Mikey described being humbled in a senior-center writing class, then told Rebecca's painful news that a corrupted drive had erased most of their videos of Jake. Julia sought advice after her teenage daughter's boyfriend followed the family to Glamis, and the crew argued for firm limits and contacting his parents without turning the romance into a forbidden obsession. Boston Rob's Tom Brady song, Ashley and Skye's clue game, Sean's devotion to Banacek, and the chaotic trivia challenge supplied the show's main comedy. Skye laid out the proposed tax rebates while caller Ryan challenged the stimulus as debt shifted to children, and Michael Stahl-David explained how Cloverfield was cast, concealed, titled, and filmed. The show closed its heavier material with outrage at Drew Peterson's lawyer and Mikey's account of surviving addiction through faith, family support, and recovery.

What happened, in order

  1. The senior writing class

Mikey said the experienced seniors in his new writing class were so polished that he became embarrassed to read his own work.

  2. The lost baby videos

Mikey and Rebecca learned that a corrupted external drive had permanently erased most of the videos they had taken of their 16-month-old son Jake.

  3. Ashley Pyramid

Ashley tried to describe categories in her eccentric shorthand while Skye translated clues about child stars, Tom Brady, wars, cereal mascots, and photographers.

  4. The boyfriend who followed them

Julia asked for help after her daughter's 17-year-old boyfriend ignored a clear refusal and tracked the family to a campsite in Glamis.

  5. Boston Rob serenades Brady

Boston Rob debuted an unintentionally suggestive Tom Brady parody that the rest of the crew mocked before he tried to repair it with an inner-monologue effect.

  6. The rebate debate

Skye explained the proposed federal rebate amounts and income cutoffs before caller Ryan argued that the stimulus merely borrowed money from future generations.

  7. Inside Cloverfield

Michael Stahl-David described paying his own way to an early audition, protecting the monster's secrecy, the film's abandoned titles, and the motion-sickness reaction to its camera work.

  8. Sean discovers Banacek

Sean enthusiastically celebrated the DVD release of the 1970s insurance-investigator series Banacek while Mikey and the crew savaged it as painfully dull.

  9. Dumb Chick Challenge

Ashley, Skye, and Boston Rob stumbled through a trivia contest involving Braille, light-bulb filaments, killer whales, the Supreme Court, and the fifty-dollar bill.

  10. The thousand-footer slip

The hosts repeatedly played a viral newscast in which reporter Julie Pierce mangled the phrase "thousand-foot ship" into an obscene on-air slip.

  11. Win a Date with Drew

The crew recoiled as Drew Peterson's lawyer defended his client dating again by insisting that missing wife Stacey had simply left with another man.

  12. Mikey's recovery testimony

Mikey contrasted his former life of alcohol and drug addiction with his present family life and said that asking Jesus Christ for help gave him hope and began his recovery.
