David Cook's American Idol victory split Mikey, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, and callers over singing ability, marketability, and whether his emotion was authentic. The show mixed a serious civil-rights argument about county clerks refusing same-sex weddings with signature comedy bits including Ashley's Tone-Deaf Karaoke, Eddie's cruel advice to a balding bachelor, Sean's bizarre wedding memories, and Sean TV's discovery of C-Dub. Ashley defended her belief that she fell in love with Mark at first sight, while Eddie and Mikey said she was describing chemistry and attraction rather than love. The hosts also covered a fugitive's crash at Jack in the Box, Lou Pearlman's $300 million fraud sentence, and the accidental death of Stephen Curtis Chapman's young daughter.
What happened, in order
David Cook's contested Idol win
David Cook beat David Archuleta by 12 million votes, prompting the hosts to argue over who sang better, who would sell more records, and whether Cook's tearful reaction was genuine.
The chase into Jack in the Box
A mistakenly released murder suspect led police on a freeway chase, abandoned his still-running car as it crashed outside a Jack in the Box, and was caught trying to flee on foot.
Can clerks refuse gay weddings?
Mikey, Eddie, Sky, and callers debated whether county employees with religious objections could refuse same-sex wedding ceremonies, with Eddie arguing that public servants must enforce the law or find another job.
Sean's surreal wedding
The crew reconstructed Sean's Moroccan-restaurant wedding as a surreal scene involving a preacher discussing Auschwitz, floor pillows, a blue domed cake, belly dancers, ceremonial garb, and a monkey in a fez.
Tone-Deaf Karaoke
Ashley mangled songs by Bow Wow Wow, Live, Billy Joel, and 'Til Tuesday while callers struggled to identify them for Iron Maiden tickets.
Tough Love for a balding bachelor
Eddie answered a worried 35-year-old losing his hair by mocking his romantic prospects and recommending an enormous purple handlebar mustache as a distraction.
Love at first sight showdown
Ashley insisted she loved Mark from their first awkward handshake-and-hug, while Eddie and Mikey argued that instant chemistry and attraction only become love after people know each other.
Sean TV discovers C-Dub
Sean enthusiastically recommended C.W. 'Butch' Welch's deeply monotone outdoor cooking show, leaving the others baffled by hornets, oily steaks, and the obscure RFD-TV network.
Lou Pearlman and $300 million fantasies
After Lou Pearlman's 25-year sentence for stealing $300 million, Boston Rob imagined buying into the Red Sox and funding inventions such as Cookie Stone and a TiVo for radio.
Stephen Curtis Chapman's family tragedy
Mikey described how Christian singer Stephen Curtis Chapman's five-year-old daughter died after her teenage brother accidentally struck her while backing a vehicle out of the family driveway.

6-0-7. An Amber Alert has been issued for a three-year-old Sacramento boy who has reportedly been kidnapped by his father. The dad is considered armed and dangerous. Albert Pujols took out two Padre players in one inning. He first lined a ball off of Chris Young's face. Oh, my gosh. Is he okay? Well, he broke his nose and was bleeding everywhere. Oh, my gosh. The men slid into home and took out Josh Bart's ankle. And then the Padres lost 11-3. So not a good day. So the Padres literally beat up by the St. Louis Cardinals. Well, Albert Pujols. By the Albert Pujols Cardinals. Yes, yes. Holy moly. Wow. Oh, that's really, really. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. you get this little sign that says, no, no, no, no, no. It totally can. Let's see it. Okay. All right. All right. Good night now. Right in the face. Good night now. Nap time. Have you guys seen this? Ash, have you seen this yet? Come check this out. This is the first time I've seen that. Yeah, Channel 4 freaked out and we're like, we can't even show this again. Really? Pretty gruesome.
Well, NBC739 doesn't have a problem showing it. Check this out. Third inning, Albert Poulos, line drive. Oh, in the snot rocker. Broken nose. He's on his way to the hospital. Snot rocker, I think is what he called it. Is it a concussion or brain injury or minimal? Two batters later. Are people laughing? In the studio there? Yeah. I don't know. It sounds like it. Let's see. Pretty tough to watch. Check this out. Third inning, Albert Poulos, line drive. Oh, right in the snot locker. Broken nose. He's on his way to the hospital. Snot locker kind of gets me a little bit, too. Chances of a concussion or brain injury are minimal. Two batters later, Troy Glouse. Oh, I'm sorry. That's okay. That's okay. We're still recovering from snot locker. What's the limit in his verbal description of the baseball? Dude, what is up, man? What is up? Oh, that's brutal. That's crazy. Oh, man. The season everyone wants to forget. Oh, my. It's bad. It's bad. It's bad. It's bad season. Oh, gee. The pods. It's not cool. Eddie, do they still stand a chance to win the... No, Mike. Come on. We can't say. Hey, there's over 100 games left. Yeah, man. They could go 100 and 0. What if they win all the games? Yeah. I don't know.
Hey, listen. Last year, what did they win? 84 or something like that? Maybe they'll win 84 of the games. They only have 17 right now. That's hard to do then. It'll be very hard. It'll be hard to do. How many do you think that they would win? I choose to refrain from that question. Fine. It's alright with me. On grounds that I will be plugging them later. It's a tough one. Let's see. 570-1053 is our phone number. And we would love to hear from you. We would love for you to pick up the cell phone, dial it up, 570-1053. Pick up your home phone, pick up your office phone, wherever you are, and give us a call. Hook up your Bluetooth. Yeah. Hook that sucker up. Get that sucker dialed in. I did not get a lot of sleep last night.
Well, we were up late, and I get up really, really early, so equaled about four hours. Early, like what, 4 a.m.? No, I was up at 2.10. Oh, jeez. Okay. That's not early. That's insane. I know. I was up at 2.10. That's the middle of the night. And I fell asleep at, well, I went to sleep at 10.15. I did get to see this, though. Before I went to sleep, I did get to see this. Cut. The winner by 12 million votes of American Idol 2008 is David. Insert fake cry here. Did David Cook fake cry? You say that was fake, right? You didn't see it? Well, I did, but I don't know. I interpreted it as a happy man, you know? I don't know. I'm a fan. Eddie's giving Sky a look like. Why is everybody back? I thought we were all the same piece. I thought we were all friends.
What happened? Were we all on the same page? No, I clearly agreed that David... We're all wearing brown today. I thought we were all friends. Yeah, I thought you guys were all on the same page with the brown and everybody's wearing brown. No, I've never hated him. I admitted that David Archuleta sang better than him on the finals, but I would have preferred David Cook to win. Yeah. Oh, this is offensive. I don't know what to do with life. I know. You wanted Archuleta to win? He clearly won. Like, I based it on singing. I don't know. Oh, well, sorry. I don't know. Isn't that how the competition's going? I based it on the whole package. Sorry. I will fully admit David Cook will sell more records. Yeah, sure. But that's not what it's about. It's about who is going to be the best singer. Who is the best singer in the competition? I would prefer to listen to a song by David Cook than David Archuleta. I agree with you. I know they're both going to make albums. That's not the point. That's not the point. It's my point. That's how I vote. You ruined the show. I did not. I made the show awesome. I'm no longer in the brown club. I'm taking my sweater off. I have a question for you guys. I'll be particularly interested in what Sky thinks. Sky, do you feel that David Cook's reaction was insincere?
To be honest, I did not see his reaction. Why not? I fell asleep prior to his reaction. You didn't even see the... You didn't even see the... I fell asleep. I'm sorry. You did not see the winner. I did not get an app yesterday. I did not get an app. You did not see the winner. You did not see the winner. And I fell out. Hold up. Wait a minute. So I cannot comment on the question. Wow. Eddie, did you feel that David Cook's reaction was insincere? After winning? You know, I mean, that's a big deal. I don't know that it was insincere. I just don't like the guy. He's douchey. He's douchey. Cut 22. I started this season much to Simon's chagrin as the word nerd, and I am absolutely at a loss for words right now. Thank you, guys. This is the...
We all remember that. This is amazing. Thank you. Thanks. Congratulate him. Very normal. Oh, great. Yeah. Did you see it, Sean? Well, I mean, he wasn't even expected to win, so of course. With the face. With the face. With the face already, right? He kept covering his face. Thank you, Sean. Which is like, of course, going to tell the audience, oh, I'm overwhelmed. I'm crying. But then he put his hands down, and there's no tears. That's a good point, Ashley. I didn't see any tears. Well, he didn't say he was. He didn't announce, I'm about to cry. Oh, no, no, no. But he didn't have to be all dramatic either. I saw him actually say, I don't know if you can see this right now, but I am physically crying. That's basically what he said. There's our salty discharge right here. Yes. Okay. Yes. Can you see this liquid salty discharge? Coming out of my face. Wow. It's like he was trying to be surprised, but I don't think he really was. I think he knew he was going to win. And I also think that Simon Cowell knew the results. Yes. Prior to the results being read. Why? Because that guy backpedaled quicker than Deion Sanders. Really? Oh, yeah. Big time. It was crazy. Yeah. Like, he apologized, which he never does. He said he watched the show back. He apologizes all the time, actually.
disrespectful to David Cook. And I'm like, huh? Who is this? So you know who wins. Sorry. It's alright. I'm sorry, Simon. You just insulted me. P1 Matt is on the line. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hi, Matt. What's going on? What's up, dude? What's up? Just real exciting times. Just calling. Always a great time. End of American Idol because we don't have to hear you guys talk about that. It's a gay show. Hey, dude, 100 million votes were cast for that gay show. Oh, my gosh. Think about it. That's a lot. Hey, dude, listen. I don't watch it anymore, but I used to, man. I was in, but I don't watch any TV anymore. But if I still watch TV, there's no doubt in my mind I'd still be hooked on that crack. Yep.
Yo, Crass. That show is what's wrong with America. It's actually why the Taliban hates us, I found out. I just read that. I just read that. Don't disagree with them. It was the cover of Newsweek. We deserve it. Why America hates us, and then American Idol was on the cover. Yeah, this may be my last year. No, it won't. You're such a liar. You're so full of it. Every year we say that. You're a liar. Don't blow kisses. You guys know who's on line three? No. It's P1 Matt. is online through. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. Good morning. How you guys doing? Good, man. How you doing? I'm doing good. Just how much you need to work. You're going to work? Yes, on my way to work. Cool, Matt. Thought I'd call and say hi. First time on the radio, so kind of excited. Right on. Hi. Hey, Matt.
Going to tell all my buddies about this at work. So just wanted to say have a good day. Happy Thursday. It's almost Friday. Party on. Enjoy the day. What? What's the screen? It was. You bet it was. Yes, it was. I told him to make sure he says party on. When you get on the air, don't forget party on. You have to say party on. That's like our sign off. That's our sign off? Party on. Party on, dude. Party on to you. Because he said that, Rob. Put him through. Yeah, I guess so. Party on. That's right. What do you do, sir? What do you do, Matt? I'm actually, I'm a medic in the military. There you go. What's the word? I don't want to know the answer. I was going to ask you the worst injury you've seen, but maybe I don't want to know that. No, I don't know. If you worked at a hospital, I thought. Pretty bad one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't want to hear it. Too early. Yeah. Tell me a joke.
What was that? I say, tell me a joke. Are you a joke? Yep. I don't know if any of the jokes I know are appropriate for the radio. All right. Good enough. Party on. Party on. I can email you one. All right. Thank you. Thank you very much. Hey, thank you. Party on. Have a good weekend. Ash, how's your neck? The range of motion is... Slowly but surely coming back. Oh, good. We can now do this. And I'm there, and I'm okay. Wow. So it's come a long way. That's pretty good. As opposed to yesterday, it was like that. Oh. Yeah, I could do that. Wow. That's fantastic. Don't give me that look. She's very sensitive about her neck, apparently. Yes. You gotta be careful. What did I... What was my look? Eddie. I'm not saying this. Eddie. I ain't saying nothing. Bro. What's that, dude? What did I do? I don't think you did anything. You gave her a look.
Oh, you gave me a look. I gave you a look? You gave her a look. What was my look? That you don't believe me. Oh, no. I don't like that look. Oh, wow. And I don't like that look. No, not only do I believe you. I thought it was a concern, but. Yeah, it was a concern. That's cool. Be careful. I called a lot of urgent cares yesterday. That's cool, dude. You did? Yeah. And what you say when you called. I was just calling to say hi. Oh, okay. That's interesting. Ashley took Sammy to the dog park last night. See how far I can move it to the right tomorrow. You can compete in the Paralympics now, apparently. The what Olympics? I understand that she's going to be playing murder ball later this afternoon. Okay, you done now? Get it all out of your system. I didn't do anything. They're doing amazing stuff in Mexico with stem cells. They are, Eddie. They are. There is hope for Ash.
You can do it. There's hope. Are we done? Are we done? There is a private conversation happening in my head. There is. But I'm good. Okay. Oh, boy. Ash also watched the Manchester versus Chelsea game last night. No way. What up? Did you see that game, Brad? I wish I would have. It was crazy. We, you know. That's crazy. the kibosh and American Idol and me and my boyfriend. I love that guy. I love you so much. And his brother and we were like, watch the game. We watched the game. It was good. Came down a penalty kiss. Manchester U. Eddie, but I don't I've never heard you talk about really digging that. I love soccer. Remember how many two of the
The World Cup I was in? Oh, that's right. I forgot about that. I watched every minute of the World Cup. I love soccer. These guys are crazy. There it is. Yeah, last night. I didn't even know it was on. I T-voted, so I'll be able to watch it. No, you did not. You didn't, though. I'll watch it. On what channel? It was on the international channel. I forget what that is. It's my favorite channel. That's right. The international one. P1 Floyd, are you there? What's going on? What's going on, Mikey? Not too much, dude. Hey, I think David Cook got less votes than Archuleta. You think it was like a scam then? I think so. I mean, Cook's obviously more marketable, so. Did you say marketable? Marketable. Are you from Boston? I'm from Rhode Island. There it is. England. I agree with this guy. Rob, what do you think about? Rhode Islanders. Are they cool? Yeah. When I was like 15, 14, 15, you can get into certain bars down there, so I love going. You go down to Providence, the living room. The living room, man. I used to play in the living room. Oh, yeah, dude. I used to go down there when I was 15. Hey, is this Marty? Great. Go down to Thayer Street. Oh, yeah. Remember the old Strand? Yep, I do. All right. I saw the... The Strand moved, so did... Mike.
Yeah, dude. That was one of my first shows. Seen the Barstones over at the Strand, dude. It's like 12 years old. Able to drink. Greatest place ever. It's real. Took my first acid there. Even at that McDonald's, they got Big Macs there. That's crazy. No, but the living room is right behind that Dunkin' Donuts. Thank you, Rob. That's sensational. Well, there actually was an article yesterday on MSNBC saying that the producers of Idol wanted David Cook to win because he was more marketable. It was clear the judges were saying that he should win, you know, all prior to the finale when they couldn't say it. Paula was saying, you're the winner. And Simon was saying you're the best and going on all the TV shows saying he should win. Yep. Oh, there you go, dude. Thank you for the call. Scam. All right, we'll see you. P1 Chopper. Chopper, are you there? Whose chopper is this? P1 Chopper, are you there? Well said. Chopper is this. She nailed that accent. What did she think of her pregnant stomach? What did she call it? A pot. I want a pot.
Blueberry pancakes. Blueberry pancakes. P1 Herald. Hey, Mikey. How you doing? Good, man. What's up? Hey, you know, I did want Archuleta to win it, but after watching that ZZ Top performance by David Cook, I'm actually okay with him winning. What do you guys think? You know, I actually thought everybody sounded really good last night. I was kind of impressed with the way everybody sang, and I thought it was cool and relevant, and all the people they brought out was cool. I was into the whole thing, and yeah, I thought David Cook sang well with ZZ Top, but that doesn't count. Stand now. You got it, man. It was off the hook, bro. I don't know that it was off the hook. It might have been off the chain. He took the receiver off it and left it off the table. No, no. It might have been off the chain. I saw it. I tried to call and I got a busy signal. I don't know that it was off the hook. I don't know, guys. It was off the hook. I don't know. Let's calm down. Let's calm down. Talk to you later. Thank you. It's too bad we can't take our cell phones off the hook. We can't do that. It would be good. You could turn your ringer off, right? Yep. Is that the same thing?
But I wish that there was like something that you could do that you could set your cell phone so that if anybody called, they got a busy signal. They don't get to leave a message. You know what I mean? And it's not that you're ignoring their call. It's that you just happen to be on the other line. Yeah, you're talking to somebody. It's not your bad. You didn't pick up. Just do it Rob style and leave your mailbox full. There you go. This mailbox is full. Eddie, you've got that calling him, right? So irritating. Just text me. I'll be at the living room. There was a high-speed chase here in San Diego yesterday. What? It was a crazy one, dude. On Camino del Rio. Well, it was on the 5, and then it ended at Camino del Rio. Yeah, it went north on the 5.
From downtown to Del Mar and then back south on the five from Del Mar down to like Rosencrantz, Camino. Rosencrantz? Am I not saying that right? Rosencrantz. Rosencrantz. Oh, I guess there's not any. Down in Rosencrantz. I always thought it was Rosencrantz. Get the number four at Rosencrantz. You learn something every day. Kiss me the goat. It's better for you. Everything's organic there, and it's all kosher. You're gorgeous. And then it ended when the dude jumped out of his car and left his car still running, and it crashed into the jack-in-the-box on Camino Del Rio. Yeah, and Hancock. Yeah, it crashed into the jack-in-the-box there, and then he tried to run, and they got him. Let's see. This is a witness. Cut 58. It was scary. You know, you think that they were going to hit to keep on coming. But that rock was there and he just stopped right there. What's that? In front of the Jack in the Box. Jack in the Rock? There's like a big rock. They changed the name to Jack in the Rock. There's a rock. In honor of it. It stopped them from crashing through the restaurant. Next to the deli. That's right. Get a spritzer.
Yeah, I guess this guy was a murder suspect who was mistakenly released. Oh, man, that changed the mood of everything, didn't it? Yeah, mistakenly released from a Florida jail. That happens. Yeah. What? Mistakenly? Our bad. Sorry. Shouldn't have let you out. Can you come back? Oh, man. Let's see. Yeah. These things happen. This is going to be a topic of conversation today. The county says they're not going to force employees who object to same-sex marriage to perform ceremonies on the sameys. They're not going to do that. If they don't want to do it, they don't have to. Yeah, like if I work there and I'm like, hey, religious purposes, man, I'd rather not marry these two. Then they'll say, all right, you don't have to. Even though that's your job. Yeah, well, the bottom line is that you don't.
They don't have to do that. Law or not. I mean, even if they said, even if this hadn't happened and the guy didn't say you don't have to, they don't have to. Can I ask a question? You don't have to do that. Yeah. But to see me. Stop it. Oh, no. Stop it. Sorry. My question is, how is that different? This is just, I don't know. How would that be different maybe from like. back when it became legal for African Americans to ride the bus, and then all of a sudden bus drivers are saying... Hey, I'm not going to drive this bus if a black person's on it. Something like that. Like if a white guy's like, hey, I ain't doing this if a black person's going on it. He didn't have to do that. Yeah. He didn't have to do that either. So that's just allowed? You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. Like, I'll give you your job, though. But that's what I'm saying. The bus driver would lose his job. But the county is saying... No, it's okay for you to not have to perform these ceremonies. You don't have to do your job. If Shauna, our program director, comes to me and says, listen, I want you to do something, and I go, oh, yeah, that's against my moral judgment, then I'm prepared to lose my job over it. 100%. Well, that's not true. 150% ready to lose my job over it.
But is that the case or they're not going to lose their jobs? They're not going to. That's the thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's the beauty of it is that this guy stepped in and said, well, you don't have to. Like what if you came in here and said to Shauna, you know what? I can't go on the air on Wednesdays because that is against my religious beliefs. Is that acceptable? Because that's your job to be on the air on Wednesdays. That's a question for Shauna. Shauna, is that acceptable that I'm not here on Wednesdays? And she goes, no. I go, oh, OK, guess I don't have a job. I mean, at least on Wednesdays. And then if she says, well, if you don't come in on Wednesdays, you ain't coming in Thursdays through Tuesdays either. Then I go, oh, well, I wonder which one's more important to me. I mean, honestly, but this was a cool situation because a guy goes, you don't have to. You don't have to do it if you don't want to. Now, what's upsetting to a lot of people is they say, well, they shouldn't be able to do that. He shouldn't be able to tell them that they don't have or that they have a choice. Is that the deal? Yeah. That they don't have to do their job. Yeah. LGBT advocacy project. This is Robert Gleason. I don't know what that means. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender. Got it. LGBT. I think LGBT is easier to say personally.
It is hard to put all the other words together. That's why I prefer ABC instead of the American Broadcast Corporation. I wish we could just say CC all the time instead of Clear Channel. It just takes an hour and a half to get it out. Here's Robert Gleason, not Jackie Gleason. Robert Gleason, cut 59. We don't believe that public employees should be given the choice of which laws they will or will not enforce. That's a good point. Yeah. I mean, I can understand that. Yeah. And then, I mean, you know, like I totally agree with that. But then at the same time, if you are a homosexual couple, do you really want someone who doesn't support what you're doing to perform your ceremony? You know, I'd rather have one of the employees that did support what I was doing to perform my ceremony. I don't know. I'm sitting here and I'm going, so let's say that I have just got.
the right to wear a certain pair of shoes. Okay. Let's say, I mean, for instance, let's say I got, I just, I just was given the right to wear a certain pair of shoes. Like, let's say that my shoes to some were offensive, but to me, they're fine. Like, let's say that my shoes look like a tongue or something. And I think they're super cool. And I like walking into place because I got these tongue shoes and I think they're real, I think they're real cool. Okay. Tongue shoes are awesome. But some people are offended by it. Okay, well, I've just been given the right to be able to wear my tongue shoes wherever I want to, right? Totally. It's not Tongue Shoe Tuesday they call it, and it's Tongue Shoe Tuesday. Nice. Now, let's say, let's say that Shauna says to every employee here at the building, if you're offended by this tongue shoe that he's wearing, you don't have to work that day. Okay, let's say that that happened. This is what I think is a little odd. What do I care? Tongue shoe guy. What do I care? What she decided. What do I care? Because the tongue shoes don't affect her.
In any way. No, no, no. I'm so lost. This is a tough analogy. Why can't she accept the tongue shoes? Okay. I quit this bitch. She doesn't have to wear the tongue shoes. She just has to accept the tongue shoes. Let's say that some people feel that the tongue shoes that I'm wearing are offensive to them. Okay. So our boss says, oh, those of you that find that offensive, you don't have to work on the day that he's going to wear those shoes. Because Tuesdays is tongue shoes Tuesdays. You don't have to work on that day. See, that'd be jacked. Okay, now I'm saying, if I'm the guy that gets to wear the shoes, I'm like, well, what do I care? People, you know. You don't. Because I'm still going to, yeah, I wouldn't care. That's not the issue, though. Right. I thought that is the issue. No, the people that are performing the ceremony, they don't care. Or they don't want to perform the ceremony or whatever. It's not, that's not the issue. The issue is, like, the people that are upset are the people who are. want the homosexual community as the people that are upset. Because they're saying this is the law and you're now telling people that they can pick and choose what laws they want to abide by and not? They are the ones that are upset. The homosexual community is the ones that... The tongue shoe... Guy is the homosexual community in my analogy. The guy wearing the tongue shoes is the homosexual community. No, they're co-workers in your analogy. No, no, no.
Then you're right. I really did make an awful analogy. Like the worst analogy. But it was fun to listen to. Let's just do it like it normally is. Okay, so I'm gay. I just got the right to get married. And there are people here whose job it is to marry me. Okay? Shauna says, those of you that it's against your religious beliefs, you don't have to do it. I know this. I know that there's going to be people like Skye that don't have a problem marrying me. She's still available. I'd be happy to marry you and your boyfriend. She'd be happy to marry me and my boyfriend, my boyfriend. Your boyfriend. So I'm kind of going, well, what do I care? You care because it's still discrimination. It's still like, what do you mean? You can't do your job because I'm... a little different. That's what I'm saying. That's why you care. You want it to be equal ground everywhere. It's like when African Americans were allowed to go and get their hair cut now at places and... Well, hang on. Well, they've always, I think, been... It'd be as if they made that same rule for blacks. If you don't want to marry a black person... Right. You can't. There it is. Or an interracial couple. An interracial couple. Exactly. Yeah. Okay. And they would be mad. The only difference, the only difference I guess I can draw...
Hold up, wait a minute. The only difference I think I could draw between the African-American analogy and the gay analogy is that African-Americans was always a social issue. It wasn't a religious issue. And so I think that it's a... Yeah, but I think the homosexuals think of it the same way. It's a social issue. It's a civil rights issue. You know, that whole thing. Okay. It's different for everybody. It's tricky. Let's stick with tongue shoes. I'd like to get a pair. Would you guys like to see my tongue? I'm going home. Let me lick you with these suckers. He's like, can I help you? Help me do what? Remember to brush and floss? What can you help me do? He's like, oh no, I thought you needed some directions. If I need directions, I'm not asking a man with one tooth. I'm asking a man with one leg. Because he definitely knows the easiest way to get there. Am I right? Oh, yeah. If there's a shortcut, that one-legged guy knows where it is. You won't be hopping fences or climbing ladders. He'll get you right there. Mikey. Great show, everybody. Great show. That's not a bad ride out here this morning. We've got a few more brake lights, although developing down the coastline on South 5, slow out of Encinitas, now approaching Santa Fe Drive. I'll let you go past Manchester. The South 15 getting tighter out of Escondido as well off the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. And then the usual reduced speeds again as you wind your way through Rancho Bernardo. Westbound 52 looking pretty nice at a Santee. Just a bit of a delay toward the top of the summit here as you head in toward Santo Road. The West 8 is clear. The 94 King Freeway good to go in the downtown. Both the 5 and the 805 northbound are looking pretty fine out of the South Bay as well. 805 punching up just a bit at El Cajon Boulevard. And eastbound 8, way out past Willow's Road, actually past east of Viejas Casino. There's a big rig that went over the side of the freeway. They're trying to get out of the way here. I'm trying to get back up on the freeway. So the two right lanes are blocked off here. Watch for those cones and slow for the cones out. I'm McLaurin's on Rock 105.3. Is this Rebecca? Yes, it is. I understand that you went to sleep train. Yes, I did. What happened?
Well, my husband and I went back last May. We just got married, so we bought our new mattress. We got a really good deal on it. They threw in free sheets and pillows because we said we heard about it through you. And they also gave us the free mattress protector, so it was really cool. And I referred my mom to go there because she is buying a bed for my grandmother just this last week. And she went to the Curti Mesa store. And they actually beat the price on a Costco mattress. The Sleep Train was selling it for, I think, around $1,000. And then the Costco price was like $500-something. So they beat that, which is awesome. They just won Best Mattress Store. And there's a reason for it. They're really good. The prices are great. And if you're getting one of these good name brand mattresses, or no matter what you're looking for, they're great. How is that mattress in terms of being comfortable? Awesome. I can't get out of bed in the morning. It's really comfortable. That is good stuff. Thank you. You got it. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. Now back to the Mikey Show with Mikey. I love going to the movies and I love watching the Food Network. Eddie. But I am. Heart of Earth. Sky. Hey, I smoked a lot of pot for many years. Yeah? Sean. I almost shot someone in the face one time. Boss and Rob. I'm kind of the transient of the bunch. And Eddie. It's 645.
Steven Tyler has checked into rehab in Pasadena. Jason Taylor may need a new dance partner. The Dolphins say he's not going to be part of the team. Are you kidding me? So this conversation has been so interesting to me. I think Eddie's changed my mind. Really? Yeah, I think so. Okay. Now we're talking about the issue of, and who made this happen, Sky? Well, it was announced by the county assessor slash recorder slash clerk, Greg Smith. And that's the office that issues marriage licenses throughout San Diego County. Here is his.
Explanation. Cut 60. We've heard from a couple. Therefore, we met with them and we gave them a certain time to see if there are any concerns, any religious objections to that. Again, I want to try to strike a balance between the needs of the employees and the needs of the couples and dignity and respect for all. Now, Eddie's saying, well, it's kind of by definition, it's discrimination. Yeah, I mean, you can't pick and choose who you, you know, like we were saying, we're using the analogy of a bus driver. You can't pick and choose who rides your bus. Like, if I disagree with a lesbian couple coming on my bus, I can't go, get off my bus. You can't ride my bus. It's not your right. You have to do your job. And if you don't want that lesbian couple riding on your bus, you should quit your job. Now, wait a minute, though. It kind of seems to me it's not the discretion of the employer. Right? Because like our employer, Shauna, at her discretion, says if you don't want to participate, even though it's a part of your job and it's in your job description, if you don't want to participate in promoting rock concerts that we do and appearing at those rock concerts, then you don't have to. That's not discrimination, though. Like, that has nothing to do with discrimination. Why?
What are you discriminating against? Rock? I'm discriminating. Rocking hard. I'm discriminating against rocking hard and partying on. No, I'm discriminating against. I'm discriminating against. Fun. Tongue shoes. Yeah, I have to think about it. No, I mean, there's a big difference there. When it comes to people and their rights and stuff like that, you can't pick and choose what you decide to do. If you do, then you should. You have to get another job. Yeah. It's not right. If your job is to marry people and the state of California says it's now legal for homosexuals to marry, well, that is now part of your job. Yeah, you got to do something else if you don't like it. I think that that's the deal. I guess where my issue was, was like, and I do this a lot. I have this phrase a lot. These two words ring in my head a lot. Who cares? You know, I have that happen a lot.
You know, even when it's something that is in my court, you know, I go, what if it's something that is like Christians are going, you can't do this and blah, blah, blah. I many times will say to the Christians, who cares? What do you care? You know, so that and that's kind of my immediate thing. But I think Eddie has a point. Yeah, I mean, I could see where they would care. You know, I mean, it is, you know, that's their thing and that's their right. and it's now officially a law on the books, I would care. I would be like, don't, dude. You don't want to marry me? Then you should get out of here. You marry me right now? Marry me, please, Brady. I want you to be the person. I want you, hater of me, to be the person to join us together in matrimony. In loving matrimony. Yes, in loving matrimony. I want to take a photograph of the three of us together to remember this beautiful day. 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. P1 left. It's actually P1 elf. P1 elf. Very close. Ah, yes. Rob was very close. I don't think it was Rob. I'm looking up there, and I think the one I thought was an L. Go ahead, elf. Anyway, like you guys were saying, I really don't see what the big deal is. Like you were saying, who cares?
I mean, if we already have the separation between church and state, you know, I remember growing up as a kid and everyone did the Pledge of Allegiance. Now kids can't even do that because they mention God in it. So if God is not a part of it and if God is the main reason, you know, their religion is the main reason that they're having an issue with it, why is it even an issue at that point? Issue. Issue. It seems like he's making, like, both points. Like, he's talking on both sides of it. Yeah, dude, if you worked for the county and your job was to marry somebody and you don't like Jewish people, you can't be like, oh, I'm not going to marry you because you're a Jew. You can't do that. All right, well, how about people in the military? I mean... How about them? We like them. Kill is basically, you know, almost in every religion. So should we tell the soldiers that, oh, yeah, go over there, but you don't have to shoot anybody if you don't want to? I don't understand your argument. Tongue shoes. You're very tongue shoe. You're very tongue shoe. What do you guys think about tongue shoes? I'm a fan. I'm a fan. I will marry you. P1 Sarah. Let's see. P1 Sarah, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead, Sarah. I was brought up in the church and I don't think it's a problem at all to not marry me. I mean, I understand your views and I...
I respect them just as much as I expect you to respect my decisions. So I don't see a problem with it at all. If a person sits out marrying you? Yeah, if they don't want to marry gay people, I think that's their decision. But their job is to marry people. Their job is to marry you as a gay lady. Yeah, I understand that, but I just think it's... problem with it. I was brought up in the church. I understand what their opinion is and why their opinion is that way. What if they didn't want to marry you based on your gender or based on your race? Based on your tongue shoes. We'll talk you into being upset about it. You just can't pit. You just hang on a second. We'll be your advocate. I know you're not mad, but we'll get you there. What if you went into McDonald's and they say, I don't want to serve you because you are a woman? Yeah, would you eat your dog? Would you eat your cat? Coleslaw is murder. Thank you. I don't know. I just think that 80% of the country is Christian or something like that. You know what I mean? Total fake stat. I don't know that that's a fake stat. I heard it was 149%. There's a lot of liberal people, but you know what I mean? There's a lot of people that were brought up Christians, and that's just their view. That's their opinion, and I have my own opinion. So I respect their decision just as much as.
I hope they would respect mine. I don't respect people. I fight for the gays. Yeah, I don't respect people. Thank you very much. Appreciate the phone call. P1 Cielo. I hope I'm getting this name right. You guys tell me. C-I-E-L-O. Cielo? Cielo? Cielo. Cielo. Cielo. Well said. Hi. Hi. My thing is that when these people applied for that position, To marry a man and a woman, that was their job description, to marry a man and a woman. I don't know about that. Well, the law has changed, and so if they're not cool with that, they should quit. And maybe when they voted against a marriage between a man and a woman, and that was what went down, that's what the people voted for, and now the Superior Court went and changed it on them. Yeah, but if your job description changed and you fundamentally disagreed with it...
I mean, you can't just say, well, sorry, Mr. Boss, that you changed my job description. You would have to either quit or suck it up and do what your boss said. Well, I've had somebody try to make me do something that was not in my job description. I quit and I collected unemployment for it. But it is in your job description. Well, see, you quit. There it is. Yeah, to marry a man and a woman. Not anymore. That's what I applied for. Now, wait a second. Now, do you see, Cielo, what Sky is saying? You absolutely signed up to marry a man and a woman, unfortunately. Or fortunately. Or fortunately, depending on what way you look at it. Unfortunately for you, the law changed. And so now you are going to have to marry gay people. And if you know likey, you can take your bikey and, you know, motorcycle. Well said. Sounds like she did, though. It sounds like she did. She was like, hey, I don't like this. I'm out. And then she got unemployment. That's all right. I'm sure you'll get another job. I mean, I have a lot of gay friends, and I love them dearly, but I just don't believe in this, and I would probably just quit my job. Yeah. That's fine. That's your right. That's your prerogative is what it is. If Shauna said to me, and I actually, I told, this was an actual conversation. We had this conversation about,
I won't say which one, but we had just done this concert and I had this real bad feeling when I was there. I just didn't, I wasn't comfortable. And to compound it, somebody threw a beer on stage and it went in my mouth. That was the worst. It was awful. And so it was like a, it was a cup of beer, like a big, you know, the big plastic cups. And somebody threw it up there and the cup didn't hit me, but it was like this whole wave of beer. on me and in my mouth. Sprayed all over you. It wouldn't spray, man. It was like a, it was like a tidal wave, tidal wave right in my mouth. And, uh, I said to Shauna afterwards, I said, you know, I don't know that the, the rock shows are really my deal anymore. And she was really upset. She was really mad. And she said, so are you saying that you're not going to do the rock shows anymore? And I said, uh, yes.
And she goes, well, you know what? We're going to have to get your agent and Bob, who is our big boss, in on this because this may not work out. And I was like, it may not. And I was ready if I needed to. And I love my friends on the show and everything, but I have to stand by my principles before anything else. But in that situation, man, I think Sky and Eddie are right, man. You got to figure it out for yourself. Like, hey, it's the job description now. Maybe it wasn't the job description when you started, but it is now. So if you know likey, get on your bikey and motor psyche. Makes perfect sense, right? Motor psyche. Our text number, 35253. What is this? Who is this? Boston Rob, who's this band? Swayze. Oh, Patrick Swayze, I guess, as in you. He's like the wind. Good for him. Do you know what we're going to be doing here in about ten minutes? Something called Tough Love with Eddie. It's just a healing experience. That's right. That's coming up. But next, if you would like to play something called Tondeaf Karaoke. Hey!
I want you to call us right now. 5701053, our very own American Idol superstar, Ashley. I should have won it, Mike. That's right. She is going to be singing these songs, and you're going to be trying to tell us, well, what is she singing? It came down to her and David Cook, right? It came down to her and David Cook. And by 12 million votes, David Cook won. Dang it. We'll be back and do that next. Mikey Show. It's all gay. All the way. The Mikey Show is on. Rock. Thank you. Oh yeah, I was telling my husband about this song a couple weeks ago. I'm like, have you heard no handlebars? I'm proud to be an American. Me and my friend saw a platypus. Me and my friend made a comic book. And guess how long it took? I can't do anything that I want. Cause look, I can keep rhythm with no metronome. No metronome. No metronome. American Airlines announced yesterday that they're going to start charging you to check your bag. What? That's not cool. NBA playoffs last night said the Lakers win game one of the conference finals over San Antonio. Kobe Bryant says they were a little sluggish in the first half. I think we made some adjustments. I think we picked up our energy in the first half. We were a little rusty, a little sluggish, and a little tentative. The second half wasn't there. Kobe Bryant rides up on my handlebars. On my handlebars. On my handlebars. He got two assists on my handlebars. On my handlebars.
Look at all the boards on my handlebars. Mikey Cielo is the Spanish word for heaven, you coconut. What's the matter with you? There's only 30 seconds left, so should I play it out? Yes. Let's do it. What is that? This preacher did talk about the Holocaust while he married Sean. Actually, exactly. What? Yes. The Holocaust. He didn't just talk about a concentration camp. He talked about... Auschwitz during Sean's weddings. He talked about ovens. You had to be there. You had to be there to get the context. It was taken out of context. We were there. We were all sitting on pillows. Eating raisin rice. It was out of context. What? This is truth. Date couscous. That's right. We were all eating. That sounds so good. We were all eating dates. It was good. It was delicious. With our hands. Sitting on pillows. With our handlebars. Waiting for blue cake.
Oh, goodness. Sean hated the cake. He was really upset at the cake. I really hated that cake. Yeah. It looked like a cool mosque or whatever. It was like a, yeah, it was like a mosque. Was it? It was like a mosque. I think it was. A dome. And then the monkey got into it. Remember there was a monkey at Sean's wedding? There was a monkey greeter. Was he the monkey bear? No, it was a real monkey. He had on a little hat and a purple velvet vest. That's so cute. He had on a fez and a little purple vest. And Sean was wearing a robe made of satin. Look, a lot of people like that monkey, okay? To the wedding, he wore a robe. Yes, he did. A traditional robe. A traditional. It was not a robe. It was garb. It was garb. I think the proper word is garb. Shawnee. Shawnee, what was it called? The Great Santini. It was called The Great Santini. No, it was not. Where was this wedding? You guys were in his home country of Uzbekistan? No, we were not in Uzbekistan. We were on 2nd Street. In a Moroccan restaurant. Mm-hmm. A restaurant? You married it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, a lot of people had a good time, okay? I had a blast. I loved the dancing with the belly dancers. That's not even what we're saying. Yeah. I mean, why you wore a robe to your wedding. And that little punch thing they were serving? Mm-mm. Yeah. Sounds good. Got wasted. No, you didn't. I was dancing with belly dancers. There was no alcohol in there. Oh. Let's play. This is how we do this tone deaf karaoke. You call in and you try to tell us what Ashley's singing. Now, I know that sounds like it's an easy task, but it is not an easy task. You want to hear her sing Eminem? Oh, no. I said no.
How did they not bring you back last night? Right? I know it. Jerks. 570-1053 is the phone number. P1 Matt is on the line. Oh, hey, Matt. Matt. Hi, Matt. Hey, how you doing? I'm good. How are you? Not too bad, thanks. Do you know how to play tone deaf karaoke? I know how to play tone deaf karaoke, yeah. Okay, cool. What's the prize, Eddie? Ooh, we got Iron Maiden tickets. How about that? Now, here's what we're going to do. Hey, bro. Hey. I'm going to play you a clip, and you listen to the entire clip. And then when it's over, you tell me either title or artist, and you win. Is that cool? That's cool. Here we go.
He can be beat. Oh, my gosh. He's got everything I desire. Is he plugging your nose? There you go. Okay, let's see. P1, Matt. Wow. Can you give me a title or artist to win? I'm going to shoot with Britney Spears. Oh. No. Don't know that anybody's going to get it. That was Bow Wow Wow. That's what she was singing. And there it is. P1 Giants fan. It's not easy. How you doing, man? I'm doing good. How are you? Good, man. Now, I'm going to play you a clip here. It's about 15 seconds in length or so. Tough batch today, Mike. It's a little bit of a tough batch. Go ahead and preface the rest of the game with that. And then, after the clip is done, I just need title or artist to win. Eddie, are you...
Are you placating Ashley when you say that? I liked the last one. You're saying you felt it was a good interpretation of the song. I got it right away. There is no sarcasm in your voice right now. Zero. All right. Ash? Yeah. He's on your side. Are you ready? This one's for you. I'm ready. Are you ready, Giants fan? Here we go. Eddie. That rest my case. Okay. All right. I just wanted to know for sure. He did not say one word in that. Not a single word. Not a single word. Not English, anyway. She has a different kind of phrasing. Yes. Holy. Giants fan. Different tone. I think I got it. I got it, like, right at the end. I think it's live. You are correct. It was live. It was live. Yeah, I got it at the very end. I never got it. You didn't? Never. I didn't either. Really? I didn't. I didn't. This song is the jam. It really is. But how can we sing it like that? That's how I sing, Eddie. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Why didn't you sing it in English, though?
Because Cantonese is really pretty. Apparently. That's a good song, huh? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That's really good. Hang on a second. Hang on a second, Chanson. Where did they go? That was a good band. A little bald guy. Yeah. Kowalczyk, you know? What? Ed Kowalczyk? It's Kowalczyk. Ed Kowalczyk. Yes. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk. Kow I'm a fence director for San Diego Unified. You are a fence director for San Diego... A what? E-rector. An E-rector for San Diego Unified. Yes, E-rector. He erects fence. Oh, you put fences up? Yes. Yes, sir. I got you. Fancy title. How far down you got to dig those suckers to put them in there? We got from two to five feet. I had to build a fence with my dad when I was hungover when I was about 16. Oh, Mike. Yeah, this is punishment. He said, well, the plan was you're going to help me build the fence, and the plan still is that you're going to help me build the fence. Now, did you get a shovel or a posthole digger? Posthole digger. You never drank again. I never drank again. He taught me a great lesson. But Mike ended up in rehab. Without him doing that, I never would have not drank again. Wait. So thank you, Dad, for me not ever drinking again. P1E, man, I'm going to play you a clip. When it's done, you give me title artist, you win. You ready? Yes, sir.
Here we go. Yes. Skye, stop. You stop dancing. You're not having that much fun, Skye. That's not real fun. That's a jam. You knock it off. You knock it off. You want E-Man. All I need is a title or an artist to win. I really don't know if I'm going to get part. Wow. Dude. Now that was an easy one. That is incorrect. That is incorrect. Luckily for Sky, I will play it one more time. Here we go. P1 Arise. Are you there? Yes. All right, Arise. I don't want you to tell me what it was because I'm going to play you the clip again. When it's all done, just give me the name of the song or the person singing it and you win. Here we go. Okay. P1 Arise. Title or artist to win, please.
Oh, man, this is hard. With Madonna. Oh, dude. I mean, come on. That's Billy Joe. Come on, dude. Yeah. Can't you see Hildy running out with a fake bra? It's Kip and Hildy. All right, I'm having fun. I want to do one more. Is it Nina? Yes, be one Nina. Okay, it's not Nina in your 99 Luftwaffe. Balloons. Nina. Okay, sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. All right, Nina, are you ready? Yes, I am. Title or artist to win. All that was thinking of falling in love. And what does he say? Keep it down. Oh, you suck. You're a jerk. This is Sean Batch today. Yeah. Can you give me a title or artist on that, Nina?
Oh, my God. No, I cannot. It was at sea, right? I don't blame you. It was till Tuesday. No, Mike. Voices carry. Oh, I love this. Some good stuff right there, man. Is that not the jam or what? That is the jam. 35253 is our text number. Or, if you'd like, you could call us. at 570-1053. Coming up next, we're doing something called Tough Love with Eddie. I hope you enjoy. A playoff preview? Hardly. It was two mathematically eliminated teams phoning it in. But not organist Harvey Steiner, for he was fearless, cunning, and about to play da-da-da-da-da-da for the 794th time. His digits in need of a breather, he called timeout and watched the game on TV in the unused owner's suite, playing pre-recorded da-da-da-da-da-da for the entire game. Even during halftime, the perfect plan had not been playing when number 23 fractured his shoulder and pelvis. Sure, Harvey was canned and played seedy hotel lounges for the rest of his years. But the sentiment wasn't lost on us at Corona. Proving again that when you need to relax, grab a nice cold Corona, a lime, and take a break from playing, well, anything. Especially that.

This started with an accident that was on the right-hand shoulder right at the 163. Merge here as you come up in towards Miramar after your Santa. But brake lights are still getting you pretty good here from Friars Road all the way up to that 163 connector on the 15. We've got northbound 805. Not too bad out of the South Bay. Some reduced speeds up to National City again through North Park. And now you're seeing some stuff develop out of Kearney Mesa heading up over to 52. Traveling westbound on the 94 King Freeway here. That's a little slow here.
As you come in out of Lemon Grove, pretty much from Kelton to the College Grove Way to the 805. Westbound 52 getting busier now out of Santee off the 125 all the way to the top of the summit in past Santo Road. Heading south to the 15, coming out of Escondido, a little so from Auto Parkway down the Via Rancho Parkway. And then you've got the usual stuff again, kind of off and on through Rancho Bernardo. This coaster ride staying pretty tough, though, on the southbound side of the 5, crawling out of La Costa now into Solana Beach. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. It would have to say, no, no, thank you. No, I think you're getting the inflection wrong. It's no, thank you. I got you. I would say, please, please, no, thank you. I appreciate that, Sky. Here is the way that tough love with Eddie works. You see, our friend Eddie. cares deeply for the community. More than you'll ever know. That's the reason he shows up to that makeup trailer every morning at 2 o'clock in the morning to be ready for when it's lights, camera, action. And what you do is you go to the website, you write Eddie an email, and he answers you. And he doesn't tell you what you want to hear. No. He gives you the real deal.
There ain't no messing around. There ain't no messing around. No placation. No placation. Definitely not. He shoots from the hip. That's Sky's middle name. That's right. Oh, it's true. Sky Placation Nation. Yes, that is our name. Yes, that is my full birthday. Our first letter reads, Dear Eddie, I really need your wise advice. I work in a pretty fancy restaurant here in town. I work in the kitchen, and I'm trying to become a chef. I'm just a line cook right now, but someday I will become a famous chef. Anyway, my problem is the head chef I work with. This guy watches too much Gordon Ramsay or something, and all he does is yell at us. Like he screams at me yesterday for what he says was raw chicken I sent out, but I know it was cooked. How can I get this guy to lay off and stop yelling at me all the time?
Signed P1 Sticks from Encinitas. Eddie? Dear Hell's Bitchin'. Oh, is the mean old chef yelling at you again? You want mommy to send a note pinned on your chest that says no yelling at my boy? Buck up, Nimrod. If you are sending out chicken that is still clucking, guess what, pal? You deserve to get yelled at. Donkey. You donkey. I'd rather not end up in a hospital after dining at your fine establishment because your little feelings get hurt every time Gordon calls you a donkey. You should make you eat it. Here is my advice. One, learn how to cook. Stop sending out food that will give me Mexican water diarrhea for a week. You know what that is, right, guys? We all learned. Numero dos.
Quit crying like Zeth after an emotional episode of One Tree Hill. Buck up, sweetie. That's sad. Seriously, buck up, sweetie, or go work at Kixie where they accept your kind. Obviously, you didn't. It was still clucking when it was leaving. I think he helped. I don't think so. He did. Good advice, Mike. Our next letter reads. Okay. Dear Eddie. I want your take on this because out of everyone, I think you'll understand where I'm coming from on this. I'm not sure if I made a mistake or if it was a good thing that just happened. I was dating this girl named Stacy for three months and we just broke up. It was for a few reasons. She was crazy jealous, but also she would snoop through my stuff and I think she read a couple of emails, but I couldn't prove it.
She blamed everything on her Asian upbringing. Didn't matter what she did, she would always tell me that I didn't understand because I didn't grow up Asian, and that's just the way it is in Asian culture. The last time I saw her, she got so mad at me for not liking some Asian noodle thing she made, she started crying and didn't talk to me the rest of the night until I just left. Do you think that I'm overreacting? Or do you think I made the right decision? Signed, P1 Marty and Mission Hills. Eddie? Dear small rice to pay, I say consider yourself very rocky. It's a well-known fact that guys have been through this same situation and end up in one of two places. Street racing in Mira Mesa or getting the number four at Mr. Chow's. I can't remember which one happened, but it's one of those two, though, for sure. All right. In fact, Skye, it's an ancient Chinese secret that these wounds cut deeper than against you through rice paper. That is right. I've actually heard. I've actually heard that. I think that rung a bell. Here's the problem, you guys, is you break up with this girl at lunch, and you just want to break up with her an hour later.
Look, I don't think I can be of any more assistance than I already have. Truth is that, like most women, she sounds sweet and sour. Eddie. You're supposed to be healthy. It was an obvious, you know. Overall, you're much foo young to be pot tied down anyway. I say reeve while you can. That one got me. That may have been the worst one ever. Our last letter reads. That was good advice. That was really good advice, Eddie. I hope that that person heeds your advice and really thinks about it today and goes, you know, Eddie gave me some really good advice on this one. There was really no advice at all. Yeah, I think that was good.
He called her sweet and sour and said to break up with her once and then again. You didn't give it enough pause. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Pause, pause. Sour. Yes, that is. That's what he said, Skye. Eat, eat, sour. As opposed to sweet and sour. Oh, and that's good advice. Yes. That's good comedy. Thank you. Our next letter reads. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm in the zone now. Next letter reads, Hey, Eddie, I'm a 35-year-old bachelor, not even a girlfriend, and I live at home. About a month ago, I noticed when I got up in the morning, there would be a lot of hair left on my pillow. And when I shampoo my hair, I would go to rinse off my hands and they would be full of hair. I hate to say it, but it's going fast. I told my mom and the first thing she did was to take a really deep breath and slowly let it out. Then she says the first thing in the morning, I have to go to Long's and get some Rogaine and start using it.
Then she says she's going to make an appointment for me with a dermatologist to talk about surgical options. Eddie, is it over for me? Am I going to be able to find someone even though I'm going bald? What can I do to keep my hair? Signed, P1 Hairball from Temecula. Wow. Eddie? Dear Baldy Locks and the Three Hairs. Let that one marinate for a couple of seconds. That one is wow. Wow. Well, it's definitely true that men grow old very gracefully. However, being bald takes all the grace out of it and you're left with just old. When you're in the shower and you look down at your hands, don't think of those as strands of hair as hair. Think of them as what they represent. They represent all the women you will never date. No, yes, they do. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding, guys. I'm just kidding. They don't represent that at all. All right. Each one represents another nail in your coffin. Okay, that's worse. That's really worse. It's worse than the first thing you said. Normally, at this point, I'd make a crack about one foot in the grave and all that stuff. But the truth is, you've got both feet and both hands in the grave. That's pretty harsh.
I would say, yeah. Let's be honest, your head is about three inches away from that little coffin pillow. Definitely harsh. Yeah. Ordinarily, if someone came to me with this kind of problem, I'd probably pat them on the back and just say, nice of knowing you. I recently published an article in the New England Journal of Medicine. No, you didn't. I did. I did. Did he really? He's a doctor. I forgot about that. It's called the treatment of and laughing at a balding male. Okay. So here's my simple solution. What you got to do is grow one of them handlebar mustaches. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And not a small one like the piano player in a Western movie. I'm talking about like a strong man in a traveling circus kind. You know what I mean? It's giant. Now, once you've grown that mustache, then dye it bright. purple, okay? That way when people meet you, the last thing they're going to notice is your balding head. And you're welcome. That is not legitimate advice. And you're welcome. I love it. That was very good advice. I mean, I never would have thought of that. There she is. Can you hear it coming up Carroll Canyon Road? It's the help train.
It's the sound of healing. Hey, you're welcome, San Diego. Mikey, Mikey. Rock 105.3. Sir, do you know why I pulled you over? Oh, I have a pretty good idea. It's my haircut. Beg your pardon? Well, I hear that often, that I am right. And this is just another example of how I am right. Skye says it the most to you. Yeah, she does, always. That's true. Yeah. Opposite. In fact, I think we can put Sean. Sean, are you there? He actually has a clip of Skye. Sean has a clip of Skye actually telling Eddie. Skye telling me that I am right. Yeah. Why is this necessary right now? Because you say it all the time. It was about. To the point of where Sean. Yes, Eddie, you are right. Thank you very much. Hey. There it is. As long as it works, I feel like there's no reason to replace it. If we're talking about clothes, I still wear a bunch of stuff I got in like third grade. Not that far back. The truth is I haven't grown since then. Mikey's show continues.
1053. Oops, dude. I love it. It is 7.55. Tori Spelling has signed on to make a cameo in the first episode of the upcoming 90210 spinoff. It was an ugly night last night for the Padres as Chris Young got smacked in the face with a line drive. Broke his nose. Good thing that the guy that hit the ball doesn't have very much power. That's Albert Pujols, Mike. That's got to be... Eventually, a random debate. Take a line drive in the face from Albert Pujols. No, thank you. Or drop a bowling ball on your foot. Foot. Bowling ball. You would take the bowling ball? In a second. Really? In a second. Is there anything that I could say dropped on your foot? No. No. Really? Yeah, I would take a nail in my foot. I was just thinking that. Maybe not a nail through the foot. I would. I don't know. Baseball bat to the knee or Albert Pujols to the face?
See, the face is so sensitivo. It is very sensitive. My face is perfect, so I don't want to. So somebody said to me something yesterday, and I said, oh, we're talking about that. I'll bring it up. Love at first sight. Oh, here we go. Here we go. Yeah, here we go. It doesn't exist. Oh, you. Oh, no. Okay. Oh, Ashley's so mad right now. I'm nervous. Oh, dude, she's burning a hole in you. Let me explain. How could it not exist if I had love at first sight? No, you didn't. Then how did it not exist? I'll tell you. I will explain it to you. Good luck. I agree with you, by the way.
Thank you. Ashley. No. No. You agree with me or Ash? I agree with you. Thank you. Yes. It is impossible to be in love with somebody at first sight. You can look at them and go, I'm attracted to you. I am lustful towards you. I want to get to know you. But without a conversation, without knowing the person, you can't fall in love with somebody. the guy who cried at the notebook. Right? I forgot about that. Okay, maybe love at first sight is possible. Maybe it is. I forgot all about that. I don't even know what you're talking about. Remember that it was on the airwaves of our show. You cried? No, there was allergies that day, I remember. I don't think so, man. Eddie had hay fever. Yes. Well, just to further illustrate what Eddie's saying, I believe that when we meet someone, we are responding to something We're responding to something on a few different levels. One level is a chemistry level. And what I mean by that is that whether or not you recognize it or not, you are actually, and I know that this is going to sound kind of strange, but it's the truth. You're actually reacting to chemical pheromones, what they actually smell like. And I know that that's odd, but you're actually reacting a little bit to that. Don't ruin it, Eddie. What did I do?
You are reacting to a very, very unspoken language that's happening between the two of you. And the language is now let me give you one example. You can put me in a room with 100 women. I will find the one that's looking for an alcoholic immediately. Now, she didn't even know she's looking for an alcoholic because. She's never made a conscious decision to look for an alcoholic. It's what she was raised around, though. Or perhaps she was raised around a guy that has a tendency to... Tongue shoes. Wear tongue shoes. Listen to feminine music. Listen to feminine music. I think Sky's... Never mind. I thought we were just describing him. Works the same way for guys. Guys, we do the same thing. First of all, we are attracted first with the eyes. Okay. First of the eyes. Then after that, we are speaking a very unspoken language. And sometimes this feeling can be extraordinarily intense. So intense, in fact, that when we describe it later and we mix in about two buckets full of emotion.
we'll describe it as love at first sight. That's not even what I'm talking about, though, at all. So what you mean to say, Ash, is that when you met the person you're talking about, you're saying that when you met him, you walked out of that date, and you said, you said, I actually, I'm truly in love. You gotta understand, alright? I... have always been a believer of love at first sight, but never in a million years thought it would happen to me. Ever. Well, congratulations. It hasn't. Can I just let you ramble on about tongue shoes or whatever the heck you're saying? I've never believed in it. I've had plenty of boyfriends and dated and had guys hit on me and I've hit on guys and I'm attracted to them and vice versa. Never has any of this come even remotely close to the second.
that I laid eyes on my boyfriend. Now, the thing is about Mark. Yeah, but isn't it that you're saying that now, now that you know him and you like him and all that stuff? No, Eddie. No, she was in love. But, Mike, I don't remember her coming back from that date going, I love this guy. Because I'm not, because why would I say that? Let me remind you, because I do remember after she met him. Why would I say that? After she met him, I remember. It would jinx it. It was nothing like that at all, Letty. I would never say that. It would jinx it. And I remember for months and months, we had a fight to get it out of her to see if they were even dating. So that is love at first sight, right? That is not true. Months and months and months, we got it. We were exclusive after two weeks. And we got together after a month. So that's really special. And that's what I'm saying. It's love at first sight. I got your back. When did you know? Like the second you saw him or towards the end of that date? That's what love at first sight is. When you look at them. When you look at them, you're in love. Love at first. It's not love at first conversation. It's not love at first. It's love at first sight. Listen, it was a blind date. I knew nothing about this guy. How ironic.
Except for that, my friend really thought that we would work well together. It was a blind date. The second that we met, it was instant, nonstop. Since then, it's been, like, that's it. And I can't describe it. I can't describe it, but he thinks it too. What's your question, Mike? It was love at first sight. Straight up. My question is, why hasn't she answered Eddie's question, which was the best question I ever heard in my life. What question? When Eddie goes, dude, we talked to you right after you went out with this guy. He was super cool. Why would I tell you it's love at first sight when this is how you guys react? I would have been shocked. How would we ruin that? I either would have, because how many times in the past have I been hurt by a guy? So if I feel like it's love at first sight, I hadn't talked to him about it yet. But every guy you meet, you always say, you said the same thing. met Mark and you came back, you said the same thing as when you met Nick, as when you met Serio. You said, I really liked this guy. He was really cool. He was awesome. It wasn't until later that you started going, when you went, you know what? This guy is different. He's dynamite. He's dynamite. He became dynamite. TNT. So because Serio and Nick were the worst things that ever happened to me.
up their names. Let's clear that up right now. Just so you know, we're talking directly to you. Okay. That's why I was scared to even begin to describe this feeling I had for Mark, which I have never felt in my life, which was instantaneous, immediate attraction. Eddie, I was about to go into this story about the very first time, the very first time that, uh, I was back in 99. Now, this is not about love. Back in 99, I had a girl that worked on my show for about five minutes. Her name was Melanie. She worked on the show for about five minutes. She left. And I put out an open call that I needed a new girl on my show. Sky came in. Her and I talked on the air. We probably talked on the air. How long did we talk, Sky? It wasn't very long. It was one break. And this was during a show where we played music. It wasn't an all-talk show. So I say a couple minutes. Yeah. Now, I can tell you this. I knew immediately we were really different. There was no doubt about it. We were really different. A little bit. But I could tell you this. I knew from the second her and I were ever on the radio, I knew there was a crazy chemistry. It was very sexual. It was not. It wasn't. It wasn't. It was not. Just everyone listening. It was not.
It wasn't. Was it hated for sight? It was hated for sight. But I knew that there was something very, very special with Sky. That, I will even say this, that up until that point in my career, and I'm going to say something even different than Ash, up at that point in my career, I had actually worked with some people who I thought I had a pretty good chemistry with. It wasn't like... Royce. Yeah, of course. Yes, Royce. That's what I'm saying. It didn't even come close, though, to this feeling that I had working with Sky. That is called chemistry. And when it's intense, it's intense. Yeah. When I met Debra, my wife, I knew immediately there was something I liked about her. Like, I met her. I thought she was out of my league. I noticed that she was wearing goofy shoes. And, like, I noticed all these things about her. But I was like. There's no chance. But then when I found out she liked me back, I was great. And so I don't consider that love at first sight. I consider that an attraction, me wanting to get to know her. We had good chemistry. Everything worked out really well with her. But it wasn't love at first sight. I fell in love with her eventually. That's not what happened. Ashley, you used the word love with everybody. Right.
That's a thing. You kind of use it. You can't just be throwing that sucker around like a boomerang, man. Well, I know. And that's the thing is like there's a lot of old habits that I'm having to break now that I'm in like an actual real relationship with someone that I actually really love. And one is throwing the love word around to people that maybe it isn't appropriate that I say it to you. One is not being like. such a hugger and, like, friendly. Like, I need to be more respectful of, like, the fact that I am in a relationship. Oh, wow. Like, I'm learning all these things, and so I agree with you, and I'm actually going to stop, like, throwing that word around all willy-nilly because it's taking away from the fact that I do love my boyfriend. Now, Ashley believes in love at first sight. Absolutely, I do. What about you? 570-1053? Absolutely. It happened to me. I never thought it could. It happened to me. 35253. Sky? Hello? Do you believe... Hey, Sky! Do you believe in love at first sight? I have never experienced love at first sight. I felt a huge attraction to my husband the first time we met. Lots of butterflies. Lots of Eddie. Inappropriate. That was a hand gesture. I think we all know what you were attracted to. I didn't know that fact about him until... Five minutes or ten minutes into the... Like a month later. Thank you very much.
And that was when you fell in total love. Remember when you said that that one time? That's when you knew. She actually said that. She actually said that. No, I said the first time we made love, I knew because it was a feeling that I knew was very special. Don't make it something icky. It is not icky. It was beautiful and wonderful and very special. She was all choked up that night, you know? Rob! With emotion, I believe. Look at Ashley with her jaw dropped open. I didn't even hear what we were talking about. Ashley's offended. But I'm not ready to say that love at first sight doesn't exist. It doesn't exist, guy. It's a chemistry.
It's silly. Ashley says it happened to her, and I believe her. It's an exaggeration. I don't know English. It's an exaggeration. It is not, though. When you've been, like... You develop feelings of love. It's impossible for the human body to... That's what makes in love so special. Right. Because it doesn't just go like that. Everybody would fall in love. Sure. Now, falling in love with him, we really took our time to, like, say that to each other and stuff. It's been a very... progressive relationship, we've been moving at a very good pace. But I'm telling you, internally, I can't help what I feel. And the second that I went in for the handshake and he went in for the hug and then we laughed nervously and I went in for the hug and he went in for the handshake, that was just it. You were in love. You felt an intense attraction. Dude, and I mean... Now maybe what this means too is that if there were somebody else in the building that had that chemistry with her, she'd be in love with them. Apparently. I'm telling you what, I hope that guys are wearing veils in this building because apparently it could happen. I've never felt that in my life from anyone ever, ever. It's like a whole different galaxy, this feeling that I have for Mark. Oh, boy. By the way, Mark, can you hear me out there? I love you. 570-1053. Oh, yeah. He's a believer. I'm a believer. 570-1053.

into a rehab facility in Pasadena. Wait, who? Steven Tyler. Steven Tyler. Oh. Oh, my. The Titans' Kevin Mawai thinks the rookie contracts are out of control. We just sold out all the floor seats. Ashley's experiencing something called limerence. What the heck is that? It actually has a real name. Contagious? Like an Irish poem? It is a psychological term. It's called limerence. Yeah. And it was part of a scientific study that was done. And basically, the way that limerence works is it was coined in 1977. It's an involuntary cognitive and emotional state where a person feels an intense romantic desire for another person. It is often...
But I didn't even feel like romantic. No, no, no. That's not what being in love is, right? Romantic? It wasn't even like that. Isn't being in love romantic? I don't know. For me, it was more like... Friends. Friends in love. Like we connected on this level that I have never... But not romantically. Well, it wasn't like a sexual thing, if that's what you mean. Well, wait a minute. Who said sexual? Well, when I think romantic, I think like, you know, you look at someone romantically, I think that you look at them in kind of a way that you, in like more of a sexual way. Yeah, romance is not the two. But I want to hear what you guys think. 570-1053. Sean, was it love at first sight? I can't say that it was because, you know, your feelings change a lot over time. And when you are really in love with someone.
They intensify. I would coin a lot of these things as very intense. No doubt about it. I think they're super intense. 5701053, what do you think? Maybe you're on the page with Ashley. It does exist. And there is such a thing as love at first sight. And when you first see the person, you can't explain it, but you're in love. P1 Vicky. Good morning. I actually disagree because, Ashley, like what if you... Like, you're saying that it was love at first sight, but when you saw him, if you shook his hand and then walked away and never had a conversation with him, never sat down and had the date, would you still be in love with him? I mean, it doesn't make sense that it's not love at first sight. Oh, you want me to respond? Yeah, it was a question. Well, yeah, I guess if we, well, we never even really did the handshake because it was...
I did the handshake. We made love. He did the hug and I did the handshake. We made romance. Oh, this whole time I thought you said make love at first sight. I'm sorry, Ashley. But you know what I mean, right? Like you saw him and he walked away. Wait a minute. What did you say? Love at first sight? Oh, forget it. No, that didn't happen. That's rubbish. But yeah, you could make love at first sight. Thank you very much, Vicky. her answer. Go ahead, Ash. Yeah, I guess if you saw someone and then ran away, I wouldn't consider that love at first sight. But by the end of the date, I mean, it was like... So love by the end of the date? Go ahead and interrupt me and talk. No, it's getting to that. Then just say it. It doesn't exist. Love by the end of the date exists then. That's what you were getting at. Love at the end of the date. Sight. Sight. Like, love, ninth thing happening that night site. No, come on. Yes. After three months of kind of dating at first sight, love. P1 Woodworker. Good morning. Good morning. I do believe that love at first sight exists because science has said that love is basically just a chemical reaction. Now, how intense is that chemical reaction when you first see that person? And when it's really intense.
Yes, you have love at first sight. And I experienced that with my wife when we met 22 years ago. Really? We met on February 13th, 1986. We moved in together February 14th, 1986. And we have been together for 22 years. So what you're saying, what he's saying is, is that, you know, let's say that the scenario had played out this way. They saw each other, but kept walking. And he was walking with a friend. He would have to say, dude, hang on. I'm in love. Mikey, you have no idea how close you just came to what actually happened. What happened? She lived next door to us. And we were passing her as she was going to the laundry room. And when we passed, our eyes met. I stopped dead in my tracks. She walked about five more feet. And she turned around. And that's how we met. Yeah, you guys were attracted to each other. Yeah. Is that right, Eddie? Yeah. Attracted to each other. I believe you. How can you love somebody without knowing them? That's so callous and like... No, again, it comes back to... Love is basically just a chemical reaction. It's more than that. Yeah, I think love is a little bit more than a chemical reaction. It's getting to know that person and loving all the things about them. I think that what you just described when you said love is a chemical reaction, I think that the word love should be replaced with attraction. Because then I agree with you.
attraction is a chemical reaction. And love, love, love is a chemical process. I've read a couple of science papers on this simply because of the situation and wondering how the heck this could happen. You discovered it was limerence. Science, the science papers that I have read have said love, not attraction. Love is a chemical reaction. I think falling in love is different from love at first sight. Like, that's a whole separate thing. Listen, first time I saw Al Roker, I knew I loved him, but I didn't. It took a while before I was able to. I hated Skye at first, and then I grew to love her. To love her. A lot. To love her a lot. It is true. I love you now. And then. 5-7-0? No, not really. No, no 5-3. Not even a little. Friends forever. P1 Mike, are you there?
Hello? Mike, are you there? Hey, what's up? I actually had an ex-girlfriend that I fell in love with before I met her. And so when we met her, it was mostly just confirmation that we were in love. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I did that with my wife, but it wasn't love at first sight. I mean, in that situation, it was love before sight. Yeah, but, I mean, you didn't even meet the person. And, like, when we met, we was, like, nervous because you didn't know what the person looked like. And even when you didn't know what the person looked like. I guess it doesn't count because you loved them already. But when I met her... That's love before sight. Love before sight? Yeah, that's love before sight. You loved her before you physically saw her. All right, yeah. And I did too. I mean, I fell in love with my wife before we actually met because all we had done was emailed each other for years. Probably emailed each other for seven years or something before we ever met.
Very casually, we'd email each other every once in a while. And then we actually met. But by the time we met, I was already in love with her. And so I don't know that you could call that love at first sight. Even the falling in love with her was a process. Yeah. All right. Thank you very much. P1 Move Dog. Hey, what's going on, Mikey? What's up, dude? Hey, no, I just wanted to ask Ashley. I understand she's not wanting to say anything to you guys about falling in love at first sight because you guys would give her crap. but I wonder if she mentioned that to any of her girlfriends. The person who was on the double date with me, how I was the whole time and on the drive home, asked any of my friends that I talked to. You were probably excited that you met a cool guy. Ask any of my friends that I talked to. You told them, hey, I just fell in love. Like I said, I was not going to verbally admit it because I didn't want to jinx it. Yeah. So I just told them, like, dude, I just had the most flawless blind date. You told us that, too. Right? But in my heart, I'm like,
I love him so much. So you said to them, so you said that, I love this guy. Maybe you didn't say, I'm in love with him, but you said, I love this guy. To what? To him, after you went on the date. To your friends, you said, I love this guy. No, to my friends, I was like... You have to understand where I'm coming from. I don't know what love at first sight feels like. I've never experienced it before. I never even really thought that it would happen to me ever. I wasn't looking to date anybody. I went on this blind date not thinking anything. This guy blew me out of the water from the second that I locked eyes with him. It's been that way ever since. So when I talked to my friends about it, I told them that. I came in here the next day after I met my wife and told all you guys, I met a great girl. I can't wait to see her again. I'm just thinking like this is this is an unreal emotion and feeling that I'm feeling that just like it was like greater than anything I've ever felt. And that's just that's just me. And you know, if I'm crazy to think that and if it hasn't happened. No, no, no. I think it's happened to most of us that are married.
No, no, no. I'm just saying that it's... I think married people have experienced what you're talking about. I'm saying that it's my opinion that I experience love at first sight. If you disagree with that opinion, then that's fine, but this is what I believe... I believe that with all my heart. Rude dog. I really do. Go ahead. What did you want to say, man? Hello? Yeah, you were trying to interrupt during the thing, and I wanted to get back to you and say, what's up? I was just going to say, you know, if it was really... You know, love at first sight. Why would you have a problem saying it? If it's going to happen and it's going to work. Because I am damaged goods, Roodog. Do you not understand this? That I would not willy-nilly be like, I'm in love. This is it. This is love at first sight. I finally got a winner. Because you know what? I have fell for guys in the past. Like I said, it was totally different. But, like, with the guys you mentioned, Mike, I mean, I thought that I loved them. And it really messed me up. And I'm really, like, I'm damaged goods because of that. So it's hard for me to just willy-nilly say. to anyone that I'm feeling... Shut up, Rob. That I'm feeling this. You know what I mean? And so it freaked me out. So I prayed about it and I kept it inside until I felt comfortable, which is right now, to actually talk about it. And then this is what I'm getting, so why do you think I didn't want to tell anyone? Do you get what I'm saying, Rude Dog? Don't make it like that. I'm just saying, though. That's what she does. That's what she does. Oh, I'm sorry.
Don't apologize to me. I'm not getting all hoffy-puffy. I just want to tell you I understand where you're coming from. I'm superstitious with the Red Sox. I can't wash my Jason Veritek jersey. So you're superstitious about talking about things. I didn't want to say anything that they were going to win the World Series last year. I can't talk about certain things. So I completely understand. Make love at first sight? That was hilarious though, wasn't it? No, it was really depressing. It was really depressing when you did that. We were all really hurt. I think everybody on the 15 and the 5. was just really bummed out. We're disappointed. Really disappointed. I just think, yeah, definitely. I'll make another joke that will make us smile later. I'll tell you what, guys. I think we'll probably go to break now. Just really sorry we brought this up. I think we've all learned a valuable lesson here. See you in a few. LOL. Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for recommending AIS Insurance. Love it. Yeah, dude, friggin', I had a progressive. Before, limited coverage, nothing, no medical, no towing, no rental, no nothing. Right. And called them. They hooked me up with full coverage. Saved $650 for the year. 3D-wise, totally saved me money. Dope. I saved $1,600 when I switched it. Well, you're better off than me. Yeah, no, no, no. I'm just saying, if you're driving right now and you're listening, and you're hearing Travajo's story, and you're hearing my story, you got to... Call AIS. 1-800-777-4AIS because they save you money. That's all I'm telling you. And Travaho, I did not ask him to call. He hears me talk about AIS. He heard it. He called in. Yeah, it was rad because I actually called the day before and renewed my coverage. Yeah. And it was almost $1,100 for six months. Well done.
I called AIS the next day. It wasn't even 24 hours after I renewed it, and it was $1,400 for the year instead of almost $1,100 for six months. That's great. Travaho, congratulations, and thank you for calling. I appreciate it, Mikey. All right, man. 1-800-777-4AIS. He's from Memphis? Okay, got it, got it. Because at first I was like, I can't place it, I can't place it. Memphis. Our text number is 35253 and our phone number is 570-1053. Love to hear from you. Never heard of it. Let's see. People are still calling in. This one's got me. I don't know how to answer this one. P1 Rory. What's up, Rory? That is true. I loved my son upon seeing him. That's right. It exists. You probably loved him before that, though. I could have.
I could have. Now, I've spoke about this a million times. I believe, and I base this on nothing. I have nothing substantial to back this on. But I believe that there is a chemical that exists in us that's released upon hearing our child cry. And that it is something that's built into us biologically that occurs so that we will protect the child. No doubt. I agree with you. But to me, I think you're loving that kid, you know, upon conception. You find out your wife is pregnant. I mean, you're like, you know, you love your kid already. If anything were to happen. Yeah, because I remember when we were going through a thing in her third trimester where she was having low ambiotic fluid. That was worrying us because we thought something might happen. So I think that that is entirely possible. 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. Love at first sight. P1 Smart Guy. Smart Guy, you there? Yeah, hey, Mikey. What's up? Yeah, hey, I was just calling to, because I heard a lot of people talking about the chemical reactions. And basically, I just wanted to say that there's three chemicals that basically disprove love at first sight altogether. And the first one is obviously serotonin.
which is what you feel when you feel that lust phase. The actual love can't exist until you start experiencing the chemical oxytocin, which builds trust. Oh, wasn't Rush Limbaugh addicted to that stuff? Yeah, he was. He loved that stuff. He loved the oxytocin. He put it in his milkshakes. That's right. Oxytocin smoothie. That's right. But then the very last chemical only exists after you've built up enough. When you first start dating somebody and you feel that serotonin, it gives you the butterflies and the jitteriness and everything like that. And then you sort of mellow out into that phase where, you know, you're just really comfortable with the person and that's oxytocin. And then the last chemical is the vasopressin. Vasopressin? That's a good one. Is that like Robitussin or is it different? Does it work differently? Yeah, it helps if you have a cold. I gotcha. Yeah. Thank you very much. Yeah, that's a chemical that builds long-term attachment. Thank you very much. I appreciate the phone call. Apparently, there is a beach report card that has come out. How did San Diego do? We actually did pretty darn well. Let's see. This is the 18th annual beach report card. And basically, they say that out of all California, San Diego County beaches are the cleanest when it's dry out.
Now when it starts to rain and stuff starts to run off into the ocean, not so much. Yeah, we have a lot of things that go into the ocean here. Yeah, they say the worst in wet weather are five beaches from Imperial Beach down towards the border. And when it's raining out, they get an F grade, which means they are unfit for human contact. Hometown. Yep, way to go, Zed. Are you kidding me? Where they go, human beings can't be in this. Yeah, they say so far this year, parts of Imperial Beach's shoreline have been closed because of bacteria contamination for a total of 50 days so far this year. Seth, sorry. 50 days this year. Yuckies. That's disgusting. But when it's dry out, it's just beautiful. Good thing it doesn't rain that much. You know the off-duty cop that fired at the lady and the 8-year-old in the car? The mother apparently has filed a lawsuit on behalf of the 8-year-old. Yeah, I don't know if it's the mother or the father because I believe they're not together. So I don't know exactly who filed the lawsuit, but a lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the 8-year-old boy. And it was filed in federal court yesterday against the off-duty officer.
the city of San Diego, the San Diego Police Department, and the police chief. The lawsuit seeks damages in the amount sufficient enough to punish and make an example. They also want changes made to the department's policies regulating off-duty officers and their ability to carry firearms. I wonder if they will donate the money to charity. Okay, come on. I don't know, I'm just... Throwing it out there, it's an idea if they wanted to. That's all they care about. Yeah, so Mike Aguirre, of course, commented on the issue. But he's the city attorney. And says it's really hard for him to understand why the taxpayers of San Diego should be financially responsible for what happened. And that goes in regards to them suing the city of San Diego. Wow. As part of the lawsuit. Wow. Yep, yep, yep. Oh, wow. Wow. Let's see. In Hungary? Is that where this happens, Skye? The thing with the CEO of Microsoft? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell everybody what the deal is. Well, the CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, was speaking... Ballmer! Ballmer! He was speaking... Hey, Ballmer! What up, Ballmer? He was speaking to economic students. That's his frat friends in college? Ballmer! Hey, Ballmer! What's up, Ballmer? Big ball, Ballmer!
He was speaking to economic students in Budapest when one student ran into the lecture hall and started throwing eggs at him. That is not good. Yeah, one just barely missed hitting him. Luckily, he didn't get hit. And he said that this is the first time he had had an egg thrown at him since 1966. Yeah, I guess the person was upset. because of a contract between Microsoft and Hungary regarding Microsoft software. Wow. That's how they took care of it. They really got upset about it. They showed him. Kevin Mawai from the Titans thinks that the rookie contracts are out of control. Yeah, he was specifically talking about the Matt Ryan contract that the Falcons signed. He says, you know, it's really disheartening for veterans when they see these guys who've never played a down of football in the NFL get these huge contracts. And the veterans who've been in the league, you know, 12, 13 years are fighting for, you know, scraps. Right. And so that's basically what he was talking about. I wonder if anything will change. Yeah, I'm sure they will.
How about if we were to do something like this? This is the way that Sean TV works. What we do is we have Sean do his regular thing. You know, watch everything. He watches the entire television spectrum. That is true. And so that means that he sees a lot of shows and a lot of times it's shows that we would never watch. I've never even heard of. Never even heard of is a great way to put it. Never heard of these shows. But some of them have been very good recommendations. What one? What do you mean some? Sports Action Team is something that I now TiVo on the regular and watch. Yes. And I must admit.
Yes. That I have enjoyed a couple of episodes of Tim and Eric. Awesome show. Great job. There, you see? I YouTube it. That is a pretty interesting show. It's 11 minutes in length. Oh. And that is not including commercials. With commercials, of course, it's a very long show. It's 15 minutes long. Wow. There it is. Helping you lead better lives, Mike. That's right. That's right, Shawnee, oh boy. Yeah. So, Sean, what have you got? Mike, this week we've got one of my favorite cooking shows currently on television. It's called Dutch Oven and Campfire Cooking with C-Dub. That's not real. What? That is a made-up name. That is not a made-up name. Internet TV doesn't count, Sean. That's not Internet TV. You're saying this is a television program on television. Yeah, on television. It's on the RFD TV network. RFD? Now you're making them networks, too. No, I'm not. There's no such thing as called RFD. You've never heard of rural free delivery television. What is he talking about? No, we haven't, Sean. Yeah, it's on DirecTV. It's on Dish Network. It's on Comcast. RFD television. All right, let's hear it.
Mike, in this clip, C-Dub is cooking outside. He usually cooks outdoors. C-Dub? Yeah, his name is C.W. Butch Welch. And everybody calls him C-Dub. And he's cooking outside. And unfortunately, when you cook outside, Mike, sometimes the... Well, there's a problem with hornets. What the hell? But he makes light of the situation, which is why he's so great. That we have some... And you can see our local wildlife, the hornets, they found this fresh meat. They're going to want some of that. In fact, on the other hand, I was cooking the other day at home. Got stung and my fingers, they were fat enough to go on a grill. So we're just going to slather these steaks with oil. What is he talking about? He sounds very youthful. You know, he's a great personality, Mike, and that's what makes the show so much fun to watch. He sounds like he's about 180, first of all. Well, okay, he's a little bit of an older gentleman. I mean, you know, does that mean that he shouldn't be on television? Well, he's extremely monotone as well. Well, yes, yes, he is. Nothing entertaining about that. But he's doing that in order to accentuate when he talks about the hornets and his fingers and going on the grill. But he didn't accentuate anything.
Well, you have to listen more closely. What if most people freak out if hornets were flying around and stinging you? Yeah, I don't want that. And I don't think that if we listen more closely, we're actually going to hear anything. Definitely not. So, Mike, in this next clip. Oh, no. There's more? He's showing off his skills. It's called Dutch Oven and Campfire Cooking with C-Dub. On what channel? The RTD. TV network. That's a. Can I get that on? It's on the DUI network. No, it's. It's on DirecTV, Dish Network, and Comcast. It is? Yes! I've never seen this channel. I have DirecTV. Apparently you don't watch enough television. I try. He watches everything. But how did he even find it? I don't know. So in this clip, Mike, C-Dub shows off his skills as an effective orator, if you will. Oh, no. By painting a word picture for us. That is nearly indescribable. We'll get over here to our fire pan. We're just going to lay those steaks out. I can't see this. I can't see this. What is he doing? I can't see it. Cooked for a few minutes. Wow! Is he out of his mind? Is he out of his mind? Stop!
You are the best. He's out of his mind. Sean, that is terrible. Mike, it's Dutch Oven Cookin' with C-Dub. It's on the RFD TV network, Tuesday nights, 8 o'clock. I'll see you there. No, you won't. No, you will not. You won't see any one person that just heard that there. Oh, Mike. You guys don't get it. Sky mentioned it earlier, but there is an A-list rock lead singer. in rehab today. Just went in there yesterday. Tell you more about it after this. Welcome to another Cable Fable Story Minute brought to you by AT&T. Official sponsor of The Time Out presents Great Moments in Time Out History. October 11th, 1990. Philly versus Atlanta. Preseason for two teams that wouldn't see the postseason. But Philly guard Stanley Steely made it a day hard to forget. For he came up with a play that defied logic and maybe common sense. 18 seconds left.
Philly up by five. Stanley calls timeout. Did he want a new play? No, he just wasn't in the mood. A genius play, except that Philly had no timeouts, earning them a technical foul. And then he called another, and another, and then another. Six technical foul shots later, Philly lost by one. But to us at Corona, he's the game's MVP, for he reminds us that not even victory can beat ice-cold Corona. So remember, there is no I in team, but there is in line. Well, he sells like DVDs, you know, of the shows. I'm very fortunate I haven't got it. You are fortunate. It's taken a while to connect. I don't know how I've got it. People are blown up. Yeah, I must be bombarded with people. C-E-E-B-U-B-S.com. Look at that guy. One hasn't loaded yet. Let's see. Cookbooks and tapes. The menu bar reads as follows. Yeah, Mike, read it. Cookbooks and tapes. Yeah. Dutch ovens and accessories. You'll need those. Duh. Oddly enough, appearances. Well. Well. Cooking clinics. Oh, there's appearances? Let's see. TV series. Now that's the one you want to click on. And hot links.
Is that Richard Dreyfuss' grandpa? You are an idiot. I'm not. I'm not. Sean is unbelievable. You're unbelievable. See him there with his tent? He puts by his tent, Mike. This says, I've seen that show. He made a pineapple upside down cake in a Dutch oven over a campfire. That's P1E train. And I'm sure it was bomb, dude. That's funny that you say that because the next text message reads, Sean TV is the B-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-M-B. They must not know what that means. Yeah, I don't think they realize the bomb is good. Like it's a good thing. That's a good thing. They do mean it's a good thing. Mm-mm-mm. C-dubs. Oh, and when you hover your cursor over the little Dutch ovens. Stop it. Yeah. Fire appears from the bomb. Thank you, Sean. Thank you. Thank you for that. I'm just saying it's high-tech. No, it looks very high-tech.
570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. I'll get you a DVD. I appreciate it. Yesterday on the Today Show, Denise Richards. She's making the rounds. Oh, dude. Yeah, she is. And yesterday she appeared on the Today Show, and it's about her new reality show? Yes. Does anybody know what it's called? My Life is Denise Richards. I'm crazy. No, hold on. Go ahead, Sky. I got it here somewhere. Dealing with Denise. Dealing with Denise. It's got to be here somewhere. Daffy Denise. Denise Richards, it's complicated. I would agree with that. Cut 50. Charlie knew you were coming on the show today, and he released a statement, and he says her claims that this email has been fabricated or altered in any way to create this story are absurd. The mere fact that she continues to publicly discuss and harass both Brooke and me three years after our separation, which for the record is longer than the actual length of the marriage, is beyond desperate and speaks volumes, end quote. You know, he's the one that's speaking. Oh, you're here speaking. I'm not saying anything negative about him. Get out.
You know, standing by my allegations, I'm telling you that that email's false, but I'm not... I'm not out here to bash Charlie. He's still the father of my daughter. After all that's happened, you get this chance to do a reality show, and there are probably some people who say, you just want to cloister yourself away in a cave. Why do this? How do you respond to that? Because I've been cloistered in a cave, and there's been so many things written and said about me that are negative and not true. Sometimes my mother-in-law has cloister stuff. I've asked my mother. You're faced with a death. I had to have my cloister drained. You did? I have everything written about me. I hear that. I don't care. People will see me for me and then write what they want. Wow. Well, she certainly went from having a great time to Matt Lauer. Yeah. I love him so much. Love him. He continues the interview, this time asking about the kids and the reality show. Cut 51. Charlie's extreme objection to your kids being a part of this reality show. Did you stop for a second and perhaps consider his wishes?
When I originally approached Charlie, he didn't have a problem. He signed the waiver that I needed for e-television, and he changed his mind, and he wanted me to, I'll be honest, I wasn't going to say this, but since we're on the subject and since he released his statement, Charlie wanted me to agree to custody changes to our stipulation. And then he said he would give me the waiver, and one has nothing to do with the other. So it was a quid pro quo. I didn't want to change our custody for the show, and so I asked. the judge can i please still do the show he saw that he signed the waiver and and when people do watch the show my children are in it very little if charlie and i were the type of couple where we wanted to shield our children for from the media sam was on two and a half men when she was eight months old um i would understand but those weren't consistent with what he and i he never even said anything about it to me but and you know he talks about me saying things about him and brooke no one knew about my reality show until Charlie made a point of letting people know when he was going to court and this and that. I mean, I prefer to keep all this private and that's why I haven't done interviews like this in three years. There should be a law about two crazy people reproducing. You know what I mean? They both do beat each other up in the media, don't they? Yeah, and like, I never know who to believe because they both seem crazy. Well, she is making the rounds, man. Oh, yeah. Uh,
So anyway, that was yesterday from the Today Show. You know you're going to start hearing him. You know he's going to start making the rounds. Yeah, well, he did issue that statement. Yeah. This is from Bill Bellamy. You guys know Bill Bellamy, the comedian. What up? Last Comic Standing premiering tonight. Yeah, but it doesn't start until 9.30, which is lame. It's going to get destroyed. It's going against the season finale of Grey's Anatomy. Why would they do that? Four people watch that? Idiot! Here's Bill Bellamy, cut 56. Season 6, I think we're taking it up. We're going to put some roids on it. We're going to turbo it out. We're going to blow it out. We're going to have a whole bunch of fun. Not only are we going to look for some of the funniest comedians in the world, we're going to do some really cool improvisational type stuff. We're going to do some fun stuff with the line, with people who are auditioning each city. We've got some surprise things for you guys. I love surprises. I can't wait. I love surprises. Girl.
Roid it up. Roid it up. That's right. And guess what's coming out in movie theaters? Say it. Today. Today's the day. Eddie just took off his fedora. And now the whip. There he goes. He's on the horse. I think we should hear from Harrison Ford. Help me with my colostomy, Ben. The hat on my head. He's sick, Sean. They're very physical things. And keep my hat on. And it's not by stapling, really. But it's a lot of work sometimes to keep the hat on. Keep the hat on when you're super cool. Here he is talking more about the movie Indiana Jones and the Creeps That Wouldn't Go. That's the name of the movie. No, that's not. I thought it was Indiana Jones and the Creeps That Wouldn't Go. No. Oh, it's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Yes. With a C-dub. All right.
It was originally called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Cindy Skull. Just me and you, though. We like that joke. Me and you like that joke. We're broadcasting to a big audience. Who's out there? Oh, then no one knows Cindy Skull. She was a DJ we worked with in Dallas. Yeah, dude. Yeah, great. Let me tell you something, dude. I just want to say, that joke you guys made was great, right? It was classic. Killed me inbound. Classic. A 25. Truly are audience films. They are visceral and emotional and surprising. And it's a good ride. It's a great ride. No. Stop talking. Audience films as opposed to the most movies which are made for coyotes. Put it in a home. Did you take a sedative for that? Put it in a home already. What the heck is going on? Right. I mean, we saw the movie. He had tons of energy in the movie. What the heck happened? Oh, my goodness. I guess. Steven Spielberg on, here he is talking about Harrison. Ratings.
Cut 29. The casting of that man to play that role was the most important thing we did. More important than my directing it, all the writers that came in to write, more important than almost the sum of all of its parts was the fact, in my mind, that this series would not have been as successful as it was if it were not for Harrison Ford. Playing that role. Luckily, he hung up. Movie phone hangs up on you now? Yeah, I guess it does if you wait too long. Ladies and gentlemen, our text number is 35253. We come back. I'm going to be telling you about massages that we're going to be getting on.

Blue Katie all the way down to Solana Beach with plenty of brake lines there. A little farther south, you've got Caltrans Cruise once again working the left lanes past the 52. And that's going to slow you right around them into Mission Bay. So slow for the Cone Zone. Looking good out of town. And it's so funny sometimes where Ted will go, no, no. What are you saying over there? The funnest I am. I lie a lot. But, you know, last night something happened. I didn't even realize it happened. I get myself in trouble all the time. Ted was talking to me about taking a cruise. I said, they're boring. I found out later they just pushed a commercial on taking cruises. That's great.
The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Welcome back to the show. It is 9-19. Well, who would have thunk it? David Cook won American Idol last night, receiving 12 million more votes than Archuleta. Ugly night at the ballpark for the Padres last night. Not only did they lose, but they lose Chris Young and Josh Bard all in one inning from Albert Pujols. Oh, wow. So Britney Spears making a new album. Again? I guess so. We've all been waiting. This is not rumor. This is fact. She just made one. That's what I thought, too. Yeah, she did. What was that called? Blackout? Yeah. Well, her producer, J.R. Ronham, tells People Magazine. Clinton.
tells People Magazine that since right after she returned from Costa Rica, that she went straight into the studio and that she's playing around. He says it's kind of in the experimental stages of a new album. She's just trying to find out what kind of sound and what direction she wants this new album to take, but she's working on it. Hmm. Costa Rican jams. That's right. So check this out, man. Three. San Diego County hospitals have been fined for practices that either caused or were likely to cause death to patients. Whoa. So, Skye, what is up? Okay. So, like you said, three hospitals were fined. The hospitals are UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest, Scripps Green Hospital, and Scripps Memorial Hospital. Wow. Whoa. Yeah, so... Are they doing, like, surgery with their eyes closed? Yeah, what was going on? Yes, in the dark. That's ridiculous. Surgery by darts. So, UCSD Medical Center Hillcrest had an incident last July when an employee improperly administered a drug to a critically ill patient. That is bad news.
Scripps Memorial Hospital had two things. Failing to develop and implement policies to protect patient safety related to the use of controlled substances. And also for failing to implement policies and procedures related to the safe and accurate use of medications in emergency situations. And then finally, Scripps Green Hospital, they were fined for failing to implement policies and procedures. Sorry, Sean. To provide for effective surgical infection control. Oh, Mike. That's scary. Mike. Oh, that's very scary. All right, Sean. So Albert Pujols hitting a line drive into your nose. Or just a quick little thing, you know, in and out. No. Script screen. You're a germaphobe. Wow. Which would you take, Sean? I'll take it right in the face. Really? Oh, my gosh. Come on. Wow. But then after you get hit with the baseball, you're going to have to go to the hospital. That's right. Good point. They're going to have to do stuff with stuff that might not have been so washed. I'll do it myself at home.
So Kristen Davis from the show Sex and the City. Well, people send her when she goes to bars. People send her over Cosmos. Because that's what they drink on Sex and the City. So she says every time she goes out, everybody's always sending Cosmos her way. That's great. Except she's a recovering alcoholic. And so I guess, you know, she's like, Hey, I'm not a jerk. I don't actually, I can't, I can't have that. I don't mean to be mean, but maybe it's a virgin Cosmo. Yeah, she says she's never actually hit the fact that she's a recovering alcoholic, but she said that, you know, she went through rehab and got sober prior to becoming, you know, totally famous. And so people just aren't aware. Did you guys hear about when she was this? I think this was last night, too. Did you guys hear about her going on the David Letterman show and how David Letterman was introducing her and he messed up and cussed a mistake? What? You guys didn't hear about it?

Hey, we're moving right along for a very nice ride on our freeways right now. We've got no major problems going on. Just a busy coastline ride as usual. South on set of the 5, quite heavy still out of Lucadia all the way to Solana Beach. And then as you fork your ways farther south, we'll watch for a backup approaching the 52, and that's a slow ride in the Mission Bay. You've got Calentrans crews working the far left lane here near Val Bowen. That's what's causing that major backup. South 15 looking pretty nice. Just a brief delay here down to the Miramar area. Man, I got to thank you for that reference to AIS, man. They saved me so much money. Very, very nice. When did you call them? Oh, shoot, like five days ago. And I just went in yesterday and got it all set up. How much money did they save you?
They saved me $2,000 a year. Here's the thing, man, all right? I got back for my third tour in Iraq in October, okay? Saved that like a whole lot of money, right? And I went out and bought myself a 98 Corvette Z06. I was with USAA. I was paying almost $5,000 a year because I'm 23 years old, man. They were raping me for insurance. And you switched to AIS, and now you're saving $2,000 a year. I'm paying just under $3,000 a year now. Sweet, dude. Hey, appreciate it, man. We'll see you. I love your show, dude. Congratulations. All right, thanks. Thank you. 1-800-777-4AIS. Now here's something you may have missed this morning on The Mikey Show. Here is the way that tough love with Eddie works. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Back at the Mikey Show. It's 9-29. Torrey Spelling has signed on to make a cameo in the first episode of the upcoming 90210 spinoff. The Diamondbacks' Brandon Webb finally loses after starting 9-0 on the season. I can't believe that guy won nine games in a row. Start the season. He would have been 10-0. Crazy. Welcome back. Our phone number here is 570. Our text number is 35253. Before we went to break, I said that Kristen Davis was on the David Letterman show. And the name of the TV show that she's on, HBO, is Sex and the City. Yes, yes. They got a movie coming out. They have a movie coming out about these ladies from the Sex and the City.
When Sean stayed with us, his wife came, and we were watching movie trailers, and one of them was this Sex and the City. And my wife and his wife were discussing, because in the movie, I guess Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw is getting married. Mr. Big? To Mr. Big. They don't really believe that it will actually happen and that they were both like coming up with these theories about how, yeah, I think that they're trying to make you think that it's not going to happen or they're trying to make you think that it's going to happen and then they're going to do the old switcheroo and it's not going to happen. And she said, and then I even think there's the possibility that they're trying to make you think it's going to happen. So you think it's not going to happen and then it happens.
A little double reverse psychology. Yeah, and I'm just like, and I don't know about you, Sean, but I did not get one second of what they were talking about. No idea. I didn't get one second of what they were saying and what it was about. But anyway, here is David Letterman messing up. while introducing her. Cut 41. When was the last time you were here? Was it a long time ago? It was too long. Yeah, I think it was too long ago. But that's the thing. The show, the Sex and the City show. Take two. What do you think the deal was? Like they knew that they were taping it, so might as well just go for it? Yeah. That's pretty outstanding. He had the show right. That's right. No, come on. I've never seen that, man. I saw part of the episode. I watched Craig Gass. And then once he was off the screen, I stopped watching it. But yeah, Craig was on an episode. He like, who was his romantic interest? Miranda. She the redhead? Yeah. It wasn't bad. This is Dina Lowen talking about her new reality show, Cut 46. What do you think is the one biggest misconception about your family? There's so many. I think that we live this.
ridiculous lifestyle you know with limos and bentley's and we don't actually you know i do the food shopping the laundry i'm a soccer carpool mom and you know ali's in regular school although right now she's homeschooling throughout the show it's a little difficult but you know we just do everyday things and what the tablets do right is hurtful you know they're my children and when they i can take it more if they say something about me because i know a little bit more who you know who i am but when you're it's your child it's just It's just horrible. Basically, please write about me. Now, how old is Allie? I think she's 14. 14? I believe so. So here's her talking about how she doesn't want to sing and act just because her sister did. Got 47. You want to act? You want to sing? Yes, I love to sing an act. I can't choose. I love them both. It's just something somebody misquoted me and they said that I want fame or something. And it's not about fame at all. It's I love to sing and I want to show people that I don't want to just do this because my sister is doing it. I want to do it because I love to do it. And yeah, I love to do it. I don't think that's a good idea, though, kid. I mean, it didn't work out very good for your sister, all that stuff. I think that her sister would have said the same thing.
Oh, yeah, it's not about fame. I just really love doing this. My art. Cut 48. The thing I hate is when they say, like, oh, Dina Lohan just wants the fame and stuff. Like, first of all, it's not that at all. It's that she's just helping her kids follow their dreams like any other mother would do. So that just annoys me. The reality show is that? Wait, so what she's saying is... People say this about my mom, that my mom just wants fame. Right. But she's just doing, you know, she's just being a good mom and just trying to support her kids, you know, and be supportive. But it's a reality show. Starring her. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Starring her mom. So how is that supporting your kid? And how is her going clubbing with Lindsay, like just supporting her? That is not, I don't know that everybody would see that as a supportive way to support your kid.
Former Backstreet Boys producer Lou Perlman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison. Holy cow, for what? He, well, I guess since he's been sentenced, he stole $30 million from investors. Whoa. Yeah. $30 million? How much? Did I say $30? I meant to say $300. Whoa. $300 million? Did she say $300? I don't know. She meant to say $950 billion. Billion? Trillion. $300 million from investors. Many of them were elderly investors in a scam who he stole all their life savings. Nice. So he was sentenced to 25 years in prison, and a condition of his sentence is that his sentence will be reduced one month. For every $1 million he returns. Oh, wow. Do you think he still has it? I don't see how you could spend $300 million. I could probably do it. Yeah, you could. Give me about 36 hours. Rob, how long do you honestly think that it would take you to spend $300 million? Honestly? Honestly. And this is something I've discussed with my fiance. Spending $300 million? Roughly.
Because, you know, I always pretend that I hit the lottery or whatever. Yes, he does. Yes, he does. Every time. And I told her I would invest in the Red Sox. What does that even mean? I would become part owner. But they're not for sale. Right. But that's what I'm saying. I would buy them. Yeah, I would go talk to John Henry. Say, listen, I get $300 million. But you take a look at your neck tattoo. I was just going to say that. I'd wear a turtleneck that day. You're so stupid. I'd wear a neck brace. And I would, if I hit the lottery, I seriously consider just becoming part owner of some kind of high up position like manager. For the Red Sox. Yeah. Manager. Of like restaurant. You know how back in the old days, casino managers, when they were actually running things, they'd give themselves a different title? Just do that with me. Give me great seats to every game and give me some of the profits. Why don't you just get season tickets? You could do that? Yeah, right. You got to be on the waiting list for like 40 years. I'm sure you can pay more to somebody. I'd rather own them. Haven't you seen Fever Pitch?
But I mean, does that count as spending it? Because to me, that's investing it to make more money. Other than spending it, it'd probably take me about a month. What would you do? What would you buy? We know he wants a yacht. Yeah, a yacht is a definite. Rob's really into yachts. I switched my mind on that. The maintenance and the upkeep on them. He didn't know that. He didn't know that there was maintenance and upkeep. Now he's like, okay, I'm out. I knew that, but it's just too much and I always have a staff with you and all that. So what would you do instead? I'd buy 900,000 ponies, Mike. That is stupid. What would you do? I really don't want to tell you guys. Come on. This is great. Because I would probably try to invent a couple things. And you guys are going to be jerks. But Rob. No way. But he's already told us like one invention idea was a sock dispenser.
I told him, I said, Rob, we've already got that. It's called your sock drawer. Idiot. I have different ideas that are like technological stuff, but dude, I can hardly even. Dude, cookie stone is not technological. I love cookie stone. Dude, cookie stone was his idea like cold stone. And you go in there and there's like cookie dough and they mix your cookie dough. And then bake it for 11 minutes. And then wait. You sit there and wait for it. And wait and wait. You know when that'll be really great is during the upcoming summer months. A huge hit. Other than that, I would just travel the world then. I would not invent anything. Please tell us what your invention idea is. Please. Patent pending. You've heard, like... The technological stuff where it's like, I don't have the brains to do it, but somebody out there behind like, you know, Mike, like I want to invent light travel. Yeah. No, you jerk. I can't do it, but I'll find somebody to do it. That is ridiculous. I think me and Meatball are going to do it. No, well, you know how...
I don't know what it's called, but now on your radio you can press a button and it sends it to your iPod. Presets, Rob. It's pretty cool. So you guys don't turn the knob? Go ahead. What does it do? It sends something to your iPod? Yeah. Have you heard of that? Well, you haven't? Then I've got to do it. There's the idea. I've pitched this to you guys before. What is it? Like a TiVo for your radio. Oh, I do like that idea. I think that would be genius. I mean, I know that it would... be a little dangerous for certain shows. You know, you could rewind and kind of hear exactly what they said or for fines and all that. But I think a TiVo for your radio, imagine that you set your radio, you're going to be on vacation. You can't hear the Mikey show. You just set the TiVo on your radio or whatever. It'd be like, you know, it'd be just like the concept of downloading, you know, subscribing to a podcast. Oh. So is what he's saying. It would be just, it would be just like that. Oh, you know what? Here we go. Whatever. Okay, fine, Mr. Technological. What do I look like, Donald Trump? Fine, I'll buy a house. No way, I'd travel the world for like eight months. I am whipped and I love it. I'll buy my balls back. No way, dude. I don't want them. Never heard of them. I'll finally finish arborist school.
Yeah, we get my PhD in ABBA. No, but I would go back to school too, though. Bunch of jerks. What would you take, Rob? I don't want to tell you guys. What? How many times? I definitely am not telling you what... What would you major in? Yes, you will. Please, we won't make fun inventing. Cosmetology, Mike. Is that so weird? I want to be a cosmetologist. Sorry, sue me. I am whipped and I love it. I am whipped and I love it. Yeah. I want to go to massage school. There, I said it. It's out there. It's on the table. There. There's my cats. Architectural school. Why is that? That's something weird about us. He's so awesome. Such an idiot. I'm going to hear about this for so long. Easy, Mike Brady. What, are you going to do it in the den? He's Vandalay. Art Vandalay. I don't even know what that means. But he's offended. But I am definitely offended. You should be into importing and exporting. Yeah. You should be a latex salesman. Oh, that's always good, too.
Marine biologist. Tori Spelling. Yeah, dude. Yeah, she does a bad boob job. Sean, we weren't even talking about her. She's going to make a cameo in the first episode of that 90210 spinoff. Now, Jenny Garth, you know, who played Kelly, got asked back to be, you know, a regular character on the show. And Tori Spelling actually, like, talked to the press. Yeah, I thought she was, like, petitioning. Yeah, basically saying, oh, I would love it. Right, right, right. And so I guess she will just get a cameo in the very first episode. That's kind of brutal. I can't wait. I think we have a promo of it. Of the new show? Mm-hmm. You want to hear it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cut 64. Where's it go? I got the chills. Cooler, sexier, more provocative. Where every story is intriguing, every character has a secret, and nothing is what you expect. I play Annie Mills on the new 90210. Annie's got a great family life. She's a very good student. Her dad is the new principal of West Beverly High. Her whole family's had to transfer over from Kansas City. She's the little fish in the big pond of what seems to be sharks.
I played Dixon Mills. Dixon was adopted by Harry Mills. He took him out of a bad situation in the foster home that he was in. Showed him a better life. The thing that attracted me most to Dixon was probably how he adapts to Beverly Mills. Is this like the new theme song? Come on. This guy's all in, by the way. She's all in. The award is the star athlete. at the high school. He seems like a really fun-loving, like outgoing, but down the road. Where's Dylan? My character Naomi is a little bit spoiled, the rich kid, the popular girl. She's a lot of fun. He's head of the generalist department. He's like a, you know, high schooler. He's out. Silver is quirky. She's fiercely independent. Silver? Yeah.
I'm playing Ryan Matthews. He's a literature teacher. He's a younger guy, and so I think he identifies with the students. Celia is the contemporary modern-day mom. She is as cool as her children. What's great about this show is you're going to see not only the world of the teenagers, but also the world of the adults and the two worlds colliding. I'm the janitor at the school. Fun, energetic. Not your typical grandma. The entire cast. Grandma? So much fun. Not your typical grandma? Yes, I do heroin on the show. We're going to take this show to a whole new level. Live in the Zen. Not unlived by the code. 90210. Coming to the CW. The code is what happens at Fight Club. I don't think anybody but you, Sky. I think you might be out on a limb on that one. Wow, you guys don't get it. That was a two and a half minute promo, by the way. I appreciate it. Two and a half minutes. Should have been five minutes. Spike Lee's making a documentary on Michael Jordan. Isn't he about 15 years too late? I think so. I don't know why he's doing it. Why now? Yeah, he just announced that he is doing a documentary about Michael Jordan, which he hopes to debut next year. He says it'll feature previously unseen footage of Michael taken during the last two seasons of his career.
Really? Isn't that the time everybody wants to see the last two seasons? Where he was terrible with the Washington Wizards? His career. Yeah, isn't that the most sought-after period of his life? Totally. We'll be back after this. The Mikey Show. Why can't you just have a coat problem like everybody? Corona, official sponsor of The Time Out, presents Great Moments in Time Out History. July 28th, 1984. Zero-zero, bottom of the ninth. A pitcher's duel? Hardly. It was just boring. Three hours of life that no one will ever get back. But then, a play for the record books. It wasn't a triple play or a diving catch or even the camera catching someone scratch a body part. It was short reliever Ned Niedersen in the bullpen, getting the call from his manager. The only problem, Ned wasn't picking up. Ned let that phone ring and ring, for he had already set up an umbrella over his chair and turned the bullpen radio from the game to all Calypso radio. An all-star effort in Corona's opinion, proving that when you get the call, answer it when you're darn well ready. Like when you're done with your ice-cold Corona and Lyme. This has been another great moment in timeout history. Corona and Corona Lite. Imported by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois. Summer's here at last.

They're doing another one of those controlled burns over at Miramar today and tomorrow. Relax. So don't freak out. They say if you see some smoke, east of the 52. Yell fire. Britney's working on a new album. This is a really, really sad story, but I wanted to mention it because for people that pray, and send out good thoughts, man, do it for this guy. This is a very, very, very sad story. Stephen Curtis Chapman, he's a Christian music star, and it was in the news today that his daughter, five years old, was killed by a car that his son was backing up, and the car hit her and killed her. And it's just so sad, man. A friend of mine, Ty, from the band Third Day, wrote me about it this morning. And it's just so sad. I can't imagine the kind of heartbreak.
that that must be and that he's going through right now. But it's really, really sad. What was the deal? It was his teenage son? His son, yeah. They're not given, you know, because he has three biological children and then three adopted daughters from China. And the gal, the one that was hit, the five-year-old, was his youngest adopted child and his youngest child. And, you know, the... The older brother was backing, I believe, it was a land cruiser out of the driveway and unfortunately didn't see her and ran over her. And, you know, the police are saying it's just a very tragic accident. They air-vacked her and she died at the Children's Hospital there in Tennessee, I believe. It's Tennessee. Yes. So just a really, really sad case. Lift that dude up, man. That is so sad. Stephen Curtis Chapman is the name of the guy. And then, what other story did I miss? Spike Lee, I talked about that. Him making the Michael Jordan deal. Indiana Jones opens today in theaters. What up? If you're interested, you can go see that. It opens up probably in about a million places here in San Diego. 5701053. Beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment. And I have an appointment, so we have to end the show on time today.
Thank you. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call. It's hard to do the show and control this whip, but I've gotten pretty good at it. Thank you very much. We have to go to whip wrangling school. I can actually tie the whip in a knot while whipping it. Using your mouth? That's right, yes. I can actually tie a cherry. I can tie a cherry with the whip. Nice. Really great. Eddie and Skye say Indiana Jones is good. Calm down with that. He said good. He didn't say great. He said good. He said it's great. Eddie liked it. He had some fundamental. Loved it. Hated it. He was polarized on that. But Eddie's a purist when it comes to things like this. He's a Puritan?
Yes. I didn't know that he was a Puritan. He sure is. I'm a polygamist. Okay. Well, who knew that? He answers a lot of questions. Yes, we're finding a lot out right now. Kind of deviates a little bit from what we expect from Indy. It's like a deviated septum. Yep. Mikey's show. Hello. Hey, what's up, man? This is P1 Daniel. What's up? Hey, man. I just had to call in and say I'm back home for summer from Fresno State, and it's so good to be back. So good to hear you. Bulldogs. Bulldogs. Yeah. There you go. Bulldogs. Yeah. That's right. Thank you very much. Hi. Come on, Chetty. Eddie, who is the dude? David Carr, Fresno State, right? Trent Dilfer, Fresno State. Mike Esparza, Fresno State. He was a huge star there. That's right. No. Mikey Show. Hey, this is T1-2-Dog. What's up? Hey, I just wanted to pass a word about the City Film Fest tonight at San Diego City College. What is it? Well, it's a student film festival for the students at San Diego City College, and we're inviting everyone to come out. It's completely free. It's at 7 p.m., and it's at the Seville Theater. Have you done it before? We did it last year, actually. We invited you last year. Are the movies pretty good? The movies are great. We've got some great ones. At every film festival, you have hit and misses, and tonight we have better hits than misses. So it's going to be a lot of fun. It's going to be a lot of great prizes out there.
So, yeah, everyone should come out. Yeah, man, if I didn't go, don't take it personally. It's just because I'm sleepy all the time. I take everything personally. Well, then I am sorry. How do you enter a movie into that thing? I'd like to get one in there. Well, you know, you go online or you just call me up. Rob, video that you've taken on your phone doesn't really, that's not really what they're talking about. I want to redo Jaws from the angle of the shark. I'd watch it. From that position. From the point of view of the shark. That's weird. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Hey, did you guys play B-Rob's new song already? I get to play B-Rob's new song, but I got an appointment, and that's why we got to wrap up on time today, and we're still late. We'll drop it tomorrow. We'll drop it tomorrow. Lovely and talented Missy is up next. Today on the show, she's got The Lost and Found, songs you haven't heard in a long time, so make sure you listen, and we'll see you tomorrow morning. At 5.30, the Mikey Show's out late. Love you, man.
