Testing 1-2. Testing 1-2. Hello. All right, everybody. It is 6-0-6. Fidel Castro has officially stepped down as Cuba's president and military commander-in-chief. Yankees pitcher Andy Pettit held a press conference yesterday to apologize for using HGH. Yeah, I really want to get into that. I'm so curious about that and want to figure out what it's all about. Eddie's going to have details coming up. Phone lines are open for you. 570-1053 is the number you can call us at the beginning and end of every show. And talk to us about anything that you want. It's an open phone forum. So anything that's on your mind, you can call and talk to us about. And we're going to do something a little bit different today. Before the show starts, what we do is we all huddle up before the show starts. And we kind of talk about stuff that went on the night before. Then I write down things that I think are interesting and that we should get to. And sometimes I get to them, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I'll hear things and I'll go, I don't know, we should get into that. And I won't even write it down. There's strange things that go on during that meeting. And I thought, what if we were to completely pull the curtain back and have that conversation on the air? And we've never done that. That's going to be interesting.
Never done that. And basically all it is is, hey, what happened to you last night? And in this case, what happened to you over the last three days that we haven't seen each other? And instead of hearing Zeph mumble off the air, we'll be able to hear him mumble on the air. Exactly. Like that. Did you hear that? I couldn't understand. Couldn't understand. Me neither. Still didn't hear it. So, all right, let's get started. 5701053 is the open phone line number. I had an interesting weekend. I jammed my finger real bad and found out that I had some pulled ligaments in my index finger. Oh, gosh. For real? Yeah, it was the dumbest injury I've ever sustained. Idiot! It looks beautiful now. It's gorgeous. It was purple and black and discolored, and it was all blown up like a balloon. How did you do that? Well, it was Saturday night, and I was sitting...
I was sitting on the floor. Try to get a visual of this if you can. I was sitting on the floor on the carpet outside of our master bedroom. I'm sitting almost Indian style. Try to get a visual of that if you could. I was petting Jewel's stomach, scratching his stomach, and playing with him the way that cats play. Biting him, stuff like that. He likes it when I do it. I'm doing that, and Sydney, the other cat, who I think still to this day is a French spy, I think he killed Ginger. I think he gave her that cancer. I think he gave her the cancer. I do. I know, but I think he's up to something. You see it in his face. So anyway, he's walking towards me, and the door behind me is open to the master bedroom, and it's late at night, and I can see what he's doing. He wants to go in there.
And I don't want him in there because in the middle of the night, he'll wake up and meow to go out. And so he comes and he walks kind of fast and I put my hand out and no, don't. But he's determined. If I want to go in, I'm going to go in. I do not need you to try to make a stop of me. So he probably did it about three times. And on the fourth time, he ran for it. I will flee. Charge. I didn't catch me. And I tried to grab him, and as hard as I could, my index finger went straight into the cabinet. And I screamed, man. I screamed. It hurt so bad. It hurt so bad. And so it was late, and I said, well, I'm going to suck it up. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going to, you know. And I could tell something was wrong with it.
But I said, I've got some ibuprofen. I'll take the ibuprofen and I'll go to sleep. No ice? Nothing. I wish I knew what the right thing was. I don't know. Ice? Hot? I don't know. Now I know. Ice. Yeah, you gotta ice it just so it won't swell. Yeah. Well, I didn't and it did. It swelled. So I woke up and it was purple and black and it was swollen up. And that day we were making... Chili Concarne, me and my dad. So I wasn't going into urgent care. And it was Sunday, and I wanted my day. I don't want to do nothing. And so I didn't. And it blew up like a balloon. And then finally yesterday, I went to urgent care and took care of it. And all they did was give me a bunch of Motrin and said it's going to take a few weeks for the ligaments to go back to normal. Whatever. I just hate that cat. I just can't stand that cat, man. I cannot stand that cat. And when we made that chili con carne, I have no perception of heat anymore. Honestly, I've been desensitized to it. I honestly thought, this is barely spicy. And I told everyone at dinner, guys, it's just spicy. It's not hot at all. They all thought it was, they were all burned. Except for my dad. The women were burned. And they were being polite and eating it. But it was too hot. Saturday night, I'm sure she doesn't want me to talk about this. But it's okay, honey.
I love you. It doesn't matter. It happened. It's over. Are you sure you should do that? She embarrassed me so bad. What did she do? Well, we go to church now at North Coast Church in North County. It's real close to us. The Rock Church is still great. And so some people are hearing for the first time, I don't go to the Rock Church anymore. I love the Rock Church. If we lived closer, we'd still be doing it. God's been calling us to this other church. We're going to this other church. But I'm still friends with Miles. Miles will still come on the air every once in a while if he has something to promote and talk about something. I love it. And I told him, I'm still available to you. You need me to do anything for you. I'll do it. So I might even be speaking at the Rocks Easter service. Nice. But anyway, so we're going to this new church, North Coast, which if you're young, it's rad, man. That place is rad.
For younger people. For everybody. I mean, they got what they call a venue there for old timers too. You know, it's all people my mom and dad's age in there listening to the standards. But anyway, so we're there. And after we're done with church, the people that we go to, we go out to dinner. We've been making it a habit to go out to dinner. And so this guy that we go with, his name is Bo, who I'm starting to become friends with. And he goes, hey, what do you guys think of Soup Plantation? You guys know how I feel about Soup Plantation. I love Soup Plantation. It's your favorite, right? Well, my wife loves Soup Plantation. And it's just not one of my favorites. What? I apologize. You don't like Soup Plantation? To each their own. I don't care for it. I'm a fan. You're not. Yeah, Eddie likes it. I don't care for it. Some people care for it. Some people don't so much. Doesn't make it right or wrong. Just a matter of opinion. Now, my wife knows this. And now, so he says, what do you guys think of soup plantation? I go, that's cool. Trying to, you know, you're new friends. You don't want to rock the boat. Sure, sure, sure, sure. He'll suck it up. He hates soup plantation. She says. And I say, baby, what are you doing? Come on now.
And immediately she kind of knew. But she didn't know what to say next, so she goes, well, he doesn't. Well, this went well. So we go, and the whole time I'm thinking, oh, they think I'm hating this. And I didn't hate it. It's just not my favorite. It's not like soup plantation. It's that style of dining. You're not into the whole buffet thing. Some people aren't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Did they have mac and cheese? Yeah. Yeah, I like that. Yeah. Yeah. I also finished, I worked, you know what I did most this weekend? I was just writing and writing and reworking this short story that I'm doing and writing and writing and reworking it. And about a year ago, I told my wife about this idea and
Miles had talked to me about how people that have radio shows have a built-in audience. Talked to me about this a while ago. They're very attractive to publishers. And the idea of a memoir has been something that I've kicked around. But then I kick myself up and I go, well, you're not good enough. Not that you're not good enough. No one will care about your story. And a friend of ours is an editor. a professional editor for like professional publications. And she brought it up, uh, last weekend. And I thought about it and I said, if I ever do this memoir thing, it's going to be very painful because there's so much stuff in my story. There's so much stuff. And so I got to talk to my wife about it. Uh, because you know,
It's, hey, honey, how do you feel about me writing about these things? You know, because there's old me and there's new me. And so I got to find out if I can write about old me and how it's going to affect people. I got to talk to everybody on the show because of people that I've known here on this show. I've known for, in Eddie's case, like about 25 years. And so, yeah, I'm telling you, there's a lot of like, There's a lot that goes into writing a memoir. There's legal issues that you have to get cleared and there's all this stuff. And I'm writing my brains out right now. I'm just writing and writing and writing. And I love it. But the stumbling block that I've come up against is that one of the types that works the best is memoir. And I have been afraid of this idea for about a year. Talking to Rebecca about it. on and off for about a year. And so I don't know. I don't know whether I'm going to go after it or whether I'm not. What I do know is, is that according to publishers, everyone listening right now wants to buy it. Your audience wants to buy it, particularly when the person writing it can be honest about stuff and boy, give me a break with that part of it. That's the only way I can do it, you know? And so,
And Skye was telling me last week or something that her mom has brought that up to her. Oh, gosh. Ever since I started in radio. You need to write your story. You need to take notes. Skye's got it. Well, she does. Skye's got an interesting story because Skye comes to it from a different point of view. She comes to it from a point of view of a person. I mean, look at Skye and who she is. I've changed so much. feminism and conservative. Yeah, it's weird the way I went. Well, I guess conservative is not the right word, but you know what I mean. Yeah, and then the kind of show that she was on. Yeah. We were crazy. Yeah. That's crazy. We were crazy. Quite an adjustment. You know, years and years ago, we were crazy. Yeah. And so anyway, so those are the things happening in my life. Those are the big changes and things going on in my life right now. My dad is in good health, so you guys know. Eddie went to Tahoe over the weekend. Was it snowy like crazy up there? It didn't snow while we were there, but there was a lot of snow up there. Was it just beautiful? Of course. I don't know. I don't leave the casino. Oh, really? Never. You don't look out a window? Oh, yeah. I look out the window. It's gorgeous, but I mean, it looks like I'm looking at a TV. When do you get there? Friday afternoon? Yeah, we got there more like Friday night.
About 6.30, I think. And then you left when? Yesterday. The whole time you're in the casino, right? The only time I walk outdoors is to walk across the street to go to the different casino. Wow. I've been going to Lake Tahoe since before I was born. I was a fetus when I was first going. And I think I've been to the lake one time. Are you serious? Yeah. One time? One time, I think. And I don't remember. It was when I was a kid. Wow. Not by choice. Oh, my gosh. So how did you do? I did pretty good, actually. Broke even for the trip for four days. Didn't really win anything big, but did good. I never played slot machines or video poker or anything like that. It was a busy weekend, so it was very difficult to get on tables. And so when it was too busy, I would walk over to a video poker machine and say, all right, I'll sit down and play. And I actually did pretty good. I won, I think, $1,000 playing video poker. Oh, wow. Yeah.
Holy cow, dude. That was pretty good, yeah. That was my big stuff going on this weekend. But I also saw a man choke in a restaurant and get the Heimlich Maneuver. No way. Never seen that before in my life. It was crazy. What happened? We were enjoying a nice meal, fine dining establishment. All of a sudden, behind me, I hear a commotion and a guy making this weird noise. And he's like, racing to go to the restroom. Right. Because I guess he's embarrassed or something. Uh-huh. And, you know, all the waiters were kind of standing around. They go, is he choking? What's going on? Grab him. Grab him. Oh, my gosh. And I'm like, whoa, what's going on? And I turn around and look, and his face is bright red, and he's making this weird sound. And so they get the Heimlich. It took like four times. Like, and then thing comes flying out, and he's good. Wow. Face turns back to normal, and he. He's obviously embarrassed. Dude, did he go sit back down? He went into the restroom because I think he threw up. Oh, my. Who gave him the Heimlich? One of the waiters. Oh, my God. What a trip, man. That's crazy. That is crazy. It was nuts. I've never seen that before. Did Meg Ryan go, I'll have what he's having? Yeah, pretty much. It made me think to myself.
would I have jumped up and helped that guy? Yeah. You know, and I think I would have. Yeah. Because, you know, I think all of us know how to do the Heimlich. Right. And I would have given it a shot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you see the thing come flying out? Yeah, yeah. What was it? I don't know. It was a kangaroo, which is weird. Went hopping out of the restaurant. Yeah. How bizarre, dude. Yeah, that was pretty nuts. That's an eventful weekend. Well, then yesterday, bad, bad plane ride back. You know, we got to the airport. got on the plane, and then they do their mechanical checks. And I guess the plane had an oil leak, so we sat on the plane for two hours waiting for it. And this was one where it wasn't a... We had a connecting flight in Vegas. So we missed our connecting flight in Vegas, which they told us wasn't going to happen because they said there was 35 of us that were coming from Reno to San Diego. So they said they're going to hold the plane. We get there, they're like, oh no, we didn't hold the plane. So we're like, great. And so we were first on the standby list to the next one out, and we got out. But it was still, you know, I was like 8.45, three hours late, you know, by the time I got home last night. How long did you have to wait? About an hour and a half, something like that. It wasn't that bad waiting in Vegas, but it just sucked. That's kind of brutal. It kind of ruins your good time. And then, like, people, when we were sitting on that plane for two hours, hacking. Yeah. The girl next to me.
Sick. Yeah, everybody is sick everywhere right now. Eddie, do you have measles? Be honest. Yeah. So I've been taking germ preventative stuff all week. Good idea. There's no way I want to get sick. All of us should be. Nervous, man. Everybody in all of San Diego takes stuff. Look out. And finally, I saw No Country for Old Men. Oh, my. Where? I was playing in the hotel. Oh, get out of here. Yeah, so I ordered it. Do you think that you're... Was it a movie that you thought, I wish I'd seen this on the big screen, or it didn't matter? No, it didn't matter. What did you think? There's stuff I really liked about it, and obviously hated the ending. Hated the ending. Yeah. Probably the worst ending in the history of movies. Right. Like, I don't even know why, like, what they were thinking. Like, the last 15 minutes, just... Really disappointing. I don't disagree at all. Yeah, you go through this whole process and then it's like, okay, we're done. What happened? Did you run out of time? Do you think that that movie will win Best Picture? Maybe. This year, it's kind of a toss-up between that one. There Will Be Blood is getting a lot of critics awards, so we'll see. That's cool. But you liked it overall? Yeah. That's cool. I thought it was pretty good. Scott, what about you? What'd you do?
I went to San Francisco, Mike. Oh, yeah. How was it? It was awesome. Cool. Yeah, we had a really good time. Doing touristy stuff? Oh, yeah. That's pretty much all we did. We left on Saturday and came back yesterday and stayed down by the Fisherman's Wharf area. So on Sunday, just all day long, walked, walked, walked, and more walking, and Pier 39, and sea lions. fish and chips for the hub and the whole deal. That's cool. Yeah, it was a lot of fun. Anything eventful happen? Not really. Just my brother-in-law and his new wife came up because they live in San Jose, which is south of San Francisco. They came up and we went out to a really fancy dinner. Took them out to congratulate them on getting married and hung out and really enjoyed our trip on Virgin America, which I'm going to start talking about here on the show. Rad airline. Dude. It looks so rad. Like, I'm not joking you. When we were landing in San Francisco, I wanted the flight to be longer. Seriously. Because I wasn't finished watching my episode of The Office. That's why I wanted to take that airline to, like, Europe or something so you could be on that plane forever. There's so many, like, toys to play with and things, like, so much to watch and, like, cool stuff to do. So, yeah, I'll be talking all about that. But it was just a great little getaway. We had a lot of fun. That's awesome. Shawnee, anything happen interesting to you over the break?
We really just stayed home. We stayed home the whole time and did a lot of housework. The only really weird thing that happened was one of our cats is kind of a special needs cat. And so he's always attacking the other cats like jumping on their backs. So I hear this weird noise last night and I come out and he's got one of the other cats pinned on the ground and his mouth is at their throat. Yeah. Oh, wow. And so I grabbed him by the scruff of the neck, and it took all my power not to just fling him across the room, but I pulled him off the cat, and the other cat went tearing off out of the room. So I ran after her just to check, make sure he didn't break the skin or anything like that. And then my wife was like, one more time, and I'm going to lay hands on that cat. She's had it with him. I always stop my wife from interfering with that. I do. Listen, I got to say to every cat owner that interferes, you know, what place is it of yours? That's between them. I let them figure that stuff out. I know who the king of the jungle is. You know, yeah. I mean, these are not children where you got to stop that stuff. You're not going to teach them. You can teach a child. They are, you know, they're Nate. That's what they do. It's their instinct.
Yeah, we're stepping in. I say to my wife all the time. Come on, babe. Let them do their thing. No, that's mean. And I said, well, okay. But what do you think happens when we're not here? They go at it. But I'll tell you what. They're just waiting for you. Oh, I bet they're fighting right now, Sean. I bet they're killing that other one right now. I'm okay with that. Ashley, how are you feeling? Ashley was sick. How are you feeling? Dude, I'm good today, like, coming into work. Like, this is the first day I felt like I could come in. I would have been out if it had been a day earlier. What did you do over the weekend? Stayed in bed. Just slept? Dude. Rusted? Like, this has been the sickest I feel like I've ever been. Really? Like, this has completely knocked me on my butt. Flu or cold?
flu 100% all the way I feel like all the other times I've ever felt sick was nothing I was being like nothing nothing this took the cake and everyone I'm talking to you is sick so that's what I'm saying like just be careful because if you get this you're gonna stay in there You're going to think that you're going to die. Yeah, spray everything down, will you? I think that you're dying is basically how you feel. I don't want to die. She used your mic today. Oh, that's smart. You did not. Come on. Did you use my microphone? Yeah, I did. I don't think I'm contagious anymore. Spraying it. Yeah, that's smart. Hello? I hope I didn't short it out. No, you're okay. Anyway. Rob is our phone screener. He's also a singer-songwriter who writes parody songs. Rob, did you have a good weekend? Yeah. Cool. My fiance finally let me watch Gone Baby Gone and We Own the Night. Because it's hard for her to sit down and watch movies. It's very ADD, so it takes a lot for her to actually sit down and go through a whole movie. And we got through two this weekend. I know a lot of women that don't like to watch movies. I know a lot of women.
That don't like movies. And the reason they don't like them. Is they don't like sitting still. They don't like watching. It doesn't hold their interest. They get bored with it. So how about you Zeth? Pretty mellow weekend. But I saw one of the funnier things. I've seen in quite some time. On Friday night. I went out and played pool with Rob and his fiance. And we were crossing the street. And this guy just starts looking at Rob's fiance. Like, checking her out, like, hard. Like, he's walking straight, and his head is completely turned as far as he can turn it. Right? But he's still walking straight. He hit a light pole so hard. Like, he hit the side of his face. He just kind of, like, starts to crumble and grabs onto the pole and catches himself. And he's walking like nothing. Rob, were you cool? Were you cool? You didn't, like, freak out? I asked him how it felt. He said, hey, how'd that feel, D-Bag? Did you really? Oh, yeah. He was good. I mean, after that, I was cool, but I was like, do you feel real smart right there? What did he say? Nothing. Yeah, well. Not a thing. He probably knew he was guilty. Yeah. Guilty as charged. You know me. I get a little messy. I know. I know. We know. I'm glad it all turned out good. I'm glad that guy walked into a pole. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank goodness. Thank goodness for him walking into that pole. It's either that or my fist. You know what I mean? Okay. All right. Nice guy right there. Tough guy. Nice guy.
Now, on the show today, well, first of all, your phone calls. If you got anything you want to talk about or anything you want to comment on, you can call us at 570-1053. And when we come back, we'll take calls of what you did over your weekend, questions, comments, anything. Also on the show today, we'll do some Wuss Rock jukebox. So, you guys, it's a game for guys where they call in and they sing Wuss Rock songs. We got to talk about Eddie and B-Rob and the racing challenge coming up in just about a week. About a week and a half we're going to be doing this challenge. And also, the best sandwich in San Diego will be decided upon today. Oh, I can't wait. They're bringing a bunch of different sandwich places. They're bringing in their signature sandwich. We'll do a blind taste test and see who is the best sandwich. Don't forget, third day is going to be in the studio tomorrow. And guess what? We are going to... Put them in the performance studio. Who is Third Day? Third Day is the band that I play that does this. Every Friday, you know how I get my testimony, I play the song. This band is Third Day. Like one of my favorite bands. Ty Anderson, the bass player. He's like my main dude. And so they're coming in tomorrow. They're going to play in our performance studio. And guess what? We are going to allow 10 people and a friend. So a total of 20 people.
sit in on that performance, and we're going to give you breakfast. Wow. How about that? That is awesome. It's tomorrow. Wow. And everybody else will hear the performance live on the air, and this just came together. Sweet. So stoked to get this thing come together the way that it did. And so later on, we're going to be doing that, and if you want to go to, and not only that, we're going to give you tickets to the show. They're playing House of Blues tomorrow night, so you get to come in. See them do a live performance in the performance studio here at Clear Channel one morning. Get breakfast and tickets to see them at House of Blues. It would be awesome. Even my wife is coming in. She wants to see it. And Jake says, I don't know any of their songs, Dad, so I'm good. And so that is all. We're doing all of this on the show today. Crazy emails that we've got to read for you that we're going to do and talk about a ton of stuff happening in the news.
So let's get the show started. Brian Regan in the stand-up spotlight. Like you show stand-up spotlight. 053. Politicians like to use the TV for their negative ads. I love watching them. I love the sinister voiceover guy that they use. He voted to give himself a pay raise. Wouldn't you? Is that the worst thing you have on a guy? Apparently he wanted more money to provide for his family. And they morph him into a devil. An actual negative campaign ad. I'm not making this up. About the other candidate. He voted to allow seven-year-olds to be tasered. It's an actual ad. And they interviewed the guy who had voted for that. He's like, I meant worst case scenario. The kid gets a weapon. We don't want to hurt him. And the worst case, you can taser him and get the weapon away. As if that was that man's platform. I want to taser seven-year-old. Good morning, family. This.

I was thinking about it last night how I'm going to want to put an air conditioning in my place before it gets too hot. I want to get it all said and done. And I'm going to use kudzu.com to do all of that. Because you can go on there and type in air conditioning. And they will... Bring up a bunch of different air conditioning businesses in your area with all the contact information you need, not to mention reviews from different people who have used such businesses and, you know, how they liked it. Missy was even saying how she used Cuzdo.com, and the reviews really made a difference because people saying that they liked it or that they didn't like it and if the place was good or not will really determine whether or not you're going to use them.
anyways and then it makes you choose a better business for yourself so that's what kudzu.com is trying to be is a neighbor for you online it makes it so you don't have to blindly pick a business to you know oh i want to get like landscaping done at my house and just blindly pick a business and you don't know a good landscaper or you want the best price or you want the best uh quality That's what the reviews are there for. And they really encourage you, P1s, to go on to kudzu.com and write reviews. Tell if you like different restaurants or businesses and share your experiences because we are here to help each other. And you know how we always like to use the P1s to come together. And this is a great way to do it on kudzu.com so that you're able to share your experiences, build off them, and get the best. business for you in whatever area you're looking for. In my case, air conditioning or whatever you might be looking for too. And they're even encouraging it so much that if you write 10 reviews, you will receive a $25 gift certificate for restaurant.com and it is so easy to write reviews. It takes like two seconds. But if you even are looking for a handyman, you're looking for a hairdresser, you're new in town and you're looking for a place to get delicious Mexican food in your area and you don't know.

Welcome back. It is 647. Lindsay Lohan has recreated a nude photo spread originally done with Marilyn Monroe.
USD loses a close one to powerhouse Gonzaga 59-55 last night. Yeah, it's a pretty big deal, man. That Lindsay Lohan thing has turned into a pretty big deal, so we'll talk about that coming up in just a little bit. Don't go anywhere. If you go to MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com, if you go there right now and you go to the keyword, you type in the keyword blogs, you can read all of our blogs and you can see what all of us are thinking. We put them on there daily, and a blog is like a diary. It just basically tells you the kinds of stuff that's on our mind. And everybody has some very funny blogs. I love reading Eddie's blog. And you can find out about what's on his mind. What is he thinking about? What has Sky got going on in her head that day? All that stuff. And I just updated mine. And you can see pictures of my son, Jake. Oh, you mean the male model? Right? Holy cow, that kid is cute.
I told Eddie, man, it makes me so happy to hear people say that. Because, you know, when you got your own kid, you feel like you're naturally going to think they're cute. But, oh, man, he's just... Those are some great pictures. He's growing up, Mike. That's right. Looks like a little boy now. You can see pictures of him on the blog if you want to. Or you can see pictures of him in the next JCPenney's catalog. This is a strange story. Why would Matthew McConaughey agree to be... The face of Dolce and Gabbana cologne. The guy doesn't wear cologne. Doesn't even wear deodorant. Oh, yeah. That's a strange deal. That is odd. He doesn't wear deodorant. The whole rap on Matthew McConaughey is that he stinks. Like B.O. Because he doesn't wear anything. So why? How? You know, I guess they're going on the fact. Well, everybody doesn't know. Maybe. Maybe that's what they're thinking. But he talks about it all the time. It's not like it's like a secret. It's true. He should wear Secret. It's strong enough for a man. That would be nice. Sean does. That's right. Sean wears vanilla, right, Sean? No, I don't, Mike, actually. I don't. Why is he saying it like that? Oh, it's vanilla sparkle. Vanilla sparkle? Did I say it wrong? No, still wrong, still wrong. Sean wears women's deodorant. It's called Secret. Maybe you've heard of it. It's the most popular brand of women's deodorant on the market. And I believe Sean wears...
Maybe it isn't vanilla. Sean, do I have the flavor wrong or do you just not want to let everybody know again that you wear a woman's deodorant? No, I have no problem with that, Mike. I have no problem with that whatsoever. It's that I got it wrong. I said the wrong flavor. Yeah, it's wrong. It's wrong. Cherry blossom. No. Jasmine. Lavender. Pink baby powder. Oh, baby powder. Woman's breeze. It's vanilla chai, Mike. Oh, vanilla chai. How did you forget? Vanilla chai. It's so pretty. That's true. It's very light and petite. It smells so fresh. So anyway, that's a big story that's out there today. Another big story that's out there is, have you guys heard about this caught on tape at the children's pool here in San Diego? Oh, yeah. I read about that this morning. I guess some guy got into an argument with some other guy because He was taking his kids to see the otters or the seals or something, right, Skye? Well, the harbor seals are there at Children's Pool in La Jolla, but he claims he was trying to take his kid to see this, like...
sea cave that's at the corner of the beach so you kind of have to walk around the harbor seals and kind of close to the seals to get to that part of the beach and that's when the protesters believed he was getting too close to the seals and a huge clash began now the protesters or the protectors or whatever they're calling themselves okay so there's people out there that are like out there on a like regular basis they go out there for the purpose of sort of being an advocate for the seals well yeah because right now is pupping season so the harbor seals are having their babies right now and so it's a very sensitive time because if the harbor seals get disturbed they can like abandon their pups and their pups can die or if they get scared they can kind of stampede back into the water and run over the pups and kill the pups so it's a very sensitive time right now um so yeah people are out there just keeping an eye out maybe Making sure nobody's going to mess with the SEALs. People have a lot of time on their hands. I'd like to talk to one of those folks. One of those folks that stands out there. 5701053. I promise you I will not. I'll be so fair. I promise you I'll be fair. 5701053. If you are out there as an advocate for SEALs.
You know, listen, I don't necessarily have any problem with it. It's like Eddie said, man, don't you have something better to do with your time? But hey, if that's what you choose to do with your time, you're more than welcome to. It's a good cause. My question is, I don't know if this is next question, if they do this. So I'm asking as a genuine question. And if anybody knows. 570-1053. But I would think, man, wouldn't they put some signs out there letting people know? There are signs out there. I believe there actually used to be ropes out there, but due to the latest court action, I believe they had to take the ropes down. And actually a security guard has been hired by the city to stand out there and keep an eye out. So how did dude get to start walking over past them, through them, near them? Just near them. And I guess, you know, according to what I read, I haven't heard the audio yet, but from what I've read, the security guard didn't get involved, but it was these, like, do-gooder SEAL activists who were out there on their own who felt this guy was getting too close. So, is it maybe a case of dude was well within his right to be where he was, but the protesters felt, well, we don't think that you should be there. Sounds like it. That's kind of what it sounds like, yeah. Okay, so here is...
This was all caught on tape. Here is the audio of the argument between that guy and the people that don't feel that he was protecting these seals. He was too close. Cut 39. You're violating the federal law by getting close to marine mammals. It's against the law if you get close to marine mammals. You're teaching the children bad ways. I mean, they should talk to you instead of coming out and yelling at you across there when there's a sign. Let's just stay clear. Clearing the seals. Nursery. Wow. Listen, I'm going to be honest. I'm all for protecting them. Don't disturb them. Let them have their deal. But I also feel like as long as you're abiding by what professionals have said to do and the signs are there and you're not breaking any rules, we got a free, he won free diver. Rob, are you there? Yeah, hello. He's a free diver.
Explain what a free diver does. Basically, you just dive around for lobster and stuff, just using your breath instead of tanks. Got it. And you see these protesters and deal with them a lot, right? Yeah, these people are freaking nuts. So tell me about them. What are they doing? Well, if they feel that you're too close to the seals, you know, they'll just get right in your face. I find it interesting that we do not have one of those people that does this, that protests, that's willing to call right now. Which I think should tell you something. Well, I don't know if they frequent our show. They're very, very strange people. Okay, hang on a second, Rob. Sky, you don't think they listen? Right. I don't think those people frequent or, you know.
Enjoy what we do here on the Mikey Show. They probably listen to their own music in their car and things like that. Well, they were probably the same people who were very upset when KLSD went off the air and were protesting out here in our parking lot. That's true. And listened to public radio and stuff like that. That's true. What a lot of these people do is they'll actually stay down there all day to harass people, basically. There's actually one gentleman that actually lives down there pretty much in a motorhome. And that's his mission in life is to protect the seals. Yeah, they're really aggressive. They're really, really crazy people. See, the thing is, is that I don't know that you draw anybody to your cause if you're screaming at them. Yeah. No, more than likely you want to punch them out. At least that's my experience. I was never brought to God by the guy standing out in front of the Van Halen concerts with signs saying, you're going to hell. Right. That never worked for me. Never, you know. It's the same type of mentality with these people. I don't know why. It wasn't inviting. Huh. That's odd.
Thank you for the call. That was P1 Robbie's A Free Diver. Yeah, I would love to know about this stuff and who they are, what they do. And Sky's probably right. They ain't listening. That is not a typical Mikey Show listener, probably. So we got a couple of things coming up for you here when we come back. Well, first of all, we're going to do a little Wuss Rock jukebox. So if you're interested, 570-1053. But another thing that I want to play for you that is kind of big in the news right now... Apparently, Mike Aguirre went off on a reporter, and I don't know that he knew he was being recorded. And we have the audio. So when we come back, Wuss Rock Jukebox and Mike Aguirre facing off with a reporter. I sound like a whining little kid. This is the Mikey Show. State market change your life. February 22nd through the 24th in San Diego, California. At the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina Hotel. That's 800-430-7735. So I was talking about this earlier this morning. I went to San Francisco for a little getaway trip over the weekend. But part of the reason I went is because I really wanted to try out Virgin America. If you've never heard of Virgin America, I don't blame you because it's a brand new airline. They just, I mean, like just started flying out of San Diego. And let me tell you.
I don't ever want to fly another airline besides Virgin America because it's like they get it. You know, they offer so many cool things on the flight that I'm like, duh, why weren't people offering this before? Now, just to give you a little heads up, since Virgin America is new right now, they're only flying out of San Diego to San Francisco, New York and L.A. Direct. And then you can fly to Vegas if you want, but you got to go through San Francisco to get there. But in Virgin America, their main cabin seats start at 44 bucks, first class. seats start at $149. Now, I flew in their main cabin, and their main cabin to me is like flying first class on any other airline. Really? Yeah, dude. It's crazy. So, every seat gets this 9-inch integrated touchscreen system. So, it's a touchscreen, and you can order movies. There's MP3s, satellite TV, Google Maps. So basically, you don't have to lug all your stuff with you. No, you don't need to bring anything, dude. Wow, that's cool. I mean, they'll give you headphones. They don't charge you for headphones. If you don't bring your own headphones, they give you headphones. But if you bring your own headphones, you can use them. I watched an episode of The Office, an episode of 30 Rock, an episode of Heroes. Because basically, they have satellite TV, but also they kind of have like an in-demand thing where you can watch TV shows. You can order movies. You can order food and drinks.
from your seat through the touch screen. That's crazy. Dude, and then in the armrest, the armrest flips open and you pull out a remote. And the remote you can use to operate the TV or whatever. But then on the other side of the remote is a keypad and you can play video games. They have video games in there. So like I was thinking how awesome it would be if you have kids traveling with you. There's video games. Of course, there's Nickelodeon and cartoons. And dude, I'm sorry. I'm like never going to fly another way. Like I told you guys earlier when we were talking about it, I was bummed when we landed because I was in the middle of the office episode where Meredith gets hit by the car and cracks her pelvis. And I wanted to. watching it so dude trust me check it out go to their website it's virginamerica.com don't just take a lunch break make a lunch escape to islands for their 6.95 lunch specials just 6.95 for big wave burgers north shore tacos greek salads or soup and salad combinations monday through friday till 4 p.m at islands islands find burgers and drinks
Hey, check it out. It's the Mikey show featuring Mikey. I love Maui Eddie. We don't care. We love it. Boys men rules sky. I'm the most liberal accepting person. Sean. I'm a pile of them in truth. He's big. Very well behaved. Just eats his food. I'm just happy to have food. And Ashley. I will use an obscene amount of toilet paper. The Mikey show is on. It's kind of like a stink lineup. Sure, yes. You know, Rock 105.3. It's the Mikey Show. Welcome back. It's 7.01. The Department of Agriculture announced on Sunday the largest beef recall in U.S. history. Wow. The Patriots are at it again. They offer ex-Dolphins middle linebacker Zach Thomas a contract. Oh, wow. The enemy. Jokers to the right. Yes, I am. I just want to remind you that the band Third Day is going to be in the studio tomorrow. And 10 of you are going to be able to bring a friend. So a total of 20 people are going to be able to come in and see Third Day perform in our performance studio. You're going to get breakfast and tickets to the show tomorrow night at House of Blues. So we'll do that coming up in just a little bit. And we have a few.
And so I want to make sure that we're going to be giving them to some third day fans. So we'll do a thing where maybe I'll ask you a question or something like that a little bit later. So Mike Aguirre, as you know, is our city attorney, which you shouldn't know. Yeah. Yeah. In my opinion, it's not really necessary that you know who the city attorney is. I'm sure that Mike Aguirre would probably argue that and say, oh, no, everyone should know who their city attorney is. I've lived in a lot of different cities. I've never known who the city attorney is. I can always tell you who the mayor is. I think it's important to know who the mayor is. But as far as everyday living and things of this nature, I don't know that it's necessarily something that we need to know. But we know Mike Aguirre's name because he puts it out there, man. Oh, yeah.
This guy holds press conferences and communicates with the mayor through these press conferences and communicates with the San Diego Chargers through these press conferences. And he really likes to get some FaceTime. Well, he was talking to a reporter and he actually, he, I had this story wrong. He did know he was talking to the reporter. The reason that the story is interesting, and I apologize so that Mike Aguirre doesn't sue me for saying he didn't know. I don't want to be sued. So Mike, you. did know that you were talking to this reporter. But I guess the reporter that we're talking about, Aguirre felt like the reporter was trying to ambush him. And so this is what happened. Cut 40. You can see that. Let's just step to the side. I'll ask you quietly, without anybody there, just some limited questions that I need to ask you for my article. Okay, I'll be glad. I'll be glad. But Alex, I think that at some point, you don't have to worry about it. You're like a union.
You don't have to live by any ethical rules of the paper because you're not in any way governed by that. And you've become a part of the campaign. You and your paper have become a part of the campaign. And I think that it's unfortunate. You've damaged the reputation of the paper so dramatically because you've crossed over the line so far. Because you're an advocate. You're not the obvious advocate. And you relied on a lot of stuff that just isn't correct, isn't true. Part of being a reporter is to actually check out the facts, not just to have somebody say something and then... You know, basically, basically repeat that and then make the other person have to prove it's not true. Interesting fellow, Mike Aguirre. Yeah, because Mike Aguirre believes that the Union Tribune is like out to get him and to get him out of office. And who he was speaking to right there was a Union Tribune reporter talking about his ethics. So there it is.
There's a guy on the line right now, and we're going to be doing a Wuss Rock jukebox here in just a second. So as a matter of fact, let's go ahead and line people up. Guys only. 5701053. If you know Wuss Rock songs, call us up and we will get you all dialed in. But first, P1 Dave is on the line. Dave actually worked for the protesters out protesting the SEALs. He actually worked with them for a little while. Do you still do it, Dave? No, I haven't done it for a year. And I only did it for a little while. First off, let you know I wasn't doing it officially. I mean, I wasn't like officially a member of the group. Is there an official group? There's a couple of different groups that are together. I'm just I'm drawing a blank with them. I could call you back later with that. That's all right. That's all right. Well, anyway, you weren't a part of either one of them. So I guess it doesn't really matter. It's a moot point. But you were out there and you were you were protesting, too. Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't call it protesting. Really, what we're doing is they have pupping season, and there's actually, it's been going on for a really long time. There's been a big battle, and I don't know the full details of it, but over that beach, and there's been court trials and decisions going on over it. I mean, it's really... How'd you get into it? I saw this funny...
news story on the news when I was living up in San Jose. By the way, I was a P1 up there too. That's cool, man. And it was of the seals attacking divers because the divers, or it was swimmers, they decided they wanted to take back the beach and so they swam up into the beach and then I think the seals kind of attacked them and I was laughing at what idiots I thought those guys were. So that got you interested in kind of trying to be an advocate for the sea lions. Well, then next what happened was I moved down to La Jolla, and I was living right next to that beach. And then I went over. I was talking with the guys. I found out a little bit more about it, and that's what got me interested in it. Now, would you actually shout at people, stay away? No, no, not at all. When I was doing it, what I would do is stand by the stairs. And it was during the pumping season. Seals get frightened, and if you are making a lot of commotion or you scare them, they can have premature births. So that's what you would tell them as they were going down to walk on the beach. Right, and we would tell them, and I was instructed to say, you're allowed to go down on the beach. We would prefer if you didn't, and these are the reasons why. Who instructed you to say that? The heads of the group. And why did you stop doing this?
I stopped doing it personally because there's two sides of it. So there's these other people that come on a consistent basis almost every day. It's like a whole world. Yeah. I know. Yeah, yeah. I had no idea. They're coming there, and they're doing the opposite. They're trying to scare the seals out, and they go out of their way to get them. Everybody's wacko out there, man. Everybody's crazy. Yeah, and I couldn't. person i just couldn't deal with today there you go all right thanks for the call that is a strange thing man bizarre deal no get them out of here no shave them no get them out of here this is how it works you call us you're a guy you call us and you're familiar with wuss rock songs right So you call us up and we'll play a clip of a Wuss Rock song. And when it stops, you start. You take over singing. Now, if you don't know the words, there's only two rules. If you don't know the rules, make something up and be creative. And the other thing, the other rule that we ask you is please don't say to us, I couldn't hear it. Yeah, worse. Please don't say that. Just call us up and know the rules, man. You just got to sing your heart out.
Be creative, and then Eddie, Sky, and Sean will judge and say, well, I think you sounded effeminate, but you're not quite there. So that's the way the game is played. P1 Price. Hey, how you doing, man? Doing good. How are you guys? I'm good. Have you ever heard Wuss Rock Jukebox? Oh, numerous times. Very well. Very well. Okay, then what I'm going to do is I'm going to play this song for you. When it stops, you start. You ready? I got it. Here we go. When I sat next to you. In the morning, getting my coffee in the newspaper. Then I saw you looking good. I mean, that was so close. I don't know how I'm going to vote. It was not close. Really? It was not. I didn't think it was that close, but hey, to each their own. Huh. I'm shocked you guys are saying that. Well, I guess you swayed me a little bit, you guys. I'm going to have to vote no. Thank you. Sky. You're good, man.
Hang on, my phone just rang. Yo, yo, yo. Yeah, like, I think this dude is confused. Like, I think he, like, went to Hillcrest and saw the sign Lips thinking that hot chicks hang out there. And so he's like, oh, let me go in and check out the hot chicks. And then there were. No, there were chicks. But he had already paid the cover. And so he was like, well, I'm here. Lovely brunch. Yeah, so. Delicious. No, thank you. Sean. Get him, Sean. Uh-oh. Sean's leaning back. I wonder what he's leaning. He's just not... Doesn't look like he's going good. Mike. I don't know what to say. Oh, no. I mean, did he even try? No, he didn't. Did he even try? No, he didn't. Well, I think he tried. No, I don't think he tried at all, Mike. Because if he tried, perhaps he would have stuck with maybe the melody. Maybe... Maybe just repeat the lyrics that he heard. But no, Mike, he didn't do any of that. And Sean might be right. Price, I hate to break it to you, but it's definitely a no. Price is definitely wrong. That's right. The Price is not right. P1 Gravedigger's on the line. That's what you're saying. It's going pretty good. She's on cold meds. She's on cold meds, Eddie. What are you going to do? The girl's hot dog on night call.
Hers was better. Gravedigger, I'm going to play you a clip when the clip stops you to start. You got it? Here we go. Now that is how this game is played. That's what I'm talking about. I feel like Gravedigger came over to my house and we played Tom Brady slash center. Wow! Whoa! I'm the center. I'm the center. Okay. Okay. Thank you, jefe. Okay, I'm good. You don't know how the game is played, so don't act like that. All right. If you want to learn, I'll teach you. I got a visual though. It's cool. It's cool. So I say thumbs up. Sky? Well. What are you doing? He did it perfectly. I'm just saying. What's wrong with you? He did it perfectly. Gravedigger, you got the lyrics. That is great. I did feel the performance was lacking a little. Wow.
I got a little cold this morning. Oh, a little cold. Okay, so, you know, I feel you're dabbling in it. You may not completely be there yet, but, you know, I can't fault you for that, so congratulations. Ah, there you go. Sean, what did you think of Gravedigger? Mike, it's obvious to me, he woke up this morning and he slathered himself in Oda McConaughey, dude. There you go. You are a winner. Yay! Okay, up next is P1 Magnet. Magnet, how are you? I'm doing fantastic. All right, dude, you are the final contestant today on What's Rock Jukebox. Are you ready? Yes. Here we go. Eddie, what did you think? Well, I mean, it's in his lyrics. He made up lyrics, which is fine, but he made up lyrics saying he liked Sky and Ashley.
But we're women. Yeah, they're women. I mean, it should have been me and Sean. Like, it didn't make any sense. It's not straight rocks. No, no, you gotta, you know. No, thumbs down. Sky. Wow. Well, I mean, I'm torn because obviously I'm in his heart. That's kind of nice. You feel good. Yeah, I do. I feel really good. I think you know the score, though. I feel really good. But at the same time, you know, as a judge, I can't let outside influences get to me. So I'm sorry, dude. You're a straight guy. Oh, wow. Sean, what did you think? I hope you get. Oh, here we go. It can't be bad. Oh, no. Spastic colon. Uh-oh. That one's bad. Ringworm. Got it now. Oversized toenails, brittle hair, leaky eardrums, and Mikey memory dysplasia. Thank you very much. They're all really bad, especially the last one. Sorry, dude. Not today. Ain't gonna happen. However, what will happen is... What? After we take a quick time out... First of all, there's a couple big items in the news. Apparently...
Fidel Castro, quit. That's crazy. He's like, I'm done. Are you allowed to do that? I don't know. I guess you can. I guess you can quit. The guy runs Cuba. He goes, all right, I quit. I'm out. I'm over it. I'm over it. I'm over the whole Cuba thing. So he's out. We got to talk about that. But we also got to talk about the controversy about Barack Obama because they're saying that he stole some dude's speech. He's guilty, they're saying, of plagiarism. You know what plagiarism is, Ashley? Yes. Plager, of course. I did it all through SDSU. That's how I graduated. And so when we come back, we're going to play you this clip. It's part of a speech from a Massachusetts governor named Deval Patrick. He gave it in 06. And we're going to put it next to Barack Obama's speech from over the weekend. Oh, no. I love it. We're going to play them side by side and let you decide for yourself next. Mikey Show continues on The Rock.

In the spirit of value and adventure, we at BevMo are excited to offer you our top 10 wines for under $10. Simultaneously, we are also offering our top 10 wines under $20, as well as our top 10 wines under $30. Now, this may be confusing, so listen carefully. Our top 10 wines under $30 do not include our wines under $20 and $10, even though both $10 and $20 are less than $30. So, to be more precise... We at BevMo are offering top 10 wines under $10, top 10 wines under $20, but more than $10, and top 10 wines under $30, but not under $20, and certainly not under $10. So what we really should have called this promotion was BevMo's top 30 great wines under $30, a third of which are under $20, but more than $10, and an equal amount being under $10. We apologize for any confusion, and we sincerely hope this clears things up. Come in today.

And you're dealing with a little bit of drizzle in some parts of the county. So be careful out there, man. Right now, the 805 northbound. That's a tough ride coming up from the South Bay Freeway up to National City. A tougher still here from Home Avenue into North Park. And now you've got the busy traffic out of Kearney Mesa heading up over the 52. West 94 on the King Freeway. That slows in the usual place from Euclid to the 805. And then again now from the 15 off and on all the way into downtown. Westbound 8's getting into it already here this morning through La Mesa. Backing up from Spring Street down towards Lake Murray. Bunches up again towards that 805 here in Mission Valley. You're at a crawl though. Give yourself some extra time out of Escondido this morning. This all started with a bad accident near Via Rancho Parkway. Which has been out of the way for some time. But not before it caught up with the commute and just made that toast. P1 Trivia in just a little while where we will give a couple of listeners a chance to come into the studio. They'll compete against each other. Mikey Show Trivia. And then on Friday, Backstage Pass.
Come to the station, come in, hang out with us in the studio and watch us do the show. Pretty cool. So, yes, Fidel Castro decided that he is resigning. He's been in bad health, I guess, for a while. Yeah, since July of 06, actually, his brother has been the acting president. Really? Yeah. And he's just been chilling out watching, like, Leave it to Beaver DVDs and stuff like that. Yeah. Well, he hasn't appeared. Banachek. He hasn't appeared publicly for the last 19 months. So he's probably pretty darn ill. Neither is Bobby Colonels, but nobody's making any big deal about that. Did he retire? I don't know. Is he the president of something? Yeah, Colonels Motor Company. He's been running that for a while. Drove it right into the ground from what I understand. He's a terrible businessman, that's why.
So what? BK Motors, I think. Yeah, isn't it BK Motors? Yeah, I thought so. And they got, like, their slogan. I bought into it, too. Yeah, I did, too. Oh, really? Too bad. Now what do you do? You just try to dump it as much as you can. Now it's worth nothing. Garbage. Too bad. But did you ever drive one of his vehicles, Bobby Colonel? Yeah, I did, and all four wheels fell off. Oh, that's awesome. Well, Sky... So now who's the same dude that's been running the show? Well, the National Assembly in Cuba is expected to nominate. They have a National Assembly in Cuba? Who knew? I didn't even know that. So they're supposed to nominate his successor, but everybody believes it's going to be Castro's brother, who, like I said, has been running things since July of 06, which is weird because the president made an announcement today after Castro's announcement saying, oh, this is a chance for democracy in Cuba.
The only thing people care about, there's two things people care about. One, are a bunch of Cubans going to start swimming up to the beach in Miami? That's one thing people are wondering. Like, are people going to start floating over on inner tubes like crazy because now Castro's gone? So that's number one. Then the other thing, there's only two things we want to know. We want to know that and what's the deal with cigars? That's what we want to know. Because you can't buy cigars right now from Cuba. They're illegal. They're contraband. But now if there's a new guy, are we going to be able to buy Cohibas freely? Yeah. I think that's all people care about. Yeah. Actually, they just posted on CNN that the U.S. embargo on Cuba will remain in place. Oh. Even if they chill out and say that they're real cool now? Well, that's, you know, the announcement this morning. I guess, you know, only time will tell if things change. But as of now. All right. So that's one deal. The other big thing today is the Obama deal. Yeah. We're going to play these things back to back so you can decide for yourself. But they're saying that Barack Obama plagiarized a speech. And the only reason why we know about this is because Hillary's camp found this out and posted it on YouTube. Wow. Well, what you're going to hear is you're going to hear parts of a speech by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick. Who's a friend of Obama. A good friend. Really? So he gave a speech in 2006.
And that's what we're going to play. And we're also going to play portions of a speech made by Barack from over this weekend. Cut one. Let me tell you about just words. We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men are created equal. Those are just words. Don't tell me words don't matter. I have a dream. Just words. We owe these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. Just words. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. Just words. Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country. Just words. I have a dream. Just words. We have nothing to fear but fear itself. Just words. Well, it does sound like the same speech, doesn't it? Yes. A little bit.
Yeah, and Obama doesn't really deny it. He says that, you know, him and Mr. Patrick are friends and they trade ideas all the time and, you know, they work together. And when he was asked if he should have given credit to Mr. Patrick in the speech, he says, well, yeah, he's sure he probably should have. He doesn't really think the voters really care. And he believes the Clinton camp is like blowing this way out of proportion. I heard that Joe Rogan's really mad too. And he's like on this rampage about it. Really upset at Obama. Wow. Interesting. What's so interesting to me is the content of what they were saying. Because a lot of people are saying that Barack Obama has run a very successful campaign on just words. Right. They've said that. I mean, a lot of people are like, well, what have you done, dude? What have you really done? Like, what are you really even saying, you know, other than a lot of very pretty words that sound inspiring? I got to give it to him, man. The stuff he says sounds so inspiring. It sounds so hopeful. He's a great speaker. He is, man. Like, he's one of the greatest speakers ever. Like, he's just really good.
But that's one of the things that he's really getting a lot of heat for is that it's just a lot of blah, blah, blah. Yeah, the pundits are all saying that because Hillary is kind of down in the dumps, this is kind of a last-ditch effort to be like, come on. Look at this guy. Hey, look at this plagiarizer over here. She's desperate. She's desperate now. And I think that Barack Obama is probably going to be the nominee. So Bill Clinton got into it with a pro-lifer. Really? Mm-hmm. That'll help. He was at a rally in Ohio. And this is, I'm going to tell you right now, this is not good audio quality. But I still want you to, I want to play it for you because he's getting into it. Bill Clinton's getting into it with a heckler. Cut to. Man, he sounds like a hothead like Rob. Yeah, for sure. I like his style. He's really going at it. He's getting feisty these days, man. I like it. He sure is, right? It's like every time, you know, we keep hearing these stories of him yelling at people, you know, in the audience. Well, some Obama supporter, this dude, Robert Holman, he's talking about how he got into a fight with Bill Clinton and that the Secret Service had to pull Clinton off of him. Whoa. Awesome. Cut three.
He got very heated. I think he even hit me in the face with his hand to back me up a little bit, but the Secret Service got him off me real quick. I noticed that. But he did give me a little pop, and that was okay because I understand his tenacity for his wife. Well, chill out, man. I barely touched the guy. He's such a wuss. You ever hear of a bitch slap, boy? Yeah. Give me a break. And he was saying awful things about Hillary at the time. Which I agree with, but... I agree with everything he said. It's just not right. Then he called me Doughboy and I got pissed. And he was wearing a blue dress. I get it. It wasn't funny then. It wasn't funny then, it wasn't funny now. He's like, want a cigar? And I was like, oh, that's so funny. I've never heard that one. First time. Oh, you're the first person to ever make a cigar joke. Never heard it ever, ever, ever. So funny. So that's a big deal. We'll be talking about the Obama stuff. 570-1053. We didn't do open phones. 570-1053. Anything you want to talk about, you're free to call about and talk about anything you want. At the beginning and end of the show, we do an open phone segment where people can call in and talk about whatever they want. We just didn't get to get to it this morning, so we'll allow you to. This feels like Monday.
Have you guys heard about this guy on Big Brother that's under fire for using the word retard in regards to kids with autism? Which is the ugliest, filthiest thing. Dude, it was like a scene from There's Something About Mary. The first thing I thought about. Because Matt Dillon in that movie, that's what his big thing was. He said, I work with retards. And that's what this guy did. He apparently works with kids that are autistic. And he called them retards. No way. And people in the house freaked out. Yeah, and I think his actual job is doing PR for an autism foundation. And here he is on national TV calling him that word. So what's going on now? Well, an organization for disabled children wants him kicked off the show, kicked out of the Big Brother house, and also wants the network to issue an apology for airing the footage because, you know, the network edits the show and chose to air that footage. See, I don't agree with that at all. I'm so, so, so against that.
It's in that guy's First Amendment right to be an idiot. Yeah. I mean, if he loses his job because of it, that's his own fault. You got that right. You got that right. That is it, Eddie. If he loses his job, listen, you said it. You got to stand by it. You have a right to say it. CBS has a right to air it. Is it in good taste or bad taste? Well, that's up to you. Yep. What they aired of him saying is up to you whether or not it's good taste or bad taste. And I think that you'd be pretty – you'd be put out to try to find somebody that would say, oh, I think it's in good taste. Probably everybody agrees it was in poor taste. However, we all have a right to say stupid things. Yeah, and it was crazy because the other house guests who are so not politically correct, even they were like so offended and couldn't believe it and he was trying. to defend using that word. How did he try to defend it? He basically said, oh, well, I work with him, so I have the right to say it. It makes it okay. Oh, wow. P1 Rude Dog, you there? Rude Boy, man. Rude Boy. What's going on, Mikey? What's up, Rude Boy? I'm chilling, man. Just on my way to work. I was kind of curious. I wanted to talk openly about the Obama thing, how you were talking about how...
All these pundits are talking all this smack about how he isn't experienced, but he's just a great orator and this and that. Yeah, I think that. Well, I don't say that it isn't that he's... I haven't said, well, it isn't that he doesn't have experience, although the guy's a junior senator. I mean, he hasn't been doing this very long. Right. He's never really run... He's never run a government on a small level, let alone a big level. Right, but what about JFK? I mean, it's very much the same deal. What did he do? I mean, he was a senator, but what did he accomplish before he became president? There is the big JFK argument right now. It's the same thing. It's the same type of rhetoric. However, let me tell you my thoughts on JFK. First of all, when JFK became president, we were living in a very, very different time. I'm not telling you. that I feel that Obama's lack of experience is any reason that I wouldn't vote for him. I'm not telling you that. I'm just saying that I think that it's unfair for people to make the comment and for Obama to say, you can't say that, that it doesn't hold any water. I believe that you're allowed to say anything you want. My issue with Barack Obama has been the...
exact thing that he was talking about in the speech. He's a great orator, but I don't hear anything of substance. Well, sometimes you don't necessarily need substance. You just need a good idea. You don't have to have what exact plan. All he is is somebody who makes decisions. He's not the guy who makes the plan. He's got people for that. That's what Bush does. You think Bush makes any decisions? Well, before I say anything about Bush, and I think it's unfair to talk about You can't compare them. Just like you can't compare Obama with JFK. I don't think that there's a comparison. You can't compare them. Let's just take Obama on his own deal. With Obama's stuff that he says, it sounds all hopeful and good and all that stuff. Me personally, I look at it and go, wow, that sounds really good. But when you put some of this stuff into effect, I just don't know how we're going to do that. How are we going to pay for a...
National health care system. But that's up to his people. That's up to the other government workers, the guys working at the bank. Yeah, but the point is, what if he can't get it done with his people? Well, it's the same with McCain and the economy, and McCain openly admits it. hey, I'm not good with the economy, but as president, I'm going to surround myself with people who are, and we're going to make it happen. People that will make it work. Right. I agree. Yeah. I agree, and I think that that is a fair, that's fair. Yeah. What I, where I'm having a little. And yeah, big up to my neighbor, Ashley. What up? You got it. Thank you, Rubey. Here's where I'm having the issue. Here's where I'm having the issue. Yeah. You're right, Sky. McCain does say that about the economy. Economy is not an area of his strength. Where I'm at with Obama is, well, what is?
unifying people excuse me and bringing this country back together and in my opinion you know the world view of the u.s is so poor that i think that's huge someone that can bring this country back to the level it used to be and get the respect that we used to have in the relationships with other countries is huge and if he surrounds himself with people who know how to make policy happen and he has great ideas for policy then i'm all for that that's fair I guess I just, I'm not for his policy. Well, exactly, because you're a conservative Republican, and that makes sense. These policies that he has, I'm not going to, I can't say to you, I can't say to you fairly, well, he can't do that. No, I think maybe he can. I think he's pretty good at getting people to shake hands. Definitely. I think he showed as a senator that he's pretty good at getting people to shake hands. I just don't agree with any of that stuff that he wants to do. Yeah, and I don't agree with anything McCain wants to do, and that's why we're voting the way we're voting. I think you agree with some of the stuff that he wants to do. I agree. Give me one, because I haven't really found one that I'm 100% in on. What about his stuff with immigration? Don't you feel that it was kind of a human thing to do to try to provide a form of amnesty to illegal immigrants?
Well, yeah, but Obama wants to do something similar. So if he has that. I have never read that Obama wants to provide any sort of amnesty. He doesn't want to build a huge, you know, he doesn't want to lock up the borders. And you know what I mean? That's what I'm against. You know, he does. Obama wants to put Obama wants to do essentially the same thing that McCain wants to do. Right. They both want to put a big fence up. They both want to have it monitored by cameras. Yeah. They both want to do that. Okay, I guess I misspoke. I guess what I mean is, you know, Obama's more of the package. Yeah, McCain has a little things here and there, but McCain has a lot of things that I, no way. Yeah, that's fair. You know, so that's why we're with the parties we're with, and that's why we're all going to vote the way we're going to vote. Yeah, I don't like a McCain-Obama showdown. I don't like that. Yeah. I hope that Hillary's a nominee. No. Because it's going to be very tough to overcome the speech maker. Yeah. This is going to be very difficult to overcome that. It's not easy. It's not easy. I know it, Hillary. You're finding that out right now. You know, this is very personal for me. Oh, we're sorry. P1AK, what's up? Hello? What's going on, man? How are you guys doing? Good morning. Good morning. This is a little bit off the subject. There is no subject. I said open phones. You can call about anything you want right now. Awesome, man. I just wanted to have you guys' take on Lost, man. I mean, I've been watching this since day one, season one, but it's pretty off.
What do you guys think? What do you guys think? Eddie, Sky, are you totally in on a couple episodes that they've shown? 100%. Oh, yeah. It's awesome. Did you finally watch it? Yes, yes, I did watch it. Yeah, I mean... I'm 100% in, but there's... It's crazy. I have so many questions still from season one. Hey, P1AK, who do you think was in the coffin? Mike. P1AJ? P1 AJ. What is up with Rob? He's writing everybody's name in a trippy way today. P1 AJ? I'm not supposed to say my name because Rob made it really clear, but it is not P1 AJ. It's P1 Naked. It doesn't say AJ. It says AK. Oh, no. It's P1 Naked. P1 Naked. Okay. Naked. Naked. Who do you think is in the coffin? I'm guessing it's from Ben, from Locke, from... That black kid. Come on, pick one. Who do you think it is? What did you not? Huh? Who do you think it is? Pick one. I'm going to say Walt. Walt? Well, the coffin's not that big. I mean, it's not adult size. That's been said before.
So, I mean, yeah. A lot of people are saying that it didn't me both. No, Tattoo, you're not on that island. Yeah, well, people think that maybe they're going to combine the TV shows and the AJ... I would like that. And that AJ Babrams... Yeah, it's actually JJ Abrams. Yeah, but... Tattoo. AJ Babrams is going to combine the two shows. Right. And that me and you both might be unloved. Yeah, it turns out the black smoke is coming from your head. Because you have a giant hole in it. And when you blew your brains out. Remember that one? Yeah, I would rather you not remind me. Yeah, and then you could not be in the coffin because you were in a shoebox. That is true, boss. I buried you in a shoebox. Yeah, boss buried me in a shoebox. But then you came back. I don't know. Yeah, it still had that real thin paper that they put in shoeboxes with the shoes. It was to sop up all your blood. All right. Thank you for the call. This is...
P1 Luds on the line. Hey, Mikey. I just want to know if you've seen this show on the Hitch channel called Cities of the Underworld. No, what is it? It's on TV. It's on all these tunnels that were built in certain areas of the world. And there was one on the other day that you probably really like in Jerusalem. And it had to do with, since you're really in a religion, it had to do with a lot of stuff back in AD with Muslims and Christians. There you go. All right, I'll check it out. I appreciate the call. Open phones means you can call about anything you want. 570-1053 is our phone number. P1 Johnny. Let's see. Wait a minute. We're waiting to get him on hold. P1 Johnny, are you there? Yeah, I'm here, Mikey. Good morning to you. What's going on? I want to ask you a question because I feel pretty strongly about this. What do you guys in the gang think is the most number one important issue concerning the future of humans on the planet today? Terrorism. Wow. Terrorism. Wow. I think terrorism is a threat to the world. Do you think that's number one? Yeah. For me, yeah. How about the rest of the game? Terrorism keeps us safe. Eddie, what do you think? The McRib. The McRib. Eddie goes McRib. Should be back on the menu. Should be back on the menu. Permanently. Permanently. The McRib should be back on the menu. What do you want? Why can't that be my... He's entitled to his... He's entitled. Don't attack Sky. What do you think?
This is a crazy question. Don't say the Bloomin' Onion. No. I am torn between, obviously, terrorism and global warming. I mean, I do believe we've had terrorists for a really long time, and global warming is reaching, Mike, the tipping point. I see. If you will. I think the answer to both those issues is right now, believe it or not, Google has invested over $200 million in a new form of solar. collection for energy. They can now produce... Now it takes... Really? Google has figured out global warming? Wow. No, listen. Listen, I'm all ears. Let's do it for four hours straight. What about the McRib? Excuse me. Excuse me, Johnny. Wait a second. I want to hear what he has to say, too. I want to hear what he has to say, too. But doesn't anybody think it's a little unfair? He just glazed over the McRib. You know, dude. Whatever.
Right now, conventional megawatt, one megawatt of energy is... Little onion. Are you understanding that in any way? Go ahead. See, I'd rather hear about the McRib. Here's how it's done, Mike. Email me. I'm interested. The pork is in the shape of, like, ribs, so the bones are in the shape of the pork. Then you put the pork in the McRib sauce, and it just sits in there until you're ready to order. So it's like it marinates with the sauce. You put it on the special bun, then you put onions and pickle, and then you're ready to go. Yummy. It should be on the menu every day. Wow. Sorry, Johnny. The deal is, Ashley, I didn't understand why he's talking gigawatts. He didn't even give him a chance, bro. All I'm saying is I thought we were jumping into DeLorean all of a sudden trying to get up to 88 miles an hour. Yeah, Johnny, you got to dub it down for us. Hey, dude, they don't care. That would be awesome. Johnny, Johnny. Okay, hang on, hang on. P1 Johnny. Who cares?
Everyone. So are you saying... That'll solve... Johnny. Johnny. Can you just listen, dude? Johnny, please. I'm going to ask you a question, okay? Go ahead. I just want you to answer yes or no, okay? Go ahead. Were you calling because that's what you believe is the number one issue in our world today? I was calling because I wanted to... You can't do it. Yes or no. Johnny, yes or no. Yes or no. That is why. Yes. Your number one issue. is the topic of global warming and how Google can help. Is that correct? No, my number one issue is the fact that we need to change to solar collection for energy. Gotcha. Thank you. Especially Southern California. I like you. Now, wait a minute. You should be on the leading edge. Johnny, I have to take a break. But at some point, I would be willing to hear what you have to say and then determine whether or not I think it's crazy or not. Why would it be crazy? Well, because at first... Hang on. Time out. Can I answer the question? Sky asked me an important question. Johnny, hold up, buddy. Johnny, hang on a second. Sky asked me a very important question. Sky said, why do you think it's crazy? Yeah. And I'll tell you why. Immediately, I thought, wow, the solutions on Google? How did we not know this? That's why. That's why. But I might be wrong. You didn't let it finish. That's why I said... What did I just say? You just said. I just said.
I'll hear him. I'll hear him out, and then I'll decide for myself whether or not I think he's cuckoo right now. What do you want the tears to come out of my eyes? What do you want, the tears to come out of my eyes? I haven't had a chance to hear him. Neither has Ashley, yet she's deemed it perfectly. Stay away from the seals. I mean, crap. I just like to let this guy get a word in edgewise. I heard gigawatt and I was like, I don't know what that means. No one does. This is going to bore you. You understood that. I was speaking the language I understand. Don't go anywhere. You know why? Because when we come back, I really got to hear this. I mean, I really, really want to hear this. When we come back, they're going to talk about, we're going to talk about, you know, Heath Ledger died and he was making a movie while he died. And they have decided what they are going to do since he's dead. And the answer is either going to make you go, okay, that makes me angry because I think it's disrespectful. Or you're going to go, I think that makes 100% sense. So we'll tell you what they're going to do with that movie next. You don't even know what stupid it is. The Mikey Show is on. It's about to get. Then my gambling got out of control. That's right, I'm talking about gambling. Slot machines for me. Video poker, too. For most people, it's just entertainment. Mikey Morning Show continues. Featuring Mikey. If it involves danger, I try to avoid it. Eddie. That's it! I'm a simple man! Respect me. Sean. I invite everyone with just a little bit of enthusiasm. Boston Rob. I hate the Yankees. You know this. And Ashley. Conversation too. Oh my gosh. Save that clip. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. I have a question I've never asked you. Oh no, my. This could be good. I mean, the answer is not bad in any way. The question is not bad in any way. I just don't know what the answer would be. What would it be if you opened a restaurant? We'd serve lots of toast. I wouldn't. I mean, I couldn't. Because you hate food. You despise food. It's not my bag, baby. You hate food. You eat it because you have to. Right? But you despise it. Well, there's certain foods I don't despise, but yeah.
What about a dessert shop? Do you have real strong feelings about dessert? There are feelings about dessert. Do you not like pudding? I do not enjoy hot, soft fruits. So, yeah, no pies, no cobblers served at my dessert shop. So, you would never do like, wait a minute, I thought you did do. What? Bananas Foster. No, my husband makes that. You would not eat Bananas Foster because the bananas are hot. Right. I'm not a huge fan. Also, in my dessert shop... Wait a minute, you glazed over that. Are you actually okay with Bananas Foster? No, it's here. No, let's discuss Bananas Foster. She's a foodacrit, dude. Yeah, I only like super green bananas. And if you're going to make me a Bananas Foster, those bananas... touch the pan for a second like you don't cook them till they're all hot and soft not acceptable so it's basically like a banana split is what it turns out okay um and uh at my dessert shop the only acceptable nuts served on any sort of dessert would be peanuts those would be the only nuts allowed in my shop but you love cashews it's not acceptable on a dessert
Okay. It's the only thing I deserve is peanuts. Yeah, no pecans, no walnuts, no almonds, none of that. What about candied walnuts? Ew. Ew. Disgusting to her. That really offended her. Walnuts are junk, man. Come on, Sky. I don't care what you coat them in. Come on, we got it. We're opening a restaurant tomorrow. No, we're not. We're opening a restaurant tomorrow called Sky's. What kind of food is it? Toast. Toast and rice. The restaurant's called Bland. Bland. Toast and rice. Your wife would eat there every day. Every day. Well, she'd have the toast. Yeah. I'll take the special. Just, can you put the rice on the, I don't even need the rice. That's her big thing. When Rebecca and I go to a restaurant, we order stuff and it like comes with stuff. She goes, do you have to get it with this? And they'll say, no, or no, you can trade it. And she goes, I don't want to trade it for anything. And they look at her confused. And they go, do you mean you don't want us to bring anything at all? And she'll go, mm-hmm. No, we were in a really nice restaurant this weekend, and I pulled that, and they were accommodating. I didn't want the creamed spinach, but I saw that they had carrots on the menu, so I was, like, stoked. Okay, carrots. Well, my steak came on a bed of carrot puree.
I was so, like... See, that's wrong, though. I was upset. Oh, that would make me upset. I'm like, what is this? A bed of steak puree. Carrot. Carrot puree. It was, like, foo-foo, fancy. Yeah, Sean would have left it, but... Yeah, now, do you do the thing, though, Sky, where you say, I don't want anything with it? No. Like, my wife will get a steak. Like Skye, the only thing she'll get is a filet because it doesn't gross her out. My cousin Stacy is very similar. We were eating at a restaurant this weekend. And she's worse than your wife and Skye. Really? She's real weird about food. And she ordered a filet that came with like a red wine sauce on it. So no sauce, no vegetables. All she wanted was the steak and the potatoes. And like that was it. Like nothing else on the plate. That's Rebecca, but she'd ask for no potatoes, please. Crazy. Something about it would gross her out. Yeah. Something about everything, almost everything will gross her out. Sauces. Forget it. Forget it. Gross. Don't know what's in it. Unnecessary. But that's where all the flavor is. You got that right. So good. Yeah. So I just, I order, like I get everything that it comes with, but I order it on the side because my husband is like a human garbage disposal. So whatever I'm not going to have, I just immediately throw on his plate and he's soaked. Nice. Nice.
How do you order your steak? If I'm allowed to order my steak, I order it medium well. But my husband tells me if I order it medium well, the chef will spit on it, come out of the kitchen, and then spit on me. So sometimes he makes me order it medium. Rebecca gets it well done. Wow. Yeah. And she has them butterfly it so that she knows. I wish. And even then what she'll do is she'll eat the very edges of it. And then I give my husband the center. Come on. It's ridiculous. I feel ya. It's ridiculous. P1 Josh is on the line. Josh, are you there? Go ahead. I was calling in about a restaurant suggestion. Go ahead. It would be nothing but carnival food like funnel cakes and corn dogs and all that stuff. I had that idea and I called it... What'd you call it? I called it County Fair and I would spell it F-A-R-E instead of F-A-I-R.
And I think it would be a great place for food courts, county fair, you know, like, you know. I love that idea. And it would be all that stuff. I think it's, because who doesn't like food that you get at the fair? Dude, that's smart. And how did we not think of Sky's restaurant being ham? Ham. Just all ham. Shut up. Why wouldn't you, Sky? And they already have it. I like ham. You could do ham, Sky, with all the things that you like. They serve turkey there, too. You could do ham omelets, so you could do breakfast. You could do ham and eggs. I prefer ham scramble, but okay. Ham scramble. Then lunchtime. You could do a ham sandwich based on the way you want it. No mustard, just bread. But I like mustard without my ham. Sorry, they don't serve mustard at Skye's restaurant. How can you not serve mustard? Excuse me. I don't want my employees to take cancer and then I get sued. How can I not have mustard at this restaurant with ham? It's like peanut butter and jelly. It doesn't make any sense. It's for the diner with discerning taste. Meaning that they have tastes similar to Skye. May I B-Y-O-M? It's up to Skye. It's her restaurant. Well, if you're sitting outside, if you're on the patio, but you cannot bring it inside. Because if you smell it, ugh, right? Then entrees would be glazed, honey-baked type ham. Honey-baked? What about a ham salad?
Skye, what would your sides be? My sides? Mm-hmm. Aching from laughing at the poor people so hard. No, no. What kind of sides would you serve with the ham? Favorite sides of Skye? Do you like scalloped potatoes? I like au gratin potatoes. If there's ham in it. I enjoy corn. I like... Corn on the cob. Not cream corn. Corn on the cob. Too creamy. Yeah, thank you. Ham on the cob. I like corn bread. I'm a fan of corn products. So corn is a big deal. Yes. Not potatoes. You're not the biggest fan. But I don't like corn tortillas. I hate corn tortillas. Whoa. Racist. Not acceptable. What about potato stuff? Baked potato. Mashed. Mashed. I enjoy potatoes pretty much every way except for garlic mashed potatoes. Why do you not? But you like garlic fries. But I have to shake the garlic off. She wants the flavor of it. I enjoy a hint of garlic. She's so strange. Thank you. I know it, man. It's real. Don't try to figure it out. I'm making nuts.
So Heath Ledger, should I tell this Heath Ledger thing when we come back, Eddie, or should I do it now? You tell me. Yeah, we're supposed to take a break. All right, let's take a quick timeout. When I come back, I told you that Heath Ledger, when he died, he was working on a movie. And so they figured out what they're going to do with that role. And the answer to what they're going to do with the role is either going to make you upset or you're going to think it's appropriate. You decide when we come back. You guys are awesome. Appreciate it, bro. Thank you. I'm a P1 because of my girlfriend, Lynn, who turned me on the station. Now we got you guys on every morning and stuff like that. Home of the P1s and stuff like that. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. The ride's been pretty tough out here this morning. We do have still heavy traffic down the 15 southbound. Still backed up from El Norte Parkway. Off and on to Escondida to Via Rancho. More stuff from Carmel Mountain Ranch down to Poway. The coaster ride southbound 5. A struggle from La Costa all the way to Salada Beach. Out of the east county, the westbound 8's got plenty of traffic to deal with here this morning. But it's now shifting. Slow now from pretty much the 15 freeways. You make that northbound transition in past the queue into Mission Center Road now. 805 northbound out of the South Bay. That's lightening up a little bit through National City. Still bunching up a bit through North Park. Crawling, though, out of Kearney Mesa. Approaching the 163. And that's a very tough ride after it's Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. As a part of my personality, I'm both focused and all over the place. K-I-O-Z. San Diego's rock. You're listening to the Mikey Morning Show with Mikey. I'm such a foodie and a food snob, but I love that Olive Garden. Eddie. We think cards are funny, so the kids should die. I like to take my time and do things right. You sure do. And Ashley. Sometimes things make sense in my head, but not to anybody else. Rock 105.3. You guys, and I love doing this show. What do you think about that? Thank you. It is 8-18. The police are investigating a car that was dropped through the roof of an industrial park in Vista on Sunday. Yankees pitcher Andy Pettit held a press conference yesterday to apologize for using HGH. Eddie, why do you think he did that? Did he have to do that? Was it just going to get bad and he figured I better say something? Yes. What happened? Very much so. With all the congressional hearings and all that stuff, he was one of the ones that clearly admitted to using the stuff. Right. And so he's being labeled a cheater and all this different stuff. So yeah, he needed to come out and say something.
So we have a couple of clips from this press conference. You want to hear them real quick? Yeah, yeah, yeah. This was him basically apologizing for using the HGH cut eight. I'm happy to be back here and, again, looking forward to giving the Yankees every ounce of energy I have this season. I want to thank the New York Yankees for giving me a few extra days with my family. I think they realize this has taken a toll on my family, and other than my relationship with God, my family is the number one priority in my life. Okay, so Eddie. I want to apologize to the New York Yankees. Sorry, Andy. To the Houston Astros organizations and to their fans and to all my teammates. There you go. Eddie, now do you. Oh, sorry. Sorry, Andy. Eddie, now do you. For the embarrassment. Andy, I'm sorry, Andy. I also want to tell. Great. Anyone that is an Andy Pettit fan. Go ahead. I'm sorry. All right, Eddie. Especially any kid. I'm sorry, Andy. I interrupted. Since graduating from high school, I've spent my life working with young kids at my church and in my community. Sorry. I never want a young person to do what I did. Perfect. Now, Eddie, do you want to talk? I'm sorry. I didn't know that. I've had problems the entire time. Got it. Again, like I said before, I never took this to get an edge on anyone. I did this to try to get off the DL and to do my job.
And again, for that, I am sorry for the mistakes I've made. Okay, now it's good. Now you can go. I just wasn't sure. I didn't know. So, Eddie, what were your thoughts of Andy Pettit before? And have they changed? Or what do you think? You know, man, it's really tough because the more I think about it and the more you hear these days, I think everybody's basically trying to get an edge on people. And I think there's a lot more people than we even have heard about that have used. Some sort of performance enhancing. It's the era that we're in. And so I can't point the finger at anybody because I think they all were doing it. And so, you know, it is what it is. And it's tough to be disappointed in anybody these days. Well, I mean, I do it. I'm taking bald enhancing drugs. Sky is on news enhancing drugs. Yeah, definitely. It's not working. No, it's not. Everybody's doing their thing, you know. Rob is on.
Parody writing enhancing drugs. Hothead drugs. It's a side effect of the parody enhancing drugs. That could be the deal. P124 is on the line. I won P124. Yeah, I'm calling. Do you think they should take Pettit's Super Bowl rings away for using agency? Yes. Take those Super Bowl rings. Get them out of there. And all the ones he won with the Patriots. And his gold medals. Yes. Oh, yeah. What about those golf championships? And the Stanley Cup. What about his World Series rings, Eddie? What about those? No. He does not think. Eddie says no. No. Let him keep them. They are his. That's all. Okay, listen. Here's what we're going to do. Oh, no. I want to tell you about this Heath Ledger thing. Yes. Because I've been talking about it for a while, but I've got to get into it, okay? Come on, Mike. So Heath Ledger is doing a movie with, I think, Terry Gilliam. Yes. Okay, Terry Gilliam's a strange person. Director. He's a strange person. He is a British guy. He's got that British sense of humor. He was once a member of the Monty Python group. And so he's got a strange sense of humor, but he makes some pretty crazy, whacked out movies. In fact, I think Sean...
would love Terry Gilliam movies. Have you ever seen any of them? Oh, he's one of my favorite directors. I would think he would. Time Bandits. Yep. 12 Monkeys. Brazil. Oh, he did 12 Monkeys? Yes, he did. Oh, cool movie. Very strange guy. Now, he was doing this movie with Heath Ledger when Heath Ledger died. So when I heard that he died, I thought, what are they going to do with that movie? So we're not talking about Batman, right? No. No. He was done with that, right? Yeah, yeah. This is the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. The imaginary Dr. Farnassus. So halfway through filming, he dies. So I thought, what will they do? Will they scrap production or will they go on? What are they going to do, Skye? Well, according to Jude Law's spokesperson who told the BBC this... They claim that Jude Law, Johnny Depp, and Colin Farrell have all been tapped to finish the role. They say each will play a different version of Heath Ledger's character. So it'll be Heath Ledger, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, and Colin Farrell all playing the same character, but I guess at different points of that character's life, or I don't know exactly how they're going to do it. But that's kind of trippy, man. I think that...
I don't think there's anything insensitive about that. I think it's a creative way to make that project work. And I don't feel like it's disrespectful. In fact, if I were his family, if I were a member of Heath Ledger's family, I would say, I think that's great. I appreciate you doing it that way. I appreciate you not hiring a actor to continue doing it or to try to make it work with what you had because I don't think he would have liked that. I don't think anybody would want their half work to represent a whole thing. So, I don't know. I was like, that sounds all right to me. What do you think, Skye? Yeah, like, I don't know why I think this, but to me, I think it's cool because these are like very big name actors. Like, to me, it kind of shows a level of respect. for the actor Heath Ledger was by these big names being on the same level to finish this film. So I don't know. Maybe I'd feel different if it was like no names. I'd be like, gosh, that's lame. But yeah, I'm okay with it. Yeah. You guys want to take a stab at the one artist, the one artist that has been tapped to be on the upcoming Guitar Heroes game because Guitar Hero uses all these different acts, all these different bands. Okay.
For the first time ever, Guitar Hero is going to use one band for the next version of the game. Really? Yes. I'm going with... It is not Third Day. I know a lot of people instantly... I wasn't going to say that. It is not Third Day. I'm going to go with War. Sky, is it War? No, it's not. It is not. Go War. It was not. No. It was not War. Uh-uh. Is it... Guns and Roses. KC and the Sunshine Band. Good guess, though, but no. Is it... Black Crows. No. Black Crows. Striper. Led Zeppelin. Winger. Slaughter. Crankbench. Buck Owens. Don't say Daughtry. Don't. Don't say Daughtry. You will get a slap. I'll hate you. Daughtry? Don't say... Slap. Daughtry. Your face. Uh. Is it Aerosmith? Yes, Eddie. Aerosmith. Oh, that's so nice. Yeah, they say guitar hero Aerosmith will feature about 30 Aerosmith songs. Yeah, this will be the main one. So you play your guitar to this and don't want to miss a thing. It'll be like the most amazing. Get my animal crackers ready. Yeah, you can do it across the belly. I refused to watch that movie because it was a Bruckheimer, so I've never seen it. Now, who plays this part in the game?
It's so nice, isn't it? It's so sweet. So, Lindsay Lohan has posed nude. No! New York Magazine. What? So you don't see nothing. Well, you see full breasts. You do see full breasts. You see full breasts. Because she's recreating the same nude photographs that Marilyn Monroe took. Now, don't get them confused. Don't get them confused. There are two different Marilyn Monroe famous nudes. Uh-huh. One of them is from Playboy and was taken by, I believe, a different photographer. And then the ones that we're talking about were taken by a guy named Bert something. Bacharach. Bert Bacharach. Yeah. Bert Stern. Bert Stern. And they were originally in Vogue. Howard's father. Na-na nude. Howard's father. They're na-na nudes.
So, yeah, she recreates it. And I saw on MSNBC they were showing, they were blocking out the, obviously the ones that showed too much. But I felt they were creepy. Because they were showing them side by side with the originals. And whereas Marilyn Monroe's expression looked very natural in the photographs. Lindsay Lohan trying to recreate that expression looks awkward. Not even close. It looks odd. It's uncomfortable to look at. It's strange. Very uncomfortable. Are you guys looking at the pictures? Yeah. Really bad. Yeah, and it's weird because, I mean, you know, she's fully nude, and I guess her little sister was at the photo shoot, and she said she, you know, she was comfortable with being naked in the photos. Her little sister was there? Yeah.
That's what I read while she was doing the shoot. And it's interesting because Lindsay's, you know, 21 years old. And Marilyn Monroe was 36 when she did this shoot. And Marilyn looks younger than Lindsay does in these photos. But they did the photo shoot at the same place, the Hotel Bel Air. It was the same photographer, like you said. And it'll be a whole spread in New York Magazine. Well, they say that the reason that they were doing it, that she did it at all. is because apparently she's a big fan of Marilyn Monroe. Yeah. And all over her house, she's got all this Marilyn Monroe stuff. And so, you know, she's really into Marilyn Monroe. And so, anyway. Hot. A lot of balls to do that. Yeah. To try to do that because, oof. You're very famous photographs. And I don't think she's pulling it off. Not at all. It takes brass balls. It really does. Her comment was something in effect of, well, you know, I've always been in the public eye because the public has always like, you know, got me. This is a way of me sort of gaining control because I can openly give this to the public and they're not taking it from me. I'm giving it. It's very freeing. What if we don't want it? Yeah, there is no no thank you. You got to take it. Wow. It's garbage. Let's see.
The cops are looking for a guy who was trying to break into a car in Carmel Valley. He was walking his dog on this trail, and he comes back. He sees this dude trying to break into his car, and the guy sees him coming, jumps into his own car, and in the process of trying to get away, runs the dude's dog over. No! And kills it. No! Terrible story. Ashley's more upset about that. She looks like she's going to cry. She does. She's more upset than if a human being had been hit. That's really sad. Definitely no doubt. It's more upsetting to her. So Sky... What is the deal? Do they know where this person is? No, well, they say at this hiking trail in Carmel Valley that there's kind of been like a surge of break-ins and vandalism. So they put up signs warning people, hey, don't leave valuables in the car, whatever. And like you said, this guy came back from his walk and was coming out to the parking lot with his dogs and saw somebody breaking into the car, kind of ran towards his car. The dude jumps to take off. And according to some witnesses, they say it seems like the robber...
intentionally ran over the dude's dog when he was taking off. That sucks. And the dog died. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Yeah, it's just very, very sad. So police are looking for a suspect. They say he's a man in his late 30s. That's the only description I've read. The following story only pertains to human beings that are listening right now that enjoy beef. The rest of you, you're fine. Okay. Oh no. I just wanted to let everyone know that does like beef and eats beef. I just want to let you know that the largest recall in U.S. history has taken place. The Mikey Show continues. Back to the show. It is 8.39. Sorry to tell you ladies, Justin Timberlake was recently seen shopping for diamond rings. Eric Gagne also apologized yesterday for using HGH, but answered no questions and never really addressed anything specific. Sky, I suspected that about Justin Timberlake. Yeah, you think Jessica Biel's the one? That's not why I suspected it. You follow my logic here. You tell me if you agree. Apparently, he had to go do some make goods here about two, three weeks ago. Oh, that's right. I do remember reading that. Because word was out that maybe there was some infidelity going on. So he was over there and he was apologizing to her and saying, I love you, I love you, I love you. And so I thought, I wonder if he's going to pop the question now.
Because he wants to keep her and he doesn't, you know what I mean? He's like, listen, I love you so much. Yeah, for her. And I am so sorry that this happened, that I am willing to tell you right now that I want to be with you, Jessica Biel, star of Stage and Screen, for the rest of my natural life. Hey, who knows? I mean, maybe he wasn't doing anything wrong in the first place. Maybe. And he just simply loves Jessica. Oh, no. Ashley's got to look like, yeah, right. Oh, you mean the theory? Or that he wasn't? The theory. The theory. That's what I'm saying. Maybe he wasn't at all. Could be that he's simply in love. Is that what you think, Ash? Thank you for saying that. Oh, I thought you were saying... Okay, I got confused by the theory. What did you think the theory was? I thought you were saying that you thought they were going to get proposed and get married. Uh, well...
Well, they did get proposed. Well, that's the original story, that he was shopping for wedding rings. Oh, okay. And then he's speculating, well, why? What motivated him now to shop for? It's not my fault. I'm sick, Mike. It's not easy. It's not easy. I don't know what they're putting in that stuff now. I think it's the hallucinogenic. Okay, so we're going to be doing the... Let's give away a couple of passes for the third day. Let's do this. Let's give a couple of passes away for people to come in tomorrow and be a part of the third day. Watch them live. Eddie is serious about it. Anyway, nothing to see here. What happened?
That was awesome. My voice is so low with this cold. Wow. So awesome. Okay. Here is what we're going to do. Here is what we're going to do. I need you to call right now. And what we're going to do is... Oh, did Rob just leave? Where did he go? Is he doing stuff with us? Yeah, he's handling all that stuff. Okay. What we're going to do is... Do you read the screen? Do you read the screen? You see what I'm writing there? Yeah. Okay. See what I'm putting down there, Zed? So what we're going to do is just call me right now. Other than the song Tunnel, name me a third day song. This is any song. Name me a song. That's easy. Other than the band Tunnel. Do you really know, Ash, for real? Well, yeah, because you've had me have some music. Okay. That's right. Right, right. That's true. So, you know, I'm not looking for super fans here. I'm just looking for people that might know a song.
No, a thing or two about a thing or two. So 5701053. Now, this is what you're going to win, so you've got to be able to do this. You're going to be coming into the studio tomorrow, into our performance studio. We're going to give you breakfast. You're going to see Third Day perform live acoustically. And then we're going to give you tickets to the show tomorrow at House of Blues. So 5701053. And it's as easy as that. All you got to do is name a song other than Tunnel. P1 Mike. Hey, Mikey. Mikey, or Mike, can you name a song other than Tunnel? Yeah, Consuming Fire. Great song. What album? Their first album. Hang on. Back in 96. You even got me. Wow. I don't even know that. P1 Laughter and Recovery. Yes, P1 Laughter and Recovery. Cry Out to Jesus. There you go. Hang on. Let's see. P1 Juice. Yeah, they have an acapella song, and it's just, dang it. Thank you. What can I do? You better be there. Dog Day Afternoon, Mike. That is not one. Oh, no, that's Lemon Drops and Sandals. That's Lemon Drops and Sandals. It does that one. Your imaginary band. P1 Repo, are you there? No one's ever said that out loud. P1 Repo. Yo, what up, Mikey? You know what third day song are than Tunnel?
No, but I just want to give... Come on. He said he did. Focus, people. Focus. Yeah, he did. Andy? Yeah. You got a song other than Tunnel? Yeah, Hands. Ham is not one, but that... Hands. Oh, Hands. Oh. Hands. H-A-N-D-S? Correct. I gotcha. Do you know what album it's on? No. All right. Hang on the line. Okay, we're going to be giving away. How many we give away there? I don't know. Four? How many we give away? We gave away six there? No. No way. I only talked to like three people. We only have five lines. I know. You gave away three and then two per person, right? Them and a guest. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, yeah. How many pairs? It's so strange. Zed is cute. I know it. Zed is having to do it because Rob is working real hard. He's just overwhelmed. He's a new guy. He's a little guy. So we gave away three. Yeah. He's crying. Okay, okay. Ew, look at it. No, it's okay. No, you're fine.
Don't do it. Talk him down. We'll give away some more in just a bit. But we're about to do the best sandwich in San Diego. Now, Rob is organizing this. He's running around furiously. He's running around furiously. And so, we're going to have these people come in. And we're going to rate the sandwiches that they bring in on a scale of 1 to 10. Me, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, Zeth, and Boston Rob. Everybody's going to get to try them. You're going to rate the sandwich on a scale of 1 to 10. And all you're going to take into consideration is, what do I think? What do I give the sandwich on a scale of 1 to 10? It's that easy. So, now, it's going to take a while to prepare. So, I think what I want to do, I know it's early. Can I take a break? Sure. Okay. I'm going to take a break. When we come back, we're going to give it to you.
And call me right now, 570-1053, if you know a Third Day song. And we'll set you up tomorrow. You'll be able to come into the studio and hang out with Third Day. This is the Mikey Show. Yeah, I love the Mikey Show. You know what? You guys are awesome. I do, too. Thank you, brother. Economic news goes up and down, but the news at General Dynamics NASCO is all good. You know, we weren't taking chains, you know, even though chain sandwiches like Togo's and Subway, those are great sandwiches. But this is all about, you know, locally special here for San Diego stuff. Exactly. Now, what we are going to do is Sean is not here. Sorry, Sean. You're missing out, dude. Sean lives in San Francisco. We look at him on a camera. And so he cannot try these sandwiches. Five different companies. And the companies that are going to be participating today are.
Eat Your Heart Out Deli. Oh, they've been in here before. Oh, wait, wait, wait. I don't want to see what they've made because I don't want to know who made what, Rob. You've got on the list what they made, right? I don't want to know what they made because it has to be a secret of what we're trying and who's is whose. Why does it have to be a secret? Well, I don't want us to know or show any bias to what kind of... Because I know Cheers is participating, right? No. Oh, I thought they were going to. Just be fair. Then forget it. I can tell you. Come on. Divine Pastas. Okay, well, let's go back then. Eat Your Heart Out provided a number three club. Charlotte came in and brought that. Divine Pasta brought in something called their Balities. Is that how you say it? No, it's Divine Pastabilities. Divine Pastabilities is the name of the place. Pastabilities, but like the pasta. Damien brought something called the Torpasta. Is that the name of your sandwich? Okay, and we'll learn about him as we go along. Next, Park Place Liquor decided that they were going to get into the act, and Octavio brought in the El Diablo sandwich. Oh, this is the one he called about. I remember this one. That's right. Octavio, where are you? He's right here. Coronado, right? Octavio, he needs to come into the studio. Everybody in the studio. I think he said Coronado. Let's ask him. I think you're right, though. All right, he's coming in right now. I think you're right.
And Octavio was very, very excited about being in the competition. Passionate. Aw. Octavio, Octavio, where are you guys located? Right in the mic. Real close. I'm actually a big fan of Park Place Slicker. I live in San Diego, born and raised. Okay, so you're not from there. You just brought it. Yeah. I got you. That's a huge fan. That's fine. You actually are from there. That is so cute. What's your name? No. Niall, and you brought your signature sandwich, which was the El Diablo, right? Is that it? Yes. Okay, gotcha. Next up, Santee Deli Company, who is Sheila. Where is Sheila? Hi, Sheila. Sheila brought in her house club. And last but not least, Dirty Del's. And Brian, where are you? There's Brian. And he brought in the Del Scorcho sandwich. Oh, what the heck? That's intense. I don't know what that is. It sounds good, though. Here's how this is going to work. We are going to taste the sandwiches. We're going to rate them on a scale of 1 to 10. Here are the judges. Me, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, Boston Rob, and Zeth. 1 to 10. It's very easy. Just what do you think of the flavor? How would you rate it on a scale of 1 to 10? And you can say whatever you want in terms of how you got there. Sky wanted to know before we began this competition. Oh, I'm already... What do I do if I don't even want to taste it? Oh, come on. And I said, Sky, that's fine. Are you guys looking at the...
This is the first sandwich in front of us right now. Has anyone looked at it yet? Oh, that looks great. I can't wait to try that one. It looks delicious. It looks great to me. With the spicy mustard overflowing and the big juicy slices of tomato on it. Okay, now wait a minute. Now, whose sandwich is this? We're going in order. Eat your heart out, Deli. Charlotte, walk up to the microphone. Let me talk to you, okay? Describe this sandwich that Sky will not eat, but we can't wait to dive into. It's one of our best sellers. It's the number three club. It has pastrami and corned beef with melted Swiss cheese. And we slice all our meats first thing in the morning. Mm-hmm. So that's important to you? Now, I want you to tell me, can you not tell me everything? Is there like certain ingredients in here you don't want to say? No, no, no. What's in there? I want you to describe, when I come to you guys, tell me everything that's in your sandwich because the audience can kind of see what we're seeing. Go ahead. Well, it starts out with fresh bread baked in the morning. The bread looks great. And it's got deli mustard. Mmm, Skye, delicious. Deli mustard. Go ahead. The first layer is very...
Thinly sliced pastrami with lettuce, tomato, and it's got melted Swiss cheese. Then the next layer is corned beef, also with melted Swiss cheese and lettuce and tomato. Sean, if you were here, this sandwich would look so good to you. It looks delicious. This sandwich really looks delicious. It looks delicious. All right, let's take a bite. Okay. Let's see what I can work with here. Very complex. I love it. There's so many flavors going on there. Let me tell you something. Just the softest bread. Soft bread. You can tell that meat is so fresh and delicious. It's so soft and it's so fresh. It's so perfect. I'm just eating little pieces of meat. And the first, you got to talk right into the microphone. That's important. And there's no fat running through that meat. Thank you. That's very important. Oh my gosh, that's delicious. They use shredded lettuce. I got to tell you, one of the things that hit me first was that awesome taste of that deli mustard. I love that taste. I got to give a score, but we're not going to tell anybody until the very end. Okay. Guys, have you rated this sandwich? Yes. I don't even want to know what Sky put.
Well, how can she fairly judge this? She can't. I took a bite of each piece of meat, and then I also took a bite of the bread. Well, but these are the components that go into it. You're a joker. I'm not a joker. Nice girl. Thank you, Skye, for trying the meat. There you go. Yeah, it was good. Next up is Divine Possibilities. And guys, you can chime in. Like, you know, Eddie, Skye, everybody, you know, in this case. Don't make me have to go to you. You can tell me exactly what you think. Skye is rinsing with water. She wants to make sure that her next taste and her palate is clean. Skye has got to be afraid of this next one. Dude, this looks crazy. It is crazy. Let me describe. Oh my goodness. Okay, let's talk to Damien from Divine Pastabilities. This is called the Tor Pasta, and let me describe it. It looks like a torpedo sandwich with sesame seeds on the top, packed.
With spaghetti and meatballs. Actual pasta, spaghetti and meatballs inside of a sandwich. Everybody that's listened to me for a while knows that's my thing. Putting strange, like I'll put spaghetti and meatballs in a burrito and eat it in a tortilla. And I think it's great. So talk to me here, Damien. Tell me about this sandwich. This is your signature sandwich, right? Yeah, it is. Basically, it's a hollowed out garlic bread. so that it's like a pouch, and then I put any different pasta inside. Dude, there's no cut in the bread. I just noticed the bread is not cut in half. They took a long torpedo of bread, cut it in half, hollowed out the middle, and stuffed it full of spaghetti and meatballs. Incredible. It's a pouch. Never heard of that before. Say that again. I've been making these since I was nine. Is that right? Nine. So is there anything hiding in here? Like, are we just talking spaghetti, meatballs? It's a deli, mustard, and tomato. Let's not mess around. There's an iguana halfway through it.
Spaghetti, marinara, and meatballs. I see some Parmesan. You're already lying. You're a liar. You're a liar face. All right, let's taste this puppy. He definitely needs some napkins with this. Maybe a bib. I like it a lot. Now, let me tell you. I'm going to tell you. This, this is something that is, first of all, it's delicious. There's no doubt about it. It's delicious. I'm going to tell you from my perspective, it would be one that I would, it's not an everyday sandwich for me personally because I would go, I'm in the mood for it. Yeah. But let me tell you something. I can tell you from one bite of it, I would be in the mood for this and I would be like, I have to have that today. Yeah, I have to score a couple points for creativity. Like this is really creative. Sounds great.
It is really good. Really good. It's amazing to look at, too, what you've actually done. It's so different. I've never seen anything like it. The actual spaghetti and meatballs are extraordinarily flavorful and delicious. It would be a great spaghetti and meatballs on its own, right? It's the thing with me. It doesn't taste like a sandwich to me. Yeah. See, I'm weird. It tastes like spaghetti and meatballs. I'm weird about combining my foods. If, like, I had my, you know, choice here, I would dump all the insides out and I would take a fork and I would eat it all separately. Crazy. But the tastes are great. Well, and the thing is, like, it's so brilliant because you can have spaghetti and meatballs, like, on the go. Well, that's what it is. That, to me, is, like, so brilliant. It is. It's like an edible thermos. It is. It's like an edible thermos. It is. Well, I mean, because when you eat spaghetti meatballs, you want to have garlic bread with it. You're having garlic bread, spaghetti meatballs all in one. It's brilliant. It's brilliant. Let's see. Let me give that one a score. Okay, I don't know what's going on here. All right, here comes the next sandwich. I'm excited for this. What is this? It is interesting looking. It is interesting looking. We do need an explanation from, let's talk to Octavio.
And Octavio was the fan. He is super fan. Passionate. He is so passionate about this El Diablo sandwich. He doesn't even work at Park Place Liquor. He's just a customer. Now, he did bring a representative from Park Place Liquor. He brought the owner. But Octavio, how long have you been getting this sandwich, Octavio? For a while. The only explanation I can give you about the sandwich is basically when you take a bite out of it. Your taste buds are fighting each other. If you start chewing on your left side, your right side gets so upset. It's not fair. It's an explosion. It's like pop rocks in your mouth, but in a sandwich way. Let's talk to the owner of Park Place Liquor. Describe the El Diablo sandwich to our listeners. What do we got? What is it? We got two breasts of chicken. With bacon, lettuce, and a spicy homemade chipotle sauce. That's what I'm looking for. Well, there's cheese on here. What kind of cheese? Also, mixed cheese. Mixed cheese. Cheddar and pepper. Okay, cheddar and pepper. God is freaking out. You're the only one that has the problem. Let me take a bite. Let's all take a bite. Take a bite, guys. Explosion, guys. Mama likey. And it's served warm. Yeah. Oh. Holy.
Wow. I told you guys. If you guys aren't talking and just chewing, it's good. Fighting. They're fighting. Fighting. Hey, right side. Yeah. Wow. Woo. I better take another bite just to be sure. Yeah. That is so good. I'm going for that too. Wow. All right. Okay. I'm ready to discuss. This is a tough contest. Okay. I'm ready to discuss. Oh, the spiciness is fantastic. Zev, do not remove that from the room. They're all right here. I'm, like, surrounded by sandwiches right now. That's real good. Yeah. Okay, now, it's warm. It's warm because, you know, and what is it that's warm? Do you do it in an oven or something? When you get it at the store, how do you do it? Yeah, we do it all together. We melt the cheese, heat the meat, and toast the bread all together. Do you do it, like, in a toaster oven, or how do you do it? Toaster oven. Toaster oven. Okay. Wow. The predominant flavor was bacon.
I'm going to tell you that. I disagree. The predominant flavor for me was bacon. It's the biggest pop that I got. Eddie, what did you get? Immediately the chipotle sauce is the key to the sandwich and is a perfect mix of spice. I don't think in my bite because I kept looking at it and I was like. You didn't get any chipotle. I don't think I got enough. My mouth still has Chipotle in it. Go again. Look for that Chipotle thing. I'm going to try to find it because I didn't. I'm looking at the spot right a bit. I didn't get it. That's super spicy. Yeah, they need to bottle that stuff. Don't touch my sandwich. Yeah. We leave our sandwiches alone. I'm going to eat the rest of them. First thing I got there was a Chipotle. Yeah, you got it? There you go. You got that? Sandwich is like a chorus. And you're either going to hear... The soprano first. You're going to hear the tenor first. You're going to hear whatever. One instrument you're going to hear. The loudest. And that one for me, you're right. That one was Chipotle. That's a good sandwich. It's hot. Bacon, Chipotle, the melted cheese. Now, I have a complaint. Oh, no. I have a complaint. What's the complaint? You're a complainer. It's a matter of opinion. To me, my complaint will be the positive of someone else.
in my lettuce you know how lettuce has a very hard rib that goes down the middle yeah and it's kind of a white part yeah i only like the leaf part of lettuce and when i bite into that it's got kind of a crunch crunch and a sourness to it a bitterness a bitterness not sour bitter and i'm not a fan of that i'm like but if i were to go all i would do is dissect my sandwich and i would put what i want and i would have it the way that i want but that is i gotta tell you something phenomenal that's phenomenal For me, it is the kind of opposite. I'm not the biggest fan of shredded lettuce. We've heard that about you. Because it will tend to make sandwiches soggy. Right. Whereas, you know, leaf lettuce to me is my preference. And I don't care about the crunchy part or whatever. How about you, Skye? Yeah, I'm more of the leaf lettuce type of girl. The chicken was very tender. It was really good. That was a good sandwich. Up next, Santee Deli Company. Sheila brought the house club sandwich. This is your signature. We asked all of these sandwich places to bring their signature. This is your signature. Tell us about it. Describe it. It was a hard choice. I brought the house club because it's a cold sandwich, and I thought it would hold up the best. And it is a triple-decker sandwich. It's big. It starts off with...
The condiments are mayonnaise and mustard and avocado. It has thinly sliced roast turkey, thinly sliced black horse ham with cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese. Calm down, Skye. What has Skye done? Don't freak out, Skye. Leave me alone. Is she examining? Listen, let me tell you. I can do what I want. Let me tell everybody listening what I just saw. I look over at Skye, and all I see is the very back of her head. Like, her head is almost completely down flat on the console counter. And it's because she is completely examining the sandwich to see what's going on. I'm seeing if I can work with this. Now, she chose... I gotta tell you that Sheila from Santee Deli Company, who brought in this club sandwich, she chose to serve it with a pepperoncini and a pickle, which I'm gonna try. I appreciate that. I'm going to see how they all... So it's either going to be to your benefit or to your demise. It could be to your detriment. You could die as a result of me not liking it. Basically what I'm saying is Sheila being cancer-free depends on...
On the pickle and pepper team. Let's try this. It looks beautiful. This looks like a great sandwich. You get four parts to this sandwich when you order it, or how does it work? It is big. Two big parts. All right, guys, take a bite. Wait, Sky, what? What kind of cheese is this? Oh, no. You have Swiss cheese and cheddar cheese. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. All right, here we go. This is a mess. Hard to eat. It's so big. I'm making a mess here. Okay, I think I'm working with it now. I think I'm working here. Like the avocado in there. Yeah. Fresh. That ham's good. Save that clip. Shut up! Hey. Yes! South limits. Come on. Honey baked. Yeah, that avocado really adds a little... Come get some ham! Stop it, Sean. It's a good sandwich. It is... Did you try the pickle? I did. I tried both. How'd that work for you? It worked good. It did work good. Not to work detriment.
It was not to the detriment. Demise. It was not to the demise. You do not have cancer. I will say this is a delicious sandwich. I want to ask you about it, though. Because the bread, what kind of bread are you using here? Sourdough. Okay, that answers my question. Because I noticed that the texture of the bread was that it was a little tough. But that is the nature of sourdough. It doesn't matter if you get it fresh out of the oven. Sourdough bread, it's going to have a little bit of a toughness to it. It's delicious. I think all the little elements work together really well. The red onion, perfect. Balance is really good with the flavor of the turkey and the avocado. Turkey and avocado are like best friends. Yes, they are. They go really well together. The bacon all blends in well with it. My only critique is...
This sandwich is a little hard to get into your mouth. It's so big that it's hard to... It's a little hard to... I feel really strange saying all that. Ashley, what did you want to say? I was going to say, in my docking points for my own personal preference, I don't like sourdough. Okay. Is that okay? Or should I not? If you're not a sourdough fan, you have to... You have to rate the sandwich on your personal taste. Okay. Okay. It's the sturdiest bread. But it was really good, Sheila. Thank you. Ash. Okay. We are now going to the last sandwich on our list. This one. This is crazy, this one. I don't know. The last sandwich is from Dirty Del's. Oh, no. Dirty. And Brian is here from Dirty Del's. Sky is immediately turned off by the name. He says, how is a sandwich from a place called Dirty going to be good? But Brian is here. I agree with that. He's wearing his Dirty Del's T-shirt. And you've brought us the Del Scorcho, your signature sandwich. And do your customers just go crazy for this sandwich? We're actually not open yet. We're going to be having our grand opening on March 3rd. Okay. Oh, wow. In two weeks. We're two blocks north of Petco Park. So this could be your detriment. Now, I'm looking at this and I'm... Now, describe it. All right. It's a roast beef. Boar's head meats and cheeses is all we use. So it's simply the best.
It's on a French baguette. It's got lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapenos, and nacho cheese sauce. You can see the nacho cheese sauce coming out of it. And mustard. Sky hates mustard. Why are these people doing it? Are they trying to sabotage me? It's the best thing. Oh, I'll forget to mention there's mustard. I'll forget to mention there's Swiss cheese. She's not well right now. Luckily, Sky likes nacho cheese, so that might... Balance it out for her. Well, I do enjoy jalapeno, so I'll take a bite of that. All right, are you guys ready? Bite the sandwich. Are you guys ready? Yes. She's not going to bite the sandwich? What are you going to bite? A jalapeno. Oh, my goodness. She can bite whatever she wants to bite. She's biting a jalapeno with cheese on it. Leave her alone. You can't touch the sandwich. Try a piece of bread. Try a piece of the bread so you at least get a feel for it. Okay, here we go. Everybody take a bite. You leave me alone, sir. My fault. Oh, that's a spicy jalapeno. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. What kind of meat is that again? Roast beef? It's roast beef. Look at his face. That's really good roast beef. Some good bread. The bread's excellent. Made fresh every day from Sadie Rose. I like the baguette. This one I have issues with. I have to be honest. I have issues with this one. Talk about it. Personal opinion. Personal opinion. My issue with this one is the roast beef I think would be better warmed up and also...
the nacho cheese warmed up. It's supposed to be. It is? Yeah, it was when we first got in here, but we've been here for... Yeah, I just felt the tin. It's warm. I almost think it's unfair then for me to grade you, because... When you come to our place, this is served hot. Roast beef is hot, the bread is toasted, and the nacho cheese sauce is warm and good. Fair enough, because I think that would make all the difference in the world, and I'm trying it now after it's kind of gotten a chance to get cold, and so... I'm going to grade you a little higher. I'm going to grade you higher. I'm going to grade you higher. And the reason that I am is because I know that that would have pumped that sandwich up at least two numbers for me if it had been hot. Because what you've got going on there is good. This is what I will tell you. That roast beef is good quality. Oh, you can taste the flavor of that. The roast beef is good quality. The bread. Yeah, those jalapenos. Shut up. I'm just... trying to point out the positives. So all Sky had was the jalapenos. Shut up. What? The bread was lovely. Sadie Rose. Sadie Rose. Shut up. Try the meat. I don't care for roast beef. Thank you. I have scored. Have you guys scored? Have you guys scored? Yes. They have. I've submitted my ballot. All right. Let's take a break. When we come back. Surrounded by sandwiches. When we come back. That's awesome. We are going to announce the best sandwich in San Diego from the people that came in here.

All right, every six months they save you how much?

Before we went to break, we were trying to decide who makes the best sandwich in San Diego. We had five different companies come in. The only rule was that we would not allow chains.
So we didn't allow Subway. We didn't allow Submarino. We didn't allow Togo's. You had to be a mom and pop place in order to participate. And we had some great, great sandwiches in here today. I'm going to tell you before we even announced the winners, every sandwich was good. Yes, definitely. Every sandwich we had was good. I didn't have a problem with one of them. Divine Postabilities brought the Tor Pasta, which was like a torpedo sub, stuffed with spaghetti and meatballs. Park Place Liquor brought in the El Diablo sandwich, which had chicken breast and melted cheese and Chipotle. Octavio. Santee Deli Company. They brought in the house club sandwich, and it had all of the things that you know and love about a club. Turkey, avocado. a little bit of cheese. It was delicious. And Dirty Del's was the final contestant. They brought in the Del Scorcho sandwich, and that was nacho cheese melted over roast beef, little jalapenos. Delicious. Are you guys ready? Yes. Tell me why you want to see Third Day performing in here tomorrow. They're going to be in the studio tomorrow. They're going to be performing acoustically, and we're going to allow 10 people, 10 pairs, so 20 people all together. To come in and watch them perform and then give you tickets to see their show tomorrow night at the House of Blues, which, by the way, tickets are still available at Ticketmaster if you want to see Third Day. Awesome! And what else can I tell you? I've got pictures of my kid up on my blog and everybody's blogs are up. You can check out what everybody's thinking, what everybody's doing. Go to MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. And in the keyword section, just write the word blogs, and it'll take you to everybody. Skye, what are you blogging about? Well, my blog today is about my trip this weekend to San Francisco, and then I'm going to download the pictures tonight so I can post them on my blog tomorrow. Yeah, we can put pictures on there. Eddie, what are you blogging about? I blogged about my awesome flight experience yesterday. Yeah. It was really good. Eddie had a pretty terrible day concerning delays and all that stuff.
Ash, what about you? You blogging about not feeling well? Influenza. Influenza. Taking over my life. Influenza. And I was blogging. I don't want to lie, buddy. I was blogging about all sorts of things, but I included pictures of my son, Jake, because a lot of people have said, I've never seen your kid. Who, that hippie? That's right. Little beatnik. I don't know what I kid. My own little beatnik. I shave his head. I know my parents are wondering. When are they going to cut his hair? Because they're old school, you know? They're old school. Buzz cut. And kind of the hip thing right now with moms is to let the kids' hair get kind of long like they're in a rock band. Yeah, he's a new waver. That's right. And so all these pictures of Jake, his hair, he's very JFK Jr. He kind of reminds me of Jared Leto a little bit. My so-called life. That's right. I love it.
So you can see some pictures. He's gigantic. He looks like a boy now. He's not a baby. He looks like a baby. And Jake's starting to look like a little boy now. And yeah, there you go. Get him in Fight Club pretty soon. Yeah, that's true. We're getting him ready. We're getting him ready. It's going to be awesome. Alright, let's take some phone calls. See who wants to see third day in studio tomorrow. Is this Bo? Yes, sir. What's up, Mike? What's up, man? You like Third Day? I love them. What's your favorite song by Third Day? Love Song on Offerings 1. There you go. Who are you going to bring with you? I'm going to bring my friend Danny, actually, here at work. We've been trying to get through. Third Day's our favorite band. Okay, well, here's what I'm going to do. You're going to come in tomorrow. You're going to watch them perform acoustically. You're also going to get breakfast, and we'll give you tickets to the show tomorrow night. Hang on the line, okay? Love it. P1 Christina. Hey, Mikey. How you doing? I'm good. How are you? Good. What song do you like? My favorite song is I Believe. Sweet. And have you ever seen Third Day perform before? I've never seen them. I heard about them only from your show, and I got my boyfriend hooked. He loves your band, the band. That's awesome. That was P1, but yeah, he's going to flip out. Very, very cool. Yeah. Okay, hang on the line. My phone is ringing, and this is... Hang on a second. Hello?
I'll tell you why I'm doing this. Hello. I saw this thing. My cell phone is now starting to get telemarketing calls. Really? I saw a call that I had missed yesterday from Bend, Oregon. And I'm getting telemarketing. Weird. Damn it! All right, anyway. Let's get back to it. And so I wanted to find out what that is. P1 Third Day Fan. What's up, Mikey? What's going on, dude? Checked out the blog this morning. That Jake is one... Cute little dude, man. I'm telling you. That makes me so happy. He's like a mini Oracle. All right, dude. Tell me what song you like by third day. I mean, everyone's got to like consuming fire. I mean, consuming fire, it just rocks. All right, hang on the line. You're coming in to watch them tomorrow. And Eddie, you said 10, right? You said we can give away 10 hair. How many have we given away, Rob? I just want to make sure I don't go over. Am I still good?
Rob is counting. Rob got a haircut, by the way. He cut all his hair off. It looks good. Yeah, Mike, I got a pic over the weekend. No, no bets. Had my fiance cut for me. We got five away so far. We've given five away. With that last one. What was that, Christina? The last one was Third Day Fan. Six. So we have four left. Four left. P1 Booze. What's up, guys? What's going on, dude? Man, I love your show. Love you guys. What song you like by Third Day? Man, it changed my life, and it's called Feet. That's from the first album. Yeah. Third Day. All right. Cool, man. And I'll give you, we'll set you up with tickets to go to their show tomorrow night at House of Blues, okay? That's awesome, man. Thanks so much. Hang on in line. And finally, P1 Christina, you there? Hi, Mikey. How's it going? Pretty good. What song you like? Oh, my favorite one is You're Everywhere. You're Everywhere. Yeah. All right, well, I'm going to have you hang on. Can you come in tomorrow and watch them perform? I sure can. That would be so awesome. And you can go to the show tomorrow night? Yes. Hang on the line. That is a total of seven. That is a total. So we have two more left. Is that the deal? We have two more left. Maybe. Should we do them now or should we give them away? What do you think? Yeah, let's blow them out. Let's blow them out. Let's blow them out. P1SBD. Hey, what's up? Not too much. BD.
Wait. SBD. What does SBD stand for? Oh, come on. I'm Silent But Deadly. Silent But Deadly. Wow. How inappropriate. That is the most disgusting thing. Well, a girl. I'm proud of myself. I am not proud of you. I am not proud of you. Well, let's see. What would somebody that is named Silent But Deadly, what is your favorite third day song? I love Cry Out To Jesus. Of course. Of course. I mean, what other one would it be? Certain people communicate differently. That's right. Some people communicate with the silent but deadly. While others communicate in a much more, hey, I'm here to stay kind of way. Unnecessary. That's right. Ashley does not do that. She's a lady. And she said that is not ladylike. Hang on the line though, SBD. You're coming in to see them. Do not lay any silent but deadlies. Don't you dare lay any silent but deadlies. I won't care if you do. Eddie will not care. Hang on the line. Just be sure and claim it. I believe you will care. I don't care. I believe you would say, I don't like that. I won't like it, but you guys are acting all crazy. Our final pair of third day tickets. P1 Stay at Home Dad. P1 Stay at Home Dad, are you there? Yeah, this is Tim. What's going on, dude? Not much.
What is your favorite third day song? It's called These Thousand Heels. Nice. It's on the offerings. You ever seen them perform live? No, I haven't. They are one of the best sounding bands live that I've ever seen or heard. They sound exactly like they do on the record. Uh-huh. And I think that you're in for a treat tomorrow morning. Nice. Hang on the line, all right? All right, thanks. Very cool. I haven't been this excited about a concert in a long time. They're going to be at House of Blues tomorrow night. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster, but you're going to hear them live on the radio tomorrow morning. They do the song that I play for my testimony every Friday morning. I have no idea what that will sound like, acoustic. I know. I can't even imagine. We'll see. All right, what do we got for you? Man, there's a lot of stuff happening in the news today. Before we get to anything else, why don't we do some of this? The giveaways continue. I can't even believe it. My head's going to explode. All right, let's do it. You know how this is playing. Dude, I got the lines jammed with people I need to get info from. And to find someone right now, this is going to be near impossible for me to do. That's true. I didn't even see it.
Yeah, he's got lines because he's trying to get the information. Oh, way to go, Rob. Don't worry. This is my fault. Maybe if he was taller, he could... Yeah. Yeah. Got me. Got me. Yeah. I got about a million directions we can go in right now. One of the things that I think people might want to hear is exactly what kind of gifts Paris Hilton wants for her birthday. Oh, God. Of course. What kinds of gifts does Paris Hilton like for her birthday cut? Did somebody give Paris Hilton for her birthday? If someone even just writes me a really sweet card, makes me a collage. But, you know, I love diamonds, too. Yuck. She was partying it up on the weekend, man. Oh, did you see those pictures? She really likes to have a good time. She likes to dance in lingerie. She does. Well, and also, like... Dominatrix outfits. Oh, yeah. Sexy. I mean, come on. She was at a party and she was doing it up. That's what we all wear to the nightclub, Mike. Gotta have the right music bed. Bad news for Pink fans. Pink has filed for divorce from her husband. His name is... Corey Hart. Corey Hart. He sang Sunglasses at Night. Same guy. Great song. What's the deal, Sky? So it now really is just her and her hand.
That is true. That is 100% true. There is nothing that Eddie said that is not incorrect. Thank you. It was interesting because over the weekend pictures popped up on the gossip websites of her husband with this hot brunette chick and they said they were hanging out all night and everyone was like, Shady! And then it turns out Did they say it like that? Everybody was all Shady! I heard that everybody did it that way. I was on the phone with Mike when he said it. Oh, really? I go, hey, Sean, this just in. Isn't it odd that I don't work for CNN by now? It's really weird. But anyway, yeah. And then it turns out that, yes, they are separated and a divorce is in the works. Her rep said that they have separated. And this decision was made by the best of friends with a huge amount of love and respect for one another. While their marriage is over, their friendship has never been stronger. If their friendship has never been stronger, why not stay together? Don't you marry your best friend? Because it's never been stronger, Mike. Well, that doesn't make sense. It would seem that at this point.
The friendship is strained. You would think that the day that they got married, the friendship was stronger than it had ever been. If it's stronger, then you're, like, getting along better. Yeah. Also, this is big news, too. Dog the Bounty Hunter, back in production. Ooh, really? Wow. I heard this guy say something on the radio the other day that I was like, man, I want to call in. I want to call in to every radio show I listen to. You do. It's so funny. I do. I want to call in to every radio show I listen to. you do sometimes i do but i was listening to this guy and he said i don't think dog the bounty hunter has anything to apologize to anybody for and i don't understand why he did apologize and here's why he said when he said those things he's saying it in the context of a private conversation with his son so he may be an idiot and a jerk but i don't think that he has anything to apologize to uh to anyone for uh except maybe his son And I was like, give me the phone. Give me the phone, you. And if he's listening, which I'm sure he is, this guy I heard on the radio. I don't remember who I heard say it, but what I was thinking was, I thought, no, no, no, listen. In the context of a private conversation, you're absolutely right. I got a news flash for you, though, bro. This ain't private anymore.
And now there are members of your audience, if you're Dog the Bounty Hunter, that may be offended by what you said. And so to those of your fans whom you never were speaking of that may be offended because they are the same color as the person whom you were speaking of, you might want to say, hey, listen, explanation, explanation, explanation, sorry. And there's nothing, there's certainly nothing wrong with that. And yeah, I do think that those people would want to hear you say that you're sorry for it. You heard me when it all happened. I mean, I had a really strange feeling about that whole Dog the Bounty Hunter thing. I didn't think that he was racist, believe it or not. What I thought when I heard Dog saying all that stuff was I heard a guy who was raised in a very particular environment. And I think that in his screwed up mind, He distinguishes between somebody in his mind who's an N-word and somebody in his mind who's a black person. And in his mind, they're both different. Does that make it wrong? No. Does it make it, by definition, racist? Maybe. However, for me, the definition of racism is hatred. And I don't think that Doug the Bounty Hunter has hatred in his heart for black people.
That's just my opinion. A lot of people disagree. But A&E is starting production again on Dog the Bounty Hunter. Now, Sky, my question to all you guys is, how do they do it? How can they do it and survive the firestorm that has got to come from this of bringing it back? That's a great question. Do they not acknowledge it? Do they run some sort of little apology thing? before the episode airs? I don't know, man. And what happens when Dog is chasing down his first African-American guy? What happens there? And let's say cameras are following him. He's chasing a black guy. He arrests this black guy. And let's say that this black guy starts telling him he's racist and blah, blah, blah. If you're A&E, do you air that? Or do you go, we can't show that? and then wants to take that black guy saying, hey, when the cameras weren't rolling, dog was calling me the N-word and this and that. Oh, Eddie, it's coming too, right? Yeah, for sure. It's coming, right? It's gotta be. No-brainer. So those are two gigantic stories that are out there right now. When we come back, Denise Richards is finally talking about dating Richie Sambora.
And the deal with her best friend, Heather Locklear, and dating her, basically her husband. Oh. So her best friend is Heather Locklear. Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora split up, and Denise Richards, Heather's best friend, immediately starts dating him. Now, ladies, would you be cool with that? That's crazy. Would you ladies be cool with, you know, you break up with your husband, and your best friend starts dating him? Yeah. Is everyone cool? No. I don't think so. So let's hear what Denise Richards is saying. It's a 33-second long clip, so believe it or not, that's actually a lot of talking about it. We'll hear it next. Say what you have to say and shut up. It is true. Cold medicine and irritation of Zeth. You know, the two together. It's kind of a combo. Dangerous. I think there's a warning label on the bottle. There is. It says could cause irritation at Zeth. Right on the NyQuil bottle it says that. 570-1053. We need a guy and we need a girl. So give us a call right now if you want to play P1 Trivia. Now the winner gets to come into the studio on Friday. You get a backstage pass that we have printed up for you. It's laminated. You get to wear it. And you get to come and hang out in the studio with us the entire show long. Sweet. And it's a pretty cool thing that we've been doing for listeners for a while. The way that we play, though, is we ask you questions about the Mikey Show. It's a trivia game.
And the first person to five points is the winner. You choose between one, two, and three-point questions. So you can get there real fast if you are smart enough. But some of you, you may go, I'm going to play it really safe. I'm going to take the easier one-point questions rather than the tougher three-point questions. It's up to you, one, two, or three-pointers. You're smart! P1 Rima. Hey, guys. Rima, how you doing? Good, how are you? Good, how old are you? 23. All right. How long have you been listening? About two and a half years. All right. Cool. Next up, P1 Jason. Jason, how old are you? I'm 30. You're 30. How long have you been listening? About two and a half, three years also. There you go. It sounds like it's a fair contest. Yeah. Pretty fair battle. Sky, who started last time? Guys or girls? The guys. All right. Rima, you're up. All right. You want a one, two, or three point question? Give me a two. You got it. Name one of the members on the show who has a saltwater fish tank. Um, you, Mikey. That is true. Oh, there it is. That is correct. We have, in fact, put you on the board. Yeah. All right. Jason, one, two, or three-pointer? On a two. How many Eddie vs. B-Rob sport challenges has B-Rob won? He has won one, the Holly Buster. That is correct. Oh.
And even that one was shady. It was a prolific one, though. Shady. Way shady. One because of your partner. It's all prolific. A little bit. Well said. Rima. Rima, would you like a one, two, or three-pointer? Give me another two, guys. Another two. All right. Your two-point question is, what member of the Mikey Show talks about working out at Frogs Fitness? Eddie. That is correct. Right there. Take a look at that. Oh, yeah. Oh, dude, put that on the board. It's got to be a big board. Rima needs one more point in order to be coming into the studio. Jason, you could wrap it up with a three-point question, or you could play it safe. You got it. Your three-point question is, how many cats do Mikey and Skye each have? Um, I'm going to say seven. That is incorrect. Listen to the question. That is incorrect. I don't know. What are we, little old ladies? Sky has two. I have two. Sky loves hers. I don't. Don't act like you don't know Tango and Logan. Okay, calm down. My cats are Jules and Sydney. And the other one. The other one, uh...
Passed on. She passed on. I know. I meant Sydney was the other one. You're so insensitive, Eddie. Because it's really insensitive. Terrible. I wasn't speaking of that. Terrible. Wow, Eddie. How dare you? Oh, my God. You're the worst. Rima, hopefully you can bring the mood up here. Oh, my God. Mine's out of the gutter. Rima, you need only answer a one-point question to win. Ooh. Are you ready? One-pointer, guys. Show off. Take a three. Your one-point question is, who is Bunny Boo? Sky's husband. You go! Yeah, I love him. I love him. Very well done. He's the best. He's yours only. This is disgusting. What did you say, Rima? I have a Bunny Boo, too. You do? No, you don't. Do you really call him Bunny Boo? No, I call him Boo, but we have fun, so it kind of makes sense. I see. All right, well, Rima, you are coming into the studio on Friday, and Jason, so are you. Whoa! Jason, are you there? I'm here. You're coming in, too. Awesome, thanks. Yeah, I'm going to let you come in because I think you did a great job, and it's been a while since we've let a couple of people, so you're coming in, too, all right? Awesome, thanks, guys. Hang on the line, you two. You two bunny booers. Ew. Skye, how long have you been calling him that? For real?
Gosh, I don't know. I think I've been calling him Bunny probably for the last, like... It will only happen one time. I've been calling him Bunny for like the last eight years, and then it evolved into Bunny Boo probably about four or five years ago. Gross. If my girlfriend or my wife had ever called me Bunny, I'd say, hey, listen, I really love you. I think you're a wonderful person. I'm okay with 99.9% of nicknames. Bunny, I have to veto. The booze is a sensitive soul. He gets it. Don't do that. He is a sensitive... I love him. He's a sensitive soul. I love him. Shut up. Meet him with some respect, will you? You should have seen we were on our flight on Virgin America and you can... You can send like messages from seat to seat. And I kept sending him like little pet names and he wouldn't respond to me. And he was like looking over his shoulder to see if any of the other passengers could see.
Poor guy, man. They were probably horrendous names. No, I love him. He's the best. Was Donkey Kong one of the names that you would use? I don't call him that. I don't call him that. I thought because it was a private thing. It's a helicopter ride in the Donkey Kong 2. I call him sweet, loving names. Abe Froman, the Sausage King. I do not call him that. I don't think she calls him Abe Froman, the sausage king of dot, dot, dot. I did not. I did not. I didn't think you did. It would make sense. I like it. Stop it. Yes, Eddie, you are right. Thank you, Scott. So the fight between HD DVD and Blu-ray DVD is over. Really? There is no longer a battle. One of them has won, and the other one has said, fine, you win, we're out of the business. And it's HD DVD that says we're out of the business. Blu-ray, you win. Yeah, Toshiba just announced they're no longer going to make or sell their HD DVD players or recorders. Yeah, and just last month, Warner Brothers announced that they were going to only release their movies in Blu-ray, not in HD DVD. So it's pretty clear what's going on here, people. I have both, but I prefer the HD. Oh, why? Why?
Because it was the first one that I got, and so I've talked myself into believing that it looks better. Because it was the first one I got. The Blu-ray that I have is my PS3. And I actually wonder, I wonder if it would look any better on an actual Blu-ray player as opposed to my video game console. Maybe it would, I don't know. What kind of connector is it? It's real good. It's all connected really good. It's a giga connector with a FPZ. Shani, what's the highest you can connect? Isn't it HDMI? HDMI. I think it's HDMI. But it does look good, but I wish the other one had won. The largest recall of beef in U.S. history has taken place. What's the matter? Well, this all goes back to, we were talking about this a couple weeks when it came out, that undercover video that was shot by the Humane Society showing really sick and crippled cows being shoved around with forklifts and, you know. And so if a cow's really... What, what, Eddie, what? I'm just sitting here listening quietly. What's going on, Eddie? I'm thinking maybe they're just tenderizing the meat. Oh, you son of a...
Eddie, I don't think that. It's Eddie at KIOZ.com. Listen, in defense of Eddie. In defense of Eddie. How can you defend that? Because I'm telling you. How do you defend that? Well, because it's more about getting under your skin than anything else in the world. Pretty good one, you got to admit. Thank you. That was a good joke. Pretty good one. So, yeah, when animals are really sick like that, you're not supposed to use them for, you know, meat because they're sick. So who knows what's going on in there? You know what I'm saying? I do not know what you're saying. I do. Well, I wouldn't cook me right now. I'm so sick. Why would you want all my drinks? But even when you're healthy, I wouldn't cook you. Well, but I'm eating it in the lake. Work with me. I'm trying to. I'm trying to. I'm saying that you wouldn't be delicious when you're healthy. They are. A cow's delicious when it's healthy. So he's got a cold. Oh, well, give me a rib steak. I love rib steaks. If you would have seen these cows on the video, you would not care for a rib steak from one of those cows. Why? Because he looks bad? Because he's sick. How do I... What does he have? What has he got?
I don't know what he's got, but it's sad, man. He's got VDO on any part of him. He could just be like Rob and skinny. Yeah, maybe he's just skinny. I think Ashley's making my point for me. A cow's got a cold? Whatever. Give me a rib steak. It wasn't a cult. These animals were very sick. You're beefist, Skye. Why are you so beefy? I'm not the beefist. You are, man. Are you a cow doctor now? Yeah, for sure, man. So anyway, the U.S. Department of Agriculture recalled 143 million pounds of beef. How do we know what's one? Well, and here's the kicker, everybody. You're so prejud beef. Here's the kicker. So this film, this undercover video that was taken, it was taken a while ago. So the recall goes back to beef products dating February the 1st, 2006. Well, we ate. Yeah, we're already done. I'm full. And a lot of this beef went to the schools. It was part of a program that's funny. Well, it's like, how can we make this worse? Oh, I know how. Yeah, no kidding.
Yeah, so... It went to schools and old folks' homes. Exactly. That's awesome. Yeah, that's really, really, really great. So, I mean... Great. Grill not fresh. So, they're saying there's a very... There, there, there. They're saying there's... Put it over there, there, there. Yuck, yuck, yuck. There's a very, very remote chance. Great. Ew. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Oh. So there's a very remote chance that this meat could make anyone sick. It doesn't meet their standards. So here's the recall. Yeah, great. Over here, barf. That's awesome. That is so gross, man. That's horrible. And, of course, they're also doing an investigation on animal abuse. Beef. It's what's recalled for dinner. This is a strange story. But apparently, the guy that was featured in most of the Bum Fights videos has turned his life around. I told Eddie, I said, we should try to get the guy on the show. I think this is kind of a neat story. Oh, yeah. The guy's name is Rufus Hanna. And he was homeless, but somebody gave him a chance. They let him be like a janitor at the building that they lived at. Now he's kind of turned his life around.
And so what is he doing, Skye? Well, he's been sober for five years now, and he now speaks to young people about his experiences and also is attempting to get homeless people added to the hate crime legislation. I think that that's great. Yeah. Wow. I think that's great, and I think that they should. Definitely. They should definitely do that. Anyway, here's a clip of the guy. Cut 41. My nickname that I was given was Rufus the Stump Bum. Life on the street at the time, it was hell. I just didn't want to die on the streets as a drunk and haven't been remembered that way. So awesome when somebody turns it around that drastically. Awesome! That's awesome, man. All right, so check this out. Denise Richards, right? So she's best friends with Heather Locklear. Heather Locklear's husband is Richie Sambora. Richie Sambora and Heather Locklear break up. So Denise Richards decides I'll date him. Appropriate. Yeah. So here she is talking about it. Cut seven. Honestly, I knew that that situation was going to was not going to go over very well. And it was, you know, going to be in the press. I had no idea that it would blow up the way it did. The truth of the matter is my friendship with Heather ended before Richie and I even started dating. No. And it's all good. That's one thing that people.
I don't know if they knew or not. I never had an affair. I never cheated on Charlie and Richie never cheated on Heather. And if I was still friends with Heather, I never would have crossed that line with Richie at all. I would love to continue the conversation. Why? Why wouldn't you? If you were still friends, why wouldn't you? Well, that would be wrong. Well, why would it be wrong? Well, because, you know, he was, you know, he would be with her. He would be with someone. Well, wouldn't it also be wrong because it's more than just someone. It's your really good friend. But, hey, listen, it is what it is. They didn't work out either. Denise Richards and Richie Sambora didn't work out. They are no longer together. Reese Witherspoon doesn't have any problem eating gross stuff. No problem at all. Nope, she was on The Tonight Show talking about it. Cut 11. Are you one of these people who eat gross things? Like, you know, for some reason on these shows, again, women seem to like this. They always make you eat some disgusting thing. Oh, yeah. I could totally eat a bug or things like that. Eat a bug? I've had to eat a bug in a movie before. Really? I did a movie in Africa and they made me eat grub worms and I ate them. It was okay. They're crunchy. Now, why did they make you... Put a little salt on it.
Why did they make you eat them? It was in the scene. I had to do it in the scene. But they don't have, like, gummy worms? Oh, no. They don't have extra props around in Africa. You just eat the worms. I have never, ever, ever heard a woman say stuff like that. That's pretty crazy. I never heard a chick say that she would be willing to do that. Every girl I've ever known, that's a very masculine quality. I love her. And even guys I know are afraid to do it. Oh, yeah? Mm-hmm. So that was a pretty striking piece of audio. I think she might be my new idol. Oh, no. She's really great. But that's a good one. Why? That's a good one. I say, oh, no, because I want Ashley to pick one and stick with him. Well, it's been Gwen Stefani and Fergie forever. But I think it should be either Gwen Stefani or Fergie. I might just add a little Reese to that. Now you're going to add Reese? Yeah. You can't have one best friend. I mean, you can't have more than one best friend. I can do whatever I want. You can't. So this is a clip of Ashley's best friend, Oprah, talking to Jim Carrey about his motto in life. Cut 12. Does Jim Carrey have a motto? Do you have a motto or creed? Actually, I kind of do. I have a lot of creeds, but I am heaven is mine.
You are heaven? Yeah. You just make that up. No, no, that's how I feel. Really? That's kind of what I have to try to come back to when I get kind of lost out there sometimes. Just remember you're heaven. You know? I love that. That heaven is not a place to get to or wait for or spend your life in a mine hoping it'll be someday. Yeah. Have it now, you know? Gee. Hey, that's what I'm doing, Dr. Seuss, man. That's the way I get the gig. I don't understand. What does that mean? He is heaven. I don't understand. I understand the concept of when he goes, I don't think that you have to believe it's a place that you have to try to get to that you can live it here on Earth. I totally get that, what he's saying. But what does it mean, I am heaven? I think he meant, I am legend. I thought that's what he meant, too. I am legend. But that's Will Smith, though. That confuses me, though, because that's like you're the last man on Earth. Doesn't make sense to me. Steve Carell.
on trying real hard not to cry during a movie. Cut 14. I never realized how sort of really multi-layered Dr. Seuss is until this movie. It's very sweet, and I saw the movie a few days ago, and at the end, and we were in a screening room, there were just a few of us in the room, and I was looking around because I was actually getting choked up and starting to cry, and I thought, really? Am I doing this? And I was, you know, trying not to... doing one of these casually. No, I'm fine. It is. I mean, and what you guys were saying before, there is a depth to it. There is a richness to it. And it's sweet. And it's funny at the same time. That so reminds me of that story that Craig Gass told. Craig's a friend of ours. He's a comedian. He does voices and he comes on the show sometimes does this thing called Craig Gass Theater because he does the voice of Al Pacino real good and Sam Kinison. and he was talking about how he was at this comedy festival of all places in Alaska. He went to this comedy festival in Alaska, and a bunch of these comedians were friends of his. So they decided one day that they were going to go to the movies. So they all go to the movies, and he doesn't remember what they went and saw, but they went and saw a movie, and they really enjoyed it. But when it was over, they had a little time. So they said, let's go see another movie. We'll sneak into one.
And so the only movie that was playing that they said that they could all agree on was one called The Notebook. Really? But half of them didn't know. Whoa. Yeah, half of them didn't know what the movie was, The Notebook. They didn't know. Oh, my God. That's funny. So they go in there, and he said it's like five or six comedians. They're all sitting there. He says the movie starts, and it's the voiceover of the lead actor. Who is that lead actor? James Garner. James Garner. beautiful scenery of a lake with these birds swimming over the top of the lake at sunset. And the voiceover is of James Garner saying something to the effect of, you know, I never really knew what love was until I met her. And Craig said that suddenly it hit him. And not, oh no, this is a movie I'm not going to like. Oh no, no, no, no, no. That wasn't it at all. It was
I'm going to cry. During this movie, I'm going to cry and I'm with men. I'm with men that I know and that know me and that respect me and know me as a guy that uses his fair share of swear words and can guy it up. Guy it up with the rest of them, with every guy. And he said, sure enough, in the course of the movie, he had to try to somehow hide these tears that are streaming down his face. During the no point, it was so embarrassing and humiliating, he said. I said, I get that way sometimes with movie trailers. When I saw the movie trailer for the movie The Lake House. Oh, boy. Every time that I have my arms stand up. I said, boy, that's well done. What do you want? You want the tears to come out of my eyes? That's so well done, the way they do it with the music swelling. Because music, you know, you guys know.
Music can do everything. Can change everything with a movie. Suddenly take a movie from being just kind of okay to being like one of the most unbelievably powerful things ever. You know, like when a guy is down on his luck and he's trying so hard to make it back, but then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, he realizes he has it in him. Wells, and you're watching. He's working out and you can tell it's painful. And he's doing those sit-ups and they hurt. And he's old, and he looks like there's no way he's going to be able to go up against this chiseled Adonis that can beat anybody in the world. But there's his trainer, and he's saying, you've got to do it, Rock. Never gave up Jason. You did this. He's in there, and he's actually starting to make some headway on this. I mean, he's starting to beat this guy to a pulp who he had no chance to win. He was such an underdog. Here he is, and he's beating him in front of everybody. But he can't do it. He can't do it. It's a woman.
That's all in the music. See, I cried. I know it. You got me. I'm telling you, Ashley didn't like any of it. I did. I'll tell you what, though. So that's a powerful moment, but then you got other emotions. Oh, no. I don't want to hear this one. Dale Music helps out another form. Stop it. I'll do it. I don't care. I don't care. Now, you've got to imagine music is so powerful, but what if they were to replace one music for the next? Instead of, in Rocky, instead of using that powerful music, what if they had decided on something? A whole different tone. Now he's working out and he's in some fast motion and everything. Chasing the chicken.
You know, the girl walks in at the end of the scene with the big thick glasses with this music on and her name's Adrian. Yeah. Now it gives Adrian a whole different feeling. She walks out, comes back in a nurse's outfit. Exactly. Like, whoa. That's weird. That doesn't seem to. I don't really understand that. That's why I love music. Particularly, you know what I've been doing? I've been writing to the soundtrack of the creepy part of the soundtrack of Apocalypse Now. Oh, no. What? Oh, I'm telling you. Like on repeat? I don't know if that's healthy. No, no, no, no. I got all these different... I was talking to my wife about that. I said, I don't know if it's healthy. So I was trying to figure it out with her. I don't know if it's healthy. You're going to turn into Jack Nicholson of The Shining. Seriously. You want to hear it? You want to hear it? I got it. I got it here. Is it going to creep me out? It is going to creep you out. So how long is it? Are you playing on repeat? It's long. Yeah. It's long. But I'm telling you, it's creepy. You're writing a kid's book?
Go get the one in the trunk. Stupid iPhone won't let you do it. A glove box. Do you play it low? Yes. And you want to know something? Sometimes I only write it at night and sometimes I have to change the song. Because you get scared? Yeah. And I'll play you which one. I'll play it for you, and I'll go, this one, I can't do it. Now, is that just to get in the mind frame? Yeah, yeah, yeah. The zone? Yeah, get in the zone. Weird. But I'm telling you, man. See, movie music to me is the most powerful thing in the world. Like, I think it's so moving. Well, music in general, I've always thought, is extraordinarily moving. And, you know, for instance... My favorite filmmaker, Paul Thomas Anderson, he always uses the same guy, this guy John Bryan. John Bryan used to date the girl who played Chloe from 24. Used to date Mary Lynn Reiske. Your best friend. My best friend, Mary Lynn. And all of that music, very moving, very moving. Okay, here we go. This music's going to creep you out. You want to hear the one that I can't listen to? Yeah, yeah. I can't listen to this one. You are.
I can't listen to this one. Why? Oh, you can't listen to this one? I can't listen to it. Can you play one you can listen to? Oh, you want to hear the ones that I do listen to? Yes. I'll tell you one that I think is great. This one's great. I want a visual. Here you go. Here you go. I need a visual. Scary. I write to this all the time. Oh, this one's better. What are you writing about? You got to read it. Creepy stuff. You got to read it and you got to listen to this while you read it. Did you read it, Ash? Not yet. Beautiful music. I love the music. I love it. That's so creepy. It is creepy. It is creepy. That's why I write to it. I'll give you another one. Do you write in the nude? Of course I don't write in the nude. I only watch television that way. Oh, gotcha. Okay, I'm reading your story. What story? I wrote a story for my creative writing class. How does she have it? And you sent it to Ashley? I'm real embarrassed. I'm afraid if I send it to you guys, what you guys will think I'm... You sent it to her? Yeah, because I know that she won't make fun of me. I really enjoy his writing. I tell him that every day.
I'm a really big fan. She does. She comments on my writing all the time. And so I said, all right, you want to see this? Yeah, I actually would have asked anyways. I know you guys will think I'm weird because you already think I'm weird with this. You know what? The music is totally making the story better. That's weird. Would you want to see it, Eddie? Of course. It's real. It's real. Interesting. It's very different. But the music, for me, it makes all the difference in the world. Ow, dude. This one I love. Here's another one. I'm going to go stand in his driveway and throw rocks at his window. Scare him? Yeah. You're mean. Listen to this one. I'm all about Eddie. Helping a friend. Can't even imagine that scene. Is your office dark? No, dude. No way. I'm telling you. That'd be creepy. My office is. Like with a little light just on the desk. Right. My office is bright and it creeps me out enough. Yeah. If your background music changed. Well, see, you know, because I love movies. That's why I write in that way. Yeah.
That's why I write in a very particular way. One of these, you know what we'll do on a 28-hour show? Yeah. Real late at night, I'll read it to you. Okay. Real late at night, I'll read it to you. Is it a scary story? No, not necessarily. But that music it is. But, you know, it's just a mood. It's just a mood. Yeah, I get that. It's a mood. Gotta have a mood. Eddie will love this. Eddie Vedder is coming to San Diego on his first solo tour. Ooh. You love Eddie Vedder. I do love Eddie Vedder. But would you do it without Pearl Jam? I've heard some of his solo stuff, and it's good. It's not the same, but I would probably go see him. Yeah, because all the music from the movie Into the Wild is basically Eddie Vedder's first solo album. So he'll be doing a lot of that stuff. So he'll be coming April the 15th to Spreckles. I have that. I like that. Maybe I should bring the iPod in more often. You have the music? Yeah, I have the music from that movie. Play that one song. Let's see. Yeah, that one song. It's good. It's real good. Yeah, track numbers. I think it's called Jeremy. Did you guys go see? What? Did you guys go see End of the Wild? I haven't seen it yet. No. I think it's coming out on video pretty soon. Yeah. Is it a romantic comedy? It is. It's really romantic and hysterical. Yeah, Amy Adams in it? Yes. Cool. It's the feel-good comedy of the year.
I lied. It's not on there. Thought it was. Let's see. What are the big things that I forget? We got to get out of here. I've given you almost everything anyway. So the new releases are kind of whatever. Well, they're whatever today. No big deal. It's just there's two DVDs I want to mention for you. What? American Gangster. Oh. Out on DVD today. And Ashley Michael Clayton out on DVD. Michael Clayton is so good. Yeah. Rent it. Or buy it. So those are the two big releases today. It's really good. Ashley explained it to us one time. I didn't. You didn't let me. We really thought it sounded really interesting. Well, she said, you know, he has, you know, this company and he's a lawyer. And then he's like, I am. Like he goes to Afghanistan. And he's like, whoa, check me out. I'm a lawyer. Yeah. That's weird. So it sounded great. 5701053 is a phone number beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment where you can call in about anything you want. It's up to you. It's open phone, so we let you do anything you want and call about any variety of things. Anything good on TV tonight? Is it American Idol tonight? I think it was Tuesday. I keep thinking it's Monday today. American Idol. And then Big Bro. Eddie's getting the TV section right now.
Hang on, everybody. Take a couple calls. Yeah, American Idol, two-hour male singers performed to get into the top 12. And Big Brother on at 9 o'clock. There you go. Mikey Show, hello. Hi, Mikey. This is P1 Confused. What's up? I was wondering if you had any more third-day tickets left. Tomorrow. We'll give some more away tomorrow. Tomorrow we'll have more. Okay. All right, brother. Thanks. Thank you. Mikey Show. Hey, can I talk to Mikey? This is Mikey. You're on the air. Hey, what's up? This is P1 Jungle. I was wondering, do you have any spots? I mean, I know you're probably out of tickets, but I was wondering if you have any spots in the morning, maybe for one more or two. We do not. We gave them all away. I see. We gave them all away. Sorry about that, man. Is there one more thing? I wanted to ask about the podcast. You're not podcasting very much anymore, and it's sometimes hard for me to listen to the show on my schedule. We podcast every day that we're on. So if there's anything missing, it's because we... Either we were off or, you know, something like that. Like a holiday. Holiday. Like we weren't here yesterday because it was a holiday. I see. Okay. All right, man. Cool. All right. Thanks a lot. Thank you. Mikey Show. Hey, it's P1AJ. I have two questions for you. One, what movie was that music you were playing from? It was all from Apocalypse Now, believe it or not. Which is, I know that doesn't, it sounded very different than that. You go, well, that doesn't sound like a Vietnam movie.
Now, that actually sounded really familiar. I just couldn't place the movie to it. Yeah, it was the Apocalypse Now redo soundtrack. And last question, are there any WWE tickets left? Nope, we gave those away too, man. I'm sorry. Man, I wish we could help people. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? Not too much. Hey, when are you going to bring back Mikey's gay iPod, man, since it's in the studio? Mikey's gay pod? Yeah, bro. We'll bring that back eventually. We rest everything for a little bit and then bring it back so we keep it fresh for you guys all the time. We like for the Mikey Show to be like a salad bar. Everything's fresh all the time. You come in here and it's always fresh. So we'll bring it back. Thank you, brother. All right. Take care, man. Lovely and talented Missy is up next. Third day's in the studio tomorrow playing music in the 9 o'clock hour. Tune in. Today on the Nooner, Missy has the all-request lunch. We'll see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out late. Love you, man.
