Construction workers uncovered mammoth remains beneath downtown San Diego, and the hosts immediately turned the discovery into an elaborate elephant-mafia joke. Ari told Mikey that racial stereotype bits could hurt even without hateful intent, and Mikey defended the show's irreverence while apologizing for causing pain. Bill Gates's mosquito stunt and Boston Rob's freezing Pepsi Max-and-ShamWow experiment supplied the spectacle, while Sky and Eddie battled Mikey over whether Obama's bailout salary cap was justified accountability or government overreach. A Barry Bonds Hall of Fame argument deepened when former pitcher Matt admitted using steroids, and Etta James's attack on Beyonce, ESPN's pulled Shaquille O'Neal ad, and Drew's week-long tree sit rounded out the show.
What happened, in order
Mammoth Under Downtown
Workers building a law school in San Diego's East Village uncovered a mammoth skull, other bones, and an eight-foot tusk that were destined for museum display.
Comedy and Racial Harm
Caller Ari said the show's racial stereotypes could still hurt people, while Mikey defended comedy without hateful intent and apologized for causing pain.
The Octuplet Street Poll
Boston Rob asked people whether an unmarried mother who used fertility treatment to have eight more children after already having six had exceeded what she could responsibly parent.
Gates Releases Mosquitoes
Bill Gates released mosquitoes during a malaria talk, waited before revealing they were malaria-free, and told the audience poor people should not be the only ones exposed.
The Bailout Pay Showdown
Sky and Eddie supported Obama's proposed $500,000 pay cap for executives taking bailout money, while Mikey argued that government-set salaries were troubling and bonuses were the real abuse.
The ShamWow Pepsi Plunge
Boston Rob climbed into a vat of cold Pepsi Max in a Speedo, then the crew used ShamWows to dry his body and dunked head while marveling that the towels worked.
Tylenol Murders Reopened
The hosts explained that investigators were revisiting the unsolved 1982 Chicago cyanide poisonings that led to modern tamper-evident medicine packaging.
Steroid-Era Hall of Fame
New evidence that Barry Bonds tested positive for steroids launched an argument over whether baseball's tainted stars belong in the Hall of Fame despite their records.
A Player Admits Steroid Use
Former professional pitcher Matt said an organization steered him toward steroid injections that raised his weight and velocity but also produced rage, mood swings, and serious health risks.
Etta James Versus Beyonce
Etta James angrily criticized Beyonce for singing 'At Last' for Obama, and the hosts debated whether she resented losing credit and attention for a song recorded before her version.
Shaq's Pulled Fist-Kiss Ad
The crew played an ESPN ad pulled after gay-rights complaints and argued over whether Shaquille O'Neal treating a 'fist kiss' as weird was harmless banter or homophobic framing.
Tree Man Calls In
Drew called from a tree on the seventh day of a rotating protest against its removal and said he would remain indefinitely while supporters petitioned the Encinitas City Council.

It's 6.05. Welcome to the program. It's Thursday, and it's already the 5th of February. An email to my doctor. Do you guys write emails? Can you email your doctor? No. Emailing the doctor. You don't have a doctor? Uh-uh. Thank everybody. You got it. See, I never did either. I never did either. I just go to one. I had one, but I switched over to my wife's insurance when we got married. Yeah. And ever since then, I haven't had to go to the doctor, so I haven't. And my old doctor isn't on her plan. Yeah. So I have to find one eventually. I love my doctor. He's Dr. Nguyen. And he's good because you can write him. You know, you can write him an email. That's cool. I like that. It's pretty cool. And you say, hey, here's what's up. And he's really good about it. He writes you pretty much right back. And he'll be like, yeah, try this. And if it gets any worse, I'll need to see it. I love it. That's cool. I fit into a shirt this morning that I have not been able to wear before. Thank you, Frogs Fitness. Nice.
You are good to me. And that's really all I can tell you. I still have a shaved head. Yesterday I had one. And I've had one since 2001. And it turns out I still have a shaved head. Unbelievable. Today, too. That's right. Wow. Our phone number here is 570-1053. Don't forget, if you're new listening to the show, that there is five people on the show. Me, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, and Boston Rob, who's from Boston. That's right. Here's what you need to know. There's a few things happening in the world, and you can call in about any topic that you want at 570-1053. Call in about anything. But they found a mammoth skull in downtown San Diego yesterday at a construction site. What, are we talking Bruce Bochy here? No, no, no, we are not. How big? Well, big, right?
Yeah, well, one of the tusks is eight feet long. Oh, you're talking like a woolly mammoth. I thought you meant just like a big head. No, no, no. No, no. Yeah, so an eight-foot-long mammoth tusk, a skull, and other bones were all found at this construction site in the East Village. They're building the new Thomas Jefferson School of Law there, and they were about... 20 feet down in their digging when they came across this stuff. That's awesome. So, of course, they stopped digging right away and called in experts from the San Diego Natural History Museum to take over, you know, the excavation there. They say it's the remains of a Colombian mammoth, which they say roamed the Earth about 500,000 years ago. Colombian mammoth? Yeah. Okay, I'm typing it in. Yeah, Google. Google my noogle. Colombian mammoth. 500,000 years ago. So once they get all the bones out, it'll all be put on display at the Balboa Park Museum. That is so cool. Yeah. Yeah. This isn't the first time that mammoth remains have been found in San Diego. This has happened a couple times. That's pretty awesome. Yeah. Well, you know, it's a nice place to retire. Who wouldn't want it? The weather kick is. Oh, wow. Nice. Dude. What a show. Well, they just show this big giant, you know.
thing being, you know, they're big giant bones sticking out of the ground and they're showing how they're digging around it, you know? Yeah, very careful. Yeah, very carefully digging around it. I got another theory. What? I think someone put a hit on an elephant, some kind of mafia elephant. It could be. And buried them here and we're finding them now. We're finding them. Yeah. It could happen. Of the elephant world, it's the Jimmy Hoffa. Dude, you cannot discount the elephant mafia. You cannot. Nasty. Dude, they don't mess around. Okay. Sabretooth Hitman. Yeah. Sabretooth Hitman. Yeah. And you'll be digging them up for years. Yeah. All right. You know what I'm saying? You dig. You dig? 570-1053 is the phone number. Call us about anything you want to, including woolly mammoths, if you are an expert. Yes. Or if you are a woolly mammoth. If you are a woolly mammoth, you can call, too. Feel free. If you are a paleontologist, you can call. If you are Sam Neill.
And you were in the movie Jurassic Park. We would appreciate it. Give us a ringy dingy. When I was in... I feel like I'm there. Welcome to Jurassic Park. I love it. I love it. That is really weird. I love it. I just got transported. Transported. Yeah. I know. I'm there. We just, the helicopter landed. Kind of a rough landing, but we're here. That's right. Well, I've had a couple. Let's see. Oh, the other big thing that we're finding out this morning and that we've been, that we wanted to talk about was apparently now with your Google program, you can track people on your computer by their cell phone. Been doing it. Whoa. Really? Have you been doing it? No. You haven't. That'd be creepy though, right? Yeah. How do you do it? Well, so Google unveiled this new software yesterday that allows people with cell phones and other wireless devices to share their whereabouts with family or friends. But only if I want to be.
See, that's what I was wondering, too. Now, the program is called Latitude, and I guess what you have to do, I don't know if you have to download the program to your phone, but it's something that you can turn on and off. Because that was what lots of people were complaining about. Like, this is creepy if it's something that, you know, we can't control. So they say that it's something that you can turn on and off with a click of a button. And it would allow people to go online and say, if you have it clicked on, they can track your cell phone and see exactly where you are at any time. Well, whenever I hear stuff like this, I always think to myself, okay, well, what is the practical purpose? You know, what is the purpose? Because, you know, our mind can think of a million. uh, purposes, you know, where is my spouse? Where is, you know, we can do that. But I, I wonder what the practical purpose is. And I'm, I'm guessing maybe like you got a teenager. Yeah. You want to know where you're, you want to know where your kid is. It makes sense. And so you have them, you make sure they turn on their cell phone, maybe employees who, you know, like say you're in the sales industry where you're out in the field and you have an employee bought cell phone and you're in an employee bought car.
They want to make sure you're doing your business and not have the script clubs. Yeah, you are such the man. You know what I mean? I really am. I like the script club. I like it, too. Yeah. That could be exactly what it is. Yeah, who knows? And that would have a practical purpose. You know what I mean? 570-1053. People are calling in about all kinds of stuff, including the Miley Cyrus photos. Oh, hello. You guys remember that deal, Miley Cyrus. Mimey, mimey. It just came out, man, a couple days ago. Miley Cyrus with a whole bunch of friends, and they're all making Chinese eyes with their fingers. Well, she's crazy, Mike. Oh, wow. You feel she's crazy, Ash? She's lost her mind, clearly. And they're standing there with an Asian friend in the picture. So, you know, there's a big debate on our show. P1 Bagpiper. Good morning. What's going on? Hey, how you doing? I just wanted to call in. Didn't call in when you were talking about the Miley Cyrus photo, but... I'm a minority P1, and I started thinking about it for the past couple of days, and I've got to admit that some of the stuff you guys say, and maybe even the sound effect, they do kind of bother me a little bit. Give me an example. Ramsey, anything like that. It just reminds me of all the stuff from years past, the step-and-fetch-it kind of guy, the stereotype we've had to face for years and years and years. Granted, it's a joke, and I get that, but at the same time,
I mean, some people may not get that. Yeah. Now, Ari, you say that you're a minority. What minority do you belong to? I'm black. I'm African-American. Yeah. And here's the thing, man. Like, you know, I definitely have compassion for that kind of thought. And just so that I can explain where it's coming from. And here's my fear. My fear is that I can explain this to you and you may be completely satisfied. with my explanation. But there may be people that are listening that feel the same way that you do that aren't listening right now. And they may continue to feel the way that you feel right now, which is kind of hurt or bothered by it. But I just want to kind of set this up and explain where we're coming from. You know, I said with the Miley Cyrus deal that I think that racism is about hatred. And that racism involves hatred. And when we are doing our thing here on the air, it's the last thing that we're doing. We don't have hate in our hearts. I'm Mexican. And I, you know, I am definitely one to make jokes about myself. I'm pretty self-deprecating. I'm transparent in terms of myself on the air. And I don't take myself too seriously.
And I will make jokes about myself on occasion. And if something that we say on the air does not include hate, then I'm okay with it. And I'm also okay with it because we are a comedy show. It's kind of what we're known for. We're known for irreverent comedy. And we're known for doing humor that satires and uses lampoon in order to make its point. And so in general, I'm comfortable doing these jokes. And we hope that our listeners have come to know that that's what we're about. And they they recognize the spirit that we're intending the joke. Now, I will still even with all that being said, I will still say to you, dude, I'm sorry, man. I don't want to hurt your feelings. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. It's not in my. heart to hurt anybody's feelings. What I hope happens is that people will listen for a long enough period of time that they sort of get the spirit that we're working in. And that they get that we don't mean to hurt anybody and that our intent is not to hurt anybody. That our intent is to have a good time and some laughs, not take ourselves too seriously and have a good time. So, man, dude, I hope we haven't hurt you and I hope that explains it a little bit.
Absolutely not. I think that's a fair assessment and a very valid and good point. And I believe it was the listener's response that really got me thinking about overall. And that's so much, I totally get that it's a comedy show. I mean, I laugh my butt off every morning, I got to admit. But at the same time, hearing some of the callers coming in, I don't think they all share that same perspective. Yeah, and I think that's a fair assessment. I think that's a fair assessment, man. I heard some calls that made my eyebrow go up, too. And so I get what you're saying with that. And, you know, we took some calls on it. You're getting all kinds of different viewpoints. And, you know, I agree. I agree with you. Thank you very much, Mikey. You got it, brother. Have a good day. P1 Dirt Digger. Hey, Mikey, what's going on? Not too much, bro. I was digging down in town last year. And the job site next to us at Father Joe's, they dug up a woolly mammoth or a mammoth tusk. That's so cool. Yeah, it was super cool. And I was like ham. Guy likes ham. I just heard a man in the background yell out. Ham flavor all the way from tip to prong.
5 million years old. That is so cool. And by the way, I don't believe that it was 5 million years old. Hey, I got a question for you. I got a question for you. I know that an elephant tusk is ivory, correct? Elephant tusk, ivory? When it's a woolly mammoth tusk and it's that old, has it become a fossil and now it's just brittle? Or is it still ivory? It was like petrified, and what they do is they come and they put a plaster cast around it. Before they took it out of the hole, they put a plaster cast all the way around it. I hope you took a Sharpie and wrote on there, what's up, dude? Hope it heals up good. P1 forever. What's up, P1? Draw a funny picture. Draw a funny picture. There you go. All right, thank you, dude. That's cool. I appreciate it. I like woolly mammoths. They interest me. I saw a TV show yesterday where they were putting dynamite and stuff and blowing it up, and I watched it for half an hour. I don't ever watch TV, but I watched two things yesterday. I watched dudes blowing things up, and I realized that as a man, I think that guys innately like to watch things explode. We really love it. And then they started showing it in slow motion, and I got excited like a child. I got excited. I was really enjoying.
slow motion blowing things up. And then after that, I watched a show called Man vs. Food, which is just fantastic. I watched that show too. Dude, it's so good. Watching this dude. And I know I can do the stuff he does. Easily. Easily. No problem. Easily. I have no doubt in my mind. What does he do? I'm going to name one that does not involve hotness or anything, and I'll see if you can do this. Because I'm telling you, I don't believe that the average bear can do this. This guy ate 15 dozen oysters. I don't like oysters. Ew. I don't either. But I've seen him eat like four sandwiches. Four sandwiches. Three of these sandwiches with like a fried egg. I could eat a pizza. Doesn't he? Hot wings. Oh, they're too hot. Oh, my God. I just ate 30 of them. Oh, no. I'm tearing up. Hot fritter. Hot fritter. I can't wait to watch him eat the hot stuff. I haven't seen it yet. It's easy, man. Is it? Well, of course it's going to burn and it's going to be terrible, but I can wheel myself through six hot wings that are incredibly hot. I can wheel myself through it. I haven't seen him do it, but in the previews they show him doing it and he literally...
It looks like he's just lost a family member and he's crying his eyes out. Tears are streaking down his face. He's sweating profusely. He's wet. He's soaking wet. Sounds like me. It sounds like Ashley's pits. It would suck, but I could do it. Are you serious? Like when I see those giant steaks that you got to finish in like an hour, I always think I can do it. The old 96er? Yeah, you know it. It's just one sitting. Oh my gosh, that's gross. Would you be willing to try it sometime? Sure. Oh, that's gross. Let me tell you, dude, I will have a new level of respect, you know, because I watch him in awe. Yeah. Because I can't. I can't do any of what he does. You can eat the hot wings, no problem. Well, no. I really don't think I could. You could. You eat real hot food. I'm assuming that what they do is they put that nuclear junk on there. Yeah, it's painful, but you get through it. I don't know. I believe you can do the hot stuff. He ate six. Yeah, no problem. Eddie versus food. Oh, man, dude. I'm telling you. And then at the very end, he gives a press conference if he makes it. They set up a bunch of microphones in front of him. And as they roll the credits of the show, he sits there and he says, I want to thank you. It's kind of like the show does every once in a while. I want to thank you, you know, for the man won this time. And he even gives like the little symbol. He puts his hand up and he makes the shape of an M with his hand. Who won this battle? Man.
Man versus food. Man. Oh, Eddie, you could so do that. And then flash up the E at the end. That's what's up. That's right. P1 Woolly Mammoth is on the phone. This is an actual woolly mammoth. Is that correct? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yo, I didn't want to make a comment on that mafia mammoth thing you said earlier. Yo, yo. Where is this woolly mammoth from? It's a strange accent. Really weird accent. Like, I can't really tell what the accent is. Where are you from, woolly mammoth? I am from Columbia, but yo, yo, I spent a lot of time on the east side of the country over in New York, you know? Okay. Hey, can I ask you something, Willie Mammoth? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Go ahead. You know, I know that you live in, you know, kind of hilly areas where there's a lot of boulders. Has one fallen on your head? Yo, you trying to be funny here, yo? Yes. Well, one of us has to.
I'm sorry, Wooly Mammoth. Now. Oh, I hurt the Wooly Mammoth. Oh, man. Come on. You don't know how they talked back then. I know. I know. I don't know how they... I don't know. I wasn't there. I wasn't there. Don't make me put a hit out on you, though. That's right. All right. Thank you very much. Boy, I'll tell you. You know, I heard a little of Scooby's voice in there. I wonder if... I didn't. I wonder if... Now, see, I'm hurt by that last call. You are? Yeah, I kind of am, too. That one hurt me. P1 Brandon, are you there? What's going on, guys? What's up? Have you seen the Boston episode of That Man vs. Food? It's on my digital video recorder, and I can't wait to watch it because he does hot stuff. No, he does a hamburger, a gigantic hamburger. It's like an 8-pound hamburger. He does an 8-pound hamburger and 5 pounds of fries. No problem. Kevin Euclid is there cheering him on. You could not do that. You're such a cheddar. Well, it's impossible to eat eight pounds of hamburger and five pounds of fries. It's impossible. There's no one. It's not humanly possible. It is. It's not. They gave him a time limit, and so you got to watch and see the time limit. But he does do the steak, and he does the steak in 20 minutes. How big is the steak? 72 ounces. Oh.
72 ounces. Is this guy, like, huge? Not really. He's kind of poorly. Yeah, yeah. You know what he looks like? He looks like a good buddy of yours that's coming over to watch the playoffs, you know, that's got a couple of extra pounds on him, you know. But he's not fat. He's just a, you know. He's like me, Sky. Oh. Real fit. You know what I'm saying? Thank you, Brandon. Hey, P1 Mike's calling about the cell phone locator. Go ahead, Brent. No, Mike. Go ahead, Mike. Yeah, they do this locator thing through Sprint. They've been doing it for about a year and a half now. It's for your kids. You can give your kids your phones, and they can locate them on your computer at any time. That's a reasonable thought. That makes sense. Yeah, you know kids are smart, though. Yeah. Well, you know, little kids, they go to sports and stuff like that. You can't always just sit there and practice and whatnot and wait until they're finished. You can give them a call, and if you can't get a hold of them, you can always locate them. Because not every child abductor is very hip to making sure the kid doesn't have a cell phone on them to make sure you can't find them. Mm-hmm. Yeah, if you get kidnapped and turn that little thing on. And you find them? Yeah. You've got to integrate that into, like, the GPS that's in your car. Mm-hmm.
parents, you know? That'd be a good modification to it, so you don't have to go to a computer. That's a great idea. What are you, Banachek? Get out of here. What I think they should do with kids is that it should be somewhere where it's not very noticeable. Yeah. You know? That's a good thing. I mean, they have these small... Where you can't really find it. On the phone? An eraser. Yeah, because isn't it just a program? Like, you go into, like, your menu... Yeah. Well, I'm thinking... I'm thinking as technology develops, I'd like to see it get to a point where our kids' clothing, if we want, has something very tiny in it that locates them. I think it would be good for safety. Implant a chip in them. Just put a chip in there. There we go. Sammy's got a chip in her. Brown on their tooth, like Jack Bauer. Remember? Remember? Remember? Sky, what did he do? Remember? What did he do? Well, he rescued this guy, but, you know, he wanted to get the bad guy, so he had to, you know, hand the hostage back over, and so he put a little GPS locator on a little crown on the back of his tube. That's pretty cool. Yeah, yeah. And then he found him, and then he got the bad guy. Well, he didn't get the bad guy, but the bad guy kind of slipped away. I think it's a good idea. Yeah, we've got like 18 more hours to go, so he couldn't get the bad guy. I don't know. I'm old school. I'm like, you know how you tag sharks?
I say you just get a kid and you just tag him. Maybe right on the air. I think you might need to be a parent to understand how that one wouldn't work. Kids don't like it. P1 Selfmade's on the line. Morning, everybody. How you doing? Good, good. I was actually reading on your website this morning about that Google locator. My friends and I use the one on the iPhone all the time to find out, hey, where you at, where you want to meet up. What? Yeah, we drive down. I'll drive down from Oceanside to meet a friend in San Diego at a restaurant that I've never been to. He fires up the program. I get right there. Direction, step-by-step, and everything. Oh, well, you can, yes. That's so rad. The iPhone does have GPS on it. It has a GPS that you can use just like a navigation system in your car. What I thought he meant was that he could somehow, you know. Link to someone else's iPhone. It does. Yeah. They'll fire up the program. It shows me on a map where they are with a little arrow indicator. What's the program called? Looped. L-O-O-P-T. Looped. Wow, that's cool. That is really cool. That's cool. Now you've got everything. Very cool. It's the same thing, I think, along the same lines as the Google stuff. Hey, dude, you have an iPhone, right? Are you there? Yeah, yeah. You have an iPhone, right? Yep. Okay, somebody called in yesterday, and I didn't get to them on the request line. I didn't get to them, and they were calling to talk about the...
New iPhone. And I was like, what new iPhone? Do you know anything about a new iPhone? I haven't seen anything about like a 4G iPhone or anything like that. I mean, I thought that this one that we have now is the newest one out. I don't know anything about it. I know Apple stock went up. And so I thought maybe there's something to what that dude was saying. I don't know. All right. Thanks. Thanks, guys. We appreciate it. P1 Peppers is on the line and has a crazy. Man versus food story. Yeah, I will supply Mr. Edward with the peppers if he will do the habanero challenge. Eddie, what do you think? What is it? You take five habanero peppers and you cut them in half and you have to eat each half. I saw him do that. The man versus food guy took habanero peppers and they dipped them in batter and then they deep fried them into this appetizer and he was eating them. So like jalapeno poppers? Yeah. That sounds kind of good. It's a different episode, and he cuts it in half, and he takes it, and each half he sticks somewhere on his face, like touches the oil to his skin, and then eats it. Why would you do that? Yeah. It's because he's... It's the most excruciating thing to watch. Aye, aye, aye. Do you remember, P1 Peppers, what episode that was? What city was he in when he did that? Oh, I don't even know.
I saw it on the internet. All right. Thank you. I do know that the one that I'm talking about where he deep fries the habanero peppers is in Portland and it's coming up. Is that that fritter one? I think so. I think they make them in like a fritter. Yeah. They like batter them or something? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would not do that. That sounds good though. That sounds delicious. Oh. A little ranch on there? You love hot stuff, Mike. Well, yeah, but I mean we're talking this is, you know. Boiling hot. Give it to me. You know what I'm saying? It can't be that bad. Sky likes spicy stuff. She can do the spice. Yeah. She can do the hot stuff. But I have no need to harm myself. Sky versus food. That's right. Sky versus food. Wait. No, I'm good. Mm-mm-mm. That's a bit of tummy. Oh, no. Shut up. Oh, no. P1 Mike Kicks is on the line. Are you there, Mike Kicks? Yeah, what's up, Mike? I wanted to comment about your shaved head, but first I want to say I forgive you. Oh, for what? Oh, because two years or a couple years ago, I stopped listening to you guys because you guys did a news segment about a shooting in Mira Mesa. And then after that, you guys followed through with Yin and Yang. And I called you that time, too. I just want to forgive you. But about your shaved head.
Dude, I don't remember that. Yeah, I think I remember that. He called. He was upset because he said the shooting was his friend and the fact that we had followed it up with yin and yang upset him. Dude, I'm so sorry for hurting your feelings. No worries, no worries. What about your shaved head? Do you ever think you'll grow back? No, I don't. I don't because I don't think that I have the hair, the thick, healthy hair to grow back in correctly. Or I would. Did you, like, highlight it too much and just... Yeah, I think it was the foils. I think it was the foils. Frosted tips. Yeah, I think it was the foils that may have, you know, done something to it. But, no, I don't think so, man. I think it's going to stay shaved, and it's now become my thing. Because I had a shaved head since 96, and I recently grew up. Now I support a pompadour. What does it look like? A pompadour? You grew it into a pompadour? Yeah, I grew it into a pompadour. I had my head shaved since 1960. When my daughter was born last year, I just got lazy, stopped shaving it, and now I have a pompadour. Boy, I wonder what that looks like. What is that? I'm on Ashley's, not top eight, but I'm in one of her millions of friends on my face. It's like Elvis, kind of, you know, like that pompadour, like 50s kind of look. Oh, I gotcha. That 50s kind of thing, like the James Dean thing. Oh. Yeah.
Are you Mexican? Are you white? I don't know if that matters. What's that? I'm Filipino if that matters. Yeah, yeah, because it gives me an idea of what your hair might look like. Yeah. Well, I'm actually on my face. Look me up my kicks. Right on, dude. And Eddie, how do you like Lost? Oh, no. You got to see his face. His face does not. His face does not look good. He just sat back. He looked at Sky and gave Sky a look. What is going on here? It's too early. We're not going to talk about it until we get back. You're going to have to keep listening. After I had first signed up for AIS about six months ago, I called back with the insurance company that I originally had.
to see if I can get a better deal now that I had a quote from AIS. And I talked to them, and they basically told me no. And about two months later, I got a gift card in the mail. And so I called them up to see why they had sent me a gift card, and they said it was from somebody I referred, and they told me the name of the person. I didn't recognize the name at all. They said her name was Amy, and he's like, I don't know an Amy. And finally, she mentioned off the cuff that she just happened to work for the insurance company that I had called for before. So what had happened was... It was the lady that I had called to get a better quote from, called into AIS to get a new quote. So the lady who works for your old insurance company heard that you got a better deal with AIS and she then switched over to AIS? Oh my God. So anyway, dude, thank you for telling us the story. I appreciate it. Nice. I appreciate you. Thank you, bro. AIS is number 1-800-777-4AIS. By the way, I want to give you the AIS. It's AISinsurance.com. We've got some brake lights to deal with now on our freeways this morning. Southpond's out of the 15. Pretty backed up out of Escondido off to 78 down to Via Rancho Parkway. Looks okay, though, once you clear that codges. No worries down the North County shoreline. That's fine for you. The East County seems to be cooperating as well. On the 8th and the 52th. 94 doing okay in the downtown. 805 northbound. Maybe it's a little pocket somewhere around 47th Street. And then a brief slowdown through North Park. You will find some traffic, though, on the northbound 5. A little bit slow through National City. And there was an accident near 28th Street. That's caused a backup around that. And you're going to find some heavy traffic on the bridge now getting into Coronado. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. What's up, Johnny? Two quick things, man. One, thanks for all the info about Sleep Train, man. I just bought mine yesterday. You got a Sleep Train mattress? Dude, just yesterday. Sleep Comfort, man. Oh, you got the Select Comfort. Yeah, the Select Comfort, man. I slept for 13 hours, and I've never done that before. Oh, my God, dude. And I'm telling you, like, I wake up to, listen, it's a good thing, but it's also a bad thing because you're not going to want to get out of bed. You get on one of those mattresses, you don't want to get out of bed.
That's true. They are so damn comfortable. That's great, dude. And they take your old set out and all that? Yep. Yep. That's what they do. That's awesome. Thank you very much, man. To Mikey. When I was a kid, no supervision. I just, I wasn't supervised and I was free to watch whatever I wanted. Eddie. Yes, Mike, I have a gambling problem. No. Sky. Boston Rob. I'm a catch. Come on, Mike. And Ash. Mikey's show is on for 5-3. Oh, my gosh. When I first got married, me and all my bridesmaids danced to this song. It was so great. It was so great. It was so great. Oh, my gosh. Me and Eddie are learning this dance. Are you? Have you guys got anything worked out yet? We're going to do a YouTube video. Yeah, we're going to make a video. I'm very ready for that. I'm very, very ready for that. We've got to find an outfit. Welcome back to the show. It's the Mikey Show. P1Mike, you there? Mikey, you there? Yeah, I'm here. Hey, go ahead, dude.
Hey, dude, I was listening, man, and I heard you call her with the iPhone and your question about the new iPhone. I just moved back here from Hawaii, man, and my buddy in Hawaii is this real big Apple guy. He says there's a new nano iPhone coming out, dude. No way. Yes way, man. A nano iPhone, dude. I don't know how it's going to work, man. I guess a little chip you put in your ear, man. I don't know, dude, but yeah, an iPhone nano coming out. That'd be cool. I just wonder. You know, when I'm considering the iPhone Nano, I just wonder if you can get too small with that stuff, you know? Like, your phone has to have a little girth to it so you can use it properly. Plus, my Nano's really old, and she doesn't know how to use it. No, no, no. No, Eddie. No, that's your Nana. I gave one to Pop Pop, and he was really confused. It's with an O. It's with Nan-O. Nan-O, not Nana. But thank you. We call ours Nano. Well, let's get these two fighting because all I know is... I don't want to. I know you don't, but Sky's not going to like it probably. Well, I didn't see it, but even though I didn't get to see it yet. Why don't you get on board this train? The hateful train? The realistic train. The hater train? No. We're talking about the TV show Lost. I love that show. It's my favorite show on television. What's your problem? Is it stupid?
No, it's definitely not stupid. It's kind of, I'm feeling like Man vs. Wild a little bit. I'm like, give me, I want wow factors. Yeah. I want to come in here and go, holy cow, did you see blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And their reveals last night, they had two big reveals. And I was like, really? Okay, great. Well, last week's episode was super cool, huh? Yeah, I like last week's way more than I like the first, the premiere episode. But I'm back in the premiere boat where I was like... Was it more off-island stuff last night? Part of it is that I'm tired of this let's get the band back together thing. They're trying to get the Oceanic Six together to get back to the island. I get enough. Okay, you've been doing that now for a season and a half. Go back to the island. I'm tired of it. What did you think about when Jen rescued the guy? Well, that was one of the big reveals is that Jin is still alive. Oh, I knew it. I knew he was. Because he blew up on the freighter. Oh, I knew he was. Jin. Hello, Jin. I'm Danielle. Danielle Russo. Wait. Where did Danielle come from? Oh, boy. So they do one of the flashes. Yes. And they come across like a ship wreckage, the people that are flashing on the island. Yeah.
They come across a shipwreckage, and then they show the ocean where there's a bunch of French people in, like, a life raft. And that life raft comes across a body floating in the ocean, and they pull them up, and it's gin. So, like, it doesn't make any sense, like, time-wise. So this is Danielle and her crew when they first got to the island. When they first got on the island, yes. And so, it's just, like, that to me, I'm like... So Jen's been traveling in the flashes too. Apparently. What about Jack telling Kate that Ben's on their side? Yeah, well, here's what's going on with that is that, you know, last week they show, I think it was last week or the premiere, that somebody's showing up trying to take Aaron from Kate. Right. You know, they won't reveal who the client is. And, you know, Jack did this whole thing yesterday where he was looking for who it was. And, you know, he thought it was. Claire's mom, but it wasn't. And so that's what this clip's all about. It's okay. He's with me. He's with you? I know this is going to be hard to understand, but he's here to help us. To help everyone that we left behind. We all need to be together again. It's him. What? It's him. He's the one who's trying to take Aaron. No, no, you don't understand. No, Jack, she's right. It was me. Why don't you just stay away? Why don't you leave me and my son alone?
Because he's not your son. I get the chills listening to it. I don't even watch the show anymore. The reason why Ben is doing that is, I assume, to get Kate to go, you know, to go back to the island. P1HB, are you there? Yes, I am. What's your question? Good. How are you doing? I actually just like time traveling. So even the people in the water would be. So Jen, who is in the water, is also because the whole island and the boat all disappeared. Here's what's frustrating to me about that is, you know, we're following like five characters, right? Like it's Sawyer, Locke, What's-Her-Face, and the other, you know, Daniel. Where's the rest of the people that were on the island when Ben turned the wheel? Like where's Rose and where's the rest of the others and where are they? They're not time traveling. Where are they? Rose? Rose? I don't know. You know, I don't know.
It doesn't make any sense. Yeah, maybe there's stuff, but the others, I guess, aren't time traveling because... Why not? I don't know. Exactly. I don't know. That's right. I don't know. I'm just kind of like... Just accept it, Eddie. I'm trying. Just love it and accept it. I want to. I think Rob and Ashley are part of the others, and I'm not 100% on it. Well, you have a question about Rob. But I have a feeling. Obviously. You guys. I'm not that sure. It's just a feeling I'm having. So, I don't know how you guys feel about the fact that the FEMA food kits that are being handed out may contain some of that tainted peanut butter, you know, that we've been talking about with the salmonella in it and all that stuff. You know, they might. You know, we don't know. It's so brutal. I did not know that. So I just lost my home in a tornado, and now I have painted peanut butter. Thank you. Thank you, FEMA. Perfect. Well, right now the food kits are being given out to people. Leave Obama alone. It's Obama's fault, right? It is not. Stop it. He put the peanut butter in there. Stop it. Right now the food kits have been given out to people in Kentucky and Arkansas because of all those really bad ice and snowstorms that went through there, cutting off power. It was just a horrible situation.
power was gone for so long that people had to be in shelters getting these fema food kits and they say that um you know all of these food kits do contain packets of peanut butter so they're telling people even though some of these people don't have power and aren't watching tv or listening to radio right to throw out the peanut butter in your fema food kit and dispose of any of the peanut butter that's in there just throw it away don't even look at it so hopefully they get the message of course yeah this Peanut butter salmonella thing has sickened over 500 people and may have killed about eight others. Oh. Oh, jeez. Yeah. That's pretty narrowly. Yeah. Horrible. Let's see. There is, you know that guy that, I don't remember what, he was on 40-Year-Old Virgin that stabbed the lady in San Marcos. Do you remember this story? Yeah. And the guy was an actor. Indian. Indian actor. Yeah, he played Haziz. Yeah. 40-year-old virgin, one of the co-workers of Steve Carell's character. Right. He flipped out.
And this was a story from a couple of months ago, right, Skye? Yeah, it happened in August, August 10th, actually. And I guess this woman, the San Marcos woman, had been hanging out with him and dating him for about a year and said that she ended the relationship when he became very possessive and jealous. And he just showed up in her backyard one night and flipped out and is accused of stabbing her 23 times, killing her. the Vista Jail on $3 million bail and was in court yesterday and the judge ordered him to stand trial for the stabbing murder of his former girlfriend. Wow. Yeah. Crazy. Let's see. Oh, there's going to be, just so you know, if you live in North County, there's going to be some noise warnings in effect today because Camp Pendleton's doing some munitions training, which I guess means they're blowing stuff up. Hoorah! Yeah, so today through Sunday, I mean, people who live near Camp Pendleton are kind of used to this stuff, but they say that these explosives may be heard for miles this weekend. So if you're, you know, within a couple miles of the Oceanside area and you hear some sort of explosions. We're being attacked. Don't freak out. They're just doing training. Hunker down. At Camp Pendleton. Eat some FEMA packets. No, don't do it. We need to. Don't eat them. No, peanut butter. Let's see. Okay.
You got robbed. Yes. Rob did a You Got Robbed. I love it. Yeah. And we're going to play the You Got Robbed. If you want to watch the video, you can go to MikeyShow.com. It's available on MikeyShow.com. Okay. Before 8 o'clock this morning, in fact, in about a half an hour, we might be hearing something called Tough Love with Eddie. What? Ever heard of it? Hi there. Then we're going to take him out and we're going to ShamWow him. I can't wait. And we're going to see how much of the Coke we can soak up in the ShamWow. Scientific. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I want to tell you, Frog's Fitness, I just was mentioning that I, am wearing a shirt I haven't been able to wear. It's a button-down shirt, and the brand is called Seven Diamonds. Those things fit tight, and so I've never been able to wear my Seven Diamonds shirt. Ashley has just a smirk. I have a question. Okay, I don't know what this question is, but I'm going to ask you right now, is this going to be some sort of smart-aleck-y? Listen, you're looking real good, right? Oh, yeah, yeah. And I'm wondering,
Can you fit into your Tommy Bahamas yet? Okay, yeah. Then it was a joke. It was intended to be a joke. How is that a... How is that a... She's asking me if I'm going to fit in my Tommy Bahama shirt. How's that joke? Well, I think that's a legitimate question. You were just talking about your four diamonds. I don't wear Tommy Bahama. I mean, Tommy Bahama is another nice shirt. Just like the one you were saying. Yeah. Okay, and then I'm going to go, and then I'm going to go, and I'm going to watch a concert with the dude that wears the parrot. What's his name? Jimmy Buffett. Yeah, Jimmy Buffett. Great. I get what you're trying to do. Wow, Mike. You're very sensitive. Tell you what. Frogs Fitness has got me into my Tommy Bahama shirts. Back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. Mine. Right arm is almost completely sleeved. Eddie. I don't like sports that are judged.
Skye. I'm not a big fan of combining foods. Like, you know, like. Binding? Yeah. Boston Rob. You know me. I love a good tattoo. And Ashley. I don't like to waste food. 105.3. I fooled you. They thought it was going to be my back is on fire. But it wasn't. And it isn't. It's not. It's actually. I still hear it, though. Yeah. I'm singing it in my head. Just so you know, Skye. Hot as Mike Siva. Siva. Siva. Welcome back to the show. You know, we're going to be listening to You Got Robbed here in just a second. We're going to be doing You Got Robbed, where we send Rob out onto the street with a camera and a microphone, and we just have him asking questions to people. I make nice with the randoms, Mike. That's right.
way to put it. I loved it. Well, what he was out asking people this time was about these octuplets. Oh. You know, what does the average Joe out on the street think about? Stuffy, Nutsy, Petey and Heather. Stuffy, Nutsy, Petey and Heather. You know, those are four of the eight octuplets. But what does the average citizen think about a woman That would have eight kids, not married, does it all through in vitro fertilization. And then, by the way, already having six kids. What do people think of that? Ann lives with her mom. It's a bizarre story. So anyway, we're going to be playing the You Got Robbed in just a second. Now, with the top sports stories of the day, it's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. Hi, everybody. Hi. Listen. I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but the Buick Invitational kicks off this morning out at Torrey Pines. Are you serious? Yeah. I had no idea. It's crazy. We got no Tiger, of course. Tiger's still recovering from his knee surgery, but Tiger's talking about how he's feeling. Yeah, I feel good now. I feel it's strong. It's kind of nice to actually be able to swing and not have your bones move. It's kind of a nice feeling. I haven't had that feeling in a long time.
We're looking forward to getting back and competing. I'm practicing full out now, which is fun. And it's just a matter of getting my ball count up. I definitely know how you feel. Wait, I haven't done that. Basically, I've played one tournament since last April. Can I cut in here? No. Hey, Tiger, sorry to interrupt, man. We're trying to hear from Tiger Woods. Yeah, I know, but I heard a phone and I was like, oh, maybe that's my cue to call in. No, not at all. I just wanted to let everybody know that guitar hero with talent. Okay, we don't care. We're talking about sports right now. The Buick Invitational is going on. I'm also working on getting on Tiger Woods 010. Okay, get out of here. Get out of here, Lars. This is not your time. That's when I'm going to be able to use my wood iron. Okay, no, no. You get it. Bye, Lars. Use my wood. Do you have clogs?
Come on. Get out of here. Stop it. Goodbye. Lars, always. So annoying. So intrusive. Very intrusive. So the tournament kicks off about 830, and hopefully we'll give you updates all morning long. The Chiefs running back, Larry Johnson, says he wants out of Kansas City. He says they're in a rebuilding stage, and he doesn't want to be a part of it. He said, pray to me. Get me out of here. What do you think of that, man? I mean, is it a deal where you go, hey, man, have loyalty to the team you're on, or should it be about him wanting to get out of there and make the best for himself? Again, it makes me feel so happy that we have LaDainian Tomlinson who says the opposite. Yeah. I want to stay in San Diego. I want to be a charger. I mean, would you rather have a guy like Larry Johnson who doesn't want to be a part of your team? Dude. I mean, it just blows my mind. Eli Manning say the things that he said and then actually have to be on your team. Yeah, I mean, that's terrible. That's terrible. Yeah, that's gross. The Chiefs also met with Cardinals offensive coordinator Todd Haley about their head coaching job. So that would be interesting to see that happen. And then two days after turning down their offer, Manny Ramirez, agent, is talking to the Dodgers again. Are you serious? So they're still trying to work out a deal for Manny. I think they should talk to the Padres.
I don't think so. Talk to the Padres. You can talk to them. Say the thing you said yesterday. Say the thing you said yesterday. Well, the new ownership with the Padres, Morad, is a former agent and his former client is Manny Ramirez. Dude, what if? What if? Line him up. Never happened. What if he had such a good relationship with him? Here we go. That he talked him into it. No, it won't ever happen. Don't even think it. You heard it here first. Don't even think it. No. All right. A couple days, remember ago, I told you about Kobe Bryant making history in Madison Square Garden? Yeah. Well, LeBron James is like, well, forget that. I'm as good as you, Kobe. Kobe scored like something. He scored 61 points at Madison Square Garden. LeBron goes into Madison Square Garden last night. scores 52, and has a triple-double. What is a triple-double? A triple-double is when you have double figures in the key scoring aspects. So like scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, like those kind of things. That's pretty awesome. So he's got double figures in three different categories. And LeBron also, with scoring those 52 points, became the second player behind Michael Jordan to score 50 twice.
At Madison Square Garden. Are you serious? Man, the nicks suck. They really do. They really do. Rob hates any sports franchise from New York. I'm just saying. And loves to jump on. Hey, hey. Loves to jump on making fun of any sports franchise from New York. Yeah. So it makes me think to myself, well, who's better right now? Is Kobe Bryant or LeBron James better? Paul Pierce. Not even in the conversation. Oh, man. Not even in the conversation. I'm getting over this cold. Who did he say? Eddie, Eddie, if he's not a Celtic, he's not in the conversation with Boston Rob. I mean, the only reason. That is ridiculous. You know what I'm saying? Be for real. Be for real. Who's better, Kobe or LeBron? Right now. LeBron? Yeah, I vote LeBron. You don't. Why? Why do you vote LeBron? Because Kobe had that incident. He had that incident. Yes, he did. It's tough because they both carry their team, basically. I vote Kobe because there's a beef named after him. That's a legitimate point. This isn't a good debate if you guys are going. They should cover this on SportsCenter. Eddie, who do you think? Since you're the only real answer. That's such a tough call.
But if you were to ask me right now, who would I rather have on my team? Yeah, you get to pick. The big three. You know what? It's like dodgeball, and it's come down to these two guys. I'd quit. You're picking. Who's on your team? I'd stab myself in the leg. You don't like LeBron. Hey, Eddie, I'm going to make it even harder for you. You must, while making this decision, take personality out of it. It is only talent. I'm going to take LeBron. LeBron? Yeah. And I'll take LeBron just by a hair. And I'm doing it probably because of his age. He's younger. Really? Is he that much younger? He's probably at least five years younger. So is Kobe Bryant in his prime? Yes. He is in his prime right now. Yes. So it does not continue to get better for Kobe Bryant. It should trail off probably after this season. Really? I would think so. Dang. Slightly. I mean, not like he's going to be terrible. So what we're seeing from LeBron James is not even... Entering his prime. Oh, my gosh. Entering his prime. Do you think that LeBron James will go down as one of the best ever? Yes. You do? I think he'll go down as the second best ever of all time.
To Spud Webb. Yes, clearly. To who? Jordan. Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan right now is universally known as the best basketball player ever. Definitely. More than Magic Johnson. Yes. More than Patrick Ewing. More than Wilt Chamberlain. Yes, dude. Yes. See, I don't know anything about basketball. This is fascinating to me. Yeah, I mean, these are all legitimate names. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robinson. All these guys were amazing. But Jordan. Yeah, Larry Bird's in the conversation. Now, are you guys speaking from a number standpoint? Both. Both numbers. The fact that I actually got to watch the guy play and see him do just unhuman things. Did you see him play against the Warriors? Well, I saw all of his games. I used to watch basketball all the time. Did either of you guys ever go to a game that he was at? Never saw him play live. I've seen him play. I'm trying to think because it was the early 90s. I used to go every year to a Celtics game. I get to see him play once. I never got to see Magic Johnson play with Bird. That was like the hottest ticket to get. And then what was I going to add to this conversation? Something. I don't remember. No, Jordan, he's got two three-peats with the Bulls for rings. Yeah, yeah.
So, I mean, he's got the hardware, as they say. Yeah. That's what they say, Mike. I have never seen a basketball. Oh, no, no, no. I take that back to saw the Mavericks play. Saw the Mavericks play when we were in Dallas. But I'll tell you one thing that everybody would like to experience this once in their life, being courtside, like Jack Nicholson gets to do. Oh, dude. Adam Sandler. Once for my birthday, I think I might have been 13 or 14, and my mom spent some money, and we sat not courtside but behind the basket at the old garden. It was basically floor level, and we were four rows back, and it was against the magic when Shaq was in his rookie years just dominating, ripping off rims and stuff. It was crazy to see. Of course, these guys are gigantic, you know, and just to see them ball. I mean, anybody that's over. I was young, too. I was young. I was young at the time. P1 David. Yeah. How are you guys doing this morning? Good, man. Who do you think is better? Definitely. He answered it earlier. Eddie answered it earlier with the stats.
LeBron, who would I rather have my team based on talent? The guy who can still dish the ball out and pull triple doubles and just not point. But you know Kobe can take over a game at any point. He can. He can, but if you ever see, like, when you watch LeBron fight, if need be, if his team's trailing, he can do the same thing. But I like it because he gets the other four guys in the court involved. Wow, everyone hates Kobe. I can tell you who my pick is. Hey, P1 David, Shaquille O'Neal is right here right now. Hi, Shaq. Shaq, what do you think? Hey, guys, what's up? What are you doing, man? I'm weighing in on your conversation. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you think? Who's better, LeBron or Kobe? Kobe, because, you know, you guys have history. I like LeBron. You like LeBron better than your old pal? What a surprise. Did we just wake you up? Kobe Bryant? No, I was... I'm sorry. What was that? I was awake. You were awake. Kobe. Kobe. Kobe. I mean, uh... That is Shaq. That is Shaq. Shaq, Shaq. I know you hate him. Hey, Shaq. Yeah. You sound a lot like Zeth. Too soon? Too soon. Too soon, question mark? Too soon. Too soon, question mark? Too soon. Later. Thank you. Goodbye. That is Shaquille O'Neal. Hey, David. Thanks for the call, dude. That was really good. No problem. Take care, fellas. Appreciate the phone call. One last call. P1 Instant Classic. Hey, what up, Mikey?
How are you doing? Do you have a question for Shaq? No. Actually, I wanted to comment on this LeBron-Cobie debate. Who do you think is better? Okay, I have two things. One, LeBron has yet to hit a game-winning shot. So, Kobe is better than him on that. And then two, LeBron doesn't even have a ring yet. That is the one. I think LeBron's hit game-winners before. That's not true. That is not true. Now, hold on a minute. Now, hold on. Wait a minute. Now, hold on. Wait a minute. But LeBron does not have a ring, and that is key. But he's going to win. You've got to admit he's going to win one, right? I don't know. Come on. Thank you, though. I mean, if he's that good, he has to. He's the best player in the NBA. How can he not win a ring? Okay, I have a question for you. I have a question. Wait, wait, wait. Instant classic. Question. Yes, sir. Who has better players around them, LeBron James or Kobe Bryant? Well, that's irrelevant, but. No, you didn't. Oh, shit. Okay. You can get four monkeys to play with LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. See, now, I disagree. I don't think you could put four actual monkeys around LeBron James. Michael Jordan won rings because he had Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. Horace Grant. Yeah. Sean Paxton. Yeah, yeah. Okay. All right. Thank you for the call. You convinced him. Eddie, I think you convinced him. No doubt. Oh. Whoa.
Snap it. There you go. Snap it. Snap it. All right, thank you. Snap it. This is You Got Robbed. Yeah. You know what You Got Robbed is? It's Boston Rob out on the street asking guys questions, or girls, whoever's there, asking them questions about what's happening in the news. That sounds ridiculous. It is. It is. And this week, he's out asking people what they thought about the lady that had the actuplets. Oh, man. Now, Sky, this is a 31-year-old woman, right? I think she was 33. 33-year-old woman. Yeah, early 30s. And she's not even married. No. And she had in vitro fertilization to have six kids before. Mm-hmm. And then she has eight more. Yes. And she's not married. She loves other mom. Yeah. Ridiculous. Yeah, all through a sperm donor. All through a sperm donor. Yeah. And so Rob was out there asking people what they thought about it. And three, two, one, go me. Steve Wilson. Steve, I've got to ask you. Recently, this lady just had octuplets. She has a total of 14 kids. What is your opinion on family size in America? What do you think is appropriate?
I think the smaller the better because you get to give more love with a smaller amount of kids. With that many children, you just don't have a lot of time. There's only so many hours in the day. So to try and cover it properly and really give the love needed to raise a child properly, you need a small family. I agree with you. I used to have six brothers. Now I only have two. I pawned the other four off for a wife-beater that Ben Affleck wore in the movie Good Will Hunting. I got it on right now. As you can see, you want a smell? Do you want a smell? I had it on that day, so I had to take half my shirt. You can see the video at MikeyShow.com. No, you want to see this. You traded four of your siblings for a Ben Affleck-worn wife-beater. The thing is sick. The thing is sick. Sounds like it was one of a kind. Check the opening scene. He's got the jumpsuit. Did you guys hear that? That's how he opens it. No, no, no. There was nothing there. La, la, la. Can we just get a clip of that so many? I don't think we can. No. And I'm live. Boston Rob is out here with. Joel. Joel. Recently this broad had octuplets. Now she's got 14 kids. I was curious. How many kids do you think it's appropriate to have? As many as you can realistically afford, I guess, and have time to parent, you know.
And this broad really can't afford these new eight kids, so you think it might be inappropriate? I think so, yeah. You should, you know, not bring kids in the world if you really can't deal with them. Well, come on, let's think about it. If you get eight kids all farting in a bathtub, you got yourself a homemade jacuzzi, right? Yeah, or like some kind of kid suit. You got wrong. I mean, really? Hey, I didn't say the kid's poop thing. Those were the points you had to make. Yes. I need to get my opinions out there. All right. Really good. I'm expecting life. I'm inspired. La, la, la. La, la, la. I think I like that. La, la, la. What I'm about to tell you, I know when I tell you this, you're going to go, that cannot be true. But I'm telling you, it is, and we'll get details. During a talk about malaria, Bill Gates decided to release mosquitoes to illustrate. Talking about malaria. I've heard this joke. What's the punchline? I'm telling you, I'm telling you that when Skye was telling me the story, I was saying to her, is this real? And she said, yes, he really did. And we'll give you details. And also, Tough Love with Eddie is next to both of them.

The ride's getting a little bit tougher here out of Escondido in the South 15. There was an earlier accident near West Bernardo Drive. It's cleared out of the way now, but it does create a kind of backup around that from the commute traffic coming out of Escondido. Now slow on the South 15 from the 78 over Lake Hodges. The coaster ride's not too bad, just a brief delay through Encinitas. The east kind of looking pretty nice, though. The 8 and 94 are clear. Westbound 52, just a minor delay coming up the hill out of Santee. Both the 5 and the 805 northbound, though, is seeing some heavier traffic out of Chula Vista up in the National City on these freeways. The 5 is especially heavy again as you come in toward the bridge. Actually, both sides of the 5 getting to the bridge are all jammed up as that bridge is a full span back up now onto the island. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. It had this, like, giant noggin, and it was small, and it was weird. Okay.
San Diego's Rock. The Mikey Show. With a Mikey moment. We got an email that says, I may have missed it, but it's such a prime opportunity to mess with B-Rob that I can't pass it up. Please read his blog on designer jeans from yesterday. It says, one time I bought chick's jeans on accident. Yes! Where were you? I was at Nordstrom. And they have like, you know, they... After a while, they can't sell certain designer jeans. What's that section called? The brass plum. I was not over there. Oh, no. No, but I was at the brass rail. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105.3. Is Bill Gates nuts? He's passionate. It's 721. And, yeah, Bill Gates.
Was giving a lecture, I guess, guys. Is that the deal? Yeah, in Long Beach yesterday. And he's talking about... First of all, why is Bill Gates talking about malaria? That's what I don't understand. Why is the owner of Microsoft talking about malaria? Well, it's one of the key... With a computer program? Computer virus. Get it? Get it? No, malaria is one of the key projects of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. And Gates actually retired as head of Microsoft last year so he could focus more on his foundation. So he's all about, you know, donating money and mosquito nets and trying to help cure malaria across the world. So he's giving this conference in Long Beach yesterday and holds up a jar full of mosquitoes, unscrews the top. Let's them fly out and then says to the crowd, malaria is spread by mosquitoes. I brought some here. I'll let them roam around. There's no reason only poor people should be infected. And then paused about a minute.
And then reassured the audience that none of the mosquitoes he just released actually have malaria. Oh, okay. Well, then that's cool. Then that was a funny joke. He paused for about a minute. I would have thrown my chair so hard at that dude. Does it really say that he paused for about a minute? It says he then waited a minute before assuring the audience that the mosquitoes don't have malaria. That didn't cause a panic? Like, I would have thrown my chair. Dude, seriously. At him. I would have robbed him. I mean, obviously, I would have thought. I would have been like, you give me malaria. I'm taking your wallet. I would have thought a crime was just committed. I would have. I would have committed a crime. That is so weird. Hey, there's no reason only poor people should be infected. That was his point. Well, thank you. So why don't you sting yourself, you jerk? Why don't you go get malaria? We should all be infected. Yes. We should. Yeah, that's the way to eradicate it. Infect everyone. Infect everybody. There's no reasons why only dogs should have parvo. That's right. So he releases parvo germs? Yeah. Crazy. Create a rabid German Shepherd. Do you think that he's going to have to apologize for that? Like that he'll go, oh, I shouldn't have done that. He'll just give them all a million and he'll be like, it's cool. Yeah, I mean, listen, he gives me a million. I was there. I apologize for him. That means...
Well, it means healing is about to begin. You know it. We do a segment called Tough Love with Eddie where Eddie, who I have known for well over 20 years and who I know to be a guy to shoot from the hip. He's a guy's guy. And let me tell you something. He doesn't mess around. He's not going to tell you what you want to hear. He's going to give you the truth. He's going to tell you straight. And he's going to give you tough love. Well, Mike, if you have an open wound. Yeah. Do you want a little Hello Kitty Band-Aid on it? No. Or do you want it to be properly sutured? Well, first of all, Eddie, what I want is I want it to be disinfected is what I want. Absolutely. I'd like some anesthesia before you stitch me up is what I want. Sometimes we don't have time for that. That's right, Scott. You're bleeding to death. We will make the time. You're bleeding to death. I don't care. You have spider bites. That's right. Eddie, our first letter reads, Hey, Eddie, I got a tough problem. I can't find work. I got laid off like a lot of people last year and haven't been able to find another job. My friends all tell me I look like a young Matthew Broderick. Do you know of any lookalike business? What? I think that would be a fun job. If not, is the radio station hiring? Hook me up. That's P1 Patch.
In Lakeside. Wow. Eddie? Dear Ferris Bueller's Laid Off. Oh, you know what? You're in luck, Patch. There is a huge market for goofy-looking Matthew Broderick-looking guys. It's crazy. I was at a party the other night, and they had three Brodericks and one James Spader. Awesome. Now that's a party. Actually, I'm telling you. Oh, my gosh. So, now, I do have a question, though. Are you more War Games Broderick or Biloxi Blues? There's a huge difference, guys. There's a huge difference. Now, let me know, and I'll hook you up with my agent, depending, of course, on your answer. That's right. Because if you're War Games Broderick, I don't know. So, anyway, Ferris, here's the deal. Yeah, it is. I'm sure you were too busy looking for your Sarah Jessica Parker to realize that the radio station may not be hiring right now. We just lost two people on our show.
Too soon. Not very sensitive. That's right. That is correct, Eddie. But if an opening for an out-of-work Matthew Broderick look-alike pops up on the job board here in the kitchen, I'll be sure and give you a call, buddy. You never know. You don't need to be that way. He's asking for a job at the radio station. We just lost Shannon Zeff. He was just asking. It's not very nice. Eddie, our next letter reads. Yeah. Dear Eddie. This is tough to admit, but I'm 29 years old and I still can't grow a full beard. Dude! It says, I can grow some stray hairs in the face region, but it looks nothing like a beard. Everyone always thinks I am 18 years old and I'm embarrassing. I shave every single day, sometimes even twice a day in hopes that the hair will fill in and I can look my age. I know that my Irish heritage might play a part in it, but do you know of anything that might help me grow some facial hair? I'm a desperate man. My face is like a baby's bottom. Please tell me if you know of anything or something that I can do. Thanks, bro. That's P1 Patrick in Encinitas. Eddie? Dear Beard Science. Yes.
So you're telling me your face is smoother than Sky hitting on a black guy, huh? Smooth. That is super smooth. That is smooth. Smooth. All right, I'll talk directly to you, Boston Rob, since I know you probably wrote this letter. That kid's face can't figure it out either. Honestly, it looks like Steve Carell's stomach in 40-Year-Old Virgin. Long, gross hairs growing in, patchy all over the top. It's weird. Can you at least grow a neck beard? You know what I'm talking about? No. You've got to grow a solid neck beard. Make that thing so thick and hairy it looks like Cat Stevens is climbing out of your shirt. No one will ever question your age again, Skye. Or you can maybe try hiring that woolly mammoth Robin Williams to stick around your neck. You can act as your beard. These are all good.
In all seriousness, if Michelle Rodriguez has more facial hair than you, that's sad. She's a lady. Have you seen her mustache? She's beautiful. A little bit of a mustache. It's definitely happening. You're probably just a victim of genetics, and that sucks. But try some face Rogaine or maybe get a hair transplant on your face. Or better yet, get a tattoo of your hometown on your neck to cover up your other deficiencies. I heard that word. Hey. I like that. I like that. Yeah. Hope that helps you, Jane. I have a friend like that. I have a friend like that. Oh, you do? Yes, I do. Oh. I can't say his name. His initials are Boston Rock. Wow. Dude. You're a jerk. Let me give you a... That's no way to talk to Mike. I just can't grow a full beard. I can grow stuff though. I'll say. Hey. Can't grow a half beard. This last letter reads. This last letter reads. Eddie. Oh, yes. Two and a half months ago exactly. You and Mikey and Sky were having a lively discussion about those whom wear deodorant and those whom do not wear deodorant. Okay. At the time, I considered calling in, but upon further thought, realized it was futile. You tend to be somewhat hard-headed in terms of your viewpoint. Oh, me? That is so accurate. Me? So true. You're speaking? And any argument I would make would only be ridiculed.
However, in light of the current administration's attempts to adapt our environment to sustainable resources and less harmful PVCs, I think it's only a matter of time before even you realize that deodorant is simply unnecessary. Signed, P1 Tom. Shut up. Any advice? Oh, wow. Dear pencil neck wreck. Thank you. You're smelly. Oh, wow. Hold on. Before everyone starts getting all huffy, let me explain. Tom doesn't wear deodorant. Technically, this makes Tom gross. Hang on. I don't know that. Technically, it makes him gross? I don't know that. I'm being scientific here. I'm not putting any personal feelings into this. Okay. Tom doesn't wear deodorant, right? Right. Okay, technically this makes Tom a jerk. Again, you don't know that. Are we all in a room? Exactly. Boom, you're roasted. I understand that Tom is an oddball. I understand that Tom thinks deodorant is going to give him warts or something.
A bunch of studies have shown that Tom is freaking nuts. That's not true. You don't know that. There were studies done. It's a fact. I mean, just last year in the New England Journal of Deodorant, they released a paper that said Tom smells like the bottom of a cowboy's saddle. After a gallop. In alcohol. In August. Okay. I get what you're saying. With Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger riding shotgun. Hey, too soon. Too soon. Too soon. Too soon. Bye. Thank you and have a good night. Thank you. The worst. Yes. You hear that? What? You hear that out there? No. Listen, you're not hearing it. I'm telling you, it's out there. Yeah, it's loud and clear, buddy boy. Yeah, that's right. Buddy boy. Can't you hear it coming up Ruffin Road? No, Mike, I don't. It's a sound of healing. Come on, Ferris. Stupid. Oh, you're welcome, San Diego. Podcasts of the Mikey Show. That's a tough ride right down to South 15. Pretty jammed up out of Escondido from El Norte Parkway all the way down to Via Rancho Parkway, a little farther south to northbound 15 that mirror makes a boulevard. There's a six-foot...
Pipe straddling two lanes here, so be careful with that. The coaster ride, South 5, has got some heavy traffic now out of La Costa and the Solana Beach. Westbound on the 8th, that's looking good for you. Just a brief delay near Greenfield, East Main Street in the Cajon Valley. But from there, it's a good-looking ride all the way to Mission Valley. The West 94 King Freeway, just a minor delay at the 805. Then a few more break nights in the downtown. Tougher stuff, though, out of the South Bay on both the 5 and the 805 northbound. Then at Jula Vista, upper in the National City, as the 805 continues very heavy up towards around Home Avenue. So is again out of Kearney Mesa with a 52. And Northbound 5 is seeing a busy ride getting to the bridge and then some heavy traffic on the bridge getting into Coronado. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Boston Rob. I'm a romantic. I can't help that. And Ashley. Wake up! It's going to take up. It's going to take up. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Welcome back to the show. Calm down, Michael Fultz. Just because you guys hear a little Bob Marley doesn't mean that you have to start striking up the air ball. It is for this microphone. Ridiculous. He's going to pass out, dude.
The one guy on the show that has never smoked weed is the guy right now that is doing the weed. Thank you. I'm a great pantomime. That's right. That's very awkwardly, though. I really get into it. You are so weird. All right, so Sky and I are going to have to get into it about Obama here. Fight. All right, here we go. Ding, ding, ding. What's your problem? Well. Yesterday we were on the same page. I know. A lot of times we are with Obama. Okay. I mean, listen. I tell you, I've said that I don't think that people should either be completely conservative or completely liberal or whatever. You've got to kind of see a little of both sides, you know? I feel you. You've got to look at what is being said and you've got to kind of think about it a little bit. Think about it. I'm not sure completely where I am on this thing.
is a very democrat and liberal thing to do and that is that he is imposing the will of the government upon private citizens now before i go on i'm going to tell you there's a big part of me that says well yeah i mean this kind of makes sense here i mean listen to obama's words explaining it this is america we don't disparage wealth we don't begrudge anybody for achieving success And we certainly believe that success should be rewarded. But what gets people upset, and rightfully so, are executives being rewarded for failure, especially when those rewards are subsidized by U.S. taxpayers, many of whom are having a tough time themselves. For top executives to award themselves these kinds of compensation packages in the midst of this economic crisis isn't just bad taste, it's bad strategy. And I will not tolerate it as president. Now, here's my question, Sky.
What are the details? Yeah, well, okay. So, yeah, before you jump to it, you should know the details. You should know what he's actually referring to. Jump to it. Yeah. He's referring to executives of companies that receive bailout money, federal bailout money. Yeah. So if your company needs federal bailout money because it's doing so bad, he wants to put a cap. on your senior executives that their salaries be no more than $500,000. I love it. What's wrong with that? That's awesome. Yeah. Mike, what's your problem? Why do you hate America? Yeah, Mike. Wow, there was some viciousness in your voice there, Skye. I love that. Skye was a little upset. She's usually able to make that a little less noticeable, but on that one... She's on that. She's on that. She's on that. She's really on one today. No, so are you with that plan? Well, first of all, I wanted to know... Who are we talking about here? And I wanted to know an actual number. Yeah, and we're talking about the companies who are going to get this second wave of federal bailout money. More bailout money? What do you mean second wave? That's what they're working on right now. The House has approved it. The Senate is... Where have these kids been? Does he not on the show? I just watched...
the teases of the news at night? I don't actually watch the news news. We talk about it on the show. Yeah, it's like $900 billion. Okay, Rob. It's about $900 billion that they're proposing. Here's my $900 what? Billion, right? In these salaries? Mike, have you listened to the show? It's my fault. In my left ear, I got Jeff and Jer on. Here's my problem, Sky. First of all, do I think that it's unfair that these yahoos from these companies that are getting bailout money are taking these extravagant vacations and bonuses and blah, blah, blah? Sure. I think that this is hyperbole on Obama's part. Let me explain. We're in a lot of trouble. We're in a lot of trouble. We are in a crisis situation. We need to have a lot of money generated. And what I mainly get out of that is that it sounds much better than it actually does. It sounds real cool because you're saying,
We're going to take these guys and we're going to limit their salaries to $500 million a year. $500,000. $500,000 a year. $500,000 a year. Okay, thank you, President Obama. I'm sure that when you add all those up, it'll definitely put a dent in that problem. No, it doesn't really put a dent in the problem. But I'll tell you what it does do. I'll tell you. No, it doesn't. It's better than just saying, here you go. Do whatever you'd like. Give yourself as many bonuses as you wish with our taxpayer money. He wasn't talking about bonuses. And by the way, if he were talking about bonuses, I would say, you know, listen, what are we bonusing here? See, because when I first hear it, I think to myself, it isn't it isn't fair. It isn't fair that. We're in this situation that, by the way, they got us in, these banks. You know, a lot of them. And so is it right that they are going on these lavish vacations and doing whatever and blah, blah, blah? No, I don't think that's right. But I think that President Obama is very, very good at doing some things and saying some things that make the American people go, heck yeah.
Good for you, brother. That's awesome. I agree with you in that regard. But in this instance, I have to say I agree with Skye. Save that clip. Save that clip. I know. Save that clip. You saved that in this instance. Add him up. That's not the point. The point is if you're going to ask the government for bailout money because you failed, then that's fine. We'll help you out. It comes with some specific rules that apply. One of them is that your top executives can't make over this amount of money because then you're just stealing from the government. That's not right. I want to say that Sean was telling me that there is already something in place that limits salaries. And that these dudes are actually making all the dough in bonuses and stock. Well, that was in regards, I believe, to the auto industry. Because remember, the auto industry guys were like, I will work for $1 a year. And then we were talking about how they get a lot of money through bonuses and stock anyway. That may be true. But you think it was in regards to everybody? Yeah, because I want to say what we were talking about at the time was GE.
All right. Oh, yeah. Oh, boy. Blunder said to me. It kind of creeps me out when the government is setting people's salaries in the United States of America. But it's in regards to the money that they're giving them. I think that's fine. I don't think they should have any right to tell me, who's a business owner, what I can spend or how much money I make or anything like that. Yeah. But if I go. please, sir, may I have some money? They have the right to go, okay, we'll give you money, but you're capped out at this because if not, you're stealing the money that we're giving you. It's like if you're a kid and you are like, Dad, can I borrow some money? And then, what, the dad's just going to give you the money? Even though the money that he already had given you or whatever you had already had, you lost it and you were irresponsible. You messed up. So he's just going to give you more money and just let you go do whatever you want with it? Well, he'll give you the money, but he'll say... With no consequences or no rules or regulations. He'll say, you know, I'm only going to give you $10. Okay. Here's the analogy. Here's the analogy. Yeah, explain it to me like a mate. Rob only watches the teases of the news.
You're a kid, you're a kid, and your mom and dad give you a salary of $10 million. That's a lot. You're a kid, your mom and dad give you a salary. Sounds like my parents. Shut up. Growing up, talk about it. You're a kid, your mom and dad give you a salary of $10. Yeah. Okay? And you mess it all up. You have your $10, and you're put in charge of a lemonade stand. and you misappropriate your 10 bucks and you jack it all up and the lemonade stand is like going bust and uh so you gotta fix it okay and your mom and dad are really the ones that are like they're they're kind of the investors of the lemonade stand as it were and they say to you what is going on here you know we're we're really messing up here we we need to make some dough so you as a kid you go to the neighbor you say Hey, can I borrow some dough? I got to borrow some dough here. I messed it all up. And the neighbor says, yeah, okay, we'll loan you some money. How does, if your employer wants to say to you, you screwed this up. I gave you, I put a very valuable thing in your hands. You jacked it up. Sorry, I'm cutting your salary. That's one thing. But the neighbor giving you the loan, they're going to tell you, they're going to now enforce your salary.
This is the United States. I think these guys are jerks. I think these dudes in the banks are jerks. I think they messed it up. But I get creeped out when we, as a government, start telling people what they can make and what they can't make. But aren't we now partially business owners too? Now that we're basically funding their company through our bailout, aren't we now? They're basically an investor. And they're going, if I'm going to give you all of my money, I don't, you know, I'm taking a risk. What Sky just said is a really interesting point because technically we're a part of their salary now. Let's say if I'm Wells Fargo. Because it's to be like the whole neighborhood pitched in, right? To get you out of this. If I'm Wells Fargo and I ask for, let's say, a billion dollars and I get the billion dollars, who's to say I can just go, all right, I'm the CEO of Wells Fargo. I'm going to take half of that. Wait, wait, wait. Hang on. Time out. These guys had a salary. Let's say that their salary was $8 million a year. That CEO's salary was $8 million. And they're saying, we messed this thing up. We need a bailout to get in there and fix the mess. What you're suggesting is that they said, my salary is $8 million a year. We need to fix this. Give me money.
The money came in and they went, ah, yes, now I make $10 million a year. They could do that. Yeah. Okay. Okay. There were no restrictions put on the deal. The first time, yeah. Then if that is the point, then wouldn't the president say, hey, listen, you can't take this as your salary. I'm okay with that. That's what he's doing. No, he isn't. Eddie, these guys are making $8, $9, $10 million. He's saying you make $500,000 now. Right. He's putting restrictions on it. So he's not doing what we just said. If they were making $8 million a year before. That money that they're getting is to fix the problem, not to add to their salaries. And of course, I would be down with not them adding more to their salaries. But he's saying you went from eight mil and now you're making five hundred thousand. And that's the government doing it. And that creeps me out a little bit. I'm OK with that. I think if it's. Yeah. If you screwed it up and you need to bail out, you shouldn't be making eight million dollars. You'd be lucky to have a job at all if you screwed up your whole company. And I think I think. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think that's a good point. And hire somebody back at $500,000. I'll do it. I'll do it at $500,000. I can do it. But that, I have two different sides of it in my mind. Like, for one thing, I think that's a really good point of, like, we're investors now. You know what I mean? We're investors now. So this is kind of a situation where we can have a say in it. You know what I mean? Although we're not voting on this.
hey, dude, I don't care what your salary was. You're now going to be making $500. But we voted him in charge of the government. But that doesn't mean that he can say, I've decided that radio personalities, you guys make too much money, too. I didn't even know. I had no idea. We're not taking money from this. The House and the Senate are involved in these decisions. It's not just Obama saying whatever he thinks. I get it. I get it. And I do like the argument that we loan the money. You know, we have some ownership in it, but it creeps me out when the government starts doing this. And if also if you think that these guys are now like taking a big hit, these guys are getting paid outside of. You know what I mean? Like their their money is in other stuff. I would be 100 percent, 110 percent with you if government. started going to companies that were not being bailed out, going, you know what? You're really profiting in this time. Yeah, that's... And, you know, you can't profit that much. You know, I'd be with you. But if the government's giving them the money, government regulate that money. They need to. They should be able to make whatever rules they want. If they start going around to random companies now, that's when, yeah, I'm moving to, you know, Saudi Arabia or somewhere free. Saudi Arabia! If we make...
That's free, right? If we make $5 a week and we hear about somebody that makes $20 a week, we are always going to say, you don't need that much. Always. Every time. No doubt about it. Now, somebody that's making $1 a week sees your $5 and says the same thing about you. So that's just one thing to keep in mind. It's all relative. It's all relative. What does that have to do with the... the government giving them the money. I don't understand where you're coming from. I have the same thought of what is their salary? I don't care. They could have said your cap is at $1 million or your cap is at whatever. Just that they're capping them. I don't care what the cap is. That's not my point. My point is...
If you're going to ask for a handout, if you're going to say, we need your help, government. We need your money. The company, not the individual. The company. The company, not the individual. Yeah, yeah. These are like the heads. These are the people making decisions. They have the right to say, OK, that's fine. We don't want you skimming off this bailout money. So then your cap is this. So that you have to use this money for what you're intending and what you're asking us to. How are they skimming off of it with their already in-place salary? Because they shouldn't be making that much money if they're asking. Says who? You're asking for a bailout. Says who? They shouldn't have that kind of salary. They're asking for a bailout. Okay, so in other words. That means you're asking for help. If they're a successful company, fine, make whatever you want. For sure. But if you're asking somebody else for money. You know, it's like giving somebody welfare money and letting them spend it on whatever you want. That's why we do like food stamps. So you're guaranteed to spend that money on milk. Let me ask you this. Let me ask you this. If you're asking for a loan from the bank for anything, anything. Yeah, they have rules. Yeah, they do. And so if you're asking for a loan from the bank, can they say, wait a second, we're about to give you this loan and we're getting information here. And it says here that you drive a really expensive car.
Yeah, we'll give you money, but you can't continue to have that car. Yeah, if you have a loan out on a really expensive car, they won't give, you know, depending on your credit, they won't give you. That's why they, like, appraise your house before they, like, buy it. Okay. You know, if you go in for a business loan, you have to show a business loan. You have to show a business plan. You have to show all your figures to get that loan. And it's kind of the same thing to me. Let's take it apples for apples then. Let's do the analogy for exactly what it is. Hey, listen, Sky, you make $10 a year, okay? And you're asking for a loan. And I think $10 is a lot. So, yeah, I'll give you the loan. But you know what? Guess what? We're going to cut your salary. You know what it would be like if I'm going in for a loan and say I need a loan of $15 to start my business. And they see on paper that my salary. You're not starting a business. Your business is failing. You need a loan to help it. Okay. Okay. And then I show them my business plan. I need $15. And they see that my salary is $10. They're going to say, no way are we going to give you this loan.
Your numbers are all out of whack. There's no way that we're going to... But we did. We did give them a loan. We did give them a loan. It's already happened. Well, yeah, but we're talking about what Obama's doing now. This has nothing to do with the Bush administration. This is the upcoming new stimulus package that hasn't been doled out yet. Yeah. I don't think you're getting my deal, and that's frustrating, but I understand what you're saying. I think that we have a... that says you guys make too much money. That's not it. That's not the issue. It's not it. From my perspective, it's not it. My perspective is if you need the government's help, if you need the government's money, then you need to abide by whatever they say. Okay, we'll help you save your business. But you got to abide by these rules and not spend money doing Las Vegas trips or crazy salaries for your CEOs or all this stuff. You have to fix. the business for the people, because, I mean, we're being screwed over by the banks, you know, foreclosing on houses and doing all these crazy things, then you've got to fix this. And that's what you've got to use this money for. You have to. Or else we don't need to pay. You don't get our money. Yeah. Take it or leave it. Yeah, exactly. Take it or leave it. What about their airplanes? They should be gone. Okay, what about their cars? If they bought them with their own personal money before they asked for money, there's nothing I can do about that. But if it's a company...
you know, limo or whatever. Well, they're still making payments on the car. Done is done. I mean, I can't go back and make the giveaway. Yeah, and that's their personal payments. What's done is done was their salary. Their salary was set. And now you're going to cut it. Who's to say they have like a contract that's like... Who's to say they don't? I don't. I don't know. Let's pretend that they don't. Let's pretend there's no contract. They have a car. They have a big mansion. Are we going to take the mansion away? No, but with a new salary, guess what? Figure it out. This is a recession. You got yourself into the situation. You want our money. Get out of that mansion, man. That mansion payment is like... $400,000 a month. And guess what? If you can't afford it, just like the guy down the street from me, that his house is going for sale. Okay, so we take it, right? No, you don't take it. It's up to him. If you can't afford to live there, then you should move out. He has to figure it out, just like everyone else. He can't afford to live there, except that you're going to cut his salary. Right. As the government. Hey, he's lucky to have a job at all. Yeah, he should be fine. What about all the other employees? I think that this does sound like, you know, oh, it's easy to say. It's easy to say, because we're not in this situation.
I think that there is a accountability. Yes, yes, yes. None of these lavish trips. None of that stuff. Totally. But man, it sounds kind of strange when the government's adjusting people's salaries. To me. Then they shouldn't ask for the government's help. Yeah, they shouldn't be getting government's help. But they're not asking as an individual. They're asking as a company. He's the leader of the company. All right. Let's take some calls. P1 Sniff. Or wait, no, this is Eric. Yeah, how you doing, Mikey? What's up, man? All right. I got a couple of things. First off, I totally disagree with you, Rob. If I'm making, I own my own business. So if I'm making 125% profits just because of the economy, I don't think I need to give a percentage to anybody besides me. I went to college for eight years. I've built up my business. I am not going to give any of my money to the economy. When did I say that you should? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Eric, we're talking about these executives for the banks. Government bailout programs. That's it. Government bailout employees. If you start asking for government money, then guess what? Yeah, things are going to change. If you own your own business and you're doing great, more power to you. Yeah, make as much as you can, dude. You don't owe anybody anything. I'm for that. And then my second point was, and I do agree with the whole CEO thing, they don't need to be making $9 million a year. But we don't need to be a hound on them. I mean, for like...
You only need to make $500,000 a year. Now, whoever asked for the money, like, say, Wells Fargo, right? That's one of the companies? Yeah. Correct? I don't really follow all that stuff. But, I mean, they've gone to college. They've worked for all this. I mean, why are we hounding all the people who have money? It always seems to be the people who are like, I haven't gone to college, and I don't have all this great job, and I'm making a million dollars a year. It's not true. There's so many people with college degrees who are unemployed right now. Their homes are in foreclosure. How about this guy? I mean, it's not fair. It sucks for everybody. You're the news girl, right? So you're a journalist. You went to college or whatever for journalism? Well, I went to college, yeah. Okay, let's say you did a false story, all right? And then they say, you know what? We're going to slash your price, your salary by 50%. Would you agree to that? Well, if Sky is asking them for a loan, if she's asking for a bailout... Then they can go into any part of your life? They can say, okay, yeah, we'll give you a loan, but you're now going to make this much money. I think my thing is, like, if Wells Fargo is asking for money, then Wells Fargo can have things enforced on Wells Fargo. And I see what you're saying, Eddie. You're like, well, that is to include salaries.
That's to include salaries. I think that that's where we have a disagreement, except I would say maybe moving forward, maybe moving forward. Hey, listen, you know, you cannot continue to hire executives at a salary of. I feel like the people that are already making a salary, I'm really against people losing money in their salary. I don't want people going out and spending on lavish trips. I think that's inappropriate. But to cut somebody's salary. I think there's something that is very un-American about cutting some of these dollars. Is it possible that he's kind of saying, Obama's going, we're going to give you $900 million or $900 billion. Only use $500,000 of this to pay yourself. Is that what he's doing? What about the guys that already have a job? They've already got it. He's saying, hey, man, out of this $900 million,
Because this is my money or, you know, this is the U.S.'s money. I want to give this to you. But I'm only saying that you can use this much to pay your employees or whatever. Because the rest, the reason for me giving this to you is to solve the problem. You know, and that's what it should be for. Not for salaries. Time to figure out, get some more jobs back. Not keep your own job. P1 Sniff, you there? Yeah, I'm here. What do you think? Well, you guys touched on a lot of things, and I just wanted to bring up the point about the salaries. If you just Google, like, any one of the CEOs of those banks, like Ken Lewis, for example, from Bank of America, this year he's not taking any bonuses, nor are anyone who directly reports to him, all his senior advisors. But his income is only a million dollars a year. But if you look it up, like he gets like 10 to 15 million a year in the bonuses. See, I think that's what it is. And that's the thing that I seem to remember this conversation with Sean. It was an off air deal where Sean was saying these guys, their money is tied up outside of the salary. Exactly. Which may make all of it a moot point. You know, I don't know. I think that I seem to remember Sean saying that they.
There's something about their salaries, and I don't remember what it was. Right. Well, they make the bulk of their money based on the performance of the company, which they should. So if the company does well, they make a lot of money because they have really difficult jobs and, you know, they're responsible for a lot. And the shareholders are the ones that hold them accountable to that. Are you making too much money? Yes or no? Well, how well did the company do? Do you deserve to make that much? And the computer just started. P1 Stephanie agrees with Sky and Eddie. Oh, Stephanie is not there. P1 Trashman. Yes. Go ahead, man. Mikey, what's going on? What's up? Hey, I think in reference to what you guys are talking about, I was reading in the paper last week, and the big executives on Wall Street received about $18 billion in bonuses during this recession. What he's basically saying is that these guys, you know,
Hey, if you do a good job and you're successful and you've got everything going for you, man, you can make all the money in the world. But guess what? You guys are the big top executives here, and you guys screwed up. So you should not be rewarded for that. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, now you're talking about bonuses, and what Obama's talking about is their income and their salaries. Well, I think it has to do with... I think it has a lot to do with... I remember reading in the paper last week about the bonuses, so I thought maybe that was more what it was about. Well, that's what spurred the discussion because so many people were outraged by, hey, how did you get all this federal money in a bailout, but then you're going to take some of that money and give yourself all these big bonuses? That doesn't work right, and so that's why they're trying to work out these new rules for the next time we give out the money, and this is one of the first rules to be announced.
is the $500,000 salary cap for senior execs. In fact, I'll go as far as to say this. I'll go as far as to say this. Let's say that these guys are making house payments and everything, and they're doing it all on bonus dough, okay? The very spirit of a bonus is a reward. And there should be no reward. No. In fact, there should be a penalty. There was egregious errors made here. So there should be no reward. I have an issue. With salary. I do have an issue with salary. And I especially. It really does upset me. The stuff that occurred after that bailout. That stuff turned my stomach. I don't understand how. Their salary. Could stay the same. With what is going on with their companies. How is their salary.
staying where it is. How about all of us? How does all of our salaries stay this way? We're all in trouble, right? And we've seen the losses. And you know what? And if... If our company starts to fail even more, it's going to affect us even more. Maybe as Americans, we should all stand up and go to our employers and say, hey, listen, we're in this thing together. Can you cut my salary by 20%? If your company's failing, I guarantee... They cut Sean and Zeph. I know, but what about us? That's part of it. What about us? We're still working, too. And we didn't have a say in that. They're not asking for a bailout, though. We didn't have a say in that. Well, Mike, some companies are doing what you're saying. They're saying either everybody needs to take a 10% cut or we need to lose X amount of people. Some companies are giving their employees that option. Why don't we do it? Our company did not give us that option. Right. Why don't we do it, though? Why don't we all march upstairs today and say you should cut our salaries by 15 percent? Because they wouldn't care. What do you mean they wouldn't care? Corporate Clear Channel wouldn't listen to five people saying that we want to cut our salaries. As a nation, why don't we stand up and say cut our salaries by 10 percent? We're all in this thing together. That's a great idea. And Obama was encouraging people to.
to go to their employers and to say that very same thing. He was? Yeah, I heard him say it in a news conference, you know, instead of losing jobs, let's, as employers, let's figure it out. Let's maybe see if people can work one day less a week or maybe if people can take a pay cut. That's what is happening in the news. We're reading stories every day. Of people getting laid off. And people stopping to work. What I'm suggesting is that people volunteer to go. Nobody's going to do that. It's very, listen, my point is that it's real easy for us. a lot of times to go, yeah, man. This is part of our money. We're paying these funds off. If Clear Channel asked for a bailout, because they're a huge company, if they asked the government for a bailout, it would really break my heart and bother me that if our CEO, his salary stayed the same and we lost Sean and Zeth and got our salaries cut and all this, that would really piss me off. Doesn't it? upset you that our CEO at Clear Channel is already making a gnarly amount of money? Yeah, but he's the CEO. He's not asking for a bailout, though, so I can't. That's my point. Let me ask you, does it bother you? No. It doesn't bother you that he makes that much money and we just had to lose some people? Oh, yeah, it does bother me. That bothers me. And see, I think it's that nature in us that is the core issue. And I think that
Obama knows that. He knows that we're all emotional about it. Everybody in the United States right now is emotional about what's happening. I am too. We're all emotional. It affects everybody. There's nobody that hasn't been affected by it. And what I think would be appropriate is some real solutions to it. This stuff, I think this stuff sounds really good. But I don't think it's accomplishing much. In fact, I don't think it's accomplishing anything. But I know that you've heard this, dude. Beggars can't be choosers. And if they're begging for money, they can't choose how the people that are giving it to are going to say you can deal with it. And you know what I say that they should be not being able to choose? They shouldn't be able to choose lavish vacations at the Wynn Resort. They shouldn't be able to choose their own salary. They've already been getting paid. They've already got a salary. Well, we're just, we're going to go over the right. I know. Here's somebody else that does not agree with me. This is P1 Whoopi. Hi, Whoopi. Michael, you are on my last good nerve. Oh, no. Oh, no. Okay, first of all, I think you're missing the point here, dear. Talk to me. Dear Michael. We have to look at it in two folds. First of all, everyone got upset.
when the first bailout happened and there was no accountability for what these funds were going to. Me included. I was with that, okay? I was upset too. And we were outraged when we saw that after all these layoffs, from all these Wall Street things, these CEOs and senior management still took group trips, got... A modified bonus, but they still receive millions in bonuses. Turns my stomach. Hate it. So what the president is now saying is, you know what? We're going to this next package goes out. We're not going to have this. We're going to take a look at everybody and the senior management level. And we're going to say, first of all, we're going to put a cap on the salary. So it's a five hundred thousand. Because what happens is if your salary is at a certain at a certain amount. We'll be there is no second of all, though. There's no second of all. And you didn't fix the problem that you just named. The first problem that you named was that these guys got a bailout and that they were getting these big bonuses and all that. And I said, you got it. Yes, I'm with you. I'm with you. I'm with you. And so if.
If Obama had come out now and said, Obama did not give that first bailout. That's the Bush administration. I understand. I understand. We can't change that. We've got a second one now. We've got a second one now. And we're setting that structure so that there are multi-tiered levels of accountability. Whoopi, I'm with you on accountability. But he's not being accountable for the actual problem you named. Let me illustrate. Let me illustrate. In the first problem that you named, you said that they got bailout money and then proceeded to go on extravagant vacations and give themselves extravagant bonuses. I think that that's disgusting. So now that the second rollout is coming, I think that we should address that. No more extravagant vacations, no more extravagant bonuses. But what we're talking about here is not that. We're not talking about extravagant bonuses. We're talking about salaries. Part of the salary and the bonus structure is based on salary. So that if I'm making a million dollars, my bonus percentage is going to be based on that. So if I'm limited to this. Let's add that to the first part of the problem then. The first wave was lavish vacations, lavish trips, bonuses, and salaries.
I don't think salaries was the issue. It should be. I don't think it is. It obviously is, or else why is Obama making it a cap? Because it sounds great. I don't think it is. Eddie, I think the real... Listen to Ruby. Michael. Look at what happened to Clear Channel. You just lost 10% of your workforce there. Your senior management isn't cutting their salary. However... By making those cuts on those people and from that first caller, which is a blatant idiot college degree. Okay. Thanks, Bobby. These people that got let go, okay, to fit that bottom line, to make those numbers hit that target in that percentage so that for their Q1 number to show an earnings profit, your senior management is still going to get a percentage of bonus because they let these people go and it's tied to a number. Now, should they get that bonus? That's the ethical question. No, I'm not down with bonuses. And by the way, that's where their dough is coming from. That's the real dough. What the government is saying, Michael, what the government is saying is we're going to try to put a limit on that. We don't want that to happen. You're letting people go and asking us to bail you out. So we're going to set this so that we can say, OK, we're comfortable with.
We know what your senior management made, and we know that in business there are tough decisions that have to get made, but you're still not going to have this lavish bonus and salary to base off of. You're going to have to work just as hard as everybody else, even the boy in the mailroom in your company, to be accountable for the money that the taxpayers, the people who are busting their butts every day, many of which are now laid off to accommodate this to happen. There's nothing wrong with that. We want that. This isn't just lip service. And before this rollout happens, you're going to see that it's not only going to be about salaries, but it's going to also be tied into bonuses. It hasn't been announced yet, but it will. Well, I'm down with bonuses. I'm down with the idea of bonuses. I think there's more announcements to come. I think bonuses is the real issue. I really do. I think bonuses is the real issue. I agree with you. But the salary, you have to start with the salary because if I'm the CEO and I hear someone say, you know, I asked for this billion dollar bailout and he's cutting my salary. Now I've really got to get my ducks in a row because if he's going to do that, he's also going to put restrictions on the bonuses. And now I have to be accountable. So I can't just come in and say, well.
We took this money, and we made, you know, we didn't hire anybody, so I'm entitled to $18 million in bonus. No, you're not, because now you have to be held accountable, and this is the first way to say we're not playing this game with you. You're just not going to blindly take billions of dollars from the American public and go about your business. It's not going to happen. Well, listen. This is the first step. Listen, Wubitha. I love you, and I appreciate the dialogue. See you tomorrow. We'll talk to you later. There she is. I love Olivia. That's great. She's the best. We're a little late. Yeah, what happened? We're a little late. What happened? I enjoyed that. I enjoyed that. I think it was a good conversation. Oh, that was exhausting, Mike. It's interesting, though. I need a nap. Let's see. We have got, we got, there's so much more about the Christian Bale freakout, and Rob is going to be, he's going to be sham-wowed. Wait a second. We're going to stick. You know what? Let's do that next. Please. I'm ready to go. We're going to put Rob in a Speedo and a helmet. And we're going to stick him in some Coca-Cola. And then we're going to have him get a vat of it. And then we're going to try to sham well and see how dry we can get him. We'll do it next. The Mikey Show is on. Great. Is there a problem, officer?
Do you know why I stopped you? Well, I'm the new spicy chicken enchilada platter from Taco Bell. So unless you're craving two spicy chicken enchiladas, seasoned rice and beans, chips and chunky salsa for dinner, can't say I do. Wow, you do sound delicious. But that's not the point. If this is about tickets to the policeman's ball... The point is that enchiladas usually take forever. And yet you're ready so quick. I'd say there was speeding involved. Well, there's certainly no law against getting your enchiladas faster. Not to mention, I don't even drive. Tell it to the judge. Say some enchiladas just happen to find their way into your squad car. Would our little problem go away? Uh, what problem is that? Taco Bell's new spicy chicken enchilada platter. Smothered with warm, zesky red sauce and gooey melted cheese. For enchiladas at the speed of Taco Bell, think outside the bun. At participating locations for a limited time. Valentine's Day, just nine days away. Southbound side of the 15 is very slow from the 78 down to Villarancho Parkway. We've got a new accident here eastbound 78 on the ramp to South 15, which is backing up traffic around that as well.
Heading south on the 5, there's a busy ride from La Costa into Solana Beach. The east county's looking pretty good. The westbound 8's looking fine in the Mission Valley. The westbound 52, though, jammed up out of Kearney Mesa as you come underneath the 805 through San Clemente Canyon. And both the 5 and 805 northbound still have some stuff to deal with out of Chula Vista up in the National City. 805 slows on you again out of Kearney Mesa over the 52. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwood 053. How would you guys like to see that? See San Diego's Rockwood. When I was a kid, no supervision. I just, I wasn't supervised, and I was free to watch whatever I wanted. Eddie. Yes, Mike, I have a gambling problem. No. I mean, Skye. I mean, we all know, and you really love Boston Rob. I'm a catch. Come on, Mike. Mikey's show is on. That's official. It's the gayest bit we've ever done. Wow. I mean, and then some. I mean, this is the gayest thing ever. People are trying to come.
Really? Rob said don't stare too hard. You'll get in a car accident because people are driving by slow laughing and looking at Rob out here in a Speedo. And his pierced nipples. And the cement is too cold, so he's like hopping off the cement into the Ivy. I was doing Twinkle Toast. Yeah, you were. Where is your wiener? Okay. Eddie, Eddie. Right now it's an innie. Okay. Rob is standing outside and back at the radio station in a Speedo. I don't want him. It's cold. Well, we're doing this for science. We're doing this for science. Clearly. We are going to have B-Rob get into a vat of Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola Classic. Coca-Cola Classic. It's not. It's not. What is it, Eddie? It's Pepsi Max. It's Pepsi Max. Yeah. Right on. We wanted to step it up a notch. Well, Rob was concerned about the calories. What we're going to do is test the ability of the ShamWow to be able to soak up liquid. Yeah. Oh, this is so gay. Well, as you, if you've seen the commercial before, you know Vince, he handles everything. You know, he even wears the headset in case he's taking calls as they're coming in while he's recording the commercial. Yeah. We actually have a picture that you will squeeze the Shamwell excess liquid into like they do on the commercial. Oh, wow. It's product testing. That's awesome. Ashley just looked into the. There's got to be like 40. At least.
At least it's a lot of Pepsi. Don't drink at all. I heard it's good for your skin, though, so I'm happy to do this. Let's do it, then. Can you not bend over like that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whoever's window is right there, I feel really bad anymore. Hey, Jeff and Jeff. How about pick your thong? All right. How about pick your thong? All right, Rob. We got a winner. Little Tommy's taking pictures. All right. Okay, Rob, are you ready to get into this? I don't know, man. Get into the vat. It's going to be cold. Get into the vat of soft drink. Quit crying. Yes. Oh, my gosh. He almost dived in head first. He's getting in. Oh, he's in. Oh, that was cold, right? Oh, that was cold, right? Oh, my God. Oh, he's chattering. Oh, he's chattering. Get down in there. Get down in there. Do it quick. Get down in there. It smells awesome, Bo. Oh, now the nephys are in. In your stomach? Get down in there and get out. Don't get more. I went to the nip-nip line. I went to the nip-nip line.
I got to get out now. Shamwow you. Shamwow me. My butt's hanging out. So please pull your feet away. Oh, wow. Did you see something you should have seen? They were right about the slippery one. Okay. This is all being recorded for the website. How did I get it? Get it, Eddie. I'm really wet in this region. Right here. Eddie. Eddie. I don't want to do this. Eddie. Okay, here we go. Lower. Lower. The absorption. Dude. Wow, that's good. I hear Olympic swimmers use these. He has very well-defined breasts. They're pecs, Mike. No, those are breasts. Okay, there he goes. You don't bend over like that, Rob. He's now bending over. He's like a center in the NFL. And he's the quarterback. All right, here we go. Blue 42. Blue 42.
People can see you. This is so hideous. Stop it. It works awesome. Is it working? Dude, it is absorbing everything. Look at this. He's dry. And that's just one big one. Let's give the ShamWow to Rob and let him dry himself. I'm actually having a good time. Yeah, I'd rather him. Look at it. It is working like a charm. Let me get under your arms. Ew. Okay, that probably smells. Don't wipe away all the door. That's so gross. That probably reads. And he's ShamWow-ing his back. He's getting under his arms. Oh, man. You are going to be a great parent. What did you say? You are going to be a great parent. He's really babying you. You're really good at this. It's all right, Mike. I'm fine. I'm fine. Don't get too close. I might go. This is the gayest man ever. You guys haven't crossed first base. An Amish country. I got to tell you, that ShamWow is awesome. We only used one. He's completely dry. Bone dry. We only used one, and it's not even, like, fully soaked. Well, he's chattering. He's chattering. You know, can you dry your legs? Your legs are really grossing me out. Your legs are really... He's shaking. The fact that his legs are so wet and hairy is so gross. Yeah, we got to get him inside and next to a warm fire. Get him by the hearth. Get him by the hearth. I just need Eddie and a Snuggie.
You know, we can't even wring this thing out because it's absorbed everything. And it's not like soaked. I thought it was going to be soaked. It's not. Have you really gotten your legs and everything? Kind of. I got to get my feet, but my feet are dirty. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why are you talking like this? Because I'm freezing. Have we gotten enough pictures? Back in the tank. Because I'm so grossed out. to do it again. Are you kidding me? You're so cruel. You're a cruel lady. But we didn't even use like half of one ShamWow. It's not a real test. Eddie, Skye, she's so cruel. Well, you know, he kind of gets at her every once in a while. Oh, really? Maybe this is your opportunity. What has he done just his head? Oh my gosh. Yeah, will you accept that as a plea deal? Eddie, will you, like, hold him like a baby and dip him? I would love to. Okay, all right, all right. Smashley is going to hold your microphone. Yeah, let's see. And Rob is now, he's got bull head, by the way, from having his baseball cap on. Yeah, yeah. He's got, like, bull head. Look at that. You've got to be kidding me. I just had to wipe off the chair because it's wicked slippery, and that chair, like, it's dry. I soaked it right up. You get this camera guy. All right.
Eddie, can you help him and, like, hold him and make sure he didn't fall in? Can I use the chamois? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hold the chamois. Hold the chamois. Hold on. Hold on. Here we go. All right. Here we go. Eddie is now. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Let me describe. Okay. This is like a girl throwing up in the toilet and the guy is holding the hair back. That's what this looks like. All right. All right. Rob is dunking him. Oh, jeez. Rob is dunking his head in. Eddie's dunking Rob's head in. Okay. His head. Okay, Ashley, chamois that. ShamWow. Wait, not the dirty one. He's got a soaking wet head. This is going to be the best video ever. We've got to send this to Vince at ShamWow. We should have got YouTube out here to record this. Oh, my gosh. Oh, dang it. He's dry. He's dry. We're drying his head right now. Just like that. ShamWow! I can't wait to watch this video. Well, it's proven. It works. It works. It works. Dude, we can't even wring out the ShamWow. It's soaked up every single bit. You don't need to, Mike. Dude, he was completely submerged. I know. This movie is awesome. Can we get paid from ShamWow for this? They should. Okay, so what should we do, Eddie? Should I go back inside and then we... Oh, we can go to break. All right, all right. Let's take a quick time out. We'll be right back. It's Rock 105.3.

And Ashley. I support sweat everywhere I go. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Christian Bale stuff is still out there. The Christian Bale stuff is still a gigantic story. It seems like... I saw it on the news again last night. You did? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, the guy freaked out. In case you haven't heard. I don't know how you couldn't have heard about this by now. But Christian Bale, the actor...
That's going to be in the new tournament. He was Batman, right? Nope. He was Batman in the last Batman movie, The Dark Knight. And Batman Begins, right? Yeah, Batman Begins. And he was also in a movie called, that not very many people know about, called The Machinist, where he got down to like 86 pounds or something. I don't know. Yeah. So he's a good actor. He's a method actor. And apparently... What's the latest, Sky? What are we talking about with it now? Well, so yeah, so on the set of Terminator Salvation, he had this freak out that was caught on tape where he goes off on one of the directors, I believe the director of photography, because he stepped into the scene while they were filming and like just lashed out. He uses like 40 F-bombs in a total of like four minutes or something. And so the whole thing was caught on tape and this happened a while back. Well, the tape was just released to the press this week and we played it the other day. Excuse me, the latest is...
is that the directors have come out defending Christian Bale and saying that Christian Bale is a method actor and that he was in character and, you know, it was an unfortunate thing, but when he's that deep in character and the heat of the moment, these things just happen. Well, not to that extreme. Well, I wouldn't think so, Mike, but that's what the directors are saying. I don't think that those things happen to that extreme. Yeah, it was pretty crazy. It was very sensational. Yeah. And I think that it upset a lot of people because you shouldn't be talking like that to anybody. Yeah. Let me tell you something. This is Neil Diamond. Yeah, here we go, Neil. Let me tell you something. What's going on? Uh-oh. I want to tell you that some tapes came out of me that were very embarrassing and I was able to. Is that right? I was able to squash these tapes. I don't remember. Is this something that happened in the 70s, or is this a current thing? As a matter of fact, Eddie, yes, it did. It happened back in the 70s, and it was a big scandal. It was before all of your times. I don't remember these tapes. It was before the days of the juice tubes and all this stuff that you can go on there. That's not a thing. You can watch it. It was way before all these days. Okay.
And it was called the Neil Tapes. The Neil Tapes? Never heard of that. It was very embarrassing. Me yelling at my fat little tubby manager, Maury. See, you haven't learned your lesson, apparently, because you're still insulting the man. It's the guy sitting over there in the corner with his blueberry typing to people. Maury, why don't you put the tape in and play it for everyone? Maury. Tell Randy to turn the trouble up. Hurry up. Maury, take your headphones off. What are you listening to? A pow-pow hour? What is a pow-pow hour? Come here, fat man. Take off your sweats. Are you stealing money again? You're stealing money from me. You've cheated with my wife. Maury, come here. Let me talk to you. Come here. You want to start a boxer company? Is that it?
It looks like you're wearing adult diapers, you mess case. What's the matter with you? You are a baboon. Come on, stand up. I'm going to do the Clint. I'm going to do the Clint. Stop talking. I can't hear you anyway. You're behind glass. Stop talking. I'm going to be Clint Eastwood shooting the monkey. You do the orangutan. You fall down when I shoot you. It was embarrassing. You couldn't say those things. It's a human being you're speaking to. That's supposed to be your friend. Put the other one in, Maury. Oh, there's more? There's one more. Let's do a little crackling here. We're going to sell a live album, but we're actually going to record it all in a studio and make it seem like that. Maury, do me a favor. Dance me some Joe. And make it snappy, fat man. What are you doing? What is this? This is supposed to be coffee? Looks like motor oil. You creep. Are you a baboon? Look at me, fat man. Look at me. Are you a baboon? Maury is a stupid baboon. Is that a velvet jacket you're wearing? You're my manager. You're going bowling. What's the problem with you? What's your problem? Get out of here. Yes, it was embarrassing. I mean, that's been your friend, your manager. He's been by your side for years. Yeah, but he doesn't know anything.
You're so abusive. He doesn't know anything, and let me tell you something. What? He had this stupid idea a couple of years ago that I needed to wear cut-off jeans and a candy cane necklace, and I did it. I don't remember seeing that. And he was booking me at all these clubs. I couldn't find one girl there. It was all boys. Oh, no. That's weird. And there I am trying to pick up on the girls and the starlets and nothing. Yeah? Wow. But I did meet my second husband there. Oh, here we go. Here we go. I don't mind at all. I'd like to perform for you. Warming up the pipes there, lady. Where's the headband, girl? You know I like that sucker. Where is it? Oh, man. Where is it? No, I was actually talking to Rob. I'm going to rock a little song about Christian Bale, if you don't mind. Oh, really? Yes. Oh. I'm sitting, I guess. The stage, just no flash photography. There is no stage. Can somebody hold my cape? I got it. Chrissy Bale went far. He went too far. I think that guy went far. That guy wants to be mean. He sounds like Charlie Sheen. I don't know.
And every time I hear that clip, go into the fetal. And every time I hear him yell, I cry and start sucking on my thumb. I cry and start sucking my thumb. I cry and start sucking my thumb. I could get this out of here. That little dude in there is so sorry. He is so ridiculous when he yells at that thing about his ladder. Sorry, Neil. You deserve better than that. You bunch of mushroom-popping crack addict creeps. You're all so cool, aren't you? In your Nordstrom rack jeans there. Well, just Rob. Leave it at that. Is that the homosexual guy in the Speedo over there? Here's a song just for you.
This is a good one. Let's rock it. Yeah. You ready to do this? Absolutely. Come on. Christian Bale frightens me. He makes me feel like a sissy. And I like him. And I've got to pee. Wait. And he frightens me. He makes me scared. And there ain't no freaking. I would work with him. Work with him. Work with him. On Batman. Let me tell you something. Okay. That guy snorts glue, and I know it because I was with him one time. You don't know that. You don't know that. Then get out of here. Somebody knows how to use the wicket tube over there. I'm so mad right now. Somebody getting dialing up some wicket tubes on me. Ridiculous. What? That's so stupid. You're a bunch of horse pill popping. Wait a minute. Well, Sky kind of does that. Just that one time. Nursery song listening screw jobs. That's what you are. Stop it. You're a bunch of.
Hippie toddlers? Hippie toddlers? It doesn't make sense, Neil. Yes, it does make sense. No, it doesn't. Let me tell you something, you bunch of creeps. Stop calling us names. Well, I know you've all got tapes out there yelling at Christian Bale, too. No single one of us has yelled at Christian Bale a time or two. What? Yeah, well, there was that time at Walmart. I was freaking out. I was in there, and I heard that they had some sort of blue light special on heroin. So there I was with my old wife. We're sitting there trying to buy a bunch of jujubes while we're in there. Is that slang? And before you, listen. Here we go. I'm going to do a little song for you. This is where we get going. You guys can all sing on backup if you want. I will. I have a real hairy back. And B-Rob can sham wow me. And B-Rob had a small one, baby. She realized the FCC has laws to be seen and stuff. Are you serious? Come and sit on my lap, young man.
All right, let's talk about Valentine's Day. Now that we're in the mood. Neil got us in the mood there. Very romantic. He got us in the mood for love. Obviously. Valentine's Day is next week. Woo! Talk about it. Yeah. And you want to hook your lady up with really nice flowers. And you can try and do the kind of lame thing where you get the person selling flowers on the corner. And you're like, oh, yeah, it's Valentine's Day. I got to get flowers. No, no, no, no. Don't do that. Got to go with Pearl Flowers. They're rated the best value by Wall Street Journal, so you're guaranteed to have a great bouquet of flowers when you order from Pearl Flowers. I have asked him about it yet, but he has been acting really funny. Like, he's been a little short.
with me lately. I don't know. Watching Martha Stewart. Yeah. Manicures. Yeah. All right. Let's all calm down a little bit. Do you The Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105.3 Disciple. Disciple? Disciple. They're like an 80s Christian band that does like, well, they do like an 80s routine. Oh, really? Kind of like the band, it was a band that did the spaceship and the videos and the, What are they called? The thing about love. I believe in a thing called love. The darkness. The darkness. There you go. There you go. There you go. That's right, dude. So, let me ask, do you guys think about the FBI reviewing the 1982 Tylenol stuff? Really? Why are they doing it, Skye? Well, because of advances in forensic technology. Now, do you guys...
Ashley and Rob, do you know what we're talking about? Not really, no. Ashley's 25, Rob's 26. Eddie, do you know? Sky, do you know? Not until I read about it this morning, no. I remember this when I was a kid. It was the first of its kind and flipped people out. I remember my parents being so scared because what it was was the Tylenol capsules. You know how you can pull them apart? Well, Somebody was going and taking the Tylenol capsules and opening up the bottles. And back then, they didn't have the protective cover. You know how now when you buy a Tylenol bottle, when you buy any kind of medication, there's a protective seal. And you push your thumb through it to break it. And if it says, if seal is broken, please return to point of purchase or whatever. That is because of this. Oh, yeah. It wasn't like that. Back in the day, you'd buy a bottle of Tylenol. You'd open up the cap and there was the medicine. And what somebody was doing is they were going in there and they were putting poison in it and they were killing people. Oh my gosh. With Tylenol. Yep. And so now Sky's saying that they're going back through there and they're figuring it out.
Yeah, well, I guess seven people died in the Chicago area because it was cyanide that was put in these pills, and they're now looking into it. No one was ever charged with the deaths. They did suspect this one guy who actually ended up doing time in prison because he sent an extortion note to the Tylenol makers demanding money for him to stop doing the killings. But then he claimed that he actually, like, was just writing the coattails of the media story, like he actually wasn't the killer. He was just, you know. trying to get money out of the deal, but he still did time for extortion. It's kind of weird that somebody that would do that wouldn't do it again. In some way. You know, because those people, they usually, unless they get incarcerated or die, they're usually pretty wacky and they keep doing really weird stuff. Unless you're the Zodiac. That's right. And what do they say about the Zodiac? They say that dude probably either died or he ended up in prison. You know, otherwise they keep doing it. That's right. They're wacky. Now, wait a minute. That's Batman. This is Batman. Now, the top sports stories of the day. It's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. All right. The Buick Invitational going off right now at Torrey Pines. Phil Mickelson's going to tee off about 10-10, so in about an hour. I know everybody always looks forward to it. You're the man!
Why are we clapping so daintily if you're just going to scream like that? Because there's always me. Okay. Yeah, I'm always out there. And he says there's always one guy that yells out, you're the man. Yes. And get in the hole. Yeah, it doesn't matter if it's a par five, 500-yard shot. Right. Get in the hole. Really? Yeah. Really? You don't know. It'd be the most amazing shot of all time. Veteran NFL coach Dan Reeves was real close to a deal with the Dallas Cowboys to be an executive. But the deal completely fell apart when Reeves was uncomfortable with his job title. Really? Yeah, apparently he was going to be like a senior executive consultant. Yeah. But Jerry Jones wanted him to be part of Wade Phillips' coaching staff. Wow. And Dan's like, no, I'm not going to be an assistant coach. Right. Like, I'm, you know, kind of better than that. Right. So I guess the deal is completely falling apart now. Court documents show Barry Bonds tested positive for three types of steroids. And his personal trainer once told his business manager in the Giants clubhouse how he injected the slugger with performance-enhancing drugs, quote, all over the place. Are you kidding me? What? Yeah, apparently these court documents have been released to the public, and there are all kinds of crazy stuff coming out about Barry Bonds. Asterisk. For real, right? Well, it makes me, you know, I mean, that definitely raises the question, again, you know, does Barry Bonds have a place in the Hall of Fame?
And I just, you know, it's such a hard debate. What do you think? I don't know how you have a Hall of Fame and don't have the all-time leading home run hitter in it. But, you know, you don't have the all-time hits leader in it either. Pete Rose isn't in the Hall of Fame. You know what makes it kind of tough is that you have to try to figure out, well, what were the steroid years? You know, and then you got to, you know what I mean? And I think that's what this era was. It's the steroid era. And so it wasn't like, you know, it was one or two guys. I mean, it was probably half of the baseball population that was hitting against pitchers that were juiced. Absolutely. I mean, you look at what Roger Clemens has done and other guys, you know, that have been questioned about this. And, you know, it is weird that Mark McGuire isn't, you know, even being sniffed at the Hall of Fame right now. It's just weird. It's 100% because of that. Baseball writers are looking at that and going, well, you were cheating. But everybody was. So what do we do? Not put anybody? So we're not putting Sammy Sosa in. We're not putting Mark McGuire in. We're not putting Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens, who's won a billion Cy Young Awards, we're not going to put him in the Hall of Fame? Really? And Barry Bonds, the all-time home run king, is not going to be in the Hall of Fame?
Mr. Red Sox, you think your dude should be in there? Clemens? With everything that's going on with him now, dude? No. I mean, it's a fine line, dude. It's tough, like Eddie said, you know? What do you think? Do you think guys like Curt Schilling weren't juicing and stuff like that? I mean, give me a break. Really? I 100% believe that. I don't think they all weren't, dude. Some of these guys were doing stuff. But there are, I mean, there are some guys that it's just very obvious with, and then there are some that, you know, maybe it's not obvious. Like, I was thinking about even Manny, because I've seen, like, I mean, you look at him when he was an Indian. The dude was as big as me, you know, and now he's a monster. I thought he's always been Dominican. That really threw me off. He's from India? No. And how do you go from being an Indian? Cleveland Indians. Does he mean Native American? No, no, no. You guys are embarrassed. Oh, man. Now I'm embarrassed. I guess we're all just kind of embarrassed. Well, let's do this then. Let's take some phone calls. 570-1053. What do you think? Should he be in there? Should Barry Bonds go into the Hall of Fame? I'm going to go out there and say no. Please, Rob. Really? Yeah. And you know what?
If they test and Curt Schilling, you know, at the height of his career when he was with the Diamondbacks. Oh, what a jerk. Because I know he didn't do it with the Red Sox. But if he was doing it with the Diamondbacks. The guy was leaking steroids out of his song. That was blood, you jerk. He was blood-doping. P1 Skins fan. Hey, Mikey. What's up? Hey, I just want to make a comment about all these guys taking steroids and their place in the Hall of Fame. When you think about it. Look at P. Rose, his legend as being famous kind of took a hit when he got busted with gambling. The same kind of thing with Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. They're not really famous in terms of baseball, if you think about it, now that they're tainted with all this talk about steroids and doing things illegally. It's not the, are you a good guy, Hall of Fame. Yeah, it shouldn't be. It's the Baseball Hall of Fame. And there's the debate every single year. Should Pete Rose be in the Hall of Fame? So what are we going to debate every year? Should Barry Bonds, should Roger Clemens, should Mark McGuire, should Sammy Sosa, should all these guys be in the Hall of Fame every year? You know what? Just say no. Just like, you know, to drugs too. And just say no to letting them in the Hall of Fame. What are you saying?
If that's the way... The message has already been sent, bro. If that's what the message is, then stick with that and go, guess what? You're not in the Hall of Fame. The more people that we're coming after, I don't know. It's never been said. It never has even been hinted that Ken Griffey Jr. juiced. But what if he did? It was in the same era. It's not really about the numbers with them. They do something for baseball and all these little kids look up to these players. If they're looking at these players taking steroids, why are you going to put a Boston Cooperstown for those guys? There's no place for them in the Hall of Fame. Wait a minute. But doesn't there, I mean, are we really going to call it the, you know, moral, is it the moral Hall of Fame? If it was strictly about the numbers, yes, but it's not. You look at all these people that get in as being ambassadors to the game. Why are they in? What did they do numbers-wise? See, now that's the thing that I would say maybe isn't right. Part of it is the moral Hall of Fame, dude. Under Jackie Robinson's plaque, I was reading, they just, like, redid his whole plaque to include all the civil rights stuff that, you know, he did for the game. There's so much about that also. You can't just go by the numbers. It's glorifying. But Jackie Robinson had the Hall of Fame numbers as well. Well, yes, he did. Absolutely. It's the Hall of Fame. I mean, these are people that were...
You're glorifying what drugs can do for you on the field. Well, but he did civil rights things for the game. You know, they're not listing what people did civil rights things for the community. You know, they're talking about the things he did for the game. It's all about the game. And Barry Bonds, at the time he tested positive for those steroids, those steroids were not illegal in baseball. That's a very good point. That's the other argument. Okay, if it wasn't illegal, then you know what? It may not be fair advantage, but it wasn't against baseball's rules at that time. Wait a second. Eddie, are you saying that he could have said he took steroids and just been honest about it and not faced any penalty? No, because the public opinion would have. Right, right, right. But that's what he would have faced, right? Yeah. But legally, he would have been okay, right? If he would have gone on the stand and said, yeah, I took stuff that at the time baseball didn't penalize you for, he would have been fine. But now his problem is because he lied. Well, now he's facing the very thing that he was afraid of, public opinion. What would have been better, to have done what he did or to just say, yeah, I did it, you know what? And it wasn't illegal at the time and we don't do it anymore. Right.
But, I mean, either way, he would have gotten lambasted. Either or. Well, not either or. No, no, no. I thought it was either or. No, it's not a choice. It isn't. So it is not a choice. No, it's... Regardless. You don't need to help me. Regardless, right? If you're going to put them in... Irregardless. Irregardless. Put it in asterisk. Okay. I can only breathe out of one mouth for... Maybe it's because you're putting steroids in there. Oh, oh, oh. You're not supposed to snort them. P1 Joe Pa. Hey, what up? P1 Joe Pa. What's up? Nothing. Do I call him off the steroids and everything? Yep. Go ahead. Bottom line is you're hitting a round ball with a round bat. And, you know, it's not helping your anti-clination or anything. I think the only difference is you're hitting the ball halfway up the stands instead of in the base. No, I thought some of those dudes were actually hitting it out of the ballpark and they couldn't before. Like crushing it out of the ballpark. And not only that. But repeatedly, Barry Bonds went from hitting 30 home runs a year to hitting 60. Yeah, that helps you get to that mark. Yeah, it doesn't give you the talent, but it gives you the power. He had the talent to be in the major leagues without steroids, no question about it. But it gave him the strength to hit home runs. And Roger Clemens gave him the additional mileage on his fastball because he was stronger. And they were taking these HGH stuff to heal quicker from their injuries.
No, that's true, but, I mean, like you said, Eddie, though, everyone, everyone, I mean, almost everyone's doing them, though. I mean, I am. Rob, you're not doing them. I don't play baseball? No, you don't. No, no. You should. You should look into it, actually. I'll do it. You know, dude, I was a big fan of Randy the Ram. And when he started taking him, I think it was probably. You're ridiculous right now. You're a piece of meat. That's a movie. I gave a lot to the end of his career. I think that was probably what. You're just a piece of meat. You're just a piece of meat. It's a movie, bro. P1 Saints sauce. How are you doing, Mikey Show? How are you? Good, good. I had a little bit of minor league baseball experience. And, you know, to judge some of these guys, the ones that get caught on this issue and the other ones that fly under the radar. that's just where it's hard to draw a line because there's so many guys that had taken, you know, the substances or whatever, never got caught for it. They get into the Hall of Fame, no big deal, but the ones that obviously get caught, they're the ones that get persecuted. Yeah, and I, you know, listen, I think that they were doing something wrong, but I think that they were still, I don't know. How would you feel?
Let's say you're Mark McGuire and you know you took steroids. And you also know that Ken Griffey Jr. was taking steroids, but he never got caught and never even got mentioned in it. He gets in the Hall of Fame and I don't. So I'm going to myself, well, wait a second. I know Ken Griffey took steroids. Why is he allowed to go in there and I'm not? Here's the deal. I think it's kind of one of these deals. My dad said to me the other day, he was parked in a spot that was handicapped and he's got a handicap sign. And he forgot to put it up. So he got a ticket for 400 bucks. Well, he was really upset about it, right? So he said that when he was there, he noticed that the guy parked next to him also didn't have a handicap symbol up. So my dad took a picture of that and sent it with his ticket. I said, Dad, you're the one that got popped. I said, what they did with that guy, he'll be dealt with, I guess. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that... You broke the law. And so you got caught. I said, I think the judge is going to look at your picture and say, okay, well, that's all well and good. That guy broke the law too. He didn't get popped. Okay. But that doesn't change the fact that you broke the law. Absolutely agree with you. But it still bothers me that you're getting reaped all these rewards and I'm not. And we're exactly the same. There's no difference between you and I. Can I speak on this? I got a small amount of Little League experience.
Go ahead, Rob. I think you can speak on this. I think you're an expert. I got a small amount of Little League experience. And you know what? I think that's just the roll of the dice. To just be fair about it, I guess that's the roll of the dice. And if they're going to test one guy, I guess they're going to have to start testing everyone. And if it's illegal now, why not? Put little cups in every clubhouse and say, hey, everybody, take this test. And if you're caught, you're busted. No random stuff. You busted. We got a dude on the phone that's an ex-pro ball player. Oh, cool. Jose Canseco, what's up? It is not. Hey, are you there, bro? Jose Canseco here. Yes. Hey, dude. I did actually play professional baseball for 10 years. What team? What team? The last guy that came in. What team? What team? What team? What team? I played for four different organizations. I played for the Pirates, Tampa Bay. I played for the Dodgers and the Giants. Oh, are you that rookie? That Dennis Quaid movie? No, no, no. Eddie. His name is Matt. Matt, what's your name? Casimir. I knew it was Matt Casimir. My name's Matt. I'm not revealing anything else about the last name at all or anything. I don't want this coming back to me. Okay. All right. We got it. But the last guy that was talking about hand-eye coordination and stuff like that, completely wrong. I actually took steroids myself when I was playing baseball.
I noticed the difference from throwing 94 miles an hour. I used to be a pitcher. 94 miles an hour to jumping up to 98 miles an hour. Your hand-eye coordination is greatly enhanced. Everything you do is greatly enhanced. It almost turns you into, like I would say, the Incredible Hulk. It actually does. You're saying it actually does. Why am I not on this? Shut up. It actually does have an effect on hand-eye? Absolutely. I mean, the difference is that you can tell, too, when you actually take the stuff and you try to hit a baseball, it's a lot easier to see and your reaction time is that much quicker. Basically, you know, you're putting stuff in your body that your body's producing when you're a younger kid. You know, you heal faster. You can react to things quicker and stuff like that. So, you know, as you get older and you take it, it has the same effects on you. Yeah, it has some bad side effects, too, but, you know, as well with it, there's a lot of good that comes with it. A lot of people that put people down about baseball and stuff, about taking the steroids and growth hormone and stuff like that, a lot of those people haven't been out there and actually done it. I mean, you go and play 136 games or 140-some games a year and get one or two days off a month, and you've got to go out there and perform every day and do good.
P1 Matt is a former professional baseball player. He played for about 10 years. He played for the Pirates for a while. He played for Tampa for a while and a couple of other teams too. Matt, what are the bad side effects? The bad side effects, as everybody knows, is the old roid rage, as they call it. And that does happen. And whether people say they get it or not, they're lying. They do get it. Your temper is... highly enraged. I mean, somebody can tell you something and normally you just let it go right off your shoulder and this could really change your mood big time. I mean, I had somebody tell me to change the TV and I flipped out on them before and threw them across the room. Really? I want to watch Owen! It's almost as if you need another drug to take with it to calm yourself down from it. Hey, does it really shrink your testicles? I would have to say that it probably does in prolonged periods of time. But actually what happens is your testicles will go back. Because what happens is when you're taking the steroids, you're putting testosterone in your body. So what happens is your testicles stop producing the testosterone that normally goes in your body. And as you stop taking them...
Eventually, testosterone will start building back up, but it does take a while for the testosterone to build back up, which is why also another one of the bad side effects is when you're coming off, you get a lot of mood swings. You feel like down in the dumps. You could be, you know, 6'2", 250 pounds and like 5% body fat, but you'd feel like the biggest wimp there is on the planet. I saw a documentary about a pro wrestler last weekend called The Wrestler. It wasn't a documentary. He took a bunch of steroids and he had a heart attack. Do you actually get heart damage? Major heart damage. Yeah, that could happen. I don't know if you guys remember Lyle Alzado too, but he was taking steroids and growth hormone at the same time and it caused him to have a brain tumor and basically that just exploded and he was done. Did you have any bad side effects from doing it, Matt? I didn't have any bad side effects. I did have surgery. Some people say that some arm surgeries and stuff like that are caused from it because you're actually putting more wear and tear on your muscles and joints than they're normally used to. I did come back from my surgery and was still able to throw as hard as I was before without steroids. So I don't know really if that's one of the things or not. I think if your body's going to break down, it's going to break down eventually anyways.
But, you know, overuse of the steroids definitely is going to have some bad side effects for you. Not just in the short term, but in the long run later on in life, I would say. When you got out of baseball, what did you do? Well, now I'm currently working for a beverage company. I'm actually a supervisor over there. When I first got out, I actually started my own personal training business. And it went pretty good. But with this economy and stuff the way it is, I wasn't really too... Too happy about the hours and stuff like that, so I got out of that. Eddie has a question. Yeah, so did you see steroids pretty prevalent in the clubhouse? Well, it wasn't like it's public, as you can say. I mean, you know who's doing them. There's talks. People talk about it. I mean, I'll even go as far as when I first started playing back in the mid-'90s, I actually had an organization come to me and tell me I needed to take them and was given basically... appointments to go see somebody twice a week to go get these injections. Holy cow. And did you notice an immediate difference? Oh, yeah. I mean, big time. I came out of college at about 180 pounds, and the next season I went in at about 215 pounds. And like I said, I went from throwing 94 to the next year I came in spring training when, you know, usually people, when they first throw their first couple bullpens or games, you're not going to throw your max speed. But I was throwing harder than I had ever thrown before in my life.
Well, you've got to think, man. Here's the bad part. So it's a deal where it's making your muscles get bigger. Your heart's a muscle. Yeah. And so, oh, man, that's grody. That's some bad news. That is gnarly. The thing is that, you know, in safe environments and stuff like that, which a lot of these doctors talked to us about it in the mid-90s and stuff, a lot of the doctors were talking about that it is safe in controlled environments. As what they're saying, it is safe. It is true, definitely. But the thing is, is people get addicted to their size, you know, and then they don't want to get off of it, and they start taking more. And the whole thing behind it is if, you know, if you're going to take six months, say a six-month cycle to do this, a lot of people don't know the fact that you need to take a year off before you even do it again. And a lot of these guys are taking a year round, and that's why it's having such really bad effects on them, and their bodies are just breaking down. Hey, listen, I don't... You also get the dumb injuries, too, where, I mean, I don't know if you remember back in the day, but Maguire getting a sprained toe and different stuff like that. You don't come up with little injuries like that if you're not on stuff. Well, listen, I don't know anything about anything, but I don't think that taking steroids is good ever. And listen, maybe you had doctors that were telling you that. And to me, that makes sense that they would tell you that because they're the ones giving it to you and they're probably trying to feel better about themselves and trying to make it seem like they're not doing anything wrong.
I'm telling you, Matt, I don't know if that's a good idea at any point, especially with kids listening right now. I don't want any kid, I don't want anybody thinking that steroids is ever okay. You shouldn't do it. And if you do, it's going to harm you. And Matt, I appreciate it, dude. I appreciate you calling and being honest with us and telling us stuff. No, well, of course not. I mean, steroids aren't good for you. I'm going by what I was told. As far as going to the doctor in a safe environment, it would be good for you. When you come down to the bottom line, Mikey, steroids are illegal. Steroids were illegal before the ban in baseball or anything else. But technically, if anybody wanted to say anything about it, any of these guys could have been arrested or even myself for that matter. I mean, because whether or not a sport or anything, you know, bans a substance, if it's illegal by law to be illegal in the sport. That's right. If you disagree with me one more time, I'll rip your head off. Yeah. Hey, Matt. Thanks, man. I appreciate it, dude. No problem. You guys have a great one. Thanks, Matt. Matt, man, he's a former ball player. That's interesting. I got some baseball experience, too. Probably like 5 to 13. The Mikey Show. That's the ultimate hang zone. Oh, rock. They were still working on this one accident near the 15 on that ramp there.
Might see a bit of a slowdown there as they hook things up on the tow truck. Other than that, just to keep in mind, the Caltrans crews have closed down the South 505 ramp to eastbound 94 for repair work. They plan to open it back up around 10 o'clock this morning. And the border weight's not too bad. 45 minutes at San Isidro. I'm Rick Lawrence at Rock 105.3. Hey, is this Todd? Yes. Todd wrote me an email. Tell everybody what you wrote me in the email. Mikey, I bought a Simmons Beautyrest Cunningham pillow top over at Sleep Train two weeks ago. And it was just an amazing experience. The salesperson gave me 10% off before he even knew I was in there for the Mikey show. And then I used the Ace card and said, oh, Mikey told me to come in, and I got an additional 10. So all in all, I saved 20% on the mattress. And I bought it at Mission Valley at 11 o'clock. They had it delivered and installed in Chula Vista by 2.30 on the same day. That's rad. And what's even more amazing, since it was a Cunningham pillow top, it was personally delivered by Richie Cunningham and Patsy Weber. It was just an amazing experience. That's awesome. How do you like sleeping on it? It's amazing. I've never had any problems sleeping before.
With the new mattress, it's even better. It's completely amazing. I would recommend Sleep Train to all the P1s out there. And Richie Cunningham and Potsy Weber delivered it. Absolutely. You can definitely meet Richie and Potsy if you get the Cunningham pillow top. There you go. That's beautiful. Hey, dude, I appreciate it. Thank you for calling. Thanks, Mikey. We'll see you. I'm not a big fan of combining foods. Like, you know, like. Yeah. Boston Rob. You know me. I love a good tattoo. And Ashley. I don't like to waste food. On Rock 105.3. I didn't even talk about this earlier. I wanted to, too. You know how Beyonce sang at the President's Ball? She did that At Last song. Oh, yeah. Did you know? Well, you did. You knew that that song was Etta James, right? Yeah. Didn't she play Etta James in that Cadillac Records movie? Yep. Now.
I think, and I'm not sure, but didn't she play somebody based on Etta James? It wasn't actually Etta James. It was like, but you knew it was Etta James. I think it was Etta James. It was Etta James. Well, I don't know. I watched her on Oprah and she made it seem like she was playing Etta James. She was. She said that she was watching, researched Etta and her mannerisms and how she was and everything. Well, it doesn't sound like Etta's a fan. Oh, really? Of Beyonce. What? I don't think she's a fan. You're kidding me. Well, first of all, she's 71 years old. And I'm not kidding you. Her voice has become masculine. What is this supposed to mean? Her speaking voice. Her speaking voice has become masculine. When I first heard the clip. Yes, Etta James. She played Etta James. She did? Yeah. It makes it even more unusual. Oh, yeah. That's weird. This is shocking. This is shocking. She played Etta James. I already said it, bro. IMDb'd it. I already IMDb'd it. I found it. That makes this so much crazier. Yeah, right? Yeah, I'm adding to the story. Well, listen to what Etta said. Now, it's hard to hear. The audio's not that great. Okay. But take a listen to Etta. You guys know your president, right? Now, do you get what I'm saying? The voice sounds a little bit...
How dare you? What do you mean? How dare you? It's all right. Where are you coming from? The only one with the big ears? Yeah, we don't. Yeah, wait a minute. He ain't my president. He might be your one. He ain't my president. But I tell you that woman he is singing. So she don't like Obama. Wow. Whoa, dude. So she's making that known, first of all. Before I'm singing my song, she gonna get her ass ripped. She's talking about Beyonce. Oh, shut up. Wow. Beyonce. The great Beyonce. Now, like I said, she ain't mine. And you ain't mine. I mean, I made a mistake. You are mine. But I can't stand Beyonce. She has no business up there singing. Singing up there on a big old president day and going to be singing my song that I've been singing forever. She don't mess around, man. I guess not. That's awesome.
Now, it must have either then been the interaction that they had when she was studying her for the film, or she maybe wasn't happy with the way she was portrayed in the movie. Yeah, well, my thought on the whole thing is that Etta James is okay with Beyonce singing her song if she's portraying Etta James. But if Beyonce is going on her own, soaking up all the glory, meeting the president, being on all the magazines, and that's not okay. I don't know. That's my interpretation. And for the record, that's not Etta James' song. Really? No. Glenn Miller did it first in 1941, followed by Nat King Cole in 1957. Etta didn't record it until 61. Glenn Miller's version ranked higher on the Billboard Pop Singles charts than Etta's ever did. Oh, dude. Yeah. But everybody knows that. Yeah, for sure. But I mean, still, why is she so upset? She don't like no Obama, man. I guess not. Well, I think she'd like Obama if he asked her to sing it at the inauguration. Is that why she's mad at him? That's my interpretation. Why is she mad at him? She's mad at him, too. Yeah, because she didn't get the glory. She didn't get the Evite. Yep. That's why she's saying he ain't my president. That's just my thought. Whoa. True.
Well, Beyonce's in the movie, and Beyonce's relevant, and Beyonce, you know what I mean? James isn't relevant? Not anymore. I don't have my house shoes. Okay. Really? Yeah. And it's Sasha Fierce, if we're being fair. Okay. Speaking of... Let's see. I got some more clips I wanted to play for you guys. Yes, I am. I love clips. Did you guys hear that there was a... I love clips. Did you guys hear that there was a spot that was pulled from ESPN? For, I believe, I don't know when it was pulled. I don't know if I was going to say during the Super Bowl, but it wasn't. This is just a regular ESPN spot that ESPN pulled. Is it one of their SportsCenter commercials? It just says after complaints from gay rights groups, ESPN pulled this ad featuring Shaquille O'Neal. that the gay rights groups said was homophobic. In it, Shaq gets weirded out by ESPN's Mike Breen asking for a fist kiss. Okay. Like a fist bump, but he's calling it a fist kiss. Four, three. Yes. Give me a fist kiss. A what? Fist kiss. What the hell is that? What do you call it? Oh, man. Fist love? No. I just said it.
Okay, but no. No fist kiss, no fist love, no fist hump. None of that. You're getting weird on me, man. Stay over there. Fist kiss. Disgusting. Fist kiss. Nash, give me a fist kiss. Amari, give me a fist kiss. Fist kiss. That's funny. That's pretty funny. That's pretty funny. But the gay rights group said that, you know, obviously, it sounds like their deal is, well, You know, he's making it sound, he calls them weird or whatever, you know, and he's making it be like they're, he's bad or weird or something. If they're two heterosexual men, that's weird. Yeah. Just like it would be strange if two homosexual men were acting all straight all of a sudden. Right? Totally. I think it's just hilarious that he doesn't, and he's like,
Fist love, you know, and like he doesn't even get the content. I don't see the argument for pulling that out. No, I don't see that. Really? This guy argues everything. Yeah. Wow. You always want to challenge him. Wow, you usually love to beat us up. Remember you made me go back in? Hey. Hey. What happened? Can I have a junior Western bacon cheese? Junior. Hey. All righty then. Listen. I don't think there was anything wrong with it. It sounded harmless, but I could understand if they're saying, well, it's making it seem like, you know, I'm sure they didn't like the phrasing, you're getting weird on me. Here's Shaq. Shaq, tell us about this. Tell us. Oh, Kofi's gay. You can't just say that. You can't just say that. Let him speak.
So take that. How about a fist kiss? Some fist love? Come here, I'll give you one. She's into it now. Ladies and gentlemen, Shaquille O'Neal. Thank you. Twice in one show. You broke your own record. Tell me what you think about this. Sky's girl, Nancy Pelosi, had this to say. Talking to, I don't know, somebody getting interviewed. And listen to how many American jobs she says we're going to lose. Do you have any reaction to rumblings over in the Senate that the economic recovery package is going too fast and maybe it won't be ready by the President's Day recess? Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs. I don't think we can go fast enough. Every month.
Every month, 500 million Americans lose their jobs. I think she added a zero or two. Yeah. I think she... She may be... That's a lot. How do you guys know this? Maybe she's right. Maybe we don't know. Yeah. That's weird. Skye, is Tom Cruise exceptionally like... Oh, I want to find this picture for you. Is he exceptionally cut right now? Is that the deal? You see Seacrest? What are you talking about over there? There's no story out there. I just want to know about Tom Cruise. You just want your daily Tom Cruise update? Yeah, I just want my Tom Cruise's body update. That's a risky move. Get it? It's risky business, too. But, you know, I know. I was trying to figure out if I could. He's got all the right. Work it out. He's got some risky cocktails. His top guns are... I don't know how to do it. So what's the story, Sky? Well, he was on vacation in Brazil with Katie and baby Suri. And let's see, where's your... I am, there you are. Me too.
You were there, too? No, he really wants to get that IM. Send it to me, please. Yeah, and he was photographed with his shirt off in his bathing suit, and wow. I don't really care. Where is this? Yeah. Let's take a look. And weird. That's coming up. Is he real fit? Oh, my goodness. Right? Yeah, so I guess he's... How old is Tom Cruise? He's like 45 or something like that. Yeah, 42. Dude, I... That's steroids. Yeah. What do we think? Dude, let me tell you something. I got to give Tom Cruise this. That dude's working, man. Check that out. Something weird above the belly button there on TMZ. If you just search Tom Cruise, the headline is maybe Scientology does a body good. But yeah, wow. That guy is cut, man. I ain't hating on it. I want to know what he's doing. What is your workout plan, bro? It's a trainer, a personal chef, I'm sure. You know what? Alien. In the alien gym. Rob, when you work out, what is the thing that you always are trying to, is it your, what are you trying to develop the most? Shoulders, biceps, if you could have one thing. No, Eddie, that's not what he's. Oh, he's right, he's right. I hang upside down. With 40 pound barbells? Yes. Come on, stretch. Stretch me. That too.
If you could pick one thing, what would it be? Pecs, shoulders, arms. You're just going to have awesome what? You have to pick one thing? Yeah, if you had to. I guess arms. Yeah. Arms. That'd have to be. Some awesome arms. Biceps? You can't have the whole arm. No, no, no. Let me tell you. You're either going to have awesome biceps, awesome shoulders, awesome pecs, awesome abs. You got to pick. So. You know what I would take? I'd have to pick biceps or forearms. If that was the case, I'd go with abs. So I could take a shot to the gut. I'd have abs of steel. So that you could take a shot to the gut. He's very tough, Mike. He's a tough guy. Everything has to sound like he's an alley thug. When you're boxing, dude, if you've ever got hit in the liver, it drops you to your feet so quick, man.
feet? I mean, I get dropped to my feet. So you're still standing in place, basically. That's how tough I want to be. You dropped me to my feet. Like, were you flying at the time? Dang, you dropped me to my feet. Yeah, man, but you know, you develop that core, as they call it. Hip-hop abs, yeah. I would want awesome shoulders. Because it looks cool when you put on a shirt. Looks good. Eddie's showing his shoulders off. Get those coats with the shoulder pads. Dude, I'm telling you. Rob, you saw this picture, right? Dude's not eating one ounce of fat and it looks like he's working out constantly. Yeah, he's definitely training hard. That's not easy. It's not easy. Oh, wow. Listen to Quimby. She's really enjoying that. Nobody wants glutes. Eddie, what would you take? Well, you've already got amazing calves. I got perfect calves. Perfect. Very broad shoulders. My forearms are pretty sweet. So let's eliminate all those. It's easy. What's left, Mike? Like my toes? I don't know. What would you pick? I would say with Rob, I'd take abs. You would? Yeah. I've never had abs. So that you could take a shot to the gut? No. To the liver? Yeah, I don't want to. Shot to the liver? Drop me to my feet. Sky, what would you, do women even care?
Oh, do women care? About men or about us? Oh, yeah. What would you, if you picked one thing on a dude, what would you like the most? Yeah, if the bunny boo could have something. He's either going to have... Fix his hair, Mike. If he's going to have awesome biceps. He has it all, Mike. Stop it. But you could only pick one. Hair muscles. Hair muscles. Shut up. For me, it's a tie between biceps and abs. What about you, Ash? Same exact thing. Biceps and abs. The ladies like the biceps and the abs. What about on yourselves? Do ladies care? Absolutely. You do? Are you kidding? See, women have it wrong about themselves. Women pick the wrong stuff on themselves. Guys don't like what they think looks cool. Let's test that theory out. What do you mean? Sky, take your shirt off. Sky, what would you have? Oh, if I... I won't need an overall...
You've got to pick one. I have to pick one? Yeah. Well, there's three things that I need. You've got to pick one. I don't want to pick one. You must. You must pick one. She's like, well, I can tell you two I don't need. I can tell you two areas that are perfect. I guess my abs. Your abs. How about you, Ash? What would you pick? It would be what? The one body part I would change or the one body part I would want to be perfect? You get one part that's perfect. I would want my butt. You'd want a perfect butt? Yes. Really? But I really like the butt that I have now. But then why would you want to improve? That's why I'm confused. Shouldn't you pick a part that's not that great? So am I picking the body I have now? What would I pick? Yeah, like if you could change and make one body part what you think is perfect. Duh, duh, my legs, duh, my legs, duh, duh, my thighs. Yeah, definitely. The ShamWow video and pics are up. Amco is a place where you go if you have your check engine light on. But it's not just that. There's a lot more about Amco that I really want to get through to you. And I was talking to the guys at Amco. And I was saying, you know, what's the one message that you would love for me to drive home? And they said that a lot of people don't get.
that we do something that is extremely particular and that you have to kind of be a professional at. And I said, yeah, yeah, I get that. That people don't really understand. First of all, they do transmissions, oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, and cooling systems. So they do a lot of different stuff. But I also want you to get the sincerity in my voice that I mean it when I tell you about Amco and that I do believe in them. And they've been in business since 1964. I think that's an important thing for you to know because you don't stay in business unless you're doing something right, and they are. So I want you to know that too. Did you guys know that? No. I had no idea. Yeah, you can type in KIOZ.com and it'll do it. Kiosk. Let's see. 5701053 is our number if you want to give us a call. And let's see. The DMV is going to close two extra days a month because of the budget in California. Mike, I am so mad.
At these California lawmakers. They're jerks. They're not doing their job. They're getting paid, but all these state workers are getting their hours cut and losing their jobs. I'm with you. Why are we still paying these fools if they're not doing their stupid job and they're letting our state go down the toilet? I think that we should cut their salary. Yeah, let's not vote for them next time. That's right. Stupid jerks. Yeah. I agree. I think we should get rid of everyone while we're at it. Everyone? Yeah, why not? Who's everyone? We'll start with Rob. And then we'll work up from there. Unemployment, here I come. Rob is causing a deficit. And by the way, I want to change his name to Roz. I like it. His full name is Roblin, right? Yes, it is. ended their Saturday hours. Now they will close the DMV the first and third Friday of every month. So every other Friday the DMV will be closed. Or Saturday, every other Friday. You know what's going to be awesome about that? Is that it won't be crowded anymore. No, I mean it wasn't crowded in the first place. So they're encouraging people to try and do more things online at the DMV website.
Yeah, right. Like what? Take your picture for your new driver's license? Take your driver's test. What are you supposed to do there? No, you take your picture for your driver's license on your phone now. That would be awesome, dude. Just text it to me. Yeah, how about you just send a picture to them and that goes on your driver's license? Facebook it. Yeah, exactly. So brutal. I would love that. I'm friends with the DMV. Oh, are you? Are they on your wall? Does it have a wall? They could be if they wrote something on your wall, Skye. Skye, are you on Facebook yet? Don't mock Facebook. Are you on Facebook yet, Skye? Can you please get on Facebook? I will not get on Facebook. I am going to make you an account. I will not. Skye, what are you doing right now? Hanging out. What's your status? Yeah. What? I want to know your status. Your status is chilling, bro. Then put that. Then put that, and then I'll comment on it. I'll just say it. Put it, and then I'll comment on it. You'll ask me, and I'll tell you. You ask me, and I'll tell you. It's cool that you are chilling. I would write that back to you. Stupid. The worst. No, I will never. Fine. You're weak. You're weak sauce. She got you, dude. Already a New York elementary school is going to become the first school to be named after Obama. What? He hasn't done anything yet. It's been long enough.
Finally. Finally. Are you people crazy? I've been waiting for this. Eddie, they're making you crazy on purpose, and you know that they're doing this to just upset you. How can you name Andy after the guy? He's done nothing. He's made history as what he's done. Doing what? Being the first African American president. Yes. That makes history, bro. What? I'm naming my first child after him. That's a great plan. He is our 42nd white president. The half-white president. Oh, he's only half black. Yep. I don't understand. What if it turns out he's the worst president in the history of the world? Well, then you change it back. They'll change the name of the school back. They'll change it back? Yeah. They'll be like, our bad. Our bad. A little white out. Yeah. Oh, Skye is so racist. Yeah, that was unnecessary. No, it's a product, you guys. It's a product. Skye apologizes to everyone. Yeah. That's right. For what she says right now and what she may say in the future. Kathy Lee, they just had to put that up on the screen because Kathy Lee called strippers hookers.
She goes, don't hookers wear... I mean, no, no, no. I meant strippers. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. This is an idiot. Let's see. P1 Peaches. What's up, Peaches? What's it going on? Not too much. What's happening? Well, I just had a quick question for you, if I may. All right. I wanted to know if you guys were going to do the Valentine's Day answering machine again this year. Oh, that was cool. That was a neat idea. That was cool. Yeah, I wanted to leave a message on it. Me? Yeah, we'll set that up again. The Valentine's deal was we just set up a line and we let people call it and give anybody they want a Valentine's message. Shout out, man. Yeah, a little shout out. A little Valentine's shout out. I called and left like three messages to Sky and Ashley and they never got put on the air. Oh, that's weird. We checked them all and they weren't on there. I must have called the wrong number. Okay. Yeah, I kept getting these messages from Mike. Hey, Peaches, good idea. We'll get that up. Okay, real quick. Can I say one thing real quick to you? Sure. I wanted to commend Eddie on his comedic prowess during the ShamWow experiment. What part did you like the most?
He yelled at Rob, where is your weird? Well, it was true. Real highbrow stuff. He actually didn't mean that as a joke. There was no comedy involved. He was actually curious. I could not see anything. It was really cold out. That's right. You guys are the best. Thank you. Thanks, peaches. P1 Rude Dog has a question for the Oracle. Hey, what's up, Eddie? What's up, dude? Hey, I wanted to know what you think about the Chuck Liddell Shogun fight coming up. Are they just trying to dig for something for ratings or something with that? Because I just don't see Chuck Liddell really being anything anymore. Everything's changing. You know, what I've noticed about Chuck Liddell in his last few fights is that he's getting sloppier and he's getting caught with shots. Guys with knockout power are catching him with solid punches and knocking him out. And once you get knocked out, you're kind of prone to knockouts. The thing about Shogun is I don't necessarily think Shogun is that type of a fighter. I don't think he's a knockout artist. I mean, if it somehow goes to the ground, he'll clearly dominate, but Chuck won't let it go to the ground. So if they stand up against each other, Chuck still has anvils for fists, and he'll knock you out. So if it's a stand-up battle, which I think it will be, I think Chuck wins easy. Oh, so you're going with Chuck on that? Absolutely. All right. I hear you. Cool. Thanks, guys. You bet. Thanks, dude.
P1 Minor, are you there? Oh, sorry, P1 Logic. Go ahead, Logic. Hey, Mikey, how's it going? Good, dude. I've actually been watching those hilarious Sonic commercials for a very long time. I love them. You guys said one's going in Santee? That's right. My girlfriend just let me know this morning that about two, three days ago she read in the paper we're getting one up in North County Vista on Main Street. Is that right? Man, the invasion begins. Yeah, it's going to take about a year to get that one in, but they're working on it. A year? Yeah. Eddie, remind me about Sonic because we were in Dallas when we were in Dallas, but I don't remember. So what is it? Is it just a burger? Is it any good? It's a burger joint, you know, that, you know, it's funny. I like Sonic, but it's not like mind-blowing food. You know what I mean? It's like you're any typical fast food. They have a really good variety. I like that. What are their hamburgers like? And is that what they're known for? Everything I take from the commercials is like the weird little cool stuff that they do. They do a lot of stuff. I mean, they give you a huge variety, which I appreciate it. And it's like a drive-in, too. So you can pull up and order, and they'll bring it to your window. What? Right to the window. They do that? Yeah, it's a Sonic drive-in is what it's called. The burgers are real good. They are? What are they like?
They remind me of kind of like an In-N-Out, but, you know, In-N-Out has its own thing. Hard to believe. Kind of like charbroiled deliciousness. It's like maybe a step above a Whopper. Really? Yeah. It was pretty good. It was good. It's not like, I think you're going to have it a couple times and go, oh, okay. Shredded lettuce or leaf lettuce? Shredded. Shredded? You don't like shredded, do you? Really? On a burger? No. I don't like that. No, no, no. They're putting shredded? That's weird. That's just odd. It's like Big Macs or anything else. Logic, thank you, man. Wow, that really got... It blew his mind right now. I don't understand why they're going to take a year, dude. Extremo Makeover comes in, and in one week, they can put it in. There's things like permits and funding, and then you've got to break ground. Funding the Sonic. Will you stop yelling at me? They run commercials in markets that they don't even have Sonics in. Somebody she's passionate about, you know what I mean? I'm just saying, I've got to wait another year. Well, you're not going to Vista to get a burger. I will. Go to Santee. I'll do that. Is it already up? Rob gets excited about new fast food places. He likes it. When we were in Vegas, he couldn't stop talking about there was a Sonic across the street. I never got to go. And he wanted to go so bad. I never got to go.
I'm so upset. You know what I would like that only this guy probably is out of all of us ever had is those stupid white castles, man. Those things look good, man. Those are awesome. You can get them at Vaughn's. Yeah, but those are frozen. I want the real thing, man. Me too. I want the real thing. Hey, you know that guy up in the tree in Encinitas that everybody forgot about? Is he still there? Oh, who? Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a dude in Encinitas sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the little baby and the baby carriage. Well, his good friend, P1 Minor, is on the line right now. Minor, are you there? Yes, sir. All right. First, let's update everybody. Not update, but let's let everybody know what we're talking about. There's a dude in Ensenita's up in a tree, and the reason he's there is because he doesn't want him to cut the tree down. And so this is a friend of yours? Yes, sir. I've known Andrew for quite a number of years here. He is definitely not homeless. Okay. He's the real deal. This guy actually is an organic produce farmer. And what he does is approaches people and he plants gardens in their yards. And he has these plots all over North County. Well, what I don't understand is the law says that if the trees become an obstruction to the view, they must come down. Okay. And they're planting double the amount of replacement trees.
I'll tell you what. He's the expert, and if you'd like to talk to him, I can give you his phone number, and you can call him directly. Has he got his cell up there in the tree? Absolutely. Wow. And he's still in the tree? I dropped that off the phone with him. In fact, I was in the tree myself yesterday for a couple, three hours. I'm just supporting my friend. I don't know all the details, and I'm not an attorney. Name dropper. Now, how does he charge the phone up in the tree? He gives it to a friend, and the friend will charge for him for a couple hours and bring it back. He has a rope with a basket for getting goodies up and down. All right. I'm going to put you on hold. We'll get his number, okay? Can you put lotion in the basket? Hang on a second. No, Eddie, that was for Silence of the Lambs, dude. What? That was just that one dude in that movie. What about my dog, Precious? No, see. Don't you hurt my dog, tree guy. Eddie thought that was a documentary. No, that was... Eddie's confused. You're confused, dude. It puts the lotion on its skin. Okay. Or else it gets the hose again. Now, that was from a movie, bro. And he was in a tree, right? No, in a well. She was in a well. Yeah. You're thinking of silence in the line. And it said, put my dog in that basket. And don't you hurt my dog, lady. Yeah. Precious. Not a real man. An actor playing a character.
in a movie starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins. The movie won an Academy Award, bro. It's called Signs of the Lambs. Oh, what does lambs have to do with baskets? It's based on a book. Exactly. I win. He got me there. Well, we're going to get the number to Tree Man. Tree Man. Stay up in the tree if you can. No one can. Not anymore, right? Nobody's talking about it. No, not since that first day. Seriously. That first day was powerful. It really was, dude. Got the word out. I mean, how long is it going to take? I stopped kicking trees for a whole day. I know it. Kicking trees. That's right. You're a good person, Rob. Rob used to be a tree kicker. Hey, Scooby's on the line. Scooby's really making a push. Hey, what's going on, guys? What's going on, Scoob? Hey, Scoob, did you hear that?
Mammoth Wooly? The what? The Wooly Mammoth Mafia guy that called in earlier? I don't know what you're talking about. You didn't? Aw, dude, you missed it. I really think it was Scooby calling in as the Wooly Mammoth. I don't think so. I don't know. I could be wrong. They found... Doing work stuff. Doing work stuff. He's a busy guy. Work stuff. They found a Wooly Mammoth downtown. What's up, Scoob? Hey, I wanted to kind of disagree, or not disagree, but just... comment on what you guys were talking about earlier about the baseball stuff? Uh-huh. I don't know, Eddie, I don't know if you can fairly compare the Pete Rose stuff with the Barry Bonds stuff because, you know, as far as getting to the Hall of Fame, just because Pete Rose wasn't doing performance-enhancing drugs, you know, he was, you know, accused of doing something different, you know, and I think he should be in the Hall of Fame as far as Barry Bonds. I don't know just because of that, of what that, Ballplayer was saying earlier about, you know, what steroids does to you. Eddie, what do you think? I don't. So, what are you saying? Like, I don't get it. What am I... Well, you were kind of like, you know, should Pete Rose be in there and then should Barry Bonds be in there? You know, you were like throwing the two... Apples, the oranges kind of thing. I'm not comparing the two what they did. I'm just saying that there's the debate. There's always the debate.
That's my point, is that there's always a debate about Pete Rose. There's always going to be a debate about Barry Bounds, about Roger Clemens. And, you know, I mean, that's my point. It's not really what they did. You know, what Pete Rose did, he violated, you know, a very sacred rule in baseball. And that's why they're keeping him out. And then he lied about it. I know exactly. But the thing is, is that, you know, what he did was not on field stuff. But it could have affected on-field stuff. If he, you know, he bet for his team, but if he was gambling on baseball and bet against his team, that would have affected, you know, he was the manager. He said he never did, right? He said he never did, but he was the manager of the team. And if he's doing stuff to affect the outcome of games, that's way worse than to me.
than doing performance. This one time I was taking bets because people were like, you know, how many times will Sky say ham tomorrow? Oh, okay, yeah. And I was like, I bet she'll say it this many times. And then I was purposefully... You were forcing it. I was purposefully, like, showing a ham. And when I know when she sees it, she's like, ham! Ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham, ham And beginning and end of every show, we do open phones. So you can call in about anything you want. And so you can call in right now. P1 Baby Shaker. Hey, how's it going? Good, man. You used to work at Sonic. Yeah, I used to work at Sonic. And what they were trying to do was incorporate the 50s thing. And they would have waitresses skate to your car. And they'd have the beach boys playing all the time. Oh, I love it. They still do that? Well, in Kansas City, they do. That's where I was. And they are the leader in the mixed drink. That's where everybody got the mixed drink. Oh, yeah. Cherry limeade, bro. Come on. Stuff's good. And they will put the actual fruit in. And then they have the best burgers because they serve them with the Texas toast. Hey, did we get a number? Thank you for the call, Baby Shaker. I have to break in. Do we have the number? Call him and see if he'll come on the air.
We're going to have Quimby call and see if this guy in the tree man, guy up in the tree, will come on the air. And we don't know if it's a real guy up in the tree, but I don't know. That guy sounded real to me. Why would you want to fake that? Why would you want to fake it, right? I know, Andrew. Now, Sky, this guy says he's up there because they shouldn't be cutting down trees and blah, blah, blah, right? Right. He's a tree hugger, Mike. Hey, listen. That's fine, but it's a law. You know what I mean? And I'm all for that if they're cutting it down for, you know, like stupid reasons. But it sounds like there's a law. Plus, they're planting twice as many trees as they're taking down. That's a big whoop. You know who does that? Ted Nugent. That's right, dude. What? Cuts down trees. Cuts down trees and then plants a hundred more. That's right. That guy's a great American. Then he murders a baby. But he breeds like five more babies. That's right. He's the worst. He's giving back. He's so awesome. Giving back to the community, dude. I love that guy. He's leaving a great footprint. Speaks the truth. I think we have Tree Man now. Really? Yeah. I think we got him. Are you going to sing him your song? Tree Man. Is this Tree Man? This is Tree Man. What is your name, bro? It's Drew. It's Drew. Drew, how old are you? I'm 27. 27 years of age.
And how long have you been sitting up in the tree in Encinitas? Well, today is day seven, so today is Black Sabbath day, day of rest and relaxation and destruction of illusions and burning of Babylon. All right. That's your boy. That's right, Sky. That's your boy. Why are you saying that's my boy? That's your boy. Now, how long are you going to stay up in this tree? As long as we have to. We got a big city council meeting on Wednesday. Coming up next Wednesday at 6 o'clock. So if anybody wants to come start an angry mob at town hall, they're more than welcome. Just no torches or anything like that or tar and feathers. So we'll be all right. What do you mean we? Well, we is like the whole city of Encinitas. I mean, we got like hundreds of petitions going out today to the clerk's office. And basically what's happened here is we got city council that doesn't represent people in the city at all. Not at all. And so I got a list of these guys. Their names are all right. I don't want to read names. Okay. I don't want to read names. So you're sitting in a tree right now. Sure, yeah. How are you eating? Yeah, people bring me all kinds of great food on silver platters, man. People are stoked. How are you getting the food?
We got a rope that brings a basket up to the tree. And mostly I give the food to my friends and I give all the candies to the kids after school. How long are you going to stay up there? Well, indefinitely. They can't get us down and stuff. Well, yeah, but what if nobody cares and nobody wants to get you down? Oh, right. Well, then I live the rest of my life in this tree. You actually will? You'll stay there the rest of your life? Sure, yeah. I don't think you will. I think you're going to get tired of it really soon. No, no. I can always come down because I got people. Jumping up here for me. Like, I'm going to go jump in a jacuzzi at my friend's house. Oh, so they rotating tree man? They're rotating tree man? Yeah, yeah. Oh, knock yourself out. You become an institution. Like, people come and travel here, and they'll go see you like a tourist attraction. They'll be like, hey, let's go see the crazy guys. Like the world's biggest yarn ball. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You'll be like the world's biggest yarn ball. You'll be like that dinosaur out there in the middle of the desert, you know? You'll be like that Santa Claus that you see on the highway when you're driving up the coast. I would like to be the Hispanic Santa Claus. That's right. I would, too. So we have that in common. Well, good luck to you and your compatriots. Go ahead, Skye. Well, so, dude, I'm all about loving nature and trees and stuff. But what I don't understand is aren't they replacing these 12 trees with 22 brand new trees?
Oh, right. Well, they brought a bunch of magnolia trees, but they planted them too close together, so they're not going to grow to their full potential. They're going to be pretty small. This is a 14-year-old tree, and I met the woman, Sheila, who planted this tree in the early 90s. So, yeah, this is a beautiful tree. It means a lot to a lot of people in the community. It's called a tipu on a tipu, which means pride of Bolivia. So this tree is drought-resistant. It grows in almost the exact latitude. on the other side of the southern hemisphere. Well, hey, listen, man, knock yourself out. You want to stay up in that tree, and you guys are going to rotate in and out of the tree, and you'll see you 55 years old, and we'll be like, hey, that's that dude we talked to 25 years ago. He's been up in that tree for 25 years, just getting up, getting down, getting up, getting down. Yeah, and the beauty is this tree can grow up to be 80 feet tall and 100 feet wide. You think these people got blocked? Yeah, but they said that to Rob and look at him. All right, brother. Well, listen, good luck to you. And, you know, I don't know that you guys are going to get what you want. And man, the other really tough part about it is that people forget about it and everything. People forget about everything and they forget about everything, you know?
Yeah, sure, sure. But hey, listen, you know, you can keep doing it, and you have a right to do it. Well, I don't know that you... Does he have a right? Sky, he has a right? At some point, it's trespassing, isn't it? Well, I think it's a public park, hey? It's a public park, so maybe you can. Hey. Hey. Hey. All right. There you go. Hey, no borders. That's my answer to that. That's what I was going to say. All right, brother. All right. I'm going to go to your house right now, Ben. Eddie, did you just say Barnes and Noble? Well, you said borders. I wanted to make it... Even. I don't know. Thank you. Enjoy your jacuzzi. Lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. And today on her show, she's got the lost and found. So make sure you're listening. This is stuff you haven't heard for a while. So you're going to love it, man. You call in. You tell her, I haven't heard this one for a little bit. And she'll probably play it for you. We're going to split. We'll see you tomorrow morning at 530. The Mikey Show is out late.
