. Shut up. So you got to work. Oh, well, it's called snoozing and loozing. I looze up. I looze up. The Monkey Show. You guys are just such a great course for...

Well, you know, I mean, some of her facts are correct, and then it seems like she adds her own twist on it. I got a good one tonight, Eddie. Okay. Well, I know yesterday she gave a fact and then she gave something she made up off the top of her head. Oh, you don't know she made up. I don't know that you know that. The Larry Fitzgerald character in NCAA football plays the teams by himself. That's not true. Have you ever played? I believe that. No. Look who doesn't know. All right, Ash. Fair enough. What do you got? All right, P1s. Today's Fitzgerald fun fact of the day is this. Maybe you didn't know. Larry Fitzgerald, number 11 on the Cardinals going to the Super Bowl.
He won the 2003 Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, which is an award they give annually for the best player in college football. But not only that, he also in that same year won a Grammy, an Employee of the Month Award, and a No. 1 Dad Award. even though he's not even a father. This is stupid. He is amazing. I have ever heard. It was a crazy year for him. It's a lie, man. It's a lie. It's a really crazy year. He said that. I said it was wrong. Good to say. Amazing. But that other stuff is stupid. Number one dad of the year. Amazing. And he's not a dad. And he's the best. How are you number one dad of the year? For what? Yeah, he's great. Are you? Whatever. Rob. And now. And now. Shut up. I would like to welcome, welcome, welcome. There's no production. This is amazing. Boston Rob. This is so stupid. Palamalu. Point of interest. Interest. Interest. Interest. Interest. Well, Mikey, this hard-hitting, suave, and sexy Samoan once wove an entire bridge.
For his small Samoan village out of his own hairs that he collected over time from his comb. Oh, my gosh. They gave him the key to that small village and dubbed him a superhero. I didn't know that. I had no idea, Rob. Mark, what is that up in the yard? Why are you screaming? What? What is it? You just want to always steal my thunder. What is up in the air? Oh, is that Superman? No, it's Troy Palomalu. He's probably off to give CPR to some helpless dog. Be quiet. I like Rob's facts. That was a great fact. Palomalu isn't Mike, okay? What? You get it. That was awesome. Whatever it was, I know was extraordinarily hurtful. CPR to a dog. You're an awful girl. Full of mean. Full of mean. Oh my gosh. Hey, Metallica's got custom guitars coming out. Do you hear that? Is that in honor of their Hall of Fame thing?
For giggles. It's fun, please. I don't know. Sky, do you know what it is? Metallica has been in the news a lot this week. The Hall of Fame we talked about. Also how they're going to be free agents. They're free of their record contract. Got some custom guitars coming out. Kirk Hammett Ouija board guitar. James Hetfield guitar in the news today. Lars is going to be in the new Guns N' Roses video. It's going to be great. Hey, it's me, Lars. We know. Hi, Lars. Do you have a direct link to every radio station? Or like, how does that do? Every day I do a different interview with every radio station throughout North America. It's amazing. Oh, wow, Lars. You know, speaking of that first...
custom guitar. The first one we ever did was shaped like a wooden shoe. I don't remember that. It didn't really go over, so instead I shaped the guitar in the form of Sandy Crawford's mole. That's cool. It was actually more like a banjo. What are you saying, Lars? It sold quicker than clogs in Denmark. Well, that's a lot. That's quick. Hey, Eddie. Yeah, what's up, Lars Ulrich? You know, Deep Purple went through this back in the day, man. What do you mean? The free agency thing? No, well, some of them did. And my other favorite bands, a couple of my other favorite bands are like Giraffe's Chewing Gum. Do you remember that band? No, no, I've never heard of that band. Or do you remember Paper Helmet? No, I've never heard of these bands. Solstice. No, not too soon. They're always welcome here. You know, man, thing is, this is Lars Ulrich. People think that we have to be pigeonholed somehow, you know? Oh, really? People always want to put us in a box. Yeah, Talica?
Yeah, Calica. Yeah. And so, you know, we don't have to be on one record label if, you know, we want to go to a different record label. Oh, that's cool. Next week, we're going to talk to Sesame Street Records. Okay, wow. Oh, good. That's old school. That's awesome. That's very different. Don't judge us totally on our music, man. Okay. You can also, if you want to, you can also judge us on Napster, St. Anger, that weird documentary we did. That's a lot of stuff we can judge you on. Hey, you guys know that I already told James that if we get dropped by Elektra, then we're going to take him to judge Joe Brown. Oh, wow, really? Watch that episode. That's cool. That's nuts. Are you guys still there? Yes. Sometimes, sometimes. Yeah, because I'm connected to 400 radio stations right now. It's hard to hear sometimes. That's crazy. You get so creepy. Hey, guys. Yes, Lars. This is Lars. I think the first album that we're going to do and we're going to put out there as free agents is going to be called Saint Upset.
Oh, wait. That's very close to Saint Anger. Yeah, well, it's not as hard-rocking as Saint Anger. Okay. You're taking it down a notch is what you're saying. Probably a good idea, Laura. Yeah, you can tell, though, that we're, like, frowning while recording this. Oh, wow. Like, we're not angry, but, like, Saint pissed. Okay. All right. I was kind of bummed, man, that we found out that we... Hello? Hi, Lars. Is something wrong with your nose? I was bummed because... We found out we're not going to release my custom drum kit over the weekend. Oh, no. It's pretty cool, too, man. It's like a normal drum kit that says talc on it. Yeah. But it has, like, built-in wooden shoes. Wow. Disgusting. And they double, like, as a phone, and you can do phone interviews anytime. That'd be perfect for you. That is stupid. Oh, wow. Dude, I'm so glad we're not going to be involved in that stupid record.
contract anymore man because i i've always wanted to put together an album on my own oh really yeah yeah and i'm thinking of a title that would really really let the fans know like all about like everything that we do and sort of encapsulate the band wow this is gonna be cool i'm gonna call it The best of Lars, the phone interview. That's stupid. This is going to be boring. No, don't do that. I got the first two tracks that time I called Dusty and Busty from Winnipeg in the bathroom. They're my favorites. They're my favorites. Dude, what about that time I caught the crazy Larry show from a gondola in Venice? That is actually one of my favorites. An interview. I just have to sort through another thousand hours of material. Stop calling. Hey, guys. Yes, Lars. This is Lars Ulrich from Metallica.
We can tell by the sniffles. Yeah. Listen, hey, check me out. Alec is very excited because not only do our fans get, basically, they get our music for free because we're going to be free agents. That's how it works. No, it actually isn't. Okay. But also, also, check this out. Talk sniffling. What's the deal? For eight. Check this out. For every Tallica CD they purchase, they get a free keychain of a wooden shoe. That's not a selling point. I was just going to ask you, have I mentioned that I like wooden shoes? Again and again and again. We're going to make custom guitars out of wood. Shut up, Lars. I mean, I just want to talk about anything, Lars. No, Skye, they're nothing like my shoes. But they're really cool, you know. I think our fans are really going to like them because they can, like, they can carve whatever they want in the wood. Hey, Eddie, have you ever smelled wood, bro? My favorite smell ever, dude.
I just want to let you guys know how much I really appreciate your show. I try to catch every minute. You guys are the best. Thank you, man. We appreciate it. Thank you very much. Rock 105.3. I feel like a fatty, you know? I feel like I'm fat. And I was like, yeah, dude, you should go work out at Frog's Fitness. Oh, my. And he was like, yeah, do they have, like, you know, wooden machines? Why are you still here? So you're saying Mikey asked you if they had wooden machines? Yeah, dude, because I have him, like, addicted to wood. You do? Yeah. Okay. Well, he is an addict. He came over the other day, and I was like, I wanted to send him to a meeting because he was like, let's snort some wood. I don't think, that doesn't sound like Mike. All right, it's not. It's not. You know what I have? What? I actually have some audio that I can play because we're all hooked up now. I'm hooked up for audio. Now, sound effects. For those of you that are wondering, we will have the use of sound effects very soon. That it will be probably within the next couple of days. So we're working on it. We're working on some solutions, which, and believe it or not, out of the graciousness of his heart, Sean is helping with that. Sean and Zeph got laid off on Tuesday.
The company did all these layoffs, and so they got hit. And Sean's been really cool. He's like, hey, man, let me help you out with it. So we should be up and running with that pretty soon. He is the prince of men. That's right. Prince among men. That is a saying. You know, the new chick on Idol, the fourth judge. Yeah. What's her face? Unnecessary. Her name's unnecessary. Oh, yes, that actually is correct. This was... Simon talking about, well, why did they have to do that? It's like having dinner with three people for eight years. I mean, you and I went through this. You know, you can get, you can get, you kind of run out of conversation. And you need somebody else at the table. You're saying we should have had somebody else at our table. Well, maybe just join us on holiday or something. You know, just fill in those awkward silence. We can relate, eh, Sky? Me and you, I mean, we can... Well, it's a joke on both of us, you know what I'm saying? Like me and you, like we can relate, both of us. That was a good one, Mike. That was rough. I didn't think that was going to go like that. What do you think, Denzel? You know, it's been just a beautiful night. That was his best way he could explain it. Do you think that was rough on Sky, Denzel? You know, it's been just a vine.
Why won't you let him speak? I mean, what's up with you? I'm just afraid he says something wrong, you know? No, he was talking about being at the inauguration of President Obama. You know, it's been just a beautiful, unifying, inspiring day. You know, it gives us all a sense of our responsibility and civic duty. It was obviously his history. I was able to stand 25 yards and... Well, if he's Mr. People's President, how come he didn't have normal people sitting there? I mean, Denzel. Denzel and me. What did you do to deserve that? Come on. Training day? Exactly. Really? Thank you. He's supposed to be the people's president. I don't get that. Oh, man. Dude, I'm telling you. It's tough for me to hear everybody on the Obama stuff. It's like, come on, man. You know, he's a human being, for crying out loud. Are you sure? He's an awesome human being. But he hasn't done anything yet. Awesomeness. I hate that. Give him a chance. That's kind of my thing. Let's give him a chance. Let's give him a chance to be.
And then, you know, like I let me tell you, I would be down with all this talk for years from now after he's done all these amazing things and saying, hey, listen, this guy has really brought it. Then I would. But I mean, up until now, all we've heard is really amazing speeches that are inspiring, but not any work yet. Inspiring. Yeah. But I mean, nothing of substance yet. Let's see it. And then we'll be like, yeah. It's amazing to have the, you know, power to inspire people. Absolutely. I agree with that. I call that a motivational speaker. Tony Robbins isn't our president. You know what I mean? I mean, he's a very inspirational guy. He's also the Dallas quarterback. Yeah, absolutely. That's a different. Tony Robbins. That's Tony Robbins. That's Tony Robbins. Different guy. Yeah. All right, fine, Beyonce. Go ahead. I can't even describe to you how. I felt. I mean, I'm actually right now fighting back tears. Why? Leave her alone. Let her feel the way she feels. It's just so emotional. And I'm so proud of my country. And there are certain people in the world that are just God touches. And this man was born for this. Yes, you are correct. He was. I don't disagree. And he was born to lead us. And I just feel so inspired.
She's not the only one. Yep. You're not alone, Sasha. There's a lot of people that feel that way, Sasha. Fine, you want to see more? I was thinking all of the sacrifices Obama and his wife and his children have made. All of the sacrifices that his wife and his... Now, these sacrifices are not different than what the Bush... You know, what the... You know, Jenna... Those sacrifices that Jenna made, too, right? They're exactly the same? Yeah. This is funny, because, like, I wouldn't have heard Beyonce saying that about President Bush. Well, no, I don't think anyone asked her. When he was getting inaugurated. No, I know, but when he was getting inaugurated. Okay, fine. At last, he's here, and it was all worth it, and so embarrassed, but I'm just so lucky to be the heart of this history. It's probably the most important day of my life, and I'm so grateful. It's awesome. Unbelievable. I think it's... Beautiful. I agree. Why? I was, remember Mike? What? When I was having that conversation with my friend Calvin and he really like put it in perspective for me like from his point of view and he was like crying about it too. From the point of view that you're, if you're coming from the point of view of, hey listen, I'm black.
This is our first black president. It's really amazing to me. And that's what he was saying. And he was tearing up saying that because he's like, I never thought I'd see the day. Dude. And this is. I got to tell you, like, from that perspective, I even me, man, I think that's really amazing. I get that. The thing that makes me crazy is this whole, like, this guy is really amazing for what he is, you know, what he says and what he. He's got great ideas. Oh, Sky. Tell me some of his ideas. What's your favorite one? Oh, my favorite one is the green technologies and bringing more jobs to the U.S. No, no. Honestly, I'm being honest. That sort of sounds like...
Hey, he's got this idea that we should all be happy, and I think that's a really good idea. I love that, you know, that he thinks we should smile. Didn't Al Gore have those ideas? And I loved him, too. I thought he was great. You did not act like this. You did not love Al Gore. You did not act like this. And you didn't even love Barack Obama. Did you even vote for Al Gore? You loved John Edwards. You loved John Edwards. Yes, I voted for Al Gore. You did? Well, yeah. I mean, he would have been. Was he your guy? You voted in that election? Yeah. I wasn't passionate about that election. Wait a minute, Scott. I knew you back then. But I did vote for him. Two words. Two words. Let's see. Eddie, you're going to like this. The McRib has landed. I love you McRib! Save that clip. I will, I will, I will. It's been spotted at the McDonald's on... Eddie, you're going to have to drive. I don't care, it's worth it. I don't know, the 15 and Arrow. Right here? Yes. Shut your mouth. I'm going there after the show. Are you serious? That's what it says, dude. It says the McRib has landed. It's at the McDonald's on the 15 and Arrow. It's P1 McRib. Here's what it does. No, Eddie. Talk about it, dude. You get a piece of pork. Yeah, real good. And you shape it to make it look like ribs. You know, you shave it. You shave it down. And then you get a pot of...
Barbecue sauce. Okay. And you stack them in there. Yeah. And they soak in that barbecue sauce all day until you order one. Yeah. And you take them out. You put them on a nice toasty bun that fits the McRib perfectly. Hey, Eddie. You put some onion on there. I'm not done. I have a question about this, though. Let him finish. All right. I didn't even get to the pickles. Fine. Go ahead. Ask away. Oh, Mike, you really ruined it. But, Eddie. There's pickles on it. Oh, are there? It's delicious. I wish I could hear about them. Yeah. But, Eddie. But Mike has a question. Isn't this sandwich available at any barbecue restaurant throughout the country? You show me one barbecue joint that shapes its pork products like a rib. Talk about it. And I will go there and eat it. But no place is smart enough to do that.
It's like you can eat the rib. It's like you can eat the bone. Oh, look at that bone. Oh, wait. Oh, no. I'm eating it. Oh, delicious. Oh, yeah. I love it. Oh, is that a pickle? Yes. Oh, don't mind if I do. Thank you. I didn't know there were pickles. Thank you. There is a pickle. Yes, there is. Gives it the perfect compliment of, like, salty and sweet. Oh, delish. Be excited about something in this country? Like, wouldn't it be the McRib? Dude, it's so crazy that you say that because I actually have a clip of Beyonce responding to the release of the McRib. I can't even describe to you how I felt. I mean, I'm actually right now biting back tears. Me too. It's just so emotional. I know. I'm so proud of my country. Beyonce on the McRibs release again in the United States. What is more American than the McRibs? Seriously, dude. I challenge you. This man was born for this. I know it. She's talking about Eddie. She's talking about Eddie. And I just feel so inspired. Eating that McRib.
There is only one thing more American, and that is Eddie's All-American Lunch. Take it easy, Rob. Did you see it today, Rob? There were Fritos. I hate being in this room. There were Fritos in there, bro. Fritos, so American. What was the sandwich? I believe it was PB&J. Oh, yeah. We invented PB&J. George Washington's favorite drink. Bet you didn't know it. If you could just comment on Eddie and his lunch today. I can't even describe to you how I felt. I mean, I'm actually right now fighting back tears. I am too. It's just so emotional. And I'm so proud of my country. And there are certain people in the world that are just God touches. And this man was born for this. And he was born to lead us. And I just feel so inspired. She's so proud. She can't even talk. I know. She can't even talk. The Fritos put her over the top. That's what I'm saying. How has nobody brought us a McRib yet? It's been 30 seconds. That's a good question. You're making his point. It's been 30 seconds. Where is it? Where is it? Do we not give you the gift of laughter every day? That's right. You know what I mean? I definitely do. That's right. Fine. I say bring it on.
Enjoy your free laughs, everybody. Your complimentary giggles. That's right. Scooter. P1 Scooter on the line. Talk to me, Scooter. Scooter. Scoot. Talk. Yes. Talk. Hit me. Hey, in this month's Maxim Magazine, there's an article on the McRib. It says what they're made out of, and there is a link to a website that says where they're available. Yeah, it's the McRib Finder. I know. I've read it. What? Did you really? Are you? Scooter, Eddie. Scooter, wait, wait, wait. Eddie, you were for real? He's so kidding. Talk to me. Talk to me about it. What does it say, Scooter? Swimsuit edition. Check it out. All right. But there's very little rib meat in it, but it's mostly shoulder meat. Oh, yeah. Fine with me. Fine with me. Let me ask, is it pork?
Yeah. I'm good to go. From shoulder meat to McRib sandwich. I don't care if it's snouts, dude. It tastes good. It tastes real good. I mean, it soaks in barbecue sauce all day. It's yummy. You could put a shoe in there. Okay, so are we going to get one right now? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I am starving. Yeah. They're awesome. Scooter, thank you. It's inspiring. You're welcome. Thank you. It is. It really was. Mikey Show. Go ahead, dude. Preach. Preach it. Well, I worked at a McDonald's for two years. That thing is gnarly to make. It's disgusting. It's not gnarly. Eddie worked there. I worked at McDonald's, too. It is not gnarly to make. All they do is take those things out of the packaging, you put it in the barbecue sauce, and let it sit there until somebody orders it. What's so bad about that? Okay, have you ever really thought about that? How long can that thing sit in there? Days. 14 days. Days, bro. That's Flavortown. Have you ever heard of marinade and something? Yeah, hello. Yeah, once you get into my truck, I'll give you a ride to Flavortown. All aboard. Next stop, Yummyville.
Skye, you're coming with us. No, I will not. It is pork. Chances that Skye. Skye, it's like ham. I will not. It's not the McHam, but it is pork. You would love it. I will not eat one of those. Skye, come on. Why are you acting like that? Why are you? I will not. Why? What's the issue? Well, I don't eat. You're a McRibbist. I don't eat or enjoy ribs. Because of the bone. Because of the bone. That's true. You? Eddie got you there. That is part of it. I mean, imagine a world where there are no bones. Oh, that's awful. What an awful world. Eddie, what is this utopia you speak of? McRibville. Ah, yes. More for you, sir. You're going to have one, but that will force it down your throat. Oh, I will not. Well, then you better not fall asleep. Huh? It's you and barbecue sauce. Oh, no. Let me ask a question. Yes, please. Oh, no. Lanika, how do you feel after eating a McRib? Your roommate, Latoya. Hi, Latoya. Hi. This is Latoya. I'm sorry. I said it wrong. It's Latoya. How do you feel when you will have it? It was like a month. About a month? A month? Yeah. A month of not going to do number two? Why? It's hard. It's like I have to do a laxative to make myself lose it. Body does not absorb it.
It does not. I just read. I want my rib to stay in my body for years. No, that is a side effect of the McRib. No, I like that. You cannot go after. It's part of the extra delights that you get for free. Compliment. And then eventually, colon, you can have it. Yeah. Be a few years, Mr. Colin. I want everything else to happen. You're going to vomit right now. Can you not? Mr. Rectum, enjoy. Okay. Shush. Shush. Shush. Shush. How about this? No more of this talk. Tell me what your problem with the McRib is. She doesn't even know, Mike. She doesn't have a problem with it. Yeah. Talk. Tell me your problem. Talk. I don't care for things that are pressed into shapes to look like other things. Hey, wait, wait. Does it make it taste different? Wait. Please tell us what your favorite combination is at Cold Stone. It's a lemon sorbet. With? With M&M's and gummy bears. Really? Gummy bears. Gummy bears. Like that all-natural gummy bear tree that they come from. It's an actual bear. It's an actual bear, Eddie. Well, they have to hunt. You've never seen them at the zoo. You've never seen them at the zoo.
Go to the zoo, bro. Thank you. You're eating a McRae today. Yes, you are. Yes, you are. I got things to do, bro. Yes. It's Janet, like it's an Obama thing. Yes, you are. Yes, you are. Yes, you are. Leave me alone. And I'll wash it down with this tasty beverage. Thank you. Stupid. 570-1053. I can't wait. Can we get off? Yeah. I need a McRib. Bad. I'm jonesing, bro. You already had your all-American lunch. I don't care. I'll throw it up. That's fantastic. I am so bummed that Sean doesn't get to hear the list of the most common phobias. He's all 10. Okay. Heights. Agoraphobia. Heights, agoraphobia. Heights? Yep, number six. Does it have a name? Acrophobia. Acrophobia. Adoraphobia. Everything's adorable to you. Well, you're afraid of the Obama girls. Yes. It's adoraphobia. What did you say, Rob? Agoraphobia. Yes, that's number four. What is that again? Going outside.
Claustrophobia. Number five, claustrophobia. Bankropophobia. Arachnophobia. Arachnophobia is number one, Ashley. Brokophobia. Fighters. Did Eddie just say close the door-ophobia? He didn't. What about kaiser-phobia? Has anybody ever heard of kaiser-phobia? Sunburn-ophobia? Burophobia. Credit union-phobia. Oh, that was a stretch. I'm sorry. I'm grieving. Homophobia. Yeah, right. What's the opposite? Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck. Wow. Sky, what else? Yes, we're all out of jokes. Okay, number 10 is necrophobia, the fear of death or dead things. Oh, yeah. Number nine is brontophobia. Yeah, brontosaurus. You're afraid of them. Fear of thunder. Number eight is... Brockmonophobia. Yeah, that's going around. Carcinophobia, which is the fear of cancer.
Number seven. Yeah, who knew? Okay, I don't know. Floodophobia? Is that how it's pronounced? What? What do you mean is that how it's pronounced? You just told her I wrote it to you now, you dummy. Floodophobia? Really? Hold on. Mike, you're a bastard. Floodophobia. I thought she was a friend. Really, dude? I didn't see it. He said it. I definitely. Hey, there is no proof of that as soon as I delete that. Both of you. Number seven. Eddie. What? Lost my camera-a-phobia. You pronounced it wrong. It's lost my, what is it, purse-a-phobia? Yeah, purse. Shut up. Shut up. All of you. You guys, the phone lines are ringing. Be quiet. Mikey Show. Mikey. Oh, come on. Mikey Show. What about gopher phobia? What's that one where you have to order a side of rice? That's called fart phobia. Gas phobia. Mikey Show. Mikey Show, what's up? It's P1 Mondo. What's up, dude?
Not much. Hey, dude, I called last Thursday. I asked some personal advice for my wedding anniversary for a gift. Oh, that's called advice-ophobia. Yeah. Memory jar-ophobia. Oh, right. Oh, yeah. Re-gift-ophobia. Oh, no, bro. I just read circle-ophobia. Oh, my. It's people that are terrified. Terrified. Get me out of this thing. I don't know where I am. Don't ask me to do this. Where are you, Eddie? I can't. I'm going to run this thing 50 times. No. I can't just turn left. Wait a minute. Don't hit me. Sky, is that on there? No. Oh, my gosh. I'm going to throw up. I wish you would. I really wish you would.
Yeah, that's actually number seven, amenophobia. Circulophobia? Which is the fear of vomiting, number seven. I have that. Oh, me too. Don't we all innately have that? Yeah. As opposed to the other people that just adore it. They just adore it. Oh, Eddie, Eddie, man. Hey! It's a little... Really? Really? Really? Yes, really. Number three, aerophobia, which is the fear of flying. Aerophobia. I have that. That's what it's called. Aerophobia. Aerophobia. I have that. Oh, what's that? Pronunciationophobia? Oh, well, that is so messed up. I am grieving. It's enunciationophobia. And then finally, number two is... It's called Leonardo-phobia. Finally, number two is social phobia. Thank you. I can do that list every day. Oh, every day. Wow, that was tough. Sky? No, I have no more list. No, come on. I have no more left. We're all done. I think I threw up a little. 570-1053 is the number.
I'm going to clear these up. At the beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment so you can call about anything. Circle-ophobia. Let it go. I didn't get lost in a circle. I just wanted to. Tomorrow, in the studio, WEC fighter Jens Pulver will be in the studio. Former UFC lightweight champion. That guy's awesome. That's pretty awesome. Can I ask a question? Yep. Eddie, who do you think is going to win, Pulver or Faber? Because I saw Faber fight last night, an old fight, and he's freaking good. Well, you know, until this last fight, Uriah Faber was like pound for pound. Unreal. As the best fighter in mixed martial arts. Yeah. So I think he just had a little hiccup last time he fought. Because he got knocked out. Yeah. Well, he tried to do this like flying elbow in the fight, which was bizarre.
I love flying stuff when they don't connect with anything. The guy just kind of stepped to the side and then just went and knocked him out. Oh, wow. So, yeah, Jens will probably have a good take on that. And if you haven't heard the McRibs back. Dude, let's go. Let's go now. Come on. Skye, you're driving. I am not. You're eating one. I am not. You are. You are 100% going to eat one. I've got things to do, bro. Do we have to have Ronald McDonald himself bring one in here? Yes. If he does, then I will try one. Dude, we've got to hook it up. Done and done. Done and done. Remus will be here tomorrow morning. I want to see his driver's license and make sure I'm drilling him. It's eight feet tall. He can't fit it through the door. It's an eight-foot-tall driver's license. P1 Jason, what's up? Hey, Eddie, how about that orcophobia? Oh, that's... Eddie. That's the real thing. That's the actual... Hey, I'm right here. Oh my gosh, you suffer from that? Oh my gosh, I didn't know. My bad. Oh man, I'm glad I'm not being made fun of. P1 Adam.
called claustrophobia. We already covered it, bro. It's on the list. Hey, Mikey, how about seacrestophobia? Oh, really? No, see, that would be the opposite for Mike. Mike, line five, important call. P1 Rude Dog? Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up? Hey, did a jacuzzi club closing a phobia make sense? Some people are really afraid of that. Really, real dog? They're terrified of it. I thought we were friends. No! No! Whatever. Whatever. Mikey Shaw, hello. Yeah! Yes! What's up, man? Hey, this is P1 Crusader again. What's up? Not much, man. Same thing. Just want to see if I can hit it. Hit it. Go ahead. Well done. That's what we should do, by the way. Every day, why don't we have somebody hit it? Yes, I like it. Every day we'll have a designated hit it. I like it. They'll be the designated hitter. I like it. I love it. I like it. You know, I just remembered what I was going to say. Lovely and talented Missy's up next. So, make sure you're listening. Later in the show.
She's got the lost and found, so she's going to play songs you haven't heard in a long time. It's going to be awesome. Make sure you call her with your requests. If she can't find it, she'll play it for you. It's coming up with Missy. What just happened? What just happened? I don't know. I missed it. I missed it. I missed it. I missed it. I'm such a jerk. Eddie? She's pantomiming earlier this morning when Sky banged her head on the cabinet. She's pantomiming. She's doing it. She ran into it. It hurts. Yeah. I'm not laughing at that. Eddie, one day, why don't we hire a mime to come in and do that?
