It was a hot one this weekend with temperature records being broken all over the county. Padres get a double whammy in the bad news department. First they lose to Seattle 3-2. Then they find out Jake Peavy is going to miss his next start with elbow pain. Well, the 08 season was fun. Not pretty much. Actually, not really. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call. Is it hot enough over the weekend for everybody? It was a warm weekend. So, yeah, Sky says record's broken. We'll go into it in just a second. And you can call us, 570-1053. Quickly, let's introduce everybody on the show. Seven people on the show. I'm Mikey. I'm 37. I'm the host of the show, and I have a shaved head. And I am Mexican in descent. That is the true story. It is, but I don't speak Spanish. I am what they call a coconut.
I'm brown on the outside, but I'm light on the inside. So Eddie is our producer. He's our sports guy. He is 35 years of age, doesn't speak Spanish either. But fluent Italian, Eddie, is that the deal? Because you are Italian and Mexican. So fluent Italian. There it is. See, I told you. Yeah, that's right. He just said it right there. He said lasagna. That's right. He said lasagna for all you prisoners is what he is. I think if I understood correctly, I think is what that meant. Skye's 30. She is our news girl. She's having a good hair day and she has curly hair. Shawnee, oh boy, who I cannot see. What's up with Shawnee's deal? What's going on? I don't know. The camera dropped. Camera dropped. Shawnee is 38 years old and he's very tall. And he has a very particular way he dresses. I got to show you guys the pictures of Jake dressed like him. Oh, I can't wait. Sean got him the same kind of clothes that Sean wears. Looking way sly, Mike. Sean wears something called chance, which are half shorts, half pants. Not a real thing. And he also wears something called slews. Yeah.
They're kind of like slippers because they don't have any strings and you just slip them on, but they're also shoes. So they're slews. They're just shoes, Mike. And so, yeah, Sean got, oh, and Sean does love his Hawaiian shirts. Yeah. So he got shants and slews and a Hawaiian shirt for Jake, and we took pictures, so I'll make sure that I get one of those up. Love it. Ashley. She is 24 years of age. She's gorgeous. She's blonde. And very, very fun, perky gal. Austin Rob. He has hair growing back. Yes. Do it. Do it. He really does. He had shaved his head a while back, and now it's coming back in. That's crazy. Rob is 25. He's engaged. He screens phone calls. And another one of his duties. Singer-songwriter. Yes. Write songs. Talented. And then there is Roosevelt. Huh? Zethian Oates III Jr. Esquire. Wow. And he is a jack of all trades. Does a lot of different things and a lot of different tasks for the Mikey Show. Sits behind me to the right in the corner in a high school classroom desk. Appropriate. That's right.
And he's got a microphone right there that he can use. So 570-1053 is our phone number. And you can call us right now because at the beginning of the show and also at the end of the show, we just let you call in about anything you want. Your weekend, how hot it was, if you went to the movies, anything you want to talk about. Questions, if you have questions for any of us, you can call about anything. So, Sky, what happened with this weather situation? What records were broken? It was crazy hot. So I have all the records that were broken yesterday, but it's my understanding that it was actually a little bit hotter on Saturday. Really? Yeah. But yesterday, there were lots of records broken. Alpine, 94. El Cajon, 95. Escondido, 98. Lindbergh Field, 86. Vista, 94. Wild Animal Park, 97. It was like Africa for those animals. Yeah, I heard the wild animal park hit 100 degrees on Saturday. Get out of here. Yeah, I read that over the weekend. Yeah, it was a hot one. Oh, man. I know it. I'm surprised that they didn't, you know, that one of those deals didn't happen where they shut down the power because everybody's cranking their ACs. Oh, the rolling blackout? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm surprised too. But let me tell you, in the morning, when the sun first comes out, it's beautiful.
I mean, it's beautiful. It looks like San Diego and stuff. So, yeah, give us a call, 570-1053. I got baptized on Friday. It was a really great experience and so cool that all the friends were there. Awesome. It was really cool. We took Friday off, and so now we're back. And, yeah, we want to hear from you, see what you're doing. A little bit later, as a matter of fact, in about 15 minutes. I'm going to ask Eddie, Sky, and Ashley how the new Indiana Jones movie was. So we'll save it. And let me tell you, it took everything for me to not ask and to try to not get into it, you know, because I want to know what you guys think so bad. So, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's coming up. Friday. Was it Friday? Yes, I believe it was Friday or Thursday. No, it was Thursday. After we got off the air, the California Supreme Court said that banning gays from getting married is unconstitutional. And so gays can get married. I know. I watched it on Ellen. Can they already? She announced it. Now, can they already get married? Can they get married like today? No. No. You got to wait. 30 days. 30 days. Ellen announced that she.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't talk. We're going to get into all of it. We'll get into all of it. Okay. Cheers from Sky and Ash. Jeers from me. Cheers for queers. Yeah. We got cheers and jeers. I'm a man and you're a man. Now, where do we go from here? P1 Eric. Hey, Mikey, I was wondering if you saw the SNL skit this past weekend. Two a-holes sing karaoke or whatever. No. Yeah, it reminded me of the Bauman stuff you guys do. The Bauman. Great. Don't spit in my car. Great. Don't spit in my car, dude. Well, what was the bit? They were at some karaoke place and had to go up and sing karaoke and they just decided they were going to do some comedy skit or something instead. Just being difficult. It was kind of funny. There you go. Thank you, brother. Let's see. This would have been a bad weekend to not have air conditioning. Oh, funny that you say that. Yeah, funny that you say that. You guys both have it. No. No. You guys don't? Ash, I thought you had the guy coming. Oh, there's been like insane drama with that. Are you allowed to have it? You're not allowed to. There's insane drama with that. Like, it's a really long story. No, no, no. But without getting into it, does your place allow you to have air conditioning? We don't know. The permit.
I don't know yet. I guess we have to go to an HOA meeting, and I've got to present my case to all of my neighbors, and then they've got to vote on whether or not they think it's okay for me to get air conditioning. Oh, man. And there's 40 units in my complex, so we've got to wait for the meeting, and my next-door neighbor is the new HOA president, and she's like, well, we just had a meeting, so the next meeting probably won't be for at least another month. And I'm like, great. They won't let you just sign, get a couple of signatures? Let it go through? Dude, that's why I'm saying there's major shenanigans going on with it. Could you do it? Could you vote no and let your neighbor be real hot? Could you do it? No, never. But if you're maybe bitter that you can't afford air conditioning? Maybe then you would. Or if you're maybe bitter that you don't have a boyfriend? Oh.
Okay, let's not necessarily talk about it. You want to know the real story? No, no, no, please. You want to know the real story? I really don't need to know the whole story. I don't want you to do it. I hope that wasn't about the president because I would be quiet if I were you. Or maybe in the last month you've put on about 14 pounds. Oh, man. Oh, my God. You know. Wow. You know. I don't even know what to say. We probably shouldn't go into it. We probably shouldn't. P1 Praetorian is on the line. Oh, man. Good morning, Mikey Show. Good morning. Congratulations on your baptism, Mikey. Thank you, bro. I just want to tell you, my family and I are at Target on the weekend, and the Speed Racer merchandise was marked down. It seems like no one's interested in that movie. It only made $7.6 million again this weekend. Yeah. I heard that they were actually paying people $400 to buy the thing. Yeah. Yes, a very steep price, like 20%, 25%. Sales of that stuff should be brisk. Yeah, I bet. No, thank you. Ten days. I don't think they're going to sell it. I don't think anybody wants it. It's terrible. That would be including me. I did not see it. There you go. USS Ronald Reagan is deploying this morning. About 7,000 sailors going out. That's a lot of men. Yeah. A lot of men. Oh, yeah. A lot of people. I'm glad you say that because I always, whenever I think of the military, I only think men. Yeah. I literally have to hear the word women.
And then I go, oh, yeah. They're allowed. Oh, yeah, they're allowed to fight. They're allowed. Stop. They're in the military, too. So, yeah, 7,000. That's a lot. That is a lot of people. You guys hear about this Nintendo game that's coming out today? Now, I'm interested, first of all. But what's strange to me is maybe they're trying to create a buzz and they're releasing it on a Monday instead of a Tuesday because Sky usually reads the new releases Tuesday. Yeah, I do the new releases on Tuesday, but I think a lot of new video games actually come out on Monday. So when I read the new releases, it's the new ones that come out that week. Yeah. Because CDs and DVDs come out on Tuesday, so we lump them all together. So that means that this will be available today or tomorrow. From what I read, it's being released today, hitting stores today, Monday. So they don't, even with video games, they do it whenever, that week. They don't necessarily do it on Tuesday. They do it that week. Yeah, I'm not exactly sure, but I know when I go on Tuesdays to gather all the information, some of the dates are like Mondays. Well, they have a new game coming out today. It's called, is it Wii Fit? Yep. It's a game where you exercise with the Wii. Wii! Wii!
Yeah, I'll do it. I don't want anyone to see. I'd be ashamed of myself doing it, but I would do that. They say that Wii Fit features strength training, aerobics, yoga, and balance games and comes with a balance board to help you make sure your center of balance is right and that you're doing the exercise correctly. And it's retailing for $90. $90? Yeah, because it comes with that balance board thing. The balance board calculates your body mass index, your weight, the way your balance shifts and everything. Very interesting. How about that? 570-1053. Call us and talk about anything you want to talk about. P1 Jim's on the line. Hi, I got the same problem as Ashley. I live in a multi-unit condo complex and they are not allowing us to have air conditioners. This is in Lakeside. That's crazy. Do they give a reason why? Because they don't want all the units to have a different brand sticking out of their window looking ugly and non-uniform. It's going to bring down the value. Well, then they should specify you can only have this brand if you live in this complex. Yeah, that's a perfect solution.
Yeah, and that's what we've been saying, but the HOA president and some of the board members are just like, yeah, well, we don't know. We don't want to do it. It's a power trip. Like, it's nuts. Like, they take it so seriously. And I was literally like, you don't understand. My dog is, like, dying. She's panting so much. And then, you know, she comes back with, well, I've got two dogs, you know. So I say, don't people think that it's kind of mean? Like, inhumane? To not say, yeah, sure, you know, it'll bring you comfort in your life. In your house that you own. Thank you. What if there are, like, elderly people that live there, you know, and they have a really hard time with the heat? Yeah. What you can do is you can get a portable air conditioner. Right. Right. Yeah, the room ones. They're not cheap, you know, but it kind of helps. Yeah, it does. Yeah. Thank you. P1 Tom says he recommends surfing for people if you want to lose weight. Oh. He says it's a really good way to lose weight, right, Tom? Absolutely, man. Actually, we surfed almost every day, and he lost 40 pounds. Who? My friend, Andrew.
Now, what is going on where you're actually getting the heart rate? See, the shark bites half your body off. Is that what happened? You lose 40 pounds. Yeah, man. I could lose 100 pounds. Yeah. No, thank you. No, it's just all the swimming and then you need a lot of core strength to have the balance when you're standing on the board. It's just stuff in the middle. Gets you really fit. Gets you some nice abs. Yeah. Shark. Does anybody forget that? The whole thing? Is it already gone from you? Do you not remember? Like two weeks ago. Hello. Hello. Hello. Please. Skye, are you sure you didn't get the following story mixed up and that this story actually came out 35 years ago? What's up? Lonnie Anderson got married on Saturday. Wait. Are you sure? To Burt Reynolds, right? Yeah, to Burt Reynolds. I remember the story. Great story, but it's old. Well, they were like co-stars in a lot of movies. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that's a really old story. No, she got remarried on Saturday. Really? To some folk singer named Bob Flick. Oh, yes. All of his albums. Bob Flick. Yeah. All of his albums. He was part of the group The Brothers Four.
We have a copy of their music right here. Yes. Flick out. Flick you. That's right. It's great, man. You got to get it. So good. Yeah, so I guess. From the album Flick You Off. I guess Lonnie Anderson and Bob Flick originally met in 1960 when she was growing up in Minneapolis and a local news. She was like 40 by that time. Yeah. No. Stop it. And a local newspaper sent her out to their concert to pose for a photo with them as, like, a lucky fan because she was a hot chick. So they're like, oh, yeah, pose with them, and we'll put it in our paper. And that was the first time they met. But like you said, she actually married Burt Reynolds, and then they rekindled their relationship. And so they had, like, a big wedding poster up at their wedding, you know, when you, like, walk in the door and there's a picture of the couple, and they actually used that photo back from 1960. Wow. Romantic. It is. Stop. This is creepy.
Sweet story. Sweet story. It's really, really tender. Yes, it really is. And she's going to divorce him and marry Venus Flytrap. Did he just make that name up to you? No, he did not. Wow. No, he did not. He sure did not. It's WKRP in Cincinnati. Shut up. That's right. Never saw one episode. What? Whoa, really? Not one. That's crazy. That is shocking. Isn't it? Well, it's your era, and it was like a radio station. It wasn't serious enough. It was a sitcom. I needed like, you know. But you love Three's Company. Yeah, but I also, that was when I was 14. I got into Three's Company when I was 14. Mike. No, no, no. WKRP originally started, I believe, in the late 70s. Mike. And so I didn't watch that. In the late 70s. Very disappointed in you. My thing, Little House on the Prairie, Eight is Enough, Family. These were my serious dramas that I had to watch. I had to watch them. I had to watch them. They were meaningful. Touching stories. P1 Milkman is on the line. Morning, Mike. How's it going? What's up, man? Hey, I got a question. I went after your sticker strike, and I got an extra sticker, jumped on the hood of my car, put it in the front windshield. Love your sticker. It's awesome, by the way. Sweet. So I'm going to blow it up when I get a new car.
and put it across the front windshield. My girlfriend's saying it's ridiculous, and she won't ride in the car if that's the case. She won't ride in the car if you do what? I want to blow up a sticker and put it all the way across the front windshield, not where it's restricting my vision so I can still see. But she says if I do that, it's full extreme, and she won't ride in my car. Well, why don't you compromise? Maybe you blow the sticker up and make it bigger and larger, but you put it on the back window instead of the front window. It's a compromise. I like it. Okay. There you go. Give a little, take a little. Yeah, you give a little, you take a little. Awesome. How to find your own ride. Whoa, that's not symbiotic. Yeah, that's not so symbiotic. So there were sports that took place this weekend. Really? That's true. I know this because my dad only watches professional basketball during the playoffs. He's just like me. Probably everybody else. Yeah, he loves it then. I don't love it. You don't? He loves it. I don't love it. He's telling me all these stories about LeBron James and he's King James. That's my grandma. Wait, what? Grandma. Your grandma's into it? Oh, yeah. She does the same thing. She actually plays in the WNBA, which is really interesting. Very athletic. She's amazing. Great Cavs. Every year wins that slam dunk competition. It is really impressive. In the senior category. Interesting.
Eddie, Boston, from what I understand, defeated the Cavaliers. Rob is doing phone calls, so I don't know. We should actually get through this. Yeah, let's just drop that story. Okay, so they won. And then Salt Lake was also in the playoffs. Salt Lake City. The Salt Lake City Jazz. Salt Lake City Jazz. Salt Lake. Salt Lake City Salts. The Mormons. Yes, the Salt Lake Mormons. So what is the deal? They advanced as well to the finals? No, Mike. They did not advance. The Lakers did. So it'll be the Lakers and the Boston Celtics? No. Celtics? No. Sounds like a good one. What's going on? Tell me what's happening. Well, Celtics advanced to play... Detroit. Oh. Semi-finals. Okay. And then same thing. Lakers are playing in the semi-finals. With who? Yeah. That's a good question. I don't know. The Phoenix. Jazz. It's not done yet, right, Zed? No, it's still. Game seven, I think, is tonight. It's the Hornets and the Spurs? New Orleans and San Antonio. New Orleans has a basketball team. Yes. We've gone over this several times. Oh, man. Charlotte moved to New Orleans, and then New Orleans had to go to.
To Oklahoma City after Katrina and then Oklahoma City went back to New Orleans. And now they're back in New Orleans. And they're still the Hornets from Charlotte originally. Several times. Isn't that something else? That is something else. Fascinating. And now Seattle is probably going to move to Oklahoma City because they're not doing well in Seattle. Oklahoma City is going to have another team. What about Salt Lake? What about Salt Lake? Well, see, there is no. What's up? P1 Kim is on the line, and she saw Speed Racer. Oh, sorry. Why'd you do that? Hey, Mikey. Yes. Why'd you do that? Good morning. Hi. It's Monday. You saw Speed Racer. I did. What'd you do that for? It was really good. Yeah. Of course it was. You have plenty of elbow room. You can kick back. There's nobody in there with you. There was a little bit of room, but we bought an IMAX, and you have to see the IMAX, definitely. How come everybody says it's awful? Well, who do you talk to? Everybody. Everybody says it's awful. The box office. Have you been on Yahoo and looked at the...
No, but we also haven't been on Mushrooms, and you may have been. You may have been. And the Colors and the IMAX and the Mushrooms. I don't do stuff like that. Okay. Well, listen. The story was good. The music was good. The acting and characters. You know what else rocks, Mike? What, Eddie? The Laser Zeppelin show. It's great. Awesome. Trip out. Oh, yeah. Yeah, we heard he's in it. He's good in everything. That's right. Oh, that's great. Well, I'm glad that... Okay. I'm glad that you enjoyed the film. Yeah. Alrighty. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. That's a lady that enjoyed Speed Racer. There she is. That's right. She's the one. There's the one. I'm very, very, very surprised that Eddie has not said to me yet, hey, dude, got some interview opportunities to go over here. This one just came across my desk. Apparently, there's a girl that likes Speed Racer. Are you interested in talking to her? Yeah, I mean, she's so in demand. It was so tough to get her on. Yeah, let's get her on. I never thought we could get her on. We got to get her on. Are you kidding me? Just luck, I guess. Yeah, blind luck. P1 Gypsy, what's up? Oh, my gosh. I'm hearing you guys talk about.
Speed Racer movie? Mm-hmm. The worst thing I ever saw. There you go. This interview, not hard to get. Yes, this is an easy one. Everywhere, really. We went to the drive-in. Drive-in? You went to the drive-in? Awesome. Yeah, where did you go to 1955? I want to go. Yeah, we all want to go. Yeah. Where did you go see it? Where was the drive-in? Santee? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. They do still have drive-thru. They take the DeLorean. That's right. Just saw Kramer vs. Kramer there last... Stop it. Everybody. Thank you very much. I appreciate the phone call very much. Yeah. Give him the break sign. Thank you. Well, he did. Oh, I did. We got it. On that note. Okay, so here's the dealio. We have this text number. It's a trip. Sonic. So you, you kids, you kids, you can text message us. This is Neil Diamond. Why don't you pick up your texters and texty. Just send me a texty to my celly. 35253 is my digits. Don't wear them out. Oh, my God. Our phone number here is 5701053. We got a lot on the show today. We got the DCC coming up just after 7.
That's the dumb chick challenge. Ashley. Speaking of Ashley, we have a new song about Ashley. Awesome. And it played on Thursday for the first time ever, and we'll do some more of that. Go ahead, Ash. For the record, my boyfriend's brother heard that, said it was the funniest parody song he's ever heard in his entire life. Well, it's about Ashley passing gas in the middle of the night. Which is ridiculous. While she sleeps. I mean, give me a break. It's kind of gross. Funny because it's true. Give me a break. Thursday, after we got off the air, California Supreme Court says gay marriage and not allowing it is unconstitutional. You must allow. And so Sean says 30 days from the announcement, people can get hitched if they are homosexual. So we'll talk about it. Congratulations, Seth. We also have audio of Mike Huckabee joking that Osama bin Laden was assassinated. So we'll get to all of that. Who did I say? Osama bin Laden. Did I say Osama bin Laden? That would have been funny. Yeah, that was really bad. Looks like I'll have an apology to make, too. It's all coming up. 105.3. I was minding my own business. No one was talking to me because I just did a show. This guy bumped into me, which is cool, but he didn't apologize. He said, move.
And I thought that was rude, so I said, go to hell. Then I started to run. He caught up with me. He had a mustache, a goatee, a pair of earrings, a pair of sunglasses. His hair was in a ponytail, and he was wearing a hat. He said, hey, you got a lot of nerve. I said, hey, you got a lot of cranium accessories. It's Mikey. The Mikey Show is on. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. And for the most part, we're looking at a typical ride on our freeways here this morning. No major problems to be concerned with, but the usual slowdown South 15 off to 78 off and on to Via Rancho Parkway. And then some reduced speeds again as you wind your way through Rancho Bernardo. The coaster rides up on 7 to 5 also slowing down now out of Encinitas down into Solana Beach. The westbound 52 starting to see some reduced speeds about halfway up the hill coming out of Santee to the top of the 7th there. Your eight ride westbound clear all the way to Mission Valley. The 94 King Freeway westbound. That's a beautiful ride out of Lemon Grove all the way to downtown. And things are looking fine as well out of the South Bay. Both the 5805 northbound, they're moving right along up into the city. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105.3. I'm on now. I was talking over commercials before. I don't know any of this. I don't know why I did that. I was about to tell you about the Border Patrol. When I was so rudely cut off by business, the cool thing about working for the Border Patrol is that no one day is the same. Now, that may be part of the rut that you don't like about the job that you're doing right now. The job that you're doing right now, you kind of feel like every day you do the same exact thing and you don't like the monotony of it. In fact, you go home, you eat the same thing, you go to sleep at the same time, and you feel like it's just, ugh, you can't get out of that.
Why don't you check out the Border Patrol, where every day is exciting, and that's coming from the mouths of guys that have actually done it. I talked to two agents before I ever agreed to talk about the Border Patrol in the air. And these guys say, dude, I love my job. I love my job. I love Christmas. Sky. I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong. I'm just rarely wrong. Sean. You know, I'm really terrible at getting gifts. Yes. Boston Rob. Keeping it tight. That's what I'm doing. That sounded hard. And Ashley. I don't get along very well. I don't think with, like, normal, boring people. Oh, come on. Wait a minute. It's the Mikey Show on The Rock. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Mikey Show. It is 641. Ashley Simpson and Pete Wentz got married on Saturday at Ashley's parents' house. Big Brown wins two-thirds of the Triple Crown, winning the Preakness on Saturday. UPS trucks or something. You guys know what our text number is? I think it's 35253. That's 35253. This text message says, Ashley, it was so great seeing you on Saturday. Thanks so much. You and your boy are adorable. P1 Demi. Who's Demi? Demi is the P1 who I went to her.
high school dance show. That's cool. Saturday night. It was rad. It was real good. That is very nice of you. Was she good? She was so good. That's cool. She was in like practically all of the dances and these kids like choreographed themselves the dances and it was impressive. That's awesome. Hey Mikey, just wanted to say thank you and all the guys on the show for everything you do. I'm an EMT and work six days a week Monday through Saturday and listening to your show really helps me go by and is a real spirit lifter during those hard times when this job can really start to get a man down. Thanks again, and have a great day. Hey, Mikey, what's the name of the teapot you pour in your nose? I know it's for sinus infections, and I'm miserable. Where do I get one? Signed, P1, Mrs. Coach. It's called the Neti Pot, N-E-T-I, and it looks like a little teapot, short and stout. Here is my nostril, here is the spout. Pour a little saline in and watch gunk come out. It's a little nose pot. Check it out. Yeah, it's called the neti pot and you stick the end of it. You mix this little saline solution in it and you stick it in a nostril and you turn your head to the side and you pour. Can you get it just like anywhere? CVS, any pharmacy, they have them there. My mother recommends the ceramic ones, not the cheap plastic ones. She says those cheap plastic ones are not worth junk. They're junk, she says.
And they really do work. But inside our face, we have this thing called a Eustachia tube. And mine's too big. You know what I'm saying? I've heard that before. That's right. That's right. And so I can't use the neti pot. It worked, but it also gave me some issues. But for most people, it works. By the way, so Friday, I think Friday, no, Thursday. Thursday, I went and saw... The doctor, the sinus lady. Oh, cool. And she says that my problems are anatomical. They are not allergy related. Really? Yeah, she looked inside my face. Oh, gosh. From a CAT scan. I got a CAT scan done. Oh, I thought she had superpowers. No, no, no, no. What they do is they take cats and they stick them on your chest and the cats run all over you. Oh, sounds like fun. It's called a CAT scan. And then they videotape it, and you take the videotape to the sinus doctor. She laughs and makes a recommendation. That's good. Nice. So, yeah, she looked in my face and said that I can benefit from surgery. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Great excuse to get a nose job. I'm thinking of that. You've always wanted. I'm thinking of that. I'm weighing it, though, and I'm saying.
Now, what do I tell Jake, you know, because my faith and everything, what do I tell Jake about if Jake grows up and goes, Dad, so what's the deal? The nose God gave you isn't good enough? What do I say to that? Oh, interesting. But then I said to my wife, I go, now, am I sort of like projecting what I think he'll, like, how do I know he'll say that? Right. How do I even know he'll bring it up? He'll only know one nose of Dad. How do I even know he'll go, hey, Dad, what up? I don't know. I need to think about it and pray about it. But I'm thinking of getting a nose job. Look at his face. Well, if I do it all, I could do it all in one shot. All in one swoop, dude. And you guys, I think I got to have that hernia surgery again. What? Yeah. You're falling apart. Well, what it is, here, let me explain before people start freaking out. Explain. I have a gigantic incision down my belly. And because of that, if I lift anything heavy, like a boy that weighs like the size of a two-ton Mack truck. Right. My son. Yes.
You're basically, you know, from lifting your your insides get pushed. And so it pushes against that incision. So it's back. You know, it's just a matter of sometimes it's a little uncomfortable, but not all the time. And so I don't know what would be fantastic is if I could get the hernia surgery, the nose job, the sinus all at once. Be fantastic. I know this dude in Mexico can do all that. I don't know, Eddie. No way. No way. P1Ducker text messaged us and said, Speed Racer was awesome. I loved it. It's an artsy movie, so I guess it requires a certain audience. No. Artsy? Was it the chimpanzee running around that was artsy? Maybe that was the arts. John Goodman. Maybe he means... Artsy fartsy. Maybe that's one. That's different. That is way different. Dude, artsy fartsy is a totally different genre than artsy. You know what I mean? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Dude, Mikey, I'm 13 years old. I've listened to you since fourth grade. You guys rocked my world. Later, dude. That's a nice text message. Okay. I want to know. Let's do this. Now, friends who saw the movie. Yes.
We're not going to give away the big secret because that wouldn't be cool. Okay. Well, you just gave away that there's a big secret. Didn't even know there's a big secret. It was a major plot point in the movie. Didn't even really get it, so you're good with me. Okay. They didn't explain to me. Ashley's seen the movie but wants to know what was the secret. There was a secret? Didn't even know until he explained it. We're talking about Indiana Jones and the Temple of Cadaver is the name of the movie. The Temple of Cadaver. That is what it is called. I thought it was called the Crystal Skull. Oh. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I see. It's made us motto. The return of the skull. Yes. Okay, now this movie actually gets released in theaters when? Friday? I believe so. This coming up Friday. But Eddie and Sky and Ashley got a sneak preview of it yesterday. Awesome. Show enough. Show, show. This film is, listen, on the surface. It looks like it would be for real because it's Steven Spielberg back at it again. George Lucas. George Lucas, Steven Spielberg. They're both, it's the original creators of the franchise. It's not like there was new hands in there screwing with everything. Even Harrison Ford is back. So, Eddie, how was it? Well, there were parts that I loved and there were parts that I hated. Oh, no. Oh, no. So, I'm very middle of the road.
It in no way can compare to Raiders of the Lost Ark, which is the tops in the four. Absolutely. It's, boy, it's really difficult because this major plot point that we're talking about is the thing that I hate. And it's kind of what the whole movie revolves around, and I hated it. Thank goodness I missed that. Wow. I have to talk to you about what, I don't know what you're talking about because I don't know how you could. I hope we're talking about the same thing. That's so bizarre. Anyway. We'll find out. The cool, old-school Indiana Jones stuff was great. Yeah. Like the chases and the action. Yeah. Fantastic. The cheesy comedy. Yeah, the goofy comedy, you know. Yeah. It was really good, but there were parts that I just, I mean, you can't get around. Shia LaBeouf I thought was good. It was all right, yeah. It was pretty good. Nice addition to the cast. Well, Ashley wrote Indiana Jones premiere. Super cute and funny. Man, that Indy has good luck. That is true. That is true. Indy does have good luck. He survives a lot of things that I don't think I would survive. He does survive. For the whole movie, I kept being like, he's a goner. Of course. And then, bam, it's like he didn't even have a scratch. I'm like, man, that guy is... He's lucky. Guy gets out of everything, Eddie. Move me away. Eddie's got a look on his face of confusion a little bit. What's up? He doesn't really understand. I don't even...
and barely know Indiana Jones anything. Oh, people are so mad right now. So I went into it with, like, clean slate. Like, I didn't know anything. Clean slate? What? Were you still able to understand? Well, yeah, I mean, I really enjoyed the action-packedness portion of it. There you go. You know, it was good. That means my wife will enjoy it. She's never seen an Indiana Jones movie in her life. You know, it was entertaining. The fight scenes were great. Harrison Ford can kick some serious butt for being so old. Yeah, dude, how was Harrison Ford? He was good. He looked great. Definitely weathered, you know. Did he talk like this? No, he really didn't. You know what I love about Indiana Jones that I really noticed in this one? What? That's in all four of the movies. What? The sound effects when they punch. Yeah? When they punch and, like, get hit, there's a specific sound effect they have for it. Yeah. And it's great. I really enjoyed it. That's cool. I saw you react when the first one went, and I'm like. It's a very specific punch sound effect specifically for Indiana Jones. Yeah. Like if you go back and watch all the movies, you'll hear it. And when you watch this one, you'll hear it. And you go, oh, yeah, Indiana Jones fight. Sky, what did you think of it?
Well, first of all, I looked it up. It actually comes out on Thursday, I guess, because is this a holiday? Oh, yeah, yeah. It's a holiday weekend. Memorial something. Memorial something. Something, something. Yeah, I liked it. You know, I wasn't as hung up on this major plot point, you know. as eddie was because i'm not a traditionalist when it comes to these films like i just you know i'm just there for the ride you know and so i enjoyed it i mean it's kind of tough on the heels of seeing iron man because iron man was so good that i now kind of want everything to be on that level and it wasn't on that level but it was definitely enjoyable and if you like the indie flicks you know it's something you got to see yeah i'll see it for sure yeah When I tell you what's going on, though, it's going to affect you. It will. There's no doubt about it. Plus, you know me. You know. But I do want to see all the thrills and spills. You have to. And it reminded me a lot of, like, it was like a ride. It was like a Disneyland ride. Yeah. I'll enjoy that. P1 Jeremy's on the line. Yeah, right here. What's up? What's up, Jeremy? Hey, man.
I was wondering what was going on with Zep. Rickards was complaining about him Friday on the radio about how rude he is to him in the hallway. Uh-oh. Isn't Dave kind of a big dog at your guys' place? Absolutely. You mean Dave Rickards from Dave Shelley and Chainsaw? Yes, sir. Yeah, I was working a night shift, and you guys, you know, we don't get to replay. So I was listening to their show, and he was wondering who the hell the tall, quiet guy was in the hallway. It was so damn rude to him. Well, why? What happened? What did he say happened? You know, he'd probably be a better recaller of everything, but I believe he said something to Zeth, and Zeth either looked away or didn't even grunt or looked down or something and kind of wandered off. Zeth, what is your recollection? I have no recollection of that whatsoever. Well, of course not. It didn't matter at all to you, but it was a big deal to him, man. No, no, no, no. If I am to understand Zeth correctly, it sounds to me like Zeth is unaware that it happened. Like he didn't hear him or he didn't see him or something like that. Yeah, it could have been that Zeth, because knowing Zeth the way that I know Zeth...
If somebody had said hello to him, he definitely would have said hi back. Well, he would have mumbled it back. He would have mumbled it because he mumbles. He did, and Dave just didn't hear the mumbles. It's hard to hear. What is that? Well, I was going to say that I've heard there's been another DJ that commented to me that she thinks Zeth is really rude because she's tried to say hi, and he didn't respond. Let me explain. Maybe this is a thing with Zeth just being too quiet in the halls. Let me explain. Let me explain. I used to be very in my head. Oh, yeah. All the time. I was very in my head. Now, I'm not saying that Zeth is very in his head because I don't know if he is in his head. All I know is that, oh, yeah, that sounds familiar to me. Everybody, Sky. Definitely. Eddie. Yes. Everybody thought that I was rude. Oh, yeah. Everybody thought that I was rude.
And the reason that they thought that I was rude is because I was so in my head. I was so miserable all the time that in my all I was thinking about was I was thinking about stuff all the time, thinking, thinking, thinking. And I never heard. And I mean this genuinely. And a lot of people are going to hear this and go, well, that can't be true. And the only reason that you and I understand that you would think that that isn't true because you can't relate to it at all. However, there are others of you. that are listening right now that have heard this from so many people that you can't even you can't count them because so many people have thought that you were rude and you go you think in your head you said hi to me like you don't even know that someone said hi to you so totally i don't personally knowing that the way that i know him he's not a this is not what occurred somebody saying hi to zeth and him going I ain't saying anything back to them. Oh, yeah, no way. That just, I mean, that just, that isn't the deal because that's just not who he is. But, you know, I understand. I can see how that may happen. When we come back, we will play the audio of this big controversy. Mike Huckabee joking that Barack Obama get assassinated. What's that?
Or was assassinated or just got assassinated. You'll understand when you hear the clip. There's a noise that was made and he goes, oh, that was... You'll understand when we come back. We'll play that next. A lot of people ask me, Billy B. Williams, for all kinds of relationship advice. So, Mike Huckabee, who was my choice for president of the United States, and actually went pretty far. Yeah, he did surprisingly well. He did surprisingly well. He is out of the race now. The only guy left for the Republicans is... John McGain. And Mike Huckabee was at the NRA convention, National Rifle Association. And, well, take a listen. Cut one. And we darn sure would like for it to be less expensive. But the reality is, and I'm worried because, frankly, within the... That was Barack Obama. He just tripped off a chair. He's getting ready to speak, and somebody aimed a gun at him, and he dove for the floor.
The concern that I have is that there is a growing sense of... And I hear the crickets in the room when he made that joke. It's a joke that didn't go over. Hello? Who's this? Well, of course. This is Barbara. Barbara, what are you? Hi, Barbara. I'm a part-time Hillary supporter, full-time black woman. What's up, girl? And obviously what you have there is the conservative right-wing machine. as it were. And as a black woman, I can tell you this, Hillary Clinton would have never said anything like that ever. Well, why is that as a black woman? I don't get it. Well, see, that's just the point, Eddie. You see, as a black woman, as a black woman, I was very offended by what Mike Huckabee said because I believe it was racially motivated.
I believe that the only reason that Huckabee said that is because, oh, I get it, assassinate the black guy. Is that what it's about here? Okay. Assassinate the black guy is what it's about. I don't think that's what he said. And I think that that was, he tried to veil it, but I think we all get what's going on. No. Am I slurring right now? No, you're talking very loudly. Yes, very loud. Okay, but I'm not in my phone. You are, actually. Why are you shaking us? You just asked a question. That was the voice in my head. Well, anyway, I'm really a supporter of Hillary, and I think that she would never have said anything like that, and I think that you guys should take a closer look at HillaryClinton.com. Why would we do that? I mean, this isn't even relevant. This isn't relevant. Yeah, we're talking about Mike Huckabee and what he said about Barack Obama. Nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. That's right. What he said was terrible. The Republicans are straight up play a hater. No, they're not. They don't even know what that means. And they're bugging. No, they are bugging. You're a straight tripping boo. You're a straight tripping boo. No. You're a straight tripping boo. Come on, let's get into a jive fight. What? A jive fight? Yeah. A jive fight?
That's weird. I don't want to participate that. Oh, really? How would you like it, Eddie, if I pulled out my gat? Now you're scared. Now you're scared, you little trembler. You're threatening me. You're threatening me? You're trembling. I'll call 5-0 on you. 5-0, hang on a second. What are you doing? What is she doing? That's the police. Okay. Don't you be calling the police on me, mister. In some sort of dictionary? What? What are you doing? That's the stupidest thing ever. I was looking through my Snoop Dogg lyrics. Oh. Your Snoop Dogg? That's right. Can you read us some of your Snoop Dogg lyrics that you have right in front of you, obviously? Yes, I can. Okay. If you don't mind. I'd love to hear that. Yeah, the first one is, it says right here. It says, these booze be... Oh, no. No. She's asleep. Okay. Hello? Barbara? Barbara? Barbara? Hello? No. Hello? Hello? Who is this? Oh, okay. Oh, not again. You called us. I called who? It's the Mikey Show, Barbara. Ah, yes. Thank you for calling, guys. We were talking to you and then you fell asleep. Oh, right.
And I was right about to put my Glock on your dome and make your brains hang. Alright, gotta go. That was the weirdest Barbara call ever. She gets worse every time. Make your brains hang. What does that even mean? What is that even supposed to mean? I don't know. Eddie said the greatest random debate the other day. And I go, dude, we gotta talk about that on the air. What? Eddie. Remember your worst team, best team thing? Yeah. This is the best. Okay. Go ahead. Would you rather be the worst player on the best team or the best player on the worst team? Easy. What would you say, Seth? I would definitely pick the worst player on the best team. Yeah. It's kind of like now with the show. Wow. How about that? Eddie, what would you do? It's tough because you know me and I do not do losing well. I hate to lose. And so if I was the worst player on the best team, at least I would have the good feeling of being on a winning team. But I also would want to be as good as I could be and being the best player on the worst team, you still would have hoped that eventually your team will be better and they'll put people around you.
and that you'll hopefully lead them to victory. So that will give me the slight edge. I would probably be the best player on the worst team. But, yeah, it would be really tough, though. You'd go crazy, though, man. I would. You would yell at everyone. You'd be punching lockers every day. I'd be a really bad teammate. Really bad. I mean, you'd be miserable. Absolutely. But I would still be real good. I am much more familiar with being. the worst player on the best team all throughout life. Whenever I played sports, I was always terrible, but the teams that I played on were good. So I could say, oh yeah, I play for that team. And then maybe people wouldn't, you know, delve into it and say, oh, well, do you actually play? You know, that would be a terrible question to get. It'd be a really bad question because the answer is, well, no, I don't. Thank you for asking. Yes, but I'm on the team. Sky, what about you? Oh, I'd definitely be the worst player on the best team. Yeah. Yeah, because, you know, because you have the wins, you know, so you have a good feeling, and then you always have something to strive to. You know, you can always improve yourself and get better, but if you're the best already and everybody around you is sucking, it's out of your hands. It's out of your hands. Eddie, you don't agree. Well, I'm not saying I would ever be the worst player, but I'm saying if I had to pick. Eddie, go ahead.
I don't know any of this. What are you thinking, Eddie? Why aren't you buying that? I don't want to be on a winning team. You do want to be on a winning team. Well said. But you couldn't handle not ever playing and being the worst. That's why I would kill myself. You're as competitive as I am. That's why I'd kill myself, and I would eventually get on that field. I would eventually suit up, I'd put my pads on, my helmet, my eye black, and I would get out on that field, man. That's not the question. And I'd tackle some fools. She's full of it. What's up? Eddie, you don't buy it. Well, listen. I do not. I'm on Sky's page except for the part where I would eventually be good enough. I would never eventually be good enough. Yeah, that's not part of the equation that you're going to be eventually good enough. I would work towards it. That's not part of the equation. Your career, you're either going to be the worst or the best. I'm the worst. No way. You would never. And I could not handle wearing my championship ring and having people go, you were on that team? Like, who were you? You played? Well, no, I didn't. But I am on the team. Hey, I got a ring, sucker. P1. P.S. Veg? Is that correct? P.S. Veg. P.S. Veg? Yes, that is right. What does that mean?
Well, I used to watch Dragon Ball Z all the time, so it stands for... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You used to watch what? Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball Z? That is correct. What is that? It's a Japanese kind of fighting sort of thing. Isn't it kids? Chill? Yeah, it's kind of like a cartoon. Well, yeah. I used to watch it when I was nine. Okay. And where? On television? Yeah. Okay. And where on television was it located? Well, right now it's on Cartoon Network. No, no, no. Where was it located when you were a kid? When I was a kid? It was on a Mexican channel. Oh, wow. Nice. And they overdubbed it in Spanish? Yes. Wow. Hola. And so is P.S. Vague? Was that like your favorite character on the Japanese animated show? Yes, it was Saiyan Prince Vigia, so I shortened it up. Oh, I see. Well, listen, for all of you listening right now that remember this Mexican animated or Japanese animated overdubbed in Spanish from a Mexican channel TV show, for those of you that remember it, you're in luck. Wow. What were you calling to tell me? Which one would you be? Well, I'd rather be the best player on the worst team.
Why? Well, basically because if you're the best player on the worst team, that means that you have a stronger mentality and you're willing to put that extra effort to be the best and to raise up your team. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You would be building guys up. That's cool. Totally. That's cool. Thank you very much. Let's see. P1 Matches would like to comment. Eddie, you already know, right? I've got the topper. I'm ready for it. You're ready for what he says. Okay. P1 matches. Hey, so I got a big dilemma with this whole dilemma thing you got. Yep. If you're the best player on the worst team, then that's not much comparison. I mean, you're saying you're the best player on the worst team, so you're only comparing yourself to really horrible players. But if you're the worst player on the best team, you're still a really good player. be on that team. Here's the deal. In the bigs, that would be right, right? Here's the deal. What's the deal? Listen, there has been plenty of great players on bad teams, and they're always remembered. Oh, yeah. But nobody will remember the worst player on the best team. But that is supposing that being remembered is what's important. Sure, you want a legacy when you play. Yeah. I mean, to me, yeah, that's part of it. I just want a ring. How about this one? Oh, boy.
Mikey, this one's easy best player because you will get big offers from better teams. P1 Nightbeast. We're not talking about that. Well, this email is supposing that that's the important part. You're going to be the highest paid player on that team. You can be the team captain. When you're the worst player, Sky, you're not going to make any money. It's okay, Eddie. Money. I'm not all about money. Money. Money doesn't matter to me, Eddie. It was hard for her to get that out. It was hard for her to get that one out. It was hard for her to get that one out. That's right. Wow. Let's see. Mikey, definitely the best player on the worst team because you're going to get to the Pro Bowl and then your contract is up and you leave. It's P1 Thunder Guide. Why are we all assuming? We're playing football. Why are we all in the, you know? Like, I had a friend who was the best player on our crappy high school football team, and he was miserable, and the whole time he would consider leaving to going to better schools. But that one guy is going to get scouted from your team. He was frustrated every day, every day of practice, every day. But he's going to stand out, and he's going to go to a great college. He was angry. Maybe he needs to help his players and stop being so angry.
This one says there's no better way to improve than to be around better players. That's what I'm saying, Mike. But you're never going to, as far as I'm concerned, either you're the worst for your entire career or you're the best for your entire career. The best. You're not going to improve and become mediocre. Now, if we were talking Major League Baseball in this analogy, the worst player is still good, right? On the best team? Yeah, on the worst. Okay, the worst player. On the best team on a professional level is good. Would you rather be, I don't even know who it is on who's the best team. We'll say the Red Sox, the world champions. Whoever the worst player is, I don't know who the worst player is. Or would you rather be Jake Peavy? Would you rather be Jake Peavy? I would rather be the worst player on the Red Sox because that's what I'm used to. And that's what feels the most comfortable to me. That's a whole other question. Because they're the worst team right now. They are the worst team. But you know at least when I go out and pitch, I'm great. I'm great.
I'm going to go out there and have a great game. But the loss is out of your hands. Like, you do everything in your power to win. You're a great player. And everybody else around you is sucking it up for you. And ruining your stats. You're going to the All-Star game. You're getting the endorsements locally. You're giving all the money. You're the best. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why would you not want to be the best? Well, let's see. Playing on the team. Like, what's... What's the input? See, you ain't playing for the Red Sox. You ain't playing for the Red Sox. You're sitting on the bench. That's right. You're bench warm. Now, here's what you got to think, though. When you are playing for a professional sports team, there is something more at stake than just the paycheck because the paycheck is so big. For sure. You want to win. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You want to win. Absolutely. But, you know, to be irrelevant to me is almost. Worthless. I mean, are you irrelevant? Yes. Wait, but irrelevant to who? Everybody. You're the worst. You're irrelevant to your team because you don't play. You don't play. If you're not on that team, who cares? If Jake Peavy's not on the team, that's a big deal. Okay, now, if you take that same player, though, that's bad on that good team, and you take him somewhere else, he's going to be that. If he's the...
So he may be good somewhere else is what you're saying. It's possible. He may be good somewhere else, and he could start. But he's not. He's not going anywhere. But in our random debate, it's black and white. You don't get the in-betweens. You only get the two. You're staying on that team, and you're staying on the bench. You're either going to be the worst player on the Red Sox, or you're going to be Jake Peavy, the best player on the worst team. You'd be Julio Lugo. I would be the worst player on the Red Sox. You'd be Julio Lugo. I would rather be a part of something. that's going to go someplace and achieve great things. And I would love to contribute. And now, even if it's not on the field, I'm getting to be a part of it. I mean, so the supposition is, oh, what's the thing that we're in this for? We're in it for the dough. Okay, maybe that's the deal. That's cool. But I think my deal would be, well, I'm used to this.
Number one, first and foremost. And then after that, it would be, well, this is cool. We're going to the series, man. We're going to the World Series. Plus, if I'm the worst player, but I made it to the major league level, I'm good. It's not bad. Although you don't play. And you're still making good money, plus you still have, like, a private life. Whereas these big players, they don't, you know, they're celebrities. No reservations at Brigantine, stuff like that. They're being followed around by the paparazzi. The relationships are being scrutinized. I don't want that. P1 Renegade says it's all about being a follower or a leader. P1 Renegade. Are you a wolf or are you a sheep? I'm a wolf. I think it applies to life in general. That's right. Whoever just says that they're a wolf, they would probably want to be the best player on the worst team. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's how you apply your life. I mean, you could put it on a larger scale. Would you like to play bass like Geddy Lee and Rush, or do you want to be that guy that plays bass for Judas Priest? I mean, who even knows that guy's name? I see what you're saying. So, Geddy Lee, he's the best bass player ever.
He's a leader. The other guy is a follower. Now, here is my question for you. You got it. How do you know he's a leader? Geddy Lee? Yeah. I mean, you can just listen to any album. No, no, no. When I listen to any album, what I get from that is he's a great bass player. But Rush isn't the worst band. Well, that's true. Well, Barry Bonds. Let's look at Barry Bonds. Barry Bonds was not a leader. He was a jerk face, and he was on one of the worst teams, but he was the best player. But he was a total jerk. He was not a leader. Now, wait a minute. Renegade. Remember that idiot? He made the pros. Now, wait a minute. Now, Renegade. Renegade. What did you say? The wolf and the what? The wolf and the sheep. Okay, the wolf and the sheep. Okay. If you ask me, Barry Bonds was more of a wolf than a sheep. I mean, excuse me. He was more of a sheep than a wolf because he was great, but you're talking about leadership and being a leader? He was a lone wolf. Because you're great does not equal. He was like the rogue wolf. He was still, I mean, the guy's incredibly.
Well, that means that what you're defining wolf as is just talent. You're saying that a wolf is just talent, whereas I'm saying, no, a wolf is a leader, and he wasn't that. Gracias. Or as my mom would say, gracias a Dios. Gracias a Dios. Quick timeout. Guess what's coming up next? What? Something called the DCC. Oh, no. That's the Dumb Chick Challenge, and it's coming up next. I'm looking at some tough spots on our freeways right now. This morning, there's a new accident, southbound 5, just before the 78. A couple cars banged up here in the slow lane, so watch for so down there in Oceanside. A little farther south, you're going to hit some heavy commute traffic developing now out of La Costa for a slow one all the way down to Solana Beach. The south 15 stays pretty tough as well, coming out of Escondido off the 78, down the Via Rancho Parkway, and some slowing again off and on through Rancho Bernardo. The westbound 52, there's an accident near Mast Boulevard, causing some heavy traffic coming out of Santee. It's actually slow off the 125 north, with brake lights continuing as you make that left-hand turn up the hill to the top of the summit on the west 52. The west 8 hasn't been too bad this morning, but now it's a little bit tight from Jackson Drive, out to Lake Murray before it lets you go.
And coming out of the South Bay, both the 5805 northbound, I do some minor delays up to National City on both these freeways. 805 bunching up a bit through North Park, and now you're seeing another slowdown out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over the 52. On Friday, Ellen announced that she plans to marry her girlfriend, Portia De Rossi. It was game seven last night as Boston beat Cleveland behind Paul Pierce's 41 points. Some of the text messages that we're getting. Mikey, you can't get a nose job. We love you the way you are. We think you're already cats me out. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. He won rugby. They can never tell these days. We should talk about, let's talk about the Ellen thing. Okay. So Thursday, on Thursday, the California Supreme Court said that banning gay marriage in California is unconstitutional. What? That's right. 61% of Californians voted overwhelmingly that they wanted a ban on gay marriage. Boo. But... They overturned it. And Shawnee said that it'll take what? 30 days. 30 days and then people can get hitched if they are gay. Skye is really stoked about it. She believes in it. You don't like discrimination. And Ashley does as well. Yeah. Stoked. And so Ellen made the following announcement on her show. Where is it? Cut.
12. This is very exciting, I gotta say. Yesterday, if you haven't heard, the California Supreme Court overturned a ban on gay marriage. Now, for the first time, I am announcing I am getting married. Balling. You started balling, Ash? Balling. Like, I totally broke down. You did. Because Ellen teared up, and Portia was in the audience, and she was tearing up, and the whole audience went crazy, and I was on my couch, and I lost it. Yeah. Like an idiot. I just was bawling by myself. Sky, did you bawl? Well, I didn't see it, but I think that's very sweet. It's really emotional. 570-1053. Reaction, San Diego. Eddie looks confused. Eddie, are you confused? That's so weird. You had to watch it. I don't.
Eddie, if you saw it, you'd cry too. I don't think I would. You have to see it. You gotta see it. It's hard to describe it or just hear it. If you see it, just waterworks. She started tearing up, you know, and then I started to tear up, and then I saw Portia in the audience, and she was tearing up, and I lost it. Who cares? Come on. You don't know them. It's really touching, though. But she does, you know. She, like, watches that show all the time. I've been a huge fan of Ellen, like, even back when she first came out on her TV show. And I remember it was, like, a really big deal. And then the show got canceled. You feel the connection. It just sucked, you know. And now she's come so far. And she's killing it with the number one show. And then now she gets to get married. And she announced it on the show. And everyone was so happy for her. It was rad. I got some emails. What? What is so weird about that? I got some emails from people that were like super militant and wanted me to like go on the air and like get all militant about it. And I'm not all militant about it. You know, I'm just, I'm not. You know, you guys know my take. I believe that the act of homosexuality is a sin.
I don't believe that that sin is any worse than the sins I commit every other day. Every day, I'm sorry. Every other day. Man, do I wish that was a deal. You're good every third day. Yeah. I don't believe that it says there are many things that are, there are a few things that are talked about in the Bible that are said to be an abomination. That's one of them. But it doesn't, I don't, I just don't. I don't recall it saying this sin is worse than this sin. In fact, I do know of a place in the Bible where it says that when we get judged, those sins are, you know, he's not going to see one as more than the other. And so it's kind of hard for me to be like, oh, you're, you know, I think that the reason that it's a bigger deal, though, is because it's one that we see readily. The Bible says a lot of things are not are something that he doesn't want for us. Like one of the things that he doesn't want for us, he lays it all out. There's like there's this whole section on what we're supposed to do sexually and what we're not supposed to do sexually. One of the things that I'm not supposed to do sexually is have sex before I get married. I did. So if that were something that were a political issue.
I'm not comfortable, Mikey, I'm not comfortable making something that is in my world considered a sin, something that is like legislated and made an issue of that. It makes that makes me uncomfortable to, you know, to say we're going to put it on the books that this sin is legal in the state of California for me. Now, I totally get where you guys are coming from. You know, your take on it is, well, it's discrimination and people should be able to do it. And OK, you know, that's what makes it America that we get to have a different, you know, take on it. The thing that kind of gets weird for me is to hear other Christians sort of tripping out on it and making it such a huge thing, you know, freaking out, you know, and I kind of go, hey, listen. If God's making that your calling, okay. It's just trippy because you don't hear God making incest a calling with somebody. Where somebody jumps up and down and goes, this is my thing and I'm just going to snuff this out in America and in California and blah, blah, blah. That'd be cool too. Why don't you do that? Snuff that out while you're at it. But why are you hopping up and down about homosexuality? You're hopping up and down. Freaking out.
That's what kind of trips me out about the whole thing. I don't agree with homosexual marriage, but I'm not flipping out about it, man. That's not what's on my heart to do. But I get it, man. I get where she certainly seems very happy about it. Ellen seems very, very happy about it. I think we have another clip about it, too. 570-1053. Our text, 35253. And before you email me or start to send the I don't want to hear your Christian take on it, I really struggled with this for a long time. And I finally decided, well, that's my take. That's who you are. That's just who I am. You know, I can't give you another take. And you know what I mean? Totally. Like I can only give you my take. So a bunch of people, phone lines are blowing up. P1 Brian. How you doing, Mikey? What's up, dude? I'm just wondering why they can't come up with a different name for it. Just something all together. A different name besides marriage? Yeah, just call it something different. They don't want that. Well, and sir, why do you think it needs a different name? It just seems like a different distinction. You know, they're all up in arms about, you know, what marriage stands for. So come up with something different, have it stand for...
You know, lesbian or gay marriage. I don't know. Well, I respectfully disagree. I believe that what the homosexual community wants is for it to be exactly. Yes. You know, and that would defeat the purpose. They want it to be exactly. They want to be the same as everybody else. Marriage is marriage. And come with the same thing that marriage comes with. Tax breaks. Everything that marriage, everything that comes with marriage, including arguments. Eddie, what do you think? You know, I've always, my take on homosexuality has always been the same. It doesn't affect me. You know, if people want to go and do that, that's fine by me. It doesn't affect my life. You know, I could care less what people do. You know, it's not really what I believe in. I don't participate in it, and it's not for me. Eddie is going on record as saying he does not participate. I know it's a shock. It's shocking. It's shocking for you to say that. It's a time in camp, but I will. Eddie, the onion. The onion. Magazine and newspaper just put out an article on you from this breaking news story. This is shocking. Right. It says, Eddie, semi-colon, I don't participate. Yeah. It is a fact. You do not participate. But, you know, if that's what people want to do, that's what people want to do. I don't go into their house and tell them how to bank. I don't go in their house and tell them how to, you know.
Cook their food. You know, that's just that's how you live. And going with what Eddie's saying, it's like some people believe that if homosexuals are allowed to get married, that it's like going to diminish your heterosexual marriage. And no, as long as you're taking care of your own business in your own home, it doesn't matter what other people are doing. I don't think that it diminishes my marriage with Rebecca. I do believe that it diminishes the institution of marriage because I believe that the institution of marriage. was a biblical concept that came from the Bible and that God joined a guy and a girl together. Well, then following that logic, would you say that like non God believing people diminish, you know, marriage because I got married and I don't really have a religious affiliation. So so marriage to me means nothing. It has nothing to do with religion. And that and that's cool because that's. Like it's cool for you to have that take because that's your, you know what I mean? The only, and I do not think, I think that you did what God intended you to do. Okay. You married a man. Okay. Even though we're not believers. Yeah, totally. Okay. I believe that you see what we're having the discussion about is homosexual marriage. Right. And you didn't do a homosexual marriage. Now, even if you had, let's say when you got married years ago, you married a chick.
That doesn't, that doesn't, and this is what I got to be real clear about. That doesn't mean, that doesn't mean that I would ever look at you and be like, Ooh, you bad person ever. Cause bottom line is what about me? What about my stuff? It always creeps me out when I see, you know, anybody fanatically, you know, hating on anybody. Yeah. You know, in the name of God. Because it's the sole opposite of what God would want. Yeah. You know, so it just creeps me out. You know, God loves homosexuals. God does not love homosexual activity. You know, and I'm just telling you. Listen, I believe that Bible. That's my owner's manual. And so if I didn't like a homosexual, it would be the same as me going, I don't like another person that does some kind of sin that I do. Somebody that lied. Yeah. Somebody that, you know. Swore. It's sin. It's sin. And, you know, listen. And I may get corrected on this, and I'm open to.
You know, listen, I'm in my walk. I'm learning stuff every day, and I don't know. That's the way I see it today, May 19th, 08. Let's see. P1 Ashley. Hi. I was raised Christian, so I understand where you're coming from, Mike. However, like, no one's supposed to judge anyone except God, so these people that are spouting all these hateful words really have no place because... When it comes down to it, when we meet our maker, like, he decides everything. Everything that we've done in our life has nothing to do with anyone else but him. So I totally think that everyone should do what they want to do. Hey, Ashley, I just want to make sure with you. I just want to double check with you. You don't, I hope, anyway, that you don't feel like I'm judging anybody, do you? No, no, no, not at all. I mean, the fact that you said you're a sinner yourself.
Like, you're being honest, that shows, you know, that you are not placing judgment on anyone. Because if the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin, it also says, you know, having sex before you marry, like you said, and adultery, that's sin as well. And there are these people that are so hateful, yet they go home and they disobey the Bible as well. No one's perfect. And some Republican, you know, politicians, they get caught, like, having affairs with... with men, men like teenage boys. It's like, you can't, I just think people pass judgment and when it comes down to it, the only person that can judge you is God. And also, since I'm a woman of color, I think that it's a civil right, which is why I think I'm so for gay marriage. And the institution of marriage today really isn't as sacred as we all like to think with 50% of people getting divorced. Well, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Let me stop you there. Okay. Because people make mistakes doesn't mean the institution is flawed. The institution is fantastic. People mess it up. Just like Christianity is beautiful, people mess it up. I think a lot of people are wary towards religions because there are people who claim to be a certain religion and the way that they present it is completely wrong from what.
the word is trying to say agreed and i just like really just live your life and try to be a good person and don't hurt anyone and god loves everyone and he will accept all of his children so i i just think that the people who are just so hateful really just need to step back and maybe refresh their memory because they have no say over anyone else. Ashley, I appreciate the phone call. And I think it's important to kind of make a distinction between the haters and the opinioners. I hope that I've made it clear that I'm in the opinioners category. I got real strong opinions about it, but I don't hate anybody. And I don't dislike anybody. Mikey, if rapists, murderers, and child abusers can get married, why can't homosexuals? That supposes that homosexuals are in the same category as rapists, murderers, and child abusers, which I don't think they are in the first place. I think that's unfair. I don't know if that's what they're saying, that they're in the same category, but if we let criminals get married, why are we going to say to good citizens just because they happen to be of the same gender?
Because that's exactly what it is. That's the problem. You know, the two seem very different to me. Oh, they're way different. But they're saying if you're going to let the bottom of the barrel get married, why don't you let good normal people get married? I can't articulate this thought 100%, but I know that here's what's in there when I get asked the question, when the question hits me. The thing that's in there swimming around that I can't quite put into the exact words is, it's kind of like... Well, I know my kids are going to drink anyway, so I'm going to buy them beer. Just because something is happening doesn't make it right, I think is what my thought is. Like, just because something is happening doesn't make it right. I don't know. I got a brew on it. I think I'm there, but I'm not 100%. 35253 is our text number. Want to read our thoughts on stuff? Go to MikeyShow.com. Type in the cute word blogs and check it out. Ashley passes gas in her sleep. And we have a song that sort of talks about how she does that. It's called The Wind Beneath Your Sheets. And it's a good one. It's very touching. Very, very touching. Text 35253. Back in the 1800s, Rocky Mountain miners celebrated with get-togethers called banquets or beer. Welcome back. It is 8.06. Mike Huckabee is now apologizing for his assassination joke about Barack Obama. Hockey. Uh-oh. Hockey. Hockey. Professional hockey? I'm going to give a hockey. You're going to talk about professional hockey? No, you are not. Why? We're getting to the finals. I thought it was interesting. Okay. The Penguins, they beat Philadelphia to move into the NHL finals. They're going to play the winner of the Dallas Detroit Series. There's a team called the Penguins? Pittsburgh. In the NHL. Yeah. Didn't even know that. But I don't know that much about hockey. That's hockey. Okay? Hockey. There it is. Eddie, I don't follow that sport. I don't either. You don't? No, it's not for me. It's not for you? Uh-uh. But you reported on it. I get a lot of emails. Yeah, yeah, yeah. People want you to. People want you to.
Wait a minute, dude. You don't know these. Hey, Matt, we're in the hockey school. Wait a minute. You're telling me Mushmouth from Fat Albert wrote you an email. That's what it sounds like. All right. Maybe he's into hockey. Guy's into hockey. That's all I hear. Sky, do you have a question? She's going to sneeze. She's going to sneeze. Oh, forget. God bless you. See, now she won't. Mike. I know it. I know it. You ruined it. It was almost there. I'm a sneeze robber. It was almost there. I'm a sneeze robber. You just robbed my sneeze. P1 Allison is on the line. Hey, Mike, what's up? What's up? All right, well, first of all, I want to say that I love you guys. I love you guys all the time. You always hear that. But I do want to let you know I'm a lesbian. I was born a lesbian, and honestly, I was really offended. I know it's your opinion, and you totally have the right to voice it, but do you realize that for me as a lesbian, I hear this stuff every day. I hear that it's a sin and that, you know, whatever. Every single day, sorry, my voice is like cracking. And it sucks to be, like, turning on my favorite rock show, losing my favorite show, which is usually, you know, stuff I can get into, and just be like, wow, dude. And I did feel judged. You weren't doing it in a bad way, you know, at all. You were just voicing your opinion. But it's just like, damn, man. And, like, you were saying specifically about, you know, how God likes or loves gay people but not the gay ass. And it's just, like, you were kind of speaking for God. And I find that a lot of times, you know, especially with Christians, they find themselves.
talking for God. And it's like, you know, you partly said part of it was like, you know, you're not judging and God will judge, which I totally agree with. But at the same time, you are, you know, you're, you're kind of speaking for God in that way. I think that, I think that you bring up some really interesting points. Now, one thing for sure that I can say that I've read with my own two eyes is that he hates The act. OK, now, as far as hating you, you're right, I suppose. And I make my assumption that he doesn't hate you. The truth is, maybe he does hate you. I don't know. No, I mean, honestly, I don't think that I'm out on a limb here, but I think he loves you. Well, thank you. I think he loves you. Actually, I know he loves you. He loves you. He does love you. And here's the deal, Allison. If you and I met and you and I got along, you and I could be friends. As much of friends as I felt safe with you. Because that's how I am with every friend that I have. In order for me to be friends with somebody, I have to feel safe. Comes from my junk from childhood. And so I have to feel safe. And as long as I did, you and I would be friends. Yeah. So there is no.
judgment in terms of, and I just, I want to get this whole thing out and then we can talk about it, but I just got to get this whole thought out. In terms of what the Bible says, the Bible says that the act of homosexuality, the physical act of homosexual sex is an abomination and that it's sin. Now, in saying that, I do not then put a comma and go, therefore, comma, I don't like you. I don't do that. I'm stating that from my point of view, the Bible's my owner's manual. And so I do the best that I can to adhere to his rules. He's got rules and I just try to follow his rules. That's my deal. But I do not, I don't have anything to say about you because the truth is I'm a sinner too.
Actually, I wanted to bring up your point really quickly about your saying you did have sex before marriage. And so therefore that was a sin. And you can't compare which is worse or whatever. That's God's job or whatever. But would you put a ban on or make it illegal for anybody to have sex before marriage? No. But let me tell you this. If the people of California voted by 61% to do that, then... I would think that it would be unfair if that were then turned over. If you said to 61% of Californians, I know that this is what you want, but we're overturning that. Because it's not right. Because it's taking away, it's like human civil rights. And I understand, Allison, I understand and I totally get that your opinion is that it isn't right to do that. And, and, um, and I can hear in your voice, you know, it's like the, the guy that called was saying, you know, why can't you find another name? You know, it's a whole separate, uh, separate but equal. There's no such thing as that, you know, there are so many different little legal parts of marriage. And, you know, nowadays so many people that get married don't have anything to do with religion anymore, you know? And, and it's just like, um, Hey, Alison, I, you know, I just want to check in with you before we,
Get off the phone with each other. Okay. Do you feel like I'm judging you? To be very honest, I did when I was hearing you say, you know, that it's a sin and that it's wrong and you don't agree with it. And, you know, certain parts, I still do. You know, that's your opinion. No, no, no, no. That's, I mean, honestly, Allison, that's not, that part of it is not, it is my opinion, but it's my opinion based on what I read. Like, here's the other thing that I believe. I believe that Jesus Christ walked on water. And so I believe that. Now, I could get a lot of people call me that do not walk on water going, what is up with you, dude? I know for a fact that you can't walk on water. I went swimming this weekend and I sank. Yeah, bro, what's up with you, Mikey, with this? I know that, you know what I mean, Allison? So I'm just telling you, I'm telling you what the Bible says and that I follow that. What I'm not telling you is that, I don't like you or that you're a bad, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You were good at saying that and getting that across. It's just, I don't know, I just want to let you know how I felt about it, too. All right, thank you. I appreciate your phone call. Let's see. P1 Jordan. How you doing, man? What's up, man? I was just thinking that, like, the Bible itself was kind of written by man, so it's through some passing judgment. The Bible was actually inspired by the Holy Spirit. Yeah, by...
13 different books. 66 books. No, he said searching different books. Oh, I thought you said 13. Oh. Searching different books? Is that what he said? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, the Bible is not just the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Bible is a lot of different texts that were put together over a very long period of time. Yeah, but the older version is like King James' version that you read now in the specialization community. Not true, sir. Not true. Not true. King James was the first. It came from something called the Bishop's Bible. I don't want to get into Bible school. Honestly, I don't. I don't want to get into Bible school, but the King James Version was the first one to be done in English. Ashley looks like she's ready to fall asleep, which is my cue, that this is getting boring, and I don't want it to be boring. We could sit here and debate Bible stuff all day. Dumb cheek challenge. It has Sweetwater Road completely shut down here in both directions. Just east of Plaza. Bonita Center. So use so much caution there and use your best alternate if you can to get out of that area. But right now it's completely shut down as they investigate the fatality crash. As you come up out of the South Bay, 805-5 northbound. Both these freeways looking fine through National City. 805 quite heavy, though, coming out of Mission Valley up the hill to Mesa College and then backs up again out of Kearney Mesa. There's an accident near Governor Drive that's wrapping up that caused a lot of that slowdown there as well.
The westbound 94 King Freeway hasn't been too bad this morning. A little slow from 28th Street down to downtown. Your 8-ride westbound now backing up from Fairmount and past a couple of crashes near the queue here this morning. Let you go at Mission Center Road. Southbound side of the 15, quite heavy still out of Escondido off the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. Reduced speeds again through Rancho Bernardo. And the coaster ride, south 5, still finding some brake lights around an accident in the snow lane before the 78 in Oceanside. And then backs up again out of La Costa. All the way to Solana Beach. Dan Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. All I have to do when I talk about Johnsonville Brats is say, go to the Mikey Show website. Look at the pictures from the P1 sticker strike. And look at the line of people that were lined up for Johnsonville brats. Did you notice that after the whole sticker strike was over, people were still waiting in line? Because there were still some on the grill. They were giving out the Johnsonville brats, and they were not leaving until all of those Johnsonville brats were eaten. I think Blunder had 15. I'm not kidding. It was unbelievable. I'm really stoked that if people had never had a Johnsonville brat before, they got one.
They got to try one. And they are crazy good. So packed full of flavors. So delicious. And what a weekend coming up, guys. This is Memorial Weekend. When you think about Memorial Day, you think of basically what? Grilling. Grilling. Barbecue. Bingo, bingo, bingo, Mike. Bingo. Go to your local grocery store. I don't care what it is. Stater Brothers, Vaughn's, Ralph's. You really do not care? I don't care. Whatever you want to do. It's like the games. Okay, so if I go there, you're saying you will not make a judgment. I won't judge you. Wait, wait, wait. What if I went to, like, what if I went to Market? What's that place called, Sky? Henry's? No. Market. Major Market? What if I went to Major Market? I may judge you a little. You may judge me. I may judge you a little. You may judge me. I've never even heard of that. Come on. I don't even know what that is. It's like the gays, he says. Mike, you probably shouldn't have pointed it out. I think we were just trying to like it. Mike, it's like the gays. Thank you. I love the Johnsonville brats. Honestly, they're the best thing you can put on your grill. Do it up this Memorial Day. Go grocery shopping. Go back to that fresh meat section. Pick up some Johnsonville brats. They're delicious. Casting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. That's so funny. It deserves me to throw up.
San Diego's Rocky. Now some you might have missed. Guy, are you ready? Your question is, in what sport is offsides not a penalty? Okay. Is it A, basketball, B, hockey, or C, football? Mike, I'll take the one without African-Americans. Chantel, I don't know if you know this. Sky has a thing for black guys. I love them, in fact. Yes, I do. I have a thing for handsome men. Handsome, I mean black. It's hard to think when all you've got running through your head is black guys. I call it a blackout. That's right. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Eddie just... Eddie just wheeled Sky in her chair out of the studio and down the hall. walked back into the studio and said, problem solved, guys. It is 8.23. On Friday, Ellen announced she plans to marry her girlfriend, Portia DeRossi. That's Seth. I was okay with that. Go ahead, Eddie. Casey Kane got voted in and then won the NASCAR All-Star Challenge. I have a question, Eddie. Legitimate question. Listen, I have a legitimate question. Oh, great.
Well, there went my legitimate question. Oh, I wanted to know it. My legitimate question was going to be, how long do you think Skye will actually stay in the hallway before she comes back in and yells at you? I was chatting. She wouldn't yell at me. With friends. Why would I yell at you? Before pushing you out of the studio in your chair. Oh, it was a lot of fun until he slammed me into the wall. Well, that was your own driving. Steering wheel, man. You're a bad driver. You're a bad driver. Did Zed do my news tease? Yep. Cool. Really good. Did he? Oh, you know what I never talked about? Why didn't he just wink at me? I never gave the explanation of Britney Spears and Mel Gibson vacationing in Costa Rica together. Crazy, man. That's weird. Apparently. Yes, Eddie, it is a little. Well, when Sky first told me, I was like, well, I thought he was married. Why are they, like, you know, hooking up? No. I don't think they're hooking up. No, they're just pals. They're friends. They're neighbors in Malibu. She's a loud typer. I don't know what to tell you. Sorry. Problems. Go ahead. Go ahead. We're having problems. So basically... Ashley is fixing the transmitter remotely. Oh, wow. Good job, kid. Very good. 8, 15, 16, 23, 30. Ashley is working right now on getting the transmitter that is not broken fixed. You can do this. Nice. Come on, my brother. Come on, Ash. You guys, just give me a few more seconds here.
I almost got it. Hand me that bottle cap. Does anybody have any rubber band, twine, anything? Shoelace. Give me that shoelace. We're good. Take it off. Give me that shoelace. Get it, Sean. You don't have shoelaces. Oh, no. So anyway, so back in the day when Brittany was having all her problems, it was rumored that she was spending time with Mel Gibson and that he was kind of like mentoring her, you know, trying to help her through her problems. But that was never confirmed. And like Mikey was mentioning earlier, we don't report on rumors. But it is. A fact that right now, Brittany, her father, her agent, Mel Gibson, and his wife are all vacationing together in Costa Rica. They're spending time together. And some very unflattering pictures of Brittany are making the rounds. So what are they doing? Shooting pictures of the telephoto lens from the ocean? I guess. I don't know. I mean, because I've seen with Brittany in the past.
When she's, like, even on the beach, like, the paparazzi will just surround her, and she's fine. She just, like, sits there and acts like nothing's going on. But it's been really odd. You know, there are definitely pregnancy rumors swirling, but she definitely has some belliness going on. You go, girl. You eat those Cheetos, it's fine. Now, what do you mean belliness? Like, is she pregnant? I shouldn't have said that. That means... No, I mean, we don't know. Obviously, we don't know. She hasn't made any sort of statement. But, you know, we see her working out all the time. And it's very interesting because if you go to any of the websites, the TMZs, the Perez Hiltons, any of them, there are pictures. And she's got some stuff going on because she's in her bikini. She's driving an ATV. There's like rolls. She's driving an ATV. Yeah. Leave her alone. I'm sorry. I'm reporting facts. Let's do this. It's about healing. I don't need this. You do need this. You want to go outside the hall again? Kind of. The Dumb Chick Challenge. It's the way the Dumb Chick Challenge works. What we do is we take Sky, Ashley, and Boston Rob, and we ask them questions that are basically about normal stuff, but they have a hard time with them.
They're like the Iron Chefs. They're the dumb chicks. What? And they have to get the five points. They can pick a one, two, or three point question. Ones are easy. Fives are hard. Excuse me. Threes are hard. First person to five points wins. And you just have to guess who will do it first. Takes time. It does take a little time. P1 Moose or Mouse. Is it Moose or Mouse? Moose. Moose. Who are you going to take? I will choose Robert, please. Look at you. Bad move. Hang on the line. Hang on the line. P1 T-Rex. Hey, what's happening? Not too much. Who do you want? I'll take the lovely Skye. What up, T-Rex? Hang on the line. Love him. P1 Oceanside? You get Ashley. All right. Oh. Eddie, what kind of prize do we have today? We have a pay-per-view, free pay-per-view. You see the UFC this week. Who's fighting?
BJ Penn versus Sean Shirk. The Muscle Shark. Does that sound like a good one? The Muscle Shark. Mark the Shark. He used to be on Rock 105 at midnight. Oh, that's right. I remember that guy. The Muscle Shark. Gotcha. So he wears a muscle shirt. Yeah. Huh, that's weird. The worst nickname ever. It really is. That is a terrible nickname. It really is. Really awful. So bad. Are you going to be into this particular one? I'm into everyone. You get them all. Yes. You like them all. Seen everyone since one. That's all calm down. Are you really? Oh, my goodness. There was a time that it wasn't on TV for a while. You went to the matches in Japan. I fought at them. You fought at them. I missed them so much. That's right. Impressive. 570-1053 is the phone number. The fun thing to do as we play the Dumb Chick Challenge, do you know the answers? As you're listening in your car, do you know the answers? These are educated people, Mike. They're not all easy. I don't know any of this. My wife says she rarely gets them. What? There's some hard ones. That's what she says. I know it. I know it. Well, and everybody has their own, like, area of expertise, you know? So if you go outside of that, then it's tough. What is yours? Fun stuff. Skies is fun stuff. That category is not usually on the DCC. Yeah, that's why it's hard, Mike. All right, let's begin. Eddie, who do I start with? I believe it is Ashley's turn to start.
Ashley, what do you want? A one, two, or three point? Uh-oh. Oh, no. What's up? Oh, no is correct, man. You're due, Ash. The bangs are hanging in the eyes. I'm feeling it for you. Please, you can do this. Ash, what do you want? Ash, can you hear me? Can you hear me? What do you want? A one, two, or three point question? She's looking at Eddie for help. Give me one, please. A one? Yay. Might work out for her. Good job. Ashley, what does DVR stand for? Okay, she's got her pen hanging out of her nose. What is that? I don't know. Okay, that's ridiculous. Hey! Ash, what does DVR stand for? R is for sure recorder. D is probably... Oh, no, no. Digital video recorder. You are correct. See? Fantastic. She's on the board. Ashley's on the board. Intimidation. Intimidation. That's right. Be scared.
She's going to win today. Yep, I feel it. Yep. Oh. Boston Rob. Let's go three. Oh, look at you. You are a tough guy. You're a clown. You're a clown. Rob. Yeah. In 1973, which company produced the first successful computer arcade game, Pong? Oh. Wasn't he the guy in 16 Candles that went married? No, that's Long Duck. Oh, oh. The donger. My mistake? Yeah, right. It was not the ponger? No. Okay. No, that's your mistake. Okay, that's my mistake. Yes, you made a mistake. Come on, Rob. Is it Atari? That is correct, Rob. Oh, really? Yeah, Ashley, you do that, right? It's fun stuff. Everybody knew that. I did. Good point. For the benefit of new listeners, Sky has a system. The system is two points, two points, one point. It's very effective. Well, I mean, I would take a three if I got an easy question like Rob got, but the next question is probably about, like, history or something stupid. Skye. Oh, gosh. Come on. I'm going to take a two-pointer, Mike. A two-pointer. Wow. Really bad. Skye, luckily for you, it's a fun one. Oh, fun times. My expertise. Skye. Yeah. When 24 years old.
John Singleton was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Director for the 1991 season. He became both the youngest film director and the first black director. Key word there, Sky. I'm taking notes. I just know you like black guys. This is like one of those questions. A train leaves the station at... Oh, boy. Okay, so we got 1991. Yes. He was 24 years old, and he's African-American. And his name is John Singleton. Was it Best Director, you said? Read it again. Wait, what's going on? I'm trying to figure it out, dude. When he was 24 years old, John Singleton was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Director for the 1991 movie season. He became both the youngest film director and the first black director ever nominated for a directing Oscar. Nice. What film did he direct? 1991. Good boy, squad. It's a hard one. Good boy. Skye's got the pen to the mouth. Put it up your nose. It helps. Okay, Skye put it up her nose. She put it up her nose. It's not helping. No, it's not helping me. How do you not know this? Skye is thinking, oh, wow. 91 is bad. Yeah, because Skye says sometimes, I wasn't around then. Don't take that from him, Skye. I like the, oh, no. Skye's thinking she's going to take an educated guess.
Feeling it. Was it Blackula? Black woman movies? I don't know why. I'm leaning. Oh, but then I'm going to say this. Everyone's going to laugh at me. Oh, no. You are correct. Get ready to laugh. Lando Calrissian. I think it was waiting to exhale. Was it Benson? I'm going Malcolm X. That is incorrect, Sky. That's incorrect. What is it? Roots. No, it was not Roots. Dang it. Sky was Boys in the Hood. That was my other one. But then I was like, that wasn't nominated for anything. It was. It was. I never saw that movie. Never saw Boys in the Hood. Was it good? I've never seen it either. Ashley, would you like a one-point question?
A two-point question or a three-point question? The threes are easy. You're already on the board, kid. You only need four more points, and you win for P1 Oceanside. Oh, look at her. She looks like she's going to throw up the pressure. She looks like she's going to throw up the pressure. Give me a two. A two-point question. Look at this. You can tie the game. Ashley, get that pen out of your nostril. It doesn't help you focus. Let me just do my thing. Please put that in a box and send it to Sean. I just want to see the look on his face when he gets it in the mail. I just want to see the look on his face. Look at his face! All right, Ash. What's the name of the chain of islands located between the Straits of Florida and the Florida Bay? Oh, lookit, she's smiling. She thinks she might. She's about to take her headphones off, though, because I think they're going to start distracting me. Don't overthink it. So don't overthink it? Okay, so then it's either the Caribbean or the Bahamas. I need your final answer, Ash. Hey, cool. So it's neither of the two. Maybe you should listen to the question again. Hold on. You want to listen to the question again. What's the name of the chain of islands located between the Straits of Florida and the Florida Bay? Ashley's looking...
Oh, God. Actually, that is incorrect. It is not. Between Florida and the Bahamas. How do you find your way home every day? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. How do you find your way home every day? Between Florida and Florida. Right there. Hawaii, Mike. Hawaii. Oh, no. Take your license. That's the first part of the answer. Please help this woman. It's the Florida Keys, Ashley. Hawaii? You said Hawaii. Ashley. What are you going to do, tough guy? I'm not mad at her. I'm mad at our school system. They really let her down. Don't be mad at our school system. I dropped out, okay? But you dropped out with honors. You were in college. How did you get to college? All right, next question. Oh, get over it, right? Oh, yeah. Boston Rob. Oh, my God. What will you do? What, are you going to ask him a question about beer next? I don't, listen. Same as it comes. Hater. You're going to ask him about neck tattoos? Okay. About short things?
Rob, I'm sorry. That was unnecessary. That was unnecessary. Yeah, hilarious. Where are my images? About having no money? No, that's just... Boston Rob, what do you want? What does everybody have? I know I got three. What does Sky have? Zero. Really? Wow. And Ashley's got one. I'm going to take a one-point. You want a one-point question? I want a guy to go again. I love this guy. Wow. He's so cruel. He's so cruel. That is amazing. You're my favorite. Between Hawaii and whatever her last answer was, Malcolm X, I got to hear some more questions of these two. Shut up. You're so much better. I'm the best. You're dumb. Rob, what is measured by the Richter scale? Earthquakes. That is correct, Rob. That is correct. I'm one point away and Sky has to go again. That's so cruel. That's so cruel to rub it in. Oh, man. Sky, do not let that kid get in your kitchen. Too late. It's in her head. Sky, don't read into it. I'm going to take a one point. Analyze that stuff. You're terrible at one point. It's going to be more embarrassing. Sky, your one point question is.
When a fracture occurs and the bone breaks the skin, it is known as what type of fracture? Oh, Skye just got a look on her face. Oh, Rob. That's not Rob. That's cruel. That's cruel. Well, I've only heard of one kind of fracture, but I don't really know what it means. So I'm going to answer compound. That is correct, Skye. So that's what it means that the bone pokes down in the skin. When it breaks completely. When it breaks completely. That's horrendous. That was very good, Sky. Thank you, Ashley. Well done. Well done. Learn something that's good. Get that out of your nose, Ash. Get it out of your nose. It helps me focus. A one, a two, or... A three. A three. Are you crazy? Hawaii. Just answer that for every question. Give me a twee, please. A three? A three? She wants a three? No. We don't care, Mike. It sounded like she said three. Actually, she wants a twee. Me and Eddie, we don't care. I'm not part of your team. Eddie, put a pen up your nose, too, because we've got to roll together on this one. No, don't do this. Eddie, don't do that. Don't do that. She said two. This is the stupidest show ever.
Mike, that's a huge head. Mike has a huge nostril. What do you want from me? Look at that thing up his nose. How does that not hurt? Give her a twee. It's like a bat up his nose. It's like I put a Lincoln log in there. A table leg. Now you know why I need a nose job. It fit. Ashley, this is a hard question. Oh, it's a twee. It's a twee, so it's hard. What gland has the primary function of controlling the body's growth? Oh, I know glands. Yes, she does. I know glands. Just a sweat. She does. Sweat glands. She does. The sweat glands. I know glands. No, you don't. She's going to get this. I watched that show on MTV making the gland. Give it to me one more time. Got the pen in the nose, and I'm going to take the headphones off. What gland has the primary function of controlling the body's growth? Oh, she's doing her hand signal like, here it is, here it is, here it is, here it is. Got the headphones off. She's hopping around in there. She thinks she knows. She's going to come back and say, she's going to say Hawaii. Kansas. Pituitary gland? Yes, Ashley.
That's three-point questions. She is an idiot savant. That is awesome. Apparently. We have a tie game, everybody. We have a tie game, Eddie. Four to four. It's the most exciting DCC ever. It's unbelievable. What's your score? Wait, wait. Ashley has four. Riz has four. Sky has one. Sky's round. All right. If I get this wrong, I'm not even going to be sad because you get to go against Sky. This is crazy. I love when you go. All right, Rob. I listen for that. I listen for that. Rob. Just give me a one. Make it tough, though. Your one-point question is... What was the name of the shoe company that made the all-star Chuck Taylor shoe? Oh, easy. Converse. That is correct. That is correct. He got Hawaii. Austin Robb takes the win. Nice job. He won Moose.
He won for you. Back in the saddle. That's right. You get to watch the UFC this weekend. Hang on, okay? Thanks, bro. Well done. I got to read you this email when we come back. And let me tell you something. When Eddie handed me this email this morning, I was like, this is great. We were kind of talking about this exact thing over the weekend. Unfortunately, we had a bad fatality accident this morning down by Plaza Bonita. It's got Sweetwater Road shut down just east of Plaza Bonita Center. You're going to find traffic control down there getting you around there as best they can. West 94, you're good to go from the East County all the way to downtown. That's a good-looking freeway. Your West 8 ride is also pretty much clear into Mission Valley. It's a little bit slower around Hotel Circle because of an earlier accident there. The westbound 52, a little bit of tight rides still coming off the 125. And then again through San Clemente Canyon, passing the 805 freeway, heading toward the 5. Heading south on the 15. That is still kind of tough out of Escondido from Auto Parkway.

What a useless phrase. We don't need to move any mountains. Mountains should stay put. In fact, we should probably be working together to not move mountains. Let's think of some better phrases. Ones that don't imply that being successful means devastating the landscape. How about something like together we can move mountains of trash that have piled up near the old docks. Something you may have missed the This morning on the mic. Eddie said the greatest random debate the other day, and I go, dude, we got to talk about that on the air. Would you rather be the worst player on the best team or the best player on the worst team? Easy. What would you say, Seth? I would definitely pick the worst player on the best team. It's kind of like now with the show. The Mikey Show continues. I'm on the rock. Good conversation. I like the goop. Eddie saw a guy at the movie theater. This guy's a genius. He's not a genius.
He took a little cup and he put butter in it. And then as he ate the popcorn, he would just dab a little, you know, pour a little bit of more butter on it. Well, the big issue with the self-serve butter is it only goes on the top of the butter. You eat halfway down the butter, the popcorn, it's not buttered anymore. So this genius, absolute genius, he's the Da Vinci of our time. No, he's not. Ate the butter and then had the butter, the popcorn, excuse me, and then had the rebuttered butter there. put on the popcorn. You're the worst. You are the worst. The system's flawed. Genius! Mike has the best idea ever. Here's what I want. Rob, get on this. Make this happen. Rob, invent this, dude. Rob, make it happen, please. You want an invention? Here it is. We're talking movie theater popcorn. What you have is you have a giant exactly what the thing looks like right now that they keep the popcorn in. You know those big giant square glass squares that they keep it in box. Glass box. It's a glass case of emotion. Yes. It's a glass case of emotion, but they fill it with popcorn instead. It's a good use for it. Here's what it would be. It would be one of those, only it's broken up into two compartments. On one compartment is popcorn. On the other compartment is a conveyor belt. Above the conveyor belt, a fine mist.
sprayer. A mist. But excuse me, what if people don't like popcorn buttered? Then you gotta go to have it, they'll have another conveyor belt. No, no, no, you demystify it. No, you just get it before it hits the conveyor belt. Three compartments. Thanks, Mike. Popcorn on one side is unbuttered. Popcorn coming through the conveyor belt on the other side is sprayed mist-wise. You just get a cup. You get a cup. You fill it up. It makes it soggy. Oh, it does. It's the worst. I love it. The popcorn becomes soggy. I love the gloop. That's what I call it. Gobbledy gloop. Oh, man. Let's see. Oh, it's 901. The Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian, was the number one movie this weekend, making $56.6 million. Well, this weekend, Big Brown wins the two-thirds of the Triple Crown, winning the Preakness on Saturday. That's not UPS. No, it isn't. Mikey, my boyfriend got me a massage for my birthday. Full body, and the dude massaged my...
bottom for half hour. He said I had a lot of stress. No way, Jose. Weird. That's the best. Sky, come on. You don't want a guy massaging your bottom for 30 minutes. You would not like that. How long was the massage? It's probably an hour long. That is a bit much time to focus on one area. Oh, it's a deep burn. It's so deep. You would think that they would do the butt for... Ten. Three minutes sky. Well, if you're breaking the body into parts and you've got 60 minutes. You have your eubulus muscle that connects to the upper dorseness. Mikey, I'm a massage therapist. I have no problem massaging your wives. Well, that's weird. That's strange. That's a weird one. Don't know. Not signed. Mikey, my fiancé freaked out when I had a massage scheduled with a male masseuse. He said he doesn't like the idea of another man touching me. Well, that brings us to the email. Chill.
Here's what the email says. Mikey, I love the show, and I've been a P1 for two years now. I have to ask you a question, though. I got my wife a massage at a spa for Valentine's Day back in February. She went, came back, told me that she had a guy massage her. I am not really the jealous type, so I didn't think anything of it. Well, she's had some back issues and decided to go back once a month to the same dude. She tells me the other day how cool he is and how they talk about everything during the massage and are becoming friends. Now I'm starting to get a little worried. I really think it's kind of inappropriate to start a friendship with this guy. Am I being weird or do you feel the same way? Thanks. Signed. P1. Bill Switch Engage. Well, see, there's things missing here from this. So I'll have to answer it. with two different options. Let's say one option is that they're becoming friends and they're hanging out outside of the masseuse parlor. The parlor. The massage house. Bath house. If they're hanging out outside of the massage club. If they're hanging out outside of there, I think it's a little inappropriate.
If they are becoming friends, meaning that they like talk when she goes in there and chat it up, I don't think that there's an issue. But I, you know, so it'd have to be those two different things, I guess. 5701053, our text number 35253. But I, I don't, I think that it's okay for, in a marriage, in my take, in a marriage. I think it's cool to have friends of the opposite sex, but I think you both need to be friends with them. I think it's weird when one of you is friends with them and the partner doesn't know them because you can get, hmm, are you guys, you know, there could be a disconnect. That makes sense. But if you're both friends with them, it's cool. Especially when you put into account, like, or when you take into account that.
There could be issues of like, what about when you're in a fight? It goes back to that whole thing about guys and girlfriends, you know what I mean? Sure. It goes back to all of that. Eddie, what's your take? I would not like it, Mike. Uh-oh. I'm not having this. Speak on it, Ed. Speak on it. I want some dude with his man hands rubbing it all up on my wife. Whoa. Getting all hot and bothered. I'm a dude. I'm a dude. Come on, dude. I don't care. I don't care who you are. You're rubbing some girl. You're getting thoughts. You're getting feelings. It's natural. It's natural. But what if you rub girls all day long? Guy. You don't think? Eddie, let me ask you. Let me ask you. Do you believe that a gynecologist has the same experience? Ah, I like you, Mike. It's only different because it is not the nicest thing that they're doing. Yeah. Oh, Eddie's got a face. Eddie's got a face. You got stuff going on down there. I mean, it's probably a turn off. It's a turn off. But if you're rubbing a girl, massaging her, you're kind of into it. You're going to get a massage guy calling her, oh, dude, I'm professional. Yeah, great. Whatever. But you're going home and you're thinking thoughts. So bottom line is, I'm out on the whole thing. She wants a massage. Get a lady.
Lady masseuse. Ashley looks like she's on the same page. 100%. So you make your boyfriend get massaged by a guy. What? Oh, no. I was talking about me. You. Yeah, because I don't know. Like, probably a year or two back, I went and got a massage. And I've gotten a handful of massages. Most of the time from a woman. I actually am more comfortable with that. The one time I got it from a male. And this was like your basic. I mean, he took it very seriously. And it was like your basic massage. But he got. into it you got jiggy and it i was single and whatever but it made me uncomfortable and i definitely now that i'm in a relationship would not feel comfortable because i don't care who you are if you're if you're giving massages every day if you're a guy okay you might massage a woman who's sky what was that you might massage a man but if you're massaging some hot woman sky just had a look actually speaking please sky just had a look that said What's a big whip with that? Well, because Eddie looked at me like, see, see, your girl gets it. I'm like, that's fine. Well, see, that's just her opinion. It's just my perspective. Like, I don't feel comfortable having a guy rub me like that unless he's my boyfriend. You know what I mean? If it's you. That's my opinion. Listen, I think it's fine if it's you to not feel comfortable. Right. Only thing I would have an issue with is telling somebody you can't do this.
Right. You can tell them I'm not comfortable with it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, I wouldn't tell. That's what I would say. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is my own personal preference. You could say, you know, it does make me uncomfortable that you're going to a guy masseuse because I feel like he's going home and fantasizing about you. And I don't want another man touching your body. I don't want another man to touch your naked body. So then you'd have a dude massage you. Huh? If you went to get a massage, it would be a dude. I don't get massages, so it's not even an issue. All I'm saying is from a girl's perspective, I don't feel... I thought you just got one. When? I thought you were going to get... Well, on the honeymoon. Didn't you get one on the honeymoon? Yeah, we did. We had a couple's massage. Would you do that? Would you let a guy massage if it was both in the room? No. You prefer a woman. Yeah, I don't want another dude touching my wife. Yeah. I just don't. Yeah. What about touching you? I don't want a dude touching me either. Let me tell you. First massage I ever got was from a guy, and I'll never make that mistake ever again. It's too erotic. Yes. I was way too turned on by the experience. No, it was so uncomfortable. It was the most uncomfortable thing. No way, Jose. It was a 50-minute nightmare. He had red hair. You never forget your first. He had red hair. Every time with his red hair. He had red hair, red eyelashes, freckles. We get it.
And he looked at me, and his eyes said, oh, you're gay. Oh. Oh, you're gay. Oh, obviously. Otherwise, you wouldn't have asked for a dude. You, my little tubby friend, are... You're a fruit fly. You came in here because you want me to give you a little hello. Hello, hello. Yeah, when... Sounds gay. Me and the boo, one time, we both got massages, and a guy and a girl walked in the room, but, like, we were going to go... Sky, what just happened? I just hit my microphone and it flipped around. We were going to go into separate rooms and the dude approached my husband and was like, hey, I'm going to be your masseuse. And the girl approached me and was like, and then as soon as they left, my hubby's like, can we switch? And so he, you know, he was completely fine with me having the guy and him having the girl. I was fine with it too. Yeah. Yeah. I would be. Eddie just smelled whore at me. I don't think that's appropriate. I said store. What does that even mean? For what? What do you mean at the store? Baby oil. Did you have to say baby oil? Mikey, massages are meant to be relaxing. You do not carry on conversations with them. Thank you. I have had a ton and never had a conversation with my masseuse. Signed, P1 Corey.
That is strange, right? I think so. Maybe it is. Aren't you supposed to be listening to Yanni and getting rubbed? I thought that was the deal. It depends on the person, I think. Because sometimes I've had masseuses try to strike up conversations. You just don't really respond and then they get the idea. That's how it's happening to me anyways. You're supposed to be relaxed. Sometimes I'm in a chatty mood. I'll talk about it. Sorry about that, miss. Gross. Mikey, I'm a massage therapist, and if she is complaining of low back pain, the gluteus muscles are a big part of the cause. That's P1 Lindsay. Skye. Feels good. Skye loves massage, and Ashley has man hands. Oh, dude, I know. Skye is as prudish as I can. Except when it comes to massages. So you don't care if some dude is rubbing your butt? She's in there naked. Really? Like he can't rub my front goodies. He can really rub your buttocks. Really? Honestly? Like the way you're doing it. Yeah, I'm honking. Not like that, but you know. He can rub. The outer hip butt. Mike, talk to him. Talk to him. I don't know any of this.
Mike, talk to your friend. I didn't hear anything. I think it's called a mud bath, Eddie, if that's what you're getting at. And that's a whole other thing that they offer at the spa. At the spa, that's a whole different thing that they offer. It's good for your skin. But anyway. Well, Skye, I don't think he's touching your buttocks. He's touching your hips on the side. And then they kind of get a little, Eddie, they get a little. Eddie. Wow, Eddie. Stop it. Grow up, man. Grow up. Zeth yells out graphic. Wow. Wow. Even Zeth is blushing. They got me. This is great. Wow. I'm having a great time, guys. The lower back, upper butt, the outer hip, side butt, I'm all in. I'm all in. It doesn't make you a little uncomfortable that he's... Are you fully nude? No, she's covered with a sheet. Yeah, but I mean, under the sheet. Well, yeah, because it's an option to leave your panties on or take off. Do you?
Most of the time I take them off. You're not nervous, guy? Nervous about what? You're not nervous that he sees your body. No, no, no. You're not nervous that he sees your private parts? Well, if he happens to see it, I'm sure it's not the first time. Okay, for him, but it doesn't make you nervous that it's the first time he's seeing yours. Well, I mean, it's dark in there. They wrap you so that... You obviously haven't had a creepy masseuse. Guys, guys, plus. No, I haven't had a creepy masseuse. That would change your life and you would never go back to a male masseuse. Yeah, I mean, I'm sure if I had a bad experience like Ashley, definitely. One thing you're not taking into account. What? Mine is gorgeous. I mean... So true. Work of art. Spectacular. Solid gorgeous. I mean black. What? Wait a second. I don't know if he knew what we were... No, I don't know. We weren't talking about the masseuse, not the masseuse.
But I prefer a woman anyways because I think a woman knows how to. More sensual. Oh, whoa. Wait a second. 100%. It's not supposed to be about sensual. They know the, like, right spots to touch. Oh, yeah. More pleasurable. Wait a second. Skye, it's not about sensual. The chicks will normally, like, rub your scalp where the dudes, like, won't do that. And that's the goods right there. But I thought you were there to get a relaxation, not sensual. It kind of goes hand in hand. Wait a minute, Skye. Are these massage places you go to, are they legal? Hang on. She said... It's a part of the Jacuzzi Club. Shut up. Hold on. Shut up. Let me explain it to you. $20 surcharge. A surcharge? You pay a little extra, Mike. A little extra. A little, a little, a little. That's right. Call the happy ending. Rob. Who are you, Eddie? 950. What do you mean? Thank you. It's not me. I've been holding so much back, though. P1 massage therapist is on the line. How y'all doing? Good. Say it. Say it. About this comment about happy endings and about everything like that. Massages are therapeutic. Thank you. I agree. Guys that are emasculated about having another man touch their wife, she married you. She chose you. Yep. You're just making her feel good. What does that have to do with me not wanting another man touching my wife? Get him. He's like a doctor, dude.
He's not a doctor. He's not a doctor. I'm not a doctor, and this guy ain't no doctor. Does your wife go to a gynecologist at the mail? Are you comparing yourself to a gynecologist, bro? I've gone to a gynecologist. I've taken anatomy classes. Are you comparing yourself to a gynecologist? Yes, he is, Eddie. You're gross. It's just not gross. Why does that make him gross? He's a professional. Just because you got it all twisted up here, he's a pro. Yeah, I'm sure. He's a pro. I'm sure. I'm also a man. Let's see. P1 Kitty McMue is on the line. Oh, that's unnecessary. Hey, how you doing, Maggie? Good. Hey, listen, I just wanted to comment on that email. I think that guy's looking for trouble if he lets his wife go once a month to see the same dude. One day she's going to have a bad day. She's going to spill the beans to him, and one thing could lead to another. There's trouble in the making. Let me ask you something. If that happened, aren't you with the wrong woman? No, Mike. I'm with the right woman if that happens. That's a good time. You know what? Thank you. Thank you very much. P1, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. P1, Kyle is on the line. Hello, Kyle. What's going on, man?
My wife's awesome. She goes and gets them at least like once a month. And I mean, we've talked about it. I'd be enraged if another dude was wiping hands all over. It would be enraged. Great word. Big word. Act it out, Mike. Act it out, Mike. Great visual. Well done. I had a massage today, and it was by this man named Bob. Mike, you're enraged. Wow, that is really crazy. But you would be enraged by it. What would you say to her? Or would you lift her and throw her over a mountain? I wouldn't touch her. I'd touch the other guy. Oh, you would go beat him up. Yeah, for doing his job. He doesn't want another guy touching her anyway. Yeah, yes. Right. That is very strong and tough. Yes. Thank you. P1, Stephanie. Yes.
Go ahead, Stephanie. Hi. I'm a massage therapist, and I have been for almost seven years. Talk about it. And there is, first of all, the word masseuse or masseur. Yes. It kind of has sexual content. So to massage therapists, it's actually degrading when people say that. I did not know that. Wow. It is. So masseuse is bad. That's like a bad thing? Yes. When I hear the word masseuse, I think happy ending. Yeah, yeah. You think of a massage parlor. Right. Didn't know that. Didn't know that. That is extremely degrading. And there is a difference between sexual touch and therapeutic touch. Yeah, yeah. No, listen, I agree. And the other thing that in your, you know. I don't know where we're at odds because I agree with you. Well, I mean, it's just the whole, you know, I mean, I don't want a man touching my wife kind of thing. Ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am. Are you or ever have you been a male? No. Okay. Okay. That's all I wanted to know. Eddie rest his case. Eddie rest his case. To the jury. To the jury. Eddie rest his case. To the jury. How weird would it have been if she would have been like one time? Yes. We're being honest about it. Thank you very much, Stephanie. So here's the question. Would you be upset if your wife or your girlfriend had a male?

Try one of the most fuel-efficient car companies in America. Oh, do these incredible deals also apply to the Civic Hybrid? Well, they've got very impressive financing on the Civic Hybrid, which makes those 45 miles per gallon sound even sweeter. So let's get going. Okay, wait a minute, champ. What's the bad news? Oh, we can wait. Uh-uh. This is not good. Wait for what? Like a train or something? I think this involves your parents, doesn't it? Well, maybe. That and possibly a little trip. But it can wait. Go see what's happening at your Honda dealer. It's all good news. EPA estimated highway mileage per gallon for the Civic Hybrid. Use for comparison. Actual mileage may vary. Manufacturer efficiency claim based on model year 2006 cafe average fuel economy ratings and weighted sales for passenger car and light truck fleets sold in the U.S. by major manufacturers.
Overall, not a bad ride. A couple of things to be aware of, though. We've got Caltrans crews mopping up an earlier diesel fuel spill on the College Boulevard off-ramp from eastbound 78. The ramp is open. Just keep an eye out for them. On the main line, east 78, just past College. There's an accident being reported there. Heading down the coastline, south 5, still tight end of Encinitas towards Solana Beach. The South 15 looking good down the entire stretch. The North 805 still has a brief slowdown as well at Governor Drive in the Golden Triangle. And watch for a slowdown as well South 163 at Washington as you head your way into Balboa Park. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105.3. Now something you might have missed. Hey, man, I got a funny story about when I met my wife back in college. Yeah. A few years back, about 10 years ago, I went to her dorm to pick her up for our first date. We barely knew each other. And we're hanging out in her dorm. I'm getting to know her a little bit. And she tells me, she's like, hey, you know, my back really hurts. Will you crack my back? I'm like, yeah, sure. So she does that thing where she crosses her arms in front of her chest. Right. And I get behind her to pick her up and squeeze her to crack her back, and she rips her right arm. Oh. Ew. I don't think that there is a boyfriend or husband in the world that hasn't pickled his girlfriend at one time or another. Oh. Coochie, coochie. The Mikey Show continues. Rock.
1053. It's 933. It was a hot one this weekend. I win. It was a hot one this weekend. What did you win? We were having a staring contest. And Eddie looked away first? Yep. It was a hot one this weekend with temperature records being broken all over the county. More bad news for the Padres. Jake Peavy is going to miss his start tonight with elbow pain. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. Our phone number is 5701053 and our text number is 35253. And the email that we got was a guy that said that his lady is going to a male masseuse artist. Massage therapist. Massage pal. We've learned. Massage therapist is the appropriate term. And he does not like it. And Eddie says, I can relate. I don't want a guy touching my wife. And so 5701053.
3-5-2-5-3, P1 Juggernaut. Yes, Mikey. Hey, my wife has carpal tunnel in her wrist, and I know massage helps with that. But my personal view on it is if I meet the guy and I get a feel for him, because first of all, I'd like to sit there and watch the dude. I mean, my chiropractor is really nice. Is this getting creepy to anyone else? Wow, man. He likes to watch. Go ahead. You want to watch him to make, because if he was a pervert, then he's definitely going to perv out in front of you. Is that what you're thinking? No, usually when I go to the chiropractor, my wife comes with me, and when I get my massage, she sits in the room with me as well. Really? Why? It's just something, she's really, she's real kind of clingy, and she's real personal, but it's just she, whenever I'm not at work, she likes to be with me, and that's cool. I don't mind it. I mean, I love her to death. So you're, is this your wife or your girlfriend? My wife. And she, okay, so she's clingy, and she says, I want to go in the room with you. And you're okay with that. Okay. Have you suffocated at all? No, no, no, no, no. No, she's not that clingy. You know, if I tell her I want to go have a good time with my friends, or I want to go anywhere, she's like, yeah, no problem. She never questions me. She never asks me where I've been, what we did. She says, did you have a good time? I don't know. I don't know about that.
I don't believe that. I don't believe that. But beyond that. I don't know any of this. I just can't imagine a situation where my wife is like, oh, I'd like to go with you in there. She never asked me. I asked her. I said, well, do you want to come with me? Well, you said that. No, that's not what you said. Now the story is different. Now you're saying that you ask her to go in there. And then you said that she's clean. She wants to. But usually she sticks right by my side. Yeah, you ask her if she wants to go in there. Well, yeah. I mean, if there's another woman going to be giving me a massage, I mean, you know, wouldn't you think that you might want to be in there with you? I have a question. I have a question. Not for you, sir. Oh, yes, sir. For the folks on the show and anybody listening. Okay. Does anyone suspect that perhaps he is the one that might be clingy and wants to know what's up with his wife and wants to know what she's doing and wants to know what...
Interesting. I like you. Is anybody getting that? That's a good question. It's a great question. I never thought about that. That is a far out question. I don't know. Maybe. Maybe. I didn't think about that. Yeah. That could be the deal. But, alrighty. Just ruined his life. Yeah. Got a lot to think about. I certainly did not mean to ruin his life. I meant to help his life. Oh. And wife. Yeah, when you asked the question, by the way, I'll answer the question. Wouldn't I want my wife to go in with me when I get my massage? Not at all. Not at all. And do I want to be there? Wait, he asked the question. He said, why not? It is highly unnecessary and almost inappropriate. It's unnecessary to start. It's unnecessary. It's boring. Yeah, it's boring. It's unnecessary. Come on, better things to do. Yeah. Yeah. Well, my wife does not drive. She's got a learning disability that I'm trying to get her to be able to drive on her own. So usually she spends all her time with me. And we just, 90% of the time, we spend time with each other because I don't drink, I don't party most of the time. And usually we just hang out. Well, it sounds like your situation may be different from other people's situations, in which case, okay.
But I don't understand why she's not in the waiting room reading a magazine. That's, yeah. Because she's anti-social. So she has real bad social anxiety. Well, see, you got a whole different thing. You know, there's a lot of like, you're more of a, it's not, well, wait, I mean, you're, if I get you correctly, you're saying you're more of a caregiver than, you know, you're definitely kind of a caregiver. Like you're responsible for her care. Yeah, and that situation may work for you, but the majority of people don't have those issues to deal with, so it doesn't really apply to the majority. Yeah. Wow. You know, honestly. I mean, we're not saying there's anything wrong with what you're doing. It sounds like you're very attentive to your wife and her needs, and that's great. But it sounds like... His husband's supposed to be attentive to his wife. No, that's great. But lots of people can't relate to the social anxiety and the wife who can't drive. Well, he said that she's got, yeah, like a learning disability. There's a disability that's going on that we didn't know about when you first called. It's like saying... It would be like this. It'd be like saying...
You know, my wife, she never goes jogging with me and it really upsets me only to learn halfway through the conversation. My wife's in a wheelchair. It's like, oh, your wife goes in that room with you because she's there's some there's an issue with her and she has an issue. And so you need to bring her in there with you or she'd be very upset. And that's different than. Yeah, that's that's a different situation. But OK, I appreciate the call. Yes, sir. That's P1 mechanic. P1 juggernaut. Wait a minute. P1 Aaron? Yeah. What's going on? Hey, good morning. How are you guys doing? Good. Hey, I just wanted to comment on the whole massage thing. I was in my car and, you know, my wife and I are P1s and usually she listens at work. So I just gave her a call, you know, when I got the chance. And after she was listening, she said no. So I just briefed her up what was going on and I asked for her opinion. You know, she's really cool. She'll, you know, she just, she puts it like it is. I asked her, I said, how would you feel about a guy touching you like that and talking to you? And she's like, well, first of all, you know, there should be limitations. Like, hey, when you go in there, this is what I want done. Don't touch here. Don't touch there. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Don't touch here and don't touch there. Like, you should only go up to a certain portion of the thigh and like, hey, dude, you know, I just want my legs rubbed. You know, don't touch my butt. Don't touch.
And you can say that. Yeah, sure. If that's your personal detail. Yeah, I mean, if that's your thing, then yeah. Absolutely, and that's what I was telling her, and she was like, yeah, you know, I think it, basically she was like, you know, the chick's wrong. First of all, like, you know, letting him, if he touches her in those areas, because that's totally up to her, and then on top of everything, to have a relationship. with, you know, like some kind of friendship to keep going back to that because, you know, it should be strictly business. Well, what are we talking here? If he's touching her buttocks, is he like, are they engaged in some sexual thing or is it massage therapy? What are we talking here? I mean, because when you're saying it, you're making it sound like, yeah, well, you know, it's totally wrong for her to let him touch her butt. Well, wait a second. What are we talking about? Is this a massage or is this like they're getting it on? No, it's absolutely a massage. Well, I mean, I can understand where the massage therapists are listening to this going, what? Right? That's so weird. Yeah, like, what? No. You know, I mean, it's a massage. It's not like, it's supposed to be therapeutic and it's not about sex. It's not foreplay. It's not foreplay. Wow.
Still, I mean, come on, man. Like, I agree with Eddie. Like, I'm a pretty cool dude, you know. Like, I'm okay with my wife doing, you know, like, a lot of things, you know. But for a guy to touch my wife, like, I would just be irate, you know, unless there was like, hey, like, you know, I would tell her, like, you know, just do what you feel comfortable. And, you know, my wife, I don't believe that, you know, if someone was going to rub her like that, you know, don't let a dude. Like what? Rub her like what? Like rubber butt, like areas of her body that, you know, only your husband or your wife should touch. Okay. Now, listen. Let me give you my take. My take isn't right. It's not wrong. It's just mine. Rebecca goes to massage therapists, and she doesn't go to guys anymore because she had a weird experience. But I don't have a problem with her going to a guy. Because I do believe that they're doing something. First of all, I think they see a billion women every day. And I think it becomes very like it becomes their job more than it becomes anything sexual. And so in that environment, I don't I don't personally have a problem with a dude massaging Rebecca because I think that it's on the up and up.
But I can understand. I mean, if you've got a problem with it, okay, that's cool. But I don't think that they are doing anything creepy, personally. I can see your point. But how would you feel if Rebecca came home and was like, oh, Mike, there's this really cool guy. But you know that this dude's touching your wife in certain areas, which you know at first you're cool with. What do the two have to do? Would it be different if she was going to a dental hygienist and she said the same thing about the dental hygienist? Would it be different? I believe so because you're working in a different area. I mean, to me, I just believe that that's a personal area. If you follow your thought through, then I guess what I'm getting is, dude, the reason I'm uncomfortable with it is because if they become friends and they're like hanging out and he's touching parts of her body, next thing you know, she's pregnant.
You know, like, follow the story through. What do you think will happen here? Like, it's not really any different from any dude meeting your wife and her getting along with him. The only thing different about it is that he's doing massage instead of cleaning her teeth. But if she's the type of chick that's going to, like, let it go somewhere, then you don't want any part of that chick. That's the whole thing. You want to be, you don't want any part of that. And if you do feel uncomfortable, that's okay. Like Eddie said that earlier. He's like, dude, well, what about if I just don't like it? That's cool. You're allowed to, I mean, I think it's totally fine to be able to say to somebody, hey, I got to tell you, man, that makes me uncomfortable. And then it's on them. Like if they're like, well, I know it makes you uncomfortable, but I'm still going to do it. It's on them. But hopefully in a situation like that, they would say, well, I don't want to do it if it makes you uncomfortable. You know what I mean? It's just as easy to get it.
I tell you, it shouldn't make a difference really, I guess, to have a man or a woman. Unless chicks feel like, well, only a guy gives a good massage. Unless they feel that. But I think chicks give great massages. I can't let Ashley give me a massage. It hurts. Ashley has Frankenstein hands, I think is the actual clinical term for her condition. Yes, very powerful hands. Like Frankenstein. Yeah, I'm a real good massage therapist. Massage therapist. Massage artiste. What do you guys make of this? Well said. Good morning, Sky and Eddie. Oh, hello. Good morning. Good morning to you. They have a question for you guys. They say, I was hoping maybe one of you could bring up Zeth's love life to Mikey to talk about on the air since it was never touched on on Thursday. Oh, that's right. I know there's probably a lot to get into on the show about it, so I thought I'd throw it out there. Wow. Juicy meatballs. Wow. Wow. There's been a lot of juicy meatballs, huh? A little spicy for me. That's right. Maybe too juicy. Thank you. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Well, what the person is asking is that Zeth said on the air Thursday morning that he and his lady broke up. Oh.
And we hadn't really been allowed to talk about it. He wasn't comfortable talking about it. But then he finally came to a point where he said, I could talk about it. So this happened a while ago? Four years ago, I think. Oh, no. That's crazy. Just starting to feel comfy with it. Time feels all woo. That's right. He's very sensitive. A lot of time. Yeah, he's sensitive. He is sensitive. Zath, how long ago did you and your lady break up? Like two and a half weeks ago, three weeks ago, something like that. Longer than that, I think. Yeah, it's been a long time. Was it longer than two and a half, three weeks? That's where it seems like a long time ago. How long, Ash? I would say at least a month. There you go. How long did you date? Like two months. You should be getting over it right about now. Are you or not? Yeah, I'm good. Are you being honest? Yeah. Yeah. Usually the rule of thumb, it usually takes the human body half the time you are in the relationship in general speaking terms. General speaking terms. People will be less, more. Generally speaking, it takes a human body half the time that you are in the relationship to recover from it. So if you were together for two years, it's going to take about a year before you're starting to get, uh-huh. So two months, it's been a month. So what was the deal? What happened? To make kind of a long story on the short end of it, she had a lot of things going on kind of back-to-back where it was not necessarily good things going on in her life and it was really stressing her out.
And with anything else, stress put a strain on the relationship, and it just kind of dissolved everything with what she had going on. No, you're young. You're young. You'll bounce back. You'll find another lady. You're only 23. Yep. The young guy. Man, I feel kind of guilty, like we're not really delving. I don't know what else to say. Yeah, I don't know. Wasn't as juicy of a meatball as I thought. Sorry. You thought it would be a lot juicier than that? It's not less juicy. Can you tell me? The saying is a spicy meatball, Ashley. Says who? I have a feeling I know. Maybe Dr. Wayne? Oh my goodness, am I on the air? Yeah, I figured it was you. Hey guys, it's Dr. Wayne calling in. We rarely talk about Zeth, and when we do, you usually pop up.
Have I mentioned on the air before that I am a chiropractor in the area? Yes. And I am also a licensed deep tissue Swedish massage therapist. Speaking of inappropriate behavior. Thank you. I hope you're not talking about me. Well, I think we... I don't need to go into it. So what's up, Dr. Wayne? I was just sitting here counting my baby oil. You're counting your baby oil. Inventory, Eddie. How many you got? 145 bottles of baby oil. That's a lot. That's a lot of baby oil. Johnson & Johnson, just the way I roll. Is that normal when you use baby oil? Is it normal to use baby oil? Well, a lot of times people use that lavender and all that stuff. I say forget it. Just go with the real stuff. Johnson & Johnson baby oil is the only way I roll. I'm actually covered in it. Right now? Right this morning. Why? Because I'm calling you from my sauna. Why are you in baby oil in a sauna? That's odd. The answer's in the question. No, it isn't. Thank you, Eddie. No, this is weird.
The reason I'm calling in this morning, I just heard Zef and his problems with the girlfriend and all that stuff. Oh, so you're not calling in about the massage topic? Because that would have made sense. Well, I was on hold for that, but then I waited so long that it turned into another topic. We heard the phone ringing. I called right back. Called right back. Lies. Called back. Anyway. Anyway, I heard Zef talking about this thing with the breakup and the girlfriend and all that. Sad, huh? You know, there's a statistic here that I was just reading in Massage Magazine that talks about... Massage Magazine? That's not a real thing. 84% of most knots are caused by breakups. Knots? That's right, Eddie. Knots. So you should massage Zeth then. Ashley, you're not helping. I wouldn't try to go there, but since you said it, that's not such a bad idea. Zeth, if you'd like to come by the studio, I wouldn't mind. What studio are you talking about? Where I do my massage, I call my studio. Happens to be my studio apartment. I'm converting it into a loft. I need a little help with that, by the way.
You're a chiropractor. Exactly. Thank you, Eddie, for proving my point. Thank you for saying that. Thank you. That was very courteous. Anyway, Zeth, if you'd like, why don't you come on by and I'll make sure I get those breakup knots right out of your back. Zeth, are you in? No, thank you, but Sky loves massages. That's true. That sounds great, Skye. Would you like a massage? Yes, thank you. Well, it sounds like there's a few of you that do, so I'll throw all the names in the hat. No, it's just me. It's just I'm the only one. I'm the only one. Okay, let's see. There's only Skye and Zeth, and I pulled Zeth's name. Zeth doesn't want one. He said no, thank you. I pass. I'll give Zeth a massage, and look at this. Got some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches I'm going to be making this afternoon. Yes, I screwed a word up. I'm sorry. Goodbye. I'm really upset, Dr. Lane. I'm really upset. Our phone number is 35253. Text number. Oh, no, that's our text, right? Isn't that our text? You tried that again. I don't know what you'll get. Our phone number is 5701053. Our text.
Text number is 35253. A box office totals. When we come back, we'll hear about that. Don't go away. It's Mikey Show. How dare you. How dare you. Hit it.
You know what you're doing. Hit it, hit it. Hit it with your face and your new coffee mug. Hit it. You guys seen Sean's new coffee mug? Someone stole mine. Maybe he should hit it with his new snappy coffee mug. Can we see what it looks like, the coffee mug? Let's take a look. Show that thing off. Don't lose it, you use it. Oh, that's... Wow, that's also a can of hairspray, which is really cool. It's awesome. Sky and Ashley saw Indiana Jones and the Rebellion of the Goats. Oh, there it is. Indiana Jones and the Case of the Bridal Bouquet. Indiana Jones and the Chance that...
Took the slews. That was a good one. How was it, you guys? Well, Mike. Uh-oh. It's not good. It's hit and miss. Does that mean? Parts of it are great. Parts of it are terrible. What do you mean by terrible? Can't say. Strong word, Eddie. I agree with myself. That sounds like plot. That sounds like plot. Yeah, we don't want to give away anything. Visually awesome? Well, no, it's not that. There's a lot of stuff that I liked. that I felt were like old school Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark, adventure, fun. And then there's a major plot point that I don't agree with, and it really bothered me. Visually, pretty great. Yeah, I mean, I didn't think it was like anything spectacular. That's what I like about them. I think they look cool. I think they're fun. Like, you know, they're fun. That's what I want. Yeah, it's fun. Cool, super fun stuff. Yeah, super fun, cool.
Here's Steven Spielberg talking about how emotional it was when Karen Allen and Harrison Ford were reunited. Cut 23. Steven told me about the moment that had everyone choked up when Karen and Harrison were first reunited on the set. And the crew members, many of them had tears in their eyes. Really? And because they weren't crew members when the first Indy came out, they were kids. And it was one of the most emotional moments in the entire movie. It was very emotional. I think we all did. I don't know if this is Ryan Seacrest coming out, but it kind of has that feel to it. Well, listen, let's take a listen. Cut 31. I read that you went to Eva Longoria's wedding. Is that true? I did. Is it true that you cried at the wedding? I did. Well, there it is. I did. I mean, I cried. You did not. I did. Did you really? I'd want to say I didn't, but I did. I want to tell you I'm not like that, but I am. When did you cry? At what point? It was when it was... You got the hotel bill? No, there was a Peter Gabriel song, and I was in Paris, and she was there with Tony, and I was there in Paris, and I just cried at that point. Oh, no.
May I suggest that you take a little blog of your time for some counseling? Yes, and with respect, I actually cried during the Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode that airs this Sunday. You did? I mean, I edited it. Why? Because you're like, why in God's name are I involved? No, it's... This guy goes, okay. He did a good thing in New Orleans. What did they do? They fixed things. What, did they have sex with people in New Orleans? Dude, I'm in my bed. I'm watching that. What? I don't know. Trying to plug his stupid show. Right. The Kardashian show. Yeah, he's the executive producer. The Ryan Seacrest thing. Do you like it, Ash? Oh, yeah. Love it. Yeah, I actually, they were doing a marathon this weekend, so I saw it for like the first time. Good people, huh? Interesting people. Entertaining. It's what I would call dead behind the eyes, Mike. Oh, wow. Wow. You guys want to hear Lars? Oh, no. Talking about Metallica. Cut 71. It's Metallica. Yeah. I can tell you. My dad was up at the house a couple, three, four weeks ago. So I played him a couple, three, four songs. And I said, well, and he goes, it sounds like Metallica. And I don't know if you can define it. I mean, we can sit and get into, you know, little definitions about that. But he just looked at me and said, that sounds like Metallica. And that's pretty cool. Wanted it to sound like Carrie Underwood.
Sounds like mentality. Well, of course. It's like, oh, we wanted it to sound like Oasis. Thanks for the details, Lord. What in the world? Matt Sorum has his own clothing line. Oh. Why? Do you guys know that? No. Yeah, he does. And I guess they're still looking for a new lead singer for Velvet Revolver, too. Cut 73. It's coming along. People are sending stuff in. The first time we were looking for a singer was a little tougher because people didn't really know what we were doing musically, I guess. So this time it's gotten out of control, especially with the Internet and things like that. We've got just thousands and thousands of people coming at us with, you know, auditions. That's a hard living voice right there. It is. That's a voice with some miles on it right there. Sky, what were the big winners at the box office this weekend? All right. Say it, Skye. Come on. Coming in. Nah. Third place. Nah. What Happens in Vegas, making $13.9 million. Number two. Nah. Yes, yes, yes. Was Iron Man, making $31.2 million. That movie has now grossed $475 billion. Seriously. And number one.
was the Chronicles of Narnia. Prince Caspian making 56.6 million buckaroos. How was it, Rob? I did not go to it. Wait, what? I learned from the first time. I didn't know it was a Disney movie. I went in there and it was a bunch of like eight-year-olds and me. I was like, wait a minute. We went to dinner with Lori and a girl named Kimber. My current name was Kimber. Terrible names. Uh-oh. You didn't say it three times? I didn't. I have to do the three-time thing. And Kimber had just seen this movie, and she said that, like, people dress up. Yeah. Oh, no. They go in dressed up and everything, and she said that they'll, like, stand up. What's wrong with that? With these swords, and they'll be like, you know, and they'll push. Charge. Yeah, like a charge type of thing, but they'll say, like, you know. Listen, some people like to dress up when they're really into a movie. Eddie. I like to dress it, period. What? You've never done. I've never done it, but I'm okay with people that do certain things, just certain movies. Like what? I don't know. Anything off the top of my head? There's Star Wars? Oh, sure. So you're okay with that? You're okay with it? It doesn't bother me at all.
But if it were any other thing, I get the feeling that you would think that that was nerdy. That's a little dumb. Given your personality. It's a little dumb. Like for conventions, just dressing up for fun. Yeah. That you would see that as dumb. No. No. Okay. I don't. So you're not a favorite. Wow. I wasn't even going there. Oh, you weren't? I thought we were all. Cut 78. Panda? Oh, no. Sean doesn't want to play the clip. Oh, man. Look at him. Don't hold it against us. Wow. Who said there was anything wrong with any of that? I am so sorry. Save it, dude. Save it. Don't spray it. P1 Ryan just instant messaged me asking if the reason that Rob didn't go to see the movie is because he wouldn't be able to see over the eight-year-old's heads.
Wow. That's a legitimate question. That is his question. That is his question. That is his question. Rob gets very upset when the people at the movie theater ask, you know, where's your guardian? Stuff like that. He gets very upset because now they have a thing that says you must be this tall to see this movie. They don't do that. He gets a great price on the tickets. That's true. Sorry, Rob. Speaking of little people, Peter Dinklage is in this film, and here he is talking about it. Cut 77. A lot of the times on a movie, for an actor, you sort of meet somebody, and then five seconds later, you're doing a love scene with them. And it's so sort of disorienting and, like, crazy. But it happens. But in this movie, you feel you, for people who hadn't been a part of the first one, you felt like you were already walking into a whole world that had already been created and relationships. And they really welcomed myself and Ben and anybody else who had not been on the first movie. I want to write a movie. And the movie is about love and meeting, like, Internet dating. Because listen to him.
The movie is about this couple that meet, and the girl is like the girl that was in Transformers, Megan Fox. So gorgeous. She totally falls in love with Peter Dinklage over the phone. Okay. And they meet, and you hear his voice. Play his voice. Cut 77 again. A lot of the times on a movie, for an actor, you sort of meet somebody, and then five seconds later, you're doing a love scene with them. Thank you. She has no idea, though, that he's a little person. So when she meets him, can she still stay in love? That's the concept of the movie. Very deep. That is the concept of the movie. Cut 78. Caspian? And who are you? I believe you could. I'll tell you, all fantasy movies take place in Great Britain. They all do. Every fantasy film. So weird. How cool people are, Mike. So weird how Mordor was like 20 miles from London. When you watch those movies, everybody, English accent. Hey, the Empire, right? British accents. It wasn't just the Empire. The Jedi, too. Why does Eddie look offended by it? It's not offensive. Eddie knows they had English accents. Well, Eddie's saying no. It wasn't an English accent. It was a far, far away accent. It bared a resemblance. Tell him, Mike. Is that the deal? It bore resemblance. Don't bring it.
Real life into this. It's not, right? Real life Star Wars. It's galaxy. Into this goofiness. Yeah. Goofy conversation. It's a galaxy far, far away. Mike. Right next to England. You know what you're doing. Manchester. Yes. Sky did not have air conditioning this weekend. I feel you, girl. Why are you laughing at me? I feel you, girl. Yeah. You have air conditioning. I live in the deed. It's not easy. No, I know, right? It's not easy. You have air conditioning. 95 degrees. At least, yeah. You have air conditioning. I do. You should have turned it on. It didn't want to work this week. No way. You're very frugal. Well, yeah, it was weird because, like, a month ago when we had that little, like, that hot weekend, we turned it on. It didn't work. It was making us crazy. You don't run it every day? No. What? No. Aren't you hot? Like, our thermostat is always off unless we're in extreme heat or extreme cold.
No way, Jose. It's always off. So at nighttime, you're like all bundled up, and in the daytime, you're just kind of warm. Yeah, I mean, just whatever. Unless we're in extreme temperatures, there's no need to have it on, you know, to adjust. How much is your bill? Well, we're in a bigger house now. Mansion. Well, our last house, it was really cheap. Like I had bills that were like, you know, 50 bucks. So how much now? Like the low 100s. Really good. Yeah, thank you. But yeah, so like a while ago, it made this hissing noise and blah, blah, blah. And so we have the guys come out and look at it. And of course, it ran fine for them. It was pumping out nice cold air. Okay, great. Haven't turned it on since. Went to turn it on this weekend. Not so much. Not working. What about in the winter? Do you turn the heater on? Yeah, like when it's really cold.
But, like, in the wintertime. Like, basically, in the wintertime, what we'll do is we'll turn it on at night. Yeah. But we'll keep it at, you know, a decent temperature. You don't do that with the air at night? No. It's so hot. The air's never on. Oh, dude, you must be so hot. He's cool. He's just like me. No, he's not. We have a ceiling fan in the room. Oh, that just moves around hot air. Oh, it's a convection oven. Whatever. Oh, that's got to be hot. You better turn that thing on next time I come over. Well, I remember one time when we were living up in the bay, I had a little get-together at the house, and Sean and Mike are staring at my thermostat. It was like 80 degrees in the house. I remember that. It was awful. It was hot. It was hot. It was hot. It was hell. And I was like, oh, do you guys want me to turn this on? I mean, the windows are open. Oh, it was awful. It was so hot. It was the worst. It was fine. It was summer. What do you want? It was like 80. Yeah, that's why you turn the air on. That's not bad. 80's not bad. It was 80 in the house. I know. That's what I'm saying. It was like 90 outside. What about this, Eddie? If she sticks her thermostat at even 75, she'll be totally comfortable. Freezing sky. Even when we turn the air on, it's at 77, 78. Ashley's in there going, I don't even want to hear it, you guys. She has to live without an air conditioner every day. Well, she should get one. Stupid people won't let her. Her people.
Well, that's what I get for having an extra body sleep next to me every night. That's why I'm so hot, evidently. That's right. I don't understand that. Well, that's what my HOA president told me. Are you serious? I told her, I said, I don't know how you're living. I go, I'm dying in there and my dog too. And she goes, well, she goes, one thing that's helping me out is I don't have a man to sleep next to me every night. So she basically called you a whore. She basically said that because she doesn't have a boyfriend, she's less hot. So, like, now we have a joke when every time my boyfriend comes in, I'm like, oh, the place just got 10 degrees hotter. You walked in the door. Wow. And then she goes, how much is that running? And I told her, and she goes, oh, she goes, well, that's why no one else has air conditioning in here because it's so expensive. And I'm like, oh, so it's my fault that I can afford it. So is that why I don't deserve it because I can afford it and you can't? That is brutal, man. P1 Talon is on the line. Hey, good morning, guys. What's up, man? Hey, I wanted to say I saw that Chronicles of Narnia movie. How was it? It was better than the first one. The acting was a lot better, and it wasn't nearly as childish. No. They're children's stories. It's a children's story, I thought, yeah. Well, it does have kids in it, but, you know, it's got a lot of adult themes. I see. I didn't really get the impression that it was a Disney movie. There you go. Thank you very much. No problem. Online betting sites are saying David Cook, odds-on favorite to win American Idol.
Really? Yeah, 74% chance of winning. That's a high percentage. That's like if you had 74 cents in a dollar. You're right. What are they basing it on? They don't know who gets what votes. I guess based on the way people are betting, doesn't that change the odds? Like who's betting for who? I don't know. They don't say exactly how it works. That's just a guess. But it's weird because David Archuleta was the favorite from day one. And now all of a sudden this momentum swing over to David Cook, which is really weird. If you want to win good in a bet, why don't you bet on the one you think will win? Turkey. No way, Jose. Try to bet on the people that you think will do the best. Why don't you think of that? To your health. For your health. Viking Show. P1HW is on the phone. IHW. This is P1HW. Hello, HW. I called in to talk about the ACs. Ashley said she couldn't get an AC inside of her house or something like that. I went and got a portable AC over the weekend. Did you? Where? And it works really good. Where'd you get it? Home Depot. And it works pretty good? It's a little 9,000 BTU. I have about a 500-square-foot one-bedroom apartment down by the beach, and they won't let me put a window unit in. I have one.
And so I said, you know, my neighbor said, why don't you go get a portable one? They were having a sale at Home Depot, $300. They're normally like $500, $600. Probably cool it down a lot, Ash. Yeah, you know what? It worked really good. I have one of those, which I also got a guilt trip for having. You got a guilt trip for having? What the heck is going on over there? That's what I'm saying. So, yeah, I go, you know, how are you doing it over there? And she goes. Well, she goes, at least you have one of those glacier things. I can't even afford one of those. At least you have a glacier thing, which she was referring to, which was what this guy was just talking about. I have one of those, but it's broken. So it doesn't work. And it, in fact, will actually tell me how hot my room is because it's supposed to, like, cool it down. So it'll say that my room is 80 degrees, 85 degrees. That's hot. Because it's broken. So, but yeah, maybe I will just get another one. Brutal. The worst, dude. Let's see. I think I got the big stuff. Ashley Simpson got married Saturday. Whoa. Yep, her and Pete Wentz got married at her parents' house. There were about 150 guests there. Jessica Simpson was her maid of honor. Pete Wentz's dog, Hemingway, was their ring bearer. Oh, that is annoying. That is really annoying. And they had an Alice in Wonderland themed reception. Oh, wow.
It's very different. There are like 12. I can't decide who's prettier between the two of them. Like, there was a picture of them in People Mag, and they looked pretty. Look at his face! Twins practically was weird. 300-pound orangutan temporarily escaped the L.A. Zoo enclosure it was in. Yep. Bruno is his name. King Kong? Bruno. No, his name is Bruno. Budweiser. Hey, hey, rude. Yeah, this was on Saturday at the L.A. Zoo. And once they figured out that Bruno wasn't in his cage and didn't quite know where he was, they decided to start moving all the people who were there towards the exits. But then later, about 20 minutes later, they found him in a little area behind his cage, a little like holding area that isn't open to the public. Him and Clint Eastwood were back there and Clint Eastwood was like snapping his fingers at him and he was flipping off.
So they gave him a little sedative. He took a little nap and they put him back in his cage. Like a blow dart? How'd they do that? Well, they say they injected him. He wasn't aggressive. They shoot it into him with a blow dart? Well, no. I say they did. It sounds like he let the handlers, you know, approach him. Hit him right in the neck. Oh. Good one. Vandals hit the Torrey Pines golf course? Ah. Yeah. Rob. Cheers. Yeah, dude. What happened? Well, this is actually like the second time, I think, in a month that this has happened. And basically it's, let's see. I don't know if I'm going to get this right. Uh-oh. They say it's the cliffside par 3 third, the most photographed hole on the south course. I don't know exactly what that means, but that's like the location. It means you're going to get a laugh out of Rob no matter what. Right. And so they found footprints, heel marks, a vulgarity was etched in the sand, and a bunch of sprinkler heads were broken off. And then a month ago at the same hole, one of those flag sticks was used to scrape obscenities into the green surface. That's a kid.
So now they're putting up more security. They're getting fenced. They're going to have lighting at nighttime. They should. They should have that anyway. It's 20 pines. Yes. As a FBI profiler, I can tell you right now, this is a kid crime. Really? Yes. Older gentleman. I don't think this was a 44-year-old black male adult. Something tells me. That's weird. That this was a 17 to 21-year-old white male adult. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. What's up? Not too much. Hey, I just had a quick question for Ashley, if I could ask. Sure. Ash, does this, she's the HOA president, this one that's given you problems? Yes. Does she know what you do for a living? Yeah, she does. I'm wondering if that might be part of the press. Sounds like there's some, like, jealousy. Oh, definitely. She's there mentioning, like, the money thing. It was really weird, dude, yeah. Well, then this should certainly help the situation. You guys will be BFs now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This will really help.
Well, no, I mean, generally people respond to humiliation. And is her unit near your unit? She's my next door neighbor. Okay, that's also probably part of the problem. Her address is... But this is the part that's bummy, because she... She is my friend. And for her to come at me like this. It sounds like it. But now I'm hurt, which has turned into anger, which has turned into me being kind of open about it and kind of pissed. Because I'm hurt. Sad and fearful. She hurt my feelings by using all these things that I have that maybe she doesn't against me, which I've never thrown at her in any way. All I want to do is go through the proper procedure. She's giving me the roundabout. She's being really difficult. Or she's giving me the runaround. You've been giving the roundabout a couple of times. And I don't think it's fair. You know when they give you the roundabout thing where they say. I don't think it's fair. For her to throw in my face that I, you know. Here we go roundabout. About, about, about. Here we go roundabout. Anyway, I don't mean to be mean. It's coming from a place of hurt. She's hurting my feelings. There you go. This is Ashley speaking directly to her neighbor. H-O-A president. H-O-A president. I don't think that's going to help.
Me either. Mikey Show, hello. Good morning, San Diego. No! It's P1 Sanjaya. Hey, what's up, man? What's going on, dude? I had a question for Ashley. Go ahead. What the heck is that thing that she says when she goes, bing, dong, bong, bing? Oh, the tang, tang, tang, tang, tang, tang, tang. That is a thing that Shawnee plays. Yeah! That's bad, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Team America! Sean, do you have that? Yeah, hold on a second. Come on, Sean, do it. K-Mummy-Nah. Nope. Nope. Here we go. There it is. Thank you very much. I love it. Thank you. 5701053 is our phone number. Beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment, so you can call in about anything you want to and ask or comment or... Hello. Mikey Show. Yeah, hey, this is P1 Brother in Christ. Hey, I just wanted to encourage Ashley. I was having the same problems with my HOA, so my solution was...
I ran for president. That's what Sean's doing. Sean's running for HOA president. Oh, yeah? Yeah, I don't know who his running mate is. It doesn't work like that, Mike. How do you pick? And what happens? If he were to get assassinated, then the person, they would become the acting HOA president. Unless there was like an out-of-control, egotistical Secretary of State that's like, I am the acting president of the HOA. Like? Alexander Haig. Wow. Happened in 1982. I am so lost. What? Who? Do you guys know this story? I don't want to know it. When President Reagan got shot, Alexander Haig was Secretary of State and he made a public announcement that he was in charge. Oh, he did? That's kind of funny. And the vice president was like, hmm. That's kind of funny. That's interesting. I'm looking at the Constitution right now. I think I'm in charge here. That's weird. And he was like, my bad. No way. Mikey Show. Hey, it's P1 Gunslinger. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning to you. Hello.
I just wanted what we do to keep cool with no AC, Ash, is run your fan at night with the window open. And right when you get up nice and early like you do, shut all your curtains, all your windows and everything. Don't let the sun in your house. And it keeps our house 15 degrees cooler. There you go, Ash. Yeah, I do that. And it does definitely help. There you go. Mikey show. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I had a question. Mikey? Yes. Hey, I have a question. I know the whole story why Ashley had to change her name for the show, but why did Skye have to change her name? She didn't have to. Skye didn't have to change her name. Her real name is Bertha. She just doesn't care for Bertha. She doesn't care for Bertha. Well, you wanted me to change my name. Yeah, I told Skye that she was changing her name. Because at the time, at the time that Sky started working with me, that was the deal. I just changed everybody's name. And so I said, I gave her the choice. She could be called Sky, Chyna, or Holly. Alan was not an option, although looking back. That is her middle name, though. Yeah. I missed out on a good one. That's right. Thank you. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Last call. Go ahead. Hello? Oh.
Hey, great show today, guys. I miss you. I was sick all week last week, so I didn't even get to listen to you guys. And I just wanted to say thanks. You guys are so awesome, and I love your show. Thank you. Land Talented Missy is up next. Today on the Nooners, she's got double shots. So make sure you tune in. We will see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. The mic shows out late. Love your mouth. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. What's up, everybody? KIOZ San Diego's Rock Free. My HD radio has...
