Both Obama and Hill State last night in their primaries, but Obama is now only 73 delegate votes away from the nomination. Oh, the Padres, they won a game. Kevin Kuzminov's three-run home run led the Padres to win over St. Louis 3-2. Dude, a victory. A win. A win. Awesome. A W in the column. That's nice to hear. Who knew they had it in? That's right. It means it's going to be a good day. It's like when the... It's like when the groundhog sees his shadow or something. Yeah. Which I can never remember. I don't ever remember which one means what. Do you, Sky, either? No, no. I just read it whenever it's groundhog saying. Oh, yeah. That's how it works. It's funny because we hear it. You read it. We hear it every year. Oh, yeah. And we still don't remember. I think if he sees his shadow, it's tuberculosis. Oh.
I think it's a deal. I mean, if I remember correctly. If he doesn't, then Bill Murray shows up like every day. Yep. That'd be cool. Yeah. That's correct. That is correct. What would it be like if we were in a real groundhog day and we had to like relive it every day? Well, it depends. I mean, he got to do whatever he wanted. I mean, you know, and the whole money off the bank thing. So exhausting, though. The whole thing is that you have to. Not tell everybody. You can't tell anybody, right? You have to pretend that it's just happening. No one's going to believe you. Nobody will believe you anyway. Well, that's why I want to let you guys know something. Shut up. I've been reliving this day now, you guys, for four years, and I'm tired of it. Oh, yeah? It's pretty good, though, huh? Four years? Yes. Just one day. That's why I look so good. That's why I've lost this weight. It just fell off overnight. No, it took two and a half years. But for us, it was like overnight. It was like overnight. Oh, wow. Well, hello. Call us up, if you will. 570-1053 is our phone number. And you can reach us anytime during the show.
The truth is you could call us at any time. I do this thing where I say you could call us at the beginning and end of every show, and really that was born of just not knowing what else to say. Because you can call any time. If you call during the show and you just have something to say, if it's good, Rob will put you through. But he tells me about how many calls come through that he just can't put on the air because there's not much going on with it. But you can call us if you've got something you want to talk about. 570-1053 is the phone number. We'd love to hear from you. Let's see. It is Wednesday, so we've gone through half the week kind of quick. And this weekend's cool because it's going to be a three-day weekend. Eddie's going somewhere. You're doing something, right? Yeah, just going up to the folks. Nice. Will you be there all weekend long? Yes. You're going to have good food. Yes. When you go there, when you know that you're going like you are this weekend, do you request anything? Sometimes. It depends what's going on. Sometimes I'll say, hey, Dad, it's time. Hook it up. If I were his son and I were going there this weekend and I got to make a request, I would request each night. I would have something different each night. Your mom does chicken wine stew, right?
Or does your dad do it? No, my dad. Your dad does it? Yeah. Then I would request chicken wine stew first night. I'll be there two nights. Okay. First night, chicken wine stew. Is that all you get or does it come with the bread? No, no, no. I have a menu. Come on. Please. I apologize. Chicken wine stew. And I think that with the chicken wine stew, I would like risotto. Yeah, for sure. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. And night number two. I would like Roladini with pesto. Thank you. Wow. That will be my menu. His dad is outrageous, outrageous, outrageous cook. Could open a restaurant, doesn't want to. No. I am Mike, and I am 37, and I wear cologne. And I try not to wear too much of it. And the reason that I do, I stunk when I was a kid one day at school and a girl made fun of me. Ever since then, I'm telling you, man, I am the cleanest man alive. I scrub my body squeaky clean so that I smell nice all the time. Check you out. That's right. It is true. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy. And Eddie is 35 years of age, likes the Padres, gets a little.
It's a little passionate about them every once in a while. What can you do? You know what I mean? I actually had a thing happen to me with a girl in school in fifth grade that affected me for the rest of my life. What'd she do? I wore a, you know, back in the day they had those jersey shirts. They were shirts that, you know, like had the number of a player, but they were shirts. They looked like jerseys though. I had a Jim Zorn Seattle Seahawks jersey shirt. that I loved, and I wore it back-to-back days, but I washed it, but I loved it, and I wore it back-to-back days, and she made fun of me because she was like, oh, is that the only shirt you own? And from that day forward, I'm really particular about spacing out my shirts how often I wear them. Now, I know that a lot of people think that this is harsh. I believe she should have been in prison for 20 to 30 years from now. For what she did. I actually am okay with it. She was kind of right. I was ridiculous about the amount of times I wore that shirt. And she actually changed my life for better. See. But she was a jerk about it. I might have felt that way, Eddie. But then sometime in the early 90s, Bobby Brown, he came out with that song, My Prerogative, and it changed my life. Because I was like, wait a second. What Bobby is trying to say here is that I have prerogative. That's true.
And up until that point, I just didn't know that. And then I was like, whoa. It's my prerogative. Yeah, it is. I don't know any of this. It changed everything for me. The only thing she was right, I mean, it was Jim Zorn. No, Matt. Like, it wasn't a good player. No, I say, if you love that thing, it made you feel good, it's your prerogative. But whatever to that girl, man. I want to find her. What is she wearing now? What size dress are you in, lady? You can find her at Lane Bryant this afternoon at 1 o'clock. Oh, wow. Sorry, I'm projecting. I'm projecting. It's obvious. I'm projecting. You're projecting humor. That's right. Sky is our news girl. Hi, Mike. 30 years of age. Hi, Mike. How are you today? Lovely. How are you? I am good. This morning, this beautiful morning. Eddie was upset at you yesterday for eating at Benihana without him. Yes, he was. He was.
And it appears that Sky... had lunch with someone named Debra, which is cool because that's Eddie's wife's name as well. Yeah, it's quite a coincidence. Mm-hmm. That's a direct slap in my face. Whoa. What's going on? I agree with that. What happened? Eddie believes he's the only person who's allowed to eat at Benihana. That's not what I'm saying. You're wrong. What are you saying, Eddie? What's going on? Yeah, explain it. It's my favorite restaurant. You know this. Oh, wow. My wife knows this. So? So you just flaunt it in my face that you guys are going to go to lunch there. No, you read my email is what happened, and that's how you knew that's where we were going. Well, I check your email. email. Well, yeah, you were reading it over my shoulder, which is a whole other story. I'll say it is. Anyway. Thank you for clarifying that, friend. It's not right to do that to me, and it's not fair. Well, we later invited you to join us because you were throwing such a hissy, and then you didn't want to come because you said we were going to be talking about our periods all day. That's gross. I don't want to be a part of that. You know they were. Yeah, of course they were. So what's yours like? I don't know. What's yours like?
That's what girls talk about. I thought that's what you guys... That's how it goes. That's how it goes. Because I notice that girls get together a lot, and I'm like, well, what else could it be? What else could it be? Right. So, my gosh, how long is yours last? I don't even know. How long is yours last? Sounds like the Tangese River. Oh, am I joking? Okay. Okay, what? I know how it goes. We've heard. But it was good, that fried rice. Shut up. I don't want to hear you. Yummy. It was the first time I had their fried rice. No way. And I enjoyed it very much. You never had their fried rice? No. Yeah. Eddie recommended it. He talked very highly of it. And I said, you know what? Oh, no. I'm a steamed rice girl. Well, I am. I normally am. I yelled at her. I normally am. I say, look at you. You're expanding. You're getting out there. You're doing different stuff. It was lovely. All right. Yummy. Let's see. Sean. Can you get the camera down a little bit? Thank you. That's all right. Well, he didn't apologize. No, he did. I know. I read his heart. I read his heart. Oh, you did? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I found out yesterday? What? This is great, man. I'm telling you, I got the best shrink. And I believe that if you do a process of elimination, you will find in the world the best shrink. She's on my website. If you go to MikeyShow.com, you type in keyword help. She's under-resourced. This lady is the best.
Because before her, I'd only seen, like, I'd only gone to a shrink in my life maybe five times to one person at the most. Really? Yeah, because they, I'm sorry to say, they sucked. They weren't, you know? Yeah. Like, they couldn't remember me when I would go in the next time. Oh, that's bad. Yeah, but it happens. Oh, yeah. It does happen, you know? And, oh, man, she's really good. So yesterday I found out that there's a couple of different types of people. There's an intuitor and there is a, oh, what was the other one? It starts with a C. Communicator. The crap talker. No, there's the intuitor, which is what I am. And then there is the, I'll remember it later, but the intuitor. And listen and see if you're one of these people. An intuitor.
will go into, let's say, a Starbucks, okay? And leave the Starbucks. And then the other type of person walks in. And I can't remember what the other type of person is called. So let's just call them a Mr. B. They're a Mr. B. Okay. Okay, so maybe you're a Mr. B. But, so the Mr. B guy comes in and he leaves. Now, if somebody asks the Mr. B guy, Tell me about the Starbucks. They will be very specific and go, the walls were this color. There was this on sale. I noticed that there were some kind of messed up, you know, displays that needed to be straightened out. The Intuitor doesn't even see any of that. But the Intuitor can tell you about the relationship and what he was feeling vibe-wise from the person that was waiting on him.
They're really good at the vibe. They're very intuitive in that way. And so, you know, obviously with both of them, there's positives and negatives to both. You know, and like she was telling me, dude, we got it. I was going to tell Eddie this. I was going to tell him off the air, but I could tell you on the air because it doesn't matter. This was she said, and listen, if this makes sense to you, she goes with the intuitor. She goes, the intuitor will get very frustrated when they have an idea, but they can't necessarily describe the reasons for the idea, but they know intuitively that the idea is good. And then she said, and that is very frustrating for the type B because the type B is much more organized, has a much more clear thought process and has a. They can base things on experience. They can base things on, you know, she's like describing it. She's describing me and you. Because sometimes Eddie and I, all Eddie goes, Eddie will go, well, just explain, dude. Like, that's all. I just want to know how. And I go, I, and it's so frustrating because I know I'm a bright guy, but I can't describe the middle stuff. I don't know any of this. And then I say, I don't know any of this.
I don't remember what got us on that. Sean's camera. It was Sean's camera. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then Skye said, well, and I said to Sean, oh, thank you for saying you're sorry. And Skye said, well, he didn't ask. He didn't ask for it. Oh, I read his heart. Oh, look at him. Look at him. He is so sweet, right? He's so sweet on the camera. Oh, that is precious. Look, you guys. It's his little angel. Oh, my gosh, Sean. You turned that right around. I don't know what happened. Sean is 38 years of age, you guys. He's 38. And that's Shawnee. Yeah, what? Yeah, I'm not making the deal. I'm just saying you've been alive almost half a century. Wow, what an aging man. Wow. So, yeah, 5701053. Shawnee does sound effects for us.
Ashley is our assistant producer, and she's 24 years old. Let's see. Boston Rob is our phone screener, singer-songwriter, does songs for the show all the time. And he is a good young chap. He has good manners. He really has good manners. Really? He does. Yeah? He does. And then there is Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates III, Esquire, Jr. And he's a good kid. We like him a lot. P1 Gunslinger's on the line. Good morning. What's up, Gunslinger? Not much. Just driving to work, I run songs through my head and switch the words up, and Sky influenced me to write one. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, Sky does that a lot, actually. She'll start to sing her own little songs, and then she'll... What? Sometimes they're original pieces, and sometimes they'll be like regular songs, but she'll switch the words up. I like ham. That's exactly what it's about. It's called Lori Had a Little Ham. It goes something like this. Lori had a little ham, little ham, little ham. Oh, man, I screwed up. I'm sorry. Lori had a Costco ham, Costco ham, Costco ham. Lori had a Costco ham. She said was really gross.
When she had a blind taste test, blind taste test, blind taste test. When she had a blind taste test, it was what she chose. Wow. That's an accurate portrayal of a real event. Yeah. It is. And a sweet lullaby. It really is. So when she has kids, she can sing them to sleep. That is true. What I found so beautiful about that song was that not only was it gorgeous in tone, But it was just, it was based on true events. Yeah. You know? That's always special. It's really, really neat. Songwriter. Thank you so much. That's a song about, for those of you that are new listening, that's a song about Skye and her love of the food product, Ham. I hate that person for many reasons. No, that's a strong word, Skye. For many reasons. That's not true. No, I have stronger words, which I am reading from Honey Baked. I have a question.
Are these words... Multiple levels of hatred. Hang on. Are these thoughts based on the fact that we will take his first verse and play it back on the air all the time? Oh. I can't even comment on... Well, you know, we will take that. Well, we won't. Well, we won't. We really won't. That's a... What? Gold. He struck gold. Gold, yes. No, he didn't. That's right. If I were Daniel Plainview... I would want a copy of that. No. Why would you be upset about something that is real? Like, that you... It's true. Like, your love of ham is real, so... Ham. Why are you upset? I like ham. Can you not talk about this? I'm really angry right now. Cunny bait. She likes... You guys. Cunny bait. She likes ham. I mean, I was in such a good mood. For real, she was. I was, and now I, like, hate today. Ham. Stop it. You guys. With your ham. That's a lullaby. It was beautiful. I hate today. All right. Come get some ham. Oh, great. Whatever, dude, that called with the ham. P1 Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt.
Your laughter is contagious, dude. I love the way you laugh, dude. It's a good day. It makes me have a good day. Your timing on your stuff is great. Look at Sean's face as he says this. It's very awesome, dude. He's uncomfortable. It's okay. V-Rob. Dude, the world would be a better place if everybody was laid back as you did. You're cool, dude. I appreciate that. These are very nice, kind words for each member of the show. Yes, that's what I'm doing here. Thank you. Let me see. Ashley, dude, what can I say, dude? You are just so funny. It's a toast. This is a toast. I'm really enjoying this. This is a toast. I'm funny. Let me continue. Yes, please. You are funny, you are cute, and the show just wouldn't be there with you. It's great. Thank you. You do a lot of good work there. It's really nice of you. Let me see. Eddie, oh my God, Eddie. I am so amazed at the wealth of knowledge helping your cranium, dude. You are so... Eddie just gave the hand signal like an Italian, like, yeah. Assamore. Assamore. Assamore. I don't know because he doesn't talk. So I don't really know you, bro. Sure, you're a good guy. I'm stoked that you're in the show. I'm stoked that what you do, you're kind of quiet and outspoken. But you know what? That's all right. Aw. Mikey, dude. Mikey, you inspired me to be a better person just the way you're honest and, you know, the things that you say.
You're awesome, dude. Thank you. To you. You're awesome, dude. I love the way you love Christ. I love Christ, too. Thank you. And Skye. What can I say, Skye? Go eat some ham. That's... Oh, Skye just... Oh, no! This is bad. Let's turn this around. Took a turn. There was a toast. Why was she not like a toast? It's her favorite thing. Go eat some ham. Like, how is that... Everyone got a compliment and I got, I got, that's not even a compliment. It's an order. It's an order. You can go eat some ham. You are a jerk. I can talk you into it. I can talk her into it. I can tell her why that was great. Somebody better call back and better make that woman happy. Yes. It's not even 630. She's our news girl. You have to understand. This is our radio wife. You've upset our radio wife. Do something, somebody. Will somebody please figure this out? Please. You guys. This is bad. I recognize. We are at level 30 right now. This is bad. I'm telling you, it will not be good. Do something.
I don't know that this is a wise choice. I don't like this. Hello? Hey, guys, it's Barbara. Barbara, be careful. Spread lightly. I just was going to make a suggestion. Okay. What about Xanax? If we had some right now. If we had some right now. Yeah. That would help. It's been a real miracle in my life. It really has. Well, I don't know. You know, I just know that when I started facing some really hard times, that Xanax just changed everything for me. Well, you're not supposed to use that. And so I just wanted to tell her that if you take it as prescribed, sometimes... Oh, gosh. That's probably not how it's supposed to be prescribed. Hello? Hello? Who is this? Oh, is that you, Ashley? What were you calling about? No, you called us. You called us, you say? No. Well, yeah, wait. What? All right. I was calling to...
prescribe Xanax. That's what I was doing. Well, you can't prescribe it. You're not a doctor. You don't know what I prescribe. Oh, yuck. Weirdest, creepiest call from Barbara ever. Barbara, unfortunately, she doesn't realize that Xanax is not good. It won't do any good for her. She didn't realize that. But it looks like she cheered Sky up. You know, you can tell. Please help her. All right. Well. I mean, her mic isn't even anywhere near her mouth. Yeah, she won't even bring it near. I mean, this is threat level red, you guys. Yeah, high alert. P17 Up says that he has another song for Sky, but I wonder. Mike. Rob. I wouldn't do it right now. Then why did you play it through? It's open phones. You told me in the hallway, I'll fire you if you don't. Wait. Hang on. I say, right now, we need a Sky Cheer Up stat. Yeah. Sky Cheer Up stat. Stat. Uh-huh. Eddie's looking at her right now, and I see it on his face. He says, Eddie just did the lock. Yeah. He did the lock. He's not talking. I know my friend. He did the lock of the... This is bad. Listen. It sucks because she was in such a great mood.
Man, right before. Oh, boy. Mikey Show. Yes, I'm calling in about Skye. Are you going to cheer her up? Yes. Thank you. She's so awesome. Thank you. Talk about it. That's it? How great she is. Was that it? She's very, she's very great. That's it? Yeah, we believe in the same, I believe everything she believes with the, all her beliefs are just right up my alley. There we go, there we go, Skye. That's it? That's you, girl. Well, Skye? Yeah, Skye. Skye says thank you. Wow. Skye says. Anything else you want to talk about? Thank you. That's it? She's cool, and you guys should leave her alone. Yeah, yeah. Are you kidding? We asked you to call and cheer her up. Well, this went well. Skye. No, it did not. He is against the war. You are against the war. You two are. Go green. Go green. Kindred souls. Thank you.
Love cats. Are you a cat lover? Yeah, because you guys are beating up on her. That's why. That's why she is a cat lover. She didn't even like cats until we started to beat up on her, and then she went to the pound. Thank you. Thank you. That's right, because we beat up on Skye. All right. She now has three cats. Skye's upset about that because she's like, great, cats in a home where they're not really wanted. Oh, no. Well, this went well. Cats look awesome. Well, thank you for the call. Sorry. I hope that helped. Should we take one more? Could be a cheer up. You're saying I don't do it. Okay, fine. Then I will not. You should. Sean says I should. Sean, you are not in this room. Sean, you are not in this room. You are not. Okay. It's on Sean. It's on Sean. Sean. I accept that. Mikey Show.
It is Mikey, and you are on the air, and we are cheering Sky up. There you go. It's funny. It's a little funny at your expense. At your expense. Yes. It shows people up. It shows people up and brings joy and laughter to thousands of San Diego driving to work. And so you can know that all of a sudden people are kind of mean you are a source of joy for many. Sky, what do you think of that? Oh, Sky gave the thumbs down. That means the lions come into the Coliseum and attack you and then eat you, sir. Denied. Denied. What do you think about that? Okay, well. Oh, perfect. All right. Thank you very much. We really appreciate it. I don't. Our text number is 35253. Guess who's on the show today? Who? The colonel himself, Jerry Coleman. Come on. That's right. Wow.
Well, you can hang a star on that one. You can hang a star on that one. We'll be talking to Jerry Coleman and ask his feelings on gay marriage. See what he... No. Probably not a good thing to ask the Colonel. Is it because he's 78 years old? Different generation. Yeah, different generation. Different generation. We are going to play the song about Ashley's gas again. We're going to do something called Sean TV, which is fantastic. And is there going to be a new Dirty Harry movie? All of these questions will be answered. Who is this, Rob? Bravery. Bravery? Yeah. Is that a band? Yeah. So don't go away. We'll be right back. Stand Up Spotlight, 053. Inventions intrigue me. I was reading about the walkie-talkie, and I read it was a military invention. That surprised me, because usually military stuff has strong names, you know? Apache Helicopter.
Hawk missile. Walkie-talkie? How did that slip through the system? It's a general talking to some guy? What do you have there, soldier? Well, it's a new communication device. It's untethered, which will enable the troops to speak effectively when they're in the field. What's it called? Walkie-talkie. Look, I'm walkie and I'm talkie. Now you walkie and talkie, general. I'm walkie and talkie. Are you walkie and talkie? I like it, soldier. Hey, check this out. Did you know that a just-completed survey of AIS clients shows an average savings of $850 per year? For Harvey Paloma, souvenir salesman was not on his game. Maybe it was a little pause grabbing plastic batting helmets or constantly yelling, get your souvenirs here. But mostly it was people with hot dog breath screeching about phone finger prices. Harvey was in need of a timeout, so he shut the door to his merchandise stand and headed to the rafters, where he took a timeout and took in the game. Sure, fans picked the lock and robbed him blind, taking every jersey, cap, and gaudy pennant that wasn't nailed down. Sure, he was forced into bankruptcy, but for 60 seconds, he was in the Raptors and in the zone. by Sleep Train Mattress Center. A big problem coming out of the South Bay and Northbound 5 this morning. You might want to give yourself some extra time or take the 805 instead. Northbound 5 right now backed up here approaching the South Bay Freeway, and that's just a crawl all the way up to a bad rollover accident that turned into a car fire here just past the 15. Right lane is blocked, and a traffic alert says shoot advising you to avoid that whole switch of freeway. The Northbound 805, on the other hand, looking pretty good. You will find some slow traffic, though, coming over Michigan Valley up towards around Mesa College. Briefly again into Kearney Mesa approaching Balboa. Westbound 794 looking good into downtown, but you will find a bit of a slowdown from Euclid making that turn on to the northbound 805. The west 8 this morning is a fine-looking ride out of the east county. That's clear all the way to Mission Valley. South 15, a little tough out of Escondido off the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. Reduced speeds again through Rancho Bernardo. And your coaster ride on southbound 5 picking up brake lights out of Encinitas approaching Santa Fe Drive down to Solana Beach. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105.3. Mikey Show. Hey. Hey.
I never, ever get through, and I'm up early enough today to finally get through. I wanted to tell Mikey about Sleep Train. I got a deal there that will beat anything I've ever heard on the radio, ever. You're the best. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, dude. Sleep Train's great. What did you get? What kind of mattress? Okay, Simmons Beauty Rest. Isn't that what you have, Sky? Yeah, I think so. Yeah? Simmons Beauty Rest. It was a $6,000 mattress they gave to me for half price. Whoa. That's awesome. And they threw in pillows. A sheet set, a bed frame, and a mattress pad. Word. What? For free. That's the way it goes at Sleep Train. That's true. Oh, I bet it's so freaking comfortable. Like a cloud. Oh, I want it. But yeah, it's a Simmons Beautyrest. They even broke down the difference between the best ones and the lower end ones. And I guess the only thing better is what you got is a Stearns and Foster. I love it. California King Ultra Soft. It was $59.95. They gave it to me for $29.95 and gave me everything I just said free. Everything. All right. A 600-thread count sheet set for free. You're awesome. Thank you for calling. Okay. This is The Mikey Show. I think it's cool. Featuring Mikey. Mikey is a very judgmental jerk, and I fight that. I do not like Killer Whales, no. Okay. Sky. No, I have Koozie Club. Sean. Boston Rob. I got short-term memory loss. No, I can't.
And Ashley. I'm not that great anyways. I'm kind of crazy. The Mikey Show's on. Come on, shake and bake. Rock 105.3. Like we always do with this time. I chose that song specifically because it said, throw your hands up in the sky. Precious. It's 641. Christy Yamaguchi was crowned the winner of Dancing with the Stars last night. NBA playoffs last night. Boston wins game one of their conference finals. Over Detroit, Kevin Garnett says the team had tons of energy. I thought we had a lot of energy. We came in, we practiced, we had to go over their stuff. But we have our turn. We got to go, man, and that's what you got to do. You got to suck it up and you got to play. So I thought tonight we had a good energy. Some of the text messages we're getting at 35253. Sky, I just wanted to tell you that you're an intelligent and beautiful woman. Keep your chin up, sign P1, crazy fists. Thank you. Sky, you're awesome.
No one is more normal on the show. You're the backbone of the show. P1 Dallas. We love you incredibly, Sky. Our day would not be good without you. Signed P1 Panda. A Mikey show. I live in North County and the other day I saw Sky and freaked out. Sky, you are so gorgeous and one of the funniest people on the air. Signed P1 Stone Driver. Mikey, I love Sky. Three exclamation points. She's my role model. One exclamation point. I think that's telling. She loves you. She loves you. The person loves you. Why? You hate to interpret. Because I think that what they want you to know is I love you more than I consider you a role model. I don't know. I don't know any of this. She would rather be the role model than be loved. Oh, I got him confused. It was three exclamation... Just stop. I should have just shot you. Yeah, right. Skye, I went on a cruise last year and both Skye and her husband were both really cool and laid back. Cheer up, Skye, that's P1 tuna. You rocked my...
Sky, would you like this? Yes, I'm going to frame it. Yes, that will cheer you up throughout the day. Back to the show. Ah, what a morning. Right? It's already started off with a bang, you know? Ridiculous. Our boy Zeth said something funny in his email to me where he's telling me what happened with him yesterday. He said that Clint from the BC and Clint show accidentally pocket dialed him three times last night. What? You know, like cell phone mishaps. He said the last one left a 15-minute voicemail. Holy moly. Yeah, three times all after 10 p.m. last night. See if you can get Clint on, Ash. Anything juicy in that voicemail? I don't know what was going on because I think it was just in his pocket. I could kind of hear him talking, and I heard his wife as well, and it's like I couldn't.
I couldn't hear anything. I couldn't make out anything. I could just tell the sound of his voice because Clint has a pretty distinct voice. Were they talking about how into Jeff and Jer they are and how they love that show? It was actually Tony and Chris, but yeah. So we were close. There you go. There is a pretty good piece of video that came from Sheriff's Mounted Dash... Cam? Is that what they call it? Dash Cam? Yeah. And I don't know where it's from, but we're going to get all that info for you because you're going to see it all over the news today. It's one of these things that they're showing about a billion times. We left a message for Clint, so we'll have Clint call us back. That should be a pretty funny story. Ashley's, just to update, Ashley's neck still in pain. Excruciating. What should she do? What would be good for that? What do you do? I need a neck brace. Oh, you don't. I don't like that. No, yeah, she does. She does. I think something snapped in there. I believe. Rob, you only are saying that because of the humor value in it. You're not saying it out of direct concern for her. You just think. I know a doctor and.
Okay. Pretty much, you should put it on a neck brace at the slightest wear and tear of it. He's doing that for last. See, that's what I've heard. And that's the only reason he's doing it. That's what I've heard. Let's take some of your phone calls. Hey, P1, Harold was at American Idol last night. Whoa. He was there. Harold, are you there? That's crazy. I came across some tickets, and I got to go to the finale last night. It was sick, man. You know, Harold is a friend of mine, and he wrote me an email saying it, and you know what I thought he meant? You know what I thought you meant, dude? What's that? I thought that you meant... The concert that they do during the summer where they take them all on tour. No, man, I was at the finale. I got to be there for the rehearsals and everything. It was amazing. I didn't realize that that was the deal, man. I didn't realize that you were actually going to American Idol. I signed up for, put my name on a waiting list six months back and got an email about four days ago saying I could go to the finale. Dude, that's really awesome. So what was the experience like? It was crazy. Right when you walk in, you know, they got all the American Idol stuff. It was like walking into like an amusement park. That's cool. It was crazy, and there was over 7,000 people there. I actually had pretty good seats. Where were you sitting? I was kind of off to the left side of the stage, if you were looking out into the audience, about halfway back. Okay, so if the performers were standing on stage looking out into the audience, you were on the left. That's correct.
Okay. And how far back did you say you were? About halfway back. Oh, wow. Yeah, it wasn't too bad. It was perfect seats. I couldn't complain. I wasn't too close to the front where it was too loud, and I wasn't too far away to see. So you got to see the actual, basically, the final performances. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was right there. It was pretty amazing. The rehearsals, David Cook actually sounded better than Archuleta. But then... My personal opinion, during the actual performance when they actually were live, Archuleta took it home, man. Really? Easy. So what do you think will happen tonight, Harold? You know, it's going to be close because when they were, you know, all the little girls were screaming for their favorites. Yeah. It seemed like there were a lot more people screaming for Cook than there were Archuleta. But he came out and did a way better job, I thought. So do you think that David Cook will win tonight? You know, I'm 50-50 on it, to be honest. It's a coin toss. Do you guys, Eddie and Sky and everybody in the world listening right now, far away at sea, that are listening in Iraq on the internet, everyone listening in terrestrial countries and other planets. My question to you is, do you guys think that this is a pretty close race or is it a no-brainer? What do you guys think? It should be a no-brainer, but it is going to be close because...
It's a popularity contest that has nothing to do with them singing. If it were a straight singing competition, Archuleta killed it last night and clearly destroyed Cook. Like, it wouldn't even be close. I was so pissed because I was trying to vote for Archuleta last night, and it was busy, busy, busy. I wonder how many phone calls they got. Slammed. They announced the winner tonight. Yeah. So the American Idol will be announced tonight. This will be the only night I watch TV. Wow. And I'll watch it on the East Coast feed to find out who wins. Yeah. Last night was infuriating, though. Like, I hated the whole format of... Talk to me. I was angry. Harold, thanks for the call. They did this boxing thing. So the show kicks off with the mic coming down from the ceiling and the dude doing the whole let's get ready to rumble. You didn't like it, Sky. And then between each, like... Well, let's hear that part because we have that part, but you didn't like this. You hated it. Now, let me walk through this with you. Like, I wanted to text Eddie because I knew Eddie was watching WTF. Like, I... Exclamation question, exclamation question, exclamation question. Yes. Sky, isn't it funny how, as Americans now, we think in text message, like we think in how we would write stuff. Yeah.
So, Sky, is it because you hate change? It's unnecessary. I mean, they have the guys dressed in robes, different colors. They're giving their stats. They have Jim Lampley doing, like, commentary. For the most popular show on television, it's one of the dorkiest shows. Yes. Like, when they make them do their, like, Up With People songs and, you know, those goofy Ford commercials they do. Yeah. And then they do these things when they, you know, like, Sky's right. It's unnecessary. They have Michael Buffer. It's like a whole boxing theme. And these two dorky singers who look dumb in their boxing robes and boxing gloves. I mean, it's like, oh, dude. And imagine being them. Imagine being them. No choice. You have no choice. Like, basically, they're dressing you up like a bunny rabbit with lipstick on. Pretty much. And you're like, okay. I have to do it. Yeah. They're like, we want you to wear a jumpsuit that has a big rainbow on it. And it says, you know, I'm totally gay for gay. You have nothing to say about it, dude. And after you take that jumpsuit off, we want you to come back out and we want you to ride in a little Ford Focus and talk about how cool the Ford Focus is. And you're like, but dude, I would never drive it. Sorry, Charlie. Too bad. Sing about it. And then we want you to sing, this is the dawning of the age of Aquarius. Yeah.
Right after you get out of the gay jumpsuit. But I would never sing that song. No, no, no. In a million years, I would never sing that song. Hang on, Eddie. Not only do we need you to sing it, but we need you to sing it. And one of the things that we've noticed through research and getting some feedback from data is that what the audience really wants, and what we're talking about is specifically 50-year-old women, what we have found and what we need you to do to reach that money demo is we need you to, as you're singing the Aquarius song, Smile really big. I'm the cool rocker of the show. You have me doing goofy choreography and smiling, and it's not me. No, we need you to smile, and what we're going to do is we're going to have Josh, our assistant executive producer, standing off the side stage, and when we don't feel that you're smiling enough... I'm not going to do this. We're going to hold up a cue card that says, smile. I don't want to do this. How awful. Well, then, here's my favorite part of American Idol, the finale, is you know how every year they make them sing that schmaltzy, terrible, you know, like finale song? Yes. Like a moment like this. Yes. Like Kelly Clarkson. Well, this year they decide to do the songwriting contest and let the two contestants pick a song that was submitted from the songwriting contest.
So viewers of American Idol throughout the country wrote a song and sent it in. Yeah, they sent in songs and they let these two goofballs pick their songs. Like they really did anyway. It's my favorite because then the judges bash them because they hate the song choice. And I'm like, dudes. Judges, can you figure out this format? First of all, they didn't pick that song. They hate that song that they just had to sing. And why would you even bring that up? Do the executive producers even talk to you and say, hey, you know how you guys bash these songs every year? They either don't do them anymore or don't bash them because it doesn't make any sense. So let's hear the goofy introduction. Was Jim Lampley really there or no? What, I mean, doing a thing? General Ampli's really on it. In between every song, he did like a little boxing analogy. Oh, so the whole night? In the first round, the fighters need to blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Save their energy. So wait, this wasn't just an opening bit. No, it was all night. All night. Oh, dude. Theme night. Awful, man. Cut one. Oh, that's so cheese ball. You guys are ready, I'm sure, at this point. Like, already. Immediately.
Immediately irritated. And the thing is, is that I know this. When I did watch American Idol last season, I hated this stuff. They get us. We get invested in it, so we're still watching. So we hate it, but we're still watching. What's funny is that my mother and father, they love this stuff. They're 72. So there's people that really love it. They're 72. Unpause. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Nokia Theater LA Live. And the main event, this is the fight of the century. Scheduled for three rounds of competition. So let's get real from Blue Springs, Missouri. Goodness, they should have made him sing like that. Holding the microphone with a glove. Yes. 100 pounds soaking wet. He's the humble pride of Murray, Utah. Ladies and gentlemen, David.
And it's coming to you live. Ladies and gentlemen, this is America. Did David Cook bite Archuleta's or David Archuleta's ear off halfway through the performance? I wish he would have. That would have made it more amusing, right? It really would have. So they both performed last night. So what do you think, Eddie? Is it going to be Cook or Archuleta? Again, like I said, if it was based on last night, based on, you know, there is. singing portion, it was Archuleta by a million miles, but we know that Idol is very much a popularity contest, so who knows? Skye? Yeah, I agree. It's 50-50. It could go either way. Archuleta sounded better, but, you know, who knows? Dad, are you there? Yeah. Did you watch American Idol last night? Yeah, I watched that, and I watched Dancing with the Stars. Okay. Dad, who won Dancing with the Stars?
Chrissy Yamaguchi. Chrissy Yamaguchi, my dad says. My dad says American Online. And so, Dad, it's Chrissy. Chrissy Yamaguchi. He knows. Yep, yep. And, Dad, do you think that that's who should have won Dancing with the Stars? Yeah. I mean, you know, she was flawless. She got perfect. All right, now here is my question for you, Pop. American Idol, they had Michael Buffer come out and do Let's Get Ready to Rumble. They had a whole boxing theme and everything. What did you think? I didn't get to see that part because I was watching Dancing with the Stars. Oh, you were going back and forth. Yeah, yeah. And it was just kind of supposedly a retake, so I figured, well, I'll watch American Idol and then I'll switch over to Dancing with the Stars. So did you see any of the performances on American Idol? Yeah, yeah, I saw the performances, all of them. Who do you think will win? Boy, that's a good question, Mike. You know, my favorite, of course, is Archuleta because of the songs that he sings. The other... His last name. Yeah, his last name sounds a little Mexican. And Cook, hey, Cook does not sound Mexican at all, Dad.
The name Cook does not sound even remotely Mexican. Archuleta's mom could be Hispanic. I think it's going to be Archuleta. You do? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I think it's going to be him. Now, did you watch it with mom or was mom in another room? You're not going to believe it. She fell asleep. Oh, I don't believe it. So she didn't see any of it? Yeah, she saw part of it. Did she get her for you? Well, my question. Yeah, let me talk to mom. Okay, hold on a minute. We're very late, but we got to talk to mom. I love you. She's coming on the air. I love you, Danny. I love all you guys. You love me, too. You love me, too, Dad. You can say it. It's not gay to say it, Dad. What about your son? You love me. I swear you do. He does a lot. I know you do. It's in there. Esther! In that heart. I think she's on, Mike. I love you, Dad. I love you, guys, too. You won't say it publicly like that. Just be intuitive. Ma, did you see the performances on American Idol? Yeah.
And what did you think? Oh, my God, Mike. Archuleta. Archuleta all the way? Oh, yes. Okay. Now, do you do realize, though, that there's a lot of those little girls, they like David Cook. They might vote for him. Uh, no. Okay. I like him a lot. Yeah. But Archuleta just really did it last night. Hey, Dad says that he missed. The whole Let's Get Ready to Rumble guy, he didn't get to see any of that stuff. Did you see any of that? Let's Get Ready to Rumble? Yeah, on American Idol, they had that guy that says Let's Get Ready to Rumble. They had him introducing the whole show, and they had the two contestants dressed in boxing gloves and a robe and stuff. No, I didn't see that at all. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess you both missed it. But you did see the performances. Oh, yeah. Archuleta all the way. Oh, my God. He's my guy. Did you see any of Dancing with the Stars? Every time he sings, Mike, he makes me cry. Because he's so sentimental. Yeah, he's got a very sensitive heart. Yeah, yeah. Hey, Mom, did you see any of Dancing with the Stars? Yeah, that's why we missed the other one. Yeah, yeah. And who won Dancing with the Stars? Oh, my goodness.
What the heck is his name? No, her name. It's a woman, actually, Mom. Sometimes she can't tell the genders because, you know, and she blames it on, well, you know. But, all right, Ma. You know my... I know. It was Christy Yamaguchi. I was asleep by then. Oh, okay. All right, Ma. I love you. I love you, too. There you go. All right, thank you. Bye-bye. Your parents are the best. See, she'll say it, you know, because she's a woman. But my dad, you know... His generation, he's like, oh, it's gay. You know, you're telling a guy you love him. That's just gay. We got to take a quick time out. When we come back, we're going to have real fun stuff, so don't go anywhere. We still have Lyrical Gangsta to play. That song about Ashley's gas. Sean TV. It started on the northbound 5 with a bad rollover accident that turned into a fully engulfed car fire just past the 15. That's still there wrapping up blocking red lanes, but you're on the break from the 5 northbound from before the South Bay freeway all the way up past the 15 connector. 805 now getting heavy as people are using this as an alternate this morning. That's backing up from the South Bay 54 as well all the way into North Park.
And now you've got some slow traffic developing out of Kearney Mesa, heading up over that 52. West 94, tight from Kelton now to the 805. A few more brake lights from the 15 in towards downtown. Your 8 ride westbound out of the east county this morning hasn't been too bad, but you're starting to pick up a few more brake lights here from right over the Grossmont Summit past Severn Drive. Heavier still from Jackson Drive now in towards Lake Murray. But once you clear out of Lake Murray, you're good to go all the way to Mission Valley. West 52, a little slow off to 125, now up to the top of the summit at a Santee. There's South 15 staying rough out of Escondido, off to 78 to Villarancho Parkway. Slowing again, reduced off and on to Rancho Bernardo, over Lake Hodges, and the coaster rides. South 5 stays quite tough out of Lucadia, all the way to Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Great visual, Eddie. The Mikey Show continues. Welcome back to The Mikey Show. It is 7-16. After suffering a seizure last week, Senator Edward Kennedy has been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Chicago wins the NBA draft lottery for the first pick. Miami and Minnesota are two and three. I wonder if anybody in our audience has the Paris Hilton perfume so that I can smell it. I want to know what Paris Hilton's perfume smells like. Do we have any prizes? Yeah. What do we have? We got random stuff. We got random stuff. If there's any woman in the audience that is listening that wears the Paris Hilton perfume. I want to see what it smells like and I want to know what Paris Hilton smells like. And apparently she has a new perfume. And call us, by the way, if you've ever worn it or if your chick wears it, your wife or your girlfriend. And, you know, I want to know what you think of it and what it smells like. She was on Showbiz tonight and she has a new one now. Cut 34. What part of Paris do we see in Can Can?
Well, Can Can is very romantic. It's probably my most mature out of all my fragrances so far. And it's just a very sexy, sensual fragrance. And guys will like it. Here is the same deal. Showbiz tonight, they're asking her about her grandfather, saying that he's going to give his fortune to charity instead of her. Cut 35. As an heiress, it now looks as if you stand to perhaps inherit a little less than the rest of the world expected you to. Did your grandfather's decision take you by surprise there than announcement that he had? Go to the next question. Weird. That is weird. Dude, what is that? I guess it did. For real? Like, so, first of all, I didn't know if that was, like, real. So her grandfather really said that? Yeah. That he's going to give his fortune to charity and not her? Yeah. Yeah, her or her sister. Really? Oh, my goodness. I just don't remember. I'm sure we said it, right? Yeah. Yeah. Now, I looked, and Paris Hilton has a lot of different perfumes. Oh, really? I didn't know. She has Paris Hilton. She has Air. She has Airis. She has Just Like Me. She has, yeah, Can Can. No way. Different ones, yeah.
Yeah, we have chicks calling in right now. I want to know what they smell like because I love perfume on women. I love perfume on women. I think perfume is great. Let's see. Mikey Show, who's this? Hello? Hi. Hi, who's this? This is Leslie. Leslie. How old are you? I'm 30. And it's really, really embarrassing. I have her heiress. Heiress. Now, was that the first one? No, I think it was her second one, I believe. And can you describe it? It's kind of fruity, smelling, very clean. Oh, man, I want somebody to come down here so I can smell it. Right. I wish I could. I'm on my way to work, and if I didn't have to work today, I would totally come down there because I'm wearing it right now, as a matter of fact. Do you get comments on it, or nobody just made it? Oh, yeah. No, I get comments all the time. And they say they like it. Yeah, they just say, oh, that sounds really good, very clean. Oh, I got to smell it, man. I tell them, I don't know who it is. I got it as a gift. It's so funny. No way. Yeah. Dude, Paris Hilton would trip out to hear that because you know she feels like she has a handle.
on that whole image thing and chicks are going to buy this because I've created this image that's very, you know, sort of dangerous and, you know, and sexy and cool and hip. A 30 year old woman is saying, I don't remember what it's called. Someone gave it to me. I don't, I don't know any of this. There's a couple of perfumes that I don't tell people what I wear either. So I don't know. Give me an example. Give me an example. One of Kate Ashley Olsen or Mary Kate Ashley Olsen. No way. Oh, man. No way. I don't tell people I wear it. What does it smell like? That's crazy. It's kind of the same as Eris. It's very clean and fruity. I like that. Be honest. Does it smell like bubblicious bubble gum? No. No, no, no, no. And cigarettes? And cigarettes. No. Thank you very much for the call. P1 Annie. Hi. I'm wearing the Paris Hilton. It's in the pink bottle with the black stripes. It actually smells very fresh, and you can wear it whenever, when formal or even normal, it smells great. That's the self-titled one. It's just called Paris Hilton. It's just called Paris Hilton. Yeah, I mean, it doesn't have any other name on it. Do guys ever tell you that it smells good? Well...
Yeah, I mean, yeah, I've had people say it smells good, and, you know, my boyfriend loves it, so. Oh, my gosh. Your boyfriend. Speaking of boyfriend. My boyfriend. For your boyfriend to love you, and for you to love your boyfriend, like I love my boyfriend, and I do love him. I love him. So much. Well, are you near the radio station right now, Annie? I'm actually on the 5 in traffic over by, like, National City. Anyway, you're willing to take the day off work to come down here so that I can see what this stuff smells like? If I could, I would. I'm sorry. This traffic is, like, kind of backing up because there was an accident. All right, don't worry about it. Thank you very much. Okay, thank you. That's sexy. Yeah, she kind of has that line. She kind of has that. That's sexy. I smell good. Do you want know-it-all that's on the air?
Yeah, I bought the new Paris Hilton perfume for my wife for Christmas this year. And it was kind of, you know, like most guys in the last minute shopping thing. And perfume is always a good, you know, Christmas gift. And she had, wasn't very happy with just because of the name. I actually liked the smell. I enjoyed the smell too. But she's 35, you know, so she was kind of unhappy because of Paris Hilton name. That's so funny. Dude, I'm telling you, if I bought. Rebecca, my wife, Paris Hilton perfume, she would laugh in my face. She would think it was a joke. She would think I did it as a joke. Now, maybe she would wear it and she would do the same thing like, oh, I don't remember what it is. Well, it's funny because you know the perfume companies like courted Paris Hilton to do a fragrance because they're like, her name alone is going to sell this stuff. But the women will wear it, but they're ashamed to say her name. They're not selling more perfume by wearing it. No. Oh, man. Hey, listen, if there's a chick that's wearing it and, you know, then please. Because there are certain things that you will have that you will wear or that you will, you know, it's like it's like guys wearing Air Jordans. You know, back in the day, Air Jordan was a big deal. You what you that image tells people. Well.
The image is supposed to tell people how cool you are. It's like I remember when I was in school when kids would carry certain lunchboxes. And for whatever reason, that lunchbox had like a vibe to it. I never had that. You never had a lunchbox? I didn't have a lunchbox. How could you not have a lunchbox? Dude. That's crazy. I, this is what I remember about, okay. I believe I did have a lunchbox, but this is what I remember throughout childhood. Whatever the cool thing was, was never available when we went to get it. It was always sold out. Like whatever, if I saw something great and I wanted it and we went to go get it, it was gone because it was popular and it was gone. So I would have to, like if it was like, I'm just giving you a for instance. If it was Star Wars, I wasn't going to get the Luke Skywalker Star Wars box. I was going to get, like, some bizarre droid unit lunchbox, you know? Like, that no one knew who... It wasn't even R2-D2. It was, like, the red one. The R4. Yeah, R5-D4. Whatever. Or the power droid. Yes. Okay. Show-offs. Yes. ID-88, maybe. Yes. We get it. But that would always be the deal. Did you guys have lunchboxes? Dude. Duh.
Of course. Of course. And you're talking the cool metal lunchboxes with the thermoses. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course. Of course. Dude, I rock the coolest. Star Wars lunchbox ever. Of course. Eddie, what was the secret to getting a good one? Did you go to some... Just go to the store. Just had them. Yeah, I mean, at the store, they had a lot of variety of lunchboxes. Grocery store? I mean, I was a kid. I don't remember where I got them at. More like a Target or like a Longs, even. Walgreens. What did we have? Kmart. Yeah, Kmart, Longs. I also rocked the Clash of the Titans. which was pretty sweet. That'd be cool. Kids got judged on their lunchbox. There was a kid that, I'm not kidding, had a Hee Haw lunchbox that we made fun of relentlessly. Hee Haw. Do you remember anything about him? He's weird. You don't remember if he actually liked Hee Haw? You don't remember that, right? No, I don't remember.
But, I mean, even if you like Hee Haw, you don't rock the Hee Haw box. Don't rock the Hee Haw box. It's terrible. See, like, even... I don't know if this is... Excuse me. I don't know if this is wrong, but this is the way it's going to be at our house. Even if Jake is in to Hannah Montana, I'm going to say to Rebecca, sorry. Mike! I agree with you. I agree with you. You'll save him. You'll save him. Get my wife on the phone. You will save him. We've never talked about this. That is brutal. No, it isn't. Honestly, I honestly think that that is the most kind-hearted thing you can do. I am going to let him be who he wants to be. Uncle Eddie says no. Uncle Eddie says no. I will have already had bought him an Iron Man lunchbox. We're good. We're fine. I think there's two things. I think you lead the right direction. You know, you lead towards Iron Man. You lead away from Hannah Montana is one way you do it. And I think the other thing is, yeah, I want to let him be who he is, but I don't want him to be abused. And I'm smart enough to know what's going to happen with that sucker at school. Forget it. Sky, what would you do? I would explain to him. I would say, you know, hey, son, you know, most.
Most boys don't do Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana normally is a girl thing. And I just want to let you know that if you bring the Hannah Montana, I'll buy you the Hannah Montana lunchbox, you know, and we can put your dinner in it and whatever. But if you bring it to school, kids are going to tease you. But if he goes, Mom, I don't care. I don't care if kids tease me. I want to bring it to school. Then I'll be like, okay. Okay, you're gay. If he says that... I don't know. It doesn't matter to me. If my kid said... Eddie just made a fist and shook it at Skye. If he still said he wanted to, I guess I would say, okay. I wouldn't say that they're going to make fun of you. I would say, there is a chance that kids will tease you for this one. Hey, honey. Yeah. I got a question. Yeah. If we... We're talking about lunchboxes. I didn't have a lunchbox. Yeah. Did you have a lunchbox? Um, yeah. What was it? Um, it was something really generic, you know, like a Tupperware lunchbox. Oh, those were not, see, that's what I think I had. Yes, I had a square yellow Tupperware lunchbox and it snapped on the top. It snapped, it had these two.
rubber band things, rubber band Tupperware things, and they came together in the middle and they snapped closed. Yeah. Is that what you had? Yeah, but you know, I went to a really small school and the cool lunchboxes weren't popular, you know, so I didn't feel, you know, dorky or anything. Okay, now let's talk about lunchboxes. If we had Jake going to school and he wanted to take like a Hannah Montana lunchbox, I was saying I would probably say, no, I don't think we should do that. What would your take be? You don't think we should do that because it's Hannah Montana? Yeah, and I think he may get a little ration of you know what with a Hannah Montana lunchbox. Bye-bye. Maybe we should get him Iron Man. Well, I mean, I think that we should get him what he's interested in. He loves Iron Man. No, the question was he wanted a Hannah Montana lunchbox. He's confused. He didn't realize. Babe, do we owe it to him to say, well, Jake, I don't know. Do the little boys have the Hannah Montana ones? No. We do not owe it to him to say that. I love a bad guy. You have separate conversations. You're good.
See, you're upsetting him. Oh, he's upset. You're upsetting him. Hey, babe. Yeah? Can you get him to sing? Um, yeah. Do you want to sing, buddy? Do you want to sing? He wants to read. We're reading this morning. Oh, you're reading? Can you... Will you see if he'll do it if you do sing? Hey, buddy. Can you sing? Let's sing. And then we'll first... His grandmother sings him this song called Jesus Walks that I've never even heard. Okay, ready, buddy? You want to sing to daddy? Oh, yeah, yeah. Jesus walks this lonely alley. He has to walk hard. Yeah, he's not into it. He's not into it. You sounded great, though. I love you. Can you say hi to Daddy? Say, Daddy. Hi, Daddy. Hey, Bubba, can you hear me? Jake, can you hear me? Aw.
See, all the stuff is visual that I do with him. I go, how much do you love daddy? And he puts his arms up in the air. It's so cute, but it's visual, so you can't see it. He says Nana and Papa. Do you want to see Nana and Papa? Jake, who do you want to go see? Bubba. They have fans at their house. Bye-bye. All right, honey, I love you. I love you. All right, bye. He loves Iron Man. Yeah, he loves Iron Man. That's going to be a discussion later. Seriously, I want to hash that one out. Skye, what about you? Did you have one? I had one when I was really little. I had a Smurf lunchbox. Yeah, it was pretty dope. But I'd say from maybe like third grade on, I was brown bagging it. Would Smurf be cool, Eddie? Well, I mean, she was that young. But I mean, I think I carried a metal lunchbox until I was like in the...
Fourth grade? No, Skinner gave me the paper bag with the worst lunches ever made and no one would ever trade with me. What? Like what? Well, everything's healthy. Everything is healthy. The all-natural peanut butter with the all-natural jelly on wheat bread with a banana and some unsalted peanuts. Yeah. I don't. The worst. I do not. The worst. I don't have any memories of lunches being bad. I do have memories of lunches being good. I remember being very nervous about the concept of taking lunch when I was real little. Why were you nervous? Well, because I remember that I didn't take, because it was something new and different when I started school. that I had to take this lunch with me, it felt like I was going away on a trip. And I had to take this lunch. Well, maybe because your mom put your suitcase right now. She did. She did do that, which made me nervous. Yeah, could be why. I mean, it wasn't really a suitcase. It was more of a stick with a bandana that I carried my belongings in, if I remember correctly.
It was a little sign that said, please take me. Yes. Well, it was a t-shirt that said it. Free kid. Yes. P1 Jeremy, what was your lunchbox? Yeah, I used to have a Thundercats lunchbox. Oh, yeah. Not bad. Not bad. It's good, right? It's good. You didn't watch Thundercats? Dude, until I met you guys, I'd never heard the words Thundercats. Not until I met you guys. Wow. Now, I could tell you about really bizarre R-rated movies that I watched on HBO. You know what I mean? I mean, honestly, I remember being a child and seeing in the movie theaters Kramer vs. Kramer when it first came out in theaters. That would have been a good lunchbox. You know what I mean? Yeah, I had that one as a lunchbox. It had a picture of Meryl Streep on the front. And in the back was an action shot of Dustin Hoffman crying, not having his son, carrying him from falling on the monkey bars. The thermos was them making the eggs. Yes. The French toast. Yeah, the French toast. The French toast. P1, your mom is on the line. Hi, Mikey. Hi. I just wanted to call and just let you guys know that I couldn't see my lunchbox until I was about in eighth grade and it was a Muppet.
Oh, man. I would have made fun of you. Dude. It actually came back. I started making the trend in eighth grade, you know, middle school. It was rocking, you know, your lunchbox, and I wanted Muppets. I remember in middle school, to some girls could pull it off that it was cool to have, like, a lunchbox. Did you? No. You were not able to pull that one off. What was the girl that was able to? What was she all about? Trendy. Did she continue that into high school? Yeah. She'd be the first girl to wear something that's kind of out there, but then you see it in all the catalogs a month later. Who was that chick? How'd she get to be her sister? The prettiest, most popular one. But it was her sister, right? Is that how it happened? How did that chick get to be that chick? Which is an interesting conversation to me because I'm sure that that girl... to some degree, kind of felt good, right? Maybe. Well, but her whole demeanor and attitude is, like, that I don't care. Like, this is just me, and, like, I'm just, like, doing this because I like it, which makes her cool. You're like, well, I want to be like that. Right, right, right. Well, I didn't, but other people did. P1 bag over my head is on the line. Hey, how's it going? What's up?
Yeah, I was the cool kid in elementary school coming into the fifth grade, and mom gets me the new lunchbox for fifth grade, and it's pound puppies. Oh, no. No, no, no. Shut up. What is it? Is it a cartoon? You don't know what pound puppies are? Don't know. It's a toy. It was kind of femme. Femme? Yeah. Super femme. I had one. She had three puppies in her. Dude, did you get made fun of? Oh, God. It was the worst about a month and a half of my life. The only way I redeemed myself was I took it out to recess one day and had all the kids play kickball with it. Oh, wow. That must have been humiliating. Oh, yeah. I took it home. You know, Mom, I don't know what happened. It broke. I got to get a new one. So I went and got a Superman one. This one has to be bad. Katie. P1 Katie, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Tell everybody what you... Now, wait a minute. Do you still have a lunchbox? Katie, how old are you? I'm 19. Okay, okay. You have a very... Your voice is very little. Katie, what was your lunchbox? I had a Barney lunchbox. Barney? How long? How long? How old were you? Oh, Barney. I was in probably like kindergarten. Oh, okay. That's fine. You were five. That's fine. Yeah. So probably everybody had a Barney.
Yeah. Well, Barney and I had it all up until probably, I think, second grade. Do you go to school now or are you working? No, I work. You work. Where do you work? I work for Sharp. You should try taking that today to lunch. Take the Barney lunchbox with you there at Sharp's and just see if it's, you know, what people say. Kosher. Yeah, right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Thank you for the call. This text message says, Mikey. I had and still have a Looney Tunes lunchbox I got in 1965. My friend had a Welcome Back Cotter one, which was awesome. That would rule, dude. They had every character on the thermos and their big catchphrase. And they're like, up in those with the rubber hose. Yeah. I remember that. I do remember seeing that. It was a good one. I think I was in third grade when I remember seeing it. And I was so cool, man. I would never have that lunchbox. No way, Ash. You know what's so funny? I just realized. I had a Care Bear lunchbox with a Care Bear thermos, and I'm wearing a Care Bear shirt today. It's really weird. Really? Yeah. You're that girl. Dude. I know. That's strange. I remember. This is bringing back such pleasant memories. I remember in third grade seeing guys with T-shirts that said, Up Your Nose with a Rubber Hose or Happy Days. Yeah. Sit on it.
I don't even know where they got, like, that was a faraway land they must travel to, where they even were able to. They must know the Fonz. Yes. Like, you know the Fonz? Because I know, I don't see that at Mervyn's, where I go. Our text number is 35253. Coming up next, a song about Ashley's gas, if you haven't heard it yet. I'm going to let you know that this next text message is from a guy. Mikey, I had a pink Minnie Mouse lunchbox in kindergarten. Come on. CPS. That's what I'm saying. You call CPS right away. And we're located about five minutes away from the stadium. Kind of give you a little perspective. It's just off the 163 is where the campus is located. 163 in like, I believe, Claremont Mesa. Oh, no, that is incorrect, Mike. It's not. It's off Arrow. Arrow and like the 805. So anyway, very cool campus. You will be inspired. You will be inspired. natpoly.edu. N-A-T-P-O-L-Y.edu. It's been a tough ride on our freeways here this morning, especially out of the South Bay. Still suffering from it. All started with an accident. Northbound 5 just passed the 15. That's been out of the way for some time, but the Northbound 5 still backed up heavily out of Chula Vista. Off and on through National City, then again past that 15 in towards the bridge. 805, a lot of folks use this as an alternate. That's got solid brake lights now out of the Chula Vista area from the South Bay Freeway. up in the North Park, then again crawling out of Kearney Mason now, heading up over the 52. Westbound side of the 94, backed up heavily in single digits, barely moving in some spots, coming in toward the 125, all the way to this bad accident that's blocking the left lanes here just before Federal Boulevard.
Slows again from Euclid to the 805 freeway. The West 8 this morning is also seeing some heavy traffic kind of late here in the morning from Jackson Drive in towards Lake Murray. Heavy again from Waring and past the Q in Mission Valley to Texas Street. Westbound 52 backed up off the 125 all the way to the top of the summit. Your South 15 commute out of Escondido. Very heavy from the 78 over Lake Hodges into Rancho Bernardo, then to Carmel Mountain Ranch. Westbound 56, slow traffic from Black Mountain Road out of Penasquitos. all the way to the 5 freeway and the coastal rides south outside of the 5 suffering out of Acadia, Salad, and Salada Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 153. You know the old chestnut, together we can move mountains? What a useless phrase. We don't need to move any mountains. Mountains should stay put. In fact, we should probably be working together to not move mountains. Let's think of some better phrases, ones that don't imply that being successful means devastating the landscape. How about something like together we can move mountains of trash that have piled up near the old docks? Or maybe together we can drink these two beers I just suddenly got. Or how about simply share the good? That one's nice. And guess what? It works perfectly with delicious bottles of Heineken Premium Light. Now you've got a hot new phrase, a couple of icy cold Heineken Premium Lights, and a new friend to drink with. It's like killing three birds with one mountain. Heineken Premium Light. Share the good.

And Ashley. What do you think, I am an idiot over here? Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. At the Beverly Hills Courthouse on Monday. Atlanta Falcons signed their number one draft pick, Matt Ryan, to a six-year $72 million deal. Oh, my. That's a lot of money. Our phone number is 570-1053. And we have someone here right now that a guy brought his wife, and she wears the Paris Hilton perfume. Really? So come on in. Come on in. We're going to go get them. Awesome. I want to see what this stuff smells like. What we've been hearing from dudes and from women that have been calling in is that they like the perfume, but they don't tell people what it is. Right. Come around. You're wearing it right now, right? I am wearing it.
Smell the bottle. No, no, no. I don't want to smell the bottle because it's always different with somebody's chemistry. I have it on also. Come over. Somebody's chemistry. Because I can't really smell it on her. It kind of reminds me of another perfume that I've smelled. This particular one, it smells nice. This particular one is very, it's kind of a, I would say, it's got a fruitier thing going on. Look at the bottle. Yeah, that's the self-titled Paris Hilton. Where do you get it? Walmart. And how much? I think it's like $28. $28. For that big bottle. For the big bottle. Do you like it? Yeah, your husband. You dig it, right? I do. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And did you just get it or did he get it as a gift? He got it as a gift first and I did the same thing you said Rebecca would do. I was like... Are you kidding me? No. And then everyone, like, they'll say, oh, you smell so good. What do you wear? And I'm like, perfect. You tell them. You tell them. But I say it over and over and over again. I just, like, I say Paris Hilton. But you're embarrassed. But I'm like, yeah. You kind of mumble it like Seth would. Yeah. Wow. What a trip. Thank you very much. We're going to set you up with something. We're going to give you a gift. Don't know what. But we'll give you something. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's, um, it smells fruity. It's, you know, all perfumes. Perfumes are either, uh.
fruity or they're fresh or there's another thing with perfumes is sometimes they're oriental. Sometimes they are, they have these, seriously, that's the way they're described. It's the way they're actually described. What does that mean? Oriental means that it has kind of a exotic. No, no, no. I can understand how you might think it may be a soy sauce smell, but no, it isn't. Ginger. It could be, honestly. Honestly, it could be. If you go to... Like a spicy, maybe? Is that what you're getting at? It's not a spicy thing. It's more of an incense and Eastern... Urine. No, not urine. It's Eastern... Yeah, please. Let me tell you exactly. Kind of like a chai spice. Could be. Because within... No, no, no. You're right. You're right. But within the Oriental deal, there are many... I've never heard this. You have not? Yeah. It's the truth. It really is the truth. Sephora.com. Sephora. Go to Sephora.com. You don't need to yell at me. I know. You're getting worked up, and it's not that big a deal. All right. Listen. I'm going to tell you. I'm going to read a description to you of a cologne. Yeah. Of a cologne. Okay. Now, did that make sense? Yes. That's what I meant. That's what I meant. Yeah.
Okay, this style is earthy. Now, you want to know what earthy is? Mud. Fig, citrus, lily, minosha wood. So that's described as earthy. That's an earthy kind. Okay, so we haven't reached oriental. Let me find oriental. Okay, because I don't believe it exists. Oh, it does. And would you like to, when I find it, are you going to come over and look for yourself so you know that it is oriental? Yes, I would. Will you really? Do I have to prove it to you? Did you just meet me? She will not take my word. This is our first day hanging out or what? Here we go. This guy's coming around. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. Maybe she can read it. Yes, we'll have her read it. If I can find it. Oh no, I'm going to show you right now. I'm nervous. Okay, okay, okay. Are you ready? I'm still waiting. Hang on, hang on, Skye. Here we go. Skye, are you ready? Well, I don't. Lady. I don't. No, I see it. I got it. What? What does it say? Well done. There you go. One point Mike, put it on the ball. Okay, what does it say? It says a bold scent that strikes out in an entirely new direction, mixing traditional and unusual notes to create a unique fragrance that is cool, oriental, and fresh.
Now, for Sky, that means like ducks hanging upside down, but that's not what they mean. That is us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I meant when I said that I meant. But Mike's reading that from racistperfumes.com. That is true. I didn't say that. I thought I made that clear from the very beginning that I was on racistperfumes.com. I thought I said that. I thought I said that. You know what I mean. Yes. Would you guys like to do this right here? Now, the show presents the search for the truth behind the words, the logic behind the lyrics. It's time to play Lyrical Gangster. Awesome! This is a fun game. Do you know the lyrics that are coming out of my mouth? If you're the type of person that absolutely loves lyrics, this game is for you. And if you're the type of person that could care less about what they're saying and you actually like the song, you're going to like it too because you get to hear the song. At least you get to hear a little piece of it. A snippet. A little snippet, yeah. A snippet. So call it. Snippet. Snippet. Hi, snippet. Call us right now. 570-1053. And we're going to ask you a trivia question about the lyrics. Is that a good way to put it? We ask you a question about the lyrics? Maybe a better way to say it?
Ask a question about the lyrics. So 5701053, you get to pick from three different categories. And today's categories are grunge rock, metal power ballads, and in the year 2000. In the year 2000. These are songs from the new millennium, the songs from the 2000s. So call us right now at 570-1053. And we have a variety of prizes today, right, Eddie? Yes. We have a plethora of Oriental surprises today. So give us a call right now and we will get right on it. Again, grunge rock, metal power ballads, and in the year 2000. Man, I wish that we could play this game because most of us here on the show... No, how? You always want to play. I know, Ash. Every time. I think next week we should have you play four listeners. Oh, yes. I know. That would be fun. That would. Awesome! Let's see. Sky, do you know lyrics pretty good? I normally find that I say maybe I get about 60% of these right. What about you, Ash? Do you know lyrics? No, not at all. Sean, how about you? Ah, so-so. Unless it's a rap song. All right, well, let's get somebody on the line. P1 Can't Get Right is on the line. How you doing, man?
I'm doing great, man. And yourself? I'm good. How old are you? I'm 40, actually. Cool. What do you do for a living? I'm a painter. You're a painter. I'm painting. Very cool. I've got my boss's daughter's school right now waiting for him to show up. Right on. Are you ready to play? I'm ready. All right, dude. I'm going to give you three categories you pick. You want grunge rock, metal power ballads, or in the year 2000? We're going to go with grunge rock. You got it. Here is your question. Your grunge rock question is... In the song, Come As You Are by Nirvana, he says, Come as you are, as you were, as I want you to be. As a friend, as a friend, as an old what? Oh, hootenanny. It is not hootenanny. What? It is not hootenanny. I thought it was. Kind of rhymes with hootenanny. Yeah. It's enemy. Yes. I never knew that's what he was saying. I thought that he was saying, as I know you to be. I always thought he was singing about the Dodgers pitcher Brad Penny. Oh, I did too. That was the other one. Brad Penny. Sorry about that. Can't get it right. You really can't. P1 Rude Dog is on the line. Here we go. Rude Dog, how you doing, man? Pretty good. How you guys doing? Good, man. I don't know that I know. We've talked to you a million times, but how old are you?
I am 34. And what does Rude Dog do for a living? I am working right now in a warehouse. Really? Do you, like, organize things in the warehouse, put stuff up in there and with pallets and a forklift? I process returns right now, fortunately. There you go. There you go. All right, Rude Dog. Your categories are, in the year 2000, grunge rock and metal power ballads. Metal power ballads. You got it. Nice. Your question is... in the song Love Bites by Def Leppard. He says, love bites, love bleeds, it's bringing me to my what? You got it, brother. The Rock just don't sound like that anymore. Gotta love it. Hang on the line, brother. You're a winner. Thanks a lot, bro. Hang on. P1 Wendy is up next. Wendy, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Good to talk to you. How old are you? 39. And what do you do for a living?
Accounting software consultant. Whoa. What is that? Excuse us. It's hard. Yeah. Smarty pants. That's what it sounds like. All right, here's your categories. In the year 2000, metal power ballads or grunge rock? Metal power ballads. Yeah. Here is your question. Okay. In the song Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue, he says, just one more night. And I'm coming off this what? I'm coming off this long and winding road. Sweet home. I'm sorry about that, Wendy. That was dynamite. Thank you. So good. Thank you. Thank you, Wendy. P1 Chipper is on the line. What's up, Mikey? Chipper, how you doing, man? Doing pretty good. How you doing? Good, man. What do you do? I'm a stoner. You're a stoner. And how old are you? I'm 31. I'm a stone worker. Oh, a stone worker. That's different than what I thought. That's insane, man. 34-year-old stoner, bro. Say hi to your parents, will you? I know they're in the next room making you breakfast. All right, Chipper. Your category is grunge rock in the year 2000 and metal power ballads. Grunge rock. You got it. Grunge rock question is, in the song Vaseline by the Stone Temple Pilots, he says,
It has rendered him punch drunk and without what? That's incorrect. It's punch drunk and without bail. That's a good song. Thank you for playing. One more. Let's do one more. It's P1 Chris. Chris, are you there? Yes. How are you doing, man? I'm doing good. How old are you? Pardon? How old are you? I'm 35. What do you do? I'm in the Navy. There you go, man. Are you driving to work right now? I am. All right, here is your categories. Grunge rock in the year 2000 and metal power ballads. I want the year 2000, man. Here we go. Here is your question. In the song It's Been a While by Stained, he says, I cannot blame this on my father. He did the best he could for who? He did the best he could for me. You got that right. You got that right.
Well done. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Get it. Get it, Aaron. Yeah. Congratulations. You're a winner. Thank you. Yeah. Please hang on the line. You want to text us? Do it. Text number is 35253. I promise that when we come back, we're going to play a song about Ashley. It's a parody song, and it's called The Wind Beneath My Sheets. And it's next. Still to come on the show, Jerry Coleman. The Colonel. You can hang a star on that one, baby. And there was a report of corruption about Mayor Sanders. He's been cleared. And he had some stuff to say about Mike Aguirre in this clip. We'll play. Don't go away. We'll be back. The show continues on The Rock. A lot of people ask me, Billy Dee Williams, for all kinds of relationship advice. Jason, did you take your motorcycle? Did you call AIS about your motorcycle? Yes, I did. What happened? Well, I'm buying the motorcycle. I should be getting it today. I called my insurance company yesterday to insure it, and they wouldn't insure it because I haven't had a motorcycle endorsement for three years. They referred me to Progressive, and Progressive wanted $1,400. I called Geico. Geico wanted $1,013.
And then I remember, you know, AIS from the Mikey show. So I called AIS and they gave me insurance for $829 a year. That's awesome, bro. On a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja and never having a motorcycle endorsement on my license. Be careful on that thing, will you? Oh, I will. All right, brother. Thank you for the call. You're welcome. The number one cerveza light in Mexico is now available here in the United States. To ensure that Tecate Light remains true to its Mexican cerveza roots, we will not refer to Tecate Light as light b****. We feel its Mexican flavor and attitude are much too bold to be referred to as an ordinary light b****. In fact, to our censors, b**** is a four-letter word. They didn't even allow b**** to be mentioned in the same commercial as Tecate Light. Not even to explain the difference between b***h and cerveza. So as you can hear, all references to b***h have been censored for your protection in order to avoid any unintended association between light b***h and Tecate Light Cerveza. Tecate Light. It's Mikey. And now another classic Mikey Show moment. It's Tito Ortiz, and he is going to be fighting this weekend. Holy cow. UFC 84. Tito, what's up with the little diss on the UFC? What's going on? It's not a diss on the UFC, man. It's a diss strictly towards Dana White. Man, you hate him. So you're done. I'm done with the UFC. I'm moving on. I'm going to fight for somebody else. I'm going to make a new company. I'm going to do something bigger and better that takes care of the fighters and not really use those fighters as pure commodities that we can be thrown to the curb. And that's what they try to do. And they've done it to Randy Couture. They've done it to Tim Sylvia. They've done it to Andre Oloski. And now they're going to do it to Tito Ortiz. And I'm going to step up. I'm going to fight for what I believe. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. It's the Mikey Show at 812. After six years of delays, the R. Kelly child molestation trial began yesterday. Dallas Cowboys give big contracts to Marion Barber and Terrence Newman. We never did find somebody that would come in and analyze our handwriting. I guess there is nobody in our P1 listening audience that's a handwriting analyst. If there is...
Call us. We want to have our handwriting analyzed. 5701053. Let's see. So, yeah, Mayor Sanders, who has requested to be able to come on to the Mikey show. And at some point he will. But he is, as you know, running for reelection. And Mikey Geary is our city attorney. We shouldn't know that. It's my belief that your average citizen doesn't know who their city attorney is. The reason that we know who our city attorney is is because he makes headlines a lot because he'll call press conferences. And then he'll get on the news. And so a lot of people in the city council have some issues with Mike Aguirre. And what was the deal, Sky? What did Mike Aguirre... accuse Mayor Sanders of? Well, the one that is making the news today is the accusation in regards to the Sun Road building that was too tall and the FAA restrictions and the planes and the blah, blah, blah and Mike Aguirre. Real quickly with that, just in case you're hearing it and you're like, what is that? I don't understand. I never heard of this. There's a building called the Sun Road building that they were constructing over on the 163 and Claremont Mesa, right around there. Yep.
We saw, I mean, if you ever drove by that area, you saw this building under construction for a long time. Well, all of a sudden, Sky was telling us, hey, there's, like, starting to be problems with this building. Yeah, right around when they were, like, completing the exterior of it. They were starting to say, well, Mike Aguirre was starting to say, this building's too tall. Yes, it's against FAA regulations. How did the mayor get involved, and what was he saying that the mayor did that was? He, well, because, I guess. The developer of the building of Sun Road Enterprises was a campaign donor to Mayor Sanders' campaign. So Micah Gary was accusing the mayor of corruption and saying that he knew that this building was too tall. He knew it was illegal, but the mayor went along with it anyways because this guy donated to his campaign. So what happened? Well, the California Attorney General's office did an investigation and released the results of that investigation yesterday, saying that the mayor did nothing wrong. Wow. Whoa. In your face. Here's Mayor Sanders, cut 55. The message inherent in the Attorney General's report is that bullies eventually get their due. He told me that I would start feeling the fallout of that immediately and it wasn't going to be pretty.
Mike Aguirre still stands by his allegations. Of course. Even after the attorney general said, no, no, there was nothing shady here. Now, when Mayor Sanders said at the very end of that, he said he told me that I was going to get my due and that it was going to happen really quickly. Is he talking about that Aguirre said that to him? Yeah, Aguirre said that to him. Come on. And that it wouldn't be pretty. Yeah, they were going to look into it, find that the mayor was corrupt and he was going to get what was coming to him. Nice guy. Oh, it's just, it's wacky, man. They must really enjoy working together. Oh, it must be a ball in the hallway in the cafeteria there at the, and in the city council racquetball club that I'm sure they must attend together on the polo yards. Okay. Eddie, you're aware of Ashley's gas problem, right? I don't have a gas problem. I think everybody is. I mean, by now. Unfortunately. I don't have a gas problem. When you sleep, you do.
It happened one time. Well, when she sleeps, she moves the wind beneath her sheets. That's true. Stupid. I heard she did. Perfect time to lift a cheek. and let one fly. I hoped it would sound like I was snoring. It's bad big feet. She has big feet. It's prominent. Very prominent gas, yes. Sounds like a frog just said your name. I know it is. Beautiful.
It's a really moving song. You get it? Yeah. You get it like you mean... Yeah, exactly. Exactly. You guys get it. Yeah. That was fantastic. It's really gorgeous, you know? Do you think that'll be a good segue into talking to Jerry Coleman? I'm sure he'll... Legend, San Diego legend, Jerry Coleman. You can hang a star on that one. Yes. Yeah. You can hang several. Yes. They all turn green when you hang them on. Ew! You know, Jerry Coleman is the voice of the Padres. He's been with the Padres now for many, many, many years. And he just wrote a new book. Really? Yep. It's called An American Journey, My Life on the Field, in the Air, and on the Air. Did you know this guy flew airplanes? Jerry Coleman flew airplanes. I didn't know too much about him. I knew that he had... Here's what I know about Jerry Coleman. And maybe I should tell him. Because I know some... I mean, he's a legend. And so I know some things about Jerry Coleman. We'll get him on the line. Mr. Coleman. Yes, Mikey, how are you? I'm fantastic, sir. It's great to talk to you. Same here. It's early in the morning, though. You get up every day like this? Sir, I was up this morning at 2 a.m. Well, I'm not going to work with you anymore if you go at 2 o'clock. That's right. That's right.
Jerry Coleman is a legend here in San Diego. He's got a new book. It's called An American Journey, My Life on the Field and the Air and on the Air. This is what I knew about you, Mr. Coleman. I knew that you were a Hall of Famer. I knew that you played for the Yankees. I know that you've been on the air for a very long time announcing for the Padres. I did not know much about your military background, and it is really a big part of who you are. Well, to me, that was the most important part of my life because when I went in, I was 18, 19, 20, 21. And whatever I am today, I got out of the Marine Corps because that was where I really learned about life. Was it really, really tough back then when you were in the Marine Corps? No, I thought it was wonderful. I was crazy, you know, when you're young. And the second trip, when I was 28 and 29, I had a family and kids. I wasn't quite as excited, but basically, you know, the Marines to me shaped my life, no question about it. Where did you go through boot camp?
I didn't go to boot camp. I was a naval aviation cadet. I went to St. Mary's, Olathe, Kansas, Alamosa, Colorado, Corpus Christi, and finally got commissioned to Corpus Christi. Jacksonville, Florida, Cherry Point, North Carolina, El Toro, California. And they sent me overseas. I never saw anybody. When you were doing all that, Mr. Coleman, in terms of how these guys got to exercise and do all the running, where was the hottest, stickiest place you ever were? In the service? Yes. When they started shooting at you. I didn't like that part. No, no, no. Well, I met here in the United States when you were here. Weather-wise, what was the most dreadfully hot and sticky and humid place that you ever traveled to? Kansas City, Missouri in the summertime was awful. Oh, I bet. I bet it was. Well, I was stationed at Olathe, Kansas. And that was my primary training. That was the old yellow peril, a bi-wing plane. That was the second stage of the training phase. And it was hotter than sin. And I was always, it seemed like I was restricted. I never saw a girl for three months. Oh, wow. Too long. It was torture. That is too long. Wow. Listen, I said this earlier. I was looking into the other studio. And Ashley was setting up the call with Jerry Coleman. And we said, we would love.
to be a fly on the wall and hear the conversation between cute little Ashley and Jerry Coleman. Well, if I'd known she was that cute, I'd propose to her. There you go. So, okay. Mr. Coleman, first of all, what was your first year broadcasting for the Padres? 1972, I think it was. 1972, yes. Oh, my goodness. He has been calling these games since 1972. And I have the record, you know. You got the record. Yeah, I broadcast more losing games than any broadcaster in history. That's nothing to be proud of, Jerry. So, Jerry, what's the matter with these Padres? Well, if they had a power hitter like me on the lineup, they might do better. They're just not hitting well. They're getting pretty good pitching and not hitting well, and a lot of things happen. But I really think they're a better team than you've seen on the field. But the thing is, they've got to get some base hits with people on base. That always helps. And that's about all I can say. You know, it's just one of those things. Nobody really, outside of Giles and Gonzalez, and, of course, Kuzman off last night, hit the home run and won for us.
Not many people are hitting much, and you've got to get runs to win. And it's just that basic and simple. If you get runs, you win. Pitching's been good enough. So basically, I think we're looking for a change. I think we're going to get better. I really mean that. We're talking to Jerry Coleman, and he's got a new book out. It's called An American Journey, My Life on the Field, in the Air, and on the Air. Give me a good Ted Leitner story from the booth. Ted Leitner? Well, he doesn't stop talking long enough just to give you a story. Literally, Ted is a brilliant broadcaster. You don't realize how good he is. You know, if I say, hey, Ted, on page 67, I'm going with the wind. What was that paragraph he'd give it to you? Really? He never forgets anything. And he drives me nuts because I can't remember anything. That's great. He is a brilliant broadcaster, really. Not just good. In fact, when I was in Cooperstown, I introduced him. I said, this is a broadcaster that you'll never hear because he's in San Diego, because everybody's on the East Coast. This guy is a Hall of Fame broadcaster. He's really outstanding. Eddie's got a question. Yeah, Jerry, how did you come up with your catchphrases like, oh, doctor, and hang a star on that one? All right, well, now, very quick. Do you know who Casey Stengel is? Of course. Casey used to say, you got me, doctor? You know what I mean, doctor? And I kind of picked it up from there.
And the hang a star came. Remember when you were in junior high school, you had spelling tests at the end of the week every Friday? Sure. If you got all 20 questions, you got a gold star, right? Right. I never got a gold star. Oh, Jerry. Oh, Jerry. Enemy of excellence. So it was a symbol of excellence, hang a star on that one. Yeah, that was pretty much the story. Now, Jerry, let's say that you were given the assignment you had. had to come up with a new catchphrase tonight? Where would you begin? What would you think about? Where would you start? If you had to do a different one, what would you, because I love the ones you come up with. I want some inspiration here. Well, you know, inspiration, let me tell you about that. You know, these things happen automatically. And if you want me to sit here and think of something I said, which is always wrong, it seems, I don't know how to get to that. It just sort of pops up. It's got to be spontaneous. Yeah, that's a good... How do you spell spontaneity? I can't spell it. I don't know either. I don't get a gold star. I need my gold star. I never spelled it. Mr. Coleman, Mr. Coleman, how long do you foresee yourself doing this job and continuing with the Padres?
Well, I have another year in my contract. Now, I'm going to be 84 in September. Wow. And if I lived another year, that would be one of the outstanding achievements of all time. Yeah. I can't answer that question. I love what I do as long as my health holds up and my wife tolerates me. I'll go until they boot me out, I guess. You sound great. You sound great. I still, I got to tell you, I love to hear you call. baseball games, and I'll tell you, there's something that I think is really great about your personality on the air, and that's that you are very unpredictable. You never know what the colonel is going to say next, and it's so funny sometimes where Ted will go, well, now, what are you saying over there? The funnest dynamic. I lie a lot. But, you know, last night something happened. I didn't even realize it happened. I get myself in trouble all the time. Ted was talking to me about taking a cruise. I said, they're boring. What are you doing? I found out later they just pushed a commercial on taking cruises. That's great.
That is hysterical. See, but that's what I love about you. You get fired on things like that. Oh, come on. No, you're untouchable. That's the great thing, man. That's the stuff that I love. Let me tell you, I hope that the managers get that that's the brilliance of the two of you together. The only thing that would have made it better, Jerry, is if Ted had pointed out that that was a sponsor. I didn't even know what he was talking about. I said, cruise? I hate cruises. That's the greatest. That is the greatest. Voice of the Padres. It's his fault. Jerry, is Jake Peavy the best Padre pitcher that you've seen, or do you think that there was a better one? You know, that Brown guy from South Carolina or something, Kevin Brown had a great year for us. But Jake, over time, has been the best pitcher. The trouble is he's got this elbow problem. This is not the first time, and those things make me nervous because when you get a chronic problem, it keeps coming back.
You don't know how long you can last. I just hope he gets okay. But he is, when he's right, as good a pitcher as we've ever had. You know, he and I were both born on May 31st. I believe that's what makes him as good as he is. Born on May 30th, so he beat you by a day. I was, too, for the first 12 years. My mother thought that I was born on May 30th. It's the truth. Mr. Coleman, I don't know if you've ever heard the show, but my mother actually found my birth certificate when I was 12 years old. It turned out I was born on the 31st, but for the first 12 years of my life, we thought that I was born on May 30th. Mr. Coleman, I don't know how you would deal with that at 83 years old. Can I ask you a question? Sure, sure. How many people you got on that era? It sounds like you got a whole army of people talking. There is seven. Believe it or not, there are seven people on this program. Now, listen to this. Mr. Coleman played alongside some of the Yankee greats, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle. What is something that you could tell us about these guys? Maybe we didn't know. We haven't heard. Little anecdote. Well, I don't know if I can do it on the air.
Come on. Coleman, Conigliere weren't even there. All they wanted to do was talk to DiMaggio. I said, yeah, we're currents. What's wrong with this guy? But Joe was just wonderful. Now, Mantle, I roomed with him for two years. I really can't tell you the story. Did you really? You roomed with Mickey Mantle for a couple of years? 1954 and 55. Oh, my gosh. I've heard about Mickey Mantle that he had a real good sense of humor, that he was a real funny guy. Mickey. was a charming person, and he was a kind person. These are characters you don't know anything about, this guy, because when you see 50 people rush a guy and he can't sign all the autographs, he's running away and so forth, then you look at that guy, no, that's not true. You just can't deal with all of the crowds that get to you. But Mattel was an absolutely wonderful person, came from Commerce, Oklahoma, wherever that is. It's out there in Oklahoma. And he was not well-educated nor sophisticated.
But as a person, he was delightful. I had a great time. And a great ball player, eh, Jerry? Oh, if he had my skills, he'd have really been great. All right, one last question for you, Mr. Coleman, and we'll let you go. Jerry Coleman's on the line. He's a Padre announcer. He wrote the book An American Journey, My Life on the Field, in the Air, on the Air. Do you have a most embarrassing moment on the air story? I just finished with one telling you about the second one. Was that it? The cruise? That's a good one. That's just the latest one? You know, there are so many of them. The first broadcast I did, I was with the New York Yankees broadcasting the game. It was spring training, and Mel Allen, then the broadcaster, said, Jerry, why don't you do the first inning? I said, good. I wanted three ground balls with a shortstop, and it's out, in and out. Twelve men came to the plate, and everything that ever happened in a baseball game happened in that inning. I was a disaster. I went over in the corner, and the fetal position didn't move for three days. Look at that, Jerry Coleman. That is true. Jerry Coleman is going to be signing his new book, and it's going to be on Saturday. So go see him. He'll be at the Costco, 2345 Fenton Parkway, 1.30 in the afternoon. You're a gem, and you're a gentleman. I'm glad you told me. I didn't know where I was going. That's right. That's right.
Hey, thank you, Jerry. We really appreciate it, Mr. Coleman, for you coming on the Mikey Show. It was great to talk with you. Thanks for the plug in the book. I appreciate it. Good luck to you folks. You got it. Thank you very much. That's Jerry Coleman. What a cool guy. What a cool guy, man. Yes, I love him. All right, quick timeout. Then we'll come back and we'll do more stuff. Is there going to be a new Dirty Harry movie? I'll give you some details on that after this. You guys get a lot of calls every morning that people will pick on Sky or Ashley or giving Eddie or Sean stuff. Every one of you are great. Thank you, man. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. It's been a pretty tough commute here this morning, but things are starting to ease up, especially out of the South Bay, breaking up on both the 5 and the 805 northbound for better-looking speeds up through National City. 805, though, once you get into North Park, actually, I'm sorry, Kearney Mesa, still backing up on you, approaching Balboa. That's a slow crawl up towards Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle. Northbound side of the 15 is also seeing some leftover slowing up through Murphy Canyon, but that's looking better. Still a bit slow, though, from the 52 up to the 163 in this north. The Westbound 94 King Freeway, that's a little bit delayed at the 805, and then a few more brake lights from 32nd Street in towards downtown. Your West 8 ride cleaned up quite nicely, man. Just a brief slowdown here at the 805 of Mission Valley by the queue, and then you're good to go. Westbound 52, full speed at the hill at Asante. A minor slowdown again through San Clemente Canyon getting to the 5 Freeway. The South 15 right now is looking better out of Escondido, but still kind of crammed up into Rancho Bernardo and Carmel Mountain Ranch. The westbound 56 still backing up here from Carmel Valley Road to the 5. And the coastal ride South 5 still a struggle out of La Costa into Solana Beach. I'm McLaurin on Rock 105.3. The weather outside is delightful. Yeah. And, you know, it's basically summertime already. Let's just call it like it is. Thank you, Eddie. And when you live here in San Diego, you should own a nice pair of sunglasses. I'm not talking about...

The Eddie line's ringing. What's Barbara calling in? What are you doing, Barb? I was just wondering if Ashley's out of her mind. I mean... Does this silly broad realize that she was that person that they were banning the beaches about? You don't know that. She's changed, though. How do you even know about that? By the way, this is Barbara. I am a part-time Hillary supporter, full-time black woman. I used to be on your side, Babs. Well, yeah, I was just going to come at me. Well, you should step off because you are tripping if you're going to come at me with that kind of talk, sweetheart. Hey, first of all, I know you've got your 40s. those king cobras still laying around that place. I don't even know what that is. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. 845. Both Obama and Hillary won a state last night in the primaries, but Obama is now only 73 delegate votes away from the nomination. Santa Maria! Mike Piazza officially announces his retirement. Very well done, Eddie. Very well done. Really? Ha!
Did you hear the Santa Maria part? Oh, I must have missed it. Who is this, Rob? Seether. This guy has a very cool tonality in his voice. I can see how Amy Lee fell in love with him. Welcome back. Sky was just talking about it. Hillary had a victory in Kentucky and Osama Obama. Stop doing that. I can't remember his name. Oh, I'm sure. It's O-Rock, Obama. Yes. O-Rock and a hard place. O-Rock. Stop it. He won in Oregon. Yes, he did. Which is better? Yeah, which is better, Kentucky or Oregon to win in? Dude, Oregon. Yeah, duh. Ducks. That's why it's better. So now what? It's over.
It's over, right? Who's president then? Who got to be president? Who's the president? Well, basically, Barack Obama is really close. He just needs 73 more delegate votes for the win. And so everybody's like, come on, Hillary, give it up. But what Hillary is focusing on... Why is she doing that? is the Florida and Michigan primaries, you know, that were messed up because they moved their dates forward. Why don't we just stop counting Florida altogether? Yeah. It messes everything up. Sell it to Mexico. Yeah. Sell Florida to Mexico. We need the money. We really do. We could solve everything if we just sold Florida. And Texas. Oh, wait. Don't do that. Don't say that. It's really not very funny, dude. Yeah, dude. All right. I went to the University of Texas, okay? That's how I bought that BMW in the parking lot, right? Okay, well. You don't have to tell us everything. Thank you, bro. You know what you drive, all right? We know. I don't say it because I drive a fancy car, dude. I say it because it's a product of Texas University, all right? That's great, dude. I drive a Saturn, all right? Oh! Dude, a Saturn is a respectable car, okay? You bought that with hard-earned money. There's no BMW, all right, dude? Maybe it isn't, bro. Maybe it isn't. Dude, you're spitting. Whoa.
Oh, no. Dude, you just spat on my dashboard, bro. No, dude, I did not. Don't spit in my car. I'm spitting out the window. You didn't spit out the window, dude. We're moving too fast, dude. You're spitting on my window, bro. Slow down. Look it, it's going outside the car and flying. Well, if you slow down, dude, it won't come back in. It's in a lunchbox, bro. It's a car, all right? It's a BMW, all right? Yeah, dude. That's called Alucantara Leather. You have the news, not the weather. I get it. All right? I'm doing my best here. Oh, my gosh. The color's called Sepang. Don't mess with it, bro. I understand that, dude, but a junior college is nothing to scoff at, all right? It's a great education. It's a great education, bro. Don't put yourself down. That's my friend you're talking about. I'm not driving no BMW. Yeah, you know what you are driving, though? A handsome soul, bro. Just think of it that way, all right, dude? You're a good guy. You're my friend. Hey, guys, it's Barbara calling.
Well, I heard you talking about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. And I heard you talk about Hillary Clinton's victory and how she's marching to the right to the White House. Well, let me explain this to you, Barbara. Actually, she did win a state. She won Kentucky. But she trails Obama by quite a bit, actually. And Barack is probably going to wrap this thing up. He's probably not. How do you like those apples? And by the way... I'm afraid to tell you that he is. By the way, my name is Barbara. Yeah. And I am a part-time Hillary supporter and a full-time black woman. Yeah. You guys knew that, I guess. Well, you said every time. It's not even true, which is really weird. It is true. You don't know any. Did you guys hear? Did you guys hear? What? Did you guys hear? Yeah. Please finish. What? Are you all right? Hear what? Am I slurring right now? Yes. A little. A little bit. Am I slurring right now? Oh, what is that voice? Did you hear Hillary Clinton's speech to her supporters in Kentucky after she won? No, actually. I was watching American Idol. You guys didn't even watch it? No. What's your problem? It doesn't really matter. And Dancing with the Stars was on last night. Barack's going to win, so what's the point? Well, Sean, do you have the clip of her giving the speech?
I didn't see it or anything. You don't have the authority to do that. Who are you to just call for a clip? Let's see, Sean. Cut 27. How do you know what color it is, Barbara? It's so creepy. I'll play it. We've achieved an important victory. Hey. All right. You memorized your feet? Not just Kentucky bluegrass. That's right. Okay, that was weird. Your overwhelming vote of confidence. That's right. This is weird. That's right. Some have said your votes didn't matter. That allowing everyone to vote. How does she know this? That didn't stop you. You've never given up. You've never given up on me. What the?
That's right. That's right. I didn't see it myself. I didn't get to see it. You memorized it. But I'll tell you what, she is a dynamic speaker. Cut 28, Sean. What is going on? One of the closest races for a party's nomination in modern history. Oh, what the? We're winning the popular vote, and I'm more determined. More determined than ever. Barbara. It's okay. More determined than ever to see that every vote is cast and every ballot counted. I commend Senator Obama for his supporters. And while we continue to go toe-to-toe for this nomination. This is so weird. You see eye to eye when it comes to unity in our party to elect a Democratic president. Oh, this is a trip. I didn't see it myself. What, did you write it? No, I just am saying that I am a big Hillary supporter, and I just also wanted to recommend to each of you that are going through your own personal trials, Xanax. I don't know if anybody... No, stop saying that. Terrible, Barbara. Oh, she's out. She's out again. Oh, no. It's probably a good thing, you guys. Just let her rest. Let her sleep it off.
Oh, ew. That was gross. I don't know. Is she choking? Oh, my God. Is there a chainsaw in the background? I'm not quite sure. What is she doing? What the heck? Barbara. What are you doing? Oh, hi, Skye. What were you calling about? Hi, Barbara. Although you just called us and we were talking about Hillary and her speech last night. You are a hot mess. Right. That's right. I have sleep apnea. Oh. You do. Really? That's probably scary. Yes, it is. Sometimes they also stop breathing. But I am doing a lot better thanks to Xanax. So go, Hillary, and we'll see you later, Obama. Oh, wow. Brutal. What a strange phone call. Oh, my God. What a strange phone call. Well, we don't know about that. That's pretty weird.
So before we went to break... You're very strange. Before we went to break, we said there may be a new Dirty Harry movie. I don't know. I've been hearing this as a rumor for a while. With who? Check this out. From Access Hollywood, Clint Eastwood and Angelina Jolie. Cut 29. Clint, it's been said that you're going to return to Dirty Harry. It's been rumored. Is that true? That rumor is incorrect. I am. And the Tomb Raider will play it. I don't believe him. I think that he absolutely would go back. Really? Oh, it's a ridiculous thought. It's a ridiculous thought. It's ridiculous. He's 120. Yes. Wow. But I bet you he would. For whatever reason, man, those old dudes, they want to do it. That's scary. Stallone. Yeah. Harrison Ford. For whatever reason, to them, it's, you know, I still got it. I'll rekindle. Wow. And they want to get back in there and do it. Harrison Ford on the same thing. Cut 51. The pleasure of playing this character is his wit and his intelligence and the situation that filmmakers have.
Put him in and watching him twist in the wind. That's out tomorrow, right? Yep. Quick time out. Won't you come back with us? Shia LaBeouf's father lives in his garage. It was two mathematically eliminated teams phoning it in. But not organist Harvey Steiner, for he was fearless, cunning, and about to play da-da-da-da-da-da for the 794th time.
His digits in need of a breather, he called timeout and watched the game on TV in the unused owner's suite, playing prerecorded da-da-da-da-da-da's for the entire game, even during halftime. Perfect plan had not been playing when number 23 fractured his shoulder and pelvis. Sure, Harvey was canned and played seedy hotel lounges for the rest of his years. But the sentiment wasn't lost on us at Corona. Proving again that when you need to relax, grab a nice cold Corona, a lime, and take a break from playing, well, anything. Especially that. This has been another great moment in timeout history. Corona and Corona Lite. Imported by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois. All right. What are you getting? I don't know. Just get some chips. Okay, lesson number one. You can't get just chips. Why not? You can't get just chips at a.m. p.m. It would be like saying no thanks to a million dollars or turning down season tickets. Season tickets? It's like telling a gorgeous French supermodel that you have a girlfriend. It's just something you don't do. You have to at least get a hot dog. All right, all right. I could go for a hot dog. Yes, and?
And a Slim Jim. A hot dog and a supermodel coming right up. You're buying this, right? Yeah. Wait, what? Let's go. At a.m. p.m., you can never have too much good stuff. Stop in and pick up a pepper jack cheese sausage dog for only $1.29. Real pepper jack cheese, sausage, and just the right amount of spice. A.m. p.m., too much good stuff. At participating stores for a limited time. While supplies last, prices may vary. If you are a P1, meaning a Mikey Show listener, and you've been listening for any length of time, you have probably heard about and probably by this time tried AIS Insurance, and you've probably saved a lot of money because I personally did myself. I saved $1,600 a year by switching to AIS. Now, I'm going to tell you something. I do not bring to the table endorsement companies that I don't personally believe in, and I believe in AIS 100%, man. Because I use them myself. My family uses them. I believe in them. Their phone number is 1-800-777-4247. And I want to let you know that if you're planning a trip to Mexico, you're going to be going down to Mexico, have some lobster, hang out. You're going to be taking your family. You're going to be doing stuff with your friends or whatever. They offer the Mexican insurance and I urge you to get it. Because I got a friend who went down there with a friend and their car got stolen. It was his buddy's car. So don't be that guy.

A very enlightened Mikey. Yeah, I don't like the dark. Eddie. I've had a goatee now going on about 13 years. Sky. You know me, I live the life of like a 65-year-old woman. Sean. I'm a germaphobe. Boston Rob. I thoroughly enjoy listening to jazz music. And Ashley. Due to my carelessness, I'm extremely prone to self-inflicting injury. The Mikey show's on. Gosh, get to it already. Rock 105.3. Sky just asked. Mike, it's not that big of a deal. Why my wife and I don't share a computer.
Your home computer. Why don't you guys use the same one? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why don't we share underwear? Why don't we share toilet paper? Why don't we share... You can have different profiles set up. Hey, hon, I just used this Kleenex. Do you need Kleenex? What? We share a computer. So do we. Oh, you guys do too? Of course. Yeah. Well, the desktop, I absolutely, I don't care. She could absolutely use the desktop. Well, yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The office. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The only reason that... we don't share that computer is because she's very intimidated by it. Why? And she has a laptop, so she doesn't have any reason to ever go to the desktop because she has a laptop. Oh, yeah, but you just said you're getting rid of the laptop. Oh, so you're saying why not just go completely to it? To the desktop? Yes. The reason is because, the reason is because, because, because, because, because, because, because of the wonderful things he does. I never thought about it that way. No, no, no. The reason is because she likes to use the computer in the kitchen. Oh. And while she's up late in bed. So she'll be sitting next to me doing it. She doesn't want to go to the office. So she needs a laptop. She can't have a desktop. She could, but she prefers to use it in two places, kitchen and bed. And that's where she likes to use the computer.
I love my office. Love it. But I use the laptop on the couch and in bed. But do you use the desktop? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Every morning. Every morning and kind of every night. Where I use the laptop is when I get home from work and I'm so exhausted I can't keep my head up. It's just my head is falling down. Yeah, breaking rocks all day. I'm so tired. Digging those trenches. Little head? Yeah. No, but when I get home, I'll go lay in bed and I'll answer emails and stuff. Put your Lafita. Put my Lafita on. Oh, that's so cute. This is weird. Now I have a little, I have like a little, it looks like a little TV tray that I put on my lap that I put the computer on. Oh, that is so adorable. It's darling. I bet. It's really darling. Eddie, you don't have a laptop. You don't use a laptop at home, right? No, I know you have one, bro. I mean, there's one right in front of you. You don't use it at home, right? No, I use it exclusively. Yes. So you don't have a use or a want to be sitting on the couch and messing around with a computer. No, I play video games. That's all I do. I love it. Skye, when you're home, how often do you check your email? Once, maximum twice a day.
looking at me like that. Really? Yeah. Really? Me too. You just don't respond. What? Shut up, Sean. I'm being totally serious. Like you ever send me an email. She doesn't know about the spam filter. She's got 900 emails from Sean. When do you check it? Well, normally it's once a day and it's at nighttime. Yeah. Like probably like after dinner, I'll go on and check the email and check the CNN and the TMZ and the Union Tribune website. Listen, that's probably typical of most Americans. I have so many emails. I got a lot of emails. Okay, you're more popular than me. I get it. I get it. I'm a loser. What do you want? Don't say that about my friend. Even if it is true. Just don't go there. We don't even know each other. Mikey, my buddy who isn't a fan wants to know what a P1 stands for. I've tried to show him the way. Help me educate the misguided. That's P1 Nacho. That is the misguided. It's not Joe Cheese. It's mine. Eddie? Anybody know that one? She has a good point. Does anybody know that one? You want to get on that? I mean, I've been wanting to say that for so long.
Finally. Talk about pure nacho. It's not even the right way. It's nacho cheese. It's mine. Eddie, how do you do it? Do the... Ash, do the... Don't do that. Swivel with it. What? What do you call that, by the way? I was trying to show my wife... It's nacho cheese. It's mine. When she, like, sticks her rope out and rounds it about. Like, almost a whole circle, like a black girl, and then snaps it at the end. You gotta snap. Does a snap. Mandatory. Gangsta swivel. Amazing how her neck recovers when she forgets about it. Anyways. Eddie. Oh, no. Eddie. Oh, no. Yeah, because it's totally a fake injury. Eddie. Well, when you were fixing your hair in the mirror and moving it back. That doesn't hurt. It's fantastic. This? As far as I can go. Wait a second, but we just saw it. Wow. I didn't even notice that. Eddie's good at this. It's not your cheese. at all, bro. You're good. You're tripping. You're tripping. Oh, yeah, because I'm totally making up that my neck hurts for what? For attention? I don't know. That'd be crazy. Get a neck raise. Oh, no. Get a neck raise. That's crazy. Oh, my God. Oh, uh-oh. Leave it off. You're turning the mic off. Just leave it off. She's screaming at the top of her lungs.
She's going to throw her neck out if she keeps doing that. Why hasn't someone called a hospital or something? She needs a neck brace. I watch a lot of Discovery Channel and the slightest tear can be permanent. Hey, back off my girl. You can make some with duct tape, I think, Rob. Turn her mic on. No. Duct tape, you say? Yes. And a bunch of tissues? I can do that. It's perfect. Or newspaper. I have to explain, too. P1 Nacho Fun, my fun. No, that's again. How does it go? P1 Nacho. P1 is somebody that turns the radio down, gets the point, and doesn't cuss when they call into the show. It's very easy. P1, priority one. You tell your other friends about the Mikey show. I got an email from a girl just the other day. And she said that she'd never heard of the Mikey show before and like stumbled upon it. And it made me think like, man, I bet there's a lot of people like that. They never heard of it. Never heard of it. They just didn't know that it's available, that it exists. Never heard of it. But if they did, they would probably like it and enjoy it. You got to tell your friends about the Mikey show. It's important. Yep.
And if your friends listen to other radio shows. Don't be their friends. They're dumb. Yeah, they're dumb. I mean, that's just dumb. Listen. Well, what do you say to them? What do you say? Well, I know what happens. When you have somebody that listens to another show, because we have to think about it like this. If somebody said to one of our P1s, dude, you got to listen to the blah, blah, blah show. They would stop being their friend. For suggesting it. That's what a P1 would do. It would be insulting. So it may be insulting for these people when they tell them about the Mikey show. But how do we get past that and just get them to try to listen to the show? They may have fun. They're going to have fun if they listen. But I don't know what you say to them. Brave them. Great idea. Give them a pocket comb. Give them some AA batteries. A pickle.
A pint of Old Harper. Thank you. That's all you do. I'll take that chewing gum there. Let me get that pocket comb. A pint of Old Harper and those batteries, please. Sky, you ever seen that movie? No. American Graffiti? You do not, do you? Well, I know what you're talking about because you've said it 8 million times, but I've never seen the movie. Very funny movie. Like when you first started saying it, I thought it was that scene from Airplane where he's getting the stuff off the shelf and he goes, and a bomb and, you know, whatever. Nope. It's from American Graffiti. Anybody seen it? No. You've never seen Airplane? Of course I have. What do you make of this? Well, you can make a hat, you can make a boat, you can make a... Surely you can't be serious. I am serious. Stop calling me Shirley. Striker. Striker. Dude, we should do that for a 28-hour show movie. That'd be fun. It's a comedy, though. But it's already so genius. You can't really add to it. This text message is for Eddie. Eddie, what do you think about the issues with the owners in the NFL? Do you think it's a likely situation we won't see the 2010 or 2012 season?
What's going on with the owners in the NFL? I'm out of it, honestly. They opted out of the labor contract, which is ending in, like they said, 2010 or 2011, something like that. It doesn't mean anything. They're still in negotiations. That's so far in the future. I can't even think of it. Yeah, flying cars and stuff. So you think I'll be fine? Yeah. Speaking of the future, I had a thought yesterday. I was like, I know where video games are going. Really? I think I do. Write this down, Rob. I think that video games will cease from being animated. And they will begin to, when you play NASCAR 2020, the idea of graphics is going to be hysterical. Because it's going to be, you're actually going to be looking at your screen and it's going to look like you're watching an in-camera thing from any race that we watch today on television. So, like virtual reality. Virtual reality will totally be real. Fights will be with a guy instead of with an animated guy. That would be hard, wouldn't it? I mean, because you would have to film every single available scenario. At one point, 20 years ago, if somebody said, you will eventually be able to have a computer that's about the size of, say, a little bit bigger than a loaf of bread. And you'll be able to put it on your lap and you'll be able to use it and it'll weigh about a pound.
Or you'll be able to put these things called MP3s. Oh, yeah, I know what MP3s are. Yeah, you'll be able to put like 5,000 of them on one device. Well, you can't do that. Right now we have three. I think they're going to have crazy breakthroughs in that field. What about if they were to do this? You could buy a racing game, and all you have to do is plug the racing game into your computer. or into your console, like Eddie's got a PS3. So you put the thing into your console, and let's say that you buy, the name of the game is Street Race 2020. Love that game. Street Race 2020. You stick it into your device, and you type in what city you live in. So you type in San Diego. You can race. on any virtual city in San Diego, like crazy street racing. So you're racing down the 15. I'd race down Harbor. I would race down Mission Gorge. Wow. And the finish line would be that big dopey plastic cow out in front of Iowa Meats. But how rad would it be if you could on a video game race any street you wanted to or play against LeBron James, not a, you know, animated LeBron James, the real deal.
Because I still think they look terrible. Really? Oh, yeah. When I see them, I go, that doesn't really look like Peyton Manning. Now, I have a question. Because I don't play video games, so I don't know. But when they show the graphics on the commercials, like, is the commercial the same thing as the video game? It is, isn't it? For the most part, yeah. That's impressive. Well, you know, here's what they do. Relatively. I mean, in the commercials? Well, seriously. Sky, don't you think it doesn't kind of look like Peyton Manning? Like, who is it? If you put him up there, Eddie, can you always... No. Like, let's say they didn't have a uniform on. Say he was naked. Could you tell their face? Sky. In a lot of games, yeah. Yeah? Yeah. What's the best one you think for that, for realism? Like, um... Meaning, uh, like, who looks like... Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where it really looks real. Um... Man. It's hard to say, because, you know, I haven't played every game, but... The game that I play right now, which is the MLB The Show, they have their mannerisms, like every player's mannerisms at the plate. Like Nomar Garcipara does this weird thing where he touches his wrist and touches his batting gloves and waves the bat. They have that. It doesn't matter what player it is, they have them do their mannerisms.
and have them look like the player. I've seen how they do that, where they have them wear the goofy suits. But it's every player in the major leagues. It's pretty impressive. They do the motion capture, and I do think that those mannerisms are cool. There's no doubt about it. I do think that those are cool. The only thing that I don't necessarily like is how a lot of the faces look like Ken dolls. They look like they're very... They're not perfect. They're not perfect. So I want to see like a video. I want it to look like the real deal. And I think they'll get there, man. Oh, yeah. I think eventually. Look at the difference between, you know, like Pitfall to games now. I mean, it's like late years. And it's only been however many years. And I could totally see them doing like that racing scenario that you were talking about. Because if you go to Google Earth right now. That's what I was thinking was Google Earth. Yeah, dude, like you can go down to the street level as if you're walking down the street. It's amazing. That's exactly what I was saying. Like, I actually thought in my head about Google because I bet you they could map those streets. Yeah. Easy. Because the one thing that we can't do right now, it's like you can't really go, well, you can, but you're going to get arrested if you go 120 miles down Friars Road. Right.
But I think that in video games, in the next 10, 15 years, you're going to be able to race down Friars Road. Pass by the Denny's. Yes. Go by Hazard Center. Maybe stop in there for a little bit. That'd be nice. Yeah. Grab a Cinnabon. Yeah. Real good. P1 to Eddie. Hey, I just wanted to talk to you about your Street Race 2020. There's actually a game that is exactly like that. It was called Test Drive Unlimited. And they actually fully rendered one of the islands of Hawaii where you can actually drive every single street because they had so many aerial photography for that. Now, are you telling me that this is not graphics? Yes, it's actually completely rendered. What does that mean, Sean? What is rendered? I don't know. I think he's talking about, like, you're talking about 3D rendering, right? Yes. So it's not the actual... like photographs of the area, they'll take photographs, but they'll map them onto 3D structures like boxes and things. So it's not the actual building, but it's a photograph of the outside of the building wrapped around an object. So it's not true like images that you're looking at. What I want is the real thing. Yeah, you want the images. I want the real deal. Like you're driving down whatever, El Norte, North County.
P1 Chaos. Yes. What's up? Hey, how you doing? Good. Hey, I was wondering if you've seen the previews to the new UFC video game that's coming out. Uh-uh. They are excellent. You've got to check them out, man. There's a preview of Rampage and Liddell duking it out, and they're just graphics are nuts. Sweats flying off, and oh, it's crazy. Man, I'm telling you, I feel like Future Boy. Because I think our kids are going to laugh at that stuff. Sure they will. That stuff that's out right now. Yep. All night long. Nice. Lionel Richie, of course, is good. Bye, my boy. That's not good? You said don't do that. That's what you're saying, Mike. Six days a week. You guys are awesome. Appreciate it, bro. Thank you. I'm a P1 because of my girlfriend, Lynn, who turned me on the station. Now we got you guys on every morning and stuff like that. Home of the P1s and stuff like that. Rock 105.3. Here we go. All right, Rude Dog, in the song Love Bites by Def Leppard. He says, love bites, love bleeds, it's bringing me to my what? You got it, brother. Man. Got any more, does it? The Rock just don't sound like that anymore. Gotta love it. Hang on the line, brother. You're a winner. Thanks a lot, bro. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Back at the Mikey Show at 934. Jessica Alba married her soon-to-be baby's daddy at a Beverly Hills courthouse on Monday. Kevin Kuzminov's three-run home run led the Padres to a 3-1, 3-2 win over St. Louis. So I was going through my office at home and I was cleaning out the office.
stapler that I've had since I was a kid, and I continue to use it. Wow. It's terrible. It still works? Yeah, it still works, but it's awful. It's terrible. It's terrible. What do you have? Do you have anything, Eddie, that you've just had forever and it still works, and so you continue to use it? Everything. Everything. Well, I mean, I don't get rid of anything. Like, it's, you know, I don't... As long as it works, I feel like there's no reason to replace it. Do you have a scale? Like if you want to weigh yourself. Yes. How long have you had it? That one I bought when we were doing the contest, so it's not that old. Let me think of another item. Toaster. When we got married, I knew one. Okay. I wouldn't have got rid of the one I had. I had that one since probably I moved out. Really? As a kid. It worked. Why would I need a new one if it worked? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? Well, how long did it take you to get a new computer? Exactly. Like six, seven years or whatever. Oh, it was longer. Was it longer? Yeah. Skye, what do you have that's because Skye hates change? Yeah. I mean, I have a lot of things, but actually it's funny that you bring this up because I kind of had the same thing the other day. I was going through one of my drawers. I'm sorry, Sean. I have a sports bra. Oh, no. That I got.
when I went to dance camp, summer going into junior year. And I was looking at it, and I said to myself, if I had a baby the same time I got this sports bra, that kid would be 16 years old right now. You've got to be kidding me. No! Right? Right? Is it because it's super comfortable and you don't want to give it up? Yeah, it's good. It's great quality. I mean, I obviously wash it every time after I work out in it and it, you know, it's not. It hasn't fallen apart. No, one time I accidentally was, I was cleaning in it and I got a little bleach on it and it's black. So there's a little bleach spot on it. But besides that, it's great. Ash, what about you? You got anything that's super old? Sorry, Sean. That blow dryer that I just replaced, I probably had for six years. And, like, I'll go as far as to not only hang on to things for way too long, but, like, it'll start to fall apart, start to break. Like, my blow dryer was totally broken. Like, I'd have to turn it on, wait for it to heat up, but I still kept it for, like, seven years. Finally just replaced it. It's hard to replace things. Like, if it still works, it's good, right? I had the same microwave for probably 15 years.
15 years. So you carry the microwave around with you each place. It worked good. It never had a problem. Right. But it's like, what if the toaster didn't work perfectly? It took longer to toast things. I want good stuff. But the computer was so slow. But you didn't know it was slow. I did know it was slow, but I was scared about the transfer of my stuff. I was scared. And so I knew that that was going to be a process, and I just put it off and put it off and put it off for five years. Sean, what about you? You got anything old? You know, it's really weird. My wife and I, we do a lot of recycling, and we do, like, that free cycle stuff where, you know, people come and get our old things. So we feel like as long as we're appropriately getting rid of our old stuff, we can get new stuff. Yeah, mine's called Rob. Yeah, no kidding. So most of my stuff is actually relatively new. I don't have a lot of old stuff. 5701053. Our text number is 35253. Mikey Show, hello. Oh, this is P1 Original Trunk Monkey. What's up, dude? I got a calculator, a solar-powered calculator that my mom bought me when I was like 17. I'm 40. I still use it every day. That's great.
Oh, yeah. I paid like 30 bucks for this thing back in the day. Right. I can't bring myself to get rid of it. It still works. Yeah, of course. Of course. If somebody bought you a new one, would you use it? Well, you can get them for free now. They give them their own. It's true. It's true. This one's built like a tank, man. Yep. Probably the size of a tank. Before my mom and dad moved here, they had the same washer and dryer since I was a kid. And they would just have a person come out and repair it. And so, dude, it looks so ugly and so awful looking. I mean, it was 1970s out. But when it would break, they'd just have people come out and fix it. Like, people would go above and beyond to fix it as opposed to replacing it. Well, over the years, the amount of money they spent fixing it, they could have had, like, four new washer and dryer. No doubt about it. Well, I even do that with my shoes. Like, I will break a strap on my shoe and, like, go through all the trouble to get the strap fixed as opposed to just going and getting a new pair of shoes. I have a Peter Pan collectible cup plastic that I got at Mickey D's in 90...
Sky, why? And like half of Peter Pan is all like, you know, gone now because of the washing machine. And it's plastic. The dishwasher? Because of the dishwasher. Why do you have it? Because you like it. You like drinking out of it. Oh, and I also have a mug on it that says my name and then says Heavenly. And that is from when I was like 10. Are you serious? And when I moved out of the house for the first time, my mom gave it to me. And it has a chip in the... cup of it and I drink coffee out of it every weekend. It has my name on it, dude. Heavenly? Well, it has my name and then it says Heavenly. If we're talking about clothes, I still wear a bunch of stuff I got in like third grade. Not that far back. The truth is I haven't grown since then. Well, we saw that OP shirt he rolled in here a while ago. Yeah, that was really nice. You gotta shame me out of wearing that ever again. It's a perfectly good shirt. Like, why throw clothes away if they're still good, you know? I feel ya. They go out of style? No, they never go. You just wait for it to recycle. I mean...
Like, when I wear my deep brown jersey. I don't know, Rob, because they go out of style, bro. No way. It's not 1970 anymore. Hold on one second. And I don't have any clothes from 1970. I wasn't alive. Oh, that offended him. Sorry, bro. 1979. He rocks the parachute pants. Yes. Members only jacket. If I still had the pair of overalls that I had when I was in, like, eighth grade, I'd still rock those. Overalls? Yeah, dude. Overalls. I got mine. Dang, those are cool. This guy says he's still got a green electric can opener. If it's green, it's because it's from the 70s. Oh, yeah, the avocado green. Avocado green. Green, orange, and brown. Pure pea soup green. Yeah. Oh, dude. Yeah. That's horrific, man. 5701053 is the number. You can text us at 35253. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, B-Rock. It's Mikey. I got a 1989 Little League All-Star jacket that I don't wear no more, but now my daughter, she's 13, she actually wears it to school. Aw, that is adorable. But my wife thinks it's gross because I haven't washed it because I'm kind of afraid to wash it because it's so old. You haven't washed it? That is gross, dude. That is gross, dude. But my daughter loves it. She's 13 and it's like red, like metallic red with black writing.
This is 1989. It's pretty cool. Watch it. Give it a shot. Mikey Show. Yeah, you guys still talking about the old stuff? Yes, we are. I got a quilted blanket that was made for my older brother before he was born. That should not be thrown away. Yeah, that's like memorabilia. Yeah, I do not believe that blankets should be thrown away. Well, baby blankets. Oh, no, I've been sleeping with it like 20 years. Oh, wait, you sleep with it? Yeah, I still use it. I don't know that a blanket should ever be thrown away. A blanket. Any kind of blanket. No. I don't think so. And like she knitted it for him. It's like charger color. Oh, this is gross. This text that we just got. Oh, no. Oh, no. I have a 25-year-old pillow. Oh, my gosh. You stop it. Oh, my gosh. What's wrong with that? Oh, my gosh. What? You better be messing around, dude. I've had one of the pillow that's my favorite pillow. Probably since I was seven. First of all, it is not a pillow. It is a pillow. And second of all, that is gross. Why? It is because it's got... You cover it with the cover. Even I, I love to...
Is it a plastic cover that zips that you put underneath your... No, no, no. It's just a pillow and then I washed the cover and then I put the cover back on. That's where I washed it. Well, she says pillow. Yeah, why? I don't know. It's wrong. It's what I said. There's like mites and stuff living there. Oh, yeah. Chantel was telling me that last Friday. She's got a pillow that's over 20 years old. Shut up. Dude. I threw up on her. Well, she deserved it. That's extreme. P1 Sarah's grandmother has a console television. A what? I don't even know what that is. What is that? Sounds fun. If I am thinking correctly, a console television is the kind of TV that sits on, like, the floor. It's a big, giant TV that sits on the floor. Yep, and it's, like, all wooden all around it. Wood. It's like a big box. It's furniture. And, like, you change the channels with a knob that you actually change from channel to channel. It's a knob. Yep. Definitely had it for, like, 30 years. Dude, that's awesome. My grandma had one, and when she passed away, they wanted me to take it. And I'm like, what am I going to do with that? Like, no. Oh, thank you. Does anybody know what H&M is?
Yes, yes, yes. It's the best. What is H&M? Great, awesome store. They came over from Switzerland, I believe. And there's one where I'm from back home in NorCal. And I don't know of any in San Diego, but it's a really awesome store. Very up-to-date, cool clothes, but really reasonably priced. For everybody. Guys and girls. Yes. Yeah, I didn't really pay attention. I know H&K is a gun, but I don't know H&M. It's a great store. I wish there was one here. I think they're going to open one here. Shut up! Yes, one will open tomorrow at noon in Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista. What is that? in chula vista chula vista it's by the border all the new you know the new part of chula vista out there and they said when they opened at h&m the first one in southern california in pasadena about a year and a half ago some people stood in line as long as 18 hours it was bananas to be like one of the why ash what's cool about it the place why do people like it like like i said the clothes are extremely like
Hip, up-to-date, awesome fashion. Awesome fashion. And they, like, carry, like, big-name designers for super, super cheap. Yeah, great prices. Really cheap. Like, I've got... Why? Is it knock-off stuff? Like, is it damage? No. Like, they carry, like, Stella McCartney. Oh, they do. That's... Oh, Paul McCartney's ex. No, his daughter. His daughter. Oh, his daughter. Right, right, right. Yeah. Yeah, when they opened the one in Northern California, it was like going to a club. Like, there was security at the front. Yeah. And line wrapped all the way around the building. Well, how can they sell stuff cheaper? Is it only open for 24 hours? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's opening and then it's closing and they're taking it to Seattle. That's a big deal. Yeah. They say tomorrow. Tomorrow at the opening, there'll be a red carpet. There'll be a DJ spinning. They say for the first. She's making stuff up. Yeah, they say for the first 200. Sylvester Stallone will be there with Tom Arnold. They say for the first 200 people in the door tomorrow. They slap you in the face. They say they'll be giving away anything from free clothes to gift cards. To children. Ranging from 10 bucks.
to $250. Why? How do they sell it cheaply? Mike, don't yell at me. I need to know this. I don't know. Like Costco, do you have an H&M card? All I know is they came from Switzerland and maybe they have cool deals over there. Maybe they're good friends with like Ikea or something. I don't know. They came from Switzerland. I get a lot of clothes from there. Shirts, pants, everything. Everything, accessories, shoes, it doesn't matter. Chula Vista. Yep. It's all great. Tomorrow, Otay Ranch Town Center at noon. That is awesome. Yeah, I knew you'd love that. It's bizarre news. Isn't that like on the front page of the paper today? No way. Look. What? Okay, that's just weird. Let me see that. That's just weird. It's the front page of the paper. The bottom front of the UT. Wow. Never heard of it. Never heard of it. County's first H&M location to open amid buzz and curiosity. Well, knock it off. It's weird already. But, like, it should mellow out because the one I go to in NorCal, I mean, it's a normal store when I go there. Mallow? It's not crazy. I wonder why it's so weird. Mallow? Mallow? I think we're starting to get a pattern here. What? Mallow. Skateboarder was seriously hurt when he got hit by a trolley in La Mesa yesterday.
What was he doing, trying to do tricks? No, he rode basically right in front of the trolley, and I'm sure no surprise to anybody, he was wearing headphones or earbuds or whatever at the time. Yeah, so serious injuries to his head, 20-year-old guy. That sucks. Happened about 5 o'clock yesterday in La Mesa, so he's in hospital. Take those out of your face. Yeah. If you're going to be riding bikes and doing stuff. Yeah, or keep them low enough where you can hear the surrounding noise as well. Ash? I was just going to say, like, it was really weird. I saw someone in the car with an iPod in listening to music the other day. It's illegal. Is it? Yep. Because I was going to say, I'm wondering if that's dangerous, too. Yeah, you're not supposed to do that. You can't hear ambulances or fire trucks. That's weird. Let's see. Chicago won the NBA lottery. How much did they win? No, no. A couple mil? No. What's up? They won the number one draft pick. Oh, wow. Remember how I told you? They put a bunch of names. Close. In a hat. Ping pong balls. Ping pong. Ping pong. And then Chicago's came out. There you go. That's stupid. It kind of is. Kind of. It's the worst, Eddie. I do care. I care a lot. Napster launched their new music story yesterday to say that they have just as many, if not more, songs than iTunes. Yeah, right. They say they do have more songs than iTunes. Whatever. Yeah, right.
They probably do, but it's like Helen Reddy. It's like a bunch of stuff you don't want. They have six million songs from major music labels and indie labels, and they say what's cool about their site. Sean, some people like that, okay? Like who? And they say what's cool about their site is you can download music onto any sort of digital media player from your phone to your iPod to your... When did it launch? Kazaa. When did it launch? I don't know. There's a bunch of different MP3 players. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're Kazaa, dude. You know what I'm talking about. That kid was probably listening to his Kazaa yesterday when he ran over. It launched yesterday, Mike. Can I load it on to my Blau Blau? Yes, you sure can. You definitely can, Sean. I want to put it on my Bluna. My Bluna. And the songs and albums cost about the same price. My Bluna. I got my new Bluna on. You know what I need. Your Bluna only holds three songs, though. It's terrible.
They don't have a search feature. You have to download it before you even get to see what songs. That's bunk. What are you talking about? Napster. Oh, you just went to their website? Just went to their website. And what I want to do is go, okay, let's see how good you are. Let me see this song by YNT. Oh, great. So that they come back and be like, well, you don't have YNT. Oh, but you have to like download. You got to download stuff before you even get to search. Whatever. I'm glad I have my bongi. Isn't iTunes the same thing? My bongi. My bonga. Same thing as iTunes. Stop. I'm playing it again. I don't even care. I don't even care. I'll do it again. I understand. 5701053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. But Philly guard Stanley Steely made it a day hard to forget, for he came up with a play that defied logic and maybe common sense. 18 seconds left. Philly up by five. Stanley calls timeout.
Did he want a new play? No, he just wasn't in the mood. A genius play, except that Philly had no timeouts, earning them a technical foul. And then he called another, and another, and then another. Six technical foul shots later, Philly lost by one. But to us at Corona, he's the game's MVP, for he reminds us that not even victory can beat ice-cold Corona. So remember, there is no I in team, but there is in line. This has been another great moment in timeout history. Corona and Corona Lite. Imported by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois. KIOZ San Diego. Oh, yeah. Hit it. Kia! Kia! Kia! Kia! Is that a first? It is a first, and there's a reason for it, Sky. Why? Well, people may not have been listening very early this morning, but Sky, you know, was not in the greatest moods, and I thought it would be nice to cheer her up. Wow. And so, you know, you weren't listening because it was really, it was like six o'clock. So let's go ahead and bring in Skye's cheer up. Skye, we're going to cheer you up right now. Are you ready? Okay, here we go. Walk into the studio here. I don't know what you're doing. The special, well, we have a special guest. Ladies and gentlemen. Oh, look at this. Mr. Roman Oban is here. Oh, big hug. Wow. Skye's busy hands.
Yes, yes. Oh, she is giddy. Well, listen. Look at that. Skye had a rough morning. She was not in the best mood earlier, and we thought we have a way. Let's see. Skye never helps anybody. I can't help them. I am. The thing's all checked out. Yeah, Roman, I got your back. Exactly. I've got your back. In fact, I'll massage your back right now. I'm good to go. There it is. That's fantastic. Well, if you're a new listener to The Mikey Show, Sky and Roman did an interpretive reading of the movie Titanic at one time. It was a long time ago. It was very romantic. We should have worn something for that. You really should have. It wasn't a dry eye in the house. And ever since then, Roman and Sky have been friends. They've known each other ever since. And we tease Sky a lot about her Roman Oban love. And Roman, what's going on? What do you got going? What are you doing? I'm doing good. I'm doing a lot of radio and television stuff right now, and I have not re-signed back with any team. And usually the football decision makes itself. So I think if you work out and you don't get that call, I've played 12 years in the NFL, so this will be my 13th season. But if you don't start doing things that you're going to do after football already, then it'll be tough evenings at home because you'll be driving your wife nuts and everybody else. How is the plantar fasciitis?
Oh, it's fine. I mean, I came back last season, obviously, you know, played. I was kind of on the team last year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Didn't play a lot because nobody got injured. You know, Marcus McNeil did a great job. Clary came in, stepped in for Shane Levy on the right side. But the foot's doing well. I feel as good as you can feel for 35 and 12 years in the league, which is like 50 and dog a year on your body. So when you walk around right now, do you feel aches and pains this far into your career? Do you still, as you're walking around, go, or do you feel? Just completely normal. I feel a little better than I do, obviously, during the season because you're not playing as much. But then you start picking up the competitive working out. I do stuff on the field. You're doing all these agilities like you're still getting ready to play because you still have to stay in shape. So it's just like all these injuries that have happened with all these competitive... Guys that play pickup basketball. I mean, guys are blowing their knees out. Like 40-year-old guys, like they're doing way too much now. So as long as I stay away from those guys, the guys from the basketball court, those leagues, I'm okay. Did you know that Sky still has the desktop? Sky, come look. Let me see this. Look at her computer. That is what has been there. Oh, man. It's a picture of her. It's a little creepy. Her hugging you. No, we're friends. I look at your office. You have this.
guy with a six-pack on your computer screen. Oh, Regan's? Yeah, I said, I can't compete with that guy. He's like 17 years old. He doesn't have your arms, though. Look at this guy's arms. Oh, I love him. I got the looks, though. Take it easy. Jeez, take it easy. I'm just saying. I don't know if this guy knew this, but I was supposed to come here and surprise you with a cake in October. Oh, my birthday? Yeah, it was around the 21st. And when the fires happened that Monday, he kind of threw everything off. So you know who ended up calling instead? Who did? The guy that's on her computer. What is his name, Eddie? Riggins. That's his character's name on the show. What is his real name? Taylor Kitsch or something like that. How old is he? Seriously? On the show, he plays a 17-year-old. So he's probably 45. No, he's 27. Is that what he said? Yeah. So it's all legit. That's what Sky tells herself to make herself feel better. Yeah, from Friday Night Lights. Yeah. It's all legit. That's what he told her when they were talking on MySpace or whatever. Oh, this is getting weird. Or whatever. You know you're married. What's up? I hate to ruin your game. My headphones are cutting out. She hates whenever we say that. Roman, would you ever coach? Or date Sky? Either or. Either or. You don't have a higher possibility of dating Sky than coaching. Would you not? You wouldn't coach? No, I think there are a lot of players that get into it, but the travel schedule and the hours, I could not do that to my family. I mean, play 12 years in the league.
Football is a player's game. It's not for coaches, and coaches will tell you. I mean, the hours you see, and you see some of the coaches have had issues. I mean, Andy Reid, bad example, but... You played for John Gruden. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He was a four-in-the-morning-to-midnight guy. For real? Yeah, like sleep on the couch. I mean, you hear all these horror stories. These coaches, they don't want to outwork each other. So if I'm John Gruden and... You know, Jeff Fisher in Tennessee, I heard he does something different. So I'm going to outwork him, and it's this competitive male, you know, not want to get outworked thing. Go back to college all the way. Did you play for a, because you're from? Cameroon. Cameroon. Yes. Did you play collegiate ball here? Yeah, I played, I didn't play football until 10th grade. We were just talking about that this morning. Yeah. And played one year, two years of varsity. Yeah. And got a scholarship, went to play University of Louisville. So I'm glad that I peaked at the right time. So. All the way back to Louisville, all the way through your professional football career, what head coach, or maybe even it was a position coach, but can you think of a coach that was just the roughest on you? I want to know a coach that was just like in your face, one of these guys that you did not want to have on, be on his bad side. I'd say Howard Stoneberger when I was in college. Really? Was he the head coach?
Yeah, he was the head coach. He's the guy that started Miami's program, and they won their first national championship in 83 against Nebraska. You know, you'd have the cigar and the bourbon and tell you all these stories about, you know, what you could do with hard work and determination, and he'd always had a... I mean, it was like Newt Rockne when he walked in the door, so that was my first... Imagine, like, having Marty in college. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, just the speeches. Well, Marty's whole thing, like, you know how Marty's was one play at a time? Like, that was his mantra to you guys, one play at a time. One play at a time, fellas. What about your college coach? Did he have a thing that he just kept driving into you guys and you hurt a million times? Well, he just said he was going to work you to death until you either you quit the team or you make us a better team. So every single day you were completely exhausted. We would run sprints and we had training camp in Kentucky during the state fair is around, you know, July, summertime. Yeah. During training camp, you'd have this smell of, like, all the fleas, like the flies, like the horse manure. Yeah, yeah. You'd smell that during training camp. Oh, that was fun. And it was hot and sticky. In Kentucky, I mean, full humidity, 90 degrees every day. Yeah. It was horrible. And they had you guys running sprints and stuff like that? Oh, yeah, because we practiced at the complex. So it's our football facilities is on one side, and the other complex was a state fair. So you see all the families going back and forth.
The people that eat are those kind of restaurants that they warn you about. See, man, that's what makes me think that guys like Brett Favre that kept coming back and kept coming back, they must have loved that game so much to put up with that training camp part of it. Because when you watch these shows on HBO, what's that show called, Eddie? Hard Knocks. Oh, Kansas City Chiefs. Dude, when they, it wasn't, they did it them, Dallas, Baltimore, and, you know, and I know what you guys go through. When they show those training camps that are back east and in the south, They look so miserable. Oh, it's horrendous. It's so hot, Roman. It's so hot. But at least you start in high school or you're a kid and you work your way up. I mean, I don't suggest the 25-year-old guy who's never put on pads to go do a training camp. You probably couldn't pass the physical. I was talking to a friend of mine who played for UTEP, and he said that those guys would be out there working them in El Paso. It's just so hot. And he says, In the state of Texas, because football is so important, high school and college, if you threw up, you just drank water and went back. Yeah, exactly. There was no warnings of staying inside today. That would be the biggest farce. You'd watch the news, the weather in the morning. Today's a heat advisory. Everyone stay inside. Don't go inside today. Oh, yeah, we got three days. Totally ignore that warning. Three a days. Yuck. Dude, I don't want to think about it day. Yeah.
Thinking about it wears me out. Doing it, forget it. That is so brutal. So what are you going to do, Roman? Are you going to go play for a team? Are you going to go play, re-sign with it? What are you going to do? Well, I'm going to let that decision make itself. And, you know, a lot of people ask me that question. But a lot of veterans usually sign by the end of the summer. But we're actually going to move back to the East Coast. No! Moving at the end of the summer. Where are you going to go? Do you know what? We built a home actually in northern New Jersey right outside New York City. Really? It doesn't bother you the really hot, hot summers and the cold, cold winters out there? I would think you want to live in paradise, man, in San Diego. Yeah. See, I like it here, but I think growing up as a kid, if you don't have that experience of when it snows, you go out there and you get those snowballs and you belt those public buses that drive by. If you don't have that experience growing up, then you don't have a childhood. So you will enjoy being back there in that snow. Well, you don't want to make the move in the middle of December. You go summertime, you get three good months, and it gradually gets worse, the weather, then it gradually gets better. So I like looking forward to the good weather, like March, April. That's always the best time. Did you really build from the ground up? I think it was a development, and you get to choose whatever you want. What you want to do. The brick style on the inside. Women usually get off on the... Sure. What was your theme? What kind of walls did you have? Yeah, yeah, yeah. All that stuff. That's cool. Well...
I would love to see a plane again. I can't imagine a human being getting by you to a quarterback. I just, I can't imagine. Well, Eddie claims that he could. Eddie says you could do it. Remember Eddie said that? I'm not a big drinker at all, but he'd have to give me a couple of drinks for you. That is true. I said, if you gave me ten chances. One out of the ten. You know, my wife and I would do this in the kitchen. I have one arm behind my back. Now, Roman, was your wife, did she even come close with your arm behind your back? Did she even come close? Sometimes she'd give me a spin move and it would work. And that's because I didn't pay attention. That's so funny, man. You got to let them win. It's like your kid. You got to let them win. You got to let them win once. I don't care. Otherwise, they don't want to play anymore. Except for charity. Tell me about what you, what would you tell a kid that, you know, I know you're not going to coach, but now you get, you know, 20 seconds to do it on the radio. What would you tell a kid wants to be an offensive lineman?
And what would you tell him to remember that will really help him? Well, first thing I would tell him is to not take anything for granted, anything your coaches tell you, anything your parents tell you. And I think the development of a person as a whole is going to help you in football. So don't get outworked. And I think don't do too much because kids now are doing way too much, too much training. Sports is a 12-month job now. I mean, my six-year-old does 15 things every week, so I have to take my own advice. But I would just say just work hard. Don't get outworked. And just look at the team first because the better you are as a team to help your team, you'll be better as a player. I asked Lou Bush this as a linebacker one time. Lou was in here, and I said, Lou, what do you tell your kid? And he said those kinds of things. I said, now give me something, an actual on-the-field tip for a linebacker. He goes, I'll tell you. He said, never take your eyes off the running back. He said, keep your eyes on him. And he said, and always look them straight in the eye. Never close your eyes when you're about to make impact. Never close your eyes. Do you have anything like that that you could tell a young, like maybe a high school kid listening right now that could get a piece of information from Roman Oban, offensive tackle on a professional level? Oh, yeah. What can you tell him? Well, I'll tell him if you're pass blocking. A lot of guys doing these head fakes and these juke moves, but the trunk of your body never moves. They said the numbers never move. So always look at the numbers.
Always look at a certain number and put your hands on that number and keep your hands inside, and you'll win 90% of the time. That is so cool to hear. And hold onto their jersey. And it's only holding you to get caught. That's called holding. Only if you get caught. Right. So do it, but don't do it and let the ref see you doing it. That's why you keep your hands inside. Roman, what team would you play? And it could be any when you played for the Bucs, when you played here. What team did you play where the bottom of that pile, dudes were the nastiest? Your opponent. When I was in New York, I spent my first four years at the Giants. And we'd have some heated NFC East, you know, the Eagles, the Redskins. And every time I went back home to play the Redskins, you know, I had to get 50 tickets and all these requests. But there were just teams that didn't like each other. And I think sometimes a team becomes indicative of the city you play in. Like, you play for a tough city like Raiders. You become, like, part of that team. I kind of took on this New York mentality, and any time we'd play Washington, I wanted to get anybody that was looking. Any time somebody wasn't looking, I'd take a cheap shot. Oh, that's hysterical. I mean, you better protect your jewels. So seriously, so Roman, when that would happen, though.
they had to pay you back, right? I mean, in the NFL, you're getting it. That's part of it. If you're going to punch somebody, you better be able to take a punch, too. So you knew it was coming, right? Oh, yeah. Oh, dude. You knew it was coming. Yeah, I've gotten laid out after, especially every time a quarterback throws an interception, the defensive line. go after the quarterback and the offensive lineman because we've been cheap-shotting a guy. I mean, look, Chris Dielman, who I wanted to hook up with Ashley but just didn't work out. Right. But Chris Dielman, he's the number. Him, Nick Hardwick, I mean, we're always going after guys under the pile after a play. Yeah. You get the D-lineman thinking about that instead of what they got to do on the field, then seven points later, get off the field. I don't remember who it was we were talking to. It could have been Roman, but what he was saying, that you're, he was just saying, the jewels. We've talked about this in an interview before. That's like, you better, keep them in. I think it was Kyle Turley. Yeah, it was Kyle Turley. He said that he has been on the bottom of those piles and grabbed a hold and practically, and to him too, he says also to him, he says where he thinks this guy's going to pull them off.
Oh, my God. If not for skin and muscle, I mean, I'm sure. Dude, I mean, these NFL guys, you don't know. Dude, they are not messing around in those piles, man. I mean, they go for it. That hurts. I don't know how you get up after that and play another play, and you got to play another play right away. That's what I miss about college. You could do more in college. You don't get fined. You don't get a letter from the NFL. You just go back to class on Monday, and that's it. When this happens, when you talk about those letters. The NFL players, you guys have a little cubby where you get mail and stuff and they sort the mail. So is it literally you're done with practice or whatever, or you just get there, you're wearing street clothes, you're about to change into practice clothes, you pull all the stuff out of your cubby, you're going through fan mail, fan mail, and uh-oh. Do you have those moments where it's from the NFL? Is there a certain look to the envelope where you go, uh-oh? Actually, it's FedEx to you, so it actually appears on your locker. So you just hope that by Wednesday, because you know if you did something that you could get fined for. Right. You're like, if I don't get that letter by Wednesday, then I'm straight. But you know what happens? You get the letter on Thursday instead. By Friday, are you safe? Oh, yeah, you're safe. But definitely Thursday, you'll get that letter. Okay.
Now, do you do this where you walk into the locker room and you see FedExes on other, and you're like, oh, bro. Sorry, dude. Is it like that? And like everybody's kind of, John, like maybe he's not there yet, whoever that guy is. And you guys are like, you see the FedEx? You see the FedEx? Yeah, exactly. Like it's one of those situations. So what happens? So when you open it up, is there an envelope inside the FedEx or is it a letter that you pull out? No, it's a letter that comes out and it's like a memo form. It's addressed to you, to your agent, and to A.J. Smith. So that's the three people that got it? Yeah. So you know A.J.'s ripping it open right then, too. Well, the organization has to get a copy. Right. And your agent has to get a copy. So they tell you what happened. But you're worried because you're going, oh, my boss is looking at this right now. But they don't care. It's not his paycheck. The money's getting taken off. Oh, really? So they're not? Okay. They just have to keep it on their record. They don't get tagged at all for it in any way. No. I mean, you got fined in the third quarter of this play. You hit this guy late. It was conduct detrimental. Did it list the other player's name? It just said a player on this other team. And we have fined you under code section or whatever. You've gotten fined $7,500. That is already taken off your next paycheck. And you have an appeal date. If you do choose to do this appeal, this is the process that you make. And that's what happens. Dude.
And if you're Rodney Harrison, you get $4 in your next paycheck. Yeah, pretty much. Or you end up owing money. Yeah, the FedExes are, like, spilling over into my locker. I'm like, Rodney. You're like, dude, do you own stock in FedEx? Yeah, can you control your envelopes? It became comedy, some of these guys. A lot of these safeties, like him, Brian Dawkins, John Lynch. I mean, you'd get a letter every other week. I mean, you're appealing fines every other week. And that's what you have to do, right? I mean, you've got to appeal it and go through the process of appeal. Oh, man. That's crazy. I can only imagine. I mean, even if it's, let's say you're playing in the NFL, you're a millionaire, it doesn't matter. No matter what, when you get that envelope, you got to get that feeling, you know, like the stomach feeling, the butterfly, you know. I mean, I don't care how much money you make. If Bill Gates lost 20 bucks, he'd go find it. I'm pretty sure of that. So if you make, and we don't make that much money compared to him, but if you get taken. $5,000 off your next paycheck, it's going to affect you. Sure. That's a good chunk, man. Sure. That's a good chunk of money. I mean, you make a lot of money, Mike, so. Listen, it ain't Roman Open money. Use that in the toilet. It ain't Roman Open money. Let me tell you. Well, listen, Roman, I hope, man, I want to see you play some more. I want to see you play some more, and I would love it if you were right here.
I mean, Skye is upset that you're moving away all the way back to the East Coast. But Roman told me if he starts a radio show up on the East Coast. Yeah, I'm going to have to take her with me. Oh, really? Is that right? No problem. Eddie was right about to ask Roman if he does the news. I mean, we may have a position for you, Roman. Roman plays tackle and news. There it is. Well, thank you, Roman. We appreciate it. And you cheered Sky up. Yes, thank you. I've become a household name in San Diego for that, and that was like three years ago. Do you still get people coming up to you? Oh, I love you. I heard you in Sky. Do you guys ever go out? I know that's kind of weird. You're like, hey, I'm married. It's a joke. We have fun. It's just a joke. Is it? You on base control, or are you sticking with time? Sean can play those sound effects because he's not sitting in the room. He doesn't know how uncomfortable it is when he plays it. He doesn't have a 300-pound dude sitting right next to him. I just hope this is all too good to be true. Roman, how tall are you? 6'4 1⁄2". 6'4 1⁄2". How much do you weigh? About 3, 305, about a size 16 shoe. Oh, my goodness. You know what they say, Scott.
He's got a big shoe. That's what they say. They say big shoes. Big shoes, big feet. That's what they say. But what about women? If you were like a 10 or 11, is that anything for women? Does that apply? No. Sky, what size shoe do you wear? An 8. Oh, you know what they say. What do they say, Eddie? They say, once you go 8, you really are great. What? That's what they say. Roman, is it legal for guys, defensive guys, to slap you in the helmet? No, it's totally illegal. But refs don't always see it. They don't always see it, unfortunately. You don't want to be that guy that complains to the referee and watch this guy and he's doing this. I mean, let the coaches do that. Who do you play against? Defensive end. Who do you play against that you know, man, you got your day cut out for you? Well, you know, guys have changed over the years. And I always say that guys don't play as hard as they used to. Really? You do get some guys. I mean, Merriman, Sean Phillips, we've got some good pass rushers here. A lot of defensive ends, they just disappear until that year before free agency. Then they have 15 sacks, get paid a lot of money. Then they go to the next team and just tank it out again. What a weird business. It is, man. I mean, NFL is weird. I never knew that. I came in against, I came in the league in the mid-90s. I was playing against Richard Dent. I mean, Bruce Smith when he was really good. Dude, Bruce Smith must do it. John Randall when he was at Minnesota, painting his face. I mean, I played against him. Reggie White. Yeah, some dogs, man. The new guys are out now. I mean, guys.
You know, marketing. Those guys you just mentioned. Yeah. Who was the toughest to block against them? I'd say Mike McCrary when he was at Baltimore. Wow, really? Yeah, Mike McCrary. And that's back, you know, we could take your Federer back then. So guys would, oh, rip fuel. We'd take everything before the game. But you better drink a gallon of water because you'd have a heart attack. So you got all charged up. Yeah, yeah, get charged up. Forget it, man. Guys were on everything back then, too. You ever play against Michael Strahan? Well, we were teammates. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, we were teammates. So we practiced against him. But, no, he was good. I mean, percentage-wise, what percent was he giving you in practice? Like 75% because you don't want to. I mean, I'm not going to waste my bullets on my teammate Wednesday and Thursday. Just like during the season, you practice against Merriman Phillips. You know, he's working on a new move, and we'll talk about it. You know, what can he do against the guys he's going to play against? So it's like working together as opposed to really trying to beat up a guy. So you'll tell Sean Merriman, you'll say, do this, you get by this guy better. Yeah, him. I mean, Sean Phillips especially. He'll come back to me on the sidelines and say, you know, what do you think that guy's giving me? What is he doing? Because if he gets a sack, that's better for defense. It puts him in a better position to punt. Offense gets a nice, easy possession. So it's anything you can do to help the team. And can you watch on the sidelines and say, here's what that guy's doing, that you can beat him if you do this? Well, especially if they're on our sideline. It's hard to watch the jumbotron in the game, and you're watching them on the other side of the field.
Anytime, you know, and the quarter's always switched possessions, so anytime the quarter's on this side, then I can always watch it. I mean, him, Castillo, Jacques Cesar, I mean, I always try to give those guys pointers on what, because especially since I got injured, it wasn't a start anymore after 2005, so I've actually been able to watch the game and, like, look at the bigger picture. You watch sports on TV? It's hard, man. It's, um, I'm not a jock, so it's just, just watching the game. You're not a jock? Yeah, but, I mean, you play in the NFL. There's a lot more to Roman, okay, guys? Well, you gotta... I watch the game and watch the matchups. I don't watch what the commentators are saying. I don't watch the commercials. I don't get the popcorn. I'm always watching my position. I'm always watching the matchups and the things that... Sky was always watching Roman Oban. She never really cared about the game. She always wanted to see what Roman was doing. She couldn't tell you probably. Sky, what side does he play, right or left? The handsome side. He's on the left. He's on the left.
That's cool. Roman, this is very nice of you to stop in, man. Thank you, guys, man. You guys are awesome. You're the best. You're welcome, Eddie. You're the best. Eddie's my draft pro here. We had a good show, man. Eddie came back and said, dude, Roman was really good on the radio. I bought all my magazines, did my cutouts, I did little tabs, color coordinated. He had little post-it notes on everything. It was awesome, man. I was like, Roman, got it going on. Look at that. Roman, who was the best offensive tackle, you think, this year? Was it Jake Long? Oh, in the draft? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think he was the best. I think he was the best upside. He played big-time competition, Big Ten guy. I mean, I think he's going to be good. I just hope that, I mean, the last two years, I mean, Mark McNeil, Joe Andrews from Cleveland, I mean, rookies have been able to start at left tackle and perform. So if they've got a good running game in Miami this year, they've got a good running back, and I think they should be fine. You just don't want to be that rookie tackle playing for Arizona and it's third and 15 every time you turn around. That's not a good experience for a rookie to be. So I told Marcus when he... When I got injured and he started in 2006, I go, look, we have a great running game. I mean, three-step drops. I mean, you're not going to have to be out there for a long time. So enjoy being a part of a good team because it could be the other way around. I got a random question just popping into my head. Bing. Did you ever have quarterbacks give you – I've heard of this, but I don't know if it's really the deal. You ever have quarterbacks give you a nice gift for doing a good job? Oh, yeah. I've had some really good gifts. Brad Johnson, Super Bowl, you gave us all –
Flat screens, little 20-inch flat screens. Wow. And then you had some cheap bastards like Tim Couch who gave us... What did he give you? He gave us, like, a DVD player. And it's the... You know when you go to Best Buy somewhere? Like, why do it if you're going to? Like, come on. That's $110, the cheapest one you can get. Like, it's 2002. I've had a DVD player for 10 years at this point. That's hysterical, man. See, that's why it's not in the league anymore, man. It was the karma from that right there. 570-1053.
