The show mixed personal humiliation and elaborate comedy, including Ashley's accidental kick to Eddie, her frantic rescue of Sammy from a wasp, Boston Rob's women's-jeans confession, and Sky's chaotic spoof interview with four octuplets. In Cheaters Hotel, Annette's suspicion over Kurt's Bride Wars ticket ended with Kurt choosing her for the gift basket and admitting he saw the movie alone. The hosts also dissected Stephen King's attack on Stephanie Meyer's writing, Rod Blagojevich's evasive interviews with David Letterman and Larry King, Johnny Knoxville's fake grenade at LAX, and Wells Fargo's bailout-era Vegas retreat. Their sharpest argument concerned Australia's proposed removal of severely obese children: Sky framed ignored medical advice as neglect, while the others raised genetics, proportionality, and government-overreach concerns.
What happened, in order
Denny's Grand Slam Rush
Denny's free Grand Slam promotion drew huge lines, improvised shared tables, and even rain checks, while callers debated whether waiting that long for a four-dollar breakfast made sense.
Ashley's Accidental Kick
During the Ashley After Show, Ashley accidentally swung her leg into Eddie's testicles, leaving him in pain and everyone replaying her horrified reaction.
Stephen King Slams Twilight
Stephen King praised J.K. Rowling as a terrific writer but said Twilight author Stephanie Meyer could not write well, sparking an argument about literary quality versus enormous commercial success.
Drug Deal on 911
A 20-year-old put a returning 911 dispatcher on hold to arrange what police recognized as a heroin sale, leading officers straight to him and the drugs.
Cheaters Hotel: Bride Wars
Annette tested boyfriend Kurt with the Cheaters Hotel prank after finding a Bride Wars ticket, but he named Annette for the romantic gift basket and admitted he had watched the chick flick alone when Taken was sold out.
Blagojevich Meets Letterman
David Letterman and Larry King pressed Rod Blagojevich about the alleged sale of Barack Obama's Senate seat, and the hosts argued that his evasive analogies and nonstop media tour made him sound guiltier.
Ashley Versus the Wasp
Ashley screamed, grabbed her dog Sammy from the patio, pulled on one Ugg, and repeatedly stomped a giant wasp because she feared an allergic sting could kill Sammy.
The Octuplets Interview
Sky tried to interview four spoof octuplets named Peter, Stuffy, Nutsy, and Heather, but the diva babies dodged questions about their sperm-donor father and promoted imaginary acting careers instead.
Knoxville's Fake Grenade
Johnny Knoxville explained that a wardrobe worker accidentally packed a fake grenade from a Nitro Circus shoot into his luggage, prompting a major security response at LAX.
Wells Fargo's Vegas Retreat
The crew condemned Wells Fargo for planning a lavish 12-day Las Vegas employee retreat after receiving a 25-billion-dollar bailout, rejecting its claim that the trip used different money.
Boston Rob's Women's Jeans
Boston Rob's blog revealed that he once bought and tried on women's designer jeans without realizing it, then endured a humiliating return and relentless mockery from the crew.
Removing Obese Children
The show debated an Australian proposal to remove extremely obese children from parents who ignored medical guidance, weighing preventable health neglect against genetics and dangerous government overreach.

Yeah, boogie down. Boogie down, dance time, everybody party, and like it's $19.99. That's right. Welcome to the program. It is 6.06, a Mikey show, and here we are in here on a Wednesday, ready to go, pumped up. And a phone number, too. I got a phone number for you, 570-1053. And we started talking about the new texting yesterday with... our people in the know. The uppers and the lowers. Yep. What? People in the attic and upstairs and also the people that work in the basement. And so very soon we may have a solution to get the text messages back. That would be great. Yeah, yeah. So good. Now, the solution would not allow us to send out little texts to you occasionally, but it would allow you to text us, and that's a good thing. And so it should be cool. Yep. So let's get this sucker rolling. 570-1053. Phone still works for now. Right? Clear Channel has not said to us yet, I'm sorry, but due to budget cuts, you can't have request lines. We still have microphones and headphones. Wow. We're going to have to share a mic soon. Now, the only reason is because there are headphones. We bought them. Well, mine already. What are we going to do? Well, mine are Mike's old ones.
All right, so Sky, oh, first, real quick, it's me, there's five people on the show, me, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, and Boston Rob. We're all very different people. I was thinking about that the other day. We're all very different, but that's kind of what makes the show sort of interesting for you is that we're very different people. And so with that being said, umama. Umama. So Denny's yesterday, Sky. Talk to me about Denny's because yesterday, as you know, Denny's was giving away free Grand Slams from 6 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon. So they estimate that about 2 million people took advantage of this. Wow! Yeah, now Denny's first released that they were going to do this in 30-second ads that aired during the Super Bowl, and they say in between Sunday night and Monday morning right after the ads aired. They got 14 million hits on their website. Wow. 14 million? Yeah. Wow. They said yesterday that basically people were sitting with strangers at tables because say there's like two of you, but it's like a booth. Yeah. They would sit like two couples that didn't even know each other in a booth. Listen. That's hilarious. As cheesy as this sounds. Yeah. Yeah. This is going to sound so cheesy when I say this. What?
I bet people got new friends yesterday because they probably started talking and liked each other. Denny's changing the world. That's right. Thank you, Denny. Yeah, man. I drove by the one off the 8th and, what is it, 70th? Yeah. About 1 o'clock when I was driving home from work, there was a line still wrapped around the building. Really? Yeah. I couldn't believe it. The Denny's in North Park on Elkhorn Boulevard said that people only had to wait about 35 minutes to get in, which is kind of hard for me to believe, but that's what an employee there claimed. And then they also said, and this is something that P1s were calling and telling us yesterday, that customers who couldn't wait were given rain checks for free breakfast at another time. Awesome. No way. Which is, like, crazy, too. Like, they're just giving the food away. It's best. That's pretty cool that people got rain checks. I just, man, I can't imagine standing in line for, like, a $4 breakfast. Like, I couldn't do it. I know. You had it, though? Yeah, I have many times. I would give you $4 rather than make you stand in line. Done. No. I'll have it. No, I mean, I'll take it. You would have stood in line. I was there. I didn't see it. You got me waiting in the lobby. That is weird.
What a trip. Yeah, that's amazing that they did that. I hope it improves their business because they probably took a big loss yesterday. Anybody listening right now that got Denny's yesterday? I want to know how was it. Was the food good? Delicious? Was it worth it? Were the portions the same as they normally are? How's that sausage? Did it cook right? Hey, you guys. I don't know about you guys, man, but my favorite places to eat over the last whatever with the economy, it's different, man. You think the portions are different? Dude, the portions are different and the quality is different. Really? I don't know if I told you guys this. And listen, I love Ralph Rubio. Love Ralph Rubio, love Rubio's. Ralph Rubio came in here to the studio, brought fish tacos to Sky. But we were at the... Yeah, because Sky had never had fish tacos and she said... We said, well, what if we get Ralph Rubio himself? And we said that, by the way, not knowing if we could actually get it done. And she thought that, like, Ralph Rubio was, like, a fictional guy or something. Like Ronald McDonald. No, he's a real person. She checked his license when he came. She did. She did check his license. And so he came in here to the studio. So we have a great relationship with him. I love him and everything. I'm just going to tell you the truth and give you an observation. What? I went to the Rubios over by the movie theater in San Marcos.
You know, they've got that little food court outside, which is kind of strange. Yeah, one on San Marcos Boulevard. Yeah. And there's a Rubio's in there. And I went in there, and I got myself the shrimp. I got myself the shrimp burrito. Got myself a little scrimp burrito. All right. I love that sucker. Okay. You ever had that? I'm not a fan of that. No. You don't like that? No. You know, under normal circumstances, this is a great value, and it just tastes good. There's no doubt about it. But, sorry to say, it was way lighter and had way less shrimp in it. And, you know, the quality didn't taste as good to me. Now, is this just one time? Or has it been a few times? Once. Okay, well, then it could just be, you know. A new person working. A mistake. You don't know. Go back again. Give it a try. Yeah, but don't they have to. Don't they have to maintain some sort of quality control? Well, they try. It's just one time. They try to, Mike. And that can happen anywhere. Everyone can make a mistake every once in a while. All right, fine. Nobody's perfect, Mike. All right, fine. I'll go back. I'll try it again. Thank you. Do it. I'll try it again and see. Doesn't he deserve that? I think he does. He's a good man. I think he is a good man. I just am a little worried that this is an economy thing. Places that you go, they're changing a little bit.
Well, you know, I definitely noticed, you know, raising prices, you know, and that started a while back. But I haven't noticed anything in regards to quality or portions, at least in my travels. You only go to Outback. Well, that scrimp burrito is way different. I liked the scrimp club. Ooh, that too. 570-1053 is the number. And P1 Ashton is on the line and wants to talk about Sky's provocative dream about Barack Obama. Hey, guys. Hi. I just wanted to tell you that, get right to the point, the Obama dream, okay? I've learned that everything in your dream is not about anyone in your dream. It's only about an aspect of yourself. So, with that said, I was going to ask you, explain Obama to me in one word. Wonderful. Wonderful, okay. So, do you, okay, generally, it's kind of hard to explain, okay? No, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. No, hang on a second, Ashton. I know what you're going through right now. You're saying to yourself, but is it possible that a human being actually views themself as wonderful? Wonderful. You'd have to know our friend Sky. Well, wait a second. You'd have to know our friend here, okay? That's not what... You'd have to... Let her speak. That's not what I'm saying. Go ahead. Go ahead. Please. So, wonderful. Okay. Sky, you just got this spider bite, right? Yeah.
Okay, so like the whole gunman thing, all this stuff, you know, hanging out with the family, you know, you're just trying to, you know, analyze yourself in your dreams, and that's what I've learned. I've had so many different dreams about random stuff that doesn't even mean anything, and you sit back and you, you know, okay, one word that describes each person and each thing in your dream, and you kind of put all that together. Now, let me ask, do you, Ashton, do you... Do you do this just upon your own analysis, or have you actually heard dream analysts talk about this, and you're speaking from, you know, experience from hearing it from professionals, or are you just doing this yourself? I don't know. Their own interpretation. So many different types of dream analysis is ridiculous. You know, you can never truly pinpoint it, but I'm just giving you guys this idea, you know, maybe dreams aren't, you know, maybe dreams don't really mean anything. They just kind of... You know, they're just an aspect of yourself, and that's what I've really taken from most of my dreams. And even if it's not true, if you just put it that way, you can learn a lot about yourself through your dreams. Yeah, I know that Eddie forgot to put it in his yesterday email, but I know that Eddie had a provocative dream about John McCain. Pretty erotic. I don't believe that. He just didn't want to talk about it. I don't believe that. That's right. Meow. If he had to describe John McCain in one word, it'd be hot.
I was going to say sexy, but on board. I was going to say cut. Yeah, cut. Fit. Yeah. Okay. All right, Ashton. Well, thank you very much. Thanks, guys. Have a good day. Appreciate it. P1 Pete was at Denny's yesterday. Oh, come on. Pete. Hi, it's P1 Pete. Oh, Pete. Pete. I know it, Pete. Tell me about your Denny's experience. Actually, I went over there, and there wasn't really necessarily, like, not really a wait. You pretty much reserved your table, and they told you how much time you had, like 45 minutes before your seat was available. And you didn't have to wait in line. I just went to Target, and I hung out for like 30 minutes or 40 minutes, and we came back. And then they sat us down within like three minutes, and we didn't order any food. They just brought out the grand slams per person. Oh, really? Oh, cool. Was it delicious? Did it taste nice and fresh?
Yeah, because I worried that maybe because they were doing such a large quantity, something would sit under a heat lamp. But didn't they ask you how you wanted your eggs? Yeah, they asked us how we wanted our eggs. Oh, okay. Everything was in order. That's what I was going to say. I don't want somebody forcing some over-easy eggs on me. I'm going to be having that. Made to order. Maybe you'd be lucky. I know. Sky, you roll scrambled. That's it. Oh, yeah. That's right. For sure. Got to have the runny yolk. It's the best. It's the best. Shush. You shush. You shush it. You throw up. Sneeze in your egg. No. Yeah, if you put snot in it, who's doing that? The runny yolk is the sneeze. Hey, Ash. What's up? Can you send a help desk to run food? Help. Run food to the rescue? Yeah, about our phone line that goes... Oh, you don't like that? No. So soothing. It's kind of like listening to the first Solstice album. I prefer my eggs with yolk, but as I've gotten older... Something happened. Me too. It can make you sick? It makes me really sick. Yeah. And I, you know, I'd always been, I had, like, Sky has dairy problems, and so eggs, for some reason, always bothered me. Yeah. And then they stopped bothering me, and now they bother me again. Oh, no. So, I don't know. Oh, that's weird. Sort of cider ice. That's good for you, dude. Yeah, I recommend it. Kind of get a little cider ice on that. Hey, it soothes his stomach, bro. Sky has...
She's lactose intolerant. I have a sensitive tummy, Mike. Sensitive tummy. I'm not going to lie. And so the first time she went out to dinner with her now husband's family, she ordered a side of rice at their Mexican restaurant, at the Mexican restaurant, because she knew that she wanted to just keep it so that she wasn't getting any kind of... Well, yeah, it was nerve-wracking enough. I had enough, you know, stomach acid going at the time, just eating with the, you know, parents. So if you would have got like one bean in your mouth, It would have just been over from there. Well, no. Well, bean isn't dairy, though. No, I'm not saying that. Bean's not dairy. But beans are made with a lot of lard, and they normally put cheese on them, so I'd rather just not go there. But lard's not cheese. Well, but lard, if you have a sensitive tummy and you're already on edge, you know, you don't need to be putting a bunch of lard in there. Yeah. That's not going to help anyone. Yeah, does lard give you gas, too? Well, I don't. Everything gives me gas. Okay. The air that we breathe. Really? You know what I'm saying? P1 Kevin, are you there? Oh, Kevin. If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again. That's all right. Try again later. Would you like to make a call? I would. I would. P1 Sean is on the line. Too soon? Sean? Sean? Is it you? Sean? Is it you? Sean?
Which, it's going good. Which Denny's did you go to? Well, I went to four of them, but I ended up on the one on West Main and El Cajon. You went to the one on West Main and El Cajon, and how crowded? You know what? It wasn't that at all. It was only about a 15-minute wait. Oh, wow. And why four? Well, I went to the one on Navajo first, and it was a two-hour wait. Okay. Dude, you were working it. You probably spent more money on gas than you did getting the free Grand Slam. That is true. That is true. Well, was it worth it? Was it delicious? Two? How'd you get two? Oh, wow. Score. So they let you have hers? That would have been the good thing. You go there and you say, hey, my buddy's with me. She'll be right here. And they seat you. They bring out your Grand Slams. You're like, I don't know where she is. She likes her eggs scrambled, though. Just like mine. Yeah. Just like mine. I was listening to the president of Denny's or the CEO or whatever he is today. That was Barack Obama, dude. He's the president of the United States.
But just as delicious. Just as delicious. Okay. They say they made all their money off the drinks and everything like that because there's such a big markup on that. So it's actually made a profit off of all the free food they gave. Seven bucks for one soda. Yeah. All right, dude. Well, thanks. I appreciate the call. You guys take care. All right, man. Our phone number 570-1053. MySpace kicked. 90,000 convicted sex offenders off their site. That is crazy. When, Skye? Well, they made the announcement yesterday. I guess the state attorney general in Connecticut had been pressuring them to get... convicted sex offenders off their site. And initially, MySpace had refused to comply with their subpoenas, citing federal privacy laws, saying, oh no, we don't have to do that. And finally they decided, okay, we'll comply, we'll look into it. And by looking into it, they identified and removed 90,000 convicted sex offenders from their website. I wonder if there's a way for them to somehow keep them off.
And that's probably going to be harder. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Is it as easy for them to go on there and just change their email and do a different MySpace account? Probably. Yeah. Which would be a waste of everybody's time and effort. Right. The only good thing about it is that probably violates their parole if they're on parole or probation. That probably violates that. So, you know, hopefully they'll get in trouble for it. don't they have to do something wrong no i mean if you're if you're messing around with you know any kind of stuff that may involve you know yeah like say they're chatting on myspace with a 16 year old then that violates it because they're not allowed to like but how do we know they did i don't know hopefully myspace will yeah can't you just like check you know there's comments on your wall and you go to that person's profile yeah but that means somebody from myspace is going to go through 90 000 of those suckers and see what they were probably if
I would assume that they would release the names to their probation officers and things like that. I would hope. And then the probation officer is going to go on. They would have to do the investigation. And look through them? Sure. Well, that's a crazy thing, man. Yeah, and those are just convicted sex offenders. I mean, how many pervos are out there that haven't been picked up yet? Gross. Rob. Wow. I'm just saying. I'm just saying perverts in general. That was one time I was peeking in your window. Why'd you leave the ladder up? Let's see. What else we got? So Kelly Clarkson says that she's not gay. And she doesn't understand why everybody thinks that she's gay. Well, why have I keep been saying it to all my friends? I'm like, no, she's totally gay. I've never heard that. Neither have I, and I've never thought it.
Come on, I've been saying that for years. No, you have not. I've seen that song, Since You've Been Gay. Since you've been gay. That's why. I thought it was gone. That's probably why people think it. Yeah. Okay. Hello, Kelly. You might try looking at that song. What's the other one? Like, Behind These Gay Eyes? Yeah, yeah. Miss Les the... Dependent? Who could forget Miss Lesdependent? That's a telltale sign. Kelly Clarkson said that people come up to her and say, are you secretly a lesbian? Because I'd really love it if you were. What? Yeah, which is weird. You didn't say that. And so Kelly says she tells them, well, I'm glad it works for you, but I wish I liked women because oftentimes men are hard to deal with, but I do happen to like boys. That's what she said. She likes little boys now? Oh, creepy. What is them being gay? Creepy. Kick her off my face. 570-1053 is the number. Come on, give us a call. I want to talk to people.
I want to talk to P1s. P1s, by the way. Did anybody get me a rain check, by the way? No, for your Denny's? Calm down. Denny still owes me $4. No, I do not. What are you talking about? Earlier in the show, he goes, I'd rather give you $4, and I go, done. Okay. Well, he didn't stand in line. If he stood in line, I would have given him $4. He stood in line yesterday. He did not. For what? I'm not going to reveal that. Sorry. So weird. A P1 is somebody that listens to The Mikey Show exclusively. If you're a Mikey Show fan, you're a P1. And you call us and you turn your radio down and you get to the point and you don't cuss. That is what a P1 is. Yeah. Awesome. So get on the phone. 570-1053 is the number. Oh, yeah. I want to remind you. Ashley's mom. You know all the little Ashley's mom sound clips that we have? Yeah. You know what I'm talking about, right? I love her. You feel it. She's fantastic. You feel it. I love her. At MikeyShow.com, we put a soundboard where you can sit there and just play all those sound effects. Oh, I bet that sounds like fun. They're all little sound clips of Ashley's mom. Why do you sound so funny? That's a good question. Just go to MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W. Oh, boy!
And you can sit there and just have a blast. You'll laugh and laugh. Prank call your friends. That's right. Prank call your friends with them. Your friend picks up the phone and you say, Oh, that'll be fun. And they're like, Oh, that'll be fun. You're like, just, you know. Why do you sound so funny? That is fantastic. I'm trying to think who we could do that to. I was just thinking. I'm like, I wonder if we could do a prank call and have my mom be talking. I think we could. Awesome. I think we could. That would be rough. We just got to find somebody that doesn't know. Your mom. It would be easy to do. P1 Rogers. P1 John. What's going on, dude? Yeah, I work down at Miramar. A bunch of my junior Marines are doing their taxes on base, and they're getting that stimulus check that they got last year pulled back from them this year when they're doing their taxes. Really? Yes. So they're going to deduct it from any sort of return they would have this year? Yes. How does that seem fair? That sucks. That's the reason why I'm asking you guys. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. Question, question. Or are they going to add it as income? In other words, they're going to say, instead of making $23,700 last year, you now made $28,200.
Is that what you're saying? Working out, but they're just saying, hey. You know what? I suspect that that's what it means. What I don't think it means is that you have a $700 return coming to you, and now it's only $200. I don't think that that's what it means, bro. I think what it means is they're counting it as income. And so when you file your income taxes this year for the year 2008, and listen, if there's a... If there's an accountant listening, you can call. But I think that what they're going to do is they're going to count it as income from last year, which I don't think will affect you much. I don't think that will affect people very much. But I could be wrong on this. And so if there's an accountant listening and they want to tell me, they can definitely call us. Because I know they're like, okay, say you got $600 back, they're going to be deducting $600. I don't think that's true. I do not think that's true. I think that's somebody that misunderstands the concept of what's going on. Yes. And you have to understand that concept in order to really get it. Hey, guys. I love money. Oh, you do? Okay. Let's calm down. All right. Thank you.
That's all I'm saying. Is that necessary? If you don't understand. I didn't think so, but she apparently wanted to yell that out. Back off, guys. I burned hundreds to stay warm. Okay. I mean, in these times. In these times, I think that's so insensitive. I think that's insensitive. That is awful. It's very, very, very insensitive. Show me the money! Oh, wow. Oh, my gosh. Get him, Skye. All right. Oh, my gosh. Can we calm down a little bit, please? Phone lines are blowing up, and P1 Mike is on the line to talk about our tax returns. Go ahead, Mike. Yes. Mike. Yeah. Turn that radio. That's never happened at all this year at all. I have. You know what? I'm developing patience. I'm developing patience. You are. It is a virtue. That is correct. P1 Bo's wife is a tax collector. Are you there, Bo? Yeah, this is Bo. My wife's a tax preparer in San Diego. She has been for 10 years. And you have to claim the $800 as income, but they're not going to be taking it out of your... There it is. That's what it is then. So that you're not going to... It won't affect your return. No, it won't affect your return. It's just that you have to claim it as income. Very nice. Perfect. Thank you very much, Bo. No problem. You want Scooby's on the line. Oh, hi Scoob. Hi Scoob. Hi Scoob. What's up Scooby? Hi Scoob.
I'm actually reading that article on MSN.com. Uh-huh. Stimulus stuff. Uh-huh. But I want to comment on the Ashley After Show and the Mikey Minute. The Ashley After Show and the Mikey Minute, which I made a note to take a look at yesterday because I thought it was pretty funny and I didn't get to. I forgot after I saw my little note. I forgot. As Sky knows, I will. I'm very bad at that. What? But... The Mikey Minute is where we videotape Ashley every single day after the show to talk about how the show went, what happened on the show that day. A little review. A little review. And then the Ashley After Show is where Ashley actually takes a member of the show, interviews them, and asks them how they thought the show went that day. And you can find all of this at MikeyShow.com. So what did you think yesterday, Scooby? Pretty funny. I wanted to comment about that a couple days ago. I think it was Monday. Uh-huh. When I think Ashley kicked Eddie in the... That was yesterday. That was yesterday. That was funny when she kicked him in the neck. Yeah, it was hysterical. Yeah, Ashley...
It was with her hand, right? Or with her fist? No, it was her leg. Her leg? She swung her leg and it hit Eddie. I don't know why. They were both sitting on a couch and Eddie's sitting to her left. Ashley swings her right leg over and her foot hits Eddie in the testicles. It was completely an accident. Hard. Like seriously, I felt really bad. What the beauty of it was is that it was all very real and happened right in front of us. The look on Ashley's face was priceless. It felt really bad. Please go to MikeyShow.com. If you want to see something simply amazing. She just likes to destroy things, Eddie. I laugh when I get nervous. Your rocks were what she decided she was going to destroy. Thank you. Thank God I already impregnated my wife. So Stephen King says that the person that wrote the book Twilight... Can't write. Oh, wow. Oh, my God. Yeah, get him. Trash talk in the book world. Wow. So when we get back. Author smack talk. I'm going to play you what he said coming up next. Ever since I can remember, I wanted to be a gangster. Yeah, Henry Hill. Henry. It is 639. Welcome back to The Mikey Show. And if you want to call us and.
and hear our voice right there on the phone and say, you can call us at 570-1053. That's our phone number. Do it. We would love to hear from you. Do it. So, before we went into break, I said when we came back we were going to tell you about this Stephen King deal. That's crazy. I know, man. Stephen King apparently got some very strong opinions about the author of the Twilight series books. Yeah. Which is, like, huge right now. I mean. You know, next to, like, the Harry Potter books, I think it's, like, the next biggest franchise, the Twilight books. Yeah. Well, and it's funny that you say that because Stephen King is actually comparing the writer of Twilight to the writer of Harry Potter, Stephanie Meyer, to J.K. Rowling. Does he not like her either? No. He's making a comparison and says, the real difference is that J.K. Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephanie Meyer can't write worth a damn. She's not very good. Oh, tell us how you really feel. The vampire, right? You saw him on the same page. Yeah, but, you know, regardless of what Stephen King thinks, it's making billions of dollars. Yeah, I wonder what his, like, what he bases it on. Like, you know.
He doesn't like her grammar. I agree with him. I feel like the Twilight series are... You've never seen one of them. Never read one of them. No, it's the poor man's Harry Potter. That's how I felt about all vampire things. You like them, Quimby? I read all four of them in seven days. Hello, nerd alert. They are so good. See what the recession's doing to people. Exactly. So good. How do people read? you know, four books. Like, you ever talk to those people that have, like, a real thick book, a real thick paperback, and they say, yeah, I was on a six-hour flight from here to New York and I read this book. I go, I always think to myself, first of all, you're lying. You did not. You skimmed it. You skimmed through it. You didn't read it. Because that's not possible. How do you do that? If you have a six-hour flight, I can see that happening. You can? Six hours in a, like... We're talking one of these books. Yeah, you know, well, nobody can see that, but Rob is like this. It's like this. It's like this. That's right. It's like a hamburger he's holding on. This isn't TV? No, it isn't. Should be. But, Skye, you could do that. Well, how many pages are we talking? Like, are you talking like 300 and something? Okay. Oh, boy, that.
300, no. 300? Dude, yes, I am not talking about a pop-up book. No, no, it's like 600. I'm not talking about a book with pictures in it. Yeah, I could probably do a 250 on a six-hour flight. 250, well, maybe. Yeah. Maybe. But let me tell you. Well, it's got to hold your attention for that long. Really? That's hard. Yeah, Nora Roberts, look into it, bro. Easy, Porto. You know, let me tell you, if I'm reading and I'm really, really interested and I'm going to impress myself, I can read like 40 pages and I'm like, I can't, I've set a new record for myself. I know I've set a new record. I know I have. Right. I don't get it. They're so good. P1 Kung Fu. Hello. How are you? Good. What's going on? I was just calling about the rebate checks. Oh, yeah, yeah. You do have to do it as income, but they might be also checking to see if you didn't qualify. This might pertain to Rob. If your income was too low, you may be able to qualify this year. I don't understand. What is that? Why? Why is it beeping like that? I don't know. Oh, no.
We got gremlins today. I was going to snap. Fergie's? Go ahead. So last year, if your income was too high or too low because it was based on your 1040 for 2007, they're giving you a second chance to collect based on your income for 2008. Like say you were unemployed the entire year and you worked for like a couple of days. Like you're not going to get a stimulus check. Right. Because you didn't really do anything to earn it. Okay. And so she's saying that if you can somehow get it in 2008 if you got a job or something like that. Right. Second chance income? Second chance income. Right. There you go. That's interesting. Thank you. You're welcome. Thanks Kung Fu. Let's see. P1 Kevin. Yeah. Your fiancee likes to read, right? Yeah, that's an understatement. What does she read? All four of those books in the last four days. Holy cow. Wow. Dude, how does she, in the last four days, she read four books? Yeah. That's amazing. How? She reads them in the morning when she wakes up. She reads them at lunch at work. And then she comes home and when we're laying in bed, she reads for like two hours. You know what I want? I want somebody, this is what I would love to do. I'd love to get your wife on the phone.
then I'd love to get somebody that has read those books to quiz her. It's fresh in her mind. She just read four. And I would love for somebody to quiz her and ask her questions. Tell me about blah, blah, blah. I want to see the retention. If I see that she's retained that, I would be so impressed. But I can't see how the human mind can read four books and any of that stay in your head. You're just like, you're not reading. To me, I don't know. I'd love to do the test to see. Unfortunately, she doesn't get up until 7.30. All right. And then she starts reading, so she's busy reading. All right. Well, thanks a lot, Kevin. All right. No problem. Appreciate the call. P1 Shadow. What's going on, Mikey? I'm good, bro. I was calling about that stimulus package. I'm a Marine, and I did my taxes a couple days ago, and they actually do take that $600 out of your tax return. I actually watched them do it, and they were asking me if I have... had gotten the stimulus package. I told them I did. I just didn't remember how much it was. And so they looked it up. And as soon as they looked it up, I saw my tax return drop from $1,000 to $400. Now, the only thing that I, well, where did you go to get your taxes done? On base, on Camp Helden, too. You did it at like a, I mean, like a company there on base? No, no, a free tax return.
service the military provides. The military provides a free tax service for you? Something ain't right. That seems weird, man. Something ain't right, dude. And it's not like you made too much money and you shouldn't have got the check? It was in the military, Scott. I don't know. I don't know how much they make. Not that much. Yeah, something ain't right about that, dude. Something's not right. And we've had a lot of tax preparers calling us this morning saying, that ain't right. And it's not just the military that we're talking about here. It's anybody that received those checks last year in the mail from the government. You know what I mean? Rob, you got one, right? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ash, did you get one? And hopefully you guys went out there and poured it back into the economy. Awesome. At the track, Rob did. The dog track. Exactly. Dog track. In my backyard. That's right. You built one. I had two in the black dog.
So Eddie went to a restaurant last night, and it wasn't the greatest, right? Well, we walked in, and immediately you were hit with the aroma of feet. What are you saying? No, Eddie, that's a good cheese. Feet. Are you sure it wasn't Gouda? No, it smelled like feet, like bad feet. And so the wife and I looked at each other, and we're like, oh, no, what do we do? Walk out? Maybe it was a special. You know, we got seated. You walked right out. We got seated right away. Well, of course you did. It smells like feet. No one else wants to eat this. That's right. There were people in the restaurant. They all had their shoes off. Oh, my gosh. It was a famous footwear, which I thought was a little strange. Oh, wow. No, so we sat there, and they were busy, so nobody came over to us for like 10 minutes, which was, you know, that's bad in itself. But the fact that the smell was still in the air, I looked at her, and she's like, well, what are you going to get? And I'm like, I'm going to get the hell out of here.
I go, I'm serious. Let's sneak out of here. And it's so awkward. And so I go, let's just make a break for it. No way. And we did. We got out of there before the server came over to take anything. And everybody in the restaurant gives you that look like, oh, where are they going? And I'm just like, just keep your head down and keep moving, babe. Just get out of here. And so we bailed. That is so gross. It was gross, man. I don't know what it was, but it was not cool. Eddie said that he didn't even remember the name of the place. I don't know. I don't know what it was. Oh, you don't? No. Because it's like we, you know. We went to, like, downtown La Mesa, which is, like, all, like, antique places and small little places to eat and stuff like that. So it was one of these small places that we had seen before that we wanted to try. Nothing's worse. What kind of food? It was, like, American. Oh, okay. It was a feet fusion place. Yeah. Feet fondue. Did you go across the street to Trotsky's? You know, I did, baby. So much flair over there. P1 Reed is on the line. Hi, Reed. Hey, how's it going?
Good, man. Yeah, I was just calling about, you were talking about how you don't understand how people can read so fast. Uh-huh. Well, I was reading that, I was reading, the human brain can actually absorb a word in as little as like a quarter of a second. What happens is people, when they read, they usually say the word out loud to themselves, but you don't actually have to do that, and that can take a lot longer. So when people are reading really fast, they can just... Hey, Reed, what do you mean about the say the word out loud? You know, if you're reading a book... and whatever it says in your head, you're actually saying the word as you look at it. See, that's how I read. That's how I read. I can only read at the speed in which I talk. Yeah, because I took a speed reading class and they said the same thing.
Eddie, you don't need to laugh out loud in her face. Well, I think it struck him as unusual. He had no idea. Was that at the senior center? Wait a second. We're finding something new out. We didn't know this. Skye, when did you take said speed reading class? Let's see. Or is this with a bunch of little kids? Oh, I bet that sounds like fun. It was fun, wasn't it? I think it was, gosh, I took it with my mom. Oh, Skinner. You know my mom likes to take different classes. Wow. I want to say I was like a junior in college when I took it. Where? It was like one of those. Yeah. Dish, dish, dish. You are the best. Whatever's coming next is going to be good. It was held after hours at the middle school I used to attend in one of their portable classrooms. Are you serious? Like a trailer? Like one of those trailers with the big air conditioners built onto the side of it? Yeah, it's like an adult education. But my point is they said the same thing most people read by actually saying the word in their brain. You say it silently. Oh, boy.
But your brain is actually capable of reading faster if you just stop saying the word and you just absorb it. I refuse to do that. I don't care. I can't. I like to say it in my head. It's like telling myself a story. I'd like to read fast, though, wouldn't you? No. I enjoy taking the time. Does Rob do anything fast? Rob, what if you could accomplish the same thing? No. Mike, sometimes I'll read the same chapter over again just to... experience it again. Really? Yeah, I do that. Can't you do the same thing but just do it faster? Why? I'm in no rush. I'm reading. Why are you in a rush when people are reading? You're reading a book. You're sitting like, yeah, I want to be the fastest reader. Oh, that's awesome. Wow, you finished that book in a day? Get out of here. No. Rob doesn't want to do that. I take my time. I enjoy reading. It's a vacation for my mind. Wow. No, I've never really heard that. For sure I've never heard that. Who put this up there? You did. You put it up there. Kenny Wayne Shepard, Blue on Black. Here is the question that I want to pose to the Oracle when we get back. I want to ask the Oracle, Eddie, I'm dying for... I almost want... I'm going to say this before I ask the question. If this answer is not positive, will you lie to me? I never do this, but I'd like to...
I don't feel right about that. Eddie. I don't feel right about that. I'll help you. I need you to make me feel good. Okay, we'll see. What is the question? The question is, will the new Padres owner fix the team? Eddie, don't do that. Don't do that. I'll tell you when we come back. And then I'm also going to be telling you about a guy that was arrested after putting 911 on hold so he could make a drug deal. That's next. Ladies and gentlemen, you're listening. To the Mikey Show. 731. Welcome back. So, before we went to break, I told you that we were going to be telling you about this guy that was making a 911 call. And this is maybe the... I think I've heard the stupidest stuff ever. And then I hear something and I go, I guess I haven't. What happened? So this 20-year-old guy called 911 to report that two men with guns were watching him. But then ended up hanging up. Well, when you hang up on 911, they automatically call you back. So he hung up. They called him back. And when the dispatcher called him back, he said, oh, yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Hold on one second. And put the phone down. And, you know, again, if you ever call 911, all calls are recorded.
So he is heard on the line saying, and being recorded, saying, what you need? A 10-pack? A 10-pack? All right. And I guess, according to the police, a 10-pack is slang for a bundle of heroin. Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? So the dispatcher heard this, knew what that slang meant, contacted it to the police. The police went out there, got the guy, and he had drugs on him. It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Awesome. Good times, huh? So, Skye, talk to me about this sheriff in South Carolina. Well, the Michael Phelps thing, if you hadn't heard, Michael Phelps... broke over the weekend that a picture was released of him smoking a bong at a party in South Carolina back in November. And so Michael Phelps came out and apologized for it, and his sponsors seemed to not really have a problem with it. The Olympic Committee doesn't really have a problem with it. Smells like horse. But there's been talk. That's the good stuff. Really? Good stuff smells like horse? Oh, yeah. Okay, I didn't know that. And so the sheriff in South Carolina has been asked, well, are you going to press charges? And he says that it's there.
obligation as law enforcement to investigate this matter and that basically if they find out that he did break the law he'll be charged in the same manner as anyone else and that the sheriff has a responsibility to be fair and to enforce the law and to not turn a blind eye just because somebody is a celebrity well it's going to be tough for michael phelps because michael phelps apologized For letting people down. But he didn't specifically say that he was smoking marijuana. He just said he let people down. But why would he be apologizing for doing something legal? But he didn't actually incriminate himself. Maybe he could claim it was tobacco and it gave the wrong impression. That's true. You could say, hey, I shouldn't have been smoking out of something that looks like it's used for something illegal. Exactly. So in South Carolina, possession for one ounce or less of marijuana is a misdemeanor that comes with a fine of $200 and up to 30 days in jail for the first offense. And then a second law is possession of drug paraphernalia, which is a $500 fine.
What are you doing, man? Hey, man, check that out. That's crazy. Hey, I'm Tyrone. And I'm Tortilla. And together we're at a Tyrone Tortilla Show. Now, check it out, man. We're just a couple of friends that live right here in San Diego, just like you, man. What's the matter with that? You're all right. Deal with it. I'm a black guy. My friend Tortilla over there. I'm Hispanic. He's Hispanic, man. Latino. I'm loco. Hey, let me ask you something over there, Tortilla. What's up? Hey, man, you ever get in trouble like Michael Phelps been caught doing something that you shouldn't and that embarrassing thing happened to you, man? Oh, well. Like what, man? Well, I was once caught with a John Tesh album. I'll never live that down. You had a John Tesh album? Yeah, I don't want to talk about it. It's kind of embarrassing to us. But not even equal. That's kind of weird. It's really embarrassing. Why do you have that, man? I don't want to talk about it, I said. Stop it. Can I borrow it? No. Do you want to borrow it? Well, he don't have it, so he can't love it. I don't have it. Okay. That's what I'm saying. Okay.
What? Hey, Tortilla. What's up? Speaking of, let me tell you something, man. Yeah. I used to party with Michael Phelps. What? You did? Yeah, man. He was a lightweight, though. What? Yeah, he'd sip on a sea breeze all night and be wasted by the end of the night. I guess he stepped it up a little bit. You know what I'm saying? Oh, that's crazy. Sea breeze. Hey, speaking of drinks, man. Speaking of drinks, dude. Why does it have to be a white Russian? There ain't no black people in Russia? Oh, that's a good point, man. What's up with that, dude? I don't know. What am I missing here, Tortilla? That's bad. Shame on you, Russia. I don't think it's racist. I don't think it means anything. What the heck? Come on, you're reading into it. Hey, hey, dude. That dude can swim like a fish and drink like one, too. Let me tell you something, man. I used to party with Michael Phelps, and I saw him swallow a whole 40, man. What the heck? A guy's part camel, dude. Holy moly. Jugs are crazy. Listen, I once saw Michael Phelps running through my hood in just his Speedo. What? He was eating leaves off trees. It was crazy, man. Eating leaves.
That is weird. Why would he be doing that? Hey, man, I used to party with Michael Phelps, too. You did? Yeah, that guy used to get seriously stoned and pass out at my lowrider. No. It was disgusting because he had, like, a serious drooling problem. Really? Try and imagine if a St. Bernard made a baby with a llama. Yeah. And that was Michael Phelps. That's disgusting. He's drooling everywhere. That's a weird mix. Hey, Tortilla. Yeah, what's up, man? Hey, I got a Michael Phelps. I have a soap song for you, man. Okay. Check this out. Oh, my God. Beautiful. Yeah. You ran away with my Sean John pantsuit, white boy. Who do you think you are, man? Hey, good money for that thing at the Kobe swap meet. Give me that thing back, dude. I got a song, too. Let me hear it. Oh, my God. You ran away with my pipe. Oh, wow. Give it back, man. That's not cool. What's up with that?
Wow, he's a klepto. Who knew? What's up with that? Yeah. Hey, tortilla. Yeah, Tyrone. Hey, man. Is that a gold medal around your neck? Yeah, dude. Check it out, man. Boston Rob was selling them out of the trunk of his car. He was? Allegedly. Allegedly. It smells a little bit like the bottom of my shoe mixed with old cheese, but it was only $10. He gave me a free shot of NyQuil as a party. Congratulations, Boston Rob. It was pretty cool. I allegedly have some more. Oh, allegedly. Hey, Tyrone. Yes? There's stuff about Michael Phelps. to make sense to me now, man. Is that right? Hey, listen. Last year, I walked into his place and his Speedo was over his face and he was trying to attach it to a vacuum hole, man. Why was he doing that? I don't know, dude. Hey.
Tortilla? Yeah. What are you doing, man? Well, now that you mention it, I remember something, too, that is only making sense now. What, man? I remember one time I showed up at the dude's house to party. Yeah. And he opened the door, and his eyes were barely, like, open. I remember telling the dude that he better cut those kind of jokes out before he goes to Beijing. Oh, my God. I think I see what you do. Hey, man, you get in trouble for that stuff. 747, welcome back to the show. Sky, what do you think about the Obama story that's all over right now with Obama and Daschle and all this stuff? I think he's awesome. I think he is a human being, and I believe that he doesn't have a big old ego, and he can admit when he makes mistakes. Don't you think a guy with experience wouldn't have made those mistakes? I think everybody makes mistakes, Eddie.
I think we're humans. I'm listening to these clips, Sky. And they can admit it instead of just keep trudging forward and keep going without even... Like Chaney still thinks he did the right thing. Well, listen. I was listening to these clips. And... Hey, Ashley, can you do me a favor? Hit a nice B note for me and just carry it out and sustain it. Sky, you were right. I just wanted to say that with something underneath it so that it can't be pulled. It can't be pulled. No, we can pull that. We can pull that. Ashley, go ahead and write that one down. That clip cannot be pulled. Write that one down, Ash. Muddled. No, believe it or not, I was listening to these clips, and I agree. I mean, I think that in terms of making a mistake, Obama responded to it in the best possible way you can. How do you prevent the lesson from being that no matter how lofty the goals of the new guy coming in, Washington wins in the end? Well, no, I don't think Washington wins. I mean, look, the fact of the matter is Tom Daschle pulled out today. And I'm here on television saying I screwed up. And that's part of the era of responsibility is not never making mistakes. It's owning up to them and trying to make sure you don't repeat them. And that's what we intend to do.
Amen. You're beautiful. I like that. What he's referring to, if you don't know, is he appointed a couple people to his cabinet who it turned out had like tax problems, like didn't pay taxes and kind of did some shady stuff. And so he's now saying, you know what? I was wrong in appointing those people. I love it. You love it? Now, see, again, I don't understand this. If you make a mistake and you are honest about it and you're accountable, that sounds cool. Do you love it? Do you love that he's making mistakes? No, no, no. I love how he's reacting to the mistake. I love that he's acknowledging it, acknowledging full responsibility, and being accountable. I do have to point this out. That when the Daschle stuff first came out, he was supporting him, sticking behind him, and saying, you know, this is great, this is great, this is great. Now, eventually it got to a point where he couldn't say this is great when Daschle resigned. And so in one respect, he was sort of put in a position where what are you going to do? But he said what he said, and I like what he said. I think what he said was actually a stand-up thing to say. Look, ultimately, I campaigned on changing Washington and bottom-up politics.
I don't want to send a message to the American people that there are two sets of standards, one for powerful people and one for ordinary folks who are working every day and paying their taxes. Do you feel you've lost some of that moral high ground, which you set for yourself on day one? Well, you know, I think this was a mistake. I think I screwed up, and I take responsibility for it, and we're going to make sure we fix it so it doesn't happen again. There you go. I guess this is the best you could do, right? Good man. He's a good man. He is a good man? It's very different from our previous administration. Now, why would you have to take a shot at the previous administration? Well, I'm just saying it's like night and day. I mean, they still today won't admit their mistakes. I mean, the body's in the ground already. That's not true. You know what I mean? That is not true. In George Bush's exit interview, he admitted to many mistakes. Yeah, to the mission accomplished banner. Like, I mean, mistakes that actually matter. They liberated a country. They did? Yeah. Yeah.
They liberated Iraq. Well, I mean... No matter. Anyway, moving on. Yes, have you got another clip there, Mike? Have you had a cigarette since you've been to the podcast? Oh. You know, I haven't had one on these grounds. Sometimes it's hard, but I'm sticking to it. You said on these grounds. I'll let you pass on that. Well, of course you will. It's Barack Obama. Of course you'll let him pass it. It's CNN. It's CNN. You're Anderson Cooper. Of course you'll let him pass it. Oh, he's a great man. Let me tell you. If that was any Republican. Well, okay. It's interesting that you say on these grounds. So does that mean? What magazines do you read? Yes. Please. All right. Well, we need a little lift me up. How about Cheaters Hotel? What do you guys think? Oh, wow. Well, wait. How is that a lift me up? Pick me up. How is that opposite? Talk about a good man. Well, here is how Cheaters Hotel works. You write us an email, okay? You write us an email and you let us know what you are suspicious of.
You got somebody in your life, a husband or a wife, a boyfriend or girlfriend that you are suspicious of. If you do, you write us an email. Go to MikeyShow.com. And what we'll do is Cheaters Hotel will call the person. We'll tell the person that we are calling from a fictitious high-rise hotel here in San Diego. Sounds nice. It does. It really does sound nice. And what we'll do is we will offer you a free night. We'll offer this person of yours that you're suspicious of a free night stay. And we'll tell them that we're going to leave a gift basket with them. And all we need is the name of their guest to go on the gift basket. And if they say your name, then things are usually good. If they say somebody else's name, then things are usually bad. Because usually if you're in a relationship with somebody and they're offered a free night stay at a hotel, they are not giving someone else's name for a card. They're usually giving your name. You would hope. You would hope. P1 Annette is up this week. Annette, how are you? I'm okay. How are you? I'm good. I'm good. Annette, I'm going to get some information from you for our listeners, okay? Okay. First of all, how old are you? And is this your husband or your boyfriend that you're suspicious of? But we've been living together for like two years now. What's his name? Kurt. Okay.
And how old is Kurt? All right. How did you guys meet? Through, like, some mutual friends. It wasn't just, like, a random guy to borrow. We were all sort of a group of people there. What's up, Plum Crazy? Eddie's assuming that. Yeah, Margarita Ross. Yeah, what's up? We're back. Eddie and Rob just popped and lost. What's wrong with that? It was weird. Party with Blue. Okay. It's not about you right now. My boy. Annette. Annette, how long have you been dating Kurt? We've been together two years. Two years? Why are you suspicious? God, I was doing laundry, and there was a movie stub in his pants, but the movie was, um, which, like... What? Oh, that'd make me suspicious. And you didn't see it with him? No, I didn't see it. He was a sensitive guy and all, but I seriously doubt that he would be going to see Pride Wars.
Wow. Interesting. Skye, if you found that, you would be... Eddie, stop laughing. Well, yeah, because... Well, first of all, if I found any movie stuff, I'd be suspicious because we go to the movies together, you know, so it'd be weird for him to go to the movies with somebody else and me not know about it. But secondly, for it to be Bride Wars is like... That's a chick flick. What are you doing? Well, let me ask you something. You are suspicious, and have you asked him about it? I haven't asked him about it yet, but he has been acting really funny. Like, I don't know. He's been more tired. He's been a little short with me lately. Been watching Martha Stewart. Manicures. All right, let's all calm down a little bit. Do you? Okay. Okay. Now she's in on it. Yes. No, you go. Do you know him to like these kinds of movies? What kind is that again? Yeah, what kind, Mike? Chick flicks. I mean, I don't know if he's vocal. I'm liking these kind of movies. That's for sure. Okay, now talk to me about overall suspicion of him.
Does he have a You've Got Mail poster up in the bedroom? What I meant was, is he reading a Nora Roberts book right now? Have you been suspicious of him in general? Has there been times where you've been suspicious of him? No, I'm really seriously not a jealous person. I really have had no reason to be suspicious of him. I mean, we live together, so it's like, you know, I wouldn't expect anything like that. Wait, what movie was that again? Well, okay. I have a question real quick. Go ahead. Annette, so does he ever go to movies without you? Maybe is there a group of friends he goes with? Or is he the kind of guy that maybe goes to movies by himself every once in a while? Yes, I think he goes to the movies. I think he's gone to the movies with some of his buddies before. Because I'll be busy and my schedule's weird and he likes movies. But they usually go see action movies or whatever. Just some big Oscar contender or something, but not like Bride Wars. Okay. Yeah, that's a pretty, you know. I don't know. I heard Anne Hathaway was a hit. She's delicious. All right, well, here's what we're going to do, Annette, okay?
We're going to put you on hold, and I'm going to call him, and I'm going to offer him a free night stay at a hotel. And at that point, I'm going to tell him that he gets a free gift basket, okay? Now, I'm going to ask him what name he wants us to put on the gift basket. If he says Annette, we're good to go. If he says another girl's name... Or another guy's name. No. Then we're probably not. Barry. Okay. Barry? I'm scared. And so when we come back, that's what I'm going to do, okay? Okay. Are you ready to do it? Yeah. Goodness. All right, don't go away, okay? Okay. Hang on. Don't chicken out. That's so little out there. Wow. When we come back, that's what we're doing. We're calling it. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It's 8.06, and we are in the middle of Cheaters Hotel. This one is a little bit different. A little bit, Mike. Yeah, it's a little bit different. It has a hint of fruit in it. You will. Would you be cool, Rob? What? Be nice, you guys. Are you there, Annette?
Yeah, I'm here. Okay, Annette was going through her boyfriend's. She was doing laundry. She was emptying pockets, and she found a receipt to the movie Bride Wars. I can't go see a movie without being persecuted on the radio. I just don't understand it. You're the one making fun. Oh, yeah. What? And so what we're going to do is she thinks that there may be something going on. Wow. Odd, a little suspicious. That's a little suspicious. A little suspicious. Any way you slice it, it's a little suspicious and weird. It definitely is. What we're going to do, Annette, is we're going to call Kurt, and we're going to say that we're calling from a hotel. We're going to offer him a free night's stay, and we're going to offer him a free gift basket at the hotel. Now, we're going to ask him what name he wants on there, and if he says your name, then it's probably a pretty good sign. If he says somebody else's name, it's probably a pretty bad sign. Okay? We want to hear him say, Annette, if he says something other than Annette, do me a favor. Don't curse. And once I tell him that it's me, you're allowed to jump in and talk. Okay? Okay. Are you ready? I'm ready. Here we go. I did not go through. Oh, no. That's not a good sign, Annette. No, it is not. It's not a good sign. Now, here we go.
I need you quiet. Hi, could I please speak to Kurt? This is Kurt. Kurt, how are you, man? My name's Steve. I'm calling you from the Orion Hotel. We're San Diego's newest premier high-rise hotel. We're located in the heart of the gas lamp. How are you this morning? Hi, man. Well, somebody that you know entered your name into a drawing to win a friend a free night stay at our property, and we're very excited to tell you that you were selected, and congratulations. You get to stay at the hotel. You get to stay with us as our guest at the Orion Hotel. It's brand new in the gas lamp, and there's no purchase necessary. So this isn't a telemarketing call or anything like that. You actually won a free night stay, and you don't have to buy anything in order to win. What we do need to inform you is that there is a non-transferable gift, and upon check-in, you're going to need to pay.
place a credit card on hold for any incidentals like in-room movies or entertainment or minibar or any food charges, things of this nature. All right, so free room, but you're not going to cover the minibar. All right, I got it. Exactly, exactly. And so, hey, listen, maybe one of these days you'll win one, they'll give you the free minibar. But this time we've got to go with you've got to cover your own booze this time. Now, you're going to have... Kurt, you're going to have 30 days to pick the night of your stay. So it'll be any time between now and the next 30 days. So you don't have to, it's not like you got to do it this weekend. You can pick it any of the next 30 days. That would be convenient, actually. That's right. Now, here's what we're going to do. As an extended gift, we'd like to offer you a complimentary gift basket. There's no charge for it. It includes strawberries and champagne. It's a way to say thank you. And hopefully you'll be back. You'll come back. And stay with us again. And this strawberries and champagne gift basket will be in the room when you arrive. And we personalize a gift card for you with the basket. And we do that at absolutely no charge to you. So what name can we include along with yours on the card? No problem. Kurt, let me interrupt you and tell you.
This is Mikey. I'm calling from Rock 105.3. You're on the radio. And Annette, your girlfriend, is on the line right now. Annette, are you there? Yeah. Hi, Kurt. Kurt. Kurt. Let me explain what we're doing. What's going on? This is called... Yeah, and I've got to ask you to please watch your language. Don't say any bad words. But we're on the radio, and it's Rock 105. And my name's Mikey. I'm the morning host here. And we do a bit called Cheaters Hotel. And what we do is we call people when their spouse or their girlfriend or their boyfriend is suspicious that they may be cheating. And you called me. We called you because Annette wrote us an email and said she was suspicious. Baby, what? Tell them why, Annette. Tell them why. Annette, tell Kurt why. You know I'm not the suspicious kind, but I... I found a movie ticket to Bride Wars in your pants when I was doing laundry. She found a movie ticket in your pants, Kurt, to Bride Wars. It's a chick flick, bro. It's weird. I've never seen you. What's up, Kurt? Hey, Kurt. You found a movie ticket in my pocket. Really not the point anymore. Kurt, why did you go to Bride Wars? Kurt, can you tell us why that was in your pocket?
Because I went, and I'm really embarrassed to say now I'm on radio. Did you go by yourself? Yes. Awesome. Okay. It's America to each their own. I was going to see Taken, but I had to buy. No, you weren't. You liar. No, you weren't. I was going to see the Hulk. Hasn't been in theaters for 50 years, but I was going to see it. Going to see Scarface. It's double-featured Scarface and Goodfellas, but it canceled it at the last minute. I went to see Broadwars because it was like, next thing there. It's like, well, what's playing next? Let me get these resinettes. She was cheating and now made fun of her. No. Look what you're doing. I'm sorry. No, we love you. Why did you see Bride Wars? He said it was the only thing that was playing at the time. He had to kill time. Taken was sold out, he said. Why didn't we just go together? I would have gone with you. That would have been even cuter. I had time to kill. I don't know.
I've learned a thing or two. Oh, you are. Hey, Kurt. Were you going to do research? Hey, Kurt, how was Brideway? Yeah, talk about it. Is it as good as Sex and the City? I heard it was. How did Kate Hudson look? I heard it's great. That's great. It's great. He flew to San Francisco to watch it. That's great. Was it really good? I'm so sorry, Kurt. Kurt. Do I get a free hotel room out of all this? No, you don't. I'm not loving you the way I want it to. What I had to do Had to run from you I'm in love with you But the vibe is wrong And it haunted me All the way home P1 Center D Hey, what's going on, Mikey? What's up, brother? Hey, I just wanted to comment on the Cheater Hotel thing. Yeah, what'd you think? It was kind of fishy. I mean, I don't... I can think of plenty of better things to do to kill my time than go see a chick flick, but...
Do you think that maybe he was with a chick? Yeah, that's very possible. I would rather admit to cheating than going to see The Bridal Wars by myself. But remember Sean? Remember all the stupid movies Sean would see? I don't remember Sean. Too soon. Too soon. He would go to stupid movies. that he could have easily lied about, but I don't know. What would you have asked? What would you have asked? Yeah. And what he could have done instead of that. What if he says, I could have done anything? I could have done... I kind of, like, the excuse isn't that far-fetched for me. I mean, if you go to the movies because you need to kill time, and that's the only thing playing, like, what are you going to do, leave? Like, you know, two hours to kill. I saw a movie this weekend just to kill time. I went to see The Wrestler. But, you know. Hollywood, so you can always go there and kill time, and at least then you don't have to watch a chick.
So now I'm kind of confused with what you're saying. Are you saying that because he had that thing in his pocket and it was a chick flick and you think that there's plenty of other things to be doing that he was, in fact, cheating? How can the guy not get sensitive? Get in touch with his sensitive side. Go see a chick flick. Is that illegal? Why would I talk about it? Remember when Eddie saw the notebook? I'm a man's man. And cried. I'm a man's man. I'm a man's man. I do it with my girlfriend. I have my girlfriend present while I'm watching those chick flicks. Well, maybe he was embarrassed that she would judge him like you are right now. Let me ask you a question. Leave Kurt alone. Let me ask you a question, Senator D. Do you think that it's possible that dude just likes chick flicks? Hillcrest. Hey. You know what I mean? Yeah, it's possible, but he should move to Hillcrest then. All right. Oh, stop it. See, that's why he hit it in the first place. You're so judgmental. That's right. P1 Ender. Hey, what's going on, Mikey? What's up, Ender?
Did you notice how when you were saying that you have to select in the next 30 days, he got excited. He was just going to use us for Valentine's Day anyway. So, I mean, there's no way of knowing. Well, I mean, he said Annette, so... That's an interesting point. I don't understand. I mean, he said Annette. He got excited about his girlfriend, taking her to the... Well, you have to spend Valentine's Day with your girlfriend. Even if you are cheating, you have... You know, that's one day you can't go missing on. There you go. And he was licking his chops as soon as you said it. Which means that... He was doing the right thing, right? He wanted to use it for his gal. Yeah. But I see what this guy on the phone is saying. Are you guys saying something else? But he's saying any other day of the week he could be with the girlfriend. Oh, I get it, I get it, I get it. You guys are so... I'm not saying that. You are so... Dot, dot, dot. You are so dot, dot, dot. You are so dot, dot, dot. What does that mean? P1 Nick? Yeah, I just think you guys give him too much time to kind of plan a lie. Like when you ask the girlfriend what's his name and all that. He probably has plenty of friends as P1s that can call him and tell him what's the deal. Is there only one Kurt in San Diego? Well, the thing is, man, that if you're going to do it, there's only one way for us to do it, and that's to just do it. You know what I mean? And I don't know. A lot of times I think that our detector is up for if somebody is...
I personally got the feeling that he was telling the truth, because we can smell it sometimes, man. You can just smell it when somebody's backtracking, but I don't know. What do you guys think? I think the guy's an awesome dude. Sky, what do you think? Yeah, I believe him. I love chick flicks, so it's not hard for me to believe that other people do too. You are a chick, though. Whatever, they're great. That's the thing. P1DP. Hey, how's it going, you guys? Good. I was just calling him because usually when you go on a date with the girl, the guy, if he's a guy, is going to buy both the tickets and would hand both of them, I would assume, to the usher. Uh-huh. And then he would probably have both of them in his pocket. That's true. Great point. Yeah. I like you. That is very true. Have a good day. Hey, dude. You solved the mystery. That guy is like a detective. He is. He really is. You're a magnum PI. Wow. P1 Cat. Hey, guys. Good morning. What's up? I don't think anyone's thought about the fact that if this guy was cheating and it was like a first date or a one-time thing or even like an every now and then thing, do you really think that he would put her name on a gift basket for a hotel, especially around Valentine's Day? I don't think that was a very good way to catch him.
Well, we've had it happen before. I mean, not around Valentine's Day, but we've definitely had guys say other chicks' names many times before. Yeah, but Skye makes a good point. Because Skye's saying, like, hey, listen, Valentine's Day is your girlfriend. If you're a cheater, it has to be your girlfriend Valentine's Day. Right. You know what I mean? You can't really get around that. But I believe him. Leave him alone. Leave him alone. Come on already. All right. Let's check and see if he bought Slurpee or popcorn. Can we see the snack receipt? Because that tells you a lot. It tells you everything. What does that tell you? Oh, there's chick snacks and there's guy snacks. Yeah. Which are which? Churros or guy snacks. Definitely. Girls don't usually like churros. What? You know what I'm saying? Shut up, Eddie. Too messy. Cinnamon everywhere. So, Rod Bogoyevich. Yeah. Oh, by the way, I want to mention to you, too, we have MMA tickets that we're going to be giving away next hour if you want to go see the MMA event that's going to be going on on Friday night, which, by the way, one of our pew ones. Oh, it's tonight.
Tonight at the Palma Casino. I thought it was Friday. Gladiator Challenge. Tonight's the night, Mike. I bought phony tickets then. Oh, dude. This ticket that I have says Friday night. Rob just drew two guys fighting. Yeah, I know. And it's in crayon, though, which is really weird. You should have known. I probably should have known. It's tonight. It's tonight. So next hour, we're going to be giving those tickets away. Rod Bogoyevich. Oh, man. He goes on Letterman. Okay. What a choice. He goes on Letterman. Yeah, he did like a media blitz yesterday. He was on the Today Show, Larry King Live, on some Fox News shows, and then wrapped it all up with Letterman. Now, you know this guy. He's the governor that got impeached recently in the state of Illinois. He was their governor and he got impeached. And the reason he did is because he was trying to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat in Illinois. Allegedly. Allegedly. And so, and they've got him on tape. They have him on tape talking about it. And he's still saying, no, no, you don't understand, you don't understand. Well, he goes on Letterman. And I've said that I miss the old Letterman and what happened to the old Letterman and how come Letterman doesn't do the really get in there and dig in and say what he's thinking and all that kind of stuff. I take it all back. No. Yes. I take it all back. Get him.
I saw you on The View. I saw you on the Rachel Maddow show. I saw you on the Today Show. I saw you on, I think, every other show that is in production currently. And the more you talked and the more you repeated your innocence, the more I said to myself, oh, this guy's guilty. Oh, my God. Rocks. Okay, huge. Huge. Rocks. But my point is... In having such a high profile during all of this, you run that risk. Now, I'm not saying I'm everybody, but I had that impression. Well, I can appreciate your position, but consider a circumstance that might involve your life. Let's say, hypothetically, there was another guy who had a talk show on another station from Burbank. Let's say he came from New Jersey. And let's say he said you weren't funny and he had 20 reasons why your top 10 list sucks. Would you want him just to get away with that, or would you want to be able to say it simply isn't true? And I can just tell you that this is a very difficult thing that I've gone through.
Unimaginable, unexpected, unanticipated. And I assert my innocence because it is the truth. And the alternative is to sit in some corner, hide, cower in the fetal position, and assume and accept what people are saying that you did. And you didn't do it, and I didn't do it. And at the appropriate time, I'll have a chance to prove that. Right, right. So why not wait till the appropriate time? Well... I... I get that. Get him! Dude. Yes. How great is that? There's so many reasons why that's stupid. Yes. One, you just completely lost the audience. Yeah. Because they're there for Dave. They're not there for you, buddy. Sure. And two, one's a matter of an opinion. Thank you. One's a matter of an opinion, so it doesn't make any sense. Your analogy sucked. Well, yeah, his analogy was horrible and insulted Dave and his fans, but also he said the thing about how he didn't know it was coming. Yeah. Please, he was told that they were probably going to be tapping his phones, and he still had these incriminating phone calls. He's nuts. I mean, he was given a heads up. He's nuts. What does he mean? He's not a bright guy.
Why exactly are you here? Honest to God. Well, you know, I've been wanting to be on your show in the worst way for the longest time. Well, you're on in the worst way, believe me. Oh, my gosh. Dave, I love you. A million points. Whoa. That's huge. I figured I had to get impeached and thrown out of office to get a chance to get invited by you. Oh, my. Beautiful. They're stupid. So then he goes on Larry King. Oh, stop it. Yeah, so why were you doing weird stuff on the phone there, you? Is that real hair? Yes. So here he is. And Larry King, he wants to know. He asked some tough questions, too. Rod, if you were not selling the Senate seat, what were you offering? Great question. Great question. If you weren't selling the Senate seat, were you offering? Just curious. Those ambiguous statements, and you said taken out of context. In a sense, what were you telling those people when you were discussing the Senate seat? Larry, here again. They didn't allow...
They did not prove. Just tell me. What were you doing? You see, because he sees him about to step out of the ring. And he's like, no, no, no, get back in the ring. Get back in the ring. You must answer this. You tell me. Yes. If you weren't selling the seat, what were you doing? When the whole story comes out, there'll be a story that's very natural in politics, different discussions, different ideas, different potential candidates considered. Some ideas made sense. Some were stupid. All conversations. And at the end of the day, the story will be a lot of that. Conversation with Scott on the phone. Scott, I just called you. Hey, Scott, what are you doing? Nothing. Just hanging out with the cats. What's up? Hey, I have this opportunity. And just wanted to see what you thought about this opportunity. Yeah. The opportunity has to do with Shauna, our boss's job. Okay. And, you know, right now it looks like there's some pretty qualified people out there. And I know you might be interested in something like that. Well, yeah. You know, I always had aspirations to be a program director. Totally. You know that. Totally. Great job. Oh, my goodness. What would something like that be worth to you?
To me. Yeah, like how much do you think that's worth? I mean, just in terms of worth. Like what I think that opportunity is worth? Yeah, name stuff. I mean, what do you think, you know, like what, you know, what are you feeling here in terms of, you know, how important that would be? I mean, maybe. That'd be a cool job on there. Yeah, yeah. I mean, maybe if you'd like a car or. Oh, oh, oh. What kind of cars do you like? Just, you know, just if we're talking. Oh, are you changing the subject? Yeah, I'm glad you changed the subject. Yeah, like, have you seen the new 09s? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. 09 Lexus? You like that. Yeah, I'm just talking about that because you changed the subject. Well, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, the regular ones are the hybrids. Those hybrids are... You know, now that you mentioned, I kind of like that hybrid. Yeah. Yeah. Only because, you know, we're old friends. Well, and back to Shauna, how many... How many years would that contract be if, you know, her job were to come available? Oh, if the qualified person were to get it. Yeah, yeah. If the qualified person were to get it. How many years guaranteed would that be? I would say that it would be at least three or four year deal. Oh, wow. You know, and so, but anyway, let's talk business later. Let's talk about the cars again. Yeah, yeah. You get that car and driver magazine? Yeah, I got car and driver and I was taking a look at that thing and definitely that Lexus hybrid is the one that I like the most, but I can't afford one. Yeah, yeah. Page 86. Yeah, page 86.
Alright, and I'll talk to you later. Bye. I'm telling you, that's basically what they have. That's basically what they have. Yeah, I'm telling you, those calls are so incriminating. And so to answer the question, OK, well, what did you mean? What did you mean? Here again, what they did with this impeachment was they took allegations. They didn't prove any of them. They were not required to prove any of them. And then they didn't allow me to disprove them. And I would have brought every witness that I that was brought into the criminal case. I would have brought in everybody and anybody. What he would have done is brought. I would have. brought Skye in. Yeah, of course. Because she didn't want to get in trouble either. And so I'd say, Skye, what were we talking about? And Skye would say, yeah, we're talking about cars. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're talking about cars. We're friends. Yeah, we like cars. We both like cars. We're talking about cars. I mean, what is the person going to say? They've been criminating themselves. Anybody I ever talked to about the Senate seat from congressmen to senators to labor leaders to potential candidates.
I was prevented from doing that. And then they decided that they were going to do the political thing that they did. And it was something I predicted. And now it's a situation where they have set a dangerous precedent where the will of the people can be undermined and hijacked by a legislature that has its own agenda that's all about politics and not doing what's right. That's a lot of words. Just talk. That's all I'll do. Look over here. That is... Dave's right, man. The more that guy talks, the more guilty he sounds. For sure. It's better to not say anything. Brutal. I think sometimes, too, you might get into a situation where you don't really get how everyone else is perceiving it. He may, in his mind, think to himself, I think I got people here. I think people are really kind of getting. That I didn't do this. This is going well. This is going really good. This is going well. And I met Dave Letterman. Yep. Bonus. I'm thinking of booking some more shows. Oh, yeah. Why not? Well, the more I go out there and tell people I'm not guilty, the more they'll believe me. The more people will be on my side. Definitely. This is going so good. Definitely. What a nut. By the way, Rob said...
Off the air that he saw the man versus wild Eddie and thought what you and I thought. We kind of thought that we're missing the wow factor. Yes. Where is the wow factor? It was sad. What's going on? I have to say I was entertained. I wasn't not entertained. It's like pizza. It's always good. Very good. And I thought it was the most physical demanding. One, he's done yet because he did a lot of climbing and like climbing out of canyons up vines and crazy stuff. If he keeps saying stuff like, you know, well, when I took this on, it didn't look like this. But now that I'm only halfway up and I'm and I'm having to take a break. And, you know, he says stuff like that. And it's genuine. You can tell he's struggling, you know, but but there's no like. biting the head off a snake and eating it. And there was no. Yeah. Do you notice now that as man versus wild is beginning and they're showing the open to the show, you're seeing more exciting things in the open than you do in the actual episode. Yeah. Because they're showing old.
You know, clips of what he's done. The craziest thing he ate was a tarantula, which, you know, for the average guy is kind of gross. But I mean, dude, as you're watching him, I've seen people eat tarantulas before. It didn't like blow me away. Well, yeah, you've seen guys like Andrew Zimmer eat worse candy. But what I haven't seen Andrew Zimmer do is kill a snake with his hands, cut its head off and then take a bite out. Right. No way. No way. We've seen Bear Grylls do that. There was no giant pus-filled mango worm that burst out of his mouth. Yes. Like he bit into a water balloon. All right. Filled with pus. Yes. Please smell it. I'm telling you. Where is that? And I don't care if they have to bring him back to the most dangerous places that he's been where the craziest stuff happened. Do it. 14 episodes in a row. Dude, keep dropping them off then. New stuff's going to happen. I'll take like Africa 2. You know what I mean? Absolutely, dude. Bear does not get so thirsty that he takes elephant dung anymore.
and squeeze it. No, he was using a cactus and a water vine. I'm like, dude. I'm not watching you to really figure out how to survive. I'm not doing that. I want to see you do crazy stuff, Bear. That's why we watch. I want to see you catch something with your hands. I want to see you eat a four-day-old zebra. Yes. Cut open a camel. And sleep in it. Yes. Yes. He did that. That's what he does. Dude cut open a camel. Roast out. Emptied it out and slept in it. Drank the juices that are stored in camels first. Oh, dude. Then. He did. Yeah. You have to. Remember he cut open one of the camel's stomachs, took out hay that was in the camel, and said, there's plenty of moisture in here. And if you get thirsty enough, he's squeezing it. And he's like. That's insane. Every episode of Man vs. Wild used to be a YouTube clip. Yeah, very much so. And now it's kind of like, this season has been, there's no wow factor. There's no wow. It's still fun. There's some extreme stuff in it, but it's not. Nowhere near where it was. What happened with Ashley and the Wasp yesterday was probably more of a Man vs. Wild moment than what we're seeing Bear Grylls do.
That was really crazy. It was a real close one, guys. It was awful. It was a real close one. Did she make it? Wasn't actually her. Wasn't actually her that was at Jeopardy, right? Was it Sky? Did she get bit again? It was not Skye. My child was in danger and I had to rescue her from this... Never refer to her again as your child. Never refer to her again as your child. I don't want anything to do with this. No, you're not. Hang on a second. Tell us what happened. It was insane, Mike. Whatever this is is not insane. It's probably one of the craziest things I've ever experienced in my life. I'm going to tell you right now. When she describes it, she says that she screamed. When this happened, she started screaming. Well, we should say going into this that she kind of has a bit of a phobia when it comes to bees and wasps. One time I crashed my car. One time I accidentally went topless on the beach because I was tanning my back. And then the bee went straight for my face. We should probably save that one. You should probably save that one. You should probably save that one.
But, you know, and I was topless. I liked the descriptor. I was topless because I flailed my arms up and freaked out because the beak. We get it. Yes, we do. Anyways, yesterday I got home from work. So it's topless again. Yesterday I got home from work and. And Sammy and I are hanging out and watching our programs and listening to podcasts. And, like, she goes outside. It's very lonely. It's so sad. It's my life. It's fun to listen to sometimes. It is sweet. This is my life. Can somebody ask her on a date? Oh, no, I'm fine. I prefer it this way. I'm very happy. And so Sammy, all of a sudden, goes outside her doggy door. And she's, like, batting at what looks like a beetle. It was huge. I'm on my couch looking outside. A beetle. To the patio. And I can see it from here. It looks like a cricket. Or a beetle. But it's not hopping, so it's not a cricket. Paul McCartney. Did Rob just say Paul McCartney? That's really weird. Which beetle did it look like? And it had wings. Did you get it? That's a good one. That's a good one. So anyways, I go, Sammy, I go, leave it. And she's batting at it, and it's limping. I go, Sammy, leave it. And she kind of looks at me, and...
She goes back to swatting it. So I go, Sammy, leave it. And she looks at me, goes back to swatting it. We're working on this. And so I walk up, and to get a better look, as I get closer, I see it is a ginormous wasp. The biggest wasp I've ever seen in my entire life. Yay! It was huge, Sky. Well, how huge are we talking? I'm talking the size of, like, a beetle. It was like the size of a beetle. It was like the size of my pinky. So she started screaming. And so I start freaking out. And making a scene. And I go, Sammy, come here. Sammy, come here. Sammy, come here. I'm freaking out, and so she won't come to me. I don't get it. Like, why? Because one time, I had a golden retriever one time, and she got stung by a bee, and her entire face swelled up, and, like, we had to take her to the vet, and it was really dangerous. Well, Sammy is, like, half her size, and what if she's allergic to bees? It'll improve its face, trust me. Hey. She could die, you know? I'm freaking out, like, if she gets stung, and so I'm going, Sammy, come here, come here, come here, and she won't come to me. So you only had to say.
And so I unlock the door. I open the door. I'm barefoot. I run out onto the patio. I grab Sammy. I throw her inside. I'm screaming the whole time. I grab my Ugg. I put one Ugg on my foot. Stomp the wasp. I'm like, die, wasp! Die! She sounds nuts. She sounds crazy. I'm not kidding. I'm freaking out. She sounds crazy. I'm freaking out. Die, wasp! You watch too much MTV. Stop being on The Wasp like over and over and over and over. Oh, my God. So was Sammy okay? Dude, Sammy was inside looking at me like I was nuts. You know? Kind of like Rob and Eddie. And Sky. My neighbors probably heard me. I mean, I like freaked out. And then I took a picture. And then I couldn't upload the picture, so I couldn't put it on my blog. Well, we're really sorry, and we're glad that she's okay. Yeah, we're glad everyone's safe. That could have really gone bad. I am too. You know what I'm saying? She could have died. Hey, listen. The octuplet's mom is...
not getting showered with gifts. Oh, you mean Oprah didn't buy her like eight strollers? She is not getting showered with gifts. You get a stroller. Oh, and by the way, Raider fans and Charger fans, this will matter to you. They have a new head coach. Oh. That's nasty. You enjoy the clips that you hear of Ashley's mom here on the Mikey Show like we all do? Why are you sound so funny? Well, if you do like those clips, you can now play with them on your home computer or work computer. It's yet another way for you to waste time. All you have to do is go to Mikey show.com and check out the new Ashley's mom soundboard. It's fantastic.
It's fantastic. I enjoy playing with it myself. That's what she said. That probably wasn't supposed to be phrased in a way. So uncomfortable. Forget it. So uncomfortable. We'll just forget it. That's right. Forget it. Now, I told you before we went to break that Eddie was going to be giving you some information on The Raiders. Now, with the top sports stories of the day, it's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. Yeah, the Raiders have made it official. Before I get to that, let me give you a couple other stories that are going on right now. A urine sample that Barry Bonds submitted as part of Major League Baseball's anonymous testing program back in 2003 has come back positive for performance-enhancing drugs, according to the New York Times report. Really? How's it anonymous?
This is the weirdest thing. So I guess under the guidelines back in 2003, Barry passed this test. Okay. Okay. But they're trying to get him for perjury in his trial. And so Barry has said, I've never used performance-enhancing drugs except for this cream and clear that I didn't know were bad. Right. So if that's the case and he did test positive. for performance-enhancing drugs. Even though it wasn't relevant back in 2003, he still was using them. So that means that he lied under this perjury trial guidelines. That is bad. That is bad. So the court is overriding the anonymity. Pretty much. Non-aminity. Yeah. Yeah, that's the word. Yeah, nominominy. Nominominy. Nominominy. Exactly. Nominominy. So it could be bad for Barry. After being rejected by Manny, the Dodgers are turning their sights on Adam Dunn and second baseman Orlando Hudson. So they're trying to make some moves there.
David Beckham. David Beckham. Hot Tony. He's over in Italy right now. He's playing for AC Milan. Yeah, Milan. Yeah, Milan. He's on loan from the LA Galaxy because he wants to play over there in Europe. Well, he loves it there, and he wants to stay, and he doesn't want to come back to the LA Galaxy. What the heck? Really? Yeah. Are you serious? Now, this is what sucks. Boom, roasted. Yeah. The LA Galaxy, they own the rights to David Beckham, and we're cool, and we're like, yeah, you guys can borrow him until our season starts. But now Beckham's like, nah, I want to stay over here. I don't want to come back. And so now he's got his lawyers talking to the Galaxy about trying to work out a deal. Do you know what's up with his contract? He's owned by the Galaxy. The Galaxy owns the rights to him. So, I mean, he has to come back or else he won't be paid. Hey, dude. I was just looking up at my call screen right now. And just after you're done, I just want to let people know when Eddie's done with the sports dirt, apparently we're going to be talking to four.
of the eight octuplets. Holy cow. The famous octuplets. We were able to get four of them? Yeah, Peter, Stuffy, Nutsy, and Heather. Oh, okay, good. Yeah, Peter, Stuffy, Nutsy, and Heather are the kids, and they're on the phone, and they're waiting. That's huge. So it sounds like three boys, one girl is what we're getting today. We're going to get three boys, one girl, or are we getting two girls, one boy? I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. Who we've got there. So the Raiders, as we said, they make it official. They're naming Tom Cable, their interim head coach, as their new guy in charge. And he is going to lead the Raiders back to the promised land. Yes. Actually, that was the missing puzzle piece. Really, that's all they need. Tom Cable. Tom Cable. Watch out. To renew their commitment to excellence. Take that. I'm sure Raider fans are stoked and like, dude, we're back. That's right. That's right. Super Bowl. Super Bowl. Everybody must be really happy. Yeah. So, is that it, Eddie? Oh, yeah. Are you guys ready? Are you excited? Oh, I'm really excited. Wow. That's an exclusive yes. Sky, do you think that you would be able to maybe interview them? You're the journalist. Yeah, you're the journalist here. I've been reading up on the octuplets and their family. So, yeah, of course I could ask. I have a lot of questions that I'd like to ask the octuplets.
Um, are you there, Octuplets? Yeah, I'm here. Hello? Hello, Octuplets. Oh. Yeah, I'm here. Can you hear me? We're working out the kinks here. Hello? Uh, hello? What's up? Hey, Octuplet, I hear one of you. I hear the operator. I do not hear you. No, I don't hear Octuplet you. And I don't hear the female octuplet either. Oh, wait. Can you hear me? Oh, there's the female. Hello. Hi, little octuplet girl. These phones are hard to use. Yeah. Okay, so who do we have on the line here? My name is Peter. Peter. And I'm Stuffy. You're Stuffy? Yeah. My name is Heather. Heather. Okay, so we lost Nuts. Oh, Nutsie. Oh, Nutsie's back. The Y is silent. Oh, well, I thought... I mean, it's not. Oh, it's not. You actually do pronounce the Y. Wah! Wah! Wah! That's not... It's okay, you're babies. Wah! So thirsty. Okay, can I ask a question of you guys? I mean, it's an interview. Shoot. Somebody needs to burp Heather. Heather needs to be burped? Oh, she's so needy. Help me out here.
You're really great. Well, I'm a baby. I don't know how to birth you. Sorry. Mom! I'll pick my belly button. Okay. What are those? Weird. What do they do? I don't mean to be rude, but we're doing an interview here, guys, and normally the way an interview works is I ask a question and you answer it. Sorry, we're babies. Well, no, I know. This is our first interview. Well, I know. I'm just trying to explain to you that I ask the question and you answer it, okay? Has anybody seen my beanie? I'm ready. It's on your head. Thank you, Heather. Thank you for being a professional. Yeah, the Y is silent. So how do you guys feel about your father being a sperm donor? How does that make you feel? We were told that you weren't going to ask that question. You're so glib. Can you talk about our upcoming movie?
You have a movie? Yeah, we want to promote that. Okay. What is it? Vin Diesel's playing me. Yeah. I don't know who that is. I don't know. You're ridiculous. Jesse McCarvey was going to play me, but then Ammonite Shyamalan replaced him with the kid from Slumdog Millionaire. That's cool. Do you guys ever let Heather speak? I mean, she's your... Heather's sleeping. Wake up! I'm waiting for the question to be asked. Well, I asked about the sperm donor, Dad, and how you felt. This is the worst interview ever. Mm-hmm. Well, that's not an answer, Heather. Yeah, Heather, what do you think? Okay, maybe, okay, how do you guys feel? Listen, she's a little off her game. Oh, well, I'm sorry, Heather. It won't be like that this time. And Heather's hungry and needs to be burped. Sorry for the boys there. She ate a big dinner. Why is his name Nutsy? Very little messy. You guys, it's a silent Y. It's a silent Y. Okay, well, how do you guys feel about having so many other siblings? I mean, there's four more of you, and then there's six others at home. I hate it. I hate it. It's actually not that bad, because we just, the four of us got picked up by CAA. Really cool, Flying Tomato. Yeah, he gave me the video game, and just a really cool guy. He's very down to earth. Not what you would expect.
Well, why did only the four of you guys get picked up by agents? Well, we have dynamic personalities. You can see by Heather. I think I'm going in my pants right now. Uh-oh. That's really gross. Netsy, can we please? It's a silent Y. What's that? I'm going to ask VA to drop you. Why? Well, because she did. Yeah. You guys want to start a baby band? Maybe she has, like, narcolepsy or something. Wait, are you guys talking to me? Because I don't, I can't, I don't understand. Baby's in a baby shower. What? What? That's not nice. You guys should be nice to your sister. What are you guys saying right now? I'm smoking a cigar. That's me. These things usually make me constipated. What? What are you saying nuts? Yeah, what? Yeah? Well, it's kind of difficult with the cell phones. Maybe sometime we can have you guys in studio and maybe it'd be a little bit easier. We're actually booked on Jeff and Jared, so I don't know. Maybe we could stop by. Yeah.
After that, you guys can swing by. Yeah, we're doing the Mile of Babies. The Mile of Babies! It was really wonderful talking to you guys. No, totally. What about Heather? Thanks. What did you say? Hey, Sky, you did a great job interviewing. Well, I don't know what was tougher, that or my Maynard interview. I mean, they were both really difficult. That was exhilarating. Those are some diva babies. Let me tell you something. I really hope we can get the four of them back on sometime. We should do a daily segment with them. Maybe in studio. Yeah, maybe in studio would work better with the babies. It's sometimes hard to hear on the phone. Yeah, it is. It is. Well, what can you do? I have some other stories for you. Would you like to hear? Heather couldn't hear anything that was going on. How do you know? How would you know? How do you know Heather couldn't hear anything? That was what I got from it. You're taking a guess. She couldn't hear crap and was just winging it. What would you know? Do you want to hear why Johnny Knoxville, what happened when he had that grenade in his luggage when he was at LAX? Oh, man. Yeah, he explains it. I went to the airport and...
I accidentally had a fake grenade in my luggage. And I used to, you know, you hear about people going to the airport. Now, how does someone accidentally have, because what I actually saw is Johnny Knoxville stopped at the airport for having a grenade. It didn't even say fake grenade in his luggage. And I thought, you know, I've seen him. You know, he does some wild stuff, but I've talked to him. He's not insane. He wouldn't have a grenade. What happened? I, um, yeah. I did a commercial shoot a couple of days earlier for the Nitro Circus, and I took a bunch of props with me. And the grenade was one of the props. And when I left, the wardrobe girl packed my bag and put the grenade in the front pocket of the luggage, which I never look in. Luckily, the security at LAX found it. That's a bad idea. That's brilliant. Wow. That happens to me all the time. You should know when they're sticking stuff in your bag and exactly what they're sticking in your bag. I started to assume something was wrong when I saw one cop go up to the screen, two cops, three cops, four cops, and I was like, well, that can't be my belt buckle. Right. And then I thought what I'd been doing, and then I remembered, oh, I hope it's not that.
And I walked up at the screen and it looked like nothing but a grenade. Yeah. It was just the outline of a grenade. That's so crazy. And then I had to tell them, I said, well, obviously it's fake. Well, they don't know obviously. And so here comes the bomb sniffing dogs. Right, right. You know, but luckily they knew it was me and kind of, they didn't hit the button, which I'm glad. Yeah. You're also really lucky because most of us would be doing 10 years. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. For doing something like that. Right. Did you guys hear about the rocks on Wells Fargo? Oh, what? Okay, so the bailout goes, right? All the banks. Wells Fargo gets bailout too? Yeah, they got bailed out. They got $25 billion. $25 billion. Yep. So, listen, when you get that kind of money, what you do is you take the money and you restructure the company because these are tough times. And because we're in tough times, you know. Thank goodness the federal government steps in. They give you some money. And what you do is you take these tough times and you turn them around. And the way that you turn them around is by putting money in this area, investing in this, doing that kind of thing. And also by taking a whole bunch of your employees.
to Las Vegas to stay at the Wynn Hotel and the Encore Hotel. No, no, no. You take them there and you party. For about 12 days. For 12 days? What? Yeah. Well, so they got the $25 billion bailout, and I guess they do this annual thing where for 12 days they take all the top employees to Vegas. And I'm talking like lavish, like crazy times, like helicopter rides, wine tasting trips, horseback riding. One year they had a private... Jimmy Buffett concert just for the employee. Are you kidding? And so they get this bailout money and they're still planning their annual Vegas trip. And they come under fire for it. Well, we had a Christmas party in the lobby. Yeah, it was a potluck. It was a potluck. It was really cool. It was pretty cool. It was almost the same thing as the Jimmy Buffett thing. It was awesome. It was lavish. And so they came under fire for it and they started defending it. Saying, oh, well, we're not using any of the bailout money for that. We're just using the other money we have. Then why do you need bailout money? Right. If you have money for that, you don't need bailout money. And so they kept defending it, kept defending it, said they were still going. They're not doing anything wrong. And then finally the pressure got too great. And they just announced that maybe this year we won't do the Vegas stretch.
The Rocks. What is the matter with these people? The Rocks. Now, I saw it yesterday, right? I see the story yesterday, and it happened late. You know, the story is announced late yesterday afternoon. And I'm thinking to myself, which am I going to like less? Which am I going to like less? That they go, or that because it's a story, they immediately announce they're not going to go. Right. Which am I going to like? Because either one of them, I'm... Oh, yeah. It's bad on both fronts. Because if it didn't become a story, if we didn't put them under the microscope, they would have had no problem with their 12-day lavish Vegas trip. Which is what makes me crazy about them not going now. Yeah. And then if they had gone, I would have been like, the rock's on you going. Yeah, like you get to go see 2007 Entertainer of the Year, Danny Gans. We don't get to see that. We don't get to see that. Yeah, we're eating leftovers at home. Yeah. Thanks. Thank you. Wells Fargo. Great. Yeah, so that's the deal with that. Did you guys hear about the python that they found after an escape from a house in San Luis Obispo? Sky, this is what bit you.
Yes. This guy could be. You're bites. Well, no. I knew it, and you're allergic. Yeah, we figured it out. We were doing some tracking you could have got from San Luis Obispo. I'm allergic to a python. Yeah. Don't they? It made it to Escondido in like four days, and it bit you. In four days. You took that new train. That's right. I hate that train. It's not built yet. Yeah. So there were two pythons that escaped from this house, but the big one was 20. I got two pythons right here. Oh, yay. I love when Skye looks at Eddie absolutely emotionless when he's flexing his muscles. That is emotionless. I mean, she just stares at you. She's never seen such beauty. Anyway, so the big one that escaped was a 23 foot, 130 pound python. How does she not acknowledge it? How do you not acknowledge that? How do you not acknowledge that the snake was 23 feet long and 130 pounds? And it escaped.
It's bigger than Rob. And they were warning people in San Luis Obispo to keep their young children and their pets under close watch. That's how big it was? 23 feet, 130 pounds. I'm sure that didn't scare anybody in the neighborhood. That would be awesome. Yeah, so it escaped over the weekend, and then by Monday afternoon, they found- How do pythons just escape? That is what I was wondering, too. What do you mean they escape? How does it? How do you keep something that big in a house? Well, because they had their own terrariums inside the house, and then- Congratulations, Skye. Congratulations. Very impressive. Very impressive. Thank you. I've been practicing all morning. So they got outside of their terrariums, but then they also got outside of the house, which is, you know, like, how does that happen? They go to the garbage disposal? Come on. Yeah. So the small one, which was a 12-footer, was found a day and a half later under the porch of the house. I'll find him for Den. I'll catch him.
And kill him. And then the big one, the 23-footer, was found laying in the sun. Every inch of him. In somebody's backyard. $10,000 for me by myself. For that, you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing. That's right. That's right. Yeah, the big one was found laying in somebody's backyard several blocks away. Show me the way to go. Must have been tight. Here we go. Show me the way to go. Boom, boom, boom. I'm tired. Boom, boom, boom. Those are filled with compressed air. A new study says that men think that women with big chins are more likely to, and I won't tell you until we come back. I will keep you hanging until we come back, but there is a new study that says that men think that women with big chins are more likely to do this.
You're going to have to figure out for yourself, and I'll tell you when we get back what it is. And, yeah, so don't go away. That's what I'm talking about right there. That is some serious 80s heartfelt love. This is butter to my warm biscuit. Thank you, dude. That's what I'm saying. Cheese in my bowl of corn. That is incorrect. That is so gross. That is so gross. Nobody wants that. And everybody wants this. That's what I'm saying. This guy is acting like he's never heard this song before. That's impossible though, Eddie. I've heard it. You love it, right? It's alright. That's pretty hurtful language. Definitely some very hurtful language. Here's the build, Sky. Sky, I dedicate this one to you. What do you think about that? Sky, do you accept? Thank you.
Accept my love. Accept it. I said thank you. Accept my love. I said thank you very much. Accept it like you mean it. So St. Elmo's. So St. Elmo's. That's right. It is so St. Elmo's. You don't get it. Okay. So we're going to talk about this study. A study came out that said that men that have looked at women with big chins believe that those women are more likely to be Jay Leno's daughter. Interesting. No, that's not it. Skye, what do they think about those women? That they're more likely to cheat. What? that women with masculine facial features are more likely to cheat and not be the material for a long-term partner. How weird is that? They were shown, you know, a bunch of different pictures of women, and the study found that, yeah. Hey, guys, this is former professional wrestler China. I disagree with this study. Oh, China. Are you loyal? Yeah, I'm very loyal. I love all the men that I'm with. What? What did you say, little guy?
anyway yeah so the study shows that men think that women with more masculine features especially bigger chins um are more unrestricted sexually and more likely to stray from their partners really hey guys this is pink i take a lot of offense to that i'm a very very loyal person I've never heard pink talk like that. That's crazy. That was really weird. Let me tell you something. Quite possibly the best pink imitation I've ever heard in my life. In the business. It may be the best pink imitation I've ever heard in my life. Thank you. Okay, we're going to give something a try. Oh, this makes me nervous. I'm having a bad day. You're fine. Are the octopus calling back? Yes. That's what we're going to do. You're fine. You're fine. Hey. I'm fine. You're going to explain this perfectly. You're going to know how it works. I'm giving you a pep talk. Should I quiz these people hardcore or what? How dare you? You're good. You know what's up, bro. But Skye, he has to do everything. I have to control the sound effects. The timer.
The timer. The songs. The color. Everything. Do you want Rob to rub your back while you do it? I want Rob to rub my back. It'll help. Okay. Oh, boy. I can get this done. Here we go, Mike. Just breathe. Okay. Right? Now, here is my timer. Okay. Yeah, practice. That sounds normal, right? Yeah, you're good. Sounds just like usual. And then if they're wrong, that happens, okay? Okay. What happens if they're right? If they're right. Skye, what is your problem, man? You've got this. You've got this, bro. Okay, I need... Okay, Ash. Where's Winterbell? I need Winterbell on the front page. Oh, okay. Ashley, it's hard enough for him as it is. It's called... No, that's not it, is it? No. That's not it. We can make it work. It'll do in a page. Okay, it's called Ding. M.S. Ding. Put it on the front page for me. M.S. Ding. M.S. Ding.
And Miss Ding. Hey, Miss Ding. All right. Here's how Lyrical Gangsta works. You call us at 570-1053. Now, up for grabs, MMA tickets tonight. Okay, there we go. We got MMA tickets tonight. Palma Casino. Palma Casino. Laddator Challenge. That's right. The Mexicutioner. P1 Mexicutioner. Yeah, dude. Yeah, dude. Former Ultimate Fighter, Gabe Rudiger in the main event. I'm going to give you three different categories, all right? Real fresh. Your categories are One Hit Wonders, Legends, and In the Name of Love. Oh, beautiful. One Hit Wonders. You got it! Okay. Okay, your one-hit wonders question is, in the song Whip It by Devo, he says, crack that whip, give the past a what? I'm sorry, that is incorrect. That is incorrect. He's rolling over in his grave. He's not actually dead. He's just not on the show anymore. And it's give the past a slip.
I didn't even know you were saying that, but let me tell you. Sorry about that, J-Mac. P1 Alla Alla Alligator is on the line. Hello. How you doing, Alligator? I'm good. How are you? I'm good. I'm good. I'm nervous. You're doing great. I'll be honest with you. That was awesome, Mike. I'm a little bit nervous. That was perfect. Yeah, I am. I am. What do you do? I'm a personal assistant. Really? Yeah. That's a cool job. No, it's not. It's not. No, come on. Isn't that kind of a cool job? Like, you know, you work for one person. You do? Like, what kind of stuff do you do? Wipe for them. No, not that kind of assistant. No. I don't know. What do you do? He's asking. I, like, help her clean her house. I run errands for her. I help her with her kids. Is she famous? Yeah, is she famous? Yeah. She's not nice. Is she? Oh, man. Hopefully she's not listening. Bazing.
She doesn't listen to the radio. Alligator, how dare you say that about me? When I get home. Oh, you are dead, lady. You're dead. No gold for you. How old is the lady? She's in her 50s. Oh, wow. I just act like it. That's right. All right, are you ready to do this, Alligator? I am. All right, your categories are Legends, In the Name of Love, and One-Hit Wonders. What would you like? I'll try One Hit Wonders. You got it. Your One Hit Wonders question is, in the song Der Komisar by After the Fire, he says, you're in his eye and you'll know why. The more you live, the faster you will what? Die. That is correct. That is correct. The faster you will die. Very well done. Alligator, thank you. Congratulations. Thank you, Alligator. You are a winner. You're going to go see MMA tonight after you're done with your personal assistant job. Thank you very much. You're welcome. You can take your boss and enter into the octagon. Yeah, I'm still here.
You're doing perfect. You're doing real good. You should be proud, bro. I'm not. This is hard. You're great. You're great. I just watched the PC. Come on, wrestler. Come on, wrestler. Okay, P1 Joseph. Joseph, what do you do, Joseph? I work for an ambulance company. There you go. Are you an EMT? No, I drive their wheelchair unit. Gotcha, gotcha. Okay, here's your categories. In the name of love, which is love songs, legends, or one-hit wonders. What do you want? Let's do one-hit wonders. You got it. Your one-hit wonders question is, in the song Rapper's Delight by the Sugar Hill Gang, they say, to the bang-bang boogie, say up-jump the boogie, to the rhyme of the what? Boogie to beat. That is correct. Oh, yeah. Congratulations. Eddie, you're not saying any words. Yeah, way to go, Eddie. Verbatim. You would have lost. Hey, Joseph, guess what, dude? What's up, brother? You're going to the MMA. Yeah. That's right, dude. I'm really glad that's over. Aw, man. You're so good, Mike. I'm real glad that's over. We're all so proud of you.
I am telling you. Come on, let's do three more. No! Oh, that's hysterical. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's hysterical. You know you want to. Did you think I was going to not see this? I don't even know. Because you were right. Here it goes, Mike. Come on. Let's do this. This isn't really a solo part. You're not going to Hollywood, dude. You're not going to Hollywood. If you forget the lyrics, you're not going to Hollywood. Come on, dog. I'm so sorry. I let a lot of people down. You really did.
You really did. I believed in you. You were going to move us out of the ghetto. We were going to really change things, change our lives. And I just got that new David Cook CD. I thought I was going to be good. Good to go. It didn't work out the way I wanted it to. We got an email that says, okay, I only get to listen to the show when I get in my car and on the way to work at 740. and then at work until it's over. So I may have missed it, but it's such a prime opportunity to mess with B-Rob that I can't pass it up. Oh, what's up? Please read his blog on designer jeans from yesterday. Wait a minute. Oh, no. What did you do? I cannot wait. What did you do, Rob? You should read that. What is this about? All right, let's go to MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y. Blog it up. S-H-O-W. Hit me on the blog. And it's his blog from yesterday. It says, I'm a fan of rockin' regular Hanes t-shirts. That's how it starts. It says, I'm a fan of rockin' regular Hanes t-shirts. Regular James Dean over here. That's right. With that said, I'm not a fan of v-neck t-shirts. If there is one thing that drives me crazy about clothes, it's when the neck of the shirt gets stretched out.
To me, a V-neck is basically a stretched out shit. It ain't my style, and I don't think it ever will be. Why would you want to wear a T-shirt with the neck already stretched to below the nip-nip line? Okay. I don't get it. I just don't. Now, as I was reading this, this is the first time I've read it. I haven't read it. As I'm reading it, I'm thinking in my head. I'm thinking to myself. His brother wears V-necks all the time. That was my first thought. Big Al Kahuna. Well, his next sentence is, my brother rocks the V-neck and pulls it off. In my world, those things suck and make me look like I was wearing women's clothing, which one time I bought chick's jeans on accident. Yes! It was one of my first time buying designer jeans, and I had no idea what the heck was going on. I realized that they were chick jeans and ended up wicked embarrassed when I took them back because it was all chicks at the counter. Anyways, no idea why I told you that. I'm an idiot. Okay. You got a picture, Rob. Tattooed on his neck is the word Boston. His arms are sleeved with tattoos.
And dude bought women's jeans. I was at Charlotte Roos. I had no idea. Yeah, like how do you not know? Because you're so petite. That's right. Everything at Lake Bryant was too big. I'm just trying to figure it out. They had like a sail rack, which I don't know why. Where were you? I was at Nordstrom. And they have like, you know, they. After a while, they can't sell certain designer jeans. What's that section called? The brass plum. I was not over there. Oh, no. Oh, no. No, but I was at the brass rail. Great drink special. Wonderful hamburger. Wow. And they take all their designer jeans and they slash the prices in half. They put them on this one rack. And someone must have slipped in some chicks jeans with it. And I even tried them on. They fit perfectly. Of course they did. And I was like, why do these things have no pockets in the front? Where am I supposed to put my stuff? You are so queer. Just when I thought you couldn't get any more feminists. So I bought them and I went home. And I was like, Gabe, Al, like these jeans fit.
But I'm starting to think something up. They say Jawdash on the back. They say Applebaum. You use that alone. What size were they? Two. Oh, you are weird. No, they were like 32 or something. The size wasn't different than a men's, you know what I mean? And that's what threw me off. Well, wait a minute. Girls' pants don't come in 32, do they? They do sometimes, especially designer brand jeans. They'll come in 28, 29, 30. That's why I was like... Like Lucky and 7. Dude, the Jonas Brothers wear girls' jeans. What's the problem? Totally, Rob. I was going to keep him. You're a Jonas brother. I knew Eddie would give me some stuff about that. That's crazy. I took him back. But, of course, when I go back to take him, there's like 18 chicks all at the one. I'm like, have you even worked here? Dance, Rob. Dance. All right. Here I go.
Oh, look at him dancing in those girl jeans. That's my eyebrows. Where's my dolphin shorts? And then the chicks at the counter are like, oh, are you returning these for your girlfriend? And I'm like, oh, man. And I was like. Nah, funny story. Someone bought these for me and didn't realize they were women. That I wasn't gay. I got a wiener. You guys are jerks. I'm never vlogging again. You're never going to believe this, but I have a wiener. I know you can't tell. I'm an innie. I'm waiting for it to drop. Wow. Oh, man.
570-1053 is our phone number. Every guy's done that one. No, bro. Not even close. I shop in the men's section. If you're denying it, you've done it. Yeah, dude, every guy's bought themselves a nice pair of feminine jeans. Just once. You're the best. Explain what you call the high-low. What's the high-low? The high-low is when you're rocking designer jeans or something that's really expensive, and then you've got exactly what I explained in the blog, just a regular Hanes t-shirt. You get them at Walmart or something. They're like six packs or like nine bucks. It's called the high-low. Can it work the opposite where you've got to design a shirt? Nothing on bottom? Sweat puns. I've done that. I believe you. I've done that. Speaking of Rob's story, Anderson Cooper is going to auction himself off to for charities. Get in on that, Rob. Yeah, Rob. I'll wear my jeans. You guys can share clothes. Yeah, it's for charity, and the highest bidder will get a lunch date with Anderson Cooper. Clay Aiken is freaking out right now. That's right. Guys night.
And then afterwards, we'll get a personal tour of the newsroom by Anderson. That's what she said. Neck rub. Oh, well, sexy time. And the winner is... Let's try again. And the winner is... And the winner is... And the winner... Oh, the winner is Bob. There we go. Simpson. Oh, wow. Let's see. Did you hear about J.K. Rowling being knighted in France? Oh, she's so lucky. That's right. Knighted? Does that mean she's a dame? No, she's a dame. No, she's a broad. No, no, no. What? Aren't the women that get knighted, aren't they dames? Like Dame Judi Dench? I don't know. Dame Edna. She was given the title of knight. In the Legion of Honor by the president of France. Oh, yeah. It's Marvel, right? It's not DC. It's Marvel. That's cool. Wow. Really cool. Her and Aquaman can hang out. Aquaman is DC. What's up? Mike. Set up, dude. Yeah, that's weird. Jessica Simpson has canceled her self-magazine cover sheet. Don't laugh at her. I wonder why.
Don't you laugh. Probably the flu. No. She ate the photographer. No. Mike. I didn't say that. Why would you say that? You're so mean. I didn't say that. You are so mean to people. Yeah, well, I guess they had a photo shoot canceled for her to be on the cover of Self Magazine, but she called to cancel. The magazine's editor says, hey, everyone. I'm canceling, y'all. All right. Rawr, Twinkie. That's not fair. She sounds like that. The magazine editor says, everyone's making a big deal out of nothing. They would still love Jessica to be on their cover. They had discussions about it, but they couldn't find a date that worked for everyone. Or an outfit. Because Jessica is very busy. Ashley. What? Eddie, you've been saying it. You guys are so brutal. Who said what? She's beautiful. How dare you. Okay. Skye has new releases. Oh, yeah. We didn't get to do that. We didn't get to do them. We didn't get to. We have new releases. We didn't get to. We were busy, Chetty. Where are we, Ash, on the main page? Theme's page in orange. Got it.
Okay, new video games out yesterday. Three on three NHL arcade for the Xbox 360. Snowboard Riot for the Wii. Snowboard Riot. Ultimate Shooting Collection for the Wii. R-Type Dimension for Xbox 360. Zach and what? Miri make a porno. It's that Kevin Smith movie. Oh, is that out today? It's out on DVD. Oh. What? Sky, what else is out? What? What do you got? Why would you? You know what he's doing. Yeah, what else is out today? But I thought that we. What do you got? Yeah, I thought we were cool too. And then I thought he was going to. Yeah, but no. We haven't even got there yet. Oh, where are we at? New CDs that came out yesterday. We have The Fray with their self-titled album. Oh, I love it. Love The Fray. Oh, dude. Oh, guys, The Fray. Full play is so good. X, Y, Z, X, Y. That fun? See, this is my favorite song that he does with Santana. Oh, yeah, for sure.
You're so smooth. Stop it. Leg jumper. I love the phrase. You know, I am exactly at 50% with that song. I cannot decide if I like it or don't want it at all. I like it. Can't decide. Also out yesterday, a new album from another American Idol reject. We have Melinda Doolittle with Coming Back to You. Are you serious? Finished third in 2007. The winner that season was Jordan Sparks. Oh, I remember her. I think she was the most talented one. But there was no way she was going to win because she wasn't as cute as the other ones. I'd never buy this. I'd never have this. It's like Broadway. Yeah, dude. It's like... It's okay. Wow. That was very Gladys Knight and the Pips. Yeah. And then also released yesterday the soundtrack to the movie He's Just Not That Into You. Songs from Corinne Bailey Ray, R.E.M., Talking Heads, Black Crows, Maroon 5, Ting Ting's Lily Allen, Cure, Scarlett Johansson. What? Track on there. We have the Maroon 5 one with Rihanna. Oh, the three.
Yeah. I like my vibe, man. I think that sounds so cool. Can somebody, can we search and try to find the Scarlett Johansson? I want to hear it so bad. Yeah, I looked for it. I couldn't find it. Remember she sounded like Sinead O'Connor? Yeah. A bad Sinead. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let me look again. She sounded like she's, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's called Last Goodbye. Yeah, we didn't have that. We might have another one of our other ones. Yeah, yeah. If you could find that clip, we had an old clip of. Yeah, falling down. I'll put it up. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, man. And I said, oh, yeah. I liked it the first time I heard him. It was Sinead O'Connor. That's not it, Rob. I'm falling down. That's creepy. Rob, I don't think that's it. Rob, that's creepy. No, no, no. Somebody step on a mousetrap? Shut up. Rob, shut up. You got it. Where did you put it? Above. It's in the middle page. In the middle of the page.
Above the lyrical gangsta stuff. Got it. Got it. And the main page? Mm-hmm. Oh. All right. I got it. I got it. You got it. Hang with me. I'm hanging. Middle of the page. What's it called? Scarlett Johansson falling down. I'm falling down. Shut up. I don't care. She's gorgeous. She's gorgeous. Sing it, baby. Yeah. Go ahead and cut. She's so beautiful. All of a sudden, I'm going to cry. Yeah. She's going to cry. I don't care. She's gorgeous. You have beautiful pipes. She's beautiful. Oh, man. Get over it. Tie your hair black and go cry in the corner. Wow. Oh, it is. Okay. All right. New DVDs that came out yesterday. We have... Zach and Miri. All right. Zach and Miri make a porno. Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks. Kevin Smith. I already heard about that one. Is it no good?
No, no, no. Sorry that Eddie ruined it for you for the 12th week in a row. That's not true. He did it 13 weeks ago, too. Also released yesterday, Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist with Michael Cera. What's up with the names of movies, man? To turn it into like the names of bands. Yeah. That's true. Out today. I can't believe I just made this omelet. Also released, Madagascar Escape to Africa. Good one for the kiddies. The Secret Life of Bees with Dakota Fanning and Jennifer Hudson was released yesterday. That's a real movie. Yeah. Thought it was fake too. I know everybody's been waiting for this one to come to DVD. Yesterday, Barbara Streisand's Yentl was finally released on DVD. So make sure you pick that one up. Well, I wanted to have one you wouldn't ruin, okay? I don't know. I needed one that Eddie wouldn't steal.
I think something's wrong. And I feel like I accomplished something. Dude, she just said Yentl came out. She got bit by a spider because she just said Yentl. Hey, everybody. Yentl came out. I mean, dude. Oh, you've seen your yoga. This new hot release, Cleopatra out today. Another Barbra Streisand and wonderful favorite, Nuts, came out just yesterday. Richard Dreyfuss and Barbra Streisand. Funny girl. Yes, Funny Girl will be... The Criterion Edition is coming out. Don't Forget About A Star Is Born. Oh, one of my favorites. Wonderful film with Chris Christopherson available today on DVD. That was the commentary track on that one. It's really good. I loved it. Chris and Barbara talk about the making of the film. They couldn't get Barbara, but... Yes. Okay. But they have a stand-in. Yeah, they have a drag queen. It's really good. It's amazing. You can find it at most retail outlets today. And that was your Barbra Streisand report. TV shows to DVD. The Partridge Family. I'll just move right along. I won't acknowledge it. I don't need to acknowledge it. It's a point. Becker Season 2. Dave's World, the second season. And finally we have Night Court, the complete second season. Enjoy. Very cool. You're very cool.
You're very cool. You are cool. Thank you. But the 50s crowd. Really? I'm sorry. Dude. Australia is proposing a new law, and it's about kids, and it's about taking kids. Kidsmen? No. No. It's about taking kids away from their parents if... The kids talking with that stupid accent? Nope. Wait till I tell you what this is. We are K-I-O-Z San Diego Hit It. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. Welcome back, everybody. It's the Mikey Show. So, Mick G, the director of the new Terminator movie, he's sticking up for his boy Christian Bale. Nice. Yeah. He says, you know, listen, my boy's a good guy, so he screwed up a little bit. Big whoop. Now, if you don't know, Christian Bale, he flipped out, man. It was like on the local news. Are you serious? It was on every news thing. No way. It wasn't just entertainment. It was a huge story yesterday. Really, what I think is kind of interesting is nobody really does touch on the whole part of, like, how did this get out there? We touched on it just a tiny bit.
Like we mentioned it, but, you know, we really didn't go into it. And the news stations aren't really going into it. How did it get out there? Because one of the things that's really interesting about it is how absolutely good the audio quality is. The audio quality is great. So it makes you wonder, you know, whoever was taping it, they wanted it to get out there. And my guess is he knows. My guess is that he knows who did it. Look, G, you got something to say to this. Well, somebody should be f***ing watching and keeping an eye on him. Fair enough. This is the second time that he doesn't give a f*** about what is going on in front of the camera. All right? I'm trying to f***ing do a scene here and I'm going, why the f*** is Shane walking in there? You hear the echo, by the way? Yeah.
That's how sets sound, Mike. I know you wouldn't know this, but when you're on a film set. Eddie, what film set were you on? What film set? This is kind of how it works. I mean, we've seen it on TV as well. It's very large. You were an extra one time on Renegade. That's funny, Sky. I was a co-star in Extra. Yes, Sky. I think you nailed it right on the head. I don't know. We filmed outdoors, so it wasn't. The same, but I'm experienced in all facets of film and television. Here's what the director of the film had to say. You know, I know making movies ain't easy and maybe just got kind of crazy that day or something. No, the truth is that we're all very passionate about filmmaking and we go out there and we want to get it done properly day in, day out. And the simple truth is... Sometimes you have to scream at people at the top of your lungs and almost physically get into an altercation. What's the big deal? Sometimes you've got to punch someone in the face. It happens, you know what I mean? I mean, sometimes your fist makes contact with their face, like five times. He's a consummate professional. I hate to burst anybody's bubble, but he shows up unbelievably prepared. Oh, you totally burst my bubble. I was like... My bubble is burst. I bet he doesn't show up prepared. I always thought he was unprepared. Yeah, and I was so dead set on that, and I was even taking it to Disneyland, and then all of a sudden, pow, he pops it, and I'm like... Forget it.
He is prepared. And unbelievably ready to go to work. Whatever. That guy's angry. Yeah, I read another quote saying that he said it was a non-event. Oh, a non-event? Yeah. Wait a second. No, it was a big event. That can't happen, and nobody would go... Dude. Yeah, this is the assistant director who said this, Bruce Franklin. He said it was a non-event and that Christian Bale's freakout was actually simply the result of good acting. He's a method actor. He was completely immersed in the scene and it was just the heat of the moment. There's a lot of method actors that we know. You haven't heard that about Pacino. Yeah, De Niro. De Niro. And these are all, you know, method actors. Okay, so before we went to break, I said that Australia was proposing a new law. And if this were happening in America, this would be extraordinarily controversial. Yeah, it is there too. It is there too? Oh, yeah. What do they want to do, Sky?
Well, in Australia, one in every four children is obese, overweight or obese, I guess. Now, I wonder what obese is. What do you need to qualify as obese to be a kid and be obese? You just have to be, you know, dramatically or grossly overweight. Jessica Simpson here. No, no, no. That is what? Hey, so this new doctor, or not this new doctor, a doctor who works at a children's hospital there in Australia has proposed a law that he wants on the books that he, in extreme cases of obese children, when their doctors have specifically told the parents that they need their children to lose weight, if the children do not lose weight, if the diets are not implemented and the children remain extremely obese, that those children be taken away from their parents. Can you believe that? What? That they remove them from the home? That Child Protective Services will come in and remove those children because they're basically being abused by their parents not helping them. That's an interesting word. Abuse. I see it. There's a lot of ways to think about that, man. I see it. There's a lot of ways to think about that. What if the kid has a thyroid problem?
Well, if it has a thyroid problem, then they can prove that. Well, then they're put on medication, and there's things that can be done about that. That doesn't always work, Sky. People with thyroid problems don't always become thin when they get put on medication. Well, not thin, but isn't there a way for them not to be extremely obese? Not always. Well, how about this? Now you're putting words into there. deathly obese now they have to be? Well, an extreme case of obesity. See, that's the deal. Which is unhealthy. First of all, you have to establish what's obese. And let's say that they do a height, age, and weight deal. And they say, this kid is supposed to be 98 pounds. And he is 150 pounds. And so that is, here in Australia, considered obese. So what do we do now? Now, Here's the thing. I would bet that if a kid had a reason for being that way, they would be able to prove that. But let's take the medical part out of it, and let's say that it's because the kid is being fed unhealthy. What then? So what do we think? Do we think that that's abuse? See, to me, if a child is so extremely overweight...
where it's a health problem, and their parent isn't helping them with that, to me, to fix it and make it better and make them healthy, that's, to me, almost the same thing as a parent withholding medication from a child if a child is sick and needs medicine. You're not giving them the tools to make them better, even though you know what those tools are. And to me, yeah, that is neglectful. That is a form of abuse, in my opinion. Here's where I am on this one. I think that there are some parents... who actually don't know, and they themselves, I would be willing to bet, I don't want to say a percentage, but I'd be willing to bet that many of these obese kids have obese parents. And so I am going to take a guess that many of them, they really don't know what to do. Now, let me finish the point, because I'm not saying that this is an excuse. I think that instead of taking kids away,
I do think something needs to be done. Well, the way I'm understanding what the proposed law is, is that the parents get an opportunity first to go to the doctors to learn the right things to do. That's cool. And if they don't then implement those things, and if the kids don't get better because they're not implementing the things, that's when the children will be taken away. So they're given the knowledge and the tools. It's a bummer, man. I mean, isn't it? You don't want to see kids obese. No. You know, you don't. It's really bad for them. Yeah, but do you think the government should step in and take kids away from their families? No, I don't. I don't think so at all. I don't think the government should step in and do that. Really, when you said that right now is when I really went, oh, man, that's sketchy. I mean, yeah, I agree with you. I think that obesity would suck if you were a kid. Your parents aren't doing the right things. But to have the government step in and take them away from their family, that's weird. Well, but then I'm thinking to myself, see, then my brain goes back to, is this a form of abuse? Yeah, and I kind of think it is. I mean, you're guaranteeing that child diabetes. So should we take away your fat cats? You're not guaranteeing it. You're not guaranteeing it.
You can't say that. We cannot say that. You are putting them in direct contact with poor health and risk. You're putting them at high risk. For a whole variety of health problems. Diabetes, heart disease. Because we're not just talking about overweight kids. We're talking about extremely overweight, obese children. I mean, the extreme cases is what we're talking about here. Not just overweight children, the extreme cases. And I'm trying to think, okay. What about this? What about you keep your you you let your kids stay up until three o'clock in the morning on a regular basis and the kid's eyes are all baggy and the kid is, you know, in poor health. And it's because the kid's being allowed to stay up till three o'clock in the morning. It's a little bit similar. It's not illegal to let your kids stay up. It's not illegal to feed your kid bad food, but should.
The government step in and say, well, this just isn't right. It's just not right to let your son or your daughter stay up until 3 o'clock in the morning. Look at them. They're in poor health. We can see it. What about that? Same thing? No? Not to me. I don't think lack of sleep makes you susceptible for as many deathly illnesses as being extremely obese. But isn't it bad for you? And you can see that this kid is... Yeah, but so is caffeine and sugar and skateboarding without a helmet. See, that's the deal. You can't see that. You give them the energy drinks or whatever. Let's say you let your kid have 10 energy drinks a day, but you just can't see that on the kid. You can't see it, whereas I'm trying to think of an example. Where do you see it? Obesity? You see it. I'm trying to think of an example where you see it. I don't know. But I think I'm kind of, I see both sides, man. I see what Sky's saying. I see what Eddie's saying. Like, it's not good for them. It's bad. And then I see what you're saying of like, really going to let the government start telling us what we feed our kid? 570-1053. Phone line's blowing up. Let's see. P1 Pawn Man has a legitimate question. Oh, good. Pawn Man. Yeah, legitimate question for Ashley. Yes.
Thank you. Thank you. That's it. Do you want the government taking away Sammy? Yeah, you mind if I take a look at your dog? Because we have reports from your neighbors that your dog is about 400 pounds overweight. I would freak out. Maybe you should stop giving the dog dominoes all the time. Although she has lost a lot of weight, she's like normal now. because I've had her on a really strict diet. See, that's a good mommy. Can you explain her face? Hey! It's unexplainable. Can you explain it? Can you explain it? I don't think anybody could. I've never seen anything like it. That's scary. In all the years I've been in the outback. You miss her. I do. You miss her? Yeah. Oh, I always miss her when I'm away from her. Oh, wow. We're like so close, Mike. It's like weird. It's like weird. Like last night we were like literally in my bed, like sharing a pillow, sharing goldfish, watching like Oprah. And I'm like, this is weird. Wow. Yeah, it's really. P1 Sheridan T, Sam. Kind of creepy. Hello. How's it going? What's up? Oh, I was just calling in because I'm a 17-year-old high school student. Right now I'm out of school. But besides that, when I was in.
Middle school when I was younger, I was always on a good diet. And it was just my genetics for some reason. I never had a thyroid problem or anything like that. But I was almost mortally obese. My doctor said I had health problems. There was a good chance that, you know, I could have had a heart attack and died. And I was always on a good diet. Now, dude, and you're telling me that it didn't have anything to do with what you were eating? Yeah, you were eating well and you were active. Well, I was pretty active, but my mom and my parents had me on a good diet. It was something to do with my genetics. I grew up. Boy, bro, listen, I got to tell you, I would love to know what the good diet was. Because it just, you know, so, I mean, a lot of times it's what our parents think is a good diet. He was saying that he thought it was genetic, though, and that's possible. Guess what? It was genetic in my family, too. You know what it was called? A lot of tortillas, a lot of, seriously, it was bad food. I don't know because I think it is.
definitely possible for it to be genetic. It is. But you know what that means, genetic? It means that one family passes it on to the other and they pass it on to the... Well, there are studies that show that certain people and genetically you store fat in a different way and your body holds on to it differently, but that just means you gotta work harder. It doesn't mean it's impossible. Well, wait, wait, wait. Well, it certainly means this, doesn't it? Doesn't it mean that you have to work out, that you do have to exercise? But I'm telling you, Mike, this family that I interviewed, or that I interviewed, that I babysat, The kids were two and five. One of them was still in diapers, and she was 40 pounds, a two-year-old, in diapers, and she was like 40 pounds, like obese. And you're telling me that the kid was, you know, like fed- And the five-year-old was 106 pounds. And was fed absolutely the same exact stuff. First of all, they told me to barely feed them anything. If they ask for food, don't give it to them because they're on strict diets, and it's like- It's like a genetic thing. And I would give them like string cheese. And we were eating healthy the whole time. Well, I'll tell you this. It was crazy. There's no denying an illness. You know, like if they have a condition. If there's a condition. It was crazy. Like a thyroid. Like I said, a thyroid. I don't know. Something that's making it happen. But I don't know, man. I'm telling you as a fat kid growing up, I was a fat kid. Fat in high school. Fat, fat all the time. Fat, fat.
And the reason was bad food and no exercise. And, you know, my mom and dad were kind of the same way. And that's the way they ate. And that's the way that we ate at home. And I don't know. I think that that's the case in a lot of, you know, listen, I got to hand it to my wife, man. She's like, she really plans stuff out and puts work and structure into what they're, and it's work. It's work to get your kid fed right, you know, but. I don't know. I don't know. Hey, brother, I appreciate the phone call. All right. Thank you. Thank you, man. Whoa. P1 Center D. Are you there? Center D. Center D. Not there. Okay. We got to go. 570-1053 is the number. And we're working on getting texts back in case you haven't heard. Oh, I hope so. 570-1053 is our phone number in the beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment so you can call in about anything you'd like. Mikey Show. Hi, Jeff. Oh, I gotta hear it. Awesome.
With my jeans. That's great. That's great. Eddie, it was shorts. It was shorts. Well, they're her moms. Yes, yes. They're not. They're not. But Eddie, this happened like the other day. It happens every week. Yes. But they don't live together. It's crazy. I don't know how. Guys, they're her shorts. What? Yes. You're telling us. I hate to break it to you. Are you kidding me? They're normal shorts. Hold the boat. Well, they ride a little high. To the nip-nip lining. They do not. They're normal shorts. It's just a little baggy, but I think it's a style. It's a style. For gardening. It's called comfort. Okay, back off. Thank you for the call. Wow. No problem. We appreciate it. That is crazy. Tomorrow on the show, we are going to test the ability of the great ShamWow. Finally. Yes. Get this camera guy? Yeah, yeah. How are we going to do that? We're going to put Rob in Coca-Cola and a Speedo and a helmet, and then we're going to take him out of there, and we're going to try to ShamWow him dry. Yeah, just like the commercial.
Rob says to me yesterday, so I tell Rob yesterday that he's going to do this, and he says to me, oh, yeah, dude, hey, is it all good if I wear, like, you know, like, body armor? And I go. Under armor. Yeah, under armor. And I go, um, no. Will he do anything? I know it. I know it. I know it. I know it. Lovely and talented Missy is up next. And it's going to be fantastic. Today on the Nooner, Missy's got the all-request lunch, so make sure you're calling in and requesting your song. And we'll see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out. Later.
