Mikey, Eddie, Sky, Ashley, Sean, Boston Rob and Zeth moved between elaborate comedy bits and unusually candid arguments. Sean's first complete viewing of The Godfather, Zeth's revolting jelly-bean taste test, the Mandalorian wedding and a chaotic Dumb Chick Challenge supplied the biggest studio laughs, while callers added stories about uncontrollable laughter and a disastrous tough-man fight. Phillip Rivers discussed recovering from ACL reconstruction and keeping the Chargers focused, and Richard Simmons' congressional testimony led the crew into a substantive debate about childhood obesity, school food, exercise and parental responsibility. Sky and Mikey also argued over whether boycotting hotels connected to Proposition 8 was an attack on lawful opinion or a justified response to funding that would restrict gay couples' rights, before the show reported Shia LaBeouf's DUI crash and closed with a prayer request for Andrew Ayabe.
What happened, in order
Sean Finally Sees The Godfather
Sean admitted he had never watched The Godfather films all the way through, prompting Eddie and Mikey to roast him before he described finally seeing Mikey's father in Part II.
The Disgusting Jelly Bean Gamble
Zeth sampled look-alike Jelly Belly flavors and gagged through vomit and used-baby-wipe beans after first getting lucky with buttered popcorn.
Mandalorian Wedding at Comic-Con
The show played audio of two Star Wars fans exchanging Mandalorian vows at Comic-Con, which proved too geeky even for devoted fan Eddie.
Dumb Chick Challenge Upsets
Sky won the Dumb Chick Challenge by identifying Stephen King as Richard Bachman after Ashley missed Ireland's flag colors and confused narcolepsy with halitosis.
Phillip Rivers on His Comeback
Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers said his reconstructed ACL felt stable, argued the team had to ignore Super Bowl hype, and defended his animated on-field banter as harmless fun.
The Pulp Fiction Laughing Fit
Mikey recalled laughing uncontrollably for half an hour after Christopher Walken revealed where the family watch had been hidden in Pulp Fiction.
Boy Blunder's Tough-Man Disaster
Mikey and Eddie retold how Boy Blunder was brutally overmatched in a supposed exhibition fight, knocked off his feet, and surrounded by a near-riot after Eddie jumped into the ring.
A Wedding Laughs Off the Rails
P1 Night Train described a Catholic wedding where a reader fell from the altar and a laughing groomsman farted so loudly that even the next reader cracked up.
Richard Simmons Takes on Childhood Obesity
Richard Simmons told Congress that childhood obesity had stolen his youth, while Mikey and the crew debated whether theatrical delivery, better school food, physical education, and parental choices would actually help.
The Proposition 8 Hotel Boycott
Sky explained the boycott of two hotels whose owner funded Proposition 8, and she challenged Mikey's view that a lawful donation should be tolerated by arguing that customers may withdraw support when money is used to li
Shia LaBeouf's DUI Crash
Sky reported that Shia LaBeouf flipped his truck while allegedly driving under the influence, injured his hand badly enough to delay Transformers 2, and still faced only a misdemeanor because no one was seriously hurt.
A Prayer for Andrew Ayabe
P1 Captain Jack Sparrow asked listeners to pray for his best friend Andrew Ayabe, who was awake but unable to speak after suffering unexplained head trauma.

was arrested yesterday morning for DUI after getting into a car accident. Hold up. Wait a minute. Stop the presses. The Padres have won three straight. What? That's right. They beat Pittsburgh 3-1 yesterday. Mike needs to go up there? Yeah, a little bit. How's that? That's better. And Ash, can you send a help desk about your pot on the board? The light is off. Welcome back. And I am back in the studio. It's nice to be back into the studio and... joining the crew live in the studio. I was doing the show from home all last week. But now I'm in here and it's good to be back in here. So it's nice. It's a nice little rest, but I'm ready to go. And I'm just trying to find the courage to let you P1s know about the week and Thursday and Friday. At some point I'll find the courage and the way to deliver that to you in a way that will not...
You know, make you despise. I heard the best way is just to ignore things. Ignore it. That's a good idea. They just go away. Let me tell you something. Under normal circumstances, that's not the way I roll, but I think I might like that. I think that may be the best way to go about it. So let's just get this puppy started. My name is Mikey. I'm the host of the show. I'm 38 years old. One of the things that I found when I was on break was that... McDonald's makes everything taste good and be addictive, including their coffee, their iced coffee. Uh-oh. I tried their sugar-free vanilla. Did you do that, Sky? No, but I hear people talking about it all the time. Have you had the vanilla coffee at McDonald's? Yeah. Rob, like, swears by it. Rob, the sugar-free vanilla coffee, iced coffee? Oh, yeah, dude. Oh, yeah, dude. It's so good, it's weird. Have you had the Big Mac? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Dude, that thing tastes so good. Oh, man. They got us some sort of special sauce. Yeah. Yeah, that stuff's good, man. Yeah. We got all kinds of stuff to share to tell you. Oh, and the phone lines are going. So call us. 570-1053 is our phone number. So give us a call. I still have my girdle on. Aw. You know? Yeah. I'm still wearing my girdle. Sexy. Yeah, it is.
It's called a surgical binder, and I have two of them on. They wrap around my middle, and they wrap around my boobs. Oh, hello. Oh, sweet. And they hold everything tight. It's called a bustier. Yes, it is. It's got this lacing up the front. It's nice. Really sweet. It keeps everything in. And, man, it's so funny because when I laugh is when I know that sucker is... It's working. It's because you have big jugs. How long are you going to wear it? Well, the doc says that he's unclear. He doesn't want to commit. So he's all over the place on the map when I ask him about that. And my guess is somewhere between six weeks after my surgery date, which was July the 10th, or about five more weeks from now. It should be even longer. He advocates wearing it a long time because what it does is all of the work that he did, it squeezes everything together to promote the healing and to promote all the stuff sort of fusing together really well. Maybe don't wear a bra next time. When you take it off, your body is allowed to relax and he doesn't really want that. He wants it to be tight and
you know, to mend. I want it off. You know, it's uncomfortable. It's embarrassing to have on a girdle, you know, to wear a body bra is just kind of embarrassing, you know, if you're a man. I think they call them Spanx now, Mike. Yeah, I'm wearing Spanx. I'm wearing Spanx. I want to squeeze them. I don't want Spanx on, you know. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He's 35 years age, been my best friend for, man, 20-some years, man. We met when we were kids, grew up together in Gilroy, California, and now we work together here. We've worked together for years, man, one way or the other. Eddie's a new homeowner, and I want to get into that, ask him questions about that. Awesome! Sky's our news girl, 30 years old. I've known Sky for a long time, too. In fact, I met her in 99, and so next year will be a decade of Sky and Mike. That's right. Where are you taking me for our animals? That's right. I got to figure out. What is 10? What is 10? I like Outback. I know you do. Mike, you love Outback. You love it. They make a good steak too, right, Scott? Oh, yeah. They do, right? They got like 17 slices or something on there. Saturday night, we wanted to go to dinner. And we, man, when you get five people trying to agree.
It's just so hard to get people to agree, you know? I can't even agree with just me and my wife. It's true. It's true. And all I wanted Friday night, I just wanted a steak. I just felt so bad. I felt like eating beef. It's what's for dinner. Let's see. Sean is our sound effects man. He's 38. I have news to share about Sean. It's a revelation. It's something that he's never shared. We can do it later, though. It's something he's never shared. Yeah, I'm not going to do it right now. Yeah, after the show probably is the best. Oh, no. I would think so. It's something that he's never shared with us. And I'll give you this much of it. No, no, no, no. I'll give you this much of it, Eddie. Yeah, give me a tidbit. It is a couple of movies that Sean's never seen. Now, I'll tell you this, Eddie. This is what's going to irritate you even more when you find out. Because when you find out, it's going to be such a shock. Is that so bad? Not only that will it be a shock. That is so bad. But there's been times where others have maybe not seen these two movies. And we've all flipped out. And you're going to go, during those flip out moments, Sean didn't say a word. Really? Quiet as a mouse. That's right. Oh, really?
Interesting. Just wait, dude. Interesting. I gotta come clean. What do you want? Yeah, he's gotta come clean. And I can't see Sean today because, well, because that monitor, this monitor right next to me is out. It doesn't work. The computer. The computer itself? Fried. No way. That's great. The whole thing needs to be replaced. You should be able to pull it up on your... On your little computer. Yeah, I think I might have to do that. You have to do that. By the way. Sean looks great today. Does he? Yes. Do you look phenomenal? Yes. Exactly the same as ever. I'll bet you that that computer down there is a Commodore computer. True. Built by the actual, the Commodores. Yeah. They're big programmers. That's right. Ashley's our assistant producer. Her bangs are rocking. She's got those bangs rocking. She's blonde. I watched her play with her for 10 minutes before the show. Are you serious? She plays those bangs constantly. Especially prior to the show starting because they have to be perfectly dispersed for the show to start. Or else I'm thrown off. There has to be even separation between each individual bang. Ashley, this is the color that I think is best for you. That is what my boyfriend says.
that when I wear this yellow. Yellow is good for Ashley. Now, Ashley is a person that, and many of us are like this, we want a particular color to be our color. Right. We force ourselves upon the color. Like black. Yeah, well, that one, and another one Ash likes, well, I don't know that you like it, but you try it. Is that, remember that orangish, kind of rustish thing? Coral? I didn't know what that's called. There are gay guys right now that are like, really? But yellow's good for ash. The blonde hair and all that works well. Boston Rob. He is a tattooed gentleman. He's sleeved, actually. His right arm is completely sleeved. And then he's, of course, got the word Boston tattooed across his neck. What? On his throat. Yeah. But despite that, he's a good guy. Really good guy. I'm worried about him. Why? The Yankees are on the heels of the Red Sox. Oh, Boston, Rob, that's got to hurt, right? Prior to yesterday, they had won eight straight and were a game behind the Red Sox. And luckily, the Red Sox won yesterday, but... Thank God. Oh, boy. If I were a Red Sox fan, I would have been freaking out. Well, Eddie, you know that his happiness pretty much rests on the... That's true. ...on the Boston Red Sox. We're not freaking out yet.
How could you not be? They're there. They're there again. Oh, they are. And all this drama going around about Manny. That had me more heartbroken yesterday than anything. Yeah, this Manny Ramirez deal, I guess, is that, well, he says he's willing to accept the trade. Yep. I mean, out of the blue. It's not like the Red Sox are out of it. I mean, by any means. I mean, they're right there. But he says, you know, hey, listen. If the Red Sox are better without me, then I'm willing to go. Trade me. Get me out of here. Do you think that those guys in Major League Baseball, you would think that they have insurance that would pay for sort of counseling? Oh, man, that'd be a great investment. Because Manny, I think that might be the cure. There's actually a phrase that goes along with Manny Ramirez that everybody kind of knows if you're a Red Sox fan. It's called Manny. Being Manny. Yeah. Yeah. And this is Manny being Manny. Listen, I hear it. That's how they deal with it. You hear it on ESPN. You hear it everywhere. Like when you hear sportscasters talking about Manny Ramirez, it's like the fun phrase to say. And it is a phrase. Like it might as well be on t-shirts. It's Manny being Manny. It is? Oh, yeah. It's Manny being Manny. And he is. He's just a little, he's daffy. Oh, he's a little loopy. A little daffy. For sure. No doubt about it.
Then finally, seventh member of the show is Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire, M.D. Rosie. Rosie. He's tall. He gets himself into a lot of mishaps. Wow. You know, if his show were a sitcom, every episode would be like, what happened to Zeth this time? You know, there's always something going on. Something happening, but we love them. And why don't you call us? 570-1053 is our phone number. And also, in addition to calling, text. Use your text messaging. It's the new millennium. Everybody's into it. 35253 is our text number. Zeth, make sure you're getting those to me all morning. Hey, Rob, do me a favor and blow up the phone screener. Make it nice and... Nice and hefty, hefty, hefty. Ate my first tomato from my garden yesterday. It was okay. What happened? I want more seeds and juiciness. And this was more meaty. It looked like a solid tomato almost.
You're not following the rules. There he is. It's Old Man Baker. Old Man Baker. He's the guy that taught me all this stuff. He's a gardener. Old, old guy. You got to put the Pop Rocks and the Guinness together and spray your tomatoes. See, he has a lot of home remedies. Yes, he does. He's got a lot of home. Pop Rocks and what? And a Guinness. Pop rocks in a Guinness. What is that? Don't question me, buddy boy. Oh, man, Baker, you're good. I know that. I know that. So if I put the pop rocks in the Guinness, and then what do I do? Do I just shake it up, spray it on there? No. Pixie sticks in your mouth and spit at your tomatoes. That's so stupid. That's what you do. That is not true. You want a juicy tomato? Yes, I do. Yes, I do. I once grew a tomato so big. When you cut into it, it flooded my house. Old Man Baker. That's juicy. That's Old Man Baker. That's Old Man Baker, and I'm going to try that. I'm going to put the Pop Rocks of Guinness. Yeah, you got to. And then I'm going to put pixie sticks in my mouth and spit on the tomatoes. They get juicy. This text message says, Mikey, how's Eddie's DirecTV? That's P1SV SmartWire.
And he is rubbing his hands together like, here we go. Here we go, baby. All right. Came out on Friday. Yeah. And kind of a strange deal. Yeah. He came out and, you know, the tech was like, oh, you know, I heard you had a lot of problems. You know, that sucks. I'm like, yeah, it's been kind of a tough situation, but I'm dealing with it. And he goes, oh, you know, that's crazy, man. I mean, you closed on your house like a month ago. How come you don't? And I went, excuse me? That's not in my file, is it? How do you know that? He goes, oh, I'm P1. And I went, oh, wow, okay. Could have told me that when I opened the door, but that's fine. That's weird, isn't it? It caught me off guard, but he was really cool, and he hooked it all up, and I have television. Dude. I have HD television. Nice. You got the HD screen? Oh, yeah.
Yeah, I bought all new TVs. You must love it. It's crazy good. I had no idea the amount of channels that were in HD that were specifically HD, like the HD net and stuff like that. Great. What awesome programming it is. I love it. That's so cool. Yeah, that's killer. So you're rocking it. Oh yeah, big time. 35253 is the text number. This text says, hey, Mike, look at the bright side. Your cleavage has never looked this good. Oh, well. There it is. There's the first cleave joke. P1 T-Rex is on the line. What's up, T-Rex? What's going on? Hey, one thing. I know everybody had dates on Zeph when he was supposed to actually go to jail or get picked up. Yeah, because his license is revoked. Is that the deal? Yeah, that's right. And he's still driving around. Allegedly. Yeah, allegedly he is. Thank you, Sky. We don't actually know that he is. Did anybody write it down? Yeah, Sky, you wrote it down? Yeah, I have it in the office. Go ahead, T-Rex. I had August the 1st, so that's coming up pretty soon. I just wanted to make sure he would be careful. Yeah.
Yeah, some might say, T-Rex, that you're actually throwing it out there to kind of get it close to your date. So that's a payday. Is that a payday weekend for you, Zeth? I don't know. I don't know. I just know that right now Zeth has a look on his face like, all right, great. Well, aren't you an awesome person? Aren't you a really wonderful guy through and through, is what that face says right there. Thank you, T-Rex. Appreciate the phone call. Stay away from professional football players in the urinal. Okay, well. I walked up to Troy Aikman in the urinal. Shook his hand. Oh, but he... Ew. I know. I know. It's so uncomfortable. I know. P1 Ginger? Yeah. This is P1 Ginger? Yes. Oh. That was Marianne. Hey. Hey, what's up? I was just wondering if the gas monkeys... Oh, no, you don't. Oh, no, you don't. How dare you, sir? No. How dare you go by P1 Ginger and don't address it. How dare you do that? I never really watched the show.
Your name is really Ginger? Yeah. No, it's Tyler, but I go by Ginger usually. Why do you do that? The South Park episode, I've red hair. And your buddy started calling you Ginger? Yeah. Oh, wow. You're okay with that. He's good with it, man. Not only is he good with it, he calls himself Ginger. That's crazy. Anyway, what was your question, Ginger? So I was just wondering if the gas monkey is going to be coming up to, like, North Carolina, like in Bedito, or will we have to keep on following Sky around and catching the billion-dollar bills behind our cars? Shut up. Shut your dumb, stupid mouth. That is hysterical. The gas monkey. Yes. Yeah. It is a gas monkey, man. Starts Monday, one week from today. We're going to be sending Boston Rob out in a monkey outfit. In the Rock 105.3 van pulling over cars that have the Mikey Show P1 Army sticker on their car. Awesome. You got to get the sticker on your car because the gas monkey is going to be driving around pulling you over, offering you a banana. And taped to the banana will be gas cards anywhere from $25 to $250. The gas monkey starts on Monday. Silly? Of course, man. We'll send them all over the place. For sure. Gas monkey will be all over San Diego County.
We're going to spread the love, man. So don't you worry about a thing. We'll get up there and get the job done. We got a really good show for you today. We got a lot of cool stuff on. We do have to talk about the gas monkey. Plus, before the hour is up, we have a cool contest that we're going to be doing at the radio station on Wednesday. And yeah, I got to tell you all about that. Dude, it's going to be cool. Text us. 35253. Love getting those texts. Phone number is 570-1053. And let's see. What else we got up? We're going to do the DCC this morning. Yes, we are. The Dumb Chick Challenge coming up. Ashley. That's right. You can do it, Ash. Stop it. It's your time. That's right. P1 Trivia is coming up. We got YouTube Clip of the Day. And I do have audio of Comic-Con and Star Wars fans getting married. Impressive. Now. P1 trivia. The opportunity to come into the studio on Wednesday. Don't do it. I'm just saying. Okay, just keep going. We win an opportunity to come in the studio on Wednesday. Is that it? Should I just leave it at that? Just coming in on Wednesday. Just leave it there and just say, hey, that's the deal and let people fend for themselves as to why it's Wednesday. Is that what we do? Eddie, is that what I do? Well, listen. What do I do? I think we've been honest with the P1s and I think they'll be fine.
Did you bring your Kevlar to work today? No, I'm kidding. I'm fine. I sure did not. I sure did not. No kidding. You can go out first. Thanks. Very briefly, folks. Uh-oh. It happens every year. I'll be over here. It happens every year. They know. You should have it written down. It happens every year. It does. Yeah. It's okay. It doesn't. Yes, it does. It does, too, happen every year. Thursday and Friday. Friday. Yeah. Yeah. All right, cool. Thursday and Friday is best of. There's a good reason. Calm down. There's a good reason. We're going to Denver. We're going to boot camp as a show. We do it every year. We have to go. It's not our decision. I know what all the P1s are like. You just took a week off. I had to get surgery. You jerk. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I had to get surgery. And so this week, Thursday and Friday. Hey, listen.
We're flying out seconds after the show ends on Wednesday. We could have taken Wednesday out, but I said, no, we have to work that day or the P1s will freaking kill us. Thursday and Friday, we're going to be in Denver. Come on now. We got nothing planned until the end of the year. Everybody breathe. Dude, when we get back from that, we're literally not taking any time off until Thanksgiving. Then they'll be like, Thanksgiving! I can't. You work. So anyway, there it is. 570-1053 is our phone number. And 35253 is our text number. We want to hear from you. And let's do a little Dane Cook in the stand-up spotlight. Late, right? When you wake up, you know it. Before you even look at the clock, you just get this feeling in your chestal section. Right? You're just...
You're so comfortable and cozy, and then you're like, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late. You just know. And then you're like, okay, wait, no, wait a minute. And you look at the clock, and you're like, damn it, I am late. I hate that I'm like Nostradamus, and I predict that I'm late. I hate it. Foreseeing lateness. And if you have to be to work at 8, it's always like 7.54. Just enough time to do nothing. To just lay there and go, I can't even have an English muffin. one thing I want to do. You're going to wear that fat sweater that keeps you stinking because you can't even shower. You look like Dr. Huxtable. You're like, hey, this is my Christmas sweater in July. I shave my head bald, I'm atrocious to look at, and I have a good sense of humor. Eddie. I hate anything except for... Sky. I'm sorry, I talk like an old human. I'm sorry, I apologize. It's opposite. Sean. Sky's right. Boston Rob. I got Boston on my mind. Your throat. I despise theme parties. They make me really uncomfortable. I hate them. The Mikey Show's on. Rock 105.3. This is the number one rock song in the country. It's the Foo Fighters, and it's called Let It Die. It is 637. That thing just keeps getting worse. That's not good. Our text number is 35253. We got a text that says, Eddie, did you watch the Elite XC fight? And if you did, what did you think of it? I don't know what that is, Eddie. What is it? You know how CBS is airing primetime MMA fights now? Oh, that's right. Yeah, they had their second one on Saturday night. And I thought it was very good. I thought that their product improved. dramatically as far as the production elements and the card. I thought the card was very entertaining. It was good. It was much better. What did they do to make it a little bit better? I remember that first time you weren't that stoked. It was messy. Not as slick as the UFC as far as production value goes and things like that. I think they figured it out a little bit. It was better. Let's see. Next text message says, Mikey, is the gas monkey going to happen in the morning only? The answer is yes. It is only going to happen in the morning because Boston Rob is the gas monkey. And so, you know, he's the only guy that's willing to put on that suit. And truth be known, he's not even really willing. He's asking him to do it. But yeah, he'll be driving around in the Rock 105.3 van dressed as a monkey. And if he sees a Rock 105, if he sees a Mikey show P1 Army sticker on your car,
He'll pull you over. Walk up to your car with a bundle of bananas. Real bananas? Real bananas. Sick. And taped to it will be gas cards. Potassium and gas. Potassium and gas. All in one. Yeah, one swoop. Fantastic. Yeah, we haven't even really mentioned the value of getting free fruit. That's a great point. I mean, not only are you getting free gas, you're getting a banana. Bonus. And so that gas cart could be worth anywhere between $25 and $250. And right now, that means a lot. Even though Sky was telling me this morning that gas prices are going down a little bit. Yeah. For the 20th straight day, gas prices have ticked down, they say, over the past 20 days. Thank you, John McCain. That's right. That has nothing to do with John McCain. That's right. John McCain. Nothing at all. He did it all. Vote right in November. That's right. You know what to do. But yeah, so they say gas prices are down a total of 33 cents in the last 20 days here in San Diego County, bringing the average here in San Diego to $4.30 a gallon. Went on to the website, sandiegogasprices.com.
And three separate stations on Broadway in Chula Vista are selling gas right now for $3.97 a gallon. Wow. I'm buying a bunch of gas cans and headed down there. That's right. Right. And then the highest gas is at a 76 station on Claremont Mesa Boulevard going for $4.79 a gallon. So there's almost a dollar difference depending on what part of town you buy your gas in. That's crazy. Yeah. Well, it's good news, though, because when you first said it, I thought that you were going to say that gas prices had gone down here like a penny. So that's good to hear. Oh, yeah. At least it had gone down a little bit. Yeah, and the national average just went under $4. It's like $3.99 for the national average, which is the first time under $4 in a while. Well, would you guys like to know what movies Sean hasn't seen? Well, I have seen them now. Eddie's already bracing himself. He's got that look on his face right now. It can't be what I'm thinking. It can't be. I bet it is. One of the biggest movies of all time? I know Eddie really well. I think you know exactly what it is. What is it? The Godfather movies? Yes. How can that be more? Eddie, you got it.
I don't know. Eddie's standing up. Oh, he's upset. Sean, he's upset. Eddie's standing in front of me. He's got hands out like, Mike, how is this possible? I know. I know. It's troubling. It's troubling. But you don't need to get all worked up. I know. Eddie, think of all the times that we've mentioned people that haven't seen him. Well, yeah. And not only that, your dad was in Godfather 2. We talk about that all the time. And Sean plays right along. Yeah, that's right. That's right. Doesn't even know what we're talking about. Phony baloney. Yeah, dude, I saw them. It was really great. Sean. Sean, how is this possible that you've never seen them? It's not that I've never seen them. It's that I've never seen any of them all the way through. I've seen like bits and pieces here and there. But how? How have I seen bits and pieces? How have you been alive on this planet and a man? And not seeing The Godfather. You didn't own them, Sean? Number one, they're really long. Like, these movies are not short. Are you kidding around with that one? Oh, please. Oh, man. Godfather 2 was a struggle, man. But, yeah, I got through both of them on Sunday. My jaw just dropped open. I don't even... Wasn't 2 the good one?
They're both really good, man. They're both really good. They both won Best Picture. Then why was number two such a struggle? It was long. It was a struggle because it was long, man. And it was on the heels of Godfather 1. So I watched them back to back. It was like almost, well, it was over six hours worth of movies. It was long. And Sean, you didn't own them? I did not own them, but I went out and bought them. I specifically bought them to watch them. Shame on you. I know. What did you think of The Godfather? Yeah. And the Godfather Part 2. 1973? I know. I know. Obviously, I thought they were really great. They were really, really good. And, okay, yeah, anyway, so, yeah. They're really good. I don't want to get it.
That new up-and-coming actor, Al Pacino, is really good. It's really amazing how many people were in it, how many big, big stars now were in it back then. It's really amazing. Not only that, but now when you see, oh, I don't know, maybe a billion pop culture references. Right. You know, now when you see... That whole, like, Luca Brasi thing, you know, I had no idea what that was. Oh, my... I know. You know, on the day of your daughter's wedding. Be a masculine child. You never knew what we were talking about. You son of a gun. It's funny because I'm watching the movie and I'm going, oh, yeah, right. This is unreal. Eddie, this has been parodied like a million times in a million things. when the movie studio guy finds the horse's head in his bed. Yeah, yeah. I'd seen that before. Oh, good. Hey, what did you think of my dad's performance in The Godfather Part II? It was really crazy. So I didn't know where that scene was. I didn't know anything about it. And we're watching it along, and I'm like, wow, that guy, that dude looks like Mike. And then I heard him go, nurse.
And my wife looks at me like, what? Nothing funny happened right there. And I go, no, I think that's Mike's dad. And she's like, his dad? How is that even possible? I go, I don't know. He said he was in The Godfather 2, so we rolled it back. And I go, look, look, look. And she goes, I never met. I don't know what he looks like. I go, just look for a dude that looks like Mike. That's so great. Yeah, and it was really, really funny. Oh, man. Wow. I was laughing. It was so funny. So check this out, you guys. Speaking of my dad, this one will blow you guys away. My dad has a goatee now. The world is spinning. The world is spinning. Oh, I have to see that. So first you shave off your mustache, and now Danny grows a goatee. I know it. I shaved off my mustache with my goatee, which I'm growing it back. I'm growing it back. Can you see I'm growing it back? But I just got used to it. You did? Yes. And everybody tells me it makes me look younger, but I'm going to grow it back. I just this morning came in and was like, and I like it. It's grown on me. I don't know. I think I'm going to grow it back. Well, my wife said to me the other day, we were talking about my friend Russ, who does this. And my wife said, do you think Russ thought it was weird that you did? And as soon as she said that in my head, I'm like, oh, my goodness. Russ thinks I'm doing shit. Put it in your back. So you think that Russ thought you copied him? Yeah.
My dad. What's going on? My dad has not had this, he said, since 1973. He always has a beard. Full beard. Full beard mustache. Only way I've ever known him. You guys, he looks so good and so handsome. Oh, he looks great. Can you picture it? He looks so much younger. And he just looks so handsome. I think it looks great. And I told him, I said, Dad, I go, the only thing I think you should do is cut your hair a little bit. His actual hair on his head. I said, cut your hair a little bit. He goes, no, I like it long. And it is. It's long. It's long and kind of bushy, you know. And if he were to cut it short to match his goatee, you guys, he looks so great. Wait till I take a picture of him and show it to you. Esther must be freaking out. Yeah, what made him decide to do that? She didn't want it. She didn't want it.
My dad will go on these whims and all of a sudden he'll just decide it's time to do this or it's time to do that. And so he just had this whim to do it and my mom didn't like it, didn't want it. Didn't want the change and all that stuff. But he looks good. I think it looks great. So I'll take a picture of it for you guys. 570-1053 is our phone number. Okay, let's do this. Quick time out. You realize you're 25, right? This is the best song. Have you heard this song? It's so good. Ashley, did you request it from Rob? Is that why he put it in? Wow, look at her. She's so happy. Sky, you can kind of see why the kids love it so much. Look at Ashley. You can see the excitement in her face. She's not a kid, Mike. I thought she was like 14. I thought she was 14 years old. She's an adult and grown woman. Ash, how do you even know this?
song like don't i thought you had to listen to the radio i thought you had to go to like the uh yeah roller rink in order to hear dude this song is so catchy and so fantastic and it's so great to work out to and it's so like my favorite song right now rob yeah how did this tell me the story behind this making it up to the uh music bed wall uh well she put in a couple requests uh and i okayed the first one but i said you know I can't do that. And then as a treat to her. As a grown-up, I can't do that. But then as a treat, you decided to throw it in for her after all. Well, then I started, you know, making fun of her a little. And I said, you know, if this is really your favorite song, you should at least know the title of it because she didn't know the right title of it. I don't know. It was kind of giving her some stuff. You need to just burn something. What do you think it is? I think now it's Burn It Up. Burnin' Up. It's burning. Very close. But the first request was, like, set it on fire. Something like that. It's like the burn it. The Jonas Brothers. Where do they play this? On 933 or G90? Or where do they play it? Yeah, probably, like, 933. Radio Disney. Radio Disney, probably. And I was really, it was hurting my feelings and we were about to fight for the rest of the morning and then he surprised me. Oh, nice. I'm nice of him. Whatever. Good person. Ridiculous. Oh, I'm looking at the IMs. I can actually see the IMs between... Oh, we've been fighting this entire spot. That's funny. 5701053 is the number. Text us, 35253. Okay, you ready for me to announce this contest we're going to be doing on Wednesday? Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for, on Wednesday, get ready for Joker Contest. With the release of The Dark Knight. And...
And all the talk about Heath Ledger and his portrayal of the Joker, we thought, why don't we do something similar to what we did during the Iron Man movie release. We did an Iron Man lookalike competition where people would come down here dressed as Iron Man. Okay, this time, we want you to do your best interpretation of Heath Ledger's The Joker. Come down here dressed as... Heath Ledger's The Joker. Now, this is what I know. We had some amazing, amazing outfits, man. When we did that Iron Man competition, we had people come down here, and I mean, they really look good, man. P1 Spaceboy won that competition, and his outfit was unreal. It, like, actually worked. Like, his outfit had these jets that came out of the fists, and they actually sprayed stuff. It was great. And so that's kind of what we're looking for for this Joker competition. You got to come down here on Wednesday to the radio station, 9660 Granite Ridge Drive. And we're going to have the same layout. We're going to have a catwalk and the whole thing. And we invite people down here to be able to come and check it out. I'm excited about it because I know these outfits are going to look great.
Now, the person that does the best looking like the Joker is going to win some pretty cool stuff. Eddie, we have a whole bunch of stuff lined up for what we're going to be giving away. One of the things that we're going to give you is a limited edition Xbox 360 Dark Knight edition. It's going to be great. So, yeah, we want you to get ready for this thing Wednesday morning. Come down here. All you have to do is show up. If you want to be involved in this thing, all you have to do is show up dressed as the Joker. At this time? Yeah, at this time, 7 o'clock. Looking like the Joker. And that's it. It'll be pretty awesome. Yeah, this Dark Knight Xbox is awesome. It's sick. It's really cool. you'll be the envy of every nerd in the world. And I'm sure it's going to be a big collector's item too. You can't buy it. You can't just go into a store and buy it. No, no, no, no. Unless the P1 decides to sell it on eBay, then someone will be able to buy it. Yeah, it's up to you. You'll win it. So after you win it, it's yours. And we'll do that again. We will do that on Wednesday. Wow.
So get ready for it. It's going to be pretty awesome. 570-1053 is our phone number. We'll be telling you about that all throughout the morning today and tomorrow. Seth has jelly bellies. This is the worst. Seth has jelly bellies. Jelly beans. Only they're not the regular kind. They're like gross, disgusting. You've heard of these, the gross, disgusting flavors. Let me see. Bring the box over to me, Seth. Have you ever heard of this before, Sean? What, the Jelly Bellies? No, I mean the gross ones. Well, I don't know because I like most of their flavors, so I don't know what you mean by gross. Oh, no. These are not their normal flavors, Sean. They do something pretty special, Shawnee. Oh. They do these sort of limited edition boxes that you can get. Yeah. This is the first edition that they've done, and it says, Caution, contains weird and wild flavors. Dare to compare. Here are some of the flavors of these jelly beans. Skunk spray. Pencil shavings. Toothpaste. Rotten egg. Earwax. Vomit. Booger. Moldy cheese. Baby wipes. And what you do is you take it out of the
You take it out of the box and you look at it. It's like a game, Mike. Should I smell this inside of this box? It just smells like jelly beans. It's a little game you can play when you buy these. You don't know until you put it in your mouth. Well, because what they do is they'll put a normal flavor, like, say, green apple. Yeah, I'm looking and they have berry blue. Yeah, well, booger. looks exactly like green apple. Oh, God it, Skye. I wasn't reading those because I was like, well, what's the point? Yeah, because there's one good one and then one icky one. They look exactly the same and good luck. Okay, so now knowing that, let me re-explain. Skunk spray looks like licorice. Pencil shavings looks like top banana. Rotten egg looks like buttered popcorn. Toothpaste looks like berry blue. Earwax looks like cafe latte. Vomit looks just like peach. Booger looks like juicy pear. Moldy cheese looks like caramel corn. Baby wipes look like coconut. And black pepper looks like plum. So you got a 50% shot. Yeah, you're gambling. Yeah, and Zeth's been playing this game all morning. All right, Zeth, come grab the box. Oh, no. I've actually got some of the nastier ones right here. Okay, you have what could be vomit.
Or it could be peach. It could be vomit. It could be peach. What else do you have? Rotten egg. Or it could be? I think buttered popcorn. Buttered popcorn. And the toothpaste one. Toothpaste could be berry blue. All right. Let's start with the either buttered popcorn or rotten egg. Which is it? Buttered popcorn or rotten egg? Now, this is the way it works. Before you put it in your mouth. Before you put it in your mouth. Here's the way it works. See, with everything that we taste, our smell. is what comes into, that's what works. Because if you plug your nose when you eat something, you can't really taste it. The reason you can't is because your smell is what gives it its deal. So it'll explode in his mouth in sort of a flavor-smell combination. Will it be rotten egg or buttered popcorn? Please, rotten egg. There it goes. He's chewing. Is it rotten egg or buttered popcorn? That's popcorn. There you go. Oh, boo. Boo. Boo. Is it nice? Is that kind of a pleasant thing? It's one of my favorites. Dang it. It's kind of pleasant. Next one he will be trying is either vomit or peach. This is what I'm scared about. Vomit. Vomit. Is it vomit or is it peach? He should know right away. That's vomit. Look at his face. He's turning red. I think I'm going to puke.
Oh, is it really gross? Can he spit it out? No, I'm not spit it out. I'm a champ. Zeth, does it really... Oh, look at him. He just gagged. Oh, he just gagged. What are you drinking to wash it down? Coffee. That's gross. Coffee vomit. I bet. His eyes are watering. That was funny. His eyes are actually filling up with tears. That is rad. I don't understand why they're making them. I guess because it's fun for kids to play a little game with themselves. Oh, my God. How do you figure out... Like, the taste of vomit. Like, what do you... I know. How did the engineers engineer that? That's ridiculous. Okay, what are you going to do next, Seth? It's the last one. Oh, he's still trying to get that out of his teeth and his molars. He's trying to pick that out of the molars. Throw him one. Yeah, just throw me another one. All right, let's see. This one. I can't really tell. This is either going to be baby wipes or coconut. I hate coconut, so I lose either way. Here we go. Oh, that's baby wipes. Oh, gross.
So disgusting, dude. What does that taste like? Have you ever smelled one of those diaper containers? Oh, no way, dude. Like after? So it's the baby wipes after the... Oh, okay. That's hideous. Maybe a more accurate name would have been used baby wipes. How about this one, Zett? This will either be... I believe this is either black pepper or plum, although... It also could be skunk spray or licorice. Yeah, that's either plum or black pepper. Black pepper, black pepper. Plum. Don't go anywhere. When we come back, I'm going to play you the audio of the Star Wars fans getting married at Comic-Con. This should be good. And we're also going to do something called the DCC. This is game day. Rock 105.3. Rock 105.3 Traffic. Brought to you by Sleep Train Mattress Centers. We've got emergency crews right now on the scene and responding as well to an injury crash, an overturned van here in South Bay, South 805, just past Palm Avenue. You should work your way through the Imperial Beach area. So be prepared to see some brake lights in that area. Once again, that's South 805, just past Palm Avenue and Imperial Beach. Other than that, the rest of our freeways are pretty typical. South 15, you've got them back up from the 78th of the Rancho Parkway. And then again, off and on stuff through Rancho Bernardo and Carmel Mountain Ranch into Poway. No worries out of the East County. The westbound 8 looking good. The 94 also free to go. 852 is actually looking good as well at Asante. And coming up out of the South Bay, good looking speeds on both the 5 and the 805 northbound. 805 bunching up just briefly through North Park. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rockwood 053. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. That's crazy. Well done, man. Well, you know what? I'm an informist. The Mikey Show's on. Welcome back. It's the Mikey Show. And...
It is 7-17. The Dark Knight was the number one movie again this weekend and also broke two more box office records. Jimmy Johnson was able to win from the pole at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to win the Brickyard 400. Jimmy talks about his win. Carl put about as much pressure on me as he could. I knew from Chase and Denny the run before that even if the guy's a little faster, he's not going to get by. So I just made sure I hit my marks. I tried not to think about the fact that it was the Brickyard 400. And really just trying to stay focused on the marks. We did it. Still stoked for these guys. There it is. Welcome back to the show. 570-1053 is our phone number. Text us. 35253. Before we went to break, I said that at Comic-Con, a couple of people got married. And, of course, they're Star Wars fans. Nice. Eddie, as much of a Star Wars fan as you are, I don't think you would have done this. I wouldn't have done it, but I would have enjoyed watching it. Really? Absolutely. Cut 42. Oh, wow. Brothers and sisters and outsiders. Jedi, everybody, welcome. We're here today to conduct a contract between two Mandalorians. We made a journey and fought together and bled together.
continue to believe together until their last days. We are one, one together. We are one, one apart. Come on. We will share all. We will raise warriors. One, one together. We're one, one together. We are one, one apart. One, one apart. We will share all. We will share all. We will raise warriors. Ladies, Warriors. And I pronounce you Mandalorian husband and wife. Make just a bride. Eddie, when did they lose you? When did they, when did, because, you know, for a minute you were like, hey, you know, I wouldn't mind going, but then there was a point where you were listening where you just sort of went, okay, all right. Was them doing their vows in Mandalorian just to over the top for you? Yeah, is that where it lost you? Where did you? Listen, I'm a big enough man to admit when I'm wrong. Okay, okay, okay.
When they opened their mouths, I realized I was incorrect. I thought it was going to be something fun and just dressed up like a goofy Star Wars character, but I didn't realize they were going to take it to that geek level. Now I'm embarrassed. Question. Yes. As much as you know about Star Wars, was that too deep? I don't know what they're talking about. You didn't even know? I don't know. One second. Man. So they're into it, man. Like, they're into it. Deep into the universe. Deep into the Star Wars stuff. Wow. It's embarrassing. I'll admit it. It's embarrassing. That's true. Text message says, Mikey, I'm nine weeks pregnant and the jelly belly bean thing set me into a fit of dry heaves. Yes. I can see how. I can see how. It was pretty foul. Oh, no. Sometimes I struggle with those. I'm like, should we do this? Should we not? Right. Is this going to be funny or is this going to be what it actually is? Disgusting. Awesome. I'm never really that sure. We got the Dumb Chick Challenge coming up here in just a second. But first, I wanted to let people know that Ashley went to the races. Only her second time ever going to the races. And her honey taught her how to bet. And she won 50 cents, it says. $6.50.
Oh, $6. You left the six out. Oh, you know, I have to make that thing when you type and instead of it like typing with spaces, it types over what you might already have. Right. So I forgot to put the dollar sign. So then when I put the dollar sign, I must have replaced the six. You won $6.50. Yes. There you go. And this is what I thought was interesting. That night after the races, she goes to a place called Phil's Barbecue for dinner. And she said the line was wrapped around the building. Yeah, Phil's is crazy. Is this a new place or is this a place that's... Oh, no, Phil's been around forever. And there's a line going out the building? So get this, Mike, okay? It was two, their partner is a fantastic couple, Hillcrest. It was in the Hillcrest area. I don't want to say exactly here. It's maybe more like Mission Hill. Hillcrest. But there was a Little Phil's Barbecue, and the smell of the barbecue was so insane and intense that the neighbors complained. And even though they got, like, equipment to put in to, like, make the smell not spread throughout the neighborhood, it still would. And it was this little nook, Phil's Barbecue, and it was always popping off. So they opened a huge one right on Sports Arena Boulevard, and it's humongous.
And the line still is like out the door, around the building, packed every time I go. Did they close the one that the neighbors complained? They had to. Wow. I wonder how that, you know, because when you think about it, obviously you see it from both sides. You're like, well, if I'm a neighbor, I don't know that I want to smell that every single day. And if you're a business, you're like, we're running a business. We're a restaurant. It smells good. Sure, sure. So who knows how they, but I guess the answer was, let's get out of here and go to the sports arena. And it had to have worked out better because the place is like, six tons it's probably like ten times as big and the business is just like constantly popping off what'd you eat well this time I tried something new normally I'll get just like the half chicken dinner which is like off the bone which kind of freaks me out because I'm a partial vegetarian so this time no she's not at all she's not I mean, here's a woman that says she's telling us a story about going to a barbecue place. Yeah, Mike. They didn't barbecue green beans. No, I mean, she eats meat every day. Every day. Almost every meal. Yeah, almost every meal the woman is eating an animal. So how can you be partial? To help with my issue, I got the...
The white, like, I guess they called it the chick list dinner. So I had no bones. So it was chicken and it's in this amazing sauce, Mike. You would freak out. Phil's barbecue. It's the secrets in the sauce. I see. And then I got a side of steamed vegetables. But you can get baked beans, coleslaw, french fries. Their onion rings are, like, to die for. Sports Arena Boulevard, like, right by Sports Arena? It is right, like, literally right off of Midway. And you take that left on Sports Arena Boulevard from the freeway. To the left. Off the freeway. Right, Eddie? Oh, oh, oh. And it's right there. So, like, if you're on the 8 and you're traveling towards the ocean. Right. It's like that, right? Yeah. And you exit the Sports Arena Boulevard exit. You take a left off the exit. Off the exit. You follow Sports Arena. Go to Sports Arena. And then take a left onto Sports Arena? Correct. And then where would it be? Right. Literally, like, right there. Maybe, like, 100 yards down on the left-hand side. And it's big. And it says Phil's Barbecue. And it's big. Mmm. And it's delicious. Probably the biggest barbecue place in San Diego. Best barbecue I've had ever. It's real good, huh? That sounds good. I would check that out. Yeah, you'd like it. Why don't we do this?
You're a nut today, lady. Let's do it. Dump Chick Challenge. Trying to get to five points. You get one, two, and three-point questions. Ones are easy. Threes are hard. Sky wins almost every time. That's true. Almost every time. Almost every time. Not today, though. Ashley's day. What happened to Rob? Rob used to win this game. Here's the deal. He didn't win. Rob is the Red Sox. Sky is the Yankees. So every once in a while, the Red Sox will win, but most of the time... To the Red Sox. I mean, to the Yankees. And Rob loses to Sky. So Sky's got like 26 championships. Rob, is that like a couple? Well, there you go, Rob. Seven. Hey, good luck, Rob. Seven. You're going to need it. Seven. P1 Greg. Seven. Greg, are you there? Who would you like to select to represent you in the Dumb Chick Challenge? Sky. Of course you would.
Good choice. Hang on the line. Next up, P1 Travis. Travis, who would you like? I'm going to take Boston Rock. You don't say. Great choice. Hang on the line. And P1 Nina. I got Ashley. Well, yeah, yeah. Well, I mean, yes, you get Ashley. You mean you choose. Yes, you choose Ashley. You choose Ashley. Of your own volition. You want to. So hang on the line. Thank you. Eddie, who starts? We're going to start this week with somebody very special. To your heart. To my heart. Her name is Skye. Her name is Skye. Lovely young lady. And you know what the good news is? Skye's going to step out of the box today. Well, she's won so many times. She's going to, you know, give the other people. Why is she shaking her head now? I don't know. Why is she shaking her head now? I say no to all of you. Well, see, the deal is that every time she plays, she wins. And she also does this thing where she has a system. She takes a two-pointer, a two-pointer, a one-pointer, and it works for her. But what we want to say to her is, let's get out of the comfort level. Let's do something a little different and still win. Then you'll take even more pride in the win. Yeah, that's right. So, Sky, what would you like? I would like a two-pointer, please. Oh. Stick with the system. Are you ready, Sky? No, I'm really not feeling it, to be honest.
Sky, your two-point question is, mutton comes from what animal? Oh, look at her face. Oh, no. That face. The smile that started it, like, yes, let's do this, stayed the smile, yet her eyes deceived her mouth. Her eyes said no. Her mouth said yes, her eyes said no. Hands in praying position, concentration on the eyes. Okay. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's talk it out, you guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I like this. Talk through it, Scott. I really don't know, but I'm feeling something kind of like sheep or something, but then I'm like, that's cool, isn't it? Or what the heck do they get off a sheep? Eddie just almost laughed hysterically, but was able to somehow. You guys know what I mean. Yes. You know what I mean. Absolutely. You know what I mean. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, but then, and then I'm like, what about a lamb? What the hell? What is a lamb? But then there's this thing, lamb's wool. So maybe wool is from a lamb. She's talking through it. She's talking through it. Maybe you shouldn't talk through it. Mutton is from a... I would stop talking. I would cease from talking. I will say... Baby seal. It's closed. Concentrate. Oh, squint in the eyes. I will say a sheep.
That is correct, Scott. She can't lose. Okay, so talk to me about wool and where wool comes from. Wool comes from a sheep. Why was he laughing at it? Mutton is meat. Is a lamb a sheep? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mutton is the meat. That's what they call it. That's a mitten, not mutton. That's right. And to clarify, a lamb is a sheep. A lamb is a sheep. It's a baby sheep. Delicious with mint. Yes, it is. Mint jelly. Oh, delicious. But either way, I am correct. You are, shockingly. That's right. I like my lamb. Surprise. I like my lamb grilled. Oh, yeah. Lamb chops grilled. Oh, it's delicious. Especially young. That's right. Delicious. Sounds so good. But you're a vegetarian. It's so funny, man. We were talking this weekend. Dang it. This weekend we were hanging out with me and Rebecca and Rebecca's friend Lori and Kimbra and Jackie. We were all having dinner. Kimbra says that she used to grow up tipping over cows. Really? Is she from the Midwest? No, she's from like a real small town in Washington. Like really small. She says they used to tip over cows and stuff, right? And so it's cow tipping. It's called cow tipping. And my wife goes, my wife goes,
That didn't hurt cows, did it? And Kimber goes, not as much as when you slaughtered and butchered them later. That's a good point. Knowing that my wife eats beef and stuff like that. The point was, hmm. Well, yeah, one's for consumption and one is just to be cruel. You're tenderizing the meat. You are not tenderizing it. You're drunk. You're pushing it over and you think it's funny. And that's messed up, Kimber. Doesn't hurt him. Queen of the fillet. It doesn't hurt them, really. That's a lie. It does not hurt them. You think Outback uses magic cows? Come on. That's for consumption, bro. This is just for your own giggles, which is not cool. And it does hurt them. You giggle when you eat. If anybody falls, it hurts. Cow tippers, call us up right now. You know. How about the cow calls in? Because that's really the only person that would be able to testify. Hit us on the moonlight. Get in on it. Ashley, would you like a one, a two, or a three-point question? What do you even want? Today's Ashley's day. Eddie is giving her a sign like, hey, calm down. Eddie's giving her that. I'm okay. Focus here. Calm down. Focus right here. Look in the eyes. He's doing the things in the eyes. Look here in the eyes. Just take it easy. Calm down. Now Ashley's looking back going, but I don't. Do you think I should? She's made her mind up. We got it. We got it. Here we go.
Give me one, please. Watch this. You want a one-pointer? Ashley, your one-point question is, what three colors make up Ireland's flag? Eddie just gave her a look. Like, there you go. Come on. Easiest thing in the world. And you're welcome. Uh-oh. Oh, no. Come on! Think of St. Patrick's Day, man. Oh, man. Ashley's looking at the ceiling and smiling. That's not good. For sure is these, uh... Green, for sure. Put that on the board. Okay, so I will go ahead. Is that part of your answer? Yeah. Put that on the board. Put red on the board. Say again? Red. Okay, put red on the board. Okay. Green and red I have so far. Hey, Eddie. What's that from? Oh, man. Eddie won't look at her. Eddie won't look at her. He's looking away. I mean, he's looking completely. I'll tell you. I know. Eddie's looking away.
He's got a giant smile on his face. He's looking at the ceiling. He says something different than hers, though. How many colors does she have so far? Two. She named two. She'll never get the other four. Frog. Why did you grin after you said that? You were messing with it. Ashley's smiling. She's saying whatever. Why don't I just go for it? Eddie and I are over it. I don't know if Eddie's over it. He's maybe over you. Go ahead. I will say yellow, red, and black. Whoa, you're changing. Wait, what? You said for sure green. Are you changing the green and red? Okay, so give me your final. Give me your final. What's your final? My final is green, yellow, and black. Green, yellow, and black. Jamaica. Incorrect. It's incorrect. Yes, welcome to Jamaica. Oh, boy. Well, that's in Ireland. Ashley, the three colors of Ireland's flag are green, white, and orange. Ashley goes, yeah, that's right. She's got that look like that's right. I forgot. There it is. There it is. We're going to have to count that against you, though, Ash. Boston Rom. Can I get a two? You want a two-pointer. That's a tie. He wants to tie here with Sky.
He usually starts out with a three. He goes strong. He's not going to do it this time. Rob, your two-point question is, what was the location, the actual location? Where was Lincoln shot? I don't mean on his body. I mean, where was he? Ford Theater? That is correct, Rob. He was shot at the Ford Theater. French Ford Coca-Cola Theater. The Ford Focus Theater. I think that's where they have American Idol, Mike. Yeah. Right? Sky, what are you going to do? Here we go. Go for the win, kiddo. You can take a three-pointer and win the game. Because Rizzy is on the board. Yeah. Yeah. So if he gets a history. He's going to go for the win. If he gets a history three-pointer, I'm jacked. Yeah. But I don't like this. I don't like the pressure. I don't like being rattled. I don't have much faith in Rob. So saying all of that, I would like a two-pointer, please.
How old do you have to be to run for president of the United States of America? Oh, no. She just turned. I know this. I freaking know this. She put her hands up in the air and, like, flooded the eyes. It's like she got sprayed in the face with mace. Yes, like, whoa. What happened? She's doing the whoa. Pepper spray. Wow. Whoa. Hands up to the forehead. Like, what do I do now? This is a dilemma you're seeing on her face. It's a dilemma. She knows it. Ashley thinks she knows it. I am me too, Ash. I gotta know what you're thinking. I am me what you're thinking. It's a freaking dress and leggings. She's correct. She knows. She knows. She just heard this at the horse races, I believe. And they're off. And you have to be this old. I mean, part of me wants to think that you have to be old because, I mean, look at, like, John McCain, right? He's not old. He's ancient. That is a great point. He's a mummy. He is a mummy. But then I'd say, hey, this is America, brah, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, as long as you can vote, you should be able to run. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know? Like Doogie Howser could run. He's smart. He's a young guy. Yeah.
So I'm going to say 18. Oh, that's too young, Sky. Well, this is America. Remember the whole land of the free, home of the brave. You ever seen an 18-year-old run for president? Well, they should. They should. They just don't got the capital out of you. Must be what it is. That is right. Sky, they have to be, you have to be. 35 years of age to run. I don't know. They want you to be a little bit older to run our country. They think at 35 years of age you've experienced life a little bit. Eddie could run for president. Who are they to say? They're America. They're the worst. Really? Americans? Ashley, I want to point something out to you. That was it. two-point question you knew right there. And so here you are going for those one-pointers when, in fact, you know two-points questions. You know them. You can get them. You can answer them. But it's just like my chances of getting two back-to-back two-pointers is so slim. Kid, I've seen you pull three-pointers out of your hat. That's right. You can do this. Okay, give me two. Yay! What are you...
call the disease that's marked by uncontrollable sleepiness and attacks of brief sleep even while standing or moving? I think she knows this. She's got a little bit of a smile. She's looking out the window of the radio station to the outside of the parking lot. I don't know. She just took her headphones off. Just took the headphones off. Looking at the ceiling, leaning back in her chair. Oh, she's doing the bangs. She's doing the bangs. She's adjusting the bangs and the entire... Oh, she's looking in the mirror. Why is she not thinking of the question? Ash. Okay, I'm just talking about sleep apnea, vertigo. I love this game. Starts with an H. Let me look it up on the internet, Mike. Hold on. She really threw me off. Sleeper cell, mate. This is so easy, and I know it. See, it's like, I think I get nervous when it comes to it. Yeah, you do. I think you're totally nervous. So I'm just going to say sleep. It's hard to... You know what? Like, go with your gut. Just, like, what pops into your head instead of just... AIDS! Maybe don't go with your gut. Maybe don't go with the first thing that pops into your head. I know it, and it sucks because I don't remember, and then it makes me look dumb. Yeah. That sucks.
That's kind of like life. Let's say halitosis. Halitosis. Nope. Sky, your thoughts, please. Halitosis. That is my friend. I already know it. Ash, it's narcolepsy. Yeah. Mike, will you accept that now? Narcolepsy. Oh, wow. This is the thing, because I watch a lot of Jeopardy and I get a lot of the questions right. You do? I think that it's all about, like, if I heard it first, then I would, if I heard the word first, then I would know what it is. You could say, this is what that is. Like, I could say, what is halitosis? Uh-oh, she's giving me, she's silently giving me, like, I don't know that. Oh, no. Really bad example. Halitosis, bad breath. Narcolepsy, falling asleep.
There we go. That's it. For the listeners that didn't know. Boston Rob. Boston Rob. Can I have another two-pointer? Yep. You got the right one. This guy is so irritated that he's using her. He's using her system. How dare he do that? You are the best, Rob. Yeah. I will let you know that I do not know. This doesn't happen often. Where I don't know. Don't know this one. Rob. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Are the first words of what 1859 novel? You really didn't know that one? Did not know that. I don't think I know it either. I'm ashamed. You're not very smart as well. That's true, but I don't know it. Rob, it was the best of times. It was the worst of times. These are the first words of what 1859 novel? 1859 novel. You sure it's not 1959, Mike? Is that a cause?
I don't know. I'm going to guess Gone with the Wind. I have no idea. Incorrect. Incorrect, Rob. Wasn't it the best of times and worst of times? No, it was, actually. The Matrix, Mike? Yeah. Rob, it's the tale of two cities. Now I know two. Ashley, you're the most darling thing I've ever seen in my life. Look at her in there. She's got this. The bangs are perfect, though. I'll tell you that. Spot on. All right, Sky. What are you going to do here? What are you going to do? What? I was expecting Rob to get that right. Don't risk it. And then I was going to take a three-pointer. Yeah. Oh, man. But he got it wrong. So do you go back to your system? Do you want to be in that position again? Kind of. Can I help? Can I talk you through it? Go ahead, Jeff. Please, I'd love to hear some advice. Okay, so you go for a three because if you get a two, Rob's going for a three either way, right? This guy, think about that. But he's not very smart. Right, so he's either going to win or he's going to lose either way. I know. He is quite dumb. So if you think about it that way. He's like a cadaver. You can win now or you're going to go again. I don't know what Seth is saying. Cadaver gets one right. That's true. Rob's either going to win or lose on his next one. Okay. Regardless of what you do. Okay. So either you're going to lose or you're going to get another chance. So you might as well risk it with a three. It's pretty good. It's pretty good logic, actually. I tuned out about five minutes ago. Just go for a three. What are you going to do, Sky? Yes, you jerk. Hey.
What are you going to do? Skye? Well, I guess my face coach Seth says I'm going for a three. Yes, straight you are. Bad move, Skye. Uh-oh. Looking at the question. Bad move. Why would you do that, Seth? There we go. Skye, you might get this. Because he's rooting for me. Skye, you might get this. Skye? Yeah. In his early years. Oh, no. Whatever it is. She gives up. Unless it's about Dave Matthews, I'm screwed. Skye? Yes. In his early years. Uh-huh. What? What prolific author wrote under the pseudonym Richard Bachman? Oh, man. That was a dirty word. I mean Richard Bachman, by the way. You mean Bauman? Yeah, Richard Bauman. The name's Mark. That is one classy author.
Author drives a luxury car, right? That's right. Author drives a luxury car from Germany. Yeah, dude. Okay. Steve Woods. That's right. I wish I had a time frame to place this in. But we have a time frame. Can I give her a time frame? Absolutely not. No, it's a three-pointer. It's for the game. I have thoughts ranging from John Steinbeck to Stephen King. John Grisham, anybody? Eddie's laughing at all of these suggestions. Eddie is laughing at all of these suggestions. Never thought Dr. Seuss. You've really gotten into it. Read the question one more time. There may be a clue in there. In his early years, What prolific author wrote under the pseudonym Richard Bachman? Stephen King. That's correct, Sky. Sky, you got it. He just won the challenge at this point really only consists of two dumb chicks and it's Ashley and Rob because Sky has now won this thing. Wow. Consecutively 90 times in a row. 90 times in a row. Let's see. P1 Greg, are you there? Yes, I'm there. Eddie, what did Greg win? He won.
The Dark Knight movie passes for the run of engagements. Hang on the line, brother. This guy, good work. Thank you. And we... I should be thinking about this. This was kind of funny. You ever laugh so hard that you're embarrassed? You ever laugh so hard you could not, like, regain control? Like I'm talking about. To the point where you would kind of get it under control. And then a couple, like, moments later, you would... It would pop in your... And then... Boom, you're off to the races again. And then it becomes, now you can't stop. Now it's a thing. And it won't. You ever laugh like that? And your face gets contorted. Yes. Now I'm talking, did this happen from a movie that you saw? Did it happen from something happened in front of you and you couldn't stop? Text us 35253 or call us 5701053 before we get to that. On the inside line, ladies and gentlemen, starting quarterback for the San Diego Chargers. Oh, really? Phillip Rivers is on the line. I'm sorry. Phillip, how are you this morning? Hey, I'm doing good. How are y'all? It's good, man. It's good to talk to you. How have you been? I've been very well. Obviously, coming off an injury this year and surgery the last season.
It is feeling great, and the guys and myself are excited to be back out there gearing up for what hopes to be a great year. This was your ankle. Is this your ankle or your knee? Knee. Knee. Ankle's good, right? Oh, yeah, the ankle's fine. Nothing wrong with the ankle. No. But the knee, what did they do, and how long ago was it, and how are you feeling? Yeah, it was like late January, just reconstruction of ACL, and it went well. So now I'm, what, six months out, I guess, something like that. It feels good. It feels really good. You know, I really don't have any problems with it out there. Just got to keep getting it stronger, keep getting my leg, make sure my leg is strong, and I should be up and ready to roll by week one. If I remember correctly, you played. with that ankle hurting. It was the AFC Championship game. You played against the Patriots with it like that. How did that feel? What was that like? Yeah, it wasn't ankle, though. No, no, no. That was the knee. I'm sorry if I said ankle. I'm fixated, apparently, on your ankle. He loves your ankles. I really love your ankle. Very nice. The knee. The knee.
No, it was crazy. I mean, it was. I'll tell you what, it wasn't so much pain. It was just discomfort and instability. You know, I just felt like it wasn't there, you know, so you're kind of wobbly. But we had a lot of guys play hurt in that game and injury. I mean, Gates and Hardwick, and I mean, the list goes on and on of guys that were in a lot of pain in that game trying to help us win. But we all had all seasons where we've been recovering from injuries, and a lot of us are back healthy. A lot of those guys are... They're battling to get back healthy. Three days into camp, it's going well so far. I'm sorry I sound like such a goofball starting this interview out, Phillip. I don't know where my brain was thinking that it was still this ankle thing. I think my brain is still trying to adjust to getting back in the studio. But let me ask you, when you go into training camp like this, when we're starting up training camp, Do you dread this time coming up with the two-a-days, or is there a part of you that's a little kid that just can't wait to get out on the grass, smell the grass, get out there and do the whole thing? Yeah, you know, it's where it's funny you ask that because it's a little bit of both. I mean, you obviously, I get excited because you just go, man, I'm ready to get back there. You know, you hadn't seen a lot of the guys in, you know, three or four weeks we've been off in July.
It's kind of new again. You're seeing your teammates roll back in here. And then when practice starts, two days, they get long, they get tiring. We don't get out of meeting tonight until like 10 o'clock. But you know that means the season's around the corner, which is what we all love to do is play in games. And at the same time, though, the training camp part is tough. I mean, you're sleeping away from home. You know, it's long. So it's a little bit of both. But for me, it's more positive than anything, especially the way last year ended, and I just love to play. When you know training camp's here, it's about time to get ready to go again. Philip, when you first come into the league when you're a rookie and you're playing your first time as a Charger and you're out there, your eyes have got to be as big as saucers because you're like, holy cow, this is the big time. And you're trying to adjust to this whole new system, the San Diego Charger system, where it's a professional system. You're not in college anymore. You're doing the pro thing. Now, after doing it for as long as you have, are you at a comfort level where it's sort of second nature? Are you there? Do you feel that you're there and you've been there for a while? Are you just getting there? Where are you with it? Yeah, it's definitely the game, as they say, is slowed down. It slows down for you. You start seeing things and you feel like it's happening slower just because the more repetitions you've had, the more reps, the more experience you've had.
It is. I think it continues to get more and more that way the more games you play. This is only my third season as a starter, so I've played, I don't know, right around 30 games or so. Right. A little more than that, so I think it will continue to slow down for me. But, no, it's amazing the difference going into year five and going into year one. Both the confidence, the understanding, and then the pace and the speed of which your eyes are seeing it. It's happening the same as it did five years ago, but to your eyes, it seems like it's all slowed down for you. So it's certainly a neat transition, and to go through it, it's definitely an experience. We're talking to Phillip Rivers, and Phillip, you know, you guys are one of the favorites going into the season. So as you're going into it, does that hurt you, or does that help you? No, you know, I think, you know, last year we were considered one of the favorites, and I think we...
I don't know if we fell into the hype, but we fell into it a little bit. I thought I was a little trapped. We got so much talking about the Super Bowl that we forgot to take care of the first part of the season. So I think this year we're just more – we have an understanding. We all know what the ultimate goal is. It's the ultimate goal of all 32 teams. We don't even talk about it so much. I think it's now let's just go. Let's get better every day, and let's worry about Carolina, and then let's worry about Denver, and then let's worry about – Just go one week by one week because it's a long marathon. You've got 16 regular season games. You've got four preseason. You hope you're playing deep in the playoffs. That's 20-something games. We can't be looking to game 20 when we haven't took care of game one yet. Eddie, you've got a question for Phillip Rivers? Yeah, Phillip. Last year you got some criticism for your demeanor on the field. pretty fired up at times, and some people didn't like it. Are you planning on toning that down this year, or are you just going to play football the way you know how to play football? Yeah, just play the way I know how to play again. I mean, you know, I'll probably leave the fans alone this year maybe. Yeah. Not going to win that battle, in the media especially. But, no, I'm just going to play and have fun. That's the way we played as kids in the backyard, you know, with my brother, with my buddies.
It's all in fun. It's all in fun out there, that's for sure. Not trying to create any enemies, just having a good time. We can't do that. We've got to act like robots out there to play. That's crazy when you think about it. We are out there playing the game. I'm going to continue just to have fun and play as long as I certainly don't want to become a distraction to our team. You know, Phillip, I may have been one of the only guys in terms of media guys. I think Eddie agreed with me too. That stuff that you were just talking about with the fans, I always felt like I got it. I never saw you saying anything that was malicious or dirty. And I always thought, whenever I would see it, I always thought, that's kind of a fired-up kid, you know? That's a fired-up guy. I never thought of it as, like, jerky, you know? Right, and that's the whole thing. You know, I'm not using any profanity or saying anything like you said. It's all in fun. Like you said, you see it, and we don't really even know each other. But, you know, I know for sure my teammates and people that know me know how it is, know where it's coming from, and knows it's in fun and it's part of the game. I mean, those guys behind you on the bench that are hollering at you for four quarters, you feel like you know them by the end of the game. Sure.
By the end of the game, you feel like you go out there and say, hey, bud, that was crazy three hours. Nice to meet you, you know? I mean, they're hollering at you every play, every whatever. So, you know, it's all part of it. It really is. To be honest with you, I was shocked at what attention and surprise at how much. I kind of was, too. The negative perception that it brought, I mean, you know, it certainly, I mean, it was something different for me to go through. You know, but my approach on it is certainly you don't want to have a negative perception. But then again, you can't worry about it. I mean, everybody's going to have their opinion about things. And again, if I know the people that know me, know who I am and where I'm coming from, I can't worry about every little thing. Yeah, and personally, I didn't think it was hard to figure out. You know, like you said, I don't really know you. And you can never know somebody's heart. But I definitely know this. I know when you see that stuff sometimes. You see it and you know that it isn't from a good place by either hand gestures somebody's making or you can read their lips, and I never saw that from you. I never saw you doing that kind of thing. I always just took it as you having a good time. I want to let people know that they go see Phillip and the team practice today at 4 o'clock. Training camp is open to the public, and so you can go out there and you can see them doing their thing. How are your kids, man? Oh, they're great. Everybody is...
is doing great. So, yeah, again, you mentioned drinking. That's one of the toughest parts, you know, is being away from the kids and the family a lot. How old are they now, Phillip? They don't quite get it. They don't quite get where dad went. They're 6'3", 2", and 6 months. Oh, wow. And that's full. Yeah. Three girls and a little boy. So they are doing great, though. There you go. Wife is doing great, and she is... She's got her hands full, but loving every minute of it. That's cool. You had the opportunity to go back home and have sweet tea. Last time I saw you in the studio, you said that was your deal. Yeah, we were back in Alabama for probably three or four weeks in June and July. Oh, yeah, sweet tea and the barbecue and the whole deal. And chasing and running from mosquitoes. I got a text from our center, Corey Withrow, one day. It said, the state bird in Alabama is the mosquito. That seems funny, man. That's funny. We were laughing because there were a ton of mosquitoes down there. It's one thing that's nice here. You get here and you lose the humidity and the bugs everywhere. There you go. Phillip, come see us in the studio sometime. We'd love to see you back in here. It's always a pleasure to talk to you. Okay. Enjoyed it. All right, man. We'll see you later. That's Phillip Rivers.
Appreciate it. It'd be fun to go out there and watch them. When it's open to the public like that, it always is a good idea to go out there and see it. Especially if you have kids, man. Take your little kid out there. They won't ever be closer to an NFL player. Ever. They're right there. It's just a really cool thing. I'll sign your autograph. Whatever you want after the practice is over. It's an experience, man. You've got to go check it out. We've got to take a quick Quick time out. It will be very brief. When we come back, we'll tell you why Shia LaBeouf was arrested. And I'm going to tell you this. This was not, I was hanging out at Walgreens. This was, this is a little bit more serious. Let me read some of these text messages that we are getting on this topic of laughing so hard that you just, like, you can't, it won't even stop. Mine was Pulp Fiction. And it was the scene where Christopher Walken was explaining the watch. Yeah. And where the watch came from. What a great place to laugh. Well, let me tell you something. When he says the punchline and where the watch was. And if you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about. Sky, do you remember this scene? It's a pretty wonderful story.
A wonderful story. Where he is giving... It's Christopher Walken is in a U.S. Army military outfit. And he's sitting in the living room with this little boy. And he's a stranger to the little boy. And he's giving the little boy a watch. Now, it's not a watch on a wristband. It's just the watch part. And he's explaining to the little boy who he is and where this watch comes from. And he explains that his father, little boy's father, and he were friends back in Vietnam. They flew missions together. And that his father was a really, really brave and courageous man who actually received this very watch from his grandfather. And his grandfather knew that it was his family right to have this watch to be handed down. And that hopefully one day this little boy would hand it down to his son. And then he knew that. And that when he got that...
He remembered that his very grandfather carried that watch in a little coffee can to protect it. And he had done everything that he possibly could to keep this watch intact for this little boy. But he was captured. He was captured by the Japanese. And he was taken into custody where he was, in fact, a prisoner of war. And so he didn't want for the Japanese to get their hands on this watch. So he had to carry the watch the only place that he knew where, which was his behind. Now in the movie, he says it a little bit differently. But when he says it, I burst out laughing. And I just could not. Because I didn't see that coming. I just didn't see that coming. And the final.
moment in that scene is he hands the little watch to the little boy and he says, now the watch belongs to you. And it was one of those deals where that scene had been off the screen for 30 minutes. I still couldn't stop. I would think about what he said and it was so embarrassing. It was so embarrassing. Eddie, have you had one of those? Movie-wise, it was Anchorman. I laughed so hard at Anchorman that I was embarrassed because people were like, dude, it's funny, but come on. But in our live, the one thing that I can remember of laughing hysterically to the point of where I couldn't control it was the very, very first 28-hour show in San Jose at the end of the show. when a specific caller called at the very end. I mean, we're on the last hour of the 28-hour show. First time we ever did it. And this caller called, and I don't even remember what the name was they used. They used some name that we thought was probably the funniest name in the history of names. And we laughed for...
The last 20 minutes of the show, just about that person's name. You're all punchy. It was so ridiculous. And we were even saying through our laughter, we need to stop laughing. We need to move on. We couldn't. We couldn't control it. We couldn't control ourselves. It was so funny to me. And I was like, tears were pouring out. I can't remember. It was something goofy. It was nothing funny. It was like P1Ping. Yeah, it was like, and we just thought that was the funniest word ever. It was like something stupid. We were delirious. Listen to this email. Mikey, sometimes I go into a laughing frenzy where I will start crying. Not your normal wipe the one or two tears away because you're laughing so hard. Oh, no. I'll go from a contagious laugh to a full on cry with a frowning face. Oh, weird. That's so strange. My husband knows when it's going to happen and he loves and hates it. He hates it because it creeps him out, but he thinks it's hilarious. I can understand that. I try not to do it in public, but sometimes there's nothing you can do. Love you guys, P1 Nightmare. That's crazy! 5701053 is the phone number. The text number is 35253. Mikey, so I'm watching a movie at the theater and my boyfriend leans over and lets me know something so funny I start laughing so hard I had to snort. Oh no, that's the worst. Unfortunately, it was a tearjerker and at this moment in the movie...
Everybody put down their tissue and started laughing at me. So my boyfriend decides to stand up, start laughing and pointing. Oh, wow. So that everybody knows who they were laughing at. My wife and I, we were getting our house. We were in the model home and we had decided that we wanted to get our house and we were like, you know, putting down the down payment and all that stuff. And the woman that was helping us got up and she was going to go get something. And the fax machine was sitting on her desk. And the phone line ran from the fax machine underneath the desk and plugged into the wall. And the wire was exposed. And as she got up to go very hurriedly, going to the other room, she tripped over the cord. And when I say she tripped, I don't mean like a stumble. I mean like...
On the ground, splayed out, like splayed out, like arms out, not graceful. It was not graceful. It was not the type of fall that she was able to somehow, you know, pull it off, recover. And I remember I literally, I went, oh, no. And at the very beginning, like at the very beginning of this moment. Rebecca was very concerned. And then it dawned on her sort of the slapstickness of it. And she like gave out a little laugh, which was very uncomfortable, which was very uncomfortable. And the woman whose name was Sally, Sally got up and and then Rebecca, Rebecca, you guys know her. She's so serious, you know.
And so she, in a very serious way, is going, oh my goodness, you know, are you okay? And it would snap. It would slip. And then the woman left the room, and when she left, Rebecca just lost it in laughter. I mean, and then the woman comes back in, and she can't get it under control. Rebecca can't get it under control. And it's just... uncontrollable, inappropriate, like just completely inappropriate laughter. And I finally look at her and I very like overdone. But to be comical, go, oh, honey, that is just terrible. That's just terrible that you would laugh at her in that way. P1 Steven is on the line. Steven, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Go ahead, Steven. What was your moment? We were up at Greenfield Cemetery. I think that's what it's called. And we were at my grandma's funeral, unfortunately. I was about seven. And me, my mom, and my sister were sitting in the back row. And what happened is we fell back and the bench broke. Oh, no. In the middle of the wedding. Or the middle of the funeral. The middle of the funeral. Oh, no. Yeah. And we got out.
Everybody was giving us the dirtiest look, and we were still laughing throughout the whole funeral, pretty much. Oh, no. Can you imagine? It felt really bad. And you couldn't stop, right? It was uncontrollable, yeah. Sometimes that laughter becomes, there's nothing you can do. You can't control it. Seth said he had one where Eddie told him a story about Blunder. Yeah. We were in the office. It was after the show one day, and you told me the Blunder tough man story and the after effect and him trying to get out of something because he knew he had to get out of jail free. It was when we lived in Dallas, and Boy Blunder was still on the show, and we did this event, a tough man event, where Boy Blunder was going to get in the ring, and as an exhibition, he was going to fight this guy. Well, here was the thing. We figured this was going to be like a... Couple of fat guys fighting each other. Which was funny. Well, the guy that they put him in there was an animal. He was... They brought in like a legit dude who was cut. And burly. Now, this is where I knew something was wrong. Because I was wasted. But I knew something was wrong when I saw Eddie giving him legitimate...
fighting advice. I thought he was going to die, which he almost did. Well, you know what was weird about that moment? In my head, I thought, this is not computing. Why is Eddie giving him legitimate fight advice for what is supposed to be a gag? This is an exhibition. I knew it was going to be bad. You've got to remember, Blunder's a big... Double R. He knows it. Big. He has mirrors. And so he gets into the ring with this burly guy. And this burly guy, he looks like kind of Mexican with a short haircut and he's tan and buff. He just got out of the joint. Ripped. Blunder gets in there. He looks like he's been kept in a closet for eight years. His skin is almost translucent. White and big. He's so fair-complected. The hair on his back is red. He's just a big guy. They get in there and this guy starts punching him. They got on boxing gloves. As he hits the stomach, you hear... It sounded so... Before it...
Before the bell rings, I'm drunk and laughing and having a good time. And the bell rings and this guy goes and slugs. One of the worst. He slugs Blunder, okay? And the first hit, I'm like, my face goes like, you know, my jaw drops open. I stop laughing. I'm like, oh my goodness, this guy's like hitting Boy Blunder. And Boy Blunder is trying to like defend himself. And you just hear these dank, heavy, like... Like this guy's just pout. And then finally the bell rings. He comes into the corner and Eddie's giving him advice. And I'm like, oh my goodness, this is really happening. This is not a gag. This isn't an exhibition. And Blunder's getting beat up. Bell rings to the second round. Blunder like kind of out there to the middle of the ring. And this guy, this guy hits Blunder with an uppercut. So hard.
So hard. Blunder. And this is not an exaggeration. Eddie was there. He'll tell you this is the truth. Blunder came off his feet. Oh, my goodness. And he hit the ring. He's a 300-pound man. He hits the ring. And the ring flutters. The ring goes, you know, when he hits it. And we're like, holy cow. I literally thought we killed Boyd Blunder at that moment. And I was so mad that they put this guy in there with Boy Blunder. Eddie was flipping out. I jumped in the ring and I started a riot. I'm not kidding. A real riot. It was almost a real riot. Yeah, it was like a melee. Because I was screaming at the tough man guy. Yeah, it was at a full on arena. And all you hear while Eddie's up there yelling and screaming. And there's Blunder like laying there passed out. All of this is going on. I'm wasted in between laughter and angry too. And you just keep hearing the bell. Ding, ding, ding. They keep trying to ring the bell to get order in the court. You just start hearing ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. And you hear the guy on the thing and he's like, all right, we need to get order. We need to get order. The whole ring filled up with people. They're holding me back. It was insane. Geraldo was there and a chair hits him in the nose. One of the...
craziest things ever. Dude. Like, my eyes are watering right now. It's like hearing it again. Just telling the story back. Oh, you can laugh now. T1 Quimby is on the line. I'm about to start laughing uncontrollably. Oh, no. Okay, so you know how we do that P1 podcast every couple weeks? Yeah, it's like your homage to the Mikey Show. You guys do your own version of the Mikey Show. Yeah, it's like a supplement. You know, we kind of keep everybody caught up. She's already laughing just thinking about it. Oh, no. So, like, we record, like, parody songs and intro songs. Right. Or bits we do. And one of them. We were doing a song, kind of making fun of Danny because he hates the movie Cloverfield. Right. And he has a soundproof booth, and we're in there, and I'm just making up, like, the most ridiculous, horrible jokes and just laughing hysterically and the look on Spaceboy's face every time I do this. Like, he has recorded my laughter and now using it.
As a sound drop, because I will make horrible, horrible, terrible jokes that nobody should ever hear. Listen to that laugh. Oh, my God. Listen to that laugh. It's so funny. I can't stop it. It happens all the time. My boyfriend's embarrassed in movie theaters and everywhere you go, I can't stop. Like, once you get me going. I'm having a hard time understanding, though, what happened. I made a joke. Oh, man. I made a joke about, like, I hate to say this, about donkey shows. Wow. See, yeah, Quimby makes horrible, inappropriate jokes. Does she? And it makes her laugh so much. Yes. On her own jokes. Yeah. That she cannot stop laughing. So that's what happened. Yes. Yes. Basically, since there was a lot of time, like, I would never say anything like this. And I'm just laughing, you know, just making these.
Very inappropriate jokes. Listen to that. Quimby, do you smoke or what? Thank you. I smoke and I cough and I might wet myself a little. That's Quimby, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you. This next one is pretty funny and reminds me of something that made me laugh pretty hard. Mikey, the funniest time for me was when my sister... And I were driving together in the car with all the windows up. And my sister passed gas. And my one-year-old nephew in the backseat began to gag. This is so funny to me. I don't know why that makes me laugh so much. But that makes me laugh. It reminds me. One time, this is when I was in high school. My mom had a friend. come over to the house and the friend brought their kid who had just been potty trained. And so they had to go potty, okay? So they go into the bathroom and they're having the kid go potty. And all of a sudden from the bathroom, I start hearing the child gagging. And I say to my mom, what's going on? My mom says, I don't know. And so when the mother and the child come out, I said, what was that? What was going on in there? And she says,
Oh, we're trying to work through this right now, but whenever she goes to the bathroom, she gags at herself. When she told the story, I started laughing. And it was another one where I just couldn't gain control. And you come across looking rude. Because you're like, listen, I don't think your kid's that funny, but man, I can't stop laughing at what your kid does. P1 Victor? Victor, are you there? Yeah. Oh, I just... Sorry about that. P1 I Love Sean is on the line. Who doesn't? P1 I Love Sean. What can we do for you? My phony moment was... Remember that bit that you did with Ramsey at the Nextel? It was a long...
Oh, I was going to say that too. Flababloosh. Flababloosh. I could not stop laughing at that, man. That was some pretty good stuff. That's maybe the hardest I've ever laughed on the show. Was during the flababloosh? Yeah, during that next hell bit. I was going to actually bring that up if you came to me. You should find it, Ash. I have it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You should find it. It was on our Best of CD. I believe I put it in a montage. Like, it was so good. Find it and put it up. We'll take a quick time out. And then when we come back. Let's play that. Pop because those times you've started laughing and you couldn't stop. 5701053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. We'll be back. Give you more of these. Six days a week. We're talking about times that you started laughing so hard you couldn't even stop. Like you just could not stop, man. Became contagious. There's a story. Kind of inappropriate too. Very inappropriate. My brother told us a story about the guy that came, you know, during the summer in Tucson. Australian guy, hairy legs, cut off jeans. Best story ever. Not tell this story right now. Tell it. Wait, what? He broke wind, but he lost his bowels when he did. Tell the whole story. Just do his reaction.
It's my favorite. Wasn't it a bad, you can't say it. Yeah, he goes, oh my gosh! It scared him. It scared him. It really scared the guy. Last night was the season premiere of Tim and Eric. Awesome show, great job. Speaking of funny, do you have a clip, Sean? Yeah. Let's hear it. This is everyone's favorite Dr. Steve Bruhl. Yes. Helping out with an infomercial. All right. Hi, Kathy Mitchell here in the kitchen with a brand new exciting product called the Griddleman. And I have a friend to help me introduce it to you from Channel 5 News, Dr. Steve Bruhl. Have you ever bought a panini at a restaurant? Panini's a sandwich.
Why don't you call it panini? Well, panini is Italian, I think. It means grilled in Italian. What's Italian? That's a country in Europe. Looks like a boot, kind of shaved out. Like a cowboy boot. Kind of. Let's make your sandwich. You want to hand me one of those spatulas over there? The purple one. Just draw yellow. Purple spatula. Here, I'll get it. No, that one. Okay, that one. Yeah, okay. How about some meat? You like turkey? Well, you call them tricky. Whatever you like. Your own little touches. You like pickles or... Yeah. Okay, very good. Let's put some pickles. All right. Those are olives. You like olives? Okay. Okay. We need to put a little of this grease on it now. What type of animal does the grease come from? Well, this is horse. Sounds expensive. Go ahead and brush it right on there. Do you like sandwiches? Have you had a panini before? A cowboy boot. Oh, no. Okay, and we're going to close the lid. That sandwich is going to be ready in about five seconds. Look at that. Doesn't that look amazing? Kathy, I can't wait. I have to take a bite of this panini. All right, well, be real careful because it's hot. I think I burned my tongue. Oh, maybe just a little bit at the edges. Excuse me. Smells like a horse.
That's funny, man. Oh, that's genius. P1 Night Train, are you there? Oh, my stomach hurts. Hold on, horse. Are you there, Night Train? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm here. I actually think that clip might take over for the funniest story I've ever heard. It might. What was your deal? Yeah, the wedding. What happened? All right, so a lady doing one of the readings. It was a Catholic wedding. She gets done with the reading. She starts walking down off of the altar, and you know how there's like three steps? Well, she rolled her heel and completely fell off of the altar. Oh, my. I'm a groomsman in this wedding, right? And there's like six plus one of them.
being that lady's husband. And he just goes, he just goes, oh my God, baby. And she falls. And he kind of like starts to stand up, but then he realizes he's this groomsman. And so he sits back down and then all six of us are just sitting there just laughing through the rest of the ceremony, right? I mean, I'm biting my cheek. I'm, you know, I'm like, I'm pinching myself. Well, all of a sudden, like the fourth or fifth groomsman, In the line, he lets one go, right? Because he's laughing so hard. Oh, wow. That's unfair. Oh, right. Then what are you supposed to do? He farts in the middle of the second reading, right? And it was so loud that the woman in the second reading laughed halfway through it. It's a lady's special day, Skye. Yeah. Can you imagine? It's a bride's special day.
We're in this beautiful Catholic church and, I mean, for about 15 minutes of the ceremony, we're just sitting there hysterically laughing. Can you imagine that? They caught it all on film and everything. That's fantastic. I enjoy that every year. That's fantastic. And the noise that this lady let out, it was just like, you know, she's very small, petite, you know, beautiful, blonde, and she falls off of these stairs and she just goes like... Dude, send us the video if you can. Right? Love to see the video. YouTube. You guys want to hear the moment with... Man, I don't know if I could play this whole... It's pretty long, but it's pretty funny. It's kind of worth it. Yeah, you kind of got to hear the whole thing in order to get the joke. Well, you know that Skye has a white manservant. She used to have a black manservant. Right, so don't get confused. I don't have any manservants, actually. And so this moment happened a few years ago.
And it was Skye and her manservant, Ramsey. And they were just having a discussion. And here's what happened. Mikey Show. Hey, at 836, actually, Skye said, I love you, Ramsey. If you wanted to get it, there's probably a really clean cut that you could pull out. Sir, we don't need this from you, sir. I love you, Ramsey. No, did you hear that? I guess Skye said it really cleanly. All right. We've got to find that, Ashley. I love you, Ramsey. See if you can find it, though, Ashley. Yeah, I will. It's driving her nuts. Skye hears it. You guys are so juvenile. All she hears through the hallway, right, Skye? I can't handle it. It's ridiculous, isn't it? I love you, Ramsey. He's juvenile because he doesn't even exist. He's not a real person. Yeah, he's your black man servant. What do you mean he doesn't exist? No, he's not. I love you, Ramsey. Ashley. I love you, Ramsey. The sound effect. Well, I can see you and I can hear you. Ramsey, did you do what I told you and go get your golf clothing for tomorrow? Oh, miss, I can't afford no clothes. Lift your shirt up and turn around. No, please don't. Lift your shirt up and turn around. Now, I told you to go get your golf clothing. You're going to be my caddy. Why are you giving me no money? You're going... You look it up. Ramsey, look it up. No.
Lock it up. Yeah, you're supposed to tell me back. But you hit me when I say it back. Lock it up. I don't want to say it. No, come on, say it back. I don't want to. No, be like Vince Vaughn. You be like the other one, the ugly one with the broken dick nose. Go ahead. Lock it up. Lock it up. Lock it up. Lock it up, you ignorant fool. Lock it up. Mouthful of grape soda over there, you ignorant dummy. Lock it up. Are you guys done yet? Are you having your fun? Oh, Scott, you are so awful to that man. Why do you say such mean things? I love you, man. I'm going to freak out all over this place. Okay, let's please move on. Isn't there news or sports or something you can be doing right now? Did you call ahead to Poway to see if they have a helipad? Oh, me? Yeah, did you call ahead? I don't want to have to do that.
I gave you a Nextel walkie-talkie. I use it. I set up some groceries. Remember, I set up some groceries. Remember, I set up some groceries. No, it's not an I am. You're ignorant. You guys are so due listeners right now. I'm sure no limited minutes on that son of a bitch. Let's move on. Dang it. All right, we got to take a break. Mike and Joe, we'll be back. That was some pretty good time. I didn't listen to that. Those are some good times right there. 570-1053 is our number. Our text number is 35253. Welcome back. Sky, did you see Step Brothers? Yes, I did. I went on Friday. How was it? Excuse us. It was good.
It was funny. Oh, no. There's something wrong. Let's discuss. What's your problem? Discuss. Okay. I saw two, so what do you think? Oh, yes. Rob, you're the best. Okay. Not Anchorman funny. Not Anchorman funny. What is? One of my favorite moments of the movie is the one they use in the commercials. Oh, okay. So. Very good sign. And, you know, I think guys may enjoy it more than women because there was a lot of. crude humor involved. Some prosthetics probably used in certain scenes. And it's the dude that did Anchorman? It's the same guy? It's like the same makers of kind of deal or what? Was it? I don't think it was the same as Anchorman. I don't know. No? I know it's Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. Because it definitely wasn't that caliber. No, it wasn't. It was not Anchorman caliber. Really? No. Dang it. Yeah. And that's kind of what I was expecting going into it. So on that. tip i'm a little disappointed but i mean overall it was funny you know a lot of laugh out loud moments for me but sky did you laugh out loud ever yeah well well the part that's in the commercial the bunk bed part i maybe yeah just made me laugh out loud but some of the parts i was a little a little grossed out but you know definitely it definitely earned its r rating i'll tell you that but um
It's funny, but don't go in there thinking it's going to be Anchorman because it's not. It is. It's the guy that directed, well, he wrote Anchorman. And yeah, he directed it. So the guy that made this is the same guy that directed Anchorman and Talladega Nights. Adam McKay? Adam McKay. So, but it isn't as good. It's not as good as Anchorman, you're saying? No. 570-1053 is our phone number. And, yeah, you can give us a call. We have a quick timeout. But I got cool stuff for you, so don't go anywhere. When we come back, I got a list for you. This is an actual email that I received that says, Mikey, Thank you for constantly talking about AIS. I had 21st century just for myself and my car and was paying $200 every six months. Now, again, this is a single person that was paying $200 every six months before switching to AIS. Then she goes on to say, my husband and I went to AIS in Escondido and Manny and Michael hooked us up with insurance. Both of us, both cars, a little under.
$300 every six months. So it went from $200 for one person for six months to just under $300 for two people. We got a discount for paying it all at once, and the next six months will be even less. Before we let you go, leave us with a great white shark story slash memory that you have that we will be telling our friends later today because it's so creepy or weird or interesting or different. We're out there in the middle of the night around Seal Island. Mm-hmm.
It was the middle of the night and these seals looked like neon green from the Matrix. And suddenly they took off out of nowhere. And these two sharks, two great whites in tandem at the surface, also just shining up neon green, plowing through the water, chasing down these seals. And I'm just sitting out there, 12 o'clock at night, with a couple of interns. And to see that was, you know, it was remarkable. Weird. Does your mother... The Mikey Show continues. Rock. That was quite a moment right there. If only that could happen on the air. Well, we learned a lesson. Can you eat Skye anything? Well, not by hand. What happened? Oh, Skye. Because, you know, Buka de Beppo brought in a bunch of desserts as well. And they have this humongous piece of chocolate cake. So Eddie asked if he could feed these pieces of hair. I was in a fun time mood. So I was like, sure, why not? So I go and I take a bite of it and the top is all this like gooey frosting.
And it all just goes all down my face and all down my chin, right? So that's when I made a rule that Eddie will no longer be able to feed me food. So I guess Eddie interpreted that as a challenge. Him and Seth pinned me down. He took a glob of chocolate cake and put it on my cheek. That sounds really violent. Yeah, I feel like I have chocolate all over my face right now. Am I okay? Okay, good. That was quite a moment. Oh, my God. And Mike's just sitting there playing on his computer the whole time. No, he was enjoying it. He was enjoying the show. I got to see it. I got to see it. You were just an eyewitness. Well. Yeah, bystander. I was just a hapless bystander. We'll try again after the break. No, we will not. It's a rule. No more. No more chocolate cake is what you're saying? No, friends do not feed friends. You made an inappropriate situation so much worse. Oh, man. Welcome back. It is 9-19. Okay. We were just talking about funny moments. I will remember that easily until the day I die. That was so funny to me. That was pretty good stuff. From all this different stuff, my stomach is getting quite a workout. Let's see. Sky, what was the big movies? Well, first of all, we're going to get to these movies. Entertainment Weekly's best movies of the past 25 years. We'll get to that in just a second. But what were the top movies at the box office? Okay. Well, let's work up to number one because we have much to discuss once we get there. Okay. Everybody feel good? Good. Okay. This is Unexpected.
The number four movie this weekend was The X-Files, I Want to Believe, making $10.2 million. That's it? Is that unexpected because they thought it would be good? Oh, that's really low. I just saw this stupid commercial like two weeks ago. I didn't even know about it until two weeks ago, and then I saw the commercial, and I was like, oh. Well, and you would think The X-Files geeks would come out in force. Sure. Busy at Comic-Con, man. That's crazy. So who knows? So that was only number four. Number three, Mamma Mia, making $17.9 million. Wow. Who's saying that? You wouldn't think there was enough gay guys to be able to... Number two was Step Brothers making $30 million, which is pretty darn good for an R-rated comedy. And then number one was The Dark Knight making $75.6 million. Second weekend? Second weekend. So it broke two new records. Let's see. It broke the... Where is it on my paper? Sorry. It broke the second weekend mark, making $72 million, beating out Shrek 2 from 2004. So the highest grossing second weekend. Oh, there's freaking chocolate on my face. You know where that came from. That angers me. I just saw chocolate on my face. You knew how to eat. And then it also broke the record for passing the $300 million mark in just...
10 days. That record was previously held by Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest at 16 days. Anybody think it made Challenge Titanic? That's what they're saying. It will go on to Challenge Titanic for the highest grossing film of all time. Titanic made $601 million. Right now, just after the second weekend, The Dark Knight's halfway there. $314 million. In just two weeks. That's unreal. Okay, but wait a second. Next weekend, it's got to cut that 76 in half, right? Next weekend, 20 million. It's just got to have longevity. It's got to have legs. You know, as long as people keep going back and seeing it, that's what made Titanic so huge is that the little girls would go back and see it five times. I saw it three times. There you go. So, you know, yeah. Yeah. But, I mean, that's an amazing, amazing mark. Well, there it is, man. Did you? No, he's watching Godfather. No, that's not true. 40 years from now, he'll see, you know, Dark Knight. I actually went on Saturday and I saw it. Really? Yeah. And? Nice. I loved it and I thought it set a new high water mark for that type of film. Yeah. High water. Without a doubt. Like if the water raises real high. All right, whatever. I'm trying to explain. I thought you wanted to hear what I was saying. Oh, I did. I was just trying to explain how it works. Thank you.
Ash didn't get it. She was like, hey, what do you mean? If the water's high, you mark it. And then if it's water. What? You're not making it better. Let's talk about something else. Didn't you have some list or something? Yeah, I got the list. The entertainment weeklies. Best movies of the last 25 years. That's going to be stupid. I can already tell. Well, I've seen this list, so I can't really participate. It's a weird, it's like, you know, they called it the new classics. Right. Like these are the new classics of the past 25 years. Okay. And some of them are obvious and I really agreed with. And some of them I felt like they're classics to who? Like critics? Because. To me, a classic, it's timeless. It's something that we're still talking about now that is like an amazing movie. Like a high-water mark in filmmaking. Exactly, Mike. I'm glad you brought that up. Thank you. Yeah, now everyone knows what you mean. Yeah, you know, that shouldn't have made anybody on the show mad, what I just said. I wouldn't have thought so because it was proper. I used it in the proper context. You did. Oh, no, there it goes again. And Sean's checked out.
So some of them are real good, some of them not so much. I can guess one. Do you want to do the top 10 or the top 20? Well, Eddie's put it in perspective. Let's do... Okay, let's do top 10. Just top 10. Okay. And you've put it in perspective. Like, the new classics. Okay. No doubt about it, one of the new classics are the Lord of the Rings movies. They're the new classics. Number two, the Lord of the Rings trilogies. Absolutely. Makes sense to me. Yeah. Because, I mean, you know, 25 years from now, people will still... recognize that movies and talk about them. 1979, Kramer vs. Kramer came out. That's not 25. That was more than 25 years ago. That was more than 25 years ago. And you know that. That's right. It was more. Mike. Then that doesn't count. Mike. Mike. Don't even play that. Gosh. Titanic. Titanic, obviously. The Departed. Number three, actually. Shut your mouth, Rob. One Dark Saints. There we go. Gone Baby Gone. New classic. Girl Interrupted. Mystic River. There we go. Pirates of the Caribbean. Good Will Hunting. Get Shorty. Vasity Blues. Born Identity.
Junior. Spider-Man. Check. Juno. A new classic. It's not 25 years. Scarface. Yeah, Scarface. 81, right? That's more than 25 years ago. What was that? 83. E.T. Wow, weird. Ah, weird. Pitch Poke, you owe me a Coke. Goonies. Brevkiss Club. You're so cute. Lars and the Real Girl. Should be on there. The Grifters. Landers. Celtic Pride. There we go. Leprechaun.
Was 300 on that list? Oh yeah, 300. What about No Country for Old Men? It's in the top 100. I remember seeing it and so was There Will Be Blood. I think that was really good. The one that really bothered me about this particular list I think was number 6. Transformers. Probably number 7. It was infuriating. You want me to tell you what it is? Yeah. Hannah and her sisters, number seven. To who? Who is that a classic to? Hannah and her sisters. What is that? See, that is irritating. Yeah, that's like a critics pick. Yeah, not only that, but it's not just a critics. It's like that one guy's list. Because you almost picture them bringing that up in a boardroom and everybody going, what? Hannah and her who? Why? And there's like so many other awesome movies that were like below that. Anchorman. No. Married to the mob. Comedies, are there comedies even on there? Yeah. What about like something about Mary? Dumb and Dumber. It's in the top 100. Something about Mary was in the top 100. Dumb and Dumber is a shield. I don't think it was on the moon. Something about the moon. I never saw it. We landed on the moon. It's not even cool, dude. I think Boogie Nights is on there. Boogie Nights in there? Oh, right on.
That was number 16. Carlito's Way. It's a classic story. There we go. Blow. Pirates of the Caribbean. That's in there. What about King Kong? That movie is so boring. What about Crossroads? What about King Ralph? Nice. A bunch of people are calling. Mikey Show. Go ahead. Top Gun. That should be in there. Yeah. Yeah, not in the top ten. Oh, my. Trading places. This is horrible. Karate Kid. There's a couple movies on here that we reference on the show all the time. Twinkie Show. Good fellas. I was going to say, I kind of have a guess with that. Go ahead. Half Baked. What do we reference on the show? Jaws. Swingers. Jaws, but that's way old. Tombstone? Swingers Rounders. Swingers Rounders. Made. Made. Because we reference that all the time. Oh. Aliens 3. Requiem. No. No, that's not what it's called. Requiem. Really? Requiem. Yeah. No. Aliens. Alien. Aliens. Okay. We heard. Home Alone 2. Aliens. Maybe I should just tell you. Tell me. No. No. Number 10. Paper Moon.
Moulin Rouge. Ben and Black. Out of all the movies in the past 25 years, really. That's a good one. Hannah and Her Sisters, man. Not only that, but it's number seven. Shouldn't even be in the top 100. Number nine, Die Hard. Okay, it makes sense. I mean, that changed movies. Yeah. Ooh, Pulp Fiction. Totally. Pulp Fiction should be on there. Yes, Ashley. Pulp Fiction is the number one new classic movie. Oh, wow. That makes sense to me. Number eight, Silence of the Lambs. I think that should be higher. Silence of the Lambs should be above Hannah and her sisters. Maybe not. Have you met her sisters? Silence of the Lambs is a scary movie. It won Best Picture, too. Best picture, best actress, best actor. You know who's in it as an actor? Chris, the singer. Chris Isaac. Christopherson. Chris Christopherson. Chris Martin. No, Chris Isaac, the singer, the guy that sings... Okay, do it. Is that Casey? Is that Casey? It's creepier. Number six, Saving Private Ryan.
Why? It's a great movie. Go back and watch that movie again. It's amazing. It's a great movie. It changed stuff? No, but it's a new classic. Number five, Toy Story. Oh, yeah. Changed movies. Toy Story? It was the first computer animated movie. I get it. I get it. I'll get that, but I ain't getting Hannah and her sisters. Nobody will. And then the final one you guys didn't get was number four. Blue Velvet. You creepy person. Listen to this. He wants to go on a horse and buggy ride. Don't you guys ever once in a while want to go on a horse and buggy ride? No. Was A Knight's Tale on there? Oh. Too soon. Eddie. Eddie. 35253 is our text. Our phone number, 570-1053.

It wakes me up. She really gets upset. It's like I have multiple personalities. Just smiles, huh? It's like that song, Sarah Smiles. Oh, yeah. That used to be my name when I did traffic for the jazz station. Can you imagine? You do some traffic for us. Shut up. Just once. It's like she could say Via Del Valle. Snits the butts out here. Nuts the butts. Javi? Yep. What do you want? A one, two, or a three-point question? I want to win because I never win any of your games. Let's go with the two. A two-pointer. Hey, keep it safe. What drink does Sean enjoy lightly salted? What what? What drink does Sean enjoy lightly salted? Milk. That's correct. It's very good. You should try it. Throw a little mint in there. It's disgusting. Mint? You could even put a little bit of dill. It's very good.
Can somebody talk to him? That is so gross. It is delicious. You are foul. No, I'm not. It's two to two. Yeah. Suburban Cowboy? Yeah. Well, I got to go for the win. Give me a three. Got a three. You got Eddie. Eddie won. Eddie won. Okay. Suburban Cowboy? Yeah. You want a two? No, I want a three. Oh, you want a three? I want to go for the win. You want to wrap it up with a three-pointer? Wow, nice. Your three-point question is, what was the show on Sean TV that we got the I Sit On You song from? Awesome show. Great job. Wow. You did phenomenal. You both get to come in. Yes. All right. Well, you didn't miss any. You didn't miss any. So, hang on the line, will you? Yeah, absolutely. We call him turkey. Was that guy normal that came in the studio on Friday? Because remember, we were a little worried. Oh, Seth is shaking his head. No, he wasn't normal. Everybody was cool that came in. Well, the guy won on P12. Uh-oh, look at Seth is saying. I thought they were all great. Seth must have had to deal with them a little bit more, probably, because he has to go out there and meet and greet them and all that. Yeah, there was one thing that really bothered me. Yeah, there was a bit of an incident. Did you have a pet peeve? Uh-oh. Kind of, yeah.
I don't know if you remember, we were running spots and BMW came up and you missed it. Yeah. So there was dead air for a couple seconds there. I'm trying to find out what's going on. Like, is this mic on? Was I out of the studio kind of thing? Yeah. I was out of my office. You weren't there. Yeah. So I'm trying to figure out what's going on. You know, you go through this, that, this, that, try to figure it out. And the whole time he's going, Zeth, Zeth, Zeth, Zeth, trying to take a picture. I'm like, hold on, dude. Like, hold on. And he does it again, and we finally figure it out. I'm still kind of coming down. He's like, Seth, I'm like, hold on a second, dude. Yeah. And he kind of didn't like that very much, so it was... Really? Yeah. Well, when you're frustrated and you're, like, freaking out over something, and, you know, I can see how it gets a little frustrating. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Ahem. Let's get back to work. What do you guys say? All right. What do you got? Well, I got some good stuff here. I got Paris Hilton at Comic-Con. Oh, why? Well, this is a trip, man. So, apparently, she's got this rock opera. Is it a movie? Oh, get out. Get out of here. Just wait. Leave our convention alone. This is a whole thing. Okay, so, she's got this rock opera. And one of the themes of the rock opera is apparently plastic surgery.
Yeah, it's called Repo the Genetic Opera. And people are buying and selling brand name body parts on credit. Like you could get a Gucci liver or a Fendi heart. Sounds great. So here they are asking her about plastic surgery. Cut 44. Are you against plastic surgery? What are your sort of feelings on that? Well, I've never had any plastic surgery, so doing a character like that, it was a lot of fun to change because every scene, I have a different nose, I have different eyes, different hair. We were using a lot of prosthetics, so every scene, you can't really tell that it's me, so that was a lot of fun. So the clip that we have is from the rock opera, and it's so creepy, kind of, you know? It just sounds creepy and weird, and I'm listening, I'm going, well, who's going to see it? Yeah. Who's the audience for this, you know? I guess the same people who went to see House of Wax. Is that it? I don't know. Cut 43. We're sitting in the theater with this. That's for real, by the way. Like, everybody's mouth is dropped open here in the studio. I can't even. That's real. I didn't offer that as a joke. I didn't find that and go, oh, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. What that really was was like, you know.
High school production and blah blah. That was really a clip. No. I guess it's supposed to be scary because after you get these designer body parts, if you miss a payment, they send the repo man after you to get the part back. Oh, wow. So she doesn't have a manager or an agent or anybody that looks over stuff? That's not. So she was at Comic Con this weekend pimping that. Ay, ay, ay. Crazy. Alanis Morissette said that her new album was about her breakup with Ryan Reynolds. Really? We talked to Ryan Reynolds when they were engaged, Alanis Morissette and him. We talked to Ryan Reynolds and they were like going to get married at the time we talked. They were very in love. And then they split up. Do we know why they split up? Here. I actually just read something this weekend. He's with Scarlett Johansson now. Right. Yeah. Alanis does this interview and gosh, it's going to take me a second to find it. But yeah, she talks about
you know, basically about the album. And she won't specifically say that it's Ryan Reynolds that she's talking about, but she goes, please, you know, give me a break. Everybody knows what was going on in my life. And then she basically made it sound like they weren't on the same page, like they both weren't at the same spot in their life. Well, I know they had been dating for like... Ever. Like five, seven years. Some crazy long number. Yeah. So they weren't at the same spot in their life. And then she also goes on to say that she's very happy that he found Scarlett, you know, and everything is how it should be. So happy you wrote an album about it. Yeah. Cut four. Does it amount to opening a fresh wound kind of over and over again? Because it is about your breakup, right? Yeah, it's really about my grief. I think the most painful sort of suffering-oriented moments in my life is when I'm resisting something. If I say I don't miss someone or it doesn't matter or I, you know, I regret having done it anyway, that's when I suffer. But if I just say it's true, I'm unbelievably insecure, really broken, devastated, then I can move through it. Is Ryan Reynolds a dude from the Lars and the Real Girl? No, that's Ryan Gosling. Every actor named Ryan, I confuse them.
Their name is Ryan. I get them confused. Okay, so this is interesting. So Richard Simmons, he is really going after childhood obesity. You're so teeny. Is it childhood obesity or obesity? He's going after obesity, which I think is a noble cause. See, the problem is that Richard Simmons has created an image that's pretty funny. gay i don't know that he i don't know that richard simmons like if you were to ask richard real seriously richard what is your image what have you created i think he would say a very jovial fun loving free spirit right oh definitely i am not gay i never have been gay but i think that that that everybody i mean straight gay short fat
every race, nationality, when they see Richard Simmons on TV, you giggle. Is that right? Is that right? Well, you know, when he talks about the weight loss stuff, I mean, he's real serious about it. He cries, you know, I mean, it's funny to us, but I mean, he takes it real seriously, so I don't know that he would think that. Okay, but I'm not talking about that stuff, because I've seen what you're talking about. I'm talking about when he goes like on Good Morning America and he's like, hey, you know, and he's jumping, you know, and he's like jumping around, you know, and he's wearing the dolphin shorts, you know, you know, and I've I mean, when I was a kid before I knew what gay was, I always thought he was funny. You know, his whole thing to me is kind of a funny jovial thing, you know. Right. OK, well. He testified against obesity in D.C. And obviously didn't wear the trademark short, short dolphin shorts. Dang it. He has other clothes? Dude, he wore a suit. That's a lie. I know. I don't want to believe it. How does, you know, like. No chance. With the afro, you know, and the suit. Do you guys want to hear clips of him giving testimony? Yes.

That's what we do. I got that part. It means we're legally identifying the radio station and giving the city of origin for the license. Which we would. Yeah, KIOZ is the call letters and then San Diego. Of course, it's the city of origin. That's where the license originates. Go ahead and... San Diego, so then we say hit it. Yeah, you do. You're not doing it. Well said. Eddie, what do you think the deal is with that? I don't know. I mean... Why won't you just... Took him 38 years to watch The Godfather and now it's taken out... Now this?
And now this. Is that the deal? It takes him 38 years to grasp, get to stuff that most of us do at a normal rate? Thank you. It's probably more like 31. Well, Eddie, is it, well, so is he saying that in 2042 he will finally hit it? Because at this rate, okay, well, that is disappointing. That is hurtful and disappointing. Wow. I guess. Well, why is he saying, yeah, wow, he's agreeing with it, but yet he's doing... Yes, I'm on the phone. Thank you. Should we get to the Richard Simmons clip? Yeah, please. Richard Simmons was giving testimony in front of, I'm guessing, like some sort of political committee in Washington, D.C. Yeah, I think it may have been. Congress. In front of Congress. Or like a House committee or something. Like something big in Washington. Like it was like on CNN that Richard Simmons is in Washington. In a suit. Yeah. Not his dolphin shorts. Yeah. And tank top. With, you know, his bedazzled, you know, sometimes he'll wear a very bedazzled sort of tank top that has like, you know, sequins. Right. And it was Congress. It was Congress. Yeah.
So here he is, cut 15. How dare he? How dare he? I don't know, Eddie. I don't know why you're saying that. It's ruining the show. Yeah, good point, Eddie. Yeah. Well, I mean, the thing is, Eddie, is that, you know, I'm trying to get into this clip here. You call for the clip and he hits what he's supposed to hit. A long time ago. Uh-huh. I don't understand. He's stupid. He's the worst. Exactly. Mike. What do I do? What would you do? I would fire him. We can't fire him, though. I would fire him. Sean is saying he would, but he's the guy. That's the thing. He's the guy. Cut 15. Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Richard Simmons, and I never took a PE class in my life. I spent my elementary school, my high school, and my college sitting on the benches watching everyone play sports. And to get back at them...
While they were playing sports, I ate their lunch. Any child in America to have my childhood because it was taken away from me because I just wasn't good enough. Well, I'm good enough now. And there's a statistic that says our children today will not live as long as their parents. What have we done? What have we done to the kids of the United States of America? This is wrong. And I will dedicate the rest of my life. And Chairperson George Miller, I just may run for office to help this really get through. He looks very dapper. See, here's my, let me give you my thoughts here. That was great. Here are my thoughts and feelings. See, it's like, I've said this before. Sometimes I feel like some very well-intentioned Christians get the message across wrong. Sometimes well-intentioned Christians get the message across wrong.
Well, what I mean is that I think that sometimes they have, like, I don't necessarily disagree with what they're saying, but sometimes when they're screaming it at the top of their lungs and their face, the person hearing it, now they've already turned it off. Yeah, then they start to hear other messages that you're not actually speaking, but, you know, like, hey, this person's angry. Yeah. Hey, this person has crazy fro-y hair. Dude, check this out. Damn it! Like if they're doing that, if they're doing that, then the person hearing it may go, so wait a second. Are you telling me that if I subscribe to your school of thought, I'll be you? That don't sound good to me. And with this thing with Richard Simmons, he's showering and everything. He's acting like a crazy person. Yeah. Like they're hearing it, no doubt. They can't help but hear it. But I just wonder if it's all seeping in because, you know. Then the other thing is, too, this issue of obesity. I was an obese little fat kid myself. And the reason that I was, there was a few reasons. One reason I was was because my parents were not monitoring what I was consuming. The other day, we were all at the house.
It was me and my parents and my wife and her mom. And my wife made me for lunch. She made me a grilled cheese sandwich. She makes the best grilled cheese on the planet, my wife. And she said, do you want anything with it, honey? And I said, yeah, can you get me a pickle? I love grilled cheese sandwiches with pickles. It's like a thing I have. I can't have one without the other. And my mom was sitting there and she goes, pickle? And I go, yeah. And she goes, How long have you done that? And I said, since I was a kid. And she goes, well, I didn't give you that. And I go, I know. Now, the point is, is that a lot of times at my house, it was like a fend for yourself kind of thing. You know, you just fend for yourself. I fed myself all the time.
And I ate garbage. A couple of reasons I ate garbage. A, I didn't have anybody making sure I didn't. And B, that's what was there. I didn't have money. It's not like I was going to Vons and doing grocery shopping for 10-year-old Mike. And I remember at the time, it was a big deal, me being fat. Like it was a big deal of like, oh man, and we got to send you to this, you know, nutritionist and let's put you on this diet. How about we don't buy that stuff anymore? There's a thought. That's a thought, right? It's garbage. When you think about childhood obesity, a lot of it is what are we bringing into the house? What's in our house? Because our kids are going to eat what's in the house. Skye's mom, whether or not you subscribe to what she thought about the food coloring stuff, at least she had for the most part. She had a pretty good idea of what you were consuming. Oh, yeah. For the most part. Definitely. You had your times where you snuck a couple things here and there. But for the most part, she knew what was going on. Oh, yeah, she did. And that's a good idea, man. I mean, if you want to solve kids being fat, what do you guys think? What do you say, Eddie? Yeah, I mean, you got to make sure your kid is, you know, exercising right.
You know, eating properly and those kind of things for sure. Yeah, got to watch what they're eating. You know, Richard Simmons' big thing was that he was testifying about is, you know, he believes that more money should be put into physical education at schools. And instead of cutting the programs, they should be extending the programs, you know, with obesity being a problem. Do you guys think it's, you know, like that's a good idea? I'll tell you what I think. I don't have an issue. I don't have any problems. On a local level, school districts decided we're not going to sell and give junk to kids. If kids want junk, they can either get it from their parents or they can get it outside of here. But as a school, we're just going to give healthy stuff. Yeah, I love that idea. I mean, how can you really have a problem with that? Honestly, I don't think it's necessary to serve tater tots that are fried. It's just not necessary. It's not needed. If they want to eat tater tots, fine. But it's cheaper than the healthy alternative and the schools only get so much money. Is that what it is? Yeah. It's cheap. And they get, you know, a lot of nice money from the soda companies who allow them to put their soda machines in the schools. It always comes back to money. Yeah. Go ahead, Seth. When I was in high school, we actually got a new scoreboard for our gymnasium sponsored by Coca-Cola because we had their banning machines on our campus. Yeah. See, I think phys ed would be cool if like.
It's actually like a gym, like you work out, like there's equipment, you know, not this BS, like, oh, run around the school and then everybody walks and then cuts and takes a shortcut. I think that'd be cool. That sounds expensive, but I'd be down, man, like working out and exercising and all that for kids. Yeah, I think it's important, but I think what's really important is the stuff they eat, man. That's important, you know. I mean, yeah. I think they're equally important. It goes hand in hand. Yeah, it goes hand in hand. You know, start them off right on a healthy lifestyle from the beginning. Dude, I'm not going to say who, but we know, we know, and they're not even here. They're not even here, so it doesn't matter. They're not in San Diego, but their kid is a, I want to say, I don't know how old the kid is, man, but he's obese. And every day, all he eats, every single day. is pizza and hamburgers and stuff like that and um man i just go like i really love my kid i really love my kid and part of it is for me you know i grew up that way so i don't ever want jake to go through that stuff man you guys know my issues with weight and everything that i've been through with weight and i think about it and i go i really love my kid i don't want to give him that stuff i can't
It'd be hard for me to imagine giving him that. Because I feel, I would feel so bad, man. Honestly, I mean, to each their own. Man, you feed your kid Coke. You give your kid Coca-Cola and you give your kid all that stuff. Okay, cool, man. That's all good. Like, don't get mad at me for me saying I don't want to give that to my kid. But I just think it's unnecessary. Like, you don't have to, right? Like, you don't have to give your kid that. Well, it should be, like, a treat. Like, I remember growing up, every Friday night, like, we'd go to tennis lessons, so I'd get, like, a workout in, and then we'd, like, family dinner, like, order a pizza, like, from the same place, same pizza, and it was, like, my Friday night routine. And that was the only time I ever got pizza. That's cool. Like, I mean, yeah, because I'm not saying, like, I guess that's it, moderation, right? Oh, yeah. Sure. It's moderation. You know, now, I can tell you, Rebecca doesn't really mix in.
In terms of moderation, she doesn't really mix in too much of the bets. The sugariest thing that happens is every once in a while, she gives him a handful of trail mix that has little M&Ms in it. And he goes to the M&Ms first and eats all those. And then he kind of suffers through peanuts and raisins. Of course, they taste good, M&Ms. They're real good in your mouth. But, you know, man, what are you going to do? Kids are... Kids, and you guys know, man. You guys, all of us here on the show and everybody listening, you've seen those kids that they eat. Yeah. Junk. They eat really, really, really bad. And my dad, I was talking to my dad about it. My dad goes, I think it's an issue of like, as a parent, you get home, you're tired and all that. And I said, all right. I mean, at least. Oh, yeah.
Okay, it gives me context. I got some context there. All right, cool. May not agree necessarily. Yeah, you're working two jobs and the thing right off the freeway on the way home is the Taco Bell or whatever. I get it. I understand. I understand. It tastes good, huh? Hey, it tastes good. But she's a vegetarian that's allergic to Mexican food, Mike. Dude, I got so much food there the other day for like four bucks. She's a vegetarian. And she's allergic to Mexican food. She's so sick. I don't know, you guys. You don't want me through that, Eddie? I can't. I mean, it's impossible. How's that work, though? She's crazy, I guess. A veggie allergic to Mexican that's going to Mexican. I don't... Hey, Eddie, my dad's making that chili con carne. Mark's coming into town. P1 Mike? Yeah. Go ahead. Yeah, I just wanted to comment on the obesity children. My little cousin... She's seven now, and when she was six, well, actually, her earlier years, my grandma was babysitting her and didn't really have much of an active lifestyle and was constantly feeding her sweets, candies, and stuff. And she actually ended up being a diabetic. A kid? She's seven now, but the good news is, you know, my aunt was really, you know, she identified it, and she got into the doctor and got on a very strict diet, and she thinned out, but she was, you know, well over 100 pounds, and she was just, it was...
horrible hey check it out man if you like um even if you're not feeding your kids sweets but let's say you feed your kid like all the fast food and stuff and they get real fat the kid diabetes man that's i mean childhood diabetes becomes a uh the chances become real high and with us my brother got diabetes that dude you guys never saw mark when he was fat right eddie do you ever see mark that way no because my brother's thin My brother, Mark, he is thin, you know, like he is the model of like, he looks like the model of health, you know, because that guy walks every single day, like five to 10 miles a day. He walks, you know, he goes on these walks into this canyon every day. And so he's real health conscious. But that guy every day used to eat Big Macs every single day, every day. It was his favorite thing. And so every day he would get one. He did that for years. He got diabetes. So obesity causes, you know, there's a lot of bad stuff to it. But Richard's yelling in that clip, man. He's going for it. Let's see. What else did I miss that was really big? We talked about the Manny Ramirez. He says he's willing to accept a trade from Boston. Kind of a weird story. I don't even know if they're really wanting to trade him. He's just saying, yeah, I'll be traded. Okay, Manny. Take it easy.
Fair enough. Let's see. Oh, more water rate hikes in San Diego. Leave us alone. Yeah, why? Okay, let me see. Sky, you would have killed me yesterday. What did you do? He wasted a lot of something. I did. I felt bad. It was very wasteful. Walk me through it. Tell me. I won't do it again. I won't do it again. I promise I won't do it again. You don't even know what it is. I'm already upset. Well. I never freeze stuff. I never freeze stuff, and I should. My parents are the king of freezing. They'll have a peanut butter sandwich, not eat it, and freeze it. In six years from now, they'll take it out and thaw it. But they freeze everything they don't eat. And so I'm kind of trying to get into this. So a while back, we made some spaghetti sauce, and I froze a giant Ziploc bag of it. It was homemade, and I spent a lot of time with it. And it was delicious, and I had a ton of it left, so I put it in the freezer.
So yesterday, we decided last night we were going to have spaghetti for dinner. So in the morning, I took it out. My parents came over in the afternoon to have it, and it wasn't thawed. So I turned the water on, and I ran the water over it. I know. That's really bad, right? Well, what you can do next time. Next time. Tell them about it, Eddie. Fill your sink up, plug it, and then sit in there. That's a good idea. Well, that's what you do. I'll give it a bath. Yeah, that's what you do. I didn't know. hot water and put it in there. That's a good idea. What'd you think of that, you turkey? Yeah. Ideas, guy. Next time. Spaghetti was delicious. But anyways.
They say that we could have two more water rate increases coming in the next couple months, which would bring the total to six different price increases over the last two years. One would be over a 6% increase starting in January to cover higher costs of water sold by the wholesale agencies. And then the second rate increase would be to cover the $12 million they need to build and operate a pilot. facility for their whole... We have to stop our dependency on foreign water. Well, see, that's what they're saying. They want 12 mil to build this pilot facility for the whole toilet to tap idea where they recycle the... No. I don't want to do that. Can we vote? I don't want to do that. I vote no. Eddie, Orange County does it. They say it's perfect. Delicious. I don't care. Yummy. They use the word yummy. No, they don't. They say by late 2009, our bills will be up 40% from where they were in early 07. Can't afford it. 40%. But I can't afford it. From early 07. That's not good. Yeah, water's expensive-o. We shouldn't turn to how they say it works.
That's so gross. No, I don't want to do that. You know what? Remember, we read that thing. Sky told us that they just tested a bunch of water and they found out that people, because they take a bunch of medicine, trace amounts of it in the water. Well, that's right there. Ridiculous. Ridiculous. You can't filter out everything. Everything. I mean, you know, they're looking to filter out bacteria, which is great, but then we're getting all these meds. Yeah. That ain't cool. You don't want that. Carrots. carrots in there? You know what he means, Skye. Don't play coy with Eddie. Oh, yeah. Grow up. I think that was not caught by the filter. Eddie, that's not how it would happen. They couldn't filter out in a complete kernel of corn. Eddie, that's so stupid. That is filthy. That doesn't happen that way. And you know it doesn't happen that way.
100%. Stop doing that. Oh, yeah. I got you. I got you. That's so weird. P1 Jason. Jason. Yeah, I just wanted to apologize to Seth. I was the one who was kind of pestering him about that picture. Oh, Seth, you jerk. You upset this guy, man. You're the biggest jerk. Man, why'd you do that? Seth is a human being. It's a person. He's got feelings, man. I just didn't get the hint. And on top of that, I just want to thank everyone on the show who was there for the tickets to Comic-Con. I had a great time, and I was thinking about B-Rob, especially after I saw his blog, how he wanted to actually go, and he couldn't get tickets. But thanks for everything. The show was great, and I appreciate what you're doing. Don't worry about it, Jason. It was just a... Yeah, you're a good guy, Jay.
I think you should call anybody named Jason J. No, I just noticed. It's fine. I think it's cool. Who do you know that's Jason that you would never think to call him J? Friday the 13th. No way. I also, let me tell you what else. I think any guy or any girl whose name begins with a D, that you can call him D. You got a friend named David, you can say, what's up, D? Yeah. Nothing wrong with it. There's a lot wrong with it. Nothing wrong with it. I would call your wife D. No, you wouldn't. Okay, not if it's a woman. But any guy with a name that starts with D, I think it would be okay. Who's a D that you would not say that, Sky? See, I mean just right there. It's a connotation. Oh, I get what you're saying. You know what I mean. You got a filthy, dirty gutting off. Sky. So why was a gay rights group boycotting the local hotels? Yeah. Hey, just stop it. Get out of here. Leave. Yeah, they're specifically boycotting the Manchester Grand Hyatt and the Grand Del Mar because the owner of both those hotels donated $125,000 to Proposition 8, which is the one that's going to be on the November ballot that would ban same-sex marriages here in California.
And it's interesting that I read this this morning because when we went to Phantom of the Opera last week downtown, as we were leaving, some dude was out there screaming, don't stay at the Hyatt. He was yelling it at everybody. And I'm like, why is this guy mad at the Hyatt? Don't stay at the Hyatt. Yeah. And now I know they're mad because this guy donated to Proposition 8, and the owner of the hotel says he's surprised by the boycott. He didn't mean to offend anybody, but he said he contributed because he was asked to, and due to his strong Catholic faith, he thinks this is the way things should go, and so he donated his money. Well, check it out. You know, me, I don't believe in gays getting married, but... If there was a guy that donated to like some cause to help gays get married, my thought, but I'm always different than everybody. No. But my thought would be, well, that's his right. Like you have a right to do, you know, like he has a right to do that. You got a right to protest it, sure. But like, isn't that his right? Like, how can I get mad at somebody for exercising what they're allowed to do? But if they're exercising their, if they, if what they believe in is limiting your freedoms. Yeah.
then, you know, it hurts you and you don't want to support their business and you want to boycott them. Like if there was a hotel that was trying to... See, that's like us, Skye. It's like us, like on the radio and somebody like boycotts our supporters. You know what I mean? Like they boycott our advertisers. Yeah, if you donated money to try and take away rights from homosexual people, I could see them not wanting to listen to our show. You know, you can have all your opinions, but once you take your opinions and put them into action... And when the action is taking away the rights that somebody has, yeah, like if somebody were to, you know, own a hotel that you stayed at all the time and they donated money to a proposition to ban Christianity, you'd be like, no, no, Christians, let's not stay there anymore. Let's stay in the hotel that accepts us for who we are. This is the difference with me. I would say I'm not going to stay there. That's what I would do. I would say I'm not going to stay there. Yeah. But I always think it, but I, you know me. Yeah, you're not a fan of protests regardless of the cause. No, I would just go on. No, I totally understand. Go boycott. Boycott. Let's protest. Yep, that's what I'm saying, Mike. Let's see. I think we're good. Because I'm looking at the other stuff. I'm like, eh.
I'm kind of interested in Leonardo DiCaprio developing a movie off an old Twilight Zone episode only because I'm into old Twilight Zone episodes. Yeah, I thought of you when I read that this morning. The pig face one? Which one? Oh, that is the eye of the beholder. Well, unfortunately, they don't say which specific episode. Oh, that's terrible. But DiCaprio's working with Warner Brothers to develop, you know, because the Twilight... How about kick the can? Kick the can. Yeah, because the original Twilight Zone movie had, what, four stories in it? Three, four, nine, whatever. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, but this would be just based singly on one story. I'm down. Yeah, I think that'd be cool. That happened to LaBeouf, man. Yeah. Oh, yeah, Shia LaBeouf. What'd he get in trouble for, Sky? Early yesterday morning, went to make a left turn and ended up crashing into another car. You know, police roll up on the scene with Shia LaBeouf's truck laying on its top.
And, yeah, it turns out the guy was under the influence. So it would have been felony DUI, but his passenger as well as the other driver were not seriously injured. They were injured, but not seriously injured. That's what makes a difference? I guess so. I mean, maybe if you're a celebrity, that's what makes a difference. I don't know. But, you know, currently they're filming Transformers 2, and Shia LaBeouf had to have extensive surgery on one of his hands because of this accident. This is pretty serious. And now will not return to the set of Transformers 2 for at least a month. For real? Dang. But it's just a misdemeanor DUI. Oh, wow. Which doesn't make sense. Is that his first DUI? I feel like he got in some other car accident. No, he got in trouble for being under the influence in Walgreens. How random is that? Yeah, he was wandering around, creeping out the security guard and everybody. That's true. That was going to be a topic that we did on the air, like your favorite Walgreens incident. There was too many, though. Yeah, you're like, well, nobody can narrow it down. But this one's really bad. It's so funny because they just, like, last year did a whole article on him in Entertainment Weekly about he's the model of the new, like...
teen star who doesn't get in trouble and is like perfect. Yeah, it's like Madden. It's like being on the cover of Madden. Total jinx. 570-1053. Beginning and end of every show, we do an open phone segment so you can call in about anything you want. A lot of my day is spent with tomatoes. You're cute. In my backyard. Reading about them. Cultivating them. ordering Siberian seeds, growing them in little individual plant cells, then putting them in the ground. Yeah, you should exchange books with the hubby. He's in the middle of reading the Vegetable Gardener's Bible, so that's really exciting. I would like to see that. I would really like to see that when he's done. I knew you would. I knew you would. I would. 570-1053. Mikey Show, hello.
Are you taking a request? Yes, what would you like to hear? Animals become by three days grace. Okay, thank you very much. That's a good one. That's that on. That's that on to Missy. I don't know if I told you guys this. Boston Rob decided, I don't want to check your email anymore. Now, he didn't tell me. He didn't tell me, but he hasn't made it official. Doesn't he periodically do that? No, he decided no more. No more, Mike. He's over you. Yeah, he's over it. He's over the job. He's over me. When was this? He's over the... Well, I did, but I told you I'm not going to do it when I'm back in Boston, right? He says, listen, I'm done. I'm done doing that. I'm done doing that. The last time I got mail, three, four weeks ago? Come on. Three, four weeks ago. It was the week before we went on vacation. Three, four? What am I, three? It wasn't three weeks ago. Three, three weeks ago. It was at least three weeks ago that I got something. I will bet. Have you gone on there recently? No. Yeah, I'm supposed to be doing it. I forgot about it. That's my fault. I would bet there's 600. I bet there's more. There's probably more, right? Oh, absolutely. Sign on real quick and see. You never gave me your password. It's the one that you said. We made sure that that's what it is. It's the one you told me it was. I called and got it all straightened away. Yeah, yeah. That's it. But he don't like it. I finally said, okay, that's fine.
I can't make you do something you don't want. I mean, I could fire you, but I don't want to. I love you. You're a friend of mine. Aw. Fire him. Listen, Mike, I don't like it. I don't like the read. Aw. It's not my thing. I don't like the read. It's not my thing. You do it. You do it. Mikey Show. Hello. Yo. What's up? What up? What's happening? How you doing? Good, man. What's going on? I'm nothing, man. Hanging out like a hubcap in the fast lane. Oh, I know who this is. Oh, yeah. What's up, dude? What's up? I got to tell you, thank you. I appreciate the tickets to Comic-Con. You know what I mean? I've never seen so many nut jobs in one spot. That is true. That's right. Not to mention, Eddie. Yo. What's popping, Pappy? What's up, player? What's up? Transformers 2, are you serious right now? Is it off the chain? I was... I'm going to cry. Oh, no. Damn, dude. Get it together, yo. Wow. I'm back in the game. Put me on the field, coach. But anyways, yo, Sky. Yeah? Why are you upset at me? Because I came to pick up my tickets, and I saw you walking out, and I said, hi, Sky, and you just kept it moving. Oh, no, you didn't. I didn't hear anybody. Why are you going to play like that? That's my homie. I thought me and you were part of this talking caps and wave. Wow.
I'm sorry. I must not have hurt you. That was very rude. That's okay, because when I come in there next month, all I want you to do is say, AOM, that's all I want you to do for me one time. Have we met him in person? We met AOM in person? Yeah, he's been in. He's been in here before? He's coming from trivia. Don't remember. Throwback. I know, because I wasn't this lively. But now I feel like I'm part of the rock fam, so now I've got to talk to you. There you go. There you go. All right, dude. We'll see you soon. All right, we'll see you. P1 Carlos. Hey, what's up, Mikey? I had a question about the Joker contest. Yes. I was wondering how you guys are going to judge it. Just by looks or... Crowd response. Crowd response. And we're going to be judging it based on how it looks, you know? We're going to have a crowd out there of all P1s. And so we'll do it like we did last time. We go on crowd response. We have people scream and yell if they love it. Okay. So, yeah, we're doing that Wednesday morning. Come down to 9660 Granite Ridge Drive and just... You know, be dressed like the Joker, the one from Dark Knight, Heath Ledger's Joker. And it would help if you act like him too, right? Sure, the whole thing. I like your lips all weird. Yeah, man. Do the whole face paint and the whole thing. Ashley just did an impression. Do it again, Ash. There it is right there. It just sounded like that. Perfect. I'm just being mean. Perfect. P1, Captain Jack Sparrow is on the line, ladies and gentlemen. Hey, how's it going, everyone? Good, man.
Hey, I just wanted to put out a prayer request. I hope everyone in the studio and all the P1s out there can just pray for my best friend, Andrew Ariave. He's been in the hospital for a little over a month now, and he's suffered a lot of head trauma. What happened, man? I don't know. I guess he went out with a couple of friends one night, and he left the group, and they couldn't find him for a couple of hours, so they went home and got a phone call the next day saying he was in the hospital. So, I mean, he's awake now, but he can't talk or anything. He can move, but... What's his name again? Andrew Ayabe. Okay. Thanks for the phone call, dude. Let's see. One last phone call. Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Thanks. Missy is up next. And today on the show, she's got the nooner. It's going to be some double shots. Make sure you listen. And then we will get back together tomorrow morning. We'll do the whole thing over again tomorrow morning at 5.30. The best death starts. Missy's up next. Mikey Show is out late.
