The president is scheduled to give a speech at 7 this morning, marking the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. The Rockets finally lost. Their 22-game win streak is over. It was the Boston Celtics that ended it. Of course, that's why Rob is talking. The Rockets' win streak was the second longest in NBA history. Oh, you don't say. Is that also why Boston Rob has that gigantic grin, that ridiculous grin on his face? Really? Who cares? I do. A little bit. It's a Mikey show, and our phone lines are open for you. 570-1053 is the number, and call about anything you want. This guy liked the track. Is it a track thing? What do they call it? Yeah, track suit. I love it. Thank you. It's comfy. I love it, too. She's a rap star. That's right. I'm not a rap star. I am a lazy girl who likes to be comfy. If you're not a rap star, why do you have that big gold clock around?
your neck right now. And your grill. I don't. Yeah, why do you have gold in your teeth? Yeah, explain that. Looks like braces, but it's all gold. No, it's, okay. Welcome to the program. Let's go around the room, introduce each other. My name is Mikey. Why don't we introduce each other? That's a great idea. We don't ever do that. Yeah, I'll introduce Eddie, and then Eddie will introduce the next person. Oh, that's fun. And so on. Oh my gosh, I love it. We've never done that. Yay. So Eddie is my best friend at 20 years. I've known him forever. We met when Eddie was 12 and I was 15. I was friends with his sister, and he didn't care for his sister or people involved with his sister. And then Eddie and I got to be friends, and I've never spoken to his sister since. Smart. Yes. Oh, did I introduce myself? I'm Mike. You've got to introduce yourself. Yeah. Or you could have Zeth. Yeah, Zeth will introduce me. He'll tell you a little something about me. So, yeah, and Eddie is 34, and he's been married almost a year. And you get to introduce Skye. Oh, well, I would like you all to meet my friend Skye. Hi. She's a 30-year-old lady. Yep. And sometimes she acts like she's 60. That is true. Even though she's only 30. And she's an engaging lady.
Thank you. That's right. She makes people get engaged. Yeah. It's true. Although, as bold as she is on the radio, is as shy as she is off the air around people she doesn't know. Thank you. That's correct. And is obsessed with landscaping. Thank you. I love it. Yeah. And she does the news. Oh. Sky. I would like to introduce you all to my friend, Shawnee O'Big. That's right. He's a sound effects guy and a writer here for the Mikey Show. He is having a birthday coming up very, very soon. Very soon. Very soon. Let's see. Let's check the calendar here. Let's not. Let's not. What do we got? Let's not. Oh, less than. Well, yesterday. Let's not. It would have been exactly two weeks from yesterday. Less than two weeks. Less than two weeks. Sean and I have been friends for, gosh, I don't know, maybe about six, seven years now. And when we worked together up in the Bay Area, Sean would make me laugh on a daily basis when he would pretend things were bongs. He would always pick up something, whether it be a paper towel roll, a pen.
a newspaper, whatever. He'd pretend it was a bong and it would make me laugh. Really? Yes. Every day. I would pretend to light it up. Very inanimate objects. Yes. What's the biggest object you ever saw him try to light up? Well, he had this because he's like the web guy, you know, for the cluster in the Bay Area. So he had this like Mongo printer in his office. I don't remember that thing. I don't know. It was like a scanner, banner maker thing. It was like a tanning bed. It's so big. Yeah, it was like the size of a tanning bed. Still have it. And one day he took the roll for the paper that went into that monstrosity, which was probably like a seven-foot-long roll, and then pretended like he was trying to stretch his arms to reach to light the... Oh, that is funny. Tell you what, Mike, that thing got me so hot. Okay. All right. That is Shawnee, oh boy. All right, Shawnee? Ashley's next, right? Mm-hmm.
Okay, I'd like to introduce to you Ashley. She's also on the show. She has a boyfriend now, and they're going to be married next year. Wow. That is true. They're planning to get married next year, so congratulations. Congratulations to them. She's 24 years old. She's also pregnant, by the way. There you go. Make the announcement. But okay. Ash. Boss and Rob. is the phone screener of our show um he's a year older than me and uh shorter than me and almost as funny as me and he most people might not know but he's in his own little booth um here in the studio and so i look at him through glass he's like directly to my left and so like when we're fighting and stuff like you know we're staring at each other through glass Yelling. Thank God. And he's been on the show as long as I have. We started on the same day. And that's for almost three and a half years. And he's my best friend in the whole world. And something I'll never forget about that day that we started. Yeah. We didn't know like where I was going to sit and all that. And I remember it was very confusing. And you know how she has that? She has like a separate mic stand back there. Yeah. There's like no mic really hooked up.
I came in. She was like, here, you're going to sit behind me and you're going to use this mic. You just stay behind me. And I was like, all right, this is kind of weird. What? Yeah. I don't remember that. I'll never forget that because I was like, I can't see no one. And I'm like kind of back in the corner. I was like, are we sure? Maybe they were thinking a different Rob was supposed to show up. Oh, that's great. That is so funny. Ash is in a different room too. Boston Rob and Ashley are in completely different rooms. Contained animals. I love that Ashley's giving orders on her first day. First day. How great is that? No clue what's going on. You know what's so funny about that? is that honestly, and maybe I'm wrong in this, but couldn't Rob have taken the initiative if he chose to and been the aggressor and been like, I'm in charge? If that was his personality, yeah, for sure. And then today, it would be different. He'd be the one being like, hey, what did I tell you? Imagine. But it's not. No way. Oh no, it's too late now. You blew it, Rob. I know. Well, we used to have a guy on the show named Boy Blunder.
Ah, fish. Love him. And so when he moved on, we replaced him with two people, Rob and Ashley. Oh, that's by weight. Yeah, so we had to go by weight. That's why we added Zeth. All right, Rob. Ah, Zeth. Where do I begin? Well, he sits at a little school child's desk. That is true. He's lethargic. My design. He's lethargic and sleepy, but with saying that, one of the hardest lethargic and sleepy guys I know, hardest working. Yeah. So he does internet stuff. Yes. And I've noticed that he likes man hugs, but gets denied a lot. Okay. And he's 23, just had a birthday, so happy birthday, bud. That's right, he's 23. All right, Seth, introduce me. Okay. I'd like to introduce you to Mikey. He is the host of the show. He goes by Mike in his real life. I don't think he really likes Mikey very much, but somebody gave him that name years ago on radio, and he sticks to it. He has a shaved head. He's wearing a blue shirt. He's very Hispanic.
And Jesus is his homeboy. Thank you. That is a very good description. I appreciate it. Very well done. Let's take your phone calls at 570-1053. P1 Chris. Chris, are you with us? I'll tell you the truth. I think Chris chickened out. Yeah. Why? That's what I'm betting on. Well. And he was so tough on the phone. I know it. What happened? He's such a tough guy. No, Rob. No, no, no. It has nothing to do with me. Yeah, we can say it. He thinks Ashley's real cute, and he wanted to put it out there. Oh, really? Yeah, but he had that macho man attitude. Hey, ask Ashley if she remembers Chris from K1 Speed. I'll take her out on a date. Sounds like her relationship's not going too well, yada, yada, yada. I was like, all right, hold on the line there, pal. I'll put you right through. I'll hold for about 30 seconds until I get scared. I might have to hang up. Aww.
P1 Alex. Show, I've been listening for a while. I just got done pulling a 24-hour shift. Where at? I'm doing a remodeling job with my dad in Rancho Penasquitas. Oh, man, you guys worked for 24 straight? Yeah, well, we had to pick up supplies for the beginning part, but we worked pretty much all night. Yeah, we just had to repile the place. But, yeah, I love the show, and I can't wait till Friday. Awesome, man. Are you going to come out and meet us at K1 Speed? Yeah. Awesome. Very cool, man. Very cool. Get some sleep, bro. Yeah, definitely. Yeah, get some sleep. All right. Hey, thanks for the call, Alex. Yeah, thank you guys. That's a dude working hard right there, man. Yeah, we're going to be out at K1 Speed having a P1 party on Friday, 5 to 7. Should be fun.
And Park Place Liquor and Deli is going to be out there selling sandwiches. They were the place. They came in. They competed with about five other different places. And they won the best sandwich in San Diego for the Mikey Show. Octavio. Yeah, that's right, dude. Give me up some of that. El Cotija. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, El Cortina. And they're also, while we're out there at K1 Speed, they're going to help you out. They're going to say, you know what, guys? $15. First special, 12 laps. Nice. Only 15 bucks. Love it. While we're out there. So come and say hi. Awesome. P1 Eric is hanging on and wants to talk to us about his wife's birthday. Eric, are you there? Not too much, dude. Yeah, so tonight is my wife's birthday. Love your show, by the way. Thank you. And I just wanted to know, I know you guys are big on food and like you're connoisseurs. I just wanted to know, where's the good...
place i could take her and maybe like eight to ten people it depends on what kind of money we're talking here i'd have to say not uh i wouldn't say like a donovan's kind of budget but i wouldn't say you know happy but doesn't drain my bank account where do you live i live in santee well my suggestion would be a place like bucca because you can feed a ton of people at bucca de beppo uh on a pretty reasonable at a pretty reasonable price and you know and they serve family style, so it's gigantoid portions. No kidding. It's good food. What about that place that you guys talk about that they cut your tie off or something? Oh, yeah, dude. Go to Pinnacle Peak. Isn't that out there? Yeah, yeah. I take back Bucca de Beppo. You're in Santee, bro. Have you been to Pinnacle Peak? You know, I probably should be ashamed of myself. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you should be. I grew up in Santee, so she's been there before. Dude.
That place is the bomb, man. The peak is awesome. That place is the bomb. And it's good food, dude. It's really good food. In fact, you're making me want to go out there. I haven't been there for probably a year, more, even. Well, join the birthday party. Yeah, dude. What time you guys meet? Come down. Let her make her knife. There you go, man. If it goes good, this will be the third year in a row that I have nailed her on a surprise party. And I'm telling you. She's not seeing it coming again this year because I've totally been like, babe, let's just do me and you this year, you know. Well, let's just keep it between you and I then, all right? Let's not let anybody know. That's awesome, dude. Her radio's broken, so she's definitely not listening to the radio. There you go. Awesome. Yeah, dude, get the ribeye steak. They cook it over this. It's a cowboy place, this Pinnacle Peak, and it's a one-of-a-kind. It's not a chain. They've only got one other one in Tucson, Arizona. And, or no, actually, I take that back. I think they opened one in the same place that that Raging Waters is at. There's two Raging Waters in the country. I see. And it's, anyway, doesn't matter. This place, Pinnacle Peak, it's cowboy style food. So they serve you steaks that are cooked over wood. Yeah. And beans and bread and, oh, dude, you'll be farting and laughing. Yeah.
Yeah, you get sliced bread. It's delicious. White bread. It's like white bread. Oh, it's great, man. Now, what's the deal with them cutting your tie off? They say that they want you to be casual. Yeah, you wear a tie in there and people do it for fun. Oh, okay. They'll cut it off and put it on the wall. Yeah, they're like, hey, you city partner. Slicker. Slicker. You can't be coming around here all highfalutin'. That's right. These parts all highfalutin'. We're going to cut off your... Your arms and legs. Wait, I don't think they say that. On the horse. That's right. Then we're going to string you up. Okay. So, yeah, dude, check it out. Thank you. Uncle Fester's on the line, guys. It is P1 Uncle Fester. Hello, how's it going? What's going on, dude? I'm just calling to let you guys know I'm off to Maui for a month, and I'm going to miss your show. Oh, take us with you. In the suitcase that I fit in. Oh, please. Do you have a trunk? I want to go, Fester. Can I go? Yeah, you can go. Okay, thank you. Thank you so much. Wow. Yeah, I'm pretty bummed my work is sending me out there. Oh, dude. Shut your dirty mouth. Yeah, you shut that filthy gutter mouth. Please. Oh, you are such a lucky person. It's your favorite, right, Mikey? You ever been there?
No, never. Oh, my God. Oh, my goodness. You slapper of gutters. Yeah, there's very few places that are, like, as beautiful or more beautiful than San Diego. And Maui, put it on the board. Yeah, put it up there. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. It's the only place I go that I don't want to come home. It's the only place I go. Every other place I'm ready to go home. Maui, Maui, I could stay there. In fact, that's where my, when we were deciding in our wills, You know, where do you want to have your ashes spread or whatever? I said Maui, man. That's where I want to take, you know, besides heaven, that's where I want to take my permanent residence. That place is nice, bro. Where do I have to go while I'm out there? You have to go. You cannot not go to Mama's Fish House. You got to go there. Even Sky liked it, man. And Sky's not big on fish. Yep, but save your ducats, dude. Yeah, save your ducats. Go for lunch. Yeah, it's not the cheapest thing in the world. But, dude, that menu. Oh, it's worth it. The fish you eat, they tell you what Captain caught it that day because they catch it that day. You eat the fish that day. Wow. It's so good, man. Oh, my gosh. Oh, take me with you. All right, brother. Thank you for the call. All right. P1 Tango Sparky's on the line. What's up, Tango Sparky?
Hey, how's it going, man? Good. I was just calling in really quick to see if you guys were aware of how many military service members were being basically taken advantage of by the companies out there loaning out the money. Oh, yeah, yeah. You know what? I actually recently found out about this. Sky, you've probably heard about this. About the check cashing services? Is that what you're talking about, the check cashing services? No, actual home loans. Oh. Lenders. I hadn't read about that. No, but it makes sense. I could see that they take advantage of anybody, right? Yeah, anyone they can. Yeah, apparently it's been so rampant for military alone that there's over 70,000 people in California, active duty, who have been taken advantage of and lost their home within a year's span. Well, I know this. It probably won't take too long because I know that the government was going to pass laws that would make it so that those check cashing places had to be a certain amount of miles away from military places, you know, because they were really taking advantage of the military people and they're young and they're impressionable. And in some cases, they're too dumb to know any better. And so they shouldn't be doing it, but they do.
They get taken advantage of. So the government's going to step in and say, can't do that anymore to these guys. You got to be within 10 miles of the government installations. So this may happen. My point is it may happen for the mortgages, too, where they say, you can't do this to military guys. We'll kick you right in your butt. Yeah, they came out with one that was passed in January this year, that when a military service member loses their first house, If it's shown for reasons that basically the service member was more like me, I was too dumb to not read over every single fine print. Basically got taken advantage of. They came out with a law to protect us for that, where the company, if we try to do a foreclosure sale, the company has to cover all the loans. Good, man. Good, good. But they found a loophole to take advantage of that, and I'm currently going through that whole process. All right. Well, I mean, I obviously... I can't do, you know, 20 minutes on it, but I'm behind you, and I hope that it all works out, and I think it's terrible that they took advantage. Yeah, I just wanted to get the word out there. Thank you, bro. Thank you. I appreciate it. Can't, you know, obviously, can't do too much on it, but that's very nice. I think it's terrible that they're doing that to those poor dudes. What happened last night on television? What were you guys watching? American Idol. American Idol. American Idol. American Idol.
How about that gal from here in San Diego? Was it Amanda Overmeyer? No. Why? Why? How dare you? She's the Dracula. Carly Smithson. Carly Smithson. She do good? Yeah, she did do good, although Simon didn't like it, but the other two did, and I think most people did. Got a girl from San Diego. Well, I mean, originally from Ireland. Right. But she's living in San Diego. She works at the field. Yeah. Irish restaurant downtown. What were they singing? Beatles stuff? Yeah, another week of Beatles. When you heard that, were you irritated? Yeah, I kind of was. And even the judges were starting to say, yeah, maybe this was a mistake. Because everybody that sang kind of was there was only really one standout performance last night. Who was it?
The Kid Made a Comeback, David Archuleta. Oh, really? Yeah, he's back in the lead. David Archuleta sang The Long and Winding Road. That's a good song. I'll listen to a couple of seconds of him singing that. Cut five. Like this guy? Nice voice, though. Yeah. Nice voice, but yeah, maybe a little... The tempo. It's a little sleepy time to you, isn't it? Yeah, a little bit. Well, anyway, that was the guy that they think is going to probably do the best American Idol last night. Some other big news that's out there is this is a little bit crazy, but Heather Mills, who on Monday made public all of the different things that happened in her divorce with Paul McCartney because the judge decided on it on Monday. She decided to come out and immediately give a press conference. What we didn't know and is just coming out right now is that apparently while she was in the court proceeding, she took a jug of water.
And she poured it over Paul McCartney's attorney's head. Come on. What? Yeah. And it was weird because I read about that yesterday. But we're kind of like Mikey talked about a while ago. We're doing this new thing where we're trying to only report facts, not on gossip. And immediately I read that. And I'm like, that is so asinine. Like these British tabloids to make up something so crazy. Well, then late yesterday, all these photos were coming out of Paul McCartney's attorney. Going into the courthouse in the beginning of the day with her hair all done. She kind of has one of those like old lady. Yeah, she has like one of those old lady do's. So it's like she went to the hair salon, got her hair all done. Like Aunt Bea from Mayberry or whatever. And then they show her coming out of the courthouse after the court proceedings looking like a wet cat. Like her hair is like slicked back because it's like so wet. Yeah. How did she not get thrown in jail for that? Like contempt of court or? I think it was like after the ruling was sent down. That's crazy. You know? Well, what's even crazier is that, you know, we've heard the clips of her giving it. Like she walks out of that incident. Yeah. And then comes out and, you know. Well, I'd like to talk about poll and the decision that was reached today. Holy cow. Yeah, dude. She was real upset. Crazy.
What is she so mad about? Did she get enough money? Yeah. Oh, my God. She wanted more. She was originally asking for $200 million and then... You don't deserve it, jerk. Maybe I do, though. Oh, wow. Maybe you don't. Perhaps without me, Sean, Sir Paul would not have been capable of putting together some of the deals that he did. He did it all before you were around. I understand that he recorded the music. That much I can't take credit for. But what I can take credit for is the business dealings that went down with that very publishing music after we were married. No. No. I was supportive, I was. I gave up me time. No. Ever. Me blood, me sweat. All right, here's 10 bucks. I gave up my leg. You lost your leg before, Paul. You're pathetic. You know what? Take that leg and cram it sideways. So anyway, that was a big deal. Wow. That's nuts. President Bush is talking this morning, 7 o'clock. It's the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. I remember the day it started.
I think we may have been together the day it started in San Francisco. We were like at Pier 39 and it was up on the TV. Bombs were falling in Baghdad. That's news to me. Maybe we were doing a P1 party up at Pier 39 or something like that. Yeah, we were. Yeah. Do you remember, Sky? I remember this. Sky may have been under the influence of some marijuana smoke that night. No. I believe. We've never been to Pier 39. What are you talking about? Were we in the aquarium? What were we doing? Wow. What were we doing there? Yes. Sky may not remember. May not remember. You don't know. I think you're making that up, Mike. Perhaps. In just a little bit, we're going to do something called Lyrical Gangster. Oh, yeah. Come on, man. You got to play. If you know lyrics to songs, it's perfect. You're going to love it. Dan, we got some good stuff on the show today. We're going to, first of all, be doing something called Secret Crush. We got an email about somebody in the office that's got a case of the bad breath. Oh, no. And
I don't know if they were okay with us reading it, but we're going to read it. Oh, what? On the radio. You're fired. That's coming up. And then this is kind of a trippy story. There's a bench warrant out right now for Shia LaBeouf. Yeah, yeah. I'll tell you why. It's a true story. Guy from Transformers. He's going to be in the new Indiana Jones movie. Shia LaBeouf. I'll tell you what the warrant's about when we come back. You'll be a loneliness. My favorite comedian, Nick DiPaolo, in the stand-up spotlight. Guys, you want vacation to get peace of mind, don't you? That's where I go. Does it ever work out that way? I'm trying to take a nap at the pool, and the Creighton family shows up with 14 kids, ages 2 to 3. For the next 6 hours, I have to listen to Marco Polo, Marco Polo, Marco Polo, Marco Polo, Marco Polo. I jump in the pool, can you teach me to play? Drown three of the little kids, you know. Two minutes later here, Marco.
Hey, where's Billy? He's in the deep end taking a nap. Leave him alone. Like I'm trying to. I met some girls from Europe at the pool. I could tell they're from Europe because they didn't shave their bikini line. That's not a pretty sight on a woman, is it? This one lady looked like she had buckwheat and a scissors lock. Somebody lost a toupee. It's in her shorts. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey, this is Tom. What's up, Tom? Hey, I want to let you know I just bought a new truck through a local dealership and I had never had insurance before. And if I would have went with the insurance that they offered, I would have been paying $1,500 a year. So I figured I'd check out AIS. I got the same coverage through AIS for like $400 and some change. Are you serious? That's for the whole year. I couldn't believe it. Oh, dude. I love hearing it. I can't thank you enough, man. Now I can actually make my payments. 1-800-777-4AIS. It's 1-800-777-4247. That is so great, dude. I'm really happy for you.
For people that are listening right now that have heard me talk about AIS and have not called yet because they're like, ah, it must just be those people or whatever. What would you say to people that have not called about AIS yet? I would say it's for real. Check it out. Yep. It worked for you, right? It worked for me. Thanks a lot, man. It worked for Tom. It can work for you. I appreciate you calling in, Tom. 1-800-777-4247. It's AIS. Tell them that I told you to call. I guarantee you, you're going to be so happy. Overall, getting by with a fairly easy ride so far here this morning. Starting to see some reduced speeds out of the South Bay, both 5.05 northbound, just a little bit tight up through National City. The 8.05 punching up slightly through North Park. Westbound 94 looking good into the city. The westbound 8, you're good to go all the way into Mission Valley. West 52, though, a little bit slow now coming out of Santee as you head up the hill here to the top of the summit. South 15 is getting a little bit tougher out of Escondido off the 78 down towards around Felicita. I've got to tell you guys, the Hard Rock in downtown San Diego is going on. It is the hottest place in town right now. And you can be part of it. And you say, well, how am I going to be part of it, Eddie? What are you talking about? Well, what you can do is be part owner.
of a hard rock suite you can you can actually be an owner of a hard rock suite own it yourself you can enjoy it for yourself and or rent it out you know san diego is the like one of the hottest spots in the united states for tourists i think we all know that living here and people want cool places to stay well if there was a hard rock in town i think most people would want to stay there so that thing is going to make you cash money and how awesome because you know somebody like me who lives in north county it would be so awesome to have a really cool hip room downtown so if you're going to a ball game or going out for the night you crash there and then when you're not crashing there you rent it out and make a little skrill that's exactly the deal sky it is a no-brainer to me plus All the perks that come with being rock royalty, that's what they call you when you're a part owner, you're rock royalty, because you get treated like a celebrity. Front of the line stuff, you get automatic VIP status, anything you possibly could imagine you can get, and it is just the way to go. It is the kind of lifestyle you can only possibly dream of, and plus you're making dough on top of it. It is the way to go, I'm telling you. Look into it. It is the hard rock downtown San Diego.
Back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I try not to do dangerous things. Eddie. You guys know me. I'm the most practical person. Sky. Well, I enjoy spicy food. Sean. I'm always one who tries to save. I always want to save. Boston Rob. I thought I was being as gay as I could get. Okay, get a little gayer. And Ashley. That's me. Don't take the retarded Juliette Lewis. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. It is 641. Yesterday, 37 citations were issued during a sting targeting unlicensed drivers at the Chula Vista Courthouse. Mount St. Mary's wins the opening round game to get into the NCAA tournament over Coppin State. They're a roar, they're a prize. They get to play number one seed, North Carolina, in the first round. We would love to read your texts. Send them to us at 35253. If you're not a member of the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, get in it.
Just text the word Mikey to 35253. A little bit later on, we're going to have this email about bad breath in the office. We got an email from a P1. Not our office. It's an email from a P1. Rob. Hey, me. We'll talk about it. Eddie, did you get a haircut? I did get a haircut. I'm noticing that somebody looks a little shorn today. You know, I cannot... get a normal haircut like i am not not my haircut haircut my experience getting the haircut is never normal really well last time you guys remember the guy fell asleep in the chair when i was there it was just bizarre well this time i so i'm not going back to that place like it is just wait wait now that was just that time the time before that didn't a lady babysit or something her her child or grandchild or something and the kid was wailing away in there, and she was cutting her hair. Didn't you go to a place where it was Vietnamese, and that was happening in there? Probably. I don't even remember that. But this time, same kind of situation. I go to a place, because I can't find one place that I like. So I go to this other place, and I've been there before, and I usually like...
I like it because the main dude, the main barber, he cuts my hair pretty good and he doesn't talk to me and I like it. But when he's not there, he's got like these two ladies that work for him. And so I walk in and immediately these two little kids, like I'm talking two and four year olds, run up to me and are standing at my feet. And I don't mind kids. So I can talk to them like, hi, what are you doing? All that stuff. I would have turned around and walked out, man. But they don't leave me alone. Like, they just stand there, and I'm like, well, I don't know, like, where am I supposed to go? And they're just looking at me. And they're not saying, the people? No, and then I don't see any adults anywhere. Like, they're in the back, I guess. Right. And so I'm like, uh, hello? And so they finally come out, these ladies, and they, you know, start cutting my hair. And these two kids are freaking out in the store. Like, they're running around, like, on the waiting room chairs, jumping up on them, screaming, throwing their toys. And I'm like, how? And they're not saying anything. The adults aren't saying anything. And I'm like, well, how do they expect people to come back? This happens, too. You know, like, businesses, like, sometimes businesses, they'll take either their kids or their...
Yeah, their family's kids, they'll babysit there or whatever, and they don't say anything. Like, you don't know what's going on. Well, and they had an extra person there, so, like, they could have watched the kids, but they didn't care. No. They didn't care. That is so bizarre, man. And then, you know. Who cares? Like, I have a very specific way I like my haircut. Yeah. And I can never get it. It's never right. And I hate the part where they hand you the mirror, and you look at the hair, and you go. And you're supposed to say, oh, yeah, everything's great. Right. Like, I hate that part because it's never the way I like it. Yeah. And I'm always too afraid to say, you know, can you cut it shorter or can you do this? Right. Because I feel like they're offended when I do that. Yeah. But yesterday, I'm like, I wasn't even close to, like, how the length I wanted. Right. And so I said, forget it. I'm just telling her. And I said, no, can you cut it shorter here and do this? Yeah. You know? And I could tell she was like, okay. I guess so. I know better than you. Right. She's an artist, Eddie. All right. I hate it. Like, I can't find a place that I like. Did it come out the way you want it? No. I'm still not happy. It's still not, right? I'm still not happy. I'm still not happy. See, that happened to me. Same thing.
haircutting place, and the little kids were running around, but it turned out to be Big Al Cajuna and Rob. I'd gone to his house and mistake. And it was the two of them, and I'd mistake them for toddlers at first, and then I realized, oh, that's not what... Don't do that. I went to the wrong place. So, anyway. I'm mini-mini. Anyhood. Mikey Show. Hey, I got a great story about a guy that had a heart attack next to me when I was getting a haircut. Get out of here. Holy moly. No way. Yeah. What happened? What happened? So I was freaking out, and I didn't know what was going on. I called 911, and I wheeled him away in an ambulance. Was it a guy barber? No, it was the guy getting his hair cut. No, no, no, no, no. I'm saying the barber that started screaming, was it a guy? No, it was a girl. Oh, the girl started screaming. And how old did you say you were again? I was five. Oh, dude. That's not traumatic at all. Yeah, what a traumatic experience for a five-year-old to witness. Oh, man. Oh, my goodness.
Wow. Well, thank you for the call, man. P1AO is on the line. Ayo! Ayo! Good morning, everybody. Good morning, everybody. What's up, dude? And then I had a legitimate suggestion for Eddie. All right. Why don't you check out flawless cuts off of Wabash University? You know what? Listen. Eddie, you know what you need? You need to go to that place that Kenan McCardell used to go to when he was still here. The old barbershop? Yeah, the old barbershop. He says all it is black people. And yeah, go in there and that would be awesome. Yeah, for sure. That would be awesome. For the real. If I had hair, I would go check it out. Hey, thanks for the call. I appreciate it. P1 Danny. Danny, are you there? Yeah. Hey, Mikey. What's up? What's up, dude? Hey, love your show. Thank you. Eddie, I got a suggestion for you. Go ahead. What's that? I go to a place up in San Diego County called Sport Clips. They play ESPN while you're getting your hair cut, and they do a pretty good job. I go to Sports Clips too, but my problem with Sports Clips is there's always a wait. And when I'm ready to get my hair cut, I want to go get my hair cut, don't wait, get in and get out. No, you like your hair cut. Yeah.
Like you like your haircut. Exactly. And they do a good job, and it's cool because you're right. They have the sports on. They give you like a head massage. It's rad. I love sports clips. I mean, we used to go to sports clips in Dallas. You know, that's where it originated. And so I love sports clips, but my only problem is there's always a wait because it's so popular. But isn't it worth it at this point if people keep messing up your hair? Yeah, it is. It is. Do you have an appointment? I don't know. Guys don't do that stuff. Dude, I want a head massage, though. That's the best part. How long do they massage your head? You get this thing. I think it's called the MVP. You get a shampoo. When you get the shampoo, they full-on massage your head. It's like five minutes. They put the hot towel on your face. No gloves. Hey, if I give you $20, can you wash my hair for an hour? Who doesn't love their head being rubbed? I think that may be... We're all like cats in that regard. Hey, Mikey, what was the name of the song and artist you guys were playing in the background before the stand-up spotlight? That's P1 Little Lot. Yeah, Little Lot, but they put two E's in parentheses. What do you suppose that means? Lottie? Little Lottie? The song was Chick Habit by April March, and it's in a Quentin Tarantino movie.
Um, next one says, thanks guys. I'm now hooked on the El Diablo sandwich at Park Place. Good to hear because they're going to be selling them for you out at our P1 appearance at, uh, P1, uh, at K1 Speed in Carlsbad on Friday. Be out there from 5 to 7 and we would love to see you. Uh, P1 Rude Dog, interesting intros and loving the show. Yep, same song. Uh, This one says, Eddie, go to Mr. Cut in Rancho San Diego and ask for Alex. That's signed P1 Josh. Next one says, Eddie, go to Supercuts. They're great, and they give the massaging hair wash as well. You ever heard of them? I have heard of them. Oh, yeah. It's P1 Sneezy. Now, they may have mistyped on the text. Maybe P1 Sneezy, and they put Sneezy. Oh. Eddie, if you need a haircut and you're in the Carlsbad area. Oh, man. I'm not going to drive 45 minutes to get my hair done. I'm just not. Remember how he said I didn't want to wait even like 20 minutes? He says that he wants you to stop by Garcia's Barbershop, best in town. They know hair, but they don't talk, and they get you right. That's what every guy wants. I used to go to that barbershop where I lived in La Jolla that I loved because he would use hot...
shaving cream on your neck and use a straight razor. Yes, yes. That's what I want. It was rad. It was like the coolest experience. No, no. And then you do it on your sideburn too. No, no razors on the face. Nice, straight razor. Accidents, Eddie. Accidents happen. The guy's been doing that for like 50 years. Yeah, then he... No. You don't know him. I do know him. He scares me. I'm telling you, the last time... I used to have this barbershop I used to love to go to. And it was in Mission Valley. And I don't go there anymore because there's like too many fights there. I go in there, yeah. It seemed like there was a fight every single time I went in there. Like the last time I was in there, some dude was sitting in this other guy's chair. And it turned into a brawl. I had a tape recorder with me at the time. Like people were actually swinging? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got audio clip of it if you want to hear it. I was at, I mean, it was when I was there. Something on your mind? Check this out. This was at the barbershop I went to. I just want to let you know you're sitting in my chair. This is what happened. Is that a fact? Yeah, it's a fact. Well, for a man that don't go healed, you run your mouth kind of reckless, don't you? And they have someone playing the piano live? Right in there. There's like a little piano. Only person plays it when you enjoy your hair getting shampooed. I'm real scared. He stood up right there, and I was like, I'm just getting my hair cut. I'm real scared. I can see that in your eyes. All right.
Go ahead. Go ahead, skin it. He had a cat in his hand. Smoke wagon and see what happens. Listen, mister, I'm getting awful tired of your... I'm getting tired of your gas. Now jerk that pistol and go to work. I said throw down, boy. Ouch. What's going on? I'm gonna just stand there and bleed. Oh, that's tough. So you guys can see, I mean... I wouldn't go back there. No, I wouldn't either. The text number's 35253. Hang it up, daddy. Next, we're going to do something called lyrical gangsta. So, if you are a fan of lyrics and songs and you know lyrics really well, you're the type that sings along when you're in your car, this game is for you. Eddie, what do we have today as a prize? Well, we got more free races out at K1 Speed when we're out there with a free Sammy. Nice. Hey, baby boomers, I...
I don't want to get you guys too freaked out as you're listening right now, but one in eight of you are being diagnosed with something. Uh-oh. When we come back, I'll tell you... Hey, listen, if you're not a baby boomer, you know one. How old is your dad, Ashley? Fifty-three. He's a baby boomer. Uh-oh. One in eight are being diagnosed with this. I'll tell you what it is next. Mikey's show continues. Thank you for being big enough to laugh at yourself this morning. Starting to think about spring cleaning? that there is a report out that says that one in eight baby boomers will be diagnosed with what, Skye? With Alzheimer's. Oh. Oh, man. Yeah, that breaks down to about 14 million baby boomers can expect to get the disease or some other type of dementia within their lifetime. They say the first group of baby boomers baby boomers turned 62 this year and they say that symptoms of alzheimer's start to really accelerate after the age of 65 years old and also revealed uh women are twice as likely to develop the disease than men my mom's been forgetting a lot of stuff and uh she's been to the doctor and they're telling her she's fine and i'm like i don't know this don't seem fine no my grandma's going through the same thing like my grandma over the past i don't know maybe like 10 years is always kind of, oh, what's that person's name? What's the name of that street? But now, I just saw her over the weekend, it's like she's forgetting everyday words. But the same thing, she went to the doctor and they asked her the questions like, who's our president? What day of the week is it? And they say she's fine. She got Kaiser? My grandma, I don't know. She goes to Scripps. My mom goes to Kaiser.
And, uh, I was just, I was concerned that they were just kind of like, eh, in, out, you know, get in, get out. Um, but yeah, hers is real dramatic, you know, hers is real dramatic. So anyway, it's a big deal. Uh, how about some of this then? I like lyrics. And so if you do too, call us at 570-1053. Eddie, one more time on the prize. We got free races out at K1 Speed when we're doing our P1 party and a free sandwich. Nice. They got that L. Capitan out there. It's really good. The El Dorado is real delicious. You two have Alzheimer's. It's the El Diablo. So it's real good. Let's see. First up, Blake. Are you there, Blake? I'm here. Blake, how old are you? 24. What do you do for a living? I do customer service. You do customer service. Without saying the exact business, can you tell us the type of business? Insurance.
Insurance. There you go. Customer service for insurance. I bet you hear angry people during the day. Of course. Yeah, you get a lot of angry people. I got three categories for you today, Blake. We got Sounds of the 70s, 90s grunge rock, and metal power ballads. Which one do you want? Give me Sounds of the 70s. You got it. Your question is, in the song Listen to the Music by the Doobie Brothers, when should you listen to the music? You should listen to the music all the time. That's right, dude. They prefer that you listen to it all the time. Sorry about that, Blake. P1 Rebar. What's up, dude? I bet I know what you do. I'm a rebar guy. You're a rebar guy. That stuff is... I saw this special one time about how that stuff can be very dangerous if you are messing around with it and you don't know what you're doing.
Oh, yeah. The rebar. That's the stuff that holds the cement in place, right? Yeah, it's all the rebar that goes in the concrete. Yeah, and it makes sure... What's the purpose so that the concrete won't break and crack? The concrete is compression and the rebar is a tensile strength. Okay, the concrete is... Duh, Mike. The concrete is what? Duh. Okay, well, whatever. I don't know much about it, but you do, and that's all that matters. P1... P1 Rebar, here are your categories. Sounds of the 70s, 90s grunge rock, and metal power ballads. Metal power ballad. You got it. Your metal power ballad question is, in the song Close My Eyes Forever by Lita Ford, Ozzy asks, what is he supposed to do with a childhood what? I don't know. What is he supposed to do with a childhood tragedy? Oh. There it is. And it is. All right, sorry about that, P1 Rebar. All right, not a problem. Thank you. All right, dude. P1 John, you're up next. All right. John, how old are you? I'm 25. Where do you work, bro? I work for Universal Motion Pictures. Really? Sign me up. Dude. What do you do for Universal? I actually replicate DVDs for them. Okay, so meaning when they got a new release coming out.
You press it? Yep, sure do. I got two machines, two computers, sit in an office all day and pump out DVDs. That is pretty cool, dude. Oh, yeah, I love it. All right, here are your categories. 90s grunge rock, metal power ballads, and sounds of the 70s. Going with sounds of the 70s. You got it. Your sounds of the 70s question is in the song Horse With No Name by America. He says, I've been through the desert on a horse with no name. It feels good to be out of the what? It feels good to be out of the rain. That is correct. I wonder what that guy sounded like when he spoke, Norman. Please pass the ketchup. I'd also like a large Coke. P1 John, you're a winner. Hang on the line, please. P1 Kim is up next. Hi, Kim. Hi. Kim, your age? 31. And what do you do for a living? I analyze radiology billing. You analyze radiology billing? Hey, somebody's got to do it. Well, yeah. It's an important job. Do you enjoy the work? No. You do not enjoy the work. Is this a temporary thing or have you been doing it for a while? I've been doing it for a while. What about the people? Are the people at work cool? Yeah.
All right. They don't listen to the Mikey show. Then they're not that cool. They're not that cool. They're not that cool. Kim, your categories are Sounds of the 70s, Metal Power Ballads, and 90s grunge rock. Metal Power Ballads. You got it. Your question is, in the Cinderella song, Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone, he says, Don't know what you got till it's gone. Don't know what it is. I did so what? Long. That is incorrect. She said long. Did you say long? Yeah. It's not. I'm afraid it's not long. It's wrong. Very sorry about that, Kim. It's all right. You know what, though? Yes. The Raiders completely He traded for D'Angelo Hall and signed him to a seven-year, $70 million contract. Here are some of the texts that we're getting, and you can text us anytime you want at 35253. The first one says, Mikey, I once had a barber try to sell me timeshares and an Xbox while he was cutting my hair. Whoa. It's P1 one-way. Can you imagine that? That would be uncomfortable. You did, Sky? You had a chick cutting your hair trying to sell you something? It was actually the owner of the salon.
you know knew that i was sky and wanted to tell me all about what sort of business to call my business associate with a business proposal and okay what was it a complete prospectus yes it was some sort of like website where you download like you buy-in and then you download music and then you tell friends to go to your website instead of going to iTunes or something and then they buy the music off of you and you get a couple pennies for every song that they download from you. Is this another ham share? I get hit up with this all the time. If I ever do it, I'm doing it on my own. Thank you. Mikey, what movie is the clip about the guy sitting in the other guy's seat from? Oh, come on, people. Must be a woman. It's a one. Come on. That's from Tombstone, dude. Great movie, great scene. This one says, hey, did any of you guys see Marlee Matlin, the deaf girl, dance last night? I did. What did you think? Signed, P1 Suze. Sky, what'd you think?
Yeah, I was really impressed. Like, you know, because last night was the girls' first time dancing on Dancing with the Stars. And I kind of, before going in, thought I had it all figured out about who was going to be good and who wasn't going to be good. And I was actually surprised. Lots of things went the other way for me. How does she hear the music? She says... That sometimes she can like feel, you know, the beat and she can hear it if it's really, really loud. Rob is inappropriately laughing. Sean started. Okay, Sean started and it became like contagious. Then Rob picked up on it. Sean has something in his head right now, I'm sure. That he's thinking... Now, this is Marley speaking through her male interpreter. Cut 52. I would be lying if I said that it's not going to be a challenge to teach Marley. So I decided to do a test to check and see how much Marley could actually hear. It's okay. Two. Cha-cha. One. Two. Three. Depending on the music, I can sometimes hear the beat. But I'm profoundly deaf. Profoundly deaf.
She's got a deep voice. That is really a trick word. It's not what I expected her to sound like at all. So she says that, yeah, she can read lips really well, but it's tiring for her, she said. So she brings an interpreter with her everywhere who signs everything for her. So she danced good? Yeah, she was good. And who else was good, who I thought was not going to be good, was Priscilla Presley. I was really shocked. And then who I thought was going to be good, who wasn't so good? Shannon Elizabeth. Not so good. Awkward and I'm a puppet. I got big old limbs. Big old limbs? She does. She's got long ass legs and arms and she didn't know what to do with all that. Really? I thought that was like a new ghetto saying for boobs when you first said it. Hey, check out that girl's limbs. Uh, This last text says, love you guys and the show. Long live the McRib and William Shatner. Nice. Can't wait to hang with you guys on Friday at K1. Text number 35253 if you want. Check out this email. Tell me what you're calling about this, 570-1053. And, of course, text us at 35253. It's a message about texts. Hey, Mikey Show and Gang, I love the show, and you guys get me through the morning every day.
I heard you reading some emails and texts this morning and I wanted to get your take on something. Now, we actually had this. This text came in yesterday or this email came in yesterday, but we didn't have time to get to it. So I want to read it today. It says, my girlfriend hates text messaging. She refuses to do it. She thinks it's impersonal when I text her and she'll never write me back. She says, why would I text you if I can just talk to you? Do you not want to talk to me? Oh, no. I tell her that it is just easier than having to call when it's something real quick. She doesn't get it. How can I convince her to join this decade? Signed, P1 Kane. Yeah, bro. I mean, there is either the texter or the not texter. I'm the texter. I enjoy it. I enjoy it. I think it's fun. And I'm a better, sometimes I'm a, Sometimes I enjoy communicating through writing more than I do through speech. But I understand the people that hate it. I got a friend named Wendy. Hates text messaging. Does not like when she's dating a guy and he texts her. She thinks she's offended by it. She won't tell them. It's so weird. But she is offended by it. I know that Ashley does not like texting. She said it on the air the other day. She doesn't like it.
Eddie, how are you on texting? I feel that I was the original texter on this show. Really? I really do. I feel like I was kind of the one who was like, yeah, I'm into texting. I think that could be true. I think you started it back in San Jose, right? Yeah, yeah. I was really into texting, and you guys were like, texting? What's weird? Actually, Eddie invented texting in his basement. I came up with it. No, but that's true. I think you were the first guy on the show to start doing it. Yeah, I was. And I dig it. I mean, I've always really dug it. Yeah. Sky. Because I hate using the phone. Sky. I'm all over the map with it. In regards to your friend Wendy and like when she's dating a dude, yeah, when you're early dating, no, not appropriate. Why not? It seems rude. It seems too impersonal. You need to go through the trouble of picking up the phone when you're first dating a girl. Well, you're not asking them out. You're just sending little messages to them. Isn't it cute? Yeah, there's a difference. Like if you send a little sweet message, like thinking about you, okay. But if you're actually like communicating, no, not appropriate. Like if you're making plans.
Well, it didn't work out so well, did it? Really, it didn't? Yeah. I thought it worked out pretty good. You guys never saw each other again. Yeah, that's right. Eddie, when you were first getting to know her, would you text her actual communication other than sweet things? We would do both. We would talk on the phone, but I would absolutely text her information and stuff like that. Sky, you're out on that. It's okay to say, hey, hon, I'm thinking about you. Right. But you don't want... Hey, where should we get dinner tonight? No, not when you're, you know, freshly dating. I'm not in on that. And then for everything else, I'm okay if it's like a quick thing, like Ashley was saying. But if it's something that involves a back and forth, just pick up the phone, dude. 570-1053. And I want to hear from everybody. I want to hear from married dudes that are, you know, 45. And I want to hear from, you know, a 20-year-old girl. I want to hear from everybody because everybody, the truth of the matter is that everyone is doing this. It's not an age thing. Now, typically younger people do it more, but people of every age text message. Now, I'm interested in hearing Sean because Sean is really into technology.
I don't think I've ever text messaged with Sean. I think I've gotten one or two from him. Yeah, me too. I was going to say, maybe one. Sean, do you like it? You know, like all things, I think it has its place. There's an appropriate time to use it, and there's an inappropriate time. And I feel like people... generally use it way too much, and they use it for inappropriate things, like carrying on a conversation. If you want to have a conversation, have a conversation. If you just want to send a very quick note that doesn't require a response, but you just want to tell someone something, I think texting is a great way to do that. It's a great way to do it quickly and not interrupt anyone's life in the process. But if you want to have a conversation... Well, don't you have conversations through email? I don't even like conversations through email. I do it when people initiate it because I feel like they are saying to me, I don't want to talk on the phone. I don't want to take up a lot of time with this. So let's do email. But I don't generally like to initiate a conversation through email either. Let me see. I'm looking on here to see if I have any texts from Sean. I bet you I don't. Probably not. But you know what's interesting as I look on here?
I'm realizing that I almost have exclusive text message relationships. Relationships that exist primarily through text message. And were it not for text messaging, I would not communicate. Yeah. My friend Ty, the bass player for Third Day, and I text message. But we rarely talk. I have some people that I just text message all the time. Craig and I. We don't talk that much. But we text a lot. My friend Terry. We text mostly. Very rarely do we talk on the phone. Lou Bush. I always ask Lou questions on text message. There's one on here from Miles. I don't talk to him that much. It's mostly text. My closest girlfriend and I don't talk on the phone. We only text. But you hate it. I'll respond like one word answers to her. Are you trying to give her the hint?
No, like, that's just how we communicate. Yeah. My problem with texting and why I don't like it is, like, for me, it's just been getting me in trouble with my boyfriend. Yeah. Because I'll, like, respond. Because your other boyfriends, you got text message conversations going on. Yeah, I'll respond and, like, he won't get it and it'll be, like, you know, he'll be, like, asking me a question that's important. Like, well, what do you want to do for dinner? And, like, I'll respond right away and he'll never get it. And so then he thinks I'm ignoring him and it hurts his feelings. That's happened like four times. Like, how do you how does that play out? Like, what will he say? How come you didn't text me back? Like one night I was here at the station doing work and then he lives close by. So I was going to go to his house to spend the night after. And he texted me, you know, do you I'm going to pick up some sushi. Do you want some? And I wrote back. No, I'm fine. Go ahead and get some for yourself. And then I got over there. I'm like, where's the sushi? He's like, well, you never wrote back. So I don't know. You know, and like he didn't. even get dinner and I felt really bad. Huh. But you did text back. Yeah, I did. But he never got it. Well, that's a... Which happens with my phone a lot. Yeah, that's an issue. That's a phone issue. Yeah, it's a phone issue. You know what I mean? Yeah. Let's see. P1 Melina blocks her texting. What? Whoa. Melina, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. You block it so that people cannot text you.
That's right. What happens when they try to text you? Do they get a message that says this text thing is turned off or something? You know, I care so little about the texting that I haven't even asked them what happened when they text me. Wow. Why do you not like it? Because it's totally impersonal. And the amount of time that I see people driving down the road all the time texting. And you know what? It's dangerous. Plus, it takes too much time. And it's just easier for me to just push the... the speed dial button of the friend that I'm trying to talk to and say, hey, how are you doing? It's a psychological thing. It might be, but the way I look at it is that if you want to talk to me, call me. Well, here's the deal. There are the people like me that feel more comfortable communicating that way instead of the actual voice on the phone. And then there is a whole other psychology of people that are bothered and or hurt by the fact that you won't take the time to speak to them one-on-one.
To me, I think it takes more time to text than it does to actually push one button and talk to the person. It does. It does take more time. But there's something safer about it. Yeah. To the texter. Really? Yes, yes, yes. There is something safe. But if you're my friend, why do you feel unsafe if you're talking to me? That just seems so strange. Well, it may not be an issue necessarily that you're unsafe. You're an unsafe person. That may not be it. I think that what it may be more is just an overall feeling on the texter's part of safety in general, an overall safety in general thing. So then when they're driving down the road texting, they're totally safe, right? Yeah, yeah, no, I see what you're saying. I think a different kind of safety. I understand what you're saying. You're coming to it from the other end. P1 Dave, are you there? Yeah. You think texting actually helps in the beginning of a relationship. Yes, I do. Because, you know, at the beginning, there's a bunch of awkward pauses. That texting actually helps skip it. And you get to skip that awkwardness and you get to learn more about the person. Yeah. Yeah, I think it could be very intimate. I think it can. I really do. I think that texting can be very intimate. I think that you, when you're texting somebody, and especially if you've got a clever sense of humor. Yeah.
and you're texting the right things, you can really, you know... But how can you interpret that sense of humor through, you know what I mean? You can. You can get a joke. Like, what if Clown School Zed is texting and, you know, I got a... You said clever sense of humor. Oh. Now. Wait, say again? I said you got more time to think of what you're going to say so you don't sound stupid when you're saying it. You can actually kind of comprehend before you text it. There you go. I'm telling you, that's what I did with my wife. I was being a goofball and she thought it was funny and she liked it. Yeah. All through text. I'll do that too. Boston Rob will not even take phone calls. No. How odd is it, how ironic is it that he will not take your phone call yet his job is to phone screen? That is ironic. Once I'm out of work, no phone calls. Oh, is that what it is? Yeah, that's what it is. Is that what it is? I'm going out. I'm going out. Busy guy. I'm a text junkie. That's it. And you guys are right. If you got a clever sense of humor, you can make that girl smile just with the simple text. Is that what you do? Oh, yeah. It may dig your smile. You know what I mean? You know? Yeah. What's the last clever thing? What's the last thing? No, no, no. What is the last text message from you to your fiance? Can you read it? It might just be boring because it might be something from me going up there last night.
Yeah, it was just me telling her, like, when I was getting up there. But during the day, I'll text her, like, you know, I love you, or occasionally I'll throw in, keep it on the hush, but I get a wicked big crush on you. Oh, wow. Look at that guy. Oh, yeah. Look at that guy. I'll sprinkle those in throughout the week just to make a smile, you know? Your money, your money. Thank you. You know what's going on, kid. Yeah, yeah. But you got to do that, you know? Yeah, keep it fresh. Yeah, keep it real fresh. Yeah. I texted Rob a couple of weeks ago. That he had a crush on me. Yeah, the same exact thing. Made me smile. I texted him and I said something really funny that he had said on the air and I was complimenting him on it. And he wrote me back and he said, Whoa, are you sure you're texting the right person? This is B-Rob, not Eddie. If you're texting me, then thank you very much. I thought he was trying to get Eddie. P1 Steven. Hey, what's going on, guys? What's up, man? Hey, so the text message is pretty important at the beginning of a relationship, I think. You can learn a lot of great things about someone. But more than that, the text message is a way of life. For the generation of people that are my age...
Like, Skye, you don't understand because you're old. Wow. Skye, he's got a point there. Skye does have a walker right next to her right now. I know I'm only 30 years old, but okay. Well, you just got to understand, there's professors in class. They're like, oh, you can't have your cell phone out in class. Put your cell phone away. Disrespectful. It's like, I have so much going on in my life. The text message. Keeps me locked down with everything I got going on. You got a lot going on. I'm locking down. I've got to change your diaper. You got nappy time. Burn the bottle. Play dates. Thank you for the call. This one says, this text message says, what about when you're in a meeting? You can't call. That's when it's just easier to text them. I do that all the time. I'll be in, especially when I'm in meetings with radio station management. I just said that out loud, huh? Yeah. I think that's rude when people are in a meeting. I actually didn't mean to just say that. Yeah, yeah. Well, you were joking. I was just kidding around. You always make jokes. For the show. Yeah, I make jokes for the show, but yeah. Well, now that it's out there. Uh-oh. No. Sometimes I do that when I'm sitting behind a, because he can't see it, you know.
I shouldn't have said that. Stop saying that. Mr. Bollinger, I am sorry I said that. I've only done that one time and I was in a bad place mentally when I did that. I was in a bad place mentally. You know what I'm saying? Thank you very much. I feel like I just scared my boyfriend away from ever texting me again. Maybe that's what you needed to do, Ash. Let him know you don't like that stuff. Normally, he texts me a good morning text right around this time, and he hasn't yet. Oh, no. So now I think I just ruined it. It's over. Hey, don't worry. You guys weren't getting married anyway, so... They are getting married. What are you talking about? Oh, they are. Congrats. This one says I'm 21 and I text everyone. I text them for plans. Or even for something really quick, but some people think it's weird that my boyfriend's mom and I text. Okay, that is interesting. That is... That is... That's a little... Eddie, you don't text your mother-in-law, is what you're saying? I don't even think she has a cell phone. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Yeah, Mom? On the right, it's tough on some spots, but overall getting by with a fairly light community this morning, especially out of the South Bay and this 805 northbound. You're good to go here all the way through National City, North Park, no problems. And then you get into Kearney Mesa, and that's where it jams up on you from the 163, and that's a slow one towards Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. Northbound 5, a little bit tougher here out of the South Bay, approaching the South Bay Freeway up through National City. The West 94 on the King Freeway, you're looking clear here all the way to downtown. That's a nice-looking freeway here this morning. West 8, though, is seeing some brake lights from just past college wearing out toward the round of the 15. That continues slow as you make that right turn on the northbound 15, which is kind of tough. Actually begins out of City Heights down through the valley up to Murphy Canyon to Arrow Drive. South 15, coming out of Escondido. Things are easing up a little bit here. A little so from the auto parkway to Via Rancho, but things are actually tougher out of Carmel Mountain Ranch down into Poway right now. The coaster ride on southbound side of the 5 staying heavy as well out of Lucadia in the Solana Beach. And to watch for some leftovers flowing from an accident now clear on the eastbound side of the 78 near Sycamore. I'm McLaurin on Rock 1053. Arturo Fuentes. Hey, I just wanted to call and share my AIS story. Yeah, that's what Rob says up here, that you went to AIS and that you saved money. Oh, yeah. I'm down from $290 a month to $134 a month, so I save about $2,000 a year. I've got a my-fault accident. I pull a bunch of tickets, and I drive about 5,000 miles a month. You're just a regular guy.

I picked my nose a lot. Eddie. I just want my sandwich like I want my sandwich. Sky. I enjoy presents. Sean. I'm Boston Rob. I'm kind of the transient of the bunch. And Ashley. I'm a very loving, nurturing person. On Rock 105.3. I'm kicked out all over again in Mountain View, right, Eddie? Yeah! Welcome back. It is 7.53. The president gave a speech this morning marking the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq. The Celtics ended the Rockets' 22-game win streak, the second longest win streak in NBA history. The text number is 35253. More time, Ash. 35253. If you have not joined the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, please join. It is... You just text the word Mikey to 35253. Eddie, Sky does not understand. Neither does my wife. She doesn't understand. No. She thinks... He thinks...
She puts Van Halen in the hairband category. So wrong. Oh, my gosh. Eddie just got so offended. I know. I know. That's ridiculous. She says, Rebecca goes, Cinderella, Warrant, Van Halen. No. No. So wrong. Definitely. Van Halen started in the 70s. I know. Like I know. It's the same thing. I don't put Aerosmith in the hairband category. No. No, you can't. They're icons. They're hard work. But see, Aerosmith... continued to put out hits after the 80s. So did Van Halen. That was one. When did that come out? That was a number one record. That was in the 90s. Yeah. Yeah. That was 91. Yeah. Yeah. Hey. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Me-wise Magic. Yeah, Me-wise Magic, say. No, that wasn't for twisty. That was on that Best Of. Yeah, that was on the Best Of, say. Oh my gosh. I don't remember the one. I can't think of it either. The heck was that? I don't know, but it's going to bother me until I find it. Yeah, Me-wise Magic was Dave Lee Roth. This was Sammy. Let's just sit here and think about it. They didn't wear, like, the The aquanet and the eyeliner and stuff like that. That's not Van Halen, that. That's right. Just the spandex and the leopard print. They didn't wear spandex. They didn't wear spandex. David Lee Roth did a couple of times. A couple of times. David Lee Roth. Like every day. He's the front man, yo. Every day he walked out of the house. He was more about like leather pants. Like, you know, to think of them as a leather band. All right. Well, you got me there, Mike. That was cool. Let's see.
Holy moly. I don't know. Uh-oh. What is that I am that Rob just sent me? Is that for real? What? IT's here, man. Come down after the break. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. I just got it. I just got it. I just got it. What? I want to know. I misread it. I misread it. What the? I thought Rob said the lead singer of Incubus was on his way down here. Well, he practically is. And he said, no, it's a guy that looks like the lead singer from Incubus. And he does. But I was like, when I first read it, I'm like, are we having that guy Brandon, what's his name, from Incubus down here? And I'm like, Eddie forgot to tell me about it. It's all good. He looks like him. Here are some of our text messages we're getting. Hey, Mikey. Third time war vet female. What do you guys think, or what do you think it's worth writing Huck in on the ballot this fall? P1 Mud. That's a bad idea. Don't do that. Waste of a vote. Waste of a vote. A. Mikey, what do you guys think about the game show Moment of Truth? Oh, I hate it. I haven't seen it. Eddie was grossed out. Yeah. I hate it. Rob hates it. Skye, weren't you grossed out too? Yeah, the whole concept is creepy. And Ashley says that. Yeah.
Hey, Mikey, just wanted to say thank you for playing the song Sit On You. It is now my ringtone and I got my kids singing it. They're three and four. You guys rock. Hey, Mikey, what was the quote you said yesterday about God's perfect plan? That's rejection. Anybody going through rejection? If you're going through rejection, just remember that's God's perfect and ultimate plan for your protection. I like that one. It's P1 Porter. Let's see. Why don't we do something that we like to call the secret crush? Speaking of rejection. That is correct. It's possible. It is possible. It happened last week, man. Hey, listen. Sometimes the ladies don't feel the same way we do. Sometimes they do, but sometimes they don't. That's just the way it is. As fellas, we have to get used to this. Think of it like this. This segment can be about tough love. Sometimes you need to hear that no before you get to the yes. Tough love it is. Tough love. You got to go through the valley before you get to the mountain. Are you saying no means yes? I'm saying, well, wait a minute. No, I'm not saying. I don't think you mean that. Not without a roofie in my hand. I mean, I think you understand that what I meant was no means no. P1 Dean is on the line. Hello, Dean.
We're good. Hang on a minute. You're probably able to hear me a lot better now. Dean, you are calling for secret crush because you like a young filly. Please don't call her a filly. She's a Motown filly. I actually heard she was a Motown filly and she was back again. A little east coast swine. A little east coast swine. Okay. Dean. Dean, for my sake and for the sake of the listeners, I'm going to ask you some questions about yourself and about this young woman, all right? Sounds good. Dean, how old are you? I am 22. 22. Oh, Dean is the dude that sent us a picture and Ashley saw it on your computer. Is that the same dude? Yes. Sky, you saw this guy too. Is this the one that you guys were both freaking out about that was real good looking? Is this a good looking guy with a brown hair? Oh, that guy? Yeah, the guy that I thought was really hot too. Oh, well, hello, Dean. It's nice to have you on the program. I want Ashley to hear it because she thought he was good looking. Oh, thank you. Anyway, Dean is 22 years old. And what do you do for a living, Dean? I go to San Diego State. I'm a junior. All right. He's a junior at State. Hey, Ash. What's that? This is that guy that you and Sky thought was good looking that was on Eddie's computer the other day that sent the picture that wanted to be on The Secret Crush. Remember the hot guy? The guy with the dark hair.
Dean, Dean, the sexy machine. Dean, Dean, the sexy machine. We don't need to go there, guys. Hello. Sweet. The thing that I remember the lady saying was that why is this guy doing the secret crush and not just asking flat out because he was a real good looking kid. I only remember his dimples. So, Dean, for people that have not got to see you, The dark hair. He's got dark hair. Describe yourself, Dean, to everybody listening so that they know what you look like. And then we're going to ask you to describe the girl that we're going to call. Okay. I'm about 6'2". I play on the lacrosse team. Yeah, he does. I'm in really good shape. You know, I think I'm pretty good looking. Just say, buddy. You're hot. No! Wow. Do you surf? Because you look like you surfed. You look like you can, too. He likes another girl. We're just helping. Yeah, it's a question. Yeah, Dean, I'll be honest with you. You have the appearance that makes me secretly judge you. So anyway, he's 6'2". He's got dark hair. And what is the name of the girl that you want to do the secret crush with? Her name is Casey. She's actually my tutor for English. Is that right? Okay, how old is she?
I guess about my age. I guess 21, 22. So she goes to state. What's that? I'm sorry. She goes to state as well. Yeah, that's right. Ashley is an alumni. She's your tutor. And she tutors you in what? English. In English. Yeah, it's a tough subject for me. So she's been my tutor for about... I bet it is, Mr. Hanson. Yeah, really? Can't have it all, Mike. Yeah, that's right. Trust me, Sky. Okay. All right, so what does Casey look like? Well, she's, you know, shorter than I am. She's got, like, cute long brown hair. So she is not 6'2", is what you're saying. She's got long brown hair. Yeah, she kind of dresses conservatively. She's got, like, cute little Tina Fey-type glasses, you know. And, like, a cute little dimple on her chin. She kind of, she, you know. Like Tom Brady.
Yeah, like Tom Brady. She definitely what? She's definitely like a bookworm type. Like a plain Jane? Yeah, you know. I mean, some people would say that. I don't think she is. I think she's beautiful, but she kind of looks like maybe a more conservative Ally McBeal or something like that, you know? This is shocking to me. It's hot. Now, is she a makeup? Or not that much makeup? Or no makeup? No, she doesn't wear makeup at all. This is not what I would have thought. That's like Beauty and the Geek. What's going on with you, Dean? Were you in a horrific car accident as a child and you were deformed and then just recently had plastic surgery? Yeah, because the guy that we saw looked like Dean Cain. Well, yeah. You're an angel. Well, here's the deal. The girl that you're describing, she kind of looks like Becca from Life Goes On. Wait a second. Hang on, hang on. Well, the thing is, is that what's interesting is that he's describing a gal that seems very... Like Becca? No. He's describing a six and he is a ten. Jeez. Well, I'm just saying, if we're going off description and photograph it...
Evidence. I think that she's right. I gotta agree. I gotta... Hey, but listen. Which is rad. It is. I mean, the reason that I'm surprised is you don't hear that very often. No. Right. You just don't... There's something about her that, I mean, she's really smart and... Dude, you don't gotta tell me. I think it's amazingly cool, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'm being serious, dude. Yeah. I think it's amazingly... It's amazing. She also, like, she also, like, she believes in me that I can get better at this and, you know, and it's like... And that's... That means something, you know? It is very rare that you hear dudes. Right? Women take the... Yeah, listen. Women trade down all the time. Oh, he's funny. That's why I have a wife. Oh, come on. That's why I have a beautiful wife. Women do it all the time. Guys don't do it very often. Go ahead, Ash. I was just going to say, especially with all the hot tail that is at SDSU, I'm, like, shocked that... This is rash. Well, we don't know what she looks like. She could be a beautiful girl. Yeah, he says she is. Dean says that she is a beautiful girl. She sounds nerdy, which is all right. Yeah. Well, this is how Dean describes... Now, wait a minute. Dean, does she have any clue that you like her? I don't think so at all. She's going to freak.
I don't think so, although I did maybe tip my hand a little bit like three weeks ago. I asked her if we could meet twice a week instead of once a week. I don't know if she picked up on that. Oh, yeah. Hello. But I really just want to take her out on Friday night instead of... And you know she's single. Yeah, I think so, yeah. If you're just tuning in right now, Dean's 22 years old. He's a junior at State. He's 6'2". He's got dark hair. Ashley and Sky both saw him. Lean Dean, the sexy machine. And said he's real good looking. You know, me and Eddie, we can't tell if a guy's good looking. We're straight, man. We're straight. So we can't tell, man. All we saw is some dude. We're like, yeah, whatever. He probably farts. But anyway, he wants to ask out his tutor in English. He says she's 21 or 22. Her name is Casey. And she's got long brown hair. Very conservative. She wears like kind of Tina Fey glasses. Doesn't wear makeup. And described a girl that is a very plain Jane. But he says she's really pretty and he thinks she's... There's something about her, man. There's something about her. Love it. Here's what we're going to do, Dean. We are going to take a quick time out. When we come back, we're going to call Casey. Now, I'm going to tell you what I tell every single guy and every single girl that does the Secret Crush deal.
You have to really talk. You can't give five or ten seconds of, I think you're really interesting and I want to go out. Did you see the picture? He doesn't have to is what you're saying? He doesn't really need to. Stop being so shallow. He just needs to say, hi, this is Dean. And he's good. You had me at Dean. Dean, she's probably right, but I want you to... Just in case. Yeah, just in case, I want you to give it a shot where I want you to tell Casey exactly what it... Dude, tell Casey why you think she's beautiful. Okay. Good one. You know, us good-looking guys, we go through this stuff all the time. Is that right? We get treated like pieces of meat. You know what? We have feelings. I'm curious. Now, guys... I want everybody listening right now to get into this mindset if you can. We come back. This guy is going to ask out this girl. And this girl is probably not used to getting asked out maybe by guys like Dean every day. She's probably not used to that. And he's going to tell her why he thinks that she is as beautiful as he thinks she is. And he's going to tell her.
what it is about her personality that makes him go crazy for her. And then he's going to tell her that he's got a secret crush on her and ask her if they can go out this weekend, Dean? That'd be perfect. All right. So when we get back, we're going to do that. Don't go away. It's a job packed with adventure. There's a few tough spots on our freeways this morning. As you head south from the 5, you're going to find a backup still out of Lucadia down in toward the racetrack in Del Mar.
Watch for some left-over slowing on the eastbound side of the 78th. An earlier accident near Sycamore has been cleared for some time now, but still has you slow from Escondido Avenue to that area right there, and then you're pretty much on your way after that. Southbound side of the 15th, breaking up a little bit out of Escondido. A little tougher, though, for the Carmel Mountain Ranch down in towards Poway. The westbound 56th has also got a slow ride here as you come out of Rancho Panosquitos. Hit you right around Rancho Sanofi Farms, and that's a slow ride through Carmel Valley. Looking pretty nice out of the east county. The westbound 52 is a nice one out of Santee. The westbound 8, pretty much good to go into Mission Valley. You will find some heavy traffic, though, on the 15 northbound coming off the 8 through the Murphy Canyon. That actually starts out of City Heights down to Murphy Canyon up to Arrow Drive. Coming up out of the South Bay, looking nice here. It's been great out of the South Bay on the 5, 805 northbound up to the National City. 805 does get heavy, though, out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over the 52. And south of the 163 is going to be a busier ride coming off the 8th freeway out through Battle Bowl Park, heading in towards downtown. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. At the gym. Yeah, I'm so cool. Heather Mills reportedly dumped a pitcher of water on Paul McCartney's lawyer's head after the divorce settlement was read. Mount St. Mary's wins the opening round game to get into the NCAA tournament over Coppin State. Their reward, they get to play number one seed, North Carolina. Oh, how fun. Welcome back. We're in the middle of a secret crush. This one is a little different. We got an email from this guy, Dean. and Ashley and Skye got to see a picture of him on Eddie's computer when he sent it in, and they both thought that he was an attractive person. Yeah. And he, they, I think it was Skye that said, why is he doing this? He's very pretty. He reminds me of kind of like a frat guy at SDSU. A very tall frat guy. He's 6'2", and Skye said that he looks like he is a surfer. Yeah. You know what I mean, ladies? Yeah, I know what you mean. Yeah. What kind of girl, Skye, would you, if you had to describe a girl that you would put this guy with, who would it be? Me. It would definitely be me. I know you like him. I love him. The blonde sorority girl cheerleader. She may have fake breasts. Right. And a tiny little waist. Not all that's fake. Yeah. Yeah.
Dirty Girls guy. Yeah. I'm just saying. Ash, same thing. You'd put him maybe with one of those sorority types? Yeah. Well, to go with my analogy, I would put him with what would be considered a sorority chick from SDSU. Yeah. There you go. It's very similar to what Sky said. Well said. Yeah. Well said. Well said. It's like you guys are very similar. You don't go to SDSU. I know. That's why I wouldn't understand. Well, he does, so he gets it. He gets it. Dean, are you there? Nothing. Dean. Dean, how are you? I'm good. How are you? Good. So, I'm sure you heard this conversation. The gals say that they would put you with, well, they said different things. Skye said she would put you with like a sorority type, and Ashley said I would go a step further. I would put you with like a sorority type from SDSU. Whoa! That's good. Yeah, so... So different. Yeah, very different, but still kind of similar in a way, you know. Is that... Now, what kind of girls do you usually go for, Dean? I hate to say it, but I've usually dated, you know, blondes, cheerleaders, those types. So, you know, that's like the past three girls I've dated have been pretty much that exact type. Nice. Casey. Casey, the girl that he likes. Yeah, yeah. What is wrong with that? I'm just asking.
Send those pictures. I don't think there's anything wrong with a guy liking, you know, good-looking girls. Well, I'm just saying, obviously, it hasn't worked out so well. You'd be happy if he said he's in the heavy, haughty sky, huh? Is that what would make you happy? Well, no, I'd say, obviously, it's not working out. You've got to find something different. Take it easy. Something with a little more substance. Like me. Happily married, Eddie. Something with a little bit more length of bone. Someone that, you know, matured a bit. My name's Sky. What's happening? This is what we're going to do. We are going to... We're going to call Casey right now. I'm going to tell her that it's me and then I want you... And we're going to hope that nobody's called her already and told her. But you're going to tell her exactly what you like about her. And you're going to tell her exactly what it is about her that you think is so beautiful. And that applies to any woman. It doesn't matter who she is or what the deal is. You always tell them that. Tell her you like her GPA. That's right. What's important for listeners to know that are just tuning in is Casey is Dean's tutor. Casey does not fall into that sorority look. She falls into the more conservative bookworm.
No makeup wearing category. Glasses. Love it. Naturally beautiful. This is the type of girl that does not go and have probably the eyebrows and the makeups and the nails and do all that stuff. Not doing keg stands? She's not. All right. Are you ready, Dean? This is hell, but I'm ready. All right. Here we go. Hang on. Hi. Can I speak to Casey, please? Yeah, this is... Casey. Hey, Casey. This is Mikey from Rock 105 from The Mikey Show, and I need to let you know that you're on the air right now, okay? I'm on the radio. You are on the radio. And the reason that I'm calling is because every week on Wednesday, we do something called Secret Crush. And the idea behind Secret Crush is that we call people and let them know that there is somebody in their life, in their world, that has a crush on them.
But they don't know it. So you don't know it. You don't know who this person is. That's odd. It is. You know what? You know what? Now that you mention it, it is kind of odd. It is kind of odd. But it's also kind of romantic. And so somebody in your life, Casey, has a crush on you and you just don't know who it is. Is this a joke? It is not a joke. It is not a joke. This person wrote us an email. and said that over this length of time that he's got to know you, he has developed feelings for you, but he didn't really know how to go about letting you know in person. Really? Say what? Really? Yes. Someone's got feelings for me? Somebody has feelings for you. And they didn't know how to say it in person and thought that it might be kind of adventurous.
to come on the radio and actually do it on the radio. And do you have, I don't want you to say any names. You may or you may not know. Do you have an idea of who this might be? No, I have no idea. I can't really believe anybody has a crush on me. I have no idea. Really? The person's name is Dean. Yes. Jackpot. What up, girl? Uh, Casey, Dean is on the phone right now. Are you there, Dean? Hey. Hey, Casey. I'm going to turn it over to Dean now, Casey, and I'm going to let Dean tell you what he wanted to tell you. Okay. How are you, sweetie? Hi, Dean. Okay. I'm sorry I'm doing it this way. I was just, I didn't really know how to approach it. But, you know, we've gotten to know each other for the past couple of months now that you've been helping me out.
And I just wanted to tell you that I just find you captivating and smart. I think you're beautiful. And I look in your eyes and it's just, I get nervous and I get anxious. And I love the little pimple on your chin. It's so cute. And I find that when you're talking and you're explaining things to me and we're going through studying, I find that I just am staring at your lips wanting to kiss you. That takes confidence. That takes confidence.
So, yes. Neither could Sky or Ashley, but if we're being honest. But now, hang on. Oh, my God. I want to go out with you, Dean. That is awesome. I'll say. That is awesome. I feel like a million bucks right now. That is awesome. Let me tell you something. It's one of the gayest bits we do, but for whatever reason, I like it. I love it. I love it. I don't know why. There's something about it. Well, then you look like Dean. I just, you know, I don't want to ruin the moment, but if it doesn't work out with you guys, then Sky and Ashley are definitely interested, Dean. I realize they're both taken, but, you know, and if they don't, then me and Eddie will. We thought you were pretty good looking, too. I mean, I listen six days a week. You guys are awesome. Appreciate it, bro. Thank you. I'm a P1 because of my girlfriend, Lynn, who turned me on the station. Now we got you guys on all everything and stuff like that. Home of the P1s and stuff like that. I loved the action and I thought I could win it all back. Nobody could tell I had a problem. I wouldn't believe it. For a while, it was easy to hide. In the end, I lost more than money. A message from the California Office of Problem Gambling. Out of Encinitas towards Solana Beach. A little slow down here still on the eastbound side of the 78th. An earlier accident near Sycamore has been out of the way for some time. It's still finding some traffic around it. As you head south in the 15th, that is looking pretty nice out of Escondido actually. But still some reduced speeds through Rancho Bernardo, Carmel Mountain Ranch down into Poway. The westbound 56th also backing up still approaching Rancho Santa Fe Farms for a slow ride through Carmel Valley. The west 52th, man, you're good to go out of Santee all the way down the entire stretch of the 5th. The westbound 8th clear.
West 94 is also smooth in the downtown. And both the 5 and the 805 northbound looking completely up to speed out of the South Bay. 805 does grab you for a slow ride, though still out of Kearney Mingsler from Balboa to Governor Drive from the Golden Triangle. Don McLawrence on Rock 105.3. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I am a recovering alcoholic who did go to rehab. Eddie. I'm a very good driver, but terrible Parker. Sky. For the record, I will not respond to him. Sean. I am a watching star. Boston Rock. I'm kind of the transient of the bunch. And Ashley. I love penguins. They're my favorite. On Rock 105. Very upset at Eddie. It's sweet. It's not funny. I can't help it. It's beautiful. What do you want me to do? It's instinctual. I don't know what to do. You should be happy. You should be like, oh, that's so wonderful. We did something so good. Eddie was talking to the girl that we called Casey. He was talking to her off the air. Oh, she was crying. It was making me laugh. Tears of joy. Oh, boy.
He put his hand over his mouth and I was like, and I could tell he was like a little laugh. And I'm like, what is going on? He did that like voice thing where he was starting to choke up. I can't help it. It's funny. And Skye did the head to the side sigh like. I started. That was funny. Eddie can't help it, man. It makes him laugh. If I could make it stop, I would. Well, you should work on it. I can't help it. You should work on it. It is 830. He's making me laugh. I didn't do anything. I thought it was very sweet. It's 8.35. Yesterday, 37 citations were issued during a sting targeting unlicensed drivers at the Chula Vista Courthouse. SDSU plays Florida tonight in the NIT opener. Tip-off's going to be about 6 o'clock. Welcome back. Our text number is 35253. So if you want to send us a text, hit us at 35253.

We're having and his wife over for what we call Doc Night on Friday. What? Well, we've never done it. You guys play doctor? No, no, no. Nice. I see. No, we... Oh! Excuse me. We went to dinner with them, and Rebecca and I love documentaries. So does Sean and his wife. In fact, Sean and his wife have seen every documentary known to man. But it's like Rebecca and I's favorite type of movie, one of our favorite types of movies, because we love reality so much.
Come to find out Clint and his wife are just as into documentaries. They love it. And so we're rattling off all these documentaries and they haven't seen them. So now the toughest part is narrowing it down to one because they're coming over and we're going to watch one. Narrowing it down to one. Now, Eddie, I'll give you the because I know you've seen these. These are what it's coming down to. American movie. Great. Mark Borschach. It's a movie about a guy who is making a movie. The only problem is, is that he's not the most talented. He's big on passion, kind of small on talent. Yeah. All the passion in the world. Not given the most amazing amount of talent in the particular area of filmmaking. And he's got this tiny little handheld camera. It's ridiculous.
And he's written his own horror movie called Coven. Halfway through the movie, he realizes the word is actually pronounced Coven. And it has to be seen to be believed. Truly, it does. So that's one. The other one that we're thinking about is Trekkies. That's good, too. Classic. It is just phenomenal. Phenomenal. It's a documentary film about Trekkies and Trekkers and this whole lifestyle thing that goes on in the life of people that are into Star Trek. Dude, the dentist? The kid, when the kid gets his outfit from the seamstress. The seamstress delivers his Star Trek outfit. That kid is something else.
Yes, he is. And so that, it's like, just with those two right there. What about who killed the electric car? That is not one that we were, we were not necessarily looking at who killed the electric car. Well, I recommend it. Sky likes it. For a future night. What about, what about pandas and beavers and lions? Oh my, the true tale of a furry. That is a good one. I've heard that one is compelling. That is a good one. Sean, have you seen that one? I thought he starred in it. That's a home video. That's a home video. My bad. I thought we were having a serious conversation. So, one of my personal favorites ever in the history of documentaries is called Paradise Lost. Oh, man. The story of the Robin Hood Hills murders and the West Memphis Three. Sky saw that one. In fact, you watched them both, right? Yeah, yeah.
There's a sequel to it called Paradise Lost 2. Paradise Lost 2, like Tribulations or something like that. And this is actually Eddie Vedder's really into their cause. It's the story of these three kids that were convicted of murder in West Memphis, Arkansas. And they were convicted of murder based on the fact that they listened to Metallica music. No way. That is a true story. They wore black clothing. They wore black clothing. Oh, wow. Guilty. Seriously. I mean, I know that sounds crazy, but you watch the movie, you go, yeah, it is kind of how. Yeah. That's crazy. It's like one of those things you watch and you go, this took place in America? Yeah. Yeah. Wow. And they don't say it in the movie, but they sort of point to somebody that seems a little suspicious. Oh, yeah. He seems a little suspicious. As a president, he gives the filmmakers a knife. And the filmmakers open the knife up and they notice that there's a little bit of blood in the... You know the part where you put your fingernail in a buck knife? You put your fingernail in a part and you pull on it. Well, one of the filmmakers notices that in that little crevice where you put your fingernail and you pull, he noticed a little bit of blood. And so he handed it over to the police, the filmmaker. And I won't tell you any more than that because you'll have to see the movie.
You got to see the movie. Shut up. What's it called again? It's called Paradise Lost. Yes. It's called Walking in Memphis. The Mark Cohn story. No, it's called Paradise Lost, the Robin Hood Hill story. And it's made by the same filmmakers that made Metallica's movie Some Kind of Monster. The documentary on Metallica. Same filmmakers made this one. And the other one, which is one of my favorites. is called Hearts of Darkness. And it's maybe one of the greatest documentaries ever made. What's that one? I haven't heard of that one. That one is The Making of Apocalypse Now. Oh, that's that one. Of course it is. But it's crazy. It is crazy. It's crazy. You forgot Overnight. What is that? The Making of Boondock Saints. I see. Overnight. Very good one. The Making of Boondock Saints. Eddie just gave him a look like he wanted to pull his ears off. M. Night Shyamalan, buddy. Yeah, the best. Yeah, right. We're getting text messages in about the secret crush today. Mikey scored 20 points for the nerds. Nice. That one is from P1 Nerd. Of course. Greetings there. I would like you to copulate with a girl too. This one says that was very cute. The way Casey was so shocked that anyone like that would like her.
I can tell, though, that she's one of those girls that is really beautiful. Don't you want to see her now? How bad do you guys want to know what Casey looks like? So bad. Seriously bad. Mikey, I'm an old, crusty granny in the... I don't know what this says. Spit it out. Well said. Oh, I'm an old, crusty gunny. Yeah? In the A-N-D. I got to tell you, you almost got me on that one. Almost. P1 DeGunny. I don't know, guys. I don't know. What's up, Andy? Anyway, that's our text messages. 35253 is the text message number if you would like to text us at any time. Some headlines that I have not given out. Bush did a speech this morning marking the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. The Celtics.
Ended the Rockets' 22-game winning streak. Second longest streak in NBA history. That's crazy! That's one time you talked about something in Boston. That's what I'm talking about. I got a lot of downtime until the Red Sox start. I'm sorry. Wow. Then because it's the fifth anniversary of the Iraq war, there's a war protest planned in D.C. When, Sky, today? Yeah, this morning. And I just checked on CNN and the arrests have already started. They're trying to lock the access to the... Meanest murder! Would you eat your dog? Would you eat your cat? Yeah, they're trying to block access to the IRS building because the taxpayer money is going to help fund the war. Yeah, block it. I understand that the Rancho Bernardo High School kids have walked out because of that, right? They try to walk there by noon. They believe in it. They really are behind that cause. What war is it again?
Civil War? I think it's Nam. Nam 2? So, Barack Obama. Barack Obama gave a speech yesterday and he was talking about race and that's not it. He also talked about his pastor. Because everybody's been calling this into question, right? Oh, yeah. So he talked about his pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. And so here he is addressing the situation, cut 24. Reverend Wright's comments were not only wrong, but divisive. Divisive at a time when we need unity. If he says divisive, I say divisive. Racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems. Two wars. A terrorist threat. A falling economy. A chronic health care crisis and potentially devastating climate change. Problems that are neither black or white or Latino or Asian, but rather problems that confront us all. There you go. So here's a little bit more about him addressing the Reverend Wright. Cut 26. As imperfect as he may be, he has been like family to me. That's like Dr. Seuss.
He strengthened my faith, officiated my wedding, and baptized my children. Not once in my conversations with him have I heard him talk about any ethnic group in derogatory terms, or treat whites with whom he interacted with anything but courtesy and respect. He contains within him the contradictions, the good and the bad, of the community that he has served diligently for so many years. I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can disown my white grandmother. A woman who helped raise me. A woman who sacrificed again and again for me. A woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world. But a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed her by on the street. And who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes.
That made me cringe. Eddie, are you there? Whoa, Barbara? How did you get through? I am so sick and tired of this. And I want to say that... Barbara? Equal time, Barbara. Come on, lady. I just am waiting for you guys to wake up and smell... The what? What are we smelling? What are we smelling? smell Hillary Clinton. I don't want to smell that. What does she smell like? Smells like Musk. I don't. It's not for me. Thank you. I've never smelled her. All I'm trying to say to you guys is that you need to give Hillary a little bit more of a chance. Well, I don't. Why are we? What are we? How are we not giving her a chance? What do you mean? First of all, I never hear you guys talking about the wonderful things that she's done since she was in office with President Clinton. Well, you know, I mean. Like what? Do you remember baby Jessica, the girl that fell in the well? Yeah. Hillary Clinton just fed that little girl back to life. First of all, that is not true. That is not true. No. That's not true. First of all, Barbara, that happened prior to her going into office. You're ridiculous. That is a falsity.
Wow. No, we will not recognize that as a lie. You notice that the media refuses to talk about how good Hillary was on Melrose Place. What? Melrose Place? She wasn't on Melrose Place. I watched every episode. She was not on there. She was not on there. Barbara, you can't just make things up about Hillary to make her look better. She taught Michael Jackson how to moonwalk. No, she didn't. She found my missing Lhasa Apse four years ago. That's enough. She did. She did, Scottie. Wow. Why aren't we giving her credit then? Yeah, that's weird. Yes, she did. Shame on us. Obama should be thanking Hillary. For what? For what? Because without her prodding, Rosa Parks would have never stayed in the back of that. Oh, will you get out of here with that? That's garbage. That's garbage. That is not the truth, Barbara. Not only did Hillary give birth to Stephen Hawking. No, he did not. She has a daughter named Chelsea. But she helped to formulate a number of theorems about black holes, and that... No, she... That's stupid. That is why they call her the mother of quantum mechanics. Nobody calls her that. Yes, they do. I've never heard that. I've never heard that. Wow. I really don't get it, lady. Did you know that she does Mitt Romney's hair? Oh, really? Well, then. Every single hair is perfect. It is. She does a great job, then. Look at that.
Good times. She helped Helen Keller speak her first words. You're a joker. You're a joker, Barbara. Yeah, you are. She delivers mail on Columbus Day. How about that? No, she does not. Stop it. Did you know she invented Denny's? Hillary Clinton invented Denny's. Really? And the boots over my hammy? She invented it. Yeah. That goes back to the baby Jessica story. I'm not buying it. Whoa, gross. She invented ranch dressing. No. This guy, I don't believe her. Dude, if she did, that's awesome. Every great thing that we came to know in the 90s, she invented. What? Orientals, she invented them. In the 90s. You cannot know, Barbara. You personally hunted down JFK's assassin, and she killed him. No. That's not true at all. I know. For what? Racial equality? Is that why? Really? Oh.
Really? She was the lead writer for Seinfeld. No, she wasn't. Yes, she was. No, she wasn't. Yes, she was, Eddie. I know for a fact she wasn't. Well, then if you're saying you know for a fact she wasn't, I'm telling you to check your facts. Go on Google right now. I will. I have to get going, but I just want to let you know one thing about Hillary before I go. What? It's a part-time Starbucks barista because she believes in the working people. She does not believe in this institution of higher class. Barbara. She's the CEO of Disney. Yes, she is. She loves children's programming. And she was the one who... I'm sorry, I get choked up. Are you okay? It's just that when I talk about her good work sometimes... All this stuff is false, so I don't know why you're getting choked up. I get choked up because it's really hard to talk about how you guys never recognize anything. Well, yeah, true. Barbara.
We try and report on the facts. I want to tell you two things. All right, and then that's it. She co-wrote Pat with Dr. Stewart. No, she did it. No, she did it. She did that. It takes a village thing. She made the first Legos out of driftwood. Driftwood? What? How do you even... This is the one that gets my heart. What is it? One who abbreviated New Kids on the Block to N-K-O-T. Oh, well then I win. Thank you. Most ridiculous thing I think I've ever heard in my entire life. Oh my gosh. Holy moly. There is a nutball. But did you hear the ending? I don't think she was the first one to do that. You don't know that anymore. I don't know that. I think I'm in. Right there. Your text messages to 35253.

Wedding. Something small and inexpensive. I agree. Big weddings are just too pricey. Dad, go find out if the maitre d' can marry us. Oh, sure he can, Steve-o. Meet my divorce attorney. He was the really, really big Latino who was really funny and then eventually got kicked off for, like, text messages. texting his girlfriend on the show. I almost thought he was going to win it had he not been kicked off. He's going to be performing at Viejas. So there's a bunch of great stuff going on. You've got to make sure you check it out. Don't forget, this Friday, March 21st at 10 a.m. at Concerts in the Park box office or through Ticketmaster locations, you can score those tickets for Viejas Concerts in the Park. The ninth season is here. And now some way better taste combinations brought to you by Wendy's. The other day, I'm trying the new spicy Baconator at Wendy's when I overhear someone say, American is baseball and apple pie. I think they should say, American is bacon and heat. Because where else would six strips of bacon pair up with four layers of spice all on two hot and juicy hamburger patties? Introducing Wendy's new spicy Baconator. Six strips of bacon, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle ranch sauce for a limited time only at participating Wendy's. It's way better than fast food. It's Wendy's. And now, some way better things to be scared of.
Brought to you by Wendy's. A lot of people I know say they're scared of the dark. But it's not really the dark they're scared of. It's what they've been eating. Old hamburgers that were made around lunchtime? That's zombies rising from the crypt scary. But at Wendy's, it's not scary. Because everything's made fresh to order no matter how late it is. Eat way better, way later. Late night favorites from Wendy's like Baconators and Frosties are always available every night until midnight or later. And participating Wendy's. It's way better than fast food. It's Wendy's. featuring what's rock jukebox. All right, Chris, are you ready to play? Yes, I am. All right, when the clip stops, you start. Here we go. One more night with Sean. He's a polar bear. He's not a polar bear. Sean's doing the quick blink. Eddie, what did you think? Well, you know, I thought the tone was there. I appreciate the fact that you tried to make fun of Sean and for his gay lifestyle. I'm not gay, bro. But you made one fatal flaw and didn't realize that Sean is not a polar bear. He is a gay panda. Pretty fast. Well, I forget a couple, but I only forget a couple, so I just fill in where I don't.
Back, it's 9.02. There's a bench warrant out for actor Shia LaBeouf after he failed to appear in court yesterday. A central Florida wide receiver died during conditioning drills. This just in, too, Sky asked Eddie to pull that picture of Dean back up on his laptop. Not that I had to mention that on me. It's getting uncomfortable. It's getting uncomfortable. It was an off-the-air moment. One of those off-air moments doesn't necessarily need to be on. But we are. I told you. Well, no, we just confirmed that by you pulling the picture up. I'm just saying. Mikey, I honestly think that the bit with Barbara was the funniest thing I've ever heard. Thanks for starting my day off right. Signed, P1 Chariot. Tell Barbara that, bro. What do you mean, bit? What you're saying. Mikey, I was not going to vote for Hillary, but thanks to Barbara, I will for sure now. Oh, no. Hey, listen, if she's campaigning like that, we gotta have equal time, you know what I mean? Yeah, we need a Barack supporter. That's right.
Mikey, I've been listening for about two weeks now, and I just wanted to say that I'm hooked now, and you've got yourself a permanent listener from now on. That's signed P1 Zector. Today's the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. Five years. It's so strange how long wars go on, you know? Which is different from the Iraq War of Rochester in 91. Yeah, it's the Camaros versus the Iraqs. Yeah, that was a brutal one. Went on forever. Lots of mullets. Yeah. Finally, somebody took a jean jacket away, and that was the end of it. Oh, man. Hardcore. What you do is you take that flag. It's just a pole with a jean jacket stuck on it, and you slam it into the turf of the opponent, you know? But eventually, yeah, the Camaros won, Eddie. Well, yeah. Best-looking tinted windows. Nice T-tops. Yep. I wonder if Boston Rob even understood any of that. Yeah, I did. Maybe too young.
He's from the East Coast. He's from the East Coast. They're still cool there. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with an IROC, Mike. I'd love to get an IROC. Are you kidding? You know, and I still look pretty good in 501s. If I could find a jean jacket that fits me nice, I'd rock it. I would love to see that. He would. For real? I would love to see him in a mullet and a jean jacket. No mullet, but I'd rock the jean jacket, no problem. Yeah. And a necklace with a shark tooth on it. Ooh, now you're talking. You know what I'm saying? Nice medallion. That's right. P1 Jared is on the line. Hey, Mikey. What's going on, dude? I got a question for you. When you guys opened up... Oh, that was... The song is called Woodstock, and it's Crosby, Stills, Nash, and I don't know if it's Young in there, too. You should probably sing it for him. I've got to be on the freeway, and you showed me your wig. I was bareback, was working marker, and I got to chew your earlobes until they fall. You did hit that note. It's always confusing if it's Crosby, Stills, Nash, or Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. Mail that we got, I want to get P1's...
You can text us your opinion, call us with your opinion, email us your opinion. Our text number, 35253. It says, Mikey, how do I tell someone at work, how do I tell someone that I work with that her breath is hideous? Okay. Oh, wow. Probably the choice of words. I like it. It says, I can't stand it. She can melt the paint off an aircraft carrier. Please. I try to avoid talking to her because her breath is like garbage. I think we get it, okay? She has bad breath. Sky, he's just trying to tell you. Are you not clear, Eddie? I'm not real sure, so is it good or bad? It's garbage. He says, how can she not know? I have to say something, but I don't know how. Any thoughts? P1 Rick.
Wow. That's tricky. Yeah, it is tricky. And to you guys, is it worse the fact that it's a dude telling a chick? If it was two people of the same gender, I feel like it would be not as harsh. Then that's what he does. I didn't have an answer. You just gave it to me. I like it. So you tell another female co-worker. Yeah, chicks can tell chicks anything. I wouldn't. Well, what do you say? If Eddie came to me and was like, tell so-and-so. No, no, no. Skye, you got it. You've got to pick somebody that, like, I think that you could because you and... It's got to drink too much coffee, isn't it? And smoke. Ash, you don't have bad breath. It's a deal where... Burn the sweaty, now the breath. Yeah, there is some sweaty pits going on. That's a big problem. You think I fart? Gosh. Well, you do. Your boyfriend says that you fart every time. You blame it on the dog. It's my freaking puggle. It's a freaking dress and leggings, dude. Bad breath. That's what it is. It's a freaking dress and leggings. But Skye... I think. Oh, no. You have a relationship with Ashley. If that were the case, you could go to Ashley and you could say something in a cool way. It'd be a lot better coming from you than it would from... Okay, like... Well, that's true. She would never... Like, I wouldn't want to. Like, I agree that it would be probably better coming from me than anybody else on the show, but...
I don't want to be put in your scenario. You know, it doesn't bother me. You do your problem. What do you mean? You can't go up and go, dude, your breath is humming. I think that what you do is, I think what you do is you, you offer them a mint or something and you do it enough times that they get the hint. Hey, were you chewing on a cadaver? No, I don't want to be involved. But that's like a disorder out there for bad breath. And if you have that disorder, then the mint's not going to salt. What is that? What disorder? It's like halitosis. Is it halitosis? Did she just give birth? It's halibaritosis. Yeah. Halitosis, osmosis, it's something. Listen, maybe you just, you make, you do like Eddie said. You ask if somebody...
Did you rinse your mouth out with the toilet bowl? No, that's not nice. I think that would hurt someone's feelings. But you'll take care of it. Is there any more turd sickles in the freezer? Or did Ashley eat them all? Her friend is fine. I'm using her as an example, you guys. Is it really going to be like that? P1 Justin, what would you do? What would I do? I would track up a conversation with the individual a couple days in a row. Tell them that I'm, you know, chewing gum consistently because I myself would have bad breath and I would just nonchalantly say, you ever experienced, you know, bad breath? And if they do, just say, you know, give them some gum and try to nonchalantly give them a hand. Totally nonchalantly. Yeah, but see, the inherent problem there, Justin, is that they don't know they have bad breath. How do you not know? Because you don't... You can know. I mean, I'm sad and I can smell my breath sometimes and sometimes it's kicking like a ninja, so... How do you not know?
Did he say, I can smell my butt sometimes? Is that what he said? His breath? I thought he said it. I definitely got some problems. Yeah, I was like, whoa. Hello. Whoa. Thank you for the call. We're getting the texts. Mikey, give her a gift basket with mints and gum. That's nice. It won't work, though, if it's a constant problem. Yeah. Mikey, secretly leave a giant bag of various breath mints on her desk. That's from Maggie Mae. So rude. That's just mean. Yeah. I'll hurt her feelings. Be anonymous. Set up an email account. I don't like it. So far, I love it. I hate it. So far, I love this. I hate it. Whatever it is. Please continue. Be anonymous. Set up an email account just for that. Yeah. And email her that her breath stinks like hot garbage water. I put it nicely. Like, what is that? Oh, man, that's funny. No, no more. Yes, please. Dear Mikey, why not just say, hey, your breath smells like, and I can't read that word on the ring. You can't say that. You can't say that. No. I think we know what word it is, Eddie. Mikey, just tell her, because if she doesn't know,
She will be happy to know. Signed, P1 Super Steve. Did you burn some hair in your mouth? Someone roasting goat in your molars? Ew. Oh, man. Ew. Bro. Mikey, just tell her there's a little man at the back of her throat. What? What the hell? Please continue. Mikey. I'm texting you. This text says, Mikey, just tell her that there's a little man at the back of her throat dancing around in little doo-doo shoes. And then done. You're good. Call it a day. Hi, I just wanted to tell you that there's a little man in the back of your throat dancing around in doo-doo shoes. Oh, my God. P1 Carter. Oh. Yes. You know, I've done this before. You just basically, you're chewing gum. You take a piece of stuff. Like, hey, you want some gum? When they say no, you're like, no, really? You want some gum? Oh. See, these are all, these can leave a mark. Very passive aggressive. That's right. Very passive aggressive. And these are all quick fixes because what happens the next day? You do the same thing again? Yeah, you got to do it every day. You know? Yeah, eventually they're going to catch on. Like, hey, maybe I need to, you know.
Some mouthwash or some gum when I talk to people. You know, this bad breath thing, the bad breath thing falls into the same category as B.O. They're both things that you can't really say to somebody. You know, you got B.O. You can't say that. You can't say you have bad breath. So my question is, who is the person, like, because there's got to be someone who, it's like your, it's your job to tell the person. Is it like the best friend or the mom or like who? Boy, that's a good question. Is there anyone? That it's like safe or your duty. I have a duty. Duty shoes. Courtney loved dancing around in the back of your throat with duty shoes on. Yeah, I think it's like a close, like a spouse, a very close family member. I have a duty. Danielle, are you there? Go ahead. What did you want to say? I have a suggestion. Have her lick the back of her hand and when it air dries, that's how bad your breath smells. Oh, it's because that's your saliva. So basically, Ashley's licking the back of her hand right now. Hey, Martha, do me a favor and lick the back of your hand and then smell it later. Let that dry off. Just let that breathe a little. You can do it. You can be like, hey, I read this crazy thing on the internet. Let's do it. Let's see if it works. Oh, wow. Yours smells like doo-doo.
See how the plants died? Yeah. Did you change a diaper with your mouth? Yes. Yuck. Thank you for the call. Oh, my gosh. P1 Rebecca's on the line. Go ahead, Rebecca. Are you there? That must have been my wife. She hung up. Oh, well. Frank calling you again. This one says, I think he should fight fire with fire and come to work with even worse breath. Oh, my gosh. Oh my gosh. What are we? Five years old? That's kind of funny. Please. Tell him not to brush. Eat lots of cheese and garlic. Ew. Maybe even vomit a bit and just continue smiling all day long. That's P1 Sebastian. That's funny. I still think the little man in the back of the throat thing could work. Yeah, that's the way to go on this. Let's see. Mikey Show. Hello. This is P1 Aaron. What's up? Yeah, I was just calling, you know, I had something about the bad breath. Yeah, what do you do? Why don't you just tell them, hey, you ever heard of scat? I don't understand. You know what scat is? No. Oh, yeah, that's the thing the blues guys do, right? Yeah, I think he's talking about a style of music. That's it. Isn't that it, Eddie? Yeah, that's what he's talking about. Mikey Show, hello. Is this Rock 105? Yes, it is.
Yeah, I wanted to talk to Mikey. Yeah, dude, you're on the air. Go ahead. Hey, Mikey. It's Kevin. I just wanted to say that there's a website for the sad breath and all your weird things that you find in the office. Really? Yeah, if you send them their name and their address, and they'll send them sponsored products and put an eloquent email that will... So you're saying it's done kind of nicely. Exactly. But anything from bad breath, do they just smell or they need B.O.? I don't know, though, man. I think that even if they get a package in the mail...
And it's got deodorant and stuff like that. You know, there's no nice way you can put it. It's going to be mean. Yeah, because if somebody comes up and tells you, it's like, oh, this person is helping me out. But if you get like an anonymous thing or a basket, you'll be like, everybody's been talking about me. You know, you know, they've got all that. They got this all dialed in. They've got it written down. So, you know, I would like to listen, when you get to work, when you get to work. Tell me what the website is because I'd like to see a sample of what they would put. Right. That's what I'd like to see. So let me know. Call me back. Call me back, brother. Okay. Thank you. And the thing that's tough about the BO is that sometimes that's what they want to smell like. Look at Matthew McConaughey. Oh, gross. Sting. They don't wear deodorant. Those two guys don't wear deodorant and they're not going to anytime soon. They don't like it. They think it's unnatural and they think that the... Human smell is natural and that we're one of the only countries that hides it, masks it. Do you know that women really do respond to that smell? Doesn't surprise me. Yeah, women really do respond to the pheromones that men put off when they're sweating. It's science, Holmes. It is science. P1 Christina. Hey, I have a suggestion for the bad breath. Go ahead.
I think the best way to do it is leave an anonymous note with like a pack of gum or something. So the person is making, you know, awkwardness and doesn't know who it's from. And I think that'd be the best way. There you go. Mikey, the bad breath syndrome is called too broke to own a toothbrush. That means B-Rob. Signed P1X Tina. Mikey, it has to be done, but very low key. Whisper to her that her breath is kicking. and offer her a piece of gum. Tell her that you are just looking out. I could see that being done. Hey, I'm just looking out. Yeah, I'd rather have that than the anonymous note. See, from that point on, the person would take care of it, no doubt about it. They'd take care of it forever, I think. They'd get self-conscious about it, and from that moment on, they would probably want to take care of it forever. This person has another line that they wanted to suggest, that maybe you say to the person,
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that you should probably swallow that fish. The person would say, what fish? And then he would say, the one that's farting in your mouth. Okay. Maybe that would be nice. All right. Or text number is 352.3. This is the Mikey show. I love the Mikey show. You know what? You guys are awesome. Thank you, brother. Looking for a great new car? The Raiders completely traded for D'Angelo Hall and sent him to a seven-year, $70 million contract. Sometimes people that are addicted to methamphetamine have that issue with the face stuff. Yeah, well, it was weird because, you know, when she was first seen with Amy Winehouse with this big old like sore on her cheek and half of her face all swollen, you know, her rep finally issued a statement saying, hey, she has this minor skin infection. She's taking antibiotics. It's going to be fine. But since then, within the last couple of weeks, it's spread. And she now has like sores and scabs everywhere. So needless to say, there's tons of speculation on what is actually causing that. But who knows? I do not think she's currently getting help, right? No, she was only getting help for that one week before the Grammys. That's so sad, man. The people around her, obviously, she's not going to stop until she wants to. But she's one of those cases where you look at her and you go, she could probably die. And you know what's crazy? She's my age. Get out of here. I thought she was so much older for the reason. Amy Winehouse is 24 years old. 24. No way. No!
Dude, I had no idea. Me neither. I thought Amy Winehouse, if somebody asked me how old do you think she is, I'd say 31? Exactly what I was thinking. 30? 31? At the youngest, I would say 29. At the absolute youngest. Man, that is a sad situation right there. Hard living. Very. Let's see. Michael Stipe has come out of the closet. So has Rock Hudson and Liberace. Yeah, he just did an interview with Spin Magazine where he, you know, talks about openly how he's gay and he didn't realize. Do you think that the reporter from Spin Magazine was like, no way? Are you serious? Yeah, and he goes, Michael Stipe goes on to say that he didn't realize until recently how important it is to be open about his sexuality because it can really help a lot of other.
kids who are trying to come to grips with their own sexuality. Good thing it's about 22 years too late. He was also quoted as saying, Hi! There's an Australian guy selling his life on eBay. Now, I don't mean, like, die, that kind of thing. I mean, he wants to really change his life, so he's selling everything that has to do with his old life, except for what, Sky? Except for his passport and his wallet. Everything else. His house, all his clothes, his car, his jet ski, his spa. You get it all. Yeah, his job, which he says you get on a two-week probationary period. And if they like you, then it's up to them to keep you. He works at a rug shop. Huh. Also...
Also with the package comes an opportunity to have a wonderful group of friends. I guess his friends are open to the idea of taking this person in if it all works out. I guess he just went through a divorce and he wants to completely start over with nothing. So starting in a couple months, he will auction it all off on eBay. Hello? Oh, hello, guys. Oh, no. What are you doing here? I just wanted to say that I'm gay, too. Well, we know that. You were aware of that. You announced it a while ago. I wanted to come out and let everyone know that I'm gay as well. Well, we know that. You already made this announcement. So, there it is. I'm out of the closet now. What do you think about Michael Stipe? Well, I found out today that he is a homosexual. Right, right. That's true. And I put my...
hand up to my face and said, my word. All this time I thought we were slow dancing just because we were close. Not so much. I wanted to come out of the kimono last week, but I only say that because I'm Filipino. You're not. You're not, remember? You keep saying that and you're not. That's true. That's true, I'm not. I'm North Korean. You're Japanese. That's right. Thank you. Does anyone have an Allen wrench? Depends what you want it for. My left rear is coming off. Not going to help you. You get it? Yeah, we got it. It's George Takai. He's weird.
says that apparently what they're doing at the Chula Vista courthouse is these sting operations where they're targeting unlicensed drivers. Bogus, man. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know how I feel about this one. This is weird. Yeah, now listen to this. This is Brandon Hiddle. He's from the Chula Vista Police Department, cut 67. Yeah, these two subjects came through our checkpoint, and right away I could smell what I believe to be odor of marijuana. pulled them over to the secondary, and then from there we found some guns on them, so they're going to be taken into custody right now. Rob. Sorry. Yeah, so that was like the big... What, Sean? Well, like, who rolls up to the courthouse smoking? That is true. Like, why would you do that? You can't wait, bro. What you doing at the courthouse? You're that stressed out sometimes. Man, what are you doing in the Impala? So that really was kind of like a coup for them, if you will, because they weren't expecting to find something that big. Their purpose for being out there was to bus people who were driving without licenses. Because basically what was going down yesterday at the Chula Vista Courthouse, and Rob can speak to this. He knows how this goes. What you're doing at the Chula Vista Courthouse. Right? So basically people get DUIs. And then yesterday they were required by the court to attend a discussion panel by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Yep, the mad class. So they're required to go there. But with the DUI, they lose their license. So you're required to be at the courthouse, but you don't have a license. But if you don't go to the courthouse, you get in more trouble. So they pretty much knew, hey, people are required to be here, so they're going to roll up without their driver's license, and we're going to bust them again after we've already busted them. So unless somebody took a bus or got a friend to drop them off at that seminar. What's bogus about it? It's a catch-22 and you're stuck. It's like they take your license. You can't find a ride? You can't take the bus? Not all the time. The bus system in this city sucks. I'm sorry, but it's horrible. You put yourself in that position. Yeah, we made a mistake, but the first time, the first offense, it's like... It's still bad, bro. It's near impossible. The system is broke, Eddie. The system is broke. Well, the thing that I thought was odd about it was, you know, I understand if they're trying to bust somebody, you know, they don't have a license, they're trying to, like, you know, crack down on that. The part that seems unusual to me is the whole, like, getting these guys, you know. You're required to be here after we took away your license.
But then we're going to pop you again if you drive here. Exactly. Figure it out. You shouldn't be driving. Yeah, I mean, I know you shouldn't. You don't have a license. It's called doing something illegal. But yeah, but lots of people. I mean, this is common practice, you know? Yeah, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. That, I didn't, yeah. You have to get a ride. Get a ride. Yeah, I mean, you have to. You have to. Take the old Ankle Express. The Ankle Express. This whole city is so spread out. It's not like a Boston with this. Go back to Boston. Whatever, dude. You could get a right. Not all the time. You know what it is? There's people out there like you that don't ask. Yep. I'm not even talking about me. You wouldn't ask for a ride. All right, so let's say that I called you. You're the only person. Everybody else says no. Yeah, and I would turn you down. I'm just saying you would drive all the way down. If it was either that or you go to jail, I would give you a ride. Not one person in this room would ever turn you down for help, and you know it. All right, so I'm a fortunate case. There are people out there that don't have other people. If you don't have somebody.
Wait a minute. Okay, so that means, I'm not buying it. Drinkers and drivers, you have friends. That's the whole point of drinking. You've got friends, man. If you can't get to the courthouse, I'm sure you could call and say, listen, I've tried. I cannot get a ride to this class. Is there another class I can attend? something like that all i know is is that in this day and age you're getting a ride well i know somebody who went through this kind of stuff and they took a taxi to their classes because that was the only thing they could do. And they were talking to other people in the class, and other people were like, yeah, I drove here. Yeah, my friend just drives. And that person was like, she was the only one who took a cab. Everybody else in that class drove, even though everybody has suspended licenses. That's why they're doing these things. That's not right. It's the only way to get there. That's not right. It's the only way she can get there, my friend.
Yeah, so yesterday at the Sting. No, no, no, no, no. No, it's not the only way she can get there, Ash. You just said she's your friend. She's your friend. Yeah, but you guys have to keep in mind. That's nice. I mean, I told her. I'm busy. You're not, though. You're not. I'm not busy? No, here, I'll read your email that you sent me this morning of everything you did yesterday. Here, let's see how busy you are that you couldn't be taking... Yeah, let's see. No, no, no. No, no, no, but you're busy. You're busy. This is what I mean. People can do it. Yesterday, Ashley, here's her email to me of what she did yesterday. I got nothing. Home by 1 p.m. Puppy, watch some programs, little nap, grocery store, dog park, went to my honey's, watched Idol, went to bed. Everybody can get a ride from somebody. Everybody can get a ride from somebody. Until you've been through it. Exactly. None of them have been through it. So what are you telling me? What are you telling me? That you can't call anybody and ask them to take you? Well, Mike, I get what you're saying 100%. None of them have been through it. My ex-girlfriend had two DUIs, and I would have to drive her ass all the way around. Well, I know that Mike just yelled at me. You go, I can't do it. I'm busy. I'm like, whatever. Well, you just came at me like I'm not busy, which, first of all, is ridiculous. Dude, I just read the email. You said you're not busy. It's called responsibility. Now you're saying something totally different, though. No, I'm not. That's my point. I think people can help their friends.
I don't understand this whole concept of like... And I get that, but when you have a DUI, these classes are like, I don't know, what are they, Rob? They're like once a week, you have a class. So you're having to rely on somebody else. And I get what you guys are saying. Friends should be there. Friends should have your back. But dude, like this is the way it rolls out. In reality, these people are driving without their license. I got a question then. Like seriously, I got a question. If that's the way it is, like I guess what the philosophy of... That philosophy is like, wait a minute, I got popped doing a DUI and I shouldn't have to like do this because I should be able to drive. Like that's the, they're requiring me to be somewhere, but they're not giving me access to transportation. Wait a second. That's like saying this. That's like saying this. Okay. That's like saying you robbed a bank. You got in trouble for robbing the bank. You got to go to jail. Okay. And you're complaining that, like, they didn't give you a ride to jail. Like, I don't have a car. How am I supposed to get to jail? I robbed the bank, but how am I supposed to get to jail? Like, I did something wrong, but help me out here, man. I mean, you're going to put me in the jail. You better take me there. No, it's like they put you in the jail and they go, you know what? You got an appointment across town.
No. And you're like, so I have to break out of jail? No, no. If you're in jail, you're locked up. You can't get out. They'll give you a key and say, you can find your way to that place. You're free to go. Everybody's got a friend. That's so not true, Mike. Ash, come on. Okay, if you don't have a friend, you don't have one friend, you don't have one friend. Okay, fine. There's the bus, there's taxes, there's ways of getting there. There's ways. And don't complain. And my whole point is don't complain when they have stings at the courthouse and pop you for driving because you're doing something illegal. Illegal. Sorry. And I'll even agree with that. That, Eddie. Yeah, so 27 cars were impounded yesterday at the courthouse and 37 citations. Bogus. It is. That's bogus. It is. It's illegal. You did something illegal. What's bogus about it? Honestly, when I first heard it... I mean, at least catch them on the road. At least pull them over for something. Do that. When they come into the courthouse doing what they're supposed to get done, I'm saying there needs to be some kind of fix, like giving people Cinderella licenses or something, some kind of... What is that? What is that? It's like when you...
I know people that... You have to drive with a glass slipper. You have to drive with a glass slipper. In a pump. No, like during the day. You have to drive 30 times. You have to drive in a dress. Yeah. Right, with a mouse. Hey, listen. All I know is, is that if you can't, I just, I don't know. I'm finding this thing hard to buy that you can't get there. Can't do the time, don't do the crime, Mike. No, I mean, you guys are 100% right. It's just to kind of... Right. And friends are not always available. Come on. You got fans. See, that's what's a tough thing to hear. That's a tough thing to hear. You guys can do it. Go ahead, Sean. I just want to say, it does suck. It absolutely sucks. That's why they take it away. Because it sucks. It's called punishment. It's hard. It's punishment. You cannot meet out punishment.
And then go back on it. You know what trips me out, though? This is one of the only cultures I can think of that goes, you know, you better help me out when you punish me. I know I committed a crime, but I don't like the way you're punishing me. Yeah, don't talk about that. It's bogus. Yeah, no, no, no. It's not me. It's not me. That punishment is bogus you gave me. I'm going to do something else. I'm not saying that. And then I'm going to complain about it. Yeah, then you better help me out. What did he say that's wrong, Rob? I just think that the system's a little jacked up when it comes to DUIs out here. Yeah, because it affected you. Wait a minute. It affected me, but I come from a state of Massachusetts. How do they do it different? What? They're a lot nicer than a DUI. They catch you on the bank and say, good job. Mike, out there, you get a snow cone when you get... If you get a DUI, they hand you a snow cone. Part of our heritage is drinking back in Madison. Yeah, that's right. I'm just saying. So when you get to the court, they give you a peanut butter sandwich. It's called a DUI sandwich. Yeah, and a gold ribbon. Yeah. Good job, well done. Yeah.
So some of these people are getting arrested and going to jail for driving. And they take you for shots. Yeah. This one's on us. And then you drive the Kappa home. Yeah. I saw the chick on the news last night who teaches the Mothers Against Drunk Driving class. And she was talking about how they actually had to have security in the class because so many people were so angry. Because they showed up, they get their car impounded. Don't commit crimes in people. And then they have to go sit through this class. Wait, see, because I just thought of this. It's a mindset. It's a mindset. Like, it was because of the way that my dad was. Because I drove many times after I'd been drinking. It was the grace of God that I didn't get a DUI. I should have. And so it was the grace of God that I didn't get a DUI. Now, if I'd gotten a DUI and they took away my license, I couldn't drive. Now, let's say that I decided, Mike goes, you know what, man, it's the only way I have to get around, so I'm driving. What am I going to do, man? Hey, listen, I got to pay the bills and I know I'm not supposed to, but I'm going to drive. And I get called to court for something else, right? And I go,
And they bust me because I don't have a license. Now, I can tell you, knowing my personality, when I was out there driving without my license, I would have been terrified. That's who I am. I'd have been scared. I'd have been scared that I was going to get pulled over and get in trouble. So my personality is that when I get to the courthouse and it's for something unrelated, but they pop me for it, my personality is to go, oh, man. Like, I'm screwed. And just kind of like, I take my lumps. That's my personality. You know what you're doing was wrong. Sure. But there's another personality that goes, no, it's everyone else's fault. It's your fault. It's your fault. It's the state of California. It's the state. It's you. It's you. It ain't me. I see you. Where's my snow cone? I know driving's a privilege, but I don't care. I want my DUI sandwich. Can I ask a question? Please. Rob, so if you think it's bogus, what is your solution? Like, do you have one for the people in California who have DUIs and have a restricted license and have to go to these classes and don't have a friend? Most of the time, they don't have a restricted license. To take them? Most of the time, on the first pop, I didn't know this, but right away, they're taking your license. They couldn't take mine because I had a mass license at the time. But right away, they're taking your license from me, and I just think that's messed up. So what's your solution? Well, I'm not a big lawmaker over here. Why is that messed up? Why is that messed up?
You committed a crime. Yeah. On your first offense? It's still a crime, bro. Murder, you can kill somebody. It's your first time killing somebody. You don't get to do it. But wait a minute. You're not taking one thing into account. What's that? I'm rock hard. Look at this thing. You guys. Some of our text messages that we're getting. Mikey. Mikey, this is so typical of people. Nobody has accountability for anything signed OJ Simpson. Oh, OJ. He says, I used to work with a guy who had like three DUIs and he took the bus to and from work and he walked to his mandatory AA meetings every day at lunch. He made it happen. Gotta do it. Mikey, no one told them to drink and drive. Too bad. You need to walk or ride the bus. Wow. But no, there's this like...
There's this feeling of, when you owe it to me, what is that called? Entitlement. Entitlement. There's this overall feeling of entitlement. Because it inconveniences them. Yeah. Sorry. But see, I don't even hear that from Rob. I hear him being like, I didn't know. Why don't I get just like a warning? Like, that's what I'm hearing from Rob. No. Hold on, hold on. Because there's a difference. I'm not saying that. I should be able to drive around all the time. I'm just saying, there were situations that I got in when I had to make this court appearance or I had to get this class in, and there was no one there. You know what I mean? There were people there. There were lots of people there. Do you know how much I went through for nine months? I never heard you ask me. I never got one call. I got calls for you guys to come into work, which I always made that happen. Dude, I never got one phone call from you saying, hey, dude, can you help me out? Hey, Rob, whenever you ask me to pick you up, who picked you up? You did. Right. Then what are you crying about? All right. Not only that. Not only that. Oh, wow. But you know what? I'm just wrong then. Thank you. I appreciate it. And I was kidding. I'm not wrong. I appreciate it. I'm coming in, man. Get in. Get in. Get in. Get in. What's a P1? P1 is someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to the Mikey Show exclusively. That is correct. I'm of the P1 Army.

Well, because you already knew that the votes were there. It's on your voicemail, Sean. Didn't you listen to it? Just watch the tape back. Doing our own version off the air. If I were you guys, hey, you know he's going to be on the jury. Well, that's all right. He's going to remember that. It's a game. It's a game, guys. It's all a game. I don't think he's going to be good. It's not personal. But Ashley, do you hear Mike voted? I don't even know what you're talking about. Are Rob and I in this? No. I don't get it. Well, I mean, technically you are, but I mean, really. We don't really include you. There's a new CBS reality show called Secret Talents of the Stars. Ooh. Are you excited for that, Eddie? And they've just announced their celebrity participants. Is my boy Lorenzo Lamas in this? Gary Busey. Come on. Let's see. Herve Villachez. Yes, Herve Villachez. Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. And Todd Bridges. Ooh. Nice.
Deborah Gibson. Yeah, you guys are on the right track. And Charo. We have people like Marla Maples, Maya, Danny Bonaduce, Ben Stein, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Sheila E., and George Takai as well. Wait a second. I don't even want to know what your secret talent is. I have a secret talent. I don't want to know. I don't want to know. I can tie cherry stems in a knot. With what? Inside my mouth. That's gross. I can also roll my tongue in the shape of a fisty roll. Oh, wow. Shape of a what? I can roll my tongue in the shape of Kip Winger. That is a cool talent. That's right. I can't wait to watch. Well, I think you're going to like it a lot. We do one night, we do a milkshake drinking contest. I won. Well, we already taped it. It's taped ahead of time. Isn't there a contract that says you can't reveal things like that? It's okay to reveal certain aspects of it. They had to cut that out. Oh, I see. I ended up throwing up. Well, that's gross.
I don't have a gag reflex. I can also sit Indian style for 24 hours. You're making me uncomfortable. I can also sit South Korean style for 24 hours. I've never heard of that. You're Japanese. And I drink your milkshake. That's fine. My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. That's true too. Kim Jong-il wrote me a letter last week. He did? He was inviting me to his cottage. Kim Jong-il? Yes. He wanted me to come up for the weekend. Turns out he's gay. I wouldn't say that. I would not say that. So I spent the weekend in the Hamptons in high heels. With Kim Jong-il. Would you like to see me do the jitterbug? No. Actually, I would, yeah. That sounds like fun. You do the jitterbug. You do the jitterbug. You're just singing a wham song. You took a wham, wham into my house. That's so weird. And then the phone fly high when loving starts. The jitterbug into my brain. That's not the jitterbug. You're just singing wham.
Something coming, something ain't right. My best friend told me what you did last night. I got you laying in my bed. Now you're just talking nonsense. But I should have been with you instead. Wake me up before you go there. Did you guys know that Hillary Clinton was the first person to call the new kids on the block and call KOT? We heard about that earlier from Barbara. I was just wondering. All right, guys. Well, thanks for letting me stop by. Hey, well, please don't come back. If you need me for anything, I'll be in aisle nine picking up some top ramen and hot chili. That's George Takai. Makes me uncomfortable.
He really does. Miley Cyrus has officially changed her name to Miley Cyrus. She was born Anton Chigurh. Wasn't she born Anton Chigurh? Yeah, she was. No, she was actually born Destiny Hope, and we talked about this a while ago when she filed the paperwork, but it was made official. She's all legit. Her new legal name is Miley Ray Cyrus. She's too legit. Too legit to quit. You left. You left. You guys want to watch me make Crescent Rose? Uh-uh. Thank you, George. No, I do not. That's enough. That's enough. I do not want to see that. Kirstie Alley signed a deal with Oprah. For what? To do, like, stuff with... Eat her leftovers? There are not. With Oprah's company, Harpo Productions, for, quote, future development projects, also including a daytime talk show. Oh, so nothing having to do with losing weight? Nope. Well, then what? Halle Berry revealed the name of her daughter. Ooh, finally. Would you guys like to know what it is? Yes. Dingle. Her child's name is... Ariella. That's true. Nala. N-A-H-L-A.
Why would you name your child Areola? No, no, no. It's... It's weird. Areola. Areola. A-R-I-E-L-A. Eddie? You wouldn't want a pig's in the blanket? Stop it. Stop it. You're creeping me out. Frankenbagel? What? Y'all are no fun. Mikey Show. What's up? I understood every word. Well, I speak North Korean. Thank you. Thank you. One of those days, huh? You hear like pickles? Sweet little jerkins. I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Seth, escort him out. I'm not touching him. Yeah, Seth, escort me out. Piggyback rides for free. That's right. I'm leaving if it's piggyback rides. Okay, never mind. Sky. Front style. Piggy fronts. Anyone want a partially chewed Jolly Rancher? Daddy's raising his hand. You get... What flavor? What flavor? Let's see. It's green. Oh, watermelon? Oh, green apple. Green apple. Sure. Pass it over. There you go. Thank you. How is it? That's not really a Jolly Rancher. You jokester. Holmes is going to do a children's clothing line for Armani. Yeah, it'll debut with a spring 2009 collection inspired by Surrey Cruise. And then it'll be followed up in 2010 with a line of women's clothing and purses. Oh, cool. I heard George Takai was going to model both of those. Is that true? No, but I'm doing a line of clothing called My Name's Bonnie. It's like Armani. But it's called My Name's Bonnie. So this should be a...
Fun clip to listen to. Chris Matthews. You guys know who Chris Matthews is? Yeah, from Hardball. From Hardball. So Obama gave his speech yesterday and apparently Chris Matthews was flipping out over how great it was. Like to the point where it's made a clip. It's like a news, it's a clip how much he freaked out. Crazy. Cut 30. A divide is American as the Grand Canyon. A speech worthy of Abraham Lincoln. Let's play Hardball. Did Barack Obama distance himself enough from Reverend Wright? Did he calm the fears of the white voter? How did this speech play? Well, much more on this momentous day and what I personally view as the best speech ever given on race in this country. One that went beyond the I have a dream to I have lived the dream but have also lived in this country. This is the kind of speech I think first graders should see. people in the last year college to see before they go out in the world this should be to me an american track something that you just check in with now and then like reading great gatsby and huckleberry finn read this speech once in a while ladies and gentlemen this is us it's us with the scab ripped off it's white people talking the way they do when they're alone with other white people some people it's black people talking the way they are when there's no white people around it's an honest statement from a guy who comes from both backgrounds we have never heard anything like this will it cost them the nomination
We'll talk about the politics of all this and whether voters will be convinced by what many of us think is one of the great speeches in American history. And we watch a lot of them. Holy cow. What an idiot. What was that? I've never heard such a thing. Solid, unbiased reporting. Totally. My goodness. Did he say it was better than the I Have a Dream speech? Yes. Yeah, it was better. Oh, no. It was one of the best. He said it was one of the best, the greatest speeches in American history. That's quite a statement. That is really a heavy statement. You guys want to hear a Michael Jackson impersonator on Bulgarian Idol? This is true. Oh, wait. This isn't a joke. What are you talking about? In Bulgaria, there's Bulgarian Idol. Like American Idol? Yep. Yeah, and this dude is singing Michael Jackson? Mm-hmm. Okay. Sure. Cut 68. That's how good it's mine. Woo!
I'm gon' tell you right. Just show you feel like that I'm feeling you. When I heard a fuck, that's gonna hurt your mind. Don't shoot the kill. Show more. Show more. And come to pray. Just show you feel like you. Just watch your mind. I know your game. But this is not the limit. The message to the picture has nothing. Okay. Whoa, Michael Jackson! What'd you think of that, Mike? What do you mean? It wasn't a Bulgarian idol that you were listening to. It wasn't? No. Tito got me drunk for the first time last night and videotaped it. Oh, no. That was you? Oh, no. Wow, that's gonna be embarrassing, Michael.
I had never drank before, and Tito came over, and he forced me to. What were you drinking? We were drinking scotch, a pint of Old Harbor, and a couple of other... Cocaine. No. You're ridiculous. All kinds of things, and so I didn't know. Well, that's embarrassing. And then we videotaped it, and he put it on YouTube. Oh, no. And that's what you guys were watching. Not a bold... That was pretty bad. I'm a Bulgarian. That was pretty bad, Michael. You're bad. Oh, wait. Shaman. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Shaman, Eddie. What? You're bad. You are. Don't you tell me one time you got to get right and you know you got to get and it's bad. Are you drunk right now? Are you drunk right now? I'm pressing my index finger against your lips. No, you're not. No, you're not. No, you are not. I'll bite it right off. Get out of here, you. Oh, I got to go to the police. You're here. Again? Again? He had to hang up suddenly. The strangest thing I've ever seen. So, what else you guys been doing? Top that. Here's San Diegans reacting to Obama's speech. Cut 66. I do think that by, again, reaching out and acknowledging some of the credibility and legitimacy of issues and concerns on both sides, he does make it a more palatable dynamic for people to engage in that discussion. Well said. You guys know who Monica... Okay. Monica Sellis. Come on.
Yes, Shimon. This isn't the dumb chick challenge. It's not, but you know who Monica Sellis is? Okay, I'll give you a hint. I do. Tennis player. But what is she famous for? Oh, is she the one that's on American Idol right now? Yeah, she's on American Idol. I mean, I'm dancing with the stars. She was seeing last night. I'm dancing with the stars. She's on Dancing with the Stars. What is she famous for besides being a great tennis player? My hubby told me this story last night. You got it. She was stabbed while on the tennis court. That is correct. In 1993 in Germany. Brutal. She was stabbed in the back. Here she is talking about it to Access Hollywood. Cut 45. Gunter Parsha stabbed the teenage tennis phenom in the back with a 9-inch boning knife. And suddenly you're sitting like I'm sitting in this chair and someone just stabs you. That wound sent the 8-time Grand Slam champion at the time to the sidelines. Is it still raw to you? Not anymore. I mean, it's been 15 years. It definitely put a stop to my career. I didn't play for a few years. And it took a lot of hard work to... come back from it both physically and emotionally. That was Celine Dion, right? She's Swiss. Yeah, I think it was so hard to come back from. She's Swiss. I miss you, Caesar's Palace. That's horrible. It was awful. It was in the height of her career, too, and it was from one of her biggest rivals' fans. Oh, man. Is that what the deal was? Yes, and it was during a match that you got stabbed in the back, I remember. I thought it was like an obsessed fan of hers or something like that.
It was an obsessed fan. Did I see Rivals? Yeah. It was an obsessed fan. Of hers? Right. Oh. I thought, like, of the person she was playing tennis against. She was all copping an attitude anyway, Mike. That's right. So, Sean, you're saying she was asking for it. She definitely was. She was begging for it. Wait a second. Hang on a minute. She's demanding it. Does Coldplay have a new album out? Oh, I think they have one coming out. They do? I think so. Cut 63. I love Coldplay. Yeah, you love their sound. I love it. It's all the same.
All their music sounds exactly the same. Let's take a listen. That's not true. He's got a point. It's cruel. I'm sorry. Yeah, I think in that clip they were talking about their old album, X and Y. Yeah, this is a good one. Yeah, it sounds like that one song they got. And this one's called Yellow. All right, so there's one. Here's their other one, Speed of Sound. Yeah. And this sounds different to me. Not to me. Especially when he sings. There's one. But this one, Eddie, I need a tissue on this one. on them. The knock was that they sounded, when they came out, I thought they sounded like U2. I like them. U2's good. U2's awesome. They're great. U2's really good. I think we're done, you guys. I mean, we've been through everything here. I think we've been through everything. See ya. Oh, Gary Busey finally apologized for kissing Jennifer Garner on the neck on the red carpet a few weeks ago. The Oscars.
Yeah, he issued a statement through his rep saying, quote, I meant no disrespect to Miss Jennifer Gardner when I met her at the Oscars and apologized if I made her uncomfortable. Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. Yeah, he also said that. How about Anthony Mengella dying? Anthony Mengella? You hear about that? Who is that? He's that Academy Award director who directed American Beauty. American Beauty? Yeah. I thought that was Sam Mendes. Oh, maybe he didn't. Oh, no, he directed English Patient. I don't know. who that guy is. He's a pretty big director. He died. He was like 50-some years old and had surgery and had like a hemorrhage or something. Oh, dude. First thing you thought of when you said that is that movie Awake. Creeps everybody out about surgery. It happens more often than you think, Mike. Stop it. I feel much more comfortable now. All the time. You guys know who Charlie Rose is, right? Yeah. The guy that does those interviews, he was walking down the street in New York and stepped in a pothole, and he was carrying his MacBook Air, so he protected the MacBook Air and fell flat on his face in the cement. So he has a black eye and a bandage on his face, and he wanted to protect the MacBook Air. For sure, I get that. Sure, it's brand new. Priority. Wow. That's really funny.
You would think, man, that you would want to. If your face is going to heal, the MacBook won't. That is a good point, Eddie. That was what he was thinking, too. 570-1053 is our phone number. Call us at the beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment, so you can call in about anything you want. It's up to you. And today's already Wednesday. Can you believe it? We're off next week. We'll be doing best ofs next week, Monday through Friday. Eddie, what are you doing? What are you going to do? Going to Las Vegas, baby. Oh, look at that guy. A few days, and then my folks are going to be here in town for a little bit, and then I'm going up there at the end of the week. Nice. Cool. Awesome. Scott, are you doing anything?
Just a lot of stuff around here, a little landscaping, if you will. But I'm also going to take some personal time, maybe go get a little massage, a little haircut. Nice. I can do all that for you. There you go. I know. And I'm cheap. That's right. He runs a landscaping and massage company. Out of his van. And I'll clip your hair. That's right. Thank you. Sean, you doing anything? Sean's still got to work, right? Yeah, I'm going to work and I'm going to squat. All right. Sean is going to do some squats. No, no, not squats. I'm just going to squat. Well, good luck with that. Thanks. Dreams. That's a really weird thing to do on vacation. Really? Take photos. Okay. Hold on. That's our friend Sean. Holy cow. How about you guys? How about the kids? How about Ashley, Rob, Seth? Do you guys got anything? What are you doing? I'm handling a bunch of stuff, like trading my car in. You're what? Getting my hair down. You're trading your car in? I'm going to, yeah. Are you getting something new? My lease is up. Oh, it was leased. Yeah. I didn't know that. So I'm going to swap it out for a new sweet ride. A new model? Yeah. Nice. Do you know what you're getting? Pimp it up a little bit. No, I'm going to do that next week. Like, go in and look around. Cool. So your dad's coming into town then. Huh?
So your dad's coming into town? No, but my honey's going to help me. My boyfriend. Your dad's being replaced. Yeah, well, no, it's funny actually that you say that because now every day I call my dad and my honey and those are like the only two people that I really talk to. So it's kind of true. That is funny. Yeah, it's pretty funny. Hilarious. Yeah. Robbie, what about you? Trying to make some extra cash. I'm going to be doing some haircuts, Mike. I'm going to try to get rid of my old car, pot it out, and then I'm going to see the socks. Are you really getting rid of your old car? Yeah. You still have it? I get a $1,200 stereo system in there, and I got rims and wheels that I just bought. On the old car? Yeah, dude. I went to Vegas, made a little bit of money, came back and put a nice system in it. You are a goofball. That's smart. I'm going to part that out. Guy doesn't eat for a week, but he's got a cool system. What? Nothing. It was an investment, Eddie. And then I'm going to see the Sox up in L.A. You're something else. Yep. The White Sox? No, the Red Sox. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know. Well, you said Sox. I wasn't sure. I might be calling you for bail money. What about you, Oates?
Running the board. Nice, man. Life of excitement. It is. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, I just had a quick comment for that sting operation you guys were talking about at the Chula Vista Courthouse. I just want to say that I really agree with Mike, and he made a really good point when he said that this is a society of people who say, you know, don't punish me when I do something wrong, because in Turkey, a second offense DUI is actually death. Holy cow. Holy cow. That's not fair either. That isn't. Massachusetts at your 40th offense. So what? Guy likes the sauce. What are you going to kill him over it? Come on. What if he goes on to invent something? What's up, dude? Hey, for my birthday, I got four jars of these awesome chilies. And because you guys...
Give me such a great morning. I was willing to give you guys a jar to try out. I was wondering if through email we can arrange, but if I can drop you by a jar this week sometime and maybe bring my kids in to meet you too. Sure, man. That sounds great. Okay, I'll be in touch with email. All right, brother. All right, have a good one. All right, we'll see you. Mikey Show. Hey, it's P1 Pool Boy. You know where they should have the next sting operation at? Where? You should have it at soup plantation. When you walk up... Oh, there you go. If you don't have your license with you or something... This guy's genius. They give you some soup. The best. Have you traded? You have a license for that. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Hey, what up, guys? What's up? I got two things. Sean, I want to thank you for staying on the air. And P1 Pool Boy is an idiot. Tell him to get away from a soup plantation. No way. There it is. No way. Thank you. Lovely and talented Missy is coming up next today on the Nooner. All request lunch. Should be great. Give her a call. Make your requests. And we'll see you back here tomorrow morning at 530. The Mikey Show is out late. Love your mouth.
