The Mikey Show on Rock 105.3 featured Wesley Snipes' three-year prison sentence for tax evasion, with Denzel Washington and Woody Harrelson's letters failing to spare him, while also debating whether Sean's germaphobia would survive a boat cruise award ceremony where Shawnee spewed on his car. The hosts played several games including the Movie Word Association where Eddie won a pass to the Iron Man premiere, and Battle of the Sexes where Team Sass won via correct answers on topics like Walter Payton's nickname and Mazda's 'Zoom Zoom' slogan. Marcus Allen appeared as a guest to discuss the San Diego Celebrity Classic, sharing draft day stories involving ESPN, Al Davis, and his emotional connection to the event's 10th anniversary, while Mike gave a personal testimony about addiction recovery through Jesus Christ and the song 'Tunnel' by Third Day.

is 6-0-6. Actor Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison yesterday for tax evasion. What a surprise. The Padres offense ruins another sterling pitching performance, scoring no runs as they lost to the Giants 1-0. It does not look good. What do you mean, Mike? Just because they've only scored five runs In 53 innings in their last four home games? Ouch. You mean that's why? That is awful. That is just awful. That's worse than awful. I wonder what they're going to point at. Are they going to point to Bud Black? Are they going to point to the players? Or what are they going to point to? Because they're going to start pointing. I know exactly who to point at. What is it? Well, you point at management for thinking that this is an acceptable offense to put out on the field. It's not. You know, you knew going in that the lack of power was going to be a little tough to get over. And the fact that they just can't get any hits enough to manufacture runs, you're not going to score any runs. So what, do we expect our pitchers to throw shutouts every game? Like, that's crazy. It's absolutely crazy. That's terrible. Well, I hope they turn it around somehow. Uh.
Welcome to the program. It's Friday, finally. And you can give us a call at 570-1053. I'm the host. My name is Mikey. If you've never heard The Mikey Show before, there are seven people on the show. Hopefully, there's a lot of you like that because you have friends or family or whatever that have been saying to you for a long time, you should listen to The Mikey Show. It's my favorite show. And you listen to something different, and you're like, okay, finally, I'll give it a shot. is you've got to listen a little bit because it takes a little while to get the little intricacies of it, you know, and understand who everybody is and all that kind of thing. It takes a little while. Sometimes it takes about a week. Sometimes it takes a couple. But once you know who everybody is, you'll really enjoy the show a lot. There's seven people. It is myself and Eddie, Sky, Sean, Ashley, Boston Rob, and Zeth. It didn't work again, Seth. I don't know how to save stuff on my stupid word. I'll look at it during the break. I even did that thing where I put save as. I'll go in there and mess around with it. I just don't understand. And then there was something else the other day. Something else. Oh, I have to learn shortcuts for my keyboard. You know how to like on a PC you hit control alt delete.
and it'll make whatever program you're working on stop. Don't know how to do that with Apple yet. Haven't figured that out. It isn't Control-Alt-Delete. It's different. I wouldn't have thought that. Yeah, so I've got to figure all that out, and then I'll be ready to start the show. So we'll see you guys later. So just hold on, everyone. That's right. I'm the host of the show. I'm 38 years old. My name's Mikey. I'm doing a thing today for StarPal. They help kids out, and StarPal is, it was designed to inspire and aid the youth of San Diego to make positive choices through active participation in educational and recreational activities. Yeah, so there's going to be some Padres out there and some Chargers out there, and I am going to be a waiter. A waiter? That is correct. I've never been a waiter. Oh, no. This is going to be over real quick. Oh, no. It might be. I think it might be over real quick. You might want to bring a change of clothes. Oh, no. All right. It's going to be at Balboa Park, and it's 1130 this morning to 130 this afternoon. And, yeah, it looks like it's going to be a pretty cool deal. Do you smell what Barack is cooking? Thank you. Are you cooking? It should be really cool. It's called the Superheroes for Youth 8th Annual Celebrity Waiter Luncheon.
So I don't know how I got in there. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy, 35 years old. Is your wife's birthday today? It is actually today. It is actually today. Happy birthday. Happy birthday, Mama D. Happy birthday. That's pretty cool. So what is her sign? Same as yours? No, I actually just found this out. What? I thought it was the same as mine, too, because, you know, we're... both April, but I guess it cuts off at like the 17th or something like that, and she is a Taurus. Oh. Look at that. And she shares this birthday with Al Pacino. Is that right? Yes. We're doing something new every day. How about that? I believe Renee Zellweger. Oh. Oh, hey. How about that? Very splinty. That's right. Hello. What's up? Sky's our news girl. She's 30 years old. Hi. And yes, she does do a lot of work in the... landscaping industry. Yes, we have decided to put this weekend's plans on hold due to the pending heat wave. They are forecasting temperatures in the high 90s, low 100s Sunday in Inland Valley. So I decided, you know what, we probably shouldn't be using gravel. Take back, watch the draft all weekend. That's right. I found a way to do it.
She wanted to watch that draft, and she was going to find a way to get it done. No. No, thank you. Good job. Good job. The NFL draft. Shawnee O'Boy is our sound effects guy. He is 38 years of age. Shawnee. That's right. Shawnee. Every morning. Hey, Shawnee. Every morning. Hey, Shawnee. Shut up. Hey, Shawnee. I got a story to tell you about Shawnee a little bit later on. Oh, no. Oh, no. It's... It's... Just delicious. No. Oh, yes. You're not going to believe your ears. Oh, no. Oh, tell me now. Ashley is our assistant producer. She's 24 years of age. She'll be 25 soon. Seriously. It's not that far away. Oh, my gosh. Now she's 24 and three quarters now. Yeah, that's true, right? Yeah. And she's got blonde hair.
You've dressed very summery today. I don't know that I've ever seen this outfit before. Is this new? Oh, my gosh. No, I've had this top forever. Yeah. I don't know. Have you worn that here? I don't know that we've seen you in that. I don't think so. I mean, I literally bought it at a Goodwill store probably like four years ago, and I've probably worn it once. There you go. And I found it today, and I was like, I probably should wear this again. Very nice. Very nice. Yeah. Very nice. Ashley, as you know, is a yoga gal. She really does enjoy the yoga. Very much so. Did you go last night? Of course, yeah. Because my dad was in town Monday through Wednesday and I couldn't go. And I barely made it to class yesterday. I was so distraught. It just throws my everything off. Everything off. So it was really awesome to go last night. I'm glad you're back in there. Do you do the hot one where they turn the heat up in there and you do the yoga? Did you do that one last night? Or is it every time you do that?
See, you're, I think, referring to Bikram, which is 120 degrees, which I think I'm going to go to today. Oh, you've never done that before? I've never done that one. The one that I do is heated in a 95 degree room. And I'll either do hot fusion, where it's like you're doing all this, like, balancing. Now, wait, I have a question. Or with sculpt with weights. And this may seem very naive, but can you actually, if we in our own, if we have central heating, can we actually pump our heat up to 95? Or does it take some special system to do that? How do they get the room so hot? You just walk in there and it's hot. Yeah, it's kind of like a sauna. They have just heat blowing in. It's really awesome. It sounds great. You've got to get there early. You've got to really mentally get yourself in the zone. It's hard to breathe. If you don't know how to breathe, yoga is all about breathing. That's the whole center of you being able to do the moves. Stay in the class. Question. What do they have underneath you while you do this? Well, we all have our own yoga mats. I have a yoga mat, and then you have, like, if you're really into it. Don't even say it. I just have a question. No, I'd rather not. I have a question for you. Sean's a germaphobe. Well, and keep in mind, some places provide the mat, so you... Oh, it's been... They reuse it. Yeah, they'll watch it. Sure, sure. Yes, yes. Okay. Reuse them.
It's recommended that you bring your own, though. Yeah, well, I bet. Because, you know. But in this scenario that I'm going to paint for Sean, it's not an option. It's a dollar to rent the mat. Okay. All right. Sean comes at five bucks. So you're there in the room, Sean, and it's eight o'clock at night, and I guess four classes have already taken place. Yeah, that would be about right. Yeah. And so what I want to know as a germaphobe is how much will it cost to get me to get you? To do push-ups on one of them. You're a jerk. Until those arms are just given out. 31. 32. Herpes. You'd never get me in the room. In the room? Never get me in the room. Wow. But Sean, eventually you'd be able to touch your toes. If you did it enough. You limber. You sure are, Sean.
Yeah, I'm missing out on scabies and rabies. Kyle shingles. That's not necessarily the case. Yucky doodle. You're going to get sick. Let's see. Boston Rob is our phone screener, singer-songwriter, good, close, personal friend of all of us. And he does not have a goatee anymore. He shaved it off on Monday. No. Skye, how are you adjusting? I have finally been able to look him in the face, but only once or twice since the shaving. That's a true statement, by the way. It's not easy. We're not saying that to make a joke. We're not. Yeah, so it's still a work in progress, Mike, but, you know, we're doing better. A little better. A little better. Eddie's over it, right, Eddie? Pretty much. I mean, I've, you know, come to grips with it. I'm not happy, but what can I do? Yeah.
See, and for the benefit of those of you that are tuning in for the first time, you may wonder, well, I don't understand. Like, Sky and Rob, are they dating? No. It's not that. Sky's actually happily married and Rob's engaged to be married. It's not a romantic thing. It wouldn't matter who it is. Sky has a real issue with change. Yeah. And would prefer for everything to stay the same. It's been a tough week with this, Mike. That's been a tough one, watching him do that. Lots of change this week. I'm not a fan. Rob and I are dating. However, he is already over it. And then there is Roosevelt, Zethi and Oates, the third, Esquire, Jr. There he is. His name is Zeth. And Zeth is a little different today as well. Okay. Yes. Yes. Okay. I believe he's making a political statement. No, he certainly is. Oh, he's not. I believe he's making a racial statement. Whoa. I'm not. What? It's finally coming out. I believe he's making a statement to the San Diego Police Department. Yeah. No. I miss you.
Get prepared to get arrested this weekend. I miss you. Right after I did it, I thought that too. I'm going to get pulled over again within the week. You may get approached by the UFC and they take a look at you and they're like, hey, would you like to join? Let's do it. Zeth has shaved his head again. He was letting it grow up for a long time. I thought it was looking, well, yeah, I will say, when he puts stuff in it, it looks pretty cool. Right. When he doesn't put stuff in it, it looks like he should be on the end of a pencil. It's accurate. You guys know how lazy I am, so I'm not a fan of doing extra work, so here we are today. That's right. So, Zeth, when did you shave the head? Pretty much right after I got home yesterday. Yeah? Yeah. How'd you do it? Did you have to use scissors first to get through all the hair? No, I got some pretty good clippers, so I just went straight with the clippers. Where'd you do it? Sweet. In the bathroom. In the bathroom? Did you do what Sean does and lay out a big plastic garbage bag? No. No. I just swept it up afterwards. You just what? Swept up the hair afterwards off the floor. So you did it like in the middle of the bathroom right then? Just let it fall on the floor and then you gathered it up? Yep. There you go. And then you took a razor. You did not take a razor to it. No. It's just the lowest setting on the clippers. Mm-hmm. Will you take a razor to it? Nah.
I've done it before. I don't really like it. I like the way it looks. Yeah. That's hot. My head's really white right now. What? What motivated this? I just, I got tired of it. It was looking scraggly, man. It looked nasty. Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. There it is. That's a good tip. Yeah, it is. And we've got a couple of people in the studio today. Holy moly. Oh, my. Ladies and gentlemen, let us first introduce Christina. Tejada. She is, of course, married to Miguel Tejada, the baseball player. Congratulations. Christina is 19 years old. She played P1 Trivia, did very, very well, and we let her come in. She is a driver for TC Construction. What do you think about that? Well, hello. That's right. That's awesome. Yeah, and she got her nails specially done for the occasion. Yes! Let me see. What do you got, Christina? Cool. Yeah, he needs to get a close-up look of what's working over there. Sky sounds annoyed.
On this one? Oh, wow. On her thumbs, she's got pandas. Okay. Well, I'm one of her thumbs. There's a panda. Okay. Wow. Look at that. On her other thumb, it's ham. Oh, wow. It's a ham. It's a beautiful ham on a plate. She's got one right. What is this on all the other fingers? P1 Army. Wow. Who did that? My mom does nails. Really? Yeah. She's really creative. So she's got letters and she can do the whole thing. No, it's all freehand. No, come on. She wrote that on your finger? She drew that? It's all freehand. She drew all that. We've got to take a picture. That's pretty amazing. It's too bad I don't have a camera. I have my camera. Can we somehow make this work? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I bet we can do that. I bet that takes a picture. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Zeth, can you get on that? Well, that's really cool. Oh, my God. Look at that. I mean, you guys saw the work that was done there, right? It's awesome. That's a pretty amazing job. I didn't even know you could do that. I didn't either. That is an amazing bunch of work there. Yeah. Already? Yeah, good morning. Oh, it's Dr. Wayne. Hey, how you guys doing? It's Dr. Wayne. The earliest we've ever heard from you. Oh, yeah, I get up at 4.30 a.m. to work out.
Oh, is that right? Yeah, it takes a half an hour to put on the baby oil, and then I get rolling. Well, why would you put on baby oil to work out? Well, you know, it helps with the weights. No, it doesn't. Well, it does, actually. It makes it more aerodynamic, for one. What the heck are you talking about? And you can either be too lubricated is one thing that I learned in the Army. No, you're in the Army? That's right, Eddie. I was in the Army. I'm Dr. Wayne. Uh-huh. Okay, weird. Eddie Hood, I was just listening to the radio, and I heard you guys talking about how you wanted to take a picture of there's a woman in the studio, right? Yes. That was correct. And I heard that you wanted to take a picture of her fingernails or what have you. That is correct. So I was just going to ask Zeth, hey, Zeth, did you get that camera I sent for your birthday? I mean, how many times? He told you no yesterday. Oh, I didn't get it yet. His birthday was a long time ago. No, I thought that after I talked to you on the radio, he may have gone back to the old, you know, mail area and seen that it came in. So I'm guessing it didn't come in again, huh? No, I don't think that. Didn't come in again, eh? No.
Oh, boy, that Amazon.com. You ordered a camera off Amazon.com for Zeth. That is right. For his birthday. For his birthday, because I've heard Mikey complain about that camera problem forever. So I tell you what, why don't you just put me on hold there, buckaroo. And I'll have Boston Rob just give me Zeth's MySpace link, and I'll make sure I get it to him. Dr. Wayne, this doesn't make sense. We need a digital camera. I don't know how a Polaroid would. We need to stop trying to get his home address and stuff. Yeah, I mean, what year is it? It's 2008. I think you could scan those suckers, just scan them. So take a Polaroid and then scan it. Well, take a Polaroid, yes, scan it, put it on a disc, then transfer that over via USB. Oh, boy. Why? I don't know. I'll show Seth how to do it. I used to work in IT, so just put me on hold there. You're a doctor and you used to work in IT. Yeah, I did. So you're a chiropractor that used to be in the Army and work in IT. That's right. And you work out. And I like cars and really like the ladies. Yeah. Hang on a second. My wife is calling me. Hang on a second. We never hear her. What's that, darling?
Ah, yes. Mad passionate lovemaking. That's what she wants to do. So I better get going. It was wonderful talking to you. Dr. Wayne, he's a strange guy, isn't he? Okay. So let's see. It says here on the information about Christina, she says she's pretty much a refried meatball stuck in East County. And the reason she says that is... She is Italian and Mexican, so she's a refried meatball. I like it. Me too. Your Mexican-ness is what defines you. And she says that she golfs and likes doing guy stuff. Like, what kind of guy stuff? Give me an example, Christina. Like sports or going off to the desert, riding, anything like that. There you go. How did you get into the guy stuff? Did you have brothers? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How many brothers? Six brothers and sisters. Oh, my. Ooh. Mexican. Six brothers and sisters. Wow. And so where are you in that? Oldest, youngest in the middle? Where are you? Youngest girl. Oh, there you go. There you go. And then in the studio with us right now. Talk about it. P1 Buckley is in the studio. And Eddie's doing the bow. Eddie's doing the bow. I'm not worthy. Well, Eddie is a big fan of Buckley's.
Thank you. Voice of an angel. Yeah, Buckley, come over here to the microphone. Yeah, you can pull that door. Yeah, get right up in that sucker. Actually, I think I should be holding Eddie's hand. There you go. Now, Buckley is not what I expected. He looks like a member of the Sex Pistols. He really does. You know, he's got kind of that haircut that's, you know, it's short. But it's definitely that punk band almost. Now, not different colors, not spiky. It's not that. You'd have to see it to understand. But if you saw him, you would go, oh, yeah, he's in the Sex Pistols. He plays drums or something. It's a receding haircut called receding. It doesn't look like it, Buckley. He really does look like he could be in a punk band. And then he's got on a sleeveless T-shirt that he's cut, and it says P1 Buckley on it. It's fantastic. Now, why are we so happy to meet Buckley? First of all, he's a future Hall of Famer. Yeah. You know, there are some people who, and we haven't begun our induction ceremonies yet, but we're going to. And Buckley is, he's been calling into the show for years. And when we do Wuss Rock Jukebox, this guy is the best. There is no better. There is no better. Yeah. He's got the voice of an angel and he just is, he kills it when we do that stuff.
He's the bomb. He is the bomb. So Buckley, welcome. It's nice to have you here. Thank you. Good times. And it turns out that Buckley is in the insurance business. Oh, come on. What? No, he's not. That's not true. He is on a European tour or something in a band. Yeah. He actually is in a band. Really? Yeah, he actually is. He plays guitar and he sings. And the band is called Buckley's Ghost. Oh, yeah. There it is. So Buckley. I'm all in. Buckley. How did you come up with that? Where did the name come from? Buckley's Ghost. A little bit of it came from Jeff Buckley. Yeah. I know you guys have all heard of him. Guitar player. And then I was just sitting around watching King of the Hill one day and I heard him say something about Buckley's Angel. And I had already had kind of the word Buckley in mind and just had Buckley's Ghost. There you go. And the guys, how did you get the rest of the guys in the band? Were you friends in school or how did it happen? I moved here from Hawaii and met a bunch of guys. They were auditioning for a singer and just auditioned. Next thing you know, we were playing shows. There you go. Very cool. So 570-1053 is the number. And give us a call. You can call us at the beginning of the show like this. We do an open forum. You can call about anything you want. P1 T-Rex is on the line. What's up, T-Rex? Hey, what's up, you guys? I'm too much. I love you, Sean. Hey, I wanted to ask you also what his draft selection would be. He was picking for the Chargers.
What position? A lot of people are interested in what Eddie thinks about this stuff, man. He's got a good mind. I've kind of said this before. The Chargers are in a great position to pretty much just take the best athlete available, which is rare. Their roster is pretty set. So you're going to be drafting for depth, and the fact that we've lost Drayton Florence, that we cut Marlon McCree, I think getting a defensive back. would be really wise in the first round. Yes, Sky? Where is their first pick at? 27. Oh, okay. There's a couple of really cool things about the draft this year. One is, Eddie was telling us, that they have shortened it. Yeah, only 10 minutes per pick in the first round, shortened from 15. So, very happy about that. Eddie, do you think we should draft a running back? Absolutely. You know, I mean, there's a few guys that... I've also said if they fall to the Chargers at 27, I'm okay with them taking a running back. With the loss to Michael Turner, you're going to need a backup. So I'm totally okay with that. They need offensive line help, defensive line depth. So they can really go in a lot of positions. And the draft is tomorrow, and Eddie's going to be broadcasting live from downtown. Yeah, Rockin' Baja Lobster in the gas lamp starting at 11 a.m. The draft starts at 12, but we're going to do an hour pre-whatever.
So you can go down there and meet Eddie, hang out, get some food, enjoy the draft. And the thing that I think is really cool going into the draft is that it isn't like the Bobby Beathard days where, first of all, he was mortgaging away all those first-round picks. For terrible choices. Yes. Michael Ricks, he never worked out. Michael Ricks, there you go. Never did work out. Jermaine Fazan. Wow. Yes, yes. Wow. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Well, and these are the lesser known ones. He did sign a guy named Ryan Leaf. How'd that work out? I don't remember. It did not work out. I don't remember. It did not work out. And boy, you remember, you know, the other quarterback that went, you know, that year was a guy named Peyton Manning. No. He went that year, and he did work out. But there was a big debate, I remember. Yeah, who's going? Like, ooh, should we take Ryan Leaf or Peyton Manning? Yeah. Ah, well, let's take Ryan Leaf. Yeah, let's take Ryan Leaf. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. That's right. There you go. But that's the cool thing. I'll tell you what, this S.A.J. Smith, he gets it. Yeah, he's a very wise man. He's a very wise man, and he understands the draft. It's not easy.
It's not easy. He understands the draft. I mean, look at our picks. I mean, we've, you know, drafted Antonio Cromartie the past couple years, Sean Merriman, Luis Castillo. I mean, really, he's been hitting on all his picks. Yeah, he has. Really good, really good general manager. So, okay. Call us. 570-1053 is the number. It's Friday, which always feels nice. It's always good when the weekend's here and we're getting ready to do stuff. And here's our text number. If you're not a member of the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, text the word Mikey to 35253. And we'll get you all dialed in with that. And if you're already in the Text Army, just text us. It's a great way to communicate with us. And we really do try to get those texts on the air. What else are we doing today? Battle of the Sexes is coming up. So Chantel will be coming into the studio. Team Sass. Is there really a battle anymore? I know it. Shut up. It's easy. It's easy. How am I hurtful? Don't be like that, bro. Why are you attacking me? We're trying, man. You realize that if you start attacking Eddie, you're actually attacking a guy that is in the Union Tribune today, so you guys might just try.
No, Eddie's in the sports section today. So check out the sports section of the UT. Eddie's in there mentioned because he's going to be broadcast in the draft. Go to the Mikey show website, check out our blogs and really cool stuff on the show today. First of all, we have audio of Jeremiah Wright, Obama's pastor. He's finally talking, did an interview. We'll talk about that. And does your chick sing in the car, and does it bother you? Oh, man. Uh-oh. What if you sing in the car? That is a deal, too. Not that I do it. Not that I do it at all. Right. Yeah, but you do. Only when Michelle Branch is on. Yes. Or Vanessa Carlton. I'm Mariah Carey. Gay Chase just said, that's really gay, Rob. Not if it's gay. 570-1053 is the number. I'm going to tell you what happened with Sean next. Next. Spotlight. 1053. I was in Miami for two weeks. And the last day I was there, they stole my rental car. Because I guess they didn't have time to load a gun and shoot me.
On the street was a Lexus and a BMW. And in between was my car. The rental car. The Plymouth Horizon. Here's a math problem for you. Don't ponder it too long. But how many drugs would you have to consume over what period of time? To be standing on the street going, gotta have the Horizon. You kidding me? I've never driven a car that's aqua. P1 Recruiter is on the line. Recruiter, are you there? Yes, I actually wanted to tell you that I saved a lot of money on my insurance auto, my auto insurance also. Did you call AIS? Oh, yeah. Heck yeah. How much did they save? I saved about $2,000 a year, and I've got a lot of violations on my driving record. I just got my license back in January, too. Are people hearing this? Are people hearing this? I'm hearing it every day. 1-800-777-4AIS. I'm talking over him. 1-800-777-4247. People are really, I'm on this insurance. You save money if you do AIS. 1-800-777-4247. Thanks for the call. On July 3rd, 1993, I was riding on the back of a friend's personal watercraft. After we hit a wake, I bounced off. and was run over by a boat. The propeller nearly severed my fingers, arm, and leg. One minute, I was riding along. The next, I was lying on the shore, bleeding. Since then, I've had six surgeries. If only the boater hadn't been drinking that day, I could still do the things I used to do, and I wouldn't have this pain every day. Remember, if it's your boat, it's your responsibility.
Do you know a flood-damaged car is like a ticking time bomb? Airbags may not work and the car's electrical systems are rusting away. Nearly half of these flooded cars may be fixed up and resold. Ask your used car dealer for a free Carfax Vehicle History Report or go to Carfax.com. Thanks, San Diego, for making McCune Chrysler Jeep the Dealer of the Year. We've got a couple of things to be aware of right now. Some brake lights approaching this earlier accident here, wrapping up in the south. Make that westbound 78 to southbound 5 on that ramp, slowing your ride a little bit on the approach to the 5 freeway. Once you get on the 5, though, man, looking fantastic down the entire North County stretch. In fact, it's clear from here all the way down to the south bay. South 15, you will find a bit of a slowdown developing out of Escondido from Felicita. Make that auto parkway now to Via Rancho Parkway. Westbound 52, starting to see some traffic as well. Coming out of Santee, coming off the 125 at the top of the summit there. A problem on the northbound 15 out of Murphy Canyon, though. As you come off that 8th freeway, you're going to hit lots of heavy traffic here. And that crawls up to an accident involving a motorcycle down in lanes here. Medical crews on the scene is just past Arrow Drive, and that's why you're seeing that back up. South Bay traffic, 505 northbound, moving right along. Nothing slowing you down on those freeways right now. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Best new cars make the best used cars.

Now back to the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. I'm a strange guy. Strange person. Eddie. We don't care. We love it. Boys to Men rules. Sky. If I ever have a work-related nightmare, I am always a waitress. Sean. I floss a minimum of three times a day. Boston Rob. It takes a lot of thought to look this poor. And Ashley. Am I an example of stupidity over here? No, just on a rock 105.3. Let's do it. Not that.
Welcome back to the show. It is 640. Oh, man, this makes me angry. Well, it's final now. North County will be changing their area code from 760 to 442. Change! NBA playoffs last night. Houston, Toronto, and Washington all won to avoid going down 0-3 in their series. Sorry, Sky. Our text number is 35253. Our phone number is 5701053. There's some text we're getting. Mikey, when's the P1 sticker strike? I don't want to miss it. I'm in Palm Springs, but I'll be driving down. That's P1 trauma. The sticker strike is on May the 10th, Saturday, May the 10th. Qualcomm. It's going to be huge. Mikey, instead of Control, Alt, Delete, try Command, Option, Escape. To quit your program on Mac. The rest of the show and our guests in the studio just saw how hurt, sad, and fearful I was. Oh, no. During the commercial break at trying to figure something out. Now, let me tell you something. I love, I love. I love my new computer. I do. I do. I mean that genuinely. Like, I actually get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Occasionally, I'll run across something that is very frustrating for me. All right. It's hurtful and sadful and fearful. Yes. So, what I ran into just a moment ago is that I will, somebody will send me.
An email that'll have a document on it. Oh, I know it. I'm just, what am I? I'm fearful. I'm fearful. I'll never figure it out. This is probably a stupid question, but you're saving the document to your computer first before you make the changes. This is what's weird, Sky. Honestly, this is what's weird. And it's a good, it's a perfectly honest question because with Mac, it's different than PC. When you save on a PC. You double click on the document, right? Yeah. And then this window comes up that shows you where you want to put it. Right. So you choose. Yeah. You press the save button. It's there. It's there. Yeah. Okay. On a Mac, when you get an email and it has a document, there's a button that says save. Okay. And when you click that button, you see this little flash on your screen like a little bloop. Like something just happened. Okay. But you don't know what just happened. I don't know.
I don't know any of this. Oh, no. I don't know any of this. Oh, have you tried caps lock, shift, and the letter Z? I did not try that. You should try that. What I want to try is foot, foot, wink, fist. So then, when you're looking at the window of the email, you see the little icon of the document. Yeah. And so first I save it because I'm like, well, I want to save it because I want to have it. But there it is right there in the email. I'm going to double click on it and open it. So I open it up and there's my Word document, right? It's from Eddie. It's the grid for today. The grid is what shows us what we're doing today, right? And so there was a blank space on there and I wrote in, got to tell Sean's story. And I click Save As. And it comes up. It says, you want to replace the old one? I say, yes. I do that. And then I quit the Word program. And I can't print from this computer. So I have to send it to Zeth to print. Oh, boy. So you are able to find it after you save it. Yeah. And it's all changed. Even though you don't know where it went, you're still able to find it.
I know exactly. I do know where it went. Even though it didn't tell you where it went, you're still able to retrieve it. Through hours and hours of trying to figure it out, I now know where it went. Okay, cool. It went where the guy that set it up told it to go, which makes sense. He wanted it to go to My Documents. Oh, nice. Okay. Because I still use Microsoft Word, just like you guys. Yeah. They have it for Mac. And so I open up an email to Zeth. I click on Attachments. There's My Documents. Nice. I find the show grid. I send it to him. He prints it. No changes have been made. What the? It's like the original that Eddie sent me. How is that possible? I don't know any of this. I don't know why. I don't know any of this. I don't know why. It's very odd. And I had to change it. You know how what I was doing before when I was trying to save stuff? I was just clicking the save button. That didn't work. So then I changed it to save as. Now that's not working. I don't know what's going on. Where's P1 Nerd? Nerd! Nerd! So let's tell this story. Even though I almost forgot because it wasn't on my lid. Let it go, bro. We can forget. It's okay, dude. Oh, no. By the way, one more text that I don't want to forget. Hey, Mikey Show, just wanted to give a shout out to Eddie's wife, Al Pacino, and my best good friend, Shelby, who is turning 16 today. Happy birthday to all. P1, clever name.
Sean, as you know, is a very sensitive creature. He is also the type of person who does, and many of you are like this that are listening, not really the type of person that likes the spotlight shined on him. Right? He does not. He doesn't really, he would be so happy if for the entire show we forgot and never went to him for anything. If we forgot he was on the show and he just did his job and he played his sound effects and we never acknowledged him, it would be his perfect world. It's when the name Sean comes up and I go, oh, hey, Sean. And we start to focus on him. He gets very uncomfortable. It's his personality. So with that being said, Sean, why don't you tell everybody what just happened with you? I have to? Mm-hmm. They have these, like, the company wants to motivate their employees, so.
The way they feel it's, you know, the way to do that is to have these awards ceremonies. Do they even do that at Clear Channel San Diego here? Yeah, we have the team awards. Every market's supposed to do it. We do have that? Yes. Well, we've never won any of that. Actually, Eddie won once. Eddie won? Yeah, we all voted for him. Eddie, where did you vote? They send out emails saying, send your nominations in. Hello. And then you can nominate in the person. You never send me that. No. You don't want those, dude. Dude, I'll vote for people on this show. I'll vote for us. You really want? It's junk email. That's what it is, dude. What? Rob, if Rob decides, hey, Mike's not getting this. Team nominations, dude. If I sent that to you, you'd come to me and be like, what is this? Are you retarded? Let me come to you and say it. I would vote for you. I'd vote for Eddie. I'd vote for people. Sky would be getting awards. Oh, yeah. Then you know what? I'll send them to you whenever we get them. Thank you. So let me get this straight, Mike. You want to make changes to your insurance? Is that it? Okay, fine.
I guess we have awards in the whole company at Clear Channel. So what happened, Shani? So I'm sitting at my desk and my boss comes over and he goes, you see the email about the award ceremony? I said, yeah. He goes, you're not going, are you? And I go, no, I never go to those. You know that. He goes, well, I would really, really like you to go to this. You know what it means, right? Your boss knows you don't go and suddenly he wants you to go? Oh, okay. So I go, you really, really want me to go or I gotta go? And he goes, a little bit of both. All right, all right, I'll go, I'll go. So then I find out that it's like you would expect that it would be like in the conference room or somewhere on the premises. No, no.
No. Where is it? It's on a boat, Mike. On a boat? On a boat? It's on a boat. Harbor Cruise. Huh? You've got to be kidding me. Sean lives in San Francisco. He's in San Francisco at this very moment in a high rise in San Francisco. Right near the water. Right near the water. Let's throw from the water. That's right. And he does the show. We just connect with him via satellite. We see him on a camera. Right by McCovey Cove, in fact. On a boat. Where are you going? So lucky. Oh, well, they decided that they were just going to rent the boat. They weren't going to actually get a captain, so we were just tethered to the dock the whole time. Oh, my. What the point is that? The clear channel way. Oh, man. So awesome. Did you have your boat slews, Uncle Sean? Oh, Beto. Beto. You're going to make him shut down, Beto. Yeah, don't. Beto, leave him alone. Come on. It's already shut. No, don't do it, Sean. Come on. So. I already don't want to go out there because I don't like the spotlight. I don't want anything. Get out there. Get on the boat. And, like, this harbor sits right on. It's not like we're inside a physical harbor. It's just a dock that sits on the bay, right on the ocean. So it is rocky. It is choppy. And there's nothing worse than being on a boat that's tethered to a dock when the ocean is really rough.
Because you're banging up against the dock. So you get this like huge swell effect and then wham, right into the dock. Oh, dude. So already I'm feeling like really nauseated because I get seasick pretty easily now because I got sick in Hawaii one time. So I'm on the boat. It's really bad. And all of a sudden I'm feeling very, very faint. And I look down at my hands and they're just like white as sheets. Like I have no blood. They are, they're extremely cold. And they're, you know the point where it gets where you like, you can't even like curl your fingers in. They're like, they're stiff. Now, now check this out. Got to tell you this about Shawnee. In addition to this happening to him at this moment, he hates being around people. Oh, yeah. And it's packed in there. I mean, it's not like a giant boat, and we got 300 people in there. It's your own personal hell. First, he's a germaphobe. Second of all, he doesn't, I mean, I can just imagine what he must feel like when everybody's on this boat, drinking, laughing, talking loud. They were drinking like fish. He hates that stuff.
It just skeeves him out. Of course, you know, when people get wasted, they want to put their arm around you. They want to get in your face. And so I'm trying not to be impolite. Plus, he's antisocial. The people in the San Francisco Bay Area where he works, it's not like on the radio. On the radio, everybody knows about Sean because I say it. Up there. He doesn't, like, go through the office and say, hey, I'm a germaphobe, everybody. Don't touch me. They have no idea. They don't know. He probably should. He should. Let's get him a sign. Shut up. They don't listen because we're here. Right. So what happened, Shawnee? So I'm feeling really, really sick and really nauseated, and I kind of feel like I'm going to pass out. And right at that moment, they call my name to go up in front of everyone and accept this award. No. So I go up there. I get the award. What did you win? Most photogenic. Yeah, what did you win? You know what? I don't even know. Hold on. You don't even know? I have no idea. He just reached into a Vons bag and pulled it out. It was in a plastic bag.
Let's see it, Shawnee. What do you got? He's opening up a box. It's a plaque. And what does it say? What an honor. Programming outstanding performance presented to Shawnee. Yeah. Shawnee aboard. Congratulations. Yeah. Enormous. Well-deserved. Well-deserved. So they want me to say a few words, and I stammer through a couple of things. I pose for a photo with the boss, and I immediately grab my plaque. I walk right to the door. I walk right off the boat. I get in my car and I take off down the street. I get about two blocks away and I feel it. I pull over. I put my head out my window and I spew all over the side of my car. All over my car. And then I get on the freeway. I start to go home, and I know that there's a gas station, you know, a little ways out of San Francisco. I pull over. I pay my six bucks. I get a car wash, and I go, what a great day. Yeah, congratulations. Can you imagine this, guys? You should be proud. What, Shawnee? Just a mess. You can text us at 35253. You can call us at 5701053.
What's worse, spending 13 hours in an elevator and you can't sit down, or five minutes in a septic tank? I just got sick to my stomach. Now, ladies, as you're listening, I know there's a lot of ladies that are listening right now, and you're going, my gosh, why would he ask that? Because it's a debate. Now, before all you ladies say, there is no way. that I had hours done. Hey, don't talk like that. I would never spend... Stop it. ...five minutes in any subject pain. That is serious. That is serious. Okay, mine is. That is serious. I would never... Mm-mm. ...wearing my Jimmy Choo's. Stop it. Well, okay, but that just means that you're going to have to be in that elevator for 13 hours and about, oh, I don't know, three hours into it, you're really going to want to sit down. Oh, I'm in it. And it's going to be hot.
And it's probably going to be very claustrophobic. And you've got to stand for 13 hours. You can have this thing be over in five minutes. 570-1053, our text number, 35253. You're a whining little kid. This is the Mikey Show. At Corona, we're often asked, does serving Corona and Corona light at my Cinco de Mayo party really make that much difference? Well. So big game, big series this weekend with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Listen, we haven't been playing very good. You know that. I know that. We all know that. But this is going to be the series where we turn it around. Diamondbacks are in first place. We're in last place. Not after this weekend, buddy boy. I hate the Diamondbacks. What a series it's going to be. Sunday, probably the best pitching matchup of the season so far. Jake Peavy versus Brandon Webb. You know this is the way it always works, too. people don't expect it. They're not playing well and they're going to go up against the big guns and then watch. They probably kill them. It's always darkest before it's dawn. That's right, Eddie. You know what I'm saying? That's right. Big night tonight, Saturday, which is tomorrow. We've got a special Saturday afternoon game, 1 o'clock start. Padres seat cushions giving out to everybody. Where are you with a... a clear direction that you want to go in. If you're the type of person that's driving to work right now and you don't have one, you've been hearing me talk about the border patrol. I was thinking about this actually for a friend of mine who I know is going to be in need of a job soon. And I'm going to recommend this. And I think this may be a real blessing for this guy. And it doesn't matter if you're a guy or a girl. The border patrol is looking for applicants right now.
And you will be trained in firearms, defensive tactics, physical techniques. The list goes on and on. And I'm sitting here and I'm thinking to myself, I would do this. I mean, this is a really incredible career that pays well and could really change your life. And a lot of people have that misconception. You've heard me say this about... where you think that you're going to be sitting in a car just watching the border, which is not true. You're going to be on ATVs. You could be doing horse patrols. You could be doing SWAT, search and rescue, a lot of things. So borderpatrol.gov. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I love going to the movies, and I love watching the Food Network. Eddie. But I am. Heart of Earth. Sky. Hey, I spoke a lot of hot for many years. Yeah? Sean. I almost shot someone in the face one time. I'm kind of the transient of the bunch. And Ashley. Welcome back to the show. Our text number is 35253. It's 705. Bill O'Reilly says he wants to hold a media conference to discuss racy pictures of Miley Cyrus. It must have been his Foxtrot mime. He says that Jason Taylor is on the trading block. Kenny Mayne is going to be on the show this morning. What up? He's really funny.
My wife likes Kenny Main. Kenny Main has a very dry sense of humor. Maybe the driest sense of humor in the history of humor. Yeah. Like if you think of a person right now that has a dry sense of humor, try to compare it to Kenny Main when Kenny Main calls in. Think of the most dry sense of humor of somebody you know. I think Kenny Main may outdo them. So Kenny will be on the show next hour. So make sure you're listening. We have the battle of the sexes coming up in just a little bit. Although right now we're talking about what is the deal with having this, what are you going to do? You either are going to be in an elevator for 13 hours, okay? Right. Or you are going to be, and you can't sit down in the elevator. You're going to want to, but you can't.
Or you could be in a septic tank for five minutes. Skye is raising her hand. Skye. I have questions that need clarification. Any question you have, I can clear up about both the elevator and the septic tank. First, let's talk about the elevator. Okay. How many other people are in there with me? That's a good one. Now, if I answer you, does it mean that I'm answering for everybody or is this just Skye? I think it's everybody. It's everybody. Boy. Oh, boy. Okay. All right. Well, since you put it that way, there are... It's a... Normal size elevator. Okay. There's four other people in it. Okay. That makes it better. Why? You can kill time. I don't know. I would rather have somebody in there so I could at least talk to somebody. No, Eddie's right. I don't know. Because I'm not going to put anybody in a septic tank. So I might as well have it empty in the... If I'm in there by myself, I'm going to go nuts. Is it worse for you, Sky? Kind of, because if I can't... Yeah, because it's tighter in there. And if I can't sit, I'd want to pace in circles.
In the elevator. For 13 hours? But if there's other people in there. You don't want to talk to somebody? You know, I'd want to do like stretches. Oh, but dude, what about that guy? What if that guy's in there? That'd be terrible. So are you sticking to four other people or what are you doing? It's an empty elevator. It's going to be an empty septic tank. So it's an empty elevator. Okay. And then the septic tank, how full is it? Like if I'm standing in there, where does the level come on my body? I'll tell you what I'm going to go with. Ankle slappers. No, this was actually a punishment method used in, it probably still is to this day, a punishment method used in Thailand. I read a book called 4,000 Days, My Life in a Bangkok Prison. It's one of the most compelling books I've ever read in my life. 4,000 days. In fact, it's the book that I gave to Scott Weiland. Oh, wow. And this guy, as one of a punishment methods is, they put him in a septic tank and he had to stand waist high. Waist high. Waist high. And the latch is closed. The latch is closed. And you said five minutes versus 13 hours. Five minutes in there. Okay. Or 13 hours.
In the elevator, you can't sit down. What do I have to wear in the septic tank? In both situations, you are wearing what you are wearing right now. But I wear shorts. Whatever you're wearing right now is what you're going to be in there. Can I put pants on? It's whatever you're wearing right now. I like you wear pants. No, no, no. What are you wearing right now? Ladies, if you're wearing a dress right now on your way to work, the random question is hitting you. Hey, Mike, for the listeners that don't know, would you maybe mind telling them what a septic tank is? No. Everybody knows. Yeah, everybody knows. If they don't, if they don't, Google it. Yeah. Okay. Ashley's Googling it. She doesn't know. But listen, I'm going to leave this debate open for people that know. Christina, do you know? Yes. Okay. I don't like this. I don't either. I don't like it. It's a brain squeeze. It's a no win.
I was fine with doing the septic tank. I would have done the septic tank. What? I'm sorry. But five minutes, done and done. But I wear shorts. Like, I can't stand in a septic tank in shorts. Not only that, you have to understand. Wrong. Because the experience was described in that book. It's cold. So aside from being, you know, just awful. It's cold. Five minutes is nothing. I can get through five minutes. I can hold my breath for most of the time. Yeah. I'm like David Blaine, bro. I'm not even worried about it. But the shorts, does it change? Yeah, it changes everything. So now you're in the same thing, shorts, you know, shirt that you have on right now, but you're in an elevator. Yeah, the elevator is going to be horrendous for me because, like, not having anybody to talk to, physically not being able to sit down, like, my back would be destroyed. Being able to walk around and do that stuff, this guy gave me good ideas. I would have to go with the elevator just because I can't wear shorts and septic tank. Thank you. That's the only reason why. If I could wear pants, I would do the septic tank. Okay. For those of you that are accepting septic tank, I need to put a thought in your head. The elevator experience, I believe, will have a relatively short recovery time mentally. Yes. The other shall not. I'm okay. It's going to be horrendous.
The elevator will have a shorter time to recover from mentally. Close my eyes, go to the happy place. Utterly horrendous. So you're picking the septic tick? No, not with the shorts. I've got to take the elevator. He's taking the elevator. And I believe that his recovery, I believe mentally his recovery time will be, it's not going to be overnight, but it's going to happen. I don't know that recovery is going to take place mentally with the other one. It's going to take a while. I don't know any of this. Sky. Now we're going to take your phone calls, 570-1053, and our text number is 35253. Well, I suffer from a touch of claustrophobia. Oh, that's right. So it makes both of these scenarios not cool. You've got to remember that septic tank, Sky, it's not like a ballroom. You know, I can't imagine it's very large. No, yeah, and especially the fact that, like, the top is going to be closed. No.
No way, Jose. It's not easy. I'm a fan of the elevator being empty. You know that I'm a child sometimes. I would skip around that thing. I would sing songs. 13 hours. I would do stretches. I would tell myself stories. I would count backwards from a thousand multiple times. I do that when I try and go to sleep. So, yeah. I mean, it wouldn't be fun, but it would definitely be so much better than a septic tank. You realize you went in now, you wouldn't be getting out until like 8 o'clock tonight. Yeah. And you know what? I'd probably get press coverage for it, Eddie. No, dude, 8.15. No. That's okay. To me, it's tons better than being in the septic tank. What do you guys think I would take? Septic. I don't know. Mentally, that would jack you up. I think you would probably go with the elevator. I'll tell you which one I would take and why. Okay. I would take the septic. And the reason why is because I will be praying for five minutes straight. Just prayer, prayer, prayer, prayer, prayer. What are you wearing? But jeans and a t-shirt. So it's going to be. And I got boots on. You know, I got these like Doc Martin type boots on. So it's going to be terrible. Yeah. But it would be harder for me.
To go 13 hours of prayer, you know, it would be much more difficult. Well, 13 hours of anything. Standing, forget it. Be miserable for me. So I would have to take it. I just pray for five minutes like, you know what I mean? How about, oh, we don't have to ask Sean. No. Right? No. Even though Sean has a thing with his feet. Oh, the pain, Sean. Okay, Shawnee. You don't have your meds for your feet pain. Oh, well, then I would have no choice. I mean, I would. You have to take. I would have other very, you know, bad problems if I didn't. Yeah. So he's choosing septic. I wouldn't have a choice. He's a germaphobe. I would honestly, literally, probably die. Well, are your pills on you at this moment? Because I know you have a little pill box, so you think it's real fun to shake in people's face. Now, why are you saying that? Because he shakes it in your face rather often? Well, because he takes it, and then he'll go, and he'll, like, shake it in my face. Yes. And there it is. Mine, too. There it is. Yeah. But no, it wasn't in your pocket at that moment. No. Yeah. You're in the poopoo tank. That's right.
Oh, when has he got to do this? P1 Dale. P1 Dale, what would you do? Good morning. Good morning. The reason why you can't sit down in the elevator is because it's full of people. No, no, no. We've decided the elevator is not, it's empty. It's just you. You can't say that. We've just ruined all our fun. I know it. I know it. You can't say that. And the FCC is so dumb, too. I mean, interesting point, I guess. Yeah. Basically saying that eventually the elevator would turn into a septic tank. Yes, that is correct. That is correct. But I don't know. No way. They're not sitting down. If the elevator was full, it basically is a septic tank to Sean. Yes. That's true. Yes. Now, we got a guy on that says that he's actually had to do both. I think that you may know him. He goes by the name P1 Talon. Talon? What? Talon, you've done both? Yes, I've done both while in the Navy. And which was worse? I was not in an elevator, but I was in the superstructure of a submarine, which is so hell of a lot boring. Yeah? That's crazy! And you couldn't sit? No, because I was standing watch with a shotgun.
Which was worse? Because they have this thing called the personnel reliability program in the submarine community. Talon. Yes. Which was worse? Definitely the 13-hour watch. Wow. Oh, my gosh. My goodness. Why did you have to be in a septic tank? Because I was a navigation electronic technician, Mike. and we own the gauges that measure how full the sand tank is. So for those of us that don't speak English, what does that mean? Why did you have to be in there? That means the gauge broke, and we have to be able to tell how full the sand tank is so it doesn't overflow. So you had to go fix it? Yes. And what were you wearing? Yeah, what were you wearing? Protective clothing. A onesie, which is really weird. It was not fun. So you were in protective gear. Would it change your mind if you were in shorts and a t-shirt? No, I wouldn't change my mind. Oh, wow. You'd still take the take. It was actually quite pleasant. Yeah, for those of you that have never done it, you know. Thank you, Taylor. 35253. That is our text number, 35253. Here's some of the texts that we're getting on this.

Genuine Nissan service and parts. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Traffic's still quite tough with this northbound 15 here. This is just a mess of a ride to you this morning, trying to come out of the South Bay, actually off the 805 northbound 15, continuing up through City Heights, down into Murphy Canyon. This all started with a bad motorcycle accident blocking the left lanes here just past Arrow Drive. It's been out of the way, and injured parties have been transferred to the hospital, but traffic is still a mess. It starts to break up at Friars Road right now, but in the meantime, a traffic alert remains in effect, advising you to avoid that North 15 through that area. That, in turn, is affecting the westbound 8 big time, trying to get on to the northbound 15. That is backed up now from the college area. Actually, it starts on the 808 freeway in La Mesa, Fletcher Parkway out towards Lake Murray, and then from there, off and on from College to the 15. Westbound 52, getting to be a busy ride now off the 125 as you make that turn on the westbound 52, and that's a slow one all the way to the top of the 7. South 15, not too bad out of Escondido. Just a brief delay here through Rancho Bernardo through the construction zone. The coaster ride, South 5, staying quite tough, though, out of Encinitas into Solana Beach. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105.3. You went to sleep train? I went out to sleep train and bought myself a mattress finally. When did you do it? I went this Sunday, actually. Cool. What did you get? Yeah, I got a Beautyrest Comfort Classic. Did they deliver it Sunday, Monday, or when? Sunday when I told them to because I was moving that day. Really? It worked out perfect. That's pretty awesome. Yeah. Did they take your... Well, wait a minute. If you were moving, did they have to take your set or did you get rid of it yourself? No, I got rid of it myself. So they bring the new one in. Did they set it up for you? They set it up for me within like five minutes. And how did it feel that first night? Just like being in heaven. That's awesome, man. That's pretty... That's awesome, dude. That's awesome. Yeah, I tell people about Sleepton. Did they give you a good price? Oh, yeah, dude. I went in there after the promotion about getting everything for free. Mm-hmm. And the dude still... through and everything for free. And after I told him that Mikey sent me personally, he knocked off 700 bucks. That's awesome. Yeah. All right, brother. Thank you, Sanjaya. All right, dude. Talk to you later, man. Sleep change your ticket to a better night's sleep. The Mikey Show. Now something you might have missed. David Blaine is going to try to break the breath holding record. He has been training and what... Training? Yeah.
Before he goes underwater, he will fill his lungs with pure oxygen. Whippets. That's something different, Mike. Oh, I thought that's how you did it. No, that's how you trained. I mean, that's fun, but no. Yeah, I thought the way he trains was with those whipped cream cans. No, not now that way. So he will attempt this. Oh, look, it's David Blaine training. Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Welcome back. Welcome back. Whatever. It is 729. Is that right? Yeah. Oh, my. Guess the guy knows how to play baseball. They just throw him out there. Why not? You can't really do that in football because, you know, you can't really sign a guy and put him out on the field the next day. Yeah, you got to learn. You got to learn the plays. Yes.
Uh, 35253 is our text number. Our phone number, 5701053. Time to believe it. Mikey Show, Battle of the Sexes. Girls. Wanna see who's smarter. Finally. Girls. Love Battle of the Sexes. Me too. Chantel's in the studio. What up? Chantel, let me tell you, this is a thing that I've never been able to wrap my mind around about dancers. Let me help you out. How is it? Mm-hmm. That they are able to say to you, okay, I'm going to show you this routine. Yes. And you have five minutes and then we're going to do it. Yes. How is that even possible? How do you remember the stuff? How can you possibly remember the stuff? I don't know. It's like the back of my hand. I can just do it. And most people who've been dancing have been dancing since they were little. So it just comes naturally. Really? Yes.
Is that what happened? Did they do that with you with the Chargers? Do they make you do that? Yes. They said, we're going to show you something. And then you have to do it. Five minutes, you got to do it. A little bit longer than five minutes. How long do they give you? Oh, wow. How long is it? I'm going to say about 30, 35 minutes to learn it. And then after that, they give you about 15, 20. You get a break. You can practice. You can get water. You can freshen up. Make sure you look good. Yeah. That, to me, seems like the hardest thing I could imagine, man. I have to say, it takes a little skill. That's right. Well, what I was thinking of doing is having Eddie teach you a routine. You have about 30 minutes to be able to figure it out. Eddie's got some moves. That would just be ludicrous. We were just going to bust out Rhythm Nation. Excuse me. We were just about to bust out Rhythm Nation, and you were like, no, no, no. Because you're hopeful. You're jealous. I'm trying to stop you from humiliating yourself in here. We've got visitors. It happened off the air. Eddie goes, check this out, Chantel. Five, four, three. And she goes, no, no, stop, stop. Well, she's got the Janet Jackson hat on today, which I think is cool. She's very Rhythm Nation. It's going to help her out. What's going on, Chantel? Hat day. Why hat day? Hat day. Have a wedding Saturday. Get my hair done today. So this is bad hair day. I see. But I still look cute. How long will it take you to have the hair done?
About an hour and a half. Are you serious? Yeah, we have to wash it and send it in the dryer, make sure everything's dry. That's crazy. It's just the whole process. You girls go through a lot of stuff. We really do. Instead of reading books, Mike. Wow. Wow. Every single day. It's good, right? Hey, Eddie, maybe an idea is while they're under the dryer, they should read the newspaper. You know what I'm saying? Well, we do, Mike. We do read it. Women, we can multitask. Unlike men. Unlike men. Thank you. You're not reading the Inquirer and people? That's what you read. What do you mean? Whatever's laying around. Oh, so we have the sports page today because you're in it. Wow, that is true. Eddie is in the sports page today at the Union Tribune. Pick it up. All right, so this time it is going to be Team Awesome that gets to start. Last time it was... No, it's us. Oh, it's Team Sass that starts? Yes. Okay. Here is the first... And I lead it off. Here is the first question for Team Sass. It goes to Chantel. Wow. Oh, jeez. Chantel, what was Walter Payton's nickname? Are you serious? I am serious. What a great question. I am serious. Walter Payton's nickname. That's good. That is a great question. You were an NFL dancer. Stop it. She was a tournament.
It is a far out question, but it's an easy one. His nickname? His nickname. What'd they call... How come I couldn't have the buzz or something? Okay, let me think. What do they call Walter Payne? Is this a multiple choice? Yes. It is not a multiple choice. A, B, or C, or D. I'm hoping for... I'm just gonna... Yeah, I don't know. Take a guess. Honestly. Take a guess. It's humiliating. You're stopping! You should know this. Save her alone. Everybody should know this. I don't know this. Everyone should know this. Well, Bill Parcells just said he doesn't know any of this. Thank you. I don't know any of this. I really don't know. His nickname was Sweetness. Oh, I would have never guessed in a million years. That's right. Walter Payton's nickname was Sweetness. Sweetness? Don't worry. That was a stupid question. Who knew who came? Sweetness? Sweetness? That is correct. That's not a good name. Not manly. Oh, come on. Now, you're telling me that you wouldn't like to be known as sweetness, Chantel? Me, yes. Him, no. Yeah. So, girl, yes. Let's go over to Team Awesome. Where is he? Oh, me? All right. Boston Rob. Oh, no. What was the name of Lauren Graham's character on the Gilmore Girls? Wow. Why didn't we go to Sean on that? I know it. I know it. What was the name of Lauren Graham's character on the Gilmore Girls? Easy. I hate it.
Give me a second. Give me a second. Rob is squinting. You can't see him? No, I hate him. Oh, wait until you see him, Chantel. What? He shaved. For the first time in six years, he shaved off that giant goatee, and he looks like a respectable human being now. Whoa. No, he doesn't. He looks like Tom Selleck. He does. You see that picture? Tom Selleck is handsome. You see that picture of Tom Selleck on the wall? When he was younger, he was handsome. Floozy. That is incorrect. It was not Floozy. It was not Floozy. It was actually... Floozy Gilmore. No. It was Lorelai Gilmore. What? Yeah, that's right. Lauren Graham's character was Lorelai Gilmore. My girlfriend named her baby Lorelai. Isn't there a song? What is the Gilmore Girls? Who knows, dude? It's a TV show. Yeah, but what is it about? The CW. What are the Gilmore Girls all about? Are they sisters? It's a mother and a daughter, and they have some turmoil or something. I don't know. Mine sounds riveting. My mom had a great relationship. I don't watch that show. It's really riveting. Good. Oh, man. All right, we go back over to Team Sass, and Ashley is up. Get it, girl. Come on, lady. Get it. Ooh, she's stretching. Ashley. Good sign. Ashley, here comes your question. Ashley.
Fuel injection replaced what common part of modern vehicles? Oh, great question. Fuel injection replaced what common part on modern vehicles? Come on, ladies. This is the easiest question known to man. Opposite. On motor vehicles? Yes, Ashley. Can I repeat the question? Yes, yes, yes. Fuel injection replaced what common part on modern vehicles? And, yes, motor vehicles. Modern vehicles. Oh. Yes. See, I didn't... You didn't catch it the first time. It's all right. The gas tank. Oh. No, we need... That is incorrect. Although the girls and the guys have not answered a question correctly yet, so it's still 0-0. But the answer to the question is the carburetor replaced. Wow. The fuel injection replaced the carburetor. Or what the carburetor did. And now go over to Team Awesome. Whatever. Awesome! No, no, no. Shawnee O'Boy is up. Shawnee O'Boy. Bring home the bacon, buddy. We'll give it a shot. Shawnee, what is the name of the female judge on America's Best Dance Crew? What?
Come on. What is the name of the female judge on America's Best Dance Crew? Now, you know this, Chantel, right? Yes, of course. Of course she does. I know. You know this, Sean. Shawnee O'Boy has his hands up to his forehead. Where is this show on? We've talked about it. We've talked about it on this show. Is that the Jabbawocke thing? Yes. Oh, it's the Jabbawocke deal. Never seen one second of that show. Nor will I ever. Shawnee, the name of the female judge on America's Best Dance Crew. I really don't know. A TV show you didn't watch? No, no, I watched it. I watched about 10, 15 minutes of it. I don't know, so I'll say Sarah. That is incorrect. Little Mama. It's Little Mama. It's Lil Mama. It's her cool rhinestone ball caps. Her name is really Lil Mama. What are her qualifications? What makes her be a judge? That's what I was wondering when I watched the show. As was I. They clearly couldn't get anybody else. She's an artist and she dances okay. She dances I. Chantel's better. Team Sass. We go over to...
Skye. Uh-oh. Come on, Skye. Skye. You're hard ones today, though. Skye, you may have picked this up peripherally. Oh, no. Who's the current UFC lightweight champ? There you go. Current UFC lightweight champ. And just so you know, lightweights are 155 pounds. That makes it easier. Come on, Skye. So one above B-Rob. Hey. 100 pounds lighter than what I wrestle at. The only name that's coming to mind is Chuck Liddell, but I know that's not it, so that's not my answer. He's, like, I think a heavyweight or something. That was Sky testing the faces of the people around her. Exactly. Well, no, I know that's not it. No, that's not it. Don't give or tell. It's a hamstring snapped up. A what? A what? Shut up. It's a muscle, please.
I heard that hand is delicious. Sky, current UFC lightweight champ. I guess I'm going to have to say Chuck Liddell. It's the only name I can think of right now. It is not Chuck Liddell. Chuck's a middleweight, right, Eddie? Light heavyweight. Light heavyweight. The current UFC lightweight champ, BJ Penn. Duh. Never heard that name of him. Never heard of him. Only Ash had gotten that question. Never heard of him. Team Awesome. Whatever. Awesome. Whatever. Eddie? Damn. What is it? That's actually a name. Did you know that? Eddie's waving his hand in front of his face saying, you can't see me. All right, that's enough. Eddie? What up? What is the name of the all?
female singing group formed on making the band? Great question. He knows this like the back of his hand. Eddie's pretending to be thinking. He's got his fist up to his forehead. He's got his eyes closed. What is this? Let me answer this. I've got it. I've got the back of my palm to my forehead. I'm thinking about it, and the answer is... You are so full of it right now. Yeah, you are. Eddie doesn't know. He knows. You know this. I know I've read it. I've never watched the show. I will be flabbergasted. I've never watched the show, and I know. Come on. Eddie is thinking. You know this. He's actually turning red. I have never seen this. I don't. Wow. Focus. Take your time. I'm sending it to you right now, Eddie. Yeah. That's not okay. Hang on. It's a Mikey show at 7.50. After just eight months of marriage, Gary Coleman and his new bride will appear on the TV show Divorce Corps to try and save their marriage. Well, the Padres, they just don't like to score runs. They lost to the Giants yesterday one to nothing. Chantel was just asking about the song that we play at the end of the show on Fridays. She said, what is that? Who sings that song? Tunnel. And I told her it's third day. And I was just starting to tell her how. every song on that album, the album is called, wherever you are here, and it's on iTunes, but I was telling you, every song on there will give you goosebumps. Really? I really, thanks. Yeah, it's all, I know the bass player, Ty, and he said that when they did that album, they wanted every single song to be like hope, and just like if you're down, like every single song is just like to lift you up. I like it. Yes, you dig it. Welcome back.
It's a Mikey show. And we are in the middle of a little something we like to call the battle of sexes. Yes. Please. Now we ended there with Team Awesome. Awesome. It's 0-0. Stop it. Neither the guys nor the girls have answered a question yet. So let's go over to the girls and we go back to Chantel. I'm ready. Chantel. Stop it. I don't know any of this. I'm scared this week. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. Yeah, that's right. Chantel, I'm feeling good about this question for you. Oh, my girl. Chantel? It scares me that you're feeling good about this question. Chantel? Yes? What NBA team does Lamar Odom play for? Oh, wow. That is a good question. What NBA team does Lamar Odom play for? Stop it. Eddie, what are you doing with Chantel? What are you doing over there? What are you doing? Are you trying to help her out? Intimidate her a little bit. Oh, you're intimidating? Come on, Eddie. Come on. Chantel is thinking. I don't know any of this. Stop it. I know it'll help. Eddie's holding on to his rhythmation hat while he's dancing. What do I think of where he plays? Stop it. Eddie, what are you doing? What is Eddie's turn? He's messing with me. Can you visualize the color of the jersey, maybe? Work it out. Work it out. You know this. I don't know, Eddie. Bill Parcells said that she doesn't know any of this. I don't know any of this. I don't know why I want to say this team, but I don't think.
Just say what. This is going to be over real quick. What's in your gut? What's in your gut? Go with it. I want to say Cavaliers. I don't know why I want to say. Stop looking at me like that. Eddie is. Okay, but it's not them. He's just staring her down. I'm going to say Spurs. But I know it's not. Spurs. That is incorrect. Well, it's the L.A. Lakers. It's the Lakers. Shut up. Lamar Odom plays for the L.A. Lakers. Oh, how about that? Not the Cavaliers. Oh, wow. Look at it. Chantel just got a look that went, oops. Dang. I'm even hurting to sign off of that one. Thank you. Let's go to Team Awesome. Okay. Gotta start watching. Awesome. Boston Rob. I'm ready. Get on the board. Gilmore Girls question. Boston Rob, FX is the American abbreviation for what gymnastics event? I said FX is the American abbreviation for what gymnastics event? It's a channel. Gymnastics. That's right. What the heck is gymnastics?
Take your time. Sky, do you know this? Sky, do you know this? I have a thought, but I don't know it for sure. I don't know any of this. Boston Rob. FX is the American abbreviation for what gymnastics is? Floor cross country or floor expertise. So weird. Fighting. You're getting closer. I believe it's ultimate fighting challenge. The floor aerobics. That is incorrect. FX stands for floor exercise. That's what I meant. I knew that's what he was going for. That's what he meant. We now go over to Team Sass. Let's go, Ash. Up next is Ashley. Come on, girl. Get us on the board. Please. Ashley, in the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, what was Indiana Jones Asian sidekick's name? Oh, man. In the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, what was Indiana Jones Asian sidekick's name? Oh, Ashley is thinking about it. She's never seen the movie. She's got her bangs in front of her eyes. She is looking to the ceiling.
Just pass. I think the answer. Oh, she went cross-eyed. That's not a good sign. She went cross-eyed. That's not helping. That is not helping. She was using that as her way to help. I'll help you out, Ashley. Okay, mommy. Don't you, mom? I don't. That's my answer. The actual actor's name, but I need the character's name. No, it was not tattoo. It was not tattoo. That was close. I don't know. It was not tattoo. His Asian sidekick's name was? No, that was not it. It was Short Round. They called him Short Round. Like Rob. You should call Rob Short Round. Oh, wow. Boston Rob was up last. That means Shawnee, oh boy. Come on, Shawn. He's up now. TV, TV, TV. It better not be TV. It is not TV. Oh, no.
Shawnee, oh boy. Come on. Name just one of J-Lo's fragrances. Just one. Stinky. Nice. Fat. How about sweaty? Butt stank is that right? Name one of her fragrances. Latina. Horchata. Yeah, horchata. That's my favorite one. Chili verde. Okay. I'm Jennifer Lopez. This is my new fragrance, chili verde. I would wear that. It's delicious. Just a dab of chili verde will turn you into a hot tortilla. Hot tamale. A real hot tamale. Oh, man. Buy it today. Thank me to Molly. I'm Jennifer Lopez. My new fragrance, I'm Jennifer Lopez. It's available right now at Costco. Come on, Sean. Just one of JLo's fragrances. I honestly don't know. I'll say seduction. No, Shani. Sounded good. Here are her four fragrances.
She has a glow. That's the only one I know. Glow is one. Yeah. The other one is leave. What? Leave? Leave. Leave. Another one is called still. Still what? Still. Still stinky. How about sex banter? Well said. And her last one. He's an astral. He's got real bits of pants. I've heard that. I read that. And her last one is called Decio. Oh. Okay. That was close. Decio Ness. Whatever. Sorry about that, Shawnee. Oh, boy. That's all right. The guys and Team Awesome have not answered one yet. Neither has Team Sass. This is the worst game ever. Last question goes to Sky. Yeah. Sky, you have to get this. I'll try my best, girl. No pressure. Stop it, you guys. Sky, what car company uses the slogan Zoom Zoom? Yes, you know this, Sky. Sky's got it in there. She fast forwards all her commercials. She watches TiVo everything. She fast forwards to the commercials.
Yeah, that's what I keep going over. Zoom, zoom, zoom. Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom. Be quiet, Ashley. Ash, or excuse me, Sky, what car company uses the slogan zoom, zoom? Five seconds. Shut up. Yeah, floor exercise aerobics. Oh, gosh. Okay. Look at Chantel standing up. I can't. She's rubbing the bill of her Rhythm Nation hat. I'm torn between two car companies. Work it out. I'm torn between Mazda and Nissan. Work it out, Sky. You got this. You're going to be in so much trouble. Stop it. Eddie, that's not a good look for you. Eddie's trying to distract her. Okay, I'm leaning towards one, but I feel a lot of pressure on me. You got it. I believe it's Mazda.
You are correct. You are correct, Scott. That means that Team Sass takes the lead one to nothing. And we go to Eddie. It's all on you, bro. Eddie, if you get this question right, we go to elimination. If you get this question wrong, Team Sass wins this week. Eddie, your question is... You got it, bro. You okay? Yeah. Eddie? Eddie, who is the oldest of the Kardashian sisters? Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Eddie is shaking it. There's like 70 of them. Eddie is sitting back. He is thinking he's kind of shaking his head. He's like, I don't know. Oh, look at that. Chantel is distracting. Have you ever seen the reality show? Have you? Yes. Oh, dang it. It could be in there. Yeah, it could be. It could be in there. Oh, no. I only know Kim. Oh, wow. I don't know what the other girls' names are. I think it's Brooke. Hmm, close. I think there's one. Don't help him. I mean, just not helping you. Chantel. Chantel just eliminated one.
Chantel just eliminated one. I do care about you a lot. Oh, my. If he gets it right. Wow. I really don't know. Oh. It could be Kim, I guess. Right? Eddie, is that your final answer? I'll say Kim. That is incorrect. Isn't it Chloe? She was just pumping her fist right down. The oldest Kardashian sister is Kourtney Kardashian. Eddie? Kourtney. Kourtney. Never heard of her. They all have two names. You remember that? What's a P1? P1 is someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to The Mikey Show exclusively. That is correct. Of the P1 Army. The Mikey Show.

No towing. No rental. No nothing. Right. And called them. They hooked me up with full coverage. Saved $650 for the year. Three DUIs. Totally saved me money. Dope. I saved $1,600. and renewed my coverage. Yeah. And it was almost $1,100 for six months. Well done. And called AIS the next day. It wasn't even 24 hours after I renewed it, and it was $1,400 for the year instead of almost $1,100 for six months. That's great. Travaho, congratulations, and thank you for calling. I appreciate it, Mikey. All right, man. 1-800-777-4AIS. Still plenty of brake lines to deal with out here this morning. And the main story here on the coaster, unfortunately, struck and killed a pedestrian here through Rose Canyon near Regent's Road. And that's got the coaster stopped on the tracks. That is affecting, of course, coaster traffic coming out of the North County into San Diego. It's also affecting a couple of northbound trains. Santa Fe trying to get into L.A. So that's causing some major delays here this morning. So keep that in mind if you plan on using those this morning. All right, now the traffic on the South Bay ride 5805 northbound is starting to ease up a little bit. The 805 is still backing up quite heavily from Home Avenue into North Park. And then out of Kearney Mesa heading up over the 52. West 94, a few break nights still from 32nd Street into downtown. Your West 8 ride still seeing heavy traffic from Waring Road in past the Q to Mission Center Road. South 15 looking pretty good. Just a brief delay through Carmel Mountain Ranch. The coaster ride South 5, though, stays quite tough out of La Costa.
crawling all the way to Solana Beach. Derek Lawrence on Rock 105.3. You know, it's not the stuff that's good for you. It's just the... I love it. It tastes so good. Get in San Diego. Now something you might have missed. This guy has a list of the states with the most and least drunk drivers. Oh. I know the least. Wherever Rob lives. I will guess the least. I know where geographically it'll be. It'll be up... It'll be north. It'll be one of those Montana, North Dakota... Utah is the number one with the least amount of drunk drivers. California the most. Oh, Wisconsin. Wisconsin is number one with the most. Here's the breweries. They're all drunk there. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. They all go to the Green Bay games. Their baseball team is named the Brewers. They should be the Deweys. Now back to the Mikey Show. Rock 105.3.
back. It is 8-11. In an effort to boost the economy, the tax rebate checks will be coming early. They'll start arriving on Monday. Well, Larry Brown resigned as the Philadelphia 76ers executive vice president could return to coaching. Our text number is 35253. And don't forget that you can see our producer, our sports guy, Eddie, in the Union Tribune this morning in the sports page. He's going to be broadcasting From Rockin' Baja Lobster downtown this weekend for the NFL Draft. And so if you want to watch the draft, go down and check him out there. Get something to eat. Meet Eddie. Eddie, who's going to be with you there? We're going to have former Chargers Lou Bush and Roman Oban with me. Star studded. Sky just got very excited. She's a big fan of Lou Bush. So there you go. Right now on our inside line. You may have heard of him. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Marcus Allen is on the line. Wow. You guys, I was just about to go. I sat through. That was 10 commercial commercials. It was 14, Marcus. Okay, well, 14 was five pounds off and he was behind. Okay, I got you. Exactly. Marcus Allen on the line. Marcus, how are you, man?
I'm doing great, guys. My foursomes look at me like I'm crazy. They're ready to take a picture, but I told them I had to do an interview with K-Rock, so they were... Oh, good, good. Go right ahead. No, no, no, no. It's not K-Rock. Where is it? It's the Mikey Show at Rock 105.3 in San Diego. Oh, see? Golly, that's my policy. It's all right. No, no. It's okay. I'll put this early normally, guys. Hey, listen, and we didn't mean to keep you waiting on the line there. That's okay, guys. No problem. Hey, listen. We're doing good, man. We're doing good. And you're in town. The reason you're in town is you're doing the San Diego Celebrity Classic, and it's hosted by Stan Humphreys. Yes. Yes, it is. I've been doing it for, I don't know, the last eight years or so. I'm not even sure. It's the 10th anniversary. Is it? No, no. I mean, for me, though, personally. I don't know if I, maybe the last eight years, but it's a great event. Wonderful cause, great camaraderie, great people come out to support. the event. So it's a lot of fun for us. Marcus, are you a good golfer? I'm a good golfer, yes. I should be a better golfer, but I'm a good golfer, yes. How often do you get to go out and do it? I play a couple times a week. Wow. Yes. I'm very, very fortunate. What does it mean when they say, what's your handicap? I don't even know what that means. Well, I think most people lie about their handicaps. We normally meet a lot of people and they come out and they say they're two and three and then they watch your swing.
We go, oh, my God, you're not that at all. And I say I'm an eight, you know, and I can beat them by ten shots, you know what I mean? Right, right. Most people aren't truthful about their handicaps. Marcus, who do they have you teamed with out there? Well, I don't know who the celebrity pairings are on the weekend, but I went to Taylor Ray yesterday, and I just met my fours from today. I haven't really found out much about them, what they do, but they're not that. There you go. Are you excited? Do you get excited? Because you've been doing this eight years, you said. I think it's eight years. Do you always see the same guys out there, or every year is there new celebrities that they're bringing in there? You see most of the same guys, which is always good, but they also bring a few new guys out. It depends on people's schedules. Everybody wants to make the event. A lot of guys are working or business things like that, so it's always hard for every year.
In their hearts, they want to be here. Hey, Marcus, are there guys that you basically get to reconnect with out at this event and you look forward to it? Because you usually only see them and talk to them at this event and you kind of look forward to it? Actually, there's a few. It's always nice seeing them, of course, coming home to San Diego because my parents live here. I was born and raised here. I know a lot of people here. So, you know, that's always exciting. So talk to me about, because we were just talking about this, about how the NFL draft is tomorrow. And so talk to me about what you remember about draft day for yourself. Good shot. Good shot, Martin. That's awesome. I got to be emotionally available to my group. That is true. You're a good partner, Marcus. That's right. You know, what I remember, I think it was the first year they had it actually on ESPN. And I remember one thing in particular, and he's become a really good friend of mine, but Paul McGuire.
kept saying, I don't know why the Raiders are drafting this guy. First of all, he said I wasn't fast enough, but they were going to move me to wide receiver. And I bet that didn't make any sense at all, because most fast guys play wide receivers. And I think there was a Houston Oilers calling me and asking me, how am I doing? Would you like to block for Earl Campbell? And I said, well, hopefully we can block for each other. He called me and asked me, how much did I weigh? And I told him, and they hung up. Next thing I know, I got drafted. That is so bizarre. Yeah. Where were you? Were you at home at the time, or were you in New York City? No, I was in Los Angeles. I actually had a friend of mine's house. Young ladies would know this. ABS Clothing, Alan Schwartz, good friend of his house at the time. And Jim Hill was there in the whole event. But I think it was the first year, again, that it was on ESPN. So it's a lot different today than it was then. But I'm sure they had the event.
We're talking to Marcus Allen, who, as you know, had an incredible career with both the Raiders and the Chiefs. He's going to be at the San Diego Celebrity Classic hosted by Stan Humphreys today. When you went to play for the Raiders, I know that legend says that Al Davis held you back there before you went to Kansas City. Is that all fabricated? Is that made up by the media? Or is there any truth to it? You know, I hate to perpetuate the negative. I'm going to just leave that one long. I ended up in Hall of Fame. So regardless of what transpired there, I ended up in Canton. So it really didn't matter. So I wrote on that. No sense of perpetuating the negative issue. He's a gentleman. Yeah, you're a gentleman. Marcus, have you written a book? Yeah, guys. And I'd love to discuss with you. Call back. Call back. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Call back. My foursome was looking at me with a dirty bus. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the officials here.
And the foursome that's behind me, Shane Raleigh, he's getting kind of teed off, too. I didn't want to use the word pissed. Listen, Marcus. Teed off, no pun intended. Marcus, it's a pleasure talking to you, and maybe one day we'll have you back on, and we'll talk a little bit more in depth. All right. Well, you have to talk to my agent, Whitney. I'm only kidding. She's standing right here. All right, guys. You guys take care. Good morning, too, okay? Take care. That's Marcus Allen. It's a very distracted Marcus Allen. Wow. That was strange. You'd think they would have called before they started. Yeah, that would have made sense. Waiting until you're on the course is a little interesting. Well, listen, maybe we have him back on at some point and we get to talk to him when he's not a little bit distracted. I mean, he's in the middle of a round. Right? You can't tee off with a cell phone on your shoulder. Do you think that it would have been distracting if I had moved to, my plan was to go to the OJ questions next. I wonder if it would have been distracting for him to go to the OJ questions. Do you still talk to OJ? I know that during that period of time while he was incarcerated, you guys were friends. Did he date Nicole? I think he did. I think he did date Nicole.
Talk to us about that, Marcus. Yeah. Marcus, if you could just spend a little time telling us what were those intimate conversations like with OJ during that period? You know, what sorts of things, you know, what sort of support did you give one another while that was going on? Listen, I would love to read his book. Every question I'm asking, by the way, I'm sure is in his book. Yeah. You know, you would think it would have to be in it. Oh, the L. Davis stuff, I mean, it's not legend. No, I know, I know. The reason that I asked it that way, I know that it isn't. The reason that I asked it that way is because I wanted to put him in a position mentally where he's defending and going, no, it's not a lot to try to get him to talk about it. Because if you go, you can't really say to somebody, Marcus, talk to us about you and Al Davis and how you didn't get along. You're not going to get a lot of like, well, let me tell you what was. So the question, I phrased it that way so that he could give me. I understand. It's just. It's crazy. Al Davis was a nutcase. He had one of the greatest running backs. He was. He's not alive anymore. You don't consider him alive, right? Look at him. We are going to be talking to Kenny Main. Oh my gosh. Actually, you know Kenny Main for a variety of reasons. You know him from his ESPN.
being on ESPN. You know him from doing some very funny skits before the games start on NFL Sunday. And you also know him from being on the television show Dancing with the Stars. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Kenny Main is on the line with... Kenny, how are you? I'm well. We just gave you some golf claps there. I hope you enjoyed that. Appreciate it. More than I got last night. I did a reading and... About 11 people showed up. But they were intense, all 11 of them. Did you really? So, wait a minute, you did a reading. Did you write a book or were you doing somebody's poem? No, I wrote a book. And the book, tell everybody about the book, Kenny. It is called An Incomplete and Inaccurate History of Sport.
That's awesome. That's compelling. That is awesome. Awesome. And Kenny, you can get this, and it's available everywhere right now. Is it on Amazon? Yeah, on all that normal real bookstores. Real bookstores. We have a website also called KennyMainHasWrittenTheBook.com. I like it. Kenny, do more people recognize you for ESPN or Dancing with the Stars? I guess it depends on their background. I mean, like, it's kind of split. If it's a grandma that's dancing and a young college guy, it's going to be ESPN. But, you know, a little of both. And when you are doing, I love the pieces, the main event. On Sunday mornings for the games on NFL Sunday Countdown, your pieces are fantastic. Do you write all of that stuff, or do you get a little bit of help? Only the good ones. I see. The ones that don't work out, other people we're involved in. I've had good producers around me the whole time. I mean, you know, we don't worry about breaking it down by percentage, but I probably do write most of it. You know, I took every word, count it over time. I have great guys who've been with me to, you know, find a way to cut out the worst stuff I write or add something better or, you know, just...
to edit work and make sure that things pull off. We were lucky this year we got to work with some of the ex-Sopranos, which was, I think ESPN ran about 40,000 times, so they must have cut a deal with Journey to be able to play that song. For those of you that have never seen the main event, it's a segment on NFL Sunday Countdown before the games start on Sundays during the football season, and Kenny will tackle. A tough subject. That's right. He'll get in there and really expose something or give you a real personal look at a particular player about something that maybe you didn't know about the player. And, Kenny, is there one that comes to mind? It's like 60 minutes. It's like 60 minutes. Oh. It's like 60 minutes. So, Kenny, is there one of those that sticks out more to you that you really, really enjoyed? Well, I'd go for the more esoteric. My favorite one, or one of my favorite ones of all time, I guess we'll call it a dead heat. We went to Philadelphia years ago, and for really no apparent reason, I thought it would be funny if we pretended that Donovan McNabb likes to make pudding after practice. Nice. They have a huge kitchen facility right off the practice field. And we talked to, he doesn't know why he's done it, but we talked to him and Hugh Douglas. And then Brian Westbrook, who turned out to be pretty good, was a rookie at the time. And we pretended that he had to stir the pudding like it was a rookie hazing.
Kenny, have you ever come up with one of these ideas, presented it to a player, and the player went, I don't know, man? Yeah, well, the one where we got turned down about ten times, we had to call all over the world to get a guy to agree to... You know how every time there's a Super Bowl, there's always the story about the best player who has never won. You know, people talk about Marino and... Right, right. We wanted to do a story of worst player ever to have won a Super Bowl. Wow. Half of those guys lined up, and they all just, you know, the ring means too much. But we found a guy up in Seattle, Brett Carroll, a good guy, played for the 49ers, and he went along with the joke. He went along with it. Wow. I mean, I can only imagine what the pitch must have been like when you say to these guys, and by the way, the piece is going to, it's a joke, but the piece is the worst player to ever win a Super Bowl. It came crashing down, because usually, not usually, universally, except for that story, the joke is on me or it's just laughing at the absurdity of something. And by the way, on the pudding story, Bill Cosby of Jell-O pudding fame was in town, and we drove and found him and got him in the story as well. But equal to that, we've been able to go to Seattle, and Mike Holmgren gives away the story of the Air Force. He's the most liberal of all the coaches as far as what we can do.
We bring this Korean guy named Kim Il-Zong, we call him. We wanted to call him Kim Il-Bong. And he's a fake player. We pretend he's on the team and he was signed for a billion dollars. And Holmgren loves him on the field. He smokes cigarettes on the field. You've got to be kidding me. What is it? Kenny Mane fake player or Kenny Mane Kim Il-Zong and you'll find it. There you go. Kenny Mayne is on the line with us. And I was thinking about this, Kenny. I know that you enjoyed your experience on Dancing with the Stars. What would you think of combining the two worlds and do Dance Center? He does do that. You'll have Sports Center, you'll have Dance Center. Which do you like best? Well, another Dance Center, in fact, is airing April 29th, coming up here. I shot that with Jerry Rice the other day. Honestly, the live element of Sports Center trumps. you know, whatever we get to do on Dance Center because that's tape because everything done live is always better. Like if you guys have, who knows, maybe we're taping this right now and I'm too dumb to realize I'm not on the air. No, we're live on the air. Believe it or not, we're just not that professional. Yeah, it's true. Whether true or untrue, isn't it, you got it in your head that it's taped and you know, you know, your energy isn't the same. Your adrenaline is not the same. So that's why it's so much fun. You know, although the downer of it is your up tilt.
3.35 in the morning getting home and scraping ice off your windows in the winter. How do you think Jason Taylor's doing? He's enjoying it. He appears just to have quit football and moved to a dance. He's good. He's a good looking guy and he really has one motion he uses every time. That's something we talked about on our little dance center thing. Kenny, let me ask you. What is your favorite type of music? I'm a big Stevie Wonder fan. Yeah. I like Pearl Jam. Oh, yeah. I was on a college campus doing a story a couple years back, and we had just gone to their concert, and we were going, me and my friend, and just came up in conversation, and these college kids all looked at us like, like, how lame are you? You know, like, how dated is that? I don't believe that to be the case. In fact, we're on tour right now. So, you know what? It doesn't matter what other people think of your music anyway. You just stick with what you know and what you like. Hey, the other thing that people were texting us, and we said that we were going to be talking to you this morning, so people are texting and sending emails, and everybody loves the ESPN SportsCenter commercials. I've downloaded a ton of them on iTunes. Do you have a favorite one? Well, that I was in, there's a couple that I like a lot. There was one where Stuart Scott and I were supposed to be giving back to the...
community and playing basketball with little kids and being big buddies. They had t-shirts made and ended up just turning into jerks and like stealing the ball from the kids and screaming at them. The other one was Dikembe Mutombo and I just looking up at the sky and talking about the cloud formation. Yes. Yes. That is fantastic. You know, a lot of... I think he has a real deep, raspy voice. Right. But George Washington... Kenny Main is on the line. A lot of people don't realize this. Kenny Main... Did I pull the book? Yes. I have a book. That's right, that he's got a book that is available right now on Amazon.com and anywhere else that they sell books. And tell us the name of the book again, Kenny. It is An Incomplete and Inaccurate History of Sport. And more information is found via...
Kenny Main has written a book.com. But you were going to say something else. Like, what were you going to say? It's interesting. It is fascinating that something. I cut you off. Kenny Main is actually a pretty good athlete. A lot of people may not realize this. Kenny backed up Randall Cunningham at quarterback at UNLV, right? Wow. The book will correct the record that Randall backed me up. Wow. Yeah. No, really. He was a freshman. He'll tell you that himself. He was a freshman. I was a senior, so that's the only reason. But Sam King was the starter. Then me. Then a guy named Alan Reynolds. And then Randall Cunningham was fostering and was just kind of learning what's going on. But you could tell he was going to be great. It wasn't like any of us really thought we were truly better than him. It's just that, you know, it's just jumping into college. Most freshmen don't. You know, usually when a freshman plays, partly it's because he has a lot of talent, partly because they have nobody else. But Sam was a pretty good quarterback. Kenny Mayne. Thank you for spending the time with us. We enjoy talking to you. And Kenny, yes, great having you. And hopefully we'll get to talk to you again. We appreciate you taking the time, Kenny. All right, be well. All right, man. We'll see you. It's Kenny Main. He is a very, very, very funny guy. Nice. Ladies and gentlemen, we got some good stuff for you. Coming up, when we come back, Wesley Snipes got sentenced yesterday. Wait till I tell you how long he will be going.
To prison. What? To prison. Blade? Wait till I tell you how long. We'll do that when we come back. Great show, everybody. Great show. Mikey Show featuring Mikey. I like all types of foods. I have no food allergies. Eddie. Kevin Federline is my hero. Sky. Hosts are important to me. Sean. I can eat old Sebastian Rob. Tell me something about you, Rob. The scariest movie. Ever made to me is The Exorcist. And Ashley. Inappropriately in dresses. On Rock 105.3. What's up? Welcome back. It is 838. Well, it's final. North County will be changing their area code from 760 to 442. NBA playoffs last night. Houston, Toronto, and Washington all won to avoid going down 0-3 in their series. Our text number is 35253. That's right. P1 Buckley is hanging out in the studio. So is Christina.
And our phone number is 570-1053. Okay, so Sky, explain this 760 thing. How is this going to work? I'm so excited. What is going on? How dare you? Daddy is really upsetting, Sky. They're going to change your area code next. They already did. We dealt with it. Did they actually change it or did they just add another one? Well, they added it. Thank you. Some of us were 619 at the time and we had to go to 858. Thank you. Oh, okay. So it happens. So those of us that are 760, I live in North County. Sky lives in North County. So we're going to have to actually change our numbers. Well, we're going to have to give it out differently. Yes. And if we call home, we got to change it. Yes, so if you live in San Diego County and your area code is 760, starting in six months, you will be able to use the 442 as your area code, but 760 will still be active. They're kind of giving like a grace period for everybody to get used to it. So how long will it be a grace period? Well, in six months, that starts. So in August. Both area codes are active starting in six months. Wait, wait, wait. No, I have it wrong, Jim. April.
May, June, July, August, September, October. Okay. So in October. And then there will be six months of that grace period where you can use both area codes. So basically a year from now, it will only be 442. And that goes for every 760 number, whether it's your home phone or your cell phone or whatever. That's such a weak area code. It does sound kind of wimpy. It does. I don't know what that means. 760 is powerful. Yes. It's very masculine. And I don't know my phone numbers if I don't say 760. Like, I can't tell you. You know, it's kind of like when you need somebody to give you the first lyrics of a song. Stop being dramatic. I don't. I can't tell you. Like, when I order pizza, even though I'm ordering it. from the place down the street and they go, I'm a drama queen. I'm a drama mama. Shut up. I'm going to go check myself into the ER right now. It's the truth. I don't know my phone number unless I say 760. Well, if we're being honest, she has to sing it. She goes, it's a 7, and a 1, and a 2, and a 1, 2, and a 7, 6, 0, 4, 4, 5, 18, 11, 0, 8, it's 7, 6, 0, and a 4, 4, 5. Wow.
So they say this new 442 area code should last for the next 22 years. Oh, man. 22 years? Then what are you going to do? What is that? Then they're going to run out of numbers. Like the 619 area code is going to run out of numbers in 2013. The 858 is going to run out of numbers in about 2026. I don't get that at all. Thank God I already have my number. Ashley. hurting. 619. What is up? They just gave an air high five to Eddie and Ashley. 619 in the house. Are you 619 or 858? 619. I'm 760. Yeah, 619. 619 is where it's at. Eddie's 619. Whatever. Eddie, don't you have a different cell and a different home? Yeah, my cell is 858 for some reason, but mine is what matters. Mine's 858. Sky is... Everything is 760. You know what, Sky? It's okay. Take a deep breath. I agree with Rob. I think 442 is feminine. It is. No, it seriously is. I think 442 sounds very feminine. You should just be bent over because it's a girl number.
I don't know, Eddie. I don't know. Just write at 842. 842 AM. That's your boy. I don't know any of this. I think that, like, okay, give me an area code that starts with a number. I'll tell you if it's masculine or feminine. 214. 555. 214 is very feminine. Really? Very feminine. What about 808? Why? 808 is very masculine. That's correct. 212. Very feminine. 925. That's New York. Very masculine. 925 in the Bay Area is the most... It's so ghetto, man. It's like 925. It's true. I agree. 310. That could go either way. That's a tough one. Yeah, it's kind of bi. It's kind of metro. It's kind of metro. 617, Mike. As masculine as they come. So stupid. 617 is masculine. Yep, I know. I don't know why. 4-0-8. 7-1-8? 7-8-1. 4-0-8 is feminine. No, it is. It is feminine. Sorry, Sean. It's very girly. Okay, 4-1-5. That's even more feminine. That seems really girly. Yeah, 4-1-5 is super girly. San Francisco. Mikey, oh. So there it is. 7-6-0. All you people, you got to change it pretty soon. Jeez.
So, Wesley Snipes. Oh, man. Skye, what happened? What did he get convicted? For basically not filing his tax returns. Oh. Yeah, so he got sentenced to the maximum penalty allowed by the law yesterday. Come on. Which is one year in prison for each year he failed to file a tax return. How many years did he fail to file? Three years. Oh. Three years in prison for Wesley Snipes. Even letters to the judge by Denzel Washington and Woody Harrelson could not save him. That's crazy. What are they trying to do? Like make an example out of him or something? Well, I don't know. I mean, it's the maximum penalty allowed for the law. So, I mean, that's the law. Oh, hell. Whoa. Yeah. That is crazy. Set him free. You know what's a trip is I saw a bunch of pictures of him online after the verdict and it seriously it looked like he just won. That's what trips me out about it is that maybe he's going into this mode of just like I will overcome because he had this look about him like one of them in one of the pictures he's got his hands up like victory and I'm like maybe they didn't tell him the right maybe he doesn't realize what's going on.
Day Walker. That's right. P1 Alien Tooth is on the line. Hi, Alien Tooth. What's up, guys? How are you guys doing? Pretty good, man. How are you? I got a question. What should my friend do about his huge 760 tattoo on his back? 760 tattoo covering his back. Move to Palm Springs. Tell him to move to Palm Springs. It says 760 and then underneath it says North County. He's been in Oceanside for about... Probably 15 years. You know, he's just one of those guys that's super into North County and Oceanside. Really? I don't know what he's going to do. Wow. Thanks for the call, man. That is the worst. P1 Smith is on the line. Hey. What's up, Smith? Hey, I'm in Del Mar right now. About to go surfing, and everybody got kicked out of the water for a shark attack. Attack? Are you sure it was a shark? Yeah, he shut up. Like an actual attack or a sighting? Yeah, a sighting? No.
Apparently, it's kind of a serious deal because I heard it was a fatality. Can't stop it. What? Yeah, how do we know you're telling the truth? Yeah. I swear, everybody's surrounded in the Lifeguard Tower in Del Mar right now, and everybody's kind of freaking out. Zeth is, uh, Zeth's got something. Zeth, go ahead. Yeah, I think he's telling the truth because we just got a text message saying the same thing. It said, unknown animal in the water, but there's, like, blood everywhere. Unknown, dude. No! You know what it is. Eddie. You know what it is. Sit down, Eddie. When they say it's unknown. Get out of Mike's face. Hey. When they say it's unknown. Hey, sit down. They don't want you to sit down because you know what it is. Eddie, sit down. Is this another seat world conspiracy, Eddie? Thank you. Thank you. Unknown. Really? Okay. Okay. So wait. Let me ask. You're at a 12. Take it to an 8. Okay? Calm down. Let me ask. Where were you? Where are you? Del Mar. No, no, no. But I mean, whereabouts are you? About 25th Street. And then I drove down to the main lifeguard tower on 17th Street. Do you know where it happened? They told me it was in Solana Beach. Just right up the road. Surfers out there, be careful. Unknown. Oh, my. Good thing they have their radios on. I hope it is not a fatality. That's crazy. It is. Sign on. San Diego says.
Send me a link. Send me a link. Send me a link. Send me a link. There's just a breaking news banner at the top. It says man reported killed by shark off Fletcher Cove at Solana Beach. What? Wow. No way. NBC739.com. It's just a banner on the top of signonsandiego.com. It's not the story. All they say is what Zeth exactly told you. No way. There's no more information besides what Zeth just told you. That's so freaky. Dude. Dude. He's probably a surfer, right? Yeah, you think. Has anybody seen that movie, Jaws? Man reported killed by shark off Fletcher Cove. That is horrendous. Oh, it's terrible. That's awful, man. That is terrible. That's so scary. Wicked. So you know that shark's going to be, like, hanging around now. Yeah. They've got to catch him and kill him. Yeah. We should get a boat. And we're going to need a bigger boat. We're going to get a boat, and then we'll need a bigger one. Alright, let's take a quick time out. When we come back, why don't we do a little movie as word association game? The Mikey Show. It's all gay. All the way. The Mikey Show is on. Thank you! Hey, Rental Wheel is now under new ownership and has great news for you. Well, the Miami Dolphins must not have liked his rumba because Jason Taylor is now on the trading block. Welcome back. Our sports guy, our producer, is in the newspaper this morning on the sports page. Are you doing a story on me about Renegade, Mike? No, Eddie, they did not. It is not about that. It is not about that. It is not about that. You know, it's funny. It's funny, Mike, because Lorenzo Lama is my co-star of Renegade. He was not a co-star. Ah. He was on The Bachelor this past Monday, and it was really good to see Lowe again. Wait a minute. Nobody calls him Lowe. Nobody calls him Lowe. It's really good to see him again. Eddie was in the background of an episode of Renegade. No, no, no, no. Co-star. Co-star. You get those two screwed up. Why don't we give this a try? Oh, no. Oh, wow. A little something called the Movie Word Association. Oh, my gosh. Come on. Call it. Word Association.
game. Scene one, take 105. And action. 570-1053. Eddie's limbering up. This is a tough game. It is a tough game. I just got killed. This is the way you did not. I did. Okay, maybe she did. Look. 570-1053. I'm scared. I don't know. I'm freaking out. Well, she gets real excited when she plays the movie. But she's terrible at it. She is. I'm not that bad, actually. I came in fourth last week, if I remember correctly. The movie word association game. Yeah, we were playing. This is the way that a game works. You know, Zeth will not play. So he's going to give us a word. And we got to go around the room. And we have to think of a movie with that word in the title. One time it was November and Ashley suggested the film November Rain. And I got an email that said that was actually a movie. Oh, come on. It was not a movie. You're ridiculous. All right. Now, here's what you do. You call us and we only get five seconds to come up with a movie. 5701053. You only get five seconds to come up with a movie. If you can't come up with the title of a movie within five seconds, you're out. And it's an elimination game. So here are the players. Myself, Eddie, Sky.
Sean, Ashley, Boston, Rob. Call us right now at 570-1053 and choose one of us to represent you. Who do you think will be the last man standing? Call us right now, 570-1053. And pick the person that you think will do well. Eddie is very good at films. Sean is very good at films. I'm pretty good at films. Sky's seen a lot of movies. Ashley and Rob, I don't know. Rob should be better at this. I'm surprised he doesn't do as well. I think it's the pressure. Yeah, it's scary. That's what gets me. I'm terrible. Yeah, Sean, what the heck? I'm really bad. Let's go to the phones and see who everybody's picking. P1 Naked, are you there? Yes, sir. Who are you taking? I'm taking Eddie. That's a pretty good choice. Hang on the line. Next up, P1 Karina, who do you want? I want... You got it. Hang on the line. P1 Holly, who do you want? I'll take Ashley. Okay, hang on. And then P1 Jason. Who are you taking? Hey, I'm taking B, Rob. You got it. Hang on the line. Next up is P1 Giants fan. Giants fan, you got me. I got you, Mikey. All right, hang on. All right. And finally, P1 Diggler. Are you there? P1 Diggler? Yeah. You want Shawnee? Yes, I do. Hang on the line. Okay. So.
We do not know what these words are. We go in the way that the room is basically shaped, so we go around in a big circle. It's a game of elimination. Myself, Eddie, Sky, Sean, Ashley, Boston Robb. We get five seconds to be able to think of a movie with that word in the title. Zeth will give them to us. We will begin with me. Yes, Shawnee. We should let everyone know we have the clock now. That makes more pressure. I'm about to crumble right now. It's going to be so hard. We're ready. We're going to start with me. I've got five seconds to come up with a movie with this word in the title. It is movies with numbers in the title. 28 days. The number 23. 7. 5. I had so many. The movie 5. The movie 5. The movie 5. The movie 5. 300, Sean? 40 Days and 40 Nights. Hello. Hello. I can't do this. Sean is the worst. Damn it. Sean is eliminated. We now have Eddie start. Eddie will start. And Zeth, go ahead. Denzel Washington movies. Man on Fire. Last Boy Scout. John Keith.
Oh, I just watched that. Remember the Titans? Yeah, remember the Titans. That was a good one. He's in so many of those thrillers. What happened? The Titans. All I kept thinking was The Last Boy Scout. Is that even a movie? Yeah, and he's not even in. And I know he's not in. Well, you know. Sky, you're the best. Okay, Sky and Sean are eliminated. There are only four people left. It's myself. Eddie, Ashley, and Boston Rob. We will begin this time with Ashley. Go ahead, Seth. House. What? What? The word is house. House of horror. Oh, house of horror. Why can't he say movies with the word house in it? House on Haunted Hill. That did throw me off, too. That totally threw me off. House. Like, I had no idea what to do with that. Well, you guys know what the game is. I know. But he needs to put it in my head. It has to be consistent. It threw me off. Seth? From now on, say words or movies with the word blank. House. Okay. House. Three people left. House. Myself. That's for the word. Take it personal. Oh, no. Hey, there wasn't a million bucks on the line. Calm down. House. House. House. Condominium. House.
Town home. Sheriff. All right. We are down to me, Eddie, and Boston Rob. Oh, no. What up? What up? I've already crumbled. We're going to start. We're going to start writing profusely. We're going to start with Boston Rob. Go ahead. Movies with father in the title. Father of the Bride. Yeah. Something of our father. Flags of our fathers. Father of the Bride 2. Father's Day, the comeback. Father, father and happy father's... Father of the comeback? What did you say? I don't know. Father of wax. The terminated father. Pulp father. The house of rising father. The princess father. Oh my gosh. That was horrendous. It is down to Eddie and I. Wasn't it you two last week? I don't know. I think so. Facing off. Oh, no. Starts with me. Seth, begin. Movies with rain in the title. Rain Man. Rain of Fire. Rain Dance. I actually think Rain Dance is a movie. No, come on. Is it? I think it is. Is Rain Dance a movie? Yeah, look, said. Is that it? November Rain is. November Rain is not a movie.
link, dude. Whatever. Come on. Okay. Let me see. Let me look it up. I've gotten a link from Missy and a listener. Send me the link. Send him the link. Send him the link. Send him the link. Send him the link. You said November Rain, and that would have been right, Mike. Can she get over it? She wins last week. Well, it's like you guys say the suck, and then it's like, how do I accept it? Really? Because you knew the movie November Rain? What? Did I not say November Rain? You had no idea. That's neither here nor there. Exactly. November Rain is a movie that came out in 2007, directed by Vinu Joseph. Oh, yeah. That was actually a favorite director, if I'm being honest. But they don't list a cast. They just list the characters Arun, Lalu Alex, Sahihitha Bitti, and Geetha. Well said. It is a movie that was released in Malaysia, and it was an Indian movie. It was, I guess, written in India. I don't think so. I wonder if it was a home movie. Ooh, in that case, I made a home movie called Father's Day. The comeback. The comeback. I'm not seeing rain dance on IMDb. Eddie, you are the winner. My boy, Eddie. That's right, dude.
Eddie, what did he win? We got a pass to see the premiere of Iron Man. Oh, nice. Hang on the line, bro. No problem. Don't go away. I know when the tax rebates are going to be in your mailboxes. You know the old chestnut, together we can move mountains? What a useless phrase. We don't need to move any mountains. Mountains should stay put. In fact, we should probably be working together to not move mountains. Let's think of some better phrases.
Ones that don't imply that being successful means devastating the landscape. How about something like together we can move mountains of trash that have piled up near the old docks. Or maybe together we can drink these two beers I just suddenly got. Or how about simply share the good. That one's nice. And guess what? Right now, we're looking pretty good on most of our freeways. We had an earlier accident northbound 5 past the 52 here involving some injuries, and it was on the right-hand shoulder. And you'll find some left over slowing through that area past Mount Soledad, but that is improving. But that really affected the westbound 52 trying to get to the northbound 5. That is still backed up from the 805 all the way through San Clemente Canyon. This coaster ride south 5 is not too bad, easing up, but still slow out of Encinitas and Salana Beach. South 15, a brief delay through Carmel Mountain Ranch. Other than that, the rest of our freeways, East County, South Bay, moving right along, so enjoy the ride. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105 for 8. You know, the Padres, they just do not like scoring runs. They've scored five runs in 53 innings in their last four home games and lost to the Giants last night 1-0. Mikey, I'm getting deployed on Monday. Going to miss you guys. Thanks for the awesome show. You guys are the best thing in media, period. Signed P1 Gilroy. Stay safe.
This one says, Mikey, please ask Eddie why he's not talking about the NHL playoffs. Eddie. Because I want to keep our audience. Let's be real, Mikey. If someone like Brad Pitt had not paid his taxes, he would not have gotten the maximum sentence like Wesley Snipes. Signed, P1 stud. P1 race card? Right. It must be a black thing. Now, see, I'm going to tell you. I feel. Text messages like that and thoughts like that set the black movement back. They do more negative for the situation than good for the situation. Because the truth is, what I genuinely think is, is that the judge is a hard A. Yeah. And that the judge, it didn't matter who was in front of him.
Like, let's say that it was a big celebrity star like Angelina Jolie that had not paid her taxes. And this hard A judge would have given her three years. If people, if I got a text message from P1 Cynthia saying, well, I bet if this was her husband, a guy, Brad Pitt, this wouldn't happen. Then I would say the same thing. I think that you're setting the women's movement back. See, the only way that people don't pay attention to race is if you don't bring race into it. But the assumption is, oh, this guy must have been a racist for actually holding up the law instead of saying, oh, yeah. So let me get this straight. Wesley Snipes committed a felony.
No, no, no. There's no Wesley Snipes committed a felony. It's, oh, Wesley Snipes is black. I don't know about that one. I mean, if anything, the judge probably has a problem with people who are very, very wealthy not paying their taxes and just wants to prove a point. Exactly. I mean, here's all these celebrities that are writing in on Wesley's behalf, and the judge is probably going, just because I'm getting a letter here from Woody Allen. Doesn't mean that I'm like, oh, you're special. The judge is a moneyist. That's right. Moneyist. That is right. Eddie, I'm going to ask you to, you may need a tissue for this next story. Okay. We are going to discuss Brett Favre. Oh, wow. Eddie says, he's shaking his head, I can't do it. He's shaking his head, I can't do it. Come on, Eddie. No, too soon. I guess the deal is that Brett Favre, who Eddie has an emotional attachment to. Eddie watched his retirement privately, shed a tear privately. Many tears. Over the years, Eddie has come to respect Brett Favre for his play on the field, but he's also come to respect him for his rugged good looks. Guy's gorgeous. What can I say? And so Brett Favre was a guest on David Letterman's show, and he was talking about his retirement. Oh, I can't do it again. Cut 25.
Did Randy Moss have anything to do with this decision? No. And, you know, there's a lot of things out there. No, it didn't. Randy, I think, is a great player. Will continue to be. But believe me, it had no bearing whatsoever on me coming back or not coming back. Now, Shawnee, was that 26 or 25? It was 25. I had an issue this morning. Okay. Do you have the one where he's talking about the retirement? That must be this one. You have retired or you have not retired? I have retired. You have retired. You watch TV a lot, don't you think? Somebody told me that the retirement form had not been signed and mailed in. Is there a retirement form that needs to be signed and mailed in? That's what I've heard. Have you signed it and mailed it in? No, I haven't signed it. Well, there you go.
Your Honor. I think the only reason to sign that form is so I get a severance check or something. So it's actually my benefit, I guess. You're only 38, for everyone's sakes. I know. And as each day, we're getting close to minicamps. You start feeling a little... You know what? Not with minicamps. Okay, forget minicamps. Did I say minicamps? No, forget minicamps. I think when training camp gets close, I will. Something's bound to happen. What does that mean? Something's bound to happen. As you get close to training camp, now wait a minute. Something's bound to happen. What does that mean? I don't know. Did I just say that? You just said something's bound to happen. So this makes me think you're not retired. Butterflies or I don't know. Something's bound to happen. Brett Favre in that clip. I'll tell you what's sad. It's sad to think that this season can come. Don't say it, Mike. You look out on that Greenland Lambeau field. It's like at the end of the movie The Champ with Ricky Schroeder when he's saying, don't go champ, don't go, don't go champ, champ, back champ. It's like little Ricky Schroeder is saying that to number four. I think we've all lost a little something today. To watch a warrior go out there and perform The Grit.
Yes. The desire. The rugged good looks. The passion. And that five o'clock shadow. Every Sunday. Yeah. Those buns. It's tough, really, I guess, too. They are. They're pretty nice. Wow. But to not see him out there on that field, it's a little piece of me's died. Sorry, Eddie. Do you guys believe that? I mean, do you think that a piece of him died? I do. I mean, that's a pretty strong statement. Absolutely, I do. I mean, it's really a strong statement in the gay part. I know you're gay. There it is. Now I'm totally hetero. So, this should be interesting. Ashley Simpson's been asked now about three times by people, are you pregnant or are you not pregnant? But you know that Ellen is pretty up front and doesn't screw around and kind of shoots from the hip. Love it. Cut 32. I can't let you sit here and not ask you the question, the elephant in the room. Now, are you or are you not pregnant?
pregnant well that has been going on for quite a while but that is definitely something that I choose personally not to discuss, except for the fact that maybe I'm like, do I look like I had 10 cheeseburgers or something? I don't think I do. No, you don't look pregnant at all. But everybody is saying you are. Let me just ask you this. If you are, because it really is, I think it's a personal thing. You've got to promise me that you're not going to keep this answer up as long as this woman did when she was. Don't do that. She shows Jennifer Lopez. No, I'm not. I swear. At some point, let us in on it. I promise you that. I give you my pinky on that one. All right. All right. Nothing's funny. Why do it? I don't get it. Like, just say it already. Don't spray it. Brutal.
Ash. I kind of feel like, and I would totally understand this, if maybe she's in her first trimester and she just wants to make sure that she really, like, is going to carry the baby. And she's just waiting those couple of months. Well, yeah, but how long is this now? I think maybe, like, a couple of months. Maybe, like, three months is in the first trimester. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then once she gets into the second trimester, maybe she'll make the announcement. And I totally respect that. See, I thought that the whole reason, and I do, too. I mean, I think that when you're a celebrity, that may, you know, that's a deal. But why would you not do this? I mean, it seems like the whole reason that the question came up is because she's showing. Is that true or not true? Well, I think it first came up because of her confirming her engagement. Oh, just because she's engaged? But then since the engagement, there's been baggy clothing. She carries her purse now in front of her stomach. And just the fact that she will not answer the question. Yeah, yeah, yeah. just keeps it going. That's goofy. Because it's like she doesn't want to say no because she is and that'd be lying and then everyone would freak out when she announces it a month later but she doesn't want to say yes and then lose the baby and then have the media like totally up in her grill when it's a really private sad time. Instead of going through this, just lie to the media. Just tell everyone no. What are they going to do? Yeah. You know what? I'm down with that.
Oh, well, just lie. You don't have to deal with it. We don't have to deal with it. Nobody has to deal with it. When you're ready to tell us, tell us. It's not like we're going to hate you, and it's not like your career ain't already over. You know, I don't... She just came out with a CD. Oh, yeah. Got good reviews. Wow. It might be funny. Make sure I get that letter tomorrow. It might be funny if she goes, no. Are you pregnant? No. Well, but there's a lot of rumors out there. Yeah, I know. I heard that. You're not pregnant though? No. So what if you turn up pregnant next month? Man, that would be funny. Yeah. And I think the, the, you know, everyone would totally understand if, you know, she does turn up pregnant saying, well, it's bad luck to announce your pregnancy before you're in your second trimester. So of course I wasn't going to, you know, answer those questions. Right. And everyone would be down with that. Yeah. Yeah. And I mean, only thing is, I don't think that we're. I don't think we're in that three-month period. I think we're past it. I think, but I don't know. No, I think we're still in that three-month period. We are? Well, if, I mean, who knows? You know, conception date, but, you know. That's what they should ask her. Yeah, when did you concede? Tell us all about it. When did you do it? Let's see. I don't want to play that. It's more Ashley Simpson stuff. Sky has new releases that are coming out this week.
Arby's out today. What do you got? Baby Mama. Looks funny, right? I think it looks awesome. You want to hear a scene? You mean awful. It's pronounced awful. Tina Fey. It looks awesome. Want to hear a scene from it? Yes, I would love to. Cut seven. Do you think you're at an Arby's right now? You know what? I wish I was at an Arby's because there's better food and cooler people there. Did you stick all this gum under here? I don't. No. Maybe you stuck some of it under there. Yeah. Actually, you might be right. Because sometimes when I work a really long day, I like to come home and chew a huge wad of bubblicious gum and stick it under my reclaimed barnwood coffee table. Bitch, I don't know your life. Okay, so this is Amy Poehler talking about the movie Cut Nine. And I think Juno is very different than Knocked Up, and I think our film is very different than that, too. And so I think they're all kind of different. Although they tend to deal with the same topic, that's really where it ends in some ways, the comparisons, I think. But I think our film is in the same vein as Knocked Up. It's just kind of straight-up comedy with jokes. Why is it called Baby Mama? Because Tina Fey can't get pregnant, so she hires Amy Poehler to have a baby for her.
And then they obviously come from different worlds, but have to have a close relationship due to that. Sounds funny. I wonder if Whoopi Goldberg is asking them about it because... why it's called Baby Mama. Yeah. Because she's, like, irritated that it's called Baby Mama and they're two white women. No, don't say that. I was wondering that, too. Yeah, no, yeah. Skye, you thought that, too? Well, when I saw that there was a clip from The View that Whoopi was asking about the title, that was my first assumption. But I haven't heard that. I mean, can't you kind of see Whoopi getting kind of freaked out that it would be called Baby Mama? Cut 37. Why is it called Baby Mama? There's no apostrophe for S. Isn't it Baby Mama? What is that? Baby Mama is a term, Whoopi. So is the N-word, all right? You know, suburban white culture has adopted hip-hop culture. And it's certainly come across the board for whoever is the mother of your child, whether you're married or not married. No apostrophe, no babies. We tested very badly. The apostrophe tests badly.
Nice. Okay, so before we went to break, I said that Sky was going to tell us when those checks are coming out. Yes. We know what day next week you can start to expect that they will start arriving in the mail. Yeah. They are going to start distributing the tax rebate checks five days earlier than they had announced previously. The checks will start to go out on Monday. Oh. This is Monday. About 800,000 will go out on Monday. Now, keep in mind, they say those people who do direct deposit with the IRS will get their stuff that way. Yeah, so, boy, that's going to leave Boston Rob in the lurch. Oh, no, Rob. This year I did it with direct deposit. Come on. No, you did not. You're a crazy person. That's crazy. You know, I hear that so many people rob those out of the, you know. Going against everything you know. And they will start distributing them based on the last two digits of your social security number. Oh, good. Mine is two. So anyway, there's a deal with that. Breaking news, NBC 739. Good morning. I'm Jason Austell along with Mary Ann Cushy. This morning we are following breaking news of a fatal shark attack.
Along the San Diego County coastline in Solana Beach. This is a very, very rare occurrence in these waters. We understand a swimmer out earlier this morning. The swimmer? Wow. Dude, let me tell you something. We've lived in, you know, starting, I started living in San Diego in 1994. Eddie did too. I have never heard of a fatal shark attack. In fact, I think that worldwide. Fatal shark attacks are somewhat rare. Very rare. Yeah. Yeah, you know, like attacks, they happen. Yes. Fatal attacks, very rare. I was struck by a shark. When they brought that swimmer to the shore, there was injuries to that person's legs. We're still trying to find out whether this was a man or a woman. You're looking at a live shot from News Chopper 739 at the lifeguard activity there on the beach in Solana Beach. If you're familiar with the area, this is near Fletcher Cove. If you know the surf breaks in that location, you will recognize Tabletops, and that is where this apparently all took place. Tabletops, what is that? Is that like a surf term? Is it a restaurant? What is that? It's probably a spot in the water. Okay, it's an area where people surf. Okay.
And lifeguards are saying for swimmers to get out of the water. Once again, that's in the Solana Beach area in the Tabletops area. Shark attacks are very rare in this area. They usually occur to the north of us or in Hawaii or in Florida. From the Birch Aquarium, we're getting information from a story that we did back many years ago in which the last fatal shark attack occurred in April of 1994. A woman. Whoa. So it was right when we got here, Eddie. Wow. I don't even remember that. Do you? I'm trying to remember what month we moved here. I think it was in the summertime. There you go. That's probably why we don't remember. Was attacked by a shark and died. And before that, it was about 30 years prior to that that there was another shark attack. They say that bull sharks and great hammer sharks may have been seen in the... Great hammer sharks? Does she mean hammerheads? Is she confusing great whites with hammerheads? Maybe if they had a baby or something. area at some time throughout the years, but those are very rare and that they usually feed on sea lions or harbor seals and certainly not humans. That's right. These great white, if this is in fact a great white shark, we don't know. They're very uncommon to this area. And of course, we will have more coming up in 25 minutes. That's our next news update. We'll be back with the very latest. It's been a long time. No way. It's been a long time. And there's a guy on the line that surfs there every day at tabletops. He surfs there every day.
We still got him? Got it. This is P1 Downspell. What's up, dude? What's up, man? So why is this an area that surfers like? Well, it sticks pretty far out on the coastline. So like if you look at the coast and you look up the beach, it sticks out about, you know, a quarter of a mile. So the waves hit it from all directions. And the kelp's actually closer to where the waves break, you know, because the kelp stays the same distance away from the shore. So it's generally closer where the waves break better. And a lot of people go fishing out there, too, because the kelp's closer in and there's the reef right there. So it's a hot spot for fish and stuff, but not sharks like this. This is like, this should not happen. This is really, really rare. And why, tell me this, why should it not happen? What are the conditions in the water that are... It's really cold. It's extra cold this year. And right now it should be about 64, 65 degrees. It's still under 60 and sharks love cold water. And I think that's the only reason that the shark's still around. Oh, sharks love cold water. Yeah. Well, this kind of shark, you know, great whites and those kinds like cold. And then I think tigers like warm and stuff like that. But the colder the water around here, the more likely there's going to be sharks. Wow, man.
Crazy. Wow. The amazing thing is that it was inside the kelp line, which is, you know, where all the surfers sit. Like, it could have been anybody. I surfed Pillbox, which is right down the street from there, twice yesterday. And it could have happened to anybody. You know what I mean? Like, it was right there. Like, you could have been on the beach looking out at the water and seeing this person. Is that going to freak you out to go surfing again? Oh, yeah. I was on my way down there this morning. And I seriously got butterflies. Dude. I went down there. I went down there. I rushed down there because my friend called. And I go down there, and he's walking up. He's a photographer, and he was with the person's daughter that got killed. And I went to talk to him, and he's like, not a good time, not a good time, and walked by me. And I guess it was his son's teacher's dad that got attacked. And he was a seasoned swimmer, and he was just rutting. It was just horrible. And then I just watched him take the body away. It was absolutely surreal. I was tripping out, man. This was my home break. That's where I surfed every day. get murdered, you know, by a fish. That was just crazy. Hey, dude, thanks for the call. Check this out. This is a stat we just got. What? 38 attacks out of a population of about 300 million sharks, which means the odds of being attacked by a shark in the United States are roughly 1 in 8 million. Jeez. Wow. P1 Vince has some information on sharks. He's been surfing 13 years, right, Vince? That's true. What do you know?
You know, I usually go surf Black's Beach and stuff down, like, San Diego, La Jolla, and that's always been, like, you know, a really sharky area as far as, like, a mile out. That's, like, from what I've heard, you know, they got the shelf that has dropped real deep, and that's, like, the breeding ground for, like, Hammerheads and Great Whites, so. Really? Yeah, I surf tabletops a couple times. I mean, I usually surf, like, you know, Cardiff, but, I mean, it's a little sketchy area sometimes, you know. And what do you mean when you say sketchy area? Well, you know. There's a lot of, like, deep spots. Like, you know, the other guy says a lot of kelp. And sometimes, you know, you'll go out, it'll get shallow, it'll get deep, and it'll get shallow again. So, you know, if something does happen, you're kind of, you know, in a bad situation. Right, right, right. You're not going to be able to get in real fast. Just like La Jolla, it's just prime prick seals and everything that sharks feed on. You've got to kind of know the info where you go. Hey, man, thanks for the call. All right, thank you. Bye. That is scary stuff. that that is going to keep people away from beaches in San Diego all summer long? Oh, well, and this weekend is supposed to be, it's supposed to be like 90 degrees at the beach this weekend, so. So how will that, you guys tell me, what do you think? Will that, no way in the world I would ever let my family in the water. Text number is 35253. And our phone number is 5701053. Love to hear from you. It's a mighty show. And if you surf,
tabletops, or you know about this kind of stuff, we'd love to talk to you, man. 570-1053. Of the world, the monkey show is on. But at what cost? At what cost? This is The Rock. Like, you know, Cricket Wireless Amphitheater is going to be the best spot to see all the concerts this summer. Well, you know, with this children's museum, there's no real place like this. I've never heard of a place like this where kids can actually go in, touch. climb, move stuff, and they actually play around in this museum, which I think is really cool. Yeah, I was reading they even are going to do birthday parties there, which is so huge. That's great. That's pretty cool. And our friends over at Cricket, they're big-time supporters. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Overall, not a bad ride, but we are getting word of a bad injury crash here where a car went over the side of the freeway down the embankment into a gully southbound 15 just past Arrow Drive. So expect some slow traffic around that right now. South Pond's out of the flag down the shoreline. You've got some slow traffic still out of Encinitas and Slaughter Beach. Other than that, though, the rest of our freeways are up to speed looking pretty nice. So enjoy the ride for a beautiful morning. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Is this Rebecca? Yes, it is. I understand that you went to sleep train. Yes, I did. What happened? Well, my husband and I went back last May. We just got married, so we bought our new mattress. We got a really good deal on it. They threw in free sheets and pillows because we said we heard about it through you. And they also gave us the free mattress protector. So it was really cool. And I referred my mom to go there because she is buying a bed for my grandmother just this last week. And she went to the Curti Mesa store, and they actually beat the price on a Costco mattress. The Sleep Train was selling it for, I think, around $1,000, and then the Costco price was like $500-something. So they beat that, which is awesome.
They just won Best Mattress Store, and there's a reason for it. They're really good. The prices are great, and if you're getting one of these good name brand mattresses, or no matter what you're looking for, they're great. How is that mattress in terms of being comfortable? It's awesome. I can't get out of bed in the morning. It's really comfortable. That is good stuff. Thank you. You got it. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. Now some you might have missed. They're going to be doing some small arms training tonight at Miramar. So if you hear anything crazy, I call the bazooka. Oh, man. Hey, listen, it's nice to see you. I know that you're a neighbor, and so I was just going to tell you, if you hear anything tonight, you know, weird noises, whatever. A scream. Yeah, you know, I just wanted to let you know we're going to be wrestling over here. But you're not in the military. You know, we're acting out a play actor. Yeah, we're doing that miserable. Yeah, we're doing less miserables than that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you hear a guy screaming, saying,
No, no, I swear, Cam, I didn't say anything to anybody. You know, just remember, we're playing around. Yeah. Steelers wheel really loud. Yeah. We're just watching that movie. Yeah. Mikey. 105.3. Announced yesterday that there are now six more cases of hepatitis A linked to the Chipotle restaurant in La Mesa. The Jets trade defensive tackle Dwayne Robertson to Denver for a conditional draft pick. So we're getting text messages at 35253 about the shark attack. Hey, guys. It's called global warming. The waters are changing. Sea animals are going after different food sources. This could happen more frequently. Oh, come on. Any excuse to do that? Well, I mean, it is a scientific fact. Says who? Scientists? Yes. Where? Everywhere. Never heard it. That the water temperatures and the tides and everything are... The water's colder. How is that global warming?
Because the ice caps are melting, you're getting more cold water, and then it's affecting the tide. In the next year, they'll be too hot. It's science, Holmes. Totally. My Mexican-ness is what defines me, so I don't really know about science, you know. Never heard of it. Mostly, I just concentrate on being Mexican. It's good for you. Mikey, there is a large amount of seals and sea lions off the Del Mar coastline. Shark food, P1 North County. Mikey, great hammerheads are the largest species of hammerhead. Someone send him the link. It's P1 Papa Burr. Mikey, I've surfed Solana Beach probably a thousand times. I've never seen a shark. I see dolphins all the time, and they keep sharks away. People shouldn't be afraid to go out there. I don't think there's going to be any avoiding people being afraid to go out there for a while. Mikey, I was planning on going to the beach this weekend. Instead, I'm going to hang by the pool. Probably a good idea. P1 boa constrictor. Until they figure it out. I wonder if they could do anything. I don't know that they can actually, you know, do anything to keep sharks away. Well, if that one's that close, I mean, they really could hunt it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And catch them. They probably could. And they might try. Probably. They might try to do it. Well, there are helicopters out there right now looking for it. Dude. Really? Yeah, trying to see if they could spot it from the air. And from what I hear, they're, you know, clearing the beach or the waters in North County. Oh, my.
This will be one of those deals, remember when. Oh, yeah. This will be one of those, you know, you guys remember in 08 when that shark attack happened. Let's see. Did we get through the movies? No, there were two more. What do we got? Okay, so we already did Baby Mama. Also opening today is Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay. Come on. Awesome. Cut three. Man, we love America. We love America. Very much. Oh, that's a convenient thing to say after you try and blow up a plane filled with Americans. No, you didn't do that. No, you see, you have the wrong idea. My idiot friend here brought marijuana on the plane. Hey, hey, hey, hey, zip it, Hello Kitty. Okay? I know your operation's funded through drugs. This is typical government, sir. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. I'm trying to explain it. Shut up. Harold, shut up. This guy loves these movies. Yeah, well, do you remember at the end of Harold and Kumar Eat White Castle that they were going off to Amsterdam to find Maria, and while they're on the plane, they get mistaken for terrorists and taken to Guantanamo Bay. It happens. Here's John Cho. John Cho. He's a person in the movies. And he's talking about the crassness of the movie. Cut five.
We've gone pretty far, and I feel like if there's a line, I've probably already crossed it. I do feel that the movies are pretty good-natured. Sexuality isn't really pervy, or it is pervy in a very adolescent, boyish way. I'd rather be doing this than making some of the other violent product that's coming out of Hollywood. As long as it's funny, I think I'll go for it. Make the statement. That's right. And PH will be back for this one as well. Oh, thank goodness. Look forward to that. That's the only thing that was keeping me. Yep. Sky, will you be seeing it this weekend? Not this weekend, but it'll be definitely something I will see. We are watching Lars and the extravagant woman in the box this weekend. It's called Lars and the Real Girl. Lars and the Real World is something that we're going to watch on DVD this weekend. I can't wait to hear what you think. I can already tell I'm going to like it. I already know I'm going to like it. Cool. It's weird. Yes. So I know I'll like it. Yes, definitely. What else is coming out? And then finally, also out today, Deception with Ewan McGregor. Yeah, he plays an accountant who's lost his passion for life when his new lawyer friend played by Hugh Jackman introduces him into this weird sex club and then of course... To weird sex club, of course. Yeah, and then things go very wrong. And then...
Things go very wrong from there. Thank you, Mike. Could I get some water over here, please? Cut ten? No rough stuff. I say if that's your thing, take it elsewhere. No business talk and no names. Right. This is Fight Club? How did he get into this? A friend of mine. He introduced you to the list and failed to explain the basics? He had to leave town. Look, I'm doing something wrong here, aren't I? It's not that. It's just that you strike me as something as a stowaway. If it wasn't for the $4,000 suit, I'd say you didn't belong here at all. I think... It just happened. Yeah. Okay, I had the wrong movie. I was going to say, I think Sigourney Weaver's in it. She's actually in that comedy with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, Baby Mama. Baby Mama? She's actually in Baby Mama. Anyway. So, uh, is it like a sex club as in like what the governor in New York was doing or no, that's an escort service. Yes. That's an, this is like some, it's like fight club except with sex. Yeah. No names. Yeah. That's right. First rule of the sex club is sex club. And then the second rule is that you have to bring Ed Norton. So it's supposed to be the deal. That's what I heard. Uh, let's see.
Ashley is friends with somebody who had a little falling out with his girlfriend. Ash! And it's kind of a confusing situation for her because her and him were friends and she was kind of caught in the middle of the whole thing. Oh, so she's friends with both. Well, no, no, no. She's friends with a guy, but she somehow kind of got caught in the middle of the whole why they broke up thing. No, that's not quite how it happened. I misunderstood. Yeah. What happened? I know. It's complicated, but basically, long story short, we had a falling out a while ago. Who's we? Me and this guy. Him and I used to be very, very close. They're our best friends. He's my best friend. He definitely used to be one of my best friends. His name is Rob. That's right. This shirt. And then we kind of parted ways. I went to rehab, and he was kind of doing stuff that I maybe didn't agree with. And then when I came out of rehab and kind of got my stuff all good, I called him back because I wanted to still be friends with him. I could care about him. And he blew me off. And he had this new girlfriend, and he was like, you know, she doesn't want us to be friends because she's threatened by you or something like that. Yeah.
He said that was part of the reason why. But the other part of the reason was because I hadn't talked to him in a couple months, you know, because I'd gone to rehab. So we totally didn't talk. I tried to tell him happy birthday, like in November. He wanted nothing to do with me, like blew me the hell off. So I was like, all right, wash my hands of it. Got a text from him yesterday that was like. Hey, I hope I didn't burn this bridge too much. I'm alone right now. I don't have anybody. I really could use a friend. Can you please be there for me? And I just, like, really didn't know what to do because now I'm in a relationship with a guy that I, you know, love more than anything. And, you know, I just don't want to put myself in a situation. It's my boyfriend, Mark. It's my boyfriend, Mark. I love him. He's so great. Mark, if you're listening. Mark, shut up. I love him. You're the best, baby. He eats my disgusting food. He is a very wise man. Wow, Eddie. Had to take it there. Mark, you liked my halibut casserole. You loved it. Ew. You know, but I'm just kind of like really stuck between a rock and a hard place because I don't know if I should be there for him because in my nature, I'm nurturing. I like to be there for people. But at the same time, I kind of feel like this ship has sailed. Like there's really nothing more in the friendship that he can bring to the table.
I feel like. Yeah. Well, can I give my opinion on this? I would like your opinion. All right, let's do this. You're very knowledgeable in this department of like relationships and stuff, Mike. Let's take a quick time out. When we come back, I'm going to, and maybe as you're listening, I can relate to that. So you're thinking about how you handled it, and then we'll come back and I'll tell you how I'd handle it. If he says one more cool thing, he's in. This is The Rock. Critical. Sean, you know we hate that. He knows what he's doing. Hit it. Hit it. The right clip. The one you had heard it. K-I-O-Z San Diego. That wasn't it. That wasn't it either. K-I-O-Z San Diego. And we are hit it. He's playing random clothes because he's being a jerk. That guy wins one award.
And suddenly, he just feels like... Wait a second! What are you... Welcome back to the show, ladies and gentlemen. Award-winning sound effects. That's right. Welcome back. What? What is going on? Sky, what? Well, somebody placed a mustard packet right in front of me right on my... You ate mustard! But you're allergic to mustard! I assumed it was Zeth, so I chucked it at his head, and he's now looking at me like, Why are you throwing things at me? I haven't left my seat. I did not do it. And, by the way, for the record, I found out that your kitten card was thrown away the other day, and you asked, did Mike do this? Well, because everyone in the office was denying that they did it. We told you you did. That was probably why. Who put the mustard in them?
Oh, it was me. Oh, well, then she was right in throwing it at you, you monster. Okay, so when we left, I was telling you, we were talking to Ash. Oh, yeah. I want to see if people can relate to this. Now, Ash was friends with this guy. This guy gets a girlfriend. He says, we can't really be friends anymore. I got this girlfriend. She doesn't like it. Ash is hurt by it. They don't talk. Now, Ash has a boyfriend. Dude sends her a text message and says, oh, I just broke up with my girlfriend. I really need a friend right now. Now, he didn't say he broke up with his girlfriend. He said he has no one. He feels very alone. He's going through a lot and can't. Right. And I'm like. Oh, so he's not even saying anything. He didn't flat out say he broke up with his girlfriend, although I would assume that. That's I'm sure that's the problem. Right. Well, otherwise, why would you say that, you know, you're lonely? Right. You have no one else. I would assume. Yeah. That would be the deal. Well, here is, first of all, let's start from the very beginning. Yes. What he did, I feel, is appropriate. You know, if his girlfriend was uncomfortable with his relationship with you, it's appropriate for you and him not to talk. It's not, for you, it's not the greatest thing in the world. It blows. It sucks, you know, because he's your friend, and it feels like you're being abandoned by somebody, and, you know, friendship is supposed to mean a lot. I've abandoned my child!
When you're in a relationship with somebody and you get into a relationship with a guy or a girl and your friendship is making them uncomfortable and you choose to continue to be friends with them, you've made a choice. My friendship with them is more important to me than my relationship boyfriend and girlfriend wise with you, which is fine. Right. Which, by the way, in my opinion, is fine. If you do decide that. Sure. Because it's up to you. If ultimately you believe that friendship, then you say, so you and I can't be together. You're not my boyfriend anymore. You're not my girlfriend anymore. But I would say to you, if you're willing to go that far, then you should probably be with that friend. Right. Like that should be your boyfriend or your girlfriend. Yeah. And if they're not willing to reciprocate it back and that's the reason you're not boyfriend or girlfriend with them.
you shouldn't be maintaining that while you have a significant other. For instance, I don't know if this guy ever had anything for you. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. He did. Okay, perfect. But I didn't for him. You didn't for him. No. Then it's exactly what I'm saying. Let's say it is what it is. He has these feelings for Ashley. He gets a new girlfriend. The new girlfriend says, I don't like this. Well, if you choose to stay friends with Ashley at that point, and... The only reason you're really not even with her is because she's not reciprocating. That's not good. That's not cool to your new girlfriend. It's not cool. Well, you'll never move on. A, you'll never move on. B, it's not fair to her. And it's just the whole thing all the way around. It's just not. Which I totally agree. Although I just think the way he went about it was he was really mean. Could be. That was unnecessary. Yeah, yeah, that was unnecessary. Yeah, I agree. Now, let me ask you this. Now, you're in a relationship.
Yes. With your boyfriend, Mark. My boyfriend, Mark. And I love him. And Mark is the Greek god Cyclone. He's the best. Okay, so let me ask you. Let me ask you this. So now you're in a relationship with Mark. Do you think it would be appropriate to have the same friendship with this guy? Now? No, and I don't feel comfortable with that. And tell me why. Because the old me likes that attention, you know, from anyone, whether it be a guy or a girl. I liked attention. I still do, obviously, but, you know, I had a lot of guy friends that I knew had feelings for me. I did not reciprocate them, but I just liked that they treated me good, you know? So the old me would have liked it, but now being in a friendship with a guy who...
Potentially is, like, secretly in love with me or has feelings. And I am in a really awesome relationship. Like, I don't feel comfortable hanging out with that person. Like, I don't think that's right. Especially if he, like, just got out of a relationship and is, like, knocking on my door. Uh-uh. Like, I don't think that's cool. You're growing up. That's really how I feel. And that's really how I feel. And it's very mature. And that's, you know, I called Mark, my boyfriend, last night. No, my boyfriend, Mark. Oh, my God. I love him. Mark. But, you know, I called him last night. 10 and 40 seconds. Oh, no. Uh-oh. Oh, what happened? You're not going to win any awards like that. Shut your filthy mouth. I won't even get you a nomination. No, Mike. No. No. No. I don't like it anyway. Not even going to get nominated, dude. Dude, with that kind of joke. Yeah, you can talk in like that.
good. I'll keep making some jokes. No, let me tell you something. It's not very classy, dude. Speaking of classy, have you seen Ashley today? She is exquisite. Absolutely stunning. She's like a work of art. That's right, dude. Let me tell you something. You remind me of a movie star. Wow, thank you, Mark. It's just absolutely gorgeous. You are quite the gentleman. You know what she is? She's spotless. That's all I'm going to tell you. You know when you put your dishes in the dishwasher? Yeah, dude. And you put that little stuff in that little... Cascade, bro. Yeah, little cascade. No, I'm talking about the other stuff, bro. The smaller bottle, that jet dry. Dude, that's not good. I can't even afford that. That's right, dude. That's what Ashley is, okay? You can barely afford the jet dry. She's unattainable, bro. That's right, dude. She is sanitized. That's what I'm saying. You open up... The top rack, you take out that wine glass, you go, oh, look at that, dude. It's perfect. That's it with bleach. That's right. That's who she is. That's right. Oh, well, thank you. Smells like bleach. Like her perfume is bleach, okay? This is getting weirder. That's right, dude. I want to call her Clorox. Okay, well, thank you. Mark Ballman. Ballman. Mark Ballman.
So there you go. I'm very proud of you, Ash. It looks like you're growing up, and that's very mature. Do you concur, Mike? Oh, yeah, yeah. I concur. I concur. You're smart. You're doing the right thing. You're doing the right thing, and I'll tell you what it is. It's very respectful to Mark. I do. He's so great. Wait, Eddie. All right, we got a lot of stuff we haven't got to. Skye has a list of the richest teen celebrities. We know who the number one is. Yeah. What's after Simee Myrus? Simee Myrus. They say the Miley Cyrus franchise is projected to be worth $1 billion. Oh, healthy. Healthy for her age. Her mom says that most of the money is invested and Miley can't touch it until she's 18 years old. Not even then.
That's ridiculous. Also on the list. No, let's guess. Dakota Fanning. Dakota Fanning. Yep, she's on the list. What about that McCookie Culkin? Oh, good call. McCookie Culkin. Dakota Fanning's on the list. How about that guy? Marcia Brady. Yeah, Marcia Brady. Making about $4 million a movie. Yeah, dude. I want you to check out Emmanuel Lewis, okay? He's the midget black guy. He's great, okay? I loved him in all those movies. Not quite spotless, but real funny. He's great. What about Richie Rich? Check the list for Richie Rich, okay? It's in the name. My favorite teenager. My favorite rich teenager. Hillary Duff? Is she still a teen? If she is, she's been a teenager for 14 years. Jamie Lee Spears. Curtis. Jamie Lynn Spears, rather. No. Oh. The Zac Efron. How about that Casey Gifford, you know, Frank and Marcia Gifford's boy. Chris Brown. What's up?
Isn't he like 17? He's a pastor at North Coast. What's the matter with you? I don't know. It's not on the list I have here. How about Hanson, Scott? Yeah, what about Hanson? Are they on there? Move up. Well, what is today's version of Hanson? Hey, what about that cute little Jonathan Lip Nicky? What about him? Oh, yeah. Jonah Brothers. Yeah, the Jonas Brothers made $12 million last year. That's it? Damn. Wait a minute. Is there such thing as the Jonas Brothers and the Jonah Brothers? It's the Jonas Brothers, I thought. Jonas Brothers. With the S on the end. They're brothers, and they're real popular. I think I have a clip of the Jonah brothers. There's an S on the end. There's an S on the end. Yeah, they were swallowed by a whale. What are you talking about? What are you saying, man? Here is Kevin Jonas on the Okra show talking about the start of the Jonas brothers. Cut 33. Kevin, how did all this happen? How did it happen? It started with Nick. He had a solo career. He was making a record. And me, Joe, and Nick actually all wrote a song together. We actually asked him if that'd be all right at the time. And then he was like, absolutely. So we did it. And then we all got signed and then started touring, recording. And then four and a half years later, we're sitting here with you. What about Boston Rob? Is he on the list or is he not on the list? He is definitely not on the list. He's my favorite team. He's my favorite team. How old is LeBron James?
Yeah, he's got to be like, what, 17, 18 by now? 16. Zethian Oates. Yeah, what about Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates, the third, junior, Esquire? No. He's not on the list. He's not even a hundred air. He's not even a hundred air. No, it's true. Put him on the board anyway. I give up. I don't know who. Minky Tuscadero. Yeah, is she on there? What about Leather? Leather Tuscadero. Ashley Tisdale. The only other one I have here that you guys will know is Abigail Breslin, who makes about $2 million. I thought she was like five. How much do you think her weekly allowance is? I know how much it is. You're close, Eddie. Her weekly allowance. $15, $20, $5, $4, $20, $9, $20.
$11 a week. $1,100 a week. She makes $2 million a family. Those parents are awful. Do you think that they're saving every dime of it for her? It's her money. They're spending it, right? Of course. Can you imagine having to ask your kid if you could buy something? I couldn't do it. I don't know that I could. Like, hey, Jake. Like, you're all like, you know, you're all like kind of nervous. Like when you're a kid asking your parents for, you want a big purchase, right? Hollywood kid. So you come to them all like, you know, humble and everything. You're like, hey, Jake, what's up? Hey, buddy, what's up? Hey, um, hey, can I talk to you for a minute? Bobby. Bobby. Bobby. Bobby. Bobby. Hey, buddy, how are you? Bobby. Oh, good. Hey, listen. You know, your mom and I, we were looking at this boat, and we know that you've made all the money from the Bobby commercials. Yeah. And what we were wondering is if it would be okay if mom and dad borrowed $40,000 from you. Say Bobby if we can. Yeah, say Bobby if we can do it. Okay, just say it once then. Okay, buddy? Okay, don't say it if we can do it. Okay, yeah, don't say it then.
Oh, no, that means that he doesn't want us to. Doesn't want us to do it then, I guess. Okay, wait, you're saying it a lot. You're really saying it, yeah. All right, then. All right. No more crackers. So there's this big controversy because Bill O'Reilly was talking about Smiley Myrus, and he was saying that she... How many times? Her name is so much better like that. Well, let's just play the clip. Cut 52. This is Disney's biggest star right now. She's a clean-cut teen queen. But then these pictures show up on the Internet. Now, they're not obviously as bad as some other pictures, but she's 14 in these pictures. That's the problem. How did these pictures surface? And she's kind of doing this teasy peekaboo thing. And believe me when I tell you that parents all over the country, they like this girl because she is clean.
So, Skye, what is it? What are the pictures? They're pictures, allegedly, of her. You know, of course, her camp has not confirmed or denied these pictures. But, like, other people, like other Disney people, have come out defending her, saying that she's taking the high road with these pictures and whatever. But they're her. And, one, she's kind of in this little, it's like halfway between a bra, halfway between, like, a tank top. And so her midriff is totally exposed. And she's, like, lounging. What Seth is wearing right now. Yeah. She's, like, lounging across this dude. Slimming. And then this other picture kind of looks like it was taken by maybe eight. Seth puts it on and he's always like, hey, you guys, does this make me look fat? And we're like, no. And then another picture looks fine. No, you're beautiful. Another picture looks like it was taken by like a camera on her computer or something. And it's her in a tank top, but she's kind of pulling side of it down. So like half her bra is hanging out. So where would these have come from? Who would have taken that? Well, one looks like she's taking it herself because it's so close. And what would she be taking that for? I don't know. Face space. I'm telling you, man, that my space. I think it makes all those girls want to do that. They all want to take them. So anyway, so unpause.
I'll tell you that parents all over the country, they like this girl because she is clean cut. I mean, I hope there should be a conference because, you know, look, we have so few role models, particularly for little girls in this country. She is one, the main one. He sounds with it. Yeah, so there should be a conference. Did he just say that? I didn't hear him say that. Yeah, so everyone should get together to discuss the impact that these Miley Cyrus pictures are having on America. Can you play him saying that one more time, Shani? Yeah, I can find it. This is Disney's... I just want to hear... Yeah, it's right at the end. Yeah, it's right around here. I mean, I hope there should be a conference and because, you know, look, we have... It should be a conference. I don't get it. Yeah. Like where do we hold the conference? Like the convention center? Yeah. Who's invited? Everybody that thinks something, get down here. Thinks something. They can do it like right after Comic-Con. Yeah. Miley-Con. Breaking news. Good morning, I'm Jason Austell, joined by Marianne Cushy. This morning we are following an unfortunate story of a fatal shark attack just off the shore in Solana Beach. About a quarter mile offshore, it's reported, sometime just after seven... A quarter mile seems like a long way, man. Yeah, from what I've read so far, this guy was swimming and training, swimming with a group of triathletes. Oh, really? Yeah. So he wasn't there by himself? Yeah, that's what I've read. Oh, my goodness.
Oh, my goodness. Panic? Yeah, you think? The clock this morning, it appears a group of nine people from a triathlon organization, a group, a club, were swimming in the water just off Solana Beach. This is something they do each and every Friday. That's probably why. Yeah, because all the water's flailing around. That, and it probably looked like prey. It probably looked like a school of something. Yeah, that's a great point. Morning when a man was suddenly, as some of the swimmers were looking back, they heard a commotion. They heard him yell for help. He went underwater for a short time. They were able to get him back to shore. And apparently that man died once they got him back to the beach. His injuries consistent with that of a shark. At this point, it is speculated that that shark is a great white. We haven't confirmed that yet. Why are they speculating that it was a great white? I don't know. Probably from the size of the wound. Yeah, and I did read that their experts from SeaWorld are coming in to look at the body to examine the bite mark to pinpoint exactly what shark it was. Is that right? Yeah. Wow. But do we have crews mobilized right now on the ground in Solana Beach?
bringing us the very latest information. We have a 1045 press conference scheduled, and we will obviously be taking you right to that once it starts. We understand that the victim is a 66-year-old man. He's a triathlete, and we understand from Bob Battibit, who's the publisher at Competitor Magazine, that they go out there every Friday morning at 7 o'clock. We also have another witness named Rob who called us in who witnessed, actually, the incident itself. And apparently he describes the victim as a very, it's a big man, a weighing pressure. about 220 pounds, close to six feet tall, and it happened in his estimate at about a quarter of a mile out. The victim apparently yelled shark, and there were some exclamations there. The other swimmers, as Jason mentioned, rushed out to go and help him. They pulled him to shore, but apparently he bled to death. They called Mercy Air, but unsuccessful in that the victim was unable to get to the hospital. We have a map to show you the area right now, and apparently the Coast Guard and the Sheriff's Department is coming up and down the North County area looking for what they believe might be a great white shark, but sheriff's officials as well as lifeguards have not confirmed it, and News Chopper 739 right now is flying right above the area.
Yes, that's the lifeguard station. If you're familiar with Solana Beach, you know the Fletcher Cove area. That's the lifeguard station there at Fletcher Cove. And this, as surfing goes, if you're a surfer, you know the breaks along that North County shoreline. This is Tabletops, not too far from Pillbox. And again, this was not a surfer. This was a swimmer, a part of a group of nine people. It's something they do every morning, training for a triathlon or doing their triathlon training. We have Christine Fazal, who's out there on the scene right now, and she's going to bring us the very latest that she's been able to gather. Good morning, Christine. Well, good morning, Jason. And as you mentioned, as a triathlete, this is a person that we're told is out here every Friday swimming with a group of friends. Excellent swimmer. We're told that at the time of this attack, he was about 150 yards out in the water. Now, I want to take it. You can take a look behind me. You can see still quite a few people gathered here. These are just people, beach goers, people passing by, wondering what all the commotion was. And everyone we've spoken to this morning is just absolutely in shock. Everyone from swimmers, locals, vacationers, and even lifeguards who say they have been here
for 40 years and have never seen anything like this. As you can imagine, they are trying to figure out exactly what to do. They're pretty sure they're going to close the beaches at least for 72 hours. They've contacted beaches, Del Mar. 72. Oh, my God. That is the big weekend. It's going to be hot. It's going to be hot, hot this weekend. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And they're going to close them. And even beaches outside of the county to try to figure out how best to handle this. Of course, in the present time, they have gotten everyone out of the water. As you mentioned before, this victim was pronounced dead on the scene at about just before 8 o'clock this morning. And shortly after we got here, when we were here, the woman who said that she was the person's wife came up and told sheriffs. And they took her to identify the body. And you could just see she keeled over. It was an absolutely devastating sight to see. Certainly a lot of people feeling the same thing here this morning. I don't know that's the right wording. Yeah. I don't think she keeled. Yeah, I don't know if she keeled over. Yeah. But 72 hours is a long time. That's crazy. Wow. Probably appropriate, too. Wow. They're going to keep looking for it. And what do you guys think they do if they find it? Do you think they would kill it or what? Yeah. I think they have to. Absolutely. I don't know how. How would they do that? I don't know. Because those things weigh, you know, tons.
How do you, I mean, maybe, I don't know. Yeah. Is that, somebody tell me, is that by, uh, that spot, Tabletops, is that by, uh, like where Poseidon is on the beach? Where are we talking? I can't really figure it out. I'm trying to get where, you know, kind of location of where that is. I do not, I don't surf. I think it's near the racetrack, like pretty close to that area. And that's where I'm thinking kind of. So anyway. 5701053, we got to get out of here. Beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment so you can call about whatever you want. I'm going to read some headlines off to you. Just real quick, because there's so much stuff that we didn't get to and we're not going to get into them, but I want to read you these headlines because there's a lot of stuff we just didn't get to. Frank Thomas went back to Oakland, started yesterday for the A's. In Chula Vista, a suspect in a bank robbery got arrested after a standoff. The Jets. Traded Dwayne Robertson to Denver for a conditional pick. Let's see. There was a guy jumped to his death from the balcony at a Harris Rincon in Miami. Jason Taylor's on the trading block. That's kind of big news. Let's see. The U.S. said yesterday that North Korea gave Syria nuclear help. That's nuts. And the U.N. is upset because the U.S. didn't hand over the info that we got about it sooner.
Larry Brown resigned as the 76ers executive vice president. Jenna Bush says she's not sure she's going to vote for McCain. That's pretty crazy. Let's see. Oh, in Ohio, a carjacker asked a TV crew for directions. Interesting. Penguins stay warm. Well, they stay warm by the kind of fur that they have, like their feathers or whatever they are. Okay. Well, there was this penguin. It had a bald spot, and so they were going to be real nice to it. They gave it a wetsuit so it can swim. Oh, my gosh. And be warm. That's so sweet. You were shivering. So sweet. Very, very sweet. I love penguins. Let's see. Gary Coleman is going to be on the TV show Divorce Court. Does that mean that he is getting a divorce? Don't know. Right, Scott? We don't know. Well, yeah, they say they want to try and avoid a divorce and are going to go to the judge to try and get some help to make their marriage last. He just wants a little help.
Very interesting things. His new wife complains about Gary's outbursts when he bangs his head against the wall. Also that he refuses to go out with her, instead wanting to stay home and play video games and with his train sets. Gary has a very short temper. Those are legitimate problems in their marriage. Steve-O pleads not guilty to felony possession, says he's been clean 44 days. Carly Smithson, the chick that lives in San Diego, got kicked off American Idol, says no. My tattoo is not of Amy Winehouse. I guess everybody's been asking her that. Even Andrew Lloyd Webber thought that's what it was. She says it's a geisha, and once it gets finished and colored in the face, you'll actually be able to tell. Put some color in your face. Yeah, I'd like to put some color in your face. Tom Cruise is going back on Oprah. Two parts. I will TiVo that. Yes. I will TiVo that. Let's see. 2008 Asian Excellence Awards were handed out this week. Oh, Sean. Congratulations, Sean. That's right. Sean, congratulations. Yay, Sean. Konnichiwa. First recipients. And let's see. Second accident in a week on the set of that new James Bond movie. Because remember they said that that super expensive Aston Martin went over the cliff? What happened now?
Well, so the new movie's Quantum Solace, directed by Mark Forrester, same guy who did Monster's Ball, Stranger Than Fiction, some other movies like that. And then this just happened, I believe it was yesterday, when a stuntman was driving an Alfa Romeo, and it was like a chase scene through windy mountains, and it crashed, and now the guy's in serious condition. Oh, my. Yeah, so in four days, two major accidents on that movie. Oh, wow. Carmen Electra's engaged to who? She just got engaged to former corn guitarist Rob Patterson. They've been dating for less than a year. Unlawful smoking charges dropped against Shia LaBeouf. You remember he got arrested and there was some weed involved. Oh, no, it was cigarettes. He was smoking cigarettes in, like, too close to a business entrance, and so he was ticketed. Is that what it was? Yeah, he was ticketed and had to go to court, and his lawyer was like, yeah, he didn't know he was doing something against the law, and so they're like, okay, we'll give him a free pass. Schwarzenegger's on America's Most Wanted this weekend. What did he do? Wow. I mean, to think that he's actually on America's Most Wanted, he should turn himself in. I mean, what do you think? Well, yeah, but he's so recognizable. How do you think he'd get away with it? No, that's not it. He will be talking about, he'll be at a DNA testing lab in Sacramento. Disgusting. Well, if they know where he is already, why are they even going to make it seem like, oh, he'll be on the lookout? It's part of a story about wanting to collect DNA swabs from criminal...
Felony suspects. Not convicted felons, felony suspects. NBC finally had to issue a statement saying, no, we are not going to have O.J. Simpson on Celebrity Apprentice. We never were, we aren't, and we never will. Because it was like a big rumor out there, and even Donald Trump's been asked by the Today Show and Access Hollywood to say, hey, here's a rumor, is it true? Carrie Underwood says that she's been cheated on, she has OCD, and that she keeps a food diary, and she's never bought a car. Yeah, she still drives the Mustang she won on American Idol. And neither of her legs are real. So she was making a lot of big statements. That is strange. Just letting people know. Okay. We're done. 570-1053 is the number. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, Mikey, what's up? What's up, dude? Hey, I was wondering, would you guys be interested to hear the new generic names that they're looking for for Viagra? Yes, please. The new generic names for Viagra. And I promise. Thank you very much. Oh, my gosh. Totally radio-friendly. How did he think that one was radio-friendly? Well, how did I think it would work? That was crazy. For goodness sake. That's not even clever, by the way. It wasn't even close. It wasn't radio-friendly at all. I mean, out of any word for that male body part, that's the worst one in the book. That's the worst one. By far. Like, dude, that's the one you really can't say.
What's the matter with you? Oh, my God. And then he just says the word pretty much. Oh, willy-nilly. Lynch. Number two. Yeah. You guys ready for number two? Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Hello. Hey, Bureau? It's Mikey. Oh, hey, Mikey. Did you just hear Ashley say disgusting instead of disgusting? It wasn't me. No, that was me. That was Sky. Yes, I heard it. It was hilarious. We'll remember it this weekend. Mikey's show. Hello. Hi, Quimby. Hi, Quimby. What's up, Quimby? Hi, Quimby. I'm really depressed today. Oh, no. I just wanted to share it with you guys. What's the matter? A couple weeks ago, I made a bet with a coworker about, you know, if the Dodgers or the Padres would win the series. So today, I come to work. And I am now forced to wear a Dodgers T-shirt and walk around with a big, giant number one fan finger. Look at you. No way. Quimby, take a picture and send it to us. Take a picture. I'm sorry, Quimby. Sorry about that. I feel like B-Rob having to wear like a Yankees jersey right now. We've made him do it. Sorry, Quimby. Yeah. Have a good weekend, you guys. You too. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, I was wondering if you guys, like regarding that shark,
statistics thing, if they included the people in Arkansas and Arizona in crap, because if you just count the people that live on the coast, your chances of being bit are actually a lot higher. That is true. Your chances of being bitten by a shark in Arkansas are significantly lower. Not impossible. Not impossible. In fact, I was staying at a hotel in Arkansas. It's probably about midnight. And I hear... Oh, yeah. Yeah? No, I'm not stupid. I'm not just going to open the door. Right. So I sat through the door. Who is it? Yeah. And I hear this guy go, it's the room service. And I know, I know, it's probably Great White. Yeah, you didn't order any room service. Exactly. And so I said, I didn't order any room service. And then what do you say? And the shark goes, it's UPS. And I was like, no. You're a great white. Sounds fishy. Sounds fishy. Get it. I said, and so finally. I heard he said telegram. Yeah, he said telegram, and I go, and I said, and then I was actually expecting a telegram. Oh, no. Oh, no. So I said at that point, I said, who is it from? Right. Good call. Oh, there we go. He didn't know anybody I know, and that's how I knew it was a great white out there. Son of a gun. Well played, Mike. Well played.
Played my stuff right that time. Good job. End of the show on Fridays, I give my testimony, which means I tell you a little bit about my history and where I was and where I am today. Basically, from the time that I was, when I was younger, and I mean like when I was a kid, all through my high school years, I was a pretty insecure kid. I didn't have any self-esteem. didn't have any confidence, any self-esteem. And that went in my twenties too, man. I remember sitting, I remember there were times where I would go cause Eddie and I have known each other for a long time. I remember there'd be times where Eddie and I would go out and Eddie would be laughing and having a great time. Cause Eddie is a people person. I'd be that guy. I'd be the guy that was just like, man, get me out of here. And the reason was cause I was so insecure. I was so insecure and I was so self-conscious, always overweight. And when I got to be, um,
A little bit older and in my mid-20s, I got hired by this radio station and I started to lose some weight. And the thing that was really bad was you had this really bad combination of a guy who was really insecure and who was really overweight and who didn't have any self-esteem, who suddenly found himself a little bit popular, losing some weight. and then adding alcohol. And it was a really bad combination for me. So what happened was I ended up drinking all the time. And then eventually I couldn't stop drinking and I was addicted to it. And so I kept how much I drank a secret. Most people that were really, really close to me suspected that there was a problem, knew that there was a problem, sure. But what they didn't know is, you know,
what I was drinking and how much I was drinking and when and all that stuff. I was drinking to the point where I would have to get sick and then I would go right back into the kitchen and I would pour a drink and drink again and get sick. This was like a routine. And on top of that, I couldn't sleep. And so I was taking over-the-counter sleeping pills to go to sleep, which was a pretty bad combination. Now, I mention this. Because there's probably people that are listening right now that even if you're not doing that exact thing that I did, you've got your own system. Maybe your system is that you get up in the morning and you take your kid to school and then you go home and you use drugs in a secret way that nobody knows about. Or maybe your system has something to do with an eating disorder that nobody, which by the way, I've had that too.
which nobody knows about. And the reason that nobody knows is because you're ashamed of it. I was ashamed of it, so I didn't tell anybody. Right now, as I'm telling you this, I am nervous. I'm self-conscious, and I'm nervous. Sometimes when I tell you this stuff, my hands sweat. It's really difficult to tell these things. The reason that I tell you is because there's no way... that I could ever have stopped or that maybe you could stop doing it unless it's out there. If it's a secret, it'll keep going on. So that's why it's important to tell people. If there's somebody in your life that you can tell, it'd be really good if you tell them and they'll probably support you. My friends did. My friends right here in this room, they supported me. But I was laying in bed.
And I knew that I was going to die. I knew it. I knew that if I kept it a secret and I kept doing what I was doing where I was getting sick, my esophagus was starting to burn. And when we were on the air, I would gag. And so that something had to change. And so I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life and change my life. And I'm telling you, man, I felt this very, very warm sensation. And I just felt this presence. And it's never left me. It's still with me today. And my life is so, so different today. It's so different. I have a love with my friends now that is so different. I have a love with my family now that's so different and has become so beautiful. And every single day becomes more and more beautiful. If there's anybody listening right now that has lost a family member, broken up with a boyfriend or broken up with a girlfriend,
is painful. If there's anybody listening right now that God forbid has lost a child or has found out that their child has a problem with their health or you have found out that you have a problem with your health or someone that you love has a problem with their health or if you are new in town and you're experiencing immense loneliness or if you're listening right now and you have one of those addictions that I talked about or an eating disorder. or a secret that no one knows. I want to let you know from personal experience and with the most genuine voice that I could possibly have with the most sincerest of hearts, Jesus Christ rescued me. And he said, you're one of those people and you're experiencing a lack of hope for whatever reason, any reason at all. We play this song at the end of the show on Fridays from a band. of a bunch of really, really, really cool guys, man. These guys are good dudes. The band is called Third Day, and the song is called Tunnel. You've heard me say this a million times whenever I've given you this testimony about my life. You've heard me say it a million times. Listen to the lyrics of the song. And I just want to tell you again, if you've heard it a million times, to really pay attention to the words. And if you've never heard this song before,
Really pay attention to the words because the song is about hope and it's about letting you know that no matter what goes on in your life, something can be different for you. Jesus doesn't have a website, so I can't give you Jesus's website, but I have a website that I've put together so that if you have a problem with any of this stuff, you can figure out a different way for yourself. And if you go to Mikeyshow.com, M-I-K-E-Y-S-H-O-W.com, and you type in the keyword help. H-E-L-P, hit enter. It'll take you to the thing, and you can get all the information that you need, including the name of this album. The song is called Tunnel. It's about hope and knowing that no matter what you're going through, it can get better. Lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. Enjoy your weekend, folks. Today, Missy is going to do Freeform Friday, and we'll see you again on Monday morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out. Thank you.
