Mikey turned an ugly lane-merging encounter into an argument with Eddie about courtesy, then joined Eddie and Sky in telling caller Ryan not to keep risking his reputation for an unreliable friend. P1 Raider Hater described cooking for Chargers receiver Chris Chambers, while Eddie recounted performing unsuccessful needle surgery on a sea-urchin wound. Dr. Ryan Johnson challenged Jaws-style fears with firsthand stories of uncaged great whites, and the studio's Battle of the Sexes unraveled when Ashley's wrong Who's the Boss answer gave the men the win. Boston Rob supplied the comedy by interviewing wolf-headed, Ninja Turtle, Mario, and vampire-rights characters at Comic-Con, while Mikey debated Sky over Barack Obama's Iraq timetable and the group debated whether the Union-Tribune could survive online. The show ended on a serious note as Mikey described the damage caused by his alcoholism and credited faith in Jesus Christ with his recovery.
What happened, in order
The hostile merge
Mikey said a truck driver mocked his polite request to merge near a Vista Staples, prompting a debate with Eddie about courtesy, aggression, and refusing to answer meanness with more meanness.
Cooking for Chris Chambers
P1 Raider Hater, a culinary-school graduate named Shane, explained that he became Chargers receiver Chris Chambers's personal chef and now cooks him seafood and pasta several times a week.
Sea urchin surgery
After a sea urchin stabbed his finger in Hawaii, Eddie sterilized a needle and dug into the swollen skin himself, only to find that the irritating fragment had apparently vanished.
Stop vouching for him
When 19-year-old Ryan asked whether to keep offering work to a struggling friend who repeatedly canceled, Mikey, Eddie, and Sky told him to stop because the friend did not want the job and could damage Ryan's reputation.
Inside Sharkville
Shark researcher Dr. Ryan Johnson described swimming uncaged with great whites, being battered by a panicked shark during a bite-meter test, and watching bioluminescent sharks hunt seals at midnight in South Africa.
Battle of the Sexes collapse
The Battle of the Sexes ended when Ashley ignored Team Sass's demand that she answer only when completely certain, guessed Michael for Angela's son on Who's the Boss, and handed Team Awesome the sudden-death win.
Seacrest answers directly
The hosts played Terry Moran asking Ryan Seacrest whether he was gay, heard Seacrest answer that he was straight, and then joked about his mother's description of his ideal woman.
Grey Poupon gun
A Salt Lake City report said Vitaly Kovtun pulled and racked a handgun at teenagers who jokingly asked him for Grey Poupon, leading to an aggravated-assault charge despite his concealed-weapons permit.
Obama withdrawal argument
Mikey argued that Barack Obama had replaced an unrealistic 90-day Iraq withdrawal promise with a 16-month phased plan, while Sky noted that candidates change positions and questioned whether he meant combat troops.
Boston Rob at Comic-Con
Boston Rob interviewed costumed Comic-Con attendees including a Cheyenne dog soldier in a real wolf head, an Edward Scissorhands barber, a Ninja Turtle, homemade Mario characters, and a promoter collecting signatures for
Can newspapers survive online?
News that the Union-Tribune's owner might sell the paper sparked an argument over moving entirely online, followed by Ashley admitting that she rarely reads even the articles and books her mother sends her.
Mikey's testimony
Mikey closed the Friday show by recounting how alcoholism continued even after his tearful father threatened to end their relationship and saying that his faith in Jesus Christ ultimately gave him recovery and hope.

Yeah. The government's done tests. That is true. Nothing conclusive. We're okay. We're okay. I'm nervous. We're not okay. Sky, Seth, and the P1s are going to have a good time today. Who is the supermodel in black today, ladies and gentlemen? Let's take a look at Sky. Let's see. Didn't know this was a formal affair. Ah, yes. Just a t-shirt, guys. That is not a t-shirt, Eddie. He's talking about his t-shirt, Mike. Because he's wearing a black t-shirt.
That's what Mike's talking about. Well, they planned it. Eddie assumed I meant him, but I was actually talking about Sky. Oh, well, I'm wearing black. I think we're both looking very nice today. Thank you. That's right. Black Friday. Both of you were black. Uh-huh. I didn't get that. Hey, where's Rob's camera? Why is Rob's camera not working? Why is Zeth's camera not working? They're slackers, Mike. They're slackers. Okay. You guys just sitting around doing nothing, twiddling your thumbs. Oh, Willie, Willie. Whatever. Just the camera, Rob. Adjust the camera. Rob always shows me like from his eyeballs up. Yeah. You got to point it way down. Well, someone, whenever I come in here, someone like has ripped it off the top of the monitor. Like someone's uncomfortable with having a camera up. Yeah, I noticed that about all the cameras in the studio.
Yeah. People adjust the cameras? Well, they, like, take them down. Like, they think that even when they're off, maybe they're still being streamed on the Internet somehow. And so they're always, like, taken off the top of the computers and, like, face down. Rolling on the floor. Yeah, right. You can never be too safe. Well, remember what happened to your co-worker in Texas? I mean, I guess. Remember? There was a webcam up from the morning show. And she came in and she had just had a baby. She didn't realize the webcam was up and started pumping her breasts. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. Is there anywhere we can see that from? Oh, Sean. Oh, Sean. Come on. Sean, for the P1s, I mean. Question, Seania boy. You put Ashley up in the main camera. I love it. And it's frozen. It's frozen, really? Not for me, it's not. For us, it is. That's weird.
When Sean starts switching the cameras around, it freezes. All hell breaks loose. That's right. So now we're like 30 seconds behind watching Ashley put lip gloss on. That is annoying. Thank you. Thank you. Shawnee, oh boy. Crazy. Crazy nuts. You know that we... Do you know that there's a guy... Works for ABC's Nightline named Terry Moran. And this guy got the rocks up. Ask Seacrest if he's gay. That can't be true. That's a true story. Come on. And we got the audio of it. And let me tell you, I'm making you wait. That is not a lie. I like to delay my gratification. I agree with you. I'm sorry. I'm telling you. I mean, my eyes popped out of my head. I went, come on. Nobody.
does that. Wow. Nobody's got the rocks to actually do that. And he did. I can't wait. Yeah. I don't know. Anything else you want to talk about? Yes, that. That's it. Ashley's camera is still way behind. Sean, do you know how to fix that? Yeah. Just put your cursor over her video window and you'll see two icons pop up on the left-hand side. One looks like a little person. I know that that's... Click it one time and then click it one more time. But that doesn't happen in the main window. Just keep clicking. I only get the little speaker. I don't get the little man. Well, in the main window, you should have me in there. If you don't, hover over mine, and on the right-hand side, there's a little arrow. Hit that little arrow, and it'll put me in the window. You are in the main window, but you're really behind. Everybody is. Like that thing you're talking about, the little man, that's in all the little windows on the right, but in the main window, that doesn't exist. Okay, hold on.
Hey, little man. Little man. Is there a way to make it exist in the main window? No. Yeah, same. So then there's nothing I can do about catching up the main window. I'm fixing it for you. Relax. Oh, no. It's Friday. I'll see you guys on Monday. Okay. Oh, man. Hang on. I got to go to the printer. I'll be right back. You guys talk amongst yourselves. Just tell each other how much you love each other. I don't know. I don't know if I can go there. You can't do that. I'd rather talk about something else. Like what? Hang up a topic. Your soapy. Oh, wait. We already covered that. That's already been covered thoroughly. Let's talk about Ashley's top. Why? I love it. You are very summertime Barbie right now. Okay. Very cute. Very purple and very strapless. Are you uncomfortable? Extraordinarily strapless. Looking good. Looking good. Thank you. Let's get the show on the road. What do you guys say? Yeah. Everything's working. My printer has got black ink back in it. It goes through black ink every couple of days. Strangest thing. Yesterday, this affected my day. Yesterday, I went to Staples. I was originally going to go to Fry's. Okay.
It was like a few miles away. I had to jump on the freeway and go to the Fry's, and I was in Vista, and I'm not really very familiar with Vista. And so I'm going to get on the freeway, and right as I'm going to get on the freeway and drive six, seven miles to this Fry's, I see right over the freeway a Staples. I go, oh, that's what I'll do instead. But I need to get over into the lane next to me. Now, this has happened to all of us, especially when you don't know an area and you're not very familiar. And so I look, you know, and we're stopped because there's a red light. So I look over next to me at the lane to my left, and there is a truck, and the front of their truck is about where my bumper is, okay? And the vehicle in front of them is a pretty wide space, you know, a good, like, 40 feet.
You know, like a pretty big space on that 40 feet. I don't know. I can't calculate. It was about the length of my car. Okay. Okay. So a good amount of space. So I want to ask the lady that's driving that truck, can I get over? You know what I mean? Sure. You guys ever been in that situation before? You put the blinker on? What I did is I rolled my window down. And I kind of looked out, and I did with my index finger and mouth, can I get in here? Yeah. Now, are you going right or left? I'm going left. Okay. I need to get over into the left lane instead of being in the right lane. Right, right, right. And so I give her the index finger pointing at the lane, and I'm mouthing, can I get in there? And she is wearing glasses. She's driving a big truck, big four-wheeler. And she just looks at me. She's looking at me through the sunglasses, but she's not saying or doing anything. A little bit confused because I can't see her eyes. So I'm assuming she's looking at me, but I'm not sure because she's not responding. Right. And so for that split second, I'm confused. I don't know how to proceed. And so I kind of point a little bit to it again and mouth again. Can I get in there?
And now she looks at me and she puts her hands up, palms up like towards the roof of her car. Do you get that? What that looks like? Oh, yeah. And she does this very sort of mocking thing like, oh, what do you want? I don't know what to do. Oh, no. Whoa. My feelings. It's a stranger. And what was so creepy about it was it's the polar opposite of. my reaction when somebody wants to get over right i'm always really willing to let people get over because i've been there and so i was like it was kind of shocking i've never had anybody be upset or angry i've had people pretend they don't see you so that they don't have to let you in oh yeah that's always a good one but i've never exactly had the the whole uh well i see you but
I'm irritated by you. But I hate you. But I hate you. I hate your guts. And there's no chance she was saying, I don't understand what you're trying to say to me? Oh, no, no. Okay, there's no way that that could have been. Oh, no, no, no, no. I don't know any of this. It was a very clear, like, you'd have to see my face doing it. But it was like, really? And like putting her hands up, like, you know, even to like mimic it. Oh, I don't know what to do. And then she was also doing with her hand back and forth between her and the car in front of me like. And so the light turned green and I thought, well, I'm just going to make this as painless for you as possible and try to be on my way as quickly as I can. But it was with me for. A good half hour where I would forget about it and then all of a sudden I'd think about it and go, man, that was mean. So you didn't react back? Uh-uh. No, I didn't want to be mean back. I definitely didn't want to be mean back. I would have got out of my car. Eddie, stop it. I probably would have. I couldn't think of how to be like really nice because that's what I would have wanted.
left her with. I would have wanted to leave her with trying to be nice. Kill her with kindness. Yeah. Listen. This is the reason I'm telling the story. If you're ever in that position where somebody wants in, let them in. And I'll tell you why. Because they might be letting you in sometime. And if it isn't them, it might be somebody. Because I didn't know the area. And I had I mean, if I could say anything to her, if she's listening, my deal would be I didn't know the area and I messed up and I'm sorry. But but let people in, you know, because you might be in an area where you don't know the area and some and you might need. somebody will let you in. You just got to be more aggressive, Mike. Just get in there. That's how San Diego drivers are. I did. I got in there. I tried to do it quick. But here's the thing. I used to be very aggressive. And so had I seen that before, if she had done that before, I would have made sure that I mouthed something that she understood.
I don't live that way anymore. And I'm better off for it. And I'll tell you this. If I had done that, it would have stayed with me a lot longer than a half an hour. Yeah, but I don't think that's what they mean by being aggressive. That's being mean. What they mean by being aggressive is throw your blinker on and put half your car in that spot. Yeah, just take the initiative. And then once the light turns green, fill it up. Hang out the window. No, I don't mean literally. I mean, roll your window down and hang your arm out the window. Like, you know, you're going to what? I don't know. It's magic. I don't know why it works. It does. I don't think that there's, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I don't think there's anything wrong with doing that. The reason that I do, the reason that I did it the way that I did it, and I would still do it that way again, is because. My attempt is to be courteous. My attempt is to do something in a way where I'm saying, excuse me, I don't just want to butt in there. Can you let me in? And it also gives somebody the opportunity to show a little bit of kindness. That always makes me feel good. When somebody gives me the heads up and I'm able to say, yeah, yeah, go ahead. It makes me kind of feel good for a split second. But anyway, that was my little story from yesterday.
Let's go around the room and introduce everybody. I'm broadcasting from home, but today's the last day I do that. And I'll be in the studio on Monday. Yeah, that was weird. That effect. Well, you know, Sean likes it when, you know, human beings are in their place, you know, because Sean is a germaphobe. Oh. He didn't like to touch, you know, skin or people or anything. Get over it. Gross. So. Let's do some introductions and then dive right in. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 38 and I have a shaved head and I just had surgery. Shawnee, oh boy, or excuse me, Eddie is our producer and our sports guy and he is 35 years of age and I've known Eddie for, I've known Eddie for, if I were to figure it out, in actual... 75 years? 75 years. I believe this would be... What is this, our platinum animal spirit? That's right.
We have actually known each other for 33 years. We've actually known one another for 33 years, Eddie and I. Wow. We grew up in Gilroy, California, which Eddie, he still has, you know, fondness in his heart for. Gorgeous. Gilroy. That's right. Gorgeous, he calls it. You know, I call it gangland. No. You haven't been there in years. It's totally renovated. That's true. I have not. It could be shiny and new. It's beautiful. What they've done with First Street, dude. What do they do? They put in a bunch of new stuff. There's a wienerschnitzel there now. Nothing can be bad with a wienerschnitzel. Does Monterey Street still look like a maze? Listen, I don't go to that part of town. Come on. I'm not Mexican enough. There you go.
Skye is our news girl. She is 30 years of age and she's wearing black today. And she is going shoulderless. Yeah. She's headed to the Oscars after this. I'm going to the Oscars. I don't understand what any of this means. Just kind of like a tank top, everybody. By the way, open phone lines if you want to call us. 570-1053 is our phone number. So call us if you want to. Beginning and end of every show, open phones. And I actually have the ability to answer those phone calls from the house. Yes, I'm on the phone. Okay. All right. Call screener information in front of me. I can see you. So 570-1053. Give us a call. If you want to text us, our text number is 35253. And we'd love to hear from you on text message as well. Sean is our sound effects man. He's 38 years old. He's wearing a white T-shirt. That's right. He's very tall. It's an undershirt, but yeah. Ashley is our assistant producer. She's 25. She's got on a strapless purple number today. Sky's date to the Oscars. We are a couple today.
Hey, Sky, does that type of top, does that have a name? Is that like a girl in girl language? If a girl was talking to another girl and said, I want to go get a... Does that thing have a name? No, I think you did good. Just a strapless purple little number. It's a tube top. There you go. It's a tube top. Oh, a tube top. I don't think it is either. I don't think it is either, and I don't know anything. What's a tube top? It's just like a... tube. Yeah, tube top exposes your belly button and your whole stomach and all that. Boston Rob is our phone screener. He's also a singer-songwriter. That's right. He is wearing Boston Celtics stuff because he really likes to support those Boston teams. And he's getting married. He doesn't know when. And so, therefore, we don't know when. He doesn't have a date picked. And so, you Maybe he's just waiting for the right suggestion from one of you guys. I don't know. Anything else you want to talk about? And then there is Roosevelt. Oh. Look at him. The third. Junior. Esquire. MD. Man, what a gorgeous beard that guy has. Thanks. Look at that. I'm working on it. Nice. What's going on there, Zeth? Just sheer laziness, Mike. There you go. Just letting the facial hair grow out. Yeah.
And ladies and gentlemen, the illustrious Chantel. Oh, look at her. Look at her. Look at me. She is a former Charger girl and she is absolutely gorgeous. And you can see her on MikeyShow.com. And yeah, she's very cool. She comes in and she plays a little Battle of the Sexes with us, which we're going to be doing just a little bit later on. Wow. Are you getting the itch? Man, we're like a... Two weeks away from preseason. Yeah. Oh, you know. Oh, are you sad? Not yet. I think when I go to a game, I might be. Yeah. Because you're not a Charger girl this year anymore. Yeah. Spectator. Are those Charger girls real busy doing stuff right now in terms of, like, working out and learning stuff? Yes. This is the busiest time. Learn so much. So, Chantel, isn't it weird to not be...
doing that? It's weird, but I like it because I can do whatever I want. I don't have to go to practice or report to anybody. I can just go out all the time in the middle of the night. He's the Amy Winehouse. You know what else Chantel could do? If she wanted to, if she was asked out by a player, she could go out with him. I could. You could, but you wouldn't. What if he was a real nice guy? Doesn't happen much. Honesty is her best policy. We also have some P1 trivia winners in the studio. And I'm talking about P1 Jason, P1 Kevin, P1 Patrick, and P1 Raider Hater. They're all in the studio right now, so hello to you guys, man. It's very cool to have them in here. And they won through various different ways of getting into the studio. P1 trivia and...
Some of them have special circumstances and were allowed to come in. P1, Kevin is legally blind. Is that right? Can Kevin hear me, by the way? Kevin, can you hear me? Yes, I can. I am legally blind. You are legally blind. And is that since birth or did that develop over time? It developed over time. It started when I was in about second grade and I couldn't see the board. And it degressed until seventh grade. Right now I have contacts and I have 2250 vision. So you can actually see some stuff. Yeah, I can see everything. You can see it's just way blurrier. Oh, so I'm looking good then. Oh, wow. Yes, you are, actually. Now, Kevin, how much do the contacts correct? Without my contacts, I have about 2,600 vision, so they correct a lot. Wow. Well, that is cool. And you are a State Park employee. Yes, sir. I work at Doheny State Park in Dana Point, California. What is your job to do in that? What do you actually do? I work at the entrance kiosk, and I take money from people. Kiosk? Well, that's cool. I just deal with angry people.
You deal with the lady in the truck. Well, thank you, Kevin. Thanks for coming in. P1 Jason's a civil contractor. P1 Patrick is also a state park aide. And P1 Shane is a personal chef. And let's see. Shane, are you there? Can I talk to P1 Raider Hater? P1 Raider Hater, let's get you over to a microphone. Am I allowed to say who you are a personal chef for? Yeah. P1 Raider Hater is a personal chef for San Diego Charger Chris Chambers. Get out of here. No way. How cool is that? Dude. That's crazy. Chris is relatively new to town. So how did that come about?
My wife and I go and work out at Fitness Quest, and his wife works out there, and one of the trainers asked if I had a card because a client needed a chef. There you go. What's he like to eat? Yeah. Real simple. He likes seafood, pasta, nothing complicated, but it's a lot of fun just to work with him. I bet. Shane, what kind of training do you have to have? to do what you do, especially to become a chef on a personal chef level? I went to culinary school, worked with some good chefs, and just realized I'd like to kind of do this on my own. Sick of being yelled at by... Chef Ramsey's a bit. Basically. That's basically how it is. You know you're going to get yelled at, so you just kind of wee chef and keep working. Right. Yeah, a lot of stress built up. I was just about to get married, and my wife and I decided I'm just going to start my own business, and stress levels dropped. I work a few days a week. That's pretty cool. You donkey! Donkey! P1 Raider Hater, let me ask you. As a personal chef, do you prepare the meals, take them to Chris, or are you there on a daily basis actually cooking at his home?
A few times a week. Just go in there, make him dinner, a few courses. Okay, so it's not like you set him up for the week. You just make a few meals a week. He has him that day and that's it? Yes, and then I pack a lunch for the next day and keep him going. That's pretty cool, man. Wow. Oh, man. To have a personal chef, right? Right? Yes. And get to pick all the kinds of different things you want to eat. And if you want to eat healthy, you just say, hey, get me skinny. That'd be cool. That'd be cool. All right. Well, hey, thank you, P1 Raider Hater. That's pretty cool stuff. Thank you. All right. So 5701053 is our phone number. Eddie's giving me the break sign. We have to take a timeout. However, we got good stuff today. Comic-Con has kicked off, man. Comic-Con has kicked off. And so we did a little... Like you're doing at Comic-Con. Oh, yeah. Get ready. So that's coming up. We're going to be doing that. And we've got so much cool stuff for you today. Don't go away. And our phone number, again, 570-1053. Give us a call. You can text us at 35253. We would love to hear from you via text message. And we'll come back. We'll get the show started off. Take some of your phone calls when we come back.
So line up those phone calls right now about anything you want. 570-1053, and we'll take them next. Let's see. Who do we have? We've got a little Stephen Wright in the stand-up spotlight. It's a good thing there's gravity. Otherwise, when birds die, they just stay right up there. Hunters would be all confused. Sponges grow in the ocean. I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be if that didn't happen. I have a Ouija surfboard. Woke up this morning, I was folding my bed back into a couch. Had a little problem in his finger. As you know, he came back from Hawaii. And while he was in Hawaii, he was snorkeling. And he got banged against some rocks. The waves were smashing him against some rocks. Stabbed in the finger by a sea urchin. He pulled it out, but he still felt a little something in there. And he thought he could see it, too. Right, Eddie? Yeah. And so what did you do? There was a lot of different advice from P1s yesterday when we talked about this. And the general consensus was soak it in hot water, get some alcohol or peroxide and clean a needle, and go to town. Dig it out, man. Right. Some people said don't do that because you may break it off into bigger pieces. Or make it worse. Make it worse and all that stuff. But I think I know what I'm doing, Mike. I'm not going to let that happen. I did a little surgery on myself yesterday. How'd it go? Yes. Dug in there real good. And there was nothing there. Oh, come on. That really creeped me out. I was able to have seen it before and feel it. And once I peeled away the...
Skin that was swollen and stuff around it, there's nothing in there. After pouring a little peroxide on the finger and sterilizing a needle, he went to work. He began to go under the surface and find that whatever it was that was making such an irritation had suddenly disappeared. Wow, my gosh. Only hadn't really gone away. You see, whatever it was, simply an area.
of his finger. In fact, some might say... That is creepy. That is too creepy. A little bit. Well, I hope that whatever it is doesn't give you any more problems. I hope it's gone. I hope so, too. I hope it's gone to stay and it doesn't come back another day. 570-1053. 35253 is the text. Call us. What's on your mind? We got P1 Ryan on the line. Ryan, are you there? Yes, I am. What's going on, man? I need to ask you guys for some advice. I have this friend of mine. He's been a friend since freshman year in high school. How old are you now? 19. You're 19. Okay, so how long? Five and a half years. Five and a half. And about the last year and a half, he's been a really good friend of mine. He's going through some money problems at home, not living in a great part of town. His dad moved away to South Dakota. And I've been trying to get him a job with my dad. My dad owns a company.
So I want to be his friend still, and I want to give him the job. But every time I call him, you know, he's done it four or five times. The next day, about 9 o'clock at night, be too late to hire anybody else. He says, hey, I can't do it tomorrow. I have something else going on. So I want to know if I should keep trying to hire him or if I should just... No. No, for a couple of reasons. Number one, he doesn't want it. He's making that really clear. And who knows why and what his motivation is. It could be that... It could be that he is fearful of it or it could be that he's lazy. It could be a variety of reasons. But the biggest thing that you have to keep in mind is that if you vouch for this guy and then you sort of apply the pressure and out of a sense of obligation to you, he accepts the job. Eventually, he will revert back to what's really living inside of him, which is one of those things I mentioned first. And then you look bad. Then you look bad. Then your dad or whoever is going, what did you get me this guy for?
You know what I mean? I don't know. What do you guys think? Eddie? Sky? No, I agree with you. Yeah. I totally agree. And, dude, don't, like, feel bad about it. You're a good friend. You've tried. You've tried already. And, you know, you can only do so much. So, yeah, you're covered, man. Yeah. You've done your due diligence, as they say. Okay. All right, Ryan. I hope that helps out, brother. It does, yes. Thank you. Okay, man. Yeah, that's a tough thing. I love to tell you guys are great. Thank you, man. I appreciate that. Thanks, Ron. I appreciate that. That's a tough thing, man, vouching for a friend. Dude. Because if they don't work out, dude, it looks bad on you. It's total crap, man. And I know, listen, I know guys, I know guys that have been out of work and they stay out of work and they lament about being out of work. Oh, man, it's just so tough, man. There's not a lot of work out there, blah, blah, blah. And then you hear about something and you go, hey, man, I got the perfect thing for I just heard about this. And you don't see him springing into action. That's because something else is going on. It means that Judge Millian has become pretty comfortable. Speaking of that, I saw another judge on TV the other day that I had no idea was I never heard of him before. I can't remember what it was, but there's a new judge on TV.
Like every week, it seems like. Yeah. There's a lot of judges on TV. Judge everything. Joe Brown. Yeah, Judge Joe Brown. People's Court. Judge Judy. Judge Millian. Judge Millian. Judge Mathis. Judge Mathis. Is there a Judge Mathis? Yeah. He's pretty good. Dude, there's like a million judges. I don't know what makes... Judge Dredd. Judge Dredd. Yeah, I remember Judge Dredd. Yeah, right. 570153. Judge Reinhold is the best one out of all of them. That's not. Judge E. Knott. Remember him? He's pretty good. 5701053. The phones are quiet. Come on, man. Give us a call. Our text number, 35253. We want to hear from you. Eddie still doesn't have DirecTV. Can you believe that? Still no. Eddie. What? Are you following through on your threat, Eddie? What? Or are you chickening out? Listen. What is the threat? He told me the other day that if DirecTV did not come through for him on Thursday that he was going to cable. That's quite a statement. I'm furious. I'm furious. They came out yesterday for the third time to hook up my DirecTV. My house is all pre-wired for cable.
So I'm trying to avoid having them to have to re-drill like a thousand holes in my house to put all the wires in and have wires running throughout all the back side of the house and all this. I don't want any of that. There has to be a way for me to be able to use already the pre-wiring. I know there is. I've talked to the techs and they all tell me, yeah, there is. But, you know, you can't do it and only certain clients can do it and all this stuff. Yeah, it's ridiculous, man. So I've been on the phone with DirecTV like half my week. And so yesterday I finally, because here's the deal with DirecTV is they subcontract out. You call them and then they subcontract out to a local company that comes out and installs your equipment. Well, I finally got in touch with the local supervisor. Because the third guy that came out yesterday, he's like, yeah, I can't do it. Oh, my God. And I'm like, dude, I have confirmation from DirecTV that they said they could do it and all this stuff. So yesterday, I finally got in touch with the local guy. And he said, you know, he was really cool. And he's like, dude, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know how much that sucks. So I will. I'll make sure you get hooked up. So they're coming out again today. I believe you'll get it done. I think it's finally going to happen. I said, that's it, man. It don't happen today. I'm done. I'm leaving.
Hopefully it gets all ironed out. I know. I'm over it. Eddie, ever since you've come back from vacation, you've been in the new house, right? Yeah, we've stayed there. We'll occasionally go over to the condo just to watch TV. Oh, really? Because I still have my DVR over there. But other than that, you guys are sleeping at the new place and all in the new place. Are you loving it? Is it comfy? Are you digging it? I love my house. I love my new house. It is fan-freaking-tastic. But, A, not having TV sucks. And, B, they have really cool, throughout the entire house, they have those shutter blinds, which I love. I think they're really cool. Except for the master bedroom. They used to have drapes up. in that master bedroom. So there are no window coverings at all in that room. And so it takes a little while to make the appointment and have them come out and measure and put blinds in and stuff like that. So we're waiting for that. And I finally told my wife, I said, look, I can't stand this anymore. I hate not having any kind of window treatments on this window.
go out and just buy cheapo curtains or something so we have something up for now. Right. So she did and I went to put them up yesterday and they were the wrong size and all these things were... So I finally said, you know what? Screw this. I grabbed some old blankets and sheets and just put them up. I was thinking... that yeah i said screw this i'm over it and so now we're just waiting for blinds people come out and do all that you know we've kind of all been through this at one time or another where you're sort of uh moving someplace and everything conceivably that could go wrong just kind of does it just blows you know it's always at the worst time you just want to be in your new place and be relaxed and you get into someplace and something after something after something That blows, dude. I hope that gets all ironed out. It'll all be good. I'm just, you know, I like my house like I like my house. Right. And it's been trying, but it's all good. I'm trying to learn patience. Eddie, do we have time to talk to Dr. Ryan Johnson right now? Yeah, absolutely. Let's do it right now. Dr. Ryan Johnson is the host of the National Geographic Channel film called Sharkville.
That's going to be on tonight, and it's on at 10 o'clock tonight. Johnson, are you there? Hi, good morning. How are you doing? Hey, how are you? I'm well, I'm well. It sounds like you are an Australian gentleman. No, I'm not. I'm a New Zealand gentleman. Oh, hello. Now, Kenneth, if you're from Australia or New Zealand, can Australians and New Zealand tell the accent apart? Oh, yes. You know, it's like comparing... Canadians to Americans, and most of the time we respond the same way when we get misidentified. You don't want to be misidentified. It's like the difference between a southern accent and a New York accent, I'm guessing, right? Yeah, if not more. If not more. What is the difference between, like I could tell you what the difference between a southern guy and a New Yorker is. What's the difference between a New Zealander and an Australian?
One of the ones that the people keep on referring to is the way we say fish and chips. New Zealanders say sort of fush and chips. Brownians go fish and chips. Gotcha. Those idiots, huh? Well, this is what I know, Ryan Johnson. I know that your country is absolutely stunningly beautiful and green, and my wife wants to visit there one day. Oh, thank you. It is a lovely place. So Ryan Johnson is a shark expert, and he's the host of Sharkville, which is a movie that's going to be on tonight on the National Geographic channel, and it's at 10 o'clock. And you have been in the water with some very, very big and scary creatures. How old are you, Ryan? I'm 31 years old. 31. So at what age did you come up close to a shark? For the first time, how old were you? It was in South Africa. It was when I was just starting out 10 years ago. I was 21 years old. And a very good friend of mine, Andre Harkman, who's a well-known guy with gray-white sharks, held my hand and took me into the water with a gray-white shark. He sort of instructed me what to do. And, you know, I've done that ever since. And I've carried on with my research. And a lot of work has been stuck into it. But, yeah, 10 years now.
I'm assuming you were in a cage. No, that was the first time without a cage. Oh, come on. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hold on a second. Ryan! Why? Here's to swimming with boat-legged women. Ryan, you're telling me that at 21 years old, you were out of a cage in the water with a great white shark. Yes, sir. It's a bit weird I'm saying that now, but yeah, that's right. Now, had you seen the movie Jaws? I had seen the Jaws movie, and, you know, that scared me growing up. And it was only once I had experienced these great whites firsthand that you realize how many myths went into Jaws and how different they are from that movie. All right. Break the myths for us, Ryan. Be an ambassador for the great white shark. We don't know. You know, we can't talk to the great white ourselves. So what does the great white want us to know about it?
By the way, you know this as well as anybody. There was what people believe to be a great white shark attack off the coast of San Diego earlier this summer. It happened in Cardiff, right here in San Diego County. What does the great white shark want us to know about it that is a misconception? It likes humans. It doesn't. Where this documentary shark film gets made is 50 to 60 great white sharks on any given day. But it's also a lot of tourists, a lot of swimmers, a lot of surfers in the water within a couple of hundred metres of these sharks on pretty much most days of the year. And yet in Sharkville, in this area, there has only been two instances in the last 20, 25 years. And when you really look at it, you sit back and you say, hey, if there was any place in the world where Jaws would be running Rampage, it would be in Sharkville.
in Mossel Bay, but they're not. Why is that? And that highlights what the sharks want to tell you. We're not interested in humans. Sharkville, what part of the world is Sharkville located in? It's in South Africa. It's a little town called Mossel Bay, and it's been my research site for six years. In 2005, me and my research team were tracking a shark. We put little transmitters on him and were following him around behind. And we knew that... Great white sharks needed the light, and they were hunting seals during the daylight hours. And it was nighttime, so we weren't expecting much. And out of the blue, you know, the shark in the day of the night just breached out of the water and had this seal in its mouth, and it sat there about 20 meters away from us, consuming the seal. And at night, it was nice. And you, I'm sorry, did you say you were in the water or out of the water? No, we were out of the water. No, I didn't want to be in the water then. Oh, no. Oh, I wonder why. Yeah, yeah. Okay, and so, I'm scared just talking to you. I'm scared. Well, I'm the dude to you fair Spanish ladies. So, have you ever had a close call?
Well, yeah, we, you know, I haven't had a close call when I felt the shark was trying to eat me or be malicious. But in the documentary, I use this thing we call the bite meter, which we, I basically lie on the outboard motor and I hold it into the water and the shark comes up, bites it. No. And we see the force. No. The shark one time got hooked up on that and he tried to escape. He panicked and turned around the... The first swipe of his tail hit the motor. The second hit my leg. The third and fourth hit my back. Oh, my gosh. It was, you know, a ton of shark doing that to you. I thought I'd bust my back. My gosh. That's when my mother brought me my ticket to come home. Yeah. Enough is enough. We are talking to Dr. Ryan Johnson, and he is the host of Sharkville, which is going to be on the National Geographic channel tonight. at 10 o'clock. And, okay, so you say a couple of great white shark attacks over the last 25 years or whatever. So what causes those two? What are they about? When they do attack, what's it all about? Well, if you really look into them, usually there's quite mitigating circumstances that can excuse a shark. The one fatal one, the lady decided to go scuba diving for some inexplicable reason.
decided to float at the surface 50 meters away from Seal Island, right in the shark's hunting zone. And the shark was down below her and came up at a heck of a rate of knots and breached on her. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Stop right there. What does that mean? What does that mean? Okay, you know these things you see on National Geo when the sharks fly out of the water? Yeah. He basically did that. Oh, wow. He thought it was a seal, but that lady should never have been in the water there. She, you know. That is where they hunt. That's what the sharks do in that area. There's 99 other kilometers of coastline where you can hop in the water, and the sharks won't do that. So, you know, there's often these little circumstances that can be explained when these sharks do attack. So, Ryan Johnson, you're saying that if you're in the water on regular beach area, they don't have an interest in you? Yeah, it's a big difference in behavior. But if you're in an area where they're known to be hunting, that's when they're going to?
Do something about you. Well, that's when, you know, these seals that they attack, they don't want to be attacked. They're very maneuverable. And you'll see in the documentary, they've got all these different strategies to escape the island without getting attacked. So the sharks, they have to go full out. They have to hit first, ask questions later, and use every trick that they've got to capture these seals. So, you know, in these situations, it's not going to be sitting there going, oh, maybe that's my prey, maybe that's not my prey. It's a hit first, ask questions later. Dr. Ryan Johnson, do you believe that the waters off of San Diego County are safer now because of statistics? In other words, because we had a great white shark attack, a fatal great white shark attack here in San Diego County earlier in the summertime, do you think it would be safer now to be a surfer here? No, these things... defy statistics. They're so rare that you can't really look at it that way. It's just an appreciation that if there are white sharks in the water, if there are things in the water, you go into the water, there's a very, very small possibility anything's going to happen, but you just have to accept those odds. Otherwise, you know, take up skin. You know, our time with you is pretty much running out, but before we let you go, Dr. Ryan Johnson.
host of Sharkville on National Geographic Channel tonight at 10 o'clock. Before we let you go, leave us with a great white shark story slash memory that you have that we will be telling our friends later today because it's so creepy or weird or interesting or different. One of the coolest things happened only two days before I left to come here to New York. We're out there in the middle of the night around Seal Island. For some reason, all this bioluminescence had come up in the water, and seals were swimming around us. You know Matrix, that neon green? It was the middle of the night, and these seals looked like neon green from the Matrix, and suddenly they took off out of nowhere. And these two sharks, two great whites in tandem at the surface, also just shining up neon green, plowing through the water, chasing down these seals. And I'm just sitting out there, 12 o'clock at night, with a couple of interns, and to see that was remarkable. Did your heart drop into your belly kind of feeling, or were you more fascination? I was screaming with excitement. Oh, my. When you're out there at this place, every day is so exciting, and you just see so many different things. It blows your mind, and a lot of this is going to get covered in the documentary, so that's why tune in, watch it, because it's pretty crazy. We are so different. Does your mother hate that you do this? No.
I've trained her well over the 10 years, but she has dreams about me and sharks all the time. I bet. Well, I hope you're safe. Thank you for spending time with us this morning. You're an interesting guy. And we will be watching Sharkville tonight on the National Geographic Channel, 10 o'clock. And that's Dr. Ryan Johnson. Thank you very much for coming on. My pleasure, and enjoy the show tonight. Thank you very much. We'll see you later. That is Dr. John Johnson. That is scary stuff, man. Yeah. That's crazy. I'll be watching that for sure. I didn't want to ask him because I didn't want to put him on the spot and have to have him say no. But I wanted to ask, is this in high definition? Because, man, that'd be some cool stuff to see. You should have asked him if killer whales are worse than sharks. Because he would have said, yeah. That's just you, Eddie, that has that issue. No, he knows. He's a doctor. He's a doctor. That's right. Okay, don't go anywhere. We're going to take a real quick time out. When we come back, this guy Terry Moran from Nightline on ABC, this guy got the guts up to ask Ryan Seacrest if he's gay. Wow. I can't wait. He takes brass balls. And so, anyway, he did it. You'll hear the audio of him doing it, but where you actually hear the audio is,
They're asking Ryan Seacrest's mom, what did you think of that? And in the process, play the audio of it happening. And Seacrest's response will do that next. Pasts of the Mikey Show at rock1053.com. I'm a little old man. Nice to meet you. Eddie. I always am in the mood for Waffles. I am a hypochondriac when it comes to my cats. Sean. I'm really into 70s B actors. Little Miss Boston Rob. I'm not a chick. Wow. Yes, you are. And Ashley. It's really hard for me to watch difficult movies. The Mikey Show's on.
105.3 is the Mikey Show. It's 717. Brangelina's security team got into a fight on the grounds of the couple's French Chateau after finding two paparazzi dressed in camouflage. There will be no holdout. The Chargers and first-round draft pick Antoine Cason come to terms. Oh, that's good, man. That's good. You always like to hear that. Welcome back to the show. You know? I think we ought to get to it. Why don't we do a little battle of the sexes, ladies and gentlemen? I mean, how can you even say that? I mean, we've dominated you. I got a good feeling this week. Oh, come on. I have to pee. Good way to start, Ash. You need some plant better. Good way to start, Ash. This is the worst. Cannot be good. Cannot be good. I'm a goner. These girls united today, or?
By united, he means synced. Well, I didn't mean that, Mike. Well, here's the thing. The girls are, they make up Team Sass. They are headed up by their captain, Chantel, former Charger girl. And in honor of Chantel, we have brought in Divine Postabilities today, ladies and gentlemen. Oh, yeah, girl. Amazing. Really good. So good. And they make the best sandwiches ever. And they are located at 3545 Midway Drive. And if you want to, you can even call them at 619-523-5441. They're offering 10% off for all P1s. That's amazing. Dude, it's pasta in a sandwich. Awesome. So good. I mean, you got to look at their website. Torpasta.com. I mean, their food is just phenomenal. Their sandwiches are phenomenal. Really, really good stuff. They came in today.
And like I said, we got Team Sass. They are the girls, and they are going to be facing Team Awesome. Yeah, say it. Awesome. Say it. The best. No. As you know, Team Awesome has been dominating in Paddle with the Sex. It's true. Why do you always have to say it that way? Because it's the truth. I have to let people know I'm just updating. Thank you. And so, yeah, Team Awesome is headed up by Eddie. He is their team captain. And they consist of Eddie, Boston Rob, and Sean. Yeah. Edited up by Chantel. Consists of Chantel, Ashley, and Sky. A lot of infighting between them. Yes, they do. There is a lot of infighting. And let me tell you this. The way that this works is that the guys are asked.
girl questions, and the girls are asked guy questions, and we see how it goes. We do two rounds, and let's do it up. You guys ready to get started? You guys want to flip a coin? Sure. Let's see. Zeph, do you have one? No, but I can get one. All right. Get a coin. We're going to flip. We're going to see who gets to go first. Who calls it? I'll let the ladies call it. Yeah, let the ladies call it. Go ahead, team captain. Chantel, call it. Oh, it's like Harvey Dent. Heads. Son of a sucker. Oh, wow. We'll let the ladies go first, Mike. We're gentlemen? Chantel, you get to decide which of your girls is going to lead off. Will it be you or will it be Skye or Ashley? You're trying to make me make a decision, but I'm going to say Skye. Bad move. Come on, Skye. All right, everyone. Let's just calm down a little bit. Come on, you sexy mama, you. Ooh. Okay. Hot tail? Yeah, Skye is dressed pretty sexy today. Today is weird. Okay. What? She has on the, Skye is wearing the sort of sweater top thing. What? Oh, you're really weird. No, I don't know what it is. It's beautiful. It's a tube top. It's a tank top. It doesn't have shoulders. It's a tube top. Is it just a regular tank? Because I'm seeing through the camera. No, I'm wearing a tube top. I'm not on the bat for being there.
No, it's just, it's kind of a fancy tank top. Yes. It's a fancy tank top. Yes. Well, let's see if that fancy pants tank top, Skye. All right. We'll be able to help you with this question. Are you ready? Oh, I hope it does. Yes. Question is, Skye, what clothing company recently started a MMA promotion? What clothing company recently started an MMA promotion? MMA promotion. Skye is thinking. Promotion. She is looking at the table. Now she's looking at. Eddie. Thinking about this, you can see her thinking the wheels are turning. Okay, so I'm going to have to guess here because I don't know. I mean, I know there are certain companies that do specifically MMA stuff, but if you're saying it's a company that just started doing it, I'm assuming it's a big company. Sports. Walk it through. So I will say Nike. That is incorrect, Scott. It's okay.
Actually, I've seen Zeth wear the clothing quite a bit. It's called Affliction. That's not a real company. Yeah, I don't think so. Let's go over to Team Awesome. Hi, everybody. Eddie, you're Team Captain. You get to pick who you want to lead off. Well, Mike, since Sky did such a great job at that last question. We're going to be friends, bro. I'm giving you compliments. You obviously didn't do a great job. You're obviously being sarcastic. You're my homie. What? You're my homie. I got it wrong, bro. You did? Yeah. Remember I said Mikey? Oh, yeah. That ridiculous answer. Eddie didn't realize. I'm going to go first, Mike. How about that? Really? This is not bad. Awesome. I'm watching all you boys in the studio. I'm watching everybody. Eddie, you get multiple choice. Oh, yes. Lame. Awesome. Should have given that to Rob. Yes. That is the truth. Eddie, which of the following fashion designers does not make purses? Oh, boy. Which of the following fashion designers does not make purses? They would know. Maybe. Eddie, is it A, Kate Spade? Is it B, Givenchy? Or is it C, Ralph Lauren?
Okay. Is the second one even a real thing? Thank you. I've never heard that. I think I'm pronouncing it wrong, too. Oh, great. Is it A, Kate Spade? And the girls help you, at least with pronunciation? B, Givenchy? A, Kate Spade? G, Givenchy? Oh, hey, all right. Givenchy, Givenchy? I think it's Givenchy. Givenchy, though. Givenchy. Or C, Ralph Lauren? I think I've seen my wife. I have a Kate Spade back. So I'm not going to say A. That. Just looking for reactions. Got my poker face off. Never heard of B. Ralph Lauren does a lot of stuff, but that may be the trick right there. I know how you guys are. What? Can't get a read off of the mic. It's hard to get a read. That B is weird. I don't know what that is. I've never heard of it. Okay. Doesn't Ralph Lauren make bad?
Just answer, Mike. I will say... Sky's a little nervous. I can tell Sky's a little nervous about this. Only because I don't know what B is, I'm going to say C. Eddie, that is incorrect. The answer is B. I've never heard of it. And is it pronounced Javanchi? Javanchi. It's not fair. I didn't know how it was pronounced. We put the pronunciation down there for Mike to say. Yeah, it is on here. Javanchi. Givenchy. Givenchy. What is it? Perfume. I don't know. I guess they make stuff for girls. Girls like their stuff. Yep. All right, ladies, we now go to Chantel. I'm ready. It's pronounced Chantel. All right, Chantel, you get a multiple choice question. He's gay. Chantel, it's about sports. Okay. Dang it. Isn't it cool?
And Chantel, not only is it about sports, it's about the NFL. She gets this every week. It's in the bag. Right, right. Which is to say that if she does not get this correct, especially since it's a multiple choice question. I'm nervous. It's almost a guarantee. Can you not put the pressure on her? Please stop it. Okay. And here we go. Oh, wow. Chantel, what NFL player carries the nickname Ocho Cinco? This is not Cinco de Mayo. This should not be multiple choice. Chantel is smiling, but you can see that look that she gets almost weekly. That says, uh-oh. She's got to know this. What NFL player carries the nickname Ocho Cinco? Is it A?
Adrian Peterson. B. Larry Fitzgerald. Or C. Chad Johnson. Is it A. Adrian Peterson. B. Larry Fitzgerald. Or C. Chad Johnson. She is very intent. She looks a little frustrated. She's smiling. Not a good sign. Smiling through the paint. Sky is trying to... Will the answer to her. Guy, you know this one? Ashley is trying to will the answer to her. No, I just have to pee. The faces are similar. Chantel, what do you think? Yeah, I'm here. She looks like she's practicing some dance moves, but that's not going to help her. So what do you think, Chantel? You got this. I'm speaking a lot of things, honestly. What have you got? I mean, A, B, or C.
Come on. That is incorrect. Is it Chad Johnson? That is incorrect. Yes, it is. Oh, my gosh. I was going to say that first. Sorry about that. That's why I said go with your cat. And my gut was Chad Johnson. See? That's right. You always got to go with the gut, mama. Now, here's the deal. The game is tied. The game is tied. This is intense, Mike. Now we will go to Boston Rob. Rob, what was the name of the coffee shop on the TV show Friends? Hold on. What was the name of the coffee shop on the TV show Friends? You got this, buddy. Okay, give me the ABC mic. Let's go. Let's go. Sorry, buddy, but this is not a multiple choice. I'm thinking cops. I'm thinking not cheers. I'm thinking not cheers. That's how he... Smelly cat. This is killing me. I'm trying to picture Joey. He's your fave? Oh, come on. Of course.
Even his spinoff was good. Oh, no. It was awesome. It was awesome. When is that coming out on DVD? I don't think so. This is so stupid. I'm just going to say cops. I don't know. That was good. That is incorrect. That's okay. That's the best he could come up with. That's okay. Coffee mugs. Coffee mugs. No, the name of the place was Central Perk. Get it. Yeah. Now I see it. Central Park, Mike. Okay. You're too late. A quarter of a point? Ashley, you're up. Yes. Let's make this quick. Come on. Bust it out. Bada bing, bada boom. I got to go somewhere real quick. Ashley. Ashley. Let's knock it out, Mike. I'm feeling good about you. Go for it. What's the question? Yeah. You ready about this one? Play it on me. What's up? Oh, boy. In the movie Fight Club. Yeah. Dang it. Love that movie. Love that movie. I'm telling you. I'm good about it. What was Brad Pitt's character's full name? I hope that's the easiest question of all time. Is it? Oh, come on. She does not know this. Look at her face. Are you kidding? Look at her! Ashley is giggling. Doesn't she love this movie? I do. I love it. It's one of my favorites. I can't do one of your favorites. How do you say a character's name? You should be rattling this off. It's a T.
She's doing a bit. Just give her a moment. She is not doing a bit. I'm looking at her right now, and she is backing away from the microphone, and she is thinking, and oh, yeah, there are the headphones coming off, and that always means I don't know. Never a good sign. Headphones are back on. She's coming back to the microphone. I'm going to hear it. I'm going to know it, and this sucks. It starts with a T or a C. Work it out. Well, those sounds are very similar. I've got to pee, so, I mean, things are getting confused up there. That's right. There's lots of different things. She's fanning. She's fanning herself. Oh, no. That's not fair. Don't listen to this. That is not fair. That's not fair. Definitely going to make it tougher for her. That's meditator. So not fair. It's relaxing. She's fanning the pits one way or another. In the movie Fight Club, what was Brad Pitt's character's name? Come on, dude. Tad Johnson. What? No. Okay. It was not Tad Johnson. I was feeling good about you on that one, Ash. No, I know. I know that I would have known it if I didn't have to pee. Do you mean you would have known Tyler Durden? Dude!
We're not allowed to be a fan of that movie anymore. Tyler Durden. Come on. What happened there? Shawnee O'Boy, you're up. Yeah, here we go. Money. Whatever. Shawnee O'Boy. Sean, what song does Julia Roberts sing in the bathtub in Pretty Woman? What? Look at the women. I mean, just immediate recognition. You guys all know that. I mean, happiness and recognition. Sean, for real, I'm not even kidding. Please don't play your stupid little game where you pretend to know it and don't take four minutes because I have to go so bad. Can you just... Sean, take your time on this one. Really think about it, bro. Don't let him get in your kitchen. Don't you do it. What is she talking about? Don't do your stupid thing. What thing are you talking about? She's asking you politely. You know, could you do a girl a favor? Sean is thinking about this question.
Yeah, if she gets a bladder infection, it's your fault. Yours. I'm curious as to what she's referring to. I don't quite understand. I'm sure you don't. Sean, are you thinking about the question? The question was, what song does Julia Roberts sing in the bathtub in Pretty Woman? I still don't. I don't know. Sean's having a hard time. What part do you need clarification on there, Sean? Actually, I'm hung up on what Ashley said. I want to strangle you. It's like you're trying to concentrate on the question, but all that's going through your head. It's like this weird thing, like stop doing what you're doing. I don't know what I'm doing to stop it. So now I have to figure out what I'm doing so that I can then stop it. It's a freaking question, Sean. And then when all that's done, then you'll be able to think about the question, but not until that part's done. So could you explain? Just work it out. Okay, so what was the question you had, Mike? He's really pushing it today. Sean, what song does Julia Roberts sing in the bathtub in the movie Pretty Woman? Hmm. I know that Richard Gere was in that movie. Yeah, that's true. Work it out, Sean. We've all seen it. We don't need it.
you to tell us. The girls are so messed up. I believe the Roy Orbison song Pretty Woman was in there somewhere. At one point during the movie. That is true. But we're talking about when she was in the bathtub. Yeah, we are. We used to date. She was singing a song. Is that how you treat me? Oh, Sean's got the hands over the eyes. He's trying to remember what was it. You're a bad person. He's thinking. He's squinting. You can tell. He's just really trying to concentrate. Here he goes. Here he goes. I will say that the song she was singing in the bathtub. Yep. What do you think it was, Sean? In the movie Pretty Woman. Yes, we heard the question the three times Mike read it to you. I'm sorry, what? Nothing. Please go ahead. No, go ahead. What were you saying? I was saying you don't need to repeat the question. You've already heard it three times. Three times. Oh, did I repeat it? Yeah, you were repeated, Sean. So come on. Now, what was the song Julia Roberts sang in the bathtub in Pretty Woman? I believe the song was In the Club by 50 Cent. Sean!
Sean, that is incorrect. I mean, that's a recent song. That's not even by 50 cents. That's a good point. She sang the song Kiss by Prince. Wow, we really did a good job that time, guys. So, timeout. Let's take a timeout. And we're tied. Tied 0-0. So, when we come back, we will play round two. You're going to do just fine. Thanks, Mike. Here we go. Here we go. Your question, Skye. Okay. Your question is, what, and it is multiple choice. Oh, my gosh, yes. Oh, man. Woo. Okay. Okay, let's go. Skye, what automaker produced the Enzo? Is it? Is it? Look at her face. Oh, man. She just immediately put the head down. Okay. She gave a look. This has been fun today. I have faith. I have faith. She gave a look like, okay, great. Let's use deductive reasoning. Let's hear my choices. It's multiple choice. Okay. And was it A, Ferrari, B, Lamborghini, or C, Bugatti? Bugatti. Bugatti. Bugatti. Bugatti. This guy just gave lemon face, puckered up, and gave lemon face like, ooh. Lemon face, lemon face. Oh, yeah. See, because when you said Ferrari, I was like, oh, yeah, that sounds right. But then you said Lamborghini, and I was like, oh, that sounds right. But I've never even heard of it, so I'm not. That is an Italian cookie. Yeah. Dip it in your coffee. Yeah. This guy, the automaker that produced.
The Enzo, was it A, Ferrari, B, Lamborghini, or C, Bugatti? See, I remember a news story a while ago of this guy in, I don't know, wherever, you know, Malibu, who was speeding in his Enzo and crashed in. Oh, Malibu, beach blast. Yes. He was having a beach blast. Something like that. He was speeding because he had petite feet. It happens. It happens. I will say Ferrari. You are correct, Sky. Sensational. Thank you, Eddie. Thank you. Sky, you got it. Yeah. It is now 1-0. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I guess I'll get this one right now. Okay. Eddie, are you ready? I am prepared. Your question is.
When giving oneself a manicure, one must press down the hardened skin that accumulates at the base and sides of a fingernail. What is that skin called? That's a word for that? It is, in fact, a word for that. It's not just skin? No, it's not. It is not just skin. When giving oneself a manicure, one must press down... I don't like that face. Darn it! Let's press down the hardened skin. It accumulates. I can't see Eddie. I can see Chantel. What did Eddie do? You know when the light bulb comes on in his head and he just gets that face where it's like, you know. It means maybe I do know. No, it means he knows, unfortunately. Oh, no. Yes. Are you going to answer? What is he doing? I'll show Mike the camera. I see. There's only one word I can think of.
I have no idea if this is what it is or not. I've heard of this, but I don't know if that's what it is. Are we clear on what I'm saying? I'm pretty clear on what you're saying. If I understand you correctly, Eddie, what you're saying is... Hey, listen, there's something in my head. I don't know necessarily that this is it. This is a word that I am familiar with. Whether or not it applies to this question in terms of me being correct, I don't know, but we'll soon find out. You pretty much were on the same page. Right? So, here is my answer. It is, could it be cuticles? That is correct, Eddie. We have... Man in here, clap. Even the guys, the listeners. Question right, and they didn't clap for her at all. Nothing. No good job, no paddle. Listeners were just pumping their fists behind Sky. She's incredible, Mike. Why is he incredible for knowing cuticles? I can answer that question, Sky. Are you stretching? I can answer that question. The reason he's incredible is, you know, what we have here is a, you know, we had a scoreless game and Sky came up to the plate and I got to admit it. She performed. She hit a home run scored for her team.
Man, that multiple choice was tough. It was. Not as hard as cuticle. Is that no multiple choice, homie? Comes up to the plate right after, knocks one out of the park now. It's tied. Speaking of, Chantel is up. Chantel, your question is Chantel. She just gave Eddie that look like really right now. That's exactly it. Chantel, your question is, in cars, what is your tachometer measure? To what? In cars, what does your tachometer measure? Oh, wow. Tachometer? That's right. I don't speak Japanese, girl. Right? Do they have those in Mercedes? Oh, excuse us. Excuse us. I can answer that. Wow. Ramsey answered that question. Look at Chantel. I think she's falling asleep. The hands are up.
Exasperated. You can tell. She's exasperated. Oh, man. Are you guys sure you want her as the captain? Definitely. Hey, she's not. It's a fair question. Oh, man. She's thinking. She's rolling the eyes. Is it like in the dashboard? Yeah, let's tell you where it's located. In the dashboard? Oh, my. What does it measure? Not that, because you would never tell me the right answer. Chantel, in cars, what is your tachometer measure? Miles per hour. I don't know. That is incorrect. Is that a speedometer? Yeah. It's a speedometer, yeah. I don't know this. What it measures is RPMs. Oh, no. Chantel, revolutions per minute. Oh. She's got that look like, oh.
See, now they're applauding you. Oh, now they want to clap. Jerks. They're jerks. You were asking for it. Whatever. They are jerks. All right, Boston, Rob. No, bad choice. Okay. Yeah, really bad choice. Oh, man. Going for one. Wait, no, you don't get to choose, though. This isn't dumb shit? No, bro. Sorry. Take a three-pointer mic. No. All right, Rob, here's your question. Rob, finish the mantra that was taught by magazines to teenage girls. that goes along with an exercise. It's a mantra that was taught by magazines to teenage girls that goes along with an exercise. He doesn't even have to hear it. I can tell by his face. Sean knows what it is. Well, he's got that little giggle, which means Rob is thinking. Wait, is that the whole question? No, he gets the first part of the mantra. Oh, he does? There's a mantra, right?
Oh, okay. So I get to read that part? Just the first part of it. It says finish. I'm so confused. Okay, cool. I think I get it. New question. That is not a one point of my question. Okay, so it goes like this, Rob. We must. We must. We must. Increase our bust. That is correct. Are you for real? No, you're lying. You're lying. I don't believe him. You just made that up. I was being a jerk. What? I was just being a jerk. Are you serious? Yeah, I thought that was funny. That's a real thing? That's a real thing. Oh, my God. Wow. This is humiliating. Oh, my God. That's lame. Oh, my God. I was making a boob joke, and it turned out. Wow. Oh, my God. You were right. This is stupid. Ladies and gentlemen, Team Awesome's in the lead. Oh, no. Awesome. No pressure. Not for long. Ashley. Ashley. No pressure. I knew it would pay off one day. Ashley. Oh, no. Ashley, are you ready to do this? Come on. Come on. You got it. We got faith in you, girl. Yeah. All right, Ash. Here's your question. What number does LeBron James wear?
Blinking, blinking. She's looking around. Oh, Ashley is adjusting her top, her tube top. How's that helping her? Well, she's trying to get everything all, you know, snug in there. What number on James wears? Talk it out. One is 25, one is 86. 86? Okay, roll that one out. One is 25, one is 43. What? One is 25, one is 69. Thank God she only thinks there's 100 numbers. Ashley, she didn't get it. Keep throwing out numbers. One is 25, one is 12.
Chantel's doing the thing where it looks like she's throwing salt over her shoulder, but that's the answer she's throwing over her shoulder right now. Trying to will it to Ashley who's behind her in the studio. Give me an answer. One is 25. One is 83. Can you please just answer? What do you think, Ash? One is 23. One is 23. 25. 20. 80. What is she doing? Can somebody please? Well, no one's giving me any help. That's the point. We're not allowed to. 23. That is correct. Holy crap. She is the best. Because she is the best. That is how. That is how. She is the best. How the heck? I kept throwing. I kept throwing. Yep. That was. Yes. I'm serious. Wow. Yes.
Well done, Ashley. That is rad. Well said. 86 to 23? Well, I divided it in half and then there was my answer. Well, that doesn't. Well, what we got is a tie. We got a tie. We got a tie. It's two to two. Sean, don't let her get away with this. Amazing. Sean. I'll do my best. You are either going to win the game here. or you are going to, or we're going to go into tie, sudden death. It's two to two. That's the worst. Sean, are you ready? Yes. Your question is, what is Barbie's little sister's name? Well, that's not even a real thing. That's easy. I know that one. That's so easy. Barbie has a sister? Hello. A little sister? Huh? Barbie has a little sister. What is Barbie's little sister's name? Oh, no. He looks confused. Sean may know this because Sean's like the king of eBay. Sean's like into Barbies? Yeah, and he's into Barbies. Yeah, he's really into Barbies. Sean is thinking. He keeps mouthing the word wow. Is he there still? Sean, you there? Hello? Oh, there he is. Please let him be. Let him wow himself to an answer.
All those years of eBaying never came in handy for this, huh? Well, you know, Mike, on eBay, it's best to pick a particular genre and stay focused on that. And I never really ventured into the Barbie arena. Really? That's shocking. I don't believe you. Continue. I know that... There's Barbie and there's Ken. And I know the Dreamhouse. I think it's the Malibu Dreamhouse. Yes, that is correct. I know she has regular clothes and hooker clothes. There's probably even one that was like... He could color her hair and do all that, but I've never heard... Sky's face is playing it safe. She doesn't know if he knows or not. I've never heard of a little sister. Wow. Chantel and Ashley staying quiet as well. He knows it. Now Ashley thinks something is suspicious. I can't tell nothing. Saw it in his eyes. All I can do is guess and...
no idea if this is right. I don't know why this came to my head. No, no, no. I'm being totally serious. May I please? Shut up! He doesn't know. I mean, why would I know that? That's a really weird thing. And here comes the answer. Whatever. He's convinced the ladies that he... Yeah, okay, fine. So, my guess will be... It's the only one I can think of. Something like Tabitha. Oh, you're so stupid. Sean, that is incorrect. I don't know. Sean, it's not Tabitha. I've never heard of that. Barbie's little sister's name is Skipper. Come on. You can't make stuff up. That's not me. Skipper. Gilligan's best friend. Little girl been named Skipper. That is true. You don't know. Stupid. Hey, should we take a break? Yeah. Let's take a quick time out when we come back. Sudden death, guys. Oh, my God. I hate sudden death. I don't like it. Sudden death when we come back. Yeah. You don't say your name. Go with your gut. Take a quick time out when we come back. Sudden death, but we'll win. This is the Mikey Show. You have to spend over $30,000 to get a Ford SuperCrew pickup or a new Ford Explorer? How do you like this? This is an actual email that I received. It says, Mikey, thank you for constantly talking about AIS. I had 21st century just for myself and my car and was paying $200 every six months. Now, again, this is a single person that was paying $200 every six months before switching to AIS. Then she goes on to say, my husband and I went to AIS in Escondido and Manny and Michael hooked us up with insurance. Both of us, both cars, a little under $300 every six months. So it went from $200 for one person for six months to just under $300 for two people. We got a discount for paying it all at once, and the next six months will be even less. I'm talking about AIS. Cricket Wireless. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. I'm still getting by with a fairly easy ride out here this morning. You will find a backup though in the southbound side of the 5 coming out of Encinitas into Del Mar. Somebody lost a load of mattresses and sofa cushions and even they caught on fire. How that happens, who knows? But that was all over the freeway here just before Del Mar Heights Road. They pretty much got them out of the way right now, but not before it backed up traffic heavily out of Encinitas into Del Mar. So watch for the brake lights there. You've got the usual commute stuff to deal with here on the South 15 coming out of Vesco. That's pretty jammed up now from the 78 to Villa Rancho Parkway. And then you've got those pockets that's flowing through Rancho Bernardo, Carmel Mountain Ranch, and the Poway. East County is looking great. Looks like the Packers may postpone the Brett Favre retirement ceremony they have planned for the first game of the season. Are you kidding me? I mean, it's gotten that bad. Well, I mean, if he's not retiring, how could they retire his jersey? Here we go. Now I'm going to explain to you how sudden death works. I am going to read the question. If you know the answer, you may interrupt me. The way that you buzz in is by saying your name. Your name will work as a buzzer. Come on, Ashley. Leave her alone. We already had a talk with her. Eddie's saying that because Ashley has been prone to saying her name and not knowing the answer. I'm not allowed to answer this time. What do you mean you're not allowed? You got the LeBron James question right. Come on. No way, man. I'm not voting this on my team again. Not going to happen. Now, Ashley, if you know the answer, then you should definitely say it. I mean, that's not fair. That's like us telling Rob not to answer. Rob don't answer.
Now, Skye, wouldn't you agree? I mean, if she knows the answer, she should buzz in, right? We've had a discussion. What if it's an MMA question? She has been told unless she's 300% sure. I never am. Yes. Which I never am about anything. Then besides that. What is it about baking? Chill out. That would be, I guess, the one exception. Remember what? So you can interrupt me, but if you get it wrong, it goes to the other team. You guys ready for your question? Bring it. Look in my arm. Say your name to Buzz. Here we go. What was the name of Punky Brewster's dog? I'll give you ten seconds. If nobody knows it, we go to the next question. Five seconds. Not positive. Sorry, guys, we go to another question. What was it? Her dog's name was Brandon. Oh. That wasn't the old guy? The old guy. Okay. The pedophile? Yeah. Next question. Mr. Belvedere. Saw him on Catelyn. Next question is, again, you can interrupt me. If you get it wrong, it goes to your opponent. I'm nervous. What was Angela's son's name in Who's the Boss? Ashley. I know his real... Ashley. His name on the show, right? Yep. Was Michael. That is incorrect. Ashley. Oh.
The guys win. That was awesome. Look at Skye's face. Oh, my God. I mean, did we have a call? I 300% thought it was my call. Skye is looking at Ashley, right? I mean, we had a talk. Skye's going to augment it. Ashley, what are you thinking? Unless you're 1,000%. Unless you're 1,000% sure. Was it Matthew? No, it was not Matthew. Ashley. I mean, Chantel, we had a sit down with her. We did. Like, they actually sat down with her. Well, you don't have to answer. Yeah. You don't have to. No, you don't. They actually sat down with her. No, yeah. No, it wasn't Matthew or Michael. Actually, Angela's son's name and who's the boss was Jonathan. Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Put the camera on Eddie. I just got to see him. I mean, what is his reaction to this? Is he just loving it? I think he's embarrassed. He's embarrassed. It's actually a look of embarrassment. Covering his head with his hands. He's turning red.
Skye, let me interview you first. That is incredible. I mean, it's really incredible. I'd rather not be interviewed right now. I really thought it was Michael. I'm not taking interviews right now. What do you think? What do you think? I mean, what are your thoughts? Well, Mike, I'm a little confused. You're confused? Yeah, because I thought there was a discussion a few minutes prior to going on the air about this exact thing. And you said 300%, which really what that says is, listen, it's not enough to be 100% sure. Yeah. I need you to be three times 100%. Unless you're willing to put your life on the line for this answer. You would have been dead. You would have died, Ashley. I don't even know what to say. Team captain, Chantel. What are your thoughts? She ain't even playing. I'll do this like a real sports interviewer. Chantel, we're talking to Chantel here. Chantel. The game has just ended. Now, this is a place you've been before. Chantel, let me ask you. Oh, man. What are your thoughts here on this? Well, you know, this is not how we wanted to go out today. We had a great feeling going into this game. Unfortunately, sometimes things happen, people don't do. Chantel, let me ask you a question.
What are your thoughts on the fact that if nobody had answered, we just would have gone on to another question? What are your thoughts there, Chantel? That's kind of what I was hoping for. Everyone was silent. Ashley came out the blue. Skye's got a look on her face right now. Like, yeah, that's exactly what we were hoping for there, Mike. I'm going to be honest with you guys. Go ahead, Eddie. I was seconds away from saying my name, and I would have gotten it wrong. Oh, no. Because I thought, I know his name is Danny Pintaro, and I thought his name on the show was also Danny. And I would have said that. I am not lying. That doesn't help the ladies. That makes everything so much better. Thank you. We're a mere milliseconds away. Wow. So, Ashley, once again, you are the best member of our team. MVP. You're the MVP of Team Awesome. Final question for our team captain, Chantel. Chantel, is there any part of you that thinks that the guys have paid Ashley off? After every game, they slip her a little something under the table. Thank you very much. And so goes another edition. Listen, guys, this will never happen again. Get out the saucers of milk. I'm going to need you actually to get it together. I'm sorry. I'm going to need you to focus next week. Wow. Hey, guys. Yo.
I never did play the audio of the Ryan Seacrest deal. Oh, my gosh. Time's topic. Well, here's the deal. Ryan Seacrest was asked by Nightline whether or not he's gay. Wow. I know it. And they were asking Ryan Seacrest's mother what she thought of it. Now, in this clip, you actually get to hear the Nightline question and the answer. Cut 11. Mom has had to get used to the prying. including the time Nightline went there. You don't mind if I say, Ryan, are you gay? No, I'm not. Don't mind. Didn't bother. Doesn't bother me. I'm straight. Doesn't bother me. Terry Moran asked him if he was gay. And I wondered if, as his mom, you must have been like... Well, when he started out here, first thing he said to me, Mom, you're going to have to get tough skin. Did that make you mad? Or did you not care? I'm mad because, hey, I know the truth. So they flat out asked him.
Are you gay? And he says, no, I'm straight. I mean, think about that for a minute. I mean, he didn't even prepare that answer. In this one, they ask Seacrest's mom what her son's perfect girl would be like. Oh, that's genius. Have a penis. The perfect before Ryan. That's a tall order. I would say. say she would have to love food and wine, have a great sense of humor, probably be at least a 10. Are you kidding? Oh, man. Are you kidding me? Are you kidding? I mean, don't you know the rumors? Well.
I mean, if there were rumors, he, you know, in that clip, he's doing his best to clear it up. He says no. I'm very straight. He says he is not. Can't do anything more about that. Can I get back to my Gradiator movie? You ever seen a grown man naked? Hey, guys, was Dakota Fanning stuck in traffic trying to get to Comic-Con? Do I understand this correctly? Oh, yeah, traffic has been crazy bad. around the convention center. Yeah, dude. It was a zoo downtown. Oh, boy. Really? Yep. Sorry, I shouldn't even be talking. Are you guys still okay? Have you guys' feelings changed on Ashley? No. We love her. Oh, yeah. I'm a fan. Eddie, do you think that Sky will discuss this during the commercial break? Dude. Oh, there's already been an IM discussion. Oh, no. Read it. Read it. Read it. Oh, well, I closed it already. But it went something like, you are the worst. And then she wrote back, yes, I truly am the worst. And I wrote that. Do you have it, Ash? No, I closed it out. That should never happen again. I wrote to her, I am the worst. And she responded back, you are the worst, exclamation point. And I wrote back, I truly am. And then I wrote, I apologize with all my heart. I really thought I knew it. It will never happen again. And then Sky wrote, K.
But here's the deal. But here's the deal. I mean, Ash, if you know the answer, you should. Yeah, go for it, man. Yeah, because they're all against us. I mean, if she knows the answer. She doesn't know the answer. No, I never know it. But what if she knows? Stop encouraging me to do that. Yes. I mean, you guys never know. Maybe the question will be about Puggles or something. Hey, Mike, you are not our team captain. Thank you. You don't know nothing about them either. Fine. I'm just saying, you know, you wouldn't want to, like, not get a point if she actually knew it. Never again. I learned my lesson. I learned my lesson. Please. Let's see. Skye, do you have new movies that are out today? Yes, I do. Skye's got some new ones. Yeah, we got two new movies out in wide release today. What do we get? First, we have The X-Files, I Want to Believe. Let's listen to a scene. Wait a minute. We don't have any scenes from the movie. Okay, next movie. I thought we did. It looks like all we have is them talking about the movie. That's boring.
Why don't I just play one of these clips of Duchovny talking about it? Cut 34. There's a bunch of kind of winks at the audience, and Chris was very kind of into having these winks. Not so much me, because I always feel like that's not part of the realism of the drama, you know? We don't know we're winking at anybody, but it's something that fans, I think, enjoy, and I can't remember any that are actually in it. Mr. Duchovny, would you be firing your agent? He said this the other day. I think he hates it. I don't think he wants anything to do with the X-Files. That was a TV show, and I think he'd like to be doing some movies, you know? It just hasn't happened. Serious movies. That's right. What else is out, Skye? And then the second movie out this weekend is Step Brothers. Yes! You know, we actually had a guy on the line earlier that saw the premiere, If you're listening and you saw the premiere, call us back. Love to talk to you. Oh, yeah. But here's a clip from the movie. Let's see. Cut 37. Can we turn our beds into bunk beds? Yes. All right. We've already figured out how to do this. The beds match up perfectly. And here's the thing. It'll give us so much extra space in our rooms to do activities. Please say yes. You don't need permission from us to build bunk beds. You're adults. You can do what you want. You can? Yes. Sweet. You can make bunk beds.
I knew it. Okay, you guys are not going to regret this. We're going to get so much more activities done. This is the funnest night ever. There it is. John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell like the new comedy duo, man. Yes. I love it. They're like the new thing. Here's Will Ferrell kind of setting up the movie, letting you know what it's about, 39. I play Brennan Hough, 39 years old. I live at home with my mother, Nancy. She meets the love of her life, and he, of course, has a son, Dale Dobeck. played by John Riverdog Riley, who lives at home as well. Of course, they meet, and before you know it, they've fallen in love, and they're going to get married, and they bring both of their sons into the equation. We're forced to become stepbrothers. Do you want to know what I... I think I just fell in love a little bit with Will Ferrell. You know what I love about Will Ferrell? He's not serious. No. Never. You know what I mean? He hasn't turned into that guy.
Love that. He's still funny. He's still funny. Like, when he's doing interviews, he doesn't take it too seriously. He's just having a good time. He's making some jokes. It's not like, you know, when the script came to me, I just wanted to work with this person. Are you listening, Eddie Murphy? Jim Carrey? I just thought it would be a wonderful project. Take notes. It's a really good vehicle to express myself. Great story. Compelling and rich. What else, Sky? Those are the two big ones. Step Brothers and X-Files. That's it? Yeah. Never seen X-Files, but that movie, I said it, man, that commercial. I don't know why. It looks good to me. Let's see. Here's a news story from Salt Lake City from KSL TV about a guy who pulled a gun on a car full of teenagers who asked him if he had any gray poupon. Now, you get it, right? Now, you know this. You know what this is, right? The commercials used to be for Grey Poupon, which is, you know, mustard. It's like, what is Dijon mustard? And the commercials were that it was very civilized. You know, that's the way the commercials were back in the day. So two cars would pull up to each other. One would roll down the window and then the limousine would roll down its window. And they would say, do you have any Grey Poupon, please? And that's how the commercial went. Well, apparently these teenagers were trying to have a little fun. They did that.
Guy pulled a gun. I've got audio of this news story. But first, we must take a break. So, when we come back, we will hear this. No way. We'll do that right after this. Don't go anywhere. Sleep Train Mattress Centers. It's been looking pretty nice on most of our freeways here this morning. You will find a heavy backup, though, in the south, on top of the 5, coming out of La Costa all the way down into Del Mar. This all started with a truck carrying several mattresses and sofas, cushions, spilled all across the freeway. Cars hitting them left and right. It was quite the scene, and some even caught fire somehow. Don't ask me how that happened. But they now got the roadway clear, but traffic's still a mess out of Lacadia in the Del Mar. Stop until the 15 still jammed up out of Escondido up to 78 to view Rancho Parkway. Pockets are slowing again now through Rancho Bernardo and Carmel Mountain Ranch. Been great out of the East County, the 894-52 westbound, all completely up to speed. Things are fantastic as well out of the South Bay. 5805 northbound, completely looking good all the way into the city. South 163, though, pretty jammed up into the park from Washington heading into downtown. A lot of folks taking this route to head to Comic-Con. which you'll find a lot of heavy traffic on Harbor Drive already outside the convention center. Traffic control is in place there, but you're being advised to avoid it unless you really have to go there. And you got tickets, of course. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. With the price of gas the way that it is right now, with the price of groceries the way that it is right now, that's why I say AIS. You know that I don't bring it to you unless I have personally done it, and I have. I saved $1,600 a year.
The phone number for AIS, 1-800-777-4AIS. 800-777-4247. Don't just take my word for it. Erin, are you there? Hey, yeah. How much did you save? I just saved about $700 annually for a double policy with my husband and me. Really? We were paying about $195 a month with Progressive. I didn't even think that was that high. And they got me down to $140 for both of us. How happy are you? I'm stoked, dude. I'm stoked. They gave me a teacher discount even. Had you been hearing me talk about it for a while and finally decided to do it? Yeah, I haven't. Like I said, I didn't think I was paying that much. And we don't have DUIs. We don't have tickets. So I just never called. And I don't know. Everything's going up. So I'm glad I found something that was going down. That's so awesome. Thank you. So cool. 1-800-777-4247. Never again. You want to do it again. Never again. That's genius. I doubt that. Let's listen to this news story from KSL TV, Salt Lake City. Cut 15. Pardon me.
Would you have any Grey Poupon? Most of us are familiar with that question. Of course. Thanks to a number of Grey Poupon commercials that aired on televisions across the country in the late 80s and early 90s. But what wasn't the response a car full of teenagers got when they, like the characters in Wayne's World... Pardon me. Do you have any Grey Poupon? Question. The driver of the car next to them at a Murray stoplight... 22-year-old Vitaly Kovtun instead pulled out a gun. Oh, wow. He racked the slide back and then basically told the other kids that, you know, here's your Grey Poupon. Now roll up your window. The teens jotted down the driver's license plate number. Rory police arrested Kovtun, who they say admitted he pulled out the gun. They were just goofing around. Teenagers do. Just kind of playing a little joke. Didn't think it would be that big a deal and obviously scared to death when it happened.
Kovetun, who holds a concealed weapons permit, has been charged with aggravated assault for this, which is a third-degree felony. Wow. Wow is right. Just for pulling it out? Oh, man, I guess you're not allowed to do that. No. You're not allowed to take that sucker out unless you feel your life is in danger, and Grey Poupon is probably not. Are you sure? What if you're like Skye and hate mustard? Skye would have done the same thing. That's a good point. She says mustard is cancer. That is true. No, it causes it. That's what she says. She does say that. It's fatal. Yesterday, I was listening to the radio, and I was listening to Barack Obama speaking in Berlin. Oh, yeah. And it was quite a speech. I thought it was quite a speech. No, I hear it in his voice. I don't like that tone. Well, you know, this Barack Obama, he is an interesting, interesting guy. You know, a while back, we were talking about things like troop withdrawal. I don't know if you guys remember that, but I have very strong feelings about it. You see, I say that conservative Republicans have this rap. It's like, boy, conservatives...
We want those fellas out there fighting the war in Iraq, and we want to keep them out there as long as we can. You know why? Because we're just bad guys, us conservative Republicans. That's true. We have these scowls on our faces, and we want to keep our young men and women out there as long as we can. These are facts. That is a weird voice. Sounds exactly like John McCain. Yeah, it does. But the liberal Democrats, you know, they actually care about our young men and women. They do. And they actually want to bring them home. And that's why Barack Obama said that he would do it in 90 days of being elected. Now, when he said that, I said to you guys that that was a bunch of BS. A bunch of hoo-ha. I said, you guys. Hoo-ha, by the way. I said he didn't have any intention at all to bring them home in 90 days. In fact, he knows that he's not going to be able to bring them home in 90 days. But he's saying all of that because it'll help him get elected. I said, and the same goes for Hillary. If she gets elected based on all this, let's bring them home.
If she got the nomination based on any of that stuff, it's not going to be true either. She knows that the responsible thing is to not just bring them home. Well, wouldn't you know it if Barack Obama has changed his opinion? Every candidate does this, by the way, for the record. Makes promises that they don't keep. Right. Well, that must make it right. So let's talk about Barack Obama. But since we're focusing just on Barack, I'd like to say every candidate is guilty of this. It's not like this is something that Barack is doing, like he's a compulsive liar or something. No, no, no, no. He hasn't even been elected yet. It's just that this is the thing, Sky. You see, this is a big deal, what he's saying. All right. This whole bring the troops home is a big deal. Now, if you're wondering where did I get that 90 days, I got it from his website. I visited his website and I read it on his website just like I read Hill Dog's website. Hill Dog. Hill Rod. Hill Dog. I read all of their websites. And I remember when I was reading and I was thinking to myself, man, dude, how are you going to do that? How are you going to bring him home in 90 days? Well, the great Barack Obama has decided that he's not going to do that.
I'm going to read to you directly from his website where he says a responsible phased withdrawal is what makes sense. He says military experts believe. Really, Barack? So let me get this straight. You're now asking military experts? What a novel idea. We actually ask people in the military that are there. You know, like I said a long time ago. John McCain said, if we have to be there 100 years, you know, like we are in Japan, like, you know, John McCain's realistic and he actually says what he means. Instead of just giving you a bunch of hyperbole. Isn't Barack referring to combat troops? It says... The removal of our troops will be responsible and phased, directed by military commanders on the ground and done in consultation with the Iraqi government. So what do you mean combat troops, Sky? That's not what he said when he was trying to get elected. He said he was bringing them home. So if we're talking about troops, maybe we are talking about combat troops. But all I know is that what he's saying now is military experts believe we can safely redeploy combat brigades from Iraq.
at a pace of one to two brigades a month that would remove them in 16 months. You know, 496 days. Sounds more reasonable. Well, it sounds like 406 more days than he said to get the nomination. He said that would be the summer of 2010. Do you smell what Barack is cooking? Yeah, we do. I do. I do smell it. I do smell it. I can't say what it smells like necessarily. Whatever. We get it. You're a conservative Republican. I am. I am. As you guys know, my brother is a big-time Barack Obama supporter. And so when he comes to visit here on August the 4th, I... There may be some discussions that we some spirited discussions that we have concerning concerning his candidate. Hey, listen, let me tell you something. I I see the same stuff that you guys see when that dude talks. It sounds good. There is no doubt about it. When that dude talks, it sounds good. You don't believe me. Listen to him yesterday in Berlin. Cut to in this new century, Americans and Europeans alike will be required to do more.
Not less. Partnership and cooperation among nations is not a choice. It is the only way, the one way, to protect our common security and advance our common humanity. That is why the greatest danger of all is to allow new walls to divide us from one another. The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes, natives and immigrants, Christians and Muslims and Jews cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down. We must blow up the Great Wall of China. Every wall.
Pink Floyd's the wall. My brother told me the other day. Sounds good. My brother told me, oh, man, it sounds great, doesn't it? It's creepy it's so good. Oh, that's a great way to put it. It's so good it creeps you out. It's like, that is too perfect, man. Now, one of the things that's not in there, one of the things that's not in there is he started to talk about things like Darfur. And he was saying stuff like, we cannot let. Things like Darfur happen. There cannot be another Darfur. And I'm in my car and my jaw drops open and I want to go, wow, really? How do we do it? How do we do it? He didn't say any of that, though. And then as soon as it's over, because I'm listening to Fox. news. Of course you are. Of course I am. You guys know I am. And as soon as it's over, as soon as it's over, they say, I wonder how Barack is going to do that. He's also going to eradicate hate. Yes. We must get rid of hatred. We will bring back Estelle Getty from the dead. Sounds good. Well, it is a little too sad, but it's a nice idea.
Water world will live up to its budget. It sounds good, man. That's all that matters. You got to take a quick time out. Hey, it doesn't matter what I say. You were probably just listening to the next president of the United States of America. I'm sorry, dude. Hey, man, I'm sorry. That guy sounds so good. No. Whoa. Yes. Every time me and my brother get into it, you know, I got to say, well, I guess it doesn't really matter what I'm saying because dude's probably going to be our next president. So quick time out. And when we come back, man, we got a lot of cool stuff. We got a lot of stuff. Mark Wahlberg signs on to be in a new movie. I'll tell you what it is. When we come back. Learn most people's natural causes.

Ladies and gentlemen, coming up here in just a minute, we've got what you're doing at Comic-Con. What? What? Boston Rob down at Comic-Con with a microphone asking people what you're doing at Comic-Con. Must have come across some interesting characters. Oh, just a few. Speaking of Boston Rob, Mark Wahlberg is going to be in a new movie. Is that right, Sky? Pardon me? Yeah, he's just signed on to co-star with Peter Burr. He's just signed on to co-star with Peter Berg, who's the guy who directed Hancock, directed Friday Night Lights, and he will also direct this movie as well. The movie's called Cocaine Cowboys. Wow. And it's a true story of a Vietnam vet who ran a powerful cocaine syndicate in Florida back in the 70s. Saw it. It's called American Gangster. Oh, cut it out, dude. It's going to be much better. Crack is whack. So check this out. So let's get to this. Let's do a little What You Do in a Comic.
Nice. So we send Boston Rob down to Comic-Con, as you know. Comic-Con is in town, and this sucker is gigantic. And, I mean, thousands of people. Sky said something like 125,000 or something, Sky? Yeah, by the time the weekend's over, yeah. Wow. Just gnarly. And so you know what it brings out. Nerd fest. And, you know, I mean, they got guys out there in costume. And every walk of life you could possibly think of. And he was out there talking to him. Let's see. First guy that he talked to, let's go to cut Comic Con 2. And Boston Rob is talking to a guy with a real thick accent. And Rob, you say that he's some sort of dog soldier. Yeah, now. From a comic. What? I was hoping you guys. Sean's laughing. I was hoping he would know. You mean Dog the Bounty Hunter? No. Far from it, dude. He said dog soldier something. Sean, I was hoping you would know. If you're laughing, I'm confused. You know what? The clip kind of will speak for itself, I guess. All right. Comic-Con 2. So what are you doing at Comic-Con? I came here for representing the sculptors. Sculptors? Yeah. Everybody check it out.
I-N-U-A-R-T. Oh, wow. You know, original piece of the sculptor? So what do you do? Sculptor. You're a sculptor? Yeah. Can you explain? You've got to explain the costume to me. Is this a real wolf's head? Yeah, this is a real Timberwolf. All right, so you've got a real wolf's head for a hat. You've got, what are these, the teeth for a necklace? Yeah, yeah. You've got a leather vest on and the chaps and the whole nine. Which village person are you? This is the Cheyenne dog soldiers. Cheyenne dog soldiers. Yeah. You don't know what that is? It looked like a real dog's head. Is that the deal? No, dude. It was a skinned wolf. And it was the real thing on his head. Well, yeah, I just Googled it and Dog Soldiers, it came up. It's like a movie and the poster. Send me the link. The poster that I'm seeing is like, yeah, like a wolf's head or something crazy. Dude. And it was a real dead wolf's head. And he had the teeth on a necklace. Like taxidermist style? Yeah, dude. Like for real. Dog Soldiers Fresh Meat is the name.
Dog soldiers, fresh meat. Now, how is this? Is he there representing the movie company? Is it possible he's just a fan? They're all fans. Oh, wow. Did you guys go to coffee after that, Rob? Lunch. That was fantastic. And he's a scopitator. We got to get Sean. Yeah, I'm a scopitator. We got to get Sean all this audio. In the next clip, Rob talks to a doorman who's working there but accidentally mistakes him for Isaac from the love boat because... Rob! I was so... Like, you gotta understand, if you've ever been down to the convention center, the doorman dressed like captains. So they got a captain's hat, they have a complete captain's outfit, they have name tags, everything, but he was standing by the doors and I don't... Oh, I'm so embarrassed.
So, what are you doing at Comic-Con? I'm a dope person. I am really excited to meet Isaac from the Love Boat. Wow. I'm so excited. Wow. On the cruise ship, Rob? Yes. Do you get to get off and go into your booth for the Love Boat? I don't have a booth. How many times have you been approached today? Oh, a hundred. A hundred? Are you signing autographs, or do I get to pay? Where do I stand in line? You don't. I just sign autographs. That's awesome. Thank you so much, Isaac from Love Boat. Wow. I didn't know it was him. Someone told me after. I liked it except for the wind tunnel you were staying at, right? Other than the wind tunnel. Hurricane Dolly. Exactly. Yeah. This next one is Rob talking to a guy in full costume that is promoting a barbershop. Barbershop. I don't understand. Cut four. What are you doing down at Comic Con?
I'm here promoting Alpha Male Barbershop. It looks like you got the black wig on, all black. You got scissors for hands. It looks like you're... Edward Scissorhands. So was your Willy Wonka costume at the cleaners today? Something like that. So you're trying to promote Barbershop? Because I got to tell you, if I saw a guy with all knives for fingers, I'd be kind of weary of going down to them. Him cut my hair. Are you going to be doing the haircuts or what? No, I won't. I'm just there promoting. You'll get a hot lady and a hot shave. A hot lady and a hot shave. Anything else? A glass of scotch. See, the last time I had some scotch and I shaved, I looked like Sigourney Weaver and aliens coming out of the bathroom. My dog is half bald. It was not a good time. You're going to give me scotch and then just let me shave? No, you're going to drink your scotch and then have a hot woman shave here. That sounds good. That guy sounds totally stoked. Very happy. Yes, very happy to be talking to Rob. I found Rob hilarious. Yeah, he did. This is worth $6.25 an hour. So, Rob, then you ran into a mutant teenage ninja turtle. Oh, which one? It was Michelangelo. No, Michelangelo. This was my favorite part.
Of the whole day, this guy was awesome. Oh, yeah. Okay. Cut five. So, what are you doing at Comic-Con? I'm working for AT&T promotions. I'm a micro-angelo, and I'm a ninja turtle. He doesn't sound like a teenage man in the turtle. I'm a teenage ninja turtle. Oh, yes, you are. He doesn't even know. 20s, maybe early 30s, Mutant Ninja Turtles. Well, we're celebrating the 25th anniversary right now. Yeah. But I'm actually 30, so. Oh, my God. So there we go. Hey, you probably haven't lost your moves. I thought I saw your back flipping from far away. You got the nunchucks, or what are you doing to impress the ladies today? What are you doing to impress the ladies? I look good, I smile, and enjoy the sun in San Diego. That's beautiful. That the romance begins. So what do you got on the flyer? We got, like, the celebration of the 25th anniversary. We're going to have, like, three booths at the event. And it's all about the Teenage Mutant Ninja. Well said. They've been hitting on me, like, taking pictures and kisses and all that. Beautiful, man. Thank you. Nation of Origin, please, sir. What exactly was that? The sewer, Mike. Come on, dude. From the sewer.
me six, seven times a day. Thank you, Demetri. Rob did run into a couple of ladies out there. Oh, yeah. And boom goes the dynamite. You know it, baby. Got six. So what are you ladies doing down at Comic-Con? Did you guys get lost? What happened? We're here promoting the Grim Fairy Tale series with Xenoscope Comics. I'm dressed as their new character, Callie, and this is the Queen of Hearts. Hello. This is a very nice outfit you got on. Can you describe it for me? You got some bustier thing. It's almost like a French maid outfit, but it's a little bit altered, right? Yes, it is almost like a French maid outfit. It's based off of Alice in Wonderland, only with a twist. So basically, picture Alice's outfit only with a black patent leather bustier top, a short black skirt, and a very low-cut bow. So let's be for real.
Are you really into comics? Come on. Is somebody holding you down here? Blink once. I don't see it, but just all you got to. Exactly. So you ladies blink once. I'll jump in front of you. You guys can take off. You can drop. All right. So what other comics are you into? What exactly are these comics? Are they kind of like. These comics are basically every classic. Rob. Rob, you okay? Almost got taken away. It's dark. It's edgy. It's very sexy. All the girls are very hot. He just got into the eye of the hurricane. Oh, good. It's all silent. And kind of give him a dark little twist. Take, like, Jasmine. He's going to the other side of the hurricane. Basically, what it is, is it's every girl in PB on Halloween. Pretty much. That's what they all say. Rob, what's the deal? Are you standing like right out in front of the convention center? Yeah, I didn't have tickets to go inside. I would have loved those. But yeah, I had to hang out outside. All right, I'm going to leave number seven for last. That looks pretty good. Oh, yeah. So let's go. Next up will be cut one. And this is Rob. He found the Super Mario Brothers.
Okay. All right. And just wanted to interview them, find out what they're up to. Yeah. Cut one. So what you guys doing at Comic-Con? Pretty much just hanging out, checking out what they got here. Have you already been inside? Yeah. Yeah. Just take a quick break. Now, I see you guys are all dressed up. Explain what's up with the getup. I don't know. I'm waiting for somebody to tell me, honestly. Well, I see. You got a big green hat. You got the overalls. You all look like this. Three of you here. You look like the Mario brothers. You are. I'm Luigi, actually. Yeah, so this all came about because we get together a lot and play video games and drink. Still got Nintendo. Yeah. And we were just like, what the heck? Are these homemade? Yeah, yeah, we made them ourselves. So they're still the ones wearing at the cleaners. You guys just made these and it happened. Yeah, we had to make them. They don't just have them out there. I see you got a female playing Mario today. That's interesting. I'm glad to see that that could happen in 2008. We got the purple Mario Brother. Was it a long trip from Hillcrest down here today? Yeah. Wow. All right, all right. So, Rob, what did it look like, the homemade Mario Brothers outfits? It was really good, actually. Really good. It was the blue overalls.
The red t-shirts. Their hats were money. They didn't make the hats at home. Their hats. That's the best part about that. They bought the hats. I saved the best for last night. Boston Rob was talking to a guy who was out there gathering signatures for vampire rights. Are you serious? Cut seven. We're getting people to sign this petition to give vampires rights. for this show called True Blood coming out on HBO in September. So, what kind of rights? I don't understand. Okay. Was that another vampire or I couldn't tell? Yes, that was a vampire. What is she doing out there? Flew by like a bat. She's got SPF 1000. They saw that? Yeah. Hey, Sky, look into that. Oh! Every opportunity. Another vampire? Right. All right, so you got to explain to me what rights don't they have? I don't understand none of this. Because they're dead, they have no rights.
So if I sign this, I'm going to give the vampires the right to vote for, like, Barack or that other guy. Social security benefits? If I sign this, can I sign, but just, you know, just for the guys to have rights? Maybe keep the women from voting. I mean, you guys have a good thing going on. I'm going to write Boston Rob right here. Should have signed it Count Chocula. Signed it in blood. These vampires aren't going to send me like spam vampire mail. Ladies and gentlemen, we got to get pictures, man. We got to get pictures. Dude, I wish I had a real camera down there. Hey, we got to take a quick time out when we come back. First of all, don't go anywhere. When we come back, I got a 911 call of a grandmother. And she's telling the operator that... It smells like there may be a dead body in the car. This thing has really turned into a big deal. I don't know if you guys have heard this story, the Orlando story. We will get to this when we come back. Part of the 911 call. Back after this.

Shark Week is back starting Sunday at 9, only on the Discovery Channel. 053 by Sleep Train Mattress Center. That's a good-looking ride near freeways right now. You will find some reduced speeds kind of left over here in the South 5 out of Lucady up into Delmar. This was due to somebody that lost some mattresses in the freeway here right around Delmar Heights Road. They've been cleared for some time. We're still going to find some snow traffic. Kind of left over. It should be back up to speed here any time. South 15, that's turned into a beautiful ride. That's a clear shot from Escondido all the way down. No worries out of the East County. South 163, though, still pretty jammed up through the park here into downtown. China's dragon emperor conquered half the world, is returning. Finish the job. It's Toon City, I control NBC. We are going to get back to Battle of the Sexes. Bob, finish the mantra that was taught by magazines to teenage girls that goes along with an exercise. So it goes like this, Rob. We must, we must, we must increase our bust. That is correct. No, you're lying. You're lying. I don't believe him. I was being a job. The Mikey Show continues. I'm on the rock. Enjoy. It is 928. Brangelina's security team got into a fight on the grounds of the couple's French Chateau after finding... Chateau? Sorry. After finding two paparazzi dressing gowns. I knew right after it came out of my mouth. It was good. I liked it though. You were very French. Thank you. The Chargers in their first round draft pick. Antoine, que son?
He comes to terms. What? I'm saying his name. All right. Yeah, we got it. So the parent company of the UT says that they're taking the first steps to put the newspaper up for sale. Yeah. What's up with that? I mean... Well, they say it's a real difficult time right now for the newspaper industry. They say that... The internet? Yes. Declining circulation and advertising is due to the Internet. Some people just prefer to read their news on the web and advertisers will prefer to advertise on the web. So, you know, this year alone, the UT cut about 10 percent of their workforce. And so now they're looking to sell the paper. You know, I don't understand why they can't just do the same exact thing. I mean, the only staff I would think that they would have to get rid of is the people that actually run the machines that like. print it onto paper but everything else should stay the same editing advertising uh you know reporters and well but if advertising is down then you know i just don't know why they don't go completely to web you know why not become a web company instead of being a company that does everything on paper and then not have the union tribune anymore
Have the Union Tribune, but just have it be online and you pay for it online. Yeah, you know what I mean? Are we ready for that? No, we are not. I think there's still a segment of the population that has to have that paper. Yes. Wants the paper. Especially old people. I like it. I do. I enjoy the newspaper. Me too. But I'm just going. Yeah. Keep packing. Yeah. Cleaning windows, it's good. Starting fires. Ash, when is the last time... Soaking up floods. Wow. He fires, it was the opposite. Why does that mean something? Ash, when is the last time that you read an article from the newspaper? Does never count? That is a far out question, Mike. That is a far out question. Wow. Do you know? Does never count? I mean... If it's taking you this long, then... I mean, honestly, Mike, like, it was probably... Not even that, because my mom will send me articles because she's constantly trying to get me to read more, and she'll do anything she can to, like, try to, like... Bless her heart. Try to, like, you know, like, little hints to try to get me to read more.
You know, like, read more. Right. She'll, like, send me, you know, like, a sweet little card thinking of you and a little newspaper clipping. I thought you'd find this article interesting, and I don't even read those. Oh, sure. Listen, if you took your Adderall, you'd enjoy reading. The reason that I think that you don't like reading is because us people with the ADD will read a page, and when we get to the bottom of the page, we don't know what we just read. Well, this is the thing. I enjoy reading. If it's something that I am interested in, I'll be totally focused. Coloring books. Highlights. I am really into... One fish, two fish. I got her that book. You're all so cute. Everybody poops. You're cute. You're cute. All of you are cute.
Anything about me. Oh, Rob. What? Oh. Again, I'm so bad at this. Mike. Mike. Yes. I really enjoy the magazine entitled People. I'll read that covered again. Wait a second. Now, wait a second. Now, Ash. Looking at the pictures doesn't count. Now, Ash. Oh, maybe she doesn't know what reading means. What is the laugh? I'm so sorry. Rob. Shut up. Yeah, you're terrible. Thank you. Ash, what is the last... Oh, she just started laughing. She just started laughing. I know the last book. She started laughing. What, Skye? What is the last book she read? Didn't she read like a million little pieces? Did you, Ash? Yeah, I did. I read Dry, which you bought me, Mike. Did you read it? Yeah, I read that. Loved it. It was great. August and Burroughs or whatever. Yeah, August and Burroughs. Did you like it? Loved it. So then I got his follow-up one, Mike, which was Running With Scissors. What did you think? Got about two pages into it. Haven't picked it up since. I got to tell you, you would like that one more. I had to stop reading it because it got too weird for me. Right. But you would love it, Ash. I'm sure I would. Don't stop on that second page. I'm sure I would. Keep going just a little bit and you won't be able to stop reading it.
So then my mom got me for Christmas because it's another hint. She got me, this was literally, this was a year and a half ago. So last Christmas she got me Kite Runner and I got about two pages into that. Everybody loves that book. In my nightstand. Let me tell you what I heard about Kite Runner. My neighbor is almost done reading Kite Runner. Yeah. And she said that like. Through the first third of the book, she was like... I hate that. There's a lot of big words. But she said that she got to a point where it became like she couldn't put it down. Yeah. But she said she had to... And a lot of books are like that. Yeah. You got to kind of get through that initial... Yeah. You can borrow one of my sexy time novels. Sky reads Nora or what is it? It's called Penthouse Forum, Mike. She reads Penthouse Forum. No, Nora Roberts, Mike. Nora Roberts. Pornography. That's the thing. Sky likes to read pornography. It's called softcore. Practically. It's true. I have so many books that I want to read and I just don't get around to it. You have to sit down. You have to focus. You have to be in a calm setting. That's just not really how I roll.
I am reading a book right now that you guys would think is the stupidest. Oh, no. What? Why are you reading that book I recommended to you? Oh, yeah, yeah. The one by the guy that wrote. Cormac McCarthy? Yeah. The Road. You know what? I'm going to bring it up right now and order it because I had just forgotten about it. Entertainment Weekly put out this list, what they called the new classics. Oh, yeah. Like the best. stuff from the past 25 years. And that was the number one book in the past 25 years, according to Entertainment Weekly. See, part of the reason that it's hard for me is because I've got so many going. It's weird, man. You'd like it because it's weird. Yeah. So then my mom just called me the other day. Called me the other day and recommended The Glass Castle, which she said was really good. Has anyone heard of that? The Glass Castle. Yeah, Mike. I have not heard of the Glass Castle. Are you going to read it? The sidewalk ends. Did she recommend where the sidewalk ends? I've read that. Are you there, God? It's me. Eddie, I am buying it on the Kindle. Oh, I knew it. You love that. It's so great, man. It's only $7.96 on the Kindle.
Yeah, but if you get it, Kindle. Wow, that's cool. Yeah, man, that Kindle's the best, man. Let's see. Now, let me ask you a question about Kindle. When you get to a page, does it just save that page where you're at so you never have to lose the page you're at? Exactly. That's cool, man. When you turn it on again, it just opens back up to that page. It's really fun. It's really fun, and it does magazines and everything. I always lose my bookmark, and then I don't know where I'm at. You just fold the page out. Then you ruin the book. No, you ruin the book if you do that. You ruin the book for what? Chantel, are you trying to keep it in mint condition? Yeah. Chantel, have you not heard of the Kindle? No, please clue me in. It's an iPod for books. That's the concept. It's like an iPod for books. It's a device that's about the same size as a book, but it holds. thousands of books in it. And not only does it hold books, it holds newspapers, magazines, and it works on the same kind of deal as like your cell phone. So you could be sitting in your car, like let's say you're sitting in your car. Driving, reading a book. Yes. Say you're sitting in your car and you're waiting for somebody to come out of the grocery store. You're just sitting there bored in your car. You could pick up the Kindle.
and shop in the Kindle store, which they have every great title there is, and you just click on it, and it downloads in about 20 seconds the whole book. Okay, but how do you, I would think you couldn't read it. It would be so small, the print. You can adjust the print to be as big or as small as you want. So it's great for people that don't like reading little tiny print. Yeah, and traveling, it's got to be awesome because you don't have to lug around books and magazines. It's great, and the cool thing is it's like, A little wireless digital paperboy delivers a newspaper to you every morning. Like Paperboy on Nintendo? Exactly. Look out for the breakdancer. They've got the San Jose Mercury News, so if you move from an area and you want to keep up with their sports or whatever, then you can call the police and they'll bring it to you. I like this, Kendall.
That's right. It's pretty cool. But I'm reading a book right now. It's a memoir. And it's a guy. And the whole book is about him growing heirloom tomatoes. What? One more time. That's right. I wrote it. It's written by Old Man Baker. Old Man Baker wrote it? I can't believe I did. I love your book, Old Man Baker. Have you got to chapter seven yet? Not yet. That's where I lost my first wife. When a 5,000-pound pumpkin fell on her head. Oh, my goodness. You grew it. Oh, my. Combination of minestrone soup. Yeah. Pepto-bismol. Okay. And a midget. Oh, it's in the book. Got to get the book. I haven't got there. I haven't got there yet.
That's awesome. Well, you must have gone under another name because it says the author's this dude, Tim Stark. But wait a second, old man Baker. You're saying that it's actually you. It's my nom de plume. Speaking of, I grew a plum once that was the size of Wilt Chamberlain. Wow. It was a plum? Yeah, that's crazy. A plum the size of Will Chamberlain. That's right. I mean, of all the people, Old Man Baker, that you could have, you know, said. Yeah. But Will Chamberlain. Chapter 10. Oh, God. Oh, no. Oh, no. I talk about the carrot I grew that looked like Bronson Pinchot. That's a carrot. That's a carrot. You grew a carrot that looked like Balky. I watered it with Johnny Walker Red and Old Spice. That is not the truth. It's gigantic. Hello, carrots. Wow. Well, then. All right. That's pretty incredible, Old Man Baker. Read the book. Yeah, we've got to get that book. Yeah, we do. Thank you. Sounds good. Wow.
That is our old friend, Old Man Baker. I love vegetables. Apparently, he wrote the book I'm reading. It's called Heirloom Notes from an Accidental Tomato Farmer. Mike, dude, don't admit stuff like that. It's just a guy's memoir on growing tomatoes. Is there adventure happening? There is no adventure. There is no adventure. You know how you're gay? All it is is just a guy that was rummaging through the garbage in New York and he found a bunch of those things that you can plant seeds in and he decided to take it upstairs into his apartment in New York City. And stick a 40-watt bulb over it. And he started growing these seeds. And they outgrew his apartment. So he went to his parents' house who lived in Pennsylvania and planted it on their farm. And now he runs. That's how he makes his living. They were so good. Michael, I'm the air. Are we on right now? Yeah, I'm the air. People can hear you. I thought that this was just us talking. No. Us girls. Us girls. Right? Girls. You're gay!
How did you find out about that book? I was searching books on tomatoes. Oh, no. Wish I knew how to quit you. Whatever. You're listening to Garden Talk on 105.3. There's the woman I'm sexually attracted to. My wife, yes. You guys, I now grow seeds in those little kits that have the plastic top. That you put, you know. You're that guy. I'm that guy. You're that guy. And then once the seed grows into a little plant, then I take it outside, I plant it outside. Have you learned how to clone your plants yet? Why do you do that, Scott? You take budding from that plant, you put it in the little cube under the little humidity dome, and it grows into a whole new plant. Same one. Yeah.
Oh. Yeah, we can show you how to do that. That's a good time. Yeah, so you don't have to buy seeds anymore. Let me tell you how good I've gotten at this junk. Those, all that lettuce that they said wasn't going to grow. Sky, it's as big as Wilt Chamberlain. You read the book. I'm telling you, old man baker knows what's up. Let's see, what else we got? In Texas, a teenager was sentenced for coaxing two and four-year-old nephews into smoking pot. Was it a he or a she? It was a he, and we actually talked about this when it first made news a while back. Basically, this dude was being investigated for robbery, and so they served a search warrant at his house and came across a tape.
Because he videotaped him giving a joint to his little nephews. So it finally made its way through the court system. And yesterday, sentenced to eight years in prison. Not enough. Oh, you think not enough? No. I was pretty shocked at that sentence. I want more. You want more? Sky, what would have been fair? No, I think eight years for me is right on target. Really? Yeah. I think my answer is going to shock you guys. What do you think? I think it's hefty. Did those kids get real hurt? No. They weren't good at all. Oh, yeah, because I think it's an awful thing to do, but unless they weren't hurt and he's a young idiot, you know, he's a teenager. Oh, man, that's a lot.
No way, man. Just imagine him doing that to your kid. I can't. I can't go there. I can't go there. It's awful. And I would say 900 years. Yeah. I mean, it's terrible. You can't do that. I mean, that's like beyond terrible. Yeah. No. There's probably no laws in the books to even go to on that. The judge probably had to get creative on how to. Yeah. I think it's clunking a minor. Yeah, he had two charges of injury to a child causing bodily injury to a child. That's brutal, man. So, Eddie, training camp opens today, right? Yeah, dude, let's go. Now, are we talking two-a-days? Yeah. Okay, so two-a-days. How long do two-a-days usually happen? Two days, three days, or more like a few weeks? For those of you that don't know, practice in the morning and not easy practice. Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. No, we're talking that kind of practice that just makes you want to throw up. So, yeah, don't hit the lunchroom and have a big pasta meal because that'll be all over the field later. Do you guys think that this summer has been mild? I'd say it's medium.
Medium? Yeah, because there's been days where it was really hot. I'd say mild. I haven't thought of this summer, because ironically, the summer that An Inconvenient Truth was out, it was 950,000 degrees in San Diego County that summer. Two years ago, I think. And I have just kind of thought that the weather's been kind of like not that bad. I haven't felt like it's been stifling. Eddie's right. There have been a couple of days. Those weekends, remember? A couple of weekends. It's been crazy. Isn't it like August and September? Isn't that some of the hottest times around here? Because we've got the May gray and the June blue. It's coming up then, right? We're getting there. Eddie, what was Maui like? Amazing.
Gorgeous. Perfection. I think he's asking about the weather. The weather. Don't rub it in. Paradise on Earth. I don't know what else you want. He means the weather. Yeah, that too. I got one. Where's my gift? Where's her gift? Oh, you're at Eddie. You were supposed to get Chantel a gift in Maui. I got her sea urchin finger. He's a treasure. Give that to me since 6.30 this morning. Come get it. That's very sweet. That's so sweet. Yeah, it was in the, like, low 80s. Oh, so that wasn't bad, right? Yeah, no, it wasn't, like, too hot. There was one day where it heated up, and then, you know, you get those weird, like, tropical showers, like, out of the blue. That's cool. But, no, it was never, like, humid or, you know, too hot. It was perfect. Just that music right there makes me nuts. Hey, dude, how was the luau? Did you do the luau? I did. You hated the food. You know, here's what I expected. I expected to love the food and hate the show, but it was the complete opposite. Yeah, I'd agree with that. The food was horrendous, but the show was really cool. Yeah.
I looked at their menu and I was like, dude, I like that. I like that. I like that. I like that. All of it was just bleh. It's all on that sort of cafeteria. You go up to the thing and you scoop it in. It was an all-you-can-eat buffet thing and nobody got up twice. That's bad. And I was like, okay, well, that's bad. Dude, imagine my wife or Sky there, you know, because Rebecca hates it. Yeah. She loves watching the show, but she hates eating that food, and Sky, I bet you would just want to die. Yeah, and whenever we go, we don't even go to Luau's anymore. It's just a waste of money. The show was cool. That is fun. Did you hear this music everywhere, Eddie? Well, yeah, you know, my wife loves the Hawaiian music. Mm-hmm. So she would find it on the radio and that's what we would listen to every single day. And I'd finally at one point go, hey, can we listen to like Gwen Stefani, please? Anything. I can't do this anymore. That dude is or whatever his name is. Yeah, dude. I love that stuff. Love that stuff. That wasn't very.
Well, he's no longer with us, Sean. But when he was here, I'm sure that's what he was. He was sitting around the house. He sits around the piano case. Sean, we get it. He's a large gentleman. Did you know that today is the 25th anniversary of Metallica's debut album? I actually did, Mike. That's right. 25 years since Kill Em All debuted. 25 years? Yeah. Can you believe that? Yep. Here's Lars on their Future Cut 27. It's still fun, and there's still a lot of people that get off on it. And, you know, you're playing 50,000 people in Norway, and most of them weren't born not when Kill Em All came out, but, like, when the Black album came out. You know what I mean? It's like a whole new thing. The question mark is I just don't know physically. The physical element is just the unknown. If we can find a way to deal with that, then I think we can stick around for a while.
You know what's noisy is 50,000 kids in wooden shoes. Wow. Five years. Let's see. What else big do we have? What have I missed? What have you got in your mouth? You guys want to do... What do you guys think about the word association? You guys want to play? We got to take a break. Quick time out. Come back. I'm stunned right now. You guys don't know what to do. I'm stunned. That's definitely not what we're talking about there. The clip you hit earlier. Yeah, the thing you did earlier. Sweep everywhere. You hit earlier, you little. Good morning, puffy. That is definitely not it. Why is he doing that weird thing with the weird... Man, listen to him. Finally over you, too, by the way. Take that. Oh, no. So, Miley Cyrus, we were watching this Today Show this morning. She was performing live outside the Today Show studios, and I'm not kidding you, they had an aerial shot. Crazy. Not only did the people fill up the normal area that they were in, it was going down other side streets. Yeah. It's like the
Beatles are in town. Seriously. She was on the Today Show yesterday, and they were asking her about having a boyfriend. Cut 23. Do you have a boyfriend right now? No. No? Looking. It's hard, you know, when you're hanging out with guys and mentors or friends. It's automatically your boyfriend because that's what the media thinks. But I think it's good if you can be able to have girl and guy friends that... you know, understand you. And it's hard when they do things. They're like, you know, we're just buddies. And it stinks. And when we go out, people immediately think we're together. No! Now, I wonder if she is against having a boyfriend or if she can have a boyfriend. No, she's good looking. She's had boyfriends. She was with one of the Jonas brothers for a little while. Oh, what's up? So she can have a boyfriend. Yeah. She just is not currently in a relationship. Right. No! What about her most embarrassing moment? Cut 24. What has been your most embarrassing moment? It really is embarrassing when you forget the words to your own song. Like the other day, I forgot the words to see you again. I'm like, okay, that song plays 24-7. Like how I forgot the words, I don't know. So that's kind of bad. Or when you get like lost in a dance step, that's pretty, that's hard to like, you know, be like, kind of get yourself back out of. 24-7. I forget the words to her songs all the time. They're on 24-7, Mike. Yeah, how do you? Duh. Advice.
for kids at 25 what advice do you have for kids who are trying to break into the business just if you can confidence i think that's the biggest thing that shines through is when you walk into a room and you you kind of own the room not without being cocky and do you think that that's helped you i think it has helped me just being able to be confident If you have a dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, that helps. Have a famous dad. That may help. No, guys, it's because she's confident. Oh. That's why she's a baby. Our bad. Sorry. She has an icky, breaky dad. Yeah. That's true. Drew Peterson, who most people believe, who a lot of people believe, may have killed his wife. He is, I don't know if you know this, he's a former police sergeant. being accused of murdering his third wife. Her name is Stacy. By the way, he still thinks that she's alive. Must have ran off with another dude. That's what he says. He says he thinks she ran off with another guy. He was being asked on the Today Show about statements that his friends made about his guilt. Cut 21.
Len Wozak and Paula Stark, they say that after your third wife, Kathleen, was found dead back in 2004, that you told them in statements that were unrecorded that the police investigation and the investigation of her drowning was run by, quote, idiots, and that you should have had Kathleen cremated. Do you recall saying these things? I never made any type of statement anywhere close to that. This conversation didn't happen at all? No, and you told me that it was unrecorded. No, this statement was never made. They claim that you also told them you thought you'd be tried and acquitted before Stacey's remains were ever found, which is at odds with the notion that you said you believe that Stacey ran away with another man. Why would you say that if you then thought they would find a body? Good question.
Again, I never made any type of statement like that. Can I say something about that? If you think about it, that's got to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. That somebody would have a plan to commit murder, be arrested, tried, and acquitted before a body was found. I mean, that's just insane to think that somebody would make that type of plan. And by the way, go Packers. Since we're talking about it. Come back, Brett. Yeah. Old number four should come back. Great. This is good. You're going to like this, you guys. Eddie, Sean, anybody that is into X-Men. This was kind of cool. Hugh Jackman at Comic-Con talking about the new movie Wolverine. Cut 40. How you guys doing? I know what you're thinking. This guy is way too tall to play Wolverine. How you doing? How you doing? I literally just got off the plane. We have just finished filming Wolverine. But I've waited years to bring Wolverine here to Comic-Con. Years. Years. You guys know all the people who are in it. We've got a whole new mutants for you. We've got some great characters. We've got some great surprises. And all I'll say is the movie is big. It is action-packed.
A long time I wanted to make this movie, and I've heard from a lot of you guys over the years because that's what I love about you. I always ask, and you're always very honest with me about what you think, and you're going to see a lot of berserker rage, let me tell you. Yeah. Betty, what is that, a berserker rage? I don't know what that is. Oh, man, that was so geeky and awesome. Wolverine, one of the things that happens to him is he goes through this thing called the berserker rage where he just goes crazy and kills people. Sounds berserk. It is. It's off the berserk. I think I get it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dakota Fanning got stuck in traffic trying to get there? Yeah. Cut 41. I was in the car for seven hours. We got stuck in traffic, so I was late getting here, and I'm so sorry, but hello to all of you. I hope that you enjoyed the push footage, and I hope that you enjoy it when the movie comes out in February. So, have a really wonderful day. Dude. 49? I think she's... Oh, my God. Something like that. That is weird. She's like 12. She's worth $49 billion. Oh, wow. Worked with the biggest directors in the world. Hi!
That's crazy. Because I think she got stuck in the traffic. Because remember how yesterday morning we were reporting that Big Rig exploded on the 5 by Pendleton? Coming down from L.A. Coming down from L.A. So how trippy would that be to be stuck in all that traffic and look over and Dakota Fanning's in the car right next to you? She's driving it. Right? It's like when me and Mike saw Kirk Cameron. Yes, it's me. That's me. Hi. So Christian Bale, you know how he got arrested for assault? Yes. Well, he's doing a bunch of publicity right now for the Dark Knight. Yeah. So they asked him about it. And I got to tell you, I've heard this clip. It almost sounds like he didn't think anybody was going to ask him about it because it's almost like he's unprepared. You know, like it's the strangest, like, well, I got one. It's a deeply personal matter. And to respect my privacy on that subject. Yeah, it's like, dude, have something prepared. Yeah, he had to know they were going to ask, right? I think they were going to ask him about that. Anyway, so that's that. I think we've hit the big stuff, man. Hit it.
We've had all the big stuff. Why won't Sean hit it anymore? He never hit the game. He hates us. He didn't hit it anymore. Do you still want to play Movie Word? Oh! Yeah, let's play Movie Word before we do anything. Let's play. Let's do this sucker. Another Mikey game. Yeah. A little something called the Movie Word Association game. Association game. Scene one, take one. Let's do this sucker then, right? Okay. Here's how it works. You call in, you pick somebody that you want to represent you in the movie Word Association game. And Zeth, after I answer him, I need you to put him on hold for me if you can. P1 Brittany, are you there? Yeah. Who would you like? Sky. Oh, what up, Brittany? Let's see. P1 Big Shot, who you want? I want Chantel. You got it. You got Chantel. Put him on hold, Zeth. Awesome. She's so happy. Next up, P1 Mean Gene. Who you want?
Boston Rob. Boston Rob. Sorry. Interesting pick. You got Boston Rob. Not the greatest pick, but you can have him. Put him on hold. He's all yours. What are you talking about, not the greatest pick? Don't you remember last time I started and I was in the finals against Eddie? What's up? Have you ever won? Came real close. P1 crippled. I'll take Eddie. You got it. It's a good choice. Put them on hold. Next up, P1 Clubbin. Are you there? I'm here. Hi, Clubbin. Give me Ashley. Come in, Ashley. Hang on. We have a buddy in the house. Wow. He wants to change his mind. Ash, unless you're 300% that you know the words. Thank you. Michael.
P1 Anti-Sky? Is that what you said? Like my aunt. Like my Aunt Sky. P1 Anti-Sky. That must be what you mean. He means like my aunt. Like A-N-T-I? Well, yeah, that's what it says. It's like my auntie. It's like my auntie. I don't think that's nice. Alright, now Zeth is going to give us the words. Go ahead and put that guy in hold. And you want me, right? Anti-Sky? That is correct. Yeah. It says yes. Yeah. All right. Zeth is going to read a word. We will have about five seconds to be able to use. Zed. To be able to use that word in a movie title. Okay. What order are we going with you not being here? Come on, Mike. We'll do normal order. Okay. We'll start with me, and then it'll go normal, you know, over to Eddie. Then we will go. Chantel? Yeah, let's go Chantel, Skye, Ashley, Rob, Batty. Okay. Sound cool? So you come after me. Okay. Yeah, so we go in an order. And look at that. Chantel was picked second today. I know, and I'm nervous. Oh, you're going to do great. Okay. They must not have heard this game before. Just remember, there's thousands of people listening. Oh, you got bangs. Let's go ahead and start. Are you ready, Seth? Yeah. All right, I will begin. Let's go. Movies with the word little in the title. Little Man Tate.
Big Trouble in Little China. Little Man. Little Rascals. Little Giants. The... Whatever. I blew it. Dude, I wouldn't have had another one after that either. I didn't know anything else. Little Monsters. Oh, good. All right, show off. Red Savage. Yeah, whatever. We know. You love him. We know. How many times? All right. Now we... That means I'm out. Eddie. We start with you. I don't like starting. Oh my gosh. It's you. It's you. It's you. Movies with the word day in the title. Day after tomorrow. The day. The day. The day. The day. Wow. Chantel's out. Really? The day. We start with Sky. All right. Movies with the word brother in the title.
Brother, where are thou? What? I said it. Brother, where are thou? Big Brother. Four Brothers. Wait. Brother? That's a TV show. It's a television. What's going on here? That's a TV show. Big Brother. In Japan, there was a movie. Who's in it? I was starring Yaka Hatsu. Oh, my God. Oh, wow. That was the creepiest laugh I've ever heard in my life. All right, Ash, you're done. That means left playing is Eddie, Sky, and Boston Rob. We will begin with Boston Rob. Yeah, Rizzy. Movies with the word super in the title. Superman. Bad pick now. Yes. I won. now. He should be guessing. I didn't know it was my turn. Super Troopers. My super ex-girlfriend. All the Superman movies. Because I'm looking at Rob and right from Rob it goes to Sky. Bad, shy, and Rob. You're going first next time. You're not sitting there last. I'll meet you in the finals. Oh wait, you're not there. I'll see if you win.
We're all friends. We're all friends. I will, then, just to appease you. Oh, really? Titletown, how many championships do we have after the year 2000? Don't you get me started. What happened in the Super Bowl? No, no, at least we got there, pal. How are the Niners doing? Oh, yeah, it must be nice. I'm wicked jealous. Mike is out of control. He's lost his mind. He's got to screw loose. Okay. Marble loser. Go ahead, Skye. We'll start with you. Okay. All right. Vince Vaughn. Made. Jennifer Aniston won. Oh, my God. Who won? By default. Taking another title back to Boston, baby. How do you like them apples, Eddie? What's it called? The breakup? Yeah. The breakup. Boston Rob wins it. You get an advantage. You go last. At least I know when my turn is. I would too if I went last. Congratulations, Mean Gene. Thank you, Mike. You didn't do anything but sit there. You won for Mean Gene. That's right, I did.
Are they still on the line, Seth? I'd like to thank Eddie for losing. Mean Gene, are you there? I am, brother. You just won yourself something cool. Stone Temple Pilot tickets, dude. That's right. Hang on the line, Mean Gene. Let's see. Sky has a list. Yes. Forbes top payback stars. Now, I assume what this means is however much money the film made as opposed to what they had to pay them. Yeah, so the film earns X amount of dollars for every dollar the actor is paid. Got it. You know what I mean? That should still be Will Smith. No. I would think. Because you have to think, if some actors get a really big salary, the money they recoup on the movie. His salary's got to be gigantoid. So you're basically thinking, who doesn't get paid that crazy?
But the movies do well. Matt Damon. Matt Damon is number six. They make $12.16 for every dollar he is paid. Cameron Diaz. Oh, that was good. No, she makes a boatload. She does? Really? Well, she was the number one on the list yesterday, the Forbes list. Then what about... What about Estelle Getty? Oh, Mike. Too soon. Too soon, Mike. That's so insensitive. That sucks. Too soon. Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer Love Hewitt. She makes a butt load. Butt load, get it? Albert Finney. Whoa. Two of these stars we just talked about within, say, the last 10 minutes. Oh. Sean Puffy Combs. Vince Vaughn. Vince Vaughn is number one. Number one. They make $14.73 for every dollar he is paid. That's right, baby. Hayden Christensen. Wow. That's a good one, though. It should be. He probably got paid nothing. Josh Harnett. We just talked about her, I thought.
What about Mark Bauman? Yeah, dude. Yeah, you make a ton, dude. I get it. That's right. I'm not trying to sell it, bro. I'm just trying to say the films that I do are successful, right? Shove your car in my face again, bro. I'm not trying to do that, bro. Yeah, I get it. Jennifer Anderson's number eight. It's so cool. I'll suggest my agent to you. Jennifer Anderson's number eight. Oh, dude, really? You're a talented guy, okay? I don't need one, dude, all right? They get off on tangents. Come on, you know you're a friend of mine, bro. I want to give you my agent. You know that. I don't need an agent, all right? That's right. You can work for your own. I represent myself, bro. That's right. You do. Dude, I can sell anything. I'm the last thing you sold, bro. Dude, I sold a pair of roller skates on eBay, all right? Oh, wow. That's our friends Mark Bauman and Steve Woods. Yes. I don't know. Candice Bergen. Matthew McConaughey. Kate Hudson. Oh, Loretta Swift. Rod Steiger. Heath Ledger. Ann Hathaway. Too soon? No. Ann Hathaway. Bronson Pinchot. Nicole Kidman. Drew Barrymore. No, she gets paid a lot. Tom Bosley. Tom Green. Marion Ross. Tom Green. Sean. Who was married to Tom Green? What's her name? Drew Barrymore. Oh, Chantel, I just said that. Florida Evans. Florida Evans.
There is a group of high-paid... New Kids on the Block. No. There's a group of high-paid actors who actually made this list because they all agreed to a pay cut to do a certain movie together. George Clooney. Robert Williams. Brad Pitt. Jamie Foxx. Jennifer Aniston. Scott Cain. George Clooney is number seven. Brad Pitt is number four. George Pappard. Banana check. What about George Pappard? Who else was in that movie? Kelsey Grammer. Wait, what were we talking about? The Oceans movie. George Pappard. The Chinese dude. Julia Roberts, number three. Pat Morita. Oh, yeah, Dr. Joe was in there. Okay. Gavin McCloud. Jimmy Walker. Did someone say Hugh Jackman? Yeah, I did. Yeah, I just said it. Eddie said it. He's number nine. Oh, good. Number nine.
So you're missing number two, number five, and number ten. Number two. Maggie Gyllenhaal. Tobey Maguire, Kristen Dunst. Yes, Ashley Tobey Maguire is number two. Dr. Steve Brule. No. Sweet bear wine. Sweet bear wine. Peanut gnar. Wait, we have two more? Yes. Will Ferrell. Can I tell you? Great story. Compelling and rich. John Candy. Rick Moranis. Daniel Craig. Did you hear me? I don't know. I don't know. Number 10 is Ben Stiller. I said that. And number 5 is Naomi Watts. There it is. We're officially out of stuff.
You're welcome, everyone. Yeah. We're good to go. Let's take some phone calls. 570-1053. Give us a call. Beginning and end of every show. We do an open phone segment. So you can call in about anything you want to. Give us a call. Also, I want to... We got a request from P1 Raider Hater to send out some prayers for somebody that he knows. Who is it? Eddie? He's right here. Are you there, Raider Hater? Who can we send out prayers for you? His name is John Ortega. What's going on? He's fighting right now. He's in the hospital. With what? He's fighting some cancer. Okay. And we're just hoping he, you know. Is he a friend? Yeah, a friend of the family. He's been around the family for a long time. How old is he? He's in his 60s. Okay. I'd just like if anybody out there would throw out some.
Good vibes or a prayer or anything like that for them. Absolutely, man. It means a lot to a lot of people. Absolutely. Thanks a lot. We will do that. We will do that. 570-1053, open phone segment. So please give us a call. And, yeah, we're wrapping the week up. And next week I will be back. in the studio. What up? This week I've been doing it from home and it's been... You missed us, huh? I did. I'm looking forward to being able to come back and hang in the studio with you guys. Cool. No more chasing rattlesnakes. Nope. That's right. None of that. No more rattlesnake action for me. Yeah, let's take some phone calls. Mikey Show, hello. Can you hear me? I can hear you now. What's up, man? Hey, what's going on? How you doing today? Good. Is Eddie around there? Yeah, he's sitting right here. You're on the air, bro. Oh, am I really? Mike, come on. What's up, dude? Eddie, question for you. Yeah, man. Do you have your black cap on? As a matter of fact, I do. You do? Yeah. Wow. That's my boy. What you doing? Nice, nice. That's right. I know how you do. I wanted to say hello and how are you doing today? Oh, yeah.
Oh, well. What about the rest of us? Just you, girl? Just you. Because Chantel yelled at me last time, so I wanted to say hello to Chantel. Hi. And Oates, hey, good job on the board, home skillet. Right? Congratulations to Oates working the board. Good job. Way to be there. Thanks, Piven. You have a good weekend. Did you just say, thanks, Kevin? He said, pimpin'. Pimpin'. Thanks, Piven. Oh, okay. I was like, wow. Does AO have a name and it's... Kevin? Keeping his pimp hands strong, Mike. All right. Well, thank you, Kevin. Oh, I got him. He liked that one, Eddie. Thank you, bro. Wow. Hey, Eddie. Hey, hey. You're off the hook. Yeah, dude. Hey, scream like you did yesterday. Huh? Scream like you did yesterday. Okay, let's see if I got one in there. Hold on. What is it? That's incredible. He's scared. That's what he sounds like when he's scared. Oh, man. That's so awesome. We've got to have that as a clip. Hey, wait a minute. Ayo, Ayo, Ayo. Hang on a minute. We've got to get that again, but we've got to get it with nobody's target so we can get that as a clip forever. Oh, God. Everybody be quiet. Let's get this. That's so awesome. Got to make sure. Ash, get that to Sean, all right? Can I say one thing? Yeah. That does not make me any less of a man. Absolutely not.
I plant tomatoes. What can I say? You know what I mean? Thank you, bro. What up? Be easy. Peace. Mikey Show, hello. Mikey Show. I guess that's not working. No. Mikey Show, hello. Hey, Mikey, if you want Josh. What's up? I got a legitimate question. I know this guy is such a big celebrity. Is she going to Comic-Con to sign autographs or? Skye, will you be signing any autographs to Comic-Con? The convention center's not big enough, Mike. No, you're all so funny. Qualcomm or something like that. You're all hilarious. Yeah, that's great. That's great. They're trying to do some line control over there. Hello. Okay, yeah. Thank you very much. Very funny. Mikey Show, hello. Well, these P1s. Who is talking in the background? It's all the P1s. They've been making ham jokes and black guy jokes and helicopter jokes. And everything. Yeah. Mikey Show. All morning long. Yeah, right? Makes it a joy to come to work, actually. Mikey Show. Hello. Hey, guys. P1 Arturo Fuente. What's up, dude? Hey, Mikey. Congratulations on the weight loss you got, man. Oh, thank you, brother.
No problem. You looked very slim in the p1site.com video where you were talking. I wouldn't say slim, but I've definitely lost a couple of pounds. Smilt. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, thank you, brother. And I know how it goes because I've lost 100 myself. Oh, congrats. I was 285 when I was 16, and my lowest was 185 a year ago, and I'm bulked up to about 195 right now. Wow. Wow, dude. Congratulations, man. Hey, thanks, dude. But, hey, I got a guest that should have been on Sky's list. What is it? Bobby Intersaka. Oh, holy. Whoa. Holy cow. How did that guy? Oh, my. Oh, my. What? Dude, you should win a prize for that. I can't even. The most obscure reference ever. That's a guy that we worked with about. 20 years ago, and we've made his name as an obscure reference a few times. Oh, my God. You've probably said his name two times in the last four or five years. That was incredible. Nice job. Nice job, brother. Well done. All right. Well, it is Friday. It's the end of the show. And at the end of the show on Friday, I do something called Give You My Testimony.
And the idea of it is that I just I tell you what's happened in my life and what God has done in my life over the last few years. And there's some people that when you hear that, you go, oh, man, he's going to talk about God on the radio. But there's actually there's a reason for it. There was a time in my life I was 100 percent addicted to alcohol. I couldn't stop drinking. I was telling somebody the story the other day about my dad calling me over to. the house and telling me that if I continued to drink, he couldn't have a relationship with me. He said that with tears. And I'd never really seen my dad cry before. So that was a pretty tough thing to see. But because the addiction was as strong as it was, I still wasn't able to stop. And I left that day. I went and I bought, I took it home and I drank it. Addiction is a really, really tough thing. You're addicted to something.
Your family and everything goes out the window. As I'm talking right now, I know that there's people that are listening that can relate to it because you find yourself there now. And there may be a feeling in you of hopelessness. A feeling where you don't feel like you have anything to get better for. Or you feel like it's much bigger than you. And you couldn't even if you wanted to. So I tell you my story about how one night I asked. I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life and to change all of that. And he did. And today I'm able to be on the radio and tell you this story. Because the truth is, is that without him, I wouldn't be here today. I wouldn't be able to tell you any of this today. There are people that are listening that don't. People that have lost a mother or a father, a wife or a son or a daughter or someone very close to them.
There are people that are listening right now that are going through really, really, really hard financial times that are making you feel hopeless. There are people that are finding it hard to provide for their families because of the way that the economy is right now, and they feel lost and hopeless. There are people that are listening right now that may be dealing with a disease that makes you feel lost and hopeless. And the reason that I tell you all this stuff is because I want you to know that there's hope. For me, it was through Jesus Christ. And it could be the same for you. What I do was ask him into my life and he did all the work. So if you're going through any of those things that I just mentioned right now, I just want you to know that there's hope. That's why we play this song. It's by a band called Third Day. And the song is all about hope. You can go to MikeyShow.com and in the keyword section, type in the word help.
It'll take you to an area on my website that will give you help in all of those different areas that I told you about. And you can also ask me to come and give my testimony at your church or program. Lovely and talented Missy's up next. See you again on Monday. Have a great weekend.
