The episode centered on the Grammy Awards aftermath, with the hosts dissecting odd performances, the Chris Brown‑Rihanna assault fallout, and a surprise Blink‑182 reunion announcement. They also featured dramatic audio from Captain Sully’s Hudson River landing and Christian Bale’s public apology for his on‑set tirade. Throughout the show, Valentine’s Day promotions, quirky listener confessions (like skipping trash or Burger King cheese), and sports debates about Alex Rodriguez’s steroid use filled the airwaves.

That's a P1 listener. They listen exclusively to the Mikey Show. They make new P1s. They listen for long periods of time. This is a P1. And so that's what we want you to do. There's so much stuff going on. We got so much stuff. We're going to dive in. Grammys last night.
Eddie, you stayed up, right? I stayed up till 10. I was on till 11.30. Yeah, yeah. It was crazy. I got into about 9.30 and then I'm finally like, okay, I need to go night-night. Oh, man. Yeah. Did you like... What you saw? I found it very interesting. You know, I've watched the Grammys in the past and was bored to tears. They've taken their, I think, a cue from, like, the MTV Awards and stuff like that and just made it all about performances. Right. And not really about the awards. Yeah. I mean, I think in the first hour, they gave away two awards. Yeah. And it was all performances. Right. So, I mean, that was kind of cool. And they did a thing where, you know, it was like all... uh, big artists playing with other big artists or like legends and stuff like that, which, which was pretty cool. Pretty neat to see. Yeah. What did you think of, uh, Al Green, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban, boys to men all getting together to perform. Let's stay together. I thought it was cool. I don't know why Keith Urban was there, but I thought the other ones were really cool. Yeah. And I needed a little more boys to men. Absolutely. For my personal taste. And there was only three out of the four boys to men. I noticed that too. Where was the deep voice guy? Is that even allowed? Right?
The deep voice guy wasn't there. I would have liked Al Green, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban, and Boyz II Men. Just hold the Al Green and Justin Timberlake and Keith Urban. I would have really liked that performance if you held them and played the rest. So right now, let's go to Memphis with Boyz II Men, Keith Urban, and the great Reverend Al Green. like it was intended to be sung. Yes. Like new artists, they go up there and they feel like they need to change it up and make it all weird. How crazy. Yeah. Oh, dude, that sounds good. Yeah. Is it really? For a second, I thought it was a beautiful voice and I thought, wow, Aretha sounds really good. Oh, no. It was gorgeous, though. It was gorgeous, though. It was beautiful. I'm guessing Keith Urban has not started his part yet. He's on guitar. Yeah. Is that what his part was? He does like a guitar solo in the middle. Yeah.
15 seconds. A pointless guitar solo. Yeah, that's ridiculous. No reason to have that guy there. That's ridiculous. Yeah. Let's see. And yeah, if you saw it or you want to comment on it, 570-1053 is the phone number. Eddie, so what's the deal with the Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus? You got me, dude. So they promote that Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, who our guests are friends, which I didn't know. I don't know. According to Miley. Best friends, they sing this song that I guess Taylor Swift wrote about being 15 years old. Oh, wow. Dude, it was bizarre. Performing together for the first time, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. Being 15. Who's relating to this? It's all about being 15. No, no. You have a theory. These girls had their hearts broken by a Jonas Brothers. And I think they're singing this song to the Jonas Brothers right now. Oh, wow. Oh, I like your theory. Self-indulgent. I like it. Yeah, total self-indulgent thing. This song should be called Take That. Yeah. Screw you, Joe Bro. Right? Shove it. Yeah. Wow. That was my theory. It was weird. Yeah. And it was so weird at the end when Miley Cyrus goes, oh, I'm so glad to stay with my best friend Taylor. And you see on Taylor's face, like, we're not best friends. Yeah, I just met you.
Like an uncomfortable high five. Afterwards. Like they weren't even sure. Oh, wow. And it was weird, too, because Taylor Swift is like just kind of subdued and singing, sitting on a stool. And Miley's like so overdramatic, like throwing her head around with a microphone. She's performing. I want to see it. I want to YouTube it. That's what Hannah Montana does, too. I mean, hello. I'm sorry. P1 Andrew, the freight train. What's up? I was actually told last night that the reason why they had the Boyz II Men and all of them singing on stage was because it was a filler. Chris Brown and Rihanna were supposed to sing Forever and Disturbia. However, Chris Brown was arrested earlier before the show started. He turned himself into authorities because he assaulted some women in some Ritzy Park earlier on in the evening. Sky, what do you got on that? Okay, so yeah, this guy is right. That was a filler. It was supposed to be Chris Brown and Rihanna performing, so it was like a last-minute thing, and they backed out of their performance. Yeah, so the way it goes down is that the night before the Grammys, Saturday night, both Chris Brown and Rihanna went together to Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party that he has every year. They left together, and on the
way home, Chris Brown, a witness called police saying that Chris Brown had assaulted a woman. The woman is not being named, but the assault happened minutes after him and Rihanna left the party together. What are you insinuating? Inside sources say that Chris and Rihanna got into a verbal argument on the drive home from the party because Rihanna, according to insiders, was accusing him of checking out and flirting with other girls at the party, and that he pulled the car over and, you know, allegedly assaulted her on the side of the road. A witness saw and called the police, and Chris Brown fled the scene, and Rihanna pressed charges, and Chris... Allegedly. Allegedly. And Chris was wanted by the police, so he turned himself in yesterday. All Rihanna's spokespeople will say is that Rihanna is doing well, and she thanks everyone for their concern and support right now. And she wasn't there, right? Neither of them attended the Grammys, no. Wow. That's crazy. That is a very far out news story. I hope they don't pull his...
Gum commercials. I like that. I love it. Double your pleasure. Double your fun. It's great. It's great. It's the right one. Get it, Rob. Get after it. Oh, man. Do you know what I'm talking about? Sure. You've seen those commercials. Fantastic. This is kind of sad news that I didn't know about. So Sheena has an explanation about Boyz II Men, right, Sheena? Sheena! Yes, I do. The reason why there was only three out of the four is because one of them died either last year or the year before that. Oh, wow. That can't be true. And was it the, do you know like who or what the deal? It's got to be that Michael McCary dude because every time they're in the reader doing a show, because they do like a lot of shows in San Diego, it's three of them. There's only three of them. So she's right on something happening. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, I appreciate it, Sheena. Thank you. Eddie, you better Google it. We'll Wikipedia it. Tube you bit. Yeah, we'll tube you bit. And get back to you. We'll find it.
We'll find out. Die. He did not die. No. Michael McCrae. Wait. Is he dead to the band? That may have been what she meant. That's what she was trying to say is that he's dead to them. Okay. Well, then in that case. It just came out weird. She's like, no, I was there when they got in the argument and they said you're dead to me. Yes. Says in 2003, Michael McCrae left a group due to chronic back problems resulting from scoliosis and way, way, wayna. Sean Stockman and Nathan Morris continue the tour and record as a trio. He's dead to them, though. I love rumors. They're the best. We did not die. Let's see. So, Eddie and Sky had a disagreement about the Grammys. It was over Katy Perry's performance of I Kissed a Girl. Yeah, right? Yeah. I've heard this song many times, and I felt...
She's one of those artists that does not perform well live, in my opinion. Really? I thought her vocals sounded off. I didn't notice a thing. I felt like she was kind of almost talking the lyrics and avoiding the difficult notes. Yeah. But I don't know. Eddie has no clue what I'm talking about. I don't. Is it difficult notes on? Let's take a listen. Maybe I'm tripping. And you decide. So here to perform her smash hit, I kiss the girl. Stop shouting. Please welcome a nominee tonight, the beautifully bi-curious Katy Perry. Let's hear it for Bicuriousness. With both of you. There's parts I hear where I'm like, yeah, pretty good. And then there's parts I hear where I'm like, uh-oh. I like to focus on the negative mic. I mean, she came down from the stage in a giant banana. What? She's got my respect. But you're allergic to bananas. I know, but it's a dream come true for me to come down from a stage in like a flying vegetable or fruit.
570-1053 is our phone number. So, yeah, if you want to call, if you saw the Grammys, if you want to weigh in on the Grammys, any of that. I saw David Archuleta sing the national anthem for... The Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl, and I thought he sounded really good when he sang it. And since my wife was taking a nap, and so was my son, and I was downstairs, I just started singing the national anthem. Nice. By yourself? By myself. Really? Okay. Nobody knows. Did you stand? No, no, no. I was laying on the couch with my laptop on my lap. You just told us all, though. I guess I just made that. That is really awesome, though, Mike. Pretty public. Did you belt it, or did you just kind of... Since we're putting on the honest cap... Yeah, putting it all out there. I was actually so impressed by David Archuleta that I was trying to do it in his style. Oh, even better. Which is kind of humiliating. I did do that, and I used to have a roommate. in Marjoram. I believe her name was Christine. Remember that she was practicing the National Anthem and didn't think anybody was home? Yes. And she was singing, I don't know, to this day, I don't know if she had a performance that she was going to be doing where it was asked of her to sing the National Anthem. She was just walking around the house? No, no, no. Eddie and I lived in a house that was like the real world. You know, there was like five or six people living in this one house and they were all like, you know,
in their 20s, early to mid-20s. True. That's right. You'll get the phone. And so we all lived there, and one time during the day, it was the middle of the day, and everyone was gone, and I came home, and I walked in the front door, and upstairs in the bathroom, I heard one of our roommates belting out the National Anthem a cappella, obviously. She didn't have any. Yeah, she didn't have them. That's how it's done, yo. She didn't have an arrangement. Yeah. And it was something. Wasn't she startled a little? Yes, she was. Yes, she was. I came upstairs, and she walked out of the bathroom unclothed. Oh, gosh. Yeah. And then she had to. She did the thing where the girls, where you put your arms over, crisscross applesauce. You crisscross applesauce. And then you went. And then you went.
ran across the hall. If you really want to hit those notes, you have to be naked. Yeah, yeah, yeah. To really get it. You got to really get up there. P1 Maiden fan. Hey, I thought the whole show, all the performance sounded pretty tinny. It sounds like that venue is so giant that they're getting lost. The audio quality from all the singing was atrocious. Man. And I was like, why aren't they fixing this? It was atrocious. I wonder what that's all about. Yeah, I don't know what the deal was, but I mean, on certain songs, you could really, you could like, like Coldplay, you could barely hear Chris Martin. Really? And I was like, what are they doing? Let's see. I got a clip of Coldplay. Well, you think they would have played? Ladies and gentlemen, practiced. Coldplay. Rehearsed. Rehearsed a little. Jimmy's last name. Oh, God. This is the other song.
I think I have that one, too. Let's hear that one. The cool thing about that little part right there was Jay-Z jumped in and did a little rap in the middle of it, which I thought was pretty sweet. He's like, yo, I like to keep it mellow. Yeah, it's like after this song, they go into... Elton John. It does, man. It does sound like it. Did you any point watching the Grammys last night? reference Joe Satriani did I did you think about it because I did every time Coldplay sang or won one of their multiple awards I'm like oh someone just you know threw a can at the TV okay now someone just threw their plasma out the window I was making jokes Satriani jokes myself all night wow that must have been fun it was really awesome I myself did not I was laughing hysterically I'm really funny let's see have a good time um
So I am unfamiliar with the works of R&B singer Chris Brown. We just announced Sky Update people that are just turning their radio on. Well, Chris Brown and Rihanna both were supposed to perform at the Grammys yesterday. They were both no-shows. Chris Brown was wanted for alleged domestic felony violence and also for making criminal threats. He turned himself into police yesterday, posted a $50,000 bond, was released. at the police station about 8 30 last night um what happened is that chris brown and rihanna were at the pre-grammy dinner at the beverly hills hilton on saturday night and then about after leaving the party about five miles away from the hotel police say that chris brown and a woman in his vehicle, became involved in an argument. He stopped the car. They both got out of the car, and that's when the argument escalated. 911 was called. Officers found the woman at the scene, but Chris Brown had left the scene, and that's when he was wanted for this felony battery and making criminal threats.
They say that the woman suffered visible injuries and identified Chris Brown as her attacker. Now, of course, if you put two and two together, it sounds like it was Rihanna because she was the one who was with him just a couple minutes prior. All Rihanna's spokesperson would say is that Rihanna is well, and she thanks everyone for their concern and support. That's a huge story. Yeah, Chris Brown and Rihanna have been a couple for over a year now, and recently had sparked engagement rumors when she has been wearing this fat diamond ring on her ring finger. Wow. So, who knows? Let's see. There was other big news announced last night that a pretty big band were rekindling their bandship, and We'll talk about that a little bit later on. P1 Scooby is on the line. Scoob. I want to talk about Whitney Houston. Didn't see her. Dude, she on something. She was on one. She was really on one? She was really weird, man. I thought I was watching Paula Abdul. Wasn't she the first presenter of the night? Yeah, right out of the gate. What was she presenting? Do you guys remember?
I think it was Best R&B. Yes, it was Best R&B, which went to Jennifer Hudson. And yeah, it was weird, man. She'd go from being like really calm and like almost her cadence was too slow to starting to yell and get real ghetto and be like, you know, what's up? You know, that kind of stuff. Really? Yeah. Man, I wish it was a trip. I'm looking on here. We don't have necessarily a clip of that one, but maybe we could find it. 570-1053. Thank you, Scoob. 570-1053 is our number if you want to give us a call. Football's gone. Yesterday was the Pro Bowl and now we have I guess until... What will happen next of interest, Eddie? The draft? Draft in April. Draft. So you have that to look forward to. On the show today, you have a lot to look forward to. The next break, we're going to be doing the cockpit audio and The 60 Minutes interview with Captain Sully. Sully! Oh, Sully! From the plane that landed in the Hudson River. It's great, man. It's great. We also have audio of Christian Bale finally talking about it. Oh, that's great. And it is, it's... It's a good... Dynamic. That's adorable. It's good. Stuff we will stop and really... Sky says Metallica. Well, we'll find out what the Grammy was in a little bit. And we'll also, who knows, maybe Lars will call in. How good.
Since they won the Grammy. And just a lot of really great stuff on the show today. We have a very, very full show. P1 Marcus has a comment about the Grammys. Go ahead, Marcus. Despite the fact I love Rear Def, I want to tell you what you guys thought of what M.I.A. was wearing last night. What, what, what? So, you know that song you like, that paper, what is it, paper planes? Right, right, right. Well, the gal that sings that was months pregnant. She was due to deliver. Yesterday. Are you serious? That was her due date. So she's on stage in this crazy outfit. It's like sheer, like a sheer black top. But where her belly is and where her boobs are. Right. Or these like white circles. Dude, I mean, it was bizarre. Really? Yeah.
She's up there dancing around, nine months pregnant, ready to give. There's always a freak element that goes on during Grammy Awards. You get that many celebrities together and just strange stuff. They're a different breed. I wonder, does everybody that's performing, because there's a lot of people performing and giving stuff out, are they all... sitting in their seats, out in the audience, and then they get up? I think so. Is that how it works? Yeah. So there's not like one big green room backstage, right? Yeah. Because I was like, how would that work? Congratulations. Your mic's on. She's so cute. Your mic's on. She's having a hard time remembering that, poor Quim. She's doing her best. She's trying to figure that one out. In the stand-up spotlight, Stephen Wright and we're going to play the actual cockpit audio. Dude, I've heard this audio. It is so compelling to listen to. We're going to play that cockpit audio and also just crazy audio from the 60 minutes on the plane landing in the Hudson River. It's next. I'm doing a little work on my house. I put hardwood floors over wall-to-wall carpeting. I put fake brick wallpaper over a real brick wall.
Just so I'd be the only one who knew. People come over and say, you gotta touch it, it feels like it's real. The walls of my house have paintings of the rooms above them, so I never have to go upstairs. I bought a cordless extension cord. Join the P1 Text Army. Text Mikey to 35253. Standard grade supply. And Eddie's got the sports dirt coming up before the hour is done. So we're going to get the latest on what's going on in sports and the big controversies that are going on today and the big stories and the stuff that people are biting into. Oh, I'm wondering what there is. I don't even know. I saw some teases on the news this weekend, but I don't know any false stories. You don't know.
What's going on in the sports world? You better be careful, dude. Sometimes. You better be careful. Yeah, there's a lot. There's a lot more names that can come out. Oh, they did that. Save it. Save it, Eddie. Save it. You're the one yapping. I'm not saving anything. Yeah, why are you telling him to save it? You're not saving it. He's got it. He's got it. So here is. Wow. Take a listen to this. This is the cockpit of flight 1549. As it's landing in the Hudson River, you get to listen to the cockpit audio. All right, Captain, it's 1549. It's going to be left traffic to runway 31. On April. Okay, what do you need to land? Captain, it's 1549. Runway 4 is available if you want to make left traffic to runway 4. I'm not sure we can make any runway go home. What's over to our right? Anything in New Jersey? Maybe Teterboro. Okay, yeah, off your right side is Teterboro Airport. Do you want to try to go to Teterboro? Yeah. Teterboro Empire. Actually, LaGuardia Departure got emergency inbound. There you go.
Cactus 1529 over the George Washington Bridge. He wants to go to the airport right now. He wants to go to our airport. Check. Does he need assistance? Yes. It was a bird strike. Can I get him in for runway 1? Runway 1. That's good. Cactus 1529, turn right 280. You can land runway 1 at Teterboro. We can't do it. Okay. Which runway would you like at Teterboro? We're going to be in the Hudson. Cactus 1549, radar contact is lost. You also got Newark Airport up at 2 o'clock in about 7 miles. 210718. I think he said he was going in the Hudson. That is chilling. Oh, my gosh. That is chilling. Wow. It's insane. The calm in their voice. It's so calm. Dude. Let me tell you. Let me tell you. This is screaming. Yeah, if that was me making that up. No. You're like, what are you talking about? Listen. Wow. So, now I have audio of him on 60 Minutes, you know, the captain. And this dude is hard as nails, man. You're a hero, Sully.
This guy is hard as nails. And I think that the thing that struck me the most listening to him talk about this is just how we're all different. We're all wired completely differently. And this guy is wired like a Vulcan. He is wired like Spock. Love it. When he's getting asked questions by Katie Couric, he is just like... And it may sound at times insensitive, but what you're hearing is a guy just answering questions. He's just, you know, that's the way his brain operates. It was the worst sickening pit of your stomach falling through the floor feeling I've ever felt. Did you think, how are we going to get ourselves out of this? No. My initial reaction was one of disbelief. I can't believe this is happening. This doesn't happen to me. What did you mean by that? I meant that I had this expectation that my career would be one in which I didn't crash an airplane. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Sure. You bet, right? That's a good goal to have. Right. P1 Dooser. Dooser, are you there? Yeah. You're on the air, bro. What did you want to say? Man, I was just trying to comment about the pilots and how calm they're being right now. Mm-hmm. Yeah, he sounds amazingly calm, right?
Right. I could hardly drive my car right now, let alone fly that airplane into the Hudson. Yeah, I know it. I know it. Well, dude, keep listening because he starts to describe the process of landing this plane, okay? Wow. Yeah, just keep listening. Now, in this clip, he talks about what it was like when the birds started to hit the plane, which, by the way, I don't think any of us kind of, this is new information that we weren't privy to. Listen to this. It was a normal climb out in every regard. And about 90 seconds after takeoff, I noticed there were birds filling the entire windscreen. Top to bottom, left to right, large birds. Too close to avoid. When did you realize these birds had hit the plane? Oh, you could hear them as soon as they did. Loud thumps. It felt like the airplane being pelted by heavy rain or hail. It sounded like the worst thunderstorm I'd ever heard growing up in Texas. It was shocking. Wow. Wow. I've always wondered that with, because you see on airplanes where the pilot sits and their windows, you know when you're like walking off? Yeah, yeah. Their windows are so tiny. And not only that, you know the other thing that always struck me about it is how high the wind, how high the instrument panel sits. It sits so high. Like they must have a million blind spots, you know? Yeah. You can't see.
too well out of that. Yeah, I mean, you can't really see what's going on. I mean, we in our seats have a much better view of the outside than it appears that they do. You know, they have kind of a horizontal, the horizon, a view of the horizon, but they don't really can't... They don't have any side view mirrors. Yeah, where's the side views? You know what I'm saying? That should be illegal. So take a listen to this. And again, listen to... You know, she asks a question where you think there will be a very logical answer, and he, very Spock-like, says... So you were going fast toward the Earth. Yes, the water was coming up at us fast. No, not Mars. Earth. She's the best. Towards what planet were you falling? Gravity. Think about the passengers. She asked, did you think about the passengers at this point? That moment. Not specifically. I mean... I had to solve this problem. I knew I had to find a way out of this box I found myself in. Did you think about the passengers? Not specifically. I mean, I'm okay with that. I don't want him thinking about me. Think about landing the sucker safely. Yeah, get your mind on that. Yeah, that's awesome. Here he lists the things that he had to do. What were some of the things you had to do to make this landing successful? I needed to touch down with the wings exactly level.
I needed to touch down with the nose slightly up. I needed to touch down at a decent rate that was survivable. To touch down just above our minimum flying speed but not below it. Make all these things happen simultaneously. Keep your cool. Physiological reaction I had to this was strong. And I had to force myself to use my training and force calm on the situation. Was that a hard thing to do? No. It just took some concentration. Did it feel like three and a half minutes? Yes, it did. Really? It wasn't in slow motion or... I wish it had been. I might have thought about more things on the way down. Wow. I love this guy. Oh, man. I love hearing how he thinks. I love hearing what it's like from a pilot's perspective. Speaking of, P1 John, you there? John, can you hear me? Now, you're in aviation, right? Talk to me about these guys.
taught to completely defeat a problem. If something happens, they're taught to absolutely handle the situation and take charge of the emergency and not let the emergency beat you mentally. So they have to go back to their training, because I'm sure at some point they learned about landing in the water, right? Well, I'm in the military, so we practice landing in the water. You practice maneuver, so when you land in the water, it's at a survivable rate of descent. Now, when you hear him talking very frankly and sort of bluntly, Does it sound familiar to you? Is it the type of... Yeah, absolutely. I've been in in-flight emergencies before, and that's exactly how you have to handle the problem. You instantly have to be a professional, and you're taught to make decisions that are going to directly affect the outcome of your life. That's who I want flying my plane. Heck yeah. For sure. I made the Brace for Impact announcement in the cabin, and immediately through the...
Hardened cockpit door. I heard the flight attendants began shouting their commands in response to my command to brace. Heads down. Stay down. I could hear them clearly. They were chanting it in unison over and over again to the passengers to warn them and instruct them. I felt they were on the same page. If I could land the airplane, that they could get them out safely. But there was still a big if. I was sure I could do it. Hard as nails. Hard as nails. That is crazy. God. Can he just fly every plane that I have to be on? Absolutely. I mean, that stuff is fantastic. Here's him talking about talking to one of the passengers on one of the life rafts. Did they talk to you? One man did. He said, you saved my life. Thank you. And what did you say? I said, you're welcome. You're welcome. Yeah, you're welcome, dude. You're welcome. Wow. That's it? Yeah.
And at that point also, I was telling the people on the deck of the boats to rescue the people in the wings first. Because we in the rafts were relatively safe. Did you see those people standing on that wing? Yes. It's an amazing sight. That dude's great. Now, check this out. Apparently, when this all goes down, right? And they're in the life rafts or whatever, and they're pulling out of there, and they're doing their thing. Obviously, people are taking their cell phones out that were on the flight, calling their loved ones, letting their loved ones know because their loved ones are probably watching on TV, right? Captain Sully's no different. He calls his wife. One of the first calls Captain Sullenberger made was to his wife, Lori. What did he say to you? Well, I'll tell on myself and say that when he did call our house, I was actually on the other line and I ignored the phone call. Twice. Twice. Two times.
Now, every guy sitting here right now knows what happens when we call our wives a lot of times, you know? They go, oh, I'll call them back. And you get the voicemail. You know? That is brutal. This is one of those situations. And when he called the third time, I said to the person, I think I should take the call. I think you should, too. That would be a good idea. Yeah, you might want to answer on this one. And so I hung up and took the call from Sully. And he was very calm and said, I just wanted you to know I'm okay. But I thought that meant that he was on the flight coming home, that he had made the connection and was coming home. She had no idea. I'm talking to Susie Comey later. Yes. Okay, that's good. And he said, no, there's been an incident. I had to ditch an airplane in the Hudson River. And I laid down on the bed. For a moment, I wasn't crying, but I was just shocked. I was shaking hard. Yes. Oh, my gosh. I mean, how do you even process it? How do you even process it? So I'm telling you, man, that dude is just hard as nails. What a stud. And just, you know, he did everything right and got that sucker to land. And some of us, you know, you just got to ask yourself, well, how good am I under pressure?
This guy gets to prove how good he is under pressure. Oh, yeah. You heard all the different stuff that he had to do when he had to land this thing, and he did it all pretty good. People in Big John's on the line. Hey, good morning, Mike. How are you doing? Good, man. I couldn't help noticing listening to the guy that he sounds just like Jeff Goldblum's character in Jurassic Park. Is that right? Oh, wow. Yeah, a little bit. He kind of does. Now that I'm thinking. Remember Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park? Absolutely, dude. He's the funniest guy. Let's listen again. It was a normal. climb out in every... Oh, my God! I noticed there were birds filling the entire... Oh, yeah. Dude! That's crazy. Great call. I'm glad he said it after. I would have been thinking Jurassic Park that whole interview. I know it. Thanks, brother. Man, dude, he's actually very right about that. That's cool. So, anyway... So, not only can that guy land a plane in the Hudson, but he does an impeccable Jeff Goldback. Yes. Wow. Wow. I heard he makes great grilled cheese. I don't know if it's true. Well, that's the ultimate trifecta right there. It is. It is. I don't know if it's true. It is true. It is true. I've had it. What kind of bread? What kind of cheese? I'm not telling you. Are you crazy? I don't believe you then. I don't care. Ladies and gentlemen, Sky is now going to tell us when the rain will leave us. Oh, no.
Sky, give me a time. If she is wrong. If you're wrong. If you're wrong, Sky, we will hold you. Well, then I'm not going to say that. No, you must. We've already done that right there. We've already heard that news. Don't have the information. So you have to, yeah. There it is again. It means you definitely. Oh, no, that means the number two is up. Don't mess with the truth, Mel. Eddie, should we wait and really, maybe we can, you know what I'm saying? Wow. And when she comes back, she'll tell us when. Well. Could do that. Maybe, Sky, you can research it and make sure that you're 100%. Double check. All right. I will double check for you. First of all, I want to know who won the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines. So when we come back, we'll do the sports dirt. And Eddie will tell you. And he'll also be telling us about these big things that are going on. Big things that are going on. And the Encinitas protester up in the tree. Well, apparently, he's left there. the tree. Oh, wait, what? Dude, it was raining. Well, we will tell you why he left the tree. There is some controversy, by the way, as to him leaving the tree because it's a game of he said, she said. And if you don't know it, this guy actually was on the Mikey show on Friday. We talked to him from the tree. And so we'll give you some of that coming up as well. Mikey.

This is not Right Said Fred. I thought this was Right Said Fred. This isn't the guy that sings I'm Too Sexy for My Clothes. How? I was 100% sure on that. All right, Skye. When is it going to rain? Don't say it right now. When is it going to stop? Right now, Mike. It's raining as we speak. Wow, you're good. Stop. She'll do it. Don't mess up your flawless record. She's got it. Don't mess up this flawless record. Okay, like I've said before, weather isn't a science. There's always estimates. We know we had a lot of wacky weather over the weekend. I can attest to that. So they say that today should be our last day of rain. Yeah, right. You're the worst. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7 o'clock tonight. They say we're going to see the bulk of the rain this morning, clearing up this afternoon. And then no rain is forecast for tomorrow. Oh, boy. All right.
It looks like a little more coming this weekend. It looks like, but it's hard to... I'm coming in with no shirt tomorrow and shorts. Okay, that's weird. And if you haven't already turned off your sprinklers, remember, turn your sprinklers off. I thought this was the best time. No, it's the worst time. When it rains, it pours. That means you put your sprinklers on. You're wasting water. Your grass is going to be saturated for quite a while. Oh, no. Do you know that if you overwater, sometimes you get mushrooms? Did you know that? Really? And you'll never see them. I know it. You never see them. You never even know they're there until you put too much water. Oh, yeah. It's gross, kind of. It's weird. It's gross. Put them in a salad. Sky had hail. I wouldn't do that. Right, Sky? Dude. Like, I would more, like, call it snow. Pictures, right? You got pictures? Well, I had pictures, but Ashley says my pictures are too big. to put on the vlog, like they need to be resized. So we got to wait till Daniel, do you know how to do it, Rob? I don't, but I know what that means. Okay. We got to wait for our web guy to get in and he'll post them up. So hopefully, you know, by the end of the show, they'll be up. But I took pictures because it was so freaking crazy. Yeah, I can email them to you. Like literally, if you looked out the window, it looked like it had snowed because everything was white because everything was covered. Hail? Yeah.
Dude, that stuff trips me out. How big was this guy? Marble size, pea size, acorn, grapefruit, pineapple. I'd say somewhere in between. VW. That's weird. But, yeah, like it was crazy. Everything was white. Like, here, I'm going to forward you my video. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I got to see it. I got to see it. It was cold, man. And the mountains around San Diego, you can see all the snow up there. It's beautiful. Yeah. So I sent them to your email. But, yeah. So they'll hopefully be up on my blog later today after we can resize the pictures. But it was the craziest thing I'd ever seen. I mean, my whole entire yard. Like, you look out the front yard and you see people's cars, like, covered. And the roofs, you know, all covered. I believe it snowed. I call that snow. That's California snow. Why not? That is a great term for it. 570-1053 is our number if you want to give us a call about that. Okay, so the Encinitas, and we got Sports Dirt coming up here in just a second. Quite a big story. Quite a big story. Quite a big story. That will be in about 90 seconds. We'll be getting to that. But the tree man, okay? Tree man. Sit in that tree if you can. And apparently he can't. Apparently not.
What happened? Okay, so we talked about this last week. This guy, it was a week ago Friday, I think it was, got up in this tree in Encinitas that they were planning on cutting down because they had planted these trees in this park. And the law said if these trees obscure the ocean view of these condos right next to it, then they take them down. So the plan was take these trees down. plant baby trees in an area where it's not going to block a view, great. Well, this one dude, he wasn't having it. So it was his mission to save one of the, I think it was like 11 or 12 trees they were taken down. So he set up camp up in one of these trees. A little platform was hanging out there. All his friends would come out. They're playing hippie music, doing all their stuff. So he said that he was going to stay up in that tree until the mayor came out and assured him that that tree would be saved. Okay. Well, come Sunday morning. Where's Tree Guy? Yeah, where are you, Tree Man? Where'd you go, Tree Guy? Well, Tree Guy's sister, who I guess lives in Escondido, said that Tree Guy called her Saturday morning and said that the mayor had called him on his cell phone. Oh, personally. Really? Yes, personally called him on his cell phone. That's a great question. I don't know. Yellow pages. And assured him that that tree would not be taken down, that they were going to keep the plaque.
form up there as kind of like a like just in case maybe they need to get back kind of like a memoir yes yeah yeah and that they were also going to plant a community garden around the tree and so when the press got word of this they called the mayor of encinitas and she said no i never called that guy um I've heard he's telling people I called him, but... Wait, the mayor of Encinitas is a woman? That's the story. What's bigger news? That's the story. Women in politics, talk about it, Scott. Go, lead. Go, you go. Anyway, she says that the city plans to remove the tree, just as before. When the sister of Tree Guy was asked, where is Tree Guy? She said... that he told her that he was taking the train and heading to Santa Barbara to recoup and relax, and he was going to turn his cell phone off for about a week just to unplug from everything. Well, here was Tree Man on Friday talking to us, and I couldn't get a direct answer from him when asking him the question, how long will you stay in the tree? But I finally asked him, I guess, for like the third time, and here's what he said. Well, indefinitely.
They can't get us down and stuff. Well, yeah, but what if nobody cares and nobody wants to get you down? Oh, right. Well, then I'll live the rest of my life in this trio. Well, wait a second. You'll stay there the rest of your life? Sure, yeah. I don't think you will. I think you're going to get tired of it really soon. Oh, no. Well, that was a bit pathetic, wasn't it? Wow. 24 hours later. Yes. Okay. Who knows, but what if somebody prank called this guy claiming to be the mayor? What if that happens? Oh, that's funny. That is insane. He's like, oh, I won. I'm out. Oh, my gosh. That is hysterical. That's awesome. Now, you also remember he mentioned something like about a city council thing. Do you guys remember that? As long as we have to. City council meeting on Wednesday, coming up next Wednesday at 6 o'clock. So if anybody wants to come start an angry mob at town hall, they're more than welcome to. Just no torches or anything like that or tar and feather. So we'll be all right.
No tar and feathers. No. Torches. No. Well, that's what I always angry mob with. Yeah. I mean, hello. I was just at Angry Mobs RS this weekend getting my gear. Yeah. Hello. This is the mayor. We have won. We're time to come back. It's the mayor of the cheese, bro. Nobody told you that. Yes. Wow. Dude, we totally won. Dang it. Oh. Let's do a little of this. Now, with the top sports stories of the day, it's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. Little-known Nick Watney, who rallied from five behind to overtake John Rollins to win the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines this weekend. American, Australian. He's American. That is such an Australian-sounding name to me. I think he is Australian. What is it? Nick Watney. Nick Watney. I'm thinking British. No, I think he's Australian. Nick Watney sounds like something that's been out in the at-beck at some point. Yeah, it was crazy. He actually came down to the last hole, came down to the 18, and he had never led the tournament, and he ended up birdieing 18, and John Rollins, I think, just parted. And so Nick Watney jumped him, and he won the tournament. And here he is talking about winning the Buick. Well, I knew it wasn't over. My uncle always said that...
this is who now? He's American. He played at Fresno State. Okay, so not this one, right? No, no, this is the right one. He's just not Australian. He's from Fresno. He's from Fresno. Got it. And our team, it was never easy. Winning the golf tournament, it was never easy. So I knew we had some good holes to play. And I definitely didn't want to give up and just try to keep my head down and give myself chances, and I was able to make some putts. Fresno, Australia's very own Nick Watney there talking about it. Very close. And then John Rollins, who had led for most of the tournament and just kind of choked at the end. He talks about what happened on 18. Yeah, I was just trying to get it on the green, obviously. I mean, I saw him knocking on, and I knew that just to give myself either a possible chance to make an eagle to win or You know, just a two-putt birdie, you never really know what will happen. That's a tough green when you hit it way up on the back where he was. It's, you know, tough to judge his speed, and he did it beautifully. But unfortunately, I got over my second shot a little bit, left myself in a tough spot in the bunker, and hit a pretty good shot, but couldn't convert. You blew it. Let's just say it. Eddie, I was, did you watch it? I watched the whole tournament. Did you enjoy it? I loved it.
I love watching tournaments that are here in San Diego, you know? You know, me, dude, I don't know anything about golf, but I kind of enjoyed watching. I kind of enjoyed it, you know, especially since it was here in our own backyard and all that. Well, it's cool because I've played that course, you know? I mean, it's weird seeing guys, you know, the holes that, like, I've played. And they're on it. They're on it. And they're trying, you know, they're hacking away, too. It's awesome. Is it super hard? Oh, it's weird. Like, when I play out there, I feel like I don't deserve to be out there. Really? Because it's like I'm not good enough to play out there. So it's super hard to actually get out there and... Because I thought to myself, I wonder if you were to take somebody like Boston Rob and you were to give him a golf bag full of clubs and a ball, how many strokes would it take for Boston Rob to complete the course? Over 150. I'm not joking around. What are the pros doing? Well, I mean, par is 72. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Probably. I'd take closer to 200. No, because I slice a lot of golf balls. So I'd be playing in the woods for most of the time. Or the water. If they ever allow it, you know what we should do? We should do a bit. Oh, no. Where one weekend, Torrey Pines allows me to go out there. And we let listeners call in and say like 350, 400. You know, like give guesses of how many it would actually take for me to complete the course. We should do you and me. It would take us...
Three days. Dude. That would be crazy. I saw these guys hitting that ball and I thought, how did they do that? It's amazing. They are great. I'm the best from the sand. I got to say that. Okay, you don't know. The one time I went golfing, I got two. The one time. That doesn't mean you're the best. It's when you're doing that top gun volleyball is what you're talking about. Yeah, I was just shooting it. Yeah, exactly. Well, this is kind of the of course of the weekend. Larry Fitzgerald. I got it. is the MVP leading the NFC over the AFC in the Pro Bowl, 30-21. Congratulations, Ashley. He's great. He caught two touchdowns in the game and was named the game's MVP. Fantastic. He's the best. All right, here's the story everybody was talking about this weekend. Dude, get into it. Get into it. This is unbelievable, but reports are that Alex Rodriguez, a.k.a. A-Rod, Tested positive for anabolic steroids in 2003. Wow. The year that he won the AL Home Run title and the MVP award. Dude. Can you believe that? I heard. Oh, boy. He said he only would let Derek Jeter inject him. Can we have a serious conversation? Can we have a serious conversation, please? I don't need this time. Can we?
I think he's right. That he would only take injections in the buttocks region. Okay. And specifically... Your penis does not define you. I heard it too. This is not smart for Boston Raw because... Apparently, back in 2003, they did a random survey, a random testing of all of the players in baseball to see if they needed mandatory testing and, you know, like random drug testing, things like that for steroids. And 104 players came back positive. Apparently, one of them was A-Rod, and his name got leaked to the press. And, you know, now there's obviously this huge controversy. I mean, that's one of 104. So, you know, Rob, I would be real careful about pointing fingers because if these names come out and, you know, apparently they're coming at me. Oh, dude. Who knows who's on that list? Okay, let's see. Let's see. I didn't point any fingers. Hey, listen, Rob, you know if the list is that big, you think you're not going to hear a couple of Red Sox games on that list? Come on. Amen. So, apparently A-Rod's out of the country. He's on vacation. Oh, really? Madonna.
Have you seen Santa Barbara with a tree dude? Yes. So we'll have to wait and see what A-Rod has to say about this whole mess. So, Eddie, does it at all surprise you? Does it come as a shock to you? Or are you like, well, I mean, I'm surprised to hear his name, but didn't expect to hear that name? Yeah, I mean, a little bit. I mean, it's tough because I feel so grossed out by what's going on. you know, with these guys, it's like, I mean, the three biggest names in the past five years are easily Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, and Alex Rodriguez. And now, apparently, they've all, you know, been using steroids and all of their images are trash now. And it's like, well, what's left? You know, now where do we go from here? Well, and the problem is, is that in 03, it was illegal to be doing it, right?
When they say this came... Steroids are illegal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But there was no rules in Major League Baseball that prohibited you. When did that happen? I think the next year, 2004, is when they started testing. Well, and I don't know if anybody feels this way, and I don't even know why I feel this way, but I feel bad for these guys because these guys signed up to do an anonymous test. And now their names are all over the press. And, you know, this test was to try and see, do we need to clean up baseball? And they participated in it. And now baseball is, you know, in the process of being cleaned up. But, you know, what happened to the whole anonymous part? I think that sucks. Yeah, that's crazy. And, you know, Curt Schilling, Rob. is quoted in, I guess he writes a blog or something like that, about how, you know, it's not cool to just say A-Rod's name. Like, if you're going to give names, let's hear all 104. Like, why are we pointing out just A-Rod? Like, that's not right. Yeah. And who is releasing the info? It's a leak. I don't know. Nobody knows. Yeah, I read over the weekend that, like, with the whole Balco investigation, the testing, this anonymous testing in 2003 was subpoenaed.
for the Belco investigation, and somebody inside of that leaked it. Wow. Really? Yeah, that's what I heard. That's wrong, man. Dude, that's gnarly. Yep. Okay, so Christian Bale, he hasn't spoken out about his tirade. You know, you heard the audio when Christian Bale flipped out, man, on the director of photography when they were doing the Terminator. He flipped out. And on Friday... He was on the Kevin and Bean radio show in K-Rock in Los Angeles. And he talks about all of it. He addresses whether or not he was in character or out of character. I mean, literally, like, my brain is blank. The Mikey Show's on Rock 105.3. how you wouldn't know it, but in case you didn't know it, Christian Bale has a bit of a temper. No. What? Yeah, yeah. He, you know, he went off on a director of photography of Terminator, what is it called? Salvation? Terminator Salvation. And, you know, we played the audio back. It was pretty sensational. I mean, he's really going for it. He's using some pretty colorful language. He gets into it pretty hardcore. That's a nice way to put it. Yeah. Colorful language. Very colorful language. Yeah.
And so we haven't really heard too much from Christian since this happened. And now he's speaking out about it. He was on the Kevin and Bean radio program at K-Rock in L.A. And he's basically getting into it. The thing that I really want to stress is I have no so ever. I was way out of order. I acted like a punk. I regret that. is nobody harder by it than me. So I make no excuses for it. It is inexcusable. And I hope that that is absolutely clear. Question. Wow. Eddie. Yeah. Do you think we will hear of this happening again? It sounds to me from everything that I've heard and read that Christian Bale is a very deep method actor. And then when he's thrown off his game,
He flips out like that. And this isn't the first time that this has happened. And so if that's how you work, you recognize, yeah, I screwed up and I can't do that again. But if he's in the middle of something and he's deep into it, I don't know how he's not going to flip out. Which is tough because you have to not attack people. You know what I mean? But at the same time, you're so deep into it, you have to figure out something else. Yeah, he's got to come up with a new way of going about things because if something like this comes out again and he recognized that, hey, I was a jerk, I fessed up to it, and he does it again, then these words don't mean anything. Yeah, see, because that's the deal. You're sort of waiting for him to say, hey, man, messed up. Sorry about that. You know, my bad. And, you know, this won't happen again. Because I like what he said. Yeah. I mean, what he said there, you know, he fessed up to it. He says, like, I was 100% out of line. Yeah. I was a punk. And, you know, I feel really horrible about it. Oh, I loved it. I love what he said. I think that's really cool. But if we hear that it happens again, then you're like, well, okay. Now, here he is. He's addressing exactly what Eddie's talking about and getting so deep into the character.
so many people who were given opinions about this, but you know what? None of them were there. Now, so we're making Terminator. I'm assuming you're familiar with the mythology. Of course. Have you seen T2? Yes, yes, yes. It is a great movie. And in it, you will meet Sarah Connor. And she is in an insane asylum. Why is she there? Because she is crazy. Now, I played John Connor, her son, and on the day Now, John isn't crazy, though, right? No. Or is John crazy? No, John's, you know, he becomes eventually the leader of this, like, revolution. Right. All of this happened, the scene that we were doing, I was trying to show a little of that in the blood. You know what? The reasons... I'm yelling at his director of photography, ironically. That's weird. And very coincidentally, John Connor is going to go into the future and...
he decides that he needs to hire a director of photography. Right. What? To sort of... Now, this was all cut from the film. In the end, it didn't make much sense. To really blame John Connor. Yes, it is. It's his fault. It is his fault. I will only answer questions as John Connor. Okay. But be careful, he's a little... Yeah, hello. Okay, I'll tip the bloodline. Yes. And Shane, the DP, and every crew member who was in there... hangar at Kirtland Air Force Base that day. They know the reasons. I got annoyed, and then what happened? I made it ugly, and that was awful to me. I took it way too far. Half John Connor, I'm half Christian there, and... He says he was in character. Now I don't like it anymore. You don't like it anymore. Now there's only half accountability. He should have just stopped that. Hey, I'm a punk, and I'm sorry. That's right. Now, there was actually something that apparently bothered Christian about this whole incident. Because ever since it happened, you know, we've all been talking about it, right? Well, there was a part of it that bothered Christian, and he wanted to address it. One thing that has really disturbed me throughout this is I'm just, I'm not familiar, I'm not comfortable yet with this notion of being a movie star. I've always, I'm an actor, and I don't quite know how to handle the movie star thing. And the thing that disturbs me so much is that I've heard a lot of people say,
in that I seem to think I'm better than anybody else. Is it Cockney? Is that what it is? Is it like the rough side of Wales or something? Is he British? Is he Australian? Is he Scottish? He's some type of British. Yeah? I am a lucky dog. S.O.B., right? What I do, I never forget that, and that is why I'm much into what I do and why I care so much about it and why sometimes that enthusiasm, right, you know, and I really am. Thinking that I'm better than anybody else. Dick a fork in my... Turn me over, I will be done. That is not me. He resents that people are saying that he thinks he's bitter. Right, right. It's not that I'm bitter. I mean, I'm bitter at yelling. There's no doubt about it. Practically a professional. Practically a professional. There's no doubt about that. He's from Wales. I don't... Yeah.
He was supposed to wail. If you're from Wales, that's what you do. That's right. Where did the expression came from? Let's see. Now, you've got to ask yourself, okay, so how was the rest of the movie with this dude after you screamed at him like that? And what about now? How long ago did this actually happen? This was back in July of last year. July of last year, okay. And how long was it before? Which, by the way, not to defend myself, was National Scream at your director of photography. It was. I didn't know that. I didn't know. Not to defend it, I'm just saying. Yeah, okay. What, you've talked to the DP now? Oh, listen, listen. I've not only talked with him. He's my roommate. You have a roommate? We're mates. Yeah, we're mates. We're best mates. We're fishing chips last night. He's my flatmate. That's right. Made him live in a flat, we do. Okay. Solve this completely. That very day. We kiss bumped. Oh, wow. Yeah, we kiss bumped. He says that very day they made up. Oh. Kept working for a number of hours. Listen, when I'm saying I'm not coming back on that set if he's still hired. I mean, I'm not coming back on that set if he's still hired. That's what I mean by that, all right? That's what you said. If you're asking yourself. You know what?
I don't believe that. I have no intention of getting anybody fired. I really don't. I just like to scream it at the top of me lungs. And say I intend to get you fired. But read between the lines, right? And also, don't read too much into it. I don't want John Connor. Yes. John Connor wants the director of photography fires. I absolutely believe in Shane's capability. job on that movie we not only kept working that day we worked together for at least a month after that every single day we saw each other we built a treehouse together you know just to show we could work together that's right two weeks back and we worked together then but the next morning ah this is my chef he gave me his kidney that's right there is no problem whatsoever. I don't even need it. He gave it to me because he lost me. That's right.
Director of Photography's Kidney, how are you today? I'm good, how are you? Wait. I'm good. Hey, thank you for being mates of me. You're welcome. Christian, are you just doing the voice of the kidney? No, that's my mate's kidney. He wouldn't do that unless he loved me. Okay. He's doing a great job with it. And I really want through this that in case anybody has considered he's not doing a great job. I want everyone to know, I've seen a rough cut of the movie, it looks fantastic, and he has done a wonderful professional job, and I don't want anyone to have a misunderstanding about that. Yeah, I say he was the worst I'd ever seen, but, you know, then I saw the movie, and I was like, eh, it's not that bad, mate. It's actually pretty good. I don't believe that for a second. Well, Skye. That they made up that day. Now, hang on. I don't know about that either. Please. The guy had no choice. You're the star. He has to kiss your ass and be like, oh, yeah, it's all good. That's right. Well, that's what we heard on the tape. I mean, that's what we heard. Now, Skye. What? Then he says, we all have to ask ourselves this question. So, please, I just want to make completely clear. I am embarrassed by it.
And I regret it. And I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, have they ever had a bad day? Yeah. And have they ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely? 100%. Legitimate question. Yeah, but I've never threatened to get somebody fired before I've gone that far. Or to destroy property. I've never threatened to do that. Yeah, I have. I can totally relate. Yeah, but you've been kicked out of Canada, dude. You're not even allowed back in that country. A lot of booze, just breaking stuff. So, yeah, I like Christian Bale. In defense to all of us, you have Boston tattooed on your neck. That's a great point. So, we've got to consider that, you know? And then, oddly, Christian wants to give us his thoughts on Michael Phelps. And, by the way, this is not like a question. What do you think of Michael Phelps? As you'll hear... He just wants to get it out there. One extra thing. Nothing to do with the movie, but I was listening to the radio earlier on. The Mikey Show. Yes. Michael Phelps. Yes. Swim in the next Olympics. Yeah. This guy has a God... I have a question. What? Is it in question whether or not Michael is considering dropping out of the Olympics? Not for a second, Mike. Is he so embarrassed that he's... No. No? Not very bad. Okay. No. Because he wants him to...
No. I implore you, Michael. Yes, I'm thanking you, Michael. Please swim in there. Just get in that pool and swimmy, swimmy, swimmy. What, man? Oh, man. Please, please. Given talent. I think he will. So he smoked a bit of weed. Plenty of our presidents have. Yeah. I do. I don't know what the message is here. I don't know what the... Good argument. Yes, at this point... He is imploring Michael to switch gears and please swim next time. Yes. Then he's saying, it's okay, all of our presidents have smoked weed. And then goes on to say... Look at the current one. Everybody makes mistakes from it. You know, do not waste that godlike talent. Swim in the next Olympics, please. There it is. Which are, what, tomorrow, Christian? I don't understand. It's just swimming with boat-legged women. That is the weirdest interview I've heard in a long time. Isn't that nuts? It's kind of crazy. What the heck? P1 Alcatraz is on the line. Are you there, Alcatraz? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? Hey, I was wondering, I think it'll all probably be more clear when we could actually see the scene he was doing before he flipped out. Now, how's that? I was watching the making of the movie Monster with Charlize Theron. Uh-huh. And there was a part on the scene where I guess she kills a guy and she's crying.
But in the making of the movie, after the scene was done, she was still hysterical and crying. They actually had to comfort her and console her. Yeah. So she was still in character and couldn't even drop it. Yeah, and, you know, I mean, I think that that is a perfectly reasonable explanation that when you get so into character, you're sort of in character. I think that the issue that people have is when you become abusive to others. Being in tears and needing people to console her doesn't necessarily sound like abusive behavior upon others. I mean, if anybody, maybe herself, she's sort of like upset. But I think that where people have issues is where he's becoming abusive to others. And plus, then you add on top of that, you're like, well, there seems to be a lot of actors that have somehow managed to be very deep method actors. Al Pacino, Robert De Niro. Gary Oldman. Gary Oldman. Great example. Gary Coleman. Gary Coleman, I think, is probably the best example. That is. Strong. You know what I mean? Strong. That's right. Who I think has really shown. Yeah. But you know what I'm saying? Do you get what I'm saying? Yeah. I get what you're saying, but I think I'll probably be more accepting or more forgiving if I would see the scene he was doing. If I was doing a calm scene where he's just chit-chatting and he puts it out, I wouldn't.
Well, let's say that it's like the most intense scene in the world. The interesting thing, and maybe there's plenty of cases that we just haven't heard about because this has come out publicly, but I'm just going to offer a suggestion. I don't know if this is true, but it could be that there are other actors that are really, really deep method actors that have done really intense scenes and not... gone off on their director of photography in the same way where they're threatening to kick his butt. It could be. I don't know. You know, we're not there. I didn't hear about Ed Norton fighting everyone after Fight Club. Exactly. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. So, anyway, hey, listen, I appreciate the phone call, brother. All right, man. Y'all have a good day. Thanks. P1 Rob. Hey, guys. What's going on, man? Hey, I just wanted to comment. What did Christian Bale mean by all our presidents? Isn't he British? I was thinking that when he said that. That's true. He did say. Why would he want Michael Phelps to swim and win gold medals for the United States? That is another excellent point. I didn't even think of that. Maybe that's a thing they do over there. All the British people, all the presidents over there, they just choke up a bong every now and then. That may be. That happens. Maybe. Hey, dude, thanks for the call. I appreciate it, man. Yeah. So there is a big band. A big band.
That is getting back together. A very big band. So I'm going to tell you who the big band is. And also. I kind of wanted to ask you about this. Everybody listening. 570-1053 is the phone number. I kind of want to ask you about this. Is there stuff. At home. At your work. That you put off. forever. Ashley has the filthiest story when we come back. The filthiest story of what she puts on. Thank you, man. We appreciate it. Thank you very much. Let's see. A leather messenger bag, poetry book, beret. Hey, Paul, have you seen my aromatherapy candle? Dude. What?
I want a cappuccino and I need to fit in at the coffee house. Just go to McDonald's, bro. No, I said cappuccino. They have new McCafe coffees. Hot or cold lattes, mochas, and cappuccinos made to order from fresh ground espresso beans. Now, Coffeehouse coffee is at a McDonald's price. Valentine's Day is this Saturday. What's that in the background going to be? It's like... Oh, there it was, whatever that was. That's coming from our phone. But all the phone lines are off? How weird is that? This...
This place is... Oh, and now the light just went off. I have no idea what that is. Hey, Ash, can you call Fu and have him come in and look at this right now? Because we can't take phone calls if that's what it sounds like when the phone line's on. I mean, are you kidding me? It's a song, though. Dude, go ahead. Okay. All right. Well, Valentine's Day is this Saturday. And every year for Valentine's Day, I always request a pajamagram. And normally I pick it out myself. But this year, don't laugh at me. It's true. I always just go, this is the one I want. Here we go. But this year, the boo, my husband, wanted to have a little input. So we went on the site together over the weekend, pajamagram.com, and had different ideas about what I would like this year for Valentine's Day. So we came to a compromise. And I will now reveal to everyone. I want to know.

That is the one that the boo and I chose. I don't like that it's called gown. It was a compromise. Wait, wait. It was a compromise. All we do is go to pajamagram.com and do we search it? How do we do this? Yeah, I think you can search it or just type in Midnight Fantasy Gown. No, it's called the Midnight Sexy Mink. No, it's called the Midnight Fantasy Gown. It's called the Wild Passion of Sex. I'm giving a lot revealing this. It was a compromise between the real comfy stuff that they have that I wanted and the super, super sexy stuff that the boo wanted. So check it out. A pajamagram is a perfect Valentine's gift. Best of all, she's going to think of you every time she puts them on overnight. I'm embarrassed. And Valentine's Day delivery, I guarantee it's a gift you're both going to love. Threaded seats are still just in. To witness the raging battle between Superstar Shadley and James Stewart. Get your tickets now at Ticketmaster. What is your name, please? This is Jesse. Jesse. I have an AIS story. Okay, so my little brother and my mom are on insurance together, and he's 17, so of course he's already expensive. Well, him and his little tiny Nissan Sentra, it got totaled against hitting an expensive... And so, therefore, her insurance shocked this guy. And she got prorated and it, like, tripled her insurance and everything. So, she was tripping out and she wanted to just cut him off and not let him drive. So, I told her to call EAS because, like, I always hear about them. I'm like, they could probably help you. She called. It's a $2,700 cut. Like, they're like, yeah, we understand 17-year-olds. They, like, don't pay attention on the road. Yeah. So, she was, like, $2,700 a year cut off her insurance.
I'm on AIS insurance and they didn't know who I was. In fact, AIS made me call them without them knowing who I was. And I saved $1,600 a year by switching to AIS. So if you're listening right now and you have auto insurance and all of you do, I'm telling you, you're crazy if you don't switch to AIS because they'll save you money. Jessie, thank you for calling. No problem. Have a good day. All right, you too. 1-800-777-4247. Or try their website. Walk in or call 1-800-HR-BLOCK today. Now, back to Mikey. I text a lot, but I'm the farthest thing from him. Eddie. I gotta tell you, like, the older I get, the more and more I become into, like, history stuff. Sky. Um, you know, your friend's a little sensitive and isn't a big fan of violence. Austin Rob. I watch a lot of Food Network lately, and it's mostly because of you. And Ashley. I love my bangs, and they grow out so freaking fast. Same backflip.
I know. Save that clip. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Wait till you hear what Ashley puts off. It's coming up here in just a second. But first, Sky, what was the band that last night at the Grammys announced that they are going to be getting back together? Lemon Drops and Sandals, ladies and gentlemen. Dog Day afternoon. Let's hear it. It's a dog day. Oh. Sing it, Mike. Okay. Dog Day Afternoon. Pim 5 getting back? Ah, yeah. It's a breakdance troupe that you were in when you were a sophomore. It's not a troupe, Mike. It's a troupe. Sorry. Our bad. Please let it be Commodores.
So it was rumored that this announcement may be made once it was announced that these guys were going to be presenting an award together. And they came out and very unenthusiastically announced that they would be getting back together and doing an album and touring. And that band is Blink-182. Is this Blink-182? Okay. It's Green Day. Yeah, it's Green Day, right? Yeah, right? Smash and Pumpkins? Sure sounds like it. Smash and Pumpkins? Yeah. It's Black Crow. So Blink-182, San Diego's very own Blink-182, is getting back together. And, yeah, from Poway. Really? And, Skye, it was pretty, it was a little bit unenthusiastic. Well, there's three of them. The mic's right in the middle. And, you know, I don't know if it's a guy thing or what, but, like, they weren't standing very close. So when they would, like, lean into top. I got to tell you, I was tripped out immediately because Travis Barker was, his whole arm was in a sling. Really? And I'm like, still? Really? You're still jacked up? No, that has nothing to do with the fire. Oh, really? The sling is, like, a new thing. So I don't know if he had a surgery or if he had an accident, but he hasn't yet addressed that. I just assumed that it was, like, fire stuff. Just, like, some bad luck, I think. Let's listen.
Isn't it great to see the Jonas Brothers and Stevie Wonder back together again? We used to play music together, and we decided we're going to play music together again. Oh, wow. Just get to it. I guess they're just blurted out there. What does that mean? Tonight? You're going to record the album tonight? What's going on? Thank you. Nobody cares. You guys were broken up? What do you mean? Who is that? Boy, I missed you guys. So there it is. Blink-182 says that they're going to get back together. What about Limp Bizkit? Okay, so this came up, and I want to hear from people. As you hear this, I want to hear from you at 570-1053, but this came up because Ashley revealed to us that there's something that she puts off for a while. Right, Ash? Yeah. Well, big time did. Big time. Like, more than I, like, ever have before. You're like a bum. Okay. I'm sorry. It's my hurt. Wait. Ash. Yes? What do you put off? Taking out the trash. I don't understand how you can do that. What? I hate it. I hate it. So explain. Like, most of us take out the trash every day. Right.
because it starts to sink. Yeah, it stinks. Once it gets to the top, you have to. And it's full, yeah. Eventually, though, it'll rot to the point where it doesn't smell anymore. Well, it decomposes. Yeah, you know, it becomes compost. I, last week, literally put it off as long as I possibly could. Which means what? Walk us through it. It was toppled over because the trash is underneath my sink. So if you were to open this sink cabinet, you would see it toppled over to the point where there's just like... plastic and wrappers like all around the trash can underneath my sink. You can't recycle plastic wrappers. So you do recycle? Oh, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, no, I don't, but it's beside the point. And that's the best part too, Mike, because I definitely recycle for sure, but I don't have like a recycling bin in my house, so I recycle on my counter. Counter space. So there was an entire side of my counter that just had like milk cartons, pizza containers, you know, cans, whatever. And then my trash can toppling over. How do you not have roaches? You know? How does she not? She probably does. Sammy is on guard with the roaches. I've never had a problem with the roaches. But I knew it was getting bad last week, Mike, when the fruit fight.
The fruit flies. The fruit flies. Fruit flies. Started coming around. Hey. Richard Simmons. Yes. You know? What's up? We're back. Time to clean up. Oh, my God. And then I still didn't. She leaves that garbage until the fruit flies show up. Why? How long are we talking, Ash? How many days did you go? I probably waited a good, like, two weeks to take the trash. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. So you have the option to take it out whenever, though, because, like, I know if I don't... you know bring it on like tuesday night or something then you know if i don't bring it out then it just stays there so i'm stuck with this trash can and i have to pile up trash no you live in a like a complex where you have like a dumpster the dumpster oh my so it's like all in my own and how far is the dumpster from your unit no that right there well it's not it You walk down the hall, and you walk outside, and you go up a couple steps, and you unlock the gate, and then there's the dumpster. Oh, absolutely. It's kind of right there. It's kind of right there. So you're, like, one of the closest people to it. Kind. I mean, it's not. It's kind of right there. It's basically right there. Eddie, you put anything off? Yeah, I do. I hate to put things together.
I hate assembling things. I'm the worst at it. It drives me nuts. Because I'm terrible at it. I put things together, and then I'll realize I put it backwards, and I have to take it all apart, and then put it back together. Well, for Christmas, I got this sweet pinball machine that my wife got me. I had to attach the legs and the back of it and put it all together, and I haven't done it. And I want to play it, but I just haven't put it together. I finally put it together this weekend. How's it work? It's awesome. Really? So it's killer. So you did a good job? Yeah. See, I hire Rob. Yeah, he's good at it. I hire Rob to come and fix that. I can't understand. I hate it. When I buy something, like, I got a couple cabinets from, like, Target someplace a while back when I moved out here. And they're the, you know, buy it in a box, assemble it yourself. And I have, like, I love putting that stuff together. It's the worst. I love it. I'm terrible at it. I hate it. Rob, what do you enjoy? What part of it do you enjoy? Just the... building ass like I really do and it sucks because my car got robbed so all my tools I was moving and I had all my tools in it and they stole all my tools you got robbed you know what I mean but uh you know I used to have a pretty solid collection of tools and now it's kind of dwindled down and I'm building it back up but anything that I can put together or take a trip please come over and help me I want our crib for our baby this weekend
And you have to assemble it. It's like a thousand pieces. And I'm like, no way. Dude, we found a place that they deliver it and then they build it. You know, because art, forget. Yeah, my baby's going to sleep on like a sleeping bag or like a manger. Yes. I'm not putting that thing together. I just don't know how I could do it. You're helping me. 570. I love it. 570-1053. Well, first, Renegade wants to make a comment about finding out that Ashley puts the garbage off. Oh, and he's gone. The only thing I put off is air filters. Those things stay up there forever. I really hate those. I hate them. You really don't like air filters. I really hate air filters and having to change air filters. That's so weird. And I want them changed, you know? Yeah. P1 Spaz, you there? Good morning. Your mom puts off what? We just took her to the dentist in December. And she had, her breath was real bad. And so we're like, well, something's wrong. She hasn't got, I know, she hasn't gone to the dentist for a while. Gross. No big deal. A couple cavities, right? We go, and first off, one rotten tooth had to be pulled. Second, seven fillings. Oh, my gosh. Three root canals. Fourth, three crowns. Poor thing. Yeah, the other day we were watching, I don't know, we were watching something and she started, it was something sad. And she goes, you know what? And I said, what, mom? She goes,
I really miss my tooth. Oh. It's an odd thing to miss. It is. Hey, Spaz, thanks a lot. This next one. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. With this next one. Okay, Wayne, are you there? Oh, yeah, I'm here. Your wife. My wife. She puts off the cat box. Oh. You cannot do that. Don't put that off. It's like, I walk in the house, it smells like cat urine. It's like the cat goes anywhere but the box. That's so gross. Okay, I need specifics. How many cats do you have? One cat. And how long will she put it off? Up to three weeks. No, no, no. You need to change that every day. Every day? Every day. How come you don't do it? I'm not talking about just changing. That's a great quote. It takes at least a week or two for her to scoop the cat. And he has That's a great point. Why don't you do it? That's an easy answer. I have a bad back and I can't stand the smell. If I smell it, I puke. Thank you. I've always been that way. So take that. Oh, wow. That is so gross. That is whack. Yeah, please beg her to stop putting that off. Oh, I've tried. I've tried. What does she say? What does she say when you say to her? What does she say?
Honestly, she says, I'll do it, I'll do it, and it doesn't get done. Really, honestly, what I do is the cat's box is in the bathroom, and it's covered and everything, but it still stinks. Oh, yeah, it does. I mean, I got, like, stick-ups inside there. And boom goes a dime. I'll tell her to do it, I'll tell her to do it, she won't do it. Finally, I put it in front of the bedroom door. I work overnight, so I'll come in in the morning to go to the bathroom, and if it stinks, I'll put it in front of the bedroom door so she can't even walk out the door without stepping on it. Nice. Nice. I'll hide in the bathroom until she cleans it. Yeah, the next step is to shove her in the bathroom with it and lock her in there. Just lock her in there. Dude, you got to rub her nose in it. Yeah, that's what they say. That's what they say. And the newspaper. No, that's different. Spray bottle. Spray bottle works really good, too. That's for dogs. You know, you just put some vinaigrette. But you're supposed to, now, what is usually really in question is whether or not you say bad girl when you do it. Well, it depends if it's sexy or not. P1 Archangel. Archangel. What's up? Not so much, Mikey. How you guys doing? Long time listener, first time caller. Right on. I got something I put off so bad. I'm a contractor for the DOD. Right. And I train the special forces guys of all different branches.
And I got these pants. They're called BBUs. Basic dress uniform. Right. And I get party boy juice, you know, because we're sweating, running around in the dirt. Oh, okay. Party boy juice. Party boy juice made me almost throw up a little bit right there. Okay. I let them sit. I just got home from work about two weeks ago. I've had them piled up for about three, four weeks since I left before. In my garage, man. Bro, what are you thinking? It's that lazy, man. When I get home, relax, calm down. But do you wear them again? No, I wash them before I wear them, but I mean, I got to go back to work tomorrow, and I got to wash them today. Get that party boy juice out of time. Get it out, dude. I got something like that. When I go to boxing, you use these things called wraps, you know, and they're like cloth. Yeah, it's a tortilla. No, it really is. Everybody calls it a wrap. Yeah, it's kind of like a burrito, but it's like a fancy color. Yeah, exactly. Avocado. Makes you think it's hot. You can put anything in it, really. That's not it. Ranch dressing. I'm going to talk about it. Sometimes I make them like green, like spinach. So talk to me. Not that kind of wrap. So what is your wrap? It's like just a long piece of cloth that you can, you know, it's real thin, long.
And you wrap your knuckles with it. And that doesn't sound yummy. And you're wearing these in your boxing gloves while you're working out. So you can imagine all the sweat that gathers into them. And I have three pairs that I usually rotate to kind of help me with this because I refuse. I don't know. Well, I know why I refuse to wash them. When you wash them, they're like, I don't know, like 13 to 15 feet long. So when you wash them, they get wrapped in everything, and then they knot in themselves. And, like, when they go in the dryer, it's so annoying. But you can't put them in something. Put them in something? Yeah. What do you mean? Well, you know how they have, like, they sell, like, special, like, mesh cloth things that you can put, like, bras and things like that. And pantyhose and stuff in. And put them in that. For that exact reason. Oh, Rob has a look on his face right now, like, really? Do I look like a Bill Pullman guy? More like Bill Paxton. Yeah. I get them confused. I do too. So, so what happens? I'll let these things go. I, I recently washed them. I mean, this is the alternative. I wish I could bring, I'm going to, I'm bringing them. No, you're not. Let's make soup. No, I would rather you don't. They smell like, like pure, I don't even, it's like pure vinegar. Disgusting. No. It's like a vinegar sweat kind of.
It's horrible. Shut up. It's horrible. And when you're doing like jumping jacks or something in class, they just walk things like everyone. I have a question. I can't wait until they get gross and bring them in. Eddie, isn't it just gauze? No? I don't know. No, no, no. It's a cloth that you buy. They kind of remind me almost like of an ace bandage in a way, like a thinner one, right? Where do you buy said cloth? And they're called, when you buy them, are they called wraps? Boxing town? Boxing wraps? Yeah, you ever been? Little guy store. Boxing world. Boxing. They're just called boxing wraps. And they're coming like three packs and one pack, but they're like a good solid cloth. I can show you. I'm guessing that these things are meant to be washed, right? Oh, yeah. Of course. Sarissa keeps telling me to put them in the sink when I'm done and then just put them on the counter and just let them dry out. Why don't you just wash them? Because it's... It's so much work for me. I hear you, bro. It's so much work. To do laundry, you mean? To do the laundry? No, no, no. I do laundry. I just never, and they're always in my car. Why don't you just put them in your pocket of, like, your jeans? You know how bad my jeans is? No, they're getting washed. They'll get cleaned in your jeans. And that way they don't get wrapped up in everything. Because then in the dryer they would get, they would stay damp.
Eddie, I'm trying to figure out what part he believes is a lot of work. There's a lot of solutions to this and he's not accepting of any of this. You have to put this off. Because they're so long. They wrap around other clothes and get knotted up. When you put them in the dryer, that's when they tend to knot with themselves. So you get like 30 little knots in these things and it's a hassle to sit there for 20 minutes undoing knots. I got the solution. Woolite. What is that? What do you mean? Woolite is... Ash, do you know what Woolite is? I've heard of Woolite. Yeah, Woolite is a cool liquid product. It's like gentle... Yeah, you take your sink and you just put cold or whatever water in there and then you drop a little Woolite in there and it's an alternative. Oh my God. I'm not going to do that. I ain't going... I'm not a homosexual here, Mike. I don't know. I don't know what you think is going on. One time I walked in on him naked. Mikey. And his thing is so small. With apparently not much to offer. It would be a shuffle. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. You said you were taking me out for a steak dinner. Uh, this is steak. From Carl's Jr. Yeah, it's a sirloin steak sandwich. I thought we were going out to a fancy restaurant. Well, I could take you to an expensive steakhouse. But do you know what that would say about a relationship?
It would say that we don't have confidence in our feelings for each other. I hope you don't think I'm stupid enough to buy it. That was worth a shot, right? Right. You want to pass me over my soda? Here you go. The Charbroiled Steak Sandwich, new at Carl's Jr. for limited time participating restaurants. Valentine's Day this Saturday. If this is about tickets to the policeman's ball, I... The point is that enchiladas usually take forever. And yet you're ready so quick. I'd say there was speeding involved. Well... There's certainly no law against getting your enchiladas faster. Not to mention, I don't even drive... Tell it to the judge. Say some enchiladas just happened to find their way into your squad cart. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, traffic is a mess on our freeways right now. We had that storm come in here like a lion and just dumped on us big time. And it's still coming down. Very heavy in all parts of the county. Just wreaking havoc with our roadways. So give yourself plenty of extra time and slow down out there. Solid brake lights out of the South Bay on both the 5 and the 805 northbound. Heavy out of Chula Vista into the city. The 5 stays slow through downtown past the airport into Mission Bay. The 805 solid all the way up into the Golden Triangle.
East County here, westbound 8, you're going to find it slowing from Lake Jennings Park Road. That slowdown stays with you all the way into Hotel Circle, believe it or not. It is just a mess. South 15, same situation here from El Norte Parkway through Escondido Ranch, Bernardo, Pauly, Skips Ranch, and through Murphy Canyon down to Friars Road. A bad injury crash adding to that heavy traffic there. And the coastal ride, south on 75, it slows to go from Oceanside all the way down to Del Mar. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 1053. It's pretty good. Yeah. Real good. Fresh. Sweet. KC. San Diego's rock. Mikey's show continues. Featuring Mikey. I love documenting. Eddie. I like to do what I like to do. I don't care really how I look anymore. So if you love that feature that we do on the 28-hour show, now you can get it. on a very regular basis on our website. We've done one, and it's myself, and it's me and Eddie and Rob, and we're just sitting there in front of Rob's computer with a microphone. Which is ridiculous. Oh, it's awesome. And we're just goofing on the movie. Which we've never watched. Never. It's the first time we're viewing it. And so if you are interested, it's so good. It's so good. Let's see here. Okay, Skye, tell us about Metallica because apparently they won a Grammy, right? Really? Yeah, which is shocking because, you know, normally rock is kind of underrepresented. Like, you know, like in the rock category, you'll find people like John Mayer or Coldplay. Like, that's what they consider rock, you know. But for best metal performance. Metal. Because that's a very relevant term. Oh, yeah. Metallica won for My Apocalypse.
And, um, yeah. What? My Apocalypse? Oh, yeah. Didn't they, uh, no, that wasn't the first one, was it? I think it was the second single off the new album. Let's take a listen. Okay. This is My Apocalypse. Yeah, crank that stuff, man. Crank that stuff. How did he even get on the line? Yeah. Come on, turn that stuff up louder, man. Lars. Lars, it was weird, because only... Only Robert Trujillo, your bassist, was there to accept the award. He was the only band member there last night. Yeah, that's right, because we were going on nationality and Mexican got picked. Oh, really? But isn't he, like, Native American or something? Whatever, man. For real? Well, congratulations. I've been bringing that guy Manuvo every morning, man. Well, yeah, congrats. That's, you know. Oh, congrats to you, too. We didn't win a Grammy.
Hey, did you guys see that Coldplay won Best Rock Album? Yeah, what's up with that, Lars? They're about as rock as my favorite Norwegian band, Leather Mustard. Wait. You know what I mean? No, but you like some weird bands, man. You don't have the new Leather Mustard, Tinkle? I've never even heard of what Leather Mustard. It's called Rock My Sandwich. Is that right? That's really weird. That's weird. Hey, I have to tell you guys, I was kind of bummed that I didn't win in I don't think that's a category, Lars. I was working really hard to win this year, you know? We know. Trust me, we know. You guys think maybe I should step up my appearances on your show? No. You're on every day. Come on, maybe we can do this a day. No, you're oversaturating the market, Lars. I'm out on the Grammys, you guys. Why? What? Because I was asked to be a Grammy on the Grammy committee this year, you know? Oh, wow. And since rock is kind of underrepresented at the Grammys, they wanted some, like, you know, cool rock ideas. Oh, wow. So I suggested that this year I whittle all the awards out of wood. Okay. Like my shoes. Yeah. That's cool. Because my shoes are made of wood. Listen. That's great. That's my shoes.
You guys, I had this other idea that got totally rejected. What happened? I thought it was going to be cool if we would reshoot all the Song of the Year videos using marionettes. Oh, that is cool. And I even offered to whittle all the marionettes myself. And I just finished doing the guys from Coldplay. When they called me, they were like, no, Lars. Oh. All that work for nothing. We're going to go in another direction. That's weak, bro. You know what, man? I want to tell you guys about those Grammy parties. Oh, really? Give you a little behind the scenes. My favorite thing about the Grammys is the parties. And last night I was at one that I probably shouldn't even talk about. Oh, come on, Lars. But it was so awesome, I'm going to tell you guys. Sweet. I was at Stephen Ball tonight. That's not that. I thought it was going to be a big celebrity. No, man. That's as big as it gets. No. Dude. I'm kind of embarrassed aiming at his dog with my shirt off because I had one too many vodka and milk. Vodka and milk? Oh, it's yummy, dude. Yuck. It's yummy in my tummy. That's disgusting.
Hey, you guys know that I have strange taste in music, like, you know, Leather Mustard. You know, I'm into them. Yeah. And Deep Purple. You guys know how I used to be really into Oasis, right? Oh, I didn't know that. And everybody thought it was weird that I was into Oasis because they're kind of like British Eurofam, you know? Right, right. Well, I'm done with them, man, because I was at the Grammys last night, and I'm full-on Jonas Brothers now. No, no, no. Come on. Serious, man. How great are they? I'm going to call Nick Jonas today. I'm going to hit him up on his celly, dude. What? And I'm going to ask him if he wants to come party with me in Amsterdam. No, you'll kill him. He's not even 21. Eddie, I don't want this to get out to too many people because I don't want them to try to buy it. But the reason for them is I found this painting of a paperclip stuck in a vintage bottle of Dr. Pepper. Valentine's Day is Saturday. Saturday.

You were not listening earlier and you haven't heard this. Skye, update us on what happened with Chris Brown. Well, Chris Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna Saturday night went to Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party. And both of them were scheduled to perform at the Grammys on Sunday. Well, I guess some stuff went down on Saturday night after that party. According to police, they left the party at the Beverly Hills Hilton. And about five miles away from that location, right after they left, Chris Brown and a woman became involved in an argument, stopped the car, got out of the car. The argument escalated. The woman suffered visible injuries and called the police and wanted charges pressed against Chris Brown. So, you know, it's safe to make that leap to say that woman was most likely Rihanna. And it just happened last night. Yesterday? That he turned himself into the police, yeah. So he posted a $50,000 bond and was released. He was charged with felony, battery, and also making criminal threats. Making criminal threats is the bigger charge, who knew, with nine years maximum penalty, nine years in jail.
So that's what they're going to go after him for. He was bailed out by his attorney, Mark Garagos. Oh, boy. How does he get a hold of him that quickly? Who did what? Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson. Every time. And by the way, for those of you, so that there is no confusion, Chris Brown is neither the pastor at North Coast Church and Vista nor the running back from the Tennessee Titans. Because I know that there was confusion both ways and just wanted to let you know. Isn't he kind of like a clean-cut guy? Is this kind of like a surprise, Ashley? Absolutely. Is he pretty clean-cut? Is this the guy that kind of sounds... No. I was going to say... Is this a guy that kind of sounds like Michael Jackson? No? He does a style like Michael Jackson? He dances like Michael Jackson. Yeah. He's a real good dancer. Yeah. Well, it was kind of... Chews gum really good. Yeah, that's what I heard. That's what I heard. Well, what's weird about this is about a year ago, he did an interview where he revealed that his stepfather would physically abuse his mother and how he lived in fear as a child that his mom would always get hurt. And now this is happening. Oh, that's too bad. Very bad.
Anybody watch the 48 Hours Mystery that we... I did. I did. Sky, you saw it? Yeah. You saw it? Eddie. Dude, I'm so mad. Oh, no. I wake up Sunday morning, and my first thought was, son of a... Oh, dude. And I don't know what's the matter with me, because during the day, I was like, oh, I can't wait to watch this, and I should set my DVR, and blah, blah, blah, and I just spaced it. I started watching Alien vs. Predator. Okay. We talked to Richard Schlesinger, who was the correspondent for the story that happened right here in our own backyard. It was the story of Todd Silmer. And he was the Marine that died of cardiac arrhythmia. And then they later determined that he was poisoned with arsenic, suspected his wife, tried his wife, convicted his wife, and then she was let go on a technicality and is now living in Michigan. And so it was a little bit... They're producing the show a little differently. Oh, really? Yeah. It was a little different when I watched it. I thought it was good. Did you like it, Sky? Yeah, you know, and there were some crazy things that I don't... Because we followed the case here on the show, and there were some crazy things that they were talking about that we never heard.
Some of the things that I thought were really bad, I mean, there was a lot of bad stuff, the boob job, the partying, instant sex after his death with other people, her concern about the money, all these things were horrible. But one of the things that I thought was very telling was the fact when she called 911, she was on her portable phone. Her mobile. No, no, no, a cordless. A cordless phone in the house. And was asked if she was doing CPR. And she said she was doing CPR. And then when she was on the stand, they were like, well, were you wearing some sort of headset? Or, you know, how were you holding the phone and doing CPR? And then she goes into the, oh, I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember how I did it. She said, I could have put it on speaker. I don't remember. And then. in shock right or something like that that's why she couldn't remember you know what i thought was really interesting during the story and there was much conversation about between rebecca and i about it was when she the talk came up about her computer yes that was another thing i didn't know oh because one thing that we talked about that that my wife and i talked about a lot was if she did do it where did she get arsenic right
Where does one get arsenic? Now, they said on the report that you can easily go online and you can find it, right? Well, so the first question that you would have is, well, did they get her computer? Yeah, check it out. Well, what you have to remember is that when it very first happened, it wasn't considered a homicide when it very first happened. So it wasn't like they were going in and confiscating items. Because it was like three years by the time they started actually investigating it as a homicide, like three years after his death. Well, very soon after his death, her and the kids moved to Florida. And so what happens when they start to investigate is they say, we need to see your computer. And by the way, is this computer the same computer that you had during the time of his death? And she says, yes. Well, they get the computer and then they go back and they're looking at pictures that they took the night that he died. And they're like, wait. This is a different computer than the one you had back then. And she's like, oh, yeah, yeah. And they say, where's that computer? And she says, I don't remember. And when she says, like, I was, because I watch this show in history all about people that read expressions and facial expressions. That's fascinating.
I wish they had, I don't know what they're called. Tim Roth. Lyologist? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's called Lyologist. Yeah, that's a documentary. That thing with Dr. Timothy Roth, I believe is his name. He knows. Her eyes and just every little movement she makes is so telling and revealing. Professionals say that when a person is telling the truth, their eyes will shift to the right. The reason is because of the part of your brain that you're... using to say whatever it is you're saying. If somebody's eyes shift to the left, it's usually indicative, but not always, but usually indicative of somebody not telling the truth because the part of the brain that controls creativity does that. And so it was interesting because as we were watching the show, I would say to my wife, look at his eyes, look at his eyes, look at her eyes, look at her eyes. Fascinating show. But they ask her, they say, you know, Richard Schlesinger, the guy that we talked to, he asks her, he says, You, what do you mean that you don't remember what happened to the computer? Right. And she says, you know, I don't know. It's like, you know, sometimes you just, anything can happen to it. In moving. She was saying, in moving. You just, it just disappeared in the mix. You lose computers. And I'm like, that's a tough thing to lose in a move. That's so stupid. A photo, like maybe like a book or something. Dude, exactly. And Rebecca said, Rebecca said, hey, listen.
If you get to your new location that you move from and you realize no computer and you have to go out and spend thousands of dollars on a new computer and the police say to you, is this the same computer you've had forever and when he died? Wouldn't you go, no, actually it isn't. I'll tell you why. Because I even had to buy this one because I lost my old one. Of course. Of course. Who loses a computer? Yeah. Come on. So, really fascinating deal. That sucks. Rob saw Slumdog Millionaire and Gran Torino. Really? How was it? Awesome. Thanks for asking, Eddie. Was it good? Dude, I went into watching both of these movies telling myself and telling everyone around me that if, you know, if I just kind of get up and go and do my own thing, Just continue the, you know, like, don't pause it. I'm not taking a break. I'm not doing it. Meaning what? That you figured you were going to get bored and walk out? I honestly thought going into Gran Torino, it was going to be overacting. And I was going to kind of think the concept was dumb. Going into Slumdog Millionaire, I thought that it was a love story. And I was, you know, going to kind of be like, all right, five minutes of this. I get the point. It's over. Dude, I loved both of those movies. Really? Loved. Gran Torino and? Yeah, completely.
Clint Eastwood is just amazing in Gran Torino. The way he talks in the beginning, it's a little Batman-ish. You know, he's very like this. And it was a little much to take in, but kind of like, you know, halfway into the movie, you're already used to it and you're not noticing it as much. A friend of mine said they were pretty surprised at how gnarly he gets with the racist remarks. Oh, that's crazy. Really? Oh, yeah. But the message of the story, which me and Eddie were kind of just discussing, was awesome. The movie's made for people who are, like, sick of the PC world we live in now. And so, you know, he's the furthest thing from being PC. Yeah. You know, and he's fed up with how, like, you know, the world is right now. Sky, you would not like this. It's not sounding like I would, no. You would not like this. Powerful, though, man. It's real powerful. Powerful. Powerful. You think it'll win in I don't think Gran Torino got nominated for much. Slumdog Millionaire is nominated for Best Picture. And I heard that the chick in that movie got nominated for something where she has, like, three lines. And I'm like, how are you getting, like, I get it, like, you're beautiful, but come on, man. The beginning of that movie, I just gotta say, there is some of the funniest stuff I've seen in a long time. Slumdog? Yeah. Like, there's just parts, because it...
Follows the kids growing up. And when they're little kids, it's like, you know, the little rascals gone wild. Right. So it was just, and it like genuine laugh out loud stuff. That's cool. It was awesome. Speaking of movies, Ashley and the Loco get together to watch The Thing. Oh, that's right. And she pulls a Rebecca. What? She falls asleep halfway through. I know. Eddie, dude, I don't know. How? How did you fall asleep? That thing kept me on the edge of my seat. Fantastic. Even if I watched it now. John Carpenter, it's a horror movie. Dude. Is it old school or? It's from like the early 80s. Early 80s. Still plays well. Kurt Russell, dude, it's awesome. Fantastic. Oh, Ash, how did you fall asleep during that thing, man? It's very slow moving. Oh, son of a... How dare you? Oh, here, here, here. I'm in Antarctica. It's cold. Oh. Here comes this little alien thing everyone's all... And then they're just like walking around doing nothing and then... And then walking around doing nothing. Is she crazy? There's like barely any talking even going on. I mean, is she out of her mind? That movie is fantastic. The thing, the special effects... I couldn't even follow it. I couldn't even follow it. It was so confusing. Well, it's... It's so hard to follow. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a... They're in the ice and a monster shows up and they're trying to get away from it. Ash, did you stay awake?
Till they did the test on the blood. Are you kidding? I fell asleep right after, like, one of the humans got taken over by whatever the thing was. How did you fall asleep? Oh, Eddie's doing the scene. He's putting his hand in the beaker. I'm going to have to see this now. So good. Rob, you've never seen the thing? I don't even know what it is. You haven't either, Scott? That doesn't surprise me, but. Let's have a thing party. Rob, Rob, you gotta watch it. It is awesome. I'm telling you, dude, it's an awesome movie. Well, that's what I heard. Mike, I got it with my new Netflix subscription because you had raved about how great it is. All of you had. Eddie and Mike had. She keeps calling it Nutflix. Yeah, there is no Nutflix. So that's why I put it on my queue and I got it. Does anyone want any nut flex? No, thank you. Seconds, please.

If you are even thinking about a new car, you owe it to yourself to go down to BMW Encinitas. And the reason is because it's a buyer's market. Because we're in the kind of economy that we're in right now, they're making deals at BMW Encinitas.
Not to mention, they have a car that you probably haven't even heard about at BMW called the One Series, which is an introductory BMW. It's not the ones that are up there in the $50,000, $60,000, $70,000, $80,000 range. They're just not. Now, in terms of 08s, they only have 32 left. And that's when this email was written, which was over the weekend. 32 08s remaining. And so if you want to get in on it, get down to BMW Encinitas as soon as you can. And listen to this. This is actual comments that real BMW Encinitas customers wrote. We were there at dinnertime, so they drove us to dinner while we waited for the repairs to be made. Very accommodating. They also provided hot cocoa on a cold day.
We were originally scheduled to leave the car overnight, but they were able to work on it while we waited. It was very convenient. I can tell you that BMW Encinitas is the best BMW dealership in San Diego County, bar none. Back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. My right arm is almost completely asleep. Eddie. That's coming up here in just a second. Boston Rob really, really gets excited when he hears counting crows. Is that true? Yeah. That is true. So, Sky. Yeah. Tell us about the guy in Florida that called 911 to complain about Burger King. What? Finally. What? Somebody needed to do that. Eddie, you wrote a letter. I needed to do that, Mike. Yes, yes. But Eddie showed discernment. Yes, I chose to go the letter route, yeah. Okay, well, this is different, Eddie. I can tell that story if you need it, too. This isn't your cheese complaint. Don't say that with a grin. It's a serious subject.
Your 10-cent cheese discrepancy. This isn't that. Why are you acting like that? Eddie, before she gets to this, hang on. If you've never heard this story, get ready to be pissed off. That's true. I'm telling you, I've known Eddie for years. But you were with me. I know. I said then, I say now. Jerks, huh? No, Eddie. I agree with you, Mike. Here's the story. I believe that Eddie may have overreacted. No, you don't. You don't mean that. What? When you get to the crux of the story, you'll be with me. I'm sure. Eddie, you wrote a complaint letter to Burger King. And they laughed it off, those jerks. Here's what happened. We went to Burger King, me and Mike and your brother Steve. It was very young. I think I was like 18, 19 years old. And I'm getting ready to order my hamburger, and I look up at the menu, and for a regular hamburger, it was like 59 cents. For a cheeseburger, it was 69 cents, okay? That's 10 cents for cheese. 10 cents. Reasonable. Okay. I look over, and the Whopper was 99 cents. Right. And a Whopper with cheese.
was $1.29. Now that's $0.30 for cheese. Wait a second. So I don't understand. Did they use special Whopper cheese? Was there a different kind of cheese? So I asked to speak to the manager. I'm like, let me get to the bottom of this. And he said, no, we use the same cheese for the hamburger that we do for the Whopper. And I said, well, why is there a difference in price? Why is $1.10? And why is the other one 30 cents? That's right. It doesn't make any sense to me. Please explain. It's a scene. It's a scene. He had no answer for me. Right. And I think 30 cents for cheese is outrageous. I could buy a pack of cheese for 30 cents. What is this, Russia? Yeah. What is this, Russia? Am I standing in line for cheese? Yeah. Come on. Come on, guys. What am I, ratatouille? So what did you do? I tried to, you know, protest and said, Give me, I want the Whopper with cheese, but give me the 10 cent cheese on the Whopper instead of, you know, give me the hamburger cheese on the Whopper. This is a true story. Yeah, this is a true story. Well, Mike was there. I was watching this happen. You must have been so embarrassed. Oh, Sky, it was so embarrassing. Don't act like that. You were right behind me like a good friend. I was terrified. You were very good. I was terrified. So me and the manager get into it and blah, blah, blah. Did you try and offer Eddie like the 20 cent difference? Oh, yeah. I didn't want it. I didn't want it. I didn't want it. I said to him.
I said to him, dude, I'll give you the 20 cents. No, I don't accept. It's the principle, Eddie. I gotcha. So the manager's not being very helpful. He gives me some number to call. Right. And I'm like, oh, great. Yeah, whatever. So I walked out. I didn't even get any food. Oh, wow. And so I went home. I called the number. And it's like a complaint line. And it gives like an address you can write in. And so I took the address down. I wrote out a form letter, a whole letter, with my complaints. That's very professional. Exactly what the problem is. For computers, man. It's probably on a tablet. It wasn't before computers. I didn't know. Now we're fighting. I'm not that old. Okay. So, a month goes by and in the mail, I received something from Burger King headquarters. And I got a call. Furious call. I called this guy. I said, Mike, get over here, dude. I got something back from Burger King. So he rushes over because we didn't really have much going on at the time. That's very true. Very true.
I open it up, and it's like a form letter. It states, you know, thank you for your complaint, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, right here, here, here. And in it, there was two coupons for Whoppers without cheese. Oh, my gosh. I put those stupid coupons back in the mail with a letter that said, you didn't listen to my complaint. I would have rather had coupons for cheese, which would have meant that you listened to my complaint. But they probably don't. eat at your restaurant. They probably don't make coupons for just cheese. Like a cheese upgrade coupon. I am not to be made a fool of. I boycotted Burger King for 10 years. It's a true story. And a man in my position can't afford to be made to look ridiculous. And what is this? This doesn't even have cheese on it. Which is the whole point of my complaint. That's right.
Sitting up there on your throne of cheese. Dude, me and Eddie hung out together every single day. We couldn't go back to Burger King. He wanted to go. I'd be like, no, we're going to Wendy's, bro. He wouldn't do it. He boycotted that restaurant for years. He boycotted. I ain't having it. I'm not going back. What? He was so angry. Burger King. I wish I could. I should have called 911. Yes, dude. I would say to him, I would go, dude, come on. Seriously? He'd offer to buy. I'm embarrassed to know you. It's over. What? I'm just saying. What? You don't have blacked out stuff? Not like that. Your mom's afraid of like silent cars, okay? It's an actual problem. Yeah, so is this. People are getting hurt. It's not 20 cents for cheese. Eventually it'll hurt somebody. Hurt your pocketbook, eh, Rob? Oh, yeah. That's right. It's the same cheese. It's the same cheese. This story's a little different. What happened? So in Florida, a 66-year-old man ended up getting arrested after he went to his local Burger King and found that they were out of lemonade. Well, that's ridiculous. He was extremely upset. He was at the drive-thru and said that the drive-thru employee failed to respond to his threat of contacting the police over it. So he dialed 911.
Good for you, old guy. Great idea. And complained. So he has now been issued a notice for a court appearance and was charged with misusing an emergency service. Oh, my. So, you know, once again, it's typical of Burger King to not listen to somebody's complaints. What are they supposed to do if they're out of they're out of lemonade. Go cut some lemons down and make some more. Well, they are in Florida. At least give them a coupon for lemonade. No, they probably gave them a coupon for like free ice. I appreciate nothing. Tough love it is. Tough love. Now, check this out. That's right. That's where the tough love began. With Burger King. So did anybody get all the little white hail In San Diego? Any parts of San Diego? No. I didn't get any hail. Not at all. It was crazy, bro. It was like the perfect storm. It was scary. It was nuts, dude. Will you breathe? It was psycho crazy. Really dramatic. Did you call 911? Oh, I should have. Let me tell you. Sky... Well, listen. Sky has a tendency to exaggerate. That is true. But not this time. What is that? Let me take a look. I'm America's sweetheart. This time...
She's being for real. Yeah, it was snowing. Dude, go to MikeyShow.com and click on Skye's gorgeous picture right there underneath the word blogs. You'll see a picture of Skye. Click on that. And that's a nice picture of you in there, too. Where's that dog? Whose dog is that? That's Marley. From the movie Marley? I thought it was a white dog. You don't know. She has pictures of... Her backyard. It looks like snow. Do you live in Big Bear? Yes. That is the Dito, bro. You're kidding me. Yeah. It was like hailing so hard that it was like snowing. Everybody's roof was covered in it. That is unbelievable. The cars were covered in it. I've never seen anything like that. That's nuts. It was the exact same at my house in Poway. What was it? Three separate times it hailed so hard. Nandropper. Yeah. Mikey Show. Hello. Mikey Show. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hey. Hey. What's going on? What's up? Oh, not much, man. I was just listening to the show, and it's amazing to me how people here in San Diego are freaking out about the weather. Well, see, we don't get it very often. We don't get that kind of stuff. Did you see my blog, bro? That's right. Where do you live? It looks like it snowed. Where do you live, sir? I live out in Spring Valley, but I'm originally from Kentucky, and I would love to see what would happen.
And if people got like golf ball sized hail. We'd die. We'd die. You see what happens when it rains on the freeways. It was real small. This hail took stucco off my house. Off the side of my house where it was like coming in sideways. It like knocked stucco off my house. Yeah, see bro, the deal is that here in San Diego we're just not used to it. So it would be like if you were out in Kentucky and you had a 6.1 earthquake. Oh yeah, thank you. Actually, I have experienced an earthquake. Oh, fine. Kentucky gets every single terrible thing ever. It's like if you were out in Kentucky and you had beautiful weather for 11 months out of the year, you'd freak out. You would freak out. It's true. I just figure if I had ever snowed real bad, like in Minnesota or something like that, it'd be like a national emergency. It would. Yeah, the one guy that owns a plow would be a millionaire. Rob, that's me. Rebecca and I went to Sammy's Wood Fired Pizza San Marcos. Did she have the chardonnay? Sky likes a lot of it. It's so good. She's tried them all. And we left. Saturday night, we left. And it was kind of nippy outside. A little cold. And she goes, this is the
coldest weather I've ever experienced in my time. She's born and raised. Born and raised here. San Marcos. That's what I'm saying. She goes, I'm like, babe, please, it's not that cold. Start a fire. She was freaking out. I'm bag rails. Yes, exactly. I'm in San Diego County. If you don't stay warm, your body temperature could plummet. I'll show you how to survive. That's Sammy's Woodfire Pizza. That's right. What's the matter? Hey, dude. I live out here in Escondido, too, dude, and it hailed the size of grapefruits. Grapefruits? Grapefruits? I've never eaten a grapefruit. Were these like those mini grapefruits the size of marbles? Come on, dude. Yeah, dude, a grapefruit is like a softball. It was not that big. Yeah, little boulders is real. I don't know where you live, Scott, but at my house, it was the size of the grapefruit, though. I don't doubt it, Sanjaya. For real? Yep, no joke. The size of a boy boulder's head. That's right. Now, with the top sports stories of the day, it's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. All right, before I get into this whole baseball controversy, I do have some...
Some other stories that happened over the weekend, including the Phillies. They've reached an agreement with Ryan Howard for a three-year, $54 million deal. The economy. That's a lot. Tough times. Tough times. I hope he can survive. We all remember Andrew Jones. It affects everybody, man. It does. It's so sad when you really bring it home and that kind of thing. Hot pockets. All right. Andrew Jones, who was released by the Dodgers earlier this year, he signed a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers. So he's going to try and make the Texas Rangers. Wow. NASCAR is back, if anybody is aware of that. Kevin Harvick won the Buds shootout. And Martin Truex Jr. won the pole for the Daytona 500. And he'll be at the thing party. Yeah. Okay. Still uncomfortable. This wasn't much of a... Nice. It wasn't much of a one-on-one battle they were hoping for between Kobe and LeBron. Kobe apparently had the flu and LeBron had kind of an off night, but the Lakers handed the Cavaliers their first home loss of the year. Eddie, I have issues with this. Issues? If somebody has the... And they're passing that ball around. That's not like you're sweating all over it or anything like that. It's not like you're getting the party juice. Gross. Party boy juice. Party boy juice. That's disgusting. They're fine. They're fine.
Former Falcons running back Jamal Anderson was arrested on felony possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. No. He's in some big trouble. Dude, I always used to think of Jamal Anderson as one of the good guys. Yes, so did I. Got some drug issues. Yeah, I read, like, because it was on TMZ or something, that he was at some club or something, and, like, a bouncer went into the bathroom and heard snorting noises coming from a stall and went into the stall. Maybe he has a cold. Maybe that's what was going on. He could have been sniffing. I'm just saying, Lars, you have sinus issues. And then we had the big Torrey Pines tournament, or the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines this past weekend, and little-known... Nick Watney, he rallied from five back to overtake John Rollins to win the tournament. And the big controversy from this weekend was involving Alex Rodriguez. Baseball's biggest name now is apparently he tested positive for anabolic steroids back in 2003 when they did an anonymous test and his name was released and leaked. Doesn't sound very anonymous. Yeah, his name is now associated.
with anabolic steroids, and the year in 2003 that apparently he tested positive was the year that he won the AL home run title and the MVP award. Dude. Now, and there's more names, right? Well, they say there was 104 names that tested positive. Aye, aye, aye. But the only one that was leaked was A-Rod. Yeah, so now are they going to release all the names? I really don't know. I mean, they haven't said whether or not they're going to, but I mean, this is... It's weird because it was supposed to be this anonymous test to see if they needed to make tests for steroids like random drug testing and stuff like that. And so the fact that his name got released, I mean, that's big. That's huge, man. Yeah. So, I mean, it's just weird now that, I mean, every big name is basically linked to steroids now. So I don't know where to go with baseball at this point. Yeah. You know, so now what? Does A-Rod not go in the Hall of Fame? Right. I mean, come on. Where does it end? That's why that debate, man, that's a really interesting conversation of do these guys go into the Hall of Fame? You know, like I said, I mean, it's so hard because so many were doing it, you know? And it's not like just the batters are doing it. The pitchers are doing it, too. Yeah. So it's almost like an equal playing ground.
It's almost like they should build at the Baseball Hall of Fame, they should build an area of the Baseball Hall of Fame that represents that era. Shaped like a needle. The room is shaped like a syringe. Everybody is saying, you know, that they'll put these people in, but they should have an asterisk next to their name. Which, you know, if I'm Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens, I'm like, don't even put me in then. Yeah. Because I don't want to be going in like that. What do you think, Eddie? I think that this is just one of those things. Back in the 60s, 70s, and I'm sure before that, pitchers were doing things to baseballs. They were putting grease on it. They were scratching them. They were using sandpaper. There's never been a talk about, oh, let's put... Raleigh fingers with an asterisk over his name because he was messing around with the baseball or whoever back in the day. And so Bob Gibson, whatever, they were doing it. I'm sure batters were screwing around with their bats. We saw what happened to Sammy Sosa. Would you vote for Barry Bonds? If you were a voter, Eddie, would you vote for him to enter? 100%. I think I would, too. 100%. What about you, Rob? I put him in, but I say there's got to be a little...
Asterisk there. And I say that because I think it might be a level playing field for the guys that were doing it, but what about all the people that weren't? What about a little notation? You know how they get their bust and then their little plaque? At the end of the plaque, Bonds was thought to be playing during the steroid era or something like that. Like that's a notation on their thing. See, I think so too, you know? See, I don't have a problem with that. Do you think that's okay? I kind of do. That's what I was saying. The era must be represented. Not represented. It must be acknowledged and noted. We can't just pretend that dudes weren't juicing up. They were, and it made a difference. Then again, I look at it, and again, I bring up the example of Ken Griffey Jr., who's never been linked to steroids. What if it comes out after he's in the Hall of Fame? Yeah, I found out Ken Griffey did use steroids. Do we go back and change his plaque and say, you know, he was also one that did? It's such a weird situation. Well, the thing that I think of is it wasn't actually illegal in baseball at the time. Isn't it weird, though, that it was illegal? Yeah, it's illegal to have steroids. What company allows their employees to engage in illegal activity?
You know what I mean? Like, we're not allowed. Yeah. You know, knowingly, Clear Channel can't let us, like, you know what I mean? Like, we're not allowed. So, I don't know. 570-1053, a lot of people calling in. P1 Dylan. Hey, what's up? What's up? How you doing? Good. Um, well, like, you know what's up? There's, like, guys from, like, Greg Maddox, who didn't do roids, obviously. Look at his body. And he looks probably like a frost soft-serve ice cream cone without a shirt. Oh. It's awesome. It's awesome. But we don't know that at some point he could have been injured and he could have taken some HGH to help him recover. We don't know. Yeah, but chances are he didn't.
I mean, look at him. He's had a pretty steady career. No question. No question about it. And he became a pitcher after he was a thrower. He threw hard when he was young, but he became a pitcher. You know what, though? I got to say, like, Eddie's right. There's no way of knowing, so you have to judge all equally. There's no way of knowing. Like, you can sit here, we can sit here all day and say, Well, he doesn't look like he did, and he doesn't... Who knows? Andy Pettis, to me, doesn't look like a guy that used steroids, but he used HGH to recover from injuries. And he admitted it. Yeah. He admitted it. You still hit the ball, though. I mean, granted, these guys are stronger, but you still got to put the bat on the ball to get it out of the park. Absolutely. Absolutely. They've become much better hitters since the 50s and 60s. They hit the ball opposite field better. They're just better players on top of being stronger. Hey, Dylan, thanks, man. P1 Spam Jelly is on the line. Hi, Spam Jelly. That's gross. That is gross. Go ahead, Spam Jelly. No, I agree with Boston Rob. Bonds definitely should go in first time. But the asterisk does have to be there because, you know, he did kind of cheat. What about guys that cheated back in the day? Like the scuff of baseball.
I'm not saying Wally Fingers did, but there's been no, you know, like Gaylor Perry that, you know, scuffed the baseball. Let's put these names back in the day. I know it. Wally Fingers. They're awesome. What about Catfish Hunter? Catfish Hunter. You know, they were scuffing the ball. They were putting jelly on it. You know, what about the old spit ball? You know, I mean, that was all, you know, real big back in the day. They didn't shatter records like Bonds, A-Rod. I mean, these guys are doing monstrous numbers, whereas those pitchers are just, you know, getting out. It's not really going through. It's got a, you know, there's a little bit of a difference there with steroids. Cheating's cheating world. That's right. Cheating. Cheating. Cheating. Hey, dude, thanks for the call. Anybody want to play P1 Trivia? 570-1053. If you want to come and hang out in the studio on Friday, 570-1053. This lady from Colorado achieved something over the weekend. I'm like... I still want to ask Guy, is this for real? She really did do this? We'll tell you what it is next. You are listening to the Mikey Show. How dare you all attack him like this? Mikey. Michael is your superior. You should be back. This is Rock 105.3. Great. Is there a problem, officer? Do you know why I stopped you? Well, I'm the new spicy chicken enchilada platter from Taco Bell. So unless you're craving two spicy chicken enchiladas, seasoned rice and beans, chips and chunky salsa for dinner, can't say I do.
Wow, you do sound delicious. But that's not the point. If this is about tickets to the policeman's ball... The point is that enchiladas usually take forever, and yet you're ready so quick. I'd say there was speeding involved. Well, there's certainly no law against getting your enchiladas faster. Not to mention, I don't even drive... Tell it to the judge. Say some enchiladas just happened to find their way into your squad car. Would our little problem go away? Uh, what problem is that? Taco Bell's new spicy chicken enchilada platter, smothered with warm, zesty red sauce and gooey melted cheese. For enchiladas at the speed of Taco Bell, think outside the bun. And participate in locations for a limited time. I got to tell you about my experience at Frog's Fitness. You know, I can't tell you how many people on Friday, and it feels so good, man. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. One of the only times I was ever in shape in my life was when I was a freshman in high school, you know? Eddie. I love it. Sky. I don't know. Wait, wait. Boston Rock. What would you do for your Red Sox? I would do anything. And Ashley. I didn't even go to San Diego State. I did. I practically graduated. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Did you know Subway is doing breakfast now? I had no idea. They just brought in some delicious looking sandwiches. They're making like breakfast sandwiches out of flatbread. That's huge. Yeah. It's pretty cool. And they look good, man. Yeah, you're saying something about hash browns. I don't know. I haven't got to look at it yet. Dude. It sounds delish. Calm down. Well, I'm just saying. Double bacon and cheese omelet on flatbread. Yes, I'll take that. Western and cheese omelet on flatbread. Is there ham in any of them? Oh, Sky. I'm just asking. I didn't say anything about you.
He wanted to know if there was any ham ones. He didn't say that necessarily anybody would, in particular. That was crazy. You know, the first one spoke up, though. Ham flavor all the way from tip to prong. Okay, fine. And you just happened to have that clip on the ready. Like, I don't. Ham is just the beginning. You know what I mean? It has nothing to do with me. You're saying you just collect ham clips. I happened to have that clip. I happened to have that clip, and I thought that it might make sense. It works. It works. You know what I'm saying? This is out of hand. That's right. It's out of ham. Did anybody get one? Well, of course Rob did. Rob grabbed one for himself. I got one for Eddie, too. I thought he said he wanted the sausage and egg. I don't know. Is there ham over there, Mike? Will you shut your mouth? Again, I didn't say anything about you. He said, Sky, what would you like? And then you said, is there ham over there? Shall I look for a ham one since I'm over here? I think you should. Mike... All right. Skye, look. Come on. Hashies. I like hashies. Calm down. Hashies. Let's investigate. Oh, yeah. Well, I need to investigate. Look at it, then. Can you? I don't want to stand here holding it. But look how cool these little hash browns look. Okay. That's great. They're little circles. Little nugget hashies. That's fantastic. Little spices in there. Yummy. Virtual spices. That's cool. Way to go, Subway. That's right. Oh, it's awesome. Let's see. Rob. Rob's already eaten, like, half of it.
We need a woman to call in for P1 Trivia, by the way. So if there's any ladies in the house, that's what we're saying. Yeah, that's right. I went towards the end of the show. That got a little sideways, you know what I'm saying? 5701053, if you're a woman and you want to play P1 Trivia. Now, the winner of P1 Trivia gets to come into the studio on Friday. You get a backstage laminated pass. You get to hang out for the entire show, get to see what goes on behind the scenes, and in the studio here with us. And in addition to that, you get a catered breakfast. Nice. Which is really cool. So it's a pretty nice deal. Skye, tell us about what this chick just did, the chick from Colorado.
Well, she is not the first person to do this, but she is the first woman. She climbed John Elway's teeth. No way. It was quite dangerous. A human being can never do that. It was touch and go for a while, but she accomplished it. She did it. Yeah. Yes. But she became the first woman to swim across the Atlantic Ocean. So a dude had already done it? Yeah. Wow. How many times do you have to stop for directions? Well, anyway. Three. Three. the wreck is three times. It's not in a circle. Sky is looking at Eddie right now with anger in her face. It's hurt, sadness, or fear? It's all three. It's all three. Not by your words, sad that it's true. Sorry about that. Now you go.
How is that humanly possible? Well, here's the deal, you guys. This is going to make you mad, but let me give you the other details before you get angry. This is going to be phony. She left Africa's west coast on January 12th. Yeah, right. Okay. And then arrived in Trinidad in the Caribbean on February the 5th. See, that's not fair because we don't know where that is. Well, she went from Africa to the Caribbean, okay? Okay. So she was escorted by a sailboat. And depending on how bad the water was and how tired she was, she would only be in the water for a specific amount of times. But I assume the sailboat wouldn't move when she wasn't in the water. You know what I mean? They'd have to anchor it, right? Yeah. So they say the longest day she was in the water was eight hours on a day. And the shortest time she was in the water on one day was just about 20 minutes. You go inside the cage? 40 minutes? Cage goes in the water. Wow. You go in the water. What else is there? Forget it. I ain't getting it. Skye, how do they protect it from sharks? Compressed air. I don't think they do, Mike. I think that's the gamble you take. Forget it. That is compressed air. How do they do that? Yeah, she was battling waves of up to 30 feet at some point. Forget it.
Is she crazy? 30-foot waves. Yeah. And then, yeah, just all the critters in the ocean, too. Dude, forget about it. No way. No way. Not enough money in the world, bro. Go for a nice night swim, eh, Mike? Oh, dude. That is the scariest thought. Hell to the go. Let's play. Do you know who's a germaphobe? Come on. Do you know who's got nothing to say? Oh, boy. So if you think you're in the know of the studio, he won't save you. Yes. P1 Trivia. Winner gets to come into the studio with a laminated backstage pass. Catered breakfast and hang out for the show. It's a pretty good prize. And all you have to do is get to five points. We got questions for you. They're all related to the Mikey Show. And they are assigned a point value. So we got one, two, and three point questions. The first person to five points is the winner. Big Mike is on the line. What's up, Mike?
Hey, Mikey, how are you doing? I'm doing good, bro. Let's get some info from you. Absolutely. How old are you? I am 33. And you've been listening how long? I've been listening since you guys did the Sean Merriman draft. Oh, yeah, yeah. That was, what, three years ago, Eddie? Three? Yeah, three years. Which is good. We've only been on the air here for four years, so you're doing pretty good there. And your opponent is going to be P1 Kelly. Hi, Kelly. How are you? How old are you? 20. You're 20 years old. 20? 20. Where are you from? London. I love you. Oh, yeah. Look at you. Love it. No, that's Australian. I love it. It's an Australian accent. Welcome to our country. Yeah. Kelly, how long have you been listening? Just over a year. A year. All right. It's going to be a good battle. You like our Yankee humor, huh? It's very different, isn't it? Too much.
Thank you. It's a little too much. I agree. All right, Kelly, you're going to kick things off. Do you want a one, two, or three-point question about The Mikey Show? Okay. You want a two-pointer. You're going to play it safe. This is a tough question. Who on the show occasionally wears mom shorts? Let me think. Guy? That is correct. That is correct. All the time. That is not correct because I've never worn mom shorts. She's got them on right now. Skye. They are not mom shorts. She only wears them in the summertime. That's a faulty question. That is not a faulty question. Skye does wear mom shorts. What they are is their jeans usually, denim material, and you've seen them before on your friendly neighborhood mom. Usually she's gardening. Yes. Or something like that. Okay. That is correct. Let's see. I'm trying to see. I know I have... Okay. I'm trying to find my buzzers. I have to learn the system. I'm still... Okay, I think I got it. Is this it? No, that's not it. There we go. We got a correct and an incorrect. I'm ready to rock. All right, Kelly, you got two points. Mike, what do you want? One, two, or three-pointer? I'm going to go the Skyway. I'll take a two. You want a two? Nice. Who is Ashley's favorite football player? Oh, that would be Mr. Larry Fitzpatrick.
That would be correct. You are correct. So we have a tied game. Kelly, what are you going to do? Are you going to try to end it with three or play it safe? I'm going to play it safe and go for number two. That's a good one. That's a little too much. P1 Kelly. P1 Kelly. Who refuses to use online banking and only goes into the bank personally? Would that be Skye? That is incorrect, but it's a good guess. It is not a good guess. It's a great guess. She's more confused by the banking situation. That is true. That's another story, though. That's actually Rob. Rob refuses to do any of his banking online, and he will only, only go into the bank.
Which is ridiculous. The safest way. People make fun of his accent. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. They have an accent. I don't. Let's see. Mike, what would you like to do? Wrap it up. I'll go for three. Now you're going to do three. Atta boy. Wow. Your three-point question, Mike, is who is the composer? I hate whoever wrote this question. Who is the composer? This is a good one. I haven't even heard it yet. I already hate this person. Poser that I used to cry to when I heard their music. Wow. Oh, goodness. Yeah, it's like Mozart. Think of it, Mike. No problem. Mike's getting teary-eyed. Stop it.
Sobbing. I think you were, like, in the fifth grade or something ridiculous. Hey, listen, we don't have to revisit. That is true. Sound it out. It was powerfully musing. What? Moving. What? Music. I'm going to go with Bach. That is incorrect. That would be ridiculous. And that's ridiculous. Nah, dude. I would never cry to Bach. That's gay. I used to cry to Rachmaninoff. Oh. We got to get a little clip of their music for whenever people have to bring it up. Can you handle it? I can handle it. I'm checking on you. Can I handle it? I don't know. I don't want to make sure you're all right. P1 Kelly. What are you going to do here? One, two, or three pointer? I'm going to go for three. You're going to do a three? Oh my gosh, Kelly. Whoa. Look at you. Your three point question is... Name the two people that competed in the Mikey Show comedy showdown. Would it be Eddie and Rob? That is incorrect. You are 50% correct. It was actually Boy Blunder and Rob. That's right. Dang it. You want Mike? I'll go for another three. You want another three? Let's see. I almost had that Rachmanovic one. Rachmanovic.
Your three-point question is, what charity did... Yes. What charity did Sky play for in the poker tournament that she won? What charity did Sky play for? My dad was the children's hospital. She wouldn't have been that nice. That's true. A jerk. He's a strategy, Skye. And so I had to go away from it. Yeah, and you went away from it and now you're losing. That's right. And being a jerk. That's right. I'm going to go with Habitat for Humanity. Wow. Well, that's a good charity. Yes. But it is incorrect. Skye actually played for the Humane Society. Yes. I got little baby Dito. That's right. You haven't changed that cat's name yet. It's still Dito. No, it's still Dito.
All right, Kelly. Leave her alone. What are you going to do? One, two, or three-point question here? I'm going to go easy and go for two. You're going to go for a two-pointer? There you go. Yeah. Who on the show is expecting a baby? That is correct. That is correct. The score is four to two. Who has the baby, Mike or Kelly? Mike, is that you, Kelly? Yes. What's your baby's name? I don't have a baby. I thought I heard a baby in the background. I'm a nanny. You're a nanny. Of course, you're British. You got the question. Of course, yeah. You're British. I love your show. You are Joe Fox. Are you super nanny? 9911. You know what, guys? It's so funny. I've never heard that joke before in my life. Thank you very much. Remember when I said a little much? Mike. Mike, what are you going to do? Listen to him. You need the win, dude. i know i'll go for another three oh and why are you doing that to mike mike who was sky's presidential candidate who was sky's what's that originally yes it was john edward oh you are correct nice good job well done sir
Pulled it out. Pulled out his three-point question. You are a winner. And, Kelly, you did fantastic. Of course you get to come in, too. But you've got to leave the kids at home. That's right. But bring the accent. Yeah, bring the accent. Bring the accent, but you've got to leave the kids where they are. Oh, that's no problem. All right, hang on the line, both of you, okay? I leave them alone all the time. I'm not even with the mask. I'm with them without the ball. All right, here's the deal. Here's the deal. You're going to love this. You have to take a quick time out. Bye. Bye. of Grammy audio that we still haven't even gone over. So I want to do some of the Grammy audio, maybe some of Christian Bale's comments, because Christian Bale's talking now. I'm sorry I pronounced things correctly. You and Giada. You and Giada. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm inaccurate. That's on fire. She's authentic. What do you want from her? She's authentic. She's half Italian. Yes, I am. We just got off the boat. That's right. She just moved here.
Yeah. Ashley's mom left her another message. I love her. Really? Yeah. Now, we have an Ashley's mom soundboard available for you. We can just sit there and click on these. Oh, shoot. All these sound effects. Oh, boy. These are all Ashley's mom. Call your mom and play these for her. That's right. There it is. So, she left Ash a message, and this is what it said. Okay. Okay. Every call? Like, what is that? Every call begins with, Hi, Sarah, it's love. I hope you have a good weekend. Wait a minute. What's going on, Ash? Where is it? I'm playing it right from the front. Where is it? It's at the bottom. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. I had it wrong. In white. Here we go. Here we go. Hi, Sarah. I saw my email, and I saw your little article that was in the, I guess, San Diego paper or something. Okay. Okay.
First, we have to explain. That's fantastic already. That's already great. But Ashley, okay, P1 Philly's Finest, who's one of our listeners, he wrote a story about Ashley going to San Diego State, being an alumni, and basically doing well for herself and making it to the Mikey Show. Well, the article appeared in the San Diego Union Tribune. Now, Ash, did your mom go to their website and she saw it? I sent it to everyone in my family. So where, like, because wherever she saw it, people were able to leave comments, right? Correct. And this is the same link, Mike, that's on our website right now, mikeyshow.com. So you can go and see, and it'll take you to, like, the little blurb on the online newspaper where the article is. Right. So that's what she got. So she had just been there and seen that. Now, what people need to know is that we have a listener who calls himself P1 Ashley's mom. Right.
P1 Ashley's mom had actually left a comment there, right? Yeah, you can leave comments about what you think of the article. Like, my grandma left a comment. A couple of listeners left a comment. Nice. Yeah. So, with that in mind, let's take a listen to Ashley's mom's message. Hi, Sarah. I got on my email, and I saw your little article that was, I guess, San Diego paper or something. You see, San Diego State. Whatever. I love her voice. I love her voice. I love her voice. I love it. And by the way, it sounds like she might be like me. It sounds like she might be like my dad. If my dad gets on a computer and goes on the internet, he says he got on his email. Really? Yes. My dad says, I was on the email the other day. That means he was on his computer. Oh, wow. Doing the email or the internet or anything. If he's doing anything on there, he was on his emails. He was on his emails. All right.
And so I noticed that Grandma posted something, and then the second one was UCLA, why do you sound so funny, posted by Ashley's mom. How dare that person. I didn't put that there. Oh, my gosh. She's offended. Oh, no. So she thinks that somebody's impersonating her. Yes. It's an imposter. How dare they? It's an imposter. How dare they? Well, and I like what they put, what they wrote. They wrote UCLA. Now, she doesn't know, right? No. She has no idea. She doesn't know. She doesn't even know that we're playing clips all the time. You know what I mean? that she'd understand you know i don't ever want her to think we're making fun of her in a bad way because we're not i love her and so i don't ever want to hurt her feelings so i think it's better she doesn't know right i don't know that she'd get it yeah it's tough to explain how do you really explain you know mom it's it's just awesome when you shout out you know what i mean yeah you're the best that's fantastic all your p1 fans
Please put that there. I was at work at that time of the morning. Oh, wow. Anyways, give me a call. I'll talk to you later. Oh, that's the best. Let's get my advice on this. That was awesome. Oh, my gosh. I had a job. I have an alibi. Where that hobo should be. Impostering me. That was awesome. Take a look at it. Crazy. That was awesome. So you guys tell me, which do you think is juicier? Christian Bale or the cockpit? stuff from flight 1549. Which do you like? Because they're both good. Both awesome. I don't know, for me, the cockpit thing is pretty good. That guy's just solid. It's pretty good, man. Solid. Dude, the captain is Captain Sully. Sully had his nails. That's right. Full name. Flight 1549, he's the pilot that landed this aircraft safely into the Hudson River. Miracle on the Hudson. Dude, it's a movie already. Miracle on the Hudson. In a TV event. Oh, wow. TV movie.
So this is the actual cockpit tape from when they were going down. All right, Cactus 1549. It's going to be left traffic to runway 31. Okay, what do you need to land? Cactus 1549. Runway 4 is available if you want to make left traffic to runway 4. I'm not sure we can make any runway. What's over to our right? Anything in New Jersey? Maybe Teterboro. Okay, yeah. Off your right side is Teterboro Airport. Do you want to try to go to Teterboro? Yep. Teterboro Empire. Actually, LaGuardia Departure got emergency inbound. Hey, guys. Cactus 1529 over to George Washington Bridge wants to go to your airport right now.
Dude, that's the hell... It's crazy. It's the third time I've heard it, and I get chills every time. Insane. Every time we listen to it, I get the chills. Oh, my God. Like, we're going in the Hudson. Dude, he's hard nails, bro. So he's on 60 Minutes, and they're talking to him about... Eddie, do we have time, or should we come back and do this? Probably have to come back. Dude, this is... You've got to come back with us. When we come back, I'm going to give you the audio. Where he's explaining what it sounded like when these birds started hitting the plane. It's unreal. Dude, you guys, I haven't even played you this. One of the flight attendants, because they're interviewing the whole crew on 60 Minutes. One of the flight attendants, they're all wearing their uniforms. Except for one. Doreen Welsh would not wear her uniform on television. When we come back, she'll explain. Well done. Nice. Well done, sir. Specifically at you. Well done, sir. You're welcome. We're on it. Okay, so I told you. I told you that we had this audio from 60 Minutes of Captain Sully. And it's actually the entire crew of Flight 1549, the airplane that landed in the Hudson River. We just heard some really incredible audio from Captain Sully describing his initial thoughts when there were problems. There was a flight attendant who did not wear her uniform for the interview on 60 Minutes. In a couple minutes, I'm going to play for you why she didn't. First, more of Captain Sully. Here he is talking about whether or not he thought about the passengers. So you were going fast toward the Earth. Yes, the water was coming up at us fast.
Towards the earth? As opposed to the sun. Well, we don't know. He's like, that is incorrect. Do you think about the passengers at that moment? Not specifically. I mean, I had to solve this problem. I knew I had to find a way out of this box. Honest answer? He's working on what he's going to, you know, how am I going to nail this sucker? Now, if you guys are, if you don't know what it takes, which I didn't. But all the things that it takes to be able to land a plane. Takes brass balls. Yeah, it does, right? This is what he went through. And kind of the checklist that he had to do to land this plane properly. What were some of the things you had to do to make this landing successful? I needed to touch down with the wings exactly level. I needed to touch down with the nose slightly up. I needed to touch down at a decent rate that was survivable.
And I needed to touch down just above our minimum flying speed, but not below it. And I needed to make all these things happen simultaneously. Anna Cherry's Jubilee, and that's it. That's it, though. That is it. And yet you had to keep your cool. The physiological reaction I had to this was strong. And I had to force myself to use my training and force calm on the situation. Was that a hard thing to do? No. It just took some concentration. He's like, that was the easiest landing I've ever had. Dude. Throw something hard at me. I know. All right. I love how, you know, he's just very frank. He's like, no. No. I once landed in a volcano. That was tough. Yep. Did it feel like three and a half minutes? Yes, it did. Really? Really. It wasn't in slow motion or? I wish it had been. I might have thought about more things on the way down. He's awesome. Yeah. He is awesome. Let's see. So, then.
He kind of goes into what kind of confidence he had in himself. I made the brace for impact announcement in the cabin. And immediately through the hardened cockpit door, I heard the flight attendants began shouting their commands in response to my command to brace. Heads down, stay down. I could hear them clearly. They were chanting it in unison over and over again to the passengers to warn them and instruct them. They were on the same page. If I could land the airplane that they them out safely. But there was still a big if. I was sure I could do it. That dude is the best, man. Find me somewhere, dude. So here is flight attendant Doreen Welsh explaining why she's not wearing her uniform. This is the first time you all have worn your uniforms since January 15th. Doreen, you don't have yours on. I just can't put it on yet. My uniform was in shreds.
Soaking wet. I had a different story in the back of that airplane. And mine was more violent and more. The uniform just went to pieces. I can't explain. I'm just not ready to put it on yet. How crazy is that? That her uniform. It was so violent back there. Which I didn't know. Oh my gosh. For whatever reason when I first heard about this story. I thought that it was like hey it was a little bit rough. But you know whatever. Apparently she got her uniform shredded up. Well, it sounds like, you know, the back of the plane had it the worst because the back of the plane was actually like in the water. You know, passengers were talking about how they were seeing like the water level on the windows back there. And then you could only exit the front. Yeah, we got her talking about what was happening back there. Check it out. A passenger had come back and pushed back me and opened the door just enough that the water came flooding in. Oh, my God. I went back twice and tried to reclose it.
would only go so far it wouldn't stop and the water was just rising. You know, garbage cans would float, coffee pots were floating like at this level and things were flying. It was crazy back there. The impact was so powerful that it tore a hole under the airplane's tail. Doreen Welsh feared she and some of the passengers would not get out alive as water was pouring into the cabin. By the time I left there, it was here. There was no doubt in my mind it was over. And I just... went crazy and started yelling at people and pushing people and getting people to go over the seats. And as I was getting up, I thought, I might actually live. Because a second ago, I thought I was gone. So my emotions had gone through within seconds, accepting death and seeing life. It was unbelievable. Unreal. Just a perspective that none of us will probably ever have.
Ever experienced that. I mean, it's just unbelievable. Now, we've all been through the situation where, you know, something traumatic happens. The first person we think of is our wife, our husband. And so there is Captain Sully and the rescue has just happened and he calls his wife. He decides he's going to call his wife and she tells that story. One of the first calls Captain Sullenberger made was to his wife, Lori. What did he say to you? Well, I'll tell on myself and say that when he did call our house, I was actually on the other line and I ignored the phone call. You're the worst. You are the worst. Dude, you look at the caller ID. You're like, oh, I'm talking to Linda. Yeah.
She's telling me all about her son's soccer game. I can't. I'll just talk to him later. He did so good. He scored like three goals. Yeah, I can't tell her in the middle of this. It would be rude. Really rude. Really rude. Twice. And when he called the third time, I said to the person, I think I should take the call. And so I hung up and took the call from Sully. And he was very calm. And said, I just wanted you to know I'm okay. But I thought that meant that he was on the flight coming home, that he had made the connection and was coming home. And I just said, okay, that's good. And he said, no, there's been an incident. I had to ditch an airplane in the Hudson River. And I laid down on the bed for a moment. I wasn't crying, but I was just in shock, really shaking. Yeah. Dude, how crazy is that? Good stuff, man. Good stuff. I can't even imagine. Pretty amazing pilot to be able to get through all that. A couple of stories that we didn't get to tell you yet. Tonight, Obama's doing a primetime news conference. Yeah, it's going to be his first televised primetime news conference since becoming president. It's going to be 8 o'clock Eastern time tonight. What's that, 5? Yeah, 5 o'clock for us. I bet it will be record...
ratings because he's an attractive person. Yeah, if people know about it, I mean, this morning was the first I've heard that this is even happening tonight. So it's going to interrupt primetime shows? Well, that's interesting. Oh, is it really? Let's look, yeah, because even though it wouldn't affect us if it doesn't air, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, because like NBC in the 8 o'clock hour says to be announced. I want to see it. And NBC says to be announced. You know, like in the past, you know? Like in the past, I probably have been like, eh, I'll get the details in the morning. But because it's our new, black, attractive, young, hip president, I'm like, yeah, I'll watch it. Balling! Plus, it's all about this economic stimulus bill and his plan to turn our economy around, which is very important to a lot of people right now. Sure you can have my number, baby. Yay! What's up, Scott? Did it! That's right. Just saying. Calm down. Buy your own damn fries. Wait, that's what he has to say about the economy. You were so sweet a second ago. He thinks that, you know, we all think that he's going to be buying us all fries because he's a new president. Well, guess what? Buy your own damn fries. That's right. Well, that's not very stimulus. That is not very stimulus at all. That's not very stimulus, Aiden. I don't know about that. What else is going on? San Diego is going to hold their first public hearings tonight to discuss water rationing.
Are you kidding? It's been raining. Look outside. Look outside. That's not going to. Look outside. It's raining. It's raining for like one day. Yeah. It's raining for like one day. It's like no one's ark out there. It's been like one day. Get the giraffes. Get the rhinos. Guys. We've got enough for years. I've just put a bunch of buckets outside of my house and I'm going to go to this meeting. Thank you. I'm going to sell a lot of water and buckets outside the meeting. That's smart, Rob. Yeah, thank you. What are they going to make us do? Well, so the people that supply most of San Diego's water said that they soon may slash their deliveries here to San Diego as much as 20%. No. Because, you know, a drought and other. What are you talking about? Sparklets? No, not sparklets. I mean like water that comes out of your tap. No, the tap water. What I'm talking about. So, you know, this is the first of three meetings where the mayor and the city wants to hear from people about suggestions they have. Because especially farmers in the area, you know, with the citrus groves and the avocado, this is going to hurt them a lot. They shouldn't have to take part in that. They grow stuff. They should be exempt. Exactly.
The peanut noir. Peanut noir. I'm sure they would love that. They're making the peanut noir out there. They should be giving a break, don't you think? Absolutely. Yeah, so the meeting's 6 o'clock tonight at the Otay Mesa Nestor Library branch. Look at you. I'm going to be there anyway. Oh, yeah, just checking out. Just stop by. Going over some microfiche. Very little fish. You guys know the famous Obama Hope poster? Oh, yeah. I think so. The red, white, and blue picture of Obama that says hope underneath. Yeah, Skye, tell us about the creator of that poster. Well, Mike, you know, artists like to do art. Yeah, it's their thing. I've heard that. Sure. Yeah, you know. They like to draw. And this guy was on his way to Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art. Oh, yeah, I know exactly where that is. Let me pause now. I guess he was actually walking in the joint because he was being honored that evening there. They were doing an art exhibit and honoring him. And he was arrested because two warrants were issued for him last month because he did graffiti, allegedly, at two locations in the city. Oh, how about that? What a surprise. Yeah, graffiti artist. Yeah, so he was arrested. Can Obama just stay away from criminals? Leave him alone.
Can you stay away from criminals? He has nothing to do with this guy's portrait of him. Like, he's got a string of bad luck, man. Enough is enough. All right. Impeachment. Daschle, Bogoyevich. Stop it. The Hope guy. Stop it. What's next? Stop it. The Obama girl pie? Yeah. The Obama girl pie. You know what I mean? Okay, so who's in the Dancing with the Stars lineup? Who's Dancing with the Stars this season? Barry Manilow. Yes. Come on. Hey. Bill Macy. Is that who it is, Skye? Is it Bill Macy? Eddie worked with him personally. Yeah, we're good bros. Well, we have a couple couples this year, actually. We have Jewel, who will participate, you know. Love her. And her husband, her husband, Cowboy Ty Murray, will also be competing this season. I think it's a strange name to name your child. Cowboy. No, well, he's a cowboy. His name is Ty. Yeah, it's just forcing him to go into that line of work. It's like enough of these, you know, stage parents. Bob the Builder. Yeah, exactly. What is he going to do? Bob the Builder Smith. So their husband and wife, they will both be competing with, you know, against each other. Country star Chuck Wicks.
Never heard of him. Who is that? I haven't heard of him in my life. I've never heard that name in my life. Never. Never. Well, he's a country star, and he is boyfriend to Julianne Hough, who is a professional dancer on Dancing with Stars, the blonde chick who you think farted in that one clip a while ago. But she quit. Yeah, she has her own country career and said that she wasn't going to come back this season. Julianne Hough? Yeah. I didn't think she farted. She farted. Let's please correct that one. So they will be dancing together this season. I know, but maybe if they said, hey, if you come back, if we let your boyfriend on the show, I don't know. He's not even a celebrity. Nobody's heard of him. We'll let you back if you quit dropping air biscuits all over the studio. Other celebrities are... Singer, Belinda Carlisle. Nice. Yeah. Actor and comedian, David Alan Greer. Oh, good. Yes. Oh, wow. He's going to win. Olympic athlete, Shawn Johnson. Shawn Johnson? Snowboarder guy? No. That's Shawn White, right? No. I think she's a girl. I think. Is she a gymnast? Yes. I believe so. Yes. Come on. Yes, she's like 17 years old. She's real good, Mike. Give us people who know. She's real good. Stars. I've heard of her. Singer, Lil Kim.
Oh, look, Kim. She's in jail? Oh, look, Kim. Yeah, wasn't she in jail? She was for a minute. She's out now. Do your crime, do your time, is what I say. That's what I've always tried to say. Actor Giles Marini. Excuse me? Giles Marini? He played Dante in the Sex and the City movie. I'm glad you said that. I don't know. What? Stars! Okay. Entertainment anchor, Nancy O'Dell. Oh, man. NFL star, Lawrence Taylor. Oh, no. LT? Oh, no. That's scary. The original LT? Wow. He's going to snort the dancer. Dude. Oh, man. He's going to smoker. Actress, Denise Richards. Ew. Oh, she's crazy. Wow. This is a trip. I will vote for her. She's a train wreck. Comedian and actor, Steve-O. Oh, yeah. This is going to be a train wreck. He and the back are going to be doing lines. Seriously, I already smell that something bad is going to happen. I know something bad is going to happen. And then finally, the lock to win the whole thing is computer icon Steve Wozniak. Are you serious? Enjoy. What is that? Steve Wozniak. He's the guy that invented Apple computers. That's Steve Jobs.
No, him and Steve Jobs, the two of them together. Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs invented it together. McIntosh computer. I don't know why that's funny. Did he date Kathy Griffin for a while? Yeah, but who hasn't? I heard he was Kathy Griffin for a while. Okay, you just made that up. That's a good stat. 570-1053 is our phone number. 570-1053. Give us a call at the beginning and end of every show. What's up? We had a P1 call in, and she was really, really upset. So she's just asking for all the P1s and everybody here just to send up some prayers. Aw, that's good. I'm glad. 570-1053 is our phone number. That's right. It was lonely. Ladies and gentlemen, Ayo is on the line. What's going on, Ayo?
Man, you know, I'm keeping it moving like you all. Oh, wow. What's up? Man, I got a PSA for all the waiters and waitresses out there. A PSA, a public service announcement. Got it. What do you got? Right on, brother. Anywho, when a guy and a girl whom are friends not dating go out to have dinner or lunch or something like that. Please stop giving a check to the man all the time. Oh, snap. Oh, tell us about it. Tell us about it. Man, check this out. So a brother and his homegirl, you know, we hanging out like a hubcap in a fast lane. You know, we all been trying to put the paint where it ain't. So we having lunch and all that. You know, the waiter comes over. Okay, cool. After your margaritas, here goes the check. Yes? And that upsets me. I'm like, dang, man, it's my old girl. Why you got to get a brother to check? That's right. Oh, no. That's right. Because then you look like a jerk if you're like, oh, so. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I look like no jerk. Hell no. I'm like, I'm not in my pocket. Shum on. That's right. Shum on. Shum on. Hey, so, yeah, that's what I'm saying. Waiters and waitresses, pardon my, you know, run on. But anywho. I got you. Be careful when y'all bringing a check.
You make sure you put it right in the middle. Quit pushing it to the brother side. Quit pushing it all the way to the brother side. Look at you. I love it. All right. Thank you, Ayo. Two fingers, spread them apart. Peace. Peace. P1 Baby Shaker is on the line. What's up, Baby Shaker? Okay. What's going on? See if you would have still had the same calmness flying that airplane. What would some of the thoughts be going through your head if you were the captain? Yeah, right. I would be praying. I would be... Where's the Ayo scream? Dude, for real. I would be freaking out, dude. If that was me, I don't know how the guy did it. Was his seat still dry? Right? That guy was. He's stone cold, man. This is... That's what I would have been doing. Right there. That would have been me. Yes. You know what I'm saying? Absolutely. Kind of cracking up there, Mike. That's right. I would have freaked out. Get on the loudspeaker. Attention, ladies and gentlemen. Thanks for the call. Let's see. California Kid is on the line and has something very important to tell us. Go ahead, California Kid. Hey, Mikey.
