Later, Boston Rob debuted his quirky original song about February being unfair, sparking a flood of humorous texts and calls. The program then shifted to serious topics, including a lawsuit against Morgan Freeman for a drunk-driving accident and a heated discussion about the Slumdog Millionaire child actors still living in poverty despite the film's success. Throughout the episode, callers shared personal savings stories from AIS insurance and promoted resources like foreclosure lists, while lighter bits covered a Southwest plane bikini promotion and a Cheater's Hotel confrontation.

607, it's a Mikey show on a Thursday, and the phone lines are open. 570-1053 is the number of five people on the Mikey show. It's me, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, and Boston Rob. And an intern phone screener du jour. It's usually a different phone screener. We have interns doing the phone screening. And so we'll have kind of a different phone screener each day. And you can call us at 570-1053. And I forgot the text, too. TextMikey at gmail.com. TextMikey at gmail.com. We would love to see what you have to say by text message. It's a great way to communicate with us. And the way that you do it is that you load it into your cell phone. Just go into your cell phone where you would normally have a text address book or something like that. I don't know how your phone works. But just put in there textmikey at gmail.com and your text messages will get to us and we can read them on the air. Paula Abdul is a big thing today. Lady, man. I know. She's really something else. And she's made these comments that...
Skye, you say they're kind of being taken out of, she says they're being taken out of context? Well, yeah, of course. Just like, you know, with most celebrities when they open their big stupid mouths, you know, and then people call them on it, they come back, go, oh, no, no, no. I mean, yes, technically I said that, but really I meant something else. You're taking it out of context. Yeah, so that's what's going on with Paula Abdul this morning. So what were the comments? Well, this is all in regards to the brand new fourth judge on American Idol. Oh, Unnecessary. Yeah, her name is Unnecessary. Oh, wow. That's her name. I love her. I love her. Yeah, you know, and supposedly her and Paula are great friends and girl power. And, you know, when it was announced there was going to be this fourth judge, Paula is so happy. Is that true? Is there a, have they created a buzz from one or the other that they're good friends? I read an article about her, Cara Diaguardi, and apparently she lived with Paula Abdul before. Are you kidding? Yeah, she's lived at Paula Abdul's house. Roommates? Yeah, well, you know, when Cara came out and was writing music and was trying to get into the industry, I guess she either worked with Paula or somehow got connected with Paula and started living at her house. Well, who hasn't? So they've known each other for quite a long time. Who knew?
Yeah, so they got this girl power friend thing going on, but Paula in a recent interview was saying, well, you know, her and Kara, they get along great. But then she goes on to say, quote, we tried four judges before and it doesn't work. It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show, end quote. She's right. Couldn't agree more. She's right. She is dead on. You guys. My conspiracy brain is going crazy right now. What do you got up there? Oh, all sorts of things. Really? Okay. What? I have a theory that, man, I'm even getting crazy theories right now. Like all this Paula whacked out stuff is fake. I'm even getting that. Really? That it's something that they've invented as a... As a buzz, as a thing to get people talking and to create... No way. To create excitement and to create... No, you can't fake that. To create... Mike. I think you could. I think you could. I think you could. But, like, every night...
I think it's possible. I think it's possible. I'm saying that if I wanted to, every once in a while, I could make it sound like you're not sure. You're faking it. I'm telling you. Because your eyes aren't dilated. I don't see her eyes dilated, honestly. I can tell. She's definitely got that droopy eyes. They're always kind of closing. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do a thing where you're not sure. I can do a thing where you're not sure. Can you make one eye kind of wander? Listen, I can do it. I think she can too. She's not that smart. It doesn't take smart. It just doesn't take smart. It doesn't take smart. No way. I don't think she's kidding. Why are you going there? The reason I'm going there is because when Sky said that when you guys are talking about they knew each other. It makes me think, so they hired someone who, out of, you know, thousands of people, they found this girl, you know, LaGuardia, or whatever her name is. LaGuardia. LaGuardia. That they found LaGuardia, and oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, by coincidence, she used to know Paula. Because the thing that was created when they got her was...
Wow, this is really going to upset Paula probably. Is Paula on her way out? Are they getting this fourth judge, and especially that she's a woman, are they getting this fourth judge to sort of weed Paula out? I mean, after all, we know that she's got these issues. We've seen it so many times. I mean, oh, is this the beginning of the end? And then we hear Paula, you know, making comments and da-da-da-da-da. Well, it turns out that, no, they actually knew each other. My theory is she brought her to the show. She introduced her to the producers of the show. Paula did? Yeah. Yeah, that's what I would think, right? Yeah. When you find out that they knew each other and everything, which makes it seem to me like there's... People are smart, man. People are smart. When producers are trying... Look it. This is the same show that had that phony baloney fight in the... First couple of seasons between Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson on TV. They're sitting there. I don't know if people remember this, but I don't remember what it is that Simon says. And Randy Jackson stands up like he's physically going to do something. And Simon goes, it's all right. It's all right, Randy. Sit down. Sit down. Stop it. Calm down. And it was supposed to be a thing like where Randy really got mad. But we watched it and we could all tell it was.
BS. Well, yeah, Randy Jackson has no talent. He couldn't pull it off. But you could tell he was trying to pull off. Like he was really mad at Simon. But you could clearly see it was an invented thing. So these are the same producers, okay, who have invented that. And so I'm like, I just wonder if this whole thing. They have to do something. every year, I think, to keep American Idol relevant and buzzworthy and all that stuff. So maybe there's some truth to that. Oh, go ahead. No, you go ahead. You go. Well, I was just going to say Kara did fire back when she was, you know, asked about Paula's quotes about her. And she said, Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments and hurt that she didn't address them to me in person. I'm proud of my contributions to the show and remain excited about the rest of the season. That's very sensational. It is. It's very sensational. Paula's comments, her responding. What?
morning show in america would not discuss that including us so that to follow that my theory is that the only reason why they added that fourth judge is to stir the pot a little. It's just to get the drama going. I don't think that Paula is faking being loopy. I think that the producers are like, hey, Paula's loopy, Simon's grumpy, let's throw some random judge who's not that good in there and let's let them fight and let's let them start talking crap about each other. Let me be really clear. I add the loopy thing as a side note because it just got me thinking, you know? You know, but yeah. Randy's sneezy, Ryan's fruity. Yeah. Somebody's tootie. And so after Kara's comments, that's when Paula's rep came back to defend Paula's statement saying that her comments were taken out of context. She was referring to previous guest judges from past seasons. Totally. Sure. Totally. I get that. Whatever. I'm telling you, man. Well, I love that extra judge. What? Why? Because of her input. Why are you like this? Why?
Nah, she's wicked hot. That's the only reason I don't listen to her. P1 Adam? She is? Oh, yeah. Adam, what's up? How you doing, Mikey? Good. I was wanting to make a comment that I don't think Paula Abdul is a good enough actress to pull off as crazy as she's pulling. Neither do I. I've seen TV shows that do, like, an American Idol, like, play off as part of their plot. The break-a-brow? An actress to play crazy. And she doesn't pull off as crazy as Paula Abdul on a nightly show. I don't know. See, first of all, let's take them one at a time. Do I think that Paula Abdul is brilliant? No. Do I think that Paula Abdul is smart? I don't know. To be honest with you, I just don't really know. Do I think that pretty much any random schmo may have this talent and ability to be able to pull off pretending to be a little loopy? Yes. She made me believe she was dancing with an animated cat. Thank you. I don't know what you're thinking. Thank you. See, I think it's a mistake to underestimate people. Never think that anybody is quite as dumb as they appear. Never think that anybody is quite as smart as they appear. If you take two steps forward and one step back, you can know that opposites attract. Thank you. Somebody said that. Somebody said that. You know what I mean? Yeah. I think somebody said that.
Okay, question for you, Mike. Yes. Let's go along with this theory and say that we do believe Paula's loopiness is a bit. Okay. Would she then carry that into other aspects of her life, like her QVC line? If you've ever seen her on late night TV, you know, doing the stuff for that, she's the same bat crazy woman. This is a interesting, interesting. I can really sink my teeth into that. That's fantastic. Okay, so if it is an act, she'd have to be acting all the time, which to me would make sense. But man, I'll tell you what, that QVC thing is going to have me thinking all day. Because would she bring it into that QVC thing? And maybe she would, maybe she wouldn't. I don't know. It sure is fun to chew on. Well, there is no QVC thing without American Idol. Yeah. So if you're going to portray something on American Idol, you have to. Betray it on QVC. Yeah. I'm just wondering, why would Paula want to do that? Like, if the producers are telling her to do that, like... If she doesn't, then who's talking about Paula Abdul? Yeah. I mean, if she does, why would she not? Does anybody talk about Randy Jackson? Why? Yeah. And they don't because he's boring. And, by the way, I will throw this out there. No. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next couple of seasons, there's something Randy.
Maybe they just don't have it yet. They have to. They haven't hit on it yet. He's terrible. I hate Randy Jackson. He's so untelented. He does nothing. He says nothing. Why, dog? Maybe they just haven't got to Randy yet, but maybe there will be some sort of a deal that they'll come up with. In a couple of seconds, we're going to be talking about the fact that Kaiser has issued a statement. About Sky? No. Finally. It is not. Yeah, they should apologize for making him do what they did. They pulled a prank on her and they should probably apologize. All right, boy. Ah, sunburn. Exactly. Calm down. They've issued a statement about the Octomom because that's where the babies are. Yeah. Kaiser. I have to say one more thing about American Idol. They messed with the format. What do you mean? Well, we know the format of American Idol, right? Somebody sings. You go to the judges. It's Randy first, then Paula, then Simon. Right. And this new girl. Yeah. Last night they changed the format. What?
They had the person sing. Yeah. And then they rotated who went first. So Simon didn't have the last word every time. Really? It was horrible. I don't like that. Yeah, because, you know, Paula, it truly showed that Paula just piggybacks on whatever Randy says or, you know, the vibe of what people are thinking. Right. Because when she was first, had to go first, she went, well, Simon, what do you think? Shut up. She did. And I was like, holy cow, man. Lady. That's brutal. It is brutal. And having Simon not go last, the worst idea ever. Worst idea ever. Come on. Because he's the best, man. Well, yeah. And people want to hear what he has to say. People don't want to hear what Randy has to say. They don't care. Or Kara or anybody else. Yeah. So it was bad that they switched that format. P1 Scooby's calling in to make a comment about the Ashley after show. Yeah, you know, with all the... Let me explain first, Scoob. The Ashley After Show you can find at MikeyShow.com. After the show, Ashley interviews somebody from the show about that day's show. And you can find it right now at MikeyShow.com. Our own little spunky little blonde, Ashley, can be seen at MikeyShow.com interviewing people on the show each day. What were you going to say, Scoob? Yeah, with all the talking... Oh, no. Oh, my goodness.
Yeah, a lot of talk you guys had yesterday about the greatest sports athlete or, you know, whatever. And you had Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan. I can't believe you guys didn't include El Hombre Gigante. El Hombre Gigante. I have to agree with that, Scooby. I'm shocked that he wasn't in the... El homo picante? I know, he totally should have been on there. El homo picante should definitely have been. This is el hombre picante. It's not picante, Mike. It's el hombre picante. He's a great... What is it, Rob? A fantastic luchador from Mexico. That means milk, Mike. No, no, it doesn't, Ron. That means the tiny milk. I don't know why you guys are acting like you don't know who he is. Eddie, who is he? He's one of the greatest luchadors in the history of Mexico. I went home and, as always, watched the Ashley After Show and was shocked to see that Ashley had an interview with this great luchador. And people can see it right now. Right now on the Ashley After Show. It was incredible, really. And click to share media thing so you can send it to your friends. You can even send it to your friends. Wow, it was pretty awesome. I agree with you, Scooby. I want to see that. I mean, does he give a lot of interviews? I don't think so. He didn't sound like he spoke very good English.
No, he kept saying, como se dice. Okay, okay. Yeah, which means that he doesn't understand. In fact, como se dice means, how do you say this in English? How do you say this in English? I know how to say it in my native tongue, but how do you say this in English? So, that was pretty cool. Awesome. Thank you, Scoop. 570-1053 is our phone number and our text number. is 35253. And I also thought it was very disrespectful that Ashley was not getting his name correct and was calling him for the wrong name. That's just not true. Not fluent in Spanish. Well, you shouldn't have guests on then, Rob. They don't speak English. It was a last minute book and we had a lot of trouble getting him. Well, you're lucky to get him. P1Aaron texted in to text Mikey at gmail.com and said, Mikey, Conspiracy? Maybe. But it worked. You guys are talking about American Idol. Absolutely. Of course. 100% it worked. And yeah, that's kind of what I'm saying. So anyway, text Mikey at gmail.com if you want to text us. And 570-1053 is the number if you want to call us. Yeah, so Kaiser has issued a statement.
And probably because a lot of people want to know, like, what are you guys up to with the Octomombs babies? Right, Sky? Yeah, well, you know, the Octomom and her babies have been getting press from day one, but it kind of, you know, Kaiser was getting bombarded by the media after Dr. Phil called the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday to reveal that he had just got a call from Octomom claiming that Kaiser may not give her the babies when they're ready to go home because she doesn't, her living arrangements are out of whack. Oh, dude, so what'd they say? So Kaiser said, quote, any conversation that the mother may or may not have had on this topic are private and we cannot discuss them. In general, mothers with multiple births who have babies in the neonatal intensive care unit are given advice and counsel about what they need to have in place to care for their children when they're discharged. This is a multidisciplinary team that works with them in advance to offer advice and support.
So what are they saying? If they don't meet that criteria, they don't give them the babies? That's what it sounds like. Wow. Yeah, which makes sense, right? You don't want to give a kid to somebody that's going to... mistreat them or not be able to care for them. Just with like, you know, just having any baby, you know, they come out and check your car and make sure your car seat is strapped in and ready to go or they don't let you take your baby home. And dude, check it out. Like we were talking about this because if you haven't heard, Rebecca, my wife and I are expecting twins. And we were talking about how ultrasound is a relatively new thing. Back in the day when I was born, they didn't have that stuff. And so people didn't even know they were having multiple kids. And so you'd have a car. seat waiting in your car for your kid and then all of a sudden you have a baby and two come out you don't even have a car seat you're not ready you know you got one car seat ready to go and i i was saying like so what do people do and uh we were talking to this guy that knows um somebody that was in that situation back in the day and they said the husband hustled out and like went to the store and bought one
Had to come back and be like, we need another one. In fact, we were talking to these people and this guy was a twin. And he said that they were so unprepared for his brother that they had to go or that they couldn't buy. They had to pull a drawer out and use it as a crib. Wow. They couldn't afford to go get another crib. Right. And so they had to pull a drawer out, empty it out and make it into a makeshift crib. Sounds like some of my memories. Because they just weren't expecting it. You're still sleeping in a drawer, Rob. That's weird. That is odd. That's what I was talking about. Memories from yesterday. Oddly, he fits in there. Well done, Mike. P1 Mike wants to talk about... Oh, no. Here we go. Good morning, Mikey. Good morning, dude. You want to talk a little Lost? Yo, Eddie. What? What do you think about Ben getting pissed that Lost knows a lot that he shouldn't know? Well... Last night's episode was all the story of Locke on present time, going in, trying to convince the Oceanic Six to go back to the island and all that stuff. It was a pretty cool episode. I thought it was good, but I have that frustrated feeling afterwards of really still not getting any answers. I mean, there were a couple of cool reveals, nothing that had anything to do with the island.
Like, anything like that. But, you know, it was good to see that backstory. But I'm, like, still wanting more. Like, I'm frustrated that there's not, you know, just anything going on, you know, as far as, like, you know, the answers to this whole, you know, lost. Oh, did you see it? No, I didn't get a nap in yesterday, so I wasn't able to stay up. But I assumed it was really good because in the middle of it, you know, I was sleeping. But at like whatever, you know, 930 or so, I got a text from P1 Stephanie going, are you watching this? I'm sleeping. So I was assuming I was going to come in and people were going to be like going crazy. Well, in general, Sky is usually more excited about an episode of Lost than Eddie. That is true. You know, it takes a lot. I'm easily excitable. She's easily excitable. She's on board of the whole thing. Like, she doesn't matter. Can we save that clip, by the way, of Skye saying, I'm easily excitable? Oh, please. Whatever. That might prove to be funny in the future. I could. I just expect a lot out of the show. And last year, I mean, it delivered every week. You know, it was giving us stuff every week. And this year, I feel like they're kind of.
You know, it's a very slow pace of what they're giving us. Mike. Yeah. What do you think? I liked it, actually. What did you really dig? Saw a wall of Mr. Abaddon and Mr. Abaddon get killed by Ben. The two boats in the beginning of the episode when, or it was yesterday's episode. Eddie, did you see the boats, right? Yeah. See, I thought it was cool that, you know, they showed, you know, the other people that were on the plane that, you know, where they crashed, they showed them on the island. So we know that they survived and they're on the island now. And, you know, that that guy, Caesar, who, you know, was the Mexican looking dude or Middle Eastern, whatever salad. Exactly. He I mean, he lock is alive on the island like he was reincarnated on the island. You know, which was really cool. And there was a lot of really cool stuff that happened. Wow. But, you know. You know the guy Caesar? What's that? You know the guy Caesar, right? Do I know him? No, you know about his character. And then remember the two episodes ago where Foyer and Juliet were on the boat? That was the boat that they were fixing up. That's why the water bottle was there. And then they took the boat. I'm thinking Caesar's the one shooting at them.
I don't watch Lost, so if there's those of you that also don't watch Lost and you're really lost, you know what I mean? I'm really lost. See, that is part of my problem with this season, or, yeah, these episodes, is that it's getting more convoluted. And instead of it getting more convoluted, I want it to get less. Like, I want every week, give me answers, give me answers, give me answers, and then it ends next year. Like, I don't know. I mean, that's just how I feel. We still have a year and a half to go. I guess. I just feel like there's more questions every week. Thank you, Mike Kix. I appreciate it, brother. But, you know, don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed the episode last night. It was cool. But it was kind of like a standalone episode rather than part of the series. You know what I mean? Sky, how were the ratings on Obama speaking? Well, really good. Nice. I mean, it was... It was the only thing on TV. Yeah, it was the only thing on TV. It was covered on, you know, all the networks and, you know, the cable news channels and stuff. Yeah. 52 million people tuned in to watch that. I like to give the drumroll after the reveal because then you're like, oh, I just heard it.
No, that's not how it works. 52 million people watched it. Draw a diagram. Our phone number, 570-1053. Our text number, textmikey at gmail.com. I can tell you right now one of them is this woman that was infected with herpes and had a lawsuit about it. Sky, what's the deal? Okay, what I want to know from you guys is do you think that this amount of money she got was too much, not enough, or right on? I like it. Okay, so 56-year-old woman having a relationship with a 77-year-old man. The guy... I'm already weirded out, by the way. Strange enough. The guy knew that he had had genital herpes for the past 25 years. Okay. But did not tell the woman this and did not use a condom when they had sex. Okay. And they were in a relationship for how long? I did not read how long they were in a relationship. Because that's kind of interesting, too, because wouldn't it make a big difference to us in terms of how we thought about it if they had been in a relationship?
The entire 25 years. Would it change anything for us if we found out that they'd been in a relationship for four months? Yeah. It would change the way we think about it, right? Yeah. But either way, no matter what, they were in a relationship. Sexually. Yeah, so they were in a sexual relationship. He knew he had herpes for 25 years, but they did not use a condom when having sex, and she contracted herpes. She also claims that because of the herpes, she had been denied health insurance coverage because of getting herpes, which is interesting. But whatever. So the jury awarded her just under. $7 million. $7 million. $7 million. I heard that. Herpes, if you don't know, cannot be cured. It's something that you just have to live with. Obviously, from now on, in the rest of her sexual encounters, she will have to disclose to her partners that she has herpes and suffer the effects of it. Here is my...
Question about that. Pain, suffering, and inconvenience. We got it. What exactly is she getting the seven mil to comfort with her? Is it loss of this? Is it pain and suffering? Is it da-da-da-da? Here it says four million in... Punitive. Compensatory. Compensatory. Compensatory. I knew I was going to say that right. That tickled Rob. Rob loved that. Rob was just the highlight. I left it alone, though. Yeah. Well, you didn't really leave it alone when you threw your hand over your mouth, hiding a giggle, and your whole body shaking from the giggle. I don't know if that was necessarily hiding it. No, Michael. You know what I mean? Yeah. So $4 million compensatory. 2.75 million in punitive damages. And then she was also awarded a BMW that he had originally given to her as a gift, but then taken back. What the heck? So, yeah, just about $7 million.
See, and I don't really know what punitive means. It's tiny. Okay, and I don't know what compensatory means. I don't know what these things mean. But $7 million, I mean, can you really put a price tag on not having herpes? Right. Can you? I mean, how much does not having herpes mean to you? $7 million. How much would it cost you? $7 million. Yeah, I mean, how much would it cost you, personally, if I said, I'm going to give you herpes, what's your price? Right. Because that's the amount. That's the amount. About $7 million. About $7 million. And a BMW. And a BMW. Apparently, that's what a jury felt. I mean, the jury probably had to ask themselves, how much would it cost for me to have it? Now, we used to have a clip, Sky, of you saying, you can give me herpes for blah, blah, blah. Do you remember that? Yeah. And I don't remember how much it was. $10. It was like $3. Well, you know, because I compare it to people who, you know, I've been, you know, injured by, you know, whatever, drunk drivers. And now they have chronic back pain for the rest of their life. They're not getting seven million. To me, this seems like way too much money. Yeah, I definitely think it's too much, especially when, you know, I don't know what, you know, the standard case would be for something where you're rewarding someone.
There are so many cases out there, like you're right, you know, that someone gets hurt. I almost, you know, have a hard time rewarding any money for contracting herpes because I think if you have unprotected sex with somebody, you're kind of rolling the dice. Like if you don't, you know, if you don't know enough or, you know, if you don't, like you should trust that person. And if that person. is untrustworthy, then you shouldn't have had sex with him. Consequence, right? It is consequent because isn't it just as much her fault as it is his fault that they didn't wear a condom? It's the consequence of her not telling him to wear a condom. And if they didn't discuss beforehand the sexual history, which there probably was a long one if he's 77, if they didn't talk about it. Then, you know, that's kind of what they did. Well, if they did and he lied to her. Yeah, I might have an issue with that. I mean, that's that's blatantly, you know, giving somebody a disease. Sure. And that's that's like bizarre and weird. Text us at text Mikey at Gmail dot com. That's our text number. And our phone number is five seven. Oh, one oh five three. This text says using protection.
is the responsibility of both the partners, not just the guy. Absolutely. That ruling is a bunch of bleep. P1 ham fan. Hogwash. Hogwash. Sky, when do you have time to text that in? Sky, that was really fast work. Just stop it. All over it. You can just talk. Grow up, all of you. P1 Devil Dog commented on it via text by saying, I think I just threw up gross. 570-1053 and text us at textmikey at gmail.com. P1 Stephanie, what do you think? I think it's probably a little high, but definitely she deserved a lot of monetary damage. And the punitive damage is malicious and willful act. And if he knew he had herpes and had sex with her and didn't disclose that to her, and now she is living with a lifelong disease, she can't get medical coverage, so she has to pay that out of her pocket. And, you know, I would see there's definitely some pain and suffering in there. Seven million, a little high, but she definitely deserved to have been paid for that. Sure. So does this open the door for everybody that's contracted herpes? That's what I'm saying. Well, if you get medical records and things like that, which you usually do during discovery, then if it's disclosed that somebody was diagnosed with herpes and knew that they had something like that and that they have to protect their partner,
because they have those kind of outbreaks, and you don't tell them, and you continue to have sex with them, and it's unprotected sex, and you are exposing them to an incurable disease. I think that is definitely willful and malicious. I mean, what was he thinking? Yeah, yeah. So, you know, like 7 million, like I said, I think that's a little high, but I think what they factor in is that she's 56. She has probably a lifespan. And then she has to have coverage during that lifespan. I can't see that she'll be denied by Medicare when she hits 65, but, you know, you never know. But I think that, I think it was fair that she was awarded something. Gotcha. Thanks a lot, Stephanie. If you want to OB, what do you think? I don't see how she would get $7 million. I mean, is it determined because this guy has a bunch of money? What if just a regular Joe Schmoe, who has a regular income, get sued in court for it, do they base it upon his income? I mean, where did they come up with the $7 million? That's what I was kind of wondering, too. Well, I don't think that damages are awarded based on what somebody's salary is. Yeah. Damages are just awarded. The jury shouldn't take that into consideration. Well, right. Of course. I mean, it's like when somebody gets three consecutive life terms. You're not going to live to be 300 years old. That's just what the jury determined you deserve.
But that guy is paying her now. He has to pay her now $7 million, right? Okay, well, if he has a normal job, he's not going to be able to give her $7 million. You know what I mean? They'd have to figure out what they can take from it. Say again? I wonder if this sets the standards. If I can go out there and find somebody with herpes, maybe I could cash in on $7 million. Do it. No, do not do it. I wouldn't recommend that. Jackpot. No, Eddie, I don't think that's a good recommendation. Quit playing the lottery. You know, that's the new stimulus plan. There you go. It could be. Thank you, Obama. Yes. That's weird. Let's see. Mikey, you had me when you said unprotected sex. That's P1 herpes. What? Let's see. You had me. It's like you had me at hello. Yeah. It's really weird. What about the people? This text message says, what about people that have unprotected sex with HIV? You know that? I mean, it could be considered the same thing, right? Well, it's worse. It's worse. P1 Delhi has the meaning of punitive. What is it? Well, punitive and compensatory is relative, meaning if I made millions of dollars a year.
they're not going to set a price as compared to somebody who makes you like $35,000, $50,000 a year. So if you're looking at what's going to hurt you, what do you have to pay according to what you do? Okay, but you have to explain what, that doesn't explain to me what the word punitive means. Well, punitive means it's punishment. Okay, the punitive, okay, got it. Punitive means punishment. What does compensatory mean? Compensatory is you have other issues like what was referred to as far as you got medical. bills you've got pain and suffering those are compensatory okay i understand now what the meaning of the two words is now what was it is just like uh disciplinary got it okay what was the mean what were you talking about when you were talking about the very beginning of the call you were talking about the money and how much people make and all that stuff explain that well let's say if we're looking at something that's punitive what well let's say they came up with a fine that was let me say you got to pay five thousand dollars well if i make
several million dollars a year, that's not punitive. That's compared to somebody that's only, you know, that makes, you know, $35,000 a year. Okay, so then what you're suggesting is the fact that the punitive amount was so high suggests that this man was worth a lot of money. Yes. Right. Okay, okay, and that is also to say that if this person, say, worked a... All he did for a living was he had a regular job at Best Buy. You're saying that the punitive amount would have been much smaller. He can't squeeze blood from a turnip and lawyers, they want money. That's awesome. That's fascinating to know. I did not know that. So the punitive was just under $3 million. So that means he can afford it. That's right. She couldn't afford it. They wouldn't have went after him in the first place. Well, considering he gave the gift back, which was the BMW to her also. Yeah, that also indicates that there was some money involved in it. P1 Brad? Yeah. What did you want to say? I just, I wanted to say that the 7 mil was a little much because, I mean, she could have used a female condom and...
But at the same token, if she's denied medical health coverage, she's got to use that money to take care of herself until she's at least 65. But it's kind of hard for me to believe. Like, I can understand maybe one company denying her medical coverage, but every company to deny somebody with herpes medical coverage, you know how many people have herpes out there? Yeah. It's hard to believe that she couldn't find medical coverage anywhere. Did anybody kind of catch the thing where he's saying, well, it's her fault she didn't wear a female condom? Anybody catch that? Well, he said partially, didn't he? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I mean, it also looked at where she's living. She could be living in a park. The San Diego area where there's only one doctor's office and they only take certain insurance companies. Well, just to be clear, this case took place in Palm Springs. Right, Sky? Yeah, Riverside County, Palm Springs. Riverside County, Palm Springs. And I don't know that there is a female condom that protects from STDs. I believe that's... So, in other words, what you're saying, Ashley, is you believe that the female condom only protects from pregnancy, but not from...
I'm trying to think what female condom protects. I don't even know what that is. You guys have never heard of the female condom? I've heard of it, but I don't know how it actually works. Oh, there actually is something called a female condom? Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, I had no idea. You guys didn't know that? No. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's something called a female condom. Is that like a reverse regular condom? Pretty much. Okay. Pretty much. Weird. Yeah. I don't know, to say that the, you know, it's her response. She should have been, she should have had, I mean, you ladies didn't even know what it was. This lady's supposed to. Yeah, but she could have said to the guy, wear a condom. Yeah, for sure, for sure. Pain, suffering, and inconvenience. That's punitive. That is. Yeah, we learned that. Do you guys know Jerry Seinfeld's producing a new reality show? Really? Oh, no. Yeah, I got the details on that. It is. Then you got days. Yeah, it's not like two and a half weeks. Two and a half weeks is like 20 days. It's exactly right. It's 20 days. Great job, Rob. You get it. It's actually not even 20 days. You're unfair. Yes. February, February, February, February, February, you're unfair. Is that right? Your holidays suck. Too bad you didn't put that in the song, you know. Don't worry about putting that in the song, you know. No, I can't sing and play piano now. I can't do it all, Mike. I can do one or the other. And I decided to sing. Except for a few. He's a human being. Mardi Gras, okay. But it made me blue. February, February, February, February, February, you're unfair. Yeah. February, February, February, February, February, you're unfair. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, the ride is getting a little bit tougher as we move along here. South 15 gets pretty jammed up now out of Escondido off to 78 down to Via Rancho Parkway. Starting to see some reduced speeds and a few brake lights down the coastline now on Southbound 5 out of Lucadia in the Solana Beach. As the East County commutes, not too bad. A little slow here on the westbound 8th of La Mesa from Spring Street out towards Lake Murray. And traveling out of the South Bay, the 805 northbound is picking up more brake lights in through National City and then again through North Park. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Shut up. San Diego's Rock. It continues. Featuring Mikey. I love documentaries. Eddie. I like to do what I like to do. I don't care really how I look anymore. Yeah. I'm just like, whatever. Sky. I love award shows. I love the OC. I love 90210. You know, so when it comes to pop culture, it's my like one bit of youth. Boston Rob. I'm the ultimate recycling machine. It's pretty garbage disposal. It's true. Actually. I support Twilight everywhere I go. Oh, wow. The Mikey.
We're going to make a copy of this CD for first. No, it's so good. No, it is not. This is Matish Yahoo. Matish Yahoo. Matish Yahoo. I was working out at Frogs with my trainer, Wendy, and they play music in there. It's like cool, piped-in music. And this came on. And I go, oh, this is a cool song. She goes, that is good. Who is that? And I go, Matis Yahoo. And she goes, who is it? And bless you. Seriously? It was one of those moments where I said it like four times. I go, it's Matis Yahoo. And she goes, say that slow. And I go, Matis Yahoo. And she goes...
Like in The Wrestler when he's talking to the kid and they're playing video games and the kid goes, he goes, hey, what is this? He goes, Call of Duty 4. Call of what? Call of Duty 4. Call of Duty what? No, Call of Duty 4. Call it Duty what? I'm an old broken down piece of meat. You are. You know what I thought about that movie? What? I thought there was some... I thought there was one bad casting call. Who is it? There was one bad casting call. For me, it was the Ayatollah. He was some black dude and he wasn't Middle Eastern and he didn't even put on the act that he was Middle Eastern. I have a theory on that, by the way. My theory is that the director was trying to show that they will use whatever to do
Yeah, and I understand that, but, like, in wrestling, they at least try to portray that character. Yeah. Like, that dude was talking like a brother. He's like, hey, what's up, everybody? I'm from Iran. No, you're not, dude. You're from Watts. Yeah. Can you think of who I think it is? Who else? I actually disagreed with Eddie on that one. I thought she was good. Really? I really liked her. Awesome. I saw one clip. She's great naked. Where she had that hoodie on. Oh, yes. It's an awesome little hood rat. Oh. Did you not like the daughter? I did not like the daughter. Really? I'll tell you why. Why? I thought she was way too pretty. It was distracting how pretty she was. And Rebecca said, yeah. Who is it? I don't know who the actress is. Evan Rachel Wood. Oh. But I thought she was too pretty and too, you know, I thought that his daughter would be a little bit more normal and kind of plain. Yeah, I can see that. You know? And she was very... Hollywood pretty. It looked like they took a gorgeous Hollywood actor and tried to make her plain. Which is kind of hard to do sometimes. You wanted more Lely Selyewski. Yes, yes. Yes, I did. That's right. We're going to try to work her in. We'll get it done. Okay, so very controversial. Octomom went on Dr. Phil.
And the reason that I think it's controversial is not necessarily her, what she's saying or whatever. I think the controversy is, is Dr. Phil just exploit everybody? Absolutely. Is he like Jerry Springer now? Yeah. That's basically where we're at. I mean, at one time, Dr. Phil was thought of to be a very influential, credible. Yeah, Oprah used to bring him on her show as like a real legit guy. Like a doctor. Yeah, like a doctor. He's like a caricature of himself. I wonder, is he really a doctor? Is that real? I don't know. He just calls himself because I'm Dr. Mike. There you go. I like that. Can you just call yourself Dr. something? Absolutely. Dr. Dre. Are you allowed? Yeah. See? There it is. Does he really have a PhD? Yeah. What about Dr. Pepper? What's up with you? Dr. Hook. Does he have a PhD? Dr. Demento. That's right. Well, he actually, he does have a PhD. Weird. Well, there was a rumor out there that Dr. Phil bought the Octomom a million dollar house. No. What?
the where they conducted the interview. And so here he is addressing it. Now, as you listen, ask yourself, does he answer the following question? Okay, if you didn't supply the house, where did it come from? Now, we did the interview at a house in Whittier, California, so Nadia could be close to the hospital where her octuplets are still being cared for. And let me clear one thing up. I did not buy that house for her. I didn't even rent it, even for the day. Within minutes of arriving to do the interview, the media was reporting all kinds of rumors like Dr. Phil buys Octomom Million Dollar Home. Even reputable news outlets were reporting these rumors, so it just goes to show you you can't believe everything you hear. Okay, you didn't rent it, you didn't buy it. Where'd it come from? Yeah. You didn't have anything to do with it, Dr. Phil? Did you guys just go into a foreclosed house and just squat? Yeah. Were you squatting? They were squatting. By the way, there's nothing wrong with that. Wait a second. Eddie, I like to think of myself as... Dr. Phil's here. Exclusive. What I do is I like to think of myself more as an entrepreneur reporter. I don't know what that means, Dr. Phil. Explain. Well...
When Mel Gibson went on that drunken tirade and he got arrested and everything, he used his one phone call, Eddie, to call me from jail. He did? Yes, he did. That seems a little weird. It's odd. It's absolutely true. Wow. And like any good physician slash doctor slash therapist. Slash good person. Slash angel. Slash awesome. I took that phone call and in turn I called my best broseph, Billy Bush. Oh, wait. Seems like a weird. And I said something deeply caring about Mel at the time to Billy. I said, hey, Billy boy. Guess who was hammered drunk and going off about Jews starting wars? Wait, that's not a good thing to say. And then I said, that's right, Billy. Braveheart was. That's right. That's not cool. Let's see. I don't know about that. Dr. Phil asking Nadia about why she thinks people are mad at her.
Why do you think people are so incensed about this? Why do you think they're so mad? I think one of the primary reasons, one of them, and there's multiple, is the economy right now. Hang on a second. You don't, you can't start making comments about the economy before you sort of like, what? That is genius. I don't know what you're all fussing about. I am fussing about, that was awesome that she said that. The only reason that any of you driving right now are upset about these kids is because we're going through hard times in the economy. That's it.
And if any of you try to tell yourselves that it's about something different, go ahead. You can try it. If you think it's about caring about children, please. Live in your denial shadow. You know what it's about? It's about the S&P 500 and you know it as well as I know it. Thank you. Next time you want to look at me with those judgmental eyes and say, why do you have 14 kids? Why don't you then tell everybody how you were just checking the NASDAQ? Okay? and try to talk me into that one. Oh, my. Nuts. And so then they're under the impression that they hear the situation and without even taking who I am as a person into consideration, which is human nature, we're going to label that person. That person is going to be a burden on society, a burden on us taxpayers, you know, the people who are enraged at this point. Y'all, can I break this down for a second? Please, Dr. Paul. I'm going to tell it like it is, okay? Yes. The Octomom, Britney Spears, OJ, they are all coming.
to Dr. Phil. Well, I don't know about OJ, but I believe... Yeah, that's weird. It's true, Eddie. Is that really? OJ actually did call me from his... He used his one phone call. Oh, okay. Really? That's weird. You want to know why? Why? Because they know I can help. That's why. You can't? You seem like you did very good with Brittany. Eddie, I told Octomom that she should open her own clothing line for other Octomoms. There's not very many Octomoms. Yes, there is. There's a ton of them. I mean, there are two in the history of our country. There's a business plan. There's a business plan to be had here. I can't tell you how many times other Octomoms have come to me and said, I wish there was clothes that fit me. That's so stupid. That's the worst idea ever. And she has a built-in factory line with all those darn kids that she's got. Well, no, Dr. Phil, that's not real. She could. You hire them out. Jackets and shoes. Like a Taiwanese sweatshop in no time. I'm telling you that this would work. It's a terrible thing to say. It's the economy. Okay, fine. And whether or not that's true or not, it just looks as though that would be the case. Okay. And that's understandable. I want to tell you right now that I spoke with the babies, y'all. You actually spoke with the babies. And they are furious that you people in the media are harassing their mom. Wait a minute.
First of all, these are premature babies. I spoke to them, Eddie. Dr. Phil. Who do you think you are? Are you a doctor? Thank you. And they're mad at the media? Yes, Eddie. I talked to baby number four, and baby number four said their mom is as stable as that straw house in the three little pigs story. Well, that's not stable at all. That's pretty good. Does the baby know how that story ends? Apparently not. Here she's asked. Oh, man. If she really wanted eight more kids. Did you want to have eight children in this pregnancy? I wanted one. Okay, that's fine. One. You wanted one. You did not anticipate eight. You did not want eight. Because you said something in an interview with Ann Curry that I thought was interesting. You said, I did this and it went perfectly. Oh, no, no, no. I meant every single time I went through the IVF cycle. It was perfect. I had one single 10. Fiverr transferred another singleton. Perfect for the baby. It was an idealistic pregnancy. On the due date had them. Zero complications. That is what I probably was trying to portray. And the twins, full term. Full term on the due date. No complications. Nothing. My uncle Kate Winslet once gave me some... Go on. That's weird. Which I then passed on to Hugh Grant. I said...
I said, Hugh, you must always give a hitchhiking transvestite a ride home no matter what. Wait, that's bad advice. Well, that's the advice I got from Uncle Kate Winslet. I know, but, I mean, he got it a lot. I trusted her. She was my uncle. You're probably not. Now, it turns out that he took that advice, and I just happened to be trailing his car that night and alerted the cops. At the moment, he was picking up a shim. A shim is a she and a he. And it's very unfortunate that I gave that. It turns out it was bad advice. I'm mad enough to say it. I'm mad enough to say it. Dr. Phil, sue me. Shitten of done it. Bad advice. I'm owning up. You gave him the advice and then called the cops on him. Accountability. Bad advice. Dr. Phil. He's owning up to it. He's owning up. How would anybody talk to you?
Nadia Solman has asked if she wants more children. Are you through having children? A bazillion percent, and that's not a number. Trillion percent. Because you've said that before. Oh. Actually, I told my mom so she wouldn't be always so stressed out and worried. But I always knew I had the frozen embryos there. So absolutely, 100%. Can I ask you all a question? Yes. Do you all think it was wrong that I called the L.A. Times? Yes. What did I do wrong? Well, there's a doctor-patient confidentiality thing that I think you kind of blurred. Okay, fine. I'll take accountability on this one. I threw the doctor-patient... thing out the window. Well, that's a big thing, Dr. Phil. And you know what? Just like the Uncle Kate Winslet thing, I shouldn't have done it. But under this circumstance, I did. And I'm sorry it won't happen again. But let me tell you something. Everybody's freaking out saying that this was unprofessional to me to call the LA Times. But I am involved in this too, Eddie, and you must realize this.
In exchange for a pair of Jonas Brothers tickets, I had Octomom put my name on the birth certificates as the father. Wait a second. Wait a second. So now technically I am their dad. You're the daddy. I am their dad. For Jonas Brothers tickets. It was Jonas Brothers tickets. There. Are you happy? Exactly. Well, you know what? Face. No, no face. Face. Exactly. Face. And you know what? Boom, you're fired. No, wait. Hey, what happened? For what? You know what, Eddie? Yes, Dr. Phil? Oh, my gosh. A whole situation reminds me of something my sister, Captain Jack Sparrow, said to me one time. Wait, you have a sister named Captain Jack Sparrow? Yes, I do. Okay. My sister. Yes. And my sister used to say to me when we were growing up, she would say, fool me once, shame on you. Right. Fool me twice. And you'll end up with 14 babies. I don't think that's a thing. First of all, I sincerely doubt that you have a sister named Captain Jack Sparrow. Second of all, that she ever said that. Thirdly, you're ridiculous. And that certainly wouldn't benefit the kids. Because you know that they went, they say at least, that they went to the doctor.
And begged and pleaded with him not to do this again. I know what happened. No, he accidentally called my mom's number rather than mine. And then my mom had asked him, please, you know, don't do that again. Maybe that's true. They didn't go anywhere. That was just a, that was a rumor. Can I be frank with you? Please. Yeah, I'd love that. I think y'all are being a bunch of uptight hoity-toities, if you ask me. How dare you? I don't appreciate that. I personally don't see anything wrong. with having collagen in your lips or a litter of children. Really? You don't see nothing wrong with that? Really? Yes, really. These things are perfectly normal. They are not. They're not normal. Not even close. You guys, I had collagen put in my lips right below my mustache just the other day. I still can't tell. It's because it isn't visible. It's under my mustache. It doesn't matter if y'all can't see it. I feel sexier. And really, that is all it's about for me. I just try to lead a normal life as a real housewife of Orange County. That's all I'm trying to do. Can you give me a break? This is the Mikey Show. So you're the guy who pooped in my tuba.

South 5 is a struggle from Poinsettia Lane in Carlsbad all the way down at Salada Beach before it lets you loose there. South 15 jams up out of Escondido off to 78th of your Rancho Parkway, and now you've got reduced speeds again in Carmel Mountain Ranch and the Poway. East County can be westbound 8, pretty slow in Cajon Valley, of course, approaching East Main Street.
A little tight again from Spring Street, down toward Lake Murray and La Mesa. And the 805 North Pounds got the off-and-on sewing out of Chula Vista into North Park. Then again out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over that 52. Down with Clarence on Rock 105 for 8. What's up, Johnny? Two quick things, man. One, thanks for all the info about Sleep Train, man. I just bought mine yesterday. You got a Sleep Train mattress? Dude, just yesterday. Sleep Comfort, man. Oh, you got the Select Comfort. Yeah, the Select Comfort, man. I slept for 13 hours. I've never done that before. Oh, my God. Dude, and I'm telling you, like, I wake up to, listen, it's a good thing, but it's also a bad thing because you're not going to want to get out of bed. You get on one of those mattresses, you don't want to get out of bed. That's true. They are so damn comfortable. That's great, dude. And they take your old set out and all that? Yep. Yep. That's what they do. That's awesome. Thank you very much, man. No supervision.
I just, I wasn't supervised and I was free to watch whatever I wanted. Eddie. Yes, Mike, I have a gambling problem. No. Sky. We all know. Boston Rob. And Ash. Five three. Now, with what's up in your world, this is the Mikey Show 360. Yeah, 360 is everything that people are talking about right now. And one of the things people are talking about is this bikini chick on the side of a new Southwest plane. This is weird. Okay. This is very, very odd. Oh, relax. What is it? Let's talk about it. Everybody calm down. Is it the bikini girl from American Idol? Yes. Let's just take a step back. It's the mama girl. Take a step forward. The burritos chick. Let's all remember.
Kyla Ebert, who was asked to be removed and then finally was made to cover up with a blanket because she was dressed too scandalously on the flight in her little mini skirt and tank top. It's the same company that did that. So we remember that. That's a huge story. Well, now Southwest has teamed with Sports Illustrated to help them promote their swimsuit issue and have their cover girl... stretched out on the side of a plane in a bikini. And they're calling it the SI-1. That's the name of the plane, the SI-1. What does that mean, SI-1? Sports Illustrated 1, I guess. And it has this bikini chick, like, you know, big as a... What is it? Is it Marissa Miller? No, it's DiCaprio's gal, bar... Tatiana Uscancho? Yeah, Tatiana Uscancho. Have you guys ever met her? Yeah, isn't it Tatiana Uscancho? Yes. I believe it is. It's weird. So the people from Southwest say that they were looking for a fresh marketing approach and thought this was a good idea to team with Sports Illustrated as a win-win. They claim that so far the reaction from the passengers have been mostly positive. Do you have a picture of it? Yeah. Send me the link. Send me the link. I have it printed right here.
If you go on the Union Tribune's website, which is signonsandiego.com, on the right-hand side, the story's over there. At least it was earlier this morning. Wow. So, yeah. Is it really scandalous, Eddie? I mean, it's just a hot chick in a bikini. I mean, I wouldn't expect to see that on an airplane. You know, it's huge. It's cool, I guess. And so when they were asked about, you know, the, what's her name, the Kyla Eber thing. and how they can justify this bikini chick in relation to that. They say that they believe the two issues are completely unrelated and have nothing to do with one another. How did you say that? It's a freaking dress and leggings. It is. It's more than that. It's more than that. It's more than that. I would think. It's huge. Very, very interesting. That seems pretty hypocritical. I want to wrestle you so freaking bad. That is true. It really does. So, whatever. Our phone number, 570-1053. And you can text us at textmikey at gmail.com if you would like to get in on that. Let's see. Oh, you know what we can do?
Why don't we do a little sports dirt? What do you think about that? Oh, we can talk a little something. Let's do a little sports dirt. Now, with the top sports stories of the day, it's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. I know you guys are freaking out, wondering how Tiger Woods did in his return. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How do you do? I couldn't even sleep last night. I know you couldn't. Yeah, it was crazy. What happened? Well, Tiger is Tiger. He won. Yeah, he did. He beat Brendan Jones in his first round match in the match play, and you look great. You look like Tiger Woods. Here's him talking about that first hole jitters. Yeah, well, walking on the tee was just, I was just in my own little world, you know, just trying to make sure that I knew what the number was to the bunker. Who am I kidding? I knew I was going to win. I'm slightly off the left. Am I going to hit a flat three? Am I going to draw the ball, try to decide which shot I'm going to hit? That's what I always think at that point, too. Like, do I want a flat three? Am I going to draw on the ball? I like a curvy two. Yeah, that's basically how I am with every round going to the first tee. So that didn't change. And when I got over the tee shot, it was just hit a little holder draw up there.
Try and put it down the right side, give myself an angle at that flag, and I was able to do that. You're sick, Tiger. I was just able to do that. It's crazy. Voodoo. He is. So he's going to be taking on Tim Clark today in the second round. Bill Mickelson won his match beating Angel Cabrera, but there were two big upsets. Sergio Garcia lost to some guy named Charles Schwartzel. Charles? Oh, yeah, Charles. I know Charles. I'm not sure. She's great. And San Diego's own Pat Perez upset Patrick Harrington, which was a huge upset. So congratulations, Pat Perez. The Dodgers have upped their offer for Manny Ramirez. They have now offered him a two-year deal worth $45,000. $45,000. Wow, he should take that. $45 million for two years for Manny Ramirez. Oh, my gosh. Dude. I don't know how he doesn't think that. I mean, he really, I mean, listen, this guy must bring so much to a team. Right? To give him $45 million over two years. He was great last year, you know? We'll see. My goodness. Here's Kevin Kuzman off homeward in the Padres. 4-3 win over Seattle. Yeah. And his first spring training game. Yes. Oh, you're yelling. I'm alive.
You can feel it going to the World Series, right? Eddie, wait. That's a little premature. Wait, yeah. Let's see. Let's get this thing rolling. Are we excited? Let's go, Padres. Eddie, no. What do you think? No. What do you mean no? No. This is going to be the worst season. In Padres history. No, no, no. In the history of the Padres organization. That is heartbreaking. They may lose 110 games this year. They may lose 110. Mark my words. Mark them. Mark them down. Come on. 110 games they may lose this year. Why? Mike, Scott Harrison, Jody Garrett. Who's that?
These are the players on the Padres. I thought you were naming off our sales department or something. I didn't know who that was. Might as well, dude. Dude, it is the worst team ever. That sounds like fun. Maybe three players on this team that would be good on other baseball teams. JPV, Chris Young, Adrian Gonzalez. Those guys are great. They're great. Nobody else. Brian Giles, get out of here. Why are you still on this team? But this new ownership... Stop, Rob. Don't jump on us. Maybe the new ownership will do something. Hold on one second. Let me defend myself here. But we're talking about this team. They're not going to do anything with this team. How do we know they don't sign some people? They're not going to. Everybody's signed. They're not going to go out and sign Manny Ramirez. Who knows if baseball doesn't, you know, shave teams down to three people apiece. If that happens, this will be one of the best teams in the league. But they won't. Nick Hundley. Who's that? He's our starting catcher. Never heard of him. He's our starting catcher. I don't know that name. Are they all rookies or what's that? Luis Rodriguez. Who's that?
He's our starting shortstop. He's good, dude. No, he isn't. No, he isn't. Jody Garrett, starting center fielder. Oh, a girl? Starting center fielder. A girl, wow. She's not my favorite. Worst Padre team ever. No, dude, don't say it. It is. Dude, it seriously affects me. I love, dude, Pecco is a... cool place to go. You should still go. You should still go. Yeah, and I love going to games. You're not going to see a winning team. I want winners. Go watch a fun baseball atmosphere. Yeah, now I'm going for the visiting team. You are. I want people that want to win. It's not this team. Cannot play with them. Cannot win with them. Cannot coach with them. Well, give up then. 110 games we may lose. No! Am I wrong? Oh, no. Do people think I'm wrong? I can't disagree with you. I don't know who those people are you named. They're horrible. This is horrible. So what's going to have to happen? Will we get through this season and then maybe the new ownership starts buying good players? I hope so. I don't think our young talent is good enough to say, oh, well, we're rebuilding and we'll be like the Devil Rays. The Red Sox.
Dude, we have one of the best farm systems in the entire league. Eddie, can you ask him to stop talking about the Red Sox every two seconds? We're talking about the Padres. Eddie, give me an actual percentage. What is an actual percentage that the Padres make the playoffs? Zero. Zero. Playoffs? Zero percent. Not even like a two percentage. No. 1%. I think there is a 1% chance that they have a winning record. That is bad. That would be the miracle team. It would be a miracle if they have a winning record. Playoffs, get out of here. This team is garbage. And I'm embarrassed. I'm embarrassed as a Padre fan and a fan of San Diego sports that this is the team that we're putting out on the field. Bring better players. Please. We need some better plans. Where's Tony Gwynn? Yeah, let's get him. Nobody beats Uncle Ford. You would be great. I would take it. I would take him. Okay. All right, we're getting some phone calls now, as you can imagine. Oh, no. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can text us. Text Mikey at gmail.com. P1 Downtown Johnny Brown is on the line. What's up? Hey, Mikey.
I want to ask, Katie, what did you think about the addition of Cliff Floyd and David Eckstein to the Padres? Oh, no. World championship. Are you kidding me? I mean, these are cast-offs from bad teams. Like, they didn't even make their team. Nobody wants Cliff Floyd. Nobody wants David Eckstein. And so the Padres signed him as, you know, because nobody wants him. Why do we want them? Why do we want them? We don't have anybody. We have to fill out the roster. I don't understand. I think Cliff Floyd's a better choice than Chase Anthony. Cliff Floyd, hold on a minute. First of all, that's incorrect. Chase Hamley is a good up-and-coming young player, probably the best up-and-coming young player on the Padres. Second of all, Cliff Floyd's not even an everyday baseball player. He comes off the bench, and he's more of a designated hitter than he is an outfielder. And guess what? The designated hitter's not in the National League. I want winners. Thank you.
I think he agrees. Let's see. P1 Donuts texted us at textmikey at gmail.com. He says, come on, Eddie, worst team ever. Save that clip and play it in October. And remember that I, P1 Donuts, predicted a wild card spot. Let's put a bet on it. I have a question for Eddie, which I just thought of this. You said you were done with fantasy baseball. Are you going to play this year? No, I'm done. But let's think about it. Why would I play if I said I was done? The same way you're done with American Idol. I hate fantasy football. I didn't say I'm done with it. I hate it. I'm not going to play fantasy baseball, though. It was stupid. It was stupid. I don't even get it. Well, that is true. P1 Pods fan texted in and said, come on, Eddie, Eckstein's not that bad.
What? Yeah, 15 years ago. Hold on. Oh, no. Eddie's going to get some stats. Eddie's going to get stats, and that's not going to be good. That's not going to be good when he gets the stats. David Eckstein, two home runs last year, 27 RBIs, hitting 265. Well, that's two more than you, pal. I'm not saying I'm a major league player. That is a fact. That's crazy. That is not good. Applesauce. That is not good. Those numbers don't get you excited? That's weird. Oh. And that was him playing shortstop, which he's not going to play for the Padres. He's going to move over to second base. That's not good. Come on. That's not good. That's terrible. Let's see. Hey, you know that No Doubt announced the summer tour. Can you believe that? Wow. Gwen Stefani No Doubt? Yes. Gwen Stefani No Doubt. I thought the same thing. It's No Doubt you know.

You lie in bed awake, your mind racing over the return of grilled salmon tacos and burritos at Rubio's. Chili lime salmon to be exact. You are euphoric over this fish that so perfectly represents the bold, fresh flavors of Rubio's Beach Max. The mighty salmon, determined to swim upstream. And beach mechs, passionately swimming against the current of dining dullness. You think about a tender salmon filet, marinated in chili lime, grilled to perfection, then complemented by creamy chipotle sauce and warm fire-roasted corn.
The bold beach mech spirit consumes you, and you decide that to honor the salmon, you too will swim against the tide. You jump out of bed, grab some scissors, ignore a lifetime of warnings, and cut off your mattress tag. Like Rubio's Salmon, you have zagged instead of zigged, and it's delicious. Gave them a shot, called them. I had insurance back home from my home state of Nebraska and actually called in, hoping they could beat it, and that's kind of crazy because they beat it by $300 every six months. Yeah, it's pretty crazy because, I mean, as you know, it's probably cheaper back there, the insurance back there, than here. Absolutely. Yeah, and saved me $300, and, yeah, I'm pretty stoked, and I wanted to personally thank you. Dude, I think that's awesome. Did you go down and fill out your paperwork and all that yet? I did. I went out to the Ask and Dino location. Very nice. They hooked it up, didn't they? They told me to tell you what's up. All that good stuff. Was it easy? It was way easier. It took me, like, two minutes on the phone driving down the freeway. You said $300 every six months, so $600 a year. Yeah, when it probably would have cost me, you know. It went up to, like, $800 after I got an accident from Nebraska, and then it went down to, like, $400 here. Congrats, bro. All right, take it, dude. We'll see you. There's Steve. Steve or Steven, I don't remember. Listen, call AIS right now. 1-800-777-4AIS. 1-800-777-4247 or try their website, AISinsurance.com. AutoZone.

Hey, did you guys hear that Metallica is going to be launching a new brand of sneaker? What? Yeah. I bet you'll buy it, man. Oh, no. I'm not going to buy that. Dude, I think the shoe is dope. You don't know. It's not dope. It could be. Hey, I suggested this idea where the sole of each shoe had like a secret compartment for hiding wood and wood-riddling tools. That's so stupid.
You're the only one that would use it. Dude, how awesome would that be? Not awesome. I'm desperate for wood. Save that clip. The Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105.3. Sky, is Eddie like a really hardcore dancing to Avril Lavigne at home? You know, it's so intense. Like intensely dancing. Like he was so serious about it. It was no joking around. Oh, you're so jealous. Is that what's going on there? Let's see. I want people to call in right now for Tone Deaf Karaoke, first of all. Call in for Tone Deaf Karaoke. Call in at 570-1053. Tone Deaf Karaoke is where you try to figure out what Ashley is singing. That's uncomfortable. Sometimes it's hard to tell exactly what it is that she's singing.
Siberian Idol. Software version 7.0. My favorite version. Before we went to break, we talked about how No Doubt was going on tour this summer. And Sky, is there a San Diego date? Yes, there is. I won't be there. When is my idol? Yeah, I think I may have to hit this one up. Sky, let's go. It depends what day of the week it is. All right, let's say it's a Wednesday. No. Only if it's on the weekend. Only if it's a Friday or Saturday. These are the only days I can stay out. When is this, Skye? Well, it's May 22nd, and no doubt we'll be playing at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater, and Paramore will be opening for this. Oh, I love Paramore. What is that? That's a group. Oh, that's a band. They're real good. Yeah, they are. Never heard of them. Oh, it's a Friday, Skye. It's a Friday? Yeah, we're in. Oh, we're there. Come on now. Let's do it again. In Tone Deaf Karaoke, the object of the game is to try to tell us what it is that Ashley is singing. I'm very tired.
I'm not feeling right. What the heck was that? All I wish is to be alone. I'm very tired. Stop. Don't you engage my home. Is this a song? It's more of a haiku. Don't come in. A lonely running haiku. I'm very tired. I'm very tired. Why is she yelling at it? I'm very tired. That's weird. You need to isolate that. That's the best, dude. I'm very tired. Wow. How are you feeling? Well, you know. I'm very tired. That explains. Fine. Get a nap. I'm very tired. That's so weird. Why do you look so sleepy? I'm very tired. Okay. All right, fine. Fine. Hey, have you been working out or what's going on with you? I'm very tired. Oh, okay. Because it looked like you were just so drained or whatever. 5701053, if you want to play tone-deaf karaoke, just give us a call. P1 Al is on the line. Hello, Al. How's it going, guys? Pretty good. How you doing? Did you say LOL? I said Al. LOL? Al is on the line. Al is on the line. LOL. Al, you know how tone-deaf karaoke works, right?
I do. Yep. I play a clip for you when it's done. You tell me what it is. All you need is title or artist and you win. Here we go. Hey, Al. You know what that was? That was a cat dying. Yeah. Can you give me title or artist? I have no idea. Dude, come on. That was kind of easy, that one. That was Poison Talk 30. Yeah. Eddie was definitely a fan. Yeah.
I did not speak poison. I did not speak poison. Rob and I had a debate yesterday about what's better, the 80s or the 90s, Rock. Well, the 90s was obviously way better. It was stupid because the 80s were the best. The 80s were awesome. And you know what we did? Oh, it was horrible. I had to sit through the whole thing. What we did was we were both on YouTube, respectively. And you were, like, battling? Yes. He would be like, well, what about this? And he'd play some stupid 90s one song. I'd be like, no way, bro. And I'd bust out, like, Motley Crue. You know, he was done. 80s was better. The battle will continue. Listen, I'll tell you how you win the argument. 80s had more flavor. No doubt about it. 80s had more flavor. Listen, the 90s was bland. It was bland. We were melancholy, man. We were melancholy. I don't think that's helping your argument, Rob. P1 Enrique. Enrique, you want to try to tackle a little tone-deaf karaoke? Yes, I do. Okay, I will play you a clip of Ashley singing. Ashley is our assistant producer. I'm going to play you a clip of her singing.
And she was on American Idol. It's the truth. She appeared on the show. Yeah, one of those joke auditions. There was over 30,000 people that auditioned. One of those goofy auditions where we all laugh. She was one step away from Hollywood. I got the golden ticket. No, she was not that. It was one step away from Hollywood. She got the golden ticket. You didn't go to Hollywood. I practically did. No, she was close. No, she was not. She was closer than any of us. Well, she lives in San Diego. Enrique, I'm going to play you a clip of Ashley singing and then just give me a title or an artist after the clip is done and you win. What is the prize, by the way? We got $50 gift certificates to Payway. Oh, it's a delicious restaurant. Oh, yum. That's right. Here we go. All right, wait. Hold on. Yeah, let's take a step back there. That note has never been hit. I should have warned you. I should have warned you. I'm sorry. In the history of Tones of Care, that note. In the history of music. In the history of the human ear. Yeah. I should have given you guys a heads up. Never been heard before. Let's try it one more time, though. Here we go. All right.
That's not fair to him. That was not one word in that. No, there was not. That's not fair to Enrique. That isn't fair to all of our listeners. Man, that was horrible. I have no idea. Avril Lavigne. Oh, dude, you are so close, actually. It is in that vein. It is in that vein. I will tell you this. It's 90s. It is not 90s rock. It is 90s pop. But he's in the right vein. Think Avril, but don't think girl. No, you should think girl. I'm going to give you a hint because you need it.
I'm going to give you a hint, Enrique, because you need it. This game is not fair. What? This band. Band? This band that she is singing consists of three young boys. Oh, man. Oh, I just got it. I just got it. Blink-182. Oh. That is incorrect. That was actually Hanson. Guy, yes. Mike. He's right. Dead on. Scott, that's the truth. That's what she's saying. It wasn't dead on Hanson. That was funny. I'm hearing it. It's not as crazy. Nothing. Hillcrantz. Oh, yeah. The drummer. That was a difficult one. Okay. P1 Rude Dog's on the line. Hey, what's up, Mikey? Oh, Rude Dog. These guys in here are sensational. Yes. These guys in here. You're the one who said it. Out of control. I didn't even know.
Are you kidding? Let's move along. Who said what? Let's do this, all right? Rude Dog, I'm going to play you a clip, and when the clip is done, give me title or artist, and you win. Are you ready? Be easy on me. All right, here we go. Say words. Neti pot. Use a neti pot. That was the whole thing. We're trying to give a... way these payway gifts. Does she not know that? She's not saying words. No, she's not. Just making noises is not singing. I feel bad for the P1s today. If you put the nutty pot in one nostril, it'll help it. It'll clean this right out. I don't think so. I'm saying a word, Eddie. No, you're not. You're strangling the note. I'm holding it.
P1 Rude Dog. Give me title or artist and you win. Oh, I have no clue. Oh, it's Metallica. That's who it was. Oh, come on. So terrible. I'm so sorry, Rude Dog. I'm so sorry, Rude Dog. Ashley, you want to be in my band? Oh, my gosh. All right, Bert. All right, Bert. Bert, you're the last person to play. You're the last hope. You're our last hope. You're our only hope. Bert, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Okay, Bert. I'm going to play the song. It's a clip. When it's done, give me title or artist, and you win. Are you ready? Let's do this.
Sing in. Give me title or artist, Bert. That's a good one. Oh, my goodness. Come on. Is that Green Day? It's not my fault. Mike, someone has to get this right. We need to give someone else a chance. Should I give them a hint? Let's give them a hint. I'm sorry. You lose, but somebody's got to give this a hint. Ladies and gentlemen, P1 Hall of Famer, P1 Space Boy. You better get this. I'm going to play this, Space Boy. I'm going to play it again, okay? Don't guess. I mean, it's not from Harry Potter, but you should still be able to get this. You should still be able to get this. Uncalled for. You should have said Smashing Pumpkins. Thank you. Space Boy. Are you there, Space Boy? I am here. Let's do this. Yeah, you're stunned. All right, I'm going to play the clip when it's done. I need title or artist for you to win. Here we go. I knew he must have been about 17. But he was going strong. Play my favorite song. Leave it that way. I could tell here it would be too long till he was with me. Yeah, me. And I could tell it would be long till he was with me. Yeah, me. Singing. I love rock and roll.
You got it, buddy. Oh, it's awesome. Come on, Ash, do it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What happened? What happened? was incredible. Holy moly. Spaceboy, you win. Yeah. You have a $50 gift certificate now to Payway. That sounds great. You got it. No Billy Corgan, but he is pretty cool. That is true. Thank you. That's true. Hang on a line. No Dumbledore. The Mikey Show is on. Cock-a-doodle-doo? That's supposed to get me out of bed? Yet cock-a-doodle don't work for me. Know what does? Subway flatbread omelet sandwiches.

Well, the ride is winding down a little bit here in some places, but still pretty tough on others. It's westbound 8, still a bit tight here right around Lake Murray, and then again from the 15 in towards the valley, past the Q to Texas Street. Out of the South Bay, things are improving a little bit. Certain break up on that 805 northbound, especially up to National City. A little pockets there now, but still quite tough once you get into Kearney Mesa, crawling from Balboa, heading up over that 52. South 15 has been a tough one this morning, as usual. Slow and go from the 78 to Via Rancho Parkway. You've got some heavy rides again from Rancho Bernardo, though, all the way down towards Mercy Road in Poway. And this coaster ride, South 5, is still heavy from Palomar Airport Road all the way to Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. I got lightheaded. I got my Mikey. One of the only times I was ever in shape in my life was when I was a freshman in high school, you know? Eddie. I love Wookiees. Sky. I don't know. Wait, wait. Boston Rob. What would you do for your Red Sox? I would do anything. And Ashley. I didn't even go to San Diego State. I did. I tried to. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Who's that? Who are we listening to? You don't know? I guess Rob didn't plug this in. I don't know who it is. Foo Fighters. Yeah, Foo Fighters are good. Welcome back. It's A23. It's the Mikey Show. Glad to have you back here. A couple of things. Kim Kardashian had to apologize for some pictures that she put on her website. What was it, Skye? Well, that's probably not what you think it is.
Kim Kardashian posted pictures of her with a chimp that she was allegedly pet sitting for. Allegedly. Allegedly. Yeah. And she posted them on her website the same week that that woman in Connecticut was mauled and had her face ripped off by that chimp. And so I don't know if she got complaints or like. why she's issuing an apology but she has issued an apology basically saying that she understands her timing was not appropriate and it was insensitive of her and the reason she posted the pictures is they were taken months ago when they were filming for keeping up with the kardashians and she wanted to post them to like help get buzzed to launch the third season or something so she goes on to say what happened to that woman that was attacked by the chimp was devastating And her family is praying for everyone involved in the traumatizing attack. And in no way did she mean to insult or offend anyone by posting those pictures. No, that explains it all. We forgive you. Like, who cares? We care. We do? A lot. Oh, okay. I was upset. Speaking of primates, there's a new law that they're trying to pass about owning.
Monkeys, right, Skye? Yeah, it's been passed in the House, but it still needs to make its way through the Senate. It's called the Captive Primate Safety Act. Are you kidding me? Yeah, and basically it would make it illegal for people to buy or transport primates across state lines for them to keep them as pets. Eddie, this hurts me so bad. Michael Jackson. This hurts me so bad that they're doing that. Well, it kind of makes sense. I mean, you and Bubbles are... Well, I just, I love bubbles. You would have to get rid of bubbles. I do have to get rid of bubbles. You do? Yeah, and I'm thinking to myself, what's next? Are they going to ban people from owning former child stars, too? Well, you can't own a person, Michael. Well, where are we, live in Russia? Or Pluto? Well, nobody lives on Pluto, Michael. Maybe you, but... You want to know something, man? The next thing they're going to do is tell me that sleepovers are illegal. Well, they are for you, Michael. I mean, you should not be doing... Eddie, rules are for fools. That's stupid. That is stupid, Michael. Rules are for fools. I like that, Michael. That is not a saying. I can't talk long, you guys, because I will have my fight club in a few minutes.
You're in a fight club, Michael Jackson? Yeah, and I'm taking on Wall-E tonight. You're taking on Wall-E. Yeah. But I love Wall-E. And then Jeff Goldblum's in my fight club, and he's fighting Sal the Polar Bear. Jeff Goldblum is taking on Sal the Polar Bear. Sal the Polar Bear. And Bubbles wanted a piece of Julianne Moore. Julianne Moore, out of all people. This is getting ridiculous. It is getting ridiculous. We can't do anything. There are certain things, though, that you can't do specifically. There are certain things that you can't do. Don't get up anyway. I'm just disappointed, man, in the power that I no longer wield. What do you mean? This law went through, and I... 20 years ago, I'd have been able to do something about it, but I called Senator Palpatine two weeks ago. Okay, that's not a real person. It is a real person. And I bribed him. Yeah, what'd you bribe him with? 46 standard units. What does that mean? What is that? Is that a Star Wars term? I don't know. You're ridiculous, Michael Jackson. No, I'm not. I bribed a real senator, and I know I'm saying this on the radio, and it's probably going to get me in trouble, but I bribed.
Senator Palpatine with 46 standard units. That's pretty impressive. You're watching too many movies. And I even sweetened the pot with four cases of Von's frozen rolled tacos. Wow. And still nothing? 46 standard units. Oh, you got a new song. Okay. The 46. All right, Michael. If I have to give away one more monkey this week. Oh, no. I don't know what I'm going to do. What? Are you okay? Last week, the feds came to my door, and they were demanding to see my permit for my abalone farm. You have an abalone farm? No, that's the point. I don't even have an abalone farm anymore. That's weird. I have a baloney farm. Okay. Well, never mind. Yeah, I don't want to know. I can't believe these lawmakers are so cruel to me. It's not just you, Michael. It's everybody. They're not going to let everybody own chimpanzees and pests. That's what they're saying. This is really going to create a hardship for me and my family. What do you mean? How so? If they take Bubbles, who's going to cook for the family and watch the kids when I travel? Bubbles does that? Bubbles does that now. I don't think that's a good idea. No, no, no. It's a wonderful idea. You should not have your chimp watching your kids. It's dangerous.
How would they want to have law, Eddie, where people can't have primates? Why? Well, we heard about the attack, you know, Michael, and it seems like a dangerous thing. I think that that is really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really messed up. Do you think it's really messed up? It's really messed up. Gotcha, bro. They already took my prancing panther. Your what? My prancing panther. Your prancing? who was pregnant, by the way, and forgot his prenatal vitamins when they were dragging him out and tasing him and dragging him out. He was pregnant. Without his prenatals. That's so stupid. And then they took my rainbow bright hippo. Oh, no. I don't know what that is. I didn't even get to say goodbye. Oh, Michael. It's okay, buddy. Poor Michael. Can I tell you guys a secret? I don't know. I don't know if I want to hear it. No, no. I don't think of you. I have another chimpanzee. You do? Yeah, his name is Rooster, and he's my personal trainer. Wait. That seems weird. And he said to me, train with me for one month, and you will have the strength of 7,000 men and some prison thumping abs. Oh, wow. Wow.
Chimpanzee said that to you. Sign me up. Rooster. Okay. He's my personal trainer. That's so weird. That's so strange. So I'm paying him in 1,200 Lucky Charms. The boxes or actual? That is the stupidest. I'm sorry. You're right. What do you say? I am an idiot. I am an idiot. I apologize. We have our first workout on April 46th. That's not a date. That's not a date. And he also, he gave me my own pair of dolphin shorts. Oh, I don't want to see that. What? I don't want the fez and try to take away Fluffy. Who's that? My pet fart. You guys, as it is, as it is, I barely see him. Because he only comes out after Taco Tuesday. That's a true story. I believe him, guys. Oh, there's Fluffy now. Can I tell you about my belly button? No. On the rock. Cock-a-doodle-doo? That's supposed to get me out of bed? It cock-a-doodle don't work for me. Know what does? Subway flatbread omelet sandwiches. Western and cheese and double bacon and cheese, each on warm and tasty flatbread. Got a rooster that says that? I'll listen.
Try the Subway flatbread omelet sandwiches. And now, top it off with a cup of freshly brewed Seattle's best coffee. Subway, eat fresh. Products may vary. Well, the ride is staying pretty tough in some spots out here. The Southbound 5, still heavy out of the North County from Carlsbad all the way to Salada Beach. The 15 commute, still tough out of Escondido on the South 15 from the 78 down of the Aranjo Parkway. And then more brake lights at Aranjo-Bernardo all the way down into Poway. Things are looking much better, though, out of the East County on the Westbound 8. This is a little bit tight here from the 805 and past the Q to Texas Street.
And things are breaking up out of the South Bay in this 805 northbound. That's the minor delays of the National City now. Still quite heavy, though, out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over the 52. Coverage details at VerizonWireless.com. Another visit from President Obama. There was a couple of things I wanted to mention last night. President Obama. What an honor. I wanted to talk to America about...
Some important new legislation to help increase America's wealth. Oh, good. We need this. Yeah. I think that all our household pets should be enrolled in college. Wait. Our pets? All of them. Why? Every household pet should be enrolled in college. I think everybody should be in college. Our nation's pet population is one of the dumbest in the world. Wait, Obama, how can you even tell that? Eddie, look at Skye's cats, for example. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105.3. Don't be jealous. It was hot, Skye. It's shaking your mouth. Skye has put your tongue back in your mouth. Ladies and gentlemen, it's The Mikey Show. It is 8.35. Did I not play the 360? You sure did not. Now, with what's up in your world, this is the Mikey Show 360. I was shaking my rump. Did you hear the beginning of that song? I mean, you know what I'm saying? I don't blame you, but I'm just saying. Okay, listen to me. Obama has a new budget out. And apparently the environmentalists are upset about it.
Uh-oh. Broken promises again, huh? This is a bit controversial. Broken promises. You don't even know what it is. I know how he is. What did he do? Tell us. Okay. So one of the things is to cut carbon emissions. To put a cap on carbon emissions. You know, these are the greenhouse gases that... companies release while they're making their products and doing things. Which is great. He said he wanted to do that. The environment is important. You guys are so sophomoric. You just did that one. I didn't do that one. Fart noises are funny. Just let me know when you're done. These are adult men. These are adult men in their mid-20s and mid-30s and in my case, late-30s that think that farts are hysterical. Continue reporting. Ooh, that was a side of rice. Stop it. Hey. Pardon me. Whap. Whap. Burp. Lurbert. This is so ridiculous. Skye. Skye. Skye has no expression. Skye, you've got to do something. Skye has no expression. I can't do it. I'm in the other room. My wife didn't get it either, but you guys just don't get it. Slap them all. Just go around and slap them all. Sam. What? Squish. Bobbity boopy.
Sky just looked over at me like, like, for real? Like, for real? This is the funniest thing we've done in days. First time I've laughed in days. Don't you do it! No. Sky, you were saying. And what was the deal? And the budget? So, yeah. So, Obama plans to put a cap on carbon emissions, right, to fight global warming. Shut your... stupid mouths grow up, okay? It's called greenhouse gases, okay? It's a real thing. Just grow up. Okay, so as part of the budget, and this is where environmentalists are a little upset. What? Greenhouse emissions? No, as part of our budget, America's budget, a way to get money, to raise money, is so, you know, they're going to put the cap.
is to basically sell permits that would allow companies to go over the capped amount. So they will have to pay us money, and they can go over the capped amount, but they got to pay a bunch of money. That does not sound very Democrat, liberal Democrat to me. That's very Republican. Well, yeah, it's very Republican. We do need the money, and, you know, I don't know. No, this Obama guy is not so bad after all. Yeah, he's not. Skye, talk to me about your feelings on this. Well, see, what I want to know is I want to know the specifics because obviously cutting the carbon emissions is good. You know, we need that across the board. Cut them, put a cap on them. Good. So if you then get this permit, I want to know how much extra it's going to let you admit. Is it going to be above the standards that we have right now? Are we talking enchiladas or side of rice? Where are we at in that? That's not a legitimate question. On the emissions scale. Don't look at me like you think that's a legitimate question because it's not. Are we talking tamale, chili relleno, side of rice? That's the scale. That is not the scale. Where do you fall in that line?
That doesn't even make sense. And boom goes the dynamite. So that's just one of the things that's come out of the new budget that he plans to present to Congress today. Another is stuff that we know Batman. Other stuff is stuff we've already known, like raising the taxes on the wealthiest 2%. That would be couples that make more than $250,000 a year and individuals that make more than $200,000 a year. So we already knew that one was coming. And, you know, more money for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, about $75 billion. When does it all go into effect? The budget? I don't know. So he's presenting it to Congress. Oh, there's Obama. Yeah. So, Eddie and Skye and I and our spouses went to Barbecues Galore last night. Yeah, just shopping for a new barbecue. Yeah, we all decided to eat there. It was weird. We just, like, ran into each other. Yeah, and buy some stuff. Like, hey, what are you doing here? Butt rub.
That's right. We were getting some up rub. So we were in 4S Ranch. A place that Mike didn't even know existed. I didn't. Really? No, no, no. I didn't know. It's really nice. It's a place in San Diego. Kind of a newer community. Yeah. It's gorgeous out there. And they have sort of their, you know, what would be their flagship looking barbecues galore out there. And this place was. Awesome. Is it a restaurant or a store? It's a store. Let us tell you. It's a store. That is the question, Ashley. Edge of my seat. That is the question. It's a store, but they have this area in there that they have set up as a kitchen where you can go in there and watch people cook and they do classes. And they made us a meal. It was phenomenal. It was so good. Now, Skye is very picky, and my wife is very picky. But it was neat to watch it go down, because it's like a class, but they're also feeding you. So you get to eat a three-course meal, but they're explaining to you all along how they're cooking it. You're watching them cook it. They're pairing drinks with it. One of them cook, like Emeril or something? Well, yeah. What was super cool...
is, like, you're sitting at this counter, and so you're watching it, but they also have cameras everywhere and flat screens all around. So you're seeing close-ups of, like, the cutting board and the grill. Whenever there's something like that where it's, like, it's live, but they have the TVs, I still watch it on TV. Yeah. Isn't that weird? I know. I felt myself. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I do, too. I was watching the screens a lot. Yeah. But it was really cool, and they cooked really good. They had a chef there, and he was really good. The food I thought was phenomenal. My wife, we had to tell him, was allergic to fish, even though she's not allergic. She just hates anything from the ocean or the water. And this was raw fish. There was no way she was going to eat it. Plus, Debra and her, Eddie's wife and my wife, they're both pregnant. So they stay away from fish, especially uncooked fish. And they were serving martinis and all the stuff they couldn't have. It was hysterical. It was pretty funny. But it was good. And they have these new, I love grilling, and I was checking out their stuff, and they have these new infrared grills. I was hearing about it all day. Dude, it was crazy. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, infrared. They're crazy. Yeah, they're awesome. It's like the surface of the sun you're cooking on. Yeah. Oh, that scares me, though. Dude, it's amazing, though. Where is this at? Barbecue School Ranch. And Forest Ranch. Where is that? It's over by Rancho...
Bernardo. It's by Rancho Bernardo. Yeah, it's like the west part of Rancho Bernardo. The west side of the 15th. Ah, the west side. That's right. Yeah, so, but you can take those, like, classes. Like, you can go. That's what I want. Like, it would be, like, a little date thing, you know? Oh. Like, you know? Well, no, actually, I mean, I didn't mean it that way. You can go by yourself, too, Ashley. I didn't. You can take a dog. You can't take your dog. No, you can't. No, you're not allowed to take your dog. I didn't mean it. You can't go by yourself. I'm sorry, Ashley. You can't go by yourself. It was fun, though. I had a really good time. I need to take a cooking class because I need to learn basic skills. You would learn stuff. You could. Just the chopping, dicing, all that. Don't you think that 90% of cooking is seasoning? Yeah. I really believe that. Because, like, the way he's seasoned, you know, some people may look at it and go, oh, he overput, you know, but it's not. Yeah, you can't be shy. Yeah, like, seasoning is huge. I saw the grill of my dreams there last night. Which one was it? Charcoal. Oh, your dreams. Charcoal. Oh, yeah. It's like a built-in that you would picture. Picture a built-in. That is, you know, like a built-in grill. Only instead of gas, it's charcoal. Yeah. And you can raise and lower the charcoal. That's cool. Is the charcoal, like, it stays in there permanently? No, it burns and eventually turns into dust. You know, it's charcoal. What happens, Ash? Mike. Yes? You know it stays there permanently. Don't.
Rob has this deal where when someone asks a strange question, Rob wants to tell them that yes, that's true. He wants them to believe it. Does it come with the charcoal? Yes, it comes with what they call permanent charcoal. It never burns. Stop it. It always stays hot. You know what? She's learning to explain. She's learning. I can't what you're doing. No. I'm picking up what you're putting down. Make sure when you go there, ask for that. The permanent charcoal? Yeah. Do you have the permanent charcoal? I get it. I get it. I get it. I get it. I get it. I want one of them infrared things, man. Those were crazy. They're pretty awesome. I loved it. 5701053 is our phone number. Do you have a rotisserie thing on your grill? You do? What? I got to get one of those. What is that? Would you use it? Yeah. See, I have it. I don't use it. Does that come with the permanent charcoal? It comes with the permanent charcoal as you stick it on there and then it turns over the permanent charcoal and then the chicken cooks. It's incredible. Cooks in 4.5 seconds. That sounds so cool. 4.5 seconds? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Holy shambles. You set it and then forget it. Forget it. And then you forget it. Then you set it and forget it. I got a few things I want to tell you about. I have a few things. Okay. Eddie, did you get long? Why were you late?
Well, you know, I would never be late tonight. I've never been late to anything about it. Don't you dare. Don't you dare do this right now. She's carrying your child. I love my wife. She is carrying your love child. I love her. And I was cool. Tread lightly. I was cool. So I went to put the address in to the GPS, but it's a new place. So they didn't have it. Same with us. So I was like, man, how am I going to find this place? And Debra had a friend of hers that lives right over there. She goes, oh, I'll just call her and find out where it is. That's cool. And so she called her, got directions. Now, mind you, a woman. No, no, no, no. In context, that makes perfect sense. I need to make that perfectly clear. A lot's coming into focus here. And so we got the directions. Of course, they were wrong. Well, Eddie, you said already. You already said you got them from. I know. She said to get off on Camino del Sur off the 15. There is no Camino del Sur off the 15th, which I knew. We all know what she meant. And I said, I'm like, that doesn't sound right. But, you know, listen, I'm not from that area, so I didn't want to argue. Yeah, I'm about maybe four exits past Camino del Norte where I'm like, I'm going to end up in Escondido. Like, this is wrong. And, you know, made another call. It's Camino del Norte that you get off on.
And so, hence why we were late. I truly apologize to you two. I didn't mean to keep you waiting. I don't care. I'm okay. Your wife is an angel. It's not her fault. But I didn't blame her. I was cool about it. I didn't even say a word. Well, you're still not. I'm not. You're talking about it on the radio. I'm fine. My gosh. What was I going to do? Lie. No. Yes. I will never lie. Things happen. It's okay. Stop it. Wow. All right. You guys. Everybody settle down. Wow, how dare you? Listen to this one. What? Yesterday, Rob goes to Vons, right? Walks out of Vons, and a chick randomly asks him if he will give her a ride to National City for $10. Do it, Rob. What? It was so odd. That's so odd. Because I went there kind of late, because I just needed to get my purrier.
That's it. Perrier. Perrier. How do you say it? Perrier. For the morning. I had collected enough change yesterday to get one. Wow. Unbelievable. I'm broke. You know, Eddie, maybe we should give him a couple bucks. I've offered many times to take him shopping, but he won't. You would rather be this guy. Yeah, he would. I don't need no handouts. Even though he's searching through couches in the lobby of the radio station for change. Now I'm a taxi. No, and it's probably like 8.30, 9 o'clock. Why are you at Vaughn's at 9 o'clock at night? Because I had nothing to drink for the morning. And what part of town are you in? Claremont. And she wants a ride to National City. Yeah, yeah. So I'm, you know, up in Claremont. And she worded it so weird. She actually said... Give me all your money. Wooded, so strange. She started stuttering. She's like, hey, for $10, will you drop me off near National City? Weird. Oh, man. So did you? And she had a dog, of course. You did? Of course not. That would have been awesome. What did she look like? I need a description. She was a big girl. I would have tried to help.
And see, my thing is, is like, dude, I wouldn't see, I wouldn't take her because I'd be, you know, I don't think that's, I don't think that's safe, but I had to try to help her. If I could, if I could, I'd try to, he couldn't do this. Rob couldn't do this. Rob did what he could do. If I could, and it was within my means, I'd like to get her a cab. Oh, okay. I'm on my back. We're out of here. No, dude, I seriously have my gas like. planned out to make it to work tomorrow, go home, and then not use my car until I get paid. See, aren't you glad February's a short month? Oh. Don't even start. See, aren't you glad, see? Sooner to pay day, bro. February's unfair. Okay, I didn't give you that. Crank it. 28 days? Whoa, just saying. That's like two and a half weeks. I got more teeth than you got days. In your face. Sky pointed it out earlier. It's not like two and a half weeks. It absolutely is like that. It's about 18. Thank you. That is just like that. What you got to say. Why is black history month working short? How do I finish my Willie Mays report? February, February, February, February, February. You're unfair. Yeah.
Was there a take two? Did you try a take two? Obviously not. What? What is that? February, February, February, February, February, you're on fair. Please, I love February. Your holidays suck. They do. Sooner to pay. Except for a few. That's true. Mardi Gras, okay. It is. But it made me pew. What? February, February, February, February, February, February, you're on fair. Eddie. Of course it would. Sorry, I don't want to, you know, your artistic ability, I don't want to question it. February, February, February, February, February, you're unfair. Wow. And thanks for the VD, you know, Valentine's Day. Oh, you got me. You got us. I thought you were going a different direction. I love chocolate more when it's hard shake. February, February, February, February, February, you're unfair. Why would you need February? I don't think it was a full take. So good. What? Yeah, or, you know, or not. It's really good. There is no option. Or not. You're out of options, lady. Hey, did you guys know Morgan Freeman is getting sued? And I'll tell you why next. We're also going to do the Sports Dirt. I have a wife named Rebecca.
Eddie. Daddy had some drinks. That's right. Sky. You know, because I don't buy dessert because I shouldn't eat dessert. Boston Rob. I'm a romantic. I can't help that. And Ashley. Wake up. Take up. Take up. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. That was a great moment. Great moment. Boston Rob just asked Malahal very seriously. It was, I mean, he asked him as serious as you can. He goes. What did you think of my new song? And Mal just looked at him. Just looked at him. There was no answer. He just stared at Rob. And that moment was wonderful. That is true. I don't think he was. Mal Hall is here. And he is a friend of the Mikey Show. Welcome back to 902. And Mal is, first of all, I've told Mal, he's going to be a star one of these days. And he's extremely funny. He's got a website.
Malhall.com, M-A-L-H-A-L-L.com. He's a comedian, and he's got a show going on tonight, right, Mal? Right. What do you got? My show, the show that I promoted the last time I was here, which is the one at the bitter end, I'm doing it again. This is the first show of the year, so we're excited about it. Who's headlining? I got Steven Glickman. He was Shrek on Broadway for a little while. He's from San Diego. by the way. That's cool. And he was Shrek on Broadway in the musical and Last Comic Standing Comedy Central. Is he going to do Shrek tonight? He sings. Oh, that's cool. I love it. That's cool. He's a trained singer. He's awesome. And you're performing. I'm performing. I'm hosting the show. Sweet. My friend Matt Nost from the Comedy Store is going to be out. Johnny LaQuasco from Orange County. He's a good friend of mine. And it's going to be a great show. Show starts at 8. 8 o'clock. Get there early. It's only 10 bucks. That's pretty good, man. For a show like that? Yeah. It's at the Bitter End downtown, which is a fun area. It's just cool. That area downtown is fun. There's a lot of good places to eat down there. So go down there, make a night of it. Go see the single ladies. What up? That's right. Heck yeah. Tickets are sold at the door starting at five o'clock. They start selling it. But the seating is first come first serve.
Get there early. It is limited, so try to get your tickets early. You can come get your tickets and then leave, but we're only selling a certain number of tickets, and then we have to stop. Hey, Mel, did you want to thank some P1s, by the way? Yes. I don't know if he has a P1 name, but there's this guy. His name is Dave L., and he's one of your listeners, and he's come out to some shows at the Comedy Store, and I was in a comedy competition in Irvine. And that I won, by the way. You did? Yeah, it was like two weeks ago. That's awesome. At the Irvine Improv. And Dave hits me up and he's like, hey, man, I'm going to come to your show. And I sent him an email back and I'm like, hey, man, you know, it's in Irvine, right? That's like an hour drive. He's like, yeah, I'm totally going to be there. I'm dragging my girlfriend. I'm like, awesome. So he came out to the show and brought his girlfriend and they watched the show. And that was really cool of him. So I wanted to thank him. So he's kind of stalking you? Yeah, I guess. Congratulations. I like girls, bro. No, he's really cool. Mal is a talented dude, man, and he's going to be tonight at the bitter end, and it's 8 o'clock, so get out there. That's cool that the guy drove all the way up to Irvine. Yeah, I wanted to thank all your listeners, though, because you mentioned the comedy store show that I had. I got a ton of emails. Everyone came out. I ended up showing up late to that show. I took a nap in the middle of the day. You guys know how it is waking up in the morning. So I took a nap too long.
all of them stayed and waited until I got there like an hour late to watch the show. So all of your P1s that come out and support, thank you very much. Sky, by the way. I have Mal on Facebook and you could be writing on his wall. No, I protest Facebook. Rob and I are the last holdouts. What's your problem with Facebook? Well, we talk to people face to face. We don't actually need a computer to pretend like we're speaking to someone's face. You only have like 10 friends then? Is that it? That has nothing to do with the fact that I have Facebook. 10 is really pushing it. Mal, you like the Facebook, right? Love Facebook. It's awesome. It's cool to keep in contact with friends from high school or college or whatever or ex-co-workers. Not good to hook up with chicks though. Not good. Here's some advice to the guys listening. Do not try to hook up with a girl on Facebook. Why? It's not going to work out. Why?
I've been poking this chick for two months. Sky didn't even know what that means. She doesn't even know what that means. This is a family show. There's a real thing on there, Sky, called poking. The Facebook people are laughing their butts off right now. I've been poking this chick for two months. Nothing. I'm thinking about super poking her tomorrow, just to let her know. I'm in business, right? This is Facebook humor, by the way. He's going to super poke her tomorrow. I don't know if you've heard this, but MySpace is the new... booty call. Eddie, you said that was... Eddie, that's not catching on. You're not starting that. If you want to try it out... You're not starting that. What do you do? Just send a message? Like, yo. I don't know. I don't know how it works. Oh, come on. I just know it's the new booty call. Okay. That's all he's got. I'll try it out. Mal is... Okay, Mal, you say this in your stand-up. Mal is African-American and... Asian. He's Cablin Asian. He's like Tiger Woods. Did you see me on the cover of the newspaper today? Yeah, that was awesome. Wait a second. That's Tiger Woods. That's not actually you. You sure? That's Tiger Woods. Okay, I thought it was me. You thought that was you. I played some golf yesterday. You did? Yeah. Tiger Woods 09, you know? Okay. You're looking good. What's up? Mal, have you celebrated Black History Month? Oh, yeah. Did you guys do anything to celebrate this month? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've been celebrating all month long. Bye.
Having you in the studio. This is the one thing you guys are doing? I think it's good enough. You don't think so? That's right. All of our notes on our papers have been printed in the color black. You are welcome. I've been doing something different. I'm trying to go all out to celebrate. I've been getting around on the Underground Railroad. Wait a second. That's what I've been doing. Think about it. No, I don't think that's appropriate. It's green, you know? It is. It's green and black all at one time. Who are you to tell him what he does? What are you going to do to a white girl? What are you going to do? It's basically hitchhiking. It's kind of scary. Trying to follow the Big Dipper in the middle of the afternoon doesn't really work. That's not good. That's fantastic. Skye enjoyed that so much. She will be adding you on Facebook later. I'm not getting on Facebook. She's poking you, Mel. I'm not. We could poke each other. It'll be awesome. I'm a married woman. It's awkward. It's not like that. It's awkward poking in person. If I poked you right now, I'd be like, ugh, and then call your husband. But if we poke on Facebook, it's totally fine. It's fine. I don't play by your kinky rules now.
the concept. What is the concept? So you poke somebody and they're supposed to be like, oh, hi. What are you supposed to say when somebody pokes you? I don't understand. I think it's just like, hey, I've been looking at your profile. You'll poke. Check out your pictures. Hey, remember me? I'm smoking a pancake. Just a little poke. Skye, we can't get her on it. Skye's a flake when it comes to the... Ouch. She is when it comes to the Facebook. When it comes to the Facebook. That's the wrong word. Is there anything worse than Friends that will flake on you, Mel? Friends... that flake are the worst. I think we all have. Do you have friends that flake, Ashley? Actually, I'm the friend. She's the flaker. You make plans and just break them last minute. Here's the thing about people that flake. They think we don't know they're going to flake. Yeah, 100% true. They think it's a surprise to us. We think they're sincere every time. Oh man, they really had something come up. No, we know you're flaking. And there's two things that every flake
Does. There are two telltale signs your friend's going to flake. Number one, they give you specific details about the event they're going to flake on in the phone call. Of course. I invited my friend to the comedy store last night. I'm like, Christian, are you coming to the comedy store? He's like, oh, that's the club in La Jolla, right? It has the ivy on the wall? Yeah. That's Wrigley Field Ivy, right? Yeah. It only grows in that temperature, right? Yeah. I'm like, yeah, sure. It's a comedy club, dude. You coming? Here's the thing. This is the tell. This is the tell. This is the major tell right here. If your friend says yeah more than one time, they are not coming. So at the end of the call, I'm like, dude, you coming? He's like, yeah. True. So true. Yeah, I'll be there. You just said yes 318 times. You will not be there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Hurry. Yeah. Yeah, I'll totally be there. Now, if they were going to be there, they'd be like, yeah, I'll be there. Yeah, I'll totally be there. Yeah, more than twice is a lie. Did you know that Rob says, yeah, no? Rob will say yes. You ask him a question, he'll go, yeah, no, no, yeah. That's a lie, too. It's the same thing. If I say to you, Rob, are you coming tomorrow night? You go, yeah, no, nah.
Yes or no? No, I will definitely not be there. No, that's what I do. If you ask me if I was going to be there, I'd be like, nah, dude, of course I'm going to be there. So then if you don't show up, you could be like, no. If you remember, I said no. But you also said yeah. That's the problem. Make up your mind, dude. And that month song, by the way, what is... Dude, it's terrible. How long did it take you to write that? Mal, did you love it? No. About 30 seconds. It took you 30 seconds to write that? It seems like it. It just came to him. It just came out. The month of February, man. Come on. 28 days. That's like two and a half weeks. No, it's not. It's not. How many days are in your weeks, Rob? That's what I want to know. That would be 16 days. Yeah. Do the math on that, bro. Who am I, man? Steve Jobs? Black people are getting screwed with this Black History Month in February, by the way. He says that in a song. It's a very political song.
I was really upset. February, what you got to say. Yeah, what's up now? Like, February will be like, I'll tell you what I got to say. I'll tell you what's up. Oh, really? You want to go? I went to my nephew's elementary school. They're teaching the month song different now. Do you guys remember the month song? Do you remember which months have 30 days and which ones have 31? Do you remember that? How'd it go? It's totally changed now. It's like 30 days have September, April, June, and November. All the rest have 31, except for February because it's Black History Month. Screw it. 26 days. 27 days. That is so messed up. I can't believe they do that. Mal does a lot of jokes about driving. We've had him in before and we've heard a lot of driving stuff. He has a lot of strong feelings about driving. A lot of stuff driving around. What have you seen out there lately? What observations have you made? I've seen the smart car. Oh, I love the smart car. No, you don't. Yeah, it's so tiny and fuel efficient, but it's awesome. It looks like it was already in an accident. You know what I mean? It looks like it was a car that was just rear-ended. They're like, oh, just put new wheels on it. Come on. I want to know, who's the guy? What state of mind do you have to be in to walk into a car dealership, walk around the parking lot, look at all the cars, and go into the showroom and be like, you know what?
Just give me the oversized power wheels over there. The oversized hot wheel plugged into the wall. That's the car that I want. That's hideous. It's hideous. Leave it alone. Everyone's like, oh, it's green. You said it's like a green. The thing that makes it green is it doesn't run on gas. The car comes with a big guy, and he just pulls the car back, back, back, back, back, back, and then lets it go. And that's how the car is powered. Oh, there it is. Oh, he's coming back. There's a smart car coming back. I saw a guy driving a smart car yesterday with a bumper sticker that says size doesn't matter. Who the hell are you fooling, dude? Tonight, it's going to be going on downtown tonight. Show starts at 8 o'clock. Emission's 10 bucks. It's at the Bitter End downtown. And when it sells out, it sells out. Mal, you're the best. Thank you, dude. Thank you. You guys are the best. Thank you for having me. Appreciate it. Thank you, P1. The Mikey Show. Why can't you just have a Coke engine?

We do have an accident, though, on the southbound 5 to Camp Pendleton at Bassalone Road. A bad overturn crash. There's emergency crews on the scene, and traffic's starting to back up behind that. When did you get past that, though? You've got a good-looking ride out of the North County down that shoreline. I also watched for a stalled-out car here on the eastbound 52 ramp to south 805, so be careful taking that transition. Other than that, though, we're pretty much up to speed throughout the county. The border wait is still about an hour and a half in some ways at San Ysidro. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. That's crazy.

Let him do it. How does he know all the words? Sorry. That's crazy. That's crazy.
Thank you. Thank you so much. Somebody put a ruler in his mouth. It is 922. Welcome back to the show, ladies and gentlemen. Sky was going to tell us why Morgan Freeman was getting sued. Why is he? So I don't know if you guys remember this. When he was in a car crash in Mississippi and there was a chick in his car and then everybody was like, who's this? There was a chicken in Morgan Freeman's car? It was Shawshank Redemption, Mike. I don't know if you know what it is. Andy Dufresne. Andy Dufresne broke out and then eventually read that poll. He was obtuse. Anyway. So, yeah, they were in this car crash, and there was this gal in the car, and everybody was like, who is this chick? You know, she is mistress. You know, what's going on? Who is this lady? Well, this lady has filed a lawsuit. She is suing for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability, and other damages because she claims that Morgan Freeman was drinking. before he got behind the wheel. Really? Now, the way she says it went down is that she first met up with him at dinner. And through the course of dinner, she noticed he was having a few drinks. And then they left dinner and went to meet with him and some of his friends at his friend's house. And then they had some more drinks there. And then Morgan invited her to stay at his house for the night.
guaranteeing that she will have her own bedroom and no shenanigans are going to go on. And she agreed to that. And then about 1130 when they were driving. Ladies, ladies, ladies. Come on now. Married. Come on, ladies. Like we're stupid. Come on. What are you doing, ladies? First of all, if she saw him drinking that entire time, why did she get in the car with him? That's what I'm saying. It's a good question. It's your own fault, dummy. Yeah. Come on. So about 1130 at night when they were driving to his house, he lost control of the car, ran off the road, got in an accident. So she suffered a broken left wrist, a broken right scapula, a torn labrum in her right shoulder, and bruises and laceration. Every time Neil Diamond has come into the studio, Ashley has broke the same exact thing. I've heard it happen a million times. He keeps throwing that guitar at her. Yeah, he throws that thing around and it happens. He's very violent. He is. She's suing. Every once in a while when he throws that guitar, you've got to be careful because it could hit any part of your ball. And you just have to be careful with it. Now, with the top sports stories of the day, it's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. All the big news yesterday, Tiger Woods is back, and he's back to his old self. He won his first-round match play contest against Brendan Jones, whoever that is. Yeah, he looked good, man. He looked like Tiger Woods. And he talks about...
You know, this being one of his comebacks, his multiple comebacks. I've come back from surgery before, but never this long. It was totally different. Never had a major surgery like this either. So it's, you know, plus also I didn't have quite the same attention, you know, paid to one of their comebacks. But this one was certainly different. This was a lot harder away from the competitive environment, away from this. trying to get back to this by far more difficult. You're the greatest. He is the greatest. He takes on Tim Clark in the second round. A-Rod had an interesting day yesterday. Besides dealing with that, he hit a home run in his first spring training game.
But he's off the steroids. Wouldn't that be a surprise? He's off the steroids. No, he's not, Michael. You think he's still on them? Well, when he was batting, there was a needle coming out of his butt. That's ridiculous. I don't need to. What are you doing, guys? After he hits his home run, game's end, over. He gets into an SUV with Yuri Sukkart, the cousin that was involved in the steroid scandal. Told ya! That's ridiculous. Wouldn't you stay... steer clear of that guy? Yes, I would. That doesn't make any sense. Oh, man. I would stay away from him. Well, I got a lot of wheeling and dealing in the NFL. The Giants and running back Brandon Jacobs have come to a four-year, $25 million extension, so Brandon Jacobs will remain with the New York Giants. Love Brandon Jacobs. You do? Yeah, I think he's good for fantasy football. That is true. The Buccaneers have released Brooks and Dunn. Brooks and Dunn? Yeah, Brooks and Dunn.
No more country on that team? I love that band. No, I don't want to confuse you guys. Derek Brooks and Warwick Dunn. Okay, got it. What did Faith Hill say? Of course, no. She had nothing to do with it. No. How bizarre is it that they really released Brooks and Dunn? I love it. I read that and I'm like, yes. How bizarre is that? But Derek Brooks, I mean, he's the face of that franchise. That's kind of a shock that they released him. And the guitar player. All right. We get it. They also released Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard, their starting wide receivers. For real? So they're really cutting budgets over there. The Jets released their wide receiver, Lavernius Coles. And the St. Louis Rams released veteran quarterback Trent Green and wide receiver Drew Bennett. Dude, there's a lot of wide receiver help out there. You are 100% correct. And today, A.J. Smith is going to address the media and kind of lay out the plans of what the Chargers are going to do. I mean, I'm sure they're not going to name names, but, you know, they're possibly going to say, you know, hey, we may be looking at. Safety or a backup linebacker or blah, blah, blah. Really? Yeah. And apparently this LT situation may be resolved as early as today. What do you mean? Well, they may say, you know, we're going to go forward and trying to restructure his contract. And, you know, this is the parameters of what we're going to do. Or they could say we can't do it and we're going to release him. Wow.
I can't imagine that. I highly doubt it. I just cannot imagine that happening. I'm a little nervous that the team has been pretty silent about it and that nothing has been done yet. So that makes me a little nervous. It does. Because you would think that with a superstar his magnitude, they would just want to. Yeah, you got to get it done, man. Like they'd be screaming from the rooftops, whatever it takes, you know? I would think so. You would hope. You would hope, Jenner. I would hope so. That's right. So we'll have to wait and see. Usually the Chargers don't get too involved in free agency and stuff like that. But, you know, there may be some guys out there. I mean, like you said, there's a ton of wide receiver talent out there. You get a linebacker like maybe a Kato June or something like that. Kato Kalen. He's not a football player. Oh. I'm just trying to inform Charger fans. Yeah, I know. He's a guy that was involved in the OJ Simpson case. He was a football player. Maybe that's where you're going. They're going to sign OJ. Maybe they'll sign OJ. You never know. I'm an old, broken-down piece of meat. That is for sure. So we'll have to wait and see what the Chargers plan on doing a little later on today. Do you think they'll sign any of those wide receivers out there?
Any of the Joey Galloways, the Ike Hilliards, any of these guys. I don't see any of that. Lavernius Coles. The Chargers really like their guys, and they have a lot of guys they need to re-sign. Malcolm Floyd is a guy who's going to be a restricted free agent, so I would see them re-signing him before going out and signing a guy like Joey Galloway, who's 38. Ashley's a big fan of Malcolm Floyd. Floyd's real good, dude. Why do you think that is? I don't know. I enjoy the whole team, but, you know, there's certain players that, like Floyd, he's real good, dude. Yeah. He catches. Okay. He catches, Eddie. He puts the hands up. You're normally going to see him catch the ball when it's time that's needed. He's real good. He's real good. I just don't understand, really. That sounds right. I'm a fan. Okay, that's fair enough. P1 Sean. Hey, what's up? What's going on? Not much, guys. I just wanted to ask the Oracle what he thought about Tampa Bay getting rid of Warwick Dunn and all those guys. Warwick Dunn isn't a big surprise. I mean, Warwick Dunn, he's kind of on his last legs. Derek Brooks was a little bit of a surprise. I mean, he's been on that team for something like 12 years. He's been an all-pro. He's been an NFL defensive player of the year. Yeah, he's definitely lost his step. But...
You think you can rework those kind of guys' deals so they can retire with the team that they've been known for. And so it's disappointing. It's going to be weird seeing Derek Brooks in a different uniform. I don't like that. I don't like when guys have to end their careers with other teams. It's just terrible. They should figure that stuff out. Do you think he even had an option? I think they wanted him to take a pay cut. I'm sure he didn't want to. To me, though, there has to be a middle ground. Derek Brooks has to realize he's not the player he once was. And the team should also respect the fact that this guy is a future Hall of Famer and one of their best players of all time. So there's got to be some sort of middle ground, just like with the Brett Favre thing. with Marvin Harrison. It's like these guys are known for these teams. They should figure it out. I agree. Thanks for the call, dude. Take it easy. Appreciate it. Rosie O'Donnell's kid thinks that she... Rosie O'Donnell. Rosie O'Donnell. She thinks she drinks... He thinks... Her 13-year-old kid thinks that she drinks too much. He said, you know, I think you drink too much. I said, since when? He goes, recently. I go, no kidding. I said, you know, I didn't drink when I was in my 20s at all. He goes, well, maybe you should do that again. First of all, it's horrible for your weight. Second of all, I'm 47 years old.
And I can see it sometimes on my face when I eat it. I can sort of see, like, in this movie even, I can see a little bit of it. Rosie O'Donnell. Rosie. Rosie O'Donnell. Well, yeah, when it's coming from your kid, it probably means even more. It probably has a much bigger impact. You know you can go to MikeyShow.com. You can download our entire show every day. We do have that one accident still wrapping up in the South 5 near Baselone Road if you come in down to Camp Pendleton, so watch for that clearing. And Caltrans crews are keeping busy here. They've got that Pershing Road off-ramp from South 5 shut down for some guardrail repair. And they're also working the far right lane of South 125 between Troy Street and Hamishaw Boulevard. So stay to the left and use some caution there as well. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwater 5.3. Mikey Show. Hey, P.O. I'm Brad. What's up, Brad? I went to sleep frame, got myself one of the freaking nicest mattresses there. They gave me it for less than half a bite. What kind of mattress? I got the Sturgeon Foster Silver Dream. That's the one I have. That thing is supposed to be like $69.95 or something. I think I got it out the door $28.50. I got it for $3,200 and then somebody else at another store beat up my price. So they came back and beat it by 5%. Damn.
That's nice. And they gave me free mattress cover, free pillow covers. What size did you get? A twin? Or what did you get? I got the California King. Oh, you big pimp. Ashley's in. Oh, dude. It's pretty comfortable, huh? I'm still waiting to get it. I have a roommate that's moving out soon, and it's going to go in that room. Oh, it's the greatest bed ever. That's the mattress I sleep on. It was so freaking comfortable at the showroom. Yeah. Did you get in there and take a nap and take pictures? We love you, Brad. Thank you, Brad. We'll see you. Featuring Mikey. I have to check my email constantly. On my phone. Eddie. I am maybe the world's worst handyman. Sky. Even if an SUV is cheaper, I'm still going to go for a hybrid because my motivation is going. Boston Rob. I love the Republicans. I love the Democrats. You're obviously sexist and a horrible hate person. And Ashley. I mean, literally, like, my brain is blank. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Now, with what's up in your world, this is The Mikey Show 360. What are people talking about today? Well, they're talking about Obama. One of the things they're talking about was what he did yesterday. He had a busy day, Mike, okay? Yes, he did. You back off, my boy. Sky, tell me what your boy Obama did yesterday. Well, one.
Of the very many things he did yesterday. Oh, really? Was present an award to a great American. That's right. He presented in the East Room of the White House the Gershwin Prize to Stevie Wonder. Okay. That's awesome. The George Gershwin Prize. Wouldn't it be great to be president and just meet your heroes? Yeah, you know, just give them awards for no reason. Just give them an award. He didn't make up the award. Eddie, if you were in there, you could be like, you know what? I haven't met Eddie Vedder. I'd like to meet him. Let me give him the long hair award. The long hair award. And now to Randy Macho Man Savage. I give you the coolest wrestler award. That's right. The slap into a Slim Jim award. Congratulations. And it wasn't cool because Stevie's blind. It was like the award was made out of tinfoil. So messed up. I'm like, dude, Obama, you're so angry. That's true. He actually did that. He did not. That's weird. So Michelle Obama says that the first album she ever bought was Stevie Wonder's Talking Book. So that makes him all award worthy. So she got to meet him. And that they used his song You and I as their wedding song. How does that go? As their wedding.
Rob. You and I were meant to be. Oh, that's a good song. That's not the Stevie Wonder. And if you care, I'll be there with you up with me. This is it. Oh, here we go. Oh, this is the Stevie Wonder song. Give him the award. Oh, yeah. Didn't we have it all? The nights we spent together. That's really beautiful. That's really a gorgeous song. I love it. It was good. I love to hear that. It was good. Now, being unleashed on Decent Society. Robin Industry. Ask the people about February. Man. That's what you should have been asking. Favorite month. Yeah. I could have went off. All right, let's do a real quick one. With Boston Rob, he was out yesterday and had a chance to talk to some people. And here's what he asked. Oh, hey, I'm out here with Jarrell. Jarrell. Seriously. Isn't that Superman's dad? Yes. No. That's Jarrell. Jarrell. This issue at hand right now, the economy. What do you think we could do to cut the nation's deficit? Stop spending money on stupid things like the war. Like the war. So, personally, I think this war is all about oil. So, you know.
Maybe we should invest in some homeland fossil fuels like Meryl Streep, Stevie Nicks, stuff like that, right? Sounds good. Sounds good. Sounds like it works. And it's too bad Rosie O'Donnell was not worth her weight in gold because we would have been out of this deficit years ago. You got robbed. Booyah. That was nice. Good one. I like it. And I'm out. We learned a lot. Yeah, we did. Didn't we? I think we did. Scientists smart studied that stuff. Did you know that those slum dog millionaire kids were real kids from India, from the slums? Yeah, it's a documentary, dude. No, that slum dog, it's a motion picture. Wait a second. What was that? That's the award-winning song from the movie, bro. Didn't know that. Look it up, bro. YouTube it. So basically, there's kind of been this issue going on with these kids. And I'm talking about the little kids from the Slumdog Millionaire movie. I haven't seen it. Yeah, I haven't seen it either. But I guess there's little ones. Mike. I'm telling you, man. Picture of the year, bro. That's right. What? Eh? What's that? I saw it, dude. I thought it was okay. Awesome. Kid jumping in poo. Come on. Oh, yeah. That's the best part. Quit ruining it.
Well, it's not really the plot, bro, so I didn't give much away. I was really looking forward to that part. So, yeah, basically, first the big issue was that these kids, that they actually, like, live in a slum. And so, you know, this movie has made so much money. And so they were talking, you know, people were upset about how much money these kids got paid. And the director of the movie said that... Danny Boyle. Yes, Danny Boyle. Look at you. Danny Boyle. Claims that the kids were not exploited and that they were paid above local Indian wages. So like two cents an hour. Yeah, so that doesn't really... I got such a problem with that because everything has been... What does that mean? You have the weirdest problems is what it means. The things that you get mad at are weird. Because everyone is talking about, oh, this chick in the... Freda Pinto being, you know, whatever her name is. What is that? Freda Pinto? Ah, that's it. That's it. How great she was. And that other kid with the big ears and how great he was. The little kids made that movie. Those little kids should be filthy rich right now. A lot of that money should go to them. No. Well, none of it is. And so the Indian government, now that it's won Oscars. Did all their parents come here? And like when they were, you know, for the Oscars? Because it was all those little kids.
They flew out there. Is there a lot of them? I don't know if their parents came. I don't know if they were, you know, maybe brought with like a chaperone problem. I don't know. So strange. I've abandoned my child! Oh, no. Because I guess these kids were like still living in slums, like as of recently. Oh, my God. Hence the title. Yeah, get it? And so the Indian government. Along with my son, H.W. That's right. I've abandoned my boy! The Indian government says that. Take it easy, dude. They are providing new homes in Mumbai for the two lead children actors. That means they've got a happy ending, though. So two of them can get out of the slums. So two of them? For now. That's so weird. That's two more than we're out of any slums. I mean, they're doing something wonderful. I'm with Rob. I don't understand why all of them wouldn't be. taken care of. Yeah, like the director, the movie company, you think these people should be taking care of this. Well, that director, he looked so genuine and when everyone was winning from his movie, they kept showing shots of him doing two thumbs up and I'm so happy for you. But you guys, if they hadn't made this film, those two wouldn't even have a home. But how could you be so joyous that all these people are winning awards but the tiny, tiny little kids that made that movie?
that made everyone fall in love with that movie. Well, okay, Rob, listen, what would you suggest? Do you suggest that they hired a bunch of midgets to play them? What would you have wanted them to do? Or pay them in houses? I mean, yeah, pay them in houses. I mean, they got paid. I think they should give them a cut of the movie. Like, if that movie became... What, guys? When does this happen? Like, how do you ask for more, more, more? I'm just saying, these kids are coming from slums, and this dude is filthy, stinking rich. Okay, and the government gave them a house. Where are we, Matt? that well but the government had to step up and the government didn't give them the house they said they're providing housing so you know with this kind of attitude with this seriously with with the attitude that rob and sky have like this is not going to motivate anybody to want to do movies to let people know what's happening in these parts of the world. Because they're going to think, well, if I make a movie, then I'm a jerk if I don't buy this and if I don't buy that. Hold on. These kids were paid. And two of them were given home. That's nice. I might change my view once I find out what they were paid. But the way it's coming, I don't think he should be buying them homes.
like buying them food and stuff. I'm just saying they need to be compensated for how big this movie has got. They need a better agent then. If I think we're on the same page, what we're saying is, okay, you pay them above local wages to make this movie. Great. But then once this movie exploded, which no one expected to happen, and these kids are living in poverty. I think it would be nice for the movie company, for the director, for all the people raking in the big bucks to take a little chunk of that and go back. This movie isn't like a $100 million movie. It's one best picture, but it didn't explode at the box office. Well, it's been making a lot of money recently. You are. Wait a second. What? And even if it does, I mean, it's so disappointing to me. What? That when people are doing something nice here and the response to it is more, more, more. Why are you doing more, more, more? Who's doing something nice? They're helping them with this house. Two of them. They've helped with the house. It had to be brought up. It's not like they went out of their way to go. These kids are still in slums. Let's go help them out.
And it's the government stepping in. It's not the movie people. This movie has grossed over $98 million. These people didn't care. $98 million. This is what I don't understand. And that's where my problem is. I'm not going more, more, more. I'm saying this should not have even been an issue. This shouldn't be a story. If these kids are living in slums and they're in the number one movie, we got a problem here. Someone should have been like, hey, we can't have these little kids that are stars in this movie now that has made enough money to take care of these kids. Still living in the slums. They did some work and we need to get these kids paid. I think where I'm having the disconnect is that I think that let's say they did. Let's say the movie company said, you know, we've made some good money off this and let's go in there and just change all their lives. I would say, wow, how fantastic. That's really amazing. That's so cool. Who wouldn't think that that's great? I think that where I'm having the disconnect is that they are – they're not even under a moral obligation to do this. It would be nice, but they're not even under a moral – we're creating a moral obligation for them. And I'm saying to myself, what about all the other stuff? Why are we – like what about all the other – what about –
Poverty in our own country. And hold on. And this is exactly where it's different. Because these kids have to do with the movie. Exactly. I'm not saying go into India and fix it. I'm saying with these kids, that'd be great if we could solve poverty. The kids signed up to be actors on a movie. Okay. So they got paid to be actors in the movie. I think. Like, why do they have, why is there more? It's almost as if they're being taken advantage of. And that's what I think. I think something. These kids were, they signed up to be in a movie. They got to be in a major motion picture and they were paid. And even if it was, $3 was the going wage. Okay, so $3 is the going wage. And when you're done. Kids, you don't have to. No, no, no. Guys, go, go, go. You don't have to. You don't have to. I mean, it's cool that they did get stuff out of it. I wish I could be in a movie. Like they make a movie about Hurricane Katrina. Are we supposed to house everybody that got affected by Hurricane Katrina? There were certain people in the movie, and if that movie ended up making $100 million, I think it would be nice to give something back to those specific people who were in the movie. I do, too. But if it doesn't happen, you look at them and you say, what, pigs? I'm not saying what, pigs. I'm just saying, to me...
that's just something wrong because they looked like a family when they're all together, and it looks like they would care for each other. And if you're giving that off... You mean in the movie? No, I'm talking about at the... He's mad at Danny Boyle because he was genuinely happy for all these people winning awards. Well, it's just, it's like, if you're going to be like that... What is he supposed to do? He doesn't control the profits of the movie? Well, okay, so maybe it... Maybe I'm pointing my anger at the wrong person. Yeah. What else is new? But they weren't even going to. Hold on one second. They weren't even going to bring these kids out to the red carpet thing, which, I mean, I kind of get that. But they did. But they did. But, I mean, everything's had to have been raised an issue. It's almost like they wanted to use these kids, make this movie so authentic, so great. And when we're done with the kids, get rid of them. See you later. See you later. Here's your 250. Go. Go back to the streets. Here's the question, and here's where I think that the anger comes from, and I get it if this is the deal. I think that initially the anger comes from, are they being exploited to begin with? From the very start, making a motion picture about kids that are being taken advantage of. Are these kids that are in this motion picture, are they being taken advantage of and exploited from the very get-go? No.
No, they are not. You don't believe that they are? No, they are not. Okay. Well, then what we have is we have actors, these kids, okay, performing a job that they were paid for, albeit a very small amount since that's what the going wage is. Now, how do we sort of project? What we feel somebody's obligation is beyond that transaction. You act. You get paid. And guess what? The movie hasn't come out yet. Here's me, director and movie company. I sure hope this movie does well. And the reason I hope it does well is because the whole reason that we wanted to make this movie to begin with is because it's an important story. We think this is an important story. Nobody else is telling this story, by the way. And I'm pretty passionate about this, too. And the reason that I get passionate about it is because a lot of times I see people that are doing stuff nobody else seems to be doing be villainized for not doing enough. That guy, Danny Boyle, has directed one more movie than I have about kids being exploited in other countries. One more movie than I have.
Those kids. But it's not like he was making a documentary, bro. You can't say he had, his intention was to expose the issue. His intention was to make a movie and make money. Yeah. Sky. But he can make a movie. It's not a documentary. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You know what I mean? He had a choice of what he made the movie about. Yeah, and he thought this was a compelling story. Yeah. Not that he was going to change the world and shed light. I never said, I never said, I never said. You know? I don't want to make the guy into an altruist that's just like, oh, I'm going to change the world. I'm not trying to say that. But I do think that he thought that this was a good and important story. A good story. Well, wait a minute. Okay, okay. You know what? She's right. Sky's right. We're both taking a leap. I'm taking a leap and you're taking a leap. My leap is I'm thinking that he thought that this was a compelling and important story. And Sky is going, nope, I just think it's a compelling story and he wanted to make dough. And I'm like, I think people have a choice when they make movies. I think people have a choice when they tell stories. I think people have a, you know what I mean? I just think, and I wasn't trying to villainize him. And if I did, you know, I'm sorry about that because that wasn't my true intention. I just see it as these kids, I mean, they really can't speak up for themselves. They really can't, you know.
negotiate whatever. They're just happy to get whatever. But when this... I'm just looking at Danny Boyle because I know that name because of the Oscars and I associate him with the head of the movie and how everything's playing out. And I would just think him being a guy who's got some power with what's going on in this movie, he would be able to see that these kids are still in the slum, speak up for them, and take care of... How do we know he hasn't? And I'm being honest, I'm judging them. Whether that's right or wrong, that's what I'm doing. I'm judging them. Then can I ask you this? That's just me. I think it sucks. Anybody that's listening that thinks it sucks, Sky, Rob, and anybody that's listening that thinks it sucks, you're doing your parts here, right? You're doing your part. Nobody can look at you guys and say, well... Rob, Ashley, everybody listening that thinks that this is kind of bad, we can't look at you guys and say anything because you guys are out in the community helping out kids. I'm doing my part. Okay. I'm not asking you. I'm asking. Oh, and you know what? You may be one of the people that say that this sucks. So, Ash, you can be included in it. Okay, there's Ashley. We can now mark Ashley down as doing her part. We can check her off. So, if we are doing our part, then.
then we have the right to complain. If you're doing your part, you at least have a voice in saying, and you know what? No. Even if you are doing your part. You can have an opinion regardless. Wait a minute. Even if you are doing your part, I still don't think it's fair to assume that somebody else should be doing their part. I do some stuff, but I can't look at people and say, you're not doing your stuff? What a jerk. Okay, so what if we take the assumptions out of it and we just question? All of this and how it plays out and we peel back the layers and we find out the truth that I and I don't know what it is. And now I don't want to say because, man, I'm not trying to judge people. I just think it's jacked up that kids that are in such a big movie are living in slump. And I think we can have that feeling. And that's my feeling. And that doesn't mean we have to fly to India. Dude, dude, dude. Wait, wait, wait. I agree with that. That's what we're saying. These are our feelings and we're entitled to them. We don't have to fly to India to be able to have these feelings. You're taking an extra step. You're saying these kids were in a movie that made a whole ton of dough. And man, doesn't it suck that we've seen their faces now. They're kids. And we've seen their faces. It's touched our heart. And they're living in the slums. I'm down with that. But the extra step is turning the microscope on the people that made the film and saying, you devils. No. You guys. I can't believe that you're.
I'm not... You 100% did that, Rob. And I just apologized for it because... To Danny Boyle. Okay, wait, wait. Explain, explain. Let me apologize to everyone that I turned the microscope on. Honestly, I didn't know that you did. Tell me. No, I apologize. No, no, no. I don't want your apology. I just... I didn't hear the... Dude, you don't need to apologize. I just didn't... I didn't know what your mind change was. I didn't hear it. You know me, dude. I can't communicate well. I'm an idiot. I say it all day long. I'm an idiot. I'm an idiot. Save them all. Now you threw me off track. I'm trying to figure out what I was about to get into. You said that it isn't that you're looking at the filmmakers and saying, how dare you? One of you guys hit it. Slumdog. Kiarz. Kiarz. Kiarz. All right, welcome back. I just got an instant message from P1 Whooby. Oh, no. Yes. Yes. Get him. Get him. You're dead. Michael. Whooby says to Michael, first of all, the Indian government, not the filmmakers, are providing the homes to the two kids still living in the slums. Congratulations. True.
And I said to her, look here, whoobs. Oh, fight. And before I could even answer back, she said, second. Nice. The filmmakers movie studio should have a moral obligation to help these kids. What? And I said to her, look here, whoobs. I think it would be wonderful. Of course. If the filmmakers did something over and above. But they are not. Bad people if they didn't. Before I judge what others are not doing, I should ask myself what I am doing. Yeah, Wilby, why don't you buy my house? You know what? Maybe what we are doing is, you know, these people that pointed it out, that are calling it out, maybe that's what they are doing to help the cause.
Oh, so you're bringing it to life. This is how it went down with Blair Witch. Like, it became a media story because the Blair Witch kids were paid like $1,000 and the movie grossed like, I don't know, it's like $250 million. Did they agree that if the movie became a big giant hit? No, we're talking about adults in that case, by the way. They need a bigger or a better agent then. Get a back end of the movie deal. I think that they had an agent and I think it would... If you're making a little indie flick... You know, this movie, Slumdog Millionaire, this, by the way... The movie Slumdog Millionaire, it's been a hit for about five minutes. Honestly, it really has. So what's the point? The point is that before I start to knee-jerk go, you know what? Here's what you should be doing. Before you point a finger at yourself, guess what? You got three pointing back. Guess what? So I don't get it. You got to say guess what. Let's see. P1 Caesar is on the line. Hey, guys. How are you guys doing today? Good. All right. Now, what I just want to say is, all right, the movies portraying how horrible things are in India. And it just would have been nice, and it seems maybe Rob and Sky are kind of will agree with me, that it would have just been nice that they would have started a charity for not just the two kids in the movie, but for the kids they're portraying. Caesar, what do you do for a living? Uh-oh.
I'm unemployed now, man. You're unemployed? Yeah. What part of town you live in? What's up, bro? What part of town you live in? Slumdog. I'm sorry? National City. National City. Yeah. What'd you have for dinner last night? Chicken. Did you bake it? What are you doing? Just give me a second. It was my grandma's birthday, so we ate over there. Why, what's up, Mike? Was there any leftovers? I have no clue, bro. Why do you want me to give it to these kids? No, what I think would be nice is that if you had any leftovers, you might go look for a homeless person and give them some of those leftovers. That would be nice. That would be. And I'll tell you why. I'll tell you why. Hang on. Because you got it, Caesar. Now, see, I'm doing this to paint an example because the truth is I would not say that to you.
And the reason that I wouldn't say it to you is because I don't have a right to say it to you. What you do with your chicken is completely up to you. What if the homeless guy helped him cook the chicken? See, I think that's a better comparison. Let me answer. Hang on. I got an answer. I got an answer. If the homeless guy were paid to help make the chicken. Well, then we're pretty good. And then there's tons of leftover chicken. There's tons of it. I mean, you know, there's so much of it. Let's do this. And then he has to go back to being homeless. And then he has to go back to being hungry. Let's say it's like this. Let's say it's like this. How about this? How about he decides that he's going to open up a chicken restaurant? Okay. He's going to go into business. Right. And he's going to open a chicken restaurant. Okay. And his hope is that said chicken restaurant is very successful. So he hires people at the going wage. And the place blows up and it becomes fantastic. No, no, no. He hires people from another country at their going wage. Okay. Let's say he does that. That's true. Let's do it. Apples. People who get big, who first start off on TV and the show doesn't do so good, but all of a sudden it becomes like Friends. It becomes a big hit.
And then they go back asking for more money. Okay. Well, then let's say this. If they decide they're going to make Slumdog 2. If they decide they're going to make Slumdog 2. Let's use your point, Cesar. If they decide that they're going to make Slumdog 2. And I'm one of the parents of one of those kids. And I say, hey, wait a second. Slumdog 1 was really, really popular. Slumdog 2, you got to pay a little bit more if you want my kid this time. And if they say, sorry, we're not going to pay that. Well, then okay. We've got a deal, don't we? We had a deal the first time, too. The movie did phenomenally well. And don't misunderstand me. I think it would be wonderful to help them in any ways possible. But I cannot for a moment tell them. Wag your finger at the movie studio and go, you know what? You're a bunch of jerks. Buy these people houses. How dare you? That's crazy. I'm doing that right now. That's what I'm doing. You're jerks. You have enough money. Share a tiny, tiny percentage. It's not a tiny percent. Are you sharing your tiny, tiny percent? Are you out there sharing with kids? And are you out there, you know what I mean? I've given food to homeless people, dude, when I've had it left over. Yeah, I have too. I've given money. I volunteer with kids, with my mom. But I don't think that's the issue. These kids didn't make me the money. These kids that I'm volunteering my time with, they didn't make me the money. So that's the issue. They got paid for it. But they got paid in, like, if these were American kids.
they would have got paid more. How about this? Let me ask you a question. How about if the movie had taken a loss? How about if the movie had taken a loss? Then nothing would have changed for them. But under your system of fairness, if the movie does well, then hey. Let's be cool. Let's give these guys some money. If the movie studio people end up living in the same conditions as the slum dog people, then the slum dog kids maybe could pass them a sandwich. What is that? How does one equal the other? Maybe a curry. Oh, a curry something. And to not even consider a curry I think is wrong. Yeah. Wow. Come on, people. Everybody relax. You need to not relax. Skye, you win this one, and I'll get you next time. No, you won. Oh, I won. 5-7-0-1-0-5-3. How about a crown? We won. Yeah, we're the best, Rob. 5-7-0. And Facebook still sucks. How dare you. Facebook twins. Jai Ho. What up? Oh, do we have Jai Ho now? Jai Ho. Do we have it? Do we have it? No, we do not. One second. We're working on it. If the movie studio would just...
If they had any hearts in them, they would donate it to us. I mean, after all, the movie did very well. Thank you, Mike. Thank you, Mike. Oh, gosh. And, you know, since we are deciding what we feel they should do, you know, like, let's iron it out. I mean, let's not stop at a house and also a scooter. And what else? What else should we do? Unicorn. I mean, come on. I mean, as long as we are in the business of telling people how they should be generous. So what you're saying is that if we see some kind of injustice, we should be quiet. Injustice? No, it's not injustice. Unjustice? Read a book. Wait a minute. Unjustice League of America. If we're seeing injustice, then we need to say there's an injustice going on here. But these kids were paid. It's not like they used them for free. And even if they had, even if they had used them for free, which by the way, they, when they make a documentary, they probably do. And this is a movie. These kids were paid with the going rate is I don't feel, you know, I think it's kind of fun to make a movie. I think it's kind of fun. I mean, honestly, if they were coming through here and they said they were making a movie, I mean, what we're not talking about is it'd be one thing. If what we were talking about was, Hey, you know,
They just made these new track suits and used these kids to make them. And the track suits turned into a big phenomenon here. And they're not getting, you know, labor. We're talking about kids that were in movies. A major motion picture. If somebody came up to me and goes, dude, I want you to be in this movie, but I can only pay you $10. And I go. Oh, well, you know, I mean, that sucks, but I mean, it'd be cool to be in a movie. So, all right, yeah. Sure. It's my bad that I agreed to do it if the movie makes a $10 billion and I only got paid $10. But you're an adult. I was the dummy that said, all right, they have parents, dude. It wasn't like these kids walked up and go, yeah, I'll take this. They were paid above the normal what you get paid. But I think that, you know, and that's the thing. They were getting paid more than they get paid there. Our economy sucks. What? Oh, no. We have this song. You want to hear it? Yes, this will make it better. This will make it better. Where is it? Where is it? Get my dance and dance on. This is from Slumdog Niner? James Bond. Supposed to have a good soundtrack. This won the Oscar for this. Making money off the soundtrack, too. Oh, boy. Get ready for the mashup. Here we go. Eddie was getting down to this a little earlier. He's getting down to it right now. Yeah, check it out.
My ears have never heard this. You love it? Not yet, but I haven't gotten to the chorus. We're in the bridge. This is the chorus. This is the chorus? Well, then I don't like it. What? Oh! There's another song that the same composer did. Yeah, they both died out there. Yeah, the other one. This one's way better. I don't know. I like stuff when it's got, you know, like a melody. You know what? I can sing along to it. I can sing along to this party. 5701053. We got to get out of here. 5701053. Beginning and end of every show. We do open phones. You can call right now. Slumdog kids. We got to go. No. Save them. Someone save them. I love that idea. You can come live with me. Oh, that's the worst slum. No, that's worse. That's worse. I want to punish them. P1 Aaron. How are you guys doing? Good.
I think I have a way to make you guys feel better about this whole situation. Okay. I was doing a little research online, and actually, the movie studio set up a tuition fund, a health care fund. Oh, really? Oh, man. And I'm fine with it. That's awesome. That's nice. 30 minutes, I'll never get back. Thanks, guys. But I think we all still know where we stand. Mike thinks they shouldn't have done that. And don't speak up about it. He hates the Slumdog Kids. Way to go, Mike. How dare you. Please don't make people think that. Keep them in the slums. You guys are awful. Oh, man. That hurts. P1 Animator. Hey, how's it going? If there is one person that thinks that, I will die. I do. You do not. P1 Animator. Breaking balls. Go ahead. Because what Sky was saying is, the thing is they're saying that because these kids helped them make the money off the movie, that a percentage should be given back to the kids. Well, there's a lot of P1s that don't have a lot of money or don't have jobs. And since they're the ones that helped...
There you go, Skye. What portion of your salary are you going to give up for those P1s that are listening that helped make this thing a success? And you know what? We do cool stuff for P1s. We give away cool prizes. Hey, Clear Channel's the one making the big bucks. It's not me. Clear Channel is making 75 billion times more money than me. And you know what? And they put up prizes and cash. Any liberals that are listening, do. as I say. Not as I do. That's not enough about that. In this situation, we're talking about the movie studio. Not as I do. We're talking about the movie studio. Holy moly. And that's the top. That was a spicy meatball. So Clear Channel is the correct comparison. That guy right there is huge call of the day. No, it'd be Clear Channel. Oh, my gosh. Jai Ho. I'm using Skye's own argument. Yeah, exactly, Skye. And in your argument, it's Clear Channel that you're speaking to. You're not speaking to me. You're speaking to Clear Channel.
I'm not saying that the head actor in Slumdog should give money to these kids. I'm saying the movie company... Should you give a portion of your salary for the Blair Witch reference that you used? Because I know it didn't come from you. No, Clear Channel should. Alright, well then you should tell Clear Channel to give money. As long as it isn't her. And Clear Channel does. Clear Channel picks up prizes and stuff. I personally give stuff out. If you want to bum a smoke off me... You can have a smoke. If you want my shoes. That's all I got. What is it? P1 Animator. You, that was it, dude. That was a good call. Yeah, but it's still not apples to apples. Are you kidding? No, it's a different situation. Of course. Ham to ham. Of course. P1 Michelle. Hey, what's up? What's up? Hey, wait a minute. Hang on a second. What? Uh, Whoopi's on the line. Oh, no. I'm sorry. If Whoopi's on the line, we're talking to Whoop. Whoop? Michael. Sorry, Michelle. Get him, Whoop. How dare you? Get him, Whoop. How dare you? I love her. How dare you, sir? How dare you, ma'am? Please, guys.
Still in the virtual gutter. He doesn't. He does. Whoopi, he doesn't. He said if they do. No, you hold up a second, girl. Whoopi. I don't like that you just said that because that's an incorrect fact. Whoopi, you can't say that. It is so far from the truth. I meant that in all joking because you just said it about yourself. Thank goodness. Keep them in the spot. Stop. However, this movie was made. on the fabric of these kids' lives. This is what it's like in the Mumbai slums. Sure, yes. So that these two little kids, after making all their, you know, more, they were paid more for their Indian price, which is probably about $2.50 an hour. We don't know that. They're still in the slums. Their situation didn't change. Did you see the little video? He's wearing a nice new white shirt, and he's playing in dirt, Mike. He's playing in dirt. Whoopi, whoopi, you are not going to get an argument from me. That these kids are poor. But this is what I want to say to you and to Sky and to Rob and to anybody listening that sees injustice. Every single one of us, every one of us is under an obligation to help. Every one of us. And so when one of us isn't.
We cannot point a finger at others and say, how dare you? If we do, we need to point the same finger back at us. I bought a goat. I bought a goat. I bought a goat. Oh, yeah. You got to be careful while you point your fingers, you guys. What happens, Ashley? What happens? Whoopi, have you heard this? What happens? Guess what? If you point one finger at someone else, guess what? Guess what? No, guys. Whoopi, guess what? Someone else, you're pointing three back at yourself. Okay? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Well, toot toot, there's your horn. Congratulations, Whoopi. See, but see, that's what you're saying. You're saying I shouldn't have an opinion if I'm not doing something. No, no, no, no, no. What I'm saying is be careful who you judge. Yeah, yeah. Judge not, yes, ye be judged. Thank you. But at the same time. Put it on the board. What? Isn't that what you're doing when you sit there and say, oh.
Well, Obama obviously got time on his hands if he's given awards away to Stevie Wonder at the White House. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Listen, yes, yes. Listen, what have you done for the arts? Yeah, give me an award. We're on that show every day. This is not our show. Whoopi, I want to respond to that. This is my February song award. Whoopi, I want to respond to that. And when I respond, you already know this. When I do that stuff, I'm doing that for yuck yucks. Honestly. I'm doing that for laughs. You know, honestly. Hey, I don't think it has to be so black and white as, well, you're either judging them or you're not judging them. Why can't we just be... Judge not less. Why can't we just be raising questions where we're going, hey, are we sure that this is all legit? What is legit? Are we sure that what's legit? Are we sure they got paid? Are we sure those kids got paid? Is that what we're asking? Are we sure they got paid? You know for a fact they got paid. They just said in your little statement that they got paid. I read that, but... And Wubbie, thank you for your call. We gotta run. We love you. Virtual hug. We love you. Yes, we're giving you a virtual hug. Oh, man, we gotta go. Let's continue this.
Let's go to the office. Ashley, after show. Let's do this. No way. I get stuff to do. The lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. I'm feeding the ducks. Okay. Today, Missy's got the lost and found since she's going to be playing songs you haven't heard in a long time. So make sure you tune in any game and call in a request. See you back here tomorrow, which is Friday, and it'll be fun. And the Mikey Show's out late.
