The Mikey Show opened by unpacking the military investigation into the University City F-18 crash, with Mikey, Skye and callers arguing over whether the pilot or Miramar commanders bore more blame for bypassing North Island. Skye reported that Nadia Suleman wanted 12 nannies and had a history of police calls at her home, while the hosts debated American Idol's treatment of blind singer Scott McIntyre and whether Denver had mishandled Jay Cutler. ATF agent Jay Dobbins described infiltrating the Hells Angels, surviving an assassination test and later threats, and the show also covered a confirmed Cheaters Hotel affair, a father attacking a Chuck E. Cheese mascot, a delayed saline order before a Scripps patient's death, and a Florida McNuggets 911 call. The show closed with the absurd squirrel confrontation and Taylor Hicks explaining how a Katrina evacuation and free Southwest ticket led to his Las Vegas American Idol audition, while promoting his Grease and Belly Up appearances.
What happened, in order
The F-18 error chain
Military investigators blamed a chain of maintenance, command and pilot errors for the fatal University City F-18 crash, and the hosts argued over the pilot's choice to bypass North Island for Miramar.
Octomom needs 12 nannies
Nadia Suleman said she needed 10 more nannies for her 14 children, prompting disbelief before Skye recounted eight police calls to Suleman's home in just over a year.
Is Idol rewarding a story?
After criticizing San Diego contestant Ariana Afsar's song choice, Eddie argued that blind singer Scott McIntyre had advanced mainly because of his disability, while the crew framed American Idol as a popularity and rati
Jay Cutler feels betrayed
The crew and callers debated whether Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler had a right to resent the team's trade talks, with Eddie calling a proposed swap for one-year starter Matt Cassel a bad football and management decision
Inside the Hells Angels
ATF agent Jay Dobbins described spending 21 months inside the Hells Angels, escaping an assassination test, faking a Mongol murder to gain membership, and living with threats after his cover was exposed.
Cheaters Hotel becomes real
A scheduled Cheaters Hotel setup was abandoned when the woman involved called in distraught after independently confirming that her boyfriend was cheating.
Dad attacks Chuck E. Cheese
A Massachusetts father tore the head off a Chuck E. Cheese costume and confronted the 19-year-old performer after wrongly believing the mascot had pinned his son against a game.
Four-hour saline delay
Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista received a $25,000 maximum fine after a critically ill patient waited more than four hours for ordered saline, coded minutes after it arrived, and died.
The Padres five-dollar feast
The Padres unveiled a five-dollar ballpark bundle with a hot dog, soda, popcorn, peanuts and a cookie, winning over even hosts who doubted the team's prospects.
McNuggets become a 911 emergency
A Florida woman named Latricia repeatedly called 911 after McDonald's took payment for unavailable McNuggets and refused a refund, leading the hosts to condemn the policy while mocking the emergency call and debating nug
The squirrel calls in
A caller pretending to be the squirrel Eddie blamed for a bicycle crash turned his story about lying in a pool of blood into a manic argument over whether his sister's bicycle was a girl's bike.
Taylor Hicks' accidental audition
Taylor Hicks recalled escaping Hurricane Katrina with a free Southwest ticket, impulsively auditioning for American Idol in Las Vegas four hours after his brother suggested it, and eventually winning the season.

Text Mikey at gmail.com, which, as you can hear there, also works as an email address. Text Mikey at gmail.com. And immediately, I am looking at... Now, this has not happened up until this day, except for one time, I think, where we come on the air and pow, pow, pow. The texts are already lined up. Before we even get the show started, people are texting us immediately. Good job. That's right. Sky, I don't think you're going to be surprised, but people are loving your trip to the Wrangler Barbecue. We're still talking about that. It's worth talking about. It is not. It is. People eat lunch all the time.
Can I please have the ham special with onion rings? Wow. Unbelievable. And by the way, tomorrow on the show, we will be doing the ham through. And we'll explain. We'll explain. Everyone just lets everybody just take it easy. We'll explain later. We got so much going on. So much big stuff on the show. So much big stuff on the show. Not to mention. A couple of about a week or two from now, we're going to be announcing this gigantoid thing where you're going to be getting money from the Mikey show. So, dude, we got so much stuff in the works. Big plans. A little bit later on, I'm going to be telling you about the Mikey show presents Fast and Furious, Loud and Proud. Killer new movie coming out. And we're going to be sending people to the premiere in L.A. The stars? Yeah. That's cute. Somebody's going to win that. So we'll talk about that in just a little bit. 570-1053. Line up on the phone lines. Get in here. What do you want to talk about? And text Mikey at gmail.com. Love to talk to you. So a couple big things. The big story this morning in San Diego is the jet crash that happened a month ago, Sky? Two months ago? I think it was December. December 8th, I believe.
Yeah, December 8th. It was the crash that happened in UTC. And the guy was trying to make it to, you know, it was a fighter pilot. And he was trying to get this fighter jet to Miramar. Didn't make it. Crashed. Family in the house. Killed people. Terrible accident. And, Skye, more details are coming out now, right? Well, yeah. Basically, you know, the military did an investigation into this crash. yesterday publicly released the results of their investigation and they also released uh the audio of the pilot no way yeah which you know people are saying is very weird for the military to so publicly release all of this information um but you know basically in synopsis the military basically announced yesterday this was our fault we dropped the ball on multiple levels in regards to this um you know
The two biggest things I took from it was, one, because basically one of the engines went out, and then the second engine went out, and that's, you know, what ultimately caused the plane to crash. And they admitted that there had been mechanical problems with that engine before, which were documented. But that plane was still allowed to fly because flights after that, it was fine. So, ah, we're good. No big deal. But the second really big thing was that this pilot... was told to land the plane in Coronado at the North Island, the Naval Station in North Island in Coronado. And he said, no, I think I can make it to Miramar. Oh, man. No way. But, of course, Coronado, you know, North Island, surrounded by water. So if the plane would have gone down, you know, first of all, he was closer to that location at the time. And secondly, if he would have gone down, it would have been in the water. Wow. Now, I have a cut of audio. Is it cockpit audio, Sky? Yeah, I believe this is the actual audio of the pilot saying that, no, he wanted to go to Miramar. Got it. 13,000 feet, emergency aircraft, about 20 miles south of North Island. Yes, sir, one sole on board. I've got a single engine dirty.
Possibly a problem with the other engine. And time, fuel remaining about 20 to 30 minutes. Roger, sir. A, this is Mike. Wind 100 at 8. Scattered 2500. Altimeter 3003. Do you want the visual straight into runway 36 or something different? I'm actually going to try and take it to Miramar if possible. 225, okay. Just let me know what you want to do. And how about a heading of 010 for either airport right now? All right, thank you. And I'm coordinating with some people on the ground to try and figure out what we're doing. Okay. is if uh see i in my mind i want to give dude benefit of the doubt he thought he could make it to miramar unless unless like it's a rule if this happens you go here and he's breaking the rule and saying no i don't i think i can do this even though the rule says you do this right like i want you know that's what i'm trying to like figure out here
I don't know the exact answer to that, but it sounds like to me as far as the military go, this is the common sense rule. Like you go where to the least populated and to the closest when you have this sort of problem. And he was closer to Miramar. I mean closer to Coronado. Yeah. And like when it's, you know, of course we don't know all the jargon, but when you hear the guy say, okay, we're clearing runway, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. They're talking about the Coronado runway that they're clearing. And then he goes, oh no, I'm going to try and make it to Miramar. And he goes, okay, it's, you know, a clear call. Why would he do that? Yeah. I mean, dude, if you're close, I don't care where they say is closest. Why would you just not go closest? Yeah, why wouldn't you follow their suggestion? And another thing he was criticized is they say the pilot didn't consult his pocket checklist of emergency procedures once the emergency began. And I guess, you know, that's protocol for them to do when the emergency begins to go through this checklist of... By the way, I said UTC, University City. That's where the crash was. And, you know, he's trying to make it to Miramar. And, yeah, man, I mean, if Coronado's closer, why don't you do it? I really do. I mean, what I think would be interesting is to hear what the pilot actually says, what he actually does have to say. Like, why did you? There had to be a reason. There had to be a reason. Because even if he says, well, I thought I could make it to Miramar, okay, totally understandable. The question, though, is...
Why didn't you go to the closer one? That's the question. I would guess that that's probably, I mean, I think that's where he took off from. No, I think, didn't he take off? I don't know. I don't remember. I thought it was off of a boat he took off. Yeah, I think you're right. I remember seeing that. That he took off from a carrier? Mm-hmm. Yeah. So, and also, another area. See, I want to know where, this is the other thing that's really super important. Oh, before you get to that, it's 6.15. Oh, 6.15. Are you telling me? No, now. Hurry. I know you're right in the middle of a thump. Hurry. I have to play that commercial that we have to play at 6.15. Quick. I don't want to spank him. I have to play a commercial at exactly 6.15. You have 20 seconds. Hurry. I have 20 seconds? 20 seconds. But I can do it within the 20 seconds, right? Mike. All right, I'm going to play it. I'm going to play it. I'm going to land at Coronado. The time is now 15 minutes after the hour. It is. That's 15 minutes you could have used to possibly save a lot of money on car insurance by switching to GEICO. But don't worry, you'll get more chances because this message will repeat every day at the same time. Oh, thank goodness. So you don't tire of hearing my voice, I will now sing a song. Oh, Denny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling.
For a free rate quote, visit geico.com or call 1-800-947-AUTO. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance. Geico is not just some insurance company. They are the insurance company that covers all your car insurance needs. And Geico is not a new upstart company either. They've been around for over 70 years. Geico also isn't relying on just its heritage. Standard & Poor's has consistently awarded Geico a AAA rating for financial strength. And Geico is not bragging. Yeah, all right. Maybe a little. 15 minutes could save you hundreds on car insurance. I don't know that that was very... As you were saying? Yeah. And continue on. Oh, yeah. I was... I forgot what I was saying. But it was a really important point. I can't remember what I was saying. No, it was... Yeah, it was pretty important. Well, another thing that they're saying... Oh, I just remembered. Oh, go ahead. Well, what I was saying was that... What would be really important to know is what was his exact location at the time there was trouble? What was his location at the time? Let's say he took off from a carrier and the trouble occurred over Qualcomm Stadium, just to give you a point of reference. Dude has to make a decision. And they say, listen, we're clearing a runway for you, Coronado. Rob has it.
On the Union Tribune, they have a timeline and a map of everything. Slow wheat. And it actually, I just read, it did take off out of the water. Uh-huh. And it looks like his route kind of passed by the Coronado North Island Naval Air Station. And then it shows. When's he first reporting problems? Where's that location? Um. What do those little things say? Let's see. Let's take a look. See, lady. Um. Okay, so we started out in the Pacific. Right. And it says at three, it goes, you know, one is takeoff, two is engine shutdown. So the first engine shutdown. Okay, yeah, so two is engine shutdown, and the engine shutdown, two is, like, lower than Ensenada in Baja. You see what I'm saying? Out in the water. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Way out in the water.
Okay, so number one, takeoff. Yeah. He takes off in his F-18 from the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln. About 10 minutes later, warning sensors activate. Marine commanders divert the jet to San Diego. Number two, still way out in the Pacific Ocean, not even at the border. In fact, if he were to fly to land, it would be in Mexico. Yeah, it's over 100 miles, it looks like, because they give a little... Engine shutdown. The pilot shuts down the plane's right engine because of a fuel transfer glitch. Number three, still out in the Pacific. Still closest to Mexico, not near the United States. Check in with Squadron. He observes a low fuel warning and checks in with the officials at Miramar Air Station who tell him to head toward that base. Okay, so at that point, he isn't even close to, you know, he's not parallel to the United States yet. He's still flying out over the Pacific, and he's parallel to Mexico, and the orders are to head to Miramar. The timeline says,
that the fourth thing that happens is a North Island bypass. So he's flying by North Island, right? A civilian air traffic controller makes the second of two offers to guide the jet to North Island Naval Air Station, which would keep the plane over water until landing. So he hasn't even gone over land in San Diego yet when they're offering him to land in Coronado. No, he's still... Wow. Out over the ocean. But he's not being made this offer by the military. Right. The military has told him go to Miramar. Yeah. And what's interesting about what I read is they said that one of the other things they admitted to wrongdoing is incorrect assumptions and incorrect data when the military was making suggestions to him. Yeah. And they're saying are bad on that. See, are you guys following this? Yeah. It sounds like maybe the pilot was following orders and the mistakes were made by those dudes at Miramar saying, come here, come here. Yeah. Yeah. The fifth thing that happens actually happens right over North Island Naval Air Station. Okay. Descent.
About 12 miles from Miramar and flying at 13,000 feet above San Diego Bay, the pilot descends over San Diego's beach communities. The sixth thing that happens happens around the Mission Bay area. Fuel flow impeded. He attempts to restart the right engine and limit the flow of fuel to the left engine. Then what he does is he flies towards La Jolla. Goes out into the ocean and does a big loop. And now he's headed east towards Miramar. And they say that was another bad that was made because he decided to go out over La Jolla to get a better approach into Miramar instead of just going straight into Miramar and landing. He wanted to get a better straight on approach instead of coming in at an angle. So that also wasted time and fuel. Now that would have been a pilot error at that point, right?
He would have been making that decision instead. You know what I mean? Yeah. You know, a lot of what they talk about what I read is the pilot didn't really understand the gravity of what was happening to his plane and the emergency that he was really in until it was too late. So at that point, he was probably like, OK, I still got time to get this really dead on approach. Whereas if he would have understood that, man, this is critical right now, he just would have gone for, you know, a landing at an angle. Sounds like the first mistake was the one made by the guys at Miramar saying come here, and if they hadn't made that particular error and had diverted him to North Island, we're all good. Then none of this would happen. None of this happens, and then he makes a mistake. Just lots of errors after errors. So, yeah, four officers have been relieved of their duty in all of this. Nine other Marines have received disciplinary action. Oops. And the pilot himself has been grounded pending further review. Wow. Yeah. Crazy. Well, the whole thing's sad. Oh.
It's sad that the folks were killed. It's sad that these guys' lives are being affected. It's sad that the whole thing is sad. Yeah. I mean, you know, the only thing you can say is hopefully they've learned so something like this doesn't happen again. Yeah. It's brutal. Yep. Let's see. Okay. Tell me where you are with this one. I'm pretty sure we all know the name Nadia Solomon now, right? Yeah. We're all pretty familiar with the name Nadia Solomon. I tried to use it once a day. I'm not sure. What are you thinking of there? All right, here it is. Okay, so she was just kind of describing her situation and kind of what she's going to be looking for now in terms of helping care for these 14 kids, right? Octomom. Just had eight. And tell us what you need. Here, Nadia. She knows she will need help, and lots of it. Right now, she's looking for nannies. I still have to get 10 more, actually. 10 more. I have two. The reason it seems so many is because it would be different shifts. I'm looking for, like, three, 12 hours. And then the next set, 12. She has two. Why are you kidding me? Which, by the way, how do you afford two nannies? Mike! She wants 12? How? She wants 12 altogether, yeah. 12 nannies? Yeah. What the?
Got two needs ten. Got two needs ten. Because I can't wait 24 hours. And I'm talking about 14 children. And as a single mom to those 14, she worries what will happen to them if something happens to her. I do have really close friends, and I definitely would probably have to have something written and drawn up. I definitely would probably have to have something written and drawn up. I would change that to definitely should have something written and drawn up. You know, for that, if anything were to happen to you, Nadia. I'm still reeling from the 12 nannies. 12 nannies. 12 nannies. I know it. Just get one British one. Yeah, they do the best job. But I have really close friends who would more than knowing to help. And I wouldn't want them all split up. Rob, wouldn't that be a super nanny? That's right. Yes. Sounds like she has a nanny 911. Yes, she does. 5701053. Text Mikey at gmail.com. Phone lines blowing up. People want to talk about all this. Octomom and the 12 nannies. Oh, and then there's also a story with the Octomom about how many times the cops have been called out there, right? What? Yep.
What's up with that? Yeah, the cops have been called to Octomom's house eight times since 2008. What? So in the last year and two months, the cops have been called. Real quick, January 2008, one of her kids was locked in a room. Police were called out to Jimmy the Locker. May of 2008, neighbors called the police after the front door was left open to the home and they were concerned. July of 2008, police were called out after the Department of Children and Family Services was called into an investigation into the well-being of the six children. They say those allegations were unfounded, according to their reports. August 2008, neighbors called police again after a front door was left open and neighbors feared to break him. Shut your door. October 2008, Octomom called the police because one of her kids was missing. What?
I guess one of the kids I've had it I guess one of the kids had followed grandma around the block when grandma had gone for a walk and the kid followed. Well, the doors opened. Well, yeah. Yeah. January 2009, one of Octomom's six original kids called police for unknown reasons. I don't know if it was just like a 911 and then hung up. How old are those kids? Do we know? Are they older kids or are they still super little? I want to say the eldest is what? Six or seven? Six or seven. Someone called the police? Someone from the home called 911 and hung up. February of 2009, police responded to reports of a man with a gun at Octomom's home. Neighbors said that the man was bringing the unloaded weapon into the home from his car. Finally, the most recent one was police were called to control reporters.
In the area because the reporters were so out of control. Makes me sick in front of the home. Yeah, that stuff's not good. Eight times in the last year and two months. Text Mikey at gmail.com. 570-1053. What do you think? And her eldest is seven. Seven? Yeah. First P1 Chris. Chris, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. So you are in the military. Absolutely. And you're going to give us some insight on why the pilot did what he did. Well, I was on a carrier and I used to control aircraft many years ago. And kind of, I think there's some things maybe, and I don't want to talk bad about the Navy, but there might be some things they're not saying. He might have been told what to do in that situation. He might have been told, okay, try to go to Miramar. Don't go to North Island. But as you were talking about his route as he was coming in, I mean, imagine if he would have ditched going somewhere south, like 20 miles south of North Island and dipped somewhere along there. Where would he have landed then? Downtown somewhere, right? No. What? No, no, no, bro. Not according to the map. He just went once. Yeah, I mean, the entire time they show, if you look at the front page of the Union Tribune today. I didn't see it this morning. Yeah, they show a map of his flight.
Yeah. And so... He's over the water up until about Mission Beach area. Until North Island. Yeah, he briefly goes over that, and then he's over water again. Over water again. He's over water by Mission Bay. See, Rob, it's an island. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he just kind of passed it real quick. How does that work, though, bro? Hey, thanks for the call, though, bro. We appreciate it. P1 Scooby is on the line. Hey, guys, what's going on? What's up, Scoob? I'd like to comment on a couple of things. What's up? This F-18 story. for one, and then, you know, my original comment. Okay. It's crazy because, you know, reading on CNN.com, you know, this guy wasn't even an experienced pilot. He was, you know, still being trained on the F-18. Oh, is that the truth? Yeah. Really? He's being trained? Yeah. Yeah, and, you know, I'm sure, you know, a more experienced pilot would have been allowed to land at North Island. North Island, thank you. Another thing, These guys go through a lot of, you know, because I used to be in the Navy and I used to be on the Nimitz. These guys go through a lot of pre-flight stuff, you know, in their ready rooms. You know, they go through all kinds of debriefing, you know, briefings like, you know, bad weather. If this happens, if that happens, do this, do that, that kind of deal. Exactly. So, you know, he had to have been briefed, you know, so.
The fact of him going to Miramar had to have been told to him. And another thing was... Yeah, it was. I mean, we're reading in the paper today that when he said that there was trouble, the military told him, fly to Miramar. Now, it sounds to me like maybe what they should have said is, how much experience do you have? Are you able to do this? Can you pull this off? Yeah. Shouldn't they have just known that anyways? Yeah, I mean, I don't know. It's one of their boys, you know. It's one of their boys. They know all about what he's doing up there flying. Maybe. Maybe. That's the thing is that when they take off, you know, the people controlling them, they don't know whether they're John Smith or, you know, from who, you know what I'm saying? Or Iceman. The only people that know that are the people that let them get into the plane. That's right. Wow. And what else were you calling about, Scoob? That Mikey Science Theater 3000 was funny. We got some figures on that. Yeah. There is a brand new Mikey Science Theater 3000 up. You're welcome. At MikeyShow.com. I love it. I love it. Thousands and thousands of people are viewing it. And it's kind of becoming a gigantic thing. I was eating a powdered donut and watching it this morning.
And when Eddie referred to that house that those people walked into as Skye's house, I almost coughed. All right. That's cool, Scoob. Referred to it. She lent it to him. Are you kidding? Oh, dude, it's hysterical. These people are going into, like, a gigantic library. It's got big, beautiful pillars. And Eddie goes, oh, look, it's Skye's house. Like, so, you know, unexpected. I just coughed up the powder. A big poof of powder. Hey, thanks, Scoob. We appreciate it. Yeah. Yeah, go to MikeyShow.com. And if you don't know what Mikey Science Theater 3000 is, is we watch these old films from the 1940s that are like instructional on how to date, how to be popular.

The prize will be, how cool your car is, the prize will be being able to go to the Gibson Theater in L.A. to see the premiere of the movie. And then afterwards, go to the after party where the cast is going to be there. Shut up. That's so cool. Not only that, round trip transportation from Avalon Transportation and Levery Services. which is really cool, man. So we'll be telling you all about that and how it's going to work and how you can win that coming up here. Killer show today. Killer show. Too much show. Dude, we got this dude. We got this dude on the air today in the 7 o'clock hour that infiltrated the Hells Angels. Oh, my gosh. Man, I want to listen today. I really want to listen today. And if that weren't enough, Cheaters Hotel. Oh, my gosh.
Too much. Oh, way too much. Every Wednesday we do Cheaters Hotel, and so that'll be on today. Taylor Hicks is going to be on. Soul Patrol! Soul Patrol! He won American Idol? Yeah! He won American Idol. I love him. Season 19, I believe, is the season that he was on, and he won. Or season 5. That's right. One way or the other, we'll have him on. And so that's going to be really cool. Be listening for that. And this, you remember Taylor. Yeah, he was very soulful. He was very soulful. I was a huge fan of Taylor Hicks when he did this. And when he did this performance, it pumped me up so much that I saved it on my TiVo. And whenever I was having a bad day or was feeling crummy, I would put that on and dance to it to cheer me up. Really? Not kidding. True story. I did not. Saved it for months, Mike. I didn't either. Oh, I loved it. To each. Their own. Absolutely. Why do you suppose the San Diego School Board is encouraging experienced teachers to retire? What? Why do you suppose that's happening? What? Because when we come back, I'm going to tell you why it's happening. Our phone number, 570-1053. And if you want to send us a text message, textmikey at gmail.com. And you can use that as an email, too. And when we come back, I'll tell you why they want these teachers. This is weird, man. It's so bizarre.
Oh, and really? Really? More going on with Jay Cutler and the Broncos? Really? More going on with Jay Cutler and the Broncos in our division? We'll talk about that, too. I got a king-size bed. I don't know any kings, but if one came over, I guess he would be comfortable. Oh, you're a king, you say. We don't believe what I have in store for you. It is to your exact specifications. I did not know you guys were all the same size. I think I can set your lady up, too. When I was a boy, I laid in my twin-size bed and wondered where my brother was. I sound like... And these were sincere dudes, man. Dudes that are just like me and you. And they were sincere dudes. And they know what they're doing at Amco. Take your car down to Amco. Take it in there for the lunch hour. Drop them off during your lunch hour. And

One of the only times I was ever in shape in my life was when I was a freshman in high school, you know? Eddie. I love it. Sky. I'm a control freak. Boston Rob. What would you do for your Red Sox? I would do anything. And Ashley. I didn't even go to San Diego State. I did. I practically graduated. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Now, stuff you need to know. This is The Mikey Show 360. Yeah, what are people talking about? Idea of the 360, which, by the way, we change that music. People were not digging that techno sound before. You know, it was like the Mikey Show, 360. Whatever reason, people weren't digging it. That is weird. Maybe we should just do the music. You guys are so good at it. We could give it a shot. Oh, man. All right, Sky. Why are San Diego...
School teachers with a lot of experience being asked to retire. Yeah, well, you know, this I'm sure people don't like to hear because, of course, you want the most experienced teachers teaching your kids. Of course. You know, you don't want the newbies right off the street, but whatever. Well, this all has to do with the budget and the budget deficit. And, you know, the San Diego School District is facing a $77 million deficit for next year's budget. Now, they've already committed to saving about $45 million through. hiring freezes and spending freezes and stuff like that, but they still need to make up that difference. Oh, shoot. Yeah, so they're offering the district's most experienced teachers early retirement plans with retirement incentives and stuff like that. Weird, weird, weird. And they say if these teachers, you know, take them up on it, they say they need about 633 teachers in the district to volunteer for early retirement. And if they do, that will save the district more than $7.6 million over the next couple years. I guess the question becomes, does experience necessarily equal good?
Sure. I remember a lot of old teachers when I was growing up, and they were terrible. You make a good point, actually. You know what I mean? Because I had a teacher in high school who was like 25 years teaching. And forget it, right? He couldn't have cared less about... He would have us teach the class sometimes because he wasn't in the mood. I did, too. Seriously, I had a couple teachers like that. I tried to get him fired, actually. That's a different story. Did he get the job done? I... Got him fired. You did? Yeah, I did. I went to the principal and everything. It was a process. That's weird. We got into it. Some of the younger teachers could be bad, too. Oh, yeah. Yeah, like the time my sixth grade teacher referred to illegal aliens as wetbacks. Oh, my gosh. Wait a minute. Remember that time, Mike? Oh, my gosh. Yeah, that was a little much, right? That was a little strange. That is not cool. That was weird. Okay, and then what else did I want to tell you about? Okay, we got that. And then, oh, I do know what I want to tell you about. What? American Idol, right? Mm-hmm. I don't know if you're watching. There's a chick on there from San Diego, though. Her name is Ariana Afsar. Am I saying that right now? I think so. I don't know. Sounds good, Mike. What part of San Diego?
Do we know? I don't know. It's Ariana Afzar, and she sang, and Eddie says he was not impressed. Well, it's that whole thing of song choice. 100%. She's a good singer, but boy, did she pick the wrong song. Dude, it's like everyone last night just picked wrong songs. Kind of, yeah. They need to be told what to sing. Well, I don't understand some of the people that, like... Out of all the songs you choose, really that's the one you're going to go with? Well, Eddie said that. And then in Boston Rob's yesterday email, he says he observed the worst American Idol episode he's ever seen. Which is a very bold statement. I don't necessarily agree with that. Why did you think that, Rob? I felt every song choice was wrong. And you know what? You might disagree with me. What's up? You don't like Little Rounds? Lil Rose. That was the one. Let's hear the San Diego chick sing. Let's hear the San Diego chick sing. I think it was like being at a funeral. Simon doesn't really hold back, does he? He doesn't really hold back. Ariana, there was a certain irony to that lyric, wasn't there?
The winner takes it all after that performance because it was absolutely terrible in most parts. What are they booing about? Is that her family? Is that the deal? Like it's her family? If you say anything bad about the contestants, the audience boos. Right. You know what? I would like to be the contrarian in the audience that goes, I want to be standing there when he says that and go, I totally agree, Simon. Oh, I would love that. Agree! Agree! I would love that. No one does, but it would be great if one person would. Have a sign that says, this isn't karaoke night. Yeah, you know what I mean? Huge, huge mistake. That song was way, way, way too big for you. It was an incredibly... Can anything worse be said to a contestant? Right. You're on a program where you are trying to become the biggest star in the world. That's the idea behind this program is for you to become an American Idol. In fact, we have one coming in here later today. Taylor Hicks will be in the studio later today. We'll ask him, what's it like to be the American Idol? But here's this person trying to do that. And he basically says, that song was way above you. So she's got to ask herself.
Does a song being way above me equal me being the best in the world? Dreary arrangement. It was like being at a funeral the first half. It really was awful. And, you know, I liked you when I first saw you. But once again, you know, it's like everyone's gone into a time machine. You know, tonight. Well, I was really hoping, though, that, like, although it's an old song, I tried to make it contemporary, and that's... Well, you didn't. Okay. I don't like when contestants argue back. Yeah. Personally. Yeah. Where do you guys stand on that? I hate it. I can't stand it. Just take your medicine. Yeah. You sucked. Yes. You know, it happens. Eddie said something so interesting off the air, and I go, dude, please, let's talk about that on the air, because when Eddie said it, it was like a... Bomb went off in the room, and everybody was like, oh, my. And I go, we got to talk about this on the air. There is someone on the show named Scott McIntyre. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay. Scotty. And Scott McIntyre is blind. Yeah. And the best. And Eddie says, just very, you know, kind of offhandedly, he goes, any of you guys like that dude just because he's blind? Oh, man. Take a listen to his singing.
Like the times that we spent. In a way, I'm blind. I've never seen him. And I can tell you from the first few notes, that's a big whoop. Eddie, how many people are left? Well, they're whittling it down to the top 12. So this is the last group. Oh, actually, the second to last group that is being chosen by the fans. So he's made it to the top 36. Right. I don't know about that. Well, the only reason why, I'm sorry, Rob. The only reason why he's there is because he's blind. What? Listen to that clip again. Dude, here's my clip. How does he make it to the top 36? This person doesn't even make it to Hollywood. This person's deaf. Why didn't she get... Now, I think what you mean, Eddie, is D-E-F, which I agree, dude. She is deaf. Thank you, Mike. I know that you've got to jump straight, but your husband's half almost complicated. Oh, this show's a sham. All right. Hiding out from the rain.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome. Welcome to the Carnival Elation. Thank you. Welcome to the Carnival Elation and make sure that you let your stewards know if there's anything they can do for you. Here it comes. Yeah, what? Yeah. Eddie. Okay. Eddie's being all mechanical in his movements. Listen, the guys, it's amazing. I mean, it's cool when you have a handicap and you're able to overcome it and do some certain things. I totally recognize that. But this is a singing competition. This isn't a, you know, let's applaud people because they're different or whatever. See, I mean, that's the thing, man. We found out from American Idol. I would love for it to be a singing competition, but what we keep being taught is that it's a popularity contest. It's a popularity contest. And you can tell the judges who they want to go through. They'll basically tell you, you vote for this guy. And that's kind of what they're doing with this guy. They recognize that he's a story. In a way, I guess it makes sense.
In a way, I guess it makes sense in that if they're saying to themselves, bottom line is we want to sell records, people are going to spend their money on somebody that they're all behind, you know, that they're digging, that they love, that they feel for. I think it's they want. TV ratings, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so having a blind guy on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, for sure. Makes the ratings go up. But don't they own the production company 19, which then goes on to own the rights of these people and then sells their record? For sure. Because it's a big picture we're looking at. For sure. Now, some of them, by the way, some of them have gone on to Zilcho. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Right? I mean, some of them have become major superstars, like. Bucky Covington. That's right. Bucky Covington has gone on to amazing superstardom. I think he means Carrie Underwood. What? And Kelly Clarkson. Mandisa. Yeah. That's right. Vin Diesel. That's right. Vin Diesel went on to big and better things. Chiquisi. That's right. Chiquisi. Really? Right? Yeah. Wow. Eddie Sinbad. Right? Sinbad went on to from American Idol. Right. Right.
Oprah. Dude, Oprah won American Idol and went on to become a sensation. Oh, seven. Morgan Freeman. Just some of the names. Danny Bonaduce. That's right. My Cousin Vinny. That's right. The movie. So, Jay Cutler doesn't really like the Broncos right now. He's a little upset. Yeah, they're in a little tiff. And I don't know what he's so mad about just because they want to trade him. I mean, I don't know what he's so mad about. But here is my question to you that I want you to call about right now at 570-1053. And I'd love to hear from you at textmikey at gmail.com. And that is, does he have a right to be angry about this? Would you trade Jay Cutler? Take some things into consideration with this. Eddie, what's the argument for and against? The argument for trading Jay Cutler probably was that whatever offensive system that the new head coach Josh McDaniels is bringing in, he doesn't feel that Jay Cutler will be good in. The argument against it is that Jay Cutler is an established superstar quarterback who went to the Pro Bowl last year.
570-1053, text Mikey at gmail.com. And oh, what about this one? Wait till I tell you how much KFED's going to be making for going with Britney on tour because he's taking care of the kids. You know what I'm saying? Dude's taking care of the kids. And so obviously he, daddy's got to get paid. And so when we come back, I'll tell you how much touring with her to take care of the kids is worth. Try to get an idea in your head, and I'll tell you what the amount is. I just want to tell you that AIS saved me a buttload of money, man. How much did they save you? $300. $300 a month? Yeah. Holy cow. I was paying like $462, and I went down to $146 for two cars, full coverage. I went up in coverage, and it's just... That's awesome. I was amazed. Yeah, I called in last November for a quote, and they had quoted me like about $100 cheaper than Geico. Uh-huh. And I went in, yes, and they said, you know what, let us check, see if we can get anything lower. and they did. It was a lot cheaper than up in coverage, man. I was just so stoked. This is a real person calling us on the radio to tell us about what AIS has done for them. I think that's awesome, dude. Thanks, man. Just want to thank you so much, man, and you're awesome. AIS. By the way, I want to give you the AIS website. It's AISinsurance.com. Mikey Show. With a Mikey moment. There he was, right to the 7-Eleven. Eyes of madness. We'll now go to his side of the story. So I was going at a pretty good rate of speed. And to the left of me was houses. To the right of me was a street. I had no place to go. I figured at some point we'd see, you know, this large object heading towards him and move. But that squirrel feels like a game of hell's chicken. Oh, my God. Mikey's show continues. Rock 105.3. Dude, the lead singer of this band, I think his name is Sassy McFruity. Oh, yeah, he's my favorite. I'm not 100% positive, but...
This dude's got a good voice. He's got a voice that is made to sing rock and roll. I'd like to put it over my waffles. Yeah, dude. So syrupy and good. I would like it poured over vanilla ice cream. Ooh, now you're talking. Oh, yeah. All right, so Sky, how much does K-Fed need to take care of his kids? Well, so... We learned a while back when all this custody stuff went on that KFED was awarded $20,000 per month in, you know, child custody or whatever it's called, child support payments from Britney. $20,000 a month. Wow, man. Right. From Britney Spears. To be Mr. Britney Spears. To be Daddy Britney Spears. Yeah. That's $240 a year. Is it real? Oh, wow. Oh, wait. No, dude. It's got to be more than that, right?
How much, Skye? Yeah. $240,000. Yeah, $240,000. Work it out, Rob. You got it. Oh, never mind. If I understand correctly, he's the guy that takes care of the kids. Yeah, he has sole custody, and Brittany does get visitation. She has certain days that she's allowed visitation, but he does have, according to the court, sole custody. As of last time I checked, when they were going through all their custody stuff. But the story today is, you know, Brittany launched her tour last night. It was the first night of her tour, and it kicked off in New Orleans. No, I have a clip of that. Oh, yeah. That is not. So good. Is that from the New Orleans? It's not. Yeah, that's from the New Orleans. Okay. Oh, that's where it really goes. Sounds kind of different and creepy. Weird. Weird. That's good. I liked it. And so Brittany really, really wanted the boys on tour with her. It was very important to her. But KFED's like, hey, you know, I have custody of the kids. You can't just take them on this, you know, long tour. So they made an agreement for KFED to go along on tour with Brittany and the kids. And KFED, in addition to his $20,000, would get an additional $5,000 a month just to be on the tour.
Dude. And so yesterday, K-Fed was spotted gambling the night away at Harris Casino in New Orleans. Good job. What? Yeah. Well, then who's watching the kids? Yeah. Well, I'm sure they have, like, a whole, you know, slew of nannies on tour as well. It's not like K-Fed's, like, really. To be out there gambling and drinking. Scotch. Scotch. Scotch. Oh, man. Popo's out. You know it. You guys know that makes me nuts. Don't encourage it. The too much money, you know, I don't know. How much does it cost? That kind of deal. Anyway. The top sports stories of the day. It's the Sports Dirt with Eddie. Well, the Coast Guard has ended the search for the three men who are lost at sea, including two NFL players, saying, you know, obviously things are, you know, not good. That's got to be so tough as a family member, even though, you know, rationally you understand that it's not possible, really. As a family member, it's got to be hard to hear that they're going to stop. You would want them to just keep searching forever. Here's the Coast Guard spokesperson talking about why they're calling off the search. The families have our utmost sympathy at this point. It's an extremely difficult time for them. Well, you know, one of the kind of creepy details that came out about the one survivor, and they're saying, you know, like his head may not be right, so we're not real sure if he's...
You know, got the details correct. Yeah. But he says that at some point in the middle of the night that one of the NFL players took off his life jacket and let himself kind of drift off because he couldn't hang out anymore. And then he said a little while later. The other guy did that. Wait a minute. Now, this is a survivor, right? Yeah, there's only one survivor out of the four. Wasn't the one survivor clinging to the boat? Yeah. Well, he was kind of either sitting on the boat, clinging to the boat kind of a thing. And I think you said they initially were all clinging to the boat. Oh, okay. And then the two NFL players apparently took off their life jackets and just kind of... Two of them did or one of them did? Both of them. Like one first and then a little while later. One first and then a little while the second one did. When you're watching Bear Grylls, one of his biggest things is the mental part. 100%. And he always says that, you know, you kind of got to keep your hopes up and that will get you through whatever you're about to face. Right. And if you keep your hopes high and keep your, you know, just the positive thinking, you know, because he says once you take that turn.
Because he does some scary stuff. Like I was telling you guys about, he goes into glaciers and it gets real dark, or he goes into caves. And if you kind of lose your cool and stress out, he says, that's when it kind of ends. Well, the two guys that weren't the NFL players who were on the fishing trip, including the survivor, played at the University of South Florida. And here's the University of South Florida head coach who's obviously upset about the situation. Will's a great young man. And I love him dearly. His parents have failed me. That's tough, dude. And then Marky Scooper, one of the NFL players, played for the Raiders last year. Here's his dad talking about the situation. If he did go, he went in his love. So, you know, that just is a really sad story. One that, you know, at least, you know, you can say at least one person survived and, you know, he was able to hold on. For sure. That was good.
The Antonio Cromartie situation is apparently over. Looks like he will stay with the Chargers, at least for the 09 season, because Drayton Florence ended up signing with the Buffalo Bills. Really? So the plans that the Chargers had of possibly signing Drayton Florence and then putting Antonio Cromartie on the trading block is not going to happen. Now, weren't you saying yesterday if they were to bring Drayton Florence in and they were to trade? Antonio Cromartie, it would free money up for them? Well, it would mean they wouldn't have to sign Antonio Cromartie, who's going to be a free agent soon. Okay, so they still don't, right? I mean, he could get signed somewhere. Yeah, absolutely. Antonio Cromartie, I believe, is a free agent in 2010. Okay. So he'll be on the team in 2009, and they may try to re-sign him, or they may try to trade him, or they could just let him walk away. Do they have the dough to sign who they got, like our big guys? Not everybody. I mean, you've got to pick and choose. I mean, when you have to sign your franchise quarterback, your franchise defensive player, your franchise left tackle, your cornerback who is a pro bowler, I mean, the list goes on and on. You know what would be fun to have you do? Put in order the way you would sign them. I could absolutely do that. Your order of priority. Yes, I'd like to hear that.
Well, the Broncos have come out and publicly said they are not going to trade Jay Cutler. He is not going to be traded now. Wow. And once they did that, then Cutler says, all right, fine, we can talk now. Because what apparently had happened is the Broncos were in talks for a three-way trade with the Buccaneers and the Patriots to bring Matt Castle to the Broncos. And trade Jay Cutler. And obviously miffed Jay Cutler. And was like, hey, what the heck? Hey, guys. Text Mikey at gmail.com. This text from P1 Millennium Falcon says, I have been a Bronco fan since I was in second grade. I'm 30 years old now and I feel betrayed. First my head coach, then maybe my quarterback. This is totally ridiculous. I think it's a big mistake. The new head coach should go to New England and collect cans. Oh, okay. Wow. We can bring you to the playoffs. Let's see what two of you whistling then. Mikey, please try to remember, Jay Cutler has zero playoff appearances. He needs to shut up and be thankful he even has a job. Strong opinions on both sides. Very strong opinions. Love it, dude. Mikey, who does Jay Cutler think he is?
Now, I'm starting to just key in on something. It could be in our community here in San Diego. There's already a dislike for him because we're rivals. But then you've got to take into consideration the fact that there was some jawing going on between him and our quarterback. Our team does not like Jay Cutler. Hates him. I mean, obviously the Philip Rivers stuff. Matt Wilhelm has come out and called him a punk. Really? There's a lot of stuff about it. They do not like Jay Cutler. Whoa. So he says, who does Jay Cutler think he is? He may have gone to the Pro Bowl, but in a system that picks Kerry Collins as a Pro Bowl alternate over Phillip Rivers, the league's highest rated passer, that should tell you something. Not true. Cutler is 17 and 20 over the last three years. Phillip Rivers was the first alternate and chose not to play. That's why Kerry Collins went to the Pro Bowl. So how about that? Let's see. Mikey, he has no right to be mad. It's a business decision. He's a whiny little baby. Wah, wah, wah. Now hold on a second. Talk to me, Eddie. You know, I got to say this, you know, Jake Cutler is a franchise quarterback. You have to give him that. He's a very good quarterback. And it's hard to find franchise quarterbacks in the NFL. I mean, it's a tough thing to do. And, you know, if I'm a Broncos fan, I'm kind of going, well, what the heck? You know, I understand, you know, that we have a new head coach and he comes from New England and he has a certain system he runs. But we're really not going to give Jake Cutler a chance to run this system?
Really? He may flourish in this system. And to try and trade him for a guy, Matt Castle, who played one year in New England, did very well. I'm going to give him credit, but he's played one year. That, to me, is a very poor decision. And now you're dividing your team and you're making your franchise quarterback angry. That's not a smart decision in my eyes. And it doesn't matter what business you run. You want the people that are doing it, you want them to be happy. Yeah. You know what I mean? And work hard for you. Yeah. If his head's all in the clouds, forget it. Eddie, what do you think of P1 Iceberg Slim who says? Has anyone considered? Jay Cutler's haircut. And I don't think anybody, I don't know anybody has. I don't know anybody has. Gosh darn it, I didn't think about that. Buster Brown? No, he's got a Buster Brown. Eddie, the conspiracy theories are coming in. Oh, good. You and Captain Dave, what is your theory about the Broncos wanting to get rid of Jay Cutler? Hey, good morning, Magic Show. You and Captain Dave. You know, I'm one of the bigger fans here in San Diego and Oracle. I just have a question for you. You know,
Most of the San Diego Charger fans here in San Diego, you know, they have views, they have issues. In the offseason, you don't really follow the football, and I can understand that. But look at the big picture here. Cutler has diabetes, class A, okay? Do you think the Broncos, first of all, didn't let him know that he was going to be put on the block? Second of all, are they going to want to manage a handicapped quarterback? Let's go back to your American Idol thing. Is he a fan because, hey, we've got to keep him because he's got diabetes? Well, let's get rid of him because he's got diabetes. Well, I think that's kind of silly. I think, A, number one, it's clear that Jay Cutler is able to handle and manage his diabetes and be able to play on the football field. If he wasn't, there would be stories nonstop about how he had to leave the game to go get an insulin shot or passed out or did this. He's able to manage his diabetes. And win. And win and do very well with it. And I don't think they're keeping him because the diabetes makes him more popular or anything like that. No, I don't think that. I don't think diabetes has anything to do with it. Eddie, you ready to hear a Charger rumor? Oh, sure. Oh, goodness. Here we go. P1 Red Baron. No, no, no, no. Nope. Sorry about that. It's P1 Ernesto. You there, Ernesto? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. I heard yesterday at work.
At work, Eddie. At work. One of the people that I work for, he works for the San Diego Chargers. And I overheard him telling his wife that they might transfer Dre Bly from the Denver Broncos. I think he was released. They're going to transfer him as a starter for the Chargers this season. Eddie? Oh, wow. That is very bizarre. First of all, I don't think the Chargers are interested in Dre Bly. Second of all, where he wouldn't start because you have Quentin Jammer and Antonio Camardi already established as starters. And you have Antoine Cason as the nickelback. So I don't know where Dre Bly would even play. So that wouldn't make any sense to me if they did that. This guy just IM'd me with Chad Kroger if he's a nickelback. So that's pretty easy to understand. I love rumors. So the stock market. has been way down, and Obama addressed it. He wants to tell you about how he's going to be making decisions moving forward in the face of this. We'll tell you what he said coming up next. Also, we are going to be speaking to ATF Special Agent Jay Dobbins, who infiltrated the Hells Angels. Next. Six days a week. You guys are awesome.
Appreciate it, bro. Thank you. I'm a P1 because of my girlfriend, Lynn, who turned me on the station. Now we got you guys on every morning and stuff like that. Home of the P1s and stuff like that. And Ashley. I mean, literally, like, my brain is blank. Like he shows on Rock 1053. Speaking of white guys with soul. Taylor Hicks is going to be in here after 10 o'clock. He won the TV show American Idol. Wow. Wow. He came in American Idol, and he's going to be in here today. That's a white dude singing right there. The best. He defies the laws of gravity. Gravity? It's like 1 o'clock in the morning on the 28-hour show, ain't it? Love it. So good. So the stock market's been way down, and we were talking about it the other day, you know, and I was saying, hey, listen. If the stock market was way up, all the Dems would be saying, see, we told you, Obama fixed it. He's the best. And, you know, now that the stock market's down, us conservatives are going, look at you there, guy. Not fixing it. Shame. Shame on you. And then Ashley was like, you know what, you guys, though? If you're going to talk about it like that, just know that if you point. Guess what? Guess what?
You said I'd be careful whether you point your finger. Point your finger because... Because if you point one finger at someone else and guess what? Guess what? You pointing three back at yourself. That's what she's trying to say. Guess what? It's very profound. So let me hit my stock market application. Oh. Okay, here I go. I got to look now, too. What just happened? I just hit the stock market application on my iPhone to see where the Dow is. So it sounds like it's making a comeback today, Mike. Oh, all right. We are at 6,768. And just so you know, if it gets to the 7,000 range, we're in bad shape. Well, no, it's lower than 7,000. Oh, wow. No, he said if we were, our money guy told us that 7,000 was not good, that we need to be. I know, and now we're lower than it. Hi. That's bad. So we're at 6, 7, 6, 8. So what does Obama say?
Obama says, you know, because he's been asked about, you know, his policy and the day to day fluctuations of the market. And what he said is that he's not really looking at the day to day. He used the word gyrations of the stock market, the gyrations. But what he's looking at in regards to his policy is the long term ability for the United States and the entire world economy to regain its footing. So he says there's a lot of losses with companies that are working its way through the financial system right now. And so it's not surprising that the market is reacting the way it is. So in other words, what he's saying is, which I think, I mean, at least in our line of work, it's a good philosophy. It is, hey, listen, if stuff starts going bad, you don't overreact to it. You don't flip out. You know, you do. You just stay the course. If you believe in your plan and you believe your plan is going to work, you know. Stick to it and give it time to work before you abandon it completely. That's right. Yeah. On the phone right now, Jay Dobbins. Hey, good morning, guys. Thanks for having me. Good morning. It's nice to have you on. Jay Dobbins has a book out right now called No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hell's Angels. Dang. Pretty interesting stuff.
you have worked for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms for more than 20 years and had the very unique opportunity to infiltrate the Hells Angels. When did you do that, Jay? One through 2003. Wow. So you were in there for a couple of years. How old were you at the time? Like, yeah, early 40s. And what city did they have you begin? Well, it started in the Phoenix area, but we actually spent... I actually spent quite a bit of time right there in your guys' backyard, man. You guys got a rough and tumble crew of Hell's Angels right there. Is that right? What part specifically? Yeah, what part of San Diego? There was a, where's that part? It's like El Cajon. There's a bar called Dumont's. Oh. Yeah, I hang out there all the time. No, you don't. I've never been there. You don't even know what that is. You do not hang out there. Very aggressive and, you know, just.
Tough group of Hell's Angels there in San Diego. Sick. So they had you stuck. Well, now, why, Ashley, why is that sick? Because I thought sick was, like, cool, you know? And Ashley's saying, ah, Hell's Angels right there. That's sick. Maybe Ashley is in the girls' Hell's Angels. I thought that they were those. Well, okay. She's like, well, they have angels in the title. I thought they were the guys that rode the motorcycles. Dude, I think that they're sick. They're a motorcycle club, right? They're like a gang. Oh, the Bloods and the Crips, that's sick. Yeah, they're a gang. I think they're cool. I think the Bloods and the Crips are cool, too. Aren't they like a religious group? I'm sorry, Jay. I apologize for her. They're like Third Day, right? There's a lot of people that feel that way, man. The Hells Angels are Americana, man. They're America's bad boys. There's a lot of people that, man, these guys are celebrities. Yeah, for sure. Definitely. And, you know, hey, listen, you ain't going to get me saying anything bad. I think they're sick. I think they're sick. I want to have them over for dinner. No, but the Hells Angels, you know, they're a bike gang, you know, a biker gang.
And so are the Mongols. If you've ever heard of the Mongols, there's two pretty big rival groups. And if you were to put it in terms of a gang, it would be like the Bloods and the Crips. And in Jay's book, Jay says that the Hells Angels and the Mongols at some point will have an all-out war. Is that correct, Jay? Yeah, no doubt. I mean, they already got it on, like in a shootout stab out in the Harris Casino in Laughlin in 2002. I remember that. I read about that. Dude. And when they cross paths, whether it be by design or by accident, man, they get it on like no other. Jay, let me ask you. So you're around 40 years old when they put you undercover. And you begin in the Phoenix area and even did some work here in San Diego. So my big question for you is, how do they determine that you have the rocks to be able to do this?
sort of the wherewithal and the guts to not be shaken under pressure? Because you would think that that would be sort of the main characteristic of somebody that goes undercover. How were they able to determine that you were steely enough to be able to do it? Case third, I'd already had 18 years of undercover experience under my belt. So, man, I had all my skills. My confidence was high. I was the right guy at the right time, at the right place to take a run at these guys. It is, man. It's a test drive. And they press you. They, you know, I got sent out. I did everything from picking up garbage at parties to being sent out on assassination runs for them and everything in between. Oh, my gosh. Now, that's what I guess is the real tough part. If they send you out on an assassination run and you don't do it, you're not for real, right? Well, for example, I get called into the Hells Angels Clubhouse in Arizona.
And I get there and they say, you're going to Las Vegas this afternoon and you're going to assassinate some dudes on our behalf. And we're going to follow you. And when you get there, when you see these guys, if you don't kill them, we're going to kill you. That's how things work in this culture. I'm driving up the road. I'm like in a, you know, in a dead panic trying to figure out how I'm going to get through this one. I call a Vegas detective that I know. And I said, hey, look, there's some dudes waiting at this spot. When I get there. I'm supposed to smoke these guys, man. You've got to get out there. You've got to beat me there. You've got to get these guys taken off the street. Because if I don't shoot them, if I don't kill these guys, they're going to kill me. Wow. That is just unreal. The detective went out and snatched them. And then in the eyes of the Hells Angels, I went there. I went there to take care of business. I come back home to Arizona like to a hero's welcome. Because in their world, in their eyes, I was ready to, you know. Get it on. That's right. This is a movie, man. This is crazy. Absolutely. Century Fox brought the rights to the story, so we'll see. Nice. Oh, there you go. We're talking to Jay Dobbins. The book is called No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels. Who would you want to play you in a movie? Tradition, even though the club is a very racist club, I want Denzel Washington to be the first black Hells Angel. Wow. Wow.
I don't know. Okay. It's interesting. Well, there's his answer. I'm real good with the club, but it would be flattering on me. Is that what they refer to themselves as? Do they refer to themselves as a club? As a club. You know, they portray themselves. They have a good propaganda machine. You know, they portray themselves to be the community servants and the rebels and, you know, the patriots. But, you know, and they're not entirely antisocial. Not every hell's angel I met was a murderer or a rapist. But heaven forbid, you know, you cross them. or you insult their club, you will find out what that means in a very quick and violent way. Wow. Well, just in case we've said anything that's disrespectful, we take it back. Big props. Jay Dobbins was the first federal agent to infiltrate the Hells Angels, and he says that they have a pretty big community here in San Diego. His undercover alter ego was named Bird.
How did you get that name? You know, that's been my nickname since I was a little kid, and I just rolled it into that persona. Dude, I just, I cannot imagine what it would be like to be amongst these guys pretending to be one of their brothers, and in reality you're a cop, and just knowing that in any moment you could be found out, it seems like that would be extraordinarily stressful. Sky has a question. Yeah, when you went undercover, were you married at the time, or was your family aware of any of this? Yeah, yes and yes. And the battle damage that I put on my family was just, it was incredible. You know, it's just that the families of all law enforcement officers, and our families are the heroes, man, because they really sacrifice for what we do. You've had repeated death threats since leaving the Angels. And you have had your house burned down. Oh, my God. Jay, are you there? Oh, no. Dude. We just lost Jay. Oh, no. The book is called No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hell's Angels. It's on sale now. I'm buying it. I have so many more questions. Right?
Wow. Jay was undercover for 21 months and, like I said, had repeated death threats since leaving the Angels, and his house has been burned down. Before joining the ATF, he was a star wide receiver at the University of Arizona. Oh, man. No way. What a life. Very, very interesting story. And I don't know if we got disconnected or why he had to go, but, man. I hope he's okay. There he is. Phone's ringing. Do we have time, Eddie? Yeah. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number. This is the Mikey Show 360. We still don't know what happened, by the way. Eddie was trying to figure it out while we were in break and find out what happened to Jay Dobbins, the guy that infiltrated the Hells Angels, and we don't know what happened to him. And so we're going to be getting to what people are talking about here in just a second, and we're going to tell you what's the big stuff going on right now in the world. The Mikey Show 360, we do that every hour. At approximately 30 minutes after the hour, we talk about the big hot topics. And we're getting some crazy text messages about Jay. Really? Who called in, who was one of the guys that infiltrated the Hells Angels. This one is from P1 Ladybug. She says, I'm pretty familiar with Jay's story. And my question is, why isn't he afraid to show his face and not try to hide? Yeah. Which, yeah. I mean, you know, because he is out there. Why isn't he afraid? Oh, why isn't he afraid? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was asking the same thing. Ask Bird why no charges were brought against any of the Hells Angels that he had gathered evidence against. Oh, yeah. Really? Didn't know that. That's weird. Mikey, didn't Charlie Sheen play someone who also went undercover as a Hells Angel in a movie during the 90s?
I'm not big. I'm not really up on my Charlie Sheen trivia. What? And so I'm not sure. Mikey, that ATF agent is a bad dude. We all owe him a great deal of debt. Semper Fi, that's P1 Chuckles. That's pretty crazy. Yeah. It's Mikey Show. Text Mikey at gmail.com if you want to text us. And obviously that works also as a... as an email. You can call us at 570-1053 if you want to. Fast and Furious, loud and proud. What is this? Dude, this is going to be great. Well, especially, listen, you know me, I'm a movie buff and, you know, goofy movies always irritate me, but I have a guilty pleasure and it is these Fast and the Furious movies. Now, the new one is named strangely. It's called Fast and Furious. Well, what's really interesting about this one is they're bringing back the entire cast from the first one. So you're getting the Vin Diesel, the Paul Walkers, the Michelle Rodriguez. Let's just talk about Paul Walker for a second. See the blonde dude? Oh, Mike, please. Anyway, back to you, Eddie. Sure, you can have my number, baby. There's Paul Walker. So, yeah, they're reuniting him.
It's going to be great, man. That is cool. Reuniting the whole old cast, which is going to be awesome. That's fun. Yeah, fun. So check this out. If you have a muscle car or if you have a car that you're very proud of and said car is loud and proud, I'm probably talking about some kind of cool headers and some exhaust units and stuff like that. What we're going to do is we're going to have you come to the station at 8 a.m. And the way that you do it is we're going to judge you in three categories. Engine sound, appearance, and Mikey show flair, meaning how well your car promotes the Mikey show. But we're just looking for cool sounding cars. How cool does your car sound?
And what do you win? I don't know. Just tickets to the premiere of Fast and Furious at the Gibson Theater in Los Angeles. And transportation from Avalon Transportation and Leverie Service that you can find, by the way, at transportationsd.com. Nice. And so I think that's pretty cool. But we're also going to add to that tickets to the after party. Wow. With the cast. So you can meet like Vin Diesel? Yeah. Crazy. Yeah, the cast is going to be there. Round trip transportation. I mean, that's just cool. So, if you're interested in this, it's going to be one week from today. Wednesday, March 11th at the radio station. Bring your car down here if it sounds cool. You got a cool sounding car? Get down here. 8 o'clock in the morning and we're going to judge you on sound, appearance, And Mikey Show Flair, how well do you promote the Mikey Show? It's Fast and Furious, Loud and Proud. We're doing it here a week from today. And we want to see you come out and take part in it. Let's see. Jennifer Aniston is talking about how she's kind of tired of the whole Brangelina thing.
Yeah, she did a recent interview where she said, no matter what I say, things will always be taken out of context and misinterpreted. They'll always be turned around to make it seem as though I won't let something go or I just keep talking about it over and over. She goes on to say, I don't owe anybody anything. I don't owe anybody my side of the story. And there are no sides. There's no bad guy and there's no good guy. There are no villains and there's no heroine in this story. So that's pretty shocking, you know, because people are always like, oh, poor Jen Aniston, you know, they wronged her. She's over it. She's an angel. I like it. But she's over it, right? I mean, that's her basic thing. She doesn't want to hear it anymore. And she says there's no villains and there's no heroin in this story. Good. Crack is whack. What do you think of that, Skye? What do you think of that? Is it cocaine? Yes, because crack is whack. No, I don't think she meant heroin like that. Oh. What? I thought that that's, yeah, I thought she was talking about. Coating? Vicodin? Percocet? No. That's what she was saying. No, I don't think she was saying that. Something different? Yeah, that's exactly what she was saying. No, no. She was like, stay off the drugs.
What do you think, Skye? I say, you know, good for her. You know, it definitely sounds like she's moved on. I mean, I personally do think there are villains in this story, but... Mostly her. I mean, being part of... But she's taking the high road. She's taking the high road. I'm part of Team Brangelina. So how is Angelina... I mean, how is Jen a villain? She's a villain because she's not telling the truth. And the truth is that her and Brad worked over when Angie and Brad now. That is not true. We're still married. They were married, but they were separated. Talk to Brad, and you'll find out the details, okay? How am I going to talk to Brad? I thought you'd have him on your speech. Hit him up on your celly. Yeah, hit him up on your Facebook and put on your status, Brad, hey, call me. That's weird. That might work. Yeah, I don't think so. Hey, Harry Carey! Oh, gosh. Oh, hi. Carrie Underwood, what are you doing here? It's me, Carrie Underwood. Oh, gosh. Yes. I have a question. What, you have a question for me? How come everybody's so sick of Brad and Angelina, but no one complains about Jessica Simpson and my ex-boyfriend, Tony Romo? Calm down. Now, that's a good question. You want to know something? You want to know something, Harry? Every time, every time I'm in a gun store, all I have.
Here's Tony and Jessica. Every time I'm at the liquor store, all I hear is Tony and Jessica. Why are you going to these places? That is kind of weird. Every time I Google how to remove fingerprints, all I see on the internet is Tony and Jessica. Why are you doing that? Yeah, Harry Carey. Yeah, Harry Carey. It sounds like you're at a pickle. I am. Speaking of pickles, if you were a Chicago-style hot dog. Yeah. What'd you eat yourself? Chicago style means a juicy American beef frank with a delicious slice of dill pickle added on it. That's right. It's a perfect mixture of salty and tart. What's Harry talking about? Salty and tart. Speaking of tarts, what about Jessica Simpson? Yeah, we were just talking. What's her problem, man? A lot, apparently. I'm Carrie Underwood. Carrie, I thought you were over it. Come on. I read that she gained a lot of weight. Oh, my God. Come on. And I know how tough it is when the press just wants to focus on the way you look. And so I felt sorry for her, and I sent her a dozen donuts. Oh, you're the sweetest.
We see what you're doing there, Carrie. Those are fattening. We see what's going on there, lady. But I put a sweet little note on there. What did it say? It said... Lay on another layer, tubby. See, it is what I thought. It is. It is what I thought. I hope that she gets it. What I really meant by that was chin up, friend. Double chin. Yeah. I'm sure she'll get it, Karen. Hey, Harry, Karen. Oh, hey, Carrie Underwood. Who cares about Brangelica? Brangelita, I believe. I'm sick of talking about Jessimo. Wait. Antonica. Wait, that's not. Whatever. I know what you mean, Carrie Underwood. I'm glad. I'm sick of talking about how I fell through the ice in Minnesota when I was ice fishing. You did? I mean, get over it, America. I didn't even do that. Everybody loves to talk about it. It's true.
I'm glad you do. You're a good friend. I love you so much. We're sharing a Snuggie right now. Every time? We love it. I wish people would pay attention to my new boyfriend, Ben Cheeseburger from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Who is that? Ben Cheeseburger. I don't think that's his last name. I think that might be. I love a good cheeseburger, Carrie. I once ate 24 burgers in one sitting. You did? Yeah. I stored most of it in my third stomach. You don't have a third stomach. I'm built like a llama. No, you're not. That's weird. That's the truth. You're my friend, Harry Carey. You're my friend, Carey. I love you so much. I love you more. You're the only friend I have with three stomachs except for Jessica. That's a good one. That's a good one. Hi. Hi, Carrie Underwood. Yeah. I once bought a lobster for the supermarket, and instead of cooking him, I let him live in my bathtub for a year. You did? His name was Burpee. His name was Burpee? Yeah. Hey, Scott. Yes, Harry and Carrie. Let me ask you a question. Okay. If you were a lobster. Ask her. Yeah. And you were starving. Keep going. Yeah.
Would you eat yourself? Answer the question. Answer the question. It doesn't even make sense. Just answer the question. Don't be yelling at me, Terry. Stop yelling at me. I got to tell you guys, I would. You would? Of course you would. I dunk myself in some delicious hot drawn butter. You would dip yourself in hot drawn butter. I would. You're starving, but you have butter on hand. Yeah. Scott, in India, they call it ghee. Ghee? What? They call it ghee. What? Not to be confused with gay. See, that's what I thought you were saying. Clay Aiken's gay. Yeah. Now I understand. Not gay. That's right. He's not gay. Do you understand? Yeah. I'm glad we got that clear to her. Clay Aiken's gay. Yeah. And then you dip your lobster in gay. I dip my lobster in Clay Aiken. Wait, no. I mean, I got it confused. Now I'm confused. I'm all over the place. You're a nut, man. What's up, Carrie Underwood? Tell me something cool. Okay, Carrie Underwood. What? One thing that I appreciate talking about is the alphabet. What the heck? What? I mean, there's just so many letters. What do you mean? My personal favorite is letter S. S? Because it looks like a worm. You are so strange, Terry. You're strange. No, that's a worm. No, that's Ashley.
I believe you're from South Africa. No. Well, you were just talking about the letter S. Yeah, that's right. Well, speaking of Tony Romo. I don't know that you were. Let me tell you something, Harry Carey. Okay. I am so over going to his house in Austin every night and peeking in his windows trying to find out what he's doing. I'm over it. You're over that? I'm over that. Because you seem really into it. I'm not. That's stalking, Carrie. And every time he leaves in Austin. that I go to every night to peek through the windows at. I go in there and I smell his pillowcase. Okay. That's illegal, I believe. It smells like him. It smells like Dallas Cowboy. Okay. But Eddie and everybody and Harry Carey, I think I'm getting over him. I think I'm over him now. Oh, right now? I just got over him. You're a mental case, Carey. That's your BS. You don't talk to everyone like that. But I love you for it. Hey, I really love Jen for Aniston's hairstyle. And I just love her style in general. I agree. That Jen Aniston is what classy lady is. Do you think she is? I believe she is. That's going to be my new motto. I like when she says there's no good guy and no bad guy. I like that she says that. That's very nice. I agree. But in my case, though.
I think there is a bad woman, and she steals men and wears horrible mom jeans. Okay, not the mom jeans again, Carrie. But not to name names, because that's beneath me. I thought you were over it. That's beneath me to say who I'm talking about. You said you were over it. So I won't say, but she wears mom jeans. She gained a lot of weight. You said you were over it. What the hell were we talking about? Totally wrong with Jessica Simpson. Carrie, just name the name. You mean Tonica? Yeah, yeah, Tonica. I mean Tonica. I gotta tell you, I love reading about this. See, that's what I'm talking about, Sky. About how everybody's happy about Jessica makes Tony happy. And how Jessica Simpson so much prettier than I am. And how Tonica dress alike. And how they may get a puppy. A puppy? Harry Caray, you're supposed to be on my side. Don't talk about them. Seriously. I'm sorry, Carrie Edward. That must be the pits. Who says that ever? When Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got together, it really upset me. Did you just say Jessica Biel? No, I'm just madly in love with her biceps. Me too. Seriously, I want to take them and roll them up in a burrito. I want to put some hot sauce on them and eat them up. I want to do that too. That's delicious.
Maybe some Scrabble Degs. I don't know. I want to put Jessica Simpson in a bottle of whiskey and drink her. That sounds like a lot of fun. I didn't like your hair anymore. I'm sorry. I love the Mikey Show. You know what? You guys are awesome. I do too. I appreciate you every day. Thank you, brother. The place, the place, the place, the insurance place. Call 1-800-SAFE-102. I support sweat everywhere I go. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Don't stop. And we actually have Jay back on the line. Jay infiltrated the Hells Angels. I'm talking about Jay Dobbins. And we have him back on the line. Jay, what happened? Did we get cut off earlier? Yeah, we got cut off earlier. Yeah, I've been bouncing to a couple different stations. And I think they X'd me out here and moved on and brought me back. Jay? We were worried about you, Jay. That's right. Hey, Jay, let me tell you.
I went off or what? We don't know, man. We weren't sure what happened to you. I mean, listen, I mean, you were undercover for 21 months with the Hells Angels and suddenly the phone disconnects. We don't know what's going on. But anyway, there's a couple of interesting points that we wanted to hit on since we have you back. And just so that people know, Jay Dobbins, he is the first federal agent to infiltrate the Hells Angels. His book is called No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels. We got some really great text messages when you were on. And one of them was from P1 Ladybug. And she said, I'm pretty familiar with Jay's story. And my question is, why isn't he afraid to show his face in public now and not try? to hide it, which you're not. You're not trying to hide who you are. And so, Jay, why aren't you afraid? A couple answers to that. A, I choose not to live my life in fear, but that doesn't mean I live my life out of concern. I know who these guys are. I know what they're capable of. I've seen it firsthand, and I don't take them lightly. Don't think that I'm being nonchalant about this.
These guys have their PhDs in violence and intimidation. They're the best at it. They know how to do it. And the other side is, unless you're a CIA operative in today's world, then anybody can find anybody. There really is no way to hide. These are tough dudes, man. The Hells Angels and the Mongols are both motorcycle clubs. And they are... Tough hombres, man. And so for Jay to have been in there sort of infiltrating their inner circle was a big deal. Eddie. Yeah. Jay, did you have to do anything else to kind of, you know, I know in like certain gangs you get like jumped in. Like, were there any other things that you had to do or that they did to you to kind of be brought into the gang? Initiation. Initiation stuff. You know, it's a nonstop. process of that when you're when you're climbing the ladder trying to make your membership but what finally put us over the top is that um which which really hits home where you guys are at is that we convinced the hell's angels that we had murdered a mongol on behalf of the club and when they believed that um man they made me a member wow when did it end in 2003 july of 2003 yes since july of 2003
Have you spoke to any of the Hells Angels that you had contact with during that period of 2001 through 2003? Absolutely, I have. And you know what? Like when you do what I do for a living, when you befriend someone and you gain their trust and you gain their loyalty and then you betray that and you betray it in a public way, like before a judge and a jury, then you know what? You make haters. Yeah. There's animosity and there's resentment and there's people that, you know. Don't care for you. But I've also crossed paths with the guys who've said, hey, you know what? This is old school cops and robbers. We do what we do. You do what you do. You won this one, man. You caught us. Really? So you've seen a level of respect from some of these guys? From some of them, yeah. I think most of them would probably care to see my demise. But I think some of them are respectful, at least, of what my job is. It's not like they don't know that I'm out there. It's not like that they don't know that undercover cops are out there. They're aware of it. Jay, you've spoken to some of... Sorry, go ahead. I was just saying they got caught. Now, Jay, when you say that you've spoken to some of them since 2003, when you stopped, have you spoken to any of them that have had choice words for you? I've been told face-to-face.
Um, you're going to run the rest of your life from the hell's angels. We're going to get you. We know who you are. We know where you're at. Um, you will never live another day in peace. Um, you know, you know, a lot of that. Um, I, man, I hear that all the time, man. I, you know, uh, messages and freaking messy emails and, you know, Jay, what was, what was when you, when, when you had your house burnt down, what were the circumstances surrounding that? Well, there was an arson at my house in August this past summer. And, um, You know what? Beyond that, it's speculation. I don't know. I don't believe the police know who did it. I think there's speculation based on the threat history from the Angels that they had a hand in it. But, man, I don't know that. I don't know that it was them any more than I know it was a couple kids playing a prank that got out of hand. I don't know. But were you home? Was something thrown through the window?
Well, my family was home. I was out of town. My family, my wife and kids were home. The back patio was set on fire, and then it jumped inside the house. I mean, it caved the entire house, and the house was destroyed, everything in it. That is tough. The book is called No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle. of the Hells Angels, and it is on sale now. And as we said before, Jay Dobbins was the first federal agent to infiltrate the Hells Angels, and he wrote a book about it. And that's the name of the book, Undercover for 21 Months, which must have been a very difficult 21 months. And you can read all about it in the book. Jay, we appreciate your time. Hey, thanks for having me and then having me back again the second try. Yeah, sure. Thanks, Jay. All right, guys. Good morning. All right, we'll see you. Don't forget, next hour, we got those $50 payway cards we're going to be giving out. Next Wednesday, Fast and Furious, Loud and Proud. We want people to have loud cars down here at the radio station. Drama. Dude, I'm like kind of shaking too. Dude, this is crazy. And I saw Ashley in there freaking out with you and trying to help. Well, we're trying to deal with it. Like we had a scheduled cheater's hotel call here. It was a gal who thought her dude was cheating. Well, apparently, you know, we set these up, you know, at the beginning of the week and we, you know, set them all up and we do them on Wednesdays. Well, we just talked to her and she said she actually got confirmation and found out and had this huge fight with the guy. What? Because she found out he is cheating. And so I just talked to her and she's like freaking out and bawling and we're like talking to her. It was crazy. It was bad. Really bad. There was quite a bit of chaos in here over the past few minutes. Trying to figure that out. Wow. So apparently that doesn't need to be done. Yeah, he's cheating. All he's taking care of. We found out. Oh, that was unbelievable. All I saw was Ashley in there trying to help you. You were, you know, like snapping, like, give me that piece of paper, give me that piece of paper. And just conversation with this girl and trying to calm her down. Yeah. So, you know, I asked her, you know, do you want to come on and talk about it? And she's obviously not really in.
the right frame of mind to do that but maybe later on the week we can talk to her and kind of get details but uh just a crazy situation man that was uh i could tell that was stressful yeah that was there's barely enough minutes in the spot block dude for real barely enough um dad assaulted a chuck e cheese mascot sky what is this Dude. Well, first of all, you want to take a guess where this gem happened? What part of the country a dad would... Alcohol. No, the country. Is it the south? The part of the country that it happened in? Yeah. Ontario. I would say the Pacific Northwest. Where maybe some people are known for being hotheads that come from this area. Massachusetts. Northeast. The Northeast. Key West. No, Rob, this actually happened in Massachusetts, surprisingly enough. Wow, really? Yeah. It was before the announcement. There you go. Yeah. So, basically, this 34-year-old dad, for some reason, thought that Chucky, Chucky of Chucky Cheese, had... Just give him the stink eye, huh? No, not the stink eye, but he thought that Chucky Cheese had his 11-year-old son pinned against a video game for some reason.
When I guess Chuck E. Cheese really was just trying to make his way through the crowd and had his arms kind of out above the kids so he wouldn't knock kids over when he was walking. Hey, Dad. So the dad runs up to Chuck E. Cheese. And keep in mind, it's a 19-year-old kid inside the zoo working part-time, right? Can I just, by the way, can I just interject and say, maybe we should give... Chuck E. Cheese mascots the benefit of the doubt. They're the worst. Maybe we can assume that they're not attacking. He was wearing a Derek Jeter jersey. Now that you say that, it kind of adds a little bit to it. Dad runs up to Chuck E. He runs up to him in front of all the kids. rips the dude chucky cheese's head off and starts screaming at him and getting all up in his face in front of all of these kids yeah and of course you know once the police were called out all the witnesses were like yeah he didn't have his son pinned he was just working his way through the crowd and um so the prosecutors were requesting six months in jail for this hothead but uh the judge ended up just fining the guy 500 bucks
Thank you. Yeah. Crazy. What a nutty story, man. Dude. What a nutty story. Let's see. Oh, man, we got so much cool stuff. Go watch Mikey Science Theater 3000 at MikeyShow.com. Do yourself a favor, right? It's hysterical. It's hysterical. Let's see. Oh, Scripps Mercy Hospital, Chula Vista. They got fined for... A preventable death of a patient. Yeah. So this went down about a year ago, but the fines just came down, and it was the maximum fine that they could receive for this kind of thing. It was a $25,000 fine. And so basically this happened about a year ago, Scripps Mercy, Chula Vista, and this woman was admitted to the ER for blood. pressure and severe breathing problems so at about 6 30 at night an er doctor ordered a saline solution a saline iv for the patient well about more than two and a half hours after blood test results shows showed that you know she needed this the same physician wrote another prescription
for the saline solution. Never came through. And then finally, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit. Now we're at about 9 o'clock at night, almost three hours later. And a nurse there figured out, hey, this woman hasn't got her saline yet. So that nurse then faxes over another order to the pharmacy for the saline. The saline solution finally arrived at a quarter to 11. Now that is over four hours after the first prescription was written. Terrible. But once the saline finally arrived, it was time for the nurse to take her break. So the nurse took a short break. And then at 11.03 p.m. that night, the patient coded, which is, I guess, when they go into arrest or whatever. C-O-D-E-D, coded. Yeah, coded. And then died 30 minutes later. Terrible. So, yeah, maximum fine, $25,000 to Scripps Mercy, Chula Vista. Yeah. Wow. Denise Richards, will you pose for Playboy again? I've learned in life I don't ever say never. Although my daughters are getting a little older and I don't want to get them embarrassed at school. My nephew, now that he's older, discovered that I had done Playboy.
That's Charlie Sheen's ex-wife. She's another one. We were talking about this the other day. Celebrities that you dislike. You're not a fan? No. I am looking forward to watching Dancing with the Stars just to watch her hopefully fail. That's right. She's on it. I'm sorry. These are my true feelings. I have a big dislike for her. I mean... Is it all about, is it because you play for Team Sheen? Is that the deal? No, I'm not. No, I'm Team America. Well, then there it is. Yeah, I just dislike the whole divorce proceedings, how nasty they were, how it seemed like the children were secondary, the children would be using as like pawns in this. And then to do that creepy reality show and have the kids in it, I'm out, man. I don't know what Boston Rob's problem with Jimmy Fallon is. It's unhealthy. It really is unhealthy. It's not good for him. No, no. I don't know. I was listening, Rob, to Jimmy Fallon's monologue from last night, and I didn't think it was that bad. The economy is not looking good. It's not looking good. Everybody's cutting back. I don't know if you heard this. Today, the Jonas Brothers fired Nick. He's laid off. He's gone. You're happy, bro.
Can I just make an observation? Please. I think the difference in the nervousness between first night and second night is night and day. I think he sounds comfortable kind of already. I mean, yesterday's audio, it was so palpable, the nervousness. And he sounds a little bit more relaxed now. That could have been him doing stand-up on The Tonight Show as a guest. Don't sound that bad. Rob's furious. Here's some good news. Barack Obama announced he's bringing home the troops from Iraq. That's good. Unfortunately, he couldn't get them direct flights home to have a two-year layover in Afghanistan. But they're still coming home, so that's good. Oh, man. That was pretty clever. Come on, man. It was announced that Snoop Dogg has joined the Nation of Islam. And that, yeah, well, that's not true. Actually, he joined the Nation of Islam. Totally different. Totally different than that. That's funny. Come on. This is different. Man, didn't even get him with Deziferent. I got a really... Rob! This one's going to shock you. When you find out who used to babysit Jeremy Piven. We know who Jeremy Piven is. Yeah, Entourage. Entourage. Mercury poisoning. Yeah, we know it all. Smushy. This is Felicity Huffman on the David Letterman Show.
He's just finishing up Speed the Plow. He was in the Broadway play. She's talking about her husband. Her husband, of course, is actor. Bill Macy. William H. Macy. Bill. Billy. Yeah, Billy Macy, if you are familiar with his work. He's just finishing up Speed the Plow. He was in the Broadway play. He just finished it. He came in and replaced Jeremy Piven. What was the deal? Did you have any insight on Jeremy Piven and why he left the production? I didn't. You know, Bill used to babysit Jeremy Piven. His father, Byrne Piven, was a wonderful man. And Bill was an actor in Chicago, young actor, had no money. And Bill used to babysit Jeremy Piven. William H. Macy used to babysit Jeremy Piven. That is nuts. Mercury Man. He used to babysit him. How bizarre is that? That is really weird. Babysitting Jeremy Piven. Oh, Felicity. Oh, Felicity. Oh, Felicity. It's the role after Jeremy Piven leaves. Right. But, I mean, it was something about too much mercury. That's what they say. I don't like she, not mine either. Bill Gates says that he won't let his family use Apple products. Well, duh. Right?
Come on. What about an iPod, though, man? You can't use an iPod? Yeah. Dude. Does he have kids? No, you use Zoom. I think that's the name. What the heck is that? Well, come on. You can't just make things up, Mike. Yeah. You use the window e-player. Yeah. The beat bop. So, Melinda Gates, his wife, was doing an interview with... Wait. You know what just hit me right now? Yeah? I'm thinking to myself... What family member of Bill Gates has the rocks to get an Apple product? Your dad's Bill Gates. You could get anything. But you don't think you're going to make him mad? Well, that's what I'm saying. If you're like the son of Bill Gates, you can get anything. So, like, why would you need to, like, buy a Mac or whatever? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You get any kind of MP3 player you want that's not Mac. Right. And, like, top of the line. Dude, I think it takes rocks to do it. You know, it's like walking in and Boston Rob's listening to Jeff and Jer. And he does that every day. Yeah, I know. And it upsets me. It totally upsets me. It was just an opportunity for me to get it out there. Rob, stop doing that. It's therapeutic. It's so much fun. It's fine. Man.
Well, Bill's wife, Melinda Gates, told Vogue magazine in an interview that, yeah, that Apple products are banned from their house. But she does say every now she looks at her friends and say, ooh, I wish I could have one of those iPhones. Oh, that's so messed up. Oh, man. It's so messed up. Wow, dude. Oh. Oh. That's great. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Let's see. Boston Rob's going to be really stoked to know that High School Musical 4 is on. All right. The left backs. There you go. No left backs. Yeah. It's going to be in. Didn't everybody graduate? Nah, man. There was a couple of us. A couple of us, by the way. We're going to be in it. Held back. Yes. Math was just way too hard for me. I'm going to summer school. Skipped out on fifth period. That's awesome. High School Musical 4 will feature a whole brand new cast of Disney kids for America to maybe fall in love with. And this new movie will be shown on the Disney network and will not go to the big screen like High School Musical 3 did.
But that's how the original High School Musical started out on the Disney network and then became so huge they went to the big screen. We'll give them a chance, Eddie. I have no idea what the plot is. Ashley, what is High School Musical? You know, don't you? You don't know? I know it's really popular. I thought you'd be my go-to chick. Does anybody here know? Well, I saw a South Park that was loosely based on that. Well, then that's good enough. What is it about? It's just kids that are like, you know, like... high school troubles and stuff like that, but it's all sung. Are you kidding? That's what it is. The plot is just about kids going to high school and the different things they do, but it's all sung. In these movies, it's about kids going to high school, but it's a musical? Yeah, they break out into song and dance and falling in love. Doesn't Zac Efron play basketball or something like that? Maybe like the modern day Grease? Would that be accurate? In a way, yeah. Here is a scene from the first High School Musical. Oh, jeez. That's from High School 2. That's High School 2? I'm sorry about that. This is from High School 2, the musical. Wow, that sounds sad. This is Zach Efron. Yeah, Vanessa Hudgens. Oh, that's so sad. It's really upset. It's broken hearted. It's so sad. Next year. A Florida woman.
Called 911 because she went through McDonald's and there was something wrong with the Chicken McNuggets. What? Oh. It happened, you guys. Hey, listen. No. Let me tell you something. These fast food people. Eddie, calm down. They will do stuff like this. You got to fight for your rights. Well, when we come back, I'm going to play you the audio of the 911 call. Oh, God. Of this woman calling. Anybody calling about McRibs yet? No. Can we call 911 about the McRibs? No. But let me just tell you this about this thing. She calls them, and then she calls them again, and then she calls them a third time, and that third time the call has ended abruptly. Third time's a charm. Third time's a charm. We will play you said audio next. What's a P1? P1 is someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to The Mikey Show exclusively. That is correct. P1 Army. The Mikey Show. Hey, hey. boss is going to be here any second now and you're all sitting around with fancy coffees. So what? So? This meeting is about cost cutting. I mean, don't you think it sends the wrong message to be sucking down expensive lattes and cappuccinos? But they're McCafe coffees from McDonald's. They're totally affordable. And we used the drive-thru so we didn't have to spend 20 minutes in line at a coffee house like some people. You saw me? Yeah. Yeah. Indulge for less with McCafe coffees at McDonald's.
Smooth lattes, creamy cappuccinos, and sweet mochas all made to order with freshly ground espresso beans. McCafe at McDonald's. Decadence made affordable. Sorry I was late, people. Can't have a meeting without my McCafe mocha. So, what were we talking about? Um, nothing, sir. At participating McDonald's. McDonald's celebrates the end of your week with $1.29 Filet-O-Fish Friday. The famous Filet-O-Fish sandwich with tangy tartar sauce, American cheese, and crispy Filet-O-Fish is just $1.29 every Friday for a limited time at participating McDonald's. Have you guys heard about the Padres? They're a baseball team in San Diego. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, heard it. Well, front of the Union Tribune, front page of the UT today is the story of the Padres. Oh, dude, I read about this. This is unbelievable. I was going to talk about this in news because I thought it was so cool. It's crazy. Well, you know, the economy's tough. And so the Padres recognize that. And I got to give them such mad props for doing this. The economy is tough. So they're slashing prices. Yeah. Talk about the five for five. That's what I want. I'm reading this right now.
This is crazy. I read this and I did a double take and I went, that can't be right. I was looking for an or instead of an and in it. Well, you know, the single game tickets are going on sale this Saturday at 9 a.m. So you got to know you can get your tickets at Padres.com or call them at 877-FRIER-TIX. You can even substitute. a 16-ounce beer for the soda, and pay just $10 for all the five items. Dude, that is so insane that it's front page of the Union Tribune. It used to be that you'd pay $10 just for the beer. And now you get the hot dog, the soda, the popcorn, the peanuts, the cookie, all of it. It's unbelievable. Plus, they're doing so many cool things. They got the Coca-Cola value weekends where you can get upper reserve tickets, hot dog, and a Coke, all for just $12.
For Friday through Sunday games. And, you know, they're obviously limiting them to eight tickets per purchase. But that's crazy. That rules. And don't they have, like, all-you-can-eat tickets that you can buy too? They have an all-you-can-eat section. You can purchase right-field upper box or right-field upper reserve tickets and enjoy an all-you-can-eat food option at one special price. And you get the hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, ice cream, soda. All-you-can-eat. All-you-can-eat, Mike. Did you hear that, Rob? Dude. Yeah, Rob's going to live at Petco Park. Hey, man, I know I've been rough on the Padres, but going to a Major League Baseball game is special. It's fun. I don't care if the team sucks or not. The Padres, hey, man, I hope they prove me wrong. I hope this is a good baseball team and they go to the World Series. I really do hope that. And it doesn't matter to me, though, if they're not that good. I'm going because of the experience at Petco Park. A, when I go to baseball games, I love to eat. I love to eat that food. And if I can get it for $5, all that food for $5, I'm going. Dude, hot dog, peanuts, popcorn, cookies, and soda. Yeah, all for $5. $5.
Five dollars. That used to cost probably $25. Oh, yeah. Easily. Yeah, seriously. So this is a huge thing that the Padres are doing. They're calling it the Padres Stimulus Plan. Wow. But this is great. So if you want your tickets to the Padres, they go on sale this Saturday, 9 a.m. Again, you can go to Padres.com or give them a call at 877-Friartix. It's 8.40, and yeah, so before we went to break, I said that we had audio of a 911 call from a woman in Fort Pierce, Florida, who was driving to the McDonald's, and she was told that they were out of McNuggets. Somebody didn't drop McNuggets. There's actual audio of the woman when she was told that she would not be given. But she was told after she had paid for said McNuggets. It sounded like the changeling. It did. It almost sounded like Angelina Jolie, but I have a clip.
of Angelina Jolie from The Changeling, if you want to hear that. I saw the movie. Let's hear it. Hold on. Those aren't my nuggets. Yeah, that's what the lady... Mike played the wrong clip. Let me hear the clip from the movie The Changeling with Angelina Jolie. For whatever reason. Where is my nuggets? Yeah. Angelina Jolie said, where is my nuggets? Mike, I'm starting to disagree with you. Hang on a second. Now let's listen to the actual 911 call, which is, the audio isn't the best, but neither was that. So let's take a listen to the actual 911 call from Fort Pierce, Florida. 911, do you need police, fire, and ambulance? Hello. Where?
First of all, Eddie, the nuggets don't come in 10-piece. It comes in 6, 9, and 20. Clear it up, Eddie. Thank you, Eddie. So what are you saying? This is faulty information immediately. She said how many? She said ten. Ten. Ten piece nugget doesn't exist. Doesn't exist. Me and Eddie have both worked there. You got your three piece, right? No. Mike? Sorry. Michael. What do you get? You get six. Six piece? Six. Nine. Twenty. Six. Nine. Twenty. And I told her, just give me all my money back. And she said she can't give me my money back either. I have to pay something. There's no manager there. Well, why would they not give her her money back if they didn't have the nuggets? Can anybody explain this? Yes. Skye. According to the person working there, they have a policy of no cash refunds and that all sales are final.
Weird. But they didn't have the... Yeah, but there is no sale. So they offered her something of greater value off the menu, but the cashier kept saying, we have a policy. I have been told I'm not allowed to give cash back. Well, that is ridiculous. Yeah, yeah. That is ridiculous. However, it is not worthy. And there are 10 nuggets, so she is... No way. I'm on their menu right now. There is a four, a six, they've upgraded. Eddie, Eddie, we will accept your apology now, please. I will only say this. The policy must have changed since I worked there. When? When did you work there, Eddie? Eddie, you did work there quite a while. Well, it was 1988 when I worked there. So they may have changed, and I haven't really ordered nuggets. Yeah, when I worked there, which was probably 96, 97. Right. They didn't.
I want these witnesses each. Six, nine, and twenty. Six, nine, and twenty. Six, nine, and twenty. Six, nine, and twenty. Six, nine, and twenty. They didn't even have chicken strips. They didn't have the fruit parfait. I'm tired of your... Hey, listen. They didn't have a lot of that stuff when I worked. They had ten piece nuggets. This lady... I'm on their menu. Did they eliminate the nine? A four, a six, and a ten. You guys, I don't think how many you take at the twenty. Where's the twenty? Where's the issue here? I don't see a twenty piece. Oh, really, McDonald's? You get rid of the twenty piece? I wish it'd be my fourteen kids. And what's the matter, you? Yeah. What, do I get my barbecue sauce or what? Honey mustard? What's the deal? How many do I get? Do I have to ask for two? What's going on? Wait, wait, wait. First of all, that was poor grammar. She is the manager. She said she is the manager. I'm just correcting. That's poor policy, by the way. Sorry. I have a problem with what she's saying. She's calling them chicken nuggets. They're not chicken nuggets. They are McNuggets. They don't even have the word chicken in there. Yes, they are McNuggets. I know that they really can't put the word chicken in there. Hold on a second. They're delicious. They use the finest pieces of chicken.
Thank you very much. I don't want anything. If she can't find my money in the house, she don't have what I want. I'll take the nugget things. McNuggets. Can I get the McLumps? Oh, my. Ew. They were trying to give her a McDouble and a small fry in exchange. I don't know. What is a McDouble? Where am I right now? Hold on, Eddie, Eddie. What's going on? Because I know from state to state. Because this was crazy when I told Sarissa this, that back in Mass, my favorite thing on the McDonald's menu was the chicken fajita. Chicken fajita. Pronounced fajita. Fajita, sorry. In America. Sorry, sorry. And they don't have those out here. So maybe there's a McDouble in a certain state. What's a McDouble? I don't. And in Hawaii, you can get pineapple and white rice at McDonald's. You can get Spam, too. Yeah. So maybe it's a regional thing? It's twice a McSingle, guys. There's no McSingle? What's your name? My name is Angry, okay? Birdie. All right, I'll send an officer. I'll send an officer? It's an emergency. Mike, obviously. I'll send an officer? It's a Nugget 911. Oh, for goodness sake.
Don't send an officer out there for that. Police. Well, McDonald's has issued a statement. First of all, I hope they said what a McDouble is. That's first of all. Second of all, I hope that they, in the statement, state that the McRib is coming back. Thirdly, I hope that they state that on March 17th, they have shamrock shakes. Deal with it, everybody. What is that? None of that is in the statement. The woman called 911 again. What? There is no A in McDonald's. McDonald's? It is not McDonald's. It's McDonald's. I guess it depends on what part of the country you live in. Okay. Okay, what's going on? Isn't anybody outraged about this policy?
Doesn't anyone think this is an unfair policy? I think it's foolish. I think it's foolish. Ashley, you pull into a McDonald's. You order a cheeseburger. They say to you, that will be $5, please. You give them the $5. They say, yes, ma'am, sorry, we're out of cheeseburgers. We'll give you a Big Mac. You don't want a Big Mac. No, it's hogwash, Mike. It's hogwash is what this is. Well, what if you got a double cheeseburger out of it? I don't want that. Why not? Because I'm in the mood for chicken. Nuggets. You just said you wanted a cheeseburger. Oh, you're using that example? Okay, that's fine. But the problem is that I don't want all of that that you just said. Maybe he's on a diet. I don't want all that. Take one patty out then. Maybe he's on a diet. Take a patty out. Well, see, that doesn't make sense. I'm incensed. Because there's no way they could make the double cheese if they can't make the single cheese. Thank you. This is a McDouble. And she told me that she can't do that shit because I want anything else from me. I told her, no, you don't have no chicken nuggets. I want a McDouble.
911 operator is listening, by the way. I just want to point that out. Laughing? No. Maybe trying to work out where's the crime. Maybe that's what he's doing. Like, okay, I'm listening. And crime? Question mark? She told me I have to pick something off of me that equal to what I paid because she can't do that. If I told her, just give me all my money back. I don't want anything. She told me she's not going to give me my money back. She can't give me my money back either. Because she's trying to force me to eat something off the ring that I don't want. What's your name? Latricia. Latricia? Uh-huh. You're at McDonald's on Delaware? No, not Delaware. North U.S. one? Okay, yeah, we got an officer coming out there to talk to you. Okay, thank you. All right, thanks. I found what the McDouble is. We got Jeff on the line to tell us, too, Scott. He won Jeff. What is a McDouble? A McDouble is a double cheeseburger with only one slice of cheese. See, McDonald's tried this, you know, and they had 99-cent double cheeseburgers. Yeah. And then they tried to up the price on us when we tried to get double cheeseburgers. So then now if you order a McDouble, you can still get it for 99 cents. Wow. Never heard of this. That's good. I only get one slice of cheese, not the two slices. Well, that's weak.
Eddie, he's got issues. You're particular with your cheese. You know what I would do? I'd buy two of those suckers and borrow the piece of cheese, save the other part for later. Really? You can pay 99 cents for cheese, Mike. Get out of here. Four patties? Four patties. Get out of here with that. Two bucks, four patties. Get out of here with that. Yeah, he's the chet. Yeah, Eddie, you do have some cheese issues, bro. You do. I do not. Hey, listen. All I know is yesterday we had a full-on conversation. Eddie told us yesterday that he... What does one have to do with the other? Well, you're kind of... Well, we're just talking about... I'm what? I'm just saying. A little sensitive when it comes to certain things. We're almost dying. Yeah, I'm a little sensitive about that. We're just, you know, saying that yesterday you told us a story about how you went face-to-face with a squirrel and lived to tell about it. And then, by the way, proceeded to tell us that you were laying in a pool. A pool, you said. Yes, a pool. Of your own blood. Of my own blood. That's what you said. I bleed my own blood. That's your blood.
As a matter of fact, Ashley interviewed you in the Ashley After Show about it. I wouldn't call that an interview. That was a joke. It was very exclusive. It was his first interview, I think, really. And last. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I will not do any more interviews. He walked out of the interview. You're damn right I did. It was tough. You guys make a big joke, like it's a big ha-ha. We got what we needed out of it. It's not funny. Guy almost dies and you think, oh, yeah, it's hysterical. Speaking of exclusives. Yeah. On the phone with us right now. The squirrel from Eddie's store. Is this the squirrel? Yeah, the squirrel. Yeah, the squirrel. Did you hear us talking about you? Yeah. If this is really the squirrel, what street did this take place on? Miller. Miller. Miller. Miller. Maybe it is. Are you okay, squirrel? Yeah, I'm fine. What the hell are you? What's wrong with you? Nothing's wrong with me. You just sound a little... No, I'm fine.
You sound a little, like, amped up or something. No, I'm fine. No, no, no, I'm fine. How are you doing? I'm okay. Oh, my God. Hey, hey, squirrel, bro. Hey, bro. I want to hang out with him. What is so funny? Oh, my goodness, what? This is how the squirrel really was acting. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're the guy on the bike? Yeah, I'm the guy on the bike. You were on a girl bike. Yes, it was a girl bike. It wasn't a girl bike. It was just a bike that a girl owned. Hey, let me ask you something, squirrel. Why didn't you move? Because I wasn't afraid of you. I wasn't afraid of you. I wasn't afraid of you. Really? Yeah, just copying tape. Maybe. Well, we're on the radio. What's your name? It's live. What? On something. See? See? It's acting. It's all hopped up on something. Oh, my God. This is a crazy squirrel. You're nuts. This is a crazy squirrel. Does anybody have nuts? Oh, no. No, I said you're nuts. You have nuts? Who has nuts? No one has nuts. I called you nuts. Are we on the radio? Yes. Are you taking nuts right now? Are you taking nuts right now? No. Is that the dude on the girl bike? If this really is a squirrel, you can admit that it wasn't a girl bike. Yeah, with a girl bike. It was a 10-speed. It belonged to your sister.
What does that have to do with anything? That's a girl's bike. That's a guy if his sister was a girl. My sister is a girl. Well, then it's a girl's bike. Why? Why can't it be a boy's bike that a girl owned? See, now you're stretching it. What is the squirrel doing right now? What is the squirrel doing right now? Wait a minute. Squirrel, can you please confirm that you did laugh at me when I was laying in a pool of my own blood? I did laugh at you. See? Oh, my God. Yes, guys. See? I knew it. But I left you because you read New Girl's Bank. Squirrel, why were you in such a hurry? Why couldn't you get out of Eddie's way? Because I was going to get some nuts. Some nuts? I was going to 7-11-2.
You're going to 7-Eleven, too? Why were you going the opposite direction? Oh, fold me. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I'm so mad at you. It's cold in here. Are you guys cold? Where are you? Oh, I'm watching Donahue. I'm starting to wonder whether or not this really is the squirrel. I believe him. Squirrel. Are you dating me right now? I have to go. What? That was so weird. That was the weirdest squirrel. I think he was on something. Great show, everybody. Great show. Your mind racing over the return of grilled salmon tacos and burritos at Rubio's. Chili lime salmon to be exact. You are euphoric over this fish that so perfectly represents the bold, fresh flavors of Rubio's Beach Max. The mighty salmon, determined to swim upstream. And Beach Max, passionately swimming against the current of dining dullness. You think about a tender salmon filet, marinated in chili lime, grilled to perfection, then complemented by creamy chipotle sauce and warm fire-roasted corn. The bold beach mech spirit consumes you, and you decide that to honor the salmon, you too will swim against the tide. You jump out of bed, grab some scissors, ignore a lifetime of warnings, and cut off your mattress tag. Like Rubio's Salmon, you have zagged instead of zigged, and it's delicious. Savor the flavor of Rubio's Grilled Seafood, featuring the return of chili lime salmon for a limited time, at lunch, at dinner, and only at Rubio's.
Back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. One of the only times I was ever in shape in my life was when I was a freshman in high school, you know? Eddie. I love Wookiees. Sky. I don't know. Wait, wait. Boston Rob. What would you do for your Red Sox? I would do anything. And Ashley. I didn't even go to San Diego State. I did. I practically graduated. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. It's 9 o'clock on the button. And Taylor Hicks is going to be coming into the studio a little bit later on. Taylor Hicks won American Idol. Wow. Yeah. He was known as the Silver Fox. Sure. That's right. And he was the Soul Patrol. He beat your boy, Elliot Yameen. It really, that bummed me out. And I think that when he comes in, he'll admit it. I think he will. I think Taylor is a big enough guy to say, listen, he was better than me, should have won the show. I love him. I don't know. He'll say something similar to that. No, but Taylor was good. And he's really good. And he's coming in here. He's going to be in Greece this year at downtown, right? They're doing that thing downtown?
Yeah, at the Civic Theater. I'm going tonight. Are you really? Yep. That's cool. That's cool. So anyway, so we'll be seeing Taylor Hicks coming in here. Guys were asked what celebrities they would like to party with. Yeah, so I have three different categories. The first one is what, and I guess they don't put this in the question, but what female celebrity would you like to party with? Oh, what female celebrity? Yeah, they don't put that in the question, but all the answers are female. So I'm assuming on that one. Kate Hudson. Kate Beckinsale. No. Kate Hepburn. Cameron Diaz Drew Barrymore. What about Kate Hepburn? Rachel McAdams. Does she even look? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I want to answer real. I think Rachel McAdams would be high up there. Is she the girl from Enchanted? No, that's Amy Adams. That's Amy Adams. Is she on there? No. Jennifer Aniston? No, no, no. Number one will be Scarlett Johansson. Angelina? No. No? Mm-mm. I think you've got to think like wild and crazy. Sarah Silverman? Yeah. Reese Witherspoon. Give me one so I know what we're talking about. Drew Barrymore. She already said that. She already said it. We're the best, right? Number five is Lindsay Lohan. What? That's dumb. Okay, then it's going to be all the... Allegedly. Allegedly. Not allegedly. I would say probably Hillary Rodham Clinton. Oh, yeah. Obviously. Hillary Duck. Hillary Rod.
Well, if it's like that, then it's Britney and Paris and Lohan. Miley Siree. Miley Siree. Is Miley Siree on them? Melissa Gilbert. She's still making the list. Melissa Etheridge. Tracy Chapman. Tracy Morgan. What about that girl? Yeah, she's not. That's a man. Pink. Oh, come on. Who would it be? Who would it be? Real, real, real. Prince. Rob. What? Robert Matthew. Jenna Fisher. Oh, yeah, that's a good one. Isla Fisher. Isla. Who are we forgetting? I don't know. Give up on this one. Are they big names? Celebrity girls you guys would want to party with. Fergie. Julia Roberts. No. Tilda Swinton. Sarah Jessica Parker. Sally, Jessie, Raphael. What about Skye from The Mikey Show? Tyra Banks. Oprah.
Let me just tell you, and then we'll move to the next one. Are they not popular people? No, they are. They are? Are we really fond of Bullock? Give me one more. Okay, number four is Kim Kardashian. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. These are lame celebrities. Yeah, I get it. It's all that, you know, hip club. Okay, one of the chicks from The Hills. Oh, yeah. That was a good guess. She took pleasure in saying no. I said no before you even said the name. That was a good guess. Man. Let me just tell you. Oh, I know. Megan Fox. Take that and put it in your pipe. Megan Fox is number one getting over 40% of the vote. We win. Megan Fox, number one. Can we talk about that for a second, though? Because, like, okay, she's gorgeous. But, Eddie, talk to me, because she's gorgeous, but, like, why do you want to party with her? Because she's gorgeous. Is that it? She's just great to look at. It's all look cool on her shoulder. All right. Yeah. Number three was Penelope Cruz, and number two was Tina Fey. Okay, they all... Whoa, whoa. Tina Fey. Penelope Cruz and Tina Fey.
I don't want to party with Tina Fey. No way. It's funny. I would like to hang out with Tina Fey. Party? Nah. If this was a deal where people were thinking to themselves, if anybody ever had a question in their mind whether or not guys care about personality, that thing right there just says, no, all they care about is the way somebody looks. According to that. Okay. What guy celebrity would you want to hang out with as buddy? Justin Timberlake. Mr. Belvedere. Huge Jackman. George Clooney. George Clooney is number one. Johnny Depp. Vince Vaughn. Gordon Ramsay. Will Ferrell. Jack Black. The kid from Slumdog Millionaire. I'll tell you who's not on there, Mike. Patel. Dave Patel. David Patel. William Patel. Harrison Ford. Brad Pitt's not on there? Mark Hamill. Peter Mayhew. Mark Wahlberg. Mark Wahlberg. Mark Paul Gossler. Mark Wahlberg. Samuel Powers. Ben Affleck. Matt Damon. Give me another one, then. Sid Charisse. Number five is Jeremy Piven. Affleck. Whatever. I don't want to point it. See, isn't it all the dudes from Entourage? Just name all those actors. Oh, then that's stupid. Matt Damon. Matthew McConaughey. He'd be on my list, but no.
Helper Boy Randy. That's weird. Huge Jackman. Okay, can I tell you? No. Why are you so... She's not in a place. That is the one in a place. Macaulay Culkin. She hates everything. Is it because Eddie complimented you yesterday by feeling your bicep and saying, you're nasty? Is that why? Why? Is that why? You go to school, sir. And he walks over to this guy. He feels her bicep and he goes, ooh, you're nasty. I take it as a compliment. You are so awesome. That's awesome. Dr. Manhattan. Yeah. Oh, Dr. Phil. Eddie, you're a pervert. You are a pervert. I'm a pervert. Because I said the watchman guy. You love Dr. Manhattan. I want to party with that dude. He's naked and his junk is hanging out. What about Dr. Raj Kapal, who may be doing my surgery? That is weird. I don't know that. Ben Stiller. Eminem. Robert Downey Jr. Al Pacino. What about Al Roker? Al Kahuna. Give me another one. Is Jimmy Fallon on the list? Number four is Jay-Z. T.I. Denzel. I've partied with him. Why would you want to party with Jay-Z?
Because that would be fun, man. Get a couple drinks with him and just have them. Because they're rich. Diddy! You don't have to scream at him. Eddie suggested Diddy. Oh, you don't want to party with Diddy? Mark Twain! Okay, Rob. Leonard Nimoy. Can you imagine partying with both those guys? Leonard Nimoy and Mark Twain? Dude, I wouldn't be able to wake up for days. In the back of a Hummer limo. Where's my kidney? I'm in the bathtub. Oh, my gosh. Mike Myers. This guy, is Jimmy Fallon on the list? You've asked that seven times. Well, you haven't answered me. I think you got a secret crush on him. Have you answered me? No, he's not on the list. Oh, what's up now? Let's think of handsome, talented black men. Denzel Washington. I already guessed him. Morgan Freeman. Will Smith. What about Will Smith? Yeah. Oh, yeah, Will Smith. I would party with that dog. What about the dog from that movie where he was the last guy on earth to party with that dog? What the hell are you talking about? Remember? What was it? He's 14 days to live? I think Rob may have just come from the dentist. You don't remember that movie? No, I do. What is it called? Independence Day? Just tell me what it's called. Legend of the Seeker. Yeah, that's it. Legend of the Fall. I would party with the mannequin in the movie. Eddie.
I partied with that mannequin. It's not that cool. But I wasn't drinking anymore. Was he a mean drunk? The shark from Jaws. The mannequin was a mean drunk. The shark from Jaws. Can I just tell you so we can do the last part? You go inside the cage. He's drunk. This guy from Jaws. You go in the water. Sharks in the water. Shut up. Our shark. Dude. That's right. Start singing songs and stuff with him, dude. That's right. Oh, yeah. He'd have so many songs. There's that other favorite that everybody... Oh, what about that guy that sings that song? That was the story. Scarlett Johansson. It's a girl. No, have you heard the song? No, I haven't heard the song. No, you haven't heard the song, Sky, because that's clearly not... You'd be like, what really inspired you to write that? She's like, my brother. Falling down. He used to yell at me. Falling down. Poker champion, Daniel Negreanu. Ah, there it is. List over. Ta-da. All right, Scott, who's on there? Danny Gantz, Entertainer of the Year. Steve-O. 2007. So, you guys missed. 2007, Las Vegas. Tell me, that wouldn't be fun. Number three, Michael Phelps. And number two, Owen Wilson.
Owen Wilson and not Vince Vaughn. That's dumb. Okay. Owen Wilson and not Vince Vaughn. And our final list, we have two people on it, and these people are considered the biggest celebrity party poopers. It's a guy and it's a girl. Jennifer Aniston. No, Eddie. 100%. You leave her alone. She is a drag. Eddie's on Team Brangelina. I'm Team Brangelina. You're the worst team. I'm the spokesperson for Team Brangelina. That's right. Stupid. Brad and Angelina. No way, man. They're the best. These are party poopers? Party poopers. So people that poop at parties? Yes, Mike. Johnny Knoxville. Such a strange list. Steve-O. Steve-O. Yeah, obviously. Heath Ledger. Too soon. Eddie, wait. Would that be a party for soon? Wouldn't you be like bummed out? Let's take real guesses here. Christian Bale. Qui-Gon Jinn. Too soon. Too soon. Yes, too soon. Okay. You died at the... Sean Penn, dude. That's a good one. Great guess. Sky? No.
Way too much pleasure in that no. Well, I'll acknowledge you when you're correct. You are nasty. Oh, my gosh. I can't even believe what Ashley just said. Stop it. That is awful. Be Arthur. Skye? No. Don't say obviously. Obviously, no. Don't say obviously. I will acknowledge you when you're correct. Is there a person in the rap community? Who do you think you are? No. If it's not, then definitely probably Chet Atkins. For her comments on Beyonce. That sounded unfun. Beyonce. I'll agree with that. Beyonce. No. Yeah, it's going to be a diva. Mariah Carey. Julia Roberts. Oh, yeah. It's one girl and one guy. Sarah Jessica Parker. Yeah. You guys probably won't guess the guy because he's kind of off your radar, but the girl you should get.
You should get the girl. Who bums us out? Who is really uptight? Yes, Rob. Paris Hilton is the girl that people would not want to party with and consider her a party pooper. Oh, I love that. Really? I don't think she would be a party pooper. Oh, please. Really? I actually would like to hang out with Paris. No, bring in her dog. I think we'd have fun. I mean, I can't stand her, but... Well, yeah, why would you want to hang out with someone you can't stand? The only time I'd want to hang out with her is if we were partying. I get what you're saying. You know what I'm saying? Well, according to Paris herself, you know, if you're a guy, you're not really going to stand a chance with her at like a club or something like that. Oh, thanks. According to her. Sorry, Eddie. Sounds like fun. Which I'd like to play the audio of, but my computer's not cooperating with me. Well, way to go. Way to go, Mike. Let's see. Maybe I can. Play it. Late night with William Morris. The guy that invented cigarettes. Is talking to her here. Saying, are you, everything going alright? No, that was Philip Morris, sorry. William Wallace, I believe was his name. I'm doing really good. Is it difficult to find a nice man in L.A.? It's very difficult. Tell me about it, girl. If you want to be sexy and you're a girl, you accentuate your S's. That's the way you do it. It's good. It's good. If you meet someone in one of those clubs, how do you know if they're nice? Because you can't really see them and you can't really hear them. They could be... I don't really meet guys at clubs. That's not my type. They're usually like the biggest corn cheese balls, so I don't usually talk to guys at clubs. Then where do you meet them? At the laundrette perhaps? At the gym. The gym? I don't know. I'm just making that up. No, that's...
No, come on, you do. You look very healthy. Thank you. I know. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. I was going to say, you look healthy. At first when she said, I don't go to the gym, I thought to myself, yeah, whatever. But then I thought to myself, well, she doesn't need to. She probably owns a gym at her house. A home gym. She probably has a home gym. She could just go to any of the hotels. She's got Jimmy Fallon. She's got Jim Baker in her house. Jim Morrison. Jim Morrison. Jim Brewer. They're all there. They're all in the house. All right, who's the girl? The girl was Paris Hilton. And the guy is? The guy is, and the guy had more votes. Sigourney Weaver. No, Sigourney Weaver, Rob, is actually, that's a woman. What? Yeah. Oh, well, then Tom Skerritt. No, Eddie, that turns out that's a man. Tom Skerritt is a man. I know, we're guessing, man. So is that the man that's on the list? Is it Tom Skerritt? No. It is not. Oh, Tom Selleck. The guy got the most votes with 30% of the vote, Danny Bonaduce. Biggest party pooper is Danny Bonaduce. That must be awful to be on that list. Yeah, it's too bad. Let's see. We have to take...
Come on. Come on. I'm too much fun. Hey, dude, I got $50 Payway gift cards to give away. In fact, if... I'll take one. Yeah, you know what we'll do? What? With a Mikey moment. Hi, guys. It's Barbara calling in. You know that as a black woman, I can speak on this, okay? In the hood. Okay, first of all, Eddie. Stop it. You're such a hater. How's that the hood? It was the roughest side of Rancho Santa Fe. Yes, there is, Eddie. In the hood. We know how to multitask, okay? What do you mean? I mean, I'm driving right now while doing my taxes, painting mama's toes and drinking a 40. I'm multitasking. You're driving? Yes, I said he. Back to the Mikey Show on The Rock. Rock 105.3. This email's subject is nuggets come in tens. And it says, Mikey, just to let you know, McDonald's changed it a few years ago. Oh, well, hello then. They give you two tens.
For the 20 packs. So rather than make the employee think too much, they just change the nine-piece packs to the 10-piece packs. My kids love them. Just like Ashley. Have a good one. That's P1 Bones Rob. The subject line is McThievery. What? And it says, McDonald's tried to pull this on me too. I ordered a large yogurt parfait. Cost $2.49. I paid. Then when I got to the pickup window, they told me, quote, sorry, we don't have large parfaits today, unquote. Okay, no problem. Give me my money back. They said they could not do that. Hogwash. But would give me two small parfaits. Problem. Two small parfaits cost $2. Oh, it must be on the $0.99 value menu. Yeah, or whatever. Okay. Give me my $0.49 refund, please. Sorry, we.
Can't do that. What? Less yogurt, more money? Fraud! Total fraud. I know it. It says, I didn't call 911. I handled it myself. I refused to move forward in the drive-thru, though, until I got my money back. Voila! Suddenly, I got a refund. Nice work. I hate confrontation, but, quote, I want what I want. Sandwich like you want your sandwich. That's what I'm saying. Great show today. That's P1 Autism Mom. Oh, I love her. I love her. Yeah, I love her. Sweetest woman. So McDonald's did issue a statement regarding what happened to the woman in Florida not being able to get a refund over her McNuggets. They said this is an isolated incident. They apologized for it. And in the future. It's not isolated. Well, obviously not based on that email. Yeah, we're starting to see an epidemic.
But they said in the future, in the event that we're unable to fill an order, a customer should be offered the choice of a full refund or alternative menu items. So this woman will be sent her refund along with an arch card for a complimentary meal on them. Never heard of an arch card until this moment. In an interview with MSNBC, Larry Flint was asked about the Octomom. Nadia Suleiman, the Octomom, the woman who just had the eight babies. Yeah, and for those of you that don't know, Larry Flint has had a stroke. That's why his speech is messed up. The million-dollar offer to do adult entertainment, to do... Did you guys know this, by the way? Million-dollar offer to the Octomom. Million-dollar offer to do porno. Porn. Would you offer her that kind of cash? And what do you think about people trying to get her to do adult movies? No, and I don't believe the offer, quite frankly, but that young lady has a problem. I think most Americans would agree with me, and she doesn't deserve to be the mother of 14 kids. Wow. Anybody surprised? Yeah. Wow. Basically, Larry Flint is saying that. Listen, I think she's being taken advantage of if you do that. When Larry Flint...
passes judgment on you. It's bad. That's really bad. If Larry Flint thinks that you're morally corrupt, something's up. Wow. So yeah, there's Larry Flint on the Octomom and Porno. Says anybody that's doing that basically is taking advantage of her. How would you like a $50 gift certificate, gift card to Peiwe? Oh, that's so good. Peiwe. Thai mango chicken. That's what I'm saying. Now, The Mikey Show presents the search for the truth behind the words, the logic behind the lyrics. It's time to play Lyrical Gangster. I'm nervous. Mike, you've done this great twice now. What's the problem here? You great, bro. No, no, no, no. What we're dealing with here is called luck, okay? No, no. There have been a few times that we have played this game, and I've been able to... You are the optomom of games. No, Sky. Yeah, you've got this covered. Wait a second. This is like your 14th one, and you're like a pro. Here's the deal. We will play Lyrical Gangsta, and this is the way that the game is played. I, off the top of my head, will make up categories. What? Well, I... Do I have categories? Of course you do. Of course I do. Eddie, I'm right here. Are you ready? Let's do this. Here's how this works. I'd like to see him do it off the top of his head. All right, your categories are... That'd be fun. Women from movies that start with W. Okay, no.
Movies with Ralph Fiennes in them and songs that start with... Okay. All right, you ready? Yes. We get people on the line. We give them lyrical quizzes is what it comes down to. We just give them a quiz. It's a trivia question based on lyrics. And if they get it right, $50 payway card. It's pretty easy. We have three categories today. In the year 2000, songs from the 2000s, from the new millennium. We have songs from movie soundtracks, which I love. An 80s pop, the category that Sean used to love. Too soon. Too soon. So let's do this. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call if you want to play a little lyrical gangsta with us. A little bit later, we're going to be talking about what is on the front page of the UT today, which is that they have released the cockpit audio from the jet that crashed. in University City. And here is just a moment of it. Let me give you just a moment of it. About five minutes. We'll give you the rest of that audio. P1JMac, are you there? Not too much, dude. How you doing? You ready to play a little lyrical gangsta?
Yeah, I'll give it a shot. All right, dude, I'm going to give you three categories. Your categories are in the year 2000, songs from movie soundtracks and 80s pop. What do you want? Let's do a movie soundtrack. You got it. Nice. Your movie soundtrack question is in the song Georgia On My Mind from the movie Ray. He says, Georgia, Georgia, the whole day through, just an old, sweet what? I don't know. Oh, bro. Oh, it's just an old, sweet song. Of course it is. Oh, come on. Jamie Foxx. Oh, yeah. This is actually Jamie Foxx. Oh, that's right. It's from the soundtrack. Eddie is looking at Sky right now like, what is your problem? You are nasty. You are nasty. Can you not call me nasty? Sorry, J-Mac.
Sorry about that. Please. P1 Brittany's on the line. Hello, Brittany. Hello. How old are you? 25. What do you do for a living? I work in accounting. Does it feel like I am interrogating you? No, I don't care. I just want that. Then when was your last boyfriend? This is Brittany. Brittany, listen. I still have him. Okay, good. You could win. A $50 gift certificate to pay away if you are able to answer this question. So good. I'm going to give you three categories. Take me. Choose from 80s pop, songs from movie soundtracks, or in the year 2000. In the year 2000. You got it. Your in the year 2000 trivia question is, let's see, in the song Hemorrhage in My Hands by Fuel. Oh. He says, dead actors faking lines. Over and over and over again, she what? I don't know. That is a very hard one. She cries. She cries. You know what's funny, man? You listen to that and you think to yourself, man, back when they offered Daughtry that lead singer job, everybody thought he was the biggest dork and the dumbest guy in the world for passing up on that gig. And now, he's a trillion times bigger than that. A trillion, man.
I'm sorry, Brittany. I'm sorry about that one. That's okay. You can try again. Get in the way. You can try again. Sorry about that one. Let's talk to P1 Boise. How are you doing? Doing all right. How are you guys doing? Good, man. Boise, what do you do? I do construction. Right on. How old are you? I am 23. How would you like a free $50 Payway card to go eat at Payway? I am down. Let's do it. Fell for the woman just when I met who? I believe her. That is correct. This song gets me kind of... Horny? Well, yes, that's exactly what I was going to say. Eddie took the words right out of my mouth. Hey, Boise, you won a $50 gift card to pay with. That's what I'm talking about. Hang on. That's what I'm talking about, homie. That's right. It reminds me of summertime. It makes me excited. Summer's coming back. For whatever reason, that song reminds me of that. Yeah. P1.
Melissa. Hi, Melissa. Hello. What are you doing? I am actually on my way to a NA program. Oh, wow. Congratulations. Nice. Boy, that is different because of the A part of that. You're being honest. That's the good thing. That's right. Melissa, how old are you? I am 30. All right. And let's see. I'm going to give you three categories. Your categories are in the year 2000, songs from the 2000s, songs from movie soundtracks, or 80s pop. What do you want? I'm going to try the song from the movie soundtrack. Let's do it. In the song Maniac by Michael Cimbello from the movie Flashdance. That is great, Mike. The song Maniac from the movie Flashdance. He says, she's a maniac. Maniac. on the floor, and she's dancing like she's never what? Dance before. You got it. You got it, lady. Where is it? Play it, Mike. I found it. Oh, yeah. I'm really getting into it. Well, that's good. I'm going to pour water on you. That's right.
Very well done. I'm going to straddle a chair. Okay. She's already doing that. That's not fair. What is going on here? That's so weird. And then they pour water on you. That's right. And then your leg warmers are soaked. P1 for the squirrel is on the line right now. Yes. And P1 for the squirrel, are you there? What is that supposed to mean? What is that supposed to mean? Eddie, don't read into it. What is that supposed to mean? What is that supposed to mean? I wouldn't read into it. You're analyzing it. Is this a supporter of the squirrel? Hey. Listen. He says. No. No. See, bro? He had dead eyes. T1 for the squirrel. What do you do? What do I do? I'm looking to go into the Navy right now. Right on. That's a good thing to do. How old are you? Me? I'm 23. Could you use a $50 payway card? Yes, I could. Let's do this thing. Let's do this. What do you want? 80s pop songs from movie soundtracks are in the year 2000. Movie soundtracks. Let's do it. Taylor Hicks will be in here before we know it. Yes, sir. You do not have the benefit of seeing the yesterday email, only the thing that you wrote about yesterday, so I hope that you can sort of comfort Sky about the dream she had last night about her cat, Logan. A little carbonated. A little bit? Yeah, and it went all over the place. Oh, Rob. While we were on the air. He shakes it on purpose. I was thinking that. Duh. No, I'm sprinting. Yeah. At close to the speed of light. No. That's why. Not at all. Not even. I'm sure you are. Super fast. Sounds like you. Nickname the Flash. Sounds like you. Anyway. Anyway, would you like to go to the... Premiere in Los Angeles for the movie Fast and Furious. It's going to be at the Gibson Theater. Fancy. That's right. Yeah, like I ate his levery and a nice canty. Some fava beans. My cousin used to drive a cab. And if you're driving like a town car, like a Lincoln or something, on this... He dies. Dude. I had a huge family back then. My cousin did this. My cousin did that. Hey, what's up? No, no, no. And on the license plate, it's a mess. You know, if you're driving. If you're driving. Talking about Iraq. He's like, yeah, I had a cousin that was a dictator. My cousin's Iraq. My cousin's a country of Iraq. No, and on the license plate, at the very bottom, it says livery. Yeah. It's like a license plate. No, it's like driving. Yeah, it's like a delivery. It's like a fancy word. It's like cobbler. It's a shoemaker. Mike didn't know that. That's a dessert. I had to tell him.
Don't bring that up again. That was so annoying. Mike, you don't know what a cobbler is? I'm like, yes, I do know what a cobbler is. Dude, they fix shoes. I know, Rob. I can't believe you don't know that, Mike. Are we ready for Taylor Hicks? Is he ready? He should be here in a couple minutes. We're going to be talking to Taylor Hicks. Taylor Hicks, as you know, was the winner of American Idol. Here we go. The winner of American Idol season five is... Who is it? Catherine McPhee. Catherine McPhee. Is it Catherine McPhee? Oh, it's not Catherine McPhee. Taylor Hicks won. Ashley. Well, everybody thought it was going to be Catherine McPhee. I wanted it to be Taylor Hicks. I voted for him. I actually called, dialed, voted for Taylor Hicks. I did. I wanted Elliot Yameen. Not a joke. Mike cried when Elliot Yameen was voted for him. He did. He did. That's nasty. I want to hear Taylor sing. Sure. This is what they made him sing. Do they do that every time? Here's her first single that we're going to force on you. And can I tell you this too? The thing is, is that I would rather a woman win American Idol because then you get the pageant thing where they're crying and singing at the same time. While David Cook was a little girly.
He's pretty androgynous. Did he do that? He had some tears. So he was singing. Rob calls him queer tears. That's inappropriate. It's pretty inappropriate. But it's true. Well, there it is. Well, he's not with the label anymore, so we could ask him, like, did you want to sing that song? Or did they force you to sing it? Like, all that kind of stuff? Percentage of chance, Taylor Hicks will be completely forthcoming. With his answers about the TV show American Idol. Wow. That is a question of questions. I will say 38%. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say 62%. Oh, wow. Austin Robb. 6%. Wow. Ashley. I got to go right down the middle and say 50%. What did you say, Sky? Way to commit. Does anybody remember a walk and talk we took yesterday? How soon we forget. Coming to a water balloon fight with a machete, I see. Yeah, yeah. That old saying. It's that old hackneyed phrase. I don't know what that means. Yeah. You know, like we were just trying to throw some water balloons around.
And you chopped my face off. And you came here and chopped me up. Oh, coming to a pillow fight with a samurai sword, I see. Okay. You guys know that phrase? All right, I get it now. I've heard it so many times. Yeah, that's a good one. Here we are. Here we are. We're supposed to be hitting each other with pillows. Yeah. And look at Ginsu Naive with the samurai sword here. Except for you. She's fun. Oh. All right. No more. Don't you. Don't. You're coming to a tickle fight with a. What? With a nine millimeter. Nine millimeter. A tickle fight, by the way. Well, they happen often. Get it now? A tickle fight with a nine millimeter. Well, a tickle fight's kind of for fun. You know, you're not really. Get it now? All right, fine. Wow, she showed us. I'm not going to deal with this. No more tickle fights. So Skye had a really bad night. It was a horrible night, bro. Oh, no. It was the worst. Eddie just shook his head, no, we won't do it. It was the worst. It was the worst, you guys. Sky has crazy dreams and remembers all of them. I do. With vivid details. I do. I do. And last night, I can't even. Was it super real? It was super real and, like, so upsetting. Yeah. And you, like, couldn't get out of it? Like, devastating. What happened to your cat, Logan, in the dreams, Sky? Well, Logan had, like, this weird cut-like thing on him.
In the dream. In the dream. And so I'm telling my mom that I'm going to take him to the vet. And then my mom's telling me that she had noticed it and she talked to her friend about it. And that I don't need to take him to the vet because her friend said that basically it's this certain thing. And Logan has about 48 hours to live. Oh, my gosh. Oh, mom, that is so inappropriate. That is awful. So. I basically spend my last moments with Logan, and I want to take pictures before he dies. Oh, shoot. But I have some sort of camera that's like a promotional camera. And so, like, when you take a picture, it, like, puts a face on it. So I'm trying to jimmy-rig it so, like, it's just a normal camera. You don't want a funny face on Logan in his last days. Right? And while I'm trying to work on the camera, Logan passes away. Spider things roll out, and it was really scary. And I woke up and I cried. You're going to make Taylor cry. I was crying, and then I had to get out of bed and go get my cat and bring him into bed at like 1 o'clock in the morning. Look at that handsome haircut. That's fantastic.
Look at this one. You get showered with compliments on your hair right off the bat. Oh, yeah. Well, you look good. It's a dapper. It's a dapper. Taylor Hicks is in the studio, you guys. How about this? How about this? Okay, yeah. Your biggest fan. I'm not kidding. She's throwing what they call in the South a come apart. I voted for you, and I'm not kidding. Multiple times. The girl behind you, she voted for you multiple times. You don't have to give him a standing ovation. It's an honor and privilege. It's okay. You can sit down. Honor and privilege. Listen. I don't mean to be no on eight here, but I'm telling you that Taylor Hicks, he's a handsome looking guy. He looks good. He's hitting on the man when he walks in the door. Come on, he's our guest. Look it, he's very in shape, he's tan, and he looks good. He's got like the Clooney haircut, kind of. I'm sorry. Kind of, right? Kind of. It's kind of Clooney-ish. Taylor, man, dude, we got about a billion questions for us. First of all, let's tell people right off the bat that Taylor Hicks is going to be starring as Teen Angel in Greece, the national tour, which Sky is going to tonight. I'm going tonight. Got my tickets. When that giant bra comes throwing on stage at you. It's not that giant. It's giant. Well, now we know what size it is, right? Giant. That's right. That's right. That's your job. Everybody.
Avalanche. Avalanche? Sense, bro. Okay, let's all grow up. Anyway, Greece. Yeah, tonight. So, yeah, he's in Greece. Taylor Hicks is in Greece. And you remember Taylor Hicks from American Idol. He won American Idol in season five. And it was he and Catherine McPhee. Came down to him and Catherine McPhee. And what? That rhymed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He and Catherine McPhee. He and Catherine McPhee. And he won. and performed this song. I am getting freaked out. I don't blame you. It's okay. We're apart from glass. It's security glass. Is it bulletproof? Do they make bulletproof glasses on the channel here? I would not put it past her to halfway through the interview stand up with a pistol. That's fantastic.
So in 06, Taylor wins, fifth season, American Idol, 63.4 million viewers. Million votes, actually. 63 million votes. That's crazy. Taylor, does that freak you out, man? Yeah. 63 million votes? More than Ashley? About the same level. Yeah, about equal. 63 million votes, man. That's pretty cool. You had a following, dude. Yeah, that's an amazing number, isn't it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Even now, do you still... Because you called your group of fans the Soul Patrol. Yeah. Does it exist anymore? Oh, they're still around. I'm still here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So there's still a Soul Patrol. Oh, yeah. And they follow you, and they're big fans of yours. They're kind of like the Parrot Heads with Jimmy Buffett. Nice. There you go. They're like grilling outside. That's sweet. They're like the Grateful Deadheads. I love it. I mean, to have that kind of fan base, you know, it's... It's a special thing, you know. And if you cultivate it the right way, you can really stay in the game for a while. Taylor, where are you from? Alabama. Alabama. And so where did you, because we're going to, I want to follow you through the whole thing. And we'll work our way up to Greece. But when you auditioned, did you audition in Birmingham? Vegas. In Vegas? Yeah. So you flew out to Vegas. Why Vegas? Well, interestingly enough, I was one of the last cab rides out of Katrina.
And Southwest gave me a free ticket anywhere in the country. And I was like, you know what? I'm going to go try Las Vegas. And my brother called me at midnight and said, you know, you're in Las Vegas. Did you win any money gambling? And I said, of course not. And he said, I don't try out. So they're there at four o'clock a.m. I was like, really? He's like, yeah, you need to go down there. And I was like, all right. So I walked in four hours later and won. Wow. That's cool, dude. That's way. I can't believe it. That is amazing. And that's a true story. He walked in four hours later and he made it to Hollywood. And then he won the whole show. Dang. I mean, that's a stupid question. I'm going to ask it anyway. Does it feel surreal that this all happened? You know, it does sometimes. You know, it's amazing the people that you meet, the people that you talk to, the phone numbers that you get. Hello. You know, it's, you know, I just, you know, I do. I'm very thankful for it. You know, I spent a lot of years working as an entertainer, musician. You know, since I was about 17, I hit the road. And, you know, I've been on the road for three and a half years, actually. And basically since right after I won American Idol, I've been continuously on the road touring, whether here. And I did some work in Southeast Asia for a while touring there. So it's pretty crazy.
Pretty crazy. What can you tell us about the producers and what the producers have to do with the show behind the scenes that we don't know? Well, I think a lot of people don't realize that the two and a half minutes that you see on television doesn't really compare to the 64 hours worth of work. It's like there's a lot of stuff that goes in to the two and a half minutes, whether it's learning your song. But then you do, you know, you do B-roll footage and stuff. So it's a really grueling process. But the one thing that... What is B-roll footage? Because before that day in Vegas, I bet you didn't know what B-roll footage was. What is it? I didn't really know, you know, what that was. You know, it's where they just, you know, take, you know, film. You know, they record you on film doing whatever and they use it for... You know, different parts that they catch you doing something. Right. They play those little intros before you sing. So, you know, what it reminded me of is like Howl on like 2010. You know, where there's like following you around with this red eye. And you get really comfortable with it after a while. You know, it's just there. Yeah. So, tell me about the producers. What do we not know? What is it like behind the scenes with those producers? Well, I never saw, you know, they, you know.
They really do a good job of keeping us away from all the judges and everything. That idea of really having a true contest, they do a good job of that. That's one thing that's really cool about the show is that they keep the judges at bay. So you're not partying with Paula or anything like that? No. I heard that's a good time. Not when the show's going on. At that time, you're just trying to get through it. You do get lost. It's an interesting thing because you become famous. You don't become famous by yourself. You become famous with other people. So it's kind of a communal thing. It's interesting to watch how people deal with fame as it's happening to them. Kind of interesting. Yeah. You know, it's like weird. Yeah. What do you mean? Well, it's just weird. You know, it's like, you know, these people like, you know, all of a sudden your life is becoming public, you know, and you're, you know, you're in your 20s and or sometimes even in your teens and you're with somebody else. And it's interesting to watch how they react to it as it's happening because it doesn't happen to many people. And it's very interesting that that whole process, you know. What did you like the least about the experience? Well.
I guess the least – I love every bit of it, you know, performing, writing, singing stuff. But then, you know, you're talking about when you get exposed, I guess, you know, your family becomes exposed too. And that's kind of – you know, it's really not – you understand when you get into this thing and you perform. And when you catch that break, you know, it's – pretty standard to, for your life to become an open book. But, you know, some of the things that happen off of that with your family having their books open, it's, that's, that's one thing that's kind of, yeah, that would be tough. Yeah. You know, cause it's not about them, you know, it's about you and you can, you can handle that. But once you're, you know, once you're like grandma starts getting bugged and like, you know, and you're like, and your brothers and your sisters and, you know, it's kind of, this kind of an interesting thing, but you know, all in all, It's worth it, right? It is worth it. I get to tour the country and hang out with you guys. We're pretty awesome. Dude, I've been here for about 12 hours now, and I'm having a blast already. I love San Diego. Great vibe. And your quarterback, Phillip Rivers, from Decatur, Alabama. Is he really? Come on! He went to college. Don't ask me. Don't look at me, Taylor.
Charger poster behind. We're the flagship station. You'd think we'd know that. I knew that, Taylor. Ashley knew it. I knew that, Taylor, and that's really all that matters. You know what? I'm just going to have to go behind the bulletproof glass. Please do. It's your life, bro. Please do. I won't bite. Is he coming to Greece? Maybe. Taylor Hicks is Teen Angel in the Greece National Tour. You go see him. It's where? At the San Diego Civic Theater. There you go. Sky says the word theater kind of odd. Weird. You're going to be a belly up too, right? Yeah, I'm going to be a belly up. Yeah, I've flown the band in. I've got my organ player play with Clapton for a good while. Wow. Really cool. players on my record man abel boreal jr who uh who has played with mccartney and doyle bramwell basically i know who that is dude that's the dude from uh archangels yeah archangels yeah dude that's a awesome he's in your band yeah he well he was one of that i have one of that guy's solo albums yeah he well i went into the studio and i sat down and simon climby who did you know some bb king work and eric work and jj kale stuff yeah um
We decided on players and stuff, and we started sending music out, and these guys actually were like, all right, we're going to come in and play. And I looked around the room, and it was like an Eric Clapton DVD minus Eric Clapton at Taylor Hicks. That's awful. I mean, it was like one of those moments, you know, like, again, that you have that you're just very thankful for that. When are you at Belly Up? Tomorrow night. Sweet. And I've got some really heavy-hitting players playing with me. It's going to be great. I'm pretty stoked about it. Dude, I want to go to that. Yeah, that sounds like fun. Well. Yeah, you should. I mean, you know, I think you get to see a music. You know, a lot of people see me as like, you know, the American Idol guy and the funky dancing and stuff. But, I mean, you know, I'm a pretty serious musician when you get right down to the core of it. Yeah, that's awesome. What kind of stuff? It's like Americana, you know. I mean, I come from Alabama, you know, where there's a lot of influence. There's a little bit of country, R&B, rock, you know, some gospel. I mean, I just. I look at it like it's a Van Morrison meets, you know, John Cougar Mellencamp. You know, just that really kind of a... That's cool. Kind of an edgy rock or, you know, a little bit of rock, you know, oriented. A little edgy. I'm friends with a band called Third Day from Georgia, and your guys' accents are so similar. The accent between Georgia and Alabama is so similar, man. It's like hearing those guys. It's like syrup.
Yeah, Dan. Hey, listen, Taylor, thanks for coming in, man. We appreciate it. I've had fun. We know you've got some other stations to do and everything, but I appreciate you coming in. And you can see them in the Grease National Tour. It's here in town. And Sky's going tonight. Oh, I'm so excited. Yeah, so cool. I'll wave to you. You're going to love it. Yeah, you wave back to me, okay? I will. Thank you, Taylor. Yeah, thanks, guys. Yeah, we appreciate it. You're the best. That's Taylor Hicks, ladies and gentlemen. And you can go see him at the Grease. National tour. And belly up tomorrow. I think you're going to be on around 11, I think. Something like that. 10? Oh. Cool. Yeah, it's definitely. Fun times. Thanks, guys. Thanks, man. See you later. Bye. Bye. Thank you. It's Thursday, 11. Yeah. We go to bed early. Soul Patrol. Bye. Bye. Bye. Ashley. Ashley. Oh, we didn't get him for the after show, right? Or do we get him for it? I think he's leaving. Yeah. Is he really? I know he was rushed out of here. He's got a TV thing. Oh. We got to go, too. You got to go. You do. You are. 570-1053. Wasn't that special or what, guys? Ashley really enjoyed that. Ashley, interview him as he's walking out. Yeah. Where is he going? I don't know. I don't know. Go follow him. Just be creepy. Tell Rob. Let me tell you something. She's crazy. That kid's fearless, man. She doesn't care. Yeah.
Like she just got up and ran out there with no hesitation. There was no prompting her as soon as we, it was almost like we gave her the okay. Yeah. Go stalk him. Okay. Okay. She's doing it right now. This is awesome. Where is she? They're walking out and she's being, she's interviewing him. Look at everybody in his entourage is shaking their heads and smiling. That is great. She is my fave. She's a nut. Yeah. All right. 5701053 is our phone number. Give us a call beginning and end of every show. We do open phone things so you can call us and talk about anything you want to. Great show today. You're welcome. Every time, Rob. Jay Dobbins, the guy that infiltrated the Hells Angels came on. Harry and Carrie were on today. Yeah, they're best friends. Yeah, Harry, Carrie, and Carrie Underwood. The Squirrel. The Squirrel called in. The Squirrel. That's right. Taylor Hicks was just in. All in all, it's a very good show today. He was very dapper. That's right. He was very dapper. Mikey show. Mikey show. This is Mikey. Yeah. What's up, man? Hey, Mikey. You won't believe it. We go to Disneyland a lot. And like almost next door, there's this hotel and it's got a restaurant next to it. The restaurant's name is Kia. Kia. That's awesome. Dude, next time you're there, get a picture.
Yeah, and spray paint a Z at the end of it. I think that's illegal, Eddie. Thanks, brother. Mikey Show. Hey, how you doing? I want to talk about how unfunny Jimmy Fallon is. Oh, no. Tell your friends what you're doing. Hey, it just got nothing to do with me. Is this his brother Gabe? It's my cousin. Agree. Agree. See you there, man. He's so unfunny. I mean, he's the most unfunniest person in the world. Thank you for the call. We appreciate it. Mikey show. Hey now, how you doing? Good. Hey, I just wanted to mention, I don't know if anybody told you that when you guys were talking about that, uh, that jet, the, uh, the, the sound, you know, the sound bite from it. Yeah. That, uh, I heard the, the person at North Island. Tell him, you're about 20 minutes out. And he's like, okay, well, how much gas do you have? And he's like, well, I have about 20 to 30 minutes of fuel left in my bed. Yeah. Where'd you hear that? I could have sworn I heard it this morning. Yeah. When we played it? Yeah. You guys came on and you guys played that little sound clip. Yeah. No, that wasn't us. Well, no, I think it's in the audience. It was in the audience. Where he says, I got 20 minutes left? He said, I think I got about 20, 30 minutes. Let's take a listen.
Seat, emergency aircraft, about 20 miles south of North Island. 325 roger, and they didn't give me any information. Soles on board, fuel remaining in time, nature of emergency. Yes, sir, one sole on board. I've got not a single engine dirty. Possibly a problem with the other engine. Time, fuel remaining about 20 to 30 minutes. There it is. Wow. Now, I believe he's talking to a civilian in that, because the paper says that the civilians were the ones that were telling him to go to. Yeah, the FF. The FAA. The FAA was telling him to go to North Island. Military was telling him to go to Miramar. That's crazy. If at that point he's 20 miles south of Coronado and he's acknowledging that he's only got about 20 miles of gas left. That don't make sense. But he wants to go to Miramar. That don't make sense, right? Yeah. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Mikey Show. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home.
Hey, how you doing, Mikey? Good, man. I have two questions for you real fast. The first one is, did you happen to go to the Rock concert last night at the Rock? No. Was there a concert there? Yeah, there was, I don't know if you know who it is, just a Christian singer, Chris Tomlin. I've heard of Chris Tomlin, yeah. Yeah, yeah, he was there, and it was really cool. I'd never seen a church. It's enormous, and it was a really cool concert. I was hoping to see you there. Aw, dude, I go to North Coast Church up in Vista now, but I love The Rock. The Rock's a great church, man, and yeah, that building is gorgeous. Ah, beautiful. Yeah, it's pretty cool. And then the second question real fast is, are you giving away more pay-away tickets tomorrow? Pay-away? Yeah, we should have some more. Did we give them all away? Are they all done? We'll check on it. Give us some time. Let's see what we can do, and maybe we'll give away some more tomorrow, bro. All right, cool. Thanks, man. All right, brother, thanks. Lovely Anton and Nancy is up next. And today. On the nooner, it's the all-request lunch. So you can call in, tell her what you want to hear. She'll get it on the air for you. And we'll come back here tomorrow, and we'll do this all over again. We'll probably be talking to Michael Jackson. He's got a big announcement he's supposed to make from London tomorrow. So we'll find out. Rocky Show is out.
