Eddie narrowly avoided a parking-lot home-theater scam, while Boston Rob proved the cast right by mishandling his antibiotics and later created chaos when he temporarily took over as host. Tanya's nomination won Sergeant Christopher Kane, a Silver Star and Purple Heart recipient wounded in Fallujah, a Metallica concert and meet-and-greet. The crew debated whether American Idol was steering voters toward the two Davids and whether women should be allowed to compete with men in professional sports, with Skye and Ashley pushing back against Mikey and Eddie. Other standout stories involved a drunken Darth Vader attacking a Jedi church, callers describing dangerous fainting episodes, and San Diego coyotes targeting neighborhood dogs.
What happened, in order
The Parking-Lot Speaker Scam
Eddie describes two young men at Vons offering suspiciously packaged home-theater equipment, and a caller later confirms the familiar scam can leave buyers with cheap speakers after a cash trip to the ATM.
Rob Versus His Antibiotics
After everyone predicts Boston Rob is taking his medicine incorrectly, he admits skipping a dose, ignoring the sun warning and considering quitting the treatment altogether.
Dr. Wayne Introduces Zeth
Recurring caller Dr. Wayne awkwardly introduces Zeth as a sexy young man, claims a circus motorbike past and pitches a guys-only meeting about how to attract women.
American Idol Is Steering the Vote
Ashley argues that the judges unfairly pushed David Cook and David Archuleta toward the final while punishing Syesha Mercado for songs the producers had chosen.
A Fallujah Hero Meets Metallica
Tanya nominates her husband, Sergeant Christopher Kane, whose actions in Fallujah earned a Silver Star and Purple Heart, and the show surprises him with Metallica tickets and a meet-and-greet.
Darth Vader Attacks the Jedi Church
The hosts recount how a drunken man in a garbage-bag Darth Vader costume assaulted members of a British Jedi church with a crutch during their filmed lightsaber practice.
Why People Faint
A caller says her fainting condition, syncope, led to comas and serious head injuries before estrogen and iron treatment brought it under control.
Women in Men's Pro Sports
Mikey and Eddie insist women could not compete in the NFL or Major League Baseball, while Skye and Ashley challenge their assumptions with kickers, Jenny Finch and the principle of open tryouts.
Coyotes Come for the Dogs
A Lake San Marcos coyote grabs an elderly beagle by the neck, prompting tough talk from Skye and Ashley, callers' rescue stories and practical advice about clearing brush and supervising small pets.
Boston Rob Takes the Controls
Mikey screens calls while an anxious Boston Rob hosts, covers Ozzfest and James Frey, mutes Skye and fields listeners alternately praising and roasting his new show.
Bill O'Reilly Does It Live
The crew plays the leaked Inside Edition footage of Bill O'Reilly losing his temper over a confusing outro and shouting that he will do it live.

It is 6-0-7. Hillary Clinton killed it in the West Virginia primary yesterday, getting 67% of the vote. Sean Estes makes his first start in over two years and gets the win. Even drove in the go-ahead run as the Padres beat the Cubs 4-3 yesterday. That's a win. It is a win. Love to see that. Exciting. Welcome to the show. It's a Mikey show. And you can call us. 570-1053 is the number. And yeah, we'd love to hear from you. Really quickly, let's introduce seven people on the show. It's clearly the morning show with the most people in San Diego. In terms of radio in the United States, I don't know. Maybe there's a show with more than seven people. I don't know of it. I can't think of it. Do they really? Do Jeff and Jerry really have seven people? They have more. Come on. Really? Like on the air with them. Yeah.
Because we have seven on the air. I know they have a staff. I'm sure Howard Stern's got a huge staff off the air. Oh, yeah. But, okay, let's count. Jeff, Jer, Laura, Delaina, Randy, Emily, Tommy. That's seven. Did they have someone else? Pacey and Rick are gone. So they have the same amount? They had a guy named Pacey. But he's in San Francisco now, I think. They have the same amount? Yeah. We got to get another person. What about DSC? How many do they have? They don't have that many, do they? They have Chuko and Emily and then Dave Shelly and Chainsaw. And then Boyer and Bromo. Boyer and Bromo. Seven? We're not that cool. Dude, I thought we had a lot of people. Totally, totally average. We are so, like, exactly what's going on in town. Dang it.
Like, Jammin' Z90 show's got, like, 12 people, Mike. Definitely have more than, like, U.S. and 933. Yeah, yeah, yeah. U.S. U.S. It's now all new country or whatever it's called. Oh, is it? Yeah, they changed their name a couple months ago to help. What? Did they really do that? Yeah. What is it? It's new country. Have they changed anything else, like the music or anything? I don't know. I mean, they've changed all their, like, logos. Like, now everything is the young country stars, the Carrie Underwoods, and the, you know, so that's their focus now. Ratings. Best of luck. Yep. And there's two country stations in town. There used to be country stations all over the place because that was, like, a format that actually did really well for many years. In fact, during the 90s, that's what I remember. Oh, and it was always kind of a head scratcher. When you would look at the radio trade magazines, you would go, what's up with these country stations, man? How come they do so well all over the country? They just do really well. I don't know. Maybe they still do. I don't look anymore, but maybe they still do. Country as a format. I don't know what it's about. Is it not anymore, Sean? No, not really. Who wins now? Is there a big format right now, like a format of the day? I don't know one, no. Isn't it like top 40, though, is normally the big?
The big winners in most markets. I guess it just depends. Even that's like fractured. Oh, really? Let me introduce. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. And I am 37 and I have been doing radio. It's May, June, July, August. In three months, I will have been doing radio for like officially for 20 years. Dang. But if you count like the times. that I was actually doing my own radio program, but not for a company, like at the pirate radio station where I had my own show and I was in front of a microphone and I worked a board and I played actual LPs. Records. Records. Then it would be in July would be my 21st year in radio. Because I started when I was 17. So Zeth was two when you started doing radio. Zeth was two. Yeah.
It's nuts. Yuck. Can you believe that? Wow. Seth was about my son's age. Yes. Wow. The little baby in diapers. Yeah. Yeah. Wrong. Old. Old. Old. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy. He is 35 years old. He is in his mid-30s. And Eddie. Has a very short haircut. That's something that you can know, but I like it. I think it looks really good. I think he looks handsome. I hate it. Eddie had something pretty interesting happen to him yesterday. Dude, this was crazy. This was one of the weirder things that I don't know that's ever happened before. I went to Vons, pulled in, or actually I went in, got all my groceries, came out, got into my car, and this other car, truck actually,
Pulled up right beside me, gave me the international sign to roll down your window, which I think is outdated, by the way, because most people don't roll down their window. I wonder what would be the international sign for put your power window down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Eddie just did the sign for press button. So anyway, so I rolled down my window and it's these two younger dudes, you know, and they're in a truck. Like how old? In their early 20s. Yeah. And I thought they maybe knew me or something. Yeah. You know, because it was like they, I literally got in my truck and they pulled up like real quick. So you're thinking probably P1s. Yeah, I actually thought there was going to be P1s. Yeah. And because they had a big smile on his face. And I'm like, oh, okay, what's up? You know, and he goes, hey, man, do you want to buy an entire surround sound and like flat screen TV? Brand new. What? I go, what are you talking about? He goes, yeah, we work for this company and we placed this order and the order was all crazy and messed up. And my boss said, just go out and sell it. Sounds legitimate. That's interesting because as I'm looking in the back of your truck, it doesn't appear to be in any box. It's just wrapped up in black garbage bags. It was so weird. Did you see it? Yeah. Well, I mean, I could see. Was it in a box? Yeah, it was in a box.
So let's go through what probably happened. They, like, ripped it off from a store, storage? It's got to be something like that. Yeah, back of a truck, something. Back of a truck. Did they tell you the price, what they wanted for it? I didn't even go there. I didn't even go there because I was so badly wishing I had, like, a badge or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I was like, no thanks, fellas. The jig is up. And they real quickly, okay, okay. It was real shady, man. I was like, oh. That's crazy. That's crazy. Shady. I'm not buying stolen equipment. Just can't do it. No. You would think, too, that there would be some sort of a better. My boys used to do that up in LA. What would they do? How would they get the stuff? I don't remember the whole scheme, but they used to drive around in a van with a bunch of equipment. Yeah.
Now, was it new equipment in the box? It was new equipment, but it just wasn't legit. They would have receipts with them to prove to the consumer and say, here, look at the receipt. I could try to get them on the phone. Yeah, yeah, I want to know how that scam works. I mean, I say scam. It's not necessarily scamming you out of your money. It's just... Theft. Yeah. And then what do I do if the equipment doesn't work and I've already paid them $1,000 for all this stuff? Right, right, right. Screwed. Yeah, I'd be interested to see how much they wanted and what they were selling. It'd be just interesting to what they're... He said an entire surround sound equipment and everything and a flat screen TV. Did he say what brand? Yeah, it's just because that's so subjective. You know, you could get something for $99 surround sound. You'd get surround sound for $3,000. Very true. It just depends on what the thing is. Skye is our news girl. Hi. 30 years old. She's wearing a sweater. And she is our friend. We have a short week this week, by the way. Tomorrow will be it. And then we're taking Friday off. I'm getting baptized. Shawnee O'Big is our sound effects guy. He just saluted us. And he saluted us, though.
as if he were maybe the captain of the ABBA army. That was kind of what I got. Yeah, there you go. There you go. The clean-shaven ABBA army. Yes, the clean-shaven ABBA army. Okay. Inappropriate. Definitely inappropriate. Ashley is our assistant producer. She's 24 years old. She's got blonde hair, and she wears headphones. It's really great. Don't we all? She's a sweet girl. Boston Rob, 25 years of age, engaged to be married. He's a phone screener and a singer-songwriter and an antibiotic taker. True. That's what I can tell you about Rob. Chances that he's properly taking those antibiotics. No, come on. Come on, Eddie. That is a great point. Sky, what are the chances he is? I give it a 10% chance that he's taking those antibiotics correctly. I'll say a little higher. I'll say 12%. But, I mean, there's a 0% chance he will take them all the way through. I 100% agree with that. Yeah, yeah, there it is. Okay, now I want to see what I think. I'm all better. I'm all better. Yes, yes, absolutely. Okay, now.
When we say correctly, what we mean is that since he got them to this date right now, he has taken them exactly when? Like he says four times a day. He took them all four times a day or whatever. Now, can we throw this in there? Not only four times a day, but... You know, appropriately. Like, he didn't take four at once. So you believe he did that. Well, there's something goofy. He did something stupid. Like, he's like, oh, I forgot this morning and at lunch I'll take two right now. Like, it's a birth control pill. So you guys believe that shenanigans happen? Something like that. Okay, I'm going to... Rob, don't say anything yet because we're guessing. Okay, I'm trying to catch up, so keep going. All right. Okay. Chances that Rob has taken his antibiotics as prescribed, I will say... There is a 60... Oh, man. Okay, now let me say this. There's a 100% chance he's going to say he did it right. No, he'll be honest. But he thinks he did it right. But when we investigate, there's no chance. Okay. No way, Jose. Let me see. Look at him right now. No, I don't want him to give it away.
Okay. This is 100% chance. Oh, look at this guy. Look at this guy. Laugh it up. I'm factoring in. I'm factoring in the fact that his fiance is probably more responsible than him, probably been on him. Yeah, she is. Don't. I was just saying she's a responsible person. Don't influence my. This guy. Well, he influenced me. I'm going to say there's too much of him in him. 42% chance. Wow, that much, huh? Yeah, I was going to go higher, but then I just remembered his nature. I'm going to say 42% chance that he has taken his antibiotics as prescribed. Rob, what's the deal? Now by taking... Uh-oh. Why did I do it? Why did I do it? This guy, unbelievable. No, I skipped... I was supposed to take it twice a day. I skipped it last night because you're not supposed to lay down for a half hour after.
And by the time I remembered, I was going to sleep. So it has so many weird rules. I'm thinking about quitting it. I'm thinking about saying no to drugs. He's unbelievable. And yesterday when I took it, it gave me like a migraine. And you're supposed to like constantly be drinking water with it. So Rob can't afford water. So Rob thought to himself, well, I'm not supposed to lay down for half an hour. You know what would be a better option? Weighing the two. Yeah. The better option would be to not take the medication. I don't know. I was driving home, too, and the sun was coming in my window, and I'm like, is it really hot? I can't tell. Is my skin boiling? Did you have the window down or up? Down. And my arm was hanging out the window. Yeah. Eddie, why is he so dumb? They told him not to do that. Told him not to do it. Great question. Why? Why? Told him not to do it. I don't know. They told him. Fine, fine. I'll take the rest of the bottle today. Thank you. Wrong. I don't know who this could be. We'll get it out of the way. Hello? Is anyone there? Eddie line broken? Eddie line's broke. Great. It's not working. Eddie line. Stupid phone. All right. Well, then let's just go ahead and introduce it. Maybe it's a prank ball. Now it's going again. Who knows what it is. Are they just going to hang?
Let me find out what's up. Hello? Hey, guys. It's Dr. Wayne. Did you just call and hang up on us, Dr. Wayne? Yes, I did. Why did you do that? What's that? Why did you do that? I had to get my courage up. For what? What's going on? I was just, boy, did I say that out loud right now? Yeah, you did. You did. I just wanted to let everybody know my name is Dr. Wayne, and I am a chiropractor in the area and a professional masseuse. Professional? Yes, I am certified in deep tissue and Swedish massage. Okay. And trying to get my certification for hot rocks. What's that? Hot rocks is a technique used where you wrap hot rocks in sexy towels and lay them on the backs of the people. No, that's not. Do they have to be sexy? You better go to class. That's not. Anyway, the reason I was calling this morning is because I wanted to see. If, you know, since introducing is going on right now, you've got one person left. I thought I would introduce him. That is strange. That is weird. Well, we actually have a host for that, Dr. Wayne. I don't know. We don't need your help. I understand that. I just thought that, you know, maybe to switch things up today, you might think that it would be cool if I introduced Zeph. Okay, well, Dr. Wayne, we don't think that is cool. I actually do.
Yeah, to be honest, I wouldn't mind hearing that. You guys. I wouldn't mind. I'm kind of into it, too. You guys. I kind of want to see what he's got. One person there that definitely did, so just think one person there in the studio equals probably... Hundreds of millions listening in San Diego. Millions upon millions, Dr. Wayne. All right, well then, Dr. Wayne, go ahead. Well, you know, I'm not really sure what to do, but I've prepared a little. Here we go. So I've prepared something here. What is this? Hey, ladies and gentlemen. This is extreme. It is with a great deal of fun that I introduce you to the sexiest guy in the office, ladies and gentlemen. Nobody thinks that. Everybody thinks that he is the funniest, sexiest youngster around. He is 23, and he is, I'll tell you what, he is built like a German tank and is smart as a whip. That's what I wanted to let everybody know.
So without any further ado, ladies and gentlemen, Seth. This is really uncomfortable. That was so creepy. How are you doing, Seth? Good. No, that's cool. Hey, did you get the motorbike that I sent over there to you last week? A motorbike? I haven't gotten it yet. I'm actually stoked on that one. Yeah, do you know how to ride motorbikes? Yes, I do. All right, then I'll give you a lesson. Wait. I already know. Don't worry about it. I used to ride on the circuit, so. You were in the. Yeah, what circuit? Chinese circus. I was actually in a circus. I used to ride motorbikes in those big giant rings and thrill people, you know. I would go up and down and go in circles. Never heard of that.
Check. So, anyway, going to have a party over at the house this weekend, real rager keg party. Oh, you crazy man. Well, you know me, can't get enough of... Yeah, man stuff. Yeah, man stuff, you know, ladies and... So there's going to be some hot ladies there? Oh, well, you know, what we're going to do is we're having a meeting of the minds, figure out how to get more of them. I don't know what that is. Oh, yeah. So this one will be a guys only, and then what we'll do is we'll talk about how to get all the hot girls. Well, we can just invite them, dude. Are you kidding? I mean, I'm right here. Hello. You can't just go about it willy-nilly like that. We know a bunch of hot chicks. Because then when they get there, you don't know what to do. Well, we do know what to do. What are you talking about? Have a meeting of the minds where we would just get a bunch of guys together and talk about how to get the girls. So who wants in? Anybody? Anybody want to come to the Meeting of the Minds party? I think I see Zeth raising his hand. Oh, he's scratching his head. My bad. I'll get on one of my...
Literally thousands of electronic devices. And I'll send over the information. So I'll talk to you later. Wow. You are so manly. Dr. Wayne. Wow. That's so creepy. He is definitely manly. No. Opposite. Well, he sure says he is. He talks about all that stuff he's into. 570-1053 is our phone number. And you can give us a call at the beginning and end of every show. And hit us up with whatever you would like. Open phones. Holler at us. Yeah, holler at us. It's open phones. You can call about whatever you want. Let's see. Who watched American Idol? I did. Wow, everybody did. I did. Everybody did. I'm looking at a lot of hands being raised. Yep. Getting down to the nitty gritty mind. How many are left in American Idol? Final three. It'll be the final two after tonight. Yep. What'd they make them sing last night? It was the judges chose a song for them. They got to choose a song, and the producers of the show got to choose a song. Really? Yeah. Ashley says that her and her boyfriend were voting again last night. What? They watched it, and who did you vote for? Saisha. What up? Why? Yeah, why Saisha? She's not going to make it. Oh, oh.
How brutal was it? The judges were so hard on her, Mikey. It wasn't fair. It was not. And they made it very clear that the Davids should be the final two, which I think is crap. They're trying to influence America. They're trying to influence America, and I won't be influenced by anybody. So I voted, and I made my honey vote as well because he didn't really care, but I made him. And we both voted for Saisha three times each. Eddie, do you have a favorite? No. You don't care? No, I was rooting for Carly, the gal from San Diego, and once she got booted, like, all the rest of them, like, that David Cook is so douchey. Thank you. He does this, like, slow blink into the camera that just creeps me out, and I just hate it. It says here he sings Switchfoot, and I like them. That was his choice for a song, and I don't think he sang it very well. Cut 11. Now singing Dare You to Move. Here he is, David Cook. Is he playing guitar himself? Yes. Welcome to the place. Whoa. Welcome to the basement. No. Hello. That's a little. Thank you. If I were a judge, I would have said, I don't know, dog. I think maybe you over-sang that one.
Yeah, man, they're doing this thing now, you know, where Simon's always done it, who basically he tells you, you know, oh, I'll see you in the finals or you should pack your bags. Now Paula's even doing it. Yuck. And I'm like, Paula? I thought she was supposed to be the nicer. Yeah, and she actually told Saisha last night, like, I don't think that was good enough to go into the finals. Yeah. And she told the other ones, you know, yeah, I'll see you in the finals. It's all producer stuff, it sounds like. Brutal, man. It sounds like they got the notes in front of them. My favorite thing is they had the producers pick songs for them, and then the judges hated the songs. And I'm like, how does that make any sense? How can you hold that against them? You know, critique them on their scene, not the song choice, because it wasn't their choice. That's right. It's so weird, man. Yeah, except for when David Archuleta sang that Chris Brown song. That was his choice, and it was awkward. The worst. Hey, you're white, guy. Yeah. You just look in the mirror, figure it out. You can't do that. P1 Cliff, are you there? Yeah. Cliff, tell everybody what a P1 is. Someone who turns on the radio, doesn't cuss, and listens to the Mikey show exclusively. There you go. There you go. Very well done. So last night, coming back from the break on American Idol, did you see that kid that was smiling from ear to ear and looking at Ryan Seacrest? Mm-hmm.
That was probably one of the funniest things I've seen on TV. Yeah, my husband was laughing out loud. You noticed it, Eddie? Yeah, Seacrest is like in the crowd, and of course he has his arm around some young girl and whatever, and then standing right next to Seacrest with his face, like right over Seacrest's shoulder, is this kind of dorky, frizzy-haired guy going... Really excited. And like staring into the camera with this crazy psycho grin for probably like 60 seconds straight. Very excited. Yeah, that was pretty funny. Yeah, when the kids get excited, it's pretty funny. P1, Derek. Yes. Hey, you bought one of these things like Eddie saw yesterday at the Vons? I didn't, but my friend did about two weeks ago. Yeah. And like he came into work and he was talking about it because he works at Swing Shift. And like it reminded me, like a year ago, like some guy came up to me, the same thing. And it's the whole spiel. They say, yeah, it's $2,500. My boss said, sell it. They even break out like a magazine saying, look how fancy it is, this and that. But like I said, he actually bought it. And when he got home, he opened up the box, and all it was was two speakers. And then after that, we Googled the brand, and we found out that it's just like a big-time scam. A lot of it comes from, like, China and Malaysia. And they sell it. Way overpriced.
Did your friend write him a check or give him $2,500 cash? Cash. They went straight to the ATM and gave him money. They say a lot of times it happens. It's usually around banks or parking lots where the ATM is accessible. Yeah, can you imagine? You're like, hey, listen, guys, I have to get to an appointment, but can I trust you to give you my ATM card? I'll leave you my address and you can maybe mail it back to me. Thanks for the call, man. Can you imagine? That is brutal. I think me and Seth are going to go into business. Let's see. P1 Sound Effects, are you there? Yep, right here, Mikey. You wanted to talk about the Patriots videotape scandal? Yeah, the meeting was on yesterday right when you guys got off the air, but the people who were in the meeting were saying that the most scandalous thing were not the tapes of the teams, but was the videotapes of the Chargers cheerleaders. What do you mean? Well, I guess...
They were also taping the Chargers cheerleaders on the sidelines. Yeah, so if you're wondering, well, what's he talking about? He's talking about this videotape scandal of the New England Patriots that they were taping practices of other teams that they shouldn't be. And I guess one of the things that they were doing that may have been a little inappropriate was taping the Charger girls. Well, they were taping actually game signals. They were taping the other team's sidelines. And they said that wasn't that much. Yeah, and so this kid who worked for the Patriots finally met with Roger Goodell, showed him the tapes that he had, and Roger Goodell said there was nothing new. that he saw on the tapes. There was no evidence of the taping of the Super Bowl walkthrough that everybody claimed that they had. There was no evidence of that. So they basically said Spygate is dead. Wow. No evidence of it. Does that mean it wasn't given? They don't have any evidence of it. Yeah, we don't have anything like that in our possession. We'll give you what we have. We have two tapes.
We'll give you two tapes. Well, this was a former employee. He doesn't work for them anymore. So it was what he had? It's what he had in his possession. Yeah, yeah. I got two. I got two. Well, he wanted to basically give them everything he had. It wasn't like he was like, oh, I didn't do anything. He was like, yeah, I'll give you what I got. Yeah. So I guess it's legitimate. Sounds a little fishy. 35253 is the text number. Our phone number, 570-1053. Got a great email about a guy's wife and her masseuse. Fellas, do your wives have a regular person they go to for the massage? A guy or a girl? Oh. Guy or a girl. Also on the show, going to do a little hero of the day announcement just after 7 o'clock. Somebody's going to be going to see Metallica tonight and meeting and greeting. With Metallica tonight. Wow. In a very small venue. 2,000 people at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. We're going to announce who the winner is just after 7 o'clock. And we're going to do some lyrical gangsta, too. Pablo Francisco in the stand-up spotlight. 053. Some death metal band. Issa Cortiza. Singer sings like, Issa Cortiza. Issa Cortiza. This is pretty funny. Who are these? It's real. Serious. Decompose.

sleep drain mattress centers. Well, the ride is still looking pretty good overall. No major problems. Just the usual slow stuff in the usual places here. South 15 backing up now from Auto Parkway on down the Via Rancho Parkway. And then you'll find some reduced speeds as you kind of wind your way through that construction zone in Rancho Bernardo. The coaster ride is starting to see some brake lights as well on South 5 now as you come out of Encinitas down past Manchester and Cardiff. Westbound 52, slowing a little bit, coming out of Santee, heading up the top of the summit there. West 8 looking great into Mission Valley out of the East County. No problems on that freeway at all. The West 94, you're clearing the downtown as well. And just a minor slowdown developing on both the 5 and the 805 northbound out of the South Bay now up to National City as you pass that 54 South Bay freeway. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show featuring Mikey. The show members refer to me as Memento because I can't remember anything. Eddie. I feel like I'm a responsible guy. Sky. I am. a social eater. Sean. I like it when the Indian dude at the convenience store calls me boss. Boston Rob. I have a claim to be a genius. And Ashley. I can't even imagine my life without water. 105.3. I was singing this song as the guy sings this song when he performs it. Do you think that he has his hair dyed black, is wearing a some sort of
retro-looking button-down shirt with a skinny tie and maybe has tight black jeans on that sort of taper at the ankle and $500 Gucci shoes that look old. And he's sort of bouncing his leg as he sings. Lucas Rossi would sound like singing this song. It's real. I need no yell. Welcome back. It's 642. Britney Spears got into a fender bender yesterday when she rear-ended someone in her Mercedes. NBA playoffs last night saw Detroit eliminate Orlando in Game 5 in New Orleans. Go up three games to two, beating San Antonio. Our sound effects man, Sean, door-dinged a woman yesterday at work. Didn't tell anybody. It's not one of his proudest moments. How do you do that at work? How'd you do it at work? Well, you know, there's a parking lot here, and I went out to get in my car.
I was trying to put some stuff in the car, and I pushed the door a little bit too far, and it went right into this woman's truck. Were you leaving, or were you getting there? Yeah, I was leaving. Uh-oh. I think I'm going to have to go up to her today. Tell her what up. Yeah. Was it pretty bad? No, it's really small, and it was on that, you know that rubber, like, strip they put on the doors now, like, right in the middle? Yeah. It hit that, so it's, like, not that bad, but still, she'll have to get replaced. Esquire magazine says that this is stuff that every guy should know every guy should master the following skills every guy should be able to shuffle a deck of cards My husband's still working that one out. It's so weird, too, because he plays cards a lot. Bad shuffler. Horrible shuffler. And he plays a lot. I mean, he gets a lot of practice with doing those cards, but he still is a little, you know. Yeah, like every holiday, he's been asking me to buy him an electronic shuffler, but I will not because he needs to learn this skill. Figure it out, guy. Eddie can tell you this. Eddie does know how to shuffle a deck of cards. I know how to shuffle a deck. What about Sean?
Rob and Zeth. Let's take the temperature on the guys on the show. Shuffling a deck of cards. Yes. Yes. Rob? Yep. Zeth? Yeah. Knowing when to split your cards. Hey, what about Sean? Sean. Sean. Yes. Knowing when to split your cards in blackjack. No. Absolutely. I forgot. I'd have to ask Eddie right before we walked into a place. What do I do again? While we're playing, which is all right. That's kind of confusing, you know, because you get these jokers who are splitting twos, you know, when there's like, you know.
A ridiculous card out. I will tell you this. I would never sit down without asking somebody because I know that that's bad manners. So I would figure it out before I sat down. It screws up the table. Yeah. You know, you get people who split tens. Like, oh, I could get two good hands. You're throwing away a 20, you jackass. It's almost always when we're on the airplane on our way to Tahoe that at some point during that flight, I'll say to Eddie, run me through the stuff again. Sean, do you know when to split your cards in blackjack? I thought I did, but I don't think so now. Boston ROM? I'm like you. I always get confused. I always got to just brush up right before. Zethian Oates? Yeah, I know. What's the answer, Zeth? Well, it depends on what card's out. Pretty much always want to split eights. Stuff like that. This thing says aces and eights. Yeah. Would you split aces and eights? Always. Well, you know, it's funny. I've always had heard my whole life always split aces. And I was talking to this dealer the last, I forget where I was, Vegas, I think, because it wasn't working for me. I'd lose every time. And I'd go, what's up, man? What's going on? And he's like, you know, I'm starting to think that splitting aces is a bad thing now. And I don't know. I mean, I guess it just kind of depends. But I always split aces, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I thought this next one was interesting. This is skills every man should master. It's from Esquire magazine. Every man should master the art of speaking to an eight-year-old. Why? Does it say why? It doesn't say why. It says, you know, so he'll hear, but I guess he'll help pay attention, you know, because I guess speaking to an eight-year-old can be a difficult thing, which I never really thought about, but maybe it can be. And what they say is, use his first name. Definitely use his first name. use baby talk, which I think some people might think, oh, it's a kid. I don't know anything about kids. Hey, how are you? They think I'm talking to a kid. Don't do it.
You can tell people who are good with kids and who aren't, like, watching that goofy Dancing with the Stars, they have these kids dancing on it. And you can see which people are comfortable with kids and which people are terrible with kids. Because, like, one of the judges at Carrie, whatever, Carrie Ann, she does not, you can tell she does not like kids. She does not know how to talk to them. It is brutal to watch. It also says don't crank up your energy to match the eight-year-olds. Don't do that. That's impossible. You don't want to. Ask questions and wait for answers and follow up, it says. Every man should master the skill of talking to a dog so it'll listen. And on this one, they say use baby talk. Go ahead. This one, man, I fail miserably on this next one. Skills every man must master from Esquire magazine. As a man, you should be able to install a disposal. an electronic thermostat, or a lighting fixture without asking for help. Uh-oh. You guys are in trouble. Trust me. Now, this is what I know about this. I could go to Home Depot and buy that orange book they have there at the checkout stand, and I'm sure I could do that. I don't want to. And I'll tell you why. It is not an issue of laziness. It is not. It is an issue of it's the same reason that
I don't want to go necessarily riding ATVs. There's an inherent danger that exists that I would rather not put myself in front of. Some dangers I'm okay with, some dangers I'm not. Getting up into an airplane and doing maneuvers, as long as someone else is driving, I'm good. They're a professional. I'm not. Bungee jumping, I'm good. somebody knows how to stick those bungee deals on my ankle. They're a professional. They've done it a million times. I trust them, not me. So that's one of them. Yeah, that's tough, man. The boo showed me how to do a light fixture a couple years ago, and I actually did it myself. And I was really proud of myself, but that was two years ago. I don't know if I could do it again. I bet Sean could do that stuff, but maybe he's... Computer guy. Can you do that stuff, Sean? I've done them all, yeah. You've done disposal, thermostat, lighting fixture. Yes. So smart, Shawnee. Not smart. Just read. You read how to... Yeah, I read the instructions. Yeah. I came with it. I know, but you can read really good. She's really into you today. I think she's in love with you today. Well, I'm always in love with you, let's be honest. Okay, enough. Still haven't gotten over it. Don't worry. Let's not even go there. All right. But hot. What? Not. What the heck? Boston Rock. What happened?
Boston Rob. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can do all that. Oh, boy. I can't take antibiotics, you know what I mean? I can't follow those directions. Let me take it apart. I'll come over to your house later, Mike. Dude, we've seen your work, Rob. No thank you. Oh, shut your mouth. Don't tell me to shut my mouth. You're the worst. You painted your whole house and this is the thanks. You didn't do anything but lay on the ground, you punk. You did nothing. You did nothing. You kept wanting to take five and just hang out. I'm like, Eddie, let's hustle it up, pal. That is the best. Catch on fire for that. You're welcome, by the way. We got to get some drywall done at our house. And I was learning about drywall yesterday. And I'm thinking to myself, how do these dudes know this stuff, man? Like, seriously, seriously, like I'm hearing it for the first time, what is common knowledge to them. And I'm going, I had no idea that's the deal that, you know, well, first of all, I heard two very conflicting things. My wife says, you realize that you have to drywall, let it dry for 24 hours, then paint. Well, apparently there have been advances in drywall. Cause I talked to two different drywall guys that do it as a living. And they said,
Absolutely, 100% not true. We'll drywall and paint the same day. They asked me how big it is, and I told them, and they said, it's all in it one day. I guess if it's a bigger job, maybe. Yeah, if you have to use a lot of mud, then yeah. Remember when I remodeled my bathroom? I said, I got mud in the backyard. I mean, we got mud back there, and I brought a whole bunch of it in the house. Remember when I remodeled that little bathroom? Yeah. They drywalled it, textured it, and painted it all in the same day. It's amazing. Yeah. So, I mean, it can't be done. I need some illegal aliens, I'll be honest with you. Let's just be honest. Like, we're adults here. We're adults. We're not, you know what I mean? They know what's up. We're adults. We're not going to be children about this. But can you communicate with them? You're going to need a translator. Eddie, I mean, who are you talking to here? The coconut. It's all right, Uncle Mikey. Beto, you don't speak Spanish. Whatever, dude. No, Beto. Okay, look, dude. Beto. I think there was some French in there. Quite a statement. I think that was Klingon. Yeah, I don't know what that was. Illegal aliens. Yes.
It also says here that guys need to master the art of asking for help. Yes. Says guys who refuse to ask for help are the most cursed men of all. Did you just hear Rob? The stubborn, the self-possessed, and the distant. Uh-huh. Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh. What are you talking about? I help people out all the time. No, no, no. You need to ask for help. I want to shake you like a baby. You're supposed to ask for help. No, no, no. You're not supposed to shake babies. I better ask for help. Yeah. No. For sure. What? Let's see. It says that most men should know how to tell a woman's dress size. Oh. Really? I wonder if I could do that. Ashley, I'm going to tell you your dress size. I'm going to try. Okay. I think you're a size six. Yes. Is that right? You're correct. I think I know what I'm doing. Wow. You're good with that kind of stuff, though. You're very metro. Very metro. Very hip with the fashions. Well, I wasn't going to say that. What did I say? What? I thought we were just saying something. These are skills that every man must master.
No, I am, man. I'm very metro. Which is a great quality to have. You know what it is? I'll tell you why I know these things. I'm more interested in women than I am men. I feel safer around women. And so I've become friends with women. And so this is stuff I hear. Did Rob just laugh at you? Of course. Hence your point. He illustrated my point. It was a sneeze. Women don't do that. They don't snicker at you. No, they don't snicker at you. No, some snickering. For the most part, you can share stuff with women, you know. Feelings and whatnot. Yeah, feelings and stuff like this, you know. They don't be right. I'm into psychology, you know. I'll give you, for instance, like, you know, last week I mentioned, I said, hey, listen, have you ever heard a song that's actually brought you to tears? And then you guys will remember that Sean. began laughing and said, boy, that is gay. Yeah, you do that. Yeah, you know, and so that's an example of not safe, not safe. Insensitive. Uh-oh, uh-oh, not safe, not safe. Warning. 35253 is the text. Our phone number, 570-1053. Would you like to play lyrical gangsta?

Not down on the field, but in the stands. For Harvey Paloma, souvenir salesman was not on his game. Maybe it was a little pause grabbing plastic batting helmets or constantly yelling, get your souvenirs here. But mostly it was people with hot dog breath screeching about phone finger prices. Harvey was in need of a timeout. So he shut the door to his merchandise stand and headed to the Raptors, where he took a timeout and took in the game. Sure, fans picked the lock and robbed him blind, taking every jersey, cap, and gaudy pennant that wasn't nailed down. Sure, he was forced into bankruptcy, but for 60 seconds, he was in the Raptors and in the zone. So whenever life throws you a nutball,

Yeah, right, dude. That was funny. That's one of the only ones I know how to do. That's something my dad taught me how to do. You know how to change your oil? Yeah, my dad taught me how to do it. I used to do it with him, you know? I have no clue. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I wouldn't even know where to start. Really? Never changed my own oil ever. I got the oil filter tool. The whole deal. Have you done it before? I've done it. What? Not on my vehicle now. Yeah. But I've done it. Mikey, all men should be able to read a map and use a GPS. That I can do. Yeah, I mean, if you can't do that, that's... Tough if you can't do that. How do you not know how to do that? Mikey, you should remind Sean that he cried during a Star Trek episode. That's P1 Petri. Wow. That's true. We all had an emotional moment during a movie at one time or another. Wasn't a movie. Yeah, it was like a weird TV show. Well, it was an episode of a TV show. Well, it's shot like a movie. Shot like a movie.
Now, the Mikey Show presents the search for the truth behind the words, the logic behind the lyrics. It's time to play Lyrical Gangster. I'm going to go with 80s pop, Mike. All right, haven't asked you yet. P1 Bond? Yes. How old are you? 21. 21 years old? Anxious. He is very lucky that we're using a category that we used last time. Oh, really? Because apparently he knows what we used last time, and he wants to go with that one.
All right, let me give you your categories. 80s pop music, 70s classics, and potpourri. What's he going to pick? I wonder. 80s pop. Good choice. Here is your 80s pop music question. In the song Hold Me Now by the Thompson Twins, he says to look at our life now, it's tattered and what? Porn. You got it! Well done. Thank you. Oh, Sean is very proud of you. Thank you very much. Sean is very, very proud. Hang on the line. Sean is wearing a keyboard tie right now. That's right. P1 Greg, are you there? Yes, I am. All right, Greg, what do you do for a living? Drywall. Nice. Oh, there it is. There's your guy. There it is. Do you mud, texture, and paint all in one day? No, not lately. I've just been stocking. What does that mean?
Just taking it to the house and dropping it off. I see. I see. Greg, your categories are 70s classics, 80s pop music, or potpourri. Let's go with 70s. Ooh, got it. Your 70s classics song is? In the song Running With The Devil by Van Halen, he found the simple life. Ain't so what? Simple. You are correct. Two for two. Very, very nice. Hang on the line. P1 Vanessa, are you there? Yes, good morning. I sure am. Vanessa, your categories are, what do you do, Vanessa? I'm in the Navy. You're in the Navy? Yes, I am. And how old? I'm 20. What do you do in the Navy? I'm an engineer. Sail the seven seas. Ah, you sail the seven seas. You're an engineer. What do you do as an engineer in the Navy?
Well, basically fixing turbines, and right now I'm not on a ship, so not yet. I just got off. Okay. Change the oil? Yeah, do you change the oil? Do you have one of those oil filter tools? Yeah, actually, we got some ginormous oil filters. Can you imagine that? How do you take them off? They're just big cylinder-looking filters. They're pretty big. And how do you get them off of there? Well, it's kind of like a big coalescer. And we just pop the top off and pop it right out. Total coalescer. Well said. Your categories are. Potpourri, 70s classics, and 80s pop music. 80s pop music. Got it. Your 80s pop music question is, in the song, Some Guys Have All the Luck by Rod Stewart, he says, Some guys have all the luck. Some guys have all the pain. Some guys get all the breaks. What do some other guys do? They do nothing but complain. Oh, they do. Sing it, Ron. Some guys get... That is true. Eddie is killing it. Eddie is... The two of them are like an 80s video. Eddie, that was... I wasn't expecting Eddie to do that. I'm not sure... I'm not sure what it do now. I didn't think... I didn't... I didn't think I didn't know. I didn't think I didn't know. I thought we were going to play a little bit more of that. Sorry about that, Vanessa. Sorry about that, Eddie. Oh, no. Accept your apologies.
P1 James. Hey, what's up, Mikey? Hey, not too much, dude. What do you do? I'm an electronics tech for the Navy. You're an electronics tech. A lot of Navy personnel calling in this morning. I'm not a Navy personnel. I'm actually a contractor. I work for the government. Okay, I got you. I got it. How dare we? All right, here are your categories. 80s pop music, potpourri, and 70s classic. How about a 70s classic? You got it. Your 70s classics. Trivia question is, in the song Fly Like an Eagle by the Steve Miller Band, time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping, where? Into the future. You are the future. Oh, yes, Sean. Yeah. Eddie and Sean were like Cheech and Chong right there. I mean, they were bopping their heads, like the little dog in the window with their head going, oh, nah. You want to pass me that, dude? Hang on a second. Here you go, brother. And finally, P1 Long Care. What's going on, guys? Is it P1 Long Care or P1 Lawn Care? Lawn. Lawn. That would make more sense. That certainly does make more sense. That certainly does make more sense than... Sorry. Oh, yeah, dude. Okay. I guess we're splitting heads. Oh, yes. Oh, sorry.
Because I guess a guy that takes care of lawns is never taking care of long. Yeah. I'm on antibiotics. Hello. I'm Caucasian and I do it, too. That's right. Wow, that is weird. All right, P1 Long Care. Your categories are 70s classics, 80s pop music, and potpourri. Give me the last one, potpourri. You got it. Yeah. In the song Feel Like Making Love by Bad Company, he says... Baby, when I think about you, I think about what? No, he thinks about love. I'm going to give it to you. Whatever. I'll give it to you. Hang on the line. That song got you in a good mood. It did, man. It put me in such a good mood. I couldn't help it. Our text number here is 35253. Our phone number is 5701053. When we come back, we're going to announce the hero of the day winner, the person that's going up to Los Angeles tonight to see Metallica in a 2,000-person venue. And we... My arm is on a swivel. Dear Tom, I took my girlfriend Heather to Shane Company to look at engagement rings. I was very nervous.
It's such a huge investment. But your saleswoman calmed me down and found the perfect ring style Heather wanted. I whispered to the saleswoman my price range for the diamond and she showed us several. Heather picked one out and your saleswoman placed the diamond into the setting and Heather slipped it on. She was absolutely glowing. Seeing her joy, my eyes got misty and even your saleswoman became teary-eyed. It was a moment Heather and I will never forget. And your saleswoman is the sole reason I made the purchase at Shane Company that day. Sincerely, Steve Shantz. I'm Tom Shane, and thanks for writing, Steve. Brock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. It's still not a bad ride overall, and nothing out of the ordinary. You will find some slow traffic coming out of the South Bay. 5805 northbound, a little jammed up here up past the 54 of the National City. 805 continues off and on up to Home Avenue, and then heavier still from Kearney Mesa heading up towards Balboa. And from there, it's a pretty slow ride over the 52 into the Golden Triangle. The West 94 commute down the King Freeway, a little bunched up from Euclid Avenue now to the 805 as you make that turn onto that freeway. The 8th commute, westbound looking great out of the East County. Big difference from yesterday. This is a clear ride all the way to Mission Valley. West 52, however, that's backing up pretty good from the 125 all the way to the top of the 7th. The ride out of Escondido getting tougher now in the South 15. Slow and go from the 78th to Via Rancho Parkway. Some reduced speeds again over Lake Hodges into Rancho Bernardo. Westbound 78 also a bit tight coming off the 15th through San Marcos out past Nordahl. And the Coastal Ride, southbound side of the 5, quite heavy out of Lucadia now into Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. Mikey Morning Show. Yeah. Dean San Diego. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I want my want like I want my want. Eddie. Well, I'm married now. And the sky. I get the news together, and I know...
The news. Sean. I love it when black people make fun of white people. Boston Rob. I'm a go-getter. Ashley. I am a great driver. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. It's a Mikey Show at 720. Mariah Carey and her new hubby Nick Cannon rented out Magic Mountain last night for their wedding reception. Oh my gosh. Barry Bounds is now facing 15 felony counts. That ain't good. Jake has a fever. Jake! My wife, I think, nailed it last night because he's not showing any symptoms of anything. Skin infection? Yeah. Can you imagine if that Boston Rob's stuff was going around? No, but he's not showing any... He was just hot, had a temperature of about 100 degrees.
I think Rebecca nailed it last night. She goes, I bet he has an ear infection. You know, because he's not, it's not teething. Because usually when they're teething, they get a fever, but it's a low-grade fever. And she said, I bet it's an ear infection because he's not showing like runny nose or any like cold symptoms or any of that stuff. And he's prone to those, right? What, the ear infections? Yeah. Kind of, yeah. He's had a couple already. And I was like, do we have any of that leftover antibiotics? And she goes, no. Of course, I throw that stuff away when you're supposed... And I'm like, I don't know. See, I just do it like I do it. No, you don't. I just wanted to get him some... You should not do it like you do it. I just wanted to get antibiotics in his system. No. Get him started. No. Get him going. You go to the doctor. No. What's that, doctor? Yeah. So, anyway, hopefully he had little rosy cheeks yesterday. Oh, jakey. I hope he's all right. San Diego County Fair. So it's not the Del Mar Fair anymore? They don't call it that? Do they now call it officially San Diego County Fair? Yes. I think I like that better. You know, I know most of the time we're traditionalists. You guys are traditionalists. No, we don't like change. You don't like the change. Nobody calls it that. Let's keep it. But I like that it's all-inclusive, San Diego. Except the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Where the surf meets the sun. No, it's very close, Ashley. It's where the surf meets the turf. But it's very close.
They are going to pay the most amount of money that they have ever paid before to get a band to come and perform or an artist. Is that the deal? Artist? Yes. Okay. Yes. Now, yes. Before you start guessing, let me just put it. Mariah Cannon. Let me just put it in perspective for you. I'm going to work. Previous to this summer, the most they've ever paid is $150,000 for an artist. And that had been for ZZ Top and Earth, Wind & Fire. Each brought in that amount of money. So $150,000 was the max they had paid before. Tiffany. ZZ Top costs $150,000? $150,000. Come on. Whoa. So this year, they are paying someone. Are we going to guess? Yeah. This year they're paying someone $270,000. That's $120,000 more than their top that they've ever paid. So who do you guys think is worth $270,000 for a show? Kenny Rogers. Kenny Messina. Kenny Loggins. No, it's no one named Kenny. Kenny Chesney. It's not a Kenny. I know who it is.
Carrie Underwood. No. That's what I was going to say. It's Blair Underwood from the show. It's Dirk Diggler doing You Got the Touch. You Got the Touch. Nice to a sold out crowd. You Got the Touch. I'd pay top dollar. I want to sit. You Got the Touch. It's just him and his Casio. You can see this live this summer. Magic. You think the bass is taken away from the vocal? Fix it, Nick. Fix it. It's not Dirk Diggler. It's not Dirk Diggler. How much again? $270,000. Are we underwhelmed or overwhelmed? Their previous max was $150,000. I have a question, Sky. Yes. My question is, would you see this artist? Would Sky see this artist? Like, you don't have to pay for the ticket. Somebody has, oh, no. Well, here's the deal. Here's the deal. Forget it. I'm an old lady. It takes a lot to get me out of the house. But if I was guaranteed, like, good seats to the show,
then yes, I would attend. I know who it is. Prince. No. Rihanna. I would not go to a prince. No way. No way. You couldn't pay me to go to a prince. Kelly Clarkson. Why'd you hit on prince? Kelly Clarkson? No. Jersey O'Donnell. People, guess. 570-1053. Oh, it's David in Hasselhoff. 5-7-0-1-0-5-3. Is it Tay Zonday? I know he's commanding. Oh, that'd be good. He's commanding a lot of fun. That'd be good. Good chocolate. I miss him. Relevant artist? Tony Romo. Shut up. Oh, wow. That's good. Mikey Show, what's your guess? Is it Daryl Smith? No. Oh, they would charge more than that. Yeah. Mikey Show. I've got a guess for the Del Mar Fair. Go ahead. Daughtry. No. See, that would have been all right with me. Yeah, that's a good guess. Mikey Show. I know. Nickel Bag. No. It's Nickelback, Mike. Jordan Sparks. No. The cheaper version. Is it Captain Killjoy and the Bring Me Downs? Oh, it could be, Mike. That's not a real group. Sticks. No.
New Kids on the Block. REO Speedwagon. Oh, that'd be awesome, but no. Mikey Show. Whitesnake. Fergie. Yes, it is Fergie. Fergie? Fergie? I was going to guess Fergalicious, man. $270,000. An evening with Fergie will be June 27th at the San Diego County Fair. Bring your own diaper. Now, lots of times you get into these concerts free with your fair admission. Not in the case of Fergie. Tickets for general admission will be $35. Reserve seating is $130. Shut up. Wow. You'll pour water on her. No way. Yeah. Thank you. Got to recoup. That's pretty big. There she is. That's Fergie singing right there.
What the heck? And I'll pick up. Hello? Hey guys, how are you? Barbara? Yeah, it's Barbara calling out. What do you want? Oh, I just wanted to sing along. Hey, give me some luck and luck malicious. Okay, what? Those aren't more than the words. Not the words. Am I slurring? Yeah, very badly. Am I slurring now? Yes, yes. Slurring now? Yes, yes. Well. That doesn't make it better. And your voice is deep. Can I make a request? What? I like that song. Oh, I forget it. The one about the bridge. That's it. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Okay. She's out of it this morning. Do you even know where you're calling? Am I slurring right now? Yeah, bad.
You know you're on the air, right? Barbara, congratulations, by the way, on last night's victory. Oh, you must be talking about West Virginia. Yes. I am a part-time Hillary supporter. Oh, that's bad. That is bad. She's out. Oopsies. Oh, she's okay. She's okay. Wow. Oh my gosh, this is my favorite part. This is where she brings the boys to the yard. Wait, no, that's a different artist. Let me tell you. You're a goner. Fergie's milkshakes are better than yours. A gray goose got a goose. You know better than that. This is bad. You be straight tripping, homie. Guys, can you talk helper? Hey, Barbara. Yes. Please help. Yes, a great thing's heard. What? What is going on? I don't know. I am such a P1. I am such a fan of your show. As a black woman, I'm probably...
I know that you don't have a lot of African Americans in the audience, and maybe you do. In the what? Am I swine? Oh, it's so bad. Like, I can't even understand you. Males dead. No, you do that every day. And the white man is the devil. You need to go take a nap. Please, have some coffee or something. I'm so happy to hear about Fergie, and I will be front row with my girlfriends. Hey! Okay. Wow, that is strange. Okay. We have to take a quick time out, but when we come back, when we come back, we are going to talk to the winner of the Hero of the Day contest. Don't go away. The Mikey Show. You guys ready to do a little hero of the day? So excited. The best prize ever. There is a benefit concert going on tonight in Los Angeles at the Will Turn Theater, and they only seat 2,000 people in that place. Metallica is going to play in front of only 2,000 people tonight for a benefit show. Tickets for a pair of tickets, it is $400. So it's a lot of money. But we're going to be giving away a pair right now. And we are also going to be calling the person who won. We got hundreds, hundreds of submissions for people that wanted to go watch Metallica tonight at the Wiltern and do a meet and greet with Metallica. And it was really, really difficult to decide on one person. And the reason is because... Just real honestly, man, most of them were deserving. Yeah. Most of them were deserving. So it was just really, really tough. But the person that we selected was nominated by his wife, Tanya, who's on the line. Tanya, are you there? Yes, I am. Thank you for joining us on the air. I'm going to read your email here if I can. Is that cool? All right, cool. It says, my husband is a hero. His name is Sergeant Christopher Kane.
He has a silver star and a purple heart for his battle in Fallujah. While he was pulling our injured guys out of a house that they were attacking, he was trapped by one of our bulldozers. The house collapsed on him and he continued to fire at the insurgents. He suffered a crushed right leg and a broken collarbone. He would be very excited if he won Hero of the Day. Please consider him. Thank you. Very short. to the point, and definitely got the point across. Yes. And so what we'd like to do is get, where is he right now? He is up. He's at work? Yeah. Okay, cool. Have you called him and told him what's up? Yes. Okay, cool. All right. I just needed to know. Hang on. Christopher. Yes. Christopher, how are you, man? It's Mikey from Rock 105. Hey, what's up, Mikey? Not too much, dude. We got your wife on the line, too, Tanya. Hi, honey. Hi, baby. And we just wanted to let you know that you have won. You're going to see Metallica tonight in Los Angeles. And you're going to get to do a meet and greet with the band. Wow. Oh, my God. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. That is awesome. So, let's see. How old are you, Christopher? I'm 28.
28 years old. When did you come back from Iraq? Back in 05. In 05. And you saw some pretty heavy fighting in Fallujah. Oh, yeah. How are you doing now health-wise? I'm doing great. I recovered well and back to work. I actually teach recruits how to shoot now. Really? Yeah. That is very, very cool, man. Well, your story definitely touched us, and we thought that you are the very definition of a hero and deserve to be able to go up there and do this. You must have been pretty stoked with your wife. Oh, yeah. She's awesome. She's the best. Tanya, did you tell him that you were putting him in this thing right from the very beginning? Yeah. Yeah. And what did you say, Christopher, when she told you that? I love you. Are you going to take her? Eddie. I can't. She's pregnant. Who are you going to take, Christopher? I'm probably going to take my boy, Derek. He's a sailor. There you go. Awesome. There you go, man. Well, we're very excited, very excited to be able to give you this gift, and we think it's going to be a lot of fun. And you'll have to call us and tell us how the experience was. Yeah, and email us the pictures from when you get to meet the guys backstage and everything. Yeah, man, for sure. Oh, for sure. Yeah, totally. Well, Tanya, thank you.
for writing us and letting us know about your husband, Christopher. And Christopher, thank you for the work you did for our country and also for being a hero, man. Hey, no problem. Hey, Mikey, show rules. Thank you, brother. Thank you. Hang on, you two, okay? All right. That's cool. That's really cool. What a hero. That's great. Hope he has fun up there, man. Absolutely. I think it's going to be a pretty good show. In a small little venue like that, that'll be nice. Barry Bonds now faces... 15 felony counts. Yeah. Wow. Here's what happened. They're really trying to put the screws to this guy because he was already charged with five felony counts of perjury and obstruction of justice and all this stuff. Well, they went back and listened to the testimony and now they're like picking out every specific thing they think he lied about and making it like a count. So now it's 14 counts of lying.
And one count of obstruction of justice. Do you think he's going to go to prison? You know, I don't know, man. That's a hard thing to, you know, basically prove. Because he's basically saying, you know, I didn't know I was taking steroids when I was taking that cream and clear and all that stuff. And it's his word, you know. How do you go, oh, yeah, you did. You knew what you were taking. So I don't know how they're going to prove that. I wonder if they have. Who knows, man? It's really a strange deal. There are candidates that are running in San Diego's 5th District City Council race, and they're stealing each other's signs. What? Grow up. Yeah, man. Figure it out. They're videotaping it. Putting it on YouTube. Are you kidding? Yeah. What is the deal, Sky? Well, Carl DeMaio and...
George George are both running. Excuse me? Yes. His name, he's a retired firefighter, and his name is George George. Hi. Yes. They are both running for the 5th District, the City Council in San Diego. The 5th District covers, like, Carmel Mountain, RB, Muir Mesa, Scripps Ranch area. And so, of course, you know, it's campaign time. They're putting signs everywhere. Well. They're videotaping the opposition putting signs in front of their signs, the opposition trying to steal signs. Oh, your sign's on private property, or you can't take my sign. And then there's accusations about... George George, who's a retired firefighter, using power from the fire station to power something in regards to his campaign. Oh, boy. And the power in the fire station is taxpayer money power. And so they're going to film it. Oh, my. Dude, it's like, grow up. Figure it out. You're adults. I mean, our city politics are the weirdest in the country. A mess, dysfunctional. Yeah.
His name is George George. Why? That's crazy. Well, yeah. George George. Wow. Oh, you're George George. Wow. Hi. Wow. There is a new tropical cyclone forming and moving towards Myanmar. Is that how you pronounce her? Myanmar? Myanmar? Well said. What is it? Myanmar. Myanmar. And now, is cyclone what they call in another part of the world, same thing we call a hurricane? I think it is. I don't know. I don't know if that's the case. I don't know. Yeah. But it's forming. So, according to United Nations figures, they say between 63,000 and 100,000 people died in the cyclone that hit there recently. And they're saying, yeah, a significant tropical cyclone is expected to form in the next 24 hours and sweep across Myanmar's largest city. Oh, wow. Yeah, it's really, really sad what's going on right now. It's really, you know, been quite, you know, to get aid in there has been really difficult. And it's a lot of, you know, government corruption and it's a closed country. And so to get like news footage and accurate reportings has been really tough.
Hey, this is cool. Kid Rock donated money to a Boy Scout troop. Where at, Skye? In Orlando, Florida. I guess, you know, these Boy Scouts go on an annual camping trip, and they had all their camping gear loaded up in, you know, a trailer in this church parking lot, and somebody came in the middle of the night and stole all their camping stuff. So Kid Rock somehow got wind of the story, read about it, whatever, and cut them a check. Kid Rock says he doesn't want to talk about the specific details because that's not why he did it. He didn't do it to get press or whatever. He wanted to help these boys, but he cut them a significant check so they could buy all new camping equipment and still go on their trip. That's nice. Yeah. That's really, really nice. It's good to hear people doing that. Hey, what is this deal? About this guy dressed as Darth Vader attacking these people. What happened? This is the best story of all time. Yeah. Okay, so there's this British Jedi church. Like, these dudes believe that they're called the Church of Jediism. And they love the movies, and they have made the Jedi way a religion for them. And it's these two cousins who run it.
And, you know, they got a bunch of members as part of their, I don't know if you call it a church or whatever, but as part of their religion. And one day they had a video camera set up outside and they were recording themselves in a lightsaber battle. The two founders. Yes. And during this, this guy runs up dressed as Darth Vader using a garbage bag for a cape and everything. No. Somehow has a crutch. I don't know how he got a crutch, but takes a crutch and starts beating the Jedis with the crutch. And the whole thing's caught on tape. I'm telling you, Darth Vader. And the dude is arrested. What are they expecting? Well, I mean, isn't that the point? Shouldn't they have been prepared? Some Jedi. They were just having fun. They had lightsabers. Why didn't they fight back? Well, I don't think they were real, Eddie. I think they were just the toy ones.
Just a guess. Well, if that's the deal, then they're not really Jedis. Yeah, like make up your mind. They were practicing, you know, and so. You can practice with real savers. Jedi always practice with real ones. Whatever. So the Darth Vader guy was in court yesterday and claimed that he was very, very sorry and he actually has no recollection of the incident because he guessed it was something he decided to do after he drank a box of wine. A box. A box. An entire box. A two and a half gallon box. Of wine. That is not how Darth Vader gets his liquids. No. It is not how? The judge granted him a suspended sentence yesterday. If you're Darth Vader and you drink boxed wine, you might be a imperial redneck. That's a great story. Okay. Eddie, I wish that a local television station. I don't care which, Channel 10, Channel 6, Channel whatever, would say, why don't you guys put on like a local show Saturday nights, like Saturday Night Live, but the Mikey show version of it. Oh, that would be so much fun. Because I just got the funniest idea for a skit. People's Court Star Wars. And so, you know, the defendant is like, is like Darth Vader, basically. And the, what do they call it?
Plaintiff? The plaintiff is some, you know, I don't know, Luke Skywalker. And they're suing him in small claims court for something. Right. And the judge looks like, you know, Senator Palpatine or something. Yeah. And is, you know, asking them both questions. Or no, maybe the judge is like a super black Judge Millian. You know, and asking questions of them both. Right. I love it. Yeah, for sure. Asking, you know, about stealing a lightsaber or something. Yeah. Strikes me as funny. Fraggle Rock movies in the works. What? Yeah, dude. Yeah, talk about it. Talk about it. Fraggle Rock. Real? Yeah. Yeah. Does anybody want to see that? I do. I'm good. I've never seen Fraggle Rock. I don't even really know. Is that what that is? Some Muppets, right? Yeah, it is. A bunch of puppets. Muppets? I don't know that there's like a... Following. Following? They really have a fan base? Yeah. YouTube it. I did this weekend. What is the deal? YouTube Fraggle Rock? Yeah, why did you do that? Because I was YouTubing the beginning theme songs to all old shows like Mr. Belvedere and all that. Because TV shows don't have... I don't know. What? Why? I don't know. Why would anyone want to put someone on your free time? Why? Why? It took me like...
Three minutes. Because, like, family ties and, like, cheers. Like, remember, like, TV shows? You don't have, like, theme songs? If I was on the island, everything else, that's the last thing I would do. You're right. You're going to do it later. I'm with you. Last thing I do. Dude, now TV shows don't have, like, good intros to the... show. It's not like a song. They don't sing you nothing. They don't let you know what's happening. Not like the Fraggle Rock days, right? Remember Night Court? Is he really doing that? I don't know, man. Mikey's show. I wanted to comment on Fraggle Rock. Yes. It was a really cool show back in the 80s. I mean, it's a really cool show. I mean, I've got all... That cools right at you. Really cool show? Yeah, I agree. I agree with him. It was really cool. Was it really cool? Yeah. I mean, I watched it. Bunch of puppets. But I don't know. It was really cool. It was awesome. How about Dynamite? Really Dynamite? It was Dynamite. But so the movie will take the core characters and... Stars Demi Moore.
And they will leave their home in Fraggle Rock where they will interact with humans, which they believe are aliens. And they're asking popular current bands right now to write songs for the movie. You never saw Fraggle Rock? No, she would have been a baby. I've never heard of this in my life. How did I watch it? You're weird? I don't know. I watched it. Yeah. Down in Fraggle Rock. Bunch of little hippie things. Yep. Eddie, you didn't watch this, did you? I did. I mean, you know, it wasn't my favorite show, but it was right when HBO was coming out and, you know, Fraggle Rock was on. Did you say that, Sky? That it was on HBO? Yeah. No, I didn't say that. It was an HBO thing. It's just common knowledge. It's common knowledge. It was a hello. Hello, guy. Mikey Show. Uh-oh. See how the radio's turned up? It's bad. That's not a P1. Nope.
P1 calls in, turns their radio down, gets to the point, and doesn't cuss. Mikey Show. Hi, I was going to support B-Rob on his TV theme song. Yeah, go ahead. There used to be a CD called The Greatest TV Theme Song. We have it. They had like 40 TV theme songs. And me and my parents and my little sister and everything, we used to like play the first five seconds to see who could get the TV theme song. Yep. Eddie's right. We have that CD. We've actually played that game on the air. Oh. Yeah, we've done it. I could be making that up, though. You never know. You would never know it. Thank you. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, what's up? Right now they're talking about Fraggle Rock, right? Yeah, we're talking about it. You're on the air. Oh, cool. How is it that anybody... Hasn't seen it. I mean, it was really big. I've seen it. I just think it's lame. You said you had never heard of it. No, that just sent me the link. I just watched it. And then you recognized it? I recognized it. And then I went, oh yeah, I don't watch that because it's lame. And then I decided I'd seen it and I hadn't actually never seen it. No way, Jose. And then I was like, you were all... Thank you. Anybody who claims to be an 80s child has half...
has have to have seen. I have have to have seen it, just like you. I just personally don't think it's my cup of tea. So not even necessary. At all. You guys know what our text number is? 3525. Eddie knows what it is. Bonus points. Yeah, our text number is 35253. So text us. You turkey. And then Zeth will print them. And then I'll read them. You guys know that guy James Frey that wrote that book, A Million Little Pieces, and then Oprah brought him on her show, and then she basically sprayed spray paint in his face. She embarrassed him, and she was like, You didn't really write this, boy. Most of this was fake. That's right. Why did you do that? You said that. Thank you for saying that.
He's got a new book out, and he was on Today Show, and they were asking him about the whole Oprah thing and, like, what he thinks of Oprah. So we'll play that audio next. One more thing. I'm going to save it. It's good, too. I'm going to save it. The Mikey Show. Oh, yes! Summer's here at last. In the song, Some Guys Have All the Luck by Rod Stewart, he says, some guys have all the luck, some guys have all the pain, some guys get all the breaks. What do some other guys do? They do nothing but complain. Yeah, they do. Sing it, right? The guys get... It's true, Eddie is killing it. Eddie is... The two of them are like an 80s video. That was... I wasn't expecting Eddie to do that. I'm not sure what to do now. I didn't think I didn't know. I didn't think I didn't know. I thought we were going to play a little bit more of that. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show at 8.06. Hillary Clinton killed it in the West Virginia primary yesterday, getting 67% of the vote.
NBA playoffs last night. Detroit eliminated Orlando in game five. And New Orleans goes up three games to two, beating San Antonio. I was diagnosed late last year with ADHD. It's attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Me too. Has a big long name. Fun to have that. It says attention deficit hyperactivity disorder hasn't changed, but how experts view the disorder is evolving in a new direction instead of only focusing on the difficulties posed by ADHD today. The upsides are likely to be noted, too. Quick-wittedness, speedy grasp of the big picture, and a great enthusiasm for all kinds of stuff. These traits make ADHDers endearing and simultaneously exasperating. This change may sound like just a new way of describing the same old thing, but to those with ADHD, the difference is profound. Estimated 2-4% of American adults and 3-7% of kids have this brain-based disorder. For them, its difference between seeing themselves as broken...
and thinking of themselves as having advantages, even if they have to cope with being fidgety, distractible, or easily bored. Man, that doesn't describe me in any way. Let's see. We got so much stuff, man. We got so many directions that we could go in. Somebody wrote me about a topic. It was fainting. Somebody wrote me and said that I can't find the email because I'm not organized enough to. Somebody said that they were at a restaurant and that the guy that they were with, it was a date, and he fainted. Oh. That's odd. Man. And I was thinking about it, and I was going, has anybody ever fainted in public? Has anybody listening right now ever fainted in public? Fainting is not, I mean, it was one of those other things that I thought of, like, is fainting real? Like, you know, come on. Like, where they throw the back of their hand up to their forehead. Oh, my goodness.
Or is it like amnesia? Like, is that really real? Do people really get that? Amnesia. Seriously. You know? But yeah, I was at this sushi place about 10 years ago with a girl and we were eating sushi and she vomited and fainted. Oh, sexy. Ew. It was pretty gross. She was sick. And paramedics had to come. No. Yeah. Nothing clears a restaurant quite like that. No. I wouldn't think so. Nothing clears out a restaurant quite like that. Uh-uh. You guys ever have that? My sister did. Really? Yeah, and, like, she was with my mom, and they were shopping. I don't even know this story. Yeah, it was when she was. Yeah. Like in her teens. And bam, just hit the ground. Really? Yeah. What was the deal? I don't even remember. I don't know. I think she was just a bad person. Oh. It was uncalled for. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. I know we've gotten texts, and I'm going to get them at some point. Yep. I'm going to gather them up, and I'm going to read them on the air. Yes. Okay.
I want to wait until special text read time. Okay. And I have decided that special text read time will be in approximately 32 minutes. Wow. I'm going to hold you to that. It has nothing to do with the fact that Seth is out eating breakfast. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, It's like an ice cream shop, our local ice cream shop. It was a local hangout. And my friend, just out of nowhere, he was at the door, just turns around, and we thought he was just, like, going to, like, do something, but he actually fainted, fell right on his face, put his eye open about three inches, had a huge gas, and he had to get an emergency around. What did he fall onto? What did he hit his head on? On concrete. Oh. Why do people... Yeah, what is it? What is fainting? Come on, some MD's got to be listening. Eddie, you're a doctor. Tell us what fainting is. I know you guys are confused because I have a lab coat on, but I'm not a doctor. I think when you're... You're holding a tongue depressor in your right hand. Can you open your mouth? No, I don't.
Now you've said you're not a doctor, so I don't know whether it's just... Just relax, okay? I don't want... Relax. There you go, there you go. You gotta see. You gotta see. What is that? I don't know. It's a tonsil tiger. Ew. Thank you. Eddie just took the depressor out of me. The boo fainted once, and the doctor thought it was just, you know, a quick, you know, lack of oxygen to the brain. A quick lack of oxygen to the brain? Yeah. See why breathing is so important? Yes. I forget sometimes. What the hell? I'll be like, oh, man, what am I supposed to be doing? You guys make fun of me for breathing so much, and it's... When have we ever made fun of you? I told you I made fun of you yesterday. You're like, quit breathing. You breather. I told you I'm really... Into breathing. And you guys make fun of me for breathing with my yoga and everything. You walked out of the office the other day. I'll pull the curtain back and Skye goes, did you guys notice she's breathing again? Okay. And I was like, didn't even notice. Didn't even notice it at all. 570-1053 is the phone number. P1 Dante. Hey, Mikey. What's up? Last year I was at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and then we're on the, you know, where all the food stands are at. Right. I had a friend running towards the food stand because one of her friends was there.
Next thing you know, I see her arm. I mean, her legs are getting weak. Her arms go up in the air, and she just passed out on top of a flower pot. Oh, no. Oh, my gosh. Her face was full of flowers. It was so funny. That's not funny. Well, wait a minute. It is different when it's funny. After that, the first day people came, they picked up on a little, what is it, crutch or something like that? Yeah. They took her away, then they just fed her nachos. Better nachos. Maybe that's a cure for it. Secure for fainting. Low on nachos, bro. Low on cheese. Yeah. Happens. Low on jalapeno. Low on zest. Can somebody call us and tell us what fainting... Is? Well, I think there's lots of different reasons. There is? Yeah, like lack of oxygen to the brain. When you have low blood sugar, you can pass out. Low blood sugar. Yeah. Low blood pressure. No, no, no. But when you do it, like when you go 9-9, what's happening? And is there someone who's a regular fainter, like faints on the regular? And if so, what causes that? Remember Marie Osmond fainted on Dancing with the Stars? Oh, yeah. She fainted on the regular.
I think she is, actually. I think she said that. Well, because I almost fainted once in an aerobics class, and I think it had a lot to do with, like, not eating and over... Sider rice. You didn't eat that much. If you only eat a side of rice, you're going to get full. It was the same day, right? Skye is squinting at Eddie and shaking her head like, what? Why did you even have cider rice? It could have been the same day. What if it was? If you only eat a side of rice and you go work out, dude. Hello? You haven't had anything. No. Oh, no. Good night. I don't know any of this. It was so embarrassing. I could never go back to the class again. What happened? No. Well, because it was during our Mikey show weight loss.
Biggest loser challenge thing. And I wasn't eating enough. And I would do this crazy aerobics class on Sundays that would like kill me. And I don't know. I was like halfway through it. And I started seeing black spots. And my legs started to like give out from under me. And so I had to sit down and put my head between my legs while everybody else is like continuing in their aerobics. Are you sure there was not like a really handsome? strong, muscular black guy standing right next to you and you were like, oh my goodness. I may fall. Right into his arms. Yes. Hello. I'm going back. Here I go. Timber. You wake up and he's standing there with you in his arms. That's so ridiculous. Oh my goodness. I'm so glad you were there. I may need mouth to mouth. All right. I can't breathe. And then I was embarrassed, so I got up, and I'm like, I'm going to keep going with this aerobics thing. Oh, you go, girl. I start going again, and again, the black spots, the legs, and so at that point. Black spots? Let me, yes. Come on. The black, white spots, black spots. Yes, very black. Nubian black. And then never went back to the class. Like an eclipse. Never went back. Yeah, let me teach you two breaths, and then.
Three compressions. Two breaths. Right here. A little to the left. Right here. Right here on these soft lips. Yeah. Two breaths. Yeah. Three kisses. Oh, shut up. Whoa. Just a spoonful of black eye helps the medicine go down. I've never heard that rhyme. It's famous. The medicine. Never mind. I mean, it's catchy, but I'm a rugged, streetwise black man. If you want Ashley's on the line, go ahead. Hi, I just have something to say about the fainting disorder. Oh, I didn't know that there was a thing as fainting disorder. Yeah, it's called syncope. I don't know about everybody, but I had it when I was younger. I have sympathy for some people. What is this? Explain what it is and how it happens. What goes on in your body when you faint? Well, you kind of just black out and you just go down.
Okay, we know that part. We know that part. Sometimes you fall, Mike. Your eyes will flutter. No, no, no. What I mean is, what actually happens in your brain? Like, does your brain... Yeah, what happens inside? Does your brain actually... Turn off? Put you into... Like, you go into sleep mode, or does it... Hibernate. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I've been in a coma actually twice. Whoa. Like, it's... For me, it was a lack of estrogen and iron, and when I got on the pill, it kind of regulated everything, and it was better, but I've had staples in my head, and I've had my eyebrows slit. Sweet girl. From fainting? Yeah, from hitting things on the way down. Do they know what's the matter? You know, I don't really know. Like I said, it was when I was a lot younger. But I wasn't allowed to drive until I got everything figured out. Yeah. Did you do it in public? I did once. What happened? I don't know. I woke up in the hospital. Oh, wow. Where were you? At Baskin Robbins. So you're just standing there one minute in Baskin Robbins. Next thing you know, you wake up in the hospital. I'll have the Jamocha almond. Two days later? That's crazy. What? Oh, man. Whoa. Eat your spinach, lady. Yeah.
Hey, thanks for the call. We appreciate it, Ashley. Yeah, no problem. Have a good day. Yeah, you too. P1, that was P1, Ashley. P1, Sarah, are you there? Yes, I'm here. You fainted when you were getting a tattoo? Well, it was after. I had gotten a pretty big tattoo on my side, and it was like an hour later. I went to lunch, went home, standing up in the garage. A Chinese tattoo. She wanted another one an hour later. Okay. Get it? Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Peep. Sorry to interrupt. Go right ahead. Oh, that's all right. So about an hour later, I'm standing there, and I just remember feeling so tired, and before I could even say, hey, I'm going to go lay down, I was out. Wow. Busted my head on the garage floor and had to get stitches. Oh, man. That is weird. Was there a black man standing by? Because they are very strong. They can catch you in their arms. Slowly. All right. Brough. Rugged. Street-wise, black man. Okay. Yeah. Easy. Nice guy. Roman, if you're listening. Text number's 35253. I got a random debate. Are you ready? Yeah. 5701053 is the number you want to tell us what you think. And here's our text, 35253. Would you rather see women play in professional baseball or professional football? Eddie, you have to. Threw up in my mouth. No, no, dude.
Neither, neither, ever. No, you have to choose. You have to. No. You have to choose. You're going to go to a game or watch TV, and you're going to see ladies in one of these sports. You have to pick which one. No, Mike. Which one? In their own league? Yeah, that's fine. No. Not a league of their own. With the men. With the men. So you're talking NFL, Major League Baseball. Dude, I'm talking you're watching the Carolina Panthers. Oh, dude. Or you're watching the San Diego Padres. Come on. Yeah, I know mine. Physically impossible. You have to. Shut. 5701053. It's the ultimate hang zone. All right. Step into a Baja Fresh and you'll notice three things. The pulsing rhythm of Latin music. The sizzling of marinated steak and chicken on the fire grill. And this. The chopping of fresh ingredients.

We're seeing some better-looking speeds in some of our freeways, especially out of the South Bay right now. Both the 5 and the 805 northbound are looking pretty nice up through National City. 805 still backed up on you pretty much heavily, though, from the 163 out of Kearney Mesa still. That's a slow crawl over the 52 up to Governor Drive. West 94 on the King Freeway, a minor delay in the downtown. There's an accident clearing now just before the 5 freeway to watch for. Your 8 commute westbound looking great out of La Mesa, but still punching up just past the queue at the 805 and towards Texas Street. South Ponce out of the 15 is starting to ease up a little bit out of Escondido, but still finding some brake lights off and on off to 78 to Via Rancho Parkway. It does slow again, though, out of Rancho Bernardo through Carmel Mountain Ranch down to the 56. And the coaster rides south on side of the 5, staying quite tough out of La Costa all the way to Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. What do you call these? Those are cans of Tecate Light. That's not beer. That's cerveza. Oh, come on. Beer, cerveza. It's the same thing. No, no, no. Beer and cerveza is not the same thing. Of course it is. Is it the same thing if I say te quiero or I love you? No, it's not the same. You see, just like amar, querer is not the same. Beer and cerveza is not the same either. I know what you mean. Sorry, honey. I love you.

The Mikey Show. Where you'll get a physical for your morals from Dr. Phil. But I'll tell you what, it means so much, folks, to be here. I'm Dr. Phil.
I heard what this email was, this mother, Ricky, here. Let me tell you something right now. Sticky, first of all, you've got to be sure that your daughter is, boy, I say in finger quotes, borrowing your clothes and not stealing them, finger quotes. Or maybe she's trying to help you by getting rid of your moo-moos and throwing them into the trash. Wow, that's a little crazy. Are you trying to imply that you... Dr. Phil? Maybe trying to make you a little bit more hip. Did you ever think of that, Mom? Why would your teenage daughter want to wear old lady clothes anyway? Don't flatter yourself, Mom. She's probably selling them for crack addictions. It is 8.32. Britney Spears got into a fender bender yesterday when she rear-ended someone in her Mercedes. You guys remember the Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett that almost died on the field last year? Yeah, yeah, yeah. While the Bills finally released him so he can seek long-term disability from the NFL. Well, there it is. So here is the random debate. So women are going to have to be allowed in either professional baseball, Major League Baseball, or professional football. You've got to make a choice. Which would you prefer? It would be a nightmare. A nightmare? I would hate it.
They would ruin my sport. Oh, that's so not true. It would. How would they ruin it? Because, you know, what if, like, one of them was, like, on her period or something? Oh, you wouldn't even know. You wouldn't even know. Ruin the field. Yeah, you would know. That's not true, Skye. You would too, no. Why? Because she'd look a little bloated? No, she would start to get emotional when she got a bad call called her. One of them would cry on the field. Shut up. She would argue for no reason about something. That is true. And the ref would be like, are you? And she'd be like, yes, I am. Okay. Yeah, maybe I am. Ridiculous. I would choose to have her in baseball. Football's hallowed. Thank you. A woman is not going to suit up on Lambeau Field. Shut up. Pray. It's not going to happen. I'm sorry. You are not sorry. No, I'm not.
What if? I'm not. Why am I saying I'm sorry? I'm lying to your face. You should be sorry because it's a sexist statement. That's why you should be sorry. Ashley's right. I got to put my feelings and I got to be honest. Right? It is not right for a woman to play professional football. It's not right. I agree with you. Let me give you an example though. You know how every once in a while we'll hear a story about some broad who is trying to become a kicker for Colorado State? How would you feel about a kicker? No, I don't want a woman to play in the National Football League. Ever. I don't think it's right. Get her out of here. If you never have a daughter, I'm going to play this back to her and be like, you should be ashamed of your father. This is what I'll say to my daughter. To her face. I would. I'm just letting you know now, you cannot be anything you want. No, no, no. I would say you are not allowed to play men's sports. You can go do women's sports. You're a woman. Yeah. No. Why is that wrong? I would say to my daughter.
Because it's not a men's sport. Yeah, it is. Sky, give me the question like you're my daughter. What would she say? And make it difficult. Give me a challenge here. Well, Dad, you know how I'm really good at soccer. I'm like the best player on the team. I know that you can have a great career in football and make a lot of money as a kicker. And I really, really want to give it a try. Sweetheart, I think that you should definitely. Be doing everything you can to be the best that you could possibly be at soccer. But I want to play football, Dad. I want to be a kicker on the football team because I know I can do it. Now, what do you mean? Do you want to be a kicker like on your school team or do you want to be a kicker in the NFL? What are you saying to me? Well, obviously, since I'm in high school, I'm going to go out for the team here. But then, you know, I hope to have a professional career, Dad. This is kind of like a dream. It's your dream to be in the NFL? Well, yeah, the more I think about it, yeah, that would be a dream. Honey, well, first of all, I'm surprised you're saying this to me because you know what kind of a guy I am. I'm very surprised to be having this conversation. What kind of guy are you, Dad? You know that I don't believe in women playing in professional men's sports. You know I don't believe that. But that's sexist, Dad. And I thought you told me that's wrong. That's interesting. To discriminate against somebody based on gender. Describe to me. Okay, say it again. What is sexism?
Well, sexism is discriminating against somebody based on gender. And you're saying because I'm a woman, I can't play a sport that men play. You. Well, first of all, I. That hurts my feelings. First of all, I have to tell you. First of all, I have to tell you, sweetheart. Who cares? I have to tell you. That I do not believe that you are physically capable of competing with men on a professional level in the sport of football. I do not believe that you're physically capable. Well, but, Dad, maybe you don't know how football works, but I wouldn't be, like, competing. I just mean. Well, because you said I would be. He said I'd be competing, and I'd just be kicking a ball. I'd go on the field, I'd kick a ball, and then I'd go sit on the side. Mike, I'm in the backyard. I can hear everything. Eddie, come on in. What is Uncle Eddie doing here? I thought he died. I heard what you said about your father. You should be ashamed of yourself. Why should I be ashamed? He knows about football. Obviously, he didn't because he said I would be competing, and I'm not. I'm out there kicking.
You have to sometimes make tackles. That shows me that you know nothing about the sport, so you shouldn't be going out for something you know nothing about. Dad, you're going to let him talk to me like that? You stupid idiot. What's going on? Yes, sweetheart. He just called me stupid. Who did? Uncle Eddie. Well, then it's all right. That's your Uncle Eddie. You know your Uncle Eddie. I take care of you. It's your Uncle Eddie. You're the worst. P1 Brian. Go ahead. All right, this is what I'm thinking about. Chicks playing football. Put a chick in front of a 300-pound lineman and let's see how long they last in the sport. That's fine. Give them the shot. Oh, Sky, they get really hurt. Sky. They get really hurt. Who said? Your bones are weaker than ours. It's science. If you put a 300-pound woman who's been training for years and years, like, why? Why? Eddie. What? I don't know. I don't see the problem. I just had an amazing moment. Talk about it. Are you ready for this? Make it happen. I got a question for Skye. I'm scared. She won't let her son play football. Skye, your daughter comes to you. Says that she wants to play high school football. I tell her...
It's nice to have that dream. But I believe that that sport is too dangerous for a man or a woman. That sport is too dangerous. Hey, dummy. Hey, dummy. I said I wouldn't let my son play. So how is that sexist? She's a human being. I wouldn't let my boy play. I wouldn't let my boy play. Regardless of gender, I wouldn't let my son play. Sky just said she hates chicks. Sky hates chicks. Opposite of sexism. It's communist. Marxist. Yeah, it would have to be baseball just on the grounds of the NFL. You can't. Yeah, can't do it. Can't be done. P1 Alex. What's up, guys? What's up? On the NFL, sweetie. Oh, you didn't. Eddie. It would be so sweet if a chick would turn on a fastball at Wrigley Field, the smallest field, and hit it out. That guy would never hear the end of it. Yeah, Jenny Finch is the best. Jenny Finch hits it when it's coming underhand. Dude, she's so money. That is a fast pitch. It is. There's no doubt about it. It's fast for a girl. It's super fast.
It's super slow for a guy. It's a different sport. You can't compare them. If she trained to play baseball, she'd kill it. Heck yeah, and she's hot. What do you got on that? What's up with the baseball players all overweight and stuff? Baseball players overweight? With your ugly big butts. That's no way to speak about David Ortiz. I don't know. Thank you. Here's what Jenny Finch is. pitch sounds like to a Major League Baseball player. Absolutely true. Can you slow that down a little? Yeah, you have to really slow this music down. You're so insulting. Oh, look, Jenny Finch is pitching. It's ridiculous. I watched last weekend. I watched the game and it kicked butt. Eddie's being the batter. He looks so bored. He is so bored.
Jenny Finch. Oh, there it goes. Out of the ballpark. He's watching it leave the ballpark. You're offensive. You're insulting. Thank you. I would love to see Jenny Finch versus Albert Poole. Me too. Me too. If she trains to play baseball. If she trains. It's a different sport than softball. So if she trains to play baseball, I'd love to see that as well. Skye, she's not capable. I don't know that you'd be more popular. I think you're weird. Skye, I don't think I'd hang out with you anymore. So you're saying if Jenny Finch practices baseball, she could throw a baseball like 90 miles an hour? Well, is she a pitcher? I don't even know. She is a pitcher, yes. She is a pitcher? Not a belly itcher. She's not a belly itcher. Yes, Sean. Ridiculous. Whatever. P1 Eric. Hey, what's up, Mike? What's up? Hey, I just wanted to say that the country is about to vote a woman for president, so they might as well. No, they're not. Yeah. No, they're not. No, not going to happen. Sorry. If it was up to West Virginia. The country is not even about to vote.
a female Democratic nominee, bro. No way, Jose. It will be Barack Obama. Change. It's very close, though. Yeah, change, bro. It's about change. No. And to all you girls out there listening, you can do whatever you want to do and you can be whatever you want to be. You can, unless it's professional sports. You can. Or like racing. You can be an IRL racer. You know, for certain sports, most sports. They have the women's league, which is really cute. I mean, do you have to use that tone when you talk about it? Yeah, and then they have the men's league. Okay, the real squad. Oh, the men's league. Oh, we're so manly. Our junk is so big. No woman. The best woman in the WNBA, the best woman anything, could not ever make the 12th man on the worst team in the NBA. We absolutely know. You don't know. You don't know. You don't know. You don't know. What about golf? Yeah, what up? Time out. She couldn't compete. We have been having this conversation for maybe the last four or five years. And Eddie has made this point. Sky's argument.
Every time has been. You don't know. I do know. He does not know. Annika Sorensam, the best women's golfer, tried to play in the men's tournament and got destroyed. Didn't some chick just win something? No. Didn't some chick just win something? No, no, no. Annika Patrick just won her first time. Yeah, but there was also something in golf, too, wasn't there? No. Oh, she won, yeah, hottest golfer of the year. In fact, in women's golf, they make the tees up real close for the ladies. That is true. They do not talk like that. You guys get to go 100 yards closer because you're physically not strong. You're physically not strong. You're physically not strong. It's okay, sweetie. It's okay. Because now I know my way because you're a man and you tell me what to do. Thank you. Good girl. Here are some of the text messages that we're getting. Make me a sandwich. I'd have to say baseball, Mikey. I'll make you a freaking sandwich. He likes it like he likes it. There's a freaking rat poison in that sandwich. Why don't you give him a freaking dress and legs?
Yeah, remember, Ashley, when you said you were going to take me on a ping pong? What happened there? Ping pong. That was three years ago, and I'll do a rematch any day you want, buddy. I'll do it with my eyes closed. I would love that. That's what you want, buddy. Freak it. Mikey, I'd have to say baseball. At least there are women. At least the women won't run away from each other to avoid breaking a nail or something. Look who's so funny. Mikey, there are already chicks in football. Case in point, Tom Brady. No. Wow. That's B1, Josh. That's a good point. That is a good point. Then that chick beat your team. Mikey, definitely football. Unless you're the Giants, man. Mikey, definitely football just to prove to them that they belong in a kitchen to make us pre-game meals. 2008, guys. Or with mini skirts and pom-poms for our entertainment that signed Boy Blunder. That is not. No way. He is a misogynist. My fishy would never say that. Yes, he would. Oh, he would, too. Are you kidding me? Ask him about his finances.
Or tell him, haven't you had enough chips? Yeah. Haven't you had enough chips, Rick? Guy hates three things. Talking to him about his finances, telling him he's eaten too much, and women. Three things he hates. Three things he hates. Not necessarily in that order. Mikey, I'd rather have girls in baseball. Could you imagine a girl tied in getting smashed by a safety or linebacker? She would get killed. That's a P1 predator. Yeah, she would get killed. Mikey, definitely football just to prove to them that they belong in the kitchen to make us pregame meals. Oh, it's the same one. Mikey, I'd have to say baseball. Mikey, I'd have to say baseball. At least there the women won't run away from... Zep! Work it out, dog. Work it out. It's alright. It's alright. What's up? Mikey.
The Padres can use all the help they can get at this point. Yeah, right? What about that, Eddie? Mikey, I choose any sport as long as the women are Victoria's Secret models or Hooters girls. What about that, Ashley? You guys are perverts. I don't know what you're going to say. P1 Jared, are you there? Yeah. Yeah, go ahead. All right, I say, hell no. That's not an option, clown. Give them their own freaking league. And they had their own baseball league back in the day during the freaking war. And it didn't work. And if they really want to play, then I want to see some chicks like that. One big old bikini chick on freaking gladiators. Let them get smashed and see how long they last. Thank you. It won't happen. Thank you very much. That guy is really, really into it. Hey guys, it's Barbara calling in. I just wanted to tell you, I can compete in anything because I'm African American. Wow, that's a ridiculous statement. I can compete in any sport and the reason that I can is because I am gifted athletically.
I played basketball at the University of Tennessee women's basketball team, and I almost made the men's team. That's not true. I did. I tried out, and I almost made it. No. Yeah, I was the center for the Tennessee Volunteers. How tall are you? Volunteers. That's what they're called. That's what they're called. Hello, you guys. I got you there. They are called that. Am I floring right now? A little bit. You sound better, though. Am I floring right now? Whispering doesn't help. Yeah. Am I slurring right now? Now it's getting worse. Well, you sound better from when we talked to you earlier when we were talking about Fergie. Yes, I am. The reason I'm calling is because as an African-American, first of all, part-time Hillary supporter, part-time black woman. Thank you. Every time. I was mistaken yesterday for Naomi Campbell.
Oh, wow. I don't believe that's true. I don't believe that's true. It is the truth. What a compliment. Yeah, that's a compliment. Yeah, I was at a soul food restaurant downtown. Where, where, what is it called? It's called Soul Foods. All right, well, that didn't go over well. What's it called? It's called. I don't know the name of it. It doesn't even have a name on the front of it. You just forgot probably. All you do is you smell that good food cooking. You get in there, girl. And I was singing all those hip-hop songs I know. Do you want to hear one? No. Swing road. That's not a hip-hop song. Sweet chariot. Barbara. Knock it off. Come on and take me home. Come on and take me home? Please. What? Amazing grace. How sweet the sound. Stop it. It's really nice. New one from Mariah Cannon. Oh, boy. Loved it. And a one, and a two, and a one, and when the saints go marching in, and when the saints go marching in, and when you know that I am Barbara, then the saints go marching in. That's what I said. Nice. Thank you, guys. I actually like that one, Barbara. Thank you, guys. I really appreciate it. You're welcome.
I like that one. That was a good call. For the record, I'd like to say a friend of mine has I am me a little fact that I would like to talk about. I want to know what friend. Again, somebody else making Skye's argument for her. Well, these are things I don't know. I don't know everything. You don't know anything. I don't know everything. You don't know anything. You don't know anything. Everything. I don't know anything. What friend? What friend? Jenny Garth. Yes, Jenny Garth. Just I am me that Jenny Finch pitched to Mike Cameron. and struck him out in six pitches. Oh, yeah. It was a funny little thing that he did, like, as a joke. No. Never heard of that ever. He can pitch, like, 70-mile-per-hour pitches. 70? Yeah. 70? It got all the way up to 70? Yeah. I just looked it up on Google on the internet. That is my favorite thing you've ever said. And I looked up Google.com and then I typed in Jenny and it came up. Did you Google it up? I Googled it up at the .com and it came up. Jenny Finch 71 MPHs. Wow. That's almost a chain job. Try Googling what a guy can pitch. Yeah. Well, I think there's a difference between softball and baseball again.
Again. Consider this. Why would they never let men into the WNBA? Interesting. I don't know. Also, men wouldn't be allowed to enter any other female sports leagues. Why is that? Why is that? Because they don't want it to be exciting. I saw a WNBA game and it was like layups for an hour. Can anyone do anything else? If you want, I'll come down there. But you're like four foot two, bro. What would you do? Wow. You guys don't get it. Eddie asked if it would be okay if a marginal male pro athlete went over to just dominate in women's sports since it's sexist for you to not want women in men's sports. That's a great point. Let's just make sports non-gender. Okay. Then you guys won't play anything. The only thing is, the only requirement is you got to try out for the team. Best athlete available. That's right. Okay. Okay. No, I said I'm fine. Another coyote attack. Coyote attack.
This time, Lake San Marcos. I'll tell you about it right after this. Family, this is the Mikey Show. All right. What are you getting? I don't know. Just get some chips. Okay, lesson number one. You can't get just chips. Why not? You can't get just chips at a.m. p.m. It would be like saying no thanks to a million dollars or turning down season tickets. Season tickets? It's like telling a gorgeous... French supermodel that you have a girlfriend. It's just something you don't do. You have to at least get a hot dog. Alright, alright. I could go for a hot dog. Yes, and? And a Slim Jim. A hot dog and a supermodel coming right up. You're buying this, right? Yeah. Wait, what? Let's go. At a.m. p.m., you can never have too much good stuff. But not organist Harvey Steiner, for he was fearless, cunning, and about to play da-da-da-da-da-da for the 794th time. His digits in need of a breather, he called timeout and watched the game on TV in the unused owner's suite, playing prerecorded da-da-da-da-da-da for the entire game. Think of the hurricanes as sort of celebrities. Eddie. I have a very strong sensitivity to smells. Skye. I don't like stinky cheeses. Sean. Headshot boys are one of my favorite groups. Austin Rob. I was like a shaken puppy. That's a very common terminology. You guys don't use that? Maybe it's an East Coast thing. And Ashley. I'm always hydrated. The Michael Show's on. Rock 105.3. In the 70s, would Sky have been a roller skater? Absolutely. No. No question. I think she still is. You know how you and Sky are super into Lost? Yes. If you guys and we had been on a show, but the show was on in the 80s, what show would you guys always be discussing like you couldn't believe what happened the night before? Oh, wow. Maybe Dallas. What about the 1990s? 90210. So you guys will be coming in here talking about 90210 in a serious way? Absolutely. And Melrose. We're adults, actually. You're adults. They're adults, so they would talk about 90210. Thank you, Mike. I apologize. For real. No question. Yeah. Okay. Now, please don't be offended. I honestly thought that 90210...
was sort of like a, even when you were into it and you were watching it, I always thought that it was sort of a guilty pleasure, a sort of indulgence, and sort of silly. I didn't think that people thought of it as like, so dude, did you see what happened? Yeah, he obviously hasn't seen it. Honestly, so you guys would be like, in a very serious way, you guys, all kidding aside, you guys would be like, dude, did you check out what Dylan was like? Brenda was a total bitch last night. For real. Yeah. And Melrose. We would probably be into Melrose. Sydney. Is that Tiffany Amber Thiessen? I. I. I. You are the worst. I. No. Who was that? Sydney? Sydney. She's on Melrose. Redhead. Yes. Redhead. What did she say? What did she say? I missed it. I missed it. She said Jennifer Love Hewitt, who was barely like 10 when that show was out. Wasn't she on one of those shows? Also, probably Party of Five. That's what it was. I thought you guys did talk about Party of Five. No. I've never watched that show. You guys talked about one of those shows when we were at KSJO. The OC. Oh, dude. The OC. I watched the first couple seasons of The OC and they got horrible. I watched every season. Don't be proud of that. Oh, I'm proud. Rebecca loved OC for three seasons. Yeah, three seasons was the max and it got horrible.
So I told you when we came back, we're going to talk about this coyote thing. Another coyote attack. This time, family pet in Lake San Marcos. Yeah. They're coming for you guys. I'm telling you. I'm telling you. Who is you guys? Who is you guys? I commune with coyotes, so I'm cool. But the rest of you people are in big trouble because they are coming. How do you commune? How do you do that? We chill. With the coyotes. Yeah, we chill. What do you do? Mostly just kick it. Drink some wine coolers? They're coyotes. How are they going to hold a wine cooler? I apologize. Natty ice. Can you do the natty ice with the coyote? Boy, you guys are dead. They're coming for you people first. We don't even get it. They like white meat. What did it do? Sky? Well, so this all started on Sunday night at a home in the Lake San Marcos area where basically they have this old little dog, this little beagle, who's kind of an old guy. That's half a Sammy. Oh, beagle. And suffers from diabetes, so I guess the doggy drinks a lot of water.
And because the doggy drinks a lot of water, it has to go, you know, urinate a lot. And so it's always, they say it's going in and out the dog door like 12 times an hour. Like a dozen times an hour. Like how much water is this dog having to drink for it to go in there that much? They say that Tippy. Come on. Stop. Tippi drinks three to four gallons of water a day. You're a liar face. That's a liar. I'm lying right to our face. That's what her owner says. So anyways, so Sunday night, the owner heard something in the backyard that sounded kind of like a dog fight. So when I was like, what, you want some of this? You want some of this? Opened the door, turned on the light on the back porch, and saw a coyote with the dog, had the dog by its neck in its mouth. Tipsy? I freaked out. And so, of course, what would you do, Ashley? Run straight up and fight the coyote. For real? Fight the coyote? Yeah, I'd go.
I'd go straight for the coyote's mouth, and I would literally pry the mouth off my dog. I'd kick it. I'd kick it in the head. And then I'd beat the crap out of the coyote. I think that what we're hearing right now... I'd go next. First of all, I think what we're hearing right now from both of these women is liquid courage, because they've been drinking all morning long. Yes, thank you. That's true. I am totally... It's liquid courage. Yeah, we are so awesome. Absolutely true. Eddie, I'm going to make an observation about these ladies. Okay. They talk so tough in here. Thank you. Such a big game. I would run out there, and I would grab the coyote by the head, and I would kick it, and then I would put it in a headlock, and then I'd nuke it, and then I would kick it in the gut, right in the balls, and kick it right out of there. If it really happened, she'd be like... The dog fight before. Really? Yes. Have you ever broken up a coyote fight? Do you know what a coyote is? A wild animal, man. Dude, bring it. You too. Bring it. We will bring a coyote in here. Oh my gosh, Mark! Dude, Mark! Oh my gosh, Mark, I love you so much. What was that? Mark, if you listen, I love you. I love him so much. I love him so much.
I would do it. There's this plug in my head and when it pops, things go crazy. And if you mess with my dog, the plug pops and I'll go crazy. Don't mess with me when I go crazy. I will not because then you'll mock me. Save that clip. There's this plug in my head and when it pops, I go nuts. Save that clip forever. Unbelievable. You're a grown woman. You are. Don't mess with me. That's not true. The two of you. I'll go nuts on you. So what did this lady do? So ran out, you know. yelled, and the coyote dropped the dog and took off. But then a couple nights later, the coyote was back in their yard. Yeah, you want some of this? Yeah, experts say that, you know, what you got now? Yeah, I brought some friends. Hey, Warriors! Come out and play!
Yeah, they say if you're an owner and you have a small animal or a small child and you see a coyote in your area over and over again, that coyote is most likely tracking you and tracking your behavior. And the experts say that coyotes are really smart and they make notes on your schedule. Yeah, dude, they make like bombs for the roadrunner. Rocket roller skates. Rocket roller skates, they are smart. They're really good at that. They're smart. So they're tracking your behavior to find the best time to attack. Just live near like a cliff. And then when he comes at you with the rock and roller skates, just move out of the way. Yeah. Because he can't stop. He didn't make breaks. I never thought about that. He'll make like a trampoline at the bottom. Yeah. But then he'll either go right through it or he'll just keep bouncing up, bouncing up. And then you get like one of those like punching, like a fist thing. Oh, yeah. Like a fist in a box. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then every time he bounces up. It'll be like a boxing glove. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then every time he bounces up, open it up and then bam, right in the face. Right in the face. Every time. Or you can also do a thing where you hang an anvil over like a tree and then he walks underneath. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
These are all good ideas. Or you can go to Acme Company and sometimes they sell the alum and it'll get in there in his face and it'll make his face squish up. What you do is get a gun from there and give it to the coyote and he'll try to use it against you and then the gun will explode and go in his face. And his face will be all black and stuff. Oh really? Can you tell me more about this then? That sounds very interesting. P1 Bob is on the line. What up? Bob, you saved a dog from a coyote's mouth. Oh, you swear? About three weeks ago. What happened? So I let my dog out to go to the bathroom. What part of town? I need to know what part of town we're talking about. It's important. It's not a big dog. It's a little dog. Where at? Why is he not listening? In PQ. PQ. Penasquitus. Oh, PQ. Penasquitus. So about 30 seconds later, I hear some growling, sound like a little dogfight going on. I flip the light switch on, and there's my dog on its back in the jaws of the coyote. First, you tied a hand behind your back. Let him finish. Go ahead, sir. I'm serious. So I charge out there, and the thing took one leg at me and just ran off. Nice. Because you're so ripped. Duh, Eddie. Because you're so cut. Give me a break.
Dude, that happens to me all the time. Okay, here we go. Beto, you're so full of it. No, no, no. It's true, dude. No. You fight coyotes, Beto? Every day, dude. Every day. Every day. Yeah, you know what else I fight every day? What? The cougars off. Hey, man. No, no, no. Get up for me. Don't do it. I believe that. I'm too much man for you. You are barely a man. I have a mustache. You do not. That is not a mustache. No, you were just eating some chocolate. No, dude. I was walking. I was going. I had. I stole. I stole some. What? I stole some liquor. And I was walking. You stole some liquor. Liquor. Yeah, dude. What kind of liquor? A brown one. A brown one. Okay. And so, dude, I was going through PQ. Yeah. And it's out in the middle of nowhere, right? And all of a sudden, this vicious 400-pound coyote, dude. 400 pounds? There's never been a 400-pound coyote. Well, it was hard to tell, dude. It was dark. And so he came out, dude. That was actually Sean in an outfit. Sorry.
That actually is what it turned out to be. Shut up. But then this other time, I was in this ravine. A ravine? Yeah, dude. I was in this ravine, dude. And these two coyotes rolled up on me. I was like, what? What's up, dude? What's up? What did they roll up to you? Like a Lincoln Navigator? No, dude. For real, dude. Seriously. Okay, I'm sorry. You're getting serious. And so they came up, dude. And I was wearing baggy pants and my wife, Peter. Sorry. And I put my arms crossways and took off my wife beater, dude. How can you take off your wife beater if your arms are crosswayed? No, dude. You know what I'm saying? I don't know what you're saying. It's how you look all hard, dude. You cross your arms and you put your hands down to grab the bottom. So it's all in one swoop. All in one swoop. I get it, Beto. Seriously. Okay. And so then I took off my shirt and I was all. And I was all.
What's up? You two coyotes are my ladies now, man. And they were all... What? Yeah, dude, and both the coyotes were all... No, Beto, don't make us do quiet. Don't make us... Yeah, dude, they were all... They were all... Don't make us do prison stuff, dude. What? And I was all... And I was all... Yeah, dude, I was in the can. I said to both of them, I was all... I was in the can. You are my ladies now. You're the coyotes. Yeah, dude, and so one of them, I made give me his, the coyote, I made him give me his apple at the cafeteria every day for shower, and then the other one had to go get me cigarettes from the weddles in the yard. Coyotes. Coyotes did all this. Yeah. Wow. All right, Beto. That makes you cool, Beto. See, Beto has it long. He thinks he knows what makes... He's so out of it when it comes to what's cool. That's not what makes him cool. No, definitely. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. And we invite you to call us or text us about this coyote business. And it has to do with UFC. Okay. Are you ticklish?
I don't see the relevance. I threw something at Seth and it almost hit him in the junk. You all right, Seth? Seth is now showing us how the size of his neck is. No. I mean, geez, it's too much information. We didn't need to know that. Welcome back. It is 921. Well, get ready for a heat wave. We'll start warming up today and we could break some records by Friday. Well, Rob, this is unbelievable. But the Tampa Rays are now in first place jumping over the Boston Red Sox. Oh, wow. Yeah, they slip into first place. All right, all right. How are your Padres doing, everybody? Wow, I don't know why he's so upset. Is that all I got? You're attacking my Red Sox. I'm saying the truth. I'm saying the truth. He's saying the truth. So why are you coming at me? Go ahead, Mike. Why are you coming at me? I don't know. The guy's a hothead. I don't even know where to. He's a hothead. Well, welcome back. Welcome back to the show. Look at him. He's so worked up. I would be embarrassed. If you want Tyler's on the line. I would be embarrassed if I was a podcast fan. Tyler, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. What's up, guys? What's going on? I was just going to tell you a story. I've lost three dogs to coyotes. I live in a ranch in San Diego. Quit feeding them. Yeah, dude, put them in a cage outside. That is awful. You know how people build those big, you know, giant, like, chain link dog runs? Yeah, it wouldn't look good in the community I live in. They wouldn't allow that kind of stuff, you know? Dude, I would not keep getting dogs.
Yeah, probably not. You mean coyote food? Seriously. No, it just recently happened. It was about two weeks ago, and they grabbed him through the wrought iron fence. And he grabbed him, and I was just 20 feet away, so I chased him. By the time I got to him, he ripped his stomach open and stuff. I heard it was a fuggle. It was a papillon. I wouldn't have eaten it if I was a coyote. I don't know. Oh, good morning. I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe indoor doggies. Yeah, maybe. You guys were saying, like, what would you do? So later that night, when my dad got home, I told him what happened, and we loaded our .22 rifles, and we went hunting. Went looking for them. Probably spent about an hour and a half. Did you find them? We found a couple, but, I mean, it's night, and I don't think we hit any of them, but we tried. Yeah. He wanted to get my video goggles and all this good stuff, and I was like, it's not that big of a deal. Let's just chill about it. I'm telling you, man. I read the other day that you can, like somewhere in Japan, and it's a lot of money. It costs a lot of money, but you can clone your animals. Seriously. I've heard that. Yeah, I bet. I mean, I never liked that certain animal that much. Would you clone your dog? Would you clone your cat? Would you clone your coleslaw? Wait. Coleslaw is cloning. No. Coleslaw is cloning. Coleslaw is cloning. Coleslaw is cloning.
Thank you for the call. No, man. Seriously, I heard, I actually read this thing that, and it costs a lot of money. I can't remember how much it was, but it was like, Google it, Sky. How much it is to get your... Are you talking about the article in People? Yes. I read that too. How much is it? Do you remember? $150,000, I want to say. Oh, jeez. Clones. Like, it was like the first time ever they finally did it and they showed a picture. Skrill. Of like the clone dog. It was freaky looking because it was like the same dog. And then that it was, you can clone too in the US. It's like 150,000 if you want to go to this website. Well, first of all, even if I was a millionaire, I would never do that. Really? Yeah, I think it's playing God and being weird. Two things, playing God and being weird. Yes. It's just weird. Like, everything's meant to be born, live, and then die. Yeah. Like, you're not supposed to make copies of it. Not only that, dude, but what if it's all pet cemetery? Yeah, of course it's going to be all crazy. Yeah. Just a little different. A little different. It's a little rough. Yeah, but what if you lost your dog or cat, like, just too soon, you know, to a coyote or something? Rough. Rough. That's how your dog sounds. I don't even know. Roughy, roughy. Stop.
I agree. That's really creepy. Stop it, please. Why don't you come off? Wait. Just come over here. I'll rough for you. I heard you like it rough. Yeah, I'd like to rough all of your face. I'd like you to stop. I'd like to rough your face off. Okay, wait. That's not rough. This is not my dog. No. I'd like to rough your arm until it roughs off. Ah, that's weird. It's really creepy. P1 North County is on the line. Yeah, I just had a couple of coyote stories. I live up in the Vista area, and we have a lot of coyotes in our neighborhood. In fact, my neighbors lost three dogs to coyotes. And they'll crawl right over a six-foot chain link fence, pick up the dog, and jump out. Six feet. Yeah, they can jump like crazy. That's crazy! In our last house, we would find coyote doo-doo in our yard all the time. Did I say acme on it? How did you know that it was coyote doo-doo?
Well, I don't know what else could jump over a fence and leave a specimen like that. Oh, and we'd also find rabbits just ripped apart all over our lawn, too. And toilet paper, so it's weird. Yeah, it's really strange. See, but that's my question with the coyotes. How much weight can they pick up? What's the biggest dog that they can pick up and carry off? Definitely Puggle. No, because my dog's fat, so she's like 30 pounds, 35 pounds. What would you guess, Eddie? It's probably... Not more than? Not more than 30 pounds. Oh, dude, there was no way I was going to say that high. I thought coyotes were kind of skinny and small. Depends the size of the coyote. But still, they don't have to grab it and pick it up. They can just tear out its insides from right there. Can you not be so graphic? Rip out its throat. If I had to take a guess, I would have taken a guess that they couldn't pick up something more than like 10, 15 pounds. No way, easy. Really? You know, there's cats that are that big. Oh, man. Oh, my gosh. Uh-oh. My dog's fat. Maybe that's more appealing to a coyote because she looks juicier than me. She looks way juicier. Like a sausage. Like an ugly sausage. I can't deal with it. Dude, Sammy is like a real disgusting-looking Vienna sausage. Yeah, like it's been sitting out in the sun. First of all, she's not disgusting. She's a Sammyville brat, bro. She's not.
from ancient Egypt. She's gorgeous. She's a beautiful dog. If you make your dog wear clothing, then that attracts coyotes more often than not. Ashley adopted her from a sarcophagus. No, from a shelter. I don't even know what that is, but it sounds funny. That's in your throat, Mike. I think it is. No, no. That was P1 Orlando. P1 Biologist, hello. Yeah, hi. P1 Biologist. Hey, I just was listening to you guys talk about the coyote attacks down here in the area and thought you guys might be interested in a little information that some of your listeners can do around the house to keep dogs from being attacked in the backyard. I would love it. Yeah. Okay. Well, a lot of people that, you know, kind of live up against the native areas will have the sagebrush and stuff grow right up against the fence. What's sagebrush, Sky? What is sagebrush? It's just kind of like those overgrown weeds and brush that you see around San Diego County. It's a native plant here. Okay. So what you kind of want to do is you want to clear that back. I mean, it's fire hazard anyway. Everybody kind of really knows that, especially after last year. But clean that a good 15, 20 feet away from your back fence. Keep the area nice and clear.
And then, you know, if you've got any brush piles or bushes in the backyard, make sure they stand out basically so the coyotes don't have anywhere to hide. You want to kind of pick your dog food up. So if you feed your dog in the backyard, you know, you don't want to leave your dog food out overnight. You know, just pick a couple of times a day to feed your dog and only leave the food out there for so long. And then if you let your dog out at night, you know, like one lady, I guess, that had her dog attacked, you know. had a hard time because the dog's always got to go out and go to the bathroom, but usually you can just let your dog out a certain time at night to go to the bathroom and just make sure you're out there with it, especially if it's a small dog. And stop tying T-bones around their necks. That's true. That's a good idea. We do pork chops, but to each their own. Don't bathe your dog in gravy. That's a good idea, too. Don't do that either. No, but, you know, if you've got small dogs, you've got to keep an eye on them. Usually if you've got a bigger dog like a lab or something like that, one coyote won't mess with it. What about a fat puggle? Yeah, he's pretty much... He's dead. Looks like a he. It does not! She's the cutest thing. I miss her. Yeah, she looks just like King Tut. She is so cute. I love her.
I'll put video up on my blog. No, you will not. So listeners can watch how cute she is. We play and we play. This veterinarian says that a coyote can pull a lot of weight. How much? 70 pounds. That's two Sammies. Dude. That's crazy. That's a lot, man. But that's like dragging it, right? They can actually lift it. Good thing Sammy's quick. Sammy's really fat. But isn't, like, the average coyote weighing, like, 35 pounds? No, they weigh up to about 40 to 50. But they can carry 70. Yes. That's crazy. P1 Nicole is on the line and has something that you can do to keep from coyotes coming into your yard. What do you do, Nicole? Oh, yeah, I used to work at a nursery, and we advertised it. There's actually a fence.
There's a thing that you can install on top of your fence called a coyote roller, and it's just a roller on the top of the fence. So when they try and put their feet over the top, it just rolls so they can't climb your fence. Yeah, it's called coyote roller. Or you can just put a bunch of rattlesnakes in your backyard. So if they come in and they're scoping. Or you can show that Oprah Winfrey show. It's called... Let's see. Are you talking about her reality show? Yeah, yeah. Oprah's Big Give? Yeah, show that. Nobody will come around at all. That's true. ABC is not going to give it a second season. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. What do you mean you're glad I said to your show? Why would you possibly be glad that I said that? Give me a lollipop. Oh, yeah. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. I say he's so sweet. Come on.
Yannicka Sorenstam announced her retirement. That's crazy. She's, you know, fairly young. Only like 30, I think she's 36, 37. Yeah. But she wants to have babies. Women. Hey, listen, if they can't stand the heat. That's another reason why they shouldn't be allowed to play. Quick time out. Your phone call is 570-1053. You sound like you have whining little kids. Oh, I just wanted to sing along. I think at least she gave me some luck and luck malicious. Okay, what? Those aren't part of the words. Not the words. Am I smiling? Yeah, very badly. We're moving in the song, Barbara. Blurring now. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Oh, snap. Okay.
He's out of it this morning. Do you even know where you're falling? Am I falling right now? Yeah, bad. The Mikey Show continues. I'm on the rock. I can't believe this. All right, let me get my... Getting your bearings. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is 940. The San Diego County Fair will be paying the most money they have ever paid for Fergie to perform at the fair this year. Look how happy this guy is. He's so happy. He loves me. I appreciate it. Take it away, buddy. Wow, Mike's back. It's just looking at... Hold on, hold on. It's just kind of looking at the sheet. Mike's going to speak calls. Have fun. Boston Rob's got the con. Okay, this is ridiculous. Okay, what did he set us up going into that break with? You should have been listening.
I was on the phone telling people to stop calling with the coyote calls. Okay, you guys, Mikey is seriously phone screening right now. That's awesome. He's seriously phone screening right now. I want to hear that. That is so interesting to me. Yeah, you need to see what he's screening for. You're supposed to be doing a show, guy. Oh, my gosh. What do you got for us, man? Yeah, what do you want to talk about? What should we talk about? I'm looking at the sheet right here, seeing what he hasn't touched on. Yeah, what looks good. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. Did we go over the OzFest details? No, we didn't. We actually haven't. Oh, we haven't? Yeah. Because I am very interested in this if they're coming to San Diego. What are they going to be doing? Well, you're going to be disappointed there, Rob. This year, OzFest is only going to be playing in one city. It's going to be playing August 9th in Dallas at Pizza Hut Park. Great. Pizza Hut Park. Get a limo. I don't know. A Little Feet plan. Real good, dude. We're opening, bro. We're going to get a limo. We're going to go down there and watch OzFest, Little Feet, headlining, bro. Crown Royale. Yeah, dude. Clown Royale, dude. You know what I mean? There you go. Hey, Rob, you know where I got this? Where'd you get that? I did my limo. Oh, fun. Real nice. Hey, hey there. I like your shoes. Yeah, dude. Yeah, those are some nice shoes. Rob, do the BMW.
Thanks, dude. Get out of my BMW. You're so mean, dude. I thought we were friends, bro. I don't care if we're on the highway. You get out. Don't spit on my BMW. Right on the windshield, too. Real nice. Mike is still screening calls this whole time. Has he put a call through yet? He's seriously screening. This is crazy. This guy. Hello? You are incredible. Did you put a call through? Yeah, he's got... Okay, so line two wants to know if we will do this weekly. I don't know who is on line two, so... Oh, he didn't put a name. Hang on, hang on, hang on. Shut his mic off. Watch, the guy's gonna get on, just cuss, radio blasting. Clown. So anyways, Ozzfest in Dallas will have Ozzy as well as Metallica. Are you kidding me? Metallica? Yes, Ozzy and Metallica also performing as Serge Tankian, Jonathan Davis. Hell yeah. They're also going to do an all-star tribute to Dimebag Daryl.
Oh, wow. Road trip? Oh, wow. Sure. August 9th. I got a place we can stay, dude, real fresh. Go over to Big Fat Paul's. It'll be great. Big Fat Paul's. Yeah, real nice. We'll drive over there in the BMW. Yeah, I got it. Yeah, dude, I get it. You drive a nice car, okay? Well, fine. Tell me every time. I'm a loser. The kid drives a Malibu. Hey, hey, you don't say that. You're my friend. You're not a loser. All right, let's see if we can actually. Are you going to take a call? I know Mike's lined up two calls for you. Do you not like those calls? No, no, no, no. I like this. I'm just very nervous. This is his first time screening, so we don't know what's going to... He runs. I'm just going to apologize now. I'll get some more. Rude Dog, are you there? What's up, B-Rob show? Hey, hey, how's it going? I like that. The Boston Rob morning show. Boston Rob in the morning. Boston Rob and the zoo in the morning. Oh, that is awesome. The zoo crew and Boston Rob. Eddie and B-Rob?
No, I don't want to be part of this. Okay. No, thank you. No. Holy crap. What's going on, rude dog? Hey, I just want to know if this is going to be a regular segment on your new show. What? Doing the news? Yeah. We'll do the news every day on my show. And we'll give you what you want. We'll fill that thirst for knowledge you got. That's a bad call. Why did Mike put that through? I don't know. Stupid question. He's learning. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right, let's see. P1 Leonidas? Hey, what's going on? Good morning. Hey, nothing much. So what did you want me to get into? Actually, beer is a lot. What are you hungry for, pal? I think you should get into the Oprah and James Fry stuff, man. You know what? I saw a little bit of this. You did? Thanks. I saw. How dare you question me? I'm not questioning you. With you and your weird San Diego accent. Thanks for the call, Leonidas. All right. So, what's up? Can I tell you my honest opinion about this James Frey thing? Yeah. Sure. I feel bad for the dude. Yeah. I mean, have you heard the way he speaks, first of all? No. He talks like a girl. No. No, no, he really does. It's not the story. Yeah. Okay. I want to see if we have any audio of this. All over the place. Ooh, we do. Sean, can I hear a...
Are you telling the listeners what this story is about? Yeah, I'm about to. This is the author, James Frey. Talks like a girl. He is on the Today Show talking about being confronted by that Beast Oprah. She just took him on the show and just brutalized the guy. Ruined his career. Probably stoned him. I mean, get a clue. Sean, clip 51, please. Let me go back to that day, and then we will talk about your new book, obviously, which is getting some very nice reviews, by the way. But that was the second time you were on Oprah, after it became clear that you had been lying about certain things in your life. And she basically called you out on the show. She said, you duped me, you duped your readers, you're a liar. Since then, your publisher at the time has said that Oprah actually was very mean-spirited and self-serving in that interview, and that you had been... duped into going on that show that you people have been duped. What was your reaction at the time? Listen, listen. It was a long, hard day for me. Okay, wait. I'm really taking over. Did you hear his voice? I didn't notice anything weird. Sean, could we just get the beginning of where he comes in? Can we do that? Is that possible? It was a long, hard day for me.
I went on the show. It's Miss Winfrey's show, and it's her right to do whatever she wants on the show. She wanted to have a conversation with me. We had the conversation. What's so weird about that? Like I said, I made some big mistakes with my first two books, and I've tried to learn from it and move on. Now, we can actually see the clip here in the studio, and he's wearing a big Carmen Miranda hat while doing this. And he has the Richard Simmons shorts on. That's true. That is true. That guy got beat up by the most powerful man in the world, Oprah. It was just horrible. I'm going to go back to the phones. P1, Clint, are you there? Yeah, what's up, man? Hey, what's going on, Clint? How you doing there, brother? You're killing it, bro. You're killing it. Well, that's, you know, I got to take the reins of this ship and just sail this boat until the midnight sun sets. You know what I mean? That's what I'm saying. Exactly. Taking the reins of a ship. Yes. Well said. I think you need to make this a permanent thing. Oh, definitely not.
You guys would be jumping off this ship like rats. I hope Sean is listening, because anytime you want me to do this on the regular. Dude, the phones are blowing up to talk to Mikey. Is Mikey even able to talk? Hey, Mike. Hey, dude. I wish that I could screen phone calls for myself all the time. I'm doing such a good job. I'm telling you what, man. I'm coaching these guys up. I'm coaching them up. I'm just telling them, turn that radio down, get right to your point. I am telling you, I am on this, guys. I gotta say, I'm pretty proud of this guy. How are we looking for time? We're fine, Rob. Rob, I put some calls up there. I hope they're good for you, man. I hope you like the calls I got for you. How are they looking? I had to shut his mic off. I just see his mouth moving, whatever. Yeah, take those calls for the minute. I can still hear him in my headphones. I'm trying to talk here. I know. That's amazing. Wow. To have that kind of power. That's rude. What's going on over here? Why don't you let me talk? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now he's making fun of me. You're getting him upset. Wow, the power I have. The Padres doing what you're doing. What you talking about? Hey, is he standing up over there? I can't tell. Hey, Mike, stand up. What happened in the playoffs? This guy. All right, I got to take another call. P1 Louie? P1 Louie, are you there?
Louie. Louie. Oh, is he not there? Oh, thank God. First, I want to thank Mikey for letting me through. And I just want to say this is the worst show I've ever heard in my life. Oh, wow. Why would he put that coffee? Okay, hold on, hold on, hold on. No, no, no. Hey, I love honesty. That's one thing you're always going to get at the Boston Rob show. You're going to get my honest opinions and a lot of facts about stuff that you never knew about. So what would you like to hear then? What would make this show better? I'm open to compliments. I can't listen to your accent for more than five minutes. Maybe he wants to hear about the Celtics Cavs series. Oh, would you like to hear about the Celtics series? No. Okay, what interests you, sir? I got to get inside your mind. I just want to dig around for a minute. Open the trunk. What do you like to do on the weekends? That sounds interesting. Thank you for the call. And I tried helping that out. You did. Look at this. We got some techs. Zeth, I just want to say you're doing a great job over there. Thanks for asking. You're doing fantastic.
The sickest ever today. I love the B-Rob and the Zoo Show. We've actually changed the name. It's B-Rob and Sky Loves Ham Show. Okay, that is not going to play. Jeremy. A little bit better. OMG, B-Rob is a great host. Thank you. There's no name on this. You have got to be kidding me. This is great. Great. Look at that. I'll crumple it up. That is some paper right there. You should throw it away. Shabam! Right in the garbage. How's those phones going? Let's see. What else do we got? Mike is lining some calls up for you, bro. Not really. Not as quick as anyone. Of course. Okay, okay. Is this... Wow, where are we? P1, A-O? A-O. A-O. What up, what up? Hey, this show is so bananas. It's a nut job series. You guys are crazy. Rob, you're the bomb. You're the business, man. This is off the hook. I love this stuff, man. Crazy.
I understand so much. Something about bananas. Something about produce. I'm not quite sure what's going on there, but I think it's nice. No, it means good things. Oh, it is good? Cool, cool. Thank you for the call. Let's see. Quimby? is calling to give a show name. So I'm very, yeah, any suggestions on show names, give me a call. Tell them the number. Quimby. Hi. Hey, what's up there, sweetheart? Hello, B-Rob. How are you? This is the most exciting day of my life. Wow. I love hearing your smoothest velvet pipes. Oh, wow. Do you want me to sing you a tune? No. Maybe a little later, but I think Eddie said it best, and I think the new title of the show should be Sausages, Sausages, Sausages. Sausages. Sausages. Sausages. Sausages. Sausages. Sausages. Thanks for the call, Connie. I'm not a fan of that. You have no say. Talk to the host. Yeah, you know what? What can I do? Don't you do it. Is she one, two, three, four?
What are you doing? There. Good job. Oh, my God. This show's never sounded any better. Why did you turn Skye's mic off? Well, Eddie is giving me... Start broadcast. Really good. Eddie is giving me the signal to break. Yeah. Oh, my God. Mike is still screaming. That was the most fun I've ever had in my entire life. What are we going to do when we come back? Yeah, you got to tease. This guy, hold up the board. Hold up the board. How's he supposed to even think he ran out of stuff on the board? How am I supposed to know? There's nothing on the board. There's nothing on the board. Well, you know what? I do got some good audio here. Here we go. Good audio. Two pro. Conan O'Brien had Steve Carell on the show last night. He's funny. So we'll listen to some of that. And Jason Castro, do you remember that? Ashley, didn't you like him? You loved him? And he's gone from American Idol now, right? Thank God. Go back to that hole wherever he came from with his creepy eyes and dreads that I wish I still had on my head. Anyways, says it wasn't fair to vote him off. He says that? He says it wasn't fair to vote him off. I agree. He was begging for it to get voted off. And wasn't he just being a jackhole to everyone? And wasn't there like, don't we have a clip, Sean, of what he kind of messed up? Oh, I think we do. Dylan asked when he did that.
probably should have won. It was on purpose. No, it wasn't. What's going on? Mike wants me to take a call. It is... I know. This is a good call. Mike's pissed. Yeah, he is upset. What's going on? I don't know any of this. I'm putting up calls and I'm trying to let him know he's got phone calls. I know, right? P1 Knuckles is on the phone and he wants to know something about me and Ashley. Oh. He wants to ask a question about us. So when we come back from the break, I will let you know what P1 Knuckles wants to know. Stay with us. It's the Boston Rob Show. Sausages. Sausages. He used to eat a lot of natural food until he learned most people die of natural causes. Mikey. Preseason for two teams that wouldn't see the postseason. But Philly guard Stanley Steely made it a day hard to forget, for he came up with a play that defied logic and maybe common sense. 18 seconds left. Philly up by five. Stanley calls timeout. Did he want a new play? No, he just wasn't in the mood. A genius play, except that Philly had no timeouts, earning them a technical foul. And then he called another, and another, and then another. Six technical foul shots later, Philly lost by one. But to us at Corona, he's the game's MVP, for he reminds us that not even victory can beat ice-cold Corona. So remember, there is no I in team, but there is in line. This has been another great moment in timeout history. Corona and Corona Lite. Imported by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois. Because this has got to be, what, 15 years ago? Maybe more? Maybe more, yeah. Listen. That's tomorrow. And that is it for us today. And we will leave you with a... I can't do it. We'll do it live. We'll do it live. I'll write it and we'll do it live. When do you want to do it, Bill? He wants to do it live, Eddie. Didn't you hear him? Hey, Bill, I heard you, but you want to tape it? Let's just tape it, Bill. Bill, let's tape it. We got time, right? Yeah, we got plenty of time. Oh, he seems like a peach to work with. That looked like a lot of fun. Yeah. I think that's probably a lot of fun. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. That's right. Mikey, B-Rob's...
Wicked Pissa Radio Show. You rock. That's the new name. There you go. Mikey, how about B-Rob, The Majesticals Show? That's P1 Bretizzle. Mikey, how about Manic Mornings with Boston Rob? Terrible. How about The Arborist? I like it. Or B-Rob and The Arborists. How about B-Rob and the Beating Show, P1 Green Weenie? Oh, I like it. No, thank you. Mikey, I am laughing out loud at work. You guys all need to switch jobs at least once a week. I like it. Laugh out loud. Laugh out loud. I said, what if we got Ash behind the mic, Sky behind the mic, and we switched jobs a little bit. I could hit my head and do the news. There you go. Mikey Show, hello. What's up? Hey, it's P1 Root Dog again. Hey, you guys got to do that regularly. with B-Rob running the show. That was awesome. Yeah, dude, it was fun. I enjoyed screening the calls. It was kind of fun. Something a little different? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I haven't done that in 16 years. I did it in 1991. 1991. That was awesome, guys. You guys are great. I'll see you later. Thank you.
Yeah, I did it when I produced the Bobby Mercer show. Oh, that's my favorite. That's right. I was Sergeant Carter at KWSS 94.5. Mikey's show. Hey, I was just going to see what scripture Mikey has tattooed on his leg or something. Something from Matthew or something. It's Matt Hugh. It's actually Matt Hugh. Special Bible. There was a bit of a mistake on the tattoo artist part. Yeah, I just wanted to know what the scripture was. It's Matt Hugh 1128. All right, and what does it say? It's about if you're going through any kinds of trials or tribulations, it's Jesus saying to give it to him, and he'll take care of it for it because his burden's light, and you can give it to him. All right, I'm cool. I'm going to go highlight that right now. Thank you, Mikey. Sweet. Matt Hugh. Matt Hugh. Just make sure that you put it to Matt Hugh. P1 Kansas is on the line, and we'll be taking P1 Kansas' call in approximately three seconds. One. Two, three. There's no place like home. P1 Kansas. Hey, this is, yeah, P1 Kansas. I just got back off a six-month deployment, coming back from spending two weeks at home in Kansas. About 100 miles out. I just want to see how great it is to hear you guys on the radio again. You're really 100 miles out of San Diego? Yeah. Oh, wow. I've just passed out central a little bit. Enough. You're still getting our signal? I lost you for a few minutes in the mountains, but now that I've gotten through them, I'll hand you guys again. Thank you. Where's Toto?
She can't help herself. Thank you for the call. What? Enough. I shouldn't be laughing. It's so stupid. You're an encourager. P1 Chris. Yes. Go ahead. How you doing? Good. Good, good. Hey, quick comment. Hey, I'm a truck driver that drives all over Southern California, man. And I just want to tell you guys, you guys have the best morning show out of all of Southern California. Thank you. My question is to Mikey and Eddie. How would you guys feel about becoming syndicated? Well, first of all, you can't really syndicate from... It's hard to syndicate from the West Coast. It's really hard to syndicate from the West Coast because the East Coast is ahead. So right now, it's like 2012 in New York City. That is accurate. No, it's 1 o'clock in the afternoon right now in New York.
And so the morning shows are way over in New York. Yeah, that's true. You can do it from the East Coast to the West Coast because all they do is they tape you and then delay it and play it like three hours later and it works out perfectly. And we ain't leaving San Diego. No one in their right mind would want to live on the East Coast. Yeah, I mean, who would ever want to live on the East Coast? Or get a tattoo of it on their throat. Yeah, who would do that? Let's go to Boston. Let's do this. No way, Jose. Not in a million years. No way. I'll go with you, Rob. Not enough money in the world. Let's go, bro. No. Thank you. Hey, B-Rob, go Lakers. Hopefully see you in the finals. Hey, B-Rob, go Lakers. There you go, Rob. I'd love to see the Lakers in the finals. I really want to hear this. I don't even know. Yesterday, Shia LaBeouf was on Good Morning America. They asked him about his name. Cut 50. Tell me how many different ways people mangle your name. Oh, it's a million different ways. Yeah. I used to get ch-ch-ch-chia a lot. Just random ch-ch-chia or whatever. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Labuf. Labuf. Lubuf. A lot of people. And it's a Hebrew word or Yiddish word. Yeah. Shia? The first name means gift from God. It was my...
my grandfather's name. And then the last name is a real kicker. LaBeouf means the beef in French, so the name means thank God for beef. That's right. It's very poetic. It's really poetic. Yeah. And certainly central to your nature in some way to be exploited. He sounds like a lot of fun. You know Sean hates Shia LaBeouf? Why? Oh, I don't like that dude at all. Why not, Shani? Well, I saw, he was in, remember that show Project Greenlight? Of course. So he was in one of those, like, you know, films, and he was kind of a prima donna in that. Oh, he was not. He totally was, bro. He was not. Absolutely not. And he was there with his mom. Sean, the guys that were directing that movie were idiots. Oh, this guy's going to be huge. Oh, you're a fool. No, no. Sean, don't let you listen to that. He is so wrong. Yeah. The guys that directed that movie were idiots, and you know it. No. Yes. He sucks as Indy's partner, too. It's going to be his son. That's why he didn't want to see it. He says he's out on it. Oh, really? He's not going to see Indiana Jones? Yeah, okay. Have you seen Iron Man yet? Kyle LaBeouf might be in it, dude. I don't know. You need to hand in your nerd card. You need to figure it out, bro. No! You'll never take that from my cold, dead hands. Did you guys play when B-Rob was the host? Did you play the James Frey thing? Yes. You played it? How was it?
It was the same clip we played yesterday from the Today Show. It was? Yeah. Really? I didn't want to tell them. Speaking of Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford talks about, oh, how nice it was to put that costume back on. Cut 59. I hadn't worn the Indiana Jones costume for 18 years. And early in our production process, the costume was sent to my house. For me to try on, to see, you know, where we're going to change sizes. So on, so forth. I put it on. Change my floss to me back. It's comfortable. It's wonderful when I put my teeth back in and tried it on. Ew! Hey, wake up. Hey, wake up. Hey, wake up. Dude, Harrison. This guy slapped him. And I said, uh... Oh, no. Mommy. Oh, no. Wrong script. Tell us about using the whip. Cut 60. The whip came back pretty easily, too. I was surprised because it's a relatively uncommon skill. And I wasn't terribly good at it, but I was good enough for show business when we did it 18 years ago.
I had lost touch with the first whip trainer that I used, so we had a new whip trainer with a different technique. And I was able to bring it back in a couple weeks. The great Errol Flint. Yeah, Bela Lugosi showed me how to use it. Charlie Chaplin helped me. Yes. We were in the first talkie. The old Nickelodeon. Yes, that's right. This was before I... Started dating Greta Garbo. I think we're done. Well, we got... Oh, no, no, no. Oh, no, no. Oh, no, we are not, buddy. I missed a whole page. We're not even close, Mike. You want to see what Jessica Simpson said about being the Dallas Cowboys jinx? Cut 27. took a strange twist when Jess first started dating Tony. He was leading the Cowboys through the playoffs. Angry fans branded Jess a jinx. That's crazy what everybody said. I didn't know that me wearing a number nine jersey would ever have that much power. What did Tony say about it? He never had to apologize. We jumped that hurdle and the rest is history.
I like hearing what the celebrities have to say, but I hate playing clips from Extra and Access Hollywood. You hate the voiceover? Yes. The worst. And the music. It's so pukey. Pukey, and then trying to make the words rhyme and stuff. Trying to make double entendres. Oh, you're so clever. Oh, I hate that stuff. Let's see. New study on using your cell phone over a landline. What's a landline? That's the thing that plugs into the wall. Who uses that? The houses do. People use that still? I guess. Who do you use that for? So a new study says that... Every time that thing rings, I'm like, honey, what's that thing making that noise? Microwave's done. Microwave, yeah. Honey, can you take the popcorn out? So a new study shows that 16% of homes only have cell phones.
And then 13% have landlines, but they never use them. Wow. Sky, do you use your landline? No. We don't, really. Yeah. That is nuts. Yeah. And then they break it down. They say low-income people are likelier than more affluent to have only cell phones. Those with only cell phones tend to be living with unrelated roommates and renters. A third of those under the age of 30 have only cell phones. So just a bunch of different things. Sounds like a landline right there. Hello. Baby, this is Eunice Simpson calling. This is O.J. Simpson's mother. O.J. Simpson's mother, Eunice. Who's that? That's my husband, Chauncey. Chauncey. Hang on a second, honey. I'm calling because I heard Sky talking racist. What did she say? What did she say? She said low-income people don't know how to use a telephone. Did you say that, Sky? No. I heard it say it, too. Oh, that's Chauncey. I heard it. No, I said that low-income people have a phone, too. Yeah, Chauncey said. But low-income has nothing to do with it. You let her finish. Chauncey said low-income people could use a phone, too. Sky, low-income people can use a phone, too. I know. I never said that. And Eunice. That's how you think it's going on right now. What?
What the hell? You even think I'm calling all right? He knows how to use the phone. Well, Eunice, I said low income. I didn't mention race at all. Yeah, you did. You said black low income people. No, I never said that. I never called out to you. Apologize to Eunice. I will not because I didn't say that. Oh, no. This is awful. I'm sorry, Eunice. Don't apologize. I didn't say it. She didn't mean it. I didn't say anything, Eddie. Every time I listen to the show, she's saying something new that's racist. That's true. I'm not racist at all. about saying that the men can't play in the NBA. Wait, earlier you were saying men can't play in the NBA. She didn't say that, baby. You say, what you say about women? I said that women can do whatever they want. Baby, get your story straight. Oh, no, they're fighting. You like black men? What the heck? Why don't you stick to your own race, girl? Eunice. Eunice. He don't want to know what a woman is. Chauncey. Chauncey. I'm sorry. I don't even know his name. Chauncey's an idiot. Wow.
Every black man in prison is innocent. You say that every time. That's stupid. That's a stupid comment. That's because it's true. It's not true. You need to start looking up legislation. Race doesn't play a part in legislation. Oh, really? Let me guess. It's because my phone is black, too. The point you're trying to make right now is that my phone is black. I am black. Everything is black, right? Yes. No, Eddie, that's not what we're saying. That was the point I was making. Can I ask you one question? Yes, Eunice. Who y'all think is going to win American Idol? I say it's David Archuleta's to lose. Exactly, because he's white, right? I want Saisha to win for myself. Yeah, but you ain't going to mention Saisha because she's black. She's the worst. Nobody said it. She is opposite. No, she's the best. Really, she's the best. She has the best vocals out of anybody on that show. I agree. I just said it. Oh, wow. You guys aren't getting along today. Sky. Yes. Why are you trying to kiss my husband?
Skye, that's awful. I'm not. You're married. She's married. How can I kiss her husband over the phone? Eunice, how does she do that? I will tear that weave right out your head, girl. Eunice, Eunice, I don't have a weave. I will tear it out of your head. This is my natural hair, Eunice. No, it isn't. Yes, it is. No, it isn't. Yes, it is. Where'd you get your hair dead? Tell me. See? Because you're lying. I'll have OJ come over there and take it off for you. No, no, no. I got the girl. No, no, no, no. Oh, boy. That would be bad. You guys really think that's OJ's mom? Yes. I do. You really believe it? I do. She showed me identification. I think Sean has his doubts. Where? America's Most Wanted nabbed their 1,000th fugitive. Wow. What? What? They're going to have a special that will air on Saturday night on Fox, and the thousandth suspect was Dwight Smith, a New York real estate agent. Oh, the guy from the office. No, no, that's a different Dwight. That's quite true. Yeah, and he's a real estate agent who is accused of murdering a friend over a deal that went bad. Let's see. Let's take some phone calls. We've basically finished everything up. Mikey Show, hello.
Don't forget there's a controlled burn today at Miramar. So if you see smoke. Calm down. Calm down. Quit screaming at the top of your lungs. Please stop screaming. Let's see. I think I hit the big stuff. 50% of insured Americans, and I'm talking health insurance, they're taking prescription drugs. Wow. 50%. Half the population is on prescription drugs. Yeah, $10. Or another. Agent care, $10. Don't go in the sun. Great. Yeah. Whatever. The most widely used drugs are those for high blood pressure and for cholesterol. P1 Chris. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? Hey, first, I just want to say, crazy, wicked, awesome show today. Thank you. I just had a question. Eddie, you saw Iron Man. You saw the premiere, right? Of course. Do you think it would be cool enough to take an 8-year-old boy to that movie, or is there language in it? Depends on the kid, man. You know your kid, so... Yeah, I know my kid, but I remember you mentioning... There's no language. Violence, you know, there's some. Yeah. Obviously, but it's, you know... More like CGI kind of stuff. Kind of, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think it would probably be all right, depending on the kid. Okay, cool. Mikey Show. Hi, did I miss the Rob and Ashley question? Oh, what happened? Did that guy hang up? You didn't keep him on, Mike? Well, I had to come back in here. That was your job. That was your job.
Way to drop the ball, man. Oh, no. Maybe he'll talk back. The answer is yes, they're together. Yes. The answer is together in season one, broke up in season three. Yes, it's his baby. And then back together in season six. Back together. Wait a minute. We haven't got to season six yet. We haven't? No. So are you giving something away? I haven't even written it. Spoiler. Mikey Show. Mikey Show. Hello. Hey, what's up, man? How's it going today, guys? It's going really good. Go ahead. No. Here's your mouth. Do it. Do it. Words. Speak. Your mouth hole. Hello? Yeah. Maybe he doesn't know how to. Ask the question, dude. Oh, you just made Zeth yell, and he never yells. Never yells. That's nuts right there. Hello? Yeah. Can you guys hear me? Yes. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. At least breathe. Yes, I can.
Go ahead. You're on the air. Are you kidding me? What can I do for you? Mike, give up on him, please. That's your boy. That's your boy. He is my boy. Mikey show. Mikey show. Mikey show. What's up, Peter? I'm the P1 Mondo. Yeah, great, dude. You're going to abandon your boy? Is that it, dude? I'm going to abandon my boy! What am I supposed to do now, dude? Now you're announcing it to the world like you're proud of it. Thanks, dude. That's great.
That's great. You know why? Because we thought we were friends, me and Woodsy. We thought we were friends with you guys, but I guess you guys are just... I guess when you move back to California, you get all... You just forget about your boys. Yeah, you forget about your boys because you get back with your old boys and everything, so you forget you had boys back in Texas. Yeah, that's great. A lot of boys. That's great, dude. Is that the deal? We're just not as sophisticated. We come out there, dude, for you, and you never come here to see us. That's right. I get it. That's right. It's Mercedes. It's not BMW out in California, isn't it? That's right. Sorry. We had to learn the hard way. You have brow for us. That's right. Hey, I tell you what. You guys ever decide to slum it back with your old boys back here in Texas? Let us know, man. Thanks, Kiosk. Thank you, man. Thank you, dude. You know we're just kidding you, right, buddy? Yeah, dude, you're my boy. Come here. Come here. Give me a kiss. I love you. Come here. Give me a kiss. No, dude. I don't like to be kissed by me. Come here. Come here, dude. No, get away from me. Don't kiss me. Woods. Shut up. Woods kisses. No, he does not. I'm telling you, he kisses. It's so uncomfortable. It's so uncomfortable. He'll kiss your face and everything. All manly. Yes, he'll do it all manly. Dude, it's not gay. I love you, dude. I love you, bro. All right? You mean a lot to me. Sorry. Let me tickle you. Mikey Show. Yes? Yes, hello.
Hi, I just wanted to see if I could... Go ahead. I just wanted to see if it would be a way if I could come in and be on a show with you guys one day. What would you like to do? I just wanted to come in and sit in here with you guys because you guys are having so much fun. What is your name? My name is Lisa. Lisa, how old are you? I am 38. I see. And what part of town? I live in Southeast San Diego. What do you do for a living? I'm in the Navy. You're in the Navy. Well, this is what we do. Every Monday, we play Mikey Show Trivia. If you win, you get to come and hang out in the studio. Can I come hang out with you guys next Friday? Well, here's how it works. On Monday mornings. How does it work? On Monday mornings, we do a contest where we allow people to call in and play this contest. And if you win, you get to come in and hang out and hang out in the studio. But I'll give you a question right now. If you can answer it, then we'll set you up. That's not fair to you. How is that not fair? That's not fair.
How many people try to get an MP1 trivia? That's not fair. Can you have the other one sing the song? What's her name? She doesn't even know me. This voice sounds weird. Yeah. I think it's Mikey doing a voice. That's right. Yeah, you got to play Mikey's show trivia. We do that Monday mornings. Call in. Get in on it. You might win and come in and get a backstage pass and hang out with us. Okay. Can I get a free gift or anything? Oh, my God. Eddie, we got anything? What do we got? Eddie's saying we got something. We got to have something. Lucky strikes. We got to have something back there in the old prize bin. Can I get a gas card for the week? Lozenge. Yeah. Yeah, can I get one too, Mike? Yeah, you guys. All right. Hey, let me... You know what? We don't have any gas cards right now, but I'm sure we have something. I mean, back there in the old prize bin. Ash, we don't have anything in that folder over there? We might have... Like some cough drops. Okay, who knows? Which I would be more than happy. Hang on a minute. Gentlemen on the phone? We will give you something. Give you some kind of prize. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. You want Matt Damon? Hey, Matt. Matt. What's going on?
You guys were killing me earlier with V-Rob. That was hilarious. I haven't even... I gotta hear it back. So funny. I gotta hear it back. He tried to do Bellman and Woods with me. No, he did. Like, the whole time he was, like, mocking your mannerisms the way you, like, do things. What do you mean mocking? Not mocking. Not mocking at all. I was... Why would you mock me? It was an homage. It was more of an homage. Very much so. It was an homage. Dude, I learned from the best, man. There you go. Yes, that's true. I was wondering if we could end the day with a little drama queen song or something. Why? He loves Matt Damon. It's the only time he calls. I know. He always requests drama queen. I was so irritated with Sky earlier. Oh, well, I was irritated with you, Matt. You are not irritated with Matt Damon. I was. You love Matt Damon. I was. I was irritated by him. You're the one thing girls can go play guy sports. I'm not the one doing that. Thank you. Hey, Matt, how you been, dude? Pretty good. Just same old, same old. Yeah. How's your pool? It's awesome. Everything's good. Everything's good. All right, brother. We'll talk to you soon. That's P1. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matthew. Mikey Show. Guys, it's beating. Thank you. Thank you for the call. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, Mikey. Matthew Damon. Go ahead. Hey, Mike, you going to be at the Wally World show this weekend? You know it. What? That's this weekend? I don't know. Is it? Where's it at?
Is it really? Yeah. Still at Hamburger Sally's or whatever? No, it's at some pizza place. I got it written down in the office. Come on, Rob. Come on. Get it together. You're setting up the amps and stuff, right? Oh, heck yeah. He's a roadie. Mikey. Yeah. Hey, that voice you did at that hood rat was pretty good, man. Don't even know what you're talking about. What? Mikey Show. Hey, guys. It's P1 Spartan. Hey, what's up, Spartan? I just wanted to let you guys know that it is very embarrassing that Sky and Ashley are the advocate for women's rights because they don't have anything intellectual to say. What would you say? What would you say in that argument, ma'am? I think that just for the fact that you're okay with making sports non-gender, our anatomy is different. It's science, Holmes. You've got to send that clip to Shawnee of her saying it's science, Holmes. You got, Ashley's looking at me like, I'm not sending it, you send it. Wow. Ladies and gentlemen, the lovely and talented Missy is up next. Tomorrow is our Friday. That's your girl. That's it. Tomorrow's our Friday. And tomorrow on the nooner, or excuse me, today on the nooner, all request lunch with Missy. If you request, we will see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. Mike shows up, babe. Love your mouth.
