announced yesterday that former Charger Terrence Keel had just left a party at Charger linebacker Stephen Cooper's house before he crashed his car and died. Chase Headley and Scott Harrison both go 3-5 and beating Florida yesterday 10-1. There's some good-looking ladies on this show. Don't we? Sky looks really nice today. I look over at Sky because, you know, a lot of times I don't look up until we're, like, ready to go on the show. You know, and it's like the second we're going on the show, I'll look up, I'll go, oh, look at that good-looking girl. And we got Chantel in here and Ashley. And look at this, man. It's ready to go. And this is going to, yeah, it's a short week. Today is going to be like our Friday. That's right. Well, happy Wednesday, Friday. Tomorrow, I'm going to have surgery. And then next week, we are on vacation. And then the following week, we'll be back. But I'll be doing the show from my house.
And so, and you guys will all be in my house, you know, we'll all be huddled up. Snuggling in bed, yeah. I'll be nursing you. Well, no, Sean. No, you won't. He didn't finish. He didn't finish his sentence. Please. I call Sponge Bath. All right. That is so weird. So strange. I meant for you guys to give it to me. It's just convenient. That's right. There you go. Okay. No. So let's get this thing going, man. 570-1053 is the phone number. Give us a call and text us to at 35253. And Zeth, who's bringing food today? Oh, yes, you did. It's Billy Friday. Oh, yes, you did. That place is good, good, good, good.
They're the ones that do, you know, they do these little, they do like picture, picture the normal size French breads that they sell in the store, but like shrunk. Right. Small. And then cut the end of it off, hollow out the inside and stick great pasta dishes in it. Yeah. Yum. Chantel, what's the one that you like the most? I always get spaghetti and meatball. I haven't ventured out because, you know, I like that one. I don't want to mess up my flow. Yeah. So I just keep it going. You're crazy. You're missing out on some good stuff. Well, maybe today's the day. We don't know. We'll see. All right. Eddie, what each one do you like? I've tried several different ones. The pesto chicken is delish. Spaghetti and meatballs is also very good. And I've tried the Alfredo one that Sky Gets. It's really good. They're all real good. I haven't had a bad one yet. Sky, you do not have a problem with the cream in the Alfredo? Well, they make it special for me. They make it with extremely light sauce, so the sauce just barely touches the noodles. So they'll bring in a whole bunch of sandwiches, and then there'll be one that'll say Sky on it because they make it special for me. They're that nice. They're that good. It's called Divine Pastabilities is the name of the place. That is true.
Yeah, I guess that's their website. Yeah, and that's what, you know, that's what they call their sandwiches. Yeah, yeah. Because they're torpedoes and pasta. But the name of the place is Divine Pastabilities. Yeah. Skies, they write light toots on the, just on the outside. They'll put light toots. No, no, because then you know. Tiny Squeakers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Tiny Squeakers. Tiny Squeakers. It has not been great. It is. It's really good. Tiny Squeakers. In the bath. In the bath, by the way. In the bath. Yes. I make bubbles. Yes, that's right. Welcome to the program. 570-1053 is the phone number and the text number is 35253. Well said. What a show today, man. We got such a show today. Was Ashley just applying makeup? Or she's doing the bangs? Doing the bangs. For the past five minutes. Yeah, like all morning she's been doing them. They look good. I know. The first thing that he won third day, Fan said when he came in was that my bangs look great. Yeah. And they're dispersed really well. But now she's obsessed. Because then when he said that, she was like... The pressure's on. Yeah. Now I have to maintain this look. The pressure for perfection is on. I have to maintain the...
Perfect separation of bangage. Dispersion. That's right. Hey, if Rob can make a board, so can I. All right. That's a good point. All right, so let's see. Let's do some introduction and get this puppy rolling. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show, and I'm 38 years of age, and I am having surgery tomorrow. And so, yeah, right around this time, I'll be going in there. Got to be there at 630. And then surgery at 730, they say it takes three hours. Wow. And I'm just remembering what Sky said. You just go to sleep and then you wake up a little while later. It's easy. That's right. Now, are they giving you anything for anxiety the night before? Have you requested that or no? No. You'll be fine. Don't worry about it. No, you'll be fine. You don't need that. I mean, you can probably call your doctor today if you want to. But, well, I know when I had surgery. I like am a freak. So I like couldn't sleep at night. And so they give, they'll prescribe you like one volume. You take it before you go to bed, you wake up, you're there. I want that then. Yeah. Just call your doctor today and he'll call in a prescription for you. I want to be relaxed. Yeah. Because it's the worst when you can't sleep the night before. Okay. Yeah. I want to not do that. You are giving him anxiety. I am not. I'm helping.
Please stop him. I'm helping him. Ten minutes ago, he had no anxiety whatsoever. I'm helping him. A nice warm bath. Yes. You know, whatever relaxes you. That's right. Take the time. A nice warm bath. A shot of bourbon. Yes. No, no. That's not a good one. You can't do that one. You got to do what you got to do. There's a lot that can go wrong. Sean. Sean. Hey. Sean. I'm helping Sky. Stop it. No, you're not helping me. I have nothing to do with you, sir. That's right. Please. It'll be fine. They're professionals, Mike. They're pros. They know what they're doing. Plus, the guy stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. That should be great. Sky, are you getting used to the no mustache that I have? Are you there yet? It's funny that you say that because even like how you said a little while ago how we normally don't make eye contact until we're on the air. Like, oh, yeah, that guy has no mustache. Okay. This morning, shocking. And then I'll forget about it. And then when you come back, when we come back from vacation, it's going to shock me all over again. It's going to have to start. I took my goatee, shaved the mustache off. It's really shocking for a lot of people. I'm still not used to it. No. Come on, man. I'm not.
I thought we would be there by now. It's going to take a while, Mike. I thought we'd be there. You have a bald upper lip. I'm not used to it. I know. I'm naked. I know it. Get some clothes on that thing. I keep thinking it's Steve that's coming into work. My brother? Yeah, that was my first thought, too. Does it really look like Steve? Yeah, dude. Totally. Oh, boy. Oh. Done. Yummy, yummy. All right. Come on. Yummy, yummy. Could you just do it once for us? Yeah, please. Yummy, yummy. Steve says that. He says that? Yeah. He says good-looking girls. That's what he says. Oh, that is yummy, yummy. Really? It's so classic. It's straight up Dr. Wayne, man. He should stop that. He should. Eddie is our producer and our sports guy. And he is 35 years of age. And Eddie. Got a new house. That's right. Can we clean it out? Is everything good? Are we all great? Yeah. How are we doing with that? Yeah. Painting going on right now? Yeah. Outrageous. Outrageous. I watch too much of that HGTV. Yeah. Like, I'm crazy right now. Like, I want to put crazy colors on the wall. Do it. I'm bold. I'm bold with my colors. That's cool. Don't get too crazy. I'm bold with my colors. Listen, you don't tell me.
I'm just saying. I'm just saying. It's not smart for resale. It's not smart for resale. Oh, come on. You can repaint it white. You just bought it. I'm just saying. We're not going to resell it for a long time. Everything is an investment. Oh, you're a mess. You can repaint it. I would rather enjoy it. Sorry. No. Wait, but gold is in. Like, I would think that would be a plus. I have a red wall. It's not. I'm not going red, but it's cool. I'm going with different cool colors. Do it. And the wife is very practical, so she's like, I don't know. And so she's letting me do certain things. So we kind of compromised. And there's a couple of walls that I'm doing like bold. Piano keys. Yeah. That would be rad. Good idea. No, she's not going to demise on that one. Wow. So it's been nuts. Like I'm really going for it. The thing that I think is so rad about it is that Eddie is usually I put you under the category of the most practical guy that I know. Doing the colors and all that, I think it's cool. I really step out of my comfort zone. I'm just like, you know what? I'm going for it, man. I can't wait to see it. That always looks good, too. It does. It really does. Whenever I go into someone's house and they have that wall, I think it's rad, man. In fact, every time I do it, I'm always like, I wish we could do that. I don't know what I'm doing, but once I do it and I pull the trigger, I have one.
Dang, that looks awesome. That's really good. That's cool. Skye is 30 years of age. Whoa. Hey, Sean. Just give me another eight years and I'll be where you are, Sean. Wait till I tell you about Sean. I'm not ready. Did you, Sky, did you hear me this morning as I was looking over the emails from all you guys? Did you hear me go, oh, my goodness? Like, it happened. Like, I just, I couldn't, I just, it came out. I just go, oh, my goodness. Yes. We'll get to it. It just was like, wow. Sean is an eccentric person, I think. He's an eccentric. Oh, it's the truth. He is electric. Yep, he is. Definitely. So I will just tell you this. It has to do with the 7-Eleven guy. Of course. It's his best friend. My new best friend. That's right. He refers to him as his new best friend. But he doesn't know his name. No. Do you, Sean? No. I believe it's Babu. It's Babu. Isn't it Babu? I thought he said it was Babu. He didn't. He says he doesn't know.
Sean, you don't know what his name is? I still don't know. But they're best friends. At this point, I feel kind of weird going, hey, by the way. He doesn't wear a name tag? No. But they're so close at this point that it would be weird to say what's your name because they're best friends. Would be. Maybe I could do the old, hey, how do you spell your first name? A-P-U? B-O-B? Yes. L-A-R-R-Y. Why do you ask? I thought maybe it would be I-E. Sometimes Y. I don't know. Sometimes just the I. I don't know. Let's see. Shawnee is 38 years old. He does not live here. He lives in the Bay Area, so we have to communicate with him through a camera. We see him on a camera, and we hear him in our headphones via satellite. Technology. Greatest thing. Let's see. Ashley is our assistant producer. She's got perfectly separated bangs. Yes. Just perfectly separated. Wow. That's amazing. That's amazing. But she's great. She's 25. Because I'm not good. She's that good. No. She's 25. Joke's on you. That's right. Touche. Austin Rob is 25 years of age. What is your astrological sign, Rob? Sagittarius. He's a Sagittarius. Mm-hmm. How do you like that?
He's born around Thanksgiving. Yeah. 24th, right? 24th. And that year, it was Thanksgiving. That's right. Oh, Thanksgiving. Wow. Ashley. What's up with his shirt? Let's see. What's going on? This is the shirt. Looks cool. I think all of us got one. Stand up. I can't see you. Has your name on the back? Yeah. It says cage fighter? Turn around now. Yeah, it says cage fight gear. It's my buddy Dave. He produces all these clothes. And it says Boston Rob on the back. Wow, that's really cool. You and Eddie, I know for a fact, you and Eddie got these. I put them on your chairs and left them there. Oh, yeah. Like a month ago. Did it have my name on the back? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know where it went, but I put it on your chair for you. Seth's walking around with Mikey on the back. Wow. Yeah, maybe I should get a hold of that guy and say, hey, listen, you know, as you know, I am always giving things away to the charity and to the poor. And so obviously I must have done that. Obviously. And I need another one. Boston Rob is a phone screener by Profession. Professional phone screener, but he's also a singer and a songwriter. He is. And how do you like this? He has a song he will be dropping today. What? From the guy that brought you Taco Shop. Yeah. Yes. Oh, I love that one. Get out of my car, give me back my horchata. That's right. That's the best line in the song.
From the guy that brought you Who Stole My Churro? Oh, yeah. Who stole my churro? What else, Rob? What is in there, man? Binge Drinking was the first one. Binge Drinking. I listened to that the other day. Wow. Different time of my life. It was. Wow. It was not Rob anymore. Wow. Oh, man. Now, today's song that he's going to be dropping is to the tune of Amy. By the Pure Prairie League. Wow, really? One of my favorites. Amy, what you gonna do? I don't know that song at all. I am going, yeah, I'm going to guess that Chantel is not familiar with the Pure Prairie League. Surprise. Yeah. Totally shocked by that. Chantel, first thing this morning when she came in the studio, was curious, who is Billy Joel? Wow. Heard us doing yesterday. That's not true. Billy Joel. Why?
That is a true statement, Sean. Yesterday, I was in the car and I was like, what are they playing? What is this? Yeah, she texted me. I texted Ash and Seth and I was like, what is this? It made me feel very white. When she asked me who Billy Joel was, I was like, wow, I'm a white guy. She didn't get it. It's like not knowing who Elton John is. No, let's not go there. Dude, Billy Joel is equally as big. Yeah, he's a pretty big guy. But hey, listen, I think that we will explore that. We will explore that. Explore that space. We'll explore that space. So anyway, yeah, Rob has written a song about hands-free because now it's the law. Oh, yes. You cannot have the phone to your face. And Rob doesn't like that. Maybe. Not a fan. Get Cricket on the line and, you know, maybe that'll be their new theme. Yes. Could be. Could be. Why does Rob not like that? He doesn't answer his phone. That is true. Why would he not even like it? Yeah. They're taking away our freedoms. Do you really want to get into this right now? Next thing you know, I can keep smoking my car. Wait till the song. Let the song speak for itself. And finally, there is Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates, the third, Junior, Esquire, M.D. M.D. That's right. He is 23 years of age, and he's a good kid.
And he sits in the corner on the days that we have guests in the studio. But the other days, he does not. He gets to sit at the, you know, adult table here at Thanksgiving. You do? Yeah, how does that make you feel? That's right. She's joking. Oh, no, she's on fire. Shed caffeine or what's the deal? Something like that. I would like to go home. And we have guests in the studio today. That's right. Third day fan and his wife. So we have Jeff and Lisa. Jeff is 33. Lisa is 25. Look at that. A younger woman. Jeff, how did you guys meet? We met at my cousin's wedding in Buffalo. She's from Buffalo. I'm from Mount Air. We were both in the wedding. I chased her down. She was the flower girl.
Obviously, right? Now, wait a minute. So, Jeff, you guys met at the wedding and then did it. Was it kind of a thing of like, hey, can I get your email or your number? Is that how it worked? My cousin brought his wife out here. Yeah. And so I. Anytime that, they were best friends, so anytime that she would talk to Lisa, I would, you know, grab the phone. I'd talk to her. That's cool. I got her number. I'd call her at home. She'd be sitting on the bed next to her boyfriend saying, why is this guy calling me? No. No. Crazy. For real? Yeah. And so, okay, so then how did it, how did it, did you say, hey, you can't call me. I have a boyfriend. Was it like that or what happened? Yeah, it was weird. Yeah. I'd call Sandy and be like, why is he calling me? Right. Shoulder to cry on. That's right. Shoulder to cry on. He was persistent. That man pays off. It does pay off. See, a lot of times women really like the chase, you know. They like to feel like you're wanting them, you know. Yeah, sure. And men like to chase, correct? Sure. Sure. So there you go. It paid off. How long you guys been married? Four.
Three and a half years? Yeah, three and a half years. Happily married? Everything good? I think. Love it, man. I love to hear that. That's Jeff and Lisa. And there you go. And then our other guest that we have in the studio today is Melissa. Melissa. P1 Melissa. Melissa. Wait a minute. Come on, Mike. How dare you? I got to figure this one out. Well said. Put your next skin on, Mike. It's Melissa? Melissa. Melissa. Melissa. Is it Mexican? No. It's Italian, obviously. Let me get you right up to the microphone here. My mom's Mexican, but yeah, that's the name she gave me. Melissa. Melissa. Say it for me one more time. Melissa. Melissa. Melissa. You can call me Melissa. Well, I'm sure everybody must call you. That's boring. Everybody must call you Melissa, right? You know, I was struggling with it a lot in elementary school. Yeah. And I really tried to push it. And then by the time I was in. Junior high, high school, I kind of just gave up. Forget it. But now I pretty much figure if I know you well enough, you'll know how to say my name right. Yeah, yeah. Is it spelled differently? M-E-L-I-S-A. Question. Have you ever gone to the doctor and when they come out and open the door and call you in, have you ever one time had someone say it correctly?
I don't even know if the doctors even call you by your name anymore. Well, you know how they open the, there's always, yeah, there's always a nurse that opens the door. Nurse. And for me, says Michael Esperanza every time. Or Michael Espenarza or Michael Espenarza. Yeah, Espenarza is my favorite. They never say it right. So have you ever, so you've never had them say one time. Melissa. Melissa. Melissa. No, I didn't think so. Wow. It's fun to say. Well, there you go. And you are, so you are Czech and Mexican. Yes. So your mom is Mexican. My mother. Your mother's from Mexicali. Mexicali. And your father, and your father, where's your dad from? He's from Prague. Whoa. How did they meet? He was over here, he was a physician for the Navy, I believe. Yeah.
And my mother, she started going to school in Calexico, in Core High School, or she went to boarding school up in Northern California for high school, and then came down here to San Diego later on in life, and they met up. In college? Or how did they meet? Oh, no. My mom actually, she was already married once and had two children in a previous marriage before they met. Okay. And my mom was like a... 40 when she had me, and he was a year older, so I'm definitely like a later on kind of child. But where did they meet? Is it embarrassing? No, my mother works for the Board of Prison Terms. She was a deputy commissioner, and I believe he was doing some work in the prison as a physician. Oh, gotcha. And so they met that way. And she's real pretty. So, Melissa, that's a good mix, Czech and Mexican. Good to know. You know what I mean? Read them. Yes, that's right. 570-1053 is the number. Come on. We want to hear from you, man. This is going to be our last day in here live for a little bit because we're taking a vacation. And so 570-1053 is the phone number. The text number is 35253. And Chantel is in the studio with us, too. We have a copy of the DVD that she appeared on, and we are going to be getting audio from it.
Really? The workout video? Yeah, the workout video that she didn't let us know about. Interesting. That we found out about, and now we have audio. And so we will get that on the air. Great. And we will embarrass Chantal. It's going to be so much fun. It will be. Guaranteed. Let's see. P1 number three is on the line. How are you doing? Good morning, Mikey. How are you? Good. What's going on? Sean, how are you? Now, why did you specifically say hello to Sean, number three, if you know that Sean doesn't like listeners? I mean, he makes it real clear. I know. I know he likes us. He's just, you know, playing it cool. I see. Yeah, yeah. That's very cool. Good theory. Good theory. Very cool. Like, he's playing it really cool. It's an iceberg over there. Look at Sean's face. That face says, yeah, that face that Sean is making right now, that squint. with the rapid blinking, the squint with the rapid blinking to me says, yeah, you're wrong. But who knows? Who knows? Yeah, yeah, yeah. If that's what helps him sleep at night. There you go. What's up, P1 number three? I wonder if you guys have seen the new show on VH1, the new freak show that I got available. It's called I Love Money.
Great show. Of course, Sean has seen it. It's so awesome. I haven't either. Yeah, they basically, they take all their reality stars from like, I Love New York 1 and 2, Rock of Love 1 and 2, a couple other shows, and they put them all in a mansion in Mexico. And they compete for money. It's fantastic. Of course, Sean's seen it. And it's all like the train wreck people. There you go, P1 number three. Thank you. You got it. Let's see, P1 Talen is on the line. Hey, good morning, guys. What's going on? Hey, I just turned 27 today. Oh, hey. Well, thank you. And I have a little predicament. My brother wants to take me to breakfast, but I don't know of any restaurant that plays the Mikey show, and I'm such a junkie for the show. I'd like to find a restaurant that does. Well, obviously you just go after about 10.30ish. I mean, that should be easy for you, right? That's not really breakfast time. That's still breakfast at 10.30? But if you go at 10.30, you're not going to hear the show. I don't understand. He wants to hear the show. Oh, she's saying, don't go. Listen to the show. Man, I just clued into that.
That's a good idea, too. But it would be even better if there was a breakfast place that played the Mikey show. I doubt it. That's correct. I'm just saying. I doubt it. I'm just saying. I don't know. I doubt that that exists. I don't think it does. I don't think anybody's brave enough. No. Oh, put the big bad rock station on. Of course. Of course. That has to be something. I don't know. We'll throw it out there, Talyn. And I think it was a creative way to let us know your birthday's today. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. He is 27 years old. And very nice. Awesome. Thanks a lot, man. Thanks, guys. P1 Word Herd. What's up, Mike? Hey, man, I just wanted to call and wish you luck on your surgery tomorrow. You know my family and I will be praying for you. Very cool, dude, and I appreciate that. And anybody that wants to do that, thank you. I would appreciate it. Awesome. I would appreciate that. You got it, man. Good luck, man. Thank you, brother. All right, later. We'll see you. 570-1053 is the number, and our text number is 35253. They're already hopping with the texts already this morning. Really? Can you believe that? Mikey, was Zed at the Padre game last night? I saw him on TV after the Chase Headley home run. That's P1 Tommy. Well, Seth. Zed, were you at the Padre game? Not to my knowledge. No.
To his knowledge, he was not at the Padre game. Some other Aryan. Yeah, some other guy that looks like a white racist with a shaved head. Or Charlie Brown. That's right. Let's see. Mikey just wanted to wish Sean's mom a happy hump day. What does that even mean? Wednesday is hump day. What's happening? I really almost swore. Mikey, what is the name of the song that plays at the open of the show? That is Baby Please Don't Leave Me by a guy named Buddy Guy. 35253 to text. Thanks. 5701053 to call. The YouTube clip of the day is going to be from Sweden. That's all I'll tell you. We're going to do Battle of the Sexes today. Oh, boy. I got... audio of a very strange radio commercial for the National Beef Association from Matthew McConaughey. What? Dude, it's real, too. That's the beauty of it. The beauty of it is it's a real commercial, but I'll read you the description. Just the description has you kind of like, what? A radio spot Matthew McConaughey recorded for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association comes off a little creepy and oddly homoerotic.
What? Dude, it's so weird. Like I said, B-Rob's got a new song that he's going to drop about how he doesn't like the hands-free. Yeah. Vanessa Hudgens was on Good Morning America being asked about those naked pictures of her on the internet, so we'll hear that. Brandon, the truth, Vera will be in the studio today. Got a great email I got to read you about somebody going to a high school reunion. We're going to do Lyrical Gangsta today. And get those texts in here. Now on Northbound 5, coming out of downtown, a bad injury crash involving a jackknife big rig blocking the three left lanes here near Hawthorne Street. Has traffic all jammed up coming into downtown through the S-curve? A traffic lawyer has an issue to advise you to avoid that area, and that's going to take some time to clear out of the way, and that's just a very busy area on a morning commute. You might want to avoid it if you possibly can. Right now, the 805 is looking okay up out of the South Bay. A minor delay through North Park.
Heavier still, though, out of Kearney Mason now, heading up over to 52. West on the 94, that's jamming up a little bit in the downtown because of that busy 5 in that area. The westbound 8's looking clear in the Eastern Valley, no problems there. Westbound 52, a little bit slow toward the top of the hill here as you come out of Santee. South 15 jammed up out of Escondido off to 78 to Via Rancho Parkway. And then you've got those reduced speeds to deal with in the Rancho Bernardo. This coaster ride, though, on south on 7 to 5 is pretty much full speed all the way down the stretch. Just a minor delay to Encinitas, and then you're good to go. I'm McLaurin's on Rock 105.3. The Mikey Show continues featuring Mikey. I am a fat nerd, and it's really okay for you to say hello. I don't speak Springsteen, and I know that a lot of people do. I've just never been taught the language, and the reason that I say that is because on this Sirius satellite radio, They have a Springsteen channel. Oh, wow. So I'm flipping the other day, and I land on that, and I sat there, and I just, I thought, oh, wow, yeah, I don't speak Springsteen, man. Oh, my mom would love that channel. For real. I mean, I guess that's why. I guess that's why. You know, there are people that totally dig it. But I, you know, there's like a couple of songs that I remember from like the 80s from the album where it was his butt and the American flag on the cover.
You know, born in the USA, right? Yeah. And so I remember that song. What about that video where he dances with Courtney Cox? Courtney Cox, right. What is that? Dancing in the Dark. Dancing in the Dark. Dancing in the Dark. And then the... What was that one? Where he talks about... Glory Days. Glory Days. Glory Days. But that's about it. Like, you know. Thank you. Is that Hungry Heart? Hungry Heart is okay. I like that one. And I know that the guy that drums for Conan O'Brien, like, was the drummer for... The street band? Yeah. But that's it. That big black dude plays clarinet. Yeah, Clarence... Clarence Clements. Clarence Clements. Oh, yeah, he's good. It is 646. Yeah, Chantel's like... Right? I don't know any of this. David Lee Roth almost died last month when he had an allergic reaction to nuts. What? I can't even...
How am I supposed to follow that? What's up, bro? I don't know. It's one of the most commonalities. I know, but the way you worded that, you know what you're doing. All right, two big signings in the NBA yesterday. The Sixers signed Elton Brand and the Warriors signed Corey Maggett. Well, Chantel, question. I'm ready. In your DVD, you know, the workout DVD, is there any point in there where you talk? I think so. I see. Besides, yeah. Gotcha. I don't know why you're doing that. She's more of a physical specimen. Well, I'm having Ashley, you know, load this up. I don't think so, Ash. Yeah, and Ashley is like, I don't hear any parts where Chantel talks. I don't think I talk much. I'm hearing some really cool jazzercise music. Ooh, hello. Yeah.
You like the way I move? Which is getting me in the mood. To jazzercise? To do some lunges? To show your jazz hands? To sweat. Speaking of working out, I tell you that my wife is a runner. Yeah, she is. The best thing ever. She's doing the America's Finest City 5K. That's crazy. On August 17th. Oh, wow. Is she ready? Yeah, dude. She does 5K every week now. What? Wow. She runs a 5K every week. I'm so proud of her. Wow. She's a real amazing woman. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. So now, since she's running over a 5K every week, now she's just working on increasing the speed, getting the endurance up and all that stuff. And she wants to do a 10K somewhere down the line. That's unbelievable. Now, this is a chick that used to smoke and does not smoke anymore.
Who had never run. Ever. She just never ran. So now she's really running and getting into it. She looks great. Yeah, she does. It's crazy how that running will just make your body shed weight and tone up. Movie star. She looks really nice. Let the romance begin. Yes, thank you very much, Dimitri. That was Dimitri. A couple of text messages that we're getting. Mikey, why don't you guys open a P1 cafe? Where all the P1s can go get coffee, breakfast, listen to the show. How rad would that be? And have all P1s be the servers there and work there. Only P1s are allowed to work there. Let's try to imagine, like, where, like, what would be a location that something exists at now that this would be, that that would be cool? Phoenix? Phoenix. That's nice. I was thinking more something, you know, local, though, you know. What about if we did this in Jeff and Jer's studio? What if we were to do that?
for the cafe, but it's way too large. Maybe downsize it a little bit. Maybe we could put a partition out there. We'd have to get rid of all the pink up in there. That's true. That's true. I don't really understand this email, but maybe you guys can explain it to me. It says, yo, yo, yo, Mike, the main ego man, spitting those words on the show for real talk. Jeez, dat surgery real. Datter up, datter up, datter. Well, basically saying you have surgery tomorrow and, you know, good luck and you'll be great and fine. Thank you, Chantel. Chantel just broke that one off. Let's see. Sky got her teeth cleaned yesterday. I forgot about that. How was that experience, Sky? Well, I mean, the people are really cool. And, you know, the first thing the receptionist said to me is, oh, you are rocking the black headband today. Oh. Well, yes, I am. Thank you. How about you? Did you let her touch it? Thank you for saying that. Nice. Thank you for noticing. Did you let her touch it? No, I didn't. You didn't? She didn't ask to touch it. She didn't ask to touch it. She's missing out. That's right. But, yeah, it's interesting how, you know, different people who clean the teeth, the dental hygienists or whatever they're called.
Well said. Some people have different work ethics. Some people really like to get in there and make sure they get every tiny bit. And some people are like, you know, hey, let's just do what we can here without causing you too much pain. Which were they? My teeth are sparkling clean. Oh, wow. Digging in is what you're saying. They were digging in. Yes, yeah. Did not miss anything. A little nugget, nothing. It's the most you can ask for, right? Yeah. Well, I mean, Skye, you would much rather that than go in there. They don't really do anything to you. Yeah, I get that M way back in there. Way back in there. They're like, man, this is from Christmas 06. Okay, that's gross. No, and then they always play the Hawaiian music in there. And, like, the dentist is, like, obsessed with Hawaii. And, like, everything is all, like, tropical fish. And he's always playing Hawaiian music. And so I was thinking about my friend Eddie and what a jerk he is. Yeah, because he's going. He's going without us. Day after tomorrow? Yes. Yes. I mean, you could have invited us. You could have. I didn't call you a jerk last year when you two went.
Not tonight. Sean went too. You should have. If you didn't go, you should have. You would have been justified. It's not right. We would have understood. Everyone went but you, basically. I mean, I appreciate that. You didn't say a word. You guys got to go and had a great time. Well, how dare you? Okay. Okay, is what I'm saying. Valid point. I hope you have fun. I think you're ready. I think you deserve it. We're true friends. Can I go? Can I sit in your luggage? Not ever. Hey. Hey, can you imagine you open up a duffel bag and Chantel jumps out? That would be a nightmare. That would be great. With finger snaps, you know? You know what I'm saying? You'd love it. It'd be the biggest surprise ever. Outscreen terrorist. Oh. That's right. Why? Good. Oh, boy. Come on, guys. He doesn't mean it. No, love. Actually, he does. He doesn't mean it. No, he doesn't. I'm going to tell you Sean's deal. Please. 7-Eleven. Are you ready? Yes. It's not a big deal. Uh-oh. That means it's a big deal. It's crazy. It's crazy. It's not crazy, actually. It's so Sean. Right. It's so Sean. As you know, Sean has a new best friend. Yes. And he works at 7-Eleven. And Sean and he have become friends because they talk all the time. He's a nice guy, you know. And clean the microwave. Sean doesn't know what his name is. But...
Sean was sharing with him that next week when we're on vacation, Sean and his lovely wife, they're going to Lake Tahoe. Oh. Have a nice time. That's right. And so anyway, he was telling him that he was going. And it turns out that Sean's best friend happens to be going there as well. Shut the front door. And so. Cool. Don't say that they're going to. Eddie. Don't say it because I will walk right out of here. They're going to. They're hooking up for dinner. Eddie, please read it. Please. It's right here. That's so weird. Eddie, here's weird. How is Sean going to introduce him to Dina? Hi, Dina. This is the 7-Eleven guy. Yeah, Sean. What were you saying? I don't know. I haven't even thought about it yet. Well, think about it. Yeah, I mean... I mean, what can you say? You've got to be kidding. Wow. This is my friend. This is my wife, Dina. Yeah, but then you have to say, Dina, this is... Well, I don't have to. Well, if you don't, it'll be rude. What am I going to say? This is the guy from 7-Eleven. Yeah. Well, how about you find out what his name is? Well, how am I going to do that? Steph number one. How about you don't have dinner in Tahoe with the 7-Eleven man? Oh, okay, I'll just be rude. No, no.
Let's meet for dinner? Who brought that up? Who brought up let's meet for dinner? It's a great question. I thought it would be really interesting to see the guy. It's like when you see your grade school teacher outside of school. It's like a weird and kind of different experience. I thought it would be exhilarating to see him out of his natural habitat. I thought it would be cool. Let me tell you. I'm glad. for Sean that he accepted and didn't say something like, you know, I don't want things to get weird. I don't know if I'm ready for that because I don't want the relationship to change. What if it didn't work out? The only weird thing is that he doesn't have a cell phone. I had to give him my number so he said he's going to call me when they get there. You gave out your number?
He's going with a bunch of friends of his. What? So it's going to be the three of you? Yeah, just the three of us. Oh, that'll be great. Is he married? What's wrong with that? Is he married? No, he's a college student. He's not married. Is this a young guy? No, he's... 49. No, no, no. He's probably about like 20. I'd say 28 to 30, somewhere in there. I can't take this. This is madness. I'm sorry. I quit. For those of you just tuning in. You need to take a picture at your dinner. Oh, yes. For the website. What's the problem, guys? Thumbs up. What's the problem? Our sound effects guy. Yeah? Who's a germaphobe. Yeah? Who doesn't like any of you listening. Okay. He doesn't. Okay. Let's be clear. Barely likes us. Barely likes us. I don't think he likes me at all. He does like us, but it's barely. But, you know what? Sean reminds me so much of my older brother. Like, my oldest brother doesn't really. talk to the family very much or whatever. But he's got friends from Russia that he hangs out with. And, you know, like he'll host host families, you know, from like Denmark. This is kind of Sean, you know. And so Sean is going to meet up with his 7-Eleven best friend, who he doesn't know his name, in Tahoe. And they're going to have dinner. Why doesn't he have a cell phone? Well, he's a student.
He can't afford it. Eighth graders have cell phones. Apparently he does not. He can't afford one. He can't afford one. And so he's going to go to Tahoe and gamble. Why are he and his friends, what are they going to do in Tahoe? I would assume they're going to gamble. They're going there to hang out and have fun. Yeah. Yeah. And they're staying there and you're going to be staying there. And so you made plans to have dinner. He'll call you on your cell phone from the hotel room. Probably. Well, yeah, probably from the hotel room. Yeah, I would think so. And then you guys make the easiest way. You go to a restaurant. Although he may have to do it from a pay phone because sometimes. Well, no, I'm just saying they can charge a lot of money when you call from the hotel room. I'm sure his friends have a cell phone. Yeah, they probably do. That's a good point. I know at 7-Eleven they sell those cards. That's true. Prepaid cards. Prepaid cards. Oh, he can do that. He can get a Slim Jim and a prepaid card and he's good to go. He can probably get the discount. That's right. So you can call his friend Sean. Imagine him explaining to his friends. But he doesn't know Sean's name. So when Sean answers the phone, hello, he's going to be like.
Hey, this is whatever. He'll say his name. Trust me, I'll have no problem identifying who it is. No problem. His accent is very thick. I don't know if this is a good idea. Sometimes I can't even understand. Where do you think that you guys will dine? You know what? Some delicious restaurants in Harrah's. I'm sorry? There's delicious restaurants in Harrah's and Harvey's. Maybe Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo. That would be real fun. I don't know about that because he's a vegetarian, so we've got to eat someplace. Listen, man. Hey, bro. Hey, bro, what's up, man? What do you think of Cabo Wabo? I was thinking maybe we go to the Cabo Wabo and get the veggie, you know, flautas. Or the veggie, you know, fajitas. They probably have a place that they know of that we can go. Yeah, brother. I was thinking, man, what do you think about after we just chill over at the Harvey and what do you think we throw some bones or, you know, or we hit the crap table or whatever. What do you like? How do you roll?
Uh-oh. Sean looks upset. Play the Cracker Jack or what's it called? Yeah, man. Let's do the Cracker Jack, man. While we're here, let's just roll fat, man. Nice. They would want to go VFU. I'm trying to be cool. I'm trying to be nice to this guy. I am too trying to be slow. I think it's cool, Sean. It's how you make friends. Thank you very much. I don't think it's cool. Always put on red. Don't. Come on, man. Hey, let's party, man. I don't know your name. Hello? Do you want some Slurpee X? Yeah, man. What is that? Slurpee eggs. Oh, my gosh. This guy is unbelievable. Unreal. He's not okay, Sean. It's so unreal that I wanted to extend my hand in friendship to another human being. But man, you don't even know. First of all, he did not extend his hand. We all know that. People who you don't know are just friends waiting to be made. Thank you. You know you didn't extend any hand that anybody would touch. You're a germophobe.
And second of all, it's not so weird that you are going to be meeting up with a friend. It's weird that you don't know the friend's name. Yeah. I can't help it at this point. I don't know why they're all attacking you, Sean. She texts us what you think about it. 35253. Does she know about your past? Does she know, like, what your hobbies are and used to be and all that stuff? Like, how well do they know each other is my question. Well, not that well. I mean, you know. I guess just on this sort of a. Mike. What if one of his friends is the banana rapist? What if? Sean, have you thought of it? Sean. I don't even know what that means. Sean. Oh, yes, you do. Stop it. Wait, we got to stop. We got to talk about this for a minute. Sky just brought up the most amazing point ever in the world. What? Did he rape bananas? No. You know perfectly well what she's talking about.
That's awesome. See, there are two guys that work at 7-Eleven. Yes. One of them is Sean. You know what? Let's take a break. And when we come back, I'll explain exactly, exactly what we're talking about. And then we're going to do Battle of the Sexes. But when we come back, we're going to ask Sean about the banana rapist. That's after these words. It's the Mikey Show. I sound like you're whining little kids. This is the Mikey Show. All right. Repeat after me. My car is not a gas guzzler. My car is not a gas guzzler. A jackknife big rig at Hawthorne has all three left lanes blocked. And the traffic is coming to a standstill out of the South Bay. As you come up to Nashville City, you're pushing that 15 freeway. From there, some single digits barely moving into the downtown S-curve. A traffic alert has been issued advising you to avoid that stretch. That, in turn, has really affected the westbound 94 King Freeway. That is jamming up now from... Before Euclid Avenue for a busier ride, trying to get into downtown and get on that busy 5 freeway. The westbound 8, though, that's clear. That's a good-looking ride all the way to Mission Valley. Westbound 52, that's starting to jam up by the Santee to the top of the summit. 805 northbound, seeing some heavy traffic as well from Market Street all the way to North Park. And now you've got the slowdown out of Kearney Mesa heading up over to 52. South 15, not too bad at all here. You've got to briefly into right around Villa Rancho Parkway and then again Carmel Mountain Ranch.

Did you call AIS about your motorcycle? Yes, I did. What happened? Well, I'm buying the motorcycle. I should be getting it today. And I called my insurance company yesterday to insure it, and they wouldn't insure it because I haven't had a motorcycle endorsement for three years. They referred me to Progressive, and Progressive wanted $1,400. I called Geico. Geico wanted $1,013. And then I remember, you know, AIS from the Mikey Show. So I called AIS, and they were giving me insurance for $829 a year. That's awesome, bro. On a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja.
and never having a motorcycle endorsement on my license. Be careful on that thing, will you? Oh, I will. All right, brother. Thank you for the call. You're welcome. Now, that story is not unlike my story. Only mine was with a car. I save $1,600 a year by switching to AIS. You can too. They also offer Mexican insurance. So if you're going to be visiting Mexico, get the insurance and get it at a good rate. The reason that it's... as inexpensive as it is for that cat, is because they're a broker. They're going to shop over 30 different companies for you. That's what's amazing about AIS. Call them. 1-800-777-4247. For AIS is an easy way to remember it. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. Oh yeah, talk about it. Meow. T. San Diego's Rock. Five, three. Back to the Mikey Show. Featuring Mikey. I put things off. I do like to put things off until the last minute. Eddie. I keep a log of my insults. That must be a pretty long log. What did she say? Oh. Sky. I was throwing weed when I... Save that clip. Sean. I don't often drink milk, but when I do, I have to salt it. Boston Rob. I got ideas, man. They're worth money. No. And Ashley. I don't know anything about that.
Save that clip. Save that clip. You will save that clip. The obvious thing that I would be like, well, she's a black girl, so she didn't grow up listening to Billy Joel. Is that it? Or what is the deal? How do you not know Billy Joel? I'm sure my mom knows who Billy Joel is. I just, this sounds a little familiar, the little beat behind him. Now you're like, I think I know this, right? It's a possibility I've heard it. Uptown girl, never heard of Uptown girl? Uptown girl, she's been living in her eyes. Welcome back. It is 7-15. A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the man who was caught on tape beating a puppy at the border. This is more infuriating than that story. Packers general manager is not answering Brett Favre's text messages. Eddie, I mean. So Eddie's like, hey, listen, it's a matter of respect. You've got to respect this man. He has done everything. He is the Packers.
And he wants to come back, and the GM's like, eh, I'm a little too busy. I'm on vacation. He's coming from an emotional place. I mean, isn't he retired? I've got time for you, Brett. Isn't he not even on the team anymore? You don't have time for Brett? He wants to come back. Eddie wants to come back. But he's not currently on the team. And he wants to come back? Well, that doesn't mean they want him back. That guy called you answering. You know what you're doing, Scott. He is turning red. What? Like, oh, really? Wow. Thank you. So anyway, we'll talk about it later. You know what? We'll get into it. This is awful. I understand. Eddie is a fan of Brett Favre. He's a very big fan of Brett Favre. Would the Sands Casino ignore Frank Sinatra? Exactly. They wouldn't, Sky. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Couple of things to mention. We'll talk about this Favre issue in just a little bit. I've never seen you like this. Well, you know that the guy is very passionate about this. I know. He's a big fan. He's a big fan. That guy's inspired immediately. Big fan. Big fan. Oh, wow. So a couple of things. We're going to be talking. I've got to mention this. We've got to get in this Sean thing, and I've got to figure out what's going on. Sky brought up such an awesome point that I love, and we'll talk about that here in just a second. Also, Battle of the Sex is coming up. Today is going to be our last day live.
Because next week we're on vacation. Tomorrow I'm having surgery. And so we'll be back starting Monday the 22nd. We'll be back. I'll be doing the show from home for the surgery. But I promised a friend of mine I would promote this for him. Because it's something. I would actually go see this. And it's going to be happening on July 19th. But we won't be here. So I won't be able to promote it for him on July 19th. But our boy Harold, the rattlesnake, guy's a professional arm wrestler. And there's going to be an arm wrestling thing going on in San Diego County. It's called the SoCal Arm Wrestling Championships. And it's going on on Saturday, July 19th. And it's going to be at Kehlani's, which is awesome, awesome food, Hawaiian food, which Eddie will be having. The real deal. I'll be in Hawaii. We all know. No need for you. We know. We've got it. Awesome. Okay. We've got it. I'm eating there. Thank you. My mouth just waters. That should be good. Of course. I'm looking forward to it. So, SoCal Arm Wrestling Championships are going on Saturday, July 19th. Kehlani's in Oceanside. And here's the deal. 11 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon. The tournament starts at 2.
in the afternoon. So I don't understand that. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. tournament starts at 2. Maybe that's registration. Oh, that makes sense. That makes sense. Maybe that is the deal. All kinds of different weight classes, men and women. Sky. Righties and lefties. Sky, yeah, go out there. Give it a shot. I don't think so. There you go. They got different weight classes for men and women and righties and lefties. They're going to have custom engraved acrylic awards for people, first through third place in all classes. And a special guest. Remember the dude that drank the motor oil in the movie Over the Top? Come on. I'm not kidding you. What is that guy? Bull? John Grizzly. Yeah. He's going to be out there announcing the event. His name is Bruce Way. Awesome. A.K.A. John Grizzly. The dude that drank the motor oil from over the top. He's going to be out there announcing it. Well, that's reason enough right there. That's right. If you need more info on this and you're kind of like, well, maybe I want to do this and, you know, any of that stuff, you can contact our boy Harold at armwrestle.sandiego at Yahoo. Armwrestle.sandiego at Yahoo. And also, the folks at p1site.com are real cool. They put a bunch of information on there, too. And so, for Harold.
And so if you want to know more about it, it's the SoCal Arm Wrestling Championships going on July 19th. And it's going to be at Kehlani's in Oceanside. Very cool. So Shawnee. Well, here's the thing. Sean is going to go on our vacation to Tahoe. And he found out so is the 7-Eleven guy that he's become really good friends with that he doesn't know his name. And they've made plans to dine together. Sean and his wife and this young man, he's 27 or so. Sean doesn't know. I said 28 to 30, Mike. 28 to 30. He's a college student. Do you know what his field of studies are, Sean? Yes, computer science. Computer science, okay. Wow. That's something that they have in common, Sean, is into computer science as well. And so they're going to be meeting out there to dine. Now, 7-Eleven man.
What should we call him? Babu. Babu. Babu is going to Lake Tahoe with a couple of friends. And Sky brought up a pretty good point and question for Sean. And that is that, if you never heard the story, when Sean goes into this particular 7-Eleven, there is a couple of days out of the week that Babu does not work. And when he doesn't work, there is another gentleman there. And Sean and this gentleman do not. It's his arch enemy. It's his arch enemy. They don't get along. And there's a reason. It's actually an old war, much like the Palestinians and the Jews. Very much so. It's an old war. And dates back to when this guy used to work at a gas station that Sean went to. And when Sean worked at the gas station, he didn't like him there either.
But things came to a head when the guy got a new job at the 7-Eleven that Sean goes to. And Sean went in one day and the guy offered him a banana. He didn't offer it to him, Mike. He just tried to fight it in. He forced it on him. Well, there's a basket. You guys are familiar with this, the 7-Eleven. You go in the 7-Eleven, they got a basket there. It's got fruit in it. No means no, Mike. Yeah. And the guy offered it to Sean. Sean said no. And the guy said, no, no, you want one. You were asking for one. You really like them. You look like a guy that loves bananas. Yeah, you're going to come in here wearing that and expect not to get a banana. Oh, wow. Oh, well. I'm sorry. Oh, boy. More time. There is not a jury in the world that would convict that guy based on what Sean was wearing. Thank you. Uh-oh. Well. So Osama bin Slurpee said to Sean, he rang him up for the banana. And Sean. Furious. He lost his marbles. Well, wouldn't you? No. No, Ashley, I'll be honest with you. If the same thing happened to me, I would think, wow, that's really unusual. I wouldn't pay for it. Right. Because I didn't want it. Sure. He was trying to show him some weapons of mass potassium.
Sean, was he showing you weapons of mass potassium? Oh, Sean didn't do that. Don't do that to the camera. You need to grow up. Come on now, grow up. That's a bad finger. That's right. Stop it. So Sean yelled at the guy. I thought there was a shouting message. There was a little bit. When you left there, you left with words. Coming out of your mouth. I was angry. Yeah, he was very upset. And so Skye says, what if that guy and Babu are, you know, friends? They work in the same place? No way. Now we see each other? No way. Yep. What if he shows up for dinner? A chance. What are you going to do?
What are you going to do? Sean, what would you do? Why would the guy show up for dinner? Because what if they're friends? And that's one of the... I'm sure you didn't question... I'm not eating with him and all his friends. How do you know he won't want to bring his friends by? Well, we talked about just the three of us eating. Okay, and so you were... He's going with several friends. So you were very... It's not like we're having a big, you know... Stanley, sit down. All I'm saying, Sean, is that a lot of times when you plan something, people come along and it's not expected. That happens all... Okay, yeah. I'm scared, Mike. Oh, no. Really? Don't be like this. Don't be like this. All I'm wanting to know, I guess I just want to know what you would do, you know? What would I do? I don't know. I guess I would cry. No, Sean, that's not right. I would try and get through it. I wouldn't acknowledge him. I wouldn't talk to him. That's what I want to know. So you wouldn't even try to break bread? You wouldn't bring up the banana incident. Why would I? Because maybe there could be some banana healing. Yeah, maybe. There was obviously a banana misunderstanding. Yeah, obviously. I think Sean's upset this morning because...
you know, he tried to write a banana check for it, and they only accepted credit. They only took credit cards, and so they wouldn't take his banana check. That's difficult. Yeah. Oh, Sean's gone. Oh, okay. Sean signed off. And the sign-off. Wow. And the sign-off occurred, is what I'm saying. Peace out. Wow. Time to play. Oh, great. I need him for this. My team now. There he is. You're letting the terrorist. Sean can do it. He's a good man. Job. He can do it. You stop it. Ashley is the best. She's trying to intimidate. That's not going to work on Sean. He's not going to fall for no. Make fun of the banana. Yes, she is. Don't let her win. Over authority. You're such a big, tough guy. Oh, man. I don't like this. I don't like the way this is headed. All right. Here we go. Battle of the Sexes is where we take a team of men and a team of women and we put them up against each other. We ask the men.
women questions. We asked the women guy questions. How are they going to recover from last week? You say that every week. Let us just go. That was the greatest comeback ever. You say that every week. I have never said that actually. Yes, you have. No, I haven't. Yes, you have. Friends in 08. So, Team Awesome and Team Sass will face off. Team Awesome is made up of Eddie. Boston Rob and Sean. Whatever. And Eddie is the captain of Team Awesome. For some odd change reason. Well, Team Awesome's won quite a bit. Yeah, we're dominating. And Team Sass. Good shot. They've really tried. They've competed every week. But they've only had five wins. Six wins. And so they're really trying to make a comeback today. Wow. Will today be the day that Team Sass starts to rebuild? So, it looks like this. Team Sass is... The best ever. They are championed and captained by former San Diego Charger girl, Chantel. It's me. She's our spirit. And the rest of Team Sass is Sky and Ashley. Whoa. And let's get this thing started. Let's get this party started.
We're going to flip a coin and see who gets to decide who goes first. Go ahead. Who's calling him? Eddie, how do we do that? Is it our turn? Yeah. Is it the guy's turn to call? Last week, we gave them. Oh, that's right. That's right. Yep. Guys call. So, Eddie, team captain. Go ahead. Tails. Oh, you're wrong. It's heads. Tails. Dang it. Yes. Oh, God. Wow. You're extra annoying today. Oh, no. Let's be friends in a way. Let's be friends in a way. No. I can't do it. Well, Eddie made a good point. Eddie made a good point off the air. He says he thinks that Chantel is, what do you call it? What was it? Annoying. Well, no, no, no. She goes so back and forth. She's bipolar. She's bipolar. She goes so back and forth with her love and her hate and her love and her hate. Okay. So, Eddie, what do you choose to do? We'll let the ladies go first. We're gentlemen. Team Sass, who would you like to start off? Who will be your lead-off hitter? I will this week. Oh, I hope that moves. Look at that. Yeah, even Ashley is saying, why would she do that? Yeah, Ashley is confused. Chantel, she was thinking you should have let Sky go first, but hey, let's see how it plays out. Let's see how it plays out. Let's see how it plays out. Let's see how it plays out. Dissension. Dissension. It's all right. It's all right. Chantel? We're fine. I don't have much confidence in you. Chantel? No, nothing first. Nothing first.
With all due respect and nothing personal. And nothing personal. Wow. She said it wasn't personal, though. This is the best team ever. Hang on a second. I've stuck up for you. Hang on a second. Eddie has said many things in this room. Chantel, you get a sports question. I was trying to turn it on you, Eddie. Sports question. And it's an NFL sports question. Come back to your team, girl. NFL sports question. Please. Okay. I'm nervous now. I don't know how I'm going to do. Chantel. It's okay. Don't let her get in your grill. That's right. It's carousel over there. Don't let her get in your grill. Yes, exactly. And now Skye. Well, Ashley's going after our captain. I love this. Unreal. Losing breathes this mic. It does. It does. If Skye's going to shout at me, then she can't shout right in the mic. It hurts my ears. Oh, my God. Why don't you grow me? We'd love to take her.
The guys are loving this. The guys are loving this. Here we go. Here is your question. Sorry, Chantel. Chantel, your question is... I'm your friend. What number did Emmett Smith wear while playing for the Dallas Cowboys? 22? You are correct. Now what? Now what do you got to say? How long did that take? I want today's battle of sexes on a CD to listen to in my car. You want to know what that was called? Say something. Your mouth is open, but nothing's coming out. That was called a little reverse psychology. Amazing. You should be the captain. That girl is awesome. She should be the captain. That's right. That was amazing. Interesting. Well done.
That was impressive. Eddie, I don't even know how to follow that. That was so good. That was good. On Ashley's part. Over to Team Austin. And who will you have start for Team Austin? My plan, Mike, coming in, I was going to start with Sean, but we've had some issues with Sean this morning. I'm going to go ahead and pinch hit with B-Rob. First point in months. Here it comes. Boston Rob. What is the name of Travis Barker's on and off again wife and girlfriend of the last several years? You know what? I've heard this name before. Uh-huh. This guy said it before. Uh-oh. Yes, we have. This is not a good sign. I usually tune out. Not a good sign. I usually tune out. Oh, yeah, wicked bad. Yeah, when it's early. I usually pretend the phone's ringing or something. Oh, wow. Awesome. Travis Barker's wife. He's looking at the ceiling. That's never a good sign. You did pose in Playboy, right, Sean? Hey, you can't ask questions. That wasn't a question. Open-ended statement. Look it up, Wikipedia. Mike, let's say this one together.
Well, I can't, Rob, because I know the answer, so if I said it with you. Right. Not Christy Brinkley. Rob. Oh, my God. Oh, no. She fought that other chick. Eddie, this is your lead-off, man. I got to put her somewhere in the lineup, and I don't know where to put her. Nothing works. I mean, I've tried every spot. Yes. Oh, man. This is tough. I need an answer, though. That's the thing. Go ahead. Answer, please. Rob, five seconds. I'm working through it. She's blonde. Four. She's a three. Thick chick. Two. One. Thick chick. Sorry, Rob. Sorry. The answer was Shauna Mokler. That's what I said. A thick chick? Shana. Is it Shana? Pronounce Shana. Oh, then I was right. Shana. Shana. Shana. Team.
Team Sass? Yes. It looks like Ashley is up and she gets a multiple choice question. Oh, thank the Lord. That makes it easy. Wow, you guys are so cool. She got you guys a point and this is the way you treat her? Thank you, Mary. It motivated you guys. That question was able to come right to Chantel. I would never treat a teammate like this. Oh, really? It's unbelievable. Except last week when you were calling your team like the worst players ever. I never said that. You have to get all the questions right and they do nothing and you do anything. You know I never said that. Oh, but you did. I don't mind that you did. I really don't care. Rob, I did not say that. Here comes your multiple choice question, Ashley. You are. Ashley in. Ashley, in reference to cars, the acronym LSD is short for what? Is it A, limited slip differential, B, liquid sump drainage, or C, laminated shift disc? Again. This guy just shook her head no at one of the answers. Wait a second. No, I'm shaking my head no at all the answers. I have no idea. I have never even heard of this. Let me ask the question one more time.
And Ashley just gave Eddie a look that said, don't worry, I wouldn't get it anyway. No, I was saying, except for me. Wow. Oh, you know this? How about this? Never mind. Confidence on Ashley. A little secret talk. Okay. Ash, in reference to CARS, the acronym LSD is short for what? Is it A, limited slip differential, B, liquid sump drainage, or C, laminated shift disc? Not C. Either A or B. Ash is kind of squinting right now. Tongue is moving side to side. That's not good. B sounds weird. What about a lump sum? Lump sum drainage. That doesn't make sense. Right. Settlement. She's talking through it. A was liquid what? A was limited slip differential. B was liquid sump drainage. And C was laminated shift disc.
There's no lamination or discs when it comes to cars. I need an answer. That is correct. You carried that team. Single-handedly winning for that team right now. Every week. That's two points, Ashley. No, that's not two points, Ashley. Well, I mean, she was able to encourage Chantel in the first one. She might as well take the point. Unbelievable. Again, I'm sorry, Chantel. Yeah, I don't know what's going on. It's madness in this room. I'll take it. Well done. Team Awesome. Beautiful and smart. Couldn't agree more. Thank you so much. And Sean, you get... No, no, no. I'm going to go. You're going to go? I'm going to go second. I want to rest Sean from the debacle that happened earlier. You got it, Eddie. You got it. Eddie, you get a multiple choice question. Perfect. Your question is, which of the following is not a Paris Hilton fragrance?
Actually, Sean's going to go. Can't be done. Yeah. Eddie, is it A, Just Me, B, Can Can, or C, Summer in Paris? Eddie, which of the following is not a Paris Hilton fragrance? Is it A, Just Me, B, Can Can, or C, Summer in Paris? I have no idea. Okay, let's work this out, dog. Are you looking at the ceiling? Can-can sounds so stupid. It probably is one. The first one was what? The first one was just me. That's got to be one. I mean, she's so egomaniacal. But then the third one is named Paris. We're in Paris. But I just, I don't know. Oh, man. I'll say C.
You are correct, Eddie. Eddie's expression did not change. He stared at Chantel when he answered the question and remained staring at Chantel after I told him that he was correct. Hey, ego maniac. Chantel, if you would give me credit, I would... We have a lot of people in the room today. We don't have enough room for your extra ego. The score is two to one. I don't think Eddie's ever gotten one wrong to this point. Well, that's not true, obviously. Ashley, was that pretty cool or what? Shelf bra? You pulled through, dude. That was a tough question. Thanks, Ashley. Back over to Team Sass. That's just incredible. Chantel is so irritated at Ashley this morning, even though Ashley single-handedly helped Chantel to get one right. How are you saying that? She did too crap. Back over to Team Sass. Yes, Mike. And it looks like Sky is up. Yeah. That is me. Smartest one on our team. Come on, Skye. Skye, name three of the 11 winners of the Ultimate Fighter TV show. Holy cow. Name three of the 11. Whoa. I mean, I can't name one. Three. I don't know. I mean. Good start. Is he one of the 11? Listen, I'm going to tell Skye that these people have been talked about on the show. Dang it.
Ad nauseum. We have mentioned many of these people on the show. Careful. Don't give it to me. Okay. I'm just, you know. Three of the 11 winners of the Ultimate Fighter TV show. Do your best, guys. That's all we can ask. Yeah. Okay. It's fine. I mean, the only people I know are like Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, and Brandon Vera. Wow. Zero for three. Well, yeah. Yes. But we've had one of them here in the studio. Yeah, he was the guy who got in trouble. Kendall Grove. Oh, no. Kendall Grove was one. One we talked about yesterday and the day before, Morris Griffin. That is correct. We had another one in the studio, Diego Sanchez. That's right. He was in the studio. None of this is ringing a bell. Some of the other names. Some of the other names. You've heard these names talked about a lot on the air. Matt Serra. We've said that name many, many times. Let's see. Rashad Evans. Rashad Evans. Let's see. Nate Diaz. Michael Bisping. Bisping. Bisping. Bisping. Amir Sadola. Sadola. He was the latest winner. Mac Danzig. Oh, yeah. Travis Lutter. Luter. Luter. Joe Stevenson.
Joe Daddy, what's up? There it is. Over to Team Awesome. What's the score, Mike? The score is two to one. All right, we're winning. Team Sass is winning, two to one. But we got our main man coming up. Yeah, we do. Shawnee, oh boy. How you feeling, Shawnee? You back? I'm all right. Nice. Shawnee, which of the following is not a type of makeup? Well, that's kind of unfair. Shawnee wore it in high school. That's a good point. Mike, we just got him back. We just got him back. Wait a second here. What is going on? You're insulting him. But he did it. He just signed off again. Wait a second. That's unfair. Mike, in high school, we know he wore a cape. I thought that was the deal. And a cape. He did. Yes, he did. A crow would rest on his shoulder. You guys. He was a waver. He was a waver. That doesn't mean he had a crow on his shoulder. But he did wear black eyeliner, Eddie. Come on. You can't deny that. My bad. I'm furious with you. My bad. I thought that's what he said. Sean, don't let him get to you. No, well. I'm mistaken. I'm sorry. All right. Here is your question, Sean. Are you ready? Yeah.
Your question is, which of the following... You're picturing it, aren't you? Yes. Which of the following is not a type of makeup? Is it A, concealer? Is it B, eyebrow pencil? Or is it C, blush brush? Is it A, concealer? B, eyebrow pencil? Or C, blush brush? Can you turn your camera? I'm sorry. I just want to be able to... We want to make sure you're not looking things up as you do usually. Wait a second, Chantel. Now that is an assumption on your point. That is a blatant... I didn't mean it. But I did. Unbelievable. The rocks on this girl. Yes, Sean, you can. I just want to remind everybody that the last three times that Sean has done this, where he...
has made it very clear that he doesn't know the answer. He truly has not known the answer. It really blows us away every time. Thank you. No, he got one right last week playing this game. The whole Tom Selleck. Oh, no, no, no. That's right. I took a guess. So one out of the last four. Out of all the people, Tom Selleck. Random guess. So he said an 80s icon. I took a guess. Hey, listen. The guy had to take a guess. He was one of many. I took a shot. Shut up. What's wrong with saying, you know what, I knew the answer. If I did, I would say so. He didn't know. If I guess, I guess. He didn't know. Whatever. So, Sean. Yeah, whatever. Take your time, Sean. Thank you, Eddie. Really? Which of the following is not a type of makeup? Is it a concealer? B, eyebrow pencil, or C, blush brush. He's frustrated. You can tell he looks really frustrated. Exasperation. Well, I know that concealer is a type of makeup. Stop it. He made that up. I made that up that concealer is a makeup. That is correct, Sean. That is correct. Oh, my God.
It's tied. It's really amazing. It's tied. It's tied. You guys. How does this happen every week? What's amazing about that? Well, you guys immediately jumped out to the lead. You know, it took 2-0 and then bam, we came back and we tied it. It's just. Okay. How does this happen every week? And then we're going to end up winning. It's tied right now. It's tied. And then what we'll do is we'll take a quick timeout. And then when we come back, three more questions. Three more questions. People will pick on Sky or Ashley or giving Eddie or Sean stuff. Every one of you are great. Thank you, man. The Mikey Show continues on The Rock. Wamu free checking account online in under seven minutes. It felt like... Thanks, Wamu, for making me feel the woo-hoo. Applications may need further review. Account ready once funded. I'm going to tell you something. BMW customers have been asking for it, and now they've got it.
And I'm telling you, there is no other BMW dealership in the county of San Diego that does what BMW Encinitas is doing right now. And what that is, is that when you go in there to do service and you need a loaner car, you're going to drive a BMW. No other dealership in the county can say that. Because what they end up giving you, because they gotta, because they don't have the inventory, they gotta give you a Chevy or a Dodge or whatever. But if you go to BMW Encinitas and you get service done, you're going to drive a BMW. Guaranteed. Also, if you have been a BMW Encinitas service customer or you bought your car at BMW Encinitas and you go in there right now with this new hands-free law, Mac, dude that I know down there in the service department, he will connect your Bluetooth device with your car. He'll pair it for you, get you all set up, and he'll do it free of cost. There is no reason in the world that you shouldn't be checking out BMW Encinitas. The Catelite presents Bad Habit Confessions. Love what you eat. 053, draft by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. It's turned into just a mess of a commute here this morning, especially on the 5, we need a 5 out of the South Bay. This 5 freeway jammed up in single digits, barely moving from Chula Vista before the South Bay freeway all the way into downtown. This all due to a jackknife big rig.
blocking the three left lanes here at Hawthorne Street, and it's causing a major mess on this freeway. That, in turn, has got the 805 busy as well as people try to use this as an alternate getting out of the South Bay. 805 now backed up from well down in just like H Street and Chula Vista, and that's slow all the way into North Park. Now you've got the heavy backup out of Kearney Mesa from Mesa College over to 52. That messed up right on the 5 in the downtown is now... is giving the 94 King Freeway slow and go as well from College Avenue all the way into downtown area. The 8 Freeway, that's not too bad, actually. Just a brief delay coming into Mission Valley from the 805 and towards Texas Street. Westbound 52, a minor delay to the top of the hill, to the top of the summit there. South 15, you're doing okay here out of Escondido. Just a brief slowdown of your rancho. I did sponge up a little bit through Carmel Mountain Ranch, though. This coaster ride, south on side of the 5, though, looking... Backed up from West Forest to Carlsbad Village Drive in Oceanside. From there, you're good to go down the rest of the stretch all the way down. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105 Free. So Eddie is now on the sleep train. Yes, I am. I got aboard. Oh, my gosh. Really? Divine. It's the best. Dude. Can you believe that Sky tried that exotic sandwich? She, like, I don't understand her sometimes. I don't either. Like, she won't eat fish anywhere but eats ahi tuna from Outback Steakhouse. Then, the craziest pasta over there is, like, this peanut butter chicken pasta sandwich.
She walks right over there, eats it. Really good. What? How strange. Well, let me tell you something. This place, if you never had their sandwiches, they're incredible. It's a crime that you haven't. It's good. The place is called Divine Pastabilities. They take great tasting pasta dishes and stuff it into bread. My wife loves the idea of how clean it is, you know? Like it doesn't get all over you. It's a little package. It's a little package. Anyway, their website, Torpasta.com. I actually wish they were called Torpasta because... I like that. The Cubs made a big trade for the A's pitcher, Rich Harden, yesterday. Wow. 6 a.m. showings? Yeah, they'll be midnight, 3 a.m., and 6 a.m. showings. Really? I want to see it. You want to see it at 3 a.m.? No. Okay. Just wanted to ask. No, I don't. But I do want to see it at a decent hour. I'd most like to see it at my house. It's not going to happen, though. In bed, snuggle? Yeah, snuggling up in bed. You know what I'm saying? Any of you guys ever sleep with an electric blanket? Never, Eddie? I don't barely sleep with a blanket. I could never sleep with an electric blanket. In the wintertime, this used to be my favorite thing. Window open in the wintertime. Window open so that you have that cold air.
And then an electric blanket cranked. It was like being in the womb. That is weird. Except with your head sticking out. That's true. That is right. That is right. Okay. Let's get back to the battle of the sexes. We're tied. Yeah, well. We are tied. It happens. And so we are going to start with Team Sass. And it looks like we're going to have... Our girl, Chantel, leading off. Ashley, you have anything to say? She's good. No, she's fine. Well, you know, she did motivate the team. Yeah, she motivated the team before. You're going to get this question wrong now. Well, Ashley gave you the chance. Here we go. She's a good teammate. She's a good teammate. She was trying to help, but nobody wanted it. Stay out of our business. Nobody wanted her help. Thank you. So, here we go. Oh, boy. In the movie Slapshot, Chantel. Why? Ah, great movie. There's a movie called Slapshot? Yeah, really? Yeah, Ashley just gave a look like, mm-hmm, great. What happened? In the movie Slapshot, what was the name of Paul Newman's team? Was it A. Oh, multiple choice. It's multiple choice. Oh, gosh. Was it A, the Charleston Chiefs? Was it B, the Raleigh Rebels?
Or was it C, the Carolina Cougars? Once again, Chantel in the movie Slapshot. I don't know why she's blankly looking at Eddie. I mean, the answer is not on Eddie. So in the movie Slapshot, what was the name of Paul Newman's team? Now she's getting a little sly little smile looking at Eddie like, oh, really? Was it A, the Charleston Chiefs? Was it B, the Raleigh Rebels? Or was it C, the Carolina Cougars? Oh, Chantel's leaning back in her chair. Looking at the ceiling. Kind of irritated. Ashley. What would you have done, Ashley, that would have made that a winning question? I'll tell you what she would have done. She would have done exactly what she did last time. She would have figured out a way to motivate. Maybe it would have been different than the last time. Motivating makes you know information that you don't know. She's the Bill Parcells of the team. Thank you. Great analogy.
Chantel, was it A, the Charleston... Oh, I'm sorry. You got a one in three chance. Charleston Chiefs. Was it B, the Raleigh Rebels, or was it C, the Carolina Cougars? B, Raleigh Rebels. That is incorrect. I really hate the Cougars. Don't tell me that's right. That would have been wrong, too. Okay, perfect. It was A, the Charleston Chiefs. Well, nice of them. Sorry about that, Chantel. I mean... What can you do? But it is still tied. I told you, Paul Newman. Paul Newman. Let's go back over to Team Awesome. Okay. Awesome. And Austin Rob. All right. Stretching it out. Austin Rob, your question is, what product which creates a cooling effect on the skin is an emulsion of water and certain fats, usually including beeswax and various scent agents, designed to smooth skin and remove makeup? Can you speak English, please? I didn't understand. Boston Rob, he had both hands on his head. What did you just say? I heard fat bees. Rob, what product which creates a cooling effect on the skin is an emulsion of water and certain fats, usually including beeswax and various scent agents, designed to smooth skin and remove makeup? Now, I feel like this is a trick question because isn't that just makeup remover? But...
There's got to be some technical. Eddie, I'm sorry, man. I'm sorry. The guy, you know, you do your best. You do your best. That's all you can do. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. You can put him in the lineup. Am I supposed to magically know this stuff? I don't know where you're going to put him. You know, you just put him in there and you hope. I think you would have a better thought than makeup remover. Doesn't makeup remover remove makeup? So are you telling him that that's not the right answer? No, he's calling me an idiot. Bro. I'm trying my best to answer the question. Well, it can't just be lotion. Oh, man. I'm telling you, it's the longest process known to man. It's like not only do you not know the answer, but you take your time spitting out the wrong answer. That's where your problem lies, brother man. That's not getting me hyped up. Either don't know it or take your time thinking it out. Your stuff don't work in me. Let's see. Is it fatty, fatty, boom-a-lady, beeswax, makeup remover? That is not correct at all. Oh, you were so close. That is not correct. It's called cold cream. Yeah. What? Cold cream. Yeah. Kind of like Noxzema. Yeah. Cold cream. Yeah, it takes off makeup. Yeah. Rob. Okay. I'm sure. Like, I would have ever known that. Ever. I don't think. In the history of mankind. In the history of men. Yes. Men don't know that. Yeah. Okay.
Have you ever heard of cold cream rum? Not in my life. Cold cream is what you take out of the fridge and you put in your coffee. Have you ever heard of Noxzema? Yes, I have heard of that now. Haven't you ever seen your lady stick that stuff on her face at night times? Not once. Not ever? No. Maybe he's not in there when she's doing it because I'm telling you every chick uses that stuff. I think she goes to bed in full makeup. That could be. That could be. Back over to the ladies. It looks like Sky is up. No, Ash is up. The best is up. Ash is up. I ask you to stop that now. Queen of the team. Queen of the team. Ashley, who is the only MLB player to eclipse 4,000 hits in his playing career? Who is the only Major League Baseball player to eclipse 4,000 hits in his playing career? Ashley is looking blankly. May I get the definition of eclipse? Yes, yes, absolutely. I can tell you what it means in this context, Ash. It means to go past 4,000 hits. So to hit more than 4,000 hits. That is correct, Ashley. So it's not the car by Mitsubishi? Now, is this of all time or is this a current player? Didn't block out the sun? Is this of all time or is this a current player? I cannot give you any hints. Okay.
May I have the question one more time? Yes, absolutely. And then I will reveal my answer. Who is the only MLB player to eclipse 4,000 hits in his playing career? Ash is looking at the ground. She has both hands spread out against her mouth. She's shaking her head. Come on, Ashley. You can do this. Her bangs are working. Yeah, they do look nice. Bangs look great. Is it a lunar eclipse? Totally clips of the heart. I am, I am. It was just too easy. You see how he turns on? Right there. It was right there. It was right there. It's a flip-flopper. I'm going to say Sammy Sosa. That is incorrect, Ash. Babe Bonds, Babe Ruth. No. Then I don't know. Pete Rose. Oh, wow. Peter Rose. Never would have got that. That's right. We don't. I said.
What did you say, Chantel? I said Barry Bonds. Kenan McCardell. No, he... I didn't know. That's me, Cardell. First of all. I thought maybe I didn't... I said Barry Bonds. I wasn't... Kenan Ivory Wayans? Who? He's an actor. Damon Wayans? I wasn't... Why are the people you're saying black? Italy Bob Thornton. Yeah. How come everybody's got to be black? Yeah, I'm Mike. Yeah, Mike. Hello. Anyways. Anyways. Back over to Team Awesome. Whatever. All right. Eddie's up. Awesome. Bring it. Oh, the cheddar. Oh, wow. Eddie. Joe. Whatever. In the movie, The Devil Wears Prada. Oh, good luck. Oh, Eddie just... Eddie is not happy. Eddie is air benching right now. He's doing air curls. Air curls. We're still tied, right? You are, in fact, tied. This is important. You did like three. Eddie, there were 500-pound barbells. Oh, sorry. Eddie, in the movie, The Devil Wears Prada. Yep, one of my faves. What? Okay. What magazine did Meryl Streep work for? What magazine was Meryl Streep editor-in-chief for? Wait, easy. Yeah, he's going to get it. Well, I know that... Oh, he's smiling. The movie. He's smiling.
He does read Entertainment Weekly. I know that her character is based on the editor from Vogue magazine, but I think they changed it for the movie. Oh, wow. And I know I've read Entertainment Weekly several times, and it's probably been in that, but also I get confused with that and Ugly Betty because they do a fake magazine too, and I've read that too. Never seen an episode. I believe. It was Runway Magazine. You are correct, Eddie. Oh, my God. Finger signal. Yeah, he deserved it. Eddie is standing up amazed with himself. He can't believe it. Eddie has the hands out like, how did this just happen? How do I defy the odds? He's saying, how do I defy the odds? No one's going to. No one's going to know.
The score is 3-2. No one wants an autograph. Put your pen down. Eddie's got his pen. He's waiting to sign. Does anybody want any? Please. It's 3-2. Please. Team Awesome. You know a lot of girlies. Sit down. Thanks. Down the hand read. Thanks. Team Sass. Sky, you're up. What are you doing? Sky, if a motor oil is 10W30, what does the W stand for? My own gas, Mike. Eddie. That's not nice. Not at all. You're telling me oil goes in a motor? You know this. I believe I do know this. Uh-oh. I believe it's weight. That is... Correct. Motor oil is 10W30. The W stands for winter. What? Anybody. Can anybody corroborate that? Really? Winter? Is that a word? I corroborate it.
Want me to steal it from them? This one, Sky? I didn't know that. I don't think that's right. Oh, really? You don't? Really, Rob? It's been like three months since you answered. Have you gotten one right? Nope. I found it. It does. The answer, it says, which 30-weight oil do I use? Zero W30, 5W30, or 10W30. It says AMS oil, 0W30, 5W30, and 10W30 synthetic motor oils are 30 weight oils. The answer is that anyone can be used regardless if your vehicle owner says manual to use. For example, 5W30, the W means winter. But you said 30 weight. It is 30 weight.
But the W means winter. I didn't know that. Wait. Then dash 30. So 30 is the weight. W, winter. Wrong. I didn't know. I mean, it says. So the number stands for weight. But the W stands for winter. I guess the W stands for winter. I got it wrong. He's got his mouth full. He's waving his hand at the microphone. It's all you guys win. And he practically has a glass of red wine and pasta in front of him. And he's saying, give it to him. Don't swirl. No, I do not accept. I do not accept. Sky, you don't want to take a lot. We don't want handouts. Let's go back to Team Awesome. Well, it's already done. Awesome! We've already technically won, but we can rub it in more. We don't care.
No need for the next question. Sean, Models Inc. was a spinoff of what popular early 90s TV show? Could it get any easier? Mike? Yeah. Can I have the question again? Yeah, no problem. No, let's move on. Well, the question was... The game is over. Yeah, the game's over. We don't need him to pretend like he doesn't know and take five minutes and then answer the question. Models Inc. was a spinoff of what popular early 90s TV show? Mike. Thank you. Stupid. I would have to say. Yes, Sean. The Brady Bunch. Oh, that's incorrect. But you still win. You still win. The guys win. The guys. Mercy roll. Okay, Eddie. That's Team Awesome. It went against Chantel. It doesn't look happy. She's got that look on her face that just says, I'm angry. Sky.
This guy just decided, no, forget it. You know what? I don't even want to. I love how we get asked questions that the guys don't know the answers. Yeah, that's pretty funny. Yeah. But the girl questions, we all know the answers. Ashley is correcting her bangs. They're slightly shoveled. They're fine now. They're a little messed up. It's not fair. We'll take our leave of you. And it's just too bad that the girls are so selfish. She's kind of the John Stockton of the team. That's right. She's got the most assists ever. It feels good. I know it doesn't come from your own team, but we do support you. I'll take you where I can get in. Mikey, 5W30, the first number.
represents the viscosity, meaning the thickness. The second number is the weight, which thickness you want is based on the temp outside. Hence, winter is a factor. It's P1 Samurai guy. Awesome. Whatever. There it is. Okay. Let's see. Would you like to hear Matthew McConaughey's beef commercial? Oh, yeah. This is going to be funny. Well, it's a continuation of the campaign. Beef. Splits for dinner. Now, the guy that does that, what's his name? Samson? Sam Elliott. Samson. He plays a cowboy. He's the greatest cowboy actor ever. Ever. He's in Wyatt Earp. Or Tombstone, right? He's one of the brothers. Yeah. Yeah, he's one of the brothers in Tombstone. Well, you know, the other cool thing about Sam Neill is that... Sam Elliott. Sam Elliott. He actually, he's a really good actor.
Even when he's not doing the cowboy thing, have you ever seen him outside of that? Yeah. In what? Roadhouse. He's awesome. I never did see Roadhouse. Oh, dude, you're missing out. But did you ever see the movie The Contender? Yes. Outstanding movie. And he's in The Contender, and he's great. But he's the guy that does the commercials that go, beef is what's for dinner. Well, Matthew McConaughey is now doing, how do you say his name? Matthew McConaughey? Matthew McConaughey. Matthew McConaughey. A W. Silent W. Well, as you know. Silent and invisible. Yes, silent and invisible. Thank you. As you know, he is a Texas boy. And so they have hired him to do this commercial. Cut three. You see those hickory smoke signals? That's a sure sign it's grilling season in the land of lean beef. Some strip steak sizzling. Canalyzing the entire suburb. That delicious aroma is all the invitation you need to search out its source. Because out here, a neighbor's just a friend you haven't fed yet. Discover the power of protein in the land of lean beef. It's what's for dinner. Let me tell you, the only thing that was so strange about it is that the visual that goes along with it is Matthew McConaughey nude in a hammock with a cowboy hat on with his hands behind his head.
Oh, is that a trailer for Brokeback Mountain? Oh, that was weird. Dude. Yeah. That's just pictures sizzling and all that beef sizzling there along the grill. Off your chest. Ew. Don't y'all just look like a grown man's back? That's right. It's sizzling like baby oil on my chest. What have you got in your mouth? There he is. Apparently beef, yeah. Who wants some manned meat? All right, thank you. So I thought you guys might be interested in doing something. Now it's time for the YouTube clip of the day. The YouTube clip of the day. Ladies and gentlemen, from the same country that brought you ABBA. It's Swedish Idol. Oh, no. Wait. It's going to be everywhere. Well, Sean puts them together. And you know Sean loves things from other countries. He just loves things from other countries.
Laughing so hard right now. This man, just so you know, this little setup, he's going to be singing Tom Jones. And the song is Sex Bomb by Tom Jones. My favorite. Cut 26. Sex bomb, sex bomb. You're my sex bomb. You can give it to me. I need to climb along. Sex bomb, sex bomb. You're my sex bomb. And baby, you can turn me on. What the? Nerd, nerd, nerd. You know what I don't get about these foreign idols is that all the production and the judges, they all speak their native tongue, but then when the contestants sing, they sing English songs. That's because American music's popular all over the world. That's why Michael Jackson's so big in Budapest. Wow. They don't translate that? That.
It was pretty electric, wasn't it? I don't really know. I don't know what to say. Why don't you say hello to Brandon, the truth, Vera, ladies and gentlemen. Ladies and gentlemen, Brandon, the truth, Vera, is in the house. We're bringing him into the studio right now. We've got to get his music or something else. Whatever music. I wonder if he uses the same thing whenever he comes into the ring or does he use the octagon. Does he use different things? Oh, man. He's so intimidating. He's so intimidating, though. He's a big man. Very tall. Brandon, how you doing, man? Good to see you. How are you, bro? How are you? Where's the wifey? Oh, she's in... She's in San Jose. You know, so I got pills in my hand. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He is a strong guy. Brandon, have they ever measured the PSI of one of your punches? They should do that. Yeah. Yeah, they should do that. Yeah.
What he hits, he destroys. How have you been? Good. Oh, no hesitation. Listen, before we talk UFC, just in general, you, your personal life, or do you kind of, the two kind of go together and there is no personal life. It's just all UFC, all-encompassing. You know, it's a lifestyle. It's kind of all jumbled together. Even if it's not UFC-related, I still, my gym alliance training center keeps me busy. I have to train even when I don't have anything coming up. I still have to watch tapes. Because you never know. Like, I mean, like this fight on July 19th, it just kind of came out of nowhere. And, I mean, you just fought like a couple of months ago. So you have to be in shape and ready to go, right? Exactly. I mean, it wasn't out the blue, but I was still in shape from the last fight. And they had a couple different opponents say yes. Were you surprised they called so quickly? I was actually, for sure, yeah. I told them I wanted to be back in the octagon ASAP. And they're like, hey.
You'll be back in five weeks. Wow. Oh, thanks. I did not see the last fight, but the last fight was a loss. Now, this was the fight after the fight that you broke your hand. I saw you after that one. Yes, sir. How does your hand feel? It's good. Did it heal up completely? Healed up completely. There's no after effects. You don't feel any kind of weirdness with it. It's 100% back. It's 100% back. They call it phantom pain. Like if somebody grabs my thumb, like I might go. Just because I know that there was an injury there before. But it doesn't hurt. Yeah. It doesn't hurt at all. So let's talk about the current state of your fighting career. Where you are. What needs to be accomplished. What's going on. The last fight was Fabrizio Verdun. Yes, sir. You were robbed. So mad about it. I didn't see it, Brandon. But everybody that I've talked to. And you've got to understand. Brandon is a friend. comes in and he's a friend of the show. And so immediately there's going to be some people that hear this and go, oh, you're just saying that because you guys are boys. I'm telling you the truth. Everybody has said that you were robbed in that fight. I appreciate that. What are your thoughts? Walk us through it. Tell us what happened and how you saw the fight. I'm still pretty...
Pretty upset about the fight, you know. I was well prepared for the fight. It's the first time I haven't been nervous for a fight. I just wanted to go in there and go at it. It's almost like we didn't get to get going. I'm frustrated because that was a title round fight. Now Fabricio gets to go on and fight for the title. During the fight, I got mounted. Yeah, I got mounted. It's MMA, you know. Bad stuff's going to happen. And for people that don't know, like Sky right now. What's mounting? I'm laying flat on my back. Fabricio is basically straddling me on top, punching me in the face. Oh, that's sweet. It's probably the worst. Sky was like, well, that sounds romantic. I get mounted all the time. Please, please, everyone focus. Thank you. I'm happily married, Brandon. I'm happily married. But we can train. Yes, we can practice. Can you please nod right now? Will there be champagne? Okay. It's a different kind of...
Hey. So go ahead. Anyway, so we're mounted. I was defending myself, and the whole thing, the whole time I got mounted, I remember talking to myself. I was like, well, he's going to mount, and then you go ahead and defend. What is the proper defense? What do you do? Against Fabricio, all I can do is cover my face. move from side to side, try to shrimp out. Would it be different if it were somebody else? Yeah. Anybody else, I would try to bump Oompa and push with my arms a little bit. Bump Oompa and push with your arms? What? Sorry. It's a Willy Wonka thing. Oompa. Oompa. So if it was somebody else, you would have done a thing where you're trying to buck him off. Buck him off and use my arms a little bit more. But because it's Fabrizio Verdum, his jiu-jitsu is so good. If I would have did... any of that, I would probably give him a better position or give one of my arms for a submission. And you knew that from studying him? For sure. I mean, he's been in Abu Dhabi. So your thing was, I'm not going to do that. I'm just going to try to cover up. I'm just going to sit here for the next 20 seconds, 30 seconds and just take my butt whooping like a man. And there was only about 20 to 30 seconds left in the round.
So, I mean, the ref was aware of that. Brandon, I'm sure, was aware of that. Oh, yeah. And he wasn't taking major hits to the face. He was covering up. So you would think the ref would have given him the benefit of the doubt and saying, you know, he's all right. All right. The referee was talking to me. I'm counting Fabricio's punches. I'm listening to his breathing. The referee's talking to me, and I'm answering the referee, I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm okay. I said it three times. Let's pause for a minute. Let's pause. Because I want to put people where Brandon was, which is in a place where. Very few of us ever in our lives. Let's hope. Hopefully they don't ever get there. Not a good position. He works for the premier mixed martial arts company in the world on planet Earth. And at the moment, he's lying on his back while a guy that weighs approximately how much? 240. 240 pounds is straddling him. In England. In England. And this man that is straddling him. Is a premier mixed martial arts specialist and knows jujitsu and about a hundred different ways to beat on someone. So there is Brandon with his arms over his head trying to protect while a 240 pound mixed martial artist is punching him in the head with four ounce gloves. For sure, yeah. So what I want you to do is the best you can.
What is that experience like at that moment? What's happening in your brain? Honestly, I've been through it so many times in training that when it happened, I was cool with it. It sounds kind of sadistic, but it's my job. I needed to make sure that everybody, or at least I could show that I was. Okay. And when the referee started talking to me, I had to talk back to him. So I'm having a conversation while I'm defending. I'll bet it didn't hurt because I bet there was no sense of that at the moment. No. One shot, one of the shots hurt. How so? He came through and I think he hit me on the left side of my jaw. Oh. But, I mean, I was counting them. I think I counted three to four good shots and one of them was real good. What was the ref saying to you? He said, defend yourself, Brandon, defend yourself. And I was telling him, I'm okay, I'm okay. And then when he stopped, if you watch it again, when he stopped the fight, I look up at him and I said, what the beep are you doing? What are you doing? He said, well, I thought you said, I thought you meant okay, stop the fight. What? What an idiot. Okay, stop the fight. Okay, okay, no more. I was like, I've never, ever, ever in my life. When has that ever, ever happened? When has okay ever been a safety word? Ever.
Ever. And there's like nothing you can do about that? No. Just got to roll with it. That's sweet. Brandon. Just got to roll with it. If you had survived that round, what round was it? First round. First round. First round, last 30 seconds of the round. If you had survived that round, what was your plan going into the next round? Because at least at that point. You know that his tactic with you has got to be, I know how to mount Brandon Vera now. So does your strategy at that point switch to, I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure that this guy cannot mount me in round two? Is that where your brain was? For sure. I was already thinking while I was mounted, just the whole nine. He took me down twice from the clinch, and I've never seen Fabrizio take anybody down from the clinch. He used to always shoot in. So that was in my mind. Obviously, him wanting to be on the ground was the second issue. Third issue, the most important issue, I think, was for me, second round, to open up more and start punching and kicking more. The first round, I kind of wanted to feel him out because he was ranked number five in the world. I wanted to make sure that our game plan was working, which it was, down to a tee. But, I mean, it's frustrating, man, because he's going to go fight on to the title round, and there's no action for recourse, and now I'm 0-2 for my last two showings.
uh it's it's frustrating so i'm excited to get back into the octagon and get with reese andy and uh and let it go man let it go so next up is what's his name reese andy now who is this guy i don't know a lot about him uh reese andy fought in super bowl and he fought in the ifl he's a three-time all-american wrestler he likes to ground and pound people okay so i got my work to the face knees and my cardio i gotta make sure i'm I'm pushing the pace. If he's a wrestler, he for sure can push the pace. Brandon, have you talked to Dana White since the fight? Yes, sir. And when you talk to him, how is your relationship with him? We're cool. I mean, I don't have any problems with Dana at all. I like what he's doing with the sport. I've never had any complaints. So when you're dealing with him one-on-one, it's pleasant. There doesn't seem to be any sort of weirdness or anything like that. No, not at all. And the reason I'm asking you this is because the sense that I got before this was that you were definitely being showcased as the next big thing for the UFC. And so this had to be obviously disappointing for you for that reason amongst a multitude of reasons why. But do you think that this, if you can go in and win this fight on the 19th,
That you can get back on that track that you were on to become the next big UFC? That's totally the plan. Just go back in and start doing what I'm supposed to be doing and keep my nose on the grindstone and just work my way back up the ladder. Here's the other frustrating part for me as a fan of yours. In the next heavyweight title fight, Frank Mir is getting a title shot who Brandon destroyed. And Frank Mir got a lucky leg lock on Brock Lesnar. Thank you. And is getting a title shot out of this, whereas Brandon fought Frank Mir and destroyed the guy. And so I'm like, man, that should be Brandon's shot. And I'm just, it's very frustrating. I know where you're coming from. A lot of frustration. A lot of different frustrations. All the way around. So it's cool. I'm just taking it in stride, man. You know, everybody around me, all the good people around me telling me, you know, there's never been a great champion that is undefeated. You know what I'm saying? Any great champion has been beat maybe five times. So just if this is your dream, this is your goal, stay with it. I'm a great champ. I've been beat 174 times. Brandon is a, I mean, he looks so.
When you see him, he just looks like a guy that could be working in your building, although he is very tall. And his hands are big. I can't even imagine what it would be like getting hit with those hands. They're pretty big hands. Talk to me about your wife. Your wife is also an MMA fighter. She wants to be. Yeah, she'd like to be. She's not ready, though. She's been getting pushed by her manager to fight. like the past year and she hasn't been doing any groundwork uh so we're kind of you look exasperated by that like you look at Brandon he looks so irritated at her or by him I can't tell the manager you're irritated the manager okay gotcha he's my ex-manager that's why is that why yeah and uh it's like yo she's not ready to fight and he keeps calling she needs to fight I can do this for I can do this for right you can do this for but she can't she's not ready to fight so she's just taking her time she's learning the ground game she's a super basic white belt so it's not like she's ready to fight anytime soon so she's learning but she really she would love to fight she just doesn't know when she wants to start doing grappling competitions and see where she's at with that uh-huh her stand-up is phenomenal so i'm not worried about her stand-up at all but the ground is where she needs her work at and she's starting to work on it so and are you
Do you help or do you leave that completely up to somebody else because you can't get involved? I actually help her a little bit on the ground. Are you tough on her? I used to be real hard on her, but I'm not anymore. She can't stand it when – like we used to get into arguments. One time we trained together. I'm mean in the gym. I'm just – Now, what do you mean? Tell me what you mean. Like, give me an example. I can't say it on the radio. So you're just, you're yelling. I'm yelling, cussing at her, push kicking her in her stomach. Right. Get up, woman, get up. And then we didn't talk on the way home. We were driving home, we didn't talk. And then we got to the house. And then I remember I said, you know what? sweetheart i don't think we should train together anymore and she was like yeah i think you're right and ever since that day we didn't train together again yeah um but then we started talking about training and how she wants it and you know i realized that i can't be that way so i kind of toned it down when we train i just show her a couple things when i start to get irritated i can feel myself start to get going i just tell her to drill that with somebody else right there and i'll just watch
And tell her she's doing anything wrong. That's a good idea. Compromise. It's all about compromise. Brandon, the new heavyweight champion, Antonio Noguera. Is that how you say it? Noguera? Noguera. Noguera? Mm-hmm. How do you think he'd fare? I don't know. He's just like Fabricio. Yeah. He's exactly like Fabricio. He's a great champ. Battle tested. That dude, you can beat him up for 10 to 15 minutes, and then all of a sudden, he submits you. And that's kind of how his career's been. He's just been getting beat on, and all of a sudden he just submits the guy with no problem. He looks brand new out of the box again. So it would be a good fight, man. Noguera, that would be a good fight. Hey, we have a P1 that's calling, wants to ask questions. Is that cool? Sure, yes, sir. Can we take some phone calls? P1 Wall, are you there? How's it going, Mikey? Good, man. Hey, Brandon, I just want to know your opinion and your thoughts about the Boris Griffin Rampage fight. That was an excellent fight, man. I thought that was an awesome championship fight. For me, the winner, it really didn't matter who won. If it was Forrest or Rampage, because that fight was so close, I thought it could have swung either way. But for the judges to give Forrest a unanimous decision landslide like that, I thought that was wrong by the judges. I thought the fight was way closer than that. But did Forrest win? Yeah. Did Rampage win? Yeah.
So I wasn't disappointed with the decision, just how the decision went about. I loved the fight, though. That was a beautiful fight. So entertaining. What weight class is that? 205. Yeah, light heavyweight. Light heavyweight. And, Brandon, you're a heavyweight. Actually, for this fight against Reece Sandy, I'm dropping to 205. Really? Yes, sir. How do you feel about it? I'm cool. I'm 217 today. No problem. Last night after training, I was 212. We're still a week away, a week and a half away from the fight. Had a big breakfast. No, I just, oh, that's from eating last night and just everything. I thought cutting weight would be hard, but it's pretty easy, actually. You just got to eat how you're supposed to be eating as an athlete. Yeah, no more ice cream, no more pizza, no more cookies or brownies. Aw, that's the worst. How do you do that? I don't know. I don't know. I was at Einstein today shaking like a crackhead looking at the cookies. I bet. This is the moment that has been called into such controversy, and we're going to mix it up a little bit. We have Brandon, when the ref stops it. It's in Russian. Oh, how about that? Anytime.
Yes. Exactly. Right, right. I don't know why. I wanted to be able to hear that moment in Russian. I think most of the listeners were wondering what it was like to experience it in Russian. And now we have. What more can I tell you? P1 Fernando is on the line. Fernando, are you there? Yes, I'm here. Go ahead, man. Yes, Brandon, I have a question. Lions, who's your next upcoming fighters got coming out? I heard you got quite a few good fighters coming in. Some twins and another fighter? Yeah, we have a... If you come to fighter training, it's closed fighter training, but you can watch. It starts at 10.30 to 11. It all depends on what time the fighters get there. Fighters aren't very punctual.
Our whole gym is stacked with guys who are fighting in WEC, like Gary Padilla, Dominic Cruz. The list goes on and on. If I miss any of the guys' name at Alliance, I'm sorry, guys, but I love all y'all, and everybody's coming up. Our team, we're training harder now than ever and understanding that there is a bigger goal than just doing this for fun. And the twins, the major twins, are actually getting themselves together. I'm starting to train hard now. The list goes on. Come to training session at 10.30 to 11. It's closed. You can't jump in unless you're invited, but you can definitely watch. I think it would be tough for me to be an MMA fighter because I would want to cry.
If I got hit hard, you know, I think, you know, and you can't really do that. I mean, you just definitely not. You know, when you get punched, watch that. Yeah. You know, I think that when you get punched, you want to cry, but you can't cry. You know, there's no crying in MMA. But, man, I'll tell you what. Brandon kicks a major butt, man. He's fighting again on July 19th. And it's going to be free. People can watch this for free. Spike TV, yes, sir. Spike TV. How about that? And the name of the guy that you're going to be fighting again? Is Reese Andy. Reese Andy. So, yeah, this should be pretty good. He's going to be one and done. For sure. Actually, on the night, Shannon Gugarty, he's here in the station with us. He's actually fighting. as well that evening. This was his first UFC fight. Where are you fighting? Fair enough. Just a little brief history on Shannon. He's actually a homegrown San Diego guy who fought in total combat all of his fights. I interviewed him one time. 21. Really, Ash? Yeah. That's cool. Big time. That's awesome. Open the big show. First one, yeah. I love it. Brandon, what do you think of Kimbo? What do you think of Kimbo Slice? Right opportunity at the right time. Yeah. You can't hate on Kimbo.
He's making $250,000 a fight. Can't hate on him. But the situation that he's in, they tried to make him out to become the best. They marked him as the best fighter in the world. And then when you saw him fight, it's kind of like, well, maybe he's not. Let's say UFC calls you and they want you to fight Brock Lesnar. Would you do it? Of course. I'd fight anybody. I don't fight anybody. He'd be like 60 pounds bigger than you. What about Ashley, Skye, and Chantel all at the same time? Would you take that fight? Don't do it. As long as they were wearing gloves and their fingernails were covered up, I'm in. What if they were all synced up, though? Oh, that's bad. Forget it. Our periods are all synced. I'm out. I'm out, yeah. I'm sure I'm out, yeah. I'm out. Yeah, you wouldn't stand a chance. You wouldn't stand a chance. Brandon, what's the last movie you've seen in the theater? Wanted. How was it? Angelina Jolie's in it. It's always okay. No, that movie was good right from the jump. Right when the movie started, it started out well. I haven't seen a good action shoot-em-up flick like that in a while. It was good times, yeah. What's the last really good meal you had? Because now you're dying. Yeah. Mike, why are you doing this?
Honestly, probably when I went home and my mom cooked. Yeah, where is home? In Virginia. Virginia Beach, Chesapeake area. What'd she make you? Chicken adobo and white rice and then Filipino desserts. What is that, Filipino desserts? There's so many. There was bibinka. It's like sweet sticky rice cooked in coconut milk with brown sugar. Yeah, right? Yeah. That sounds good. That sounds good. Brandon, I... I didn't even really realize that you were Filipino until this last UFC. They really showed you going home to the Philippines and all that stuff. What made you decide to bring that side out of you? The UFC actually decided to bring that out. I've been going back and forth to the Philippines, working with a couple of different networks out there, GMA and ABS-CBN, and just kind of doing my own thing out there. I had played a cameo role in one of the shows for GMA and met some of the actors. I was training some of Richard Gutierrez for his upcoming thing. See, I would have thought. Do people think that you're Mexican? Here, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Here I'm Mexican. In Brazil, I'm Brazilian. On the East Coast, I'm Puerto Rican. Yeah, so it all depends on what region I'm in. Where you're at. Wow, what a trip. P1 Jalapeno. Did you notice how I said that all Mexicans? Yeah, that was really nice. P1 Jalapeno is on the line. That's great, Mike. Go ahead. Hey, this is P1 Jalapeno. Got a question for Brennan Vera. Go ahead. You're going down to 205.
And Anderson Silva is possibly going up to 205. And you guys are both mostly multi-fighters. How do you feel would you fare against him? Oh, how would I fare against him? I don't know. I tell you what, dude, that would be an awesome fight. Because I know for sure he would punch me in the face. And I'd have to punch him in the face back. Anderson Silva's probably got the best technically clean stand-up I've seen in an MMA fighter in a long time, man. It would be an honor and a privilege to fight that dude, man. If that fight ever happens, bro, that's going to be some fireworks for sure. Right. I want to get a Brandon Vera fathead for the studio. Yeah. That'd be cool. Let's make that happen. Yeah, yeah, man. We got to get one of those fatheads. Well, listen, Brandon, it's always great to have you in here, man. We're glad that we know you. And you live and train right here in San Diego. And you can see him on television. He's going to be fighting. And you'll be able to see it for free on Spike TV. It's going to be July 19th. And hopefully a win for a boy. For sure. Hopefully. We'll make it happen. Be nice. Thank you for having me on. Right from the jump, man. Get him. Quick time out. We'll be back. When we come back, Vanessa Hudgens was on Good Morning America being asked about those naked pictures of her that were leaked on the Internet. What did she say?

What a rough ride here in some spots this morning. Things are looking pretty good right now. In fact, the South Bay traffic, which... It's just a total mess. I don't have to tell you about that. It's now completely clear. Good-looking speeds on both the 5 and the 805 northbound now as you head up into the city. The 805, though, as usual, still hanging out with a very tough ride from the 163. Heading up over the 52 to Governor Drive and the Golden Triangle before you're completely back up to speed there. Other than that, the West 94, good to go in the downtown now. The westbound need looking great in the Mission Valley. South 15, you'll find a minor delay through Rancho Bernardo, Carmel Mountain Ranch. Not too bad.
The coastal ride is so beautiful, man. That's just an outstanding ride on South 5 from Oceanside all the way down to the border. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. So Eddie is now on the sleep train. Yes, I am. I got aboard. And it's because you just got a new house. Eddie just bought a new house. And he's putting some beds in, furnishing the place. It has the pillow top on top, but yet it's still pretty firm. Yeah. So you get both.

But I'm only three from the ocean floor. So I live in Saratoga where you can move to Southern California just cause the rain is more. Dave Matthews. Take a look at me now. Tell me what it's about. Jason Mraz. Do you think that I am caught up in a romance that is thought of just cause I can't beat you? That's San Diego singer. That's Paul Wright. Welcome back. It's 913. Matthew McConaughey has announced the name for his baby. Everybody ready? No. The baby, in his words, is actually named after him. Sirloin. It's Sirloin. It's named after him somehow in a biblical sort of way, I guess. The baby boy is Levi Alves McConaughey.
What? That's her last name because they're not married, so it's Alves McConaughey. You know that his brother named their kid Miller Lite. Right. What? No. No, I don't believe it. 100% true. I don't believe it. That is fantastic. McConaughey says that, I guess, in the Bible, Levi is also the same name. Matthew. There are no genes. In the Bible. He was born at 622, which is his favorite verse from the book of Matthew. Levi. So religious. But Levi is the baby. Baby boy Levi. That's just wrong. I like it. I thought it was about the genes. You didn't think it was from the Bible? I didn't think it was from the Bible. No way, Jose. Jose. Welcome back to the show. It's the Mikey Show. And today is our last day in here live. I get sad. I know it. I just come to the studio anyway next week. Just come and hang out? Yeah. While Ash is doing the best of? Yeah. Well, here's the deal. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to have surgery. And then I'll be out tomorrow and Friday.
Next week, we're all on vacation. And so Eddie's going to Hawaii. We know. Nice. That's right. He's going to my favorite place on the planet Earth as a whole. I'll be going to the wild animal park. Same thing. I'll be pretty close. I'll be taking multivitamins and nursing stitches in my abdomen. It's almost identical. They're all extremely close. Same genre. Yeah. So anyway, there that is. Have a blast. Then starting on the 22nd, we'll be doing the show. We'll start back up on the show, but I will be doing the show from my house, which will be... It's unusual because I'm going to be doing it from my office, and I have a big giant saltwater fish tank in there that makes noise. Yeah. It's got a pump. Turn it off. The fish will die. You can't turn it off. Oh, it happens. The fish will die. Oh, yeah. And so you will also hear a two-year-old. Yes. That's my favorite part. Two-year-old named Jake. Yeah. Are you going to be immobile? Like, what's the deal? There he is.
I'm not going to be immobile. But you're not allowed to move very much. Well, it's not that you're not allowed. It's just I don't know that it's very comfortable to. You want to hear Jake watering? I have it on the little Flip Minnow video recorder. Okay. But I don't know how good the sound will be, but I'll try it. Okay. Let's see. Watering? Is that what you're saying? Watering in the backyard. I don't know what he's saying. Okay, I was just wondering. Say Mego. It's the old. Did you say Chance? Chance, yeah. He loves spraying that water hose. He starts to get a little frustrated because it's not spraying as good as he wants it to. It's coming up. Do you know that he thinks his name is Bubba? It doesn't surprise me. When you're calling that. I don't ever call. That one time you heard me say Jake was weird for me.
Because I never call him Jake. He's Bub. So when he gets in trouble, is he Jake? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. He likes on. Come on, Dad. Get in there. I love that. It would have been funny if he sprayed you. I was thinking that. I was thinking that. I'll teach him that. I'm wondering how funny that would be. So before we left, I said that I would play you Vanessa Hudgens, who, by the way, I couldn't picture her in my head if you paid me. I don't know who that is. I know that name like totally. And I know that Vanessa Hudgens is on High School Musical. But I don't know what, who, what, blah, blah, blah. I do know that there were some pictures of her where she was naked leaked on the Internet. How old is she? Young. Young? She's really young. I want to see 19.
Yeah, somewhere in there. I thought she was 18, but okay. So here is the deal. So she was on Good Morning America. They were asking her about it. Cut four. You know there was some controversy about you and the photos that have cropped up months ago. How did you handle that? Did you have good support from your fans about that? Yeah, you know, my fans are amazing because they have stood by my side. Well, what is she going to say? Yeah. They're the worst. No, you know, actually, they've really been terrible during this time. Yeah. I would have to say, you know, of all celebrities, I probably have the worst fans. Yeah. Unpause. You know, and I mean, they really are my core group. My family's always there for me. And I don't know, I just had to surround myself with good people and just try to think of good things, you know. How did you feel of when that controversy?
Really great. I mean, I think people thought I took it lighter than I really did. You know, for me, it was really tough because, I mean, I'm a private person. And for something like that to happen is so mean. You know, it's just a horrible thing. And I mean, it sucked. But thankfully, it's over now. It's over. How do you think they got those photos? Just. Stupid people. Okay. Oh, yeah, I pose, but they're the stupid ones. Yeah, can somebody walk me through what she means by that? Honestly, what did that mean? And I'm not being facetious or sarcastic. What part? When she said just stupid people, what do you mean? If it would have been me, I would have said, Vanessa, what do you mean? Yeah, I assume people who used to be her friends who are now stupid people. But what would hurt? Okay, now let's say... I think ultimately, though, she didn't really want to answer it. Yeah. That's what she said. I know that, but let's... Oh, I'm sorry. No, Sean. Sean. He's very sensitive. I didn't mean it. I didn't mean it like that. You know, my 7-Eleven guy would never say something like that. I didn't mean it badly, though. I was just... I understood what you meant. Oh, he's turning his camera.
Sorry, Sean. I know you were just trying to help. I don't know what to do now. Well, here's my question, Skye. You be Vanessa. Oh, gosh. Yes, act it out. I hate being Vanessa. How would you be Vanessa? Okay, so when you say stupid people, Vanessa, I don't understand. What do you mean? Just people who weren't very smart. But do you mean your friends? Well, I mean, obviously not. Okay, but that's what I'm misunderstanding. How would your friends have that? How would your friends have that? My friends? Yeah, how would your friends have video of you, you know, nude? I don't want to discuss that anymore. I totally understand, but do you understand where we're a little confused? You would think that that would be a very intimate... Well, I mean... Video that only you would have a copy of. Why would you share... You shared that with your friends? Well, let's take a pretend situation. Okay, hypothetically. Say maybe there's a girl named...
Veronica. Okay. Okay. Veronica. There's a girl named Veronica, and she has a friend named Sally, and Sally knew where Veronica kept all these things, and then Sally one day was like, oh, I want to make me some money, and oh, I'm going to bash out my friend, and then oh, I'm going to go in the shoebox under the teddy bear bin in your closet. Could have been stolen. Find my sex tape. Wow. I keep it under the teddy bears. I mean Veronica. Honestly, I get it now. I didn't get it before. So I think what she's saying is that she thinks somebody stole it from her, right? And put it on the intranet is what is going on. No. The second I thought he made a face like his face was out of tune, but then he realized, no, it's perfect. It's perfect. He's got, yeah. What does he sound like? Like what? He'll take time out. Hopefully you're enjoying the Mikey show. It's our last live show for a little bit. Mikey's show going on the shelf for a week. Next week. That's right. Labs will be in here. Should be great. No worries right now, just some metal debris being reported south 15 near Valley Parkway. Several cars have hit it, so be cautious in that area in Escondido. Other than that, everything else is moving right along. Border weight goes until at least an hour and a half in some lanes of San Isidro. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Let me tell you, AMCO is fantastic for not just transmissions, but they do oil changes, they do brakes, they do tune-ups, they do cooling systems. You'd be nuts not to stop by an Amco, not to mention the fact that they do this thing where you go in there and they're not going to charge you to diagnose. So if you have your check engine light on and you go into Amco and you say, hey, I don't know what's up with this. Can you take a look? First of all, you didn't need an appointment when you went and did that in the first place, which a lot of places you do. You go right into Amco. They'll check it out. They don't want to replace. David Lee Roth almost died last month when he had an allergic reaction to nuts. What? This is a very sad thing for me, but the Rooney family has to sell, or they are selling a majority interest in the Pittsburgh Steelers. Are you kidding me? Dude, they've owned the Steelers forever. Here's what's going on. You know Dan Rooney is... Okay, that was out of line, lady. Out of line, lady. What did you say, Ashley? Came out of nowhere. I didn't say it. Eddie, I apologize. Eddie, I apologize for her. I apologize that you have to put up with this. That's right. That's cool. Yeah, exactly. I said yeah. Let's talk about Dave Lee Ross nuts. It's a crazy story, but we'll get to that one later. So why are they doing this, Eddie? Okay. As you know, Mike, and most people know, Art Rooney was the main owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He passed away. Dan Rooney, his brother, took over, and he's kind of like one of the majority owners, but like four other brothers, Rooney brothers, are part owners of the Steelers. Well, those four brothers want to sell their interest to this dude, which would make him,
The majority owner of the Steelers. And Dan Rooney is like, hey, but I'm the best owner in the NFL. Why are you doing this? Why is he the best owner in the NFL? He was involved in making racial changes in integrating the NFL. I like him. He was involved in a lot of the labor disputes. He was involved in tons of stuff. He's in the Hall of Fame. Art Rooney's in the Hall of Fame. So he's a very influential member. There it is. Yeah, it is. Apparently, Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, is defending parents that give kids stupid names. Well, he would have to. Apple. Yeah, hello. Kid's name's Apple. And what's their son's name? Moses. Moses. Moses. Okay, well. Right. Yeah. Right, Moses. Yeah. So we've had some doozies this week. Nicole Kidman with her baby Sunday. Yeah. Matthew McConaughey names his baby Levi. What's wrong with Phil? Thank you. Barry. So Chris Martin. Steve. Josh. Says in an interview. Jonah. Eddie. That's out there, man. Jonah. Frank. Yes, fine. John. Yeah. Punch. No, you just went back over the line. Out there. Kind of weird thing. John. John is fine. But they're twins.
So Chris Martin says in an interview, quote, people make a big fuss over names, names of babies, names of albums, names of bands. There's nothing weird about calling your baby Chewbacca if that's what you want to call your baby. He says it's no stranger than calling her Sarah. What? Except he did not. Except he never would. If it's so doesn't mean anything, name your next daughter, Tiffany. He says a name is just a noise. Oh, really? A noise. Name your next daughter, Tiffany. And name your next son, Jeff. If that's a deal, Chris, name your son, Jeff. I just want him to name him Chewbacca, really. Yeah, me too. That's my plan. Whoa, please. Not you. Middle name. What is up with these businesses are giving stuff away? The economy. Taco Bell. Seriously, I guess that's it. It is. They're trying to bring people back. Taco Bell. What did they give away? No, it wasn't Taco Bell. It was Jack in the Box. It gave away free tacos. McDonald's. Free chicken sandwich a while back. Sky says 7-Eleven's about to give something away. Sean's friendship. Bananas. Bananas. What are they doing? So on Friday.
The date will be 7-11-08. So it's 7-11 day. 7-11. And anyone can go in and get a free Slurpee. It will be a 7.11 ounce Slurpee, which is small, but it's a free Slurpee. 7.11 ounces? How? Can you tell? That's like a shot for us. Show me with fingers, maybe? I don't know. Well, they have a picture here. I'll tell you what it is. I know exactly what it is. No, that's like regular. The size of a hand? No. A ham? Ham. I'm sorry about that. I'll be there. Do they have that flavor? Ham slurping? Geez. Ham? So they're doing that as well as another freebie on Friday. What? Another company's doing a freebie on Friday. Chick-fil-A. Ooh. Ooh. Ooh. What? And I can't have it. But this one's different, Mike. I don't know if you would take part in this one. What? Chick-fil-A wants you to go into any of their restaurants on Friday dressed as a cow. It is Cow Appreciation Day. Now, you can dress as a partial cow and get a free entree. They have, like, suggestions on their website. Of how to do it? Of, like, how you could paint your face.
I would do that, by the way. 100%. Eddie, I promise you that that's a true statement. No, you would not. Mike is lying. He is running with the bulls and lying right now. I'm telling you, guys. I'm telling you that I surprise you oftentimes. And I'm telling you that I would paint my face like a cow. You surprise me when you say things like that, but you never follow through with it. If my guts weren't going to be hanging out on Friday, you would paint your face like a cow for what? For a free chicken sandwich. Yes. I'll tell you why I would do it. May I tell you why I would do it? I hope you believe this when I tell you why I would do it. I would do it for the reaction of my wife. Okay, well, maybe you would. I would. That would be funny. I would do it simply for the reaction of my wife, and I mean this as a true statement. I would absolutely do it. I would paint my face up. It depends on how hard it would get to be to get it off. But Chick-fil-A has suggestions on their website. If you dress as a partial cow, you get a free sandwich. If you dress as a full cow, you get a free combo meal on Friday. Dude, you're eating on Friday.
Are you going to do it, Zach? Wow. What about Rob? So many calories, though. I'd have to throw it up later. They're calling it Cow Appreciation Day. I would take the chicken breast out of the sandwich, take all the breading off, and then I would have it. Right, Rob? You know it. You guys want to hear the new B-Rub song? This will do it. Come on. Well, you know, he doesn't like the hands-free law. I don't. Well, why? It's stupid, dude. It's freedoms. Is this America? He's trying to make the world safer. Where are we? Communist Russia? Are we in China? He doesn't like that they're making us do this. And I'm not kidding you. In the office, he was talking about it, and he was 100% sure he was going off in the office. Very passionate. And he was saying how he will, like, outsmart the police and... If they're busting me for talking on my phone, that guy ain't doing his job right. I'm sorry. Watch. Six months down the road, this law struck from the record books. I like this song. Yes, sir. On guitar. Dude.
America was the whole free. Now I have to look wicked queer and put my freedoms up on the shelf. The man wants me to use a hands-free phone. All these idiot lawmakers got it. I don't like less of a dude news. I'd miss the wicked important guy. In your suit to afford that hefty fine with your earpiece. Don't even look like you are on. And I wear such panther cologne. Yeah, this is your song. What? That's ridiculous. I didn't think that. It's ridiculous. I really like the cowboy hat. Thank you. I like the bandana around the neck. Hold on. Because it covers up the Boston tattoo on his throat. A long piece of grass hanging out there. Yeah, there you go.
Rob's going country. I like it. That was good, kind of. Did you like that? I guess. It's Rob's new song, and it's called Hands Free. Well, it's relevant and a song. I would take both of those compliments. I didn't necessarily say they were compliments, but hey, you know what? There you go. So the new iPhone comes out on Friday, and it's going to run. $299 for the 16 gig and $199 for the 8 gig. Wow. Yeah, P1 Danny, that dude, last night, I saw Danny and I saw Zeth too. And Danny's showing me his iPhone and it's got all of these cool things that you can do with it. See, the regular iPhone, you can't shoot video. But Danny's, you can. He's got this thing. And I'm like, Oh, check that. And Zet's like, I can do that. I'm like, why wouldn't you? Your dad has an awesome set of tools. Zet is an untapped resource. Why didn't you tell me? Zet's like, yeah, what did you say? Hang on. What? Didn't get that. You can what? Nothing. You're trailing off, dude. Yeah.
Here, let me look at you. I can't hear you. Why didn't you tell me? I'm still not getting it. Seth, why didn't you tell me you could do that? Because I know you, and I know that the ease of use with the phone is a big deal with you. Yeah. And if you add these things, it's going to turn the whole monkey wrench into the plans of you, the ease of use of the phone. It'll actually change the way I use the phone? Not the phone itself, but how you use it. Like, how you use the applications, how... You would add the applications, how you would load everything on there. Okay. So you're saying that it would be a few steps to get it there. Correct. But that once it's there, it's fine? Not necessarily because they're not sanctioned through Apple. They're third-party applications. Oh, right, right. And? Which aren't regulated. And, you know, a lot of times if something does go wrong, it can make your phone not work. Screw up your phone. Yeah. Wait a minute. P1 Melissa.
Maylisa. Maylisa. Am I saying that right? Wait, wait, wait. Maylisa. Go ahead. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, no, that's right, Maylisa. No, yeah. I've had an iPhone since it came out. Well, it's actually like my second or third. Yeah. Why? Do you drop them? A thousand dollar phone. Do you drop them or what? One occasion, it was a small fault. It wasn't even a big fault. It just, it wouldn't, the screen just, it wouldn't sync. It wouldn't do anything. It wasn't even hit or anything. Just something happened. Yeah. The other one was during New Year's, and I thought it was a good idea to take it out of the case because it fit better in my purse. And then by the end of the night, it was just like, whoops. As soon as it was in my hand, it slipped right out. Right. So do you have those on there? No, I don't. I know some people who do, and me and my friends are kind of just too chicken to do it. Oh, man, it looks so cool. Yeah. Not worth the risk because if anything goes wrong with this, you're going to have to get another one. Yeah, but Danny was playing like he had a little piano on there. He had like an Etch-a-Sketch. He was using his iPhone to do like Etch-a-Sketch stuff. It was fun. So you're going to void your warranty on your phone for a little piano. If I can Etch-a-Sketch, hello. He was shooting video. It was so cool, man.
Yeah, check it out. It's my iPhone. Look at this. Dude, if you can get Frogger, I don't know, man. Nice. I'm all over it. Uh-oh, Sky. One Mikey show number. So close. I mean, the finish line is right there. She's like, I don't see it. I just want to sprint for it. I'll be sprinting right now. Jump. Save Sky. Hey, Sky. Quick timeout. That was bad. What's a P1? This is Budweiser. This is the authentic American lager. This is a recipe used for over 130 years. And the freshest beer in the store. This is hand-selected barley malt from the golden fields of the Great Plains. It's a precise blend of two-row and six-row barley.
for the perfect balance of flavor and refreshment. This is the choicest hops grown in the Willamette Valley in Washington and Oregon and Bonner's Ferry in Idaho. Hops chosen for their aroma, flavor, and character, and hand-blended into each brew kettle. This is every batch Beechwood aged for three weeks to produce a one-of-a-kind smoothness. This is Budweiser. This is the great American lager. Anheuser-Busch, St. Louis, Missouri. All right, let's talk about the Padres. It's like a brand-new team. They called up, like, three guys yesterday. They all contributed yesterday. Chase Hedley's hitting really well. So, you know, they're making moves. They're trying, okay? That's what we could pat them on the back and say, hey, good effort, everybody. And listen, here's the deal, though.
If you want to go to the ballpark, which is always fun. I don't care if the Padres are playing good or not. It's always fun to go to Petco. They got the July dollar days going on right now where hot dogs, soft drinks, just a buck. And they got a dollar off all beer. So this is the time, if you really want to take your family to a game and you're always like, ah, it's so expensive, can't go, this is the time to go see the Padres. And coming to town this Friday, the Atlanta Braves, which are always good to watch, and they're giving away Padres beach towels on Friday. And then on Saturday, they're bringing back a bunch of players from the 1998 NL Championship team. I'm talking like Tony Gwynn, Greg Vaughn. Andy Ashby, Sterling Hitchcock, Seth. Forget it. And then on Sunday, Khalil Green Caps for kids. So maybe they'll have a little goofy haircut on the ball cap. So that'll be really great. So anyway, if you want tickets, you can go to Padres.com or give them a call at 877-FRIAR-TIX. From the beginning of time.

KIOZ San Diego. I didn't even get to say it. I didn't even get it out before he said it. KIOZ San Diego. That is so hurtful. What in the world is he doing? Well, you asked. It's you that did it. You're a bigamist. I'm sorry. It's not coming through. Okay. Welcome back to the show. It's KIOZ San Diego. Hit it. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Ringo. Happy birthday to you. And many more. I'm over this. Many more. He has a screw loose, man. He's dying right now. Ashley baked some cookies last night. She's a baker. She baked them at...
250 instead of 375, and she baked them for twice as long. Why did she do that? Because it made them come out chewy and soft, she said. Does your boyfriend know that you made these high-caloric desserts? What? Does your boyfriend know that you made these high-calorie desserts? Is he aware that you're going to... Maybe he knows that you made them. Does he know that you are going to eat something? I love sassy fat chicks. Does your boyfriend, is he aware that you might eat some of those cookies? Might eat some? I already did eat some. Does he know that? Let the romance begin. How do we all know what he's talking about? Remember you complained a while back about how he's the diet Nazi and he watches what you eat. Does he know that you ate him? I get it now. Well, I got it the whole time. Well, I got it the whole time. But I'm pretending that I just don't understand. Well, you didn't even tell the story right from the beginning. I can't even understand. So you did know. So you did know. No, I had no idea what he was talking about. I couldn't understand. I really didn't. Come on. I was thrown off from the get-go because he told the story completely wrong. What's the story then? I bought brand new cookie dough, which was a really big deal from Bogart Yogurt because they have the best cookies in the world. And I didn't know they sold the cookie dough by the pound.
That was the big deal of the whole thing. So I bought a pound of cookie dough from them yesterday. It was a huge deal. And the whole thing was they cook them differently. And I'm like, what's the secret? And they're like, you bake it at 250 for 18 minutes as opposed to 375 for 8 to 10 minutes. And that's what keeps them soft yet chewy and still cooked. Get it? Got it. I think you owe her an apology, Mike. I'm deeply sorry. I accept. Are you upset? I accept. At the zoo, do elephants throw you peanuts? Sean. You're a jerk, Sean. Ever since I had that fuss on the air, he refuses to say anything ever again to me. Does he give you a weird look, though? Does he look at you and then blow his cheeks up? No, he doesn't do anything because he's scared that he'll piss me off.
He dropped that whole joke. So do you take the cookies and, like, real slowly eat them right in front of him and stare at him while you're eating them? No. You don't? Looking for any sign? Yeah, looking for a sign of disapproval? No, I don't. And for a brownie chaser? She likes to wash her cookies down with a brownie. I did have a brownie, too, yesterday. Oh, man. And a speaker doodle, and then I had two of the chocolate chips. Right now Mark is so mad. And I had a bulgur yogurt. He's pounding his steering wheel. Screaming. You know, I don't know what he's trying to do now on me, like if it's reverse psychology or what, because now he's like constantly offering me like late night dinners, like Taco Bell, like Wendy's, pizza. It was an overreaction. And he's like, want me to bring you some? And I'm like. Hey, jerk. Like, no, I'm trying to diet. Oh, my God. You're trying to diet? I'm trying. I'm trying to diet. I'm trying to diet. Did you hear what you ate yesterday? Well, that's the norm. The word you're missing is trying. See, she's trying to diet. I always eat cookies, but, I mean, I don't like to eat late night fast meals. That goes straight to my butt. I eat cookies, but I don't, you know. That doesn't count. Yeah. But eating after eight is.
Really bad. Cookies. Really bad. After eight. Anything after eight. Are you fat? Walking country. No. I am, Sean. Stop bringing it up. Ash, you're perfect. Her whole synopsis of yesterday is food. Oh, no. I mean, I'm telling you, Mark would be really furious if he saw. What she was up to using. We should move on. We should move on. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It was all food. Okay, well. And yesterday was a good day. Ew. Snickerdoodles and... Homemade, Mike. From Bogart Yogurt. Bogart Yogurt. Half non-fat pistachio with half non-fat peanut butter, rainbow sprinkles, yogurt chips, homemade snickerdoodle cookie dough, cookies. And then... Yoga sculpt. Oh, God. That's a way to burn it all off, right? Mm-mm-mm. Then I, yeah, had a brownie at the... Then she took Sammy to a doggy birthday party. Oh, that's right. They have those? Oh, there's Sammy, her dog. Don't pet him, though. What happens at these birthday parties for dogs? Black magic.
There's like all of her dog friends there. There's probably about 15 dogs, all the rigs. Jasmine was there. And Gracie, and that was her birthday. She's a basset hound. She was turning one. I've known her since she was six months old. She said that all of these nutcases are all out there wearing party hats. The dogs were. Only the dogs were wearing party hats. Wait. A couple of them were wearing tutus. There was a doggy birthday cake only for dogs. So all the dogs were eating birthday cake. It was so... Cake for dogs? Like, I... Please make these things? I don't... Can you imagine this scene? No. And then goodie bags for when we leave. And there's all these little doggy treats in the goodie bag. That sounds sweet. It was so great. Idiot. It was so great. Oh, I don't know. This is normal. It's not possible, is it? Do you bring gifts? I didn't because I found out last minute. I know I'm a Jericho. I don't know. But proper etiquette is to show up with a doggy. That's your girl. I don't know. It's the first doggy birthday I've ever been to. I accept that. I think that's sweet. Shut your mouth. No, it's going to encourage her to do stuff like that more. When you say that, that makes her do it more. That's great. I'm glad her dog has friends. That's nice. Great story. Compelling and rich. Nick Cannon said that him and Mariah Carey had a quickie wedding so people wouldn't try to talk him out of it.
If you have to get married in such a way so that people won't talk you out of it, it's probably not good. It might be a red flag. It's a red flag. Yeah, this is his quote. Quote, I think we didn't want to give people a chance to be like, what are you doing? What are you talking about? This is so quick. Are you sure? These are questions he did not want to be asked. Well said. Yeah, so they married real quick after. Being together for about six weeks. That's right. Wow. It's stupid. It's a bad idea. Very. If that's what you have to do, it's a bad idea. Two people were hit in the Pamplona bull run. What else is going on? San Diego County? One of them was a Californian. And he wasn't drinking? You know he was. He was wasted. You don't know that. You know he was drunk. No. There's no way. He could have slipped. You guys, I want to run with the bulls. No, you don't. The 22-year-old Californian was gored in the stomach of my life. A few things here, guys. A few things here. Number one, probably wasted. Number two.
Probably not the right shoes. I would have the right shoes. What kind of shoes was he wearing? You've got to have Reeboks on. The pump ones, probably. The quarter tops, right? Quarter tops. And I bet bad positioning. What? Bad positioning. What position would you like to be in the game? Way in the front. You want to be way in the front of the line. Not in front of the bulls. Okay. Yeah. You want to be behind the bulls. You want to be. Well, how are you running? You're running. You're running after him. Yeah. You're running, but you're a good half a block from where they are, but you're still adrenaline. You're not even going to see the bull. So why don't you just run around the block then? Well, because there is the risk. You feel the excitement. You still feel the excitement. But if you don't see that, isn't the whole point to see the bull and run from it? Yes. Well, to say that is to say that.
All the people that you see there that are running, that are in the front, that they're not really running with the bulls. And we know they are. They are. They're just doing it in a much more heady way. They're using their heads. Well, a total of 20 people have been injured in the first three days of the house. You know why, Sky. You know it's because they're intoxicated. And have the wrong shoes. They have the wrong shoes. And they're in the back. And they don't have a gun. Too close to the bull. A San Diego County horse has died of the West Nile virus. Yeah, this is not good. Oh, good. This is not good, my friends. I don't even know what the West Nile virus does. We've all heard of it, but what is it? What does it look like? What does it taste like? What does it smell like? What does it look like? I don't want to know what it tastes like. It looks like a Big Mac. It looks like a Big Mac? I heard it looks like a Frankfurter. Yeah, well, this horse that died was out in the East County, out in the Blossom Valley, which I guess is an area of El Cajon. And, yeah, they found the horsey on the ground and was suffering from seizures. And, yeah, not so good. The number of, because normally it's smaller animals that, you know, they find dead from West Nile. So, so far this year, 72 dead birds have been found in the county and have tested positive for West Nile.
So, you know, of course, all the stuff you hear, don't have standing water in your backyard, blah, blah, blah, stare for mosquitoes. They have an annual report of the most stolen cars in the United States. And obviously, the Escalade is number one. Or the Ford Explorer. Ford Explorer or the Escalade. The Honda Accord. Honda. Honda Civic. Batmobile. Yeah, okay. The Batmobile has got to be on there. What about the Wiener? What about Hummers? Oh, yeah. Hit. I would tell you. No way, Eddie. I can't stop that. Mike is totally wrong. Everybody else is totally right. Oh, yes. Does she have to phrase it in that way? Yeah, that's crazy. That was great. I loved the way you did that. The number one most stolen car is the 95 Civic. That's what I said. The number two most stolen car is the 91 Accord. These are old cars. The number one millionth is what Mike said. Mike's aren't even on the list. They're not? Wow. Yeah, people don't want them probably because they waste too much gas. They used to want them though.
They used to always be high up there. Well, these top four cars have been the top four on the list since 06. Wow. Yeah. It's a nice try, Mike. That was good effort. It's really good. Good effort. She's not going to give you any. She is not. Whatever you say, wrong. It's a good effort. An atheist soldier is suing the army for unconstitutional discrimination. How so? Okay, so this guy was a soldier and was deployed, did two tours, and went in being a Christian man, and then somewhere along the way became atheist. And he says that his sudden lack of faith cost him his military career and put his life at risk. He said that his life was threatened by other troops and so the military assigned him a full-time bodyguard. No! Yeah, he's filed this federal lawsuit. He says that there's a pattern of discrimination against non-Christians in the military. He said two years ago he refused to pray at his table and then was told to go sit somewhere else. One time he was nearly killed during an attack on his Humvee and one of the other soldiers asked him if he believed in Jesus now.
He doesn't want any money for the lawsuit. He just wants a guarantee of religious freedom in the military. That is so upsetting, man. Yeah, he said he was also told because he can't put his personal beliefs aside and pray with other troops that he wouldn't make a good military leader. Whoa. As a Christian, it's so upsetting to hear that stuff because you go, what are you dudes thinking? Yeah. You're not helping. You know, that's doing the exact opposite, man. That's turning people away. And then when people read that already this morning, I got an email from an atheist friend of mine. That's like, see. And I'm like, oh, boy. You know, it just it's those dudes that are doing the discriminating and doing all that stuff. Don't realize what an opposite effect they're having on the kingdom. For doing that. It's so terrible. I wish that somebody could pull them aside and say, guys, man, you got this one wrong. That's a terrible story. It's too bad. Iran test fired nine missiles, which is not concerning at all to anybody. No one is even thinking that that's a bad thing at all.
Everyone's totally stoked. They're going to call it Totally Stoked Day. No way, Jose. They've test-fired these missiles in response to what they say are threats from Israel and the United States run. That's so creepy. Let the romance begin. They're flexing their muscles. And it was not for Fourth of July? No, I did not read that anywhere. You're sure? The Village People singer is hospitalized in San Diego. What's going on? I guess he had polyps. Who are we talking about? The cowboy? Which one was he? The Indian. The Indian construction worker. Victor Willis. Weren't they all singers? I don't know. Yeah, they all sang. Didn't they all sing? It was an ensemble. Didn't the policeman die? They say this guy sung lead. Did he? I don't know.
Oh, here we go. The Indian cheese. The band's original policeman. Yeah. So he had to get some nodules removed from his vocal cords. Yeah, if I had those. He sang weed. I remember Ash had those nodules. Yeah. I did voice therapy, though. Yeah. What were those lip trills? Yeah, I did lip trills and a bunch of different stuff. The lip trill goes... Keep your lip trill loose. Yeah. Sorry. But it really worked. Thanks, Mia. Okay, wait. Easy, Mr. Ed. All right. What was the other one, Ash? How did the other one go? The other one was... Oh, gosh. Remember, it was like a... Yeah. And it has to vibrate through my nose. And then the other one was... And then it was like... There you go. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call. Me and Rob have an announcement. You guys are getting married. Congratulations. Finally. Tomorrow night, it's huge. It's the Babes in Bikini finale. Yeah, the finals. We're going to pick the top 12 girls to go in the Babes in Bikini calendar. Rob and I are going to be hosting it. Kane's Bar and Grill, 8 to 10 p.m. Tomorrow night, Chantel will be there hanging out. So come down. They've got $3 you call it. There's going to be, right after the show, there's going to be some live bands. Six Reasons, Lead Burns Red, Canobliss. Yeah, Lead Burns Red. What's up with that? Yeah. Dude, you guys remember my old roommate, Steve-O? Yes. With Rev? Yeah. That's his new band. Rev, like, dissipated or whatever. Oh. Let Burns Red is his new band. So that's pretty sick. They're going to be playing after we do our thing at Canes tomorrow. And also, for P1s who don't know where Canes is, because I don't know, I guess, like, my boyfriend wasn't sure where it was. Oh, my gosh. My boyfriend, my love, if you listen.
It's right by the roller coaster. I love you so much. It's right next to the roller coaster, Mission Beach, so we love you. No circles involved. Oh. Okay. And then he squints like, oh, man, I don't know if I should have. Oh, man, it was worth it, though. Like, you see the face, and it says, oh, it was so worth it. I was trying to hold it back. And then, oh. So sorry. I don't know. You were trying? Yeah, just, you know. It didn't sound like you tried. I really wasn't. And then I. I'm also going to be out tonight. Whoa. Oh, yeah. Check it out. From 8 o'clock till 945 down at the Stage Saloon. Look at you. It's downtown at 762 5th Ave. So if you're looking for your Mayhem Festival tickets, I'm going to have them. It's going to be an awesome show. Slipknot, all that. So I'm going to have those Mayhem Festival tickets at the Stage Saloon. I'll be there at 8. Go see them. Should be fun. Yeah, I'm missing one of the beds. One of the testimony beds. So, reload me up. 570-1053 is the phone number. So, give me a call. Mikey Show, hello. Good job for the morning to you. Oh, hello there. So, I have some important news for Eddie when he goes on vacation. Oh, God. Now, before you throw down your headphones, Eddie, it involves whales. Oh. And you can get these guys back. You can get these turkeys back. If you find...
A gray stone on the beach that looks like, you know, kind of amberish. It's well-vomitant. A pound of it costs $30,000. Is that for real? That is for real. Now, I called earlier and Bob's like, hey, I don't get it. Call back. And I didn't have pop-ups at the time. Imagine Rob hearing this guy and just being like, you just sound stupid to me, dude. I don't even know what you're talking about. He's like, call back doing the live show. Oh, that's a really good accent. During the live show. Did you say that wrong? I said, listen, during the live show, you call us back. Talk about your whale vomit. Now go to www.spike. I don't care. Hey, look at who did a good job. There we go. You had me at whale vomit. Yep. You had me at ham and eggs. Thank you. Oh, wow. Mikey Show. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. How are you? Good afternoon. How are you? I'm doing well. I had a question for Eddie really quick. Eddie, do you have your black cap on? Because it's your boy A.O. What's the rack? What's up? Hitting up and everything. Yeah, that's my boy. Come on, man. What's popping, Pappy? You know. Oh, gosh. Oh, hell. Right here. What's up, chicken? I'm sorry. Oh, my brown. Yeah.
Very. Girl, you know what's up. Hey, Ayo, what's up? Eddie, didn't Ayo want you to hook it up with Chantel and him and he wanted you guys to? Wasn't that the deal? This is my boy. This is my dog. I ain't going to put him through that. Wow. If looks could kill. She's giving you a look right now. Chantel is gorgeous inside and out. How dare you? Yeah. I am. Why do you laugh after you say that? Like, I guess I'm not. I thought that was very cute. I thought it was very cute the way that Sky just came to your defense in that way. That was nice. Oh, hell. It was very nice. Way to be there. Way to be there. So, yeah. Ayo. Yeah. Yeah, you got to ask Eddie, man. He's going to be your hookup. Oh, hell no. Anyways, like I was saying before, I was so rudely interrupted. Yeah. I was going to give you guys a little farewell speech before you take off on vacation and all that. Uh-huh. You mind if I do that? Yeah, sure. Go ahead, man. All right, cool. Right on. Number one, Mikey, first, I'd like to tell you good luck on your surgery and all of that. Thank you. Number two, Sky, do your thing. Hem it up. Wow, Rob really enjoyed that. I loved it. I'd like to tell you stay dirty over vacay. There you go. Sean, check out a lot of Banana Check, Murder, She Wrote, you know, catch up on all of that good stuff.
Five, Ashley, I'd like to tell you, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. And last but not least, Pappy, zip it up and zip it out, baby. We've been here today, and it's like a Friday. You forgot me, so we'll never be out on a day. Wow. Chantel, don't worry, because Zeth is here every day, and he forgot him, too. So, I mean, okay. You know what? Zep doesn't laugh like appropriately on the microphone. That's true. That is true. Sorry, Zep. I'm being real. I'm being real. I'm sorry, Zep. She's keeping it real, man. She's keeping it real. That's all. Have a good vacation. That spits the truth. Thank you. Thank you, Ayo. Ayo. Good looking out. Mikey Show. Hello. Hey, Mikey. This is P1 Killer. What's going on, Killer? I'm just going to tell you. I'm going to pray for you.
Oh, thank you very much. I think that's very... Thank you. And I'd like to invite the P1s out to 317 East Grand Avenue in... Pacific Beach. Escondido. Oh, Escondido. Gotcha. At the Distinction Gallery. Sky, you know that. Yeah, that's our gallery I went to. This is where I see all my favorite pieces, yes. It's an awesome art gallery. From 6 to 11. Ham go is there. What are you doing? Death wish, man. He's hiding his face. He just loves it. He's so happy. He's so happy. Come on, you get that? Instead of Van Gogh, I did Ham in there? I'm just saying, you should appreciate that on everyone. I'll draw you a picture of it. It's fantastic. What is she talking about, Skye? Do you know? I believe this Saki is going to be featured at the art gallery. Okay. Is that an artist? Killer, is that your plug? Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Thank you.
Mikey's show. Last call. Bring us home. Okay, you guys were talking about weird names earlier. My mother's name, check this out, is Benny. What? Benny? Lou. Benny Lou? Yes. And then my aunt, her name is Dolly. Wait, wait. Dolly, I mean, we know. What was that? A sheep? But why Benny? Well, my mother was named after, like, my great uncle. That's not mine. That's rough. That's rough. That's the only explanation I have. Oh, Benny. Wow. Yeah, that's tough. And then there's Quimby. And then there's Quimby. And then there's Quimby. All right, Quimby, thank you. I love you guys. I love you. I love you. Thank you very much. Soyberry wine. Today is our Friday. Oh. Happy Friday. Awesome. That's right. That's right. Surgery tomorrow and then next week, vacation. We'll be back Monday the 22nd and it should be really good. At the end of the show on Fridays, I give you my testimony and I'll be doing that a couple of days early and doing it for you today. But the idea of that is that I just tell you a little bit about my past and sort of what happened in my life.
Basically, my past is in addiction. I was addicted to alcohol and there were a lot of contributing factors to what brought me there. But I can tell you that source of what got me there was not believing in myself, low self-esteem, being insecure. And that was something that I suffered from my entire life. To a certain extent, it's still a part of my life, but I can tell you that it's nothing, nothing like it used to be. Eddie's been my best friend for 20 years, and this guy has been through the ups and the downs with me. He's seen me go through every stage of my life, and God bless that guy, man. He's been with me every step of the way. Been an amazing friend to me, and very supportive, and kind of seen me go through.
all of those different changes and uh been there no matter what no matter what the change and has accepted me no matter what those things have been and so uh i appreciate my brother he and he is man he's i don't even think of eddie like a friend he's more like family um but he remembers man when when the drinking was bad and it was a deal where i would close myself off from Eddie, from my family, from everybody. My dad called me over to the house one time, and it was the first time I remember in my dad's adult life, my adult life, that I'd ever seen my dad cry. But he said that if I continued to drink, he could not continue to be in my life. And I've said a million times, anger is hurt, sadness, and fear. And I was angry.
But I was actually hurt. But it was good. It was good. I'm glad that he did it. I left there that day, went and bought a gigantic bottle of alcohol and drank it. Because at that point, I was so addicted to alcohol that if I didn't drink, my hands would tremble. And it got to the point where I knew that if I didn't do something about it, that I was going to die. And so I asked Jesus Christ. to come into my life and to change my life. And he did. And even to this day, he still is continuing to do work in my life today. I'm going to have this surgery, and I can tell you that before, I probably would have been a lot more nervous about this thing than I am right now. And I can tell you that it's because of his presence in my life. He took all that stuff away. He's continuing to take away from me.
resentments, hurts, sadnesses, fears. He's continuing to take that out of my life. I tell you all of this stuff because I just want you to know that if you are like me and you have experienced any of this stuff or you're experiencing any of this stuff, this is what happened in my life. This is what I did that changed things in my life. In fact, it's the only thing. all kinds of things throughout my entire life to try to lose weight and I never really truly did in a real way it was always a band-aid the way that I would lose weight my whole life has always been type way except for now I've lost a pretty considerable amount of weight and it's been through prayer every time somebody asks me I just tell them it's been through prayer and so
A lot of people may be listening right now and they're like, what is up with that, man? Why does this guy do that? What's with the proselytizing? It's not what it is, man. I'll tell you what. What it is, is I'm so blessed to be doing this for a living with my best friends in the world. For me, I know in my mind that every bit of talent and ability that I have that's let me be able to do this, it doesn't belong to me. It doesn't belong to me. It belongs to him and he can take it away anytime that he wants to. He could take it away. So today I'm able to do this and I've changed and it's been through him. So I just share it with you. If you're experiencing a divorce or a breakup or a death in your family, financial hardships, you're just absolutely more lonely than you can ever imagine. People around you don't understand it.
You're going through depression. You're going through something with an eating disorder. Maybe you are doing something that is compromising your morals, like you're stripping. You're selling drugs. Something that you never thought that you would do, but that you feel right now that you have to do. Or that you're addicted to something. That you're addicted to prescription medication. Maybe you're addicted to cocaine or to alcohol. Maybe you're addicted to something and nobody knows about it. There's hope and there's help. If you go to Mikey show.com and in the keyword section, you type in the word help. We got a webpage there that's set up exclusively with resources that can help you with the different things that I just mentioned. But mostly the message that I want you to know when I tell you this thing on Friday is that message of hope and the message that Jesus Christ took all that stuff away from me. All of that bad stuff and he replaced it with a genuine and true happiness I've never known my entire life. So I play this song at the end of the show on Fridays from a band called Third Day. It's called Tunnel. Please really listen to the lyrics of the song because the lyrics are so, so cool. And we're going to take a little break and we'll be back on the 22nd. Eddie, have fun in Hawaii. Aloha. Aloha.
And Sky and Ashley and Sean and Boston Rob and Zeph and all you P1s. Oh, and by the way, I want to tell you this too. Danny asked me. We were talking to Danny about P1site.com. And while we're on the break, he's going to let people know how I'm doing and all that with the surgery. He's going to let people know how the surgery went and all that stuff and keep them updated. And so go to P1Site.com to be able to check that out. Lovely and Talented Missy's up next. We'll see you in a few. God bless.
