Chris told Mikey how his family sold Babe Ruth's first All-Star Game home-run ball for $805,000, choosing his parents' surgeries and security over keeping the heirloom. Skye detailed the Oceanside confrontation in which off-duty officer White shot Silva and her son, and the crew argued that Silva's apparent aggression did not fully explain White displaying a gun and firing five times. Mikey, Eddie, Ashley, Boston Rob, Sean and Chantel turned everyday mishaps into comedy through the bank-teller disaster, the dog incident, movie trivia, Battle of the Sexes, morning tempers, appearance compromises and an argument over naked children. The show also reacted to Florida teenagers potentially facing life for a videotaped beating, then closed with Mikey's account of alcoholism, isolation, faith, treatment and recovery.
What happened, in order
Dog Pees on Ashley
Ashley said her dog recognized that she was leaving for her boyfriend's house and peed directly on her bare feet as she checked her hair.
The Teller Proves Rob Right
Boston Rob's distrust of automated banking became comic vindication when a new teller accidentally debited his account repeatedly and made his money disappear before coworkers fixed it.
The $805,000 Babe Ruth Ball
Chris explained that his grandfather caught and had Babe Ruth sign the first home-run ball from the first All-Star Game, then revealed that he sold it for $805,000 to fund his parents' surgeries and pay off their home.
Cheerleaders Face Life
The hosts were stunned that eight Florida teenagers accused of kidnapping and beating a girl on video could be tried as adults and face life in prison.
Movie Word Association
The crew played an elimination game naming movies from prompts, with Ashley instantly losing by offering the Guns N' Roses song 'November Rain' for a movie title containing a month and Eddie ultimately winning.
Team Sass Finally Wins
Chantel joined Ashley and Skye for Battle of the Sexes, where Skye's answers about the Dallas Stars and point spreads carried Team Sass to its first victory over the men.
Morning Grumpiness
A listener's complaint about his wife policing the milk in his cereal launched stories from Rebecca, Skye, Ashley, P1 Quimby and others about needing up to two hours before they can tolerate conversation.
Oceanside Road-Rage Shooting
Skye reconstructed how off-duty officer White shot Silva and her eight-year-old son after a parking-lot confrontation, while the crew argued that Silva appeared aggressive but White's displayed gun, unexplained stop and
Changing for Your Partner
Ashley's longer nails prompted a debate in which Skye said she keeps her hair as her husband prefers, Chris recalled shaving his goatee for his wedding, and Eddie insisted he would never shave his.
Busiest Chains Quiz
The group guessed the world's busiest McDonald's and Hard Rock Cafe and the busiest U.S. Outback, Domino's, Nordstrom, AMC, Toys R Us and Jiffy Lube, repeatedly defaulting to Times Square.
When Kids Need Clothes
Boston Rob's report of naked young children in his neighborhood sparked a parenting argument in which Mikey and Eddie favored clothes from birth while Skye allowed more leeway at home, the beach or a pool.
Mikey's Recovery Testimony
Mikey described early alcoholism, an eating disorder, crushing isolation, praying to Jesus Christ when he believed he was dying, entering treatment with his family's support and finding lasting hope in recovery.

Well, welcome to Friday. It's 6.06. The details have finally been released almost a month after an off-duty San Diego cop shot a woman and child in Oceanside. The Masters first round was yesterday. Justin Rose and Trevor Immelman are your leaders. Tiger had no birdies yesterday and is even for the round. Four behind the leaders. For people that do not understand golf, Eddie, what does that mean, a birdie? You know, basically each hole has a number of strokes you have to get to to get par. And if you are one under that, that is a birdie. Now, is it like usually next to impossible that you're going to see the tiger being over? Over par? It's not next to impossible, but it's very rare. Very rare. Yeah. So that means that yesterday he was usually on par. He had two bogeys, which is one over par. Right. And he had one eagle, which is two under par. So he had one over.
He had two over, and then one eagle, which is two under, to make him completely even. And very rare for him to be over like that, right? Well, I mean, everybody has bogeys. I mean, it happens, but he usually makes up for them. By doing good stuff. By doing a lot of birdies. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He had no birdies yesterday, just zero. And so, you know, it was just an average round for him, and he's still going to win. So it doesn't matter. That's what he does, right? I mean, as long as he's in striking distance, He'll win. And he's only four behind. He'll probably be the leader today. You watch. Really? Yeah. That's crazy. I should start watching golf more. It's awesome. I love golf. It's kind of cool. I mean, having it explained to me helps, but that's kind of cool. Welcome to the show. It's Friday, 570-1053 is our phone number. And you can give us a call at the beginning and end of every show. We do open phones, so it's whatever you want. You can call in about anything you want. And they are almost done at my house putting the tile in where the cats were, which I'm really happy about. And so this is going to gross some people out. Uh-oh. So I'll try to be delicate. But when everything was out of that closet and the floor was ripped out and you saw a new tile in there with the little spacers and the whole deal, I said to the guy that was putting it in, I go,
What are those splotches on the wall? And he goes, well, that's where the cats were marking their territory. And I said, how did they even do that? It seemed kind of difficult, technically. But they did it. They're evil, Mike. They are. I'll stop it. That's true. That's true. Spew hatred from all orifices. Yeah, hatred. So he said... He said bleach. He said, just take a sponge with bleach on it and put it there and you'll be good to go. And I said, yeah, I was thinking about just, you know, reconstructing the house starting from scratch. I would tear the wall board out. Yeah. I was thinking of tearing, you know, everything out. That portion of the house. So you can call us 570-1053. Open phones. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He is 35 years of age. What up? And anything going on with you, Eddie? What's new? Uh, nothing really. I had a weird experience at Chevy's last night. Really? Yeah, we went there for dinner and it was like Chuck E. Cheese. And I don't know if there was like a secret like thing packed with parents that like we're all going to meet up at Chevy's like in San Diego. They have like an underground meeting going on? Seriously. Or if like Thursday nights is like kids eat free night or something. But I did not know this and my wife did not know this and we were like bombarded.
with kids. It was crazy. It's like Red Robin, right? It's the same thing. You go there and you go, is there something going on I didn't know about? I've eaten at that Chevy's millions of times, but I guess not on a Thursday night because it was crazy. I don't know what the deal is. Skye is our news girl. She's 30 years old. I know that she was leaving yesterday to go have lunch with her friend Michelle. Did you guys end up going to lunch? Yeah, we did. Where did you go? We went to this cool Irish pub in Escondido on Grand. I think it's called O'Sullivan's or something like that. Did you get the shepherd's pie? Well, it's funny you bring that up, Eddie. Yes! I considered getting the shepherd's pie. I sat there, I looked at the menu, and I said, that doesn't sound bad. The guy said it's good. Maybe I should. And then I didn't. Ah! Ah!
Then I got the jalapeno bites instead. At an Irish place? Thank you. Jalapeno bites at an Irish place? Yeah. It's really cool. It's like deep fried little. It's like ordering the shepherd's pie at Taco Bell. Yeah. Yeah. What? It was grubbing, but I think that's progress. I mean, I like considered it. Was she considered? I considered it. That's right. We're making progress here, Eddie. Step in the right direction. Thank you, Ashley. You guys watch The Office? I haven't seen it. Was it funny? It was okay. I wouldn't say there was a lot of laugh out loud moments. But it was okay. It was kind of like having your friends back. They went on a long vacation and they were back. So it was good to see them. But it was kind of one of these over the top episodes. Very awkward environment.
But it was okay. It says Jim makes up an excuse to try to leave Michael's dinner party early. Cut 36. And Jan seemed to be playing their own separate game. Let's see how uncomfortable we can make our dads. And they're both winning. Remember guys, I just got a message from my landlord. Apparently my apartment flooded. Something with the sprinkler. Pam, we should probably get going and see the damage. Oh, okay. You don't need two of you to do that. Dinner sounded delicious. Pam, I'll see you at home. Thank you so much. I don't think you're going to abandon this party here all by itself. I don't know, because everything I own is there. You can buy new stuff, but you can't buy a new party. That's true. That is a great point. That's great. So everybody watch that. Shawnee, oh boy, is our sound effects guy. He's 38 years of age. He stands very tall. How tall are you, T-Rex? Six, four and a half. How tall are you, Sean? Six, three.
Yeah, T-Rex wins. T-Rex wins. Post up. He's better. Shani O'Boy does sound effects for us. Shani, give the audience an example of your work. All right, Mike. There you go. Wow. It's number 85 for the Cincinnati Bengals. Chad Johnson saying no. There it is. Ashley's our assistant producer. She's 24 years of age. And she grew up in the Bay Area. Where were you born, Ashley? Encina, California. Is that close to Encino? Oh, it is the same place is what you're saying. It's the same place. It's one of the two. It's their sister cities, Encina and Encino. It's definitely one of the two. Ah, the twin cities. Yes, the twin cities, they call it.
I always just grew up thinking I was born in L.A., and then I had to do a heritage report. Yes, and then with a heritage report. They're like, where were you born? And so I found out Encino. No. That's right. Evidently. Did you ever see Encino Man? Yeah. She thought it was Encino Man. Based on a city? Yes. Oh, wow. Okay. Ashley said that her dog peed on her feet yesterday. Oh, that was really cool. That was fun. That was really good. That dog presents a new challenge every day. She is like my child. That's right. Absolutely, because you got to think. Get her a diaper. You got to think. I am her sole provider. And last night, I'm all geared up, ready to go to my honey's house. And I think she knew I was getting ready. She's smart, and we're in a routine. And she knows when I start to get ready. She's that I'm going to leave her. And so I'm, like, literally about to go out the door, checking my hair in the bathroom, and look down, and she's peeing on my feet. That's terrible. So on the carpet or on tile? It was on tile. It was on my bathroom floor. But she got, you know, on the rug, and then, like, it smelled, and then I was barefoot, and I'm, like, cleaning it up, and I got on my feet. Can you imagine this mess? No. And then I had to pick her up and put her outside, and then she, you know. Well, I think we get it.
Well-trained. Life. Boston Rob is our... She's very well-trained. Thank you very much. Mike. Yes. She's very well-trained. It takes time. I've only had her three months. I heard it takes two to make a thing go right. You're correct on that. I heard three is company. That's true, too. What? So, Rob is our 25-year-old engaged gentleman. Yes. He's engaged to be married. Do you have a date, Rob? Nope. No. Had one, and then... Forgot it. It washed off my hand. There you go. Boston Rob is our phone screener. He is also a singer-songwriter and comes up with lots of different fantastic parody songs that we play on the air. One time he wrote about losing his churro. Yeah, that one was special. That's right. That was one of his favorite ones. Another time he wrote about how he likes Aunt Jemima. Oh, yeah. Pancake syrup. On his feet. Well, he likes to write about topics that appeal to the masses. That's right. That everyone can relate. Yeah, he says, I feel most people can relate. He's kind of the John Lennon of our group. Oh, wow. Rob, have you... Thank you. You're welcome. We were talking about this the other day. Strawberry fields forever, bud. Rob is reluctant to get any kind of online banking going. He goes into the bank. He gets his check and...
in check form, not direct deposit. He takes it to the bank. He makes a, you know, fills out the slip. He says minimum he's spending 15, 20 minutes in the bank per trip. Oh, my gosh. What does he think is going to happen? I think he thinks that somehow a mistake can be made with a direct deposit and it goes into someone else's account. Yeah. And then he's not paid. He doesn't get paid. He's going to try to make ends meet that week without any money. How long have you had direct deposit? I've had it probably, 15 years. Any problems ever? Not one time. Me either. I mean, not even one time. Not even once? I can't think of that one example. Oh, weird. That's weird. I see Skye's a lot like Austin, Rob, in that regard. We made her get direct deposit, though. Yeah. You go to the bank yesterday, Rob?
Oh, no. Again? Yeah, I had to go again. I had to do more banking. And it was, remember how yesterday you were talking about your new yoga instructor, Ashley? Yes. There's a new chick that works at the bank. Oh, no. Are you okay? No. I'm sorry. He likes his, you know, teller. He likes his particular teller to help. He likes his teller the way he likes his teller. I have three different tellers. It depends what time of day I go to the bank. Oh, my God. This is crazy. I believe he's the last man on earth with a teller. Yeah. I haven't even been into the bank in probably over a year. What's a bank? The nicest people. I love it. Yeah, because you're keeping them employed. Yeah. Thank you, Rob. Thank you. Please come every day. Yeah. Oh, I give them so much work to do. We have a great time. We have fun. I was there next to, check this out, to give you an idea of who else is in the bank, the guy next to me was so old that the teller next to me goes, how are you doing today? He goes, above ground. I'm not kidding. I'm not kidding. Wow. I was in the bank for 35 minutes yesterday. Did everything go well, though? No. Oh, it didn't go well. No. Oh, it didn't go well. The new teller, my worst fear.
Came to fruition. What? The new teller did something where she debited my account too many times. Like, she must have hit a button wrong. Oh, no. Oh, no. And my money disappeared. And she didn't tell me, but I saw her panicking, so I panicked. Rob. What? You know who doesn't do that? The computer. Yes. Yeah, because the computer, like, if it messes up, it doesn't say nothing to you. But it doesn't mess up. It doesn't mess up. Yes, computers mess up all the time. Watch movies, dude. Eddie, watch some movies for crying out loud. Didn't M. Night Shyamalan do a movie about this? War games. You lose your money. Not funny. Did he get straightened out, though? Yeah, well, the two tellers that I know had to come over. Ron, get over here. Yeah, after I told him I had a bomb. Oh, wow. Things got straightened out, but I almost lost my mind when I thought all my money had disappeared. This poor guy. Do you think that they're just not going to give it back? No, I asked the manager. I was talking to the manager about it, and I said, so what had happened there? So I guess I'm just broke now. Is that it? Not on the street. Thank you, Penny. Yeah, great. Last time I come here, Wells Fargo. When you hit the button. May I please speak to Mr. Fargo? Yes. Is Mr. Fargo here? Mr. Fargo!
I'm out of order. You're out of order. Things are good. Wow, thank goodness. And finally, Roosevelt Zethian Oates. The third. That's right. Rosie. He is... Is he alive over there? Yeah, he's 23. Put a mirror under his nose. That's right. What? 23. Oh, there he is. He'd be a good poker player, I'll tell you that much. Not really. It's hard to read him. That's right. Zeth is 23. And I got that right, right, Seth? Yep. You just had a birthday. Hey, if you want to text us, you can do it. 35253. That is our text number. If you're not a member of the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, just text the word Mikey to 35253, and it'll get you all set up so that you can start texting us. And, of course, our request line is 570-1053. P1 Mondo, you there?
I'm here, bro. Mondo, can you tell everyone what a P1 is, just in case there's new listeners? All right. If someone doesn't curse, gets straight to the point, listens to Mikey's show exclusively, and turns down the radio. There you go. What were you calling about? Nothing. I just wanted to know if you guys remember me. I called yesterday. I'm a guy from down in L.A. Gets to work real early. So I can listen to your guys' show in the morning on Thursday. Mm-hmm. And, you know, yesterday I was listening to your show, and like I said, I just love it. It's a great show. Mm-hmm. I just decided all these other morning shows suck, bro. Right now, I'm living out in LA. I used to like to listen to Power 106, but they just play the same music. They don't talk much. It's just real boring. So yesterday, I got out of work and went and bought a laptop, all the accessories. And right now, I'm driving to LA listening to you guys broadcast. Look at you. Oh, my gosh. Look at you. That's really cool. Yeah, so, I mean, it's going to come in other years, but my main reason is, like I said, I just like you guys' show. Wow. I've been sitting here for about a half hour not doing nothing, and I already got tripped by my boss's bed while I haven't. I made any deliveries, and I'm like, I'm in the restroom right now. You're the best. Well, you've got to work. You know what I mean? You've got to work. Whatever, Mike. Eventually, you've got to go to work. Priority. But I'm not paid by the hour. I'm paid by delivery, so it doesn't matter how long I take. Well, there you go, then. Congratulations. Thanks a lot, bro. You guys have a good day. Thanks, Mondo.
Later. T-Rex is in the studio. Looking good. That's right. T-Rex is a P1 Hall of Famer, which means that he is widely known by all the P1s, and he won, for the first time, the opportunity to come hang out in the studio. And we were talking about it. We were like, this is cool. T-Rex gets to come hang out. How are you, man? I'm doing awesome. Thank you. He's a good dude. And T-Rex, for a living, Is a site project manager. Does that for an office furniture company. We've known him for years. And he's been listening to us for a while. Hey, I heard that you went to Lou Bush's juke joint. Yes, I did. You did? Yeah. Really? Yeah. It was awesome. And how was it? Yeah, it was good? Yeah, food was really good. Yeah, what'd you get? I got the chicken, barbecue chicken. Got ribs, the greens, macaroni and cheese.
A couple of cakes. That sounds good. Cakes? They serve cakes? Mm-hmm. Oh, hell. It's called a red velvet cake. Nice. I think I've heard him talk about that. Wow. I think he's mentioned that. That's really good. Lou Bush makes the best food you'll ever have, ever. Uh-huh. He used to be a football player for the Chargers, and he's a friend of ours, really good friends with Eddie, because Eddie and him do the pregame show together for the Chargers. He's actually been to culinary school. Mm-hmm. But, you know, that taught him a lot of technique. But, I mean, he just has recipes from, like, his family and stuff that he's worked on over the years. And it's just incredible food. And I keep telling him, dude, you've got to go on, like, Top Chef. Oh, that would be cool. How great would it be to have, like, a former NFL player, you know, as a cook on Top Chef? He would get cast in a second. Absolutely. Absolutely. Dude, I'm too busy. How about about... about five bags of food home yesterday. Oh, wow. Wednesday night. My wife's like, where did you go? I went with the little bushes. That's nice. I kind of smelled it and said, oh, it smells good. That's cool. P1 Jared, are you there? Hey, Mikey, what's going on? Not too much, man. Hey, I just wanted to let Rob know that I totally agree with him about the direct deposit thing. I'm in the military and I have to have it. But one of my jobs is working with the direct deposit online account management system. Uh-huh.
Well, here's the deal with that. I guess you could really think of any profession that services people at all. And you could say, it's a good thing I'm an honest guy because, I mean, honestly, I mean, it doesn't matter what it is. Right. Well, totally. But, you know, you see stuff in the news all the time about, you know, and, you know, they say, what do they say, corruption? corruption happens all the way to the top, you know? Sure. Well, my thought is, is like, yeah, you're capable of doing that if you were a shady guy, but you'd be locked up within like a month. I mean, it's not going to take them too long to connect the dots back to you. That's true. So that's why I trust that people won't do that because they don't want to live behind bars. It's true. It's true.
Hey, thank you, Jared. I appreciate the phone call. So we're safe, Rob. Everybody's safe. That's right. I don't know. Have you guys seen the movie Hackers? Oh, gosh. He really is ridiculous. He's ridiculous. Angelina still has those skills. I don't trust her. She's got a lot of money. You see how goofy he is. My friend Russ, my friend Chris are hanging out in the studio, too. Somebody sent me an email. A friend of mine sent me an email about Chris because we were talking about yesterday we got that phone call from that guy, Eric. Now, people that were listening at this time may have missed it, but we got an email from this guy named Eric that said he had a bayonet that his grandfather had owned. His grandfather passed away, gave the bayonet to his dad, who gave it to him and said, don't get rid of this thing. And he was calling us because he was going, well, now I kind of have to, or now I found out that I can get 800 bucks from this from a guy that deals in these. World War II items, I don't know what to do. And so it was a big topic yesterday. And so a friend of mine said you've got to ask Chris about the Babe Ruth story. Can you tell that story, Chris? Come over to the microphone right here. What is the Babe Ruth story? We had a baseball in our family that my grandfather caught at the first All-Star game ever played. It was like July 6, 1933. Wow.
The game was put together, Best of American League, National League, to try to revive the sport because of the Depression. I mean, no one was buying tickets for anything of luxury items or just entertainment. You know what? Sit in that chair and pull that chair up so you can talk directly in that microphone because it will be a lot better. There you go. There you go. And so my grandfather's at the game. My grandmother bought him a ticket, and they went, and they sat in the right field, and she was apologetic that they couldn't sit closer to the Stars. And Babe Ruth was there, even though it was at the very end of his career. And third inning, he hits the first home run ever in an All-Star game. And my grandfather knocked it down, and it fell in the seats behind him. He falls down, reaches under the seats, and in the scrum, he came up with it. Holy cow. Wow. Had Babe Ruth sign the ball that's been in the family ever since. That's crazy. That's crazy. That is unbelievable, man. How much is it worth? We sold it two years ago. You sold it. Why would you do that? No, come on. You did not. Chris, why did you sell it? Because I'm a moron. Here's the thing. I'm furious. I know. I know. I think my little brother's that way, too. My little brother's like a huge baseball nut. He's one of those freaks that...
He designs vacations around, well, we can catch this park and then go to this park. Wait, what do you mean, freaks? What are you talking about? Is there a freak? Wow. Well, wait a minute. Let's keep it for later. Don't tell us yet. I want people to have to wait. That's great. I love it. There's the teaser. There's the teaser. Holy moly. 570-1053 is the number. That's great. I would have washed your car for like four months for that. Wait, what? That's not even close to probably what it's worth. Well, yeah, Rob. I mean, that would equal about, you know, $100.25. Uh-uh, dude. Let's see. A guy that is a driver in the NASCAR truck series admits that he's been using heroin before racing. What? Whoa! My goodness. This is a crazy story. So this, you know, there's a big hubbub right now about starting drug testing in NASCAR. Right. Because this guy's come out and said that he was abusing drugs. And he admitted that he had taken heroin a few times before driving and was out on the course driving while high on heroin. Get out. Yeah. Holy moly. And so NASCAR and drivers are all freaking out now. Yeah. Like, dude, what's going on? Right.
So, pretty crazy. So they don't really know details other than what he said, which is that. He admitted it. He said he did it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But we don't know how often and all that stuff. Yeah. That's pretty gnarly. That's pretty crazy. Who got voted off last night? American Idol. Dude, shocker. Yeah, Michael Johns. And, like, the audience gasped when it was revealed. Oh, I want to hear that. I like to hear when the audience freaks out about stuff. Right? Cut nine. A lot of surprises. Here and watching right now. Are you surprised? Oh, wait, wait, wait. Sorry, sorry, sorry. That's the wrong clip. It's cut eight. After the nationwide vote. Here we go. Saisha and Carly, you are safe. I listen to bullying. Whatever. That means Michael has the lowest number of votes this week. They do all they want. Last year.
During Idol Gives Back, we didn't eliminate anybody at this stage of the competition. Tonight, we're going to say goodbye to Michael Johns. What a jerk you are. It's the end of the world for Mr. Johns. Let's hear it from Michael, ladies and gentlemen, please. Such a jerk, Ryan. That was brutal. Why did he say that? Now I get why Dunkelman laughs. Stupid. So what is the deal? What did Michael Johns look like? He was a guy from Australia. And very bluesy type performer. Yeah. I thought he was really good. Yeah. But, I mean, he wasn't going to win. Right. So, you know, what can you do? But there are definitely a couple of people on the show still that deserve to go before. Like Saisha. Saisha. Get her out of here. I don't know how. She's still on the show. She did good last week.
Eddie, don't try to read into what Ashley said. Try not to analyze her thoughts on it, though. She looked great last week. Yeah, don't look into that, Eddie. If you read too far into she looked great last week, it'll make you crazy, I'm telling you. So, my question is, how about the girl from San Diego? She was one of the girls that was in the bottom three. Come on. Remember, she sang that Queen song that was not a very good choice. Not really a big surprise that she's in the bottom three, but she's going to do better. She's too good to be in the bottom. Do you guys think she's not going home for a while? I said from the beginning of the top 12, I thought it was going to be Archuleta and her in the finals. So I don't know. I can see that, yeah. 570-1053 is our number. We got a great show for you today. We are going to be doing... Battle of the Sexes, which means Chantel is coming into the studio. San Diego Charger girl Chantel is coming in to represent with the ladies. I wonder what's going to happen. Team Sass. I'm feeling good today. Yeah, Ash. Going up against Team Awesome, and Team Awesome is undefeated. Yeah. They have not lost one Friday yet. It's pretty easy, Mike, to be honest with you. Is it? I mean. Going up against the ladies. They're just. Our text number, 35.
253. Very beautiful. Yes. So he's going to say beautiful. Very beautiful. Thank you. Very. Our phone number, 570-1053. Check it out. And we got a big show for you today. Let's see. Brian Regan in the Stand-Up Spotlight. The Mikey Show Stand-Up Spotlight on Rock 105.3. You grow older, you start having your birthday party games. Pin the tail on the donkey. That was a good safe game for kids. What are adults again? Hey, hey, we're having a whole bunch of kids over big party. We're gonna blindfold one Give them something sharp Spin them around and let them go. Go Bobby with the pen. Just run a muck Poking around this noise. Those are puncture wounds Bobby stop. We made a horrible error It's running out the door. I had multiple DUIs, full SR-22, all that stuff. I lost my license for like two years. And when I got it back, I couldn't find an insurance company that would even take me. AIS found me one, and they saved me like $240, $230 or so from what the other insurance companies were quoting me if they would actually take me on. Really? Well, good for you.
Yeah, it's great. I went down to the Escondido office, got everything all squared away. Were they cool to you? Oh, dude, they're awesome, dude. I mean, you're always talking about how they've got P1s working there. It's cool, man. We sat there, and after we got everything signed up, we talked about the Mikey show for like 10 minutes. On July 3rd, 1993, I was riding on the back of a friend's personal watercraft. After we had awake, I bounced off and was run over by a boat. The propeller nearly severed my fingers, arm, and leg. One minute I was riding along, the next I was lying on the shore bleeding. Since then, I've had six surgeries. If only the boater hadn't been drinking that day, I could still do the things I used to do, and I wouldn't have this pain every day. Remember. If it's your boat, it's your responsibility. Pete, why don't you just put on some clothes and we can sit down and discuss. No, I'm not going to go put clothes on. Because if I put clothes on, it's over. We're leading different lives. In theaters Friday, April 18th. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Overall, not a bad ride getting by with a Friday morning light commute so far. However, we do have a problem in the East County here. It's on Campo Road on the eastbound lanes here. Just about a half mile east of Steel Canyon, a rollover blocking lanes in a blind curve. So use extra caution if you're traveling out that direction in Hamul. Other than that, though, things are looking pretty quiet. Just that usual slowdown developing out of Escondido a little bit. Make the auto parkway south from the 15 down to Villarancho. Bunching up a little bit again through Carmel Mountain Ranch. Coaster rides looking fairly decent. Just a minor delay here from Birmingham Drive down to Manchester. No worries out of the South Bay, 5 out of 5 northbound. They're moving right along for a good-looking ride. And as you come into the city, out of the East County, the 8th, 94, 52, they're all looking fine for you. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. How cool is the Hard Rock Hotel downtown San Diego? Well, it's home to the drunkest Skye's ever been in her entire life. That is true. They should, like, put a plaque in the lobby or something. Or in, like, the women's restroom. Skye's first blackout experience. That's huge. Yeah. You know a place is cool when Skye gets that drunk.
So, I mean, seriously, you could be a part of that, too. You could be part of Sky's debauchery. All you got to do is look into it. Look into becoming one of the owners there at the Hard Rock Rock Royalty. And they will be treated like a freaking rock star, which is totally cool. And, you know, I loved it. They gave me the opportunity to be treated like one of the owners there. Holy moly, man, it was an experience that I will never forget. And, you know, another thing to consider is, like, if you're going to a Padre game, it's right next to Petco Park. And so if you want somewhere to stay, bingo, there you go. Stay at the Hard Rock because it's so cool. And, you know, even better is if you are one of the owners of... Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? So check it out. They have a website. You can go online and look into it. It's Hard Rock Hotel, San Diego, downtown. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I'm 37 years old. I'm a Gemini. I shave my head bald. This text says, good morning, guys and gals. I'm totally with Rob on the banking at the bank. You can't flirt your way out of fees with a computer. Oh, my God. P1 Jazzy, baby. Hey, Mikey, I have a firefighter's helmet from 1905, Boston Fire Brigade. I wouldn't sell it for a million dollars. Wicked. How about if I make you dinner for three weeks in a row? Dinner? Wow. Three whole weeks. But you don't know how to cook. Remember Thanksgiving? How are you going to afford the food? I don't buy the food. I make the dinner. Oh, I see. Oh, I apologize. The next text says, question for Sean. How are you so quick to get the correct sound effect? I'm very jealous of your ninja kung fu button skills. Give that man a raise. Sean, how do you do that? That is an interesting question that I think people would be interested in having the curtain pulled back on. They use a combination of black magic and sorcery. All right. Well, that's interesting. And apparently that's how he gets the sound effect on the air. I'm getting into the occult. I see. And I would suggest it for all children. Okay, great. That's wonderful. That's Sean, and he is inappropriate. Lord Sean, he prefers. Next one says, hey, Ashley.
Your dog doing that to you is a sign of dominance. You should spray the Pugly in the face. That's P1 Rondo. There it is. 570-1053 is the phone number. In Florida, suspects in that cheerleader video beating are being tried as adults and could get... I don't know, Eddie, what do you think? We've all seen this video. It's these cheerleaders in Florida. Yeah. And they're beating up on this one girl. Yeah. We've all seen it. What do you think they could face at the most? How many years or whatever? 18 months. At the most? At the most. Okay. Let's see. Ashley, what do you think these girls could potentially get at the most for beating that girl up and it being caught on tape? I would hope like five years. All right. Boston Rob, what do you think at the very most they could get? 30 days. Sean. I would go for 12 months. And let's ask T-Rex. T-Rex, at the very most, P1 T-Rex is in the studio with us today. At the very most, how much do you think that these girls could face? I would say a year. Well, Skye, tell everybody what they could be facing if tried as adults. Well, the Florida state attorney announced yesterday, like Mikey said, they will be trying them as adults and they could be sentenced to life in prison. Okay, wait.
Holy moly. That's crazy. Yeah, there are eight suspects who range in age from 14 to 18. All of them will be tried as adults. Six girls, two guys. They are all facing charges of kidnapping and battery. And on top of that, three of them are also charged with tampering with a witness. Wow. That Florida doesn't mess around, do they? I love it. What is this, Texas? Wow. Dude. That's gnarly, man. Yeah, the victim, the 16-year-old girl, still suffers from blurred vision, hearing loss, and swollen face. Yeah, and that's going to make it a lot worse, man, because all that's going to be a part of it. Now, the guy that you were seeing on TV, remember the dude that took off from Mexico? There was a Marine, a female Marine, that was missing. And she was actually pregnant. They found her body. This guy was on the run. What's his name, Sky? Cesar Loren. He was gone and couldn't find him. I think they even had like an ATM video on the guy getting money out of the bank. Yes, you're right. And so what's the latest? Well, he has been caught in Mexico. There you go. So that is good and bad.
Of course, it's always good when they're caught, but if you're caught in Mexico, they have an extradition policy, which says that basically if they extradite somebody that they catch here to the United States, that we cannot use the death penalty against them. Really? And then also they say it could take, gosh, it could take anywhere from like a week to three years to get him extradited here, depending on if he wants to fight it or not. What? Skye, tell me about this one. What is the deal with that Miss California pageant lawsuit thing? So do you guys remember this? The Miss California where Miss California was crowned and then like three days later they were like, oh, sorry, there was some sort of mix up and you're really not Miss California. This chick over here is Miss California. So the chick who was dethroned as Miss California has just filed a lawsuit against the pageant for $500,000, half a million dollars, alleging rigging in the competition, as well as racial bias in the competition. In regards to the racial stuff, she says that people in the pageant were uncomfortable with the fact that she spoke Spanish with...
certain vendors on site, and it may distract from the caliber of the pageant and the all-American girl image. Really? Yeah, so half a million dollars she wants for being dethroned as Miss California. I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps, and I believe that our education, such as South Africa, and the Iraq everywhere like such as. And I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa. It should help the Iraq and the Asian countries. So we will be able to build up our future for our children. You know, after that moment, she was very likable. She made it on the Today Show a lot. Maybe Hillary Clinton should consider referring to it as the Iraq. I like it. It could raise her numbers in the polls. You never know. Have you seen the commercials for the Miss USA pageant or Miss America, whatever it is? Yes. And they're using that clip as their selling point. Come on. You never know what's going to happen. And then they show her. It's pretty brutal. Wow. The San Diego Police Department is warning all of us about a telephone scam. What's the deal?
Well, they say that someone is going around calling people in San Diego County. Rob. Sorry. Claiming to be an officer from the San Diego Police Department asking for donations for charity. I was just transferred here from the Boston Police Department. So, of course, the San Diego Police Department says they have a policy. They will never solicit for money over the phone. So don't fall for it. Yes, I'm on the phone. If you ever get a call from a charity soliciting money, you can always go to the Better Business Bureau website to see what charities are actually real and, you know, legit. Vanilla Ice arrested last night for battery. No! No! No! No! No! And he lives in Florida. The coppers got a call to come out. They're going to execute him then. If he lives in Florida.
Dude, you know what's going to happen. Right. He faces life in prison. Wow. So the police go out to his house on some sort of domestic dispute call. And next thing you know, at a quarter to 11 last night, Vanilla Ice was booked on charges of domestic battery. According to sources, he allegedly pushed his wife during an argument. Oh, hell. Ladies and gents. You can text message us. We'd love to see what's on your mind. Text us at 35253. I got an email later on that some of you fellas can relate to. A guy wrote us. Basically, what you're going to do is pick one of us on the show to represent you. Who do you think will do good? Now, the way the game works is they're going to give us, like, a word. Like, let's say the word is night. We have to go around in a circle and give any movie with the word night in it. Like Night of the Living Dead. Exactly. You go around the room, and if you can't think of one, you're out. It's an elimination game. We own the night. That's right. A night's tale. We're not playing. We're not playing. But we're not playing. But we're not playing right now. Oh, boy.

That's not even true, dude. I get it. Everybody's pregnant. You don't get anybody pregnant. Everybody's pregnant. Yeah, man, because I'm all like, hey, April, don't put on my boxer, dude, or I'll get you pregnant. And she was all. He's threatened her. Yeah, and she was all, dude, I dare you. And I ripped off my shirt, and I had my cut abs and everything, dude. Yeah. And she could barely handle it, dude. The Mikey Show. Rock 105.3. Hey, Uncle Eddie. Oh, what's up, Beto? Hey, dude, will you take me?
to visit all my friends in prison this weekend, dude. You don't have any friends in prison. You're a 14-year-old kid. I'm not, dude. Well, yes, you are. No, I'm not. I'm going to turn 20 next week. No, you aren't. I saw you when you were born. No, you didn't, dude. Yes, I was there. Hey, so, uh, hey, my, my, my friend, my friend pocket change in prison, dude. He wants me to come visit him this weekend, dude. Yeah. And I was all. Okay, okay, we'll go then. Oh, dude, I just got a text. It's all. Let me read the text, dude. It's all. What are you doing? Well, you're probably not going to like this. A California assemblyman has proposed a law that would increase the tax on beer. Wow. The Denver Nuggets beat the Warriors in a battle for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West, 114-105 last night. What if we did this, though? Time for another Mikey game. A little something called the Movie Word Association game. Movie Word Association game. Scene one, take one over. Here's the way it works.
What do we have as a prize, Eddie? We got tickets to see Zach Gala for that. There you go. You call in right now and you pick a horse. You pick any of us on the show and the movie association game. Basically, we get a word and we got to go around in a circle and say a movie with that word in it. You probably play this around the campfire. That's right. That's right. That's right. P1 Silverado. I got Eddie. Yeah. You got it. I'm the Susan Lucci of this game. Don't pick me. Hang on the line. Hang on the line. P1 Golfer. I got Scott. All right. Hang on. P1 Aaron. I got you, Mikey. There you go. Hang on the line. P1 Birdman. I will jump aboard the panic. You will jump aboard the panic. Then you've got Sean. Yes, sir. Now, Birdman, for the benefit of new listeners that have never listened to the show. Really? That's a great point, Mike. You're psyching him out before the game. No, Eddie, I'm just saying that there's a lot of people that listen all the time, and they don't know. There's people listening right now that have never heard the show before, and they don't want to feel left out of the club. Fine. Sean's a pervert. Let's move on. No, Eddie, that's not true. What is he? He's a fervor. I always forget. That's right. All right, hang on the line. Sean is your guy. Hang on. Next up, P1 Throwdown. Who do you want? I'm going to take Boston Rob. There you go. Hang on the line. And P1 Wheezy?
That means you've got Ashley. Yep, I'll take you. That's right. She's not as bad at the game as one would expect. She's actually pretty good at it. She does all right. All right, are you guys ready? Yep. We're going to start. We're going to start with me. Zeth is going to give us the word. The word is. The word is. The reason, the way that we'll understand him, Sky, is he's only got to say one word. So he can't, he usually starts. And your point is. Well, it's the word. In the title. Is there a way just to turn on closed captioning on him? Right. All right, let's begin. Zeth, what is the word? The first one is movies with cities in the title. All right, are we ready? I'm going to start. We go around. It's a game of elimination. Here we go. I will say Chicago. Escape from New York. Lost in L.A.? Lost in L.A.?
I'm afraid Sky is out. Live and die in L.A. L.A. Confidential. There you go. 310 to Yuma. Hang on. The way that we do this is that we go in the order that we introduce everybody every morning so that everybody can play along pretty easily. Sky's gone. Six people remaining in the game. Me, Eddie, Sean, Ashley, Boston, Rob. Excuse me. Five people left in the game. Zeth doesn't play. He's the one that gives out the words. All right. We're going to start this time with Eddie. Zeth, what's our word? Hot. Some like it hot. Sean? Um... Sean. Sean is out. You get five seconds. You get five seconds. If you can't come up with one in five seconds, you're out. This is hard. All right, that means it's down to me, Eddie, Ashley, and Rob. I'm the best. That's right. You haven't gone yet.
So this time we will start with Ashley. Ashley, we'll start this time. What is our word, Zeth? It's movies with a month of the year in the title. Holy cow. Movies with a month of the year in the title. Ashley. November rain. That's a song by Guns N' Roses. But it's not a movie. Actually, I know that one. Wow. That was the quickest out ever. I was like Mike Tyson in his heyday, like knocking somebody out. All right, it's down to three. It's me, Eddie, and Boston Rob. Zeth, what is our word? Oh, and this time Rob starts. Oh, no. Zeth, what's our word? I'm out. War. War games. War and peace. War of the roses. War and love. Oh, one of my favorites. Oh, my. I don't want to get emails.
So I'm going to make sure that War and Peace is a movie. I know, I was thinking that too. We better check, man, because I don't want this pressure. I don't want people calling me going, because that means that I would be the first out, and that means that technically, Rob would still be alive. War and Love would still be in the game. I'm on IMDb. He's on IMDb. Yes, it is a movie. Yes, yes. Yes, well, I knew it. Of course. All right, that means it's down to me and Eddie. Oh, gosh. You're up, right? I start, yes. Zeth, what is the word? Day. Day. I was going to say Dog Day Afternoon, and I'm like, that's a song that Eddie messes around with. You know what I mean? Ridiculous. Ridiculous. P1 Silverado. Are you there, Silverado? 48 days. Eddie won for you. Awesome. Eddie, what is the prize he gets to go see Zach Galifianakis? That's the other word. Congratulations. Eddie won for you. Traffic moving right along for a pretty quiet ride out here this morning with a Friday morning light commute underway. We've got good speeds out of the South Bay, 505 northbound. Cruising right along, man. No worries at all. 805 backed up a little bit out of Kearney Mesa with a 52, but that's no surprise. The West 8 is looking good here all the way into Mission Valley. Maybe a brief slowdown in Lake Marie, but nothing too serious. The 94 is clear all the way to downtown. West 52 looking fine at Assante. Heading south on the 15, you'll find just a brief slowdown through that construction zone in Rancho Bernardo. And the coaster rides up on 305, a little bit heavier now out of Encinitas towards Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3.

with Michigan tackle Jake Long for the first overall pick. He's an offensive tackle, right? Welcome back. 35253 is our text number. So if you want to text us, feel free. We've got Battle of the Sexes coming up here in just a second. And my friend Chris is hanging out with us today. Russ and Chris are in here. And Chris, let's give the... I want to tell everybody, we were earlier talking about how you had this Babe Ruth baseball. Tell everybody what the baseball was. Did you do the baseball? Yeah, the baseball. What exactly was it? Wait, wait, wait. Here we go. Here we go. You tell me when. There you go. I'm on. Here we go. I had a baseball that my grandfather caught on the first All-Star game ever played, July 6, 1933. And Babe Ruth was in that All-Star game, and he hit the first home run ever in the first All-Star game ever. Grandfather had the ball, had it signed by Babe Ruth, had the newspaper article that went with it.
He lived in Gary, Indiana at the time, just a few miles outside of Chicago. And they did an article on hometown boy brings home souvenir of a lifetime and still got the ticket stubs. I think a buck, a buck 75 to the game. The reason that I was telling Chris to tell the story is because yesterday we had this guy named Eric call and he was like, hey, I don't know what to do. My grandfather had this bayonet, gave it to my dad. They're both gone now. My dad told me to keep it in the family. I have this bayonet. This guy wants to buy it for me. I don't remember, though. Was he in dire straits or anything? He wanted to pay his taxes. $2,000 in the hole. There you go. He wanted to pay his taxes. And so it seems like the consensus was don't sell it. Everybody got him on board with don't sell it. So Chris has this Babe Ruth signed baseball. First home run ever hit in an All-Star game in the very first All-Star game. It's priceless. What'd you do, Chris? Found out it wasn't priceless. No way. Wow. How much did you get for the baseball? Well, it was one of those things you'd never sell. Father's the only child, so he got the ball. So why? Don't judge. I wanted to judge you. You're up to the same place here. At least I'm going to tell him the story in front of like six of you. Nobody's listening. Okay, just between us. Just between us in this room. Here's the deal. Mom and Dad in poor health. Mom needed two surgeries. And they're not that old. You are.
Yeah. It's going to get worse for you. It'll get worse for you. Dad's a professor. He's a teacher at a junior college, and they got a lot of cutbacks. They still live in Texas, and so he doesn't have insurance. And I'm just looking at, we've got little kids. I've got a six-year-old, a five-year-old, a two-and-a-half-year-old, and they're the only set of grandparents. And I'm like, doggone it. We've got to keep them around. And I've got this ball in the closet, which I swore I would never even consider selling. I mean, that goes to my boy when he's of age, and it's that family thing. Right. But went to a friend. A friend's father passed away. Went to his memorial service with him. And I just realized, I've got a stupid baseball in the closet. And here I'm letting my mom and dad, you know, struggle with bills, struggle with finances, can't get the surgeries they need. Mom can't walk up steps or walk for even long periods of time. And she's only in her 60s. Why was it in your closet? Why not displayed? Well, A, I don't want to keep something like that out. Because the type of friends I have, like Russ here and stuff, it's like... That's a good point. That's a good point.
People would come into my house after barbecue and go, what's with the empty box on the mantel? And I'm like, there used to be something there. But everybody would always ask, and I'd always tell them, no, I keep that in the safe box, which is a cardboard box in my closet. Oh, good. But I tell everybody it's a safe box. Very safe box. So I did kind of an auction 101. Took three months talking to a bunch of people in the auction business. Came down to three major houses and at the All-Star Game in Pittsburgh. They do a big auction there and decided to let it go with Hunt Auctions. And took my dad out there, my little brother, figured my grandfather caught it at the All-Star Game. Let's at least take it to the All-Star Game and we'll end the chapter that way. My dad's just in tears, man. And that rocked me. I'm thinking I'm the worst freaking son ever. If my dad, if this ball goes for like, you know, 20 grand and I'm like, I'm going to kick myself for the rest of my life. And we need at least probably like 75, 80 to pay for what we need to pay for. And you needed at least 75,000? Yeah. Wow. Yeah, to cover some surgeries and stuff and then some rehab. So I'm like, okay, that's kind of the ballpark, what we're looking at. And the day of the auction, my dad's sitting in this auction floor just with tears rolling down his face. And there's no way out of this. You know, at this point, it's been advertised. I'm like, Dad, are you okay? And he said, there's just a whole lot of memories in that ball. And every Christmas and every birthday, his father would bring out the ball and toss it back and forth, just bare hand with him. And grandfather died before I was born. So that was like my only link to granddad.
I know it gets worse. Got any violin music? And so I told him, I said, you know, we're selling a ball that lived in a closet. We're not selling memories today. You know, we're making new ones. And I just kept my fingers crossed and I prayed, God, don't let me be the worst son ever on this day in history. And the bidding started and it just kind of kept going and going and going. And the auctioneer at first said, he goes, hey, we're going to start this bid at $100,000. And that was my dad's ceiling mark. He's like, man, if we could get $100,000. I guess this is worth it. And the auction started at $100,000. And it went like $105,000, $110,000, $115,000, $120,000, $125,000, $130,000. And then it went by $10,000, $140,000, $160,000. $180,000. Oh, come on. And about $205,000. And the thing just kind of bop. $205,000. And I'm sitting there holding the camera, bidding on this, bidding on my dad, bidding on the auction thing. And then two people, there's about 13 people on the phone, a couple hundred people in the audience. Two individuals just went on this little war with their paddles. And the sucker went through the 200s, 300s, 400s, 500s. Hammer went down, $805,000. And I don't feel like that bad of a son anymore. But I showed Mikey the newspaper article on it and stuff and pulled it up. And I saw a picture of the ball on your screen. And it made me wince a little. Because before the Brinks truck came and took that baby away to the auction house.
I lined up all my kids in the backyard, and I had them hold onto the ball and take a picture with it. And when it came to my boy, I got two girls and a boy. He's only two, and so it's got a little glass bulb around it so it doesn't slobber all over the signature. But I realized that's as close as he'll ever get now to what was supposed to be his. But he's got a grandma and grandfather. Mom went through some surgeries already. She's walking upstairs. When she comes out and visits, she can pick up the kids, and she takes them to the park. Get him a savings bond. He'll be happy. We paid off their house in Texas and we put the rest away. All of us kids decided we're not going to see a dime of it. Give it to mom and dad. It was one of the best choices I ever made. But there's a big difference. Yesterday I got friends calling me going, dude, you've got to get on the Mikey show. You've got to listen to what's going on. Between an $800 bayonet and an $805,000 ball. Because if it went for a price that I could have made up somewhere in the next 10 years, there's no way I could have done that. If I would have looked back and said, there was a way I could have got that money. But it went at a level that, there's no way I could even, you know. Did Charlie Shane bit on it? No, Charlie wasn't that. He's a baseball dude. He always loves that stuff. Yeah, it's true. So there's the story of what used to be the family heirloom. I love it. You guys ready to do some, are you ready to go to battle, Eddie? Yeah. Little Team Awesome versus a Little Team Sass. Time to play the Mikey Show Battle of the Sexes.
Let's do it. Let's do it. We're going to bring Chantel in here. Look at Chantel showing us her guns. Wow. Come on in here, Chantel. Eddie said he's going to try a different tactic with Chantel. Watch this. Wow, she looks great. She's looking smart today. That's right. I believe in you. Excuse me. I think you're going to keep that. Every day. You do. I misspoke. I misspoke. I'm going to let you slice into your birthday week. Happy belated. Thank you so much. That's as much love as you're going to get. That's okay. I appreciate anything you give me. You're a wonderful person. Thank you. I tried. It's a little different approach today. It's called love. I love it. We're going to do a little battle of the sexes now. Here's the way it works.
Right back at you. Well, we don't need it, but thank you. It is a fitting occasion to have Chantel in here. Chantel, you guys have not won one of these yet. Mike, why do you have to bring that up? Really? I mean, I know. They're going to catch on fire. My mom tells me. People call me. That's right. She doesn't need to hear that. That's right. Well, let's do this. Let's get right into it. What do you guys say? Let's get right into it. Let's go. The battle of the sexes, this is the way that it works. We are going to be doing this over a period of months, which is going to eventually end in disappointment for one of these teams. I don't know which one. Team Awesome. Yeah, probably us. Hello. I'm just throwing it out there. Yeah, I agree. And a as of yet to be determined payoff will then happen. Right. Yeah, that's going to be embarrassing. For you, yes. Absolutely. I can't wait to see y'all dressed up. I know. I can't wait. Oh my gosh. We are going to start with the guys this time. I think we started with the girls last time. That is correct. Guys get to go first this time. Now, the way that the Battle of the Sexes works is we ask guys questions that are traditionally female-oriented. We ask the girls questions that are usually guy-oriented. We've been really lucky so far. You have been. That is true.
I'm glad you are admitting things today. It is a great week. Chantal, isn't it refreshing? It is. I'm loving it. Wow. You found me some love. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, I really appreciate it. Eddie, we will begin with you. Oh, I'm going to start? Yes, you are. Well, I thought we were doing the rotation. Are we over that? Oh, that's right. Are we over it? I say yes. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Didn't I say that when we would start the next time, we would rotate? Yeah. We'll lead off with B-Rob. Okay. We picked Rob to be our lead-off hitter. All right. Here is your question, Boston Rob. What is a chignon? What is a chignon? That's the whole question. I'm like, there's got to be more. And I saw that there's an answer. I like mine extra spicy. That's it? Yes, the question, Boston Rob, is what is a chignon? Come on.
Get it? That's the whole question? That's it. That's it. A chignon? Yes. Well said. It is. Come on, Rob. Got it. Ah, date back to a long time ago. I believe it comes from China. So dumb. So dumb. And here we go. Sorry about this, ladies. Eddie, that is very courteous of you. That's very courteous. Ladies and gentlemen. Do you mean so wrong? No, I don't. Do you mean Cinnabon, Mike? You mispronounced it. It's Cinnabon. A type of soy sauce? That is incorrect, Rob. Dang it. Great guess. Yeah, that is incorrect. Actually, Rob, and I'm finding this out for the first time myself, a chignon is a roll of hair worn at the nape of the neck in a bun style. That's a chignon. Come on. You guys don't even know that.
The chicks did not know that. We're like that all the time. You look good. All right, let's go over to Team Sass. And we will begin with Ashley. Ashley. Well, because we're rotating. Ashley, your question is, finish the phrase from G.I. Joe. Knowing is blank. is blank. You used to watch G.I. Joe, didn't you? Ashley is looking. She's studying. She's thinking. Raised eyebrow. Raised eyebrow. Oh, now she's taking off the headphones. She's saying, I can't be distracted. She's got it. I can't be distracted. Knowing is believing. Ashley, I'm sorry. No. Knowing is winning. Knowing is believing. Knowing is winning. No, those are incorrect. No. You're very close. The actual phrase is knowing is
Half the battle. Oh, I heard that. I didn't know that was from G.I. Joe. I thought it was from H.I. Joe. I don't even know H.I. Joe. So we go back now to the guys and Team Awesome. Shawnee, oh boy. Shawnee, oh boy. Shawnee, oh boy. Horse tied. Let's go. Shawnee, which of these would you not find in a Waldorf salad? I love Waldorf salads. You would. Sean, which of the following would you not find in a Waldorf salad? Apple, walnut, lettuce, celery. Which of the following would you not find in a Waldorf salad? Apple, walnut, lettuce, or celery? Hmm. Shawnee O'Boy is thinking. Think about it. He knows it. Nice balsamic, dude. They're real good. Real sweet. Shawnee, you could either pretend to not know the answer for five minutes, or you could just say it. Wow. I know that you know it. Do you really need to do that? We all know that you know it. I think we were being cool with you. I don't know why you have to care about it. That's the way she gives love. Wow. Hello? It hurts a little. I'm not going to lie.
I'm good. Shawnee, which of these would you not find in a Waldorf salad? I've never had a Waldorf salad. Of course, you're a guy. Oh, wait. Eddie loves them now. I eat them all the time, too. OG's Waldorf is delicious. I'm not joking. Shawnee, oh boy, I need an answer. Honestly, I don't know, so I'll just go with A, apple. Well done. That is incorrect, Shawnee. Sean, actually, you will not find lettuce in a Waldorf salad. What? That's not true. No, it's celery. It's celery. It's got to be celery. You will not find, that's what I meant to say. You will not find celery in a Waldorf salad. Hey. Nice grape in there. Ooh. Real good. Sometimes I throw in pears. Get with it. You're crazy. Get with it. You're crazy. Get with it. The walnuts need to be candied. Thank you.
I'm just saying, they're delicious. Let's go back to Team Sass. You guys are on opposing teams. We just love each other so much. Team Sass, we now go to Sky. Sky, your question is, which of these is the name of the Dallas NHL franchise? We can't tell you. Chantel's already trying to help. I'm so sorry. It's okay. I knew that. It slipped. Team Sass, stay quiet. So the Dallas hockey team. I'm going to give you some options. Okay. Which of these is the name of the Dallas NHL franchise? Yeah. Is it the Stars, the Rockets, the Panthers, or the Avalanche? Again, one more time on my choices, please. Which of the following is the name of the Dallas NHL franchise?
The stars, the rockets, the panthers, or the avalanche? Okay, I'm torn between the stars or the avalanche. Skye is thinking. She is looking at the... She's crinkling her nose. That's not a good sign. I kind of think the avalanche is, like, too contrived to, you know... I'm going stars. You are correct. Yay! I like that. Well done, Team Sass. Back to the fellas. Back to the fellas. What up? This question is for Eddie. Yes! Eddie is showing the guns off. Impressive. Thank you. Eddie, your question is, what do you call a stylish skirt that is cut in a straight line from the hips to the hem? What do you call that?
Once again, it's the style of skirt that's cut in a straight line from the hips to the hem. Eddie is now sitting back. He's rolling the eyes. He's shaking his head. It may be in there. Eddie is searching the data. He's using the force, I can tell. He's squeezing the eyes. He's taking the headphones off like Ashley. He's going out. He's taking the headphones off. No distractions. It works. Eddie? Mini skirt. Oh. Well done. Eddie, you are. You say that one, then we get it wrong. So I know I'm wrong. Eddie, that is incorrect. I know. It is called.
A pencil skirt. What? A pencil skirt. Why do they call it that, ladies? It's just straight. It's straight like a pencil. Like, what is it? I've never heard that in my life. I still don't even know what that is. I've never heard that in my life. It's just like a standard straight skirt. As opposed to... One that could go out like an A-line. Cut little ruffles at the bottom. Are they speaking English? Yeah, I know. What are you guys talking about? Never heard that in my life. Back over to Team Sass and guess who's up. What? You can have a commanding lead right now. Our very own San Diego Charger girl. She's going to nail it. Chantel. Chantel. Yes. First of all, how do you feel about Eddie today? I'm loving Eddie today. Isn't there something? Something glowing about him, right? Yeah. I like it. Chantel, your question is, what is the military phonetic alphabet code for the letter... What is the military phonetic alphabet code for the letter F? Fabulous. Thank you. For sure. Freaking dress and leggings. Once again, Chantel, your question is, what is the military phonetic alphabet code for the letter F? You know this. You know this, Chantel. You've heard of it.
Gotta know. You've heard it. Chantel is sitting back in her chair. Now she's thinking. Could be in there. It's a hard one. It's a tough one. I really don't know this. She does not know. I really don't. I'm sorry, Chantel. I'm just really trying to, like, seriously. Chantel, the answer is Foxtrot. What? You know, like when you hear him go, Alpha, Foxtrot, Romeo, Bravo. Negative. I've never heard that. She did not even in there. That one slipped right over. Apple bottom. Yeah, what's up, Apple bottom? Drop it. You just start dancing, right, Chantel? You can't even help it, right? Hell yeah. You just start dancing. You can't. That's what I'm talking about. Stop with that dance. Stop. We are going to take a quick timeout. Chantal hates when Eddie does his dances. She hates his dances. Well, I used to think it was jealousy. Now I think maybe I'm just not a good dancer. Thank you. We will take a quick timeout when we come back round two. Will the guys be able to catch up? Back after this. Okay. The Mikey Show is on. Thank you. These days, more than ever, it's not how much or how little you spend on something.

But for Friday, you know, you can't complain too much here. No major problems, just some brake lights out of the South Bay now on the 5 freeway northbound. There was an accident clearing just before Main Street and Chula Vista, but the real slowdown comes as you approach the 54 South Bay Freeway. And that's kind of a...
Kind of a tough one in the National City, but from there you're good to go in the downtown. Northbound 805, pretty much clear out of the South Bay until you get to Kearney Mesa. Then it jams up on you for a slow ride over the 52. West 94 on the King Freeway, easy ride in the downtown on that one. The West 8, though, is starting to see brake lights now from Jackson Drive out of La Mesa out towards Lake Murray. Westbound 52, a little bit tight as you come up the hill to the top of the summit. Then again toward the 15. Southbound side of the 15, easy nap out of Escondido. Slows down through Rancho Bernardo, though, in that construction zone. And the coaster ride, south on Saturday 5, staying a little bit tough out of Encinitas down towards Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. I just want to let you know some of the things that AMCO does that you may not know that they do. Part of what makes AMCO a great company. Now, I'm talking about transmissions, because a lot of people, they go, well, what do you use AMCO for? It's for transmissions. If your check engine light comes on, that's where you take your car. Now, the thing that you may not know is... The fact that the guys that work there, the techs, the guys that actually work on your car, these guys are constantly on top of new stuff. So if you have a car that's maybe a couple of years old, if you take it to some little place, you don't know what's going on, they may not know what the latest stuff is for your car. That's why you've got to go to Amco. These guys are tested periodically just to make sure that they know what's up.
I urge you to go to Amco. They do transmissions, oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, cooling systems. They do all that stuff. So go check them out. They're everywhere. Tell them I sent you in there. And what isn't broke, they're not going to try to fix. They don't want to replace everything. They just want to fix it for you. And they are AA MCO. Mikey, I'm a male who has a girlfriend, but I flirt at work to lift the spirits of my coworkers. That's what I do. Wait a second, Eddie. Every day. Skye, if you'd like to, you can take the time publicly to say thank you. That is, I want to actually take a pair of scissors and cut this text out and put it on the wall. That is genius. I'm a male who has a girlfriend, but I flirt at work to lift the spirits of my coworkers. You are a sweet man. Good man. That guy. How do you even get in your car with those giant wings? Now the Mikey Show. Rock 105.3. What's happening with Team Sass? Slightly. I'm loving it though. Welcome back. It is 741. The details have finally been released almost a month after an off-duty San Diego cop.
Shot a woman and child in Oceanside. Master's first round was yesterday. Tiger, he had no birdies and was even for the round. Is four behind the leader. This company that brought us food today is amazing. I love this company. Restaurants on the run. Oh, yeah. It is so cool, man. Especially if you are busy and you get home from work and you're like, I just don't want to cook today. And I want to have something really good, but I just don't feel like cooking. And I definitely, I just got home. I just changed into my comfortable clothes. I don't want to go out again and have to go get some stuff. Restaurants on the run. It's awesome. They do, and it's not just that. They also do the corporate delivery. They're your corporate delivery specialists. So if you're working in a big office building, you want them to bring you guys some food. This is it. They're on time. They get the stuff right. It's very convenient. And they deliver to all areas of San Diego now. Like they just started doing Chula Vista. So it doesn't matter where you are. And they also have this thing that I thought was really cool because I was looking at this, the free rewards program. So you earn points on every dollar that you're spending, which is kind of cool. Online ordering. You just go online to rotr.com and you can do all the stuff online. Pick what you want to eat.
order tracking and account maintenance, all that stuff. They do breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And it's all these different restaurants. So you pick from all these different restaurants in San Diego that you really like and they'll deliver the food from that place to you. And again, they're called Restaurants on the Run and I love them. R-O-T-R dot com. So there it is. Are you guys ready to get back into it? We're ready. Team Awesome versus Team Sass. What's the score? Bring it. Well, Sky. I was wondering. Yeah, I forgot. Team Sass. Is winning. Yes. Oh, that's good. Wow. Yes. I'm good. Eddie, you're silent. Is winning. Well, I'm just so happy for you guys. I'm hoping that you keep that lead. That is very nice. That is very nice. Look at Chantel. I have a feeling. She loves it. Yeah, maybe she does. Maybe Chantel really loves it. Let's do this. To where are we going? To the guys or the girls? It's us. Yes. Over to the guys. Mars. It's us. Hello. Here we go. Brutal. Boston Rob. I accept your mock. Oh, no. Boston Rob, your question is... Now, just for people that are new listening to this show, I just want to let them know. Boston Rob, if you let him, will take eight hours to answer one question. That guy's thinking about it. Yeah, thank you. You've got to break the word down. You've got to break the question down. We've got to keep him roped in. We've got to keep him roped in. That's right. Rob, your question is... Come on, Rob. What do you call a...
What do you call a close-fitting dress shoe with a moderate heel? What do you call... What am I, a gay dude? Oh, no! Like... Calm down. Rob? Well, there was questions for a while, but... Rob, what do you call a close-fitting dress shoe with a moderate heel? Rob is looking at me right now like, why do you treat me this way, Mike? Sounds gay. What have I done to you to deserve this? Did we get a hint? Yeah. I like to phone a friend. I can't give you hints. A high-heeled dress, casual shoe, moderately heeled. What do you call that, Rob? That's what you want, for sure. Make up a word. A slick daddy. Yeah, I like that. Oh, is it a women's shoe? I don't know. Alright, Rob, do you give up? Yeah, I have to. I'm sorry, Rob. That is going to count as a wrong answer. It is not a slick mama. It's known as a pump, Rob. A pump. That's like the most common. That's right. You should get a pair, Rob. It would make you taller. Uncalled for. Over to Team Sass. That's love. Who's up? Ashley. Your question is...
Chantel is going to die when she hears the question from Ashley. Oh, she's already mad. She's already mad. Ashley, your question is, in football... Oh, Chantel is so mad. She's so mad. Ashley, in football, what do you call the strategy where each player has an area of the field that they defend? Oh, look at this. Chantel is ready to... She's trying to will it. She's trying to will it. to Ashley. She tried to will it to Ashley. She's not taking her palm and pushing it towards Ashley like the force. I'm sure that'll work. Ashley, the question one more time. In football, what do you call the strategy where each player has an area of the field to defend? Oh, gosh. I know that I'm going to know this when you say it back to me. Area code. Area 51. But I will say, okay, it's a defense mechanism. It's a defense mechanism, you know. Is this Norb Turner talking? I don't know any of this. Box out. Her answer is box out. I'm sorry, Ashley. That's incorrect. It is not the box out defense. I watch football talk. They actually call that the zone defense. That is known as the zone defense. That is the zone defense. Back over to Team Awesome. Now Team Awesome's got to get one right here to tie it up.
Come on, Sean. You can do this. Shawnee, oh boy. You are a resident female. Are you ready, Sean? Yes, I'm ready, Mike. Sean, your question is, what is the front end of a figure skate blade called? Oh, my God. That's easy. What is the front end of a figure skate blade? That's right, Sean. Don't give any answers. What is the front end? of a figure skate blade called. Are you kidding me? Chantel knows this, obviously. It's a chick question. That's the kind of question a chick would know. I did know the last one as well. Shawnee, oh boy, is sitting back in his chair with a look on his face like, what kind of ridiculous... What, Sean, you've never ice skated before? I've never ice skated, no. You're telling me that on your very first date, you didn't know what. You did not. You didn't. I can picture it. Yes.
Romantic. Go out on a frozen lake together. Great visual. Snap both my ankles. Sean, front end of a figure skate. I will say it's the toe. You are very close, Sean. I thought he was going to cut over the next word. I really did. You're very close, but it's a toe pick. It's a toe pick. Almost there. Almost there. You're almost there. Didn't you ever see Cutting Edge? Yes. Let him fall all the time. Back to Team Sass. Let's see. Sky. Sky is up. Bring it on. You're the man. One man. One man. This may not be good for Team Awesome. I believe Sky may have the answer. But you've said that several times. And they don't ever get it right. You're jinxing us, Mikey. Sky. Yeah, let's see. What? What do you call the projected difference in scores between two teams about to play?
What do you call the projected difference in scores between two teams about to play? What do you call that? You know this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It took me a second, but then I had to think of Vegas and betting, the spread. I will give you that, Sky. That is correct. They call it the point spread, and you definitely get what the idea is. Way to go, Sky. Well, the score is Team Sass 2, Team Awesome nothing, thanks to Sky. This is great. Sky's got those two for them. This is a great feeling. We go back over to Team Awesome. I'll take a two-pointer, Mike. No. Don't do that, Eddie. You girls realize we won. Yes. Mathematically, we won. Mathematically, you have won the game. We still want you to... We're a team. Eddie, you don't want to say that to Chantel. You're a team. You still have a chance to go and really destroy us. Now, that was not love. That was not love, Eddie. That was not love. I meant it. Eddie? I meant it. Here we go. Eddie, your question is... What? Eddie, what cosmetic company is endorsed by Kate Moss? Cocaine. No, that is incorrect. That's almost been right. That was a good guess. Well, actually, technically, that's a... I mean, I've seen her up there. I've seen her ads for that. That's right. It's a new line of nose powder. That was an ad. That was TMZ, guys. I'm sorry. Eddie? Do I get it like multiple choice? There is not a multiple choice. Sorry. Kate?
Go ahead. Oh, I don't know. I'll say back. Back. That is incorrect, Eddie. I don't know. You're in a role today. Kate Moss endorses Rimmel London. Rimmel, yeah. We're going to try to get it out. I said it. Yes. Rimmel London. Oh, come on. That's what it is. I've seen it with the little... Yeah, right. Yeah, I've seen it before the show. Now... Come on. To be fair, we do have to ask Team... Oh, look it. You crushed her spirit. You crushed her spirit. Is this the way you act when you're mean and you lose? Yes. Now, let's go over to Team Sass. Team Sass still gets another question. Why? Why do we have to do it? We got to do it, Eddie. Now, who's up? Ashley. I don't know. I am. Chantel. Chantel. Chantel. Chantel, what do you call an aerodynamic add-on that goes on the trunk or back of a vehicle to reduce drag? Easy. Like the fin. No, stop it. Work it out. It's the hoof. No. Come on, work it out. You got this. I want to say... A dorsal fin. Will you stop it? I won't stop.
I want you to back away from the mic. No, I will not. Chantel, what do you call an aerodynamic add-on that goes on the trunk or back of a vehicle to reduce drag? The brake. Listen. The hood. Rhymes with broiler. Sky is... Do that? It rhymes with broiler. That makes me think like a foiler. It is, yeah. It's the foiler. Shut up. No, no. Shut the front door. It is not. No, that's not it. It's the spoiler. It's the spoiler. Really good. It feels really good. The show is on. This is the rock. Zero to 60. It's one of the many things you consider when shopping for a luxury vehicle. Ladies and gentlemen, Pedro the Cricket is the mascot for the wireless company Cricket. And he text messaged me a bunch of stuff in Spanish. I don't even know what it means. Oh, really? Yeah. I said, I'll take the number four. I didn't know what it all meant. Does he think because you're Mexican that you automatically know Spanish? I think he assumed that, yeah. And I told him, I said, well, I am a Mexican by my, you know, I only have Mexican blood, but I don't speak Spanish. And he wrote back, you're a coconut. And that's the last thing I saw. And that's the last thing I read. So who knows what that means? Who knows what that means? But I can tell you this about cricket.

From month to month until finally you had to call them and go, what's going on? And every time you open the bill that month, it's like always a mystery. And when you pull out of the mailbox, you're like, oh, no, it's kind of thick. I'm in trouble. I've heard that before. That is not cricket. With cricket, you don't deal with it. words that we were using. It was Tay Boyan. Oh my God, that's it. That's it. Tay Boyan. Tay Boyan. Tay Boyan. It's all words associated with Sky. Kaiser Healthcare. Sun blog. Sean. For those listeners that are new to the Mikey Show, what are some of the more, you know, give us an example of some of Sky's capabilities of speaking other languages. Sky has a hard time sometimes when a news story deals with somebody with a different sort of name.
Just rolls off the tongue. It is 8.03. Actress Misha Barton was sentenced to three years probation yesterday as part of a plea bargain in her DUI case. Our request line is 570-1053 and it doesn't matter where you live in San Diego. You can use any area code. It will work.
Our text number is 35253. So here is the text, or excuse me, the email that we got and that I was telling you about earlier that many of you guys may be able to relate to. It says, Mikey, what's up, dude? Long time P1. Wanted to write you and tell you about my wife. She may be the grumpiest person in the morning in the entire world. Oh, no. The world, I'm sure. I can't even speak to her in the morning before she's had a cup of coffee and a shower. She is like a pit bull. I was talking to my buddies at work about it after getting yelled at that morning for not putting enough milk in my own cereal. They were telling me that their wives were not mourning people either. Is this a woman thing? I wanted to see what you guys think. Thanks, P1 Nick. Yeah, getting yelled at for not putting enough milk in your own cereal is an indication that maybe she's grumpy. A little bit. Not quite awake. My wife, Rebecca, is...
Definitely in this category. Oh, really? Well, dude, Rebecca has, you know, admittedly, she will tell you that she's not really, she's there, but she's not really there for about an hour. It takes her a while to sort of wake up. Whereas me, I wake up, boom, I'm like, I'm better in the morning. Later at night is when I'm not thinking as well. And part of that's the ADD medications worn off by then. But, yeah, Rebecca, you can't talk to her for about an hour. And she is grumpy. She'll tell you herself. I don't want to talk. Sometimes a little harsher than that. But she will tell you. She's not ready to be discussing it yet. And if you wake her up, forget it. If you wake her up, forget it. So, is this a woman thing? Or is this just a people thing? What do you think, Eddie? Ah. I believe it's predominantly women that are nasty in the morning. It's true. She was another word, please. Bitchy. Not one either, thank you. Hormonal. Jerks. Sky, what say you?
I say good day to you, sir. Ah, well, good morning then. No. I don't think Skye's that bad, but we're seeing her after she, you know, has been awake a little bit. Yeah, it's weird. I'm, you know, a morning person now because I've been doing this morning schedule for quite a while. And so I'm good in the morning. waking up from a nap in the afternoon everybody watch yourself really and i agree with rebecca especially if you wake me up from a nap yeah my husband knows like after a nap he shouldn't even bother talking to me for at least a half hour yeah i'm uh well i guess what i want to hear from people then is give me a good story what do you got 570-1053 and if you are that lady 570-1053 If you're the guy that says, oh, yeah, I got one for you. One time. That kind of deal. 570-1053. Give us a call. P1 Quimby. You may know her as P1 Quimby. Hi. Quimby, how are you? I'm okay. I mean, thank God I've been awake for two hours now. Yeah. What time do you have to get up? Usually I get up about between 6 and 6.15.
Get ready to be to work about 8.30. It has been so bad that when I was in high school, my mother refused to wake me up in the morning because I would yell and scream and cuss her out in the morning. Wow. I am not fun. My friends, family, my boyfriend, everybody knows that if I wake up in the morning, don't even look at me. Really? I would stab you with my eyes. How long does it take? Yeah, it takes me about a good hour and a half, two hours to, like, fully be awake and, like, a nice human being to other people. Can you imagine, though, being the other half of that relationship and sort of looking at your watch and going, well, I got 20 more minutes until I can talk about this? Right. Yeah, Mr. Quimby hates it. Yeah. Well, because Mr. Quimby's like, you know, I want to see if I can have a ride to the airport, but I got to wait another 17 minutes. Before I even stand a chance of getting the right answer. Oh, it's very, very bad. I feel bad for my poor parents because, you know, in high school, my mom used to, like, be so hurt and upset by the things I would say. My parents, too. You, Ashley? Yeah, growing up, it was so bad that my grandma had to call to wake me every morning because my parents didn't want to deal with it. This was when I was, like, seven years old. I would be such...
I was such a bad person when I'd wake up in the morning that my nickname was Bear. And my parents, my family still to this day call me Bear. Really? Because I'd wake up and be so grumpy like a bear. And so every morning my grandma would call. I got to tell you though. Every grumpy person, they love it when you tell them how grumpy they are. Oh, right? Right. That's the cool thing about all grumpy people. That helps. They love it to know how grumpy they are. And they also like nicknames associated with being grumpy. You must have hated that, Ash. When you were a kid, did you hate it? Well, I did. I didn't because there was, like, I was kind of a bear in other ways, like, and then my name, Sarah Bear, you know, because that was my old name, you know. That old, my old name. Sarah Bear. But so my grandma would have to call me every morning to wake me up because my parents could not do it. I was so bad. Yeah. P1. Go ahead. Go ahead, Quimby. My dad, this is what he used to revert to is he just didn't want to take it. So in high school, he would get a big glass full of cold water. If I wouldn't wake up, he'd come in the room, dump it on me, and just take off. Can you imagine? Yeah, you had water thrown on you. Every day was like an episode of Punk'd. All right, thank you, Quimby. I appreciate the call. P1 Penguin says, it is a woman thing.
No, it isn't a woman thing. Oh, you say it isn't a woman thing. I don't know. But you know what? Just being on hold, I just realized that I am the same way as Skye. Like in the morning, I'm good to go. But like during a nap, it's not happening. No. I'll actually argue if my boyfriend tries to get me like off the couch if I fall asleep on the couch. And he'll be like, get up, get up. You got to get up. And I'll say, I am, I am, I am. And I'll just roll over. Oh, yeah. And just ignore him. So you say that it is not a woman thing because, what, your boyfriend is pretty grumpy when he wakes up? He will slam the door in my face. He goes straight from bed to bathroom. And I get up pretty early in the morning. But when he gets up, I come in the room. I say good morning. He slams the door in my face. And he won't talk to me for, like, a good half an hour after he's, like, done his whatever he does in the bathroom. Right. I think we all know. So you don't have to go into detail on that one. No. I mean, like, after his shower and all that other stuff. Oh, we know what you mean. No, we know. I think we know what you mean there. Which, by the way, for the benefit of new listeners, Skye does occasionally leave the door open at her home when... This has nothing to do with the conversation. No, no, no. The only reason I say it is because I know that there are new listeners all the time. But, Mike, no one brought it up. And because there's new listeners, sometimes you have to say, you may have missed this story. It doesn't relate at all. And if you did miss this story, just to put in context... I should have smelled it from here. All right, well, next up, P1 Pantig. Are you there?
I know. How are you? I'm good, Mikey. Me and my husband carpool to work, and if I talk to him, he is in the worst mood ever. Me and the kids have to just sit there and be quiet, even when we're listening to the Mikey show. And sometimes I forget, and I'll say something to him, and oh my gosh, the looks I get, or sometimes I even get a comment, and it's just ridiculous. Well, from what I understand, because we're getting some texts, too, and some emails about, one of the things that sets... the grumpy person off is people being too cheerful around them. Yes. That's a great point. Too energetic. Now, we, as a show, had to pull Zeth aside and Bobby Kernels. No, it was Bobby Kernels, wasn't it? It was Bobby. It was Bobby Kernels. Awkward. Before we had Zeth working on the show, we had a guy working, doing Zeth's job. His name was Bobby Kernels. Bobby. And the thing is, is that with a group of people, you have a certain dynamic. And so if you're new into the dynamic, you don't know what the situation is. And what happens is, is that when we come in here in the morning, we're very focused and we just woke up and everybody comes in here in the morning and we're all doing our jobs very separately. And we really don't say anything to one another until we go on the air. Well, Bobby didn't know this.
And so we would all be in here working and we'd be doing our thing and Bobby would walk in and say, good morning. And it really threw everyone off. How's everybody doing this morning? Top of the morning to you. Top of the morning. There was a lot of top of the mornings to you. And eventually we had a very uncomfortable conversation about it on the air and he said, okay, I get it. I won't do it anymore. Text says, Mikey, it's a woman thing. We work so hard. Mornings are our time to digest. And prepare for our day. I agree. That is signed P1 Shannon. Whatever. Mikey, if I get woken up in a bad way, like if my boyfriend shakes me or whatever, it's over. Oh, what the hell? Who shakes you to wake you up? Well, yeah, I don't know that anybody's shaking anyone. Mikey, if my boyfriend slaps me in the face, what? This text says...
Mikey, my sister is mean when she wakes up. I woke her once for school when we were in high school, and she almost broke my nose. Wow. Oh, my God. How about that? That's not cool. Yeah. The Eddie line is ringing. It is? Oh. Hello? Yes, Eddie, this is P1 Barbara calling in. How are you? Yeah, I recognize your voice, Barbara. Well, I was just going to give a suggestion. Whenever I wake up... If you suggest drugs, I do not want to hear that. I'm not going to suggest drugs. Okay, go ahead. But one of the things that helps me when I wake up in the morning is a handful of Klonopins. That's a psychedelic drug that I can buy. I don't want to hear your drug talk. And also, since we're not on the air. We are on the air. No, we're on the air. It's the person that you can call. Barbara. We're on the air. Why didn't you tell me we were on the air? We always are on the air. Oh, Barbara. It's a strange lady. I can't believe she said that. It's Barbara. She just calls in every once in a while. But I'll give it a try. Mikey, my sister when we were younger, would wake me up swinging. And if you tried to wake her up before her alarm. So in other words, she would grab her, I guess. And the way that she woke her up was she was swinging her. It was a strange thing.
Wait, no. I think the sister went to wake up the other sister. Oh, and she was throwing... Oh, I get it. I said, well, it is strange to have an actual swing in the room. Yeah, she didn't pick her up and put her on a swing and then push her off. That's a lot of work just to be mean. I mean, why go do all that? P1 Dawn? Yes. Go ahead. My husband has a running joke. He says I shoot laser beams out of my arms when I wake up in the morning. Cyclops. One morning, I woke up. I had a crash, and my husband had taken my kids out to breakfast, and I jumped out of bed, ran to the front door, and started screaming at the top of my lungs. Apparently, the cat knocked something off of the table, and I was screaming at the top of my lungs, and the kids and my husband walked in, and they were like, they thought I was screaming at them, but I was screaming at the cat, but then I was screaming at them because they had just walked in at that time, and they were just like, um, we weren't even here. I just went right back to bed. and pulled the covers over my head and went back to sleep for an hour. Sounds nice. Yeah. Have you committed? Oh, come on. Thank you very much. Thank you. That's P1 Dawn. So, yeah, our text number is 35253. And if you want to, you can email us. Just go to our website. It's MikeyShow.com. There's links on there to email. Our last letter reads. Oh, yes. Dear Eddie, sometimes when I party with my old ma'am, I say stuff he gets all mad about. He was fighting with me Saturday and he was all, you have a mustache and stuff like that. Oh, my God. Holy cow. Oh, my God. What? Dear Harry Queen. Oh, my God.
First of all, I don't care that your old ma'am rides a black Harley. How do you think he feels when he brings his Harley guys over and they think he's got an old man too? They keep asking if the fellow inside the house could grab them a beer. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3 Rex hanging out in the studio with us today. How about that? Welcome back to the show. It is 829. It was announced yesterday that the suspects in the cheerleader video beating in Florida will be tried as adults. Second round of the Masters is underway and Brent Sneedeker is in the lead. Got on my Brent Sneedeker t-shirt today, so that's kind of fitting. It says, I got the Sneeds. That's right. That's right. Brent Sneedeker. Odds nemesis.
Ah, Sneedeker. I didn't think I'd meet you here in the cave, but since we're here... I've got you this time, Sneedeker. Oh, look at this as I peer into my crystal ball. If it isn't Sneedeker. So you have a crystal ball in your cave. That's right. It's Leia. My Leia. My bad. Uh. Do you guys like my new George Clooney boots and socks that I have on today? Oh. I only paid $3,000 for each boot. Oh, my. But it is the coolest clothing line out there. I know. That's sexy. What? Yeah, Mike, George Clooney did an interview just, I believe it was yesterday, where he says if someone tries to sell you clothes or watches that have his name on them. I got my Clooney watch on right now. He says don't buy them because he doesn't have a clothing. But I met these guys. Oh, no. And they were saying that they are. Well, if you know where you last saw them, Miami police are actually looking for them because they've been selling this clothing line saying that it's George Clooney's and he has nothing.
He doesn't. Dude, that says Clooney and Burke. And it's been 225 for four days on the watch. That's not good either. I'm really sure if that's a working watch. Does that calculator work? The calculator works really good. All I do is simple addition on it, but it does work really well. As long as that works. Yeah, so these guys, I guess their scam was that they were going to tell people that they have a Clooney clothing line. Now, the thing that I wonder about it is, is they must have had to find clothing that didn't have any insignia or anything on it. And then, you know, change it to be some clue. You know what I mean? Or cut out the label. Cut out the new label on it. I wonder what they did. Like, did they invent the Clooney label? Yeah, I don't know. But the coppers are looking for him. It was in Florida? Yeah. Oh, execution. They'll definitely execute them. I mean, if they did that in Florida. I mean, if you do that in Tennessee, you probably get a fine, but Florida, they're not messing around. Let's see. Disney has announced the TV show Hannah Montana will be back for a third season. Oh, thank God. I had no idea that it's been three seasons. Can I tell you how...
out of it I felt watching her perform on Idol Gives Back. I felt the same way. I don't get it. I feel so stupid because she can't sing very well and I don't get her at all. Her whole stage persona. Why is she popular? I don't get it. I feel stupid. I would like to hear from... What is the age? What is the age for Hannah Montana? It's like from probably like 7 to like 12 or 13. Yeah. All right. If you are a kid that listens to Hannah Montana and you are deeply troubled by what Eddie just said. I'm sorry. I want to know what the deal is. Because I mean. It's a great question. It's a good question. Like why is it? I don't get it. Because I watched the show, Hannah Montana. Because I'm like, what is this all about? Right. And it is your standard Disney show. So I'm like, what's the big deal? I don't get it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well. I guess it could be as simple as the concept. The concept is that she's a rock star, but nobody knows it. And so maybe kids just love the idea. Yeah, they want to live vicariously through her. They want to be the undercover rock star. Now, why is she undercover? Does anyone know why Hannah Montana is undercover?
Well, on the show. Yeah. Yeah. On the show, you know, she, like, lives this basic, normal day-to-day life, goes to school, has all these friends, and, like, and then on the weekends, she, like, dresses up as Hannah Montana. So she just wants to live a normal life like a normal girl. But they can't tell that it's her. It's like Clark K. All you got on is glasses. She puts a wig on. It's a wig, Eddie. Oh, she puts on a wig. Different color hair. It changes everything. But I can tell. So what's the wig? What's her regular look and what's the Hannah Montana look? Her regular look is like how you would see her, how we see her with the dark brunette long hair. And then when she does her Hannah Montana, she's got like this blonde wig with bangs. Oh, really? Wow. So it's totally different. I don't know any of this. 5701053. Well, three more seasons. That's what they're saying. Another season, so it's going to be the third. Hey, it's a funny show. And it was also announced yesterday by Disney that there will be a second season of Wizards of Waverly Place. Holy cow. And Phineas and Ferb. So, everyone. Applebottom first. Yep. You're good, everybody. There it is. Yep. Good. Let's see. We have somebody that has an eight-year-old daughter that is into Hannah Montana. And we'll ask her.
Does this P1 Sarah? Yes, hi. Hi. So, Sarah, what is it? Why do the kids love it? Well, she's just a great role model. She's really cute. She sings great, and I love her myself. She doesn't seem great. I've heard her sing. Eddie has a disagreement with you on the singer. No, opposite. Bad singer. Eddie does not like her. She's awesome. She was on the Kids' Choice Awards, and she did a great... performance. I even was like all jazzed about it. My daughter spent the night at her friend's house. You've been watching the Wiggles too long lately. No, no, no. I'm 26. I'm only 26 and I'm like totally love Hannah Montana. And so I called the dad of the little girl's house that my daughter was at. I was like, oh my gosh, Hannah Montana's going to perform. You guys got to watch it. It's going to be really good. I just knew it was going to be good. And then sure enough, it was amazing. I mean, she did a really good job. Amazing. Calling CPS on you. You're a Montana fan. Yes, you are. I like Joe Montana. Sky has new movies that are coming out this weekend into movie theaters around San Diego that you can go see. Yay! What do you got? Okay, first we have Prom Night out. Isn't that already a movie? Yeah, it's a remake with Britney Snow in this one. Britney Spears? Britney Snow. Let's see. Cut 33.
Alert. Why is shopping like that? Well, for Sean, that's the feel-good comedy of the year. That's creepy. Let's see. Now, this is Brittany Snow, the actress that plays this girl Prom Knight. Her name is Prom Knight. Prom Knight Shyamalan? That's right. Prom Knight Shyamalan. Must be a bad movie then. Shut up, Rob. I'm just saying. Let's see what attracted her to the role. Cut 34. It wasn't... necessarily a teen genre movie that was in your face, bloody, gory, people's heads are getting chopped off, you know, kind of over the top sort of thing. It was more about the suspense. It was more about... Paycheck. It was a thriller. And the money. There's also some great deal of money involved as a movie star. That did help. What else, Skye? Also out today, we have Street Kings, which stars Keanu Reeves, Forrest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, Jay Moore, and Common.
Really? Yeah. What is it about? Keanu plays... Two hours. There it is. Not two hours. Not two hours. Can you say that when you are the one who asks the question? Yeah, yeah. You ask it, you still say it. You say it. So Keanu plays a LAPD cop who has troubles after his wife dies, and then when he's implicated in a crime, he has to go up against the cop culture that he's been a part of his whole career. I got a clip here that has all the actors in one clip. Wow. In this clip, Captain Jack Sparrow. Captain Jack Wander, played by Forrest Whitaker, and Sergeant Mike Clady, played by Jay Moore. Hey, Clady. Tell Ludlow, played by Keanu Reeves, that a videotape may implicate him in the death of his partner. Cut 29. Lud, anybody in the department sees this video, you're no longer a cop. Do you understand that? They're the department. The DA sees this. Let's go to prison. Why? Because Washington was in the wrong place at the wrong time? No, because you were. Washington's problems are over. Yours? Just beginning. Forrest Whitaker sounds like a real actor. What the heck? Listen to the whole clip. Forrest Whitaker. I go, hey, look, there's a guy acting in that clip. Wow. I'm telling you, man. He's real good. He's real good. He's an Academy Award winning actor. Yeah, dude. Long way from Ghost Dog.
It's true. That is very true. Did anybody see that? Ghost what? Did not see that. No, I don't think anybody. Your new name is Random Rob. Did you come up with that on your own? That's right, Random Rob. Yeah, and it's better than all the jokes that you've been saying the past two days. Whoa, whoa, whoa, everybody. There you go. Sky, what else? And then finally out today in limited release, but you can't find this in theaters here in San Diego. In the theater. A movie called Smart People with Dennis Quaid, Sarah Jessica Parker, Thomas Hayden Church, and Ellen Page. Oh, there it is. Those are the movies out this weekend. Let's see. Very exciting. You guys want to hear what Colin Powell thinks of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. He was on Good Morning America yesterday talking about it. Cut 28. On Senator Obama, I think many of us wondered if you watched his speech on race... And how you felt about the comments of Reverend Wright? The comments of Reverend Wright, I thought, were... Reverend Wright is also somebody who has made enormous contributions in his community and has turned a lot of lives around. And so I have to put that in context with these very offensive comments that he made, which I reject out of hand. I don't know Reverend Wright.
But I think that Senator Obama handled the issue well. He went on television and I thought he gave a very, very thoughtful, direct speech. I admired him for giving it. I agreed with much of what he said. And he didn't abandon the minister who brought him closer to his faith. But at the same time, he deplored the kinds of statements that the Reverend Wright had made. Padres were off yesterday. Today they start a series with the Dodgers. Talk about it. Who's pitching, Eddie? Well, it's a nice little rematch from last weekend's big series. Jake Peavy versus Brad Penny. Of course, Jake Peavy won with a complete game last time. Yeah. Hopefully he'll do it again. A little Alabama slammer. Yeah. Real nice. Real good. Real good. Let's see. Did I already do with you guys percentage of Americans who say they wake every night to go to the bathroom? Yes. We did that one? Yeah. We did the percentage of Americans whose names get misspelled on a regular basis? Yes. Yeah.
Percentage of people that said that Evangeline Lilly's character, Kate on Lost, is their favorite character. Percentage of people that said that Kate on Lost is their favorite character. We will begin with Ashley. Well, I know that she's my boyfriend's favorite character. Really? In like the whole entire galaxy. So that's fun for me. But I would say like 70%. All right. Boston Rob. 16. He's putting himself in the question is what he's doing. As if I asked about Fergie, who he's not a fan of. Zeth. Yell it out. T3. Sky. Yeah, yeah. 20. Eddie.
Okay, let's think about this now. Let's break it down. Walk me through it. There are a lot of characters on Lost. Right. I would say most people would like Sawyer. Right. A lot of people like Locke, I'm sure. A lot of people like Jack. Definitely. I don't think that Kate ranks very high. I'm going to say... But did you hear about Ashley's boyfriend? I did. Are you sure? Ten percent. Ten percent. I nailed it. You hear that, honey? She's not that. No, I did not say that. I did not say that. She's gorgeous. You listening? Sean? Yeah, I agree with Eddie. There are major characters who take up most of the population. The rest, you've got to split it between everybody else.
Yeah, I'll say like 9%. That's one below me. That's really a good guess. But Sean, that's just one below Eddie. That was just a random number. No, you said one below me. That's a great guess. Let's see. The winner is Ashley when she said 70% because 53% of people polled said that Kate was their favorite Well, they did this polling at the Freckles fan club meeting. I see. They obviously just interviewed my boyfriend. Probably. Over and over. Over and over. All right, I got one more for you. And it's kind of phrased goofy, but maybe you guys can have fun with it. Percentage of Americans that said Jack Bauer is the tough guy that they would most want to avoid.
I don't like the way that's phrased. What does that mean? Percentage of Americans that said Jack Bauer's the tough guy they'd most want to avoid. I'm guessing tough guys on TV. Bar fight or something like that. But TV we're talking. Mm-hmm. That torture chamber. That's right. Okay. We're going that route, Eddie, right? I would think. Okay. We'll start with Boston, Rob. 18%. I got to take into account that how many people even know who Jack Bauer is. I assume they do if they're answering the question. Jack has good in his heart, so I don't know that I would necessarily avoid him, but he has been known to take it over the line. Yeah, but if you're in the thought of you're the terrorist, Eddie. I'm not the terrorist. No, you are. No, I am not. Yes, you definitely are. So would you want to avoid Jack Bauer? Well, yeah, of course, if I'm a terrorist, but I'm not. That wasn't in the question. I'm going to say... Yes, it says if you're a terrorist. 43%. Sean.
57%. Sky. I changed my answer to 56. 60%. Whoa. Zef. 11%. And Ashley. I'm really thrown off because I feel like he's a good guy, but Sky watches the show religiously, and she said 60%. Well, I think it's the wording. I'm assuming that we're all terrorists. Jack Bauer's the tough guy they most want to avoid. I want him on my side. I would want to roll with him. So I would probably say like 25%. Ladies and gentlemen, Sky came the closest. 67% of people that were asked this question said that he would be the tough guy they would most want to avoid. And that's his. Our text number is 35253.

Have you heard what Richard Roper from At The Movies with Ebert and Roper is saying about Forgetting Sarah Marshall? He's calling it every bit as good as Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and Superbad. Forgetting Sarah Marshall is one of the funniest movies of 2008. One of the funniest movies of the decade. It's a Mikey show at 857. People were shocked last night when Michael Johns was voted off American Idol. A NASCAR truck series driver admitted to using heroin before racing. It's pretty nuts. It's not a good idea. American Airlines canceled five months.
more flights today. 500. They say hopefully by Saturday night all their planes should be back in service. That's it? But they say over the last three days that they've done all these cancellations due to inspection of the wiring, they say at least 250,000 passengers have been affected. Bring them home! Speaking of airlines, Frontier Airlines, Filed for bankruptcy. Really? They're done. Yeah, they say due to the, you know, high fuel prices and the bad, you know, financial market. But they say, don't count us out yet. We're filing for Chapter 11, but we hope to, you know, reinvent ourselves and stay in the skies. So, Skye. I just made that last point. I like that. I thought it came, it rolled right off the tongue. Thank you. Yeah, that was from their official statement. So, yes.
So what's the deal with they now have details in that Oceanside off-duty cop deal? Oh, yeah, what happened? Well, first of all, Sky, catch us up. What happened? So this happened on March 15th, almost a month ago, where basically all we heard the next morning is that in Oceanside... in the Lowe's parking lot, that there was some sort of road rage confrontation between a Marine wife and an off-duty cop, and the cop opened fire on the car of the Marine wife that had her 8-year-old son in it, shooting both her and her son. They weren't critically injured or anything, but obviously a bullet wound is very serious, and an off-duty cop opening fire at civilians is very serious as well. So now it's almost a month later and we're finally finding out what went down. Because wasn't it like a struggle to get it out of them?
To get them to release the records of what took place? Yeah, four different news agencies in the area actually filed, I don't know what the correct word is, but filed a claim or whatever to try and get them to release the records, to make the records public, so we can know what went on. How did this go down? Because this off-duty cop hasn't been arrested or anything, and you think, well, normally when somebody opens fire on someone else, they're put behind bars. So this, according to witnesses and the documents, this is the way it went down. So the woman, whose last name is Silva, and the cop's last name is White. Okay? The cop is White, the chick driving the car, the mom is Silva. Okay. And Sylvia and Dana White. Let's go. I got it. Okay. So White, the cop, was driving with his wife, and the woman, Sylvia, was with her son, and she was leaving the Shell gas station on Old Grove Road at the same time. According to witnesses, her car nearly ran into his car, and he had to swerve to avoid it being an accident. After that, according to witnesses, the woman, Silva, then started tailgating him.
following him he pulled into the lowe's parking lot she's following him tailgating him and yelling and screaming at him out her window all according to witnesses okay so he or she makes it so that he has to swerve Yeah, she almost crashes into him. He has to swerve to avoid. Right. Then she starts tailgating him and screaming at him. Okay. And then he pulls into the Lowe's. Which is strange. You would think opposite, if anything. You know, why is she so angry? She almost caused an accident. Okay. But, okay, you know, whatever. According to witnesses, this is the way it went down. Okay. So the cop, you know, in his civilian car with his wife, pulls into the Lowe's parking lot and she follows. Now, his wife, the cop's wife at this point, calls 911 to report an aggressive driver because, according to witnesses in the 911 call, you know, obviously they're concerned because she's acting a little, you know, ragey or whatever. And she's screaming and cursing and everything. Yeah, so they call 911 and report an aggressive driver. The cop car, his car, the cop.
is in a civilian car, is stopped. Okay? At that point... Does it say if he pulls into a parking space or does he... No, it just says he pulls into the parking lot and they call 911, his car is stopped. That's so vague. That could be anything. Yeah, you're definitely right. But according to witnesses, they're in the parking lot, his car is stopped. Then they say that she, the mom, then pulls her car up next to his car. They say on the left side of his car. Okay, so if I have this right, what we're looking at is the off-duty cop is looking through his driver's side window and probably looking at a kid. Because if she's got her eight-year-old with her, then her kid's sitting in the passenger seat, you would think. Yes, and now witnesses did... Or was he not in the passenger seat? He was in the passenger seat, but witnesses did say that the window was closed and the windows were tinted. Okay. So, you know, who knows if he actually knew a boy was in there or not. We don't know. Okay. But witnesses did, you know, mention that the window was rolled up and the windows were tinted of her car. Okay. So she pulls up, like you say, on the left side. And at that point, the cop displays his gun to her, shows her his handgun. Okay. Well, yeah, that's strange. And then they say at that point, the cop pulled his car away from her car, but stopped again. Okay.
And then they say, at that point, she takes her car and reverses it going towards his car, sideswiping his car. Okay, wait, that doesn't make sense. Work it out. Let me work it out. They're parked next to each other. He shows her the gun, and then he drives. He pulls out. Oh, he backs out. He backs backwards. Let's see. See, because if she's reversing. He'd have to, yeah. Yeah, he would have to for it to make sense. So he must have been in a spot. That's what it sounds like. Yeah. So it sounds like he reversed and stopped. Yes. Which is odd. Why would you stop? Why wouldn't you be leaving? Yeah. And why would you show your handgun? But whatever. Okay. I'm down. Okay. So she then pulls out and sideswipes him. And they say that was the point where he then opened fire. firing five rounds into her car, hitting her twice and hitting her son once. Oh, come on. That's strange. That is odd behavior. It still seems like a little extreme. Yeah, that definitely doesn't seem like police officer behavior. No. Well, the thing, if he was a cop, like in a cop car, I could justify it. That, I don't know.
Yeah, because if the sideswipe had already happened, you can't claim that you felt your life was in danger unless she was waving a gun at you. But, I mean, man, you're the one waving the gun at people. Well, I think the thing is is that the case can easily be made of, well, she's using her vehicle as a weapon, you know. Not that it's right. It certainly isn't. But in regards to Steve Foley, the cop was currently, the car was coming at him at the time he opened fire. In this case, it sounds like he opened fire after his car had already been sideswiped. I think the toughest part around it for the off-duty cop is, if I'm a, and I don't know whether, because I'm sure that this will probably become a court thing. And if I am... It's definitely going to be a court thing. She's already got her lawyers and talking about suing the city. Now, if I'm her lawyer, I'm letting everybody in the jury know, I'm pointing out to everybody in the jury, why did he stop? Why did he reverse and stop his vehicle? Well, yeah, and not only that, she could say, you know...
The guy was waving a gun at me. He was an off-duty cop, which means he looked normal to me. My life was in danger, and so this is what I felt I needed to do, and blah, blah, blah. Now, see, we're hearing the witnesses' version. Yes, these are different witnesses. Which, I'm going to guess, is probably going to be the cop's story. The off-duty cop is probably going to say, yeah, that's my story, too. Yep, exactly what they saw. Something pretty similar, I'm sure. That sounds like good defense. Yeah, like, you know, this lady, this crazy lady was chasing me down. Right. You know, I showed her my gun to show her, like, hey, you know, you need to stop. Yes. And she did, and then she attacked me again, and whatever. Now, what we're not hearing is her story. We're not hearing her story. There's something that sounds to me like there's missing because something triggered something in her to do this.
You know, what is it? What was the trigger? Yeah. It could be nothing. I don't know. I mean, it could be something not even totally, you know, involving this officer could be something in her personal life that just made her on edge. We don't know. But from witnesses statement, it definitely sounds like she was the aggressor. But at the same time, it also sounds like I don't know if you really need it to open fire. P1 Mark. Hey, Mike. How you doing? Good, man. What's up? So, you know, I've been following the story and it sounds like, you know, they're about being idiots. Yeah, I agree. Sounds like they were both kind of whacked out. Oh, definitely. Yeah, for sure. He did the right thing. He went into a public parking lot.
You know, where there's people around, so there would be witnesses. He did everything right. And, you know, she really brought a lot of this on herself, but he didn't have to hold the gun. And I think that speaks to his maturity level as far as being a cop. I think if he had more years on the street, he might have reacted a little bit better. Yeah, the cop is 28 years old. See, I thought it was a maturity thing too, but I'd heard that the cop was only nine. Well, that makes sense. He's immature. He's only nine. Well, let me double check my facts. Maybe I got it. Thank you very much for the phone call. Yeah, I do that a lot. The California Assemblyman is proposing raising beer tax. He says beer is now, for one bottle of beer, $455 for one bottle of beer. And I guess the tax will now help. How much is it, Skye, does he say? Yeah, they say let me find the exact number for you because I know lots of people enjoy their beer and I don't want to make people upset. Okay.
So his proposal would increase the tax on a single beer by 30 cents. Oh, my gosh. Homer Simpson just had a heart attack. A six-pack of beer would be, you know, $1.80. There it is. And so, of course, they say that... That's a lot. Yeah, $1.80 more. So they say that, of course, this tax will be levied against the manufacturer, but the manufacturer always passes that cost on to the consumer. There you go. Mikey, the... Mikey, the cop must have feared for his and his wife's life. And like you said, the windows were tinted. Tinted windows imply illicit activities. That's P1 Max. The next text says, why are five shots needed? Isn't that excessive? Gotta take a quick timeout. Like after this. Like a coma, Mikey. On a Rock 105.3. Hey, check this out. It's a Mikey show. President Bush told General Petraeus to take all the time he needs and to consider troop cuts after July. And they're going to cut, they also want to cut
The tours by three months, right, Skye? The Army combat tours, yeah. This was all part of a speech President Bush gave yesterday. And in regards to General Petraeus, you know, they're going to pull out some of the troops in July for, you know, all part of the whole surge plan. And like Mikey said, President said, General Petraeus, whatever you need, however much time you need. You know, some people... Where's President Bush? Hey, what's up, everybody? Ladies and gentlemen, President Bush is hanging out in the studio with us right now. Some people have questioned me for naming General Petraeus. No, no, no. It's Petraeus. With a P. But I trust the guy. I think he's going to kick ass. So you were concerned because you thought his name was General Petraeus. It is. It's General Petraeus. No, it's not. You're confused with a P. No, President Bush is with a P. It's Petraeus. Petraeus as what? Oh, no. Never mind. Oh, no. Well, that's our president. That's President... President Bush, I was just looking through the studio at Ashley, and I'm going to tell you how astute of an observationist I am. Are you growing your fingernails out? Yes, I am. I don't mean to be girly. I don't mean to be girly. I didn't even know this. No, no, no. But Skye, you know though.
that she's always had really short fingernails. Yes, definitely. You know how I know you're gay? Oh, stop it. It's true. This is a new thing, actually, Mike. I'm growing them out. Why are you growing them out? I've always known you to have little nubby... Yeah. Like dude hands. No, Eddie, I was going to say like dude hands. Oh, I thought that's where you were going. He was going to say man hands. Yeah, I was going to say man hands. Well, I was trying to be more polite. She... Well, that's the deal. Ashley has always had... really super short fingernails yeah you bite them no in high school like i had the fake nails i had them for like seven years and they destroyed my nails and so when i went into college i was like no more and i just kept them short because they were so damaged that i couldn't grow them out if i did they'd break and they were just gross looking so i just kept them short and manicured every week sean you're a male you are now a nail model so Now they're like all healthy again because it's like six, seven years later. They're growing out. And my boyfriend told me the other day that he really likes them grown out. And they're strong enough now that they can stay long. And so I sat back and I said to myself, so is this? I go, self.
is this something that you can make a change for, for your, for your man? Cause he really likes it. And I said, yeah, self, that seems like no problem to me. So I'm growing him out now. I like the conversation. Wow. I like the conversation. I can't believe how much you're changing. Wow. Ashley, she's going to do that for the boyfriend. She says he likes long nails. Cause he likes me to like scratch back, you know, and I give him a massage, you know, and so it's nicer with the long nails. So how long are you going to let your nails get? Uh, the link they're at now. So I'm actually going to go today and just get them. Filed and pretty looking. Have you asked him if that is, what, if he likes long nails or if this is the nail length he likes? He likes them like this because they're long. Like, I would say that they're long enough that you can get a nice French tip manicure and they're long enough that you can, you know, have a nice back scratch. French dip? That's right. Oh, it's like au jus and then you stick your fingers in the au jus. This is like the longest I've ever had them. They taste better that way, Mike. Wow, I didn't know that. Definitely the longest I've ever had. Sky, did you do anything like that for your husband? His name is Bunny Boo.
Oh, it is? Yes. Her husband's name is Bunny Boo. Sounds really humiliating. Sky, did you do anything for Bunny Boo? Well, we've discussed many times that he has issues with my hair. So it's not so much I made changes for him, but I agreed not to make changes. Really? If I would like to experiment and do different things with my hair, I know that that's now off limits. No! He has strong feelings and it's very important to him. So if you came home today and you had short hair, Bunny Boo would freak out. Divorce. Yeah. That's right. See, that stinks. Remember when Skye dyed her hair like that awesome hot red and everyone loved it, but she changed it back because the hubs didn't like it? That's a bummer. And we have an overreaction. Yeah, he also has one more request of me. He would like me to gain 10 pounds, but just in my booty. And I've been trying to explain to him that that's not humanly possible. You can get a prosthetic. I don't. Well, he's mentioned it, Mike. Wow. That is odd. Yeah. Do guys do this? Do guys do this? I don't change forever.
I don't know. Really? Ever? For anyone? I mean, if she asked me to do something, I would consider it, but I'm perfect. My friend Chris is hanging out in the studio. Chris, if you went home with no goatee, what would your wife say? Or if you got up this morning and decided to shave off your... Put the microphone over. If you decided to get up this morning and just shave off your goatee without consulting, would the wife be cool? Yeah, I think so. I just look like a goofy, chubby, almost 40-year-old guy without the goatee. my last element of coolness. So I think she'd actually prefer it without. Like when we got married, I had to shave it for the wedding. Oh, really? Yeah, I had a goatee for like two years through dating and through the wedding and everything, shaved it all clean and smooth. But why did you have to shave it for the wedding? I wouldn't say have to. It wasn't like a deal breaker, but it was a request. Did she ask you? Yeah. She asked you? Yeah, go back and be like. How did she ask? Man, I don't even remember the conversation. It's been a while. But I remember she liked it when it was smoother. And back then, too, you got that in, like, those 20s. The goatee was, like, all really scruffy and scraggy. I mean, it would leave marks. And so she's like, hey, for the wedding and all that and honeymoon, I mean, just shave it off. It looks better that way. So why'd you grow it back out? Because it looks cool. It hides more in my face now. And I think she prefers that now more than anything. That's the whole thing. If she prefers it.
smooth? Like, why wouldn't you keep it smooth for her? Wouldn't that be nice? That's what Ashley did. She grew the nails out because he prefers it that way. Yeah, I think that's, like, nice of her. Well, us goateers, we understand. No way. We have to have it. I tell you, after 15 years of being with her, I don't think, I mean, goatee's not an issue anymore. Yeah. But I bet if you were to shave it off, she would freak out. Yeah, I think my kids would freak out. They've never seen me without it. I mean, they'd be screaming about a strange guy in the house. My hubby does that. What about you, Eddie? You've never seen me without a goatee, right? No, never. I've had it since I was like 21. You have. Eddie grew his goatee when he was eight, so I've seen it for, you know. Yeah, you got a good year in there. That's right. I was born with it. Eddie, would you? Would I what? Would you shave your goatee? Never. No way, right? No, I can't. I can't. What if your wife came to you and was like... She likes it. She doesn't want me to see it. But what if? We're playing what if. I don't live in what ifs. I live in now. I live in the now. If she asked me, I would take it under consideration and tell her no. That means no. I can't. I can't. 5701053. I like the topic. The topic is, have you changed stuff?
for your significant other like they liked that you had a hairstyle a certain way or that you did your like ashley said she grew out her nails uh my wife my wife would never make an issue out of me shaving my goatee but i know she'd be like what is going on right what is that all about she'd probably be more concerned that i'm freaking out about my new smooth face then she would be freaking out about it. For sure. But yeah, yeah, yeah. I think a lot of people would do differently. This is going to be more women doing this. I think. Because guys, what do we have? Well, because we love you guys for who you are. You have on the inside. We don't. And you guys only care about our appearance. Absolutely true. It is. But see, if it's appearance, we're talking. But if it's guys, now we've got to change a whole lot about our actions and emotions. That's what guys have changed. Because guys are more visual. Yeah. For maybe the women, it's more physical things that they had to change. Yeah. What if there's a guy out there that said, here's what I had to change and it killed me. But it wasn't a physical appearance. Oh, yeah. What about you have to change?
something about you. See, and I think that's totally different. I had to get rid of PlayStation 2. That was on time. He had to get rid of his PS3, dude. No, no, I'm just saying, hypothetically. Oh, I thought you said you did. I was like, oh, that sucks. I mean, that's the mistress for a lot of women. I think that women would ask their fella to change a thing about them, not a physical thing. No. Guys ask, can you do the physical thing, keep the physical thing this way? Uh-oh. I think that's so totally different. Or change it. If you're trying to change someone like how they are, you can't change a person. Like Eddie just said, he's set in his ways. Like I would never be like, Eddie, I want you to do this this way as opposed to that way because that's changing him, you know? Oh, you don't think that women do that? Yeah, you don't. That's not what I'm saying. But that's not what I'm saying. Well, you say suggestions. Yes, I've made suggestions. I get a lot of suggestions. I'm saying, if I said to Eddie, you know, I really like brown on you, Eddie. And then all of a sudden, he starts wearing a lot of brown. And I'm like, hey, bro, thanks. Like, you look good. I'm more turned on by you. And what's up? You appreciate, you know, what's up? What's up, Pete? What's up, Pete? What's up, Pete? What's up there, you know? 570-1053. Yeah. I think that that is the deal. We like, we're very, now, I'll tell you what. I never dated her, but I had a friend who wore a perfume.
And if she's listening right now, she already is looking and screaming at her radio. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I love you just the way you are. I already know. I love her. Sexy. You leave her alone. In the Middle East, it's sexy. Yes. What? You know what? In Qatar, that perfume is the leading perfume in Qatar. In Qatar. Dude, my friend Amy. You're going to say her loud. I'm not going to say her loud. name. I'm sorry. She knows it's Foley. I don't have to say it anyway. Please. Please, Mike. Wow. But I digress. Anyway, she used to wear this perfume. She still does. Oh yeah, she still does. She says that the name of the perfume is... Do you have Amy's number? I do. I believe. Get Amy on. She loves to argue about this. And this is the great thing about it. I like all perfumes and fragrances. Pretty much. But there was just this one that my friend Amy wore. And it was too overpowering. Suck your nose wrong. Dude, it was too overpowering for me. What are you, hard of smelling? Yes, exactly. And so she said, she was like, she goes, you're the dumbest guy I've ever met. I second it. She goes, every single guy ever has, I get so many compliments on this perfume. And she goes,
How can you not like it? Like, what is it about it? And I go, it smells like Indian library. Stings the nostrils. I said, it's very reminiscent of a Turkish handbag. That she was like, you're so stupid. Bigfoot's wang. Well, I don't know about that. You know what that smells like? Mikey, I'm a Marine, and I always get a four on top. Short, short haircut. I've recently started growing out my hair and I hate it because I'm low maintenance, but she loves it. Mikey, my husband shaved his face without consulting me and I totally freaked out. P1 Kelly. Mikey, I shaved my chest. B-Rob. No, that is B-Rob. That is straight up B-Rob. Yes. I shaved my chest because my fiance didn't like the hair. That's P1 Maddie. Dude, no, you can't do that. Oh.
Has any guy had to wax that, though, because she said... Not your chest. Chest is... That's hardcore. No way. Mikey, my hub will grow or shave the facial hair how I like. He's had a stash, only full beard, clean shave. I love it. That's P1 Shauna. 5701053. How about this one? P1 Brian says his wife made him gain weight. Oh, if only my wife were on that train of thought. That's what I'm blaming mine on, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's up? Well, what's the deal? How much did you weigh, Brian? I was 160 pounds, and she said I look like a skinny little European guy. Well, how tall are you? I'm six foot. That's pretty thin. So how much did she have to get up to? I'm 230 now. Holy cow, dude. What did you do, eat a human? Oh, my. Thank you for the call, Brian. Well, everybody's telling me I look better at this weight than I did before, but, you know, what do you do? Make the wife happy. Thank you. Wow. Before I even take the call from Amy, I'm going to tell you that she is a dear friend. Yeah. One of our favorites. She's a beautiful woman and a dear friend of mine who I've known for many, many years. Well, hello, Amy.
I hate you. Now, hang on a second. Hang on. Holy cow. Now, you still wear casino, right? Now, this is a... Wait a minute. Is that what it's called? It's not called casino. Oh, my God. It is called Cassini. We have had a long history with Cassini, you and I. Oh, no. You are... I'm the only person in my existence of wearing this perfume who has ever said anything bad about it. Oh my God, I hate you. Now, your husband loves it, right? He does. He does. Everyone loves it. And you still wear that, right? Not around you. Not around me. But yes, I do. It's my signature scent, Mike. That's right. It's your signature scent. And you do get a lot of compliments on it, right? Yes, I do. That is correct. But I know you call it an Indian saddlebag. Thank you, Aime. Whatever. We love you. Hey, let us in the skybox. Anytime. Thank you. Aime has control of the Petco Park skyboxes. Oh, hello. And she has this one that she lets us go watch a baseball game. It's pretty nice.

There is one. There's a McDonald's on every block in New York. Times Square. You guys are very, very far off. Wow, really? Busiest McDonald's is in Karlsplatz, Munich.
Germany. Get out of here. It's the busiest McDonald's location in the world. Is there any explanation to why? They don't. They do not. They do not. But they do tell you the busiest U.S. location. Times Square. Anybody else? Chicago, Illinois. Sky is correct. 22 West 42nd Street, New York. Times Square. Sky for you. The busiest Outback location in the country. Escondido. Yes. I'm there every other day. I wish there was one in Escondido. I wish there was one in my castle, if we're being honest. It's Poway. We went over this. I forgot. I'm sorry. It's officially in Poway. Stop yelling. Busiest Outback Steakhouse in the country. Times Square. Chicago, Illinois. You guys are close. Las Vegas. How did you know that?
Because I ate there. Are you serious? You've got to be. I went to Vegas and they're like, so where should we go to dinner? Can you believe her? Dude. No, no, no, no. When we were in Maui, we were in Maui at the same time. Her husband was, and her and her husband were on one side of the island. Me and my wife were on the other side of the island. She found an outback in Maui. And a round table. You're an embarrassment. It's an abomination. Speaking of pizza. Busiest Domino's. Ooh. Oh, come on, bro. Chicago pizza. You're right, you're right. Big state. Oklahoma. Texas. Nope. Florida. Nope. Oklahoma? New York. Nope. Massachusetts. Nope. It can't be on the East Coast. Michigan. What? Because their pizza's too good there to go for the Domino's. It's in the South. Alabama. Alabama. Alabama. It is North Carolina. That's not fun. Camp Lejeune. What? Just outside Camp Lejeune in North Carolina is the busiest Domino's in the country. I don't know. Military. A bunch of dudes want to go have it. A lot of military bases. How about...
The busiest Nordstrom in the country. Los Angeles. Yeah, my first guy was going to be L.A., but I don't know, dude, because they got some crazy stores there. Yeah, like I don't think that's high-end enough. New York. Milan, pussy. No. The busiest location of Nordstrom. Yeah. South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, California. Really? Mm-hmm. The busiest AMC theaters in the country. Oh, that's got to be... Some place boring. Los Angeles. Nope. Vegas. Nope. Some place where there's nothing to do but go see movies. Chicago, Illinois. For crying out loud, Eddie. Times Square. You got it, Skye. Wow. What? I said that every time. Why would people go there and see a movie? Dude, I was thinking Jack. Me and Eddie saw a movie. Did you guys really? Yeah. But you're in...
Times Square. We were in New York. Then we went and had Domino's Pizza. It was great. Well, it must have been like a huge movie. It was the weekend that American Psycho came out and Mike really wanted to see a movie in New York and said, all right, we can go. Let's go. Yeah. It was a crazy experience. I mean, it was weird. Well, the theaters were really trippy and different. They were. Well, everything's built up in New York. So it's not like you walk in and you go and there's the theater. You like go upstairs and then there's the concessions and you go up. More stairs. And the movie theater was kind of weird too because it's built up so the seats were like real steep. Stadium seating but like really steep. And then the thing I remember most about that movie was some dude brought in like a full Boston Market chicken. Yes. And was eating it. Yes. That and a cell phone. Like this other guy's cell phone was going on. It was crazy. That's awesome. That's awesome. So weird. Yuck. Where do you guys think the busiest Toys R Us in the country is? Times Square. Eddie, that's correct. Times Square in New York. Yeah! The busiest... Who's going to go to Toys R Us when they got that FAO Schwartz or whatever the heck that place is called? Japanese. Where do you think is the busiest hard rock cafe in the world? San Diego. Times Square. Las Vegas. Incorrect, Olivia? Hollywood. Not Vegas? Not Vegas. Really? Oh.
Tokyo. Nope. Australia. Paris. Nope. Cancun. Seminole, Florida. That is incorrect. The busiest hard rock cafe in the world is in London. How do they have all the memorabilia for all the different hard rock cafes? You gotta figure, if you go to the Boca Raton hard rock, you're gonna see some pretty bottom-of-the-line Like rock memorabilia. I don't know. This is the comb that Fonzie used in Happy Days that he went a... It's rock. I see. Well, wasn't he pretty... He was pretty hard rock. He's rock and roll. He's real rock and roll. Like Slash's girdle from the last tour. That's right. Girdle. I'm getting up there in age. Last one. Okay. Busiest Jiffy Lube. Wow. In the country. Detroit. Oh, that's a good guess. Good guess. Chicago. Nope. Los Angeles. Times Square. No. Florida. Times Square Jiffy Lube. Nope. The busiest location for the Jiffy Lube in the United States is Honolulu, Hawaii. I wonder why. Makes sense because you can't go anywhere else. You know what I mean? You're locked on the island. Yeah, I guess that's true. I guess that would be the deal. That makes sense. Let's see.
Reports are that Miami is negotiating with Jake Long, tackle out of Michigan, as the first pick in the draft. Well, here's the deal. When you have the number one pick in the NFL draft, you have the right to negotiate with whoever you're going to choose to try and sign them to a contract even before the draft begins. It's the only pick that can do that. And, yes, Sky, you have a question. So if they say they do sign Mr. Long to a contract, then do they still have a first pick? No, they have to pick him. Oh. So it's not like they're making a side deal outside of the draft. No. Because that would be really cool. You can't do that. Oh. Okay. My bad. Whoever you're drafted to, you have to play for. Oh. Weird. All right. There it is. When is the draft? It's not that far away, right? A couple weekends. A couple weekends, man. It's like the end of the month. I'm kind of freaking out. Hey, Rob. Yo. What was that thing you were talking about in the office the other day that you said was driving you nuts? I thought that would be a good topic. It was something about... Oh. Oh, I remember. Wasn't it the kids running around? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Rob says, Rob said that in his neighborhood that there's a couple of kids that run around completely nude. And I said to my, I said, I go, my wife would be nuts over that. That would make my wife nuts because Jake always has to have on socks. First of all, he's always got to be dressed and, you know, all cuted up. He's so cute, man. But let me tell you something, man. He's got some fashion style. Well, parents have,
a very particular thing that they do with their kids in terms of the way they dress the whole thing and they don't really like people not liking it like in the very beginning it was kind of driving rebecca a little bit nuts if like say like my mom has a thing about shoes and socks kids always have to have shoes and socks on Yeah. Shoes? Yeah. I can almost argue socks, like keep their feet warm, you don't get a hold, but shoes? No, she feels like the shoes are like a protective device, my mom. They are. Because Jake is running around in a pile of nails in the living room? I'm telling you, man, it would drive my mom nuts when Jake didn't have the shoes on, so she would say very delicately. Right. She would make a suggestion. Yes. Oh, aren't his feet cold? And eventually I had to say, hey, mom, you had your time with the parenting and now Rebecca gets to do her thing. Come on. Well, you can't. He knows what she's talking about. Well, the deal is that when you are married, your wife has to make her call on the kids. No. Because it's her kid now. You know, you can't. You just can't do it. But the running around.
Naked. Or those kids that run around just their diaper. And they're normally dirty. They normally have dried up drool on the side of their lip. Ashley, that's really mean. Maybe they should take a bath. Normally is the vibe I get. You can't do the diaper. The running around diaper. What age are we talking, Rob? 14. 21. It's actually Big El Kahuna. How old, Rob? Young kids. Probably like three, four, I think. Nude? That's a little too old. Are they boys or girls? You could tell. Let him think about it. You can usually tell, Rob. I mean, you're an outie. Yeah. Oh, that's how you tell. Yeah. Is it both? No, there's like a herd of kids. No, I'm serious. Seth, you've seen them. And it's the youngest ones. And I honestly can't tell you kids' ages. I'm so bad with that. I thought Jake was like 13 the last time I saw him. I was like, why can't he talk, Mike? Yeah, that's the thing, man. Everybody's got their take on it. 570-1053. Is that okay? Well, first of all, it's the same thing like in the house. What is the age?
Where you go, okay, we got to put some clothes on these kids. What is the age? You know, for us, it was like right away. Jake's got to have clothes on. If people are coming over, Jake's got to have clothes. But Jake doesn't run around without clothes even at the house, you know, when nobody's there. But it just depends if you have kids. I'm the only one on the show with kids. Chris, you got kids. What do you do? What's your philosophy on clothes? on the kids and when do they have to be in the clothes? We're big on clothes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, if mom dresses them, they have to match. If dad, just whatever's there. But we have clothes on them. Yeah. You gotta have the clothes. They don't wear their own diapers. Even the little guy. Yeah. He at least has PJs on or something. It's easy. It's easy. Ash, what's your take? Yeah, I was gonna say, like, I just think that when you're really, really little, it's okay. But, like, after 20... two years old, I think there would be inappropriate fondling maybe going on. What the hell? What the hell is she talking about? What does she mean? Does she just say things? I don't know. If you're going to put these four-year-olds and they're like, Rob said both girls and boys running around all willy-nilly naked, that just opens the door for weirdness. Kids don't think like that.
Four or five years old? No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. Is that what she meant the kids themselves? Because I didn't know what she meant. Yeah. Okay, okay. Well, listen. What, Ash, what would be the appropriate age for a kid to, you got to put them in clothes? I think, like, they should get used to wearing clothes around two years old. Or younger. Or younger. Now, wait a minute. So, okay. Or younger. So, what would you, give me a window from what to what? About? Up until two. I saw two toddlers older than two, so like three years old, a boy and a girl running around. on the front lawn naked like that would make me uncomfortable and then I would also be like I don't think that these kids should be playing together naked at three years old like that's just weird I think I might be out there then because I say as soon as the kid is clothes wearing age he's wearing clothes yeah but here's where people change the rules at the beach I mean that's where I see you got kids down there in the water in the waves and for some reason once your feet hit the sand the clothing rule seems to leave for the parents yeah yeah yeah it's true yeah yeah yeah
Rebecca just sent me a bunch of pictures of Jake at the beach. I said, will you put some clothes on that kid? He wasn't wearing anything? Well, she said that she had just changed his diaper. It was only for a second. But still, I'm like, oh, come on, already. Was it a nude beach? Well, yeah, they were blacks. Eddie, what age would be the appropriate age of clothes for you? Birth? Yeah. They make all those little outfits. You know, you put them in a potato sack. I don't know. That's right. Whatever. They got those three Z's or whatever they're called. Why do they do it? Why do parents do it? I don't know. Well, we're going to hear from everybody, but Sky, what's your take? Yeah, I agree with you guys as far as in public. Like, yeah, from birth, you need to have clothes on your child unless you're, you know, at the beach or a pool or something. Why? Unless. They make swim trunks for kids, you know? Yeah. Yeah, I guess. What do you mean you guess? You're one of those parents. Well, no, I don't have any kids. No, no. Are you going to be the naked kid parent? But at home, you know, if they're...
Whatever makes them comfy. I don't understand. If they're comfy. But how'd the beach get into the same places at home wear? Well, I'm just saying the only, like, if we're running around in the middle of the street, yeah, you got to have clothes on. But if we're going to the beach, like... It's still public. It's still... There's more people at the beach than in your street. But a diaper's okay. The diaper gets wet. You change it. They have swim trunks. They want to get a little... They don't like the tan lines, you know. Oh, my. P1 Todd. Go ahead, Todd. Hey, does your wife have a certain way that you need to dress your kid when she's not going to be around? Does she, like, let you know, hey, you have to dress this way? No. She doesn't lay out his clothes for you? Yeah, yeah, she does. So she's basically telling you this is what he's wearing today. Yeah, but I don't have any issue. It's not like I'm like, wait a second here. Yeah. You laid out that and I want him in that plaid jumper. You want the potato sack. But I wonder what she would say if she came home and you had him in some mismatched outfit. I remember one time we had a conversation about clothing. And it was right after T-Rex got the jersey and I wanted him to wear the jersey. T-Rex got him a LT jersey. And we were going to somebody's house. It was for...
Whatever the thing was. Oh, it was New Year's. It was New Year's. And T-Rex, she gave it to us for Christmas, right? Yes. Yeah. And so I wanted him to wear it for New Year's. And she goes, oh, I don't want him to wear the jersey today. And I said, why? And she goes, because we're going to their house and I want him to look all cute, blah, blah, blah. And I said, whatever, whatever. But there was a disagreement. I wanted the jersey. But I'm telling all guys, just say, yeah, whatever. I'm telling you, yeah, whatever works really good. Oh, it is KIOZ San Diego is the name of the radio station. And it's, you know, the legality of it is that you have to say, K-I-O-Z San Diego, legally on the top of each hour. And the deal is that you say it. And then when you do give the legal call letters out, K-I-O-Z San Diego, then you thus identify the radio station as a legal entity within the broadcasting community there in that city. That seems like the wrong sound effect for sure. Yes, I'm on the phone. All right. It's K-I-O-Z San Diego.
And so I appreciate everybody. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. I'm trying to legally ID the radio station. It's KIOZ San Diego. My voice is so low with this cold. Not really sure how to get in with it. You just have to say please. Maybe that's the deal. Some of the text messages that we're getting about the kids running around naked. Yo, Mikey, I have three kids. They wear clothes at birth. I never let my kids run around naked only at the appropriate time like the beach or a pool. That's P1J. This one says, Mikey, just wait until your son's older and it's a fight to get clothes on him. You'll have another take on it. Now, wait a second. Hang on a minute. Right. It's a struggle. Now he doesn't like to put the clothes. That doesn't mean that you don't do it because they don't give up, Mike. You let him go to school naked. Yeah.
Yeah, nude it. You'll see. I think that's what this person is saying. I think that they're saying that it's hard to put clothes on their kid, and so that's why they're not putting clothes on their kid. Well. Mikey, I don't have children, but I babysat a lot, and to me, the minute they are out of the womb, they need to be clothed. Public or not, there's appropriate attire to be worn. We're all so uptight. Oh, well, why don't you get naked? Mikey, I have a three-year-old, and he occasionally runs around naked because we're potty training him. And that's a technique doctors suggest, but only at home. I did not know that. You know, it hurts, but it feels so good. Didn't know that. P1 Shorty. Shorty, are you there? Yes. Go ahead. Hi. I'm a mom of two. I've got a five-year-old and a three-year-old. I have both boys. So you can imagine how hard it has been for me. But I am so strongly against just letting them run around whatever they want. And what's worse than that is I was a cashier for a long time and people would come in and they'd be all real nice dressed and their kids freezing, no shoes on, no shirts on, you know. And it just really, really got under my skin when they would take the time to do the hair, do their clothes, get looking all good and then come in with their kids just not even taken care of. Yeah. And, you know, I...
Up until two and a half years ago, I did it on my own with both. And I know how hard it can be, but that's not an excuse. I would go out in rags before I let my kids go out in nothing. Mm-hmm. You know, I think that's like... Yeah, but what about at the beach? I mean, isn't it okay at the beach because... At the beach, I don't think it's okay for them to be naked. I think there are appropriate things that they can wear. Yeah. What are we, in Europe? Yeah, I mean, what is this? We're not dirty Frenchmen. I do not think there's anything wrong with the child running around the kid. Gross. My wife is on the line. Hello, honey. Hi. How are you? I'm good. How are you? What is your take? Well, you know my take at home, and you already said, like, I don't know what it is, but I just, I have this thing where Jake needs to be wearing clothes. Every once in a while at home, inside, he'll run around in a diaper. And it's funny because when he does, I look at him and I think, he looks so cute. Why don't I let him do that more often? But I don't know what it is, especially when he goes outside, too. I have this thing where he has to wear shoes and socks outside.
Hey, you know, Chris brought up a good point about, you know, there's a lot of perverts around, man. Just do Megan's Law and see who your kids run around naked in front of, even in your own neighborhood. It's the truth, man. There's a bunch of perverts. You don't know. You got to be safe about it, you know? Yeah, for sure. Definitely. And one of the things, too, with the shoes and socks that kind of backfired for me was that, you know, I was always so set on him wearing shoes and socks. If we went someplace like the beach and I would take his shoes and socks off, it was like he didn't like it because he wasn't used to his feet touching, you know, anything other than, like, carpet inside. Hey, hon. Yeah? Will you give us a couple of bars of head, shoulders, knees, and toes? Oh, my gosh. Are you kidding? Yeah, come on, hon. Aw. Head, shoulders, knees, and toes, knees, and toes. Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes. Eyes and ears and mouth and nose. Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes. Very well done. A little fishy, but you worked it out, dog. You did your thing. You did your thing. You'll make it through the next week. Very nice, honey. I love you.
I love you. Thank you for humiliating me. Oh, it was great. Stop it. You were the best. Where's my knees and toes? Thank you, honey. Bye. It's so funny because usually that's accompanied by the biggest giggle in the world. He thinks that's so funny. It was. It is. It was called the P1. Exactly. From the television show, some of you may know it, some of you may not, but there's a television show called The Office. And last night The Office was back. This is Michael arguing with Jan, cut 37. What is he doing here? You said that I could not invite Dwight because he was not part of a couple. And because we didn't have enough wine glasses, Dwight brought glasses and a person. Fine. Whatever you want. Just like always. Whatever you want. Whatever I want. It's never whatever I want. What I wanted to see stop and you wanted to see Wicked. What did we see? We saw Wicked.
When I said that I wanted to have kids and you said that you wanted me to have a vasectomy, what did I do? And then when you said that you might want to have kids and I wasn't so sure who had the vasectomy reversed. And then you said you definitely didn't want to have kids who had to reverse back. Snip, snap, snip, snap, snip, snap. I did. You have no idea the physical toll. The three vasectomies have a person. Ha, ha, ha. That sounds pretty funny. So that was the new season of The Office. The writer's strike is over. Yeah. And so they're back. Did you guys like it? It was okay. Yeah. I thought it was good. I mean, it was over the top, but that's kind of like what The Office is these days. So I guess I just have to come to terms with it. I was cracking up. I loved it. Neil Patrick Harris. Doogie Howser. NPH, dude. He does not want. for Britney Spears to be a regular character or keep coming back. And he doesn't like the idea of, you know, these big stars doing the cameo thing, really. And he's talking about it pretty openly, right?
Yeah, because, you know, he's one of the stars of How I Met Your Mother. And they just had Britney on the other week. And it was huge for them. They had like a million extra viewers on top of their normal ratings. And he basically said, you know, in regards to Britney, she's not an actress. She played a role for a week. She did a nice job. But, you know, being an actor is a lot of hard work. And, you know, he doesn't want their show to turn into like a revolving door of celebrities. And that's the only reason people are tuning in. He says, no, thank you. Denver beat the Warriors. Battle of eighth place. Let's talk about this for a second. Well, what's the deal, Eddie? It is ridiculous how the NBA is, Mike. Tell me. Because the NBA East is terrible. Their teams are terrible. There's going to be two or three teams that make it into the playoffs with a losing record. Now, the NBA West, there's going to be teams that do not make it, that it won 50. games this year. That doesn't seem right, Eddie. It is ridiculous. I'm infuriated being a Golden State Warrior fan. They're probably not going to make it. They're going to win 50 games this year. They're not going to make it into the playoffs. I think it is ridiculous. I don't appreciate it. I think it should be the best teams making it to the playoffs. Let's protest this. Let's get a grassroots campaign. Bring them home! Thank you very much.
Or your cat. Meat is murder. Meat is murder. Would you eat your cat? One is I don't really care about the NBA. There you go. So there's that. 570-1053 is our phone number at the beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment so you can call in about anything you want. It's open phones. Cool. And by the way, thank you again to Restaurants on the Run. Very nice of them to come in. And thank you to T-Rex and Chris and Russ for hanging out today. Thank you, Mikey. Paul McCartney sing a song about Restaurants on the Run? No, I think that was Band on the Run. It's a very, the names are very similar, but I think it was... Sing it, Eddie. Restaurants on the Run. I've heard of Eddie's version. Thank you. Could be that. Mikey Show, hello. P1HW. Hello, HW. It's your son. I abandoned my boy. I abandoned my son. What can I do for you, H.W.? Just because Sean Merriman's frequent of a show, I just wanted to call in saying that a project just came across my desk. I'm a structural drafter, and it's for Sean Merriman's house. Well, there you go. He's got a little development company called Lights Out Development, and I thought that was pretty cool. I just wanted to call in and say what's up and let you know.
Cool. Thank you. Mikey Show. 570-1053. Isn't he going to be a judge like tonight on the Miss America? I thought that's what that guy was going to say. But, yeah. He's a judge. Sean Merriman, a judge of the Miss America pageant. Wow. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. P1 Odin here. What's up? Hey, man. You check out South Park this week with Bill Belichick on it? Is that what they did? South Park? They ruined him. Cartman had to teach everyone how to cheat, just like Bill Belichick. Wow. What do you think of that, Rob? I know you're a big Patriots fan. That one's got to bum you out. That cartoon destroyed me. That's right. Really broken up. Whoa. Mikey Show. What's up, guys? What's going on? Not too much. First thing I want to say is, man, yesterday signed up as a P1. You guys are freaking awesome. I love you. That's awesome, dude. Thank you very much. We're glad you're listening. Nice. Mikey Show. Yeah. Hey, I heard...
Jeff Dunham's going to Temecula here next month. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas on how hard it would be to get him down here, maybe. Who? Who is that? Jeff Dunham, the comedian, ventriloquist. I don't know, bro. Jeff Dunham, what was he saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess he's wondering. He's going to be playing in Temecula. I'll work on it. He wants to know if Eddie can get him down here. We'll see if Eddie can do something with that. Because there's nothing funnier than ventriloquism on the radio. Yes. It works well. It's a good medium for it. That's my part-time job. See, that's not even Rob talking in there. I was drinking water while doing that. What's been amazing is we've had a mime in the studio this whole show long. Oh, wow. It's really amazing. Trippy. At the end of the show on Fridays, I do something called Giving You My Testimony. And it's basically where I just kind of share with you a little bit of my history. And, you know, I was telling somebody about it the other day in terms of kind of what it takes to have an addict become an addict. I mean, on one side of it, you have predetermined things in the person's makeup and all that kind of stuff, but then you also have environmental stuff, like, you know, the environment the kid is raised in and that kind of deal. Well...
All I can tell you is that it must have been right with me because that's what happened with me. And I started drinking at a very, very young age. And I had a brother, my oldest brother, asked me one time, he said, you know, we have alcoholism in the family. Doesn't that bother you? Doesn't that scare you a little bit about the drinking? I remember we were in his car. We were driving in Tucson, Arizona. And I remember saying to him, well... That's why I'm going to really keep an eye on it, you know, make sure it doesn't ever get to that point. But the problem with it is, is that it isn't like on a Tuesday, you feel like you may be a normal drinker. And then on Wednesday, you're a different kind of drinker. Just sort of happens. But it wasn't the only obstacle that was in my way. I had other stuff going on too. And I was one of those types of personalities that would kind of do anything for people to like me.
I always wanted to be liked. It's a big part of my personality is just that I just wanted people to like me. And so it was hard to turn things like alcohol and other stuff down. But I was also willing to go to great lengths in my life to achieve what I thought was important stuff. So I was making myself get sick at points so that I would stay thin. I was doing a lot of things like that. Been times in my life where I have experienced immense loneliness. There have been times in my addiction to alcohol where I would just shut the blinds in my apartment because I didn't want anybody to know that that was the situation that I was in. I was embarrassed of it. I turned the phones off, didn't want to answer the phone, and my family wasn't able to communicate with me. This one night, I was laying in bed, and I knew that I was going to die pretty soon. And when I say pretty soon,
I don't really know if that's a month or a couple of years, but I knew that it wasn't going to be a situation where I was going to be living a long time because I could feel stuff in my body starting to break down. And so I was laying in bed this one night and I had tears rolling down my face and I just remember asking Jesus Christ to come into my life and to do something to change me. And I got this really warm feeling. I eventually started telling... You know, Eddie and Sky and everybody. Hey, you guys, I think I'm going to go to treatment. I'm going to go to treatment to get over this alcohol problem. And they were really supportive and probably pretty relieved, too. Like my whole family was. The reason, part of the reason that I let people know about this stuff is because it's hard for me to tell you this stuff sometimes. Every time, man, at 10, right around 10, 20, my heart starts beating faster. Because I know that I, you know, I'm going to tell you this stuff. And it's hard for me, too, because.
I'm a guy, you know, guys are guys. We have these different things in us like pride and ego and stuff like that. And I got plenty of that. So it's hard to tell you some of this stuff. But the reason that I tell you is because I'm telling you the way that he saved my life. If it happened today in 2008 and there was somebody from the Union Tribune there at the time and they had a camera, the headline would be on the front page of the Union Tribune. Jesus Christ saves man's life. And it would say it like that. Because that was just a fact. That's just what happened. And so that's why I share it with you like that. Because I know that there's people that are listening right now that are in the same kind of addiction that I was. Maybe it's to alcohol or maybe it isn't. Maybe it's to cocaine or meth. And right now as you're listening, you're going, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're talking about me, man. Or when you hear me talk about that loneliness that I experience where you're so lonely.
And you feel so desperate that most of the time you just want to cry. You just feel like most of the time you just want to cry. Or you've just lost a loved one, a mother or a father or, God forbid, a child. Or you're in a situation where you have an eating disorder or something like that. And nobody knows about it. It's a secret. That's why I tell you this, because a lot of times people go, well, I would do something about it, but the only reason that I don't do anything about it is because I don't feel like I have anything anyway. Like, what's the point of getting sober? Because what do I have anyway? And I've felt like that. I've really, really felt like that. And so that's why I do this thing every Friday, to tell you that there is hope with me. What it was for me was just giving that little window of opportunity to Jesus Christ and letting him get in there. And then once he got in there, he just started working on me. He's still doing it. He's still working on me. I'm still becoming different. And I can't even tell you, man, like there was a time where I wasn't, I was not a smiley person and I didn't smile and I wasn't happy. But I can tell you that I do have that genuine, I have a genuine happiness today that I've never had in my life. And a genuine sense of confidence that I never had in my life. If you go to my website, you can find out more.
more about my story, but also you can find out at the website, you can find out how to get help. If you have any of these issues and you need some hope in your life, just go to mikeyshow.com and type in the keyword help. And it'll tell you some really cool resources. It'll tell you about all the changes that happened with me. And it'll tell you how you can have a new life. But it's about hope. That's why we played this song at the end of the show on Fridays. It's from a band called Third Day. And the song is called Tunnel. And I say it every time, but I mean it every time, too. Please really listen to the words of the song. Really listen to the words of the song. No matter who you are and what your station in life is, really listen to the words of the song. We'll be back here on Monday to do this all over again. Missy's up next. We'll see you. Thank you. I won't pretend to know what you're thinking. And I can't begin to know what you're going through.
