Mikey and the crew argued over The Dark Knight, ultimately agreeing that Heath Ledger's Joker overwhelmed the rest of the film even as Mikey disliked the plot, length, and Batman voice. Their advice bits moved from practical coaching for Jimbo's best-man toast to Eddie's comic attacks on Rex's social life and Sean's refusal to tip, while a later debate asked whether editing tattoos, freckles, or body shape out of photographs rejects the person being pictured. Mikey also challenged what he saw as a racial double standard in the reactions to Jesse Jackson, Don Imus, and Whoopi Goldberg over use of the N-word. The show's most gripping calls came from Casey, who survived a helicopter crash, Crystal, who was wounded in Brenda Spencer's Cleveland Elementary shooting, and Ryan, who stood eight feet from a murder at Extraordinary Desserts.
What happened, in order
The Dark Knight divide
Mikey said he disliked The Dark Knight because he could not follow the plot, while Eddie and the others defended the film and everyone agreed that Heath Ledger's Joker was an iconic, Oscar-worthy performance.
A surrogate calls in
Kiara revealed that she had given birth to twins as a surrogate and praised the show's argument over whether a sister was obligated to carry a baby for an infertile sibling.
Best-man speech panic
After Jimbo admitted he was terrified to toast his best friend before 250 wedding guests, Sky described coaching her anxious husband with a short speech, repeated practice, and bullet points on an index card.
Tough Love for Rex
Eddie mocked Rex for abandoning his male friends to spend all his time with his girlfriend and her friends, arguing that he needed an independent social life instead of reshaping himself around the relationship.
The tipping showdown
Eddie told a listener to complain to a manager about poor restaurant service but still leave a tip, turning the advice into a running attack on Sean's habit of withholding tips.
Hunting a rattlesnake
Mikey said Rebecca spotted a three-to-four-foot rattlesnake near their neighborhood preserve, so he went looking for it with a video camera and a pistol while the cast argued that he was more dangerous than the snake.
The host who kept going
The crew played audio of a Danish television host vomiting during a live broadcast and immediately resuming her job, horrifying Sky while impressing the others with her composure.
The N-word double standard
Mikey compared the reactions to Jesse Jackson, Don Imus, and Whoopi Goldberg, arguing that Jackson should face the same standard for using the slur and that race should not excuse conduct condemned in others.
Buried under a helicopter
Casey recounted surviving a Catalina Island helicopter crash at age 13, waking beneath the wreck with a dislocated hip, a badly twisted foot, a concussion, and jet fuel dripping onto his back.
Cleveland Elementary survivor
Crystal described being shot in the wrist at age 10 during Brenda Spencer's 1979 attack on Cleveland Elementary, where the principal and custodian were killed, and said the experience left her less trusting and wary of s
Eight feet from murder
Ryan said he was carrying food to a table at Extraordinary Desserts when a man returned with a gun, killed one diner, wounded another, looked directly at Ryan, and walked out.
Photoshopped without permission
A listener's anger over a friend erasing her tattoo sparked an argument about whether removing permanent features is insulting while retouching temporary blemishes or sweat stains can be helpful.

Welcome, everybody. I heard Rick saying this, and it's going to be a big story, I guess, throughout the rest of the morning. When did this happen? I don't know. I haven't... been able to find details anywhere on the web yet it's like so new that the news stations haven't put the story out there yet but um it's by camp pendleton i guess a big rig crashed and exploded and then caught a hillside on fire
So, you know, southbound five near Camp Pendleton is shut down and then they're diverting traffic. So it's just really bad for the morning commute in this area. But, you know, Rick's on it and he'll keep us all updated on that traffic situation. And then, you know, I'll keep you updated on the fire situation. Hopefully they'll get that under control and it, you know, it'll be put out sooner than later. What a whacked out story. That is crazy. All right. Well, let's get this thing going. Let's get started. 570-1053 is our phone number. You can give us a call at the beginning and end of every show. And that's what we're doing right now. So give us a call. We would love to talk to you. You could also text us at 35253. We would love to read your text. And if you're not a member of the Mikey Show P1 Text Army, get in on it.
That's right. All you have to do is text the word Mikey, M-I-K-E-Y, to 35253. And we'll get you all dialed in with it. It'll send you like a little message. You reply to the message and you're good to go. And you can text us all morning long. I love texting. I do. I really love texting because for me, you know, I've told you guys my feelings about safety. It's hard for me to feel safe around people. I've had this since I was a kid. Hard for me to feel safe around people. It takes me a while to get into a place where I feel safe around a person. Generally for me, I feel safer around women than I do men. But it takes me a while. Now, text messaging for me is perfect because the person's not right in front of you.
It's very easy for me to consume the text and to consume the conversation and to be a part of the conversation when it's less personal. Strange it is, right? I don't think I'm alone either because if you see statistics on text messaging, it's crazy, man. It's crazy. When I just went and did my new iPhone, I had to get unlimited text because... I'm going to text a lot. Yeah. And there's no doubt about it. I'm going to be texting a lot. So 570-105-335-253 is the text number. And let's go around the room and introduce everybody that's on the show. And then you can give us a call and we'll take some of your phone calls. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I am 38 years old. 38. Look at you. Oh, I know. How's that sound?
How does that sound, Mike? Listen, it is not what I expected. I don't know that I ever thought that I was going to be 38 years old at some point, but man, am I glad to be here. I saw The Dark Knight. Oh, fancy that. I saw The Dark Knight. Should I do my review? You guys tell me, what should I do? Should I do the review or should we go around the room? How should we do this? I don't know if you know this or not, but... I saw The Dark Knight as well. When did you see it, Eddie? When did you see it? On a whim, I went last night. Love it. Look at you guys. Awesome. You know what? I'm actually really glad because I was thinking to myself, this is going to be hard to do without Eddie seeing it. Yeah. It's going to be a lot easier to bounce things off of you and do it that way. Yeah. Okay. Well, let's do a quick introduction.
Then we'll take some phone calls. We'll get right into it. 570-1053. Anything you want. It doesn't matter. You can talk about stuff on TV. Ask us questions. Comment on the show. Anything. Ask for advice. Bounce something off us. Anything you want. 570-1053 is our request line number. We'll pick it up. And it doesn't matter what area code you're calling us from in San Diego County. If you just dial. your area code that you use, and 5701053, you'll get through to us. I'm Mikey. I'm the host of the show, 38 years old. Eddie's our producer and sports guy. He's 35. Sky is our news girl. Seven people on the Mikey show, by the way. Sky is our news girl, and she is 30 years of age. Sean does sound effects for us, and Sean is 38 as well. Ugh, man. Disappointing. Disappointing. Ashley is our assistant producer. She's rocking the bangs. Ashley is rocking the bangs, man. Awesome! She's 25 years old. Austin Robb is our phone screener, and I can see him in my camera right now, and he is, in fact, taking your calls. Making sure people have their radio turned down. During open phones, that's really what he does. He just makes sure your radio's down.
And a P1 is somebody that turns the radio down, gets to their point, and doesn't cuss. That's what a Mikey Show listener is, a P1. And then finally, there is Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates III, Junior, Esquire, M.D. Rosie. You can add Rosie to it because he is also known as Rosie. Never heard of it. So I saw The Dark Knight. I didn't like it. I didn't like it, and I'll explain a little bit about my feelings. I can't. I don't know what's going on. That's beyond crazy. What is going on? What is going on? Let me explain. Let me explain. Hang on a second. I'm shocked. I have to explain. I have to explain. I have to explain. Okay. And then you'll understand after I explain. It better be good, Mike. It'll be good. I'm just warning you. Let me explain. It'll be good in Mike terms. All right. It's not your fault. It's my fault. What does that mean? I got to say that. Well, I got to say that first. It's not your fault. It's my fault.
You see, I didn't really understand it. I didn't really understand it. I didn't understand the plot. Now, this is something that is pretty specific to your guy's friend, Mike. I consider myself above average intelligence. However, when it comes to movies, I am very below average intelligence. In fact. Me too. In fact. You're smart. I can relate to all of this, Mike. Listen, Ash, I got to tell you, I talked to, I was talking to Zeth about this the night before I went to see it. And Zeth said, I said, I'm concerned that I'm not going to understand it because I've heard a couple of P1s say it was a little complicated. And Zeth said, well, you know, keep in mind, Ashley mostly understood it. And I said to Zeth, I think she'll probably understand it more than me. Wow. And he just shrugged. He just shrugged, and I think that I'm probably right. I didn't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'll say this, and it won't give away any plot stuff. I don't get any of that stuff that happened in China. I don't understand what it was about. I don't really understand what the bad guys, what their stuff was. I don't know what their plots and their things were. I think I can tell you without giving anything major away. The Chinese dude?
He was, like, in charge of the mob's money. Yeah. And, you know, he's, like, the key player in all that dough. And so Batman had to get him in custody. Eddie, I wish that you and I could go to the movie. And I could have a TiVo remote in my hand. Right. And then, without any judgment at all, I could hit pause and ask the questions. Well, can I watch it first and then watch it with you? Yes. Okay, that's fine. Yes. Okay, and then there was this other thing that I thought, like, when this happened, my jaw dropped open. And I was thinking to myself, it's for real? Again, I don't think I'm giving anything away. Sean, you saw it, right? You did finally see it? No? Mike, I totally didn't see it. You're the worst. You are so the worst. He saw it. No, he did not see it. Myself, Eddie. Ashley, Skye, we've seen it. You guys remember the scene towards the beginning of the movie in the courtroom where the mob guy is sitting on the stand and he does this thing and the DA, who I thought looked like a gay hairstylist, the DA reacts to it. I looked at the screen and I was like, is this for real? Did that just really happen?
This may be an issue with me and movies like, you know, comic book type movies. Maybe it's a comic book type movie thing that happened right there. But whatever it is, me and that, we don't jive. The other thing that I don't jive with, Christian Bales. And probably this isn't just Christian Bale. I think I remember this when Michael Keaton was Batman. Michael Keaton. Keaton. But I think that this is just a Batman and Mike as far as a thing. understand this. I hate it. I blogged about it today. Really? I don't understand how Christopher Nolan is letting him do that.
Because he did it in Batman Begins, and I hated it then, and he did it even worse in this movie. I feel such a love for you guys right now. Well, it's annoying. I don't get why he puts the voice on it. Yeah, for some reason Michael Keaton did it, but it wasn't to that extreme. It wasn't that bad. But yeah, like Christian Bale, yeah, I said the exact same thing. He's got to maintain his secret identity. I understand that, but it's so ridiculous. Guys, I only have one other complaint. I think it's just fine. You haven't seen it, John. You haven't seen it. I only have one other complaint, and then I'm going to get to the positive stuff. Okay. My only other complaint is I felt like they really could have taken a razor blade and some editing tape to the whole movie. I didn't think that movie needed. Well, I don't think any movie in the world needs to be two and a half hours long. I agree. I kind of feel like every movie at the longest can be two hours and we're good to go. Just my personal opinion. I agree. Now, that being said, this Heath Ledger. Talk about it, man. Oh, man. If that guy can't be nominated for and win an Oscar for that performance.
Well, then what are they? What's the point of the award? Well, what's the point of the award? And then what's your measuring stick for acting? What's your measuring stick for acting? And I'm watching it. I kind of have to, I think, clarify what Sky, I think, was thinking yesterday when she told us about it. Like, I think what you kind of meant, and I could be totally wrong, is his performance wouldn't have gotten the publicity. that it got if he wouldn't have died. But what he did on screen would still get talked about because it was in freaking credible. Wasn't it? Let me tell you, if Heath Ledger's alive today, he never died, if he's alive today, I see that performance and I go... It's iconic. Oh, dude, yeah. That is a perfect word for it. It's iconic. It is... It's fascinating. It's manic. It's manic. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. You're like laughing, but like absolutely petrified. Yes. Like all at once. Yeah. You guys, this obviously won't give anything away. For me, there was the defining Heath Ledger on screen stuff for me. And that is hospital stuff. Crazy. So funny. Defining to me. Like that is the, that's the image that I get. But he is just.
Phenomenal. I mean, like, every time he's on the screen, he's chewing it up. And I feel like anybody on the screen with him, I feel bad for. I don't know why the movie's not called The Joker. Thank you. Because that's all I cared about. That's a good point. Batman is almost a third character in this movie. Right, I agree. I agree 100%. That's true. Could care less about Batman. Yeah. Is he good or what, man? Holy moly. Is he good as the Joker or what? Like all the tics and all those things that he, I mean, it's incredible. Yes. And yes. Yeah. He's good. He's really, really good. And I don't think that anybody could ever do that role. Ever. And that's the whole thing, Mike, with what you're saying is like, who could do that? Who could do that? See, and I said, I had all these problems. I had all these different problems with the movie that I didn't like. And then when we left, I said, overall, I have to like it just because of the Joker, Heath Ledger, just because of that. And now here come the instant messages and the IMs explaining to me. And listen, there's going to be some people that disagree with what I'm saying. I disagree. I loved it. I loved it. Yeah.
I mean, it was an interesting feeling coming out of it because I didn't have the same feeling I had coming out of Iron Man and the Hulk. And I think I had more fun watching those movies. And especially because those were the comics I read and seeing them come to life on screen was like an experience. With Batman, I think it was a better overall film as far as filmmaking goes. But it makes you feel uncomfortable and icky and dark. But it's still, I mean, it's rad. It was a rad movie. Yeah, I sure did love the visuals. I mean, I love the visual part of it. I thought there was some stuff, like Rebecca and I were driving home going, and so what happened to this? And what happened to that? And what was the deal with this? But Heath Ledger's so good. And the stuff that happens in there is so neat looking. Uh, you know, overall, I had to say, yeah, it was cool. It was a cool experience, but man, is it dark? Eddie's right. It is dark, dark, dark, dark, dark night. Uh, 570-1053. Give us a call beginning and end of every show. Open phones. So, uh, come on. I want to hear from you. Uh,
We have, oh man, we got a good show today. We got stuff to do today. Tons of really good, man, emails have been great. Some of the emails that we've been getting from UP1s have been really cool in terms of like issues that you got going on, situations and stuff and all that. We're also going to be doing a service to our community today. We try to do this once a week. Where we do this service for the community. It's called Tough Love with Eddie. That is incredible. That sounds great. Well, it is. No, it's not. Also iconic. Also iconic, yeah. What it is is, you know, a lot of times P1s will write Eddie and they'll ask Eddie for advice. And there's a reason that they do. They know that Eddie is going to give it to him straight.
They're tired of the runner-ups. Yeah, they don't want the runner-ups. They don't want the friend on what they want. They don't want to be verbally attacked. No, no, no. They want the... So we're going to do a little tough love with Eddie later. And it is tough love. But sometimes that's what heals us within. It has to be. Or not. We're going to do a little tone-deaf karaoke. Oh, yay! We've got a great best, you guys. Oh, wow. Every time. I'll put that out there right now. All right. Yeah, Ashley, our assistant producer, 25-year-old, blonde-haired, air-headed Ashley is going to sing. And then you're going to try to tell us, well, what is she singing? It's not easy. No. It's iconic. No, no. It's not easy. It's not easy. We've got to continue to tell you about the gas monkey. Yes. Zeph, if you can, hit the gas monkey for me. If you can. That's what I'm talking about right there. Announced it yesterday. Gas monkey is going to be the Rock 105.3 van scouring the streets of San Diego looking for the brand new P1 sticker. Inside the van, Boston Rob in a monkey outfit. Carrying a bundle of bananas.
If he sees the new Rock 105.3 P1 sticker on your car, he'll pull you over. You'll get to pick a banana from the gas monkey. And that banana will have taped to it a gas card. And the gas card's denomination will be anywhere between $25 and $250. That'll help. That's right. Gas monkey is going to begin August 4th. I hope you're ready for the gas monkey. That sticker on. Let's take some phone calls. What do you say? Let's see. P1 WordHerd, are you there? Uh-oh. Not there. Let's try line three. P1 Kierre, are you there? Yes, I am. Hi, Kierre. Can you guys hear me? Yes. Oh, good. Hi. Hi, how are you? I'm well. You guys are doing awesome this morning, too, it sounds like. Thank you. Yes, we are, I think.
Good. Well, you know, I'm just calling this morning. I am not a regular listener. My husband is. He listens to you guys every day and then proceeds to tell me about your show in the evening. Question. Question. Why are you not a regular listener? You know, I don't really know, to be honest with you. Part of it is I didn't know anything about you guys, and I usually am at work at 6.30 in the morning, and I work at a medical unit, so I don't have a week in the morning. So he's been setting it as our alarm so I get to hear your replays the last, I don't know, week or so. I wake up at five. Awesome. But I was on my way to work this morning and I heard the replay about the story of Giffy stuff yesterday. Yeah, we were talking. We got a phone call from a gal who said that she can't get kids. She asked her sister if she was a surrogate for her. Her sister agreed. And then a few weeks later, changed her. She's 22 years old. She's 22. I don't know about this. I can't get her all. And the lady that called us was real upset that her sister had that. And she sort of supported that and said, it's your obligation as a sibling to do that. And some of us did not agree with that. And it was a lively conversation. Yes, and I think that there was a little more meaning to it because I actually was a surrogate mom.
And gave birth to a set of twins two years ago, October 1st. And I had, it was funny because I had very strong reactions with guys because I didn't agree, but I did. And then I had strong reactions to your guys. Some of that was being emotional stuff, but to hit on that more towards the end of the show. And then I guess a couple, I don't know if it was a week ago or whenever you had talked about autism and the spectrum of that. We have a child also that falls on that spectrum with Asperger's. So it was just very cool for me to actually listen to a show that talks about all these great issues, offers all the size. Whether you agree with it or not, you walk away with something really valuable. And I thought that was really cool. So I get to listen to your replays in the mornings when I wake up. And if I'm lucky, maybe hear the report from my husband when I get home that night. Well, I really do appreciate what you're saying. And, you know, I agree with it. I was out there in my garden yesterday. Of course you were. Of course. And I was doing stuff in that garden, and I was thinking a lot about the show. And I was thinking about how blessed my life feels sometimes. And part of the reason that it is is because this is just my opinion. I think that God has put together seven very unique people.
And we all have these real different outlooks. And I just appreciate all of the different outlooks. Like, it doesn't matter who you are listening right now. I will bet one of us on the show, either myself, Eddie, Sky, Sean, Ashley, Rob, or Zeth, I bet that there's some of you in one of us. Because we're all so different here on the show. And we all have such varying opinions. And the thing that's really cool about it is when you hear those different opinions, you're going to hear them represented pretty good. Like I may not agree with Skye, but I'll tell you one thing. She's pretty good at telling you about, you know, where she's coming from. And I appreciate that genuinely. And so, yeah, I agree with you. I wish you would be able to listen to us more during the day. You know what I mean? Yeah, I do too. So, well, I hope that you get that part ironed out, but I am glad that you're listening. I am glad you're listening, Kiara. Thank you. Thanks a lot, you guys, and take it easy. All righty, we'll see you later. Thanks. Bye-bye. That was P1 Kiara. P1 Firespin, are you there? Yes, I am. What's going on? I just wanted to share with San Diego that I'm having a new baby boy on November 20th. I just found out yesterday. Yay!
Now, wait a minute. It's July, August, September, October, November. So your wife is five months pregnant and you just found out? Well, I knew she was pregnant. I just found out it was a boy. Oh, okay, okay, okay. That's awesome. What are you going to name him? Julian. You're going to name him Jillian? That is a different kind of name for it. That's crazy! What kind of name for it? Oh, Julian! I gotcha. Makes a lot more sense now. Well, congratulations for you and Julian, alright? Alright, brother. Thank you for the call. That's cool. Hey, check this out, you guys. I want you guys, we have to take a break. I'm going to tell you some of the cool things we're going to be doing on the show, but I want you to be thinking about this as we take a break. Do I trust all of us to not Google it? But everybody just promise you won't Google it, okay? And here's what we're going to, I want you guys to be thinking about this. Percentage of women that have thrown something at a man. Wow. You guys, this is great. Come on. Let's see a hundred.
What do you guys think? What is the percentage of women that have thrown something at a man? Tough love it is. Tough love. I'll say. So be thinking about that. Be stewing on that because we got to take a time out. And when we come back, we'll see what you guys think. And then I'll tell you. Got an email here from somebody that is just absolutely petrified. of having to give a speech at their best friend's wedding. And maybe some of us can relate to that. You know what I mean? Hey, I was. I gave a speech at Eddie's wedding. I was. And I speak for a living. So we're going to be doing that this morning. Also, got a pretty good email here, too, about how would you feel if you went to a party and there was a bunch of pictures being taken and you said, hey, I'd like a copy of those pictures. And when you get them... You've been airbrushed. Oh, no. How would that hit you? How would that hit you? So we'll talk about that. We're going to be doing tone-deaf karaoke. We've got tough love with Eddie. We've got the YouTube clip of the day coming up for you. And Jerry Seinfeld in the stand-up spotlight. The only thing that I love is the luge. The guy wears the slick suit.
This is on the bobsled run. It's not even a sled. It's just Bob. It's just a human being hanging on for their life. This is the whole sport. Oh, he pointed his toes. Oh, this guy's a tremendous athlete. Luge is the only sport I've ever seen that you could have people competing in it against their will, and it would be exactly the same. You know, if they were just grabbing people off the street, hey, hey, hey, what is this? I don't want to be in the luge. You know, you put the helmet on him, you wouldn't really hear him screaming. Just, you're in the luge, buddy. World record. I want to see that event next year, the involuntary luge. Family, this is the Mikey Show. Today is way better than yesterday. Brought to you by Wendy's. You don't want yesterday's news, you want today's. And you definitely don't want yesterday's salad. That's why Wendy's salads, now topped with warm seasoned chicken, are made fresh every day. A lot of people I know say they're scared of the dark. But it's not really the dark they're scared of. It's what they've been eating. Old hamburgers that were made around lunchtime? That's zombies rising from the crypt scary. But at Wendy's, it's not scary because everything's made fresh to order no matter how late it is. Eat way better, way later. Late night favorites from Wendy's like Baconators and Frosties are always available every night until midnight or later. And participating Wendy's. It's way better than fast food. It's Wendy's. Let me tell you, went into sleep train and he's going to get all dialed in. Yeah, I cannot wait, man. I have had the same mattress for easily 15 years. Are you serious? Yeah, 15 years. And so, you know, it's still in great shape. Shockingly, that thing is still in great shape. No, but it's time. It's time for a change. The wife, I have a very firm mattress and she hates it. Yeah. She's ready for a more softer one. Yeah. And I kind of am too. Like I've had back problems, you know, for a long time. So I'm definitely ready for a change too. So it's going to be really cool. Sky, firm mattress for you or soft mattress? Medium. Yes. Right in the middle. Yeah. Eddie likes a firm mattress. Well. You are going to be so happy when you get on that thing. Well, what's cool is that for people like us, you know, who have the different styles, they have what's called a sleep number mattress where you actually get to dial up the firmness on your side. That's cool. So it's really cool. Hey, if you've bought a mattress from Sleep Train and you really love the experience, please call us, will you? At 570-1053. But Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. The Mikey Show continues featuring Mikey. I am a fan of infomercials.
When I don't eat, I become crazy. Sky. I grew up in a family where we give toast. Sean. It really bothers me when people cannot operate technology, which I consider to be, like, normal. Boston Rob. At 24 years of age, I can't grow a beard. Nah. And Ashley. I do not have that argument. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. Folks, it's the Mikey Show. Welcome back. It is 639. City Attorney Mike Aguirre announced yesterday that he's filed a lawsuit against Countrywide Financial for predatory lending in San Diego. The Chargers release a veteran player. You guys want to know who it is? Yes. Wide receiver Eric Parker no longer on the team. Oh, no. Really? He's gone. It's a trip. I just lost my mouse. My mouse is not working.
It's a good thing I don't use the mouse for anything, right? Rarely use it. Rarely. What do you do, Shawnee, when you've got that going on? I would unplug it and then plug it back in. It's one of those wireless kind. Unplug the little dongle, Mike. Oh, dongle. Let's see if that worked. That didn't work. Oh, there we go. Oh, that just made everything better. I'm so happy. 570-1053 is a phone number. You want to give us a call? We would love to hear from you. Beginning and end of every show, we do open phones, and so we're still taking them. If you want to call us, we'd love to hear from you. Some of the things that are happening in the news, there's a lot going on out there. Sky was just talking about it. City Attorney Mike Aguirre wants to file a lawsuit against Countrywide. Yeah, he has filed a lawsuit. He did it yesterday. And what is this?
Okay, so we all know the big foreclosure problem and talk about predatory lending, you know, giving people loans that they really shouldn't get and terms that are really bad that led to foreclosure. So basically he's filed a lawsuit seeking an injunction to stop. foreclosures through Countrywide and wants to, you know, have penalties of up to $100,000 for each violation of foreclosing on somebody that the city believes was a victim of predatory lending. So they're basically saying, you know, Countrywide set people up, you know, kind of manipulated people, tricked people into getting mortgages that they really couldn't afford, and that's now why they're losing their homes. Oh, you angel. Yeah, so, Mike and Gary, standing up for all those people. Thank you. Now, before we went to break, I asked this question. What percentage of women have thrown something at a man? Oh, yeah, let me pull it. I Googled that one. You weren't supposed to Google anything. That was the whole point. Let us begin with Sky. I believe it's kind of high.
Have you partaked in something like this? No, not except for in funsies. And I don't think they're talking about... I don't think so either. I don't think they're talking about our shenanigans in the office. So I'm going to say 35%. 35%. I got to say it's higher than that. Really? Yeah. Well, the women in my life at least. I'm going to say 85%. B-Rob. 61%. 61%. Shawnee, oh boy. I also think it's pretty high. I would say 75%. Oh my gosh, you guys. Ashley. I agree with Sean and Eddie. I'm going to say 80%. You guys are nuts. Zethian Oates. 65%. Holy moly.
I thought mine was high. I was the lowest guess out of everybody. Women are crazy. You're not figuring that out. All of my friends have done it. I know. Have they really, Ashley? They've all thrown something at their guy? Cut up their clothes. Looked into their cell phone. Read the text messages. They do insane things. Women can be crazy. I had a cat thrown at me once. You deserve that. I probably did. Sky was the closest. It turns out that 40% of women have thrown something at a man. Yeah, I think so too, man. That's funny. 40% of women have thrown something at a guy. I think that they lose their marbles, you know. I think that they got to screw loose and something happens. You know, women can be very emotional. And so they pick up whatever is there because they're so upset. And whatever they're saying is not having enough impact. And it's not being responded to in the way that they would like. And so they lose it. And they pick up an Amana frost-free refrigerator. And they hurry up and come through. It's pretty heavy. It is.
That's exactly why women shouldn't be president. Wow. Amen. Wow. Right, Eddie? Really? Because guys never throw things at women. Right, yeah. Guys never get violent. Ain't like that. Totally. Yeah, never heard of that. Hey, Eddie, do you have... Eddie's got kind of a cool thing, too. Yeah. I have a list of the top text messaging lingo words. Oh, easy. Yeah. And we could test Mike to see how hip he is with the text lingo. Oh, I love it. Oh, I love it. I text a lot, but I'm the farthest thing from him. Yeah, I didn't. I knew maybe one or two of these. These are crazy. But this is what the kids do to text and to shorten the words. Okay. So you probably will get this one. This is the number one. BRB. Be right back. Yep. Yep. IBK. I don't care. Well, close. Yeah, because K is... Oh, you almost had it. I don't know. I don't know. Yeah. IDK, I don't know. I like it. I want to write them down. G2G. Got to go. Yep. Nice. Got it. BTW. Duh. By the way. Yep. IDC. Okay, ID as in dog? Yeah. IDC. I don't care. Yeah, you said it already. Yeah.
NP. No problem. Yep. Now, these last two, no chance. JP. That's it? JP? Yeah. Just playing. Holy cow. How'd you know? I don't know. I'm using, I'm using, I'm imagining in my head that somebody put JP and what would I make of that? Wow. I did not know that one. I don't know it. I'm just trying to figure it out. Yeah. Wow. And the last one, T-O-Y. We'll see. I do. We'll see. Okay. Thinking of you? Correct. Wow, you're hip, bro. You're way hip. You only got one wrong. Well, here's the deal. I do get texts sometimes from people and I don't understand them. You missed a lot of good ones, Eddie. Oh, you got more? That was just the top ones. I am constantly using T.
H-X for thanks. O-M-G for oh my gosh. LOL. T-T-Y-L. Talk to you later. I think those are a lot of, like, I am words, too. Well, I used them in text. Oh, good. Well. I wonder if we missed any. I wonder if we missed any. Those are good, man. Yeah. Our society really likes to shorten things up and get to it. W-T-F. Yeah, we are late. We didn't need to throw that one out. I think everybody. Went on piss. Yeah. I wonder who of us, who are the seven of us, texts the most. Probably Rob, right? That's a far out question. I don't know. Ashley does a lot. Seth does a lot. Definitely not me. I'm the least on the show. Do you even use your cell phone? Very rarely. Sean, do you text message? I probably do it about five times a year. Oh, wow. That's pretty. And it's usually like if I have to send one of you guys something like.
Just really quickly. But I don't text anyone in my normal life. You and your wife do not text, huh? We do not text, no. The new iPhone has a feature called Push. And what this is, is if I am looking at the calendar on my phone and I type a new thing in on my calendar, it will push it to all of my other computers. That is cool. That's great. So when I come home, And I've made an appointment. Hey, you got a doctor's appointment. Now it appears on my home computer, my laptop, everything like that. It also has something called push email. So if I if one of you guys writes me an email, as soon as you click send, it's pushed to my phone immediately and I get it right away. Another great one. Push contacts. I meet somebody. I put their information in my cell phone and it is immediately pushed.
to all the contacts in my computers. So now my computers are all updated with it. But I'm trying to use this feature and I was going through the instructions to get it working and it has temporarily, because I know I can get them back, but it's temporarily erased all the contacts in my phone. Oh no. And so yesterday I was getting text messages from people and instead of showing their name, it was just showing a phone number. And I realized, I don't know. anyone's phone number. Nope. Not anymore. You guys either, right? You guys have them all written down somewhere. See, I did that once. I was like, you know what? If I were to ever lose my phone or something were to happen to my phone, I wouldn't know anybody's number. So I went through and wrote every number down that's in my cell phone. It's like four numbers. It's really not that big of a deal. Boo, Michelle, and Eddie.
That's it. Well, the thing is, is that, you know, we get so used to going into our cell phone and just hitting the button for our mom or our dad or our friends or whatever. We don't know what their phone number is. Nope. You know, if we were in, you know, if we went to jail and got our one phone call, I wouldn't know what to tell anybody. Right. Yeah. Speed dial four, please. Yeah. I don't know anybody's phone number. We got to take a time out. When we come back, I'm going to read you this email. This person that has a fear of public speaking, they got to speak at their best friend's wedding, tripped out, want to take your phone calls on it. Our phone number here is 570-1053. You just put the, you know, you say HAM. Everybody knows exactly what. I'm a big fan of HAM. I want to read you this email. I want to get your take on it, 5701053. What are your thoughts on this? Maybe you've been there. Maybe you have experienced this yourself one way or the other. And I want to talk to you guys here in the studio, see what you think. Mikey, I'm freaking out right now. I was asked by my best friend's best man about a year ago to be his best man about a year ago. His wedding is finally here this weekend, and I'm terrified to give the speech. I hate public speaking.
And I have to give a speech in front of 250 people. Oh, my God. That's crazy. That's no joke. It has kept me awake at night for a week. I am sweating just writing this. Now, this is not Ashley writing this. Am I correct? Oh, no. Mike, other people sweat. Okay, she's not the only one who sweats. I don't have a fear of speaking, please. Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay. Mikey, I know I'm going to blow it for my buddy. This sucks. Do you guys have any advice? I know you talk in front of people all the time. I don't know what I'm going to do. That's P1 Jimbo. Sacking himself out already. That's the truth. Listen, my advice for you would be to stress out about it. Definitely freak out a little bit. Don't chill. Get drunk, bro. No, again, bad advice. Again, bad advice. Come on. I just went through this this weekend, actually. Did you speak, Skye? No. The Bunny Boo, who has been known to have a bit of social anxiety on top of pretty much everybody's fear, most people's fear of public speaking. It was his brother's wedding reception this past weekend. Right. And it was a very casual type of gathering. And so my husband didn't really think he was going to have to give a toast.
You know, he just thought, oh, and then we kept, no, you're like the best man type of guy. You need to give a toast. And immediately. Was he the best man or was he best man? Well, it was weird because it was like a garden reception, you know, reenactment because they had eloped of the wedding. And so. He was kind of the best man. You know, he stood up there by his brother, but nobody ever used the word best man. So I guess he thought that he didn't have to give a toast, but we all informed him he was wrong. And his first reaction was anger. Like, he was angry. He was upset and angry. Fear, fear. Yeah, which is, exactly, Mike, exactly. And then it turned into anxiety. He actually went kind of pale. Oh, God! Then he started telling everyone that Skye does the speaking for our family. So could Skye do the toast on his behalf? And everyone said no. So I had to coach him and give him tips and help work him through it. Oh, man. What did you tell him? Well, first of all, since I do all the correspondence for our family, I wrote his speech for him. Oh, my goodness.
That's awful. Well, wait a minute. Now, how did you do that if it's his friend? It's his brother. It's his brother. His brother, yeah. How did you do that if it's his brother? Because you know his brother well enough to kind of know where he feels about the brother. Oh, yeah, yeah. I know his feelings. A speech like that should be from the heart. It was. It was from Sky's heart. It was from my heart. And then I gave it to him for his approval if he wanted to change anything. And he loved it. He thought it was perfect. So then he was like, and so I told him, keep this in your pocket. take it out once an hour and read it. This was like two days beforehand. Just take it out once an hour and read over it, put it back in your pocket, go about your business. And how was it? Was it on a big piece of paper? Was it on little cards? It was on a big piece of paper. It was on the back of some form about like Pizza Hut or something. Okay, well. So it's handwritten, handwritten. Yeah, handwritten. Hamwritten if we're being really honest. So anyway.
Skye, how long would you say it was? Not very long, because that was one of his requirements. It cannot be long. Because he was so freaking out. I had no idea how scared of public speaking he was. He was freaking out. Are we talking a minute? No, I'd probably say maybe... two minutes, a minute and a half, two minutes. So I told him, keep it in the pocket, take it out, read it every hour for the next two days, put it back in your pocket. And then every time I would tell him that, he goes, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter because as soon as I get up there, I'm going to be like an amnesia patient. I'm not even going to remember my name and blah, blah, blah, blah. So what I ended up doing is taking a three by five card and writing the like bullet points of it. You know, so it's not like... That's a good idea. Yeah, so it's not like he's up there reading, but he knows the bullet point, and he can, like, improv on each bullet point. Sure. And he did a stellar job. I was so proud of him. He was so freaked out, he started making me freak out, you know? But I decided to have one drink before, just to calm the nerves. Just one? Just one, though. Not 80 like he wanted. Just one. Sweep every wine!
It really tripped me out how many people have such a huge fear. Like, they would rather die than have to speak in public. 5701053. You ever had to do this? Yeah. Have you, you know, given advice to people on it? When I spoke at Eddie's wedding, I was scared to death. Really? Yeah, man. Good job. Well, I want to get it right, you know, and I had three by five cards and everything. And, you know, in the email that we got written here, you know, the last line is here is I know you talk in front of people all the time. That's the deal. You know, it's easy for me behind this microphone. I feel I've been doing this for 20 years, but I have not done public speaking. And so public speaking can be very it's a very different thing. Speaking when the people are looking right back at you. Yeah. But but if you. Ashley does, man. She does. She has a fear of not speaking. That's right. Dude, Mike, at my wedding, or not my wedding, my brother's wedding, his best man, who was his roommate from college, came up to me and was like, so big radio personality. You're going to give a toast? And I'm like, I wasn't planning on it. He's like, oh, come on. You have to. You're the big radio personality. You got to give a toast. So I was like, all right, fine, whatever. I'll give a toast. And I mean, I just got up there all willy nilly and just threw out the toast.
Wham, bam, thank you, ma'am. I mean, it couldn't have gotten better. I loved it. Some people really do love it. If it's up to me, I'm good. I will, in a public setting, I'm good. However, if I were to give advice to somebody, I would say that what Sky did is pretty good. Bullet points are good. You know, because it doesn't force you into having to. Get it. Perfect. Yeah. My mom read straight off of a piece of paper. Got up to give her toast at my brother's wedding and just read because she was so scared. She was shaking and her voice was quivering the entire time. That's the worst when somebody's voice starts to quiver. You know? And she just read. She just read off the paper. There you go. Let's take some phone calls. We're getting a bunch of phone calls right now. 570-1053 is the number.
And this is P1 Storyteller. Storyteller, are you there? Yes, sir. This is advice of what not to do. I had a friend who was giving a speech at a wedding, and he started off saying, of all the women that you've had sex with, this is by far the greatest of all of them. Yeah, you probably don't want to say that. That's probably not a good idea. At all. It is an icebreaker, but... Yeah, some people say stupid stuff during speeches. His grandma almost picked something up and threw it at the guy. Yeah, she was amongst the 40% of grandmas that do that. All right, dude. Hey, I appreciate the phone call. P1 Drina, are you there? Hello? Yeah, go ahead, Drina. Hi, Mikey. So I was calling because I have a recommendation for everyone. I think that everyone at some point in their life should take a public speaking class because it really does help. Yeah. What kind of have you ever done that? Yeah, actually, a few years ago, I took one at Grossmont College. At first, it seemed like a little scary, but I think it's better to speak in public when you know how to do it.
I guess. And what are they, Drina, give me a couple of bullet points on that course. What kind of stuff do they tell you? Well, they teach you to outline the speech in a certain format, like before you even go up and perform. And then you break the outline into certain bullet points, just like Sky said, onto little note cards. And you never want to memorize the speech. And then you just have the bullet. points on the note cards to remind you the general idea of what you should speak about. There you go. I took the same class. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. How long is that course? I took it in just a regular semester. So what is that? 16 weeks? Oh, wow. That's crazy. You could take it. Yeah. Well, I know like because Cal State San Marcos is, you know, like a newer Cal State and they. They have this newer program that they eventually want to implement at all the Cal State schools. And one of the required courses as one of your basic courses is public speaking. Oh, really? Yeah, it's required. They really want people to know how to public speak. It's required in my major, too. Cricket Wireless. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Well, the major story this morning has been this bad big rig that flipped over and caught on fire. Exploded here, South 5, about a mile past Las Pulgas to that stretch of Camp Pendleton. They've got the far left lane open now. So traffic is squeezing through. And now it looks as though they're actually letting traffic onto Camp Pendleton at Las Pulgas to take you down here. Probably escorted through to Camp Pendleton.
and get you back on the freeway. But that's a long stretch before it actually comes back on the 5. So just take your chances with that. But in the meantime, traffic's still backed up on South 5 from the checkpoint at San Onofre. The Border Patrol's checkpoint at the scales all the way down. Northbound traffic's not affected anymore. That's moving right along. You're still being advised, so avoid that stretch. Here in the city, you've got the usual backup on the South 15 coming out of Escondido at the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. Reduced speeds again through Rancho Bernardo. East County's looking good for you. 5-8-5 northbound, also up to speed into the city, looking fine. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Mikey's show continues featuring Mikey. A lot of my issues stem from my relationship with my mother. Eddie. A wee bit competitive. Sky. I own a spaceship. Oh, does that mean it's true? Tech Club. Sean. Mikey's show's on Rock 5.3. Tell me about a hen. It's 719. Okay, Mike, don't get upset, but an environmental group has asked the San Diego City Council to consider banning plastic bags. Sky already? Sky said this was going to happen, and it's happening. I mean, 24 hours ago. I mean, come on. One of the big stories at the NFL draft was the drafting of Army's Caleb Campbell by Detroit. Now the Army says he cannot play and has to serve. What? Yeah. No way. I guess it was a policy that...
If you were in these kind of sport things that you could become an Army recruiter and play, well, now I guess there's a new rule that says, no, you're serving, buddy. So his dream of playing in the NFL is not happening. Oh, my. They ran these huge stories on this guy all during the draft, too, and it's unbelievable. Oh, my God. Is he a really good player? No, he was a seventh-round pick. I mean, it wasn't like he probably wouldn't even have made the team, but still, you know, they were like. I guess he's served already. They just ran all these stories about this kid. It's just too bad. That's too bad, man. Welcome back to the show. Our phone number here is 570-1053. You should always have it. Our text number is 35253. I think that it is time for us to do something called Tough Love with Eddie. Usually one of my on the show. This is the opportunity for Eddie to sort of reach out to the community of San Diego and heal them. Heal them from their ills, so to speak. You see, a lot of times when you've got something going on in your life, you want to reach out to somebody and ask for advice. But as you know, some people just want to tell you what they think you want to hear. Right. Placation, Mike. That's right. And that's not good for you. No. That's not going to get you anywhere. There's more harm than good, Mike. That's right. What you need.
Go ahead, Sean. I was just going to say, it's funny because it's like every time this segment airs, an angel gets its wings. That is true. I don't. Did you say that? I did hear that. Well, let's go to our first letter. I think that this is a great way to start off. Our first letter reads, Dear Eddie, trip out on this, bro. I've been dating this girl named Devin. for about seven months, and I'm pretty sprung on this girl. I barely hang out with my guy friends anymore, which I know bugs them. The thing is, I like hanging out way more with my girlfriend and her friends than I do like hanging out with my guy friends. I know who he's writing. I just worry. I'm scared. I just worry that my girlfriend doesn't like it. I mean...
Is that a part of being in love or does she secretly wish that I hung out with my guy friends more? I just want to know if you've ever been through this and what the deal is. It's P1 Rex in La Mesa. Eddie? Rex in the city. Now let me ask you a question. Where did you girls have brunch at Fashion Valley? I mean, maybe I'll grab a smoothie and meet you guys. Get out! Gotta hear you, Froot Loops. There we go. I mean, who are these guys? I mean, where's the men anymore, Skye? Still a man. You see what all that liberal global warming stuff is doing with the dudes? It's true. It's making them have mixed green salads and white wine with their girlfriend and her friends. It's true. Ugh, brutal. Hey, Rex, here's my advice.
Grow a pair. Take off the panties and repeat after me. My name is Rex. I am a dude. I am not a chick. I do not want to hang out with chicks and put cucumbers on my eyes at the spa and eat little sandwiches with a white towel on my head. I want to chase tail. Not the early bird sale at Nordstrom. Of guy parts, not fallopian tubes. Not the A-team, not the Prince of Tides. Play some poker. If you're not careful, you're going to turn into Mikey or B-Rob. Rob, it starts with the wine tasting and then this category. That's the manliest wine tasting you've ever seen. It ends with you shopping for a man purse. No offense, Mikey. Some taken. All right, here's my advice again. Run it by all your girlfriends and you guys talk it over pomegranate salads, all right? Great. Wow. I am whipped and I love it. There it is. Not now. That's what happens. Yeah.
You see? Nobody wants that. I think I understand. It's out of context. Oh, man. Our next letter reads. Perfectly. That was awesome. Our next letter reads, Dear Eddie, My buddy and I were out to dinner the other night. I have to admit, the service was not great. Well, we both listened to the show, and my buddy decides to pull a Sean and not tip the waiter. Is that in quotes? It is. He decided to pull a Sean. What is that? And not tip the waiter. Oh, you son of a... We got into this... Sean? Don't. We got into this huge shouting match later. And now we're totally pissed at each other. Dude, am I in the wrong here? Help me out, Oracle. That signed P1 Tipper from Oceanside. Eddie? Dear tipple bypass. No. Get it? Tipple bypass. Tipple bypass. Get it? Triple bypass. Well, here's the deal. Most normal people tip no matter what level of service. That is true. Unless you have a severe tipping disorder like Shawnee O'Boy. Nope.
That is true. Now, if there is a problem with the service, you can definitely let the manager know. But don't be the world's biggest jerk, a.k.a. Sean. And either don't tip at all or leave something idiotic like a penny or a nickel and try to make some ridiculous point that no one will get anyway. Yeah, that is right. That is right. How are you holding up, Sean? Tipping isn't a platform to start a social revolution, okay? It's only a tip. Thank you. Leave it and move on. Thank you. Don't sit there thinking you're handing down some sort of vigilante street justice. That's the truth. I mean, it's been proven that people who tip as poorly as Sean are just trying to overcompensate for body parts. that have long since withered away, dried up, and fallen off. There it is. It's been said. It's proven. It's researched. I didn't know that about you, Sean. I guess now we know. Learn something new every day. Now, if you don't want to leave a tip because you think you've had substandard service, go right ahead. Just keep in mind that you're doing exactly what Sean does, and in a way, he would win. And it's my medical opinion that makes him...
and would make you a loser. Thank you. Well, you are a doctor. Now, medically speaking, diagnosis, loserism. Thank you. From a doctor. Thank you. All tough love. Put it on the board. Figure it out. That's great advice. Yeah. That was real advice. The sky's getting it. Yeah, that's right. The sky's in. Our next letter reads. Bring it home, man. Dear Eddie. I've heard you mention that you laugh at people when they cry. I've heard you mention this a few times, and I can relate. My girlfriend gets the ugliest face when she cries. And I can't help but laugh. Well, last night she started crying right in the middle of a big fight, and I couldn't help but giggle. Oh, no. This is bad.
She wanted to know what was so funny, so I had to tell her. Are you crazy? Now she's not speaking to me. Please, Oracle. How do you not laugh at ugly criers in the moment? That's P1 Giffen Alpine. Eddie? Dear... Oh, hang on. Ashley just IM me this. Terry Crivo. So your gal suffers from the old ugly face cry syndrome. Okay, this is rough. Now, there is nothing funnier than a chick in horrible pain that makes that joker face. I'm telling you what. Ashley suffers from this. And I love it. I mean, sometimes when I'm feeling blue, I'll yell at Ashley just to cheer myself up. I mean, once that grimace comes over her face, it's like a warm shower. I mean, the laughter just never ends. I mean, you kind of got to see it. It's great.
Great. I mean, it's like Heath Ledger. Now. Well, here's the deal. Ugly criers are a gift. Now, when they let loose, I mean, you can't hold it in. It's like holding in a fart. I mean, you have to let it out. It's for your own good. It does more harm than damage. It really does. Come on. Now, next time she starts the ball, have a mirror handy. Oh, wow. Okay? This is bad. Once she sees her face looking like the melted guy from the Raiders of the Lost Ark, she's going to laugh too, Sky. I doubt you will. Then the sadness is over and problem solved. No, I doubt you will. I don't know that she will. She'll probably cut you with that mirror. I don't know that she will. That's probably what will happen. Have you seen Ashley? Stop it. All right. It was gorgeous. I mean, Sky.
Can you hear it coming up Sports Arena Boulevard? Oh, there it is. It's the sound of healing. You're welcome, San Diego. The Mike Show Show. I listen six days a week. You guys are awesome. Appreciate it, bro. Thank you. I'm a P1 because of my girlfriend, Lynn, who turned me on the station. Now we got you guys on every morning and stuff like that. Home of the P1s and stuff like that. Rock 105.3. Decaturite presents Bad Habit Confessions. Hello. My name is Luis. And I'm here to confess a really bad habit. Hang on. Hello? Hey, what's going on? Okay, I'll talk to you soon. Where a big rig flipped over, caught fire, exploded, all that kind of drama. And now they've still got mostly it's blocked except for the far left lane. So they're letting traffic squeeze through there. But traffic's heavily backed up still from the Border Patrol checkpoint at the Scales and San Onofre on down. You're still being advised to avoid that area. The South 15 now coming out of Temecula. There's an accident at Temecula Parkway blocking the left lane. And that's got you backed up from Rancho, California. Once you get past that into the city, you've got slow traffic here out of Escondido off the 78th of your Rancho Parkway. Some reduce speeds again through Rancho Bernardo and Carmel Mountain Ranch. Coming up out of the South Bay boat, the 5805 northbound bunched up a little bit through National City. 805 slows towards Imperial Avenue. And then again out of Kearney Mason now, heading up over the 52. I'm McLaurin's on Rock 105.3. So Eddie is now on the sleep train. Yes, I am. I got aboard. And it's because you just got a new house. Eddie just bought a new house. And he's putting some beds in, furnishing the place. Yeah, I heard you talking about it for quite a while. And I made the choice to go into Sleep Train. And it was a great choice because, you know, you really, their selection is awesome. You know, you can really, really improve the way you sleep.
Did you decide to go with that sleep number or you went with something different? No, I went with the Sealy, which is the number one best-selling mattress in America, which I found out there at Sleep Train. I'm very knowledgeable. It has the pillow top on top, but yet it's still pretty firm. Yeah. So you get both. going there. That's awesome. So it was really cool. I can't wait. It's being delivered tomorrow and get to sleep on it for the first time tomorrow. It's so cool, man. Looking forward to it. I'm telling you, go in there. If you go in there before two o'clock, they'll deliver the same day. Sleep Train is your ticket to a better night's sleep. The Mikey Show continues with Mikey. I'm really, really impatient. Eddie. I like to think of myself as particular. Sky. As we all know, like a deal. Sean. I don't like any of the major sports. Boston Rob. Bostonians are tight-knit people. And Ashley. Well, I'm actually, like, awake. Mikey Show's on. Five-three. Back to you, Mikey. It is the Mikey Show. It is 737. Sienna Miller has filed a lawsuit against several tabloids for printing topless pictures of her with her married boyfriend. Ooh, well, the Braves lose two last night. Both Chipper Jones and Tim Hudson go out with injuries. Anybody find it interesting that Sienna Miller...
has got a boyfriend that's married and she was in a relationship with Jude Law who cheated. There's a strange parallel. Yes, a little irony there, Mike. There's some irony there. Like, who are you choosing, lady? After these pictures hit the tabloids, the guy filed for separation from his wife. Now that she was in the loop. That happens. I think The cat came meowing out of the bag. Oh, wow. Got a text message here that says, hey, Mikey, whatever happened with the rattlesnake yesterday? Oh, yeah. And this was towards the end of the show. A lot of people may have missed this. My wife went on a walk in the neighborhood, and there's a nature preserve by where we live. And she saw about a three or four inch rattlesnake. And I went back there armed with. Wait, Jimmy, you mean foot. Three or four foot. Yeah. Three or four foot. What'd I say? Inch. Yeah, three to four foot. Can you imagine? That's so scary. Yeah, three to four inch snake is not that scary. No, three to four. Rob knows all about that. Wow. Wow, Rob just gave a look. Rob just threw his hands up like, why me? I'm not even doing anything over here. I didn't do anything. I'm on the phone. Oh, my gosh. Wow.
Oh, my gosh. So I grabbed my Flip Minnow, which is a, that's about the size of an iPod. And it's a video camera that takes digital video for up to an hour. And I went up there armed with a pistol and that. A pistol? What? Yeah. You can't be walking around the streets with that. Can you? Listen, all I'm saying is that, you know, I didn't know what might happen. I wanted to play it safe. Oh, God. So dramatic. Oh, I love that. What a visual, huh? I just want to be safe, Skye. What's more dangerous? A rattlesnake sitting there sunning itself or Mike walking around the streets with a pistol? That's great. I guess that could be highly debated. You're a nut. I am. Wow, that's funny.
Oh, man, the snake, I guess, went back into the preserve or whatever. Yeah, and I was really bummed, man. I circle. I was searching, man. I was searching. I couldn't find it. Lifting up rocks. Yeah, I know it. And you guys heard that Rebecca said that some woman came out of her house and was going to go get a shovel and try to ease it back or whatever, which I thought was a goofiest idea. But this woman was a firefighter. I don't know if she knew anything about snakes, but by the time I got back, it was gone. Dang. Bummer, huh? Big time bummer. That would have been a rad video. Oh, dude, I would have taken that video, and that would have been a cool video, but who knows? We may have another opportunity, because those things are going crazy right now. Oh, let's hope. Text message. Mikey, love your show. Just moved here two months ago, and I've only tuned into this one station and the Mikey Morning Show. Keep the laughs coming. That's P1 Cali Love Big C. There it is. So, 35253. That is our text number. Our phone number, 570-1053. And we would love to hear from you either via text or you can call us at any time. Let's see. This is audio of a fan waiting for Comic-Con. Cut 30.
I got here just before 2.30 a.m. It was pretty quiet for the first couple hours. I was just chilling here with my friend here. He got here at like 1 o'clock. So I'm actually number two. But it was very quiet. I got to go after that He-Man figure right away as soon as I can. They're bringing back He-Man classics line in a couple months. So this is the inaugural figure. I got to get my hands on it. So, you know, it's He-Man all the way. It's He-Man all the way. How do you like that? Greetings. Greetings. Even the nerds are embarrassed by that. I'm telling you, right?
So Comic Con officially starts today and goes through Sunday. All the tickets are sold out. So your only way in is either to win them here on the mic show or to get them from a scalper. And they're expecting a total of about 125,000 people. Oh, my God. My boyfriend's going. Really? Oh, my God. My boyfriend. He's my super man. He's my super geek. That's right. Because he's totally into that stuff. Well, listen, speaking of geeks, listen, front page of the San Diego Union Tribune today. Front page. Hollywood and Lines. Comic-Con International, the 39th annual Pop Culture Fest, swung open its doors to the Kingdom of Geek last night. Wow. Fans with four-day passes to the sold-out event were admitted to preview night. And they wasted little time lining up for freebies. The massive celebration of all things sci-fi, fantasy, and comic related is expected to attract, like Sky said, 125,000 people to the San Diego Convention Center by the time it ends on Sunday. Wow. That is so gnarly. I mean, I'd like video of it. I'd like to see. I don't know that I want to go. It's an experience, man. Yeah. It's crazy. You're not going to make it?
I'm going to try to. Like, I don't know. It's going to be really tough for me this weekend with all the stuff I got going on. Well, Mark really wants you to go with him tomorrow. It's a Star Wars day and he's going around 2 p.m. and he really wants you to go with him. What's different on Star Wars day? More things going on in the ballrooms that have to do with Star Wars? Everything, probably. They always have these little side tables where they have different... sci-fi and pop culture people, like guys that were in random movies and stuff, characters and stuff like that, and you can meet them and stuff like that, like the fourth Klingon in the Star Wars movie, and you can go get your picture taken with them and all that stuff. So they'll probably have a lot of random characters from the Star Wars movies and stuff like that there that you can get autographs from and stuff like that. P1s, I think that you will be very happy to hear that tomorrow you will be hearing on this radio program What you doing at Comic-Con? We are sending Boss and Rob to Comic-Con. And instead of what you're doing at the courthouse where we have him standing out in front of the San Diego County Courthouse asking people what you're doing at the courthouse, we're going to be asking them the same thing. Only regard to Comic-Con. Awesome! There are some characters out there, man. It's funny. And people that don't break character. They'll get dressed up and they will not break character.
I will eventually do this. You have to. I don't know when. You have to. I have to, man. I got to check this out at some point. Zeth, get your finger on the YouTube clip of the day. It's an oldie but a goodie. I think everyone is really going to enjoy this today. Hit it. Now it's time for the YouTube clip of the day. Now, when I say an oldie but a goodie, what I mean is that if you are... on those mass emails where you just get tons of videos sent to you. Some of us are, some of us aren't. What I mean by that is, I am, Eddie is, my mom, my dad, they're not. They just don't usually get a bunch of stuff sent to them. But if you're the type that does, then we will present this to you. If you're the type that isn't, well, I hope that you have a very strong stomach. This is an oldie but a goodie, but it is... A little tough to listen to. Compelling? Yes. Disgusting? Yes. Easy to listen to? Not exactly. It was on Dutch television. It was a woman TV host. I guess you can say that other countries are different than the United States where...
I guess when something happens on television this drastic in the United States, everything would come to a halt. We would go to immediate commercial break. And, man, I don't know. If it was a taped broadcast, it would never, ever, ever, ever, ever make it to air. But if it were a live broadcast, everything would be done. Apologies would be made. But in Deutschland. Maybe not. It's must-see TV. It's must-see TV. What you're about to hear is a Danish TV host gets sick on live television. It's a dialing for dollars type of show. And incredibly, she just goes right back to work. Cut 31. You guys. I've heard that a dozen times. It never ceases to drop my jaw. Sky, what are your thoughts on that? My thoughts are I don't enjoy that. You don't enjoy it? Did you hear the sound it made when it hit the floor? That's probably the part I enjoy the least. I say no thank you. I gotta be honest. I don't enjoy it either. But I can't stop listening to it.
It's incredible. The video is even more crazy. Oh, I couldn't handle that. It's right there. Check it out. I will not. You can't take your eyes or your ears off of it. Hey, that's a pro. Yeah. The fact that she was able to do that. Yeah, Katie Couric couldn't do it. No way. No way, dude. How did you guys like, I mean, not only was she able to go on. But she was able to give it a good old whoo. That's my favorite part. As if to say, hey guys, what a good one. Yeah, that was a good one. That was a good one. And I'm ready to trudge forward. Wow. Strap on my boots and keep on going. Yeah, that is a tough one. No doubt about it. Holy moly.
You guys know who the rapper Nas is? Of course. Nas. Nas. Nas. Is that how you say it? Yeah. He was speaking to some supporters about protesting Fox News for their racist coverage of Barack Obama. You guys heard this? No. Nas goes after Fox News. Cut one. We're here for a great day. We're here to make a stand. I thank you all for coming out here today. I'm here to stand with thecolorofchange.org. Over 600,000 people of every color across the country are demanding that Fox stop their racist attacks on the Obama family and on black Americans. We already know that Fox is not a news network. They are a propaganda machine. But their racist attacks have gone way too far. Calling Michelle Obama Barack's baby mama. Tell me, is that acceptable? Is that racist? A lynching party. Do you know what that means? A lynching party for Michelle Obama might be legit. Is that acceptable? Now, by the way, my brother Mark, I have not heard this calling Michelle Obama Barack's baby's mama.
Oh, yeah. It was actually like a graphic they put on the screen. No way. They put like a description of who somebody is and like text on the screen. See, I need context. I need context. See, because what I was telling my brother, this is what I was telling Mark. I said, listen, I said, he didn't know what TV show this was on. He didn't know what this happened on on Fox. I said, but you've got to understand, Mark, TV's not what it used to be. I said, you know, you're thinking. When you think of news shows, you're thinking Walter Cronkite. You're thinking a serious business. That's not what it's like anymore. That's not what the formats of these shows are like anymore. Now they're round tables. They're all about kind of being sensational. That's one part of it. The other part of it is that it's supposed to be like a fireside chat. You're sitting at a coffee shop with a bunch of your friends and you're just talking. And that's what it's supposed to be. That's what the... overall feeling is supposed to be because that makes people want to watch it instead of the hardcore sort of journalistic news kind of deal. My brother didn't care. He was completely out on it. Thought it was just absolutely deplorable that anybody would ever refer to Michelle Obama as Barack's baby's mama. There's quite a few incidences of stuff like this with Fox News and Barack Obama.
Stephen Colbert had Nas on and was asking him about some of this stuff. Here he is asking him about his gun conviction. Cut three. I think O'Reilly's afraid of me. Oh, really? Yeah. He said that you had a criminal gun possession. Is that true? That's very true. How long ago was that? I was about 17, 18 years old. Some things cannot be forgiven, sir. No. Hey, but you know what I wanted to know? How did the guns wind up in my neighborhood? Guns that said made in Israel, made in Austria. How did they wind up in my neighborhood? It's called the free market, sir. Supply and demand. You must have wanted one. Well, we need a show on that. What is his point there? Does anybody want to take a stab at what Nas' point was there? Yeah. I mean, I think you guys correct me if I'm wrong. I think what he's saying is, I think what he's saying is, man. These corrupt Republican politicians are allowing these guns into the country. Yeah, I would say so. A Democrat would never allow that. Right. Thank you. A liberal Democrat would never, ever allow something like that to happen because unlike Republicans, liberal Democrats actually care about human life. Yeah, we value it. Right. You guys value it. We're for gun control.
That's right. Us Republicans, what we want is we want to just see people. I want to know when that arrest was because it was probably during the Clinton administration. That's probably true. I bet you a hundred billion. That's probably exactly what had happened. He was also asked about wanting to use the N-word for the title of his latest album, Cut 4. You got a new album. It's untitled. I understand you wanted a title, but you couldn't get the title you wanted. Why couldn't you get the title you wanted? I mean, the title scares people. The title is a word that has a horrific origination. It has a history to it that is terrible, but it's a word that's around. It's a word that's in the street. It's a word to use. I certainly don't want to say the word. Thank you. You know what? I'll just say it backwards. Reagan. Reagan. There's nothing wrong with Reagan. Reagan, please. Oh, boy. Wow. Did you guys hear about the
controversy with Elizabeth Hasselbeck crying on The View a week or two weeks ago or whatever it was. You guys hear about that? We were on vacation when this happened. Jesse Jackson used the N-word. Did you guys hear about this? That's crazy! Jesse Jackson was on a Fox TV show and they went to commercial. And the microphones were on while they were in commercial. And Jesse Jackson is sitting next to this black dude. And they're talking about Barack Obama. And Jesse Jackson drops the N-word. Now, where is the calling for Jesse Jackson's head on that one? Thank you. Where is that? I'm not hearing it. Who's the guy that's always doing the, when Imus does something, he's always the Reverend Al Sharpton. Where is Al Sharpton saying what a monster Jesse Jackson is? Great point. You're not hearing that too much. Well, anyway, they were talking about this on The View. And if we can, I'm sure, Sean, if you can, we have to take a time out. But if you can, see if you can find the audio of Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
Breaking into tears. Oh, boy. Now, she is a conservative Republican on a TV show with a panel of other women, and they are mostly liberal Democrats. And her and Whoopi Goldberg, they kind of, they disagree about this whole N-word thing. And I want to get your take on it. I want to get you guys on the show. I want to get your take on it. And I want to get P1's takes on it. Especially because we didn't really get to get into that too much. But I really do want to see what your thoughts are. 5701053 is our phone number. The drug games begin. What? Swimmer Jessica Hardy tests positive for a banned substance. Whoa. Welcome back to the show. Before we went to break, we were talking about this Jesse Jackson thing that happened while we were out last week. You know, we were on vacation last week, and this came up in the news, but, you know, I don't really think it was made that big a deal out of. I mean, certainly not like if anybody else had said it, if a white guy, yeah, if a white guy had said it or if a white guy had said it. And I think that's disturbing. Because I do think that, like, this is the thing that really disturbed me about it. You can say anything you want about Imus. When he made the comment about the Rutger girls being nappy-headed hoes,
His intent was to be funny. A lot of people didn't think it was funny and took offense to it. I understand. But his intent was to be funny. Fast forward to the next thing that got him in trouble, which was just a couple of weeks ago. That was the incident where Imus is on the air. And he says in regard to Pac-Man Jones, when the story is that Pac-Man Jones has a history. of being in trouble with the law, Imus says, well, what color is he? Now, when he did that, I didn't get the impression that his intent was to be funny. I got the impression that his intent was to find out what color he was so that it would make sense to Imus. Oh, yeah, no wonder he's in trouble. That's what it sounded like to me. Now, the Jesse Jackson deal. They are in... They're doing a... Jesse Jackson is sitting next to another...
Black guy. They're doing an interview on Fox News. They go into commercial break. The conversation had been about Barack Obama. Jesse Jackson kind of feels like Barack Obama is talking down to black people. And while in conversation with the guy sitting next to him while they're in commercial break, unbeknownst to him, microphones are still turned on, and he drops the N-bomb. Now, what is the intent there? Is it to be funny? Of course it isn't. They're not even on television. And Jesse Jackson's not a comedian. He's not hired to do a funny talk show or an irreverent talk show. He was being interviewed. And it hasn't been talked about very much. And my point in bringing it up now is not to say, man, we should be nailing Jesse Jackson. Man, it isn't that. It's just that, boy, I sure wish that Jesse Jackson, before he picks up a rock and starts throwing it, realizes that.
He's got some sin in his own tank, too. Oh, yeah. He should be held to the same standards that everybody else is. Exactly. And if he isn't held to the same standards as everybody else, then he should give everybody else. He should lower the expectation with everybody else and forgive them for their mess ups. Like, I'm sure he wants to be forgiven. He's doing the whole do as I say, not as I do. Sure. Well, this whole topic was being discussed on the TV show The View. And the view is a bunch of ladies. And they... Kathleen Hens. Kathleen Hens, man. Well, out of all these ladies, Elizabeth Hasselbeck is the only conservative. She's the only Republican sitting there. One of the things that's kind of a bummer is I guess she's got a history of... I guess she's got a history of it. And so...
And she's talking about this very topic with Whoopi Goldberg, who's also on The View. Whoopi. And here's what happens. Cut 32. We live in different worlds. We live in the same world. We do live in different worlds. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's the way it is, Elizabeth. This is the way it is. This is how I grew up. My mother could not. go and vote in the United States of America, the place of her birth. Yes, we would like to, but you don't understand. I want you to, but what I need you to understand is the frustration that goes along with when you say we live in the same world. It isn't balanced and we would like it to be, but you have to understand. to listen to the fact that we're telling you there are issues, there are huge problems that still affect us. And you've got to know this if you want to know us. I understand that. But it didn't sound like it. I am not trying to take that away from you. When we are living in this world and we are living in a world where there is in the pop culture, when that world is in use, when there are... This is upsetting to me because... Okay, just take a breath and let someone else talk. But this is a conversation that is hard and we're going to have it here and we have it here well because we love each other. Yes.
When we live in a world where pop culture then uses that term, and we're trying to get to a place where we feel like we're in the same place, when we feel like we're in the same world, how are we supposed to then move forward if we keep using terms that bring back that pain? I can tell you, here's how we do it. You listen and say, okay, this is how we're using this word, and this is why we do it. You have to say, well, you know what? I understand that, but let's find a new way to move forward. acknowledge the understanding of what it is and why it is. But not all people take the time to have the conversation. We are. Let somebody else have a conversation for just one second. Here's an interesting thing as I listen to it. I say to myself, okay, Whoopi, am I to understand you correctly? As soon as we understand why it is that you get to use the word, it'll be okay. Using the word will be okay because we'll have context. We'll understand why you're using it. And then it'll be okay for you to use it because you're black. However, we're white and we can never use it because we can't relate. We haven't lived that life that you have. So we're not allowed to use it. But when you use it, it's cool and it's okay because, you know, you've got experience. We don't. Is that her point? Is that what I'm hearing? Or am I picking up what she's not putting down?
No, I think that's it. No, that's it. Yeah. Because that is what I call a cop-out. I read this thing one time that was written by a black dude. He's a professor. And he talked about something called race-holding. The concept is copping out. Whenever you want to get away with something, you point at your race or you point at your culture. For instance, hey, listen, you know, I get very angry. I get very upset. I yell and I scream. You know, I'm Mexican. That's why. It's in my blood. You know what? No, maybe you're just kind of a jerk. Maybe it's not that you're Mexican. Maybe it's, hey, listen, of course I drink a lot. Of course I like to have a lot of beers. It's the Irish in me. That's also the jerk in you and the alcoholic in you.
We tend to do this a lot of times. And we do it with our race. And I just, when I hear that, the Whoopi Goldberg thing, man, how much respect would you have if you heard Whoopi say, that wasn't right. You can't do that. We can't do that. Elizabeth Hasselbeck's point, I don't really get either. Well, once again, why, you know, if they only had an intelligent chick to argue with these idiots on that show. And how about more than one? Yeah, I mean, what is she crying about? I don't get it. What is she crying about? What are you upset about? You've never been called the N-word. What was she crying about? Leave her alone! Sweetheart, you can't relate.
What are you upset about? The state of race in America. Oh, really? Really? You've had it rough? Yeah. Being that Anglo-whitey that you are? Get out of here. Anglo-whitey. Like, if I were her, I would have taken the term of, you know, hey, listen, I'm a woman. I deal with a lot of stuff, too. You know, I mean, my mom probably, I don't, when the heck did women were allowed to vote? I forget what year it was. Wait, they can vote? Yeah, they are now. 1942. 1842. Oh, yes, the pilgrims. That's right. That's a different thing. 1920, actually. You don't know. It's 19-something. It's definitely in the 1900s. For sure. I'm telling you. I am. I'm ready for a hammock on the island of Maui. Oh, yeah. A hammock. I hear a hammock. Hey, everyone. Hey, Eddie, how is your finger? Does anybody have a way to get sea urchin out of your finger? I told you already. I gave you my advice. I have sea urchin in my finger. What does that mean? I don't know. Like, when I almost died. Yeah. Snorkeling. Yeah.
I put my hand down at one point and I know I touched something, you know, bad, spiny, prickly. Okay. And it didn't, it didn't feel like all the things that I've heard, you know, I've heard that like it's this intense pain and it stings like until you, you know, use this call Kaiser or whatever. Right, right. And you know, you know what I mean by that. I think we get what you're saying there. You know what I mean. The cure all. Yes, yes. But it didn't feel like that. The home tonic as it were. Yes, exactly. There it is. But I do feel there's something in there, in my finger. I felt it. There's definitely something. There's something in it. Which finger? My pointer on my right hand. Yep. And, like, you can see something kind of black in there, and I can't hit it out. Is it on the tip or in the middle or where? It's kind of on, you know, where you're... It's kind of on the tip. By the joint? Yeah, like right above that. Right above the joint. On the inside or the outside? On the inside. So, okay. Like, palm down. Yeah, yeah. You should take a sterilized needle and then dig in and then take tweezers and pull it out. Soak it in hot water first. Then the needle, then the tweezers. Yeah, that's probably the best. I'm not a doctor. You are a doctor. You are a doctor. It's proof. You're a doctor and an orthopod, so. What?
This online medical website is saying actually not to dig. That's the worst thing you can do. You idiots. Why, Seth? Why are you? Because they're so brittle, they can break off and get pushed. You dummies. They're dramatic. The internet is dramatic. I'm going to die all over again. The internet's being dramatic. Does it say to soak in hot water first? Probably not. What do you do, Seth? It says keep vinegar on the area. as much as you can. And the spines in your skin. The spines in your skin will dissolve on their own. Don't dig at them to get it out. But that's only if it's a sea urchin. Like, I think that it could be like a tiny little piece of the rock is what I think it is. I got Dwayne Johnson in my fingers. That's awesome. What are you getting in your finger? That's awesome. In a little spaceship. Can you smell? But my finger is... Eddie almost died when he was there, man. I did. No joke. I almost died. I told my boyfriend he almost died. I was like, Eddie almost died. He was really upset because he was obsessed with you. One time Skye's brother put her in the couch. She almost died. Did you really almost die, Skye? He shoved her in there. He wouldn't let her out. Nobody even knew where she was. Nobody even knew where she was in there. I've never said I almost died.
It was dramatic. You said that if there was a fire or something, I would have died. Oh, if there was a fire. Because I was stuck in there. I was stuck in there. Skye, have you ever done anything that you could say you almost died? Just there was this one time where there was this crazy close call in the car. You know, but I don't think that's not as dramatic as Eddie's story. Yes, I actually drove a Honda. Yes, and hello. I almost died. Story completes itself, isn't it? No, I was driving, and the median wasn't like a cement median in between the two sides of the highway. It was like bushes, and all of a sudden, a car coming the opposite direction goes all the way through the bushes. There was a car accident. Sean, what just happened in your head? What would you think? What would I make you think? When you were saying I was in a Honda, I thought. Yes, it was a subcompact. Oh, yes. This one time she was walking outside and a silent car came speeding behind you.
That was you. Very dangerous. That was me. That was actually you. That is dead on wheels. But, yeah, so there was an accident on the other side of the highway, and one of the cars was spinning and came spinning through the, like, bushes in the middle. And, like, I swear probably missed our back bumper by, I don't know, like, five feet. So if we would have been, like, a second. Because baby got back. You know, later. Smash OLED. Yeah, it was really scary. We got a guy on the line named P1 Rasta. Rasta, are you there? Yeah, I'm right here. Rasta is from Oahu, and he thinks he knows what's in Eddie's finger. What's in my finger? This actually happened to my brother before. He got a particle of a reef inside his foot from surfing. What it'll do is if your skin heals over it, it'll continue to grow inside your finger. Are you sure this isn't a wives' tale? No, we've heard this before. Isn't this an urban legend, this guy? No, we had a P1 who called in and said the exact same thing. Yeah, it made me think he was lying. It made me think he was like, I don't know, did you guys buy that story that a whole reef started growing in his stomach or something? It sounded like an urban legend. I don't know, maybe it's true. Coral finger on. Yeah, exactly.
I don't know. Maybe it's true. It just sounded kind of outrageous, but it could be. Listen, is anybody listening right now that something crazy happened to you? You almost died? 570-1053. I mean, where you came close. Something really whacked out. Rob, come on. Text us. 35253. Yeah, Rob, you're kind of adventurous. Well, I told you guys about the car accident I got in where I was in the backseat and I had to dive out because the guys that were driving were on drugs. Drinking a lot, and we went through the front yard and almost into this home. How fast was the car moving? When I jumped out, probably about 25, because we had gone through the front yard fence, almost hit the house, tore up the lawn. They peeled out, backed out of the lawn, got back to the street, and started taking off again. And about a quarter way down the street is when I jumped out. So they weren't back at 50 miles per hour like we were going before. They were probably halfway there. And I dove out of the car. I had a couple drinks. That's crazy! What a visual. Anything happen to them, Rob, or did they end up okay? Amazingly, God was with us a lot when I was younger, but yeah, everyone was safe. 570-1053, do you have a story, a near-death experience? Did something happen to you where you were pretty close? 570.

I've been in like some car accidents and things like a friend and I were driving down the freeway one time. I was actually driving and a guy came up on the driver's side and cut in front of us, clipped the front of my vehicle and it sent us. headlong into the guardrail. And there was a split second where your mind is working so fast that even those very quick things seem like they take a lifetime. And I remember looking directly at the guardrail in front of us and going, wow, we're going to hit this guardrail. And there was a drop on the other side. It was probably like a 30-foot drop. And I was thinking in this split second, wow, I'm going to hit that guardrail and we're going to go over and we could die if we go over. And in that moment, I grabbed the wheel and I jerked it as hard as I could to the left. And the car ended up skidding and slamming into the guardrail on the passenger side. And then the person that I was with in the passenger side actually lost their memory for the entire night. Really? Yeah, it was really crazy.
Whoa. 570-1053. Give us a call and tell us if you've had any kind of experience even close to this. I had a gun pulled on me. Holy cow. What are you talking about? I just hit this line, but hang on just a second. E-Ticket, are you there? E-Ticket, hang on a minute. Eddie, what happened? When I was young, I was dating this gal and we were with her and her brothers and we were all drinking in this park. It was at night, you know, so no lights on or anything, but we were at this, like, swing set, and I was sitting with this girl on, like, one of the swing sets or slides or something like that. Yeah, it was a little sexy time. Let the romance begin. Ah, yes. And boom goes the dynamite. And out of the woods came a dude dressed completely in camouflage, carrying a pistol, and put it right to my head, and luckily I was drunk.
Or else I would have probably freaked out and said, do you know what this is? And I said, no. And he said, do you want to know what it is? And I said, no. And he said, all right. And he walked away. What? What? Did you like call the cops or anything? That's crazy. I don't even remember. Probably not. Yeah. Dude. Yeah. Oh, my. We're getting text messages. Mikey, I was skydiving and a flock of birds got trapped in my parachute. Come on. Get out. out of here. Imagine that. That is horrifying. Mikey, when I was two years old, I bit into an extension cord. Stopped breathing and everything. Mikey, I had an RPG hit a wall 10 feet from me, but it didn't blow up. Let's take some phone calls. 570-1053 is the number.
P1 e-ticket. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead. Yay, man. I work for one of the fire departments here in San Diego. We went to this lady's house on medical aid. Picked her up and took her to the hospital. And when I got to the hospital, my palms started to turn red. My chest started to turn red. And I'm pretty much allergic to everything under the sun, but I didn't ever have a reaction like this before. And the nurse looked at me and she said, hey, you look kind of pale. I think we need to admit you. And I kind of denied it at first, but eventually we ended up getting into a hospital bed and she was giving me steroids and epinephrine and Benadryl to try to combat the reaction of whatever I was having. And you don't know what it is that you were allergic to? I just went into her house. I really didn't touch anything or do anything, but I had one of those tests done when I was a little kid and they said I was pretty much allergic to everything. Wow. It's kind of scary because when they send you to B stations, usually because you're pretty acute, you know, and she said, hey, you know, your throat's still closing up and we can't get it to stop, so we might have to intubate you and send you to B stations. Oh, my gosh. I don't know what any of that is, but it sounds serious. That's scary. That's pretty scary. Hey, dude, thank you for the phone call. That was a P1E ticket. Here's some of the texts coming through. Mikey, once I...
Ate Ashley's cookies and it was a really close call. That's not cool, Ash. That is not cool, Ash. Mikey, June of 07. I was in a Southwest airplane that had to land without front landing gear. Come on. I was supposed to go from Sacramento to San Diego and had to divert to Oakland. The plane was sprayed with foam and we had to slide down the emergency slide. No. No. 570-1053. Text us 35253. This is P1 Tom. Are you there, Tom? Let's try again. P1 Tom, can you hear me? Yeah, can you hear me, Mikey? Yep, go ahead. Hey, I was just calling in. When I was in Iraq last year in August, we were doing a mountain patrol at night, and our Humvee was hit by an IED, and blew me clear out of the turret and jacked up the rest of the people in the Humvee.
What does IED stand for? It's an improvised explosive device. Are these the things that the resurgence leave on the side of the road? Yeah, exactly. The roadside bombs. Roadside bombs. It ended up being 100 pounds of homemade explosives. Oh, my. Dude, how did you survive? I don't know. Somebody was looking out for me, I guess. Yeah, big time. What kind of injuries did you get from it? It completely shattered my heel bone on my right foot. How? How? As well as a tibia and a fibula fracture. I've been in and out of the hospital for the past year, and I'm on, like, surgery 11 and stuff like that. Oh, dude. Holy cow. Did they send you home right away? Yeah, it was medevaced right away from Germany to San Diego Hospital here. Really? Wow. So what do they do? They just sedate you for that long journey? Pretty much. It was a lot of morphine, so... I bet. Hey, thank you. I appreciate the phone call. That's P1 Tom, and I hope you're better, man. Thank you, Mikey. I appreciate it. Yeah. Let's see. P1 Carissa, this is kind of interesting. Carissa, are you there? Yes, I can hear you. Now, you had to jump off a train bridge? What? Yes. What? Oh!
I love the story already. Well, I grew up in Northern California where I grew up in a rural town. And the fastest way to get to the quickie mart to get candy with my brothers was taking the train tracks. And so one day we decided that we were going to go walk the train tracks to kind of walk into town. And walking there was fine. This was back when I was in like the seventh grade, so the platform shoes were popular. So I was probably three, four inches off the ground in these shoes. And we take the train tracks and everything's fine getting there. And then on the way back, you could always tell if a train was coming by holding onto the rail. And if you felt some vibrations, then we would wait a while because we had to go around the bend to where we couldn't see if the train was coming once we passed that bend. And so my brother felt it and said, oh, gosh, we might want to wait. And I'm like, no, let's just go. I want to get home. It's hot out here. start walking. Never have understood that, by the way. I've never understood the not play it safe decision making. Well, I'm in the seventh grade, so that explains that. Hey, listen, I've been a safe player since I was three. I have not. I've been a wimp since I was three years old. I don't think I've ever been a safe player. Alright, go ahead. So we get walking, and you have to cross this big train bridge, which think like...
lower levels, the movies stand by me. Not that tall, but probably about 200 feet. It's tall. Yeah. And so he goes ahead and I'm kind of walking, taking my time with my candy in my hand, kind of walking because you have to walk from piece of wood to piece of wood. Like there's space in between where if you flip, you're screwed. So you got to kind of walk slow. Right. And so... He gets to the end, and I'm probably about 50 feet from the end of the bridge. And I look at him, and his eyes are wide, like, oh, my God. And I turn around, and I hear, right as I turn around, I hear. Did you get it, Zach? Yeah, I got it. All right, turn her down. Turn her down. Dang it, this is such a good story. I know, I know what happened. Listen, let's do this. She forgot she was on the radio. Let's take a quick timeout and instruct her on what she can and can't say on the radio. And when we come back, let's finish the story. Just take a quick timeout. How close have you been to death? 570-1053. Text us 35253. We'll be back after this. It's such a great sport for San Diego and everyone listening. San Diego is really, really lucky to have you guys on the radio every morning. Rock one thousand.

Sorry to tell you, if you're trying to come into San Diego out of Orange County to get to Comic-Con, you're going to be sitting in a lot of traffic for a while there through Camp Pendleton. This all came down just after 5 o'clock this morning with a flipped over bakery that exploded and caught fire. All lanes are blocked about a mile south of Las Pulgas except for the far left lane, and traffic is squeezing by one at a time here. Traffic's backed up for seven miles out of San Onofre on down. You're being advised, so boy, that's right for a good reason. Camp Pendleton officials are actually giving you access to go through Camp Pendleton to get around this possibly a little bit faster. You can take that Las Pulgas exit off, and then they'll direct you down to El Camino Real to Stuart Mesa Road back onto Vandergrift. That's a long stretch, though, to get back on the fire freeway.
South by 715, back up heavily as well out of Escondido, up to 78, to a big rig that ran out of gas, stalled in the slow lane, just past West Bernardo Drive, and that's why you're still backed up there. The rest of our freeways out of the East County, South Bay, all back up to speed, looking pretty much normal right now. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. On the phone with us right now, who is this? We were talking about people that have had sort of near-death experiences that have come really close to being injured really bad. Maybe they have been injured really bad. It was a really close call. And you can call us if you have a story, 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. P1 Casey, are you there? Casey, can you hear me? Let me try this again. P1 Casey, are you there? Yes, I'm here. Oh. Casey, your story is interesting because I think something like this was just in the news recently. It says that you were in a helicopter crash touring Catalina Island. Come on. When did that happen? Well, my family and I were on a cruise for the Millennium Celebration. And part of the cruise actually stopped at Catalina Island. And one of the activities they offered was a helicopter tour. We decided, hey, that would be cool. We went to Catalina Island and started taking... When was this, Casey? When was this? Oh, this was December 28th of 1999. I was 13 years old. Okay. And so we took off from the heliport and about 15 minutes into the flight, we came over a ridge and the low rotor RPM alarm started going off in our headset. So at first I didn't know what was going on, but my dad immediately grabbed me because he was in the Coast Guard for a number of years. So he knew what was going on.
Next thing I knew, we had hit the ground on my side. It was the side of a slope. We had started tumbling down the slope. We were probably about 50 feet up in the air. And so we started tumbling down, and the only thing that really stopped us was hitting a tree. And when we came to rest, I started waking up from being knocked out, and I saw that I was underneath the helicopter. What? Somehow, well, the door got sheared off when we hit the ground at first. And it was on my side, so we had started tumbling. I don't know how my head wasn't crushed as we were tumbling. But, again, when we came to rest, that was underneath the helicopter. It was laying. The only thing that was exposed was my head. That was the only thing that wasn't underneath. How many people were on board? It was the pilot.
Me, my dad, my mom, my sister, and another couple. Wow. Was anybody seriously injured? Just me. Everybody else was fine. The helicopter pilot actually got a stick through his nose. What? But my injuries were pretty much dislocated left leg, like it dislocated at the hip. And my left foot was actually somehow caught in the helicopter, and it got twisted around about 270 degrees. My right shoulder was impacted, and my collarbone kind of popped out. And I had a massive concussion, like all the blood vessels in my eyes popped. So my eyes were completely red. And at the time, there was actually jet fuel dripping on my back. Yes.
You're lucky to be alive, man. I am very lucky to be alive. How old are you? I'm 21. How much time in the hospital? Yeah, that's a good question. How much time in the hospital? Actually, only five days, surprisingly. What the heck, dude? I didn't have any broken bones or anything. The only real surgery that had to be done was putting my hip back into place. What about your foot? My foot? Somehow none of the bones were actually broken. It was just that it had been kind of crushed and twisted. So it was weird to me that, yeah, nothing had been broken. So did the helicopter company have any liability, or did you have to sign a waiver before the trip released? We didn't sign any waivers, but we were able to get them to pay for the hospital bills and a little bit for the emotional trauma. But we weren't really after money or anything. It was just, you know, we just wanted the hospital bills taken care of. I appreciate the phone call, man. No problem. That was P1 Casey. Let's see. P1 Crystal, are you there? Yeah. Crystal, what happened to you? A victim in a school shooting back in January of 1979. What happened?
Walking up to school, my mom had dropped me off, and it was really weird because there was, like, bodies in the bushes. And I was like, you know, what's going on? You know, I'm 10 years old at the time. I'm in fourth grade, and these bodies are just laying in the bushes. And I walk up a little bit further, and I heard what I thought was firecrackers. There was a couple boys walking up behind me, and I thought, oh, they're playing with firecrackers or something. And then this teacher yells out of the nurse's office window, He yelled, you guys duck. And at that very moment, I turned and got shot in the wrist. The girl that shot me was actually, you know, shooting to kill. And those people that were in the bushes was the principal and the custodian of the school. Oh, my gosh. They had been killed. But I didn't really realize that's, you know, what had happened. I think they were, like, covered up by that point. Where did this take place? This took place in San Diego. It was one of the first school shootings. Probably in the country. And it was in the San Carlos area of San Diego. It was Cleveland Elementary. And the girl that shot me was Brenda Spencer. She did it because she didn't like Mondays. At least that's what was said. No way. Wow. And did you say the principal and custodian were dead in the bushes? Yeah, but when I walked up, I didn't see any blood.
I didn't even really see, like, a lot because they were kind of in the bushes, you know, so you couldn't really tell exactly what was going on. I thought it was, like, sixth graders, like, messing around, doing something weird or something. You know, I mean, you know, you're 10 years old. You don't go, oh, you know, there must be a sniper shooting at school. Oh, my gosh. How old was Brenda Spencer? She was 16, and she's still in prison. Wow. She got, there was actually, I think, eight kids. that were shot that day and then she killed the principal and the custodian and then she also shot a policeman in the neck and got a number of years for each person you know that she killed and then of course each person that she shot which were mostly you know children so she got a number of years and she's been eligible for parole many times since then but um she always gets denied fortunately so wow now what were What were your, you know, what kind of after effects did it have on you, Crystal? You know, I think I'm probably a little less trusting of people in general. Right. Sure. And I'm kind of weird, but I don't know if this is because of this, but, like, if I'm in a restaurant, I don't like to have my back towards, like, the door. Oh, for sure. I don't think that's weird. Yeah. I don't think that's weird. I like to face people. Well, duh. Speak up on me.
How old are you now, Crystal? 39. This happened in 79. Wow. So in January, it'll be 30 years. There you go. I appreciate the phone call. That is a very interesting take. I mean, not very many people probably are still here. They could talk about that happening. What a trip. Thanks a lot, Crystal. This is P1 Poopy Pants. Great. Hi, people in poopy pants. I got to admit, I don't even feel like going after those. That was pretty gnarly, right? Pretty much like a Teletubbies program compared to that. Pretty much anything is now. You pretty much have to be Jack Sawyer or Kate to call in at this point. I got nothing to compare, but my accelerator cable got stuck up in San Francisco a few years ago. I was driving this car. basically a shoebox on wheels, and there's a little cable that goes from the accelerator. It was actually a shoebox, and it was on wheels. That's the weird thing. Really strange. And the accelerator cable goes through the firewall to the engine, and as I was accelerating onto the freeway, the cable got stuck in the little hole it goes through and started fraying. Of course, I didn't know this at the time, but basically the cable got stuck, and I kept going faster and faster, and pretty soon I'm in traffic.
Pretty, pretty busy traffic up there in San Francisco. And I can't stop the car. I can't slow it down. And I'm going faster and faster. And I'm weaving through traffic. And, you know, I pop it in neutral. And, of course, at that point, the engine just goes nuts and just redlined. And then I'm coasting. And so I throw it back into, you know, fifth year again. And I try to keep going. And I'm supposed to pick my friend up at the airport, you know, in five minutes. So I'm heading towards the airport at a ridiculously fast rate, just weaving through traffic. I was really shook up, and I called him, and I said, you know, get on the curb. I'm flying by. Dude. And I slowed it down by turning the engine off as I was cruising by the airport, and he jumped in, and we made it all the way back home just scared to death. And then when I got home, I looked, and the cable was completely frayed. There was one thread left, and the whole cable would have been cut going to the engine. That's unreal, man. Yeah. That is unreal. Hey, listen. I didn't get my hand shot off, but yeah. Hey, listen, thank you for the call. I appreciate the phone call. We have so many P1s listening to the Mikey Show. We have so many listeners at this point that we pretty much get calls from, if you can think of a situation that's happened here in San Diego, we can almost find a P1 that was there or knew somebody that was there. You know what I mean? Yeah. Okay, remember the killing at...
extraordinary desserts. We have someone on the line that was working there when it happened. Get out of here. P1 Ryan, are you there? Hey, what's up, Mikey? Not too much, man. So you were working there that day. Yes. What do you remember about what happened? Everything. Everything happened right in front of me. I saw it from start to end. Describe to us what took place. What happened was there were these two couples who were dining there, and while they were waiting in line, there was a man outside who was speaking gibberish to them. That's what their story was, that the man was speaking gibberish to them. And when they sat down to eat, the guy was still bothering them. So the folks who were eating asked one of my coworkers if they could ask that guy to leave. So he left. He was escorted out. And then about five minutes or so later, he came back with a gun, and he shot.
one of the gentlemen in the head and in the chest, and then he shot the other fellow who was sitting across from him in the shoulder. He shot the other guy that was doing what? The guy who was sitting across from him. He was sitting across from him. It was like two couples dining together. Got it, got it. And then what happened was I was about to bring that table their food. And it happened maybe like within eight feet of where it happened. I was within eight feet of where it happened. And the crazy thing was I was about to bring that table their food. And after the guy had, you know, killed those folks or killed that one person and shot the other guy, he turned and he kind of looked at me and then he walked out. That's unbelievable. That is unbelievable. I mean, you are so lucky, dude, that you are alive. Yeah, I mean, you know, when it happened, it was just so surreal. I didn't know, like, how to react to it when it happened. Did it change your life in any ways? Yeah, you know, now it's kind of like when I go out. I really don't, you know, think that, you know, you just got to always expect the unexpected. That is absolutely unbelievable. Do you have to testify? Has that trial already happened? I'm sorry? Has the trial already happened, or do you have to testify? No, he pled guilty. He did? Yeah. And that is unbelievable. Hey, dude, thank you for the phone call. No problem. Talk about being, I mean, something almost dying. That guy right there.
That is about as close to it as you can get. Hey, P1AO almost got hit by the crazy guy that stole the tank here in San Diego. Oh, yeah. What happened? AO, where are you? Take a timeout. You by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. Right now, most of our freeways in the city aren't looking too bad because the South 15 is pretty messed up. That's backed up from before El Norte Parkway through West Condito. Down to Rancho Bernardo, there was an earlier stalled-out bait rig in the slow lane past West Bernardo Drive. It really caused a mess with that commute. Heading south from the 5 down through Camp Pendleton, that is still just a mess. A seven-mile backup if you're coming out of Orange County or San Clemente down into Camp Pendleton into San Diego. This is all due to an overturned big rig that exploded, caught fire just about a mile south of Las Pulgas. All lanes are shut down except for the far left lane, and traffic is just squeezing by one car at a time. And that closure remains in effect for a good portion of the morning for the next several hours. So keep that in mind. Give yourself some extra time there. And in the meantime, that was just a mess, so try to avoid it if you possibly can. East County Southway rides are up to speed, moving right along for a good-looking ride on the rest of our city freeways. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Let me tell you something right now. BMW Encinitas is doing some very, very cool stuff. What I mean specifically is that there are incentives going on right now through the month of July. $369 a month on a brand new BMW 328i lease. Does that sound like you or what? Can you picture yourself behind the wheel of a brand new 328i?
Because that's what's going on at BMW Encinitas right now for $369 a month. I'm telling you that that is approximately $20 more than what Boston Rob is paying for some Dodge that he's got that he went out and he bought brand new. And that's how much of a month the car payment is. I'm telling you, $369 a month for a brand new 328i. Those cars are incredible and you shouldn't be going anywhere else but BMW Encinitas, which by the way, if you go to BMW Encinitas, you take your car in there to get serviced or anything, you're going to get a loaner. That's a BMW guaranteed. You're not going to get a Chevy. You're not going to get a Ford as a loaner car. You're going to get a BMW. And no other BMW dealership in San Diego County can say that. See what you guys get your take on this. Okay. See what you guys think about it. Mikey, I listen to you guys every morning and have never called in or wrote you, but this one got me so upset. You guys are the first people I wanted to get an opinion from. Just received an email with a picture I took this weekend with a group of friends.
Well, one of my friends decided that they didn't like the tattoo on my left arm and airbrushed it out. Wow. I couldn't believe it. I think it's the rudest thing I've ever seen. She didn't even mention it to me, just photoshopped it or whatever. What do you guys think? Do I have the right to be mad? That's P1 Kayla. Very interesting, isn't it? Let me give you an example, too. Okay, let's say that you have crow's feet around the eyes. And you know very full well that you have crow's feet around the eyes. And you take a couple of photos with groups of friends of yours. And the people are sending out the photos. And they send you the photos. Hey, here's our weekend. It was really great. Wonderful to see you. And your crow's feet are gone. Let's say that you have a lot of freckles. Oh, like Lindsay Lohan, they always airbrush her stuff, and then you see candid shots, and you're like, wow, she has, like, freckles everywhere. That's right. Yeah. So what would you think if that's you, and you've got freckles everywhere, and a friend of yours takes pictures, and when you get the pictures, when they send you the pictures, suddenly your freckles are gone. Oh, man. I'd be pissed. Yeah. That's me. I mean, you don't have the right to change me. They're her pictures.
That's who I am. That's me. So you're saying I'm not good enough for your picture? No. The way that I am? But they're her pictures, so she can edit them however the heck she wants. She can put a groucho mustache on you if she wants to. She totally can. That's her prerogative. My question is, would it hurt you? Yeah, deeply. Depends. It would make me feel like, you know what, you don't like the way I look? Maybe I have imperfections, but that's what makes me me. Ash, what does it depend on? It depends for me. I might actually appreciate it. Sweat stains. You see what I'm saying? That's actually a great example. Thank you. So if your sweat stains were taken out. Yeah, if I had sweat stains, which I always do, and those were, you know, photoshopped. Or if I had like a blemish on my face and that's photoshopped. I took one out of Ashley's pictures. Yeah. And how much better did it look, Mike? Like, I appreciate that. You did what? When we went on the P1 cruise to Cabo, I took a really good picture of Ashley and a listener standing next to each other. And Ashley at the time had this zit that she hated. I hate that word. She was talking about it. I hate that word. Call it a blemish. I don't like it either. A blemish. So this giant zit. Stop it. Stop it. This is disgusting. Don't. And can we move on now? I hate that word.
It was like a twin that didn't fully develop it. So anyway, I have Photoshop and it's got this thing on there where you can just put a little circle over the blemish and you click on it once and it's gone. It made all the difference. It looked like Ashley normally looks without the blemish. And you did it without asking or anything? No, I didn't ask. No, he just showed me. And I appreciated it. I was like, good looking out, Max. Kind of presumptuous though. Now let me ask, Eddie. If you had a pimple, would that make a difference? Ew, I hate that word. You blemish. I would appreciate you asking first. Really? Absolutely. You would want me to say, hey man, I'm going to be doing these pictures. You want me to take that pimple out? Yeah.
What would you say? I would say, yeah, I guess so. I mean, I don't care that much, but yeah. Yeah, see, I think it's okay, like, for pimples and sweat stains, you know, things that are, like, temporary. But if it's a permanent feature about you, whether it's making your nose smaller or like a mole, freckles or something that you have every day, that would really hurt my feelings. That would hurt your feelings. Oh, yeah. So if it's something that's actually a part of you. Right. I don't use that word either. 570-1053. Like Big Charlie? Hey, Big Charlie. 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. If you have ever had somebody send you pictures and you have been airbrushed without them asking you, call us at 570-1053. What do you think about that? Did it hurt you or did you appreciate it? Have you ever done that? Do you make a regular habit out of doing that? In other words, maybe it's a regular habit of yours that whenever you take pictures, before you send them out to anybody, you make it a regular habit to touch them up a little bit. What is your take? Is it hurtful? Is it something that has hurt your feelings?
570-1053. And text us. 35253 is our phone number. Eddie says he might be okay with it, but he wants a heads up. Yeah. Sky says, I'm okay with it if it's something temporary, like a blemish. But never, ever is it okay for something that is a part of her, like freckles or something like that. I'd be Charlie. Leave Big Charlie alone. Just downsize him a little. No, Big Charlie's fine the way he is. Just chilling on my shoulder. He's good. Yes, Big Charlie is... Shut up, man. Sean's going to freak out. What's the problem, Sean? Sean is going to freak out. I don't like to talk about that crap. There's nothing bad about Big Charlie. Don't. Part of our friend. I already think skin is disgusting. It's like another friend. So skin in general is disgusting. Yes, it's...
Really disgusting. Yeah, skin makes Sean kind of sick. Okay. Let's talk to P1 Wheelchair Racer. Are you there? Yeah, I'm here. So what did a friend of yours do? I was surfing down in Oceanside, and I got a little bit of a beer gut, and my friend took a really good picture, and he airbrushed out my beer gut. Sick. Wow. How did he airbrush out a beer gut? I don't know. He just sprayed over it, and... It was blue. How do you think it looked? Oh, it looked good. He spray painted on a little bit of a six pack. Awesome. But that's not you. That's great. Yeah, it was pretty cool. I was surprised. Did it look realistic or did it look like a phony job? You could tell if you looked really close, but most people didn't even know. They thought it was me. They thought I was working out.
Now, Eddie, you are totally against that. I mean, that's not you. Yeah. I mean, you might as well put your head on Brad Pitt's body. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's the point? I appreciate the phone call, dude. Thank you. I can understand that. Hey, listen. Thanks. Love yours. Listen, it's not me, man. That ain't me. You're telling me something about me. Sorry. Sorry I'm not in great shape. I mean, I wish I was, but that's not. Don't take a picture of me then. That's right. Hey, man, if it's a bad angle and you can do a little swoop, swoop, a little whoosh, whoosh, make the arm look a little thin. Ashley is obsessed with arm placement. Very important. And the chin placement. A little soak it up, soak it up. P1 Hector. Hey, Mikey, good morning. What's up, man? Well, my best friend and her birthday party, she did like my girlfriend. So we took a family portrait on a birthday party, and she just completely edited out my girlfriend. How? Well, I guess she photoshopped it because back in the day, they were friends, but she liked me, and I liked her best friend. She crop it? I don't want to know why she did it. I want to know how. How did she get rid of the girlfriend in the picture? Did she just crop it? Yeah, she just photoshopped her out. Wow. I like her base. That's so nice.
Hey, dude, thank you for the call, man. I appreciate it. That was P1 Hector. Here's a text message we're getting. Hey, Mikey, I had my friend Photoshop out my brother's unibrow in a picture. Sweet. Me and my boys in Vegas. See, you're going to notice that, man. If you have a unibrow and you get a picture of yourself back and they've edited, you know, they've Photoshopped out the unibrow, they're saying to you. Not only are they saying, man, do I really notice your unibrow? Yeah. But they're also saying, man, I really don't like your unibrow. Yeah, your unibrow is not acceptable. And even though we have never openly discussed your unibrow, I am going to give you photographic evidence of exactly what I think about your unibrow. It's going to be very clear to you what I think about your face when you hit the download button. Here's photographic evidence that you are not good the way you are. Yes. I'm going to improve you. This is what you need to work on. P1 Brian. Oh, he's gone now. P1 Warning, are you there? Phones aren't working. P1 Warning, are you there? Mikey, I did a great retouch job for a friend's pic with his girlfriend.
It was way subtle. So I showed them and they were stoked. Then my girlfriend told them, yeah, he spent a long time making that pic look good. Oh, nice job. I was embarrassed. Well, I mean, they always do this when you go, if you go to a studio or something and you have pictures of your family taking it, you know, if you go to a portrait place or whatever, you have pictures of your family take, of course they're going to do it then. But you expect that, you know. wedding pictures they usually do that yeah you know they want to touch you up make you look the best as possible when you're getting your wedding pictures taken but outside of that like when it's your friend how do you feel about that no mikey my sister photoshopped my daughter into a wedding picture due to the fact that she was a baby and wouldn't stand the way she wanted what the heck so now she's saying i don't like the way your kid behaves I'll make her behave the way that I want to with Photoshop. P1 T-Bone, are you there? T-Bone, can you hear me? I see what happened. I think I've lost control. Oh, there you are. T-Bone, you can hear me now? I can hear you. Okay, go ahead. Yeah, I just wanted to say that I'm on. I have Photoshopped all the wrinkles out of all my pictures, and I'm on dating sites. And you just find that you get way more people that respond if you have.
pictures where you look better. I think I look very similar to my picture still. I'm good looking, but I look a lot better looking when I take all the wrinkles out. Yeah, but what is that? I'm totally lost. You're lost? Yeah, I'm lost because you do that to pictures of you. Yeah, which is a whole other topic of misrepresenting yourself on the internet. I'm a little ADD and it made me think of that, so I don't know. Go with it. My question is, when you meet the girls, like in person, I mean, doesn't that kind of give them a false... False advertising. Yeah, dude. I can't tell you how many times that's happened to me, actually, where you see a picture of a girl in a bathing suit from, I don't know, 1994, and you don't know, and then you show up... Oh, so two wrongs make a right? That is the thing. Is that the deal? Yeah, I think it's funny. I think that is. Well, yeah, I mean, when that happened, when you do meet the girl and you realize that that picture is 10 years old, what do you think? Oh, yeah, I'm pissed. I'm like, you idiot, why'd you lie to me? Way to start a date. So then what are you when you do that, you know? I don't actually say that to somebody, but I mean, that's what I'm thinking. You should. Dude, I got to tell you, I don't understand. Hey, what are you? You don't like it, but then you're doing it. Okay, but what I'm saying is...
Of the people that I meet on there, I'm a realist, so I'm not making things up. Most every single time. No, no, no, no. You just said that you're making things up. He's a fake realist. You're making up the fact that you have no wrinkles. Yeah, remember? You said that. Yeah, I don't understand. No, but you said spider. You said spider. I don't know. Everybody seems to be happy. I mean, every once in a while, somebody's like, okay, you're not for me, whatever. But most of the time, you look like... And you're still single. How is that possible? Hey, listen. Thank you, man. Thank you. I did not understand that man. I had a really hard time understanding that man. Mikey, so would it be better not to fix the picture and send out the picture with the big fat zit to absolutely everyone? No. That's funny, too. That's funny, too. I think that's exactly. Can you stop? I think that's the deal. I didn't have the zip. It was you. Stop. I'm a realist. It was a year ago. It was a year ago. I'm a changed woman. 5701053. Our text is 35253. You're going to get stuck in all kinds of traffic here in the South Side, all due to a flipped-over bake rig that exploded, caught fire, blocking all lanes about a mile south of Las Polgas. I couldn't take a typing class because I was writing advog. I have a great lexicon, though. You'll be very happy to hear this, Boston Rob. Anchorman 2 is in the works. Get out of here. That's not real. Adam McKay, who collaborates with Will Ferrell, told Entertainment Weekly that they've been working on a follow-up to Anchorman, which will take place a decade later in 1980. Yes! Really? Awesome! I assume so. I don't specifically say, but I assume so. In the 80s. This sequel, I guarantee you, will be just as good, if not better.
Wow, that's quite a statement. Oh, they got to put John C. Reilly in this movie. They got to. I mean, those two are really turning into like the comedy duo, right? Seriously. I guess so. I guess that's a deal because they are in a lot of movies together now. Let's see, what else is going on? We talk about 50 Cent filing that lawsuit against Taco Bell for using his name? No. What is this about? So I guess Taco Bell did some ads where they were basically like doing a call out to 50 Cent to try and get him to change his name to either 79, 89 or 99 cents. Because I guess that may coincide with prices on their menu or whatever. And 50 Cent said he did not give them his permission to use his name. And so he filed a lawsuit yesterday wanting $4 million in damage. Well, guess what, buddy? The government didn't give you permission to use that name. It's currency. Oh, that's a good argument. Yeah, so can't they sue him? Yeah, baby. Yeah, see? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
A guy broke a record for the highest blood alcohol level in Rhode Island. Wrong. Hey, listen. It's a different time. Of course. Of course he's from New England, right? You know it. Sky, what's the deal? Another championship. That's right. Titletown, baby. What can't we do? My God. What was it? I understand that the last guy that held the record was from Florida, and this guy from Rhode Island videotaped that guy from Florida in order to be able to beat him. That's when I heard that. That's what I heard. I don't know if that's true. It is true. It is true? Yes. Well, this guy was arrested. I believe he was eating a hamburger on the floor. That's right. That's how it happens. Every time it happens like that. Yeah, well, so this dude was arrested after he drove through a sign on the highway, and, you know, the police came out, and I guess the guy couldn't even walk, so they had to carry him out of his car into the patrol car. You know, the legal limit in Rhode Island is .08, like it is here, and they gave him the breathalyzer, and it came back .491. Oh! Wow! They say...
in there. Don't want in the car. Yeah, so they say this is the only other time they've seen blood alcohol levels this guy are on dead bodies. Like on people who've died from like alcohol poisoning. Oh, wow. Yeah, so the way they classify it. That's great. It's been robbed three years ago. My 21st when I was to take a hospital I was .40. What? Yeah. Wow. July 21st? No, his 21st. Oh, his 21st. Uh-huh. You got taken to the hospital? Yep, right after getting kicked out of the garden. Watching the Celtics game. I'm a surprise. You can't smoke in the bathroom there, I guess. I ducked three cops with security and then they finally got a hold of me, even though I put my shirt inside out thinking that would describe me. Oh, wow. Idiot. Are you telling me? Didn't that make you invisible? That's what I thought. Camouflage. Well, keep in mind, so they have like different classifications. It's a freaking dress and leggings. If it's like a .3, a .4, whatever. So this guy was a .491, and their classification for a .5 is fatal. Oh, my. He drove? I'm drunk. That is nuts, man. That is not funny. Sweep everyone!
So Sky has a list of Forbes' highest-earning actors and actresses for 2007. Oh. So what do we want to do? Start with the actors? Yeah. Carrot Top from Chairman of the Board. Yes. Yes. Johnny Depp is number two, making $72 million last year. Now who's serious? Brian Dennehy in Tommy Boy. Dana Carvey in Opportunity Knox. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. Matt Damon. David Caruso in Rambo First Blood. Wow. Leonardo DiCaprio. Yes, that is correct. Number five. 45 million. In Jade? Yes. David Caruso in Jade. No, I said Leonardo DiCaprio. Oh, oh, oh. Number five. 45 million. That's a little different. That's a little different. Okay. All right. That's enough out of all of you. Of course, I'm probably thinking Jeff Goldblum in Earth Girls are easy. Just seven. Put it on the board. Yeah. Or Jim Carrey. 2007. Bill Farrell. Jay Moore in Seeing Other People. Ah, yes. He made a lot of money for that. Orlando Bloom. Oh, Jay Moore. Put it on the board. Sure subject. It's a great movie.
It is. Eddie Murphy in Trading Places. Eddie Murphy is number three, making $55 million last year. Are you serious? He owes me $55 million for the movies he made last year. No kidding. Damon Wayans in Celtic Pride. Oh, good one. Will Smith. Will Smith is number one, Ashley. Number one. Making $80 million last year. Who is it? You know, because they count those. Like, if you, you know, he got the money. Well, you didn't tell me that, man. Shoot, I would have got them all. I would have got all of them. So you're just missing number four. I know it. It's Brad Pitt in Sleepers. Anybody seen that movie? Sleepers. Anybody seen that movie? It's actually not. I'm going to go. Fred Savage in Little Monsters. Rob? Oh, I got a good one. Heath Ledger in A Knight's Tale. Too soon? Too soon? Too soon? I told you earlier this morning. Too soon. It's too soon. When is it going to be okay? 2014. I'll be here.
Well, so do you want me to tell you number four so we can move on to the actors? No, we can get it. We can get it. You're never going to get it. Ned Beatty in Deliverance. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Skye, what about the shark from Jaws? Yeah, the shark. C. Thomas Howell in Soul Man. Oh, the pale guy in Powder. Pale guy, by the way. He's the only pale. You know what I'm saying? I don't know. Margot Kidder in Superman 2. Actors, Mike. Not actresses. Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act. Probably not. It's a common name. Melissa Etheridge in... Had a very bad comedy movie come out. Matthew McConaughey. Keanu Reeves in Feeling, Minnesota. Adam Stanley. But you're getting there.
Yeah, him. Yeah, put him on the board. Get it? Christopher. I got it. Christopher Walken at close range. Oh, nice. Christopher Reeve somewhere in time. Eddie again. What? That can't be too soon. That is too soon. What? That is just communist Russia. Can I tell you number four? No. Give us one. Give us one. Well, there's only one left. Oh, Harvey Corbin and high anxiety. That's it. I forgot. Oh, Harvey Keitel and bad lieutenant. That's creepy. Number four is Mike Myers, who made $55 million last year. For what? In what? Love guru. Okay, the ladies, the actresses. Okay, now, Mike. Olivia Newton, John, Grease 2. Nicole Kidman. She wasn't in Grease 2. Fine. Reese Witherspoon. Reese Witherspoon is number four. I got it. 25 million last year. Estelle Gedeon, stop or my mom will shoot. Too soon? Too soon? Really? Oh, my gosh. No. I mean.
She just died on Tuesday. I don't understand when it's okay and when it's not. It's pretty much never okay. Okay. Shirley MacLaine in Cannonball Run 2. Anyone? Ellen Page. Ellen DeGeneres. Christina Applegate in Don't Tell Mom to Babysit is Dead. Nice. Drew Barrymore in Firestarter. Sky, give me one. Cameron Diaz. Okay. Eddie, Cameron Diaz, number one, making 50 million. She made the most money out of all the actresses last year. For what? Something about Mary? What was she in? Yes, Rob. She was in What Happens in Vegas. She was in that? I don't even know what that is. Okay. So you're missing number two, number three, and number five.
Barbara Streisand, nuts. Jessica Alba. Sharon Moonstruck. Nick Cage and Moonstruck. That shoe face Sarah Jessica Parker. Helen Hunt, twister. Kate Blanchett. What'd you say? Kate Blanchett. Julia Roberts? I said that. Sorry. Did anyone say a stalker? Susan Sarandon. Oh, what about Susan Sarandon? It's her stab at obscurity. It made her laugh. That's all that matters. What about Reese Witherspoon? I already said that. Did anybody check Reese Witherspoon? Did anybody check Reese Witherspoon? What about Cameron Diaz? Dakota Fanning. Oh, look at this. Ashley, you're terrible. She just IM'd me. Shut up.
Terry Shivo. The Ash Room. We could be the most inappropriate. Son of a God. It happened almost three years ago. It's too soon. I mean, you have some nerve. Paris Hilton, House of Wax. Oh, yeah. Oh, nice. Sky, did you hear that one? Beyonce. I heard it. Beyonce? What? She's in that one movie. What? I give up. Tara Reid. Number five. Louise Richards. Gwyneth Paltrow making $25 million. Oh, Gwyneth Paltrow. Number three. Jennifer Aniston making $27 million. Wait, you're going too fast. Yeah, slow down. We're not even having a chance here to breathe. Lance Bass. Lance Bass. Yes. Zoolander. Yeah, she was a Zoolander. And then finally. LeRain Gray from Jaws. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Please. Eddie. Is he nuts? Lorraine Gray. Is he nuts? She was in Jaws, Jaws 2. All right. Jaws 3. I know she was in the Jaws for the Revenge. That's right. That time it was personal. That's enough. Michael Keane. Okay. And finally we have... Ellen Brody. Keira Knightley, number two, making $32 million last year. What about Diane Cannon, Death Trap? Mike, the list is over. Wrong. The list is live.
What? That's a legitimate question. Marsha Gay Harden. Eddie. Academy Award winner. We have to take a timeout. No, I've got to figure out the rest of the list. Marsha Mason, the goodbye girl. Okay. That's a fetch. Quick timeout, ladies and gentlemen. Julian's Victor Victoria. Stop it right now. Back after this. Infused face paint. Wright presents of Genie. We salute you. Mr. Stadium Scoreboard Marriage Proposal Guy. Mr. Stadium Scoreboard Marriage Proposal. You've combined the three things you love most in this world. She's in the bathroom. Or she says no. Pretty.
So crack open a nice cold Bud Light, Mr. Bachelor, on the big screen. And remember that even if she says no, we'll always... Mr. Stadium's COVID-19 for the... I'm the chicken man. Did you guys know that Sky went and saw Phantom of the Opera? Excuse me? I sure did. When did you see it, Sky? Last night, Mike. How was it? It was awesome, dude. That's impossible. What do you mean impossible? I think we were supposed to go see that with my mother-in-law. I don't know what happened. Was it at San Diego Civic Center or whatever? The Civic Theater. It's a national tour of Phantom of the Opera. So good. Everything about it was so good. They do the chandelier falling thing? Yeah, dude. The chandelier was awesome. Crazy, yeah. Yeah, it was kind of loud. Did you cry? I didn't cry. Well, there were some moments. There were definitely a lot of chills. I got the chills a lot. Dude. From the voice. Oh, it's like, yeah. Queerness. How can a human being make such a beautiful sound? The absolute gayness. You know? It's crazy. It was so awesome. How many times have you seen that? Well...
Strange reaction. Just answer it. It's a very straightforward question. It should be easy. Well, that is my second time seeing Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera. Before you saw Stephen Lloyd Webber. Tim Curry's. Me and my mom, we love the music of Phantom of the Opera. And last year we got tricked into something that we thought was Phantom of the Opera. And it wasn't. Yeah. It was a gay production. No, it was at the Escondido Center for the Performing Arts, and they called it The Phantom, but they used, like, the same artwork as Phantom of the Opera, and it was the same story, but all the music was different. Did you guys leave? No. No, we didn't leave. We watched it. Yeah, we stayed and watched, but it definitely wasn't what I saw last time. The music of the night? Oh, dude, the music of the night. Sing it, Mike. Beautiful. Like I was there. Yeah, it was great. It was my first time at the Civic Theater, and I can't wait to go back. It was really, it was so much fun. I'm getting scared. I had to watch that thing like three times before I liked it. Really? Yeah, I didn't get it, you know. I don't get stuff. You guys know this about me. I don't get stuff. I've been through this.
Yeah. Especially when they're, like, singing the plot. Oh, yeah, right. All I knew was there was this guy, and he was real weird, and he had a messed up face, and he liked this girl, and she, like, had a boyfriend already or something. Her name's Christine, yeah. Yeah, it was really hard to get. I feel you, dude. But then after I saw it, like, three times, I started to get the music, like, I understood the, you know, music. The music of the night. The music of the night. I am whipped and I love it. I'm not even relevant to right now. This isn't even a pie. I'm not queen-like. What are you talking about? Guys, I am now going to read from Ashley's email about what she did yesterday. This is Rob's favorite part of the show. Arronious, it's not. She says, yesterday I was craving Taco Bell. But, Mike. Eddie, of course. I don't. Eddie, of course. I don't know. Eddie, of course. I can't help myself. She says. Oh, no. She says she's allergic to Mexican food. Mike, it's like it hurts, but it feels so good. You know what I mean? I can't help it. She says she got Eddie. She's allergic to Mexican food. She says, I got a bean burrito. You know, it hurts, but it feels so good. She says, I got a bean burrito with a side of nachos. Oh, my God. I tried the new side of nachos.
little 79 cent side and you just get the chips and cheese and then I take the bean burrito and dip it into the cheese as well. But Eddie she's allergic she says. It makes me sick Mike. I still do it. So sick you eat it all the time. I still do it. It's like you know D&M it's like you're into it but it hurts. Anybody? D&M. Is that what it's called that like you like the pain? S&M? Yes. I know it hurts, but it feels so good. DVDs. I can't. You're smart. Is she out of her mind? It's your girl, Skye. Skye's girl. Skye, that's your girl. How did that just happen? She's trying to make an analogy. Does she not know what the word analogy means? Stop. because it's creeping me out. I know it's going to make me sick, but it tastes so good. Like, my Taco Bell is so good. I want a reality show where Ashley and Sean have to live together. Please. Best friends. Not going to happen. BFF. That's the name of the sitcom. I love it. Must see TV. On an all-new Sean and Ashley.
There you go. Let's see. What am I missing? Oh, yeah. Hey, front page of the paper. Cancer experts warning against cell phones. No. Here we go. So the director of the University of Pittsburgh's Cancer Institute sent a memo. to his 3,000 faculty and staff, you know, the people that work there, and basically said, yeah, early unpublished research shows that using a cell phone increases your risk of cancer, especially children. He says no children should use cell phones unless it's a dire emergency. And if you as an adult have to use a cell phone, you should use a speakerphone feature and not hold it directly to your head. What's it going to do? Now, previous research does not find any link between cell phone use and brain tumors. And the Food and Drug Administration says that if there is a risk, it's probably very small. But according to this expert, he says, no, don't do it. Don't risk it. It's true. Can that guy give me a break already? Thank you. He's trying to help you. But, I mean, come on, man.
We can't do anything without it causing cancer. Everything causes cancer. Seriously. What's next? TiVo? Yeah, exactly. TiVo causes cancer. Everything. How about people get cancer and that's why? That's why. Well, you know what I mean? Tupperware causes cancer. Blogging causes cancer. You know why? Because they found out that people that have cancer also have Tupperware. Well, if you microwave it and eat out of it, yeah. What's wrong with that? Well, certain kinds of plastic shouldn't go in the microwave because when they heat up, your food absorbs it. It's called flavor. Sky, what else? What's really big? What did I miss that's pretty interesting? Well, we talked about Comic-Con starting today. That's a big deal. That's a pretty big thing out there. Yeah, there's this interesting story of Matthew McConaughey. And when his girlfriend gave birth, they finally released the pictures of their newborn baby boy, Levi. They had a deal with OK Magazine. And he says that he got pretty primal. He got some primal feelings during his son's birth.
So when his girlfriend's water broke and her contractions started, he said he sat there with her right between her legs. No, no, no, no, no. And they started playing this native Brazilian music and, like, dancing around all tribal because she's about to give birth to life. That dude is crazy. He's got real issues. Yeah. Because you shouldn't have to do that. Kids, listen, that's what happens when you spoke too much weed. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. That's right. And they were really, really bummed because they wanted natural childbirth. Like, that was their plan. That's what they wanted to do. But I guess the baby had the cord wrapped around his neck, so they had to do a C-section and get the baby out. Well, it's everybody's plan to do natural childbirth until they feel it. Yeah. Oh, that hurts. Ow. Ouch. Give me the thing. Yeah, needle. Right. Kneel back. Stick the needle in my spine. And then give me the appetizer platter. That's right. Give me the appetizer. That's exactly what happened to my wife, man. That's the funniest story ever. She was in some serious, you know, she wanted to do it just normally, have Jake just normally. And it started to hurt. But it started to hurt real bad. So she said, stick that sucker in my spine. And they did. And she was like, let's go have the appetizer platter downtown at LG's. Give me the wagon wheels.
I think we hit the big stuff, man. We got to the big stuff. And there was one more thing just to kind of warn people out there. There is a boil water order issued for Ramona because of caca water. Are you serious? Yeah, well, because of coliform bacteria found in the water. Don't exactly know where it came from. But so they're warning customers of the Rancho Santa Teresa Municipal Water Company in Ramona. that there is a boil water order in effect. So gross. That is so gross. Okay. Turn off the sink. Turn the sink off. Mike, you know Seth has been farting in here when you've been gone. Are you serious? Yeah, it's really upsetting. I can't believe you just threw him under the bus. That was brutal. There's a lady here. You weren't in here. She wasn't in here.
On your seat. Yeah, on your chair, Mike. How do you like me now, Mike? Hey, don't think of him any less. Come on. Let me tell you something. You better get that out of your system, bro. I'm doing it for your safety, Mike. That ain't happening when I'm there. Sean, you okay? Look at Sean with his mouth gaping. He is horrified. Sean is horrified. To his defense, it was funny. No, it was not funny. It was. You weren't even here. Afterbirth. God, you're so shocking. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call at the beginning of the show. Let the romance begin. 570-1053 is our phone number.
Beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment. You can call in about anything you want. So give us a call right now. Wrap her up. Wrap Mike. That's right. Tomorrow's Friday already. That's right. Tomorrow on the show, we're going to have something called Whatcha Doing at Comic Con. Yeah. Should be fun. Yeah. Awesome. And you guys doing anything fun this weekend? You guys got any plans? No, I got to unpack all my stuff. Well, I know. Most of us want to go see Step Brothers. It's something we want to schedule. Pencil it in. A little John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell action. Anybody calling, Rob? You got every line lit. KIA! Sean! I mean... Can somebody please pull him aside? Listen, Eddie, I'm trying to understand. I mean...
It's not funny to anybody but him. Mike, he's out of control. I don't get it. He's power hungry. Those sound effects have gone to his head. He's lost his mind. You're fired. You're fired. Hey, guess who's back on the line? Who? Hello? Yes, I'm on the phone. Please don't let this happen. That's my dog. That's my dog. Well, I'm speechless now. Apparently. My phone answering equipment was working for so long, my software to be able to answer the phone from home was working, and now it's not. Let's just have Zeth hit a line for me. All right, here you go. Mikey Show, hello. This is P1, Nick. I did. Oh, how dare you. I've already said that. Well said. So have I. All right, here we go again. Mikey Show, hello. Totally, Mikey. What's happening? What's going on, dude?
Hey, man, I was just thinking, you guys used to do Ashley's inner child, man. I wanted to know if you could bring back some of those skits. That was funny. Oh, my gosh. Ashley's inner child. That sounds so familiar. I don't even remember it. I have no idea what that is. You used to do that high-pitched voice to make fun of Ashley? I think that's just their impersonation. It was the same voice, but a little bit higher. I think that was just your impersonation of Ashley. No, that sounds... But that sounds oddly familiar. Like, maybe we did it one time? I think we might have done it one time, Mike. I think we did. We made Ashley mad a couple times. Oh, man. I don't even remember what the bit was. Wow. That's crazy. I don't remember what we said, anything. All right. Next line. Mikey Show. Hello. Hey, what's going on with the phone lines, homie? Dude, you tell me. I can't figure it out. Come on, Shauna. Get on somebody, please. Oh, man. Listen. I've been complaining about the phone lines forever. Line two doesn't work. The whole station just needs... Every piece of equipment needs to be replaced. Come on. I'm trying to tell you a story and I got kicked off. Is this Ayo? Of course that's my boy. What's up? What's up, fool? What's up? What it do? Shamon. Shamon. What's going on, Ayo? Chillin', man. I got a couple stories for you guys. You know what I mean? If I can stay on the phone line longer. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know how you do.
Do it, bro. Do it. All right. So anyways, you know, I was a little young gun. I'm on bicycle ride and got my headphones. You know, Bob, I'm about to head to the little corner store to go get a Slurpee or something like that. Right. And I'm going to our intersection, you know, riding along my own business. And this tank comes out of nowhere. And I scream like a little girl. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like, I didn't even go. Stop. I'm not going to keep going on. You see that big tank coming down the street? Play chicken with the tank. Yeah, man. This was actually the tank that went down the street in 1995 down the 163, and it went right by you or what? Yes, sir. Remember when it left the armory? Yeah. I was at the corner, and I didn't even see. I wasn't paying attention because, you know, sometimes they take some of the military trucks or whatever. They drive them in and out, so I wasn't even really paying attention. And I'm riding down the street on my bike, and out of the corner of my eye, I see this big thing, and I was like, ah! And I just stopped. But no, how did you really scream? Pardon me? How did you really scream? How did you really do it, yeah.
Hold on one second. The other day, check me out, check me out. The other day, you know, the Comic-Con tickets been sold out and everything. Yeah, yeah. Right. Pardon me, I had to go hit up a scalper. So I'm like, all right, I'm going to go talk to this guy. So I get to the point where we're supposed to meet up and things like that. And I call my boy and I'm like, hey, what's going on? He was like, nothing. I was like, hey, I need you to come over here. Because I'm about to buy some Comic-Con tickets. And he was like, oh, okay, that's cool. Because I got to sell them to this one guy anyway. So my boy comes and hangs out with me. And I'm not even paying attention. So I'm like, this guy's all late. And so I called my boy. Well, not my boy, but I called the cell phone. And my boy's other cell phone rings. I'm like, you got to be kidding me right now. He was like, that's not you. And I was like, I hope it's not after the phone. He picks it up. He's like, hello? I'm like, oh, you got to be kidding me. He was like, yeah. I'm like, you're cold as ice, man. Don't be selling me no tickets. Let me have them for free. He was like, no. I'm not going to Comic Con and my boy came up on 250 bucks on some other guy. Oh, well, it is what it is. How was your surgery? It went good, man. I'm feeling all right. I'm going to be back in the studio. I'm doing the show from home right now, but I'll be back in the studio on Monday and it'll be all good. That's what's up. I'm going to get offline, but I'm just giving you a prediction right now within next month.
I plan on winning P1 trivia and come in and hang out in the studio with Seth. Yes, yes, yes. Don't worry about it. Hey, do you not have tickets to Comic-Con or what? Nah, man, absolutely not. I was trying to get some, but I mean, it's too close. Let's set you up, dude. We'll set you up. Zeth, put him on hold. Put him on hold. Let's give him some tickets. Hang on, dude. Hey, let's see here. I know, wasn't that great? That's hysterical. It was the best. Hey, P1 Nick, are you there? I am. Go ahead. I just wanted to personally thank Eddie for this morning's tough love. I'm a San Diego resident all my life, and I moved up here to Riverside County. And all my coworkers listen to those weak radio stations from out here. I'm the only one in my office who will listen to the Mikey show in the morning, and everybody gives a rap about it.
Well, it was my day to take over the radio inside the warehouse. I put it on for everybody to listen to since 5.30 this morning, and my boss put out a memo around 8.30, 9 o'clock, stating, if the radio station is changed from 1.05 through, you will be written up and sent home. Yes! Now the radio has to say, Sky. Awesome! It's good. Wow. That is good. I love it, dude. Money. That is a good boss. He is. He's the nicest guy. And I finally got my chance to take over the radio and not hear any complaints about it. And of all days, it was a Thursday and I knew it was coming. I can hear him pass down the hallways from his office. You're welcome, San Diego. Very nice. Thank you very much. Not a problem. Appreciate it. Appreciate it. All right, man. Thanks. P1 Casey, you're our last call. Bring us home. Hi. I've been listening to you guys for a while.
Thank you so much. You make my commute drivable. That is so cool. Nice. Thank you. When I first started to drive, I was listening to CDs. And, you know, CDs get old after about 30 minutes. And my boyfriend was like, hey, there's this show called Mikey Morning Show. And I'm like, why would I want to listen to a bunch of people talk about their home lives? But I started listening. And it's like you guys aren't. self-centered. You talk about stuff that I actually want to know about, and you have made the commute worth doing. It's just a really, really great weekend, and I'm in a really great mood. Oh, that's cool. Well, thank you so much. Casey, we appreciate that very much. Thank you for calling in. Of course. Thanks for having your radio show. You got it. You got it. All right, we got to get out of here. The lovely and talented Missy is coming up next today. What does she have? Today she has a little something called Lost and Found. So make sure you're listening. She's going to be playing stuff that hasn't been on the radio for a long time. You can call in and request stuff if you want to. And we'll be back here tomorrow. It'll be Friday. We'll have Rob doing a little Whatcha Doing at Comic Con. And it'll be real nice. So we'll talk to you tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show's out late.
