The show opened with Mikey, Eddie, Sky and Ashley reacting to news that bullet casings from a Philadelphia shooting matched a gun owned by former NFL star Marvin Harrison, sparking disbelief about his possible involvement. Eddie then shared a painful story about hitting his head on a kitchen cabinet while cooking, leading to a concussion, and later confessed to a recipe mix‑up that turned his enchilada sauce pasty. Ashley took a call from her boyfriend Mark about not calling her at 10:30 p.m., which led to a broader discussion about consideration, maturity and the recent engagement of Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds. Later, Sean recounted a bizarre incident where a dead body was found in a band’s practice space while searching for a stolen drum kit, and the crew debated the ethics of horse euthanasia after the Kentucky Derby, Dustin Hoffman described the infamous fart scene from Rain Man with Tom Cruise, and the hosts announced upcoming Marvel and Metallica events before wrapping up with Barack Obama’s remarks on distancing himself from Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

It's Siete de Mayo. They don't celebrate this one, really. This is not a big celebratory day. Siete de Mayo. It is 6.02. The FBI confirmed yesterday similarities between the bomb used over the weekend at the federal courthouse downtown and a bomb discovered at a Federal Express facility. Well, according to sources, the bullet casings found at the Philadelphia shooting belonged to Marvin Harrison. Oh. Come on. This is crazy. Dude, for real? I'm in shock. Like, I don't even know what to say. Dude. That guy was the poster child of, like, what to do right in the NFL. Nicest guy. You know, never got in trouble. Never. Apparently was in a fist fight with a patron at his bar that he owns. He owns a bar? He owns a bar and a car wash, I guess, in Philadelphia. Philadelphia? Yeah, I don't know. And apparently was in a fight. And the guy that got shot left the bar and apparently shots were fired after that. And now they're saying that the casings to the bullets belong to a gun that was owned by Marvin Harrison. Oh, wow. Shocking. Now the guy is okay. Yeah, he was shot in the hand. So he's apparently fine. Now, I wonder if a district attorney can make that a case for attempted murder.
Oh, for sure. Right? You're shooting at somebody. You're a bad shot. You're a bad shot. But you meant to kill him. Yeah. Oh, my. Again, he still hasn't been arrested or charged with anything, but that's according to Philadelphia police sources. Because it could be possible, right, that it was his gun but not him. Very possible. Right? Yeah. Whoa. I can't believe Marvin Harrison's in something like that. I know. He is the nicest guy, they say. Welcome to the program. Call us. 570-1053 is our phone number. And we would love to hear from you. There are seven people on the show. And so I want to introduce everybody. And then we'll get this thing rolling. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. And I am 37 years of age. And I like to grow things. This is something that is in my heritage. As you well know, I am Hispanic by nature. By birth. Mexicaness is what defines you. So I, you know, it's really, it's genetically imprinted in my DNA to know, you know, how much fertilizer to put in lettuce. That's right. Eddie and I ate one time in Cancun. We thought it was disgusting. It was very disgusting. It's the worst Mexican food I've ever had in Mexico. Awful. The milk tasted all real. Yeah. It's gross.
I like American milk, man. It's got to be pasteurized. Yeah. I like American milk that's been like all, you know, cleaned up. Everything about it was weird. That milk we drank tasted like they milked it right into a tin pail and brought it over to us. Yeah. And it was slightly warm. Yeah. It actually was. And Eddie just gave the sign to Sky. Enjoy. And enjoy. You're having another good hair day. What's the deal with you? What's going on with your hair? I don't know. What are you doing? I don't know. What's up with you? This is a gorgeous lady, Mike. Is that what it is, Eddie? Thank you. Is that what it is? Just letting him know what's up. Thank you. Eddie's our sports guy. He is our producer. And something interesting happened with you yesterday, Eddie? Yeah, you can say that. Yeah? I almost knocked myself out. Wow. What? No joke. How did you do that? Well, Sky, I was in the kitchen, and I was cooking, and there was a cabinet that's above my head, and I opened it, and I was pulling stuff out, and then I turned around and did some other stuff, and as I whipped around as hard as I could, the corner went right into the side of my head, and everything went black, and I thought I was going out. I thought I was done, and I started seeing stars, and I was...
Like out of it. Mama said knock you out. I've had a couple of concussions in my day. Yeah. And I felt like that afterwards. Like I was very woozy. I couldn't really focus on anything. And I thought I was good. And now today, this morning, I'm still not right. Like it's weird. The whole side of my head was swollen. Oh, dude. It was a joke. When did this happen? Well, I was cooking dinner. So it was probably like around quarter to six. Oh. And then it took you a while to, like, get it out of your head? I had to sit down because I was, like, going down. It was crazy. Freaky. Did you finish dinner? Oh, yeah. What did you make? I attempted to make my mother's enchiladas. It's a good amount. Yeah, well, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was okay. Yeah. It was okay. I made one error, and it wasn't really my fault. The way the recipe was written out for me. Yeah. It said three-fourths of something, but it meant three, two, four. Like instead of a slash, it should have been a dash. So instead of three-fourths of a cup, it was three or four cups of something. And so it was making the enchilada sauce. And so the enchilada sauce needed, it was three or four, it said three-fourths. And you thought it meant three, two, four cups. Well, no, it was the opposite. It said three-fourths.
You know, how traditional a three-fourth looks, three slash four. Right. Well, it was meant to be three dash four cups. So there wasn't enough of it. There wasn't enough of it. What did you put? What was it? It was water. And when you're making the enchilada sauce. Yeah. I've made it before at my mom's, but my mom was over my shoulder, so I knew what I was doing. Well, this time I put the three-fourths cup, and I'm like, no, that's wrong. And so I started putting more water in, and I put a lot in, but it wasn't like three or four cups. It was probably about two and a half, so it needed more water, and it kind of made the enchilada sauce thick. It was kind of pasty. And it sucked, you know, but the food tasted good, so I didn't really care. Everything was good? It was all right. Tasted good? Yeah, I know what to do next time, though. The Eddie line is ringing. Hello? Hey, how are you guys doing? It's Dr. Wayne calling in. I'm a chiropractor here in the area. Yeah, what's going on with you? Not too much. I was listening to the show and heard about Eddie having that little thing there with the corner of the cabinet. Yeah.
And I just want to let you know that I'm also licensed as a deep tissue masseuse. And so if you want to come down and let me work that sucker out, I can probably... You want me to come down? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I actually don't know what you could do for my head. Well, you know, they say that the body is actually all connected. And so if I work out a couple areas there in your back... I'm actually fine. If I actually work out a couple areas there in the... three, what do they call it, the C4, C5 there. Well, you should know you're a chiropractor. I don't know why. Well, it's early in the morning. I forget some of these things. You should never forget those things. That's weird. But if you come in, we'll stick some Enya on. No, no. I'm going to be fine, doctor. I'm also CPR certified, so I believe all you guys should be CPR certified once you guys come in here and I'll teach you all how to do that. Two breaths and then compression. No. You guys got somebody that we can, I'll just use somebody there as an example of how to do it. Seth, how are you? No, see, I knew you were going to say him. You're really creepy. I hold classes at the house on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. At the house? That seems inappropriate. That does. Well, no, it's just a way to get to know the neighborhood. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. That's basically every day. And so if you want to come by.
I got a couple of beers and Jaeger shots. Thank you, guys. That guy is inappropriate. He is. And he's always trying to help people, it seems like. No, he's not. He is really out there and weird and strange. Chris Harrison thinks he's creepy. That's right. Welcome back. We had to take a 19-hour break, but now we're back to do it all over again. Don't forget. This weekend is going to be a very big weekend. We're doing something called the Sticker Strike. Yeah! And it's going to be ginormous. Real quickly, Sky is our news girl. She's 30 years of age. Hi! Gorgeous! Hi! Shawnee, oh boy, is our sound effects guy. A stunner. That is. He is right. He is a stunner. And he is wearing a green pullover today. That's right. That is right. A green pullover. And he's giving us a... I wish we could take that as a snapshot. I wish we could take that. Please stop doing that. That is Walter Matthau's brother. That's what that is. It really is. Ashley is our assistant producer, and she's dressed very smart today. I like it. I like this outfit. It's lovely. Thank you. She's got on one of those, do those kind of sweaters, that style, do they have a name, or you just call them sweater? Cardigan?
Is that what it is? The kind that button, but they're, you know, like my wife wears those. Yeah, a cardigan sweater. It's kind of the same. My wife wears those. She buttons the top one. Am I right about that? Yeah. You button just the top button? Like if a guy does that, he looks like a cholo. Normally with the shorter ones, though, huh? Yeah, this is shorter. Maybe she does a middle one. So maybe you do like a middle one. Yeah, maybe she does a middle one. She does like a button on those things. Yeah. Ashley had a very, we'll get back to that in a second. I'm going to ask Ash about something that she was telling me about. Boston Rob, 25 years of age, engaged to be married. Wow. Oh, yeah. That's right. Guys, engaged to be married. He is 25 years of age. He is our phone screener, but he's also a singer-songwriter. Yeah, he is. The guy puts together a lot of songs for us. He just put together one for Sky, and the song is about how upset she is that the 760 area code is changing. Okay. She really is. And then there is Roosevelt, Zethian Oates, Jr., the third, Esquire. And Rosie wrote me this morning and said that he almost wore pajama pants into work today, but decided that the amount of crap that he would take from Eddie was not worth it.
Skye says you got to get past that. Yeah. Boozy. Fight the man. Thank you, Seth. Otherwise, you'll never do it. You'll never be comfy. I care about Eddie's opinion. Decided against it. Come on. We are at work. So? So you shouldn't really be wearing pajamas to work. We can be comfy here. That's a good point, Eddie. Whatever. Skye does it all the time. She wears slippers. Oh, I love it. She wears slippers to work. She wears pajama pants sometimes. Yes. She was telling me yesterday. Stop it. Just tell me yesterday. Tell him your outfit. You were walking around. What's going on now? She walks around Escondido like a bag lady. Come on. During the weekend. I mean, it's humiliating. Well, yeah, because Rob was over working at the house, so he got a nice glimpse of it. I'm surprised the Mormons don't try to put you in a shelter when they see you shopping on the streets. Like, hello, dear. Yeah. Can we offer you some bread and some drink? So Sunday, I rolled out. in bright red, like, pajama bottoms, like, velvety red, like, bright red. And then the top was a dingy, holey t-shirt that said, lucky to be Irish on it. And then no makeup on. Eddie's shaking his head, for the record. Eddie's shaking his head. No makeup on. The hair pulled back in a ponytail, but all, like, frizzed out on the front because, you know, I've been sleeping on it. And, oh, yeah, slippers.
Walking around town like that. Obviously, Sky's very high maintenance. We needed to go to the depot. That's brutal. Let me tell you, it is the exact opposite of what Eddie and I would experience at that time of day in Dallas, Texas. No way, man. No, girls aren't rolling around like that. No way. You guys, you don't understand. I'm talking Saturday morning, right? Starbucks. Here in California, Saturday morning at a Starbucks. Girls wearing sweatpants. You know how the girls wear the sweatpants rolled up at the waist? And a baseball cap with a ponytail sticking out of the back of it. No makeup. Maybe like a tank top on. Yeah. Never see that in Dallas, Texas. No way. You'll never, ever, ever, ever, ever see that. They are full makeup, full hair. They won't leave the house. And it doesn't matter if it's a Saturday or Sunday. They won't leave the house that way. I appreciate that. And what was weird is that it's such a different culture. So, Ashley, tell everybody about the interesting conversation that you had with your boyfriend, Mark, last night. Like I had had a really long day and like normally I will call him when I get off the air.
and I was just so slammed at work. Like, our meeting, we were on the air late, and then we were meeting, and then I had to get home to my pod, and so I just was, like, rushing, and so I didn't call him until, like, probably 2. Like, I got home, I got home late, called him, and he was just kind of like... When do you usually call him? I normally call him when I get off the air. Which is... Like... 10.30. Yeah, it'd be, like, between 10.30 and 11. But you were busy yesterday. You didn't get to. Right. Yeah. And, like, my phone died. Like, there was things. You know, like, my phone died and whatever. Right. So I didn't call him. But, like, it still was a little bit out of the ordinary for me. And so, like, basically, I could tell it hurt his feelings, like, that I didn't call him. And he was kind of worried because it was out of, like, my nature. But he didn't want to bring it up to me because he thought that he would be, like, nagging or would be, like... like overbearing you know and so he didn't bring it up to me but I like had to tell him that I would prefer for him to bring it up to me because in actuality like I was the one being inconsiderate and there's a difference I just feel like between those two things and I feel like very often people will hold back things and then that's how you build resentment and trust issues and everything because you don't want to bring it up because you think it's going to scare them away I think that's really cool of you so it's very you're maturing
Do you agree with me, though? Sure. Okay. I don't necessarily think that it was. The only thing I disagree with is I don't think it was inconsiderate that you didn't call. I think that your day was busy and you had stuff going on. Right. And it would be inconsiderate, in my opinion, if you guys had an agreement that every day at 1030 you would call and let him know that you're safe or something. I don't know. Right. And you guys had an agreement that this is the deal. And that if you didn't do it, that would probably be a little inconsiderate. Then he'd be worried about you. Right. But it's not like you guys have an agreement. It's just something that's a habit. You do it. And maybe he was worried, which is that's OK, too. Yeah. But I don't know that it's necessarily makes you an inconsiderate person. I think what might be inconsiderate is if he tells you, man, I was worried about you. I wish you would call me if you said to him. I don't have any agreement with you. I don't have to call you. That's what I used to be like. That's inconsiderate. And I would have been like, listen, I'm busy. You'll get a call from me when you can. I'm a busy girl. And that's how I used to be. By definition, that's not considerate of the fact that he's got these feelings. Right. Considerate would be, this is what considerate looks like. Considerate would be, oh man, I'm sorry that you got hurt like that or that your feelings were hurt because...
I certainly didn't mean to hurt your feelings. That wasn't my intention. I just got really busy. And, hey, you want me to call you at 1030? Like, you know, I just kind of do out of habit. But if you'd like, and you only say this, by the way, if you're okay with it and you're willing to do it. But you say, if you want, I could call you every day at 1030. It's no big whoop to me. Right. Which is basically what I said. Yeah, that's good. It sounds like you're growing up. It's really a process. I'll tell you what. Yeah, Ashley's... I've noticed a couple things with Ash lately where she seems like she's maturing a little bit. Ash! That's pretty cool. Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have confirmed that they're engaged to be married. No! No way! Yeah, it was a rumor. It was a rumor for a while. Ryan Reynolds. No, wait, Mike. I think Eddie... Another one taken. I think Eddie meant Scarlett Johansson. Oh, man. It's a dream, a dream. Oh, yeah. Her, too. She's, I guess. Yeah. So it had been a rumor for a while, but, you know, everybody was hush hush. And now, you know, their people have confirmed and she's now wearing the engagement ring around town. Yes, they are engaged. He's really got different sorts of taste. Right. Alanis Morissette and Scarlett Johansson. He's been engaged to both women.
So he went for the complete opposite, in other words. Yeah, he did, it seems like. Telling. Yeah, one can play guitar, one can't. Maybe that's the deal. Is that what that's supposed to mean? That's right. Brunette and a blonde. Hey, you can call us. 570-1053 is the phone number. So, yeah, we're doing this big thing this weekend over at Qualcomm Stadium. Oh, my gosh. Saturday morning from 10 to 1. Oh, no. It's going to be ginormous. Oh, no. And it's going to go on from 10 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon. And it will be you P1s driving in and getting the brand new P1 Army sticker. A P1 is somebody that listens exclusively to the Mikey Show. It's just another way of saying a Mikey Show fan. Stands for Priority One. It's an actual radio industry term. And what it means is that when you call us. You turn your radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss. That's a P1. And you turn other people on to the Mikey Show. P1 listens for long periods of time, not just five minutes here and there. You listen to us for a long time. Why? Because we stay on later than 10. You know, we're only bound to be here from 6 to 10. But, well, pretty much every day we stay longer than that. And so...
We just want you to be with us and be listening to us and the whole deal. And we're very possessive of you. Yeah. We'll call you every day after the show. That's right. You need to be considerate of our feelings. Please be considerate of our feelings. In fact, we're going to state it right now. We do want you to be with us the entire time. It would make us feel good. Yeah. Anything less would be inconsiderate. Thank you. P1 Josh is on the line. What's up, Josh? I was just wondering, Sean would be telling a story that Mikey wanted him to tell yesterday? Yes, he is. Yes. All right, that sounds good. Before the hour is done. And let me tell you, it was yesterday when we were getting off the air about 10 o'clock, or 10.30 actually. So that guy that just called was listening at that time. Nice. We wanted to ask Sean about this story. And he has to sign off at 10.30. And so this morning at about 6, well, sometime before now on 7 o'clock. Sean's going to tell this story. It's real weird. It's really, really, really weird. Can't wait. Like as in, like as in, what? Kind of weird. P1ET is on the line right now, if you can believe that. Hi, P1ET. Hey, what kind of horrible songs do you get stuck in your head that just will not die? That's a good question. That's a good question.
That is a far out question. Oh, man, that's a good one. Eddie sings some songs in here sometimes, and I'll get them in my head. I can tell you one that I've been singing a lot lately. What? And I don't know why. What? I want to write you a love song. Yes, you have been singing that a lot. I can't stop. I can't stop. Yeah. It's a great song. I hate it. What about you? What about you, P1ET? You know, I got that Cartman song stuck on my head. Yeah, I could see how that would get stuck in your head. Hey, Ash, do you have that song that... Yes, I do. That one for me. What about you, Sky? I don't know, not lately, but I do remember when we were on vacation in Maui, I would walk up...
and down the beach singing Greg Kin's Jeopardy. Really? Yeah. And I, like, every single day for a week straight, I was singing that song on the beach, and I don't know why, and I couldn't stop. Really? Yeah, it's really annoying my husband. How about anybody else on the show? Go ahead, Shani. I was just going to say, I usually get, like, jingles, like, commercial jingles stuck in my head. Yeah, I get that. Like, baby back ribs, that kind of thing. Don't. Thank you for the call. That's weird. Ashley's got it. And see if we have the Cartman version of sailing. Let's see. Where did you put it, Ash? Light yellow. Middle. Front page. That does get stuck in your head. Isn't it Sarah Aurora Borealis? Borealis. Who? Sarah Borella. What? I think it's pronounced.
Oh, I like her pasta. Yeah, great pasta. Really good. Dude, this song is contagious. When it kicks in. Forget it. I kind of hate it, but I sing it all the time. Yeah. Oh, yeah, I defy you to get that out of your head. I get that in the head a lot. You guys get that all the time. It's just constantly in my head. Hey, Ash, do we have it in the system or no? Shawnee has it. Shawnee's got it. Let me hear it, Shawnee. It's fucking married. That's Eric Cartman singing Sail Away. Oh, good. My wife. Okay, so I told you that I'm into this band, Starfield. Yeah. Like, I'm obsessed with them. I announced the other day, I think they're my favorite band ever. And Eddie said, stop. Dude, you can't just say that stuff. And so I told Rebecca, I go, I feel terrible. I shouldn't have said it. I could tell. It was, you know, I need to think about this a while before I make such bold statements. Thank you.
She is into this song by them right now, by this band Starfield called Over My Head. And I told you, I said, it's like if Switchfoot and John Mayer had a baby, it would be this band Starfield. And she's obsessed with this song. And she keeps playing it over and over again. And so now I'm playing it over and over again. And it's a trip because in it, the guy starts saying these lyrics. And he starts saying these lyrics and he messes up kind of. And they kept it in the song. Yeah, because he's almost like on this stream of consciousness thing. Now, this is kind of embarrassing to admit, but have you ever listened to a song and the lyrics are so moving to you that tears are pouring down your face in your car, but you don't want anybody to see it? Have you ever had that happen? I don't listen to songs like that. There's people that are definitely music lovers. I don't listen to music like lyrics. It's kind of always there. Sky, what about you? You got a connection with lyrics? Yeah, I've had that happen before. You have? Oh, man. That was what I was thinking, but I didn't want to say it. That's what I was thinking, too, but I didn't want to say it.
You know how I know you're gay? I guarantee you Sean's done it. Multiple, multiple times. In excess. Yeah, Pet Shop Boys. Yes, to the Pet Shop Boys. This guy's voice, though, I love this guy's voice. And this has been stuck in my head now for about a week. Yeah, at the end of the song, he does this thing where he starts to recite all these lyrics, but none of the lyrics are the same. And it goes on for like... three minutes and it doesn't say the same thing in like a three minute span. He kind of messes something up in there and they didn't retake it. It's like they just did it all in one take. P1 Abel's on the line. What's up, dude? Hey, how's it going? Hey, I just got back after being gone for a while and I just wanted to thank you guys for an awesome show yesterday. Oh, cool, man. Thank you. Where were you? I was over in Afghanistan. Oh, wow. Was it super, was it just brutally hot over there?
No, actually, it was freezing cold. It was in the teens out there. Was it really? Yeah, it was pretty cold. I must not know. I don't know the geography. I thought they were like on the same. They must be like opposite. It's kind of mountainous there, right? Yeah, it was really, really cold. Oh, wow. Just for vacation or? Yeah, going out there to a resort. Yeah, I went to go visit a family member. Yeah. Yeah. Timeshare. Osama? Yes, yes, my cousin Osama. No, it was Obama. There you go, there you go. Thank you for the call. All right. That was one of those deals where he said it and I just go, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, and then I realized, oh, he said Obama. P1 Cruz is on the line. What's up, dude? Mikey. It was funny because I got a buddy who was on the other side of that. He told me the other day he left on deployment on Sunday. He said he was bummed because he couldn't listen to the Mikey show for six months. That sucks. Yeah, man. I was crying for him. There you go. There you go. Hey, thanks for the call. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can call us at the beginning and end of every show. And you can talk about anything you want.

Stephen Wright in the stand-up spotlight. I have three. I can levitate birds, but nobody cares. It's a good thing there's gravity. Otherwise, when birds die, they just stay right up there. Hunters would be all confused. Sponges grow in the ocean. That kills me. I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be if that didn't happen. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, the wet ride is slowing you down here this morning, so give yourself some extra time. You'll definitely need it, that's for sure here. Right now, we don't have a lot of accidents, but we do have weather conditions that are really kind of keeping you very slow. South on set of the 15, backing up now from the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. Reduced speeds again through Ranch Bernardo and Carmel Mountain Ranch here with the rain coming down there. Coaster ride, South 5, starting to see some heavier traffic as well. And Carlsbad from Poinsettia Lane, and that's a slow one all the way to Solana Beach already. And you're picking up the brake lights out of the East County, Westbound 52, slow up the top of the summit. Westbound 8, also a little bit slow over the Grossmont Summit from Severn Drive, and then again Lake Murray. West 94 looking pretty good, though. That's a decent-looking ride in the downtown. and both the 5 and 8.05 northbound. A few breaklights on both these freeways up to National City. 8.05 starts a bunch up again through North Park and then slows you one more time as you come out of Kearney Mesa from Balboa heading up over the 52. Don McLaurenton, Rock 105.3. To the Mikey Show featuring Mikey. I picked my nose a lot. Eddie. I just want my sandwich like I want my sandwich. Sky. I enjoy presents. What can I say? Sean. I'm boss and Rob.
I'm kind of the transient of the bunch. And Ashley. I'm a very loving, nurturing person. On Rock 105.3. Admission to make. I'm going to admit something here. I never liked the Dire Straits video back in the day when it first came out on MTV. Wait a minute. I'm going to admit it right here and right now. It was the biggest video of all time back then. I thought it was lame. What? I didn't think it looked cool even at the time. I got another one, guys. Listen, I got to just let this stuff out now that it's coming out, all right? I thought the thriller video was lame the first time I saw it. No, you didn't. That's impossible. You did not. You guys, I promise you I'm telling you the truth. How? Let me tell you how. It's still cool today. I'll tell you how. I'll tell you how.
I thought that when his ears grew, it looked so dumb and fake and lame. You're the worst. And then when they showed his face, I was like, I'm telling you, it was 1983. I looked at it. I go, it looks like he's got these real bad contact lenses in his eyes. Wow. How dare you? I think I may be the only one because I'm telling you, my brother, my older brother, he was like, you've got to see this thriller video. I tape recorded it on the video cassette recorder. I have an admission. Go ahead. That when that video was out, I would go to the Gilroy skate rink. Yes. And when they would play the video up on their big screen, I would turn away because it would scare me. Really? Yeah. What part? The part when he turned. When he turned? Yeah. And I was with all my friends, and, you know, they're all, oh, check it out, dude. Thriller video. And I'd be like, ah, what's over here? Well, see, you must have been about 10 or 11. Yeah. And I was about 13. And I remember, man, my brother was impressed. And I was not impressed by it. I thought, man, that looks chancy. And you know what? The dude that directed that video was John Landis. He directed The American Werewolf in London. And that movie was scary. And when he changed in that movie, I thought it looked pretty real. But the thriller video, I was not buying Michael Jackson as a...
werewolf or whatever. Now, I will say this. I thought that the zombies were a little creepy. You hate groundbreaking things. I do not. I love some groundbreaking things. I'll tell you what I was impressed by. The Apple commercial where the guy throws the big mallet through the... Awesome. Awesome. The lady saying, where's the beef? Got me every time. Every time. So, we're getting some text messages at 35253. Mikey, speaking of songs that make you cry, what about that Adopt an Animal commercial with the sad song? Oh. Right? Is that, I want to know, love it? No, Sarah McLachlan. Oh, my gosh. Wait, you guys, what is this? I saw that the other day. I do not know about this. You know the Sarah McLachlan song, Angel? Yeah. They have this. commercial about like adopting pets and it's all these sad looking pets in like cages. And this is a commercial that's running right now. It starts with like her sitting on the couch and the song starts and she's talking about all the needy animals and then they start flashing pictures of hurt dogs. Yeah, hurt little dogs all wrapped up with bandages. Like their ears cut off. Brutal. So in other words, their take is, hey, we'll get people to adopt animals by making them feel terrible.
about themselves for not doing it. By making them feel like they'll be an angel if they adopt. Get it? Get it? Oh, so it's a positive spin. It's actually, you're an angel if you do something. But I feel awful when I see it. Yeah. They made me go out and adopt six animals, so I just let them go. You wanted to adopt, though. You wanted to adopt. I set them free. You're a good guy, Rob. That's an awesome person right there. You're my angel. Bunch of cats. Go free, little cats, into the canyon. See, there's another one. You're wild now. It's just a mountain lion spotted. Yes, go back to the wild. Back to the wild from where you came. Yes. Become feral. There's some milk to go. See, I think the other side of it could be, yes, you're an angel, right? You're an angel if you adopt these creatures that need you. Okay, here's the other side of it. If you don't adopt them. You are not an angel. Yeah. You are not. You're a monster. Yes, you're a monster. In fact, you have fangs yourself. How can you not be affected by this? Yes. Oh, my gosh. Yep. Mikey, the song that I cannot get out of my head is There Ain't No Bugs On Me. Oh, that is my favorite commercial. There ain't no bugs on me. There ain't no bugs on me. There ain't no bugs on me.
Did you have to? He's got his little scarf on. Eddie looks like he wants to die. And he's sitting on the dock because they're camping. And he's telling his friends. Eddie looks like he wants to die. I love that. Every time it comes on, I smile and sing along. We know. You've talked about it before. I love that commercial. Mikey, the one that gets in my head is that stupid Free Credit Report song. FreeCreditReport.com No, not that one. You guys don't know that one? Oh, yeah. That one gets in my head. FreeCreditReport.com Let's see. What is he talking about? Oh, there's also the Corky's commercial gets in my head. Oh, yeah. I've seen that all the time. I get that one in my head. You know what gets in my head? Is that the gobbledygook? Gobbledygook? Gobbledygook? Gobbledygook? That's the only part I know, though. Is that what you were talking about? That's the only part I know. Oh. No, but that's, I don't know what that is. I don't even know what product that is. I don't either. I don't know. Is that like Mucinex or something? Is that what it is?
Somebody will call us. Well, 145 people will call us. Thanks for baby's diapers. Yes. Mikey, am I the only one that gets I'm a Barbie girl stuck in my head? That's P1 Ken. Yes, Ken, you are. Well, he's Ken. Yes, that's right. How weird is that? Hello? Ken gets the Barbie song stuck in his head. Mikey, that stupid GoPhone rock song with Meatloaf. That's P1 Papa DR. They're playing that like crazy. Yeah. I think I may have heard that for the first time. Let me sleep on him. Get it, Eddie. Let me sleep on him. That's terrible. That's a goodie. Thanks, guys. I don't think we've done a proper time check. It's 6.44. Marvel Studios announced yesterday their plans for Iron Man 2. Yes! Come on, already? Yes! They all signed a three-picture deal. Are you serious? Yeah. It's kind of standard when you do movies like that, you know? So if it flops, they just don't do it. Yeah, exactly. So that's awesome. Padres had the day off yesterday. Going to start a series with the Braves tonight in Atlanta. Chris Young on the hill. First pitch, 410. A lot of people calling about this. The songs that you get stuck in your head. P1 Herald. Hey, Mikey. How you doing? Good, man. What do you get stuck in there? I get Beautiful Girls from Sean Kingston.
Oh, yeah. That's a very catchy song. And my wife hates me for it. It's a very catchy song. P1J. Yeah. What do you get stuck in your head? Well, now I got that dang Dire Straits song stuck in my head. Yeah. I understand. Hey, did you ever see that Dire Straits video back in the day? The MTV one? The animation one? Yeah. Money for nothing. Oh, yeah. Money for nothing. I was right there, dude. 40 years old. What did you think of it? I wasn't impressed. I didn't know. I was almost embarrassed, you know, because it was so popular. Yeah. And everybody, oh, yeah, yeah, it's great. And I'd kind of go, oh, yeah, sure. I didn't tell anybody. I kept it to myself. I made it a secret. I think it's something wrong with me. I wasn't crazy about the thriller, but I liked the girl in it. Yeah, she was gorgeous. Joel Array, dude, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wow. Wow, points to you. Well said. Thank you very much. P1 Joel. Mikey, that Gobbledygook song? Yeah. Aladdin Bail Bonds, I'm pretty sure. And I think it's even the Addams Family. I don't think it, no. I don't think it's the Addams Family song. It's not, for sure. I know that. But why, what does Gobbledygook have to do with bail bonds?
You know, I think it's just to get stuck in your head. That's the only reason I remember it is because that song gets stuck in my head, too. Gobbledygook. It gets stuck in my head. I just don't know what the product is, which means that they're, I don't know. They're like getting rid of the gobbledygook that you get with all the other guys. Got it. Yeah. Oh, this is a good one. How about this one? P1 Inmate. Inmate, you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. Which one do you get stuck? Oh, I like the King Salmon Bell Bond song. That's right. So does Sean. I love that. Yeah. Isn't that the one that Sean used to sing? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Love that. I thought it would. With JPV. It's better to know me than JPV. We sing that every time it comes on. P1 Guitar Hero. Hey, Mikey. Hi. The song that I get stuck in my head is, I believe in a thing called Love by the Darkness. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, and I was also calling about the gobbledygook thing. Yeah. It's this commercial about net neutrality. It's like, it's a bunch of gobbledygook. It's some weird ad campaign that they've got going for it.
So it's not Aladdin Bail Bounce. No, it is not. It's for what? It's this thing called net neutrality. It's like, you should just Google it because I won't be able to explain it that well. We play the commercials. We could probably find out. Probably. Thank you. No problem. That is. Let's see. This guy, P1 Buckley. Hey, Buckley. Sing, sing. Buckley, sing, you Latin angel. Yeah, I got a commercial for you guys. Not even Latin. I was going to say Latin. No, it's the F-R-E-E, that spells free, credoreport.com, baby. Yes. I like that one. That's right. When they're in that beater car. That's right. You crazy Latvian. Thank you, Buckley. Appreciate it. Did you hear what he sung? It was beautiful, wasn't it? It was good. Wasn't it just absolutely gorgeous? On pitch. Well, since we're talking about it, since we're already on the topic with this. What?
some more HEP-A cases out there. No way. How are we on that topic? Well, I don't know. I just thought, how else am I going to get into this topic? I mean, it's just secret of mine. Well, it's all at Chipotle. It's all at the same Chipotle in La Mesa, right? Yeah, all the cases are linked back to that. There is now a total of 20 cases. Oh, Taz, amazing. I got two questions. Number one is, do people still walk in there and buy stuff? And number two is, do they have to put a sign that lets people know that that happened there? Right. I wonder if that's the deal. We should have Rob out there. What are you doing at Chipotle? I know. Why are you doing at Chipotle? I'm telling you, man. Those are great questions. Yeah, well, the weird thing is, is that all the workers there have been tested for Hep A and all of their tests have come back negative. so they don't know exactly where it came from. Was all the cases from that one day, or is it spread out? No, it spread out between March 1st and April 22nd. Oh, no. Yeah, so just about a month and a half. Oh, my God. That's crazy. Can you imagine? 35253 is our text number. Mikey, I grew up in North County, and every day I would get stuck on, if you're looking for a car, go see Cal. Yeah, that one gets stuck in there for sure.
You know, Cal Worthington, I believe, just celebrated his 402nd birthday. Happy 402. That guy's been doing those commercials since I was a little kid. Kobe Bryant named MVP today. Well, he's going to be, it looks like, which will be his first MVP, which is kind of surprising. Really? Yeah, he's never been MVP before. That's nuts. Wow. I thought he was the best player on the team. Well, he is the best player on the Lakers, but that doesn't mean he's the best player in the NBA that season. Like, you know, guys have big seasons and kind of overshadow them a little bit. Sorry. There's a Yankees fan that's been accused of running down and killing a Red Sox fan. Well, there it is. I guess it's out there now. That's crazy. This is crazy. Rob, did you hear about this? Boston, Rob? Let me ask him. Did you hear about this thing with this Yankees fan? Yeah, and now we have to take one of theirs. Oh, boy. Calling for the head of Johnny Damon. No, you're not. No, it's an eye for an eye. And they took one of ours. I say, I'll be the one to do it. It's an ugly job, but somebody has to do it. You are not calling for anything. Yes, we call for the head of one of theirs. What happened?
Well, so I guess it all started at this bar in New Hampshire where this woman who was a Yankees fan was in the bar and I guess it came out. The bar. She was in the bar. She was in the bar. And I guess it came out that she was a Yankees fan. And so people, you know, in this Red Sox area start, you know, giving her a hard time and heckling her. And then I guess the argument moves outside. Of course it does. And they say, according to witnesses, there was a group of Red Sox fans chanting Yankees suck at her. And this woman who had already enjoyed a couple adult beverages at the bar decided to get behind the wheel of her car. Typical Yankees fan. And she was going to scare this group of Red Sox fans by, you know, pointing her car and speeding directly towards them. Well, one of them didn't get out of the way and got hit and killed. No way. Horrific. Horrific. Wow. So which one do we take from them? All right, Rob. That is going to be a tough choice. You know, Rob wrote a song about the Red Sox. Do you remember that? Which one, Rob?
Yeah. Eddie's shaking his head. No. I can write another one if you want. You don't like Marky Mark? No. Yeah, people from New England, they just automatically love Marky Mark music because he's from Boston. Yo, it's party time. Party time. That was kind of tough to fit in there. Yeah, it is. Yeah, come on, come on. Let's riot, riot. Wait a second. Okay, that's ridiculous. That's so stupid. Put your shirt back on. I can't help it. He actually recorded this song same day he took that MySpace picture. It all makes sense nowadays. The Mikey Show. That's the ultimate hang zone. Oh, rock. Rock. She's not only your wife.

The Mikey Show. With another Mikey moment. Rob, what is the name of the substance produced by the body when a person is angry or frightened? Is it poop, Mike? Okay. Oh, that really got him. He's cracking up. I think he's hurt all day. I think it's endorphins, but I'm not sure. How am I so dumb? What is it? What just happened? Is it poop? No. 105.3. Back. It's the Mikey Show. It is 7.02. A three-year-old girl had to be hospitalized over the weekend after she drank from a bottle that contained the date rape drug. Come on. GHB? Yeah. Steelers' first-round draft choice, Rashard Mendenhall, was robbed at gunpoint. Oh. Welcome back to the show. Okay, so this is a strange story. Now, we were going to tell this story yesterday at 1030. Sean had just signed off, and so we said, hey, we'll have him tell this story this morning. So, Sean, go ahead. So, one of the people I work with here is this girl who is, she's really talented. She's one of those people that has, like, a lot of talent in various areas.
She's in a band, and she's a lead singer, guitar player, and they have a practice space in Oakland across the bay. And apparently it's this place where a lot of bands go to rent practice space, and it's kind of like renting an apartment. It's a big building, a lot of different rooms, and you rent it, you kind of own it. Someone broke into their practice space and stole their entire drum kit. Oh, man. Which is a bummer. And you know, when you have a band, if you don't have drums, you don't have anything. Nothing. And it was about $3,000 worth of drums and cymbals. They are a very young band, and they don't have the money to go out and buy another set. So they went to management and complained. Like their manager or the manager of the space? The manager of the space. Okay. And so the manager agreed to actually go through the building space by space, let them in to each space and look around to see if anyone perhaps in the building took their drum kit. Wow. Which I thought was pretty cool. Yeah. So they're going room by room and they go into this one room. They open the door and just this awful, awful smell. Really, really awful smell.
They're looking around, trying to find, you know, anything that looks like theirs. And they happen upon a dead body. Can you believe that? How Silence of the Lambs-y is that? No way. I'm telling you, man. It sounds like that scene in Silence of the Lambs where she's looking in the storage space and she finds Benjamin Raspail. Creepy as that. How is this not, like, big news and everything? Well, I mean, you know, Oakland is the murder capital of the U.S. practically. So, you know, it's not like, you know, it's an unusual event to find a dead body in Oakland. So is it, like, have they done an official investigation and they're looking into it? Yeah, I mean, you know, they had to, like, they had to close down the building. Nobody could get in and, you know, but they were telling me. And now it's a crime scene, right? Definitely, definitely.
But I'll tell you what they found out because they kind of got some resolution to it. But I guess the guy was, he's, you know, morbidly obese. He's, like, horribly overweight. He's about 400 or 500 pounds. And I guess what he was doing was, because he didn't have a lot of money, he was actually living in that little space. Uh-huh. And he built, like, a loft up above the practice area, which you're not allowed to do, but he did it anyway. Uh-huh. And he was sleeping up there. something to eat or something that night and just keeled over and died. Really? Oh, man. And he doesn't have any friends, doesn't have any family, so nobody, there was no one to ask, where is this guy? And so he went unnoticed for, I guess, for a long time. No way. How crazy is that? Yeah. That was awful. It was the person that was actually renting the space. Yeah.
You know what is surprising to me is that they had to go in there to even notice that. That's what I said. You would think it would be through the whole place, you know. Yeah. And I also thought it was kind of weird that, you know, these are not apartments. They're just practice spaces. And it's weird to me that they don't do, like, routine inspections just to make sure that they're not trashing the place or, you know, destroying anything or doing things like building a loft, which they're not allowed to do. But I guess once you rent this space, they don't bother you. They don't, you know. I don't do anything. Can you imagine walking in, finding a dead body anywhere? Dude, I'm telling you, I couldn't go back. Oh, dude, that's brutal. I wouldn't be able to go. Could you, Eddie? Yeah, probably, but it would definitely stick with me. Did they find the drums? Yeah, did they? No. So nobody there stole it? Uh-uh, no. Oh, man. Well, this ought to be good. From The Late Show with David Letterman. I don't know that I can play the whole thing. What? What is it? breathing. I was laughing so hard to even call in. Yeah, it doesn't sound like you're laughing. I was laughing my black butt off. In fact, I've never heard you laugh. Why don't you guys step off? No. Am I slurring my words, by the way? A little. I am slurring my words. No, I am not. Hello. I'm fine. I'm just so... Barbara, even you have to admit that was really terrible. It wasn't that bad, actually, Eddie. And if you keep talking about it, mama's gonna knock you out. Okay, that's not very relevant. Really? Yes! And a one, and a two, and a one, two, three, and to the left, to the left. All of your things in a box to the left. Don't you touch that. That's my stuff. It's great, Barbara. Because there's nothing that a guy that's arm is sleeved with tattoos and has the word Boston tattooed on his neck wants more than to be in a little pink spandex suit riding tandem with Ashley. Over the weekend was the Kentucky Derby. And unfortunately, they lost the horse in this race. It came in second place. And after crossing the finish line, it had to be euthanized. Well, we got an email about it. Somebody that is a little upset and want to get everybody's take on this. We'll do that next. Good morning, family. This is the Mikey Show.

Sleep Train Mattress Centers. I was running into a very tough commute out here this morning, and the rain, of course, is pretty much the cause for most of this here. Right now, yeah, give yourself some extra time. You're definitely going to need it right now out of the South Bay, North 805 particularly. That is back there big time out of Chula Vista at a crawl all the way from here before the South Bay Freeway into North Park. Most of this started with a car fire that was near University Avenue. You put a couple of fire engines on the scene there, and that just majorly backs everybody up as you slow down to check things out, and that's the cause for that. Getting past that, more heavy traffic out of Kearney Mesa heading up over the 52. West 94 on the King Freeway really hasn't been too bad overall this morning, but now it's seeing heavier traffic from College Avenue to the 805, then again into downtown. Your West 8 ride is also seeing some tougher stuff now as you come out of the Cajon Valley from Greenfield Drive. That's pretty solid all the way up towards Magnolia. Heavy again, El Cajon Boulevard through La Mesa all the way to Lake Murray now. Snap on set of the 15, pretty heavy as well. Up 78 via Rancho Parkway into Rancho Bernardo, now in Carmel Mountain Ranch. And northbound 15, seeing some heavy traffic, mainly because of the rain and the slick conditions here. That's a slow ride out of Mission Valley through Murphy Canyon all the way up to the 163 merge here.
And we've got the South on set of the five. That pretty much goes without saying. That's just backed up big time out of Carlsbad from Tamarack all the way to Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Well, everybody already knows that Sunglass and Optical Warehouse is the place to go to get sunglasses in San Diego. They got the largest selection of designer sunglasses anywhere in San Diego. But not everybody knows that Sunglass and Optical Warehouse is also the leader in prescription. Prescription eyewear, too, Skye. That's very, very true. They have over 7,000 of the hottest new designer frames, whether you're getting them just regular sunglasses or prescriptions put in those bad boys. And it's not like you need to bring a note from the doctor or a prescription from the doctor. They have them in-house. Yeah. If you need your peepers checked, they'll check them out right there. They'll say, hey, those are your peepers. Let me check them. That's exactly correct. Yeah. They got three San Diego locations. Very easy to find. They got the one on a convoy in Kearney Mesa, the one in the La Jolla Village Shopping Center where Skye got lost in the circle. It's not technically a circle. It's a circle, and she got lost. It's not technically a circle. And it was really embarrassing. And then the other one is right behind the sports arena on Kurt Street now. Don't forget.
When you're looking for Sunglass and Optical Warehouse, look for the yellow and black sign because there are competitors that know how awesome Sunglass and Optical Warehouse is, and they try to switch their words around. It's like optical, sunglass, warehouse. Right. No, it's Sunglass and Optical Warehouse. Look for the yellow and black sign. Yeah, and for all the details, you can check out their website, sunglassoptical.com. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I am a recovering alcoholic who did go to rehab. Eddie. I am a very good driver. But terrible Parker. Sky. And for the record, I will not respond to the name Ham. Sean. I have cried while watching Star Trek. Boston Rob. Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are engaged.
NBA playoffs last night saw New Orleans up 2-0 over the defending champs, San Antonio Spurs, and Detroit moves up 2-0 over Orlando. Yeah, so Eddie, tell them all in one shot who's left in this NBA playoff thing, because I don't even know. Well, you got New Orleans taking on San Antonio, and the Lakers taking on Utah. Then you got Detroit taking on Orlando. And what's that other series? Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. I think it's Cleveland and Boston. Yeah. Now, won't Cleveland have to win that one because LeBron James plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers? You ever heard of a little something called the Boston Three Party? Is that what they call them? Oh, yeah. The Boston Three Party? Oh, yeah. Clever. Oh, yeah. If you name all three, let me tell you something. If you can name all three, I will buy your breakfast for the rest of the week. Wow. What about me? Kevin Garnett. There's a lot on the line here. LeVar Odom. Oh, you are. LeVar Odom, by the way. And Chauncey McPhillips. Yep, yeah. No way, Jose. So close. Is that it? So close. Dang it. Who are they, Eddie? Now you have to buy us food. Who's the Boston Brie party?
They like cheese. What? KG, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen. Yeah. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen. Oh, man. I had no chance of getting that right. You could have said a million dollars. I wish I knew something about basketball. One thing. Just, like, let me tell you. I don't know the way the game is played. What? I don't, dude. I can't even tell you. If you lined every guy, if you put every guy on the court where they're supposed to be, I could tell you this. This is what I know. The tall dude's the center. The guy with the ball is the small forward? No. Not even the shooting forward. No. Shooting guard? No. Don't know. Point guard. Point guard. You do have a shooting guard. Yeah. You have a small forward, a power forward, and a center. Dude, basketball was my sport for so long. No, I didn't know any of those. Been your sport for so long, but my mother, since I was born. I never hear. Here we go. With all due respect, Eddie, I never hear the guy talk about basketball. He's kind of a Fairweather fan. Oh, no. Eddie had to back up and clench his teeth on that one. I'm going to come in there and smack him right in the mouth.
I just find it interesting, Rob, that you have not talked about the Celtics at all since we've known you. I've never seen more Celtics gear since we've known you. And now all of a sudden, Celtics are good. Now all of a sudden, the Celtics are good. I have Celtics gear. I don't wear it, he says. Never. Because they weren't very good. The only time I wear my Celtics gear is in the summer because they're mostly cutoffs. Or I wear it to the gym. Don't call me a fair weather fan. I'm going to come in there and slap you right in the mouth. Right in the mouth. Right in the mouth. Call my mother right now. You were a fan when they were winning world championships in the 80s. Well, basketball kind of sucked. Actually, no, no, no. That's my 21st birthday. What did I do? Went to a Celtics game. What have I been doing? I was there. 21st birthday. Eric, well, I haven't lived there since. And last time I checked, San Diego doesn't have a basketball team. It's like my favorite sport, okay? Four years ago, I went to a game. Yeah, when I lived in Boston, the only thing I wanted to do was go to a Celtics game. You guys are jerks. I was there with Marty Conlin, the great white hype, that jerk. Why does he never talk about basketball? Because he's a fair weather fan, Mike.
Because I don't watch it out here, dude. I'm not going to buy the NBA package. If you're a huge fan, why wouldn't you watch it? I'm not. That's weird. He's not watching them? All right. San Diego fans are calling me a Fairweather fan. Oh, wait. Whatever. So you get the baseball package. Oh, absolutely. Oh, that's interesting. Absolutely. Interesting. Then why is basketball your favorite sport? He said it's like his favorite sport, but he doesn't get the NBA package. I won't buy the football package because I'm praying that the games will be on, but thank God the Patriots do good enough that we can see them every Sunday. Unbelievable. But I'm not going to pay for that. But why do you not buy a basketball package if it's your favorite sport? Very good question. I never said it was my favorite sport. You said it was like your main sport. You were like, that was my thing. I said growing up, that was my thing. That's not what he said. That's not what he said. He did say growing up. I heard that. You guys are always correct. Get my mother on the phone. All right, let's get Adeline on the phone. Let's get Adeline on the phone. Seriously, you're a grown-ass fan. I hate that you guys doubt me. You're calling me a fair with a fan. No, we're not. We're calling you a cheater. Mikey Show. I'm going to throw my chair through this window. Why are you so violent?
Because it's part of my heritage. I think there's someone on the phone. I can't hear anybody. Let's go get it. No way, Jose. Hello? Mikey. Yes. I'm backing Rob, dude. He's got lots of stuff to secure this house. Is this detail? It's detail. I'm such a piss-ass. Come on, detail. We've seen it. Please invite me to another barbecue. Dude, if I came in here with my cut-off shirts and you guys would be like, wow, look at our jacket. So for four years, you didn't want to do that. I wear them to the gym almost every day. Really? Yeah, dude, because I work out almost constantly. That's it. Fight time. Fight time. Mikey Show. Let's drink some whiskey. Boss Rob's first rap song, Easy 2. Easy 2? Easy 2, my rap song. Oh, that's right. I forgot. That's right. He taped, his mother had taped on a cassette tape. She had taped. As it was happening on the radio, the Cuban Missile Crisis, over 13 days, she taped this. And he taped over it with his friends when he was 13. Easy to. Easy to. His first rap song. It didn't go like that. Easy to. I thought you said you didn't remember that one. No, it didn't go like that, though. Okay. It didn't suck. Another thing you're lying about. In a few years, I'll know the bunny, boo. I want the easy to. I got the easy to. Mikey Show, hello.
What's up, kids? What's going on? I haven't shared for the Celtics since 82. That's right. Yes, go ahead, please. You got that correct. And two, ask him to name the starting five, and then you'll leave him alone. Yeah, that's true. Go ahead. Name the starting five. John Rondo. I don't even know, and that's already funny. What the hell are you laughing at? What the hell are you laughing at? I just didn't say that name. It made you laugh. I hate you guys. Come on. You got Rajon Rondo, and then who else? Rajon Rondo. Rajon Rosotto. I'm going to come in. Snap Ron Risotto. All right, let me read you this email. Sounds delicious. Come on, say the starting five. Rajon Risotto, and then who else? Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and I believe that... I believe! I believe! I believe! Come on, it's your team. They're in the playoffs. He doesn't even know his own team. It's like my favorite. I love him. I wear the shirts to the gym. 21st birthday. I wear the shirts to the gym, right? That's right. I'm an honorary something. Flip out, man.
All right, listen to this email. Tell me what you think. And it's either Kendrick Perkins. Oh, there it is. I love Barry Bird. All right. I can't wait until the Patriots beat the Chargers. Oh, you got us there, man. I can't wait when you guys come in with your tail between your legs crying. I don't say nothing. Oh, it's so hurt. You guys beat us in a play. So he will take a basketball fight and turn it into a Patriot fan. I'm going to turn it into an all-out sportsman. They were the biggest choke artists in the history of football. Oh, no. It doesn't matter. We own the Chargers. We own you. I think it would matter if I were a Patriot fan. It doesn't to me. I would hate to be 18-1 and have to send all my championship shirts to Africa. Good. We did a good deed helping out those poor kids. All right. Mikey, I'm not sure if you follow horse racing or not, but over the weekend at the Kentucky Derby, the horse that finished in second place had a horrific accident and broke both of its front ankles. They had to euthanize the animal on the spot. I, for one, am sick of these poor animals having to be killed just for this dumb sport. They're becoming dispensable, and no one seems to care.
It disgusts me how barbaric a society we've become. Does anyone remember Barbaro? This is happening more frequently and these beautiful animals are being slaughtered. I think the sport should be banned. What do you guys think? It's P1 Save the Animals. I do have an opinion on this. You know, I know that they spent about $9 million at Del Mar to redo the turf. And they put in this new kind of very... Space age sort of stuff in there that helped the animals. And I do think to myself, you know, if there was something wrong with the track that was really, really wrong at a track in NASCAR, I think that they would probably do something about it. Now, I know that there's some tracks where there are some issues. Darlington, I know, is a NASCAR track where they've talked about it for years.
I don't know. I do think it's a little sad that the animals have to die that way. I think that they should redo all of those, that they're having problems at them. Or all of them. Why not just redo all of them? Even if you do redo those tracks, you're still going to have an accident. You will. Occasionally, there's going to be a horse. Don't you want to do what you can, though? Absolutely, for sure. I always thought it was really weird. That horses have to be euthanized when they break their legs. Like, we can't figure out something that you can do to help these horses. I was watching something on Animal Planet. What was it, Ash? It was really, like, a process. And, like, it was a really, like, it was so much work. But this woman, like, had this horse that meant everything to her. And every day she would take care of it. But she had it in a cast and then had it, like, literally connected to, like, this metal thing that came down that held his body up. So that his leg would heal. Being a cast. And every day she had to like really, you know, tend to him. But that was helping him to heal it. So, I mean, it is possible. I saw it on Animal Planet. I watched it all the time with Sammy. It sounds like it's really tough to do. It's a great channel. I never knew. Okay. You ever watch the Overweight Pets show with the fat cats and the fat dogs? Oh my gosh, Eddie. Eddie, imagine if you were forced into being Ashley's boyfriend.
funny. Stop. Stop. I don't make him watch it with me. It's me and my dog. It's our time together. We watch Animal Planet. He gets to hear about it. I'll bet. Of course he does. That Mark gets to hear about the Animal Planet shows. That's because he loves me. That's because Mark is listening to him. P1 North County. What do you think? Well, first I have a little disclaimer because I think they're magnificent animals and so don't get me wrong. I'm totally on the animal side but the most humane thing that they could have done for that horse was to put her out right then and there. I mean, she's got two broken front feet. How is she going to, how are they going to get her out of the view of people's eyes, you know?
Now, that sounds like it's humane to us. If you're saying get it out of our view, it sounds like it's humane to us. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Everybody's making a big deal about how they shouldn't have done it right there in front of everybody. I'm like, are you worried? No, no, no, no, ma'am. I don't think that's the deal. I don't think everybody's making the big deal out of doing it in front of everybody. Well, I understand the horse part also. I understand that, you know, the horse is going down and the breeding may be breeding for speed and leaving out bone strength. And that's definitely a possibility. I have a client who's a horse trainer. We talked about it yesterday. And if you breed for one specific thing, like speed, you're going to lose out on other qualities, like bone strength. And the other thing is, is if we're worried about the horse racing, maybe we should look at what they make Premarin out of, which is pregnant mare urine and how they keep the pregnant mares continuing. That's just getting weird. Okay, thank you. Why did we get disconnected? It was just starting to get really weird and good. I was taking notes. Yeah. P1 Jesse? That's right. Go ahead. Yeah, I was a painter before I was a Marine. And it's going to cost more to keep a horse alive than it is to put it down. So that's probably why they put it down. And that horse is going to be in a lot of pain for the rest of its life. So I think the tree hugger just needs to shut up.
Oh, man, I don't know. I'm hearing Eddie's thing, and I'm thinking to myself, they can't develop a way to make these horses heal their legs up? Yeah, give them some metal titanium legs. They can, but it's going to cost more to heal the horse's legs up, though. Well, yeah, but it's not about cost, dude. It's about an animal's life. Like, you take on the responsibility for the animal, and then you're going to look at the bottom line for the deciding factor on its life. Well, if we're talking about cost... There's no reason to have the conversation. Right. If the conversation is about, well, you know, is there a way to be humane with the animals? Right. Well, then if it's about cost, then there's no reason to have the conversation. You go, oh, OK, well, then that's what it's all about. Right. But if you're at all thinking to yourself, well, you know, maybe we could be like humane to the animal. Then you go, well, what can we do? Maybe some develop some sort of space age cast. But isn't the sport itself just outdated? Like, do we really need horse racing? Oh, well, we don't need UFC. We don't need about a billion things. I'm with you on that. Oh, wow. Sky is out. It's a brutal sport. Sky, we don't need the San Francisco Giants to play baseball every day. We don't need that.
But you know what I mean. I mean I want to keep the giants, but I want to get it. No, I'm saying that humans can make the decision to fight and to injure themselves. They're making that decision. They're going into it. These animals have no choice. They're forced into it to have some little dude right on top of them. Those horses have a better life than anything you could possibly imagine. They have a better life than regular horses. Until they get injured. Yes, and then they're SOL. This is a very rare occurrence. I mean, it's not like horses are dying every day. But, I mean, we've been hearing more and more about it in the past couple years. There was a lot last year at Del Mar. At Del Mar, there was a lot. No, last year was the first year that they had the new turf. Two years ago? Yeah, two years ago it was bad. And, you know, you go, well, the horses seem like beautiful animals. You kind of feel bad that they're getting all junked up. Yeah. But I sure do like watching the horsies race. And betting on them. It was unfortunate it happened at the biggest race in the sport. So that's unfortunate. What about dog racing? Can't you just have an animated horse race and bet on that? What? Put up a big screen. Is there any other thing that we do with animals that's betting?
Okay, so I know we do greyhound racing. Do we do anything else with animals? It's betting? Or is that it? Or, you know, where we're using them? Yeah, there's dog shows. I watch it on the Animal Planet with Sammy. Eddie looks like he wants to throw up. Man, those things get competitive, Eddie. You've got to watch. It's so crazy. They have to be dressed up and completely groomed. What do you think, Eddie? People don't bet on dog shows. He just said... Are there other things that people use their animals with? That we bet on. That we bet on. That we bet on. He didn't say bet. Yes, he did. He said it first and he didn't say it second, which is why I had followed with the Animal Planet comment. Wait a minute. I thought that... People use their dogs for dog shows. Hang on a second. I thought that whole Westminster dog show was like the biggest betting event of the year. No. There's not odds on that in Vegas? I don't believe so. That's weird. No. You can get very competitive. That guy's been ripping me off. Every time he's like, you lost, bro. I'm sorry. I was at the Kentucky Derby. You were? Yeah, I was there when it all happened. No way, dude. That's crazy. What was the talk in the place? What was most people saying around there? Well, really, they weren't too focused at all on the number two horse, Eight Bells. They were focused on Big Brown and the horse that won, obviously. But I was warned before the Derby even started,
that PETA was going to have a heyday after the Derby. And it just so happened, because they do every year, it just so happened that they got, you know, the horse that broke its legs and had to be euthanized, and that was a big heyday for them. So are you saying that there were rumors that the horse wasn't doing good before the race? No, absolutely not. There was nothing like that. I actually got to get up close to the horse. Then what do you mean? Why was there PETA talk? Just because PETA's against horse racing. Yeah, my friend that I went with warned me. He told me that PETA always has a heyday after the Derby. Somebody whips the horse too hard, blah, blah, blah, whatever. PETA's always, you know, right there. So when you were leaving the Kentucky Derby this last weekend, did you see PETA presence all over the place? No, I didn't personally see their presence all over the place. Hmm. Well, then I guess. Sure, afterwards. Wasn't that bad then. At least not out there. No, well, I guess every year they always have a heyday with something or something or other. You get it? Heyday. Heyday. I get where he's going. Hey. Heyday. P1 Aztec. Hey, how's it going, guys? It's going good, man. What's going on? I just had a quick suggestion, maybe to shut Sky up a little bit. Why don't we just get rid of the horses and we'll race the jockeys, give them names and stuff.
Yeah, Sky, shut up, dude. Hey, Beto. Don't talk to your tia like that. If they make the choice, you know, to do that, that's fine. Yeah, dude, don't talk to my tia like that, dude. You just said it, too. Yeah, Sky. What? What, Beto? Was that Beto? Yeah, dude. What's up, dude? Hey, what's going on, man? Hey, dude, let's race jockeys, bro. Dude, let's get it on their backs, those little midgets. And we'll ride them like a horse and we'll whip their bottoms with a stick and be like, hey, come on, you little Mexican midget. Johnny Solis, come on, dude. Come on, Johnny Solis, run, run. And then I'll jump on that other dude and I'll be like, what's up, Nagataki? What are you talking about? And I'll whip him with a little chopstick dude. I'll be like, whoa, Nagataki. Enough. Enough. What up, dude? Hey, dude, you got to watch your back, dude. Hey, dude, you better watch your back, dude. I'm ripped. You're pretty scrawny. The homies are mad because you didn't bring the ueras last weekend, man. Dude, you know how come, bro? I went to pick up the ueras, dude. We were ready, dude. We were ready to get them pregnant. I was like, what's up? Pregnant.
What happened? Where were the girls? I thought you were making all these big claims to your homies. I know, dude, and I went there. You were right there, man. Yeah, what happened? I went to get all the weras, dude, and they were on lunch break. What does that even mean? And I was like, oh, man. Beto, hey, Beto. I'll come back in an hour, dude, and you guys will be off their lunch break. Beto, you don't know girls, do you? You're going to go to work on your face. Hey, dude, don't talk to me like that. I'll take spray paint and huff you to death. He's a confused kid. He's my nephew. And he's just confused. He thinks he knows his ways that are cool and they're not cool. I tell him that all the time. I say relax on that stuff, man. California guy has won the right to take his wife's last name. Now. Sky, what is the deal with this? Eddie, what's the matter, Eddie? Why? You have to, Eddie. What's the problem? It's your job. Now, explain to me, Eddie. Don't play this game. No, no, no. I'm just trying to understand. I don't want to go into this. This is so awful. I don't understand it. Awful. I don't understand it. How dare you and your kind. What's going on? I don't know any of this. What did I do? Are you saying?
Wait a minute. Are you saying that you feel that this is something that Skye would think is very good? Absolutely. She said in the past that she wishes her husband could take her last name. Yeah. Don't say that. She said it on our airwaves. We talked about it. We actually had a conversation, Mike. That's crazy. No. Gosh darn it. No. But anyway, so this guy has been dealing with the courts for the last two years. Eddie's giving me the break sign. We got a break. If we break. You quiet down. But I thought you guys wanted to hear about the guy who fought to take his wife's name. If we break, we have to come back and talk about this. I don't want to talk about it. I'm telling you. It's going to make me upset. I like Skye and I don't want to fight her. Skye, you really asked your husband to take your last name? Why? I've explained this to you already. One more time. This time I'll try to understand. Because the last name that is his legal last name really, you know, was the last name of some dude his mom was married to for a couple years. Wasn't his birth father. It's not the guy who he considers his father. And so. And there's no one else in the family except for his brother with that name.
But he's a man and you're a woman. Where do you go from here? It was only his name for 20-some years, but who cares about that? It was my name. Who cares? You're irrelevant. I'm irrelevant because I'm a woman. No, it's... You guys sound like whining little kids. This is The Mikey Show. The following sounds were recorded in San Diego. You're going to need some extra time, so be sure and kind of engage your time out the door with that.
Because you're a man, you're backed up big time on all our freeways. Nothing's getting left undone here as far as the freeways. 5805 northbound, backed up heavily out of Chula Vista on both these freeways up through National City. 805 continues slow in the North Park. There was an earlier car fire here that caused such a mess there. But now it's backing up out of the valley, approaching Murray Ridge. From there it backs up heavily all the way to Governor Drive in the Golden Triangle. On West 94 on the King Freeway, that starts at the 125 now through Lemon Grove all the way to the 805. And then again from the 15 into downtown. West 8, just as bad out of Cajon Valley from Lake Jennings to East Main Street. And then again as you come over to the Grossmont Summit through La Mesa all the way out to the College area. Then again in past the Qualcomm Stadium area. Heading south to 15, it's a crawl from the 78 out of Escondido. Don't expect to be out of that until you get past the 56 into Poway. And as you make that turn on the westbound 56, that's very tough as well. Through right to Penasquitos all the way through Carmel Valley to the 5. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Now, you've been hearing me tell you all about National Polytechnic College of Science. This place is great. And on the phone right now with me, I have P1J. Are you there, Jay? Yeah, how's it going, Mikey? Good, man. How are you? Not too bad. Now, you took non-destructive testing at National Polytechnic College, right? Yes, sir. Okay, now what is non-destructive testing in a, like, real quick way? What is that? You're just examining welds and material to codes and specifications, state requirements. Now, how long did it take you to do that? To go through the college was a year-long college. Did you enjoy the experience? Oh, yeah. It was an outstanding experience. A lot of different opportunities and paths you can take from that school. And do you have a good job today? An outstanding job, yeah. That's awesome, man. I appreciate you coming on, and you took non-destructive testing.
You did it at National Polytechnic College of Science. Jay, I appreciate you taking the time to talk to me, man. No problem. All right, man. And if you want to check it out, go to natpoly.edu. Let it out. Uh-oh. Mexico doesn't even celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Oh, man. There you go. Orale, Mikey. You're such a coconut. Oh, man. Oh, man. Brown on the outside. Wild on the outside. That's Oscar. He's a Mexican that doesn't like me because I'm Mexican, but I don't speak Spanish. Come on, dude.
Make up for it. Have some tequila with me. No, no, no. Oscar. I can't. No, no, no, no. I can't. No, no, no, no. Oscar. Corona. I'm in. Drink this. I can't drink it. Coconut. Uh-oh. 105.3. It was in the song. It was not in the song. It was you whispering. No. I dare you. I think how dare you, sir. Ah, you got me. I heard somebody. Daring somebody. That's true. Welcome back. It is a great song. Who is that on lead vocals? Dave Gahan on lead vocals. Of the band In Excess. That's a good one. That is a good song. Sean really likes it. It's Lucas Rossi. It's Lucas Rossi. Thank you very much.
Barnett Casey. Look at you. Oh, that was so good. Remember trees? Does everybody remember trees? It'll be you and me up in the trees and something will last forever. Oh, this song's so good. How come we don't have that in the system? Evs. Oh, so evs. I can't believe we don't have that in the system. What? I thought we had loaded it. See if it's in the, if we put, if we loaded it. It's on iTunes, I know that. Oh, definitely. Because I downloaded it. Yeah, that's right. That's right. Yeah, see if, oh, sorry, sorry, sorry. There we go. Hello? There it is. Mike, don't ruin it. Mike, ruin it. That's when you ruin it. Okay, sorry, sorry. Is this when he did it on the show? Sounds like it. Half of our audience, what is this? It's just real, hey, listen, first time I heard it, I thought it was catchy. Great. So on the first listen, you should be like, eh, it's not bad. You guys should have won the show. Yeah. That's Marty Casey. Oh, he's so good. He was on that show, Rockstar in Excess. Oh. And he was a...
guy that was from Chicago, and he was just a really good singer, and they asked one week, they said, give us an original song. And he sang that, and all of us saw it that night, and we were all like, first listen, that's a great song. Should be a hit. So then they started offering it on iTunes, and I think it became like a real popular song on iTunes. We are talking about the horses. You know, at the Kentucky Derby this last week, or this last weekend, the horse that came in second place, had to be euthanized on the track because it broke both ankles. Skye's upset about it. And she says, I think everybody's kind of, you know, anybody that hears it thinks it's sad. Yeah, but I think the sport itself is ridiculous. Skye thinks that the sport should go because she's saying, hey, listen, why would we have a sport that animals can die from it just for our entertainment? But don't we eat animals every day? But yeah, but that's not a pointless death. No, you got robbed there. You got robbed there. I think you got robbed there. Some people make millions of dollars. You're putting kids through college, those horses. But now you're having the money conversation. Not about money, Sky says. It's about the life of a living thing. And it's about the life of your child. They're having fun. What do you mean, Eddie? Horses. Are they having fun? I don't know. I don't communicate with animals. Eddie's not a horse whisperer. I'm not at all. Well, then how can he claim that they're having fun? They could. How can he claim they're not? Saw them smiling.
Yeah, Skye, how can you definitively say they're not having a great time? Well, see, I didn't say either way, but Eddie was the one that made the claim. Who's to say these horses aren't like, please, I want to be... Euthanized? Okay. Then what are we supposed to do with horses? We don't ride them anymore. Like, what are we supposed to do with them? They're meant for racing now. Well, wait a minute. We don't eat them. We don't eat them for transportation. Well, what do the other ones do? They wish they were race horses. It's like the top tier for horses. It kind of is. So you're saying that like... What else do horses do in this country? Tell me. Tell me. We don't eat them. I'll tell you what they do. They're not supposed to express anymore. People use them. People use them. Okay, for what? Ranching and farming and, you know, hurting animals. Horse and buggy ever heard of it? Yeah, hello. And some cab rides. Yeah. Yeah, what about really romantic, you know, rides through Central Park? Thank you. Hello. What about all the Budweiser commercials? Yeah. Thank you. Glue. Hello. Thank you. Ever heard of the book Black Stallion? Oh. What happened? Where would we be without? Thank you. That story. That story. The Black Stallion. Where would we be without it? Where would we be without it? P1, Josh. Josh. I say P1, Josh.
Hey, guys. J-O-S-H. There he is, Josh. J-O-S-H. What's going on? Hey, I was calling in about that whole name change thing. Oh, that's funny that you bring that up. It was gone forever, Josh. I was wondering. Good job, J-O-S-H. What's the name change thing? Nothing, Mike, nothing. I forgot. Remember, we were going to talk about the story, about the name change. Oh, for goodness sake, that's the whole thing we were doing. Exactly. Dang it, I thought you forgot. Let's talk about it. Damn it. So, yeah, California. Guy wants to change his last name to his wife's last name when they get married. He wants to take on his wife's last name. And when he goes to fill out the forms and all that stuff, he realizes that they only have it the opposite way for a woman to take a dude's name. Yes. It's the only way they have it offered. Yeah. As it should be. If he wants his wife's last name, he has to pay all these court fees, court appearances, public announcements, all this special paperwork. Well, it's weird. You have to do it when it's weird like that. So he thought that that's not fair. That's not right. If he wants to emasculate himself, I don't think that he should have to, you know, whatever. He shouldn't have to jump through any extra hoops. You admit it is emasculating. Yeah, if he wants to emasculate himself. I mean, if you're sexist and if you look at it that way. Sexist? No, we're Americans and that's our culture. So we're just looking at it like Americans. The world does it. The world does it, right? Would you feel emasculated if like your last name was like,
Teeny Bop and your wife or your new wife's last name was like, you know, Broseph. You would have to change your name to like the more masculine last name. Would you think it was emasculating then, Mike? Or are you like, no, Mike, please, it's emasculating for you to keep my last name. That is a great example. I never thought that. She's got you there, Mike. What if there's a brilliant point there? I'm just not saying. You're not. You're saying that's not the point. You have a masculine last name, so you don't relate. But there's men out there who probably their last name is like Flamboya or something. Flamboya. And then their wife's last name is like Burke. And that's way more masculine. So I don't blame him for wanting to get his wife's last name. The guy's last name is like Fart. And Phil's last name, you know. It's like her name is like Wilma Boobiesteen, you know? No, I think I know an example. Our friend Erica, okay? So she marries Todd. Okay, Todd's last, and there's nothing wrong with the name. There's nothing wrong with it. It just is very different. It's Snackenberg. Hang on a second. It's my name. Listen, there's nothing wrong with his name.
There's nothing wrong with his name. You shouldn't say terrible things like that. Hang on a second. Now, there's nothing wrong with that last name. It's only Bart. But she went from being Erica Marshall to being Erica Snackenberg. And it was tough. It was tough. Thank you. You know, she was like, hey. Now, he is proud of the name. So every time I say it, he writes me an email and he goes, hey. And this guy can kick my butt. No doubt about it. But he is always like. You have to with the last name like Snackenberg. He's got to grow up top. Seriously. Yeah, well, you know what? What is his last name with, like, Tampax or something like that? Well, listen. I still don't think... I think you take on the man's name, period. You take on the man's name. Well, that's great for you. It's called tradition. It's tradition and culture. What are your opinions? I'm not spitting on it. You are. Yes, you are. I'm just saying this is America. I'm just stomping on it. That's all. I'm just saying this is America, and we have the right to do whatever we want. We do. So if we choose, that's the way we want to go cool. No, no, no. We don't have the right to do whatever we want.
Yeah, like if you want to blow up a building. We can't do that. You can go for it. There's laws. You can just do it. Stop it. If you see someone's car and you want it, get in it and take off. Just make it. Bob does it all the time. Now belongs to you. It's called the my car now rule. Thank you. I like it. It's now my car. Thank you, Mike. No, I don't know, man. I just think it's emasculating to take on your wife's name. But that's not a legal issue. That's a deal breaker for me. You think it's emasculating because you're traditional, but we're living in a modern world, so why is this so crazy? It's crazy because our modern world has dictated this. It hasn't changed. In fact, it's only now. It is a little bit. It's only now changing because this dude is wasting court time. So you're saying 100 years down the road, guys will be taking girls' names. I doubt it. If their last name is Two Fruit. Seriously? Dude, I know a guy named Rob Two Fruit. No way. It's like the women, they get to have the babies. Oh, lucky us. You get to take our name. That's the deal. That's the deal.
It's a privilege. You should be honored. Hang on a second. It's a privilege. Well, why wouldn't you be honored to take my name? Because it's backwards. Wait a minute. But let's think of examples of tradition that, like, fits Skye, that she likes. I'm trying to think of them. You know what I mean? No, no, no, no. I mean male-female traditions that she wouldn't want to change. Like anything chivalrous. Yeah. That's all the doors. All of a sudden, we're not supposed to anymore, and now it's just supposed to be the women that open the doors for us. She would hate that. I think that's nice. I think it's nice for people to do nice things for other people, and those are the nice things he wants to do for me. We're talking about husband-wife, though.
The husband's supposed to open the door. But that's not the case here. It would be like if Skye wanted to pump his gas and him being like, no, no. But I doubt Mr. Skye would freak out. I'm sure he'd be like, thanks, I'll kick back. I doubt it. It's whatever, Steve. It's whatever you want to do. It's more one of these deals of like, it's American culture, man. The ladies take on the guy's names. That's the deal. It's always been that way. But it's not a law. No. It's not a law. I do think this, though. It should be. Here's the main thing I thought when I heard of it. I thought, man, this is another example of our culture turning into you owe me. It's another example of our culture turning into the, what's that word? Entitlement. Entitlement. It's the entitlement age. No, it's our culture being fair. Let me explain my thought. And then I want to hear what you guys think. But the entitlement culture is a culture that says, this is the way it is, but I want you to accommodate me. You don't have anything on these forms for me to fill out if I want to take on my wife's name. And it'll cost me like however much money to go through the process of getting my name legally changed. But I'm not going to do that. I'm going to force the hand and make it so that I get my way. Make it fair. Fair. Fair. No.
No. Fair. Yeah, fair is. I don't understand when 99% of the population does it one way, why we have to cater to that 1%. Where'd you get that statistic from Eddie? It's true. That's a fake statistic. It is true. It is true. Time out. You know, the only thing wrong about his statistic is it's higher. Yeah, it's 99.9. 99.9. Where'd you check that out, bro? Well, we got one story. We got one story. We got one story. We got one story. Where's all the stories of all these dudes that are mad that can't change their name to Bubenstein? Nope. Okay, first of all, you would poop. From. From. From. Poopinstein. You know, Poopinstein. But you digress. What? You know, it's the same people that want to take God off the dollar bill. Yeah. You know, it's like, why? It's like one dude. What does it bother you? No, because that's different. It's like my main dude. It isn't. What does it bother you? That doesn't have to do with men versus women. P1 Patrick, are you there? Oh, this line is. Yeah, I sure am. This line's messed up. What about women proposing to men? It's terrible. It's terrible. I hate when someone expresses their love. It is terrible. It is. It is terrible. It's horrendous. Tradition states men ask women to marry them. Who cares what tradition states? Everybody. We can't be individuals. We can't have our own thoughts and feelings. We only have to go by tradition. That's what 99% of the population says. See, my problem with it is that it then, like, I kind of think of tradition.
as this really, really beautiful lake. And whenever anybody does that, it's like throwing a turd in the lake. It's like polluting the lake. The lake is beautiful. It's tradition. It's beautiful. And then when you do something to it like that, it kind of messes it up. My turds are beautiful. It only makes it a beautiful turd lake. That's why I leave the door open. Come enjoy my beauty. And... Beauty, beauty, beauty. Beauty, beauty, beauty, beauty. Take it in. Can someone get me a towel? Beauty, beauty. Quit wafting that. Beauty. No more. It stinks like beauty. Ew, ew. Mikey, true story. I met a guy who changed his last name from Screws because he and his wife had twin girls, so he wanted to save them from the name-calling later in life. Love it. Whose last name is Screws? I guess this guy's last name was really Screws. How does that happen? Was that a joke or an Ellis Island? It was probably S-K-R-U-Z.
Screws. Yeah. See, now what about that? Would you do that if you were in that situation? What do you mean? Well, but that's a separate issue from getting married, though. That's just wanting to change your name. Which I totally understand. What do you mean, Shawnee? Like, you know, if you have a last name that you don't like, you go down to the courthouse, you have your name legally changed to another name. That's not through the process of marriage. That way your wife and family can still take it on. Take your name. Yeah, exactly. So what was this guy's deal, Sky? Why was he wanting to change to his wife's name? Because he is much closer to her father and has a better relationship and greater respect for her father and wanted to honor him. And I guess obviously not such a good relationship with his own father. So what's the point of honoring that guy? So when they went to fill out the marriage forms, there wasn't a spot to change it. Yeah, just because his father is no good. Doesn't mean the name is no good. You make yourself, you make yourself in this world. Make your name, you know, better than your father was. Or if you want to change it, go ahead. Or if you want to take your jowl's name, that's fine. Just go through the proper procedure. Sean changed his name, so I think, you know. Change your name. It's fine. You can change it, but why don't you just go through the proper protocol? Yeah, like I did. Because if you're taking your wife's name.
Why? There is no such thing. There's no such thing. Yes, there is. There's no precedent for it. You just made that up. You sued, and now there's a precedent. In California, but other states do it. Where? Other states. They say that currently there's... She just made that up. She just made that up. No, they say there's... She's like, yeah, right here. Who's they? West Dakota. West Dakota. No. They said that there's... Frank-a-choose-its. Vermont, Hampshire. They say that there's 40 states that don't do this. There you go. But that'd be in Clownida. Clownida? So it is done in other states. Hello? Liberal choosets. Let's see. P1 Robbie is on the line. P1 Robbie. What's up, man? You know, you guys were speaking on it earlier. I really don't know my... family from my last name side really at all. My wife took my last name, but it wouldn't really matter to me, to be honest. You don't want to keep your name that you've had for however long you've been alive? Well, you know, I'm close to her family, but I have no relation to anyone from my side of the family. You know what, man? I'll tell you what, Robbie. If it doesn't mean anything to you, that's fine, because the truth is, it doesn't mean anything to me, really, if you take on your wife's name. That doesn't...
It doesn't matter. He's not emasculated. It doesn't matter to me, but I do believe it's emasculating. Absolutely. I mean, that's my opinion. I think it's emasculating, but I thought, whatever, knock yourself out. How would anyone even know? Hang on. Hang on. Let me get my point out there. Who cares what he does? He wants to be all girly. He wants to be all girly. Well, it is by definition girly. Girls take on the guy's name, but if he wants to be girly, knock yourself out. The only thing that I don't think is cool about is this whole, like, taking people to court to change it for you and blah, blah, blah. Well, we need to put a space on the form. Why should you have to pay extra money and jump through hoops to have the same rights that women do? For one guy? The same rights. It is a right. So ridiculous. Same rights. It's not like the rights doesn't exist. It's just that there's a different paperwork flow for it. And money and cost. Now we're spending money and cost. We've got to get everything reprinted. And do what? Throw all the old stuff out? Yeah, we've got to take all the old stuff out. Recycle it. Recycle it. Make airplanes and bunnies. Or just add another line to the floor. I don't care. Airplanes and bunnies. Let's just make the word beautiful.
Thank you. That's what I've always said. I've said it a million times, man. So you change your name to your wife's name. Mikey, if Skye doesn't think traditions matter, why does she insist on keeping her family name tradition? Thank you! Show's stopping. Show's stopping. We're stopping the show. Skye? I didn't even catch that. Throw it back out there. If Skye doesn't think traditions matter, why does she insist on keeping her family name tradition? I don't understand. The L, the daughter being an L, your middle name is a boy's name. I never said tradition doesn't matter. You said that these traditions, like you make your new tradition. We've said that to you for years with naming your daughter, but you said, no way, I got to keep tradition L. I said traditions aren't laws. You can break them whenever you want. You can do whatever you're comfortable with. What's the law that's being broken?
There is no law being broken. We're changing the law to accommodate you. Yeah, but you're saying, oh, well, it's tradition. It should become the same. And I think tradition is up to the individual. If that tradition is important to you. Me too. But don't make us all have to pay for it. This dude's like changing the laws. No, you're not having to pay for crap. We do. We're taxpayers. You know it's going through courts. Oh, gosh. Calm down. Hello? Common sense on line one. Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Joining us now in the studio from Frank's Energy is the very sexy Heidi. sleep train mattress centers. This run continues to be just a nightmare. Pretty much the money. It is basically just backed up from wherever you're starting to wherever you're going on any freeway here because of the rain this morning. It really caused a mess. Search up in the South Bay. Nothing's really much changed. Both the 5805 northbound jammed up out of Chula Vista all the way up into the city. The 805 continues solid with the brake lights into the Golden Triangle. The 5 freeway stays heavy all the way in downtown past the airport in the Mission Bay. East County is affected as well. West 94, backed up from the 125 all the way to downtown. Your West 8 ride, seeing slow traffic here as you work your way out of the Cajon Valley from before Lake Jennings Park Road. That continues out to around East Main Street. You actually get a break for a bit of a stretch on the 8. Then it hits you again coming into La Mesa, Jackson Drive, all the way into Mission Valley. Hotel Circle all the way to the 5. Just miles and miles of brake lights hitting you this morning. South Ponson of the 15 solid from Escondido off the 78. All the way into Miramar now. Westbound 56. The brake lights from the 15 continues solid all the way to the 5. And the coaster rides south on the 5. That's no different. That's heavily backed up here from before. Tamarack and Carlsbad. Actually, we think Carlsbad does drive all the way to Salon and Beach. So definitely give yourself some extra time this morning. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. Forget it. I'm irritated. Eddie? I mean, you want to talk about a buzzkill. Yeah.
K-I-O-Z, San Diego's Rock. With another Mikey moment. Yeah, internet, get rid of it. Who cares about it? How would you put up pictures of your shirtless cut body if you didn't have the internet, Rob? How would you do that, Rob? How would you do it? How would anyone get to see how cut you were cut? I would text people those. I barely have time to go on the internet. All I do. Is work hours. What would you say? I appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. Have you seen my MySpace page? Unfortunately. You can see me without a shirt. Even P1 Sanjaya wishes he had this rock high. Are you sure that wasn't on GaySpace? 105.3. Get it in your last name, Sky. And then you're going to change it to Sky. What? Say 22. A warning is being issued in Escondido after two mountain lions were spotted. Looks like Kobe Bryant's going to be named the NBA MVP today. Mikey, if the man whose last name is Screws wanted to save his daughter, he could have had them take his wife's maiden name. Then he could have kept his name. That would have been less emasculating. Let's take your phone calls. 570-1053. Text us, 35253. What do you think about this?
How did we get started on this? Oh, yeah, this guy. This guy wanted his wife's name. Clown school. Big time clown. Awesome. Oh, man, I want to wonder what he's all about. Everybody probably hates him. It does say he's a computer programmer. Yep, for sure. Do you think that he gets along with all of his coworkers? I'm asking. No, no way. You say no. He's a lot like Skye. with everyone. That's news to me. P1 Rice Man is on the line. Hello, Rice Man. Mikey, what's happening? What's going on? Hey, just I got a quick comment for it. My only, okay, I'm all about tradition first and foremost, alright? But my only argument could be this, is that like, I'm a son and I got two brothers to carry on my family name, right? I think that it should only be an option.
If you have total love and respect for your wife enough, like say she's a, you know, she's got a family line and a family line of daughters. She's the last one, you know, her last name is whatever. And so it dies. I think that's beautiful. You can say, you know, it's actually my same situation. My mom dying out. And, you know, if you have that true love and respect for her family and you can say, you know what, I'll do this. I got two brothers take on my family name. I'll go ahead and take yours. Try to pump out some boys. If we get them, awesome. If we don't, A, better luck next time, I guess. But that could be my only argument saying that. Right. I like you. Rice, man. Listen, Rice, man. Sir. I think that that's fantastic, and I don't have an issue with you doing that. I mean, if you want to do that, man, and you love your woman, and you're willing to do that for your woman, all right, that's cool. I don't think that you should be taking anybody to court to make sure that you. Absolutely not. Go through the process, dude. I mean, it's just a little smudge at the bottom of the paper saying that it's an option. If you want to be a sissy dude other than having the wife's last name because she's going to die out in her family line, then that should be an option at the bottom of the page. If you want to go above and beyond the norm, you should have to pay for it.
I agree. That's all I'm saying. Fighting for freedoms and tradition and keeping God on the dollar bill. All I'm saying is that that little option page at the very bottom line of that. That's fine. Dude, no, forget the form. You pay for it. Why shouldn't you have to pay for it? Because if a woman has the right, then a man should have the right. You want to go above and beyond. The norm. The original form is flawed. It is not. It is bias. Why do you, why should the government have to pay for it? The government's already paying for it, though. If the government's already putting in one line at the bottom of the page saying, if you really want to change your name to the wife, go ahead. It's like a few more splotches of ink and a few more typed letters saying, okay, do you want to change your name to your wife's name? It should be simple. I don't see a lot of money going into it. I see more money going into it, changing like a whole, you know, barrage of forms. I thought you were American, bro. Yeah. Get him. Yeah. For the French, apparently. Yeah. All right, Rice, man. I appreciate the phone call, bro.
Excuse my French everybody in America. P1, Tammy. Tammy. P1, Rob. What's going on, Mike? What's going on? Yes, that is right. Before they got married, like, we totally clowned her so hard. That's awesome. It was so bad. We were like, we should try to get him to take your name. And then, of course, I'm sitting there driving, and I'm listening to you guys, and I was dying. I had to pull over. I was dying. That's right. So I gave her a call. I was like, they're clowning you today. I had to give you guys a little jingle and chime in myself, bro. There you go. Thank you very much for the call. P1 Melissa. Hey, good morning, Mikey. Hi.
Hey, good morning. Hey, I want to just let everybody know that California is a common usage state. Nobody needs to change their name formally anywhere. You can walk around and call yourself Mikey Peabody if you wanted to. What? Change it back next week if you wanted to. Wait, legally? Legally, you don't have to file anything with the court. You can change your name. That's great. Then we don't have any problems, guy. I am now Eddie Kingbone. That's right. I am super wicked awesome guy, yeah. My game, I'm a swaggy. Yes. I've never heard that. The Red Sox are the worst. I'm sticking with super wicked awesome guy, yeah. Go ahead. Zeth is now officially Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates, Jr., the third Esquire. Nice. Thank you for the call, Melissa. Sky, what's your new name? I am wrong. P1 Tide. You don't like the middle name? Mike A. Doesn't begin with an L. What's up, dude? Hey, I just thought I'd point out maybe a tradition that we should change and be like the Europeans since Sky loves her liberal ways. The European tradition for wedding rings.
is they don't buy a wedding ring for the female. They just do straight bands. And I know she's probably got a fat rock on her finger and wouldn't want to change that tradition. No, that's fine. I'd be fine with changing that. To what? Just a band? Just a band. Just a band. All right. I think that's beautiful. Yeah. Why are you laughing at me? It is adorable. I got no problems with that. If that's what somebody wants to do. In theory. That's fine. Okay. Haven't you seen what Diamond do? No. Oh, come on. Stop it. Can you do something about this? Yes, please. Skye, I think we've heard enough this morning. Hey, I'm not allowed to have it. Your ring is a blood diamond? Is that what you're saying? I don't know if I would have seen that movie before we got married. I don't know what. If I'd have seen it before he proposed.
This would be wooden. Oh, my God. Well, no, there's nothing wrong with this. Until Bloodwood comes out. The sequel? Yes, the sequel, Bloodwood. Bloodwood. I believe you, Skye. Thank you, Ash. You are the president of Clown Village. That is right, dude. You are the queen of Clowntasia. Yes. You're the prime minister, honey. That's right. You speak clownese. Yeah, you live in Clown Victoria. How do you know, Mike? This is a recycled diamond. I'm the one who gets it. You guys are clowns. 100% recycled blood. You drive a Clown Victoria. Shut up. Whatever. You drink Clown Royale. That's right. I'm sure I'm going to change my name to your last name. Yeah, dude. Mine's the best. Woods. It's real strong. Masculine. That's what it is, dude. Might as well be penis. Look how masculine it is. It's so good. I'm real masculine. I'm spitting. Sorry, I don't use filters. It's tobacco. It's really gross.
I don't smoke filters. Sorry, dude. I just put that out on a cop from your balcony. Sorry about that, bro. I've told you, Steve. I know, dude. It's just a habit. I like to throw my butts. You flick them and you flick it on a cop. Okay, sorry. The pig was walking up the stairs. Burt bacon. Yeah, great. Smells like burnt bacon. That's the biggest clown in the universe. This guy's running, mate. Our friend Steve Woods threw a cigarette butt off the side and hits a police officer. And he goes, oh, I hit a pig. Sorry. I'm like, dude, shh, quiet. Quiet. Don't talk. Dude, okay, I'm sorry. My bad, dude. My bad, dude. What do you want me to do? No, stop apologizing to him. You're making him more angry. Hey, I'm sorry. Hey, cop, I'm sorry. It was a good shot. What do you want? This is a true story, by the way. No way, Jose. It was.
You can text us at 35253. Steve, pigs is a bad, like, that's a bad thing, dude. They don't like that. It's like a derogatory term. Dude, I've been calling them that since I was a kid. Dude, that and women. Yeah, what are you talking about? Chops and women. Pigs. Dude, you don't call them that. That's terrible. You don't say that. No. It's a bad thing to say. When we come back. Oh, chocolate girl. We're going to do... Well, first of all, I've got to get to this Tom Cruise audio. I'll support him for my whole life. I'll bleed for him. I don't care. I love my team. And Ashley. Not many things annoy me at all. The Mikey Show's on. Rock. 105.3. Uh-huh. I say he's so sweet. I wanna love the rap. So I love it. This is the number one. It's the number one hip hop song in the country. It's by Little Wayne. Little. Little. Little. Little. Little Wayne. Song is called Lollipop. I have it in my city right now. What's up? Say 38. The FBI confirmed yesterday similarities between the bomb used over the weekend at the federal courthouse downtown and the bomb discovered at a federal express facility.
According to sources, the bullet casings found at the Philadelphia shooting belong to Marvin Harrison. I do it for the ladies. 35253 is our text number, our phone number 5701053. This is the number one song on iTunes right now. It's called Love in This Club. Never heard of them. It's Usher and Young Jeezy. Oh, of course. I have a cousin named Young Jeezy. Did you? Yeah, it's a family name, so we've kept it. Young Jeezy. Yeah, nice. So, that one's going out too young. He's middle-aged Jeezy. That's right. So, yeah, yesterday, part two, Tom Cruise on the Ofra show. This is interesting. Cut six. And she's talking. She's talking. Sorry. Dada Cruz. Yeah, Dada Cruz.
What did you say? Dada Cruz. I said, how did she know? She just comes over these things. Yeah. I'm amazed. I mean, you met her. Yeah. She likes to dance and sing. Yes. Get her nails done with her mom, you know. It's really beautiful. What? She's two. She's two. You weren't getting pedicures at two? Well, the part of it that struck me as different was the child calling. Yeah. Calling him by his last name. Oh, that's weird. And isn't that not even his real last name? Uh, I don't know. I don't know. I've heard that, like, Tom Cruise is, that's not his real last name. Really? I didn't know that. Which would make it stranger. That's crazy! If that's a deal. But either way, I don't understand why you call it, why I say your last name. Uh, it's different. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith vow, or, uh, vouch for the friendship. Cut one. When that man...
slid into that room naked with them sunglasses on. It's like every man can't just slide in a room naked with sunglasses on and pull it off. So I knew at that point, he's a star. He's really wonderful to work with. Yeah, like when he was trying to kill you. That was intense when he was trying to kill me. Always full of energy. That's how he and I became friends because we just had a real good time together. And I didn't know, you know. What? No, I'm just being silly. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. So anyway, as I was saying, I know people will celebrate Tom's accomplishments professionally. But to me, nothing that he's done professionally holds a candle to who he is as a human being. And that's real. I've met very few people who have made that commitment that when they leave this place, they want the world to be better. period, because they were here. And this dude has made that commitment. There's not a single piece of press. There's not been a single interview. There's not been a single image in the 25 years of his career that gets anywhere near capturing who he is. I want people to know I can't say. I'll be like, I can't believe you said that. They're very good friends with them. So are the Beckhams.
And everybody that knows him says kind of the same thing, that he's a really nice guy, Tom Cruise. His real name is Thomas Cruise Mapather, the fourth. And so it is unusual that his last name is Mapather, so you would guess that Suri's real name is Suri Mapather. I'm sure he legally changed it. To Cruise? Yeah. He's been Tom Cruise forever. I wonder if he did legally change it, or if you keep it as your stage name. I would never change my name legally to Mikey. Yeah, but he's known everywhere as Tom Cruise. So is Madonna. Is Madonna's real name Madonna? Yeah. What about... Like Alicia Keys? I don't think that's her real name. To legally change it to that name would mean that you'd sign checks that way and everything? Why would you want to do it? You'd probably get checks and things like that in that name. Why? I don't get my checks that way. My name's Mikey on the air. But why would you... What would be the...
Like, let's say Madonna's real name was Louise something. Let's say her real name was that. What would be the benefit of getting checks made out to you as Madonna? You know, if you work for Paramount Pictures, they're going to make your check out to whatever you write down on your W-2 or whatever. I guess. I'm just trying to see the benefit and going, well, I'm Tom Cruise, so I want you to make it payable to Tom Cruise. I just don't understand. It just streamlines everything, I think. But what does that mean? Like, if you borrow 20 bucks from your neighbor and they need to write you a check, and they'll be like, okay, here you go, Tom Cruise. Oh, actually, no, it's Tom Malopoulos. Now, is that the deal? Is that the deal, Skye? So, in other words, Tom's like, well, I have the neighbors coming over. No, no, no. I'm going to the neighbor's lot to borrow the 20 bucks. Yes, yes. And when they pay me back, I want them to be able to not have to put Mapather. Thank you, Mike. It makes sense. Now you get it. Now I get it. Here is Dustin Hoffman explaining his favorite scene with Tom Cruise in the movie Rain Man, cut four. I'll never forget the scene in Rain Man when we were in the phone booth outside. It was blistering hot that day, and we'd done several takes from the phone booth. The door closed. I don't know why, but just before a take, I emitted gas, and you weren't able to open the door because they were going right into the take.
And so you made it a part of the scene. Charlie Babbitt. Uh-oh, fart. Yeah, Charlie Babbitt, I'll call him. Fart. Did you fart right now? Fart. Fart. How can you stand that? I don't mind it. How can you stand it? This is my favorite moment of any film I've ever done. That includes Shakespeare that I've done on stage, anything. It's the fart scene. Wow. It was all ad-libbed, I guess. That's awesome. You guys remember Ethan on Lost? Yeah. You guys remember Ethan? Oh, yeah. It's Tom Cruise's cousin. Oh, no way. William Mappather III, Esquire, Jr. Oh, wow. Rosie O'Donnell. Rosie O'Donnell? Sethian Oates. That's his full name. That's a full name. That's a hell of a name. All right, one last one, and then I'll be very bored of hearing people talk about Tom. Steven Spielberg. Oh.
When I met Tom, he was just this new actor, this new risky young, you know, movie star in waiting. And he was doing risky business. And the first thing I thought about was, what do I have in the oven that he'd be great in? Couldn't find a thing at that moment. And of course, his career took off and left us all in the dust. The performance that got to me the most was Magnolia. It was my favorite of all of Tom's performances. Biggest comedy Sky's ever seen. I can't include any of the two films I made with Tom. But that performance, especially the scene with Jason Robards, was... That's the scene Sky laughs at. What's that funny? This is for you. Sky's laughing already. The audience listens when he says a line of dialogue or when he's even being silent and reacting to someone else speaking. He's a magnet for our attention. I've actually liked him in a couple of movies. I liked him in Magnolia, and I liked him in The Color of Money. He was great in Jerry Maguire. Oh, loved him in Jerry Maguire. I haven't seen that one. But I liked him in... I also liked him in the one where he was with his wife in Nicole Kidman. Eddie's staring you down. I haven't seen it, Eddie. Eddie's staring you down. I haven't seen Jerry Maguire. I know that this is something that I should apologize for, and I will. How? I should have. I should have. How? I should have.
I don't know how it happened. I can't remember that period. I don't remember when that was. When did that come out? I don't know, 91? I know I owe you an apology for this one. I haven't seen it. That's beyond shocking. I know. How have I not seen it? When did it come out? Not 91. It was like 98. I haven't seen it. I didn't see it either. You haven't seen it either? Nope. You've never seen Jerry Maguire? I know he goes, show me the money. That's great. Show me the money. He goes, show me the money. You had me at money. Hello. Yeah. You had me at money. Yeah. Money. That was Skye. Hello. You guys get those confused. Jerry Maguire came out in 96. Eddie, you're saying that Skye's line was. Yes. You had me at money. Yes. She says it all the time. I can't believe you've never seen Jerry Maguire. 570105. I haven't seen it. It's so good. I love it. Wow, Mike. Yeah, I bet I would. I bet I would. Mikey's show, hello. Mikey's show, favorite all time, Top Gun. That's not from his wife's era. Everybody loves Top Gun. I wasn't that big of a fan of Top Gun. Yeah, it's all right. Oh, come on. What two movies did he do with Spielberg? War of the Worlds and what? I can only remember War of the Worlds. The only one I know of.
I think it is the only one. What do you got on IMDb? I'm looking. Roosevelt, Zethion Oates III, Esquire Jr. The Magnolia performance was fantastic. I haven't seen that. Nope. So funny. Yep. It's a good time. Sounds funny. I loved him in Forrest Gump. So good in that. He wasn't in that, Eddie. He wasn't in Forrest Gump. He wasn't in Forrest Gump. He wasn't in it. He was Forrest. He was not Forrest. That was not Tom Cruise. Tom Hanks. Tom Hanks. Different Tom. I liked him in Hunt for Red October. Really good in that. He wasn't in that. You're thinking of Tommy Lee Jones, maybe? I would have said Alec Baldwin, but... Good guess, though. You're wrong with it. That's... Alec Baldwin. Whatever. Or Tommy Lee Jones. Whatever. Interchangeable. He's good in Magnum P.I. That is true. He was actually a professional boxer that appeared in one of the Rocky movies. Later got AIDS.
But then he got rid of it. That's Tommy Morrison. Not that's who we were talking about. No, Tom Cruise. The whole time I thought we were talking about that same guy. Tom Cruise. Wasn't he married to Mariah Carey? He was married to Mariah Carey for like... Oh, right. You're just naming Tommy's. Oh, oh, oh. I do like your shirts. Half of Chong. Just stop. Just stop. Half of Chong. He was half a Chong. Half of Chong. You're referring to Cheech and Chong. Half of Chong. Half of Chong. And it's ridiculous. Half of Chong. Tommy Lee Chong. You are ridiculous. Oats. Yo, come on. Who was the other Spielberg movie? It was in Endless Love, right? Oh, right now. Spielberg made that, right? I'd confuse him with Brooke Shields. Stop it, okay? I'm not seeing any other Spielberg movies. He wasn't in another Spielberg. Yeah, I'm not seeing any. He said it. He said that he wanted him, but he was unavailable. That's not true. He said, I can't. Minority Report. Minority Report. Minority Report. Minority Report. That was Gary Sinise.
Wait. Tom Cruise has been in movies with almost every great film director ever. He's been in Spielberg. Scorsese. Scorsese. He's a mummy. He's been in Kubrick. He's been directed by Kubrick. Who else? What am I forgetting? David Lynch. What about Paul Thomas Anderson? Yeah, Paul Thomas Anderson. He was one of the frogs. You're such a jerk. What a jerk. The frogs. That doesn't make sense to Ashley because she'd never seen Magnolia. At the end of the film, it rains frogs. Oh, it does? Yep, nobody likes it. Everyone hates it. It was the one on the right. Sean, there was about 900,000 frogs that rained down, and you know full well. I'm scared. You know full well that's the deal. Really? Text numbers. Let's not forget Dune. He was great. Up there already. Now, see, how am I supposed to know? 35253 is the text number. He was the dude that flew around, right? Yeah. He was in Wizard of Oz, wasn't he? No. Why? Oh, come on. Dude, little monkeys.

Part-time Hillary supporter, full-time black woman. Hello. I don't think so, but... Am I throwing my words, by the way? A little. A little. I am flurring my words. I am not. So, I'm fine. I'm just so... Barbara, even you have to admit that was really terrible. It wasn't that bad, actually, Eddie. And if you keep talking about it, mama's gonna knock you out. Okay. Not very relevant. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Welcome back. It is...
9-0-1. Marvel Studios announced yesterday their plans for Iron Man 2. Talk about it. Padres had the day off yesterday. Going to start a series with the Braves tonight. Chris Young on the hill. First pitch for 10. I think Shawnee looks good in the pullover shirts. I like it. What are your guys' thoughts? It's a little different. I'm used to seeing him in the double T's. What is your preference? Pullover or Hawaiian shirt? I like my Sean. My Sean. You like your Sean. My Sean. I like my Sean. Heard that. Which is preferably in the double T's. Well, the undershirt with the fruit flavored overshot. Yes. I drastically prefer the pullover, Skye. Thank you. Look at him. He doesn't look like Sean. Yeah. He looks like he's about 20 years younger. I like him. I think he looks very nice in the polo, but I do miss the old Shawnee in the fruit flavored shirts. So you guys are just, it's nostalgia. Yeah. Me and Sky are all about tradition. Wait. Ash. Eddie and I have a hard time dealing with change. That is true. That is true. I think green looks great on him, but I do prefer the Hawaiian shirts probably just because it's what I'm used to and I hate change. Shani, what about you? What's your preference? I prefer the Hawaiian shirts and the fruit shirts are dead. They're gone. They're done? What happened? What happened?
Who said something? Somebody said something. What's going on? His wife said... Tina hates you? What's going on? Tell us, turkey. Yeah, you turkey. No way, Jose. Yeah, I'm done with him. What's the deal? What's going on? First we have to explain. First we have to explain. First we have to explain. Lemon curd? First we have to explain. Oh, dude. Lemon was a good one. Shawnee... would wear an undershirt. Now, I say undershirt because if I ever called it a T-shirt, he got upset. Well, it's not a T-shirt. It's an undershirt. It's like Hanes, you know, underwear T-shirt. White. Okay, that goes underneath. Very common thing. People do that. Well, not with T-shirts, but go ahead. But then on top of that, he would wear what he would term a T-shirt. A t-shirt goes over the undershirt. And the t-shirts were all solid colors. All fruit flavors. Yes, and Skye and Eddie would point out, oh, look at that. You've got a lemon today. Lime. Cherry. They were not fruit flavors or whatever you're calling them. He was like that fruit stripe gum. Would he buy them in the multi-pack?
They were not. They were just solid colors. He was like the color of a rainbow. He was like a Crayola. He was like the gay flag. That's exactly what he was. You're a horse's ass, you know that? Wait a second, horse's ass. So, Shawnee, talk to us. What happened? What made you get rid of him? I don't like him. I don't want him anymore. That's a lie. That's a lie. That's a lie. That's a lie. It's not a lie. Who said what, Sean? No one said anything. You tell me. I'll take care of it. I saw myself in a photo and I thought it looked like crap. Did you ask your wife what she thought? I don't think so. Come on. You didn't make this decision. You've been wearing these shirts for years. You just all of a sudden looked at yourself in a photo. Are there terrorists involved? Yeah. In fact, I'll tell you exactly what it was. There was a, there's like a publication that they have in the building, you know, and there was some kind of like spotlight on whatever. I'm sorry. I don't know what's going on in San Francisco. Sean, don't check out. No, you're right. I'm sorry. No, you're right. How can I make it up? Shut up. You got it. All right, Shawnee. So there's a publication in the building. What's it called? It's not called anything. It's just some dumb thing. And so they took a picture of me and put it in there, and I saw it, and I was horrified by it. Do you have a copy? Which flavor were you wearing? I don't know. I might. It's a good question. Can we put it on the website?
Sean, what flavor? If I can find it, I'll put it. Maybe the other flavors still look good on you. Were you wearing lemon or what happened? I don't recall, to be honest. Oh, come on. I don't recall. It was orange. I never cared for orange. No, I didn't care for orange. You were not a fan of the orange? No. I thought it was a little too pumpkin-y. Class with the skin tone. I like the saltwater taffy green myself. That was my favorite was the saltwater taffy green. I did not have saltwater taffy. What? That's Sean. Yeah. Let's see. He's a clown. You're a clown. You're all clowns. Ever since we started talking about his shirt, he keeps playing. I know. He keeps playing with the buttons and the collar. You know what? What about your pants? Oh, whoa. Whoa. What are you doing? Don't take that off. Do not. You do not take that shirt off. Actually, I'm okay with it. Oh, you guys, I like that shirt on him better. Nah, let's see that Sean right there. I feel so much better. There's our little coconut. That's good, yeah. You can really let the folds go out. Let's see them, let's see them. Don't mind if you... No, do not do that, Sean. Do not do that. I love it. I love it.
It was close. Hot. I went shopping with Sean once. No way. Once. How'd it go? Well, he came to visit and he needed something. And so we had to go shop. And the experience is riveting. Didn't we go shopping at Eastridge, Sean? I think he goes shopping, like, you know, in lieu of packing. I think we did, too. I don't remember for what, though. Really? I think so. What's the big deal? I think he doesn't like to pack. He's a weird guy. That is not true. Like, in his mind, gross stuff will get on it in the cargo bin of the plane or something. Well, there is, you know, yeah. Okay. Well, ever since 9-11, you know, you have to have, like, if you lock your stuff, you have to have a special lock so they can get into it. So you know they've been through your stuff. And what's going to happen? Well, dude, I mean, they're... You parvo? Like what? Well, think about this. Their hands or gloves or whatever they're wearing... They're wearing gloves. ...have touched other people's... junk. You don't know what they packed. You don't know what's in there, and you don't know what kind of people they are either. It could have been B-Rob's suitcase, for all I know. Can you imagine? He doesn't ever check a bag. Never. Well, that's not to say that there aren't other dirt bags to check bags. Ever? Nope. I don't do it either. What? You don't ever go anywhere. You've never seen a plane. They're expensive. They cost money to get on those things.
Out when you travel down below. What does that even mean? I don't know what that means. I think it's sexual. Next Terminator movie is going to be rated PG-13 instead of R like all the other ones. Terminator Salvation, The Future Begins. You know what that's about, don't you, Mike? No, but I'm like, am I out on it anyway? I mean, Schwarzenegger's 104. He's not in it. He's not in it, Mike. Is it another chick? Christian Bale, dude. Oh! He plays John Connor as an adult. Nice. Okay, that's cool. Yeah, but they're doing the whole PG-13 thing like they did with the last Die Hard movie to get more people to come. Well, why? I mean, what are we going to miss out on? I don't know. Something. Boobs. Did they have that in other ones? No. I don't know. What was R before? It was violence. Violence, language. Yeah. Well, I liked them. I thought those movies were really good.
And Christian Bale? Love him. John Connor? That's awesome. That's great casting. Awesome! I think it'll be really good. I guess Edward Furlong was busy. No, it's just that his voice still sounds like this. That's not very good. I'm John Connor. You can't just go around killing him. You still sound like you're 12. You just don't age. No! And you're still annoying. Yeah. That's why I'm wearing underoos. Underoos. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Dennis Rodman checked himself into outpatient rehab. That's probably why she looked different last episode. Yeah, you could tell. You could tell. You could totally tell. Yeah, her face was fat. Yes, it was. Another crew member on the set of the new James Bond movie has been hurt. Come on. Okay, what happened? First, there was two, like, a couple of car crashes. Car into, like, a lake, right? Yeah, first there was a car into a lake. It's Ricky Lake, actually. That is what happened. It crashed right into Ricky Lake. Massive damage. It was, like, a quarter million dollar car that went into a lake. And then the other incident was a crash when they were taping a chase scene. And then this time, a crew member was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood. Oh, no. Turns out that the dude was stabbed in some sort of domestic dispute and was able to crawl outside. What? That doesn't count. It wasn't on the set or anything, right? Well, dude, but it's like the whole thing. Many people wondered what was going on. Oh, no. This guy gives it. Dateline. In fact, when the new James Bond movie was ready to start production. Yeah.
Everyone went to France to begin filming. No one thought that anything was wrong at all until the first car crash. People took pause. Then when the second car crash happened, well, a lot of people were starting to ask questions. Is something going on? But then when the third person was heard, well, then a lot of people back in Los Angeles were asking questions. Yeah, but voiceover guy. Yes. It wasn't on the set or it had nothing to do with the movie. That's right, which raised even more. No, I don't know if it happened to Daniel Craig, maybe. That's right. And then, finally, people started to wonder, what are all those strange lights at night while they're filming this movie? That's not even a story. You're making stuff up now. Then finally, one of the actors... was actually abducted into a UFO. No, that didn't happen. Probed in places that we can't talk about here because of FCC rules. Probably good. The Mikey Show is on. Boss? Yeah? Do we have to eat here again? Yes, lunches are taking too long. This place gets us in and out. But it's weird. Yeah, it's fine. Here comes the waitress.

sleep train mattress centers. Well, the commute should be winding down, but what a mess. It's still on the freeway. There's still plenty of brake lights to deal with. You're still going to have to give yourself some extra time. Things are just jammed up big time still. As you come out of the South Bay, 805 northbound, slowing at Home Avenue. From there, it's solid, though, all the way into the Golden Triangle. Plenty of miles of brake lights there. Northbound side of the 5, still heavy as well, approaching the bridge, and that continues slow. Through downtown, past the airport, in towards Mission Bay, past the 52. Then you've got the westbound 8, starting to look a little bit better on you here. Some bunched up traffic through La Mesa, then again past the Q. Still back there from El Norte Parkway, and that's a solid slow ride all the way in towards Poway. The coaster rides south 5, struggling as well at a Carlsbad. From Palomar Airport Road Solid all the way to Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Let me read you a little email. Dear Eddie, I have never liked hot dogs my entire life. The tanginess of the meat just doesn't sit well with me, even when loaded with tons of other things on top. The same goes with pulled sausages and other meats of that nature, including bratwurst.
Well, I stopped by Vons and picked up some Johnsonville brats on my way to my mother's in Alpine since they told me we would be grilling burgers and hot dogs that night. I got the smoked beef stadium kind. I tried one of each and it was like a whole new world of flavor to me. Johnsonville brats were amazing. They were not too tangy. They were loaded with great taste. I used a little deli mustard on mine, and each kind was different but awesome in its own way. Thanks for the recommendation. They were a huge hit. P1 Talon. How about that? Changing people's lives, Johnsonville Bratzes. That's true. I actually, they changed my life a little bit this weekend. Well, this weekend, I went to Vons. You know, I'm a Vons Club Card member, a very exclusive club. I'm excited about that. Yep, and I went there, and on the list, the Bunny Boo had put hot dogs on the shopping list. Bunny Boo. Yeah, and I'm in the section, and then I was like, oh, those are those Johnsonville brats that Eddie always talks about. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was like, oh, give them a little let's see. So I put some in the cart, and they're now sitting in my fridge, and we will cook them up in the near future. Grill them up tonight.
They are the best. You're going to freak. That is awesome. That makes me very happy. We'll see. I'll let you know. Please do. And if you don't know what to make for dinner tonight, make sure you go to wherever you shop. Go to that fresh meat section and pick up a package of Johnsonville brats. All right, we're over to Ashley. Ashley, what are you going to do? Are you going to go... My eyes are watering. Oh, no. That one's really throughout. I don't know why. He's allergic to the acorn tree. That's right. You're allergic to it. Her eyes are watering right now, folks. I don't know. Can you fix yourself? Every time I'm getting worked up this morning, like really try to think hard, my eyes start watering.
Do my eyes. Her sweat is overflowing. Okay, all right. She's finally up there. You're ridiculous. That was unnecessary. The Mikey Show continues. Welcome back. It's 9-18. A three-year-old girl had to be hospitalized over the weekend after she drank from a bottle that contained the date rape drug. The Yankees-Red Sox rivalry turns deadly as a Yankee fan kills. a Red Sox fan with her car. Welcome back, folks. Thank you very much for joining us. Let's see. Eddie was explaining the playoffs earlier, the NBA playoffs. These teams are, we're down to how many, Eddie? Like eight or something? I believe so, yeah. And who do we got? Yes, eight. We got the Lakers in Utah going at it. New Orleans is up 2-0 over San Antonio. Detroit's up 2-0 over Orlando. And I think another team is playing.
Well, I know LeBron James is still in it, so that means Cleveland. Correct. Another team? Another team? Another team? I think the Celtics. That's right. That's who it was. Exactly. That's who it was. Nope. Nope. A couple of mountain lions spotted in Escondido. Rawr. Where? Yeah, watch your back. A couple of 40-year-old ladies, a couple of cougars. They're on the prowl lookout, guys. That's right. All 24-year-old men are being warned. near Kit Carson Park in Escondido. And actually, this is the sixth time in, you know, a handful of months that there's been sightings of mountain lions over there. So, of course, you know, they've posted signs in the area and, you know, are warning people, hey, if you do come into contact with them, you know, here are the things you should do. Dash. Oh, no, no, no. I IM'd you. Oh. Sorry. Dash. What are you supposed to do if you see him?
Scream. That was great. No, they say don't walk alone, carry a walking stick. Oh, I always carry a walking stick. It's going to be like that, huh? Well, I mean, we all do. Make noise. We all carry a walking stick. Keep children within arm's reach. You were going to spend money on a stick? No, dude, I mean, you just go to a walking stick. No, you go to a walking stick mart. Walking Stick Town has them on sale this weekend. They're doing like a blowout sale at Walking Stickville. It's a thing. Never turn your back to it. Never run. Yeah. Never loan it money. Never loan a mountain lion money. Make yourself look real big. That's right. Real sweet. Make yourself look real sweet. Yeah, dude. Make yourself fresh. Yeah. With mountain lions, you're supposed to look real sweet. Put on something from Milan. That's right. You're supposed to be like, hey, dude. Why don't you get the hell out of here, all right? I do. We don't like you counting around here. I don't like mountain lions. I'm mountain lionist. You all right, Scott? What's up? She just had a little sneezy problem. Oh, what happened? Robert Downey Jr. on making a blockbuster movie over an Oscar-nominated movie on The Tonight Show. Cut nine. Which is cooler, an Oscar nomination or a big blockbuster like this? I guess with an Oscar nomination, you know. But with a blockbuster...
Everybody. Because you can feel it in the room. People stood up. You got a standing ovation. It's pretty cool. Yeah, the nomination is kind of like, that's very exciting, prestigious. And this is like, just for a second, you're God. Yeah. So how did you celebrate? By worshipping a false idol. I took an Iron Man statue. It's disgusting, and I have to be careful. And I love making movies. I'm glad people enjoy the movie. And that said, you know, I probably better start getting right back on my humility program. He's crazy talented. Talk about changing your life, though, man. That guy was at the bottom. Look at him now. He's awesome. He's a good actor. He's a real good actor. So the big news yesterday was Marvel Studios announced Iron Man 2, which will be out April of 2010. And they also announced a handful of other movies that the geeks will love. Talk about it. Why are you going to say the geeks? I'm sorry, the comic book geeks. Yes, this guy now being more clear. Nerds. It was a good movie. The Iron Man was. You liked Spider-Man. Yeah, that was a good one too.
So hopefully these ones will be good. Let me have you announce them here in just a second. First, Jon Favreau on Marvel and the way that they were when he was making this movie. Jon Favreau, if you didn't know, he directed Iron Man. Crazy. So crazy. Cut 28. Marvel is a very small operation. A couple guys, they're on the set. So I have partners and not people handing down dictums to me. And it felt like a really big indie. And I had more creative freedom on this than I've ever had. They just said, get the action right. We've got to get enough action that this is a Marvel movie and we don't let people down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like Marvel. He sounds like an interesting guy. Yeah. So, Sky, what else? Okay, so Iron Man 2, April 30th, 2010. Then they will be releasing Thor, June 4th, 2010. Thor was a big guy. Oh, yeah. He's like 10 feet tall. Well, no, he's not. What's up? Carried a big hammer. That's true. Carried a hammer. Yeah. And then the first Avenger, Captain America for May 6, 2011. Okay, wait. So it's not the Avengers. They're saying the first Avenger, dot, dot, colon, Captain America. Exactly. Backslash. May 2011. Awesome. That's going to be a break. Who's going to be Captain America? Captain America, Christian Bale. No, he's already Batman. All right. Then he will be played by? He's blonde. In a surprise move? Yeah.
Lead singer of Franz Ferdinand. The strangest thing ever. Why can't you be real? What if that was him, though? What if they said, that guy encapsulates everything we want? Sean, I can't. I can't. The actor will be? Come on, you're good at casting. Okay. But you're not going to see him. What's up, Mike? You're going to see him in a suit. You can see most of his face. All right, then it will be Shia LaBeouf. No, he's tiny. Too young, too small. That's a good pick. Robert Stevens. Oh, wow. Too cut. Way too cut. Way too muscular. Gary Schoenwetter. Too bald. Too bald. And then two months after they release the first Avenger, they will be releasing The Avengers. Come on, this is too much. July 2011. I can't handle that. I know who can play Captain America. Two months after that, yeah. Has to be a powerful actor. Yeah, for sure.
James Gandolfini. He's not as cut. It has to be one of those guys. It's got to be one of those tough guys. What about the guy that plays Pauly? Walnuts. Stop it. You're ruining this. Yeah, dude. Joe Pesci. Yeah, I don't want to mess with that guy. I'm out on this whole thing. Oh, no, dude. Finally, they announced that they will be releasing Ant-Man. Come on. That's mean. You don't have to make fun of the comic book fans by saying fake movie is coming out. There's an Ant-Man. Oh, yeah. That's menacing. Nerd Man is coming out in December. Let's bring Claudine in here. Bring Claudine in. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's going to tell us about the blood drive. I want to know about the blood drive. She comes in every year. She talks to us about the blood drive that's going on. Is she bringing a duck this year? Oh, I hope so. She brought in a duck last year. Yeah, that was cool. She brought in a duck. Hey, Claudine. I didn't bring the duck. No duck. I love the duck. What happened to the duck? Oh, I thought the duck scared you. It was cute. It was creepy.
So Claudine, what's going on? Claudine comes in and tells us all. We've known Claudine forever. A trillion years. I think it's been like 12 years or something like that. I was thinking about it the other day because I started working for KIOZ. KIOZ. KIOZ. KIOZ. I started working for KIOZ August of 1995. Wow. That's a long time ago. Oh my gosh. And that's when I met Claudine. I remember. She worked in the promotion department for. Q106, right? Q106. Wow. That's right. That's how far back that was. It was awesome, though. And now you're working for? The San Diego Blood Bank. The San Diego Blood Bank. And so what's going on with them? Well, you know, my end of things is I do all the fundraising events because the Blood Bank actually needs money as much as they need blood because, you know, we're a nonprofit. We've got to pay for all of our stuff. So the latest fundraiser that we have is called Barona's Million Dollar Quacker Dash. Quackers. It's the doctor. I love it. It's the duck. And basically, you go to our website or up to Barona or any of our donor centers, and you get this little entry form. And essentially, you're like adopting a duck for five bucks. Exactly. And each duck has a number at the bottom of it. And next Wednesday, we're going to toss them into this big old attraction at the Wave Water Park, and they do this little race. And then if one of the first four ducks across the finish line matches a pre-chosen number...
You could win a million bucks. A million? A million dollars. This is not to be confused with the thing that Skye's mom does, which is the Kentucky Derby. Two totally different things. But we also have other prizes, too. Like, first place, after the million dollars, free gas for a year. Which is a million dollars. Which might as well be a million dollars. More. Yeah, Disney World vacation. You get the airfare, the tickets, hotel. And then third place is a Barona Valley Ranch getaway package. And they hook you up for the whole weekend, like two nights up there, which actually if you've never been, it's pretty hot. And steakhouse and golf and the whole bit. That's cool. Yeah, yeah. That's cool. It is May 14th, so you still have a couple days to buy your entries. Where do you get them? How do you get them? SanDiegoBlindBank.org. Sweet. Or you can go to any donor center. We have five around the county. Or you can go up to Barona Casino. That's cool. Yeah. I would like to win that. Well, you're eligible. Would you like an entry? I still can. Yeah. Like, even though I promoted it on the radio, I could still get in. I want to. Yeah, the only people not eligible are anybody, like, affiliated with the blood bank. Right. So, you're good. Nice. I want to win all those prizes. Great cause. I appreciate you guys letting me pimp my stuff. I didn't bring the big duck. Now I feel bad. I should have brought the duck. I missed it. You should feel bad. My favorite part. How do you get that duck in a car? How do you do that? It's a costume. It's a big duck. How do you do that?
Wait a minute, you're saying that? No, no. I thought that was a duck. I've actually worn that thing a couple times. Have you really? That's my new career now. I've left radio and aspired to greatness to wear mascot uniforms, all in the name of charity. Very nice. Very nice. Yeah, Claudine's a friend of ours. We've known her forever, and she comes in and tells us all about this every year, and they're doing it again, and so everybody should support it. Website one more time, Claudine. SanDiegoBloodBank.org. Very nice. How are we with time, Eddie? Are we good? You can take a break. All right. When we come back, don't go anywhere, because when we come back, I'm going to tell you where Metallica will be playing on the West Coast. And it's in a couple of weeks, right, Skye? Yep. Just a couple of weeks. And it's, as far as I know, the only date that we have. So we'll tell you that when we come back. Don't go away. Six days a week. You guys are awesome. Appreciate it, bro. Thank you. I'm a P1 because of my girlfriend, Lynn, who turned me on the station. Now we got you guys on every morning and stuff like that. Home of the P1s and stuff like that. Rock.

Yo, what's up, man? You feel that the Wesley Snipes verdict was driven by racism. Right, how you been offending this man for three years and then all these other young white girls, they be running over people. Who ran over people? Who ran over people? Wait, I don't know. Do you think that they would have given Britney Spears... three years in prison because she accidentally... What do you think, Mike? Eddie, why are you talking like that? Why are you saying that? That's my boy, Doug. What's up, Doug? Oh, no. Yeah. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. I just want to welcome all you fans here at the sports arena tonight. Well, the girls have a say. You all right? That's right. I want to welcome everyone here to TRL. TRL. You know, you young kids, you're a bunch of punks. But I love you. It's not enduring. Neil Diamond loves teenagers and people in their 20s, women in their 30s, people in their 40s. Let me tell you something. On the bus ride over here to TRL today, I was just telling my manager I hate teenagers. Wait.
I think all of them should go to hell. But I'll tell you what, Neil Diamond loves money. And that's why I'm here to sing this one for you. All you punk teenagers and black kids, I want you to sing along. I want you to know one time I killed a guy in Reno just to watch him die. Sing along with me, you bunch of teenager. Bunch of homosexual drug users. Let's do this. What the hell? Hold the plug. She got the way you use me, Jerry. Come on now, kids. Sing this along. All you kids snipping airplane glue and spray paint and all that. I want you all to know that I once had a teenage son. I sent him to the military. You know why? Why? Drug user. Like all you kids here on TRL today. You want to know something? I think that Carson Daly is gay. He was on this show once, wasn't he? Yeah. All you kids using drugs and filthy mouths. All right. All you kids, all you teenagers, right? What do you do? You have sex without the protection, right? No. And you think that's so funny? Is that the deal? No. You think it's hysterical? Neil Diamond. You think it's funny? Well, it isn't funny at all, all right? You've said your piece. The only person allowed to do that is Neil Diamond. Okay. She got in the way.
Use metal. Can you stop vomiting, please? Sorry, I was drinking bourbon on the way out. Yeah, but it's all blunt. Ridiculous. Okay. Good morning. Yeah. TRL stands for too real, lady. I can't stand you. Okay. You are bitter. I've invented unprotected sex. You did? Yes, I did. 1964. El Paso Coliseum. They don't have a coliseum. I meant the arena. Whatever it is. I'll cut my face just for kicks. Ashley didn't get one of those jokes. She's like, well, first of all, who's Neil Diamond? Look at her. She's like mad. Are you okay? I'm fine. I don't know Neil. Are you okay? Do I have to laugh at everything? Oh, my God. Oh, no. What happened? What happened?
See, that's why I hate teenagers. That 15-year-old in there. She's actually 42. She looks 15. She's not 42. How old are you, little girl? That's right. I'm talking to you, blondie. I'm sorry. Your humor is not funny to young people, Neil. You should stop. Unless you want... I mean, if your demographic is like my grandma, I'm sure she's howling right now, but I'm cool off your jokes. Oh, man. I think I'm going to go in there and put her over my knee. She might like that, Neal. You don't want to do that. Of course she would. That's because she's a raving prostitute like all you teenagers are. All you teenagers are busted prostitutes and pimps and coke addicts. Now, let me play one here for you, all right? Another one? That's right. Okay, here we go. nips and prostitutes and hookers, which is what all you teenagers are, all right? You just played this song. Just stand you people. There's my manager. I just played that one, dummy. Yeah, play a different one. Give me a different song. You play your new single. I'm Neil Diamond. What is it called? Hey, hang on. Let me get my... Artie. Yeah. What's my new single called? Well, you've got that new one that's... I don't know what it's called, though. I forgot the name of it. Anybody know the name of my new single? All right, let me do this one.
I'm Neil Diamond. I'm going to sing to you a little bit about being a teenager now. If you don't mind. It's a song I wrote back in 1975 about hating teenagers. Love on the rocks. And hate you teenage kids. I'll pour you a drink and I'll sell you some drugs. You're teasing them. It's the way the song goes originally. It's originally the way it was written. I don't believe that. We had to change it for ABC when I appeared on Johnny Carson's show. Well, Johnny's been on NBC. He wasn't on ABC.
I hope all you teenage kids bleed out your eyes and ears. Why are you saying things like that? Because I'm on TRL and I know that the kids, they like that shock talk. Before I came on TRL, Carson Daly pulled me aside and he said, listen, if you're going to... He hasn't been on the show in years. He said to me, if you're going to relate to the kids, Neil, you got to shock them. So here you go, kids. I can't stand you bunch of hookers. That's rude. And I hope you bleed out your eyes and ears. No more. You razor blades and smoke the razor blades. Hope you give yourself bruises. Punching yourself in the... Is that... Artie, are we done here? Can we leave? Or what? Can we leave? I hate changing the words of my songs. But I have to do it to sell the records to the kids. You got to leave. Just spank your head. What? Spank your head.
Kids are cutting your thighs. I hate you. Love on the rocks. Go catch your leprosy. You're all a bunch of filthy kids and I hate you. Will Ashley smile one time, please? I just want to hate you. Just give me a smile, Ash. I'm trying it. That's the spirit, kid. That's all I'm looking for out of you, all right? Now let me sing this last line for Ashley. And win! Is anybody even listening in TRL land today? TRL land? Last week. I hated every one of them, including that fat kid. There is no fat kid. I was thinking of last season. No, maybe I was thinking of... Chris Sly? Yeah, Chris Sly. Chris Sly, I hate you too. Okay.
That's Neil Diamond. You're out of control. This guy's nuts. Well, I don't know if you heard about it, but apparently Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have confirmed that they're engaged to be married. Can you believe that? No. So that means that Ryan Reynolds has now been engaged to Alanis Morissette and Scarlett Johansson. That's true. The two most opposite people on the planet. I know. I do. I just have eyes. Maybe opposite looking, but maybe they're very similar in personality. I thought that they were both real good looking. I thought Ryan Reynolds was a real good looking guy. No, he means Alanis and Scarlett. Oh, I got you. Different looking. I got you. Yeah, well, we talked to Ryan Reynolds about it, and I don't know how they met. I don't know either one of them. How did he meet Scarlett Johansson? Were they in a movie together? I don't know. Just all of a sudden they popped up as a couple, and they were going everywhere together, and now they're engaged. Rashard?
Mendenhall. First round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Guy just got robbed at gunpoint. How did that happen? I guess he was walking down the riverfront in Chicago with a friend and some dude just rolled up on him. Give me all your money, sucker. Whoa. Give me what you got, fool. And he did it. So you're telling me, wait a minute, you're telling me Mr. T robbed Richard Mendenhall. Don't give me no jibba jabba. Give me your money. Sucka. Give me your money, fool. Give me your money, fool. Wow. A bunch of states are getting involved in this gas tax holiday. What is that? Let's now go to Old St. Toot. Toot. Gassy Claus. Gassy Claus. It does not like to be called that. Ladies and gentlemen, now reporting live on the gas tax holiday, Old St. Toot. Take it away, Toot. Skye hates it when we refer to her as Old St. Toot. That's you. Anything to do with gas, we go to Old Poopy Claws. My name is Skye. Take it away, Old St. Toot. Remember, Eddie's doing the eyebrows. Go ahead. She will not respond to that. And you know that. No, she will not. She will not respond to that name. Any of those names, actually. All right. Let's go to Gassy Claws. No, Mike. Heart Kringle.
Kringle, you're ridiculous. The boogie toot. Come on. No, Eddie don't. Eddie don't. No, Eddie do. Eddie don't, you know it. Jolly old saint. Or Jolly old saint fart. No. She likes that. She does not. Skye, what can you tell us about the gas tax holiday? Well, basically, there is a state gas tax, and there's also a federal gas tax. So when you buy, you know, gas, you're paying this tax. You're paying two taxes, you know, one to the state and one to the federal government. Did she just say toot taxes? She said toot taxes. She said toot taxes. When you hear farts around the ceiling, you know that old St. Toot is near. I don't think that's the little toots on the ceiling. The little pitter-patter of toots. We're adults here. That's enough fart talk.
We're trying to talk about gas. Oh, for goodness. So, anyway. Hello? I can't hear. Hello? Hello? Can you hear me now? Oh, that's Daniel Plainview. Yes, can you hear me? Hello, Daniel Plainview. Yes, Daniel Plainview calling. This is my son, H.W. Oh, your son, H.W. is with you? Yes, he is. How's he doing? Is he doing better? He's wonderful. We just got back from Taco Bell. Oh, really? What'd you get? HW got a chalupa. What'd you get? I got a bean and cheese. I've got the special. It's got extra sour cream in there. It gives me the toots. I am lactose intolerant. What are you doing? I get it though because it tastes so good. You should have just got a side of rice. Never mind, Daniel. What does that mean? I don't understand. Shut it, Sky Daniel. I don't understand what you mean. Anyway, I heard you talk. Well, you're talking about gas. Yes. You explain to me, Daniel Plainview, why it is that you're talking about gas. Is it because you've got the toots? Well, no, we're talking about... Gasoline. Gasoline, you know. You know, oil and gasoline, you know, powers our cars.
I just heard the new Beyonce song. What? Have you heard the new Beyonce song? Which one? I can't remember. To the left one? No, no, no. It's not that one. The one with Timberlake? I can't remember. Maybe I'm thinking of Usher. I was listening to C90 on the way in. Yeah, Beyonce has a remix with Usher called Love in this Club. That's the one I was thinking of. You see, I was dancing to that just the other night. That's the dance. Oh, really? I was down at Stingery. Daniel claimed you. You're at Stingery. Wow, you're cool. Yes, I was. And I was wearing my suspenders, and they weren't going to let me in at first until I showed them. I said, you see, the executive of my estate is my son, H.W. He'll vouch for me. So we got into Stingery, and I was there in the back. I'm so... When all of a sudden, I saw a beautiful woman walk in, and I said to her, Excuse me, young miss, but do you have any oil available to you now? She said, what do you mean by this? And I said, well, if you live in Escondido, I'll come down there later today. Escondido. Take a look at your property and then perhaps buy it from you. She didn't understand what I was saying. None of us do. So my son took a purple hooter and threw it in the face. A hooter? Oh, wow. We got kicked out of Stingery. Is that what H.W. drinks, purple hooter? He's a kid. Yes. What does that have to do with Beyonce? He doesn't drink them.

We are KI... I didn't say it! You didn't hear it yet, guy. KIOZ San Diego. Yes. Thank you very much. I had to say. Oh, that's it? That's all you got? That's all I had. Okay. I can also tell you, because this is a pretty interesting story, that Saddam Hussein, while he was in prison, was afraid of getting AIDS, and he journaled about it. He said he was afraid of it because the prison guards were young, and so he just assumed that they had all kinds of VD.
Yeah, I guess what happened is some of the prison guards were using what they refer to as his laundry line, Saddam's laundry line. I can relate to that. Dry their clothes. And in Saddam's journal entry, he said, quote, I explained to them that they're young and that they could have young people's diseases. My main concern was to not catch a venereal disease. That's my main concern, too. I figure all those young kids, they've all got lice and VD. And HIV disease in this place. Yes, this is Saddam Hussein, your American pig. I just figured every teenager's got, like, needles in his pockets. Needles. Measles, too. What? Measles. Saw some snot-nosed kid the other day. I figured he had chicken pox in those pockets. Okay. Measles, chicken pox, rubella, the whole thing. Rubella? Okay. Every teenager should be bathed in bleach. Wow. That's a little extreme. They're all dirty. So you guys know those bombs that they had at the...
The one this weekend? Yeah, yeah, yeah. The FBI found? Yeah. So, if you didn't hear, over the weekend, a bomb exploded outside the federal- And he said it was the bomb. It was the bomb! Inside the federal courthouse downtown early. Is that how the FBI spokesman, like, gave them- Yes. He's like, we found a bomb! Also, a bomb found April 25th at the Federal Express facility in San Diego, and the FBI announced yesterday that the two bombs were similar. Now they say, you know, let's not jump to conclusions, but the two bombs were similar. And it was very lucky when that bomb went off outside the downtown federal courthouse because it was one of those bombs that, like, has all the nails in it. So when it explodes, nails go, like, shooting out everywhere. And they said that they found, like... projectiles, you know, nails and stuff, several blocks away. Nobody got hurt, right? No, luckily. But if it was like during a busy time of day and, you know, nails go shooting for blocks, yeah, that's really bad. It's terrible. Wow. Cut 32. It was designed to send shrapnel, specifically a large quantity of nails, out into the general area. There's a very good chance someone could have been very seriously injured or even killed. Hmm.
Oh, man. You know, I wish they could find who did it, but when they blow up every bit of evidence, right? No, not necessarily. How can you get fingerprints off something that blows up? Columbo will know. That's right. Not Columbo. I mean, you know. Banachek. Quincy would figure it out. One of those. One of those guys would be able to do it. Matlock. Beretta. Mannix. Oh, see. We got him. Couldn't help himself. Well, what do you expect me to do? I love those shows. Ow. McLeod. What the heck? McLeod. Yeah, McLeod. Is that a real thing? McGruber. Yes. McGruber. Hey, here's President Bush on Good Morning America, cut 18. So what have you done to make it special there? I know it's always special, the ranch, but for this wedding. Well, one thing we did, I let Laura, she's been in charge, but my one contribution is to, we put a giant cross made out of Texas limestone that will serve as the altar, but also serve as a landmark on our place for years to come. That's beautiful. So it's right there, that's where the altar. That's where she's going to get married, right in front of this Texas limestone altar with a cross on it.
By our lake. That and I was able to book Casey and the Sunshine Band to play. That is impressive, President Bush. You couldn't get Cisco? Is that why you did that? I tried, but he's busy. It's going to go off. Wow. President Bush, who taught you that? It's going to go off. I'm down, dude. No, no, no. Somebody... You have like a, one of these. You do. You have someone that's telling you what to say when you come on our show. Nah, I didn't like that. Yeah, you are, see? See, you've never said nah. You've never said nah. Why are you bugging? That sounds weird. You're stupid, bro. That's, yeah, you can tell. It's cool, it's cool. Anyway. Are you trying to appeal to younger voters? You're not even going to be in an election. I know.
Why are you trying to appeal to younger voters? You're not even... Why's you got to come at me like that? Why's I got to come at you like that? Stop it. Anyway, hit me up on my cellie. I'll talk to you guys later. Peace. Great. That's President Bush, ladies and gentlemen. Wow, he is thug. He's trying to beat... Mikey Show, hello. W. Bush, and I'm tired of everybody making fun of me. It's not funny anymore. Let's hear your Bush impressions. 5701053. That one was, I'll give that one a F+. F+. You were being generous. I mean, it was between an F and an F+. Yeah, you rounded up. But I went with F+, because he had his radio turned down. That's a good point. Good P1. Let's see. Barbara Walters. Barbara. Was talking about the affair that she had with the senator. Obama. No, no, no. It was not with Senator Obama. No. Cut 17. But in writing about it, did you, like, did it stir up any feelings again? The reason that I wrote about it was not because it, oh my goodness, aren't you going to be surprised. But it was at a particular period when, had it come out, and it was just when I was leaving NBC for ABC.
The times have changed so it would have ruined my career and his. And there's more to the story about it, which I'm not going to tell us in a couple of days. But I felt I mean, this book is very personal. It's personal about my sister. It's personal about my daughter. It's personal and everything. And I thought if I'm going to tell the story, I'm going to tell the whole story. You know, this is very personal for me. So she's going to tell she's going to tell the story. But she's not going to give the whole story because it would like... Because that would be wrong. That would be wrong? I don't know. I mean, seriously, what is the deal? I don't understand. That's that dude Whoopi. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Seriously. What does Whoopi Goldberg think? I don't know, baby. Is that Mr. T or Whoopi? It's like, I don't know. It's like, I don't know. She's still got on those John Lennon sunglasses. That's great. It's very feminine.
Let's see. This is Barack Obama on the Today Show distancing himself once again from the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Cut 19. What did he say that was different from what he's been saying all along that caused you to finally say enough is enough? That's a great question. Well, I think what it is, Tim, is... Wow! Talk about it. He asked mind-blowing questions. Love it. So another, see, I'm confused, Reverend Wright. I'm confused. You see, I don't understand. You know, Reverend Wright made these really outrageous comments. And when he did, you didn't distance yourself from him. But then the heat started to get really, really, it started to get hotter and hotter. And then you distanced yourself from him. So what did he say that finally made you say, I got to distance myself from him? Let's hear the whole clip again. What did he say that was different from what he's been saying all along that caused you to finally say enough is enough? Wow. Well, I think what it is, Tim, is no person is defined by a few snippets taken over the course of.
a number of years. And so I wanted to give him a chance to explain and provide a context for what he had said and perhaps recognize that he had offended the American people. And he chose instead to amplify and become even more divisive in front of a public audience with a major platform. And that indicated to me that he wasn't maybe the person I thought he was. I thought it was very important to make sure that people were absolutely clear that those weren't the things I stood for. I'm Brian Gumbel. I am here with Barack Obama. Mr. Obama, you were quoted in your book as saying, Billie Jean is not my lover. She's just a girl who thinks that I am the one. You said that in your second book. Why? I'm sorry. I'm reading from the back cover of a Michael Jackson album. You're bad. Lyrics to that. I'm sorry. Mr. Obama, you were once quoted as saying, I'm growing hungry. I'm growing hungry. I'm sorry. This is a Temple of the Dog album. That's weird. How can you keep me confused? Get your papers right. Mr. Obama, you were once quoted as saying, no, I don't have any notes at all. There's nothing written on this. That's terrible. This is really embarrassing. Forget it. You guys want to hear Jimmy Kimmel on The Late Show with David Letterman and then call it a day because we're out of material, obviously.
This is true. Last weekend, my daughter is going to art school, hopefully, art college, and she has to put together a portfolio. So I went to a life drawing class with her. Now, this is where someone comes in a robe and then they'll take off their clothing and stand there nude, which is an interesting position to be in with your teenage daughter. Now, did she invite you or did you invite yourself? I may have invited myself. I see. Yeah. She was uncomfortable. I was uncomfortable. But my way of dealing with my kids is to make them more uncomfortable than I am. And the models are rude, by the way, because after, you know, this woman, she was actually an attractive woman. I tried to give her a $20 bill at the end. Furious. Furious. Absolutely furious. Sky has new releases. What do you think about that? Hmm, I'm excited. This guy's got some new releases that are out today. Maybe we should just go. No, I think we should hear... We're out of material. Could you play that? We don't have to. Let's just take a minute. Come on, let's do it. Come on, let's do it. I say we do it. We do it. Let's do it. New video games out today. We have Boom Blocks for the Wii. Boom! Not to be confused with Boom Box. What is that? Yeah.
It's for the boo. Oh. And basically, it's a box. It just sits in it? Yeah, that's right. It's a boo box. That does not sound funny. Where is my boo? Oh, he's in the boo box. Okay. There you are. He's being bad, so get in the boo box. I don't think that's... You bad man. We have SNK Arcade Classic Volume 1, PS2, Speed Racer for the Wii, and the dog, Eileen. Over like Neil Diamond Dash. That's right, yeah. That was as funny as Neil Diamond was to Ashley. All right. That was not funny. New music out today. Who's Neil Diamond? We have Clay Aiken with his new one, On My Way Here. Sorry, Zeth just walked over and turned that off. He heard enough of it. It gets better. Singing that in her dress. All right, and one more time. On my way here. Zach is giving Eddie the look like, dude, I wasn't doing anything. Are you sure he's not got something else on his mind? Please stop.
Stop it. You're freaking me out. It's a tickle fight, I guess. Oh, my goodness. Also out today, we have the new one from Neil Diamond. Home Before Dark. You overcame my loss of old man. It's being played on a 78. Spinning at 78 revolutions per minute. Ladies and gentlemen, the new one from Neil Diamond. You overcame my loss of old man. Thank you, Neil. You have to really put your ear up to the big, giant opening. Let's turn it up, dear. Thank you. Also out today, Toby Keith with 35 biggest hits. Greatest hits.
bare naked. Do you have Toby Keith up here? Oh, I do. My bad. I'll put it up. All right. I really want to hear it. I bet you do. It's a good one, Mike. Hear it? I say America and you say Iraqica. What are you doing? That's my Toby Keith song. That's my Toby Keith song. Really good, Mike. Well said. That was really good. Clip up yet. Oh, Ashley. Come back to it. I don't know. I don't know. Texas. Come back to it. Must be Zeth's fault, right? Never heard of it. Why would it be Zeth? All right. Also out today, we have Barenaked Ladies with Snack Time. Dude, it's B&L. B&LK. One, two, three, four, more, make seven. I'll get six. Six is afraid of seven. He's minding his business. Talking to Tan about Gordie House clothes. Why seven, eight, nine? Nobody knows. Is that Tim and Eric awesome show? Great job. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, ten. It's a children's song. What about nine? Seven, eight, nine. Is that for real, Sky? For real, right? Yeah, yeah. That was real, right? Yeah, yeah.
There's a whole album. There's like 24 songs. It's Schoolhouse Rock. They're doing Schoolhouse Rock. Seriously, that's new Bare Naked Ladies. One, two, three, four, four, make seven. Six is afraid of seven. No way. And, you know, the album is called Snack Time, and the title track is all about people's snacks. And so it talks about that Lyle love it, loves watermelon, and Janine Garofalo eats microwave chocolate donuts. Stuff like that. That's one of my favorites. Yeah, so that's a good one. Wow. And then finally out today on CD, we have... I feel like any minute I'm going to wake up. I think I still have a concussion. We have the debut from everybody's favorite American Idol contestant, Chris Sly. It's called Running Back to You. It's a little Broadway, but... A little? Yes. Okay, so it's a lot Broadway. If I were producing that, I'd say let's do it again, but...
This time, don't enunciate so much. Oh, we have the Toby Keith song now. Oh, thank goodness. I say America and you say Iraqica. I mean, really? Hey, mister. Hey, mister. I kissed her. A little something to song in for real. Don't put jokes in. Don't put clips from Tim and Eric. Awesome job. This is, you're telling me this is real? One, two, three, four, more, make seven. It's a batch today, huh? Tell us, yes. She got a hot body and little Miss Naughty. Where's that cowboy hat? What was that song called? I say America, you say Rakika. Seven, eight, nine. Is she kidding? And the music industry is having trouble? Yeah, what's the problem? That is weird. What's the problem? I don't need it.
Metallica's in Tucson. So, well, figure that one out. That's great. Metallica, two shows, Tucson and Tennessee. Oh, my God. And here's the soundtrack. One, two, three, four, four, six is afraid of seven. Yeah, we never did say where Metallica was going to be playing the K-Rock Weenie Roast. May 17th at a Verizon Wireless Amphitheater up in Irvine. It's going to be a pretty big show. Okay, new DVDs. Go ahead. Oh, thank goodness. P.S. I Love You out today with Hilary Swank. Oh, I heard that was so good. I gotta see that. Yeah. We have First Sunday out today, Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan. Anybody? No.
Over her dead body, Eva Longoria Parker. Boo. Didn't that just come out in theaters a week ago? That's what I thought too when I saw it. And then we have I'm Not There, which is that Bob Dylan movie that has all the different actors. Oh, the different people playing Bob Dylan. Yeah, like Cate Blanchett plays Bob Dylan in it for five minutes. Great. TV shows to DVD. Hey, Bowman, why don't you play them, all right? Nah, dude. TV shows to DVD. We have Crossing Jordan Season 1. Bewitched, the complete sixth season. Be Rizzle, the complete fourth season. I made it four seasons? Yeah. Going on five. And then finally, the 4400, the complete fourth season. Nice. Great show. You still watch that show? Well, I think they canceled it, but I think last season was the last season. But it was a great show. 570-1053 is the phone number. Call us right now. Beginning and end of every show, we do open phone segments. You can call in about anything you'd like. Very nice. 570-1053. And we'll take your phone calls. Did I miss anything today? 7-8-1-2-3-4.
It's going to be a one-hit all day. No! No! Six is afraid of seven. Because seven ain't nine. Because seven, eight, nine, like ate him, like inhaled him. Oh, my. Oh, my. Four o'clock this afternoon, she's going to think the Neil Diamond stuff's hilarious. I was, like, so confused loading it. I'm, like, nine. Huh? Mikey Show, hello. Hello? Hey, I was wondering, how do I get a hold of one of those P1 stickers before Saturday? Well, before Saturday, you can't get a hold of them. Maybe he's confused on how it works. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're giving them away on Saturday for the first time. Oh, okay. I thought I had to get them before Saturday to be eligible for all the giveaways and stuff. No, no, no. You come out there, you get the stuff, and then you... Who did you have called? You were confused. Oh, that was my girlfriend. I was calling on my cell phone. She was calling on hers just so we could try to get through. Oh, I got you. I got you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's the way you do it.
Okay. It's like a drive-thru, bro. Yeah, it's like a drive-thru. Yeah, bro. Come through, we stick a sticker on your car, you get an envelope, and you could win stuff. Okay, and what time does that all start? 10 a.m. 10 a.m., all right, I'll be there. 10 to 1. We'll see you there. Thank you, brother. 7, 8, 9. No! Stop, dude! Mikey Show, yes, go ahead. Yes, go ahead. Had to hit the button on that guy. Yeah, that guy. Wow. That just isn't going to fly. No. Oh, come on. Sean. Sean. I love that guy. No, Sean. Yeah, FCC doesn't like that. Well, they're dumb. Why is Ashley not in a good mood? I want to do something to cheer up.
We can wrap up the show. That would cheer me up. No, no, no. I would love that. Well, we are wrapping up the show, but I bet you I could cheer you up. Let's do Make Me Laugh. You guys remember Make Me Laugh? Oh, it's a great show. How long did they have on Make Me Laugh? I don't know. This guy's never heard of it? What? This guy, you never heard of Make Me Laugh? No, I don't know what you're talking about right now. Oh, that was the best, man. Make Me Laugh. Never heard of it. They would come out on stage and they had to make the judges laugh, and if they couldn't, then they were done. That was where the unknown comic came from. Oh, that'd be funny to watch. That was really good. It was good. They should bring it back. Oh, I'd like that. Sometimes they bomb, though. And that was funny. Am I confusing it with the gong show? Well, the unknown comic was on the gong show. Oh, yeah, yeah. What's that? Oh, gosh. I'm so confused. Gong show was great. You had to come out and entertain people in any way that you could. And if you sucked, they would gong you on a big gong. Brett Summers. Go ahead. Do you remember the two guys that came out in a giant pair of overalls? They were both in the overalls. Yes, I do. I do remember that. You should see if it's on YouTube. Dude, if they had Gong Show on DVD, I would absolutely buy every season. Every season? Every season available. How many seasons were there? It had to be like 145. Wow.
No, that show was on for a while. It's a really funny show. Never heard of it. Mikey's show. Hey, explain the whole deal with Sean in San Francisco. I've never found out why he lives up there. I can explain it. Let me explain. I'll explain it. His boyfriend lives there. You're a man. You swore. When we moved to San Diego, Sean... Well, first of all, we were in a much smaller studio. And Sean didn't want to move. And part of the reason that he didn't want to move is because he is a germaphobe. He didn't like the idea of being around people. You made me nervous. What can I say? So is he up there like all by himself? Yes. Yeah, he sits in a studio by himself. In fact, it's his office. He prefers it. We look at him through a camera. So him coming here this weekend is a big deal. Well, that's cool. I'll be there this weekend then. Nice. He'll be wearing a panda outfit. That's how you'll know it's going. Shut up, Eddie. Even better. Can I get pictures? Yeah, that's right. Yes, you can. And hug him. Sure you can. Yes, you can. Thank you. You get a picture of my foot in your face. Mikey shows. Hey, Mikey. Yes. I can make Ashley laugh. Go ahead. This is P1 Matt. Hi, Matt. Thank you.
Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Oh, man. I hit a guardrail when he kept playing that song. Oh, no. Oh, do you mean this song? No. Now that makes me laugh. Six is afraid of seven. What a concept. That made Sean laugh. I don't know which is funnier. I don't know which is funnier. I love it. Thank you very much. Lovely and talented Missy is up next, ladies and gentlemen. Today on the Nooner, she has the all-request lunch hour. So enjoy. We'll see you back here tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show is out. Late. Peace out of your mouth.
