Don Imus controversyrace and free speechcelebrity outburstsstaff mishapsbirthday gifts and charityradio gamesGeorge Carlin tributescharacter comedydon imuspacman jonesracismnaomi campbell
Don Imus's comment about Adam 'Pacman' Jones dominated the show, with Mikey arguing that it sounded like racial social commentary rather than a joke and that Imus's later racial-profiling explanation did not fit Jones's actual record. Ashley admitted losing her temper in two confrontations at an Arco station, then joined Eddie against Mikey and Sky in a long argument over whether children's birthday parties should favor personal presents or a group gift and charity donation. The crew also mined their own mishaps for comedy, including Sean chewing his numb cheek after dental work, Ashley's cursed birthday dinners, Mikey's 'Play-Doh nose,' and a disastrous round of P1 Password. Naomi Campbell's airport defense and Shaquille O'Neal's Kobe Bryant rap prompted separate debates about whether provocation, race, or spontaneity excused ugly behavior. The show closed its strongest cultural material with Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, and Lewis Black remembering George Carlin, followed later by an intentionally deranged Neil Diamond character bit.
What happened, in order
Imus and Pacman Jones
Don Imus linked Adam 'Pacman' Jones's six arrests to his being African American, then claimed he was sarcastically protesting racial profiling, a defense Mikey and the crew found implausible.
The Play-Doh Nose
Mikey said a surgeon called him a poor nose-job candidate because there was no prominent bone to shave, prompting the crew to joke that his soft 'Play-Doh nose' simply needed molding.
Pizza After Novocaine
Sean ignored his dentist's warning, ate pizza while his mouth was numb, and chewed his cheek until he discovered the blood.
Ashley's Birthday Curse
The crew tried to organize Ashley's birthday while revisiting disastrous past dinners involving drunken tears, friends ducking the check, and Ashley leaving her own celebration early.
Naomi Campbell's Defense
Naomi Campbell said a British Airways employee used a racist 'gollywog' insult after her luggage was lost, while the hosts argued that the slur still did not excuse her violent airport outburst.
Arco Meltdown
Ashley described sitting at a gas pump while finishing a phone call, yelling at one impatient woman, and putting her car back in park to confront a second woman who honked, before admitting her temper was out of line.
Shaq's Kobe Rap
The show played Shaquille O'Neal's viral club rap attacking Kobe Bryant, debated whether it was improvised, and mocked a fictional Shaq who insisted he meant Kobe beef.
P1 Password Collapse
Several callers failed the show's one-word-clue game amid confused passes and spectacular misfires, including hearing 'ink' as 'stink' and answering 'pit' after 'arm.'
No-Gift Birthday Fight
Mikey and Sky supported replacing piles of birthday presents with one group gift plus a charity donation, while Eddie and Ashley argued that personal gifts are part of making a child's birthday special.
Remembering George Carlin
Jerry Seinfeld recalled joking with George Carlin about death days before Carlin died, Robin Williams praised Carlin's fearless honesty, and Lewis Black remembered Carlin encouraging him early in his career.
Unhinged Neil Diamond
A wild Neil Diamond impersonation berated a caller, mangled 'Sweet Caroline' and 'Cracklin' Rosie,' and improvised increasingly absurd confessions about drugs, affairs, and murder.

at 6.07. Well, Don Imus is under fire again for racial comments, this time made about Adam Pacman Jones. Padres had the day off yesterday, going to start a series with the Twins tonight. Jake Peavy will be on the Hill. To say that this Don Imus stuff is a big story is the understatement of the year. My brother left me a voicemail yesterday and he goes, did you hear the Don Imus stuff? He's at it again and I thought to myself, oh, I bet he made a joke that my brother really, because my brother is very sensitive. And I thought, oh, maybe he made a joke that seemed much worse than it was kind of thing. I didn't know. I just know my bro. And then I heard the clip cut five. Defensive back Adam Pacman Jones.
Recently signed by the Cowboys. Here's a guy suspended all of 2007 following the shooting at a Vegas nightclub. Well, stuff happens. You're in a nightclub, for God's sake. What do you think's going to happen in a nightclub? People are drinking and doing drugs. Yeah. There are women there, and people have guns. So anyway, go ahead. Well, he's also been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005. What color is he? He's African-American. There you go. Now I know. He wants to drop his nickname, Pac-Man, because he says there's too much negativity tied to it. Now listen, what I said about the Rutgers nappy-headed hoe thing was that I felt that that comment was inappropriate, stupid. ignorant, whatever, but that the spirit of the dumb, inappropriate comment, the spirit of it was humor. That's what he does. He does a comedy show. That's what I miss is about. It's commentary and comedy. And so when he made that, I kind of winced and went, Ooh, you know, been there, done that. You're doing a live radio show and you know, you're trying to be, you're trying to have a good time.
You say some stuff. Sometimes it doesn't come out either. It isn't something I'll just say for me. Sometimes it isn't that it doesn't come out right. Sometimes it's that it's the way that you talk and it can be interpreted that you have some sort of hate in your heart, especially if you're making a joke and it has to do with race or whatever. So when I heard the first comment that he made about the Rutgers deal. I thought, oh, that's a poorly timed, politically incorrect joke. This one is not humor. No way. No. This one's not supposed to. This one, you don't get. This one's social commentary. Yes. This one is what color is he? He's African-American. Oh, well, there you go. Well, there you go. What? That one's not good. That one's not good. No.
That one to me is, that's the one. If people said this happened yesterday on the radio show, and it was both the Rutgers thing and this one, and they said, man, which do you think is worse? I'd say, well, one of them I think he was trying to be funny. The other one is a social commentary, and that's the one I think that I'd have the problem with. But, boy, that is not going to be good. I don't think he'd get out of that one. I don't know how he can. I mean, that's such an irresponsible remark. And, you know, for a guy that went through what he went through, I mean, what a crazy thing to do. I just don't get it. I can tell you this as a host and see if this sheds any light on the Imus thing. And I can tell you as a host that's been fired before that when you come back. after being fired for something that you've said, in your head, you have this battle going on. And the battle is, people expect a certain thing from me. Like, it's my brand. If Pepsi got taken off the market because they screwed up and put something bad in their Pepsi, when it comes back on the shelves again, people expect it to be Pepsi.
If it isn't Pepsi, then, you know, why do I want to keep drinking it? And that's what I think that the guy, that's what the Pepsi can is saying. Pepsi can's going, well, I'm Pepsi. And I think that the other part of the psychology about it is that he's so caught up in being Pepsi that he has to really Pepsi it up. There's a psychology that says, I really have to Pepsi it up. It sounds like it kind of backfired. So this was Don Imus this morning on his radio show defending it. Cut 41. Well, Warren and I were talking yesterday about Pac-Man Jones being arrested six times, and which I think was just, you know, it was obviously the picking on him. So I asked Warner what color he was. Well, obviously I already knew what color he was. That's what the point was. In order to make a sarcastic point.
I asked one of what color he was. Warner tells me. I said, well, there you go. That's the point. Yeah. What people should be outraged about is that they arrest blacks for no reason. And I mean, there's no reason to arrest this kid six times. I mean, maybe he did something once, but I mean, everybody did something once. Well, I have. So something like, so my making a sarcastic observation about Pac-Man Jones being arrested six times, which in effect was racial profiling in my, that's what I believe. That was the only point, to try to turn that into that I meant something else when there are two black people sitting on the set and an African-American who's the producer of the television part of the program, Tom Bowman. I mean, that's insane. Well, how come you didn't say that, then? Yeah. Yeah, you didn't say any of that. All you said is, there you go. And you said, there you go. Yeah. And actually, I, man, Pac-Man did do all those things. why he was arrested. He did a lot of bad things. He wasn't arrested for no reason. Yeah, there was no real racial profiling going on. So your point, it doesn't make any sense any way you look at it. It's hard to swallow. Yeah, you know, you got arrested six times and you sure shouldn't have. Boy, that's... That poor kid. Americans are arrested all the time for no reason. Yeah? Six times and...
is a champion for black rights. Let me tell you something. That clip that we just played will not play well in the black community. It will not play well with Reverend Jesse Jackson. It will not play well with, what's his name? Al Sharpton. Al Sharpton. Who has already issued a statement on this event. Of course. If you'd like to hear it. Yes. He says that the National Action Network will be looking into this incident. Quote, I find the inference of his remark disturbing because it plays into stereotypes. We will determine in the next day or so whether or not his remarks warrant direct action on our part. He didn't end every sentence with the word again. Man, that is a big story today.
And there's a big story today. I've told you this before because I mess up all the time. I mess up all the time. A lot of times you guys don't know about my mess ups because sometimes they happen privately. But I mess up all the time. I'm no better than Don Imus. I'm a jerk. Even though when I'm on the radio I say I'm a Christian and trying to live my life in a Christian way. I am. I'm a jerk. I'm selfish. I'm self-centered. Sometimes I make inappropriate remarks. And so I'm not any better than Don Imus's. None of my stuff that I do is any better in God's eyes than what Don Imus did. So with that, I say I feel bad for Don Imus. The reason I do is because just like me, he's a victim of himself. Can't get out of his own way. Guy can't get out of his own way, and neither can I a lot of times. I just can't get out of my own way.
I want to. I know it. I want to. I want to be cool, man. I want to, like, live good. Yeah. And I try. I try. And then every once in a while, I say, I turn around, and there's my wife standing there with that brand new, you know, shirt she's got on. And I give her that look, and I go, oh, well, well, look at that thing. And I realize, oh, boy, well, I am not very smart. Hey, listen. That's a minus 12 on the 10 scale of stuff I do, you know. I mean, I'm a jerk, so what can I tell you? I'm trying. That's all. That's all you can do. That's all you can do. So 570-1053 is our phone number. You can reach us at the beginning and end of every show. So call us up and text us. What do you think? 35253 is our text number. And 570-1053 is our phone number. And let's introduce. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. And I am 38 years old. And I'm going to be having surgery here in a couple of weeks. Oh. That's right. Nose job. Well, I'm not doing a nose job. I'm a poor candidate for a nose job, I was told. What? I'm a poor candidate. What do you even mean? How do you feel? Well, you have lots of money.
No, that's not what it means. What they say is that when they do those things, usually it's because people have like a, like, for instance, they got like a big bump on their nose. Sure. Like the Ashley Tisdales. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So all they do is, and I don't mean to give you the willies, but what they do is, well, they shave the bone down. I have the willies. I have the heebie-jeebies. You know? But then when they lay the skin back on, it's beautiful. It looks beautiful. It looks gorgeous. Come on. No way, Jose. Yeah, so I don't have that. I don't have the big bone that makes my nose look big. My nose is what I call the Play-Doh nose. It's like, you know, they stuck it on there. The Play-Doh nose. You know, that's the Play-Doh nose. Hey, it's mine. What are you going to do? So what I wish is that he could somehow reshape the Play-Doh nose, but he says, well, listen. They don't have a big enough razor? They don't have a... He says, I don't have a scalpel that big. What do you want me to do? It's weird, because Play-Doh's so pliable. Yeah. I think he could mold it. Yeah, just push it back together. I'm a doctor, not David Copperfield. Speaking of doctors, Eddie is our producer and sports guy. He's an incredible physician. Pleasure to be a doctor of the year. In your clinic. I didn't even go to college. One of the best in the country. That's right. One of the foremost. Yeah.
Experts. The field of everything. Yeah, the field of everything. Gastroenterology and viral medicine. That's right. I don't even know what that is. That's right. He specializes in both. He's a graduate of Stanford. Most definitely. He's quoted in the paper. Fan of the baseball team. That's true. He's quoted in the paper as saying, in terms of all infectious disease, I'm very close. That's what he said. We're getting close. He made the paper. Eddie is 35 years of age. And is half Italian and half Mexican. And so the Mexican part of him decided last night, Chevy's. Homemade tortillas. Eddie had to leave a bad tip. He didn't think the service was very good. It happens. Absolutely support that. Hold on. What's up, Sean Jr.? Hold on, Sean. I need to hear that. Hold up, wait a minute. Nice job. What's up, Sean? I now regret my decision.
Sean, why don't you listen to the guy? I feel that I'm a pretty good tipper. I usually leave the 20%. But last night, the service was extraordinarily bad. It was a woman who was very flighty. We asked her for several things, and she didn't bring one thing we asked for. And just disappeared for long stretches. And, I mean, it was bad. It was one of the worst services I've ever had. And I was mad at the time when I left the bill. And on a $30 bill, I only left for $3. 10%. And so I was like, ah, I should show you. A lot of people wouldn't even have left anything. Yeah, I know. And then as soon as I left, I went, you know what? I don't feel right about doing that. I shouldn't have done that.
You're a good man. Whatever. What can you do? Good person. Let's see. Wait until I tell you what Sean was up to yesterday. Oh, boy. I already love it. Sky is our news girl. Just skip me and get to Sean. No, it's not. Honestly, it's nothing. Oh, sure. Sky is our news girl. She is 30 years of age. And her husband knows a lot about stuff. And he can fix a lot of stuff. Shawnee, your boy, is our sound effects man. He is 38 years of age. Went to the dentist yesterday. Got the Novocaine shot. Two. Two Novocaine shots. Yeah. Came home. Was starving. So hungry. Sky knows where this is going. Yes. Well, they tell you. But, dude, it was 8 o'clock at night. Oh, man. Specifically, they tell you.
They specifically say to you, they say, this is the dentist talking. Dentist says, the dentist says, I implore you. Listen, I beg of you. Don't eat. You can't feel your mouth. Don't eat. You're numb. You're numb for your own safety. Don't eat because those teethies. Yeah. It was eight o'clock at night. Well, what happened? He chewed the heck out of his cheek. It starts bleeding, and of course it does because he's chewing it, you know? We pretty much had a chick meat dinner. Okay, gross. Out of taste. Rare. Yeah. So, yeah, I'm like, I'm chewing my hats of pizza, you know? And all of a sudden, it's like, okay, there's way too much saliva. Oh, yuck, yuck, yuck. I'm not exaggerating. I'm not trying to do a bit or anything.
And I was like, oh, gee, I hope this isn't what I think it is. So I went into the restroom. Yeah, it was. Spit out. I mean, I don't understand. I know it. Well, this guy. I'm starving. Well, this guy enjoys eating baby food. So you think out of all the time that you eat baby food? Hello. Yeah, guy. You eat pizza. Yeah, guy. Maybe the greatest point ever made. Yeah. And it's true. There was baby food in the refrigerator. There was yogurt in the refrigerator. I could have had any one of them. My wife made me pizza before I got home. It was there. What you do is you tell her, I'd love to have it, honey, but I'll tell you what. That dentist implored me. He begged me. He loves pizza. What are you going to do? My wife had pizza. If it was flipping pizza, it's worth it. That's a different story. It's worth it. Ashley is our assistant producer. Has anybody started to ponder this point anymore about this birthday sneaking up on us? We need to discuss it. Eddie, say again. We need to discuss this. We have to discuss this. I have to discuss on our walk and talk today. I need specifics. It needs to be done now. Let's do it. Yeah, we need to do it. Let's do it. Okay, so here's the deal. What's up?
Ashley's birthday is less than a week away. Oh, geez. Come on. It is. Come on, girl. That's crazy. Her birthday's Monday. You're joking. Yeah, it is. It's Monday. Well, I'm not prepared for this. No way, Jose. And I'm telling you that there has been no discussion about this weekend. You know, like Saturday night, I have plans that we've had for a long time. A long time. And when I say a long time, I mean at least six weeks. All right. You're popular. We get it. I'm sorry. I'm wide open. Okay, Skye. Maybe you want to. My calendar is free. Your calendar is wide. I have no plans. Much better way to. Yes, my calendar is wide. You're free this weekend. That's what I mean. There's an echo in here. Shut up. All right. No. Congratulations yourself, Eddie. Eddie is giving himself a hip-hip hooray. Unacceptable. We're all adults. Well said. You really need to stop. I did not sing that in regards to Ashley. You just really need to stop. I did that one year. It all hurts. I didn't work. Turn back. So Friday night, Sunday night, what do you... Friday night, I'm good. Sunday night, we got people coming over for dinner. Or Monday night, I don't know. Friday night or Monday night is her birthday. Yeah. But...
This is what I'm concerned about. Man, I'm thinking, is there other friends that know about something that we don't? Or has nothing been planned at all? What's there to plan? What's the big deal? You are a clown lady. I can't even believe you. I can't even believe you right now. What do you want from me? What do you want me to do? Ferals. We'll go to Ferals. Ferals. Ferals. I think we should write Mark and be like, hey, we got the word about the plan, but what is it again? I lost my invite. Yeah, it's like, you know. He's like, oh, yeah, here it is. This date, blah, blah, blah. Here's a place. I swear on my grandpa. Hey. Every time. Every time. I swear on my grandpa. Stop. The man has been gone for a while. He would not appreciate that. That there's been, there's no plans. I mean, I think Mark told me, like, we'll maybe go to a classy, delicious dinner, but we haven't even picked a night for that, and that's it. Chuck E. Cheese. We'll meet you there. Pizza's on us. Of course. I'm like, I'm sincere. Like, I don't have anything planned. Did you want me to plan something? Well, I mean. I do. It's your birthday. It's your birthday. Do something in the studio. Was she not like us? I don't know. Maybe she did. It's not. It's that. It's just I don't.
I didn't even, I don't, like, the past three. May I interrupt for a minute? Thanks, too, Mike. I've got a question for Skye. Can I ask you guys, like, why is she doing that thing where she's pretending she doesn't understand why we'd like to get together with her? I mean, every birthday, for everyone on the show, we go out and have a nice meal. It's what we do. She attends our birthdays. I like birthdays. Remember Mike's? I really do. I don't know any of your birthday dinners, but for some reason, I feel as though the past three birthday dinners that I've had, like, have gone wrong. Like, something has always happened. And this year, I just want to feel a bit. What was the last year? Was the last year okay? Boy, he's a jolly good fan. No, that was two years ago. That was two years ago. Here, we all remember that all of my friends, like, dipped out on the check. And so, like, Mike and Eddie had to, like, dish out extra cash. And then, you know, then there was the good... Jolly Goodfellow year. And then last year. What was that? What was that? The good Jolly Goodfellow year? Mike, we don't need that. She's going to cry. Is Bobby coming this year? Stop it. Rob? Please. Well, you know that there's a lot of people listening right now that are like, what are they talking about? That is true. Two years ago. Two years ago. That was Ashley's birthday. It was at Geppetto's. Geppetto's. Pizza Grotto.
They make a great galzone. That's right. It was at Filippi's Pizza Grotto in Pacific Beach. Yeah. And, you know. I was dressed like a hooker. Put that right out there. That is a fact. Put that right out there. That is true. That is true. I thought she wasn't dressed that night. No, there was a little fabric. She had some fabric. Covered the areola and that was about it. Pasties is what she had on that night. And so, yeah, it was her and she invited a whole. You are a real hooker. It was like 20 of us or something, you know. We'd get there and, you know, Ashley had, you know, been having a couple of adult beverages and everything. You know, this was. Big surprise. Before rehab, you know. I'm drunk. It was what I did. That's right. And we had an intern on the show at the time who was a good friend of Ashley's. Oh, Bobby. Bobby. Bobby. Oh, Bobby. Bobby. Bobby. Bobby. And so... There was a bit of a jealousy issue with Ashley and Bobby. That is true. I had a lot of... She felt that we treated Bobby differently. Special treatment. Like teacher's pets. Oh, yeah. But your guy was amazing. He had a lot of built-in for that man. He actually was. Really, really amazing.
Now, I'll tell you what was funny about it was that that whole thing, you know, was kind of played out on the air. And it seemed kind of fun and funny. And, you know, we all had a... So, anyway, at the dinner, you know, I'm like, you know, I said to Eddie, I believe this is the way it happened. You correct me if I'm wrong. I said, hey, I'm going to sing for you as a jelly good friend. No, no, no. You gave me the nudge. And you go, hey, watch this. And you go, I'd like to make a toast. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then you, like, said a bunch of nice things, and then you go to Bobby, and then you go to... No, no. The nice things were... I remember exactly how it was. They were a little goofy. They were a little goofy. Never forget it, Eddie. The nice things were a little goofy. No, he did. And then I sang for his... And Ashley. Ashley... breaks into a drunken, maudlin cry. And you guys know how my face gets when I get going. She's an ugly crier. It's really bad. And there was one friend. Well, this went well. Oh, no. Oh, yeah. Jillian from Idaho. It was Sisney. Oh, Sisney. I remember when Jillian broke down because she was moving to Idaho. And Jillian was like, Jillian was like, I can't believe you left you. Oh, Sisney did that.
It was brutal. So my wife and I, we stayed a little bit longer. And then we said, well, we better probably be getting home. Didn't go over so well. I thought it was hysterical. But Ashley's different now. She really is. She's not the same. And I don't remember anything bad happening last year. Well, so last year was awesome, right? But then. I remember I left early because my crazy boyfriend was like, we've got to go to, you know, my brother's concert. So, like, I left all of you guys. Like, I left in the middle of my own birthday dinner. Right. And I felt like a jackass. And so this year I'm just, like, jinxed my past three birthday dinners. I messed them up. I think it's time to turn over a new leaf. Screw it all. You got the love of your life now. That's true, I do. And so it would be good. It wouldn't be bad. Be nice. Okay, well. Okay. So there it is. All right. Quick, let me introduce the rest of the cast. It's Boston Rob on bass. Rob is our phone screener and singer-songwriter, Afro-wearer. Big time. That's right. That thing is huge, that hair is huge. You guys are messing me up in the head. You know that? Oh, come on. You're already messed up in the head. We're not involved in that.
No, because yesterday I contemplated for like 20 minutes on shaving it or not. What happened? I don't know. I think I got distracted and I just started doing something else. You know, whatever you do with your hair is up to you. But where are you going with this? Like, where is this headed? You don't know. No, I do know. You do know? I just want to see. how long I can get it and what it looks like without it being in dreads. But you're growing it up, not out. It's just how it grows. I don't know what you want me to do. I know, I know. You're like Kid from Kid and Play. Seriously. I think in his head he has something in mind. Just like when he did the dreadlocks, he'd seen guys in bands or whatever. He wants to look like a stock of broccoli. Yeah, exactly. That's his motivation. I want to grow it out to see, like, I haven't been able to style my hair in so long. Who's got the look that you're kind of curious what you'll look like with? No one. Okay. There's something. I'm not telling nothing, so. All right. I just feel like you know, you've seen it somewhere, and you're like, I wonder what I would look like if I did that. No, I've seen pictures of me back in high school where I actually had hair, and I could, like, spike it up or style it. I've seen it. It's on the end of a pencil. You can find it.
Good Lord. Neon orange. Well, I've said it a million times. He's so handsome. When he has that short haircut, he looks so handsome. Yeah, but when I get the short hair, you guys are like, why don't you do something with it and grow it out? No one has a short haircut. Short haircut, I see you look good. That is a bull-faced lie, Robert. You are a liar. Who's that handsome devil? And then finally, there is Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates. The third Esquire Jr. Z. That's right. He has a new... It came up yesterday at the end of the show that we are now adding MD. Name wasn't long enough. What does it stand for, the MD? Mumbling disorder? Yes, it is. It's the hair talk. It is. I support his hair. No longer. It's the lack of product talking. Text us at 35253. Call us at 570-1053.
Big story out there today is Don Imus does it again. If it were in the paper, that would be the headline. Don Imus does it again. Also starting something new today, the YouTube clip of the day. Give you some cool audio. YouTube related. Did you see? Oh, man. There's a story in the UT, and it's really going to polarize us on the show. Oh, man. I'm ready. And it's going to polarize people listening. Sky. There was just this story in the UT. And it's this whole trend about parents throwing parties for their kids without presents. What? How are we even going to do that? So all of this is coming up on the show. It's a great show today. Plus Naomi Campbell is upset about a racial slur and it doesn't have anything to do with Imus. So we'll be getting into that. Brian Regan in the stand-up spotlight. Start to say something, and in the middle of what you're saying, you decide to say something else completely. You know, there's already words out there. These friends were leaving the other day, and I started to say, hey, take care. And I decided to say good luck instead, like halfway through, you know. So it came out in either. See you later, Brian. Take luck. Take luck and care. Take care of the luck. Good luck taking care of the luck that you might have. If you have luck, take it. Care for it. Take luck care of when you take off.

You know, they've named that failure known as the U.S. men's basketball team where Kobe Bryant and LeBron James will headline it. Our phone number here is 570-1053. What'd I miss? A joke. That was fantastic to me. It's all right.
He made a sports jokey, and none of us were paying attention to him, unfortunately. We missed it, and we're jerks. Sorry about that. We suck. Yeah, we really suck. Sorry, Eddie. Do you guys know? I bet it was funny. I know it was funny. I bet it was. Do you guys know the Naomi Campbell gollywog doll story? Okay, here's the deal. Apparently, there's something called a gollywog doll, which is considered a racist doll. Like back in the day. Yeah, yeah. Children's literature or something. Picture like blackface, you know. Yeah. Very politically incorrect. That's all you need to know when you're hearing this clip. Cut to. I was called a racial name on that flight. And that was part of my reaction. Naomi defends her rage. Three months ago, Campbell Acosta police in London's Heathrow Airport after a British Airways flight lost her luggage. I was called a godly wog supermodel. I don't think that's really fair.
Do you? Who told you that? Not the passenger. Campbell claims that a British Airways employee likened her to a gollywog doll, this racially offensive rag doll from children's literature. The airline denies this. As for British Airways, I don't apologize. I just think they are disgusting. Did you think that you might go to jail? I'm in England. I'm a black woman. So, in other words, it's okay because, you know, they called me a gollywog. I'm assuming is what she's saying, because she starts to say, I'm not apologizing. Then she kind of stops herself. So it sounds like the tenor is, hey, listen, they called me a racial name, and so I was in my right to get violent. Get violent. Go crazy. Go crazy. Well, yeah, we don't have that here, but we do have other stuff here that we get it, but I don't think you're allowed to go crazy. No, it's that whole sticks and stones thing, Mike. Yeah?
Yeah, sticks and stones. You're not allowed to go crazy. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but I can't freak out on British Airways. I think that is a saying. Very old saying. So, anyway, that's what happened, and that's what she's saying. Speaking of altercations, Ashley got into two of them yesterday. What? Two different women. Oh, this was bad. Arco Station. Left to go get gas, got into an altercation. Two altercations, she says. But I don't know what happened. What happened, Ash? Oh, this is nuts. I got there, and I was on the phone. Wait, you got where? To the Arco gas station. One that I venture to on the rig. Okay, I'm a regular at this Arco gas station. You hit it up whenever. I hit it up on the rig, and I go there, and I go there, and I get a spot.
And I'm on the phone, and I'm getting directions, okay? I'm getting directions, and I'm in the middle of writing them down. Like, I sat down, and she was telling them to me, and I'm like, I'm not going to remember all this. I'm so lost already. I'm really lost already. Like, she in her mind sees it, but we don't. So I'm trying to imagine what she sees. I'm getting directions to go pick up my dog from the best friend's dog. Are you parked at the pump? And I'm at the pump. Are you getting gas? Yes. Or are you in your car? I'm getting gas. I'm in my car. Okay, so the pump is in and it's on and it's turned on. I had just pulled in. So you're just sitting there. But there's no pump in your gas tank. Not yet. Okay. All right, so. You're already driving. So in other words, you're already doing something you shouldn't be doing. I pull in. I'm on the phone. Wait, wait, wait. On many levels. I'd like to establish what she thinks about this. Do you think at this point you've done anything wrong? No. Okay. Hang on. I get arrested. No, I do not. Okay. So, apparently, the lady behind you, what she should have realized is, this is about Sammy right now. Like, hey, I'm on an important phone call, lady. Skye? Were there other pumps open at the time? No. No, I took the last one. Me? Me now? Me? What's your question? If Zeth...
had pulled up to a pump, and there was no other pumps open. I don't like where this is going. And he happened to be on his phone and was not pumping gas yet, and you were behind him waiting. Would that upset you? Well, there was no one behind me waiting. That wasn't my first altercation. Yeah, it would. Can we let her finish? Yeah, please. Okay, now finish. We're sorry. Now finish. All right, so I opened my door. I put one leg out. Too innate that I'm about to pump the gas. But I am getting these directions and I need to write them down. And I'm freaking out because I can't remember them all in my head. So I'm like writing them down really quickly. It was, Mike, no more, and I'm not kidding, than a minute. No more than a minute. That's pushing me. Okay, hang on a second. Everybody stop. We are going to experience dead air for the next 60 seconds. Starting now. It was definitely less than a minute. Oh. So anyways, it was definitely less than a minute. Then it must have been like 20 seconds, 30 seconds. Oh, come on. Here's the thing. We didn't do it. No, no, no. I know. I know. We're not even there. I'll tell you when we are. Oh, yeah, for sure it was less than a minute. This is crazy long. It was like 25 seconds before I talked back to her. Now we're at a minute. Come on. Now we're at a minute. So it was less than that. I'm being generous, saying the most it was a minute.
Okay, so the foot's halfway out the door. And I'm on the phone getting the freaking directions, and I hear this woman go, and this is a woman who's already at a pump. She's at a pump. Pump your gas or what? I ignore her. I'm in the middle of a conversation. I keep talking to her. I'll tell you why she might feel that way. Because she got out of her car, started filling her tank up, and now when she wants to leave, she can't pull straight forward. She wasn't behind me. Now she's got to go. Well, where were you? There's two pumps, and there's a left side and a right side. I was in the front right side. She was in the back left side. Okay. Okay. Was she there already when you had pulled in? Yes. Yeah. I don't know, because, dude, I just all of a sudden hear her yelling at me. She's back there. She might have already been waiting for you. Pumping her own gas. Do you think it had anything to do with the fact that you're not supposed to be on a cell phone at a gas station? It could be, but that's not that lady's deal. No, you don't think that's right. The only, no, no. The only, well.
I mean, it's not her place to let everybody know you can't be on a cell phone. Well, but she feels it's her place to tell Ash. It only is. Listen, the only time I got an issue is if Ash is inconveniencing everybody. Right, exactly. And if this lady's gas tank is on her right side, then she can only go on the right side. She's not going to pump gas on Ashley's side anyway. If Ashley's on the right and this lady's on the left. She can only fill gas on the left-hand side. But I thought Ashley said that there were no spaces available. Well, there weren't, but she already had a space. She was already there. Yeah, and it wasn't like crazy. I didn't have anyone waiting for me. There was no one waiting on my pump. Are you sure? You don't know that. You weren't paying attention. Oh, I was 100% paying attention. No, no, no. It sounds like the lady was a little kooky. If she's yelling at Ashley from diagonally, So I ignore her because that's what I'm saying, Mike. Totally down. I would have understood if she's behind me, if I was holding her up. I would have understood that 100%. This lady had no, I was not affecting her at all. We're on the same page now. All right. And she screams this at me, and I don't like to be screamed at. Don't scream at me like that. What did she scream? Okay. I ignore her. Yeah. I get off the phone. I go, okay. I got to go. I get off the phone, and I hear her talking crap.
to the guy who's behind me pumping gas. And he's going, I don't know what she's doing just sitting there not pumping her gas. I mean, is she going to pump her gas or what? Like, seriously? This is ridiculous. That guy, the guy behind you, I could see him having the complaint. And he's, he doesn't give a rip. Yeah. Because I made eye contact with him and he gave me, like, kind of an apologetic smile. Like, I'm sorry, this lady's being kooky. So by this point, I snap. Okay, I don't know why, but I lost, I mean, Mike, I lost a cork in my head. Like, I snapped. I know why. I stuck my head out. Like, I whipped around because I was still in my car. Turn around and I go, yeah, man. Eddie's got his hand over his eyes, shaking his head. Get out of my head. Like, I turned into a crazy person. Wow, you are so tough. Well, hey, listen. I wasn't even trying to be tough. Like, I was pissed. Eddie's giving me the it's time to break signal. Wasn't there a second incident? That was the first incident. Okay, let's do it. incident on the way out. Let's take a break. Let's take a break. Take a break. Take a break, Mikey. I'll give her this. She recognizes that she's crazy. I mean, it hit me wrong, you know, the way she came at me and I snapped. You gotta screw loose. We should check her call log on her phone to see how long she was actually sitting there. That's a great point. But that I had been on the phone since I left the city.
Oh, wow. That long to get directions? Well, I wasn't getting... I called. Is she ready to be picked up? Yes. Okay. How do I get there? By the time I get there, I got down to the Arco. Hey, Ash, you won't... Did we get a PB? Did you call Kaiser? You won't deny. No, I went straight from the station to go pick up Sammy. Were you at the Arco right here by the station? Yeah. Oh, I thought you said PB. Yeah. She said the one she went to. Well, we know this. We know how long it takes to get to the Arco. Yeah. We can figure it out pretty easy. Bring your cell phone in. Let's see how long you're on there. Oh, she didn't want to. She didn't want to. Irrelevant. No, no, no, Ash. Because I had been on the phone prior to me getting to the gas station. But you said that you got on the phone when you left the station. Yeah, but that's not the accurate part. Like when I called to getting there, how does that work? Check it out. If you were on the phone for, say, 10 minutes, right? It takes about three minutes to get from here to the ARCO. So simple math says if you were on the phone ten minutes, that means you were sitting there seven. But what if I called her while driving halfway down to the ARCO? So then it'd be a minute and a half. But I don't know exactly when I called her. Or called the plate. You called when you left here. But I don't know that for a fact, and that's not the point, because I'm admitting that I was wrong. We'll be right back. We'll be right back.

The 911 tape has been released of Linda Hogan calling 911 while following the Hulk in her car but complaining that he was violating her restraining order. The Shaq and Kobe feud is now getting really ugly as Shaq does an impromptu rap in a club Sunday night about Kobe. It's pretty nuts, man. This is a big story this morning.
Yeah, I mean, it was this weird thing, man. And what do you think, Eddie, he was thinking? Well, he's probably thinking, I'm at a club. There's nobody that has like a video recorder at this club. So I'm going to do this and, you know, nobody will ever see it. But the people here in the club and I can get away with it. But what Shaq doesn't apparently realize is that everything. Well, is recorded these days and put on YouTube and all that stuff. And so this is like an amateur video of him being shot doing this rap at a club. And, you know, it's everywhere. Cut 40. Check it. You know how I be. Last week Kobe couldn't do without me. You know how I be. Last week Kobe couldn't do without me. I call myself big, but I'm not as little as Biggie. I call myself big because I live next to Denny. Excuse me, Denny lived next to me. So in a real dog, I feel like B.I.G. Because if Biggie was still here, he would fight there. On Star Island in a mansion somewhere killing. Sitting on about half a billion.
It ain't about that. It's about B.I.G. A.K.A. Big Shaq. So he's got stuff about white people in there. He talks about, like, Kobe was the reason why he got a divorce and, like, all kinds of crazy stuff. And then he starts getting into, like, really offensive stuff towards the end of it. And, I mean, it's just really bizarre. The thing that's strange about it, too, is obviously that this was, you know, let me sit down and write some stuff out. Do you think he wrote that out? I don't think that was impromptu. You don't think that was free-flowing? I mean, it was terrible. I don't think he's that good. Really? I don't think he's that good. So he was just making it up? I thought he did. I mean, I thought it was terrible. Yeah? So, you know, I mean, there was nothing. But that was the idea. It's a free flow, and he just, whatever comes to his mind. I thought so, but maybe not. You could be right. I think he jotted some notes down. Yeah. Who knows? But if he did, well, if he did, it's odd. Yeah, very. The whole thing's odd. Absolutely.
The whole thing's odd. And it's just a weird time for that to come out now. I mean, I thought that that feud was kind of dead and buried. Here's the thing that I really take away from this is that a lot of us, man, we go, wouldn't it be great to win the lottery? Wouldn't it be great to be a millionaire? Rob. You know what I mean? I know exactly what you mean. I think that that's a pretty good example of how happy you can be. If you can be happy being poor, you can be happy being rich. Go ahead, Shaq, please. Shaquille O'Neal, ladies and gentlemen. Yo, yo. Go ahead, Shaq. Let me speak on this. Yeah, Shaquille O'Neal is in the studio. Shaq, what do you think about this? What can you tell us? I wasn't talking about Kobe Bryant. You were not talking about Kobe Bryant? Who were you talking about? Kobe Beef. Kobe, wait a minute. Kobe divorce? How did Kobe Beef cause your divorce? Why so? So you ate Kobe beef. Why not just stop eating Kobe beef? I love it. I respect that. Hang on a second, though. Don't ask me any questions. I have one question. Can I just ask one? We're talking with Shaquille O'Neal. Shaquille, don't you think that if you use the word Kobe, people are naturally going to assume you're talking about your former teammate and...
rival, Kobe Bryant. Whoa. That's not true. I mean, how are we supposed to believe you? That's ridiculous. No, you don't. And I'm not talking about my friend. Wait a minute. Do you have a friend named Lasagna, too? So you do. You're saying that you do. You're actually sitting here right now in front of us saying you have a friend named Lasagna as well. All right, Shaquille O'Neal, if that's a deal, I mean, that's what you're saying it's about. Then I guess we got to take you at face value. Thank you. Eddie, should weep?
play P1 Password. Do we have time or what do you think that we should do at this point? I would think that that would be an exciting moment on the show. I really do. I think it would be an exciting moment. Yes, it's time to play this show. Seriously, did you process that? Here's how we play P1 Password. What we do Is we reach into a JC towing baseball cap. That's odd. And we pull out a couple of names, okay? And those names are people here on the show. Does that make sense? That does, right? Yes. People here on the show. is going to have to communicate these words to you without saying the word. And they can do it only through using a word. They get a total of three. Get a total of three. But they can't say like a sentence. They can only use a word. A single word. A single word. And they can have up to three clues to give you. You have to get five out of seven. You can pass twice. You can pass twice. But if you've got to pass more than that, forget it. It's done. And either of you can pass. Sky can pass. If Sky is frustrated with you as the caller, she can say, forget it, let's go to another one. But she can only do that three times. Same thing with you. You know, if you're getting frustrated and Sky's trying to give you help and you feel like, you know what, this ain't happening, just say pass. It's that easy. What's the prize, Eddie? There it is. P1, the dude, is on the line. Yes. Greetings and salutations. Yeah, greetings and salutations to you as well. How are you, the dude? Sober. I'm good. Nice. I'm up early this morning. There you go. What part of town are you from? University Heights. You're not drinking a white Russian right now? You are not? No. You're saying you are not? Not. I'm making a cup of tea. There you go. All right, the dude, here's who you're going to be playing with. I'm reaching into the baseball cap. Come on. a name, and the name is... You're in luck, the dude. Is Honey Baked Ham one word? Well, that's... We're a team here, bro. We're a team. We're working as a team to win you a prize. Started off on the wrong foot there. Alright, so here's how the game is played. You're not going to hear the word that she's trying to describe, but the audience will. Okay.
And that's it. You just got to get five out of seven. Does that make sense? Okay. Here we go. Sweater. Shirt. Knitted. Sweater. You got it. Ham. Food. Edible. Yes. Excuse. Here we go. Mildew. Mold. Panasonic. Mold. Damp. Humid. Pass. Chat. Wonderful. Internet? That's it? That's it? Sorry. I thought it's over. No, he has one more guess. Communicate? Sorry, bro. Sorry. Not going to happen. I thought that they can only pass a certain amount of time. Twice. So he has to keep guessing until he's wrong. Sky had already passed twice, so there was no more pass. Sorry, brother. You gave it your best shot, dude. How did you not hit mildew? Please. Well, you said bold twice. Well, I thought, I mean.
I mean, usually what you're guessing is. Mold. Another mold is mildew. Mold. Mold. With Ashley. Yeah, right. I would rather not comment. Yes. That was an obvious attack. The word was excuse. And after she said Ashley, she didn't know how else to describe it. P1 Bond. That was great. Good, man. How are you? Not too bad. Where are you calling from? All right, cool. How old are you, bro? You ready to give this a shot? Yes, I am. Okay, I got to reach into the hat and see who your partner is. Come on, honey. Is. Boob. Two words. This time, we're going to do it up. Good. Yeah, you are. All right. Okay, are you ready? Yes, I am. Here we go. Raft. Rapids. River. Life. Elliptical. Holy cow. Exercise. Running.
Machine. Step. Yes. Gate. Fence. Barrier. Heavens. Next word. Rosary. Catholic. Pre. Pray. Search. Beads. And I think that that's kind of the way you have to do it, right? You kind of got to go quick, you know? I get the feeling you kind of got to go quick. You got to go quick, yeah. Otherwise, we're running out of time. It's really got to be a team effort. Like, whoever's on the phone's got to answer quick because it's like you guys are kind of trying to. Yeah, we got to kind of get into a mind meld, a mind meld. A meld the mind. Melding of the minds. Milk it. What? That last one there. Rosary. The one before that with fence and heavens. It was gate.
The word was gate. Sorry about that, bro. No problem. Thank you for playing. Next up, P1 Jason. Jason, how you doing, man? Doing good, Mikey. We're going to try this one more time. Please, Jason, please. I'm reaching into the bag of tricks. I need to get a winner at this game. Ladies and gentlemen, the name is Eddie. Finally! We got it. Finally! Grab it, baby. Let's do this, Jason. Eddie, you can do this. All right. Are you ready, Jason? I'm ready. Here we go. Tattoo. Ink. Smell. Arm. Pit. Needle. Bane. Necktie. Suit. Jacket. Chart. What? Chart. Question. No, no, no, no. Eddie was asking what the word was. Still didn't understand it. Let's go to a different word. Let's go to a different word. Yarn. Crochet.
Darn. Perfect. You got it. Frame. Picture. Camera. Surrounding. Scenery. Inside. Next word. I'm done. That's it. Sorry, man. Sorry about that, dude. That's P1 Jason. I got to tell you, we've done this in the office and it's great. How did he not get tattooed? Dude, I don't know what else to say. I don't know. I don't know. When you first said ink, I think he heard stink. So when you said arm, he said pit. No, like armpit. Yeah, because when Eddie said ink, he said smell. Smell. Yeah. I wonder if we could try it. But we could try it with us. Headphones off. Oh, we'd do great. Oh, we'd kill it. We'd kill it because let me tell you something. Eddie and Skye, it was so fun watching them do it back in the office because they mind meld. They were really good. They mind meld. And, you know, we've been communicating with each other for so long.
That all Skye had to say was, you know, like, and it would be weird. It would be bizarre. She'd be, like, wooden, and Eddie'd go, taffy. Yeah, it's like the words oil, and Skye would be, like, motor. Yeah. Like, oil. Let's do it. I want to try it. Let's take a break. Take a break. Take a break. And when we come back, we're going to watch Eddie and Skye mind meld. She doesn't know. They don't know what any of these words are. No. Because I had these words loaded without their knowledge. They don't know what these words are. And so basically, Skye's going to have to take her headphones off. Eddie will be trying to communicate with her. And we'll see how well it goes. That's coming up next. Don't go anywhere. People will pick on Skye or Ashley or giving Eddie or Sean stuff. Every one of you are great. Thank you, man. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock.

Here's another Mikey moment. Hey, how was your brother's wedding, Ashley? Like, literally, Sana, who was now my brother's wife. It was in a sauna? You guys did this. It was hot out there, man. I'm so confused. It was so hot. Her name's Sana. She said that. She's very Dutch. And if it rains. Why would you get in a sauna? She's 100% Dutch. Did you give a toast or do any of that stuff? Totally gave a toast. And we had a lot of toast. Like, you know, Sana's mom, Sana's dad, Sana's sister. And that was all in Dutch, so the interpreter took a while. And then they had to sign it. That's right. So you have to do all that toast.
Then the clogged money dance. And now it's the dance of the windmill. The Mikey show continues. Welcome back to the show. It is 736. The FAA is investigating the cause of a small plane crash off Oceanside after their reports that the pilot may have intentionally entered a spin. Still looking for an excuse, video shows that Big Brown had a loose... Horseshoe in the Belmont. You've got to be kidding me. My horseshoes are on nice and tight. They should be. It's very important. I am not wearing sandals because Rob says that I will be denying myself of the incredible feeling of taking off my shoes and socks. When you wore sandals yesterday, how do you feel when you kick those off? Nothing, right? I got home. I kicked those suckers off. I looked down at my feet like, man, nothing is going on around here.
There was no relief. There was just nothing to, and then I thought to myself, I am never going to not have something to look forward to ever again. And so, yeah, he tried. He tried to warn me. He tried. Welcome back to the show. It is 737, and the big news this morning is the Don Imus stuff. Oh, yeah. Big news today is the Don Imus stuff. Don Imus yesterday on his radio show, Cut 5. There are women there, and people have guns. So anyway, go ahead. Well, he's been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005. What color is he?
He's African-American. There you go. Now we know. He wants to drop his nickname. There it is. It's pretty rough, man. When you hear it, it is pretty rough. And it's, you would think, not something that would be easy to defend. Right. But he gave it a shot this morning. I don't have the cut number, but go ahead, Sean. Well, Warren and I were talking yesterday about Pac-Man Jones. Being arrested six times, which I think was just, you know, it was obviously the picking on him. So I asked Warner what color he was. Well, obviously I already knew what color he was. That's what the point was. In order to make a sarcastic point, I asked Warner what color he was. Warner tells me. I said, well, there you go. That's the point.
That was the only point, to try to turn that into that I meant something else. When there are two black people sitting on the set and an African-American who's the producer of the television part of the program, Tom Bowman. I mean, that's insane. Okay. Options. Here's the options. Don Imus is faced with options. One option is, one way or the other, you've got to go on and explain. Okay? Because you can't just say, oh, man, I'm sorry I said that. You have to give an explanation. Okay, there has to be an explanation. So question for you guys and everybody listening. And our text number is 35253. And our phone number is 5701053. So options. Let's say one option is exactly what you just heard. I didn't mean that. I was trying to defend Pac-Man Jones. You know, boy, I thought it was just terrible what's happening to the African-American community. What with all these.
arrests for no reason. Okay, so that's one. Or, and you may not agree with this, you may not agree with what this suggestion is and what he's about to say. It may not be your philosophy. I just want to know which one hits you in a better place. Or he goes on and he says, listen, there's been a lot of black athletes in the NFL that have been arrested, and frankly, I'm sick of it. And I wish that somebody from the African-American community would stand up and say, I'm sick of it, too. Be a good example to African-Americans and shake up the African-American community in the NFL and say, stop this. We have to put a stop to it. I'm sick of you guys being arrested over and over and over again. Now, maybe you listen to that and you go, I don't agree with that. It's not just blacks that are being arrested in the NFL. There's white guys that get arrested in the NFL, too. I'm just asking you, if you had to make a choice between the two things to be said, one of them says you're dumb. I believe that you're dumb, and because I believe that you're dumb, I'm going to offer you this one. I'm going to lie to you, and you're going to believe it. Well, yeah, you're dumb. Because you're stupid. You're stupid. Listen, I know that anything I say, you're going to buy it because you're dumb. Right.
The other one is a pretty bold opinion, but it doesn't sound like I think you're stupid. And I think that that's going to be the thing that's going to incite the African-American community. Because I don't think anybody... First of all, when it begins with what color are they, it's going to be tough. Thank you. Who says that? What race is he? No, what color is he? What color? There you go. He's purple. Salmon. Like a sandal stone. Sandalwood. Do you know anything about chocolate? Magenta. A little coffee. Coffee, yes. Crazy. 570-1053. That's a crazy person, Mike. Our text number is 35253. Or do your mother. Oh, no. Barbara, you should not be talking on this. I'm a black one.
You're not a black woman. I am, too. Listen to your voice. Barbara. No, that doesn't work. It does, too. I was getting my hair did. Oh, he'll hear me, though. Just yesterday. But remember, we talked about this, Barbara. Last time you called, you told us you were Muslim. Yeah, you said you were Muslim. And we asked, why do you always get your hair did if you cover it up with a scarf? With a scarf, right. Exactly. See, thank you, Skye. So, anyway, so I was getting my hair did. And I said to the lady that was doing my hair, I go, man, this Ima stuff is just offensive, isn't it? And she looked at me and she said, yeah, it is. And I said, listen here, I want you to go over there and I want you to put a Rihanna CD on for me. And I'm going to put you and I'm going to do a little parody song. And you people don't understand because you're not a part of the African-American community. I know that it's pronounced Rihanna. Are you? Is it Rihanna? Yes. What did I say? I know that. I know that. I said that? Yeah, you did. Oh, my goodness. I was thinking of the...
person that I am big brother, big sister to. Oh, really? So listen here, honky-tonk. Don't call us that. He's a cracker. All my peeps know it. And he's going to get in trouble for it. And you want to know something else, Eddie? What's that? You knows this. Just because you say it. That is so weird. And a one, and a two, and a one, two. I'll get it. And to the left, to the left. Every time with Beyonce. Beyonce, every time. That's your stuff. I guess you better go. And that means that you're in a lot. You used to do a lot of blow. Okay, Barbara, you can't just say this. Wait a minute. Am I slurring right now? You are really a man. You're just out of it. Am I slurring? Whispering doesn't make it better. Can you hear me right now? Well, yeah. I don't even know what that means. You have to answer me. Yes. Okay, I haven't talked. Okay. Bye. Oh, what was that? That was weird. It sounded like she kissed the phone. That was strange. I don't like that woman. How strange. Very uncomfortable. 570-1053.
And our text number is 35253. What do you think about all this stuff? Hey, P1 Mohawk, what's up? How are you doing today? Good. Yeah, I'm just, I'm a little tired of the double standard that happens every time, you know, a white guy says something like that. What about, you know, Shaq's rap against white people? What about, you know, Chris Rock saying he's not afraid of Al-Qaeda, he's afraid of Al-Cracker? Okay. What about... Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, I mean, they're always talking about it. Yeah, yeah, well, Al Sharpton did the Hymeetown. He made the Hymeetown comment. But here's my question. Is this the philosophy of two wrongs make a right? Or is it no, no, no? It's just it should be okay no matter who's saying what. No, no, I agree with you. It's not right either way. It's just the backlash that's happening because... you know, of the situation. If it had been a black DJ saying that, the backlash would not be nearly as great as it is now. And I'm not saying what Don Imus said was right. You know, he shouldn't have said that. But the double standard here is that all of a sudden, bam, you have everybody on top of him. Well, we were on top of Shaq this morning as well. That's how you heard it. I know, I know, and that's true. But not everybody is.
You know, you don't have... What do you mean by everybody? What do you mean by that? Well, I'm just talking about, like, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpe. Can you imagine what would happen if, you know, they're probably going to say something about it, but when it's the other way around, you don't have a bunch of people, you know, a bunch of white people getting up in arms over Chris Rock. I happen to love Chris Rock. I don't know. I think you had seven people on the Mikey show this morning play the Shaq thing going, whoa, that is weird. What are you doing, Shaq? Yeah, I agree. I mean, I think it is weird, but I'm just talking about the majority of people. I mean, you have to admit that you're not going to get as big of a hit on a black person saying something like that as you are a white person, and that's just the way it is. Well, I had an interesting conversation with my oldest brother, Mark. We'd go at it. He's a liberal. I'm a conservative, and we were going at it. And he makes this point, and I don't know what people think about it, but, you know, whites haven't experienced racism. So when the guy says, well, you know, Jack's saying his stuff. How come, you know, how come we don't double standard? Well, bro, we, you know, the whites, we haven't really experienced racism. I'm Mexican. What am I saying? We, I guess I'm saying that because I don't speak Spanish, but.
You know, whites haven't really gone through what the African-American community has gone through. So there's a little higher sensitivity. Are we really unclear why that is? Right. I mean, really, dude? I don't get it. You really don't get it? Are we confused? Mikey, I think he was trying to defend blacks. Maybe he thought that that would kind of help him out from the last incident. But he could have worded it better. What color are you? What color is he? Oh, well, there you go. Well, and then his partner says, his partner says he's African-American. And Ima says, well, there you go. Now, what he doesn't say is, what he doesn't say is, and that's just another example of these poor African-Americans being targeted. Yeah, what he doesn't say and what he doesn't even hint at is any of the junk he's saying today. Sure. I mean, not even a hint of it. That's true. Please.
Mikey, I actually heard the remark yesterday. The first thing I thought was the racial profiling part. The media is blowing this up because of his past. He won hog. Really? So when he said that, you thought to yourself, man, that's really a good thing that Imus is doing there. Imus is standing up for the African-American community like he always has. Like, hold on a second. With the reputation that he has. Thank you. You know, his comments today about Pac-Man being, you know, he shouldn't have been arrested six times and all that stuff. And, you know, maybe once. Dude, what are you talking about? Like, that's so untrue. If they were reporting on a story about a doctor who's a father and an African-American that was arrested for jaywalking, you know, okay, maybe I can see you arguing that point. But he was talking about Pac-Man Jones. Like, please. That's crazy. Yeah, you know, Pac-Man Jones, if we were talking about Bryant Gumbel. Thank you. Thank you. I could see the eye man saying, wow, this is really unfortunate. Sounds like the guy was being targeted just because he's black. But we're talking about Pac-Man Jones. Mike, he asked what color he is. Hello. Does anybody remember that he did?
Hey, listen, P1 Sarah's on the line. She says, hey, whites experience racism too. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hang on a second, Sarah. I just got to make an observation. I think it might upset some people in the African-American community listening this morning on the Mikey Show that Sarah starts things off by saying, Mikey, check it out. You're sounding as white as, I mean, you're not. Not necessarily sounding like a girl that's just been through the ringer. Persecution. Persecution, you know. Years of it. Yes, years of persecution in that voice. The bus, that's where she's calling from. Exactly. Mikey, I am calling you, and I've had to wait 20 minutes for my last day this morning, and you don't even know. It's because I'm white. I don't even know what I've gotten through. Yeah, I'm a white guy. Okay, but Sarah, I'm willing to hear you out. What did you want to say?
Yes, who could forget the very popular civil rights Scottish and Irish acts? That were invoked in the 1960s because of all of the racism against the... Well, and you have a point. 400 years of racism. I mean, the Scottish slaves, you don't remember that? Well, that's what I'm saying. You have a point. Like the Irish, yeah, they were looked at as, you know, lower class and not treated the same, but they were never enslaved here in America. Well, not only were they... And that's a huge... And it was turned around quick. I mean, that didn't last as long as when you compare it to African-Americans. You know, you still have African-Americans enslaving each other, you know, in different parts of the world. But what does that have to do with this? No, no, no, no, no. If you could, just answer that question because maybe you have an answer. What does that have to do with American racism?
I guess it doesn't have to do with white guilt. I mean, people who are white... It has to do with white guilt, you're saying? Like the racism against blacks in other countries. It has to do with America. But the fact of the matter is that white people are, you know, we have to say we're sorry for the things that our ancestors did, which we deserve to, because it wasn't right. But what I'm saying is, is that, you know, I think that... Even though there's things that are being done to enslave other people and other cultures, today, even though we abolished slavery many years ago, white people are still having to apologize for that. Again, it doesn't have anything to do with what's happening in other countries. It doesn't have anything to do with us. Well, and we don't have to apologize, Mike. We just need to treat people equally. We don't need to go around apologizing to every African-American person we meet. We just need to treat them as an equal. Yeah. That's it. She's right.

I really think that ice cubes from, like, refrigerator ice cube trays are disgusting. Boston Rock. I'm a grown-ass man. Show me some respect. And Ashley. I am a very forgiving person. On Rock 105.3. What about this song? Know what I'm saying? Amy Winehouse's spokesman has issued a statement to clarify that Amy only has the early signs of what could lead to emphysema from smoking crack cocaine. Georgia comes back to beat Fresno State in game one of the College World Series. So, the Imus stuff. Yesterday on Don Imus' radio show, he said this. Got five. Defensive back Adam Pacman Jones, recently signed by the Cowboys. Here's a guy suspended all of 2007 following the shooting in a Vegas nightclub. Well, stuff happens.
You're in a nightclub, for God's sake. What do you think's going to happen in a nightclub? People are drinking and doing drugs. There are women there, and people have guns. So anyway, go ahead. Well, he's been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005. What color is he? He's African-American. There you go. Now we know. He wants to drop his nickname. Now we know what. Yeah. Now we know why he was arrested. It's because he was being profiled by awful, racist, white. Yes. It had nothing to do with the gunfire inside the strip club? Yeah. Okay. Nope. How out of it are those two? First of all, it was a nightclub. It was a strip club. And that doesn't happen in every nightclub where they shoot people up and do drugs. See, to me, that's... Like, if I were to listen to that, having no knowledge of any of this, that's, to me, where I miss is being sarcastic. Being like, oh, yeah, in every nightclub there's shootings, you know? And to me, that's where the sarcasm is. I can't tell because he's so old. You can't hear through the cobwebs? I can't hear the sarcasm. Through the sarcasm dust. Mikey, you can't name the last non-black person in the NFL that has repeated arrests. And was it a non-black?
Was it non-black people starting the melees and brawls in the NBA? No black people need to start, no. Black people need to start acting right and not being the examples of stereotypes, and people will stop stereotyping black behavior. That's P1 Big Joe. Well, I can name a white football player. It was Jared Allen, who had two DUI arrests a couple years ago. So, I mean, give me a break. There you go. Mikey, I'm black, and what Don said was dumb and stupid. He was not trying to defend blacks and Pac-Man, and Pac-Man does deserve every penalty he received. He's a P1 schoolteacher.
Mikey, in the end, it doesn't matter who upsets because freedom of speech protects his right to say stupid, ignorant things. That's P1 Concrete Cowboy. I agree. Absolutely does, but it's also the rights of people to not like it and the right of his company to fire him. 570-1053 is the phone number, and our text number is 35253. P1 Affirmative Action is on the line. Good morning. What Don Imus said didn't surprise me. You know, like, he says stuff like that all the time. And now that it's becoming more prevalent, people are offended by it. He said something the first time. He's like, well, wow. You know, he said something again. And from what the guy said earlier, Chris Rock, for example, makes fun of everybody. He makes fun of himself. He makes fun of his family. He makes fun of black people. He makes fun of white people. He said, what are the ingredients of Kool-Aid? Purple, water, and sugar. He makes fun of everybody but Don Imus.
cookie cart. You know, he doesn't make statements like that towards anyone else. And as what you just said, that guy, I think his name is Travis Hamilton. He plays for the Texas Rangers. He had this big Coke problem. He's been arrested so many times. He got kicked out of it. Major League Baseball. Don, I didn't say anything about that. You see what I'm saying? Do you think, let me ask you a question. Do you think P1 Affirmative Action that just as many White guys are involved in arrests in the NFL as black guys. No, there aren't as many white people. Yeah, there's not very many white people in the NBA. Whites are the minority there. White men can't jump. Yeah. So let me, it's kind of like this. I wonder if there are more white arrests or black arrests in the NHL. I wonder if there are more white arrests than black arrests in NASCAR. Yeah, that's the thing. I don't even think he was making fun here. That's kind of what made it sound a little worse.
I don't think he's making fun. I think he's making a social commentary. I think people should expect it. If he's not going to get fired, people should just expect it. You got to pick that Scott. I don't know, man. I think this one might get real bad. Speak on it. That's right. It's P1 Affirmative Action. Thank you. P1 laughs a lot. This is a comedian. He's supposed to say stupid crap. Do you think that was a joke? Yeah, that's the funniest stuff I've ever heard. Wait, did you think that that one was a joke? Yeah, that's totally a joke. No, you didn't. You didn't think that. You thought, listen, listen. When he made the Rutgers comment, he was trying to make a joke. And I agree. You have to think of it in context. The guy does a comedy show. There's no doubt about it. It's political commentary mixed with sarcasm, wit, and humor.
That's what his show is. No doubt about it, bro. And when he made the comment about the Rutgers female basketball players, he was trying to make a joke. In this particular thing that we just played, he wasn't trying to make a joke, and you know that as well as I do. We're not dumb. I laughed. I thought it was funny. Stay on the line. I'm going to play it for you one more time. And tell me if you think that this is meant to be... Now, the Rutgers thing, I get it's meant to be a joke. He's meaning to sound funny. And I want you to notice, by the way, how funny his partner thinks it is. Right. Okay? I agree. Okay, I want you to listen to his partner. And I want you to notice how... You know, just uproarious laughter comes from his partner after he makes his comment. Because maybe you're right. Maybe I'm not hearing the... That is a good one. Let's play it again. Cut five. Defensive back Adam Pacman Jones, recently signed by the Cowboys. Here's a guy suspended all of 2007 following the shooting at a Vegas nightclub. Well, stuff happens.
You're in a nightclub, for God's sake. What do you think's going to happen in a nightclub? People are drinking and doing drugs. Yeah. There are women there, and then people have guns. So anyway, go ahead. Well, he's also, he's been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005. What color is he? He's African-American. Oh, well, there you go. Okay, now we know. Well, he wants to drop his nickname. Where was the part where you started laughing? The whole thing. Hey, what do you think about how funny his partner thought it was? How come his partner didn't laugh? I don't know. He doesn't have a good sense of humor. No. Like you? Yeah. Hey, brother, I'm going to be... Listen, you know me, man. I'm just... I'm always... I try to call it as I see it. And that's why I don't think it's the most popular thing to say that I think that he meant the Rutgers deal as a joke. Because I do. I don't think that's very popular to say, but I... My part of I-ness is the Rutgers and this. And they've both been funny.
I've never heard of him before. Well, you know, what's funny, I'll tell you what's hysterical to me, is that he's not even saying what you're saying. Yeah. He's not even saying that what he said was a joke. Interesting. What he's saying is that he was defending Pac-Man Jones because he thinks that he's been targeted. So, interesting that you're finding it to be funny. Well, I took it funny. Yeah, he didn't mean it funny. And even he admits that. So, okay. Listen, you think it's funny. You're allowed. You know, it's America, man. Well, he's P1 laughs a lot. We live in America. You are P1 laughs a lot. I mean, the guy likes to laugh. I mean, Sneezy sneezed. What did you want from Sneezy? Sleepy was tired. Feel-good comedy of the year, apparently. Hey, listen, everybody's entitled to their opinion, man. That's what you think. That's what you think. Thank you, brother. This email says, good morning, Mikey show. So, whatever happened to Ashley's second story? You cut the break, and when you came back on the air, you moved on. What was the second? Was the second story not worth it? I didn't hear the second story. Okay, so, yeah, what was the second story? See what happened if you missed it. Ashley went to Arco Station yesterday. Got into a brawl. She got into two altercations with two women. The first altercation was Ashley was talking on her cell phone, and this lady said to her, are you going to pump your gas already? And Ashley kind of shot back to her.
Anybody else have a problem? What do you got a problem with what I'm doing? I'm going to beat your asshole, lady. So then what happened? I'd like to state for the record, though, that I absolutely think that I was in the wrong. I have a temper sometimes, you know, and I feel bad now. Well, you know, I'm a little feisty, but I do feel bad. You know what I mean? I obviously didn't mean to be as rude as I was. Do you think? I was really rude. Let me ask you this. Let me ask you this. Ash. Yeah. You know, do you think that it was wrong to do what you did or do you think that you were warranted in doing what you did? At the time, felt like I was warranted because I felt like she was... What color was the woman? Oh, there you go. I couldn't even see her because she was at the pump diagonal. Right. You know, I didn't even see her. I just looked back and started yelling back. You know, I think we both were in the wrong. I think there's a better way to handle that situation. Oh, we're both right. I think there's a better way to handle the situation from both of our points of view. Oh, man. So I'm leaving the gas pump. Put the thing in.
I know. Hothead over here is like freaking out. I would have screamed at you. I would have lit your car on fire. You're taking your time talking on the phone. Hey, I'm not joking around. Don't cut me off. What are you doing? What are you doing on your cell phone there, miss? Guy's got a little anger. This doesn't look like the cell phone parking lot at the airport. Even though you're pumping your gas? Yeah, even though I'm pumping my gas. What's the second story? What's the second story? I just want to get through all the anger if I can. I know it. Well, I was just, I put the thing back in. Your anger appreciation station. I put the gas thing back in the pump holder. Got in my car. Now, this is after you'd yelled. Does anybody else want any of this? I didn't say that. I thought you said, does anybody else have a car? No, I said that I got out of my car, and that's how I looked. Like, I looked like it. Oh, okay. I thought she said she did, Eddie. Verbally, what I said was, well, I'm pretty sure that I didn't know that there was a time limit on how long it takes to pump your gas. And you know what? Thanks, sweetheart, because now I'm going to take my sweet time pumping my gas. So thanks for pointing that out. And I got out of my car like, does anybody else?
want to come at me, and no one did, because I'm tough. They were afraid. She's so tough. I do yoga. She was so blonde, you know, that they were like, holy cow. Look at how worked up she is. She's sweating all over the place. She's flopping at the pits. Well, this one guy was going to do something, and his wife was like, honey, she will sweat all over you. I was really sweaty. It was a hot one yesterday. So then what? So then I put the gas thing back in the pump holder. I get in my car, shut the door. I turn on the car. I roll down the windows. I put my phone in the charger. I put my pen away from the directions I was writing. So I'm getting ready to leave. Some woman pulls up behind me and honks. Different woman. Gets right on my tail and honks like I'm not taking. Well, Ash. At this point, you're angry, and you're taking your sweet time now. No, I genuinely wasn't. You just said that that's what you were going to go, and it was your words. Your words were, and now I'm going to take my sweet time. This was a different woman. I know, but you've already said that you were going to take your sweet time. Taking your time. Pumping the gas. Right. Oh, oh, oh.
So you're clarifying. The only thing that you were going to take your sweet time with was just pumping the gas. In no way did I mean to infer I would take my sweet time with anything other than the gasoline. After pumping the gasoline, not only would I be timely, speedy, and hustly, I would try to be looking out for my fellow man. I get what you're saying, Ash. I don't know. Yes, Ashley, like... Once I jumped in my car, I was over my tantrum. Yeah, when I get in my car after pumping gas, like, I do it a bit differently. Like, there's things you need to do. Like, you need to put on your seatbelt, you put the receipt in your wallet, blah, blah, blah. But what I do if somebody's waiting is I pull forward from the pump and then stop, like, in the kind of common area and let them pull to the pump. But what Ashley's doing is she's doing her few little things, putting the... Phone on the charger, blah, blah, blah. Can I ask you something else? Well, someone's behind her. She's not, like, dawdling while she's doing it, but she's doing stuff. Because you said you do blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah. Okay, tell me what you do after you just got into an altercation with someone and said you were going to take your sweet time. Well, she meant she was going to take her sweet time pumping the gas. Just that, though. Yeah, because she was only directing it towards that one lady. Got it.
This guy's right. Once you were done with that, you wanted to be on your way. Once I closed the door, I was out. Like, genuinely. All right. Closed the door. I'm putting on the ignition. I'm getting ready. And this woman had been waiting in line, snuck through the barriers, came up right on my tail, and honked. She doesn't wear her bangs like that anymore. Seth, she wouldn't be fixing her bangs like that because she doesn't wear the bangs like that anymore. That's looking in the rearview mirror. Okay, Eddie is doing it now. I like your base. Adjust the bangs down, straight down now. You don't pull them to the side. Now, may I just say one thing? And then I won't do it. Then you'll take your face. I like your base. I just want to say, if two different people had the same problem with you, could it possibly be that maybe you were taking too long? No. I'll be her attorney. Okay, yes. Please help. No, I'm here to represent Miss Ashley. Yes. And no, the truth is that she was not taking too long. And by the way, were any of you there? No, we weren't. Thank you. Actually, we weren't. Actually, I've reviewed the tape. I've reviewed the tape. My client left immediately. But she just said she didn't. Okay, but. She took her sweet time. Excuse me. Court reporter, can you read back, please, what she said in her statement?
When she was yelling at the previous woman, she said, I didn't know there was a time limit. Objection. Objection. Objection. Yes. Objection. Yes. That is immaterial. What's that word? How is it immaterial? When one thing doesn't have to do with the other thing. You're the lawyer. It's irrelevant. You're the lawyer. It's irrelevant. Directly to the amount of time she's taking. It's irrelevant. If she screams, I'm going to take my sweet time, then that is absolutely relevant. Taking her sweet time meant in pumping the gas. Once my client was done pumping the gas, she wanted to get out of there. How do you pump your gas slowly? Either you squeeze the trigger or you don't. Contrary to popular belief, my client was not wanting to camp out there that night. She had some things to do. She had to leave. Two different eyewitnesses who I will call to the stand. have claimed that she took her sweet time. Who are these eyewitnesses? I've gotten to know. They're women. That needs to be evidence. That has to be evidence that I've not seen. I've not seen this ever. Crazy women. In a polite manner, are you going to fuck your gas or are you going to sit there on your phone? I want to hear what happened after the honk. What did you do? So... I killed her. What did you do? What happened? Hold on. She honked. Yeah. So I put my car in park. I rest my case. And I waited for her to kill her.
She came up to your window? She came up to my window. On the phone, by the way. She was on the cell phone. Who the heck's on the phone at a gas station? I know. So rude. So rude, Sky. I'm a stenographer. So rude, Sky. I'm like, you know, if you have an issue with me, could you maybe hang up on your call so important? Right, right. So she walks up to my window, and I'm ready. I mean, I am on one. I really lost my mind yesterday. It was crazy. We know. So she comes up to my window. I roll it down. Good job, lady. I thought it was already rolled down. Okay, then it was. I'm just trying to sound tougher than I am. I'm trying to sound as tough as I can right now to make the story better. So she has it on her phone, and she goes, ma'am, she goes, you're obviously intentionally taking your time right now. And I looked at her, and I said, yeah. Or no, I looked at her, and I said, well, did you honk at me? And she goes, yeah. And I go, mm-hmm. Well, there you go. And she said. So you were like Don Imus.
What color are you, by the way? And she said, well, you're taking your time, and I really would appreciate it if you could move forward already. And I go, absolutely, ma'am. I would really appreciate it if you didn't honk at me. That's rude. But it's not rude. Some people sometimes try to get your attention. Genuinely, Eddie, I go to that ARCO every week, and it's a madhouse, and people take their sweet time all the time. People are constantly fondling and diddling. People, wait a second. Wait a second. I have never been fraudulent at that or so. I didn't mean it like that. I want to wrestle you so freaking bad. But, I mean, I'll be behind a car. Who knows where they are? Who knows what they're doing? They'll be taking their time. But, you know, take a breath. Take a breath. Relax. I was not, like, at that point, and I swear, I really was. I had shut my door. I was not deliberately trying to saunter out. I was on my way out. She honked. Very rudely. She was on my butt. She could have just waited one sec for me to pull out. Do you think? You know what I mean? Do you think that she got what was coming to her? Is that what you think? That she got what was coming to her? Dude, by that point in time, I had really just, I was upset, Mike. Thinking about it right now. Thinking about it right now. Do you think that she got what she was coming to? It felt kind of good. I got to be honest. She honked at me.
For no reason, it was rude, and I put my car in park, and I made the point to tell her. I said, ma'am, I said, it's called respect. I go, you don't need to honk at me. It was unnecessary, and it was rude. And for me, that's a big thing. And then I drove off, and that was it. It was crazy. Oh, and by the way, when I was waiting to get my gas pumps, two pumps over from me, these two women are screaming at each other. Hurry up! Same type of argument. These two women in these two different cars, cussing. It was, like, way worse than mine because they were throwing out the F-bomb. I mean, that gas station, it was nuts. Like, people are, like, it was crazy. A friend of mine one time said this to me. And I can't say the one word, so I'm going to change that one word to jerk. Okay. Okay? But he said, if two people think you're a jerk in the same day, you're probably a jerk. Where he said that to me. It was something that stuck with me for a long time. Now, it may be right, it may be wrong. It was just something that stuck with me. And if you experience this kind of stuff, there may be a lot of people right now going, like there's somebody right now, it's 826 in the morning. Somebody right now goes, well, I've been told that twice already today. Text number is 35253. 5701053, our text number is 35253. You're awesome.

Of mullet fame. P1 Fishkiller's on the line. Are you there, Fishkiller? Good morning, Mikey. How are you doing today? Good, dude. How are you? I'm doing great. Thank you for asking. You have a gas station attack story. Yes, sir. What is it? Well, one morning, five in the morning, me and my buddy were going fishing. I pulled my truck with my boat behind it to the gas station pump, and there was other pumps open, but two guys in the truck, big truck, pulled up behind us and started honking their horn. My buddy was washing the window with one of those washers they have at the stall there. Squeegee. Yeah, the squeegee. Squeegee. Thank you. These guys jumped out, and they proceeded to attack my friend. My friend, again, he's only five foot two. Oh, is Rob? So Rob was with you. Is this meatball? Way too tall. Way too tall. And he beat him up. He beat him up with a squeegee. Oh, dude. By himself. I was still inside the gas station buying drinks. That's awful. Yeah, I feel bad for the guys because they jumped back in the truck and they hightailed it out of there real quick. What were they mad about? I don't know. There was plenty of pumps open. He probably yelled at them.
You know what? I didn't see the whole thing, but I saw him. When I looked out the window, he was squeegee, and these guys just came up to him. I don't know if they had a confrontation or altercation prior to this. According to him, he said, no, he never saw him before in his life. Yeah, yeah. It's just one of those deals, man. You got to be careful. You never know what kind of nut job you're dealing with. The lady yesterday could have pulled a gun on Ashley. It's true. That's crazy. Go ahead, Ash. I was just going to say, I totally agree, Mike, and normally I'm in that frame of mind, you know, and I think that way, and I go, I don't want to risk it, and it's not worth it. For some reason yesterday, maybe it was the combination of the fact that my tank costs $70 now to fill up and the fact that it was 100 degrees out. The fact that I'd just gotten off of a long day of work. But isn't that saying, hey, it's not my fault. It's the price of gas and it's the temperature. No, no. I will take full accountability. If it hadn't been. I'll take full accountability for the fact that I was out of line and I had a temper and I snapped. I'll take full accountability for that. You know what I mean? So, you know, because that's the thing. I've never done anything really like that before. Where, like, I've confronted multiple people at a gas station.
That's never happened before. She has confronted multiple people, just not at a gas station. Not in a road rage or gas station type situation. Like where I'm in my car. This is not road rage here. Let it go. Let it go. Saying, what about studio rage? Or studio rage. Studio rage. I don't confront strangers at gas stations or on the road. No, we're getting somewhere. I don't do that. That's not me. I don't do that. My boyfriend does that. I don't do that. I only attack my friends. I don't know. I've been working on that. I've really been trying. I'm really trying to work on that. So, you know, I'm trying. Yeah, you're trying. I really am. You are. I don't know. I've yelled at Seth in like months. Is that true? No, she's good with that. She's good with that. That's very good. In fact, I think she's good here. You know, I think she's pretty good with the anger out of here. Sounds like she's still got some. Well, you know, it's baby steps. You know, you got to take the little baby steps eventually. One foot in front of the other. That's right. It's getting me somewhere. That's right. Before you know it, you're in rock and roll marathon. You know what I mean? Wow. So in Saturday's newspaper, the Union Tribune, there was an article.
about how there's becoming this sort of new trend with families where they, what they're doing is they're not giving their kids presents at their birthday. Shut your mouth. That's right. They're trying to cut down on excesses. Some parents ask guests to give money to specified causes in lieu of giving a gift to their child. Some parents have gift exchanges of books or games, or they donate the wrapped birthday presents to charity. Part of the gift-free trend is tied to eco-consciousness and sustainability. Now, this is a new trend that, you know, it may be picking up some stuff or it may not, but we'll see. And Lisa...
Cathari, who is the author of Dear Peppers and Pollywogs, What Parents Want to Know About Planning Their Kids' Party, says no gift birthdays have become increasingly popular in the past couple of years, albeit with a certain subset of parents. This is a middle class, upper middle class syndrome, Cathari said. They see so many worthwhile causes out there, and they want to instill the values of giving back. That's news to me. Not everybody is on board with the no gift trend. One of the parents said they still want presents. It's not just the kids who are resisting the trend. In fact, one of the guests at this particular birthday party ignored the no gift decree and brought a gift. Nice. Wow. That's crazy. And said, quote, honestly, I don't believe in no gifts. It's a party for the kid.
The tricky etiquette of no-gift parties is what prompted Allison Smith and Debbie Zinman to found their company, Echoage, a few months ago. The Canada-based company offers a website with an invite function that also asks guests to give between $10 and $30 instead of buying a gift. It's garbage! It's then divided, with half going to a selected charity and the other half going to... Parents so they can pick out a meaningful gift. What do you guys think? Why are you the way that you are? Birthday parties, no gifts. Birthday parties, no gifts. Tough love it is. Tough love. These people are monsters. What the heck? If you don't want a gift for your birthday, that's fine. Say that. But your kids who...
are going to go to other kids' birthday parties and see all the gifts that they're getting. And they know what they're missing out on. I think that is horrendous. I would love to see a report written 15, 20 years from now on those kids. Because one thing I know is that Skye says that when she was growing up, she was denied sugar. Then... When she got out of the house, she went on a binge. She ate the worst possible stuff you could imagine because her mother denied her of it. And she went to birthday parties and stuff where kids were eating all kinds of stuff. Now, that part I don't remember. When you went over there, Skye, would you gorge yourself when you went to friends' houses or would your mom call ahead and say, don't let my daughter? No, yeah, I would gorge myself at friends' house when my parents weren't supervising. Nice. So... I wonder if there is that element of if you deny your kid of something that they go over and they see it at their friend's house. And then when they get on their own, they have a problem with maybe spending. Yeah. Because they're making up for all the gifts that they didn't get. Right. So now they've got this issue where they got to buy everything they see. I mean, that's for the parents. They're doing that for themselves. They're not doing it for their kids.
I can see, I understand the argument. I get the argument. We may disagree there. I do think that the parents think they're instilling a cool, well, I think there's a couple things going on. One, I think the parent has guilt. So one big one I'll put up is guilt. I believe that the parent in these upper middle class or middle class families have guilt. We have a lot and we want to give back. So I, okay. That's good guilt. Then go ahead. Fine. Totally good guilt. Totally good guilt. Although I don't know if I would say good guilt. I think that it should be. Yeah, I don't. I don't. Here's what I think. I think that it should be about. I think that it should be about the spirit in giving in your heart. It shouldn't be that. See, guilt implies I have been made to feel like I've got so much and I should instead, in my opinion, what it should be born of is this is my heart. Oh, then to me, guilt is the wrong word. That is. So you're saying the same thing. I'm saying that people are saying we're so blessed to have so much, we should give. There you go. No guilt, we should just, you know, give. And we don't want our kids to grow up in this, you know, wealthy environment and think to themselves that you just have all this and you hoard it to yourself and you don't give back. Listen, I think I would be okay with the idea of, hey, let's take it easy with this whole gift thing. Like, let's not get out of, like, my kids already got a whole bunch of stuff.
And so if you guys are coming to this party, you don't have to bring a whole bunch of toys. This kid's got more junk than you can possibly imagine. I know it's toys to them, but he's got more toys than you could possibly imagine. Why does he have those toys? Because of other gifts. I mean, other parties and stuff like that. People give stuff. Grandparents and brothers and sisters and friends. Yeah, the parents are getting them stuff. Everybody. The parents are buying them stuff. Yeah. So why not relax on buying them stuff throughout the year? And then when it comes birthday, which is a special day for most people, then you get the gifts. That's an important day for a kid. I think it's fine to give a kid a gift. It's fun to open the gift. It's fun to see what you're going to get, the surprise factor. I mean, there's a lot more into it than just what's inside, I think, for the kid's perspective. Of course, man. You want the kid to have a good time. Yeah. Yeah. Let's now get the opinion of Sky. Well, there's only one thing she could say, Mike. She's gorgeous, by the way. She loves her birthday more than any person on the planet. Absolutely right. And she's smart. Thank you, Ashley. Well, let's hold off on all that before she answers. So, please let me say these things without being attacked. No, I can't promise you. You can attack afterwards.
How would he want to attack at all? The Boo and I have had many discussions about when we have children and their toys because it disgusts my husband when he goes over to his friend's house up in the Bay Area and their kids have, like, so many toys that you can't even open the bedroom door. Like, he thinks it's ridiculous. You know, he grew up where you get a cool toy for Christmas, you get a cool toy for your birthday, and the rest of the year, if you want toys, you need to earn money and buy your own toys. What if you're little? Like Jake's age? Well, if you're Jake's age, you don't really, in my opinion, in the hubby's opinion, you don't really know what you're missing. You know what I mean? So it's not like... You're not going to give him anything? No, so you have a few things, but it's not like they're going, but mom, I... They absolutely will because they watch TV and they have friends. If you really want the blah, blah, blah, then you need to clean up your room and da, da, da, and we'll give you 50 cents and we'll put it in a piggy bank and maybe in a couple months you can afford the blah, blah, blah. This is how we plan to do it. So I love the idea you read, Mike, about the people who set up the website where you donate, you're invited to the party. It's like an e-vite.
You can take anywhere between, you know, zero to $30 and put it into the fund. Half the money goes to charity. Half the money goes to a group gift for the kid. So the kid will still get one group gift from all his friends that he can open at his party. Plus, he can also open maybe an envelope with the pictures of the children that are, you know, needy. That he has donated to. And both of those things are gifts for the child. Okay, wait. And it's a learning tool. So the kids, the other kids, friends are giving him presents? Well, like it said, it's a website where all the money goes in. Half the money goes to charity. The other half of the money goes for one group gift. So he gets one gift. He gets one gift from the friends, from the people invited to the party. What about you guys? And then we probably buy one gift. Don't forget about the gift of the pictures of all those starting children. Yes, and then another gift will be the money donated to charity in his or her name. So it's two gifts. Yeah, well, it's three gifts. The group gift, the gift from the parents, and also the charity gift. I got no problem with that.
I'll tell you. Thank you, Mike. That's a monster. Mike has no problem. Let me be specific. Let me be specific. Mike supports me in everything I say all the time. Let me be specific. Let me be specific. He doesn't get it. I just want to be specific. Thank you, Mike. You're the best. I'm going to be specific, and then you guys can have at me. I will open myself up to be a carcass on the side of the road to be picked to bits. I know. Don't worry. I'm prepared. Don't worry. I understand. Yes. I'm going to say, I believe. that this is just like everything, everything, everything. I believe that this is case specific. In my particular case, we have provided a lot of stuff for that kid. Jake is not a kid who wants. I used to be a kid who wants. I was that kid who wanted, didn't have a lot of stuff. And in my experience when I was growing up,
I also didn't necessarily get a lot. As people could give, it would have been really cool. But I didn't really experience that. Now, in Jake's situation, it's much different. The kid doesn't want. He didn't need to. We don't even know what it's like to want. Hi, Jake. Okay. In this, for the most part, for the most part, here, we don't really know what it's like to want. And so... I have a hard time seeing the we get Jake gift. He goes over to his buddy's house. When he goes over to his buddy's house, his buddies have a lot of gifts. It'd be one thing if Jake wasn't getting any gift. I don't like that. It's his birthday, and I think that it's okay to give your kid a gift. I think that's cool. And I think it should be a nice gift. In fact, if you've got a whole bunch of people coming over.
And they're all putting in some dough, probably get a pretty nice gift. I also think that it is actually really, really cool at a young age to go, look who you helped. I never saw that as a kid. No, no, no. I'm not going to present it to him as, and here's what you get too. It's not going to be about that. If it were me, that's not what it's going to be about. I'm not going to go, oh, and Jake. Here's your other gift. It's fine if you do. If that's the way Sky wants to present it to love. Well, no, I didn't say that's specifically how I want to do, but I like what you're saying. The way that I would do it is I would say to Jake, hey, man, I want you to know half of this dough went to getting you a pretty cool deal. The other half of the dough went to this charity, and here's what the charity's all about. And I think it's really cool. And I do want Jake to grow up knowing that, knowing that like in his family, that's what you do. You give to other people. I want him to know that. And he's not a kid with one. So let's discuss. Here is what you guys are missing. You guys are thinking on adult levels. These are kids. They don't get that. They will only get disappointment.
You can teach your kid how to give and what charity is and all that stuff. But you don't have to do it through a birthday level. Like that is so, you're misconstruing. These kids won't understand that. They won't understand like, oh, okay, well, I feel great about that. They'll think, oh, I'm not getting as much presents as Billy got. That's how kids think. Isn't that assuming that my point in giving him that is that, I'm not giving him that as a gift. I'm giving him that as a parent teaching my kid about life. That it isn't all about getting. Especially us. Meaning the Esparzas. In the Esparza house, it ain't all about getting, kid. What do you need? Because you got it already. Totally. So you're raising him. It ain't all about getting. You're raising him, right? And you can, on a daily basis. teach him to give like when i was in fifth grade i volunteered like um for the like there was mentally challenged kids they had down syndrome and every day after school i would volunteer i loved working with these kids i got the volunteer award at the end of the year but in the meantime when it came to be my birthday dude i loved having the party and having my friends come over and opening the gifts and getting cool things that i would have never thought to buy for myself
So it's like, you know what I mean? I think that you should separate the two. I don't think that the day that your birthday is that you're celebrating you and it's kind of your special day should be a day that you're like giving. I think that you should separate the two. It is. And he is going to get. In fact, he's going to get something pretty cool. I mean, with all those people chipping in, all those people chipping in. That's no fun. That's no fun. He's going to go over to other kids' houses and he's going to see their parents smoking. That don't happen at our house either. He's going to go over to other parents' houses, and the kids are going to be eating junk and maybe playing on MySpace. Sure, and I don't even think it's about that. I just think it's about it's their day. All I'm saying is that there are going to be different rules at different houses. If they want to do what their kids and they want to give them 15 presents, this is what I say about that. You want to give your kid 15 presents? Knock yourself out. You want to give your kid 15 presents? Knock yourself out. And I mean it. I'm just saying that. we've been pretty blessed. And so my kid, he's not in that real want position. Well, isn't that fine for you to, like, if you don't want to get your kid a bunch of stuff because you've already gotten him a bunch of stuff, that's fine. But me, as somebody who's in Jake's life, I want to give him something. And so you're telling me I can't.
That bums me out because I want to give him some stuff and see how excited he gets from the presents I get him. It's gratifying giving. Then isn't that you? Absolutely. It's part of it. Okay, so what you're saying is a birthday party. So are you saying that, according to you, my responsibility as a parent should be to make sure that you feel good about giving my kid a gift? No, Mike, I'm not saying that. I'm saying that part of having a birthday party. is, for me, wanting to go and give you a gift and have them enjoy it. So, hang on, hang on. So, if I say no to that, if I go, nope, not going to happen, you know, we're doing this thing. That's a bummer. It's a bummer. It's a huge bummer. It's a bummer. Absolutely. But, like you're saying, it's a bummer for you. What can I do? It's your kid. I'm not going to complain. Right. It just sucks. It sucks. Okay, I see what you're saying. I see what you're saying. It just, in general, it just kind of sucks. Yeah. Okay, I understand that.
Because I understand wanting to. Because I love Jake and I would like to show my appreciation. Yeah, you want to make a kid happy. You want to make a kid happy. I get it. I get it. Isn't the kid happy just for you being there, being a part of his day, giving him up? Yeah, but that's not Eddie's point, though. I think they are. I think Eddie's point is Eddie's deal. Have you ever met a kid? Well, yeah, like the way your nieces light up when you hang out with them and take the time to go swimming with them. And when they give them presents, they light up even more. Well, not to mention, Mike, like if you throw like this awesome party for your son and we all come over to enjoy the birthday cake and the food you provided and this awesome party, it's kind of cool to give back to your son a little present and thanks for having the party that we got to enjoy as well. You guys. You know? Do you think that Jake isn't going to have an Xbox? I assume he would. You know what I'm saying? I want to buy him a penguin book. It's not about that, though. In fact, you guys all donating the dough could buy him the Xbox. Yeah, that's why, to me, it's a middle-upper-class thing, because there's so much excess, especially in the upper class. You know, if you're a lower-class family, I don't think that's for you, because that's the one day that your kid's going to get spoiled when they normally don't get spoiled. That's what I'm saying. Then why not, throughout the year?
You know, Jake sees something he wants. Say, okay, well, maybe on your birthday. Maybe for your birthday. Maybe for your birthday. Like, why is he getting stuff throughout the year? Your wish list. I guess my answer to that is why would I not tell him that throughout the year? I think the answer is I really like the thing of the allowance. You know, you save up. I got all of that. I got an allowance. I had to do chores, all that stuff. But if I go to my parents, if I go to my parents. Oh, man, I really want that. They would say to me, either you buy it or, you know, hey, maybe for your birthday this year. I'm down with that. You're going to get a couple presents for your birthday. So, you know, make a list. Put on the top of that list. Now it's a couple presents? I thought it was one. Well, yeah, it's two. It's the one from the parents, and then it's the group gift that the people from the party are donating towards. Which is going to be a slamming gift. Which is going to be an awesome gift. So think really hard. But that's not what I wanted to give them. But then again, that means it's about Eddie. It is. It is. It's what I want to give to him. I understand, Eddie, but my kid's not about you. I understand that, but I can't give him what I want? I can't. That sucks. Well, not if as a parent I've decided something. That's like saying, hey, man. I wouldn't give him something that would hurt him or harm him or any way. I understand. It's something that's with love for me. Totally. I'm not missing that. I'm not missing that, and I'm not denying it.
Dude, Eddie, you buy the best gifts, dude. He does. You buy the best gifts, Eddie. Like, you hook it up. Listen, I would even say to the kid, whatever you want, you better pick the one that Uncle Eddie would have got you because that's going to be a good gift. I know that. I know that. But I think it's important for that kid to know. First, I keep going back to the same thing, man. Jake's got stuff. He's always. He's not going to be one of those kids that's going, oh, man, I just don't have this, and I don't have that, and I don't have this. There are those kids. But what I think is really cool is that instead of continuing to stockpile and stockpile and stockpile. Until last year's gifts mean nothing at this point because you just have 50 new ones this year. Do you know, Rebecca has a thing on her computer, a little reminder that pops up, and I don't know how often she does it.
But she's got this little reminder that pops up and every once in a while it pops up and she goes into the living room and she takes all the toys and swaps them. So she's got toys constantly moving in and out because he's got so many. She doesn't want to have toys everywhere. So she has like four or five of them to play with. And then after after a little while, she'll swap them out, bring some more toys in for him to play with. So that's where this is born of a little bit of just. This is how much the kid has. I don't want to deny him of gifts. I think gifts are important. But I don't necessarily think that the experience of birthdays is about gifts. I think it could be about a couple of gifts. No doubt about that. But I don't think that it's about gifts personally. Shawnee.
You know, I see Eddie's point in that when you give a gift to a child, it's a personal sort of connection. And when you have one gift or maybe just two gifts, it sort of depersonalizes that otherwise very personal connection when you give a specific gift to a child. And I see that he would experience that sort of, that loss in that. that direct connection, the gift to the child, from him to the child, will not happen. Now, if we were to finish the thought and I were to make a decision based on that, what you just said, then I'm now making a decision on what I'm going to do with Jake based on party goers. I understand. I can't reconcile that. I understand. It's hard to say, all right, I'm going to make this choice for Jay. It is your choice. It is absolutely your choice. I mean, I wouldn't argue with you about it. It's your kid. Yeah. It's just, for me, is a huge bummer because I love that kid, and I would love to show my love and give him something cool. Through a penguin book. Through a penguin book. I want to get him a penguin book. I would probably say it would be too good.
and sneak Eddie's gift. Yeah! I love this one over there. Queen birthday. Sky, you are a queen birthday. I am queen birthday. I love to celebrate my birthday. I love to be honored. I love people to give me toast. To be honored? And I don't mind a, you know, like Rob. He gets me homemade gifts all the time. You know, and I am, like, just as stoked for the homemade comic strip as I am for, you know, my 50th sweater or my 700th DVD. Can we just get you a picture of an Ethiopian? Well, as long as you're donating. And, you know, and I'd love for people to donate in my name for my birthday. Like, I think that's great. I've started doing that for people a lot. I did that for Mike. Half of his present was, you know, donating to needy children. That's pretty cool. Listen, I'm not in a position where I'm like, oh, I need this, I need this, I need this. But I can't deny that I don't love getting stuff. Of course I do, man. Of course. Remember, we're adults. But, no, no, no, listen.
We're adults, but we're also still kids inside, and I love getting stuff. I love getting stuff, even now. This is, it's tough because I think I'm going, what is the overall message I want my son to take into his adult life? And I do want to instill in him that it isn't just about us. It isn't just about us. 360 days of the year. Absolutely. You do that all the time. That kid is going to grow up with great morals and great principles. And on your birthday, it's kind of your day. It's about you. And so for me, this is for me, I'm going to let my kid have a great day and celebrate him and give him gifts and have a great time. But that's not a great day if he isn't showered with gifts.
He doesn't have to be showered with gifts. You're putting words in my mouth. I'm going to give him gifts or her gifts or whatever. And all the people who come are going to give gifts. Absolutely. But you can still have a great day without that. Okay, you can. This is my kid's birthday. And my kid's birthday, he's going to do what I want. But it won't be a great day if there's not those gifts there? That's not the day that I'm going to plan for him, no. But what about the actual question? Would it not be a great day? Without gifts? I have no idea. It might not be for him. Now, are you sure, though, that if he does have gifts, it is a great day? He'll have a great time. And without the gifts, you're not sure? Absolutely. He could maybe not have a great time. What makes that different from any other day? What? Without the gifts. All your friends are coming over. There's a cake. We're singing to you. You're wearing silly hats. You're playing games. The cake's kind of a gift. The hat's a kind of a gift. I'm for real.
You know, it sounds like just having people over. To me, at this point, a hostess cupcake is a gift. It is. Did you go get the pie? That's a gift. Did you get a hostess pie yesterday? I went. Oh, that's a whole story. No, dude, I was. It's a whole story. It's a whole story. I had this, like, little thought that maybe you get a few of them and bring them in here. That was a whole story. I mean, we already are so late, but. I want to know. I'll tell you. It was pretty rough. It was pretty rough. Oh, no. Where did you go? I went to the store. Get specifically to get them. Is P1's in it? No. No? Can we hear it when we get back? Yeah. All right. This is the Mikey Show. Hey, I love the Mikey Show. You know what? You guys are awesome. I do, too. Thank you, brother. Electric, acoustic, keyboard, bass, some drums. Try to do it all. Wow, you're sick. What kind of acoustic guitar do you play? I have a Fender. There you go. That's what I have. Cool. What were you calling to say? I was just calling to say I remember very clearly growing up not getting gifts for Christmas. And coming back from that winter break was one of the worst feelings because all my friends would have all these cool things and I would have nothing to brag about. And for a long time, I hated Christmas because, you know, it was really bad around our household. Yeah, and I was just saying off the air, I never want that to be Jake. I never want Jake to be the kid that doesn't have the cool present. But we said before, this is something for middle and upper class people. It sounds like, you know, your parents maybe had some tough times and that's why you didn't get gifts. Is that right?
Yeah, but I remember that feeling. Yeah, it's different. And that's a bummer, man. Yeah, that sucks. I would not suggest that for everybody. Yeah, if you're like a low-income family, no way should you throw a birthday party and tell people not to bring your child presents. Yeah, man. I mean, the whole concept of this is that... Excess. Excess. Excess. I mean, listen, when I was growing up... One of the problems was not Mike had too many toys. That was not one of the problems. P1 Rick. Hey, how you doing, Mikey? We love your show, man. Thank you, brother. Hey, I've got three boys. And the thing that I try to do, I think I agree a little bit with Eddie. You know, that day is for them to be blessed. And the rest of the year, it's for lessons. As far as I teach my boys about giving every time they get an allowance. We put something aside. Every time and at the end of the year, we give that away to whatever charity we decide. Oh, that's nice. But it's their choice. They know every single day the lesson is reinforced, reinforced, reinforced. And, you know, in my opinion, just, you know, excess is crazy. You know, we overcompensate in America for everything, it seems like. But, you know, let that be their day and let the lesson be throughout the whole year. I think that sounds great. I think that what you're doing sounds great. I think that's fine.
And I, trust me, I'm going to be teaching my son lessons every single day. Absolutely. Awesome. 365. All right, man. Love you guys. Thank you, man. Take care, man. See you. A bunch of emails coming in, man. Tons of emails. Mikey, I have a four-year-old, and I'm teaching my daughter to give by having her pick out toys she no longer uses right before her birthday and before Christmas. And we take them to the Salvation Army together. We explained to her where the toys are going, and she enjoys it. I think taking away from a kid's birthday isn't the time to do it. Their birthday is about them and celebrating their birth. I agree with that last part. Their birthday is about them and celebrating their birth. I agree with that. I don't necessarily agree that what it's about is those presents, which, by the way, I've said we'll give him. We'll give him two pretty nice presents. Yeah, Eddie says, hey, man, part of it is getting a lot. That's the fun part, opening up all those presents. I remember I would be like, I want to invite as many of my friends as possible. Pick a day that I know they can all come because that means I get more presents.
It's just fun, dude. It's fun to open them. There you go, Ashley. There you go, Eddie. So if we stay a lot. I agree with her. Well, there you go. I do agree with her. I mean, if your kid has. Next thing you know, she's screaming at the gas station. No, well. I'm sorry. They don't get it. Hey, guys. I'm 29 now. That's all he's got, you know. And growing up, I always had no gift birthday parties. but only with my friends. I still got gifts from my family during our celebrations, but any party with friends was always no gift. However, my reason wasn't eco-friendly. It was because I grew up in Michigan, and a lot of my friends came from families who may not be able to afford a gift. So even as a young kid, I didn't want them to feel bad if they were only able to show up without a gift for me. I had that happen once when I turned seven, and I felt so bad for one of my friends. She was sitting on my front doorstep crying because her parents wouldn't let her bring a present, and she was the only one. After that, I actually decided I wanted a no-gift friend parties. However, my family knew better than to bring gifts. Love you. That's P1 Half Pint. Mikey, you and... No, wait a minute. This one was to Eddie, and it said, you and Ashley are so right about this birthday party thing. Mikey and Sky are basically making themselves socialist dictators.
over their kids' birthday parties, saying, in effect, you will not get him gifts. You will contribute to the common good and give back to society instead, which, by the way, is a socialist principle. The person in this regard is absolutely right. Seriously, they mean good, and I guess, but like you said, try and not spoil your kid throughout the year and make their birthday special. What is going to teach them better, teaching this lesson once a year on their birthday or teaching them throughout the year and making their birthday special? Now, I've been hearing this theme many, many times, which I thought I kind of pointed it out, but I want to point it out again. This concept of that we're taking the birthday to teach this lesson and no other time of the year. I think it's even more relevant on the birthday. I absolutely am going to teach it all throughout the year, and it's even more important on the birthday because on the day where everybody else is making it about gifts, gifts, gifts, I want my son, who, by the way, is not without, to know that in our family, that's not what it's all about. Now, over across the street, you're going to find or.
over down the street or over in that neighborhood or over when you go over there, you're going to find, Jake, that that is what it's about. It's about the gifts. You're not without. You're never going to be without. God's always going to provide for you, and so is your pop as long as his heart's beating. But what we're going to do here is I'm just going to show you, man, that it's not all about those presents. And just like I showed you yesterday and the day before, I'm going to show you tomorrow, it's not always about those presents. Now, Eddie's saying, well, kids, you know, they're kids. They don't necessarily understand. I personally feel like we're not giving kids enough credit. I understood a lot. I understood a lot. If we teach it, they'll get it. But it's our responsibility to teach them. Listen, everybody can do whatever they want. I recognize this is a minority opinion. I realize that most people really get a lot out of this gift-giving thing and gift-getting thing. I get it. But I think it's a pretty interesting concept. I mean, I definitely ain't spoiling my kid for sure. But to me, it's just hard for me because I'm not going to make everything like a life lesson. Like not everything is a life lesson to me. It can be. I mean, it can be. But for me, it's not going to be that way. I'm going to teach him all the time, you know, what's right and wrong. And he's going to know what's right and wrong. And on his birthday, I'm not going to.
Expect him, you know, I mean, if he's opening presents or her and not showing the proper, like, thank you and gratitude, that's wrong. And if he's starting to expect these gifts, that's wrong. But if he's just having fun and enjoying his stuff and he's showing the proper gratitude, I will be stoked. My kid's stoked. Yeah. You know, that's just me. Eddie is not a fan of the no-gift parties. Not even a little bit. Absolutely not. I'm telling you. This is apparently big enough. They're writing about it in the UT. Came a story. It's very, very polarizing. Mm-hmm. 570-1053 is a phone number. And the text number is 35253. Sky has new releases. I do. What do you think about that? We have to take a break, though. And I want to hear about the host. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I go to Vaughn's yesterday. I'm all excited. I'm going to get the hostess pies. Right. Go to the thing. They only have.
Bonds Brands Fruit Pride Pies. Oh, that's offensive. They wouldn't even carry the hostess. I stormed out of there. A storm? Yeah, you can't go to this one because this is the one they didn't have. Where should I go? 7-Eleven's got to have them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 7-Eleven for sure. 7-Eleven. For sure. Okay. Flavors? Hostess? Anything but lemon. Chocolate. You want one? What? That a girl. It's so frustrating because I can't swear. I'm Mo Rent. Come on, let's face it. And Ashley. I'm a good Jagger. No, you're not. I am. No, you're not. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Am I Meg Jagger? She is so turned on. I couldn't tell you. So turned on. Back, it is 941. The governor is creating a stir because he'll be the... First California governor to skip the annual prayer breakfast today. Instead, he's attending a McCain event. Padres had the day off yesterday. Going to start a series with the twins tonight. Jake Peavy will be on the hill. Don Imus really supports black people. Oh, good for him. In particular, he's really, really a supporter of Pac-Man Jones. Oh, wow. Definitely wrong. Which is what he said today. First, what he said today.
Go ahead, Johnny. Well, Warner and I were talking yesterday about Pac-Man Jones being arrested six times, and which I think was just, you know, it was obviously the picking on him. So I asked Warner what color he was. Well, obviously I already knew what color he was. That's what the point was. In order to make a sarcastic point, I asked Warner what color he was. Warner tells me. I said, well, there you go. That's the point. Yeah. What people should be outraged about is that they arrest blacks for no reason. And I mean, there's no reason to arrest this kid six times. I mean, maybe he did something once, but I mean, everybody does something once. Well, I have. So something like, so my making a sarcastic observation about Pac-Man Jones being arrested six times, which in effect was racial profiling in my, that's what I believe. That was the only point, to try to turn that in that I meant something else. when there are two black people sitting on the set and an African-American who's the producer of the television part of the program, Tom Bowman. I mean, that's insane. Some of his best friends are black, is what you're saying. I didn't know Tom Bowman was there. Did you think of the Tom Bowman? That changes everything. That changes everything. Hey, did you guys realize I know black people? Hello? Yeah. There's one of them right there. Yeah, there's a colored person right there. Yeah, there's a colored guy standing right there. Oh, no.
Well, you know, and his thing is, like, his thing is, is, you know, hey, I'm standing up for Pac-Man Jones, and I'm standing up for black youth. So here was his original comments yesterday. Cut five. Defensive back Adam Pac-Man Jones, recently signed by the Cowboys. Here's a guy suspended all of 2007 following the shooting at a Vegas nightclub. Well, stuff happens. You're in a nightclub, for God's sake. What do you think's going to happen in a nightclub? People are drinking and doing drugs. There are women there, and people have guns. So anyway, go ahead. Well, he's been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005. What color is he? He's African-American. There you go. Now we know. There we go what? He wants to drop his nickname. There we go what, aye, man. There you go. He's been racially profiled, Mike. You didn't hear that in his voice? I missed that. I didn't hear that. But I'm sure that's what he meant. Yeah. Kind of sounded like they were making fun of Pac-Man Jones a little bit. You know, their words were kind of in jest almost. Yeah. So he was making serious.
statement about racial profiling in that? Wait, wait, wait. He was making a serious statement about racial profiling when just a few minutes before he said, well, you know, it serves you right. You go in there, you got drugs and guns and what you think was going to happen and blah, blah, blah. What color was he? He was black. Oh, I take everything I said back then. Now this isn't a question of you go in there with guns and drugs. Now it's a question of profiling. And man, I sure am glad I asked you that because now that I know he's black, I realize that what's happened is he was just getting profiled. I mean, see, I don't think that's, he doesn't have to go that way. He doesn't have to go that way. Don't have to. P1 Jason, go ahead, you're on the air. I just wanted to say something about the white people never experience racism thing. It's completely wrong because white people experience reverse racism, but it's okay when it comes like that because it's politically correct. Tell me about the racism that you experience. I come from Atlanta. I'm originally from Atlanta, and I went to a high school that was predominantly African American. And in the classes, in government econ, when a point would come up and there would be an argument going on, if it got really heated, a lot of the African American people in the class would say the derogatory names of white people, such as Cracker.
And it would be totally okay. The teacher would never say anything. But if I would say something, if I would have called them a derogatory name, I'd get in trouble. Well, that's the fault of the teacher. Well, see, that's exactly what I'm saying. It's still racist. Yeah, we agree. Yeah, we agree with you. No one's saying that's okay. Yeah, but what you can't do, though, is you can't go, okay, so that means it's okay for IMUS to say that. I'm not saying it's okay. You're calling. Well, no, I wanted to talk about the reverse racism that the girl earlier was trying to say, but she put it in a bad way. How is your way different? All I heard her talking was... Okay, well, she wasn't very articulate, but the points are kind of similar. The whole concept of reverse racism doesn't really have any... Well, first of all... Whites don't really... Whites aren't really a... Racism isn't really a problem for whites in this country. It's just not. It happens, but it's not a widespread problem. No, it's just not. And it never has been. I have to completely disagree. Dude, because you were in a class where a couple of black dudes started yelling out cracker, that doesn't... That ain't nothing like... Were you hurt by that? Dude, come on. Give me a break. I come from Metro Atlanta.
a predominantly black city. I understand. Are you telling me that because you are a white guy in a predominantly black area that what happens mostly in this country is racism against whites? Hey, dude, look at our... All you gotta do is take a look at our history. Yeah, we're talking... In your small area, yeah. That definitely may have been the case, but... Let's just say, for instance, let's say... I tell you what. Let's make it fair, though. Let me give it to you. And let me say, you got it, bro. Reverse racism exists. In fact, it's widespread and it's a problem. Is your point that after making commentary about what Don Imus said yesterday, that we should take at least three minutes to talk about the problems that whites go through in this country? Seriously. Yeah. Well, we need to change that saying to two wrongs now make right. If I understood his point correctly, his point was, well, wait a minute, you know, Mikey, you're missing the fact that reverse racism happens in this country. And, you know, whites are victims of racism, too. Now, I'm looking at our culture, the United States and our culture as a whole. And I'm saying to myself, do I believe that we are to a point where we are completely tolerant of one another?
Well, of course we aren't. Okay, and if I have to pick a group of people who I believe experience the most intolerance, it's still black dudes and black ladies. It's still blacks. So to call on the morning after Don Imus says, what color were they? Well, there you go. And make the point, well, you know, Mike. What about whites? You know, they experience racism, too. That's why I said, OK, let's give that to you. Let's say that they do. Whites experience racism. Are you saying that after making the point that Don Imus sure did sound racist by saying what he said about Pac-Man Jones, that I should have then made sure that I took a three minute portion of the show to let everybody know what a problem racism against whites is in this country? Yes, I really do. It's like the day after the Titanic goes down, we're covering the Titanic, and somebody goes, well, you didn't address that my fishing boat sank the other day. And it's like, dude, I'm sorry your fishing boat sunk. White's got it pretty rough, huh? I mean, that's, I mean, seriously, bro. Come on. It ain't, listen. Pathetic. It ain't about how bad whites have it. What happened in your classroom?
Isn't cool either. A black dude calling you a cracker ain't cool. It's not cool either. I'm just saying none of it's okay. See, the thing, this is a main point that I've always said about this. Somebody said something to me one time and it meant a lot to me. It was in regard to racial humor. You know, because I think that I'm Mexican and I... always gotten a kick out of mexican jokes they make me laugh they've never been offensive to me of course i've never really experienced racism as a mexican i just haven't and if i had maybe it'd be different but i haven't and so i have always found racial stereotypes to be humorous i don't know that anybody's ever said that but i'm telling you i find racial stereotypes at times to be humorous and i've made racial jokes. Now, the thing that I think is important to remember is context. Somebody said to me one time, you can almost get away with just about anything on the radio as long as whatever you're saying isn't hateful. And that's what I think is most important. You can usually get a sense of what's in somebody's heart. When we used to do Tyrone and Tortilla, there is
No hate in our heart. I could look anybody straight in the face and tell you, no hate in our heart. None. In fact, it's the opposite. It's about fun and frivolity and just good times and just having a good time. And you know what it's really about too? Not taking anything real seriously. You know, not taking it real seriously. But because of what I missed the last time, we don't do Tyrone and Tortilla anymore because we can't. Same thing with Ying and Yang. One of the two funniest characters that we had. Now, do we ever mean to hurt anybody? Of course not, man. Of course not. Their intent is never to hurt anyone. But it's all about intent. The reason that this one is so tough, this latest one with Imus, is because he wasn't even in the midst of making a joke. Even he says his... I mean, it'd almost be better if he said... It still wouldn't be acceptable. It'd almost be better if he said what he said the first time. I was kidding around. Man, it was a bad joke. I mean, this isn't even that. He said I was defending the guy. You know what I mean? You're even going to ask me what my opinion is, dude? Definitely not. Please, no. We don't. I don't think it'll happen. Why don't you ask what I feel? Why? Why would we care what you think? Well, because, dude, I have...
I have always had to deal with segregation. Segregation? What? You don't even know what that means. I have always been a victim of bigotry. Of what? Of what? You mean bigotry? That is correct. Okay. We're making light of something that's very serious. You want to know why? Why? Because my stomach looks like a washboard. Oh, you are very scary. You know how much money I owe in back child support? Well, my ex took me to court, dragged my butt into Vista the other day, dude. I had to drive all the way up there, dude. I almost ran out of gas. He doesn't even have a license. He doesn't even drive. You're 14. And so I roll up in there, and I'm all, where's the courtroom, man? I'm sure you did. Very tough of you. And the bailiff was all, and the bailiff was all, and I was all, oh, look at Mr. Bailiff's my lady now, huh? And I go, spit shine my shoes, and he's all.
He made them look like mirrors, dude. You're wearing flip-flops. And so I'm wearing flip-flops today, dude. I wasn't yesterday. I'm sorry. I was dressed like a cholo, dude. Oh, that's cool. And so I rolled into the courtroom, and they were all, young man, take off those sunglasses. And I was all, that's cool. In the courtroom. Yeah, dude. And the judge was all, okay, I'll let that one slide. I'll let that one slide. And my ex-wife was all... Your ex-wife? Yeah, dude. And she was all... Yeah, Beto. And I was all... What up? Shifts a day, dude. Okay, that's... And she was all... And she was all... Beto, please take me back. Got people pregnant like me. I don't think that's accurate. Okay. You're... You're the worst. You're the worst. See, that is an example of somebody that doesn't get... He's in summer school. He is? Yes.

So this was Jerry Seinfeld talking to Larry King. yesterday about George Carlin, cut nine. You told me you spoke to him a couple days ago? I did. I called him a few days ago, and we were actually joking about death, which, like, when I woke up this morning and I got this news, it really, really threw me. And we were kidding about how, you know, they kind of come in groups. It was like Bo Diddley and Tim Russert, and he was saying how I feel safe now for a little while.
because, you know, there should be a lull before they come after the next person. So it was very bizarre to me that we talked about this just a couple days ago, and then it happens. Hmm, it seems really broken up. Here is Seinfeld's comments about George Carlin and the seven dirty words. Now, seven dirty words are a big thing in radio, because it is basically what the FCC based their first... You know, this is pre-Janet Jackson. What they based their first kind of rules on were the 730 words. You definitely couldn't say the 730 words. And it was a routine from George Carlin where he said the 730 words. And it was the ones that he came up with. And it's all the big ones. He covers all the big ones. What are they? Still not allowed to say them. Maybe we can go line by line. Yeah, you can't do it.
But, yeah, here he was talking about that routine, cut 11. He was more than a bit salty in the famous seven words you can't say on television, which may be his epitaph. Is that sad if that's his epitaph? I think it is because I think that was certainly one of the simplest bits that he ever did. And to me, not really representative of the quality of his work. I mean, he was much deeper and more thoughtful than that. I've got to hear this next one. Larry King reads a statement from Robin Williams about George Carlin. It's just weird because you're not used to hearing Robin Williams being serious. And I'm sure it will be cut 13. Robin Williams wanted us to use his statement in its entirety. Here goes. George Carlin was the living embodiment of the First Amendment in the traditions of Mark Twain and Jonathan Swift. He dealt with the insanity of the world with one-two punch of humor and honesty and no apologies. He was one funny mother. We almost read it in its entirety. We thank Jerry Seinfeld. By the way, the Mark Twain Prize this year was awarded to George Carlin. Just announced the other day. Louis Black. Out with Louis Black for an entire day. Did you really? In Jamesville, New York. Like, literally, I'm going to get something to eat now. I love that guy.
They hung out with a guy. It was a long time ago, though. Circa 92. Ooh. Got 17. No, I'm serious. That's just hurtful. It was, but what can you do? I like him. Do you understand that you got a message on your answering machine from George Carlin? Very, when I was not very well known and was really still struggling and living in a five-floor walk up in New York. I got a message from George. I didn't know him. He called me and said, he said, listen, Lewis, this is George Carlin. First, let me tell you, there's nothing I can do for your career. And then he went on to say that he'd heard my stuff, and he really liked it, and I made him laugh. And if I had any things to send it to him, because he had friends who liked to laugh, and that was what he could do.
That alone really was, for me, it was huge. And it shut my mother up. There you go. Louis Black on George Carlin. Thank you, George. Thank you, Louis. I want to get, if we can, try to get Craig on the phone because Craig Gass knew George pretty good. And George Carlin was a fan of Craig Gass. And so, yeah, I want to get his take on it, see what he thinks. That was all you saw on the news yesterday. Big, big thing. Sky has new releases. What do you think about that? Yeah, I do. How about that? Okay, new video games out today. We have Rock Band for the Wii. We have WALL-E. Rock Band for the Wii? Yeah. Really? Yeah, I guess that could be done. Are you going to get that? Well, do they have Rock Band with... I wish that they would have Rock Band with every type of music.
But is it like I would like to do rock bands like pop music because I like pop music. You know what I mean? But I think it's got to be. No. One, two, three, four. Oh, my mic is safe. Blue, blue, green, green. Okay. We have WALL-E, you know, based on the upcoming movie. Yeah, WALL-E World. Yep. Yeah. Or the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360. Battlefield Bad Company for Xbox 360 and PS3. Why? It's an army kind of a game, but it's like a band of misfits. They're a bunch of goofballs, and they really are a bad company. They send them in first before the good army goes in, and they just make a bunch of wise jokes. The commercial looks pretty funny. Alone in the Dark, Xbox 360, PS2, and the Wii. Command and Conquer 3 for Xbox 360. Top Spin 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3. Hellboy Science of Evil, Xbox 360, PS3. Hail to the Chimp, Xbox 360, PS3. Operation Darkness, Xbox 360, and Supreme Commander also for the Xbox 360.
So there we go for new video games. What a great job that was. Thank you, Eddie. You're the best. Thank you, Ashley. You guys are really enjoying today. By the way, Danny says that new P1 song is available for download at P1's site. Of course it is. So you can download it if you want to. You're really good. Music out today with their first album with all four original members in over a decade. The crew with Saints of... Oh, yeah. Let's download that today. Put on your chopper hat. Also out today with their third album, we have Shinedown, The Sound of Madness. Do you think that this Shinedown record will sound just like that? We'll see. I wonder where we are really in music in 2008. I think that's the song that they're using to promote the WWE event this weekend, like the pay-per-view. Yeah, because on the commercial, I'm like...
I heard it, and I was like, whatever that song is, it's kind of cool. I guess it's that Shinedown record. Also out today, we have Billy Idol with the very best of Billy Idol. So we have a Motley Crue and a Billy Idol album out in one day. This one's not a new one. It's the very best. It's a two-disc best song. Is Billy Squire on here as well? And a new one from the Bengals. There you go. With a new album out today, we have... G-Love and the Special Sauce with Superhero Brother. And then finally with the new album out today, we have 3-6 Mafia with Last to Walk. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Isn't that the band 3-6 Mafia? Yeah. I want to see Eddie, Chantel, and Ashley dance to that song together. We should form a dance group. Awesome.
How do we not have that? The Flabawockies. The Flabawockies. Yes. Yeah. That's all three. I like that song from Hustle and Flow. Yeah. It's not in there. That is dumb. How can we not have that song? I don't know. Shawnee, do you have it on your end? Me too. It's getting hot out. Is it called? It's getting hard out here? I think we had to edit it, like, you know, bleep it. We did? So we got it somewhere. Check the system for Terrence Howard, maybe. Or not. Wow. I'm trying to help. Kid speaks awesome. Here it is. That's not it. That is a freak. What else I wonder about it? Like, what did he... What was the thought there? Like, what feeling would we get from it listening to it? Like, would we be like...
Oh, that's pretty. Like, I remember back in the day when I was, yeah. Do we take it and say that that's awful? I love it. It can't. It's beautiful. It's beautiful. I love it. Every song needs clarinet. Can't you love me just a lie? Because I just can't stand to see. One more sunset. More sunsets. Casey. Hey, Mike. When I was at my wedding all day getting ready. You got married? My brother's wedding. You guys finally did it? I misspoke. But when all day I was getting ready for the wedding, my brother's wedding on Saturday, and all day I was going, beach blast. You were singing beach blast? And then I was going, wedding blast. Ashley's pumping now too. I love how they're selling a product that doesn't need, like you don't, you can't buy it.
You can't buy that kind of fun. You know what I mean? You just need a sweatshirt and your arms. Yes. That's all it takes. No assembly required. Okay. Can we have an appointment to get to? Oh, yeah, we do. Oh, crap. Super wine. Super wine. We have 10,000 B.C. Anyone? Anyone? Oh, yeah. I kind of want to see that. The dude who did The Day After Tomorrow. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I heard it was a turd. Yeah, but it looks cool, we heard. But it's terrible. But the story was horrible. The Spiderwick Chronicles. Mary Louise Parker. Anyone? Fantasy? Okay. Guess not. Definitely, maybe. Ryan Reynolds. Yes, that looks cute. Okay. Eddie just gave me the finger. Why doesn't Lars and the Real Girl come out again? So you can wait two months to watch it. Oh! Wow.
Can I borrow it one more time? You can buy it. Dude, eventually buy it. I just want to borrow it one more time. Every time I want to watch it, I just ask if I can borrow it. If you'd like to. We have Honey Dripper, Danny Glover, again, and Jimmy Singer. Charlie Bartlett, Robert Downey Jr. Skye is now announcing porn new releases. And Bruce, Colin Farrell. No, okay. Oh, Eddie. TV shows to DVD, early edition, the first season. Awesome. Oh, double flip. The New Adventures of Old Christine, the complete second season. Awesome. Sky likes that. Evening Shade, season one. Double flip off. Sesame Street, Elmo's World, summer vacation. Actually, that will... Is that out today? That's out today. Well, that's part of the new release. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So what is a new release? What are we doing? What does that mean? Where am I? What is that? What is this you speak of? And then finally, we have the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Volume 82, Pride of a Champion, Diego Sanchez, Dan Henderson. Yeah, it's something we care about. What is that Elmo thing called? Sesame Street, Elmo's World, Summer Vacation. Okay. And maybe for his birthday, Mike. Oh, no. Appointment. Pumpers. Pumpers. Pumpers like the pie. Pumpers like the pie.
Beach Blast. Not get Beach Blast. No, I did it all day, and I was like, and no one got it. 5701053. Yes, Ashley. Rob and I would like to make an announcement about tonight. What have you got going on? Tuesday night or something? Yeah, dude, because, you know, last week. You guys will be home by 8, though, right? We got to stay out a little later. We got to stay out a little later, Mike. What are you doing? The Babes in Bikini Contest. This is the third and final round to come in and try to do it, because then after this, it'll be the finals. Right, Robbie? So we're qualifying our last six girls, but come on down. And we're there from 7 to 9, and it's down at Canes, Byron Grill, and Mission Beach. And Ashley will pump it on stage. I will. I'll absolutely pump it on stage. Nice. But it was cool, because last week a lot of people...
ones came out, so hopefully more will come out tonight because it's fun. Canes Bar and Grill in Mission Beach tonight, 7 to 9 p.m. Calm down. There's drinks, $3, you call it. And karaoke after. Karaoke after, and gorgeous girls came out last week, so I'm going to assume this week will be the same. And Rob does it all in a bikini. That is true, and it's really hot. He's so cut. Really cool. Mikey show, hello. Hey, can you play Petite Beat? Yes. I've had it in my head all week long. Nobody believes it's a real song. It's the greatest. I can't find it on the internet, and they're like, yeah, right. I'm like, no, dude, Petite Beat, it's a real song. It's probably the funniest of all of them. It's my favorite one. I love it. I mean, I sit on you, all of those, of all of their stuff, probably that's the funniest. It speaks to everybody. It does. It speaks to everybody. And the video makes it even better. If you could imagine that. Wait, wait, wait. Here we go. I would like to know how that writing process goes down, by the way. Right? So what do you think of Petite? First you do a line. No, first you mass it, and then you dive into the brainstorming of it. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, Mikey, this is P1 Jamers. I want to know how your dad is doing. I gave you some advice about his heart stuff earlier. He's doing good, and, you know, he finally was able to get a pretty good doctor over there at Kaiser.
And so I think he's doing pretty good. I'm going to check in with him because he, that's the thing. He kind of let me know in a, the coolest way he could kind of way. Like you don't have to take care of me kind of thing. You know what I mean? Like he's, I think he's in that stage where he doesn't want to be old guy that has to be looked after by his kid kind of thing. So he was kind of giving me that deal. But when I, when he gets back, I'm still going to. Be all over them about it, you know? You have to. He's your dad. Yeah. All right. Well, before I go, it's been a while since I called to tell you guys how amazing you are. No, Sean, I hate to hear that. And how lucky we are in San Diego to have you. Thank you very, very, very much. Thank you. Thank you, guys. Appreciate that. Thank you. And are you telling your friends to listen? Absolutely. Yeah, you got to tell your friends. Thank you. You're the best. Thank you. You are. You're the best. No, you are. I don't deserve you. Okay, everyone says that.
Thank you, Jamers. Thanks, guys. Bye. Mikey Show. Hey, it's P12J. What's up? Yeah, I was just wondering, I have a question for Neil Diamond. You had a question for Neil Diamond? Yeah. What was your question? Yeah, I just recently got some soda pop underwear, and I was wondering if he had some tips for how I could put him to good use. You recently got some golden diamond or wedges? Oh, the soda pop underwear that makes you mad. Why don't you take the drugs out of your mouth? I don't know that he's... You little pill-popping horse shack. You're acting like that homosexual Jamie Farr on MASH. Remember, he was always wearing... All he ever does wear were dresses. Well, he wasn't gay. He was trying to get out of the army. But he's wearing lipstick all the time and the fake eyelashes. Why don't you admit you're a fairy and go home there, Jamie? He had a big nose. I don't think there's neither here nor there. Well, listen, stop the music. Oh, don't do it. I don't want to play the music again. Stop it. Stop. There went my guitar. You don't have to throw it down so angry. You still there, you little drug filthy filthor? Filthy filthor. Let's play devil in blue jeans. Let's do it. Come on. Slow it down a little bit. All right. Slow the mood down.
I wrote this song one time about a hooker that I met. It was right before I had an affair with Kathie Lee before she married the GIF. Hey, Neil, time it. Probably shouldn't. It goes a little something like this. You kids, you like to take drugs, don't you? You kids, you like to take drugs, don't you? You kids, you take all those drugs, you filthy little... You're a bunch of... Oh, no. Here we go. Give me... Put the guitar down. Pick it up. A bunch of fascists. Fascists? Chakami pigs. No. Let's play Sweet Caroline. Come on, let's do it. Oh, yeah. Here we go. Robbie. Maybe this will get you in the right zone here. Finally. Come on. I wrote this song the night before I knocked off my first wife, Helen. Okay. The years they thought she fell down, but it was actually...
Absinthe mixed with a little... I don't even remember what it was. It was a blue pill. I put about four or five of them in there. You missed your mark. You're singing already. When it began... Helen was quite a woman. Wait, that's not the word. Until she went and had sex with Artie. That was the guy that used to manage me back in 1965, right? Then I said, filthy, cheatin' necky... Taking you to the... Give me the guitar. You're all filthy. Take your Viagra. One more. Crackle and Rosie, and then we get out of here. Needles before you use them. Don't you can get that stuff that you know will make you ill. Like my Uncle Phil. He was a doctor, but now he isn't because he divorced my second aunt. Because I told him that she was going to cheat on him the minute they started dating. And you know what he decided to do? Run off.
With my uncle, the two of those guys liked each other the whole time. Get this guitar out of my face. Yeah, that one. I think it was so good. I knocked it out of tune that time. You still there, you little communist pig? You rock. Hope you enjoyed me. Thanks, guys. You're awesome. Mikey Show. Yes, I was wondering if, well, I'm not sure if you guys have listeners that are interested in acting or... Film arts, but I'd like to kind of promote this. We'll have a casting call in the Actors Alliance today. Oh, boy. Are they bringing back Renegade? Because if so, we've got to get. Can we get Bob on the line? We can never get Bob on the line. What are you talking about? If you tell him it's Renegade, he'll be on. The lovely and talented Missy is coming. Sue Siegel, where are you? The lovely and talented Missy is up next. She has, on the nooner.
The all-request lunch hour. Hope you enjoy it. We'll see you back here tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out.
