Oh, I'm begging you, baby, don't leave me. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh baby, please Oh baby, please Oh baby, please Don't leave
Oh baby, don't leave My baby don't love me no more No, no, no, no She don't love me no more No, no, no, no Oh, baby, please Oh, baby, please
Oh, baby, please don't leave me No, no, no All right, let's do this thing now.
Welcome to Monday, every bubba. It is 6-0-7. The family of the Solana Beach shark attack victim spoke publicly for the first time yesterday and said that David Martin died doing what he liked. With their first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers select cornerback Antoine Kaysen. Well, it's a good thing that we will have either A.J. Smith or Norv Turner on later to discuss that. Yeah, we're working on getting them on, and that should be cool.
I couldn't wait to get in here so that I could ask Eddie what he thinks about this pick. What do you think, Eddie? Is it good? I love the pick. I absolutely love Antoine Kaysen. He's just a great kid. It's the tradition of the Chargers lately to get these high-character guys in the locker room, and that's exactly what this kid is. Really good character, really good kid. He's not going to come in here and cause any trouble. He's not a thug. He's just a good kid who loves football, and he's only going to get better, and he's already real good.
Awesome. So it's a really good pick. The rest of the draft picks. Oh, no. Uh-oh. Oh, no. Eddie, that doesn't look good. Yesterday was not a great day, in my opinion, for the Chargers draft. I got a little tinge of Bobby Beathard when A.J. Smith traded next year's second round pick to move into the third round. Didn't like that. And the guy they chose, to me, wasn't worth the pick. Is he the fullback?
Yeah, from LSU. Yeah, the stuff I was reading, it looks like he's kind of little. Well, I mean, framed. Like he's a small guy for a fullback, it looked like. Well, I don't think they're going to utilize him as a fullback. I think he's going to try and back up LT. Really? Yeah. Talk to me. What was your thoughts? Well, they didn't have a number two pick. They didn't have a number three pick. They didn't have a lot of draft picks. So AJ, he wanted to wheel and deal. He wanted to move up and get more draft picks, which I totally commend him for doing that. But for this guy, this particular guy, I don't think the price was worth it.
I don't like trading away the future draft picks. I've never been a fan of that. Bobby Beathard did that for many years here. I always thought it kind of mortgages your future. But, you know, I mean, AJ wants to win now, which I agree with. And he says, you know what, this guy's going to help our team. And, you know, they decided to pull the trigger. And with the rest of their picks, guys, to me, they drafted another running back that wasn't very high on my list. And then, you know, they drafted another cornerback, which I think there were other positions that I think they needed to fill.
They got their cornerback with the first pick. And then all week long we heard about how A.J. really wanted to get an offensive lineman, really wanted to get a tackle. Now, there weren't any in the first round because there was a run on tackles. So, you know, there was like six or seven gone by the time the Chargers picked. And, you know, I felt that there could have been some guys that were good enough to pick in the mid-rounds, but he waited until the seventh round to finally get a tackle. You got a tackle in the seventh round? Yeah, which, you know, that doesn't usually bode well for guys. So, I don't know.
I wasn't impressed with yesterday's draft picks, but, you know, you just never know. It's a crapshoot. These guys could have turned out to be studs. Look at Tom Brady. Tom Brady was a sixth-round draft pick. Yeah. You know, so you just never know. Well, I can't wait to see how this all pans out. And here we are. It's April. It's the end of April. We're going to be going into May. These kids are going to be getting together pretty soon, getting out on the field. I can't believe it. Can any camp start real soon? So there are seven people on the show. Let me go around and introduce everybody, and then we'll get started.
I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show, and I am 37 years old, and I have a story to tell you guys. Well, I got a couple. I actually have two very interesting things to tell you about. Eddie is 35. He's our producer, our sports guy. I've watched the draft with Eddie for years. We didn't get to watch a draft together this year. That was weird, man. It was really strange to not watch the draft with him. And when it started, when the draft started and I was watching it, I had a friend of mine over, and we were sitting there watching it, and I thought to myself, it's so strange to not be sitting in that room right now.
We're always at Radio City. We're in New York. Eddie and I are in New York at the draft. Yeah, I had a hint of sadness when the draft started. I was doing the broadcast, which was fun and all that stuff, But not being in that atmosphere, those crazy Jet fans and Eagle fans. Just the fun of looking over and you could see Chris Berman right there. It just was different. There was a point about three hours into the draft or something where I thought, right about now, I would be asking Eddie if he wanted anything from concessions. And we would be trying to figure out, okay, so what are we going to do for dinner tonight?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, where are we going to go? Yeah. And it's fun, you know. And I didn't realize how much I missed it until this weekend when we weren't there. Yeah. Sky is our news girl. She's 30 years old. And she has not melted. It was a hot weekend. But she's here. It's a warm one. I barely made it. It's a warm one. It's a toughie. Real quickly, let's introduce everybody. Sean is our sound effects guy. He's 38 years old. Ashley is our assistant producer, and she is 24 years old. Boston Rob, 25 years old, engaged to be married.
He screens phone calls. The Riz. Be Rizzle. Boston Rob, he's a phone screener, singer-songwriter, courthouse goer. And then Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates III, Esquire, Jr., is our everything guy. - I brought the camera by the way. - All right. - So we can take a picture of Rob's lack of a goatee and put it on our website. So, a couple of things. First of all, Friday, I believe, this Friday, I believe I'm going to be flying in the Red Bull plane.
Oh, yeah. What are you talking about? What Red Bull plane? You know the Red Bull air races? Yeah. Yeah. You know them, right? Yeah. Acrobatics airplanes. Yeah, they're crazy. Yeah, they go every year. They will put a DJ in them and let them go for a ride and videotape it. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. And videotape it and allow us to put it on our website. You're a nut. With audio. Yeah, Rebecca goes, you know, very seriously. Like, is that a good idea, you think? Is that a good idea?
Yeah, Mr. Guy who gets motion sickness playing a video game. No, yeah, I do. Yeah. I do, I do, but I don't get car sickness and I don't get sick in planes. Wow. He's a daredevil. I can't believe you're doing that. They go, like, so fast. Yeah, I know. That's crazy. I'm going to tell them to go, like, 20 miles an hour, though. No, I hear they're like 30, 40 miles. No loops. No loops, dude. Oh, my gosh. Can we just go real slow and just take a look at the ocean? That's crazy.
So that's coming up. That'll be on Friday, I believe. So let me tell you this story. Eddie, you are going to get a kick out of this, man. I'm nervous. And the rest of you are going to go, Mike. So on Friday, I go be to this celebrity waiter charity event that's happening at Balboa Park. And there is, like, first of all, I'm not a celebrity. There was actual celebrities there.
And I mean, like, local celebrities. There was, like, football players and stuff. And I was like, whoa, you know, and I'm, like, all nervous because they're big stars. And I talked to the new guy that they just brought, Derek Smith, that they just brought in from San Francisco, new Charger. Talked to a really nice guy, Matt Wilhelm, who's linebacker for him now. Had a kid that's six weeks old, and we were talking like teething stuff. And so here's what they do.
They put you in this giant ballroom, right? And there are all of these round tables set up throughout the ballroom. And I mean like 60 tables set up in this ballroom. And you're assigned to a table. There's about that many celebrity volunteers. And so you strap on an apron. You're assigned to a table. You go to the table and your job is to get money out of these people in whatever way you can. Let me get you a Coke.
Let me get you a, you know, do you need anything? Can I, hey, let me sing for you. Let me do all this, you know, and you know me, I'm kind of shy in person, but I'm like, hey, I'll do it. I can do this. Well, another thing that they suggest to you is don't be afraid to use other people here. You know, like one guy came over and said, Luis Castillo walks up to me and he says, there's a listener of yours at table 52 that really wants to meet you. And what you're, what you are encouraged to do is sell them a picture with you or sell them your autograph or, you know, sell them stuff.
Everything's money, money, money. You got to ask for money, which is difficult for me to do. I don't like asking people for stuff for money. I can ask people for stuff, but I don't like asking for money. Sounds like my kind of thing. All right, Sean. How much did you get to keep? Yes. Money, money, money. For charity, please. Don't forget it. So we're at this. So I go over to this table, the table I'm assigned to, and it's all these young women. And they are in the marketing and sales department at Cox Communications, and they're all really nice. And one of them gets up, goes to the restroom, and when she does, her girlfriends at the table say, hey, it's her birthday today.
We want you to sing her happy birthday. Now, I don't really know, like, how to, I don't know whether I'm, because it's the first time I've ever done it. So I don't know if I'm supposed to say, okay, it's going to cost you. And what does that cost? Like, I don't know. Like, $20 or, you know, okay, sure, we'll do it. That'll be $8,000, please. I don't know what to say. But that's not even the story. I just go, okay. And I said, I'll tell you, because I want to make it even bigger and better. I said, I'm going to go get somebody to do it with me, right? So I'm looking around the room, and I'm looking at all the different people,
and I'm like, Justin Germano was there. Oh, wow. San Diego Padres. So I go up to him, and he's busy. But I say, hey, man, is it cool if you come over to this table with me that I'm working and sing happy birthday to this girl? It's her birthday. He goes, yeah, man, no problem. But he's still busy. And so I'm kind of waiting. And then that nervousness is going off in me like, man, I've been away a long time. And I'm hoping that they don't feel like I'm ignoring them because I'm looking around and everybody else is very attentive to their tables. So I'm wanting to be attentive at the same time I'm trying to do a thing here.
So finally he kind of wraps up We walk over together And I'm all excited Because I got a star here right Guys Leora I heard it's your birthday We're going to sing you happy birthday And guess what I got here I got a San Diego Padre Justin Germano here And we're going to sing you happy Hey dude actually it's Heath Bell but that's cool Oh dude You're kidding right Oh dude Oh, my gosh. Oh.
Oh, no. To die. I wanted. Oh, I want to die. I wanted to die. I wanted to die. And I just want to know where Justin Germano was. How did you do that? Oh, no, Eddie, don't. Eddie, Eddie, no. I've thought about this, okay? Obviously, I put a lot of thought into it at the moment. How did you just do that? the whole drive the whole drive home well I'm sure you've replayed what happened over and over in your head
I have absolutely no explanation why did you assume that Heath Bell was Germano? I've asked myself this question many many times it's a good question you're an intelligent man you're an intelligent person you know Um, you know, what, what, what, what, why, how, who, I don't know. All I know is that in my mind, oh, that's Justin Germano. Wow.
I got to get him. He's a, he's a big name. No. Not as big as Heath Bell. No. No. I'm like, and then all I can do is go, dude, I'm like in his ear. Dude, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, dude. I'm so sorry, bro. No. Oh, man. To make matters worse. No, it can't work. It can't get worse. No, it can't get worse. It would be impossible to get worse. Before we went out there, we all ate together. Him and I, Heath Bell, ate together.
Of course he did. Of course he did. Oh, no. Oh, no. Wires got crossed. Oh, well, you know. Somewhere in the process. It happens. Wires got crossed. It was, oh, boy, that was embarrassing. Embarrassing. And then he was gracious enough to sing happy birthday. Oh, no. He should have walked away. And the one, and the two. Yes. Wow. Oh, so embarrassing. So embarrassing.
that is brutal oh so anyway that was uh you're in on the shorts that's uh oh well yeah so anyway our phone number is 5701 eddie i know it why did i think he was justin germano and what's great i mean if you know these two players i don't They look so different. He felt this massive man, goatee, bearded, just giant, massive man.
And Jermano's kind of lanky. And so he must have been thinking like, dude, we don't even look close to that. Oh, my gosh. It was so weird, man. It was so weird. Yeah, and I'm sitting at the table, I'm sitting at the table eating, and right across from me, sitting directly across from me is Sandy Alderson, and he hadn't put his name tag on, so I didn't recognize, he's the CEO of the Padres, and I hadn't met him, I hadn't seen him, so when he sat down, I was like, oh, there's a handsome older guy, and he sits
down, and he says, hi, it's nice to meet you, I'm Sandy, I said, hi, I'm Mikey, I forget people's names and he turned out to be a really nice guy and sitting directly to his left my right was heath bell well wait you said there were name tags yeah so was he fell where Were you wearing a name tag? I have no idea, honestly. Honestly, I have no idea. Like, when you just asked that, I was like... Were you wearing a name tag? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I don't know how...
It's almost like, you know how in a dream, something's real weird, but it makes sense? Yes, yes. That was Justin Germano. I don't know why. I don't know any of this. I have no idea why. Hey, you guys, we're going to sing you happy birthday, and I got San Diego Padre Justin Germano here with me, and so we're going to do... Just stop, please. Actually, dude, it's Heath Bell, but that's cool, but that's cool. He goes, but that's cool. I don't know anything. And it was in that voice that, you know, because there's two ways of saying that. Yeah, right. There's one way of saying that that says, that's hysterical that you just did that. There's another way of saying it that's like, hmm, I don't know how I feel about that.
But anyway, my name is. Right. That's the one I got. Which one was it? That's the one I got. Yeah, the latter is the one I got. The one I like. That was the first one, right? Yeah, I got the one that said, I'm not Justin Germano. Uh-oh, Mike. I'm Heath Bell. Yeah. You know the guy that probably is going to go to the All-Star game this year? Oh, man. That guy. Oh, man. That's me. That's me. Why? How? Did you happen to ask Sandy Allerston for a power hitter? Oh, man.
Because I would have. Oh, man. Holy cow. Wow. Because the good news is you're fired. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you very, very much. Oh, my gosh. Would we like to take guesses on how many rounds of the draft Eddie consumed? There's seven rounds, and they take hours. Seven rounds. I will say six and three quarters. I will say it was a busier year, six. Anybody else got any guesses?
I'll say five, Mike. There's rounds. I don't know. I actually did another round. Eddie? I watched every round but the seventh round. And the only reason I didn't watch the seventh round is because I had to go somewhere. Where'd you go? I T-vote it, and I'll watch it later. What did you end up doing? I don't want to talk about it. No, you can't say that. Come on, what's up with that? It can't be worse than Heath Bell. That is close. That's close. It was humiliating. I had to go to a...
You be quiet. Oh, no. Oh, no. I didn't say a thing. I didn't say a thing. I didn't say a thing. What did you do? Not a peep. I didn't say a thing. I had to go. Wait, wait, wait. Skye, close your eyes. Close your eyes so that this doesn't get a reaction. There you go. Now your mouth, too, because if he sees that grin, you're grinning. Okay. Go ahead. She's hiding. She's hiding. Go ahead, Eddie. I had to go. You can't see her reaction, Eddie. Yesterday. Yeah. To a couple's baby shower. Skye.
Oh, wow. Look at Skye. So happy. Skye just. So happy. Skye. And I bet he had a blast. I bet he had a blast. I bet he had a blast. He's getting his computer back. Stay down, Eddie. He's getting his computer back. Don't do it, Eddie. I bet he had a blast. I left the draft. Easy. That was a good time, though, huh? It's crazy, but you just calm down. Good times? A couple's baby shower? It's crazy. First time we met? Wait a second. Wait a second. Well, see, I think my thoughts are you've rejected in theory. But once you're there and you're hanging out with the dudes and you're eating the snacks. Oh, Eddie just did the face of like, oh, no, that was not.
Hey, listen, you know, this was. Look at his face. My wife's cousin, who I adore, I think she's really cool and her husband's cool. And they decided that they wanted to have a couple's baby shower. Nice. So what am I supposed to do? Right, you're not going to be a jerk. I have to go. You're not going to be a jerk. I had to go. Oh, my gosh, honey. The first part was fine. I was like, oh, this is just like a barbecue. Exactly. There was nothing to be had. I was having an okay time. It was ridiculously hot. Yeah.
Other than that. Where was it? The food was good. It was over, like, in the college alcohol area. Really hot. Hot. Ridiculously hot. Yeah. And then they go, let's play a game. Woo! No, you didn't. No. What games did you get to play? Oh, Eddie just mouthed something we can't have broadcast. Did you do that toilet paper game? I moved back, and I'm like, no, nobody will see me. I'm not going to participate. I'm a man. You're a man. I don't do this kind of stuff. But no.
Where's Eddie? Get that rascal up here. You see that. Front and center. He loves this kind of stuff, right? Oh, no. Damn it. Yeah. So I had to participate in two games. Which ones? The first game was there were 10 diapers. No, no, no. I love it already. And in the diapers, they melted candy bars. Yes. And I had to write down what candy bar was in each diaper. Yep.
That's a good one. And I was like, I know one of these diapers has poop in it. Oh, come on. And so, like, this isn't funny. Like, I'm never going to be able to eat a Snickers again. So that sucked. Yeah. But I came in second. Good job. Thanks. Thank you. Not bad. And then. I'm speechless right now. I so badly wished I was Mike and could be an alcoholic. Why? What does that mean? Because he would have had an out. He would have had an out.
Oh, okay. Because then they had us. doing chugging beer out of baby bottles, whoever can finish it the fastest. So I'm holding a baby bottle. I've never heard of that one. That's not true. I've never heard of that one. That is not... I'm sucking on a baby bottle mic with beer. I hope there are pictures. Hold on. There is. Is there pictures in there? There is. I'm not going to put them on the website. I beg you. I beg you. I beg you. I beg you. I'm humiliated. I'm Heath Bell.
Oh, dude, it was awful. Dude. This is too much to wrap my head around. I can't. This is rad. You'd have to know Eddie. I mean, he's so, and the P1s have been listening for a while. You know Eddie. That ain't Eddie. That ain't Eddie. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We talked about how much they hate it. It's awesome. Dude, not my thing, man. Eddie, were any of these other guys kind of feeling that, or were they all into it? Um, I didn't hear any complaints. Like, these guys got up there and they were all, you know, and the crowd's yelling out, don't bite the nipple.
Oh, wow. Don't bite the nipple. You know, I guess they cheat and like, shut up. I'm like, what's going on right now? And then my nipple on the baby bottle has like no hole. So I'm like sucking on it and nothing's coming out. I'm like, this is, please help me. It's a nightmare for 50,000 reasons. It was hot. I wanted the beer. But, oh. Dude. Gosh, to be a fly on the wall. No way. I am so surprised that you didn't get the guys together and, like, plan a escape and
be like, all right, guys, listen, it has to be done. Seriously? No, I think that the guy who was baby it is, I think that was his idea, like, his game. So, you know, like, his... That's not a bad idea. His bros and stuff, you know, they were all into it. Oh, Shawnee. But Shawnee's baby food. Seriously, in terms of, like, shut up. In terms of a baby shower, I mean, that game isn't too bad. Like, the whole diaper thing and the eating the candy bars and all that, that's really, like, gross and kind of lame. But chugging beer, I mean, that's all right. That's not bad. Shawnee, have you ever been to one of these?
No. Out of a baby bottle, Sean? I know. It's not that great. Baby bottle? But in the context of it, it's not that bad. Eddie was drinking from a baby bottle, Sean. If you want me to do a beer bong or whatever, I'm in. A beer bong. Cake stand, I'll do it. I don't care. Baby bottle, no. Not my thing. 5701053 is the phone number. I did it, though. Wow. Man, this is an awesome morning. P1, tell everybody what a P1 is. P1 is an inclusive Mikey listener, someone that gets to the point, doesn't swear, and enjoys your company. That is great, man.
That is it, dude. That is a P1. That is a P1. What were you calling about? I was actually calling to find out how much your embarrassment was worth. Oh, dude, you know what they did? They handed me each, you know, I would say that there were probably six or seven girls at that table. And each one of them handed me like, it was all singles. So each girl handed me like seven, eight bucks in singles. And I was just putting it all in this apron I had on as a waiter.
And did Keith get anything out of it, too? Yeah, yeah. I think that he was able to sell his autograph because he's very famous. Yeah, well, that makes sense. And I didn't even know him. Yeah, well, yeah. Most San Diegans do. I believe he's in commercials. Yes, most San Diegans do not say, this is Justin Germano. They know that he's Heath Bell. So, anyway. P1S go. - Hey, good morning, Mikey Show.
- What's up, dude? - Hey, all right, so I was in, me and my wife were out in San Marcos over the weekend, having dinner, and we saw you. - Sweet. - We saw you, but we did it for about a half an hour. Should we go over? we say hi, and we decided that it might be rude, but I don't know what your thoughts are on this. It would not be rude. It wouldn't be rude at all, and I absolutely 100% wish that you would have, and, you know, I mean, the only time it's rude is if somebody's rude. You know, if somebody comes over and says, hey, I just want to let you know I don't like your show and blah, blah, blah,
That would hurt because I'm there with my family or whatever. But I 100% absolutely would love, love, love for people to do that. Okay. You know, first of all, it makes me feel good. And second of all, yeah, it's just a neat feeling. And I like to be able to meet people. And I wouldn't have any problem with that at all. Awesome. All right. Well, if I get lucky enough to see you again. Were you at Cocina del Charo? Yes.
That's good food, huh? Yeah, we went to Acapulco and we walked over to the coffee shop and you were just sitting right there at the window. Oh, right on. We were so nervous. I have, like, nerves like butter. Oh, you should have come and said hi, dude. Seriously, you really should have. Hey, did you eat at Cocina del Charo? You said you ate at Acapulco. No, we ate at Acapulco at the time. Okay, gotcha. All right, dude, thanks for the call. Cool, thank you. 570-1053 is our phone number, and so give us a call. I can't get this bottle with beer out of my mind. 570-1053 is our phone number.
You can text us, too. 35253 is our text number. Don't forget, tomorrow is the Iron Man fashion show. Yeah. And so, the person that's got the coolest Iron Man costume, you have to make your own. The person that makes the coolest Iron Man costume and comes down here tomorrow morning is going to win tickets to the premiere in San Diego tomorrow night. But you're also going to get a limo ride from La Costa Limousine up to Los Angeles and get to see it up there, too, with the stars of the movie that are going to be there at the premiere in L.A. That's rad.
Eddie's working on getting A.J. Smith or Norv Turner on the phone this morning. Talk about the draft. And Boss and Rob did a Whatcha Doing at the Courthouse. Coming up next, got a lot of stuff. Some great audio for you. A little bit later on, I'm going to give you audio of a seven-year-old that took a car and went on a drive. Said that he did it. This is a direct quote. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We've got a tough one on the 805 North Mountain here coming out of the South Bay, backing up approaching Market Street, and that's a slow crawl all the way up over the 8 Freeway. There was an earlier car fire here that was blocking that. Well, it's in the right-hand shoulder, but fire crews are blocking the slow lane still. Just past Murray Ridge, and that's why you're seeing that heavy bag up there. They've got it on a tow, about to get it out of the way, and hopefully we'll see some relief here soon. But in the meantime, it's quite a mess out of the South Bay here on this 805 northbound as you try to work your way up into Kearney Mesa. Also in the heavy back up on the South 125 here, a rollover accident blocking the fast lane, fast Lemon Avenue. Has you in single digits, bumper to bumper, barely moving, coming off the 8 freeway.
So give yourself some extra time there. On the North 125, you're going to find some looky-loose sawing on that side as well. South 15 backed up from the 78 to Villa Rancho Parkway out of Escondido. And the coaster rides picking up more brake lights. South 5 out of Lucadia now in the Solana Beach. I'm McLaurence on Rock 105.3. Wow. Was this weekend crazy hot or what? It was ridiculous. Holy moly. Absolutely ridiculous. And I hit the pool for the first time this year. Oh, did you? Freezing. Holy cow. Yeah. But it was worth it. I didn't care.

Sheboygan Uh-huh Rock 105.3 Bring it He used to be the fresh prince of Bel-Air Yes Oh, Will Smith West Philadelphia, born and raised And there it is Welcome back It's 6.44. Miley Cyrus has issued a statement saying that she's embarrassed by pictures from her new Vanity Fair photo shoot. Our two local quarterbacks got drafted yesterday.
San Diego State's Kevin O'Connell went to New England, and USD's Josh Johnson went to Tampa Bay. Mikey, confusing Heath Bell for Justin Germano. Very embarrassing, very awkward, signed P1 Michael Scott. Our text number is 35253. That is a very Michael Scott moment. For sure. Oh, I was Michael Scott. Eddie's working on getting A.J. Smith or North Turner on the show. Going to be doing what you're doing at the courthouse coming up here in just a bit.
Hey, Mike, you love the show. It's too bad you hate me. Signed, Heath Bell. so uh yeah our text number is 35253 if you want to send us a text like that if you're not a member of the uh p1 text army get in it just by texting the word mikey to 35253 and then you'll be all dialed in we'd love to get those text messages coming through in the morning uh just another way to interact my dad wants to get on uh facebook and uh all of these you know he's yeah he's finding out about them and he thinks that they're extraordinary he thinks that they're really
yesterday he learned about Wikipedia that's so great and he just couldn't believe that you can go on the computer and find out about anything you know he's interested in the Mayan civilization and he is you're telling me I can type in Mayan and it will have how does it know dad I don't know how it knows it does though there's stuff there you should check it out can you write down the name of that website? You know, for us, it's like, well, that is Wikipedia.
Okay, I'll write it down for you. Okay, so there was a shark attack on Friday. Right as we were, you know, it was about halfway through the show, we got a call from a guy who was on his way down to the beach. Was that the deal you guys on? I think he had just arrived at the beach. He just got there. Yeah. And the attack had just happened. We had dinner with our friend Wendy. That's who we were with at Casino del Charo on Saturday night. Rebecca and I had dinner with her, and her buddy was in the water. Wow.
In that group. Oh, my gosh. Her buddy was in that group of nine and went out there, and one of the people that grabbed him and pulled him back on the shore. Oh, my gosh. Wow. And I said, you know what's the most amazing thing about that to me is that we know what happens when you're in the ocean and there's blood in the water. And so it's kind of brave to be like, and maybe it's an instinct or a reflex that it's your friend, you're going to, you know, you don't even think about it, you just react to it, but it's scary, you know, and it's brave that they did it.
For sure. But she said that, you know, she witnessed it and he came up out of the water, came all the way up out of the water. The shark? The guy. The victim. You know, I guess because when the sharks come, They come from underneath, kind of like when you see in videos of seals being thrown out of the water. Yeah. This is the professor of oceanography at Scripps Institution. Cut 60. I would say from my examination of the wounds on the victim and also the narrative that I got about how the attack happened, But this almost certainly was a great white shark.
It was typical great white shark behavior to attack from below, make a bite, and then draw away. North County Times said that the shark was like between, it could have been up to 15 feet long. Up to 16 feet, yeah. Leave it to the North County Times to not have it. Well, everybody's saying different between 12 and 16, between 14 and 16, but basically the high end I've heard is 16. My dad wants to know what Wikipedia said. Oh, well, check it out.
Up to 16 feet. That is big. Yeah. Scary. That is big, man. This is the victim's son, Jeff Martin, cut 61. He had retired four or five years ago, and he was really just kind of tapping into the golden years. He was really enjoying the triathlon. He was enjoying the swimming, the biking. He was traveling to Baja. He was traveling to Seattle. It was so difficult also because of exactly where it happened. That is a, we go down to those steps. We've been going there since I was three years old. And not only all of his children here, but his grandchildren all spend a lot of time in those very waters today. As a Christian family, we believe that our dad is in heaven and that we will see him again one day.
Amen. We appreciate your continued prayers and support. Wow. That's sad, man. That's sad. I mean, what a strange thing to have happen where it happened. And it made worldwide news. Oh, yeah. Larry King was covering it Friday night. It was all over CNN. I mean, what a huge story. And it's so crazy for a lot of different reasons. I mean, number one, it's crazy because we just don't have this happen in – it doesn't happen right off the shores all that often anywhere,
let alone San Diego, and then for it to be a great white shark, which is everybody's scariest shark, and for it to happen and go down the way that it did was really, you know, the odds of it are nuts. Yeah, so eight miles of beaches were closed. I mean, they weren't, you know, they can't prevent people from going in the water, but they had signs posted saying, hey, you know, if you go out there, we're not going to come help you, you know, because it's just too dangerous out there right now. But they say there were dozens of surfers out there this weekend. Come on. And one of them was Jeff Martin, the son of the victim, David Martin. He was out there on Saturday surfing.
Wow. Oh, my gosh. Talk to me. What's going on? What is, you know, because everybody that just heard that, most of us are probably going, well, why? Yeah. Is it like a thing of going, you know, my joy will not be taken away from me and I'm going to get in the water? Yeah, he said that this is what his father would have wanted him to do. Really? You know, that's their spot. That's where they've been all their lives. And, yeah. Well, and what tripped me out is so they closed like eight miles of shoreline from Torrey Pines up to Carlsbad. But then I was reading the Union Tribune this weekend.
Of course, they have all these stats about Great Whites. And they say Great Whites can go about 48 miles per hour at their top speed. Wow! So what good is closing eight miles? I mean, that thing could be anywhere. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, so... Shouldn't they close, like... The world? Yeah, the world. So they were searching with helicopters and boats, but there were no sightings of the shark. Yeah, pretty crazy. I think 48 miles, that's nuts. Yeah. Is there anything, is there any of us here on the show that would have got in the water this weekend? I never will again.
I never did, period, for this reason. I'm, like, petrified of the ocean for this reason. Yeah, I, every time I've been in the ocean, I've enjoyed it. Like I like being, you know, once you can get me in there and it doesn't happen very often, it happened on our vacation in Maui, which there's shark attacks there, by the way, different kinds, they usually say it's like Mako sharks and that kind of deal out there or whatever, I don't know, but I enjoy it when I'm actually in the water, I enjoy it but i'm telling you that's scary man just that fear is too much it's too scary no way what about you oats you're a young guy it's hard to say i think like this past weekend i wouldn't have but
i i don't really have a problem with it it's kind of those struck by lightning type of things where it's like yeah it'll happen but what are you not going to go outside for the rest of your life well Well, the beach is reopened in 10 minutes, Seth. Do they really? Get them down there. 7 o'clock this morning. Hey, let me tell you. Let me tell you. The odds are in your favor. Yeah. The odds are very in your favor that nothing, you know. Yeah, they say you're more likely to die in a car crash on your way to the beach than, you know, to be killed by a shark at the beach. Mm-mm-mm. P1 Justin. Morning, Mikey Show.
What's going on, dude? I almost called you Heath, Justin. It was really strange. What's that? Never mind. Never mind. I'm a dodo. That's all. Go ahead. Go ahead, man. So, I went surfing this weekend, Manhattan Beach, a lot of... talk about uh about the shark attack out even guys out in the water talking about it um pretty much there's two types of people out there people that are afraid to go in the water that's me okay and people that go to the water every weekend go surfing go swimming and go out there and take that risk question shoot it isn't it different when a great white shark has just attacked and
killed someone rather than last weekend when there was no great white shark attack with a fatality and you were like yeah i know they're there but you could have given me all these statistics about odds you know that kind of deal it doesn't change it for you that someone just got attacked same thing sky was just saying about the car crash i just got off the 15 freeway and i've seen numerous crashes drunk drivers at seven in the morning cars flipped over because people on their cell phone like me right now you know all this morning see i guess here's the difference in my mind the driving on the freeway is something that we all do we don't all surf
we don't all get in the water we don't all get in the water if i did get in the water it would be different for me and the reason is because when i'm in the car there's not this psychological thing that goes you could be eaten see that's what's that's what is the deal with driving you don't it doesn't have such a terrifying conclusion you know in the worst case scenario whereas a shark attack is just so psychologically scary you see your surroundings when you're driving you don't know what's coming up from the depths of the ocean see that's the
deal. When there's a shark attack, it's the shark versus you. But when you're out on the road, it's not like there's a, it's not like somebody's trying to get you. That's what the shark is doing. It thinks that you're something different, and it's trying to get you. Which is a little gnarlier. It's definitely a risk. I don't go out there and I don't think hey, I'm not going to get attacked by a shark. There is that possibility. But there's also a million other things in the water. You've got to worry about jellyfish. The water's getting warmer this summer,
so you've got to worry about... There's another reason I don't go in the ocean. Yeah, that too. Actually, if y'all bitten by a stingray, I have just the cure. Hey. 35253 is our text number. So if you want to text us, do that. Our number's 5701053. When we come back, we're going to do something called Whatcha Doing at the Courthouse. Oh, whatcha doing? And what that is, is Boston And Rob's standing out in front of the courthouse with a recorder. And as people come in, he says, what you doing at the courthouse? In Encinitas, a high school principal has been arrested for molesting a student.
I will tell you what school that is when we come back. What's a P1? P1 is someone that turns down their radio, they get to the point, they don't cuss, and they listen to The Mikey Show exclusively. He was a fast-talking mouse who told wild stories about inexpensive cable and exotic cheeses. Now, every mouse in the Tri-County area was taken in by his tall tails. Every mouse but one. I've been to the city, said the country mouse. The cable might seem inexpensive, but you end up paying aged Parmesan prices for mild cheddar cheese, squeaked the country mouse. Hit the brakes, pal. Arrow.

All right. You're the best. Let's just help. That's my answer. The actual actor's name, but I need the character's name. No, it was not tattooed. It was not tattooed. I don't know. It's only tattooed. Mikey, Mikey. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Welcome back.
It's the Mikey Show. It's 7.05. A fire that broke out yesterday in Sereno Valley burned over 100 acres. Okay. The Padres, they do absolutely nothing for JPV. And they lose the Diamondbacks 2-1 yesterday They're not very good right now This was the pitching matchup Of probably the decade It was pretty awesome Jake Peavy vs Brandon Webb Last two Cy Young Award winners Jake Peavy made one mistake He gave up a two run home run
That's the only mistake he made the entire game And he figured at some point You're going to be able to get to Brandon Webb No So they give him no runs, or they give him one run. But I'm like, come on. Come on, deflating for Jake Peavy. You know, he's got to be like, can you guys just please? Literally have to throw a shutout, or you're not going to win if you're a Padres pitcher. A shutout. Every game. He should say, listen, I'll take you guys to Olive Garden. You can order whatever you want.
You guys can get whatever you want. Like, get Tour of Italy. Get Tour of Italy if you want. All the breadsticks you can eat. Wait, you realize how expensive it's worth it? I know. It's a lot. Like, and I know it costs a lot. It's like the most expensive thing on the Olive Garden menu. But, you guys, if you give me some runs, I'll take us to Olive Garden. Yum. I'll do it. Wow. I'll do it. That's terrible. Yeah. Mikey, I surfed four times this weekend, including Friday night. Oh, I can't even imagine doing it at night. Are you kidding me? No, that's like the worst time. Why, because you wanted it to turn into a nightmare?
Is that what you're doing? The waves were super small. Nobody had to paddle out more than 30 yards. Mikey, do not go in 30 feet deep water. Well, they say that most shark attacks happen in just a couple of feet of water. So I don't think that has much to do with it. Mikey, maybe this man wants to be closer to where his father died. His sadness overcomes his fear. Sign P1 Andy. Could be. You never know. That's what I'm saying. You're a man than I.
It could be anything. So, Skye, what is the deal? What school is this where this high school principal was arrested for messing around with a student? It's Pacifica Academy, which is a private high school in Encinitas. And basically on Friday, the principal of that school was arrested on suspicion of molesting a student. Now, the principal was on leave from Pacifica Academy at the time of his arrest on Friday. And he was on leave on suspicion of inappropriately touching a teen during a study session. But besides that, we don't really know the victim's gender or age.
And obviously, you know, they're still investigating. So, try to hear more about it. Yeah, definitely. The people in cases you are about to hear are real. There it is. The person interviewing them is real. Stupid. It's time for What You're Doing at the Courthouse. Rob, they probably didn't recognize you at the courthouse with that new, you know, facial hair. They're probably like... Well, criminals do that. They change their features. Like a disguise. That's a good point. I'm going to adapt. So Rob went to the courthouse. And what we do is we send Rob down there.
He's very familiar with it. He's been there a few times, right, Rob? Yeah. Knows the surroundings. That's right. But his commitment has now paid off. He's done his stuff. Very excited. But anyway, so he goes to the courthouse, and as people are walking in, he says, what you doing at the courthouse? And the reason that we do it is because there are some characters, man. We've got some crazy characters. In fact, we've said half of them, we think, if they could only be like a regular contributor on the phone, you know? Rob is saying, maybe not so much. Maybe not so much.
There was a guy out there that was getting signatures this time. Yeah. Now, not all the time am I talking to people actually going into court. Like, for instance, this time, there was some Greenpeace, like, not protesters, but they were trying to gain signatures to stop Kleenex production. So they were hanging around there, so I decided to rap with them. I haven't heard from them in a long time. Like, I haven't heard the words Greenpeace in so long. I thought it was Peter. Well, coleslaw is murder, you know? Would you eat your dog or would you eat your cat?
You know, that's a thing. Give me a break with that. They tasted good, yeah. So here's Rob talking to the Greenpeace guy. What you doing up the courthouse? I'm working for Greenpeace. We're out here talking to people about Kimberly Clark, the largest tissue manufacturer in the world. Well, of course. We all know that. Who is it? Did you even have to explain who? You didn't have to say that. Who everybody knows. Kimberly Snark is. Of course we know who that is. We know Kelly Clarkson. That's right. We're familiar with her from her work on American Idol. How old, Rob?
Uh, no, this guy was young. I'd say about 1920. Oh. Wow. Yeah. They make Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle, Viva, Kotex. Now, what are you trying to do? Are you trying to stop Kleenexes from being made? Well, we're trying to get them to resort to recycled fiber and make it to where Kleenex doesn't take 90 years to grow one box. Now, you guys are the guys that like... Is that true? It takes 90 years to grow a box of Kleenex? Well, some 19-year-old guy in front of the courthouse said it. That's true. It is true. I believe it. Throw blood on people that are wearing fur and all that, right?
What's your take on Pam Anderson recently seen eating a hot dog? It has nothing to do with anything. No, nothing at all. It has nothing to do with anything. But what are you talking about? Hey, but what do you think about that? It's not PETA. That's not PETA. Yeah, they are. Are they PETA? No. Subdivision. No, they are not. Subdivision. It's like Dr. Pepper is the Coca-Cola. Yeah. Green Pieces, the PETA. I'm not talking about a social life. I'm talking about she was at the game. She was actually eating a hot dog. We don't take any stand like that.
You know, we're all about the environment. We're completely nonviolent, so we don't do things like that. So, yeah, what do you think about lamb chops? Isn't that terrible? People eat that stuff. I mean, those were babies at one time, right? We're about protecting the whales, the trees and stuff. So you don't care that I'm wearing a rattlesnake belt right now? Died naturally, though. And it's literally just a rattlesnake. All right, it's cool. That's awesome. Meanwhile, he's not wearing a rattlesnake belt, and the guy can clearly see that. He couldn't see my belt.
No, he couldn't. Nope. All right. Were you wearing one of your basketball jerseys that day? Now, here's... What does that mean? I was saying that. What does that mean? No, he's the best in... I kind of like it. I don't. Hey, Rob, Rob, Rob, Rob is... They only sell them in long. and I can't get them just... Longs? Yeah, like... At the drugstore? No, no, no. Like, the size is, like, large, long. You can't get it, like, just regular size. So you have to buy adult sizes. I have to tuck them in. No, I buy them at Baby Gap. There it is.
You know what? Don't buy. So what? I'm too big for the youths. You guys are jerks. I wear size 2T. I'm working on it. A mini-mini. Rob is talking with an older lady here, and he's talking to her about getting her car stolen, and she starts to tell Rob where she's originally from. Oh, nice. What are you doing at the courthouse? I'm a juror. You're a juror, but you were kind of telling me your car got stolen a while ago. What happened with that?
Well, it was impounded. Now, the police had told me that they would call me. Guesses. I will say Holland, Eddie. Where's like Zsa Zsa Gabor from? Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Romania. Romania. I'm going Romania. Okay, Sky. Austria. Sean. I'll say the Czech Republic, Mike. Thank you. Ashley.
Germany. There you go, good guess. Boston Rob Nose and Roosevelt Zethian Oates Jr., the third Esquire. The Netherlands. The Netherlands. - First, before impounding, and they did not. I was not called until, what, six days, and that accumulated a lot of, number one, they touted. Number two. I'm sorry? They touted it? What are they touting? They touted a lot of number one. That's what you said.
Accumulated impound charges. So someone stole the car, they found it and impounded it? Yes, instead of calling me. I could have driven it off the spot because the people that stole it. Well, when it says that they'll tow stuff away, then they don't usually call you. Well, first of all, they don't have your number. No, you could have driven it off the spot. That is true, but they don't. How are they going to get a hold of you if they don't know your number? We're not all on speed dial. Yeah, we don't all have, like, a speed dial connected to our parking space. Is that what you're saying?
I don't have a Bolivian cell phone. Yeah, first of all, if he called you, he would have had to dial 011-429-55245, pound star 55. It gets expensive. It's just ridiculous. The people, or one person, they hot-wired it with their own key, and of course, I had the only key. And I drove it from the parking lot then, I mean, from the impound lot then. By the way, what is Romanian for hot-wiring it? I mean, is there a translation for hot-wiring it?
And I could have done that without having all those expenses, and I put in a complaint about that. I just noticed this, too. Eddie said Zsa Zsa. And he's right. Like, did you ever notice that when you hear this accent, it's always in an older woman. We always hear this even associated. Like, you never hear a young 22. Like, hello. Where are you from? I noticed your accent. Originally Germany, but that's a long time ago. Ashley.
Ashley. Point for Ashley. The old country, it's beautiful there. Country of lights, that's what they call it. They do not call it, they don't call it the country of lights. The country of energy and, you know, there's things going on. I mean, there's just stupid things like car stolen here and a lot of crime. There's never been one car stolen in Germany to this day. To this day. Now, what did they have in Germany? I mean, they killed six million Jews, but... I think they got like an emperor, right? No, they have a very good woman president.
Get out of town, a woman? Yeah, they have a woman, and she's very good. Woman chancellor. What, a chancellor? What's a chancellor? I thought that was in Star Wars. It was chancellor. Alpatine. Okay, all right. Eddie knows that it was counselor. Alpatine. Yeah, they call him chancellor, sir, president. Okay, okay, so it's not an emperor. There's no, like, lords and kings and knights. No, that's England. Oh, that's England? I get those countries confused. No. They're both islands. You don't get them confused. But you don't get them confused. China is very much connected to Russia and to, uh... Oh, then I get it confused with Ireland.
Yes, you are. I don't know. I don't know. That was ridiculous. Oh, I love it. They're all Ireland. Oh, wow. Welcome back. Let's do this. Quick timeout. And then when we come back, we'll do something called the Dumb Chick Challenge. Oh, wait, why? Why would we need to come back? This is where we take Sky, Ashley, and Rob, and we pit them against each other in questions about academics. You know, it's general knowledge questions.
Who won last week? Rob did, didn't he? Rob finally pulled one out. Skye has been on a roll. Skye's won like six out of the last seven. So, and Ashley, she's hanging in there. Well. She's hanging tough, as they say in NKOTB. New strategy today. It's a new strategy. Yeah. You're going to employ a new strategy. Your base coach is telling you now. Watch two-and-a-half men tonight at 6 and 7, only on San Diego CW Cable Channel 5. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. This commute is turning into a tough one out here this morning. It started at 805 northbound with a car fire near Murray Ridge, now out of the way, but damage done. Traffic has backed up big time, man, from before Plaza Boulevard out of the South Bay. all the way up over the 8 Freeway into Kearney Mesa. The South 125 early on had a rollover accident near Lemon Avenue.
That's now out of the way, but you won't find some leftover slowing there coming off the 8 Freeway. The 8 itself westbound, a couple of accidents near Severn Drive, keeping things very tough here. Actually backed up approaching Severn. Next stays slow pretty much all the way out towards Fletcher Parkway. Reduced speeds again in toward the College area to the 15. And now you're finding a slow ride from the 805 in past the Q to Mission Center Road. Southbound's out of the 15, bumper to bumper off the 78, Tavia Rancho Parkway. Now slow out of Carmel Mountain Ranch down to the 56. Eastbound, 78, near Twin Oaks Valley Road. Bad injury crash here has you just in single digits coming out of that area.
Out of Vista into San Marcos. That's causing a major backup on the westbound, 78, due to Curiosity as well. Coming off the 15 through San Marcos on that side. And the coaster rides south, 5, quite the struggle out of La Costa. All the way to Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Stay thirsty, my friends. Now, back to The Mikey Show with Mikey. I'm a bad guy. Trying to be a good guy. Eddie. I almost now try to find kind of the weirdest thing on the menu and get it. Sky. I hate to cook. Sean. I hate the taste of water. Boston Rob. You guys are a bunch of jerks and you know that. And Ashley. I just have a different way of speaking. There you go. Utilizing the language. The Mikey Show's on. All right, that's what I'm talking about. Rock 105.3.
Welcome back to the Mikey Show. It is 729. Amy Winehouse was released from police custody with a warning after she headbutted a guy. NBA playoffs yesterday saw New Orleans, Phoenix, Cleveland, and Detroit all win. Our text number is 35253. Eddie's working on getting A.J. Smith or Norv Turner on the show later this morning. Talk about the draft and the guys that they got. And, yeah, text messages. You can text us or call us anytime. 5701053 is the phone number.
And the text number is 35253. And we embark. In what may prove to be a veritable innuble exercise in the substantiation of mental acumen, The Mikey Show presents a somewhat gelastic moiety called The Dumb Chick Challenge. If you've never heard The Dumb Chick Challenge, here is how it works. Take the three dumb chicks on the show, Boston Rob, Sky, Ashley. And what we do is we ask them questions.
That's right And the questions are assigned A point value From one to three Ones are fairly simple Threes are a tad Bit less simple But yet still Simple A simple genre Stop it All right Please Now The goal Is to get to five points So the first person to five points Is the winner And, again, one, two, and three-point questions. Ones are easy, threes are hard, and here we go.
First, you get to pick your horse. You get to say who you believe will win. P1 Squeaks, are you there? Yes, I am. Squeaks, who are you taking? I'm going to take Sky. What up? Come on, Squire. Hang on the line. Squire. P1 Garbage Plate is on the line. Garbage Plate, are you there? Yo, I got B-Rob. Yeah. Garbage Plate, do you call yourself P1 Garbage Plate because you're from Rochester and you used to eat at Nick Tahoe's? Oh, yeah, downtown. Look at you. Look at this guy. Down on Monroe Ave. You know it. Hang on the line. That lake affects snow. Yeah, that's right.
It's like big flakes. It's like corn flakes coming down on you. It's terrible. P1 Harold, are you there? Yeah, I'll take Ashley. Well, you got her. Yeah, buddy. Hang on the line. All right. Eddie, where do we begin? I believe the Riz started first last time. That means Skye is up. Now, Skye, for those of you that have never heard the show. Oh, I hate this game. Skye usually has a system. She goes, give me a two, give me a two, give me a one. And that she'll win a lot of times like that. Last week, we were able to get her out of her comfort level just a tad.
And what happened? It was a big mistake. Yes, thank you. Turned out to be a mistake. We all learned a lesson last week, I think. So, Skye, I'm assuming that you're going to go back to your normal routine. Choose her intelligence cap. That is right. So, above that. I've gotten threes right before. I cannot recall that. Hey, at least I don't drink out of a bottle, okay? Now, wait a second. I would like it to... For the benefit of those that are just tuning in, Eddie's giving Skye a look right now like, oh, really? Oh, really? You've been waiting for that. Oh, really? All morning. Oh, my gosh. All morning. Dude, as soon as you said that you had to go to a couple's baby shower,
Skye clenched her fists together and said, I'm so happy. It's a true story. That's cool. Yeah. So your two-point question is, Skye. Yeah, Mike, I've already won. I'm really, in my book, I'm already won. But yes, please, please continue. Skye, your question is, what is the only U.S. state that grows coffee? The only U.S. state that grows coffee. I know this because I bought some, I bought some, I bought some last time I was there.
Oh, what? You are correct. Oh, what's that? Sky, you are correct. Yeah, baby bottles. It is, oh, no. What happened? How dare you? Do not. No, listen. Listen. Moratorium. I thought that's what happened. Moratorium. I thought we were congratulating Sky. Moratorium on baby bottles. And moratorium on sunburn. Fine. No, what? No, no moratorium on baby bottles. No moratorium on baby bottles. No way. No way. You? What? I thought we were congratulating Sky. I'm trying to help you. Eddie is your base coach. Let's see what happens now, Ash.
He's my best. my name, my base coat. Eddie washed his hands of you. He's throwing his hands around, kid. Ash, good luck. Ashley's got the curly hair going today. Looks like I'm moving to the sippy cup, Mike. Here we go. Give me a one. A one-pointer. It is the sippy cup of questions. And your question is... Also a stomach ailment in horses. What common condition causes babies to cry for hours on end, Ashley. I had this when I was a baby
and my grandpa saved my life. So I'll say colic. That is correct, Ash. Yeah, I almost died when I was a baby and my grandpa saved my life because I had colic. How did you almost die? Because I was caught, because it was so bad and like my parents didn't know what I had because back then, like they didn't really know what to do and they're freaking out and this was 1847 they didn't know what God it was they didn't figure out
no I mean I think that they just were new parents my dad and mom were freaking out they didn't know what to do and I was getting worse and worse until my grandpa came in he knew what to do he did the bath and got this steam going in the bathroom and stayed up with me all night until I was better and prayed and stuff with me held me it was like this really big moment I got good news for you, Ashley. That's why I love him so much. I got good news for you. I screwed up and I read a two-point question. You actually get two points for it. I screwed up. Yeah! It was a two-pointer. It was a two-pointer.
What's up, Eddie? I messed up. Goes over to Austin Rob. We got to talk a little bit later. Talk about the Smiley Cyrus thing. It's blowing up, by the way. Is it really? It's all over the Today Show. Oh, no. The Smiley Cyrus taking a picture that's... Well, first of all, there's the whole, you know, scandalous photos that are kind of risque from about a week ago. Followed on the footsteps of this stuff, which is her taking pictures for Vanity Fair. And they're kind of revealing. So we'll talk about that.
Boston Rob, one, two or three point question. I'd like a three. Look at this guy. And if you happen to read a one, no problem there. Oh, my gosh. I have it right this time. I see what you're doing there. Rob, your question is, what was the acquisition by the United States of 828,000 square miles of French territory in 1803 called? The Louisiana Purchase. That is correct, Rob. Guy knows his history. You're good, dude.
Look at this guy. You're good, dude. Guy knows his history. I'm all about Rob today. I believe that Napoleon sold that to us so he could fund a little more of his war, Mike. Look at this guy. Now he's showing off. Yeah, we get it. Now he's showing off. Guy gets it. Comes to history, the guy gets it. What can we say? Anyways. By the way, I just want to point out that in the history of the Dumb Chick Challenge, I don't know that we've ever started a game where every person gets their question. That's true. I don't think that's ever happened. He's going well. Sky answers right.
Ashley answers right. Rob answers right. Sky, don't end this. Don't end this. You know you put all this pressure on. No, no, no, I'm saying, keep this historic moment going. Would you like a one, a two, or a three-point question? Well, it kind of sucks that Rob got his three-pointer, right? But I'm not going to let him face me, so I'm going to stick to my strategy. Wow. You stick to that strategy. You're not going three-pointer. Well, no. Wow. I'm telling you, my next turn, I'm going two.
Well, I know you are, Duncan, but. You show no pressure here. Okay. I will like a two, please. Okay. Sky, your two-point question is, what type of device did Michael Jackson reportedly sleep in which enhances oxygen absorption? This guy's got a smile. She's got a smile. There's something going on there in the eyes. I can see it. It says I might know this. I'm thinking. Macaulay Culkin's bedroom. Great guess.
It's also acceptable as an answer. Really good guess. I'm thinking hyperbaric chamber, but I don't know if that's just from listening to you talk about National University or if that is really... I will have that be my answer. You are correct, Sky. Wow. You are correct, Sky. My goodness. Look at this. Unbelievable. Ladies and gentlemen, no one has gotten a question wrong yet. Who will be the person? Who will end this historic day?
Ashley? Look at Ashley's leaning back in her chair. She's playing with her hair. She's playing with her hair. She has a chance, ladies and gentlemen. Never a good sign. She can do it. Give me a tweet, please. Oh, my God. Go for the win. Go for the win. Could it be? Oh, my God. Could it be? This is nuts. Folks, I'm going to admit to you, I do not know the answer to this question. That is a horrible sign. That's a bad sign. I do not know the answer to this question.
Not a good start. I don't like that sign. In fact, I've never heard of this thing I'm asking about. Holy cow. I haven't. Uh-oh. Ashley, if you know the answer to this, we'll both know. Because you'll be telling me. How many sides does a rhombus have? Oh. How many sides does a rhombus have? Never heard of it. Ashley has her hands up. She's touching her nose. She's smiling. I totally know this. Oh, oh, ooh.
Ah, ah, ah. Sean, please save that entire piece of audio there. how many sides it's not an octagon that has eight sides no it's a rombus i'm helping not a triangle that has three sides that is circle i want to say five because that's what my gut says but for some reason i'm thinking five quad quad is four five is like Like five a gun.
I'm going to go with my gut and say five or seven. I don't know. Ashley, that is incorrect. Seven. No, you actually said it and thought it was something else. Apparently, a rhombus has four sides. I don't I didn't know what a rhombus was. A rhombus is a shape. Is that the deal? I don't know any of this. So, in other words, a box is a rhombus? No, it's uniquely shaped.
Hold on, I'll bring it up. It's like the sides all have to be parallel, and there are four sides. It kind of looks like a diamond. I so knew that. A diamond, like on a playing card, a diamond. Okay, okay, okay. Frustrating. There you go. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, I got it. It's a diamond. Boston Rob. Rizzy. You can end it right here in a row. I can end it? Or you could take two ones in a row, but you could take a two and end it right here. I just hate to, you know, all sky's hard work at one of those questions correct. You know, that awesome strategy that always takes a few times around.
Oh, no. Just for fun, give me a two. You got it. You got it, Rob. Look at this guy. It did, Rob. Thank you. Rob, in 2002, what actress became the first African-American woman to win Best Actress at the Oscars? Oh, no. Oh, he may not know this, Ash. That'd be great. He's got a big smile on his face. Either he's toying with us and our emotions. Yeah, that's what he's doing. And he's got that look like, I don't know what's that. And this is so easy, too.
Is it? It is so easy. Is he screwing with us? I don't know. No, I don't know either. It doesn't, I gotta know, hold on, I got a couple of names. Oh, it would be so embarrassing if he didn't get this right. How would it be, would it be embarrassing? Yes, it would. He knows it. Is, oh no, oh no. Is it Janet Jackson? Shut it out. Wow, I have no idea. I'm going to guess Halle Berry. You're so dumb. He did that on purpose. He is getting the double. He is getting the double. Yes!
Oh, is it right? Guys, second place. Oh, I can't believe it's right. I'm in the runner-up today. I can't believe it. Runner-up is on a roll. He won garbage plate. Boston Rob, just one for you. Eddie, what did he win? He's going to see Iron Man tomorrow night. The Mikey Show. It's all gay. All the way. The Mikey Show is on. Rock 105.3. Thank you. I just wanted to let you know about AIS. What happened? Did you call them and get a great deal on car insurance? Oh, actually, yeah. I just got in a car accident maybe two months ago. And when my car insurance finally got everything in order, they wanted to raise my car insurance up to like $5.50 a month. So two nights ago, I called AIS to get everything squared away with them. And they actually dropped me down to $2.12 a month. So they saved me like $330 a month. Holy cow.
Yeah, it's like $4,000 a year. I couldn't believe it. I don't know how to thank you enough. I wish that everybody, you know how you can thank me, is just tell people that it's for real, and if you call AIS, you're going to save money. Oh, dude, it was awesome. I can't believe how much I saved. Thank you very much. It's one. You have a great day, Mike. Thank you. You have a great day. Will do. Goodbye. 1-800-777-4-AIS. Eddie's working on getting A.J. Smith or Norv Turner on the show to discuss the Chargers picks over the weekend, the NFL draft. Don't forget, we're going to do P1 trivia coming up in a little bit because we want somebody to come hang out in the studio on Friday with us, and that's how we get a winner. Oh, oh, oh, very important. Be working on your Iron Man costume.
Tomorrow's the Iron Man fashion show. Yes. Here at the radio station, Mikey Show's doing the Iron Man fashion show. This is open to men and women, and this is going to be the biggest movie of the summer, man. It's going to be gigantic. I didn't know. Eddie told me, Jon Favreau, the dude that played Mike in one of the biggest guy movies of all time, Swingers, is the director of that movie. Yeah, he'll be on the show tomorrow. For real? Yeah. That's awesome. That's awesome. It's going to be killer, man. And everybody that participates in the fashion show will win premiere tickets to the San Diego premiere that night, tomorrow night.
Huge. That's so cool. And then the grand prize winner is crazy. Grand Prize winner is going to take a La Costa limousine up to Los Angeles to the premiere of the movie. And you know, every star in Hollywood, man, every star in the year. So a lot of man's Chinese theaters where the premiere is. That's really awesome. I wish you could somehow finagle all of us into that. But it sounds great, man. It really does sound cool. And so make tomorrow morning, which they do, Eddie, just show up, right? Yeah, yeah.
We're going to do it around seven o'clock. So we're going to do it up top in the back of the radio station. We're going to have a whole fashion show stage and everything. So, yeah, you just come on over, and everybody can come out and check it out, too. And we're going to have tickets to give away to the crowd, too. So it's going to be a really, really fun time tomorrow morning. Gigantic prize. Nice. So it's worth it for you to be getting some kind of an Iron Man costume and coming down here to be a part of this fashion show, which is going to be hysterical. I can't wait. So that is tomorrow. So we have a plumber coming out to the house because I flushed a little tiny aerosol can down the toilet over the weekend.
Why would you do that? I didn't do it on purpose. Why would Mike do that? Why would you do that? I didn't do it on purpose. Like, man, first aerosol and then you're going to put it. Why? Well, I flushed the toilet and, you know, and as it was going, you know how it does the final where every bit of water is gone. Right then, the little tiny aerosol can drops out of my hand. Now, you guys know what the aerosol can is about. Why would you have an aerosol can? We're adults. We're adults.
We're adults. We're adults. We're adults. What is it? We're adults here. What's the air, like hairspray? We're adults here. What's the can for? Sean. Eat between the lines. Hairspray. He doesn't have any hair. Sound effect guy. Shaving cream? Yes, it was a miniature bottle of shaving cream. I like to shave on the toilet. Shoe-y. And so, anyway. No. So, there it went. And so, you know, we're a little out of service right now. Oh, really? Did it jack it up? Yeah, jacked it up pretty good, actually. Real good.
Oh. And so, yeah. It's real nice and all messed up. Smells nice, though, huh? Hey. Hey, whoa, bro. Very pretty smelly. It's very pretty smelly. It's an important thing. It is. It is. Luckily, you know, got a couple of blasts off of the aerosol before it. Good job. Can you smell what Barack is cooking? Thank you, Barack. What flavor is that scent? It was, I believe it was. Lavender? I believe it was lavender. It's a nice one. Lavender and poop. Lavender. It was clean, clean linen.
Can you smell what the Mac is cooking? I don't want to smell. That was a good idea. So anyway. Well, Mike. Congratulations to me. Yes. How about the chicken pox outbreak that hit Grossmont College? How about that? Oh, no. Yeah, like, don't kids get chicken pox? Yeah. Yeah, no, I guess there was kind of this mini outbreak going on at Grossmont College, so they want to warn everybody who goes there. Three students and one staff member
have come down with the chicken pox. Question. Yes, sir. Is that the one that's worse when you're an adult? Yes, it is. So you can get it when you're a kid and it doesn't really affect... I got it when I was a kid. Yeah. My mom put that pink lotion all over me. I had little pink dots all over that dried up. What is that stuff called? Calamine. Calamine. Pepto-bismol. Yes. It didn't work. Yeah, that's so weird. Although your stomach felt better. Yeah. So school officials at Grossmont College are saying, hey, guys, if you haven't been vaccinated or were never vaccinated for the chicken pox, you may want to look into that because it's going around campus. Oh, boy.
Yeah. I wonder if any of our listeners have go to Grossmont and have it. Yeah. Well, and like as a kid, when you see a kid with spots all over him, you're like, oh, they got the chicken pox. But to be an adult and have to walk around, like, I mean, everybody's, like, thinking you're a leper. Like, it's not cool. Yeah, because if I remember correctly, it didn't make you feel, it didn't make me feel sick. I was fine. You could get a fever and stuff like that, but mostly it's just itchy. Yeah. That's what I remember.
Yeah, and, like, the fever can pass, but you still have all those spots all over your body for a while. Yeah. Whatever, dude. The best part about chicken pox is missing school. I say milk that. That's what I thought when I was a kid. Drink your Capri Sun. Malk it, man. What's Malk? But college, you're kind of paying for that. Some Malk and cookies and just kick back, bro. Don't even worry about it. Malk. That's all I'm saying. We have a clip here of Madonna on the Today Show. Talking about making a documentary for these kids in Malawi.
Which, before Madonna, I didn't know there was a place called Malawi. That's true. uh cut 32 something about their situation connected to me and in a way i was going on my own journey and connecting to these children and wanting to in a way heal myself whilst helping them while hearing about their suffering pause pause whilst no no no no no you don't you don't No one's allowed to. Really?
No. What about the kid that went to Singapore that got those welts on his back after getting hit with the cane? I mean, that hurts. Or you get some welts when you're working in the garden on your hands. Then it is allowed. Well, I think that's different. But I don't think the chick that rolled around on stage singing like a virgin should be allowed to say... Mike, you weren't born in England, so you don't get... But Skye. Michigan. No, yeah, Michigan. Michigan, right? She's from Michigan. Oh, I thought.
Sounds like it. Sounds like it. You would think. Unpause. I feel myself whilst helping them. Hearing about their suffering, something open to you. Not okay. I grew up as a motherless child. I had a roof over my head, and I had food, and I had a school to go to. And I still thought that my world was going to collapse on me. So how could it be for these children who, most of them, having lost both of their parents, having no roof over their head, no food to eat, how horrifying and frightening it must be for them? Eddie, do we have more prizes?
Yes. Okay. The next person that is able to cleverly, organically, and very naturally work in whilst into a conversation with us on the air today will win a prize. Wow. But I don't want it to be, if it's awkward. Yeah, no. I mean, it's got to just fly by us. It's got to be so low on that radar. Don't force it. Don't force it. I love that.
Madonna on why she understands people would be skeptical. Cut 33. I appreciate and understand how people could be cynical. That's fine. I accept that. Why do you appreciate that people can be cynical? Because I think we live in a society where people are naturally suspicious of acts of altruism or generosity. Or maybe they might be suspicious because they might think, well, you know, Madonna changes all the time. Is this simply another fad? Pause. Oh, wow.
Ann Curry's going Matt Lauer style. Nice. This may be another fad. Awesome. Listen, you know, like Matt Lauer asks real tough questions. A lot of times it's questions that I may think, but I wouldn't have the rocks to ask. Right. That question, I wasn't even thinking necessarily. I was like, whoa. Yeah, is this like the cone bra, Madonna? Yeah, is this a child that you have the equivalent to cone boobs and voguing? Is that what this is?
Unpause. All the time. Is this simply another fad, du jour, a trend? Or is this a new, is this something that's really core to Madonna? My reinventions are part of my evolution and my growth as a person. There are aspects of it that are frivolous, and there are aspects of it that are real. Wow. Wow. So the kid that she has, his name is David Banda. Something tells me David is not his naturally born name. I don't think so.
His Malawian name? I do not believe that David is a popular Malawian name, but... Oh, okay. What about Dave? Dave is. Oh, that's a little more, yeah. Dave is. It's the number one name in Malawi right now. Yeah, I heard it was popular. That and Hunter. That is correct, yes. Bree has been very popular over the last year. Obviously, I don't speak Chichewa. Thank you. And, of course, McKenna has been very popular in Malawi for a long time. Yes. Cut 34. It's been hard, then, to adopt David.
We have not even been granted the full adoption. It's supposed to be happening in the next month. So, for the last 18 months, I've been a foster parent. Pause. I've been visited every... She has an English accent. Yes, she does. Only sometimes, though. She has an English accent, though. There's no doubt about it. No. Unpause. I've been visited every six weeks by social workers who come into the house and make sure that you're being a good parent and that David's health is thriving and ask you all kinds of invasive questions and you have to put up with it and endure it and you know I've been fingerprinted
20 times and undergone psychological evaluations. It's extraordinarily difficult to behave the way that the rest of the world is forced. I feel bad for you Madonna. Sorry. Unpause. I've gone psychological evaluations and I think everybody who goes through adoptions has to do this so I'm not alone but you know i i'd do it again you would yeah why because david is amazing because he's brought so much joy to our lives and well they love him and and so it was worth it i think most people will suffer for the things they love i've decided that this is going to be my new cause
and i'm going to try to stop social workers from coming into homes of adopting a drug. Madonna, they're doing good. It's so invasive, though. But that's the job. It's so invasive. I mean, you have to. Perhaps I didn't mention some of the awful atrocities they committed while in my home. Like what? They asked me questions. Oh, well, then. Did they make eye contact with you? Twice. Oh, my gosh. How can you do it? You're a hero. Atuistic. Once upon arriving and again upon leaving, it is awful.
Oh, wow. Sorry. Poor thing. Ladies and gentlemen, Mariah Carey. What? Rob. On her onstage props, cut 30. Mariah, don't you want a fan to just blow your hair at all times? Of course. Isn't it great to say? doesn't anybody understand the importance now I love my fans I also love me a fan a fan blowing the wind I wouldn't do that here unless you wanted one and then we could both have one
sometimes I actually make Lori Shalways will fan me just for the effect of wind blowing my hair the effect of just like the window happened to open and it's just like oh what happened is this soft lighting and wind oh what happened exactly Random debate. Oh. You ready? Yes. 570-1053 or text us at 35253. Here's a random debate. Okay. Would you, which would you choose if you had to choose? Would you choose being, having to be a person that's having to be on America's Most Wanted?
Or having to be a person that's going to be on I Shouldn't Be Alive? Oh, no, no. Sky is thinking right now. 570-1053. Text us, 35253. You're either going to have to be on America's Most Wanted, which everything that comes with it comes with it, or you're going to have to be on I Shouldn't Be Alive, TV show I Shouldn't Be Alive.
If you don't know what that show is, Well, first of all, if you don't know what it is, I don't want to know you, but if you don't know what it is, it's a TV show about people that have been in situations that they should not have survived but did. 570-1053. Dear people of the world, the Mikey Show is on. But at what cost? At what cost? This is The Rock. Here come the divas. Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and Madonna.
The Divas are here on MyTV13. Divas on Celebrity Exposé. Beyoncé, her shocking wedding to Jay-Z. We've got the inside story of the impulsive rush to marriage that took everyone by surprise. Celebrity Exposé. Monday at 8 on MyTV13. Then. Yeah, boy. Me and my kid brother both grew up. He was a good one. I was destroyed. He ran from president of his class. I ran from cops when they chased my ass. Then one day, everything changed. He crashed the car.
I took the blame. He got rich and bought a big house new. Meanwhile, I was in the big house too. Now I'm out with two strikes on the paper. Call kid brother because he owes me a favor. One hand walks the other. Here's proof. Now it's me and my brother living under one roof. Under One Roof, Wednesdays at 8 on MyTV13. They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I prefer the weapon you only need to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far.

I've got no idea. Good luck keeping up. Yeah, I can fly. Robert Downey Jr. There's been speculation that I'm braiding around as a superhero. I'm just not the hero type, clearly. Iron Man.
Iron Man, that's kind of catchy. It's got a nice ring. Rated PG-13. May be inappropriate for children under 13. Special advanced screening start this Thursday at 8 p.m. Opens everywhere Friday. Cricket Wireless. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. It's been a tough commute for a Monday back to work here now in the North County. Still eastbound 78, quite backed up here.
Approaching Escondido Avenue, and that's a slow crawl out of Vista into San Marcos. A bad accident near Twin Oaks Valley Road just past that, actually, has just caused a major mess in this area. And a traffic light has been issued. It's also affecting the West 78 with curiosity seekers of slowers, actually. It's keeping it tough. Yeah, they're looking for it. Out of Escondido, messed up through San Marcos on that side of the freeway as well. South 15 crawling from El Norde Parkway over the lake through Rancho Bernardo all the way down to Carmel Mountain Ranch and to Miramar. You've got northbound to 15, heavy as well, coming from the 52 up towards Miramar. Apparently, a malfunctioning signal light near the base on Miramar Road is causing that back up onto the freeway.
The West 8 still finding a busy ride as well out of the East County. Tight from Spring Street down to Lake Murray. Then again from right around the College area. That continues off and on in past the queue to Texas Street. And things are breaking up out of the South Bay. The 805 northbound now slow from Plaza Boulevard up towards Imperial Avenue. Good to go from here until you get into North Park. Then it hits you again at the 163 for a slow one up towards Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Broadcasting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. This is the official home of the Mikey Morning Show.
I love it. I love it. I love what a spectacle it is. KIOC San Diego's Rock 105.3. Now back to Mikey. I am short, shaved, Mexican, bald head. Eddie. When I don't eat, I become a different person. Sky. Yes, I'm not the only liberal person in the world. Sean. I routinely obsess about the cleanliness of my windshield. Austin Rob. I have this when I'm merging from the 805 to the 8. You're afraid that it'll collide.
Yes. And Ashley. Hygiene is very, very, very important to me. The Mikey Show's on. I like Boston Rob's pick here. Rock 105.3. Ladies and gentlemen, Toto. Good song, man. Is there a girl's name in the title? That is correct, Sky. He loves to do that. Yeah, exactly. I didn't even think of that. Rob really has a thing for songs with women's names. This is Rosanna.
He's played Melissa, Amy. Sweet Caroline. Sweet Caroline. He really likes him. I guess so. 570-1053. Text us at 35253. I may not have heard, I probably haven't heard this song in 12 years. I love this song. Yeah. Good job, Rob. All right.
All right, so before we went to break, well, first of all, it's 8-12. Thank you for listening. Oil has hit a new high this morning at almost $120 a barrel. Oh, when is it going to stop? Kyle Busch came back from a lap down to win at Talladega yesterday. You know what's so weird is Rob's breath constantly smells like gasoline, and he's got that tube back in the office. And I'm like, what is going on with that? My car's always up to you. Yeah, like, I can't keep gas in my car for some reason. It showed up, it's full.
Damn it! It's empty. So here was the random debate question before we went to break. You either have to be on America's Most Wanted or you're either the focus of America's Most Wanted or you're the focus of the TV show I Shouldn't Be Alive. For me, it's easy call. There is no way I would ever, ever, ever, ever want to be on I Shouldn't Be Alive. No way. Ever. Okay.
Well, you guys know I try to play it safe. I can't understand why people hike to begin with. Now, wait a second. Isn't one of your biggest fears prison? Oh, yeah. Oh, absolutely. Oh, wait a minute. So what happens if you get caught? Is that the deal? You said everything that comes with it. Not only that. If you get caught. But not only that, Mexico's right across the street. Wait a second, though. The bottom line is, I've said it before, they all get caught. Oh, dude. And I'm thinking about me.
Am I smart enough to get away from them? I know I'm not. Oh, that just messed everything up. That threw prison into it. Yeah, now I got to rethink it. Yeah, now I don't know. Oh, man, and I don't get to know what the I Shouldn't Be Alive is going to be about, right? I don't know any of this. It might not be that bad. Like the shark episode. Oh, how dare you? Stop it.
Okay, let me tell you something. Nothing compares to the shark episode. So there is nothing that you can say that's worse than the shark episode. I would take prison over that. I would too. And I'm telling you, I'm terrified of prison. Who wouldn't be? But that shark episode, where they're out on the ocean blue. No. No. For, I think they were out there seven days or something. At least a week, yeah. Thank you. There was a woman in this rubber lifeboat with them who was bleeding. And that blood was seeping into the ocean, calling hundreds of sharks. No, thank you.
I'd rather not. To that rubber raft. Yeah. She eventually started to drink the ocean water and hallucinate. So she was speaking in tongues in the middle of the night. They finally had to, after she died, throw her into the ocean where she was consumed and they had to see it. There was only like two out of the seven people that made it because they were all eaten. They were all eaten. You make it out alive, right? Well, a couple of them did, yeah. You make it out alive.
So we can say that. We're going under that assumption. We will go on the assumption that whatever your situation is, you're going to get out of it alive. But you've gone through something very traumatic. Awful. You've gone through something awful. But we also have to make the assumption if you're on America's Most Wanted, you're still on the run. You're not in prison yet. You're still on the run. But that's your life. But your whole life is spent running, hiding. Until you get caught. Until you get caught and go to prison. If you get caught. Which, by the way, your prison will be years probably, whereas if you're on I Shouldn't Be Alive, the longest I've ever seen an episode of I Shouldn't Be Alive is like, it's very rare that it goes over a week. Now, let me tell you about what some of these things are, besides the shark episode.
Like one episode, Eddie, did you ever see the one where the boulder fell on his legs? Oh, man. Oh, yeah. So he's trapped. He's trapped under a boulder that's crushing his legs. I can't hear this. And as he's in this situation, the water around him, because this happened like by a river, is rising. Okay. And his buddy's got to run out of the jungle and go try to find help and come back. Oh, my gosh. And as his buddy is running out of there, he's thinking to himself, it's been a while. he doesn't know if his buddy's lost himself
and am I just going to die here? You got to talk yourself out of giving up. Cutting your own legs off. Sure. Wild animals. Yeah. Or, would you rather be on the run, face prison for years? Oh my god. P1 Lauren, which would you choose? Definitely I shouldn't be alive. Really? Well, you've got a great adventure, a great story to talk about that even want to put you on TV. A great adventure.
You almost died, lady. Yeah, you almost, yeah, the whole point is that you shouldn't even be living anymore based on what happened to you. But you are. But you are living now. Most episodes, your friends die, you know, or like somebody you're with is probably dead with, you know, you've gone through hell, dehydration, you know, scarred for life. Not as easy as it sounds. Say that again? I said, think about what kind of a life-changing experience that would be and what kind of changes you would make in your life afterwards.
But that's what you've got to go through. You have nightmares every night. A lot of people have to hit bottom before they see the light. Oh, my God. Forget it, lady. Holy Toledo, you got rocks, this lady. Here's some of the texts we're getting at 35253. Mikey, I would be on I Shouldn't Be Alive. These people are liars. I don't know that they've seen any of these episodes. You watch one of those episodes. You may be able to flip your story and be on talk shows, write a book, be successful. That way, I'd come up with some scratch.
Yeah, that's possible. Mikey, that's easy. I choose I Shouldn't Be Alive. Whoa. You're full of it, all of you. I survived for a reason, given the impossible odds, and I got a great story to tell. P1 Chef E-Rock. Now, Chef E-Rock, they're all thinking about the end result. You got to go through it, you know. Some of those are hideous. Some of those I shouldn't be alive's are beyond hideous. Yeah, because every second of that week or whatever, like you're thinking, I'm going to die.
Every single second. I'm going to die. I mean, just over and over and over again for like a week straight. If you're on the run, you're thinking, I might be caught. Okay, you're caught. You're still going to grab a sandwich. Exactly. They're going to feed you when they catch you. Mikey, I would much rather be on I Shouldn't Be Alive. Wait a minute. Wow. Because then I wouldn't be a bad guy whilst on the other show. Oh. Ooh, there it is. I most likely would.
Nice. It's impossible. Wrong. He may have used that wrong. Let me read it to you again. You guys tell me. All right. I would much rather be on I Shouldn't Be Alive because then I wouldn't be a bad guy. Whilst on the other show, I most likely would. Is that a correct usage? I believe so. Sounds good to me. You guys are saying yeah? Yeah. P1 Nathan Explosion just won. Nice. Really good. You got his number? Really good job. Seth from texting? Yeah, I'll give it to Rob. All right, cool. Next one is Mikey. I would be on America's Most Wanted.
There's an honest person. Thank you. Smart. For jewel thievery. That's what I do. Okay, well. All right, well. Appreciate the text message there. Smart. P1 Julio. Yeah. What's going on? Hey, man, I love the show. Thank you. I'd much rather be on frigging I Shouldn't Be Alive. That way I don't have to look over my shoulder every second of the day. get caught by some Joe Schmoe that just saw the other week. What if your I shouldn't be alive is the one that I saw where the
guy is rafting down some river in like Africa with his friends. Alright, alright. Gets out of the boat, is attacked by an alligator who takes him into the death roll. He somehow pokes this alligator in the eye, which has the alligator let go of him, but this is after his legs have been shredded by said alligator. So he's able to crawl out
of the river, a bloody mess, go over to a tree where he passes out in pain, only to wake up and have to survive this scenario for about four or five days how did you do that oh now you by yourself or you with somebody else oh he was by himself my friend and that wound ouchy began to become infected oh god the first spot was take off his shirt rip it in half and then cinch off the top of his leg to stop the blood flow
did that burn it off did that off the pain he did do that that's how he was able to survive and be on I Shouldn't Be Alive. I didn't even watch that episode. Dude, I'm telling you it's gnarly. Those things that happen to these people are crazy. So crazy, but you know what? They're life lessons. Don't go out alone by yourself. That's a key one. Mm-hmm. There you go. You would do it. Alright, thanks for the call. Great lesson. Okay. What a lesson. Yeah. Key one, Matt, what would you do? Hey, I would definitely think America's Most Wanted. Why?
Dude, prison life is not that bad, man. That's what I've always heard. That's the rap on prison. It's not that bad, dude. You know, three hots and a cot. You get your TV. You get your commodities. You get to get outside once in a while. Wait, dude. You get to work out once in a while. You get to lift some weights, like being at a gym, only you live there. Sounds like a vacation. It's not that busy, man. It's not that busy, man. You get to meet a lot of new friends. You have a lot of fellowship. Arts and crafts. That's right. There you go. Get a good job working making license plates.
It's really great. Thank you. I highly recommend it. P1 John. Yeah, what's up? What would you do? I definitely would not be on America's Most Wanted because if you're on that show to begin with, You've already done something that if you get caught, you are going to jail for a long time. So, you know, no matter how much that guy likes prison life, there's a dark side of it that I wouldn't want to risk. We interviewed a guy that was on iShow. He couldn't be alive. Oh, really? Yeah, he was in the jungle. He was in the Amazon.
And remember the thing he talked about with the ants? Yeah. He went to sleep, and, you know, he's out in the middle of the Amazon lost. And he goes underneath a tree, and he kind of, like, makes a little nest for himself. And he puts a bunch of palm fronds over himself, and he falls asleep. In the middle of the night, it's raining real bad. And he's thinking to himself, I have to urinate really bad, but do I really want to get out of this position? I've created some warmth here, and it's freezing cold because of the rain. And he's just, he's weighing it, and he's like, I'm out in the middle of nowhere.
I'm lost. I really don't think it matters. I'm soaking wet anyway. I don't think it matters if I urinate. So he does, which creates warmth, and he's really actually kind of stoked about that. The problem is, is that the urine has minerals, salt, things like that, goes into the soil around him, and it calls up these ants. And these are not your, you know, run-of-the-mill ants. They are African Amazon fire ants. Oh, those sound scary.
And they start to attack him, and he said that it felt like his body was on fire. And so he's already out there. He's already, like, tired, hungry, cold, you know, beat up, afraid. And face-to-face with a jaguar. Yeah, face-to-face with a jaguar. You know, he scared away a jaguar because he had a lighter and some kind of, like, repellent from a can. And he sprayed the can and the lighter, and it scared away a jaguar. Wow. But so he's scared.
He's, like, totally out of it. He's hungry. And now he's attacked by fire ants. It's a good day. Yeah. I mean, I'm telling you, man. I don't know that I could do I shouldn't be alive. It just seems way too hard. It is not easy like Sunday morning. It's not. But what is? It is not. I wish it was. 3-5-2-5-3 is our text number. It's not easy. It's not easy. Mikey, haven't you ever seen the shower scene in the Shawshank Redemption? Anything in I shouldn't be alive would be better than that.
That's P1, Instigator. Mikey, I don't know that I have seen a shower scene in Shawshank Redemption. Well. I don't think that. There's scenes that. Like that. Yeah. Mikey, what would you rather tell your kids? I almost died but survived or I was wanted by the police. Good point. To a monster truck. Mikey, I would be on America's Most Wanted, Chicks Dig Rebels. There it is.

Before we went to break, I said that we were going to have these gas prices, and Skye knows where it's bad, she knows where it's good.
She's like Santa Claus. That's right. Yes, I am, Eddie. Thank you. Where is it the worst? Gassy Claus. Gassy Claus. Tell us where it is the worst. Well, this is all according. Do you think Skye will go for Gassy Claws as just a regular nickname? That's her name. No, it's not. Go ahead, Gassy Claws. That's not my name. Old Saint Fart. Well, that has nothing to do with gas prices. I think she would prefer Old Saint Gas. Because the other one would be, you know, Old Saint Gas, no. Well, that look said no, but you know what? Maybe her no means yes.
She's so disagreeing. Old Saint Gas. Anyway. Bethel. There's a website out there, sandiegogasprices.com, and basically they have people who post on there, you know, wherever they drive, the gas prices they see, so we can get a wide range of what's going on around the county. Stop it. Are you guys going to grow up like that anytime soon? Don't be cool, man. What the hell? What was that?
Glurp. i'm seven i'm gonna be honest hey this is all coming from the guy who spent his weekend smelling diapers and another guy who flushed an aerosol pan down the toilet because he had a stinky one okay and you're gonna come out i don't know what that's not really coming out Three points, guys. You're calling me gassy clock. Because you have all the answers. St. Bart?
You're old St. Bart. You're old St. Bart. Gas Kringle? Yes. How about that one? Toot Kringle. Toot Kringle? Can I just please? I'm listening. Thank you. Please. Where is it the gaseous? The cheapest gas out there, according to SanDiegoGasPrices.com, is the Costco and Poway, where you can get regular unleaded for $3.75 a gallon. That's cheap? That's the cheapest. That's not cheap. $3.75 a gallon. What did you say the most was?
I haven't said yet. Oh, you haven't? Almost as much as you can't even wait. I was doing old St. Fart. The most expensive they have listed, and this is just for regular unleaded, is the Chevron in PB on Garnet, which is going for $4.26 a gallon. I've seen that. It's unreal. It's unreal. I never thought I'd see the day it was over $4. That's weird. And that's regular. That's regular. Yeah, that's a cheap gas. I wonder how much expensive one is there. Oh, here, let me look. Go ahead, Ash.
I was just going to say, I was watching the news and they're talking to this gas expert and he was saying that... This guy is a gas expert. This guy's old St. Toot. Well, this guy is a gas expert as well and he was saying that it's going to hit like $5 within like... No, no. That can't be. That can't be. It's in the future, and it's in the near future. It's not, no. And it's going to hit five bucks. No, no, no. Watch your mouth out. It's not. So they list here for premium gas, the highest in the county, is the Shell Station on Balboa and the 805 in Kearney Mesa, and they say that that's $4.49 a gallon.
Shame on you. So $4.50. Shame on you. That's not cool. Watch your mouth out. But you guys will sleep well at night knowing that these gas companies get record profits. Every year there's record profits. I think that's what we're kind of all rooting for, you know, we just want them to be happy. Yeah, yeah, so more billions for them. You know, I was thinking about it the other day and I thought, you know, is there a thing though where we're actually kind of lucky because they can do anything they want and we can't, we have to buy. It's not like bananas are $50 a banana and you go, well, I ain't eating bananas. What are you going to do?
You got to buy gas. That's when you get biodiesel. You wouldn't, though. None of us would. If it went to $7 a gallon today, Sky, we would not run out and buy a biodiesel. I would put solar panels on my house, and I would get a plug-in. How's that? What do you mean? You'd do that all today? Electric car. What do you mean? I would get an electric car. I would buy a Prius. Oh, and get a plug-in. Get the place in Poway to convert it to a plug-in. I'd have solar panels on my house, so every day I'd come home, and the sun would be power in my vehicle. Wait, you can only do that in Poway, you're saying?
Well, there's a place in Poway. Like, basically, right now, the Prius is a hybrid. No, I don't understand, honestly. Right now, the Prius is a hybrid, so it runs, you know, on gas and electric. But there's a place in Poway, I believe it's Poway, my husband was telling me about it, where they'll convert it. So you can plug it in and charge it at home so you have a battery reserve so it can run off that. Oh, it's a business in Poway that'll go anywhere in the county and build that at your house. No, they'll convert your Prius to a plug-in. Right now, Priuses are not plug-ins. Oh, I see what you're saying. And then you can plug it into, like, any wall socket? I think it's, like, 120 volt.
And then, so if you have solar panels bringing your electricity into your home. I have solar panels. Then. Sky. Then the sun is. So you're telling me. Yeah. If today they said it's $7.50 a gallon, what you would do is you would. Because right now it's cost prohibitive. Like, it's very expensive to, you know, do the solar panels and also to convert the Prius. But at $7 a gallon, I would make that money back. That would be your cutoff. Well, I don't know what my cutoff, I'd have to get out the calculator and see. I mean, I'd love to do that today. It's just expensive to do something like that.
I wonder. But once it gets out of control like that, man. I think you should do the math anyway because you might be close anyway. I could be. You could be right. I was going to say. I wonder how much it would cost to convert to do the process. Yeah. There's no way I would because I enjoy driving. Because I don't. And I have solar panels, and I'm thinking, you know? Oh, you can't. Is that what they, could you do that? Well, you would have to get a 120-volt plug wherever your car is, and I don't think your car is a, I don't know. Do you have a garage? I have a question.
I don't know much about electricity, but I know that, like, the hot tub we got works on 220. Oh, maybe it's a 220. I don't know. My husband knows all that stuff. Okay, so if it's 220, that's, like, a bigger thing. That's a fat plug. So they have to come out to your house, Sky. Probably jackhammer your something, right? Because you're going to park in the garage. Well, my hubby can do it. Okay, so your husband, yeah, he probably could, right? Yeah, because my husband's training is in electrical work. So he would throw electricity into the garage that you could plug your car into. So what does a Poway company do?
They convert the Prius. Because right now there's not a spot where you can plug in. But they do it where you can convert it. That got me thinking. That's interesting. Yeah, because it can't, you know, I mean, if you have the money up front, you know, you can definitely break even, especially with these prices getting out of control. Like, the news today is a barrel of oil is at $120 a barrel. Like, it was breaking news a month ago that it hit $100. Like, it was crazy that it hit $100. And now, just a couple months later, we're at $120?
That's nuts. And is this a deal? Like, honestly, the companies, like Chevron and stuff, because I don't understand any of this. So, no, when I'm starting to talk right now, who knows? I'm asking more than anything. They are not experiencing a shortage, no? Well, there are, like, problems. Like, the big issue today is there's refinery strikes that closed a pipeline, like something in the U.K., and refineries. So there's always some sort of excuse, but the bottom line is they're always reporting record profits in the billions.
That's just making a ton of dough. Yeah. Which is so gross. So? It's so gross. So they're definitely not hurting. You know, I don't know who's to blame, but they're not hurting by any means. Our text number is 35253. And our phone number is 5701053. Today's show, they got the family of the shark victim. swimming in the pacific is a way of life for southern californians but that routine was shattered for thousands of residents over the weekend the beaches closed along a 17-mile stretch after a huge shark attacked a swimmer more now from nbc's michael oku the fatal shark attack happened off the coast of solana beach some 14 miles northwest of san diego we're all shocked
and dismayed at the event that happened here this morning. Dr. Dave Martin, a 66-year-old retired veterinarian, had been swimming with eight other members of his triathlon club about 150 yards offshore. I was told that the victim was pushed up out of the water in a violent attack. Martin sustained a single... By the way, did I tell you guys?
I got an email from a P1 that took a picture of a baby great white that washed up on... Alive, washed up onto the shore while he was in La Jolla. He sent me pictures. And they tried to get the shark back in the water. Right. And it kept washing up. Oh. And I'm like, oh, man, they are... In the paper, it said that we just have no idea. how many hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of great whites there are out there they're there especially with all the seals in the area a lot of food a lot of food massive bite across his
thighs friends heard the screams swam to his aid and helped him onto the beach where responders would eventually rush him to a lifeguard station call for an air vac chopper and spend 20 minutes performing CPR before they would lose him. The victim was pronounced dead. The victim was dead from an attack from a large marine animal. As family members arrived, experts determined the wounds were most likely caused by a great white shark. I would say it had to have been between 12 and possibly 16 or 17 feet. Now think about how big that is.
That is a large animal. By the way, anybody listening right now has a connection to the attack or knows something or has ever seen a shark, ever been in surfing or you've been diving and you've seen something big? I'm talking something spectacular. I'm not talking about, yeah, I've been in the water before and seen, you know, little sharks. I'm talking to you seeing something crazy. 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. which is an adult white shark. The consensus, the shark may have mistaken the swimmers for a part of the sea.
They just showed a great white. But there's no mistaking the feeling in this coastal community. Shock and fear. It's horrible. For today, Michael Oku, NBC News, Los Angeles. David Martin's children, Jeff, Hannah, and Kevin, are with us to honor their father's memory this morning. One of them was surfing this weekend. Was already back in the water. Good morning to you all and our deepest condolences. Jeff, if I could start with you. Your dad was attacked by what is believed to have been a great white shark about 150 yards offshore. I know that he was an avid triathlete. How often did he go to the beach to practice his swimming? Well, this was a weekly swim. Every Friday morning, the San Diego Triathlon Club would meet, and they would typically do their swim. They'd enter the water here and swim about a half mile down, turn around and swim back.
By the way, if there's anybody listening that knows the family and can, we'd love to talk to you. Love to talk about, you know, what your experience has been like. 570-1053, if you know somebody, give us a call. Weekly occurrence at the least. And how many years have you been doing it? He's been involved with triathlon probably for four or five years now. Guy looked in shape, man. Looked healthy. Hannah, I know that you're a swimmer as well. Had you ever heard of a great white shark attacking in that area of the beach?
And had your father ever expressed any concerns about sharks? Never, never did we ever expect anything like this. I remember my dad joking around about something like that once. Don't even joke about that because we never, ever in a million years thought that this would happen, Especially here, because we grew up here, you know, I swam through here since I was, since I can remember. You know, I understood Kevin that his... They're showing the aerial shots of Solana Beach, and it's not like Hawaii where you can see right through the water. Here in San Diego, when you look at the water, it's kind of green.
You can't really see through it all that well. I'm thinking to myself, I'm looking at the same thing these helicopter pilots are looking at. In fact, the footage I'm looking at shot from a helicopter. How are they going to find that shark? They've been looking for it all weekend long, but how are they going to find it? And when they do, what are they going to do? Right. The concern was the... Go ahead, Skye. Well, I did hear this weekend, because we were talking about this on Friday, like, if they find the shark, are they going to try and kill it? And they said no, that they weren't planning on killing it. If they found it, they just wanted to know its location and get a better estimate of its size. And that's why they were looking for it. That's the only reason they were looking, so they could tell us more about it.
They weren't going to put a tracker on it. Yeah, man. I'm not going to kill it, no. the water being really cold, not a shark attacking. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he was, I guarantee the last thing in his mind and anyone's mind was something like that happening and it's caught us really off guard. Kevin, everything that I have heard and read about your dad in the past few days tells me that he was a great guy, a man who loved swimming, loved the ocean and the beach and his family very much.
How do you want him to be remembered? You know, we really appreciate as a family the positive light that the media has been putting on him. And, you know, we just want him to be remembered as the great, loving family man that he was. And we all love him very much, and we will miss him very much. Yeah, he was an amazing person. He was the rock of our family and taught me so many lessons. And I was just glad that I got to, you know, spend 18 years looking up to him. So, you know, glad I got that time with him.
I keep reading that. He seemed like a real neat guy. People really seemed to like the guy. And I told you earlier, we had dinner with a gal Saturday night, a friend of ours, Wendy. And she knows somebody that was in the water at the time with him. And actually helped us swim over, grab him, bring him to shore. And, yeah, she was a part of that nine. Wow. I got a call or I got an email from P1 Ryan, and his connection was they're friends with somebody that is in that group of people. Couldn't make it that morning.
Oh, wow. Couldn't make it Friday morning. Was going to be in the water with them that day. Ooh, that's. Yeah. I mean, how does that affect you? Yeah. You know, my mom said, when I told my mom about it, she said, you know, how is that gal? I said, I don't know. You know, I said, I know her friend, that's who we were talking to, so I don't know how she's doing. And I was thinking about it, I was like, how would that affect you? You know, like. It's like knowing you're going to be on, you know, miss a flight and the flight crashes. I mean, it probably changes your life. Yeah, because, you know, like same thing with the flight. The odds of that happening are so astronomical.
Same thing with something like this. The odds are like that it's not going to happen. So when you're in the water and something like that does. P1 Craig is on the line. Are you there, Craig? Yeah. Craig, you're a surfer, right? Yes, I am. What happened with you? Oh, it was about two years ago. I was surfing basically pipes. It's the area just south of Swamis. And it was, you know, a semi-small day. Not a whole lot of swell. Very calm. And I was just surfing with one other body. There's maybe 20 guys to the south of us, maybe 200 yards or so. And then up at Swamis, there's the normal group of guys.
And we had just been surfing, and, you know, I kind of glanced out of the corner of my eye, and I saw a pretty good-sized, dark, triangular shadow out of the corner of my eye. And, you know, at first I thought, dolphin, no big deal. And then as another swell rolled through, I got another good glimpse at it, and it looked to be about a foot and a half out of the water, pretty large, broad, triangular fin. And right then I, you know, I see dolphins all the time, and I said, that's not a dolphin. That's much bigger, completely different shape of the fin.
As the next swell rolled through, he was swimming from south to north in the side of the swell, and I got nothing but just the entire broadside view of this thing and what I would estimate between a 12- and 14-foot great white, slowly cruising too far. Dude, the paper said they're there and that they see the surfers all the time, and they're just usually not interested. No, I could tell by the shark's behavior. I mean, I also commercial fish for years. And this thing just didn't seem to be interested in me at all.
He just kept cruising north. And right about then, my buddy... Eddie is shaking his head. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Dying just from fear. Yes, yes. And, dude, what's crazy is... So, wait a minute. Did you say that you were sitting on your board at the time? Yeah, I was just sitting there waiting for a set. So you know what he must look like to the, you know what I mean? Did you get right out of there? Yeah, yeah, we did. But, you know, I always kind of went through in my mind, you know, I know that they're always there. You know, you don't see them, but, you know, they're always there regardless.
And I always kind of went in the back of my mind, you know, well, what would I do if I actually saw something like this? And it was really strange because as soon as I saw it, I mean, my body just kind of went calm. And I just went into almost like a relaxed mode and just kind of slowly turned around. I motioned to my buddy who was, his eyes were like the size of saucers at that point. And I said, hey, man. I can't even imagine it. I can't even imagine seeing the broadside getting a full view. And you realize you're in the water. Yeah, how far away were you from the Great White? It was probably about 20 to 30 yards. No, good night, Eileen.

I'm talking about she was at the game. She was actually eating a hot dog. We don't take any stand like that. You know, we're all about the environment. We're about protecting the whales, the trees and stuff like that. So you don't care that I'm wearing a rattlesnake belt right now? The Mikey Show continues on The Rock.
Welcome back. It's a Mikey show. It is 9.03. A fire that broke out yesterday in Sereno Valley burned over 100 acres. The Padres give Jake Peavy no help as they lose to the Diamondbacks 2-1 yesterday. Mikey, the sharks are going to be around San Diego because of all the seals at the children's pool. There's now a permanent food source for the sharks.
The seals are a new thing. I used to go there as a kid, and there were no seals there. And you have these idiots that are protecting these seals. See, I don't know, though, man. I mean, it seems to me like maybe sharks would have been around forever here. I don't know. Maybe they have been. Maybe they haven't. I think they have. You think they do, too? I don't know if you could say that there's only sharks here because of children's pool. It doesn't make sense. Maybe there's, you know, some. What, Eddie? Well, I'm thinking about it. Eddie believes that there's black and whites out there.
Eddie, there are no orcas around. Listen, that's not true. We've got phone calls that said they've seen them around here. All right, off of Point Loma. That's true. They did see killer whales. And if there's a food source for them, I'm sure they're coming back. Well, but isn't there always a food source? Well, not only that, but we haven't heard about a lot of, you know, killer whale attacks here. It's the media. They're hiding it is what you're saying? So you believe that the killer whale attacks are happening out there every day. I'm not going to go so far as saying every day, Mike.
Okay, okay. No, you're upsetting it, Mike. You're upsetting it. Okay, okay. It could be. I don't know. Mikey, great whites are protected animals, so they wouldn't have been able to kill it even if they wanted to. Oh, smarty pants. P1 Fonz. Mikey, just to give you a little perspective, a 12-foot shark is three B-robs standing on top of each other. Oh, that's a great visual. Oh, wow. It's really good. Yeah. I was going to say five B-robs, but okay. A mini-mini. Mikey, I was on a Navy ship that did swim call.
The shark came in from the opposite side of the ship, swam under, and surfaced in the middle of approximately 40 sailors. Oh, out of the water. Get out of the water. Let's see. Speaking of orcas, P1 Josh is on the line. Josh, are you there? Yes, I'm here, Mikey. Your dad saw a couple, right? Yeah, he did. My dad used to be a scuba diving instructor. Eddie just closed his eyes and put his hand over his mouth. I don't know if Eddie should listen to this.
Well, okay, my dad, he told me this story a little while ago, and he was off the coast of Dana Point, I believe. He was scuba diving, free diving with some other fishermen, or some other scuba divers, and he had a spear gun, and he was just going after, you know, fish. So he said he was with his brother, and they just, they seen something move in the water. And so they kind of swam towards it, and there was a rock formation, and I guess they kind of went behind that, and then they saw the two black and whites pass by about 50 yards away. And he said it was trippiest thing he's ever seen, like, in the water.
Because he's seen great whites and other sharks in there, but he said that was probably the most hair-raising experience because they were so big. Holy Toledo. I bet it was a beautiful sight. Oh, yeah. And, you know, all he had was a spirit. Eddie looks like he's going to die. Eddie's got both hands over his face Eyes closed And he's just trying to get that thought out of his head You've put a thought in his head That is going to be hard to remove He doesn't like that Well this was a long time ago So I'm sure those whales are long gone by now Oh really? Yeah
He'll never come back He's the Eddie He's just trying to help him Maybe their kids will come back You know To follow the same path But you know It won't be that bad Stop talking Unreal Oh hey Come on Don't lash out at him We've met P1 Spencer before Spencer is a photographer, cameraman for NBC 739. He was on the scene at the attack. Are you there, Spencer? Hi, good morning. Yeah. Good to talk to you again. How are you, man? Doing good, doing good. So you were called out there that day? Yeah, we were out there that day.
We came down. But actually, part of the thing that we were back down here this morning, and we were talking to one of the first responders this morning, and he was saying something interesting that he saw that they got here at four in the morning to do some work on the cliff, and they had seen a seal that had come up out of the water and was up against the bluff trying to stay away from water.
And he said in hindsight, they were thinking, you know, the seal obviously knew that the shark was out there and was trying to get as far away from the water as he could. Now, when was that? That was at like four in the morning. Today? Yeah, no, no, no. This was the day of. Oh, the day of. The day of on Friday. Wow. Yeah, they were doing construction. Wow. We've been watching this morning, and I haven't seen, or maybe I have, and I'm just not paying attention. You guys have been out, have you guys been doing live shots this morning, Spencer? Yeah, yeah, we were live from five to seven.
Is it, who's... Today's show took over. Oh, I gotcha. Who's doing the reporting? Mari, Mari Payton. Are you guys still out there? Yeah, we're still out here right now. We're just kind of trying to follow the story, trying to, we're talking to some of the people that were there. They opened the beach this morning, officially. Are there people out there, like, in the water? Yeah, there are. There's people, like, first thing this morning, there were surfers coming running out here and going surfing and kayakers. And there's, yeah, there's people out there.
You couldn't pay me enough. Couldn't pay me enough to do it. Yeah. Unreal. All right, Spencer, thank you. Sure. Appreciate the phone call, man. Yeah, so he was out there. So this Miley Cyrus thing is blowing up. Dude, what is going on? Dude, it's blowing up. It's like, it's one of the biggest stories right now. What's the deal? Well, Miley, Miley, Miley, Miley, Miley, Miley Cyrus. You guys are familiar with Miley Cyrus. He's my favorite. Skye, why are people so freaked out?
What did she do? Okay, well, so this all started over a week ago when these pictures started coming out and all the, you know, tabloids and all the tabloid websites and everything. And they were of Miley Cyrus and kind of a little scandalous with little tank tops. showing the top part of her bra and whatever, and since... I saw the picture. Oh, you did? This is what you... Okay, so let me try to describe what the picture looks like. It looked to me like she was in a studio, and she is wearing a tank top, and she's taking the strap of the tank top with her index finger
and pulling it to the side so that you can see that underneath, she's got on a green bra. Ooh, hello. Now, it looks like your typical kind of, you know. Any girl that age who's kind of starting to experiment with life and becoming a woman and whatever. What's so strange is that there, it's a debate. Is it her or is it not her? Which made me really think to myself, how bizarre that we're living in a time where we can look at a photograph and be like, hmm, is that them or not?
Like, I looked at them like, it's Miley Cyrus. Well, since then, she has now issued a statement regarding those saying that they were silly, inappropriate, she appreciates the support, she's going to make mistakes, she's not perfect, she's truly sorry if she disappointed anybody. So that's that whole thing. So she issued that statement, and that kind of put it to rest, even though it's still out there. Now, let me touch on that for a second, because Skye first brought the story up about a week ago. And I said, you know what? Let's wait till we know it's her.
I said, and we're probably going to know. Yeah, because at that point, we didn't know if it was her or not. And, you know, there's been things in the past where it looks like a certain celebrity, but then it ends up it's not. And her people weren't commenting on it. So at that point, we weren't 100% sure. And I said, you know what? We will know. I think that one way or another, it's going to be like, it turns out to be some random chick that looks like Mimey Mimey, and we find out about it, or it turns out to actually be Simey Myrus. So, that was that whole deal.
Right. Well, this morning, there's a whole new fiasco. I guess she did an interview with Vanity Fair and a photo shoot for Vanity Fair with Annie Leibovitz doing the photos. Who's, you know, a huge, you know, photographer, celebrity photographer. Annie just celebrated her 143rd birthday over the weekend. Happy birthday, Annie. And so, you know, her family was there during the photo shoot. There's pictures of her and her dad. There's pictures of her in jeans and a tank top and a cute little dress. Well, one of the pictures, and I believe this is actually the picture that Vanity Fair is going to run on the cover,
from what I understand, is Miley Cyrus. And what it looks like is that she is naked. I saw it. Did you see it? Yeah. They were showing it this morning on Today Show. It's a flash for a second. What it looks like is that she is naked and just wrapped in a sheet, just draped in a sheet covering the top. Now, if you look at the excerpts from the photo shoot. Now, explain how it looks, though. Okay, so she's sitting there, and it looks like she's completely topless, and she's just covering the breasticle, the front half, with a sheet, and she's, you know, kind of looking over her shoulder, looking all kind of coy. So what you see is that you see a bare back.
Yes, a bare back, yeah. Sweet. And so, but when you do look at the excerpts from the photo shoot, you know, she is clothed. She does have jeans on, you know. It's not like she's completely, like, naked running around in a sheet or whatever. How old is she? She's 15, I believe. Yeah, 15. What? Okay, this is my question. I'm going to ask everybody. Do you get it? Like, I don't get it. You don't get what? Okay, if we're talking Angelina Jolie. Oh, I see. Okay. Okay? And they do the same photograph with Angelina Jolie. Yes.
I get it because she's an adult woman. She's very beautiful. The world sees her as sexy. And so she's doing this photograph that is suggestive and sexy. Right. She's an adult woman. Yeah. Okay. I don't get it. Yeah. With Miley Cyrus. Like, I'm trying to put myself in the Annie Leibovitz. Yeah. Of asking her to pose like that. Like, does anyone get it? Like, I just want to hear the explanation of, like, well, what we're doing is we're showing the beauty of a naked 15-year-old? Oof, I'm uncomfortable.
Like, I don't get it. I don't want to see that. She's 15. I don't get it. So she posed for the photos. Her family was there. Her reps were there. Everybody was there. Everybody was fine with it. And then the photos came out, and Miley has just issued a statement saying that she regrets it and that she is now embarrassed by those photos, and she thought they were going to be artistic, but now she feels embarrassed. And now Disney is issuing a statement by it saying that they feel that the magazine Vanity Fair acted inappropriately and deliberately manipulated Miley for them to be able to sell more magazines. so now everybody's backing away from this photo even though the day of the photo shoot all the
family was there everybody was there everybody was fine with it they thought it was artistic but now everybody's embarrassed and feels manipulated yeah i think like we're talking about it which is i think all they were trying to do with that i don't think there's any good way that they could say you know we took this picture of miley cyrus who's 15 years old there's no good way to say it where it's not there is no explanation like there isn't but but if you take a picture of miley cyrus good christian girl good values kids lover and you do that you know it's going to cause a stir and now we wouldn't be talking about if it was just miley cyrus and i totally get that uh explanation if it was a vanity fair photographer but what was annie
lebowitz motivation she's huge she's famous here's the deal she photographs babies why is she i'll explain this is the way they do it they meaning vanity fair they commission as private The contractors, photographers, they do have people on staff, but they oftentimes will allow the Annie Leibovitz of the world or even the what was the Andy Warhol would do paintings for them. And so they'll go get these big name photographers to do a piece for them. And so they must have hired Annie Leibovitz to do these photographs. Totally agree.
It was probably Leibovitz's idea, which brings me back to your thing. What's her motivation? Was it her idea or was it Vanity Fair's idea? Or was it Vanity Fair in her ear? But then again, if, you know, I don't know Annie Leibovitz, but I would be like, if Vanity Fair's in her ear and she thinks it's inappropriate, I don't think she'd do it. Yeah, like, well, hey, listen. I don't know, but. Dude, Billy Ray Cyrus was standing there, her dad, and he was like, yeah, sure. Right? So, I don't know. What if it's her motivation to maybe start moving away from the Disney stuff and move into more serious adult things? But why would she want to do that?
Well, check it out. I don't know that I would be on board with it, but let's say that that's the deal. If that's the deal, you would think there would be enough people around to be like, okay, but you're not going to do that. That's why I'm shocked that adults had the idea. I don't get it. I'm just trying to wrap my mind around the idea of the concept of doing it. Like, how was it pitched that they were like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, 15-year-old girl looks naked wearing a sheet? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sounds good to me. Well, that's why I almost believe the accusation that they are doing, like, they're accusing Vanity Fair of, like, trying to expose Miley Cyrus and make her and, like, trick her into taking this photo shoot. That almost sounds believable to me because it's almost seems like. What's the trick, though? Like, what do you say? Like, give me a possible what they actually said and what we're looking like. They could have been like, you know, listen, Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus, Vanity Fair is a very respectable magazine. We're going to do these in a very classy way. It's going to look artistic.
This photographer is one of the best in the biz, and it's going to be a respectable artistic shoot, and people will look past. Let me be Billy Ray Cyrus, and you be that person. Okay, I got a question. Go, go, go, go. Let's get on. Go, go, go. Hang on. Now, you're telling me you're going to take bitching my daughter and you're going to wrap a sheet around her? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Black and white, it'll be really just unique. And you said it's going to be artistic? Yeah, I mean, you're going to see it. Yeah, but you said she's going to be naked. But the sheet is going to completely cover up anything that would be nude.
You ain't going to see the hoo-hahs in it, right? No, no, no, no, that will be completely covered up. What we're going for is a more artistic angle. Let me ask my brother Ned. Oh, okay. Ned. You've been standing out here the whole time, man. What do you think, man? I think Mila looks real good. No, wait a minute, wait a minute. We are going for that. We're looking for more artistic. You're hoping he'll slip into something more comfortable. Like a coma. It's Mikey.

company that i had called for before so what had happened was it was the lady that i had called to get a better quote from called in day is to get a new quote so the lady who works for your old insurance company heard that you got a better deal with AIS and she then switched over to AIS. Hey, it's Mikey for Amco. I'm the type of person that likes to know exactly what I'm going to get before I get into it. That's why I always, whenever I'm doing any kind of endorsement, I always check them out before I pass it on to you, the P1s. I'm telling you, you can trust Amco. When you go into Amco, they will diagnose an engine light problem before you ever have to pay for it, it's free for them to diagnose it. They're not going to fix anything that isn't broken. And don't forget the fact that Amco does transmissions, brakes, oil changes. Now, you may be saying to yourself, why Amco?
Why would I go to Amco and not take it to the dealership? Well, first of all, the experience. The experience in the database, they hook up with all these other Amcos with guys that know exactly what problems are going on, And when they experience something that they don't know about, which isn't often, they can go on there and figure it out. Amco is the only place you want to go. It's Amco. Double A. Beep, beep. M-C-O. The Mikey Show. Now some you might have missed. Time to play the Mikey Show Battle of the Sexes. Amy Winehouse was released from police custody this weekend with a warning after she head-butted a guy. NBA playoffs yesterday, New Orleans, Phoenix, Cleveland, and Detroit all won. Nice to have you here. Our text number is 35253. Nobody dances like that anymore, Eddie. Eddie's an odd dance, Eddie is doing right now. I don't know what that is. He was doing what? That this weekend. Does it look like this weekend? Was he doing that this weekend?
I was doing that dance this weekend. Oh, you were doing that dance this weekend. Heck yeah. Where were you doing it at? At the golf course. What is he talking about? Were you doing what you're doing at the golf course? I'm really confused. Yeah, what's going on? Were you caddying for someone? Yeah, picked up a good job. What's going on? What were you doing? Oh, he was robbing rich golfers. Oh, that's true. What did you do? I was at the driving range. Come on. Were you really? Honest to God, dude.
Come on. I smell the next challenge. Ah. Yeah. You should maybe check out how long I can hit the ball first, dude. I'm telling you. I was a natural. Come on, Rob. I was a natural. I mean, I might have looked a little weird. I was just in a wife beater and I was smoking cigarettes right there. No, you weren't. No, you weren't. I'm not even allowed. I promise you. Well, I was wearing my Kevin Garnett jersey, but it got hot, so. What are you talking about, Peter? Okay, start from the beginning. Well, first of all, you need to know, if you've never listened to the show, Boston Rob, covered in tattoos. He's got the word Boston tattooed on his neck.
Right, because that's where he's from. Yes, that's right. Bit of an idiot. And wants the world to know that he is a dirtbag. He's got that look about him that screams dirtbag. But he's a good guy. We love him very much. And so, Rob, what started at the beginning? Well, my fiance is big into golf. Uh-huh. She's always been. Okay. So we've kind of tossed it back and forth. You know, she's like, I want to take you to the driving range. And I've always kind of said no because I'm scared. I don't want to be embarrassed in front of her. I've never hit a golf ball in my life.
So finally, she got a tee time. Is that what you call it? No, if you're just going to the driving range, you don't need a tee time. I have no idea. This is for when you actually play on the course. Let's go ahead and take two. Oh, man, I thought it was like when you take a break from the golf, you go into the clubhouse, you get a big glass of tea. You're really hard. I have no idea. Yeah, a little sweet tea. It's real nice. It did. Great. So either way, put a little extra ice in that, all right? Hey, Ashley, you don't pay for yours, okay? This one is on me, okay? I'd like to send a little tea to that fresh honey right over there.
She's beautiful, okay? I think she's exquisite. That's right. She's a real clown. Classy girl, okay? I love her. Thank you, Bauman. I love her. A masterpiece. That's right. She's like my own personal Mona Lisa. Yeah, dude. Okay? Justine Chapel. That's right. Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't change a thing. Oh, thank you. So there you are. You're out there with your fiance. You're wearing a Kevin Garnett jersey. Yes. Some shorts. They wouldn't let you on the courts just so you know. So he's at the driving range.
Okay, so there you are at the driving. I'm just letting you know. Eddie, would they not? Absolutely not. I have no idea. Is there a dress code? Yeah, you got to wear a college shirt. I did not know this information. Most courses have dress codes. Really? Okay, so you got to wear a college shirt. Can you wear shorts? Yeah, you can wear shorts. But you must have a college shirt, like a polo, polo type of thing. Yeah, and a lot of courses say no denim. No denim. Yeah, you can't wear like jeans or like jean shorts. What about feet? tire? A lot of courses
will have rules of wearing the proper golf shoes. So you can't just go out there in like high tops. Can't be like golf. Or slews. Right, Sean? I'm sure you're aware of that. It would be very tough for Sean. I have slew golf shoes. Oh, okay. Sweet. You're overweight. I don't know that. Wait a second. That was the strangest. I'm working on it. I think that it would be very difficult for Sean to find slew golf shoes. They really do?
Yes, they got slip-on golf shoes. How cute. We should talk after the show. Hit the course. There you go. So, you go out there and you started hitting some balls around. Yeah. Oh, that had to be a sight. It was. Well, I'm sure you had to use your ladies' clubs, right? No, I borrowed Mikey's. You did? Yeah. You borrowed Mikey's? Oh, Mike, you let him borrow them? I did not. Did you know you had golf clubs? Apparently, I let my golf clubs. Did you know you had golf clubs?
Yes, I did. Yes, I did. They are awesome. You just went in the office and took them? Well, I did ask him on Friday, but he probably don't remember that. I did not. Wow. I did not. Wow. No way. Did you have to, like, saw him in half? Great. Perfect type for him. Can you choke up on golf clubs there? Is that the way it works? But before I went on ESPN2, I think it was, they had the infomercial for the Medicus Golf Club. What is he saying?
There's some infomercial for a golf club, and it's, like, telling you how to swing. So I watched that for, like, 20 minutes to see, like, how they swung. Yeah, I had to watch it. I don't know. I've never, like, seen how you swing a golf club. Right. My fiance thought I was going to kill someone. Because I was swinging it like a baseball bat. And at the end, I was letting it go. Oh, boy. You happy Gilmore. Did you actually make contact with the ball? Dude, my father's one was over 150 yards. Eddie, is that bad?
Is that bad? Is that good? It's my first one. I don't even know what that means. It's not bad, especially for a first-timer. But he was claiming earlier, You better be careful to see how far I hit it. I hit it much further. How much? I don't know. What's good? About 100 yards further than that. So 250? Maybe. Okay. I would love to see you guys do that. Rob, you should practice up and we'll do a challenge. Dude, I'd love to. I had so much fun. You would love to. I've been playing golf for 15 years. You realize that? I've been playing for about five minutes. Okay. He picks up things quickly.
I'm fine with this challenge. Oh, I would love to see it. I would love to. Anything you want to do? Chip off? Well, let me go a couple more times. Anything he wants to do golf-related, I will gladly take it on. I was using the number three and that five, fiver. The fiver? I like the fiver. Oh, yeah. The one was a good one. The one with the P on it. That's my favorite. Well, that's just a pitching wedge, Rob. Yeah, but I'm really good at that one. Well, it's your size. So stupid. I'm really good at that one. It's like a toothbrush.
It's really... It's like a toothpick. Oh, boy. It's fantastic. You got to be, the one thing I don't like, you got to kind of be quiet there. There's a guy right next to me who's getting lessons, and I'm like, watch out, four, screaming. And then I'd like, I don't know how you explain it, but I'd like hit it, and I'd hit like the top of the ball, so it would just shoot straight up. And I'd like run. It's called topping it. Yeah, yeah, I'd run straight out, and I'd try to dive and grab it. Because I do what, I paint for the ball. Dude, there's other people hitting. What are you doing? You can't do that. It's like a game.
Can you believe that? It's crazy. I didn't want to waste the ball. It was like 20 feet in front of me. So I didn't want to burn a ball, you know? Oh, I would give anything to have that on YouTube so I can watch it. Oh, absolutely. I want to go again this weekend. I had so much fun. Hey, listen. This week, there's a golf center right down the street. What? Right down the street. Yeah, dude. It's like when you're getting on 15 down. Right behind Fry's. Yes. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. For real. We'll go out and hit some balls this week. Dude, I want to go. Yeah. Let's go.
We can, you bring your video camera, bring Assy's video camera. Oh, I'll go and I'll videotape. All right. I'm in. I'll go home and take a nap. Hey, hey, hey, we gotta get, like, full-on golf clothes, though, if we're going, like, I want, yeah, I want that. You gotta have the hat, dude. I gotta get knickers. I'll bring you a shirt, Rob. Okay, cool. Oh, my gosh, I love it. I love it. I love it. Oh, no. It was a blast, though. So, in the morning, I have people, I have everybody on the show, they write me, and they tell me what's going on in their lives so that we can talk about stuff on the air.
And Sean wrote me about this stuff. You guys will remember this too. When we used to work at the station that we worked at before here, KSJO, there used to be this Vietnamese guy that would come around in a roach coach. Oh, gochee! Yummy, yummy! Yummy, yummy! Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That guy would come around every morning, and Sean, because he was Vietnamese, some of his customers would be Vietnamese, and he would have this real bizarre stuff in ice that people would buy. Oh, man.
Remember that drink? Dude. That one time? That's what Sean would drink, and it had, like, Sean would buy this disgusting drink in a can. Excuse me. Oh, Sean, stop it. With, like, foreign letters? Oh, yeah. It was, like, all. That was the problem you had with it, is that it had foreign letters on it. The drink itself was great. What is this? Dude, check it out, check it out, check it out. That's rad. Ash, it had little balls in it. Yeah. What kind of balls? Like little, like they were like... Chew balls?
Yeah, like jello balls. Yeah, it was gelatin. Like those balls that you get in those bobo drinks? Like tapioca. Tapioca balls. No, no, not like those. Tapioca balls. Like monkey balls. Yeah. Sean. I'm confused. So Sean says that he really likes this Japanese drink called Calpico. Mike, it's the best drink in the world. How would you ever know? Have you ever been to Japan? Has he been to Japan? I don't know. He said, this sounds so gross.
Listen to this. It's a milky non-carbonated soda. Milky. Oh, dude. It sounds so... I can't even envision that. I know it. And you know that that can's got to be so strange, you know? Right, right. Although, Sean does enjoy milk, so... Well, yeah, so Sean, do you put a little salt in there? A little salt in there? This drink is actually very sweet. And it's, yeah, it's like a milky, soft drink.
That doesn't even compute in my head. Yeah, how do you get that? Milk is soft. If you go to calpico.com, I want to see www.calpico.com. Is it like Laverne when she would mix the Pepsi with the milk? Exactly. No, it's not. Well, you said soda and milk. I didn't say soda. I'm the jerk. I'm the jerk. I did not say soda and milk. I said it's a milky, non-carbonated soft drink.
It looks just like milk. It does. I'm looking at it. Let me see. Ready to drink. Calpico. Concentrate. I got my little one right here. What is the website? I'm at some investment. Calpico, C-A-L-P-I-C-O.com. I left out the L. Oh, nice, like, Hello Kitty on the front of it. Hello Kitty's the bomb. Dude, it's got like a little Hello Kitty on it. It's a promotion they're doing. Oh, Sean, Hello. Where are the balls?
Shut up, dude. Sean, is it yellow? The one that I have. What flavor do you like? Dude, Sean, were you drinking out of that Hello Kitty bottle? You like the mango one, Sean? Oh, my gosh. The mango one's yellow. It's a promotion that they're having, dude. Why are you yelling at me? He's walking around with a Hello Kitty bottle. Where are the balls? Excuse me. With one of those curly straws? Yeah. Shut up. You have one of those? Shut up. What's up?
It's not a Hello Kitty bottle, dude. It is. There's Hello Kitty right there on the front. Hello Kitty is on that bottle. I'm convinced that Gerber baby's on the front. The other side of it. It looks like Kitty McMill on the front. Excuse me. Excuse me. Normally, they don't have that on there. It's a promotion that they're doing for a limited time. Does it come with a diaper? Do you see that there's a section to make cocktails with this stuff? No, there's not. Calpico and red wine? No.
That's disgusting. That's disgusting. Milk and red wine. Calpico and sake? It's milk with a Hello Kitty on the couch. How about Calpico bread pudding? Calpico milkshake. Stop, please. Shortcake. I'm a human being. Don't forget Calpico in your Cap'n Crunch. Oh, okay. Calpico make you happy. Yeah. Calpico make you a child. Oh, yummy. You become a child. Yeah. That's why we put a Hello Kitty.
There's nothing wrong with it. Oh, there he is. There he is. Hello, kitty. Shut up, dude. It's not always on there, man. Instead, it's like, what, Rainbow Brite or what? So he eats baby food and drinks Hello Kitty juice. Sean, have you gone through this website to see how this is made? Yeah. No, no, no. Where, where, where? Where are you? Send me the link. Come on, he enjoys it. What'd you click on? What'd you click on? About Calpico? Yes. Click on About Calpico. And then there's how it's made. You're already freaking...
He's on his internet right now. Sean, don't do it. You enjoy it. Shut up. I'm looking. Hold on. What is it? Frequently asked questions or a history of Calpico or how Calpico Concentrate is made? It's made. It's like very scientific and scary. Let's see. Let's see. He's a great visual with that. An original starter is added to nonfat milk, a proprietary yeast, and Lycoballicus starter is added to nonfat milk. And Calpico, that's available to our consumers today, is derived after going through two fermentation processes.
Yummy. It gets worse. First, the lacobalitis cultures the nonfat milk and thereby turns it into cultured milk. Get ready to vomit, Eddie. Yeah, cultures are living in there. Here, cultured milk is then slowly aged to perfection. Art visual. Dude, and the visual that they're showing you is a little animated bunch of like by, you know, like molecules. Well, no, but they're like, it's bacteria, like bacteria, little animated. In the second fermentation process, sugar is added in together with the yeast.
They give Calpico its unique taste and aroma. Oh, I don't see what the big deal is. Calpico concentrate is packed into paper cartons and tightly sealed. Well, I hope so. Yeah. Look, he's saying it's okay. It takes about two weeks to make Calpico concentrate. Yeah. Under stringent hygienic management. Well, it has to be because they're dealing with bacteria. Of course, in cultured milk.
Under stringent hygienic management, the products are constantly checked for quality and safety. I'll stick with Dr. Pepper. Oh, dude. He drinks the strangest things. It's really good. Sean, how did you try it the first time? First time, we were in Hawaii, as a matter of fact. And I was at one of those ABC markets, and I saw it there, and I thought, it looks good. I'll try it. It looks good. It doesn't look good.
It does look good. Yellow, creamy, milky, yeasty. No, that's only the mango one. Excuse me, that's only the mango one. If you get the original Calpico, it's white. Bacterialese. What's wrong with what's so awful about white? It's a soft drink made of milk. If it's not milk, then I don't want it. 570-1053-35253 is our number. It tastes good. Where are the balls? It's like horchata gone horribly wrong. No, the balls are in the Vietnamese drink he used to drink. Totally different drinks.
They're not even in this drink. It's the wheatgrass gelatin drink that I used to have. Yes, that is true. It was little gelatin balls. So foul. And wheatgrass. So good. P1 Mike. Hey, how you guys doing today? What's up? Hey, that drink is actually delicious. I lived in Japan for like 12 years. I'll bring some by the... I'll bring some by the... No, thank you. We're good. No, thank you. No, thank you. No, thank you. No, thank you. No, thank you. No, thank you. No, thank you. No, thank you. I will try some if Skye tries some. Oh, they're interested in it.
They'll not be trying it. They have like a strawberry flavor, a mango, the white one. I'll try some if she tries some. No, I will not try it. Skye, please. Skye, you have to. Mike, what time can you be here? Oh, no. Awesome. I'm not. Why is this one on me? Whatever time you guys want. Yeah, well, let's do it, I don't know, Eddie, what's a good time? I'm not trying it. Tomorrow at this time. Tomorrow at this time. 9.30 tomorrow morning. I'm not trying it. I'll be there at 9.30 tomorrow morning. Thank you very much. Sky will try Calpico. I say no thank you. I say konichiwa. He won Sophia. Hi, how? Hello.
Hi, how are you? What just happened? How are you? I'm not trying. Good. Hey, I was wondering, while you were on hold, did you hear that Sky's going to be trying Calpico tomorrow? This is unbelievable. It's unbelievable. We just did a test class. Hey, get Spencer from 739 down here. It's not going to be bad. I mean, that's the same kind of stuff. It's going to be horrific, is what you're saying. It's going to be horrific. What's it taste like? I've never tried it. I just wanted to say like that. Come on. You haven't even tried it. You should try it out loud. Sophia. I'm upset.
Please. I'm interested in that aroma. Dude. That interesting aroma. maybe i can't believe sky's gonna drink it yeah a whole bottle you can do this sky you can do this mikey show it's mikey there's a thing about these uh those drinks and stuff um well there's a there's usually like a little guy on the side that has like a little thumbs up or an okay sign whenever you see those little characters.
It means the beverage is good. It's like something that people are, like they researched it and people agree that it's a great beverage. Hey, 100 billion people could agree, dude. That don't mean I'm drinking milk that stinks. It says, dude, special aroma. I know what that is. You know what? Everything has an aroma, dude. This guy's drooling. She can't wait. I'm excited, Skye. Skye, you can do this. I'm not doing it. You can do it.
Skye, tomorrow morning you're going to have some Cal Pico. And then Eddie will follow suit. I'll take one. I'll bring mine, Skye. Oh, no, you will not. No, you won't. Here's the Mikey Show. Oh, my heart is pounding like Thor's hammer on Dr. Doomsday King-infused face paint. Rock 105.3. Thank you. Come again. So how's it going tonight? Not too bad. So two burritos, chips, and a 12 pack. Yep. I suppose you want to see my ID. No, no, it's cool. No, no, no, no. It's all right. Ever since I got my hair colored at Supercuts, I realized I'm looking pretty young. Huh, dude?

He said he wouldn't. He said it sounds gross. Well, then I'm with Pedro. I won't either. He's a cricket. He's a cricket. I won't either then. And Pedro's, you know, right now he's pretty, he's living the high life. Really? Well, yeah, he's pretty high on the fact that he has effectively gotten the company to rename Coors Amphitheater to be Cricket Wireless Theater. Well, it's from all the savings that he's getting with his new $35 rate plan.
Which is a great plan. He's invested. Yep, you get unlimited talk, text, and U.S. long distance with no contract, all for $35. So with all that extra savings, he's purchased Coors Amphitheater. It's pretty awesome. And renamed it Pedro Cricket Amphitheater. I heard that what he did was he took all the savings and he put it in a jar until he had enough to rename Coors Amphitheater. Pretty sweet. Yeah, he would every once in a while, like every week, he would take the money out and say, you know, do I have enough yet? Do I have enough yet? And then finally he did. Let me get this right. Bruno's Cricket Wireless Amphitheater.
No, no, no, no. It's just Cricket Wireless Amphitheater. Oh, he's so nice and caring. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Selfless, really. Selfless Cricket. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a selfless Cricket. Altruistic. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So there you go. What is the website, Skye? It is mycricket.com slash San Diego. Bud Light presents Real Men of Genius. We'll be right back. Did you even know the radio was back on? Radio! Oh, my gosh, this is crazy.
Now you're on the radio. Whoa! Oh, my gosh. Hey. Yeah. All right, then. And click. I want to watch that movie Sky lent me. Watch it already. What movie? Lars and the Real Girl. I thought you were going to watch it. I was. I was. Well, I put aside time. And then? I put aside time yesterday. And then? I ended up. Oh, I know what I ended up doing.
Oh, I don't want to say. It's so, I don't want to say. What did you do, Mike? Dropped the aerosol on the toilet? No. What? No, I ordered cosmetics, practically, like a girl. What? I had to order online A lot of product Men's moisturizer I feel so feminine doing it You said peanuts and Cracker Jack That was William Hung singing at the baseball game That's right Well, I put this lotion on my face I put lotion on my face
I do, I do I know I know, I know I know. And listen. I just hate you and I hate your ass face. Now, here's the deal. I understand. I understand that most men do not do this. I understand that. And listen, most men, they're manly men. I understand. It makes sense to me. The deal is that I do not have the rugged good looks of Brett Favre. And so what I am doing here, what I am doing here is I am trying to maintain this look of 37 years old so that by the time I'm 57, I still have a youthful appearance is what I'm doing. And plus, listen, the years of the drinking, they take a little bit of a toll on you, the drinking years.
And so I put the stuff on my face thinking, oh, well, I'll help out a little bit of the toll that's been taken by the – I don't want to look like Keith Richards is what I'm – My question is I don't understand. Don't do it. That took you two hours? You couldn't watch the movie? No, no, no. It really – Have you started browsing? No, no, no. Stop it. I'm telling you the truth. This is the deal. You get your rouge and then you move on. I didn't order any rouge. I don't make you look better. No, the deal was, a couple of the websites, they were messed up, so I would have to go. Man, that just ate up your Sunday.
Yep, maybe it's Maybelline. I swam. Whatever. Don't say maybe it's Maybelline. That was the worst of all the comments is maybe it's Maybelline. That was pretty bad. That one got me. I'd just like to let everybody know I have an announcement. Tonight on Deal or No Deal. What's up, Eddie? Here it is. It's Star Wars night. Come on. Hang on. Don't make things up. Chewbacca is going to be one of his friends. No way. All the girls are going to be dressed like in the Princess Leia bikini. The banker is Darth Vader.
Hello. It's going to be crazy awesome. Where are the lightsabers at, bro? I watch Deal or No Deal in like three years. I'm watching the night, bro. Yeah, I do. Howie Mandel. Cut 47. Yeah. The banker will be the one and only Darth Vader. I already said that, Howie. So that's exciting. And not only will we be speaking and getting offers from Darth Vader, He will be using his force to do spectacular. His force? I'm just saying special effects. Amazing stuff happening on our stage.
The models who I tune in, wait till you see their costumes today. I mean, it's like out of this world. Eddie, does that upset you that he says that Darth Vader will, quote, be using his force? It's kind of a stupid play on words, but I understand. I understand what he's going for. I would have said more he's like part of the dark side to try and make money. Well, and it's the force, not him. It's the force, right? Very true. And then also tonight, it's going to be different because basically they're going to, I guess, you know, they're going to have two contestants going against each other.
So they've never done this before. So what's going to happen is each contestant is going to play their own game, okay, like the normal game. but then whoever wins the most money gets both prizes, and the guy who gets the least money gets none. I don't care about that. That's not fair. I don't care about that at all. Well, yeah, but it's like the good guy versus the bad guy. There's only one winner. I don't care. I'm getting the feeling that Eddie's interest level is low. But it's like Luke Skywalker, I guess. The least important part out of all the other details is the gameplay. Who cares?
What do you think? Is Eddie into that? Eddie's into the costuming. Yeah, that's what you were just talking about, right? I'm talking about Chewbacca is going to be there. Yeah, a dude dressed in a costume. I'm concerned about something, Eddie. Eddie, I'm concerned about something with Chewbacca. How are they going to make him do that? What do you mean? How are they going to make him do that? That's how he sounds. That's how he talks. Make him. Well, I'm concerned, man. I don't know that he'll say that particular phrase, but I'm sure he has several things that he has to say. I mean, how does the actor inside the suit make that noise? Well, not just that, but how are they going to make him do that when he's going to have to stand there?
I mean, it was a legitimate question in Eddie's suit. It must be caught in there. Yeah. Yeah. It's not like it's the real G-book. Well, I mean, there is Eddie. Eddie, listen, Eddie is an expert at Star Wars. He knows everything about, so Eddie. He knows better than that. All right, so was he, we'll ask Eddie some trivia. Was he a monkey or a gorilla? For people who don't know. For people who don't know. He was a wookie, but what kind? Monkey or gorilla? That's a good question. Eddie. Eddie's looking at me right now like that is not a good question.
It must be obvious. I will guess. Okay. Silverback, gorilla. Yeah, the big one. Yeah, the big one. The larger one. That's a good guess. Eddie. Okay, that's not a good look. No, now he's looking at me like I did something wrong. Now you have. Stern. So you know full well he's not a silverback. You know full well he's a mountain. Guess again. He's a mountain gorilla. Oh, the mountain gorilla. Mountain gorilla. Chewbacca was a mountain gorilla. There it is. Eddie? Nope. Eddie still has a look that says negative. Maybe he's a bear.
Maybe he was a bear. No, come on, Sky. Maybe he was a bear. I don't know. Eddie, was Chewbacca a bear or a gorilla? Was Obi-Wan a Jedi? He just looked at you like, you're about to cross the line. You are about to cross the line. I will not ask Eddie. Ask me. I know a lot. Do you know about this guy? What's the question, Mike?
The question is, was Obi-Wan? Yes. Tread lightly, guys. A Jedi or a Chinese side dish. That was a joke. Oh, okay. Hang on. That was a joke. I think both. I think both. Okay. You could have given me a paper cut on my eye. Screw the newspaper right in Skye's face. That could have been serious, man. Oh, my goodness, Eddie. That could have been bad. Wow. Well, that's tonight. Yep, looking forward to it. That is tonight on Deal or No Deal. A little Star Wars stuff.
Hey, have you seen those videos that my brother makes, by the way, Eddie? No. Dude, you've got to see this. And everybody will enjoy this. He just sent me an instant message, which made me think of it. Because Eddie's in Star Wars. You know Steve. Steve-O. He's constantly on his computer making cool videos and stuff. www.rockstarhotdogs.com That's my brother's company, Rockstar Hot Dogs.
Now, go there, Eddie. Click on... Eddie doesn't have his laptop. Oh, did you shut it down? No, yeah. Okay, come over here and watch this. Everybody go to rockstarhotdogs.com. Mm-hmm. Click on Rockstar HD Studios. My brother is real good at this stuff. He's really... Sean, have you ever seen what my brother does? Yes. Really good. Really good stuff. Check this out, Eddie.
Oh, I've seen these. You've seen them? Yeah. The Jedi Knight stuff? Yeah, he showed them before. You've seen these, Sky? I don't know. Probably. My brother's really good at making these Star Wars-type videos. He's got, like, the sound effects, the whole deal. and he got a job from it. He got a job from doing it. He's going to be, like, working for some company making videos because they thought that his video came out so good. Katie, there you are.
Can I help you? Yeah, I'm selling chocolate. Come on, get inside. Lunch is ready, okay? Isn't that cool? He makes these. He got a job from it. You got to check these out. My brother makes these videos. That is awesome. He's real good at it. And it's pretty cool. Ashley wants to do some of that stuff, you know. So bad.
She's interested in that. You know, doing videos and stuff like that. And she's got a computer. She's going to start videotaping stuff and start making stuff. Yeah, I got the video camera. I've got the editing software. I'm just working on, like, getting everything in order so I can start practicing with it. That's cool. Because I want to start making videos for our show. I'm like, I think we can do a lot. It'd be fun. Skye. Hi. Question. Question. Was Jabba the Hutt? Yeah. A crime. A what? A crime boss?
Yep. Or a vacation home in Jamaica? Well, I've been to Jamaica. Which was he? I went there on my honeymoon. Was he a crime boss? I did see a lot of huts. Or a vacation home in Jamaica? But there's so many huts, and I don't recall any of them being named. Jabba. Jabba. You know what, Mike? That's a toss-up. Jabba. I can't help you with that one. He was a crime boss. Really? He was a crime boss. Well, if you knew, then why'd you ask? It was a quiz. Eddie has a look.
The look says... Eddie, what's going on? I don't even know what they're talking about. Who are you? What are you? Eddie knew the answer instantly. Oh, he did? Crime boss. Why didn't he, you know, pipe up? He was allowing you to answer the question. That's nice of you. 570-1053. Eddie, somebody wants you to judge them on their Chewbacca impression. Oh, nice. Yes. They do a Chewbacca impression. They would like you to tell them if you like it. Eddie is our resident Star Wars expert. Yes.
Are you ready, Eddie? Oh, no. Oh, wow. Oh, no. Okay. P1, Papa John. All right. You guys there? I am. Eddie, you listening? Yes. All right, here we go. Eddie is not, is not impressed. Eddie, you did not like that. No, I thought he sounded like he was underwater. Yeah, definitely too wet. One more time. Let's hear it one more time. Here we go. Sorry.
That's atrocious. Utterly horrendous. Chewbacca is obviously drowning. Sorry. Thank you for the call. That was good. Yeah. John Mayer is apparently hanging out with an A-lister. Yeah, if this goes where we think it's going. A big pimp. This is going to be a big one, Mike. Big star. Big female star. Take guesses. Bigger than the previous ones that he's been with. Well, he's been with Jessica Simpson. Who else?
Cameron Diaz. Cameron Diaz. Who's another big female star? Jennifer Love Hewitt. Jennifer Love Hewitt. Who's a big female star? This is a biggie. The single? Mm-hmm. Jennifer Aniston. Anybody else? Jennifer Aniston. Is it Jennifer Aniston? It is Jennifer Aniston. Can you believe it? Oh, my gosh. You nailed it. She's like 10 years older than that. Oh, my gosh. No way. Well, how old is he? Because she's 39. He's, I don't know.
I think he's like 30, maybe. Yeah, maybe. Is it a situation where John Mayer says, you know, who have I not dated? Pretty much. That was a short list. What beautiful movie star have I not dated? Right. Yeah. Well, Jen Aniston is currently in Miami shooting this movie, Marley and Me, with Owen Wilson. And basically, all weekend long, was seen all over town with John Mayer having lunch, having dinner, holding hands, entering her hotel, stuff like that. So, we'll see. Nice. Amy Winehouse has been let off with a caution.
I guess that must be some sort of British terminology. Yeah. Is that for the headbutt? I got a caution for the head butt. She's a nut. She's a flirt. Yeah, so basically what had happened... It's a big, fat flirt. You're a flirt. That's right. I mean in the underground flirt community. Flirt ahead. That's right. At flirt parties, when you get together, all we ever talk about is how the whole world doesn't know that Amy's a big flirt. Oh.
But we all keep it secret, see? you don't want to let everyone know. It's sort of a secret society. Oh, okay. Well, why do you think she's lost so many teeth? Too much flirty? That's right. That is strange. I mean, when you flirt like that, I mean, you flirt real hard, you know. Well, when I first got into flirting, when I first became a flirt, they warned me of it. They said, you know, you could lose your teeth and end up getting a caution at some point. That was a risk you were willing to take, though. Well, you'd practically do anything for a flirt.
Right. It's a shame there, really. It is a shame, Mike. I called her last week. Oh, you did? Yeah, I called her on the telly, I said. On the telly? Yeah, on the television. I called her on the telly. You should have ringed her up on a mobile. I was thinking about calling her on a mobile, but then I see. Then the telly was right there. But my telly was right there, so I grabbed the remote control and started speaking. Wow You win is advanced Hello Hello love I said hello
I said listen dear It might be time to lay off the flirt Isn't it just a bit Good advice And then she told me she got a caution I said I told you dear Hello Amy this is David Beckham so yeah she what did she do again sky well so what happened it was early wednesday morning last week and she was playing pool and some dude i guess got in the way of her shot and so she slapped him
and then decided to leave sounds like it was kind of a violent angry night and some guy tried to um help her into a cab to like hail a cab for her right and she grabbed him and head-butted him why um well because she's amy winehouse yeah okay besides the obvious i don't know i wasn't there but if i were to speculate it sounds like somebody may be a bit of like an angry drunk or something and you can't do anything right and you try and hail them a cab and you get head-butted so the police um watch out yeah so the police don't you hail me a car so the police brought her in on
friday and then by saturday morning uh let her out with a caution which basically they'll note all this in her record and if she's brought up on any sort of similar charges in the future it'll be like 10 times worse for her now there it is yeah p1 colleen yes what's up hi is this mikey yes do you remember me i worked with you on friday at the luncheon you came up to me and asked me what to do yes i did colleen was very nice colleen do you hear what he did yeah did you hear colleen colleen you weren't listening earlier what he did i didn't i tried to get up
this morning but i couldn't it was embarrassing dude i just wondered i found a table and told them all you were there and you were gone oh he does that he does wait wait wait wait wait i felt like kind of a stalker because i was looking all over for you and um they didn't want to see philip rivers they didn't want to see anyone but mikey hey what time i mean at 1 30 that all the everybody he was leaving. Well, but a lot of people stayed and they were trying to hunt you down
and I couldn't find you. Oh, no. I couldn't find you. Oh, my gosh. That's the thing with Justin Germano. Hang on. Hang on. Oh. Man, mom. I'm not going to win this. Yes, Mikey. Well, listen, no. Here's the deal. At 1.30 when the event was over, I did split and I'll tell you, the reason is because I get up at 3 o'clock in the morning and so by 1.30 in the afternoon, I was a little tie-tie. Or was it just the embarrassment? Were you there for the Sam the cooking guy who raffled off himself for the money? I did not see that.
See, I thought Mikey could do that. He got $5,000 and invited six people to his home, and they bid on him. And I thought, well, Mikey could do that and have him come to his station and earn money for the kids for Star Pal. I would do it just like that, dude. I'd let people come to the house. I'd auction it off, come to the house, and I'll cook for you. I bet you could make a lot of money for those kids. Colleen, Colleen, I got to ask you, because for those of you that are just tuning in, a lot of people are going, well, what is this? What is she talking about? What is he talking about? What's going on? There's a organization in San Diego that's really cool called Star Pal. And what they do is they help out disadvantaged kids.
The kids get to know cops in a way that they wouldn't usually get to know cops. Instead of meeting them for getting arrested, the cops will take them shopping. The cops will do sports with them. The cops will do cool stuff with them. And it's a really neat program. It's called Star Pals. Well, I was part of a celebrity luncheon on Friday at Balboa Park at this big, giant ballroom that they had at Balboa Park. I had never done it before, and the idea is that you are assigned to a table. You walk in this ballroom, and there's like 60-some tables spread out throughout the ballroom, and they're big, giant, round tables with a bunch of seats at each table. And every celebrity gets a table that you wait on.
The idea is that you just get money from these people. You sell them a picture of you taking a picture with them. You sell your autograph. You say, can I get you a Coke? Can I go get you a piece of bread? Anything you can do. Can I sing for you? Whatever is how you do it. And I'm telling you, I was lost. I didn't know what to do. And so I asked Colleen, what do people do? How do you get money from people? And so Colleen was helping me out. Well, Colleen, what you didn't know, I was telling the story earlier about how I embarrassed myself. You didn't hear this, right? No.
Okay, so let me explain. Here's what happened. Uh-oh. So there was actual celebrities there. Yeah, well, you're a celebrity, too, though, and you didn't get that. Let me tell you. I felt like such a nerd. First of all, no one knew who I was. Okay. Colleen. One table said, this might be not very nice, but who's the bald guy with the tattoos? Yeah, well. And I said, that's Mikey. And they said, from 105? I said, yes. That's all I had to do was walk around and sell you, but you... Did you hear that, Mike? Colleen, Colleen, you got to hear the story.
Yes. Listen on the air. I'm going to let you go, but listen on the air, okay? Okay. Okay, thanks. First of all, big stars up front. I was like second to last. I'm telling you, out of like 150,000 people, it makes sense. I wasn't arguing with it. So I'm in this room and the idea is to get the money from everybody. So I get assigned to this table and the table has like six young women and they were all in like their twenties and you know me like, I don't know how I'm going to get money out
of them. I'm not, I don't know if I'm supposed to say, Hey, do you guys want me to sing for you? And I'm telling you, I'll do whatever. I just don't know what to do. I just didn't know what to do. So this girl that's at the table gets up to go to the restroom. And when she does, the other girls say, hey, it's her birthday today. Sing her happy birthday. no problem it's this is like hand delivered to me a way to make some money so i say girls i'm gonna go get somebody because i didn't just want it to be me like i thought i gotta get somebody
famous so i go hang on i'm gonna get somebody that's a celebrity so i go to find somebody and there's sandy philip rivers was there uh louis castillo um there was sandy alderson the ceo of the Padres was there, Kevin Towers, a bunch of Charger players, a bunch of Padre players. And so I'm looking for somebody famous and I, and I see Justin Germano. So I walk up and I say, Hey man, can I, uh, can I borrow you for like five? And they told us beforehand, that's a great way to get people to give money, go get somebody they really like and bring them
over to the table and get them to get money out of people. So I see Justin Germano. I walk up to him i say hey man can i get you to come over to the table and sing happy birthday to this girl who it's her birthday he says yeah sure no problem and he's taking time you know and i'm getting nervous i'm thinking oh man they want me back at the table and i i'm looking around i see all these other people are very all the other celebrities are very attentive to their tables and i'm like oh man i gotta get over there so finally he kind of wraps up and he says okay you know let's go very gracious person.
So we walk over to the table and I'm all excited because I was actually able to get somebody to come over. And I go, ladies, I said, first of all, Loyola, it's your birthday today. And I just want to say happy birthday. And she's real surprised. Oh my gosh, she's surprised. And I said, and I just want, hey, listen, we're going to sing happy birthday to you. And it's not just me. I brought over San Diego Padre, Justin Germano is going to sing happy birthday to you too and he goes yeah it's actually it's heath bell bro but that's it's all good don't worry about it it's all good i i wanted to die yeah i wanted to i was i went no no
no please no i don't know any of this yeah i can't even i don't know why i thought he was Justin Germano. I don't know any of this. I don't know any of this. That's how you could have made money the rest of the day, though. You could have, like, called Phillip Rivers, Drew Brees. Can you imagine? For 50 bucks, I'll call that guy. Yeah, exactly. If you give me $200, I'll be really disrespectful. I'm telling you, I thought
it was Justin Germano. I don't know how. I thought. I don't either. This is going to be over real quick. And so then I'm like, I got my hands on his shoulder and I'm going, dude, I'm so sorry, man. And he's like, yeah, don't even worry about it. And you know how there's like different don't even worry about it. Oh, yeah. There's the don't even worry about it that like actually thinks it's kind of funny. Yeah, right. And then there's the don't even worry about it. That's like, wow, that was pretty ridiculous. It was that one.
It was that one. Yeah, it was definitely the that was pretty ridiculous one. I was so embarrassed, you guys. I couldn't believe I did that. So do you think he went back and, like, told a lot of people? No question. He's like, hey, that bald dude with the tats just said. But then, like, went to all the other players. Can you imagine? In the next few days, he's, like, telling everybody. Stop it! Probably. That sounds about right, Sean. You know that guy, Mike, whatever his name is? Well, yeah.
I don't know what the guy does, but he's got a bald head. He probably told Justin Germano first. And you thought Justin Germano was Trevor Hoffman? Imagine you bring Trevor Hoffman over, and you're like, hey, guys, come on. I just want to get everybody fired up, man. I got Jake Peavy here to sing you. Actually, no, Trevor Hoffman. That's cool, though. Don't worry about it. Anyway, happy birthday to you.
So brutal. That is a won't forget that the rest of my life story. If I ever see him again, Heath Bell. I can get him on the show. Don't. You can publicly apologize. Heath Bell. Or would you rather have Germano? They're both at the same time. Apparently, you really like them. He won't know the difference, so just book whoever will. I'll just get anybody. Just a raw poll in. Hey, dude. Hey, everybody.
Justin Germano on the line. It's cool, man. Don't even worry about it. Oh, my gosh. That's terrible. That's funny. Sean Penn was at Coachella. Huh? So was it the Burning Man? Is that what it was? Or was it totally different? I'm so sorry. That was as bad as Heath Bell and Justin Giovato. Oh, geez. Sky just gave me a look that shot marijuana sticks through my brain. No, Coachella. So was Ozzy Osbourne? Right.
Was that the Oz Festival? I don't remember. Yeah, was that the Ozzy Festival? How dare you. No, Mike. Coachella is its own festival. What do they do out there? It's like a hemp crafts show, right? Mike. It's a lot of huge bands. Everybody wears patchouli. Over three days. Goes to the restroom and outdoor bathrooms. You can camp if you want, or you can get one day pass. No one wears deodorant. It's really hot. There are lots of celebrities there. Oh, it sounds great. Yeah. Sounds like something me and Rebecca would really
be into. Yeah. You know, just being out in the hot desert for three days. 99 degrees. Yeah. Out in the desert. Soaking up the sun with 400,000 People, you know, no bathrooms and Sean Penn. I'm sure there's no drugs there either. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Keep it nice and simple. Yeah, there's a picture from Coachella of Shia LaBeouf, like, without a shirt on, just, like, laid out on the ground. Oh, my. Just, like, passed out. It is happy place. Maybe he was something. Eddie, what would it take to get you out to Coachella? Sounds like a blast.
Led Zeppelin reuniting? Ooh, that would be rad. Well, Portishead was there first time in the States. Oh, well, then, Eddie, how were you not there? I don't even know what that is. Is that a candy bar? No, it was a horror movie in the 80s. Oh. Well, anyway, Sean. They looked in the mirror, and they were like, Portishead, Portishead. Don't say it five times. Stop at three. Yeah, I guess Portishead will show up. He'll be like, ah! Portishead! Shut up. That's four. I don't have the guts to say it again. Don't do it, dude. Don't do it. Well, anyway. I can't believe you.
I'm Portishead. Ah! OK, so Sean Penn showed up and, you know, they had him go on stage and he started talking about biodiesel and how kids need to get environmentally involved and be more active. Go green or go home. And then he started talking about the Iraq war and 9-11. Did they boo him? I don't think so. I'm sure they're probably cheering. He said, for the 3,000 people we lost on 9-11, we've lost 4,000 in this war, and that's just American soldiers. Yeah, so then who cares about those idiots at 9-11, huh?
Why even make that point? Yeah, what's the point there? It kind of diminishes the 3,000 that we lost at 9-11. Well, I'm assuming he meant we were so heartbroken over the 3,000 we lost on 9-11. And we're not at all. Yeah, we're people that died in the Iraq war. That is the implication. Sean Penn, everybody. Thank you, Sean. It's your boy. You were Jeff Spicoli. Yeah. Remember I am Sam? Yeah.
Shawnee is not with us now, right? Oh, what happened? What happened? He was my friend. I just heard him, too, on our airway. Why? No, you guys, you misunderstood me. Oh, the setting. I think we should take the rest of the week. Oh, no. Oh, no. No, guys, he signs off at 10.30. That's all I meant. Well, why didn't you say that? You're not going to scare us like that. You're on the air talking about him dying like I messed up.
First Justin Germano, and then Coachella, and now this. I know. It's been a tough day, guys. Seriously. And to make matters worse, in Florida, lawmakers want to ban fake bull testicles on cars. Good. I hate that. I've only seen that one time. I've never seen that. You've never seen that. That is so gross. I've seen it one time. What is this? First time I saw it. I saw it on the five, northbound five, and my jaw dropped open. Fake bull testicles.
They're like fake. It's like aluminum or steel bull testicles. Oh, no, no, no. The ones I saw were. Oh, the ones that I've seen. I've seen those, but the ones I've seen are a lot worse. They look real? Yeah, they're actually like flesh colored, and they look like they're actually hanging because the balls have weight. Off of what, though? Like the tail hit, the toe hit. Yeah, the toe hit. The toe hit. The tail hit. The paw. You know what I mean? Yeah, and then they just hang back there. The scrotum. - And then so when you're
driving they're like i can't believe that's allowed wow well here's the deal no no no check it out well i don't know about those listen i don't know about those but the ones that i saw were these steel ones are aluminum and they're on this swivel so that they're like you know whoa you know what i mean dude first time i saw it i was like that's i mean i did like jim from the office that's inappropriate yeah try seeing the flesh colored ones dude like how do they allow that that's kind of i mean you can do whatever you want you can do whatever you want yeah you
could do whatever you want i mean of all things but cook those bad boys up they'd be delicious so uh some lawmakers in the i have not seen rachel ray cooked out on 30 minute No, I don't think you ever will. I don't think she will. That's in only her private life. So some lawmakers in Florida, part of the Senate, are trying to ban them, but they pretty much know it's not going to pass because it's people's rights to express themselves and decorate their cars however they want. Well, I mean. Yuck.
Fake bull testicles. I guess it's just like, okay, wait, here's my question. Okay. There's a reason that you can't have those out on your person. Yes. In public. Okay. Yes. As a whole. Listen to me. Okay. And then you explain. Okay. But as a community, we have decided that that's inappropriate and that that is indecent. Right. To have your testicles exposed. We've decided that as a society and you'll get in trouble.
Yes. So why is it okay to put a, like, full-on reenactment of them? But as a community, we find it okay to let your dog walk around with his testicles exposed. Yes, because that's not a human being. We've decided that. Yes, and they claim that the ones that are hanging from your truck, those are not human being testicles. You can say those are bull testicles. Those are dogs. You know why? You know why? Okay, I have an answer to that. Why? Because we, as a society, are not going to clothe our dogs. Why not?
Because we're just not. In the beginning, human beings didn't wear clothes. Understandable. We're born naked. Understandable. Let's bring that back. Understandable. But we do not cover our dog's testicles. Well, so why should we cover our truck's testicles, Mike? Because it's indecent. To you. No, it's indecent to you, too. Well, it is, but I'm arguing right now. Well, it's like trucks don't initially have testicles. That's the thing. They don't? I don't think that they should make a law that says you can't have them. I don't think that.
But I'll tell you this. Get those off your car, you freaks. What about the cars that have Calvin and Hobbes peeing on Chevrolet? Yeah, yeah. That's a great point. Yeah. Don't care for that either. Or cars that have Boston all over them. That is a nuisance. There should be a law. There should be a law. Ugh. Ugh. How dare you? Yes. 570105. I don't complain about Huckabee stickers. That is true. That is true to me. 570-1053 is the number.
Give us a call at the beginning and end of every show. Oh, my goodness. Man, what a controversy. Right? Oh, yeah. First time I saw that, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Yeah. Yeah. 570-1053. Beginning and end of every show. We do open phones. You can call in about anything you want at the beginning and end of every show. P1 Roy. Hey, bud, how you doing? I can tell you how those truck testicles originated. How? Originally, it was just a leather sack with the different sides of hitch balls that go on the back of trucks, and they would just hang them there, so when they needed a different size for, like, a different trailer or something,
they would just, you know, have them right there at their own will. Okay. People just kind of started making a joke at them and started making the fake ones and stuff like that, and that's how it originated. Got it. How long has that been around, you know? For pretty much a long time. I know a buddy of mine who had that on his truck. And I was like, hey, what are those? And he goes, oh, those are just the different hip sizes. And then he's like, I've seen people with just, like, fake road runs. I'm like, well, what's the point of that? And he goes, and then they were climbing that time. That's a good question. What is the point of these, you know? What are you accomplishing with that? Are you trying to show us how manly your truck is? Pretty much.
Maybe that's it. Oh, it is. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, this is P1 Pool Boy. What's up, Pool Boy? Hey, I wanted to say that Sean Penn's an idiot. I can't believe that guy will compare the 4,000 we lost over all the years we've been fighting the Iraq war versus the 3,000 we lost in a single day during 9-11. That's a good point. Yeah, the guy's an idiot. He should not be speaking on anything. I don't think any celebrity has the right other than you guys to ever talk about any of these subjects. Thank you. Well, thanks. Thank you very much. That should be a bill that is introduced to the Senate. It's called the Mikey Show bill.
I like it. P1 Chodiso is on the line, ladies and gentlemen. Chorizo. Chorizo. Good morning, DSC. What's up, man? Oh, no, wait. You just said good morning, DSC. Hold the phone. This is not the Dave Chilling Chainsaw Show? Well, you know what? People do that. It happens. I think Mike would be nice of you, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean. It happens. It does. It's okay, dude. If you listen to both shows, I'm all right with that. Some people confuse Padre players. Some people confuse concerts. Yes, this is Justin Germano on the line.
Dude, I'm a P1. I listened to long people. Well, I don't know. By definition, you're not a P-1. Well, I think he was making a joke. Oh, I got you. Because you did the embarrassing thing. Eddie, you get it? It was an obvious callback to the, he was saying, it was like me saying, I got you. Go ahead, Chodizo. Hey, Mikey, I went to call last week about when you guys were talking about the time machine and how you guys want to go back in time at different times. I don't know that we've ever had somebody call in about a topic four days later. I know, dude. I tried to call in, but it was impossible.
Your show must be very popular. What was the debate at the time? Would you rather go back in the back? No, no. It's just a little thing. You know how you were talking about that if you would go back in time, you'd go back to meet Jesus and stuff like that. The question to listeners was, what would you rather do, go back in time if you had a time machine or go into the future? And I said I couldn't figure it out. I didn't know what I would want to do. And then somebody said, well, wouldn't you want to go in the past and meet Jesus? I said, oh, yeah, that'd be cool. But then I said, but if I was stuck in San Diego getting a time machine, how would I get to, like, you know, Israel? Right.
Anyway. Well, anyway, there's a book called The Trojan Horse. Uh-huh. And it talks about that. I think it is obviously science fiction, but it's about some general that actually goes back in time. And he leaves the information, and he actually, the guy is not religious at all, but he actually goes back in time, and he actually gets to meet Jesus. Oh, wow. It's a pretty crazy book that is called The Trojan Horse. And I know it's in Spanish. I don't know if it's translated to English or not. Okay. Who are you talking to? It's a good recommendation. Oh, wow. Okay.
I will, you know what I'll do? I'll get it. I'll have my mom read it to me. So it'll be really wonderful. It'll be a chance for us to get together and bond a little bit. There you go. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Hey, Mikey, what's up? I was just curious. Who was the one that's picking the play the Toto lately? That was a total blast from the past. That was Boston Rob. He picks all of the music that we will play coming in and out of the breaks. Oh, really? And so, yeah, he picked Rosanna by Toto. Just as a quick one, the reason it catches me, that's my stepbrother and sister's dad that did their sound recording for that group. Oh, really?
Yeah, I had, like, some old garage tapes. I was young at the time, like, probably 11. But, yeah, it's just really kind of brought me back. I was kind of tripped out on that. There you go, dude. Thank you very much for calling. All right, we got to get out of here. Lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. And she has, today on the news, a little double shot action for you. So you'll hear a couple of songs from the same artist. Tomorrow on the show, because we got too late, but tomorrow on the show,
A.J. Turner or, excuse me, A.J. Smith or Norv Turner. I know. I'm going to do it again. I'm going to do it again. A.J. Smith or Norv Turner will be on the show tomorrow. And also, tomorrow is our Iron Man fashion show. Be making your Iron Man costumes and get down here tomorrow morning at 7 because it could be worth tickets to the premiere to see Iron Man in San Diego tomorrow night, but also limo ride from La Costa Limousine up to Los Angeles and the premiere of the movie in Hollywood with all the big stars from the movie.
We'll see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out. We'll be right back. Love you, ma'am.
