Mikey described a punishing Red Bull aerobatic flight, while Ashley, Sky and Boston Rob supplied the show's broadest comedy in the Dumb Chick Challenge and a planned tandem-bike punishment. The crew also argued over giving up phones or the internet and over gasoline prices, with Sean calculating that inflation implied a fair 2008 price near $1.73 and one caller proposing that everyone abandon their cars on the freeway. Discussions of Wesley Snipes and Tom Cruise turned serious: Doug alleged a racial sentencing double standard, and Mikey later told WordHerd that treating faith as a contest of proof only makes people defensive. The show also covered a nanny rescuing a toddler from a coyote and ended with Mikey, Eddie, Ashley and Boston Rob recoiling as Bear Grylls ate a huge live grub while Sky refused to watch.

What happened, in order

  1. Red Bull aerobatics

Mikey described taking a Red Bull stunt-plane flight, enduring instant rolls, a four-G climb and an engine-idled dive before deciding the experience was thrilling but too uncomfortable to repeat.

  2. Phone or internet

The crew and callers debated which technology they would surrender forever, with Mikey and Eddie favoring the internet while Boston Rob insisted he would dump it despite relying on MySpace and online videos.

  3. Dumb Chick Challenge

In an extended trivia game, Ashley guessed that acorns grow on an acorn tree, Boston Rob named James Earl Jones as the first pilot through the sound barrier, and Sky eventually won by identifying Rhode Island.

  4. The Wesley Snipes argument

Caller Doug argued that Wesley Snipes's three-year tax sentence reflected a racial double standard, while the hosts and other callers challenged his comparisons with Britney Spears, Nicole Richie, Brandy and O.J. Simpson

  5. What gas should cost

Mikey, Sky, Eddie, Boston Rob and callers compared current four-dollar gasoline with older prices, then Sean used an inflation calculator to argue that a 1989 dollar should equal about $1.73 in 2008.

  6. Tandem-bike punishment

The crew revealed that Boston Rob would pay off a bocce-ball loss by riding a tandem bicycle with Ashley in matching fuchsia tops, bright spandex, helmets, gloves and knee pads.

  7. Tom Cruise revisited

The show replayed Oprah Winfrey's interview with Tom Cruise and argued over his couch jump, his apology to Brooke Shields, his confrontation with Matt Lauer and his explanations of Scientology.

  8. You cannot argue faith

After caller WordHerd contrasted Christianity's evidence with Scientology, Mikey argued that proving another believer wrong only creates defensiveness and that nobody can be argued into faith.

  9. Nanny fights a coyote

The crew recounted how a nanny in Chino Hills pulled a two-year-old girl from a coyote's mouth before the injured child received hospital treatment and a rabies vaccine.

  10. Bear Grylls eats the grub

Mikey, Eddie, Ashley and Boston Rob watched Bear Grylls bite into a live cigar-sized grub and reacted with shouting and nausea while Sky refused to look.

  11. Abandon every car

A caller proposed lowering gasoline prices by having everyone stop and abandon their cars on the freeway, but his plan unraveled when Mikey repeatedly asked how millions of stranded drivers would get home.
