6-0-7. Just after being inaugurated yesterday, the new governor of New York admitted to having an affair a few years ago. The USD women found out who they're going to play in the women's tournament. They're going to play Cal. Well, good morning, every Bubba. It was this Tuesday. We're just another step closer to being out there at K-1 speed on Friday. Yeah. Have everybody come out there and hang out with us at K1 Speed in Carlsbad. We were out there before, and I just love the place. Loved it. And so we'd love to see everybody come out there and join us. Our phone number here is 570-1053. My talk friend, please. Which friend? Which friend are we talking about? A friend in the cooter. Oh, my goodness. Okay, I just saw. What is up with this new thing of...
Hey, we're going to mess with you in the minute. I don't know, but every time I look over at Sean now, morning on the camera, he has got some new weird position. Now he's upside down. What? Now he's upside down. Hanging like a bat. I don't know what you guys are talking about. It's the same thing. Right. Right. I don't change. Why would I bother? It's like he's in the Sean cave. Right. Welcome to the program, everybody. Again, 5701053. We're going to put you on hold if you call. And I'll get to your phone calls here in just a second. The beginning and end of every show, we open the phones up to he wants to be able to talk about anything they want. What's wrong with her? She's looking in the camera there. It's Sean. Sean is not in front of us here in the studio. He's in the Bay Area. He's in San Francisco. Yeah, I know. We look at him on camera. I want to check you're in there.
Sounds like something's wrong. Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure. Well, welcome everybody. It's a very famous day. The day after the St. Patrick's Day. Oh. The 18th, you know. I don't know that anybody celebrates this one in a particular way. National Hangover Day. That's right. You think there were a lot of people partying last night? Oh, yeah. I think so. Can you believe it? On a Monday, too. Anyway, here's what we do. There's seven people on the show. That's a lot of people. I'm the host of the program. My name's Mikey. And then there are six others. There's Eddie, Sky, Sean, Ashley, Rob, and Zeth. And we call him B-Rob. Stands for Boston Rob. He's actually from Boston, and he loves everything Boston. Yes. He's a young guy. He's 25, but he loves everything about that city. He's got...
Boston tattooed on his neck. Except for the weather. He doesn't like the weather. That's why he came here, right? Yeah. He went to college in Hawaii. For a year. Wow. That's right. Lived in Oahu. And fell in love with Hawaiian food. And then did you go back to Boston and come here? Or how did it work out? Yeah, I was back in Boston. How long? Three years. Plowing every winter. That does not sound fun. Nope. All right, so let's go around the room. We'll tell you a little bit about us. We'll introduce everybody. We like to tell you how old we are so that you kind of get a feel, if you're new listening to the show, you kind of get a feeling of who you're listening to. So my name is Mikey. I'm the host. I'm 37. And yesterday I was real excited about St. Patrick's Day. I talked my wife into corned beef and cabbage. Oh, ew. First I had to find a place that was doing it.
the old California mining company, so I thought maybe they're doing a special. Sometimes the places will do a special. I called, they said, no. Then I tried this place called Penny Lane. It's like an English pub, but they said, oh yeah, we're doing it up here. I said, what about kids? I said, I have a little one. He's a year and a half old. He goes, oh yeah, he'll be fine. They're not going to get rowdy around this place until dark. It'll be fine. He said, we're even going to have bagpipe players coming in in an hour and it should be cool. I said, all right. So I tell Rebecca, Rebecca's my wife. She says, yeah, that sounds good. Let's go. So we pack the boy up. We go over there. We walk in. He hears the bagpipes and begins to cry. And I don't blame him.
It's loud. Yeah, it's very loud. It's a sound he's never heard before. Sound he's never heard. And it's kind of an eerie sound, really. That's the offensive. And so, you know, there was something inside me that felt a little creeped out by it, too. And so I could understand where he was coming from. As an adult, I am able to rationalize that those bagpipes are a traditional instrument. of a country but as a little kid you can't it just sounds like this weird evil loud sound stop because it's creeping me out and it really upset him to like the point of tears you know like he was upset it really upset him and so I said okay well we're leaving yeah there you go Jake what do you think buddy isn't that sweet isn't that sound just relaxing Yeah, doesn't that just bring a serene calm over you, son? It's practically a lullaby. Yeah. Yeah. So we just said, forget it. And we went to traditional Mexican. Oh. You know, traditional Mexican St. Paddy's Day. Mexican. That's true. There you go. That's true. And when we came out of the restaurant, a P1 came up and said that he saw me walk out and he introduced himself and he was really nice.
That was really cool. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 34 years old. And did you do your corned beef and cabbage, Eddie? Yes, we did. Did your wife make it? I kind of made it. But she did all the sides, like the cabbage and the potatoes and the carrots and all that good stuff. But yeah, it was my first corned beef. It's so easy. It's like the easiest thing I've ever made. What do you do? You just throw it in a pot of water, basically, and just let it boil. Really? Yeah, I mean, they got like a flavor packet it comes with. Really? Yeah. You can get them at the store. Dude, it's the easiest thing. You would be able to do it easily. Is it like around this time of year, do they sell like a little kit? Is that how it works? They do it all the time, year-round. Year-round. Go to your meat section and look for corned beef, and basically all you do is you put it in a pot, Fat side up. You sprinkle this packet over it. You cover it in water. You bring it to a boil. When it goes to a boil, cover it and simmer it for like three hours and you're good. Come on. That's it. Nothing else. Dude. It's the easiest thing I've ever done. Now, when it's done, do you drain all the water out? Yes. Well, you take it out of the water. Take it out. And then just carve it up. And is it like, I know this sounds ridiculous because I don't know.
But is it like, do you take a fork and it's like pulled pork and you kind of pull it? You can do it that way if you want sandwiches. I just slice it. Yeah? Just slices of corned beef. And then the cabbage, how do you do that? How's that prepared? You just boil it. And then, you know, if you want to put like butter and salt and pepper on it, you know, that tastes real good to me. Do you do the cabbage in the water that the stuff is boiling in? No, she did it separately. She put the cabbage. The potatoes, you know, like cut them up. Right. And like those baby carrots and put them all in a pot and just basically boiled them. And whatever seasoning you want? Yeah. Well, and the way we do it is we take all that same stuff, but we throw it in with the corned beef for like the last half hour. Oh, nice. And then just have them all cooked together. You could do that. And then you drain. Put it all in a crock pot. Yeah. Then you drain everything. Yeah. And then you just. Grub it. Grub it up. It's so easy. Get out. Do you guys put anything in with that cabbage? It's just corned beef and cabbage straight. It's not like. carrots or anything like that, right? I had carrots and potatoes. Yeah, I had carrots and potatoes and cabbage and onion. I'm doing it next time. My wife likes it. I found out yesterday that she actually likes it. She said her mom makes it and she likes it. There are probably a bunch on sale right now. Nice. So, you guys made your corned beef and cabbage.
What else? Anything else? Well, my wife is Irish. Very Irish. And she also likes to give presents. Aww. Cute. And so, you know, I've been with her for three years now, and so I know this about her. Now, is that a family thing, or is that an Irish thing? No, it's her thing. It's her thing. It's her thing. Yeah, she likes to give little presents out, you know, like for every... little holiday or whatever and i know this about her like the first year i was with her i was like whoa you're giving me a present on saint patrick's day and there's nothing crazy it's just like little goofy stuff and like yesterday uh i knew it was i knew it was coming and so you know i got home and she likes to surprise me and so i i get this bag of like all green little goodies so it's like You know, green, the Salsa Verde Doritos, which are green. Mike and Ike's, which are green. You know, experiment gum. You know where I'm going. That was cool. So it was really, really sweet. You know what I mean? It's just how she likes to do. But I knew what was going on. Oh, what's up? And I wouldn't let her outgift me. What's up? What did you do? So I snagged her. She likes to decorate, you know, on the holidays. And so I had seen, saw these.
like, St. Patrick's Day wall decorations, you know, like, that you can hang up. And so I snagged her two of them and wrapped them up and gave them to her when she got home. And she was, like, the happiest little Irish. Little Irish jig. Little Irish laugh. That's nice. That's very cool. But I'm like, this better not, like, this is getting out of hand. I'm like, dude, you know, because Easter's coming up and we always get each other Easter stuff. And I'm like, you know, I'm... Hoping kids come around soon because then I don't have to worry about it. Deal with the kids and we don't have to. I haven't talked to Rebecca about Easter this year. I wonder if she's going to want to do an Easter egg hunt. Oh, for sure. Come on. Jake's ready, man. I don't know. He's running around. He is running around, but he doesn't know that he's. You teach him. How do you... Bring them around to the... Say, hey, here's an egg. Oh, let's look for the eggs. Yeah. And you show what's inside. He'd be like, what? Where's the next one? Yeah. All right. Gotta do it. Skye is our news girl. Yeah. She's 30 years old. She makes a mean corned beef and cabbage. Well, she's Irish. Well, yes, I have in the past. Yes. But there was a bit of a fiasco. You said it was... You were making it. Well, yeah.
Well, yeah, it was really nice. And then I was like, gosh, I'm so tired. I'd like to take a nap. So I wrote Bunny Boo the specific instructions. Said I'll be up at this time to finish it. All you need to do is get the water to boil, turn it down to a simmer, and then I'll deal with the rest of it. Yeah, got up from the nap and sitting just in a pot of water. The heat is on, but there's no simmering going on. He, like, put it all the way on low. Thinking that low is simmer. Well, it should be. But it wasn't because it was a really big, big pot. So simmer needs to be higher than low. I guess so. Because isn't simmer when you have just tiny little bubbles and it's filled with steam? Yeah. No. It would just look like a pan of water. Yeah. And it didn't have any... You would think that it would heat up. And he didn't completely cover it either. He left it cracked. For some reason, so... What happened? How was it? Did it come out right? Well, the time it was to take it out, it was, like, so tough and hard. Oh.
And I didn't know if it had already been messed up beyond, you know, salvaging at that point or maybe just cooking it longer. So I cranked up the heat and did another half hour. And I mean, we didn't end up eating till like 745 last night. And it still wasn't what it should have been. Okay. So we'll try again next year. Let's discuss. I've got to stop eating. Don't throw that away. Just bring it in tomorrow and I'll take it home and I'll throw it back in the water. Everybody listening, one more time we're going to review this because I want to know it from my review too. But Eddie says, take this thing, stick it in a pot. You got to put the fat side up. Fat side up. Take the little flavor packet. Sprinkle it over it. Fill it. Fill not the whole pot, but over the corned beef. About how far over the corned beef? A couple inches? A couple inches. Just enough to cover. You know, some of the water is going to evaporate, so you want to make sure you're covered. And then a little bit more. And then you bring it to a boil. Once you're done boiling it, then you put it down to a simmer and you cover it. Now, when it starts boiling, do you let it sit there and boil for a while? Or once you see it boil, turn it down? Yeah, I mean, it's up to you. It's up to your preference. And then you turn it down, simmer it for three hours, you're good. Yeah, it should be. Depends on what size it is. How big was this sucker, Sky?
Mine was three and a half pounds, so three hours is what we needed of a simmer. Three hours of a simmer. Stop being so mean to your husband. How am I being mean? How am I being mean? He didn't know. I didn't say anything. You probably weren't clear with your directions. I didn't say anything. I wish I could taste it. Except wrote down simmer. He did. He put it on low. That's what you do. How dare he? Did you say, this does not look like a simmer to me. And then we had the discussion of low. He believes low is a simmer. And then I said, well, and why is the top not all the way on? When you looked inside, was there little bubbles coming up? No. Nothing. No. That's not good. Your stove is jacked. That is not a simmer. My stove is jacked. Well, usually once you get it boiling, right, you can turn it down to low and it goes. Yeah, you can get a simmer out of that. You should have a simmer out of that. Yeah, you should. Did he boil it first? He said he did. I'm sure you were really cool about it, though. I was. Yeah. I was. I just went ahead making my veggies, and those were delish. Nice. And there was no attitude at all. No. Nope. He didn't even know that there was anything wrong. Nope. I was good. I swear. Shawnee, oh boy, he's my age, but he isn't my age for long. He's 37 right now. He just eluded you. But in just a couple of weeks.
He'll be celebrating his 38th birthday. My mom's going to be here. She is? Is she coming in for it? Let's talk about it. Is she... Are you guys planning, like, a birthday party for you or anything? No, not really. It just so happened that she's going to be in town. She's got some business to take care of. I think I'll be in town, too. Whoa. Is that right, Eddie? Are you going there, too? Yeah. I have business to take care of in San Jose. I see. And I will be making my arrangements. All right. Okay. Easy. Weird. Ashley is our assistant producer. She is 24 years old. She has blonde hair. It looks like it's growing. Are you letting your hair get long? Yeah. You are? How long are you going to let it? I don't necessarily have a specific length. I'm just letting it grow. Yeah, it's past her shoulders now. I mean, it's like a good four inches past your shoulders now. Gorgeous. It's gorgeous. Boston Rob is our phone screener. He's also a singer-songwriter. And has done a ton of parody songs for the Mikey Show. And he's an alright guy. Yesterday...
Back in the office, he was, you know, him and Eddie were yelling at each other about M. Night Shyamalan. Well, you know, after the big debate on the air, we went back and I downloaded the Happening trailer, which gave me goosebumps. It looked crazy. Sky watched it with us and she thought it was cool. New M. Night. New M. Night's called The Happening. The Happening. And Rob then proceeded to infuriate me when me and Scott were like, whoa, that's crazy. And Rob's like, yeah, that looks stupid. Oh. He's just doing it too. Come on, Rob. You don't want to see the movie, The Happening. Dude, I said it back in the office. I'd rather feed my grandmother oatmeal than wash it. All right? You know what? So stupid. Right after I seen that stupid thing. Come on, Grandma. Open wide, Nana. One more bite. Come on. In the mouth. Stupid. Watch that stupid movie. Crazy. Looks so bullshit. Ridiculous. Zeth is the man of all trades. He does everything on the show. He does all kinds of stuff. He's a good kid. He's only 22. He just turned 23.
Now he's 23. I got to get used to saying that. 570-1053 is our phone number. Call us with anything you want. P1 Michelle's on the line. Hi, Michelle. Oh, wow. Uh-oh. What is up with your phone? Hello? I don't know. Oh. Hello? Oh, there you are. I was talking into my boot. I'm sorry. Hi, Mikey. Every morning I listen to that blues song you play, and I really would like to know who sings it. Oh, the one that we start the show with? Yeah. Yeah, that's this one. No, it isn't. Where is it? Where is the show? Where is the song we start the show? Okay. It's called Oh Baby, Please Don't Leave Me. And it's by a guy named Buddy Guy. Buddy Guy? Yep. He's a black dude. You're very welcome. Glad we were able to help you. Thank you. You guys have a good one. All right, you too. 570-1053 is the number.
Beginning and end of every show. It's open phones. Whatever you want. You can call about anything you want. We got a good show for you today, too. And don't forget, Friday, we're hanging. Yeah. Hanging out with you at K1 Speed in Carlsbad. Want to see everybody show up for that. And they're even going to be selling sandwiches out there from Park Place Liquor and Deli. Things were good, man. It's that place that came in and won the Mikey Show Best Sandwich in San Diego contest. Yeah. The El Fornaio is so good, man. Well said. Really delicious. Really yummy. The El Bato. The come on out. Mikey Show, hello. Hi, this is P1. Someone please get Sky a muzzle. I'd like to make a suggestion on there. Sky. You're already insensitive, sir. You're already being insensitive. You've already made a bad start. Oh, come on. I just want to make a suggestion that she not be allowed to say right anymore. Sky, do you say right? I have no clue. You do. I've never noticed one time that she does it. Not today yet, but every day, right? Right? Right. Well, now I'm going to notice every time she does it. Thanks a lot, guys. This guy, I've never noticed that you do it. I haven't either. 570-1053 is our phone number. Dice K is going to start the opener in Japan, Boston Rob. How about that? Red Sox. All right. What do you think about that? Ah, well.
Whatever it takes to get Beckett healthy and back in the lineup, and this Japan series is just bogus. It's going to ruin their entire year. No, don't say that. That happens, Rob. Whenever teams go overseas and start the season, they just lag. I'm sorry. It's the truth. No. Yeah, it'll ruin their whole year. Now, is that going to mess us up because we went to China? Probably a little bit. Although the Padres didn't send over their full squad. Well, that was smart. The Red Sox are sending over everybody except for Beckett. Calm down, guys. What do you mean? I got it covered. You're saying that my team is going to have a bad start. Now listen to him, man. He's a hothead. We're going to have a few games against the Dodgers. They'll probably finish in last. Don't say that. Oh, no. Mikey Show. Uh-oh. Go Tampa. Mikey, you there? Yeah, go ahead, dude. Hey, I just want to give my condolences to Mr. Skye. I feel so bad for that guy. What happened? Oh, well, yes. He was being berated is what you're saying. I didn't do anything. Skye said she was nice about it. I was way cool. You don't have the ability to just let things go. I was like, oh, that sucks, and then moved along. I'm like, well, should we cook it a little longer, see what happens? Okay. I thought you had a whole discussion about what is simmering. Well, we did. Okay.
Well, I mean, the guy had to learn, right? You had to tell him what a simmer is. He didn't know. So we can't talk? I can't talk to my husband now? You're allowed to communicate. What's wrong with the communication? You're passive-aggressive. I'm not. Mikey Show. That sounds like the plot to an M. Night Shyamalan movie. The chick that can't let things go, doesn't it? She lived next door to the lady in the water. Mikey Show. And the Red Sox are going to finish in the last place. Hello? Is anybody there? Alright, thank you then. What else is going on in the world? Looks like the LA Times has accused P. Diddy of having some associates that were behind the murder of Tupac. And P. Diddy freaked out and said that that is not true and that is very, very irresponsible of the LA Times to say that about him.
Hasn't that always been the rumor that Diddy and Biggie were responsible for Tupac's death and then the West Coast got him back and killed Biggie and all that stuff? So what do you think is the... sort of reason that this would be coming out now? Yeah, like how would this be? Well, the LA Times is citing FBI records and witnesses' statements for their story regarding this. And, you know, like you said, Diddy said, you know, the paper claim that Diddy had associates. who were involved in the murder and that Diddy, as well as the associates, knew that this was all going to go down in advance. And Diddy issued a statement after the story broke saying this is beyond ridiculous. Neither him nor Biggie had any knowledge of the attack. Diddy and Biggie. Yeah.
That's their name, Mike. Okay. Hey, listen, I'm Mikey. What am I supposed to do? All right. He goes on to say, quote, I am shocked that the Los Angeles Times would be so irresponsible as to publish such a baseless and completely untrue story. Wow. Wow. Get him, Jenny. Call if you want to. 570-1053 is the number. You can text us as well. Our text is 35253. If you are not... a member of the P1 Text Army, just text Mikey to 35253 and then you can get on it. This morning on the show, we are going to be doing a segment. It's coming up just after 7 o'clock and it's called Ask Mikey. It's an advice segment that you may find interesting. So we'll do that a little bit later. Also, speaking of texting, we got a very interesting email that every single person listening right now can relate to. Because you either text or you don't and that means it relates to you.

You've got a major mess trying to get out of the South Bay this morning. It's 805 northbound. A traffic order has been issued from a bad overturn accident blocking the two right lanes here just past Home Avenue. And that's why you're on single digits pretty much coming up out of Chula Vista all the way up. It's just a mess out here. So give yourself some extra time. You're going to need it this morning. Or you may choose to maybe hop on the 5 freeway. That's a much better way to go out of the South Bay this morning. Northbound, you've got the usual backup just a little bit towards that South Bay freeway in the National City and then you're pretty much good to go. I don't know what you're doing now, but it may be one of those deals where you're saying, you know what, man, I just, I need something different.
This could be it. What kind of stuff do you like? Maybe some of this stuff appeals to you. Using infrared cameras. Doing infrared camera operations. Because they're not just looking for illegals to come across the border. That's not how it works. Some of these guys are out there riding ATVs on patrols. It could be a pretty fun job. Especially if you're an independent type person. You want more information? Go to borderpatrol.gov. B-O-R-D-E-R-P-A-T-R-O-L dot gov. You know what I like best about going to a Honda dealership? You get free coffee. No, be serious. I am. And they usually have donuts and stuff, too. I'm talking about value here. As in deals? Well, it's more than just good deals. You look around and you see value everywhere. Like what? Like their Civic Hybrid. Did you know it's the most fuel-efficient car in its class? No. And their new totally redesigned Accord LX, it's the most fuel-efficient car in its class. Really? Then there's the eight-passenger pilot and the Ridgeline truck with that really innovative hidden in-bed trunk. Okay, we agree Honda makes great cars. Now, what about the deals? Oh, that's the easy part. It is? Just go to Yahoo and search Shop Honda. You'll find every great offer going on right now. No kidding. Yep. Do they tell you what kind of donuts they have, too, you know? Oh, please. Why am I even friends with you?
Honda Values. They're everywhere you look. Going on now at your Honda dealer. Oh, but we can't guarantee the donuts. Based on 21 MPG City, 31 MPG Highway for Accord 4-cylinder sedan models with automatic transmission, 40 MPG City, 45 MPG Highway for Civic Hybrid. Used for comparison purposes only. Actual mileage may vary. Now back to the Mikey Show. Thank you to every one of you. You make my days awesome. Featuring... Mikey. I was reading the sports page, which for me is like eating cookies. Eddie. I love to gamble. I love playing poker. I love all these things. Sky. I'm extremely responsible when it comes to... I'm a non-conformist. Boston Rock. You guys know that if I don't write stuff on my hand, I'm an idiot. And Ashley. And then talk to get attention. Save that one. I will not. You can't make... On Rock 105.3. You're listening to The Mikey Show. I'm so scared of you. If you are a regular listener of the Mikey Show, you're a P1. It's 641. The Supreme Court will hear arguments today to decide if Washington, D.C.'s ban on handguns violates constitutional rights. Florida's coach, Billy Donovan, used a little tough love on his team. He's kind of angry with them. To get ready for SDSU, he kicked them out of their practice facility. What? Wait, wait, wait. He kicked it to his own team?
His own team. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, and he's saying they also cannot wear their Florida gear around campus and stuff. He's mad at them because they didn't play very well. Oh. Okay. Tough love it is. Tough love. I guess so. Well, I'm sure that's good news for SDSU to get an angry, hungry Florida team. Who doesn't want to be in trouble with their coach anymore? Oh, that's super. Here's some text messages we're getting. Mikey Boston is going to bring back a crazy off-the-wall disease and ruin the team. Wow. That's from P1 Bold Fan. That's a little support for Rob. Hey, Mikey. My name is Tech. How can I become a P1? The show's great. Just started listening two months ago. Very easy. Tech, what you do is you just need to listen to the Mikey show.
What we don't want is we don't want to share you. We are very selfish and jealous, and so we want you all to ourselves. Very possessive. We're very possessive. You'll find that we're very dysfunctional, but in a way that appeals to you. What we want is for you to listen to The Mikey Show exclusively, and then if you ever decide that you're going to call into The Mikey Show, turn your radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss. That will make you a P1. You're also telling other people about the Mikey show, trying to get them to listen. That makes you a P1 as well. And so that is the very definition of a P1. Next text message says, Mikey, you rock my life. It says it right there. You rocked my life. I'm leaving Thursday for Houston, then next Monday for Sicily. We were afraid we would miss you guys. and have Mikey withdrawals. When you said you were going on break next week, me and my fiancée Jessica got so happy. P1 Grim, love you. I'm out. Yeah, plan your vacations around ours. That's a good idea. That's a good plan. Hey, Mikey, this is P1 Parjuice, and I'm just wondering if you have any plans for the 48-hour show this year. Oh, get out of here with that. That's not even funny.
That's insulting. We do not do a 48-hour show. No. Or ever will. No. Thank you. We do a 28-hour show, and that's plenty. Barely get through that. Yeah, the 28-hour show is where we go on the air for 28 straight hours. We go on at 6 o'clock in the morning. We don't get off until the next day at 10 a.m. Wow. And it's very... That's impossible. Yeah, we don't play music. We don't do commercials. It's 28 straight hours, and we plan it out, man. We do a 28-hour show. It's pretty crazy. Yeah. P1 John. Yeah, I had a question for Eddie. Yeah. Hey, did you hear anything about Lorenzo Neal going to the Broncos? No, I haven't heard that. I heard that from John Lynch himself saying that they're going to be new teammates. He said that himself? What do you mean he said it himself? They had the John Lynch Foundation had a thing going on this weekend. Uh-huh. Celebrities and stuff, and Lorenzo Neal was there when he was introducing him.
to come up to speak, they were talking about they're going to be new teammates. And was this done in a very tongue-in-cheek sort of playful way, or did you get the impression that it was real? Oh, no. Yeah, I don't have the impression that it's real. Eddie's kind of shaking his head like, I don't know, that sounds a little tongue-in-cheek. You know how people are sometimes, you know, when they kind of misread what they're doing. I'm not saying it's not true, but I have not heard one way or the other that the Broncos are interested in signing him, so we'll see. Do you think we'll try to pick up a running back in the draft? Yeah. I actually do think that's going to probably happen probably in the later rounds. Unless there's a stud running back sitting there for them in the first or second round. Why not? Yeah, true. Cool. Thanks, guys. Thank you, man. Did you guys watch any TV last night? I saw the premiere of Dancing with the Stars. And what did you think? Well...
They did an interesting thing where they had the guys perform last night, and they're having the girls perform tonight, which is really interesting to me because it's Dancing with the Stars versus American Idol, which that's a battle of the behemoths, man. I don't know who's going to win that war. They're both really big, man. They're humongous. And don't people kind of watch the same shows you would think? I would think so. I would think they share an audience. So, Eddie, what will you do? I will probably watch Idol. And TiVo, the other one. Sky? Ooh. Well, see, I would prefer to watch Dancing with the Stars. Than Idol? Yeah. Really? Yeah. So which one are you going to TiVo? But if we didn't have this discussion, I'd be like, I should probably watch American Idol for the show so we could talk about it in the morning and TiVo Dancing with the Stars. But if it was up to me, I would prefer to watch Dancing with the Stars. Really? Yeah. Well, you watch Dancing with the Stars and report on that, and I'll watch Idol and report on that. Okay. Deal. So, here is Jason Taylor. He's a football player for the Dolphins. He's gigantic. Yeah, he is. He's good. How tall would you say Jason Taylor is? I think he's married to Zach Taylor's sister. Did you know that? Zach Thomas. Zach Thomas. Zach Thomas. Yeah. But I think that is his wife, right? I think so, yeah. How tall would you say Jason Taylor is? Probably 6'5". 6'6".
How did you... Was he good? He actually did pretty good. Yeah, he wasn't bad. He did pretty good. He was one of the better ones. This is what he had to say about his friends when they found out that he was going to be on Dancing with the Stars. Cut 24. Since people found out I was doing a show, everybody had something to say. My poker friends gave me a tutu. A pink one. I think he's a very strong, confident man throwing a tutu. Did they show him in the tutu? Yeah. Was it pretty gay? It was just goofy. Now, let me tell you something. It really would surprise a lot of people how these guys, these NFL guys, are pretty tough guys. But you'd be surprised sometimes what they're into, what they like, what their personal lives are like. I mean, here's Jason Taylor on Dancing with the Stars. We're going to have a future Hall of Famer, Gonzalez. What's his first name? Tony Gonzalez. Tony Gonzalez is going to be on the show. And Tony Gonzalez, those...
Teammates of his make fun of him so much because of when he got married. Why? He did not. They didn't call it a marriage or a wedding. They called it their commitment ceremony. And every time it came up, like his friends were like, I need a commitment ceremony. And you could tell that it bothered him, but that his wife or. commitment partner. I think that's what they call each other or something. It was like her idea. He's going along with it and you can tell that he's really making an effort to the point where his friends would say when you get married and he would have to correct them and say it's a commitment ceremony. But anyway, that's the deal. Some of these guys are into some different things. What about Corolla? How was Adam Corolla? Goofball? Disaster. Who'd they pair him with? The two-time champion, that little chick, Julianne. Julianne? Yeah, so they're basically like saying, you know what? You've won twice. You're not going to win again. We'll give you Corolla. Yeah. Last year, Julianne danced with her partner. I don't remember. Who was her partner last year? Helio. Helio. And after she was done dancing with him, she passed gas on mistake on television.
And they tried to brush it off like nobody noticed, but everybody in the room did notice, a little tiny 19-year-old. But here's Adam Carolla talking about the first time he worked with her, cut 27. Julianne and I started off, we couldn't have been more different. Are we connected? Yes, I think we're connected, yes. Okay. To me, she was just a girl half my age, and I felt weird. I feel like your dad's watching this show. I'm feeling like 20 minutes. Suck his daughter into my groin, you know? I was raised better than that. Adam will do anything to avoid dancing. He talks way too much. Hold on, my feet are on the phone. Hold on. And another time, I break a bottle over a guy's head. The last time I got shushed by a 19-year-old, I was 18. Do you understand that? Three, four, slow. Time to continue on in this competition. He needs to channel his energy from his mouth to his feet. If you had to, Eddie...
If you had to, say, somebody who you think is going to have a really good chance of winning this thing, who would you say? Well, the clear favorite out of the gate was that guy Mario that we talked about yesterday, the R&B singer. But we've only seen the guys dance. We haven't seen the girls yet. So out of the guys. But out of the guys, Mario, you could tell he has some dance experience. He kind of knows what he's doing. He's got moves. For a second, I thought you were talking about me. Really? Yeah, I mean, that sounds like a perfect description of me. Really has some dancing experience. R&B. R&B. Let's do this. Let's take a quick time out. Take your text at 35253. And when we come back, why don't we do a little Wuss Rock jukebox? Why don't we do that? Okay. This is where we will appoint Eddie, Sky, and Sean as judges. And I need guys to call right now. Guys that know Wuss Rock songs. Call us right now if you want to win a prize and sing these songs. You better be creative. Want to spend three days and two nights in Las Vegas at absolutely no cost? Boston Rob. I hate the Yankees. You know this. And Mikey Shows On. Yeah, it sounds really gay, but for whatever reason, you know, it's just kind of like, it's a guilty pleasure, I guess, these kind of songs, you know what I mean? Just ask Rob. He knows that better than anybody. Welcome back to the show. It is 7 o'clock.
A judge ruled yesterday that Britney Spears will have to pay $375,000 worth of KFED's legal bills. The Panthers finally get Steve Smith some help. They signed wide receiver DJ Hackett. That only took three years. Some texts we're getting. By the way, our text number is 35253 if you want to text us. We're going to be doing Ask Mikey in about 15 minutes. Here's some of the texts we're getting this morning. Hey, Mikey, you guys rock. I'm texting from my iPhone that took a swim in the toilet this morning. Oh, no. At least my radio still works. This one says, B-Rob, hopefully your boys are wearing breathing masks so that they don't come back with SARS. Oh, no. Oh, SARS. This one says, hey, Mikey, I'm looking forward to the P1 party at K1 Speed. I'm also wondering if P1s will be able to race you guys. That's signed, P1 Savage. Watch it burn.
Well, I will tell you this. You will be able to ask us if we would like to compete in a race with you. Whether or not Sky or Ashley will take you up on that is up to them. Right. Don't go against Ashley. She's crazy. She is crazy. She is the nuttiest K1 speed driver of all time. That's crazy. I like to go fast. That's right. Yes, she does. And reckless. Yes. She is a little reckless. There's like bumps and helmets. What do you think about doing some Wuss Rock Jukebox? Let's get this done. Let's do it. Come on. The idea behind Wuss Rock Jukebox is that you're a fella. You call in if you know Wuss Rock songs. And what am I talking Wuss Rock songs? You know, I'm talking about the kind of stuff they play on Kixi. Now, maybe you're new to San Diego. You're like, what's Kixi? Maybe you're a dude that's only listened to Rock 105 your whole life. You're like, what's Kixi?
You must not have a girlfriend, bro. Kixi is that station that plays music like Celine Dion. Soft rock. Soft rock. Phil Collins, One More Night. That's right. Now, I'm just in the spirit of honesty, I like that stuff. Oh, yeah, you do. Yeah. Talk about it. Well, I've got a gay inner me. And so I like some of that stuff. You got yourself a sweet exterior, Mike. That's right, Eddie. What? Sounds gay. I would be a great wuss rocker. The idea is that you call up and we play a clip of a Wuss Rock song and abruptly stop it and then you take over singing it. Now, we only have two rules. One rule is you don't know the words. Just be creative. Come up with something really good, man. The second rule is the last thing we want is for you to go, I can't hear it. Or to sing, I don't know the words to this song. You got to be creative. Come up with something and you'll win. What's the prize today, Eddie? Dude, we got a killer prize. Check this out. What do we got? What do we got? How about if you come out to the big K1 Speed P1 party, we'll give you a free race and a free sandwich. Oh, wow. That's pretty cool. If you come in anyway, we'll hook you up. Yeah. That prize made me happy when you said it. I was like, that's pretty good. P1 Chris? Yes. Okay. The one thing that I didn't explain is that Eddie, Sky, and Sean will be the judges. It's like American Idol.
Only for how effeminate and gay you sound. I'm the Paula. There you go. All right, Chris, are you ready to play? Yes, I am. When the clip stops, you start. Here we go. He's a polar bear. That means it's irritation when he does the fast blink, the fluttering blink. Irritation. And he is one of the judges. Just want to remind you of that, P1 Chris. Eddie, what did you think? Well, you know, I thought the tone was there. I appreciate the fact that you tried to make fun of Sean and for his gay lifestyle. I'm not gay, bro. But you made one fatal flaw and didn't realize that Sean is not a polar bear. He is a gay panda. So for that reason, I'm going to have to fail you, bro. I'm sorry. Sorry about that. Got to get your gay furries correct. That's right.
I'm not gay, dude. You just lived a lifestyle. I know. I did not live the lifestyle. That's right. You're reformed. Skye? I definitely enjoyed the performance. The tone was wonderful. It had a great flow. And, you know, I truly believe that this P1 is an expert and did go to one of those parties and see Sean as a polar bear. Just because Sean didn't admit it to us doesn't mean it didn't happen. And I think this P1 on the phone is the expert. How about that? And now, unfortunately, we've got to go over to Sean. Why do you say unfortunate? Well, because, Eddie, you did not give him a passing grade. He looks upset. Sky did give him a passing grade. He only needs one more vote to get through this thing. Come on, Sean. I'm sorry. Sean would be the tiebreaker here. Oh, Sean has a look of a... Oh, really? On his face, it's kind of a look that goes, oh, my turn? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you can all kiss my ass. I don't know what that means. That was a strong opinion. Sean, it's your turn to vote for P1 Chris. Yeah, I just cast my vote. Chris, I'm going to call that a no. Sorry about that. We'll see you next time. He's got some growing up to do.
P1 Tato is on the line. Hello. Tato, how are you? Good, you? Good. You know how the game is played, right? I do. What do you do for a living? I am on the U.S. Marines. All right. And, well, listen. Oh, boy. I don't know about this. Why? Well, what I know of Marines are very tough. Their heart is nails. And so I question whether or not this guy can reach into his inner gay and be able to pull out a victory here with being able to sing one of these songs. I just don't know that it's there, but we'll see. Give him a chance. I have every confidence. Here we go, P1 Tato. Wow. Sean was just... silently celebrating. Really excited. Wow. He was pumping his fists. Viciously. Viciously pumping those fists. So good. I could not have been more wrong. Eddie. I have a couple of questions. Okay. Number one, I'm not sure, is this Andrew Ridgely on the line?
You mean the guy opposite George Michael in the band Wham? Yeah, I think everybody knows that. All right. And number two, I don't really believe you're a Marine. I think you're in the Navy, buddy. Come on. You're a winner. You're a winner. A huge, huge fan. First, I'd like to say a huge fan, Toto. I've been following your career for quite a while now. And I'm very proud of you to come out in this fashion. You don't know his career friend-o. Well... I'm very proud, so congratulations. All I know is that she just said career. Career. All right. And finally, Sean. Well. Here it is. First of all, I would like to say. Giant smile on Sean's face, by the way. Giant smile. That was incredible. It was nearly indescribable.
The joy I felt. Yes. Well, you can see it. Sean is smiling on the outside and the inside. For sure. It's protruding through your skin right now. Oh, that's weird. I would like to... Yeah, that kind of gets it. I don't want to know what you would like to do. Ash, that kind of... I don't know, but I don't want something to happen. But, you know, it's obvious to me that you prefer outdoor plumbing as opposed to indoor plumbing. Dude, you're super gay. Way to go. Hang on the line. Yeah, but it was funny. Me either, but Tony C. is ready to go. Tony? Hey, good morning, guys. Good morning. How are you? Pretty good. Are you ready to play a little Wuss Rock jukebox? I'm ready. All right. Here's your song. Sean's facial expression was... Let's go to our first judge, Eddie.
Oh, boy, that's tough because I really like this guy's voice. I think he knows the song, but unfortunately, he just repeated the lyric. So to me, you're very much like the David Hernandez of this group. You are a former stripper who danced at a male strip club, but you are straight. Oh. Sorry. Oh, that's shocking. It's called tough love, guys. I know. Sky? Well... I also enjoyed your vocals very much. And I feel what tripped you up on that last verse was when you had to say that you were waiting for a girl. And then, you know, just to force yourself to say the word girl instead of guy tripped you up. I don't blame you. Elton John goes through it all the time with his songs. So I think you did a great job. And then finally, Sean, what did you... Well, I mean... That ain't good. Anybody can hum a tune that you just heard, bro. Oh, no. Like, you gotta know the... Like, what are you... What are you doing? Like, come on here. Oh, it's Sean's camera shot. You gotta know the song. But we play a song that everyone should know in this genre. But what do you do? You just repeat what you just heard? You just repeat what? Somebody throw him some bamboo. Thank you. All right. Well, ladies and gentlemen, that is going to conclude today's episode three.
Unfortunately, we were not able to get another winner. But overall, I felt you, dog. Our text number is 35253 if you want to text us right now. Okay, time for our last movie review. Here's a clip from the new film Pregnant Dude. I'm gonna be sick. Oh, dude, you're gonna be a mom. Finally, a film that takes on the taboo of male pregnancy. I give it four stars, Carl. Six Flags. Yeah, you mean Six Stars. No, Six Flags. This movie looked kind of stupid, so I went to Six Flags for spring break instead. But it's a four-star movie. Yeah, sorry. Flags are more fun than stars. Stars are billions of light years away. Six Flags is right here in the area. Yeah? Jane, Six Flags is a triumph. I laughed, I cried, I screamed like a little girl. In fact, here's a clip of me screaming like a little girl on Tatsu. Spring Break. Don't miss the coaster capital of the world. Got hit heavy on with an earlier bad overturn crash blocking lanes near Home Avenue. That's out of the way. And now you're just dealing with commute traffic for the most part here. Coming up out of Chula Vista off and on up towards Market Street. And a few more break nights now in the North Park. And now you're seeing a bit of a delay coming out of Kearney Mesa as you head up over to 52. West 94 on the King Freeway slows from College Grove Way to the 805. Now getting word of an accident. West 94 at the 5 Freeway. So possible delays there as well. The West 8th has been looking great all morning long. But now he's finally seeing a bit of traffic right around the Lake Murray area. Then again at College. South 15 coming down out of Escondido. A little slow here from Auto Parkway to Vier Rancho. A few more breakouts in the Carmel Mountain Ranch. Northbound side of the 15, though. Busy ride coming off the 8th freeway in through Murphy Canyon. And then again approaching the 52 freeway. Energy heads south to the 5 out of the North County. A little tight here out of Encinitas down towards Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3.
Justin? Yes. Are you there? Tell me your AIS story. Oh, this is great. I've been listening to Mikey's show for a while, and I've been hearing AIS this, AIS that. So I called him up two nights ago, and the guy told me that he wasn't going to be able to probably not meet my deal with my current insurer. So he called AIS. They said, we don't think we could probably do better. He said he probably couldn't, but he beat him by 50 bucks. Nice. I'm saving $584.12 a year with these guys. I have a great driver's record, you know. That's pretty awesome, dude. Yeah, they did it. That's pretty awesome. See, so the AIS thing is for real. Yeah, definitely. You know, I didn't know what to believe, but I called them up just in case, and it's working. There you go. Thank you, Justin. All right. Well, thanks, Mikey. I really appreciate it. I appreciate you letting me know, dude. All right. Anybody that wants in on that can do it. 1-800-777-4AIS. 1-800-777-4247. See, you don't have to be where you're like, oh, I'm right about to renew, blah, blah, blah. You can be right in the middle of, you could have just signed a deal with an insurance company. You could do this and save money. And Sky was like, oh, but I don't want to have to go canceling and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. No, no, no. They'll do it for you. They take care of everything. They cancel your old thing. It's 1-800-777-4247.
This is the official home of the Mikey Morning Show. That guy's the biggest dork on the planet. I'm telling you, man. Jeez. I don't know what to make of that guy. KIOC San Diego's Rock 5-3. It's Mikey. Here's a Mikey moment. Rob's never seen the sixth sense. He's never seen an M. Night Shyamalan movie. And he's like, I don't like M. Night Shyamalan. What a jerk. He's never even seen one of his movies. I heard all those movies suck. That's not my fault. Who's that? And he goes like this, and he goes, Oh, really? Lady in the water? I heard some lady lives in a pool. Oh, it's freaking me out. The village, it was like a bunch of Mormons or something. I don't know. It's on the pod. Back to Mikey on the Rock. It's a Mikey show at 721. A man was shot and killed outside the Bahia Hotel in Mission Beach last night after a fight involving 20 people. The USD women get a 14-seat, take on number 3-seat Cal in the NCAA Women's Tournament. Here are some of the text messages we're getting this morning. By the way, you can text us at 35253.
This one says, hey, Mikey, can I take my kids to the K1 Speed P1 party? Yes, you can. Absolutely. We'd love to see your kids out there. As far as racing age, I don't know. I don't know how old they have to be to race, but those things go about 40 miles an hour. So you can take them out there and watch. I mean, it might be kind of fun to watch depending on how old they are. I don't know if they can race. Before I read a couple more of these, I want to let people know Ask Mikey is open. If you want to call and ask me for any advice, 570-1053 is a phone number. You just have to know who you're getting. You know who I am if you've listened for any length of time. But you can certainly call and ask for advice and I'll give it to you. Another one says, Mikey, why do you guys omit Ron Paul from your presidential conversations? Um... I would say that Ron Paul has omitted himself from our presidential conversations. I think the American public has done that. Yeah. And the statistics. He's not really a part of the conversation. Mathematically, it's not a possibility. Yeah. I mean, we can read all about him on freeway overpasses. We can Google him all we want. Sure. Absolutely. Maybe, hey, listen, same reason that we are not talking about Mike Huckabee anymore. I mean, it's kind of done.
The only people to talk about are Hillary and Obama on the Democrat side. And look, McCain's a shoo-in now for the Republicans. He is the nominee. This text says, hey, Mike, you just wanted to let you guys know. You rock. I have the most boring job in the world and you guys get me through it. Thank you, dude. That's P1 Matty. Matty. Matty. Our text is 35253. So if you want to text us, you can do that. So, more on the Obama this morning on the Today Show. Aides say the speech was still being written Monday afternoon when the senator started fielding questions about the Reverend Wright controversy. Now, when they're talking about speech, what they're talking about is, is it Today Sky? Yeah, I believe it may have actually started. They said it was supposed to start at 10.15, you know, East Coast time. Right. And so now it's, what, 10.20 East Coast time. So it may have just started a few minutes ago. Obama was going to be giving a speech this morning on race. And is it just race? Race, religion, and unity. Okay. And change.
And of course change. Well, he doesn't say that, but I'm sure he'll mention it. For sure. Yeah, I mean, I would hope so. But anyway, yeah, he's going to be giving a speech on this to respond to all this stuff about his Reverend Wright, Jeremiah Wright. So he's going to be giving that speech this morning. He's giving it already. He's ready to go off script early. I know you guys are curious about this. This is why I'm giving a speech tomorrow that will be a lot more fulsome than a press conference. Does that make sense? Despite a round of cable interviews last week addressing his relationship with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, I would not repudiate the man. Questions were still dogging him about why he hadn't distanced himself further and sooner from the controversial pastor he's known now for nearly 20 years. I think the caricature that's being painted of him is not accurate. And so part of what I'll do tomorrow is to talk a little bit about how some of these issues are perceived. from within the black church community. But that kind of response to condemn the message without condemning the messenger has been fodder for some critics who say the Illinois senator is trying to have it both ways. The same politics as usual his campaign condemns. Jeremiah was my pastor. He was a good friend of mine.
Conservative talk radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh have landed on him hard. This guy knew and knows to this day, Obama does, exactly what right's all about. Cable outlets are still playing the most incendiary of right's comments over and over. And newspaper headlines over the last several days are in stark contrast to the rock star headlines of just a few weeks ago. Obama hasn't been on the offense very much. He has very much been in reactive mode over the last three or four weeks. At some point, he needs to get back on offense. The bar for Tuesday's speech is high, and the senator knows trying to convince potential white supporters that he truly can bridge the gap may be a tough sell, as he told PBS's Gwen Ifill late Monday. What we have in common is far more important than what's different, and that if we're going to solve any of these problems, we've got to come together and bridge our differences in ways that we just have not bridged them before. This is so interesting to me because Hillary? Must. Oh, yeah. For sure. She must be loving it. Because, I mean, look, two weeks ago, it was, I mean, everybody was Obama crazy. Yeah. I mean, people were Obama crazy. And Hillary went on Saturday Night Live, and the next thing we knew, it was turning around for her. Yeah, momentum switched. The momentum switched. The Eddie line is ringing. Oh, it is. Oh, wow. Hello, Eddie.
Oh, no. Barbara, you call, whenever we talk about Barack Obama, and you start saying your ridiculous remarks about... Well, I don't want to hear that garbage with you making up stuff about Barack Obama. I'm not going to make anything up about Barack Obama. All right. What I'd like to do, if you don't mind, is say a couple of things that maybe you don't know about Hillary. Okay. You're a Hillary supporter. Did you guys know? Hmm. That Hillary Clinton was the one that came up with the HPV vaccine. No, she was not. That is an absolute false statement. And a couple of things, she accidentally put some things together and it turned out it cured HPV. That's not true, Barbara. Very false. Did you know that she once farted the lyrics to a Neil Diamond song? I cannot confirm or deny that. We don't know that. Hello again. Really? That's not Neil Diamond. Whatever. Did you know she donated her lungs to black kids after Katrina? That's not possible. She donated her kidneys, her breasts, her lungs. She donated everything. She wanted everybody to have a little bit.
No, stop it, Barbara. She's a giver and not a taker. I'm tired of these lies you tell. And everyone that says bad things about her is an awful person. No. People have opinions, Barbara. Whatever. Oh, man. Oh, no. She was not in a good mood today. She never says goodbye. Never says bye. It's the strangest thing in the world. Why don't we do some of this? We did a segment called Ask Mikey. Do not get into the industry. I'm no psychologist. What you're asking for right now is the health... and well-being of your daughter pray about it but we all have a job to do to ask mikey this is my native person right strong opinions it's up to you to take it i mean it's uh worth what it costs right i mean it's free what are you gonna do p1 our phone number by the way if you want to ask me something is 5701053 p1 shane yeah hey mikey what's going on dude Obviously, this is long overdue. Whoa! Wait a second. Shane, what is going on with the voice? What happened to your voice? I got in an argument with my dad the other day. Wait a second. Wait a second. Did you rip your throat out? You got in an argument with your dad. When was it? Two days ago. Two days ago. So, on Sunday, you got in an argument with your dad. Yeah. And you were screaming so hard that you lost your voice. Pretty irate, man. I was...
What was the argument about? He went to my email address and read some personal emails of mine, and I flipped on him. How was he able to do that? How did he have access? My Yahoo Messenger on my desktop, and he was able to click the link to my email. Really? Yeah, crazy stuff. Yeah, that is. Where does a father, who has a 26-year-old, think that it's okay, that you can go into your son's house? his email and read his personal email. So you're 26 years old? Yes, sir. Okay, and what is your question, Shane? My question is, if it's not possible to play secret today, how am I supposed to physically ask this girl out to dinner tonight if I'm losing my phone? Yeah, you don't do it tonight. That's very simple, Shane. I'd be creeped out. Yes, every girl in the world would be creeped out by that. You don't ask? No, she's not. I met her last night for the first time. I just ran into her. I wrote you an email about it, actually. Okay. I just met her for the first time last night from a friend from high school that I randomly ran into two nights ago. And it was totally random, and she's heard me like this already, and she didn't run away, so I think I'm okay. Well, if you think that, what are you calling me for? Because you like to help people all the time because you are every Friday. You tell your story. Yeah, exactly, but my question is that if she's already met you and she's heard this...
And you feel like she still likes you. What exactly do you want to know from me? Sounds that bad, huh? Yeah, well, what do you want to know from me? What I want to know is, do you have any suggestions? If we can play Secret Crush, how else I could be able to ask her out? Plus, I really would like to play Secret Crush because I think she's absolutely amazing and gorgeous. And if there is such a thing called love at first sight, I think I just experienced it. Well, listen, congratulations to you. Wow. And me. Her name's Rebecca, and I know your wife's name is Rebecca. I thought that was kind of cool. Yes, yes. Well, listen, my advice is that you wait until your voice sounds a little better and you sound a little bit more. See, this is the issue. This is the thing with guys and men. We don't get it. We don't get it. Ladies like it when we, you know, Put on a little knife something something. Yeah. What guys often think is that we could get away with the ripped up clothes and the, yeah, so maybe I haven't taken a shower. But you know what? I'm going to give it a shot anyway. I'm going to go over there anyway. I know she's working right now. We do that so often. And we will take a situation when it's not the best and we will present ourselves in that situation. We can't do that.
That's what the guy wants to do. He says, yeah, my voice isn't the best, but I want to give it a shot. And we misread vibes, too. Oh, yeah. We pick up on friendliness and think, oh, well, she's obviously interested in me. She didn't throw a drink in my face, so love it for sight. Just because she was talking to you, bro. Doesn't always mean. Doesn't always mean that she's necessarily interested. All it means is that she was talking to you. Rob is. Screening a couple of calls if we get any that we're liking. Roll them on here. Real quickly, I'm going to let you know, there is a new release today in CDs that you may be very interested in. So I'm going to be telling you about that. Come back. Remember yesterday we were telling you about an off-duty cop that was allegedly being accused of shooting a woman and her kid?
We have some more information on that. Some audio. The audio is of a police officer that's talking about it. It's a police sergeant. So we'll play you that and take more of your calls when we come back. This is the Mikey Show. Get downloads and podcasts at rock1053.com. Can I have a ticket and coach, please? Hmm. An earlier action, your home avenue cleared, but now you've got commute traffic pretty much. North 805 approaching the South Bay Freeway off and on into North Park. And then very heavy again coming up to Kearney Mason now approaching the 163. And that's a slow ride at the Governor Drive in the Golden Triangle.
West 94 on the King Freeway stays tight from Federal Boulevard to that 805 connector. The West 8's been looking good for the most part, but now finally getting into it, you're going to find some brake lights from Spring Street off and on to Lake Murray, then again approaching the 15. West 52, a little bit of a delay coming out of Santee up towards Mass Boulevard, up to Hilton. It's not too bad. South 15 out of Escondido, a little slow now from Auto Parkway off and on to Villa Rancho. The coaster rides south on some of the 5 stays tight out of Encinitas down into Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Well, I don't know if you remember last year I was telling you about becoming part of rock royalty, about being part of hard rock downtown San Diego. You can be part owner of the hard rock. And we know how the housing situation is in San Diego right now. I mean, there's tons of foreclosures. People aren't able to hold on to their houses. Well, I think that a couple of investors who tried to... be part of the hard rock, I think they probably fell out. And they're available again. So to me, what an opportunity to have an incredible investment. Because we know the housing market is going to go back up. It's just like anything. It goes down, it goes back up. So when it goes up and you are in on the ground floor and you're in on the hard rock, you're going to be making...
tons of dough not to mention the perks you get the perks you get are beyond words talk about it well you you basically get to vacation in your own backyard you know i mean talk about a rad weekend getaway in your own suite in the hard rock yeah i mean and then you get all the amenities room service whenever you want dry cleaning front of line service and all the cool places in hard rock including nobu which is the hottest place in town nice so i mean it's it is the way to go i'm even considering doing it and really looking into investing into this because it is just the coolest thing to do. I mean, I can't even imagine going down to a Padre game, hanging out, and being like, you know what? I don't feel like driving home tonight. I'm going to stay in my suite at the Hard Rock. That'd be so rad. It's just the way to go. So if this is something for you... I mean, even the Black Eyed Peas are doing it, and there's tons of different celebrities that are part owners of the Hard Rock. You can be a celebrity, too, and they'll treat you like a celebrity. It's Hard Rock, downtown San Diego. Now back to the Mikey Show, featuring Mikey. It is not until you get to know me that you realize I'm completely self-absorbed. Eddie. I like my sandwich. I like my sandwich. Okay, Skye. Thank you. Don't doubt the news. Sean. I'm actually pissed off. I'm the token Boston guy on the shelf there.
That's right. Every show should happen. And Ashley. You make a compelling person. I'm a compelling person. On Rock 105.3. Mikey Show, it is 741. It's been announced that Mariah Carey will be a mentor on this season of American Idol. Wow. Red Sox announced that Dice K is going to start the opener for them in Japan. Go ahead and text us at 35253. If you're not in the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, text the word Mikey to 35253 and then you're in. You can text us all the time. By the way, we're going to be talking about texting coming up here in just a minute. So we were talking before we went to the break about the Oceanside cop who allegedly shot, or maybe that part's not allegedly. What is the alleged stuff, Skye? Well, just a little clarification. It's actually a San Diego police officer. What did I say?
You said Oceanside. The shooting happened in Oceanside, but it was an off-duty San Diego police officer who lives and is a resident of Oceanside. So this all went down Saturday night in the Lowe Shopping Center off Old Grove Road about a little bit after 9 o'clock at night. So what we have learned... is that the woman and son who were shot in the incident, the woman is a military wife with the husband based out of Camp Pendleton. I'm not sure if he is away right now or if he's home, but it was revealed that she's a military wife, but they're still not revealing her identity. Now, the San Diego police officer who was off duty at the time of the shooting is currently on administrative leave. While they do this investigation. Now nobody's been arrested. Nobody's been locked up. But from everything I've read. I mean it's pretty clear. That this off duty officer. Opened fire on this mother and son. And from what I read this morning. That actually the mother and son were in the car. And two bullets went through the windshield. Shooting them. Eight year old boy and the mother. So we know. Beyond a shadow of a doubt. Two people were shot.
We just don't know why, what? Yeah, so basically there's lots of talk about it being a road rage incident that somebody was, you know, not going the right of way. There was some violation of the right of way. But the police aren't yet saying who they believe is at fault for the incident, who's the aggressor. But to me... You shoot somebody. Thank you. It doesn't matter if she's the aggressor. Yeah, it doesn't matter if she was driving the wrong way or if she was flipping you off or even if she spat at you. I think the only way that this guy may have anything is if she was using her vehicle as a weapon and trying to hurt him with her vehicle. Which could be. I mean, we still don't know at this point, but this is a very crazy case. This is the sergeant that's been assigned to working on the case. Cut 49. Well, right now we've got a statement from the son at this time, and we have the statement from the police officer. So we're waiting to talk to the mother so that we can put the pieces of the puzzle together to make sure we come up with a logical conclusion as to what happened and what transpired that evening. Hmm. So they're still putting it together. We don't know anything yet. As soon as we do, we'll let you know.
P1 Islander. Islander, are you there? Good morning, Mikey Show. How are you? I'm fine. How are you? Good. Do you have your radio turned up? No, I don't have my radio turned off. What am I hearing in the background? I have no idea. Okay. My car isn't even turned on. Okay, I think I fixed it. How's that? Is that better? Oh, that is so much better. There we go. There we go. Here I am. What can I do for you, Islander? Well, I... Have a little bit of a dilemma. Okay. Just quick history. My sister and I have been estranged for years. No contact, no Christmas cards, no nothing. Why? We just, we had never really been close. So we never really communicated. Not that there's any animosity towards it. We just never talked. Sounds familiar. Right, right. Exactly.
Eddie's kind of got that situation. Eddie says that because Eddie's got that situation, too. Yeah, I remember that. Exactly. And so last summer we had a family function. And out of the blue, she calls me and says, hey, I'm going to be in town for this wedding. Will you share a hotel room with me? Because I don't want to stay alone. And I'm all happy. I'm okay. She wants to mend bridges. She's reaching out. Okay, cool. Well, I got there. I found out the only reason she wanted me there was for a cover-up so that she could hook up with her ex-boyfriend while she was in town. And so now I haven't spoke to her since, and I talked to my mother. And she says, well, have you talked to your sister? Because she's going to be in L.A. for a wedding, and she wants to know if you will share a hotel room with her. And so now I'm thinking that she probably wants to use me as a smokescreen again. I haven't talked to her yet. She probably does want to use you for that reason. Exactly. But then the optimist in me that's saying, you know, God has a plan and maybe she is this time trying to reach out. But I've been burned and it hurt very, very badly. So I don't know how to tell her that. Now, where do I go with this?
Well, has she asked you if she can share a room with you again yet? I've been avoiding her phone calls. Oh, so she's been calling and you've been avoiding. Exactly. Yeah, you don't, in my opinion, you don't want to do that. Second, when she calls and she asks if you can share a room, first of all, how did you know that it was a cover-up to cheat? Well, number one, the guy was foolish enough to get a room directly across from ours. When I heard her leaving at 2 o'clock in the morning, she didn't maybe realize that I was awake, but I heard them talking. Two seconds later, she's in the room. You heard them talking on a cell phone or the hotel room phone or how? In the hallway. You heard them in the hallway. In other words, he was in a room directly across from ours. She must have been saying goodbye at the door. So I heard them talking in the hallway.
And you could hear, could you hear like funny business going on in the hallway? No, I couldn't. And the other clincher is that he told me. Oh, he told you. He told me. Okay, he told you. Well, yeah, that's kind of the big part. Yeah. Okay. Exactly. And the party ended at 12 and she's not back in the room until she's 30. Okay, did you, how old are you? I am 43. And how old is your sister? She's 44. Is she your blood, is sister by blood or is she a stepsister or how does it? She's my older sister by blood. Older sister by blood. Correct. And she is married. Yes. And you guys, if you're just tuning in right now, this is P1 Islander, and she doesn't talk to her that much. How many years it had been since you guys had talked when you saw her at the hotel when you shared a room? Except for family functions, 16.
Okay. Okay. And there was never a falling out, you're saying? Never. I mean, even... No, no, no, no. It's okay. You don't have to go into detail. Yeah, no, never. Okay. I mean, there's no animosity. Just... Just this. Nothing in common, no reason to speak. Yeah. Okay. First of all, I believe that you should take her call. And it could be, although I doubt it, that she's calling you just to catch up. But I doubt it. She's probably calling you because she wants to ask if you will room with her again. In which case, if she asks if you will room with her again, you just say, yeah, I can't do that. And she may ask you, why not? She might not ask you, why not? And if she doesn't ask you, why not? You don't have to tell her. You can just say, yeah, just don't feel comfortable doing that. If she asks you why, you say, yeah, I'll tell you. Boy, it's kind of uncomfortable. But the reason that I don't want to do it again is because the last time we shared a room, the guy that you were cheating with told me that you guys were cheating. And so I don't feel comfortable facilitating that in any way. I'd love to visit. I'd love to get together and visit. So if you want to go to lunch, I'd love to do that. But I can't do the other thing. And that's just real straightforward and honest. And you can never...
Lose that way. See, because if she gets upset at you from that point on, you get to walk away from it knowing you did the right thing. When people get upset about somebody walking away from them, usually the reason that they are upset is because maybe they played a role in it. And so they go, oh man, I feel really bad. But in this situation, you're being honest. You didn't play any negative role in it. And I'll tell you this too. If your sister rejects you as a result of you being honest and saying this to her, remember that rejection is God's ultimate and perfect plan for your protection. Remember that phrase. In fact, I have that written in my wallet. I have it written down and it's in my wallet. Rejection is God's ultimate and perfect plan for your protection. Guys, chicks, remember that the next time somebody dumps you. And you are not a bad, you haven't done anything to, you know how you talk to some people, Eddie, you know, sometimes we've had people in our lives that are really good guys, right? And they will tell us like this chick just kind of out of nowhere, she dumped me, man. And I treat her really good and we know they treat her good. And I don't know what's up, man. And I want her back so bad and I just don't know what to do. Rejection is God's ultimate and perfect plan for your protection. So I say, I say be honest.
Be honest, okay? Yeah, my husband says the same thing, but then, you know, he also says, well, the most you can lose is the non-communication that you've had for years. Exactly. Exactly. You know what I mean? Sure. Sure. You know what I mean? She's got to want that, too, though, Islander. You're not the only one that has to want the relationship. That's why I keep hoping that it's that extended arm I've been praying for for years and years and years that, you know, it comes with conditions, and that's not right. Yep. Well, I say good luck to you. I hope it works out. Oh, thank you, Mikey. You got it. Thanks for calling. That's an interesting one. I mean, we've heard stuff like that before in our lives, right? And don't base who can race on age. But they do base it on height. So B-Rob's in trouble. That does make sense. Uh.
This one says, hey, Mikey, tell Ashley that I vote the way my dad does as well. Dad's rule. Assigned P1 Nicky T. Hey, Mikey, thank you for helping me to see the brighter side of rejection. It's P1 Miranda. Wow. Gracias, Miranda. That's Spanish. That's Spanish talk. It means thank you in my native tongue. Your Mexican-ness is what defines you. That's what I've always said, is that my Mexican-ness is what defines me. Let's see. Okay, so I said that I was going to tell you about the Massachusetts restaurant owner, and I've got to get to an email here in just a second, but I told you I wanted to tell you about a Massachusetts restaurant owner that stopped a robber from robbing him.
By hitting the robber in the face with a frozen ham. That is true. Skye has the details. Who did you send, Ramsey or the Boo? I sent them both. Really? Who screwed it up? This story has nothing to do with me. They both screwed it up. I knew perfectly well what this man used as a weapon, and they were supposed to steal it from him. Right. But instead, they were hit in the face. And I was never able to retrieve frozen ham. I was spoiled again. I'm sorry. I was spoiled again. That story has nothing to do with me in Massachusetts. You sound like a good plan, Sky. I thought it was a good plan. You know, Boo was going to distract the guy. Ramsey was in the getaway chopper. That was the plan. And unfortunately he hit Boo in the face. That is correct. With the ham. That is correct. Knocking him out. Yes. And not being able to retrieve your ham. Yes. And then, like a coward, Ramsey left the boo and flew home. Oh, that's not good. And I said, you coward, where is the boo? And, well, you know what he said. He said that stuff. Ramsey, tell him what you said. I said, where's the boo? I said, there he is. He's standing there. Where'd you leave the boo? Why isn't he here? I had to get away. That's exactly right. No, Ramsey, it's not exactly right. You said you had to get. I had to get away. No.
No way. You had to get away. Don't you do it. Try it. Don't you do it. You're saying it. Stop it. Frozen ham. It's a ham story. I didn't even hear it. It's like Christmas Eve. Only once a year. Spectacular when it happens. I didn't even talk about it. It's like Haley's ham. That's right. You guys just made up. Once every 76 years, you see a ham story come across your plate. Well said. You honey glaze it and you give it to the P1s. That's what you do. It's in our bones. I'll say it is. Good one. Yummy, yummy in my tummy. Got all covered. Eeny, meeny, miny, ham.
I can't read the rest of it. It's racist. I was reading from a little... No, don't do that. I can't read it. I wouldn't. Anyway, back to you, Sky 2. What happened? Well, in Massachusetts, in Gloucester, Rob? Gloucester. Gloucester. Gloucester. Gloucester. Gloucester. Gloucester. Gloucester. Gloucester. I'm sorry. Gloucester. Well, that's what it looks like. Yeah. But it's not. Gloucester. Gloucester, there you go. Okay, well. Gloucester, we meet again. I've got you this time, Gloucester. Whatever. You shall not defeat me, Gloucester. I've faced the likes of you before. In fact, last week I fought Rhode Island. What are you talking about? about. I fought Greenwich. Your brother Warchester. Anyway. Your little cousin Peabody yesterday. Telling me about your arrival today.
So this guy owns a restaurant there, and he saw some guy stealing a bunch of frozen meat out of his freezer. So he went after him, and he grabbed the closest thing to him, which was a frozen ham as a weapon. Lead up. You're drooling. Yes, Skye, please put a bib on. Don't hurt. There was a bit of an altercation, and the restaurant owner took the frozen ham and slammed it into the man's face. Oh, my. Making a nice big gash in his face. Are you sure you wouldn't mind that? Yeah, I would love it. I'd love it. Hit me in the face with a ham. Make sure you say, tell me to open one. So, at that point, the robber dropped all the stolen meat and ran away and is still at large. Honey baked. Duh. All right, so take a listen to this, guys. Tell me what you think. Says, Mikey, I really need your advice. I proposed to my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago after our three-year anniversary. She unfortunately said no. Oh, my gosh. That's always bad. She had a few different reasons why that I won't go into detail here about. She said she does love me, though.
and eventually wants to marry me down the road. I was crushed, but am trying to understand her reasons. She still wants to be with me and move forward with our relationship. My friends and family are saying that this is a scary sign. That if we've been together this long, and she still isn't ready to marry me, then we should break up. We're both in our late 20s, so we aren't kids. I'm not sure what to do. Got any advice? That's signed P1Ethan. This is a tough one. I mean, listen, they've been together for three years. Now, the only thing that is a little bit confusing is that we don't really know all the details. We don't know why she feels this way.
You know, there could be a lot of things that P1 Ethan is leaving out. Like, what if? I'm just saying hypothetically. What if he is leaving things out like, you know, Mikey, I've cheated on her. Ouch. Or, you know, Mikey, I forgot to tell you that I've actually done this before and bailed. Some guys do that. I'm unemployed. I'm unemployed. Now, if we take it just at face value, he's not done any of these things. It's been a perfect guy. They've been together for three years. Nothing's gone wrong. He proposes. She says no. I guess it's the same exact thing as if it were reversed and a girl wanted a guy to marry her. You just have to make a choice, Ethan. In my opinion, you've got to say, well, it's not worth it to me. It's going to hurt too much to be in a relationship with this chick. And I know she's not willing to marry me. She's not willing to spend the rest of her life with me. But everybody's got to grow. You know what I mean? I mean, like Ashley's only 24. She probably wouldn't want to get married right now. You know, Rob, well, Rob's different. He's 25. He does want to get married right now. I can't wait. Zeth just turned 23. He probably wouldn't want to get married right now.
That has a lot to do with it, maybe your age, maybe her maturity level. Eddie, what do you think? Here's one big thing that was kind of a tip-off for me, and it's that if you've been together three years and haven't even had that conversation of getting married, because obviously they haven't had that conversation, If he proposed and she said no. Yeah. Because when usually you propose, you know the girl's going to say yes. Yeah. Because you've had conversations about it and, you know, you're excited and you're at that point. Yeah. So if you haven't had that conversation and he just popped the question without discussing it with her at all, that's a sign to me that this relationship is in trouble. And you're right. It's pretty clear they haven't talked. Yeah. You know, that there's probably a lack of communication going on and there's something going on. And so the fact that she said no, I don't know that you can recover from that. That's a tough thing to recover from. Text us at 35253 and call us at 5701053. Especially dudes, I want to hear what you guys would think because this is a dude that's saying it.
This guy has been dating his girl for three years. Just asked her to marry him. She said no. What would you do? You're listening right now. What would you do? Would you say, hey, you know what? I love her enough. I'll stick it out and I'll wait until she's ready. Or would you go, hey, man, three years. Give me a break. Are we going to do this or not? Sky, what do you think? Man, well, it's so tough. Sitting where we're sitting, just like reading an email. I mean, my gut immediately is like, yeah, this relationship doesn't have a chance, you know, at this point. Something's going on that we don't know about or she's just not really into him because basically like everything you guys have said, three years, no communication prior, all that stuff's concerning. But then when I put myself in this guy's shoes and he probably loves this girl to death and she's saying to him, I love you, but I'm just not ready right now. That must be, you know, horrible to walk away from. Like, how can you walk away from that girl if she's telling you she loves you and she wants to be with you, just she can't marry you yet? So, I don't know. I'm, like, all over the map with this one. If you think about it from all, you know, I'm married, Eddie's married, Sky's married, Sean's married, Rob's going to be married pretty soon. If you think about it from our perspective, from the guy's point of view, like Eddie said, we knew what our ladies were going to say.
And Sky, probably from your perspective, you knew what you would say. Oh, yeah, definitely. It was a no-brainer. Yeah. So, I think you hit it, dude. Like, if he's asking, and he doesn't even, like, he didn't know she was going to say no. Something's wrong. Dude, what are you up to? Right. P1 Eric, are you there? Yeah, I'm here, man. Yeah, go ahead, dude. She needs to leave him. Really? Yeah, because if I had a girl that wanted me to marry her and I wasn't ready to, I'd say no, and then I'd realize, okay, I have to end this because she's got all these high anticipations of moving the relationship forward. If I'm with a chick for three years and I don't want to marry her, time to move on, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's actually true, man. Yep, because you don't want to leave her on and break her heart. Yeah, this chick should be saying to the dude, hey, listen, it's been three years. I'm not feeling it. Maybe this isn't going anywhere. Kick him to the curb. I got a side dish. There you go. Well said. Unless your name is Kurt Russell or Goldie Hawn. You either break up or get married. You know, something's got to give. Zeth, this is going to be a very powerful thing for you to hear. Because you've got a new girlfriend, right? Right. I got news for you. You're either going to break up. Mike, don't do it. Way to go, Mike. Or...
Get married. He's right. He is. You're going to do one of those things. Ashley. Just got her new boyfriend last week, right? Why are you doing this to them? It's the truth. Well, I know it's the truth. It's something, I mean, it's scary to hear it. Well, that's what I'm saying. I'm not scared. I don't care. Ashley don't care. Marriage is overrated. I never said I was getting married. Hey, listen. You're tripping. Hang on a second. Marriage is overrated. I don't even think this is a big deal. Life partners, Tony Gonzalez. Hang on. Who cares? It's a certificate. Commitment partner. Quite frankly, most marriages come out in divorce nowadays anyways, so people jump in the gun. screw it all. Oh no. Ashley? It's not even a big, this email's not even a big deal. Ashley? What's up? You're either gonna break up or get married. No, no, no. Break up, you're gonna get married. One of the two. Maybe, maybe not. Not if I don't want to. So you think you'll be like Goldie Hawn?
And Kurt Russell, where you guys would just be together, boyfriend and girlfriend, for 25 years. Depends on how I feel. Like, if in three years we're together and I'm not ready to get married, we're not going to get married. Have you talked to him? No. And you know what? If he doesn't support that or like it, then it won't work out. Wait a second. I don't care. That's the way I feel. Question. Answer. Oh, no. You have not discussed with your current boyfriend that... You just may not feel like getting married. Well, he knows that I have immense abandonment issues. That's all he knows. I mean, we've only been dating for a little over two months, so we haven't really dived into the whole marriage conversation yet. We're not like Rob and Sarissa. You know what I mean? What is going on? Shot at Rob for no reason. Not in a mean way. It's a different way to sail your boat. Why would anybody take it? It's a different way to sail your boat. That's all I'm saying. One crashes into the rocks and the other one... I'm sailing my boat another way. It's however you want to sail it. Float on it, whatever. Wow, that boat is warped. Ashley, let me pretend for a moment. Let me pretend for a moment. Wait, what? Let me pretend I'm your boyfriend. Let me pretend I'm your boyfriend.
Let me pretend I'm not a healthy relationship. I'm not comfortable with that. I'm your boyfriend, Mark. I don't want to. Come on, you can do it. I'm feeling uncomfortable. And, you know, this is good practice for you. It could be good practice. You'll, you know, this is a conversation that at some point will probably take place. Hey, babe, you know, I don't think we've ever talked about, like, what your thoughts on marriage are. What do you think about marriage? He calls me baby. Hey, baby. Yeah. Ashley gets caught up on words sometimes. She wants the specific words. Whatever. That he would say. So, baby. Now, does he say it like that, or does he go, baby? No, it's fine. Okay, all right, all right. I just want to make sure that I got it. Bye-bye. That's right. I'm sorry, baby. Hey, baby. Okay. Obnoxious. Yeah, say it, baby. Definitely not like that. It's all, baby. Baby, we've never talked about marriage before, so I'm curious. What do you think? What are your thoughts on marriage? Marriage? Marriage?
It scares me because they come from a family of divorce and it wrecked me when my parents split up. And I'm scared for my kids and I'm scared for myself. So marriage is, you know, it's a big deal and definitely frightening. I can understand that, baby. Yeah, baby. But I guess my question is, are you saying that you're opposed to it or like maybe you would? Have we been dating for three years already? No, no, no. I'm having this conversation right now. Well, I just like we kind of got to see where things go. And I just don't want to put any expectations on our relationship. Things are really great the way they are. I see. We just see where it takes us. Okay. Well, I think that sounds great. Except for, you see, before I invest another moment into this relationship, I'm not saying that I want to marry you. I don't know that I want to marry you either. But what I do want to know.
is that it is not out of the question. Because if it's out of the question, then I can't proceed. If it's that solid that you, you know, no way. Because, I mean, I want to one day fall in love and be married. I understand. And so I just want to know that you're not completely closed off to the idea of getting married. Because if that's the case, you know. Well, you know, love of my life. Yeah. I think you're amazing. I wouldn't say that it's... Are we breaking up right now? Wait. Oh, no. Are we breaking up? What is... What? Listen. Why are you packing that suitcase? I'm just saying that it's not completely out of the question. She's talking and packing the suitcase right now. All I'm saying is that... And I don't think that we should base our relationship on the future of getting married. It's over. I think we should base our relationship on communication, love, trust, honesty, and the happiness that we live.
With each other. Future's not in there. Because you are my love of my life. And I care for you deeply. You are my buddy. Wow. Who I'm attracted to sexually. Wow. We have to hang out. And it's fun. I don't think that I can continue with this relationship. We're broken up. Thank you. Oh, no. There's the woman I'm sexually attracted to. This text says, hey, Mikey, maybe this chick is seeing someone else. Okay. Next text says, Mikey, leave her. She's not done fooling around on him. That is the consensus in the text messages. Mikey, I agree with Eddie. It should definitely be hard to recover from that. I say drop the chick. It's P1 Nathan Explosion. This one says, Mikey, maybe she is in school or career focused. Really? Mikey, bottom line, she still loves another man and doesn't want to mess up how things are. And last text message says, three years isn't really that long nowadays. Our text number is 35253 if you want to text us. We got a lot of people on hold that want to comment on this. Got an email from P1Ethan who said that he asked his girlfriend at three years to get married. She said no. He wants to know, what do I do? Stay in this thing? Your call's next.
So you're the guy who pooped in my tuba. Hi there, welcome to Volkswagen. How can I help you? Yeah, good, you're open. Listen, I just heard that you can lease any Volkswagen for zero due at signing. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Who was that guy? West 78, man, you're going to have a busy ride coming off the 15 through San Marcos. There's a bad injury crash near Woodland Parkway that's causing that backup. Southpond's under the 15, though, looking great out of Escondido for the most part. Just a brief delay through Carmel Mountain Ranch. Your coaster ride on Southpond 5, staying tough out of Encinitas down into Solana Beach. Westbound 56, also a tight ride here from Camino del Sur through Carmel Valley over to the 5 freeway. The westbound 52, a fine looking ride to the Santee, but a little so coming underneath the 805 into San Clemente Canyon. West 8, good to go all the way to the valley, but you will so from Hotel Circle to the 5 freeway. That's because the 5 has got some breaklights out of Old Town in the Mission Bay. The West 94 King Freeway, clear all the way to downtown. That's a beautiful Lincoln Freeway. And both the 5 and the 805 northbound, much better out of the South Bay on up. The 805 slow back to go from the 163 up towards Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. And you'll find it back up in the westbound 54. There's a bad injury crash near the 805, which has gotten you backed up from before Woodman to that accident. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. I got news, P1s. It's Mikey. Here's a Mikey moment. Eddie, this is Barbara. Hello, Barbara. How are you? Fine. The reason I'm talking to you is because you're the only person that seems to make any sense on this show these days. Okay. What do you want to talk about? I'd like to talk about this whole Barack Obama thing. Yeah. And you talked about this in the news, Sky. You can't deny it. What? Sky announced last week. That it was Barack Obama who was putting all those meds in our drinking water. No, I did not say it. She did not report that. You're putting out false information because you're supporting Hillary Clinton. Right? I take back what I said about you, Eddie. Well, no. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Who is this? This is nice. It's Keisha Cole. Keisha Cole in the song is... The little kid from the Cosby Show? Yeah. That is... She grew up to be such a good singer. That's really cool. Really beautiful. It's 835. Diddy is calling the LA Times irresponsible for their story linking him to Tupac's murder. Tempest Blitzo on backing vocals. Yankees are doing something pretty cool today. They're actually going to play Virginia Tech in an exhibition game. Nice. Wow. It's a terrible thing to say. No, it's not. It's a little rude. I mean, they're doing something cool.
Terrible thing to say about Virginia Tech. Let me read you a couple of text messages that are coming in. First of all, let me kind of reset what we're talking about. A guy named Ethan wrote us and said, Hey Mikey, I've been dating this girl three years. Just asked her to marry me. She said no. What should I do? Should I stick this thing out and stay with a girl that after three years said no? So... And then Ashley was saying... In a very warped way. In a very dysfunctional way. She was saying, hey, listen, I had to see a divorce in my family. I don't want to go through that. And so marriage is overrated and it's not really necessary. So here are the text messages that are coming in. Mikey, tell him to give this girl the boot and get another girl. There's always someone else willing to do the dishes and wash your chonies. Ew!
2008. Check a calendar. Oh, wow. Next text says, Mikey, Ashley sails her boat like the captain of the Titanic. Relationship right ahead. Yes. P1, big C. Next one says, I completely agree with Ashley. P1, babe. Babe. It's baby. Ash. I wonder if... That's from my wife because that's what I call her. So I wonder if that came. I call her babe. Next one says, Mikey, if you want to be with someone for the rest of your life, which is what marriage is, why wouldn't he just stick around to see if they last? I agree with Ashley. That's signed P1 Alicia. Who says that's what marriage is? Marriage ends up in divorce more than not nowadays. This girl's agreeing with you though, Ash.
What? But I still hate her. I did listen. I got a lot of hate in my heart. Just let me get it out. In fact, I really just want to talk. I don't need to listen. It says, if you want to be with someone for the rest of your life, which is what marriage is, why wouldn't you just stick around to see if it lasts? I agree with Ashley. Do you get it? I don't get that. But I don't agree with her when she says that marriage is what you're doing. That's what marriage is supposed to be, right? Right. That's what she's saying. If that's what it's supposed to be, then why do you have to get married? Why not just stick it out? She makes a great point. I love that. She's saying, listen, marriage is for life. And so if this whole idea is that I'm going to be with you the rest of my life, we have a while before we have to get married. What's the rush? Absolutely. Yeah, totally. I hate that lady. No, I agree with her. I have a crazy suggestion. I have a crazy suggestion for Alicia, who I'm going to go out on a limb and say, maybe comes from divorce, but I have a suggestion. You guys may think this is crazy. But what if you were to work out the issues that you have from the divorce of your parents?
Mike, don't be dumb. That's stupid, right? That is stupid. I'm saying maybe the reason that you would do that is because if you work those issues out, then maybe you would be ready for a healthy relationship. Mike, have you ever heard the saying, bottle it all up, it makes you feel better? I hadn't heard that, but I like it. I like it. I like it. I like it. So is Skye insinuating that I bottle it all up? Wait a minute. There's another one, too. There's another one, too. There's another one, too. You're forgetting. Oh, no. I'm not talking about you. What about... Sean? Are you forgetting the old adage, this one works good, too? Oh, yeah. Repeat the cycle. That's a good one, too. I have heard that one. That's a good one, too. I don't even get that. Was that a shot at me? No, no, no. Ash, if you're been working on it, but you're still where you are, I would say... I didn't say him. still where I am. But you did. You were saying that you feel this way. No, I'm saying that... I heard you. You still feel this way. With my abandonment issues? Let me explain. Let me explain. I don't want to. No, no, no. Emotional avalanche! St. Bernard! Eddie's raising up from the frothy depths of the ocean. Now, hear me out on this one. Hear me out. I like it on you.
Ash, how long have you been seeing your current therapist? Therapist? I haven't got a therapist. And that's what I'm saying. You see, that's what I'm saying. My whole point was maybe you get a therapist and you work through these issues and then you'll be ready for a healthy relationship. But that's not what I'm saying. I know. I know that's not what you're saying. I'm responding to what you said. I know, but that's not what I'm saying. Your response to what I said... What are you saying? I'm saying that marriage is overrated, that people base... Did you think I didn't hear that? Yeah, that's what he's responding to. That's what I'm responding to. No, I know, but me and my abandonment issues... does not stray away from the fact that marriage is overrated and that a certificate is whatever and that people look too far into that and they don't realize that what they've got is great and why ruin it. Maybe, though, what we're saying, though, is maybe you wouldn't feel that way if you didn't have those abandonment issues. Exactly. Yeah, I know, but that's, I mean, this is something that... But I like them. I like these issues. They feel good. They fit good.
I don't know. They're like an old pair of slippers. I just really, I'm not worried about it right now. I'm only 24. Ash, I know women that are 34 got the same issue. And the reason they do is because when they were 24, they said that. They were like, you know what? I got all the time in the world. And before you know it, you're 34 years old. Yeah. It happens. It's true. Now, Ashley, I'm telling you. I just want to get in there. I'm telling you that. No, you don't. The thing that happened to you is not always the way it goes. My parents have been married for 50 years. 50. Eddie's parents have been married for many, many years. I think that's the best. Marriage, I'll tell you, I think marriage is underrated.
I think marriage is under- If it's a good marriage. If it's a good marriage. Like, Sky and Mr. Sky, perfect example. I want to have a husband that is like a relationship, like Sky and Mr. Sky. When they- How long have you been married, Sky? Seven years? And you guys are like still so in love and obsessed with each other? That's awesome. I support that. That's what I would love to have. Well, you can find that. That's what we're talking about, Ash. You gotta deal with some of these feelings about- marriage and your issues that you have, and if you don't deal with them, you're not going to find that kind of relationship. Ashley, you can have that. No, I know. I agree with you. I just don't see the need to rush or force it on anyone. I feel like when you're ready, you can do that. Nobody's saying you've got to get married tomorrow. And I found my Mr. Sky when I was 19 years old, so... You know, if you just because you want to work on these issues now doesn't mean you have to get married now, but just so you can be open to it. So when you're Mr. Sky comes along, you're ready. Can I tell you, this is the reason that I think it would be so important is because until those issues and this is not this is for every man and woman listening right now that can relate to what Ashley said. Oh, man. If you're listening right now and you're a guy or a girl and you're young and you're not married.
And your parents went through an awful divorce. And you have memories of that. And you go, I don't really think marriage looks all that great. And I think it's overrated. And there's no rush. If that's you. The reason that I think that it's important that you get in and you get all that stuff resolved is because even if you don't get married, let's say we give you a big slice of what you want. not getting married, okay? We give it to you. You are still going to, between now and the time you die, be in relationships. And that marriage between your mom and dad that didn't work out is going to affect those relationships. Whether it's friendships, whether it's boyfriend-girlfriend relationships, everything is affected by it. But, well, maybe it is for... No, no, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. It might not be fine. It might actually be Serio and the other guy and the other guy and the other guy. It could be those guys. Now, the new guy, Mark, seems very sweet. Mark is the best. But the other guys, they didn't work. And I'm telling you that maybe part of the reason that they didn't work is because that stuff wasn't resolved. Now, you're going, I don't need it, whatever. I'm saying, what if, though? What if you...
I'm not disagreeing with any of that. You don't disagree? No. Oh, we're in agreement. Yeah. We're all good. Yeah. I'm just saying that I think that people settle too often, and that's a perfect example. That email, you know, well, she says no, so I'm out of here. It's like, well, that sucks, you know, because maybe she's not ready yet, and why would that force her to settle as opposed to breaking up? Why don't you guys just enjoy each other, be happy, and maybe when she's ready, you can make a commitment go further. Because two people, they want different things. You're saying if she had said yes to you, she would be settling. How is she not settling because she said no? I feel like by him saying, well, if the answer is no, if you won't say yes, I will marry you, then I'm going to break up with you, would then force her to either settle or get off the pot, which would maybe be a pot she'd really like to sit on. And she doesn't want to get off yet. Yeah, but don't you think that it would be extraordinarily selfish to continue to sit on that pot? Why is it selfish? Like, who says that marriage has to be at a certain... I sit on your lap. Why is it... I sit on your head. I'll sit on your head. Why is it selfish? It's selfish, but... Oh, no. Sit on your pot. This is what I do. I sit on you. Sit on you. Sit on you. This is what I do. I sit on you.
Right on your lap. Just because I sit on you doesn't mean that I want to marry you. Just means that I enjoy your company. This is what I do. I use you. Use you. Use you. This is what I do. I use you. And take those years on you. I'm not using you. I love you, but that doesn't mean I want to marry you. In fact, why are you... Like an emotional tampon. It's really... C. Great. What happens is you can use up those years. Those are good years, man. Those are good years. Those are good years. To do what, bro? To do what? What can you do when you're married that you can't do when you're not married? It's a freaking certificate. No, dude. It's a freaking dress and leggings. I've heard that. You're totally wrong. It's a freaking dress and leggings. See? P1 John. Yes.
What do you think about this girl that Ethan asked to marry him? She said no after three years. She said no. I think what she really means by no is I'm going to wait for something better to come along. That's possible. Possible. Don't know. Possible. It's not what Ashley's deal is, but it's possible. Ashley's deal is she's afraid of the marriage. I'm so beyond scared that he would leave me that I'm not even ready to commit to that. Because the last thing I would ever want to do is put my kids through what I went through. And that's the deepest part of it. That is fair. Part of the thing is the fact that you look at marriage as just a certificate. It's not just a certificate. It is the ultimate commitment. And that is ultimately what you are afraid of. Right. And I understand. Your experience with it and many people that are listening right now, your experience with it is that it didn't work. And the two people that you loved and trusted the most, it didn't work. So that's your model to go by. So you go, oh man, no way. I'm not going to go through that. That was terrible. That makes sense. But what I am telling you is I do believe that you can come to a point through therapy where it's resolved.
where it's resolved and they will and it will also give you tools to find the guy who will not do that to you he will not do that to you well and the guy that i'm with now mark he is so um i don't know there's something about him that i feel like really like i can talk to him about anything and he understands and he really i mean it's really cool so you know who knows what'll happen because it's definitely going really amazing right now. So you guys are engaged is what you're saying? Have you heard how great he is? He's so cool and handsome and makes me laugh. I really am a fan of him. Oh, you sound like a lucky girl. You know, so... I really love him. I do. I mean, what? And I really love his company. And so, if you're listening, Mark... Will you marry me? Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Shut your mouth. Mike didn't catch it. You shut the hell up. Wow. Is it good I didn't miss something? No, we're fine and we're moving on. And I really hope his dad is not listening right now because I think he is. So that's cool too. Mark's dad? Yeah. Say anything. I am it to me. I definitely did not say anything. He won Bailey. Send me the IM2. She said she loves him and then caught herself. Holy Talita. Wow. That is a shame.
It was a trivial slip. You haven't said the L word. Trivial slip? Is that what she said? It was a proverbial slip. Ah, the old proverbial slip. I like when Skye looks at me and mouths... Or sometimes I'll look at Skye and she'll mouth to me, I don't know. We're lost. Mikey, I totally agree with Ashley. I've been with my fiancé for eight years. And he would marry me today if I wanted. That's from P1 Froggy. I'm a please guy. No, not yet. It's Ashley. No, not yet. Eight years? Just wait. What's the rush? I just want to let the girl that I... P1 Froggy, I just want to let your guy know it's going to be eight more. And then after that, it's going to be eight more after that. Don't say that. Dude, the deal is that they're afraid. Well, I mean, they're going to be common law soon, right? Yeah, aren't you common law after seven years? That's romantic. Wow. See, this is what you don't understand either, Froggy and Ash. This is what you don't understand. Apparently, you've decided that you never want kids. Me? That's changed. I think I do want a couple. Oh, you do want kids? Yeah.
But I don't think that you... Listen, maybe you would do that and not be married, but I don't think you would. No, I wouldn't. You would have to be married. It's a package deal. Right, it's a package deal. So be married, then you have the kids. That's how you're supposed to do it, right? It is how you're supposed to do it. That is correct, Ash. I was thinking about doing it out of wedlock. A couple of different fathers. I don't know. Aren't you supposed to be phone screening right now? That's my question. All done. No calls at all. So here's my question. I'm in on this. You're not going to have kids until you get married. Right. You're not going to have kids until you get married. And so this can potentially go on for a while. Now, you will deny yourself of kids if you have the fear and you don't commit to the marriage. Just like Froggy. Like this guy would marry her right now, she says. P1 Froggy. Marry me right now. But the fear will keep you from getting married. And so you will deny yourself of kids. But even if you don't have kids, the fear is I don't want to get married, have kids, have him leave and it devastate those kids like it devastated me. But I'm going to tell you, you don't need kids to be devastated by him. Froggy, you don't need kids to be devastated by this guy. I know you're not marrying him. So what are you saying? I'm saying that.
not getting married, what you think is, if I don't get married, I'm protecting myself from the pain I went through. You're actually not. Because if they cheat on you while you're dating, not married, dating, it will devastate you just the same. I don't doubt that. So, that's kind of an element to take a little bit of the fear out. Like, if you're going like this, hey, listen, I don't want to go in there because I'm afraid of the dark. I'm telling you, you're already in the dark. I don't want to go in there. I don't want to go in there. I don't want to go in there because I'm afraid that there's going to be a dog in that room and I'm afraid of dogs. Hey, there's already a dog in the room. You just don't see it. It's already. So that's a big part of it. P1 Rihanna is on the line. Love your music. Love it. Hi, Rihanna. Anna. Anna. Is that how you say your name, Rihanna? Rihanna? Rihanna. Hello. Oh, I beg you to be there. Oh, hello, hello. Yes, Rihanna. Yes, stretching out of San Diego County, now into the deep Broadway Mountains, and going over the hill and just cresting into the Ramona Valley. Hello. Testing, testing, come in. P1 Bailey is on the line. Well, hello. Well, hello. Bottom line, I think at this...
woman really saw a future with this guy, she would at least get engaged and bring it to the next level because it doesn't mean you have to get married that week. You can at least wait a couple years, feel the water, see if you like taking the next level with your man. And basically if she doesn't want that, then he's wasting his time. And I can see Ashley's point being scared, but if you're scared, you're not going to get anywhere being scared. You're just going to lose the man you love the most. Thank you very much, Bailey. We talked about how awesome Mark is. Yes, we have. He's so cool. Hey, Mikey, tell Ashley, don't sit on the pot too long. We all know what happened to that girl that wouldn't come out of the bathroom. That's right. Think about this. That's right. It's P1XT now. Our text number is 35253. Doing a P1 party at K1 Speed on Friday. We hope you're there. I'm having a good show today. We're having a fun time. Awesome.

And Ashley. I will use an obscene amount of toilet paper. The Mikey Show is on. It's kind of like a stink lineup. Sure, yes. You know. Rock 5-3. The Sam. Shawnee, was that you? Welcome back. It's 9-0-4. A judge ruled yesterday that Britney Spears will have to pay $375,000 worth of KFED's legal bills. USD gets a number 14 seed, the women do, and they draw Cal in the NCAA Women's Tournament. The NCAA Women's Tournament. I can't remember the last time we did a topic that was this polarizing. Yeah, dude. I got more texts and emails in front of me than I've had in months from one single topic. The topic is we got an email from this dude, and we're going to move on right now. It's just so overwhelming. I've got to give you some of this. This guy named P1Ethan wrote me. Yeah.
and he said that uh he asked his girlfriend to marry him they've been going out for three years she said no he wants to know what do i do do i move on do i stay in this relationship what do i do and it got us into this whole conversation with ashley about commitment ashley says marriage is overrated you know why is this guy tripping out just because the girl doesn't want to marry him that doesn't you know oh well i mean sometimes people don't want to get married uh This email says, Mikey, I've been a hardcore P1 for a couple of years. I'm so hardcore that I turned my radio down while I was typing this email. Cute. Anyway, I agree with Ashley about marriage. It's overrated. Most marriages do end in divorce. I think that marriage just makes breaking up more stressful. Love the show. Signed, P1 Big Griff. Mikey, the operating question here is, if the only reason to not get married is that you may get a divorce, then? In the context of Ashley's reasoning, what's the difference between being with someone for years, living together, perhaps having children, and breaking up, and the same thing but being married that whole time? What's the difference? That is not reason. That is emotion. I have to agree. Same result would happen. I have to agree. What's the difference between... I have a comment on that. Go ahead. The only difference that I would...
foresee in that is i just feel like a lot of people once they get themselves into marriage it's a lot easier said than done getting out but if you're in a relationship you can just break up and you're done you know as opposed to being married and especially if there's kids involved it's a lot harder to get out of a relationship that maybe you're not happy and maybe it's a relationship you settled isn't it the opposite it's much harder to get out of a marriage than it is to get out of just a relationship yeah that's what she said she's saying But I think it's the same. If you're living together, if you mixed your stuff together, if you're making babies, whether you're married or not, it's difficult. Well, but I don't think so. Because I think that with the marriage comes so much. The wedding, all the money that gets put into the wedding, the preparation and planning for that. Not to mention like... But you're making preparation and planning for a breakup. You're essentially saying, I want to make sure my breakup goes really well. In fact, I want to make sure that my breakup goes the easiest it possibly can. And so... I'll make sure I don't get married. That'll mean the easiest breakup because I'm assuming there's going to be one. So I'm going to plan for it. How do I want to plan for my breakup? Real hard or a little bit easier? You're planning your breakup. That's what I'm saying is with people who get married too quickly and that's why I think that you shouldn't have to rush it. That's what I'm saying. Even if three years is too long for someone, it might not be for someone else. You know what I mean? I know what you mean. Every relationship is different. I just don't think that you should put
I just don't think that you should put a time frame and what is normal and what should be expected with marriage or anything in a relationship. The same goes for too early. Right. With getting married too early? Yeah, sure. Yeah, sure. But that's what I'm saying is I feel like, you know, it's not the same as being in a relationship for eight years versus being in a relationship for eight years, married for six. I think there's a big difference in terms of difference. What you're missing is that what doesn't change is the amount of pain you go through. In terms of breaking up? Sure. Sure. I feel like with divorce and maybe if you guys bought a house together, joint checking accounts, who knows what goes into being married as opposed to being just in a relationship. Maybe you guys have your own different houses. Who knows? I think it could be a lot less extreme. If you plan to not get married because you're afraid of how the divorce could be, then you're planning a breakup. You're just planning for an easier one. I just consider it not settling.
Mikey, I went through a horrible marriage and subsequent divorce seven years ago. In the years following the end of my marriage, it seemed like I would only date losers. It was only until I went to therapy that I realized I was deliberately choosing losers to avoid commitment and love because I was terrified of commitment. I was so afraid of being vulnerable again. Soon, after becoming more open to a healthy relationship, I met the most amazing man. I went from being adamant about not getting married, to looking forward to it because I've dealt with my issues. Sincerely hope Ashley will consider therapy because it can make an amazing change in her outlook on relationships. Thanks, P1 Cherie. I like her. That was a good email. I know, I agree. I like it. Hey, Mikey, my parents were divorced when I was eight. Haven't spoke to my father in about five years. Bugs me when people, for example, try to blame their lack of commitment on their parents' divorce. My sister is happily married, my brother's engaged, and I've been married for almost three years. If you look at marriage like a piece of paper, you're just not ready because of your commitment issues, not your past. Mikey, the same thing happened to me as this guy. I was seeing a very special woman. Her name was Sean's mom. I asked her to marry me. She, of course, turned me down, citing that she wanted to play the field. That spicy tuna wanted to spawn in the open ocean.
That's signed P1 Instigator. Thank you, Instigator. Of course it is. We appreciate the email. We always appreciate it. We sincerely appreciate the email. That is messed up. I think we should go in the HOA room and talk about this, Sean. Appreciate it. Sean, it's on our side. Eddie, Sean, and Sky have been playing Big Brother off the air. Oh, that sounds fun. And so they are all IMing each other. Well, there were some talks, Mike. Doing some scamming. We were in the jacuzzi and, you know, I decided to have a little chat. That's not all you decided to do. Well, we'll see what happens. You'll have to watch BBAD for that. Things happen. We'll see. Well, let's listen to what it sounds like when you are in a happy marriage. Cut four. Paul was offering a lot less than that, which you'll see in the judgment. And very much last minute to put me in being just sadly through this has been incredibly sad. So we're very, very, very pleased. And what I'd like to say, being a campaigning girl, is anybody wanting to go through a divorce, hardest man or woman, to settle it immediately. But if you're in an impossible situation, which anybody listening will know that
You know, people don't see eye to eye. Things get out of hand. You can be a litigant in person. It's not easy. But just make sure you do all your research. Save yourself a fortune. I have to go through the pain of only getting 40, 50 million. Oh, my God. Wow. And we all know that's painful. That woman does not do herself any favors. That was brutal, yeah. Oh, what about this cut, though, Scott? This will make you a fan. Okay, okay, maybe it'll turn me around. I think this will turn you around on her because I think that your perception of her is that she's ungrateful or that she is, you know, money-grubbing or whatever, and I think this will turn it all around for you. Okay. Cut five. I'll read the summary to you. He proposed 15.8, and the judge decided that I should get 23.7, it says. money on security they do a thing called ad back because they say me and my daughter don't need security and paul might give it for two years but that's it which is you're going to read about in the judgment otherwise i'd never put obviously i will use my funds to get security but um beatrice only gets 35 000 pounds a year and so she obviously is meant to travel b class while her father travels a class but obviously i will pay for that so in other words uh
Paul must just want the daughter to fly coach. Well, yeah. What a scumbag. Because about 70,000 a year isn't enough. Listen, all you people listening out there, please, please, I urge you, don't let me and my daughter have to fly in coach class with black people in Mexico. Oh, no, that's terrible. Heather, that's the best thing. Do you realize how awful it is? Well, yeah, we do it every time we play. It's not that bad. Is that true? Well, yeah. It's not a big deal. Are you telling me that you've actually had to flow coach class? That's all I've ever flown. I don't know anything else. Oh, dear me. No, it's not bad. You poor thing. No, I'm fine. I'm really fine. Let me wrap my arms around you. Have you sat next to a Hispanic? Well, I am. I'm half Hispanic. Oh, for goodness sake. Now, do you still want to wrap your arms around me? Not at all. Okay, well... Not unless I put a bib on or something. Oh, that's rude. I'm a human being. That's not nice. Well, partial, right? No, stop it. Have you got any white in you at all? I don't know why that matters. Oh, trust me, it matters, Coach Flyer. You only have one leg. Well, I'll tell you one thing for sure. It's a white leg. You can trust me on that. On the rock. Hey.

Signed P1 Silly Billy. Awkward. Yes, I have. Yes, I have. Really? Oh, yeah. Doing crunches. I think it's happened. I think it's one of your most prone. Out of squats. If you're on that medicine ball, if you're ever doing anything on that medicine ball where you have to use the abdominal muscles. It just forces its way out. Yep. I think that there are probably some of you that are listening right now that think that this conversation is sophomoric. I do not mean it to be sophomoric. I simply mean it that we're all adults. We can have an adult conversation about it. That means she does it. I am the yoga. Maybe the reason that you don't want to is because women think that it's gross. It kind of is. There's no doubt about it. It kind of is. The reason that I bring it up is because it's a part of life. It's a part of life, you know, this farting at the gym. All the time. Eddie, you fart at the gym all the time? All the time. Ew! Like here in the studio you fart? Of course, everybody does. Not here in the studio. Do you really? Sometimes you crop dust, I mean, you know. Crop dust? That's a heck of a visual. The crop dust thing. Try not to, I mean, it's unavoidable. What do I do, hold it? Yes, yes, yes, please. How? Are they audible or do you figure out some way to...
He's got some sort of silencer. I got a pretty good system. You have a system worked out. A system. I think that he's got not only a system, he's got some sort of a filter, like a charcoal filter. And he's got a catalytic converter, Mike. Yeah. It converts the gas into normal smelling air. Methane. Okay, then fine. Have you guys ever embarrassed yourself at the gym in any kind of way? or experienced something at the gym that was embarrassing in this fashion. Oh, yeah. Rob? I live at the gym, so this... Oh, you're so... Oh, you're so... Oh, I'm a muscular. Look at me. I live at the gym. I can't help that my body was chiseled from stone. I can't help that. I can't help it that I've been whittled from rock. That's right, Mike. You know what I'm talking about. A couple of studs over here, you and me. What have you witnessed? Well, I've done stuff. I've walked into the bars not paying attention. You've walked into like the... Yeah, the weight. You know, like some of them, like the back extensions or something. Like I walk smack into that. I'm curious, Rob. I'm curious. When you do that, and I want you to be totally... Don't try to be funny. I want you to give me a real answer. When you do that, how do you react? What is your reaction?
When I recently did this, I did it, caught myself by surprise, didn't know what it was, so I was cussing out loud. You were angry. Yeah, because it shocked me, and it hurt like a bastard. When it happened, it almost knocked me out. I saw stars, and I was like, mother, it just went off. People were looking. I drew attention to myself. You had Tourette's. Normally, I'll just kind of pass it off. Nothing happened. Look over there. What's up? Ashley, Sky, anybody? You guys? Sean, Seth? Anybody done anything embarrassing at the gym? Witness? Sky, you kind of got to... I've tooted a time or two. But you guys aren't going to believe me. I will believe you. Before you say it, I'm already telling you, I believe you. Well, so this was back when I was working out when we were doing the weight loss challenge here on the Mikey Show. And I was going to the gym every single day. And I got to a place where I was very happy with my body. So one day I went into the gym and I was in shorts and a tank top. So the middle portion of my stomach as well as my back was like exposed. Yeah. All right. Let's all just calm down. So I... I'll admit it. It was delicious. Oh, yes.
So I had this system of how I worked out every day. And, you know, you start with like a 25-minute warm-up on the bike. And then you'd move to the mat to do the stretching and then to, you know, start doing abs, doing core work. And, well, that day I had just gotten crazy on the bike. I was all caffeinated out. And so I was sweating like mad. And I'm laying on the mat doing sit-ups. The lower part of my back was so sweaty that it would make this, like, fart noise. It would make this suction with the mat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then when I would sit up, it would sound like a fart. That's the worst. There was a very attractive gentleman doing some app work right next to me. Oh, dude. And I just, like, looked around. I tried to pull that, too, that it's the mat. Right. And then, you know, I always try to recreate it. Try to duplicate it. Well, it was the mat. It was embarrassing. Of course. It always is, right? It was embarrassing. Yeah. See? Did you look at the guy mortified? No, I looked around like, what was that noise? And then the smell was the dead cow under the mat. There was no smell, Eddie. There was no smell. Thank you very much. It wasn't a cow, Eddie. Come on, Eddie. It was a turd. Okay. Shut up. Shut up. P1 Adam? Happens. Hey, Mike. How are you? I'm good. How was that?
I was at the gym with my wife. We were running on the treadmill together. Trying to look cool. And I decided I was going to not stop, but take my sweatshirt off while running. Oh, no, you didn't. No, that's already a bad idea. And I fell. You know that movie with the Woodcock, that scene where... Oh, dude. Faceplant? It was exactly like that. Dude. Drug burn from the treadmill fell backwards. You were there with your wife? My wife is laughing. Oh, dude. Which makes it worse, man. That is funny. Makes it so much worse. Oh, if my wife laughed, I'd be so mad that she would laugh. There are other people in the gym, too, and they're like, what the heck happened? My wife's just laughing. Thank you. That's good. I bet personal trainers have a lot of stories. Oh, for sure. Like, I don't have an embarrassing gym story, but I have an embarrassing fart situation. Oh, my God. Is that relative or no? It's totally relative. Totally relative. Let me hear it. Relative. My boyfriend thinks that I, like, blame my farts on my dog, but I have never farted in front of him, and it really is my dog has really bad gas. It's a problem. Oh, really? Oh, really? No, like, she really does.
Totally. Does your dog look like Skye's mat? It's something with Puggles and I have to actually change your diet. Change your diaper while you're at it. And yours. My boyfriend thinks it's me. Listen. It'll really be a healthy experience for you to admit right now on the air that it's you. It's so good for you. It's so good for you. Just get it out there. I mean, I know I eat really weird food. Mark, I'm sorry. I fart, okay? I'm a human being. I'm a human. No, I don't think he would even care, but I'm uncomfortable doing that in front of him. You know what? Let me tell you guys. It's so weird. I do not. Puggles has this sweat pressure. Oh, I believe you. She's such a sweaty dog.
Puggles are known to flood apartments. I just want you to know that, Mark. And their farts smell like cat food. Okay, yuck. Stilled my camera last week. It's a problem. 570-1053. Let's see here. Oh, I want to hear what this sounds like. Here's the promo with Britney Spears in it for How I Met Your Mother. Cut one. Everybody's buzzing about it. See Britney Spears on How I Met Your Mother. Can we have sex and then go shopping? I like you. New episode, CBS Next Monday. Do we know what she does on the show or what she's playing or what the deal is? Like a receptionist or somebody's assistant or something like that. I've never been a fan of when they do that because, you know, it's all you're thinking the whole time is, oh, look, I'm looking at Britney Spears. Yeah, Britney Spears.
If that's the case, just have her play herself. Yeah. Didn't Brad Pitt go on Friends one time? Yeah. And did he play himself? No. See that? I mean, come on. It's Brad Pitt. Yeah. Paris Hilton's going to be on an episode of My Name is Earl, and she will play herself. That's cool. Yeah. And she's playing herself. Boo. Boo. Boo. Okay, so Eddie, you watched The Bachelor last night, right? The first half hour. All right. Now, before guys, listen, before men, as I say that, before you go, oh, dude, come on. I'm not watching it. I would. I would be watching it. It's just that I got to go to bed so early. But I think I want to play some of these clips because, well, first of all, I saw note content, which always means it's a little spicy meatball. Always good. Always good. It's a spicy meatball. I've never seen, last night was the premiere of the season.
I haven't seen this, and I'm reading the description of the clips and going, that sounds good. That sounds good. That sounds good. Let's just take a listen. Cut 37. Who wants to talk? You're a whore. 24 other girls here think so. Beat it. Peace, bitch. Stacey is absolutely out of control. Just so sick and trashy. She doesn't even deserve to be spoken about. Go get another tattoo. Are you always talking about me? She's so... appalling she gets in my way there will be words now i haven't seen the show i haven't seen the show for probably two or three years last time i watched it it was very classy so this sounds very different to me yeah it doesn't sound classy yeah has it been going this way eddie like where they've been doing this like fighting like this um not i mean it's it's bachelor doesn't really change very much
When I was watching it, I don't remember girls calling each other whores. Yeah, no, that's definitely out of character for the show. Yeah. I mean, they get into fights, you know, they're little catfights, but that's the first time these girls have met each other and they're already going at it. That's different. This guy's from London. Yeah. The bachelor's from London. He's a bit douchey. It says here... Carrie takes a bite out of an aluminum can to take the attention off Denise, who engages Matt in a political conversation. What the heck? So she's jealous, and she wants to get the attention away from her, so she takes a bite out of an aluminum can. Like a goat? Cut 34. I was in London, and one of the things that I loved most about everyone there is how politically aware they were of what was going on in America. I finally got my chance to sit down with Matt and have some... time with him. Unfortunately, it was with Denise and we were having this, like, political debate. You're a big Bush fan. I always will be. I've actually worked for him. Really? I worked for a campaign in Austin, Texas, and I worked for the White House. I worked for Carl Rowe. That was my first boss. So that was, he's considered Bush's brain. You know, she's a one-trick pony and all she's got is the serious side. So I knew that I had to make an impression. Okay, well, I'm going to liven things up. Yeah. Jeez. I put a piece to remember me by. That is, that is impressive.
It was such a contrast to the political conversation that was occurring at that point. It just cracked me up. The timing was sublime. Okay, well. I don't trust guys that use the word sublime in normal conversation. They're not talking about the band. Text message. Mikey, the right question is, where haven't you farted? That's from P1 Dano. Yeah, that's a good point. Next one says, one time I was in abs class and I accidentally farted quite loudly. Everyone stared at me and laughed. I guess it just came out. It's P1 Nathan. Hey, Mikey, when I was in weights class during high school, weights class? When I was in weights class during high school, I let one slip, attempting a deadlift max out. Everyone was watching. They all laughed. That's P1R. That's right. Mikey, I was in about seventh grade, and I was running the dot run. What's the dot run? Does anybody know? The dot run. I think it's like a fitness test.
The fitness thing? Yeah, like a test to see where you're at. All right. I was in seventh grade and I was running the dot run and I farted so loud everyone in class heard me and looked. My girlfriend was behind me. She broke up with me later that day. Wow. Oh, my gosh. Oh, that's a deal breaker. That's high school for sure. Yeah. I mean, in seventh grade. You can't survive that. No, no. Like, as an adult, if your husband cheats, it's like, we can't work this out. Where do you go from? Where are we supposed to go? Like, you've left me kind of with no other alternative. Absolutely. If you're in seventh grade and your boyfriend farts in front of you and everybody laughs at him, I don't have a choice now. See ya. You've put me in a position where I no longer have my own free will. You have now forged the course of our history. Yeah. You farted. Yeah. Anus. With your... Yeah. 35253 is our text. Feel free to text us at... Oh, how sweet. I call it an ode to the In-N-Out Arrow. Oh. Here goes. Yellow and tall, you stand as a beacon. When I see you, my legs, they feel all a weaken. Oh, In-N-Out Arrow, I love you a bunch. May the next time we meet be tomorrow for lunch. Finn, are those happy tears? Honey...

Just those usual brake lights kind of hanging on down that coastal ride on Sap on 5 out of Encinitas down towards Solana Beach. A little farther south, you've got Caltrans crews working the right-hand lanes just past the 52, and you will slow a little bit around them through Mission Bay. Other than that, everything else is at the speed looking fantastic, so just enjoy that beautiful ride for this beautiful day. Boy, it's not even too bad. Half an hour at San Icedo, about 25 minutes, no time Mesa. I'm Rick Lawrence, Rock 105.3. You know what I like best about going to a Honda dealership? You get free coffee. No, be serious. I am, and they usually have donuts and stuff, too. I'm talking about value here. Is it deals? No kidding.
Kidding. Yep. Do they tell you what kind of donuts they have too, you know? This is the Mikey Morning Show. Featuring Mikey. I consider myself kind of an old man's mentality. Eddie. Just because I read medical journals doesn't make me... Nah, I love it. Scott. Why no bad lady? Sean. My giant guy. That's ridiculous. Boston Rob. Boston Rob here with ya. And B1's Listen Up, man. And Ashley. Yes! The Mikey Show's on. We're all hilarious. Rock 105.3. I can't remember with who, like meaning who they were playing with, but... Welcome back. It's 942. It's been announced that Mariah Carey will be a mentor on this season of American Idol. Nice. Good choice. Good choice. Remember when me and my wife did a dance to this year? Yes, I do. Oh, yeah. Yes, I do. Ridiculous. That was a very fun dance and night and moment. That's kind of when I knew I wanted to be with this woman. Really? Yeah. That's pretty cool.
Hey, Mikey, whatever happened to the ref whistle for illegal use of word by Ashley? Did the sound effect burn out? No, it didn't. Let's see. I think we have it. Penalty on the show. Ashley, illegal use of word. Five jumping jacks. A jumping jack? Yeah, we got to start using that. You know what happens, P1s? We forget about... Okay, Sean. What's he doing now? Wow. How dare it? I mean, I mean. Oh, look who's looking dapper. All of a sudden, I look. Who is Sean? I'm a huge fan. First of all, where is he? I'm a fan of the guy that's in the camera. I don't know where Sean is, though. Where's Sean? He's a handsome man right there. Gorgeous. Handsome. Wow. Look. That's a look. Where is he? Hold on. What did you do with Sean? Hold on. I am not doing anything different. Oh, yes, you are. How dare you? Did you get new clothes?
I don't know. Okay, that's a yes. Wow. I look at the camera and all of a sudden Sean is wearing the most dapper polo pullover shirt. It's like him walking in in overalls. You're like, whoa, there's a big difference here. That's right. You would go, what is going on here? That's a really different look. I love it though. Yeah. Shawnee is not wearing the undershirt. He is wearing a polo pullover. All of a sudden I look over and I thought. Who's that handsome devil? Yeah. So can you tell us about this? What happened this weekend, Sean? Nothing. I got a couple clothes. What do you want? Yeah, but that's not your style. Well, my wife was in charge. I see. That's a good idea. Very good idea. Yeah, that was a good move. Tina did good. That was a very good idea. Because the old you was terrible. Shut up! That's a good point, Eddie. That's a great point. It's not cool. I mean, I hope that guy's gone. You suck. Got an email from a female here that says, Mikey, I work at a casino and the only way to get back at rude customers is to bring out the old crop dusting machine. P1, Andrea. Sometimes you gotta do that. You wanna double down there, sir? Mikey, what was the song that you played going into the break? It sounded like Third Day. P1, Alex. It was Third Day, Alex. It was Third Day.
And the song is called Come On Back to Me. Eddie says he's very Bo Bice. He kind of is. Let's see. I have a question about Sean. Go ahead. Did he accidentally switch stalls and put on somebody else's clothes? Oh, I never thought of that. I never thought of that. I don't know. Eddie, you've got to explain that, though, because there's some people... Whenever Sean goes into a stall and sits down... At work. For business. Or anywhere. Yeah. Anywhere. Anywhere there's a stall and he will be sitting in the stall. He completely removes his clothing and hangs it up. I'm not making fun here, Sean. But I don't know if you maybe switched stalls and thought...
Eddie, wait a minute. You couldn't say that with a street face, bro. You don't believe that. He doesn't believe it. I do think that it's possible. You don't think that he got confused. There was a little earthquake and everybody had to run out and then run back. I think he finished his business. He finished his business, went to go wash his hands and went, oh crap, I forgot to put my clothes back on. Went into the wrong stall. Somebody else had done the same thing. And forgotten to put their clothes on. And he put on wrong clothes. Oh, okay. Well, that makes sense. Thank you. Really? Sean, is that what happened? Is that what we're doing? No, we were wondering if that's what happened. That's all. Just the hypothesis, dude. That's right. No. Just my... Sean said one time this guy came to the stall door and he was like... And Sean did not say anything. He just stayed quiet. And so about 20 seconds later.
And so Sean still, like you would think that somebody would go occupied, you know, but Sean. It's a stall, not a bathroom, right? Not a single bathroom. It's a bathroom stall. So there's other stalls. There's other stalls, but the person's knocking. But Sean did not think to say, you know, occupied or whatever. I'm in here. Yeah, but Sean's thinking was like, hey, listen, I don't have to dignify that. It's obviously occupied. It's obviously locked. It's obviously occupied. Move on! Oh, man. I agree with Sean. Well, this guy didn't move on. No, he didn't. Finally, he peeked over the stove. Oh, no, dude! And there was Sean... Nude? Nude. On the toilet. And he looks up at the guy, and Sean goes... Sean puts his hands up, and he goes, Hello? Hello? I did have my shoes on. Oh, my God. That's awesome. I would pay money to see that. How much? Well. Because I have it on a JPEG. You do? Shut your mouth. Oh, creepy. Hey, Mikey, my cousin and I were throwing the medicine ball back in the fort. Oh, no. And I accidentally threw it a little over her head, and she lost her balance as she tried to make the catch.
She stumbled back and landed on the guy behind her that was doing bench presses. Her butt made contact with his face. Most hilarious and embarrassing moment I've ever witnessed. That's P1 Ruby. It was me. I live at the gym. I'm always there. I have a cat there. What can I tell you? I'm ripped. Got myself an eight-pack. This is interesting. Listen to this. This is Carlos Mencia on The Tonight Show, cut 22. They were not going to let me in the country because I was born in Honduras. And they're looking at my paperwork and this guy comes up to me really serious and he goes, were you born in Honduras? And I go, yeah. And he goes, yeah, that is one of the countries where you have to have special visa. We cannot let you in. Wow.
And I was like, really? Honduras? Why? You know, some crazy things happened. Yeah, because everybody's heard of the crazy Honduran terrorists. Are you serious? Like, who's that guy? You know what I mean? I've never heard of that. What did he do, bring bananas into your country? I don't get it. You know what I've never heard of that either. So the guy goes, you think this is funny? I go, yeah. What are you talking about? And then the guy, he looks at me right in the face and he goes, do you realize that right now you are an illegal in our country? And I was like, that wouldn't be the first time I heard that. Now, uh, What do you guys think? You think it's a good idea to point out that he's Honduran because that way it sort of, what's the word? Then it doesn't, when you see something over and over again, you become desensitized to it. It's kind of the same concept in that, you know how Rogan was calling him out and saying, you're not even Mexican and you try to act like you're Mexican. Well, if he addresses it himself, doesn't it take the impact of that away? It's like, hey, I'm not hiding anything.
Saying it myself. Unfortunately, George Lopez told that exact same story three years ago. I YouTubed it. Let's listen to it. Right back to back. Press up against that. And then Joe Rogan's going to call in. Martha Stewart said that she makes yarn out of her dog's fur. Who amongst us doesn't, really? I use mine as a pillow. It's weird. Ashley, do you do that? Sorry, I'm... talking to Seth. Ash, can you hear me? No problem. Let me, get back to me on that one. I understand. Well, whenever, you know, whenever you guys are ready. Yes, I can hear you. Thank you. Sky has new releases there coming out. I've been waiting for this all day. It's my favorite segment. Thanks, Eddie. I'm talking about new movies, new music, new video games even.
Yeah, let's start with some new video games. Yeah, I love that. Okay. What do you got? What's going on? Well, Eddie and I are in an alliance, Sean. I mean, we're really good friends. What's video games? I mean, we're just really good friends right now. Okay, new video games out today. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for Xbox 360 and PS3. Yeah, it looks good. Probably won't get it. Condemned 2 Bloodshot for PS3. Nice. Sega Superstars Tennis for Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, and PS2. Metal Gear Solid, The Essential Collection for PS2. Hot Shots Golf, Out of Bounds, PS3. Samurai Warriors 2, Extreme Legends, PS2. Pro Evolution Soccer, 2008 for the Wii. Worms, A Space Oddity for the Wii. Karaoke Revolution Presents American Idol Encore for the PS3. Let's get that. And then finally, we have Sing Star 90s for the PS2. What is that? Like karaoke as well? Yeah, but it's 90s music. I'd be into that. Yeah, yeah, dude. I'd be into that. All right. I want to sex you. All right, Eddie. I knew it. Sing it. Remember when we used to sing it? How did that sound? What? Mikey.
We used to go on these drives. That's not true, man. Mike would, he's got a good voice, and he would sing this particular song quite a bit, Color Me Bad songs. It's too bad I don't remember. And I would back him up with vocals, backing vocals. Shut up! It was the other one by Color Me Bad that he was really good at. I think it was Mia Moore. I adore Mia Moore. Mike, I'm putting it up there for you. Listen, guys. I'm going to tell you right now. I will not sing it. I will play it. It's not going to happen. But you're so good. You would belt it out. I hadn't gone through puberty yet. No, you had. So young. We were in your white pickup. And we would drive around, and you'd sing this song, and I'd be like, damn, dude. Wow. I've got a voice on you. I'm glad you hear that. Sky, what's coming out today on TV? Just a taste. It's up there. It's in the pens. Come on. It's in the pens, Mike. Remember? Okay, let's listen to it, then. That's right. What's the rest of it is? I really don't remember it.
right there. That was nice. You'll probably remember when you used to sing Mr. Big. Come on, man. It took every last ball I had. What is that? Is that to be with you? Mike, I got that up there if you need it. Mike, it was up there. It's over the other one. Cassie recorded a demo. How'd it go? We went to the San Francisco Pier. Please tell it. Tell it so bad. And they had like this, you know, make your own tape. Singing the hits. Yeah, you need to pay like five bucks. You get your own recording of it. This is on the radio right now. I know, this is a good story. And so Mike said, oh, dude, I'm going to make myself a tape. And I'm all, yeah, dude, make yourself a tape. And this song he chose and sang it. Oh, wow. Yeah, you did. I got memory lane. Then he used to sing. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you.
Thank you very much. And... That was rad. The Great Mustachio. Skye, what do we got coming out on CD? That was awesome. Eddie says, we've got to break. Let's sing more in the break. That's right, that's right. And next, Skye with Jewel. That will be coming out right after this. There, I'm Dr. Henry Jekyll. I'm a research scientist. And I'm Mr. Edward Hyde. KIO! You know what problem we have, Skye? What, Mike? You know how we have a little speaker outside in our patio? Yeah. Birds. Bird. In the speaker? They're making a nest on top of it. That's where you get those little... No, you don't need to kill. You just get those little spiky things. So they can't perch there. Kill or be killed, I think, is the thing. Yeah, baby. Just get the little spikes. You put them up there. I know how it works. Then you're good, Mike. The what? The little spikes. Where do you get those?
I don't know. See? Those things only exist in meth. Rat poison. Stop it, all of you. I think they're a wives' tale. What's the stuff that makes the bird's stomach blow up? Like rice? A shotgun. All of you, not funny. Hey Mike, you have a swooning, lovely singing voice. Told you. So true. That's from P1 Kika. Mikey, that was awesome. Do some more after the break. P1 Lunch Lady. Come on, dude. Don't let the P1s do it. This one's very nice, too. Mikey, my dogs are howling. That's rude. Please stick to your day job. That's P1 Charger Junkie. I love Mikey's show Idol. It's funny when Eddie and Mikey and Sky are all doing their best. That's from P1 Uncle Albert. What do you mean it's funny, Uncle Albert? What do you mean by funny? Yeah, what do you mean funny? We're all trying really hard, Uncle Albert. You got great voices. We're all really trying. What are we, a clown to you? You said it. You're a big boy. What did you mean? Yeah, what do you mean, Henry? Come on. It's Uncle Albert, not Henry. No, he said it. You let him talk. He said it. What did you say? Go ahead. Funny how. Maybe I'm a...
Maybe I'm a little drunk. I didn't hear you right. Funny how. Maybe I'm a little deaf. My hearing ain't so good. What did you say? I can't hear so good. What is this story that he's telling? He's telling a story about getting beat up and waking up in the cops interrogation room. Do you remember? He goes... I'm laying there in the field. They take me back. I wake up in the interrogation room. He says, you going to talk? And I say, no. Ping, pow, boom, ping, pong. I pass out. I wake back up again. He says, yeah, you going to tell us who you know? I say, hey, I thought I told you to go your mother. Right, yeah. Goodfellas. Ladies have no idea what we're talking about. But it's entertaining to watch the movie. Ladies have no idea. I like that. Goodfellas, a great movie.
Skye, what else is coming out today? We didn't finish what the new releases are. Yep, we got new CDs out today. We have the brand new Danity Kane, Welcome to the Dollhouse. Danity Kane? Is that a chick band? Wait a minute, that's the ones they put together for the TV. He did, he put it together for Making the Band, and now there's Making the Band 4 that's on MTV right now. There's a... Wow. I seriously knew that there was not more than one of those. There's a fourth one now? No, it's Making the Band 4. It's a TV show on MTV that P-Daddy has. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that means there's been three other seasons I didn't know about. Well, last season was Making the Band 3, and it was to kind of put together what would be like a 2008 Boyz II Men kind of group. Yeah. So what they ended up doing was doing that with, like, five guys. And then there's this guy, Donnie, who's kind of like a combination of Vanilla Ice and, like, wannabe Justin Timberlake. Yeah. And he is a solo artist. And they've got the Boyz II Men wannabe band. And then Danity Kane. And they're all releasing new albums. And that's making the band four. Do we have any other music? Yeah, it should be up there. The Danity Kane, their new song, It's Really Good Damage. All right, let me hear it. I like this. When it first came out, it was called Pretty Poison. Yes. Called Orchid.
So that right there is a bunch of chicks that P. Diddy found and put them together on a reality show, and then they became a real band. Yeah, and they went platinum on their last album. Nice. So they're a pretty big deal. Been there, done that. Yeah, great. Yeah, real sweet, okay? Yeah, not original. Uh-huh. Okay. Also out today, we have Flo Rida with Mail on Sundays. Yeah! Get it, Eddie. That's a real question for you. Yeah. Now, I need you to tell me the truth. How do you... You gotta... I gotta get... Eddie. Yes. How do you... You're not going to clubs anymore. We're both old men. We both have wives. How do you know this stuff? How do you know the words? You're singing along. It's like my favorite song. Do you hear it on the radio? I do hear it on the radio.
It's my wife. My wife's always singing the song. She likes the song. Okay. And Apple Bottom Jeans is like becoming almost like a pop culture thing now. Oh, that's a very provocative dance that he's doing. Oh, that's one thing. Definitely. Wow. Okay. Wow. There's another one from Flo Rida. Album featuring Timbaland. That Timbaland, man. Everything he touches turns to gold. Yeah? We should ask him to produce our next best of or something, you know? Like, see what kind of, you know, mixes he can throw on that. I think the person you have on that right now is doing... They're a great producer. They're a great producer. Fantastic producer. Really good mix master. I like them. Thank you. What else is coming out? Also out today, we have Sara Bareilles with Little Voices. I like her, yeah. What does she look like? Somebody Google image and send them a link. Sara Bareilles.
If this girl has the right look, then I'm going to about 150% in on her with the right look. Zeth is now... What do we got? I can't see. There's not enough. Oh, wow. She's very... She has a very different look. What do we got? Are we a blonde brunette? First of all, I don't... No. I know Eddie's type and my type, and they're very different. I don't think Eddie will think she's pretty at all. I think you'll think maybe she's unattractive. She's unattractive. I think Eddie will find her to be... Yeah, Eddie's... Yeah, he doesn't... I think... I think she's pretty. Here, did you get the link? Did you get the link? What do you think, Skye? I think she's cute. I think she has, like, the girl next door image. She doesn't have, like, the supermodel image. Okay, wait a second, Eddie. That's not... Let me know. I'm gonna listen and look at her at the same time. I need to see her sing it.
Somebody go on Google, find me the video, send me the link. I need to see her sing it. Yeah. I get what you're saying. When she's singing a bit, she looks really good. Like artistic, Fiona Apple sexy. What does it matter? It's because you have big jugs. Thank you, Eddie. It's about the music, bro. Thank you, bro. Oh, somebody had just sent me an email, said it's all about the look. So I was just going off the email. I was just going off the email. That's not right, man. Is that from May.com? Rob, what do you think of Sara Bareilles' look? Nah. You're out? Yeah. I've seen her sing it, too. She's on some commercial. Yeah. I forget what commercial. Zeth just sent me the YouTube link, and I will now see what she looks like while she's singing the song. I think I'm out. I think I'm out. Zeth, send the ladies the link you sent me. It's not a sexual thing, Skye. I didn't say that, but I just don't. Oh, wait, wait, wait. You know, I go for the heart. Skye, why are you being so sexual? Oh, wow. I don't think so. She's great. I love her regardless. All right. You don't do that, though, with men. You don't do that with male singers. Like, you know, you hear the song and it's okay, but then you see them in a video and you go, you know what? There's something about them that I just really love. Hello, Marion. Hello. What? Sky. Hello, Mario. Cisco. Come on, Sky. Yeah, hello. Any guy black. Tyrese.
Hello, Sky. Blackalicious. Yeah, Sky. Come on, Roman Oban. Wait. That's the chocolate I'm talking about. Okay, well. You know what I'm saying, though. You know, you kind of get where I'm going with that one. George Bush doesn't care about black people, right? Damn. I think, Mike, I think that Sarah Borealis or whatever her name is. It's the Aurora Borealis you're thinking of. It's completely like Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton with the piano and the long dark hair, which is what Rob loves. You're wrong. Listen, I'm just going to be really honest. I know we're on the radio. I'm just going to be really honest. Okay. She has a different look. She has sort of a... It's called ugly. No, Rob. Listen, Vanessa Carlton and Michelle Branch, they have a very Anglo-Saxon look. Mongo-ish. No, hang on. Okay. They all have a very white girl look. Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, very white girl look. Sarah Aurora Borealis has a little bit more, like you can see maybe there's a little Middle Eastern influence, that kind of thing. It just depends on what flavor you think is, you know what I'm saying?
That's all I'm seeing. I just saw her portfolio. Who are you showing me now, Rob? That's Michelle Branch. I'll find a good one to send to Ash. He really loves Michelle Branch. She's awesome. Rad. Does she mean profile? Yeah, she meant profile. All right, go ahead, Sky. Also out today on CD, we have Buzzcuts, which is various artists. We have Everclear, Switchfoot, Our Lady Peace, Crazy Town 311. Wait a second. Hang on. Pause. I don't want anybody to think that I was out on her because she had a Middle Eastern flavor because I like the Middle Eastern flavor. That's good. I don't want anyone to think that. No wonder they're flying planes into our building. They showed her from far away. When they did a close-up, I said...
I like, now I'm in. I like her. What is she on a magic carpet ride, Mike? No, she wasn't. I'm not trying to say that. I couldn't tell. Then I saw it and I said, she's really, really pretty. And a big nose is a big nose. I was not referring to anything more than that. You were saying that. I didn't say that. I didn't say that she had that. No, I know you did not. You said it. And I do not. No, you did. You said spider. Ashley at spider.com. Wow. I'm shocked. Are we all done? Is there any movies that are coming out? There was Fuzz Cuts, the alternative. Oh yeah, what is that? Just a bunch of different alternative artists. Papa Roach, Blink-182, Hoobastang. Hoobastang. Hoobastang. Switchfoot's on there. Here's one from Blink-182. First to do this. That trips me out. They were the first band ever to sound that way. And now there's 500 bands that sound that way. One billion. One billion. Here, listen. Tell me if this band didn't steal from them just a little bit. I wonder if they have to send them checks every four weeks. They should. What else? And then finally on CD, we have Body of War, songs that inspired an Iraq war veteran. It's a soundtrack from a movie. It has songs from Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy, Bad Religion, System of a Down, Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Ben Harper. So lots of stuff on that. Okay, new movies out today.
Talk about it. Talk about it. A little something called I Am Legend. Yeah. Okay. Cut 48. Access it. I'm out here. No, you're not. Hello? Ask if he has bacon. No, please don't hang up. I can hear you. I can hear you. I'm not alone. Crazy. Sounds good to me. I feel so well. Excited for that. What else is out? Also today, we have Enchanted on DVD. Oh. Come on, Sean. Where's your spirit? Cut 47. Oh, dude. Come on. I don't know what your deal is. If you're waiting for Prince Charming or you're just... Prince Edward. Whatever. I'll get you to a bus, a train, a plane, wherever, and then that's it. I can't get involved after that. Where did you get that? I made it. Do you like it? You're unhappy. You made a dress out of my curtains? Oh, you are unhappy. It sounds very cute, right? Come on. Very cute.
Oh, that's right. When we were in New York City for the NFL draft last year, they were filming that. And we saw them, you know, they had the street blocked off there in Times Square and there was this dude in a funny costume jumping out of a manhole in the middle of Times Square and the guy was yelling, cut. And then they asked me because of my experience on Renegade. That is not a true story. No one said that. What are you talking about? Oh, wow. Well, it went down. I didn't know that. Okay. Also out today, we have Atonement. Oh, that looks really boring. That looks so good. I need to see that, too. Cut 46. Can I look? I'd rather you didn't. It's private. Yes, please. Does anyone read it? It's not ready yet. It's unfinished. What's it about? It's about. A young girl. About two hours. A young girl who sees something from her bedroom window which she doesn't understand. Certainly if someone speaks in an English accent, it'll bring about Oscars. Yeah. You might have to finish it. Oh, and I'd like to thank the Academy. Oh, beautiful. Also out today, Love in the Time of Cholera. Anybody? Oh, yes. Love in the Time of Cholera. I have a track here from the soundtrack, so here it is. Oh, that's where it's from. Sounds great. You got the...
This is from the original motion picture soundtrack of Welcome to the House, Cholera. Picture a lot. Do you think the bass is taken away from the vocal? Duh. Fix it, Nick. Listen to it. Fix it. And finally, TV shows to DVD. We have Battlestar Galactica, season three. Yeah. Married with Children, the complete eighth season. Greek, chapter one. And then that very successful TV show, Bionic Woman. All two episodes. It should be really good. Sean will get it. Sean, have you seen the teaser for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek? Yes. Have you seen it, Eddie? Yeah. Are they showing that everywhere? I don't know. I saw it on YouTube. It sure looks different. It sure looks different from what I'm used to seeing about Star Trek. Well, it's a lot cooler. Yeah, I mean, it looks real.
It looks good. Wait. Uh-oh. What is that? Uh-oh. I don't know. We'll see. You don't... Wait a minute. What the... I mean, Sean, it looks very realistic. I mean, I don't... No, it looks fine. It looks fine. You don't want that. Would you prefer that they kind of go back to the old style of making these films? The green women. Yeah. I'm not saying that. You know, I haven't seen enough of it yet. Let's say that. Interesting. Disappointing. Wow. Uh, Let's see. The 49ers signed Bryant Johnson. Now, that was their third wide receiver, but he was still pretty good for the Cardinals. He was a good wide receiver. Not bad. And the 49ers signed him. They released Daryl Jackson. That was a good move. Yeah, that experiment didn't work out. Not at all. And they needed an upgrade for sure at wide receiver. And so we'll see if he's the guy. The Yankees are playing Virginia Tech today in an exhibition.
I think that's pretty cool with all the stuff that happened with Virginia Tech. They're doing, like, a special thing just for the, you know, the students. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, I think it's pretty cool. Where are we, Sky, in the polls between, like, Obama, Clinton, McCain? Like, where are the polls in? Well, it's very interesting, actually. A new poll just came out showing that, basically, the candidates are in, like, a dead heat. Obama were to go up against McCain, according to this new poll, Obama would get 47% of the vote and McCain would get 46% of the vote. If McCain were to go up against Hillary, Hillary would get 49% of the vote and McCain would get 47% of the vote. But there's a three-point margin of error either way in the study, so basically everyone is tied. So the country is very, very split. And also, according to the poll, they say about one out of every five voters says that our health care system is their top concern right now, which is pretty surprising with the war and the environment. One out of every five says that the top thing. One in five voters, yeah. Their top concern is our health care system, right? As a conservative, you know, I kind of go Libby on that one, on the whole health care thing. You're not concerned?
No, I am. That's what I'm saying. I'm a little liberal. Oh, you lean a little left in your views. I lean a little left in my views when it comes to health care. I feel like we should take care of everybody. Although, I think we've got to figure out where to pay for it. But I definitely think we should take care of everybody. Because it's messed up the way it is right now. It's fertile. It really is. It's jacked up. Motley Crue says they have big plans that they're going to announce next month. So one of them is going to... in the assisted living or what do they call it? Turns out Mick Mars is alive. Yeah. They didn't know that. They're going to make the announcement. Mick's still alive. Who knew? The last time I saw him. In their press release, they're referring to it as a colossal announcement that by far will be one of the biggest music announcements of this year. Yeah, dude. They're touring with little feet. It's going to be great. Get a box. Yeah, dude. Let's get a box. A little clown royal. Yeah, dude.
Go see Motley Crue and Little Feet. The crew, dude. Be great. Yeah. A little clown with the rest of the band. Dude, go over to whatchamacallit. Yeah, let's go over to Baja, California. Big Fat Paul. Yeah, Big Fat Paul. Be great, dude. You got a cigarette? Dude, get your own cigarette. Hey, dude. Hey, do me a favor, man. I'm going to throw this cigarette off your balcony. Yeah, and hit a cop. Nuh-uh. Yeah, Eddie tells Woods. Nuh-uh. Eddie tells Woods, don't throw cigarettes off my balcony. Don't throw your butts off my balcony. Yeah. I'll put an ashtray out there. Yeah, no problem, dude. It was like, just like reflex. Like when a hammer hits your knee. He would finish smoking, he'd go. He'd throw it off the balcony. He throws off the balcony, it hits a cop. And we're having a party, so the cop immediately marches up to the party. That's bad. Sorry, dude. Way to go, Wood. My bad. Sorry, man. I hit a cop. Yeah, didn't know he was there. Didn't smell bacon. Oh, gosh. That's what he said. True story. Sorry, dude. Sorry, dude. I didn't smell the bacon. Oh, my gosh. Who says that? My bad. Yeah.
Steve Woods. What do you want me to do? Crazy. My bad. I love that. I've never seen the movie The Punisher, but apparently there's a guy in the movie named Thomas Jane. Yeah. He's the Punisher. He's the Punisher. Oh, hot. He just got arrested for DUI. Oh, no. Yeah, it was yesterday morning. He's actually married to Patricia Arquette. And he was driving really, really fast. So the cops decided to pull him over. And he failed several field sobriety tests. And I guess was also driving on a suspended license. So he's in some trouble. So the new governor of New York, because of what happened to Elliot Spitzer, is somebody playing the drums? What is that? That sounds like. I bet somebody's got their speaker turned up real loud in one of the studios next to it. Dude! I know, it's like your kid's bedroom. Right. Mom! It's all right, Rupert. Just turn it down. What were we talking about? The new governor of New York. Yeah, new governor of New York. So the old guy had to retire because he was, you know, with a prostitute. So he had to resign. So he resigns. They swear in a new governor. First black governor ever. He's also blind. Legally blind. So he gets sworn in. He's in there a couple hours. He goes, hey, I just want to let everybody know I had an affair a couple years ago.
Oh, jeez. So anyway, what's the first order of business around here? Well, FYI. Wow. Why do you think he did that? Just because he knew? Well, I guess there were rumors circulating and, you know, the local newspapers in New York were buzzing about it. And so I guess he figured, oh, this is going to come out. And, you know, better, you know, he just learned from the other guy that it's better just to be honest about it. So I guess he says it was a few years ago, both him and his wife strayed from the marriage and have since been to counseling and have repaired their relationship. That is quite loud. I bet they're doing it because they think that all the morning shows are done. Morning shows are not done. Well, we're done now, actually. We've pretty much got to everything, so we've got to go. But crank it, Mike. Yeah. 570-1053. That's our number. Call us at the beginning and end of every show. Open phone segment is what we call it. So call in about anything you'd like. We'd love to hear from you. What can I tell you? On Friday, we're going to be doing a P1 party. We want to meet everybody. Let me tell you, if this last Friday was any indication on how successful these things are, get there early. Because there were so many P1s at this last one, they had to wait for people to leave Joe's Crab Shack before they could let people into Joe's Crab Shack, and that has to do with fire marshal rules.
Because they get too many people in a place, legally, they can't have too many. So if you want to come and hang with us, come on out, but get there early. We're going to be there 5 to 7 in Carlsbad at a place called K1 Speed. It's 6212 Corte del Abelto. Abelto. And again, that's Friday. Mikey Show, hello. Yeah, this is a P1 Dendy. Hey, what's up? How much? Just had a question. The blind new governor in New York had an affair? Yes, sir. If you're blind, wouldn't you just, like, think about somebody else as opposed to actually going with somebody else? How is that different for me if you see, though? I don't know. I'm just saying I would think, you know, I'm not blind, so I don't know. That would just be my curious. Feels different, dude. A little different. And I'm sure companionship has something to do with it. No? Eddie's saying no. Okay. Eddie says no. My bad. Mikey Show, hello? Hey, Mikey, this is P1 Matt. Hey, listen, I'm having a furry party. I just want to throw the invite out to Sean. Yeah. Listen, Sean is always up for furry parties. That's nice of you. Send him an invite. Thanks, bro. All right, man. You guys going to have lots of techno? Mikey Show. Hey, bro, I wanted to talk to Mikey about his appearance at the Rock Church coming up. You're on the radio, bro. Oh, Mikey, what's up, man? What's up, dude?
Hey, P1 tile guy. Hey, bro, I saw you're going to be at the Rock Church making an appearance on what, Sunday? On Sunday. What are you going to be speaking about, bro? I don't know. What's that about? I don't know. I am going to, I think, introduce the evening, and then I think that Miles is going to interview me about my testimony. This is the same thing that... LaDainian Tomlinson that LT did last year for The Rock when they were at Cox Arena. But they're not at Cox Arena this year because they had their own place built. They got a real big place now that you could practically have concerts in. Yeah, I know. It's a beautiful church. We go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yeah, people have been, I feel so embarrassed because people have asked me, hey, what are you doing at The Rock Church? And I genuinely have to say, I'm not sure. I know I will be there at the 5 o'clock service and the 7 o'clock service. As far as I know, I'll be introducing the night and saying hello and welcome. And then I'll be interviewed by Miles, giving my testimony. And it'd be really cool if people went. I think my brother's going to come here and go. That's cool. Yeah, we actually, my boss brought me to the Rock Church back in October. We've been going ever since. That's cool.
My kid loves the church, and he's actually looking really forward to seeing you there. That's awesome, dude. That's really cool. Well, thank you. I appreciate it. Right on. Have a good one. All right, brother. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Hey, I was curious. Can I get some tickets for that Unleashed fight? I heard someone on the radio on your guys' show, I believe. I don't know if we have any more. Do we have more, Eddie, or are we all out? What? The Unleashed. Do we have a, what is it, a pay-per-view? No, it's a showdown in Cali at the convention center. Two of my good buddies are actually fighting. They're on the fight card. I want to go watch them. Yep. We'll give you tickets. Hang on a second, okay? Yeah. Hang on. Well, if they're his good buddies, why aren't they giving him tickets? I was thinking that too. Hey, listen. Maybe they're not that close anymore. Well, we'll help you out then. Have an exceptional day. Coming up next, the lovely and talented Missy will have the Nooner. And today on the Nooner, she will have the All Request Lunch. Happens at noon. And you call in, you tell her what you want to hear, and she will do her best to get it on for you. And I urge you to listen. We'll see you back here tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show is out.
