Mikey, Eddie, Skye, Ashley and Boston Rob mixed comic arguments with interviews, including Skye challenging P1 Hugh's pocketbook-based politics and the crew mocking Ashley's failed cookies. Rainn Wilson discussed Juno, The Office and Schrute Space, while Chuck Liddell promoted his memoir and rebutted Tito Ortiz's account of their feud. Callers supplied celebrity stories, Amber joined a serious argument about post-wedding depression, and Lost fans debated Aaron, the Oceanic Six, Locke and Michael. Barbara Walters' story about Fidel Castro's grilled cheese led to a recipe argument, and Mikey and Skye split over using one's own bone or cadaver bone for surgery. T-Rex recalled sparring with Muhammad Ali before Mikey closed with his account of alcoholism, Christian conversion and recovery.
What happened, in order
Ashley's cookie flop
Ashley described trying a rave-reviewed chocolate-chip-cookie recipe, only for Eddie and Skye to throw the results in the trash while insisting it was accidental.
Voting by the pocketbook
P1 Hugh said he favored Republicans because he received raises under them and pay cuts under Democrats, while Skye argued that voters should weigh war and other public issues alongside personal income.
Rainn Wilson after the strike
Rainn Wilson joked about his four-line role in Juno, said The Office would resume filming six episodes on March 10, and revealed that he personally wrote the Schrute Space blog.
Celebrity encounters
Callers traded awkward celebrity stories involving Junior Seau changing a baby on a pool table, Steve Martin brushing off autograph seekers, Tonya Harding fighting in a bar, and Hilary Swank reluctantly posing at Disneyl
Chuck Liddell's fighting life
Chuck Liddell discussed his memoir Iceman, My Fighting Life, disputed Tito Ortiz's version of their feud, recalled an impromptu hotel-lobby fight, and said he wanted a future title shot.
Post-wedding blues
A newlywed's email and Amber's calls sparked a debate over whether post-wedding depression comes from unrealistic expectations, loneliness, or losing the attention and purpose created by planning the ceremony.
Lost theory frenzy
The crew and callers dissected Kate raising Claire's baby Aaron, the Oceanic Six cover story, who stayed on the island, and theories that Locke was in the coffin and Michael was Ben's spy.
Castro's grilled cheese
Barbara Walters recalled Fidel Castro making her a late-night grilled cheese, prompting the hosts to doubt its greatness and debate whether herb cream cheese was the real secret.
The cadaver-bone choice
Mikey preferred grafting bone from his own hip after a hypothetical hand injury, while Skye chose cadaver bone to avoid extra surgery and joked that it might confer superpowers.
Sparring with Muhammad Ali
T-Rex said he shadowboxed Muhammad Ali for five minutes at a 1984 party and still owned a photograph of Ali firing a lightning-fast combination toward him.
Mikey's recovery testimony
Mikey said alcoholism convinced him in 2004 that he would die young, and he credited asking Jesus Christ into his life with beginning his recovery and giving him hope.

Welcome to the show, everybody. It is 6.05. Jennifer Lopez gave birth to twins just after midnight last night. A blockbuster trade in the NBA yesterday. Cleveland traded half their team and got Ben Wallace from the Bulls in an 11-player deal. So, hey, Boston, Rob. Yo. Do you have a Sharpie in there? Do you have a black Sharpie in there? No. Oh, Ashley does. We got a new spot on the board to mark for... My microphone spot. It's very different now that we have these new mics rocking. We're still trying to get the situation with Eddie's mic and Sky's mic all worked out, and hopefully we will very soon. We got a new spot. That's a new... I don't know how you'll let yourself know that that's the one, but it's our singer-songwriter right there. Welcome to the program. My name's Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 37 years old, and I got on the long...
I always forget what it's called. The Long Johns. The Long Johns. I got on the Long Johns today because it was a little bit chilly outside and it's raining. I don't get it, man. Have they been saying rain or is this one of those situations where they didn't say it and they don't know anything and all of a sudden it just started? No. No, they've been saying it. Yeah, three storms back to back, you know, starting earlier. The first one or the third one? This is the second one. The ninth one, which is weird. This is the second one. It feels like we've gotten way more rain than we normally do. Yeah, but no, not according to the rain totals. Really? Yeah. So, and then the third storm, we're supposed to get a little break tomorrow, and then the third storm moving in on Sunday. Really? Yeah, if, you know, but if that holds up their predictions. They don't know anything, though. Yeah, who knows? It's always a gamble. That's a deal. They don't know anything. Just guessing. Well, welcome to the program, Every Boo Bah. Our phone number is 570-1053, and you can call at the beginning and end of every show. It's open phones. So anything you want, you can call in about. And we don't restrict you to what you can talk about. You can ask anything. You can talk about anything. Whatever you want.
Uh, so I'm the host of the show. I'm 37. Uh, there's nothing really very interesting going on. I didn't go to my writing class yesterday. Oh, because I was so tired from the third day show that I wanted to go home and just sleep. And so that's what I did. I didn't, I didn't end up going to the writing class and I was, uh, you know, kind of bummed out about it. I really wanted to participate, but I guess I'll be back next time. Uh, No, really nothing else is going on with me. Anything going on with you, Eddie? Not really. I'm not speaking to Sky today. Really? No. Why? Shut up. Well, last night's Lost was one of the crazier episodes ever, and she didn't watch it, and I'm not speaking to you. Sky, what happened? Why didn't you watch? I had a busy day yesterday. I wasn't able to get a nap, so I wasn't able to make it to 9 o'clock last night. What was going on yesterday? No. I was busy. Don't talk.
I was busy. Get out of my face. I was busy. I know that you guys have been having a little bit of this going on because, Sky, you really wanted Eddie to have viewed Big Brother so you guys could talk about that. I watched American Idol, the number one show in the country. Well, I watched both of them. I don't know how. It's called TiVo, dude. Okay. And I didn't hold that against you. Yes, you did. I did not speak to you. I mean, I was a little disappointed. Big Brother's not as big as Lost. I was a little disappointed. You know Big Brother doesn't compare to Lost. Well, that's true, but still. It's okay. Give a friend a break. No, I will not. They're TV friends, man. Whatever, dude. They want to discuss. This is the water cooler. We got to talk about it. That's right. That starts to a fun day Friday, Mike. What? My life is changing so much. I was thinking about this exact thing last night. I was in my bathroom, you know, taking off my makeup, you know, and doing the whole thing. Putting on the toner. Exactly. Putting the toner on. I was thinking about this exact thing of like, I have not watched actual television in a really long time. And, you know, mostly it comes down to every single, like my wife gave me some homework last night. Six o'clock at night, I was, you know, furiously doing stuff on the computer in my office. And she comes in and she says, did you get that email that I wrote you about this homework thing? And I went, yeah, I did.
And she said, can you open that up so I can show you how that works? And I said, can we make an appointment with each other tomorrow? Call my secretary. Yeah, because I have something going on right after the show today. And I probably won't be home until about 2. And I'll be dead tired then, but won't be able to take a nap. And we'll need to go over this homework thing. But she won't be available. And then we're both leaving the house at like 20 to, you know, like 5.40 tonight. We're both, we both got to go somewhere for a couple minutes. And so we're, she's very busy and I'm very busy. So this whole concept of television, she can fit it in because by 7 o'clock at night, 8 o'clock at night, she's ready to like chill out and what's going on with TV, right?
When I wake up now at 10, 11 o'clock and she's watching TV, it's the middle of the night for me now at 10 o'clock at night. 11 o'clock at night is now the middle of the night. And I'll look at the clock at 10 o'clock at night. When I wake up, I'll look at my little alarm clock and I'll go, oh, four more hours of sleep. Yeah. And I'll wake up at 1 o'clock in the morning and look at the clock and go, okay, I got to go right back to sleep because I only got an hour more. So, you know, all of these things that I'm doing, which are so good and positive and awesome, my TV time's gone. I don't get any more TV. So I'm trying to, you know what it may be, the answer to it may be weekends, but, you know, but then I'm missing the talking about it during the week. But you guys are good, man. You guys know what's up. And I actually really have fun. asking you, so what was good last night? Because Eddie's a pretty good gauge of what happened and what was good, and he always gives me funny clips to listen to. Or that, or interesting, because last night on American Idol, didn't they kick a couple of people out of there? Two guys, two girls. Wow.
And did you guys like any of them, or were you in agreement? You know, when I looked at, because I watched Survivor instead of watching the Idol results, because I could care less right now. Right. But when I looked and saw who got kicked out, I only recognized one name. I'm like, who are these people? Yeah. Who cares? And then I looked it up, and I saw one of the guys was the Leif Garrett-looking kid. He was kicked out. Black girl got kicked out. And then the kid who looked like Ellen DeGeneres got kicked out. Whatever. I heard that's why he got kicked out. Oh, well, yeah. He looked like Ellen. That happens. Did you guys think that, or did you even really have an opinion as to whether or not these people could go? No, I mean, they were terrible. Yeah, they deserved to go. You get those, you know, in the top 24, you get, you know, immediately you see, like, there's about... six people that you go, oh, well, why are they even in the top 24? So there's probably four or five more that guys like that. There's one guy, I don't know how he didn't get kicked out. He kind of looks like Luke Perry a little bit. I'm like, how did that dude get kicked out? He was terrible. Well, because he's more attractive than the other guy, so he gets America's vote. We really, yeah, we like attractive in America. It's part of our deal. You know, it's funny, too, because in other countries, they don't care as much as we do. Ugly's kind of like normal there.
foreigners are usually pretty ugly well that's the thing I mean even as I say that I'm thinking to myself well that's my version of ugly because I've been trained to think what's good looking in other countries like in Spain and Italy and stuff when you see people on TV we as Americans we go ooh That's unfortunate. Well, that's not true all the time because the Mexican stations, they always got like smoking hot. They do. They do. And I'll tell you, I think that Mexican TV is a little bit more like us. But you go and watch in like European TV and sometimes you'll go, uh-oh. But that's only because that's what we think is good looking. I wonder what they think when they see the... Straight teeth. Yeah. Right? Ew. Ew, the straight and the like white. What's up with the white teeth? And the good looks. So weird. Skye's our news girl and she's 30 years old. Skye, you got anything going on? No, just was busy yesterday. Did my taxes. Got that done. So that's like a good feeling. Do you do them on the computer or do you do them like by hand or do you take them somewhere to get them done? No, I have our friend in Texas. Koozie? See, we're not ready.
We're still waiting for stuff. Yeah, I wrote him an email yesterday. We're doing it on Tuesday. Yeah. Yeah, and surprisingly, we did it, like, in one shot, like, over, like, a little bit over an hour. That never happens. That's impossible. Normally, he goes, I'll call you back in 10 minutes. You hear from him. Oh, so then you changed tax, guys. No, no, it was koozie. You didn't speak to the right person. No, I did. You couldn't have used koozie. No, I did. He doesn't ever do it in one shot. It was crazy. You actually heard his voice. He doesn't do it once? Dude, he. Oh, dude. Yeah, he'll be like, oh, I'll call you back in 10 minutes. You'll hear from him three days later. To me, he's the greatest accountant I've ever had. But getting him, because he's got so many people constantly taking phone calls while you're on the phone with him. It was pretty impressive. I was shocked. I was ready for a week-long thing. It took a little over an hour. That's not bad. No, not at all. Normally, it takes a couple days of phone tag and figuring out. That was cool. He'd do you good? Yeah, yeah. We got a little refund this year, which is nice. Not to, you know, owe money or anything. That's always good. Word up. Yeah. And then we went and bought a whole bunch of plants yesterday. Spent about two hours at a nursery, which was, you know, really exciting and fun. Yeah, oddly, that does sound exciting to me. To you, yeah. But after a while of my, you know, my husband, I was, you know, getting the Home Depot syndrome towards the end. And I was like, get me out of here. Let's see. Shawnee, oh boy, is our sound effects man.
He's the man with the plan. Who's the man? Shawnee is. I have a couple of plans. Uh-oh. That's not good. He's turning 38 pretty soon, so obviously the nerves are nervous about it. Yeah, a little bit. Shawnee, what is new? Anything? No, not right. Speaking of taxes, my wife has this program called Neat Receipts. And so now when we go to our tax guy, it only takes like 15 minutes and we're out of there. Wow. And we get this great refund. I want to try neat receipts. It's a way of organizing your receipts. It's so fantastic. That's cool. And then you have it for the IRS if they ever want to check you out, right? Yeah, exactly. And when you're preparing to go to your tax person, it gives you all these printouts. So instead of taking like receipts and papers and all this stuff. You have like a little teeny binder of like maybe five, ten pieces of paper, and that's it. That's all you take. Do you scan the receipts? Yeah, like the receipts get scanned into the computer, and the computer automatically recognizes where it's from and what the amount is. And the more you scan, the faster it gets and more accurate it gets at recognizing like who, you know, the businesses are and the amounts. Oh, dude. It's amazing. Send me the link to that, will you?
I will. Yeah, I want to use that. It's not that expensive either. And tell everybody listening what it's called again. It's called Neat Receipts. There you go. Sounds neat. Ashley is our assistant producer. She is a young woman. She's only 24 years old, and she loves to bake. She really loves to bake. Yeah, I do. That's true. And she baked some stuff this morning, and it looked like it was, you know. I don't know. It didn't look like it went over that great. Well, it was a hit and miss. She made like a cake that was very delicious. It was moist and wonderful. But it tastes like spice though, huh? It's a spice cake. I wouldn't call it carrot cake. And then she had an unfortunate cookie. I tried a new recipe. It didn't work, but you know, hey. I like it. A for effort. Yeah, Rob said that he ate four of them. Do you want to know what happened with that? What happened, Ash? Like, yesterday I was making a...
It says carrot on the box, but I guess it tastes more like spice. I agree. So I was making this Betty Crocker carrot cake, right? Mm-hmm. So I was going to do the no-cholesterol recipe, so I went on to BettyCrocker.com to check out that recipe. But then I was like, ah, screw it, because I was like, you know, that'll probably irritate Eddie, so I was going to just make it normal. Because you know how I really care what Eddie thinks in my baking. Mm-hmm. So, but while I was on there, I was like, saw chocolate chip cookie recipes. I was like, I'm going to check these out. Let's see if I can find a new one. Mm-hmm. So I found a new one and like it had rave reviews. And so I'm like, oh, why not? You know, for fun, I'll just whip up some cookies. Tried it out. It's a new recipe. And I don't know. I want to encourage you, Ashley, to not read into. Eddie violently throwing the cookie into the trash. No, I tripped. I fully read into it. I tripped. I fully read into it. It fell out of my hand. I tripped, you guys. I tripped. It fell into the garbage. It was an accident. I feel terrible about it. Don't analyze it. It happens. It was actually Sky that violently threw the cookie into the garbage can. Don't analyze that either. No, I did. I was eating into it all morning. Don't.
Okay, great. Boston Rob is our singer-songwriter slash phone screener. He likes my cookies. I love them. He's poor and doesn't eat. He's starving. It's like a guy in the Andes just ate flesh, so he's actually really stoked for that cookie. Mike, why don't you try one? Which isn't that bad, to be honest. I'll do the cutting. Gross. You try one, Mike. Boston Rob, is anything new going on with you? Mm-mm, nothing. No. All right. And finally, Zeth, he's 22. What? Zeth's 22. He's the seventh member of the Mikey Show. And phone lines are open for you, 5701053. We got two people in the studio, P1 Rima and also P1 Jason. And they won P1 Trivia. Actually, it was Rima that won, but Jason got to come in, too, because he did really well. And I need you guys to talk directly into that microphone, okay, whenever we talk to you. Right into that microphone. I got to say, that was a bit of an upset. I mean, Jason comes to every one of our appearances. Yeah. He's got a video on M-Tube. Yeah. I mean, he's a huge P1. I'm surprised you didn't kill it. Me too. Well, I screwed up with the cat question. I just wasn't thinking. I said Skye and Mikey had seven cats totally, and it was actually four. It was a mistake. Did you do the video of the catch a predator? Correct. I just recognized the guy.
He's a pedophile. Yeah, well, no. He's not. I saw the video. I saw the video. Chris Hansen. He's pretending to be a Mikey Show listener. That's what he's doing. He's doing a thing. Where it's supposed to look like that. Oh, sorry, Jason. My bad. And you guys caught me. I'm here. There you go. And it says, Jason, that you work at a retirement community as an activity driver. So you drive the old folks around when they're doing stuff. Of course he does. That's correct. That's cool, man. Sweetest boy in the world. It is, man. I think that... You want to hear something crazy about that, man? So... You know how people have their certain soft spots for stuff. Like Skye, it's animals. She loves animals. She really cares for animals, and she's got a soft heart for them. Ashley's kind of the same way. I got this thing about seniors. I got this real soft spot in my heart for seniors. So my mom is talking to me the other day, and she says the craziest thing ever. What? She goes,
I think we were talking about religion or something. And I think it was, I'm not sure about the first part. I'm positive about the second part of what she said. But the first part was something like, yeah, you know, I know that God is working on me or something to that effect, I think. Okay. But the second part of what she said, I know for sure. I used to really not like old people at all. In fact, when I see them, I'm bothered by them and they really, you know, I don't like them and they annoy me. But now, and I was like, my jaw dropped open. I was like, I've never heard of that. I've never in my life. I thought everybody had a basic, like, aw. And then some people had more of a sensitivity for them or whatever. I didn't know people were actually turned off by them, but it makes sense because some people don't like kids. People are very uncomfortable around old people. You are? I'm not. Oh, you're not? No, but I know a lot of people that are. Really? Oh, yeah. They won't go into old folks' homes or hospitals and stuff like that because they're afraid of...
Old people. Oh, they're afraid of them. Yeah. Yeah, it could be the same with kids, you know, because you guys know me. Like, Eddie's awesome with kids. Kids love him. He loves kids. I am like, eh, not so much. And I think the kids kind of get that, you know. And so, yeah, I guess it makes sense, right? And Rima's 23, and she actually was the winner of P1 Trivia. She's been listening. Two and a half years you've been listening. Yep. 23 years old. Awesome. And you do account management for a print company. Yep. Is that fun? It can be. Yeah. Whoa, check this out. What? She's in a barbershop chorus. Get out of here. Okay, now that means not like a barbershop quartet. You have quartets within the chorus. Right. Just that are organized amongst themselves. What part do you do? I sing a lead. So it's what you would consider an alto or soprano. Really? Ah, yes. That's kind of cool. That's crazy. Yeah, it's great. Would it make any sense if you did some of that right now, or do you have to have... I was thinking about that, and it kind of wouldn't, because... You have to have that? You kind of have to...
Time to... There you go. We need Sean to do that part. That's right. Do it. Let's take some phone calls. P1 Matt. Matt. Matt. What's up, Matt? Hey, this is Matt. Yeah. I just want to comment on Hillary's pullout plan for Iraq, 90 days. That's not going to work, Mikey. Hillary doesn't have a 90-day plan to pull out the troops. Stumped him. Hello? I think it was a cell phone thing. Matt, are you there? No. Must be the rain. Hillary doesn't have a plan to pull them out in 90 days. That's what's kind of, you know, Eddie kind of alluded to this the other day. That's what's kind of goofy about Hillary's deal. Barack says, flat out, 15 months, I'm bringing him home. What Hillary says is, I'm going to take 90 days to try to figure this thing out. That's what she says. She doesn't go,
I'm going to bring the troops home in 90 days. She says that I'm going to take 90 days to formulate a plan. That's what she said. And that's very different. But it is not like, oh, three months after she's elected. It doesn't mean that in March of 2009, you're going to be hugging your brother. It's not easy. It's not easy. Well, that's what I've heard. Did you guys watch any of that last night? Yeah. Debates? I did, yeah. Had it on in the background while we were having dinner. And I said to my wife, I go, you know what's really funny that I noticed about debates, it doesn't matter who it is, Republicans, Democrats, whatever, is that in debates, you can almost add the words, unlike my opponent, after every sentence. It's the overall vibe that you get from them. Like, when Barack says, I truly care about my country, unlike my opponent. You could almost add that before or after every single thing that they say. You know what I mean? That's what they're alluding to. It kind of feels that way, doesn't it? Oh, definitely. Doesn't it feel that way? You know?
I think. Oh, no. Hillary. It's important to bring home the troops. You're yelling, Hillary. Unlike my opponent. Oh, gosh. That's what it kind of feels like. That guy, Barack, man, he says change every other word. That's true. He's really into that change stuff. Tripped me out last night. That's right. He really does say it a lot. He wants to make a change. Yes, he does. He really likes loose change. Every kind of change. All about change. That's right. P1Hugh. Yeah, what's going on this morning, Mikey? Not too much, dude. What's up? Not too much, man. I'm just one of the sailors in San Diego here, and I'm sitting back looking at all this debate on TV and all that stuff, man. It's to the point where I just want to know who I need to vote for. I mean, I want to vote for one single guy, but they're pretty much all saying the same thing, man, trying to just win over the vote. I want somebody that's actually going to do something in America this time, not just get up there and be like, hey, I'm the man. Well, the Republicans are saying something real different than the Democrats. Yeah, they're way different. They're very different in what they think, but right now there is only one person in the Republican Party, and it's John McCain. John McCain's going to get it. That's what I'm thinking, man. Well, he's going to. And then for the Democrats right now, I guess you could still call it a race, even though Obama looks like he's the dude.
Obama really hasn't shown me much. Hillary, you know, she's just riding on coattails. That's all she's trying to do. What are you, bro? You vote Republican or Democrat usually? You know, every time that we had a Republican president in power and every time we've had a Democrat in power, every time we've had a Republican, I've gotten a raise every year on January 1st. Really? Every time we're a Democrat, we get a pay cut. So what do you think? You're Republican. Exactly. There you go. I mean... That's how it happens, man. You vote with your pocketbook a lot of the time, you know? You really do. I mean, you really do. I mean, people really don't sit back and think about it. They try and listen to the message, but then when it really comes down to it, they vote with their back pocket. All right, dude. Hey, listen, I appreciate the phone call. Yeah, no problem, brother. P1 Tom Brady. Go ahead, Eddie. Well, I'm just curious why that irritated Sky. Yes, Sky. Why did that irritate you? If that's what's important to him, why can't he vote like that? Well, I guess, but I mean, you know, as... At least for me, there's a lot more going on than my pocketbook. You know, yes, of course, you know, your pocketbook matters. But at the same time, there are so many huge issues. You could say that because you live comfortably. And I would assume him being in the military that the war would be a big issue to him. And those kind of things would matter. But it's his pocketbook that matters. Right, because he doesn't have a lot. Who says? He works in the military.
So that doesn't mean he doesn't have a lot. He doesn't make a lot of money. You don't know his background. You don't know if he came from wealth. You're jumping to conclusions. And so are you. But isn't it OK for him to say, hey, listen, I get a raise. Hey, this is America. We can all vote how we want. It just it is frustrating to me when I feel people aren't taking other issues into consideration, you know, when they're only taking their pocketbook into consideration. And it frustrates me. But, hey, this is America. You have your right to vote however you want. And I don't think it makes me a jerk because I wish people would consider a lot more than just their pocketbook. Oh, I do, too. I feel that way, too. I feel that people should consider a lot more than just what's happening with a pocketbook. So I'm not, you know, judging this guy or whatever, you know, but I don't think I should be attacked by that frustrating me. Yeah. My son is, you guys know that my son is 17 months old. He's running for president of the United States. How's that going, by the way? Yeah, I haven't heard much about him. We haven't updated his MySpace page.
But I have some pretty bad news. No. What? He's dropping out of the race. No. Why? Because he knows that he's not going to get, you know, he doesn't have one delegate. You know, he hasn't won. He hasn't won one delegate. And so he knows he doesn't have a chance. That's tough. So he was, we were talking about it last night. I said, well, what about an endorsement? Because I don't know if I told you guys, he's a Democrat. I'm a Republican. My son's a Democrat, which is really disappointing to me. Well, you know, yeah. But the beauty of it is that he's extraordinarily passionate and intelligent when it comes to the Democratic Party. He knows the party very well. That's true. And he believes in bringing the troops home. He believes – at this point, he's very young. He believes in all of the things that the Democrats essentially believe in. And so I said, what about an endorsement? He said, I have studied this for hour upon hour. And I said, so who is it? He said, Hillary Clinton. Really? Yes. He said, if you are a Democrat, you should vote for Hillary Clinton. Why does Jake feel that way? Well, he believes that she really has the experience in the Senate. Oh, that argument, yeah. And he believes that she really has the best chance of winning the general. Well, that's not... She gets in there. He is the baby. And so I just want to let all my listeners know that if they are Democrats...
If they are Democrats, vote for Hillary. Vote for Hillary. According to baby Jake. And how old is he again? 17 months old. Okay. He is the baby. That's right. That's right. Oh, why are you doing that? What are you doing, weirdo? Let's go back to Tom Brady now. Tom Brady's on the line. P1, Tom Brady, are you there? Yes, I am, Mikey. How are you? I'm good. What's happening, Tom Brady? What's happening? Tom Brady, why do you sound this way? Oh, well, because I've been practicing throwing my balls at a picture of B-Rob. Is that right? Yes, I'm still waiting to do it. Well, there you go. He's practicing throwing... Why does he sound like the Jack in the Box from the Island of Misfit Toys? Yeah, why do you sound like the Jack in the Box from the Island of Misfit Toys? Oh, well, maybe because he's my long block. That's awesome. Wow, that was weird. He didn't really have that planned out. He won Luds. Yeah, I just wanted to know if you guys knew why Barack won't wear an American flag pin. So you're saying Barack refuses to wear an American flag pin. What I heard. I see. Did you hear that from they.com? From where? Did you hear it from they.com? No. Okay, because I know they've been saying that. Go ahead. I was just wondering if you knew why. No, I don't. Okay, so let me see. I just found a story.
Says he doesn't wear the American flag lapel pin because it has become a substitute for true patriotism. Patriotism, I'm sorry. Well said. Thank you. Stopped wearing the pin shortly after the 9-11 attacks. Instead, he shows his patriotism by explaining his ideas to citizens. Weird. He doesn't want to wear an American flag pin? Yeah, he stopped wearing it because he says, you know, yeah. He says what? Well, it's an excuse for patriotism. You need to get out there and act and actually do things to show you're a patriot and not just wear a pin. But can't you do both? That's a great question, Eddie. I would think so, right? I would think that you could do both. That is a far out question. A strange thing. Who knew? 570.
1053 is our phone number. We have a lot of very cool things on the show today. Rainn Wilson is going to be joining us here on the show. That's fantastic. Love it. He's the guy that plays Dwight on The Office. Yes, he does. I don't believe you. Continue. And so he will be on our airwaves coming up in just a little bit. Also, if you have not heard Boston Rob's new song, The... Barack Obama song. We're going to play that. That's coming up. Boston Rob, of course, supports Barack because he saw his name written on the sidewalk in blue chalk. How does it feel for Rob that it's not there now because of the rain? Yeah, Rob, does that bum you out?
Change your opinion? Yeah, does it bum you out that that Barack sign written in chalk on the sidewalk has probably been washed away by the rain? That might have an effect. Yeah. We'll see. Once the rain is gone, who can get their name out there first? That's right. Now it's a race to that sidewalk. Get a Ron Paul song coming up. That's right. Plus, UFC superstar Chuck Liddell. Talk about it. Iceman. On the show today. He will be with us. And all kinds of stuff. Oh, something called the Dumb Chick Challenge. Yes, guys. So that will be very nice. And it's going to be good. Your Toyota dealer. Hey, is this Todd? Todd wrote me an email. Tell everybody what you wrote me in the email. Mikey, I bought a Simmons B.S. Cunningham pillow top over at Sleep Train two weeks ago. It was just an amazing experience. And I even knew I was in there at the Mikey show. And then I used the Ace card and said, oh, Mikey told me to come in. And I got an additional 10. And all in all, I saved 20% on the mattress. And I bought it at Mission Valley at 11 o'clock. They had it delivered and installed in Chula Vista by 2.30 on the same day. That's rad. And what's even more amazing, since it was a Cunningham pillow top, it was personally delivered by Richie Cunningham and Patsy Weber. It was just an amazing experience. That's awesome. Hey, how do you like sleeping on it? It's amazing. I've never had any problems sleeping before, but with the new mattress, it's even better.
It's completely amazing. I would recommend Sleep Train to all the P1s out there. And Richie Cunningham and Potsy Weber delivered it. Absolutely. You can definitely meet Richie and Potsy if you get the Cunningham pillow top. There you go. That's beautiful. Hey, dude, I appreciate it. Thank you for calling. Thanks, Mikey. We'll see you. And now another moment from the Mikey Show. Do you remember that time, boss, that me and you took a vacation together in Belize because we were both going to the breakups? I looked over at the bars and I said, in my balls, look into my eyes. Yes, it's coming back. And you will see... That's enough. Yeah, that was it. Yes, I remember, yes. And then you farted. That is true. That'll be like when Boston Rob wins that dream home on HGTV. I mean, that would... That's not funny.
I'm just saying. He deserves it. He deserves it. Thank you for the reminder. No, it ended February 19th, dude. I thought it was the 28th. That's all right. I'm in there. The 28th is when that thing ends, Rob? 19th. Is that what you're saying? It was the 19th. I'll double check. We'll double check and they'll say, oh, sorry, too late. Well, actually, all P1s should double check. Well, go ahead because it's too late, all of you. Sky, when are they giving that house away? I don't know. Normally a month after they stop the entries. We say it every year. Sky keeps it so secretive that the dream home is back on HGTV. She keeps it a secret, right? If she doesn't tell anyone, no one will know. That's right. And then somehow she slips. Because they don't advertise it. Every year she slips and she mentions. This year was not my fault. This year was this guy right here. That's right, Rob. This Robbie Shades. And every year from now on. Whatever. Hey, if I win, you rent one week, I'll give you one week free. We'll do it like that. Oh, two for one?
It's a bargain, Scott. It's a great deal. See me after the show. We'll talk. What a good deal. You're the worst. Write it up. It is 645. Some Carlsbad residents are upset after the city council approved $2 million to build a shelter for migrant workers. Lefty is done. Phil Mickelson out at the Match Play Championship. Tiger moves on. All right. If you would like... You can go to MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. We've made the website so much easier for you to use in terms of finding stuff. It used to be that you had to kind of search around, and you don't have to do that anymore. For instance, if you want to see the pictures of third day performing, all you do is go to MikeyShow.com, type in the keyword third day, boom, there it is. If you want to see the five different videos that are up right now for consideration of the best video on M-Tube, Just click on keyword and type in the word finals and it'll take you right to them. You watch them and then you vote on which one is your favorite. It's a pretty easy concept and we hope people start doing it because it is pretty cool. So Obama and Hillary debated last night. Sky, did you find any moments particularly interesting during that debate?
Yeah, I liked the one where Obama was talking about Hillary's let's get real slogan. Do we have a clip of that? Well, we got where he responds to the plagiarism, you know, where she was saying that he was ripping off other people's speeches. I don't see the thing about, I don't see the thing about where, but. Oh, it's, yeah, it's cut 69. Go ahead, Sean. Senator Clinton of late has said, let's get real. And the implication is that the people who've been voting for me or involved in my campaign are somehow delusional. And that the 20 million people who've been paying attention to 19 debates... And the editorial boards all across the country had newspapers who've given me endorsements, including every major newspaper here in the state of Texas. You know, the thinking is that somehow they're being duped. Oh, man, that's got to be frustrating for her. That's so good. That's got to be frustrating. Oh, she's got to get so mad about that. Oh, come on. Here it is. Rainn Wilson. Rainn, are you there?
I am here. Very nice to speak with you. Oh, nice to speak with you. Good morning, San Diego. Good morning. We've had Rain on before. He's a nice guy, and he plays one of our favorite characters on the TV show. Oh, I forgot to say, I'm not a nice guy anymore. Oh, good. You know what? Finally. I'm a star now, so... I did not see that. My last radio tour with you guys, I was so sweet. Now I'm like, dated, whatever. Now you are in a movie that is nominated for Best Picture. What do you think about that? Excuse us. Yeah, I have four lines as a convenience store clerk. And one of the biggest box office phenomenons of all time, Juno. Yeah, yeah. It's pretty crazy. No, Jason Reitman, who is the director, is a buddy of mine. And I were in shot one day just kind of as a favor. And who would have known that Juno would have been like this international sensation? So because you only have four lines, does he say, come up here, we'll do it in a day, and you'll be out of here in a day? Now, did you, but even though you only had four lines, do you still go, yeah, cool, but can I still read the script? Yeah, no, I read the script, yeah, absolutely. I read the script, and I wasn't really right for any of the other parts, and it's fun to be a part of it. I really like the script a lot, and I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't responded to the material, so.
It's one of those movies where when you see the trailer, you instantly go, that looks really good. You know, it's funny, Rain, because when you're in the movie theater and you're watching trailers, it's a very natural thing when a trailer ends, you look at other people and they're kind of nudging each other going, we got a sad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get that reaction. That was definitely one of them. So the writer's strike is over. So when are we going to see The Office back? We will be back. Soon, man, March 10th, we're going to start filming six more episodes, and they'll start airing in April. Nice. That's cool. So we're all psyched. It's fantastic. So what'd you do during the strike? What were you up to? Well, I'm doing this thing tomorrow. I'm hosting this award show, and it's kept me pretty busy, actually. It's going to be like a little side job, but this Independent Spirit Awards.
that airs tomorrow. We've shot a lot of comedy sketches and stuff like that, so just been doing that and spending time with the family. Okay, so Rain, what was the best movie that you saw last year? If you have to take Juno out of it, because you were in it, if you have to take Juno out of it, what did you like the most? Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Oh, it's a movie that I've never heard of before, but Eddie's shaking, my producer's shaking his head yes. Well, the director's nominated for it. You know how Transformers were like their robots that turn into cars and stuff like that? Yeah. Right? Yeah. Well, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is about a paralyzed guy in France that can only communicate by blinking his left eyelid. Very similar. Yes. I see the correlation. And it's got a very similar audience. You should check it out. Yeah. Sounds like it. I want to see it. I want to see it. It's a really great movie. Everyone's got to see Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Just trust me. Just go, and it will move you beyond words. It's so beautiful. We're talking to Rainn Wilson, and he plays Dwight on The Office, and he also plays a convenience store clerk in the movie Juno. Oh, thank you. How do you like that? Let's see. Now, this character, Dwight, is weird. Yes, thanks for noticing. He is a strange guy. Oh, my. Yes. He's very perceptive.
Rain, do you consider yourself weird? I'm quirky. I guess I'm offbeat. I'm a little bit neurotic, but no, I'm a pretty normal guy. Do you actually write the blog that, you know, Schrute Space? I actually do write the blog. Wow. Cool. So you're able to sort of channel the character and do that. I have a lot of downtime on the set, and that's a good way to pass the time when I'm sitting there pretending to be working on my Dunder Mifflin computer. Well, what's kind of cool about the different people that work on that show is that some of them are writers, too, and they're on the show, and so I think it's kind of cool how you guys really interact with the character. Yeah, yeah. Who is a person that you like to hang out with? Who do you buddy up with? On the, you know, off camera? The guy who does the craft services. Yeah. And so I figured. You mean Josh. Yeah. Yeah, you must mean Josh. You know, everybody gets along. We all have a great time. I play tennis a lot with Brian Baumgartner, who plays Big Kevin, the accountant. Really? Nice. And who wins? He's a monster tennis player. Really? He was like on the tennis team in high school and stuff like that. Oh, I like it. He's pretty sick as a tennis player.
He usually kicks my butt. One last question, Rainn, before we go. The fans of the TV show The Office are pretty fanatical. Have you had any bizarre encounters with fans? Bizarre encounters with fans? I've been stalked before. Like, small-scale stalking where I'll notice some dweeby guys or dweeby teenage girls following me around. going shopping or something like that. And then they kind of like surreptitiously line up so that they can like my autograph or something like that. But nothing too weird. Okay. Sorry, I don't have any good stories about that. Rain, where can we catch the Spirit Awards? You can catch them on the Independent Film Channel. It's live at that highly coveted 2 p.m. Saturday time slot. Oh, wow. I'm going to have to move things around on my TiVo. Tomorrow afternoon is the Independent Spirit Awards, and then they rebroadcast it on AMC at night, although you will not see my butt. It'll be pixelated on the AMC rebroadcast, but you'll definitely see it on the IFC. Oh, well, that's worth tuning in. Why would we see your butt? Yeah. Well, because I'm not going to tell. All right. Fair enough. We did a lot of comedy segments and sketch comedy stuff, and I got a pretty funny monologue, and it should be a good time.
celebrates the best in independent cinema. I think you lied. I don't think you're mean. I think you still sound nice. Take that. Take that. Take that. You just bring out the nice guy in me. That's right. Rainn Wilson plays Dwight Schrute on The Office, and you should watch it because it's a hilarious show. And thank you very much for coming on, Rainn. Hey, thanks for having me. All right, man. We'll see you. It's such a bummer that next he's got to go to Dusty and Busty in Wyoming or whatever, and they're probably... He's doing these radio tours, you know? Yeah. And so they end up having to put up with some pretty bad radio sometimes. And so it's cool to just hear him be a normal guy. So what does Dwight think about Pabba Jim? It's crazy. Did I mention Chuck Liddell is going to be on the show today? Speaking of UFC, you guys know San Diego's own war machine, right? Yeah. War Machine was in court yesterday. Oh. For assault. Oh, well. And he was sentenced. Really? And so I will tell you what that was all about when we come back. Homes that have AT&T's U-verse TV have discovered a problem. Just lots of rain along these freeways keeping things tough out of the East County into the city. 805 northbound, particularly heavy this morning out of the South Bay from Chula Vista, crawling solid all the way up into Golden Triangle. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock, 105.3. Oh, say it, don't spread it. I was listening to you guys this morning talking about politics and stuff like that, and I was just thinking, I mean, seriously, like, how ridiculous would it be if, like, Barack actually won? I mean, we would look totally asinine to other countries, like, we have, like, Lionel Richie, you know what I mean? He's our president. Wait! He's very powerful, you know, and he looks like an American. If McCain looks like an American... Rock 105.3. Here's 7.10. The Poo Fighters have filed a lawsuit against Marvel Comics for using their songs in a trailer for Wolverine. The New England Patriots have decided to not franchise tag Randy Moss. Chuck Liddell still coming up on the Mikey Show from the UFC.
And don't forget, if you want to read what we are thinking about, then all you need to do is go to MikeyShow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com. And in the keyword section, type in blogs. And it will take you right to our blog section, and you can check it out and see what's going on. Blockbuster trade in the NBA. Cleveland. Well, Cleveland traded half their team yesterday, which was pretty crazy. They just decided that LeBron James needs some help. And the team that they had really wasn't good enough to win the championship. So more power to them. They went out there and got Ben Wallace from the Bulls. They got Wally Zerbiak from the Supersonics. He just made a bunch of different moves. Why is Rob real excited? Is he a Cavalier fan? Are you a Cavalier fan?
Wally and Delonte, they're old Celtics. There is somehow a Boston connection. Somehow. Well, I know one of those dudes bought a dog from a kennel in Boston. Well, anyway, so that's a real big deal. And you know what I'm wondering about that is LeBron James... Do you think, Eddie, that they go to LeBron James and say, what do you think about this, before they pull the trigger? Absolutely, 100%, yes. Yeah? Well, he is their team. I mean, he basically got to the NBA Finals last year by himself. I mean, he doesn't have a lot of players around him. So, you know, I'm sure they asked him, like, dude, what do you want? What do you need? Right. And, you know, he probably named a couple names, and they went on there and made the moves. I'm telling you, man. People's psychology, I think, has so much to do with stuff. You've got to check psychology before you go doing stuff. I think that that's a mistake sometimes in baseball is they just do stuff, and they don't take into consideration, well, I wonder how this guy's going to be in the clubhouse. They just make moves. I mean, maybe they talk to people, but I'm telling you, man, that's a big deal. Valerie Bertinelli has written a book.
As a matter of fact, Eddie says that she might be a guest on the show coming up. Right, Eddie? Yeah, I'm looking on it. And she's written this book. And in the book, she's talking to Oprah Winfrey. And I guess in the book, is this right, Sky? She talks about cheating on Eddie Van Halen? Yes. Holy Toledo, man. Yeah, so she just taped the episode with Oprah, which is going to air next week. And she does admit that, yeah, she wasn't always faithful to Eddie Van Halen, that she did cheat. Now, she says there was cheating on both sides. Eddie claims that she cheated first, but she doubts that. She says she doesn't know the exact timeline of who cheated first, but she doesn't. Very important. Yeah, it doesn't really matter. Yes, very important to know. Yeah. Who did? But that's pretty scandalous. That's crazy! Her book is called Losing It and Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time. By the way, I got this War Machine stuff coming up here in just a second. But speaking of that, you know how they were talking about Kirstie Alley was getting phased out of the Jenny Craig stuff? Valerie Bertinelli's getting phased in, right? I guess it was because of Kirstie was blowing up, getting...
you know, thinner, blowing up, getting like she couldn't consistently keep her weight at a point where Jenny Craig would want to say, yeah, that's us. Are you fat? And so they finally said, we got to do something about this. And they canned her. And I think she's starting her own company. She's going to like, now she's going to do her own weight loss company. Yeah, I read that. So anyway, War Machine is a UFC fighter. Yeah, he was on the last Ultimate Fighter reality show. And he fights from here in San Diego. What's he all about, Eddie? He's just kind of like a... You know, you can kind of tell he was kind of like a reckless kid. You know, younger guy. You know, had a rough life. Saw his dad pass away. You know, just kind of grown up on the streets type of a kid. Ash, did you like him? Yeah, I know him. You know him? Yeah. Do you know him through Spider? Yeah. What do you think of him? He dated one of my friends. So, yeah, I definitely know that he had, like, some anger issues and stuff when we met him and knew him and stuff. But he's a nice guy. When you were around him, he was a decent guy? Yeah, he was cool. But, you know, I mean, it wouldn't surprise me that he's totally got a temper. Yeah. So what happened, Skye? Well, I guess this all happened back in September. And this dude from Vegas was here working out at Undisputed Fitness and Training Center where War Machine, I guess, trains and works out at.
And this Las Vegas dude was leaving the gym and called a group of shirtless guys tough guys. And I guess that was enough to set War Machine off, who then choked him unconscious and then punched him in the face when he was on the ground. And the guy suffered facial fractures and some nerve damage. So back in December, War Machine pled guilty to felony assault. But the guy who was the victim and his attorney said, yeah, you know, we don't want to totally ruin this guy's life. So when he was sentenced yesterday, it was actually reduced to misdemeanor assault. And he was sentenced to three years probation, but told that if he violates his probation, he'll get at least a year in jail. He's a very lucky young man. Very lucky. He's a very lucky young man. That's really interesting. like sprung something in my head because two years back I used to work for a company that he fought for and um we were all like at an after party and this is like when I was drinking and stuff so I think that's probably why I forgot till just now but um
an altercation happened where he uh like i think he was kidding but it didn't look like he was kidding tried to choke me and um one of the go-go dancers got in his face but he was joking around when he did it he he was doing it in a joking manner but he he did it in a way that one of the go-go dancers thought it was serious so it didn't look that kidding around and like stopped it and like got in his face and then he ended up like They almost got physical, and this was a girl. Now, when that happened, I'm really curious about when it actually happened. When it actually happened, were you and him joking around at the time? Or was he doing it, and it was like... For me, it was like we were kind of kidding around, but I think it was more like he was doing it in a way that wasn't really funny. Well, I know what they thought, but I'm curious, how did you feel? I was drunk. So you don't remember. So I don't remember. What I remember, we were kidding around. Yeah. But they didn't take it that way in the club. No. And they're not going to. Listen, if there's a guy with his hands around somebody's neck, it's going to upset people. Yeah. It freaks people out, I think, sometimes. So Sunday's the Oscars. Wow. Sunday is the Oscars. Yep. And the movies that are nominated for Best Picture, Juno, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood,
Atonement. Am I forgetting any, Eddie? Michael Clayton. Michael Clayton. Yes, Michael Clayton. Yeah. Michael Clayton. Clayton. Ashley saw Michael Clayton. It's so good, guys. You got to see it. She says about an attorney, right? Yeah. And the attorney does stuff. Well, attorney... Slash fixer. Slash... Fixer. Wink, wink. Slash wink. I don't remember what she said. He's like a janitor. He cleans up messes. Yeah, he's a janitor. Here's Clooney on that script. Cut 43. It's really hard to find a good script. I know it. You think that'd be easy, but it isn't. It isn't. It's a great script. And you read the script and you go, this movie's got to get made. What it talks about, of course, but it's great characters, it's a well-crafted script, and it should be made into a movie. And they're not easy to get made, you know, in this day and age. So, first and foremost, we wanted to get this film made. Haven't seen it. Ashley saw it. She said that she understood it, right, Ashley? Totally, yeah. And that you enjoyed it. It was one of those movies you, like... After you're done watching it, you want to rewind it and watch it all over again. It makes me feel like I would enjoy it. You would love it, I think. You guys know who the Coen brothers are. Yep. They directed Fargo. And they've now directed this movie, No Country for Old Men. And they're talking about how the movie doesn't have a lot of dialogue in it. This is Joel Coen, cut 44. The sort of successive drafts of the script sort of seem to eliminate more and more...
Dialogue in general way. Clear your throat. We discovered as we were writing it that the less people said in the movie, the better we sort of liked the way it was feeling. Okay. Put it anyway. Eddie finally saw No Country for Old Men. I get it. That was a good scene, wasn't it? Yeah. That was a very scary scene with the guy at the counter. If you haven't seen No Country for Old Men, go see it, although Eddie hated the ending of it. Oh, it's terrible. The last 15 minutes were terrible. Mm-hmm. But there's nothing cooler than a shotgun with a silencer on it. Dude, what the heck was that? That's pretty cool. That was weird. Shotguns with silencers are very interesting for men to look at. Uh-huh. Want to hear a scene from There Will Be Blood? Oh, sure. Cut 50. You an angry man, Henry. About what? Envious? You get envious? I don't think so, no. For competition in me. I want no one else to succeed. I hate most people. But of me is gone. I think there's probably some clips we can use from that here on the Mikey Show. From time to time. Here and there. Eddie, you haven't seen that one, right? No, I really want to, though. Daniel Day-Lewis, to me, is like a whole other breed of actor. Dude, he's so good. He's crazy. You've heard Eddie do his favorite...
scene from the previews of There Will Be Blood. And when we come back, we'll hear the actual scene from the movie that Eddie does. What does he say, Eddie? I abandoned my child! So we'll do that when we come back. Don't go away. You guys make my morning so much better, I swear to God. This is The Mikey Show. I appreciate that, dude. That's very nice of you to say. Have you ever bought a new outfit, taken it home, and later realized the color doesn't look the same as it did in the store? This is Tom Shane, and the same thing can happen with the jewelry you buy. And the main reason is the lighting in the jewelry store. You see, the high-intensity lights in most other jewelry stores exaggerate the brilliance of their gemstones and distort their true colors. But at Shane Company,
we do things differently. The lighting in our showroom is engineered to reproduce true natural daylight, so you won't suddenly see a difference in the color or brilliance of our gemstones when you get home. At Shane Company, you'll see the natural beauty of our gemstones and jewelry as it really is. In every way, we want to do everything we can to help you make the most enlightened choice possible. That's right. We'll see.
So somebody wrote me an email and they were talking about meeting celebrities. And I was wondering, I thought we should open the phone lines up, the P1s. Have you ever had a run in with a celebrity? it's sort of our celebrities behaving badly segment, but it could be, you know, whatever. I mean, if it was extraordinarily good, whatever. I just wonder, have you ever had one of these situations where you've met somebody that's a celebrity and maybe it didn't turn out quite how you wanted it to be? I think that T-Rex got lucky one time. He said that he walked up to, who was it, Eddie? Troy Aikman. Troy Aikman in the men's room at the urinal. Yeah. And it turned out okay, but I said, boy, the chances of that going south were pretty high. Oh, yeah. That's crazy. But Troy Aikman, was a gentleman and, you know, after they washed their hands, he shook his hand. Signed some autographs. Signed some autographs in the toilet and then they, you know, went their separate ways. That's not weird. But we're sitting in the studio and I'm looking across from me right now and I'm seeing a head being, from Jason, P1 Jason shaking his head. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Who did you meet, Jason? Well, I was actually at Comic-Con like two years ago and I met Jamie Presley. Yeah. And I was in line to meet her and then, like,
there was a mother and daughter that were in line in front of me, and they wanted to take her picture, and she covered her face, and she didn't, and I just left the line because it, she didn't even want to take pictures with anybody. Really? Yeah, and it was just, I was really disappointed. Yeah. It can be very disappointing sometimes when you're meeting different people. People want paparazzi is on the, oh, that was fantastic. That was so, Eddie's face changed so. Well, it just changed so quickly. We just brought it up, and he's already on the line. He won paparazzi. His real name is Brad, and we call him paparazzi. What's going on, Brad? Who did you meet? I've met numerous celebrities. I've had good ends, but I met Junior Seau. You met Junior Seau? Junior Seau. And was he nice or not? I had a bad experience with him. What happened? Uh, there was a club we were opening brand new called Club 55. Uh-huh. In Oceanside. Yeah. And we were doing, like, he was coming down to introduce the club. He helped donate to it. And so I'm shooting pool on one of the brand new tables. I kind of helped organize it all. Are you sure you weren't shooting pictures? Now, were you shooting pool or pictures? Uh, Ashley wants to know. I'm on it. Not retiring. So this guy comes in. I didn't know what junior sale looked like at the time. Pushes the pool balls out of the way on the pool table we're playing on. Sets his baby on the table and starts changing the diaper.
While you were playing pool? While we were playing pool. So the table that you're playing pool on, you're in the middle of a game, and he pushed the pool balls out of the way, and he started to change the baby there? Yes. Who cares? Now, you didn't know who it was, right? Yes, I didn't know who it was. Did any of the guys you were playing pool with know who it was? I don't know if they knew or anything, but they're just like, what the heck is he doing? Okay, well, that means that they... Wait, wait, wait. That means they didn't know. All right. I mean, if they knew it was Junior Seau, they probably wouldn't be like, what the heck is he doing, right? Ah, possible. Okay, so did you say anything to him? Yeah, I asked him, like, what are you doing? We have changing tables. And he just kind of shrugged me off like, oh, get out of my face. Who cares? Wow. And then he said, who cares? That's what happens when you have a camera, Brad, and you just take pictures over and over again in your face. No, no, no. He said, no, he said that it was. That's what's going to happen. Yeah. Did you recognize Junior Seau? Thank you, paparazzi. Yeah, how did you not recognize Junior Seau? He's a pretty well-known face. I was a lot younger at the time, and I didn't really watch much sports, so I didn't recognize him. And then I saw him come up and make the announcements, you know, I'm Junior Seau, blah, blah, blah. There you go. I just told Junior Seau to get off the table each spot. Well, Eddie, he was into professional bowling at the time. He would have known any guy from the professional bowling circuit, but at the time he didn't know anything about Junior. Paparazzi, thanks for the phone call. P1 Andrew, are you there?
Yo, Matt, what's going on? Who did you run into? Okay, so we're, again, I'm in high school, junior high school, and we signed up to take this trip to Europe. So we're in Paris. We're in the Versace warehouse, and we're walking around like a bunch of kids, like not even should be in the Versace warehouse, see Steve Martin. Steve Martin is in the Versace warehouse? In Paris, France. We're walking around. That's crazy! Now, wait a minute. Now, describe the Versace warehouse. Like, is it an actual big, giant warehouse? Or is it a nice, beautiful, elegant clothing store? It's a nice, beautiful, elegant clothing store. Like, gold walls and crap like that. Like, it's all over like that. But they call it, but even though it looks like that, they call it the Versace Warehouse? Yeah, they're called the Versace Warehouse, man. Okay, so anyway, so you see Steve Martin, and what happens? So, like, me and, like, three of my buddies were walking through there. I'm like, dude, that's Steve Martin right there. And they're like, no way, because he's got, like, this low-brimmed hat on and this black mustache, because he's got really white hair. He's got this black mustache. And we're like, that's...
not him and so i look at him and he looks at me and kind of turns away real fast uh it's totally him right we walk up to him and we're like hey man can we get your autograph he goes yeah sure takes out a pen like scribbled and dot something and goes yeah see you guys later it walks away oh now see now now here's the deal you sometimes you got to pick up on those little tiny things you know like when he looked away real fast if it were me i'm just saying if it were me maybe it doesn't matter If it were me, as soon as he looked away real fast, I'd be like, uh-oh, I'm getting a vibe here. Dude, don't want to be bugged. But, hey, listen, to each their own. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Hey, listen, it's not like I'm going to get the opportunity one day where I'm going to look at him. He's going to give me a look like, yes, it's okay. You can come over here. Maybe I got to take my shot right now while it's getting good. That happened to me with Andrew Dice Clay. Did it really? Yeah. For real? Yeah. What happened? We ran into Andrew Dice Clay in like a... I forget what casino we were at, but they had a little gift shop, and he was in there. And I was like, man, I used to love Andrew Dice Clay, so I'm going to go up to him and say what's up. So I just went up, and I'm like, hey, Dice, I'm a huge fan. Just wanted to say hi. Ignored me. He didn't even say thank you. Didn't even look up. He was going through racks. Didn't even look up. And I went, all right, great. Nice meeting you. Oh, that sucks.
Let's see. P1 Astro ran into Tonya Harding? Whoa. Tonya Harding. We were drinking at a bar up in Portland, Oregon. No surprise. No surprise. That train wreck. She came walking through the door, thought she was all high and mighty, bumped into my buddy's sister. My buddy's sister turned around and said, excuse me. She gave her a dirty look, and so my buddy's sister kicked the crap out of her. No way. Oh, my gosh. I got arrested and dragged out of the bar. Wow. Wait a minute. Who got arrested and dragged out? My buddy's sister and Tonya Harding. No way. Wow. I'm sure we heard about it then because I know that there was, I seem to remember like something besides the yuge. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? The steel pole into Nancy Kerrigan's knee. Yeah. Yeah, dude. Wow. What a trip. It was the biggest trip I've ever had. Wow. Yeah, with a celebrity. Thanks for the phone call, man. Skye, somebody met somebody at a DMB concert. Oh, hello. Dave Matthews Band. This is P1 Katie. Are you there? Hey, Mikey. Who did you meet at a Dave Matthews concert? I met Tony Hawk. The skateboarder. Oh, yeah. Yes. My brother's roommate is the chef for Dave Matthews. So we go every year and do the whole backstage little bar area. And he was back there. And my husband and I... Wait, wait, wait, wait. We got to pause for a moment. Dave Matthews Band.
Has a chef? Yes. Rad. That's cool. Rad. Yeah, who travels around with him, yeah, every year. Dude, that would rule. What kind of stuff does Dave Matthews want to eat? It's a good question. I mean, do you really need a chef for pot brownies? I mean, I think he can bake them by himself, right? No, that's pretty cool, man. I mean, but anyway, so you ran into Tony Hawk and what happened? Yeah, he was with his group. There were a bunch of old school skaters with him, and his wife was with him. We saw him in the beginning before the concert, and then at the end, he was back there, and he was trying to get in touch with his wife to go get their car, which was parked back with all the Dave Matthews buses and everything. I had had, at that point, too much to drink. It was a complimentary bar back there. Uh-oh. Oh, wow. I like where this is headed. My husband went to go get another drink, and I'm sitting in talking with Tony at one of the, like, belly-up tables and dropped my drink. And he's sitting right across from me, so I'm literally taking my hands and kind of bringing the alcohol back my way. And so what happened? So what happened? My husband hears this from the line, you know, hears this whoosh, you know, turns around and...
And he said, I'm trying to recover my drink without getting Tony wet. He was really cool about it, actually. We're from San Diego, so we talked about, you know, Mission Bay High. That's, you lucked out. Yeah, that could have gone really bad. Yeah, for sure, man. Hey, there's somebody on the phone that met OJ. Oh, no. Took a picture with OJ. P1 Ender, are you there? Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? You met him in Vegas? Yeah, so I was in the lobby playing blackjack, and everybody's looking over towards the pool area. Yeah. I asked what's going on, and they said, oh, OJ's out there. He's just been hanging out all weekend. So I went out there, and he shook my hand, and he took a picture with us, and he was doing it with everybody who would come up to him. Is it true that when he shakes people's hands, he goes, I didn't do it? No, no, no. He says, I'm not going to stab you. It's nice to meet you. I'm not going to stab you. I'll shake your hand, but I can't do it with a glove because it won't fit. I tried to get it on there. It just doesn't. Struggle. Sorry I don't have time for more pictures and stabbings. You're lucky you're not a blonde woman. I'll just say that. And that I'm not mad. Because then it'd be a pool of blood. Yeah, that would.
Well, anyway, nice to meet you. Enjoy the pic. That's right. All I give to you is life. That's right. Yes, from me to you, you live. I'm going to flip this coin. You call it. Oh, no. What time do you go to bed? All right, thank you, P1 Ender. P1 Seanaphobe is on the line. Oh. Hey, how's it going, guys? It's going good, Seanaphobe. Who did you meet? I met Hilary Swank at Disneyland. Really? Yeah, she's not a nice person. Oh, no. What happened? Well, see, I was with my sister and her husband and their kid, and we were walking on Disneyland, and we're getting on Thunder Mountain. And before we get on, we see... Hillary Swank get on, and my sister knew who it was instantly. I had no idea. And so my sister wanted to wait after and take a picture with her. So we're like, that's cool. So we waited, and when she got off, she didn't hear us call her name. So my sister starts following her. So we're following Hillary Swank completely across the park. See, I think maybe she did hear. Yeah.
I'm going to take a wild guess here. So we find her, right? We catch up to her, and my sister's like, Seanaphobe, go up there and get her attention. So I'm like, great. So I go up there, and I'm like... So of course you did. Yeah, of course. So I'm like, Miss Swank, can we get a picture real quick? And she turns around, and she goes, oh, yeah. Oh, no. Yeah, so I'm trying to be as polite as possible, you know. I'm like, oh, cool, that's really cool of you, you know, thank you very much. And we got a picture with my sister, and then I was like, all right, Miss Wink, you have a good day, okay? And she was like, yeah, fine. And she turned around and walked away. Eddie, who do you feel sorry for in this situation? Thank you, Shawna Foam. Yeah, no problem, guys. Ouch. All right, don't go anywhere. So, Rain, what was the best movie that you saw last year? If you have to take Juno out of it because you were in it, what did you like the most? Diving Bell and the Butterfly. It's a movie that I've never heard of before, but Eddie's shaking his head yes. The director's nominated for it. You know how Transformers were like their robots that turn into cars and stuff like that? Yeah. Right? Yeah. Well, the Diving Bell and the Butterfly is about a paralyzed guy that can only communicate by blinking his left eyelid. Very similar.
I see the correlation. It's got a very similar audience. You should check it out. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. It's the Mikey Show. It is 7.51. Some Carlsbad residents are upset after the city council approved $2 million to build a shelter for migrant workers. I have draft news. Oh, no. Eddie's got draft news. Eddie, what do you have? What do you have? The Raiders, the Chiefs, and the Falcons all had the same record. So they had to do a coin toss to determine who was going to get the third pick, the fourth pick, and the fifth pick in the draft. Yeah. The Falcons won. So they're number three. Raiders are number four. Chiefs are number five. There's some teams in our division that are not so good. They're picking up there pretty high. I guess that's... Oh. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, they're not very good, so...
Skye just got it. She's like, okay, now I get, divisionally speaking, you're, oh, got it. I can't believe you're coming upon that that late, but yes, they are. That's right, Skye, I can see it in your face. You're thinking a divisional, I see it all playing out. She was even thinking like, oh, even Denver's not that good. Yeah, exactly. What are we talking about? We're talking about the Dumb Chick Challenge, which will be happening on this radio program. On this program? That's right. Oh, no. And not very long from now. So get ready for it. The rain makes him dumber. It doesn't help, that's for sure. It doesn't wash the dumb away is what you're saying? It doesn't. Now, as you know, Boston Rob went to San Diego State University and he wanted to interview some people on Super Tuesday. Talked to them about who they were going to vote for. And while he was there on the sidewalk, written on the sidewalk, in blue chalk, Somebody had written on the sidewalk something about Barack Obama. What did they write, Boston Rob? You ready for change? And then that was it. And then I walked a little further up and it said Barack Obama. And I was like, spare change? I would love it. That's what I was doing up there. So it motivated him. And he wrote this. That is a really good song. I love how he hits that one note. Obama!
That's right. Really good. Take some talent. I'm sure he was really getting into that in the recording studio. It must have been something to behold to actually see him in there. Yeah. Pumping out that hit. Sure. In the lab. That's right. In the lab. Chuck Liddell coming up in the studio in just a bit. 5701053. Reaction. What do you think, ladies over 40? Austin Rob's new song, Barack Obama. Only Asian women over 40 on the 5. I want to hear from Eastern Europeans listening right now in Carmel Valley. Only in Carmel Valley? That's right. Eastern European Carmel Valleyans. What did you think of the song? Let's go to Oksana, line one. Do you think it's worth another listen? Should we run through it one more time? For people that have never heard it before, it's delicious and I think people want to hear it. I agree. It's easy to dance to. It is. It's in your head. That is Boston Rob's new song. It's called Barack Obama. Who knew he was so political these days? Chuck Liddell is going to be joining us here within moments.
We're going to be talking to Chuck Liddell. He's got a new book out. You mean the author, Chuck Liddell? That's right. Not only is he a world-renowned tough guy, but he's also now an author. I wonder if he wrote it with somebody else, or if he did the whole thing, it's all his words, or if he had somebody do it with him. Seth read it. Seth, what did you think of... Hang on, let me turn on his mic. What did you think of the book? It was pretty good. Yeah? Yeah, he wrote it with somebody else on the inside flap and said that there was somebody else that helped him out, but it was still really good. Let's talk to him. Chuck Liddell. How you doing? I'm doing good, man. How are you? I'm doing great. Chuck, not only are you a great fighter, but now you're an author and you've written a book. Yeah. And the book is called Iceman, My Fighting Life. And what made you decide to do this, or did somebody come to you and say, we should do this? My friends talked to me, so I'm glad I did now that I've got it going. I thought it did well. So how long did the process take to put all this stuff together? It took a little while. We started working on it, I think it was in May. So we got together pretty quick.
Is there a thing in there, Chuck, that people seem to talk to you about the most when they meet you and they've read the book? Is there something that people bring up again and again? There's a few different things that people bring up. It just depends on what they're into. I mean, it covers a lot of stuff. Everything from growing up to all the way through the fighting. You know, one of the guys on our show, Zeth, read the book, and he came in here, and he was like he was shot out of a cannon, man. He was so excited to talk about it with all of us. He was like, you guys got to read this book. It's so great. And he said he talks a lot about Tito Ortiz, and everybody that follows the sport, UFC, knows that you had a falling out with Tito. What exactly happened between you guys, and how deep do you get into it in the book? I had to cover everything in the book about it. You know, there's been talked about a lot. You know, if you listen to him, you know, you think he took me off the street, taught me in a fight, and I turned on him. But, you know, it was more like I came in to help him out. I mean, we trained about 12 times together. I came in to work with him when he was getting ready for fights. And then when it was time for him to fight me, he started talking about how he'd beat me if we fought. And then at the same time to fight me, he wouldn't fight me. Kept turning it down.
So in the book, do you sort of get into the meat and potatoes of what happened behind the scenes in terms of you guys going at it with each other? I try to cover everything. Yeah. It sounds like an interesting story. You wrote that when the UFC was first getting off the ground, you and Dana White had to sort of earn fans any way that you could do it. And I guess there's a part in the book where you talk about fighting a guy in a hotel basement. Oh, my gosh. It was in the lobby, actually. It was in the lobby. Now, why did you do that? I think it was the guy who wrestled Peter before there. It was at the Boston Harbor Hotel. He was one of the guys. I couldn't take him down. He was going to take me down. He could take me down. He comes up and wakes me up. Well, not wakes me up, but I was up playing video games in the room. Are you calling us from your house right now, Chuck, or where are you calling us from? Yeah, from my house. That's cool. Do you have a cold? Yeah. You poor thing. You sound so congested. Yeah. Sky, what would you recommend? Well, I don't know. I was thinking, yeah, like maybe some hot sauce.
Steam and the Sudafed. It's going around right now, man. It's wicked. Yeah, I'm kind of getting over it, so... Oh, well, feel better. I'm training this week, so I'm feeling better. Good. Hey, the last fight was Vandalay Silva. Great fight. Who's up next for you? Shogun. He fights him in London. Oh. That's cool. Are you looking forward to it? Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. You training real hard? Yeah, sure. Well, I'll start my training camp for that. I'll start probably March, first week of March. I've got a guy here with my friends to fight, so I've been training hard with them. Hey, you want to fight the winner of Rampage Forrest Griffin for the belt? Isn't Forrest a friend of yours? Yeah, I like him. It doesn't change the fact that I want to fight him. Isn't it hard to fight a friend? Not really, not for me. I mean, it's a sport. I go out there... They're the guys that I like and I know, but they're not like the guys that I, you know, I train with every day and I hang out with every day. We're talking to Chuck Liddell. He's got a new book out called Iceman, My Fighting Life. It's funny. Chuck actually lives, my favorite place in the world is San Diego. But if I could live anywhere else in the world, it would be San Luis Obispo, where Chuck Liddell calls home. And the reason is because I used to live there. I lived in Shell Beach. And I absolutely loved it. You ever eat that Shell Beach Cafe, Chuck?
Yeah. Is it still there? Yeah. Well, I've been there a couple years, but I'm pretty sure I have a look. That place is a great... Yeah, let us know. Yeah, let us know. I'll check and see how it's doing. Now, why do you choose to live in San Luis Obispo? You know, I came up there and I was able to find a job where I could stay. I mean, I think it's a great place. It's a place to relax, come over and relax. I mean, I travel enough to do much... It's a beautiful area, man. I love that area. Eddie's got a question. Yeah, Chuck, we're pretty good friends with Brandon Vera, and in his last fight, he had to fight with a broken hand. Have you ever had to fight with any kind of injury? Yeah. It's just one of those things, part of the sport. You got to try to fight through it. You know, he fought tough for having a broken head. That's nuts. Hey, man, people are calling in, Chuck. Want to ask questions. Can we take a call here? That's right. All right. P1BigC, you there? Hey, yeah. Good morning, everybody. Big fan, Chuck. Real quick question for you. What's your opinion about this internet sensation guy, Kimbo Slice? You know, I want to see him fight somebody that's real before I make up. I mean, you know, he hasn't really...
Did you see the tank fight? Yeah, it was pretty bad. You ever watch that YouTube? Mike. I haven't checked about on there, no. I always take all the crazy stuff on there. That's crazy, man. Hey, Ashley's got a question. Go ahead, Ash. Yeah, Chuck, I was just wondering, who do you think is going to take the fight between Rampage and Forrest? And do you have a preference? Like, is there one over the other that you would really like to fight or a rematch with Rampage versus Forrest? I'd really like to fight Quentin, but, you know, I don't care who is that final fight, whoever wins it. Who do you think? You think Quentin's going to win it, did you say? I don't know who's going to win it, but I prefer to fight Quinn, but I'll fight either one of them. Whoever wins it, that's the guy I want to fight. There you go. Well, listen, Chuck Liddell's got a new book out. It's called Iceman, My Fighting Life. And listen, Chuck, we appreciate you coming on the show this morning, man. Thanks for having me, man. We'll try to get people out to get that book, man. We appreciate it. All right, thanks. Thanks a lot, Chuck. That is Chuck Liddell. He's stuffy. That's right. Let's take some phone calls. Let's go to the Eddie line.
Oh, good, finally. Mikey Show, hello. Hello, it's Eddie. Yes, it is. Hi, Eddie, how are you? I'm good. Who's this? My name is Barbara. Hello, Barbara. And I'm calling because I'm a bit concerned about that interview that just took place. About the Chuck Liddell interview? Yeah. What's the matter, Barbara? What are you concerned about? Well, what's going on with him? Well, you know, Chuck apparently had a little bit of a stuffy nose. He's a little sick. Stop toying around. It sounded like more than... Barbara, I don't want to say anything bad about Chuck Liddell. He's my favorite fighter. I'm just telling you that it sounded like a lot more than... Well, you know, you can jump to conclusions if you want, Barbara. Well, Barbara, what do you think was going on? Well, it sounded like that poor man's been hit on the head a lot. Well, that's what he does for a living. He's a fighter, so I'm sure he has. Okay, and my question to you is when... is enough enough. What is that supposed to mean? This is why. You're garbage. This is why. Betty, don't be me to Barbara. She's pissing me off. Listen to me. What do you want, Barbara? This is why I back Hillary Clinton. Okay, hold on. Well, that doesn't even make any sense. What are you even talking about? Hillary Clinton, first of all, is a wonderful, wonderful patriot. And she is going to, if elected,
She is going to outlaw MMA. Well, first of all, that's incorrect. You're wrong. It's actually John McCain who has actually had several issues. He's going to outlaw MMA. He's going to outlaw it. He's talked about it and not Hillary Clinton. So your facts are incorrect, Barbara. Well, I'm going to tell you this right now. That poor man suffered brain damage. You don't know that. 105.3 maybe every once in a while. You don't know anything. Maybe try 105.3 every once in a while. What do you know? I know that I just heard a man that you people are not taking... Listen, he's had interviews before where he's been sick, he's been on cold medicine, and he could have just had the flu. Sick is one thing, Eddie, but that's a whole other different issue. I didn't really... Okay, goodbye, Barbara. I don't need that.
Do not call my line ever again. That was weird. That was just a strange thing all the way around. Outrageous. Quick time out. Oh, I guess she hung up. She did. I'm glad. Go away. Got an email we want to read to you. Hey, you know the place that won the best deli in San Diego? Best sandwich? The best sandwich. Yeah, best sandwich in San Diego. It was that place out in Coronado. Park Place. Liquor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I want that Chipotle El Diablo Octavio sandwich. Oh, yeah, that's good. Mike was here. The Mikey Show continues. Mike is a f***er.

You'll be sitting in traffic for some time. It's impacted all our freeways with the rain and bad accidents as a result of it. Right now, northbound 163, an earlier accident near Friars Road has been cleared. That really backed up traffic coming out of Bowel Park. Now a new accident near Robinson. has got you still slow coming out of downtown on the 163 northbound. The 805 northbound out of the South Bay, crawling out of Chula Vista, solid all the way up to the Governor Drive in the Golden Triangle. Westbound 8, plenty of brake lights here from West Coaches in the valley, all the way into Mission Valley now. And the southbound side of the 15 also struggling out of Escondido off to 78. That's a solid slow ride down to the 163 split coming out of Miramar. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. As a part of my personality, I'm both focused and all over the place. And now something you might have missed on the Mikey Show. P1 Sierra, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? I've got two little sisters. One's afraid of cheese graters and the other one's afraid of styrofoam. What's the styrofoam deal? What is she afraid of? I don't know, but she was like that girl with the pickle. She'll start screaming and freaking out.
So what happens if she gets a package with, like, those styrofoam peanuts? I don't know, but it's fun to throw those at her. Wow. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 8-14. The Foo Fighters have filed a lawsuit against Marvel Comics for using their songs in the trailer for Wolverine. Blockbuster trade goes down in the NBA. Cleveland traded half their team, got Ben Wallace from the Bulls in an 11-player deal. Sky, remind me who Aaron Carter is. The brother of Nick Carter. Remind me who Nick Carter is. Boy band. Which one was he in, like, Backstreet? Oh, it was 98 Sinc. No, no, it was Backstreet. It was the Backstreet. Well, I said. Degrees. Yeah. Yeah, degrees of the street. Degrees of the street. Backdoor boys. Yeah, so it was them. Remember them? It's them. So what did he do? Well, Aaron... Gelled his hair too much. He got pulled over by... No.
Yes, Aaron Carter was pulled over yesterday morning in Texas for speeding. And when he was pulled over, they searched his car and found more than two ounces of weed in his car. Oh, I love weed. I love weed. He is still in jail and will be arraigned later today. Yeah. Very nice. Very nice. Want to hear a, uh, email that, uh, somebody wrote, uh, kind of giving their impressions of meeting us? Break it down for me, Mikey. Says, uh, hey, Mikey, Eddie, Sky, and company. Oh. Uh, I've been a fan since your first day doing Mornings on Rock 105. There definitely seemed to be something missing in morning radio in San Diego back in the day. You guys stepped right in and filled that void. While being a longtime listener, I never get too involved in the events and happenings around the show. That's just not me, I guess. But yesterday, I got the chance to come into the studio and hang out with you guys for the third day performance. And besides watching my favorite band perform live just a few feet in front of me, I also got the chance to see the Mikey Morning Show live and in action.
And if I can pull the curtain back just a bit. Oh, no. Oh, no curtain pulling. It's pretty cool to note that you guys really are who we thought you were. You aren't just putting on an act for the audience. You are very real. And here's where he breaks it down. He says, Mikey is the ADD afflicted man in control of the show. Eddie is the funny laid back guy in a T-shirt and shorts running things behind the scenes. Skye really does dress like a grandma. But accurate. And as my wife said, she is a very nice person. That's sweet. I'm a nice girl. B-Rob really is short. I'm not. This is a guy Paul Bunyan. A mini mini. Ashley really is hot and sweaty. That's true. And Zeth really is a figment of our imagination. Never heard of it. Basically, thanks for being who you are and sharing that with all of us on the air. And thanks for always remembering your P1 Sincerely P1 third day fan. That's Jeff in Ramona. That's cool. Yeah, it's very cool, man. Guy is a big fan and he had a good time coming in here. All right, let's see. Okay, here we go. So tell me what you guys think about this.
I want to get your input on this email. And you can call us, too, at 570-1053 and tell me what you think about this. And even the folks that are here in the studio, even though Sean won't like it, you guys can comment on what you guys think about this. Oh, no. Now they're going to blab nonstop. Oh, Sean, come on now. It's going to be fine. Blabbers. Says, Mikey, I'm having issues. I know you guys discuss stuff like this on your show, so I thought I'd write you an email. Got married in December to a wonderful man. But since the wedding... I've been feeling depressed. I guess I have the post-wedding blues. I spent a year and a half of my life planning this amazing day and now that it's over, I feel like I have nothing going on. It was all that consumed me and now I have nothing. I'm crying just writing this. I will even admit that I sometimes go into our bedroom and will put... My dress on. Okay. Now, that's a little. That is. Now, that's the point in the story where I personally feel like it gets a little. That's all I'm saying. She says, am I crazy? Do other women feel like this? I hope it goes away soon because I know my new husband deserves better. Thanks for listening. Signed, P1 Bridal Bazaar.
5701053, if your lady has been through something like this, or if you are a lady who has been through something like this, I suspect that this is a lady thing. I don't think a lot of guys go through the post-wedding blues. Go ahead. What were you going to say? Wait a minute. I've got to get my stuff in front of me. P1 Rima is in the studio. Go ahead, Rima. Wait, wait, wait. Go ahead. Smack it up. I'm actually planning a wedding right now, but we've had so much time and I did so much so early that I'm actually kind of bored right now and I have nothing to do. Really? So I think it's just a matter of how you manage your time and how you... Well, what this is specifically... Is the whole event being over. You know, when the event is over, like right now you haven't even got to the wedding yet. Wait till you get to the wedding. Your big day, it all comes together. See, right now you're in the planning process. You're sort of living out that dream. You're putting the dream together. But eventually the dream will come to fruition and then you're left with no more planning. So then what do you do? Skye, did you go through any of this? I didn't.
I mean, not really, but I definitely understand because coming up to the wedding, and I don't know if it's the same for the groom, but for the bride, it's like all attention. It's all about you everywhere you go. People want to talk to you about the wedding. How are you feeling? Oh, we have a shower. Oh, we're going to have a barbecue. Oh, all the families in town. Everybody wants to talk to you. Everybody wants to toast you. Everything's about you. Ah, yes. Toast you. Really? You know what I mean. Everything's about you. Tell me. Guys, this is a special day. This one's above the shoulders. Make sure everyone has to do it. So you're always the center of attention. And then after the wedding day is over, it goes from like, you know, 100% of, you know, the attention to, you know, you're just kind of a normal person again. And there's like, oh, okay, great. There's another married lady. Great. Unless you're a celebrity like me. Then every day is my day. That's right. Then you can have your wedding in Circuit City on a Tuesday because you're going shopping for Grindelwald. If I'm getting rods of ash home. Yeah, that's right. As long as you wear your I Am Sky t-shirt. Right. And talk as loudly as possible. Well, Circuit City man, where do you keep the earphones? You say you need me to sign this? Yes, it's just a credit card statement.
Who do I make it out to? Well, you don't make it out to anybody. You just sign your name. Oh, you mean you want my autograph? Well, I guess you could put it like that, but I just need you to sign it. The old John Hancock, yeah? Is that what you want? You want an 8x10 glossy with that? Please, back to the email. Why are you shouting, ma'am? Please, back to the email. This is the way I speak! Oh, my gosh. Okay, please. Are you having trouble hearing me, young man? You don't need a megaphone. I'm saying I'll sign the receipt. And if you've got a camera on your phone, I'll take one photograph. And then I must leave forthwith. Now, here's what I say. I think that if ladies are getting so involved afterwards, or so depressed afterwards, that they're getting to the point where... They're crying and they're going and they're having to put the wedding dress on and everything. I think there might be bigger issues than just the wedding being over. Well, the reason I say that is because, yes, the wedding is a big thing. But I think that, you know, I'm no psychologist, but I think that many people may agree that it should, in a healthy person, not bring up.
such desperation and anxiety and depression? I don't know. You know, I mean, I'm not a female, so I don't really know what goes through their heads. But I do know that the wedding day is something that they've dreamed about since they were little. And when it finally is over and they really believe they're not ever going to do that again, I can get, you know. getting pretty emotional about it. Not to the point of where you need to wear your dress, like, walking around your house. You know, that's kind of odd, but... I... Maybe. No, I don't... The whole thing that got me was the whole, it's over, and I'm so upset about it, I can understand, oh, man, it's kind of a downer, it's over. Yeah. The only thing that got, that struck me as so unusual about her letter was that she's crying... She's moved to tears. And I guess what I'm saying is that... Did Zeth write this? Yeah, I think that may have been the deal. Zeth, you can just be open and honest about it. You don't have to say... I put in the email that you guys weren't supposed to say it's me. I know. I've seen you wear a dress before. That is true. That's besides the point. That is true. I've never heard of it. It hurts. P1 Amber is on the line. Go ahead, Amber. I went to the exact...
same thing. You did? Yes, I totally feel for that girl. I got married back in August and I just now looked at my wedding photos. That's unbelievable. It took you that long just to get to a point where you felt like you could look at the wedding photos. Tell me this. Let's discuss what it is that you would feel When you would think about looking at them, but just couldn't bring yourself to? Disappointment. Disappointment about what? Just, I spent a whole year of my life planning that thing, and it went by so fast. How did it go? In terms of, like, did I like the day or enjoy the day? Did the day work out the way that you had wanted it to? Yes. I felt like my whole life was dedicated to that, and I didn't even remember... what happened that day until I looked at the wedding video and then I thought, oh gosh, I don't even remember dancing with that person. So it was a huge letdown. Do you think that the day went well? I think so. I can't even really remember. But Amber, you know that happens with everybody. Everybody goes through that. Yeah, but you put so much time and effort and emotional investment into every detail and then...
It's just a few hours that go by so fast, and it's just a huge letdown because you think, God, why did I do this? She's emotional right now. She is emotional right now. I can hear it, yeah. I can hear it. Now, Amber, so I'm struggling to figure out whether or not you enjoyed the day. I didn't, honestly. I didn't. There was nothing special about it. I didn't feel... No, no, no. See, this is what I mean. This is kind of what I'm talking about. I believe that there may be some other things going on with Amber. And I think that that might, I mean, honestly, I think that it may be worth exploring in yourself and figuring out, well, why am I this way? A lot of women go through their wedding day and they really enjoy the wedding day. I think they are lying. You believe that all women never really enjoy their wedding day. I think some do, but I think it's just... a way to get other women to buy into it so they waste their money on it. Skye, did you feel that way? You didn't like your wedding day? No, I mean, granted, it was a stressful day, but to say there was nothing special about the day you committed your life to your husband kind of makes me feel like you're missing the big picture of what the wedding is about. Let me ask you a question, Amber. What is your relationship like with your husband? Good. Oh, ouch. Good. We're about to strain the week, so...
And I have an ex-wife to deal with, so I mean. He works out of state during the week? Yeah. Okay. Amber, I'm just going to offer this to you. Take it for what it's worth. But it may be an issue of you don't have a husband right now because he's gone during the week. And that's the way you're feeling, I think, is kind of fits. The way that you're feeling about that wedding day, I think, kind of fits. It sounds, if anything, it sounds kind of like loneliness. You know, and that that wedding, there was a lot building up to that wedding. And that wedding was supposed to was supposed to fill a big thing in there, you know, in your heart. And now that it's all done, you feel kind of lonely because he's not around. He's not even there during the week. Yeah. Well, listen, go ahead, Sean. I just have one thought. And that is. I think that women in this country are sort of trained from the time they were very little girls that one of their purposes in life is to get married. Well, I'm just the opposite. I did not grow up dreaming of a big wedding. And I think once I got engaged, I got so swallowed up by all the hype that I turned into the girl that I thought I never would be. I turned into the, quote, bridezilla. And that's my point.
That's my point, is that there is some kind of weird, unrealistic expectation on the part of women that this is going to be some sort of magical day where extraordinary things are going to happen. Exactly. It's going to be magic. Right. And it's totally unrealistic. And when you go in with those expectations, I mean, you only have one outcome, and that is disappointment. I agree. Well. I think the big picture deal is I'm in love with this guy. And that's what's special about that day. I am. And that's why I encourage my girlfriends who are now getting engaged to go off in a lope and just do something with each other. I think that would have made it much more special for me versus having 200 people staring at me, walking down the aisle. I've told many engaged people that same thing. Does that mean...
That you can't have the big, nice wedding and still have it be special? Or do you think that, no, you kind of can't because you're putting so much work into it, you can't enjoy it? I disagree. I had a decent-sized wedding, and I loved it. I absolutely had a great time. I was part of the planning process. I think I did about, I wouldn't say 50%, but 40%. I mean, your wife was very involved until the other day. She was telling me that she loved the planning process so much that she would like to do that. She'd like to be like a wedding consultant. Yeah, she did a great job. Oh, she did an awesome job because she enjoyed it so much. So, you know, she was really involved, you know. Amber, I will tell you that I... I just thought that for all that time and effort you put into it for just a few hours, I mean, I would have rather spent the $30,000 on doing... something else in hindsight you know now that i've been there yeah i just had this talk with rob's fiancee actually the other day and i was saying now i tell this to first-time brides and they want they want to punch me in the face when i say this you can't because i just want to let you know don't put yourself in debt for the rest of your life to throw a cool party for your friends it's not worth it the day can be very very special without putting a financial burden on yourself i agree and and you know i didn't go into debt
Um, I, I did save the money for it, but. You know, you guys are right. Sky, Amber, you guys are a hundred percent right. The problem is, is that chicks got to experience it. Oh yeah, definitely. That's why, you know, they're like, they're like, I know you're saying that, that makes sense, but I want my Cinderella day. And then what they'll do is they'll do their Cinderella day, realize that you guys are right. And then they'll tell other would be brides the same thing. And those brides will be like, whatever, I got to have my day. But Amber, Amber, this is very important for you and for any any woman that's going through this kind of deal. It's very important to realize if you are having these feet, the point of the wedding day is your husband. The point after the wedding day is your husband. If there is an issue with these extreme feelings after the wedding. examine the relationship with your husband. I don't totally agree. Okay, I understand. I think I have met other girls, too, who, you know, they're not dealing with an ex-wife or a husband that works out of state during the week, and they have gone through similar emotions, not as extreme. I mean, maybe not crying to the point of depression. Like, I almost thought about going on anxiety medication afterwards. That's how let down I was. Wow.
I'm telling you, Amber, that is not a symptom of the wedding. That is a symptom of something much bigger. And I understand an overall sense from women saying, oh, what a bummer. I missed the planning. That was so much fun. I understand that. I think that that's healthy. What is not healthy is the sort of depression. Depression is not healthy in any way. But check this out. And I appreciate the phone call, Amber. And I'm going to pray for you and I hope it gets better, all right? Well, it is better. It just took a few months. Okay, cool. All right, Amber, thank you for the phone call. I appreciate it, okay? Okay, bye. Now, there is a guy on the line right now. And we're going to talk to him. But there is a guy on the line. And I'm telling you, his advice, I could not disagree with more. But he's entitled to it. So we're going to talk to him and tell you what he thinks that these ladies should do. If they are experiencing, and he's serious, it's not, this isn't a joke. If they are experiencing a depression and the post-wedding blues, yeah, the post-wedding blues, this is what you can do to make yourself feel better. You'll hear that when we come back. 105.3. I went out to sleep train and bought myself a mattress, finally. Why'd you do it?
I went this Sunday, actually. Cool. What'd you get? Yeah, I got a Beautyrest Comfort Classic. Did they deliver it Sunday, Monday, or when? Sunday when I told them to because I was moving that day. Really? It worked out perfect. That's pretty awesome. And did they take your... Well, wait a minute. If you were moving, did they have to take your set or did you get rid of it yourself? No, I got rid of it myself. So they bring the new one in. Did they set it up for you? They set it up for me within like... Five minutes. And how did it feel that first night? Just like being in heaven. That's awesome, man. That's pretty awesome, dude. That's awesome. Yeah, I tell people about Sleepton. Did they give you a good price? Oh, yeah, dude. I went in there after the promotion about getting everything for free. And the dude's still doing everything for free. And after I told him that Mikey sent me personally, he knocked off 700 bucks. That's awesome. Yeah. All right, brother. Thank you, Sanjaya. All right, dude. Talk to you later, man. Sleep change your ticket to a better night's sleep. Now, here's something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey Show. There's somebody on the phone that met OJ. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? You met him in Vegas? Yeah, he shook my hand, and he took a picture with us, and he was doing it with everybody who would come up to him. Is it true that when he shakes people's hands, he goes, I didn't do it? No, no, no. He says, I'm not going to stab you.
You're lucky you're not a blonde woman. I'll just say that. And that I'm not mad. Because then it'd be a pool of blood. Yeah, that would. Well, anyway, nice to meet you. Enjoy the pic. That's right. You is life. That's right. Yes, from me to you, you live. The Mikey Show continues. I'm on the rock. Back in the day... Eddie and I probably saw this performed live about 150,000 times. Yeah. Tiger moves on. This just in. Sky's my friend. What up? Go to MikeyShow.com. Type in the word blogs. And you can see Sky wearing a mask.
If you click on, if you click blogs and type in the word blogs into the keyword, you can go there and read our blogs. We put pictures on there sometimes and it's pretty cool. And you get to, what's cool about the, let me ask the folks that are in the studio right now with us. We got two P1s that we let come in for P1 trivia. P1 Rima, P1 Jason. You can be honest. Have you guys seen the blogs yet or no? I haven't seen today's. Well, have you seen them? I have seen them in the past, yes. How about you, Rima? Yeah, it's been a while, but I've seen them before. The blogs are interesting because you get to kind of read some stuff that you wouldn't necessarily hear on the air. Here, when we're on the air, we tend to kind of be focused on doing a certain thing, and so sometimes we don't go off on little things that are happening in our lives. We try to give you as much as we can. That's kind of our deal as being the reality show on the radio. But we try to give you as much as we can. But the blogs are cool to kind of read that stuff and find out what's going on. This says WTF is up with these women. I don't know what that means. I'll tell you later. I guess it's WTF, which is a word I'm not familiar with. The WTF is up with these women. It says, any of them heard of the show Bridezilla? I want, I want, I want. Shut up!
Whoa. Yeah. Calm down. That is from P1 Alex. And yeah, I guess he's irritated. Shut up. There's enough with these chicks. It actually tells him to shut up. That's right. So before we went to break, I said we were going to come back. You were going to hear what somebody thought that the women should do if they're going through some sort of depression after the big day. P1 Big Pimpin, are you there? I'm right here. So what do you think the answer is? Well, I got married back in June of last year. And, you know, before you're married, it's all fun. And you have excitement with your girlfriend. You get married. The day is awesome. But right after you get to this boring part of your life, supposedly. Wow. And I think that right after that happens, you know, it's a couple of months. And, you know, you're hanging out with your wife. You're having fun. And, you know, doing stuff. And it's fun. would be a good solution. You know, my wife just got, you know, we just got pregnant. She just, we just found out a couple of days ago and we're going to have a kid, you know, and we're all excited and we're doing stuff and, you know, and it's a good, you know, start to a new life and it's going to be fun from now on, like even more. Big pimpin'. Yes, yes, yes. Big pimpin'. Let me get a hold of you over here. Get him, Mike. Let me talk to you a little bit here. All right. You are kind of right.
You're right about some stuff here. Let me give you the good news first, and then I'll give you the bad news. Okay. The good news is that, yes, when that baby comes, there is going to be a lot of joy. And you guys are going to be very, very stoked, and it is going to bring a lot of joy to your life. However, you do come back to the real world. And you realize that there is... And what... begins as something that is extraordinarily joyful, will transition into a much, the volume gets turned down a little bit on that sense of bliss, and you get into sort of a real life routine. And the real life routine has a lot of responsibility involved in it. And so the things that were making you guys bored before the baby, sort of resurface. They will be gone during the nine months of, oh my goodness, look at the belly, oh my goodness, look at, we could see the belly moving. You go through all this stuff that's very exciting and then the baby comes, oh my goodness, is this the baby? And the people are coming over and the parents are cooing and you guys are all having a great time and there's all kinds of feedings and diaper changes that are new and exciting and then it just turns into a diaper. Yeah. And then,
You guys get into the routine of, hey, are you going to do this? Yeah, but I thought you were going to. Yeah, okay, well, why don't you then? You figure that stuff out. You go through that phase. And then all those things start to come back. All those little sort of boring things that were making your life boring before, they come back. In my humble opinion, a baby is not the answer to boredom in a relationship. Right, right. I agree with you on that one. It will be a temporary... Fix, my friend. You know, but I hear these women, they say they're bored. You know, their husbands, like the lady that just called her. He didn't hear me. You didn't hear me, bro. You heard me say about two minutes of stuff there, and you glazed right over it. You're saying, yeah, yeah, I'm doing great, Mikey. Anyway, a baby. I believe about the routine. The routine, I believe you about the routine. I mean, I agree with you 100%. You know, right now, we have a stepdaughter. I have a stepdaughter, you know. Uh-huh. I agree, you know. Uh-huh. So my wife, she went through it without me when she had her, my stepdaughter. But no, I completely believe you about the whole routine. I'm telling you, dude, if you and your wife were going through a thing where you felt like after you got married, you kind of went into this boredom thing, and it got a little ho-hum, and you guys were experiencing any kind of blues.
I'm telling you, the baby is, the excitement of the baby coming is a temporary fix. You guys will get sort of absorbed in it. But after the baby's born, you will get back into a routine. And whatever you were feeling before, that will come back. You've got to deal with that stuff. Sky, do you agree with that? Yeah, I definitely agree. And I never suggest someone having a baby to fix a problem. No way. That is like the worst advice you can ever give someone. I'm telling you. Yeah. The baby ain't going to fix it. Get a puppy. Yes, a puppy fixes it. If you get a puppy, that'll change everything. Crystal, are you there? Yeah. Go ahead. I was just commenting on the, you guys are calling her bridezilla. Uh-huh. I just don't understand. Okay, I got married in 06. Uh-huh. My husband was deployed September of 06 and was gone for nine months. September five. Nine months. Yeah. And it's like... It's like some people don't appreciate. It just seems like she doesn't appreciate maybe she doesn't love him. Right. Or I don't think that she doesn't love him. I think that that may be, in fact, I think that you may have just hit on it. I think that maybe it's that she does love him. She loves him a lot. And he's not around. He's gone during the week. She said that during the five-day work week, he's gone. That's not a relationship.
That's a roommate. No, well, it's hard. I mean, it's hard. My husband's still in the Marine Corps, and, I mean, he works 16-hour days, and I work 8-hour days, and we get home, and it's like, bam, you know, we're tired. 8 o'clock, we're in bed. It's not easy. Hillary Clinton says it's not easy. To me, it sounds like the previous girl had a void in her life. You know, it was filled. It has to be something. I mean, it's, I don't know, you can't, because me, I mean, right after we got married, We weren't even thinking about like, we were like glad the wedding was over. We're like, yes, you know, we're finally married. You know, it's like a relief. I agree. I agree. But what I don't agree with you is that she doesn't love him. I think she probably does. I don't know. I mean, you gotta, I wouldn't, I mean, why think of the negatives with, you know, just be like, God, you know, I'm married to a guy that I am just completely in love with. Don't look at the negative. Look at the future of, you know, maybe this is just a hard time that we're going through, but it's going to get better. Got it. Well, listen, I appreciate the phone call. Thank you, Crystal. No problem. The Eddie line's ringing. Again? Yeah, it's ringing. It's going off the hook. I'm nervous. Busy today. All right, so that ran away. Like your show. Hello? Hi, this is Eddie. This is? Eddie, it's Barbara again. Oh, Barbara. Yes. What can we do for you, Barbara?
I think that all of these women are off the mark with all this stuff. Well, what do you mean by that? I just, you know, everyone's saying that this is the answer or that's the answer. And even Mikey's saying that, you know, all the stuff that he said, I wasn't even paying attention when he was talking. Oh, that's kind of rude, but okay. I know what you mean. It's like he's drawing on and on. I love you, by the way, Sky. Aw, thank you, Barbara. You're so sweet. I have been listening to this show for about two months solid. And I, first of all, I agree. I agree with everything, Skies. Now, that makes you a crackpot. That's not true, Eddie. Well, you're a crackpot. I'm not a crackpot. Now, what is your advice for these ladies? My advice is get yourself into a good doctor and just get lots of drugs. No, that's bad. You don't, Barbara. That sounds good, Barbara. Barbara, that's just stupid. I would say anything psychotropic. No, I would say good. Barbara. Paxil is good. Hey, lady. And I would say this, too. Yeah. With a glass of wine. I don't want you to rule this out, ladies. What's that? If you can't get the doc to give them to you, buy them from your friends. Okay. Or borrow. You are sounding like Skye. Buy or borrow. And Barbara, TJ is just right there. Buy or borrow. What is right there, Skye? It's TJ, Tijuana. Yes, Skye. Oh, gee. That's what I'm saying. This is terrible advice.
Do not rule these things out. And just tell these ladies to stop with the whining. Excuse me, Barbara. Are you a married lady? I am married, actually, and I have four beautiful children. Really? Yes, I do. And they are all separated by one year. Wow. Sounds like you had a busy... Busy life there for a while. We did. We did. And my husband and I have been married and divorced four times. Wait, the same person? That's right. That doesn't sound normal. It's been a challenge. Every time he finds out I'm pregnant, he files papers. Oh. That's weird. Anyway, borrow or buy from the friend. Okay, nice. We'll see you later. Good advice. Probably because he had a vasectomy. Oh, Barbara. She's the best. I don't like her at all. I think she gives a lot of strange advice. She really gets it. Eddie, how does she get your phone number? I wish she would lose that number. That is the weirdest thing ever. You are listening to The Mikey Show. Indeed you are. Rock 105.3. We go to such lengths while many other jewelers order their diamonds from a computer sight unseen because ours is the only possible way to select those diamonds with superior sparkle and brilliance. And so ever since, Boston Rob has been behind Barack Obama and he has done this. It'll go...
and the air guitar on this one? Bass. Is it air bass? Get it? Guess what? P1 Amber, who called in that said all the stuff and that she's called back. Oh, really? She wants to come back on and kind of explain some more things. Now, if you don't, if you weren't tuned in, P1 Amber called just a little while ago. We were talking about the post-wedding blues and she called in. She said, yeah, I went through this. I was feeling real bad. I'm not... going through it anymore but i was going through this where i went through this sort of depression and uh she explained to us that her husband is um you know gone five days out of the week home for two days of the week and she's calling back she wants to uh make some more comments is that right amber hey i just want to set the record straight that my point of calling in i i absolutely love my husband and i'm so happy to spend the rest of my life with him but my point was that
It's normal to have a come down after the wedding. I think it's normal. I just think a lot of women don't talk about it or they don't want to admit it because it's supposed to be the happiest day of your life. I think it's normal, too, Amber. I don't think that depression is normal. I think that sort of a, oh, man, I miss that. I miss that thing. That was fun. I wish I was still doing that. Oh, man, I got these. Post wedding blues. I understand that. What I don't think is necessarily normal is when you are close to the point where you are considering, you know, going and seeing somebody about it for depression issues, which you should, by the way. I mean, if you're feeling that way, you should see a professional. Let me just clarify. It was two weeks after the wedding for two weeks that I felt that way. You know, so for two weeks, yes, I, you know, I felt really bad and I questioned, I'm like, you know, I've never had feelings like this before. Is there something wrong with me? But after the two weeks and I, you know, I overcame it. Yes, I didn't want to look at my wedding photos mostly because I spent five grand on them. And at first glance, when I saw the proof, you couldn't even tell that I got married on the water, which, you know, I spent a buttload of money.
She'd get married on the beach, and you can't even tell in my photos. So that was just more of the reasoning behind not wanting to look at the photos, not because I wasn't happy about marrying my husband. Not at any point, Amber. In fact, when somebody called in and said something that, well, her and she doesn't even love her husband, blah, blah, blah, I defended you, and I still do to this moment. I think the one thing that made... me go, ugh, that made me feel kind of weird, is when she said there was nothing special about the day. And to me, the most special part of my wedding was the fact that I was getting married to my wife. And so that kind of made me cringe a little. Well, can I give you one more little piece of information? We got married, actually. We've been married for almost two years. So, we eloped. And then I decided, because my wife have the big ceremony so that could have been the reason too why i didn't feel like that day was special because i had already been married for almost a year at that point right so i just feel like i am 10 miles ahead of somebody who is newly engaged and my advice is really sit and think before you feel
feel the need to spend a year of your life planning this one day which lasts maybe six hours and all this time and money on on that one event really just sit and think if it's really that important go to Hawaii with your husband and just a couple close friends and just make a special you know trip of it that's what I'm getting at okay all right well listen Amber I appreciate it and uh I The one thing that kind of concerned me was the whole, he's gone five days a week, I see him two days a week thing. But, hey, listen, if you're making it work, then... We made that decision together. It wasn't like he made that work decision on his own. And a marriage is about making sacrifices, and it's just for a couple years. There you go. All right. Well, I appreciate the phone call, Amber. Good luck. Thanks. Thank you. What did you... Did anybody... First of all, who saw the debates last night? I did. This guy saw them. This is Barack responding to... No? Barack. The Rock, was that? Yeah, The Rock. This is Dwayne Johnson responding to allegations. You smell what Hillary's cooking? That's right. This is Barack responding to allegations of plagiarism in his speeches. Cut 18. There has been a lot of attention lately on some of your speeches. That they're very similar to some of the speeches by your friend and supporter, Deval Patrick, the governor of Massachusetts.
Senator Clinton's campaign has made a big issue of this. To be blunt, they've accused you of plagiarism. Right. How do you respond? Well, look, first of all, it's not a lot of speeches. There are two lines in speeches that I've been giving over the last couple of weeks. I've been campaigning now for the last two years. Deval is a national co-chairman of my campaign and suggested an argument that I share, that words are important. Words matter. Now, the notion that... I had plagiarized from somebody who's one of my national co-chairs who gave me the line and suggested that I use it. I think it's silly. And, you know, but this is where we start getting into silly season in politics. And I think people start getting discouraged about it. It is silly season. It opened a couple of weeks ago. That's my favorite. But there's like, I guess the limit is like four. So you can get four sillies. Now, when does Tomfoolery season start? Tomfoolery does not start until September. Oh, see, that's my fave. But the cool thing is there's a higher limit on Tomfoolery. You could have up to eight. You could bag eight in a day. Oh, wow. And shenanigans season. Oh, I forgot about shenanigans. What is shenanigans season? I've never been. You don't go? No, there's shenanigans season here in San Diego. This is the best. Wow. A lot of drinking. That's right. So, Hillary...
She was kind of irritated last night. Kind of. She was kind of irritated because it seemed like every time she thought she was making a good point, it seemed like every time that happened, that he was saying something that made her look foolish. Right after she'd make a great point, he'd make an even better point and would make her kind of look foolish. So last night he's saying all this stuff about silly season and he's making his points about plagiarism. And so she says this and it didn't go over very well. Cut 19. The silly season. Well, I think that if your candidacy is going to be about words, then they should be your own words. I think a very simple pause now. I'm going to tell you something. What she is about to say was the person that came up with somebody in her campaign. They said, this is what you got to say. Oh, yeah. It's going to knock them. dead say this and it will floor everybody the problem with hillary she can't deliver it oh no she can't deliver it like barack does so when she says this listen to the her big line oh unpause it should be your own words that's i think a very simple proposition and you know
You know, lifting whole passages from someone else's speeches is not change you can believe in. It's change you can Xerox. And I just don't think... No, but, you know, but, Barack, it is. Because if, you know, if you look... Didn't really work. If you look... If you look at the YouTube of these videos, it does raise questions. That you put up? If you look at my blog about this... That didn't go over quite as well. No. As she thought it would. Change you can Xerox, man. We nailed it. Say that. It's going to knock everybody out. They're going to love it. Maybe not so much. Tori Spelling has written an autobiography and she's dishing about 90210. So, when we come back, we'll tell you what she's telling people. Don't go away.

What do you mean? It makes shopping for car insurance too easy. Way too easy. Well, we just thought folks should be able to get a rate quote without jumping through a lot of hoops. Really? What's next? Using GEICO.com to pay my bill? Report a claim? Add a driver? Well, now that you mention it. Oh, no. If you don't mind car insurance made easy, visit GEICO.com or call 1-800-947-AUTO. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance.
Another good thing about GEICO is they've got, like, real live people working there 24-7. So, like, say you need to report a claim, right? A real person will be there to help you. Then you can use GEICO.com to view photos of the damage, track your claim, print an estimate. You want an English muffin? They literally hand you a toasted muffin with butter and jam. Oh, it's tasty. That's a complete dramatisation, of course, but you get my point. GEICO. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance. There's a lot of shouting lately about a brand new way to buy used cars. Vehicle inspections, history reports, competitive pricing, warranties, and on and on and on. Isn't this what the Bob Baker Auto Group has been doing for years? Bob Baker Certified Used Vehicles were the first locally originated certification program cars. And guess what? Our roots are right here in San Diego. Every Bob Baker-certified used vehicle undergoes a very rigorous inspection by a factory-trained inspector, and if it passes, it's presented for sale. Bob Baker-certified used cars are available at seven county-wide locations, and better yet, at BobBaker.com. Bob Baker Certified Used Cars, the locally owned used car centers at BobBaker.com. Read traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. P1 Ryan. How's it going? Yeah, I'm here. Talk to me about AIS. I just wanted to tell you, you know, I called AIS and talked to a kid named Carlos out of Escondido and they saved me like $700 a quarter on my auto insurance. $700 a quarter? Yeah. I don't know what a quarter is. That's every three months or four months? It's every six months. I don't think that's a quarter, but that's neither here nor there. All right, every six months they save you how much? $600 because I had it suspended on my record when I finally got my license when I was 25 years old. I never drove before. This guy is saving $1,200 a year by switching to AIS. Yep. That's phenomenal, dude. Yeah, I think I might go get some laser icers right now with that money. You should. You might as well. Hey, listen, in all seriousness,
You're writing checks for so much less every month. You can use that money on yourself in a fun way. Yeah, I appreciate it. You know, it really helped me out. I was thinking about it, and I called them, and I went out on a whim, and, you know, they were really cool, and they hooked me up with a good auto insurance dealer and really helped me out. Hey, thank you for calling. Thank you. 800-777-4247. Easy way to remember it, 800-777-4AIS. Roger. Oh, man, I wish I could give you some better news, but it's still looking very tough on our freeways this morning. This rain and the accidents have just made a mess of our commute. So give yourself some extra time. You're still going to need it if you haven't headed out to wherever you're going yet. Eastbound 8, a new injury crash here on the Northbound 163 connector. It's got you backed up here coming out of the valley in towards the 163. On the westbound side of the 8, though, that is still backed up quite heavily. coming out of La Mesa. And that's slow here pretty much from Waring all the way in towards Hotel Circle. And that's because the 5 freeway, trying to get on this 5 is very tough. It starts coming into downtown with the heavy brake lights. It extends past the airport into Mission Bay. South Point of the 15 has not seen a break on this freeway quite yet. Still heavy from the 78 solid all the way down to Miramar. The coaster rides South Point 5. Plenty of brake lights here out of La Costa down to the racetrack in Del Mar.
And again, just be careful out there. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Well, like Jumanji. I don't think that's a real board game. But still, it could be like that kind of concept. Don't laugh at me, Eddie. I don't think it's nice. I'm just saying. He is doing a thing right now where he's putting his hand over his face like he's got blinders. I'm just saying it's a movie based around a board game. That's completely opposite of what they're doing. Well, you don't know. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3 Events.
This keyboard part was played with simply two fingers. Yep. It seems like that would be tough. It does seem like that would be tough. Because there's a lot going on. Well, yeah, I mean. More than just two fingers. Well, he's playing it like it's, you know, that piece of music, Chopsticks. Have you ever heard of that piece of music, Chopsticks? Yes, yes. And I'm just not sure that's the way it went down when they were recording. That'd be right. I mean, how would he? It kind of looks like somebody who's just learning to talk. Yes, exactly. And I just, I would think that more than two fingers would be. That's right. Sometimes I'll play the keyboard with just my thumb and pinky. Is that right? Oh, really? Like you're doing the hang loose sign? Wow, that is talent. It is 9-16. Valerie Bertinelli has admitted to Oprah that she cheated on her former husband, Eddie Van Halen. The Patriots, you guys remember the Patriots, the team that lost in the Super Bowl? Who? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. They decided to not. Now I remember. Yeah, yeah, you know what I'm talking about. 18 and 1. They decided to not franchise tag Randy Moss. Oh. I don't know. If you franchise tag somebody, Scott, that means. It's like tag you're it? No. It means that you are basically guaranteeing that they're going to come back to your team, but you have to pay them within the top five salaries at their position. And it's a guaranteed one-year contract.
Like, out of the whole NFL? Yes. Top five? Yes. Wow, that's a lot of money. And if you choose to not franchise tag somebody, he's a free agent. So now he can go sign with anything he wants. He can go tag someone else. Exactly. Now, they're it, is what you're saying. Once they tag them, then they're it. And you try and run away as fast as you can. Exactly. Well, Mike, I play money tag all the time. That's right. Tag. You're it. Now tag me back. Whatever. So before we went to break, we were talking about Tori Spelling. She's written an autobiography. Oh, great. Can't wait to pick that up. Well, she's talking about 90210. Oh, maybe interesting. She is letting everybody know what was going on behind the scenes of 90210. And she says that, I guess, Shannon Doherty could be a little high maintenance. I thought they were friends. I thought they were, too. Well... She says that Shannon could be arrogant, but also carefree. And a night out with Shannon meant going to the hottest clubs and drinking till the early hours. How revealing. She says she knew that Shannon was a bad influence, but liked her anyways. And then talking about the kind of stuff that would go on between Shannon Doherty and Jenny Garth. She said that one time their fighting got so bad that they actually got into a fist fight. Yeah. It was over Dylan.
I wonder if it was over Dylan. Yep, it was. I think that was just a storyline, you guys. Wow, I don't think that was a storyline. I think it actually happened that way. It did happen. Come on, Tori. What was her name? Donna. What else did she say? Who else is she talking about? She talks about Brian Austin Green and about how they were about the same age. Hype. doing this, and so they would spend a lot of time together, and she kind of alludes that there was something going on. She talks about the big crush she had. David Silver, huh? Yeah, and that they'd always fight and make up, and then fight and make up. They were together on the show. Yes, they were, and now he's engaged to Megan Fox in real life. That is not true. Wrap your head around that, everyone. She's hot. Who's Megan Fox? The hot chick from Transformers. Are you kidding me? Come on. He's engaged to her? Yeah. No way. I don't believe it. It's true. I don't believe it. Continue. It's very true. Regular base. Yeah. And then Tori Spelling also talks about a nickname that Luke Perry gave her. He used to call it... Pie Face. Oh, did he really? That's where it started? No, it's not. No. Hideous Face? Oh, come on now. Cavernous boobs. No. It was a bad... It was a...
bad job. It was a bad boob job. He used to call her camel. Do we want to know why he called her that? Well, she says it's because she has these very long eyelashes. Not what I heard. Very long eyelashes. Was it because of her toes? No, I heard it was the two humps. Oh, well. Her ugly lady humps. I don't know if that's the way this song goes. What is it? So Brittany's dad was crunching the numbers on Brittany and he found out that she has allegedly spent $22 million since her divorce to Kevin Federline. What? $22 million. It's impossible. Think about it. She will buy people Mercedes-Benz, brand new Mercedes-Benz. She will spend
frivolously. Yeah, she bought a furnished house for $7.2 million, spent $200,000 on chandeliers, $250,000 Mercedes for friends. Didn't we see her shopping for said chandeliers? Yes. Uh-huh. Tons of jewelry, cameras, plasma TVs, and a lot of that stuff has now gone missing since that guy Sam has been kicked out of the house. No way. Yeah, according to sources, one of her credit card bills, her American Express bill for one month, just as an example, totaled $225,000. Aye, aye, aye. That's just one of her credit cards for one month. That's for a month? Think of all the Starbucks she buys. It does add up. It does, yeah. She does. They get those Ventis. They add up. They can get up there. That's no big deal, Mike. Stop it, Sean. I've got all my cards maxed out as well. You guys want to hear any more of this, some of this stuff from the, some of these Oscar clips? Oh, yeah.
Let's hear something from the movie Michael Clayton. Cut 48. 30 years I know Arthur. Good years. And what I feel right now, I can't even say it's so awful. You say, not lucky break. Ashley saw it. She said it's really good. And she said that Clooney's acting performance is stunning. It's absolutely stunning. When did I say that? Well, when you were doing it. I never said that. You said that the protagonist in the story is really good. I never got a word in edgewise about that movie. You never let me. And that it was absolutely fantastic. Actually. Oh, it's out on DVD, so everyone can check out the protagonist. This is a clip from the movie Juno, which has become very popular. And I believe in this clip we're going to hear from Jason Bateman. Oh, your favorite. Your favorite.
I have a man crush on Jason Bateman. Look at you. I really do. I think that he is the most underrated actor in Hollywood. I think he's so good and so funny and I wish he was in every movie that comes out. Every movie? And I'd go see them all. Like memoirs to a geisha? Oh, if he was the geisha, I'd be all in. Okay. Here is Vanessa and Mark. He plays Mark. Uh, And they're telling Juno that this is their second try at adoption. Cut 46. We went through a situation before where it didn't work out. Yeah, cold feet. That was great. You know, because I hear they give away babies like free iPods. You know, they pretty much just put them in those t-shirt guns and shoot them out at sporting events. Your parents are probably wondering where you are. I mean, I'm already pregnant, so what other kind of shenanigans can I get into? Ah, shenanigans season. There was not enough Jason Bateman in that clip. Yeah. Sorry, Mike. Nah, he only had a couple of words. It just wasn't enough. He doesn't do a lot of radio either. We've tried to get him on. He doesn't do a lot of radio. No. It's hard to get him on. Dennis Miller has a new game show called Amnesia. I haven't even heard of it. Oh, yeah. Did you know about it, Sky? Well, I just, like, saw something. What channel?
Entertainment Weekly. Yeah, what channel? It's like a major network. It is? I think it's like ABC, maybe. Yeah. I've seen it a few times. Here is Dennis Miller breaking down the show. Cut 54. Amnesia, I would say, is sort of like this is your life meets some sort of a trivia-based game show. So you have to know one subject. You have to know it really well. That subject is you. Not as easy as you'd think. That was as... Hard to understand as any joke that he ever tells. I don't know what the game show is. Here's him opening the show. Cut 53. Do you remember the name of your little league team? How's about your high school locker combination? Or what about your blood type? It's the game show where all the questions are about you. This is amnesia. Then how do you know that you're right? Yeah.
If it's your locker combination, I can give you anything. How are you going to prove what my locker combination was? Oh, that's awesome. I mean, my blood type is easy enough to find out, but all that other stuff. I don't think they would ask unless they knew. I win. Well, I know, but how do they know your locker combination? That's an example he gave. I'm the only person that knew it. Well, it was in your record. Unless you shared it with someone else. It was? Yeah, like didn't, at least at my school, they assigned you your locker and your locker combination. Okay. So, I mean, but I mean, that's a lot of legwork. I mean, they got to go back to the dudes. And you went to a rich school, Skye. What was this, some sort of prep school that you went to? No. Private school. Well, yes. Not a private school. Every student had their own locker made of gold. No, it was a public school. What is she, some kind of princess or something? Skye, what movies are coming out today? Oh, we have a few coming out today. We have Vantage Point. Isn't that the show with Matthew Fox? Yeah. And he plays... He plays some... Let's listen to a scene. This is Matthew Fox. This is Matthew Fox from Vantage Point. Cut 57. You can't give the order.
You've been shot. You don't go now. We risk telling the world that you weren't really there. You weren't there, too. Sir, we get the vice president to do it. No, we are not going to the 25th Amendment. Tell Rick to work up a story I was shot, but I'm okay. It's not gonna fly. Dammit, if we have to go to some hospital and put on a show, that's what we're gonna do. We're not sitting this one out. Sir, we have to talk. I'm done talking! Oh, nice. Sounds terrible. It sounded like 24. Sounds good. It sounded like a high school play, too. Matthew Fox is very irritable. Angry guy. Yeah, we talked to him. He was very angry. Here he is talking about the concept of the movie. Cut 56. The idea that one event can be perceived so differently by two different people, depending on where they're standing and who they are and how they want to perceive it, if they have an agenda to perceive it a certain way. And I think about it in relationship to nation states and sort of like, you know, politics and how things work around the world. It's always amazing to me how people can walk around thinking that the way that they see the world is the only way. And because it's just not the truth. You spit on the interviewer and walked away. Yeah, I heard that. What else is coming out? Be kind, rewind.
starring Jack Black. Have you seen previews for that, Eddie? No. It's so weird. What the heck is it? It looks like an indie movie, and it's really, really weird. Yeah, Jack Black is this guy who tries to sabotage a power plant, and then he ends up getting magnetized, and his buddy works in a video store, so he goes in there, and all the videos in the video store get erased, but this video store only has one... customer who's this like senile old lady so they decide how to trick her is to to tape to redo all of these movies so jack black and his friend are redoing all these like classic movies so this old lady can rent them and watch them that's hysterical so he the scene that you know when i saw the trailer he'll come he comes back and he's like this tape this tape is blank and it's ghostbusters and it's blank so him and his buddy do these real cheesy, like, costumes of Ghostbuster. Right. Made out of, like, tinfoil and stuff like that. Yeah. And run around with a video camera. Yeah. You know, it does look interesting, you know? That sounds funny. Cut 63. Damn it. Start over. Sorry, cut. What? I looked right in the lens. We've got to start over. We can't start over. I look right in the lens. You just have to do one good take, all right? Don't, listen, what you're doing is good. Are you doing good, right? Yeah, just do this. Am I doing great? You're doing great, but don't look. You're doing good, too.
That's them filming Ghostbusters. What else, Skye? Witless Protection. Larry the Cable Guy. Another good one from Larry. Oh, no. That's 66. Welcome, Larry. Oh, Miss Haynes, you look ravishing tonight. Thank you. Do you want your decorators? Must have been busier than a blow-up doll at a frat party. Tell you what, that beef jerky and marmalade ain't sitting too good. Hey, you got a crapper? I got to go pinch out a grumpy. Oh. Not going to be a blockbuster. There you go. Witless protection. All right, don't go anywhere. Ozzy fell down twice on Wednesday. You want to know why? Why he fell down twice on Wednesday? Yeah. We'll tell you right after this. Rock 105.3. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Hey, and great traffic report, Eddie. I'm going to expound on that a little bit. Things are still quite tough on our freeways, but I've eased up quite a bit on some of them as well. We've got the Westbound 8 looking pretty nice in the Mission Valley after a very rough ride this morning.
Just a brief slowdown to the 8.05. You will find some heavy brake lights, though, still from Hotel Circle to the 5 freeway. And that's because that northbound of 5 is still pretty messed up coming out of downtown. Slow and go all the way into Mission Bay. The south on side of the 5 still has some plenty of brake lights here as down the North Kennedy shoreline from La Costa and Salada Beach. South 15, you've got backed up traffic still coming out of Escondido all the way through Rancho Bernardo. Poway down to the 163 split. And coming up out of the South Bay, better-looking things. A little bit on the 805 northbound out of the South Bay, but still smoking the 15. Connect your offer on to Governor Drive with the Golden Triangle. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Featuring Tough Love with Eddie. So your mommy told you that Barack Obama... I don't like his tone. He's gonna... I don't like the tone song, huh? Really? Well, first of all, Mommy Mark... That's my new name for you, Mommy Mark. Anyway, Mommy Mark, your mom needs to actually check the facts. It's actually Hillary who says the 90 days. Dumb stuff your mommy can't even get right. Barack says 16 months. But in your mom's defense, that's also stupid. It's Mikey.
The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. It is 9.36. You want to switch? I mean, Habs. Habs. You want to go Habs on a baby? Jennifer Lopez gave birth to twins just after midnight last night. It's special, like mortadella and all kinds of cool stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Park Place Liquor and Deli brought the greatest sandwiches on the planet. They won best sandwich in San Diego. The answer in the right. They are located at Coronado. They're located on Coronado. Wait a minute. Let's get the wrong address. 1,000 Park Place, Coronado. There we go. Park Place Liquor and Deli, if you're in Coronado, I strongly urge you to stop by there because it really is... Worth the trip. Make the trip. Very, very good stuff. So, did anybody watch Lost? Uh, yeah.
Oh my goodness. Look at everybody in the studio. Freaking out the key ones that are in the studio right now. You guys are Lost fans? What do you make of the last episode? Which part? The part where Locke stuck the grenade in Miles' mouth. Who cares about that? No, no, no. You don't want to play that. Why not? It's boring. You want to play cut 14 or 15. Those were crazy. Okay. Cut 14 or 15. You want to follow me? I'm by for a visit. I actually have to get over to the hospital. Grab some coffee together or something. Why you don't want to see the baby, Jack? Until you want to. Jack and Kate. What baby? Kate said in her flash forward that she has a child. With who? Until Claire's baby. Kate for some reason has Claire's baby in the flash forward. That's crazy. Holy crap. And we know that Jack and Claire are brother and sister. So he must know somehow that that's his nephew.
Oh, no. But why doesn't he want to see him? You're crazy. And he calls her mom. Wait a minute. Why can I not hear that? Are you talking right into that thing? Go ahead. He calls her mom. The baby does. The baby called Kate mommy. P1 Turtle just said, Claire does not get off the island. She's not one of the Oceanic Six. Doesn't seem like it. What do you think of that? I'm really upset right now. Are you freaking out, Skye? Well, I'm sad for Claire. I mean, you know, she loves that baby. Turtle thinks that she dies. Probably. Turtle, can you? I agree with that. She's just giving you her opinions. Oh, but then she says, but don't say it on the air. Oh, okay, good. She says, but don't say it on the air. Good thing you didn't. Well, then forget I said, let's do a flash forward. Flash forward, yeah. You know, just because people don't get off the island doesn't mean they're dead, okay? Everyone. What is the Oceanic Six?
Who are they? We only know four. Who do we know? Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Saeed. And Ben, but he's not part of the Oceanics. Count him in the six. No. He's just an extra. He wasn't on the plane. He wasn't on the airplane. Yeah. Okay. I love how in the flashboards they're all celebrities, too. Yeah. Everyone knows them. It's crazy. What do you think is up? because I want to know stuff that back when I used to be really into Lost, I want to know how some stuff works out. Like, did they ever go into Hurley winning the lottery, the comet hitting his place where he worked, or something hitting his place where he worked on? Like, why he's gone? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not really. Did they ever pay that off? Not really. Do you think they ever will pay that stuff off? Yes, I think everything will be paid off. I'm not worried about it. It will all make sense. Yes. Wow. I love it. Well, Turtle thinks that some of these people are going to stay behind. Of course. I think some of them are going to die real soon. Stop it. Some of your favorite characters, you're saying? Yes. Will no longer be on the show. And Sawyer is in the coffin. And when Kate said in that last episode of last year, I got to get back to him, she was referring to Aaron. Baby Aaron. P1 Mike. Yes. What do you think? Well...
What's crazy is while Jack was on the stand, he said the Oceanic 8, and we've all heard about the Oceanic 6. What? Well, no, he said there were eight survivors of the plane crash. He did not say there was eight people that came back. Well, are you sure? Positive. Positive. Wow. P1 ham salad, are you there? Oh, yes, I love a good ham salad. What's going on, dude? Hey, there's five revealed oceanic flight survivors who have come back. Aaron the Baby is the fifth. Oh, great point. You're a genius. Aaron the Baby was on the plane, but in the belly, so does it count as a person? Yes. No. I think so. I don't know about that. It may not. I don't know about that. It doesn't count. No, no, no. They can't bring back the baby and not count. It's a baby. Baby smart. I think this guy's calling from the island. I think so. Ham salad. Thank you. Oceanic. Okay, this is more from P1 Turtle. Oh, boy. Oceanic 8 lived the crash. Only six come back. That's what I think it was. Okay, but wait, let's talk. Okay. Why is Jack saying only eight people survived the crash? We don't know.
Trying to cover for the people who still stayed on the island? Apparently, that's my guess, yeah. P1 Random? Yeah, Mikey, hi. Your thoughts, please? Yes, well, you were talking about Jack and Claire being brother and sister, but they don't know that they're brother and sister. Not on the island, but this is a flash forward, so by that point, I'm assuming he did. But if that's true, wouldn't Kate refer to Aaron as his nephew? Why won't you come see your nephew? I mean... But at that point, we didn't know it was Aaron, so I'm sure it was shenanigans. Oh, shenanigans. I'm sure this is no surprise to you guys, but P1 Quimby has something to say about all this. Thank you. Quimby. Hello. Hello. Did anybody notice when Jack was on the stand last night that he said that the plane crashed into the ocean and that Kate helped bring everybody to shore? Like, what the
What the heck is that? Like, I think there's some conspiracy with Oceanic Airlines. Oh, definitely. Eddie has a look on his face like, what? I mean, what? That didn't really catch me as odd or weird or anything. Well, why would he say that if that's not true? I just wonder... Well, the tail section did. No, that, well... Oh, really? He's claiming that they crashed in the ocean. You gotta hear me out, okay? He said that the entire plane crashed in the ocean. If you remember a few episodes back, there's the plane. In the ocean. There is something that Ben is holding over everybody's heads. And everybody, there's a lot of people still back on the island because everybody, Hurley, Jack, keep saying that they have to go back. Yeah, I agree. Yeah. P1 Noodles. Yeah, what's going on, Mikey? Whose baby do you think it is? I think it might be Sawyer's because Kate kind of put him up to the old, I'll trick you into taking him.
It's not her baby. It's Erin. It's Claire's baby. Oh, for goodness sake. John, are you there? Yeah. What happened to Walt's dad? He took off to go find Walt. His name's Michael. First of all, that's not what happened. They were together and they left the island together. Thank you. And we don't know what's going on with him, but we know that the actor is coming back this season. Not Walt, but Michael's coming back. So we'll find out what the deal is with him coming up. This has already been said kind of, P1 Michelle, but go ahead. Say it again. Well, I was just going to clarify. I think that they might be passing off then as one of the people that was on the plane. Like if there was someone that maybe died that nobody, that he didn't have family alive to prove that that wasn't him. he could say that he was someone on the manifest and they brought Ben back. Rema's shaking her head no. I just don't think so. I think Ben is too covert and he's too manipulative and he's too smart. He's not going to become a public figure. Off the grid. Yeah, there's no way. I don't know. It's very questionable. Everything's questionable. I also think that Ben is the poor man's... What is that guy, Eddie, that I always say... Who is the villain in Seven? Kevin Spacey.
He's the poor man's Kevin Spacey. He kind of is. He kind of is. But he's a good actor. I like him. He's smart. I love Ben. I love him. Turtle has finally decided to just call him. Finally? Thank you. Enough with the instant message. Yeah, I mean, just say it. Don't spray it, Turtle. Good morning, everybody. Good morning. But, yeah, I don't think that Claire not only doesn't make it off the island, I don't think she lives. She loves her son too much. And Kate is such an honorable woman that if... If Claire had lived, I think that they would have verbally confirmed that. I don't think Claire lives past the next season. I agree with you. That's just my opinion, but I think Eddie is right. I think a lot of people choose to stay on the island, and that's why they come up with the Oceanic Aids. Why would they choose to stay on the island? Well, there's guys like Sawyer who don't really have anything to return to. You've also got a lot of determination to figure out. Once you get off the island, Rose still has cancer, Locke still can't walk. These possibilities you have to still think about. Yes, you do, Turtle. There's a lot of people who, and when these new people come to the island, there's just going to be a lot of bad stuff happening, and I'm going to guarantee that half of the people decide that they don't want to have anything else to do with the real world, and they want to stay exactly where they are. That's right.
Just like all of us. I'm going to throw a little crazy thing. Don't do it, Eddie. I can tell by the lip on your face. You're going to screw everyone up in the head. After watching last night's episode, I'm starting to kind of think now that maybe Locke is in the coffin. Oh. That's the first person I thought of. Thank you. Him and Kate had a little falling out yesterday. And so it makes me kind of think, well, you know, she doesn't like Locke anymore. So maybe that's why she said, like, well, why would I go to that funeral? There's a lot of stuff there. No, he doesn't believe, so. Well, and he was virtually suicidal before he went to the island. If he goes back and his legs, you know, back to the way they were. P1 matches, give your theory real quick. Hey, Ben said that he had a spy on the boat. I think it's Michael, because he sent Michael in that one specific bearing, which is
The same thing that the guy told the helicopter pilot to go to. And so I think he sent Michael on that ferry. That's a hell of a theory. That's a great theory. Oh, I like that. Yeah, so he got this. Bye. Bad props. Yep, word up. Turtle is still IMing. I mean, give me a break for crying out loud. This is the Mikey Show. Get downloads and podcasts at rock1053.com. And now they dropped it down to practically $150 a month. And I had SR22 from a DUI. Ooh, and they still did that for you? Absolutely. Nice. See, that's a great thing. I cannot thank you enough. K-I-O-Z! I didn't even get to! You didn't get to. Hit it. Welcome back, everybody. K-I-O-Z! You got to. K-I-O-Z, San Diego. K-I-O-Z! Let's see. I want to hear... Okay.
There was no reason for that, Sean, and you know it. What? Barbara Walters was on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Oh, boy. And he was asking her about Fidel Castro. Cut 28. He was smoking Cohiba cigars. He blew smoke. It's amazing that I didn't get acute bronchitis. And when we finished, it was 1.30 in the morning, and he took us into the kitchen off his office and made grilled cheese sandwiches. So Fidel Castro makes a mean grilled cheese sandwich. Let me tell you, Conan, the best grilled cheese sandwiches ever. Oh, please. This is lying. No, they weren't. It was just a grilled cheese. There was nothing that was extraordinary about it. Now, my wife... makes a great grilled cheese. Really? Do you want to know the secret to a great grilled cheese? Ham. Well, of course. Oh, really? Skye's eating one right now. Skye, how does that thing taste? Not ham. It's good. Oh, good. Awesome. But my wife, she does a grilled cheese sandwich where she uses two types of cheese. She uses American or cheddar or whatever. Right. But then she has this trick.
Where she puts herb-flavored cream cheese. Really? Dude. That doesn't sound good to me. Oh, dude. No, no, no. No, thank you. You don't understand. It is so good. Can you tell her to make me one? Yes. Okay. Yes. It's too bad that you can't, like, refrigerate it and eat it for leftovers. Yeah. But I'm telling you, that's a good grilled cheese sandwich. She's the queen of grilled cheese because that's all she eats. That's all she eats. So she knows her grilled cheese is pretty good. Who's coughing? Sean, listen, it's okay. Leave Jason alone. He's been a perfect guest. It's P1 Jason. He's been a gentleman. Are you kidding me? He's been blabbing all morning. He hasn't been blabbing. Dude, he practically took over the show during the 7 o'clock hour. That's not fair, Sean. It's totally true. He didn't take over the show. He barely talked at all. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I know it'll make Sean feel better. Oh, yes, you're right. Right now? Much better. Why did you think that? Because it's raining out. Skye, you like the show. Sometimes we don't get the questions right. You like it more than I do. What? The Dumb Chick Challenge. This is where we take the three dumb chicks on the show. Skye, Ashley, and Boston Rob. We ask them very...
Eddie, how do we put this? Easy. Easy questions. Idiot proof. Obviously not. I know. Idiot. Well, we assign a point value to these questions. One, two, and three point questions. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. First person to five points is the winner. It's very easy to play. So what you do is you call in, you pick a horse. You're either going to pick Skye, which is a good bet. She's won a lot in the last few weeks. Or Ashley, who's won actually once. Or Boston Rob. Boston Rob's pretty smart. He's a great bet. A mini-mini. There's like certain things that Rob is good at. Yeah. Like history. He's pretty good at history. Definitely. But once you deviate from that, he's kind of stupid. That is true. Yeah. That is not true. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know more than history. Like what else you know? I don't know. Cabbage. P1. P1 Ryan, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Can you hear me opening up this Diet Coke bottle? No. Okay. Ryan, who would you like to select? I think I'd like to go with Boston Rob. You got it. Ryan. Smart choice. How dare you, Ryan. Yeah, smart. I'll remember that. P1 Steve. What up, bro? Who do you want? My beautiful girl, Ashley.
Hang on. This guy's so bad right now. You want Nick? People just don't get it. Nick, you don't get it. No, Nick does get it. He's the only one who does get it. He's forced to take you. No, he's not. He was going to pick me the whole time. Nick, who would you like to select? I guess I have to go with Scott. What's the matter with you? I'm going to lose now. I'm going to sabotage you, Nick. Don't do that. He gets no prizes. He gets no prizes. I believe Rob started first last time. No. I believe Ashley started first last time. No. I believe Skye started first last time. You are correct. Wow, how do you remember that? You know what? Sometimes things just come to me, and that was one of those times where it just popped into my head. Yeah, man. It did the third time. Ashley, you got this one, girl. One. Oh, no. What the? I like it. I like it. Overconfident. Like your style. Good strategy. That was not confident. Oh, was it? I thought it was overconfident. It was not confident. Come on, Ash. You can do this. Are you ready? Ashley. What? What woman is on the silver dollar coin? You got that. No, that's easy. You got that. Done.
Martha Stewart. What woman? Yes. Gwen Stefani? Shana? Um... She should be. I don't know. Oh, Ash. Bergie. Ashley, it's Susan B. Anthony. Anthony? Who is that? No, yeah. Susan B. Anthony. She's a very famous patriotic American. Didn't she sell the flag, too? No. That would be Betsy Ross. That was Betsy Ross. Ah, yeah, that one. We should have saved that one. Rob, what do you want? A one, two, or three-point question? That one was tough. It was? I'm like, silver dollar, Sacagawea. That's who I was thinking, too. You guys both thought Sacagawea? Uh-huh. But that's not silver. I didn't know, like, where's the silver dollar?
Are those in circulation? Yes. Have you ever seen one? Never. I've never seen one. Well, he's never had a dollar, guys. Very true. I barely see the paper ones. I can tell you who's on a penny. Plus, he's so small, he wouldn't be able to pick it up. That's true. That's true. Well, they've actually photographed me next to a silver dollar on the scale. Sorry, Rob. All right, enough. Enough. Rob, what do you want? A one, two, or three point? Come on, Riz. Give me a two. A two point question. Wait. What's wrong, Eddie? You want me to go for a three? That's cool. Do what you want. All right, fine. Two. Two it up. No. Okay, fine. You got it, Eddie. Two. All right, Boston Rob. In what game would you use? A rook. Oh, no. Hold on. Wait. It was like instant recognition and then, uh-oh. That didn't sound good. Because I'm like, I want to say chess, but Rook, I'm like, but I was in prison dominoes. I know it's not throwing bones. Rook. Wasn't she the star of Blue Lagoon? Yeah, Rook Shields. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm going to go with chess. You are correct. I love playing chess. I love weed. I love playing chess. I love Rook. All right.
Skye. I love Lamp. Yeah. Now, come on. Now, you're not going to do this every time that 2-2-1. You need to switch it up. Come on. You got to switch it up, Skye. Switch it up. Skye, you don't have to do anything. Skye, at least switch it to 1-2-2. Yeah. Skye, don't do anything that you don't want to. One time. All right. I'll have a two. All right. You jerk. All right, Skye. You jerk. You talked me into it. Damn it. Skye always goes 2-2-1. She may go 2-1-2. Would you be superstitious about going 2-1-2? Can you get out of my business? I haven't won in a long time. I think I won last time. I'm always winning everything. All right, Skye. What up, Mike? Your two-point question is... Yeah, yeah. What was the name of the African-American candidate running for president in 1988? Oh, man, she looks like something stunk in the room. She got to look at it like, P.U.? I don't like this stinky question. I was 11. I was really involved in politics. Barack Obama is the only one I know. Denzel. Let's see. Let's run Roman over. Danny Glover. These are all the black guys I like. I wouldn't have voted for anybody with those guys. I got it. Wesley Snipes. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I don't know, Mike.
It was Jesse Jackson. Oh, he ran for president? Oh, wow. That would have been a good guess, though. I should have thought that. Yeah. To guess him. Well... Idiot! Sky... What happened to you? I suggest... I would go one next time, Sky, and then go back to the two. I would get out of my business. All right. Listen, I'm just offering advice. I'm just telling you. It's not easy. It's not easy. Come on, Ashley! You can do this, Ash. You can do this. Two. No, it's Ash. Drive it home with a three. You get those three-pointers. Why do you care? I want to see you succeed. I'm rooting for Steve. Quit fighting, you guys. Stop fighting. He started it all morning long. I haven't done anything to him. I'm not fighting you! Leave it, Mike. There's some glossing over this morning that I didn't see. What do you do now? Come on, guys. It's Fun Day Friday. Are you sure it's not a free beer Friday? I mean, for goodness sake. That'd be cool. Let me think about that. Ashley? Yes. Your two-point question is, in which high school class do teachers use the phrase, the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog? You got this. Come on. You got this. That was up Skye's alley.
Quick brown fox over the lazy dog. QBFLD. Quick brown fox over the lazy... Science. Hunting 101. Science made me laugh. Science made me laugh. Oh, that's not right? That is not right. That's why you laughed, because I got it wrong. That's good. No. I saw that. That's why that happened. I said... Why do you hate her? He hates me. I don't know. I told her take a three because I was hating on her. Put down the hate raid, bro. Let's move on. She's a human being. Don't you do this, Eddie. Don't you do this. What's the answer, Mike? Don't you do this to me. The answer is, wow, that was a strange sound effect. The answer is typing. She's very close to science.
It's going on right now. Boston Rob. Come on, dude. I like that one. Just kidding with that one, even if I get it wrong. One, two, or three points. I'm going to try to wrap it up with a three, but I ain't confident at all. Wrap it up. Why? There's nobody else's score. Oh, really? Sky. Isn't this y'all supposed to be over at 10? I want to make a statement before I read this question. Oh, no. Oh, no. Eddie, I want you to read what the question is because I don't want anybody to think shenanigans was going on. Which number? The question that I'm going to ask. Because when I ask this question, they're going to go, it's so easy. It's so easy. Yeah. Should that be a three-pointer, Eddie? Well, that's not the deal, Eddie. Oh, that's not the deal. Should I pick a different question or do I give him that question? Is the question about me? It's the next one on the list. Okay.
What's your name? It's fair. It's fair. Now I'm not going to get it. You guys put all this pressure on me. Come on, Rob. Wrap this up. Rob, what's the name of the day? What is the name? Oh, look at him. He's got his hands up to his face. Now I'm serious. Rob, what's the name of the day set apart in the U.S. for planting trees? Rob Ringden. Hold on. Yes, Rob. Go ahead. Ashley, do you know what this is? Is he kidding me right now? No, no, no, because I got two trains of thoughts. I either got... Sky, do you know? Two trains of thoughts? Yeah, how do you say that, Sean? A couple trains of thoughts. He's going to barf when he hears this. No, because it's either Earth Day or Labor Day. Okay, which one would you like to select? No, no, no, based on Sky's reaction, it's neither.
Dude, don't let her get in your head. Don't let her get in your head. Can you read the question one more time? What's the name of the day set apart in the U.S. for planting trees? Tree planting day? No, hold up. Don't be dumb, Rob. Is it Earth Day? Yes. I mean, you didn't come with the whole, hey, this isn't a setup. Honestly, I thought that if I gave that question that everybody was going to scream foul and say, Give me a break. What's your biggest famous line that you've ever said on the show? I just talked to an arborist. Arborist. Arborist day? Arbor day. I never even heard of that. I'm sure. I didn't. And it's Arbor day then if you guys watch this. You're over modulating. You're ridiculous Rob. Earth Day, that's when you plant plants and you're not supposed to smoke and all that. You're not supposed to smoke. What are you talking about? The Eddie line is ringing. Again today? Oh, no. Hello? I mean, is he stupid? Oh, Barbara, I don't disagree with you. Is he the stupidest person ever? You would think so. He said the art list. I know. Why would he say that?
Robert, are you there? Yeah, I'm here, Barbara. What's up, Babs? What happened? Why did you, uh, why were you so stupid there? Well, you don't need to call me stupid. Well, you are. Do you even know when Arborist Day is? Arborist Day? I do know when Arborist Day is. I beg to differ. Go ahead and shoot that at me, then. Hillary Clinton in 08. Oh, come on. That was Barbara. That was Barbara. Yeah, we know why she was calling now. All right. Skye, that means that it's up to you. Skye, go one. Skye, go one and then two. Go one and then two. Take the lead. Go three. Yeah, I'm going three. Skye. Yeah, Nick, take that. Yes, yes. Oh, wow. She's so dumb. Oh, no. Skye in 1995. I was only like 26 then. No, that was the year I graduated high school. 1995. All right, Skye. Oh, boy. In 1995, Shannon Faulkner. Shannon Doherty, you mean? No. No, no, no. Because I would know that. In 1995, Shannon Faulkner. Yeah. Became the first female cadet to enter what South Carolina military college? Just give it to her, why don't you? Yeah, because that face said. Pretty much. I mean, that's.
The ham? Is it the ham then? Military college in South Carolina. Harvard school. That ham's good. Eddie, why would I know it's the black man school? Roman U. Is there a Ty Diggs college? Is there such a thing? Is it Ty Diggs? University of Hot Dog. Hot Dog A&M. Easy. We know you. Better believe I graduated from there. I think I was 12. Easy, Eddie. We're the honors. Okay. A lot of extra credit. Skye is still thinking about this one. She might come up with it. There's something knocking around up there. Zero chance. I say there's an 8% chance. No, zero. She's still thinking.
All right, 4%. Yeah, I'm... It's in there. I'm thinking like... It's going up now. Point something. 65%. Cape something. 43%. Cape fear. Pleasure point. 2%. Police Academy, Mike. Fort Knox. No. Fort Knox. Fort Knox. Fort Dixon. Fort Wahili. Sacagawea. Build me a fort. I don't know, Mike. I accidentally fought it. Oh, boy. Sky, it's the Citadel. What the heck is that? The Citadel. That's not a place, Mike. That's the Citadel. That's not a place. It is a real place. It is not. You're making things up, and that's not fair. I don't remember that story. It was huge. My dearest Ashley. I was a senior in high school. What do you think? What do you think I was doing at that time? Reading the Washington Post? Because that's what you had to do to know that story. Perusing CNN. Perusing? What do you think I was doing? I'm not a scientist, Eddie. Who do I work for? NASA? Yes. I don't have a PhD. For goodness sake. I'm not in Mensa. I don't have a PHM.
Ashley, would you like a one, a two, or a three-point question? Now, I was trying to support you last time and say go for a three. Oh, you weren't supporting her. I was. I said go for a three. You get those right a lot of the times. I think she should go for a three, but... Then I will go for a three. All right. I will attempt to make up with you. Your three-point question is... See how you just ignored that? Oh, no. The... Eddie. I don't... These are her attempts to get us to discuss this on the air. I will not do it. It is not. That's not true. Tell her I'm not going to discuss it. He's not going to discuss it. But how am I supposed to pretend like everything's okay when it's not? But Eddie, I can't discuss on the air. No, I don't want you to. I just am saying. I'm talking to Eddie. Excuse me. Eddie. Call him on the Eddie line. Maybe you should call him. Eddie, I'm going to call you, okay? I look forward to your phone call. I couldn't get that number. I'm going to answer this. Are you there, dude? Hello? Oh, are you there? Who's this? It's Mike. Hey, what's up, Mike? Not too much, bro. Cool. What's going on, man? First of all, I'm glad I can call in. No problem. I'm glad I could talk to you. First time, long time. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
this deal I cannot talk to Ashley about on the air. You know, she's the bad girl. She seems like she's upset with you. Well, I think the deal is I'm upset with her. Oh, so it's mutual. It is mutual. But I didn't notice you carrying it on the air like she sort of is. That is true, Eddie. That is true. That's interesting. But no matter... And haven't you told her not to do that? Maybe about a billion times. Okay, okay. I'm just trying to get this... I mean, I'm taking notes here. She's so emotional, Eddie. I don't know what to do about it. That is true. Hang on a second. Barbara's here. She wants to talk to you. Oh, good, Barbara. Oh, wow. I have suggestions. Yes, Barbara. Why are you with Mikey? Never mind. I don't want to talk to you. Ashley, are you there? No. Go to TJ and just get lots of psychotropic drugs. That's your answer for everything, Barbara. I mean, it's not working. Any of the psychotropics will work. No. I think she's already on some. Sorry, guys. That was Barbara. Okay. Anyway, yeah, I can't talk about her. Well, Mike, I sympathize with... Guys, I gotta go. Okay, guys, I'm back. Hey, what's up, dude? Not too much. It's Ashley's turn. Oh, Ash is up. This is getting uncomfortable, you think? Ash, whom I will not discuss anything on the air with. I didn't want you to. Would you like...
Ash, can you hear me? I'm being so supportive. I'm being so supportive, Eddie. But I'm being so... She chose three. Ask her the question. Maybe some Benny Hill music? No. Hey! I don't know. If that'll help, I'll do it. It might help. She's clearly menstruating. No. No. Very special episode of the Mikey Show. Okay, guys. Well, I'm going home. This is again uncomfortable. I'm just telling you, sometimes the whole... That attitude... What I'm saying is when she does this, when she's yelling at me like this. So to review, Ashley, zero points. Boston Rob, two points. Sky, zero points. Yes. In your face, Sky. Ashley, your three-point question is... I hope she gets it. The outermost layer of skin is more commonly known as what? Ooh, ooh, ooh. Your face.
It's, uh, Mike's a jerk. Yeah. Is it death to Mexicans? Look at his face. It's a dead part of the skin. Oh. No. Oh. Yes, you do. You do, too. When I say it, you're going to know it. It's the epidermis, Ash. Oh. The epidermis. Don't you get that when you're pregnant? Ash, you didn't feel anything. I'm ready for the epidermis. Give me that epidermis. Put that thing in there. All right. Rob, you better get this right and put us all out of our misery. I'm going for it, too. He's the best. I will kill you. He is the best. You're the worst. Robert. Rob, are you serious?
I messed around with the three last time, and I learned my lesson. You're a smart man. Rob, 52 U.S. diplomats were held hostage for 444 days in the early 1980s by what country? Oh, I should have finished the story. That sounds good. 52. They were 52 arborists, you said? Oh, wait, can you just give me the question again? Mike, just tell me what a diplomat is. No, no, no. Give me the answer, please. Michael, why don't you and Ashley go back to fighting? Yeah, that was much more entertaining. One more time. I think I could take a good guess on this. 52 U.S. diplomats were held hostage for 444 days in the early 1980s by what country? I believe that was Boston, Mike. In the early 80s, you say? Oh, my God. I'm just trying to... Everything takes an hour for this guy to answer your questions. Listen, I just watched on the History Channel about hostages, but it wasn't 52 of them. He takes so much time to answer questions. It's infuriating. Oh, he takes so much time. Damn it! Well, I'm trying to think of who we had conflict with in the 80s. I can't...
You guys put so much pressure on me to be this smart, smart guy. Mike, is it the rusher? I'm going to say, let's pick a country here. Oh, man. Rob, please, I beg you to give me an answer. I don't know. Venezuela. That is not correct. That is not correct. Rob, it was actually Iran that we were having this conflict with Iran. I took people hostage. In the 80s? Yep. The day that Ronald Reagan was sworn in, they let him go. Oh, yeah, I remember that. That's right. No, I swear to God I do. For the record, Skye's little feetsies are sticking up over the board right now in her socks. Very cute. Come on, Skye, you can do it right here. What do you want? A one, two, or three-pointer? A three-pointer. Hey, dude! I think she can do it. She's not smart. Skye, fat man and little boy.
Were the two names given to what in World War II? Mike and Boy Blunt. Fat Man and Little Boy were the two names given to what in World War II? Yes! Put it on the board. You did it. Now, how many does she need to win the game, Eddie? She still needs two more. Now I'm going for three. Ashley still has no points. Ashley. One. Oh. I have faith in you, girl. I do, too. Are you guys going to lunch after this? Yeah. Cool. No, we are not. No, we're going to, we're traveling together to Disneyland. Cool. How fun. That should be a really. You're like a park hopper. That's right. We are not doing that. Mm-hmm. Ashley, your one-point question is.
What is the most northwestern state? I don't know. Salad. Whatever. Okay. Fine. Eisenhower. What? I don't know. Tattoos. Yes. I don't. Pork rinds. What? I don't know. Charlotte, North Carolina. What? The Eiffel Tower. Whatever. I'm wrong. What is the most northwestern state? Sandwiches. Jimmy. In the United States. Big bang. Bang. Peanut brittle. Move on, all right? I don't know. How about you, a fag, Mike? Is that the answer? Did I get that one wrong, bro? Did I get it wrong, bro? Easy guy. Holy moly. How about you, a big fat lesbian face? Mike, is that on the list there? That's L in your tongue.
Ashley, the most northwestern state in the United States is? She's pointing. She's in there drawing a map with her fingers. She's eliminating some. That is correct, Ashley. Sean signed off about an hour ago. We need the effects. Are you joking? He's got to go at 1030. We all know that. We all know that he's got to go at 1030. Radio show. Ding. Ding. Thanks, Mike. You're welcome. What are you going to do for the loser? Oh, wait. I got an effect. That's a wrong answer. Here's a correct. Okay. And Rob, give me the wrong answer. There you go. All right. So we have our effects. We're ready to go. Okay. So now, Rob, would you like? No. Don't give yourself a wrong answer yet. Come on, Rob. Get the win. One, two, or three points. I need three. Three. Let's do three.
Stop it. Your three-point question is, who was the leader of the Soviet Union during World War II? Stalin. Congratulations, Rob. You won the dumb chick challenge. Again. It was slow. And that means that P1, Ryan, you are a winner. Ryan, are you there? I'm here. Okay. Oh, boy. All right. Eddie, what did he win? Something. Good advice. Hang on the line, Ryan. Let's go. Come on. Tunnel. Tunnel. Did I forget anything big here? No, you're good. Tunnel. Tunnel. You sure? You guys don't want to go over something? Testimony. There's a light at the end of the world. So anyway, Brangelina. No. What? Looks like Jamal Lewis restarted. You're not. All right, fine. Let's go. Yeah, we need to today. We need to wrap it up? Yes. Man, Seth really brings a mood down. Oh, no. Seth.
This is over there in the fetal, dude. Leave him alone. You just know what's going on. 570-1053 is our phone number at the beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment. You can call in about anything you want. Today was a doozy, huh? Well, listen. You know what? It's great weather outside, huh? Yep. There's a bright spot. That's right. There's always a bright spot. Yep. Today it's the weather. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, Mikey. What's up? This is P1 Saran Wrap. You can put Saran Wrap in the microwave because it acts like a steamer for your vegetables. Hey, man, I'm completely down with that. It was Sky that says it gives you all kinds of cancer. I'm also wondering if Sky wraps are hot dogs and Saran Wrap. That's a great question, Sky. No, I don't want cancer, so stop it. No, she did not. She didn't. I'm going to take that as a no.
Mikey Show. If you had been in a bad car accident and you hurt your hand and crushed one of your bones, would you have it replaced with bone from your hip and take months to heal or use a bone from a cadaver? That is a great question. Well, the question here is would you take something from a dead person? Duh. Absolutely. Are we talking money? Well, hang on. This is the reason it's such an interesting question. What are we talking about? The reason it's so interesting is because it's not life. It's not like you've got to have a heart. It's just one of those things you could very easily opt to not have to go the grody way. I would.
Cadaver bone? No, I would not. I would not go cadaver bone. I would go my own. Skye, you would go cadaver? Yeah. Why am I going to have to open up my hip, shave bone off my hip to put in my hand when there's a dead guy's hand that's going away? Because you're going to think about it. I will not. I don't give a rip. You will. We'll remind you. You know what I would think about? We'll be like, hey, dead guy hip, how you doing? Dude, I would think that it would probably give me like superpowers or something. No, your hand will start doing things that the dead guy did. That's right. And the dead guy committed. murder and then your hand's going to start committing murder. Dude, what if this guy was like a pro dice thrower? Yeah. A pro dice thrower? Yeah, I would like move to Vegas and just roll dice for a living. There are no professional dice throwers. This guy's like this all the time for no reason. Mike, I think that's probably something else. So Skye says she would opt for the cadaver. What do you guys think John would do? Who? John. Sean? Oh, please. Come on. Come on, lady. Two things going on there. One, it's not a dead person's. Two, it means pain meds definitely going. Definitely going for the hip. His hips don't lie. That's right. You got that right. Mikey Show, hello. Red Baron. Thank you. Mikey Show, hello. I was talking to you. Hey, Mikey T-Rex, what's happening? Hey, it's T-Rex. Oh, hello.
Hey, I heard you guys talking about celebrities earlier today. Yeah, we pointed you out, man. I said T-Rex had it go well when he asked Troy Aikman in the toilet for his autograph, but that could have gone really south really quick. That's true. I have the ultimate celebrity for you. Oh, no. Here we go. Back in 1984 when I was a senior. Some guy was having a heart attack. He was famous, and you said, can you sign this? It was John Candy. He was in the act of dying, and T-Rex... Eddie, you can't give me the face. Go ahead, T-Rex. My best friend's dad had a party for his son who was about two years old at the time. So he invited a couple, I guess, some stars in. And one of the stars, I have a picture of him right now in my... On my shelf in my pool room. With my best friend throwing a left jab to his chin. And me standing on the side of his shoulder with my mouth wide open. My eyes bugged out and said, it was Muhammad Ali. No way. Whoa. Yeah. No way. That's cool. It's very cool, man. Yeah, it was awesome. And I sparred with him for about five minutes. Come on. And I was kind of jumping around, trying to throw some moves on him.
And all of a sudden, I threw a right-hand jab, and he threw this combination so quick, three, four right, and at my face. And the guys were surrounded by a bunch of people. And they were just like, oh, my goodness, you better watch out. He's going to knock you out. That's pretty cool. Look at that. T-Rex got the shadow box with Muhammad Ali. That's unbelievable. Wow. Yeah, it was awesome. T-Rex, not very many people can tell that story. Nope, I still have the picture today to prove it. Next time we see you, bring that. I want to see that, man. I really do. I want to see that. Okay, I'll bring it in one day for you. All right, T-Rex. Okay, hey, can I come in on a Friday, one of these weekends? Of course you can, man. You're a Hall of Famer. All right, thanks. You got it. He's a good guy, man. T-Rex is a good guy. Every Friday at the end of the show, I give you my testimony, meaning that I tell you about how I came to know Christ the way that I know him today. And it was just like anything that's worth anything, it came with a lot of pain. You know, a lot of times people are able to achieve great things, but almost every single time somebody does that, it usually came through a lot of pain. And it was definitely that way for me. I was addicted to alcohol. I was laying in bed one night, and I was absolutely 100% positive that I was going to die very young. And it wasn't very long ago. It was in...
In 2004, I knew that I was going to die very young because I could feel my body deteriorating quickly because of where I was in my drinking. And so lying in bed that night with tears streaming down the side of my face, I asked Jesus Christ into my life and asked him to save my life and to do something with me. And he did. But it wasn't just the relief of being an alcoholic. There was other things that were happening in my life that he changed as well. At that point, I was pretty morally bankrupt. I was living my life in a way that was not conducive to him. And slowly but surely, over the course of time, he changed me. And I started to give different things up, different parts of my personality up. Now, the reason that I mention this is because, and the reason I do this every Friday,
is because I know that there are people that are listening right now that may be experiencing one of the following. Maybe you're going through a divorce with your husband or your wife, or maybe you have lost someone or something very important to you. Maybe you lost a pet and it's just killing you. Or maybe you lost a mother and a father, a mother or a father, or you've lost, God forbid, one of your children, a relative that's very close to you. Or a very dear friend. Maybe you're here in San Diego. You've just moved here from somewhere. And you're all alone. And you just feel extraordinarily lonely. Or your husband or your wife is deployed. And you feel loneliness that you've never felt before. And it's so consuming. The loneliness is so consuming that you can't think of anything else. Maybe you're listening to my voice right now. And you spend the majority of your days crying.
For whatever reason. The reason that I do this on Fridays. Is to let you know. That there is hope. And if I was able to find that hope. You can find that hope. Through the power. Of just very simply. Right now if you're struggling. And you're like. I feel like there's no hope. I'm listening to this dude on the radio. But you know what man. He doesn't know me. He doesn't know my story. He doesn't know how bad it is. It's real bad. He just doesn't realize it. Well I'm telling you that I do. And I've been there. And that. If you admit that you're a sinner and that you do things that are wrong, that you sin, you admit what they are, and you ask to be forgiven of those sins, they're just washed away. Like they're gone. They're done. They're dead. You're dead to them. And you ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and have a relationship with you, your life has changed forever. And you're what they call saved. It can potentially change the rest of your life. And suddenly it's not as dark as it used to be. And suddenly there's light.
And hope. So that's why I play this song at the end of the show on Friday. It's by Third Day, the same band that came in on Wednesday. Gosh, we had a good time with them, man. They were so cool. And the last album they did is called Wherever You Are. And every single song on that album, every single one had a theme. And the theme was hope. So whether you're addicted or whether you're lonely or whether you're going through grief of losing somebody or you can't pay your bills, or anything else that I haven't mentioned that you're going through some sort of misery in, just know that there is hope. Please listen to the words of the song. Just really listen to the words of the song. Even if you've heard it a thousand times, listen to the words of the song and really let them sink in. The song is called Tunnel. We will see you again on Monday. Loveland Top of Missy is up next. The Mikey Show is out. We'll see you Monday. Bye. Don't pretend to know what you're thinking. And I can't
again to know what you're going through.
