Maybe that's all, you know, that's it, and then we just move on. Maybe that's, you know, there's no reason to rub any salt in the wound. It hurts, and, you know, we just, you know, the focus this morning is going to be, well, what does B-Rob think? But the bottom line is, is that he's been through a lot, and, you know, I had to do, I had to talk about it, but at the same time, you know, you love your friend, you don't want him to be, you don't want him to be all bummed out. I actually considered... This is a true story. I actually considered letting Rob know that if he wanted to, it was alright to take a day. I almost did. But then I thought, eh, you know, I'll make it worse for him if he's just there at home alone moping about it. It'd make the whole thing worse. Gotta get out and just go through the motions. That's right. Life goes on. That's right. It does? Yep. I heard NyQuil. NyQuil for this. This is not the cure-all. No, NyQuil is not the cure-all. No, I saw it on a commercial. That is actually not true.
Welcome to the show. It's the Mikey Show. Of course, we're going to be talking about the Super Bowl a lot. When did that happen? Oh, no. If you are not a regular listener of the show, there are seven people on the program, and one of the people on the show is from Boston. And, boy, his life is very centered around New England sports. particularly the Red Sox and the Patriots. And so yesterday was a big day for him, being a Patriot fan. And I still think that there is a bright side, and the bright side is they've won three championships in six years, and what are you going to do? I mean, that's pretty good. Three. There is no other team that can say that they've won three championships in six years.
We had a great season. I mean, you can't take that away from us. That is correct. They were undefeated. They had an undefeated season. A lot of records set. A lot of great football. That is correct. Okay. Times you start watching, Rob. Coverage. When I woke up. Eleven. What time did I get up? About eight. So you're watching ESPN, stuff like that? Yeah. They went through all the Patriots Super Bowls. What time did you start watching the Fox coverage? Well, I had to drive up to Temecula yesterday. So we were on the road from about one till quarter to three. Where did you watch the game? At my fiancé's aunt's. Was that... Did you know that that was going to be the deal all along? Oh, yeah. Were you cool with that or were you a little superstitious about that? I don't want to get it. Oh, man. That was a loaded question. We'll talk about that one tomorrow. Oh, that hurts. But it was fun and good company and good people and good food. Everything was good. Yeah, except for whatever was on TV.
Now, did you leave before the game ended? No. The TV was off with two seconds left. So, did you see Belichick? No. Walking off the field? Mm-mm. You did not see him walking off the field? Uh-uh. Before the game was over? Uh-uh. Yeah, he did. I don't blame him. Wow. So, let's go around and introduce everyone. My name's Mikey. I'm the host of the show, The Mikey Show, and I'm 37. And I had LASIK eye surgery one time, so I've got pretty good vision. I don't know what else I can tell you. I see good. I can see through the walls. Whoa. That is fantastic. It's pretty awesome. Look at the same surgery. You must not have gotten the one I got. I got the wall surgery. See through walls. It's really good. Well said. Let's see. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He is 34 years of age.
I enjoyed watching the Super Bowl with Eddie yesterday. And we'll tell you about some of the comments that we made throughout the game. It was a good time. Didn't see that coming. Nobody saw that coming, right? Not at all. Skye is our news girl. She is 30 years old. And we watched the Super Bowl over at her place. And you are a darn good hostess. Oh, thank you. You have a beautiful home. Thank you. I would like to steal the chair that I sat on. Jerome's, dude. I've never seen anything like it. It's exactly, exactly what I've described to my wife that I want. I didn't think it existed. I'm so glad you like it because it's kind of, you know, it's different. And so I was like, gosh, no one's going to want to sit there, but there's not that much seating. What do you want to do?
tears to come out of my eyes. What it is, I like to sit with my wife. I really like to, but we don't have anything I can sit with her. We could sit on the couch, but I like to put my feet up. And I said, I wish they had a two-man recliner. So I could sit with my wife and put a blanket over us and watch some TV like old people. And that's perfect for it. Awesome! It's super comfy. Anyway, it was really fun over there. I'm glad you had fun. Let's see. Shawnee is our sound effects guy. And I'm looking at the camera right now at his studio. Look at that. It's an office. He broadcasts out of an office. Ridiculous. You guys have seen this. Everybody listening has seen this before. It's the noise dampening.
that they put on studio walls. It's sort of like an egg crate material. It's gray and it's kind of styrofoamy. Yeah, it's like that stuff you would maybe put on your bed, like a mattress pad type thing. Exactly. But it's gray and on the walls. Well, kind of. As I'm looking at the camera right now in Sean's studio, it's peeling off the wall. What the hell? Yeah, it actually fell off the wall this morning and knocked my coffee. All over, like everything. The floor on the desk, the phone is fried in here. You look nice today, Sean. I like the shirt. Sean's got a button up. I mean, it's as sincere as I can be. That's an obvious attack. I think you look nice. How's the face? Ask about the face. How is your infected face? It's fine, Mike. Sean, I'm being 100% serious. You told us last week that you had a face infection, and I want to know if it's getting better. It's getting a little bit better, Mike. It hasn't improved to the point where it's healed. No. It's just getting better. Correct. So those antibiotics that you were on are kicking in. They're starting to do their thing, Mike. That's good. All right. When do you think you'll shave?
When it heals. Okay. Whoa. And it is not there yet. It is not there. There's still a giant hole in my face. Oh. Okay. That is really an upsetting thing, isn't it? Yeah, it is. A hole in my face. There's a hole in his face. Dang it. That was a song by the band Extreme. I don't know if you guys remember that. It came out. Oh, I do remember that. There's a hole in my face that can only be filled with glue. Ew. Whole face. Sean is looking at the ceiling right now and he is slowly waving his head. I'm waiting for the stuff to peel off. There you go. Ashley is our assistant producer and she came over yesterday and we got to meet a very good friend of hers. A very good friend. And I liked him. I thought he was a nice person. Is that her boyfriend?
I don't know. I don't know that they are calling each other anything of this nature. Last week I said that and everybody ran out of the room with their hair on fire screaming. I don't know that we discussed it yet. It hasn't come up in conversation yet. It hasn't come up in conversation. So both of them are free to date. No, no. We had that talk. Oh, you had that talk. What was that talk? They're exclusive daters. He just like in... like we were talking about something and he said, yeah, he's like, well, he's like, you're the only person I want to date right now. And I said, good, I feel the exact same way. Oh, and he's your boyfriend. That's your boyfriend. Well, no, that's commitment. Labels, labels. Please, we're adults. We're not children. We're not children. He's my boyfriend? Yeah, he's your boyfriend. When you're not going to see anybody else, listen, my wife and I have that agreement as well. It's called marriage. So they're married? Well, no, no, Eddie, they are not married. They are not married. Congratulations. They are not married. They have not signed a legal document and they have not. That's one of my honeymoon. Nobody. They're engaged. They're just engaged. Anyway, well, we met him and he was a nice person. Boston Rob. And I'm sure there's some people, there's some P1s that are like, that's it? Mikey? You're just going to say. You're just going to say. You're just going to say.
that Ashley's boyfriend is nice and move on? Why would you do that? Well, if you have made an agreement that you're... No, they didn't say that. You said that you're dating each other exclusively. Why did he use that? And he's like, I didn't say I was her boyfriend. Well, I don't think he will. He's had your cookies. He's in. That is true. That's another story. That's true. Thank you. So, all I can tell you is that we will revisit. We'll revisit. I'll tell you everything. Please. Awesome! I'll tell you everything. Boston Rob... is our phone screener. Eddie, why'd you purse your lips and shake your neck like a nut? I just, I can't even, I don't have it. I can't do it for it. I can't attack him. You can't attack him. I feel so bad for the guy. Yeah. You know? I mean, that has got to be a horrible feeling. Horrible feeling. It is. Well, we know kind of what it feels like, you know? No, we don't.
We don't. Well, as 49er fans, we don't. But as Charger fans, we certainly know the feeling. We don't. We don't know the feeling of a Super Bowl. We don't know the feeling of that, of... Perfection loss. Okay. I don't know any of this. We don't know that feeling. Nobody knows that feeling. I was piercing. Nobody knows that feeling. I don't know any of this. Rob's eyes are fluttering. They're fluttering. Hang in there. Hang in there, guys. Fluttering. What do you want? You want the tears to come out of my eyes? It's almost over. Four more hours. And then it's all done, dude, and you can go home. You're good. You can flutter at home. There you go. Zethian Oates is a young man. He's the seventh member of the show, and he's 22, and he was over at Skies yesterday, too. And he is a sweetheart of a guy, and I really enjoy being around him. And he said about four sentences over at Skies yesterday, and they were all shocking. Whenever Zeth says something, it's always accompanied by Zeth! Yeah. Utterly horrendous. So, there you go.
So I don't know, guys. 570-1053 is our phone number. You tell us where we should start. What do you want to know? What do you want us to do here? Should we talk about this Super Bowl and do it in a way that is not going to upset B-Rob because we know B-Rob is real upset today? I actually really want to get his take. Like, is he mad at anything? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Does he think it was a legit thing? Like, because I actually feel that the officiating was questionable. There was a few questionable calls I felt. Really? I felt Sky jinxed the Patriots. What? At one point. Oh, don't. I'm going to tell him. I'm going to tell him. Hang on. Pause, pause, pause. No. No. So this is what I want you to do, P1s. I want you to call us and I want you to tell us, do you want to go that direction? Eddie, no. Or do you want to go, do you want to talk about that? Do you want to talk about like the commercials, all that stuff? Should we go that direction? Do you want to hear right now about the actual Super Bowl party that we had over at Skies? Do you want to hear about that? Do you want to hear about Ashley's boyfriend?
Do you want to hear about how Eddie was a little disturbed by Ashley yesterday? A little. Where do you want to start, P1s? 570-1053. P1s are Mikey Show listeners. So whenever you hear P1, it stands for Priority One. They are our main priority listeners because they listen exclusively to the Mikey Show. I know you'll like them. I love them. I do. You turn new people onto the Mikey Show. You tell people about it. You get them addicted as you are. It's really great. It's like heroin, but good for you. Pay it forward. Yeah, you pay it forward. 570-1053 is the phone number. And we'll start with P1 Patsfan. P1 Patsfan, are you there? Good morning, Mikey Show. How are you? Good. How are you? I'm devastated. I love all night. I'm just really anxious. I'm shocked. I just was hoping you guys would be really good to Boston Rob today because, you know, I feel for him. We're both from New England, and, you know, I keep trying to tell myself it's just another football game, but this is just the worst one ever. Well, listen, I think that we're going to try to be very nice to Boston Rob today. I really appreciate that. At the same time, you know, I've got to tell you that we've got to discuss the game.
Of course. And, you know, it's going to be discussed for months now. Sure. And I'm going into work and I have a pit in my stomach because everyone's going to give me crap. That's the worst. That's the worst. And it's like, you know, if you had any dignity and respect, just say, hey, I'm sorry. Instead of just be like, ha ha, you know, you went through, you know. It depends. how you are as a fan. If you were in there gloating, talking your business, then they have every right to come back at you. Now, if you were quiet... Now, wait a minute, Eddie. I have a question about that because if that is the rule here, if that's the gold standard that we're doing this upon, speaking for myself, I certainly remember after the Charger loss getting some text messages from Rob that I felt were a little... Questionable. Oh, really? Yes, I did. What did the text message say? I remember that the first text that I got when I was, you know, kind of upset, you know, that the game was over and his pats had beat my Chargers. I was a little upset about it. What did it say? Boston Rob sent me a text saying, hey, good game though, huh? Oof.
And I remember that was a little... That was a little... That was a little... That was... I don't know if you can take it at... You can interpret it. Oh, well, yeah, unless you know the guy. Unless you know the guy. Unless you know the guy. Okay, how about this? A lot of people are saying that this Super Bowl is one of the top five Super Bowls ever played as far as excitement level goes. Yeah, yeah. Everybody okay with that? Yeah, definitely. Yeah. For sure. It was. Okay. No doubt about it. That was one heck of a game. No doubt about it. Okay. Well, I mean, you know, as a Pax fan... New England sports fan. We're very loyal, as you know. And we follow our sports regardless of where we live. That is true. And I appreciate how the Chargers have fought their way. It was always questionable about North Turner being the coach. I have a question. Go ahead, Eddie. Pats fan, are you mad at anybody? Are you mad at Brady? Are you mad at Belichick? Are you mad at anybody? No, you know, I'm disappointed. I can't say I'm mad. I might have sounded a little mad towards the end of the game, you know, when I was just, you know, flipping out at the TV, just very upset at a 35-second lap. Thank you, Patsman. He had to run. Thank you very much. I appreciate your call. So I do. I want to hear Rob's. Rob, how can you be mad? Look at what those guys did this year. I could be mad. I mean, maybe you kick a field goal.
Instead of going for it on fourth? Fourth of 13, you mean? I don't know. Maybe a kick or field goal there. But I'm not a coach. Maybe you do. I'm not a player. I don't know. I'm not a professional. So I've seen them do this, and Eddie's seen them do this. We've all seen them do this in the season where it be fourth down. And that Belichick, he'll decide. He says to himself, we're the best. We can get it done on fourth down. I like that mentality that he has. It didn't work this time. It just didn't work this time. I said to Zeth. Yeah. As soon as that happened, that's going to cost them. That's going to cost them because I don't know how you go for it at 4th and 13 when you could kick a 49-yard field goal, which is no gimme, but it's not the worst. It was a makeable field goal, so I don't understand that mentality. Here is Bill Belichick. explaining that, Eddie. Okay. And many other things, because there's a lot of questions that came up about the game. And here is Bill Belichick sort of explaining all the decisions throughout the game, cut 11. I mean, look, they played well. They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more than we did.
But, okay. But, Bill, we still have a couple of... How come you don't challenge anything? All right, Bill, why did you decide fourth and 13? 13 yards seems like a lot to pick up a first down. Why did you decide to go for it then? Why, with 35 seconds left and all your timeouts, did you not throw it in the middle of the field? Bill? Why were you throwing Hail Marys? Bill, can you answer that one for us? I mean, no, look, they... They played well. They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more, and we did. That's all I need. I'm confident. That's it? That's it? Bill, I noticed at one point, at the end of the game, there's still two seconds left on the clock, and you walked off the field before the game was actually over. Why did you do that, Bill? I mean, look, they played well. They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more, and we did. That doesn't explain it at all. I feel more confused by the answer than I was before I asked it. I'm good. That's just the way it goes. Set the record straight. Why would you wear a hoodie indoors? Bill, did you realize that you were on national television? The stage in the world. Oh, forget it. Rob, no. You don't want to...
I agree with Eddie. I wanted to know what your thoughts were on how it all played out. Fair? Yeah. I mean, I don't know what team that was on the field yesterday. The Patriots didn't show up. Tom Brady had no time to throw the ball. I mean, thank God for the defense because we could have got beaten a lot more. Do you feel Brady was off? Yeah. Oh, yeah. He was off all game long. Yeah. I wonder if the Giants sent the thank you card to the Chargers because that first half, I was thinking about it later, and I thought that first half was very reminiscent of the first half of the AFC Championship in the way that the Chargers were getting after them, specifically the way they did. It looked like they watched a lot of that, the Giants' defense, and they kind of approached it very similarly, and it worked.
It's a very questionable offensive game plan by the Patriots in the first half. Oh, I have a clip of Belichick talking about that. Good, good, good. Cut 11. I mean, no, look, they played well. They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more than we did. I don't illuminate anything. I have more questions. Getting into the more detail. It's frustrating. Well, 570-1053 is the phone number. Uh, let's see. P1 Jim is on the line. Yeah. What's going on, dude? Hey, man, don't worry about Rob's... Damn, that... I mean, sorry. Last night's game was beautiful. It's a sweet revenge for the Chargers. Are you a Giants fan? No. I'm a Charger fan, but I loved it. I wanted to see someone take these guys down because other teams had their shots. They almost done, and the Giants did it. Great. Don't worry about Rob, man. I'm sure he played sports before. He can take the loss. That's right. He's taking it like a man. I got to give it to him.
I think he's taking his lumps. Come on, though. You know, as fans, how much that hurts. Oh, yeah. Like, that hurts, man. And the Super Bowl is the biggest game of the year. And to add it on it that they had a chance to do something that no team has ever done before. I mean, this is terrible loss. These are the questions in my mind, though, Eddie. And I kind of said it to you yesterday when we were sitting there at Skies. And I was in that comfy chair. Yeah. Okay. That's so awesome. Okay. You didn't move, by the way. You did not move. Dude, it was so great, man. I wanted to borrow it. I had to move a lot. Why did you just look at Ashley when you said that? There was reasons. Okay, let's talk about that in a little bit. I must have said to Eddie a ton of times yesterday, I go, what do you think it's like where Rob is? Oh, yeah. Dude, when it was...
7-3, going into the third quarter. Even though they were leading, like both me and Mike were saying, it's probably like the silence is deafening over there. Yes. Oh, man. And this is what I want to know from Rob. We know he's the most superstitious guy we've ever met. He is so superstitious. And I really do want to hear what his take is on being where he was yesterday and watching the game where he watched it. I don't know why I thought this, but I thought he watched the game at his house. Me too. I thought that it was a very controlled environment. Me too. That he had gone to great lengths to make sure that the game was going to be watched just the place he wanted it with exactly the people that he wanted to be involved so that no karma would be messed with and that all of the stars would align in a very particular way. Robert, he's screening phone calls and he's doing the body language of like, I'm very busy, Mike. But I mean, I really do want to know, bro, about... Did you hear what I said or were you screening calls and you didn't hear it? This dude was trying to tell me something. So you want to hear about... What I wanted to know was, I know that you went to very... You went to great lengths to be very particular about who you watched the Super Bowl with.
And then we all assumed that you were going to watch it at your house because it would be a controlled environment. That's where I would have liked to watch it. And so, okay, so this was not your choice. And I understand that. You've got a fiance. She's got her wishes. And in marriage, you have to make compromises like that. You've got to do that. Lesson learned. Well, I mean. It is. It's a lesson in compromise. Yeah, sure. It is. It is. Absolutely. It's like you have to do that. You have to do that. And so it was not the ideal place for you to watch the game. I wouldn't say ideal. No. Yeah. When I think of ideal, I don't know. You definitely don't think of that. Oh my gosh. Okay, so. But hold on. Let me just say this. Do you feel. I had a great time. Can I ask you this? Good people. Let me ask you this, Rob. Good times. Rob, because of how superstitious you are, do you believe that where you watch the game, played a role in the final outcome. I hold myself responsible for certain things that happen. For instance, he's got a big smile on his face. It's all in there. It's in the brain. Well, Sean, he believes that he's responsible for the loss. I'm not kidding. I might implode. I couldn't sleep last night. I went to bed at like 2.30.
Do you believe that you were responsible in part for the loss? Without a doubt. Oh my gosh. How? What did you do? What do you believe you did wrong? I couldn't find a room to get comfortable in. It was like watching the game. You couldn't find a room to get comfortable in. What are those people that talk to ghosts? you know yeah yeah like in medium yeah like a medium and they're like oh this room i feel like really negative energy in this room i felt like a medium and that every room i went into it was like very haunted and i'm like oh like chills in this room and this room like wow very hot and was there a room that was yeah of all the of all of the rooms like maybe it wasn't good but it was the best of the options yeah yeah what was that It was the garage. The garage? Wow. Wait, we have to take a break. Dude, this is really interesting, bro. No, no, no. Dude, this is interesting. I can't do this. I'm going to implode. I know, Rob. This is the most fascinating part about you because I want everyone listening to know something. He's not kidding. If you think, if you're listening right now and you're like, ah, you know, that's kind of cute. That's a funny skit.
for the rate it's not it's really not you guys he really believes that he's responsible for that loss and i'm not i don't i don't i don't know how to articulate and explain it to you in words that you can understand because as you're listening you're thinking that's not that's not sane but i'm telling you it's the truth And when we come back, we'll explore the space. Yeah, explore the space. Now, there are gigantic headlines out there this morning. One of them is that this Vandersloot kid in the Aruban deal was secretly videotaped talking about killing and disposing of Natalie Holloway. And that is news today. And so we will tell you what he said when we come back. We'll also delve delicately and gently into Boston Rob's psyche. Delicately and gently. All I want to know is I want to study a human being. I just want to study and understand. That's all. I want to know how he processes this. I just got a taste of it. And it's so fascinating to me. It's so interesting to me. So we'll do some of that. We definitely have to talk about Eddie's feelings on.
Ashley's arrival and departure to the party yesterday. And we'll do that also lovingly, gently. For sure. Lovingly and gently. And we'll take your phone calls at 570-1053. When the game ended, I had texts from my friend Tommy. I had texts from Spaceboy. I had texts from everybody after that game ended. Everybody's first thought. it's so crazy, is Rob. Yeah. Absolutely. Rob was a big topic of conversation yesterday. I'm sure many of you P1s were talking about Rob yesterday. So anyway, so we'll take a break. We'll come back and we'll discuss these things. Rosario Dawson will be on the show before the hour's over. Actress Rosario Dawson. She's hot. Rosario. Rosario. Yeah, we'll talk to her. The Dumb Chick Challenge on the show today.
Nice. A little bit later, we'll get into all... What did you think about the commercials? Because I really do like talking about that. What did you think of the halftime show? And, you know, Tom Petty clearly lip syncing. How dare you? Katie Daryl will be on from TMZ. And Ashley's got some movie reviews to do because she went to see two smart movies. Charlie Wilson's War and the film Michael Clayton. And so we'll get her take on both films. It's all coming up. Jerry Seinfeld in the stand-up spotlight. I was best man at a wedding one time. That was pretty good. Pretty good title, I thought. Best man. I thought it was a bit much. I thought we'd have the groom and a pretty good man. That's more than enough. If I'm the best man, why is she marrying him? Had to wear the tuxedo, which I'm convinced was invented by a woman. Well, they're all the same. We might as well dress them all the same.
The tuxedo also functions as a wedding safety device for the bride. In case the groom chickens out, everybody could just take one step over. And the ceremony continues. That's why they don't say, do you take Dave Williams to be your lawfully wedded husband? They say, do you take this man? He'll slip into something more. 5-3. Guaranteed fresh or we'll brew it new. I just threw off a little of my mouth. Oh my goodness. Say it ain't so... Eddie and I both doing the eye roll at the exact same time. Ashley's boyfriend was saying Sheila Manning. Isn't that so bad? This email says, well, first of all, the subject is Boston Rob, or just B-Rob. It says, hi, I moved meetings I had in Charlotte today to Friday just so I would not miss the day of reckoning for B-Rob. What? Oh, my God.
Brutal. Signed, P1 Judgment. Oh, Robbie. I will say this. I know that feeling. I know that feeling because being a fan of radio, I know when something big happens and you know that your favorite radio show has something invested in that, you really want to hear. For sure. What are they going to say about that? What will the... And I got to tell you. We were trying to be very delicate, yet at the same time keeping in mind that he wasn't delicate with us. Yeah, we haven't laughed in his face yet. Right, right, right, right. We have not done that. We have not done that. We have not done that. I had to. I took a beating that week before the charges. Well, wait a minute, Rob. You were up in everybody's kitchen about, you know. I was not. Well, you were wearing all of your gang. I wore all my. Wait, what? Hold on. All that red. You were flying all that red in everybody's face. That is not true. When we were all in blue and gold, you were throwing all that red up in everyone's face.
But I digress. Listen, Rob. So, Rob, please. Okay, so you... I want you to walk me through the process, bro, because I know how much psychology was involved in you not being in control of who watched the Super Bowl with you and where you watched the Super Bowl. Rob said he's a big superstitious guy, and he says that he had to watch the game over at his fiancée's aunt's house. Aunt. Or as he says, his aunt. What? Nothing. He doesn't realize that here in California we don't... Never mind. And so he didn't have control over that. And I know... So when you walk in, Rob, to this house, do you immediately know, I'm not comfortable. I don't know where to go to watch the game. I don't know what room to go in. I had agreed to it. And I knew this was... The deal. Yeah, I knew it. So I had to kind of face that. Did you have a plan? No. No plan. You thought, hey, I'll figure it out when I get in there. Yeah. Because it was something that, in the back of my mind, I'm going, just back out last minute. Really? So you considered it. I can't, though, because it's my fiance. It's her family. This is something I'm dedicated to.
So you manned up. Yeah, I manned up. You walk into the house, and where is the first place that you go? Well, I make my rounds. I say hi to everyone. And is this a Patriot house, or are they just ambivalent? They're all from back east. They moved out here. So, I mean, it's good people. There was one guy that was real good friends of the family, New York fan. So automatically uncomfortable. I'm like, I don't know him, but he's great friends with the family, so I'm going to be nice. I don't know him, so there's nothing personal, but it's New York, Boston. It's like if my mom called me yesterday, I wasn't picking up the phone. Sure. No. So then Rob said he couldn't get comfortable.
finding a place to watch the game in the house because every room felt haunted. Well, that's the thing. It's like, once I did my rounds, you know, I've been there before, so I know what that setup is and all that. Once I did my rounds, saying hi to everybody, it was kind of, you know... Ignore that, Rob. Try to ignore it. Keep playing it, Sean. Yeah, don't read it. Don't read into it and don't try to analyze it because it'll make you crazy. So go ahead. Go ahead, Rob. That's all I heard last night in my head. I couldn't sleep. Was your girlfriend consoling you throughout the game? My fiance? Your fiance. She is in worse condition than I am. Did she cry? No. Held it back. Did you cry? No. Held it back. Seth cried. He didn't even have a vested interest in any of the game. We ran out of dip. That dip was good, man. Don't judge me. Hey, I'm not. It's homemade. It's homemade ranch. True. So, well... I don't know what else I can get out of him. I really don't. I don't know what else I can get out of him. Why the garage? Was the garage like a cool setup? Yeah. Because that New York guy wasn't there. Probably. That was a big thing. There was a few points where there were three different places to watch the game. There was the upstairs loft where most of the people were hanging out. There was the downstairs TV and then the garage where there was a TV.
And the guy from New York, which, great guy, great guy, let me say that. But he was watching it in that downstairs, like, living room area. And when I had to go from the garage to upstairs, I didn't even want to hear what he had to say. So I was almost sprinting up the stairs around the corners. What kind of fan was he? Loud and obnoxious? No, he was just saying stuff at the wrong times. Like what? Just, you know, yeah. Why can't he say? It's over now. It's over now. Rob, all you're doing is reporting on fact. I know, but it's like my stomach. It hurts that he said the things he said. Yeah, like at one point, closer to the end of the game, he was yelling how much money his son had probably just won. Yeah, that must have stopped. I hate that. Well, we will get more from Boston Rob about how he feels about the Patriots losing the Super Bowl in a little bit, months. I mean, his name is Boston Rob. That's, yeah. Right. It's almost like New England Rob, you know. Anyhoot. Guess who we've got on the celebrity inside line right now. Rosario Dawson, how are you? Good morning. And I want to make sure that, is it Rosario or Rosario? Rosario. Rosario. It's Rosario Dawson. Well, actually, technically speaking, it's Rosario. Rosario. It might be a little too early in the morning to be rolling our R's. Rosario.
I'm sure that you've heard this many times, but you are a very, very beautiful woman. Thank you. Thank you very much. Is it true that for your 27th birthday, how old are you? I'm 28 now. 28 now. But last year, you had Guns N' Roses perform? I did, actually. My friend hooked me up. It was really funny. I was coming into New York. My birthday had actually just passed. I hadn't celebrated in New York yet, so... He was kind of wanting to put a birthday party for me together there, since that's where I'm from. Go Giants. And... Oh! Oh, no, I hope... Sorry, sorry. Oh, it hurts. We got this guy on the show, Rosario, that's from Boston, and so he's having a tough day today. Yeah, I heard about Bob. Yeah, it's a tough day. But, no, so, you know, so he called up, and he was like, well, you know, Guns N' Roses... Well, not Guns N' Roses, but... You know, he's actually in town, and he's been performing with his new band, and, you know, maybe they'll be able to still be here. And I was like, oh, okay, whatever. And I missed their show because I was actually doing the poster for Clerks, too. And all of a sudden, he was like, well, maybe I can ask you to just come to your birthday party and sing, like, you know, acoustic. And I'm like, yeah, sure, because I know them so well. And he asked them, and he first said no because he'd never done an acoustic show ever. And then he came back and said absolutely and got his band. They rehearsed in their hotel for a couple of hours.
and then came and performed, and it was amazing. He performed a ton of songs. He did November Rain on piano. Oh, my. Whoa, wow. He dedicated Sweet Child of Mine to me, which was amazing, because that's my favorite song of his. You must have been... It was an amazing time. It was an awesome party. You must have, at one point, been thinking, this is a little surreal. Oh, it was way surreal. It started off surreal, Don. I mean, he had blonde cornrows, and he was singing like he's always sung. Like, it was amazing. But he was up there just rocking out. But it was right after he got into a big fight with Tommy Hilfiger, and he had to get thrown out. What happened with Tommy Hilfiger? What happened? Very surreal in general. What happened with Tommy Hilfiger? They got into a fight over someone putting someone's girlfriend's drink on a table. It was just really odd. I don't know what happened, but Tommy had to go because Axl was running the show that night. And so Tommy Hilfiger got kicked out? Yeah, by his own people, which was really crazy. Everything about it was surreal. I had no idea it was going to be as big as it was, but it ended up all over in the paper because of the fight.
And so I guess, you know, I never planned for it to be. It's kind of funny to still be talking about it. I'm trying to wonder what I'm going to do for my 29th now. We're talking to Rosario Dawson. And her movie Descent's coming out on DVD tomorrow, and we're going to get caught up on that in a second. One of the things, you know, whenever my producer offers me a guest to have on, one of the things that I always consider is who have they worked with? And I think that you're a great actor, and I think that you've worked with some pretty amazing people so far. And I wanted to ask you about some of your experiences working with them. One of my favorite films over the last year, or a couple of years, is Death Proof. And you were working with Quentin Tarantino. And I wanted to ask you about that experience. You know, what you most remember from that period of your life filming that film? Well, Clinton County is just one of my favorite people of all time. And when I first started acting when I was 15, you know, the movie Kids, when it finally came out, I was 16. And I remember sitting with my dad and just going, you know, I've decided I want to be an actor because I was discovered into acting. I said, I want to be an actor. I want to figure it out. So I should watch stuff, right? I wasn't even really into movies much. And he gave me a copy of Reservoir Dogs.
which I then watched about seven times that week. Wow. I just fell in love with it. And I told Quentin that when I had met him actually on Sin City because he was one of the co-directors on that. And then when I ended up coming in on Death Proof, you know, to kind of audition, he auditioned everybody, I didn't get the part right away. And I was really freaked out because I was like, this has nothing to even do with this project so much as that I'm just a huge fan of his and out of everyone that I've ever worked with or could potentially work with, Quentin's on the top of my list. And so I asked if I could come back in with Tracy Toms, actually. He also ended up being in the film and said, maybe I can come and re-audition again. He was like, absolutely. So he came in and we totally blew him away. We just really, we busted our butt. We watched all of his movies, went over all of his lines, paused it in between going, oh, wait, maybe that's how he wants us to do this. Like just, you know, if you want to study how to do a Quentin Tarantino film, you have to watch Quentin Tarantino films because there's no one who does it like he does. And just really just... just knocked out of the park and he was really excited about it. He's like, wow, I felt like I'm watching the movie, just your dedication, just, you know, you're coming in here, just meant so much to me, you know, because he's got a big enough ego for everybody. So, you know, you really do, you just don't bring it to the table and to be a part of the, you know, that scene in Death First where we have a seven minute uncut shot where it's the Reservoir Dogs homage shot, completely uninterrupted and we just go through the whole scene that we do around the table.
It's just honestly one of the best moments in acting history for me. How many takes? We ended up doing it, I think, eight times. And the best thing about it actually was because we had all prepared doing it, we had gotten cast in the film like in April. We didn't shoot that until October. So we had months and months and months to rehearse it. And so we always rehearsed that scene all the way through. And when he had meant to shoot it, he meant to do half the scene in a Reservoir Dog sort of round circle shot and then the rest of it in coverage. So the first day we shot it, We did half the scene in the circle shot and then he started coming in and he slept on it that night and woke up the next morning and was like, you know what? You guys have the scene down. Let's just do it all in one shot. And then we ended up doing it in half a day. We did like seven, eight different takes and then that was it. And it was amazing because as well, Zoe's never acted before. She's a stunt woman. I mean, we were all coming from such different, you know, directions and areas and we just worked together and it's completely choreographed. I mean, we had to do it. We rehearsed it a bunch of times and we just nailed it. And it's just... It's honestly just one of the most exciting moments that I've ever been a part of. We're talking to Rosario Dawson, whose movie The Descent comes out tomorrow on DVD. When Quentin Tarantino is directing you, when you're delivering lines, does he have you do it the way that you feel it should be delivered? Or does he say, I want you to say it like this?
Oh, well, you know, the funny thing with Quentin, you know, when we'd be in the car, we had this speaker in there where he could speak to us sort of like through a walkie. Because we're in the car for hours driving on these little roads, it was kind of impossible for him to give us, like, individual, you know, direction a lot of the time when he would just kind of come up with stuff with how the way the cars were and stuff. But he would just sort of scream out lines that he wanted us to say. And it was always funny because depending on which accent he did it in, you knew it was for you. So there's so much in the car. So if he did it in sort of like this bad Aussie, you know, sort of Kiwi accent, we knew it was for Zoe. If he did it in his black girl voice, which he's very fond of, he loves his black girl voice, we knew it was for Tracy. And then if he sort of did it in this like natural, like his natural voice, it was my character. Because in a lot of ways, my character was actually Quentin. You know, and the whole conversation that I have in that roundtable bit, talking about Zoe and I and me falling into a ditch. and how upset I am, actually happened to Zoe and Quentin when they were in China doing Kill Bill. That's fantastic. So a lot of the time, you know, so finding out about that stuff kind of made me realize, oh my goodness, I'm sort of playing the female Quentin Tarantino in this movie. Again, it was just so delicious to do and just so much fun. And he's a blast. He's really cool. There's no music. I mean, there's tons of music on set. He doesn't like anybody reading or answering their cell phones.
And so he does these things that just really collaborate with people. And it's one of, honestly, so again, we would always be looking at each other going, can't believe we're being paid to be here. Real quickly, two things before we have to go, because we do have to wrap up with you. And I want to know about Descent, which is out on DVD tomorrow. And I also want to know if you could tell us anything about Sin City 2, because you're doing Sin City 2. It's coming out pretty soon. Yeah, since 32 is in pre-production to a degree, but it's not really going to be happening for quite some time. I mean, Jessica Alp is pregnant right now, so that kind of puts a halt on things. But Descent is a film that I produced with a friend of mine that I've been friends with since I was 16 years old, her 15. We've made, over the past 12, 13 years, a series of different short films that I produced. And this is our first feature with our production company. It's called Descent, and it's about a young woman in college who gets date raped and doesn't tell anybody and kind of falls apart. And after a summer of violence and, you know, drug abuse and promiscuity, she goes back to college and she meets her attacker and decides to get her revenge on him.
It's a fairly heavy film, and I take a pretty startling look at how violence perpetuates itself. And I think in a very different way than Death Proof, where it's sort of celebratory at the end that we get the bad guy, this is the one that lasts a couple minutes long where you kind of realize there's a dead man in the middle of the road and it's 11 o'clock in the morning. Wow. So hopefully it brings audiences, you know, it kind of brings them into a conversation rather than just delivering a kind of fun revenge movie where they get to kind of walk out satisfied. I think it really kind of... shows how complicit we are in violence to some degree and makes you question, you know, what your feelings are about violence. So I'm really proud of it. We premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and it's opening on Super Tuesday, which is kind of crazy. There's going to be a lot of crazy stuff going on tomorrow night. And I also just kind of wanted to throw out there, because, you know, dissent is something I've produced, so I'm really, really proud of it. But I also am, and I created a voting organization called Voto Latino three years ago. And we just... our newest PSA that Wilma Valverama directed, and they're kind of like fellow novellas. They're four episodes, and they're all like very, you know, he's in love with me, the gardener's in love with him, our father's, you know, fell into a Vatican juice, he's in a, you know, diabetic coma, but he's not registered to vote, and that's the biggest drama. You can see him on YouTube, and you can see him on MySpace. We've registered almost 8,000 people since the episodes have been out. We just
We joined with Declare Yourself Norman Lear. So they're out there on YouTube and MySpace and VotoLatino.org. And I hope people watch them and check them out and definitely vote. This is a historic moment right now. And the bigger picture, like I really, I love my film. I really hope people get it tomorrow. But I also hope that people start really, you know, see this as a moment in history to be a part of the history book. Rosario Dawson. It was fantastic having you on. I appreciate you coming on. Thank you. Absolutely. Have fun, San Diego. I'll see you at Comic-Con. Yeah, always. We'll see you soon. Okay. Very cool. Cool interview. I love hearing behind-the-scenes stuff with people like Quentin Tarantino. Okay. Now, there's a couple of things that we didn't get to that we got to get to when we come back. Joran Vandersloot has been arrested again in the Netherlands, and they're bringing him back to Aruba in the Natalie Holloway case. The reason they are is... they feel they've got a little bit more evidence. And by evidence, I mean a friend of his had a bunch of cameras and microphones hidden in his car, and Vandersloot basically tells him how he killed Natalie Holloway and what he did to dispose of her body. We'll give you that text and what he said, because it's all in some other language, so we can't play it for you, but we will tell you what he said when we come back. My heart is counting next time.
You can't smell it on my breath. It doesn't make me stumble around or pass out. It doesn't mess up my ability to drive. I don't wake up with a headache the next morning, but it gives me a tremendous buzz. I'm talking about gambling. I can't bet like most people. When I gambled and lost, I kept gambling. I loved the action and I thought I could win it all back. Nobody could tell I had a problem. I wouldn't believe it. For a while it was easy to hide. In the end, I lost more than money. I lost myself. I lied. I lost my job. I hurt everyone who cared about me. If the funds become something that's hurting you or your family, get help. Call 1-800-GAMBLER. That's 1-800-GAMBLER. We've got the wet conditions because of the rain, so give yourself some extra time because things are slowing down. And, man, we've got some snow in the mountains and high winds in the desert, so... Be careful out there through Julian Sunrise Highway. Pine Valley lets the snow out there. And winds gusting up along I-8 from Alpine to Imperial County. So use extra caution if you're driving one of those high-profile type of vehicles. Heading south of the 5 right now, you've got some busy brake lights developing out of Encinitas and the Solana Beach. South 15 stays tough from the Auto Parkway exit down to Villarancho. And then some scattered stuff through Rancho Bernardo and Carmel Mountain Ranch. Hasn't been too bad out of the East County this morning. The westbound 8 is getting a little tight, though, through the Mesa now.
from Spring Street out towards the Lake Murray, and both the 5 and the 5 northbound have got the usual stuff developing up to National City to pass that South Bay freeway. It is 7-19. A San Ysidro High School soccer coach was jailed over the weekend after allegedly choking a player from an opposing team. Commissioner Roger Goodell will meet with Senator Arlen Specter about Spygate. I don't get that. Why is the government getting involved in a football thing? You know, it's really weird. I think they're trying to make it into like a steroid thing, you know, cheating and all that stuff. I don't agree with it. I don't know why he needs to be involved in this. There may be a commission involved, and they're thinking that Roger Goodell destroyed the tapes and is lying about it and covering up and blah, blah, blah. So it's just bizarre. That seems so strange. I think it was really crappy that all that came out right before the Super Bowl. It took a lot of the shine off the game itself. Okay, let's see. Do I have... Do I have the... Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't have any audio of VanderSloot. What we have is text. Okay, so I don't know how many years old this thing is now. I think that Natalie Holloway went missing May 31st, because I know it was my birthday. May 31st, so five. And they had arrested three kids. And I would say that the most high profile of the three was this kid, Joran VanderSloot. And he was arrested with these two other guys. They're from the Netherlands.
They were vacationing in Aruba, and they're the last known people to have been seen with Natalie Holloway. We talked to Natalie's mother, Beth Holloway, on this show. She was convinced that it was Yoran, but she said that, you know, they just didn't have the proof. They didn't have the stuff to put him away. They've arrested him before, and they've arrested him again, and nothing comes of it. And so what is the status now, Sky? Well, basically, the last thing we had heard prior to everything that happened over the weekend was that there wasn't enough evidence to prove anything or press any charges. But then this weekend, oh my gosh, a whole can of worms. What happened? So, I guess a guy was working undercover for a Dutch crime reporter. And basically, their plan was, let's put you in undercover. You befriend Vandersloot. Oh, so he didn't even know this guy? I mean, this guy's been working undercover, working Vandersloot for a while. It's from everything I've read. And they became friends, you know, bonding on playing poker, smoking weed, hanging out all the time. And they became really close. I'm confused. Okay.
The guy that you're saying did this with him. Uh-huh. Smoked the weed, all that stuff. Yeah. He's a crime reporter. Reporter. He's a reporter. Yes. Does Vandersloot know he's a reporter? No. It's like undercover. Undercover. Now, Vandersloot's a young guy. He's like in his young 20s. Yeah. So this guy, do we know if he is two and he just like meets him and pretends to be a regular... college kid like vandersloot is you know because what i'm wondering is how does one meet someone that's it would be like this to give you an analogy it would be like somebody befriending uh this guy peterson drew peterson right now drew peterson's under all the suspicion in the world for killing his wife stacy so if he met somebody right now you would think that he would be very suspicious of the person now Sky Sam makes a lot of sense if you're smoking weed with somebody, if you're doing illegal activity with somebody, maybe you feel a certain level of intimacy and of trust. But what my biggest wonder here is how did this guy do it without arousing initial suspicion of like, I don't know you, man. How did he meet him? How did he go about it? How did they get this done? You probably put him in like...
a social circle so it's like a friend of a friend of a friend got it and then they just keep integrating you know what i mean it's not like he just walks up and introduces himself well kind of that's kind of sounds actually what happened here uh the guy's 34 years old um they said uh for the last two months has spent like every minute together for the past like two months since they became friends they say He approached him at a casino and walked up without introduction and said, Hey, murderer, in the official language of Aruba. That's somebody I'd want to be friends with. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then, so, you know, they kind of, you know... Talked a little while. Vandersloot walked away. And then later he approached him again. They were smoking and just started talking about how he spent in his summer. Because I guess when he said the hate murderer thing, he was like kind of joking, you know. And he said then they went on to play poker and smoke weed. And that's where it all started. Okay. This undercover sting. I love weed. I do think that it's interesting that that's the way he begins it. Yeah.
Because what I think is really, from a psychological standpoint, what I think is interesting about it was that that was their plan. That they decided that, as law enforcement people, that that would be the plan. Walk up to them and say this. Well, as reporters, not law enforcement. Okay, as reporters. And I think that the reason that it's interesting that they came upon that decision was, when you think about it, it is, you're definitely... that's not what you would expect from somebody who's doing what the guy's doing. Yeah, right. You wouldn't expect that. No. Yeah. It's the last thing you would expect. Sure. What you would expect is, hey, how are you? How are you doing? It's nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. So there's almost a brilliance behind the way that they went about it. Yeah. Okay, so they get to know one another, and then what? They say for the next two months solid, they spent every day together smoking pot, driving around in this guy's Land Rover, and playing poker until late in the night. Okay. For every minute for the next two months. Okay.
And then they decided that he felt that he was close enough to try and start asking questions about Natalie Holloway. Right. So what they did is they took this guy's Land Rover that they've been cruising in for the last two months and they fitted it with a whole bunch of cameras and mics. But obviously, so, you know, they couldn't see, the Vander Sloot couldn't see him, you know, hidden cameras and hidden mics in the car. Right. And then he starts asking him about it. And VanderSloot opens up and had a lot to say. So what does he say? He says that the two of them, after a night of partying, him and Natalie, went to the beach and started making out. He said at one point she started convulsing and having seizures while they were making out. And her body was shaking. And then at one point it just went still. And he... says, quote, I tried to shake her. I was shaking that B. I almost wanted to cry. Why does this S have to happen to me? He says he believed at that point she was dead. He goes on to say he called a friend who has been a lifelong friend who has always been there to help him out of jams in the past. Is that the girl?
It doesn't say. Because remember we heard that there was a girl that was a friend of his that got a phone call from him that night around about the time that they would have put him on killing her and that it was a very weird phone conversation. Right. And that was a girl, not a girlfriend, but a friend that's a girl. Yeah, well, he says that he didn't use his cell phone. He went over to a pay phone. to make this phone call and called this friend who's always helped him out of a jam and his friend came over took natalie's body and went and disposed of it at sea wow yeah and then at one point on the tape they say van der sloot expressed no remorse over what happened saying quote i didn't even feel bad about it i didn't lose a night of sleep over it i thought i've got to go on end quote So tonight on ABC, 2020 is airing an hour and a half long special on this. They will have the tape. Now, all the conversations in the Land Rover are in Dutch, but obviously there will be subtitles, and they will also be interviewing the guy who went undercover to get all of this. You know, now that this is broke, Vandersloot was asked about it. He doesn't deny the conversation, but said he was lying to his friend in the car to tell the guy what he thought the guy wanted to hear. Yeah.
Of course. Huh. Obviously. Yeah. What is interesting to me about it is, you know, and neither Sky nor I know, like, so I wonder if that's, if it was the United States, I don't know that that'd be admissible because you're, you know, doing something without their knowledge. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But maybe in Aruba. Yeah. You know, they do whatever they want. They can use stuff like that, but. Wow. told him whatever he wanted to what i thought he wanted to hear right that's a confession like how is he not in jail well and the thing that they're saying is you know obviously vandersloot isn't a doctor he and his him and his friend eddie's a doctor yeah eddie i mean eddie would know no i'm not even though according to his own word on this tape he saw natalie having seizures and then her body going stiff still he doesn't know if she was dead or if she was just unconscious when they threw her off out in the sea. That's awful. What is interesting to me is seizures. Because it makes me want to know if she has a history of seizures or if she was having seizures due to alcohol or if she was having seizures due to a mixture of alcohol and an unknown substance that she didn't know that she'd taken. So the fact that he says that she was having seizures is
interesting to me. That could be why he freaked out. If he gave her any kind of drug and he knowingly knows he did that and something went wrong and she had the seizure, he could have freaked and tried to cover it up. Well, I hope for Beth Holloway's case that they are finally able to put an end to the case. It's definitely some closure. It's been really tough for Beth Holloway. This was Beth Holloway on our program. How sure are you that this kid, Vandersloot, is responsible for this? Well, we go back to the known facts, and regarding the three primary suspects, or the three suspects, we know that these are the men that Natalie was last seen with. We know the condition she was in as they were describing her in their statements, and those are disclosed in the book, and in the car.
And we know the sexual conduct they engaged in with her. And we know the 22 different stories that they've given interrogators to explain to what they did with Natalie that night. So we know whatever was transpiring was not good. And this was against Natalie's will. I mean, she was definitely not in the state of mind where she could make her conscious decisions. So we have a photo of her a couple hours before the suspects took her. This is of Natalie in complete control. They describe her in the car as no control. We strongly feel that she was from the establishment. You know, the other thing is, I seem to remember them saying they dropped her back off at the hotel. If I remember correctly, that was their story, that we dropped her back off at the hotel. And then there was a lot of talk about going through the tapes of the hotel, and they don't see anybody dropping her off. They see her leaving. They don't see her being dropped back off. And I always thought to myself, why would that not be evidence enough? Yeah. You know, I mean, if Eddie turns up missing and I'm the last guy to see him and I say I drop him off at a place where there's a bunch of cameras, that's easy. All you do is look at me dropping him off with the cameras. And if you don't see that, then you go, that's pretty glaring. You're clearly lying. You're clearly lying. So I never, ever was able to figure out how that.
was able to get by everybody, but it's Aruba. It's not the United States. And so, you know, you got to take that into consideration. When we come back, we got good stuff. First of all, we got to talk about Ashley bringing her boyfriend. You know, all I said was... Don't say boyfriend? I'm not comfortable with it yet. I thought it was a different word. The boyfriend part, you're not comfortable with. We haven't had the talk. I thought you said you did have the talk, that you're not dating anyone else. Eddie, will you explain this to your friends? Eddie, explain this to me. You have to have a conversation where it's clearly defined the label boyfriend-girlfriend. But I thought you did. No, they've had a conversation that they don't want to date anybody else. So they're committed to each other, but they're not... They're exclusively dating each other, but they're not labeled yet. Again, they're committed to each other. To a committed relationship. Yes. They are in a committed relationship. For the most part, yes. Can I ask you some questions, Eddie? Sure. Are you in a committed relationship with Debra? Yeah, we're married. Well, I just want a yes or no, please. Yes, we are. You are. Before you were married to said woman, were you in a committed relationship then? Yes. Would it be fair to say, Mr. Papani? You're so annoying. Ha ha ha!
That's the end of my questions. That doesn't say anything. Well, I think what it says is that Ashley just got married. Congratulations. You're the worst. Such a beautiful bride. So when we come back, we got to talk about that. The Super Bowl party. I would like to let everyone know what one of the things that Skye works out to is. Oh, yeah. Stop it. and gotten into the Super Bowl commercials and all that stuff, so we'll do it. From a retarded guy could never have this much fun. It's Mikey, 105.3. Sunwise Highway, Pine Valley. You might want to throw some chains in the back of your car if you're heading those directions. And a high wind advisory, in effect, as well. An I-8 from Alpine to the Imperial County. Coasting up pretty good out there, so use caution, especially driving a high-profile type of vehicle. On the westbound 8, coming into San Diego, you're starting to see some brake lights develop here now as you come into Cajon Valley out towards East Main Street. It's a little tight through the Mesa Jackson Drive out towards Lake Murray. West 94 hasn't been too bad this morning, just a minor delay into downtown. Both the 5 and 8 to 5 northbound coming up onto the South Bay. No surprises, just the usual stuff out of Chula Vista up to National City on both these freeways. 8.05, a minor delay through North Park, and now a little bit slow towards the 52 coming out of Kearney Mesa. The Mikey Show's on. Oh, we are messed up in the head. Rock 105.3. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. It's 741. Well, people love that Miley Cyrus. The Hannah Montana movie was number one this weekend, making $29 million. It happened. The Giants pulled off one of the biggest upsets in sports history, beating the Patriots 17-14. Rebecca and I went to a new church on Saturday night.
It was such a trip, man. It was so cool. For people that live in North County, some friends of ours took us to this church called North Coast. And it's in Vista. And they do this really trippy, cool thing. They have these things called venues. So they have like five different places that you can go into. And then we went into like the main place, which is called Live. And that's where the pastor stands in front of you and he preaches, right? But what they do is they video it and they beam that live video feed into these other what they call venues on the property. And so depending like what you're into, you go to that venue. Like they have this venue called Edge, the Edge. And you go in there and like all of the music before the service starts is geared towards what you're into. So they have like a country one. So you go in there and like all the worship songs are country music about God. And then you go into the to the edge and it's like a bunch of like real rock, like alternative and rock stuff and like third day and stuff like that. And it's very like metal.
It's pretty cool. It's like really awesome. And then it's so depending on where you go. And then if you have kids like from kindergarten to like sixth grade, they have like a separate class for every grade. Like one of the rooms I looked in there and there was like Star Wars stuff all over the place. And like I just thought it's really kind of a neat concept to be able to experience a different music and all that stuff. And it was really, really cool. It's like Lollapalooza. It was, dude. It was like Churchapalooza. But I thought it was really, really cool. Okay, so I want to talk about the Super Bowl and the commercials and Eddie and Ashley. And before we get into the commercials, the first commercial that I noticed last night wasn't one of the funny ones. It was the Mitt Romney commercial. Hillary Clinton wants to run the largest enterprise in the world. She hasn't run a corner store. She hasn't run a state. She hasn't run a city. Immediately, I'm out. The commercial's been going now for five seconds. I'm out. Wow. And me and Eddie look at each other like, is he kidding? Wow. I mean, the whole rap on him with us is that...
Mitt, all he does is bash people. Right. And the first 10 seconds of his commercial, it's like... Bash, bash, bash, bash. And to me, it was kind of like, so why Hillary? Right. Like, she hasn't won the nomination. Right. By far. She hasn't, you know, not even close. Right. And neither have you, Mitt. Right. Like, you have other fish to fry. Like, it's just weird, you know? Yeah. In fact, the latest poll that... I think the latest poll that's out... Tomorrow's Super Tuesday for all of us. And the latest poll, I think, has Obama doing real good. What does your poll say, Skye? Well, for California, for Super Tuesday, Clinton with 44%, Obama with 40%. And then they say who's, you know, nationally for the Democrats, Clinton 47%, Obama 40%. It says here at the top of the stories on CNN.com, Obama erases Clinton lead. Now, I don't know if this is something brand, brand new that's just coming in, but it says CNN Research Corporation National Poll, Obama 49, Clinton 46. I think the point is, Eddie's right. What are you doing, bro? Yeah.
Weird. I don't necessarily disagree with what he's saying, but just weird. Weird timing of it all. Well, and my whole thing is, just tell me what you're going to do, will you? True. You know, I saw a Huckabee ad, and he takes the 30 seconds to say, I want to abolish the IRS, and I want to get rid of it, and I want you to get all of the dough in your paycheck and not have the federal government take any of it out. I want a closing out of business sale on the IRS. And when you get your paycheck, there will be no federal income tax taken out of it. You'll get the entire amount. And it's a very easy to understand. Mitt Romney's deal. Hillary's terrible. And I hate Hillary. She has never run anything. And the idea that she could learn to be president as an intern. And it sounds so the way it's delivered is so kind of it just sounds. like you're in a like he's gossiping in your ear is the is the overall feeling that i get from the commercial let's start again sorry one more time from the top out of the record she hasn't run a state she hasn't run a city she has never run anything and the idea that she could learn to be president as an internship just didn't make any sense i have spent my life running things
I've learned how to run a business. I've learned how to run a state. I ran the Olympics. In each case, I've brought change. And if there's ever been a time we need to change in Washington to bring strength to America, it's now. I'm Mitt Romney, and I approve this message. I'm Mitt Romney, and I was super mad when I recorded that message. Wow. That was yesterday during the Super Bowl, along with all the other... casino ads vote no or yes on 95 96 97 um so anyway about 3 40 the doorbell rang and i had just been saying to eddie where's ash where's ash because i really want to meet the new um good close personal friend Significant other. Significant other. That's what I call my wife. You did get married. Congratulations. Ashley's got a significant other. That's even more than a boyfriend. That's your significant other. Wow. Life partner. How about better half? So Ashley got there at about 340. I think it was later than that because it was past the first quarter.
So Eddie, what was your issue? Eddie says that he wanted to... Well, I was a little shocked because her dude arrived and he immediately sat down and watched the game. So I immediately went, oh, this guy's a football fan. He's stoked to be watching the game. He was asking me and Mike questions like what's happened and blah, blah, blah. And I was like, oh, that sucks that they were late. I wonder what happened. And then right after... And halftime, you know, like it was like maybe a couple minutes in the third quarter, Ashley gets up and says, okay, we're leaving. And I went, huh? And I felt so bad for this guy because he's not being able to watch the Super Bowl. And so I was thinking to myself, is this Ashley? Like, is this her thing? Where'd you guys go? We went back to my house. You did? Yeah. Well, I didn't want you to go. I was enjoying it. I was having fun messing around with you and your friend. My beau. Yeah. But Eddie, you felt the same way, but a little different. I felt terrible for the guy. I was like, if that was me, and I was just starting to date a girl, and the Super Bowl, we had to, first of all, we were late, and I know it was her fault. Yeah, it was. What happened? I don't even know what it was, but I know it was her fault.
Basically, like, my puppy, she just needed a lot of attention. Oh, no. No, no, no. Ash, come on. Superboy. Skye, Skye, come on. Let's cheer her out. But can't you just take what she's already just said? She needed. She needed. And then, like, I knew that. Do you think she would have passed away? No, no, no. Honestly, do you think she would have passed away if you would have left? No. Mike, I don't. Well, what do you think? What happened? They call it puppy love. Worst case scenario. She would have tore up my house or she would have barked when I put her back in her crate. She would have barked? Get out of here, dog. Come on, dude. Don't go. Don't be drastic. I'm not going to have my neighbor being disturbed and my dog unsettled because of other things that aren't as important. It's not as important as my puppy. But maybe it was important to him. Well, it wasn't. He told me he didn't even really care about the game. Dog's barking. He said he didn't even really care about the game. He did when he showed up. I didn't know that. My bad. And then they left and I was like, oh, that poor guy. Like, if that was me, I would have been like, ugh, get me out of here. And why did you have to leave? Because the puppy is only allowed to be in the crate for four hours unless she's asleep, which then I'm there.
So I had to put it in a four-hour increment and then get home in time so I could feed her, take her out, take her for a walk, and then put her back to bed. That bothers me. I was enjoying you. I was enjoying your company. I have a dog. I'm sorry. I have a responsibility. She's not all the way training. I've only had her for three weeks. Do you think that if you had waited one more hour, she might have passed away? That's a legitimate question. Do you think she might have... Sky. Right now is a very important time for her. I'm training her. It's an important time in your dating relationship too. I think it's great that Ashley is taking this kind of responsibility with her dog. What about the responsibility to the guy she's dating? Maybe she should say to the guy, hey, this is the deal. We can't be gone for more than so many hours because of the puppy. If you want to roll, cool. If not, I understand. He would roll. And I would bet my life on he would still want to spend the time. When you like a girl, you're all into her. You don't really have a choice. What's your option? I wouldn't have gone. In a million years, I wouldn't have. I'll see you tomorrow. Really, Eddie? If she would have said, you can't watch the Super Bowl because of my puppy. Well, it's not you can't watch the Super Bowl, but we do have to leave. But I'm going to get to watch, what, a quarter of it?
I'm sorry. I've been like, you know what? Hey, I totally understand. But I'm going to go somewhere where I'm going to watch the game. Like, it's the Super Bowl. Yeah. It's the Super Bowl. Hey, you're telling the wrong guy. You didn't do anything wrong. Oh, you did everything wrong. I didn't mean to. You don't feel bad. She should. No, she shouldn't. She's being a responsible pet owner. But a bad dater. No. He seemed like he was all into her. Oh, yeah. Me and Eddie were laughing at one point because he was standing at the counter. What? Well, Ashley's a very affectionate person. And she went up behind him and was all hugging on him. And I looked over at Mike and I gave him the, hey, check that out. That was hysterical. He was a nice guy. And then I was teaching Ashley girlfriend stuff. I'm like, hey, ask him if he wants something to drink. Ask him if...
You know, if he wants to warm that food up. Yeah, I don't, like, he's actually, like, a great guy. And I don't think I've ever dated a great guy. Oh, Ashley, you don't have to talk directly to every ex-boyfriend you've ever had. That's what you're doing. I mean, it's such a shot at every guy that's listening right now. I mean, she might as well say, I just want to say to Bill and John. You're all turds. You guys are turds. I mean, come on. I'm a lady. Ay-yi-yi with that. Oh, please. So, Sky gave Ashley and I a tour. Oh, yeah. Your place is amazing, Sky. Thank you. I was glad you guys could come over. And we went into the exercise gym. It's not a gym. It's just a room where the cats are. I prefer gymnasia. Yes. Whatever. I keep my workout videos in there. You know, it looks like your basic, you know, ballerina studio with the mirrors all on the wall. There's not a single mirror. And the wooden bar to hold on to while you pirouette. That would be awesome, though. It's a great idea. But Skye has, in the corner, she's got this little, looks like a little dresser, like a little corner dresser, and on top of the dresser is a television.
With a little DVD player in it. And she explains, it's a DVD-VCR combo because most of her workouts are on VHS. Oh, my God. Because who has workout videos before? I know it. Hey, if you stumble upon a good one in 1992, what, you're going to throw it away? Let's see. What have I got here? Let's see. I've got to rewind this one and watch it. Oh, cool. The Color Me Bad workout. Excellent. I got some MTV The Grind. Here's my favorite, the Jane Fonda workout. Let me tell you something. The Jane Fonda workout. Or the, what did you say, Eddie? Color Me Bad Workout. Color Me Bad Workout. That would have been, you know, like keeping in character with Sky. But when we come back, I'm going to tell you what DVD she actually did have in there that she works out to. And we'll tell you what that is next.
So you're the guy who pooped in my tuba. Look, we know that boy's gonna ask again, so let's be ready. Fine, I'll be him. You ready? Ready. Mom, could you hook me up with a GoPhone? condition than I am. Did she cry? No. Held it back. Did you cry? No. Held it back. Seth cried. He didn't even have a vested interest in me. He ran out of dip. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show at 8.05. Lots of stars attended a second memorial service for Heath Ledger held in L.A. over the weekend. The 08 NFL Hall of Fame class has been named. It's Dale Green, Fred Dean, former Charger, Art Monk, Andre Tippett, Emmett Thomas, and Gary Zimmerman named. My son is running for the President of the United States of America. I heard that. Hope he wins. He's working pretty hard. He has a MySpace page and And I'll go ahead and give it out. Oh, please. It is myspace.com slash Jake America back. That's a slogan. That's what he wanted. To go there, read about what his plans are. A little embarrassing for me because Jake is a registered Democrat. I like it. He knows that that's something that bothers me. He looks fierce in that picture. Yeah. Are you
wants you america it is 806 all right we got a lot to talk about so before we went to break i told you that sky has a workout video that she will work out to from time to time and as she was taking us through the house yesterday you know she was showing us the workout room there and the little tv with the vcr slash dvd player And Ashley and I were kind of nosy, so we were kind of looking through the DVDs and everything. And that's when we stumbled across Carmen Electra's stripper workout. Striptease. Striptease. Wow. The striptease workout. That's a good one. What? That's right. Builds the leg muscles. I'll say. Wow. And the calf muscles, I would think, too. What were those high heels and everything? Oh, my God. It's optional to do it with the high heels. Oh, I thought you were going to say. Clothing optional is what I thought you were going to say. I like to turn the heater up to 98 and put that sucker in there. And then watch the video. So it's...
Quite a workout. Skye, how's that sucker go? How does that thing... What do you mean? Well, how does it play out? What's the warm-up? Well, you know, it starts out with her telling you that this is a great workout, but it can also help you learn some moves for the bedroom that the hubby may enjoy. Two birds with one stone. And some significant others actually enjoy watching their partner do the workout as a little warm up. You're a dirty girl, Sky. I'm into this. oh my goodness and then it uh just you know it hurts but it feels so good then you start the workout workout and she teaches you moves to get the heartbeat pump in now have you seen have you watched the whole thing or have you gotten embarrassed the first five minutes and turned it off how does this how does this work i know you'll like them i love them
actually only done that tape a couple times. It's kind of one of my least favorite tapes, for being honest, because I do feel a little self-conscious doing it, and the only times I've done the tape is when my husband was nowhere in sight, because I didn't want him walking in on that. Does he have the guy's version called Throwing Ones at the Stage? Really works out the album. It's all on. The DVD extras. It's a pretty decent workout, but not one of my faves. Yesterday during the Super Bowl, I turned to Eddie and I said, how much you want to make a bet? Sean's watching Banachek right now. No. I laughed hysterically because there's no way. Well, yeah, because it was a funny joke. Yeah, that's a good one. It was a funny joke. So, Sean, what did you do yesterday? I just hung out at home. No, that's not all you did. Sean. That is not all you did. Oh, you. Well, I watch TV. Yeah. The Super Bowl. Super Bowl. Oh, yeah. What time did you start watching coverage? Oh. What did you think of Paula Abdul's performance? Oh, yeah. Sean, did you love it? I must have went to the bathroom at that time. I see. We shocked that Bill Belichick didn't challenge that fumble. Look, I didn't watch it, all right? What the hell? Sean didn't watch the Super Bowl? Sean didn't watch the Super Bowl. No, I did not. What did you watch? What? I watched my DVDs. Why does this matter with you?
Which ones did you watch? I watched Perry Mason. What? I watched McCloud. What's that? I don't know. You never heard of McCloud? No. That's my friend from high school. No. No Gavin McCloud. No, he's an investigator, police officer. Sean likes investigative shows. Dramas about investigators. They investigate stuff. And I also watched Banachek. Banachek. I knew it. You called it. Well, it's new season two is out, dude. But the Super Bowl was on, Sean. I forgot. Eddie, I didn't mean to. No, you didn't. You forgot. You can't forget. It's all over American television. It's the biggest day of the year. Yeah. But his face is infected. That's true. I didn't think of that. Oh, all right. Okay. Maybe his judgment was off. Oh, yeah.
But I didn't mean it, Eddie. I meant it as a joke. I laughed hysterically. I didn't think you would watch Banachek. I did watch Banachek. The Super Bowl was on. The Super Bowl? A good Super Bowl. It was a good Super Bowl. Yeah, I heard some people on ESPN say I'm one of the best. I don't like football. I know, but it's the Super Bowl. It's beyond. I mean, it's a pop culture event. It is. It goes beyond football. It's America. Are you not American? I am American. You're Banachek. I just don't like the Super Bowl. Well, then we ban it, check you from ever watching it again. Can I tell you how it's Skye's fault that the Patriots lost? Please do. You're going to make Rob upset. One person doesn't have influence over a whole game. I was hurt and infuriated for Rob. So when the Patriots went down and scored the touchdown to Randy Moss to go ahead,
in the background, she was sitting behind me, says, Go Giants! Oh, no. And I turned to her and I went, Why are you saying that? Because she hasn't said a word in the entire game. That's crazy! I turned to her and I go, Why are you saying that? I go, You're not tutoring for the Patriots? She goes, No. I go, But Rob is our friend. You don't want him to win? And she goes, no, I'm cheering for the Giants. And then they promptly went down and scored the winning touchdown. Right after I said that. Well, because they share a name with my favorite baseball team. Oh, that is gross. Plus they're the underdogs. And, you know, you kind of want to see the underdogs do good. I mean, you know, they can use a little self-esteem boost. I root against you. Well, no, it was nothing against you, Rob. I feel so bad for Rob. personal jab at me. It was not. It was not a jab at you. That's why I didn't go to your house. Because of that. What? As Eddie said yesterday, Tom Petty performed the halftime show because Billy Squire was unavailable. Tom Petty was awesome. No, he wasn't. Listen, I thought it was probably one of the most dead-on lip syncs I've ever seen in my life.
Stop it. Hey, listen, I like Tom Petty. I really do. But that was the most boring halftime show in the history of the Super Bowl. Cut 31. Why are you standing in one place? There's nothing more exciting than watching a band where the lead singer stands stationary the entire performance. He's singing his crown. The vocals. Sing the song, Eddie. He sounded great. Yeah. It was so weird. Ray Charles was drumming. Jimmy Page was playing guitar. The lead singer of Counting Crows was on bass. I think Harlan Williams was in the band, too, at some point. Well, they did a close-up of Tom Petty at one point, and I go, oh, my goodness, Ellen DeGeneres grew a beard? He does sound good. Absolutely. I got to give him that. Like, he really sounds good.
But is that what we want out of our Super Bowl halftime shows? No, it isn't. Sky, don't be like this. It isn't. Just because you watched a four-hour documentary on Tom Petty. And told us about that documentary the entire time. Did you guys know that wasn't the original drummer? Stop it. Stop it. You didn't know that, did you? Mike, I agree with you. Where's the surprises? Where's the multiple acts? What happened to the halftime show? Remember, it used to be Aerosmith and Gwen Stefani. And you got a few good bands. And then we banished Alicia Keys to the pregame show. What was up with that? She's the relevant artist here. That's crazy. She was great in the pregame. No offense to Jordan Sparks. I didn't think she was a big enough star to sing the national anthem. Nothing against her performance. I thought she sang the national anthem beautifully. I just thought, man, shouldn't it be? Remember when Whitney Houston was the biggest thing in the world? Oh, yeah. And she sang. I mean, if it's a global stage, it's not the United States. It's the world is watching that Super Bowl. Yeah, you're right. I just think it's on Fox, American Idol. Glendale, Arizona, her hometown. Her dad played for the Giants. It all made sense on paper, but you're right. She's not a big enough star. I say there are plenty of events where they do the Star Spangled Banner and the National Anthem. And I don't know why at the Super Bowl we don't get real American and do both.
And have Jordan Sparks do the Star Spangled Banner. And then have some... I don't know who. I don't know. Who's the biggest star female recording artist right now in our time? Like Madonna? I don't... I mean... That was one of my first thoughts. Yeah, maybe. I don't know. I mean, but somebody that... She can't really sing. Yeah, she can't sing. No. Would it be like Celine Dion? She's not American. Yeah, she's not American. Oh, yeah. Like, who is the biggest person out there right now? Who's the most relevant? You could have got, like, a Faith Hill. Yeah. Maybe. No. Gwen's huge. I don't know that I would buy Gwen doing the... Mini Pearl. Oh, wait. Chair. Oh, that'd be good. A little synth in there. Yeah, but... Oh, well, anyway. So here's Jordan Sparks singing the National Anthem. Cut 29. To honor America. Oh, yeah. Oh, boy. Hello, Arizona. Daughter of former NFL player, Felipe Sparks. Please welcome the winner of last year's American Idol, Jordan Sparks. If the American Idol judges came out and were like, a little pitchy. Listen, her voice is perfect. Her voice is perfect. I just thought, you gotta have the biggest star in the world do this. Who's the right star?
What about that chick Sarah Long from American Idol? She would have been good. She was good. We've got to work it out to where the Padres let Ashley do the... It'll be like Roseanne Ball and Humber again. It'll be better. I would be so honored. That'd be great. I thought there was a minor imperfection in there. No, you think? That sounds pretty sterling to me. That's hard to do live. What do you think, man? First of all, I've got to say, your guys' phone lines are really whack. Why, why, why? Why? I can barely hear you, man. Anyways, but back to the point. Carrie Underwood could have done it, but she did a great job. The American Idol winner, she did a tremendous job. Jordan Sparks. Yeah. I think Carrie Underwood would have been the biggest hit for the biggest girl pop star or whatever country star. Makes sense. Yeah, I guess so. I mean, she's a pretty big star. She's an American Idol winner, too.
Yeah, definitely. See, it would have worked out. You know, Fox, American Idol, everything. Yep. Thank you very much. What about Huey Lewis? I think he would have done a fantastic job. With the news in the background. Eddie, how many Giants and 49er game have you? Every 49er game. Him or Greg Kent. Him or Greg Kent. Awesome. They go back and forth. Mikey Show. Hey, good morning, guys. Did you notice during Tom Petty's performance that, like, karaoke screen action they had on the stage. They were displaying the words to stand my ground won't be pushed around. I didn't notice that. It was crazy. It was like what is this karaoke? Did he forget the words? My wife wanted to know if all the people came out of the stands or you know what the deal. I couldn't figure that out. Like all those people that were standing there on the field. Did they come out? Were they allowed? There's got to be certain, maybe a section was chosen. Yeah. Well, I know, like, in previous years, I've read, like, one year, a couple years back, where those people aren't at the game. That's what I thought. Like, they're only allowed. They're only there for halftime. That's all they do. They have won something. They open the gate, you run in, and then you run out. Weird. Yeah. And when Jordan Sparks was introduced, did they introduce her as going to sing America the Beautiful?
No, no. Maybe they did. Maybe that's the actual name of the national anthem is America the Beautiful and we call it the national anthem. Maybe America the Beautiful is our national anthem because I think that we call... Well, the Star Spangled Banner is the national anthem. It's not the same thing? Because I know that they call O Canada the Canadian national anthem. Yeah, I know what you're saying. But you're saying, Eddie. It's the Star Spangled Banner. Star Spangled Banner. I don't know, dude. I'm not from here. Wait. I'm from Mexico. Yeah, I'm from Mexico. Okay, real quick. Real quick, we do a time out. But when we come back, we got plenty of stuff for you. We haven't really gone into all the commercials and all that stuff. We got some other stuff that I do want to tell you about. First of all, our blogs are up right now at MikeyShow.com. You can go to MikeyShow.com and click in the keyword section. Just type in the word blogs and you can see it. And our phone lines are open for you at 570-1053. But one thing I want to play for you when we get back is... Remember how David Letterman made Paris Elton cry last time she was on? Yeah, that's great. Well...

Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, the ride is starting to improve here as it winds down here. Still got the wind through the deserts and the snow in the mountains, man. So be careful if you're heading out those directions. Right now you've got South Ponce out of the 15. Cruising out of Escondido, but still a bit bunched up from Carmel Mountain Road down to Mercy Road and Poway.
Northbound 15, also slowing mainly those right-hand lanes as you come up towards the 78, trying to make that westbound 78 transition. Heading down the coaster ride on Southbound 5, that's staying tough out of Lucadia up all the way to Solana Beach. The westbound 56 is seeing a slow ride as well this morning. That's still stacking up from Community to Sur, pretty much to Carmel Valley, all the way to the 5 Freeway. Big improvement, though, out of East County. The 52 out of Santee looking great. West 8, you're good to go all the way to Mission Valley. The 94 King Freeway looking great here out of Lemon Grove all the way to downtown. Good-looking speeds as well on both the 5 and the 5 Northbound. Coming up out of the South Bay, you're good to go all the way into the city on both these freeways. 805 does jam up a little bit over that 52, though, out of Kearney Mesa. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. This is a Mikey moment. Jessica. Yeah? You knew that this guy cheated before you set her up with a friend? Dan, yeah, you were whining, you were single so much, and, like, he's really hot, and I thought you would get along. I'm like, it's not my fault. Maybe you weren't handy. You're handling things right. You know what I mean? Maybe she was asking for it. Jessica. Is that what you're saying? Bad moves. I seriously cannot believe you're doing this. You set me up with an awful guy and then you go on the radio about it. Are you okay? No, no. Come into the studio. Within 50 feet of her, she is done. Wait. I know what you are. I want you in that. Is that how the song goes? Yep. Exactly. It's reading from a lyric sheet. Welcome back. It's 832.
300 Charger fans found out that their season tickets have been canceled after they were classified as disruptive fans. The Saints' Charles Grant was stabbed in the neck in an altercation at a bar. Oh, my. Holy moly. A little bit later, we're going to be, if you haven't heard it already, give you some of the texts from this kid, Vandersloot, that's admitted now. Well, he hasn't admitted it, like, openly. They caught him on tape admitting that he killed Natalie Holloway and how he disposed of the body. And we talked about it earlier, but we'll hit on it. it again a little bit later on. Don't forget about M-Tube. It's still going on right now. And if you want to win a brand new high definition camcorder, just go to MikeyShow.com and it will tell you how you can get in on it. Basically, you're going to be making a video of the Mikey Show and sending it to, or getting it on YouTube and then sending it to us. We're going to pick the top five and let people vote on their favorite one. Winner gets a camcorder. Sky, so I'm going to get to this
Audio here in just a second of Paris Hilton on David Letterman. But, Sky, you were just saying that 300 season ticket holders have lost their season tickets because the Chargers are finally listening to the fans saying, we don't want these people here anymore. And they're doing something about it, and they're kicking them out. Yeah, so about 300 season ticket holders have been told, no thank you, you will not be welcome back as ticket holders here. They say that most of the fans have been ejected from Qualcomm by police or security over the past couple seasons, and they say that violates a team's code of conduct policy. So those people will no longer be allowed to purchase tickets from the team. I'm sure they could always get tickets through scalpers or whatever, but not season tickets through the team. things that they say violates that code is excessive consumption of alcohol, obscene offensive language or actions, fighting, being profane, being inconsiderate, being indecent, wearing obscene or indecent clothing, smoking except in designated areas, scalping your tickets, and quite a few other things. Now listen, if anybody's listening right now that's a part of the 300 people,
that have lost their season tickets due to these things, and you are looking for a Charger representative to get angry at, I'm behind you, and I'm going to tell you how to do it. Put on your Charger jersey, look in the mirror, and yell at that guy. Let that Charger representative have it. Seriously. Just yell and scream at that guy and tell him how angry you are. Yeah, because that guy in the mirror. Punch him in the face. Yeah. That guy in the mirror, he ruined it for you. He ruined it for you. Yeah, that sucks. And it's, you know, I mean, it's not your fault. It's his fault. Yeah. He messed it up for you. You fool! Wait a minute, dude. Go ahead. You weren't there, dude. You don't know what happened, man. Hang on, Rowdy Charger guy. Hang on a second, Rowdy Charger guy. Not my fault. Now, wait a minute, Rowdy Charger guy. Yes.
You know that you have been warned 157 times. Yeah. But the game that I got arrested at. Which was every Raider game you've ever been to. I didn't start the fight, dude. They started it. And then I ended it. I understand, Rowdy Charger guy. But at the same time, you have to understand. That there are rules and regulations. I don't know. I don't understand why I get kicked out of my own stadium. All right. I only had like 10 beers, dude. I wasn't even drunk. Well, you understand that 10 beers is too many. I was fine, dude. And then the radio guy got in my face, and I'm like, get out of my face, man. We're kicking your ass. Yes, man, you're going down. And then he was all, yeah, whatever. And then we got into it, dude, and I ended it, man. But that's not my fault. That's not my fault. Whose fault is it? It's his fault, dude. He got in my face. But he got in your face. According to these records, he got in your face.
Twelve times? Listen, man. Go ahead, Rowdy Charger guy. He was the drunk one, man. You were not drunk. Not at all. Ten beers. Just ten. Maybe eleven. I don't remember. I'm drunk. It was like so long ago, and I lose my tickets because of that. Wait a minute, Rowdy Charger guy. In this sheet of paper here, it says that one time you urinated in the stands. You got to go. I don't want to miss a game. Well, Rowdy Charger fan. I accidentally kicked a 12-year-old in the head. Wait, Rowdy Charger fan. That was an accident. Rowdy Charger fan. An accident. No, you got to go, bro. It's not my fault. That's Rowdy Charger fan, guys. And he can't go to the game anymore. Season ticket is taken away. All right, so you want to hear David Letterman talking to Paris Hilton about their last interview together where she cried, by the way. He was talking to her about what it was like in jail, and it made her upset. Cut 48. Thank you for coming on the show because I found out afterwards that I had offended you, and I felt horrible about it because I'm not here to make enemies, honestly.
I called you, and you took the call, which I thought was very nice of you. And now you're back, and thank God, and I'm terribly sorry. And how did you feel? What did I do? You didn't want to talk about it, but I kept pressing you on it, didn't I? Wait, pause. Wait a minute, Dave. Hang on, Dave. Dave. I mean, Dave. But you know what's... Dave! Unpause. I hope you got the whole jail thing out of your system. I do. Sort of. This is a new year. 2008, so not entirely. Wow. He still wants a little more. Well, you know, when a dog gets to taste the chicken blood in his mouth, it's hard to keep him out of the coop. It tastes so good, he just wants to go back. That was the best Dave moment in years. In years, dude. I mean... It really was. When he went after it, we hadn't heard that. I mean, the classic line of all time when she said, I don't want to talk about this anymore. And he goes, well, that's the difference between you and me is because this is the only thing I want to talk about. I'm like, dude, you're awesome, Dave. That's so great.
Puxatawney Phil is a rodent or something. I don't know what he is. He's a beaver. He's Sean. He's Sean. He's a groundhog. Puxatawney Sean. That's right. We should dress Sean as a groundhog. And see if he sees his shadow. That's a great idea. Six more weeks of perversion. The biggest horse's ass I know. Well, what happened was is that that beaver came out of his little lodge and he saw a shadow and so they're saying six more weeks of winter. No early spring. Really? Well, that's what happens. If he sees his shadow, then it means we're going to have an early spring. But he didn't see his shadow, so that means six more weeks of winter. Opposite. Wait, what? What? Wait a minute. He saw his shadow. He saw his shadow. So we get more winter. When he doesn't see his shadow. Then it's more summer. Then spring is coming. It's definitely more summer. Spring. And it starts to snow. No. Spring. You're messed up. French or surfboard. You're confused. Then you put a purple shroud over your head and a pair of Nikes. Ah!
You wait for Hale Bob to take you away. Isn't that what it is? When does Bill Murray show up? I thought Puxatani Phil comes out and if he sees his shadow, you get AIDS, right? For six weeks. And then you get rid of it. And if he doesn't see his shadow, then you get herpes or something. I don't remember exactly how. Close? What was it? Comedia. Comedia. It's gone. Wow. Okay, well, I hope he doesn't see a shadow. Right. That would be bad for all of us. What else is happening? Oh, Hillary was at SDSU on Friday. Oh. Hillary. Yeah. Hillary. And she was talking to all of the people that came to see her. Yay. And here is what Hillbilly had to say. Let's see. I had it. Here we go. No, I don't.
I got it. Am I missing it from my new sheets, Shawnee, oh boy? I hope not. I just want to know because I'm going to come back to it. Go ahead, whenever you have it. Okay. Have a law which says the Congress cannot increase its own pay unless it increases the minimum wage at the same time. Hey, don't do that. Wow. Shawnee, was that 127? That's correct. She's got to be careful of that. I mean, as a Republican, I hope she doesn't, but if I were an advisor, I would say, Hillary, you have to stop sounding like people's moms when we don't like our moms. That's brutal. Hillary, you know that moment that we all feel bad when our moms upset at us? Listen to this clip, Hillary, 127. Have a law which says the Congress cannot...
Increase its own pay unless it increases the minimum wage at the same time. Oh, mom. Don't even do it. The shouting. You don't understand. You're not even my real mom. 128. Whereas I was a little bit on the fence with Obama, and I have to say I'm going to vote for Hillary Clinton. I think she's rad. Yeah. Yeah. Girl power. I was all, you know, and then she was all, and my friends and me were all, and I was like, wow. And she was all, what about physics? And I was all, nah, I don't want to take Mr. Keebling again. And she was all, oh, really? Oh, my God, I totally loved him. And I was all, what? And she was all, huh? And I was all, whoa. And she was all, what? Such as. And he was all. It's true.
commercials sucked on the Super Bowl. Yeah, I agree. I thought they blew, man. What happened? I don't know. It was the most underwhelming year of commercials ever. I agree. And then they had this public service announcement about drugs, and I was like, oh, boy. That's not that funny, that one. The only one that I really liked, they played after I think you left, so I don't know if you saw it, Will Ferrell. Did a Bud Light commercial. Yeah, that was funny. That was hysterical. Really? Yeah. That was good. I think we have it here. I think it's cut 24. There you go, 24. Let's hear it. Hi, I'm Jackie Moon. I drink one beer and one beer only. Bud Light, a magical blend of barley, hops, and delicious alcohol. Got it. Start the line. Makes a perfect Valentine's gift for the ladies. Hot. A lot of sweat goes into every bottle. Not literally. That would be gross. You know what I mean. Refreshes the palate. And the loins. Keep that light. Suck one. That's crazy. Yeah, of course he's in his little basketball outfit doing the like one leg on the bench, wide stick. See a little too much. Yeah. That's funny. That made me laugh. Dude.
Ashley and I were getting a tour of Sky's house when the Timberlake commercial came on, so we didn't see it. What was it? Just him dancing or something? No, actually, he was being dragged throughout the city. You see a girl sucking on her straw through a Pepsi thing, and so he's being dragged. you know, against his will through like the streets. Right. And then eventually, you know, lands in her backyard and they're, you know, saying something like, you know, you can win a Justin Timberlake concert or something like that. I don't know. Huh. I saw a movie commercial that I thought looked really cool called Wanted with Angelina Jolie and it looked rad. Oh, is that the one? That they were going to make, like, the new Jason Bourne type of, like, she's an assassin or something else. Probably. Probably. It looked cool. Yeah, they want to make her, like, the female Jason Bourne. Oh, that's right. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That must be what it was. Awesome! P1 Tom. Tom, are you there? Yeah. Hey, what's up, Tom? Yeah, I just wanted to... Hey, you guys, I just want to let you know. Tom? Yeah?
He's a friend of mine on MySpace, and I don't really know him. Just your friend? He's just my friend, and I just wanted you to know that Tom's a friend of mine from MySpace. I'm on your top eight, Mike. That's right. Go ahead, Tom. Well, I just wanted to let you know I went to the SDSU Hillary Clinton speech, and she was like 20 minutes late, and everyone was kind of... kind of getting upset because they kept having to reintroduce her, and she wouldn't come out, and then they'd pause. Was she partying with Axel? Yeah, she didn't show up in her limo until about half an hour after she was supposed to, and she wasn't that impressive of a speaker. I ended up leaving early. Wow. Listen, man, she's no Obama. That's true. She does not have the same appeal. She doesn't have the same appeal that Obama has. That guy's able to engage an audience. It's not that easy, Mike. It's not that easy. I've heard from her herself. She said, Hillary, is it easy? Do you think getting up in front of those people and doing what you do the way that you do it? Hillary. It's not easy. It's not easy. That's what I've heard. That's Hillary Clinton. P1AO is on the line. Hey, good morning. What it do? What's up, dude? I had a question for you, man. As much as you're into cars, bro, like you didn't like that Audi R8 commercial? Dude, listen, I stand corrected.
That was hot, dog. That was hot. You can put that one on the board. Well, I agree. I thought that commercial for the car was cool, but for Super Bowl commercials, it was just like another commercial. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I see what you're saying. And I think at one point, there was an Acura car commercial, and I think I even said, Isn't this a little boring for the Super Bowl? The Audi one was a little different to me because that car is so cool. Cut 95. The horse's head in his bed, just like the Godfather. Like they recreated it exactly like that seat. Pulls a sheet back, but instead of a horse's head, it's like an old Chrysler. Out in front of his place is the brand new Audi R8. So I take it back. Oh, you're right. That was pretty, pretty awesome. I like that one. P1 Rachel, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? I was actually calling because I was at the Hillary speech over at SDSU. Yeah. And I was there for about an hour. She was late, like the last caller said. But actually, before she got there, people were throwing paper airplanes on the stage. And the applause for the paper airplanes that got closest to the stage was louder than the applause for her when she got there. Wow. Wow.
It's not easy. It's not easy. It sounds like a lot of the students that went there to see her were irritated at the lateness. Yeah, there's actually an Obama rally that was going on during the Hillary Clinton speech because people were bored, and they just thought it was funny to, well, some people were serious about it, but some people thought it was funny to have an Obama rally instead of class. Oh, wow. My class was canceled because nobody showed up because they all went to the Obama rally instead. That's funny, man. Yeah, it was hilarious. Thank you for the call. Was there a debate last night with the Democrats? Oh, gosh. That would be not very smart during the Super Bowl. No, no, no. I'm sorry. No. I meant the night before. Was there a debate on Saturday or Friday or something? No, because I remember the last one that happened, which I believe was Thursday night. That one was. They said that that was going to be the last one before Super Tuesday. Okay. Yeah, I think they just replayed one. Okay. On Saturday. P1 Rudy, are you there? Hey, what's up? Rudy. What's up, Rudy? Did you guys see that one commercial with the Bud Light commercial where the guy comes in with the big block of cheese? Yeah, yeah. That one was okay. I thought that was all right. Seriously, that was one of my favorite ones. Really? Yeah. What'd you think of the Shaq commercial where he's riding, where he's a jockey in a horse race and the horse is real small and he's real big?
I actually didn't even see that one. Not bad. No, it wasn't bad. It made me smile. Most of them just made me smile. I don't really laugh, you know? We got to take a break, but Xtina, are you there? Yeah. What's up? I thought the best commercial was the Pepsi commercial with everybody falling asleep, but they should have put somebody in the stadium falling asleep during the Tom Petty concert. That is correct. That is correct. That was pretty boring. I could not agree with you more on that one. Never. Never. Amy Winehouse is in the hospital. Oh, really? Yeah, she was in rehab and they had to take her from rehab, put her in the hospital. I'll tell you why when we come back. On the Rock.

And Sunday. The Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I am insecure about being short and fat and Mexican and bald. I am not a doctor, but I will speak on this. Sky. No one speak our mind on this. Sean. Rob. That's crazy. That's crazy. We're giving away a cheap angle. And Ashley. I'll go through a roll of toilet paper in a day. The Mikey Show's on. That's true. Five-three.
Welcome back to the show. It is 9-0-1. Brittany's parents will be in court today. The judge is expected to decide who will get temporary control of Brittany's estate. Guys? Yeah? Eli Manning is the Super Bowl MVP. No. Is that really true? No. Did I wake up? Like, am I dreaming? My alarm's going to go off any second. No. That can't be right, Rob. No. My goodness. That's got to be a hard pill to swallow. That just makes me want to vomit. No, sure. Weird, man. I don't accept it. I don't blame you. Let's see. Ashley went and saw a couple of movies, and she's going to tell us about these movies. Oh, really? Oh, my gosh. We're going to do that in just a second. It was so long ago. Hang on. We're going to do that in just a second. I want to see just like what this video sounds like. They have Yoran Vandersloot, and I'm going to read you the text when we get to it. In the investigation of the fate of Natalie Holloway, as you all know, the Alabama student disappeared on vacation in Aruba. It's been two and a half years since then. Well, now a so-called confession has emerged. This is the Dutch man. Now they show Joran on the screen and they have the text because his language is like, what is it, Dutch? Yeah, they're speaking Dutch. So he says, Patrick, I'll tell you one thing. I have...
And they've got that stupid Today Show logo up on the screen so you can't see it. I guess it's not discussed it. I've not discussed it with anyone. It isn't something either. Not even now. Can they take that Today Show emblem off? But it gives the time and weather in New York. That's important. You have been arrested before and released in connection with the case. All of a sudden, Patrick, like a movie. All the things she did. And that's Patrick the P. And then, yeah, Patrick, the guy in the driver's seat of the car, says, shaking? And he says, yeah, a lot. So I was like, effing, what's all this? Well, now on tape, there is a confession. And the question is, is he being honest with the confession or is he being honest? Did you try to resuscitate her, Patrick asks? He says, of course, I tried everything. I was shaking the B.
So you're going to see that everywhere. We sent Ashley. Now, if you don't know Ashley, you saw her on American Idol. She was in the American Idol tryouts. She is a San Diego State Dean's Lister. She was on the Dean's List. She's Dean Lister. She fought, actually, this last weekend. No, she was on the dean's list at SCSU. However, some people think that she can at times be a little bit of a blonde airhead. Yeah. Definitely. Well, sure. Yeah, he, you know. What? What's up? Read between the lines. You know. I mean. You mean what? Well, I think we, yeah. I think we can all draw our own. Sort of. Right. Yeah. Laugh out loud. And so we sent Ashley to see a couple of smart movies. We sent her to see Charlie Wilson's War and Michael Clayton. Oh, man. Wow. You're smart. And Ashley, what were your thoughts? What did you think of these films? This is really going to. This is scary because I haven't seen Charlie Wilson's War in more than two weeks. And Michael Clayton I saw last week. And I have to.
explain them back to back, so I might get them confused. Oh, no. I like it. But they're so different. I like it already, right? It's a mash-up. Yes. Give it to me. Like this entire time you've been explaining. Tom Hanks and George Clooney go to Iraq. Wait. Julia Roberts and Clooney fall in love. Clooney is an attorney for... Saddam Hussein. Stop, because you're making it worse. Michael Clooney is an attorney. And then Beowulf shows up. No, wait, wait. I think Iron Man is in it. Then they were like, welcome home, Roscoe Jenkins. So what happened? We'll start with Charlie Wilson's war, and I'm just going to go through my thoughts that I remember. Let's do it. So Charlie Wilson's war. Loved it. Loved it. So good. Oh, really? If you're into, like, if acting is really a bit of you and realism, like, if you like the movies to be realistic. If you like intrigue and... And if you appreciate cinematography, this movie is the movie for you. Cinematography? It was fantastic. These are things that I care about in movies. Yeah, does she know what that means? I care about in movies. If you like Umbridge...
That does not apply to the word dork. I got a large diet Coke. Delicious. I did it, actually. You like goobers? All right. So tell me about it. What happened in Charlie Wilson's war? What's it about? The big names in that movie, obviously, Julia Roberts, Tom Haines. About two hours. Philip Seymour Hoffman. I'm listening, Ashley. So annoying. Philip Seymour Hoffman. Yes. Julia Roberts. Yes. Basically, this is what I got from it. And Tom Hanks. Yeah, and the acting was awesome. Because you know how sometimes in movies like that, when there's so many big stars, like, you don't get that into it. But the acting was fantastic. So, basically, it starts off like, like, there's a war going on. I don't actually know that feeling. But that doesn't mean that people don't, you know? Well, that feeling where, you know, you... We've talked about that before. Like the Oceans movies, there's so many big names of celebrities that you're just watching celebrities on the screen. You're not actually getting lost in the story. Remember how he said we appreciated Cloverfield? Because there were no names. There was no name actors. Thank you, Skye. See, I'm really glad that Skye said that because when Ashley first said what she said, I was struggling to think of an example.
Then once you said that, I go, oh, yeah, I kind of get it. You know, like Adventures of Pluto Nash. Yeah. I've never even seen that. Norbert. Great movie, by the way. Anyway, guys. Sean. Oh, stop it. So, basically what's going on is there's a really, really nasty war going on between the Soviet Union and Afghanistan and Pakistan. And it's like all hell's breaking loose over there. So they need our help. But the main people. Does this take place in the current time? No. When did it happen, Ash? Lily's back. Yeah. Back in the day, Mike. Well, that conflict between the Soviet Union and Afghanistan. Yeah, it was in the past. It's an old school war, Mike. East Coast versus West Coast. I think that the actual, I think the year they give is back in the day. Yeah, yeah.
So basically the main people that decide if we're going to help them or not weren't going to help them. And they were like, you know what, screw them, like whatever. So Tom Hayes... Who, the Soviets or Afghanistan? No, no, no, like our people here in America. I know, but who did we say screw you to? Like Afghanistan and Pakistan. Right, we said let the Soviet Union have you. Yeah, and I forget because it's been so long since I saw it why our reasoning was, but it was a BS reason. Right, totally. So then Charlie Wilson, right, and he's like... Whose war it is. No, but he... He's the owner. Charlie Wilson who plays... He's going to war. Tom Hanks plays Charlie Wilson, and he has a firm belief that he wants to help them because he went over... and met, like, either the, now I forget, either the Afghanistan or the Pakistan president. The Iraq. And he saw, like, firsthand what was going on over there. So then he put matters into his own hands. He got mixed up with Philip Seymour Hoffman's character, Gustavo Riguera. Wow. Oh, no. That's right. Hey, boy. And who was awesome, of course. Love him. And basically they came together.
And they totally were able to get all the necessary means to fight, help Afghanistan and Pakistan fight back to the Soviet Union. When did George Clooney show up? Clooney. No, he's in the next one. And what's Julia Roberts' character? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So she is like the second richest woman. Her name is Erin Brockovich. She's like the second richest woman. in the country, I guess. And her and Tom Hanks kind of have a little romantic thing going on. She's also the prettiest woman. Yeah. She sticks her hand in the jewelry box and he closes it on her and they laugh. That's for Pretty Woman, you jerk. Sorry. That's how he got Pakistan to do his bidding. He took Julie Roberts, who was a hooker, and then he throws a box in her hand. She looked great, by the way, Skye. She giggled. Three kids in my butt. Wow. Whatever. So they had a little fling going on. Basically, she was one who provided... She was very much behind...
Charlie Wilson, a.k.a. Tom Hanks, and she kind of was helping him to do this. I know, I know. And she had the money. Well, I get it, I get it. She's funded. She had the money to help. That sounds good. That one sounds good. That one was great. It sounds really good. I really recommend it. Really recommend it. What about Michael Clayton? How did that one... Oh, no. Okay, now, so this Michael Clayton was awesome as well. I mean, already. Michael Clayton. Michael Clayton. It was awesome as well. Loved it. Really? Like, highly recommend it. Loved it. What's it about? I have no idea, but I loved it. It's real good. It's one of those movies. It's kind of like The Usual Suspects or like The Matrix. Like, you kind of got to watch it again and maybe three times to like really catch everything. It's in the same category. The Matrix. No one knows what's going on. Michael Clayton. It's like Star Trek. It's hard to understand unless you speak Korean. Well, The Matrix and The Usual Suspects were movies for me that I had to watch a couple times to really guess what was going on. It's like a movie version of the Rubik's Cube. Like only Chinese people can really do it that fast. I brought a calculator and still didn't figure it out. I even brought my Asian friend Wang and he didn't get it either. Now I went by myself.
Just so you know a significant other. Oh, no. So what is it about? Tell me about it. Explain it to me. Michael Clayton is played by George Clooney. Yeah. And he does a great job. Fantastic. And he basically is what he calls himself a janitor. He cleans up messes. He's a miracle worker. That's what they kept calling him throughout the movie, but they never really say what he does. But he's bad. Well, in the preview, it says he's an attorney. Well, that's like his cover-up job. Oh, but he's not really an attorney. Right, like he's an attorney, you know, but really he's doing like... So the way that it works is like it... He takes off with this boom scene where they're like, Michael, we need you. And he rushes over and he's helping this guy. It's a technical term. And I can tell that this guy is high up, right? He's a big name, maybe in the government or something, big name in the media. And you can tell this is a major, super secret mission. And he goes over there and the guy had hit someone and killed him or something. And so Michael Clayton had to basically make the situation disappear. And he's like, I'm a miracle worker. I'm a janitor. And he was like, boom.
Here comes the boom. Okay. That's how the movie started. Eddie, why are you blinking like you're... Yeah. Eddie's blinking, like, really slow. Oh, he looks so good. He's trying to understand. Oh, no. Trying to understand. And then it flashes to four days earlier, and then that's... Where he's a ninja. Well, no, I get it. So, in other words, we don't know what he is, and then we find out what he is, and it was really good, right? So, it goes back to... What? Oh, no. Okay. Basically. Listen. No, no, no. She can do this. No. She can do this. You guys are discouraging me. I don't want to discourage. I want to encourage. It's a really good movie. So they go back to the future. It's discourager. I'm serious. No, so they go to the past. Can you let me? Because I'm getting discouraged. No, no, no. Please don't. I'm okay with it. I'm okay with it. Go ahead. And then what do you do? No. Oh. What? I'm confused. Then Locke was there. The polar bear. And I was like. There was a flash forward and a close up of an eye. And then I was like. Who's in the coffin? Oh. It's not bad. Well, listen. Both films sound good. Both films sound. I haven't explained Michael Clayton. I thought he was. You guys are being jerked. Oh. Ash. I thought the deal was he. You made the biggest.
going to see Michael Clayton. I freaking saw it last week. Now, wait a second. From my defense, I don't understand what you're saying. Oh, no. I want to hear what it's about. It's so good, and I want to freaking explain it. But you've been talking for 20 minutes. I don't know what it's about. Okay, wait. Eddie, I'll tell you what I've heard so far. Yeah. That's what you get for making me explain two movies in one break. What it is, it's my fault, number one. Yes. Number two. This is what I understand the movie to be. First of all, this is what I've taken away from the review. It's not easy. It's not easy. You're telling me, Hillary. I want to maintain a friendship. Here's what I've taken away from the review. Please, because I don't know what's going on. Clooney's good. What? I heard that. In the movie, silly. Oh, right. He's good. That's number one. Okay. Then the movie begins. With a very theatrical scene. No, she said a boom. Okay, I'm trying to tell you what I took from it as all. So that's what a booming scene is? Well, this is Mike's interpretation. I'm just saying what I interpret it as. Because I didn't want to say a boom scene because, you know, that doesn't... I have to say what I thought that was. You were going to say that doesn't make any sense? Movie starts with a bang. Movie starts with a bang. Realize Clooney's character Michael Clayton is...
He cleans up messes. What he positions himself to be is an attorney, but that's not really what he is. He's a guy that is hired by Julia Roberts to go... No, no, no. No, no. No. See, this is crap. This is why, Mike. This is what you get for me. I'll help you. Mike, this is taking the turn. I'll help you. Mike, don't do too... Do one. And I didn't even get them confused. It's your own fault, Mike. You blew it. But I think it was good. I think it ultimately was a really good fault. But I don't know. I don't even know. Utterly horrendous. Then what happens? All that for nothing. So then what does he do in the movie? He cleans up what? Like a mess. Cleans up. With sawdust. Mike? I'm asking. I'm trying to help. Can I have the floor back so I can explain the movie? You're smart. I'm trying to help you, Frodo. Give her the floor. The floor is yours. See, I don't want to. Ashley, I'm going to give you the respect you deserve. I don't want to bore any. I'm going to give you the respect you deserve. No way, man. I don't want to bore the listeners. This is your moment. Come on. Ladies and gentlemen. Just do it, Dad. Please. We will have no interruptions here. I want to hear what Michael Clayton is about.
It was very important to me that you see it. So he's going to help this guy in this mess because he did a hit and run, so he was going to help him. So he was driving to go start his mission to help the guy, and he gets out of his car to go look at some horses for a second. I think he was reflecting, and his car blows up, and he just takes off running. And then it flashes four days earlier. And then the rest of the movie was about those four days leading up to that bomb, and basically what the deal is is there's a big case... law firm that George Clooney, a.k.a. Michael Clayton, that music and those sound effects are very distracting. Go ahead. I like it. It really... A horse in that. One of his guys is working on it, and basically he starts to go crazy, the guy who's working on this huge case, and no one believes him. Michael Clayton. No. This other guy. I forget his name. But no one believes him, and so the whole entire... I forget it. I'm listening. Now you got me. You can't leave me.
Sean, help her out. Give her some effects while she's doing this. Go ahead. There we go. All right, so then what? That was Ashley's review of the films Michael Clayton and Charlie Wilson's War, and they both sound super good. I'm never, ever going to see a movie for you ever again. No, stop it. Don't you go there. Don't you. Hey, check this out. Did you know that a just-completed survey of AIS clients shows an average savings of $850 per year? He's a groundhog. Huxitani Sean. That's right. We should dress Sean as a groundhog and see if he sees his shadow. That's a great idea. So, I guess... Six more weeks of perversion. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Welcome back. It is 9.29. A Dutch TV show aired hidden camera footage of Vandersloot admitting that he had Natalie Holloway's body dumped into the ocean. It was certainly a giant upset as the New York Giants beat the undefeated Patriots 17-14 in Super Bowl XLII. Learn more about us... at MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. And if you go to the site, all you have to do is, where the keywords in are, type in the word blogs, and you can read our blogs. The subject is Ashley describing movies. It says, hey Mikey, do you remember reading Rainbow? Do you guys remember the part of the show when the little kids would be telling the viewers about a book that they read? That's what Ashley sounded like when she was describing these movies.
I really hope you know what I'm talking about. Otherwise, it's a wasted joke. No, that is not true. Stop it. Know it. I loved your movie reviews. I liked them. Rich and compelling. I got a lot out of them. Now the Super Bowl emails are starting to come in. Uh-oh. Oh, gosh, what? Rob? Mm-hmm. Mikey, after losing the most important game of the season, Bill Belichick has decided to scrap his lucky sweatshirt. But as luck would have it, he got a call from George Zimmer, the owner of Men's Warehouse, late last night. And from what I hear, it sparked a one-year deal. I guess what they said was that Belichick was on the fence about it, but decided to sign when Zimmer was quoted as saying, you're going to like the way you look. I guarantee it. In other news, Tom Brady was approached by spray and wash, and Junior Seau was approached. With a long-term deal from Kleenex. Wow. I told you that Brady song was going to jinx you. No, no, no. Don't say that, dude. Signed P1 Uncle Stove Pipe. Ouch. That hurts. I'm guessing he's a Chargers fan. Weak. Hey, Mikey, I don't know the extent of the injury, but what about Shockey in the luxury booth with a margarita and a Budweiser instead of being on the sidelines? That was great.
When they showed him, I was completely surprised that Troy Aikman and Joe Buck either didn't notice or didn't comment. What do you guys think? I'll call in at the end of the show if I can, unless you discuss prior. Signed, P1 Neato. Eddie, what do you think about that? Dude, there was so much alcohol in that box because it was Shockey and his boys. I was shocked. I thought his boys were on the sideline. I mean, I thought that was his boys. His running crew, dude. I mean, I couldn't believe how much boost was in the box. I was like, wow. Like, Jockey, you got to realize you're going to be on TV. So, I mean, there's no thing of like he, you know, feeling, hey, maybe I should be down there with my teammates kind of, you know, I can't play, but maybe I should be down there with them sort of. But you can't drink on the sideline. I'm drunk. That must be why. That's no fun. He can't have a margarita down there. No. Well, that answers that. That is pretty weird, though. That is crazy. What did you guys think of Paula Abdul's lip sync performance? Well, I didn't think she looked half bad. No, and I thought that the dancing was okay. I never thought she was a bad dancer or choreographer or whatever. But the song is very generic to me. Lots of stuff to her voice.
And the performance, wow. I was a little, I thought, I was saying this to Rebecca, I've seen her choreography before, and I think she's really, really good. Definitely. When I was watching this performance, though, I didn't think she was as, I don't know what other way to put it, other than really sharp. She wasn't real sharp, and there wasn't a lot of precision. Yes, definitely. Which is what I usually am used to seeing when you see Paula Abdul dance. She's got this real tight. Yeah, she just hits every move really hard. This was a little bit more loosey-goosey. You know, I said, I go, I don't know if it's just me, but I'm noticing that she's kind of like, kind of.
Going through the motions. Yeah, yeah. Was it a little lucid? It was a little, no, well, no. No, it wasn't lucid. I was lucid when I was watching it. I don't know that she was lucid. Right. I don't think she's ever lucid. When she was doing the performance, but Lucy, she was a little Lucy Goosey when she was dancing around up there. I had that same exact thought. You did? Yeah. Yeah. What do you think it is? Well, personally, you know, and this is just, you know, the. girl in me who likes to gossip, but I think that, yeah, she probably was numbed out a bit on, you know, a few pills of some sort. And it wasn't even live. It was taped. Yeah. And that's, you know, what we got. It kind of reminded me a little bit of like when Britney Spears did her VMA performance. Oh, now come on. That's ridiculous. That's what my wife said. No way. Yeah, because it's like, it's not, it's not, it's not bad. Britney was bad. She wasn't bad. She was walking through her performance. She was bad. Paula was doing stuff, at least. Paula was doing a lot of walking. There was a lot of jazz walks going on. That was the first thing Rebecca said. She said it reminded her of the Britney performance. Yeah, she didn't look bad, like how Britney looked bad in her thing. Paula looked nice, but as far as the dancing and the performance, yeah, no. No way.
I won't stand for it. And he's a big Paul Abdul supporter. Let's see what Tom Terrific said after the game. Cut 12. We gave everything we had. We just came up short. That's part of competition. That's part of taking the field and laying it on the line. And this team worked extremely hard for six months throughout camp. And it was good enough for 18 wins. It's just the most important one. We ended up losing. I'm sure we're all going to wake up tomorrow more disappointed when you review the film. I'm sure we're all going to have done things better. It's part of competition. You specifically, Tom. A team that is very deserving of being Super Bowl champs. Yeah, but Tom, what about the whole, man, you guys won all those games and you were undefeated. Does losing the Super Bowl, Tom, does that diminish or take away from? Yeah, 100%.
Does it do any of that, Tom? Cut 13. It doesn't take away from the 18 wins we had. Those were all great. We enjoyed all those. It's just the one that we wanted most just eluded us this season. Well, they won't talk about it like they used to. You're now an afterthought. Well, now you lost the Super Bowl. Congratulations. Now, Eddie, was there an area? Can you give me a very specific area of the Patriots' game plan? that you thought that you would question a little bit? Specifically, I did not understand their offensive game plan going into the thing. I would have spread the Giants out and said, you know what? You guys... Try and stop our wide receivers. Good luck. Try and stop our passing game. And they came out very conservative and ran the ball a lot and were doing things that I just couldn't figure out. Well, of that area specifically, they asked Coach Belichick that exact question. Oh, really? Of, you know, why did you do the conservative thing? Here was his answer. Cut 11. I mean, look, they played well. They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more than we did.
That doesn't really... Eddie, what about that fourth... and 13 play where they decided to go for it on 4th and 13. Big mistake. You've got to put points on the board. It was a 7-3 game at that point. You want to go up by a touchdown. 49-yarder is no gimme, but it's makeable, especially indoors. I question that decision going for it. How about that, Coach Belichick? With that play specifically, what was your thinking there? They played well. They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more than we did. I still feel lost to the question. I don't know if it's been answered necessarily. How about the fact that Coach Belichick left the field when there was still time on the clock? That is a question I would have liked. Yeah, Coach, you know, a lot of people think that's poor sportsmanship. What is your answer to that? I mean, look, they played well. They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more, and we did. Sounds like he's got a pretty...
Standard set answer. He's got an answer. Pretty much the same things for all of it. I feel like it's for all of it. Here's Eli. Or She-Lie. Yeah, She-Lie. About beating the undefeated Patriots. Cut seven. You know, when you're going up against a team that's unbeaten, they've won 18 games in a row and... You know, you're going home crying to your mom. You know, the best team in the league at the time. And, you know, we beat them. We played better than they did. And, you know, it was just a great game. And we believed the whole time. We knew if we played at our best and we played smart, we'd have a shot to beat them. I found myself. I said this to Rebecca. We're watching it, right? Here's Eli Manning winning the Super Bowl MVP award. And I said to Rebecca. I'm happier for Peyton Manning being happy for his brother. I honestly felt that. I was stoked for Peyton Manning because he was so happy. Oh, that's nice. Peyton Manning's happy. He's a good guy. I like him. He's a good guy. Eli. Here's a little bit more Eli on the MVP. Cut five. Ever any doubt.
that you can pull that off. Stop talking. We believed in ourselves all year. You want to be in. You want to have the ball in your hands. Four minutes left. Go down. You've got to score a touchdown. That's where you want to be. A chance to win the game. So many big plays on that drive. David Tyree. Huge catch. Blacks go on the touchdown. Everybody stepped up. I love you, John. Terry, if your voice is that But when did that happen? Yeah. He was fine at halftime. Dude. Yeah. Was he screaming for the game? I'm telling you. What a weirdo. He started talking. He goes, Ah! Eli! Oh. Was he, like, screaming for Tom Petty? I'm telling you. Maybe that was it. He was out there screaming for Petty. Play free-falling! Coach Belichick on the halftime performance cut 11. I mean, no, look, they... They played well. They made some plays. We made some plays. They did play well. In the end, they made a couple more, and we did. But what about... Well, it was boring. That was a strange answer, wasn't it? Really? P1 Rude Dog? Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? Hey, I wanted to know, do you guys think if you guys had Eli instead of Rivers, how the scenario might have played out? I mean, are we really going to do this? No, that's a tough one.
Are we really... Are we really going to do this? Get him, Eddie. I mean, are we really... I mean, are we really going to do this, Rude Dog? It's just not fair. We got to look at the question. How about this? Let's ask this, Rude Dog. Who's your team? I am a Raider fan. Really? Is that right? And how would you do with any talent? Yes. Bring it on. You guys were there six years ago, 1-15. That's right. Well, rude dog, I'm sure when the Raiders are in the Super Bowl next year. Hey, but you don't even have a head coach, bro. We watched Eels mature incredibly this year. Yeah, definitely. Great football team. You ever hear of Glass Houses there? The Oakland Raiders. Wow, that takes balls.
Takes giant gonads. Takes brass balls. Oh, my goodness. P1 Alex. What's going on? Big fan of the show. Eddie, got a question. Do you think that the information coming out about the Rams, that tape, do you think it just totally deflated them before the game even started? Eddie, what's he talking about? He's talking about Spygate Part 2. Oh. Where they're saying that the Super Bowl where the Patriots played the Rams, that the Patriots were secretly videotaping the Rams walkthrough. Before the game. Really? And a big controversy happened right before the Super Bowl was announced. I would say no, it did not deflate the Patriots. I think the Patriots are able to use that kind of stuff as motivation normally. That's what happened at the beginning of the year when Spygate originally came out. They used that as kind of like a motivating tool. Like, screw you guys. We'll show you that we don't need to cheat type of a thing.
They may have done that again, but it just didn't work this time. Sure, yeah. I see the Giants having fun, and I saw the Patriots look like... Tom Brady didn't even look like he was happy in the beginning. He just looked like they have to win. It's like the Giants were there. I guess they were playing with house money because they weren't supposed to be there. I'll tell you something. Whenever you see, during the course of a game, whenever you see a quarterback smiling, that's bad for the other team. And I'm not saying that I necessarily saw that yesterday. I'm just saying it was interesting when he said what he said. Because I noticed that in football games, particularly Brett Favre. That guy's got a smile on his face. What a smile, huh? It is nice. That is one bright, ruggedly... One beautiful... Just gorgeous. Just a gorgeous smile. Just a beautiful... I think we all envy that. It's just... Definitely you do. Stunning.
No question. We could talk about this all day. I wish I knew how to quit you. Hey, what's going on with Chad Johnson saying he feels betrayed by Marvin Lewis? What is that about? Apparently they stopped talking at some point during the season. Really? Yeah. Who are these people? You know Chad Johnson. He's on all the commercials. Number 85. Ocho Cinco. Ocho Cinco. Oh, Ocho Cinco. Yeah, he's got the big gold grill. The Rikard commercials where they show the guys in the stands and they're doing the... Oh, you don't want commercials anymore. Okay. Anyway, so, yeah, I guess they stopped talking at some point. And most people are saying this is kind of a ploy that Chad wants to be traded and get out of Cincinnati. P1 David, are you there? How's it going, Mikey? It's good. You have a question for Eddie, right? Yeah, yeah. I just want to ask Eddie. Eddie, do you think Junior Seau deserved the Super Bowl ring because of his career and how hard he's worked over the years? Or do you think he doesn't deserve it because he's, you know, some people kind of call him a traitor now because, you know. Deserve is an interesting word because I think, you know, you could say a lot of people deserve rings.
It is what it is. LT deserves a ring. Absolutely, he deserves a ring. A lot of guys deserve rings. Dan Marino. I was neither pulling for Junior or rooting against Junior. If he got his ring... Good for him. If he didn't, I don't really care. Who cares? I don't think he's a traitor because he played for a different team. The Chargers didn't want him. So, you know, he had every right to go play for another team. I didn't like the whole graduating thing and then next day, you know, re-signing with the Patriots. Like, that kind of caught me wrong. But if he won the ring, you know, good for him. You know, sure, he deserves a ring. Listen, I win. Junior, are you graduating today? Listen, I win. You didn't win, Junior. Listen, I win. You didn't, though. You lost the game. Love you, Matt. No, that's it. See you later, Junior. He's mad. Well, I would be mad, too. It's a tough day for him. He's leaving. So they're finally in L.A. There's a councilman proposing what he's calling a personal safety zone for the paparazzi and celebrities. Wow.
Really? It's happening. Good. Good. I've said that I think that at some point they have to pass legislation that will deal with paparazzi and celebrities because somebody's going to get hurt. Yeah. And that's what this guy is now saying. And I think it's a good idea. I hope they go for it. Yeah. So it still has a long way to go before it could ever become a law. But yeah, that a buffer zone of at least a few feet between the paparazzi and the celebrity. It's a good idea. Uh, The police in L.A. are interviewing Brittany's manager slash hanger-on slash all-around strange guy, Sam Lufte. Oh. Because Brittany's house got burglarized. And guess who had access? Yeah. Her dad, I guess, tried to change the locks, right? Yeah, because there was no real sign of break-in. So Brittany was taken to the hospital. Gosh, what was that? Was that Thursday night? And so then Friday morning, they noticed that some personal items from the home were missing that were there. They don't say what, right? No, they don't say specifically what these personal items were. So Jamie, Brittany's dad, immediately went in on Friday and had all the locks in the house changed because Sam had a key to the house. Can you imagine? That is just unreal. You guys all stoked about Bill Cosby's new hip-hop CD? Yep.
What? Did you say Bill Cosby? Yeah, Bill Cosby. Well, who else would he be talking about? Yeah, Kathie Lee Crosby. I was watching Cosby Show. Rita Cosby. Rita Cosby. I would buy that one. That would be good. That would be awesome. Well, why is Bill Cosby releasing a hip-hop CD? Wow, you just really don't get it, do you? I guess I don't, but maybe after you explain it, I'll go, oh, that makes sense. Well, the CD is going to be called State of Emergency. And his songs will address issues like proper parenting, teen pregnancy, drug abuse. I can't wait. Dropout rates. Sipping on gin and juice. I can't wait to get that on the air. Oh, yeah. That's the chocolate I'm talking about. Hip-hop CD. Is it a real hip-hop CD? Yeah, rapping. Not like for kids. But it will be profanity-free, he said. Of course, yeah. Oh. Anything about Jell-O pudding? That's right. I can't wait to play it. Mama said knock you out. Thank you. Yeah, baby. That's what Mama said. That's weird. I think they may have made a breakthrough in the writing. The writer's strike. Oh, please. I know. Seriously.
Yeah, sources say, and these sources say that they're not authorized to talk publicly about it. So they didn't want to be cited as the source. But they say that on Friday, the Writers Guild had a huge breakthrough with the studios. And they said that the strike could be over as early as next week. So that would be true. That's cool. Maria Shriver endorses Barack Obama. She did it at a rally that was hosted by Okra Winfrey. Oprah. At where? UCLA or something? UCLA. That's got to be weird, you know, having the governor's wife support somebody different than you support. It's kind of strange. It's America. I mean, you can do whatever you want. But they've been from different political parties forever, you know. Well, her family is the Kennedys. The Kennedys, and he's a Republican. Yeah, but still, can you do me a favor? Shut up. Shut up, folks. It's back in the kitchen.
Nan, I wish you didn't have rights. Oh, my gosh. Or those cheekbones. Skeletal. Both things are very disappointing to me. Hasta la vista, baby. Doctor, you have rights, and your cheekbones are really high. Yeah, they jet and melt. Yeah, do you have titanium under there? I think so. For real, let me... Yeah! All right. Let me look under your cheekbones. It feels real. It looks like titanium, though. I swear I will not kill anyone. Why don't you shut up about the Obama? Last week I said that I support McGame. Yeah. Shut up about the Obama. I'll be back. If you say you like Barack Obama, and I'm saying it's a put in the game, it's all wrong. The Mikey Show. Oh, yes! Times are tough. We suggest that you guys exchange emails because it can really help in the process of this learning for you guys to communicate. And so I met the guy next to me and I wrote my email address down. And he said, is your last name Kiyos? No, he didn't. I swear. Was it Woods? No. And his girlfriend was there with him. She started laughing, and she said, you're Mikey, right? And I said, yeah, and he doesn't listen. That's awesome. He doesn't listen. And so she thought that was really funny. That is funny. I told the story about Kiyo. Kiyos. Shawnee's back. Did he take the record off the player now? Shawnee? No. Very careful, Shawnee. Very. Yeah, put the needle right on the little grooves. I'm going to use this microphone. Oh, that's better. I mean, back, you know, back in the day, you could have died, you know, before antibiotics. Wait a second, Sky. That is true. For a friend to joke. I don't know that he's going to die. Yeah, that's crazy. But Sean's all right, though. He's not going to die. Luckily, no help for me. But apparently that makes it funny. Wait a second. I wish that Ashley hadn't IM'd me that joke. I would have never said it. Oh, and now you're going to blame him on her. I have your back, and then you're going to call me out saying I did one of your dirty... What's that? How's that? Uh-oh. Did I talk about the Amy Winehouse thing? Or did I just say I was going to talk about it and never got around to it? Well, Amy Winehouse is in the hospital. She was in rehab. They had to take her to the hospital because she was throwing up so violently in rehab that they finally had to take her to the hospital to treat her. You throw up really violently. I do. You do. It's very dramatic. I don't like it. I don't know. Dramatic to me implies that I'm doing it purposefully to be dramatic. No, it is. I don't mean that at all. There's nothing fake about it. When you listen to it, it's like, whoa, that guy's dying. That person's in distress. Hey, listen, that guy's really throwing up. There's no joking around. What does it sound like? Hey, that guy's throwing up and he means it.
Put a little extra oomph into it? Well, the deal is, is that once I start, and I'm sure there's some people that throw up in this way, but this is just the way that I do. And for those of you that are adults, I apologize. That's how you prefer it. I'm sure there's some people listening right now that are adults that think to themselves, you know, why is this conversation necessary? Right. And I understand that. Please. Human beings. Right. But the deal is, is that when I do that... Upchuck? Yes, the... diaphragm muscle that i have it it it like kind of sort of locks into place and so what you get is and sometimes it's frightening because i want to take a breath take a breath mikey and i can't breathe because i'm locked in
I don't mean to interrupt Mike, but didn't you have a talk with Sean about playing that sound effect? I've asked him to, yeah. I've asked him to not play that sound effect. I mean, he's played it like six times. I know. And I keep, I am of that, you know, philosophy of like, well, you know, if you ignore the bully, they'll leave you alone. And if you say to them, you leave me alone. You guys, his face is infected. Remember that. Wow. Throwing everything off. Hey, Sean. Apparently, Sean's sickness is funny. From his mic to his machine. It's such a hilarious topic. Understanding the rules. No, Sean, I'm on your side. I know next time I get a cold or something, you guys will make fun of me. No, this is not making fun. Well, listen, it's cool. Why don't you make fun of Amy Winehouse? Oh, Eddie, we would never. Well, anyways, that's all I can tell you right now. Oh, and the other thing I can tell you is that the Spice Girls have cut their world tour short. No! I was going to go to Dubai and see them. Please. Dubai? The hotspot? You had tickets for the Dubai show? Yeah, I did. I had to go online. What are you going to do now? Yeah. I mean, do you have to return them at the point of purchase? Probably. Oh, wow. It's going to be a long flight. It's Dubai's ticket master. Yeah. Yeah, they got some weird rules. Yeah. It's a bummer. Well, listen. I still think it's worth...
traveling there just, you know, to enjoy. Well, I want my $37.50 back, so. Is that how much the two tickets cost? Yeah. Well, no, one ticket. Well, with the service charge. Yeah. You were just going to go by yourself? Yeah, I want to enjoy the concert. Good show. I don't understand. Why would you not enjoy it if you went with your wife? Well, I don't want anybody to distract me from all the costumes. Good point. Didn't think of that. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. You're welcome, Oprah. It's a good show. Jessica Alba says that she wants her kid to be a nerd. Greetings. Greetings, nerd. Greetings, Alba. Why does she want that? Well, she was doing an interview. And, you know, if you didn't know, she's pregnant. And she just said that she would rather her kid be a nerd and have no interest in Hollywood. She says, quote, I want my kid to be a nerd. I want him to be really, really smart. I want him to be in band or orchestra. I keep telling my fiancé, our kid can't be cool. He has to be a nerd. Nerds are so much more dynamic. That sounds very adult. I want my kid to be Spider-Man. Okay, so Michelle Williams, who has a baby with Heath Ledger.
She finally has spoken about Ledger. She hadn't been saying anything. She was saying mum. Yeah. But anyway, what does she say now? Well, she released a statement that says, quote, please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I'm the mother of the most tender hearted, high spirited, beautiful little girl who's the spitting image of her father. All I can cling on to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes two steps at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him, end quote. Very sad. That's very short and to the point. Catherine McPhee got married. To that old dude? Yep. That's crazy! Married the old guy. He's 88 years old. Wow. The guy that she married. Not quite that old. This is pathetic. Or that Taylor Hicks, right? Yeah, she married him. Old dude with the gray hair. The silver foxes. Oh, that's the soul patrol. Catherine's 23 and... Holy Toledo. Her new husband is 42 years old. Why would they... Why? No, just 20.
You're different. They got married Saturday in Beverly Hills and they've been engaged since last year and a couple fellow American Idol contestants were there at the wedding. Kelly Pickler was there as well as Mandisa. Oh, I like Mandisa. I like her bangs. Mostly I like her bangs. I think we've given you everything. Oh. Wesley Snipes was acquitted. For the tax thing? Yep. Really? Acquitted of federal tax fraud. They convicted him on some misdemeanors. But, Sky, what did they want him for?
What was he up against? Well, basically, it was for not filing his taxes for six years as well. He was also accused of cheating the government out of $12 million in false refunds for the years that he actually did file. So it took the jury three days of deliberation to reach a verdict in the case. And they found him not guilty of trial. Trying to cheat the government out of the 12 million of false refunds. But they did find him guilty on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file a tax return. He was facing up to 16 years in prison if he was convicted on all charges. But now with the three misdemeanors, they say the max sentence would be three years in prison. Just hang loose blood. Let's see. I think we're done. I've given you everything. Everything I have. I can give you no more. It's over, Rob. You're good. You made it. It wasn't that bad. You got through the day, Rob. Well, I still got to go and deal with myself the rest of the day. Yeah, but didn't you think it was going to be rough today? Yeah. No, today was real good. I appreciate it. Thank you guys for being nice to me. I got to figure out what I'm going to do with the rest of my life yesterday.
Just remember from now on, watch it where you're supposed to watch it. I know, I know. See, I don't think that's why they lost, Rob. Part of it was Sky. No, I don't think it was Sky either. I think it was bad karma on them because they cheated. Oh! Whoa! So it's neither you or Sky. It's on them. That made him win. That made him win. Hey, there's always next. He's giving me a glare. Well, you know. I think that hurts. Salt in the wound. I don't know, Oprah. I don't know that anybody's... I think he's glad that she said that. 570-1053 is our phone number. And did I tell you that my wife had a very, very serious conversation with me about the TV show Lost? What did she say? Well...
She said it would mean a lot to her if I would watch it with her. I understand that. It would mean a lot to your friends as well. We've been saying that for a couple of years. So I'm going to watch it. Get back in the game, kid. It's worth it. Oh, how dare you. You know what I'm saying. We freak out. It's got to be. Do you not trust us? No, I trust you. You better be good. Whatever. You don't deserve to watch it. I know. Tell her. I don't. No, no, no. I don't think I deserve it. I don't think I've earned the right. Hey, Guy. Oh, my God. No, I'll watch it. Come on, Guy. Oh, Guy. Sorry, what? How's Ben? Can you very briefly tell me what's going on? No. Mike, you better watch. I'm watching, too. They're no longer on the island, right? What? I thought they were rescued. They're showing fast forward. On a two-hour lost. Rescued. Sky. I'm sorry, what? So they're still on the island. All right, fine. Come on, we're going to watch season three, and then we're going to jump back on the bandwagon. That was season one, for crying out loud. Remember that, Mike? Yeah, I do. That was season one. It's better than that. It's better than that. Yeah. Now they're flash-forwarding. Yeah, dude. I will not do Big Brother in a couple of weeks. Oh, we'll see. All right.
That's stupid. Okay, Amy Winehouse. I don't know what that means. You can't just give up an addiction. Thank you. You don't just go, oh, cool turkey, I'm good. But what's happened is I've recovered. You think. You think you have. Somebody's going to wave it in front of you and you're going to just be like, oh, yeah, I don't want that. I don't want that. Every single morning when Sean and Skye and I start talking about, you know. That's right. Whoever. Jason. Here's what I've asked my wife. That crazy guy. I've asked my wife. I've said, you know, can you just not keep that stuff in the house? Oh, yeah, right. It's not going to happen. It's not going to be a dry house. It's not going to be a dry house. She's an addict and doesn't want to recover. You know it. And I've talked to her about that. I said, listen, I can't expect you to recover because I have. If anything, she's going to be enabling it. Right. You're in trouble. You're in trouble. I'm in trouble. And I said to her. We're going to be drinking it all morning. Just give it it. Give it to you. I'll blow it in your face, bro. Ha, ha, ha. I said, you have to understand it took me a while to get through this. I'd like you to support me. Just maybe watch a little bit. You're with a bunch of drunks here, pal. But you know me. I can't have Big Brother in moderation. I can't have Big Brother in moderation. Listen, Sky. Every time I thought that I could control my Big Brother. See, I don't watch Big Brother to the point where I watch an episode and I'm good.
I have to watch Big Brother until I'm watching Big Brother after dark. I'm on the internet. Don't you love it? And eventually I had to come to a point where I admitted I am powerless over Big Brother. Was that not the best time of your life? All right, I'm back in. BB9, BB9, BB9. Terrible. That show is addictive. It's terrible. Yeah, dog. P1 Kevin is on the line. Hey, guys. I just want to say you guys have been great. The past few weeks, me and my girlfriend broke up. We're engaged, and you guys have just been helping me through it all. And you guys have been great. That's awesome, man. You guys have been really helping me out, making it real easy on me or easier for me. Was it Skye's fault? Why would it be my fault? Sometimes you bring up stuff that makes people argue. No, she lives up in Idaho. She doesn't listen to the show at all, but she started school, and everything was getting to be too much for her, and we broke up, and you guys have just been great to me and helping me through it. There you go. Thank you very much. Better off without her, dude. Oh, wow. Hey, well, that was not. It could be true, but that doesn't help. P1 Buckley is on the line. Buckley? Sing us something. Buckley. Yes. Buckley, what are you calling for? I just wanted to personally thank B-Rob on behalf of America.
for jinxing Patriots with his break. Don't do that to him, Buckley. Don't do that to him, bro. Kick a guy when he's down. That's gotta hurt. I mean, it is true, but don't do that. We all know it. Sky's fault, and we all know that. It's not my fault. It's not Sky. I wish I did. Chris? Hey, Mike. What's up, dude? I just wanted a quick question. Maybe some other P1s have the same. The cutoff on M-Tube is the 11th, correct? That is correct. Okay, so you're taking submissions on Monday or they have to be done by Friday? They've got to be done by... We've got to have them by Sunday. Okay. So Monday, it's no more submissions on Monday. It has to be done. Actually, I think Friday does make more sense because we want to start posting them by Monday. I don't know that we're going to be doing it late Sunday night. Yeah. So really, Friday, you want everyone to be done with them. I would appreciate that. That would be nice. Awesome. And you know what I was thinking? I almost want to change my whole theme and do something that doesn't promote the Mikey show, but I want to bag on Clear Channel. Well, if you could somehow figure out a way to promote the Mikey show while bagging on Clear Channel, I'm fine with that. Or make a run of this, and then that could be the objective next time. Well, I just want my studio fixed. To be honest, I don't care about Clear Channel. It's really hard to hear you right now. And I call in a lot. We sent a help desk. We sent a help desk. Can you send a help desk?
This is really tough. Yeah, maybe. Do a video of the help desk. Yeah. He can't hear us, though. I wish he could. That'd be cool. It would be nice. I've heard that other studios complain about it, too. Yeah. Other stations in the building complain. Love this whole building up. No, well, we don't really mean that. I would love it. No, well. I don't want to be in it. Well, well, with the whole building evacuated first. Yeah. I think that what Eddie's saying is more metaphoric than anything else. I would hope so, Mike. What he's saying is, you know, man, it'd be great to get rid of the equipment. Yeah, yeah, right. Get all new equipment would be great. Okay. Would be really good. Right. And I agree, Eddie. It would be great to get new equipment. I would love... If this place burnt down... Wait a minute. No, no, no, no, no. Again, I guess that's what we're here. I'm just saying, if it did, I don't want it. I'm not saying I want it to. hypothetically, if this place were to burn to the ground. We do realize there is nutcases out there, so Eddie is joking. First of all, I don't want that to happen. Well, you just said you would hope. I said if it did happen, then we would get new studios. No, don't say that. For real. That's weird. Don't do that. Oh my God, we're burning alive! I don't want to burn alive. I don't want that to happen. I'm serious. P1 Gary, are you there? Yeah. What's going on?
Hey, I just wanted to let you know I saw in the reader that Third Day is playing at House of Blues on February 20th. That is correct. Yeah. They'll be in here that day. Sweet. Yeah, they're coming in that Wednesday and they said we'll do whatever you guys want. They'll want us to play acoustic or whatever. Will they juggle? I don't know if they juggle. I hope they do. If they do and we ask and they are open to juggling, then why not? I'd enjoy watching that. Awesome. There you go. All right. Thank you very much. P1 T-Rex is on the line. What's going on, guys? What's going on, dude? Hey, I just wanted to ask Sean if he got his Christmas presents. Actually, I should have sent to Sean. Sean, did you get your Christmas presents from T-Rex? What was it? What was it? You got a coffee cup, panda coffee cup. And I think you had some panda poo in it, actually. And that is good for your face. You can add a little water to that, the panda poo, and I heard it'll clear up your skin. Sean, did you get your panda poo in the Panama? Yeah, I did, and I threw it away. Oh, wow, Sean. I threw it right into the garbage. First, I burnt it. All right. Well, Sean, that's certainly not very nice. Could have helped your face, Sean. Yeah, could have helped your face. Thank you. It has 101 medication value.
There you go. Thank you, P1T Rex. You guys have a good one. You too. Mikey, show last call. Bring us home. Anybody give him Rob a hassle on the Patriots? Yes. Yes, we did. We gave him plenty of hassle. Thank you very much. For those of you that are in the studio, we'll do a show meeting in a little bit. For those of you that are not in the studio, we hope you'll come back and join us tomorrow morning at 530. What do you think about that? It's not that Missy is up next. She has on the show today a little something we like to call double shots on the nooner. Oh, I love that. And we'd love for you to tune in. We'll see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out late. I love you, Matt.
