The show moved from celebrity and sports news into two unusually heavy stories: Scott Russo's house fire prompted a Jason Mraz and Switchfoot benefit, while Jeremy Lusk's death prompted P1 Rob's fundraiser. Mikey used the allegations involving Chris Brown and Rihanna to argue that childhood abuse can explain learned behavior without excusing it, then disclosed his own therapy work and fear-driven parenting of Jake. In Cheaters Hotel, Heather's suspicion was confirmed when Zach picked ex-girlfriend Jill for a free Valentine's stay, and he defended himself by claiming they were not truly committed because he and Heather had not had sex. The comic side included the mangled romantic-movie quiz, Eddie mourning Brett Favre's retirement, a Mr. Peanut riff on the salmonella raid, the post-dentist child, Julio Acegueda's ecstatic question to Barack Obama, and the hosts' complaint that American Idol kept Tatiana for drama rather than talent.
What happened, in order
Unwritten Law fire benefit
Jason Mraz and Switchfoot rushed together a House of Blues benefit after Unwritten Law singer Scott Russo lost his uninsured family home, pets, and belongings in a fire.
Romance list goes rogue
The hosts turned Sky's list of romantic movies into a chaotic guessing game featuring everything from The Notebook and The Princess Bride to Silence of the Lambs and Return of the Jedi.
Jeremy Lusk benefit
After reporting motocross star Jeremy Lusk's death from a crash in Costa Rica, P1 Rob announced that his band Feeling of Hate would hold a Santee benefit for Lusk's family.
Explaining is not excusing
While discussing allegations that Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna, Mikey argued that witnessing childhood abuse can help explain repeated violence without excusing it or reducing the punishment owed.
Mikey meets little Mike
Mikey described a therapy exercise that exposed his childhood fear of being unsafe and connected it to his overprotectiveness toward his son Jake, including the time he punched himself after accidentally making the infan
Cheaters Hotel catches Zach
The show's fake hotel offer confirmed Heather's suspicions when Zach chose his ex-girlfriend Jill for a Valentine's stay, then claimed he and Heather were not truly committed because they had not had sex.
Favre retires again
Eddie reacted emotionally to breaking news that Brett Favre planned to retire from the Jets while the others teased him about whether this retirement would finally stick.
Peanut plant scandal
The hosts covered the deadly salmonella outbreak tied to Peanut Corporation of America, the filthy plant allegations, and an FBI raid over months of contaminated shipments.
Mr. Peanut calls in
A mock interview with Mr. Peanut turned the salmonella investigation into an absurd tale about an FBI raid, a confiscated monocle and top hat, and an invasive search.
Post-dentist viral kid
The crew played and delighted in the viral clip of a heavily medicated child asking whether this was real life after dental surgery.
Julio meets Obama
An ecstatic Julio Acegueda thanked Barack Obama at a town hall, asked about better benefits after four and a half years at McDonald's, and revealed his ambition to become a broadcaster or disc jockey.
Tatiana survives Idol
Eddie argued that American Idol kept the loudly emotional Tatiana because her crying and volatility made better television, not because she was one of the strongest singers.

6 in our phone line. If you're new to listen to the show, just know there's five of us. Me, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, and Boston Rock. And we even have P1 Quimby doing the phones for us and screening some phone calls for us. That's right. There she is. Hi, Quimby. Yeah, so get on it. 5701053. We definitively have a solution for the texts. And it'll be working here soon. We're getting it dialed in. We're getting it dialed in. It'll be up and running extraordinarily soon so you can start texting us again. Hip hip hooray! That's right. I don't know anything about it, but I want to find out about it from Sky, but apparently the Senate passed the stimulus plan. Basically means nothing. Why are you like this? So here's how it goes down. So the House passed their stimulus plan. Yes. And then it went to the Senate. All right. And the Senate was like, yeah, we're not so much into that and that part and that part. And we're going to move this part over here and Cherry's Jubilee. It's like Jenga. Yes. And then they passed that. So now we have a different version that has been passed in the House and the Senate.
So now the two have to agree on one version. That's never going to happen. And then that has to be passed. So this is a hurdle that we have, you know, crossed. This is good. This is a step in the right direction. But this still doesn't mean that we're ready to give out money yet. Well, just to kind of illustrate why this happens. Because a lot of people might say, hey, quit being such hardheads and just pass it already. The reason that it's tough is because if I am a, and they all know this, they've all experienced it. Let's say me and Skye, let's say Skye's in the House and I'm in the Senate. Okay, and we're both, we're senators and congressmen. Yeah, senators and congressmen, okay? And Skye is on board with all the Dems saying this is a good stimulus plan, okay? And I get it as a Republican, and it goes against a bunch of stuff that I'm into. But, but, I'm thinking in my head, but you know what? Let's just, it's good for the country to get something going. Right? I may think that. I may think it's good for the country, and I may want to, even though I don't necessarily agree, just pass it. You understand? Right. The problem is, is that that will come back.
To bite me in the tush. The tuchus. The tuchus. What? And the reason that it will is because at some point I may have higher political aspirations. For instance, I may want to run for president. And let's say Eddie's running against me and he goes, by the way, I just want to remind everybody. And he's a Republican just like me, right? And we're running against each other. He says, I just want to remind everybody how Mikey voted on that bill. You Republicans, I'm trying to get your votes. I just want to remind you that he voted with Sky, who's a dem. She's a liberal. Which is totally accurate, but I think that sucks so bad. I mean, I get it, but it sucks. That is the reason that California doesn't have a budget now. In my opinion, that is the sole reason that California doesn't have a budget and that we may not get our tax returns because the Republicans, we need money. We need money. The Republicans don't want to raise taxes. Because they don't want it to come back to Biden when they're up for re-election. And the Democrats don't want to cut services because they don't want that to come back to Biden. So everybody's just butting heads because they're concerned about their future. And we are suffering. California employees are losing jobs. The future is robots. I'll be in the future. We need a maverick to step in and just take care.
And he just did the Palin wink. How dare you? That's right. I wish we just had a maverick to get in there. Thank you, Mikey. You're welcome, Mr. McCain. Step up for the greater good. So, yeah, now the House and Senate have to come to some sort of agreement on all of this. And hopefully that'll be sooner than later. Yeah. I always thought that once it went from the House to the Senate, they can make their revisions, but it just goes right back to the House. It did, right? Well, it does, and now the House has to do their thing, and then it'll go back to the Senate, but they still have to finally agree on the same thing. You know what I mean? It's the final deal. At least we're making headway, though, right, guys? Hey, P1 Tim. How's it going? Good, man. Tell people maybe new to listen to this show. Tell them what a P1 is. A P1 is someone that listens to the Mikey show every morning. They don't cuss, and they just listen. Listen to the show all the time. Hey, listen. You're halfway there. Let me help you out a little bit. Okay. A Mikey Show listener, when they call the show and are on the air, they turn down the radio, they don't cuss, and they get to their point. All right. And listen, man.
That is the bottom line. That's the rules. So we always tell everybody, know the rules. P1s make other P1s, too. That's right. Like babies? Yes, exactly. That's right. It's got to grow up. Tim, where were you going to hit on? I was going to hit on the stimulus bill. What do you think? I know the Republicans are trying to save their butts. The Democrats are saving theirs. But we borrow more money than anyone else that we can't even pay back. And now we're going to borrow $800 billion more that we're never going to pay back, ever. Yeah, I mean, we're already really in debt. And I guarantee you, it may fix the problem for 30 years or whatever, but we're just going to be back in the same situation 30 years down the road. I'm cool with that. Where we're at right now, because what we're paying is $800 billion now. Yeah. All right. Well, I think that's a decent point. I think that that's a Republican point of view, and I know that Democrats feel differently. Democrats feel, you know, we've got to get this thing rolling.
And I try to think on both sides and everything. Well, Nancy Pelosi said each day we're losing 500,000 jobs. That's right. That's right. But no, she didn't. She said each month we're losing 500 million jobs. That's what she said. Really? That's what she said. Holy moly. I don't know how we do it. We have to do this quick. Yeah. We're like a... factory for it, you know? And then the other big thing that's out there is there was a benefit concert right here in San Diego last night at House of Blues. And Jason Mraz played, Switchfoot played, and it was for who, Sky? It was for the band Unwritten Law, their front man, Scott Russo. He actually lives or lived in Rancho Penasquitos. And on Friday, his house burned down. Luckily, all the family got out, but their pets didn't make it, and all their personal belongings were lost. I guess he grew up in that house in Rancho Penasquitos. He was raising his family in that house, and I guess his 15-year-old daughter accidentally put her hat on a lamp.
and it started a fire. And the reason they did the benefit last night at the House of Blues is because they didn't have any fire insurance. Oh, my gosh. I know, which is mind-blowing. So they had this benefit at House of Blues, and it was like a real last-minute thing. Like, it was last night, and tickets didn't even go on sale until Monday afternoon because it was such a last-minute thing. I guess ticket prices were between $50 and $75, and Jason Mraz and Switchfoot. which are both San Diego people groups, they put on the show. They had to do it real quick? Yeah, that's weird. Well, because the fire was on Friday, so they probably over the weekend got the plans together. They couldn't get the tickets together to get them on sale until Monday afternoon, and then the show was last night. Hopefully they can maybe do another one that's a little better. Yeah, because if people would have known, the first thing I was hearing about this morning, if we knew about this yesterday, we totally would have talked about it and pumped it up. But, I mean, maybe it was a sellout. I don't know. I didn't hear about it until this morning. I kind of have a connection with John Foreman. All right, Cheryl. The Foreman Grill. Is that who that is? The Sausage King of Chicago? Yeah. Yes. No, Foreman Appliances. You know, Foreman Appliances. No, no, no, no. The lead singer for Switchfoot. Oh, that's different.
And so I'm going to say, hey, dude, if you need help talking about a concert or a benefit or something, you know? Yeah, you want me to come and, you know, introduce the bands and do a little of my stand-up in between? I don't know about that. I don't know about that one. I don't think that's what Mike was saying. I wasn't, actually. You don't know that one. Anything to help, guys. Anything. Hey, check it out. Before 7.30 this morning. we're going to be giving away NASCAR tickets to go to Fontana. How about that? Yeah, to go to Fontana. If you would like, we're going to be doing that. Back up the RVs. That's right. Oh, you have a fancy RV. It's actually his voice. No, he actually has to yell that out the window. He doesn't have a fancy RV. It really does. So we'll be giving those away. And also... We are going to be sending two couples to dinner at the Pamplemousse Grill for Valentine's Day. Oh, make a little romance. That's right. And so if you would like to win, all you need to do is go to MikeyShow.com. And the directions are there. And it'll tell you what to do. Just go to MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com.
And it will get you all dialed in on how that works. LaDainian Tomlinson came on the show one time and said that Grey's Anatomy is his favorite show. That's true, he did. He said it's his favorite show and that he watches it like he can't miss an episode. And so he might be a little bummed out to hear that apparently one of the stars of the show is saying that a couple of other stars... are leaving the show. What else can happen to LT? I know it. I know it. Leave him alone. I know. That's weird. Yeah, so Dr. Richard Weber from Grey's Anatomy. Do you know who that is, Ashley? His real name's James Pickens. Dr. Weber? Yeah, I don't know. You don't know who that is? Uh-uh. No. Yeah, I don't know. I just, he's been on 91 episodes, they say. So I guess he seems like he's probably been on every episode. But he's a cast member. He's an African-American gentleman, older. Oh, he's probably the chief. With the grayish. He's the chief. Okay. I've never seen the show, but he's my favorite character. Shut up.
Oh, love his work. Yes, I do. Absolutely. Never seen it. Never seen one episode. Love his work. Absolutely love it. You can have my number, baby. Oh, thank you. Love it. So he was doing an interview. And to me, it sounds like he was probably talking out of school a little bit. And the people at Grey's Anatomy probably won't be very happy that this is all in the news this morning. You know, Katherine Heigl, who has, you know, her little movie career going, has been rumored to be wanting to leave Grey's Anatomy for a while. Well, plus everybody hates her. That is not true. That is not true. 100% true. So, you know, Dr. Weber was doing this interview, and he was asked about Katherine Heigl possibly leaving Grey's Anatomy, and he said, yes, she is leaving the show. Oh, really? And then he also went on to say that T.R. Knight, who is another actor on the show, and he's actually BF's in real life with Katherine Heigl. George and Izzy. George and Izzy. Okay. He directed those movies like Sixth Sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm familiar. M. Knight. Oh, no, no, no, no. This is the black rapper.
That's gigantically huge, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that's T.I. T.I. Knight. No, no. So he says that T.R. is leaving the show as well. Whoa! According to him, two major cast members are leaving Grayson. Man, I don't know that. Who cares? That is shocking. Cannot win with them. That's right. That's right. 570-1053 is our number if you want to give us a call. Let's see. You guys want to do a list? Yeah. I have a list of Hollywood's most bankable stars. Oh. What does that mean? Hollywood's meaning that if you hire these people to star, to be the lead in your movie, you're going to make some dough. Got it. Casey Affleck. That's right. Val Kilmer. Yeah. Brangelina. That's right. Brangelina. Either or. Is that a person? Either or. Brad Pitt is number four and Angelina Jolie is number five. Will Smith. Tom Cruise. Will Smith is number one, Mike. Look at that. Guy opens movies. Guy opens movies. Jennifer Aniston. Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp is number two. Oh. So you guys are only missing number three now. Oh, we are. Well, hold on a second here. You guys are on fire today. I know who it is. It's Reese Witherspoon. No.
George Clooney. PR Knight Shyamalan when he makes his appearances in the movie. Julia Roberts. It's a little obscure. Cameron Diaz. It's a little obscure. Hey, I just don't want to stay inside the box, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't want to limit myself. Will Ferrell. Tom Skerritt. Tom Skerritt. Please, answer me. Is he on there? Of course not. What do you mean of course not? I don't even know who that is. Scarlett Johansson. I guess you don't like Top Gun. What about Scarlett Johansson? Tom Cruise. I already said that. Sorry, I didn't mean to be. Ryan Phillips. How? I'm sorry, Quimby. Are you okay? I didn't mean to drop a nuclear bomb on your head. My bad. Sorry about that. Are you okay? Guys. Kermit the Frog. Yeah. I love movies. But no. He's not on him? No, that was a huge hit. Come on. That was a huge hit. What about the old guys that sit up in the balcony? Yeah. The critics. Yeah, they're great. Yeah, they're awesome. The critics. Gonzo. What is he, anyways? Good question. I would say Danny. People are calling. People are calling. Mikey Show. I have a guess. Go ahead. Go ahead. Is it... Who?
David Hasselhoff? David Hasselhoff. Sky, check the list. Come on. Sure, he's on there. Ricky Schroeder? Relax. I don't know. I don't know. Eddie, Eddie, the reason she didn't know is because it's Rick Schroeder. Denzel Washington. Rick Schroeder. I do apologize. And then put it on the board. I do apologize. No, Denzel. No. Oh, uh, Lark Voorhees. Who is that? That's fantastic. 100 points. That's fantastic. Who is that? Lark Voorhees from Saved by the Bell. Lisa Turtle. That was ridiculous. Ladies and gentlemen. That was ridiculous. Take that. Oh, guys. Gina Gershon. That's a guy. Skye? She's not even looking at the list. Did you check? I don't need to check the list. Why? Because this is a big name star. Naomi Watts. You said Gina Gershaw. Orlando Bloom. Leonardo DiCaprio. Yeah. Number three is Ashley's BF, sweet Leo. Yeah. How could you not know your best friend was on the list? He's going to be devastated, Ashley, when he hears that. I'll call him later and I'll explain. We got all the top ones, right? Tom Hanks was on the list? No.
Really? No. When was the last time he was in a movie? That's true. When was the last time he was in a movie? Oh, he's in a new movie. He's coming out in Angels and Demons. And I watched Forrest Gump yesterday, so that should count. That's a good movie. That should count. That's a good movie. Eddie and I saw that at the Trolley 8 movie theater when it first came out in 92. 92? No. Yeah. Was it? No. No, because we weren't here. 95. I was like, yeah. 95. And we saw it with our roommate, Locke Tran. Yeah. And I'll never forget this one. You can't just make a name. When we left the theater after Forrest Gump. Went to Ohio State. You don't have to be so racist. What's your problem? Not everybody can have a cool name like you. That's right. Come on. Anyway, I'll never forget walking out of the theater and Locke saying, eh, that was all right. Oh, Locke. Oh, Locke. Dude, that was Forrest Gump. That was huge. I remember thinking, well. I know this is a new movie and everything. It's good. Who would say that? That was really good. I was like, really? It's infuriating. I bet he would still say it to this day. I mean, do you remember? Captain Dan with the legs? Oh, Captain Dan. Lieutenant Dan.
Yeah. Whatever, dude. It was great. I mean, the technology to eliminate legs. It was amazing. Thank you. How they did it, I'll never know. Forest standing there with Richard Nixon. Right, the Watergate. Oh, dude. Man, that's technology. That's right. It wasn't for Forest. P1 Rob. Hey, Mikey, what's up? Hey, what's up, dude? Hey, you know what, man? I see what you got here, and I think that's really cool. Eddie is actually going to be mentioning. Jeremy coming up in sports. And so can we get your number and we'll call you back and talk to you about it when Eddie mentions it in sports? Sure. Right on, dude. Hang on just a second. Quimby, can you get his number? And yeah, when we come back and Eddie does some sports, we'll do that. We have a huge show today. Oh. Tyrone and Tortilla may be making a stop by today. I beg your pardon. That's right. I like this. Well, they're a couple of good guys, man. They are. Okay. And big hearts. That's right. Really? Big hearts. All right. Big hearts. Big hearts, big farts is their motto. That's their motto. I don't think that's right. That's right. That's no one's motto. They always say that. And then because it's Valentine's Day, yeah, that's right. Little Cheaters Hotel, you know, kind of, you know, yes. Just healing the community, bringing it all together. That's right. Okay. Don't forget the giveaway that we're doing that you go to MikeyShow.com. Find out more about.

Oh, man. You're welcome. Wow. That was awkward. That was really awkward. She's great. She's great. She's great. She's great. So, there it is. I think you got it. Okay. All right. So go to MikeyShow.com and check that out. This is what we are going to do. First of all, I need to let you know, embrace yourselves, the cost of stamps is going up again. Again? I'm fine with that. Get rid of mail. Get rid of mail. The cost of stamps. But I just bought some. I know. You just got the forever stamps. That's right. Didn't it just go up? It did. Leave it alone, Eddie. It just went up. It just went up. Is this going to cure the deficit? Why do you stay me alone? Is this going to make us so we can have mail on Saturday? What's going on? Sky, get rid of it. Why are you yelling at me? Come on, Sky, we've got to defend the mail. Good riddance. The world is better off without you. Thank you. Ever see that Kevin Costner movie, The Postman? Yeah. There you go. Think about that. Why don't you let that resonate in you a little bit? What if I've only seen Tim Cop?

You ever see anybody go, hey, before we leave, let's get one of those pianos. They're only a million dollars. I like to go in the greeting card stores. I think they're interesting because they kind of, greeting cards really reflect, you know, what people are saying to each other. The style of the greeting cards, the communications. There's a section now in every greeting card store I've been in lately where they have greeting cards with no printing on the inside, though. I mean, this is a comment. No words, no message, nothing.

We've got South 15 now seeing those brake lights out of Escondido off to 78 down to around Felicita. And then you're pretty much on your way. Busy back up on the bridge, though, getting into Coronado. That's spilling under the 5. Heavy brake lights on both sides of the 5 getting to the bridge. So you might want to give yourself some extra time if you're heading onto the island this morning. And an earlier accident still wrapping up here on the South 15 past Market Street. So use some caution there. Border wait is about an hour and a half already at San Isidro. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Ladies and gentlemen.

But I would like to show you how that was supposed to sound right now when we came out of commercials. We're going to practice. Because I did it
Incorrectly. Okay. You're so cute. Okay. Hey, Ash, there's a blank spot on the front page. Can you put any rejoiner in there? Any rejoiner? And I'm now going to show the audience my mistake and how it should have sounded and how in the future it should sound this way. And if it doesn't, then we will give somebody a prize. If I don't do it this way. 30 break. This is the way it's supposed to be done. Yes. Okay, here we go. At 30 minutes after every hour on the Mikey Show, we are doing a feature called the Mikey Show 360. And we even have a very well-produced open for it. Yeah, we're like that. Yeah. And you're going to hear that open in just a second. In fact, you should have heard that open just a moment ago. But you didn't. Instead, out of the rejoiner, I did this. Which I love. I love this song. It's great, but I wasn't supposed to do that. So now let's have it like it should sound. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I got a two-year-old son. I have a wife named Rebecca.
Eddie. Daddy had some drinks. That's right. Sky. You know, because I don't buy dessert, because I shouldn't eat dessert. Boston Rob. I'm a romantic. I can't help that. And Ashley. Wake up! The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. With the top news stories of the day, this is The Mikey Show 360. I like that. That sounds hot. That's spicy. Well, that is hot. That really works good. Yeah. That's hot. That's just gorgeous. It's just gorgeous. Now, a lot of people ask themselves, okay, you made a big deal out of it. What is the Mikey Show 360? It's everything going on, dude. It's the hot stuff.
It's the hot stuff of the day. It's what's new, what's hot, what's going on. It's cooking good looking. That's right. I've heard that. I have heard that. You know, for instance, I said when we came back, we were going to tell you about these stamps. So we'll tell you about the stamps. These stupid stamps are going on. No, everyone calm down. I quit mail. I know it. No, you quit mail. I quit it. We want you back. No, I don't accept. Who's we here? Dude. In the mail. I'm so sick of it. What is the deal, Skye? How much now? Well, stamps will be going up by two cents. Really? Really? $0.44 a stamp starting in May. That's okay. I'm fine with that. I bet that sounds like fun. That's crazy, man. Here is what I am going to do because, you know, I am a cheapo. I am going to go out prior to May 11th and buy me... A buttload of forever stamps. That's a good idea. Smart. I have some. The forever stamps last forever, and they never change the price. You buy them at one price, and it never changes regardless of what the government does. Rob says to me, I have some. Like, he's all stocked up. And I said, how many do you have? And he says, 12. No, Rob, I'm talking about buying books upon books. That'll last you. Skye, how much is a book of forevers? Well, a forever stamp is 42 cents.
stamp is whatever the current price of a stamp is, but it will be honored forever. I know, but how much do you pay to buy that? I paid eight something for mine. Is it like 860 for a book? I'm not sure. I think it's somewhere around there. You can get different sizes. Yeah, but it's 42 cents a stamp. But the forever stamps will still be good even when they keep raising those prices. Well, I tell you what, man. You really do have to do some mathematics here because you're like, okay, we just went up two cents. Over the course of the next 15 years, how much is it going to go up? Is this going to be worth it? Well, they say that the increase in price will cost the typical family about an extra $3 a year. I'm fine with that. Is what they're claiming. An extra $3 a year. Buy a bunch of those stamps and then jack up the prices and sell them. Out of your trunk? Why do you think I bought them?
Starting a new business. Smart. One step ahead of the game. That's right. I put your email on the business, though. Oh, wait. I don't check my emails. So you have until May 11th to get in on those forever stamps before the price goes up to 44 cents a stamp. And honestly, everyone should have stamps. You should always have stamps on hand, whether you keep them in your car like I do. Why? Because you made a stamp. You never know when you're going to mail something from your car. And we've discussed it, man. What do we use the stamps for? Well, Rob uses it for everything. See, a lot of people do the online banking. You don't need any of the stamps. Unless you're writing your grandmother a letter. She would like to hear from you. Final died. 570. Way to go, Rob. Too soon, Rob. You can still write already. You can still write. I don't really know what that means. That is the creepiest thing you said in a while. You just kind of freak me out. 570-1053 is our number if you want to give us a call. And, oh, Sky has a list of the most romantic movies. Here we go. Valentine's Day this weekend. You may want to rent one of these puppies. Let me get on some romantic music here. You ready? Okay. Here we go.
Let's do, where is it? Where's my romantic? Oh, here we go. That's beautiful. It's great. Silence of the Lambs. That's right. Whoa! Silence of the Lambs. Eddie. No, this is the most romantic movie of all time. Eddie really meant to say The Notebook. No, I did not. Yes, Eddie, your favorite tearjerker is number 10 on the list. Is it really? The Notebook. Titanic's got to be number one. Eight Mile. Eight Mile is number two. Yeah. Eight Mile, I will take a guess, number two. Good Will Hunting. No. Sky is Titanic number one. Titanic's not on the list, Mike. What? Well, I shouldn't say it's not on the list. It's not in the top ten. Oh, no. That's crazy. Yeah, not in the top ten. Love Actually. The Champ. These are romantic movies. The Champ has got to be on that list. No, no, no. Champ? I'd love to see that. You'll cry. Sweet Home Alabama. You will cry. You will cry. You will cry. My best friend's wedding. I guess I'm going to cry. Is it stupid Nora Ephron movies? Pretty Woman. Sweet Home Mississippi. Is it stupid Nora Roberts books? These are movies, Rob. Is it like all those You Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle and all that stuff? The Believers. When Harry Met Sally. I'm sorry. It's not a very romantic film. Well, Rob, number four is When Harry Met Sally. Oh, boy. Yes. Romantic comedy. Not the other ones, though, right? Nope. Not the other ones you mentioned. No, You Got Mail.
But if you know Sleepless in Seattle, it will lead you to the number nine answer. You got herpes. Yes! That's on the list. Cast away. Gorgeous. Joe versus the volcano. You are so stupid. Why? Turner and Hooch. Kramer versus... Don't do it. Return of the Jedi. That's a great love story. Han Solo and Princess Leia... you know, declare their love for each other. Remember when he said to her, you know, like, you know, he's like, what did he say to her in the hallway there of ice? He goes, you're turned on by me. Isn't that what he said? And she's like, no, I'm not. You gruff, you scruffy, nerf herder. Yeah. I love that scene. That's a good one. This is really loving. That was a pirate. P1 is Eddie. You're such a nerd. P1 Jeff has a guess. Jeff, what's your guess? Top five. I love you, Sean.
Oh, great movie. Do you guys remember I Love You, Sean, Too Soon? That was the sequel. No, that was I Am Sam. Oh, yeah, that's right. That's right. It's the same thing. That's right. Let's see. Oh, Days of Thunder. Days of Thunder. Gorgeous. Days of Thunder. I was just going to say that. That is creepy. You are creepy. What lies beneath? Oh, yeah. Absolutely. They were in love. Remember, P1 Scooby is on the line. What's up? love story of Leatherface and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Which one? The new, the remake? Then you're right. That's right. The one with Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger. Fred Savage and Little Monsters. Stupid. Nodding Hill? Oh, that's ridiculous. Ashley, can you be for real? Nights in Rodanthem. Just the fact that you pronounced that correctly. Oh, he did? Oh, please. That's how you pronounce that? I am guessing it's said perfectly. It's a little creepy. Miller's Crossing. All right, what are we, Eddie? That was a weird guess. Godfather. Keanu Reeves. The Accused. Where he uses a mailbox to travel through town. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. No.
It won that bike club. Somewhere in time. That's weird that Keanu Reeves does a lot of time traveling. Yes, I said somewhere in time. Where's the Rachmaninoff? How do we not have the Rachmaninoff? We've got to get it. Sky, what are we missing? What do we not have? It's Sandra Bullock, not Speed. He already named it for you, Cloud. What did you say? Somewhere in Time. That's what it's called? No, no, no. That's not what it's called. Sandra Bullock wasn't in Somewhere in Time. Oh, no, no. No, it's where they used the mailbox and the Keen song. Yeah, Lakeview Terrace. The Lakehouse. The Lakehouse. The Lakehouse. The Lakehouse. The Lakehouse. Lakeview Terrace. There it is. I love that promo. P1 Sticks lover. King Kong. Well, you just said what I was thinking. Lakehouse. Oh. I watched half of that. You were gay. P1 Sierra. I'm going to say Ghost. Oh, great. Good guess. So good, but no. P1 Harold. Hey, guys. How's it going? Good, man. What do you think? Don't say over the top. I'm making the guess. It was P1 Sinjaya told me to call in and say this, but the notebook. The notebook, yeah. And he already cried about it. It was number 10. I did not cry. P1, no thank you. Clockwork Orange. Oh, great love story. Between a man's eyeballs.
and those things. Is it romantic movies of all time or romantic comedies? It's romantic movies, but there are romantic comedies. Okay, so Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Yeah, clearly. That's right. That's right. I think that that should be... Class of the Titans. Oh, yeah. Remember the Titans? That's an actual movie? You had me at Hello? What about Jerry Maguire? That's just a random guess. I have a random guess. Jerry Maguire. Is that on there? Hope Floats. Wow. That just came to me. How dare you knowing that? Fried Green Tomatoes. P1 Utility Worker. That's a movie. P1 Utility Worker. Are you there? Brokeback Mountain. So romantic. So romantic. Me too. 50 First Dates. No. Great movie, though. Lord of the Rings, Return of the Key. Yes. Put it on the board. P1BPBM. P1BPBM. Okay. It's for a broken down piece of meat. Awesome. I love it. The Wrestler. Oh, yeah. What is your guess? What is your guess? It's The Wrestler. Oh, it's a gorgeous love story. It ends so sad. It's just so beautiful and sad. I bet you it's a bunch of old movies. Romeo and Juliet?
That we don't. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's it. Oh, Gone with the Wind. No. Yeah, yeah. What's... Pretty in Pink. What are those old... Breakfast Club. Some kind of wonderful. 60 Candles. Yes, Eddie. 16 Candles is number seven. In your face. Ridiculous. In your face. That's ridiculous. Uncle Buck. Yeah. What? Dude. Yeah. I own it. Is Uncle Buck on there? I own it on GBD. Great Outdoors. Yeah. Honeymoon in Las Vegas. Indecent explosion. High fidelity. Over this list. Is that what you were trying to come up with? Yeah. One of Rob's latest parody songs that he's been singing references this movie. Anyone? What? Wait. I don't know. Rob does parodies? What do we get? Number nine, An Affair to Remember. Oh, yeah. That's these kind of movies, and we're never going to get them. Number eight? What's that? Out to Africa? Out of Africa. Number six is Out of Africa. Those are two of my dad's favorite movies. Those two movies you just mentioned. Out of Africa. Like, if you ask him, what's your favorite movies? He'll say, An Affair to Remember, Out of Africa. He's a romantic. Love Story? Is that?
Love story? I don't know what you're saying. I love you. Yes, I love you. Thank you. Yes, I love you. Endless love. Oh, yeah. Mike, play the song. Mike, sing the song. Now we have to. Only if you sing it with me, if you do the duet. Of course I would. Will you be my... It would be an honor. Do you know the words? I don't need to. I don't need to. I don't need to. I'll be Lionel. I'll be Lionel. You'll be Diana Ross. And if you don't know, just make it up. I love Lionel. There's only you. Oh, should I do it? Should I do it like Lionel? You're going to do it like you want to do it, buddy. Come on. This is your moment. That's Lionel? This is you, Ash. You're with me. You know the word. She doesn't. It's got to mix it with double. Save her that. Thank you so much. Yeah. Save her that. Forever. Yeah. Forever. Thanks. All right. Well, number eight was Moonstruck. Wait. Number eight was Moonstruck. Oh, it was? Number five. What is that? A Fish Called Wonder. Cher, Nick Cage. Number five, The Princess Bride. Really? Oh, come on. Yeah, Princess Bride. You can't just throw your own in there. You know what I mean? Really? Really? The one where, what's the movie where Dustin Hoffman plays a chick? Great movie. Tootsie. Yeah, that's Tootsie. Tootsie. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's about the transvestite who farted all the time. Is that on the list? Mikey's show continues on The Rock. Hi, welcome to Coffee Rama. How may I help you? Went to Frog's Fitness yesterday, and it was another great day. Wendy is my trainer, and she's incredible. She's a great trainer. We were working on my core. Boston Rob, you know all about this. The core, that's a big thing, right? Dude, you get that solid and man, the rest just comes easily. It was cool too because she was having me do this exercise and she's really good about describing exactly how she wants your body positioned. So she was like, I want you to mentally pretend that you're standing in cement up to your waist.
And that's key, dude. And that's key for working out because I've had trainers that, I don't want to say showed me the wrong way, but didn't explain it as thoroughly. So when I went and did it on my own, I started doing stuff wrong, which is just a horrible way to work out. So that is so clutch if someone can explain it good. It was cool, man, because once she said that, she was like, you feel it? And I was like, oh, yeah. That's what's great, man. I mean, they got great people, knowledgeable people at Frogs Fitness, and I'm losing weight. I mean, that's the bottom line is that I'm losing weight. And I'm, you know, I'm gaining muscle mass, and I'm starting to get muscles. And that's cool. So if you're looking for a gym right now, Frogs Fitness. Check them out online, frogsfit.com. To Mikey. When I was a kid, no supervision. I just, I wasn't supervised and I was free to watch whatever I wanted. Eddie. Yes, Mike, I have a gambling problem. No. Come on, Mike. And to NASCAR. Tickets to NASCAR. Would you like, would you like to go see the NASCAR race in Fontana? Heck yeah. Yeah, if you would, call us right now at 570-1053. We're going to be playing Lyrical Gangsta.
Lyrical Gangsta is the game that we play where all you need to know is the lyrics to songs. If you're pretty good at knowing the lyrics to songs, then you're going to do very well. So 570-1053, and it's tickets to the Fontana race. Now, with the top sports stories of the day, it's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. Oh, looky here. Doesn't everybody have a comment about... A-Rod. Obviously, that's still the biggest story going on in sports. Everybody talking about A-Rod and his situation, including Yankees captain Derek Jeter, who had this to say about A-Rod. Last year, I'm sure you go back, it was something. The Yankees, it knows the story at some point. You know what I mean? So I think a lot of the guys that have been here are pretty much used to it. I mean, not something at this level, but they're used to answering questions about some other things. Once baseball activities begin, hopefully we'll put them out behind us. Ah, sounds supportive. Yeah, that is not the most supportive thing in the world. They're not the best of friends. No. And another big question is how is this affecting A-Rod's fans and the youth, and how are they going to look at baseball players now? And A-Rod grew up in Florida, and that's where he played his baseball, so they asked a bunch of Florida high school players what they think of A-Rod.
He's denied taking steroids before, so it kind of makes him a liar, which definitely affects my opinion on him. The numbers of athletes that we can look up to are dwindling. I do not want to be like anyone who uses steroids. If you have a specific major league player or something like that, you should look up to him. If there's not a reason not to look up to him, I think you should look up to him until there is a reason. So he's saying, yeah, I was down with A-Rod until two days ago. I looked up to him until two days ago. Oh, well. A-Rod's losing fans, man. Oh, boy. One fan he's not going to lose is his high school coach who spoke about the situation. Well, I think he'll rebound because look at all the things that he's been through so far. And he's also been in New York for several years now. And he's always risen above those things. But internally, you can't erase these things. So it will affect him in his personal experience.
view of himself and people's view of him. But in his baseball career, I don't think it's going to affect how he plays the game. I don't think it's going to make a difference. In fact, I know he's going to, if I know him at all, he's going to even work harder to prove, you know, to people that he can do it the right way. What do you think of that, Eddie? I think it's, you know, it's tough, man, because, you know, I feel for A-Rod, you know, I feel bad that, you know, he's... His legacy is going to be tarnished now and all these things. And I feel like, you know, he can rebound, you know, if if he continues to play well and things like that, then I don't know that questions are going to arise because he can't be thought of as using steroids anymore because he's under the microscope. Yeah. So, you know, we're a very forgiving country. We're very, you know, we forget things very quickly. So I think that. we will be able to move on from this, but it's going to be tough, man. It's going to be a long time before that happens. People have it in their heads. Absolutely. Yeah, I agree. It should be interesting. The hits keep on coming for baseball. All-star shortstop Miguel Tejada has been charged with lying to congressional investigators about steroids, and he's scheduled to make an appearance in court today where he's expected to plead guilty.
Really? Yeah. Now, this is a misdemeanor charge because it's not like you're lying to a grand jury. Yeah. He was just lying to investigators, which I guess is not a felony. It's a misdemeanor. So he'll probably get probation and all that stuff. But, I mean, just talk about a black eye in baseball. It is brutal right now. Yeah. You had a bunch of guys that were, like, scared and just chose the wrong way, I guess, to go with their fear. Right. And this wasn't even about himself. Yeah. This was about his teammates that apparently he lied about. Yeah. Wasn't there an interview a little while back where he was on it and it got real weird? And he walked off. Yeah. Because I remember seeing that and it was just like, oh, dude, you knew something was going on. Right. Is that why he walked off and started getting about steroids? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Obviously doesn't want to talk about it. The Padres finally did make a trade for former number one pick Matt Bush. They sent him to the Blue Jays for cash. and a player to be named later. So Matt Bush is gone. We talked about this a couple times this week. Very sad story. Local X Games star Jeremy Lusk died from injuries in Costa Rica where he was attempting a trick. He didn't complete it and died from his injuries.
Really sad story. Motocross world is in shock and devastated by this. We actually have somebody on the line that knows a little bit about a benefit that's going to be going on for Jeremy, and it's P1 Rob. Rob, are you there? Yes, I am. So what can you tell us? Well, my band Feeling of Hate is putting on a benefit show at the Second Wind Bar. And Santee on Tuesday, February 24th. And all of our proceeds are going to the Lusk family. That's awesome, man. That's great. And did you know, Jeremy? Well, of course, I'm a desert rat. We're out there riding every now and then. We bump into each other. But we support all our freestylers, my band and I. And, you know, and Metal Militia. I mean, those guys have a lot of heart to do what they do. And it's like, we're... Our heart was in our throat when we found out Jeremy died. Our prayers are with his family and him. For sure, man. For sure. Just a sad, sad deal. You know, the guy was just a great, what he did, he was just great at what he did. Yeah. He was a pioneer at doing sick trips, you know. Well, I appreciate it, man. And one more time, give out that info one more time. Okay, February 24th, Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, at Second Bar.
Second Wind Bar in Santee, Feeling of Hate, is putting on a benefit show. All right. And all of our proceeds will go to the Lust family, and they can do either, you know, donate it to the athletic fund or whatever they need to do with it. And how much are you charging for that? I believe $10 at the door. That's cool. Great. That's cool, man. Hopefully you get a lot of people in there. I hope so, too. Hey, man, we appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you. All right, man, we'll see you. All right. We do have NASCAR tickets to give away to the Fontana race. Now, the Mikey Show presents the search for the truth behind the words, the logic behind the lyrics. It's time to play Lyrical Gangster. I love Lyrical Gangster. Oh, man. Okay, so it's a category. It's a category game, so you get to pick. A category that you feel that you're good at, but the bottom line is, do you know lyrics? How well do you know the lyrics of songs? And that's a whole deal. You just have to know them well. P1 Abby is on the line. Abby, can you hear me? Yep. How are you doing? I'm good this morning. You know the lyrics of songs pretty good? I think so. Okay, good. I am going to give you three categories. Okay.
And then we'll give you a question about those lyrics. You have, in the name of love, which is love songs, legends, or songs from movie soundtracks. Let's do the love songs. Oh, Abby. Look at you. In the song, You're the Inspiration by Chicago. Oh, nice. He says, and I know, yes, I know that it's plain to see. We're so in love when we're what? Abby. Oh, Abby. Abby. You didn't say ancient love songs. Oh, please. How dare you. Please. We're so in love when we're together. Oh, listen. Get it. Get it. Oh, yeah. Synthesized voice to you. I love you. That's good stuff. He's so gorgeous. Oh, yeah. If you don't like Chicago, I don't know. I'll tell you what. Sorry about that, P1 Abby. Try next time. Hey, P1 Shauna, how you doing? I'm good. How are you? Very good. Very good. I got three categories for you. Are you ready? Yeah. Songs for movie soundtracks and the name of love, which is love songs and legends. Okay, love songs. Oh, look at you. Oh, really? Oh, Valentine's Day. Everybody's in love. Here is...
So weird. Why does Ashley have to end every one of them? I don't know. Your love songs question is, in the song, You're Still the One by Shania Twain. Yes. She says, they said, I bet they'll never make it. But just look at us holding on. We're still together. We're still going. What? What was that? He's singing the song. He loves it. He knows everywhere. Who's a sucker for Shania? You know what I mean? Just a sucker for the Shania song. I can't help it. Shauna, you win NASCAR tickets with that. Man, I feel like a woman. Okay. All right. All right. If you want Rob. Yeah. Rob, how you doing, man? I'm great. Not too bad. No, no. Different Rob. Rob, what do you do for a living? I'm in the Navy. Look at you, man. How long have you been in there? 14 years. 14.
What rank are you? There you go. Is that it? That's enlisted. There you go, buddy. Look at me knowing a little bit about the Navy. There you go. There you go. That's right. My pop was in there for a long time. All right. Here's your categories. Legends, songs from movie soundtracks, or In the Name of Love. What about the movie soundtrack? You got it. You want to do love songs too, buddy? No way. Here is your songs from movie soundtracks question. In the song Purple Rain by Prince from the movie Purple Rain. Oh, yeah. He says, I never meant to cause you any sorrow. I never meant to cause you any one. Come on. Oh, yeah. Why did it have to end? Why did it have to end? Why did it have to end? You won, dude. You're going to NASCAR. Hang on the line, bro.
Let's see. P1. Amy, are you there? I'm here. Amy, how old are you? I am 33. What do you do for a living? I sell dog food. Do you really? Awesome. That's cool. Good for you. I work for Natural Balance. It's my favorite kind of dog food. Wow. You eat dog food, Ashley? You're a great woman. Ashley thinks it's delicious. I just want you to know. No, Sammy, it's like the best food that Sammy digests. It works out real good for her. All right. Gas. All right. Gas. Okay. Thanks, Mama. What are we talking about here? Talking healthy dog food or something? Is that the deal? Is it organic? Get the chicken rice and oatmeal, you know. Is it organic? It's real good for you. We have an organic formula, I guess. Oh, come on. There you go, Rob. It's a dog. You need the organic. What is that? Why does a dog eat chemicals? Sammy has allergies to food. They like chemicals. And she has gas. Sammy does not have allergies to food. She doesn't have allergies to food. She doesn't. She doesn't. Why don't you talk to the vet then? I think the allergy is. You are not the vet. I think the allergy is food makes her hungry. You know what I mean? That's what the allergy is. She's fat. That's right. No! She's working on it. Do you know what, Amy?
Your categories are songs for movie soundtracks, In the Name of Love, and Legends. Well, I'm going to go with Legends because Bah Humbug on Love. There you go. Oh, no. Now, wait a second. Oh, I feel so bad. Wait a second. What is causing this pain inside of you? Do you have a boyfriend? I do. You do? Does he suck? No, he's listening, so I can't think. Oh. But he gets the hint. Yeah, he gets it. You jerk. Step it up, buddy. No, he's a good guy. He won. What's his name? Give him a shout. Brent. Oh, wow. Brent. Come on, Prince. She is not to be so enthused. Call Pro Flowers, bro. Yeah, tell him. You tell him, Eddie. No, figure it out. That's right, dude. Send a pajama, Grant. Get on it, will you? Yeah. Give her the midnight oil or whatever. Yeah, yeah, Skye, get the same slinky pajamas Skye got. No, it's like a burka, Mike. Skye, what's the name of that wetsuit you ordered?
Midnight dip. Midnight fantasy. Hot. That sounds hot. Thank you. It's not. It is. You don't know. The midnight coveralls. It's called the sexy pilgrim. Picture a Thanksgiving dinner back in the day. Shut up. It's a lot sexier. Slinky potato sack. Can we just play the game? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. All right, your categories are legends. Thank you. She took legends. Legends. Oh, you did? Yeah, I remember. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's do it. Let's do it. All right, your legends lyrical gangsta question is, in the song, your song, by Sir Elton John. Love it. Sir Elton John. He says, I don't have much money, but boy, if I did, I'd buy a big house where we both could what? What? You are a winner on the line. Love the alien platform. Good call. Good call. We've got the South 15 pretty jammed up now out of Escondido off to 78 down to Villarancho Parkway. Cruising though once you get over Lake Hodges. Really no worries down the coastline. Maybe a minor delay South 5 through Encinitas, but not too bad really. East County is moving well. The westbound 8 is looking good. The 94, a little bit slow in the downtown. I would do anything. And Ashley. I didn't even go to San Diego State. I did. I practically graduated. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. The top news stories of the day. This is the Mikey Show 360. I promise. So close. Yeah. I almost had it. Just a second off. I almost had it. I gotta hit listen every day.
At 30 minutes after the hour, we're going to do the Mikey Show 360. It's my idea. I can't get it right. I can't get it right. Listen, what is the Mikey Show 360? Well, the idea is that we go over all the stuff that we want to talk about. We go over all the stuff that's big. You know, big news out there. People are talking about it. It's the water cooler stuff that's on people's mind. Today, one of the biggest deals is the Chris Brown story. Man, this thing just keeps spiraling, huh? Yeah. I mean, we're finding out new stuff like every day. Yeah. If you didn't hear, Chris Brown is accused of allegedly assaulting Rihanna the night before the Grammys. They were leaving a Grammy after party a few miles away. Pull over the car. They get into it on the side of the street. Rihanna allegedly had contusions to her face, a bloody nose, a split lip. And so Chris Brown, we talked yesterday, has lost his Wrigley's gum endorsement. They've put it on hold as well as pulled out all his affiliation with the NBC. I mean, the NBA all-star gig. So today we find out that he has been dropped from the Got Milk campaign, which he was a part of, you know, with the milk mustache. Really?
Really? Yeah. The milk people said, quote, the milk mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously. We are very proud and protective of the image of the milk mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens. So he is out of there. I heard he lost the Where's the Beef campaign, too. He had the Where's the Beef campaign. I think you're thinking of somebody else. I think you're thinking of somebody else. Oh, shoot. Now, he claims, Chris Brown claims that his stepfather used to beat his mom. In fact, his quote is, he used to hit my mom. He made me terrified all the time, terrified like I had to pee on myself. I remember one night he made her nose bleed. I was crying and thinking, I'm just going to go crazy on him one day. I hate him to this day. I was talking to my wife about that yesterday, and I said, you know, This guy, Chris Brown, if he beat up Rihanna, I said if his dad had not hit his mom, I think that the chances would have been a lot higher that he wouldn't be beating up Rihanna. Definitely. You know, they say that stuff gets passed down. Even though you like grow up hating that and you're so scared of it and seeing it, but then you end up doing that in your own life. That's right. It's weird.
And I basically, you know, even in my own life, I had to become aware of it. I had to become aware of all of the negative things that happen in my life so that I don't repeat the negative things that happen in my life. With my kid, I have to either look at the good or the bad that happened with my parents and recognize that there is both. Recognize that with my mom and dad, there was good. And recognize that with my mom and dad, there was bad. And I have to be able to differentiate what the two are and try and make an effort and actually put thought into making it different with my kids. And every single one of us listening right now, every single one of us, there is not a soul with ears listening right now that your parents didn't make mistakes. There's not a soul listening. Not one. Every single person listening. Our parents made mistakes. Our parents did good things. There's not one of you listening that your parents didn't do some good things. It's just a fact of life. And so I was saying to Rebecca last night, I said, how could I try to really impart that? And she said, why don't you just say that? And what's the point? The point is, is that if you're listening.
and your dad used to beat your mom or does beat your mom and you hate it, understand that that is the model that was displayed for you. And whether you realize it or not, it's something that you have a very high propensity towards because that to you is what being a husband and being in a relationship looked like. And so that's what you know it looks like. Whatever your mom and dad did is what you know a relationship to look like, good or bad. There's good, but there's bad. And so you got to just find them both and figure them out. Now, Chris Brown's dad, his stepfather, Donnell Hawkins, he says, not true. All Chris's statements in regards to me abusing his mother are false. There was a lot of arguing, yes, but never any physical or domestic violence involved. Pretty strong statements, right? What about this one? I did have one occasion to discipline Chris. I think he was maybe 11 or 12, and that was the first time I had spanked him in seven years. And the reason for that was because he had began cursing, talking back to his mom, hitting her back, and I just decided enough was enough.
Or this one. Chris blaming me for his anger or whatever issues he's dealing with truly is using me as an escape goat. Just like we as Christians or general people use the devil as an excuse. The devil made me do it. Because he chooses not to accept responsibility for his own actions, which he never has had to do, he is using me as an escape goat. Not my job to judge whether or not he's telling the truth or not telling the truth. I don't know. How do we know? Don't know. But what we can do is just look at the facts. And one of the facts is a statement that was made by Chris Brown in an interview to Giant Magazine in 2007 where Chris Brown says, he used to hit my mom. Made me terrified all the time. Terrified like I had to pee on myself. I remember one night he made her nosebleed. I was crying and thinking, I'm just going to go crazy on him one day. I hate him to this day.
You have to discern in your own mind whether or not you believe that that statement made to Giant Magazine last year was a flat-out lie. Yeah, and that's a pretty crazy accusation to make if it's, you know, made up. Like, there's got to be some kind of police record or something reflecting it to back it up, or that is just, like, to me, that's, like, I don't know how you do that. I said, you know, my wife and I were talking about this kind of stuff because we were talking about Bogoyevich. And Bogoyevich was the dude that got the governor of Illinois that just is getting impeached. I said, man, I said, it's really a trip, man, how a lot of times when dudes are covering tracks, they got to bring God into it. Like that bums me out. You know, like it's like, well, this is so sacred. I would never say this unless I was telling the truth. I would never invoke God's name unless I was telling the truth. And that part of it to me is, I mean, they got Bogoyevich on tapes. Yeah, please. You know, being like, how much you want for the Senate seat? Yeah. But he's still, you know, he's still bringing it up. Well, and I'm not saying that Chris Brown's stepdad is an abuser because like you said, how do we know? We don't know. But I do think it speaks to the stepfather's character.
The fact that he is now doing these interviews and, you know, it's one thing to defend yourself against accusations, even though these accusations were made years ago. But it's another thing to then start putting down your stepchild in the public and saying, oh, well, now he, you know, finally has to be accountable and he's never been accountable. Like that just shows a horrible relationship. Call me crazy. But if someone, you know, say I had a kid and he wrote that, you know, he said that in a magazine. The second I found out, if that's not true, I'm going, dude, like, what is this about? You know, you're making me look like, you know, a life beater, man. Which would have been two years ago. Two years ago. I would have harped on that. Sure. When you've been doing interviews, you know what I mean? Like, you've been doing interviews then. Yeah, like, why is he coming out now? Why now? That to me is just weird. Like, it was fine for two years, but now that, you know. Now all of a sudden. Like, what? P1 jammed. That's P1 James. Hey, Mikey, how's it going? Hey, guys. Wait, it's James? James, yeah. James, okay. The M's are silent. That's right. Go ahead, James. Well, hey, I heard you talking about this Chris Brown thing, you know, and it sounded a little like you were letting this guy off the hook, you know. You know, his stepfather beat his mom, so that's an excuse that he's able to, you know, get me off the hook for beating this lady. It's not like his stepfather made him swing his fist and hit her in the face. Well, that is my failure.
In articulating my point very well, if if you got that, I thought that he should be off the hook. First of all, I don't get to forgive him. God's the only one that gets to do that. So I just get to hear the story and give you my opinion on it. But my my opinion is that Chris Brown probably did what he did because it was the environment that he was raised in. I do not say that as an excuse. It was wrong. He needs to be punished to the full extent of the law. And and when he does, it'll be justified because what he did was wrong and illegal. You bringing that up was just saying, you know, kind of a product of his environment, product of his environment. You know, someone that wasn't raised like that, you know. You're not hearing about this story. The reason that I brought it up is because the conversation that I was having with my wife last night was, man, there were things that were a product of my mom and dad growing up that I made some choices with to change. And here's Chris Brown, and there are...
not the right choice is being made. And my conversation with my wife was, how can I, a guy on the radio, when talking about this, make a difference? Is there anything I can say that will maybe change, maybe somebody's hearing it and they were brought up in that environment and maybe they just, there's something that they can hear or haven't heard that will maybe make them think and go, wow, man, okay, yeah, I get it. Maybe I, Yeah. And she said, just say what you just said to me. And and that's what I was saying earlier. Just the whole thing about if it happened in your life as you were growing up, recognize it and say, I do not want that to be me. I don't want that to be me. And take any steps, including going to see somebody that can help you work it out. Anything it takes to make sure that you're not repeating that behavior because it'll ruin your life. I mean, Chris Brown, this is as bad as it gets, man. I mean, you talk about false. He kind of deserves every second of that. Absolutely. Hey, bro, no doubt about it. No doubt about it. But, you know, I said this when the Kobe Bryant thing happened, too. I feel sorry for Chris Brown.
I have compassion in my heart for Chris Brown. And I had compassion in my heart for Kobe Bryant in that they were victims of themselves, too. Just couldn't get out of their own way. Like they're in the midst of misery that they brought upon themselves. No doubt about it. Who among us hasn't brought about stuff for ourselves? I've done it. Every single one of us has done it. You know, so I can't just sit there, point my finger and go, look at you, you criminal. I'm a criminal, too. I've done bad. I mean, maybe I haven't committed rape. Maybe I haven't committed assault and battery like this, but I've done things. I've done things that I have to be accountable for that people could have very easily looked at me in those in those dark moments in my life where I've done things I'm not proud of. And every single one of us has done things we're not proud of. Anybody could have looked at those moments when we were in the middle of those moments. If we were a public figure, anybody could have looked at us and gone. Oh, really, you creep. That's what you're about. This moment right now, that's who you are? And what I'm saying is, man, dude, I mean, this dude absolutely should be punished to the full extent of the law. And at the same time, I go, dude, I mean, I feel bad that you made these choices. Like, you made some bad choices, dude. You made some bad choices. But I don't say, just don't anybody mistake that for being, oh, poor Chris Brown. It isn't that, man.
There's a difference between that and just compassion. You know what I mean? Just compassion. No, no, no, no. Well, first of all, we haven't heard. No, no, no. Dude, hang on a second, James. I got to stop you right there because. First of all, I haven't heard Chris Brown talk about it at all. Yeah, he has not issued any statement of innocence or guilt since the incident happened. And if he did issue a statement that said, my dad did it, it's not my fault, I would be like, whatever. I think we'd all say whatever. You know, you got to be accountable for your actions. What I'm trying, when you hear the passion in my voice right now, what I'm trying to get to is that is what the dad. What the dad was doing, if the dad was doing it, like Chris says, and just not repeating it, not repeating the behavior. And I think part of not repeating the behavior is recognizing, oh, man, that was jacked. I got to figure out a way that I don't do that. Even if you think in your mind, I would never do it. I would never do it. I think the whole reason Chris Brown was talking about it to begin with was because dude thought he would never. He hated it. He hated what was happening to his mom. Hey, Rob.
Just real quick, because on that note, you know, when you're growing up, you kind of, everyone kind of says to themselves, you know, things that your parents do, you're not going to do. You know, I'm not going to repeat that. I'm not going to be harsh to my kids. I'm not going to, you know, penalize them for this or that. And then, you know, as you kind of grow up, you kind of find yourself doing without thought. Things that your parents did or saying things that your parents say. So it's just something that, you know, was ingrained in us real young because that's our product. Well, that's our normal. That's our normal. That's it. That's our normal. Let me give you an example with Jake, my son. He's two and a half. I have when I was growing up, man, I had these massive, massive issues with safety and ever feeling safe. You know, like one time it was put to me like this. Man, I thought I'd never share this story. I don't think I've shared this story on the air before. It's a counseling session. And, dude, when this was suggested to me, I thought it sounded so stupid. I'll be honest. Right now, when you hear me talk, I'm telling you, I'm pouring this out of my heart and my guts. This is the truth, okay? When my counselor said this, I said, that sounds silly. I even said it. That sounds silly. She says, I'm sitting on a couch. My counselor's sitting across from me.
There's a chair next to her, okay? She says, I want you to get up, and I want you to sit on this chair, not on the couch. And I asked her, I said, what are we going to do? She goes, I'm going to have you talk to little Mike. And I'm like, I go, that is, I said, I said, I go, that's silly. And she goes, just trust me on this one, all right? Just do this with me. I get up, I go sit in the chair, and she says, all right. She says, I want you to ask little Mike if little Mike thinks that big Mike is a good dad. And I'm like, and I'm like, and I feel so stupid, man. I feel so stupid. I mean, and I go. What a trip, though. And she goes, and I actually want you to communicate with you as a little boy. And I go, little Mike, do you think that grown up Mike is a good dad? And she goes. What did little Mike say? I said, I think he's a good dad. I think he's a great dad. Now, my whole issue, by the way, and I'm getting to something else. My whole issue during this moment was feelings of guilt that I wasn't being the best, a good dad. Sure. Because I saw other dads out like, I saw other dads out like walking their kids and doing stuff with their kids that I was really uncomfortable doing. And so her next question was.
How did she phrase it? She goes, if little Mike could ask one thing of big Mike, of adult Mike, what would it be? I'm telling you, once she stuck it to me like that, tears just like they just started pouring out. Dude. And she said, what does he want to tell you? What does he want to tell you? And I said that I'm not safe. I just said, I'm not safe. I need protection. And that was the issue with Jake, man. Like Jake would even still, man, this is still something I battle. Like Rebecca, I'll tell you yesterday we took Jake to the park and Rebecca does this thing where when we swing him, she does this thing. You guys have seen this where.
You're standing behind your kid. You're swinging him on the swing. And then every once in a while, you'll do the thing where you swing and you walk through with him and you walk underneath him. Oh, yeah. You go wicked high. That's the best. And I go, babe. And she goes, what? And I go, come on with that. And she goes, what? And I go, well, what if the thing tips over? And I'm just like, I'm flipping out, you know? And I said, uh. And sometimes he'll be on, you know, we'll be both up on the bed and the bed is kind of high and he'll be up on there and he'll be jumping around. And I'm just like, I'm so uncomfortable inside the whole time because I think he's going to get hurt. And it's an issue of safety. It was a product of my upbringing. It was a product of me, of, of mom and dad. I love you. But it was the product of mom and dad. They weren't, I didn't feel them around me very much. I was kind of a little bit of a lone wolf. And so I felt unprotected. I've said it in my testimony before, sexually abused when I was real little. And so there was always a feeling of I'm not protected. I'm unsafe. That's what I'm talking about. And so with Jake, I have this safety mechanism, right? Oh, my gosh, he's going to get hurt right now.
Which, by the way, is an extraordinarily uncomfortable feeling. It's very uncomfortable. When you're in the middle of it, it is very uncomfortable. And so my reaction to it has been to withdrawal. Because to spend time with him is to constantly be feeling this emotion. And so if anybody's wondering what I've done about it, it's just been praying and asking God, please don't let me feel that. Please let me know I'm safe. Please let me be around him. Not trip out. It still happens. It's getting way better. I mean, that's why we're at the park. It's getting better. But, dude, I'm telling you, man, I tripped with Jake. Tripped. I'll tell you another one. This is crazy. You're going to think this is nuts. I know I've never said this. I've never said this. You guys are going to think that I'm mentally insane when I tell you this. Oh, my gosh. Okay. Because this is so drastic. Oh, man. This is a tough thing to tell you. You're not wearing skin suits, right? No. Skin suits. Buffalo Bill. Okay. No. This is the extent. This is what got me going to this shrink going, what's my problem? It was when Jake was an infant. He was, I don't know, he's probably like a month or two old. And in his...
In his room, Rebecca has these two chairs that are like, I don't know, like, I don't know what they are. They're like these two chairs that you could sit in. But they have a name, like a maternity name. They're probably called maternity chairs. They're like rocking chairs. And one morning, I'm in charge of feeding Jake. I'm getting dry mouth telling this story. One morning, I'm feeding Jake. He's all bundled up. And I got the bottle. And I'm scared. As a dad, I got this new little baby. He's so fragile to me. I sit down. I sat down too hard. And his head kind of hit mine. And he started crying. And I was so mad at myself. I hit myself. No, you didn't. I did it with a balled up fist. I was so mad at me. Like, how dare you hurt my baby? Did you really? Pow.
Wow, Mike. Punch myself. That's crazy. It was crazy, man. Man. And I started crying. Oh, man, Mike. Dude. Dude. And it was because I was so protective of him. What a trip. And that's the unsafe. You know, that was like, dude, it was as much of a reflex as hitting my leg with a hammer. Sure. And it was all little Mike. Wow. Wow. It was all little Mike turning Jake into little Mike. Yeah. And I got to protect that little guy. Right. More than anything. When he's walking up the stairs, I got to be standing right behind him so nothing happens. Oh, man. All has to do with safety. And the way that it all ties into this story is just that I'm, dude, I don't let, this dude, Chris Brown, man, if he did this stuff, he's got to go to jail. Flat out. whole point it is how do we reach those dads man how do we reach those dads how do we reach future dads that's it that's it how do we reach future dads guys that are young right now in their 20s even 30s or whatever and your dad beat your mom or you're a girl and your dad beat your mom how do you not end up with a guy that beats you because
I wonder if you look into Rihanna, right? I wonder. I don't know. I don't know. Who knows? Who knows what she was raised around? But you know how you always hear, you do hear this, that women, a lot of times they were raised in an abusive environment. They end up with a dude that, you know what I mean? So, you know, how do you change it? I think is the whole deal. What a trip. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've obviously never told that. That is one of those deep things. But I'm going to tell you the reason I share that. My heart is beating so fast. The reason that I share it is because I pray that there is somebody listening in the audience right now that has experienced a similar feeling. Maybe not to the point of what I did as a reflex, but maybe there's somebody that's listening that has experienced that type of feeling before. I'm sure there is. Yeah. And knowing what that's about.

But one thing that we have never talked about when I told you about AIS is when you go down to Mexico, If you get your car ripped off, you're kind of... Up the creek without a paddle. That's right, Eddie. Yeah, they always like it. Do you have to buy special insurance at the border? Yeah, I never know what to do. AIS has Mexican insurance. We got a guy in our sales department, went there with a friend. All they had was a cooler, full of air, gonna go surf. Rented a place, walked outside the next morning, car's gone. Oh. He did not get the Mexican insurance. Oh. They had to hitchhike back and were very lucky to have some nice Mexican guys pick them up in a truck, let them get in the back of the truck. They took them to the border and gave them their beer. But maybe you don't want that to happen to you when you're going to Mexico. If you don't want that, then call AIS, 1-800-777-4247. And I was just walking around the pad here in Rancho Santa Fe that I got in the divorce. Is that right? Well, let me tell you something, Eddie. And I can tell you this straight from the street, okay? From the street. That's right. First time my baby's daddy pulled the old get up and go, mama bought herself a nine. Daddy!
What the heck? I'm talking about nine yards of yarn from Michaels, but still, I was upset. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105.3. Getting a lot of calls about the last break and me talking about those issues of safety. And Eddie said, during the break, he said, you know, I think you've told that story before. He said, but I didn't know about the hitting thing where I hit myself in the face. It's just weird. to, um, admit. Cause I, you know, I, I felt like so weird. I, I, it was like a reflex, you know? Uh, and I was angry at me and I just kept thinking in my head, how could you, you know, how could you do that? And, um, all I did was sit down, you know? Uh, and let me tell you, I would sit down on that chair the next time. Like I had a broken hip, you know, uh, P one, not,
Yeah, it's Mikey Show. How's it going? Good, man. How you doing? I'm doing good, brother. What's up? Oh, nothing much. Basically, when I heard you talking, excuse me, I just woke up, so if I sound a little all over the place, I'm sorry. But when I heard you guys, when I heard you talking about your story about your son, basically, when I heard that, I was like, wow, he's talking about myself. And that's what I, man, dude. Yeah, and it's... And when I started thinking about it, I don't necessarily get like how I get so protective of him because when he starts crying, it frustrates me. It doesn't frustrate me with my son. It frustrates me with the fact that I can't do anything to help him. That I think might be the thing that every dad goes through, every mom goes through. I don't know. I know that when my son cries, it makes me.
very, very sad. And I think that the reason that it makes me sad is because I do the projection thing, you know, where I'm like, it's like I'm him. And so, you know, even when he's crying about nothing that really needs to be, you know, he's hungry. Yeah, cranky. He's cranky. He's whatever. But I'm reacting to, I'm reacting to something. And it's, it's exactly what, what my shrink did in that room. And exactly that's what it was, man. Just issues of safety and working through, like figuring out, okay, well, how do I somehow fix that kid 30 years later? How do I fix that? Because that kid's still hurting, obviously. That kid is still hurt. So how do you fix it? And, you know, part of the key for me has been asking. god to do it for me because a lot of it i just i can't do and there are ways to fix it too that's what a lot of some people don't realize you know yeah yeah trapped and you're not you know you're not man you can there are ways to work through things and it's tough but it's possible just like you did you know yeah and you know what's cool about it in the whole fixing it thing the thing that's cool about it is you know a lot of people might say oh it's not that bad i mean what's the big deal whatever because uh life could be
a lot better, more enjoyable, smell better. It's like saying, you know, it's really weird. I got these two marbles in my nose and I can't smell that good. You know, I try to smell this food I'm cooking. I can kind of smell it, but hey, you know, whatever. I'm getting along with these marbles in my nose. It's not that big a deal. Yeah, you know what though? You take those marbles out and that stuff's going to smell really good. Smell this. Ooh, I wish I had marbles in my nose. P1 Fighting Irish is on the line. Fighting Irish. How you doing, Mikey? Good, man. Hey, I got a little story for you, maybe to help you out. When I was younger, my dad used to take me on my little bike and my training wheels, and he never used to stand completely behind me. So when I fell, you know, I would get back up, and he'd be there to help me get back up on my bike. And I asked my dad when I was... Eight, nine years old. And I remember this conversation because I don't see my dad too much. I go, hey, pops, you know, when I ride my bike or when I go play sports or something like that, how come you're never there to catch me when I fall? And he explained to me, he goes, I can't always be there to help you, you know, catch your falls. But when you do fall, I can help you get back up. And that gave me that comfort of knowing that if I ever fell or if I ever got hurt, he was there to help me back up.
And I didn't blame them anymore because I used to blame them when I'd ride my bike or go with my friends and get hurt. You know, why is my dad here? But when you go show your dad or your mom, you know, hey, look, I got hurt today. They kiss it. They give you a hug. They say it's OK. That's where that comfort comes from, knowing that you got someone to go to. Man, it's that to me when you were saying it, all I could think about was how that was an analogy. For God in my life. I'm not trying to get religious on you. I'm not trying to proselytize. I'm just saying. I'm just saying. Yeah, dude. Like, I just hope people aren't listening. Oh, my goodness. With the God stuff. I promise you I'm not trying to do that. I promise you. But, man, when you were saying it, I just thought to myself, man, that is really a cool analogy. That is really a cool analogy. It can be used as an analogy. Like, that comfort. I'll be there for you to help pick you back up. I think it works in both ways. Yeah, yeah, for sure. It's a father thing. You know, your father here on earth and your father spiritually is there for you like that. That's rad. I think that's cool. That's awesome. My kids run around the house, and my fiancé and my mother and all are like, oh, my God, grab her, grab her. Like, let her. She falls. Be there to pick her up. She's going to love that more. She's going to feel that nesting, that comfort.
Thank you, brother. You can't prevent a kid from falling down. I appreciate it. Yeah, my wife says, hey, you got to let him fall down. You got to let him bump his head. Like, why would we let him? No, no, no. You got to let him bump his head. P1 Gloria. Mikey, hi. Hi. Listen, I was just feeling you really deeply this morning. I am the mother of one son, and I felt the same exact way. I had a horrible, horrible childhood. And I know you didn't have that, but I... But in my case, I just wanted to protect my son so that he wouldn't have to go through what I did. And so I made up my mind that I didn't want him to ever get hurt. And it was so bad that when we would go to the park, I would actually stand on the playground with him to make sure none of the other kids bullied him or did it. And I took it way, way too far. That's it. That's it right there. Yeah, and now my son is 31. He lives in New York. And I will just say this to you. It was very difficult letting him go. At first, he moved to San Diego. You know, we were living in Escondido. Then he moved to San Diego. And that was difficult for me because then, you know, I couldn't protect him, you know. And he kind of had to get these bumps and bruises on his own. And then he moved to New York.
He got mugged, and I'll tell you, when you're on this coast and he's on that coast and something that significant happens, I mean, it's terrible. But what I have learned, and, you know, like I said, I've been a mom for 31 years now, is you just have to let it go. My son has learned so much, and I'm so proud of him, and I'm sure, you know, and I know you're proud of your son, and unfortunately, we can't be there to protect them, you know, all the time. And what happens is... When they get hurt, I mean, it's a learning experience for them. And it's painful for us as parents. We want to protect our kids. We would rather take the fall than let them take the fall. But, you know, we just really have to let it go. And that's all I'm saying to you. Yeah, there's actually practical application for letting it go. Because, listen. I don't think anybody likes hearing, oh, just let it go. And let me give you an example. Next time you're working with a hammer and you slam yourself in the finger and you freak out.
You don't want somebody there standing next to you saying, hey, let it go. Come on now. Come on now. Just let it go. No, it hurts. But there is actually something you can do. You bandage it. There's a way to soothe it. There you go. I am a big advocate of, you know, there's stuff you can do that you can actually do where you don't just have to say, let it go. There is a way to let it go. There's just a way to let it go in a healthy way. actually makes you feel good and better and all that stuff uh oh okay so i just i didn't even tell the thing about travis barker because travis before we went to break i said travis barker was at the grammys and when he was there and they you know said they were getting back together blink 182 and travis barker was his arm was in a sling huge sling yeah It wasn't like a little tiny little arm sling. It was a giant. Eddie, didn't you think that it had something to do with like his accident or something? I 100% associated it with the burn, you know, thing from the plane crash he was in. Right. And just assumed that that's what it was. And then it came in the next dance guy. I was like, I don't think so. Well, yeah, it wasn't like he's always been in this since the plane crash, you know, this. But you are right. It is related to the plane crash. He finally he finally commented on what it was.
Yes, Eddie, you are right. Why? No, I'm not. Really? Why? Really? Whatever. So basically the deal was, so he was in this horrific plane crash where he was burned and everything and in the hospital for quite a while. And all he wanted to do was get out of the hospital and go home. So he said his hand and arm was kind of numb. Yeah. But he didn't mention it to the doctors because he wanted to get out of the hospital and go home. Stupid. Yeah. So he said he didn't tell anybody. It was about four or five of his fingers that he couldn't really feel. And especially as a drummer, that's not a good thing. You need your fingers to do that? Apparently you do. So he actually just finally addressed. Oh, man. Wow. Wow. That one took a second. Wow. That was a joke grenade. Wow. More of an insensitive grenade. How is that insensitive? Well, he doesn't have an arm. Exactly. He's a drummer for Def Leppard. He doesn't have an arm. That is my point. You don't need fingers to drum.
So anyways, Travis Barker just finally got the surgery for the nerve damage that he had suffered. And he says it's going to take him about eight to ten weeks to recover. Oh, my. Yeah. Oh, my. OK. Wait. Don't forget, by the way, if you if you're looking for something to do Valentine's Day. Well, actually, it's if you know somebody. Right. If you know somebody that you really feel. deserves a nice Valentine's Day. But with the economy, maybe that's not in the cards. Go to MikeyShow.com right now. You want to send somebody to Pample Moose Grill? Pample Moose? Oh, truffle, truffle, truffle. Truffle, truffle. Eddie, feel free to nominate me. Well, I don't think you deserve it. So if you do, if you know somebody, go to MikeyShow.com and know right up front, they will be in charge of booze. And they will be in charge of tip. Yes, Quimby. And tax. Yes, Quimby. Hi. Okay, I've had a couple people call and wonder if they can nominate themselves if they're in a crappy economic situation. You can. I think that it would be better to say it to a friend and say, hey, do you think you can nominate me? It would look better, I think, to nominate yourself. That's just a little tip. I think that's a good idea. Awesome.

History stuff. Sky. You know, your friend's a little sensitive and isn't a big fan of violence. Boston Rob. I watch a lot of Food Network lately, and it's mostly because of you. And Ashley. I love my bangs, and they grow out so freaking fast. Save that clip. I know. Save that clip. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. But what is the Casbah? It's like a bar that's downtown San Diego right by the airport. Yeah, exactly. I've seen it. It's an intimate venue. It means that when you go to the venue, you spoon. It's very intimate. Okay. Are you guys ready? Are you ready to do this? Do what? Peter's Hotel. I don't think I'm ready. I don't know that I'm ready. Why? Give me a minute. If you've never heard.
Cheaters Hotel is where if you think that your husband or your wife or your boyfriend or your girlfriend may be cheating, you go to MikeyShow.com. Or all of the above. That's right. That's weird. Wait a minute. How would you? Don't ask. Yeah, I wouldn't ask. And you go to MikeyShow.com and you tell us what it is that the problem is. Your suspicions. Your suspicions. Yeah. And what we will do is we will call them and tell them that we're calling from a hotel. And we will say, we have for you a gift basket. And all we need to know is who is your guest? Now, if they say your name, it's usually all good. And if they do not say your name, then it's not all good. Usually. That's right. So.
P1 Heather is on the line. Are you there? Hello. How are you, Heather? Why did you do that? Yeah, hang on just a second, Heather. Why did you do that, Ash? The girl's name in Fast Times at Ridgemont High is Stacy. Right. So I don't know why you just did Damone. Yeah. Saying, oh, yeah. it could apply anymore. It doesn't at all. It could basically be any name. Or we say lemonade. There was no reason to just say that, Mike. In her defense, Heather and Stacey sound a lot alike. They rhyme. They rhyme. That's right. Fair enough. Heather, I'm going to get some information from you. And the purpose of getting the information from you is so that listeners can hear it. And the truth is, I forgot your information because I know I've read it. That's fair. And that is what's going on every time that I try to pretend that I'm doing it for the audience. It's actually because I don't remember it. That is fair. Heather, how old are you? I'm 25. 25.
A great age. And are we talking about your boyfriend or are we talking about your husband? My boyfriend. Boyfriend. And what's his name? His name's Zach. Zach. Zach Attack. Eddie. Enough Saved by the Bell references. Sorry. Zach E. Zach is how old? He's 27. All right. And how long have you been going out? We've been going out like a couple months. Like two? Yeah, about two and a half. A little newbie couple. Two and a half months. I'm already with this. I'm just saying. Heather, why do you suspect that Zach is cheating? Well, we had plans for Valentine's Day, but he canceled them. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, see, he said that he had to work. But I called another one of his coworkers, and it turns out they're not working that day. The office is actually closed. Smart. You know, maybe he's putting in some overtime. I don't know. I mean, he also told me that I can't call him on his cell. He's going to be, like, unavailable the whole day. Oh, wow. Which I thought was kind of sketchy. And then his ex-girlfriend's birthday is actually Valentine's Day. Oh, well, that's the ultimate trifecta right there. You just got a hat trick. Can you calm down? Well, that doesn't sound good. A lot of places don't let you.
use your phone at work. Is this a relatively new thing or is this a, or is this something? It's a new thing. Like he never told me that before. He never said that I couldn't call him. Not that I would call him at work, but. How did he tell you that? He was just like, oh, by the way, you can't call me the whole day. So it just sounded like really fishy, you know? Yeah, it is a little fishy when it, if you have a new rule at work from your, Well, and I don't know. I mean, is that a crazy rule? It's not a crazy rule, but. Well, yeah, I mean, I know I've definitely heard of, you know, workplaces that say, hey, you know, no more cell phones. It's kind of getting out of hand with people texting while they're supposed to be working. We're paying you for our time. So it depends on what you do, too. I mean, in our line of work, we as DJs, we can't have our cell phone on. All right. What does he do? What does Zach do, Heather?
He works as a telemarketer. Yeah. Oh, that makes sense. Makes sense. But you called somebody that he works with that you know, too, and they say he's not working. Yeah. All right. The office is closed that day. All right. Well, here's what we're going to do. We're going to call Zach, and we are going to offer him a free night stay at a hotel. And we are going to... Tell him that we have a gift basket and see what name he wants put on that gift basket. And am I leaving anything out, guys? No. Any questions for Heather? It just seems weird. Yeah. You know, the ex-girlfriend thing, I don't know about, like, I'm kind of sketched out by that. I want to know a little more about that. Was that a long-term relationship before you, or was that just, like, the last chick he dated? It was like he went out with her for about a year and a half. A little while ago. Yeah. Yeah. Why did they break up? She moved away and then she moved back. Uh-oh. So she left for a little bit for a job. That's not good. How did you find out her birthday is on Valentine's Day? Did you do some snooping on Facebook? Oh. Face space. What's up?
Well, yeah, I was looking at his Facebook, but also he had mentioned this to me. I'm so typical. Love it. Yeah. Well. That's crazy. Seems like such a healthy relationship. I'm so disappointed. Two months in. This is not good. Do we even really need to call? Yeah. I want to. I want to. Well, stranger things have happened, but in defense of Sky, do we really need to call? Is this a good point? Heather, we're going to call Zach when we get back, and I'm going to offer him a night stay and a gift basket and ask him what name he wants on that basket. Okay. All right? Okay. I need you to hang on the line. Okay. Like, is there any chance? There is a chance. So you're saying there's a chance. Okay. Join the P1 Text Army. Text Mikey to 35253. Standard rate supply. This is a crawl on the South 15. Man, you're just bumper to bumper here at single digits from El Norte Parkway all the way down into Villa Rancho Parkway. Some traffic again to Carmel Mountain Ranch. The westbound dates back to big time here from Fletcher Parkway out of La Mesa all the way into Mission Valley past the queue. to a bad accident before Mission Center Road that caused that major back up there. 805 northbound, still very heavy as well out of Chula Vista, but it's starting to pick up speed a little bit, but still quite tough once you get in past the 94. From there, it's solid all the way to North Park. Then again, out of Kearney Mason with a 52. And a bad injury crash here in the corner of Magnolia and Mission Gorge Road in Santee has traffic control in place. You're going to find some heavy congestion there as well. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. We've been talking about it all week long. You've got to understand, Valentine's Day is this Saturday.
Pro Flowers is the way to go. There's only three days left until Valentine's is here. So you want to jump on this because supplies are not going to last. They are the opposite of what's going on around with florists, local florists, things like that. They jack up their prices around Valentine's Day. But Pro Flowers is the opposite. They give you special deals. which, you know, to me is really cool, especially in this economy and stuff like that. You want to look for good deals anywhere you can find them. And Pro Flowers, they have a great deal going on. You can get one dozen red roses in a free ruby red vase or two dozen assorted roses in a free clear glass vase. Plus, each bouquet comes with free truffles, all for just $39.99. That is an unreal deal right before Valentine's Day. You get the roses, the free vase, the free truffles. Thank you. And Ash. I support sweat everywhere I go. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. It's 834 and it's time to make the call. Gotta do it. We're doing Cheaters Hotel. Heather got a hold of us, said, I'm a little bit suspicious of my boyfriend, Zach. Suspicious. That's right. She didn't say it like that, but Ashley did. She should have. It's way more fun. Heather, are you still there? Yeah, I'm still here. Okay. Now. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to call your boyfriend, Zach. And we're going to say that we're calling from a hotel here in town. And we're going to offer him a night stay. And we're going to tell him that it's free to him. And we are going to tell him that we're going to leave him a gift basket. The only thing is that we just need to know who he wants us to put on that gift basket. What name he wants us to put on the gift basket.
If he says your name, Heather, it's a good thing. If he doesn't, it's a bad thing. So it's like Martha Stewart. Yes. You know how her motto is, it's a bad thing. I have a question for Heather before we make the call. Heather, you said that you guys have only been going out for about two and a half months. Did any part of you think that if maybe he's not cheating and he says your name, that this could ruin the whole relationship? Yeah, I think so. Yeah, I mean, I don't want to waste any more time with someone, especially if they're cheating. Well, but what if he's not cheating? Are you scared that he's going to be out on you because you're doing these shenanigans here with the radio station and the phony calls and all that? I think he'll understand. I mean, I don't know. I hope he will. Okay. Would you understand?
Yeah, I would understand for sure. All right. I mean, it does sound weird that, you know, he's working on Saturday. She talked to somebody. He said that, no, they were not working on Saturday. And then they, you know, you can't reach me by cell phone. I mean, that's odd. I think anybody would understand. That's kind of weird. It does. All right, Heather, you ready? Yeah, I'm ready. Only thing I'm going to ask of you is if he says a name other than your name, Heather, don't curse, please. Okay. You got to stay quiet until that point. And once he says a name, you're free to speak. Go off. Well, I'm not saying you need to go off. Get violent with your words. No. Not saying that. Definitely not saying that you need to get violent with your words. But. I just need to remind you to please not cuss if you can do that for me, okay? Okay. Let's see. All right, hang on a minute. Hello, may I please speak to Zach? Good morning, Zach. How you doing? My name is Steve, and I'm calling from the Orion Hotel, San Diego's newest premier high-rise hotel located in the heart of the gas lamp. How are you this morning? I'm good. How are you? I'm good. I wanted to let you know that someone that you know...
has entered your name into a drawing to win a free night stay at our property. And we're very excited to tell you that you were selected. Congratulations. Yeah. Hey, listen, that's pretty cool. I usually get people that are always questioning whether or not it's a telemarketer calling. So you're the first person that we're actually getting that doesn't throw up a fuss. I like it. It's kind of nice when you're giving somebody something for free and they're actually appreciative of it. Sounds pretty cool. No purchase necessary. You don't have to buy anything to win. What we do need to inform you is that this is a non-transferable gift. And upon check-in, you're going to need to place a credit card on hold for any incidentals like in-room movies, entertainment, minibar, phone charges, any of that kind of stuff, okay? And you have up to 30 days to pick the night of your stay. Cool. So you have 30 days from today. As an extended gift, the Orion would like to offer you a complimentary gift basket with strawberries and champagne. And it'll be in the room when you arrive. And we personalize a gift card with the basket at absolutely no charge to you. And all we need is what name we can include along with your name on the card. Yeah.
Let's see. Yeah, let's put down my name and Jill. All right, Zach, I need to let you know that you're on the radio right now at Rock 105 and your girlfriend Heather's on the line. This is the Mikey Show at Rock 105. And we're doing something called Cheaters Hotel. Heather wrote in and said that she was suspicious that you were cheating. And I guess you are. Who is Jill, Zach? Jill? Jill's my ex-girlfriend. But, I mean, me and Heather aren't in... Well, I knew it. So I guess you're hanging out with her on Valentine's Day after canceling our plans. Well, do you really want to do this right now, Heather? Yeah, I do. Like, why the stupid ruse of, like, I'm working, you can't call me all day, canceling of the plans. Why can't you be a man to just break up with me? Well, look, it's a little more complicated than that.
How so? Tell us. Tell us about it. We haven't gotten to the level where, you know, I need to tell you everything that's going on. We were exclusive. We said we were going to be exclusive. There you go, Zach. Zach, did you feel like you were not exclusive? I mean, no, I didn't feel like we were exclusive. Obviously not. You didn't feel, okay. But they had to talk, so what's the deal there? Yeah, I mean... I felt pressure that you wanted to have Valentine's together when, you know, we... When it was your ex-girlfriend's birthday? And, you know, I wanted, you know, I didn't not want... Oh, boy. Well, wait a minute. According to him, though, according to Zach... We're just dating. What? According to Zach... I didn't know we were exclusive here. We had a conversation that we were exclusive, that we weren't going to date anybody else. Heather, do you call each other boyfriend, girlfriend? Yes. So, Zach. Zach, you busted. Zach, you felt that there was no commitment? Maybe some leeway. Leeway. He felt he had leeway. Leeway?
this. They really don't. I don't appreciate being lied to, having my Valentine's Day plans canceled, and I don't feel appreciated for being cheated on either. I am a woman. I am a lady. Nice. Way to go, Beyonce. Look what she's done, right? Sasha Fierce. You know, I mean, we have been dating, but we haven't consummated the relationship, so... I mean, I don't know what you're getting so bunched at. So if I understand this correctly, if I understand this correctly, if I understand this correctly, if I listen, if this is not validation for all the stuff I'm constantly saying on the air, I don't know what is, but let me get this straight. What you're saying, Zach, is that Heather was basically being a good, kid and not she was saying hey listen i'm gonna not i'm not putting out necessarily she didn't put out and so you said well that means that we're not really dating and also man i don't want to waste my valentine's day on someone who's not putting out because i want to get some nookie yeah so i'm gonna go to the ex-girl you ain't knocking boots no that's not what i meant what did you mean okay what did you mean
that our relationship isn't at the point where I felt the need that I have to be committed. Exactly everything that's going on. I do care about Heather, but I'm not, we're not like living together. We're not, you know, I had to propose. Hey, Zach. Hey, Zach. We have people calling in and P1 Kristen has a really good question. Kristen, are you there? Yes, I'm here. What's your question? I want to know if he's playing this girl Heather. if the girl Jill knows that he's dating somebody else on the side as well? That's a good question. I love it. So does Jill know about Heather, Zach? No, but we broke up a long time. We broke up, so I don't feel like Jill needs to know that I've been seeing someone else, especially because I haven't slept with Heather before. So they don't need to know. What's the problem? Oh, my God. So not only are you cheating on me, you're cheating on her as well? No, I'm not cheating on anyone. It's sick, man. What do you mean that you're not cheating on anyone, Zach? What's wrong with me? I have a history with this girl, and I decided that I wanted to spend Valentine's Day with her instead of Heather. Why'd you lie? Yeah, you lied about it. Why'd you lie? I just started dating, and I thought it was too intense, too early to be having some sort of fake love day, but I'm not in love.
There you go. I'm sorry, Heather. If you cared about me, you wouldn't have put me on the spot like this. Oh, it's your bad, Heather. Turn it around. I did a phone call, and you were sleeping with someone else, an ex, which you already know is not going to work out. Okay. I wouldn't even, I mean, you don't need to counsel him, Heather. Who cares? Yeah, I mean, listen, he's made a bed, you know, obviously. At the Orion Hotel. Yes. And he put a mint on the pillow. P1 Megan. Hi. Hi. I had a question for Zach. I was wondering if the situation were flipped, if it were Heather cheating on him, you know, canceling Valentine's Day with her ex, if he'd still be justifying it and feeling as calm. Yeah, would that be okay, Zach? You know. Wait, what? In other words, what you're saying is, listen, we haven't consummated the relationship. I didn't think it was that serious. And, you know, so that's why I did what I did. So the question is, if Heather did the same exact thing, told you that she couldn't go out with you on Valentine's Day, and as it turned out, she didn't think that you were that serious and she was going out with an ex-boyfriend, would that be okay? I mean, yeah, I think so. Because, you know, I mean, I wouldn't... Of course, because if you were to tell me that...
you know, something came up and she couldn't spend Valentine's Day with me, I wouldn't make such a big deal out of it because I would know that we've just started dating and that, you know, we're still in the early stages of our relationship. Why do you lie, liar? Cheating is cheating. Exclusive is exclusive. Exactly. Because you haven't slept together doesn't mean anything. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. I don't, wait a second, though. Wait a second, Megan. Megan is saying just because you don't sleep with somebody doesn't mean that it isn't cheating. But P1 Justin is on the line and disagrees. Justin, are you there? Yeah, I mean, how's it really cheating? It doesn't sound like there's a real commitment there because if an adult's an adult, they're going to be... If they're in a relationship, they're going to be doing everything together. Not necessarily. If they're not sleeping together, that's not really a relationship. So I don't think he's cheating. That's so against my religious belief. Coming from a guy's point of view. If you're not sleeping together, it's not a relationship. Wow. Wow. Wait, wait, wait. This is turning into the view. I know. But if she doesn't sleep with them, it's considered not committing.
I mean, do you get my drift here? That is crap. Well, yeah, him seeing two girls is pretty much outrageous. That's a no-go no matter what. But, I mean, in a way, he's right. It just depends on the stipulation because if he's not sleeping there, it's not really cheating. He's not right, though. Justin, don't you understand that they had the conversation about being exclusive? Thus, he's lying and cheating. Well, wait, wait, wait. I mean, forgive me. Are we listening to his point? Justin. Justin. What's up? I mean, brother. Brother, you know, intercourse does not equal relationship. No, but I mean, for most adults, if they're going to get in some type of intercourse, I would assume that they're going to be in that relationship unless they're just straight out. Yeah, so would I. In fact, in my world, and apparently Heather says in her world, because it's part of her religious beliefs, which, by the way, Heather, you probably should have told Zach that.
I don't know if you told them from the very beginning, you ain't getting none of this, but you probably should have. But anyway, it doesn't equal relationship. You're going to break a girl's heart. I mean, and hey, Justin, if that's what relationship means, maybe up front you say, hey, listen, when you have that talk and you're like, are we together? Are we not? Maybe you should say to the girl, Justin, well. I consider it together once we do it. Yeah, and if intercourse... See how far that gets you. You look a little foolish. Yeah, hello. If intercourse is, you know, how you consider you're going out, then how do you break up? Yeah. Like un-intercourse? Yeah, do you un-intercourse? Yeah, I've heard that. Yeah, I see where you guys are coming from. I think that obviously Heather's too good for him and he needs to make up his mind and she just needs to... Not deal with him anymore. There we go. Thank you, Justin. That was Justin. That was P1 Justin. He's the best. And thank you, Megan. We appreciate your phone call, too. Thanks. Zach's still there. Zach, are you there? Who? Yeah, I'm here. Okay. Oh, no. Can I just say something really quickly? No. I do want to apologize for lying. There you go. Because I did lie about what was going on. But it was honestly meant to be in her best interest.
I think even though I lied, I'm not necessarily eating on her. Hey, Zach. Zach, you're not going to like this, but P1 Scotty has an invitation for Heather. Are you there, Scotty? Yeah. Go ahead. Heather, I'm wanting to know what you're doing on Valentine's. I'm wanting to know if you want to go out with me. Oh, no. Too soon. Yeah, I don't have any plans anymore. Maybe we can hook you guys up. Doesn't have any plans. Are you a good guy, Scotty? Oh, yeah, I'm a good guy. All right. All right. I believe you. Yeah, maybe we'll see. I will walk down the dark alley with you. Let's set it up. I will get into a car with you and drive. A van with no windows. That's right. Hey, listen, I hope you guys work it out, and it sounds like you have a little bit of work to do. And, I mean, maybe not too much work to do, actually. It's over. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not working on this. All right. I would say good luck to both of you. Happy Valentine's Day. I would not say happy Valentine's Day. I would not say happy Valentine's Day. I can tell you that when we come back...

Well, Mikey mentioned earlier that there's another baseball star in trouble when it's revolving around steroids. It is all-star shortstop Miguel Tejada. Aye, aye, aye. He has been charged with lying to a congressional investigator about steroids. Now, not necessarily about himself. Apparently, it was about a teammate he lied about. He is scheduled to appear in court today where he's expected to plead guilty. Really? So, yeah, this is a misdemeanor charge, though. It's not like a like line to a grand jury, which that's a felony. Right. Which Barry Bonds is going through. This is a misdemeanor, so he'll probably get probation and stuff like that. Not really serving in jail time, but just another black eye for baseball. That is brutal, dude. Not good. You guys remember I was just telling you about Antonio Margarito and the controversy surrounding his hand wraps? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And how there might have been like a plaster, you know, type thing on it. Well, him and his trainer has been suspended for a year for tampering with his hand wraps before the fight with Shane Mosley. So he did put something on him. They found something was suspicious. Dude. And that's not good because what it does is it makes your hands like cement. You know, that's a weapon. Bricks, yeah. That's bad. Very bad. Yeah. Brian Giles is now counter-suing his ex-girlfriend. Remember his ex-girlfriend came out in the...
The paper, how he's suing her and said he abused her and all that stuff. Right. He's saying, actually, it's me that was abused. Are you serious? Oh, wow. He's countersuing, saying that he was physically abused by her. And he is also suing for his diamond engagement ring that he gave her back in 2005. Wow. a fun time. It's probably the headlines you don't really want to be generating. Hey, dude, I heard you're suing your girlfriend because she beat you up or she abused you or whatever. Which isn't okay, but still it's not the greatest headlines you want to be generating. Cleveland's Mo Williams is going to replace injured All-Star Chris Bosh in the All-Star game. Apparently Chris Bosh not being able to play. Mo Williams is going to step in and take his spot. It looks like the Angels are going to sign outfielder Bobby Abreu to a one-year deal, so that takes away from the Yankees. The Texans part ways with running back Amon Green. They cut him. I mean, he's been injured like every single year that they have him, so it doesn't surprise me. Now, here's something that's kind of interesting that they've added to the All-Star weekend. You know how they have the slam dunk competition and the three-point shootout and all that? They're adding a new game. What is it? You want to know what it is? Okay. Horse.
I knew it. Oh, that's crazy. That is awesome. Now, for those of you who don't know what horse is, it's where you do, like, trick shots. And if whoever you're playing against can't replicate that shot, they get a letter. And so if you miss your first shot, you get an H. If you miss the second shot, you get an O. And so on until you spell out horse. Right. So they're having three people. Three all-stars compete in horse. Oh, I want to be one of those all-stars. It's the Thunders, Kevin Durant, Grizzlies, OJ Mayo, and the Hawks, Joe Johnson, who are going to be doing that. Wow, dude. Yeah. That's a trip, man. I've heard of it. But I never knew what it was. Oh, yeah. I used to play that as a kid all the time. Me, too. Yeah, dude. It sounds fun. It would take me two days probably to spell the word horse. No. Well, no. You get a letter when you lose. When you miss it. Oh, yeah. Then I'd probably win really fast. Yeah, yeah. I'd be good to go. I'd be good to go. Guys, I have breaking sports dirt news as we speak. What's up? I want to try and not get emotional about this. Oh, no. This is very tough. Oh, no. Yeah.
Let me guess. What is it? Well, Eddie's emotional. He only gets emotional about one guy. Oh, no. Oh, no. It's okay. Apparently, Brett Favre has instructed his agent that he's going to inform the Jets that he is going to retire. Wow. Is it real retirement this time? What are we talking? Is he just kidding? How do we know? Mike, play my song. Play my song. Play my song. Play my song. Okay, okay. Oh, man. So is he going to cry again? Brett Favre should retire. It's emotional. It's emotional every year he retires. He doesn't retire every year. You're a jerk, Rob. You'd think he'd get used to it after a while. Not being so emotional. Eddie, do you think that there's any chance that he will not actually retire? Not this time. I mean, he would be... He means it this time. He would be ripped apart. Yeah. He really super means it. I don't know. Yes. Oh, don't play this. Well, I remember when Rob first released this song.
released it. And I thought, wow, this guy's really making a big deal, but here we go again. He's an angry guy. I thought it was his song. That's the truth right there. Give that man a TV job right away. Just want to stare at him. Dude.
So now what, Eddie? What next for the Jets? They are in a tough situation now. Are they in a pickle? They're in a bit of a pickle. I don't know why. It's a legitimate question. I'm here for you. Yes, they're in a pickle. Now I understand. All I know is that this is going to be a very emotional day for a lot of people. It really is. I'm sorry, Eddie. Sorry. It's a tough one. Well, I mean, really on their roster, they don't have much. They drafted Eric Ainge out of Tennessee last year who was a rookie, didn't really play at all. They have Kellen Clemens still on their roster who didn't light any fires on anybody. It's just, yeah, they're in trouble. I think they're going to have to either look to trade for somebody or go the way of the draft again. I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious. They're really serious. They certainly are. They're actually getting really serious over there. Well, there it is. Our phone number, 570-1053. Bet you A-Rod's like, oh, thank you, Brett. For real. Thank you. For real. That is really true. Yeah. He was hating it. Oh, dude, New York. The media was, they, this is crazy. One of the, I think it was The Post or one of those magazines in New York.
Their headline was A-hole. Oh, my God. That's awesome. Are you for real? I got to have my mom mail me that book. I was like, wow. I'm keeping that. That's a little much. That was definitely the post. That is not a little much. That is a little true. Okay. The New York Post, they have some pretty sensational headlines. I couldn't believe that. I was like, oh, I want that as a poster. Are you ready to do a little You Got Rob? What? No. on Decent Society. Not very many people talking to Rob, but I do have one good cut. But he wasn't having a lot of luck out there. Nah, man. It's a weird day. It's the economy. It is the economy. I think it makes people feel like they just don't want to talk. Let's see. Where can I find this, Ash? Where is this clip? Front page. Bottom purple. There's two. I don't know which one you want. Yeah, what's in there?
Oh, I don't know. The paper has one. Oh, you told me to. I just gave you exactly what I was asking. No, I know. The paper only has one of them, though. I don't know which ones. I don't know what's what. The same question. All right. The economy, man. It's affecting everything. Let's take a listen. Hey, Roy, it sucks. Oh, my. Oh, come on. Is he nuts? By the way, you can see this at MikeyShow.com. The video is up. There's a dance that he does with us. He does a dance. Fantastic. It's awesome. There might be a dance. The video is up. Here we go. Boston Rob out here live with Malik. All right, Malik. There's a lot of controversy surrounding A-Rod right now because he's admitted to using steroids. And just curious, what are your feelings on steroids in baseball today? Well, I feel that if steroids are illegal, then they should be also illegal in baseball. And I know one of the issues that people are saying is that a lot of the steroids at the time were legal in baseball. And I think that that is really something that the commissioner needs to clean up. And I agree with you because...
steroids can cause some rage and I heard that A-Rod's roid rage started a slap fight between him and Derek Jeter in the clubhouse but it's okay because they kissed and made up He's so stupid. You are so dumb. He's making jokes to entertain himself. Only himself. Because when he says it, you can watch the video on MikeyShed.com. The guy just looks at him. No reaction. The guy just looks at him. Oh, man. Let's take a listen. Me, me, me. I'm Boston Rob, and I'm out here with... Erica. Erica, it's very nice to meet you. And I was wondering... Concerning all this stuff surrounding A-Rod and his admittance to steroid use, what are your feelings and your thoughts on steroids in baseball? They can do what they want, but eventually someone's going to find out, and then it doesn't matter how far you hit that ball, you're not playing ball anymore. And there's also horrible, you know, after effects to using steroids, because I heard that A-Rod's baseballs got so small that even Lance Bass was breaking his balls, literally.
Well, they also get back pimples and, you know, probably chicks don't want to be around them, I'm sure. No, no, no. He was dating that guy Madonna for a while. Chicks don't want to be around him. Would you agree with me that A-Rod looks like a Puerto Rican Lance Bass? What? He'd probably be a good guy to have a guy get banned. A boy get banned. What? This is ridiculous. You're ridiculous. You're ridiculous. Oh, man. If you want to see You Got Robbed. Yes, go check out my dance. Go to MikeyShow.com. It's all there. And also, if you go to MikeyShow.com and you want to nominate somebody to get a free dinner from the Pample Moose Grill, all they'll be responsible for is booze tax and tip. Enter for two on Valentine's. Yeah. Just go to MikeyShow.com and nominate somebody that you feel, you know, deserves it. It's a way for you to give to others for Valentine's Day, and you can do it right now at MikeyShow.com. What's a P1? Frankly, with a price that good, your New Year's resolution to diet is economically imprudent. Crispy shrimp is back, only at Rubio's. Rock 105.3 Traffic. you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, the ride is starting to improve. However, South 15 is still just a struggle at Escondido from El Norte Parkway for a tough ride all the way down to your Rancho Parkway. The coaster ride South 5 is looking pretty good here for you. The East County is moving well. 805 northbound, just a minor delay out of Kearney Mesa now as you head up over the 52. Still going to find some brake lights in the northbound 5, though, coming up past the Temple up towards Genesee. And it looks like this 5 freeway also is still a little bit coming out of the South Bay briefly through National City. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwood 053. It's the stupidest stuff that makes me laugh. We have the tree on the line right now. What? Is this the tree? You guys, this is the Encinitas tree. It's okay. It's okay. Are you on your cell phone? Okay, gotcha. Why are you... I know. Why are you whispering? You alright, tree? Sounds like...
He sounds like Blair Witch Project Tree. Yeah. Like he's got a video camera under his tree nose. Yeah. Snot is coming out. Snot is coming out. He's got a beanie. There's sap. Yeah, that's sap. Oh, sorry. Oh, man. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105.3. This is my Uncle Frank Pantangeli. Okay. There he is. It's Uncle Frank. Okay. So what do we got? What do we got? A couple of things that I wanted to talk about. First of all, this deal that is happening in Georgia with this peanut company. Oh, my gosh. With a salmonella outbreak. Is it one, like, plant? It's one company. Yeah, it's like one peanut butter company called the Peanut Corporation of America. And basically, the reason this hasn't affected, like, Jif and Skippy and stuff is because they... They're made in Taiwan.
Probably. I don't know where they're made. According to Sky. I did not say that. Sky at Mike's show dot com. Yeah, but this peanut butter corporation of America, their peanut butter is basically more of like a wholesale peanut butter. So people like. you know, Kraft or say a big company like that will buy it and then they'll make their little snack crackers with it. So they don't make it in like the jar normally. They make it in like other products. Yeah, they like sell it wholesale and then people will put it in their ice cream and their dipper snacks and their cracker combos and stuff like that. Oh, no, not dipper snacks. It would be nice. Snacker combos? Oh, no. How great would it be if there was a chocolate factory right next to the peanut butter factory and you could smell them both mixed together? Yeah. They'd do it. Be nice. Yeah. What? Yeah, well, this peanut butter corporation of America, it's getting bad. If you haven't heard for some reason, there's like the salmonella thing that's been going on forever. Tons of people have been sick. Like they think about eight people have died linked to this. And the recent thing this week with this is the other day the FBI raided.
their warehouse and their headquarters. There's an FBI investigation going on because they're wondering how could your stuff be tainted for months and months and nobody caught it. Nobody noticed that there was salmonella in your stuff for like months and you just kept shipping it out. How did that go on? They're like, we weren't eating it. It had salmonella. That's gross. There's a pig running around here. We were wondering whose that was. So the FBI is now investigating and did a raid on their place. And then today, the CEO of the company is in Washington for a hearing in front of a Congress committee about how this all happened. They should be all responsible. Oh, please. People die. So many people are sick, you know. They said the warehouse was filthy, like roaches and crazy. Those families of the people that died, I would be like, where's my lawyer? Dude, of course. Of course. That's wild. Yeah, and plus, you know, you got to make sure that you're cleaning all your...
In all of that stuff. Clean your nuts. Yes. It's true. That's their slogan, right? Oh, man. That's their slogan. Our nuts are clean. You can check. Ew. And so the other peanut butter companies, they're mad too because of people like Jif and Skippy who have nothing to do with this. Their sales have kind of plummeted. They say like 20%. What about Peter Pan? How are they? Well, I think all peanut butter is suffering because nobody wants to take a chance even though they have nothing to do with it. I'm not talking about the peanut butter. I'm asking you how Peter Pan is doing. How is Peter Pan? Well, he's in Never Neverland. How am I supposed to know? I thought you were one of the Lost Boys. Well, first of all, I'm a woman. But you are one of the Lost Boys as well. Hello. Yeah, I think it's quite evident. Okay, let's just all calm down a little bit. I'm not a Lost Boy. I'm not from Never Never Land. And I'm not a vampire either. Because I know you're going to ask that next. Scott, you eat peanut butter stuff, don't you?
Yeah, I do. I do. Well, so I bring peanut butter from home to dip, like, my carrots in. Almost every day. Yeah, and I'm okay with that because I know my GIF is safe. I get the crunchy, if anyone's wondering. I was just about to wonder. Oh, well, please, please, crunchy. Because I almost got some peanut butter the other week, but someone was talking. They were like, don't buy any peanut butter. No, no, that's not the deal at all. See, I knew it. I knew someone said it. But I do trip out because I eat the South Beach peanut butter bars, and I wonder about that. You have some. Well, but I Googled it, and they said that wasn't part of the recall. Sorry, bro. I'm done. I don't know if this is true. You can never substantiate stuff, but I think that we actually have Mr. Peanut on the line. Wait. What? The actual Mr. Peanut? Yeah, the Mr. Peanut. The top hat? Yeah, with the top hat and the whole thing. You've got to be kidding. And the monocle? Hello, Mr. Peanut, are you there? It is me, yes. Oh, very proper. Hello, Mr. Peanut. Well, it's wonderful to be on with you. This is an honor. I mean, I think that out of everybody, this is important that we talk to you. Yeah. How are you doing? I'm doing well, but I've been mistreated, and so I'm a bit nervous. Yeah.
Kind of bear with me for my nerves. I'm very nervous. It's a safe place, Mr. Peanut. We've talked to quite a few people, me and my publicist here. So we're just afraid of you saying something that could be abusive to me. Well, we'll try not to do that. It is a tough time to be in the peanut world, I'm guessing. It is, especially with what's happened at the plant. And I can tell you I'm good authority because I actually live and work. plant. Mr. Peanut actually works at the plant. Yes, I do. And so I've got some information that perhaps not everyone knew about. Like what? Well, like all of this links back to Michael Jackson. I don't know that that's true. It is true. He fell into a vat of nuts while he was touring the factory. Is that right? Yes, and we have it under very credible information that he sweats... Salmonella. I don't know. Wait a second. Were they the miniature nuts? Like the little nuts? Yes, they were. Then I believe it. Then I believe it. That is not cool. For the record, Opie and Anthony just used the same joke. Oh, really?
So you're doing a media tour? Yes, I am. Yes, I am. That's impressive. It's weird how we always get the guests right after opiate. Yeah, that's right. Dave, jelly and chainsaw are next. It's jelly. No, he was right. It's not jelly. I'm glad it's not jelly because I hate jelly. You do? Why do you hate jelly? I'm actually very upset about the treatment from your government. I fear all of you are peanutists. Wait a second. Wait a second. And I don't see a crusade for Mr. Goodbye. God forbid my arch enemy, Jelly. Wait, I thought you guys were good together. I thought it was always peanut butter's fault. Why not Jelly? Why not Jelly? Why not Jelly? He's so angry at Jelly. You're Peanuts. We're not Peanuts. How dare you? Stop saying that word. Let me tell you something. It was absolute rubbish the way that the police were failing about in here. They were coming in here and busting in and they made the peanut M&Ms take off their shelves. You're kidding me. They've accused me of having drugs in my top hat. I had some weed in there.
And they took my hat off my head and they stomped on it right before my eyes. That's awful. It was absolutely horrendous. And then they addressed me as three eyes because of my spectacle. That's terrible. It was just dreadful. I wish I could sop up all of the mean things that they've done inside of a rag and then slap them in the face with it. It's just atrocious. It's absolutely atrocious. I can't believe they've done it. So, Mr. Peanut, what did the FBI actually find? That's a legitimate question. I know. That's why I asked. That's a legitimate question. The FBI took a lot of personal affects of mine. Is that so? Yes, in the drug burst. You call it a bust. I call it a burst. And it wasn't a drug bust. It was a drug burst. It was a drug burst. It was a salmonella. It was a salmonella burst. And they came in. And you're not going to believe what they. What? They confiscated my monocle. Oh, no. That's your signature, man. And my top hat. Oh, now they look mean.
And even my cane. Well, what do you have left? You're just a peanut now. No, Eddie, you don't even understand the worst of it. What? The worst part is they made me remove my shell. Really? Like the M&M? Yeah. Oh, you sound very upset. Okay. We got it. I think there's someone you can talk to about that. I felt so violated. Is that right? Yeah, there's counselors for that. Then listen to me. The dreadful FBI, what did I just say? I don't know. It was kind of like a, you sounded like Sky for a minute. Oh my goodness, that's funny. I'm not doing anything. Now that you mention it, that's a pretty good one. Don't encourage that. As you were saying. As I was saying, the dreadful FBI agent that came in here, he took me back to the FBI. This is Mr. Peanut, by the way. Yes, yes. He took me back to the FBI headquarters. Is that right? And I was standing there in a room with him while I wore rubber gloves, and he performed what he called a cavity set. Oh, wow. How do you do that to a peanut? Well, that's what I said.
I said to him, I informed him that I did not have the particular body part, which would require said invasion, in which he replied to me, heard it all before, buddy. Oh, no. How mean. How mean. Are you okay? No, I'm not. You sound so traumatized. You sound very upset. I'm not. Oh, no. They haven't given me my clothes back yet. What, clothes or your shell? My monocle and my shell and my forehead. You're a shell of a peanut, isn't it? Lots of time, Eddie. I'm sorry. He's in a sensitive state. I'm sorry, Mr. Peanut. That was so insensitive. I'm sorry. Is there a Mrs. Peanut? There is not a Mrs. Peanut, as a matter of fact. Are you a little... She was... No, she was... Rob. Yes, there's a Mr. Peanut. There's two Mr. Peanuts? Now you've offended him. I'm sorry, Mr. Payton. I know you didn't want to talk. His publicist said he didn't want to answer. Really? Is this Howard or Robin? Which one is it then? Which one is it? if your check engine light is on. But it's not just about transmissions, which is what that check engine light usually means. It's also about oil changes and brakes and tune-ups and cooling systems and stuff like that. But here's the great thing about Amco. They don't want to fix what isn't broken. And that is such an awesome thing when you consider that if you go to the dealership, a lot of times that's what you're going to get. You're going to get them... Basically wanting to replace stuff that you don't have to have replaced. Now, if you don't believe me, just a testament. You probably have this experience. You probably have that experience. And so I'm going to tell you this. If you check engine lights on, take it to Amco, and they're going to tell you why it's on for free. And if they need to do any additional diagnosis, then just mention to them that you're a P1. And if you tell them you're a P1, you're going to get 10% off on those repairs. So remember them. Mikey's show 360 is what are people talking about? What's the big thing out there? What is the water cooler chit chat? What are people talking about? And there's actually a few things. First of all, I got to talk about this video that got sent to me by P1 Quimby. And listen, people know you get forwards all the time, right? You get forwards all the time. Most everything you've seen, and many times, I'm not saying all the time, but many times, what many, many people may find to be hysterical, you're like, eh, whatever. That's half good. Whatever. But this one is pretty good. It's a winner? This one's a winner. Okay, good. This one's a winner. If you want to see it, go to MikeyShow.com. M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com.
In the section called new on the show, you are going to see a hilarious video of a kid that has just gone to the dentist. It says hilarious YouTube video of a kid after going to the dentist. Now, this is I'm guessing this kid's dad. How old would you say the kid is? Five. Yeah. Between five and seven, maybe. Yeah. Between like five and seven. And he's gone to the dentist and dad had the presence of mind. And I'm guessing what happened is he probably heard him for a couple of minutes and said, I got to capture this moment for when he's older. Yeah. Apparently when he went to the dentist, they gave him some sort of laughing gas or something. I don't know. I think he got some like serious dental work done. We're not talking just Novocate. Yeah. Because he has stitches. Yeah. Okay. That's the worst. But if you're a parent, if you're not a parent, you know, doesn't matter who you are, this is pretty funny. Really? Listening to this kid in the back seat. Yeah, I know. How did it go? Yeah. Kind of felt good, didn't it? He's waving his head around. Is this real life? Yeah, this is real life. Okay, now, after. Good.
Four fingers. Don't touch that. Don't put it in your mouth. He's just staring at the camera. You feel good? Head drooping a little. Yes, you can. Now he's sitting up. Okay. And now he's sleeping. You just woke up. You don't? No? Uh-huh. Yes. Yeah, don't touch it. Don't. Because it'll mess up the stitches. Yeah. It's okay, bud. It's just from the medicine. Okay? It's not going to be forever. No, it won't be forever. That is hysterical. Dude, you have got... That is hysterical. That was my exact experience after I got my wisdom teeth out. Dude, I'm telling you. You have got to go see this. Holy crap. It's fantastic, you know?
So that's great. Oh, my gosh. My wife thought that was maybe the cutest thing. Oh, my gosh. Is that funny? Really funny. OK. Now, Eddie, you got to help me with this Obama clip. Now, what exactly is this? I saw this on the news last night and I had to grab it because it was so crazy. Obama was at like some town hall meeting. Yeah, he's been going across the country doing town hall meetings, talking about the economic stimulus plan. And, you know, like I think he was in Florida yesterday where they really hit hard by foreclosures and just wanting to talk to people. So he's at this town hall meeting and this kid, and I say kid, he's like a teenager. He's probably like 17, stands up. He's got a Obama shirt on. It says King Obama. And he's maybe the most excited person on the planet. to talk to our president. So, all right, right here, the guy with the cap. Oh, it's such a blessing to see you, Mr. President. Thank you for taking time out of your day. Wow. Oh, gracious God, thank you. Oh, wow. All right, what's the question? Oh, no, wait.
That kid is crazy. That kid is crazy. Oh, wow. Is this kid grateful? Oh, dude. Oh, is he grateful? It's the best day of his life. And so how is Obama? Is he just laughing at him? He's like, oh, wow. That was not, I wasn't expecting that. Wow. Mr. President, my name is Julio Acegueda. I'm currently a student at Edison State College in my second semester. And, okay. All the Edison State College fans in the house. I've been at the same job, which is McDonald's, for four and a half years because of the fact that I can't find another job. Now, with the fact that I've been there for as long as I've been there, do you have any plan or any idea of making one that has been there for a long time receive any better benefits than what they've already received? What? I'm sorry? I don't understand the question. The thing that I'm really interested in is you say you're... You're going to school. What are you studying? I'm looking to study and majoring in communications, hopefully being a broadcaster or a disc jockey. Well, you sound like you've got a good communication skill. Thank you so much. Wow. Oh, man. Wow. Rob, you're out. Dude, hello. See you later. I want to hear this guy. Oh, wow. In terms of McDonald's, buy your own damn fries. Dude.
When's the Madrid coming back? Oh, that's fantastic. I'm sorry. I have to hear it again. I have to hear it again. All right, right here. The guy with the cap. Oh, it's such a blessing to see you, Mr. President. Thank you for taking time out of your day. Yeah! Thank you so much. Wow. He sounds like that actor Giovanni something. Giovanni, Giovanni, Giovanni. Giovanni Ribisi? Yeah. The little brother to Phoebe and friends? That's what I was going to say. Totally. What's the question? Mr. President, my name is Julio Asegueda. I'm currently a student at Edison. Julio Asegueda. Yeah, you are. You might consider a different name for radio. What? Julio Asegueda. It's not necessarily one that you remember very easily. It goes right off the tongue. It does, but it's hard. I don't know. State college in my second semester. Yeah! Okay, I've been at the same job, which is McDonald's, for four and a half years because of the fact that I can't. Eddie, what did he look like? Like, what did he look like? He actually looked like a, kind of like a white kid. I was kind of surprised when he said his name was Julio Asegueta. He kind of looked like a white kid. Very clean cut. He was wearing a ball cap. He had an Obama black t-shirt on. I so didn't picture that. I know.
I pictured like almost short dreadlocks or something, you know? Not at all. I don't know. It was almost like a crew cut haircut. So his eyebrow wasn't pierced? No. Wow. Another job. They don't allow that at McDonald's. With the fact that I've been there for as long as I've been there, do you have any plan or any idea of making one that has been there for a long time receive any better benefits than what they've already received? The guy is excited. Even Obama's like, I can't ask you. Yes, I got it. Looking to study and majoring in communications, hopefully being a broadcaster or a disc jockey. Well, you sound like you've got a good communication skill. Thank you so much. Do you know Ricker? Oh, that is the best. Could you introduce me to him? Dude, does he ever answer that kid's question? I don't think so. I don't think so. He's so wigged out by that kid. That was crazy. It was awesome. You're like, oh, have you met my secret service? Yeah, dude. That was nuts. Gangster. Yeah, what's popping? Gangster. Where is what's popping? Oh, there it is. There it is. This guy's going to start a riot to this song. She loves this.

Thank you, kind gentlemen. Scarlett Johansson. Scojo. Yeah, Scojo. I love it. You know, Scojo. Yeah, totally. Well, you know, the men, they love them some Scarlett Johansson. Hell to the yes. And the women do, too. Yeah, I mean, I think she's gorgeous. Yeah. Ashley? She's all right. I think other girls are a lot prettier. Like Kirsten does. Oh, no. Eat your own face. Eat your own face. Wow, you were just insulted. We already know that Scarlett Johansson is an absolutely gorgeous singer. Cue the bobbin clip. So, John's singing. Oh, wow. So, she is revealing her workout plan. What does she do to stay looking like Scarlett Johansson? Well, she did an interview with In Touch magazine where they ask her, you know, a bunch of different things, including her feeling on her body. And she says she's OK with her body and women should have curves and stuff like that. And so they ask her, do you diet? Her response is, quote, I have never been on a diet in my whole life. End quote. Oh, you're the best. Goes on. Well, then.
Do you have to work out a lot? Quote, I've seen gyms only from the outside. I feel very comfortable with my body. End quote. Oh, you are the best. You are the worst. Good for her. You know, keep that kind of stuff to yourself. She gets to eat and just be gorgeous. That's so cool for her. Yeah, that's great. That's right. Awesome. Yeah, you're a magician. Whatever. We love that. We love that, Scarlett Johansson. Come on, ladies. Don't be like this. Yeah. Well, maybe she shouldn't be like that. Wait, perfect? Yeah, maybe she should have flaws like the rest of us. Ladies don't like it when other ladies don't have flaws. This may get your attention. This got my attention. The wording of it is just perfect. Ashley says in her yesterday email, had a bowl of raisin bran with 1% milk that said sell by 2209. I want to remind you, she had this raisin bran yesterday on the 10th. Okay. Now listen to this. No, no. She says, but I smelled it. Smelled it. Smelled it. Poured it. Smelled it some more. Come on. It seemed fine, so I drank it. What the? Nothing wrong with that. You don't want to put anything to waste. Oh, my gosh. You really are a hobo. Dude, she is something else. What's the problem? She's eating sour milk. Let me tell you. I'm trying to picture her like.
That was exactly what I did. That's a nice bouquet. Odd. Okay. I don't know. Bunky. Okay. All right. Foreign. Foreign. Not from here. You're a tourist. Okay. And down the hatch. Yeah. And then when she had to start chewing the back. Oh, dude. No, I mean, it seemed fine. I need to rethink our friendship. I'm telling you, Skye. I'm telling you. I had to get that calcium. Let me tell you. There are certain things that I just, I don't, you know. Sour patch milk. Yes. I don't go there. I do not go there. Let's see. Skye says that she went and got her hairs did yesterday. She did? Yeah. Why up in a bow? In a bow? A basic translation, why does it look like crap then, Skye? No, why is it in a ponytail? Why is it in a ponytail? You usually show it off. And I have another question. Where's Savannah? Now you're yelling. Well, where's Savannah? When you get the hairs did, we usually see Savannah, which is Skye's naturally curly haired. And when she gets her hairs did, she will sometimes straighten the hair. And we get to see her.
Her alter ego, Savannah. Well, the last couple times I straightened it, the boo was not a fan. He was like, why did you do that? My husband, the boo. I thought he liked it. He liked it the first couple times, you know, because it was like another chick, you know? Wow. I mean, man, she just put that out there. Who says that? Is that what he told you? No, he didn't say that. I thought he said that? Oh, look, it's another woman. Hey, don't tell my wife you're here. I'm so lucky. So, yeah, so he's over here. over it so i don't do that to him anymore it freaks him out too much um and then um i've been going to this new hair guy um for i don't know maybe like six months or so i don't know maybe longer than that and after he cuts my hair he doesn't really put any product in it and my hair needs a lot of product to keep it together and not the disaster and so um so it was ponytail morning this morning you look great frizzy or something
Yeah, if I, like, left it down, it's, like, so soft. It's, like, frizzy everywhere. Oh, it's like a downy. It's like downy. It's like fresh downy. It's like you have a little teddy bear on your head. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. I just did the stupidest thing ever. I turned my computer off, not realizing that I can't play the clip. I can't play the clip. I can play a clip. Can you? From Nineball? Yeah. Can you gimme? Gimme, gimme, gimme. Because Eddie watched Idol last night, right, Eddie? Oh, yeah. And there's a couple of things. There's a couple of things that are pretty interesting here. First of all, Eddie was saying that they are not necessarily putting people through based on talent. What? Not at all. Well, Ashley knows what that's like. Wait. Oh. Ashley. What? How do you know what that's like? I don't know what she's referring to. Well, because she had a lot of talent and they didn't put her through. So obviously, obviously, there's shenanigans on that show. You're right. They mess with people. What they do is they tell people. Who's that frog orphan you were just in? I just want to give that little boy some food.
What the hell was that? I'm version software version 7.0. No. No. Version 7.0. Oh, man. It's Yugoslavian Muppets. Yes. Yes. There's no talk. Okay. That's enough. Please. Well, Eddie, so. Last night, they put somebody through named Tatiana. Yes. They've been following this girl since she auditioned. And the thing about her is that she's not necessarily the best singer, but she's a super drama queen. Oh, her. And acts crazy. Always crying, almost bipolar. She'll be crying one second and then hysterically laughing. She's just weird, man. I can't understand why she keeps making it, but she made it again. Let's hear a couple seconds of her singing. Tatiana sings, I'm Your Baby Tonight. Do you have that one, Ashley?
She's loud. She's very loud. Even the judges are kind of like wincing. Yeah. What the heck? I think I did. She's a whack job. Very much so. And so, you know, like they're doing this thing where they keep showing her in one of the rooms. You know how they go into a room and they have like a group of people and everybody in that group is like, oh, great. She's in our group. We're all going home. But no, they kept her. They kept her. And I'm like, what is the deal? I don't get it. Ash, give me that bottom click of her cries before finding out she's in a room that's advancing. I mean, you know, these have been the last two days have just been treacherous and so hard. And I know that you guys have brought everything that you could and then some. I know how hard it is. Yeah. You should be thankful at least for that.
You know, because, I mean, you know, we took you guys through it these last days. It's okay. It's okay, honey. Don't. You know what? It's one audition, but it's one audition. Yeah. That will leave a lasting memory. And you guys did the best. You could, right? Yeah. And it's been tough. We did the best you could. We raised the bar every season higher. And this is season eight. It's tougher than ever for us. So, you guys are freaking out. It's harder than yes, sweetheart. Oh, wow. Honey, honey. It's hard, sweetheart. Yes. So, this is a no, right? No, it's a yes. Oh, wow. Did she actually die at that point? Pretty much. I mean, that is nuts. So messed up. So does Simon not take part in going into those conferences? He did it this time because they said he had to catch a plane. Oh, well then.
You have to catch a plane to Rich Town. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call. At the beginning and end of every show, we do open phones so you can call in about anything you want. And by the way, don't forget, if you want to nominate somebody to win a dinner for two on Valentine's Day night at the Pamplemousse Grill. which is my favorite restaurant in all of San Diego, man. That place is good. And they're going to have a fixed menu that night that's especially for Valentine's Day. Sick. And it's awesome, man. Jeffrey said he just wanted to put together the coolest stuff. He's the executive chef over there, man. It's great food. The people that you nominate, you just need to know, they will be in charge of booze, tax, and tip. And that's it. Food's on Pamplemousse. That's huge. Yeah, especially right now, man, with people and the economy. Plus, you know people. It's a great way for you to give. You know people that really deserve it. Yeah, definitely. We podcast the entire show, by the way. MikeyShow.com. Go to MikeyShow.com. You can catch the entire podcast. Everything we do here on the show is available through podcast, and you can listen to it. A couple of other quick things about the website. We're doing the Mikey Minute. Every day after the show,
kind of fill you in on what we did on the show that day. And then there's the Ashley After Show, which is also on video. And you can watch Ashley talk about, interview different people on the show about how they thought the day went. And if we have guests in studio, she interviews them. And finally, Mikey Science Theater 3000. It is phenomenal. It is me, Eddie, and Rob watching a video and just messing around and laughing to it. So make sure you check it out. 570-1053 is the number. P1 Peaches. What is up? Well, I figured it works for ale, so maybe I would try it, see how it goes. Yeah. What's up? Can I get serious with you guys real quick? Say something, make a serious statement. Yes. Sure. Okay. Mikey, holy crap, dude, do I appreciate your honesty and what you put on the air every day. What you were saying earlier about your son and when you guys were talking about the Chris Brown stuff, it just really touched me, and I appreciate how you put yourself out on the air like that because I could tell in your voice that you were struggling seeing it, and I just really appreciate it.
How open minded you guys are, because when you think about the Chris Brown stuff, it's like he wouldn't be acting like that if he wasn't hurting inside. And I think it's really important to have compassion when it comes to stuff like that. You know, I don't want to just so people are really certain, because I got a couple of emails where people were saying, you know, don't give this guy a break and blah, blah, blah. And here's the deal. I'm not I don't want anybody to think that I am in any way like trying to give Chris Brown a break. Oh, not at all. Not at all. I'm glad, man. And that ain't it. What my deal was, it doesn't matter who somebody is, when they are in the midst of hurting themselves, there's a difference between somebody beating somebody up and you going, it's okay, it's okay, he only did it because. That's not what I'm saying.
No, me neither. I know, I know, I know. For everybody listening that may have heard it and everything, I just wanted to reiterate that my deal with it is just saying, you know, I have compassion as a human being for somebody that is just hurting themselves. And that's where I was coming from on that one. And thank you, Peaches, for what you said. That means a lot to me. Well, I'm glad. Oh, holy crap. I forgot what I was going to say. That's all right. You did great. You did great. I really do appreciate what you guys put out there. And I do think it's important. It's really easy to say, oh, Chris Brown is such a monster. Oh, you know, he's this and he's that. But, you know, I don't think he deserves a break either. But at the same time, happy people don't abuse their loved ones. And I think it's important to remember that. That's true. All right. We appreciate it, Peaches. Thank you. Thank you, guys. Bye. P1 Ponce. Hey, how's it going, guys? Good, man. Hey, Eddie, I think the reason they keep putting that girl through is because next week they're going to do all the eliminations in that room. Yeah. And I think next year, next week when they eliminate, it's just going to be a huge scene. You think that's what they want? Oh, it's going to make way better TV. Yeah, you're probably right, which I just don't think is right. You know, they're messing with people's heads. That ain't right. It's going to be ugly, but you're right. It's the monster we've created in American Idol. That's true. All right, guys, have a good one. Hey, thanks, dude. P1 Proto Mom.
Hi, Mikey. How are you doing this morning? Good. Good. Do you remember about, I think it was about a year ago, you were talking about a documentary, and I think Sky had seen it too. It was Paradise Lost. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Both you guys saw that. Did you guys see the follow-up one, Paradise Lost Revelations? Yes. You did. Okay. Well, when I saw that, I was totally blown away. I don't, you know. Especially with Paradise Lost, Revelation, and a lot of evidence that they came up, the one lawyer that... Well, for those of people, there's a lot of people listening right now that don't have a clue what this is. I don't listen to the show, so I don't have any idea what you're talking about. You just started listening a week ago. Fill me in. Go on, Marky. It's a documentary on a murder case, a multiple murder case that happened in Arkansas. And it's a documentary that was made by the same guys that made the documentary on Metallica. And it's very, very well done. It kind of reminds me of one of those 48-hour mystery things like we were talking about the other day where like all the evidence points one way but somebody else is in jail type of thing. And, you know, without getting too much into it because nobody's seen it. Yeah, we can talk about it forever. But it really is a good documentary and I love documentaries and it was a pretty good one.
P1 Curse of Richard Simmons is on the line for our last call. Bring us home. I was asking a favor of you guys. It's my 21st birthday today, and my entire life I've had to deal with the troubles of my actual name being Richard Simmons. That is awesome. Your name is Richard Simmons? Yes. This is so often raised. It's like George Michael on Arrested Development. Yeah. Wow. Michael Bolton. Michael Bolton. Well, what can we do for you, Richard Simmons? I'm plot broken. I can't give my girlfriend anything for Valentine's Day this year. I was wondering if there was anything, any giveaways that you guys had. Yeah, have a friend of yours go on and nominate you to win the dinner at Pamplemousse. Yeah, you deserve it. Yeah, you definitely do. And have them say your name's Richard Simmons. Oh my, you're so teeny. Oh my. There you go. Oh my God. Thanks, man. I appreciate it. I'll talk to you later. Hey, the lovely and talented Missy is up next. And today on the show, it's the all-request lunch. So give her a call, make your requests, and we'll see you back here tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out. Love you, man.
