June 16. Oh, my goodness. Monday, it's 6.06. NBC's Meet the Press moderator, Tim Russert, died suddenly on Friday from a heart attack at the age of 58. Tiger Woods is a witch. How does he do it? Nailed his putt on the 18th hole yesterday to force an 18-hole playoff today with Rocco Mediate. So that's how it ends? Yeah. He does that on the 18th. Yeah, the U.S. Open this weekend was the single most amazing athletic performance I have ever seen out of any athlete in any sport ever. Tiger Woods was nuts. Over everything you've ever seen? Anything I've ever seen, dude. Saturday, he was incredible. It was incredible. By far the most amazing thing I've ever seen in sports. Really?
Hits two gigantic putts, like 60-foot putts, for Eagle to take the lead. What does that mean? It's two under par. So a birdie is one under par. This is two under par. 60-footers. I don't know how he did it. It was crazy. I jumped out of my couch. Oh, my. And then yesterday, he lost the lead. I mean, his knee, every time he swung, he grimaced because his knee was jacked. Because, you know, he's coming off this knee surgery. I mean, every time he hit, he's like, oh. And gutted it out, lost the lead, and then had to hit this 18-footer to just force this playoff today. And now he's got to play 18 more today. Wow. No doubt about it, in your opinion, the greatest golfer to ever live? Not only the greatest golfer, he's the greatest athlete I've ever seen in any sport. No kidding. Yeah, he's the most amazing. amazing athlete I've ever seen. Really? He's crazy, man. There's nobody I've ever seen that can do the things that he can do, especially in the clutch situations. Like, 18th hole, I mean, the final hole out of a 72-hole event, he hits a gigantic putt to force this playoff. He's going to win today. He's going to win. And Rocco Mediate must be going, what do I have to do? This poor guy.
Let me tell you something. He's such a nice guy. He's 45 years old. This was going to be his first ever major championship, and now he's got to put Tiger Woods in a playoff. Sorry, Rocco. Oh, my gosh. This is absolutely insane, man. You know, on Friday night, I think it was Friday night, yeah, we were on the way to the benefit, you know, that we did for Jerry Hurd. and we went to dinner, and they had a big screen in there, a plasma, and they were showing the U.S. Open, and it looked so beautiful. I mean, it looked so great, and I made this mental note of, I really want to look at some of that this weekend. I didn't get to, and now you saying that makes me go, oh, it was crazy, man. It was crazy. I've never seen anybody do the things that he does. Oh, wow, man. Four or five times Saturday and Sunday, he hit the ball, like, off the tee so badly, it went into the people. And so, you know, he had to go, and then he'd hit it right onto the green from, like, these crazy angles. And then, you know, it was just nuts, man. And those putts he made, he hit a 60-footer on Saturday that literally made me jump off my couch. I would love to see that happen, man, the 60-foot putt. Was that the one from, like, when he was in the...
whatever it's called, and it put it up. No, no. That was the other thing he did. Crazy. On 17 on Saturday, he was off the green, you know, in the rough. In the rough, yeah. Chips one sky high, takes one bounce and goes into the hole. No, it didn't. No, it can't be that. It was crazy, Mike. It was stupid. Nuts. That's crazy. Like, even Tiger's face. Like, he couldn't believe. He's like, whoa. That was weird. He just started laughing. Yeah. He started laughing? Yeah. Because he's like, are you kidding me? Bounced right in. I got to start watching golf. This is something, like, I can't wait to tell my kids about. Yeah. Like, this U.S. Open has been awesome. Oh, man. Awesome. And it's here. That is amazing. So it starts this morning at 9? Yeah, the coverage starts at 9. 18 more holes. Yep. Now, when will, do we know when another major will happen? I think the next one is the British Open. Okay, so do you think that between, well, for a long time, Tiger will just relax? He's got to shut it down because, I mean, his knee is jacked. I mean, every swing he would grimace. So, I mean, he's going to have to take at least.
Probably a month off. I wonder what they did to it yesterday, you know, afterwards. Because he's got to play today, so I'm sure his people were on it. He said something about, you know, when they asked him, you know, it looked like in the beginning of the round yesterday, it looked like it was really hurting you. And it looked like it kind of eased up. And he said, yeah, I took something to have it kind of relieve. Yeah. So I don't know if that's medicine or if they shot him up. Or rock tar heroin or whatever. Oh, yeah. You never know. You can never be. No, you can never be. I mean, listen. Seth just sent me a YouTube of the putt that you're talking about, Eddie. The 60-footer? Yeah, it's coming up right here. I mean, let's see. Look at where he's at. Look at that. Oh, my goodness. Watch how much it turns. Like, I don't know how he reads this. Scott, you want to look at this? I like that. Okay. Look at that. Look at where it's at right now. Oh, my gosh. Curve, curve, curve, curve, curve, and in. That's creepy, man. It is. That's real creepy. It's like a video game. It's like a video game. People at Torrey were going nuts. Oh, I bet, man. They were saying that was the loudest they've ever heard a golf tournament ever. Oh, wow. You know, if he only did it one time, you could chalk it up to luck.
He does it every time. He did it twice, man. Now they're showing the clip on the 17th hole and Tiger laughing hysterically. At himself. At himself of like, that ball just bounced once and went in the hole. I mean, I'm sure in his head he's going, man, I'm not too bad at this thing. I'm kind of good. I should think about going professional. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can call us at the beginning and end of every show. Give us a call right now. I finally watched Lars and the Real Girl. I watched it. Review, please. Sky, I really liked it a lot. In fact, if I could have got a copy of it yesterday, I'd have given you the new copy and kept the one that you gave me, you know? Oh, really? I really enjoyed it. Yeah. Now, it's fantasy land. It's fantasy land, in my opinion, in terms of like... how this community reacts to him. But I loved that. I thought it was so sweet. Very positive. It's real positive. It's real sweet. And I just, I really liked the idea. It was, and it was really well acted and well directed and well done and very indie feel to it. Well said. Very indie.
Yeah. Did you like it? Oh, yeah. I thought it was great. I mean, it definitely wasn't what I expected. I thought it was going to be like more like a comedy. Yeah. But yeah, but it was still really good. Weird. Totally weird. Yeah. But good. This is good. Yeah. And I was really surprised by that actor, Ryan Gosling. Is that his name? Have you not seen The Notebook, bro? He's the notebook guy? Yes. He's the lead guy in The Notebook? Yeah. See, he's real, real pretty. Yeah. And that's the deal. So I thought, oh, isn't this guy, you know, and I don't know why. I didn't realize he was a notebook guy. For some reason, I thought he was one of these sort of Dawson's Creek type guys. Oh. I don't know why I thought that. Remember, he was in that crazy movie when we went over to Nikki's house at one time, and she showed us that crazy movie about, like, a Jewish kid who was, like, into, like, Nazi stuff. Oh, yeah. That's Ryan Gosling. Like, he's like the new it kid in Hollywood. Really? Like, he's like this huge, you know, like, crazy actor. He was really good. Yeah, he's a good actor, man. He was. He was really good. I liked it. Cool. I'm glad. Yeah, and the benefit was really good for Jerry. It was really good. Yeah? Yeah, some listeners came out there. Nice. And they raised a lot of money for this guy Jerry Hurd, who's a friend of ours, and he...
He's in remission right now, but he's got a lot of hospital costs, and they put a dent in that. It was really neat. Sweet. So thank you to the P1s that came out to that. And yesterday, oh, I had a great Father's Day yesterday. I just had such a great Father's Day. It was really awesome. Yesterday was when I watched Lars and the Real Girl. Oh, yeah. And that was nice, just laying in bed watching a movie. That was really nice, you know? Yeah. And I finished up with that. and went out in the backyard and just did garden stuff. We have this avocado tree that never was able to do anything. It just looks so pathetic. And I was like, what is the deal with this avocado tree? And the ground around the little moat around it looks practically like cement. And so I was like, that's what it is. I got to get in there and I got to make a little trench. So I start digging. And I'm not kidding you. There's boulders in there the size of grapefruits. So when they planted it, they just like dug a foot or two and just stuck it in rocks. And they put dirt on top of it. Utterly horrendous. And then the other thing was the back of it.
was cement coming into it from where they poured the fence. So there's like cement in the hole that it's trying to, you know, drink. So it took me an hour to excavate this hole and then stick potting soil and topsoil on there and water it and everything. But I had so much fun. Then I just floated in the pool for about an hour. And then we went out to Ocean Air last night for dinner. Oh, yeah. It was so fun and so good. It was just really, it was a great day. And Jake was in a cool mood. My son. Hey, Sean, do you have that clip? I don't have it ready to go yet. I'll get it ready, though. You guys got to hear this. Jake does voices. He's 21 months old. So crazy. And this little kid is so cute and funny, he imitates Elmo. It's so funny, man.
And the first time I heard him do it, I was like, I think he's manipulating his vocal cords. You know, I'm like, that's really neat. And it's just it's pretty cute to listen to. But anyway, so we'll play that to you. I'm my name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 38 years old. Eddie is our producer. He's our sports guy. And I need to ask you right away. Did you go to the movie? I went to the movies twice. You went to the movies twice. Yes, like I said I would. Mad at my word. Holy Toledo. And you saw The Happening. Saw The Happening on Saturday and The Incredible Hulk on Sunday. Oh, gimme, gimme. Which one, before you give me your I liked it, I didn't like it, or your total review, which one did you like more? It wasn't even close. One was amazing and one was terrible. Oh, wow. I have a guess. The amazing one was The Incredible Hulk. Duh. I'm stunned. Yeah? I'm stunned. You are? Not even close. I'm stunned. What? I had very low expectations of The Hulk because of that turd that came out a couple years ago. But it wasn't even, like, dude, this movie was awesome. It was very much in the tone of Iron Man, which was great. For real?
Crazy good. Crazy good. Wow. Yeah, loved it. Happening. Why? Boy. What's the problem? Global warming? It wasn't happening. It wasn't happening? It was not happening. No. And that joke of global warming is not that far off. Oh. Not that far off. That's crazy. When I found out what the happening was, like, I shook my head. Oh, no. I texted Rob, and I said, you jerk. Oh. Son of a gun. He was pretty close. Mark Wahlberg was awful. Dude, Eddie, I said to my brother yesterday, I'm talking to Mark yesterday morning, my oldest brother, who sees everything. And he has already seen everything. And so he says, have you seen the happening? And I said, no. I said, but you know what?
I'm actually thinking of going to the movie today, and that's the one I would pick. I said, because I have a choice between The Happening and Indiana Jones. And I said, and I think I'd like to see The Happening. Wow. And he goes, oh, I wish that you've already seen it because, you know, I don't want to give anything away, but, man, I'd really like to talk to you about it. And I said, okay. I said, well, I'm thinking about it. And I said, you know, Mark, I said, the only thing that kind of. has turned me off to seeing it is that I said, I watched the trailer. I said, and in the scenes that I saw in the trailer, it looked like Mark Wahlberg was reading. It was almost like he looked like he was acting poorly. He has this really bizarre cadence in the movie, and it is, like, weird, overacting. Like, I don't get it. Like, I don't get the performance. It's like high school. You know, the clip kind of sounds that way. It's terrible, really terrible. A lot of people say it's because he's from Boston, but I don't. Does anybody care about the honeybees? Why don't you care about the honeybees? Who talks like that? He's a teacher in the movie, right? Yeah. Cut 61. I was paranoid because obviously I'm a high school dropout, so.
I wasn't a good student, and I had to portray a teacher who was actually really good at his job, and the kids loved him. But I definitely got a GED science book. Because, you know, in other films, I've spoken other languages, and, you know, it's one thing for me to be able to say the words, but I obviously need to feel confident enough to understand them, to convey them. I don't think that you hire Robert De Niro to, you know, be a 21-year-old guy in a rock band. And I don't know necessarily that you hire... Mark Wahlberg to play somebody so different. He's great when he's in his element. Like a street dog. Punk guy. He's real good. I did not get it. I was like, what's going on? When we listen to that clip, you hear him go, doesn't anybody want to know about the honeybees? It's so weird. He's liked that throughout the whole movie. Really? Yeah. It's very distracting. So Incredible Hulk good, happening bad. Beyond good, really, really good, happening terrible. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call. Right now it's open phone, so you can call about whatever you want. And let's get through. It's already 620. I can't believe we're late. So let me introduce everybody really quick, and we'll be talking about how everybody's doing. Lots of news, man. This Tim Russert thing is real big.
Skye is our news girl. She is 30 years of age. I so badly want to hear about the U.S. Open and her being out there selling hot dogs on Friday. Oh, I want to hear how that went. Sean is our sound effects guy, 38 years of age. He wears little blue headphones. So that's what I can tell you. They're tiny. It's like he's got little seashells on his ears. It's a little tiny seashell. They're not tiny. Ashley is our assistant producer. She is 24 years old, but not for long. Wow. She's got blonde hair. She went to San Diego State. Boston Rob. He's 25. He's a white guy. Afro. Boston. Tattooed on his neck. Good guy. How's the teeth? How's the mouth doing? Uh-oh. That was not what I wanted. You're not digging it. You should be good now. No, no. You're all good. Yep, I'm fine. I'm all done. I don't like this look. You eating jawbreakers yet? Oh, my God. Rob, what's going on? I can see it in your eyes. Yeah. Well, I ran out of my pain meds on Saturday night, so Sunday woke up just writhing.
And I'm popping the ibuprofen 800s like it's candy, and it's not doing nothing. I mean, today I'm a little bit better. I'd say I'm like 65%, but yesterday I spent on the couch, like, you know what I mean? Like, couldn't get comfortable, nothing. Like, it was like there was a rave going on in my mouth. Right. Just a heart, you know, in my teeth, and it was like. How about right now? Right now it's not. I just took some more ibuprofen, but. It's kind of tough. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm like laughing and talking. It's kind of exhausting me. I'm sorry, man. I get the stitches out Thursday, so I figure by Thursday I've got to be good. I want to be beyond this. This is not. Don't do it, kids. Oh, man. He got his wisdom teeth taken out. Let's see. Then there is Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates III, Jr., Esquire. We are going to get you over here as soon as you're ready. As a matter of fact, if that thing, if that laptop you're, oh, it's not a laptop. I had sent a help desk this week about getting like an internet thing that will go all the way over there. Yeah. Nothing yet. Well, they do it for when Sean's in here. They have, hey, Sean, when you're in here and you're sitting on mic three, do you know how they get an internet connection over there?
Usually what I do is I actually bring my own hub because they have not been very responsive in the past. So I bring my own stuff. Now, what do you have to have? Just a little hub. They're only about $20 at Fry's. And you just take the cord that goes into... What about Best Buy? Whatever. You take the cord that goes into Eddie's laptop and you plug it in. And then you take two cords and give one to Eddie and one to Zeth. Okay. Then... Maybe we're going to have to do that. We're probably going to have to do that. It'd be faster. I wish it wasn't like that. I'll tell you, I actually know why. It's because Clear Channel is just a startup. They don't have those kind of resources. It's a little old husband and wife that own this company. No! It's just a company store. We're just like a company store. That's it? They're up there, you know, and so they would get us a hub. But if they did, they might have to forego, you know, food. Yeah, maybe have to shut down a station. Yeah. And so I understand. I would rather the little mom and pop that own Clear Channel be able to eat tonight. Wait, I got an email something about record profits. You did? Yeah. No. Oh, that's right. Probably in the millions. Yeah. Or trillions. Oh, boy.
Whatever it is, it might be enough to get a hub. 570-1053 is our phone number, and we would love to hear from you. So call us if you're a P1. A P1 is somebody that listens to the Mikey Show exclusively. You just listen to the Mikey Show. You're a Mikey Show fan. You're fanatical about it. And when you call in, you turn your radio down, get to the point, and don't cuss. And we are our own. gang. It's like the Bloods, the Crips, the P1s. You know how the Bloods, when they say words, they replace the first letter with a B because they're the Bloods. So instead of drinking from a cup, they drink from a bup. We drink from a pup. Oh, wow. You know, we replace that first letter as well. So we don't go to KFC, we go to PFC. Wow, we're hard. Yeah, we're super hard. You know, hardcore. We're hardcore. We live in Pan Diego. It's great. It's great. P1 Talon is on the line. Hey, good morning, guys. What's up, brother? I just want to say, I think I got that Tiger Woods guy kind of figured out. What is it? I think he has to be a Jedi. It could be. Maybe, you know, he uses, like, Jedi powers to sort of will the ball into the hole. The Force is obviously with us. Yeah. For sure.
Oh, shizzy. The chosen one. That's funny. Thank you, dude. Thank you. P1NATO's on the line. Hi. Good morning. What's going on? Hey, I was at the open on Saturday. Uh-huh. I was standing on, it's kind of difficult to see things because there's so many people that follow Tiger. So I was standing on the 14th tee box waiting for him to tee off when he sunk the eagle on 13th. And I'll tell you, the roar was deafening like a rock concert. Wow. And then when he teed off on the next hole, he was in excruciating pain. He reached down and grabbed his knee and you could just tell that he was hurting. But what I wanted to add to what Eddie said about the greatest sports performance ever, I have to agree. The guy's in serious pain. He's been limping around for four days straight. And he could have mailed in that tournament and took home about a million dollars. But he's so competitive that he wanted that playoff and he sunk that putt. And it was amazing to do so out of the rough like he did. What do you get for winning that sucker? I don't know. Two trillion dollars, I think is what they said. Two trill. It added endorsements for wearing his Nike stuff and all that stuff. He'll make plenty. Drinking his Gatorade. Yep. And you got to see it. You got to see that putt. I was standing on the 14th tee because you have to kind of pick spots along if you want to be able to see anything. I was probably 30 yards away, and right behind, there's grandstands on that hole, and I was right behind those grandstands. I didn't get to see the putt. The little marshals wear little earplugs, and he said,
Tiger just made eagle because we were all like, what happened? What happened? That's awesome, man. And I looked for you, Sky. I didn't see you. I was there on Friday. I thought you might be there all weekend. Oh, no. My mom was, but I was there on Friday. Sky? Yeah. How was it? It was nuts, Mike. Talk to me. It was crazy madness. So I had to park in Del Mar, took a shuttle. Was that experience tough? Well, you know, I'm not good with strangers. I'm not good with places I don't know, new people, the whole thing. And where we parked was also where all the marshals parked. And so we were all on, like, the same, like, shuttle bus. Because I guess the marshals, like, they're all, like, volunteers, you know. They pay, like, $150 for their uniform, and they volunteer their time to be, like, to shush the crowd. Right, right. And keep the walkways. And so, yeah, on the bus, I'm on my way there, and then, you know, I'm just kind of, like, chilling out because I was kind of tired. You know, I'd been up since 3.30, and then all of a sudden I hear this guy yell on the bus, hey, Roger, you must be getting old because you're not even hitting on the pretty chick next to you. And then I, like, look around. I guess Roger's the guy sitting next to me, and they're talking, and I'm like, dude, just please. I don't want to start my day like this. So then, of course, I have to, like, make the small talk, like, oh, no. How old was Roger?
74. No, I don't know. Maybe late 40s, early 50s, you know, whatever. Get there. Get totally lost. My map, it's a mess. Because all the walkways are blocked off. Everything's crazy. It's like a mob scene. It's like general admission when you're in the general admission section of a sold-out concert. Everywhere. Everywhere. It's like that. So it took me about a half hour to finally get to my little booth from the time I, like, walked in until I got there. And then. Got in there, was first on soda and beer patrol for about half the time. And then the second half of the time, I was working the cash register. Yeah. A couple P1s came over and said, what up? Nice. And there was actually a P1 working in the tent, too. Nice. But we didn't, you know, he didn't know until the end when he was finally like, are you, Sky? Yeah.
But it was crazy. You know, we were right behind the grandstands at the fifth hole, and Tiger and his crew played the fifth hole that day. Well, they play the fifth hole every day. Well, they do the whole thing, right? Oh, every day? Yes. Oh, every day? I didn't know. Everybody was freaking out because they're like, Tiger's going to be on the fifth today. And I was like, oh, okay. I don't know. So did he come over and get a hot dog? I thought that they did like half and half or something. I don't know. Okay. So it was a mob scene when Tiger and his crew were there, and they were talking about the crowds. It was crazy, but I didn't really care to go over and look. I'm like, yeah, I'll stay here and man the register. You guys can go. You didn't go take a look at Tiger? No. Hey, man, that's like seeing a unicorn walking down the street, man. One of the biggest celebrities ever. Yeah, I think so, man. Yeah, so I didn't get home until about 8 o'clock that night, and I was wiped. I mean, my dogs were barking. I haven't worked on my feet like that in a long time. That was a crazy thing. Yeah. But it was nice to volunteer and help raise some money for charity. Nice. Nice, nice, nice. We got a lot to do today. We got a lot of stuff going on today. We got the DCC folks in about a half an hour. That's the Dumb Chick Challenge.
So we're going to be doing some of that. We've got to talk about this Russert thing. Tim Russert, if you haven't heard, passed away on Friday. Our text number here is 35253. And we're going to check in with Eric and Ruth. That's the dude that we set up with the single dad setup. Remember we sent the two of them out? Yeah. Also, we're going to be doing P1 trivia today so that somebody can come in here and win themselves a chance to sit in on the show on Friday. You guys notice that they're putting Mari Payton on the early morning 739 anchor desk now? That's very interesting. She's got to be loving it. Talking about the U.S. Open, and we're doing Ask Mikey today. So if you have one of those questions that you want to ask, get that ready to go. Don't go away. We'll be back. Mitch Hedberg in the stand-up spotlight. 5-3. Refried beans. I like refried beans. That's why I want to try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good, and we're wasting time. I went to a... I went to a pizzeria. I ordered a slice of pizza. The dude gave me the smallest slice possible. If the pizza was a pie chart for what people would do if they found a million dollars, this dude gave me the donate to charity slice. I would like to exchange this for the keep it. Oh, you don't even know what stupid is. The Mikey Show is on. It's about to get all shit.

And a road closure still in effect near Montgomery Field. It's the 8800 block of Balboa Avenue. Eastbound lanes shut down while police investigate that as a crash there. This kind of agitates me. The Mikey Show continues featuring Mikey. I don't like horror movies anymore. Used to be my favorite genre of film. Eddie. I have a very big real fear of throwing up. Sky. I was just thinking in my head, I'm getting paid for that. Sean. I really like going to the doctor's office. Boston Rob. Even though I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. And Ashley. I am a really, really, really healthy eater. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. It is 640. Same-sex marriages will begin at 5.01 p.m. today in California. Bye. Greg Maddox had a rough game yesterday, committing his first error, wild pitch, and hit Padres lost to Cleveland 7-3. Our phone number here is 570-1053, and our text number is 35253. And let's see. P1 Joe, what's up? I have some tickets for today's Open. If Eddie wants to join me or a couple of people from your show. Anybody want to go with Joe to the U.S. Open today? Wish I could. Can't. I can't either. I can't do it. I don't have the time. It's very sweet of you, though. Very nice. Thank you. You're welcome. Well, we park right on the north course so you don't have to take the shuttle like Sky did.
Very nice. And you'll walk right in and get to watch the great event. But I will be there. Very nice, brother. Thank you very much, dude. Okay, you're welcome. There you go. There's a guy that's going to the U.S. Open today. You know, we're going to get tons of e-mails and calls now, and I'll take those. So here was Tom Brokaw Friday afternoon. Cut one. I'm Tom Brokaw, NBC News, and it is my sad duty to report this afternoon that my friend and colleague, Tim Russert. The moderator of Meet the Press and NBC's Washington bureau chief collapsed and died early this afternoon while at work at the NBC News Bureau in Washington. You can hear it in his voice, man. Can you imagine? It's your job to report on one of your good friends' deaths. Your friend's death, man. Oh, that is brutal. Cut to. Tim loved his family, his faith, his country, politics. He loved the Buffalo Bills.
the New York Yankees, and the Washington Nationals. He, of course, had season tickets to that team when they moved to Washington. And I think I can invoke personal privilege to say that this news division will not be the same without his strong, clear voice. He'll be missed as he was loved greatly. I'll tell you what, the more that I've been hearing about him since this, it seems like everybody loved him. Oh, yeah. I talked to my dad yesterday, you know, his Father's Day, and he was really upset by this. Yeah, my parents were too. You know, I was going off about how this was his favorite guy and, you know, like how he just really had unbiased political reporting and, you know. He was great. I mean, I didn't watch too much like Meet the Press, but whenever there's like an election or anything like that, he's really good. Like he can talk to you and you don't like. space out and you're, you know, it's very clear what he's talking about. He's just really good. And you don't feel like he has an agenda, you know, which is just very rare in political reporting. I told Rebecca about it yesterday and she couldn't think of who he was. She's like, I can't think of his face. I can't think of what he, I said, if you see him, you'll know immediately. Uh, but he was very well known for asking tough questions in order. This is him interviewing Ross Perot, Al Gore, George Bush, uh, Michael Chertoff and, uh,
John McCain, cut eight. You said that part of your $40 billion deficit deduction plan is $180 billion. Yes, may I finish? May I finish? It was a simple question. Well, you've already finished. Go finish again. It's your program. You can do anything you want to with it. Filegate, Travelgate, Whitewater. What's wrong with those as legitimate issues? Look at all this Whitewater stuff. What's come out of it? Absolutely nothing. In light of not finding the weapons of mass destruction. Do you believe the war in Iraq is a war of choice or a war of necessity? I think that's an interesting question. Please elaborate on that a little bit. A war of choice or a war of necessity? It's a war of necessity. Mr. Secretary, you say pre-stage people were sent to the convention center. There was no water, no food, no beds, no authorities there. There was no planning. We'll have time to go back and do an after-action report, but the time right now is to look at what the enormous tasks ahead are. Many Americans believe now is the time for accountability. Senator John McCain, thanks for joining us and sharing your views. I haven't had so much fun since my last interrogation. Tim Russert's one of those guys that whenever I would see him on TV, I guess I kind of subconsciously thought to myself, you know, as I get older and I mature into Tim Russert,
I want to watch that guy. He seems pretty smart. He's one of those guys you just make subconscious comments to yourself about. And he seems like he was a real good guy as well as being a really good journalist. Yeah, it was very sudden. He was only 58 years old, so very shocking. He knew every major politician, obviously, and had interviewed and spent time with every major politician. So pretty much every major politician was commenting on his loss. Barack Obama, cut six. I've known Tim Russert since I first spoke at the convention in 2004. He's somebody who, over time, I came to consider not only a journalist but a friend. There wasn't a better interviewer in television, not a more thoughtful analyst of our politics, and he was also one of the finest men I knew.
We're going into the heavy stuff now with McCain and Ross Perot. I just read his name. I read his name. I just read his name. That would be awesome. It would be. McCain and Obama. Wouldn't that though? I could have read George Michael's name. That would have been even better. McCain and George Michael. You're getting into all that now. It would have been nice to see him asking tough questions. Here's Andrea Mitchell from NBC Cut 5. He called me and he said, was I right, Mitch? He calls me Mitch. There are only two people in the world who call me Mitch. One is Tim Russert. The other is my dad. And he just started calling me Mitch without, I think, even knowing that my dad calls me Mitch. And that's his nickname for me. Always will be. And he called me and he said, was I right? And of course he was right. Everything that I learned outside of the White House about covering politics, I learned at his feet and learned by following in his shoes on Capitol Hill. And there's no way to describe this man who was larger than life, who had the passions for baseball and football, for the Bills, for his family. There is no one who was filled with more love and life than Tim Russert. And it is inexplicable, it is impossible to believe that he is not with us.
I wonder what was up with the ticker, man. You know, 58 years old and the guy died. Yeah, I read, yeah, he had had like an enlarged heart that, you know, they, I guess, weren't aware of. It's just heart. How are you not aware of that? Yeah, how are you not aware of it? I guess it just, well, because I guess they got, you'd have to see in there to know that that was going on. Isn't that what the yearly physicals for, Mike? I don't know that they do that, though. I don't think they do that. I don't think they do. No. Unless you request like a, and. Eddie's a doctor. We could ask Eddie, but I don't know that they could figure that out with an EKG or if they can't. They can, Mike. They can, Eddie says. Eddie has a stethoscope around his neck right now. You know, that's just to listen to my own stuff. Okay. My own stuff, by the way. That's not... Yeah, according to Tim Russert's doctor, he was surprised by the autopsy finding an enlarged heart and said that Russert had had a stress test in April, which came back normal. Oh, see, that's crap. It kind of is, man. It sucks. It scares you. Crap. Same-sex marriage starts today at 5.01. So what that means is... Yo, Chris. Is that...
By the 11 o'clock news tonight, you're going to see a lot of video of, you know, this. Gay people kissing. Pretty much. The first couple that's going to get only certain counties are actually going to stay open late to perform the marriages. Most counties will start marriages tomorrow. But there is an 80-year-old couple who has been together for 50 years who will be married by Gavin. By San Francisco. Gavin McCloud. Gavin McCloud. That is crazy. By San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. They will be the first ones married in San Francisco at 501. Captain of the love boat is actually the mayor of San Francisco. He is? Everyone on board. So weird, huh? Meet you at the Lido deck. Eddie just did a splash right there. That move is called The Splash. Who wants some man meat? That is big news today. And will continue to be big news. It's going to have enough or it ain't. They run out. Coming to the white. Stumble off the straight white. So we were close. We were going to stumble to the finish. They can ride what they want, but we won one. Oh, God. Save that clip, please. Wow. Yeah, he sounded very winded there. Yeah. I guess he stayed out, didn't pit, and was basically running on fumes when he won. Yeah. Plus, he was smoking a cigarette at the time, which is really weird. 570-1053 is our phone number, so please give us a call. We would love to talk to you. Going out to Dale Earnhardt Jr. Text us. I've seen how they do their business. And it really is amazing. What they do, how they do it, where they do it is amazing. I saw this giant, gigantic water tank that had a big window on the side of it. I looked in there and there was a bunch of seawater in there. And they had guys in the, you know, the frog outfits in there with the tubes going up with the oxygen and the whole thing, learning how to do it. It was really cool. You want more information? Cedar. That's really cool what his voice does. You know, I'm learning how to play guitar.
I've developed such an appreciation for listening to music in a different way now because of trying to learn. I played yesterday. I felt like Brian Adams when he says, I played until my fingers bled. I played so much yesterday, and I'm starting to get the little calluses on my fingers. I love, love, love it. Some text messages that we're getting at 35253. Mikey, Tiger's come back. In the open, Tiger's comeback in the open was like Eddie's win on Friday in Battle of the Sexes. Wow. Let's see. That was the one. I said lame, Sean. That was the one winner text that we got. Here are the losers. Mikey, can I mail request on here? I think he meant, can I make a request on here? Oh, boy. Now I wonder if he means a song or not really sure because we don't play music. So by request, I just don't understand. The next one says, who can withstand the most tases, Rob or Eddie? I don't think Eddie wants to find out. I don't care. Be more than willing to do it with Rob. Well, that guy gets tased every weekend. That's true. That's right. That's very true. He wins. And then this one says, are you guys excited for Disney tomorrow? That's P1NeoB.
What does that mean? Yes. I'm really excited. Does anyone know what that means? Is there Disney something going on? Do we know if there's some Disney thing going on? I don't know any of this. I don't know any of this. Now. I'm ready now. I would say that Rob definitely was the type to be tased, although, I don't know if you guys know this, Rob took his girlfriend ice skating this weekend, and so I don't know necessarily. necessarily... Oh, look at Eddie's face. Wait a minute. Eddie's face. That is so... But it's summertime in San Diego. No, no, no, but they have an indoor ice skating rink at UTC. You know how I know you're gay? It's great. Okay. You know, you see a lot of the, you know, middle-aged couples, they go in there, they get a little coffee, and then they... Couple's gay. And then they, you know, they'll put their scarves on. I'm a man, and you a man. And so... That's cute. So, Rob, the ice skating, that is really... That's cute. Hang on a second. I'll be a tough guy. So how was it, was the ice skating? She had a blast. Her and my brother went ice skating, and I sat there and watched, trying not to be in pain.
Because he's got his teeth hurting, so he couldn't get out on the ice this time. She was trying to convince me to go out there. I'm like, they won't let me go to the gym. They don't want me doing nothing physical. And you want me to chance falling down on the ice? Aye, aye, aye. Are you crazy? Good thinking, Rob. I can't wait until he's healed up, though. I can't either. Because I'd like to get some video of that. Oh. Well, I mean, it's really cool seeing his girlfriend, like, pick him up on the ice and spin him around. Yeah, do all those lifts. Yeah, lift you. And then when he gets cold, swaddles him. Exactly. Carries him around your arms. I'd like to see Rob doing that, you know, that thing where they start to go real fast and then they do the pirouette and they spin real fast. And, you know, Rob would be putting his arms up as he does it. I'd like to see that. And it can be really gorgeous. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number, 35253. What do you make of this? You can text us, you can call us, whatever. This says, Mikey, I'm going nuts. I'm still picturing it. I'm still picturing it. That's a really nice facial. I know. The best part is he's just totally quiet. I've got to save my energy for good fights. That's right. I've got to save up.
I would love to battle you guys right now, but... Listen, I'm saving it, dude. I'm saving it for some Celtic stuff or something. Yeah, I got it. I know that's... Shut up. Shut up. I can't talk over you. I can't, though. Shut up. Shut up, Mike. Shut up with God. He's got his head to the side, resting it right now on his shoulder, and he's rolling his eyes. I can't do this. Come here, precious. I was laughing earlier, and there was some kind of suction in the back of my mouth, and it felt like I pulled something out. Oh, dude. What the hell? Please, yeah. And now it keeps like clapping in my mouth. Was that there? I don't know. Five o'clock today, buddy. You're going to get me all worked up. I'm going to come in there with a fight. I'm going to shoot pus. I'll ow you in the next Wednesday.
This isn't even fair. I know. All right, so listen to this email. It says, Mikey, I'm going nuts. My wife's family decided to come to town for a visit, which is cool. They came last weekend and stayed the week. It was cool. I took my father-in-law to the U.S. Open and had a good visit. Now, out of the blue, they decided that they want to stay another week. Whoa. Holy. Now, I just want to, okay, I'll tell you, I'll give you this thought as soon as I'm done reading the email. It says, am I wrong to think that that's too much? Not to mention, they have a little dog that's running around my house. I can't say anything to my wife because she is really happy having them here. They live in Idaho and only visit a couple of times a year. But two weeks of house guests is too much for me. I want my house back. What do you guys think that's P1 donkey? Now, I'm going to just add this to it. Okay. Just know if they stay a week and they plan for a week, if they stay an extra week and they plan for one, it's laundry time. Do some laundry. All the amenities at a hotel donkey. Hey, hon, I had some jeans in here. I don't know. They might be mixed up with dad's jeans. With dad's underwear.
With dad's underwear. Yeah, they're in there with dad's underwear. Do you have any whites? Wow is right. No. Eddie? Dude. What do you think? Okay. I am very similar. I know Steve Sky has talked about this, where any kind of change in our routines really throws us off. Yes. I don't like it. I mean, I can handle it for a little while. But it really jacks me up. Like I have a certain set routine that I do, I mean, every single day. Right. And whenever I have guests, it really jacks me up. But, you know, I mean, I can handle it and I like it and stuff like that for a little while. But if I had the mindset of, okay, a week is going to, once that week's over, back to normal, I can breathe easy. And then they go, yeah, we're going to stay another week. I would flip, especially if it wasn't my family. Like with my family, I could go.
okay, you know, I can deal with it, but if it was, oh, and there's a dog running around, that means I got to go grocery shopping again and get more food and cook and, oh, forget it. Sky? Yeah, Shia LaBeouf from to the garage. Yeah. No, yeah, I. I would not be a fan of that. You know, I have to entertain. Yeah. Well, and normally you have it like all planned out. Like, okay, they're going to be here for five days. So we'll go to the zoo on this day. So you're like out of activities by that time. And I know when my in-laws brought their little Jack Russell, you know, that was. Crazy. And you got cats? Well, yeah. So I have to keep the cats all gated upstairs and the dog downstairs and they're on both sides of the gate, like hissing and barking. By the way, if you've got experience with this, 5701053. But, I mean, as far as this dude's email goes and advice for him, there's nothing he can do. I mean, he is, you know, SOL, sorry. He can't say to his wife, hey, babe, come on.
No, because what happens after that? Then the wife has to go to the parents and go, sorry, you can't stay for another week. Plus, imagine if your family did it and she came to you and said, hey, they got to go. You're like, that's my family. To me, this is one of those deals. This is one of those deals where you just have to suck it up. Yes, you do. It's better for the relationship with your significant other. And it's better for your relationship with the family. Because if you tell her. That she needs to tell them that they have to go. They know their son or they know their daughter. And they know that their son or their daughter wouldn't normally do that. So they know where it's coming from. Even if they position it like it's coming from them. Now, if I were to give advice to the actual son or daughter without anybody having to tell them, get them out of here. You also, you got to think about. Your spouse. You've got to think about your spouse. Yes. You know, and you do. You definitely have to think about your spouse. And this goes, so this would mean you too, Eddie. So if your family came in, you'd have to go, oh, man. Absolutely. And I'm fully aware of that. Like my wife is my immediate family now. And as much as I love my folks and stuff like that, I would have to put my wife's feelings in front of theirs, which is very hard to do, but you have to do it. And to me.
You know, that's just, that's too much, man. How do you say it? How do you do it? You know, if it was me, I would have made up something on the spot. I would have been like, oh, you know, we would love to have you for another week, but we're having our house totally destroyed. That's crazy. It was built on an Indian burial ground. Oh, really? Yeah. Can we stay with you guys wherever you go when they blow the house up? Well, we're staying just on the front lawn. I don't know that you want to do that. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. 570-1053. Crazy. If you have had experience with this, with the family saying they're staying longer, 570. What about those house guests that are terrible? I know it. Eat all your food. Watch TV and you don't get to watch what you want. All hell breaks loose. Now, this is a trip, man. This tripped me out. This hit me like a ton of bricks. I go to North Coast Church now. I used to go to the Rock, but it's really far. And we live in North County now. And North Coast Church is up in North County. But we used to go to the Rock Church. And I went there to talk to Miles about something a couple of weeks ago. He's got these little sayings that he says.
And this may mean something to you. It may not mean anything to you. For me, it hit me. And I can't say who. I can't say who. But this actually came into play like three days ago. And it's this exact topic, right? So I'm in there. And I hadn't seen Miles talk forever. And he goes, you ever have somebody come stay in your house and you don't want them there? He goes, you ever have that? And like they come in and you're thinking, I don't want them here. He goes. You ever stop to think it's not your house, it's God's? And he goes, and he's got this timing, so I'm not going to be able to say it like he did. He goes, you don't believe me? Tell God it's not his house, it's yours. And he got real quiet. And I was like, it was like I got air knocked out of me. He says, tell God it's your house, not his. Because he gave me all the dough to be able, he put me in the position. You know, he could take it away at any time. Now, again, this is for me. This is how I thought of it. So I'm thinking to myself, wow, you know, he's really right there.
I can't tell you who got this phone call. Somebody that wants to come visit. And it's that. And I'm like, I don't know how long. I don't know how long it could be. I don't know. But it wasn't even given the how long. I don't know. No. But I'm sitting there thinking to myself, what am I going to do now? I guess I just got to, you know, sack it up. Got to sack it up. But it's, I'm telling you, man. This house guest thing, especially now for me, the reason I mentioned the laundry thing is because that would be my like Achilles heel. I'd want to do a load of laundry. There'd be laundry in there. My brother, Steve, when he comes to visit, he has a radar for exactly the snacks I like. That's the worst. And they're gone. That's the worst. Like when you're coming home from work going, you know what? I'm going to have this for lunch. Open the cupboard. Not there. You can't say. You can't go. You can't go. Where is my Cheez-Its? You can't say that. First of all, you know where your Cheez-Its are. They're in your brother's belly. No. But what do you do if they say, yeah, we'd like to stay one extra week? You know, because usually by two days before the first week is up, you're ready. Oh, my gosh. Yes, you are. Actually, maybe more than that. Maybe more than that. Wow.
Please. It could be. I don't like people in my business. I don't care. Second hour? Second hour? Hey, sometimes, man. Actually, the day before they even arrive. If we're being totally honest. P1 Seabreeze. Hey, Mikey. Good morning. What's up, dude? Hey, so this past Christmas, I had my knee replaced in November. So my in-laws live in Michigan, and they wanted to come out at Christmas time. So I said to you. That's fine, you know, no big deal. And my wife said, well, can they stay with us for two weeks? And I'm like, oh, all right, no problem. So they came out two weeks before Christmas, and I'm counting down the days until the day after Christmas that they can leave. And Christmas comes, no packing yet, stuff still in their room and everything like that. And the day after Christmas, I'm in the kitchen, and I hear my wife's mom come in and say, well, we'd like to stay another month. What? Come on. A month. That's crazy. A month. And I just, I said no. I said no. No. I said the deal was two weeks. You guys stayed two weeks. You guys got to go. A month. So needless to say, I haven't spoken to them since they left. They packed up right away and left. Awkward. How could they, that's so imposing. Yeah, that's.
It is. It is. Why don't they just pay rent? Yeah, seriously. Well, the deal is that they have Corvettes. They put them in shows. They want to store their Corvette in our garage after they left. No. Here's what I would say as me. If it were my wife's relatives that came into town, I would say, what do you want? And if she said, I don't want them here for another blah, blah, blah, I can't do it. Then I would say, honey. Because Eddie's right. That's your immediate person. It's your husband or your wife. What do you want? Now, I wouldn't like it. But if she said, I want him to stay, I would start biting the inside of my lip and I would go, sure, honey, let's have him stay. But that's what, you know what I mean? The deal is, Mikey, she wanted him to go, too, but she didn't want to say anything to him. So I had to take the bullet, and I took the bullet, and I don't care. You know, I mean, she didn't want him to stay to begin with. And did she say to you, will you tell them to go? Nah, she said that I said it in a harsh way. She was glad. No, I know, I know. But did she ask you to do the dirty work, or did you volunteer?
No, you know what? I volunteered. She was going to, you know, let me say it like this. She said, let me talk it over with Chad. She goes, let me talk it over with Chad. Who's Chad? That's me. That's me. Oh, okay. She said to her parents, let me talk it over with Chad. Okay. So right away, it was put on me because they know the answer is going to be no. No. So now they know. A month. A month. That's crazy. A month. Dude, you did the right thing, man. Yeah. Wow. All right, well, have a good day. All right, brother. I think he did the right thing, too. His wife wanted it as well. That's excessive, man. That is a long time. I mean, there was probably a more tactful way to go about it than probably what he did, but still, come on. Oh, man. A month. That's it? Who would like to play the Dumb Chick Challenge? What I mean by that is that you pick either Sky, Ashley, or Boston Rob to represent you in the Dumb Chick Challenge. Yes. since that's what we're going to do next. 570-1053. Hello? Who's the man? Uh, Mikey? Hello? Never called in before, but I love your show, and you guys rock. Oh, that's awesome. Hey, check this out.

Back in the 1800s, Rocky Mountain miners celebrated with get-togethers called banquets. Their beer, Coors. They called it Banquet Beer. It was brewed one way with only Rocky Mountain water and only the best high country barley for that smooth, full-flavored taste. 135 years later, that still holds true. Other beers have folded their tents, moved along. Banquet. The next time you're having a get-together, make the same call generations have made since 1873. Just say, give me a banquet, drive drunk. Now back to the Michael featuring Mikey. I consider myself a pretty quick guy with a pretty large degree of intelligence, but I messed a lot of it up. Eddie. I hate killer whales. Scott. The Incredible Hulk was the number one movie this weekend, making $54.5 million. Hulk smash! Is that what he says when he does stuff? Oh, yeah. You know it, baby. He's upset. He's upset. Tiger Woods is incredible. He nailed his putt on the 18th hole yesterday to force an 18-hole playoff. Today with Rocco Mediate, Tiger talks about his round yesterday. And the putt. Now, it looked to us like maybe it would start breaking left a little bit and start straightening up a little around the hole. Is that close? What's that? Is that 50? Yeah. Oh, okay. That's not it, though, right? No, I think that was the interviewer. Oh, okay.
Let's hear it again. Let's hear it again. And the putt. Now, it looked to us like maybe it would start breaking left a little bit from the start, straighten up a little around the hole. Is that close? Well, it was a little wobbly down there. That ground was a little bouncy. So I was just kind of, I played probably about two and a half balls outside the right. I said just to stay committed to that and just make a pure stroke because once it starts rolling down there, it's kind of like playing Plinko. You don't know what's going to happen, but only I can control is my stroke. Now, I have to ask you about the knee. It seemed like it bothered you early on, and then it seemed like it didn't bother you as much as the round progressed. Different from other days. True or not true? True. It took some things to kind of relieve that. And adrenaline, maybe? That helps, too. I wonder what he took. What are the things he took? What would he take? Welcome back to the show. We are going to check in with Eric and Ruth next hour. Eric and Ruth. Eric was the single dad. Ruth was a 24-year-old girl that he got set up on a date with. We almost, my wife and I, almost said hi to them because we were walking by Ducini's at 10.15. And so we almost, but I said, I don't think they're here anymore. I don't think they'd be here at 10.15. Now, I know that on a date, on a first date like that, I would think that you would be very nervous and that might relax you.
It would me. Yeah. It would relax me. To have a friendly face. Yeah, to have something to break up maybe. And even if things are going great and it's really awesome, that's still kind of a cool thing. But we didn't. Why does the Incredible Hulk, when he becomes the Incredible Hulk, lose proper grammar? That is my question. Well, he's so filled with rage, Mike, that his brain isn't working properly. And so there are very few words that he can actually verbalize. He's so mad. Well, why doesn't somebody just, like, say to him, hey, incredible, this is either hurt, sadness, or fear. You know, you just kind of get him in touch with that. And then he's, you know. You know, Sean liked the Incredible Hulk, too. You went and saw it, Johnny? I sure did. Oh, well, Eddie, he liked it so much. Yeah, talk about it. That he sat in his chair and stayed there and watched it again when it ended. I don't blame him. I thought about it. You don't blame him? I thought about it. You did that. That is stealing, Sean. If I didn't have my wife with you, I would have done it. Really? Yeah. I want to watch it again right now. Why? What is great? This is great.
Great action, great story, great acting. I mean, Ed Norton, give me a break. That's great. And it just flowed really well. I mean, the Hulk, I don't think he looks that great on TV. I agreed with you. I didn't think he looked that good on the commercials for the movie on TV. But on the big screen, he looked great. I thought it was awesome. Did Sky go with you? No, I went to the premiere. She went to the premiere. Oh, that's right. That's right. That's right. I forgot. Yeah, me and Scott hit the movies on yesterday. Yeah. What? A little brunch, a little movie, you know. Our usual Sunday. Yeah, date. Sunday date. You guys still had to date? Yeah. And it was movie date time? Yeah. You know, it was too hot for a picnic. Oh, yeah. Why don't we do this then? No, come on. It'll be fun. It'll be fun this time. No, no, no. Exercise. Come on. Here's how it works. It's Sky Ashley from Boston Rob. Oh, look at it. Rob is holding on to his cheek. Oh, the poor guy. Guy's in pain. You probably shouldn't do this today because he's not feeling well. No, I think this is just the medicine he needs. Bring your spirits up. Spirits.
5701053. Pick your horse. Who do you want? Sky, Ashley, or Boston Rob? The object of the game is to get to five points, and they do that by selecting one, two, and three-point questions. Beautiful. That's right. This is really great. So, they can do it by answering two questions. They can win the game. Oh, you make it easy. You could take a three-pointer. You make it sound so easy. And then you can take a two-pointer. Game over. You won. It's not that easy, P1s. Don't listen to him. It's really hard. It's really easy. It's not. It's easy. So let's have people pick. P1 Renegade. How you doing, man? Good, dude. Who do you want? I want B-Rock. Probably not the best choice. He's struggling. Not the best choice. Hang on. P1 Al. I'm going for Sky. What up, Al? Duh.
Duh. She's won now about 13 out of the last 15. Wow, that's true. She's the best choice. Yeah, hang on the line. Thank you. P1 tie? Yes. You get Ashley. Can you hang on? This is her day. Ashley won about a year ago. This is her day. Today she will win. Today is her day. I predict it. Today is the day. I'm feeling good today, guys. You're looking smart. You're looking smart. I feel smart. That's so weird that you say that. That's right. It is weird. She looks cute today. She's got on a little sweater. You're smart. A little white sweater. Yeah. And she's got a big smile. She's ready to go. Cardigan. She's got a cardigan. Great. Thank you. Great band. Saw them at Lilith Fair. Oh, I'll scare you. Is that true, Mike? No, it's a joke. I actually saw it at a lesbian convention that I went to when I used to be a woman. But anyway. But anyway. But I digress. I digress. I digress. So. Well, Eddie, who do we start with this week? Got the Whizzer. Ah, the Rizzenator. Boston Rizzle. All right, Rob. Beat my Izzle. Come on. How are you going to do this? Are you going to go easy and take a one-pointer, or are you going to go a little tougher, take a three-pointer? I know you won't take a two. It's just not your style. Not my style. No. I want a three. All right. Oh, no. I got no problem with that. I'll give you a three-pointer. Rob, he's crazy. I want to end the game. You're injured.
How many points did I have to? We haven't even started. Sorry, I drifted in and out a little bit there. Rob, The Call of the Wild was written by which author? Oh. Oh. Oh, no. Oh, no. Why did I go to Harvard? I know this, but right now it's like champagne. No, no, no. Shut your mouth. You shut your mouth. Shut your mouth. I got a short fuse today. What does AWOL stand for, Rob? What are you doing? The Call of the Wild. How many meds are you taking? I know it. So what do I got to answer? Oh, no. I'm confused now. Who wrote the Call of the Wild? Okay. Back to this. There's a few names coming in me. A.C. Freely. No, Rob, that's the guitar player for Kiss. Hit mine. I'm making a joke because Ace Freely would not forget it. Ace Freely. So let's eliminate that. Is there a Hugh something? Hugh Jack? Hugh Jackman? Yes, Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman is correct. No, it's not. No, it must be.
AC Human. I love him so much. Is that your final? Is that your final? It's got to be Mike. It's very close. That's incorrect, Rob. What is it? It was Jack London, Rob. Oh, yeah, yeah. Come on. Jack London. I had a Jack London too. Jack Human. Sky's up next and she has a... She has a system. Not today, though, Mike. I want the AWOL question. You can. Change it up. You can, but you have to guess what pointer that was. You can tell me what pointer it was, then I'll give it to you. You don't know the answer to that. I do. I do. I do know the answer. I don't know the answer. Was that a one-pointer, a two-pointer, or a three-pointer, Sky? Oh, gosh. See, my gut says it's a three-pointer because that's the one he had just asked Rob, so I would think he'd still have that piece of paper out. But it seems a little bit too easy to be a three-pointer. Caution to the win, Mike. Three points. You were correct, Skye. You were correct. It was a three-pointer. And if you could answer it, I'll give you three points. Okay, now I'm doubting myself. Hold on. What does AWOL stand for? Absent without official leave. You were correct, Skye. Skye's got the three-pointer.
Now what is he going to do? It's been put on the board. I know. Skye, you've changed your system. Completely thrown off. Well, no. That was just. You've changed your system. This is a one-time thing, guys. Skye's system is. It's all messed up now. She goes 2.2.1 point. You better go 3-1-1 now. Oh, no. Yeah. What is he doing? I'm telling you. It may not be a bad idea, Eddie. All right. Ashley is looking at Eddie. She wants advice. Is she okay? That is not a good sign. That is not a good sign. He was telling me to go twos. We're going to go twos today. And I'm like, okay. And so now just now I'm like, okay, I'm like, what now, Eddie? Because she just got the three. Right. And he's like, whatever. Yeah. It doesn't make me scared. It doesn't matter. Ash, you can do this. You need a coach that cares. Hey, listen. Ash gets three points. It's been a year. Fire me. I mean, I'm the worst coach ever. Today may be your day. Who cares? Well, I would personally like to take the three. Oh, wow. Get it, girl. Get it, get it, get it. Wow, Ashley. So in your face. Whose face? Should have warmed up. My base coach's face. Ashley, who is the former underboss to John Gotti that turned FBI informant leading to Gotti's downfall? Yep, in my face. Who was that guy? What is he talking about? Oh, no. She looks like she's laughing hysterically.
That sounds like the laugh of a gal who may not know the answer to that one. Just skip. Stupid question. The former underboss to John Gotti that turned FBI informant leading to John Gotti's downfall. Who was that guy? So who basically threw John Gotti under the bus? That is correct. Who threw John Gotti under the bus? What was that guy's name? Yeah, it would be so awesome if I knew who John Gotti was. Oh, yeah. I would for sure know this. That is not good. That is not going to lead to a correct answer. It's like, my dad's in the FBI, so you'd think I know this. My dad probably caught him. Yeah. You'd think this is right up my alley. He ate these guys for lunch. My dad's a rat. That's right. Wait. My dad's best. Um, I don't know. I don't know any of this. I'm sorry. I really got nothing. It was Sammy the Bull Gravano. Oh. Are you speaking English? That's a real person. My dog is named that. Sammy. Sammy. Sammy the Ugly Dog. That's right. That's her name. Sammy the Obese. Not very attractive. Kind of smelly.
Sammy, the severe underbite. Yeah, she does have an underbite and she smells. What does she smell? Does she smell? Really bad. Why does she have this animal? I know, dude. It's like Satan spawned. Yeah, do you give her a bath? She's got that weird underbite that makes you so uncomfortable when you see her. It's like, ugh. Well, first of all, she smells because she has really bad... Oh, gross. Ash, what do you feed her? Tell me the dog food you eat. What do you feed her? Oh, I'm crying. What do you feed her? Well, I feed her Innova reduced fat food, which is like very organic, natural, healthy. She's so fat, though. I know. That's why I have her on reduced fat food. Did you just switch her? She's been on reduced fat food for at least three months. Yeah, she was on bacon, an all-bacon diet. She's been on reduced fat food for at least three months, Mike. She's so fat, though. She's so fat. And then I mix a little bit of Evo wet food. Really? Yeah, like a scoop full. It's supposed to help her digest better, but I mean...
I don't think it's working. Because she has really bad gas. And then also, like, I haven't groomed her in, like, three months. So, like, that's why she smells good. Ashley. You are the worst. Give her a bath. Worst owner ever. I'm going to groom her this weekend because she's going to a doggy daycare because I'm going back home for my brother. Get her some Mylanta, will you? So she'll get washed by them. Spray her down. Some Beano. All right, Rob. Spray her down. Yeah, take her to the car wash. Oh, my gosh. All right, Rob. Rob is so serious today. He's not in the mood. You're not smart today. Go lower. Come on. What do you want, Rob? A one, two, or three-pointer? Rob, do it. Sky's got three. You can do it. Two, two, one. Steal her strategy. He's looking at Sky right now like he wants to bite her face off. That's really good luck. I'm going to go two. You had a boy. Eddie's convinced. All right. Steal her. I think it's a bad choice. Don't give me none of that science question stuff. All right, Rob. What's the measurement of speed? Ah, you kidding me? Wait a second. You haven't heard this yet. Wait a minute. You'll know this. What is the measurement of speed? Rob, what is the measurement of speed that a boat travels? Oh, I do know this one. I know this one, Mike. Come on, you want to get a yacht? Yeah, knots. That's correct, Rob. Look at this guy. I'm on a board. Look at this guy.
All right, here we go. Thank you, Mike. Did I win a Vicodin? Please. All right, Skye. Hi. Are you going to end this with a two-point question? Skye, you've gone off your system. I have. Skye wins all the time, but she wins with a system. She wins by going two point, two point, one point. But this time she's gotten three points. All messed up now. So what will she do? Will she take a two-pointer or will she take a one-pointer? Skye. I think I'm going to try it too. Oh, no. Oh, my goodness. She's got this. Oh, no. No. Skye, who is the main female character in Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind? Skye has both hands covering her mouth. What an easy question for you. That's so simple. She's got it. I think it might be in there. She's going, oh, she's clenching her fist. Oh, now she's a little bit. Now she's saying in her head, is that right? Is that not right? Is that? Is it? Is it Queen Latifah? She's got both fists up to her temples. Hands in praying position. Squinting. Scarlet. Yes. Eddie says we need more. Because the answer is the name. Which is Scarlet. Well.
It's not the whole name. If you know that, how do you not know the rest? How do you not know the rest? But I do. You do not. Skye, I'll tell you what I'm going to do. Well, it's not Scarlett Johansson. It's not Scarlett Johansson. I'm going to give you a point for that because you're half right. It's Scarlett O'Hara. I'm going to give you a point. I'm going to give you a point. Let me get this straight. Go ahead. She heard the three-point question, knew she knew it, and because you guessed three-point, you gave it to her. Then you just gave her half of a one-point because she got the first name right. She deserved it. No. That's interesting. She deserved it. She's got four points. You're one point away, Skye. No offense, Skye. Thank you. Mike's my friend today. Very interesting the way he's... Mike is my friend. Yeah. Ash, are you going to do one, two... Or three points. She's putting her coffee up in the air. Wait, real quick. What does it even matter at this point? Was it O'Hara or O'Hara? What did you say? Scarlett O'Hara. O'Hara. Okay, I got to thank that. Can we preview a three-pointer like Sky got? Seriously. Oh, I'd like to do that, too. Well, only if I know it, though, and then I'll guarantee three points. If she hadn't gotten it, if she hadn't gotten what it was...
working with you for eight years. You don't think that she knows? Obviously, you were looking at the same three points. Man, we got some points. Like, duh. Don't hate the player. Thank you, Mike. Hate Rob. Hate the other players. Say Rob. Whatever, I'm scoring a three and taking your time to die. Mike just wants to give CPR to her, that's why. All right. Come on. Please help me find that joke. Please. Good job. He's kicking it in there. He's kicking it in there. Since it happened. Works every time. That was really smooth. Ash? I'll take a, I don't, two? You want a two? Two. You sure? Why not? Ashley, what continent is Stonehenge located? Oh. Oh. Okay, she just gave a look like, Stonehenge. What is Stonehenge? Stonehenge. You got this. Stonehenge. Oh, that's great. Stonehenge. So you said what continent? Yes.
So if I say the first half of the continent, does that mean I get half a point? Yes. It does, actually. It actually does. She's bitter. She's bitter. But I'm saying yes. You're not going to lie. I'm saying yes. In fact, I'll double it. I'll double it. I'm making it. I will double it. If you even get half of it, I'll double it. You're crazy. I'm for real. I'm not messing with you. What continent is Stonehenge located? Okay. Know what a continent is. We got this, Eddie. We for sure know what a continent is. Australia's out. United States out. Oregon out. Is it Bonghenge? And Artica's out. I'm going to go Europe. You are correct. Very good. Holy cow. Yes. Out. That was awesome, Ash. Ash. Thank you. Rob, look to you. Yes. Holy cow. That was killer. I felt good. Rob, wake up. Rob was sleeping right there. Sorry, Rob was asleep right there. Rob fell asleep. Where is Rob? Rob, wake up. Good morning. Rob, what would you like? A one, two.
Or three-point question. Well, why don't you run down the threes and see what I can work with. All right. Whatever. Whatever. Or maybe you could take a two because they're obviously worth four today. Oh! Well, I have four points because I said Hugh Jackman in the first question and it was Jack London. I've been to London once, so that was actually a six-point question. That's amazing. I've already won. I already won. Oh, congrats. Well, thank you. Don't tell Mike, though. Whatever. What do you want? Three-pointer. All right, fine. Look at this guy. Hey, guys. Now, Rob, if you get this right, I'll deduct eight points, all right? Rob's trying to win the old-fashioned way. Playing. Right. Rob? Yes. Who was the second? And first American in space. Mike. Instant smile. Now he's holding his gums. Don't smile. Read it to me one more time. Here we go. Rob, who was the second person and first American in space? I thought it was a monkey.
Didn't they used to shoot monkeys up in space? He said person. Was it bubbles? Monkeys are practically people. Thank you. You're welcome. You know what I'm talking about. That's all you studied at SDSU. That's Ashley. That was her presentation. Senior thesis. Trying to do that for 45 minutes to graduate. Oh, my gosh. I'm helping you out. That is not cool, dude. I'm lying. I'm saying you graduated. That's the ibuprofen talking, Rob. I have no idea. You don't? In space total or on the moon? All right, Rob. Come on, dude.
Give me a name. Like, maybe were they just on an airliner that maybe went up far enough to equal space? You're the worst. You give me the first name, I'll do the last. You've been helping everybody. Whatever. All right, fine, I'll do that. I'll do it. This is for the win. I'll do it. This is awesome. I'll give him the first name if he can come up with the last name. I love this game. I'll give him the first name if he can come up with the last name. Okay. Better not be Joe. The only island I know is Ginsberg, but he's a poet. Iverson. Yeah. Yes, I said Alan Iverson, Mike. Alan Fawson's project. Mike, it was Alan Fawson's project, right? Five seconds, Rob. Yeah, I'm going to have to go with Alan's spaceship. No, that's not right. I'm going to give him half a point for that. That's not right. All right, that's the last screwing around with this. No, Mike, I love this game. No more screwing around.
What was it? It was Alan Shepard. I never had it. Never had it. Sky. Yeah, Mike. You can do this. I need one. You just need a one-pointer to wrap it up. They're tough sometimes. Are you ready? They're tough sometimes, Eddie. Well. They're so easy. They're hard. They're so easy. They're hard. They never know. It's like reverse psychology. Not really. It can be. Sky. Yeah. Collectively. Oh, no. Pavarotti, Domingo, and Carreras are better known as what singing trio? The three tenors. You are correct. Came very close. I helped all of you one way or another. Tried to. P1 Al. Yes, sir. Sky won for you. That's my girl. Yeah. Eddie, what did Al win? We got those Disneyland tickets for him. Sweet. Hang on the line, brother, all right?
Will do. Hang on a second. We're going to check in with Eric and Ruth. They went on the date on Friday night. Awesome. Find out how they did. We're also going to be doing next hour. The U.S. scores eight goals against Barbados in their World Cup qualifying match. U.S. Open will start back up less than an hour. Tiger and Rocco Mediate. Rocco Mediate. So, Eddie, will they basically golf together? Is that how it'll happen? Yeah. They just golf together. Yep. I wonder if they, because I don't know anything about golf. Like, when you're in that kind of a situation, do you have conversation or do you not really want to talk to the person? Generally not. You know, I mean, Rocco's kind of a talker, but, you know, they have caddies and they're generally talking about their shots and stuff like that. Do caddy give advice and stuff? Like, really? Yes. And they're, like, real important. Like, you really take the caddy's advice into... Yeah, it's like having another set of eyes. You know, a guy can see things or, you know, tell you something about that hole. You know, they all carry these little books. And they have little notes about each of the holes. And they say, you know, this hole, if you're hitting from the left side, you want to hit it over here and things like that. And your caddy is the one that's going to tell you what club to hit and stuff like that. Cool. Let's see. The Bonnaroo Festival. Did it happen? Yep. Is it over? Yep. What happened?
So Friday night, Chris Rock performed. Also Friday night, Metallica performed. They said Metallica did mostly material from their old albums, which was cool. Saturday night, Pearl Jam performed. They did a three-hour set, but it also included a lot of talk from, a lot of political talk from Eddie Vedder. Really? And then finally, Kanye West upset quite a few people when he didn't start his show until two hours. He had, and check this out, so his show started at 4 a.m. Sunday morning. Come on. Oh, that's ridiculous. George Bush doesn't care about black people. I guess he was supposed to go on set on stage at 2 a.m. That was like his scheduled time. 2 a.m.? Yeah, you know, weekend festivals. That's crazy. All through the night, but, and so, you know, before he finally took the stage around 4 a.m., the crowd started chanting, Kanye sucks. Oh. They're probably grumpy. Yeah, but according to sources, it wasn't even Kanye's fault. It was like technical difficulties. Technical difficulties. That's what they say, Mike. 5701053. We do this segment called Ask Mikey. Do not get into the industry. I'm no psychologist. What you're asking for right now is the health and well-being of your daughter. Pray about it. It's time. But we all have a job to do. To ask Mikey. This is Mike.
I love Ask Mikey because I love giving advice. I love hearing about relationships, and I love talking about relationships. Man, do I love that stuff. No, I didn't graduate from high school even. I read a lot. I really love psychology, and it's interesting to me. So I like to hear what people got and try to make it interesting for everybody else to listen to. So call us, 570-1053, or you can text us, too. I mean, if you want to do it anonymously or whatever, just text us at 35253. P1 Matt is on the line. Hey, Matt. Hey, Matt. His name is Matt. Yes, it is. Hey, Matt. Hey, what's up, dude? Oh, buddy, I got a major problem. My son has a real close relationship with my brother-in-law, who's my sister's wife. My sister's my wife's brother, excuse me. And he's been going over there quite a bit. They live about a half hour away from us. And we just found out that he's been offering my son marijuana. And I wanted to know what to do. Yeah, that is tough. First of all, what does your wife say? My wife, she's curious about it. But she comes from one of those families that they really stick to their family. And they want to believe everything that my little brother has to say about it.
And I just, I come from the real world like you, Mike, and I can't believe what he's telling us. What is he telling you? He tells us that he tried it, not my son, but her little brother tells us he tried it four times, and then I have a private conversation with my son, and he says, Dad, he's been doing it for a year, and he's been on me about it, and this and that and the other thing, and, you know, I just don't have any reason not to believe my son. strange thing about his answer is the, I've tried it four times. I mean, listen, that's, that's as bad as saying it. I tried it a hundred times. There's really no difference. It means, well, yeah, I tried it the first time and I liked it enough to try it again and then again and then again. So they caught him with a pipe and with a whatever. And I said, well, four times. I remember when I experimented, I used other people's equipment. I didn't, I didn't have my own. Right, right, right. Sky, you got a question? Yeah, I was just wondering, what are their ages? What's your brother-in-law's age and what's your son's age? My brother-in-law is 17. My in-laws had him late in life. And my son is 13. So they're four years apart. My son really looks up to them. You know, they fish and they hunt and they hang out together. And, you know, it used to never be a problem. And now I just I feel I don't want to have anything to do with him until, you know, he won't come to me and talk to me because.
Like I said, I'm from the world of I know what's going on, and I don't want to hear his lies about it. Well, that's a little bit of a problem, too, in my estimation. He's got to feel like he can talk to you. So there's some bridges to mend in that regard for you. You've got to mend some bridges with that kid because he feels like he can't tell you. And that's the reason that he's lying, and that's the reason that he's hiding it from you. Now, it's a sticky situation because this is your wife's brother. Yeah. How old is your wife? My wife's 33. Okay. So, wow, they really had a late kid, didn't they? Yeah, they really did. Okay. And how old are his parents, your in-laws? My mother-in-law, she's only 58, but my father-in-law is 63, I believe. Okay. What's their take? They believe the four times. They believe the, you know, they want to believe everything that their son's telling them. The interesting thing is, like I said, I would love to ask the in-laws, why is four times different than a hundred? Right. And they were very upset when they found out that he had offered it to my boy. And, you know, they didn't know what to say about that. And they were astonished and couldn't believe that he would disrespect us that way. Right.
But at the same time, you know, you know, he's been disrespecting his whole family in that manner. And, you know, like I said, the reason he won't talk to me, he's called my wife and tried to apologize to her. But she buys what he has to say. And I just want to hear the truth, you know. Well, the problem is a couple of problems. One problem is, is that the kid has been made to feel like he can't be honest, which is a problem. You know, he's been made to feel like he can't be honest. And so the best you can, I would try to. mend that bridge but then the second problem is is that okay so we know why he lies but the fact is is that he lies and so if you make the decision and the choice to have your kid your 13 year old around him uh first of all now your kid is under the influence of a liar and he's also under the influence of a drug user and so it's to me It's just irresponsible to allow your 13-year-old to continue to hang out with the 17-year-old. And you can explain to everybody that would have an issue. If your wife had an issue or if your in-laws had an issue or if the 17-year-old had an issue. You can explain to everybody. You can say, hey, listen, this doesn't stoke me out. I'm not real super happy about this. I loved that they got to hang out with each other.
I know two things. One, weed was offered to my kid. And two, the answer that was given is, I've done it four times. And neither of those are good enough for me. And so, you know, we got to, something different has to happen. Yeah, you see, we get camping trips planned for the summer and all kinds of things that are just, you know, and I'm ready to cancel them all. My wife wants to, you know, rethink things because he called and apologized to her. But I prefer just to. hang away from the kid for a while until he can come to his senses and tell the truth. I think that's a great idea. Eddie and Sky, what do you guys think? I think it's real important, I agree with you, to have a conversation with the kid, with the 17-year-old, and really try and get to the heart of what's going on and, you know, start conversations going again and really explain to this kid, like, hey, I want you to be able to hang out with my 13-year-old, but you're a role model for him. You're somebody that he's going to look up to, and you're not going to be able to hang out with him if you're going to continue with this kind of behavior. And hopefully that will kind of show him the error in his ways, and maybe he'll kind of change his behavior. Skye, what do you think? Yeah, I agree with Eddie. You need to clarify the relationship because it kind of sounds like your brother-in-law, the 17-year-old, kind of started to see your son as a friend.
And he's not. He's a family member. He's a role model. And, you know, I think any time that you get, you know, a 13-year-old hanging out with a 17-, 18-year-old as friends, there's going to be trouble. The 13-year-old is going to be encouraged to grow up too quickly. So, you know, I agree with not letting them hang out. If it was me, I would still let them hang out together supervised as far as family camping trips, places where you're going to be and they're going to be under your watch. But as far as them hanging out solo, yeah, they need to cool that for a while, in my opinion. Hey, man, I appreciate the phone call, Matt. Hey, thank you. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. Matt. P1 Jimmy is on the line. Matt. Jimmy, are you there? How you doing? Good, man. What's up? I'm calling in because I've been dating. my girlfriend for about a year and a half now. And every couple months, she seems to basically question our relationship. I mean, we have a good relationship whenever she's not questioning it. There's no reason for it. How old are you? 25. How old is she? 23. And in terms of what you know about her, do you know about, have you guys ever discussed her older relationships with guys before you?
She's never had a long – this is the longest relationship that she's ever been in. This is the most, well, I guess, committed relationship she's ever been in also. Do you know what is – have you noticed – since you've noticed a pattern of every couple of months she decides that, you know, she questions whether you guys should be together. So it's become a pattern that you've observed, right? Yes. And is there anything – or anything particular you can think of that precipitates that conversation that she has with you? Maybe a little stress rises on her part. And can you be a little bit more specific? Can you tell me a little bit about what that kind of stress is? Well, it's not really financial stress. It's just stress of everyday life, trying to get her job tasks done. And, you know, her boss has been riding her a lot. How about when it comes to you? When it comes to you, is there anything that you see that goes on in terms of your relationship with her that then this conversation comes up? Not really, to be honest with you. I mean, I try to be there for her constantly. I'm not the type of guy that doesn't call for a few days or, you know, who ignores her completely. I really am there for her constantly.
And usually she's right there for me too. But like I said, every couple months for about a week or maybe even two weeks, she kind of drifts off and questions whether or not we should be together. Yeah. Now, I've talked about this thing before. My brother turned me on to this book. It's called He's Scared, She's Scared. It's about the fear of intimacy. And I usually, whenever I hear stuff like that, because it's been me too, but when I hear stuff like that, I usually go, that's usually what it is, especially that they haven't had a long-term relationship in the past. When they haven't had a long-term relationship in the past, it means that it's not just a pattern that you're experiencing within the relationship with her now. It's something that she's experienced all leading up to this point. We probably lost it. He probably was in a bad cell or whatever. But it's usually a pattern. It's something that develops for whatever reason, and it stays in the relationship. And it goes from relationship to relationship to relationship. You do it the same way. In terms of this guy that just called, you just have to decide, well, am I going to fix her? You're probably not going to fix her.
The best thing you can do is tell her how it makes you feel whenever she does this thing. And then it'd be up to her whether or not she wants to figure it out and make it so that she's not splitting every couple of months or wanting to split every couple of months. Something's making her want to split. And I don't necessarily think it's him, the guy that called in. I don't think it's something he's doing per se. I think it's something in her that triggers it. Something goes on in their relationship. Or like he said, the stress gets to a certain level. And when it does, she wants to bail. So there's something that's making that happen. Now, the question for me, if I was talking to a relative of mine, I would say, if that's happening now, and you guys are boyfriend and girlfriend, what happens when you're married? What happens then? Eddie, what do you think? I agree with you 100%. And just from his perspective, I mean, for me, like, You've got to be happy with yourself, too. You've got to do what's right for yourself. And do you really want to be with somebody that every couple of weeks wants to not be with you? Like, that sucks, man. I want to be with somebody who...
wants to be with me as much as I want to be with them. I mean, that's what love is to me. And that's not, it just doesn't sound like that. That sounds terrible. I would hate to be in that situation. What do you think, Skye? Yeah, I totally agree with what Eddie just said. That's what I was thinking. You know, maybe one or two times you can chalk it up to like kind of cold feed, a new relationship. But after time and time again, no, you want to be with somebody who's like dying to be with you, not somebody who's not quite sure. Absolutely. P1, Sarah. You're our last call. How are you? So here's the deal. So I've never, I'm 24. I've never been in a long-term relationship. My longest relationship is six months. Keep in mind, I got sober like a year ago. I was drinking a lot. But it's like the guys I meet are really crappy or they're extremely opposite and like too nice and clingy. And we just met and you're going to call me like two times a day. I don't know what the deal is. I mean, when you were talking about the book, I kind of related to it, but I don't know. There's a couple of things. One thing that I would love for you to do, Sarah, is write me off the air an email because there's some stuff that I would talk to you about but that I can't discuss on the radio. Okay. That have to do with your situation and it has to do with the addiction stuff.
Okay. I can't really talk about on the radio. Okay. But if you write me an email off the air, then I can discuss it with you. Awesome. But this is going to be a real big key for you. You say that you go out with these guys and that after a little while they become clingy and you get sort of like turned off by it. Yeah. This is the thing that I want to remind you. You are attracted to these men. There's something. That's making you attracted to the very thing that you don't like. And when you talk to somebody in a room for five minutes. You can pick out the people that something inside of you responds to. You know it right away. Something in their voice. Something in the way they say something. Something in the. We are programmed to like something. You can put me in a room.
With 100 alcoholics, and I can instantly go to the ones that are alcoholics. I know who they are without saying to them. And then later I find out, and I go, oh, wow, that's really. It's something that we respond to in other people. Now, I'm not saying that that's what you're responding to. I mean, it could be that my. Can I tell you the last situation? Hang on just a second. It could be something like nurturing. extremely giving, that you're attracted to somebody that is very shy. You could be attracted to, and there are things that we instinctively are drawn to. And so you're choosing the same kind of guy. And there's something in them that you're attracted to. And then they turn out to be the very thing that you're not wanting. Really quickly, go ahead. You can tell me about the last one. Okay. The guy in my building, my apartment building, he seemed cool. He came over, introduced himself, and he moved in. And we hung out, and he kept talking about, he's my age, he's a Marine. And he kept talking about his ex-wife and this and that. And I was just like, oh, my God, I'm not a therapist. You know what I mean? It's just like, I want to meet a normal, chill guy. You have to become a normal, chill girl, and then you will meet a normal, chill guy. Write me an email. Can you do that?
Yeah, I'll do that. Can you write me an email? Yeah. All right, cool. All right. That's Ask Mikey. I love that stuff. I can dive into that and get into that for an hour. Right. Yeah. Welcome back to the Mikey Show. Our phone number, 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. And so on Friday, we did this thing called Single Dad Setup. We set up a single dad with a girl, and he brought his kid in here. His kid was 10. Stone. Stone. Stone. Stone. Yeah, dude. Yeah. He brought Stone in, and he let Stone actually, he talked to three girls, and he let Stone make the final decision. Stone chose Ruth.
And so they went out to Dusini's downtown, and we got them both on the line right now. Let's see. Oh, my gosh. Eric, are you there? I'm here, Mikey. How are you? I'm good, man. Hang on just a second. Let me get Ruth on the line. Ruth, are you there? I'm here. So were you guys at Dusini's on Friday night at 10, 15 p.m., or no? Had you already left? 15, we were still there. Really? Yeah. You know, we almost, were you guys upstairs or downstairs? You know, we were probably just finishing dinner and then we went upstairs. Okay. Because, you know, my wife and I were walking by and we almost stopped in and said hi. That would have been cool. We were there. Yeah, we thought you may have already been gone. But Ruth is on the line. Eric is on the line. And what I would like to do is I would like to get each of their takes. Yes. On how the date went. So I actually would like to start with Ruth. Whoa. Yes. Can you describe the date to me? We had a great time. Eric set up a little bit late. Uh-oh. Like how late? Now, wait, wait, wait. You met there, right? You met at Dusini's? We met at the restaurant. What time was the meet time? Yeah. Eight o'clock. What time did Eric show up?
Probably 8.15. Okay. 15 minutes? Eric, you can't be. Is that really bad? You got to be early on a first date. That's bad, Mike. That's bad. You terrible man. I was going to give him a grace period. Is there any grace period? Is there five minutes? On a first date, you as the dude, you need to be there waiting for the girl. Okay. Eric, what happened? Eric got caught up with Stone in the afternoon. We had some stuff we had going on, and I called Ruth and said, hey, you know what? I'm running a few minutes late, but if it's okay with you, I'll see you at about 8.15. Oh, well, that's good. He gave the courtesy call. The call's good. Is that cool? Yeah. Is the courtesy call? I was fine. Then he wasn't late. If he called? That means it was not okay with Ruth. It was not okay. No, no, no, no, no. If it was okay with Ruth, she would not have said he was a little bit late. No. So something about it still, you know, something about it was still like, I don't know about that. I was nervous. So, of course, I got a little nervous when he was late. But it was fine. He got there and made a great time. So how long were you there? Like Eric said, we were at the restaurant probably, I guess, until maybe 10, 15, 10, 30. And then we went upstairs and had a drink at the bar. And then.
After that, we left and we went to another little lounge bar area. That's cool. So you guys got along well enough that you said, hey, let's go to this place. Yeah, we had a great time. That sounds cool. Awesome. We closed that restaurant. Is that right? It froze out of the bar. Really? Right. So, Eric, when you got there, when you arrived and you were 15 minutes late, did you pick up a vibe or did you think she was okay? When you came and you showed up 15 minutes late to the restaurant, did you pick up a vibe like she wasn't that stoked about that, or was it totally cool? You know, I came to the table, actually. Ruth already had a bottle of wine sitting there. Whoa. All right. Getting started early, huh, Ruth? Well, hello.
Good choice. You know, she picked a nice Pinot Noir. Uh-huh. Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir. Pinot Noir. Sweet berry wine. No way, Jose. That's all she wrote. And that's all she wrote. To your health. For health. Well, that sounds great. And so you sat down, and was conversation very easy, or was there uncomfortable silences? You know, we went right into a conversation about the kids, talked a little bit about the show. So I think that there was plenty to talk about right away. Now, later on in the night, did the conversation become more intimate? Did you guys loosen up after a few more drinks and you went to another place? I don't know if I'd say intimate. I'd say it got more fun. We started talking about traveling and concerts and music. So, yeah, it was definitely more relaxed. That's cool. Yeah. That's cool. Ruth, do you have pretty much the same impression with you? Yeah. Pretty fun, and you guys enjoyed yourself when you went to the next place? Definitely. And was there any talk of seeing each other again? Yeah. Yeah, you know what? And, you know, Ruth's a really cool girl. You know, she brought up some stuff on the show on Friday about the ex-boyfriends.
Some things that raised a little chaos on the show. But, man, that girl really has it together. She's intelligent. She really looks out for her kids. She's passionate about raising her son. And all a really cool girl. When you got there, how did she look? She looked fantastic. Yeah. She looked really good. She looked really good. What did you think, Ruth, when he walked in? Eric looked very nice. He's very... I'm embarrassed right now. Why don't you get some peanut noir? Yeah, why don't you get a peanut noir? Wait, wait, say that again. All these girls are like peeking through my office, giving me the thumbs up at work. Eric's a real handsome guy. The guy runs five miles a day, and he knows jiu-jitsu. He's been doing Brazilian jiu-jitsu for six years.
And he'll get you in one of those moves there, Ruth, and forget it. He'll make you tap out. Sky's got a question. I had a really good time with Eric. What time did the evening end if you guys went to, like, an after-hours thing? What are we talking? I live a little closer than she does. I got home at about 2.30. I got home about 3. He's like, I don't know, babe. What time did we get home? Was there, I want to ask Ruth, but she's giving me those, like, I think so, yes, answers. Like, you know, she hasn't loosened up. I'm trying to get Ruth to loosen up with me here because she's very nervous and you can tell. All right, I'll loosen up. All right, Ruth. Here's my question. Do it, Mike. Was there chemistry? Did you have chemistry? And did you guys kiss? Yeah. Did you share a good night kiss? Can you give that question to Eric? What does that mean? That means yes. What does that mean? That's a yes. Hell yeah.
That means yes. It's a Y to the is out. That means yes. You guessed. Well, yeah, it does because if you don't kiss, then you go, no, we didn't kiss, but, you know. No, don't kiss on the first date. It tastes like Sleepberry White. Sleepberry White. Sleepberry White. Yeah, she did. For your health. I love it. Eric. Yes. Are you blushing? Yeah, you are too, you liar. Even Brazilian jiu-jitsu artists blush. Mikey, there was no jiu-jitsu on Friday night. I understand. I hope there wasn't any jiu-jitsu. You're a gentleman. But maybe you gave her a little peck on the cheek or something. Maybe. Ruth answered that question for you. Yeah. He gave her a little peck on the cheek. Chemistry, do both of you feel that there was chemistry between the two of you? Yeah, you know what? I think we really bonded. We had a good time. We had a lot of fun, a lot of common musical interests. Like what? Like what? Give me an example. This girl is passionate about three things in life, starting with her son. She's passionate about her son. She's passionate about Kanye West and creme brulee. There you go. In that order. I like her. In that order. I'm in.
George Bush doesn't care about black people. Check this out. Now, all you ladies listening, you should be loving that because that means that guy really listened. Oh, yeah, they're adorable. I love this. You really listened. I mean, Ruth, what do you think of that? I love that he already knows me so well. Sounds like he was listening and paying attention. That's right. So what's up? When's the next date? What's up? Let's plant this puppy. Let's make it happen. Ruth, can you tell me what you learned about Eric? Oh, come on. You're putting me on the spot. Oh, she's so nervous. What? Ruth, why? Ruth, wait, Ruth. Hang on. Ruth, Ruth. Hey, time out. Time out, Ruth. Baby Ruth. Baby Ruth. Ruth. Hang on. Hey, baby Ruth. Okay, Rob. I don't know. The Vicodin's kicking in. I don't know. You need to jump in on that one. Sweetberry wine. Ruth. Well, then the hole comes out, though. Okay, Sean. So romantic. You guys are ruining it. Ruth. Ruth. You know this show. You know that we want to hear your feelings. We want to know how you felt. We want to know how you reacted.

I called AIS the next day. It wasn't even 24 hours after I renewed it, and it was $1,400 for the year instead of almost $1,100 for six months. That's great. Travajo, congratulations, and thank you for calling. I appreciate it, Mikey. All right, man. 1-800-777-4AIS. Tecate Light, the number one cerveza light in Mexico, is now available here in the United States. To ensure that Tecate Light remains true to its Mexican cerveza roots, we will not refer to Tecate Light as light b****. We feel its Mexican flavor and attitude are much too bold to be referred to as an ordinary light b****. In fact, to our censors, b**** is a four-letter word. They didn't even allow b**** to be mentioned in the same commercial as Tecate Light. Not even to explain the difference between b**** and cerveza. So as you can hear,
All references to b**** have been censored for your protection in order to avoid any unintended association between light b**** and Tecate Light Cerveza. I can't even imagine my life without water. On a rock 105.3. Is Tiger Tienoff? Woo!
Is this starting? It actually hit the fairway. I can't believe it. Oh, wow. U.S. Open. Is this going on right now? I think so. Is it? They said it was going to go on at 9. Welcome back. It is 9.04. Actress Jennifer Gardner accidentally locked her 2-year-old daughter in the car over the weekend. Tiger was just teeing off and hit it in the fairway. Oh, yeah. And the United States Golf Association. And the United States. Proud to present this national championship. Today it's live coverage. Of an 18-hole playoff in the 100. They got the helicopter flying over Torrey Ponson. It's just, dude. That's a postcard. It's crazy beautiful where we live. I'm going to get out there. I'll do reports live out there. Dude, look at all those polo shirts walking in unison. Look at all the polo pullovers walking in unison. I don't know if you guys, if anybody went out to dinner over the weekend, but it doesn't matter where you were.
U.S. Open people everywhere. Oh, yeah. Everywhere. I live right by the stadium, so I had to deal with the buses. Oh, dude. It was nuts. It was nuts. I've never seen anything like it. That's crazy, man. That is crazy. Good starts, aren't they, Tiger? Oh, Johnny Miller. Shut up. I can't just love to talk. You shut your mouth, Johnny. Shut up. Wouldn't it be funny if that's what the producer was saying in his ear? Shut up. Shut your mouth. Shut your filthy mouth. The other guys look at him like, is it my turn yet? Yeah, why don't you let me talk a little bit here? Shut your mouth. Three eagles. Ash, did you watch, you did not watch Best in Show, did you? Never got around to it. We're supposed to watch it tonight. I'm supposed to make dinner, and then him and I are going to watch it, me and my honey. I told her about Best in Show. It's funny. Will she get it? Yeah, I think so. It's a mockumentary. You know what that is? Ash just gave me a look like, who's this guy? He's cute. Who's this Sean guy? He's really cute. What's that? I don't know, Sean. Hopefully I can pop. Now, I want to let you know, Sean.
I want to let you know, as she was saying that, she was putting lip gloss on. Yeah. That's the truth. I mean, I'm not making that up. As she was offended that you were calling her an airhead, she was putting on lip gloss. Lip gloss. Juicy tube. Juicy tube. I go to that website all the time. It's really good. Lots of good videos. Oh, that's different. At 18. They're finally finding the fairway. I don't think she'll get it. So, Eddie, will Ashley get best in show? Of course. She's brilliant. No, Eddie. She will get it. It's a mockumentary. Ash, do you know what a mockumentary is? Where they mock documentaries. That is correct. It's supposed to look like a documentary, but it's actually a movie. Those are my faves. It's funny. Okay, here comes Rocko. Rocko. Rocko also in the fairway. Eddie, how far is that?
Uh, about probably 175. Oh, wow. Whoa, Eddie. You were one yard off. That's crazy. Not a good shot. Oh, he went right. Oh, he went right. Oh, he went right. He was choking on the beach. It's over. It's over. It's over. Hey, it's over. Eddie. No way, Rocco. Can't deal with the pressure. What's up, Mike? I'm so into this. What is going on? The great thing to do on that first one is to get it on the green as like an accomplishment no matter who you are. Of course. See, I would have thought that if you're a professional, everybody's going to put it on that green. I guess not. I mean, I just saw it. This first hole, Tiger has double bogeyed three out of the four days. So the fact that he's on the fairway and had a nice clean shot is great for him. Yeah, double bogey. For him? It is. Here we go. Tiger Woods. It's a historic event. Oh! Get in there! Just a little left of the hole. Yes!
What happened, Eddie? He hit it probably about 15 feet from the flag. So he's got a good birdie opportunity here. Birdie means one under par. One under par. Now, the other dude, Rocco Mediator. Rocco's in the bunker. So he's got to hit that sucker out of sand? Yeah, he's got to pop it up to the green. Is the sand wet or is it dry? Yeah, it's very fluffy in these kind of events. So what he... The sink? Yeah. Some of it does. Sometimes the balls can get buried under there. Good luck trying to get that out. Yeah, that's what I'm saying, bro. That's crazy. Okay, and so, Eddie, what do you use to do? A sandwich. A sandwich. A sandwich. A sandwich. A sandwich to get it out of there. Delicious and it works. Sounds yummy. Yeah. I prefer pastrami. 570-1053 is our phone number.
Mikey Shaw, hello. Hello? Hello? Hello? I was calling to see if you guys were ever going to play that audio of your son. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'll play it. Wow. He's been waiting all morning. He's been waiting all morning. He brought that up first break. That's crazy. My son is so cute. He's so cute. He's 21 months old. And he loves Elmo. Who does it, Mike? Elmo is the best. Seriously. Elmo's funny. Oh, he loves Elmo. Love that guy. And so he started doing the Elmo voice. And it's so cute. You got it, Sean? Yep. Go ahead. Here we go. Honey, what does he say? I did. Hi, Jake. I missed it. In Elmo's voice. Oh, my God. I missed it. That was crazy. Sean, do you have just him saying it? That is good. Let's hear that. I did. I did. I love it. Wow. What's up, Rich Little? I know it. That is seriously not bad. I go, I hope that he does voices. It'll just tickle me. It'll just tickle me. Tickle me Elmo. Yes, it'll tickle me Elmo if he doesn't. I love it. Holy crap. Okay, Rocco Media is hitting out of the bunker. About eight feet.
Eddie, but that was pretty good, right? It wasn't bad. He left a little meat on the bone there, Mike. A little meat on the bone. It's going to be a little tough coming back. But if he can get up and down, say par, it will be a lot of confidence for Rocco. Why is he talking that way? Eddie, do you feel it's a no-brainer Tiger makes this putt? No, it's definitely not a no-brainer. He's got about 15 feet there. It's a good... But he made a 60-footer the other day. Oh, yeah. It's Tiger Woods. Yeah, does Eddie know that? Do you remember, Eddie? It's Tiger. I talked about it earlier. Eddie, what would you use here? A putter. Okay. I would use a nine iron. Personally, I would go with a nine iron. I bet you'd pull out a sandwich. I'd pull a sandwich out. Tiger's turned in. He's reading the green, Mike. He's pretending that this offers him a challenge. That's what Tiger is doing right now. He's pretending that this... He's going to win by 20. No. All right, so here he goes. What is this called when you're getting ready? Lining up the putt. Getting ready. Standing over the putt. Oh, how did they catch that? That's really embarrassing. Tiger wearing his traditional red on black Sunday outfit, but it's Monday.
His Sunday outfit. He wears that on Sunday? Yep. There it goes. Oh, he missed it. He missed it. Did he know that he's Tiger Woods? He misread it a little bit. Why is he wearing the same outfit two days in a row? That's kind of gross, right? That's his winning outfit. That's his winning outfit. Gotcha. You suppose it's the same one from yesterday? No, I don't. Sean, what do you think? I think he has more than one Mikey shirt. He's pretty rich. What's wrong with that? I'm wearing my winning outfit right now. No, see, listen. Three days in a row. I think Tiger's wearing the same one. It's his lucky outfit. What, he washed it? He didn't wash it because it's his lucky outfit. He washed it. I just read a book on him that says that he is so superstitious. These are lies. It's called Life in the Rough. The Story of Tiger Woods. This is a very important putt. This is a very important putt. Now, if he makes it right here, they're even, right, Eddie? He's got to make this for par. And he missed it. How did he miss that? How did he miss it? Eddie, how many feet was that?
That was probably eight feet. I mean, it was not an easy putt by any means. I could have made it 50,000 times. Taps in for bogey. Not a good start for Racco. Tiger could go up one up here with a little tap in for par. A tap. I wish that we had. I wish that we had a better TV in here. You know, like, I wish that this were Jeff and Jer's studio. We could see this really clearly. It would be really nice to see the TV in a nice way. But, you know, we'll do what we have to do. There's quite a glare. There's quite a glare. There really is. No pink lights. Why does Tiger look brown, like really brown? Yeah, that's weird. Simon must be off with the coloring. He's Cablan Asian? I know, but, I mean, it doesn't look. All right. Hey, guys, how you doing? It's Dr. Wayne. We're in the middle of something. I just wanted to let you guys know I am a local chiropractor. We know. We got it, bro. We're watching Tiger.
Eddie, there it was. Tiger made his putt for par. What do you want, Dr. Wade? What just happened? Tiger Woods has made his putt for par. He's at even par, Rocco, plus one. Oh, really? Well, that's great because I'll be watching Tiger myself and in person later today when I go to the U.S. Open. Why wouldn't you be there already? Well, I have a client coming in here in about 15 minutes that I'm going to be doing a little massage on, but then I'm going to be heading out to the green. Oh, look at this. I've got one. Spare ticket. Oh, really? That is so cool. I have one. You would love to go? Yes. That means we've got to put all the names in the hat here for everybody on the show. Let's go ahead and put Mikey and Eddie and Skye and Sean and Ashley and Boston Rob's name in the hat. Am I forgetting anybody? Nope, nope, nope. All right, let me... Oh, wait, I forgot Zeth. Let me put Zeth in there as well. What a surprise. And let me just reach into the hat here and pull out a name. And let's see. I'm trying to read the thing here. Z-E-T... Oh, that says Zeth for sure. Oh, okay. That's creepy. Zeth, pick you up about noon, buddy? Does that sound good? No, I have to work, but thank you. I get the T-Bird back today. T-Bird? T-Bird. That's right.
I get it until Daddy takes the keys away. Oh, you are weird. I don't like you. Hang on just a second. What's that, honey? My wife wants to make out. Oh, good. So I'm going to go make out with my wife. Oh, Zeth looks a little jealous over there. No, I don't. Well, that would be weird for a guy to be jealous of another guy. What's the matter, though, Zeth? Nothing. I'm not jealous at all. Please go make out with your wife and leave me alone forever. Wow. That sounds like first. Yeah, a little hurt, a little sadness, a little fear. Yeah, you could definitely make it up to me, though, by buying me a hot dog out there at the U.S. Open. Okay. Weird. All right, honey, I'll be right there. Guy's got to go. Going to deeply kiss my wife. Enjoy. That was Dr. Wayne calling it. All right, let's do this. Let's take a very brief. Time out. What happened, Eddie? What happened? Tiger just hit his drive on two, and I think it went into the bunker. Not good. He's not playing that good. It doesn't look like he's playing up to his potential. Bad knee. Bad knee, Mike. I say next we do a little P1 trivia. Give somebody the opportunity to come hang out in the studio on Friday. Sweet.

Pretty good-looking shot, but it comes up short. A little short, Mike. Two straight times. Interesting. What do you think of that, Eddie? That wasn't a very good shot. It came up short, and he's in the bunker. Oh, Bunky. But, you know, Tiger's magic out of those bunkers. Get the sandwich. It'll be all right. You have to get your sandwich up. Yep, let's find me. I almost thought that was going to go in there. If it would have gone in there, I would have been a golf fan. I may be still a golf fan for life now. That was pretty amazing. Wow. I always thought golf was so boring, but it's so the opposite. Dude. Seriously. Yeah, you know, I was thinking about it this weekend, and I was thinking to myself. No, there's a reason they stick that on TV. They don't put stuff on TV for no reason. They do it to make money. And the only way it's going to make money is if people watch it. I was watching it all weekend and I couldn't get enough. It's pretty cool. Oh, dude, if he would have made that. Was he peeved? A little bit. How can you be? Because it was so close. Oh, what a good shot. So I wonder what that does. I love the psychology. Like, what does that do to Tiger now? Hager's in the bunker. Rocco's going to tie him. He's going to make a birdie here. Huge. So Eddie was teaching me. This is a major. There's five majors a year. Four majors a year. There's 19 majors. Including Major Healy. And then you have Major Tom. Major Austin. Major Austin is one of them too. That's a real big one that they have.
And then you have a major problem. Oh, don't forget about the major malfunction. Major malfunction is one of them. He's good. That's a big one. So these are all majors that happen throughout the course. Hey, you can't pick up and move the ball. Yeah, you put a little ball marker down. Okay, here goes Tiger out of the bunker. Every guy's plugged in there pretty deep. Plugged in there pretty deep. That's what she said. He's right on the lip. This is not a good lie. This is not a good lie. He's not even getting it out. Look at this guy. Stop it. That's why he passed the hole. Wow, Tiger's probably good. This is a three-shot swing right here. If Tiger bogeys this. Meaning doesn't make it. If he misses that shot right there, he'll bogey. He'll be one over. And Rocco will be even and take the lead with his birdie.
Just like that. Just like that. Do you think that these professionals get into a place where they screw up a couple of shots and they go, forget it? No. And mentally, never. No. Especially not Tiger. Tiger knows he can win at any point. Like, I mean, he's got, you know. That's creepy. He's got 15 holes left. It is, man. Because Eddie's right. Like, he does that. He's not even sweating right now. He's like, whatever. I dropped a shot. Who cares? Ebbs. Total ebbs. Total ebbs. I'll wait until 18 and drop another 60-footer. Here's how P1 Trivia works. Works like the DCC. It's like the Dumb Chick Challenge. It's basically you've got to get to five points and you pick. You want a one, two, or three-point question. Ones are easy, threes are hard. And it's easy. It's easy. But all the questions are Mikey Show-related. Every question we ask has to do with the Mikey Show. For instance, we could say, what color is Ashley's hair? Blonde. If you know, you win. It's easy. You know, you got to know. You got to know. So 570-1053 is the phone number, and let's get a couple of P1s on the line. P1 Jason. Hi. How you doing? What's up, buddy? Not too much, dude. How old are you? 26. And how long you been listening? Since you guys were on the night show.
Oh, wow. No way, Jose. Many years. Many, many years. Is this Jason in the wheelchair, Jason? That's right. Wow. Recognize your voice. Hey, Jason that just got hurt? No. Jason, he's in a wheelchair, but he comes to a lot of our events, and he's a huge P1. There you go. Yeah, sweet. Good luck, bro. All right, Jason. Hang on a minute. Oh, what happened to our dude? Hey, Roberto. Hey. Hey, mate. Hey, what's going on? Sweet berry wine. Sweet berry wine. Yes. Free health. Peanut nor. Yes. Peanut nor. I love that. That is the best. It is. Yeah, we lost him. We're getting somebody else now. We had somebody lined up. Now we got. P1 Team Spirited is on the line. How are you doing? Pretty good, thanks. How old are you? I'm 21. How long have you been listening? About three years. Three years. All right. I like it. It's going to be good. It's going to be a good match. Okay. So we will start with P1 Jason. And Jason, you pick a one, two, or three-point question. Two, please. Two-pointer.
What is the name of the game where you get clues to song lyrics? Lyrical Gangster. That is correct. Bingo. Bingo Bangbo. Bingo Bangbo. Bingo Bangbo. P1 Team Spirited. Give me a two, guys. A two-pointer. A two-point question. Name the ladies of the Battle of the Sexist Team Sass. Boots. That would be Ashley, Chantel, and Sky. You got that right. We have a tied game. We have a tied game. You want, Jason? Okay. Let's wrap it up with a three. Impartial. Look at this guy. Your three-point question is? I don't know about this question. Ask a different one. Call an audible. I'm going to call an audible.
What is Mikey's mother's name? Great question. This is easy. Esther. You are correct. Neither of you got a question wrong. You're both coming in. P1 Jason and P1 Team Spirited, you both come in. What's up? What's up? Thank you. Hang on the line, you two lovebirds. They're lovebirds? Yeah. Why not? That's weird. I just thought I would call them lovebirds. That's fair. Okay. Hang on, you two rascals. Rascals. That's right. That's a good one. What's going on now? Tiger at number four. Trying to recover after his bogey. Okay. Rocco making a birdie. Rocco now has the lead at even par. Woods won over. Oh, my gosh. Tiger not happy with this. Steve Woods, by the way. Steve Woods. He's not happy with this, Mike. Why? Although it's.
Looks good. What's he not happy about? Oh, no. He's in the short rough. He's all right. So is Rob, and he's been fine throughout. He's in short. Look at that gorgeous toy parts. Wow. The magical class of Loyola. Why are they magical? They just are. Look at them. Magical? Yes. Guy Fieri. Wait a minute. You don't need to report on a commercial. I didn't know. I didn't know what you thought of it. So the lead singer of Coldplay is married to the chick from Seven. You can do it. Your daughter named Apple, and her name is Gwyneth Paltrow. Yes. And their daughter's name is Apple. Yep. Well, anyway, Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, walked out on an interview with the BBC. Why? I don't know, but we have audio. Oh, let's hear it. Cut 72. Did you start with the song Viva La Vida and the idea within that song of the deposed dictator looking back at his life? Mm-hmm. Is that... Can I just ask you just to move back into the microphone a little bit? I'm enjoying this. Aren't you? Yeah. Why? Two minutes. Yeah, sure, yeah. Is that all right? Yeah. Are you feeling a bit under pressure? No, no, no. Yeah, I just don't really like him to talk about things. Really? I don't enjoy this. Have I upset him? I don't think so. I don't think I said anything. No, no, I don't think so. Okay. What happened?
He doesn't like to talk about things? Yeah, they were asking him about the title of a song, which is also the title of the new album, Viva La Vida, which means death and all his friends. And asked him if this is a reflection, if he has an obsession or issues with death. And he said he wouldn't agree with that. And then that you're twisting what he's saying into something he really doesn't mean. Who? Twisting who? The interviewer. He's twisting Chris Martin's words. He's like, you're twisting my words. And that he wasn't really enjoying this, and he didn't really like having to talk about things, and he left. Yeah, and then basically left, I guess, the drummer to field most of the questions and then came back a few minutes later. And I guess that's on the heels of the interviewers already being told that he will not discuss his personal life. He will not talk about his wife or his children or anything like that. But he wasn't. I know, I know. So you can't talk about his music. Yeah, you can't talk about himself. You can't talk about his personal life. I wonder what would be in bounds. House of Weather.
Yeah, if you like house. What do you think of... Well, my wife watches house, and that's... You know that's off-limits. You know that's off-limits. Right, tell me this, then. Can you tell me, how do you like the weather we're having right now? Do you like the weather we're having? Do you watch the EastEnders? The what? On BBC. The EastEnders. EastEnders. Son, you know what I'm talking about. I do. Thank you. One person got that joke, Sean. Me wife likes that show, might I? Oh, I'm out. I'm leaving. So weird. Chill out. You know, my wife was in Seven. Yeah. At the end of the movie, they had her head in a box. Yeah, you might remember it. Kevin Spacey said, what's in the box? It was me wife's head. Don't ask me about it. Yeah. Harry Potter. Star Emma Watson has signed a $6 million deal with Chanel. Whoa, isn't she like 12? Well, she is now 18. Meow. She is now 18 years old. Just turned... Hermione. Yes. Okay, Eddie. What did you just say?
That's the name of her character. How does he know that? Yeah, because he's creepy. How does he know that? Everybody knows that. Eddie, I had no idea that you knew anything about it. You watch Harry Potter, don't you? I have never seen one Harry Potter thing. I know that there's a dude named Dumbledore because Eddie made one of them. Dumbledore. It's not Dumbledore. Dumbledore. Rob. Oh, no. Don't make fun of things you don't know about. I watched that. I watched that. I love Harry Potter. I don't know any of this. She just turned 18 this year. She's made millions of dollars from the Harry Potter movies, and now she's got a $6 million deal with Chanel. Skrill. Dumbledore is in it, too. They both are in it. Oh, the Chanel acts? Yes. That's weird. That is weird. Let's see. Metallica had a surprise performance at a Nashville record store. Yeah, well, because they performed at Bonnaroo on Friday night at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee. And so as a little warm-up on Thursday, they did... We played at Tower Records. Well, no, it was some local... We didn't realize they were out of business. How is that possible? Yeah, so they did about nine songs to an audience of about 150 people.
Cut 57. Playing small places are always fun. Anytime you have a small place and you've got a lot of energy and a good vibe in a small place, it's always fun because the energy is contained. And obviously we spend a lot of time playing outdoors. And outdoors, it's great. But the energy kind of goes to the stars, you know, when you're playing small places and the energy is contained. It's pretty awesome. Let's see. Where does it go? Bush is considering writing a memoir. President Bush, can I ask you a question? I'm glad you're bringing this up. Well, I just want to ask you about it. I mean, you're going to be writing memoirs, so how revealing. I've got a ghostwriter. You have a ghostwriter? Yeah. Who is it? Stephen King. Stephen King? What? That's awesome. Wait a minute. There'll be a lot of adventures and scary stuff. But you realize a memoir is supposed to be a true story. Well, it kind of is based on a true story. Okay, President.
But what's the deal is, is the White House is haunted, Mackie. Oh, get it. Red rum. Red rum. Really? That does not. That doesn't sound. Scary, huh? Are you freaked out? Yeah, but that doesn't sound. All work and no play, Mackie. What? That does not sound like a memoir. That sounds like a fictional horror story. Scatman Crothers is going to be in it. Scatman Crothers died, President. Oh, no. He died alone. There goes my memoir. Besides, how would Scatman Crothers be in the memoir? Well, he's like a caretaker of the White House. No. And me and my family are watching the White House for the winter. Okay, so let me... Oh, wow. It closes down during the winter. Are you going to say in your memoir... Shelley Duvall is my wife. Okay. So are you going to say in the memoir that Scatman Crothers is... Yeah, and Shelley Duvall is part of my memoir. It's not even characters. It's Scatman Brothers. It's actually Scatman. Oh, President Bush. I think that might be an exciting memoir now that I think about it. And Jenna's riding around on a big wheel. Oh, really? She's like 21 years old. Okay. I don't think you get it, President. Are you freaked out? Oh, not really. That's President Bush. Thank you, President Bush.
President Bush, why are you watching the U.S. Open instead of concentrating on this? This is so awesome. Why are you watching this? What's going on, President Bush? That guy's good. That's President Bush, ladies and gentlemen. Freaked out yet? I make out with a corpse. No, you don't. No, you don't. You do not. It's a bathtub. That's just shining. All you're doing is saying what's in the movie. What are you saying? I'm saying you're writing a memoir. I'm writing a memoir. Yeah, but... Exactly. On the same page. Last night were the Tony Awards, and Sky is a fan of award shows of all kinds. Pass. Pass. So Sky, you know, what are the highlights on that one?
It's like password. Well, there was a lot of singing and dancing involved. The show opened with an elaborate number from Disney's The Lion King. And towards the end, Whoopi Goldberg, who was the host of the show, came out dressed as a crab from Little Mermaid. So that's always good. That sounds like torture. How many times? That sounds like torture. It's always good, Mike. Well, it was live, too. Let it go. Over it. See how it goes. Pierce Brosnan says that Hollywood is ageist. That's not Hollywood, Pierce. It's the planet Earth. Yeah, I guess he was a little upset because he thought that he was going to be doing another Bond movie. Oh, come on, dude. And then all of a sudden, Daniel. A walker. I mean, come on. So in an interview, he says that Hollywood is ageist, and he thought they were going to do a fifth film. Have you seen Pierce lately, too, by the way? I haven't seen him. Gained like 100 pounds. Has he really? No doubt they want James Bond having a tie.
For real? I didn't know that that was the truth. Yeah, well, they showed a picture of him, and one of those, it was either People or Star, one of those magazines that shows those pictures of the celebs, and it was him and his wife, and they both were, like, chunky. Princess Eugenia busted for frolicking naked at school. Who's Princess Eugenia? Fergie's. Are we, like, now reporting on news from the fantasy world? Yeah. That'd be cool. Isn't that a euphemism for a vagina? Wait a second. Did I say it right? It's not Princess Eugenia. It's Princess Eugenie, I think. I think I said it wrong. I think it's Eugina, Mike. No, Eddie, it's not Eugina. I think I said it wrong. You did. That's not what it is. It is not that. You messed it up. It is not that. It's Eugenie? That's the way it's spelled. Yeah, I think it's Eugenie. But I don't know who that is. From where? She is the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Fergie Ferguson. That's a chick that used to be in the Black Eyed Peas. Well, she still is in the Black Eyed Peas. She's just doing a solo thing. She's going to be at the fair. She's going to be at the fair. Just eating corn burgers and cinnamon buns.
Sweet marijuana. Sweet marijuana. Sweet marijuana. So Eugenie is sixth in line for the British throne, and I guess her and some of her girlfriends were blowing off some steam at the end of the semester at college, and they ran around streaking naked. Sounds like Space Mountain. I wasn't naked. I was topless. No, I had my bra on to put, like, a bathing suit. Everyone just grow up. Check them out, everyone. Hey, Mickey, look at these. history ever. Look at my goofies. Oprah Winfrey spoke at Stanford's graduation. Good for them. And it says she gave away a bunch of books. Well, she joked to the crowd that she would really love to give away cars and the whole crowd started like screaming.
Like, they thought they were going to all get cars. Right. And then she goes, but instead, I have these. Dr. Seuss books. Two books for you. Two inspirational books she gave them. It was God, It's Me Again, Margaret. Yeah. It was one of them. And then Where the Sidewalk Ends. Oh, that's a good one. Oh, love that. They're both really good books. Let's see. Honda is rolling out a new hydrogen car. Yeah, so they're... Because the Hindenburg worked out so good, they figured, why don't we do this? Yeah, but... Okay, so it's called the FCX Clarity. It's hydrogen and electric. They're going to lease out a few dozen this year. They're only going to lease them. It's a three-year lease. That's going to be about $600 a month, but the first customers... Methane. The first customers are going to be like Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Guest. So kind of like with the first electrical vehicle, only celebrities will get it. So can we use Ashley's dog to fill up our cars? Pretty much. Pretty much. Her dog has a lot of gas. Okay, guys. Runs on ugly juice. Okay, that's enough. Runs on ugly juice. She's adorable. If by adorable you mean a grossly bizarre underbite, then yes.
Oh, gosh, I love her so much. Like a coma, it's Mikey. On Rock 105.3. Honey, I'm back. Hi, baby. Who was all here drinking beer while I was at my mom's? Nobody was here drinking beer. Oh, come on. Tell the truth. I saw the beer cans in the trash out front. Beer cans? Where? Show me. What do you call these? Those are cans of Tecate Light. That's not beer. That's cerveza. Oh, come on. Beer, cerveza. It's the same thing. No, no, no. Beer and cerveza is not the same thing. Of course it is. Is it the same thing if I say te quiero or I love you? No, it's not the same. You see, just like amar, querer is not the same. Beer and cerveza is not the same either. I know what you mean. Sorry, honey. I love you. Te quiero. Huh? Tecate Light, Mexico's number one cerveza light. It's not beer, it's cerveza. Enjoy Tecate Light responsibly 2007. Cervezas Mexicanas, White Plains, New York.

That's all she wrote. Peanut Nora? No. Welcome back to the program, ladies and gentlemen. We are on the fifth hole, or where are we, Eddie? Yeah, you're right. Fifth hole. U.S. Open. Okay. KIOZ hit it. Rocco's looking at a hit in here. Good morning, puppy. Good morning to you. Is it firm enough? Oh, that's what she said. For a bogey for Rocco on five, Tiger has a pretty short par putt, so these two are going to be tied again.
I love those golf claps. Why do they talk so weird, mumbled, like right into the microphone? I don't get it, though. Aren't they far away from where they're shooting? Apparently not. No, they have a guy that walks the course with them, and they go to him, and he's got to talk there. I thought even the announcers do it, though. Well, you'll hear Johnny. They say that John White's character will be introduced during 24's two-hour prequel and then will be featured heavily throughout the season. The prequel is currently filming in South Africa and will air in late November. Cool. Cool. Obama called on absent black fathers to...
Get their act together on Father's Day. I'm black and I'm proud. I understand. Step it up, yeah. Step it up, you guys. Yeah, his own father left when he was only two years old. So he, you know, was very lucky to have, you know, a strong mother and his grandparents in his life. And, you know, one of the things that he wanted was to end that cycle. And, you know, his main priority in life is to be a good father to his kids. So when he was speaking at a church in Chicago on Father's Day. Yesterday, he said, you know, that, quote, they have abandoned their responsibilities acting like boys instead of men. Oh, no. And the foundation of our families are weaker because of it. So he says step it up. I've abandoned my child. Oh, for goodness sake. I've abandoned my boy. Okay, we get it already. I've abandoned my child. Okay, fine. I've abandoned my boy. Well, do something. I've abandoned my child. Thank you. I've abandoned my boy. I've abandoned my child. I've abandoned my boy. It's like you got split personalities or something. My son, H.W.? Okay. Sky, what were the number one movies? Talk about it.
There had to be more than one number one movie, right? Well, no, there was only one number one movie. So what were they, all the different ones that were number one? I can tell you the top three movies. The top three number one movies. The top number three, number one, was The Happening, making $30.5 million. Number two, number one, was Kung Fu Panda, with $34.3 million. Wow. And the number one, number one movie of the weekend was The Incredible Hulk, making $54.5 million. No thanks to Sean, who snuck in to see you the second time. That's all right. I didn't sneak in. I just sat there and told him I was early. That's it. You were early. That's the worst. I'm early. Oh, Sean. I understand. Let's see. It was really good. Thank you. Cut 65. Musket, now you're up. Cover me. Mike. Yeah. I'm sure you already know this, but Tim Roth in the movie, he plays the bad guy. Right. Hulk's nemesis, and he took the super soldier serum that made Captain America who he is. Yeah, I was a Captain America guy when I was a kid. And Tim Roth took that same serum, and that's what made him so crazy there, Sky.
Oh, like Captain America. And when they said, I thought that thing got put on ice a long time ago, they made a joke about Captain America. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. It was a reference to Cap. It was a reference. Weird, I missed that one. It was a reference. It's a reference. God, I didn't get that right away. The Ferrigno was in it. Yeah. Which was awesome. Stan Lee. Stan Lee was in it. Bill Bixby? Bill Bixby, yeah, on television. But, yeah. Come on. The real Bill Bixby? Well, they were doing a little homage, if you will, and they showed Edward Norton watching TV, and he was flipping through the channels in the courtship of Eddie's father. Oh, you've got to love that, right? It's awesome. It's an homage. Nope. Okay. So, you know all these former American Idol kids? They all, oh, American Idol is so lame. You know, they all kind of. Yeah. So Taylor Hicks, though, was on Regis and Kelly, and they asked him about what he thinks of it. Cut 30. Well, I want to be a musician, and I want to be an entertainer. I think that all of those things encompasses an entertainer, and that's acting and singing. Anything that I can do to season myself as an entertainer, then that's what I'll do. And while you're here in New York, you're working on a new album. Yeah, I'm working on a new album. I'll be releasing that in the fall. Fantastic. What a wonderful city to be. I'm excited. That's great.
So anyway, Taylor, do you miss the American Idol show? Well, I love it. I've got to watch it more often this year than last year, and I wasn't on tour. But yeah, it was a great season. They keep finding this young talent. Yeah, it's great. It's a great show, and it's a great way to get out there and expose yourself to the world. Look what happened to you for crying out loud. It's great stuff. That's Taylor Hicks saying basically, you know, I still like it. He's still a fan. He's not going to talk smack about it. This was kind of interesting. Chevy Chase said something I've never heard him say before. And he's not funny? No, he doesn't say that. He should. I've heard before about why he left Saturday Night Live. And there's been all kinds of stuff. Mostly what you hear about him leaving Saturday Night Live was he wanted to do movies. Right? Yeah, definitely. That's what I thought. Cut 32. It was very funny that first year, and then you left. Why? Did you leave? I wasn't funny anymore. Did you leave? I never know why you did that. To make movies? No. The concept set forth was that I had lucrative film deals waiting for me. The fact is I was infatuated with a very pretty girl in L.A. who wouldn't leave L.A. with whom I'd been going for a year, and I wanted to marry her.
She threatened to not marry me and all that stuff. The marriage lasted about 10 minutes. It's really about that. You gave it up for love. I gave it up for love. Do you like that now? Do you? He's a little confrontative, you know. He gets a little confrontational, Chevy Chase. Did you know that there was a whole bunch of stars at this TV Land award thing? Oh, gosh. TV Land? Yeah. What the heck is that? I don't know, but there was a bunch of stars at it. It's a station. It's a TV Land. It's a great network. It's a great network. Here is Steve Carell, cut 34. Before I begin, I have an announcement. A few moments ago, I received a call. telling me that I am on the short list for vice president of the United States. I'm not sure whether that means John McCain, Barack Obama, or Ron Paul, but suffice to say that I knew never having an opinion would one day pay off. So is it suffice to say or suffice it to say? What is right?
Sean would know. Sean, what is it? I believe it's just suffice to say. Man, I've been saying it wrong for many years. It's okay. I say suffice it to say. I don't think that's right. Man. All right, let's go. You've had enough. Well, you know. That deflated your soul. Nobody wants it. I'm shoving it down your throat. And I want you to want it. All right. I want you to want me. I want you to want. I need you to need me. Okay. Well said. I'm loving you to love me. I'm begging you to beg me. Oh, my gosh. The girl can't sing, Eddie. What's wrong? I don't know if that's singing. I don't either. What? Are you guys ready to go? 570-1053 is our phone number. Are you ready for this? Are you ready? We do open phones beginning and end of every show. So you call us right now? No. No, I'm being serious. We do. Sky went to a P1's art gallery on Saturday. What? What is that? Look at you, foo-foo. What's up with your wine and cheese? Sweetberry wine. Sweetberry wine. She had peanut noir. Peanut noir? Oh, my. Stop it. Did you buy any art? Did you call Karen? Hi, Karen. Hi, Karen.
I'd like to buy smart. Hey, Robert, if you were here, would you like to go to the art gallery? I am whipped and I love it. I can't. I will be ice skating. They had invited me a couple times. I went horseback riding first. I didn't go horseback riding. I was having cheese on the horse. I played some polo. You guys are ridiculous. They are. No. So I went. It was a lot of fun. It was some P1s. They invited me a couple times. And it's Distinction Art Gallery, downtown Escondido. They know I live in the Dito. And it was really cool. I rolled solo. Whoa. I know. I know. Who are you? I'm a brave pal. That's crazy. I went by myself. And they had a DJ spinning out front. Cool. And they had a local brewery there. It's calling your girlfriends. And I peruse the art. Did you buy a piece? No, there were a couple things I was interested in. Yes, a piece of ham. It was right next door. It was right next door. But to make a purchase like that, it's something I'd want my husband in on too. But we'll definitely go back. It was very cool. It wasn't like old people. That ham's good.
It wasn't foo-foo art. It was, like, cool. Modern art? Yeah, it was very cool. It was a canvassed ham. No. You would have snatched that up. Well, it was $3,000, but truthfully, guys, it was invaluable. I like ham. I can't put a price. Scratch and sniff. Yes. Well, that's why I didn't purchase it. I said, is this scratch and sniff? Shut up. There's this smell of ham if you scratch it. It's really ridiculous. Does it stink of the ham? Oh, yes. 570-1053 is the number. Mikey Show. Hey, this is P1SCO Joe. Hey. I have to say I've been on the swing shift, so I've been sleeping through you guys. I miss you guys. What's that? Just like most of the audience. What's the swing shift? Swing shift. That's an overnight shift. Oh, that's it. Yeah. I didn't know that. Go ahead. Okay. Mikey show. Good morning, Mikey. Whoa. What's going on? Nothing. Well, thank you very much. I appreciate it. That was very hot. That was all hot, Mike.
Yes, hello? Hello, Dark? Hello? Mikey Show. Hey, how's it going? Good. Hey, I just want to say I became a P1 last week, and I just wanted to say what's up to Mikey. Oh, cool. You're on the air. All right. I love it. Is it everything you hoped for? Yeah. How's it going? It's going good. Good. Just want to say I became a P1 last weekend, and I love what you guys are doing. Who turned you on to us? I heard the testimony from Mikey, and I was really excited about it. I thought maybe you had a friend that turned you on to the show or something. What was that? I said I thought you had a friend that maybe turned you on to the show, but it was just you came across us, you started listening, and you're still listening. Yeah, I started listening at work, and I guess I got excited. I don't know. Very cool. Well, you know. One of the number one jobs of a P1 is to make more P1s, so you've got to go find more people to make a listen to the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that's right. That's right. That'll be my duty. There you go, man. Nice. All right, man. I appreciate it. Mikey's show, last call. Bring us home. Hey, I just want to say you guys always run a dynamite show. I love you guys. Dynamite. Hey, y'all. Thank you. And when are you guys going to move to ESPN Radio? You and Eddie commentate on the U.S. Open. It's absolutely fantastic.
Yeah, I actually think that that would be a good team. A guy that knows about golf and a guy that doesn't know about golf. Might actually be a fun thing to listen to. That makes for great radio. You guys are always perfect together. Love it. We're like peanut butter and jelly. Yeah. All right, dude. Thank you very much for the call. You guys rock on your turkeys. All right, we got to get out of here. The lovely and talented Missy is up next. Latest ever. Latest ever. Latest ever. Latest ever. Latest ever. Missy has double shots on the nooner. Shawnee meeting in ten. Meeting in ten. Double shots. Nooner. Mike. Missy next. San Diego. Open. Green. Love your mouth.
