Mikey reached the studio less than an hour after waking at 5:15, then joined Eddie and Sean in stories about awkward tech-support slang, a complained-about 'comedy hi,' and the origins of Sky's and Ashley's radio names. Eddie's terror over 30 killer whales off Point Loma, Boston Rob's chaotic courthouse interviews, and Eddie's intentionally cruel Tough Love advice supplied the show's biggest comic set pieces. A long Megan's Law discussion became the serious center of the show as Mikey, Ashley, Sky, P1 Bonita, and A.H. argued over protecting children, exposing offenders, harming their families, and allowing rehabilitation. Dean's instant rejection by Casey, Ashley's nearly unrecognizable karaoke, and Sky's list of enormous restaurant calorie counts closed out the most memorable lighter bits.
What happened, in order
The 5:15 Wake-Up
After staying late at a church-group dinner with Rebecca, Mikey forgot to turn on his 3 a.m. alarm, woke at 5:15, and raced to the studio feeling oddly refreshed.
Buzzword Tech Support
Eddie tested an outsourced support agent's grasp of American slang after the agent unexpectedly told him 'right on.'
The Comedy Hi
Sean recalled a hostile former radio job where a coworker complained that his ordinary clipped 'hi' sounded like an insincere comedy greeting.
How Sky and Ashley Got Named
Mikey explained that Lori chose the on-air name Sky from three options, while Sarah became Ashley because her former station required a new identity.
Thirty Killer Whales
A caller reported more than 30 orcas off Point Loma, and Captain Dave's reassurance that the migration happens annually did little to calm Eddie's intense fear of killer whales.
Courthouse Confessions
Boston Rob interviewed courthouse visitors, including a meth defendant disputing police searches and James, whose tangled stories about crashes, oversized trucks, and gas prices fascinated the hosts.
Tough Love with Eddie
In mock-doctor mode, Eddie answered genuine listener problems with deliberately brutal diagnoses about sweating, skin trouble, and a brother who would not repay Boston Rob.
The Babe Debate
Boston Rob called 'babe' shallow and impersonal, while Mikey, Eddie, Sky, and callers defended pet names ranging from bunny and Lovebird to Yobo and Honey Pot.
The Megan's Law Argument
A report that residency rules had increased homelessness among registered sex offenders led Mikey, Ashley, Sky, P1 Bonita, and caller A.H. into a long argument over child safety, public registries, humiliation by associa
Secret Crush Rejected
Dean confessed a huge crush to Casey live on the phone, only for Casey to sound surprised and immediately refuse the date.
Tone-Deaf Karaoke
Ashley mangled songs by Mariah Carey, Eminem, and Michelle Branch so thoroughly that callers had to identify them from a few barely recognizable clues.
America's Worst Foods
Sky read extreme calorie counts from a Men's Health list, prompting disbelief over giant restaurant meals and a side story about an eight-patty In-N-Out burger.

It's a Mikey show at 6.06. An Amber Alert issued yesterday for a missing Bakersfield boy was canceled after his body was found in a field near his home. Well, SDSU season is over. We're clearly outclassed by Florida getting killed 73-49 in the NIT first round. Oh, wow. Not even close. Yeah, that is not. Let's see. Let's give you the phone numbers. You want to call us right now? 570-1053. And our text number is 35253. So we'd love to get a text from you as well. We'll go around the room. We'll introduce everybody. And then you can call, too, and just get in. Because at the beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment. So it's totally up to you what you call in about. I'm the host of the show. My name's Mikey. I'm 37 years old. And I'll probably count on one hand. My wife and I went to our growth group last night.
church thing where you get together with other people that are about your age and socialize, study the Bible, pray for each other, go home. It's really cool. Last night we didn't do the study of the Bible parts. Last night, and I guess like the last night of what is a semester, you just get together and hang out. It is. It's really cool. Cake punch. Now, last night we did, everybody brought something Mexican, so we brought, or no, Italian. So you showed up? So I came. Oh, nice. I could have brought you. Yeah. Italian. Nice. We did Italian last night, and so Rebecca and I brought a salad from Bucca, and everybody brought some stuff, so you had like pizza and lasagna, and you just had all this food. I can't stop eating! And then we just hung out, and it was great. And so I got home last night at... 10, 15. Whoa. Bro. Yeah, you know, all the Christians are partying real hard. Why bother going to bed, dude? I know it. Well, you guys know I start getting up at 2 now. Yeah. And so I said, I can't do 2 tomorrow. I'm going to set my alarm to 3. So I set it to 3. Never turned it on.
Shut up. Yeah, and I'm running around, you know, and I'm trying to get everything set for the next morning, you know, because I do this and fell asleep. So what I have is on my phone, and thank goodness the phone was on because that's one thing I turn off too, but the phone was on. I have the phone set to 5.15 a.m. to an alarm, and the alarm is to remind me to call Sky. We go over some news stuff. That alarm went off, and I was like, Hmm, what's up? No way! Woke up at 5.15. Oh my gosh! Less than an hour ago, I woke up. That's crazy! Yeah, less than an hour ago. So, I said, I go, honey, honey, honey, honey, honey, honey, honey, honey. And then I was just like, off to the races, man. Just getting out of that place. But I'm here, and, uh... That's crazy.
You did good. Yeah. You did very good, actually. But are you, like, so thrown off or what? It isn't that I'm thrown off. I feel, well, first of all, I feel very rested. I was going to say, you got some good sleep. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, dude. Oh, my goodness. Like, I feel fantastic. I'm like, guys, let's go hiking. Go to bed at 10 more often. Yeah. Yeah. And so. So there's that. I feel very, very rested. And you know me. You know how I always like variety? I love variety. You know, I don't want just a... Instead of having Doritos, I would prefer when all kinds of... Like Skye's Party. She had this variety of stuff. And as soon as I see it, I go, wow. When I see stuff, you know, I like different stuff. So today is like a spice of variety for me. It's kind of exciting for me because it's not the way I do it every day. So it's kind of exciting. And so I got that part going on. But anyway, let's go around the room and talk to everybody and introduce everybody. There's seven people on the show. And I'll just do a quick introduction and then we can just start talking and seeing what's going on. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. If you've never heard, this is especially important for you. But I'm the host of the show. 37 years old.
And I shave my head. And my Mexican-ness is really what defines me. I've heard that. My wife said that she believes, she said to me the other day in our bathroom, that she believes that my Christianity is what defines me now. She said she used to think it was something different. I have to mention, but she used to think it was something different. And now... She says that she thinks that that is a defining part of my personality. I go, really? I go, the only time I ever talk about it is Fridays at the end of the show. She goes, are you nuts? But, you know, she knows the answer to that. So, anyway. Eddie is the funniest guy I've ever met. He is 34 years of age. See what a little sleep will do for me? I like it. No, he is, man. Eddie's funny. And he is about six feet tall and Mexican and Italian, as stated earlier. And Eddie, is anything interesting going on? I had an interesting experience with an outsourcing call yesterday. What? Yeah. What happened? Well...
I had to call because I wanted an upgrade. Now that I got my new computer, I still have an old modem. And so I wanted an upgrade. I thought it would be time and they could hook me up. The internet provider that I have would hook me up with a newer model. So immediately I get outsourced to India. And so the guy, I don't know if they're starting to train them with buzzwords. Yeah, they do. Yeah, and so he's using buzzwords with me, and I'm starting to kind of laugh, and I'm like... Like what? He said at one point... He said like, oh yeah, right on. And I went, that didn't seem right. And so I started this... I'm like, okay, I'm going to test this guy. And so I started to use words with him. I go, all right, cool, I'm down with that. And I'd wait for his response, and you could tell he kind of didn't get it, but he was like, I'll just move on. So when you said you're done with that... In the basement? Which do you mean? Well, right on, anyway. That was pretty fun. We went back and forth, screwing with each other. Sweet. Dude, where's my car?
Here, here, here. Real fresh. That was fun yesterday. Sky is our news girl. Hi. She is 30 years old, and she likes to get out in the garden and do stuff in it. She likes to get in there and do stuff. What are you doing? What are you up to? Well, the newest is we're putting in retaining walls. So, you know, we bought all the block. And so that's real fun. And when you say we, you mean your husband? Well, I'm supervising. I am a supervisor. So I am supervising. You're a 30-year-old guy. That's fun. No, I do help. I don't do as much as he does. She does. She gets out there. See, Rizzy's seen me out there with my mask and sunscreen. You're not just yelling, pull. Pull. Pull. To the left. Fantastic. Shawnee, oh boy, he is our sound effects guy. He's got a birthday coming up here in about 11 days, and he is a tall man. Shawnee, give the audience a little example of what you do. Skrill. There you go. Ash, do you have any maid coffee in the office right now or no? Yeah. You do? For sure. Oats. Yo. Can you put some more coffee in there? Yep. Gracias.
I just thought of something really funny. Go ahead. This radio station I used to work at, nobody liked me there. Everybody hated me there. And I once got in trouble for saying hi the wrong way to someone. What station? KEZR, Mike. Oh, yeah. Mix 106.5. Sean used to work at this station in the Bay Area called KEZR, and it was like Kixi, kind of. Was it like Kixi? Yeah. Yeah, pretty much, yeah. That was Brian Adams. What? Sean did the morning show, dude. He had a partner. And they didn't get along. Can you imagine doing a show with somebody you don't like? They didn't like each other at all. That's so weird. How do you be funny? Yeah, it was hard, man. We just fight all the time. So how did you say hi? The woman complained that I was giving her... Oh, he was nude at the time. He forgot to mention that. Is that a problem? So... She called it a comedy high. That's what she told my boss. I gave her a comedy high like I was insincere. But the thing is, I say it the same way to everyone. I was walking past her, and she goes, good morning, Sean. And I go, hi. Yeah, that's your hi. That's his hi. That is the way he says hi. Yeah, and so she complained to my boss. What? That's crazy. Yeah, dude. That was an awful place. I may complain as well.
Even when you call Sean, sometimes he'll do that. He'll answer the phone by going, hi. Hi. Or say, hello, pumpkin. That's our boy. Ashley's our girl. She's 24. Very cute. Smiley. And Ashley has got a new boyfriend. That's something new in her life. And a new dog. It's a pug. Pugsley. Puggle. Who do you love more? You're in a boat. Oh! Yes. Yes. No, you're not. You're in a boat. I'll draft. And the boat has got to have something. You've got to clear the way. And the boat says, you have to stay, Ashley. No two ways. You can't. You're chained. You're chained in the boat. Yeah. No one's got the key. The only one not chained down is the puggle and the honey. What?
And so, you got to make a choice. No, I won't. Never in a million years. I would die. I would die. Wow, she's tearing up just thinking about it. Whoa, wow. Stop. And you know what's really... She must be in love. Oh, yeah, for sure, Sean. What was that? I was just saying she must be in love, Mike. Oh, wow. For the record, though, he is not that big of a fan of Sammy, my puppy. So it kind of causes... Why? I don't blame him. Because he told me yesterday, he's like, hey, listen, if one of us is going to go, it's going to be the dog. Oh, wow. And I was like. Yeah, let it down. Why? What's his problem with Sammy? Well, she is a lot of work. She's a lot of work. Would you guys agree that the dog is a lot of work or she puts a lot into the dog? Yeah. I mean, it seems to me like I've had many dogs over my lifetime. And I mean, you train them. And then, you know, they kind of, dogs are pretty self-sufficient. I mean, they can kind of take care of themselves. And, you know, I mean, you play with them and, you know, stuff like that. But Ashley, like, has, like, a strict. Very strict. Like, routine. Listen, this is the most cared for dog in the history of dogs. Well, when I got her from the, well, the shelter two months ago, she was, she wouldn't be around other dogs, other people. She'd cry, bark, you know, hair would go up, stick up in the back and she'd growl.
She was a really antisocial, like, crazy dog, and I've really put a lot of time training her. And she's so much better now, but she's still really hyper, never calms down. I mean, you know, so he gets worn out from that. And he doesn't know how to train her. So she'll jump on him. She'll bite him. Oh, how fun. Right. That sounds like a party. Hair everywhere. She's trying to get up in the, you know, kissing, like, whatever. You've seen those people that will kiss their dogs on the mouth, like when the dog licks. Like when the dog licks. I don't see that. They'll kiss. What kind of people? While the dog licks so they're kissing lips. Like five-year-old people? No, no, no, Sean. No, I mean like 27-year-old women. What? You know, at Fashion Valley. No, yeah, I know. They'll take their little dog out of their purse and go, oh, you're a depression. But I will. It's gross. Yeah, that's something about Mary. It's really gross. Exactly. Let's see. Boston Rob is our phone screener. That's what I do. He's also a singer-songwriter. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got a song for you yesterday. Yeah, I know. I know. I want to get approval to lay this thing down. This guy, dude. It's so funny. What? Oh, no. Well, the other day, Eddie brought up this memory. Oh, you're talking about Mr. Big? Yeah. Are you talking about when we went to San Francisco and you went into one of those little...
Yes, that was the one. Doing yourself recording studios. That was the one. Singing Mr. Big. That was it. To be with you. That was awesome. That was awesome. Baba Baloo. Baba Baloo. I say Baba Baloo to my wife when she's telling me a story now and I already know the whole thing and I want her to... Please, I know. Yes, yes. Is that your code name? It's Baba Baloo. Baba Baloo. Yeah. And, you know, because it's so painful to hear the whole story. It was great, though. You did an amazing job. I mean, I wish we had that cassette still. Like, oh, gosh, I didn't give anything. So, you know, Eddie on the air. asked me to sing it. And I knew I had a choice to make. I'm either going to sing it or we're going to go through 10 minutes of Come On, Please. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was so good. And I have learned at 37 years of age, just sing it. Just do it. Well, whatever it is. Whatever it is. Last night, my wife gave me a real break. She rarely does this, but she leaned over and she said, whispered, as people were talking, instead of just doing it, she leaned over. The talk at the table was No Country for Old Men.
So she asked, which is different. Do you guys know what I'm about to say? That she asked? I think so. What did she ask? To not do the voice? For me to do the voice. To do the voice. To do the voice. She enjoys it a lot. It's one of her favorite ones. Oh, that's cool. Instead of what would be normal, which would be, you guys, Mike does this great voice. Honey, will you do it? But yeah, so I sang. this song by Mr. Big, and it was very embarrassing. And Rob thought it was very funny, so now he's written a parody song to... He's written a parody song to that Mr. Big song. It's about me, and I know, I know, I'm gonna be really uncomfortable. Sounds really great. Great job, Rob. Way to go, dude. So that's Rob. Zethian Oates is our 23-year-old internet guru. He does everything internet. He does all kinds of stuff. Well, Seth. And I had a conversation with him the other day about picking up the pace, and he has. So I want to give credit where credit's due publicly. He did. He picked up the pace, and he's a good kid. The one thing that very few people know is that Seth is very funny, too.
Turns out he's very funny. In fact, that's one of the first things that I noticed about him when we were doing the Mikey Show auditions is that Zeth is funny. Very clever. But he's also very quiet, so you rarely hear him. He's respectful to the media. He's respectful to the public. And he's a good kid. Can't deny it. And he's got a new girlfriend. And I've already forgot her name, and I've heard it now. Saisha. Oh, that's right. Saisha. Is it Saisha? Saisha. Good morning, Saisha. Big shout out to Si. Silly. Yeah, it takes me a while. I did this thing about four weeks ago as a, you know, trying to work on this. As a church, met a couple of people. And I said their names in front of them with my hands up, counting on my fingers. And I didn't care that I looked strange. But their names are David and Nicole. I may never see them again. And I went David, David, David, Nicole, Nicole, Nicole. And now I got it. That's cool. If I ever see him again, I'll remember. But Eddie can tell you, Matt, I do not know names. I can't. They don't lodge in the brain. They don't stick in there. I know neither here. It's really difficult. Like Ashley's boyfriend, Mark. Mark. So cool. Mark. Be his name. Never again. Ever again. Poor guy. Guy's name is Mark now. I told him. He thinks it's funny. Well, what's so funny is that I could see him as either one. That's true, Ashley.
And I'm going to, yeah, every time I see him now, it's going to be so easy to know that he's Mark. Like, who looks at either of the women on the show and thinks they're real names? No way. I thought at your house, Skye. When we were at your house on Saturday night, I think I heard your husband call you by your name. Yeah. And it was so strange to me. Yeah. And for a moment, I looked at you and I went, man, she doesn't look like that. She looks like Skye. Yeah. I only use it when I'm doing it for comedic purposes. Singing songs about it. When I say Ashley's real name, it freaks her out. I get really uncomfortable. She don't like it. She prefers Ashley. You know when it's really crazy? You know when you've really passed into a nickname has become a name? Monday, Ashley and I were working out difficulties and I was referring to her as Ashley. You know, in the context of, we've got to work this out, Ash. Yeah. Like the other person, I mean, there is, she's just Ashley. Yeah. That's crazy. It's crazy. It's weird. 570-1053 is our phone number. Call us at the beginning and end of every show. And talk about whatever you want. And you can also text us at 35253. That is correct. So text us.
The texts have been great, man. Everybody has taken to those texts. It started out the first time we were first talking about the text. We would get two or three that first hour. As the hours progressed within that first day we ever did it, they were getting a little bit more and a little bit more. Now, Zeth is printing pages upon pages of text messages. I was in Aquatic Warehouse yesterday and one of the dudes was like, dude, I text all the time. That's rad. Wow. P1 Repo Man. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's going on? Hey, I'm willing to show my dedication to the show, and I want to get a P1 Army tattoo. Somebody brought that up. Didn't Jay bring that up, Eddie? Yeah. If you want to get one, that's cool. That's fine. I'm going to let you know the obvious. Man, those things, they don't wash off. No, they stay. Those tattoos, they stay. Because somebody had brought this idea of the tattoos up and all that. And it's like, hey, man, you want to get a tattoo? That's cool. Especially if you're showing your appreciation for the Mikey show through a tattoo. Well, I'll do it. I'll do it today. And I'll come to the K1 race so you can see it. All right. We'll take a picture. Yeah, that's awesome. There you go, man. Thanks. All right. See you, Mikey. Some people really like to show that they like. Listen.
Those first edition P1 stickers that we gave out, part of the only problem, some of the times a problem with a radio station when they give out a sticker is that people will put them on and take them off. And that's a problem for the radio station because they want everybody to know that's the point of the sticker. We had a different problem with the Mikey Show stickers. People were literally stealing them off people's cars and putting them on theirs because they were so high in demand. And we couldn't give enough of those stickers away. So that's the deal. Hey, listen, if you want to show your appreciation by getting a tattoo, that's your call. That thing don't come off. P1 Brian. Hey, how's it going? I was really curious as to why you use pseudonames on the show. I got an answer for you. Okay. I got an answer for you. Now, there are some of us that do not use pseudonames.
And I will now, of the seven of us, I will tell you who doesn't use a pseudoname. I don't. My name is actually Mike. But I go by Mikey on the air. The way that came up is somebody called me that one time on the air. It was a DJ before I came on. He said, Mikey's up next. My program director liked it, called me and said, You are now Mikey. And from that day, and it was at this radio station. It was at KIOZ. Really? Only it was years ago. It was like 1995 when I worked at KIOZ. And so it stuck, and I've been Mikey on KIOZ ever since. Eddie's name is Eddie. His real name is Eddie. He's always gone by Eddie. Rob's name is Rob, and he's always gone by Rob. Sean's name is Sean. He's always gone by Sean. And... Zeth's name is Zeth, and he's always gone by Zeth. Wait, that's a real name? Yeah. That is correct. Yeah, it's only the girls who have the nicknames here on the show. The girls have the nicknames, and I'll tell you why. When Sky first started working on the Mikey show, was there back in 1998 or 99, Sky? 99, I believe. 99. And it was in San Jose, and at the time, it was just me and a girl.
That's what the Mikey show was. Me and a girl. And I had a and I called them my producer because Eddie wasn't with me at the time. I had to bring in somebody and they wouldn't pay for a producer. So what I would essentially do is I would bring in girls that wanted to do like internships for college credit. So Skye's husband heard this on my show. Yeah, he was a P1 back in the day. Yeah. And so he said to her. Why don't you go try out for this? I hear this dude on the radio saying that he wants somebody to come on and work with him. I did not know that. That's crazy. Yeah. And so she came in. Wow. And when she walked in, as soon as I saw her, I went, I like this chick. She was wearing overalls. Yeah. Yeah. Big selling point. She was wearing overalls with the tank top underneath. And I already thought that was cool. Some hemp jewelry on. My name's Sky. What's happening? Oh, wow. And she was like super hippie. And I loved it. And she'll tell you the same thing. From the moment we went on the radio together, we had a chemistry.
From the second we went on the radio, there was a chemistry. There wasn't like a developed chemistry. It was from the moment we started talking, there was a chemistry together. Cool. And so, can we say your real name or no? Not your first name. I'll just say it. Okay. Her name is Lori. But at the time, I had this thing where every girl that worked on my show, I had to change their name. I worked with a girl. Yeah, I had to. It was like your thing. It was my thing. I had to name them. And so I had a girl, I'll give you an example. I had a girl named Christy. I changed her name to Star. Okay. When we were in Dallas, I had a girl named Katie. I changed her name to Tori. Don't forget Rain. We had, right before Sky, I had a girl named Melanie, and I changed her name to Rain. Cool. I like these one-word names. Okay, well, why did you pick... Sky, was it because she was high all the time? Let me tell you. I gave Sky a choice. I said, I'm going to give you three names. I gave her the name Holly, I gave her the name Sky, and I gave her the name Chyna. And this is before Chyna. There was no Chyna the wrestler. So my thinking wasn't Chyna the wrestler, okay? I just thought those three names were cool. Holly, Sky, and Chyna.
But Holly was the one that I wanted to use the most because I thought it was a nice sounding name. I thought it would sound good on the radio. And so Sky picked Sky. And she was that forever. She's been Sky forever. With Ashley. Why did you pick Sky? Well, I thought it was a really cute hippie name. At the time, Mike said he liked it because he thought it was a hot stripper name. That is true. Back in the day. That is true. So we each had our own thoughts on what it was, and we were both happy. We went with it. There are people that really, they don't know her by anything else and think that's her actual name. Oh, yeah. Well, that's awesome. And how'd you pick out Ashley? Ashley was a different story. I wanted to use her real name, I can say. Sarah. Her real name is Sarah. And I wanted to use it because I grew out of the naming people thing. And I was just like, we're going to use names. And so I wanted to use Sarah. But she was working on a different radio station here in San Diego in the building for a clear channel called 933, channel 933. And her boss at the time was very reluctant to let her go, even though she wasn't being utilized very much at the other station.
But whenever she came on our show, I loved her. I loved the rapport. I loved her personality. I wanted her in the worst way and was telling them, we got to have this girl. And they said no. And I kept pushing and pushing and pushing. And finally, the program direct. And I kept putting up things that made it seem very selfish to keep her. Really? Yeah, I did. I made it seem like it was extraordinarily selfish to you and it was extraordinarily selfish to KIOZ within the cluster and that we were doing things to the cluster that weren't fair. And I was talking to different peep managers saying, do you know that your girl's doing this and that's not very good for the cluster? I did not know that either. So they finally said, okay, we'll let her go and work on the show. But the program director said, you have to change her name though because she's gone by the name Sarah on the air at... Channel 933. And so I, at the time, remember that Ashley Simpson was a big deal, and I thought the name was really cute. I thought the name was real. I wanted a name that sounded like her personality, and she was very bubbly and sweet and vibrant with that smile. Every time you saw her, that giant smile, and I went, Ashley.
But Ashley, didn't you like not really care for it in the beginning? Because I remember when I said it to you, you were like, hmm, yeah, yeah, Ashley. Yeah, I mean, I guess basically like I've always wanted like a cool radio name. And I've always envisioned a cool radio name being like China or Sky or Star, like kind of different. So Ashley was like Sarah, like kind of just a basic girl name. So I was kind of like. dang, Mike, why don't I get a cool name like Sky's name? But now you let me pick how to spell it, which I got to spell it with two E's instead of the Y. I was happy. That's right. As long as it's different, that's all that matters. That's right. Thank you for the walk down memory lane, by the way. Thank you very much for answering my call. You all have a great morning. You have a good one, man. Can we try China for a day? It's the day. I'm trying to, what's happening? Oh, wow. I was talking with Ashley. Wow, that's even weirder. So here's what we're going to do. Phones are blowing up. People are really calling in today. So I do want to take phone calls. So if you're on hold right now, hopefully you can just hold on a little bit longer. And you can also text us at 35253. And I think that what we'll do is we will take a quick timeout.
But first, bust a moose. Oh, yeah. Today on the show, we're going to be doing something called Whatcha Doing at the Courthouse. What we do is we send Rob down to the San Diego County Courthouse. And as people walk into the courthouse, Ashley is so absorbed in Eddie doing every single word to this song right now. He knows every word to this song. He's doing lip sync. Every word. Every single word. I listen to this song every single day. How old, Eddie? I think I was in high school. Yeah. So, Boston Rob, out in front, as they walk into the courthouse, Rob has a microphone and says, what you doing at the courthouse? It's pretty awesome. We're also going to be doing something today that perhaps you're familiar with, perhaps you're not. It's called Tough Love with Eddie. Also on the show today, we are going to be talking about something very similar to what we're talking about right now.

So far, so good this morning. Getting by with a fairly easy ride out here. You've got more brake lights. I mean, actually, more cars kind of keeping your company out here, but really not slowing down too bad here. The South Point's out of the 15. Some reduced speeds a little bit towards Felicia, then again through Rancho Bernardo, but overall, you know, pretty good. Stop on 10 to the 5, also a brief delay near Encinitas, then you're pretty much on your way. A little bit of fog to deal with here this morning, but not affecting your ride too much here. East County is looking good for you. The westbound 52, a minor delay up the hill out of Santee. West 8 looking great into the valley. The 94 King Freeway, that's clear all the way to downtown. And also a few brake lights on the 5 with the 805 northbound out of the South Bay here. Coming up through National City, 805 bunching up just a bit again through North Park. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105.3. Hooking you up.

Okay, let's get into the show. We've got tons of people calling and hanging on hold that want to talk to us. P1 Bubba S., are you there? Yes, sir. How are you doing this morning, Mikey? I'm good, man. How are you? Great. I just wanted to let you guys know. I didn't hear you guys report anything about it, but there was killer whale sightings off the coast of Point Loma. Get out of here. Whoa. Come on. I'm not lying to you. Dude, come on. Is that true? It was reported on News 8 and everything. You go on their website and look at all the photos. For those of you... Not just one or two, but 30. 30 killer whales. Come on. Sky's Googling. I'm going. She's going to find out if this is a true story. I'm going.
Eddie might want to be careful because I heard they like big tuna. It's a joke. See? It's a practical joke. That's not the time. Yeah, it was a practical joke. I think he said the big tuna line, and that was his big punch line after the whale sighting. Is that right, sir? I'm not big tuna. No, that's true. It's true that there really was whales, killer whales. It's really true. The guy took a bunch of photos of all of them. All right, let's let Skye tell us what's going on. Skye? Well, so this guy, I guess, you know, he goes fishing on the weekends, and he went out in his boat off of Point Loma and was about eight miles out off of Point Loma when he was surrounded by more than 30 killer whales, a pot of them. He says there was one that he estimated at about 30 feet long. It was bigger than his 22-foot boat. Oh, my. Yeah, he said he nicknamed the big one Grandpa because he protectively swam straight towards his boat to kind of protect the rest of the pod. And he took a bunch of pictures and like the caller said, shared them with News 8, all his pictures and video. It's Eddie's nightmare. Eddie hates killer whales. They terrify him. And so now he's actually thinking to himself,
In my own backyard, like where I live, San Diego. Like, yeah, I know they're at SeaWorld. I have no choice with that. But now they're in our ocean. Right. But also, I think that maybe what he's going through, oh, Eddie's taking his headphones off because he can't stand that sound effect. Not now. I think the other thing that may be going through Eddie's head is, unfortunately, the mind will do this. Yeah. The mind will make you go into that boat. Right. And imagine what it's like that you're in that boat. And now it's very difficult for him to sort of have that thought in his head. Dude, that is my absolute worst nightmare. But you're not hanging out eight miles out in the ocean. But, like, I would have never thought they would be anywhere near Point Loma. So I would have been okay with going out on a boat and not even thinking like that. It could have been you, Eddie. Dude, shut up. But now, but now no. If someone says, hey, Eddie, would you like to go fishing? You're never going to go on a boat? Never again. Wait, like that? Eddie, I will never go on the ocean. Eddie, that is an overreaction.
30 of them, and one of them was trying to kill the guy? No one said that. He said he was aggressively going through the boat. No one said aggressively. And he was bigger than the boat. He could have swallowed him. He was protecting the pod, staying in between the boat and the pod. So he's aggressive. Hey, Sky. These pictures are beautiful, by the way. You know what nobody ever considered? What if that big one was actually protecting the man? from his friends who he knew. Maybe he said to the other guys. Maybe he said to the other guys. He was like, you guys, let's protect this man. He is a mere human. They're not called protective whales. They're called killer whales. They kill. Because they have evil in their heart and they should all be harpooned. They should all be harpooned. Reaper whales. That's right. Eddie does not like that man. That is brutal. Captain Dave, are you on the line? Hey, what's going on, Mike? Hey, can you explain anything about these killer whales and what's going on? Actually, yes. I used to be a skipper out of one of the tuna boats down in Point Loma, H&M Landing, and this happens every year along with the whales. They come down from up north and they go down to Mexico to breed. So this is a thing that happens every single year that goes on. We see them out there around this time, around the springtime for a few months, and then the whales come.
But it's a natural thing. Wow. Every single year, Eddie. So if you're going out on a boat... I'm never going to. Don't worry about it. Never again. Okay, now wait a minute, sir. Hang on, Captain Dave. Tell Eddie when they're not here. Eddie when they're not here? Yeah. July, August, September, October, November, December. Eddie, there you go. You want a boat? He gets lost. Well, then you know that he's a ridiculous one and he ain't going to cause you any harm. He's probably got mental problems. He's a goofy man. He's a goofy man. Oh, really? Really? They won't eat you? Yeah, they're kind and gentle. No, I read in the Inquirer they want to eat you. Yeah, they do. Only the ones that have orca tattooed on their fins. That's true, dude, but they all do. They all do. P1 Tony. Yeah, how you doing? What's up, dude? Good, man. I just wanted to let you know I run sport fishing boats up here out of Dana Point out of South Orange County. We will never meet.
Come on, dude. Eddie, wait a second. You can't rule Tony out. Yeah, sorry. I mean, he sounds like a nice guy. Hey, that's all right. You know, you can think what you want to think about the ocean, but... Eddie doesn't have a problem with the ocean. He's got a problem with, as he calls them, the black and whites. Yeah, the residents. That's right. That's right. Whatever. They're out there every year. We see them every year. About two years ago, we saw a pod, about 20 of them, attack a baby Mickey whale. Oh! Oh, that upset Eddie. That upset Eddie attacking the baby minky whale. He became the baby minky whale. Eddie likes the minkies. Yeah, who doesn't? Thank you very much. All right, have a good day. It's the circle of life, Mike. That's what I heard. What if they get confused and they don't, like, ah, forget it. I don't know what you're saying, though. What if they're like, oh, is that a sardine or a human? I'll take my chances. What is it, Saturday or Wednesday? Yeah, I can't remember. Well, oh, well. Who's the president? Oh, no. Eddie's looking at Sky right now. He's really upset. I thought we cared about one another. When people get confused, those things happen. Eddie's got a look on his face right now that just changed from... I thought we cared about each other, too. We do. We do care about each other. Now the look is... Why is that? Now the look Eddie had on his face is, okay, I realize this is the way the dance is going to go today. I'm not fighting you! Eddie just gave me the... Okay, Mike, let's break signal. Oh, man! You know what? Let's just...
Let me off my leash. Let's just take a break. And now that I know the rules and how the game's going to be played, let's get this thing started. It's on. It's on. It is now on. If you're not in the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, text the word Mikey to 35253. And if you're already in the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, just text us. 35253. That's not confusing, right? Just want to let you know we're going to be doing what you're doing at the courthouse here in just a second. Yeah. Boss and Rob. Sending him out to the courthouse to ask people as they walk into the courthouse, what you doing at the courthouse? And so we'll be doing that here in just a second. Stick around for that. And if you want to text us, the number is 35253. here's some of the texts that we're getting this morning. Mikey, just wanted to say good morning and thank you for making my drive home from work so awesome. That's P1 Mistress. Apparently she's working the late shift. What do they call that? Third shift? I think. Graveyard. Then, hey Mikey, my prayers go out to your dad. Awesome show, man. That's signed P1 Goya. Thank you, Goya. Appreciate that. P1 Roland says, Mikey, question. Is Eddie afraid of whales in general or just killer whales? Eddie? I am afraid of whales in general, specifically killer whales because they kill. But there was a... I forgot what the heck we were watching the other day. Me and my wife were watching something and a small boat was in the ocean and a giant humpback was right next to it. Castaway.
No, no, no. It wasn't cast away? No, it wasn't. It was like real. It was like a real thing. Oh, real thing. And they were like, ooh, look at it. And I was like in tears because that was like one of my worst nightmares is to have a giant. It's the size. Like the size of them freaked me out. Like I hate it. And Eddie would never do something like a whale watching expedition. No way. No way. A million years. I got my dad on the line. Just want to say hi to him because today he's. Hey, Pop. Yeah. How are you? Doing okay. You feeling all right? Feeling okay. All I said is that my dad's having a procedure today and I asked listeners if they would pray for you because you know that there's a lot of power in prayer. But I didn't get a chance to talk to you. And so I just wanted to call you and say everything's going to be good and you're going to be good to go. What time do you do it? I've got to be there at 8. A quarter to 8, rather. In like 40 minutes. Yeah. Okay, so you guys got to leave right now. Pretty quick. All right. Well, Dad and I take a writing class together on Thursday, so today we're not going to be able to do that, but next week we'll be doing it. But I just wanted to get you on the phone and tell you that I love you, and it's going to be all right, and you're going to be good to go, Pops. I love you too, Mikey. And do me a favor, Dad. When will you be done? It only takes about 20, 30 minutes. Okay, so you'll be home probably by 10 a.m. or something? Oh, yeah.
Yeah. Okay. Well, when you get home, well, I'll call you when I'm done here and see how you're feeling. Okay. All right, pops. I love you guys. I love you. See you, Danny. See you. Have a good day. Bye-bye. There you go. He is such a good guy. Fun guy. The best. Did you hear him? He said he loved you. He did say that. Correctly to you. I know. I was marinating in it. Nice. It was so beautiful. Dad doesn't say that very often. Even when he writes emails, I was telling him the other day, even when Dad writes emails, he says, I love you guys. But we're not on the email. And you're not on the email, but he still says it. I love you guys. I appreciate it. That's nice. But anyway, there it is. That's Pops. The people in cases you are about to hear are real. The person interviewing them is real. Stupid. It's time for Whatcha Doing at the Courthouse. I like Whatcha Doing at the Courthouse. Me too. Well, what we do is... Now, Rob is just perfect guy for this thing. I gotta go down there anyways. That's the deal. I do. He doesn't look like... He doesn't look like he doesn't belong there. So instantly, I think people can trust him. Or maybe not. I don't know. No, they don't. Yeah, they don't trust him. You're part of the media. Yeah, that's right. No, I've been asked if I was an undercover cop a bunch of times. And I'm like, me? Wow, really? Yeah. Oh.
A couple times I've played along. They call me Serpico. That's great. I realized something, though, when I went this week. You can tell if they're a criminal by their teeth. How is that? What? You mean bad teeth? Do you mean a grill? What? Occasionally, you know what charges they got if their teeth are really, really jacked up. Really? Oh, yeah. Yeah, messed up teeth could mean meth. Yeah. Right? Because did you, I don't know if people know this, if you use meth too long, it'll mess up your teeth. It'll start to melt away the protective coating on your teeth that protects them. But I mean, majority of the time, criminals ain't got perfect grills. You know, they don't have the pearly whites. Or good grammar. Yep. Huh? Whoa, shot it, bro. Now, the reason that this turns out to be interesting is because most of the time, no one is guilty. That is true. Well, of course, Mike. No. No one is guilty. And so Rob asked them as they walk in, what you doing at the courthouse? What's the first guy? Very bad teeth. Not guilty. He kind of rambled for a minute, but it was kind of interesting because he was saying cops were bugging him, but he got busted with meth, so they show up at your house, you know? But he feels that he may be being harassed. Oh, very much so. I got you. I got you.
What you doing at the courthouse? Well, basically, I got arrested being under the influence of controlled substance. This one cop had a... You mind saying what controlled substance? Methamphetamine. One officer had a... I guess a... You could say for me. And he kept trying to prove that I was actually selling methamphetamine. He swore I had pounds at my house. And meanwhile, when I was going through the court system at... I'm trying to take care of this. I got my fourth waiver taken away. Now, what's that? You got your fourth waiver taken away? Basically, I don't have a fourth amendment anymore. I can be searched. Is that what he meant by waiver? Did he mean amendment? Fourth amendment? Yeah, yeah. Residents can be searched anytime, any place that they want to search me. Now, does that happen after you busted one tie? They just right away or how many times you actually got a... Okay, they want you to get your fourth waiver taken away. So when you go to... They don't actually. They actually don't. Contrary to popular belief, they don't want to see you again. Really? I think the difference. They don't want to see you again. They would rather... They're like fetish. No. They'd rather never see you again. They say, okay, you don't do any jail time. You get put on probation and you have to sign your fourth waiver away.
So as long as you're on probation, so how many years or whatever. And then that's how they get everybody to get, you know, put on fourth waiver. So they get their fourth waiver taken away. So pretty much all they got to do is run your information. And if they want, they don't have to have probable cause. They don't have to have nothing. They can just. Exactly. They can just search you or strip you or whatever they want to do. And right now I'm just trying to clear that all up. One of my favorite things about courthouse is their knowledge of the law. That is correct. Yeah. Like their knowledge of the law is so jacked and backwards, but they sound like they know what they're talking about. There's those words, the keyword, you know what I mean? It's hysterical. And it's really a... Now, did this cop ever come to your house and just walk right in? What happened? Yeah, yeah. Like 7, 8 o'clock in the morning, I'm getting pounding. I'm getting doors, my door's pounding on. I got eight cops, nine cops out in front of my house. They're all piling in my house. My dad's 80 years old, and, you know, I mean, something like that could give him a heart attack. Now, did they ever once find anything? That is bad, too. The fact that his son has a meth lab that will give him a heart attack. When they came to your house, not one thing. So, and how many times did this happen? Oh, I'd say maybe 15, if not more. They had the DEA there once.
As a matter of fact, there was two DEA agents searching my garage. One was on one side searching the walls. The other was on the other side. The lady DEA agent looked over to her partner and said, there's nothing here. This is a waste of time. Let me tell you something. I'm glad I don't have the DEA agents in the garage. I'm surprised you don't. It's not fun. That is not fun. Rob met a friendly neighborhood guy that is talking to B-Rob about getting into car accidents. Let's take a listen. Tell me about the automobile troubles that you've been in so far. Well, first off, you know, I've been in a couple car accidents. Californians don't take driving as a privilege. They think of it as an everyday thing. That is true. So far, I am on board with this gentleman. His name is James. So far, I'm on board. I think that's true. Other cities, people use left and right blankets before they change lanes. I've been hit by an 85-year-old man, and he told me it was my fault. When he rear-ended me off the road and I bounced off the medium wall three times. Now, wait a second. What happened? The guy just randomly rear-ended him and he bounced off the medium three times. Got in a car accident with a $10,000 vehicle with a 4'11 girl who turned out to be a stripper. She turned out to be. A couple weeks later, seen her at the club. Driving her boyfriend's lifted trailblazer.
But yet the police said my car was low to the ground. Got it. I think I'm putting it together. The girl that's in the car, I thought was just a normal gal. Turns out, no, she's a stripper. She's got a boyfriend who drives a trailblazer and he's behind me bumping me off the road. Is that what I'm guessing? This is a separate incident. Separate incident. Totally separate story. Her car is taller than me and I'm six foot four. But yet she got to climb into the car. What's the problem with that? Don't you think they should get a different kind of class license to drive those big-ass vehicles? Yeah, he's saying the girl was very, very petite. The car was very, very lifted. The girl had to climb into the car. It was so lifted. But then I guess the cops blamed him because his car was too low to the ground. So he's claiming it's not that his car was too low. It's that her car was too high. Wow. Why do I get played? Because I'm in a Japanese two-door coupe. Now, if it was a 68 Camaro or a 2001 Camaro, it wouldn't be a problem. What is his infraction? That he's got a car that's too low? What is the infraction? It sounds like it. His car is too low to the ground. He's getting played because he's got a two-door coupe. Japanese coupe. Where did the trailblazer, the big trailblazer, come into it? I don't understand. I'm trying to put together why he's... He was in two different accidents. One with the 80...
Five-year-old guy who bumped him and he ran into the median three times. Got it. Then, a separate incident, a 4'11 stripper who was driving her boyfriend's lifted trailblazer hit him again. I got it. I'm 100% in on the story now. He got into a collision with the girl turned out to be a stripper. Correct. Got it. Got it. Getting penalized because it's a Japanese two-door coupe. But yet, you let these roll around with these big-ass trucks with these, like... Big-ass turbos in it, spooling up, sending all this shit to the ozone, but yet you care about me driving an inline four. So we got a few issues going on that he's upset about. Number one, he's upset at the inequality about this whole, what's wrong with my car? Look at that one. It's too high. So we got a problem of equality, first of all. But then we've kind of got a green issue here, too. Thank you. Because those suckers are putting stuff off into the ozone. We might be taking a look at that too. It's called global warming. Incoherent truth. That is true. Turbo engine. But you don't say nothing about these big ass 350 block engines with the turbos and the superchargers. Again, lift it up like a f***ing school bus. And yet they drive crazy as hell. That's my position on it. F***. They should get charged. Wow. That's some strong feelings. That is James.
That is James. Now, this next cut is more with James. Oh, yeah. Good. I like him. And this next cut is about, you know, Rob and he got into a conversation about this time that we're having right now with gas prices being as high as they are. Oh, this is Rob's hot button. Yeah. And he talks to James a little bit about the gas prices. So we're talking automobiles. What's your take on gas prices? Again, this is coming from the brother who drives a two-door Japanese sport coupe. We know. We got it already. We know. Gas prices on Super Tuesday, gas was $2.90. Okay, that's telling me that the mofos in charge... Okay, thank you. All right. ...are sitting up here trying to make their party look good by lowering the cost of gas and making people feel good about getting out their vote. But at the end of the day, we all know you guys, a.k.a. the Republicans... Yes. By you guys, I mean... Basically, bumping up the gas prices, you don't want to be cool with other countries. And look at us right now. We're in Southern California, paying damn near, what, $4 for a tank of gas? But you're going, like, other states and everything? Well, the only thing I'm confused about is, yeah, we're paying $4 a thing of gas, but what do you drive? I don't... I haven't got it yet. How does it apply to you, though, James? What do you drive? The gas is like, Lord, what the hell? What's the problem?
You know, last time I checked, Bush had money in oil, but, you know, I'm just saying, Super Tuesday rolled around, you know, next thing you know, there's $290, but after Tuesday, you know what I'm saying, it's back on up. I'm saying, you got Barack trying to come in office. Love the brother. Love the brother. Thank you. Keep that gas price down. Thank you very much. Hey, listen, James does make some sense, so I can't deny it. Just want to let you know you can text us at 35253. Any thoughts that are on your mind, just put your name on there when you sign it. And we got a big P1 party tomorrow. We want to see every one of you out at our big P1 party. It is tomorrow at K1 Speed in Carlsbad. Tecate Light, the number one cerveza light in Mexico, is now available here in the United States. To ensure that Tecate Light remains true to its Mexican cerveza roots, we will not refer to Tecate Light as light b****. We feel its Mexican flavor and attitude are much too bold to be referred to as an ordinary light b****. In fact, to our censors, b***h is a four-letter word. They didn't even allow b***h to be mentioned in the same commercial as Tecate Light. Not even to explain the difference between b***h and cerveza. So as you can hear, all references to b***h have been censored for your protection in order to avoid any unintended association between light b***h and Tecate Light Cerveza. Tecate Light. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We're getting by with a fairly nice commute here once again. Looks like spring break has given us a break on the freeways. Right now, your South Bay commute, not too bad at all. This 805 northbound looking good for you. Just a minor delay in North Park. A little bit tougher, though, as you come out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over the 52. Northbound 5, bunching up a bit around that South Bay Freeway. You're good to go, though, out of the East County. The King Freeway westbound looking great all the way to downtown. The West 8, also a smooth ride in the Mission Valley. Westbound 52, however, starting to see a bit of a backup out of Santee as you come up the hill to the top of the summit. Heading south in the 15, and not too bad out of Escondido. You won't point at bunching up just a little bit through Carmel Mountain Ranch, but then you're on your way. Westbound on the 56, also slowing now from Rancho Santa Fe Farms out to Carmel Valley Road. So check this out. This is pretty cool for us San Diegans. Travel and Leisure Magazine was ranking the top ten places to visit in the new year. And guess what the only U.S. destination on the list was? San Diego. And specifically...
downtown san diego and basically the write-up was about the new hard rock san diego which is so awesome to me and what if i were to say yeah you can be part owner of that i mean it's an amazing opportunity and kind of one that i still scratch my head and go how is this even possible you could be part owner of the hard rock san diego and basically you can own one of the suites there you can use it for yourself and if you will and if you do they will treat you like rock royalty. That's what they call it, man. And you get all the perks. You get front-of-line passes. You get VIP treatment. And it's basically like being treated like a rock star. And then the rest of the time of the year, you rent it out because people read that magazine and they go, oh, San Diego's that hot. I'm going there. And I'm going to stay at the Hard Rock. And I'm going to stay at your suite. And to me, that is just priceless. It's so awesome. It's a great investment opportunity. But I don't even... The investment part of it, that's awesome. But I don't even care about that. To me, it's just being part of the hottest scene in San Diego. That, to me, is just the coolest part. And I'm really looking into this because I want to be a part of rock royalty. And I want to be treated like a rock star in VIP status, man. It is cool. I'm going to Vegas this weekend. And I'm staying. Where else? The Hard Rock. And you can do that right here in San Diego. So it is definitely the hottest place in town. If you're interested, look it up. Hard Rock, downtown San Diego.
The Mikey Show. With another surprise call from Barbara. Eddie, are you there? Whoa, Barbara? How did you get through? All I'm trying to say to you guys is that you need to give Hillary a little bit more of a chance. Do you remember baby Jessica, the girl that fell in the well? Yeah. Hillary Clinton fed that little girl back. First of all, that is not true. That is not true. That is a lie. You notice that the media refuses to talk about how good Hillary was on Melrose Place. Melrose Place? She wasn't on Melrose Place. Back to Mikey on the Rock. Let me talk. Let me talk. Back, it is 7.30. Pauly Shore said in an interview that he would be a more successful comedian if he was black. The Red Sox head off to Japan after protesting yesterday. Is this true that the... What's her name? The Elvira chick from American Idol got eliminated last night? No way. Amanda Overmeyer. I know. It's kind of a shocker. Cut six. Christy, you are safe for another week. Oh, my God. Amanda leaves us tonight on American Idol. Wow. She's the girl that sang kind of in that...
Fannis Joplin. The other big shocker, and they do this every year, it's a very American Idol formula thing where they put one of the favorites in the bottom three to kind of make the public go, oh my gosh. So the girl from San Diego who's been killing it, they put her in the bottom three, which I don't believe she was really in the bottom three at all. A little bit later we're going to play that clip. Actually, let's play it right now. Cut to. You sang Blackbird. Simon wasn't too keen on the performance, as we know, last night. And after the vote, neither was America. They're in our bottom three tonight. People are booing. Eddie, now that's a bunch of BS, don't you think? They've been doing this since season one, and I just don't get it. I do not believe that Carly Smithson was in the bottom three. No chance in hell. She kills it every week. People love her, and there's just no possible way.
She is, man. She's too popular. She's from here. Works at the field. Irish restaurant. A little shepherd's pie. Some of the texts we're getting at 35253. Hey, Mikey, that James guy was awesome. Nice. You should save some clips of him to use on the show. That is right we should. Every once in a while when we play some really good clips from people, Sean will keep them when Ashley does Bombed at the Beach. We've got a ton from the people that she's talked to at Bombed at the Beach. Those are good ones. I think Rosie O'Donnell is from somebody that Ashley was talking to at Bombed at the Beach. Rosie O'Donnell. Rosie O'Donnell. And Justin Timberley, I think, was. Oh, yeah. I think he was one of the people that she talked to out there. And that was the fun. Justin Timberley.
Far out question. That's right. That was a far out question. That's probably the number one of all time most popular. That is a far out question. You guys not drunk at all. Nice. Next one says good morning. Wanted to tell y'all how great you are and give you a message from my husband. He's in Iraq until August. He loves you and says tough love is his favorite. He's my favorite. That's right. So maybe what we should do... Hey, Sky, this is for the troops. I'm sure they're going to love it. Don't hate the troops, man. Well, I don't. I just hate this segment. I think we should do it for the troops, though, Sky. Let's do it. If you've never heard Tough Love with Eddie before, Eddie is my best friend of 20 years. And if there's one thing I know about Eddie is that he doesn't mince his words. He doesn't placate you. It's part of my patriotic duty, Mike. What? Yeah. Not placate. That's weird. What he's saying is it's part of his patriotic duty to give it to you the way it is. Yeah, real good. When people write in for advice. So our first one says, Dear Oracle, I have a huge problem. Like Ashley, I have a problem with sweating. Not only under my armpits, but also the back of my knees, my butt, and my hands.
He says, if I am shopping in a... I think this is a female. Is it a female? Yeah, I'm looking down here and it is. It says, if I'm shopping in a matter of 30 minutes, my jeans show sweat marks around the knee area. Oh, that's really bad. I don't want to soak through jeans. If I sit down for a while, my butt gets sweaty. Not only do I have to wear jackets every day, I have to wear black... jeans. I'm the idiot who during the summer is the one in the 85 degree weather wearing a jacket and black jeans. Wow. No way. Eddie, I need your help. You are qualified to help me since you're a doctor. I'm not. That's a good point. That's a great point. Very good point. And I would love to hear it. Give it to me straight. What should I do? Signed, P1 Slavin from Carlsbad. Eddie?
Dear the pits of hell, I think I can sum up your problem with one word, actually. Yuck. That one works. Now, Ashley has a geyser under her arms, and apparently you have one below the waist. Are you sure you're not urinating? No. Now, again, I am not a doctor. But I do think I know what the problem is here. What is it? Well, Mikey, it's a medical condition, and it's called fat legs. Oh, wow. That's a medical term. Medical term. Condition. When you walk, does it smell like bacon burning? That's really rough. When you sit, does the other side of the bench raise completely in the air? Yeah.
That would be a problem. It's just in cartoons, actually. If you were to jog, would your upper torso arrive 20 minutes before your lower half? You got the fat legs. Here's my diagnosis. Hang around black dudes. What? Well, they love the junk in the trunk. That is true. That is true. How does that stop the sweating? Oh, I don't know. I'm just trying to help here. Our next letter reads... That was really... It was not. Our next letter reads, Dear Eddie, I heard you guys talking about Amy Winehouse and her skin condition. Oh, yeah. I also have a skin condition. It's called M. Patigo. Oh. It's on my face. I got it from a nail salon that was giving out free facials, and we think they weren't cleaning their towels properly. How you feeling, Sean? How you feeling, Sean? Eddie, since you're a doctor... Okay, I was not... I can't...
There's a misconception out there. I'm not a doctor. I just know a lot of stuff. Eddie, since you're a doctor, I was wondering if you could give me some tips on getting rid of it. Sincerely, P1 Janice from Fletcher Hills. Eddie? Dear the hottie and the spotty. All right. Again, I am not a doctor. But you're wearing a white lab coat. I realize that. That may throw you off, Mike. That's a fashion statement. I like to wear that during this segment. All right. Put a stethoscope around your neck. Just in case. You never know. I definitely don't know how to stop you from slowly turning into a lizard woman from the neck up. All right. Look, I am totally sympathetic to anyone whose face is slowly transforming into a braille page from War and Peace... Splattered with blood. Wow. To quote Hillary, it's not that easy. Oh, my. It's not. Wow. That's not easy and it's very personal. Now, I'm the last person that would want a woman to have a face of a Gila monster mauled by Nosferatu. Oh, all right. Wow. Wow. It makes me sad to think that you're turning into what medical dictionaries call
A cadaver head. Okay. Now Mike, that's a technical medical term. I don't know about that. I'm not making that up. It was actually in the latest New England Journal of Medicine. That's not true. Listen, it's on them. It's not on me because I didn't make up the term cadaver head. So my advice. You're telling me a medical journal. The New England Medical Journal of Medicine said that there is now something called cadaver head. It's your daver head. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. I got advice. My advice is... All right. Yeah, hold on to the undead head. All right. Your condition will soon go away. Probably. At least it's a possibility. I mean, maybe. These are not reassuring words. Now that I think about it, you're doomed. Okay. That's what I meant. Not reassuring. Not reassuring. You didn't help at all. Paragraph four. Okay. Our last letter. Oh, good. Come on, Eddie. Our last letter reads, Dear Eddie, I'm really upset with my older brother. The guy's been on me about money and I owe him. I've been between jobs lately and I will pay the guy back. But every day he hounds me for his money. We live together and it's getting uncomfortable. I mean, I'm his brother.
It's not like I'm going to skip off to Mexico or something. Eddie, do you have any advice on what I can do to get him to lay off? It's signed, P1 Brickhouse. Dear Boston Rob's brother, Big Al Kahuna. Eddie, talk about it. I think it's time, Rob. Talk about it. That could have been written by him. Wow. It is written by him. I think it's him. Listen, Al, your brother is as poor as you are. Yes. He has no money to lend out. Thank you. When he does lend you some dough, you got to pay him back. Thank you. Or he'll be eating gum from the underside of the seats at the Greyhound station just for nourishment. It's not fun. I've done it. It's disgusting. I mean, listen. I know you Stevens boys aren't the best at saving money. But maybe if you two will stop getting those sweet throat tattoos. It's so hard to resist already. It's so hard to resist. And maybe start buying, oh, I don't know, food? That's a crazy idea. You two will stop bickering so much. It's called low blood sugar. I have it. I have it. So big El Kahuna. Here's the deal.
We don't really know. Put down the Xbox controller and hit the pavement and get a job and pay your brother back. Thank you. So then he can pay me back the money he owes me. And then we'll all live happily ever after. That's really good advice. Well, that last one was for me. I like it. Oh, Skye, there she is. There she is. There's no one there. For the troops, do you hear it coming up Mission Center Road? What's up? It's the sound of healing. You're welcome, America. Back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I picked my nose a lot. Eddie. I once played chicken and squirrel. I was Prudy McPrude for quite a while. I thought you lost your virginity at like 12. Sean. Very fair when it comes to tipping. Everybody enjoys a good thumbs up once in a while. That's right. I'm a very messy person. The Mikey Show's on. 5-3. Joe, it is 7-51. Documents released yesterday show that Hillary Clinton was in the White House during most of the times that Bill was hooking up with Monica Lewinsky. While this did not go well, SDSU's season is officially over. The Aztecs were clearly outmatched by Florida getting killed 73-49 in the NIT's first round. It went well. No, it didn't. Our text is 35253. This text says, hey, Mikey...
Today is my birthday, and I just want to say thank you to Eddie for keeping it real. This tough love is the best. Love you guys. Signed P1, babe. Hey, babe. There you go. I wonder if that's my wife then. That's her name. That's what you call her. That's what I call her. Rob, by the way, does not call his girlfriend babe. Or his fiancee. Shallow. Shallow? How's that? It is. How is it, Shallow? I think that Rob does not like to do what people do. That's your theory. No, that is clear. Well, like he won't like American Idol because it's the number one show in America. He hates Fergie. Hold on, hold on. He hates Fergie because the world loves Fergie. Fergie's a gremlin. She lives under a bridge. See what I mean? You get water on her and she multiplies. Exactly. American Idol.
Did you guys watch it last night? I watched the beginning, and I couldn't watch any more when they're all singing and dancing together. Dude, it's the gayest thing. I can't get into that. I can't. I tried. I tried so hard. Easy, babe. Don't call me babe. Babe is shallow. What, are you a Hollywood producer? Are we going to meet up for lunch later? Don't call me babe. How is it shallow? I don't understand. He's using the wrong word. Okay. No, I'm not. Shallow and pedantric, Mike. Well said. Can't argue him there. Exactly. I think that what he means is, you know, especially when he uses that term Hollywood, you know, like he thinks it's very like clicking your fingers and pointing and going, hey, babe. Snapping at me. Yeah. Winking like, no, no. But it's all in how you use it. Well, sure. I mean, it's just the word. Just say it. Say it once to yourself. Babe. Isn't it one of those words that has double meaning? I would think it does. Yeah. Probably multiple. Sure.
So I assume your girlfriend doesn't call you babe? Nope. We fixed that problem. What do you mean you fixed it? Well, she would sprinkle it in occasionally. Oh, no. Oh, gosh. Oh, man. And I let it go on for, I don't know, a month or two. And then you corrected her? Oh, yeah. Oh. Wow. You got it. What did you say? It was as if she was cussing at me every time. Oh, jeez. And it was like, oh, no, no, no. It's a term of effect. Affection. No, it's not a term of endearment. And you're going to scold her for that? No, it is not, though. That's the misconception in America. It's a misconception that babe means something sweet? Yeah, ever since Hollywood took that term, and it's just, I don't know any other words besides Charlotte. You really are a clown. No, I'm not a clown. So what do you call? Babe is, oh, no, baby girl. Babe, I'm leaving. That's affectionate. Yes, it shows love. It's endearing. What do you mean, Ashley? I'm kind of the same way. I don't use babe, and I think babe is... I agree. I think it's not necessarily what I would call... I don't call my boyfriend babe. Stop being so flashy. Right. I don't know it either. You know, I think that my relationship with my wife is the first time that I've used babe. Really? It's because she called me babe, but I never used it. You got sucked in.
I got checked in, but I don't have a problem with it. There's still time to turn that train around, Mike. That is really strange. But see, I've heard you and your wife use it, and it sounds totally normal. Yeah, because I've been doing it. It's like how you guys do your thing, you know? Let's play Babe. Oh, no. The reason. There's a whole song about it. There's a whole song about Babe I Love You. Somebody shared a song about it, too. Doesn't mean it's correct. I tend to disagree. No, I disagree with your disagreement. Eddie, what do you call your wife? I say Babe. You say Babe. Oh, wow. Two against two. I say babe. What do you say, Skye? Yeah, babe is one of the top handful. And, of course, boo. Yeah, babe, boo, bunny. We're getting out of numbers, Robbie. Wait a minute. Now, you don't use one. Because I use two almost exclusively. Either babe or hun. Yep. Exclusively. I don't think I ever call her anything outside of that. So, Skye, you don't use one more than the other. Yeah, I got babe, bunny, boo, and love. And you use them equally? Yeah, I guess so. Hey, love, what are you doing over there? Hey, babe, what's up? Sean, what about you, sweet? What do you... Sweet. Sweet, Todd? Sweet.
Sean with his wife. I would never use babe. It's too white trash for me. There we go. That's another thing. You feel like it's white trash? It is. Very much so. I guess we live in a trailer. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now, Sean, why don't you tell everybody about... Wow. No, don't look at me like yes, Mike. What should I tell everybody about? I'm waiting intently. Why don't you tell everybody about how you and your lovely wife call each other, uh, sweet. Sweet. Sweet. Well, what is there left to say, Mike? Well, you can explain it. You can explain it. You can explain what it's about. It doesn't make any sense. Well, it's a shortened version of Sweetheart. Aww. I like it. Is this what you... Thank you, Rob. Wouldn't it be Sweetheart? Are you Sweetheart? Were you Sweetie as well? What do you use the most? You're just so busy, you have to cut out the tea. Well, they're not white trash, Eddie. They have a lot going on. The stocks and the bonds. Mostly, I just call her Miss McCutes. Okay, wait. Is that true? Hold the hell on. Wait, is that true? That's the thing that Ashley sleeps with, right? Yeah. Doesn't she sleep with Kitty Miss McCutes? It's Kitty McMute. Kitty McMute. Oh, close. Sean, what do you use the most? I probably use Petey the most. What?
What? Petey? I have like a thousand names for her. You guys, that means he talks baby talk to her. Petey? Yes, you do. Petey is like saying sweetie, but it's saying it like... Petey. Petey. Hey, Petey. It's kind of like baby talk, isn't it? Aren't we discovering something right now? If you want to classify it like that, go right ahead. We don't really do baby talk, though. Sean, why don't you give us an example of how you call her Petey? Let's know how it would sound. How would you do it? I'll say, for example, call her on the phone. I'll say, hey, Petey, what are you doing? Just like that. That is 100% baby talk. You see, when a child before is able to say the word sweetie, you know, like, for instance, I wasn't able to say... It's a permutation, Mike. You can put it any way you want, buddy. But before a baby knows how to say sweetie, he says Petey. Hey, Petey. That's adorable, Sean. That's very cute, Sean. Very. I'm glad I shared. That's the petest thing I've ever heard. It's the petest thing ever. 5701053. Because what I want to know from you is, do you being called nicknames? P1s, what's your take on these nicknames? 5701053. Are you like Rob? You hate it? Hate it. Don't like to call your significant other anything but whatever you call him. I would think, though, that we all...
If we're in a relationship, we all have a nickname. Yeah. I can't imagine that there are people that are listening that call their significant other exclusively by their name and that's it. No, that's weird. Like when my wife says my actual name, it's weird. Right, me too. I agree. Like I know I'm in trouble. Yeah. Something's going down. Yeah. For me, the only time that I will ever say my wife's name is if I've gotten to a point in our conversation where I've become so frustrated. Yeah. that I need to let her know that what I'm about to say is so exclusively meant for her that even though no one else is in the room, I need you to know that I'm speaking to you, and it sounds like this. Rebecca? Oh, no. That's not a good tone. And that's it. It's Rebecca, comma. There's usually a pause. She says something. There's a long pause, and then, Rebecca? That's the way it starts. So when she hears that, she knows, uh-oh, we're not having a good time. 5701053, we're talking about nicknames that you have for your significant other. P1 Westboy. Hey, yeah, Mike, you know what I hate about the little nicknames? What? My girlfriend, she would call me Babe, and I had to correct her, too, because I used to hang out with her before we started dating, and she used to call her ex-boyfriend Babe as well. Awkward. Awkward. Not cool. Forget it. Not cool. No way in the world would I let that continue. Yeah, you know? But see, I got to think.
The only thing with me is I've never heard my wife call anyone else babe. I'm sure she did. No, she didn't. No way. I'm sure she did. It's exclusive to you. I mean, I'm sure she did. You're bad. Well, I'm sure we all did. You don't know. I'm sure we all did. No, I never did. Oh, you're sad. Sorry, Mike. Love the show. Thank you. Please. Please. He says, I'm getting out of this. Hey, listen. Thanks for the show. See ya. P1 detail. What up? What do you call your girl? Yobo. Yobo. Huh? Yobo. It's like, uh, you remember Lost, the two Korean couples? Yes, Sun and, uh, Jin. Jin. And Jin. Yobo is Korean for babe. Really? So that's what, so that, do they say that, Sun and Jin? Do they say that to each other? All the time, you'll hear them like, uh, Yobo, Yobo, you know, Yobo, Yobo. That's cool. Oh, wow. I didn't know that. That's cool. No, Sean, is it white trash if you say it in Korean? Ah. Good question.
Now maybe it's Korean trash. It doesn't feel like it. It's not Korean trash, is it? I don't think so. Okay. Maybe we can do it. Maybe we'll switch to Yobo. My dad has called my mom something for years and my mom hates it. And I've asked him multiple times to never call her that. And he refuses. He just keeps calling her that. Is it an exclusive nickname or an every once in a while nickname? It's an exclusive nickname. What is it? Honey Pot. Honey Pot. And she hates it because it reminds her of Winnie the Pooh. And she thinks she's calling her fat. Oh, my God. She hates it. And it's exclusive. Only calls her honeypot. And she hates it. Now, it's because of the implication in her mind that it could mean fat, right? I think so. Now, I wonder if that's anything like the nickname that my dad used to have for my mom, which was WW.
WW? WW. And all growing up, I remember WW. That's how he referred to my mom. Not babe, not any of that. It was just WW. And he still, every once in a while, he'll say WW. And it was always in the most loving... It was as if he was saying, my beautiful bride. What the heck does this mean? They've been married 50 years, my mom and dad. I mean, you talk about in love. They still hold hands. They are in love. WW stood for... something that at the time my mom was experimenting with that my dad thought was goofy. And it was called Weight Watchers. It was new. It was new. It was new at the time. And it was called Weight Watchers. And my dad thought that this whole thing was very funny, that she was doing this goofy thing where you get together with people and you keep these little scores. And my dad thought that was the funniest thing ever. And he called her WW. That's crazy. But yeah, that's got an implication there, doesn't it? 5701053 is our phone number. Our text is 35253. Here's some of the texts we're getting. Mikey, I totally agree with B-Rob. I put the kibosh on babe with my boyfriend right away. It's the worst. What the heck? Almost everyone called their ex.
babe. So it's not even special. I think she's got a point. I never even thought of that. She's got a point. Every time your significant other calls you babe, just remember you're about the fifth guy. No. This next one says, babe is totally normal. I use it all the time. That's P1 Scott. There's another one agreeing with B-Rob. I think babe is substanceless. And Shallow. It is. Shallow. Yeah. Right? Yeah, exactly. A lot of changes, people. Rise up. Hey, hothead. Rise up. The next one is from a female, which she's quick to point out because she says, Bunny? That one even weirds me out. Oh, it is. What? It's sweet. No, it is not. It's sweet. Next one says, Hey, Mikey. You know what is not white trash at all? Having a tattoo on your neck. That's a good point. Classy all the way, signed P1 Elitist. Rise up. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, eh? Yeah. P1 Colleen asks. Whatever, babe. What about the term darling? What is this, the South in 1939? Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Jerk. This one says, I call my boyfriend as a pet named Pillow Pants.
I like it. And he calls me Lovebug. Oh, that reminds me. I do call my wife something. Every once in a while, I call her. Every once in a while, I call Rebecca Lovebird. Aw, that's neat. I don't know why I do that. Mikey, don't you use your full name in a crowd and they're not right next to you, such as a party? Don't you use their full name in a crowd when you're at a party? No, I never say to my wife, Rebecca Esparza. Well, the legal name. I do that in Home Depot. That's like the only time I use my husband's real name because he's like ignoring me and there's people everywhere and I shout out his real name. Just his first name? Yeah. Mikey, this is P1 Working Mom. I think when people say babe, they're trying too hard and they just want people around to hear so they will appear loving. Mike, is that what you're doing, Mike? Don't you only do it at home. home, mostly. Well, he has a tape recorder. Yeah, plus I know neighbors may be listening. Submits it to YouTube. That's right. Says Han is more affectionate than Babe. Yeah, it is. Well, call us. 570-1053. I would really like to get the P1's take on this. Let's see. P1, Lindsay is on the line. Lindsay Liu. Yes. Go ahead. He and my husband used to meow to each other. Wait a minute. You and your husband what to each other? Say meow like some super troopers. I think it's where we put it.
Wait a minute. You say meow. Oh, that's so funny. That is so funny. You have to watch the movie. What's the deal? Well, so they're cops, but they like to mess around and, you know, goof off and cause trouble or whatever. So one time they had a challenge. How many times you can meow while issuing a ticket? So funny. Yeah. So you were speeding meow. You know, keep doing that. So let me ask you, Lindsay Lou. Uh-huh. Does he call you that in front of other men? Oh, yeah. All the time. Wow. Nice. That guy's got confidence. Meow. It's like second intro. Like, we just, hey, meow. Let me meow. You know. Aw. There you go. Love it. P1 Jeremy has a very specific opinion about Babe. He says it's usable, but only during certain times. Is that right, Jeremy? That's right. Go ahead. When is Babe okay? Look, here's an authoritative word on Babe. Got it. You can say babe once you're married, but nothing disgusts me more than seeing somebody, some 18-year-old with their girlfriend calling them babe when they might not even be with them in two weeks. Babe is a comfortable, loving way to refer to somebody, but sorry, before you're married, babe is not appropriate. So you're saying, Jeremy, that a certain degree of intimacy has to occur.
Before you should be calling somebody babe. And if you do call them babe before a certain level of love has been achieved, then you are kind of superficial. Absolutely. That's why these people call their girlfriend babe or their boyfriend babe. Five, six different girlfriends. You gotta wait. Thank you. Eddie, how would you have felt if your... At the time, girlfriend, it's now your wife, but how would you have felt if she would have called you something very, very specific that you've never heard a girl call a guy, you know, maybe? What if she called you daddy? Hey, daddy. That's creepy, right? Because we're getting some examples of some very strange ones. Hey, Mikey, just called my girl sweet, like Sean. She said, that's the gayest thing I've ever heard. It's from P1Evo. Mikey, I never use my girlfriend's name. It's always nicknames like Pumpkin, Sweetie, Baby, and Babe. It's from P1D. P1Erica. Yeah. What do you call your dude? Call him Bubba. Bubba. Bubba. It's like a takeoff baby, except I don't want to say baby. I just want to say, hi, Bubba, how are you? Oh, don't do that. And that's the way you say it. Wow. You're like, hey, Bubba, what's up?
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. That made me angry. Oh, I love it. Yesterday we played you some audio from Bulgarian Idol. Yeah. It was Michael Jackson that we played yesterday. Wow. Tomorrow we're having a P1 party and we'd love to meet you. It's going to be a K1 Speed in Carlsbad, a really, really fun place where they race those little go-karts and it's all indoors, which is so cool. Like when I first pictured it, I hadn't been there yet. I pictured all this outdoors for some reason. And it's really neat when you get there. It's inside of this gigantic warehouse and it is so decked out in there. It's really, really cool. And so we're going to be at K1 Speed.
And we would love to see you out there tomorrow, 5 to 7. Everybody's welcome. Everyone is welcome to come to this. And Park Place Liquor and Deli is going to be out there selling those delicious sandwiches. And while we're there, from 5 to 7, just hanging out and meeting up with the P1s, they're going to be offering a very cool special for people to get out there on the racetrack and do 12 laps for only $15. So it's a lunch race special that they're doing just now. for us and the P1s. So come on out. Our big P1 party tomorrow at K1 Speed in Carlsbad. Now, I told you about this yesterday. American Idol is a very popular show, but a lot of countries have sort of done their own versions of American Idol. Yesterday, we played you a clip from Bulgarian Idol, and it was somebody doing Michael Jackson. Today, We have a new one. It's Bulgarian Idol, and someone's singing Mariah Carey. Uh-oh. Cut 10. Uh-oh.
I wonder if she made it to... Hollywood? Yeah. I don't know any cities in Bulgaria. Bollywood? Yeah. And finally, we were talking about this too. Gary Busey on the red carpet at the Oscars very inappropriately came up to Jennifer Gardner and kissed her on the neck. And he has, in fact, apologized for his behavior. Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. Now, in this clip, I believe he is also apologizing to an 11-year-old reporter. Cut 17. Apologize to Jennifer. Apologize to Ben. Apologize to Ryan. But the Oscar night antics didn't end there. Busey got hostile with an 11-year-old reporter from starslife.com at an Oscar after party. Oh, no. I don't know.
I would love to meet her again and have an interview with her and pay attention to her and give her my heart. That sounds really sweet. And genuine. Yeah, give me a break, dude. I didn't hear about that. What was that all about? He talked to some 11-year-old reporter and got rude? Yeah, I think that's what that little clip was. You know, the 11-year-old was like, you want to give a shout-out to anybody? And he was like, I don't give shout-outs. Oh, wow. Take it easy, bro. Kid, man. Just a little kid. The NCAA tournament kicks off in 40 minutes. Oh, God. Eddie, the next commercial break, you've got to... I want to fill out brackets. We've got to do that. Oh. I know I haven't done it yet. What is... I know. You've got time. I know. I've got to follow it. Good luck. I already got it locked up, dude. No, you do not. You were so ridiculous. Worst picks ever. Are we allowed to talk about her? Yeah. She doesn't matter with her. Gosh. Sky.
Oh, it was infuriating. Can you give us your final four? No, if I can tell you who I'd like to go all the way. Who's going to win the tournament? Winthrop. Okay. Winthrop. Winthrop. Why Winthrop? Well, because it reminds me of the character from Trading Places. I see. And I love that movie. Can I ask you? Because I don't know anything about college basketball. He gets kicked out and then Eddie Murphy takes over his life. He's like, oh, I got to live with a hooker because I don't know. I lost my life and I have no money and they closed my bank account. Eddie, how far will Winthrop make it? I'll probably lose today. Today. Today in the first round. Well, they're a 13 seed. 13 seed. 13. All the way. But she loved the name. I love that movie. But the movie is so good. One of her other teams that went really far is the team Sienna, who I believe is a 15th seed. It's a beautiful name. She liked the name for a girl, and so they went real far in the tournament. There you go. So she has them going a long, long way. Long way. She also picked, let me just explain something.
number one seed has never in the history of the tournament lost to a 16 seed. Uh-huh. It's never happened. Yeah. Until this year. Sky really liked Portland State to beat North Carolina. Oh, wow. Or no, not North Carolina. It was another team. So beautiful in Portland. It was a one seed. I think it was Kansas. Is that why you chose them, Sky? She likes Portland, and so... Thank you. Now, Eddie, here's my question, though. She couldn't have gone this crazy last year, right? It was a little bit more streamlined last year. Yesterday, she was all over the map and did not really care. It was really annoying. Yeah, anything that has a mascot of a cat or a tiger is definitely going to go far. She really loves cats. She would ask me, well, who are these... Guys. And I say, well, that's the Wildcats. And she goes, oh, that's my team. Yep. Duke's still out this year. No way. She still considers them rapists. So we've got a lot going on, Mike. So good luck to you, sir. So, Skye, let me ask you about this. What is this news about the number of sex offenders registering as homeless people? So, you know, Jessica's Law, which went into effect saying, you know, that registered sex offenders, convicted sex offenders.
cannot live so close to parks and schools and stuff like that. Well, because of that, I guess it's kind of become hard for homeless people to find a place to live because lots of neighborhoods have schools and parks and stuff like that. So they say here in San Diego... What did I say? You said homeless people are having a hard time? Sex offenders are having a hard time. Sorry, and they're becoming homeless people. Sorry about that. So they're saying the San Diego police sergeant said that the number of sex offenders who are now registered as homeless jumped 40%. since last year since this jessica's law went into effect and you know i was watching on the news i think it was a couple months ago i believe it was a neighborhood of people in spring valley who were very upset because their neighborhood just happens to be not close to schools and parks and whatever so they have a lot of sex offenders moving into their neighborhood just because it's one of the few locations where sex offenders say that it's legal for them to live well see i had a
a whole other thought of why maybe this was happening. And this could be totally wrong. And if it is, tell me. But the other thought that I had was, I wonder if these guys, when they put that they are not homeless and they put, yeah, I have a home and here's my address. When you do that, that becomes public knowledge. It has to become public knowledge. And so people know that they're sex offenders and they may be harassed. I'll give you a, for instance, You can go and log on to your computer right now and find out where sex offenders live in your area. Not only can you find out where they live, but there's a picture of them. And we got an email that said that there was a woman that is in my wife's play group. And she said that she had her kid and that she was at a place in Carlsbad and that it was a toy store.
And next door to the toy store is like a coffee shop and stuff like that. So they have tables set out out there. My wife got this email from the friend in the play group that said that her and her little boy were playing around and her little boy was running chasing after birds in front of the coffee shop. And this guy started to talk to her and ask her, hey, how old is your kid? Because I got a nephew that's very close in age. And she said she told him and they got into a talk about it. It kept hitting her that that guy looked familiar. And it was because she saw that he was a registered sex offender and was living in the neighborhood. And this guy is living close to us. And so I told my wife, forward me that email. And so she did. And on the email is a link to this guy. And so I pulled up the picture of him on my cell phone.
And I went down to the toy store and I walked in and I said, have you seen this guy? And he said, I haven't seen him, but there's a picture of him up right now in the back for our employees. So if they see him, they can call security and let them know that he's loitering or whatever he's doing. But the problem is he's just sitting. He's not doing anything wrong. He's having a cup of coffee. But he happens to be having this cup of coffee right around the time that kids are getting out of school. And stuff like that. Now, I'm going to tell you, if I see him, this is my plan. If I see him, I'm going to confront him. But I'm going to do it in a way that I think is, you tell me what you think of this. But my plan is, is that if I see him, I'm going to say, introduce myself, say hello, be very kind and polite. And I'm going to say, listen, I understand that you may be here just having a cup of coffee.
But I want to let you know that your photograph comes up on a website for registered sex offenders. And so because there's a lot of children here, that may be a little concerning for you. It may concern you because there's children here. And, you know, I wouldn't want for people to take that the wrong way since there's children here. Just see how that goes. Because I'll tell you what happens. Immediately as a parent, you have fear of this. The instant reaction is fear. And I've told you that my feeling is that anger is hurt, sadness, and fear. When she told me, I was so mad. I was so mad that it was like my fists were clenching. That how dare this guy be hanging out. That was my reaction to it. And so I think that the number one thing is that people need to be aware. And you guys think I'm totally off on that thought that maybe they're putting homeless because they don't want exactly what we're talking about. If they put homeless, they don't have an address and people can't be looking them up in their neighborhoods and finding them. Is that a possibility? Like this guy I'm talking about right now. What if he had put that he was homeless? Right. And I totally get what you're saying. But this jump, this statistical jump is recent. And the Megan's Law website has been around longer than that. And then plus, even if they figuring it out.
even if they are registered as homeless, they give a location of where they live, where they sleep at night. Right. And they, and they come in and they check on, they check on them. You know, they do like checkups on them. So they, they need to be there. Okay. Now that sounds, that sounds awesome. If they're putting, I'm homeless and I live in this area. Right. You'll find me at this corner. But, but walk me through this process. Let's say I say to the police department, I live in this area. If they go there and they don't see me, that's easy. I wasn't there that day. I was out shopping. I was out getting... They also have the GPS locators now. Are they on every registered sex offender? I was watching it on the news last night, and they were talking about the additional cost and strain it puts on the system, but I didn't read... I mean, they didn't talk about if 100% of the sex offenders have those or not, so I'm not sure, but... P1... Interesting. P1 E-Man, are you there? Yes, sir. Go ahead. I just wanted to bring up the point. My buddy, he got a sex offense because he was urinating outside and there were kids around, and he wasn't trying to show himself. Let me tell you, though, bro. Let me tell you. On this website, it says exactly what they've done. Oh, okay. It says exactly what they've done, and I'll... Hang on a minute. I think I have it, and I can tell you what this website is. You can put it in there. It's...
It is. It's www.meganslaw.ca.gov. Yeah, and it's a great tool if you're planning on moving into a new neighborhood that you're not familiar with. Check that out first, especially if you have kids. I just wanted to bring out the point that not every sex offender is a child molester. No, dude, but you want to know something? Doesn't that guy look like every normal guy you've ever seen? Yeah, Mike's showing us a picture of the guy. Looks like an actor, doesn't he? He does. Yeah, but the thing is, bro, is that when you go on this website, it tells people what they did. Yeah, it'll say forcible rape or indecent exposure. Exactly. It'll say those things. If your friend was urinating outside and he got labeled a sex offender, it's going to say urinating in public. Okay, that's cool. I just don't want him to be thrown in with child molester when he's gone. Well, let me ask you something. When your friend told you this, did he say, yeah, man, it's really unfair because now I'm a sex offender and blah, blah, blah? Or are you just sort of saying that because you're concerned? Well, I was just bringing it up because I know that, you know, that it happened to him. And he was, we were a little, you know, I wasn't there, but him and a couple other friends were drinking. You don't have to tell me, hey, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. Stop. Hey.
Can you hear me? Yeah. I don't need to know how he was doing this, bro. You don't have to tell me that. But if I were you, E-Man, I would go to that website. That's creepy. If I were you, I would go to that website and I would type your friend's name in there and just make sure that what he's telling you is everything. I got you. Make sure he's telling you everything. I got you. You got kids? Yes, a young boy. How old? He's 14 months. Go into that website and see if your friend is maybe not telling you about something. That's a wise call. Thank you. Thank you. One more time, I'm going to give this website. Did you just check it out, Ashley? Is that why you're freaking out? Yeah. They give you everything. It's scary when you see your neighborhood with all these red dots around it. Absolutely it is. Address, that's nuts. dot c a dot gov gov but yeah i mean the guy that we're talking about here he looks like an he doesn't look like a creep no he looks like like a banker he does he looks like a lawyer or a banker and this woman was you know that knows rebecca saw this guy and he's asking questions about her kid so unfortunately we have to know that the these people are out there and you got to do what you can do to
Protect your kids when you, you know, you got to do what you can do to protect your kids. P1 Anonymous. P1 Anonymous, that's me. Go ahead, man. She was saying about the GPS. Right. It's only if they're on probation or parole and for violent sex offenders only, and it's on very few of them. Violent, okay. For the most part, violent sex offenders. They've had it on other people for tests. But it's on very few people. This guy that I just showed you, it says what he did. He's not a violent sex offender. He's not going to have GPS. Okay. Now, if he doesn't have GPS, he could have done a thing where he said, I'm homeless. I don't know. I don't know. We're having the conversation, so we're talking about it because I don't know. But I'm saying to myself, if these guys have lived a certain place... for a certain amount of time and they're online and people know their address because it gives his actual address. Exactly. Okay? If that's the deal, I'm sure he's had people spray paint or whatever, do stuff. Who knows? Who knows? And so now, when he moves, it's the law, he's got to register or he's in trouble. If there's an option for him to put homeless and he can,
And then say when the cops come around and go, hey, you put on here that you live in this area. We haven't seen you around. Well, you haven't seen me, but I'm there. I don't know if it's more than that. And maybe there's somebody listening that does know about this. Call us at 570-1053. It's a very important thing. Let's do this. We'll take a quick break. Movie theater back in my hometown. And sometimes big companies would hire a ticket counter. And this guy was sitting out at like kid movies, like Shrek and stuff, counting how many kids would go into the movies. And we looked it up. He was a registered sex offender. But we were told.
Not to say anything because he could press charges. If they feel that you're like violated their space or anything like that, I guess they can press charges because to society they've paid their dues. So you cannot just go up to them and harass them. In a lot of trouble. So I guess that's what I'm saying. Like you have to be really careful. I wonder if what I was suggesting is too much. I guess it would be up to him. Yeah, it's completely up to him. It would be up to him to kind of discern whether or not he feels that I was harassing him or if I said something that was very, I don't know. I'd probably be pretty sensitive about it. Yeah, and that's why I would never approach, you know, just call the police. You know, that's what they're there to deal with. You don't know if this guy is crazy. You know, he could, you know, you don't know what's going on in that noggin. It's not worth it.
The place that we are talking about specifically has security. They have security. And so the place that I went into and showed them his picture, their employees are told to call security. So maybe that's what I would do. I'd go in there and I'd say, hey, that guy you're looking for is out there. Do you guys want to call security? Good idea. I guess the reason that I said what I said, one thing that you're hearing is fear, hurt. Get out of here. You know, my instant reaction was, I want to go tell that guy to get out of there. You know, this guy's right. What you should do is be telling the people to call security. It's the right thing to do. P1 Bonita? This is P1 Bonita. Go ahead. I just wanted to let you know that, you know, there is a flip side to this. My sister attended the school here locally, and the teacher had instructed them on how to find this website.
and encourage them to look up their neighborhood so that they know. Well, it turns out my father is an offender and is on the website. So immediately they pull up that address and his picture. Everyone in the classroom who knew her knows what my father looks like, and they all turn to her. And, you know, they all talk amongst themselves, and my sister just felt victimized. I mean, that was one part of it. I agree with the website. So I know what it's doing and I think it's very important. But there were certain ways to go about it. And what they've done now is at that school, and I think other schools in that district, is they've blocked that website so they can no longer access it from the school. Do you feel that the website is warranted or not warranted? It is warranted. I mean, I see the need for it. I know families need to protect themselves. This had happened 30 years ago. Since then, my father raised me, put me through college, raised my younger sister, put her through college, raised his grandkids when my older sister was unable to. He's done a lot for the family. He's done a lot to basically, you know, put things behind him, acknowledge what he did, and kind of work forward from there. But it seems like over time, we're getting moved into a different direction as we get things like GPS, I mean, a GPS device put on
on him would be somewhat hard for our family. It's hard to know that neighbors can look it up and see what he's done. But again, that's part of protecting yourself. There's just certain venues and ways to go about things. Let's say it weren't this. What would be another venue or way to go about it? Well, for instance, talking about it in PTA meetings or something to that effect. Now, just to offer this as a sort of a response is if they did it at a PTA meeting, the same thing would happen, wouldn't it? I mean, in other words, if they... But you wouldn't have a 12-year-old kid now pointing at someone or their classmates and, you know, thinking that she's been abused when that wasn't even the case. Okay, now hang on a minute. Now, are you sure that you wouldn't have that? Because are you sure that the moms wouldn't go home from the PTA meetings and say, guess who... That would be the parents. you know responsibility that parents uh because if i were a parent and i saw your dad on the website and my kid went to school with you know your sister i'd be like yeah you you're not allowed to go over and play at that house and i mean to me that's how the website should work but that you get the same effect
You would get the same effect because then my kid would go to school and be like, you know what my mom said yesterday? And then people would start pointing and whispering. So I think any way you go about it, you're going to get the same effect. And to me, I'm sorry, you can't blame the website. You've got to blame your dad for making a huge mistake. I'm not even blaming the website. What I'm saying is when you have a teacher telling a group of 12-year-old kids to look it up. Yeah, again, you can't blame the teacher. Yeah, yeah, yeah. See, you know, I'm having a tough time because I'm thinking to myself. It's tough because you don't want your kids to go over to your dad's. You don't, sir. You don't. I mean, would you agree with that or disagree with that? Well, I'm not a parent. If I were, yeah, I probably would not allow my kids over there. But it would be something that the parents should be proactive about looking up a website and taking it from there. A lot of people don't know about that website.
P1 Bonita. A lot of people don't know, and what I'm hearing is, is I'm hearing you say, the teacher shouldn't have done this, and the teacher, and there's a part of me that's going, man, those kids, yeah, they're whispering, yeah, they're doing their thing, but they also know who to avoid, and I think that's safe. Do you see what he's saying? Go ahead. Hang on. Hang on, Benita. Go ahead, Ash. I want to hear the other side. What I think he's saying is, especially in this situation where there are 12-year-old kids, and you know when you're 12. I mean, that's a tough, tough age, right? A lot of judgment, a lot of what's cool, what's not cool. There's a lot of that at 37, too. Yeah, but for sure 12. That's an age where you're growing up puberty, whatever. You asked me it doesn't change much. I don't know. But regardless, I think that that's an age where the kids are smart enough that they can be pretty mean. sister of his um got humiliated and whatnot it probably affected her in a really really really bad way so how can we change this ash uh i just i think he's saying that he would have preferred the teacher not to be like okay entire class like let's all search and then it just made everyone point and laugh how should they how should they do it instead and aren't we blaming suggesting aren't we blaming the teacher aren't we pointing aren't we doing what i was talking about yesterday
There's a problem with accountability, and people want to point the finger at it's your fault. It's your fault. It's your fault. But it's not the little girl's fault, and she's going to have to deal with it every day now. It's not her fault. Hang on a second. It's not her fault. No doubt about it. However, it's another thing that the father is, I guess, going to have to go. This is another way that I've hurt people. For sure. But what are the chances that that class of 12-year-olds went home and told their parents as opposed to the teacher having a meeting with the parents separately and saying, listen, parents, I want to let you know what's up with your kid. Sky made the point. that if Skye were one of those parents and the teacher went aside and Skye was a parent, and the teacher pulled Skye aside and said, here is something I want to point you in to be safe. As soon as Skye found that out, she's going to her kid and saying to her kid, I just want to finish this, don't go near this guy's house. Now that kid, who potentially could be a little gossiper and a little mean person, probably would, she says, is going to take, it's the same effect.
I think it's a different effect, as opposed to the entire class, all at once, seeing the picture and going, ah, ha, ha, to the kid, as opposed to the parents having separate conversations. But my kid would tell everybody. Yeah, so would my kid. Well, and if the rumor mill gets around and the kid starts to get picked on, I think that's, like, it would still suck, but it wouldn't be, like, all eyes on the sister, and, I mean, how humiliating, you know? And then she probably feels like it's her fault or whatever, who knows, but I kind of see where this guy on the phone's saying. That kid is going to be made fun of. Right, but it's not her fault that her father was a sex offender. And no one is saying that. I think Ashley, everyone agrees that that kid doesn't deserve that, but we can't blame the teacher. We need to blame the dad because he's the one who did it. But he's not saying that the teacher is to blame. He's saying the teacher should have maybe gone about it in a different way. Maybe approach the parents in a mean... We can't spend too much time. What are the 12-year-olds going to do? It's totally okay for you to have this opinion, but I just want listeners to hear the two sides very clearly. Right. One side is don't, as a teacher, tell a whole class of students to go to a website and to look up registered sex offenders. That's one side. Collaboratively. Instead, what you should do is... Thank you, Eddie. You should take your list of all the students' phone numbers and call their parents separately.
Talk to their parents. Oh, you shouldn't do that. No, have like a meeting with the parents. Okay, okay, perfect. What you should do instead is you should have a meeting with the parents. I think this is a parent issue. Okay, so let's gather all the parents together in a classroom. Let's gather them all together, call them in. What you're going to say to the parents is, hey guys, I think this is a very important topic and I just want to let you guys know that there's a website called Megan's Law. and you should go to it and check for registered sex offenders. And the parents go, thank you, that's a really good idea. So what they do is they go home, and they type it into their browser, and they find that there is a student in that classroom with their child whose father is a registered sex offender. And so what they do is, they all do it at the same time, by the way, Ashley. They've just had the meeting. They're all going home and doing it at the same time. I'll tell you what no parent's going to do. No parent's going to hear that website and go, I'll do it when I get to it. They're going home that night. Okay, so they all go home at the same time. They all find that one of the kids in that class, his father, is a registered sex offender. So they pull their kid over that second and they go, hey, that girl, Tanya, in your class, her dad's a registered sex offender and I do not want you going around him.
Depending on what kind of person Tanya is, I'll tell you who no 12-year-old is. I'm going to keep this to myself. And I never said that. Okay. So what I'm saying is I believe that those kids are all collaboratively finding out that Tuesday night. Boom. They're letting everybody know. So either way, Tanya is going to get your dad's a registered sex offender. and judge and pick on the kid all they want, but it's not like the teacher's going, hey, students, look it up right here. Oh, what? The parent's the sex offender? Oh my gosh, everyone, all eyes on her, make fun of her, and it's now the daughter who everyone's looking at more than the parent. I think that it's switched. Maybe that guy, maybe I misunderstood that guy, but I think that what the teacher did is give the kids the information to go check it out. I don't think that what the teacher did is go, hey, guys, I just, listen. I don't know. Hang on, hang on. Give me a second, Ash. I'm the teacher standing up in front of the class. Hey, guys, just want to let you know, that girl right there, her father is a registered sex offender. And if you want to find out, go to this website, but know her father's a sex offender. I don't think it went down that way. I didn't say that either. I think what she did was she went, hey, class, there's a website out there to be able to go on to and check and find out who's a registered sex offender. And I think it's a good idea because it'll give you guys a good idea to know who to check out.
What's the difference between that and what you suggested? I think that, well, because he was saying that there was a website that it got blocked. Or he thinks it should be blocked so that kids can't search that website at school. Answer the question. What's the difference between what I just said and what you said? Well, see, this is where we have problems communicating because you aren't going off of what I was saying. I'm going off exactly what you said. You said, shouldn't tell the kids directly. should tell the parents. And I'm saying, end result is this. So what's the difference between the two? It's going to get the information. It's putting it in the 12-year-old's hands and their maturity level versus the parents' hands and their maturity level. It's going to be in their hands, Ash, because the parent's going to put it there. You're saying, no, no, no, no. It's the teacher teaching 30 kids versus each parent individually teaching their children. What's the difference? Go on the website, telling them, letting them know the information and trying to teach them how to handle it in terms of going back to school with that information. So if the parents do it, the girl won't be made fun of. No, I'm just saying it's the heat and it's the like, well, like if you don't understand what I'm saying, then you're never going to understand what I'm saying. You know what I mean? We have a difference of opinions. Is that instead of having it be all at once, it'll be like over the course of a...
Say a week or whatever. But won't it not, since all the parents are going to do it at one time? The result is all the same. I guess Ashley's point is that instead of a barrage at once, she'll have to deal with it over a week, which to me is a very minute detail and one that doesn't really matter. I don't even know why we're arguing about it. Bottom line is, it's a great website. Yeah. Megan's law dot what? Meganslaw.ca.gov. Meganslaw.ca.gov. Check it out. This is the Mikey Show. Hey, what's up, man? This is P1 Steven calling in about the AIS insurance. What's going on, man? I gave him a shot. I had insurance back home from my home state of Nebraska and actually called in, hoping they could beat it. And that's kind of crazy because they beat it by $300 every six months. Whoa. Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Because, I mean, as you know, it's probably cheaper back there than insurance. Absolutely. Yeah, and it saved me $300. And, yeah, I'm pretty stoked. And I wanted to personally thank you. Dude, I think that's awesome. Did you go down and fill out your paperwork and all that yet? I did. I went out to the Escondido location. Very nice. They hooked it up, didn't they? They told me to tell you what's up.
all that good stuff. Was it easy? It was way easier. It took me like two minutes on the phone driving down the freeway. You said $300 every six months, so $600 a year. Yeah, it probably would have cost me, you know, it went up to like $800 after I got an accident from the raft and then it went down to like $400 a year. Dude, that's awesome. So it's pretty crazy. So I appreciate it. Thank you very much. And yeah. Congrats, bro. All right. Thank you, dude. We'll see you. There's Steve. Steve or Steven? I don't remember. You said Steven? Sorry about this, Rob, but the Red Sox sent pitcher Bartolo Colon to the minors. Rob found that funny. Some of the text messages that we're getting. It says here, Mikey, 12-year-olds are children.
They should not have this info available to them. The parents should be given this info directly. Totally agree with Ashley. Which, well, isn't that disagreeing with Ashley? That means that if... What? Well, I guess that means that if the parents have the info, the kids don't. No, what they're saying is they want to give the information directly to the parents and whatever the parents do with it at that point is up to them. I see. Now... I wonder if there are any parents that would see that their kid is in school in a class with a registered sex offender and not mention it. Hey, you know what? If my kid goes over to their house, oh well. I wonder if some parents will do that. I mean, even Ash wasn't suggesting that, right, Ash? What are the chances, though, that your friend is friends with that girl who has that dad that's going to go over there? Very slim. about that and so i mean that's all i was saying very slim the chances are clearly got it very slim let me answer the question the chances ashley are very slim what if they are there wouldn't you as a parent want to know yeah so i have my whole point is go ahead that's what i've been saying i like i don't think that we need to like what he said like there's no point in discussing it anymore because like i've explained 100 like my viewpoint and
Clearly you disagree, so whatever. Okay. This one says, hey, Mikey, I'm very torn on this issue of sex offenders. I have kids myself, so I want to protect them, but I feel this kind of overexposure does not promote rehabilitation. Mikey, it is more of a self-fulfilling prophecy. We want to treat sex offenders like outcasts, so what incentive do they have to change their harmful behaviors? They can never reach a normal level of lifestyle. We are not a forgiving culture, so this scarlet letter treatment is not effective. There's got to be a better way, signed P1 Duck. Well, I think that a scarlet letter deal is, hey, this girl is a hoe bag. That was what the scarlet letter was all about. This girl's a hoe bag. That's what they were calling him back in the day. Now, if the deal is that this person could potentially harm your child,
That's information we need. And so as parents, we need that information. Now, this first one said 12 year olds are children. They should not have this info available to them. Ashley says, that's right. They shouldn't. Says the parents should be given this info directly. Totally agree with Ashley. Ashley says, yeah, the kids shouldn't have that information. I said the teacher did it the wrong way. I said I understood where the listener on the phone was coming from and that it makes it so all eyes are on that poor little girl, that poor little 12-year-old girl who has enough on her plate as it is. Because that's like, I don't know, for me, middle school was like the toughest. Sure. So, you know, you're saying at 37 it's the same. I disagree with that. So I just think it's a tough age and I definitely don't think that the teacher took the right approach. What age? Because all eyes were on that little girl as opposed to the dad. Let me ask this. At what age do you think most people stop gossiping? Well, I definitely would take that information now and process it and treat the person whose father was a sex offender way differently than when I was 12. For sure. I'll tell you that right now. For sure. Just for clarification.
You said that you agreed that you and this person that texted that supported you that said totally agree with Ashley. You guys are in agreement or you're not in agreement. I'm just curious if you're in agreement. First of all, you have a tone. Second of all, you're trying to... I don't know what you're trying to do. I'm trying to discern. I can't understand. But what happens is that we get into this thing where I feel like you kind of go, I have a point. I have a point, Mike, but I don't want you to ask me questions. We just... I went round and round for 15 minutes about it. I'm telling you, Ashley, honestly, I'm confused. You're literally splitting hairs just to try to prove me wrong. It's an opinion and I'm entitled to it and I gave it. What I'm telling you is I don't understand. I don't know how many more times. I don't understand your opinion. Okay, then we should move on. I don't know what more you want me to say. Okay, and I think that I understand what you're trying to say. And we can. We totally can. Last break, you immediately took a tone with me. Immediately took a tone with me. And that's like, where am I supposed to go from there? I'm really sorry. I'm really sorry. I don't mean to take a tone with you. But what I find that happens is you dig yourself a hole. You do. You dig yourself a hole. No, I don't. And when I ask you questions, when I ask you questions, you're like, oh, no, I think I might be in a hole here. That's not true. Then I apologize. You split hairs and you misunderstand what I'm saying. Okay. Okay. I'll say, and then I apologize to you. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that. And honestly, I was looking for clarification because.
I'm so confused that this lady says that she agrees with you, yet I think that you disagree with this lady. Okay, well, what I'm saying... You don't have to. You don't have to. I apologize. I made a mistake. I made a mistake, and I am. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to put you in a position where you're having to tell me again and again. Somewhere here, we have a difference of opinion, you're saying. I can go with that. This one says, in fact, there was a news report not so long ago stating that the SDPD does not have the staff... to follow up on sex offenders. That's from P1 Dan. Next one says, Hey Mikey, can you put that link for Megan's Law on the website? I have three kids and would love to check it out. Thanks a bunch. P1 Shoe God 24. There you go. Lots of people calling in about this. P1 AH is on the line. Are you there, AH? Yes, I am. AH is a registered sex offender, no? Yes, sir. Okay. Now... Is the thing that you are a registered sex offender about, does it involve children, or is it like this guy that called and said that he actually got that label because he was urinating in public? Probably, you could say urinating in public, but to be honest, I was pleasuring myself in my car, to put it politely. Okay, okay. And when that happened, you got registered as a sex offender? Correct. Okay. Now, what is your take on all of this?
It's got its good points and its bad points. Because we messed up, we got to pay for our things. But on the other hand, it really hinders us from like one of your text messages said that it prevents us from changing, starting a new life. I've been off parole now for almost two years. And in that two-year period of time, I've had a lot of struggles. But yet I'm trying to keep afloat. I'm trying to keep my head above water. I called in actually because I wanted to let you guys know the reason that the double or 40% rise in homeless sex offenders, my parole officer, I actually went back to see him about two weeks ago just to let him know, hey, see, I told you I could do it. I'm staying clean and I'd like to help other people to stay clean. It's not hard. It's not easy, but it's not that hard. But he's Stopped working with sex offenders. That was his main thing for many years. And what he did is he stopped working with them because they told him he had to go and tell them, okay, there's no more money in the budget. They were housing people in downtown San Diego at a place called the Claremont, a couple other places that were parolee, mostly parolees. Now the state just done away with their contracts with them.
put everybody on the street that was on parole for whatever reason. So now all of a sudden you have all these homeless sex offenders that no longer have addresses because they're just let out of prison for whatever amount of time they were doing, whether it was two years or whatever, $200 in their pocket and they've got to start a new life. So what do you think? How do you change that? What would you do? What would I do? Let's say that tomorrow you were a legislator and you could make some difference and some change. I would actually... I actually, to be honest with you, I don't know. I really apologize. I've never really put any thought to it. I just have been too busy trying to deal with what's thrown my way because of this. And I don't know what else to say. I honestly can't answer that and be truthful. And it's a hard situation. Very few reasons. It's okay, man. It's tough, but...
It's like I've been working little side jobs here and there. I've had a couple jobs, but it's like because they know you're a sex offender, they don't want to let you go do certain... There's a lot of jobs they don't want to let you do because people don't want to trust you. I believe when I went to Arizona, I was on the website for Arizona. But before I left here, I was under the understanding and I checked it, but I wasn't on the website here. Unless they've changed it in the last year and a half, two years, the way it used to be is if you're, like, an indecent exposure or something to that effect, and that is your only reason why you're a registered sex offender, you don't have, like, indecent exposure, child molesting, and a couple other charges that are related to sex offenses, you won't be on the internet.
I'm not sure. I'm going to check now that you brought that up. I will check when I get home. I'm getting off work. I'm already off work, but this is a very important issue to me. I'll tell you this, man. I'll tell you this, A.H. I understand very intimately what it is about to change and to become a new person and to change from your old ways to a new way. You've heard my story. You know that for me it was Jesus Christ saving and transforming my life into something different. And so I hear you and I hear all that pain that you're going through. And I would like to offer that to you and tell you that there is a way for you to transform into a different person. Maybe you have. Maybe you've already transformed into a different person. It sounds like you're saying, hey man, I paid my dues and I just don't want to be...
classified anymore as a certain thing. I'm not this monster. You did make a mistake and you did whatever they wanted you to do. It sounds like you've done your time. I think that there are people that are listening that are two things. I know that for me, I am these two things. I am compassionate for your situation and feel for the pain that you're going through. On the other hand, I'm scared because I have a child. And I don't want my child to be harmed. I want to protect my child more than anything else. I want to protect my child. And I think you can understand that, right, A.H.? Sure can. I have an 18-year-old daughter myself. Right. So you can understand the both sides, that on one side you want to be compassionate and feel that a person has paid their debt to society and so they should be able to live a natural life. On the other hand, you know the love of a child and how much you want to protect them. And so, you know, you're right. It's a very, very, it's a very, very difficult situation. And Sky, what do you, what would you say about this one in particular? Like, what's your take on this one in particular?
Well, it's tough because, you know, we didn't go into specifics of what he was actually doing. You know, was it in, like, was he in the wrong place at the wrong time? Or was he actually parked across the street from a playground? Where were you? AH, where were you? A parking lot of a Target store. I mean, I laugh now because if I don't laugh, I'm going to cry. Yeah. It was pretty stupid. I can tell you right now, it was back in 98. Hmm. Okay, and back then I was a fool, okay? I'll admit it back then. But times change, you know, 14 years in the prison, first of them in and out of prison, with this R on your jacket, with having to hide from people, with having to fight, because once they find out that you're a registered sex offender, in there, or at least back when I was, you would literally let your life take them. You would literally have your life. They would try to take your life for that. for messing with a kid or a woman or someone that's less a person than a man, I guess you was the only way I could say it since I'm on the radio. Yeah. Not like this, but I let you get to know who I am first. Right. Maybe a week, maybe on seeing each other five, six times, maybe even a couple of phone calls. Right. Get to know me. Then I would say, hey, you know, there's something that I got to tell you. Yeah. And then I would let them know. But I would just say, hey, if you can deal with it, you can deal with it. If you can't, well, I'm sorry. But I don't want someone to say we're driving down the street together. And you're my passenger in my car. I get pulled over for a run in a red light, whatever. You're a sex offender. Yeah, well, I think if anything, the conversation is a real good one to have. If anything, it's a real good conversation to have. I mean, I can tell you, I've worked a lot of things out in my mind. And this morning, as we're talking about this, I'm finding, hey, man, this is really something kind of tough to work out in my mind. Yeah, it's tough. I am going to include you, AH, in my prayers. Well, my husband and I went back last May. We just got married, so we bought our new mattress. We got a really good deal on it. They threw in free sheets and pillows because we said we heard about it through you. And they also gave us the free mattress protector. So it was really cool. And I referred my mom to go there because she is buying a bed for my grandmother just this last week. And she went to the Curti Mesa store, and they actually beat the price on a Costco mattress. The Sleep Train was selling it for, I think, around $1,000, and then the Costco price was like $500-something. So they beat that, which is awesome. They just won Best Mattress Store, and there's a reason for it. They're really good. And served piping hot. That sounds good to me. There's also a place on here that goes by the name, the Pamplemousse Grill. Oh, you're close. Holy, you like this review. Let me tell you something. I would have. It says here, truffle fries first appeared on the menu here about 10 years ago as a joke. Says chef, and I will say magician, Jeffrey Strauss. You put a little truffle on something.
You get a better tip, he says. He cracked with staff, and customers have been eating them up ever since at $10 for a small order and $14 for large. You remember when, during the OJ trial, there was a similar moment when the black and white culture just had these completely opposite reactions and nobody understood it. And by the way, I'm somebody who was pretty clear that OJ... was guilty and I was ashamed for my own community to respond in that way but I also understood what was taking place which was that reaction had more to do with a sense that somehow the criminal justice system historically had been biased so profoundly that a defeat of that justice system was somehow a victory yeah well the reason you're saying that
It's because you have a head. That's right. I used to want to really chop off Hillary's head. Yeah. But now I'm rethinking that. Oh, yeah. Because I can see her roots. Well, that's right. I only like blondes. Maybe I'll make an exception. Yeah. Yeah. It's not funny, OJ. I think it sounds like fun. Unless he wants me to be his running mate. Are you interested? Well, I rushed for 2,000 yards. That's not what it means. Did I ever mention that? Every time. You have, and that's not what that means. I run on the choppy platform. That's right. What is that? You never heard of the choppy ticket? No, I haven't heard of that. You just like that word. Well, one time I called myself choppy, my running mate was choppy, and we were running on the choppy choppy ticket. I used to say... Every home deserves a chicken in every pot and a head on every porch. That's right. We don't say that. That's what we say. Not a good slogan. It worked. You can count on me to chop off Kim Jong-il's head. That's right. I'll do it. Put it in a camera bag and mail it to you. There it is. Over the top. Double over the top, OJ. Thank you. I'll be here all week. Thank you. See, because the way it goes is I'm moderate.
I'm double. No, I'm over the top. Over the top. One time over the top. My bro over here is double over the top. Yeah, I drink the blood. I just finger paint. And I just sit here in the corner reading my Bible. See, we're all different kinds of OJs here. You got your moderate, your over, and your double over. Oh, wow. What you gonna do? Well, a lot like cheeseburger. How's that? Really? Over the top? Well, you could get a regular hamburger. Right. Or you could get a single cheeseburger. Or go for it and get the double. Right. Double cheeseburger. Hey, listen. There ain't no doubt about it. That double is tasty, but it ain't good for you. No, it's not. You'll lose your head over it. That's a good one. Before you know it.
Flat off. Let's see. Barack Obama's comments about the Iraq War. Cut 13. By launching a war based on faulty premises and bad intelligence, President Bush failed Wilson's test. And so did Congress when it voted to give him the authority to wage war. History will catalog the reasons why we waged a war that didn't need to be fought. You can't see the video. He's smoking a cigarette. In 2002, when the fateful decision about Iraq was made, there was a president for whom ideology overrode pragmatism. And there were too many politicians in Washington who spent too little time reading the intelligence reports and too much time reading public opinion. The lesson of Iraq is that when we are making decisions about matters as grave as war, we need a policy rooted in reason and facts.
Not ideology and politics. There you go, Barack Obama. He's got a lot of stuff he wanted to talk about. Now you're talking the way I like to hear you talk, Barack Obama. Barack Obama's pastor. America's the worst. Wait a second. No one's saying that right. Ain't America? No, Pastor Wright, don't say that. Land of the free my butt. Oh, God. That's not good. That's Jeremiah. Wait a second. Wait, Pastor Wright, don't say that. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, but Pastor Wright, you're my boy. Oh, no. We should go to war with ourselves. Oh, no. Well, how, why would we want to go to war with ourselves? Because we're the worst. Oh, but that sounds unpatriotic. What the heck? Quit using them big old words. All right. Fine. And it was after we went to that bowling lunch, and he ate lunch there, and he was like, eh, maybe we'll stop in and get a snack. They really put eight patties? Yeah. Dude, the manager brought it out in its own tray. Well, that's not on the menu, so that's probably why. Wait a minute. I have questions, though. Okay. So you ordered that burger eight patties big. How tall? Show me with your hands. Dude, that's a foot. That's a foot. Are you exaggerating? It was laying down.
You can do that. The manager brought it out. You want to get it out? Dude, it was ridiculous. We have pictures of it. It's really 12 inches high? Yes. Eight patties. They lay it on the side? They had to lay it down on the side. Did he eat it all? What do you think? Dude, how is that possible? Dude, when he drove out here- Because he's 18. Yeah, when he drove out here, he stopped in Texas at this place he had heard a rumor about to try and finish a 72-ounce steak. Did he? I actually, there's an article on the front of NBC, SanDiego.com. Yeah, and the article on NBC739 on their website, NBCSanDiego.com, has a picture of each one. So you're like looking at the stats and looking at the pictures. So you just doubly know how you're ruining yourself. UCSD is playing UConn tomorrow. Yep.
Tomorrow about 11.45. Awesome. It's going to be a tough haul for the USD men, but I think they may be able to do it. Let's see. There was a guy walking around in Little Italy. I could swear we've said a story very similar to this. This happens, Mike, and it's always in Little Italy. There was a guy walking around Little Italy with a stab wound in his leg. Jeez. Yeah, and like witnesses had to call 911 in an ambulance. I have a question. Oh, no. Whoa. Just a question. Okay. I was just curious why every time this happens, it always has to make her news. Well, calm down. I wouldn't recommend it. No, no, no, no, no. Please, please, please. I'm just saying it's strange that people are getting stabbed in Little Italy, but nobody knows how it happened. Nobody's willing to talk about what went down. Well, I'm just saying, Eddie, if somebody stabbed me, I'd be like, hey, that was the guy who stabbed me.
Continue to talk about it. I'm just saying. Oh, no. It's bad. Happened yesterday. Ketner Boulevard, West Cedar Street. Oh, gosh. They had to close down some of the streets. Let me explain why maybe this happens every once in a while. Yeah. Is, you know, maybe a guy's walking down the street, you know, and sometimes, you know, people spring a leak. What is that? It spontaneously happens. You're walking down the street. Sometimes you look down. Oh, what do we got here? My leg's leaking. Oh, wow. What? I'm okay with that. Especially when I... But that doesn't make sense. I mean, Eddie is a doctor. You should know that that doesn't... Well, I'm not a doctor, and whatever he says, I agree with. Hey, you know, sometimes a guy, he's walking down the street, and he accidentally trips, and he falls on a knife 14 times. 14 times? That happens. For him, then. It does happen. That doesn't make sense, Eddie. Yes, it does. No, it doesn't. How can you fall on a knife 14 times? Sometimes a guy that falls has a big... Fat mouth. Doesn't stop yet, man. He's always... That's what I say to him. You're always talking. This guy, read between the lines. Well, I'm just saying. It doesn't make sense. But you shouldn't just say it. You know, you say to him a million times, you go, you know what's really funny to me, Carmine, is how much you always like to talk. Oh, boy. I don't know who Carmine is. Sometimes people grab a knife, you know, that's in my hand, and they shove it into the leg of somebody like themselves. Okay.
Someone will take a knife out of your hand and stab themselves? No, the knife stays in my hand. They take it. They shove it into the... What do you call it? The leg. The paw. The hoof. There is a new Bin Laden tape out there. I got the remix yesterday. I got the Criterion edition. That's right. I waited in line all day and they were sold out. He does commentary on it. the worst. Sky has details about that 90210 spinoff that we were talking about the other day. What's the deal, Sky? Joey Tata. Okay, well, so it's being worked on by the CW Network, and it's being written by the same person who did that show, Veronica Mars. Anyway, so they say that what it's going to be is it's going to be a guy, you know, a dad, who gets hired as the new principal for Beverly Hills High School. And he is a family from Kansas, but originally he actually went to Beverly Hills High School back in the day. So he moves his family with his two kids, a boy and a girl, to Beverly Hills. They have to try and adjust. His mother still lives in Beverly Hills. She's like a drunk, kind of all over the place, rich chick, always going into rehab. And then they say that they do hope to have former members of 90210 in the cast, but there's not really going to be as many tie-ins as been rumored. There you go. There it is.
Some text messages we're getting. Mikey, 2,000 calories for an average 180-pound male is what to remember and for a 130-pound female. Add 100 calories per day per 10 pounds thereafter. So again, 2,000 calories for your average 180-pound male or 130-pound female. And then you add 100 calories a day for every 10 pounds. After that. So if you're a 150-pound female, there you go. You would be eating 2,200 calories a day. Mikey, Ashley singing Eminem was the funniest thing I've ever heard. I laughed so hard in my cubicle, I had to walk outside. You guys make my day. Maybe he can just get the pitch a little better or something like that. Take that tone. Not pitch. I didn't mean pitch. What do you mean by that? I meant, you know, the scales. He could work on the scales. The tonage. He could work on that. No. Be careful. Enunciation? No. Just stop. Let's see. I think we got it out there, guys. Get it out there. Martin Sheen criticized Denise Richards for her reality show. His daughter-in-law, or former daughter-in-law. He doesn't want the grandbabies on TV. Yeah, you know, who can blame him, right? Yes? Oh, hi, Mikey. Sorry about that. I didn't realize I was on the air. Yeah, this is P1 Shane. I just talked to you the other day. My voice is sounding so much better already. Yeah, it does. It sounds a little bit better. Almost human again, right? Yeah, before you ask that girl out, I would let that heal up a little bit more. Unfortunately, too late. I already did. And you know what? Unbeknownst to me, or I don't know why, she agreed to it. Oh, look at you. Look at me, big pimp, and I got to brush my shoulder off, I guess. Congratulations, bro. Hey, real quick, I just wanted to let you know, I think you're working those guys too hard in there, you know. Actually, Eddie and Sky, because I emailed Ashley a while ago on MySpace. She hasn't gotten back to me yet. Yeah, there may be a reason for that, and it may not have to be with working too hard. You know, it could be anything. It could be anything. I think they all deserve maybe just a couple days off or some R&R. I'm sure that will get her to get back to you. All right. All right, she's going to have next week off, and we'll see if she gets back to you. It might be that she doesn't know you, sir. That's all. If she doesn't, just write her again, I guess.
