checked herself into a hospital in France. Padres went from scoring 15 runs to zero. Strange. 570-1053 is a phone number. You can call us at the beginning and end of every show. It's open phone. It messed up my whole life. It messed everything up. It messed things up? Oh, it screwed everything up. Oh, no. It messed it all up. Why? Well, it started with, I got up late today. I had to. You know, I set the alarm late. I set the alarm to 3 a.m. I had to. Because I was going to bed kind of late last night. Set the alarm to 3 a.m. Get in the shower. Shave off the mustache. Okay? I'm working my way to maybe going for this whole thing. Clean shaven. Okay? Maybe. Wow. And then just an unfortunate series of events takes place. What? I'm leaving the house. Forget my watch. So I go, my watch. And then I get in the car. And I start the car.
And the gas light comes on. Oh, no. And I'm already kind of late. Right. So now I got to go get gas. So I go get gas. And then I go into the Starbucks. I'm really late. Like, I got no business in there anyway. And she goes, oh, I need decaf. What? But your Starbucks. It's going to take about four minutes. So what am I going to do? Go to work without coffee? That's not possible. You can't do that. That's not going to happen. And so she's. Do what she does at. And that's it up to this point. But that was enough to just start me off a little bit, you know. It's bad luck already. Rocky Road ice cream, you know what I mean? Oh, yeah. And I'm used to mint chocolate chips, so. That's weird. Yeah. Right now I'm blaming it on the mustache. Oh, for sure. Of course. The mustache obviously held in it a lot of, you know, fortunate events. Yes. And so, you know, hopefully by 10 o'clock it'll have grown back. All right.
Yeah, that's a different look, right? Holy cow. What do you think, Shawnee? Are you seeing this? Are you catching that right there? You're a little far away. Let me zoom in. How do you like me now, Shawnee? Oh, wow. I understand. It's very different. It's very, very different. What's your name again? What is my name? I'm Mikey. Okay. I know. It doesn't look like me, right? Doesn't look like me. I don't believe it's you. Yeah. I will say this. It's quite kissable. Oh, wow. Why would you say that? Why would you say that? I mean, I'm not saying anything beyond that. That is maybe the creepiest thing ever been said in the history of things being said. All right. So my name is Mike, and I don't have a mustache. And welcome to the program. Give me a rough one. Oh, no.
I'm going to turn it awesome. It's going to be awesome. No. Eddie is our producer and sports guy. He is 35 years old. He will not be shaving his mustache anytime soon. You guys wouldn't even recognize me. No. Do it. Most people in my life have never seen me without a goatee. Yeah? Can you guys imagine? What if Eddie came in here totally clean? She would never speak to me again. I probably literally wouldn't be able to make eye contact for 24 hours. Oh, I might want to do that. Oh, no. She would be so upset. She's giving him a look right now that says, yeah, just try to be without me for 24. You just give that a shot, buddy. Um, Let's see. Sky is our news girl. She is 30 years old. And yeah, she has a new air conditioner rocking at the house, which is real sweet. It's working good yesterday. It's real good. Yeah. Let's see. Shawnee, oh boy, is our sound effects guy. And there he is in the camera. You can see him right there in the camera. He's very... So cute. That's right. He lives up in the Bay Area. We see him on a camera. Ashley.
She is our assistant producer, and she's a quarter of a century old. She's 25 years of age, and she's got blonde hair on a little sweater today. But it's one of the kind that Eddie is now doing his bangs in honor of Ashley. She went to town on it about 15 minutes ago. Really? Yeah. I mean, I was watching her, and it was crazy. Should it be that much work? I mean, is it worth it if it's that much work? And they don't even change. Yeah, there was no difference. To you, they might not. To you, they might not. That's the trick. Got it? Right. Exactly. Great trick. What she says that she's doing with the bangs is making sure that they're completely even. Yes, dispersed perfectly, aligned with my forehead. That's right. That's what she's doing. Equilibrium needs to be. Boston Rob, he's our phone screener. So when you call in, that's who you talk to. We're sorry. We needed something for him to do. I know. Rob, do you say Mikey show? You just go Mikey show. I wonder what it sounds like. What's your rap? What's the speed at which you go? It depends on the person. Some people, I don't think they really have figured out the phone yet. I'll say Mikey show. Hello.
and something will be going on in the background. Like, they don't realize they're, you know, on the phone. Do you give them any time? Oh, yeah, yeah. I'll wait, and I'll go, hello? Yes, I'm on the phone. And then, you know, you'll hear something else going on, and then finally, oh, hey, is this the radio station? Oh, wow. I'll go, yeah, what's going on? Did you hear me? Oh, well, this is Rock 105.3. Oh. Yeah, yeah, it's, hey, Mikey. Oh. Oh, no, dude. It's Rob. Which is so weird, man, because when I'm answering the phone live on the air, what I get is, hey, Rob. Yeah. Oh, was it yesterday or two days ago? This guy called up and goes, hey, Sean, listen. What the heck? And I just let him go. That's the strangest thing in the world. Idiot. That is strange. And he had no point. I think he was drunk. Yeah? More people than you would imagine call in on some kind of drug. Something going on? Oh, yeah. I'm drunk.
You can text us too. 35253 is the text number. And you can call us at 5701053. The guy that goes through all the text messages is our seventh member. And his name is Roosevelt Zethian Oates III Jr. Esquire. Wow. And yeah, he goes through those text messages. So send him 35253. He finds us the doozies. Yeah. As we like to say. Sky. You got your third Nora Roberts book. Yeah. Isn't that the dirty one that you were reading before that you were like real creeped out about? Yeah. Remember, she thought it was like porno, but we were all like, hey, our moms read Nora Roberts. Yeah. But by the end of that book, I kind of got used to it. And then. Now you're horny for it. No. And then the boo.
picked me up a second one like he was on Amazon and ordering some stuff he's like oh I'll get her another book and that one was really good like that had like a great story and not as much sex so I now just yesterday bought a third one and hopefully this one will be kind of lower on the sex scale too it creeps her you know it really makes her uncomfortable Oh, yeah, especially when I'm in public, like, reading it, if I'm waiting at the dentist's office. You're a real hooker. Bus stop or whatever happened to me. Bus stop? Hey, listen, Skye said the last one that she was reading was so dirty that this married couple kissed with open mouths. Oh, gross. They were not married, Mike. They were practically a brother. Oh, my goodness. Gross. You know, it hurts, but it feels so good. Not by blood, but they grew up together. 570-1053. I send people pictures of my genitals to teach them lessons. It's a terrible, terrible thing to say. You've got a dirty, horish mouth. It's awful. 35253 is our text number. Our phone number is 570-1053. And you can give us a call at the beginning and end.
of every show. P1 Runner. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up? Hey, so I'm in Mission Valley yesterday with my girlfriend, and I'm sitting down and across the way a little bit down in a booth is sitting Mr. Papani and his wife. Nice. And so, you know, I'm sitting there and eating my dinner, and, you know, I was just thinking in my head, it must be weird. You know, I didn't want to go over it, bother him, all that. And so I'm sitting there, and I'm thinking, being in your guys' position, It must be really weird having P1s come up to you all the time. What's that like? You know, I don't think it is anymore because we've been doing it for a really, really long time. We've been on the air for a long time, so when P1s come up, I think it's really nice. Yeah, like, I get that. I really get that, but, like, I was thinking, I'm like, dude, okay, Debra, like, as Eddie's wife, if I were to walk up after a while, like, or your wife or Sky's husband or whoever, like, it must get a little bit irritating. Like, if you just want to spend some time with your hubby or your wife or whatever, and you got, like, people constantly coming up, hey, how's it going? Well, I want to hear what Eddie thinks about it because he actually probably met you last night. But just from my point of view, honestly, this is really the way that I feel about it. Honestly, I feel like P1s are friends. Like, we're all friends on the show, and everybody that's listening.
The goal is that you listen and you're like, yeah, I'm a part of that. Like these are my friends that I wake up with every morning. And so it's no different than a friend coming over and saying, hey, dude, I didn't know you were here or whatever like that. But the big thing that I want to say is just like with any situation, it's all about like the approach and what people say. Like if people come up and say, because sometimes people come up and they'll say really rude or. What they think is funny. Or what they think is funny. You know what I mean? On the air, totally funny to give Skye a hard time about ham in front of her husband at a restaurant when she's eating. Probably not. Like, if you walked up to Skye outside of the show, it'd probably be nice to be like, hey, Skye, I really love the show. It's nice to see you. You wouldn't want to be mean. Calling me a beating in front of my husband doesn't go over so well. It's just not, it's not, it's not very polite. But on the air, in context on the air, it's totally funny. It makes sense in here. Or, you know, Skye loves it. She desires it. Or she encourages ham talk. You know, wants you to do it. Or not.
So, Eddie, what was it like? Well, you know, I love it. I love when people say what's up and, you know, it's always really cool. This guy kind of got in my head a little bit, though, because he, I'm walking out and he goes, hey, Mr. Papani. And I shook his hand. Yeah. And I said, oh, hey, what's up, man? Nice to meet you. And, you know, it was real quick. Right. And then I thought immediately, like, what? Is that somebody I know? And I kind of got in my head and I freaked out a little bit. And I'm like, I just said nice to meet you. And I didn't recognize him. And I didn't know if that guy knew. Because nobody calls me that. I mean, everybody says, hey, what's up, Eddie? Or whatever. And so it tripped me out a little bit. I don't think I know him. P1 Runner, why Mr. Papani instead of Eddie? Well, I don't know. I mean, I guess just probably because you guys have a lot of jackasses come up to you and say stuff like, super wine or whatever. Whenever you're just in public, and I figured, I'll just address him as a normal guy. He's a normal guy. You know, I don't want to be a jackass. Just want to say, hey, what's up? Right. And, you know, I kind of expected him to stop just for a second. But, you know, obviously he was with his wife. I didn't want to, you know, interrupt. They looked like they were going somewhere type of thing. And, you know, my girlfriend wanted to meet Eddie, but she was actually on the phone with my mom. But, you know, it was just a little quick, hey, what's up type of thing. And, you know, I've been listening to you guys since.
before even the first 28-hour show in a long time. I've never met Eddie before. I met B-Rob once a long time ago at a bar in North County. What a surprise. Listen, I think it's super, super cool when P1s come and say hello. I think it's super cool. My wife thinks it's cool, too. My wife only had one request of me, and that is, hey, you can introduce me to people because it's kind of like... polite to say and this because sometimes I would forget I'd say oh hi how are you doing it's nice to meet you and I always remember now to go this is my wife Rebecca you know because I just I'm dopey in that way but and I'd like to say for the record I prefer people coming up instead of just doing the stare throughout your whole entire meal because I get that a lot People just stare. Yeah. And so I would appreciate you to come over and say something. Everywhere I go. Just staring. Either, listen, either. Shut up. You know what I mean. Either bring your own Sharpie. Yes. Or 8x10. Yes. Yes. Listen, here's a message for all of you. Take a picture. It lasts long. Thank you. How about that?
I know it's hard. You can't keep your eyes off. Yes, don't divert your eyes from this. Well, and then my husband looks over at me and he says, well, darling, if you didn't leave the door open while you were going, people wouldn't stare. Why would it be different in public than if he's at home? Listen. P1 Integrity. Concrete. That must be a plug for his company or something. Yeah, it is. What's up, dude? Hey, I was just wondering why Skye's not tripping on you shaving your mustache like she trips on anybody else who altered her appearance. Oh, I'm tripping. I think she's tripping. Yeah, like when I first saw it, I don't, I don't. She can't even look. It's hard. It's hard. She's straight tripping. Yeah, she's not having the easiest time with it. It's not easy. It's a struggle. It is not easy. It's a little bit of a struggle. It's not easy. It's not easy. Thank you very much. Oh, no. What were you going to say? Well, he tricked me. He did the whole, okay, hey. You know, when you have that tone. All right, well, cool. You have that tone. Yeah, the tone. Okay, cool. Tonality. All right. And the people pick up on it, and they go, oh, it must mean the conversation's coming to a close. You know what I'm saying? Let's see. Last night, this is what Ashley made for dinner. Oh, come on. Talk about it.
So early. Break it down. Fusili with spicy lean Italian turkey sausage, green peas, and mozzarella. The appetizer was French bread loaf with oregano sun-dried pesto oil for dipping and a salad with golden raisins and pecans. For dessert, vanilla ice cream with fresh raspberries, blueberries, and light whipped cream. What's up? Oh, so healthy. Sounds great. That sounds great. Is there anything to say? I say it sounds great. Sounds. Did Mark give you a letter grade or a number grade on that? What did you get? Did you pass inspection? He was blown away, Mike. That's good, yeah. It was delicious. He can't believe that I've never cooked in my life because it was so good. You better keep it that way, kid. All right? That's all I'm saying. Like, I'm a natural at this. I've picked it right up. There's a great recipe from one of my cookbooks, and I just went to Henry's, picked up the goods, and I made it. And it was great. Can you smell what the Mac is cooking? It smells good. Good. Eddie, are you getting ready for the move or what? What is the deal? Tomorrow you get your keys maybe? I hope so. I don't know. You loading everything in your truck or what are you doing? Well, no. We're going to have a small rental thing in a truck. In fact, I went into U-Haul yesterday.
I don't know why these things happen to me, but I go into U-Haul yesterday and I walk in and I'm looking for boxes because I want to buy boxes. And the, I guess, boss is screaming right behind the counter at one of his employees. Right in front of me. They don't even acknowledge it. The customer is there, doesn't even acknowledge it. So I stand there and I stare. And I'm like, please, you know, be uncomfortable, you two, like I am. And he didn't care. I mean, screaming at the guy. And I'm like, dude, I'm right here. And he didn't stop. How long did you have to wait? Another employee came to help me while these two were going at it. Really? Yeah, right in front of me. And I'm like, is this, like, customer service? Is this where we're at? Nobody cares? See, I got that little thing that I put in my pocket, that little video recorder. Can you imagine pulling that out and just start taping? That would have been a beautiful sensation. It wasn't just like, I'm mad. It was like, I'm furious. And I was like, you've got to be kidding me right now. I'm looking at the other employee like, what's going on? I'm standing right here. Did the other employee offer a, like, sorry about that? No. He was kind of a...
A goofball, too. Yeah. Because then he goes, I bought four boxes. He goes, are you sure you don't want ten? And I go, have you got a deal or something? He goes, nope. No, I'm good with four. Yeah. In that case, I'll take a hundred. It's like Twilight Zone there, man. Would you like a pallet of boxes instead? I'm good. That is strange. 570-1053 is the phone number, and our text number is 35253. We'd love to hear from you. We got a great YouTube clip of the day today. You ladies will really enjoy this one. It's quite possibly the strangest sort of leave a message on a girl's voicemail to try to get her to go out with him that I've ever heard. Shut up. The guy is selling himself is what he's doing. He's selling himself. You guys know that they're closing a bunch of Starbucks? I heard a blurb on the news. Why?
I think, well, I'm sure the simple answer, Sky, is what? The economy? Yes. Okay. What I think it is, is people are going, I can't spend that extra dough on Starbucks because of gas. Well, that's the economy, yeah. Yeah, but it's not the whole economy. I think it comes down to gas. Yeah. Well, they're saying, you know, the housing crunch, rising food prices, rising gas prices. You add it all together and things like Starbucks fall off your list of things you can afford. It's one thing. Yeah. That's it. And so they'll be closing 600 stores starting this month and going into the middle of next year. And they say that most of the stores that they're closing are newer stores that have opened close to existing stores. They're on every blog. Yeah, so they kind of feel like the stores are feeding off of each other, you know. I heard that the Starbucks inside my Starbucks is going to have to close next week. Because they just opened a Starbucks at the Starbucks I go to. Do you realize, you know, there's a Starbucks right here? Yeah. That this Vons, like literally a block away, has a Starbucks in it? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Not even a block away. Yeah, like less than a block. Like half a block. Like 100 yards. There's one by my house. There's a mall. There's one in it. And then right across the street, there's another one. And then maybe a half a block down the street, there's another one. Ugh. How is there not a Starbucks in this studio right now? There should be. Yeah. That'd be great. At least in the building. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
So anyway, yeah, they got to close about 600 of them. But listen, I say forget all that housing, crunch, grocery, gas, man. I think that the price of gas is so gnarly, it's changing the way we do everything. Yeah, it is. It's changing everything. Well, it is changing a lot because it's like to ship the food. Like if you pretty much any restaurant you go into, you'll notice they have a new menu because they've jacked up all their prices because everything is costing more. I've been noticing that. Yeah. And that's why because everything is costing more. Yeah. Actually, earlier in the week, you reported the cheap gas prices and one of them was in Imperial Beach. I can't get gas there anymore because everybody is going there. I seriously have to wait like five, ten minutes just to get to the pump. Yeah. It's crazy. Yeah. It's nuts, man. This gas thing is stupid. And nothing's going to happen about it. That's the worst. We can't do anything about it. No politician. Can't do anything. Except come up with a different way to do it. And those scooters are so nerdy. Take a segue. I love it. A lot of people don't care about how nerdy it looks. I don't care. You don't care, right, Sky? No, I don't.
Yeah, the problem is you can't stick them on the freeway, but aside from freeway driving, maybe that's the way to go. You don't care though, right? Oh, no, I don't care at all. Who cares? On a little bike helmet and beep beep. Of course, you gotta be safe. Yeah? Yeah, the only problem with those though, because they'd be great for like going around town running errands, but where do you put like all your groceries, you know? Right. It's kind of, that's toughy. Gotta work that out. What do they call you? Wheels? Whatever. 35253 is the... Text number, our phone number, 570-1053. Oldie but a goodie from Boston Rob. That's Systematica, boys and Systematic. Text number is 35253. Okay, so here's what we have on the show today. We're going to do a little lyrical gangsta for you. Eddie's getting it right now. We also have an email about a girl who blogged about her first date. Like, what would you think of that, you turkey? YouTube clips of the day is fantastic. Sean TV. So Sean will be introducing us to some sort of new TV show that he's watching. Oh, good. Got a great one today. You know what my wife was watching last night? Wipeout? Is that that show where they're jumping on stuff? Yeah, yeah. She likes it. It's hysterical. She's 100% in on it. 570-1053. Hey, when we come back, I'm going to tell you

You will find a backup, though, developing on the South 15 right now as you come out of Escondido. It's pretty much slow and go off the 78th of the Rancho Parkway. Some reduced speeds again to the Rancho Bernardo and bunching up one more time in Carmel Mountain Ranch. The westbound 52 is starting to slow a little bit here as you come up the hill out of Santee to the top of the summit. The 8th freeway westbound looking great in the Mission Valley. Your king freeway 94.
That's fine in the downtown. Both the 5805 northbound are looking good out of the South Bay up to National City. However, the 805 is starting to jam up a little bit through North Park from University Avenue just past El Cajon Boulevard. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Now back to the Mikey Show. A very enlightened Mikey. Yeah, I don't like the dark. Eddie. I've had a goatee now going on about 13 years. Guy. You know me. I live the life of like a 65-year-old woman. Sean. I'm a germaphobe. Boston Rob. I thoroughly enjoy listening to jazz music. And Ashley. Due to my carelessness, I'm extremely prone to self-inflicting injury. Get to it already. Rock 105.3. Who dis? Yeah, dude. Jack Black. Tenacious D. It's like all the Australian rockers. There you go. Very funny. It's 640.
The Wynn Hotel in Vegas has filed a lawsuit against Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis for $2 million for a marker he never repaid. One day after opting out of his contract, Baron Davis signs a five-year, $65 million deal with the Clippers. So I have to say that yesterday as I was, you know, just like driving around and seeing people on the streets and whatever, I saw a ton of those little Bluetooth devices in ears. I saw them. all over. I would like to make one little statement about that. Please, Eddie. Once you're out of your car, take it out of your ear. Don't keep talking. Take it out of your ear. They're not on the phone. They just leave them in their ears. You look like a tool. Take it out. I appreciate that statement. It's very Star Trek. It's a little nerdy. You want to see them and go, hello, greetings. It's always the guy with the white button-down shirt. Yes. Tie. Yes. No jacket. Nope. Sunglasses. Mm-hmm. Bluetooth. Yes. Drives me nuts. And he's not on the phone. No. Just has it. He's just important. Yes. He's so important. I'm prepared. Yeah. He's just important. At a moment's notice. Hi, Karen. Hi. Hi. Wait a minute. Wrong turn. Oh, were you calling about a business transition? Oh, sure. This is Karen Carpet. Hi.
Yes, I'm on the phone. Oh, hi. Yes, I've spent most of the day reporting people that aren't hands-free. I screwed up. You did? I didn't even realize that I made a phone call. No way. Wasn't even thinking. Oh, my gosh. You've got to be kidding me. You're lucky that this guy didn't get a hold of you. Cut 35. And I definitely see people talking on their cell phone, like, doing all sorts of crazy things. And I'm like, whoa, you know, like, get off your Fargan phone, man. Like, what's going on here? I think he made it pretty clear how he feels. Scott, what's your problem? Fargan phone? Yeah, he said get off your Fargan phone. Get off your Fargan phone, man. You know, he doesn't want you on the phone, you know. He says get off of that crazy contraction. Get off your Fargan phone, man. Yeah, that's what he's saying. We got it. You know? But yeah, so that thing went into effect yesterday. And yeah, as I was driving around, I saw it. It's so funny looking, seeing people talk to themselves. If they don't have the earpiece in, it means that they have something like I do, you know, where it's coming out of like, I don't even know where it comes out. It comes out of somewhere. There's a microphone somewhere. I don't even know where it's at, but I'm sitting there just talking. And I look like I, you know, I'm schizophrenic. And I'm talking to myself.
And I saw, but the lady behind me yesterday, I look in my rearview mirror and I can see her little Jabra Bluetooth device in her ear. And she's like, it looks so funny. So everybody's doing it. Did Zeth put yours in, Sky? Yes, but when it comes to all this new crazy technology, there are little things that Zeth assumed I knew that I don't know. So he set it all up for me. We tested in the office. Oh, awesome. It works. Ready to go. It's like this thing that I got from Cricket that just hooks to your visor. So it's like a speakerphone in your car, but it hooks to your visor. So I get in the car. I'm trying to call my husband on the way home, and it is not working. Why? What is it doing? It's not working, and I'm getting very upset. So I keep basically crank calling my husband over and over again because I can't get the speakerphone thing to come on. I didn't realize that when you're going to use a Bluetooth thing, you need to set your phone to Bluetooth mode. Okay. And then when your phone is away from the Bluetooth thing, the Bluetooth mode shuts off.
So since my phone had been away from the visor thing since we tested it, Bluetooth mode shut off. And I didn't realize that there was even such a thing that I had to turn back on. Well, here's my question. Yeah. And maybe this is the deal with it. But it just isn't the way that mine works. But maybe it is the way that yours works. Mine either detects it or doesn't detect it. And so, you know, and I probably had to set it initially. Yeah, mine only searches for it when you, like, turn the feature on. And then once you bring the phone away from the... It goes off. It goes off. And it won't come back on unless you turn it back on. Okay, so when you come back to your car, you got to manually do that every time. Yeah, so, like, when I get in my car, I have to turn the Bluetooth feature on every time I get in my car. That's annoying. Yeah, and then, like, a little icon comes on the screen of my phone letting me know that the Bluetooth feature is on. And I was so angry. I, like, crank-called my husband probably, like, eight times before I finally gave up. Get off your Fargan phone, man. Right. All right. So I got it all figured out last night. I'm ready to go. I had a friend who I was supposed to talk to yesterday, and they said, yeah, I'll call you in five minutes. And about 10, 15 minutes go by, and then finally I get a text that says,
I can't figure out my Bluetooth. I'll call you when I get home. My new Bluetooth. Because everybody had to make the switch to this new Bluetooth stuff because of the law. So, Skye, how many tickets did they give out to people yesterday that had phones up to their head? Well, when they did a count yesterday afternoon, there were 81 citations that had been issued. Yeah, most of them were in Chula Vista, 55 in Chula Vista, 9 in IB, 5 La Mesa, 3 Escondido, 3 Santee, and 2 in the area that covers Encinitas, Solana Beach, and Del Mar, and then 4 on different highways around the county. I wonder if they were, like, were they focusing there, or was that just where it happened? I don't know. That's weak, man. Yeah, 55 in Chula Vista. And it's crazy because the California law states that it's like a $20 fine for your first offense. But here in San Diego County, it's $97 for your first offense. And then $211 for each offense after that. So I don't know why it's more in some counties than it is in other counties. But the minimum by the state is $20. But here in San Diego, it's like...
basically $100 for your first offense. Uncle Mikey, could I make a contribution to the show? What's Beto doing here? Beto's my nephew. Yeah, I got a ticket, dude. You can't drive. Yeah, dude, I was driving my low rider yesterday. You're a low rider. And what do you know? I see the red and blues in my rear view. But you're 14. You don't even have a permit. It's not true, dude. I'm 26. No, it is. And so I pulled over, dude. And I'm all, smells like bacon. Okay, that's not. You need to be respectful. He doesn't realize. He tries to act tough. He doesn't realize that that's not the way to go. Don't say that. Then I rolled down my window and this big old fat donut eater came up. Don't talk like that. And I was all, what's up, pig? I don't.
First of all, you didn't do that. Don't say that. That's rude. People shouldn't act like that, and Beto shouldn't act like that. And so I was all, I was all, what, dude? And he was all, where is your Bluetooth Jabra device? I was all, what is that, dude? I don't even know what that is. He's all, yeah, man, you gotta be hands-free, dude. And I was all, what? And he was all, what? And I was all, what are you saying? He's all, what? And so I took off my shirt. He's all, what? Why would you do that? And I was all, yeah, pig, you're my lady. Oh, really? Beto. I let him off with a warning. You let him off. This text message says, hey, you guys should record some of B-Rob answering the phone and do a bit.
With the dumb and funny ones. That's not bad. Record Boston Rob answering phone calls. That's funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Mikey, does Eddie need help moving or would that be weird? That's P1 Red Sox. It's up to you. Yeah, I'm good. Wait a second. I have help. Well, we should just give him your number just in case if he's listening. You never know. P1 Brandon. Mikey, what's going on, man? What's up? Not much. Hey, you guys heard about it a couple months ago in El Cajon. They banned smoking in all public places, even including your house. That's not true. Well, yeah, it is. It was on the news. Well, not like inside your house, but if you live in an apartment complex and you live in a common area and you're smoking it and it goes out the door. If you were told that, the person didn't know what they were talking about. Look on the internet. What's the internet? What the heck is the internet? No, dude, listen. I don't think that that's a deal. We do news here every day, and I think that would have made some pretty big news. Put it on the board. We can't put it on the board yet. No, we'll buffer it. We'll buffer it down on the web tube, but we'll face face it.
Face space. Sky, you on that buffering? Yeah, smoking prohibited in most public spaces, which is, you know, nothing new. Yeah. Let's see. Can you smoke in your house? Yes, you can smoke in your house. Would you smoke your dog? Would you smoke your cat? I mean, we did report a while back that either they had passed or they were talking about a law that would allow apartment buildings to make it a smoke-free building. But they would have to wait until your lease expired and then let people know, hey, this is a smoke-free building. You can live here or not. But only until your lease expired. So, yeah, what this guy is saying is not really the deal. Brandon, you're a little bit off there on that info. I'll look up the link and I'll email to you guys. Okay. Thank you very much. That is P1 Brandon who has stopped smoking in his apartment for fear of being arrested. Well, either way. It's a Mikey show. So here's what we're going to do. What is a T-Rex? I'm doing good. I'm going to try this lyrical gangsta. Yeah, dude, you'll get it. I'm going to give you three categories here. You got songs from movie soundtracks, classic rock, and 80s pop. What do you want? I'm going to try 80s pop. You got it.
Here is your 80s pop music question. In the song Der Komisar by After the Fire, they say, the more you live, the faster you will what? That is correct, actually. I love Dutch music. I don't know what he's saying. I can't understand what the man says. It's obviously Swahili. It's not. Hang on the line, T-Rex. Hang on. That was Chichewa. Was it Chichewa? That has to be it. Maybe it was Chichewa. Of course. P1 Travis. How you doing? Good, man. How you doing? Good, good. All right, dude. I'm going to give you three categories. You got songs from movie soundtracks, 80s pop music, and classic rock. What do you want? Songs from soundtracks. Let's do it. Your songs.
From Soundtrack's question is, in the song Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds from the movie The Breakfast Club, he says, tell me your troubles and doubts giving me everything inside and what? Say again. You got it. Didn't see the movie in the movie theater. Saw it like, I don't know, about... Six months or so after it came out in the movie theaters, it was on HBO. Watched it on HBO for the first time with my parents. They just happened to be in the room. But you guys have to understand that we lived separate lives. And so it wasn't weird that they were in there. I told you guys one time I had a dirty magazine on the car ride to Tucson. So it wasn't weird that they were in there.
And so we watched it, and when it was over, I said, that's the greatest movie I've ever seen in my life. And my dad was like, why? And I remember saying, if you don't understand why, you're not going to understand. Like, Dad. You don't know, Dad. Hang on the line. Let's see. Did he put a cigarette out on the arm? Yeah. Yeah, because that's what Mike gets when you spill some paint in the garage. Hey, Dad. Dude, when you think back on that, like, how about the scene of Anthony Michael Hall when he's breaking down after they smoke pot, you remember? Yes. He breaks down and he talks about how he has a gun. Dude, it's really a starter pistol. Dude. We got to get audio from that. It's so funny. It's so lame when you watch it now. P1 Steve, you there? Yeah, I'm here. What do you do, man? I'm an electrician. How old are you? I'm 39.
So how long have you been doing that line of work? I've been in the union for about 12 years. How many times have you been bit by that electricity real bad? Real bad, I've been bitten once. What happened? I got knocked across the room. I was taking apart a dryer that my partner had told me he disconnected and it was not disconnected. Oh my gosh. So now when you're doing stuff and people tell you that they've disconnected something, do you do it different? Yeah, and they train you to check it before you work on it. It was just my partner and I were in the room and we were just hauling. Dude. Yeah, it was interesting. Did it do anything to your body like in terms of leaving any marks or did it, you know, was there any way to look at you and know that something had happened? No. No, nothing like that, but I was definitely jittery for the rest of the day. Did you give it one of those... I can feel my fillings and my teeth get hot. Your three categories are 80s pop music, classic rock, and songs from movie soundtracks.
In honor of Sean today, I'm going to take 80s pop. Here's your 80s pop music question. In the song Rio by Duran Duran, he says her name is Rio and she dances on the sand just like that river twisting through a dusty what? That would be a dusty land. That would be correct. Yes. Sean was enjoying Tino's everywhere. I was seeking a cheese ball. You remember that video? Oh, dude. What a dorky video. Like, you look back at those videos now. Oh, man. They had epics on their hands. That's right. It's true. Actually, that one wasn't that bad. All right, Sean, please. I'm just saying. It was shot on film. It was really good. It was no take on me. I'll tell you that right now. It was no take on me. Well, it wasn't innovative like that, but it had great production values. Guy loves the 80s. What are you going to do?
P1 Napoleon. What's up, Mikey? Not too much, dude. What do you do for a living? I'm a mechanic. How old are you? 23. Speaking of mechanics, Zeth, did you call that guy yesterday? I think I wrote his number down wrong. I knew it. We should have made bets on if he did or not. Because I was going to say 0%. If he gets his car fixed, I knew he would not handle it. Then he would have nothing wrong. He has to have something. He has to. It's the exact kind of guy. He soaks in it, you know? He soaks in it. No, he soaks in his own self-pity. I'm soaking in it. So he should be extra soft. Oh, man. Okay, well, this man's a mechanic, and we'll get his phone number. for Zeth, and we'll get Zeth all dialed in. No, Zeth won't call him. Zeth will be like... Zeth said he called. He got the number wrong. He got the number wrong. All right, Napoleon, I'm going to give you three categories, and your categories are 80s pop music, songs from movies, soundtracks, or classic rock. What do you want? Let's do classic rock. Let's do it. Your classic rock question is, in the song Freebird by Leonard Skinner, he says...
For I must be traveling on now because there's too many places I've got to what? Max, sir. Eddie's got lighters going. Eddie's got lighters. There he is. Cell phone. Cell phone's out. Yeah, dog. Batch. That was nobody wrong. Dude, not one wrong. Never happened. Hey, congratulations, Napoleon. Can you hang on the line? It's number 35253. Phone number 5701053. When we come back, just got to let you know this. You've got good-looking speeds on most of the freeways, actually. Even the South 15 right now is looking fairly decent out of Escondido. A bit of a slowdown as you work your way through that construction zone at Ranch Bernardo, but nothing too serious here. The coast of the ride is outstanding as it has been all week long. Clear from Oceanside all the way to the border. East County is looking great as well. 894 moving right along. 52, a minor delay at the top of the summit there where you lose that lane. Even the 5 and 8 of 5 northbound are cooperating up into the city out of the South Bay. So enjoy the ride. I'm McLaurin. It's on Rock 105 for 8. Broadcasting from the Cricket Wireless Studios. This is the home of the Mikey Show. K-I-O-Z. San Diego. The Mikey Show. It's another Mikey. Mikey.
Mikey moment. Do you think that's weird when actors, like, they're in their costume, they have to be in character. Like, you couldn't go up to Heath Ledger at that point and be like, hey, bro, where are you going for dinner tonight? Like, I think that's weird. Well, Seth doesn't break character, you know? You come out and commercial breaks. And he still does that whole thing. I'm like, hey, dude, we're not on the air. You can, like... Mikey's show continues. Rock 105.3 719. Madonna spokeswoman has issued a statement denying rumors about Madonna getting a divorce and having an affair with A-Rod. The Barry Bonds home run ball that broke the record arrived at the Hall of Fame finally with the asterisk branded on it. Can you imagine? What are they going to do with that thing? It's crazy. What's weird is, you know, 20 years from now. Daddy, why does that baseball have that thing on it?
Wow, son, there was this dude that yoked up. He did it, like, really blatantly. What does that mean, Daddy, yoked up? It means this dude, Barry Bonds, he was like, you know, he was shooting this thing called steroids. He was shooting them up, and it made him into, well, you've seen The Incredible Hulk, son. You know The Incredible Hulk? Yeah, Dad. Yeah, he did that. He looked like The Incredible Hulk. Right. And so, well, what did he look like? before. He looked like you, son. So, anyway. That's weird. Didn't think they would let him, but they did. They let him put it in there. Welcome back. So, yeah, I told you about the beach booze ban. No booze at the beach. But, that doesn't mean that you can go in there with a big old, you know, house cup. Yeah. You know, your Tupperware house cup. Right. Which I love, by the way.
That is my favorite thing to drink out of is our Tupperware plastic cups is my favorite thing at home. In fact, I won't drink out of glass. Really? Don't like it. Don't like glass. You know why? Just a quick little bunny trail I'll take us on here. Okay. I think that when you drink out of glass that the glass stinks. You know, it just gets moist and gross. I don't like it. It gets like a wet smell and I don't. What? I don't like that. And it's slimy. I don't like the sliminess of it. And I think that it makes it taste colder. Not be cold. I like it being colder. I don't like it to have that cold taste. You are electric. So what are they going to do?
Let's have this Del Mar lifeguard explain Cut32. What this device does is it just tests whether the drink actually has alcohol. It's kind of like a breath analyzer. Our intent is not to go from blanket to blanket as far as testing every cup or every, you know, glass that we see. Our intent is that if we see a large group gathering, you know, the standard red cup, party cups. then it gives the ranger the capability of going in, testing if there is alcohol, and if not, then he can move on to other locations. There it is. Yeah, it looks like a flashlight, and then it has, like, lights on it. And basically, you wave it over your drink, and they say it actually, like, sucks in some of the air around. So if you have, like, a Coke bottle. Yeah. Or Coke can. And you put booze in it. Yeah. They can just wave it over that and then the lights will light up, you know, green to red. And if it hits red, that means alcohol and you get yourself a ticket. Wow. Can I read you guys what's written up on line three? One, Jared, is to quit his job because they won't let him use Facebook. No. Is that for real, Rob?
Oh, yeah. Wow. P1 Jared. Hey, good morning, guys. Good morning. How are you? Well, you know, I'm a little bummed. So can you say where you work? I'd rather not. I can tell you I work in inside sales at a lighting factory. Okay. And they will not let you use Facebook? Well... It's a new policy, which is what kind of ticks me off. They just came out with a memo on Friday saying that, you know, they can block the websites and they're going to block the social networking sites. And, you know, I'm not so much upset about MySpace. I'm more kind of upset about Facebook because I used to be into MySpace, but now I'm hardcore into Facebook. You are dirty. Oh, wow. And go ahead. Now I'm stuck. I think I might quit. I'm just processing, that's all. We'll be here until 4 o'clock because I'm going to process it until about 4 this afternoon. But you know the economy's not very good. It may be hard for you to get another job.
Oh, sorry. Did you know that gas is expensive? Well, I'm just saying. Seriously. If the job isn't that easy right now. Like, seriously. You know, I know, but, you know, it's really important for me to be, I get my work done. See, this is what, you know, they're not realizing. I always get my work done. I always get my work done. Clearly didn't get the TP. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Please, please, please. Eddie just said something really brilliant. Dude. P1 Jared? Yes. You know they're doing that because of you. Thank you. Great point. Eddie's probably right. Dude, they're probably doing it because of you. Because you're so hardcore. Because you're hardcore. You know, if you were a little bit more amateur, they wouldn't be like this. If you were at more of a novice level, then they probably wouldn't have.
Yeah, well, here's the deal. I can see both sides because on one side of it, I'm like, well, dude gets his work done. He's not, you know. I always hit my numbers. On the other side of it, on the other side of it, I'm like, well, it is work, you know. Like, it's work. Aren't you at work? They should be able to tell you that you can't play. Maybe I should look at some porn to throw them off. Well, maybe you shouldn't. Or you shouldn't. Or you shouldn't. Totally up to you. Your call. But, you know. I don't know. Eddie, what's your thoughts on this fella? Well, I mean, I don't know what job is cool with you just sitting back on your computer and goofing off. It's their time. It's their company time, and you're working. You're getting paid to do your work, not to goof off on Facebook. But in my defense, I do network with other people in the industry. Oh, well, then that's all. I'm so sure you do. Let's just move on. Yeah. Have you talked to, like, the people in charge and pled your case? No, I'm actually, I'm sort of mounting a little revolution. Oh, my gosh. Talking to my coworkers, just trying to get, you know, maybe a few of us. A coup. Maybe get a new or petition, you know.
July 4th is coming up. You know, it's all about, you know, standing up for your rights and saying, you know, hey. Freedom to slack off at work. That's right. Freedom to goof around on the PC. Thank you. P1 James is calling in because he's the guy that blocks those networking sites. Is that right, James? That's right. James? Yes, sir. Yeah, so that's what you do, right? Yes, sir. I enforce the internet policies here at work and help create them. Greetings. Now, I would picture this guy not being that much fun, but maybe I have it all wrong. You don't know. Yeah, because to do that job, though, Sky, don't you have to be like, stop doing that. That's a tough position to be in. Well, he just blocks it. Well, you see, it started as we used to let everybody do whatever they want. But, you know, we can cross-reference from when someone's on break. Yeah, you just got an IM from Facebook. You just got poked. Yeah, you just got poked on Facebook, bro. Ready to go respond real quick? We can hear you in the background. There's got something on your computer. What are you doing? Me? Yeah. Oh, there's nothing on my computer right now. Okay. I just got a call in my cell. I think people are hearing me. You better be careful, bro. Because it's getting, I don't know. So, blocker guy.
Blocker guy, what sites are blocked at your work? Are you talking about the guy that blocks them? Yeah. Hey, James. Yes, sir. What kind of sites do you block from the people? Anything related to guns, gambling, pornography, sex. So you couldn't go on the NRA website at your work? Yeah, you can't get on the NRA website at work. Uh-oh. Safety, maybe? They don't want people thinking about guns at work? Actually, it's a pretty broad policy. It's kind of where the device that blocks everything, it just references a list of stuff that's not allowed. Gotcha. So does that include MySpace and Facebook? MySpace, Facebook. I had to manually block Facebook because it was not in the list. And generally 90% of the social networking sites. And there's issues with it because you figure you spend maybe 30 bucks a month on your Internet connection at home. A business is going to spend a lot more. And so, you know, the bandwidth you use costs money. Some businesses host their own websites and stuff from their location for the customer base out there on the Internet. And if you have 60 people on MySpace and Facebook, you're using up that bandwidth that could be used for.
paying customers like dunder mifflin infinity yeah exactly dunder mifflin infinity yes all the sales need to be entered through the website thank you very much uh well p1 jared yeah um so what talk to me about your facebook are you on there and you're just like aren't you if you're being honest isn't there a little bit of socializing involved here i mean are you trying to represent that No, Mike, it's all about networking with fellow people in the industry. Yeah, like if we went to your picture section, would it be all pictures of just lighting? Yes, exactly. Is that what your pictures are? It's all lighting? You know, it's about connecting with people. It's songs, it's pictures. It's songs. It's songs about lighting, right? It's like when the lights go down. Right? We do connect with other people in the industry because, you know, our industry, because I'm inside sales, not outside. I don't get to go out and schmooze and take people out. See, you guys, what are you giving him a hard time for? How do animals do that? How can you guys be giving him a hard time? He can't go out and eat people. What is this, Nazi Germany? Yeah. He's a communist around here. Don't tell anybody that. I got a geek who sits next to me, and he says you can get me around it. Oh, my God. That's worth getting fired over. Totally. Just wait until you get home. P1 Oreo, are you there? If I get fired, at least I'll get work. I'll get, like, some insurance or whatever they're called.
Hang on a second. Go ahead, Oreo. Hey, I actually sell network security equipment that tracks everything you do from downloads to emails, in-going and out-going, instant message service. Even if you go on Google, it actually tracks the exact phrase that you put in. Really? Uh-oh. And you do that for companies? Yeah, I sell this to companies. I'm actually heading to work right now. Like, man, that seems like an invasion of privacy. If I found out that Clear Channel was doing that, I'd probably get you guys all together and we'd do a lawsuit. But it's a company computer. There's a lot of government regulations that they have to track this stuff. They have to archive emails. They have to have ingoing and outgoing, like archiving. There's so much stuff they have to track that this guy on Facebook not only does it obstruct productivity, but depending on what they look on sites, there's so many spam accounts on bikes. on uh myspace and stuff like that that it's just it's better for a company to block that right hey thanks for the call man yeah i mean uh i'm quitting i can't take this i don't think that they should be able to do that with your computer be able to look at it but even if it's like you're on a company computer it's a company bathroom they can't look at your private matters in there well that's different why
private parts. You're supposed to be doing work on your work computer. I believe that your work computer is a private part. The toilet is provided for you to do private things with. The computer is provided for you to do company things with. It's not provided to you to do public things with. Company things. Public to everyone in the company. I don't think that that means that the company gets to... be privy to everything. What you're telling me is the big boss isn't getting personal emails or, you know, ever check out ESPN.com. No, he can get those things, but people are going to know he's getting those things. Well, here's the other side of it, too, is that I think that it's a reasonable expectation from everybody that there is going to be, from your work, communication with your wife or communication. And I think that there is something that they would call a reasonable amount of that. I'm saying you can't do that. Sure. They don't have the right. Yeah. I don't think that, I don't think that your private email account, but I think they can look at that too. If you're doing that at work, I think they could probably look, he's saying they can look at everything you're doing.
You're okay with that, with Big Brother? No, I don't like it, but I think it is the company's right. If it's their time, if they're paying you, if it's their equipment, I mean... I think it'll change. It's wild, wild west right now. We're still in the wild west. They haven't figured it out. There hasn't been a big enough lawsuit yet against some big company. Qualcomm hasn't gotten sued by an employee that says... That was a conversation I had, blah, blah, blah. So you're okay with the government listening to your phone calls, but not okay with the company looking into the computer they provide for you? 100%. Me too. 150%. I don't know anybody in the government. I know people that I work with. Well, Sky, I don't feel that I'm okay with the government looking at my emails. I'm not okay with the company looking at my emails. You guys want to join the revolution? No. No. You're hardcore. No, no. Don't want to join it. Don't want to join it. Hey, thank you, Jared. I appreciate the phone call, man. Thank you. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. Facebook him later. This text message says, tell that guy to get an iPhone and check his Facebook there. Oh, that's interesting. Mikey, don't leave a job without another job lined up. That's a good idea, by the way.
I left the job in March and it took me four months and ten interviews. Wow. Before I was able to get something. That's P1 Dawn Patrol. You're smart. Mikey, Facebook guy said his cell rang. Is he using his work phone and time to be on the Mikey show? He's a hardcore slacker. Get off your Fargan phone, man. P1 Maiden fan, what did you want to say? Start his own company. Pay for his own stuff. Plain and simple. Company time. Company time. Company time. Company time. You better not rhyme, bro. Thank you for calling. I appreciate it. Yeah, I'm all right with the government looking at my work emails. I just don't want the company looking at them. If the government is doing it because they want that, I think that the spirit of the government looking at your emails is that they're trying to protect you. What's the spirit of the company? Spirit of the company, I think, is that they're checking productivity, but that's not what will happen, I believe. I believe that what will happen is IT guys like, I wonder what Sky's talking about. He finds you interesting on the air.
He finds you interesting. You just think a local IT guy has access to that? Like I would think. Who does? I would think like high up. That guy driving to work right now, I bet you has access to it. That guy driving to work to install or put it in or whatever. And I bet you our IT guy, please, they'd be able to look at that stuff real easily. Well, but that's illegal. I'm saying that I think that there's precedent for the whole thing being illegal. It just hasn't been sued. Nobody sued anybody. You're assuming that these people are going to do illegal. Right. Right. And that is and that is a totally crazy assumption. Right. No, it's not. But I'm just saying that that's something that's not allowed. So, you know what I mean? Right. Well, but they have to look at it for something. Right. Like they they are looking at it for something like what I'm trying to say is. If the spirit of it is, well, we want to make sure everybody's on the up and up and nobody's looking at anything weird, right? So what they're going to do is they're going to go down. Today, we're going to randomly check Ashley. I don't think it would work that way. I think there'd be like the system would flag certain things. Okay, that makes sense. And then it would go to like a head corporate person whose job is to oversee just this. Oh.
Yeah, it's not like local. So a guy in San Antonio for Clear Channel would see it. And he and that's his like only job. And he only checks things when they're flagged by the system. So what will he do? Well, he'll look into it. And if it's something of concern, then he'd probably file a report to somebody else. And then you would be contacted. OK, so let's say that it is Facebook. Like you're not supposed to be looking at Facebook. But like in our company, it doesn't matter. Yeah. But let's say that you they say that you can't be looking at Facebook. What I want to know is. Do they contact our manager? They contact Shauna? Our program director? Because if they did, our program director would be like, oh my goodness. I'll totally look into that. What is he doing? She's on her Facebook at the time. She's like, oh my goodness. I will totally talk to him about that. Probably contact a local human resources person first. Is that what they would do? Yeah. Text us 35253.

If I'd known a boat's carbon monoxide emissions are over 100 times more lethal than automobiles, he'd definitely still be with us today. Now you know. The Starbucks has announced that because of the bad economy, they're going to be closing 600 stores in the U.S. Two more world records were broken at the U.S. Olympic trials. Aaron Pearsall and Natalie Coughlin broke the records in the 100-meter backstroke. They excel in them. Well, anything more than that, Eddie, I think would be a stretch for me. But I think the 100 meter, I think I'd really be able to get in, dig in. The dog paddle? Yeah, you know, I'd get in there and I'd just get it done. I don't think. I wonder how long it would take for me to backstroke 100 meters. That is a crazy question. That would be a little gnarly. That is a far out question. Well, what about this? Now it's time for the YouTube clip of the day. Yeah.
Little backstory here from the YouTube clip of the day. What this is, basically, is a girl. And she was out with her friends in San Francisco. And she talked to a guy. And his name was Dimitri. They talked for two minutes. And she gave him her card and said, give me a call. And this is the message that he left. Cut 34. Yeah, hi there, all good. It's Dimitri. Sorry I had to leave such a rushed message with you when we... met the other day i just want to quickly give you my phone number and i had to get the heck out of the area in any event i figure i better leave you a more detailed message um and explain why i approached you i am single i have no trouble meeting women i mean women approach me six seven times a day but i'm very particular about what i like you're extremely elegant i couldn't take my eyes off of you and your friends were very jealous even if they say they weren't They were envious of the fact that I approached you, and I was very taken by you. Elegant women are very rare. I'm Greek, and I'm very particular about what I like. So I'm giving you an opportunity here. I don't know if you pick up the messages on the weekend, but I'm working on a movie script, so I'm pretty much around all weekend doing that. I left you my number. You may not get the message until Monday, but when you do, call me, and then we'll get together for coffee and chat and let the romance begin.
Why wouldn't she? I mean, six to seven times a day, chicks approach. All her friends are less. Listen, guys, she's elegant. She's elegant. And it's an opportunity he's giving her. Very big time with the movie scripts and all. He can find time. But that was said, like, you know, just as a... It wasn't even supposed to be a part of it. It was like, there's a throwaway line. Oh, did I say it? I didn't even realize I mentioned that. Did I? Oh, well, yeah, I do. Oh, what a clown. Right? Let me tell you. Ladies, you guys. Well, no, not ladies. You fellas. You fellas. Talk to them, Mike. Tell them. Guys, you know, imagine this is the, tactic that you take. Imagine you're you, but completely different. And then, you know, do it that way. And go with it. Go with that. If you're that guy, you don't get it. You're listening right now and going, he's not talking about me. Would it be okay with me if I share my thoughts honestly about what I think he did wrong? Let me critique him.
And I'm going to be serious. If Dimitri were my friend. You're like doing a public service right now. I'll do a public service for all guys. Guys, the problem that Dimitri made was one big major problem. Dimitri didn't tell the truth. That's what women want. They want a guy that's really genuine. And when he says that I'm approached six, seven times a day, a big smile comes on any girl's face because she knows that's a lie. Brad Pitt is not approached. Six, seven times a day. place yeah he's she knows immediately that he's not approached one time a day so he's immediately filed under liar let the romance begin okay okay and so that's i think where you start get off your fargan phone man What do you think? Like, what would you tell your friend Demetri? Well, I think his first mistake was that he made the phone call. Thank you. This is true. I agree. Because that guy clearly has never even kissed a girl. Right. That's probably true. That's probably true. I mean, we don't know, but... That was brutal. Oh, my God. Yeah, you got to tell... Listen, fellas, be honest. Tell the girl the truth. If you want to compliment...
You can compliment. Just make sure that it's an honest compliment. Like this. Maybe it would sound like this. Hey, I thought you were really pretty. That's true. And it's not weird. You thought she was really pretty. Ashley. May I give another piece of advice to Dimitri? Yes. Sweet man. When you are hitting on a girl, whether it be voicemail or in person, don't spend the entire time boasting yourself up. As opposed to complimenting her. Like, every time he complimented her, he followed that with a compliment on himself. Like, you're a very elegant lady. And you know what? All your elegant friends were very jealous because I approached you, not them. Right. Like, don't. This is not your time to shine. It's your time to have her shine. Yes. I mean, women approach me six, seven times a day. Wow. Get over yourself. Dimitri. Get over yourself. It's about me right now. Okay, now wait a minute. That's really impressive. Let's break this down. Yes. Let's say, let's figure out when Dimitri is actually in a position where women see him. I would say 9 a.m. Before that, you're at home, right? Yeah. Okay, so 9 a.m. What time is your day? What time are you in your house? Like maybe 7, 8 at the latest. Okay. On an average weekday. So Dimitri is saying that at least once an hour, a woman approaches him in his day.
Awesome observation. Well, women, I would say I approach women. Women approach me every day. That doesn't mean they're interested. Romantically, Eddie, you know that girls are coming to you every hour. I've seen it where they go, Eddie, what they do. I'm with a girl like all the time. They go like this. Well, we work. I mean, we work here. I'm just saying. I'm not saying you're romantically into me, but you're approaching me. But do you think Dimitri means like, hi, Dimitri, I just. I'd really like to get to know you more. You're stunning. That's exactly what he meant. That's what he meant. I don't know about that, though. I don't think that's going on. Well, Mike, maybe, you don't know, maybe he hangs out in a bar all day. It could be. And that's his thing. It could be. It could be. Mike. I mean, women approach me six, seven times a day. That's a lot, Demetri. That's a lot, Demetri. That's a lot. That's an awful lot. Let the romance begin. Okay. Let the romance begin. Yeah, sexy. Let the romance begin. Maybe I missed it because I was answering some phones, but did anybody mention that he said he had to get out of town? Is that what he said? He said he had to get out of there real quick. Didn't he say at some point, though, I had to get out of town for the weekend? You don't tell a girl that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And say, I'll be going away this weekend. That's right. I don't tell a girl any of that. No. Thank you. No, no, no. And, fellas, I will also say that I believe that your call to the lady and your message should not exceed 15 seconds. Yeah. I do not believe that it needs... Yeah, that's a good rule. I don't think that it needs to exceed 15 seconds. And may I add... I had to get the heck out of the area. Yeah. I had to get the heck out of the area. And it was like, emphasis on... You said a bomb? Yeah. What did you do? I had to get the heck out of the area. That is awesome. Use that line, fellas. Why did you have to, Dimitri? May I also add that even though confidence is great, when you're asking a girl out, don't put it in the words, I'd like to give you the opportunity to hang out with me this weekend. Yeah. That's not going to fly. Here's what I think about it. I say, this would be my deal. I would say, just don't, you'll be fine on that first phone conversation as long as you don't have a lack of confidence. If you don't have a lack of confidence and you're being nice and you're doing it, you're good to go. Yeah, there's a difference between confidence and ego. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So here's the deal. How would it sound like this? 15 seconds. Time this. It'd probably be less than that. I'm leaving a message for Sky.
Oh, yeah. CPR time. CPR. Hang on a second. Maybe you should leave it for Ashley. Last time that reference will be made. Now, this is provided Skye's giving me her number. Okay? Skye's giving me her number. It would sound like this. Hey, Skye, what's up? This is Mike, the guy that you met earlier today. And I thought that you were really pretty. And I'm glad that you gave me your phone number. And I'd love to talk to you. So my number is 858-888. 8-8-8-8. It's a fake number. 8-8-8. Mead. What if I did that? 15 seconds. There you go. That was great. It's simple. Keep it short but sweet. I'm giving you an opportunity here. Whoa, thank you. Let me take you out. If she doesn't call back, she's missed out on an opportunity. Clearly. That's what is being said.
Kobe Bryant was on Regis and Kelly. Oh, good. Is it crazy about Hannah Montana? Of course. How about you? How do you feel about it? Have you taken your daughters to see Hannah Montana? Of course I have. Are you serious? Of course I have. So clearly you must be the tallest person there. See, you know, I go. I can't stand up because then the kids behind me go nuts. Of course. So, you know, I sit down and my daughter looks at me and makes sure I'm paying attention and I'm singing every word to the song. Of course. Wait a second. Hang on a minute. That is Shaq. Shaq, that was kind of a weird thing to say, Kobe. You've already lost your sheriff's license because you said things like that. Why would you be trying to... Because Kobe's a gay boy. Oh, wait a minute. There's no reason to be doing that. That's pretty messed up, Shaquille O'Neal. Plus, why would you be like that? You've got everything going for you. You don't have any reason to be attacking Kobe. You're doing great.
married? What are you saying? The guy's got a wife. He's talking about taking his kid. No? Well, that is a strange way to put it. No, you would not. No, you would not. Really, what would he say? Oh, okay. So Kobe Bryant, who was wearing the same shorts as you, would walk up to you wearing your Lakers shirt, and he's wearing the same pair, and he would say, I like your shorts. That doesn't make much sense. He said, I want to. He said that, Shaq. No, he didn't, Shaq. No, he didn't. That's hard to believe. You need to not lie. It's true. It's not true. Why don't you try not lying? Ask Rick Fox. So now you're saying that in front of a fellow player, he said that to you. That he wanted to open your shorts like a present. And then he said.
Well, that does sound like Kobe. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Let the romance begin. Wow. Shocking. Sean has Dimitri calling back. No. Shut up. He didn't hear from her. Is that the deal? You didn't hear from her, Sean? Oh, wait. Let me... Hold on one second. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Preview. Preview it. Preview it. Hey, guys. It's Dr. Wayne calling in. Oh, boy. Why are you calling? Well, I'm a chiropractor in the area. I just want to let people know that. And I also do Swedish and deep tissue massage on the side. We know. You've told us many times. I have a home practice. Home? That's right. I work out of my home. Ew. Anyway, I was calling because you guys were talking about this whole concept of not calling people back or leaving weird messages. Yeah. Yeah. Well, what about, you know, when somebody gives you their number and it turns out to be the wrong number? Seth. Whoa. What's up, Seth?
What about when you think you're somebody's friend? And then you go home to your wife and you say to your wife, hey, honey, you know, I'm trying to help a guy out here. And he says he gives me his number and I'm going to help him with his radiator. And then I call the number and it's a number to some pet store. Zep, did you do that? Yeah. What? That's not very nice, Seth. All I'm trying to do is help you out over here. Yeah, he's your friend. Plus, I noticed that, you know, it looks like your subluxation in your back is a little bit off. That's not real. I was going to help get that aligned and, you know, you want to be a jerk about it or whatever. Seth? Yeah, I do want to be a jerk. No. I know you don't mean that, Cookie. Let me tell you something. Okay. You see? You see? Yeah, he doesn't like being called cookie. Hang on just a second. My wife is trying to give me a massage. She's apparently in the mood. I heard that 100-day thing you guys were talking about. And me and the wife decided that we're going to go for 400 days. We're going to do the 400-day challenge. So it's going to be about a year and a month, I guess it would be right. That'll be a year and, I guess, three months and two.
I mean, it takes a minute. Mikey had a problem with this yesterday. Anyway, I forget what it is, but yeah, we'll go for $400 and let you know how that worked out. It should be pretty good. Talk to you guys later. Hey, talk to some of you guys later. Talk to some of you guys later and maybe find out the price of kibbles and bits later. It was a pet store. He's angry. Hello! Don't give me raspberry. Raspberry'd all over the phone. She's the strangest thing. Shawnee, you got that clip? Yes. Here is Dimitri. Now, is there any content issues here? I got about a minute and a half. Let me preview. I'll tell you what we'll do. I think it's all right. We'll do it. We're going to do it. We'll preview it. We'll preview it. We're going to break. Well, let's go ahead. But I want to hear it. But you should. Now we'll see what this thing is all about. I'll be right back to Mikey's show. That is a big drink. I mean, what is it like? 64 ounces, honey. You wish you had 64 ounces. Right. That's right. 64 cold, refreshing ounces of Dr. Pepper Sprite horchata goodness.
Whatever you may call it. Do you really need that much soda? Well, honey, do you need all your shoes? Those flip-flops and high heels and clog things? Excuse me, we're not talking about shoes, are we? I thought we were talking about soda. Too much soda. That would be like having way too many private jets or too much money. Oh, look at me, everyone. I have way too many yachts. Maybe I should have less yachts. In your dreams. Too much soda. Come on. More is more. Check out AMPM's all-new Double Cheeseburger. It's bigger. It's juicier. It's only $1.59 a.m. p.m. Too much good stuff. At participating stores for a limited time, while supplies last, prices may vary. There's a phenomenon going on in San Diego County right now. Mike brought it up to me and I experienced the exact same thing. When you go into your grocery store and you are going back to get your fresh meat and you're going back to get some Johnsonville brats, they're not there. They're being sold out everywhere you go. It's crazy. Well, my plan is I'm going today to get them. You have to. If you want Johnsonville Brats for this weekend, which is, you know, Fourth of July is really one of the biggest grilling weekends there is, then you should go today. I'm not messing around to get these Johnsonville Brats. And I'm not doing just some crazy pitch or whatever. It's the real deal. I went into Vons the other day because I wanted to get some. Went back to the fresh meat section. Went to get some Johnsonville Brats. Gone. All of them.
Really? I'm like, how is that possible? Yeah. It's crazy. And my favorite is the original. Yeah, me too. And I think those are probably the most popular because those are always, I got to get, you got to get them early. Yeah. So yeah, if you want to grill this weekend and you want Johnsonville brats, make sure you go get them early because you don't want to roll in, get ready for your big barbecue and have them be sold out. So pick up your Johnsonville brats today. Let me turn that down. I'm interrupting the Mossy Nissan jingle because I want to invite you to declare your independence from high gas prices. Where? By the way, I want to give you the AIS website. It's AISinsurance.com. You have heard us talk about Terry. The boss is upstairs. He has finally gotten with the program. He has switched to AIS. Terry.
Hey, Mike. Good morning. You've made the switch, right? Two and a half years, finally. Two and a half years you've been hearing me say this. You finally did it. I'm so stupid, man. Tell me about what happened. We go to a different client. We meet with them. We do our conference calls. We do all of this, and I have Progressive, mostly because I had an accident for Progressive, so I felt kind of bad, so I stuck with him for a while. Right. But I finally changed. I was going to do the website, that AISinsurance.com, but with my hands free, I just did it in my car on my way home, and $90 a month I saved. Let me, $90 a month. That would have paid for my plasma. $90 a month. Would have paid for my plasma. So as gas prices are up, I did this, and it totally makes up for it.
That is $1,080 a year that you're saving by switching to AIS. And now I can look the client in the eye because, you know, before I was sort of like, well, I haven't changed yet. I'll get to it. I'll get to it. And I just never did. And I finally did. And it was easy. This guy, Kirk, helped me. And did all over the phone. I faxed him my prior policy and made sure all of the limits were the same on everything. That's awesome. Make sure it was apples to apples, so it kept it all clean. Very nice. I'm digging it, man. Rob is very disappointed, but A-Rod has opted out of the Home Run Derby. Oh, Rob. I'm so sorry to hear that, man. I'm so sorry. Sorry, Rob. Looking forward to that. Maybe next year. So, before we went to break, we pledged Dimitri, who got the phone number for a girl named Olga. He met her on the street in San Francisco. She gave him her phone number.
But the first impression that he made, leaving her a voicemail, was not the best impression. Now, I think there's something to this. I think that there's something to learn. As you listen to it, it may be a pretty good lesson to you fellas that are trying to get yourselves a lady. This may not be the best way to go. Ladies don't necessarily like to hear certain things. So he leaves her the message, right? And I'll have Sean pause throughout the message that he left for the second message. Basically, he left the first message and it was telling her how he's approached by women six to seven times a day. He's giving her the opportunity to go out with him. And he also let her know that her friends, he could tell, were very jealous that he was talking to her. I mean, women approach me six, seven times a day. Now, what happened was he never heard back from her. No, he didn't. She must not have got the message or something happened. Yeah. Because, hello. Either that or who knows. Maybe it was something else. But I will tell you this. Opportunity doesn't like knocking a second time. Oh. Shouldn't have to. Oh, gosh. Shouldn't have to. Not if you get approached six, seven times a day. No. Go ahead, Sean. Hi there, old guy. It's Dimitri calling again, the guy from the street. I left you a message several days ago.
He said you were interested. Now, here's the way I work. I don't like leaving second messages, but I like you. You're a very elegant woman. You're very attractive, but... Pause. Question. And this is, again, guys, please pay attention. The number one thing that you gotta be is honest with the ladies. Otherwise, you know, they... And I don't know that it's an honest statement necessarily to say, I don't like leaving. Second messages if, in fact, you know, you don't usually get the opportunity to leave messages. Interesting point. Numero uno. Okay, so you've got to be honest. The second thing is, is that you're giving away the dishonesty from the first one when you say, I don't like making second phone calls because wouldn't any gal say to herself, well, now why would a guy that gets approached six, seven times a day be this, you know, desperate? It does. Unpause. You know, I don't play that game. I know your friends tell you not to return calls. You're playing games like you see on stupid TV shows. So here's how it's going to work. Pause. Guys, to Dimitri's defense, this is their first fight.
It's their first fight. It's kind of cute. They only met for like five minutes, Mike. I mean, they've never even really spoke. And that's the thing. Like, you know, you always remember the first fight you have. You know, it's like, just break through that period. Well, here's how it's going to work. Here's how it's going to work. All right. Unpause. It is now 4.30 on Wednesday. Now, assume, I'll assume that you've already left. Okay, that's the other thing. Never say assume. Don't. Assume. That's creepier than the fight. Unpause. Assume. Stop it. I'll assume that you've already left work. Because, you know, some people leave early. And I'll grant you that. Pause. Thank you. Oh, you are so kind. Before you've had the opportunity to speak with her, don't grant her anything. This is crazy. He's in charge, Mike. All right. He's the one. Let's see, Eddie, this goes back to what Sky was saying. You know, you don't want it. You don't want it. Like confidence is one thing, but this is going a little far. I don't want a lady who can't handle this. I don't want any of that. Now, this is serious. I bet she was terrified at this point. Oh, absolutely. Because she's like, he's got my phone number. He's honestly crazy. About me. Unpause. I'll grant you that.
But if I do not receive a phone call back from you by 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, I'm no longer interested. Pause. Oh. Yeah. You promise? Like a ransom demand. Can I hold you to that? You know, like if I don't get the money by 3 o'clock on Thursday, she's going to die. So you're... get approached by six, seven times a day, but you're giving her another 24 hours to call you. Well, she's very elegant, Eddie. You don't understand the elegance. What is being held ransom is him, but if you pay the ransom, you get maybe you get me. Now, he said 3 o'clock. If she calls at 3.30, is she out of luck? You better believe it. Sorry, what time did I say? No.
This train is left, lady. She's like, but I was in a meeting. Sorry, guess what? Left the depot. Maybe you wait another 76 years like Haley's Comet. My dog ate the number, and so I had to piece back the paper. Oh, wow. It's 320. You're interested, and you can erase my number. I don't play games like that. He's not kidding. Erase it. It's 3.30. Erase my number. You might as well because guess what? I'm not calling back. Who does this work with? It doesn't. It doesn't. No, no, no. I disagree. He's never done it before. I disagree. I think there's a crazy person for everybody. There is, I believe. So it's worked before. Oh, I don't know about that. I don't know that it's necessarily worked before, but I do think that there's a gal that like has a psychology where that weirdness. There is. She's, you know, like it goes. And here's how it would work. Let me tell you what it would say. Oh, my goodness. A giant hot dog just walked into the studio. A giant hot dog. With tattoos. With tattoos. That look like Zeth's tattoos. And he's slouching. It's like a mascot. It's a mascot. It's a mascot of a tattoo. And he's got the same tattoos that Zeth had. That is quite a coincidence. Whoa. Look at this. It's the Padre Girls.
It's the Padres. Look at this. Yes, please. A hot dog. What the heck is going on? What is going on? Let's have the ladies sit down. It's a Padre girls. And a big giant hot dog mascot and the whole thing. We'll get back to Dimitri in a second. You ladies have a seat. Can he stop looking at me like that? Who has the camera? Look at this. Yeah, where's the camera? Let me get the camera. Wait, wait, wait. Mike, please. This needs to be documented. I want to come in there and get a picture with him. Yeah, go ahead. Who wants a picture with the hot dog? I'm going to do crazy things with that. Look at that. So fantastic. How exciting is this? Oh, that is great. Rob, do something with him. Wait, wait, wait, Rob. Let me zoom in. We'll put these on the website immediately. Thank you. Take a bite. We'll put this on the website immediately. If Zeth ever comes back to the studio. Yeah, I wonder where Zeth is. We don't know where he is. Where did he go? Where did he go? That is the worst. I just can't figure it out. Eddie, what is going on? Well, here's the deal. The Padres have great promotions going on, and they have Dollar Days. Is that what we're calling it? July Dollar Days. July Dollar Days, where they got dollar hot dogs. Wow. And Jen from the Padres.
told me she wanted to bring us some hot dogs. I almost told her that she was going to have to wear a hot dog outfit to come in. I thought that that would happen. I was cool. I was going to be cool about it, and I didn't, and it still happened, so I'm very happy. That's awesome. So, dollar hot dogs? Dollar hot dogs and dollar for regular sodas. For real? Wow. That's a great deal. Let me tell you something. And then a dollar off of beer. Oh, wow. All of July. That's a lot. It's fantastic. You know, you guys are eating for a very inexpensive. When you think about how much gas costs right now. Talk about it. A dollar for a hot dog. A dollar for a hot dog. And those are not little hot dogs. I mean, these are solid. They're nice. And these aren't the little tiny drinks either. How about that? Now, is this for every game or just particular games? All games in July. Come on. Oh, yeah. That's awesome. We can't offer this on the road. That would be cool, though. It would be really nice. You just show a Padres card and they give it to you on the road. I like that. It would be great. That's cool. Well, it's now July 2nd, so we're in full effect.
And when is the home game? Tonight? Is there a home game tonight? They come back next Monday. Got it. July 7th. Who are they playing when they come back? They play the Marlins. Yeah. And then we have three games against the Braves over the next weekend. And we got some great promotions going on that weekend. We actually brought in the beach towel that we're giving away on that Friday night. Look at that. I want that. Can I have one? I want you to feel this, Eddie. Can I have one? Nice. You'll be getting one next week. I will? That's gorgeous. That's gorgeous. Look at that. Oh, wow. That's not like you'd expect it to kind of be stiff. Where you use it one time and it's going to fall asleep or fall asleep. No, this is great. And then we have the 98 celebration. Yeah, that's Saturday the 12th. We got a lot of the old time. Right into that microphone. We got Steve Finley coming back. We got Greg Vaughn's about 90% confirmed coming back. Resurrecting Ken Caminiti. There you go. Eddie. Did I say that? Jen just looked at Eddie like, are you kidding me right now? He has hot dogs away. He doesn't deserve them. He gives me two hot dogs, you guys. I'm sorry. He doesn't deserve them. I make jokes on the ha-has. I'm sorry. There are two women looking at you right now like you are. Every time they come in. I don't know why I didn't talk. I appreciate it. I know it. Well, listen, I am excited. I think it's going to be fantastic.
I'll be there. And yeah, yeah, yeah. It sounds really good. And the hot dogs are good. Did you try it? Did you try it? I've had one, but I'll try it right now if you want me to. But my mouth is going to be full. I need to wash my hands first. I talk on the radio. There it is. There it is. It's great radio. I hate mustard. I hate mustard. But I love it. Yes, yes. It's the worst. It's delicious. I really caused this cancer. It doesn't. Yeah, it's still in the testing phases. It is so good. You are the worst person ever. You get it. You get it. I totally get it. Awesome. Eddie, how does somebody not like mustard? They're nuts. How do they even pop? I can eat it straight. It makes me sick. Look at this, Skye. No, I will not look at that. Skye, what do you put on your hot dog? Just ketchup. Oh, gross. Shut up. What, do you have an otter pop with that? Come on. An otter pop? What are you talking about? It's not like a kid in the neighborhood with ketchup all over his face. Okay. You know what I mean? Totally. You know what I'm saying? You're the kid with mustard all over their face. Yuck. All right, here's our phone number if you want to call and hang out. 570-1053. Our text number is 35253.
I always feel weird because, you know, we have you guys come in, and you tell us cool stuff, and then I'm all, okay, guys, thanks for coming. And, like, it's this feeling like I'm done with you. I don't want to do that anymore. I want you guys to hang out and have a hot dog, and we're going to do our show, and you get to hang out, all right? That's great. So you guys stay. Eddie. What? He just rolls his eyes like, great. They're staying. If you give him an inch, he'll take it. Hey, you guys, do you still have other stations that you have to do or can you hang? Okay, cool. It's fun. Look at Eddie. You did? That was nice. What did he text back to you? He didn't text you back. That means he got it. He saw it and he did not text back. Unbelievable, right? Wonderful. You'll do what I say. Okay, you are trippy. See, this goes, the thing we were talking about, confidence versus ego. Does that go over the line, Sky? Does that go over the line? Yes, it does. Eddie and Dimitri are very similar in that way. Wonderful hot dog. I see. It's a great hot dog. Say what? Eddie should put on the hot dog costume. Get out of here with that. So no fireworks in Chula Vista. They canceled them. Yeah, bad economy, Mike.
They said we can... What, do they run them off gas? Well, it costs about $75,000 to do their fireworks bonanza, their annual thing that they do in Chula Vista. How much is it? $75,000. What is that? Like the actual... They said the show would have cost the city about $75,000. So they had a choice. How much is a firework? I don't know. More policemen on the street or fireworks? This guy's against it. She thinks it causes fires. Well, when people play with them and they don't know what they're doing, yeah. What if you know what you're doing? Well, if you're a trained professional. You can have a Roman candle fight. I was a professional at one point. A Roman candle fight. Yes. If you practice enough, you're a professional. We're shooting fireballs at each other near an open field. That sounds smooth. We have to have a couple of drinks first, but that's ridiculous. Yeah, so some people are really bummed, but there are other firework shows around town you can attend. I don't care about them. I don't watch them. But I can't understand you. Why? Well said. I'm going to watch them. You are? Yeah, I heard that my neighbor said that you can see them from our street. The ones that they do at Grape Day Park in Escondido. Grape Day Park? Yes, that's the name of the park. I didn't know. The parents are coming over. Skinner's coming over. Don't go to the O.C. The O.C. Escondido, you clown. This one's going out to all the ladies of the world. Thank you.
We got to take a quick time out, but when we come back, let's have some fun. I apologize for my Cam and Eddie line. It was clearly out of line. It was out of line. It was my favorite player, and I just miss him. How are you going to be mad at him now? Look at what you did. The girls are all deflated. When we come back, I just want to take phone calls and have fun. Godspeed, Cammy. Eddie, let it go. Thank you. I think you've said enough on the topic. Thank you very much. The Mikey Show. I'm stranded on an island with these particular coordinates and blah, blah, blah. If we're being honest with each other, and I think we are, those kinds of messages never help anyone. This world could use a bottle with a different kind of message in it. A message that says, I am delicious and good and I am worth drinking. Did we mention that this message is liquid? The message we're talking about is inside every bottle of Heineken Premium Light. It's a joyful message of hops, yeast, and sharing. Looking good right now in our freeways. No major problems. Just smooth rides, man, throughout the county. So, yeah, have a good time to get where you're going. Just a minor delay in North 805 at Governor Drive and a few break nights South 163 through the park in the downtown. And that's about it. Everything else is moving right along. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Let me tell you, into Sleep Train, and he's going to get all dialed in. Yeah, I cannot wait, man. I have had the same mattress for easily 15 years.
Are you serious? Yeah, 15 years. And so, you know, it's still in great shape. Shockingly, that thing is still in great shape. No. But it's time. It's time for a change. The wife, I have a very firm mattress and she hates it. Yeah. She's ready for a more softer one. Yeah. And I kind of am too. Like I've had back problems, you know, for a long time. So I'm definitely ready for a change too. So it's going to be really cool. Sky, firm mattress for you or soft mattress? Medium. Yes. Right in the middle. Yeah. Eddie likes a firm mattress. Well, you are going to be so happy when you get on that thing. Well, what's cool is that for people like us who have the different styles, they have what's called a sleep number mattress where you actually get to dial up the firmness on your side. That's cool. So it's really cool. Hey, if you've bought a mattress from Sleep Train and you really love the experience, please call us, will you, at 570-1053. But Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. The Mikey Show. It's another Mikey moment. Why do you hate Guitar Hero? Because it's stupid. You know what? I'm starting to teach myself how to play the piano. But you don't even play guitar. Why do you care if I'm doing it by myself? Yeah, why? I would understand that you played guitar, but you don't. My brother does. Yeah, but you don't. My brother does. So you're offended on his behalf? My cousin does. I'm sweating here. I'm just saying all these kids are lazy with their Guitar Heroes. I'm so stupid. Thank you.
Maybe we should move to the next one. Yeah, let's go to the next one. Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball for Xbox. Finally. Yes. Dodgeball with Pirates. Pro 5-3. We should do hamburgers and hot dogs because we're eating hot dogs. That's a good point. We should play that for Jack. Tell everybody what he just said off the air. He said he almost didn't say the initial comment because he knew it was inappropriate, but he went for it anyway. This comment is 10 times worse. And he just said it. He said it out loud. How is it worse? Moments after. What did I do that is wrong? No. You know. I, Ken Kennedy is my favorite player of all time. And this is him singing. This is him singing right now, you're singing. I don't know. I, uh-huh. You're the worst person ever. I disagree with that. I disagree with that. Who thinks that is worse? I take umbers with that. Yeah, I can relate to that. Welcome back. It's a Mikey show. It's 841. Glad to be there.
At least 81 people were given tickets yesterday for breaking the new hands-free cell phone law. Hams-free? They said that you're tickets. That is so not cool, man. Hey. Hams off my hands. That's fine. I can eat it with the hands behind my back. What? Ridiculous, Daddy. What's this? A ham-eating contest? Get in there, done that. Rhode Island Fair, world champion. Rhode Island. Of all places. Can't hold my own ham? Come on, Bunny Boo. Give me a ham. Shut up, shirt. I don't want to hear it. Seriously. He is rocking it. There's a Hawaiian party. There's a Hawaiian party on his chest. There's a luau. Holy cow, Kalua. There's a party here, but there's also a party. No, there's not. Gosh, Sean, you're so inappropriate. I'm making dead people jokes. Who did that? You did that.
That sounds hysterical. You're a jerk. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. What happened? We should probably just sign off right now. Really? Do some testimony. It's not Friday. Seriously. Tomorrow, by the way, is our Friday because we got 4th of July. And I gotta let people know we are taking a little time. We are taking a little time because I'm having surgery. Oh, no. Don't say that. Eddie's going to Maui. Yeah, I am. Jerk. I'll see Sean in his shirt there. That's right. And what's underneath? All right. So, anyway. 843. Write it down. Why is he getting in trouble for that? What did he really say? You know what he meant. I don't. You know what he's implying. You know what he's implying. What? You want me to say it? No.
You don't want to see an obese rug? Okay. Look at him in the camera. He's all mischievous and evil. You definitely need to write that down. I actually agree. I hate when he holds his hands like that. I hate it when he holds his hands. Because it makes it so much dirtier when he does his hands like that. Sean, you really need to grow up. That is correct. He's got to screw us. Both of you today. I'm in shock. Both of you today. Whoa. Easy mom. I agree with you. Both of you. Grounded. I agree with mom. All right. So next week, we're off Thursday, Friday. Okay? Yes, we are. I guess I'm having surgery next Thursday. And then the following week is a vacation week for us. Best of. We will have best of on that whole time. And then the following week, we're back, but I'm doing the show from home.
And I'll do the show from home for a week. Oh. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it'll be great. It'll be fun. It'll be great. But we got to let P1s know because P1s freak out. They freak out. It happened to me last night, Mike, when I was at the dog park. What happened? I had a P1 who was like, so how's the show going? And I was like, oh, real good, dude. You know, about to go on vacation. He's like, what? When? Yeah. Immediately starts freaking out. I go, no, dude, calm down. We're going to put together real good best of shows, like stuff that you haven't heard that you're going to want to hear. What he was upset about was that he didn't, like, why haven't you told us? Yeah, like he immediately shut down. He didn't want to hear my excuse. I can't tell you the last time we took a vacation. I know, I know, I know. Christmas, I would want to say. It might be. A P1, by the way, is a Mikey show listener. So if you ever hear the term P1. just know that that means a Mikey show listener. They listen to the Mikey show exclusively. When they call in, they turn the radio down, get to the point and don't cuss. We love our P ones. And that's what we got to let you know that we're going to be gone. Cause it would be like a friend just leaving town one day. Right. And you're like, what dude? Hey, thanks for telling me. Yeah. Something happened. And that is literally what happens. Yeah. I get emails. Are you guys okay? Is everybody all right? So we want to let everybody know that that's going to be the deal.
We're fine. Mike's getting his guts cut open, but besides that, everybody is fine. Everybody is fine. I'm just saying, besides that, everyone is great. So, hey, check this out. Leave that. We can, if you'd like, do some of this. The time Ashley sings along with that, Eddie gives her a look like, why are you doing that? Who's Eddie? I don't even know who you're talking. It doesn't stop her. She's dancing right now at this moment. She's dancing, but refusing to look at Eddie because she knows that it will turn her into salt. Ash, why no eye contact with Eddie yet? Well, I just should, but I had to give it a minute. Ashley, you're so inappropriate. That is so correct.
Turns me to stone. That's right. So I have to just wait for a sec. Sean TV, what is it? It is... The best. Our sound effects guy, Sean, is a very unusual person. He's a germaphobe. Whoa. He's really, really tall. He has a super deep voice. Yeah, it's like a foghorn, Mike. Oh. You can hear it. Oh. I'm sorry. Last night somebody said to me about Sean. They said, I love how Sean is so insensitive and sensitive. Thank you. Someone needed to say it. Don't know what they're talking about. How dare you? He is easily one of the most insensitive voices on the show. Yet,
Like, I mean, you got to be careful. You can't even say his name sometimes. Dude, seriously. You say Sean. You go, Sean, and he's like, okay, okay. That's not true. Oh, really? No, it's not true. You guys know what you do. You know what you do? Yeah. Thank you. So here's the deal. Because he's such a strange individual, he watches everything on TV. Everything on TV. And so we do this segment called Sean TV. And it's always stuff that we've never heard of. And he plays clips. And it's interesting. It's just interesting. Now, he's probably done a dozen of them. One time, there was a show that we liked. Yeah. Best show ever though, isn't it? One time. It was called Tim and Eric's Awesome Show. Great job. Other than that. It's like banana check half the time. Well, first of all, it's not banana check. It's ban-a-check. Which was a show that was on in the 1950s. No, that's not true either. It was on in the 70s. It was the early 70s. And it was on for two seasons. And it was a really great show. George Hamilton. No, not George Hamilton. He was on Columbo twice. He was from the probably member and from the A-team. When Sean came over, you guys, when Sean came to Sticker Strike and he was staying with us, he busted out his iPod.
And he has episode after episode after episode of Banachek. He showed me, like, this football episode of Banachek on his iPod. That had Robert Culp in it. He was excellent. Excellent. He had episodes of Ironside. He had, dude, Star Trek. All that, like, I was like, dude. Lots of Columbo. The iPod is great for that stuff. Sean, is Columbo your favorite? I'm sorry. What is your favorite? Star Trek is his favorite. Stupid question. No, no, no. That was a sigh of GGG. Let me think. What's your favorite show ever? Wow. Star Trek. How could he not? Save that clip. Wow. Save that. It'd either be Banana Check, Star Trek. Call it Banana Check, dude. Columbo. Yeah, come on, guys. Be real. Wow. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. Yeah, Trek. Original series. What season? There's only two seasons. No, there are three. Two. Sean moved to tears by an episode of Star Trek. That is weird. That's a fact. Whatever, dude. Whatever. Wept openly. Wept.
What do I share? I'm not saying anything bad about it. I have a question. This is a serious question. Did you weep with noise or weep silently? Was it tears coming down the face, no sound, or weeping with... Because they're different. That's a legitimate question. They're absolutely different. You really expect me to answer that? I don't see. Well, what's the difference? I feel all the crap you guys give me about it? No, no, no. Well, wait a minute. Sean, if you say that you cried without making any noise, it's not like you're going to get less. Does a sniffle count as noise? Oh, you ass. Is that what happened? That's Ashley. So tears coming down the face. And then just a sniffle. Well, what do you do when that happens? You know, you have to take a breath, right? Sean, it's okay to cry. You should be proud of it. I am. Seth is. Jump on our bandwagon. Do you guys believe that he had a tear and that all he did is go...
Well, Mike, it depends on the episode. If it was that mischievous muffles episode. You are the biggest jerk in the world. It's not mischievous muffles. It's the trouble with tribbles and you know it. Mischievous muffles. I did it. I did it. So stupid. So what is your show today you're going to introduce us to, Sean? Mike, this one's a little bit different. I actually have several sort of short, shorter clips, but But I wanted to make sure that all the P1s were aware of a show that a lot of us know and love. And that is Iron Chef America on the Food Network. I'm aware of it. I'm aware of it. It's a really great show. It comes from a takeoff on a Japanese show called Iron Chef, where they have chefs of different culinary styles. And they invite a guest chef to come into what they call a kitchen stadium. Why do I feel like Sean is introducing us to something called McDonald's? And this thing's called a Big Mac. Now, maybe you've heard of it. Maybe you haven't. These are French.
French fries. Some people have not heard of it, so it's a dual kitchen setup, and they basically battle it out for one hour, and they have a secret ingredient. The world does. No, go ahead. A secret ingredient is introduced unknown to bullshit. Haven't we done this on our show? There was a show called Friends, and they were all friends. Who was on it? Well, they were all friends in the show. Where was it based? In New York. Really? It was a concept. That they were all friends. Gotcha. It's really cool. Some people haven't heard of that. Who are these people? So go ahead, Sean. How does this Iron Chef... No! Why? Why did you react like that? What were you getting upset about? I'm not upset. I'm waiting for you to finish. No, I... We are finished. We're finished. We're finished. The floor is yours. Let's find out what the secret ingredient is. Okay. But there is one more ingredient to this battle. Our secret ingredient. The theme on which our chefs will offer their succulent variations. Today's secret ingredient is... I'm your genius. Skye. I knew it. Skye's right. You can see it on her face. Like, about five seconds before it was revealed. Oh, no! And you heard the music building...
Sky got this look on her face like, no, it, no, no, no. Think about the secret ingredient. I'd like to go up to the judges who I see are watching with a great deal of attention here. Let's talk about him. I'm a big fan of him, especially the kosher variety. Wow. No. Wow. I don't think that's possible. That's not possible. You mean there's pork in the ham? Yes, there's actually pork in the ham. Let's go next door to Kareem. How do you feel about the secret ingredient today? For me, ham is a very great ingredient. Enjoying watching what the chefs are doing. Ted Allen, you and I have spoken together of many meat products, but I don't remember us ever speaking of ham. It's great as a main ingredient. It's great as flavoring. I see all sorts of things being combined with it down there that I really like. Wait, wait. Hang on. I'm overdosing on enjoyment. This is too much for me. I can't take this much. I'm overdosing on how awesome and incredible this is right now. I can't take it. We could have learned about a cool new show. But no, he's going to take this time to make one long ham joke. Shut your mouth.
I want to make sure that all the people are aware of a show that we all know it loves. I'm sorry, this guy. That's ridiculous. This is like having an IVN. But Sean, do you have any more clips? Oh, I'm glad you asked. Hey, by the way, do you think that that first clip that we heard will be used in any way on the show? No. Seth counted. Eight new drops. Eight new drops. Eight. Sky is so good. Sky is not good. Wow. So during the competition, Mike, the chefs are creating new and different dishes using the secret ingredient, which is ham. Alton Brown goes over just a couple of them. 15 minutes to get away here in Kitchen Stadium. Ham and Iron Chef Cap Coruscant. Ham dumplings have come together. Ham rounds have been grilled. And a pineapple ham salt has been made. Oh, my God. Oh, my goodness. Ham. Ham. Ham. Ham. Ham. This guy has saliva spilling over the side of his mouth. Somebody get her a bib. Jeez. This is Alex. You can make salsa from ham. Oh, my goodness. What is this? A ham dumpling? Oh, my word.
How do you get to be a judge on that thing? Clouds made from house. I'll remember this one, Sean. For those of you that don't know, our news girl, Skye. Oh, dude. Oh, she does? She loves. So then the show is kind of perfect for her, Sean. Oh, yeah. This would have been a good episode for her to watch. Well, that's why I'm bringing it to everyone's attention. Yesterday, former Charger Lorenzo Neal testified in Steve Foley's lawsuit against the city of Coronado and the cop that shot him. The day after opting out of his contract, Baron Davis signed a huge deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. I said that when we came back, I was going to tell you what grocery store has taken ground beef off their shelves because of a threat of Ecoli. Which one, Skye? Ralph's. That's what I think I'm going to do when I hear this story. Yeah, they say that ground beef has got about 40 people nationwide sick. The meat is from Nebraska beef, so they've pulled it all from the shelf. And they're saying if you previously bought some Nebraska beef, ground beef, from Ralph's, check the sale by date on your packaging. If it's between May 21st and July 3rd, you need to return that.
Mine says February 07, which I probably shouldn't have it anyway. So they'll refund your money, but this isn't good news for them right before the 4th of July. Okay. Sorry. Sorry, guys. Matt, I thought we were having fun. We were. And then that. I thought we were going to go with that. Sure. So what do you guys think about when you're going to a breakfast place? It's a weekend. It's Saturday, whatever. You're going to a breakfast place. Talking about one of these broken yolks or whatever. Forget that. Let's say it's broken yolks, but let's say it's also Starbucks. So let's say it's wherever. Where they have, it's San Diego. Where they have outside seating. Okay. And let's say that it's not even breakfast. Let's say that we're talking about any meal, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And you see the people with dogs. On the outside with them? Sitting outside. You know what I'm talking about, dude? It happened to me this weekend. What happened? We ate at a place in Del Mar. Would you like to breakfast in Del Mar?
I'll meet you in Delmore. So we're eating there and I look over and I notice that like half the people at this place, this outdoor patio, have their dogs with them. And I was saying to myself, you know what? All that has to happen is if one of these dogs decides they're going to relieve themselves in either fashion. And I am done. There's no way I'm eating after that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or what if they get into a fight with each other? I mean, it's just... Well, what if they bite you? Yeah. It's really weird. What if you don't like dogs? Yeah. They're not bothering you. Yeah, but that's just because at the second they're not. But what if they're bothering you just by being there? What if you're allergic to dogs? How about that? You're going there to eat. It is weird. Bring your dogs somewhere to eat. I don't think you should bring your dogs to eat. I'm sorry. I think that it's really great that you have a dog. I think it's great that you have a dog. I love dogs. And I know that there are people that are listening right now that I know and that I'm friends with and they may have a dog and I don't know who they are. I just know that about three days from now I'm going to see somebody and they're going to be like, hey, I heard you talking about that thing and you know I have a dog that I take to breakfast. But I think dogs should be at home. You should take them on walks and you should do all that stuff. But I don't know. Maybe it's not that considerate to others. I really agree with that.
I'm a big dog lover. I love animals and stuff like that, but bringing them to a place where other people are eating to me is wrong. 5701053. What do you think? Do you agree with Eddie? Is it wrong? Do you agree with me? I think it's wrong. 5701053 or our text is 35253. What if the dog climbs up on the table? What if the dog sprouts wings and flies? All these what ifs, but neither of you have experienced a bad restaurant experience where a dog ruined your meal. So it's like you guys really have no basis of your argument. I don't normally see it. I don't usually normally go places like that. And so if I went to that place quite a bit, something is bound to happen. You don't know that. I agree with you. It hasn't happened to me yet. I haven't had any bad experience with it yet. I've never seen anything bad happen. I've never heard a story like that before. And I'm always by restaurant. Taking a dump right there in the middle of the place. I've never heard a story like that before. Have you heard a story like that before? Yeah. Skye. Stop it. I have. Isn't that like saying though, yeah, you know, you don't like guns in the house or whatever. And somebody said, well, it hasn't gone off. You know, it's never hurt anybody yet. Well, okay. I don't want it to. It's a possibility is there.
Yeah, but the possibility is a person could do something like that. But that's a person. That's who the restaurant's made for. I don't know. I really don't have an issue with it. I do see that there's a possibility for things to happen, but I've never heard a story of something happening. You know what I have heard stories of? Kids bumping into my knees when I'm at Blockbuster. spitting on my feet, you know, thinking it's funny when I'm trying to rent a movie, and that's okay. That's allowed. But the dog's not allowed to just sit quietly underneath the table. There's kids spitting on their feet. Well, not literally, Eddie, but they'll be like... Figuratively. They'll be like wrestling. They'll be, like, wrestling, and there's, like, saliva coming out of their mouth, and they're dirty, and they're, like, rolling around on the ground, like, bumping into my ankles, and I'm trying to wreck a movie. I will not look at you. I will not look at you. You know, that's allowed. That's legal. Hey, you're a walk and talk. You're a walk and talk. Just saying. Sorry. 570-1053. Sorry, I'm right, and you're wrong. You and Matt. Is this really happening?
What happened? That's a foul. 20 minutes or so, and the dog gets anxious, wants to run around a little bit. The dog is tied up to a chair, the lady's chair. So, pulls the lady off of her chair right into you-know-what. Right into where he went. Right. Dude. Well, that's bad. I don't care for that. I was on the rooftop at Broken Yolk the other day, and a guy puked at the table next to me. On your seat. At the table next to me, and we smelled it, and it ruined our meal. So I see your point. Maybe we should ban people? Yes. I'm just saying. You guys are attacking. What are you saying? Accidents happen. Accidents happen. These accidents can be avoided. People can't be avoided. Look at me.
I will not. Accidents happen. People spit. People puke. It happens. What's the point? Let's continue that. Little mongrels. Little mongrels. You got that prominent bone. It's like a giant target. Open the bay hatches. Bombs away. Look at that prominent sucker. P1 Nate. Yeah. What's up? Hey, I just had a quick thing. I was at a grocery store, and this lady had her cute little fluffy dog or whatever, and she had it just sitting there, just in the shopping cart, where other people put their groceries, other people use it. And I wanted to say something to the lady, but my girlfriend was like, no, no, no, that's rude. Don't, don't. It's okay. She could have her dog there. He's right. People put food in shopping carts. I agree with that. That's true. She agrees with that. She agrees with that. But not where we eat. Well, you don't eat on the floor. The dog is underneath the table lying down. Oh, but there's dog hair flying around. Absolutely. The hair is not. No, of course not. Of course there isn't. You're outside. Everything's floating around. If there's dog hair flying around from the dog under the table, then there's twigs flying around from the trees above you. Yes. You know how you see twigs flying around? It's a freaking dressy lady thing. Ah! Twig in my eye! You know, Eddie, haven't you ever been sitting there and you go... Yeah.
And you start grabbing on your tongue and you pull a twig out. I pulled a whole tree out the other day. It was like really windy. You don't know what will happen. And then the kids are slobbering all over your feet figuratively. They're drooling all over the place. Yes, they drool. Children drool everywhere. And a guy threw up on the roof. He did. It was gross. So, you know, let's stop these human beings. Get them out of the restaurants. I grew up raising the dog for CCI, Cating Cleaners for Independence, and I took my dog that I was raising with me everywhere, and people would give me crap, and I'm like, listen, get over it. My dog is not affecting you. P1 Amber. But it is. But it isn't. P1 Amber. Hey, how's it going? Good. A couple weeks ago, I was at the Panikin with my four-year-old daughter, and there were these two older ladies at a table outside. Each had a big dog with them. And every time somebody would walk by, these dogs would, like, freak out and, like, try to jump the bush to get them. Oh, gosh. And, you know, what if they got my four-year-old daughter?
You know, I'm making a lot of money on that, you know. Don't take your dogs. Don't take your dogs. I love dogs. I love dogs. I do too, but don't take them to breakfast, man. Not even if they're well behaved. Not even if they're well behaved. No, no. You know why? You know why? Because they're, you don't know what's going to make them freak out. It's an animal. It's an animal. You love their animal. You can love them in your home. I don't care if they eat off your plate at your house. But in public, where I'm eating, I don't know your animal and I don't want to be around your animal while I'm eating. And he shouldn't have to. He shouldn't have to know your animal. Eat inside then. I would never take my dog to a restaurant because she'd be crazy. For somebody else's dog. Be glad for the food on your plate. I am glad. The dog's not bothering you. It is bothering me. It's underneath the table lying down like a good dog. If that dog picks a dump where I'm eating. Why would he? Dogs don't know. They've got to go. They don't know. They're outside. I'm like, dude, whatever. Sometimes I do that. Okay. We want Amanda. On the roof. Good morning.
Orange County, and I had an incident about a month ago where someone who claimed they had a seeing eye dog, the dog actually jumped up and ate food off of a plate at the table next to them that they had slid to, like, take home and wrap up. Yeah, well, clearly... Lady, why do you let dogs in your place? They said it was a seeing eye dog. Was it wearing a cape? Being glad for the food on your plate. Was it wearing a cape? If it wasn't wearing a cape, then they probably were fooling one on you. It had a little red vest, but it didn't look... It was an usher at the movies. Oh, no. Sea and I capes are normally green. Yeah, you got to always see if they have a cape. Sea and I capes are blue. It was super dog. Super dog. That's huge. Look, that dog has a cape, honey. Look, up in the sky. Underdog. Look at that stupid dog with a cape on him. I've never seen it. Take that cape off your dog. So cute, Mike. Can I have a mic? I'm an annoying pet. Dude, it's like those guys that go, you know, you guys talk about pit bulls like they're bad and I got a pit bull. She's the sweetest thing in the whole world. She loves kids, man. She babysits my kids. And you're just like, dude, I'm right already.
So let me get this dog at home. We have laws against people smoking outside, but not against dogs. That's dangerous. Inhaling, what, the air that the dog's inhaling is not secondhand that they're going to kill you. I don't want your secondhand dog. But a dog could bite you anywhere. That's the point. Dogs shouldn't be allowed in restaurants. It's not inside. It's still a restaurant. It's not inside. It's still a restaurant. Chill out. Seriously, chill out. There's so many issues in the world, Eddie, that we should be focusing on. I don't know why you're keeping up with this one. I love it. That's my least favorite thing. That's why you're doing it. I love it. Try to upset me. I love it. P1 Brandon. Hey, what's up, Mike? What's up? Hey, I got a story. My buddy Rick was leaving the aggery down in PB. And he was walking out and there was a lab tied up with two people sitting there eating breakfast. And the lab just jumped up. latched onto his leg. Not according to Ashley. She says that never happens. I didn't say that. You did. You were like, come on, when does that ever happen? I said, when has it ever happened to you? It hasn't happened to me. It happened to him. It happened to his friend.
Please. Allegedly. Allegedly. Yes, this is an urban legend of the guy that goes to the eggery. And he went to Mexico. And it was like, welcome to the world of dog bites. Bloody leg. So my friend actually gets embarrassed and walks away. And after about five minutes of walking away, he's like, yeah, my leg's bleeding. Dude. scenes are ruined, so he walks back to get the people's information. Let me ask a pet owner. What would... Okay, tell me protocol here, Skye. Okay. You're walking, dog bites you, and you kick the dog. Is it like a defensive kick? like a reaction or like are you going for an extra point or is it after the dog and a second there's a difference to me you know the funny thing about that question is is that if it happened there wouldn't be any of this asking you know what i mean like if it happened there's no time to figure that out
Well, no. I mean, that's what I'm saying. Is it a gut reaction? Do you kick the dog immediately as a reaction? Or do you wait a second and then anger boils and then you kick the dog? That's different. The best way to answer it is to put it in the context of how it actually happens. So you're the pet owner. I'm walking by. Your dog just bit me. I just kicked it. Ow. I would understand that. You would? I would understand that as a dog owner. If my dog just bit you and your initial reaction is to kick it, like... I can tell you. As a dog owner, I would too. As a dog owner, I would too. If my dog bit somebody, I would understand the person kicking my dog. Yeah, like if my dog bites you and then you yell at me and then you kick my dog, no, not acceptable. If that ever happened, I would freak out on you if you kicked my dog. If your dog bit me, you would get physical. I would get physical. Physical, I would get... I'd physically kick your dog. Ashley, Ashley. I'd go psycho. If you took your dog to a restaurant and your dog bit me and my reaction was to kick your dog, you would freak out? Well, I would never take my dog to a restaurant, but you said if it was like walking down the street. No, no, no. You would eat everything. Oh, you know what? I don't know if walking down the street is any different. If your dog bites. I'm putting it in a realistic situation for myself. Okay, fine. Just walking down the street and if Sammy lunges at you and bites you and you kick her, absolutely. Things are going to get really bad. It's on.
Yeah, because in Ashley's world... Your problem's with me. You can talk to me about it. My problem is you didn't bite me. I should have been handling her better. You didn't bite me. If I had been handling her better, she never would have bit you because I would have her close to my side and I would have full control of her leash. That means that two living things are in the wrong. Sammy and you. Sure, come at me all you want. You kick my dog. It's on. It is on. Time to get physical. Physical. Eddie, help me out with that one. Well, I wouldn't kick a dog. If the dog bit you? No, I wouldn't. Oh, I wouldn't kick a dog either. If a dog bit me, my instant reaction would be to kick. I would beat Rob's ass if it was his dog. Oh, man. Let me tell you something. I would tell my dog to bite you again. Really? Well, I would go Joe Nedney on your dog. Bring it. My German Shepherd would... My German Shepherd is so tough like me, it's got a tattoo on it. How dare you make fun of a dog? You'd go Adam Vinatieri, too, Mike. That's what you would do. That guy's a traitor. Here we go. Oh, my gosh. It is 570. 1053. My German Shepherd is so tough. What?
You freaking out. Oh, my God. I went to a restaurant. There were dogs there. At the restaurant. I'd freak out if you were at a restaurant, too. I would, too. I'd be like, what am I doing here? Exactly. I don't know what it is, but there was something about Boston Rob yelling that over November rain that made it even better. Thank you. Morning, family. This is the Mikey Show. All right, Bob. Thanks for coming in to read today. Sure. New Volkswagen spot, right? For that Tiguan SUV? Yep. Just get comfortable in the booth. Did you just lock? Just a precaution. Okay. The new Volkswagen Tiguan's are here, starting at just $23,200. Wait, wait, the new Tiguan's are here? I thought they'd come in next week. Um, yesterday. Open the store. Let me out. Sorry, Bob. I knew it. They're going to be gone, and I love nothing. Hello, my name is Luis, and I'm here to confess a really bad habit. Hang on. Hello? Hey, what's going on? Okay, I'll talk to you soon. I didn't even realize I had a bad habit until... Hang on. Hello? Yo, amigo! ¿Qué pasa, man? Sure. You got it. I didn't know I had a bad habit until this guy approached me in a bar and said, You know, that's a bad habit. What's a bad habit? Hang on. What? No, it's not raining here. Sorry, you were telling me. What's a bad habit? It's obvious. Drinking that light beer. Try Tecate Light. It tastes like real cerveza. You don't mean that. I do. Ever since we got married, you've really changed. Yes, it's very true. Mikey, does Sammy wear a dog cape? He should because he's super ugly. Wait a second. That is... P1 Navy Davey.
It absolutely makes sense. Mikey, I'd have no problem yelling at Ash first, then drop kicking her dog off to the Coronado Bridge. Anchorman style? Yep, that's what he said. He said Ron Burgundy style. That's P1 iChihuahua. That's classic. Mikey, not only would I kick the dog, I'd pick it up by the neck, punch it in the face, then by the back. No, you wouldn't. P1 Jason. Oh, man. Mikey, if Ashley's dog bit me or any other dog for that matter, I'd call Animal Services and have them kill the dog. They euthanize the animal. No, they do not. They bite you, yeah. Mikey, what if these animals have fleas? It's not respecting others. Leave them at home. Thank you. Why is that so bad? Gosh, there's bigger fish to fry. She's doing that on purpose to me. I'd rather fry your dog. Where are your priorities? How dare you? Aisling. Aisling. As if you're really mad. Call it by her full name. Aisling. Aisling Long. That's fantastic. Mikey Show. Hey, how you guys doing today? What's up? Not much. Quick little dog story for you guys. When I was younger, I was out playing on a tree and we had a gardener who couldn't see me. And we had a small little Cocker Spaniel. And sweetest little thing. I'm sure you guys disagree with that. Cocker Spaniels are cute, man. There's nothing wrong with Cocker Spaniels. We are dog lovers. I love dogs. Wait a second. Marshmallow. Marshmallow, do you think that we don't love dogs? No, you guys love dogs. You guys are just having one of those little mornings. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Hang on a second. Marshmallow gets you guys. Wait a second. Are you saying that you think that we are not dog lovers because we don't want dogs at a restaurant? No, I'm not saying that. Yeah, because I definitely sense a whole, you feel like we're anti-dog, and that's not it. I'm anti-cat. You're haters. No, I don't have anything against dogs. In fact, I love them, man, but I don't want them at a restaurant. Nope. I agree. Okay, I'll take back it. Anyways, so I'm up in the tree, and we have a gardener, and he just did not like our dog because he would go to the bathroom, of course, on the lawn.
And so he didn't see me. I don't think he thought anybody was home. So he grabbed our dog by the collar and just started kicking it over and over again. Wait a second. My dad was home and I just ran into the house and told my dad. My dad ran out, tackled the gardener, started kicking him and asking him how he liked it. I don't agree with either behavior. Yeah, well, it was a situation at the moment, so. Is it on YouTube? Is it on YouTube? Yeah. No, this was when I was out here. Because everything's on YouTube. I wish it was. Everything's on YouTube. I would watch that clip. I mean, you can find everything on YouTube nowadays. Yeah. I think both of those things are not good. I don't think the gardener should have done that, and I don't think your dad should have done that. I would have to agree. And I'd also like to give a shout out to support all the local MMA fighters. Right on.
Support Brandon, the Truth Vera, July 19th. Support Dean Lister, support Eddie Sanchez, support Jason Lambert. They have my support. They're all doing their best. I support. You guys have a great day. I support you too, Marshmallow. Alright. You don't have to laugh right in my head, man. Right in your head. In my head, man. It's Dr. Steve Bruhl. Sweetberry wine. How are you? People, Margie's on the line. Hello. Or is it Margie? Margie. Is it Margie? Margie. Margie. Is it Margie? Wait, wait, wait. Is it Margie? Is it Margie? G with a G. Got it. I just wanted to give you guys a little different perspective. I own a hair salon and it's against the law for people to bring their animals in. And I'm the one that would get fined.
If someone brought their dog in, it can be like a C&I dog or like if you're training your animal. But if we're fine, I'm sure like restaurants, grocery stores, other places probably have state board regulations. I bet they don't. I bet they don't because otherwise they'd be enforcing it. I don't know. I know that we do. People still bring their dogs in, and I just tell them a state board comes in. Yeah, no, it's different when you're outside. I'm not getting fined for it. Sky says different if you're outside. Yeah, like outside patios have different laws. You know, there's different things. Yeah. It'd be something to investigate, though. That makes sense. What about a grocery store? No way. There's got to be laws for that. Oh, yeah. I hope so. Oh, yeah. There better be. So I just wanted to give you guys a little different twist on it. Dog licking the apple I'm going to buy. Yeah. Ew. Gross, Sean. Dog owners do things. Apples can go everywhere. Yeah, Sean. What if? Thank you, Margie. What if? Sean has a dog. No, that's not one. Licking apples. What? P1 Shriver. Hey, what's up, Mikey? What's up? Hey, Mikey. My dog story, I was at a restaurant, and it was like a patio area, right? And so I was eating outside.
And there was this lady with a dog. And I was kind of like, I didn't want the dog to be there right away, you know? Wait, wait. You didn't want the dog to be there right away? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't want the dog to be there. So me and the dog kept looking at each other, you know, for whatever reason. Like, you know, you make eye contact with the dog. Staring contact. So anyways, the dog, it was tied up to the lady's chair. The dog gets away from the chair and starts coming. It starts, like, running. The dog comes running at me. I booted it. I kicked it real hard, right? Like, I kicked a field goal or something. Why did you do that, though? Well, because I thought it was going to bite me, you know? Like, it came right, like, charging at me, you know what I mean? Like, I'm not, I don't, like, hate dogs or anything, you know? But it was running at me. I did what I had to do, you know what I mean? I kicked, so I kicked it. The lady said, oh, my God. And the dog, you know, the dog went, ooh. Not sure I believe him. Anyways, the lady got real mad because I kicked her dog, you know? flipped out because I didn't think the dog should be there in the first place. How old are you? Like 26. What year were you born? What? I was born in 1982. If I knew how to do math, I'd figure out if you were lying. No, no, no. But listen, but listen. Check it out. No, I will not. You are not cool right now.
I said, where's the manager? And I ended up, because I was drinking, I ended up getting kicked out of the restaurant. Hold on. I don't believe this. Get off your Fargan phone, man. Where do you live? Where do you live? Where do you live? I live in PB, bro. Come on. What kind of question is that, Mike? What kind of question is this? Where do I live? Well, no, I live in Chicago. Okay, yeah, hello. Oh, yeah, Mike, I live in Chicago. I'm on the phone. I live in PB. Yes, I'm on the phone. Shut your mouth. other states like this because you know this comes in on me you know what i mean yes i'm on the phone hang on trevor trevor trevor trevor trevor trevor get off your phone man trevor oh oh trevor where are you right now oh i'm actually i'm on a marine base i'm about to go work out no way
They let you around weapons. Marine base, do you mean Silver Fox? Shout out to Brian Adams. He's a recon Marine. He's a great singer. I heard he cuts like an eye. Wow, this guy is a Marine. I acted a fool in there. I was like... You acted a fool? Sweet bear and wine! They had the whole staff out there calming you down. Don't talk about yourself like that, Trevor. You're a friend of mine, man. Stop it. You stop talking about yourself like that. You come on, dude. You're my friend, alright? Stop it. Trevor, you're spitting in my BMW. Stop it. Stop it. Figurably. All right, Trevor. All right, well, I'm going to let you go, bro. Call back tomorrow. Or not. I'll put you through. I know you will. That'll be a lesson. You bring your dog, you know what I mean? All right, thank you. He was telling us the lesson. The story. Yeah.
We said thank you. That was Trevor's time. We said a million times. Thank you very much. Get off your bargain phone, man. Come on. Call back. He won nine digits. He's always getting through. What's up, Mikey? What's going on? I got a question for Ashley. I love dogs. I don't like your time. He hasn't even said anything yet. He hasn't said one word. He hasn't said one word. He hasn't said one. Here's a scenario. I'm walking down the street with my three-year-old son, and you're running by with your dog. He's panting along. And for some odd reason, your dog's kind of irritated, pissed off. He's tired of running, and he takes a snap at my kid. My first reaction is kick the crap out of the dog for the sake of my child. What are you going to do next after that? What would be your reaction to that? With your dog on my kid, I kick your dog.
Your dog. If your immediate reaction, like it was almost like a reflex, like when the doctor hits your knee and you kick your foot, like if your immediate reaction was to kind of defend and block the dog from biting your kid, I get that, bro, for sure. And I support that 100%. And by that point, I will have taken the dog in back full in my control, you know? And if that gets any further than that, then my argument is crap because I'm saying that I will have control of my dog. And if you continue to kick it, then that is not cool. That's animal cruelty. No, I agree with that. But if you're not in control of your dog at the time that he bites my son. But I'm always in control of my dog. And that was where my argument was coming from. I got that. What if your son spits on Ashley's feet? Thank you, Skye. That's a great point. Then what? Oh, hell breaks loose. Hello, is Aftar there? Who? Aftar. This is Kerbal. Who? Kerbal. Okay, well, please. Hello? Hello? I was just calling because I live down the street from you and your daughter come to my house today and she kicked my dog. Your daughter come to my house today and she come on my property and then she kicked my dog. And now my dog needs operation. Which daughter? The one who just answered the phone. Yes, she did. I saw her and then I go to, I saw her at your house. And why did she do it?
I don't know. She didn't say it. She did? She's lying? She's lying to you, f***ing guy. Where from you speaking? I am speaking from my house. Where do you live? Down the street from you. You know what happened? Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. If we get a re-edit on that. Oh, boy. If we get a re-edit on that. You got some good stuff going on. Write that down and call yourself. Can I speak to Mikey, please? Just tell him it's Mike and I need to talk to him right away. What are you thinking, bro? Remember 1020? No, that's if you take some stuff out, that ain't bad. That's funny stuff. I got some stuff like that. Okay. As long as we're in the mood. We're not in the mood. I honestly didn't think that one had any bad stuff in it. Everything in that machine has something. Different time. Really? Dude. That's so good. I've heard some of the stuff in there not happening. Leave it to blunder, dude. Come on. Greatest bit ever. Very true. I don't even remember what's in it, but I'm sure.
There was nothing we did that wasn't scandalous. Not one thing? Nothing. Yeah. It was a night show. Yeah. It's different now. Yeah. Safe harbor. The thing is, is that I know that if we take some stuff, I told Ashley, if we take some stuff out, some of that stuff's good. Like, I love that Jerky Boys thing when the guy says, Hi, Poppy. What is that called? Haven't we played that one on the morning show? Let's try it. No, we did. We did. I know we did. Roll it. A little preview. What is it called? Has it ramped up? No, roll it now. Let it ramp up first. We did. We did. We played it well. I don't remember. It's the one. Do you know what I'm talking about, Sky? Yeah, yeah. Hi, Poppy. Hi, Poppy.
Was it because they were teaching his son Spanish and he didn't want his son to learn Spanish? Yes, yes. Do you guys remember what that's called? Jerky Boys Spanish, I think. Probably. And it's ready for air. I don't know that it is. I don't know. Well, we're all ramped up. Bye. No, I think this one's fine. Okay. Yeah, just like the other one. Is this language place? Yes, it is. You did grave injustice me. Sorry? You did... I brought one my son in. He no speak English. Papi, se habla español. I speak Spanish. Me gusta español, papito. He don't understand nothing I say. I don't understand his say. No comprendo inglés. Ah, un momento. I will find some. Junior, shut up. Are you there, miss? Yes. I took my son to learn English. Yes. He don't speak English. He's teaching Spanish. Yeah, but I need his name if I'm going to look up anything. Yeah, but I named him Saleh.
Now he's saying his name is Chico. Why don't you tell him, why don't you come by the school and talk to us in person? Now he's on tight pants and cockroach killer shoes. He just want to go to club and dance now. Just with me in person. We can discuss it, okay? I'm sorry, but I can't look up anyone in my computer if I don't have the name. Wait, where is the professor? I strangled this guy. What's the name of this instructor? Junior, what's the name of your instructor? Señor Guantanamera. I'm sorry, I can't help you. How fantastic is that? It's the Jerky Boys. I've never heard of that. Ashley, stop doing that right now. If you mean it, we'll all go in there and jump you. We will all go jump you. No idea what that is. But it was really funny. I enjoyed it.
the greatest like crank calls ever. They have like CDs. Is he having to explain what the jerky boys are? That's awesome. Sounds really like a good idea. She's doing a bit. She is doing a bit. You guys got me. Wow. Wow. That's funny. Every day. That's how we started the show. We would play a clip. From the Jerky Boys? Not from the Jerky Boys. From everything. We had all these bits. All these bits. But some of them are not fit for air. Some of them? We should test them right now. No, no, no. I would say 99.4% of them are not meant for air. That was it.
.0021% what we just played right there. Mikey Show. Mike. Yes. Not Dango Mike. Dango Chico. This has been the greatest show in the past six months. Thank you. Wow. Wow. From that one clip, ladies and gentlemen. No, from the ham. Okay. Let's calm it down a bit. Let's calm down. I agree with that comment. I think you're over-exaggerating. I agree with you, sir. It's kind of like a... Oh, I'm not... Hey, this is Joey Tata, by the way. Joey Tata. Oh! Welcome back. Welcome back. Ever. Where are you? Old friend. I'm on rough and road pretending to work. Look at you. Look at you. Yeah, this is like a old school show. Like, I don't know. He didn't talk about a lot of anything except... Yeah, funny stuff. People like it when we... Just talk. Yeah. Exactly. There you go. Fine. Well, thank you for calling, Joe Itata. We appreciate it. I love you guys. Mikey Show. What's up, dude? What's she doing, dude?
Yo, I'm chilling. What up? Talk about it. Yo, I got a request, man. I'm trying to go to beach, so I'm trying to see if I can get a request from y'all for Beach Blast real quick. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll do it. Hold me down. Good looking out. You got it. Guy wants to hear a little Beach Blast. Good looking out, Mike. Let's find it. Beach Blast. Here we go. You guys like Beach Blast? Oh, it's so good. Mikey's show. Hello. Ask Eddie if he would freak out if he had to sit next to a dog at the new Cricket Hamphitheater. What would you do, Eddie, if you had to go to the Cricket Hamphitheater? Hamphitheater. The Hamphitheater. The Hamphitheater. And there was like a dog sitting there. You're trying to enjoy a DMV. I wouldn't. All creatures are welcome at the Cricket Hamphitheater. Yeah. I guess at the Hamphitheater, like their mascot is an animal. Yeah. It's a cricket, so maybe there wouldn't be a problem with it. Next call, please. All right. Noah's Ark.
Thank you very much. Mikey Show. Hey, guys, 2 on Leonidas. I just want to say this show is always dynamite. You guys are the best thing to happen in San Diego. Thank you. Since Ryan Leaf left. Thank you very much. I like it. It's an interesting take. You're welcome. I just want to know when you guys get the key to the city. That's right. Oh, hello. That's a great question. That's a colonel, dude. Hey, all I got to say is Sweet Matter Whine. Sweet Matter Whine. Mikey Show. Hey, what's up? Hi. Can I help you? Hey, yeah, Mikey. Mm-hmm. Hey, did you guys hear something about going on the ballot about California legalizing marijuana or something? Like a couple thousand votes or something about that? Like, what do you guys think on that? I didn't hear that. You guys didn't hear about that? Sky. I just heard it this morning. Did you hear about that? Sky, I was listening to 91X. Oh, God. Did you hear that? Are you sure it wasn't 949 that you were listening to? No, I was listening to Channel 933. Oh.
What about DSC? I was listening to the Dave Shelley and Chainsaw show. What did they say? Well, they were saying something, then they went to commercial, so I was like, oh, let me listen to my favorite show, the best DJs ever, Jeff and Jer. Oh, okay. And what did they have to say about it? They were in commercial, too, so I was like, who can I listen to? Tony and Christina. And I was like, oh, let me listen to the Tony and Chris show. She just goes by Chris? No, it's a dude. And I was like, oh, my gosh, they're not available right now. Let me stream Seacrest at 102.7 KISS FM. Oh, no. And then what did he say? And he wasn't buffering, so I was like, oh, well, there's nothing else to listen to in San Diego. Well, there's Z90. Did you try that? Oh, yeah. So I was like, let me just pop over to Z90. Jagger and Christy. Oh, yeah, what about that? I was like, is Jagger giving away recipes? What about Monique and the Man? And I was like, what's Monique and the Man up to? And I was over there on Steve FM, and I listened to that a little bit. So then I went to the Otter, and I listened to some old music, and I was like.
And I'm like, oh, yeah. And then Sal was like, well, let me go to 103.7 Sarah. And I was listening to Sarah. No, that's Sophie. Frickin' Sophie. Is this station named Sophie? Yeah. Come on. I know. Who's the genius behind that? That can't be true. We're going to take one more call, but then we've got to go. Mikey's show, last call. Bring us home. Remember this phrase for the rest of the day. WWMBD. WWMVD, what would... What would Michael Vick do? Michael Vick do? Oh, my goodness. He signed off like seven minutes. Really? He signed back on just to do that. What a jerk. He signed just to do that. Creepy. Just to do that to us. He's unbelievable. He's laughing hysterically. He's laughing hysterically. I'm glad that boy George is banned from our country, Sean. Thank you very much. Okay? Okay? Okay?
Coming up next, a lovely and talented Missy. Today on the Nooner, she's got the all-request lunch. Make sure you give her a call and make her a request. See you back here tomorrow morning for what will be our version of Friday, because the Fourth of July is Friday. We won't be here, so tomorrow's going to be like Friday. Chantel will be in here for the Battle of the Sexes, and it's going to be the best time yet. At 5.30, the mic shows out, mate.
