It is 6.05. Yesterday, a former student opened fire at Northern Illinois University, killing six students, then himself. Yeah, Northern Illinois officials canceled all of this weekend's athletic events as well, including two home Mid-American Conference basketball games. Let's get right into that. Let's find out what the deal is. I don't really know anything. I know it happened, but I don't know anything, man. No details. What happened? So yesterday, about 3 o'clock their time, a gunman dressed all in black came out from behind a curtain in a big lecture hall at Northern Illinois University and just started opening fire. With what, did they say? He had a shotgun and two handguns. Yeah. Wow. I definitely, yeah. So just crazy, just opening fire on the whole lecture hall there. I'll ask you details that maybe you know, maybe you don't. That's fine. Okay. But do they say what type of class, what type of lecture this was? It was an ocean sciences class. Okay. Was he a student? A former student. Graduated in the spring of 2007. They do know his identity, but they are not releasing it and say that their preliminary investigation didn't come up with any sort of police record on this guy. And it was an ocean science class? Uh-huh. I wonder what that is.
studying the science of the ocean um so open fire um shot 21 people uh six people died uh he also shot and killed himself um you know four people died there at the scene including uh the shooter and three died later at the hospital and as of now they say they have no idea what the motive is a lot of people want to know when stuff like that goes on they go well why is you know why is it happening why does that happen And I believe it happens because other people have done it. And so people go, well, that's, you know, it's this. Let me tell you something. If you've never heard of the book, The Tipping Point, you really should read it. It's a really interesting book, The Tipping Point. It talks about how stuff tends to take on a kind of a grassroots movement, starts to take on a life of its own.
And I'm not like when I first say grassroots movement, the first thing you think of is politics. And you go, oh, you mean like a campaign? Well, sure, that could be it. But not just that. In fact, in the book, the first two examples they give are of, you know what the shoes hush puppies are? Yeah. Hush puppies. You're familiar with hush puppies. Okay, well, they made a comeback in like 03 or something. And they were real hip. And they were coming out in different. Like they were coming out in the hip hop community. Then they made it to the everybody community. And then you saw everybody wearing them again. You hadn't seen them since the late 70s or maybe even earlier. And then they were like a part of American culture and they're still kind of around. Well, what they talk about in the book is how that started. They trace the roots of it to a shop in Manhattan that did it like kind of to be funny. And a very influential dude that lived in the neighborhood, young, bought a pair, and it spread and spread and spread. And it's now, I mean, it's part of our culture again. But that's where its genesis was. And they talk in the book about how it takes a few different people to be sort of the spark for certain stuff to start flying, right? So that's one example. Another example they used was,
In the city of Baltimore, gonorrhea. Now, right now, Sky was talking about the other day that there's an outbreak right now in San Diego of syphilis. Okay? What happens is there is this point, the tipping point, where it goes from being a couple of cases of syphilis in San Diego, but then a couple of very influential people, meaning A guy, maybe, or a girl who is very hot but also has a very dynamic personality has sex with a bunch of different women and suddenly you have an outbreak and you go over the tipping point. It takes certain people to help it but then it happens, right? Well, I kind of think that that's... a little bit to do with these shooting things. You hear about them, and it's funny because if we go a long period of time where you don't hear about shootings, and then one makes it in the news, for the next four or five or six months, you'll notice shooting, shooting, shooting, shooting. And it may even be the next year, over the course of the next year. Because we hadn't heard a lot in terms of school shootings since Virginia Tech.
And then after Virginia Tech happened, you were hearing malls, schools, places. I mean, I think on Monday somebody walked in and Oxnard and killed somebody, right? Yeah, it was Tuesday, yeah. Tuesday. So just this week, yep. And so I think that what happens a lot of times is nutballs hear it and they are very influenced by it and then they go and they do it. Makes sense. So it's very sad, man. It's so weird, too, because Eddie had a dream about this. similar type of shooting like just last night. Yeah, I didn't watch the news or anything last night, so I didn't find out about this school shooting until this morning. But what was weird is when I saw it is last night, I had a dream about like a mass style shooting, which, you know, I never have dreams like that, which is really weird. And yeah, so I was kind of tripping out this morning. Yeah, very sad news. And it was northern Illinois. Is that what you said? Yeah.
Okay, let's introduce everybody and get down to beeswax. My name's Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 37 years old, and I got on a thermal underwear top thing. What do you call it? Long johns. There you go. Long johns. Or thermal. Long john silvers. I got on a pair of long john silvers today. It's cold out. Awesome! And we're going through a thing at the house where we can't decide. in the daytime? Do we need the heater or do we need the air conditioner? Because it seems like every day it changes. Is it hot? Is it cold? What is it in San Diego? Can't make up its mind. Why do we have weathermen? Thank you. True. How can you be surprised by a storm? Yeah, of that magnitude yesterday. I don't understand. They had no clue it was coming. Yeah. What are you doing all day? I mean, dude, yesterday it was like Hurricane San Diego came through. It was crazy. Thunder, lightning, wind, rain. Snow. We didn't know. It was crazy. They were surprised. Yeah. Really? Oh. You got satellites, dude. Yeah, that's true. No, those kind of storms creep up on you guys. They do? I've seen it a million times. A million? One day, you're just having a great weekend. And next thing you know, the storm comes out of nowhere. So I don't blame these weather people. But it's a massive storm. No. It's not like it was a drizzle. It formed out of thin air.
Pretty much. There you go. Rob has got a degree in meteorologist. That's correct. It's actually weatherology. You know the meteorologist Whitney Southwick from NBC739? He told me one time off the air, we were standing outside, he was doing a broadcast, and he goes, you can't tell the weather after like three days. And I go, really? I go, what about like five-day forecast? He goes, that's dumb. I've heard that. As well, from other meteorologists. Yeah. They get, like, really pissed off because they got to do these five-day forecasts, and they know that they can't be that accurate. That's what he said. That sucks. Why do they have them do it then? I think at least I would rather, you know, not them guess. I'd rather just get three days. Why not do a 40-day if that's the deal? Oh, yeah. Exactly. As long as we're guessing. Here's your 40-day outlook. Listen, I don't know, but I bet it's sunny. Here's your 365-day outlook. Day 29, partly cloudy. That's right. Beware. Chances could be real bad that day, though. Got to be careful. Anyway, Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 34. What'd you do for Valentine's? Dude, I probably had the best Valentine's Day ever yesterday. Really? In my entire life. We just had a great, great day. We went to Roy's, which is the restaurant in La Jolla, where...
That was kind of where I took her for our first official date. And just great. I love that restaurant. It's such a good restaurant. Great atmosphere. Great people there. It's like Hawaiian fusion, right? Yeah, yeah. It's a trip. But food's always good. I've never had a bad meal there. So we just had a good time last night. And then went home. What did you order? I got the little surf and turf. Nice. There you go. Nice. Got the filet and lobster, man. Nice. So good. That's awesome. They got one of those Roy's out in Maui, too. Yeah, I think that was the first one. Really? Yeah. I've been there, too. It's good. Yeah, it's really good. But what's weird about the one in Maui is it's not on the water at all. There's no water. It's in a shopping center next to a round table. In fact, when I was saying it right now, I had a visual of it in my mind. Yeah, me too. And I was thinking to myself, I wish I lived two blocks from there. So cool. Skye is our news girl, and she does news, and she also enjoys some Outback Steakhouse. Well, she's a senior citizen, Mike, and so the seniors enjoy going to Outback at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and getting their earlier bird specials. There were no specials, and you had to get there at 4 o'clock unless you wanted to wait like 2 to 3 hours for a table last night. Or you could go to somewhere where they take reservations. But I want to go...
where I want to go. She wants to go to her favorite restaurant. I want my dinner like I want my dinner. Good joke today. She has to do it early, too, because she'll get hit with canes and walkers and crap like that if she gets into a fight. Four o'clock. That's got to be a sight. It was awesome. It was a great meal. We did get it. The Wallaby Darn? Duh. Give me a break. What is it, Wallaby Darn? Um, it's this, like, adult beverage they serve there that's kind of like a peach Slurpee with, like, vodka and champagne and peach schnapps. Yeah, but the Bunny Boo made us split a meal last night, so we could make sure to have room for dessert. Dessert was his priority last night, so I wasn't allowed to order my own meal. Why do you go along with that stuff? What am I going to say? Do whatever you want. You guys can afford it. What did you split? We had to split. Well, we split an appetizer of the coconut shrimp. And then we got one meal, which was the Victoria's filet with veggies and a salad. And we had to split it all. We couldn't even get an extra salad. Is this about money or is this about fitting food in the gullet? Probably both. And so, yeah. So, we had to share a steak, share the veggies, share the salad. Dinner was $8.94. I left him $9. That's right. So, he could then...
get his salad. You may keep that. So he could get his sundae. Nice. Which he ate to his dome. Is that what he says? What? What is that? Did you hear that? The door in Ashley's studio doesn't close. Can't you shove it so it closes? You can still hear people. It is closed. I'm writing Mark Mays this weekend. Oh, are you? CEO of Clear Channel. Call me if you want any help. A letter. No, that's probably a bad idea, Rob. What? No, I'm great at writing lettuce. I think I may have somebody that is, you know, a new person that I know that maybe doesn't know my rule about forwarding emails. Oh, no. Uh-oh. Did you just get one? Mm-hmm. That's just something you guys don't know, but that's a thing. It's like, what do you do? You get so upset. I do. I do because I struggle. You know, I struggle. I want to be a good person. And I so want God to be proud of me. I really do. And at the same time, I'm like, well, but God, you created me this way. This is who I am. I'm this guy. Okay, I get what you're saying. I don't want to stir it up. But is it that hard just to hit delete? Yeah, yeah. You know why? Why? Because if I hit delete, I have to open the email in order to see any of it. Otherwise, all I can do is see the subject.
It's not like Outlook where you see both. So you have to open it and then hit delete. I have to open it and see if there's something that is a message that is actually important that I need to read. Like, hey, see you next Tuesday. Oh, we changed the time. It's now at 3 o'clock. And by the way, here's an update about so-and-so. And enjoy this forward that you've seen before. Yeah. Or enjoy this forward that clearly is very meaningful to me. I know you're a busy person. And I don't think that there's anything wrong with not sharing a forward. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. So I don't share forwards. Out of 100% of my year, I would say that .0000001% of that is spent sending forwards. Because I'm convinced no one cares. They've probably seen it. Sean is our sound effects guy. He's 37 years of age. He's very tall. And he doesn't live in San Diego. He lives in the Bay Area. And then we look at him on a camera. Ashley is out sick today. She's got the flu. Bummer. Yeah. And if you ever go to that flu website that shows you a map of the United States. Yeah.
You can actually track where the flu is from day to day, man. You can go to that thing, and I'm telling you, the map will change colors on you over the course of a week. That's freaky. Don't go there, Sean. It'll freak you out. Oh, it will. I think that it's flights is what does it. Airlines. Oh, good. Flying this weekend. Me too. You both are? Yeah. You know, what's funny is that when, you know, this whole week since you were sick and I'm leaving out of town this weekend, I've been taking the little germ pills so that I don't get sick. Yeah. I feel good, so I'm hoping that I have a good weekend. Do you take any daily vitamin? No, not anymore. I used to. I'm convinced about those things. I'm convinced about those things now. Wow. I'm convinced. I read in Newsweek that vitamins that you eat in your food, What happens is you eat a piece of broccoli. Your body will take the vitamins out of it and turn those vitamins into stuff that fights off colds. The rest you poop. Okay? Okay. So you use it for energy, for the cold fighters, the beating fighters, the freedom fighters. What about the foo fighters? The foo fighters. You use some of it for the foo fighters. That's good. I like that.
And the rest is number two. But if you take a daily vitamin, it's really good because a lot of us, we don't necessarily eat a lot of broccoli every day. I know that I'm not necessarily a broccoli eater. And so you take that vitamin. I didn't get sick, man, for a year. I wasn't sick for a year. I finally got it because I just was around it too much. I was just around it too much. So anyway, Ashley's out today with the flu. Boston Rob's filling in for her. Oh, boy. Yeah. Everybody ready? Oh, boy. That's right. You know what's weird? I got a couple things to say this morning. Yeah. Started off with last night. I had a dream that I let the F word get out over the air. Oh, no. And this was before whatever even happened. So that like kind of freaks me out. This is before whatever even happened. With Ashley, let me. know that I was going to be filling in for it this morning. Okay. You know, so that kind of freaked me out when I got the call. Right. Then when you were just talking about airplanes spreading, uh, germs, germs, dude, me and my brother started working out together, you know? So yesterday we hit the gym real quick and another terrible place for germs. They're all over the place. Yeah. At the gym. Oh yeah, dude.
Oh, yeah. Sweating all over that equipment. People don't wipe it down. Well, and then during the time that they're working out, about a million times while they're working out, if they have a cold, they're going, and they're wiping their fingers. Because I always wipe their nose against their finger to go, like that. And then they lift weights. And then you lift weights, and now that's on your finger. And then later on that day, you might rub your eyes. Or you might rub your nose. And you... Now have a cold. Or lick your hand. Yeah. Yeah. Like maybe you're like me. Yep. You know, you take your thumb and your index finger and you're constantly sucking on them. Oh, wait. Just constantly. I don't think that's what Eddie meant. Absolutely no reason. It is what I meant. Well, anyway. 570-1053. Beginning and end of every show, we do open phone. You can call in about anything you want to. Were you done with telling that story, Rob? No, I didn't even get to the heart of it. Go ahead. My brother told me that a chick he works with was on that flight from Hawaii. Oh. The measles flight? Yeah. Did she get the measles? You can't tell for, I guess it's like, there's an eight to ten. Yeah, they said they should know this weekend who on that flight. Yeah, and most of those people on that flight to Hawaii were going to the Pro Bowl. Yeah, that's what it was. She went out there for the Pro Bowl. Isn't that crazy? But luckily they say those people aren't contagious either until like a couple days after getting it. So hopefully it didn't spread around the park.
Pro Bowl. Probably not. Probably not, you know. But if you didn't hear about that, there was a, you know, there's been this kids turning up with measles thing here in San Diego because some Yahoo brought it back from Amsterdam. And then a couple of people got on a flight here in San Diego and their child had the measles. And they went to Hawaii. I know it. That's why we can't let people into the country, Mike. Ay, ay, ay. Lock them all out. Listen, Sean is real big on immigration. I bet it has to do with germs from Mexico. Are you kidding me, dude? Like the Mexican cold is worse than ours. Uh-huh. I never thought of that, but that's okay. I'm with you, Sean. Thank you. I'm with you on that one. We're not allowed to vacation outside the U.S.? No, we can, but we really have to crack down on who's coming in here. Well, isn't that what happened? They went on vacation? Yeah. I mean, San Diego. No, absolutely. That's an example of that. So how's that any different? Well, because there's also examples of people from Amsterdam or wherever there are countries that don't have as strict laws as we do on health that want to come here. That's my point, Mike. We're the only country where people aren't trying to break out. We're the only country where people are trying to break in. But it's still not going to prevent anything. What do you mean?
If we're allowed to travel outside the U.S., it's not going to prevent things from coming here. Yeah, no, no, no. My point is not about travel. It's about really shoring up our immigration so that people aren't sneaking in here from places where they're bringing in. To prevent illnesses. But it won't prevent it is what I'm saying. Because you're saying that people will still, Americans will still fly there. Very true. However, however, it won't stop that. But what it will do. Yeah. My brain's not working as fast as my mouth. What it will do is it will, the more we shore it up, the more we are securing against people doing it. In other words, let me give you an example of what I'm saying. If we don't spray any raid around our house, the perimeter of our house, or if we are... Very lackadaisical. Let's say we do spray Raid, but we don't do it very often and we're not very good at it and we don't really put a lot into the spraying of the Raid. More ants are going to come in and some of those ants may contain disease. I'm telling you that that's the analogy. It is an analogy, but it's a crazy one. Because I'm comparing them to ants? Yeah, well that. You're saying...
America, which is what we were founded on, you don't want anybody else coming in. No, no, no. That is not what I'm saying. What are you saying? You see, let's take the analogy like this. We have a process at our house for letting certain ants come into our country since that's what our house, the Esparza house, is founded on. We want to let some ants come in. So what we've done is we've set up these practices that allows for those ants to come in in a way that we know that they're not the sick ones. We have a process. It protects the people in the house, Mike. Exactly, to protect the people in the house. So we have a process. Well, what's happened is that we've put this raid out, and what we do with the ants that we want to come in in our way is before they ever get to the raid, we don't want them to get hurt, before they ever get there, we have a process to bring them in safely. We built a little bridge over the raid. Exactly. Perfect. But what we're not doing very well is the whole raid process right now. And so some of them are coming in. When they come in, we don't stomp and kill them. In fact, some of them that come in are actually very beneficial to the house. But that doesn't mean that we can just allow them to.
I have a question, and I don't know if anybody knows this, but this is the first time I've ever thought about this. When you legally come to the U.S., are there, like, health screening things? Of course. From what I understand, there's Godfather 2 and Mike's dad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No. My dad was a doctor to make sure that the people didn't have something bad, and they actually, the Godfather had something bad. Oh, really? If it weren't for my dad. Really? And the Godfather 2. He saved a mic. Yeah, see, most of the people get to go right through. But if something's wrong with you, they put an X on your chest, they send you to the nurse. Interesting. Yeah. I didn't know that. This is a good country, man. We're real smart here. Yes. We do have it, for the most part, we have it figured out. And so, that's what it's all about. 570-1053 is our phone number. P1 Christy. Yes. What's up? Hi, I'm moving to Hawaii. Actually, I'm moving to Pearl Harbor, and I was wondering if you could recommend a morning show for me because I love you guys. You know, usually I can, but I'm not very familiar with the Honolulu market. It's a decent-sized market, but I don't know anybody there. And from my experience in Hawaii, the radio is like...
Well, I know the radio on most of the islands, Skies Right, is terrible. I've never heard radio in Honolulu, but I do know that Honolulu is a big market. Yeah, you have your best chances there. You have your best chances in Honolulu. Yeah, it's very different. What about you, Rob? You used to live in Hawaii. Yeah, I worked at a couple stations there, but I think since, because that was in 2001, they've all flipped. Oh, they're not even the same format anymore? It was a new startup, like, hip-hop station I worked at, and then the other one... I know there's a big rock station out there. Mm-hmm. Kapoi? No, I'm serious. That's where I worked. But since I left, the morning show got canned or whatever, and... They often do. Yeah. They often do. Uh-huh. Hey, when you get there, you just ask a couple people. They'll tell you what's up, Christy. Okay. There's a lot. You know, I know in Maui, when I change the radio around, it's a lot of hip-hop, man. Oh, yeah. Islanders love hip-hop. Uh-huh. So, all right. Thanks for the call, Christy. Good luck. Thank you. Listen to us online. That's right. Do that. P1 Goose. Yes, Mikey. My wife came home one day, I think it was last week, telling me that... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hang on. I just read that. And I had to put you down.
The reason that I don't want you to say what you're going to say is because I don't want you to say what the father does. Can you do that for me? Yeah, I can do that. Can I say he's... Don't, don't. Hey. Come on. Okay, okay, okay. I won't say. Don't say what he does for a living. Yeah, I won't say what he does for a living. So she comes home one day from work and she explains to me that one of the employees at her job... was going to the Pro Bowl. And I was like, oh, that's cool. And when he was trying to come back on, I think it was Sunday or Monday, they told him to turn around because his kid had the measles. He was the father of the kid that had the measles on the plane. How'd they figure that out? She didn't quite know, but she told me that they quarantined the whole family on the military base in Hawaii.
And I was like, well, why would they do that? I was thinking to myself about that, and then that's when they broke the news two days later. Yeah, and I was telling my wife about that, and nobody at her job knew about that, that he was the cause of the big measles outbreak on the plane back to Hawaii. How scary is that? That's crazy! Thanks for the call, man. P-1 Talon is hanging out in the studio with us because he won some... Did you win P-1 trivia or you just got to come hang out? No, I was just invited, Michael. That's right. He's a Hall of Famer. P-1 Talon is a Hall of Famer. And so he came out. He's hanging out in the studio. And did you get involved with the M-Tube at all, Talon? I was the props master for the Gangster Pandas. There you go. Props master. Very nice. That is one of the funniest videos, man. It's one of the finalists. Gangsta Pandas is one of the finalists. If you want to see all of the different videos, there's five of them that have made it into the finals for M-Tube. It's the videos promoting the Mikey Show. Go to MikeyShow.com and type in the keyword finals. And it'll take you right to all of them. And then you can vote for which one you want. And the winner is going to get a brand new HD camcorder. And man, are they funny.
We're going to be playing Boston Rob's new song, I Like Barack. It's the baby got back, but it's I Like Barack. That's awesome. So we're going to be doing that. We didn't get to it yesterday, so I wanted to tell you about the top Valentine's couples. Let us guess on who the top Valentine's couples are. What else have we got for you today? Your phone calls at 570-1053. In fact, I'd like you to call now. We didn't get to do a very big open phone segment. So call us. Let's get this thing fired up. And Stephen Wright's in the Stand-Up Spotlight. The Mikey Show Stand-Up Spotlight. I'm a little kid. I wish the first words I ever said was the word quotes. Right before I died, I could say unquote. Lots of my friends have babies, but I don't have any babies. But I have lots of friends. Babies don't have any friends. I'll have those baby monitors so they can hear the baby from the other room, which I consider a form of wiretap. Someday it's going to be a really smart baby that makes a fake recording of some fake baby noises. It's going to crawl out the window and go to eat one of those baby monitors from my subconscious to my consciousness so I can know what the hell I'm really thinking about. Sometimes I talk to myself fluently in languages I'm unfamiliar with just to screw with my subconscious. Say what you have to say and shut up.

Well, actually getting by with a fairly easy light commute in our city freeways here. It's pretty much not much going on here. All the action seems, well, the things that are happening you need to be aware of is because of the storms yesterday. Lots of closures in place here. We've got the eastbound 8 completely shut down at East Willows Road. They did have some escorts for a time getting you out of there, but they closed it off once again because of the black ice here along that stretch in slick conditions. So they're waiting until the sun comes up and melts it off a little bit before they start the escorts again on the eastbound 8. The 78 shut down completely between San Pasquale and Weekend Villa. The 76 is closed from Valley Center out to Lake Henshaw. But it is open to residents if you've got a proof of ID and where you're living up there. Restore freeways, as I mentioned, are pretty quiet here. The border wait is still an hour and a half at San Isidro, but a half an hour at Otay Mesa. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Is this Rebecca? Yes, it is. I understand that you went to sleep train. Yes, I did. What happened? Well, my husband and I went back last May. Um, we were just got married, so we bought our new mattress. We got a really good deal on it. They threw in, um, free sheets and pillows cause we said we heard about it through you. Um, and they also gave us the free mattress protector. So it was really cool. Um, and I referred my, my mom to go there cause she, um, is buying a bed for my grandmother just this last week. Um, and she went and to the Curdie Mesa store and they actually beat the price on Costco mattress. Um,
The Sleep Train was selling it for, I think, around $1,000, and then the Costco price was like $500-something, so they beat that, which is awesome. They just won Best Mattress Store, and there's a reason for it. They're really good. The prices are great, and if you're getting one of these good name brand mattresses, or no matter what you're looking for, they're great. How is that mattress in terms of being comfortable? It's awesome. I can't get out of bed in the morning. It's really comfortable. That is good stuff. Thank you. You got it. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. The Mikey Show continues featuring Mikey. I am a fat nerd and it's really okay for you to say hello. Welcome back to the show. It is 641. A New York lawyer has filed paperwork to try and get Brittany's case moved to federal court. Toby Bryant's hurt finger is worse than expected. He has a torn ligament. He's probably going to miss the All-Star game this weekend. Eddie, what's the deal with you and the B-Rob Challenge? When is this thing going to take place? I know we're doing it K-Racing, right? K-1 Racing in Carlsbad. It looks like we have an official date that this is going down. February 28th. February 28th. That's a Thursday, I think, right? I think it is because I...
I think the reason I know it is is because of the leap year thing. Yeah, you're right. February 28th is a Thursday. Cool. And so we're going to be doing the show from out there, right? Yep. And you and Rob will take each other on in go-kart racing. That is correct. I'm going to send him so hard into the wall. It's not even funny. That sounds dangerous. It is. It's going to be really dangerous. I don't know if you've heard about it by now, but Jane Fonda. Oh, man. I think maybe she is crazy. I think these old-time actresses and actors, they lose their mind a little bit. They don't realize what... Diane Keaton, remember when she did it? What are they thinking? Yesterday, Jane Fonda was on the Today Show. And this is what happened. Cut one.
I know when it started, there were some A-list celebrities who came out to help you, but Jane, you at first were not a big fan of the play, so what turned you around? Well, it wasn't that I wasn't a big fan. I hadn't seen the play. I live in Georgia, okay? I was asked to do a monologue called ****, and I said, I don't think so. I've got enough problems. But then you were invited to go see it. Yes, then I came to New York to see Eve, and it changed my life. Okay, the word that you do not hear that is bleeped there is the quote-unquote C word, and you can figure that one out on your own. But this is big news today. This is making news today because it's a pretty huge story when an A-list celebrity comes on the national television, live television, and drops that one. Well, you know, you hear a lot of curse words. The C word isn't one you hear very often. No. So later in the show, on the Today Show, they had Meredith Vieira issue an apology. Cut to. Before we go to break, in our last half hour, we were talking about the vagina monologues and...
Jane Fonda inadvertently said a word from the play that you don't say on television. It was a slip, and obviously she apologizes, and so do we. We would do nothing to offend the audience, so please accept that apology. And when we come up, we're going to be talking about the secrets to making your love last. A little story, of course, this is today. See, I thought she more advertently said the word. It was blatant. Yeah, I mean... It was a slip. Yeah, inadvertently means that, oh, it was sort of a byproduct and wasn't really. No, I don't know about that one. Eddie, I don't know if you've heard about this yet, but Mitt Romney has endorsed John McGaigne. Really? Yes, he has. Well, I think the deal is, I actually saw this as a pretty unselfish move. He says, listen, I don't want Hillary in there. I don't want Barack in there. I have to support the person that I feel is best for the job for the party. And so there he is up there. And you know, Eddie's right. I think they despise one another, McCain and Romney. But he said, I got to do what's right for the party. Cut 17. This isn't my first joint appearance with Senator McCain, but it promises to be one of the most pleasurable. I am honored today to give my full support to Senator McCain's candidacy for the presidency of the United States.
I'm officially endorsing his candidacy. And today I'm asking my delegates to vote for Senator McCain at the convention. And there was an ambulance in the background, apparently, as he was doing it. Yeah, just in case. Just in case. Just in case he fainted. Or he sprained his hair. Yes. So they called an ambulance to make sure he was okay. 911. What I hear when that happens just with Romney, you have to apply direct pressure. Well, yeah. Hold it. Yeah. Like strongholds. Yes. Extra gel. Yes, extra gel. So that was yesterday. I guess you did that. Wow. Congratulations. Wow. What do you think is going to happen with the Democrats? I don't know. I think Obama's kind of running away with it right now. Sure looks that way, right? Yeah. Starbucks has announced that nationwide on February the 26th, this is a date that will be very important to Coffee drinkers. On February the 26th, which is a Tuesday, they are going to close shop for three hours nationwide Starbucks. Close and shop for three hours. And what they're going to do is they're calling it an emergency retraining. Are they calling it that? Yes. Okay, now what's strange about that is that who says four weeks from now or three weeks from now we're going to have an emergency?
Like, isn't an emergency meaning an emergency means we got to do something right now. What? Yes. So they have what you call a pre-emergency announcement. Yes. To let people know that they're going to get everybody together, that would get everybody out of the store and close the store down. And with their baristas, their coffee makers, they're going to have an emergency retraining on how to make your drinks. Sorry, what? No, it's going to start at 5.30 p.m. and then go for three hours where they're going to train them how to steam milk and make the perfect espresso shot and not to mix the soy milk with the regular milk. Either way, either drink is delicious. Both drinks are delicious. One is faster. Yes. Now, the deal is that it sounds like this is a marketing ploy to make you think, wow, after that day. You are going to get the most delicious, perfectly made drinks ever in the history of the planet. I only get one thing ever at Starbucks, so I don't really know. What do you get, Eddie? I get that mocha frappuccino, which isn't very difficult to make. So you guys order a variety of coffees. Do you feel that they don't make them correctly? I do not. No.
I love my baristas. And I know that this is going to get back to my baristas because every time I mention Starbucks, I hear about it from the baristas. The next day, they say, oh, I heard blah, blah, blah. I love my baristas. They're wonderful people. But ever since Heather left... Oh, no. Not Heather. I'm just telling you that ever since Heather left and went to Home Expo to work, it's never been the same. Oh, man. That's terrible. Feel good, just not as good. Go get her back, dude. Caffeinatedly, she got me. Yeah. And nobody really has. Dude, I tried. When she said she was leaving, I did the whole, you know what? If that's what you want to do, you go. You go. And I thought, if she comes back, she was my barista to begin with. It was meant to be. It was meant to be. And if she doesn't, then that wasn't in the plan. Well, she's never come back. You go get a boombox.
Go outside of where she's working now. Hold it over your head. That's a good idea. And play Black Coffee in Bed. Right. Yeah, that's the Peter Gabriel song, right? It's the Black Coffee in Bed. You just play it as loud as you can and then you hope and you pray that maybe. Well, this is in your eyes. Just maybe. I thought it would make more sense to play Squeeze Black Coffee in Bed. Well, either way, I think it may have an impact on her. Yeah, I think she'll get it. Well, the deal is, is that I don't get the weird coffee drinks anymore. Yeah. All I order now is a split. It's called a split. So it's half decaf, half regular. Because if I get all regular, I'll be jacked up and I'll probably hurt myself and others. And I'll get a 5150. That's true. And I'll be next door to Brittany. Yeah. And so, but you know what they do? They put the decaf in first and I don't want that. Yeah. I want the caffeinated to go first because human nature is to put whatever you're putting first the most of. Right. And so I get gypped on the regular coffee because they put so much of the decaf that they can, by the time they go, oh yeah, it's a split. Then they put the caffeinated and it's like one second of that. And then I got to pour out some anyway because I'm going to put cream, even when you tell them room for cream.
Oh, yeah. See, I get a special drink, and I've definitely experienced inconsistency. And one time had such a bad experience with my drink that I, like, considered writing a letter. Wow. Yeah, but that was up in Starbucks up in San Jose when I was visiting for the holiday. But I was like, what? Eddie can help you with that. He has experience writing to restaurants when he feels that service is not at the par. Yes, I had an experience once that was a troubling one with the Burger King Corporation. Oh, you're not going to. And I still feel that they slighted me and slapped me in the face. What happened? I'm glad you asked Mike. It was like 10 cents. When I was a young man, I had a little bit more fight in me. And you and I were together and we went to Burger King in Gilroy, California. And I had noticed on the menu that the regular hamburger was 59 cents and a cheeseburger was 69 cents. So that's 10 cents for cheese. But then I also noticed that
The Whopper was 99 cents, and a Whopper with cheese was $1.39. It's 40 cents for cheese. It's the same piece of cheese, Mike. It's the same piece of cheese. So I said to the person working on the counter, I said... I want a Whopper with cheese, but can I have the cheese that you use for the cheeseburger on my Whopper? And I'll pay the extra $0.10. You're so dumb. And, you know, the person behind the counter, you know, zit-faced kid, he didn't know what was going on. So I asked to speak to a manager. Oh, my God. This did happen. I said to the manager, I said, I don't understand. You know, this is in Russia, $0.40 for a piece of cheese. This is a little ridiculous, you know, don't you think? I mean. I offered to pay the difference. That's not the point, Mike. That's the point I'm trying to help people here. That's the principle of it, Mike. I'll take a whole block of cheese for 40 cents. I mean, it's a little ridiculous.
And so he just kind of laughed at me and didn't help me and gave me a number to call, which was the Burger King Corporation, and an address. And so I ended up typing up a formal letter to the Burger King Corporation and wrote them about this cheese incident. And I heard back from them about a month later. And they sent me a form letter, basically, that said, thank you for your complaint. We listen to everybody, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And two free coupons. for Whoppers without cheese. Just Whoppers. Just the Whopper. So clearly they didn't listen to my message. I sent them back and I said I would have appreciated coupons for cheese rather than these ridiculous coupons because I still have to pay the cheese. You want to know how that day went down? He got that letter and he called me. He goes, can you get over here please? And I go, What's going on? And he goes, just come over here. I walked in to his house, and he was furious. It was like a slap in the face, Mike. Damn it! So he boycotted, and this is not a joke. Eddie boycotted Burger King years. Over 30 cents? Yeah, when they sent him those... That's 40 cents, first of all. Well, isn't it a 30 cent difference? No, it's 40.
Well, but the $0.10 is for the cheese, and then it's $0.30 on top of that. So it's really a $0.30 that you're complaining about. Fine, I guess. $0.30. Listen, she knows numbers. $0.30. He's complaining about $0.30, Mike. So he was upset that they sent him. And listen, I liked it. So over the years, Eddie and I, we moved to Rochester. Come on, dude. Come on. Let's go to Burger King. And when we were with a group of people, people would say, I won't eat there. You guys can go if you want. I'm not eating there. The only reason why I ever went back is you forced me to one time. We finally, it got to a point where I said, dude, we have to get, we got to get through this. We got to, we got to do it. We got to do it. So to this now he is. I'm still angry about it. It's true. Fight the man. Okay. Coming up next. We're going to take guesses on who that top Valentine's couple is. I don't have a clue. Trust me. I don't have a clue. And more on this Jane Fonda stuff, more on that shooting that's making big news, and a ton more don't go away. I was on my way to work, and I got the biggest smile on my face to hear you in the game. 105.3. Can the real estate market change your life? Hi, this is Jeff Schnitter. But there is no doubt in my mind that the person that would reign supreme, numero uno, number one, would be Skye. Yeah. In terms of ham love. I mean, it's freaky. She loves ham. Just loves it. I disagree. I don't think I would be number one. I mean, I'd probably make the list. I'm not going to lie. But I don't think I'd be number one on the list. Oh, Skye. Sing it, Christina Aguilera. Dude, are you there? Yeah, yeah, I'm here. Talk to me about AIS.
I just wanted to tell you, you know, I called AIS and talked to a kid named Carlos out of Escondido, and they saved me like $700 a quarter on my auto insurance. $700 a quarter? Yeah. I don't know what a quarter is. That's every three months or four months? It's every six months. I don't think that's a quarter, but that's neither here nor there. All right, every six months they save you how much? $600 because I had it suspended on my record when I finally got my license when I was 25 years old. I never drove before. This guy is saving $1,200 a year by switching to AIS. Yep. That's phenomenal, dude. Yeah, I think I might go get some laser icers right now with that money. You should. You might as well. Hey, listen, in all seriousness, you're writing checks for so much less every month. You can use that money on yourself in a fun way. Yeah, I appreciate it. It really helped me out. I was thinking about it, and I called them, and I went out on a whim, and they were really cool, and they hooked me up with a good... A good auto insurance dealer and really helped me out. That's awesome. Hey, thank you for calling. Thank you. 800-777-4247. Easy way to remember it, 800-777-4AIS. High quality, all digital, best service, Cricut Wireless. Rock 105.3 Traffic.
to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, we've got a little bit of traffic to deal with now this morning after a pretty quiet start in our freeways. Kind of a mess here developing in the southbound side of the 5 right now as you head down this North County coastline. We've got an accident. Actually, a couple of them very close to each other. One involving a motorcycle, another one involving a couple of cars here. Injuries involved in the motorcycle crash here. South 5 just passed Birmingham Drive and that's why you're seeing that big backup in single digits bumper to bumper here as you work your way pretty much coming out of the Coming out of the North County here from Encinitas all the way on down. So be advised of that and give yourself some extra time possibly heading that direction. South of the 15 is looking okay out of Escondido. You will find an earlier accident on the right-hand shoulder near Rancho Panosquitos Boulevard. And that left some debris in the slow lanes and just use caution there. Other than that, though, the rest of our county freeways are pretty much up to speed cooperating. Of course, you've got the closure still in place and they're still waiting to open up Highway 8 here east of Alpine. But it's still shut down for the time being because of black ice here. Eastbound 8 at East Willows Road. Still closed to all traffic until they wait for the things to kind of melt off and they can get some cars into that area. I'm McLaurin's on Rock 105.3. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. The official home Mikey Morning Show. He can crack steel walnuts with his buttocks cheeks. You heard that? Or did you see it? I don't know. KIOC San Diego. Back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I put things off.
I do like to put things off until the last minute. I keep a log of my insults. That's what she said. Oh. Sky. I was throwing weed once. Save that clip. Sean. I don't often drink milk, but when I do, I have to salt it. Boston Rob. I got ideas, man. They're worth money. And Ashley. I don't know anything about that. Save that clip. You will save that clip. I will not. Rock one up. Finally watched the TiVo of American Idol. Oh, yeah? And you know that girl that's never seen the R-rated movies, Jordan? Mm-hmm. I said to Rebecca, this very wholesome girl, doesn't wear very much makeup, blonde, blonde hair. She was the first one to sing out of the whole episode. Yeah, blonde? Played piano. Okay, yeah, yeah. And I go, I go, uh-oh.
And my wife goes, what? I go, I just see money written all over that girl. And she goes, why? I go, a few things. A, they market that whole, I'm wholesome and I've never said, they market that and make billions off that alone. I said, but when you look at her, you see a girl that has very, that has a lot of features that Americans really like. Big features, big mouth, big lips, big teeth, big eyes, big hair. Everything's natural. And I said, all they need to do is slap a little of that $6,000 hair and makeup they threw on Carrie Underwood. The first time you see that girl singing after the makeover, you're going to go, whoa. Like, there was a supermodel underneath all that. Then they'll get that going with a little bit of the talent that she has. She's not, to me, she didn't seem spectacular. But they'll put it all together. If that show's good at anything, it's figuring out how to make something to sell. Oh. They take a can of water and they slap a cool label on it and put Pepsi on it and coloring and make it taste a little better. It's interesting. 719. Is this your husband we're talking about? It's my boyfriend, but we've been together for three and a half years. What did your boyfriend get you for Valentine's Day? He got me a scale and a workout ball. Oh, my God. Okay, please tell me you asked for those things. I'm sorry, I can't hear you. I'm on the road. Please tell me you asked him for those things. The workout ball, I really did kind of want because I'm trying to get back into going to the gym. but the scale was kind of a little over the top. Okay, so you asked him for the workout ball. Well, I've been kind of, you know, talking about getting one. I didn't ask for it for Valentine's Day, but I've been, you know what I mean? Like, oh, it would be cool to have one. Those are neat. Those really isolate your core. I just haven't gone and done it, you know? So when you opened it up, did you say, what did you say to that? I was like, are you kidding? Valentine's Day? That's what I said. And what did he say? He was like, well, I know you wanted it. So I think he was trying to be nice. But still, you know. Guys are dumb. They are dumb. They are so stupid. They are. Yeah. Are you, are you, are you, how many pounds overweight would you say you are? Oh, a lot. Like how? I really don't know.
Well, it's okay. Listen, there's, there's your, first of all, you're among friends. And second of all, there's complete anonymity here. Would you say that you are more than 40 pounds over? Yes. Okay. Well, Hey, listen, the guy, now let me ask you another question. When you started dating him three years ago, were you, uh, 40 pounds less? No, no. He's only known you this way. Yeah. Okay. Well, and he's large too. I mean, it's not like, you know, any guy with the hippo or anything. Right, right, right. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's large and in charge. What do you want? I'm sure he loves every inch of you. Every square inch. Yep. He just wants her to be healthy, Mike. Yeah, that's it. He wants her to be healthy, Mike. Right? He wants her to... We're working on this together. It's just, you know... Yeah, Valentine's Day. It's just kind of funny, you know? Yeah, Valentine's Day is the wrong time for that. For sure. Yeah. Exactly. Do you guys get it? Oh, we do.
Thanks for the call, Joanne. Okay, thank you. This one looks interesting. P1 Jillian, are you there? I'm here. Your husband got you what for Valentine's Day? My husband got me tickets to a WWE wrestling match. And again, this must have been something you asked for. Yes! That is awesome. I've never seen a wrestling match in my life. It's going to be a big event, I'm telling you. It's a SmackDown and ECW show. Guys are so dumb. They are dumb. It's a great event. It's going to be awesome. I thought he was kidding. Like, I opened the card and the tickets were in there. Where's my present? Wait, wait, wait. Listen, I'm not against the gift. I'm not against the gift. I'm against the timing. It was Valentine's Day, and on Valentine's Day, you're supposed to give loving stuff. stuff. He basically bought something for himself. My husband does this. Wait, wait, wait. I think that it's his wonderful gift of something that they can do together, and yes, he's interested in it, but isn't that... Yeah, and she's not interested in it. She should be. She should be. She's not allowed to have her own interests. She should only be interested in what he's interested in. Where did I...
Where did I say she is not allowed to have her own interests? What I said was, hang on, what I said was she should be, she should take some interest in his interests. No, I mean, I'm more than happy to go. Wait, wait, wait, hang on, Jillian. Jillian, Skye got a look on her face when I said she should take interest in those interests. Okay, maybe I'm misunderstanding you. So are you saying this is an appropriate gift? It's inappropriate for Valentine's Day. Would it be appropriate for her birthday? Or Christmas? Or basically any other holiday, would it be appropriate? You got me. No. No. Because that's a gift for him. But, but, but, but. It's not for me, you know. Exactly, it's for him. Did it get you anything else? The card. This guy's the best. That's nice, she got her card.
Of course. I'm not just saying it. And he put his president there. Right. Like, I would prefer him just to get her a card and nothing else, rather than a gift for himself. Well, I say... That's kind of true. I say you turn a negative into a positive. That's nice. Ray Mysterio, Batista, they're all going to be there. Eddie, no one cares. Well, at least us gals. I mean, for real. I'm telling you, this is your husband, Jillian, and I do believe that you should take an interest in his interests. What? But Mike, that's not the discussion on the table. It could really help her marriage. That is not the discussion here. If she goes to this WWE thing at the sports arena, it will help her marriage. But that's not the discussion. And who says her marriage needs help? Well, the discussion is what allows the gift. And I'm going, are you kidding me? He gave you a gift that could potentially turn your marriage into something awesome. The gift of the Undertaker. Maybe their marriage already is awesome. Yeah, it's so awesome she's calling in to complain about it. Well, my marriage is awesome, but my husband's guilty of the same thing. What do you mean? The surround sound gift. Now, that was something that was wonderful for the both of you. You've enjoyed movies with him countless times. Oh, yeah. But I didn't want that. That's something he wanted forever.
Yeah, but you benefited from it. But I didn't want it. But you did not not want it. Yeah. What? Not only that, but it's the thought that counts. Oh, it is the thought that counts. It's the thought. It is. I've heard that. Yeah, he was thinking of himself. Well, now you're changing the thoughts around. Wait, what? Well, and you're speculating. You don't know that. Speculation. Oh, my gosh, you guys. He's going to get me a table saw next. Why? Jillian, I think that you should take the opportunity to go to the WWE. You're going to have a blast. Not only do I think that you should go, but I think that you should consider going to their website and finding their girl clothes. Really? Yeah. At least make a sign. I mean, you've got to make a sign. Eddie, let me ask you. You guys are the worst. Yeah. Give me a wrestler you think is all right. Like a male wrestler? Yeah. Oh, we could say The Undertaker. All right, cool. Well, let's say that you ask your husband, Jillian, who he thinks is cool, and he's like Eddie, and he says The Undertaker. If I were you, I would go to their website, and I would get yourself a chick Undertaker shirt, and the night that he takes you...
To that WWE event, you surprised him by coming out of the bedroom and saying, I'm ready to go. And you're wearing that? Yeah. I'm telling you. You're awesome. I am telling you that that guy will fall even more in love with you. And I'm not joking when I'm saying this. I know this. I think you're right. He will fall more in love with you. And I'm telling you, it will be the last time that you ever get a gift like that on Valentine's Day. Okay, that's not true. I'm telling you. Stop it. That's opposite. I'm telling you, I believe it. I believe it'll make their marriage grow. I agree with that, but I believe this will just encourage the behavior as well. Try it out and let's see. When's your birthday, Jillian? March. Oh, dude. Try it. Seriously, try it and let's see what happens in March. I'll bet you. Okay. Do you believe that this warrants a discussion about it? Not a fight. A discussion about... Oh, Sky, I hate your discussions. That's such awful territory to get into. Why? I've had the discussion. Oh, of course. But those discussions, they lead to bad feelings. No, they don't. They lead to clarification of you not buying stuff for yourself and trying to pawn it off as a gift for me. Shame, shame, shame. I'm telling you, Sky, if you take this advice, you turn your frown upside down.
And you keep encouraging this behavior. No, no, no. You do the opposite. What happens is... How is it opposite? Here's what I think is fair game. What? I do think that not now, because he just gave you the gift, but I think that in a couple of weeks, it's okay for her to say, man, I'm such a girl. I really love to get gifts of blah, blah, blah. You know? And if he brings up, well, what about that WWE thing I got you? Well... I mean, as it turned out, that was really nice. But I'm a girl. I still do like to get blah, blah, blah. Hey, Jillian, did you hint to anything that you would like for Valentine's Day? Not yet. That's what I'm saying. Not yet. I'm asking her, like, weeks ago. Did she hint to anything she wanted for Valentine's Day? No. I mean, I don't know. Like, I'm pretty, like, I like to go out the dinner. I wanted him to figure it out. Like every woman, I wanted him to be able to read my mind and know what I want instinctively. When he doesn't do it, what I like to do is I like to get together with my girlfriends at the Cheesecake Factory over lunch. And I like to get something really, really fattening. Well, first, I like to pretend that I'm going to order a salad to the waiter. I say to the waiter,
That I'm looking at the salads and I can't decide. And then I know my girlfriend will say, no, screw it, let's just get nachos. And I go, no, I just want a salad. Even though I know in my brain I'm going to eventually in about 20 seconds say, okay, I'll take the nachos. And you talked me into it. I didn't really want it. And then we'll get the nachos and we'll complain about the gift I got. And we'll expect our husbands to figure it out on their own even though we don't tell them. A legitimate complaint. Well, listen, Jillian, I wish you would take my advice, and I would love to hear back from you in March and see what happens on your birthday. I bet it's a different story. We'll see. Yeah, have the discussion, Jillian. Sky, give her an example. What will the discussion sound like? Here it comes. I agree. It's probably cool to wait a couple weeks to kind of not hurt his feelings, but be like, now, babe, you... I know that you got those tickets really for you. You know I'm not into the WWE. I mean, that's just so blatant. Well, I'm sorry that I'm blatantly honest in my relationship. Well, what you're saying to him is, listen. Sounds like tough love, guys. I think he did something really selfish and, you know. Tough love it is. Tough love. And what if the guy is clueless and he actually did it to be, because he thought that that was a great gift because he's clueless.
Now you're just hurting the guy. No, give me a break. You can't be clueless about your wife being in or out on the WWE. Mike, do you know if your wife's in or out on the WWE? I do. I know she's in. She walks around the house with a Rey Mysterio mask on. I can't take that off. You're scaring Jake already. Jillian, you have two pieces of advice and I would like you to Take them both into account. And you know what? Maybe try Skies. Maybe say to him, you know what, babe? I know that when you got that, you really got it because you wanted it. Give it a shot, Jillian. And then tell me what kind of present you get in March. And babe, you know, if you want those tickets, we can buy those tickets. We can go to that if you want. But when it's like a gift for me, I'd really like it to be something that I like. I don't think that's wrong. Yeah, Jillian. And then call us back.
Call us back. Say after your birthday in March, call us back. And you know what? Maybe in March, I'll tell you what, maybe in March, because you put it to him that blatantly, maybe what will happen is in March on your birthday, you will get what you want and you will be satisfied. You will have placed your order. He will deliver. You'll be satisfied. This is to say nothing for the resentment he now has for you. What about the resentment she has to him for him, you know, buying a gift like that? Totally valid. It's a totally valid thing. The resentment that she has for him, I believe, is a totally valid thing. Now, this is the decision that we have to make. We're either going to turn the resentment that we have into something positive or we're going to create more of it. Or no, we're going to harbor it, never address it, and let it keep happening until we end up hating each other. If it happens, I will say this. If it happens again, I switch to a version of Sky's plan. A version. How does your version go? My version probably involves about a pint of vodka. A magician. A little nighty and a magician.
Exactly. Hey, good luck, Jillian. Hey, people are calling in. 570-1053. People want to comment on this. We got Troy on the line. We got P1 Christina on the line. They want to comment on this, and so we'll do that. So don't go anywhere. And don't go anywhere because we have B-Rob's Barack Obama parody. It's too Baby Got Back. Oh, that makes sense. You know it. Okay, I'm going to take a guess at who does Baby Got Back. Eddie, dance it. Young MC. What? Are you serious? Knock it off. You're serious right now. I never listen to hip-hop, but I think I'm a bright guy, and I know I have this information in my head. Okay, it was not. It was at Run DMC. Oh, my God. Stop guessing. Stop. Okay, I'll stop guessing. Como D. It's like a coma. It's Mike.

Well, overall, you know, the ride is fairly easy on most of our county freeways. However, if you're traveling south from the 5 out of the North County, man, you're going to run into some heavy traffic here. Bumper to bumper coming out of Carlsbad all the way down in towards Solana Beach. A couple of accidents here this morning that were blocking the left lanes here near Birmingham Drive in Manchester caused that mess. They're now out of the way, but in the meantime, things are still just a mess, and the traffic remains in effect advising you to avoid it until things get back to normal here.
South 15 hasn't been too bad out of Escondido this morning. Maybe a brief delay intermittently through Rancho Brano. Nothing too serious here. 894, looking great all the way into the city. 505 northbound, they're doing okay. The 5, maybe a few break nights just past that South Bay Freeway. 805, moving right along until you get to Kearney Mesa. Then it slows a little bit over that 52. And unfortunately, the 8 eastbound at Willows Road still completely shut down, trying to get out of Alpine and over the mountains and the deserts. Black ice along that whole stretch has got it very dangerous. and CHP is not letting anybody east of East Willows Road for the time being, and that could be a long-term thing. So, unfortunately, there's a lot of people stranded out there still just waiting to get out of there. I'm McLarenson, Rock 105.3. P1 Allen? Yes. You went into Sleep Train in San Marcos. P1 Christina, are you there? What did you want to say?
I think that the best solution would be for her to leave her husband at home and take a friend, and he'll never give her something that he wants again. Oh, that is so awesomely passive-aggressive. I don't think that was the gift, though. Well, Skye's very... Now, Skye, why would you get excited about something passive-aggressive? Well, okay, it's horrible for your relationship to do that, but it's a... A genius, like an evil villain, genius thought. Wow. And I love that. I think that if he gave her a ticket and she doesn't have to have the conversation that I hated the gift, she can say, thank you. I want to check this out. I have a friend who wants to check it out. Yeah. We're going to go. I can almost guarantee you that when he gave it to her, he said, it's for us to go to the WWE. Together. But it's a gift for her. Well, sure. Sure. So she can do what she will. The one ticket is for her. Well, then he should have only put one ticket in my card. He probably should have. That's where he made his mistake. Yeah. Yeah, but I bet he made it clear. He probably made it clear. It's for us to go to the thing. Well, he'd never do it again, that's for sure. That's true. That's what we want to do. We want to teach him what to do, but we don't want to be honest. There you go. Thank you. Thank you very much. P1 Mike. Yeah. Go ahead. Yeah. Me and my girlfriend, we get each other gifts for, you know, anything sometimes. I mean, we get each other something for like Fourth of July. Anyway, for this Fourth of July,
I got tickets to go see Transformers. And she was, you know, she was excited about it a little bit. Not really, but she figured, you know, hey, she would go. And the night that we were going to go see them, she showed up wearing a Transformers t-shirt. Cute. Right. And you loved it? I was so excited about that. And we actually went to the movies. She had a great time. And ever since then, for any occasion, where she gets me a gift. It's exactly what I want. I'm telling you guys. That's cool. That's cute. Awesome. I'm telling you this stuff works. It works both ways. You know, it works both ways. Listen, guys, you, you, you know, you should, whatever your wife's interests are, take an interest too. I'm going to be watching this lost again for my wife. She really wants me to watch lost real bad. So I'm going to be watching lost again.
You know, when I got Alton Brown on, she pretends to think it's all right. And I know she's pretending, but it's kind of nice, you know, she's pretending. You know, Skye, and you do that. You do that for the hub all the time. Yeah, last night we learned how to make a coconut cake. And you kind of... It was awesome. You smile. You have the discussion with him, right? Did he tell you anything about apple butter? Oh. Has that come up again? Apple butter? That's me. Has it come up again? That's a hot button, dude. Please not. There's no way that's coming up. Let's not discuss the apple butter. I've made my feelings clear. Okay. I know what it is. I've heard about it. I know all about it. Thank you. I've seen how it tastes. She snapped at him one time. Yeah, but do you know how it tastes? Eddie, shut your gutter mouth. We'll see what the deal is. That's an honest question. Her husband said to her one time. One time? Okay, in all honesty, maybe this was the... Eighth time he'd asked, but he asked her, have I told you about this apple butter thing? Apparently he had told her many times. She snapped at him a little bit. What, because he forgot? Hang on. In fairness to Sky, this was her tone. She said, yes, you have.
You've already told me about the apple butter. I love you very much, but I don't need to hear it again. No, she would never say that. I believe that is what happened. Thank you, Mike. Thank you for saying that. I believe that's what happened. Never in a million years. Actually, he caught me on a very bad day. I was in a horrendous mood, and I had had enough of him talking to me about apple butter. So she said, sweetheart, I have. I have. You could tell me about that. And I thought it was very interesting. But just so you don't go into it again, I have heard that. You're confusing Sky with a human being. Shut up. I was having a bad day. Hey, I was a little moody. P1 Marcus. Marcus, are you there? Yes. Go ahead. Hi, I have something to say about the Valentine's Day gift thing. I'm one of those people where me and my girlfriend, we don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. I mean, some people do, some people don't, and that's cool. But I also believe that regardless of what it is, I mean, it's a gift. Like, he really didn't have to get her anything. So she should be thankful. I mean, seriously, don't we kind of think that? Like, it's a gift, man. Yeah.
I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. You're not even expecting to get something. But this goes along your whole theme of Obama saying things that he's not going to do, which you believe. That is true. It's like we live in reality. Give me a break, guy. We know the score. Marcos, if she tells you she's getting you something and she doesn't, you're right. That is the Obama thing. According to you. Well, yeah. But here would be the deal. It's Valentine's Day. It's not like we say to our loved ones, I just want you to know that coming up, I promise you, like Obama does with his thumb up in the air, as he's telling you. Like he's hitchhiking. Yes, like he's hitchhiking. If your husband were to say to you like Obama, I just want you to know, I am going to provide you with chocolates. And then on Valentine's Day, he doesn't provide you with chocolates? Sure, then you have... But if he didn't say a word, and then he gives you anything, aren't you... Unless he gave you, like, Summer's Eve or something, where you're like... Where you go, where you go, where you go, hey! Exactly, you would go, hey, guy!
Like, dude. Yeah, exactly, Skye. You'd go, dude. No, I'm talking about you. Oh, oh. Oh, I see. I thought Skye was, you know, sort of dramatizing. I was like, wow, that's really good. That's exactly what a woman would probably do. Like, dude. Hey. How dare he. Exactly. That's all I'm saying. It is a gift. Skye has a list of the top 20 TV couples. Oh. Yes. TV. This was a list that AOL put out for Valentine's Day. So the top 20. B.A. Baracus and Face. Oh. Put it on the board, my friend. Did he really have a relationship with someone named Face? Go ahead and put it up. Oh, they're friends. Can you name the show when you name the couple? 18. No, not on the list. Oh, it's not like married couples or boyfriend, girlfriend couples. No, these are TV couples. People that get, that on the show, they're a couple. On the show. Mork and Mindy. Mork and Mindy. Are they on here? I think so. No. Joni and Chachi. Exactly. I'll put that on the board. Joni and Chachi. How can they not be on that? I'm sorry, I don't see it. Lucille Ball and that other guy. Desi Arnaz. That's it. Lucy and Ricky are number four on the list. What about Eddie for his...
starring Roland Renegade. Well, I didn't have a love interest in that episode, Rob, but I appreciate where you're going with that. That episode implies there were other episodes. How about the Cosbys? The Huxtables? Yes. Cliff and Claire, number nine. The Keetons from Family Ties. No Keetons. What about Rosie O'Donnell? Rosie O'Donnell. And who? Ross and Rachel. Ross and Rachel are on here. They are number seven. I'm terrible at this. Monica and Chandler. No. I don't watch anything but reality TV. Sam and Diane from Cheers. Sam and Diane from Cheers. Number one. Sam and Diane. Mike, there's one you know. How about Flo and Mel? From what? Alice. Oh, no. That was a clandestine relationship, Sean. No one knew about that. Oh, wow. No one knew. That was only at the back. Wait a second. What about Vera and Henry? Stupid. No, he was with Chloe. Yeah, Henry was married. Yes! What about Uncle Jesse and Rebecca from Full House? No. Whoa. That was a strange one. There's two on this list, Mike, that you should get. The Bradys. Yeah. Oh, yeah. No. Mike and Carol. People are calling in. They have them. Brady, what?
What? Shut up. Don't tell me, do you? Let's see. Odd. Who was she with? I don't know. Somebody. She had an abortion. P1P Rob. She was married, bro. It was a big episode on that show. She did. P1P Rob, are you there? Go ahead. It's got to be Zach and Kelly Kapowski. Zach and Kelly Kapowski. Are they on there? Betty White and Menopause. They were a great couple for a while. Put that on the board. They're still together, Mike. I got one. Oh, yeah. What about Brandon Dillon? Duh. Number 19, Brandon and Dillon. Nice work. But there's one that should be even more obvious to you, Mike. You're starting to upset me. You're starting to upset me right now, Mike. Movie Jaws. Shows I like, shows I like. This is something that we even talk about these people in real life. Oh, Pam and Jim.
Thank you. Number 16. Jim and Pam. Please. Please. Yeah, Tony and Angela. Angela. Angela. Mona. Samantha. Samantha. Samantha. We got it. Oh, yeah. What about Larry and Mona? Who? Oh, my gosh. The Ropers. Wow. Oh, yeah. No. Wow. P1 J-Lo. Hey, Mikey, you guys are missing an obvious one. The Bundys. The Bundys? Yeah. That's a great guess, but no, not on the list. Oh. Oh. Marge and Homer. P1 Renegade? Gotta be on. What's up, bro? How about Edith and Archie and George and Weezy? Yes! No and no, but yes to Eddie, Homer, and Marge from The Simpsons, number 12. Weezy? You're saying me and George aren't on there? No, I don't see why. No, George.
P1 Knuckles. Elton John and Tom Brady. Let me check the list. Let me check. Not on the list. Mr. Rourke can tattoo on there? No. Why don't you look on the list again? I just checked twice. I love you tattoo. I love you too. I love you too, boss. Yes. Can you lift me up on the chair so I can see sky? You're too heavy these days. Can you give me a stool? Oh, my back! Thank you! What's the matter with your back? I have a spinal bifida. Why don't you go to the specialist, boss? I tried. You tried to go to the specialist? Yes. I could not get an appointment. Why don't you fix that hole in your head? Quit telling me what to do, Tattoo. I do apologize. I apologize. I apologize. Thank you, boss. Word. Yes, Tattoo.
If you can't get an appointment, you know you can always take it to Amco. My bad? Let's not. Let's not do that. Oh, sorry, my bad. I didn't realize you're talking about your back. I can maybe take the plane. Yeah, you can maybe take the plane. Yes. Hey, boss, I have a question for you. Yes, that's true. What is your question? When are you finally going to see no country for all the men? Will you get over that? I don't have the time. I have the same haircut that the villain in that movie has. I do like your hair. I like your bangs. Really? That's sweet. Hey, boss. Yes, Tattoo. Let's get drunk tonight. You got it. Done and done. What happened? Let's play cards and get drunk. You got it, Tattoo. All right. This time, I want us to wear our swimsuits. Okay, Tattoo, okay. Are you going to really wear your swimsuit, boss? No, I will not. Come on, man. No, I wear my white suit, Tattoo. That's how come I say this to you because I always show up in my...
In my swimsuit and you're wearing a white suit and I feel foolish, boss, with my nipple textiles. Okay. Okay, healthy. That's enough. Okay. Hey, boss. Enough tattoo. Oh, no. Hey, boss. Yes. Oh, no. You know I care about it, right? Yes. Have you gone for your colonoscopy? What the heck? I performed one last night on myself. No. I'm not kidding. No, come on. I'm being serious about this. You know that prostate cancer kills more American men than anything else, boss. I checked it last night, Tattoo. We're all good. Boss, you're not a position. I know, but Charo and Suzanne Plachette came over to my book a lot. What? I won't get into the details. But I'm good. You know that that smoky out front cannot properly take you. Don't rely on Suzanne Plichette and Suzanne Somers any longer, boss. Now, I know you had a complaint the last time because the doctor that you went to had those...
Hot dog-sized ape with a finger. Very uncomfortable. And I know that you did not like him because he made me uncomfortable. Well, yes, and then he was giving me the exam, and then both of his hands ended up on my shoulders, and I don't... I was like, hey, easy, hefe. I'm a different time, boss. Easy, hefe. You guys are so dumb. Oh, my God. You are listening to The Mikey Show. Indeed you are. 053. I'm freaking. Guess what I just found out. Um, what? Four words, my friend. Filet-O-Fish Fridays. They're back. Really? At Mickey D's? No way. For real, man. We can feast on Filet-O-Fish sandwiches for $1.29. Oh, man. That's a delicious classic. Warm, flaky fish filet covered with tangy tartar sauce. And fromage. You mean cheese. Right. It's fantastic. In fact, let's go get lunch because I'm feeling famished. Dude. Look, Phil, if you're a fan, the famous Filet-O-Fish Fridays are a favorite that won't last forever. So no fooling around, okay? Okay. Well, go to Mickey D's, grab some Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, and you can have as much as you want as long as you stop with the... All right, fine. Man, it's going to be a feeding frenzy of a fabulous fish fantasy that can be fetched for only a few farthings. Dude, farthings? I really think you went too far. Fair enough.

It is 8.06. NBC has issued an apology after Jane Fonda used the C word on the Today Show yesterday morning. Kobe Bryant's got a hurt little finger. He's got a torn ligament. Looks like he's going to miss the All-Star game. What a scandalous email. Sky is such a beating. I cannot believe what comes out of her mouth. I feel sorry for her husband. Sincerely, Lorena Bobbitt. Wow. That's some nerve it takes for her to be able to welcome back to the show. Very nice to have you. Tragedy yesterday at Northern Illinois University. There was a shooting at Northern Illinois University. And six students were killed and a bunch of other ones were wounded. Here is a student talking to CNN about it. Cut 16.
scaling up to get out and I looked up again and he was cocking his pistol and that's when he went down the aisles and started shooting people and I just stayed down there the entire time until the alarms went off and the fire stopped and I looked up again and he was gone. Another student cut 14. what i was thinking when i was like crawling was i'm gonna die i'm gonna die i'm gonna die and then when i got up to run i was like now i'm gonna get shot because i'm standing up and he's gonna see me and um before i started crawling i couldn't think i just laid there and looking at that girl across from me and i just thought i'm just gonna play dead i'm just gonna lay here and hope he doesn't come this close i don't know what to do if i move he's gonna get me terrible terrible thing northern illinois university is where that happened uh i didn't know about this but The NAACP has an award show. It's called the NAACP Image Awards. Oh, yeah. That was on Fox last night. D.L. Hughley was the host. And does everybody know what the story is about Aretha Franklin and Beyonce and the beef between Aretha Franklin and Beyonce? So silly. Beyonce called someone else the queen. Tina Turner. Tina Turner called her the queen. The queen.
It really upset Aretha Franklin because she considers herself the queen. Well, she's the queen of soul. Thank you. So it really upset her because she's the queen of soul. And so how dare you? Exactly. Use the words the queen. The queen when speaking of another person besides the queen. Who is me? I am the queen. Ridiculous. So how could you do that? That makes you terrible and showing no reverence and no respect for the queen. Me. Cut eight. The incomparable Aretha Franklin is here. She is being honored tonight. What I meant was the queen of soul. The queen of soul. I'll be damned if I'm getting in trouble up here. Aretha Fry off an email, boy. Now, was that disrespectful? Is that going to upset Aretha Franklin that he even pointed it out? Is that now a disrespect and a diss? Now, all the other stuff was you got Roger Clemens in the news.
Appearing before Senate committee talking about whether or not he did steroids. Here's DL on that. Cut nine. Now, we know that the Congress hasn't been investigating steroids. That's amazing to me because we've got $9 billion missing in Iraq and the Congress is investigating steroids. Now, I think if you're going to be mad at Barry Bonds, you've got to be equally as angry at Andy Pettit and Roger Clemens. You've got to be just as mad at them. Now, Roger Clemens insists he didn't do it. I believe him because steroids usually make you look like you work out. He must have sprinkled his on some donuts. Where did he shoot the steroids? His stomach? Are you crazy? That's great. Yeah, that's a good one. That's good stuff. That's pretty funny. Eddie, is that show Sunset Strip or whatever? Is that even still on television? No, it got canceled. Studio 60. Studio 60 and the Sunset Strip. Yeah, it was bad. Yeah.
I watched about four episodes. I couldn't do it anymore. But for four, I really tried to get into it. I know. Well, you wanted it to be cool. Because the story of it being like a behind-the-scenes Saturday Night Live is a great concept. But the writing was so just lame. It's true. I'm trying to remember what it was. My dad wanted me to order this old TV show for him, like a DVD. And I haven't done it yet. I have to order my dad everything. On the internet? On the internet. How come? Because he used the internet one time, and I don't know what site he was on, but he used the internet. They got his credit card information, and the next thing he knows, somebody's buying shoes at a footlocker, and then 20 seconds later, there's a charge for shoes at another footlocker. Oh, that's the worst. Yeah, and so he got his identity stolen.
And so now he just, and I'm like, Dad, Pops, I'm on Amazon. It's safe, Dad. No way. Wow. Really? He's old school, dude. He's old school, man. Yeah. So he has me order everything. But that identity theft. Oh, that's for real, man. It's for real. Don't scare me. Yeah, we had it happen to us once, but it was actually our mail was stolen. And you know how sometimes with your... credit card bill or even just with like a credit card promotional letter or whatever they'll attach checks to it oh these checks checks are as good as cash or whatever somebody stole our mail and stole that and took those checks and wrote them all over town at like wireless stores and bought a bunch of electronics and stuff sorry so you got charged for it uh well we we had to petition it and we didn't end up having to pay for it but it was definitely a process and then it really freaked us out because we were like Well, what else did they have? You know, if they stole all our mail, what else did they have in there? So then we had to get one of those mailboxes with the locking key and like my dad. I have that now. But, dude, I'm telling you, sometimes we get letters even like, you know, in our mail where the corners have been torn. All the time we get that. Yeah. We get that all the time. And it's so upsetting. And not to mention.
I've got a bunch of different magazine subscriptions that I just flat out, sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't. Same with me. That's so weird. Yeah, my dad's so paranoid about the mail theft that he will not put... the outgoing mail in his mailbox at the house. He won't even put it in one of the blue things, the blue boxes. He actually takes it into the post office because he's heard stories of people tying chains around the blue boxes and tying it to their bumper and ripping it off. Identity theft is scary. There's some horror stories out there. It can ruin your life. Have you even tried to convince your dad at the odds about that? No. I'm not even going there. Sean said, when we started to discuss this, I heard Sean say, don't bother me. What doesn't bother him? Identity theft. He ain't scared of it. What? You're not scared of it, right, Shawnee? I'm not afraid of it, like, in terms of purchasing things over the internet. That doesn't even come into play with me. Do you have a way of sort of trusting a site?
Yeah, I mean, as long as you see the little lock in the bottom corner, right corner of your browser, and you see instead of HTTP at the beginning of the address, there's an S as well. So HTTPS, that means it's locked, it's safe, it's encrypted, and it's very difficult to break something like that. On the right, explain, on the right what? So, like, when you go to a site that's safe, and it begins the sort of buying process, It goes into encrypted mode. And when it does that, there's a little picture of a lock. Usually it's in the lower right corner of your browser, just below the frame. I didn't know that, and that's a good thing for people to know. Yeah. That designates that the site is encrypted and that your information is being encrypted, and it's safe when it goes back and forth. For those of us that do not speak a computer near you. What does this mean, encrypted? What it means is it takes all the data that's going between you and the server, and they agree on a password. It uses that password to change the data and mix it up. So when it goes to the server from your computer, if someone were to intercept it, it would look like garbage. Oh. Yeah.
That's cool. It takes the data from the encryption code. Yes, and then it takes the codex and changes that into a gigabyte. And finally it comes into a... And unless you have that encryption key, you can't unscramble the data. There you go. 5701053. This is P1 Jesse there. Jesse there. P1 Jessica. P1 Jessica is on the line. Hello, Jessica. I don't hear her. Hi, Jessica. Talk to me. What are you doing? Hello, hello, yes. Broadcasting live from the San Diego broadcast facilities here in Kearney Mesa, California. All throughout the rolling hills of Southern California and broadcasting deep into the upper parts of Baja, California. Welcome to the Mikey Radio broadcast. Hello, hello, coming in, yes.
Well, she's not there anymore. Maybe she got her identity stolen. It could be. It wasn't really her calling. Or her voice box. It would have been an interesting call. She says her sister stole her identity. Get out of here. Oh, that's so shaming. Call back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I want to hear about that. Her own sister stole her identity. Can you imagine? Yeah, my grandpa was so paranoid about identity theft that he, you know, because we shred all our documents before we throw them away. And he kept telling us we need to get a double cross shredder so it shreds it multiple ways because he saw some special that told him that tweakers will steal your mail and they will paste together everything you've shredded and to get your information. My goodness. Now, did he really, like, again. Yeah, he went out and bought a special shredder. A cross-shredding shredder. Now, again, this is an example to me of like, you know, hey, listen, you know, maybe, but do we really... That's a lot of work. You know, do we really think that this is going to happen in this situation here? I know. Tweaker's got some time on their hands. Dude, you try living in El Cajon. That's true. Maybe, yeah. You know what? You just convinced me. Exactly. You just convinced me. But it's scary stuff. Yeah. People get real freaked out about it. Mikey Show.
Hey, I just wanted to bring up a point on the subject you're talking about. Yeah, yeah, go ahead. You're on the air. Yeah, you know how you're talking about the online credit card? Right, right. Well, it's kind of like when you go to restaurants, this is a good point to bring up. What do you do when you're about to pay a bill? You hand them your credit card so the waiter can easily go to the back and copy your information and use that as well. Well, I mean, now we're just getting into flat-out paranoia. Yeah. I think so. And then I've also heard the one about hotel keys. What is that? Because the hotel key is linked to all the information you give at the checkout desk. Right. So my husband doesn't let us leave. Like, you know how when you check out, you're supposed to leave your hotel keys in the room. Right. He believes, like, you know, the maids or whoever are going to steal those and scan all our info and steal our identity. Aye, aye, aye. Yeah. I mean, these are, you know. Because you hear the horror stories of what people go through after their identity has been stolen. But what about all the countless, countless stories of people that go to hotels safely? Yeah, I got a lot of old. There's only a few of those, Mike. It's like two or three people have gotten through that thing unscathed. P1 Downspell is on the line. Yep.
I had a buddy, actually, his brother stole his identity, and his brother was in Seattle, and he had to fly all the way up there. After getting arrested, find his brother, go turn him into the cops, and it still took probably a year for him to fix everything. Like, he had to seriously, he lost his job, he lost it all. I can relate. I've stole all my brother's identities. He was going to beat up his brother, but he just instead, he held it in and took him to the cops and turned him in. Very nice. It's the right thing to do. It's sad, man. P1, Jessie. Hi, I was only 18 when this happened and someone broke in my house and stole only my purse because it wasn't breaking in. They just walked into the door. My brother-in-law left the door open and basically took my purse that had everything in it, my social security card, everything, and opened over 17 accounts in a 24-hour period for $14,000. I hadn't even owned a credit card yet. I was only 18 years old, almost 19. Now you would think that the credit card companies would know that they would never give enough credit to an 18-year-old to be able to purchase $18,000. I had nothing on my account, nothing to my name yet. Everything was done online. Everything was. And it was like store credit cards and like instant access credit cards. So everything was purchased online because they found out the person who did it and she was like completely the opposite of me.
and basically no ID was ever checked. I refused to shop in any of the stores that she used it at and everything. Wow. I don't blame you, man. And, like, I worked in retail, and I was, like, anal about checking ID because I'm like, it happened to me, it'll happen to someone else. Has this been fixed in your life? It is. It happened in 2001, and it's a seven-year thing where for seven years I get, like, triple ID'd for everything. Really? Yeah. So you have until next year. Yeah. To be free and clear, all this stuff. Seven years, I get, like, red flagged for everything. Like, if I wanted to go into Victoria's Secret and open a credit card, they would have to, like, call, like, my bank, basically. What a trip. All right. Hey, thank you for the call. You're welcome. Have a great day, guys. You too. P1 Victoria, her aunt, stole her identity when she was eight years old. Oh, what? Yeah, she did. Eight years old? Yeah. How did this happen? Well, my grandmother... And. . .
Why would your grandma, why would your grandmother give your, what would be the need to give her your social security? If I'm, if we were going to the doctor, because my grandmother was disabled, she couldn't take me. So my aunt would take me. Okay. Okay. So she, so she had it. And what'd she do? Make credit cards with it? What she did was get her apartment under my name. She got her water turned on. She got her electricity turned on. She got newspapers, magazines, anything you can think of that you need a social security number. She got under my name. Wow. Yeah, and she had done this with everybody in the family, and we didn't know that she had. Did she do anything bad with it? Not that I know of, because I was so young. I don't know too much about this stuff, but I heard this guy on the radio, right? Mm-hmm. And he was advertising his company, which is a identity theft company to prevent you from getting identity theft. And it was so trippy. Dude gives his social security number out on the commercial. Yeah, I've heard that. And he's like, I feel so strongly about my company. I'm going to give you my actual social security number. And he gives it out on the commercial. And he's like, I defy you to use my social security company card because you can't.

Mikey, I bought a Simmons Beautyrest Cunningham pillow top over a fleet train two weeks ago, and it was just an amazing experience. Percent off the Mikey show. And then I used the Ace card and said, oh, Mikey told me to come in, and I got an additional 10. So all in all, I saved 20% on the mattress. And I bought it at Mission Valley at 11 o'clock.
They had it delivered and installed in Chula Vista by 2.30 on the same day. That's rad. And what's even more amazing, since it was a Cunningham pillow top, it was personally delivered by Richie Cunningham and Patsy Weber. It was just an amazing experience. That's awesome. Hey, how do you like sleeping on it? It's amazing. I've never had any problems sleeping before, but with the new mattress, it's even better. It's completely amazing. I would recommend Sleep Train to all the P1s out there. And Richie Cunningham and Potsy Weber delivered it. Absolutely. You can definitely meet Richie and Potsy if you get the Cunningham pillow top. There you go. That's beautiful. Hey, dude, I appreciate it. Thank you for calling. Thanks, Mikey. We'll see you. The Mikey Morning Show continues. Featuring Mikey. Eddie and Boston Rob are taking each other on on Thursday, the 28th at K1 Racing in Carlsbad. All P1s are invited to come out there and hang out with us because we're going to do the whole show from out there. And it's going to be pretty cool. They're going to be racing go-karts, and I think we know what the outcome will be, but Rob will show up anyway, and hopefully now. Now, hold on a second. Before everybody freaks out. Go ahead, Eddie. I am not as confident in this challenge as I have been in the past. Because, really, it doesn't take a lot of athletic ability to drive a car. I mean, it takes skill, no question about it. And so, you know, my clear dominance in athletic ability over Rob isn't a factor here. In fact, his small stature may...
Give him the advantage. I'll take that. I'll take what I can get. There you go. It's not extremely small, Sean. I would say it is. It's average, okay, buddy? You're so teeny. Let me tell you something, Buzz. That guy is short. That guy is really small. I'm towering over a tattoo right now. He only goes to your kneecaps. Yeah, like he's little. That's not true. Where are my midgets? Thank you. That's really small. So Knight Rider, as you know, is coming back to NBC. Let's take you back to the 1980s in a television show that David Hasselhoff and a car named Kit made famous. Remember this? Pretty specific. That was my name. If you mind telling me how this thing is driving by itself. It's not a thing. And you may call it Kit. Kit, you try something like that again, I'll put sugar in your gas tank. Don't even think about it. Oh, we got to save that club. Let me see what kind of heart is. It's the opposite of Kit in the all-new Knight Rider. Hey, Justin, good morning. Nice to have you.
series, but did you see it on tape? No, I actually, I caught, you know, I think the third season when it was syndicated, because I believe it aired September 27, 1983. Were you a fan? Did you like it? I was about three years old. So I caught the third season. I was six, so I remember that. But yeah, I was a huge fan. It was my favorite show as a kid. And take a look at Kid, because Kid has actually had a makeover. He's had some work done since we last long. He's actually a Shelby GT500 KR Ford Mustang. Yeah, I like that. driving in this car? This is probably the most beautiful piece of machinery I've ever seen in my life. I kind of have to agree. The new kit looks pretty cool. Yeah, yeah, dude. Come here. Dude, and that clip sounded awesome. It sounds so great. Why do you have to like everything bad? He really gets upset when audio quality is not what he considers broadcast quality. No, but I mean...
Like the action and everything. It sounds really good. Like the show itself. He's saying that the actual new... Yeah, the sugar in the gas tank. That's pretty funny. With Val Kilmer's voice. Yeah, that's an added bonus. It comes as an option if you buy one. This is beautiful. I love this car. It's my favorite thing in the entire world right now. Maybe they'll let you keep it. Maybe not. Everybody's talking once. We'll all have to sit and just really get ready for the new Knight Rider. Wait, I think it premieres, what, Sunday? This weekend, I think? Oh, yes. I think so. Hasselhoff is actually going to be in the pilot. Cameo. Oh, he is? Yeah. Oh, there you go, Sean. Jump in my car. Yeah. Gotta be excited about that. Oh, no. No? No. Speaking of actors that are not relevant anymore, Mario Lopez was on the Ellen DeGeneres show for no reason at all. Cool.
was talking about something that, Sky, I think you might be interested in. Cut 20. As it is. I love re-gifting anyway. Well, you go to these, like, Hollywood parties and these VIPs, you get great swag. And I come from, like, a huge family, and I got, like, over 50 cousins. So come Christmas time, I'm like, you know, re-gifting it all. And they don't know, now they know, again, but... But they appreciate it, and it's all good. It's nice stuff, right? It is. Now your cousin Joe is getting a basket with a bear in it going, what? Right, no, no. I've got to be clever about it. Yeah, who gets it? Exactly. Oh, I would love that, to be able to get the goodies that they get in those bags. Oh, boy. Yeah. I'd probably keep that stuff for myself, though, because it's pretty good. Well, I mean. But the crap junk. Yeah. I would give away. Only the junk goes to my loved ones. Shut up. I would give away the garbage meaning anything not gold. I'm not on that level, but working in radio, you do get some cool promotional stuff. I've got two piles, my gold and not gold. My father-in-law's favorite gift this Christmas was a promotional thing from the station. What? It was that Stanley Spider-Man deal.
He loved that. He was, like, so excited. He was saying he was going to take it down to the comic book store the next day and show it off to all his friends at the comic book store. Well, that was pretty cool. That one was pretty cool. Yeah. Unbelievable. Hey. Boston Rob. Yeah. I heard that you had a pretty nice Valentine's. Dude, this was the best Valentine's I've ever had in my entire life. What was the deal? Well, we, you know, we had dinner planned. last night but that was really all that was on the agenda and i kind of had a busy day so i didn't really expect my fiancee to you know really do too much for me or i wasn't expecting anything and she kind of just you know hit me with this bag of gifts yesterday when we got home we kind of just were like mellowing out before we went out to dinner and she gave me let me preface this with my father gave me a ring when i graduated and i wear it you know on the finger that you're supposed to put your wedding ring on he told me you know don't take that off until you get married and switch hands you know take the ring off put it on the other hand that ring is probably the favorite gift my favorite gift ever in the history of gift and what she gave me yesterday competes with this really yeah because i'm
I'm a big fan of photo albums and pictures and stuff like that. Something to share the memories by. And the last thing she gave me, she gave me a Red Sox DVD, Red Sox license plate holder thing. This awesome little homemade Valentine's Day poem slash card. It looked like when you're little kids and you make a Valentine for someone. And then the last thing she gave me was a calendar for this year, which I don't really have. a calendar yet. I always have a Red Sox one, but that's just for stupid stuff. I didn't have my own personal calendar yet. She made me, I think it was on snapfish.com. What is that, snapfish.com? It's a website where you can upload your pictures and put all your pictures there. You can order prints. It's a really great website. It's amazing. She uploaded pictures of me and her Pictures of me up at Anaheim Stadium watching the Red Sox last year. Pictures of us at Christmas. I mean, for every month, she made a calendar of me and her pretty much. That's cool. Every month. That's a great idea. It's an awesome idea. I'm jealous. I am jealous. And then what you can do is you personalize the calendar. So, you know, the 7th of every month is our anniversary date on there.
It's her birthday, my birthday. She put opening day on there when football began. Like, she did dates throughout the whole year for me. That's really cool. That's cool. Sweet. So you got my birthday on there? No, I'm putting that on there. Perfect. There you go. Thanks. But I mean, and then you can put little sayings on each month under the picture. And I mean, it's just, I was taken back. How big is the, you were taking her back, but how big is it? I was taking her back. You were taking her back. I was rubbing her back. I was bringing sexy back. I was bringing sexy back. How big is the calendar? It's a normal sized calendar. And you had a heart attack is what you're saying? That was nuts. Now, did you get her anything? Yeah. What did you get her? What's that? Listen, I've been struggling for money lately. Because I bought a new car. Understandable. We all know. But what I did do was, you know. Gave her a ride. Hold on. No. I had a little bit. WWE, Mike. I had a little bit of cash. So, I mean, I worked with what I was given. And I made her. She saw, like, a couple weeks ago. This chick was driving around. And she had a big, like, garland heart on the front of her car. So. I made one out of paper clips.
So I actually stole that one from that lady's car. Now she has it. No, I took a coat hanger and I got some garland. I swear to God, it took me a half hour. I made this huge garland-y, big, bright, red heart. And then the night before, I snuck out to her car. And I get her rigged it up on there so it looks all nice. Can you imagine? And then I left a rose on the windshield. Did you leave some Kool-Aid or anything like that? I'm just asking. This is romantic. When you don't have a lot of money, you've got to do... That's sweet. She probably loved it. Marry me, please. And then I did the all-time, this goes over well, doesn't matter who your girl is. I made love to her. No. No matter who you are. I gave her the gift of me. I made her a CD, and then I got her a card, and then, you know, when I left her house, I laid roses everywhere for her. Unfortunately, I scratched the hood with the coat hanger. Oh, no. Well, that's not well. Any auto body people listening out there? Boston Rob at Rock 105. That sounds like nice stuff. Yeah, you did a good job, dude. Yeah, but I mean, that calendar is just...
Oh, my God. You guys are all getting that for gifts now. I want to see it. You should bring it in so we can see it. Oh, I will. The month of May you can't see, though. Whoa. Why? No sex alive. That's her birthday month. Hello. It's a risque picture. Oh, really? That's the only month I want to see. What? Well, there it is. What? Oh, my God. I'll tell you that my kid threw his first tantrum. Oh, no. That's awesome. How did you do? Well, you know, yeah, I got to tell you, I've gone through I've gone through this transformation as a human being. So I'm very I'm very different than I was a year ago, year and a half ago. So I'm extraordinarily sensitive to him. And I broke my heart because I knew even though he was mad.
I knew that he couldn't talk. That's what was, I think, so upsetting to him. But I never, you know, we've never seen him do this kind of stuff where he's gritting his teeth and he's mad. And, you know, you can't just go, well, what's the matter, dude? Right. Why don't you tell me what's the matter and then we'll figure it out. You can't. Nothing so. I talked to Rebecca. She says, well, we got to, we didn't expect this. We didn't expect it to be this soon. Because he was delayed in, he was supposed to start saying words when he was nine months old. And he wasn't saying words, he was just babbling and every once in a while he would kind of repeat something that you would say. But he wouldn't make the connection between, for instance, he wouldn't stand in front of a dog and say dog. He might say the word dog if you say it. Or he might just say dog randomly, but we had no clue that he made the connection that's what a dog is. But recently and by recently, I mean, we were praying about this so hard. And by recently, I mean, like a couple of weeks ago, bam, he just everything like he started saying cat and he started saying and like now you'll go now you'll say something and he will make an attempt at saying it right after you say it. It's great. But along with that behavior comes all this trippy like I have stuff to say. Yeah.
And so he's getting all mad and he was freaking out. And so now Rebecca and I, we have to talk about what we're going to do. Discipline. The belt. Eddie. Yeah. Stop it. I'm telling you, man, that's the way I was raised. Me too. That's the way Eddie was raised. No. Yep. Not in 2008. Right across the face. Uh-uh. Hey. Oh, dad. No, not in 2008, people. Yeah, my wife said, no way. She wasn't raised that way. Yeah, either. She wasn't raised getting hit. What do you mean, no way in 2008? That you take a belt to a child? No, you still can. It's just that you got to be consistent. I'm being serious. They say... I don't know if Child Protective Services thinks a belt is okay. I think spanking is okay with them, but a belt, no. Well, they don't have to know. Don't ask, don't tell, Scott. Who's calling them? I am. You're a bad aunt. Yeah, it ain't... Listen, I mean, I... That's the thing. See what Sky just said right now. A lot of people think that if you hit your kid with a belt, it's like abuse or something. Yeah, I do. It's the way we grew up. I preferred it. Shut up, Eddie. Eddie, get the wooden spoon, right, Eddie? Until it broke. Oh, dude. My mom would chase me with the wooden spoon and I would kind of laugh because it was so ridiculous. And then, you know, I got too big and she hit me one time with it and it broke and I really started laughing. You really did? Yeah.
For real? You laughed? I laughed hysterically. And that made her even more mad. And so she's going through the utensil drawer to find something else to hit me with. And by that time, I was out of there, man. She couldn't catch me. It was hysterical. Now, Skye did not grow up with that. What was a form of discipline? No weed that morning. Shut up. No smoking any bowls that day. Sorry. ever no bull for you no my parents my parents would just have to raise their voice and look at me and i would start crying and apologize yeah that don't work so it was like grounding taking away the phone in like really you know no sex no mother don't take that away that's sky's dad i'm nine i'm very active You can't just cut it off. Can we talk about this, please? Yes, please. Anything but that. I have a date tonight. What do you expect me to do at the bathhouse? What? Don't look directly at her. She works off movement. P1 Nicole. Hello? What's going on, Nicole?
Oh, man, I had a suggestion about this whole tantrum thing. Yeah. Well, and my kid was just starting to really get in touch with his emotions and stuff, and he was still too young to talk. We went ahead and we taught him baby signs, and it's a lot like American Sign Language. Yeah, we've taught you. We've done it. We've done it. Yeah, it's really great stuff. We've done it. The deal is, and he can communicate some things with that sign language, but there's other stuff that makes you mad when you're a little kid that you can't communicate through those. Those hand signals work for very specific things. Like the basics. He can tell us when he's hungry. Yeah. He can tell us when he's done eating. Really? He can tell us, yeah, through the sign language. Oh, that's amazing. Being a kid is tough, huh? Yeah. You got to start this. Here's what they say. If you're going to have a kid and you want to start this stuff, you do the sign language when they turn six months. When they're six months old, you start teaching them the sign language. Nothing's going to happen with any kid. Whether they're delayed with something or not delayed with something. You start at six months, they're not going to do it back to you. You're making an investment that's going to take them about six months to figure out. So you start doing it at six months and then after they're a year old, they will start doing it back to you. And that's what Jake's doing. So Jake knows sign language? Yeah, he knows signs for certain things. When he's done eating.
He does this with his hands, and that means done. And Rebecca will ask him with her hands. That is so cool. She'll go, are you all done? And he'll go like this. This means no. No, no. It means hey, girl. No, you did it, mom. Not my Cheerios. No, you did it. Yo, moms, you better get your hands on my Cheerios. You better step off. You better step off of that, mom. That's what I'm saying, girl. Hi. All right. So he knows that, and he knows a few of them. I don't know what this one is. I don't know what that one is. This is the Mikey Show. If you have not heard what Jane Fonda did, she was on the Today Show. This was yesterday. And I believe that she's talking about a play. The Vagina Monologues. Is she in it? Is that the deal? Yeah. She was in it. It's in New York City on Broadway. But then you were invited to go see Eve. Yes, then I came to New York to see Eve, and it changed my life. Now, what's so interesting is that she says it without, like... it's not like she says it then throws her hand over her mouth and goes oh my goodness sorry you know it's as if like there was oh that's a bad word is that wrong oh really well and also what i find interesting and i know you know i don't you guys are kind of i don't know how to say this but you guys are like smarter about broadcasting than me so i want like save that clip i mean you
You guys have been doing it longer. Mark that, too. You guys have been doing it longer in different formats. Save that clip, too. Every format's different. So what do you think about Meredith Vieira not batting an eye, not addressing it, and going into the next question? It's the best way. It's the best way. You can't draw attention to it. No, you shouldn't. You shouldn't be like... You hope that the censors grab it. You shouldn't be like, Jane, we don't say that word. No, no, no. Dude, that's like the worst thing you could do. I don't know. Well, because I think that would be somebody's normal reaction, a normal person. Well, see, and I almost go the other way. When she said it, if you're Meredith Vieira, you get into a rhythm with somebody. And so when somebody has a certain cadence in their voice, I can make the same sounds of the inflection that she was making. And it sounds a certain way where Jane Fonda was going. And you're just hearing that. That's the cadence of what Jane Fonda said. And at the part where she goes, when I did that, that's a part where somebody laughs. You can tell it was an obvious joke and you laugh. And by the time you started laughing, you realize, oh my gosh, they just said something terrible and I just laughed at it.
Because you get into that rhythm and sometimes it's also like out of this nervousness. So listen to the clip again when you hear the bleep and you'll hear Meredith Vieira laughing. When you do, realize Meredith Vieira in her head is going, oh my gosh, that was bad. Play it again. I know when it started, there were some A-list celebrities who came out to help you. But, Jane, you at first were not a big fan of the play. So what turned you around? Well, it wasn't that I wasn't a big fan. I hadn't seen the play. I live in Georgia, okay? I was asked to do a monologue called ****. And I said, I don't think so. I got enough. Oh, yeah. There it is. So Meredith had to go on the air and apologize. Cut to. You know, before we go to break, in our last half hour, we were talking about the vagina monologues, and Jane Fonda inadvertently said a word from the play that you don't say on television. It was a slip, and obviously she apologizes, and so do we. We would do nothing to offend the audience, so please accept that apology. And when we come up, we're going to be talking about the secrets to making your love last. I mean, this story, of course, this is today. You know, the name of the play itself is a little bit provocative.
So, you know, you're going to talk about this provocative play and you're going to have this woman that's on the show that at one time was sitting on anti-aircraft... Hanoi Jane. Hanoi Jane? She's a hothead. Watch out, man. You never know what she'll be up to. She's crazy. That's Barbarella. Isn't it weird, though, that they didn't have a delay or anything like that to protect themselves? By now, I think it's really weird. Any kind of live broadcast. She's not the first person that's done something dumb. Diane Keaton just did it two months ago on Good Morning America. So the F word. You would think that they would have it figured out by now. This is later on Jane Fonda defending it on Access Hollywood. Cut three. Did you realize what you were saying? Well, it's the name of one of the monologues. And if it offended anyone, I'm sorry. But I was just talking about one of the monologues that I was asked to do at first. And I said, ah, no. If it defended anyone. I heard her say any one-y. Like, how out of touch with reality or pop culture or any, you know, like, how out of touch is she for her to be like, oh. Yeah, like, what if they asked her to do one that was the F word? Like, she would just think, well, they did. They asked me to do it. But you can't say that, Jane. Why not? Well, because it's a bad word. Which one? You know which one.
The F word is a bad word. You don't know that? Okay, I do now. Well, you didn't know that before, Jamie. I was reporting on what had happened. I was offered this thing, and it was the word. Yeah, but you couldn't just say, you know, the F word. You had to actually verbalize the word. You mean say the phrase, the F word. Yes, just say that. Why not just say... I didn't realize that we were all pretending to not have ever heard the word. Well, we have heard the word. You just can't say it on broadcast television. Oh, you did it again, Jay. Please stop doing that. I know, but it's a bad word as well. You can't say that one either? For goodness sake, why don't you just write me a whole lesson? I know you live in Georgia. Oh, please. In Georgia, they... Oh, hey! Please. Fine. We better get up the live. So then, The Late Show with David Letterman. Yeah. Dave reads the top ten reasons Jane Fonda used his excuses. Oh, no. Cut four. So, as you can imagine, I mean, what an uproar. I mean, my God, there you go. And that was live. Live television. All across the country. Wow. Hello. Hello.
So anyway, now we have Jane Fonda excuses. We have 10 excuses. That's the top 10 list. Here we go. Did we open the thing? Yes, it's open. I'm shocked. I don't even know. It's a little staggering. It does. Across the nation. Here we go. Number 10. It was Nickel Beer Day at IHOP. Number 9. It seemed like something people would want to hear first thing in the morning. Number 8. Amy Couric used to say it all the time. Number seven, it's not such a bad word when you think about it. Number six, Roker likes it when I talk dirty. Number five, it was today's entry on my word of the day calendar. Too many years listening to Ted Turner. Number three, ain't been right since injection from Roger Clemens' trainer. Number two, that pinhead Lauer dared me.
One Jane Fonda excuse trying to be romantic on Valentine's Day. Well, isn't that sweet? Jane Fonda and Blunder went to the same school of responsible broadcasting. Come back something extraordinarily fun. Okay, I'll tell you what. Mikey's show will be right back. Time's running out for Old Navy's 40% off baby and kids sale. Overall, within the city, there hasn't been too bad of a ride here this morning. Still really knowing the South on 5. That is still quite tough at events. Needless down to Solana Beach.
Northbound 5 now hit with an accident here that was a rollover accident. Walking lanes before Birmingham Drive. And that's why you're on the brakes heavy here heading northbound. Coming up pretty much from Manchester all the way to the accident scene. We've got also some slow traffic left over in the 805 northbound. Just a bit over the 52, not too bad. And we're still keeping our fingers crossed. Hopefully this eastbound 8 will open up sometime soon with at least a police escort. LA's Department of Animal Services showed up at Paris Hilton's house after she announced that she has 17 dogs. Looks like Lily Lex's new team, Dale Earnhardt Jr., wins the qualifying race for Daytona this weekend. This guy just said something really good, and I was like...
That's really good. And I go, I want to remember that. What did you say? And she'd already forgot what she said. But then she thought about it and she remembered it. Well, no, Taylin reminded me. Taylin. Sky goes, she said, expectations are... Expectations? No, you forgot. No, I didn't. I said it three times so I wouldn't forget. Well said. Expectations are... Expectations are setups for failure. That's great. It's really good. I'm very profound at times. I liked it. I told Sky that I'm reading the book The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands by Dr. Laura Schlesinger. Oh, it ain't a book just for women. It's a book for everybody. Oh, really? That tells husbands how to act good and stuff? No, it talks about the fundamental things that men and women need. But why does it only say for husbands?
Well, because it explains to women what dudes want. And it is beneficial for men to understand why you're so pissed. A lot of times men don't know why they're pissed. And so you read the book and you figure it out. What I have figured out through reading it is, is, wow, my wife's doing this stuff, which I'm real stoked about. In general, we have a... pretty good relationship. We don't really fight too much. And I'm realizing as I'm reading it, what the deal is, is that she's doing a lot of this stuff. See, guys are responsible for stuff too. You know, as guys, we got to do certain stuff too. But the differences between what we want is big time. Very big differences between what we want. Chicks really want to be loved and dudes really want to be respected. It's a big deal. That's a whole other book that Lou suggested that was real good. Eddie got a pretty cool email. Dear Oracle, I just want to let you know the first thing I heard this morning was your story about the Whopper with cheese. Oh, not this again. If you weren't listening. Oh, please no. Eddie was telling a story about when him and I were younger and we had walked into a Burger King restaurant. Eddie noticed that a Whopper.
How much, Eddie? 99 cents, Mike. And he noticed that the Whopper with cheese was how much? $1.39, Mike. What upset him about it was that a cheeseburger was like 79 cents and a regular hamburger was like 69 cents. Which is 10 cents for cheese. He's like, wait a second. The difference between the hamburger and the cheeseburger is 10 cents. It's the same cheese. It's the same cheese. They don't use super Whopper cheese. They don't? No, they don't, Rob. That's what they're trying to fool you. So, Eddie, explain this to the person at the counter at the Burger King, but the person, you know, they didn't get it, and they didn't want to deal with it. Like some teenager, he doesn't care. And, of course, I'm standing there with Eddie. I'm a little bit embarrassed, so I said to Eddie, Eddie, I'll tell you what, I'll give you 50 cents. Let's call it a day. No way. That's a 20 cent profit for Eddie. It's not the point. Everybody else is getting screwed. I'm trying to help you guys. You don't need to yell. You're over here insulting me. Eddie felt it was a principle, you know. Well, I know, but man, pick your battles. Well, if you think about it, if you really think about it, you're getting screwed. Do you want to get screwed? No, but again, pick your battles. Now, Eddie, is there anything to what Sky said? You know, that may be a point. Maybe in the course of picking your battles. That is my battle that I choose to pick. Well, no, this was the war. You thought, you know, hey, listen, this is full on war. It was.
Well, listen, he did something about it. What he did was, he didn't just take it sitting down. Hell no. He went home. He formed a letter, a business letter. He wrote it to the Burger King Corporation, and he mailed it in the mail with a stamp. And they received it, and they'd get back to people. Yeah, which I was kind of surprised. I didn't really expect it to hear back from him, but I did. But then the response angered him even more. Well, it was a direct insult. You know, my letter was all about the cheese and the price of the cheese. And they sent me a coupon for two Whoppers without cheese. So it was like, they were trying to spit right in my face. Yeah, they absolutely were, Sean. It was insulting. So I sent it back to them. You sent it back? I sent it back. And I said, you can respond back to me when you send me coupons for the cheese, which makes sense. Well, they never did. I don't think they make those coupons. I don't think those coupons exist. I bet they do. A coupon for cheese? Free cheese upgrade. They could. Couldn't they have a cheeseburger, you know? What if they would have sent you a Whopper with cheese? It would have appeased me, probably. But the fact that it was a Whopper without cheese. Oh, man. Screw yourself. Wow, the nerve.
Eddie, um... I'm just saying. Don't start. How dare they. Eddie formed a boycott. Ten years. Ten years. Wow. Ten years! For a decade, Eddie did not eat at Burger King. Come on! In direct protest. And there were times where a lot of us friends would be getting together. We'd say, let's go to Burger King. Eddie'd say, that's fine. I ain't eating there. Nope. Wasn't gonna happen. Not on my watch, Mike. I remember one time in Rochester, New York. Oh, no. We all went to a Burger King. Eddie was sitting in the back seat and I was driving. We all went to a Burger King and then we drove through a Taco Bell for Eddie. I wasn't going to eat Burger King. That was like a couple years after my protest began. And it took 10 years for him to finally. And it was a trick. You tricked me. I did. What? I will admit that. We were going out for fast food, and he rolls into a burger game. I'm like, what are you doing? You know the score. He's like, it's time, Eddie. You need to get over it. It's like an intervention. It kind of was. I felt it had been 10 years, and I felt that the crime, the punishment was fit the first time, but the punishment...
But a decade later. Well, they paid their dues. It was a 10-year sentence. They paid their dues. And I felt at that time that my voice was heard and I could, once again, eat at their establishment. Well, the email says, Dear Oracle, just want to let you know that the first thing I heard this morning was your story about the Whopper with cheese. It's made my day and I know there is no possible way to get me in a bad mood now. Thank you for getting me going every morning, P1 Dauber. Well, see, that's incorrect. Your response should be you are in a bad mood because they haven't changed their policy. Oh, they haven't? No, they're still overcharging for the fees. Well, let's not get started. So, you know, if you really want to do something, I say write your congressman. Write your congressman. Well, I mean, again, it's not fair. It's not right. It doesn't make any sense. Thank you. Thank you. Stop talking. I'm not going to protest. What if it was like the honey glaze on a ham? Oh, then forget it. Then you'd be in an uproar. I like ham. So you're saying the Swiss on a regular ham and Swiss. I don't eat Swiss.
without the Swiss. I hate Swiss cheese, so don't figure it out. But you're telling me the happy, dappy, dappy dude here at Honey Bait. The 40 cents more. That's the same Swiss. It's the same Swiss. Oh, no. I wouldn't do a decade-long protest. Maybe a 15-year. Yeah, it'd be forever. Forever, yeah. Lucky she could stay away from the Honey Bait store. I'd execute them if I could. Execute. That's right. Yeah, there's no staying away from that Honey Baked store. Honey Baked? It's really good. She really likes them. And Skye, by the way, if you're new to the show. What? She will not even dabble in other, like for instance, my mother-in-law saw on the Food Network that Lady Paula Deen owns her own ham company. She does? Yeah. Really? And it's like supposed to be this really great ham. And she said, Now, I know you guys give Sky a hard time about honey-baked ham. She goes, would she try this? Of course. And I said, yeah, she would try it. But regardless of the taste, she wouldn't buy it. No. Regardless of how great it tasted, she wouldn't buy it. You don't know. And she said, why? And I said, because she's a honey-baked girl. Add it. Yep. Well, they've been good to me. I've been good to them. It's a great relationship. Mm-hmm.
I don't see what the problem is, but I'd definitely be willing to try it. Practically a junkie, Mike. That's right. P1 Garrett? Yeah. What's up? Hey, what's up? Yeah, I just had a comment on that Whopper thing. Oh, no. You're saying, like, you went into the Burger King and the regular hamburger was 69 cents and then it was extra for cheese, 10 cents more for a cheeseburger? Yes. The Whopper's 99 cents without cheese and then $1.39 with cheese? Okay. I think the difference in the price in that is because the Whopper, the size of the patty of the burger itself. It's the same cheese, bro. It's the same cheese. Eddie claims it's the same cheese. It's the same cheese. They don't have super Whopper cheese. for the Whoppers, and like regular cheeseburger cheese for the cheese. Well, that's what really upsets me. That's BS. Look at him. I support this. See, this is what they're trying to pull over on the public. They're trying to pull the wool over your eyes, bro. You're thinking right now, oh, they're using different cheese because of the size of the patties. They don't, bro. Wait a second. I worked at a fast food joint. I know it's one giant block of cheese that they use, and they pull the damn cheese off. What the man? I got it.
It's ridiculous. Is it going to upset Eddie? Maybe, but I've got to ask it. I want you to talk me through it. I'd be happy to help you. I'm sure you're fooled like this guy was. I don't like the tone. Maybe what this gentleman is saying is that with the Whopper with cheese, the patty is actually bigger. The cheese is the same, but the patty may be a different size. What's your point? Well, that's why they're charging you for the patty. They're charging you for the patty. They're not charging you for the patty, Mike. Don't yell at him. The hamburger without the cheese is 99 cents. Eddie, I got your back. No, wait a minute. If people don't respond well when you yell. Well, then talk to him. What is he saying? Why doesn't he understand this? It's very clear. Please. Listen, Mike. Please. Hey, dude on the phone, shut it. That's the price for the patty, not the cheese. Don't you understand? I don't know what we're yelling about. See, Mike, you're already paying for the patty in the original price of the Whopper. If you get a Whopper with cheese, the size of the patty is exactly the same. That's not according to this guy. No, this guy is trying to claim that the piece of cheese is bigger, and Eddie is disputing that. Yeah, that is wrong. P1 Garrett, if you think that the cheese...
I misunderstood me. I didn't say that the piece of cheese was bigger. I said that the Whopper burger, the patty itself is bigger. That's what I thought he said. Okay, Guy, but do you realize that that price is in the price of the Whopper without cheese? Right. That's why it's 69 cents for a hamburger, 99 cents for a Whopper. That's where the price difference is for the patty. Now, for the cheese specifically, it is the same cheese that they put on the hamburger and the cheeseburger. That is 10 cents more. If you go back and look at the Whopper with cheese, it is 40 cents more for the additional. Jeez. You're talking about a regular Whopper or a Whopper Junior? Because I've never went to Burger King and got a Whopper for $99. This was back in 1984. I don't even remember when. I don't know what it is now. I haven't been there in a long time. I don't go there regularly. I'm still kind of pissed. Obviously. Well, you're getting me worked up by giving me all these reasons. I know the reasons. I did my research. Eddie, let me ask you a question. Mike?
Be gentle. I am. Okay, I'm worked up right now. I'm giving you the heads up. Maybe we don't realize it, and that the deal is, is that they put maybe, I don't know, it's just offering it as a suggestion. Maybe they put two slices on that Whopper with cheese. Have you ever had a Whopper with cheese? They don't. Yeah, I've never had one. They don't. I've had them plenty of times, and yeah, I have not seen. Two slices. There's no extra cheese. No. Okay. With a whopper with cheese. Okay. It's just a question, Eddie. Okay. Well, I'm giving you the answer. Okay. We've heard you. We have a representative on the line from Burger King. Is it the King? It is not. Well, then I don't want to speak to him. It's P1 Joe. Are you there, Joe? Yeah, I'm here. What did you want to say? I love you guys. First off, I used to work at Burger King, but they put two slices of cheese on those things. That's not true. They do. But you know what? Even if they did, bro, that would be an extra 20 cents, not 40 cents. Accurate. It's because it's two slices. The two slices don't equal 40 cents, bro. They equal 20 cents. Believe me, I agree on that. That's very interesting. Well, this adds a whole new twist. It does add a different element. I don't believe it. I don't believe it. I've had a Whopper with cheese several times. This guy called and he's lying. Yeah. I think he's trying to get on the air.
I want to talk to another. I want to talk to you, Burger King employees. Is there one around here and we can send them to go buy one? Yeah. I will not pay for that. They're not serving regular food yet. It's 930. They're probably still just serving regular food. Hey, Craig Gass is on the warm line. What the heck? Craig. Hey, man. I'm kind of an expert in fast food. Okay, he is. That's really all he eats. Yeah, and I think the situation must be, and I totally agree with Eddie, this is some kind of pyramid scam, and it's not cool. Pyramid scam. But I think that the Whopper is normally priced, I think, $129, and then they put it on sale sometimes for 99 cents. Eddie, wasn't it a promotion? No. I mean, this was seriously like 20 years ago. It was a while ago. So I don't even remember if it was. I doubt it was a special promotion. That was probably the price back then. Right. Now they probably do do that. I think that from time to time they put the Whopper on sale for 99 cents. But I agree. If that's the difference between a hamburger and a cheeseburger is 10 cents, it should be the same. People don't look at it like that, Craig. They're sheep. They go in and they pay for their meal. They don't think. Like, hey, wait a second.
They don't bust out their calculator. It's the same cheese for both burgers. Why is one 10 cents more and one 40 cents more? It doesn't make any sense, Skye. Craig, do me a favor. If I were talking to Al Pacino about this very topic, and I were to say to Al, Al, are you a fan of being overpriced for products? Is that what this country has come to? I think we've gotten to a point where we've fallen asleep. I think that we need to rise up. Rise up. And take back what it's right for you. Yes. We do not get robbed. Thank you. Thank you.
Real quickly, before you have to go, Sam Kennison is on the line as well. Oh, good. And so, Sam, you can tell by looking at you, you used to love Burger King, man. What do you think about the whole thing? Well, I can't believe it. It's just gone on me. I mean, every time I think about it, it makes me want to throw up. That's all those times I was spending an extra 30 cents. Oh, my God. It's a great Craig gas, ladies. We missed the laugh. Do the laugh again. Did he hang up? He's lost his mind. Craig, you there? I could listen to that all day long. He did that last Sunday in my car and I thought my right eardrum blew out. I love you, Michael.
I love you too. What are you even talking about? The Mikey Show. Rock 105.3. Four days only. The Giant Used Car Tent Sale at Qualcomm Stadium. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Still finding a tough ride in the north county along the shoreline here, we have a traffic alert still in effect on northbound 5. There was a bad rollover accident blocking lanes up before Birmingham Drive. That's got you on the brake still from approaching the racetrack, actually, at Villa La Valla here in Del Mar for a slow crawl up the hill into Solana Beach. South 5 is also seeing some heavy traffic hanging on here at events near towards Solana Beach on this side. Other than that, the rest of our freeways are looking here pretty good here within the city.
Some good news for commuters trying to get out of town here on this eastbound date. Looks as though CHP is about to do some escorts once again at East Willows Road. Release the traffic here. They're going to escort you through all the way out to Crestwood, and then they'll let you go on your way. So that's great news for all those folks who have been stranded for, gosh, forever, sitting in Alpine, trying to get out of town for a nice three-day weekend. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Is this Rebecca? Yes, it is. I understand that you went to sleep train. Yes, I did. What happened? Well, my husband and I went back last May. We just got married, so we bought our new mattress. We got a really good deal on it. They threw in free sheets and pillows because we said we heard about it through you. And they also gave us the free mattress protector, so it was really cool. And I referred my mom to go there because she is buying a bed for my grandmother just this last week. And she went to the Curti Mesa store, and they actually beat the price. on a Costco mattress. The Sleep Train was selling it for, I think, around $1,000, and then the Costco price was like $500-something, so they beat that, which is awesome. They just won Best Mattress Store, and there's a reason for it. They're really good. The prices are great, and if you're getting one of these good name-brand mattresses, or no matter what you're looking for, they're great. How is that mattress in terms of being comfortable? It's awesome. I can't get out of bed in the morning.
It's really comfortable. That is good stuff. Thank you. You got it. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. You are listening to The Mikey Show. With Mikey. Being Christian was like really good for me. Eddie. When have I ever been overconfident? Sky. Once I'm out on somebody, I'm out. Yeah. Sean. Hold on. You're making me sound like I'm crazy. I'm out. Be Rizzle. Go me. All right. That's right. Go you. And Ashley. Hi. I'm a laughy person. The Mikey Show's on. Oh, we are messed up in the head. Rock 105.3. They just don't do that. Women do-do humor. They just do not get it. Don't speak that language. I've told that story to my wife, dying laughing like that, and she just stares at me, man. That's seriously my favorite story I've ever heard. Me too. I love that story. It is 9.40. The Pentagon announced yesterday that they'll use a missile to try and shoot down a broken satellite. Indiana's coach Kelvin Sampson's status as head coach will be cited by a game-by-game basis now. We would tell you this story, but it is not a radio story. You gotta win P1 trivia to hear that story. That's right. Subject of this email is the Whopper. Here we go.
Says, Eddie, I got your back, bro. I feel the exact same way. Your fight for this made my day. Yes. You're the best. Keep it real. Hope you and the gang have a great weekend. Signed, P1 Lobo Loco. We have sent Zeth out to Burger King. Well, somebody called and they said they do to sell a Whopper right now that they're selling regular food. I thought that she had to wait. We'll see if there's. two slices of cheese on it. There isn't. Something tells me there isn't two. I don't know. I was offering it as a suggestion. Mikey Show. Hi, I just wanted to tell you that they do sell Whoppers right now. Yeah, that's what we just sent Zeth out and we're going to see if he can produce one. Yeah, because I know McDonald's the only company that actually sells only breakfast before like 1030, but everywhere else they sell everything. Gotcha. I wonder why they do that. They probably sell way more food if they didn't do that. What are you guys talking about?
I can't. What? What was that? I don't. Zeph, I can't even hear you. What's the point of me? I don't. I lost it. I don't think they start to sell it anyway until I... After what? You almost... I almost had that one. It's pretty frustrating. Sky, last night, enjoyed herself a nice dinner. Yes, I did. She went to the Outback. So happy. Happy hour or what's the deal? Did you make it there at happy hour? I don't think they have happy hour, Mike. Of course they do. They do? Yes. Maybe in the bar, like on drinks. Sky, do you and Mr. Sky, do you guys like put on that prosthetic makeup to look like senior citizens when you guys go out so that you're able to go in there? I'm sorry we didn't want to have to wait two hours for a table. You don't have to go to the Outback.
There are other restaurants in San Diego. But I want to go to the Outback. It's one of my favorite restaurants. Okay, well, you can do that any day of the week. Says you. What's your favorite thing? We save the Outback for special occasions. What's your favorite thing? That's like our birthday holiday place. What's up? What's your favorite deal that you get there? It's also good, Mike. Well, my favorite is like a meal for the whole... experience of it. Right. And it's the Victoria's Filet. Got it. And I like it with the steamed vegetables and the salad with ranch. That sounds like senior food at the Senior Center, but she loves it. Yes. She loves it. I like the Outback too, but it's, you know, it's the Outback. I mean, it's like going to... Chili's. It is. It's the same thing. Appetizer. Do you get appetizer? Normally. Normally what we do is we get an appetizer and then we split the meal. What kind of appetizer? That we switch up between the coconut shrimp, the Aussie cheese fries, and occasionally, and I know you guys aren't going to believe this, the seared ahi.
You get the sushi? Really? Yeah. No. That's the only place I'll eat it. That's the only place I'll eat it. Because they have this ginger dipping sauce, and I cover it in that, and that's all I taste. It's impossible. It's impossible. I get my omega-3s that way. That means that he's talked you into it. Yeah. That's why you gave him hope. You realize that's why he still does this. You one time. It's because... We had to go to Mama's Fish House when we were in Maui because Mike said we had to go there. It's the best place ever. And there, you know, we had to get fish. And I was like, OK, what's like the safest thing? And he said, ahi. And it wasn't that bad. And so wasn't that bad. Are you kidding? It must have been. I know. I haven't had the ahi at Mama's Fish House, but it's got to blow your I bet it blows your mind. It's like probably right out of the water. Dude. Yeah. Was it real good? I enjoyed it. Yeah. Again, it had a ginger sauce on it, though. Things have to have ginger sauce on it. Ginger sauce is very important. This lady, man. So if you would like. And my husband, he actually said to me last night about ahi. He was like, so if I buy it and cook it at home. And I said, no. No. Why? Why? Why? Have him make the ginger sauce. Well, first I said, you have to come to the Outback and get the ginger sauce. And you would also have to get the like 700 spices that they put on the outside of it and then sear with. So you'll eat fish.
At Outback Steakhouse. I'll eat off. And not at Ocean Air. No, no, no. Nowhere else. Nowhere else. Nowhere else. I'll eat the seared ahi with that ginger sauce. If Ocean Air could order up some of that ginger sauce. But they have their own sauces, which are delicious. Do they have that ginger sauce? If it says ginger sauce, will you try it? I don't know. Oh, my goodness. Get Brian Malarkey on the line. I know it, man. Get Malarkey on the line. I'm furious right now. This lady is crazy. Outback. Those are the appetizers we get there. I'm telling you, man. We got to do normal foods with Sky. No, we do not. I'm fine. That would be the best. But it was a lovely dinner last night. If you were cool, we would. We had a lovely dinner. But she's not, so we won't. Yep. Lovely dinner at 4 o'clock last night. It was awesome. That's not last night. That's yesterday afternoon. It was last night for me. That was my dinner. All right, so what's coming out in the movies, Skye? What do we got? What's hitting theaters today? Well, it's weird because all the movies came out yesterday. Why did they come out on a Thursday? Valentine's Day. Oh, so many dumb movies. Valentine's, dinner and a movie, maybe get a jump on the four day. Some great movies out. Oh, Sean. Dude, you're an idiot. Get out of here. Sean.
I agree that he's an idiot, but in this regard... Dude, Jumper's coming out. Yes, Jumper did come out yesterday. Cut 36. Anybody can rob a bank. What I'd like to know is how you rob a bank without opening any doors. This conversation's over. This conversation's not over. Do you answer my... Oh, whoa! You gotta see Sean while that clip is playing. His mouth is open and he's like a kid in the 1940s laying on the ground in front of the radio. That movie is awesome, man. Little Orphan Annie. Yes, dude. It's like he's listening to Little Orphan Annie on the radio. He was just so into that clip. With his little decoder. That's right. Cut 35. Let me tell you about my day so far. Coffee in Paris. Took a little nap on Mount Kilimanjaro. Surped the Maldives. And I got digits from this port. I can't act. Sean's into it. It sounded like an internet movie. Did you see the little spot they did with Ryan Seacrest before American Idol? Oh, yeah, dude. What, Eddie? What? What happened? It was...
Beyond words of how stupid it was. It was not stupid. American Idol opens up on Wednesday with Seacrest and Hayden Christensen, who's the star of Jumper, sitting on top of the Sphinx in Egypt, eating sandwiches. And then they jump back to Hollywood in front of the American Idol sign. And they did the special effects and everything. So they did special effects? They weren't really in Egypt? No ass I was referring to when they were jumping. Oh, oh. Oh, oh. I'm sorry, Sean. I was confused first. Go straighten your hair. Here is Samuel L. Jackson on if those jumpers, because a lot of people are wondering, hey, are the jumpers good? Are they bad? That's right. I can't figure it out. Here's Samuel L. Jackson talking about it, 38.
There's a gray area in terms of whether he is bad or good, because we have no idea. My character seems to think the history of the jumpers and the paladins is that eventually they go bad. So maybe through the process of doing it, or the longer you do it, things start happening to you. And you do endanger other people, because when you jump, the residual things happen around you. The jumpers are bad, Brit! The jumpers are bad! Ezekiel! 25! That's a really bad Samuel L. Jackson right there. The worst I've ever heard. The worst I've ever heard in my life. Weird. Was his name Brett the guy that he shot on the couch? No, he didn't shoot Brett. No, Brett was the guy eating the big hoonabird. He got Brett's attention. Oh, yeah. Oh, did I break your concentration? Say what again? Say what again? How dare you? That's a good scene. Best scene ever. Oh, wow.
It's the only movie I've ever seen in the theater where I wanted to just keep sitting there and wait for it to start again. So great. This is a tasty burger. May I wash it down? With some of your beverage? That is a wonderful beverage. Sky, have you ever seen the movie Pulp Fiction? Yes, Mike. What did you think of it? I enjoyed it. It didn't seem very sincere. Well, I'm just annoyed that he's asking. You haven't seen a lot of great movies. That's not true. It is true. Have you seen The Godfather? I haven't seen a lot of dude movies. You haven't seen a lot of gay movies, yeah. Is it? Well, sure it is. I thought it's like an everybody movie. No, it's definitely a guy movie. But not only that, Eddie's right. You haven't seen a lot of great movies. No.
great movies that are dude movies. The Godfather is not a dude movie. Yes, it is. It is on most critics' number one, number two greatest movie of all time. If you watch Everything's Got Mail, they discuss how... Everything's Got Mail? Everything does have mail. If you watch... Everything's Got Mail. If you watch You've Got Mail... It says when you sign on to AOL. Is that Afghan online? Everything got mail. Everything got mail. Everything marry mail. Mail. There's a whole part where Meg Ryan talks about how all dudes have seen that. Everything got mail. Shut up. I asked my wife yesterday, I go, this weekend, can we watch Jaws? Ooh. Oh, nice. Yes. Yes, we can. She looked at me and she went, mm-mm. And I laughed. I laughed. I thought it was funny, but the truth is I heard a little inside. This guy has probably never seen... Let's see. Let me think of a classic that I'm sure she's probably never seen. I will bet that you've all... No doubt you've never seen Apocalypse Now. No way she's seen King of Comedy. No way. No way. No way. She hasn't. Great movies. That's not a guy movie. There's more new movies out today. The Deer Hunter. Have you ever seen that?
You can't just make up movies, Mike. Not only has she never seen it. Never heard of it. Never heard of it. What else is up? The Spiderwick Chronicles. That's kind of cool. Who's in that? Oh, man. It's a ripoff of, like, Narnia. Yeah. It's, like, kids' best-selling series of kids' books made into a movie. Cut 32. It's a fairly ambitious undertaking, making this into a movie, I think. Yeah. But it's so magical. It's such a rich story. It's modern and at the same time it's really magical for kids. So I think it's in a way something that they can really relate to and at the same time lose themselves in. And then I sell you a bag of weed. Cut 34. Mom, you gotta believe me, okay? No, no, no. One more word about fairies and goblins and I swear. Goblins, I know, but I hid the book. They'll never find it. I hope they don't. Why is she screaming? I'm the one who should be screaming. The circus! This is about to be broken. I'm the one that should be screaming. He's not the problem. Stay off. Click on up. Hopefully Zed will be back. A pot. Blueberry pancakes. Damn, damn, baby. Where I'm from, a retarded guy could never have this much fun. It's Mikey. Rock 1053.

K-I-O-Z, San Diego, hit it. Maybe if you jump, he'll hit it. What do you mean? He'll have a jumper. Oh. K-I-O! K-I-O! K-I-O! K-I-O! It worked. It worked. All right, let's see this. All right, I have in front of me a Whopper with cheese. I want to see it. Where the cheese is located. It appears to have one slice of cheese, but wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. That's one piece of cheese. Let me see. Skye, there looks like there's one piece of cheese on that bad boy. Thank you. But it does cover almost... So? What's your point? Well, isn't the regular burger patty smaller? So what are you saying? They use different cheese? Yeah. They don't. They slice it different. I asked them. They don't. They use the same cheese. All right. I will defer to you since you're very passionate about this. Trust me, bro. One piece of cheese. Point proven. I win. You win everything. Congrats to you.
Listen, I win. For a living, my friend. I do nothing. Nothing. Doesn't pay for a location here. I was the recipient of a large settlement. Corporate merger? Actually, a plane crash. Oceanic Airlines, flight 815. I'm Saeed Jarrah, one of the Oceanic Six. Dude. You know why that show's good? Because that sounds good. That doesn't sound like bad acting. That sounds like good acting. That's good. It was awesome. You're right. Sky, we have to talk about it. I'm sorry. Sky, come on, we've got to talk about this. She's wearing a hooded sweatshirt and she's got the hood part stuffed in her ears and she's got her palms up to her ears so she won't hear it. The opening scene of the show last night, you see Saeed golfing and you know what's going on.
And you find out it's another flash forward, and he's the fourth member of the Oceana Six. So we don't know who the other two are. We don't know yet, but we also found out that Ben is apparently off the island, and Saeed, at the end of the episode, was working for him as an assassin. It's crazy. I wish Skye would discuss it, but... I wish she would stop singing. She refuses to. She refuses to do it. All right, we've got to get out of here. 570-1053 is our phone number beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment. You can call about anything you want at the beginning and end of every show. So give us a call right now. We would love to say hello to you. And then we got to Splitzola for a three-day weekend. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's right. Celebrating the presidents on Monday. Yeah, well, I hope that we all take time to really reflect on the... Different presidents of the United States of America. Which one do you like the best? Taft. I'll probably be spending a lot of time with Taft. I'm going Grover Cleveland this year. Really? Yeah, I'm going Adams. Which one? Both. Brian. Mikey Show. Yeah, when's Eddie going to beat some more people down in pop culture trivia? We've got to do that again. I haven't done that in a while. We haven't done a lot. There's a lot of stuff we haven't done in a while. We've got to bring that back. Mikey Show trivia. Hello. Mikey Show. Hello.
Go ahead. You're on the air. Hey, I just wanted to say, you guys are great. Happy President's Day on Monday. And a quick question. Do you guys have, like, a limit for the P1 trivia winners? Like, can they go ones or twithers? I think we'd like to give new people a shot at it. You know, I mean, if somebody hasn't played for a really, really long time and they want to try, I mean, I guess that's okay. But it's always best to just, we don't have a set rule, but we generally like to let new people try it out. If not, Space Boy would be in here every Friday. That's true. I wanted to be there every Friday. Have you won before already? Yeah, it's T1 Naked. Okay, cool. All right, brother. All right, man. Take care. Mikey Show. Hey, this is T1 Green, man. I got something to say about the sports challenge. I was thinking that Eddie and B-Rob should have teams out of T1 because those tracks, they're like Grand Prix style.
12 people can race at one time. Maybe you could have some type of competition for P1s or some type of auction. Nah, dude. I wanted to be one-on-one. When we had P1s get involved last time, I got screwed. Maybe since we're going to be out there all morning, right? Maybe after your guys' things done, we could do a P1 race challenge. I definitely want to jump in a car after they're done. We'll play around. The race itself has got to be me versus Rob. One-on-one. That's right. Mano-y-mano. Mikey Show. Hello. Hey, guys. How's it going? This is P1 Germ Freak. What's Sean doing? Hey, Germ Freak. Well, this is Sean. This is obviously Sean. As you said, it's P1 Germ Freak. You don't recognize his voice? Not yet. What can I do for you, Germ Freak? I just want to remind everyone to go and see Jumper. What are you doing? It's a fantastic movie. It definitely is, Sean. Yeah, whatever. Well, I think... Thank you for doing that. Mikey Show. Hello. Hi, Quimby. That was a great call. Oh, Sean. That's ridiculous. What? I mean, it does look like a great movie. I agree with the guy. Whatever. What's going on, Quimby? Okay. So, you know, sometimes it takes a big person to admit when they're wrong. Uh-huh. And I would like to say that, Eddie, I'm now on your side with who is in the coffin.
on the show live. Thank you. Skye just ripped her headphones off. Thank you. Skye's irritated at you right now, Quimby. Well, after that... It's only about the 19th time, by the way. When Skye watches it, I think she will be on Eddie's side as well. Yeah. She didn't want to hear that. She didn't want to hear that, Quimby. Let's not name names. We know for sure that it's not who you and Skye thought it was. Exactly. Okay, I'm okay with that, but let's, come on, let's let a girl go enjoy her TiVo. Thank you. Thank you very much. So who do you guys think it is then? I think it's Sawyer. Yep. Oh, this guy's so irritated right now. Oh, this guy is so irritated right now. She's so mad. You guys are jerks. You're one gunslinger either. Good morning. I just want to get your guys' take on when I went to buy flowers yesterday off the street corner, the guy was adamant about tipping him because it was so cold out and he had a tip cup and everybody who...
came by, he told them the prices, and he said, and a tip for me, and kept pointing at his cup. Just wondering what you guys thought of that. I don't know. Eddie, what do you think? I'm sure Sean has thoughts on tipping. Well, wait, let's clarify. Well, is he really doing anything? Well, let's clarify. This is like a guy with a folding table on the side of the road with little flowers? That is correct. Okay, come on. Give me a break with that. Anyone that really... Yeah, because that guy sets up his own thing. He sets his own prices on the flowers. You know what I mean? I was going to say that... I'm sorry, Mike. Rob is saying something. There's one thing that's kind of weird. It's like, if you have to... Don't do it. If you have to tip somebody in a little cup, it's almost unnecessary. You know what I mean? That's maybe a loose change tip. You know what I mean? Anything that goes in a cup for tips, You don't really have to do it. I'm serious. I don't know. Nice places you don't drop. Thank you. I'm done. Mike, you do it. I'll see Jumper this weekend. Stop it, Sean. All right, listen. We got to get out of here. Every day. No, no, no. Not every day. Every Friday. Every single day. Every single day. This time. Testimony goodbye. That's right. We're not here.
Every Friday at this time, I give you my testimony, which is that I tell you how it is that I... who I used to be, what happened to me, and why it happened, and who changed my life, and all that stuff. And each week, it's a challenge for me to hopefully tell it in a way that makes it kind of new and different, but it's a very simple concept. I have... At one time in my life, I've struggled with just about everything. Struggled with food. Struggled with alcohol. Struggled with bulimia at one time. When I was very little, I was a victim of sexual abuse when I was five years old from a neighbor kid. And there are people listening right now that probably have gone through some kind of thing like this or another in their life, or they're going through it right now.
And so I mentioned this stuff to you because maybe you can relate to it and you go, yeah, that's how I feel. I feel very lonely right now. But the biggest thing that may be missing in your life is hope. And you go, well, how do I turn it around? You know, I don't have anything to hope for. So how am I supposed to just somehow find hope? Hope is a really powerful thing. And when you don't have it, it's like not having a million dollars. The cool thing is, is that I feel like that this million dollars could be available to you for free. Somebody said to me the other day, how do you know if you're saved? Because, Mikey, I know that that's the whole message of your Friday thing is that you talk about how you were that guy who was broken down and addicted to alcohol and you were lonely and you felt like you didn't have anything.
And then you say that you became saved. And how did that process happen? I just admitted the things that I was doing in my life that were wrong. Because all of us do stuff that's wrong. I admitted all the stuff that I did was wrong. And then I asked Jesus Christ to forgive me of all those things. And then I asked him to come into my life and change me. And he did. And from that moment on, I was saved. And if you do that, you can be saved too. And once that process happens, I'm going to tell you that from that moment on, the guy's up in heaven and he's making a place for you. He's making a place just specifically for you. Space to call all your own. Only it isn't like a grain of sand here on earth. It's forever. And so that's why I tell you about this. That's a hope in itself.
You want to see something supernatural happen in your life? Do that. And mean it, because he'll know. It's such a supernatural and amazing experience. It was for me, and it can be for you. That's how I found hope in my life. And today, I can tell you, happier than I've ever been in my entire life. Ever, ever, ever, ever. So grateful and so happy for the changes that he made in my life. 37 years old. And it took me a long time to get there. But if you are looking for that hope, maybe it can happen for you the same way. We play this song by this band called Third Day. And the song is called Tunnel. And it's all about hope. And I really invite you to listen to the words to the song. And this band is going to be in town on Wednesday of next week. And they're going to be coming into the studio.
