Eddie's worsening Maui finger injury became a running crisis as Mikey, Sky, callers, and an online poll debated infection, embedded coral, or amputation while Eddie resisted treatment because antibiotics might interfere with drinking in Denver. Mikey and Rebecca turned household anxieties into two major bits: a tarantula trapped under a bucket near Jake and a bedroom-color argument that ended in a concrete decorating compromise. The crew and callers mined embarrassment for comedy through P1 Jimbo's failed best-man speech, Ashley's accidental insult to her neighbor, and a parade of foot-in-mouth stories, while the Dr. Phil character warned Natalie against taking a lavish Greece trip with a stranger. Ty Anderson made the serious case that Third Day could cross into the mainstream without hiding its faith or lowering its musical standards, and later the cast fought over the Jonas Brothers, praised Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, mangled P1 Password, and delighted in 'Charlie Bit Me.'
What happened, in order
Eddie's Coral Finger
Eddie described a badly swollen finger injured while snorkeling in Maui, and the crew urged him to see a doctor after his do-it-yourself needle surgery made it worse.
The Paparazzi Boundary
Mikey explained that P1 Paparazzi's bumper-sticker complaint was part of a longer pattern of intrusive contact, while arguing that Brad was really seeking attention and needed a healthier way to reach out.
Tarantula Under a Bucket
Rebecca trapped a porch tarantula under a taped-down bucket, worried about son Jake and West Nile virus, and debated with Mikey and callers over whether the spider was truly dangerous.
Best-Man Speech Disaster
P1 Jimbo reported that despite the show's advice, his best-man speech began with a failed joke, dissolved into sweating and a cracking voice, and ended before he finished his notes.
The Silver Bedroom Debate
Mikey called silver walls cold and sterile, Rebecca and most of the crew defended her silver-blue-brown design, and the couple settled on trading control of the bedroom for one warmer-colored room.
A Free Trip to Greece
P1 Natalie wondered whether to accept a Greece vacation from a near-stranger, and the Dr. Phil character argued that the expensive invitation almost certainly came with sexual expectations.
Foot-in-Mouth Confessions
Ashley admitted implying that her 32-year-old neighbor was behind in life, prompting callers to share painful blunders involving cancer, pregnancy, suicide, baby names, and an insulted website designer.
Third Day Breaks Through
Ty Anderson discussed Third Day's album Revelation, its Tonight Show appearance, and the band's belief that openly Christian music still had to compete on musical quality.
P1 Password Meltdown
Boston Rob, Zeth, Ashley, Mikey, Sky, and Eddie repeatedly failed at one-word Password clues, with 'Ham Weekly' and a disastrous attempt to clue 'microwave' becoming the running jokes.
Jonas Brothers Showdown
Ashley championed the Jonas Brothers' 'Burnin' Up' as irresistible pop, while Mikey and the others mocked it as Disney music designed for children and caller Angie defended the band's talent.
Trying to Understand The Dark Knight
Mikey and Sky confessed that skipping Batman Begins left them confused by The Dark Knight, while the crew praised Heath Ledger's Joker as terrifying, funny, and strangely likable.
Charlie Bit Me
The crew replayed and dissected the viral 'Charlie Bit Me' clip, laughing at the older brother's attempt to reason with the baby before proposing a Boston Rob-and-Zeth parody.

Welcome to the show, everybody. It is 6-0-6. Mayor Sanders declared a water shortage emergency for San Diego yesterday. Hats off to Greg Maddox. He finally snaps his 14-game winless streak, beating the D-backs 8-5. You don't think that that is spaghetti sauce. It has a lot to do with it, Mike. I wonder if I kind of... Well, you left the water running when you drank that sauce, and the mayor heard about it. I wonder if that... Way to go, Mike. Way to go, Mike. Should I turn myself in? Yes. 5701053 is the number. I am trying out some new headphones today. Yeah, they are inner ear monitors. Problem is that they're not a very good representation of what they would normally be. Because what I'm trying out is the kind of molded type of ear piece that they
singers use when they sing. That they're flesh colored. So they would normally come in and they would take a mold of my inner ear and it would fit right into my ear every time. Which I enjoy. I like that. It makes me feel safe. He'd be very Adam Levine. Very. Very Adam Levine. Well, let's see. Testing, testing. How do they sound? Do they sound good? Do they sound good? How do they sound? It's not cool, Sean. It's going to leave a mark. Yeah, but these are just the kind that I push them in my ear, and so they sound okay, but nothing like if I had a molded fit. So what are you going to do? Let's go around the room, introduce everybody, and get the show on the road. I'm going to tell you, I'm not prepared. And so I think it's going to be a fantastic show, but there's going to be a lot of... And Eddie's prepared me. Yeah. I mean, I have all the stuff in front of me. It's just, you know, my own personal preparation has gone by the wayside today. You need a muffin? I need a muffin. You need a muffin. He gets you a muffin. Someone get him a muffin. I know what my guy needs. It's a muffin. I need a muffin. Eddie gets it. Maybe you need a muffaletta. That's right. That's delicious.
Oh, that sounds familiar. What is it? New Orleans, man. It's a New Orleans sandwich with the olive spread. So good. Yum. Eddie's an olive fan. You like olives. Love olives. Big olive fan. I'm not so much, you know. I don't dislike them, but they're not my favorite thing. It's an olive relish, Mike. You know, you got the vinegar and the oil and, you know, carrots are in the filetta all chopped up together, marinated, and then spread on a bread. Sounds good to me. Lots of meat. Lots of meat. Speaking of that, I went outside last night. Lettuce. You guys know what bib lettuce is? And it's so healthy and big and giant and like juicy. Yeah. I broke a piece off, came inside, rinsed it off, put a little crushed kosher salt, cracked some pepper on there and threw some blue cheese on there. Just one big piece of bib. It was delicious. That sounds good. I should start eating healthy. You're growing this stuff. I should consider eating healthy. You know what I mean? Let's go around the room. Eddie is my best friend of many, many years. He's got what they call guns. That's true. I actually blogged about something similar to that with Eddie today. Eddie has natural strength.
It's genetic. It is. It's genetic. Some people are not very strong. Genetically, they're not born with necessarily a lot of strength. Like B-Rob. Let me tell you, he's talented and smart. He's good looking. I think he'd be the first to tell you, hey Mike, I'm not strong. I beg to death. Over the threshold, like whatever he wanted. That's sweet. That was nice of you. That's right. Eddie is 35 years of age. Half Italian, half Mexican. Eddie, how is your finger? Mike, a lot worse. No. Oh, dude, I can see. Yeah, you can see how swollen it is. Now, wait a minute. I have a question. First of all, just to give a little background. Eddie went to Maui. he was snorkeling near some coral. Waves were crashing him up against the rocks and the coral. Yeah, I almost died. And he got a little... Now, are we sure that you got some... I don't know what it is. I definitely put my hand down and I felt something spiky. First, I thought it was a sea urchin, but when I got out, it looked like there was something in my finger black, but it wasn't like a barb. And it didn't sting.
Apparently, you know, when you get a sea urchin, it was supposed to like the poison was supposed to like my finger and it never stung. So I don't know if it was coral or the rock or something got in my finger, though. Are you about ninety nine percent sure that whatever it is in your finger does have to do with the water? Yes. So a hundred percent sure. A hundred percent sure. OK, so Eddie comes back, tells us about this. Sky recommends performing surgery on himself. Of course, he's a doctor. Eddie is a doctor, so he said... No, I'm not certified, but I do like to perform surgeries on myself. That is true. Now, I'll admit... And others. That's right. Oh, wow. Weird. I'll admit, I agreed with Sky's recommendation. I thought that sounded reasonable. Soak in a little hot water. Sterilize a little needle. What are we, children? Of course. I love it. I was the one who said no. Yes, she did, Sean. Well, I wouldn't recommend it to children, but I would for adults. I mean, if you're an adult person that hasn't been drinking or doing drugs. Works good for splinters. Yeah. I do it all the time. So Eddie did. And I might add, he did his due diligence. He did what he was supposed to do before performing surgery. Scrubbed up, took the needle, sterilized the needle, and he went to town. Yeah. Found nothing. Didn't find anything.
But ever since I've done that, it's gotten worse daily as far as swelling, pain. And a couple days ago, it started to get hard. Like hard as a rock. And now, it is as hard as it's ever been. You can feel it. And it's red and swollen. And now, I can't touch anything and it hurts. It must be infected. But I don't understand why it's hard. My question is, is this... the actual thing in there or is this a result of performing surgery i'm not sure i really don't know because it was like that before he did the surgery too like i mean yes it's progressively getting worse but there was like a hard little lump in there before wasn't this like this though no it wasn't as big ski ball ski turn on the light let me take a look i'm gonna take a look this is bad it ain't good yeah i think it's the opposite of good
Yeah, I'd say bad. Yeah, I'd say bad. I think he's a goner. Well, first of all, can I touch you? Can I touch you? Gross. Hello. No. Well, first of all, you can see it. You know, you can see bulging. This is very sexy, Sean. I think you should go to a doctor, Eddie. He saw bulging. Is that a barb in your finger or are you just happy? Okay. That's where I feel. You can press on it. Really? It feels like a callus, but, dude, something ain't right. Is that little thing right there where you perform surgery? The incision. Yeah. I definitely think it's time. Yeah. We're leaving tomorrow. I would say so. Oh, man. You could probably get in. You think he could get in today? He could either get into a doctor. Can we shut that up? Can we turn that off? He could either get into a doctor or go to an urgent care, but I think he should. They have those sterile trays where they've got all kinds of implements. They can look in there and see what's going on. Only problem is they're probably going to have to numb it. Mike, no. No, no, no. Oh, Mike. I said no. I have an additional issue. What? I have Tony from Wireworks coming over today at 12 to mount my TVs and wire up surround sound. Okay. So I don't have time.
Maybe Tony could do something to it. Or maybe a friend. Would you be cool with a friend being there when Tony gets there so that you could go do that? Or would you be weirded out? Well, I would like to be there in the beginning and just kind of talk to him about what exactly is going to happen and all that stuff. I mean, I don't even mind leaving him there and going and get it looked at. But I don't know. We'll see. Well, that freaked me out. It's not good. Sky's our news girl. She's 30. Hi. And got curly hair. True. She's married. Been married a while. And her husband's name is Bunny Boo. Yes. Bunny Boo, Bunny Love, whatever. He's a handsome guy. I like the new hair. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Bunny Love. It's pretty crazy. When we went to the Bay Area, some people didn't recognize him because of the hair. For real? Yeah. It was really weird. I think it's cool. And I think he's...
lucky to have that. He has that naturally. Yeah, he's got a full head of hair, that kid. Shawnee O'Boy is our sound effects guy. He's 38 years old and makes friends with people that work at 7-Eleven. True. He's a nice guy. What do you want? It's a true fact. Well, some are friends, some are not. It depends. Did you figure out his name yet? My friend? Yeah. Have you guys partied? Go to Reno together anytime soon? No. Maybe Vegas. Vegas. Maybe New Delhi. Damascus. Ashley's our assistant producer and she is 25 years old and she's wearing a western shirt today. Love it. Giddy up. She looks very cute. I no longer like it.
Ashley's on fire today, FYI. Fatten down the hatches. Can you explain that? You want to expand on that a little bit? Well, she just came in here and was telling us how she has taken her Adderall this morning. And she is on point. And she is ready to go. Okay. I'm happy to hear that. I think the hair says it all. I think so. Thank you. Well, Mommy's getting her hair done today. Oh, and a new thing. She calls herself Mommy and refers to herself in the third person. That's fantastic. She's been doing this for a couple weeks. An appointment at 2.30. Yes, Mommy has a hair appointment. She does. See? 2.30. Third person over there on fire. Oh, my goodness. I'm an Ashley fan. I have to admit it. Like, it's the stupidest thing in the world. Mommy has a hair appointment. Oh, I love it. It's true. So, there we go. Oh, boy. No bangs today, either. No, I got it. Kind of weird. Nope, not rocking the bangs. No. What will she do? Well, I got it. That's the whole point of the hair appointment. Why do you think mommy has a hair appointment? Mommy has a hair appointment at two to get the bangs trimmed. Yeah, because mommy's got to get her bangs done. Get the roots done, you know. She looks good, you know, for boot camp. What's interesting is mommy's not a mommy. That's the weird thing. I'm pretty sure she is. Have you seen my dog?
Thank you. Oh, boy. Boston Rob is our sound effects guy. No, he's not. He's our phone screener. Why do I say sound effects? I do that every once in a while, but no. He's our phone screener. He's also a singer-songwriter. It's okay. I don't mind. And he's a good guy. Engaged to be married. Don't know when. Don't have a date. My dad asks me every time I see him as if he's never asked before, does Rob know when he's getting married? I say, nope, Dad. Still doesn't. Let the romance begin. Thank you. Thank you, Dimitri. And then there is Roosevelt, Zethian, Oates III, Esquire, Jr. He is a good kid. What, Eddie? What are you doing? I don't know. When you introduce us all, we all kind of react. Zeth just sits there. No emotion. Just sits there. Doesn't even look at you.
Looks at his computer. Did you know, Eddie, this is neither here nor there, but did you know that I had to talk to Seth about, hey, bro, when I write you an email, will you write me back? I think I could have been like that at one point, like where you get it and you're like, well, I'm good. I read it. And it's almost like when they tell you to respond to it, it's almost like a surprise. Like, oh, yeah, I better do that, huh? Is that the deal, Zach? Yeah. I like that. But then Eddie told me I can't do that. He's right. How long with that beard, you think? Oh, I was just thinking that. Why, you guys aren't good with a beard? It's getting ridiculous. Like, if you look at them at this angle in the light, it's like pieces here, there. Long. It is long. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call. Still hasn't even said a word yet. No. He's got a smile. Just as kind of a smirk. I'm working on saving Eddie's life here. What are you doing? What are you doing, Zethian? Looking up the finger thing. There you go. He's figuring out how to fix it. Eddie's finger? You googled Eddie's finger. Fingerpedia. 570-1053 is our phone number.
And our text number is 35253. Are you ready, Eddie? For what? For the armchair doctors. I don't know. Please, people. Please. They may have good advice. They don't know what's going on. Maybe they do. I don't even know what it is. I don't know. I kind of made it up. That was good. I totally got it. It means, you know, like, I'm going to tell you what I think is wrong. Oh. Fine. You know it's going to be scary stuff. An armchair doctor's not going to call you and say nothing's wrong. He's got to diagnose, otherwise he can't keep his PhD. I have a whole lobster growing in my finger. That's right. It's going to come out, claws open. Exactly. Nathan, are you there? Yeah, how's it going? Good. So what's up with Eddie? Sometimes when you get, like, you can touch coral in the ocean, if a little piece breaks off in your skin, you can actually grow in your skin, or you can get a staph infection from it. It's pretty easy to get.
All right, so there's one for staph infection. And one for coral reef. One for coral reef. Full coral reef. Definitely get some antibiotics for it. Yes, definitely add some fish to that coral reef. I'm not saying anything he's saying is wrong. I'm just saying we don't know, you know. He's offering a suggestion. We don't know anything. We don't know. What do we know around here? P1JC. I agree with the last customer. All right. traveling over the years to and from the tropics. If you have sea urchin in your skin, actually, as every day goes on, it can embed deeper and deeper. That's the way the barb is actually set up to push itself deeper and deeper into your skin. What if he doesn't have coral in there, though? Well, I'm saying if it was urchin. If it's coral, it definitely can grow in your skin, and you can easily get a staph infection from the tiniest of little scrapes from coral or anything like that. Wow, Seth just gave Eddie a look that said, oh, there you go, you're dead. Nice knowing you. Yes, that look said, nice knowing you. I accept it. No, he'll get antibiotics. I doubt they'll even touch it unless they look in there and see if there's a little something in there.
You should get it checked out. I had a small little scrape in the knee from Tahiti one time. We're talking like pin-sized scrape. And just from the flight home to the house, which is about an eight-hour flight, my knees swole up like a baseball and turned pussy and green. Gross. Oh, yeah, it's serious stuff. As my mom would say, yucky doodle. All right, thanks, guys. Thank you very much. P1 Paparazzi is on that side. Oh, my God. Oh my gosh, no. Not now, Mike. I don't think we can handle it right now, Mike. Michael. That stung. Hey. That stung like a sea urchin in my skin, that look Eddie gave me right now. That's like growing coral in your bowels. You know better than this, Mike. Well, paparazzi, Eddie's not necessarily a big fan of paparazzi, but I've always said, you know, I appreciate him. I think he has good...
Okay, but this is about Eddie right now. So the last thing that he needs is paparazzi. I don't even want to hear his voice right now. I'm not kidding. Well, Eddie has an issue too. Paparazzi wrote an email to all of us and Eddie was, oh man, he was not a fan of the email. No? Uh-uh. But more on that in a minute. Paparazzi, what are you calling about? I just had a theory on what's wrong with Eddie. What do you think it is? I think he's becoming a member of the Fantastic Four. How's that? Oh, Eddie pushed the mic away. Eddie pushed the mic away. Go ahead. How's that? Yeah, could be. Well, his finger's starting to swell up. Next thing you know, his whole body's got to swell up. He's going to turn into the, uh, I can't even think of the character's name, the big rock dude. Oh, Eddie's got to look like, well, then what? He doesn't even know his name, you know? Like, you call up and you don't even know the thing. The thing is his name. But, uh, Eddie, Eddie was upset at paparazzi because paparazzi wrote us all.
had an issue that he wanted to have clarified. And the issue was... Listen to the wording of this. It was a monkey business clarification. Paparazzi, I just got it because my emails... There's an issue with my email. I'm now answering your emails. Yeah, Eddie's pretty much doing it. But anyway, so we got this... Eddie forwarded it to me and Eddie put, are you kidding me with this guy? And it says, this is... Paparazzi's email. Is it cool to read your email, paparazzi? It says Mikey, or it doesn't say Mikey. It says, at one point, Mikey was stating that the gas monkey would be giving away free gas to those with the new Mikey show bumper sticker. In later announcements, he wasn't specifying new bumper sticker. B-Rob told me a few days back that it's new bumper stickers only.
Isn't the idea of doing the gas monkey to reward your longtime listeners and to get more advertising out there as more listeners will start sticking bumper stickers on their car for the chance to get free gas? I, for example, have the sticker from the first sticker strike on my car as I liked the design of that sticker more than the newer one. So does that mean? I would not have the opportunity simply because I don't have the latest Mikey Show sticker. Can you clarify this, P1 paparazzi? And yes, I can. I got to start from the beginning. His first question is, isn't the idea of doing the gas monkey to reward your longtime listeners and to get more advertisement out there? And the answer to that is no. The idea of the gas monkey is not to reward new listeners. That is not to say that I don't care about new listeners or old listeners because I do. I do care about longtime listeners. But in fact, the idea of the gas monkey is twofold. First and foremost, it is to get the new sticker on cars. That's the motivation to put the new sticker on your car. The motivation is if I put the new sticker on my car, I'll get some free gas.
So, in fact, that is the reason that we're doing the Gas Monkey. The second reason that we're doing the Gas Monkey is because gas costs a lot and we'd like to give people some free gas. In terms of you liking the old sticker more, I say to you congratulations. You know, it's certainly in the eye of the beholder. Most people that I've talked to, including my own personal opinion, We like the new one a lot more. Most listeners really seem to have a preference towards the new sticker over the old sticker. And so I'm not really sure. I was having a hard time getting where he was coming from. Like it was sort of like, hey, Mikey, shouldn't all stickers be able to be pulled over? Why are you screwing me over because I have the old sticker? Right. It sounds like to me like he's trying to. He's trying to bend the rules, like, for him only, and I don't think that that's fair. Well, paparazzi, there's a super easy fix. It's just get the new sticker and put it on your car. Yeah, just put the new sticker on your car, brother. Well, paparazzi, this begs the question, why would you be...
asking for clarification. If you don't drive a vehicle with a sticker on it to begin with, then we only do the promotion in the morning. The guy that's all he wants. Now, see, this thought did come to me, paparazzi, which is that sometimes any attention is good attention, meaning that even if it's negative attention, it's attention. And I will tell you this, paparazzi, you have my personal email address, right? Yes, you have my personal email address. In the future, instead of hitting up Eddie and instead of hitting up Sky and hitting everybody up, and if you're feeling that sort of like, hey, I want some attention or whatever, write me. Just write to me. You know I'm going to treat you kindly, and you don't even have to go to that extreme of a question that doesn't... matter to you. You know, you could just write me, brother. No one else brought up the question, though. You know, if anybody else had that question, they'd reach out to us. How would an email accomplish notifying everyone? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I think we know what it's about, and that's cool, man. You can just write me paparazzi and consider me a friend, and I think you're a good guy. All right, brother. All right. We'll see you.
Eddie's deciding he's checking out. Well, you know, hey, listen. You didn't enjoy that? Oh, Sean. You know, I got to put my old headset back on. Yeah. They sound great, but they're falling out of my ears already. Oh, for goodness sake. Now your headphones fall apart. This is 2008, man. Is it really? Are you sure? I just don't. Get it. Every time I come into the studio every morning, I feel like it's like back to the future. Like I go back in time. It's like 1979. That's what I feel like too. Exactly the same. I totally need relate. All right. So let me fully unpack the Brad situation. Some people, they, they, uh, some people, they, they would like to have attention, whether or not it's good or bad. And.
The way that I want to see that is, well, a guy's got a need. And so I want to supply the need with it. Some people, that is to say, Eddie and Sky and Ash and everybody else, they don't need it. They got other stuff going on in their lives. I feel like it's kind of enabling his disorder. Let me further explain. Let me further explain, Eddie. What I won't do is... What I won't do is ignore the need. Treat it then. When I reach out to him, I will answer the questions, state that I think I recognize what's really going on, and then I'll have some dialogue with him about it. Because overall, I think that the old... Pappy Ratsy is an alright guy, but he's got it going the wrong directions. Sometimes it goes in the wrong directions, but he'll get it figured out. He's alright. I'll figure that little rascal out. P1 Michael. Michael, are you there? Yeah, what's up, man? Hey, this is what I believe happened to Eddie. Coral is not the cleanest thing in the world, and he probably had a very small piece in his finger.
And I have something very similar on my thumb right now, but it's from a piece of lagging wood, which is a treated wood. And I dug it out. I went to do surgery, and I dug it out. And no matter how sanitary you want to be with whatever instrument you're going to use to try to dig it out, he probably, as he dug it out, it bled a little. Well, the little piece popped out, but what he's done is he's created an infection. And now what he's got to do is... Well, hang on a second. Yeah. I've done a million finger surgeries on myself where there's blood involved. Well, it doesn't necessarily happen all the time. But, I mean, I have one on my finger right now that was just from a very small piece of wood that I never found. Yeah. And I'm going to the doc today. They're going to give me five days of antibiotics, and they're going to lance it to make sure that there's nothing in there. I know a guy named Lance. Yeah, Lance Bass. Yeah. Because it's becoming hard and getting bigger. All right. But, you know, it doesn't matter how. how clean you get stuff. You know, there's a lot of times little pieces of bacteria or whatever are going to get in there. And I get these things all the time because I work my particular trade. We work around a lot of treated wood. Yeah. And you get these little, I mean, very small sliver. Thank you. You don't see it. All right. The body pushes it out itself. Okay. Thank you very much for the call. He's got to go to the doctor. I think he should too. I'm not going to. Oh, come on. I have to be on antibiotics in Denver. I've got to drink.
Oh, my gosh. I didn't even think of that. That is your total motivation. Absolutely. Can you not drink on antibiotics? No. Says who? The doctors? The doctor. Yeah, you can't. Eddie, here is the text tally on what is wrong with you. Come on. Nice. 35253 is our text number. Eddie, they're healthy. Yes. Text tally is. No. Uh. Staph infection definitely leading the text tally. We have four votes on text for staph. Three votes for coral reef growing in your thumb. Index finger. One for cellulitis and one for finger loss. So there it is. That is the tally. I don't need this one anyway. That is the text tally. You can just point at stuff with your other hand. There you go. No, not that finger. That will confuse people. Now, we got a show for you today. Wowza. I know it, man. We got a lot of stuff to get to. Let's see. First of all, call us, 570-1053. Text us, 35253. The Joker contest is tomorrow. Don't forget about that. So this new movie, The Dark Knight, you know how the Joker looks really different. Heath Ledger's version of the Joker is so different. That's what we're looking for. Dress up like him. The person that looks the most like.
The Joker from the new Dark Knight movie is going to win an Xbox 360 limited edition Dark Knight. That's amazing. That's pretty awesome. Unbelievable. Sick. And what time should people be down here tomorrow? I got an email and I didn't know what to tell them. 7 a.m. 7 a.m. Is that right, Eddie? Yep. 7 a.m. here at the station, 9660 Granite Ridge Drive. And we want people to come down and watch. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah. Well, that's who's going to decide who wins. All the P1s that come down and check it out are going to be the ones that win, are going to be the ones that applaud, say, yeah, they're going to decide who wins. Also, don't forget, a week from yesterday, meaning this coming up Monday, is going to be the beginning of the gas monkey. Yes. Oh. That funky monkey. That's right, that funky monkey. It's going to be Boston Rob is the gas monkey. We're going to send him out. in the Rock 105.3 van, and he's looking for the new stickers. Did you know that if you slowed down just a little, you'd get better mileage? It's true. If you drove 55 mph on the highway instead of 65 mph, you could go about 30 to 60 more miles on a tank of gas. It's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. You know, slow and steady wins the race. And that also applies to city driving. When you're stopped at a traffic light and it turns green, avoid the jackrabbit start. Don't punch the gas. It's not a race. Just... Accelerate smoothly and gradually. And let's face it, you'll catch up to those other cars at the next light anyway. So remember, a heavy foot equals a light gas tank. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. Amy Winehouse was released from the hospital this morning after being taken in yesterday for a, quote, reaction to medication. Big boy's back. Chris Young returns tonight from the DL. P1 Nicole is on the line. Hi, Nicole. Hi, Mikey. How you doing? I'm doing all right. It's kind of, uh, Eddie's going to get upset with this, but I didn't understand what the big deal was about P1 paparazzi calling in. And trying to clarify that one point because I'm a new P1 as well. Oh, I can explain it then. It doesn't make any sense. I'm like, dude, it's a big deal. I can explain. I can explain. Explain it. There is a long history between paparazzi and Eddie. He's my arch enemy. Yes. Where paparazzi has, you know, we've been on the air for many, many years. And over the years, paparazzi has.
sort of invaded his space. He does very inappropriate things like show up to things that he's not supposed to be at, including our building. He's taken IMs off of our computers. Yeah, he eavesdropped on an IM conversation I had one time and then got my IM name and started to IM me, which was kind of uncomfortable. Calls every single... He had our secret line for a while and called that when he would want to call into the show. We had to tell him to stop doing that. Now, as a new P1, you're just learning some of this stuff. But what the point of this deal was is that we want to get the new sticker on people's cars. And I don't think that that was what Brad's real issue is. I think that he just wants... He wants to reach out, but he doesn't know how to do it in a way that is appropriate. And some people, that is their deal. Because an appropriate email regarding that would be like, hey, do I have to have the new sticker or is the old one okay? That's appropriate. But to go on about, I thought you valued your old-time listeners, which implies that we don't. So that's the difference to me. Here's my personal thought on it.
He doesn't even have, he doesn't even drive. It's all a moot point for him because he doesn't drive a car that this is so, I don't even think that that's really the issue. If you were hearing what he's really saying inside, it's like, hey guys, I want to have interaction with you, but I don't know how. And so I'll do it any way I know how, which is. I'll evoke a feeling from you, and in this case, anger. I'll get anger from you, but at least I'll have some sort of interaction with you, and I'll take that overnight because he doesn't really know how to just write and go, hey, guys, what's up? What have you guys been up to? He's not good with those kinds of words, but I'd like to help him out, and maybe he will. Maybe he'll get to that point, but I think that that is the bigger issue. Very true. With what's going on with them, Nicole. It's you. I have a quick, real quick. I didn't tell B-Rob this, sorry. It's all right. I wanted to tell you that I am a new P1, and I went on your website, and I was reading your bio. Mm-hmm.
And I had a dream about you. Whoa. What was it? CPR. CPR. CPR. Now, for new listeners to the show, whenever you hear anybody on the show chanting CPR, that means kiss, kiss, kiss. And so that's what that was all about. What was the dream? I had a dream that you were speaking in front of... thousands and thousands and thousands of people. And it wasn't like a show. It could have been for church or something like that. But I saw you talking to or speaking in front of all these people. Sean had something similar to that. Sean had something similar to that. Did you see that? I was talking to my friend and she gets prophetic prophetic dreams. And she says that Things like that really do, if you've heard that before, that it's a confirmation. I thought that was really, really cool. Wasn't the reason that I called in, but I thought I was just a weirdo. That's interesting. Where are you from?
New York. Yeah, I can hear it. Are you from New York City, New York? I'm from Manhattan. I'm from Manhattan. There you go. Yeah, so I just thought that was really cool, and I really think that you have a big ministry ahead of you. Hey, what was your favorite place to eat in Manhattan? Raw. Oh, we got a place called that here. Isn't that all raw food? It's not all raw, but it's pretty rare. You know what I mean? Yeah. It's really, really good. Would you ever go there, Eddie? Yeah. You would do it, right? Oh, yeah, for sure. Skye would not do it. No, no. Skye would not do it ever in a million years. Hey, have you ever eaten at this nice Italian joint in Times Square called Olive Garden? Oh, it's beautiful. You go there, you're like family. Oh, wow. That sounds right.
The breadsticks. Oh, forget them all. Seven times square, huh? Can't miss it. It's one of those hidden gems in New York. Diamond in the rough. You kind of got to know somebody that knows about the place to take you there. A nice green neon sign. That's right. It's delicious. About 100 feet tall. It's great. The Lippies in San Diego is the closest thing in Little Italy. Uh-huh. I love going there. Cause it's so, I love it. Cause it reminds me of back home. Like, where are you going? What brought you out? What brought you out to San Diego? Um, work actually. I work for an engineering firm. So there you go. Very cool. All right. Well, thank you, Nicole. I appreciate the phone call. Thank you, Mikey. There you go. That's P1, Nicole. So, uh, these are the things that are happening in my life. Uh, Rebecca found a tarantula on our front porch last night. The real one? They are. And we've been getting all these emails from all the people in the neighborhood that have been finding and seeing tarantulas. It's the same one. I know. Check the wallet. Tarantulas. Tarantula. But yeah, everybody in the neighborhood. Oh my God. But they're not dangerous. That's the thing about tarantulas is that they're, in general, they're not like they don't bite you. They're not, you know, a dangerous thing. But my wife thinks that they'll eat.
Jake Hole. You know, and so she put a bucket over it. And, you know, it's just that she's leaving it there. She's afraid. Still there right now. Yeah. You know, but and then did I tell you guys that Rebecca was convinced she might have West Nile virus? Let me tell you about this one. Well, she got these two little bumps on her leg and we don't know what they are. We don't know if it's mosquito. It looks like mosquitoes, but who knows, you know. And she's watching the news and she sees that there was going to be a jazz festival in Carlsbad and that they had to call off the jazz festival because a couple of dead birds turned up with West Nile. So she says, you know, that's North County. We're in North County, too. And those mosquitoes. And I got these bumps here. And what if I have the West Nile virus? Well, does she have any symptoms? No. But yesterday she said she wasn't feeling good. She was feeling sick. And I said, well. Maybe you should go to the doctor. She says, no, I'm going to take a nap. So those are two things that are going on in my life. Tarantula and my West Nile wife. She's like the Amazon over there. I know it. She's like Dr. Doolittle with rattlesnakes and tarantulas. And then her and I are having some decoration disagreements. Since when did you get a say in decorating? I know it. I think I should. I think I'm kind of good at it.
I mean, listen, I'm nowhere near as good at it as she is. Well, there you go. No doubt about it. For me, it's just a matter of opinion. I just look at what her suggestions are and in some situations go, that doesn't make me, is this my wife calling in? I got my wife on one. Uh-oh, that was quick. Hello, my darling. What are you calling about? Well, a lot of things. At first, I was like, no, let that one go. No, let that... Okay, I'm calling. Yeah, I love it. I love it. But listen, I'm not... I haven't said anything... Oh, no, I realize. My first bone to pick is with Sean. Ah. Get it. Who is chiming in the background about Wes now. Oh. Hmm. Really? Well, you don't have any symptoms. Well, you know what? It doesn't matter. You're the one that goes to the doctor to get checked for AIDS when somebody shakes your hand. That's a good point. That's true. That's not what happened, though. And you didn't have any symptoms either, Sean. Pretty much. Well, excuse me, with AIDS, you don't have symptoms right away. Okay, so, and point proven, hon. Thank you. They take a long time to develop, so. So, Rebecca got you on that one. We'll go ahead and put that on the board. Yep. So, then the other thing, the tarantula.
I mean, first of all, a rattlesnake and a tarantula in the same week. What the heck? Yeah, she saw a rattlesnake last week. I mean, really? Like, I don't want to live here. Well, listen, babe. I don't want to live here. Hang on a minute. Now, first of all, the rattlesnake is like a legitimate concern. I mean, those are scary, and you saw it, and I don't blame you for being freaked out about that one. Tarantula? fight, babe. Well, first of all, tarantulas. I prefer to call them tarantulas. Remember, because on Who's the Boss? That was the son's, you know, that was her name. That was the blonde lady in the house. Tarantula! No, but tarantulas, hun, they generally, they're not like snakes in that they attack, you know, when you walk near them. Lori was here last night. Unfortunately, because Lori saved my life. Okay. You see what I'm saying? Do you see what I'm saying? No, I'm serious. And Jake's life. Jake was asleep in his crib, by the way. You never know. Yeah, you never know. And she said that she has seen a tarantula before and that her dad was antagonizing it. Well, yeah, if he's antagonizing it. Okay, so.
I think it's the same with the snake. You think that if Jake happens to stumble upon a tarantula and I'm, for some reason, not looking and don't know what's going on, and he reaches down to grab it, you don't think that it's being antagonized? Yes, I do. Okay, so... But, babe, I've been making this point... Hang on a minute. I've been making this point with you since before the summer started. But a lot of times, I think, like... This is what the husband does. This is what her husband does for a living. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Okay? That's what he does for his job. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And so when I come home, a lot of times when the husband is saying stuff, this is what it is. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And this is the other thing she knows about her husband.
He's blah, blah, blahing about stuff. He freaks out about everything. My husband. This is my wife talking. He freaks out about everything. He got me bear spray because he read that coyotes are getting kids. That is true. So he overreacts about everything. But one of the things that I've been saying is, babe, follow him around everywhere in the backyard because there's snakes. I haven't mentioned tarantulas. I said there's snakes. I do. I mean, it's not... Well, then why are we worried about the tarantulas taking him back to their nest and turning him into Frodo from the... You know? He does have the ring. I mean, he's quick and he's little and he's close to the ground. It's impossible, dude, for her to every second. Okay, but it's the same deal with snakes or whatever, you know? And I always scan the backyard and make sure that, you know, I don't see anything creepy. But I just, I don't know what to do. I do. I need to move. I have a great idea. Go ahead, Ashley. Rebecca, you should get one of those, like, insect books and every day read it to Jake and teach him. Go, that's a tarantula. And, like, get him to recognize what it is and go, stay away from that. Don't touch that. That's going to hurt you. And then Jake will, like, no. Print a picture of it.
And, you know, you know what I mean? Yeah. And then when he's, maybe if he happens to see one before you do, he'll be like, mommy, tarantula, as opposed to being like, ooh, let me poke its eye. Yeah. That's true, and that's a really good idea. You know who's on the line here is Talon, and Talon usually knows a lot about snakes and spiders and stuff like that. Go ahead, Talon. Hey, guys, how you doing? Good. Yeah, tarantulas, their bite is pretty harmless, but... They have these hairs on their back that they sort of shoot at you. Even that's harmless, but it's kind of an irritant. They warn you to keep away. Yeah, so they're not real bad news, right, Taylor? I didn't think they were. I'm not sure why, because I don't know why anything that looks like that, I don't, it's just... Yeah, they are, they are, you know... Home alone, it's a pet. You know, they have like a pet tarantula. Well, there it is. If they can be a pet, then it's safe. Here's what Wikipedia says on defense. I'm reading about tarantulas. It says, besides the normal hairs covering the body of tarantulas, some also have a defense covering of irritating hairs called articulating hairs on the something, big word. That they sometimes use.
As a protection against enemies, these hairs are presented on new world species, but not specimens from the old world. These fine hairs are barbed and designed to irritate. They can be lethal to small animals like rodents. Some people are extremely sensitive to these hairs and develop serious itching and rashes at the sight. So, I don't know. I'll read some more about it, babe. But I actually think that what Ashley is suggesting isn't a bad idea. think that's a great idea but here's my other thing um like out of all of you that are sitting in there how many have you how many of you have seen you know a tarantula like just like randomly outside me i have sky has yeah i had one at my last house okay well i don't I don't know. Well, you just messed up her whole plan, Skye. No, no, no. She was going to say, exactly. So then you leave me alone. No, it was a crazy, scary, creepy thing. What I was going to say is that not very many people encounter them. And we have had six in our neighborhood in the last month. Something's going on. There's a nest.
Yeah, I'm serious. I am too. Did you guys get a shipment of an old artifact from Africa or something? I know. Because I've seen a documentary about that. And then they crawl out. We just ordered a mummy on Amazon. I think it's called arachnophobia. You should watch it. It may help. I think it's the same thing as the snakes. The fires, I think, displaced a bunch of animals. That's possible. Well, and you live right next to their natural habitat. I mean, yeah, they're going to wander out. And they're getting pushed because of those fires, you know. And construction. Construction. Yep. All of that stuff. Yepers. I have a question. I wonder if we, if you have a pest control, which we do, will that help in any way? For sure. They can spray for spiders. Can they? Absolutely. And I think they warranty, you know, you get like a warranty. So if you ever have anything, you just call them and go, dude, there was a tarantula on my front porch. Yeah, babe. I want my money back then. No, no, no. We use Spot. They're called Spot Pest Control. They'll spray for that. They'll probably come out and they'll do us up good and proper. Well, right now it's under a bucket. Still? Yeah, she's got in a bucket. Now, wait a minute. Now, let me tell you what I saw. Let me tell you what I saw when I was leaving for work this morning, though. What? Before I...
Before I go out into the garage, in our hallway is a bucket with a can of Raid in it. And I'm like, so what was that all about? I think what we have is a dead tarantula. No, we didn't use it. You didn't use it? No. Okay. You just had it as like a gun. Just in case. Yeah. You had it just in case it like stood up on all of its legs and boxed you. Pushed the bucket off. They jump. Right. Yeah, they can. Yeah, they jump. I didn't know that. They fly, I think, too. They do. No. Yeah, I heard they grow wings. And they do that. P1 Maiden, are you there? Hey, brother. What's up, dude? Hey, Rebecca, it's going to be fine. You will survive this. I lived in Alpine when I was a kid and ran into a couple scorpions and stuff. But wait until your child decides that hunting bees with a jar is the thing to do. Ay, ay, ay. Oh, my God. Yeah. It's Mikey. You will make it through this. You're doing an incredible job with all you do with your son. It's awesome. I love hearing your stories because I have three sons. It's her, dude. Please don't even mention my name. Well, and the other thing is, is in our neighborhood, they've seen scorpions. Oh, I know. Now, that is scary. That is scary. That's fatal. It is. They got everything out there. So, anyway, thank you for the call. I appreciate it, P1. There you go. So, now, we do. We have Lori and I. Okay. So, Lori's hanging over the wall with a bucket. I'm holding onto her leg. She doesn't fall in. Are you kidding me? No, and then we capture it, and there's, like, these little tiny spaces around the bottom of the bucket. Yeah. So we go out and get tape, and we are sealing the bucket down to the concrete. That is awesome. So that it can't escape. We were armed with a yardstick and a bottle of Raid. Can you believe these guys? Oh, my gosh. It's going on at, like, 1230 a.m. I know it. What a visual. Oh. Love it. She's unbelievable. Sky just sent me the funniest picture I've ever seen in my life. What? It's a puppet tarantula. Yeah. And it is the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life. I'm going to get one for Rebecca. Yeah, it's like the size of a toddler. Yeah. And in the picture, it's like a little girl with it, like attacking her, and she's pretending to be attacked. She's pretending to be scared. She's like, ah. Yeah, it's going to be okay, honey.
So I think I'm going to ask the neighbor if, because he had one on his porch, and he simply said that he, quote, relocated it. Yeah, better him than me. Call Jeff. He's big. He has mirrors. He's big. And so he gets into the ring with this burly guy. And this burly guy, he looks like kind of Mexican with a short haircut. And he's tan and bobbed. He just got out of the joint. Ripped. Blunder gets in there.
He's like, he looks like he's been kept in a closet for eight years. Very bad. Yeah, his skin is almost translucent. He still looks like this. White and big. And, like, he's so fair-complected. Like, the hair on his back is red. You know, I mean. The Mikey Show continues. Rock 105.3. Old American Boy. 727. A new study from UCSD shows that deaths from drug misuse is on the rise. Yeah, he's clean now and signed with the Giants, so he's got a second chance and hopefully he'll be okay. That's good. Welcome back to the show. Hey, I have an update for you. Oh, yeah? Oh.
Yeah, remember last week we were talking, we had gotten an email from a guy that was going to have to be speaking in front of a bunch of people and he was freaked out about it. Oh yeah, the wedding dude? The wedding guy. Yeah, he's the best man in the wedding and he had to be giving a speech and he was totally freaked out about it. Well, we got an email from him and I wanted to read it to you guys because there's a little bit of an update on his situation. Oh, cool. And what's going on with him? And so he says, Mikey, I was the guy that wrote you last week about having to give a best man speech at my buddy's wedding. He says, well, I wanted to let you know what happened. It didn't go so good. No, but we gave him great advice. We gave him good advice. The note card with the bullet points. Yeah, just the bullet points. Go off that. He said a little buzz, but not drunk. He says, I tried to remember all the advice you guys gave me, but it didn't matter. Oh, no. I only had one drink, as Skye suggested before the speech, just to loosen me up. When the time came, I instantly burst into a cold sweat. Never a good time. I felt every eye in the room upon me. Well, it's because they were. Well, yeah.
Of course they were. He says, I started off with a joke about me and the groom that fell flat. It's over. It's hard to recover from that. From that point on, it was a struggle. At one point, my voice cracked. I wanted to die. Can you imagine you're getting up there and you're like... You turn into Casey from Tim and Eric. That's so funny. It's awful. He says, I could tell everyone was as uncomfortable as me. Oh, I want to rescue him. When you feel the uncomfortableness, oh, that's brutal. The air in the room just gets sucked out. It's the worst. I had about another page of bullet points I was going to get to, but just panicked and wrapped it up. Aw, poor guy. He says, it was bad, real bad. Anyway, thanks again for all the advice last week. I wish it would have helped. It's P1 Jimbo. That is brutal. You're up there and you're doing the deal and you can tell how uncomfortable everyone else is. When you're uncomfortable and you're looking out there and people are shifting in their seats.
And they don't know what to do with themselves because of how you're doing. Like, you have to stop. There's silence. And you go to get a drink of water with all the speech and put it back down. Now, how do you guys react when you're that audience member? Because I'm the one who always tries to, like, overcompensate and feel like I'm helping the person. Like, big smiles. And, like, it's okay. What do you guys do? Just sit there and laugh? In my head, you guys know me, I sort of enjoy uncomfortable moments because they're so unpredictable. I wonder where is this going to go? What will happen next? And I'm sort of compelled. by the uncomfortableness of it. So you just kick back and enjoy. Yeah, I just kind of enjoy the show. I say, man, no matter what, this ticket is going to work out. It was worth it. Yeah. Skye wanted to know what the decoration disagreements were at my house. Oh, yeah. I want to hear. We are having some decoration disagreements, and if my wife wants a call back, she's more than welcome to. I would love her to.
She likes, she wants to color the room, paint the room silver. Nice. What room are we discussing? Bedroom. Your bedroom. It's huge. Love it already. I love color, man. Yeah, yeah. I love color. I totally do. I'm just not down with silver. You like it? This sounds a little strange. You like it? Don't you have like light blue curtains? Eddie, let me tell you what my problem is. Is it dark or light silver? Well, she has those little paint. samples up on the wall so you can go anywhere in the spectrum. But the reason that I'm out on it is because it's a cold color and I want warmth. It depends. What's the color scheme of your room? Tell you. She's got that light blue. You see this color that's inside? She's got this light. Perfect. Dude. Oh, it works. Yeah, Eddie's wedding colors were silver and blue. No doubt about it. I mean, it's like, you know. No doubt about it, it works. And then to offset that blue, she's got this like a cocoa brown all over her. Perfect. It works. I can't think of a better room. Right? Eddie, I know what you're doing. I see what you're doing. You're messing with me. No, really, that is the exact colors I went with my dining room. Yeah.
Really? Yeah, and I have an accent wall that's a little bit darker than the silver. It just pops, man. Hey, she has a picture, Eddie, and it's of a dining room. It looks beautiful. It's cool. My issue with it is I have different deals with colors. Some colors, to me, make me feel very welcome, cozy, at home, whatever. That is a cold color to me. It doesn't make me feel cozy. It doesn't make me feel warm. It makes me feel the opposite. It's a cold color. Give it a chance. So what would you suggest? Thank you. I told her that I said, look, our comforter is a very rich, darkish brown. And the throw blanket that's on there is a lighter cocoa brown. Okay. I said, babe, can't we go with anything in this spectrum? I said, let's take some milk and pour it into all these colors. Oh, here we go. I love it. Light them up, Rebecca. Yeah, that's too dark. That's what she said. It's too dark. Yeah, you can't paint a whole room brown like that. Too dark. That's my wife. Hello, my darling. Hi, hon. How are you? Oh, Rebecca, I love your idea. Really good.
Rebecca, you get it. Wait, she can't be... You're not upset with me, honey. I'm just telling about our feelings about... Yeah. Yeah, because I'm not busting on anybody. I'm just telling the difference between our... Rebecca, you've got to see our new dining room. That's exact... Those are the exact colors we went with. I think we should take a vote. Oh, my goodness. I support that. I agree. I agree with this. This is America. Here we go. I vote silver. I vote that we take a vote as well, and I say that the people that should vote are the people that live there. I think that everybody there in that room should vote. I agree. Well, you know they love your idea, honey. Not everyone. Oh, Sean. Sean doesn't love it. Okay, that's all right. That's fair. Sean, why don't you love it? For the very same reasons that you do, silver to me is like, it's really cold and sterile. Not invited. Two against. Who's four? That is the right word. And it's not like she wants to panel the room in stainless steel. It's not shiny. Silver implies that it's shiny or glimmery. Is it like a gray overtone? You guys are misunderstanding me. Somehow this has computed like I think it's ugly or something. It works. It's right. You'll like it.
I don't like it. It's cold. It is not cold. What do we got working on the windows? The light blue, the baby blue window treatments. Remember Mike was complaining about those? It's not baby blue. It's like a teal blue. It's a great blue. Man, that is warm. Yeah. I think I made you take my jacket off just thinking about it. She told me last year, no, two years ago, about two years ago, she says, if you don't like this in a year, we'll change it. Okay. Two years have gone by. Do you like it? You love it. I would like it to change. I want it different. Okay, what do you want the curtain? So we want brown walls, and what do we want our curtains for? Black. You know the colors of our room? Like the blue and the dark brown? Do you know what color he told me you wanted for the wall?
Like a burnt orange. Oh, no, no, no. No, I didn't. That's not true. I can't believe you said that. Why would you say that? No, that's not true. That's not true. What I did was is in the bathroom, she has this picture. Picture. And in the picture, it's got some burnt orange. And I said to her, you see this color? I love this color. I said, this color makes me feel warm, blah, blah, blah. She is now taking it to the next level and implying that I said that's what I want to do in our room. That's what it sounds like to me, Mike. No, I don't want to do that. So is really the issue that you just want the whole room changed? Yeah. You're kind of over it. Yeah. Well, then I can understand that. I do. Because you've never really been a fan of the room as great as it is. Thank you. I see that. I think our room is probably my favorite room in the whole house. No, it's gorgeous. It is. I agree. Just don't like it. I agree. It's beautiful. I just don't care for it. It's not my thing. But I think it looks like it could be in a magazine. Yeah. Oh, definitely. Yeah. And I would look in that and I go, I would look at it in the magazine. I go, oh, man, that is really nice. Glad we don't have that. And then I turn the page, you know, and I find a difference. Not for me. Not for me. And then I turn the page to see another room that maybe is a little warmer. I go, gosh, we had. Yeah. Well, that's how I feel about your office. So, you know, we don't have a room like that. There you go.
So I just, you know. So you start sleeping in the office. Exactly. And it's problem solved. Exactly. But I told her, all right, I tell you what, babe, let's have a compromise. Can we do this? Can we have a compromise? We can leave it the same. No, no, no, no. Come on. Can we try a compromise right here on the air? We'll actually do family stuff right here on the air. Can we do that? You can propose a compromise. Here is my proposed compromise. Okay. I propose that you do our bedroom exactly how you want it with whatever silver you pick and you do it exactly how you want it. Okay. And then what I would like is either to do the living room or the kitchen in a color that you let me do. Whoa. No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. And I'll even give some on that. I'll even give some on that. I'll even give some on that. Everything's going to be orange. No, no, no. She gets to pick. She gets to pick what it is. She gets to pick what it is as long as it's color. You get to pick it, but as long as it's color. Like in your palette of this makes me happy. Yeah, just something warm. You can do it. I don't care what it is. As long as it isn't something cold, you can do it. You got it. And I get to pick one? Nice.
That's what I thought we just talked about. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you'll come up with some options and you'll go, okay, cool. We're good to go. We're good to go. All right, I love you. I love you. That was cool. That was fine with me. I got no issues with that. Hey, man, listen. When Eddie was talking about getting the house and he was doing the colors, man, that's what I've wanted. I've wanted color. Got to do an accent wall. Yeah, man. Color makes me stoked. It makes me feel at home and safe and all that stuff. I was telling practically a complete stranger my issues about safety the other day. And I thought to myself halfway through, I go, dude, you don't have to talk all the time. What's up with you with the talking and revealing and everything? Let's see. So 570-1053 is our phone number. 35253 is our text number. And you can hit us up on that stuff anytime you want to. Ryan Seacrest was talking about shark attacks on his show yesterday. About the shark attack that we had here? Or what was he talking about, Skye? About how over the weekend he was bitten by a shark. What? What? Wait. What? How dare you?
How dare you? He was talking about how he was bitten by a shark? Yes, he was. Is that the truth? Yes. No, come on. He says over the weekend, he was swimming out in the ocean in Los Angeles. His name was Brad. Oh, wow. He's a card shark. He says he was about eight feet out. Why do you lie, liar? That's the most out he's been all year long. So he was about eight feet out and the water was about four feet deep, he said. And all of a sudden he saw something going by and he thought it was just like a stick or something. And then he felt something. The sharks are in the shape of a stick. Yeah. And then he felt something on his foot that like hurt. And then he saw the stick like quickly swim away. And at that point, he knew it wasn't a stick, and he, you know, went into the shore. And I guess the little shark came up and took a bite out of his foot and swam away. And a tooth, a shark tooth, was still embedded in his foot when he got out of the water.
Is there any photographic evidence of this? Is there anything like that? No, not that I've seen. Just his account of the story. But it sounds like it was a pretty small shark. Do you guys think that this is a radio publicity stunt? Or do you think that he really got bit by a shark? I want to see the tooth. And I want to see his injuries. Oh, he says he saved the tooth. Yeah. I mean, come on. Is that for real? Eddie, do you think maybe you did? What are your thoughts? Well, I think if the shark would have been into his foot, then fruit juice would have came out. No. Wow. People would have noticed that. Wow. Yeah, wait a second. So, well, anyway, if we find any photographic evidence, then we'll pass it on to you. Sean says we have a poll up.
on the Mikey Show website for people that want to take a guess as to what is wrong with Eddie's finger. Oh, I don't need this. Now, here's the deal. And you can either click on staph infection, coral is growing in his finger, cellulitis, or finger amputation. So just go to MikeyShow.com right now. Is this appropriate? And take your guess. Okay, first of all, that check engine light on in your car, Amco, Amco, Amco. But let me tell you a couple of facts about them that you may not know. They've been in business since 1964, which means they're doing something right. These places, they stick around and they become larger usually when they're doing something right. Amco is. AMCO customers, I have found, have been AMCO customers for years and years and years. They continue to take their vehicles back. Why? Because these guys have been working there for a long time and they know their stuff. They share information on a server that they have of all the AMCO guys where they communicate about the different stuff going on. They do transmissions. They do oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, cooling systems. They don't want to replace stuff in your car. They want to fix it for you. That's how they stay in business. You know, passing the savings on to you. That's how they make a living. So do yourself a favor and go in there. And mention me when you go to Amco. And if you've had a pleasant experience at Amco, by all means, call me and let me know. Amco is double A.

Eddie, I got that book that you suggested. I haven't started yet, but I got that book you suggested on my Amazon Kindle. Yeah. Read it on the plane ride. Oh, dude, that's a good idea. Yeah, I got to take my Kindle with me. Rob? Was Rob here? Yeah. Who? What? I haven't asked you yet, and I thought that asking you on the air would probably be the best idea. It's always good. Yeah, because it puts people on the spot, and it makes you kind of, you know. Yeah, right. Uncomfortable. But yeah, I was just wondering, Rob, if you would be willing to help me with my suitcases because I had surgery and I can't lift. Maybe you can get him a bellhop outfit to wear. Yes, a fez at least. Throughout the airport, that would be cool. I would love to. I just threw my back out. Nothing the five spot won't cure. I'll do it. Ashley, it looks like it's all... Oh, look at Ash. Come here. Get in here. Yoga sculpt. Look at you, lady. I thought yoga was just like moving around. Oh, it gives muscles. You can get muscles from yoga? Oh, yeah. How do you get muscles from yoga? Well, because you're using your body weight. It's like you do this move, right? Let me see. She's on the ground. She looks like she's in like a push-ups. It's called the chaturanga. And you have to go forward and keep your elbows closed at a 90 degree.
And you have to go all the way down before you push back up. That's yoga? And you do that like 800 times per class. Come here. So it gets you the... 800 times per class. Why would she say 800 if it's actually 14? I don't know. That's ridiculous. Check the pit. Watch the pit. Dude. Oh, my God. Look at her armpits. Look at the pit, bro. Oh, her armpits are really... I mean, it's so... Soaked in perspiration. Can you feel the tricep? Good job, Ash. And I can feel a little... Yeah. You're getting kind of toned. So I'll carry your bags for you since Rob's a jerk. Yeah, no problem. Well, he threw his back out. He threw his back out. Why would you say that? He threw his back out. Listen to the text. These are the text messages that we're getting. Okay. Mikey, did you guys mention that yesterday's Olympic medalist Paul Hamm withdrew from this year's Olympics? Yeah, I was coming up. I was saving it. It's a very important story. Paul Hamm. Yeah. It says, I thought Sky should know. P1 Kai. stupid. For the benefit of new P1s who may be wondering, why would your news girl Sky need to know that? It's because the guy's name is Paul Ham, you see. I'm a big fan of Ham. And Sky loves Ham. Sky, why do you love Ham so much? She's not looking at me. She's looking at her computer screen.
She's not even anywhere near the microphone. I like ham. She just squinted at Eddie. Yes, Eddie, you are right. Oh, see, there you go. Let's just go on to the next text, I guess. I like ham. Next text message, which, by the way, you can do at 35253, says, pretty convenient during Shark Week that Ryan Seacrest got bit by a shark. There you go. B1 Dingo. Great point. Sponsored by Discovery Channel. Thank you very much. Sky did her own little investigation and found that there's no pictures to support this allegation. Really? Next text says, Mikey, my bedroom is chocolate brown with one green wall and the room is not small. The comforter is white, so that makes the room bigger as long as you have lighter colors to offset the dark. Had my living room that grayish color and it felt like an institution. Go warm. Yeah, thank you.
Well, it doesn't matter because you've already made an agreement with your wife. It's all said and done. Not a fan of what she did on our hall landing. You're really on one right now. She loves you. I love her. You don't even have any idea how much I love this one. I know she's rolling her eyes right now. Baby, I love you, sweetheart. It's okay to say. Talk to her through the airwaves. Sweetheart. It's okay for me to say that we have disagreements about decoration stuff. I still love you. You're the best woman ever for me. This is making her very mad. But she has like the best sense of interior design out of anyone I know. No doubt about it. My wife. has a God-given talent and ability. I want to hire her to decorate my place. There's no doubt about it. You should. It's gnarly the gift that she has in terms of this. I still have my wreath up from Christmas, crying out loud.
Mike. Talk to your girl. Why does she have that up? Why does mommy have the wreath up? Because mommy's freaking lazy and she's really waiting for her boyfriend to freaking take the initiative and get up there and do it himself. I think mommy's trying to communicate with her man right now using the radio. Well, it's a man's deed to do that hanging stuff, Eddie. Who put it up? What are you talking about? No kidding, right? I mean, come on. It's your house. It's your place. You heard me. Mommy needs to chill out. Mommy took her Adderall this morning, so she's on one. A little bit cracked out, all right? Work with her. Work with her. Cracked out. So what's wrong with the haul? You know what she did? She made it creepy. Shut up. Spiderwebs on the walls? Yeah, I mean. And she knows it, too. Maybe that's why the tarantulas are coming home. They think it's the Addams family.
Look, it's our landing. What did she do? Is there a jack-o'-lantern there? She looked at the space and she's like, this would look so much better haunted. Pitches of dead people on the wall. It's like she just met her husband and she's like, oh, I bet he'll not love this. She put a mirror. That leans. It's not like a mirror that you hang. You lean it. It's like six, seven feet tall. It sits on the ground. And it sits on the ground. You lean it. So already it looks like an amusement park, right? It looks like House of Mirrors. I don't get that. Which is fine. Trust me. She knows what she's doing. Of course. Is it a narrow mirror or it's wide? It's wide. Okay. It's about... What is this, guys? Five feet? Five feet. No, this... This wide is five feet? Yeah, okay. All right, so it's... Okay, then it's about... About Rob. It's a Rob by Rob. It's about five feet. It's Rob by Rob, yeah. About twice his size. It's about Rob by two Rob. Okay. Maybe Rob by Rob and a half. It's something like that. Somewhere around there. But the frame of this mirror is like an old...
Victorian gold picture frame kind of deal? Spooky. That's in right now, I feel. Totally haunted. And then she's got a chair that was already there. You guys know that leather chair that sits there? And then there's a little side table that sits next to it, and she put an old-looking Victorian sort of lamp next to it. Did she get it from the Whaley house? Probably. And so when I saw it... She wanted to know what I thought. I went to the chair. Here comes Mr. Drama. I went to the chair. This is what I think of it. Creepy portrait guy. Sat creepy portrait. I sat like I was in a creepy portrait. That's what it looks like. This area right here is haunted. No doubt about it. You're a little sensitive. I am. You guys want to hear an email? Tell me what you guys think of this email. Mikey, I have a question for you guys. I had a guy ask me out the other day. He seemed real nice and I said, sure. Then he said he wants to take me with him to Greece. What? I didn't realize he was pretty well off and he says he wants to fly both of us to Greece for a vacation. He said we'd have separate rooms and no funny business, but it would be cool to have someone to spend time with getting to know.
I think it's going to be awkward and uncomfortable. What if we don't mesh? But how can I pass up a free trip to Greece? That's a great point. My friends think I'm crazy for even considering it. Obviously, Sky's not one of your friends. Says, what do you guys think? Signed, P1 Natalie. Well, look at us here with all these differing opinions. I mean, what do we know, right? I mean, you got to leave this stuff. Yeah, we don't know anything. So you've got to leave this to the professionals. Get them white tins. I didn't. That's why I thought it was so unusual. But he thought my teeth. He likes my teeth. That guy loves everything about you. He really does. Well, that's why he's wearing a Phil and 08 t-shirt. Oh, wouldn't that be cool? Good for him. Anyway, y'all, I read this.
I read this as I was sitting out in the waiting room. We don't have really a waiting room. I was here for my flu shot. You're in the wrong place, buddy. But yeah, I heard what the problem is here. By the way, did I mention I'm Dr. Phil? But I just want to ask this P1 here that wrote this email. Did she just get off the turnip truck or what? Guess what, sweetie? I have a nice piece of land for you in Florida. She's about as smart as I am as walking into a 50 Cent concert. Does she think there's a man out there that'll just fly you off to a fairytale land, spend lots of cash on you and not expect anything in return? That's true. Yep, you're right. And maybe he will fly you to Greece in Wonder Woman's invisible jet. Maybe a magic carpet. What do you think? Wouldn't that be exciting? It would be. You numbskull. Y'all, did I ever tell you guys about my Greek adventures? Oh, no. You have Greek adventures? I'm nervous. It's so beautiful. It is. Did you know that I eat at Daphne's Greek Cafe all the time? That doesn't mean that you know that. I don't. I didn't know that.
Well, actually, here's the deal. I would go over there for ancient Greek wrestling tournaments as a deal. That you would participate in? Yes, Eddie, I would. Oh, come on. Here's how it would work. We would strip down to our tighty-whities where they were invented, by the way. Tighty-whities were invented in Greece. And we would go at it like the Greeks used to. Oh, sounds exciting. The winner of the tournaments must face the dreaded crack. What are you talking about? What? That's right. And Harry Hamlin won last year's. He actually defeated the Kraken with his mechanical owl. He's talking about Class of the Titans, the movie. I don't know why. So you're telling me, Eddie, that Burgess Meredith isn't my wrestling coach? No, he was in the movie and he's now passed away. I'm showing you Medusa's head right now. You don't have Medusa's head. Turn to step!
Not working. That's just a Barbie head. Yes. I don't know what he's doing. This is my dishes. Will you please? Will you please, Dr. Phil? Usually people turn to stone. Yeah, it didn't work. So must not. Well, let me address this gal that wrote P1 Manatee. Let me tell you something. Natalie. Got to be honest with her, all right? It's completely inappropriate and totally something that my mother would do, which she's talking about here. It's the truth, Scott. It's the truth. She had the world's worst judgment. She used to leave me alone for days at a time saying, I'll be back soon, but don't worry. I hired a babysitter. And then she would gently pat a Colt 45 with the safety off, okay? She's leaving. Oh, no. The babysitter? Yes, I was four at the time. Oh, that's bad. That sounds dangerous. And she also used to let me spoon with a sawed-off Mossberg. Oh, yeah. Very dangerous. Shotgun for those of you who don't snuggle with them. At four years old. I'm Dr. Phil. Here's another thing. What was it? P1 Lanolin? Is that what you said? It's not even close. It's Natalie. Oh, that's right. That's right. Well.
I used to take complete strangers to Europe all the time, so it's not all that strange. You did? Yeah, it's true, Eddie. I was actually the road manager for Hawaiian Tropics little-known band, the Obese Rich Boys. That's strange. Do you remember the Obese Rich Boys? No, I don't. Well, Giddy. Okay. Remember that? Dude. Dr. Phil. Did you take your Adderall today? I did not. Daddy did not take his Adderall. Daddy did not. That probably explained. Now, the lesson here is... What's the lesson? The lesson here is hang out with fat people. Okay? That's the lesson. Because it makes you look so much better in comparison. And you're welcome. Well, all right. One last thing. Here's the deal.
Sally. That's right. Natalie. This guy you're talking about that asked you out, he ain't Bob Barker. This ain't the price is right. You didn't just win an all expense paid trip to Greece. You got to pay for it with your bod. And if you do that, depending on the prostitution laws in Athens, you could be in for a heap of trouble. That's true. Now, if you want to avoid all that, keep it simple and don't become my big fat Greek hooker. Okay. Plus, what am I thinking here? Bob Barker retired a year ago. Drew Brees took over. So whatever. I hope that solved the problem. I'm Dr. Phil. This is the Mikey Show. Get downloads and podcasts at rock1053.com. Craving some fun?

We're seeing some better-looking speeds on most of our freeways. However, the South 15 staying kind of tough here out of Escondido off the 78th of your Rancho Parkway, backing up again through Rancho Bernardo and some reduced speeds through Carmel Mountain Ranch and the Poway. The coastal ride has been nice all morning long, but now you're seeing a bit of a slowdown here from Cannon Road on down to just past Palomar Airport Road. There might be an accident we haven't heard about there yet, but there are some brake lights there, so watch for that. We've got a great-looking speed out of the East County. The westbound 8 is moving right along into Mission Valley. The 94 King Freeway. Still seeing some breakouts here from 32nd Street into downtown. And coming up onto the South Bay, you're good to go on both the 5 and the 5 northbound up through National City. The 5 Freeway backing up a little bit off the 163 as you head into the downtown S-curve. And then the 805 is pretty heavy out of Kearney-Maisley heading up over the 52. I'm McLaurin. It's on Rockwater 5.3. From the Cricket Wireless Studios. Yeah, why not?
Sounds good. San Diego's rock. Hey, check it out. It's the Mikey show. Featuring Mikey. I'm just happy to have food. Ashley. I will use an obscene amount of toilet paper. The Mikey show is on kind of like a stink lineup. Sure. Yes. You know, rock five, three. Oh, it is eight 16. New estimates released yesterday show that the federal government's budget deficit will be around $482 billion next year when Obama or McCain take office. Greg Norman turns down an exemption to play in the PGA Championship. I'm having a couple of issues getting all of my contacts to push onto my iPhone. And I'm finding by talking to people that some other people are having this issue. But hopefully...
It'll all be on there soon. It is a Mikey show. There are seven people on the Mikey show, if you did not know. It's myself, our producer, Eddie, our news girl, Sky, our sound effects guy, Sean, our assistant producer, Ashley, our phone screener, Boston Rob, and our man about town, Roosevelt Zethian Oates III Jr. Esquire, MD. rosy uh so there's seven of us on the mikey show and uh what the mikey show is see a lot of different radio shows they are successful for different reasons if you were to talk to each individual show you'll find that they are successful for different reasons it's usually a whole lot of reasons that would make a radio show successful
But you'll find that there's usually a couple of things that are right up there at the top that make that show different and unique and special. Now, the deal with us, there's a lot of things that I think that helped to make the Mikey show successful. Hopefully, we're making you laugh. That should be one thing that is happening that you're liking. But one of the things that I always say that I put right up there at the top. that we have that is different from a lot of shows is that the seven of us are very genuinely friends with each other. And we hang out outside of the radio station. And so what you get is you get seven real friends hanging out and talking on the radio every morning. That's what you hear. And what happens is you become a part of it. You're like one of those seven friends. What is a P1? Because you're going to hear us say P1, P1, P1. You'll hear that all the time. What does that mean? P1 is a Mikey show listener. Because on this show, a lot like your group of friends at work, you got a lot of inside jokes. You got a lot of stuff that you do that's like you and your group of friends. And you're going to find that that happens here on the Mikey show. For instance, every once in a while, you'll hear the group here chanting CPR.
And that means kiss, kiss, kiss. Specifically between Mike and Skye. No. They want to make out. Yeah, we do not want to make out. Oh, Mike wants to make out. I do not want to make out with Skye. No, Mike wants to make out. There was one. Mouth on mouth contact. Okay. Open mouth. Anyway, so that is an explanation. A little bit of an explanation as to what makes the Mikey show tick. A lot of what makes us tick is our chemistry because we're all. And then, like I said, hopefully we make you laugh, too. Now, what I do is I have the group. I'm the ringleader. And I have the group send me an email every day that kind of lets me know what everybody's up to. And then throughout the morning, I kind of go to that and I'll say, you know, we're a reality show on the radio. I'll kind of go to the thing and say, so, you know, Sky, tell me what's up with. This thing that you said that was going on in your life. Tell me what's going on with this thing. Now, this deal from Ashley, I don't understand. And I need some clarification from Ashley. But basically what she was telling me was that she somehow put her foot in her mouth. That's the gist of what I'm getting here, Ashley. With that giant bone she's got. How could she fit that foot in her mouth? First of all, it's a prominent bone.
gigantic bone in her foot. Have you ever seen Samwise Ganji? Or Yeti. Yes, both I think would apply. Or the Elephant Man. She has very cute feet. If by cute you mean gigantoid, then yes, you're right. They're very cute. They are a size 8.5. That's average. That's right. They're a men's 15. It's like Beast from X-Men. That's true. That's true, too, yeah. Guess that would work. Anyway, Herman. Oh, my gosh. So, Ash, what was this about? Explain this foot-in-the-mouth thing. What did you do? I hope she's not listening. This was my neighbor, and we were at the dog park. And I just recently had a birthday, turned like the big 2-5, right? Quarter of a century. So we're talking about that. And she's like, well, how do you feel, 25? I'm like, yeah, you know, quarter of a century. This is a big year for me. And she's like, yeah, what do you mean? I'm like, well, I have always told myself, like, growing up, like, when I turn 25, I want to be at a certain place in my life. I want to own my own, like, place. Like, I own a condo. And, like, I love my job. I've got a dog. Like, I've got a great boyfriend. Like, I'm exactly where I want to be at 25. And I said, you know, like, for example, like, when I turn 30, like, I know I'm going to want to own a house, get married, have kids.
And then I kind of pause, awkward silence, awkward silence, and she responds, yeah, no, totally, that's for you. When I just always told myself, like, when I turned 30, like, I would be totally just happy, having a place by the beach. I don't care if it's a house or not. Just being independent and being happy, like, having my dogs, that's all I really care about. How old is she? So I paused, and I'm like, oh, my gosh, Ashley, she's 32. Oh, wow. Ashley. She's your neighbor. She's 32. She's my neighbor. So it's like she's equivalent to where I am in terms of owning a condo, having a dog. She's single, you know? Yeah, that's bad. And she's 32. And I'm like, oh, I'm a jerk. Yes. And there was no recovery. Ashley, I do that stuff all the time. I do that stuff all the time. In fact, I'm the worst, man. I am the worst. I am the worst. In fact, I talk about how my favorite thing in the Bible is this thing called Proverbs. And all Proverbs are little fortune cookies. Like most of the Bible has a story to it, but Proverbs are different. They're just like opening up a fortune cookie and it says, be nice to your mom. And it's just all Proverbs is a bunch of sentences. And they were written by the wisest guy in the world, King Solomon. So I read those things all the time. Well, one of them is.
Keep your mouth shut. That's a good one. Listen, with me, that proverb is everything to me because I can't half the time keep my mouth shut. But anyway, when I read that from Ash, and now she's kind of clarified exactly what it was about. So have you done this? 570-1053. 35253 is our text. My mom does it with me. The time my mom does it with me. She does it with me all the time. I said to my mom the other day, it wasn't the other day, it was about two weeks ago, but I'm one of those people that says the other day when it was actually like last year. I said to my mom a couple of weeks ago, we had a friend in from out of town. It's been a friend of our family for years since I was a kid. She's kind of like my mom. She's got a couple of kids.
And her kids have kids. She's a grandmother. And so I asked the two of them, I said, you know, this feeling that you have for your kid, I said, it's different than anything that I can explain. I said, I got this weird theory that we all have this little, the way that we hear, the way that your ears work is that when noise is made, it hits these little bones in your ear and they vibrate. And that vibration goes to your brain and your brain produces it and interprets it as a sound. But that's how we actually hear. And I said, and I have this bizarre theory. I said, it's not true, but I don't base it on any kind of fact. I just have this funny theory. It's my own fantasy land and I kind of like it. You want to hear it? She says, yeah. I said, well, the way that it works is I believe that we all have this chemical in our brain and that when our kid is born.
And only when our kid is born and we hear the cry of our kid for the first time, those little bones vibrate. And that chemical that lays dormant in our head until we hear that for the first time is released. And it's this feeling of overwhelming love. And I think that the reason that God put it there is so that we protect the kid. Otherwise, we wouldn't. We would be too selfish. But he has that thing where so that we protect the child at all cost. Right. Because I have this feeling for Jake that is unlike anything that I've ever felt before. With all due respect to my wife, whom I love more than any other woman I've ever met, my love for my son is different. It's a different type of love. Different than any girl I've ever been in love with. Different than the feeling that I have for my mother and father. It's different from any other feeling. And so I said, so I'm curious, you two. I said, what is the difference between the love that you have and feel for your child compared to the love that you have and feel for your grandchildren? And my mom, without batting an eye, you love your grandchildren more. I mean, without batting an eye. And I just kind of like, wow.
Boy, that's something else. You know, and I was thinking, well, you know, I don't know that that's necessary, you know. Maybe what you could say is like, well, it is very different what you feel, you know, but you have this very intense, you know. They're both special kind of love. They're both a special kind of love, you know. Now, I got to say this. In defense to my mom, in defense to my mom, honestly, and this is the truth. Honestly, most of the time when she says something, she hasn't thought it through. So what she's actually saying is different than what's going on in her mind. So once she fully explains it, you kind of get it. Because the truth is, I don't think that she actually loves Jake more than she loves her boys, her actual boys. But, you know, she says stuff and it's a perfect example of you say something and then you go, oh, wow. And it's the worst. Maybe that didn't sound right. You can't take it back. You can't take it back. Or make it better when you try to make it better. Or make it better. Oh, you make it worse. Because I could have gone on and said, oh my gosh, but you are gorgeous and you have an amazing body because it's true. And you, gosh, I wish I had your hair and you've got a great thing going for you. No more. Makes it so much worse. Makes it so much worse. I don't know. Anything else you want to talk about? P1 Joanne.
Hi, how are you? Good, what's up? Oh, God, I put my foot in my mouth last Friday. What did you do? All right, so at work on Fridays, we have the TV on, and they were showing, you know, something about this woman that had been through all this cancer and all this chemo, and it kept coming back. And I was with one of my coworkers, and I was like, God, chemotherapy is just horrible. I think I would rather die than, you know, go through that, than go through cancer treatment. I think I'd rather die. And, yeah, her mom died of cancer. No, no, no, no, no. No. Joanne. Joanne, and so does she say it to you right then? She was just like, like, she was just silent for a minute. And she's like, you know, it really is awful. My mother fought cancer. And that's where your stomach drops. What did you say? She wanted to keep fighting. I was just like, I'm so, so sorry. I didn't know what else to say. You can't. I just kind of ignored the fact that I said anything. I'm sorry for your mother. My heart was so in my mouth. I don't even know what I said. If anybody's listening right now and that happens to you, I just want to give you advice and this goes for you too, Joanne. Monster.com. I will check out Monster.com.
Yeah, find another job. Dude, that is the worst. That's brutal. It was awful. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. You know what? I honestly don't mean to make it worse, Joanne. Why? Don't make it worse. I'm just saying. Do it. You know now, every time she sees you. Oh, yeah. Don't stop. Every time. Go over. All the thought is in her head is. Oh, that's cancer my mom lady. You'd rather die than be my mom. Yes. You'd rather be dead than be my mom. Who, by the way, is dead? Yeah. Because of cancer. Because of cancer. Well, I'm speechless now. I can't. Good luck, Joanne. I comprehend that. And it's like it always seems to happen with the people that you see every day, like my neighbor or, you know, someone you work with. I know it. 570-1053. Text us at 35. I'm reading it still. I can't so bad. Wrap my head around it. 35253 is our text number. That's rough. Yeah, my husband did something interesting where he tried to protect me.
like do a preemptive strike on the foot in the mouth thing because whenever um i hang out with his mom we always talk a lot of pop culture you know we love the you know the pop culture gossip and stuff and this was right after the jamie lynn spears pregnant story broke yeah and the whole world was going oh my gosh you know her career's over this is crazy what a horrible mom to raise her like this her and britney are both out of control blah blah right So we were going to visit my mother-in-law, and on the way, my husband goes, yeah, you know what? You probably shouldn't, you know, bring up Jamie Lynn Spears or talk about it or any of that. And I'm like, why? And he goes, well, you know, my mom gave birth to me at the same age. And I was like, I wouldn't have even thought about it. And I immediately would have put my foot in my mouth and been like, oh, yeah, with your mother-in-law? You're like, isn't she a hooker? I was like, thank you. You saved me before it happened. That's the worst. When you say something about somebody and it's their exact situation. You're done. That's crazy, man. Eddie, didn't you... That was different. I was going to say, I thought you said something to somebody famous or something, but that's something totally different. That's a conversation for another time.
I know what you're talking about. Another time. Another time. Wow. P1 WordHerd is on the line. WordHerd, are you there? Yeah, what's up, guys? What's up, man? So I was standing, this is when we had just had our first child and we were pregnant with our second. And I was standing in line at baby's arrest trying to return something. It was a long line. I'm pretty extroverted. So there was a mom standing in front of me with her brand new little girl. And we were making small talking. I said, oh, you know, what's her name? And I think she said her name was Sienna. And actually, I know she said her name was Sienna. I said, oh, that's a cool name. You know, it's unique, but it's not, you know, so it's not like an attempt to be so unique and make a strange name like Moon or Apple or Sunrise. And she goes, you know, her middle name is Sunrise. Oh, no. That's good for a middle name. But you know what I mean? Like for a middle name, you can do whatever. Right, right. Try and recover. Was that the recovery? That's what you said? Yeah, that's what I said. And you know what's so funny is that we ended up naming our second daughter Sienna as a result of her. There you go. Well said. Well done. The recovery is always electric. You know, any way you spin it, it's good. I think the best recovery is I'm going to stop now. Yes. Just stay silent. Even just saying that, I'm going to stop talking now. Okay.
The text messages are coming in. Mikey, last night I told a really tasteless joke about Special Olympics. The person I was talking to told me that his sister is mentally challenged. What do you do? Eject. You find the trap door on the floor and get out of there. Pretend like you have a stroke and start flopping around on the ground. And then they'll be like, that's not funny. My father just said it. My dad, yeah. That didn't work. Mikey, a friend of mine had cancer and we were talking about this diet he has to be on while getting treatment. After we talked about it, I looked at him and said, man, you must be super healthy with the way you eat. This was right after talking about his cancer. He looked at me blankly and said, yeah, except for the cancer. Real healthy. Except for that whole cancer thing that we just talked about. Other than that though. Mikey, a friend and I were talking about a movie right around my birthday and I made reference to how retarded it would be to own that movie and just watching it would make a person dumber.
He took it in kind, but later that week, I ran into it at Target. Returning that movie, he had gotten it for me for my birthday. Mikey, my boyfriend's mom, left him when he was a baby with his grandparents, with his great-grandparents, sorry. We were fighting about my mom one night, and I said, how would you know? You don't understand. And he just went silent, and I knew as soon as it slipped out of my mouth, it was like a knife to his heart. And the fight was over, and I instantly started saying I was sorry. That's bad. You don't go there. That was a bad idea. I don't even know what that's put in their mouth. That's just being a jerk. Just cruelty. Being kind of low. P1HK. Hey, Mikey Show. What is up? I don't know if my story could compare with the first story, but anyway, I'll try.
I'm a webmaster. I'm in the military and I'm a webmaster. And I got a phone call from someone who used to work there. And they wanted to talk to my boss. But in the meantime, you know, we were talking about stuff. And he said, well, you know, I told him we were redesigning the website and this and that. And he said, well, what did you think of the old design? I said, well, I think it sucks. I said, it's old and outdated. It reminds me of that old executive style kind of thing. And he said, well, I designed it. You're like, I meant sucked in a good way. Yeah. Yeah, needless to say, you know, I could end up actually working for the guy someday. Well said. Yes, old meaning retro. Sex is the new awesome. Yes. You just didn't know. Yeah, you should have said that. Sex is the new awesome. I mean, maybe there is a lesson in it in that, man, if we don't say that stuff, it won't happen.
If we don't say that stuff, it won't happen. You got to be careful, man. P1B Real. P1B Real. What's up, Mikey? What's up, dude? Hey, first of all, I'd like to thank you. I love your show, man. I love your representation of the book of Proverbs, too, brother. Thank you, dude. Hey, you're welcome. You're welcome. Getting to the point, I used to work for this company in the sales department. And one afternoon, I was coming in, and I saw a young lady that I haven't seen in a while. And I was very excited to see her. And we got in a conversation, and I was like, congratulations. And she was like, congratulations on what? Aren't you pregnant? She was like, no. Oh, dude. That is the worst. You never. You never. Listen, man. I don't care if it literally looks like they're carrying a beach ball under that T-shirt. Don't say it. They're bloated. They're bloated. Assume they're bloated. Assume they eat a lot of salt. They eat a lot of sodium. Wow. So I made a vow to never, even if the girl or lady looks like she's pregnant, I would not. Dude, I wouldn't even say anything if she was giving birth. Yes. Right? Yes. Right? Totally. So, dude, what did you say when she said she wasn't pregnant? Like, how did you try to recover? Are you fat? Well, I was like, it was just quiet, and I was like, so how's the sales department? Oh.
Yeah, that's what I could have said. You know, I was just, you know, you know. Are you sure? Are you sure? Absolutely horrendous. Because it looks like you are super pregnant. I mean, really. Are you sure you're not like 12 months pregnant? Thank you for the call. That would be tough. Oh, no. Oh, this next one's bad. P1 Rod. Hey, guys, how you doing? Oh, Rod. Okay, so I'm in the military, right? And during my initial training, I was in this class for like a year and a half, long, long class. And my boss in the class was this special ops army guy, right? Really, really hardcore, like he was a cop in his off time and like really hardcore guy. So one day I was walking back to class and I saw him outside on the phone and he just like broke down crying, right? Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. The worst thing it could ever do to other people. And my boss looks at me and he's like, you know what just happened? My sister just committed suicide. That is like, if somebody said to you, honestly, if somebody said to you, which would you rather have? That happened to you or get kicked in the stomach by a donkey? Yeah. I almost think I'd rather take the donkey. Yeah. Dude, what? I mean, and there's no recovery. No, there's nothing. And we had like eight months of class left. And from that point on, you're that guy. You are that guy. Hey, dude, thanks for the phone call, man. I appreciate it. 5701053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Don't forget, tomorrow's the Joker contest. Where was Lincoln shot? I don't mean on his body. I mean, where was he? Ford Theater? That is correct, Rob. He was shot at the Ford Theater. Francis Ford Popola Theater. The Ford Focus Theater. NFL is allowing NBC to stream Sunday night football on the internet. Really? Yep. Coming up in just a little bit, I said we were going to have Sky give the list of the top party and sober schools in America. So we have the top party and sober schools in America. But first, Sky has new releases. Oh, my. Okay, new video games out today. We have Soul Calibur 4 for Xbox 360 and PS3. And according to Seth, this is a really cool game. What is it? Soul Calibur 4. Awesome. Soul Calibur 4. Mike. What is it? Dude, so it's just like a fighting game, okay? Yeah. It's like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, you know, where you kind of battle whoever you're playing against. Right. But in this edition, there will be... Star Wars characters fighting against the Soul Calibur people. Really? Yeah, dude. Yoda for Xbox 360. Darth Vader for PS3. Think about it. Deal with it. Super duper. That's nice. Nice. YouTube the trailer. It's killer. Nice. Wow. Hey, wait a minute. I just thought of something. Huh. We're doing new releases. Right.
Ashley, get Ty on the phone. Get my friend Ty on the phone from Third Day. Okay. Yeah, I just remembered that. I'm very excited. Okay, go, go, go, Sky. Okay, also on video games, Spectral Force 3, Xbox 360, MLB Power Pros 2008 for the Wii and PS2. Who makes that game? Who makes it? Does it say? E, there's the little E logo on the bottom corner. EA Sports? Yeah. It's in the game. That's what I heard. It's in the game. Let's see, we have Summer Athletics for the Wii, Xbox 360, PS2. We have SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 for the Wii. And finally, we have Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 for Xbox 360. Greetings. So those are the video games out this week. Nice. What else we got, Sky? Okay, new music out today. Yes. Third Day has a brand new album called Revelation out today. That.
Is correct. Ski ball. Check this one out. This is my favorite song on this new album. You've already heard it? Yeah. I heard it. Awesome. Dude, this song to me has such a cool, like, I could totally hear Sam Elliott talking over this and going like, Chevy. Yeah. Made the American one. Ladies and gentlemen, Ty Anderson from the band Third Day. What is up, dude? Man, I am on your time zone, so this is no problem whatsoever. We are in L.A. You're in Los Angeles, and actually for a pretty good reason, right? Yeah, we're actually getting to kick off our street day today, our new album, by performing on The Tonight Show tonight with Jay Leno. Look at that. Let me tell you something.
Third Day was like one of the biggest, if not the biggest act in Christian rock music forever. But now they're the first Christian band to be on the cover of Billboard magazine. And the whole thing was like Christian crossover and, you know, how they're like making it mainstream because the music is so cool. And The Tonight Show. Has there ever been a Christian rock band on The Tonight Show? Dude, has there been, Ty? You know, back in the day, you have to go back about 10 years ago, DC Talk. Oh, yeah. They had a song, Jesus Freak, and they played on The Tonight Show. I was back in, like, Arsenio Hall days, you know. So it's a long way. But the only problem is I'm really tired because I actually stayed up all night playing Geometry Wars. I was just so pumped about that. Yeah, that's a good one. That's funny, man. Yeah, dude, did you hear that? Geometry. Now, you have the Wii console, right? I have the Wii console, and I got the Extreme Ultimate Duck Hunt, according to your direct order. But you hated it. Yeah. Well, you know, I was thinking it was going to be like the old-school Nintendo Duck Hunt. Right. No, it is not. And so I didn't realize that there were so many... You know, I didn't realize that a...
Hispanic guy in Los Angeles could be such a redneck. In San Diego. You get a duck call, and you've got to pick your camo, and you've got to train your dog. It is, man. It's the best. See, a guy like me... You're surfing, fish tacos, but duck hunting? Come on. Exactly. Well, you know, I'm never going to make it out to do any actual, real duck hunting, so that's about as close as I'm ever going to get to it, Ty. Yeah, it's a lot safer than going with Dick Cheney, so just play on the Wii. That's true. It's true. Hey, Ty has the coolest. Can I talk about your setup in your basement? Oh, yeah, sure. Dude, Ty has the coolest setup and he built it himself. He basically, and we don't have basements in California, but Ty lives in the South and they have basements. And so in his basement, he took this nine by nine foot section of his basement. I didn't even know this, but they have. high definition projection now. So you can watch, Eddie, you can watch Monday Night Football nine feet by nine feet in high definition. I had no idea that you could do that. And the cool thing is being from Georgia, you know, instead of buying a screen, you put my feet over the ball. Wait a minute, you cut your phone cut out. Instead of what? You know, when you're from Georgia, you don't have to buy a screen. You can just, hold on.
My friend's iPhone's going off next to me. Because, you know, in Georgia, I didn't even have to buy a movie screen. I just hung a sheet on the wall. Oh, that's perfect. That works perfect. Actually, I really did. I just painted right on the drywall. I painted it white, and it's bright as day. I mean, it's so amazing. That's so cool. What you can do for very little money these days. And it's so much fun. I got the PS3 hooked up to it. It's great for Geometry Wars. So you play video games in nine feet by nine feet? Absolutely. You play the Wii Sports on there, and the characters are bigger than you. He was telling this story, and Rebecca was sitting next to me, and I was just like, please let her soak this in, please let her soak this in, please let her soak this in. You're going to dig out a basement. I was totally helping you out. I know it, man. I was telling you how it's all about playing home videos and your family slideshows and everything. He did. He did. He goes, hey, man, and I did what you said. He goes, what he did was, He had Mac, the lead singer of Third Day, was over at his house for a barbecue, right? And this was, I don't know how long ago, but he's over at the house and a bunch of friends are over at the house. Well, Ty's going around. He's like taking pictures of everybody while they're there. This is the story he tells Rebecca, right? Yeah. Because I'm nudging her with this nine foot by nine foot PS3 story. Yeah. So he says, yeah, you know, Rebecca, so.
Mac was over. We had a barbecue. All these people are running around. I'm taking pictures of everybody. And right before the end of the barbecue, I just went inside. And a couple of clicks here and there. And all of a sudden, I threw this slideshow up on the 9 foot by 9 foot. Everybody's seeing their kids. I just had them come in for this slideshow. And it was so great. Oh, man, it'll work out wonderful. Smart and high definition is a beautiful thing. It is. It is. Hey, dude, we're going to watch you on The Tonight Show tonight, and congratulations, man. Billboard Magazine, The Tonight Show Tonight, and the new album sounds phenomenal. Yeah, man, we're so excited. It's been, I mean, as you know, just me and my friend, we stay in touch. It's been such a long time we've been working on this. It's like, you know, the wait has been worth it, and it's been just a real excitement for the record, which, you know, is great for us. And I think, you know, just like we were saying when we were on your show earlier this year, I think, For us, we want to absolutely be unashamed about who we are and our faith. But at the same time, that's never an excuse to compromise in the music. That's rad. The music needs to be great. And that's what we're trying to do. And it feels like people are starting to take notice. So we're enjoying the ride and really glad to kind of be paving some new ground. That's so cool. Awesome. Hey, we'll be watching you tonight. And thanks for taking the time, man. And we'll talk to you soon.
Great. No problem. I can't wait to see it. September 27th. Yeah, they're coming back. Yeah, they're coming back. They're playing. Talk about big time. Third day's playing the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater. Oh, wow. I mean. Third day, Robert Rinoff and the family band in Jars of Play. That's right, man. It's a cool show. So, hey, dude, I appreciate it. And, yeah, we'll see you in September. All right. Thanks, man. Thanks, Mikey. All right, brother. We'll see you. That's Ty Anderson. Yeah, the band is blowing up and getting really, really bad. That Billboard thing was huge. But he's really right about the whole thing. From the very beginning, there have been some bands that are in that genre of music that do not feel comfortable coming on The Mikey Show. And from the very beginning, in that genre of music, Third Day is like Metallica is to rock music. They're as big as it gets. Grammy award winning, like we just said, Tonight Show Tonight. It doesn't get bigger than that. It doesn't get bigger than that in that genre of music. And from the very beginning, not only were they uncompromising in the way that they do the music and make it, and just not caring that it sounds a specific way.
They just go, we just want to make great music. And this is what we kind of like in a lot of ways. I think kind of how I do the show in terms of, hey, man, everybody gets to be who they are on the show. And I'm just who I am. And we're so funny. It's funny. You know what I mean? And their deal is music is music. And it just sounds good. Anyway, I want to hear what the rest of the new releases are. And then as we're going to break, I want to play that song because that song. Keller, it's my favorite one on the album. Awesome. Okay, also out with the new CD today, we have Scars on Broadway with their first self-titled album. Two of the guys, the guitarist and singer, and then also the drummer from System of a Down. That's really a band, Scars on Broadway? Scars on Broadway, yeah, this is their first album. We play them. Yeah, we play them. I'm so nerdy. I'm so nerdy. We play them on this radio station. On the rocker, yeah. I have no idea. Garbage. Oh, it's good. That's what I meant. Garbage is the new awesome. Garbage is the new badass. Also out today, U2, the deluxe edition box set with six discs out today. There's six CDs in this thing? Yes.
What do you suppose the percentage of Americans that would put U2 in their top 10 favorite bands of all time? 99.9. I would say 99.9. You should be, you know, expelled. How can you not? Expelled from music. In the human race. Or suspended or given detention. I would say 25%. Put on an administrative leave. Yeah. Yeah. Like, or what are they? They should put you on maternity leave if you're not into them. Really? Oh, you're pregnant. Yeah, and they should give you a hat that says that you're sassy pants. Yeah. Oh. Okay. Wow, that's quite a hat. And you should get a detention. You should be given detention. Put in time out. Just put her out to pasture. And also put in time out and put out to pasture and to stud. Thank you. Thank you. So this box set has their first three albums remastered and then also some B-sides, live tracks, rarities, all that stuff. Sweet. Okay, and then finally, with the new CD out today, we've all been waiting for the new one from Alice Cooper. It's called Along Came a Spider. Are you kidding? Oh, great. Eddie's not a fan. Eddie's not a fan. Now, is this...
Is this actually, is this new stuff or is this like older stuff? I have no idea. I think this is new. It just kind of sounds. Well, he's getting up there. He's getting up there. Yeah. Right? Just give up. I mean, come on. I think his mascara is running. Why would the heck do you find that? He's still got something to say, Eddie. Well, I think Sean, do you like Alice Cooper at all? Yeah. Yeah, I think Sean is definitely in that genre of liking it. Alright, so that's the new music out today. Now we have new DVDs out today. It's a good day, you guys. Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay. That's really a real thing? Don't remember it when it came out in theaters. Don't remember it. I think that was direct-to-DVD, right? Oh, shut your mouth. No, it was actually in theaters. It made a million dollars. One million? One million dollars.
Dude, NPH is back for the sequel. So good, so good. Who's that? I can't wait. It's Neil Patrick Harris. Neil Patrick Harris, isn't it? Yeah. There you go. Doogie Howser. Playing a strange version of himself. There you go. Yes. All right. Also out today, we have Doomsday, kind of end of the world film. Oh, yeah. Okay. I don't remember. Yeah. Maybe you'll remember Never Back Down. Don't remember. These are all movies that apparently came out in theaters that I don't remember. That was like a martial arts film. Yes, it sure was. Okay, and then we also have Lost Boys, The Tribe, with Corey Feldman and Corey Haim. That's real? Is that straight to DVD or is that in theaters? It is straight to DVD. For real? Yeah. Yeah, it's like this new family, these kids. But how is it possible, guys? I'll tell you the story. But how is it possible that something that goes directly to DVD could be something that you would enjoy? How is that possible? What do you mean? Oh, it's possible.
If it was something... Did you like Lost Boys? I did. Well, there you go. But this one goes directly to a DVD. They want to get it to the masses quicker. It doesn't mean that it's poor quality. It just means that they didn't have a distributor, you know, to put it in theaters. But why would they not have a distributor to put it into the theaters? There could have been, you know... They're busy. All the distributors were busy that day. It was very busy. It happens. We also have Shine a Light, which is the Rolling Stones documentary done by Scorsese. Martin Scorsese. And then TV shows to DVD, we have Stargate Continuum. Yes! Sean. I don't even know. No idea. Never seen one of us. No idea. SG-1. They're back, dude. It's a whole new storyline. Neil Patrick Harris again. No, it's not Neil Patrick Harris. SG-1. It's MacGyver's in it. Richard Dean Anderson. Nice. Show off, Eddie. I mean, are you kidding me with that? Every time. No, don't pretend you're looking out in the parking lot like there's anybody out there.
Now he's looking at his coral finger. I see. Law and Order Special Victims Unit, Year 7. Beverly Hills, 90210, the fifth season. And finally, Ashley, The Hills, the complete third season. Nice. I've already seen every episode. Hey, there's a guy on the phone that actually saw the new Lost Boys thing at Comic-Con. He watched the Lost Boys movie at Comic-Con. Is that right, P1 Dell? Yeah. The lead role is played by the guy that played in American Bandcamp. Okay. Oh, that one. Yes, American Bandcamp. Straight to DVD? Yes, that was actually straight to VHS. Straight to beta? Yes. And so you liked it? Eight millimeter. Yeah, it was actually really good. You know, he plays the Brock brother again. It doesn't really come into the end, though. Oh, man. Don't give it away. Yeah, don't give me surprises. All right, dude. Thanks a lot. When we come back, why don't we play P1 Password? I think it might be fun to do a little P1 Password when we come back. At the end of the show on Friday, I play that third day song called Tunnel. They're friends of mine and they're a good band. They're going to be on the Tonight Show tonight. Their new album comes out today. It's called Revelation. This is my favorite tune on the new album. It's called I'll Always Be True. It has that sort of like...
Mellencamp kind of guitar sound. Seeger. Seeger sound. It's got a I like slide guitar like Eagles do a lot of slide guitar. I like southern rock. And so this is the only tune on there that's real southern rock. The rest of it is just straightforward third day rock. But this is I love it. It's called I Will Always Be True. I will always be true. You're the guy who pooped in my tuba. Welcome to WAMU Mrs. Gillespie. Expenses rising butterfly stomach. You must be looking for Bill, our small business specialist. Welcome back. We're going to do P1 Password here in just a second. Well, Sky was going to do the top party schools and sober schools in America. Party schools. I know that SDSU used to be up there, but I doubt they are anymore. Lambda, Lambda, Lambda. Chico State.
Arizona State. Humboldt State. Florida State. Long Beach. Cal Poly. Texas. Florida. San Diego State. Jacksonville State. West Florida. Florida State. Miami of Florida. Miami of Florida. University of Central Florida. U Miami State. U of A. Miami of Florida. Central Florida. University of Central Florida. Florida State. University of Florida. University of Florida is the number one party school in the country. I said that. You did not. I said Florida State and then I said Florida, which is. University of Florida. University of Florida State, Florida. That's the Gators. University of Florida from good times. Alabama. That's where we were going. So that is the biggest party school. And they do say that a lot of the championships attribute to that. Come from drinking. Because people are partying to celebrate. That's what Eddie said. I said it a long time ago. That's right.
Do you want me to tell you what the other top three were? San Diego State. Tomo State. Oh, yeah. Oh, UNLV. Grossmont. Reno State. USC. Nothing for Grossmont and nothing for University of Florida of Good Times. These are two things that I feel terrible about. Wisconsin. North Dakota State. Oh, yeah. I can't believe, for real, like Humboldt and Chico and San Diego State, none of those are on there. Well, I have the top study, Mike. I have the top four, and no. No, they are not in there. No, they are not. USC. Nothing in California. Oregon. What? Oregon State. Washington. Washington State. Harvard. U of A. Arizona State. Alaska State. Run out of Pac-10 schools. Puerto Rico State. University of Texas and El Paso. University of Hawaii. University of Oahu. New Mexico. Saskatchewan. Yeah, Mexico. NYU. You're just saying Mexico. Malaysia. University of Hawaii. UTEP. Singapore University. Yeah, University of Nepal. Oh, I got it. It's National Polytechnic College of Science. Give me the conference. Yeah, Sky, what conference is it in? Big 10 here. Oh, okay. Well, that's Oklahoma. Oklahoma State. Eddie, it's the Big 12. Texas. Oh, yeah, dude. It should be Texas, all right?
If they're talking about classy schools, then yes. What about Holy Cross? Numero uno. That's where I went. Are you doing a list of the top colleges whose students go on to buy German imported luxury cars? With Alcanta leather inside of them. Smelling like a new car. I get it, dude. You speak Mexican. You're real cool. You went to a great school, though. No, I didn't. I went to Holy Cross. Holy Cross has a great government department. You know what, dude? You're a real jerk. Why are you even saying that? I didn't take government, all right? Who has your boys back every single time I do, bro? I don't need you to pay for my meals, all right? I can pay for my own meals. That's all right, dude. If you don't want me to pay for any more of your meals, I won't. I do want you to, but... You're just letting them know. That's fine, dude. Can you please not get in my car with your muddy shoes and smoke cigarettes in here, dude? What am I supposed to do? Do you just quit cigarettes? No, bro. You're supposed to take those muddy boots off before you get in my car. Sorry, I just got back from my mudding trip. Dude, you just spit all over my iDrive. Oh, wow. I don't even know what that is, dude. You put that in your ears? Listen to your iDrive? You just spit on my head-up display. Alright? Dude, you're better than me, alright? She's got tobacco leaves.
No, I'm trying to say my car smells like Marlboro, all right? I'm trying to say that Alcantara now smells like tobacco, okay? It's an improvement. That hurt, dude. I don't know why you even had to say that. I don't care what you said, dude. You're a clown. I don't know why. You should drive a clown car. You should call me clown, dude? Yeah, dude, you're a clown. Really? You see this flower right here? You see what that does? Oh, look at that squirt. Great. Exactly, you're a clown. Got you right in the face, dude. Exactly. Big red floppy shoes, okay? Real good, dude. Don't fight. Kid gets his, though. I'll tell you that. Dude, let me tell you something. That's all I'm telling you. Kid gets his. That's my sweet Ashley. She's absolutely exquisite. Is she looking good? That's how she is. All right. Mommy's looking great. Hot mommy right there. I would say that the number one sober school is Brigham Young University. Well, you would be correct. Yes, that's right. Utah.
Utah, Utah State. It has held that title for the last 11 years. The Fighting Mormons. Yes. And the other two top party schools were University of Mississippi and Penn State. I said that. You did not. Yeah. You did not say either. He said both of them. I was listening. He said each one of them twice. He said the second one three times. By the way, the current polling on Eddie's fingers. Oh, what do we got? From MikeyShow.com. I voted. 17.36% say it's staph infection in Eddie's finger. 38.19% say it's a coral growing in his finger. That's what I voted for. You just want it to be that. That would be so cool. 7.64% say cellulitis. What does that even mean? Yeah, what is that? And 36.81% say finger amputation. So there is the latest calling. I have finger amputation. You have finger amputation. I think it's moving up my arm. Oh, no. It could be. You need to go to the doctor. Yeah, Eddie has something seriously wrong with that finger. He tried to perform surgery, and whatever it did, or whatever, yeah, it made it worse. Never listening to you guys again. Well, you need to listen to me and go to the doctor now. You should have listened to me. You should have said that before. I have an idea. What if we sterilize Anita? We let Skye do this surgery. She probably knows what she's doing. There you go. She'll probably get it out.
I don't take that on. Let her feel... Something goes wrong. She's not very bright, Mike. Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey P1 Password, yes, it's time to play the P1 Password on the Mikey Show. This is P1 Password. All right, here's P1 Password. Here's how it works. Call us at 570-1053. And we have a hat. And inside the hat, we have all the names of the people here on the show. And we are going to, except for Sean and Zeth. Oh, Zeth's in there. Zeth's in. Actually, Zeth is in there. Just Sean. He's the only one. So six people's names in the hopper. Hopper. And I'll pull out two names at a time. Those people will have to communicate with each other playing password. So who plays? Who does this? You. Me. Yeah. Skye. Yeah. Ashley. Yeah. Robert. Yeah. And the bearded wonder. Oh, exactly. Your partner, Mike, the past two times you've played. I know it. He has. 50-50.
Lovers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what. CBR. CBR. Why would you even have to go there? Well, okay. Now, what we need you to do is call in right now. And the thing is, is that if the two people's names that are drawn win, you win. It's that easy. So all you have to do is call us right now, 570-1053. And if the person's name that is drawn wins, you win. So call us. Let's get this show on the road. Do it. Let's see, who do we got? P1 Jess, how are you? Not too much. Are you ready to play a little P1 Password? Yes, I am. I'm going to reach into the hat. The first name I draw is going to be the person doing the communicating. The second name I draw is going to be the person that is going to have to figure out what they're trying to tell you. The first name is?
B-Rob. He's the worst. He's really bad. Come on in here, Boston Rob. Please don't pick me. That means Boston Rob is going to be doing the communicating and Sky is going to be the person who's trying to figure out what he's saying. Hang on, Jess. Sorry, Jess. Be cool, man. I'm trying to. Here's how it works. P1s get to hear the words. Sky cannot hear the words. So as you're listening in your car at home or at work, you'll know the word. This is not good. Rob is trying to communicate. You won when I gave you the clues. I know, but... Now, here's how it works. You've got to get five out of seven, guys. Five out of seven. No way. You can only pass twice. Sean says no way. Thanks, Sean. Here we go. We can do this.
We've done it before. You ready? Come on, Rob. Here we go. Magazine. Oh, pass. Okay. Blade. I couldn't hear it. Go. Blade. Knife. Fork. Sharp. Object. Edge. Sword. That's it. He only gets to try three different words. Foil. Tin. Can. Tin. Man. Rob's so frustrated that he can't give good words. Tin. Foil. There you go. Oh, my God. Transformer. Robot. Dance. Movie. WALL-E. Oh, man. Eddie. Johnny. Oh, man. You're done. You guys lost. That's it. That was awesome. Transformers. Oh, man.
The first one, the magazine was the first one. All I could think of was Ham Weekly. And I couldn't say that. You are an idiot. And you know what the other one was, Skye? What? Blade. Like Snipes. If you would have said Snipes, like you could have said Wesley. But my mind when I'm with Skye, I go into jerk mode and I can't help it. That's true. That is true. Like my first instinct, I have to fight off. You're a bad person. That is true, too. That is true. I'm sorry. The magazine was so easy. So sorry, Peter. Ham Weekly is the only thing that came to you. Rob lost for you, Jess, because of Ham Weekly. That was ridiculous. Sorry about that. It was Ham Weekly. You're an embarrassment. That's true. P1 Jason is on the line. He doesn't want to tell you. Hey, Jason, how are you? Thank you. Jason, your communicator is going to be Zeth. Oh, no. I can't even understand him. Zeth will be communicating with... Please be Ashley. I love it. Zeth is communicating to Ashley, Jason. You gotta get five out of seven words. No way. Five out of seven words. Ashley is sitting down. Have a little faith. Have some faith in this man. Now,
As much as you hate Zeth. I want you to keep this in mind. That's true. You guys do have loathe. You guys do have your own way of communicating. I think you guys know each other pretty good. That's what it's about, chemistry. Hang on the line, Jason. You guys ready? Here comes Zeth's first word. He's got to get five out of seven words communicated to Ash. He can only pass twice. And with each word, he can only give one word. Okay. Here we go. Print. Press. Seal. Message. Destiny. Oh. Pass. A hair. Scrunchie. Fake. Extensions. Smash. That was it, right? Promotions. Event. Ashley. Me what? Nickname. She's so frustrated. Oh, the squint. The disgust on her face.
No, pass. Oh, that's it. It's over. How do we not have cameras in the studio? That was brutal. You must see the two of them as it's going on. Hair, weave. Well, I don't speak Ashley like you do. I know. Skye speaks Ashley. Now, Ashley just gave me a look like, oh, Mike, why wouldn't he have said that? Now, what is test book? Print. Don't give me your eyes. She just gave eyes. Don't give me your eyes. The next one. Now, the one he passed on. I don't blame him. I think you could have got it. I think I could have got it with her. Do it. Do it, Eddie. Let me give the word to the P1s again. Destiny. Group. Pair. Beyonce. Destiny. Wow. Holy cow. Wow. Eddie and Skye speak pretty good, Ashley. Yeah. That was good. Sorry.
The one with black. Can you do that one, Eddie? We already did that one. Let's try that one. Eddie, you give it a shot. Here we go. Smash. Oh, wow. Crush. Orange. Promotions. Ashley. Rock name? Crush? Rock? Ashley? She's thinking of her, I bet. When you say Ashley, she's thinking of herself. Promotions? You're not in promotions. Who's in promotions? Ashley. But when you say Ashley, there's only one. That was tough. That was a tough one. Alright, so that means the last two are me. It's me. Communicating to Eddie. Oh, no. Boob. Have some faith. Have some faith. When Mike was trying to communicate TV, he just kept saying boob. So you've got to pick a listener. Okay. Wait, what? Who are you guys playing for? We're playing for a P1 that you may know. Her name is P1 Quimby. Bye-bye. Well, hello. Oh, well.
Quimby, I'm sorry, but I'm going to be the communicator. You got two all-stars here, man. Eddie's good. I am not. And so I will be trying to communicate the word to Eddie. And he didn't get this one either. Microwave. Reheat. Oh, it is? Is it? No. There's a dash. There's a dash. Is re a word by itself? You can't use it. Well, that's what they do on the show. Oh, that's two words. Man, that was so good. Yeah, that was what it was. And this one. Thimble. Sewing. Yarn. Thumb. I didn't say thumb. You did. But I think it was the order. It's the order. Yeah, the order. This game is so tough. You know, for me, it's tough, man. But I love it. Sky's the best. You should.
Be on that show, man. Eddie and I work as a great team together. I have yet to be able to give words yet. You haven't given words? Eddie's really good at it. We should do it so next time you just get to, you know what I mean? Whoever your partner is, we've got to just do it that way because I want to hear it. We suck. I'm very sorry, Quimby. It's KIOZ San Diego. And I'm trying to download the iPhone will not see multimedia messages. So I have to go to a website and manually type in this username and password. Oh, that's annoying. So my neighbor sent me a multimedia text message and I'm sure it's the tarantula that my wife put under a bucket. I need to see it. I want to see it. I'm sure that's what it's going to be. I mean, I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing... I'll help you out. Send it to my $15 cell phone, and I'll be able to open it up. You know what I'm saying there, Mike. You know what he's saying. His message is, you paid a ton of dough for that technology and that iPhone, and I didn't pay anything for my dumb cell phone, but I can see multimedia messages, and you can't. Go ahead and send it, you know, I'll open it up. How much was your son? It was $15 was my plan.
Oh, wow. Mine was free. And I can come check it out, too, if you want. Maybe you can send it to Eddie on his free phone. Free. Yeah. Because it was... Maybe yours was, Eddie. Uh-huh. Does it have a... That's not stupid, Scott. Well, I mean, it kind of is. That's amazing. What do you do with that? Do you fight other people with iPhones? Wow, that's ridiculous. It's the tarantula. It is? Yes. How's he looking? Like a tarantula, dude. Holy jeez. That's a tarantula. Yeah, that's a nice one. That's a big one, right? Yeah, nice. What are you, in Africa? You know what, man? Honestly, I've never thought that tarantulas are real scary looking. Only because when I was a kid, I remember at school that people would bring them in. You could pet them. Show and tell. Yeah, show and tell. They walk on your hand and stuff. Crazy people. This particular one.
You know, sure, it does look a little bit on the menacing side. And the subject is took care of Tarantu. So we know what that means. Now, she told him she wanted him to put it somewhere safe. Like the toilet? No, she wanted him to relocate. So hopefully he did. Maybe he could just put it under a rock. Or under his boot. Okay. The one that he's wearing. I would relocate those guys. Yeah, I think it's like bad mojo to kill a spider. Well, I think it's... I don't think it's bad mojo to kill a spider. I think it'd be bad mojo to kill a tarantula. Why? I don't know. I thought there was some, like, thing about it. That killing a spider is, like, bad. Sat down beside her. That thing. Oh, yeah. Little Miss Muffet. Just a little Miss Muffet syndrome. If you don't hit it right now... Tell him. Hit it.
See what's going to happen to him. Then you're going to get... You want bucket face? You'll have it. If you do not hit it right now, you will get Miss Piggy Toe, bucket face, and wrench nut. Oh, wow. You don't want that, bro. I had that once. Painful yet comical. Okay. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Ringo. Happy birthday to you. And many more. That is so, Sean. Like, the more obscure, the more bizarre the reference. Calm down, pea soup. It's so out there that Yoko Ono singing happy birthday to Ringo Starr. It's so random that it's right up his alley. He's really, he is really something else. Yeah, he is. Screw loose. Yeah. That's clear. You gotta screw loose. All of yours are loose. Well, you were talking about Kelsey Grammer. You know what, dude? Really? In all honesty, Mike. You can't take it, dude. I know. I mean, let's be serious for a minute. Seriously. Ashley, you can tell him. You used to date him. Why do you think we broke up?
Because he never hit it. He never listened. That's what I heard. You guys are so juvenile and stupid. Whatever. Did not and would not. Whatever. Whatever about you. Whatever about you as I drag my naked body across your face. Okay. Whatever about you times one million and then in a mirror. Colby Kylat. Hang on, Kelsey Grammer. Colby Kylat says that she got turned down by American Idol. Auditioned, turned down. She didn't even make it through the first phase. She didn't get to see... Actually, you're a better singer than Colby Kylat. Colby Kylat.
I was listening to her the other day. Her new song came on the radio. Have you heard the new one? Realize. Is that what it's called? Stop it. Well said. So I'm listening to it, and I'm thinking to myself, okay, and this is honest truth. In fact, I could tell you where I was on the road. Of course you can. Rancho Santa Fe and Olivenhain. And this thought, the following thought came into my head as this song came on the radio. I looked down because it gives the information. It said Colby Calliat. Realize. And I'm listening to it for the first time ever. And I thought, oh, this is very catchy. And then I really started to think to myself, I wonder what is special about her. Why did she get to be, you know, a recording artist? Because, you know, usually there's got to be something, you know. Because I was trying to really think, you know, is it that different? Is the singing that different or whatever? Because it is similar to other people, right? Sky, can you think of other people that it's similar to? I thought... Sounds kind of like Sheryl Crow. Definitely sounds like Sheryl Crow. I didn't think of that one, but that one is better than mine.
Because I was like, okay, some of the style is a little bit similar to the first early Nelly Furtado stuff. That's what I thought. She's just got the whole guitar thing going on. Is that what it is? Reminds me of Cheryl Crow. Well, and the way she got her start is after she was turned down by Idol and didn't even make it through the screening process. She then decided, well, because she writes her own music, that she was going to start posting all her music on MySpace. And then she started to get millions and millions of hits, and then she got a record contract out of it. I feel bad then telling you what I know about her. What? Uh-oh. Her dad. Do you know who her dad is? Uh-uh. Her dad engineered the Fleetwood Mac Rumors album, so... Oh, wow. Oh, well, she had an in. See, that's what I was like, is that it? Whatever about that. Now, she's saying that MySpace... I'm sure she's playing that MySpace thing to the hilt, but does it dad? I heard. What'd you hear? That she wrote her lyrics on Craigslist and emailed one friend who emailed two friends. Those two friends. And then you get like a gift certificate back in the mail? Yeah, I did. That's cool. For a free show. Nice. No doubt about it. That's how she got famous. 30% off at Lowe's. Yes.
No doubt about it, though. When you listen to it, you go, yeah, it's a pretty decent song. Oh, it's great. Now, in contrast, I'm coming out of Stater Brothers. Uh-oh. Totally different time. Yeah, Stater Brothers has a whole different vibe. Totally different vibe. Yeah. But I'm driving out of the Stater Brothers parking lot. Okay. And I hear the new song from Jordan Sparks. Oh, that one. Oh, I don't think I heard it. Eddie didn't like it? That No Air song? Oh, yeah. Oh, that one. Now, here's what I thought, though. Yes. I thought to myself, man, that is extremely catchy. And there is no doubt in my mind that chick's got some talent. I'm not saying Colby Calliat. Doesn't have talent. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that the Colby Calliatt stuff sounds like a lot of people. Does Jordan Sparks count you in, Mike? Yes, she does. That's true. She does not count me in like Colby Calliatt. Now, it is pure formula. It's pure formula. It's like 2 plus 2 equals hit. No doubt about it. I was a sucker for it. I was like, alright. I'll bite.
Yeah, plus he, you know, with Chris Brown, and he's, like, so it right now. Like, money right now. He's the running back for the Tennessee Titans, right? He's with the Texans now, so, but, yeah. He's with the Texans now. Yeah, same guy. I see. I'm black and I'm proud. Thank you. And you go, oh, well, that's a big old giant hit. Oh, yeah. Love it. This one's going out to you, sweetie. He's so mad that Rob is in on this song and out on the new Jonas Brothers. Give me a break. Come on. Come on. You're so different. None of you have given this song burning up. Is it burning up? No, please. You have to give it in a freaking chance. You have a screw list.
neither here nor there. You do not take a bath with rubber ducks anymore. Thank you. Stop it. Thank you. Grow up. You're not wearing underroos. Listen, Mike, you're going to hear it a couple times. You're going to come back on the air and you're going to be like, okay, I'm a sucker for jazz. Your pajamas don't have feet. Well, they should. You don't drink out of a sippy cup anymore. Well, I actually do. I spill a lot. When you go in the pool, you don't have floaties on your biceps. I'll do all that if it means that I love this new Jonas Brothers song. It's ridiculous. Shut your pie hole! It's so good. You're so ridiculous. It is not. You've got to hear it like two more times and it's going to be in your head and then you're going to crave it. And then you're going to want to sing it every time you hear it. Oh, yes. Dude, this sounds like 80s, like... It's the theme to an 80s sitcom. Disney rock. I mean, it's so bad. Please don't talk over it like you did last time. And then, like, towards the middle, Chef from South Park starts rapping. You've got to see her dancing to it, too. She just said, Ashley just...
had the rocks on the radio to say that this is better than Maroon 5. This song is. Oh, here we go. Second verse. Come on, girl. How do you say that? How do you say that? Oh, a straight face. Better than Maroon 5. You're a maroon. I guarantee you, little girls would agree with you. I agree with that. I agree with that statement. That's our point. I agree with him. And they also agree Elmo is the best. That is correct. Yes, they do. They call in, but their parents won't let me use the phone. That's right. They can't reach. They're all using a speak-and-spell to write it and text it. They're texting in right now with their Etch-A-Sketch. Exactly. Yeah, they messed up, so they're putting the sand upside down, you know? You gotta shake it. You gotta shake it. They're busy coloring outside the lines. You're gonna all apologize and feel bad once you guys...
Like, get obsessed with the song, too. It'll get gross on you. Question. I just said something that I confused myself with. Speak and spell. Round, plastic device. You would type in the words and it would go, supper. Yeah. Is that how it would work? Yeah. Yeah. Dietner. Yeah. Was it like that? Mm-hmm. Does anybody have a speak and spell? That'd be awesome, man. Do they still sell that? Like, I bet there's... Do they still sell? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Do they still sell old school board games? Like if I wanted to go buy the game Operation, does it still exist? For real. Definitely. I feel like I want to get it today. They probably fixed the voice on the speak and spell though. Oh, don't. No, no. Don't fix the voice. You can get the original on eBay. Dude, that's the whole charm of it is for it to go Apple. What's the one? The little kids you, when they pull the string and the thing goes around. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. What's that called? What was that? And it'll land on different things. Yeah, like a cow. Yeah, yeah. Cow goes moo. What was that? What the heck was that? I don't know. Speak and say? Speak and pull. I think it was. Yeah. Pull and play. Pull it. Pull it. Jerk and shoot. No, Mike. That is definitely not in my game. That's what it was. The jerk and shoot. Uh...
We'll play that later, Sky. I don't want to play that later. So they went down to the toy store. They bought me a little red box called Speak and Spell. You remember that? Speak and Spell? They shouldn't have called it Speak and Spell, but they should have called it Speak like the Devil. Remember the voice? I know you. That thing was evil. That thing would wake me in the middle of the night, like two in the morning. Play with me. I want to spell. No, right now. That's funny. Oh, and Dane Cook was funny. Those were the good old days. Like 78, 79. I think him and Eddie Murphy were funny at the same time. Wow. What happened? I didn't know. What happened? Oh, he's not funny. Everybody. Like, I'm not kidding you. If you guys were in this room right now, everybody. Sky, Ashley, Eddie. What's his name? Tell me. What's his name?
Larry. He's with Beth. Boy Blunder. He never says a word. What is it? What is it? Pinnuckles. Pinnuckles. There it is. No, that doesn't sound right. It's like four letters. Oh, yeah, yeah. Beth. Beth. Everybody in the room. Sorry. Everybody in the room was like, he's not funny anymore. No. And I'm being completely serious. I didn't know. He's not funny anymore? No, no, not at all. What happened? Movies. Really? He went into movies. Idiots. He ran out of material. He got really huge and there was more demand on him and he didn't have any more material. And so he was performing with terrible stuff. His last four or five specials and things like that were just awful. Plus, his movies suck too. Really? And then even recently, didn't we hear rumors that he was stealing other people's material? Right, Eddie? I had no idea that Dane Cook wasn't still relevant. No, he's done. Did not know. Played out, man. P1 Angie. Okay, I'm calling to defend the Jonas Brothers. I have a 13-year-old daughter. Of course you do. Of course you do. We love them. Yeah, but they're all kids. They're kids.
Your brain is telling you you have to like it or else you go crazy, Angie. Go ahead, Angie. Okay, they're Christians first of all, and they write their own music. That's fine, but it's... See, Mike? Hey, that's fine. All I'm telling you is when you play it, you can tell the music is definitely meant for 12 and under. Yeah. Okay. I'll agree to that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's all we're saying. They're so talented. Angie, have you seen their eyebrows? Eddie's got a point. You can't enjoy anything. There's panic pillars on your face. How many people have to do their eyebrows, okay? That is true. That is true. That is true. You have a point. But they're so talented. Hey, there's no doubt about it. I don't disagree with you that they are talented. I think they're talented, but you've got to be 12 years old to appreciate it. If you're any older than 12, you're just kind of like, oh, I get it. It's for 12 and under.
But listen, I think that they're going to adjust as they move on in their... Sure, reinvent themselves as they grow up. Ashley, have you ever seen the category that they're under, by the way, in our system? They all have categories. CHR. Nope. How's that? I don't know what category exactly this means, but it's K-I-D-S is the category. What does that stand for? Who's called that? I don't know if that's like an acronym. Yeah, maybe it's a station. I think that's a nude. Yeah, but it's N-Y-D-Z. K-I-D-S. I don't know what that's supposed to mean. Listen, I agree with you, but this song has changed my view. Burning up is Kathy. She's a baby. Gotcha. Jesse, are you there? Yes, I am. Go ahead. I'm curious to see if I could donate a speaking spell to you guys. Absolutely. Love for it to be the Michael Show speaking spell. I just got to dig through a couple boxes, but as soon as I find it, I'll get it right to you guys. Yeah, just drop it off at the front desk and they'll make sure to get it to us, bro. All right, cool. Thank you. Awesome. Love to use a speaking spell while we're here on the air. Be fantastic. Let's see. Did I forget anything big? Chris Cornell releases the name of his upcoming solo album produced by Timbaland. Yeah, this is going to be a bit different for him.
Yeah, they haven't released the date yet, but Chris Cornell's third solo album will be titled Scream. Cut 30. A lot to what I describe as sort of the psychedelic aspect of this album. We get it. A Pink Floyd or a Dark Side of the Moon, almost like a Queen at the Opera type of a feel to me. That's something I never would have predicted. You know, I would have felt like I would be the one that would try to go into... the album-oriented rock world, and really it was Tim's influence on this album that pushed it more in that direction. Timbaland pushed it more in a rock direction? That's what he said. Trippy. Dude. Dude's a pop producer. He's smart, though. But he gets it. Yeah, he gets it. Oh, I can't wait to hear that. Because the one thing that I have figured out when it comes to Chris Cornell, if it at first sounds weird, it's going to be good. Because I thought Rage Against the Machine is going to have a baby with Soundgarden. That ain't right, man. That's going to be a weird-looking baby. It turned out the baby was gorgeous. The most beautiful kid. Oh, really? Chris Cornell's going to sing Billie Jean? Yeah, right. Incredible. Amazing. Amazing version of Billie Jean. So he's going to work with Timbaland? All right, I'm in. I'll in on that. You could say he's working with Gary Coleman, and I'll be like, wow, I can't wait to hear it. Let the romance.
Gary Oldman, whom I did not know. I didn't know anything about Dark Knight before I went to see it. Other than it was a Batman movie that had Heath Ledger in it as the Joker and Christian Bale as Batman. That's all I knew, Eddie. That's the only thing I knew. You didn't see Batman Begins? I saw the first half of it. Why would you turn it off? I won't say that, what I was going to say. Smart. Self-edit. I will not say that. Self-edit. I want to hear it. You know what happened, dude? Choose your words, careful. How's fire? We were at a hotel. Fire drill. It was in New Orleans. No, it was here. Remember, you were watching it October 21st. October 21st, I'm watching Batman Begins.
And all of a sudden, you know, danger, danger. Evacuate your home. Evacuate your home. And I'm like, and I stayed. So then why didn't you? I stayed. You stayed? Yeah, well, the evacuation happened at the beginning of the movie. And finally, you know, the flames would look at my lips. And I was like, I got to go. I got to get out. That's understandable. Why didn't you watch it after? Oh, it was HBO Burnt Down. HBO Burnt Down. Sean. I didn't know they were based here. I didn't either. I just found out. A meek attempt. But I'll watch it. Don't. No, come on. Hang on. Is Gary Oldman in Batman Begins? Yes. He is. And he's really good. He's good, man. Mike, I did the same thing. I had not seen Batman Begins. I saw The Dark Knight. And then on my fly home from Utah last weekend, I watched Batman Begins. And it makes... Do you remember how you said you were confused? Totally confused. Right, because there's all these inside... Jokes. Did you understand? What's a comedy? It's a feel-good comedy of the year. Not jokes. Inside, like, you know, things. Yeah, he's just a great comedic actor in that. Yes. It's a sequel. All right, listen. If you watch Batman Begins, it will explain so much, Mike. And then you'll want to go see The Dark Knight again, so you'll get it. Did you understand Batman Begins?
When I watched it, yes, because I had seen The Dark Knight. No, no, no. When you didn't watch it, did you understand it? No, no, no. When you watched it, you understood? Oh, my. That was a terrible thing to do, Mike. You're so mean. What was the point of that, Mike? What was the point of that, Mike? What was the point of that, Mike? What was the point of that, Mike? You know. You're asking me. You understood Batman Begins? Yeah, because I had just seen The Dark Knight. Okay. So, if anything, it was like... filling in all those gaps. It's not rocket science, bro. I'm telling you, Dark Knight to me was like rocket science. Oh, come on. Mike, I agree. I'm like, why are they in China? What's going on? Like, who are the Chinese guys? What are they? What's this plot anyway? Like, what's the plot? Like, who's that guy? Who's the guy in the cape? Dude. I was the same way. You got to see Batman Begins. It helps a lot. I was like, you know, who's Michael Caine? Like, what's his character all about? Who's Lucius Fox? What's the first one? Is that his boss? And then I was like, okay, and so is the guy, the DA, is he good? Is he bad? Exactly. No, I know. That one you're not supposed to know. And then his character, no, that's Two-Face. Two-Face. Two-Face.
Watch it and you'll get it. I don't know, dude. How do you get it? What does that mean? What are you inferring there? It's not personal. It's just business. Let me tell you something. Every time that Heath Ledger says, why so serious? It's the creepiest. He is so good and so creepy. How on the edge of your seat are you every time? That character had a knife in his hand. I wanted to come out of my skin. And I'm telling you. I just wanted to cut myself to get it over with. Sky. I'm telling you. Every time Heath Ledger had a knife in that movie, I thought, I think he's going to, like, as an actor, use it. Because he's so nuts. Like, I believed he was nuts. How about one word? Pencil. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yes. But it's like at the same time, I like wanted to be his friend because he was like funny. He was funny. He made me laugh. I did not want to be his friend. Dude, I thought there was something creepy likable about him. Yeah, I agree. Oh, I agree. There was something creepy likable about that character. And I think it was just his, he was funny.
He was kind of funny. In a crazy way, sure, yeah. No doubt. Like how insane people are funny. And I loved, okay, I loved, I loved the black guy calls him insane and he says, no, I'm not. And when he says I'm not, like, he's mad. It irritates him, like, first of all, no, I'm not crazy. And that kind of irritated me that you just said that about me, is the way he's playing it. Brilliant. Okay. All right. I think you are, though. Yeah, you probably are. I think you are crazy. No way, Jose. It's great. You guys want to hear the YouTube clip of the day? Oh. Is that okay? I think we should do the YouTube clip. Now it's time for the YouTube of the day. I haven't seen it. Sky has seen it and says, you got to see it because. Yeah, Jay from Promotions came in our office the other day and was like, have you guys seen this? And we're like, no. And we were all cracking up. It's just called Charlie Bit Me. Yeah.
Oh, this is genius. Have you seen it, Ash? Oh, it's the best. Just called Charlie Bit Me. It's a couple kids. Love it. Cut 38. Charlie bit me. My favorite part of that is, that really hurt, Charlie. And the funny thing is, is, you know, Charlie's just this infant sitting on his big brother's lap, but the brother is shoving his fingers in Charlie's mouth. And then wondering why Charlie bit him. Charlie who's like literally like six months old. Charlie's six months old. And his brother Forrest Gump. Yeah. And his brother's four. I got to hear it again. Charlie. Charlie. It's all fun and games. Uh-oh. Oh, no. Oh, Charlie. He bit me. Charlie. That is very Forrest Gump.
He's rationalizing with Charlie. Charlie, that actually really hurt. It was funny, Charlie. Now it's not funny. We were having a great time, but that actually really hurt. And with any YouTube clip, it's gotten so big, now there's... parodies of Charlie. Are you kidding me? Let's do a Rob Zeth Charlie. No, please. So who's Charlie and who's the big I don't know, but that's funny. Let's put like a big fake like let's give Rob one of those number one foam fingers that they hold up at like football games. And then Zeth can be Charlie. Yeah. I think you put, like, human waste on the finger. Okay, Eddie, that's not part of it. That's not part of it. I'm not following. I'm not following. I think Mike should do it. I got this, guys. Leave this one to me. No. This is Gary Oldman from The Dark Knight. Oh, yeah. Cut 33. He's talking about Heath Ledger here. I think people are looking in the Heath story. I think people are probably looking for a darker story. You know, he was...
So contaminated by the Joker, the role that he couldn't sleep and he's, you know, all that stuff that people want, you know. But, you know, I didn't see any of that. That British dude right there has played Lee Harvey Oswald and Dracula. Wow. And a black pimp. And a black pimp. He can play a turtle. Yeah. That's crazy, man. He plays Commissioner Gordon. In The Dark Knight. Who's a guy from Chicago. And that's what he really. Gary Oldman's got to be one of the best actors. In the history of the world. That was cool. I think we're done. Charlie. Charlie. I love it. 5701053.
is our phone number. Rachel Ray's launching a line of dog food. Be quiet. It's true, though. It's called her food. No. No, she's put together some recipes for her dog, you know, Isaboo, as we all know. Shut your mouth. And so she's now putting out her own line of dog food and hopes to move on to cat food. Speaking of the Joker. It's going to, dude, it's going to have the dumbest name, like an EVOO type name. Yes. Rachel Ray Nutrish. Oh, shut up. Of course. And he just punched his microphone. Nutrish. Yeah, she can't say any words like the full. I was in on Rachel Ray for about five minutes. My wife remembers. I was in. Yes, you were. Not anymore. It just, it got, I couldn't, you know, lost its luster. Lost the luster. Lynn Reiska, good, close, personal friend of mine. Yeah, your best friend. We're best friends. Yeah, BFFs. I write her all the time. She never writes me back. Oh, wow. She gave birth to a baby boy last week. Maybe that's me. That may be why she's busy. Do we think normal name or Hollywood name? Normal name. Hollywood name. No doubt about it. Normal name. She's weird. She is weird, but... So maybe that... I believe I relate to Mary Lynn Reiskam. You do. And I believe that she is nutty. Weird out there. But I bet...
She hates weird names. I say it's an older kind of name, like Oliver. I would totally believe that. She named her baby boy Valentine Anthony. Valentine Anthony. It's like you don't even know her. It's like I don't even know her anymore. It's really stupid. Mary Lynn. Why would she do that? You need to write her and tell her what's up. Why? Change that name. Do we know why? Maybe it's a family name. Valentine? Maybe her husband's, you know, Italian grandfather was Valentine. Maybe she really liked the movie Trading Spaces. Anyone? Anyone? It's a great movie. Is it? Next time I don't talk. But we're still sitting here. Why was Amy Winehouse...
So an ambulance showed up at her home in London because someone had called them and they rushed her to the emergency room and she had to stay overnight due to a, quote, reaction to medication. Oh, boy. Why? What's the point of that? What is the point of that? They will not name said medication. You know, just don't say anything. She was released this morning and went back home. I don't like it when people lie. 5701053. Just give us a call. And you can talk about anything you want. It's open phones. P1 White Chocolate. Yeah, I listen to you guys at the show in the shop all the time. The guys always joke at me, but when the show's over, it's time to go home. I'll tell you guys can take the rest of the day off after the Mikey show is done. Oh, wow. You're going to give them the day off? Yes, I am. That's a really nice boss. I don't blame you. What a nice boss. You are the boss, right?
Yes, I am. You're a good boss. What if he wasn't? Yeah, what if he was just like co-worker? Yeah, Rob's like, everybody. Take it easy. And a raise. I can't give a raise, but I can't give the day off. That's nice. Hey, you're a good boss. Thank you, dude. Thanks for rocking us. You got it. See you later. P1 T-Bar. Mike and gang, how's it going? Great show today. Thank you. Yeah, I just wanted to tell you and all the other Dark Knight fans out there to give you something else to look forward to. Just wait for the Frank Miller director's cut DVD. Frank Miller director? Frank Miller didn't direct it. Chris somebody did. Chris Norton? Newton? What's his name? Edward Norton. He really did something with it, didn't he? No, Frank Miller didn't have it. Christopher Nolan. Frank Miller didn't have anything to do with it. Oh, wow. I look like a tool. It's all right. Maybe it's a Chris Nolan director's cut.
Maybe it's a Chris Nolan director's cut. All right. I'm getting out of here. I feel like I did. Poor guy. Poor guy was trying. It's all right. It happens. Mikey Show. Hey, this is T1 Ryan. What's up, Ryan? You were talking about that Charlie bit me thing. If Zeph is going to be doing it, it needs to be Charlie Brown bit me. There you go. There it is. There you go. Charlie Brown. Charlie. Have a good one. Thank you, Ryan. Jolly! Mikey Show, last call. Bring us home. Hi, I'm the one that called earlier about the euthanasia of animals. You called earlier about the... She called me. Oh, okay. She did not make it through the phone screener. There's a reason. Go ahead. Yes, I would like to say that how you guys were talking about somebody of a dog bit you and... Some guy called in and said that he would call the Humane Society and have them kill the dog. Did we say that on this show today? No, not today. It was a while ago. Oh, my goodness. I tried calling in, but the lines were all busy. Wait, let me turn off the music. I got to know what this one's about. I got to know what this one's about. A long time ago, we were talking about, oh, I do remember. I said, I think I said it.
You said you'd kick them. You said you'd kick the dog if it bit you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. If I was walking by and a dog bit me, I think it would be instinct to kick them. Yeah. But did I say something about... I think a caller did. No, somebody sent in a text message or called in and said that they would have... They would call the Humane Society and have them kill the dog. I think they were joking. Yeah, I mean, you can't actually do that, so I don't... No, they do not euthanize the animals. They only euthanize them if they have a really bad medical condition or if they're really violent to where we can't get in to feed them or... I thought that they euthanize animals when they're not claimed. Right. No, actually, we have animals here that we've had for months, and then they'll try transferring them to another shelter. They give them a chance before they euthanize them. Okay, but they eventually euthanize them if nobody claims them, right? Yes. Yes. Sometimes. Sometimes? Isn't it every time? Well, I mean, I just saw it on the news about how it's like an epidemic right now. If dogs are not... Because of foreclosures. Do you work for the Humane Society, ma'am? Yes, I do. Okay. If a dog is not adopted, do they euthanize it?
You know, they do, but... Okay, that's all. I was just... I don't know why... Why would you try to hide that? They don't. Well, no, you are. You're being very coy with us. Yeah, you're being coy, but why would you try to hide it? If the Humane Society euthanizes the animals, if they're not adopted, that's actually something you want to let the public know, because then the public would be motivated to go down there and adopt some animals. Yeah. Oh, boy. That's why she didn't get through. Oh, thank you. That's all right. No, no, no, ma'am. Honestly, I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to understand. I'm just trying to understand. Hold on real quick. Does she work there or not? This is so weird. She's asking a co-worker. This is awesome. She put us on hold. This is great. Does she know her life? No, see, if it is a nice dog, it'll stay here.
Forever? For all of eternity? Until it passes away from old age? I'm just asking to double check, but no, they do keep them here. We've had dogs here for two years. Alright, well, there you go. Guess we don't need to adopt any animals. Actually, please do. We have more pit bulls and bulldogs than anything else. Alright, well, thank you for calling. I appreciate the phone call. Alrighty. I just listened. I had a hard time understanding that one. I did, but that doesn't mean that her heart wasn't in the right place. I'm sure she was just trying to figure it out herself. But you should adopt those animals. Yeah, you should. Sammy, shout out. Listen in. In the middle of all of this, Eddie holds up an advertisement for fresh step kitty litter. He's so serious. That shows a digitally enhanced cat.
Putting its little paws over, you know. It's private. The private's like it has to go to the restroom. Yeah, the legs are crossed. The legs are crossed. I think this is the message we're trying to get. Was I mean? Was I mean? You were the nicest one out of all of us. Okay, because I get concerned. Yeah, Rob was the general. Yeah, Rob was the general. A lovely and talented Missy. I'm sorry. A lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. And today on the Nooner, she has full request lunch. So make sure you tune in. Be back here tomorrow morning at 5.30 and do it all over again. The Mikey Show is...
