Well, we lost two good ones this weekend. Both comedian Bernie Mac and singer-actor Isaac Hayes died over the weekend. In full swing, the U.S. leads in the medal count so far with 11. Michael Phelps' quest for eight golds continues as he wins. He wins number two, gold medal number two, in the freestyle relay last night. I think I officially like the Olympics. I know. I say that meaning watching it. It's not like any, I don't think anybody goes, I don't like the Olympics. The Olympics are an American thing. It's cool. It's just that, you know, I'm trying to really watch them. The reason I am is because I remember in 04 when they were on, I kept thinking to myself, oh, well, I got time. I'll check them out. Just not today. And then I never got to check them out. So I'm making an attempt. Now, what I'm all bummed out about is the opening ceremonies, which.
Eddie and I both heard they were great, but we both missed them. Oh, I completely forgot. And then I came into work the next day for the Chargers thing, and everybody was talking about how amazing they were, and there were like these walking boxes or something like that. I'm like, huh? My wife said that the most money ever spent on the Olympic opening ceremonies up until now was $100 million. And I said, when she told me that, I go, A hundred million. I said, what do they do with that? It's crazy. I mean, what do you do with $10,000? What do you do with 10 grand? If it's opening ceremonies, I wouldn't know where to start. Well, let's get some donuts for everybody. Well, I guess in the opening ceremonies, they had the world's largest LCD screen.
That thing was so awesome, dude. And it was like ginormous. Really? Bigger than you can imagine. It was like a quarter of a mile long or something like that. Oh, wow. The really awesome thing was it was flexible, so they could like roll it up on the ends. So throughout the whole show, it was like changing shape and moving around. Wow. It was unreal. Yeah, it was crazy cool. So, Skye. Yeah. How much did this opening ceremony cost? Oh, my God. It cost over $300 million to produce. Gosh. Yeah, three times what the previous largest amount had ever been. $300 million? Yeah. Like, what do you do with it? What is it? I guess LCD, flexible LCD. Well, that thing, that's got to cost. Oh, can you imagine? Dude. $50 million right there? Yeah, that's impressive. Well, I mean, if they give you the budget, you spend it. You say, you know, you use your imagination and you say, well, how much would real pixies cost? You go out and get them. That's amazing. I'm so sorry that I missed it because my wife said, she goes, listen, that stuff to me is whatever. She said, but I'm telling you, it was really, really cool. So now I want to try to YouTube it or something. I'm sure. Do you think they'd show it again?
Rerun it? No? No, probably not. What a bummer. But my dad, my dad said, my dad is so strange. This must be where I get it. You know how it's always opposite. My dad says, well first of all, just to give you a little idea about my dad, he says that he doesn't like Peyton Manning's play action. But that's what Peyton Manning's known for. That's his one thing that he says about him. He goes, well, I like Peyton Manning, but I don't think that he fakes the handoff very well. I could always, and I said, but Dad, that's what he, it's his bread and butter baby. Best quality. Yeah, it's like one of the things he does the best. It's like saying, I like Brett Favre, but I don't like how, you know, he's a gunslinger. Yeah. Well, that's all he does. But that's what he's known for. That's all he does. I don't think that he's a very good gunslinger. Yeah. Well, Dad, but that's what he... I don't think he's that handsome. I don't think he's that handsome. That was good. But yeah, he said that he thought that the opening ceremonies were... We asked him yesterday, what did you think, Dad? I thought they were a little overdone. I mean, that's kind of the point, though. Isn't it, Dad? Is it that you'll go big or go home? Yeah. But he didn't like it, he said. He was not that big of a fan.
Did he say anything about, there were parts that kind of some people interpreted to have like an aggressive undertone. Did he feel any of that as kind of being old school, you know? He bummed me out so bad with his comment about it was overdone. I just kind of looked at him and then, okay, well, I guess that's the end of the questions, you know? Yeah. But what was that, Sky? Well, there was a portion, especially during this whole drumming sequence they did, where they had, Sean, do you remember the exact number of how many drummers there were? I don't know, like 2,000 or something crazy. I remember the total number was 15,000 performers. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, that was all the time. 15,000 performers? Yeah. That's crazy. It was unreal. Yeah, but they did this. But yeah, it was probably somewhere around like 2,000 to 5,000. Okay, so they do this drum number, and it's all these guys with their drums, and they're like drumming in unison. And like.
You know, I heard some reporters talking that like aerial shots of it are kind of like reminiscent of like, say, watching like, you know, I don't know if they use these words, but they were kind of alluding to it like Nazis when they are marching in unison and how precise their movements are and how aggressive and how expressionless it is. And so some people were saying, hey, this is kind of China in a veiled way, showing flexing their communist muscle, their muscle to the world. Hey, world, look how when we band together and try and accomplish something, don't mess around. And one of the commentators was saying that actually during rehearsals, what they had to keep telling the drummers over and over is try to smile because they looked so aggressive. And it was giving off such an aggressive tone that they had to be like, please smile when you do this. Wow. Yeah, it was interesting. Well, hey, listen, if that's what they were putting out there, they kind of got a point since they're kind of catching up with. everyone and everything and yeah well and in population you know no one rivals them yeah so i think there's a i think there's like a hundred thousand people living in china oh my god didn't they like build that stadium that they're doing that at just for the olympics yeah they built it specifically for the olympics and then when the olympics are over they're going to downsize it for a soccer stadium but
Like right now, it holds like some crazy amount of number. It's like 90,000 people. Yeah, they said like 91,000 people were there for the opening ceremony. I thought the Seahawks were going to move there. Wow. At the Seahawks. So, okay, let's do a quick introduction because there's so much news. Like there's so much stuff going on. There are seven of us on the Mikey Show. I'm the host. I'm Mikey. I had a hard time picking clothing today. Really? Yeah, it did. It did. Put a lot of stuff on, took a lot of stuff off. And with each change, I have to reapply deodorant because I'm real mental about smelling good. I know it. So I put a t-shirt on and then I'll take it off and I'm like, okay, got to reapply deodorant because I don't want to lose any in the process. Deodorant doesn't get on your t-shirt ever accidentally? Well, I don't wear the... By putting it on? I wear a...
Menin Speed Stick, so it's not the white, chalky, powdery kind. It's clear, so I don't get anything. I wear clear, and if it's still, like, what? What brand do you wear? Well, the Mitchum right now is what I'm using. Mitchum Clear? Yeah, clear, but it's a gel. Because I know the old school Mitchum was like chalk. It's a gel, and I have to wait for it to dry before I put a shirt on. Or? Or else it's, like, you can see clear, like, stains. all the way down the shirt. What's the point of being clear if it's going to leave stains on it? Yeah, right? I think it's time for you to go men and speed stick for men. Strong enough for a man, made for a man. Really? Do you think that would really work? Maybe it would. I'll try anything. Maybe you should try it and see what goes on. See if anything changes. I don't care. I'll try it. You know? For those of you new... Baking soda. Well, Eddie... Botox. You know what I'm saying? Something. Ashley has a... A lot of armpit issues. Issues, you know. Issues. She sweats profusely. A lot. A lot. And she's tried virtually everything. So please don't suggest anything. Yeah, I've gotten all this. She's gotten about 100 billion emails on the subject. She's tried it all. So I decided on this Tony Soprano number. Oh, a little frock. Yeah, frock. A little tasty smock.
Yeah, Tony Soprano wears those, I don't even know how to describe it. Those bowler t-shirts or like button downs. Thank you. You did good. He doesn't believe me. Why won't he believe me? I'm growing the goatee back too, you noticed. Making you comfortable? Yes, I'm starting to feel bad about life. It's good. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He is 35 years old. He's a good guy. One thing I will say about Eddie is that he is extraordinarily loyal. He's one of those guys where no matter what, whatever situation you're in, he will be there for you. You could call Eddie broken down, side of the road, 300 miles from here, and know if I had the one phone call, it'd probably be Eddie because I know my boy's coming through. He may not dig it, but unlike a lot of us.
Oh, well, he'll be there. That's the thing about Eddie. Skye is our news girl, and she is 30 years of age and is a pretty decent poker player. She's good. Awesome. She knows what's up and lasted a long time when we played in Denver in the poker tournament. How'd you go out? Oh, like what was my hand? Yeah. Well, so I was totally short stacked on chips, you know, and the blinds were getting out of control. And so the blinds were about to come around to me and I got a king 10 suited. And I was like, I just got to go for it. Went all in. One person called me and he had an ace 10 and nothing came on the board for either of us. So his ace held up and he took all my chips and I said, good night. Right? Yeah, because that's about as good as it's going to get, you know? Yeah, what can you do? You did what you're supposed to do. Shawnee, oh boy. Shawnee, do you know how to play poker? Oh, yeah. You do? I would think Shawnee would be a pretty decent poker player. When I get a good hand, I'm terrible. What's that about? Totally reading. Everybody knows it. Really? Yeah. Well, part of it is that he goes, oh, this is a great hand. Oh, I didn't know that.
Plus, I start sucking on my toes. That's weird. It's a tell. It's a tell that I have. It's a tell. It's a tell. Patel. Patel. That's a Patel. Weird. Sean found out the name of his 7-Eleven guy. More on that later. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Ashley is our assistant producer, and she is 25 years of age, quarter of a century old. In the short period of time that I've known Ashley, she has matured a lot. And she has a boyfriend. His name is Mark. I love you so much. If you ask, I'll say yes. I'd do anything for him. I'm his one call, Mike. I'd drive across the world to save him. Across the world. She'd drive across the world.
Well said. Well, what would she do when she hit the ocean? I'd swim, Sky, okay? Okay, my bad, my bad, my bad. If you're listening, man. He's not going to sleep. If anybody's listening, I could write him an email. Just tell him I would say yes. Boston Rob, he is a singer-songwriter. He is 25 years of age. And when I say he's a singer-songwriter, I mean for The Mikey Show. Guy writes songs, sings them, does parody songs, originals. He does it all. And he has the word Boston tattooed on his neck. And, you know, he looks kind of thuggy. He looks dangerous. But what he is, he's a good kid. He's just a good-hearted person. That's right. But to look at him, you'd be kind of, uh-oh. This guy's been in the slammer. Not going down that alley. That's right. For sure.
Same thing with the final member of the Mikey Show, the guy that makes it seven members of the Mikey Show. That is Roosevelt Zethian Oates III, Jr., Esquire, M.D. Rosie. Rosie. 23 years old, tattooed. Same thing, Aryan haircut. You know, just kind of looks dangerous. Weird. Yeah. Inside, though, sweet kid. Just a good-hearted kid. So let's get this show on the road. 570-1053 is the phone number. Call us at the beginning and end of every show. We do open phones. You can talk about whatever you want. Ashley went to the races yesterday. I did too. I was there with my dad and Rebecca. What floor were you on? The third floor. Okay, the most popular floor. Where were you? We had seats on the fifth floor. There's a fifth floor? Yeah. Oh, my goodness. I know. We didn't know either. And we were on the third floor and we're looking for our seats. And they're like, you got to go up two flights. Yeah. You know what they mean, Sky? It's just like at the racetrack, your ground level or then you go up the stairs around the first, second. I didn't know there was five. I thought there was only three. Yeah. We were up real high. You know what, Mike? It was actually I liked it a lot better because last time I went, I was on floor three. But it was way less crowded, really kind of peaceful. Nice little view. Yeah, it was packed.
That thing is packed. Not in the fifth floor. Fifth floor was quiet. No, no, no. I mean, in general. Yeah, in general. Yeah, because in the third floor, it was packed. It looked like the fair was going on when we drove in there, and I was all naively like, what's everybody doing here? My wife's like, yeah, it's kind of popular, this horse racing thing. It's fun. The guy that owns Pample Moose, Jeffrey Strauss, in the sixth race yesterday, he's part in an ownership group. For this horse named Annihilation. Oh. Came in second place. Sweet. Yeah. It's pretty cool. That is rad. My brother and my sister-in-law left on Saturday. And Saturday morning, Jeffrey said, Hey, you and your brother and your sister, you guys want to come see Annihilation. You come to the track and I'll show you. I'll take you through. I'll show you everything. Don't worry about it. Come to the restaurant, and then I'll follow me over there, and I'll show you everything. And I, you know, we went over there, and I learned the horse trainers, they're finicky. Finicky is the wrong word. They're very, they don't like me. Yeah, the horse trainers. The trainers. What are you doing? Yeah, what were you doing to the horsies? I asked questions. That's probably why.
A little busy. Oh, no, no. It wasn't that. He took time to come over and meet with us and everything. They don't want you to ask things. Everything's bad. Everything's bad, Eddie. Everything's bad. Everything's bad. I said, I don't know anything about this thing. I don't know anything. So I want to know everything. So I'm asking questions. You know, how long do they race for? You know, what's their lifespan to race? And, you know, if it's a really good horse, how many times will it win during the season? You know, that I think was one that was really. And he goes, oh, I can't believe you asked. Jeffrey, come on. Get him out. Come on. No way. No way. No way. If you want to get into this business to win.
Blow your brains out of that. What are you trying to do? No, no. And I was like, it's superstition or something. I guess you don't want to ask questions about that. I think it's like calling Barry Zito when he's on the mail. Hey, listen. Who knew? I think it's not. Listen, I figured that. That's a big difference between that question and calling Zito. I think so. Well, I figured it out. I figured out, don't ask any questions. Yeah. Sarah, what is your name? No, do not ask me. I can't believe you would ask these. Shut up. I can't believe you would ask these. I had no idea. I didn't know. I didn't know they were all French either. Mm-hmm. So, it was really neat to see them up close and everything. The animals are beautiful. Did you jump on one? I did not. Oh, you should have. I would have done that. Oh, my gosh. The visual of that almost made poppy come out. Oh, my gosh.
That's hilarious. As we were leaving, I was telling Rebecca, I said, what question would have made him the craziest? I was trying to come up with questions that would have made him the craziest. And so we were trying different things out. This was the one that I thought would be like the best, worst question. Yeah. So out of all of the horses that you have, which one stands the best chance of losing consistently? Oh, no. Yeah. I don't think you'd like that. Runner-up question? Okay. Can you, if I were to invest in one of these horses, can you guarantee I will win four out of five races? Can you guarantee that? I like that, Mike. Need experience. Let's see. Went to see that movie, Clone Wars, on Saturday. This is the animated Star Wars. Yeah. Eddie's really into Star Wars. Everybody relax. There's nothing wrong.
Relax. It's a little strange, though. And this story that the Clone Wars is takes place between episodes two and episode three. Okay? Okay. And so this is before Anakin turns dark and, you know, does all that stuff with the dark side. Right. So, you know, he's still a good guy. And to me, I'm just like thinking the whole time, well, why? Why this story? Why between two and three? Now, this would have made great sense in between those two movies. And which, you know, makes sense to me. I don't know. I'm crazy. But now after three is already out and put this story out, it just didn't make any sense. It really felt to me like. Alright, how else can we bleed this thing dry? Like, where else can we go with this? Well, the last movie was three, and now they're going, ladies and gentlemen, one and a half. Yeah. So, you know, it would have made sense to me if this was the story between three and four. Right. Because that would be really interesting to me. You know, which they are probably going to do anyway. Right. You know, but I mean, it was kind of entertaining, and it was okay. You know what I mean?
There was things about it I liked, things about it I didn't like. It's kind of like how the first three movies are. George Lucas kind of lost his way to me as far as what we loved about the first movies, which were the characters and the storyline and all that stuff, not the whiz-bang effects. the horrendous attempt at comedy. You know, so those parts were in some of the, in the Clone Wars, which were not very entertaining. Oh, boy. So, not the best recommendation. Ah, you know, if you're a Star Wars fan, you know, I wouldn't, you know, you should probably see it, but it's not, I mean, it's a cartoon, let's remember. Right. So, you know, it was okay. And there were people dressed up as this thing. No way. Oh, yeah. Oh, no. Yeah. Zeth went with us and right sitting behind Zeth was a dude in like a full-on Obi-Wan Kenobi cloak. Oh, wow. Yeah, dude. It was odd. He's into it. It was odd. Okay. Our phone number is 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. And so give us a call or text us. We do open phones right now so you can call us about anything you want. I have an announcement.
About the gas monkey. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Yes, yes, yes. The gas monkey will now be. Holy. Yes. You know what? Go big or go home. Thank you. Gas monkey every day this week. Awesome. Every single day. Every weekday. Every weekday. Yeah. Every weekday. Yeah. Yeah. Well, when we're on the air, does anything happen when we're not off the air that the world stops? No, I mean, there's still a day called Saturday and Sunday. What is that all about? Yeah, that's weird. Sandwich them in there. So we're going to tell you today, we're going to give you the location for tomorrow. Where we're going to be. Nice. Where the gas monkey will be tomorrow. Okay. Yep. Should be very cool. Good times. P1 Doc is on the line. Hey, what's going on, guys? Not too much. Hey, Doc, what's a P1? A P1 is a Mikey Show listener who turns on his radio, does not cuss, gets straight to the point, listens exclusively to you guys. Well said. And what were you calling about, Doc? Well, I just asked my fiancée this past weekend to marry me, and she said yes, which is great news right there. Congrats. So now we're looking for a place to hold the reception ceremony, and we're wondering...
since you guys have been in San Diego for so long, if you guys had any good ideas, been to any good ones. And the cool thing is I'm in the military, so I've got access to Point Loma and all the military bases. I just want to get you guys' take on it. I would have to defer to whom I believe is kind of our wedding expert because he just went through this last year, and that's Eddie. Eddie got married last year, 7-7-0-7, and did... A lot of research. Extensive research on this very topic. So, Eddie, what would you say? You know, it depends what your budget is and things like that. But there's a lot of really cool places. If you have access to things in Point Loma, I mean, that is rad. I mean, the Cabrillo National Monument up there is gorgeous. We got married and had the reception at the Bahia, which is really nice off Mission Bay. So, I mean, there's tons of places in San Diego, dude, that you can get married at. Yeah, dude, having access to Point Loma, he's right. That's beautiful. Good deal. When do you guys pick a date? We're setting a date. It's pretty early. It's going to be November 15th. Of 09? What's that? Of 09? No, of this year. Oh, my. Time's ticking, bro. You're getting married in three months? Just about. Wow. Yeah, you shouldn't be calling us. You should be calling a lot of other people. On the phone right now, setting things up.

Fortunately, no one got hurt in this accident, but that's where they are. They're on the right-hand shoulder. You'll see them if you're heading north-wide near Delmore Heights Road, so just keep an eye out for them. Doesn't seem to be affecting traffic too much, though. South 15 starting to slow down a bit coming out of Escondido. You've got brake lights off and on now from the 78 down to Via Rancho Parkway. And heading into Coronado this morning, a lot of traffic on that bridge. Back to full span as a lot of folks head to work here onto the island this morning. I'm McLarenson, Rock 105.3. You are listening to The Mikey Show. Like really good for me? Eddie. When have I ever been overconfident? Hold on, somebody. I'm out. Yeah. Shaking me sound like I'm crazy. I'm out. Be Rizzle. Go me. All right. That's right. Go you. And Ash. I'm a laughy person. The Mikey Show's on. Oh, we are messed up in the head. Rock one over version of it. Or is it Elton John? Welcome back. It is 640. John Edwards admitted on Friday that he had an affair, but denies fathering a baby with his extra mistress. You sure can't pick him. The Chargers beat the Cowboys in their first exhibition game Saturday night, 31-17. You want to talk about picking him? Your boy had an affair while his wife was disabled and then left her. Please. Please. John McCain. Nobody start pointing fingers here. Hey, listen. They're all horrible, okay?
You're just lucky that that John Edwards did not get the nomination because what would have happened if that would have came out now if he had the nomination? Yeah, well, he would have been on an equal playing field with John McCain. Sky wouldn't have changed anything for you. Oh, yeah, and it does change things for me. It does? Yes. Sky, that was her guy. She really liked John Edwards. Yeah, that's really, really bad. And I think Sky said it. It's not just all politicians. Everybody. is bad it's just what you know some people do stuff that you go hmm well i'd never do that but then there's stuff that you do that he might go well i don't do that because we all do stuff uh but anyway so that's the news on john edwards today how did it come out well basically for months and months
tabloids like and I'm talking about the ratty tabloids like the National Enquirer were reporting this that he had had an affair and that he had fathered a child with this woman and he was just staying mom on the whole issue not saying anything and then finally people in the Democratic Party are like hey John dude these rumors are getting out of control will you address them and tell them that they're wrong and that these aren't true and uh he issued a statement this is him on abc's nightline cut 14 let me ask you the question did you have an affair with miss hunter well can i say first thank you bob for coming and uh and giving me a chance to talk um in 2006 two years ago i made a very serious mistake a mistake that I am responsible for and no one else. In 2006, told Elizabeth about the mistake. Ask her for her forgiveness. Ask God for his forgiveness. And we have kept this within our family since that time. All of my family knows about this. And just to be absolutely clear, none of them are responsible for it. Is this affair completely over? Oh, yes. It's been over for a long time. But that is pain.
And I always reiterate this. This is one of those deals where a lot of people go, well, there's one guy that could have kept it from being painful. Absolutely. 100%. All you got to do as soon as those words or thoughts come into your head is ask yourself what mistakes you've not made because you made the right choices. And if you've ever made a mistake, then you have to ask yourself, boy, there's one person that could have eliminated that from happening and that's you. Well, you know, there is one good thing for the Democratic Party. That he's got a smile on his face. What is it, Skye? What is it? She is cute. Are you talking about the woman? Or are you talking about Cindy McCain? Hold on, let me finish, please. You know, the Democrats normally cheat with, you know, kind of fatties. What is he talking about? Mike! Mike!
So this gives them a little bit of a better rap on the street, like street cred. Okay. The street cred. He's working on the street cred. I mean, there is a bright light in this whole thing. A bit of a silver lining, I guess. Exactly. There you go. All right, Eddie. Thanks for that. This next clip, I'm reading the description of this next clip, and I'm like, tell me what you guys think of this question. John Edwards is asked how he could cheat on his wife when she had cancer. Shut up. Oh, my gosh. Please. You might as well be saying, you know, like, how could you? Could you? Wow. Does it make it worse? Oh, I mean. Because you had cancer? Of course. Oh, it just makes you feel.
Makes him feel, I mean. It's like just when you thought things couldn't get worse. Just when you thought it couldn't get worse. Cut 16. She's had enormous sympathy because she's also going through cancer. Yes. How could you have done this? Oh. Can I explain to you what happened? Oh my goodness. First of all, it happened during a period after she was in remission from cancer. There's no excuse in any possible way. Pause. Pause. Don't say that. No, John. Don't say that. No, no, no. Don't say it. Oh, my God. I don't see it. Okay. So, I mean, the cancer wasn't even there at the time. So, it was fine for me to cheat. See, here's my thought. He's not justifying it in any means. Cancer wasn't even there. He's starting to tell how it went down. Cancer wasn't there. He's starting to tell how it went down. I waited. I waited. You know, she was fine at the time.
And it gave me the green light to go out and take down this hottie. Go ahead. I want to know what you think. I don't see him justifying it. I see, obviously, the media is taking this story and going, oh, his wife had cancer, blah, blah. And he's going, this is actually how it went down. My wife was in remission. And then he's going to go on to tell the rest of the story about how he met this woman. So the cancer wasn't even there. It wasn't there. He's just telling facts about when it happened. Then I'm cool. I can do this. He should know how people are going to take that. That was dumb. Nobody can hear him say, well, first of all, she was in remission, and then process that and say, oh, well, I'm glad you cleared that up. No one can. Then all is forgiven. Of course no one's going to say that. What I try to do from the very beginning is take it and say, I feel bad for John that he made a mistake like we all do and it had to be public eye. It's bad. It is. And you know me, man. I'm conservative McServative. And I feel bad for John Edwards. I do because he's a victim of himself.
Haven't we all been there? But at least my wife didn't have cancer at the time. I'm not that bad. I'm kind of bad, but not that bad. Give me a break. This is what happened. I grew up as a small-town boy in North Carolina. Came from nothing. Worked very hard. Dreamed that I'd be able to do something hopeful and helpful to other people with my life. I became a lawyer through a lot of work and success. I got some acclaim as a lawyer. People were telling me, oh, he's such a great person, such a great lawyer, such a talent. You're going to go, no telling what you'll do. And this was when I was 30, 31 years old. Then I went from being a young senator to being considered for vice president, running for president, being a vice presidential candidate, and becoming a national public figure. All of which fed a self-focus, an egotism, A narcissism that leads you to believe that you can do whatever you want. You're invincible. And there will be no consequences. And nothing, nothing could be further from the truth. I will say this. My respect for John Edwards just went up a couple of notches because that's as honest as it gets. Right? Like, I can't even believe right now that he actually said that. Because that's the truth.
That's the truth. I became narcissistic. I became egotistical. I started believing my own headlines. I got full of myself. In other words, I became victim of something called human nature. Human beings, when we get that, after a while, you start to go, wow, my pants are fancy. Look, I have fancy pants on. I'm a fancy pants. I don't think that's any excuse. Excuse? excuse or like explanation like no it's just the truth that's what happened i mean he's a snake in the grass i call snake in the grass i do too like oh you don't think that's true how many people have done the same thing like that's not a reason you don't think that happened i think he's a politician and i think that it could be the truth sure but it's you know it's still like this slick way of saying you know getting out of it you know like it's just i'm not buying it
No one in the world though hears that and goes, oh, I get it. All you can do is just go, wow, that's why. He could have gone like this. Well, you know, it was a time where my wife and I just weren't very close. See, that's what I was expecting the spin to be about his wife and how their battles with the cancer and their relationships suffered. Like, that's what I was expecting to hear. Something. But to him say, hey, I was the egomaniac who thought my S didn't stink. Like, that's crazy. Nobody hears it and goes, oh, then you're off the hook. Well, no, what I'm saying is I would rather say that about myself. than say that, oh, yeah, me and my wife, you know, we're battling and this and that. I would rather put the blame on myself and just go, yeah, you know, I was out of control and I was, you know, believed all my stuff. I would much rather say that about myself. He's being accountable. He's not pointing the finger at anybody else but himself. Sure. And for me, I would rather do that.
And make myself take all the blame here. Don't be mad at me. It's my fault. I'm an egomania. I would rather do that than go on there and be like, oh, yeah, well, me and my wife, we were going through problems. That's just icky to me. Man, I hear the truth. I hear a guy that sounds like he's being honest. I mean, he could have lied. And Ashley's shaking her head like, no, she's not buying it. Hey, listen, Ash, just so you know, there's... there's nothing that he can say that's going to make it right. Yeah. It's wrong. Like hearing that, I guess, I guess it's just different. I didn't, it wasn't like I heard that and was like, ooh, let up a couple notches in my book. Like I heard that and I heard pompous. And I mean, he was being honest, but. Pompous. He's admitting that he was. It didn't make me respect him anymore. The thing that I respect is he's being honest. I always respect honesty. I've written that to you in emails. I've said it to you in instant messages. And I've said it out loud. I always appreciate honesty. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. If he was really being honest, he would be like, yeah, I'm a scumbag. I was a scumbag. That's just my opinion.
That's what I hear when he says that. I hear it. He built himself up before he like... It's politicians speak to me. It didn't do anything for me. To me, it was like I was a jerk who thought my ass didn't stink and mess up. I'll believe you if you say that. You mean you really want him to say the words I'm a jerk and I thought that my ass didn't stink for real? That's how normal people talk. He can't say that on ABC's Nightline. It's politician talk. It did. It sounded like a speech, kind of. I did. Wow. It sounded like somebody wrote that for him almost. Interesting. Wow. Agree to disagree. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see. The lady's name I can't pronounce. R-I-E-L-L-E. I say Riel. Riel? Riley. Riley. Oh, I bet it's Riley. It all sounds good to me, guys. It's a funky way to spell Elias. You work it out, dog. Now he says, they were asking him about, because one of the big things is, is her kid your kid? Right. Big story. Cut 19. I need to ask about probably the most controversial allegation, which is that a report has been published that the baby of Miss Hunter is your baby. Not true.
Not true. Publishing a supermarket tabloid. But no, that is absolutely not true. Does Elizabeth think this is possibly your baby? No, of course not. No way. She knows it's not. How does she know, though? The same reason I know, because it's not possible. It sounds like he's trying to insinuate that there was protection used or something like that, maybe, or that he has a vasectomy. It's not possible. Right. When he says it's not possible. it makes you go, well, how could it not be possible? Unless there's something we don't know. The timeline, because he doesn't say exactly when the affair ended, but it was in 2006 and the baby's five months old. So who knows? We got so much news. We got so much audio. And by the way, weigh in on the topic. 570-1053. Text us 35253. What do you think? When we come back.

Mikey, will Sean Merriman be on the show this season? That's a good question. I don't know. He is represented by CAA, which is like a big Hollywood agency that does like big giant A-list movie stars. And so I guess we're negotiating.
Eddie, do you know anything about it? Yeah, he's going to be on the show. He is? Yes. Holy Toledo. Nice. You know, Sean Merriman will be on the show this season. And I'm very excited about it. Dude, that's awesome. Well, I'm excited about that. It'll probably start when the regular season starts, right? Mikey, I have a question for Eddie. I know the Chargers won the preseason game. How does the Oracle think they looked? I thought it was a mixed. bag. I thought that the first team, especially the first drive, I thought both sides of the football, they didn't look very good. Phillip River's first drive was not good. They got kind of pushed around.
on the offensive line. And then defensively, same kind of thing. They got pushed around by the bigger Dallas Cowboy offensive line. But then they got it together. They put a nice drive together, the second drive. And the rest of the way through, I thought the backups played great. I thought depth-wise, this team's going to be awesome. And there was a lot of starters that didn't play. I mean, no Antonio Gates, no LaDainian Tomlinson, no Nick Hardwick, no Marcus McNeil. So there was a lot of guys that weren't playing. Is their first-round draft pick's name Antoine Kaysom? Yeah. Is he do good? He had a couple of really nice plays, and then the Cowboys started to pick on him because he's a rookie, and he struggled a little bit. But, I mean, overall, he's going to be a good player. That's cool. Yeah. Mikey, at the Olympic Games opening, there were 2008 drummers to match the year. Oh, that makes sense. Yeah. That's right. That's cool. Mikey, can you ask Eddie if the new Star Wars movie would be good for kids? I have five-year-olds. It's P1 Berg. I guess it depends on your own level of parenting. You know what I mean? If you let them watch those kind of cartoons now, then yeah, it should be fine. There's not like...
Star Wars doesn't have weird violence or blood or anything like that. There's battles. There's no curse words. There is no curse words in the galaxy. You can see Jabba's nipples. Oh, that is awkward. That's to each parent to kind of figure out. Yeah, you have to figure that out. But yeah, I think it should be fun. 5701053 is the number. Our text is 35253 if you want to give us a text. Eddie is pointing at Boston Robin. It makes sense. He's the gas monkey. There he is. It's Boston Rob in a monkey suit. That's so funny. It's the best. We send him out in the Rock 105.3 van and he pulls over people that have the brand new Mikey Show P1 bumper sticker on their car.
He walks up to their car with a bunch of bananas. They pick a banana, and the banana has gas cards taped to it. So he goes up to cars and banana hammocks. Yes, he does. No, no, no. I don't think this is a good promotion. This is what I've been doing. It is not a banana hammock. Oh. He is carrying bananas in his hands. Oh, gosh. Now I get it. That's right. That is very different. So embarrassed. Now, B-Rob is going to be out tomorrow as the gas monkey. He'll be in OB. The gas monkey will be in the Ocean Beach area tomorrow between 8 in the morning and 9 in the morning. Looking for those of you that have the sticker. Pretty nice. That'll be awesome. Yeah. And if he finds you and he pulls you over, make sure it's the van that's pulling you over. And he comes up to your car with a bunch of bananas. Can't miss him. Yeah. Cannot. Right. Looks like a big, giant, curious George. Yes. Bye, curious George. This could be true. It was only last week. Okay. Shawnee, oh boy, will be in the studio on Wednesday. Hey. Beg my pardon. Well, that's right. Sean broadcasts from the Bay Area.
Our sound effects guy is in San Francisco in a high-rise building in San Francisco right now as we speak. We're all in studios right here in San Diego. He's in San Francisco. We look at him on our computer monitors. But he'll be here on Wednesday because on Wednesday we're going to be taking pictures for our new billboard. Awesome. Mikey Show billboard, which I will not tell you what it is, but there will be a new Mikey Show billboard coming out. in the fall, and all of us will be on it. Can't give you any more hints other than that as to what it'll be. But Sean is going to come take pictures, and so on Wednesday morning... Oh, yeah. He'll be right here in the studio touching us. No, never. He's a germaphobe. What is your 7-Eleven friend's name, Sean, since you found out? I can't believe you found out. You found out. Yeah, it was kind of a, it was serendipitous, Mike. Oh, look at you. Serendipitous. Yeah, this morning the banana rapist was not working. Yes, he calls the guy that forced him to buy a banana one day. Literally.
forced him to buy bananas. How does anybody force you to buy a banana? Yeah, see if you would like a banana when you check out at the 7-Eleven. And that's the end of it. He said, no, no, you'll have one. And then he went to put it in the bag. And he rang you up for it. So he was giving you a free banana. No, it was not free. He charged me for it. Oh, come on. He said, you will have one. You need to put that guy in banana check. That's right. Banana check him. What's his name, Sean? Maurice. Phil. No. Steve. Joe. Randy. Wilford. No. Abdullah. No. Well, he is... You'll never guess it in a million years. Wolfgang. Is he Middle Eastern? Yeah, he's from India. Oh, he's from India. Oh, India. Pauly. Patel. Arik. No. New Delhi. Youssef. New Delhi. That's weird. What is it, Sean? That's Stevens. Cat Stevens. Is his name Cat Stevens? Be honest. What is his name? His name is Cool Deep. Oh, you didn't ask for his rap name? Yes. Yes. This weekend, Cool Deep spinning them. Awesome. It's Cool Deep and DJ Fresh.
Is that the cologne that he wears? The type of water he drinks? Yes. His name's Kuhl Deep? Yeah. K-U-H-L-D-I-P. Kuhl Deep. How did he come up? How did he come up? Okay, so the banana guy was not there today. It was another guy that I know. He works from time to time. Yes. And he's also Indian. Yeah. And so I said, hey, do you know the guy that normally works here during the week at this time? My best friend. And he said, yeah. And I said, what is his name? And he told me, well, at first he said, why do you want to know? And I said, no, I know him, but I just don't know his first name. Do you work for the government? Yeah. And so he told me.
His name is Cool Mo Deep. And I said, how do you spell that? Is it Cool Mo Deep? Cool Mo Deep. Love them. That's my friend, dude. Sean is friends with this guy. Honestly, not the banana guy. The other guy. I hate that guy. The banana guy only works two days a week. All right. But Cool Deep, he works five days a week, and Sean sees him all the time. They've become very good friends. They were going to meet up on vacation. They were going to meet up in Toronto. That's how little lovers get away. That's right. But Sean didn't know his name until now, and now he knows. It's Cool Deep. I found that from his friend. What a rad name. Nice. Yeah. Yeah, it's kind of cool. 5701053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. It would be nice. Yeah. They don't listen to me, Sky. Oh, my bad. 16 to 7. Welcome back to the show. Let's see. You can give us a call at 570-1053, and you can text us at 35253. Those are the numbers that you need to get a hold of The Mikey Show. Text here, hey, Mikey, can you do your world-famous Bernie Mac impression? What? Too soon? Yes, too soon. That is definitely too soon. I would say yes, too soon. I really do a Bernie Mac impression. Anyway. Sky, why no veal? Does it really matter how old an animal is when you eat it? With that thinking, would eggs be the most evil food around? No, I mean, really.
It tugs my heartstrings because it's just a baby cow, but it's the conditions they're kept in to keep their meat all like... Well, don't talk about that. They're like grated and they can't move around. I don't want to hear it. I want to enjoy my veal. To make it more tender, and I think that's very cruel conditions. It's cruel. So I will not eat veal. As opposed to those great conditions the cows are in. Yeah, the cow conditions could be better. Some... Some are decent, some are really bad. Here we go. But the veal all around is bad, Eddie. It depends on where you get it. Some restaurants are better than others. No, that's not. I'm not talking about the steak. I'm not talking about the steak. Veal parmesan. Veal parmesan. No, thank you. Very good stuff. A little bit later on, Skye is going to tell you about the Metallica tour. Dates have been announced. And yes, there is a San Diego date. Get out of here. I know. Crazy, huh? Yeah. That's crazy! So she'll be telling us all about that a little later on. But right now, what would you think about doing this? Ladies and gentlemen, the Dumb Chick Challenge. This is the way that the Dumb Chick Challenge works.
You call us at 570-1053, and you pick either Sky, Ashley, or Boston Rob to represent you. Three different types of questions the ladies can choose from. They can choose one-point questions, two points, or three points. Ones are easy, threes are hard, and the first person of five points wins. So call us right now and pick your horse. Just remember who's the defending champion. Me. I believe Ashley. That is correct. Ashley. Duh. Is the defending champion. Come on. Break the streak. Two weeks in a row, girl. You can do it. That's right. Virtually impossible. Virtually impossible. Ashley hadn't won in over a year. Yeah. It was awesome. But she's back. Yeah. She's back in a big way. Awesome. The curse has been taken away. That's right. And once the curse is taken away, it's all a win. It's all good. Okay. P1 Quimby is on the line. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. Quimby, was that Clone Wars?
Was she dressed up? No, thankfully. She was not dressed up like a Star Wars person? No. Did you enjoy it, Quim? Oh, God. Oh, that's kind of the reaction everybody's giving us. Jabba has a gay uncle. Huh? Yeah, that is true. Really? Yeah. Didn't know Jabba had a gay uncle. Yeah. Double sleep twice. Well, there you go. It's like my wife at Glengarry Glen Ross. The play. Who would you like to select, Quimby? I choose Ski. Yeah, what up, girl? You got Sky. Quimby. Hang on, next up. Where's the respect for the champ? That's right. P1DI. P1DI. Or DL. Excuse me. Hey, what's going on? Not too much, dude. Who do you want? I want B-Rizzle. B-Rizz. B-Rizz. We have the champion right here. P1 Marcus. Yes, sir. Don't you realize Ashley won last time? Uh, yeah. Okay.
And I'll pull it out again today. All right. I'm just saying you're selecting her last, but you're selecting her. That's all that matters. Yes. Please hang on the line. Come on, Ashley. She can do this. She's got it. She's got it. She can do it. Stop, guys. I mean, where's the face? Yeah, that's right. That's right. Yes, where's the face? But you know what? Ash, that's how you turn them around. Well said. That's how you turn them around. Yeah. Shove it in their face. That's right. You know what it is doing, Eddie, is it's just fueling the fire. Oh, that's right. Oh, I'm intimidated. That's right. Oh, you should be. It is a bit intimidating. I should just forfeit. I heard Baron Grills say that the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. And for you, Ash, that could be. So true. Just answering one question, right? And then you're on your way. Eddie, who starts? Well, I believe last time Sky started. So this time we're starting with the defending champion. Oh. Ashley! Eddie, what's the prize today? That's a great question. That's a good one, Eddie. It's a three-point question. Oh, I know what we got. Well, then I'll answer it. Okay, Eddie, get three. We got a $50 gift certificate for Bucca de Beppo. Oh, Eddie's in the lead.
$50 to Bucca. Let me tell you something. Eat it. That's a lot of chicken arbiata. That's right. I don't know what that is, but yum. All right, let's do this thing. Ashley, what would you like? A one, two, or three point question. Oh, look at her. This is shocking. Look at her. She's looking at Eddie. She's smiling, but nervous. I can tell. I can see it in her eyes. She's nervous. She's looking at Eddie, her brace coach. Eddie is talking to her right now. He's mouthing words to her. He's giving her hand signals. She just adjusted her bangs and she wants a two-pointer. It's shocking. She's playing it safe right in the middle. It's not a one. It's not a one. It's not a three. I don't know. Cry, cry, cry, cry, cry, cry. Come on. All right, here you go. Here you go. Come on, Ash. You can do this. Pay attention. Ashley, the largest baseball bat.
is located in what U.S. city? Now, think about this. Think about this. Ash, yeah, think about it. The world's largest baseball bat factory is located in which U.S. city? Eddie is holding a bat. He is showing her what the bat looks like. Eddie is even... Kind of swinging the bat back and forth with his wrist. It's a pen, Mike. It's a pen. It's your imagination here. Now, Ash, you've just seen Eddie do that. Did it help? No, she's looking at her nails. Looking at her nails. She didn't know that there was baseball bat factories. She didn't know that there was baseball bat. What? Factories. She just thought they were made by lightning. I mean, did you think that they watered them and they grew out of the soil? How do you think baseball bats? Come on now. So you want to know the state or the city? I'm going to read it to you. One more time and I got it. We're going to go for it. You got this, Ash. If you think about it, you got it. Got it. Come on, girl. The world's largest baseball bat factory is located in which U.S. city? She's putting her hands up to her eyes. The sides of her eyes. Her fingers are up to the sides of her eyes. The defending champion.
I will say Austin? No, Ashley. It's not the Austin Slugger. Was it Wiffle, Vermont? Come on, Ashley. Think of the baseball bats, and they're called... They got the name of the city, and then Slugger. Graphite? Kentucky Slugger. No! Well, the city. Oklahoma. It's in Kentucky. It's in Kentucky. Hey, great. So it's in Kentucky. Oh, no. Famous city in Kentucky. Oh, now you got her. See, she was hoping you wouldn't do that. She was hoping you wouldn't do that. Ash, it's the Louisville Slugger. It's in Louisville.
She's giving that look right now. Now that I hear that, I'm like, oh, sure, but there's no way that I can ever retain that type of information, Eddie. It's too specific. Okay, well, specific information is very... Vague information, I'm really good at. I feel that. Right? Yeah, I'm with you. Thank you. All right, Boston Rob. Come on, Riz. What are you going to do? Go big or go home. Okay, let's go three. Oh, my God. I didn't think he was going to do that. Thank you, Eddie. Why would he do it? I don't know. He always does it, Skye. Every week he does it. Let's see if he can answer this question. The hardest ones that we have are the threes. So, Rob, the world's busiest flight route, the one that carries the most airline passengers per year, the fact that carries three and a half million. Name one. Of the two cities it connects. Wow. Oh. He should know this. Busiest. The busiest flight route. Three and a half million people travel on this flight route. What is it? Just one city. Give me just one city. Shot in the dark. I'm going to go with my hometown, Boston. Oh, geez. Here we go. Wow.
Have you ever been to Logan? It's got to be huge. Yes, we have. It's not that busy, man. Oh, my God. It's not that busy. It isn't. We're going there at 6 in the morning. I'm telling you right now, it isn't. Been there many times. At 6, though? What time did you go? 6? No. 6 in the morning. How would I go? I've seen about 3.5 million people go through there. Seen it? Rob. I don't know. London? Yes. Oh, why are you too late? Really? You said Boston. All right, London. Final answer, Mike. London to Paris carries three and a half million people in a year. Isn't that crazy? That is crazy. Sky is up. Oh, boy. Here we go. Gee, I wonder what she's going to say. Well, she always goes 2.2.1 point. She's shaking her head yes and smiling. She's shaking her head yes and smiling. She's shaking her head yes and smiling. Like chicken and waffles. I got a touch of the moon days. Me too. I got the cure for it. I got the cure. I give you a three-pointer. It just shakes things up. Go for the gold. Come on, Skye. Don't go for the bronze. I will go for a two-pointer. Okay.
Silver. I love the silver. Sky, which organ in the human body is the most commonly transplanted from one human to another? Totally expressionless right now. I wish it was the brain. Oh, look, it's so funny. Is the wallet a human body part? It is for me. Okay. It's attached to the hip. That's right. Mike, I'm going to say kidney because you can spare one. You are correct, Sky. I mean, it's not even fun anymore. On the board. Come on. Watch this. Defending champion. Ashley. Total sad puppy dog look. She's looking at Eddie and shrugging now. There's a little bit. There's a smile. There's a little bit of a smile. What are you going to do here, Ash? We need some momentum. Tossing her hands up. What do you want? Sounds like a case of the Mondays. What are you going to do, Ash? Ashley, what's the song they play?
Graduations? What's that called? What's that song called? What's that called? Wait. Eddie's shaking his head, no, try again. No, Eddie's shaking his head, no, try again. Maybe it hurts. Yeah, they play this at mine. Now that's the theme to The Bachelor. Sorry about that. This is the most dramatic dumb chick yet. What's that thing called? You want to know what this song is? What's it called? What's that song called? They play it at the graduation. I'll hum it for you. Okay. It goes like this. Not exactly. She's even tone deaf when she hums. Oh, she's taking the headphones off. It helps her to think. She doesn't want to hear us joke around. That's right.
She's thinking, she's turning her head away, she's squinting. Here comes the answer. I mean, isn't it the name of our band? It's some kind of, um, some kind of, you know, ballad. Oh, I need the name of it. The name of it. I don't know, Mike. The Batman theme. I don't know. I don't know. You do know. You do know. Ash, it's called Pomp and Circumstance. Yeah, they call this, it's a very famous piece of music. Never heard of that in my life. Oh, wow. I never heard of that in my life. Ashley, yeah, now you know. This, whenever anybody's in. What's that? Pomp and Circumstance is that name of this right here. Pomp and Circumstance. Yeah, you can use it now in jokes when you're making a reference. That makes a lot of sense. Yeah, it's like Pomp and Circumstance around here. Oh, boy. Well said. Pomp and Circumstance.
She gets mad at it. Rob? He's still competing. Go big or go home, right, Eddie? I don't know. He's about to go home. Okay, fine. You can do it. That didn't sound very convincing. Did you hear the last answer? Boston? That's right. I'd go home. I'll go three. All right. Oh, you. All right, fine. You might get this. Yeah. All right, Rob. What advisory group composed of the commanders of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines counsels the president on military affairs? Oh, I got no idea. They call that. They call that. Come on. This guy's got to look like she might know that one.
No, Scott? Oh, that was not that long. That was like, what are you talking about, Miguel? She's gassy, really. Yes. Yes. Rob, think about this. Is it the Patriots? Yeah. Is it Bill Pastels? He's like a... Tells everybody what to do. Rob? One more time. All right. Rob, what do you call that group composed of... The commanders of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines that counsels the president on military stuff. What do they call that? I want to say the A-team. I think you're getting close. Skye's got her hands up to her face like Macaulay Culkin. The chief commander group team. Oh, Rob. You're going to be so irritated. You're going to be so irritated. The A-chief commander team. You're so close, Robby.
How many guesses is he going to get? Right, please. The Joint Chiefs of Staff. No, he's not smart. He's not getting them. That is weird. I knew that last one. You did the one before. After we told you. Sky, what are you going to do here? Are you going to do your normal? Oh, she wants it too. She just held up the peace sign. She just meant to say peace, but she's going to take a three-pointer. No. You want it too? I want peace and I want a two-pointer. Fine. These are things I want. All right, Skye, this question's in the same vein as the last question. It's just different. That's Joint Chiefs' Staff. No. Skye, if the president and vice president died, who'd take office? Uh-oh. She's... John Edwards' bastard child. It would not be. No, it would not be. Are you sure? Yes, check the facts. Wikipedia. It just got in the Constitution. Well, I believe I've watched enough 24 to know the answer to this question. Is she...
kidding me with that. Okay, so if President Palmer, if something, heaven forbid, happens to President Palmer. This is how she gets stuff. Or President Logan. I mean, it depends who's in power at the time. Or President Tango. Who cares? Obviously, you don't watch 24. I will say the Speaker of the House. You are correct, Scott. This is so boring. I mean, she is getting so good at the... I mean, she gets her knowledge from... Oh. Well, one's points are awarded. Oh, Eddie just threw his pin down. I messed it up. I asked her. Maybe I should ask her another one. She's going to get a one-pointer. That's my fault. Do you accept that? I will take the one point for that. On behalf of Mike's buffoonery. Yes. Ashley looks nervous because she knows she's up.
Ashley's up. Oh, she just furled her nose. Is she okay? I don't know. This guy's going to win. Who cares? This is ridiculous. Come on, Ash. Don't read into it. Don't try to analyze Eddie Mouthing. Who cares? No. If the president and vice president died, he'd be... No. Come on. Branch of mathematics commonly uses letters to represent variable numbers. Look at that face. Oh, she's sitting up. She's perking out. She's smiling. She's perking out. What brand of mathematics? What branch? Kellogg. Yes. Beastie, beachie. I am going to say chemistry. What the heck is she doing? Mathematics. Mathematics.
Not science, mathematics. Let her try again. She must have misheard. You do math in chemistry with letters. That was delightful. But if you're just thinking about different types of math... Right now, Sean has both of his hands pressed up against his forehead. Like X squared, A plus B equals... Mike. Those are equations. She took... She had to have taken that to get into college. I mean, you have to. This is not a joke. She was on the dean's list. She was. She showed me the paperwork. Go ahead, Ash. Mommy dropped out of college. I'll kick it off of that. And for the record, she didn't take maybe one math class in college. And that was like five years ago. This is a required course to get into college. We're not asking you a problem. We're just asking you what it's called. What math classes did you take in high school? What kind of math did you take in high school? It was like an intermediate math class. What was it called? I don't remember. I don't know any math class you took. You had to. This is a required course. This is a required course.
in it. You did it. I did. We can look it up. It's an addition. There, I said it. We had a great teacher. It was a really good class, but it was like some intermediate math class. It was probably called Algebra. The light just went on. The light just went on. That was the answer, Ash. It was Algebra. That makes sense. That teacher let you down. There are people skidding off Interstate 5 right now. She is my favorite. Rob, please. Rob, what will you do? A two-pointer. Okay. Rob, what woman was the first black Miss America? Don't even finish it. Oh, come on. Oh, jeez. Oh, another black question. Team Elijah Austin.
What woman was Miss America? What woman was the first black? Too soon. Too soon. Eddie, I mean, I don't think it's even been 24 hours. So you're saying too soon. Yes. The answer is yes. Too soon. Now I know. All right. Okay, he's legend. Too soon. Still too soon. Rob. What woman was the first Black Miss America, but she was forced to resign her title in a controversial manner in 1988? Estelle Getty? No. No, that is incorrect. The answer, Vanessa Williams. Who? Oh, Rob. You know you have all her albums. Don't try to act like you don't know who she is. Oh, yep. She's married to Rick Fox, right? They do those commercials? You know you, Tivo, Ugly Betty. Thank you. I want the question Rob just had. Well, Skye, all you need now is a two-pointer and you can win. You get a two-pointer right, you win. Yep. Skye? No one calls it that, Eddie.
The two-point question is, what state is known as the Hawkeye State? Oh, okay. Oh, look it. There's something in there. I think she might have this. Is it mash? Come on, Sky. What's the Hawkeye State? Can she come back over here? Skye, where did Skye go? Oh, she's turned completely around in her chair. She had the elbows on the knees. She was thinking. Well, because I know there's like a sports team. And their mascot is the Hawkeyes. Yes. Because the eye of the hawk is their mascot. What? She's thinking. Eyes closed. Right hand to the face, she's thinking. And she's about to proclaim it. It's in my head now. I thought it was going to be in there, but it's not. So I will guess Canada.
Arizona. No. Sky. Iowa. Oh, that's what I did. You got a college team, right? All right. Everybody stop fooling around. As you're driving, it all goes down and joy. Lyrics. I see the passing of ice. It's all a sweet surprise. Black girls. Missing Mariah. That's right. All right, Ashley. What's that? You're up. What's that? Eddie's giving you the signal. He wants you to go. You know what time it is. You know what time it is. Ash, it's an animal question. You might actually do it. It's an animal. Ashley, this is a question about animals. She's pumping her fists. Giant smile on her face. Are you ready, Ash?
Ichthyology is the study of what? She's doing rain fingers. Can you spell that? Yes. Country of origin. Algebra. Insertion, please. What? I-C-H-T-H-Y-O-L-O-G-Y. Is the study of what? That's right. Species. Is the study of what? Ichthyology is the study of what? It's the study of, now this is not my final answer, but salamanders, which are in what? Eddie couldn't contain himself. Eddie couldn't contain himself. He couldn't contain himself. I was trying to keep a straight face. Even Sky right now is stifling. She's stifling a laugh. She's stifling a laugh. Rob, for the record, emotionless.
I tried so hard. Ashley just mouthed the bad word in frustration. In frustration. In frustration. She's so frustrated with herself. Oh, she is the best. Salamanders. Come on. What kind of animals are salamanders? Rob. Rob, be quiet. I can't help. I mean, out of every possible... I mean, Mike even gave her a hint. He told her it had to do with animals, you know? Ashley, I need an answer. Ichthyology is the study. Ichthyology. Ichthyology is the study of what? Ichthyology is the study of animals that are in water, which are called not mammals, but the other ones. Fish. Yes, Ashley. Yes. Eddie, what's the score? What's the score? We now have a tie ballgame. Three points for Ashley. Three points for Sky. I knew it. No points for Boston Rock. No points for Rob. I knew it. Rob, come on. You can catch up right here and tie. So what are you saying? Take a three-pointer? Yeah. Okay, deal. What? Let's make a deal. Done deal. You're doing something? Yeah, yeah. You got it. Are you ready? Watch this.
Observe. Okay. What is he doing? It's a history question. Oh, yes. It's your fortune. Oh, yeah. You watch the history channel this weekend? Not at all. Okay. Rob, I guarantee you that this is a history channel type question. This has probably been, there have probably been specials on this. Uh-oh. A lot of food network this weekend. Uh-oh. What'd you watch on there? Restaurant Vamp. You guys seen that? Never seen it. Oh, it's so good. Your question, Rob. Okay. Which president came up with the idea of the Panama Canal? Oh, look at him. He's going, hold on. He's putting his hands out. Hang on a second. Let's calm down. Maybe it's up there. What is he drawing? Boston. He's drawing it. Is that necessary? Yeah, if you draw the canal out, it makes you think of the president. It does. But why? He came up with the idea. Because it looks like the president.
He's getting into the mind of what that president must have been like. Looks like a cowboy boot. JFK was the Cuban Missile Crisis. The horse. That tastes like horse. It smells like horse. Panama. It's a boot. Panama. JFK. What kind of animal does Greece come from? What's the name? Was it Harry S. Truman? I don't know. No. What? It was Harry S. Truman. It was Theodore Roosevelt. I almost didn't say that either. That would have never crossed my mind. Sky, you can end the game right here with your two-point question. This is going to end the game. What Nevada-located military base is said by conspiracy theorists to house alien spacecraft? What's that called? Area 51. Ladies and gentlemen.
Sky has won for the umpteenth time. That's right. She did. Ash, top two. Let's see. Sky won for you. I can't believe it. She's the power of the ham. That's right. Oh, yes. Over the 52 towards Governor Drive on the main line there. South 15, pretty tough out of Escondido. Off to 78, crawling down the Via Rancho Parkway. Got some brake lights along the coastline now to deal with this morning. Southbound side of the 5, a little tight from Santa Fe Drive down to Manchester. 8 Freeway looking good into the valley. The westbound 94 King Freeway. You're going to find just a bit of delay at the 15, making that transition. And coming up out of the South Bay, watch for a slowdown. 805 northbound, just a little bit here around Home Avenue. A little bit again into Kearney Mesa. I'll make that to North Park. And then you've got that jammed up stuff, as I mentioned earlier, in Kearney Mesa. Don Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Isaac Hayes passed away. If you didn't hear the news, Isaac Hayes passed away. And do we know how old Isaac Hayes was, Skye? Yeah, 65 years old. Wow. And of course you know Isaac Hayes from South Park, cut 13. It's just awful, Chef. I used to feel like an outsider, a totally different person who stood out in this town. Now every straight guy is acting gayer than me. Well, what do you want me to do about it? Chef. What did you do when white people stole your culture? Oh, well, we black people just always tried to stay out in front of them. How did you do that? Well, like without slang, black people always used to say, I'm in the house, instead of I'm here. But then white people all started to say in the house, so we switched it to into his house. His house became his his house, and then white folks started saying that, and we had to change it to his age.
Then in the hizzle. But you had to change the hizzle for zizzle. And now because white people say hizzle for zizzle, we have to say flippity floppity flute. We don't have time for all that, chef. Oh, if only those queer eye for the straight guy people understood what they were doing. Wait, that's it. I know exactly what to do. Come on, Mr. Slave. Let's get back to our flippity floppity flute. Oh, no. Don't call it that. There it is. Eyes and gaze as chef. Wow. And Bernie Mac also passed away. Two deaths over the weekend. Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes. Some of the text messages that we're getting this morning. I didn't give a time check, by the way. It's 8.09. Matthew McConaughey did an interview with CNN where he talks about keeping the placenta from his son's birth and planting it in an orchard. And I'm supposed to follow that out.
Well, Faith and Begora, Padraig Harrington wins back-to-back majors coming from behind to win the PGA Championship. Nice. Paddy says it was a huge victory for him. You know, obviously, things like that will take time to sink in. At the moment, I'm just enjoying the PGA win for the PGA win. I did, of the three you said there, I really did like the fact that no other European has won two majors consecutively. That's... Because obviously I hold a lot of European players. I'm giving this press conference on a pot of gold. To believe that I achieved something that they hadn't is very special to me. Mikey, does Ashley know salamanders aren't fish? It's a text message. I don't know. She doesn't know. Yes, I do. She does know that. Mikey, seriously? Chemistry? My favorite science class was the Civil War. Signed P1 Justang. Come on. Mikey, can you please use an Isaac Hayes music bed today in honor of Isaac Hayes? Done and done. Mikey, can you ask Eddie what he thinks about Brock Lesnar? That's P-1. Eddie, what do you think about UFC fighter Brock Lesnar? Well, okay. Why? Did something happen? Why are we talking about it? Well, Brock Lesnar is the former WWE heavyweight champion who decided to, he wants to be an MMA fighter. All right.
He is gigantic. He has to cut weight to get to the heavyweight limit of 265. Come on. So he used to be like a pro wrestler. Yeah, he was the heavyweight champion for some time. And so, you know, he had his first MMA fight, which he lost. Well, first UFC fight, which he lost because he got caught in a submission. And this time, I don't think there was any chance of that happening. He was... determined to kill this guy. First couple seconds of the fight, this is what happened. Cut 60. Why the UFC is more popular than boxing? Listen to the electricity in that clip. One punch and he just destroyed this guy. Here's the deal with Brock Lesnar. His hands are so big. He doesn't fit in the extra large gloves that the UFC provides. He has to have specially made triple X gloves to fit his gigantic hands that he has. Is it on YouTube or can they not do that? They're not allowed to, but you can go to UFC on demand and probably watch it. I want to see that. He's so fast and so big and so scary that he just totally dominated. Where was it this time? Minneapolis.
It was pretty good fights. Let's see. I guess Brock Lesnar's from Minnesota. Yep. Cut 61. I think a victory anywhere is sweet, you know? But, yeah, it was really cool for Dana to bring this show here and to allow me to prove myself in my home state. Unbelievable, man. I mean, that electricity that you hear in those clips, man. UFC is an exciting sport. So exciting. It's the best. It is. Who else was fighting? Got George St. Pierre. He fought in the main event, defended his title against John Fitch. St. Pierre dominated the fight, but, I mean, you got to give credit to John Fitch for hanging in there. I mean, he never, never went out. And, I mean, George St. Pierre hit him with everything. And the guy lasted a full five rounds. Wow. Here's George St. Pierre talking about it. Cut 64.
After the third round, I was looking at the clock, and John Fitch, he never died. You know, I tried to finish him many times. After the first round, I tried everything. I saw him, like, fell down and come back. I was like, my God, what am I going to have to do to beat this guy, you know? This guy? This guy is so difficult. I had so much fun. I tried to eat him like a tomato, and I don't know English very good. I hope the translation works. It was delicious. To eat him up with one bite. It was so fun watching football again. I love seeing football on the television screen. Especially the Chargers, man. Chargers won. They beat the Cowboys. Oh, dude. Eddie, you would have been so mad. And it didn't happen. It didn't happen.
Had it happened, I would have been really angry. It didn't happen. I'm going to tell you beforehand, it didn't happen. But I actually thought to myself, if that had been, if Eddie were here right now. I don't like this already. Saturday night, myself, Rebecca, Lori, and Kimbra. Of course. went out to dinner. That's right. So emasculating. And you know what's even more emasculating about it? That I go out with them. I love talking with them. I do. I am. I'm like one of the girls and I love it. Like, you know, my girlfriends, they're, it's fun. Yeah. And they don't care, man. They don't hold back with the girl stuff, you know? Well, you have the Samantha of the group in there. Yeah, I'm the Samantha of the group? I don't know. No, you're not. You're probably... You know how you're gay? I'm Charlotte. I'm good Charlotte. I'm good Charlotte. I'm good Charlotte. Sounds gay. So cute. Well, we all went out to dinner. And they like to go to two places.
They like to go to Sammy's Wood Fired Pizza and California Pizza Kitchen. Oh, variety. Okay. And they don't ever want to go to any other place besides that. I support that. That's the only two places they ever want to go. And they don't like it when I make suggestions. And they don't like it when we have to do anything different from that. But I said Saturday night, I want my way. I did. Charlotte doesn't talk like that. You're going to get kicked out of the group. But I said to them, I want my way right now and then you guys can have your way for the rest of the year. What do I care? And they said, okay. So I said, I want to go to Tony Roma's. They're girls. They don't eat ribs. You are the worst. That's ridiculous. You're really horrendous. I know it. Ashley, you eat everything. What? They've got great rolls there. They do. The bread, the brown bread. It's like squaw bread. It's delicious. It's like right out of the oven. I haven't been to Tony Roma's in 20 years. I hadn't either. How's the vegetarian plate there? I hadn't been there forever. And let me tell you, it was really good. Really? It was really, really good. Like, I really loved it. What did the girls think? My wife hated her pizza.
My wife goes to Tony Roma's and gets a pizza. Yeah, because they were planning on either going to Sammy's or CPK. Yeah, go to On the Border and get spaghetti. What the heck? So she, Rebecca, hated her dinner. And Kimbra and Lori loved their dinner. Now, we walk in there, Eddie. We walk in, we see the game on. And I instantly turn my head. I don't want to see. the tv and i don't want to see the score i don't because i'm t-bowing it i don't want to see anything and the hostess is this very young girl she you could tell she's young probably like 19 young okay and says um she says what what we they were laughing because i was turning my head the girls were laughing my girlfriends yeah we're laughing
And the hostess says, what are you guys talking about? And she says, one of them says, oh, he doesn't want to look at the TV because he's taping the game at home. And the girl says, oh, well, Dallas is going to win. And I didn't know, I didn't really catch what she said. And I go, huh? And she goes, Dallas is going to win. So obviously she's a Dallas fan for whatever reason. And I said, oh, yeah, yeah, whatever. So she takes us to our seat and we sit down. And she says something to give away the game. She says something to give away the game thinking it's funny. But I didn't hear it. And so she walked away. And I thought to myself, first of all, if I had heard it, it would have really bothered me a lot. For sure. If I had heard it, it would have bothered me. Because in guy world.
That's not funny. No, that's not so uncool. That's not funny. Now, I don't know about Girl World. Girls may think that that's funny, but I don't think they do. I don't think that's funny at all. You guys don't think that's funny, right? No way. And so I said, I go, what did she say? And my wife said, I don't know, but it was something about the game, so you don't want to know. Eddie, what would be the penalty if it had been heard and it was giving the score? I take into account it was preseason, but it still would have bothered me. I would have said, you know, like, hey, don't, you know, like, there was something said about me not wanting to know. Yeah, like I did by turning my head, you know, and the explanation. And the message was, got across to her that you didn't want to know. Right. I would have probably left the restaurant. Really? Yeah. That is a, that is a good one. That is, I think that's fair. And be angry. I was going to say prison time. Well, yeah, I mean, I was going to say death penalty. Yeah, I think prison time should definitely be. And you got to adjust that tip too, Mike. Oh, that's the hostess. Yeah, please. Doing that actually has a name. It's called pulling a loo bush is what they call that. They call it pulling a loo bush. When a person gives away. Oh, that is true. When a person gives away. They can't help themselves. Something that you don't want to know.

What day of the week is that? Who's got a calendar? I got one. Okay, December 15th. I remember last time they were here, there was a sports arena. I wonder if that is an upgrade or a downgrade or what the deal is. Monday. 15th of Monday. Oh, yuck. That's a weird night for a concert. All right, but December 15th, Metallica. And as of yet, I haven't seen the on-sale dates for that, but we'll keep you updated once we know when those tickets are going on sale. There it is. Sky. Tell me about the guy that impaled himself on a fence in Philadelphia trying to get away from police. This is weird. So it's this 19-year-old dude in Philly, and he is riding an ATV. An ATV? Nice. I don't know if he's driving it on the street or whatever, but they say he... His moped was in the shop. Oh, okay. Well, then that makes sense. Yeah, so he had to take it. Duh. So I guess he crashed his ATV right in front of a police car. And then got off the thing and just took off running. So obviously the police are going to chase him. Yeah. Yeah. So he was running and running. And then he came across. Is it on YouTube yet?
I haven't seen. Every second is captured by YouTube. Yeah, I'm sure it is. I'm sure it is. If there's a dispute over what you had for dinner last night, just go to YouTube. It's probably on there. Yeah, I'm sure it is because the video is on the news site because, you know, it took a while to get to, you know, fix the situation. So I'm sure the video cameras were coming out. But, yeah, so the dude is running and then he comes along one of those rod iron gates. Yes. Don't. That's when you stop. It's a little bit more than waist high. I'd say it's like halfway maybe on the chest high. Rod iron fence means I'm going to jail. That's what rod iron fence means. It means, oh, I got to go to jail now. So from looking at the one picture I saw, it looks like he... You have a picture? Yeah. It looks like he was trying to hop it. So he put his hands on the top of it and was going to push himself up and go over it. Oh, no. Well, he went up. and came straight back down on the top of it. On where? On the top of it, which looks like normally the tops come into, like, little spikes or whatever. Yeah. What part of his body? Like, the upper abdomen. Oh, my gosh. We got a bleeder! So, it looks like about three, because the gate has, like... SMTL. Send me the link. I'll send you the link. And I think the link... That video, too. But anyway, so what they ended up having to do, there were, like...
six posts and it looks like about three of them were going into him. Oh my gosh. So what they had to do is come out and cut the rod iron so it was still in him and then take him to the hospital with the rod iron still in him and then fix him up. Can you imagine what it must have felt like when they were sawing through the rod iron and it's vibrating your body? Sneak me off. Yeah. Calm down. That could not have been a pleasurable experience. Stop, because it's creeping me out. Rod iron fence. I'm going to jail. Not, I could do this. No. You should never think to yourself, this is easy. Right, I got this. It's not. What the hell are you doing? It's not. It's not. It's not a good idea. It's not smart. It's not. It's definitely snot. Sky just sent me the link from NBCSanDiego.com. SMTL. SMTL. Send me the link. Oh, Sky. Let's see. I have to watch a video first on Lexus before it shows me. But did you see that picture? Of the Lexus? It's beautiful. It's absolutely gorgeous. I can't fault anybody for it. The guy with the stuff in it. Oh, my God. Oh, wow.
It looks like he's having to hold himself up so he doesn't completely... Go in. And how long can you hold yourself there? Yeah, because it looks like he was probably mid-jump, so his feet are off the ground. Sky, hook it up. Uncut video. Fleeing man impaled on fence. Anything else, folks? I'm leaving. No, Bill, you can't. You have to see this. I'm sorry. You have to see this. This is the deal, bro. A little Neosporin on that, you'll be fine. Oh, no, you won't. I don't think Neosporin's going to do it. I beg to do it. I think this is going to be over real quick. Wait a minute, Coach Parcells. We're talking about a man that was impaled on a fence. We are going to talk to the gold medal winner. The reason that you're hearing the audio of the Olympics is because it just unpaused. I had it paused. I'll tell you why in a second. There's something. Oh, my gosh. I'm looking at the video. I can't even see this. I'm not going to watch it. I'm not going to watch it. I'm looking at the video. I almost cried. No, Mike. Is he laughing?
He is not laughing. He is, as I said, holding himself. You know when your arms start to shake because you're getting tired? Yeah. Well, he's holding himself there because he's impaled and he doesn't want to let go because obviously he'll slide further down. I mean, the things might go straight through him if he lets go. They're not already. Well, I think they're just like halfway in there. Ew. Are you guys having a killer time? Now they're showing that and then wheeling him out on the gurney. Now, it must be strange for the cops because it goes from being like, we're going to get you, sucka. Yes. To just be calm. It's all right. I'm not fighting you. Then you're comforting somebody. Yeah. You went from trying to like catch them and kill them for 10. Oh, please. You went from trying to catch them to comforting them that you're going to be okay. Yeah. Even though you're impaled right now. Now, do you think he slipped when he was trying to hop over? I don't think he had enough strength to get over. That's terrible. Like, I mean, come on, dude. Oh, what a terrible idea. What did we learn? Right? Everybody, what's the lesson? Brought iron fence, I'm going to jail. Don't run in the first place. Or maybe just try and open it. From the po-po. What's the lesson with this?
Sky says that Matthew McConaughey, who just had a child, he says they buried the child's placenta in his yard. Okay, come on. Yeah, he kept the placenta. He should go to jail. I don't know if they've actually buried it yet. They better have. What do they do? Oh, stop it. I don't want to discuss that. You just put it in the fridge. No. Listen to this. Text message. Does the Mikey Show think burying the placenta is weird because my parents buried mine? Now we have a tangerine tree that's a few days younger than me. Oh, that is disgusting. That's a placenta tree, really? That's disgusting. Actually, McConaway says he got the idea when he was in Australia and they had a placenta tree and basically... Stop saying that. Don't say placenta tree. He said it grew taller and stronger than all the other trees. Great. Big whoop. So he's going to take their baby's placenta. I'll take a smaller, weaker tree. Thank you. And plant it in the orchard. But that fruit tastes extra good. Oh, stop it.
Dude, I bet it's great fertilizer. I could never, ever, ever. Skye, stop it. These are facts. It is a fact. I did not know that. Skye, would you eat a placenta tangerine? Yes, I would. You would not eat a placenta tangerine. No, I do like tangerines. You would not eat a placenta tangerine. I would not eat a placenta tomato. You would not eat a Tandracenta. Come on. Let's all just grow up a little bit. P1 Real. Hey, bro. I cooked it up and ate it. You did? Yeah. Why? Why did you? My son. Why? My son. When my son was born, I wept like a baby. I took the thing home and a little bit of oil and salt. Why did you do that? Why is this happening? Why did you do that? I heard it's not bad. I heard it's actually very nutritious. Why did you? Yeah. Well, there you go. That is our first lie of the day. It can't be true. How did they give it to you to take it home? They didn't. It's a doggy pet. Why do you lie, liar? But yeah, wait, how did they give it to you? Styrofoam container. They put it in a biosensitive bag in a container. You can take it in a styrofoam little cooler. Did you fly home in Wonder Woman's invisible jet? I swear, bro.
That's not true. Will you come in and take a lie detector test? Sure, absolutely. You will? You can look it up on the Internet. I believe you can look anything up on the Internet, sir. Oh, that's true. That is true. That is true. Very true. But he's saying he did it. Yeah, by the way. In some cultures. Wait, what? By the way, I'm a P1. Thank you very much. Appreciate it. What did it taste like? My son was born at Children's and I got to take it home. What did it taste like? It tastes like liver. Why would you do that? Why would you want to eat that? I wanted to be one with my son. He wanted to be one with his son. He created him. But isn't it kind of like you're eating your son? Of course it isn't. Seems a little inappropriate to me. Yeah, I ate it. Okay, I'm going to switch paradigms. I believe you now. Let's say I believe you. I didn't eat the whole thing, man. I don't believe that you would. Well, that'd be crazy if you did that. That would be crazy if you did that. Oh, but a couple bites is okay? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I heard that people, you know, it was a rumor. I heard that people did it. And then when my son was born, I said, all right, I'm going to do it. Questions. I now have questions. Yeah. How old are you? 35. And how long ago did you do this? Seven years ago. Was your wife aware that you were going to do it? Yeah.
How did she feel about that? She thought I was deranged, but I'm born on Halloween. I listen to heavy metal, and I'm dark. Gotcha. What did your friends say about this? My friends rooted me on. They're like, go, bro, go. Of course they did. I didn't do it in front of anybody. Of course not. That would be weird. I told people later. It wasn't like a contest. Yeah, yeah. Dude, if Rob said he's going to eat placenta, I'm going to cheer him on, too. I want to see that. It's so freaky. No, there's nothing wrong with it. I think there's a variety of things wrong with it, but to each their own, to each their own, to each their own. Are you real close with your son now? He's my whole reason for breathing. Right on. I say right on to that. Yeah. I'll give you a high five on that one. This is interesting. I'm a single father because, you know, the mother and I are separated, but we're real good friends. We live in the same school district, and we share... My boys evenly. It's great. It's awesome. Hey, listen, dude. I think it's awesome. Although, this guy did a little research. Oh, no. Oh, okay. Yeah, I did a little Googling. Just a quick little Google Manoogle. Yeah. And they say that, yeah, you know, this is done in other cultures and Western cultures kind of frown on it. But really, it's only a benefit to the mother.
Yeah, because of the nutrients. There's really no... Yeah, it can maybe help with postpartum, increase milk production, help with the hormones. But again, as a dude eating the placenta, there is no benefit whatsoever to you. I was going to do it anyway. Even if it was harmful, I would have done it. Okay, that's weird. Why are you like this? Well, listen. Every metal died. In the name of my father, it was like, it was an out-of-body experience. It was very spiritual. I'm not a religious person anymore, but it was something that... You're not a religious person anymore? Yeah. You lost your faith? No, I didn't lose my faith, but I went to private schools my whole life, and, you know, I got out of it and, you know, decided... People. People messed it up for you, right? The school system kind of screwed it up. My mom, you know, my mom's real strict Catholic, and, you know, and I appreciate it. I love it all. It's really, it's just not... Turned you off, though, right? Yeah, I got kind of turned off because I was raised Catholic and I went to Christian school, so it was... Zeth's kind of the same way. Same thing happened. Zeth turned him off. Little desensitized and oversaturated. Yep. Too bad. Well, you know, I believe in God. I'm not, you know, I'm not... Yeah, I know, but you grew up to be a placenta eater. For goodness sake. For goodness sake. Wow. Who knew? I believe him. I didn't believe him at first. I believe him now. Yeah.
Some things you just can't make up. They're too outlandish. Yeah. Hope everybody's enjoying their oatmeal this morning. Yeah, that's right. I'll take a number two, please. Can I have an orange juice, decaf, and a biscuit on the side? Guess what, you guys? Guess what? Can I win a prize or something? Because I did make it up, and I got you guys. Oh, man. Dang it. I was telling you. That's weak, dude. He had me at hello. He had me at hello. He did a good job. I think he did a great job. I think he deserves a prize. I think he's a jerk. No, come on. I don't think we should encourage people to call in and lie, Mike. I don't think we should reward for that. But it took a while, and he did an effective job. It was very effective. You are the worst. No, come on. We don't reward liars here. Oh, please. It was so well done. It was so well done. It was well produced, well directed, and I thought it had a great storyline. Great storyline. The ending sucked. P1 who? P1 Renegade. Oh, that's the show that Eddie starred in. Oh. All of a sudden things are changing. Yeah. More lies. Yeah, hang on the line. I'll give you something. Hang on. I ate Lorenzo Lamas' placenta. You did? How was it? Eddie, you did not. Salty. Oh, man. That's cool. This text message says, hey, Mikey, I want to ask Eddie for some information about what happened to Lorenzo Neal.
P1 monster truck. How are we even going to talk about normal stuff after that? I'm trying to move on. That was garbage. I can't believe that. He got us good, though. That's not cool. I'm always good for a good Zappo. I like a good Zappo. What the heck's a Zappo? A Zappo is when somebody says to you, I landed on the moon. You're just making stuff. And you go, no, you didn't. And they go, no, check it out. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And they give you all this NASA stuff and they tell you the flight director's name. Holy Toledo, you were on the moon. No, I got you. Zappo. That's not cool. The only time I appreciate a Zappo is when there's like a punchline at the end. Like if he would have said, at the end of his Zappo, if he would have been like, oh, and then after I ate the placenta, I turned into a turtle. And ham. He just like screamed out something that had to do with the show. That had to do with the show. You know what I mean? Like if it had a punchline. Oh, I ate the placenta and then I kissed my dog. Zappo. Dude, a double shot. Holy Toledo.
I see where you're going with that. See, I appreciate those, but just the, oh, I lied. No, I don't remember that. Fine. Zappo. Come on. Man, you guys are a rough crowd. Well. Mikey, did you guys see, well, before I say this, I was watching women's fencing because it was the only thing on the Olympics. I wanted to watch the Olympics. Very cute. And when they, like, I don't know if it was. And you know there's like 80 channels of Olympics, by the way. What are they? All the NBC. USA, MSNBC. Well, it was on the main one. So, yeah, so there'll be different sports. Why would they have fencing on the main one and, like, better sports on the other ones? Yeah, I don't know. I saw that before, too. It was women's fencing. Yeah. And I don't know if it happens when one of the women gets over on the other or if it happens when somebody gets, like, scored a pawn. But they go... What? It's... the funniest, weirdest, creepiest, stupidest thing ever. And I don't know if it's like, I don't know if it's specific to women's fencing or if it was that particular woman that we were watching, but I hit pause on the TiVo and went, babe! I hit her watch this woman. Like they make this weird yell sound.
When something, like, as soon as, like, they'll go, go. And with their swords and their beekeeper outfits. Yeah. They got their beekeeper outfits on and the sword. And for, like, two seconds, they go, whack, whack, whack. And then something happens. You don't know what. Right. But one of them goes. And you're like, wow. Are you sure? Oh, dear. Is that a mandatory thing? No, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know any of this. Yeah, because I was watching women's weightlifting over the weekend. And I noticed that when certain women from certain countries, especially the Chinese, before they would lift, they would do something. No, they wouldn't pass gas. They would do something similar where they would like shout out something. But then women from other countries didn't do that. Dude, the Olympics are hysterical sometimes. Yeah, they're awesome. Because people are so magical. They're so weird. Those fencing chicks, their hands were bloodied. Really? Yeah. Dude, it was crazy. And then that was crazy about this. This text message. I was leading into this. Mikey, did you guys see these Chinese women gymnasts? Oh, dude. Oh, yeah. Talk about it, Mike. Conspiracy. Conspiracy. Well, it says they seriously look 12, not 16. They look like eight.
especially compared to Americans. Are the Chinese blatantly cheating or what? Eddie is shaking his head. Yes, they are. We checked their passports and they're legit. I have eyes. Do they have birth certificates that you can double check all this? You know what I mean? 5701053, our text number 35253. I want to talk about that. The placenta topic is closed. The closed sign on the window. It was open for like two minutes and we turned it to close. Highest domestic violence incidents in the county. Where do you think they happened? The United States leads the medal count at the Olympics with 11 so far, although the U.S. women's gymnastic team stumbled a little bit and are second heading into the finals. Well, of course, because they're having to compete against, like, you know, girls that are 9, 10 years old and completely... Well, they say that you've got to be 16 years old to do that. And Sky was talking about it.
Off the air, we were saying how, you know, the Chinese girls, I don't know, that they look like they're 16. Yeah, there's one in particular that's like, give me a break. She looks eight. Yes, she does. You guys talking about Sona Sean Tuichu? What? I just made that up. Really? I just made that up. That was good. I did. I just zappoed you guys. Oh. No way, Jose. I feel so zappoed. Zappoed. So. Well, there's no way for us to know. I mean, I guess they just are able to pull the wool over our eyes and there's no way that we can know. Except for looking at her. I mean, besides our eyes. I don't really know if there's any proof. I mean, our eyes. And sure, that is all the proof we need. But other than that. I think it psyched out the women's team, the U.S. women's team. Really? Because they were terrible last night. Oh, that blows, man. You were brutal. Hey, is their coach still that dude that's been doing it for like 100 years? His wife is like the head coach now. Really? Yeah, I don't know where old Bella is. Yeah, Bella Lugosi, I believe, was his name. And he was really good.
I want to have a gold medal women's gymnastics again. That always fires up the country. And if they stink, you just feel like a bunch of losers. You know, we feel like losers. They got to be able to do. We want to win the team competition more or the women's all around, which is that's the one that Mary Lou one. You know, that's the individual girl that's like, oh, she's the best. That's like the Mary Lou's the, you know. Carrie Struggs. I want to win both, but if you have to pick one, then the six are half a dozen. Well, you know, the U.S. team one is more of like a country one, but the individual is more prestigious. Yeah, if you're saying that we remember the individual, because I do remember that 10. Oh, yeah. Gimpy leg and everything. Oh, perfect. You know what I'm saying? I like it. They're showing the fencing. They're showing the fencing. The team, because we work together instead of getting each other this time. So, rewind. I want more. Gotta see if they show that. Like, that we're probably gonna do really well on the team, so. The look on your face when you knew you had won is just a great moment. I can't rewind anymore. What's with, like, the Zylon thing they have on their, like, helmets? Like, turns red when they get hit or something. Yeah. Yeah, it goes red and green. There's a red and a green. It's the weirdest thing in the world. But...
Hopefully they'll show it again. Because I got to play this sound for you when the women's fencing, when they're, you know, sword fighting each other. My God. You know, one of them scores a point. You hear this shriek that's hysterical. It's weird. What is the deal with this guy? What? Tom Brady talks about being uncomfortable in public and how God doesn't care that he plays football. Yeah, he did this interview with Esquire magazine where he just kind of starts saying some weird stuff. First, on going out in public, he says, quote, If I feel anxious every time someone is staring at me, I can't control what they stare at, but my reaction is I'm just not going to go outside the house. I'm going to stay in and chill. So he doesn't like to go out, and he just wants to stay in because it creeps him out when people stare at him. He can fix that.
Yeah, take off the Yankees head. You're in Boston. That is true. That's the first step. Problem solved. They're not staring at you in a good way. That's one reason people stare. But he can fix it. If he goes out, like, okay, let's say he goes to a restaurant and he doesn't like that people stare at him. First of all, don't sit in a chair where you're looking at everybody staring at you. That's one way to fix it. Second of all... wear the mask of an elderly person. Oh, I like that. Have a makeup artist make you into an elderly person like Mrs. Doubtfire and go out as an old elderly person when you go get ribs or whatever for dinner. But Mrs. Doubtfire is dining with Giselle? Yeah, Mrs. Doubtfire would be Giselle's mom. She'll be like, oh! Right? Like Buffalo Bill, cut yourself a new suit. Exactly. I don't know about that. I think that's the thing. Try it. That's weird. And then talking about football and God, he says, quote, look at the attention I get. It's because I throw a football, but that's what society values. That's not what God values. God couldn't give an S as far as I'm concerned. Those are two words that you might not want to use in the same sentence. He didn't invent the game. We did. See, I think God cares that he plays football.
But Tom Brady says that he didn't invent the game, so he doesn't care. He didn't. So he doesn't care. I didn't. He didn't. He didn't. He probably cares what you do with your fame. Sure. There, Tommy boy. Yeah, Tommy boy. Your talent. I want him to upset God. We need a Super Bowl again, Tom. Stop. Right? What do you need another one for, you greedy bunch of... We need another one. After last year, we need the taste out of our mouth. Come on. To greedy people from New England with their sports. Yeah. She let us win something every once in a while. This is pathetic. Lindsay Lohans weren't an engagement ring. Stop it. Come on, Mike. What for? Well, there have been rumors for the past couple weeks that she's getting married to her girlfriend, Samantha. Samantha Ronson, the... DJ. Club DJ. The Hollywood club DJ. Not a radio DJ. Club DJ. Yeah. Spins the ones and twos. Even though they're always walking around holding hands, they live together. They occasionally kiss in public. They still have not publicly commented on their relationship and still refer to it as a friendship. But there were all these wedding rumors going on and then just over the weekend showed up wearing a diamond ring on her left finger. No way. So who knows?
Richard Dreyfuss, who used to live around the corner from us. Former neighbor of yours? Yes. He was slumming it, you know, for him. Because we don't live in no Hollywood place. But he wanted to get a very modest home to go watch the races. That's what the rumor was that he liked the races. You know, he liked to go to Del Mar and watch the ponies. But I don't know. That was just the rumor. I don't know if it... That was why, but he used to live around the corner. He moved now. But apparently he's suing his father and his uncle for unpaid loans from 1984. Maybe he lost his wallet again. It could be. That was his wife's wallet. Yeah, so Dreyfus is suing both his dad and his uncle for $870,000. That's a lot. That's a lot. And the interest has been accruing since 1984, so who knows what that... Skrill. Yeah, total skrill. So anyways, I guess he made the loan in good faith to his dad and his uncle back in the 80s. They were having some sort of trouble with a downtown office building they owned in L.A. I don't want to be sued, so I don't know that he wanted to watch the races. Oh, uh-oh. Allegedly. Allegedly wanted to watch the races. I don't know what if he wanted to watch races.
As far as I know, hates racists. So he has not received any money from his dad or his uncle, has been trying to get the money back for years, and finally has filed a lawsuit over it. Rob, your tab's up to $972. That's right. With interest. I don't care, though. They'll never get money out of me. Same for me. That's right. They'll never get it either. Hey, the Jets say that Brett Favre... Who's that guy? is going to start the second preseason game. Well, he's their quarterback. Of course he's going to start. But does he know the playbook and all that? He doesn't need to. He's quite far, baby. I wonder if it works like Madden and they just call it Hijink 64 or something like that. Run a Hijink 64 here and break off the lift. I would like to see that. Eddie, wouldn't you? See him play? Yeah, in the preseason. I'm ready, man. I want to see that Jet uniform.

Better mileage tips presented by Chevron. How fast are you going right now? Really? That fast? So what's your hurry? Did you know that if you slowed down just a little, you'd get better mileage? It's true. If you drove 55 miles per hour on the highway instead of 65 miles per hour, you could go about 30 to 60 more miles on a tank of gas. It's like the story of the tortoise and the hare. You know, slow and steady wins the race. And that also applies to city driving. When you're stopped at a traffic light and it turns green, avoid the jackrabbit start. Don't punch the gas. It's not a race. Just accelerate smoothly and gradually. And let's face it, you'll catch up to those other cars at the next light anyway. So remember, a heavy foot equals a light gas tank. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron.

We do have a couple of things to be aware of, though. There's an earlier accident where a car went off the side of the freeway here, rolled over westbound 52 before Santo Road. Emergency crews are on the scene. And they're pulling this car back up, so watch for a possible delay there as you come into the top of the summit at Asante. We've also got eastbound Friars Road, two right lanes blocked at Riverdale as you head into the Grandville area just before Mission Gorge. This all started with the police pursuit that ended in an accident here, so you'll find some delays there as well. And also in the Castle Creek area, an unfortunate head-on collision has Old Castle Road completely shut down on Air Flight Drive. You'll find traffic control there as well. Those are freeways around the county are pretty much up to speed, looking pretty good.

Mikey, my boyfriend decided that we want to get married. That's already starting off a little strange, right? My boyfriend decided that we want to get married. He asked me if I would be mad if he used pieces from his ex-fiance's ring.
Are you kidding? For mine, some of my friends say it's okay because it'll be a new ring, but I don't know. Mike. Am I allowed to say no? Mike. Oh, boy. Sky was bothered by the word allowed. I'm bothered by that whole text message. That's right. Oh. This is what you got to understand, lady. I'm assuming this is a lady that's writing this question. Yeah. Of course you're allowed to say no. You just tell them how you feel. If it doesn't bother you, then it doesn't bother you. That's totally, totally your call. But if it bothers you, then you say, no, that would hurt my feelings. But of course you're allowed to say that. Sky would... I'd leave you for just thinking about it. That's right. Sky would be a little upset with that idea. Yeah.
Hey, Mikey, I just moved in with my girlfriend of 17 months, but she wants to get rid of all my porno videos and magazines. Wow. That's a toughie. And I have a lot of them. What should I do? I don't think you should move in with your girlfriend. I think moving in with your girlfriend's a bad idea. I think that God has rules, and when we break them, we're on our own. When we don't break them, he blesses us. That's what I think. Now, everybody on the show, trust me, we all are different on this one. Oh, yeah. And I did it, by the way. I always point that out. I did it. I lived with Rebecca beforehand. And I think that we paid the price for it. But let's take that part out. So, okay, so there's that part of the advice. Okay. Now, let's say that he says, okay, well, you know, I got it. I had no better than God. And so I'm going to do it. And I'm going to do my own way.
He says he's been dating her for 17 months, he says. That's a long time out. It's a year and a half? Okay. And she wants him to get rid of all his porno videos and magazines. Well, if you have the porno videos and magazines, my belief is that the porno stuff is going to distort your image of women. And that it's a lie about women designed to make you think differently about women. And that you then have an expectation of women. And women are supposed to do all the crazy, dirty monkey stuff that they do in the videos. Now, that may be the case. But it also, I also believe that the porno is. is very similar. I don't know that I've ever said this one. This one I don't think I've said. Oh, I'm excited. The porno is similar to cheating. And I've had an issue with it. I've had an issue with porno. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So why do you say that? Because God says it. He says that it's... In the Bible? Yeah, yeah. What does he say? Really? He says that if you look at another woman...
lustfully you're committing adultery now he knows he knows that you can't handle that he knows when he says it like i know you ain't gonna be able to pull that off all right like you can't because you're a human being and so he says and because you can't pull it off here's your escape route because you can't pull it off uh so interesting but here's the deal for me And we're going to go around and talk to everybody because I'm not the only opinion. I mean, segment's called Ask Mikey, but hello, there's seven people on the show. So, yeah, when I'm looking at dirty stuff, it affects my relationship with my wife because my wife is supposed to be the only one that I put that in, that I have that, that I have those thoughts. No, wow, that didn't sound right. No, no, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't even catch it. Rewind. Start again. Start again. Okay, let me say that again. I mean, your first point was correct, but not appropriate for the show. So she appreciates that. What I meant to say... What I meant to say was... Is that if I'm looking at other chicks, then...
I'm basically keeping something away from my wife that I would be giving to her, which is all of me. That's what I'm supposed to be doing is giving her all of me. She's supposed to be giving me all of her. Very, very crazy opinion in 2008. I love it. It's a gnarly thought in 2008. In fact, our culture has taught us, and I know that sounds cliche to say that. Even those words, as they came out of my mouth, they're like, you know what? Well, I know. I know how nutty that sounds. And I know you've heard that before. But the truth is, is that... We do live in a day and age where when you watch TV, you got to think about the commercials and you got to think about all the stuff that we watch and consume every day. And when you watch and consume stuff every day, first of all, it wasn't the same stuff that was on TV 20 years ago. So the fact that it is on TV now, we become desensitized to it. If watching people's arms be blown off freaks you out, watch it for 30 days straight. And I bet you by the end of the 30 days, it doesn't freak you out so much anymore.
You become used to it. You're desensitized to it. In fact, it becomes normal. And so, so much of our culture, in my opinion, so much of our culture, we just accept as like, oh, dude, what's the big deal? And the reason we do that is because that's what's become the norm. But that's just one dude's opinion. So if I were to give you advice on it, I would say don't live with your girlfriend. Wait until you get married and throw out the porn in the magazines. And if you have trouble doing that and you're like struggling with it, I went to this website, xxxchurch.com, and I downloaded this free thing. And if I look at something pornographic on the computer, it sends an email to this dude that I know. And I'm really embarrassed because he writes me. He's like, why were you looking at boobs.com? You get busted. But Eddie, what do you think of this? If it said, hey, Eddie. Eddie, just moved in with my girlfriend at 17 months. She wants me to get rid of all my porn videos and magazines. And I have a lot. What should I do? Eddie's a guy's guy. Yeah, but I mean, if you decide you're going to play growing up and live together, that's fine. But you're not, you don't have a roommate anymore. It's not a roommate. You know, this is a girl that you're living with. And so you got to respect what she wants too.
And if she's uncomfortable with porn, then what are you going to do? You've got to choose one or the other. And if she's that important to you, I would hope more important than pornography, then you've got to get rid of them. I mean, it's your choice. Everything's about choices. You've got to make your choices. And that one is a battle that I don't know that I'd be willing to fight. Sky, what do you think? Yeah, you know, first of all, you know, in my opinion, I think living together before marriage is good. But that's just my opinion on that. So congrats on that. And the other thing is the porn. Okay. So if it was me and if I was a dude and if I was in your shoes, I would try and go in with a compromise. Because for some reason from your email or your text, I get the impression that you have a lot of porn. Maybe I'm wrong. I wonder how much it is because he says, she wants me to get rid of all my porno videos and magazines and I have a lot. What should I do? I wonder what a lot is. He's got one of those pods.
You know, those rental pods that sits out in the garage and says pods. Okay, that's creepy. Yeah. So I would try and first, if, you know, if it's something that, you know, you're really into, but hopefully you're not like creepy weird into it. You know, you go in. That would be weird. Yeah. Well, yeah. Like, where do you cross the line to creepy weird? Japanese import. Oh, wow. Well, yeah, if you'd rather be spending time with your pornography than with your lady, then to me, that's creepy weird, you know? So I would suggest a compromise, like maybe saying, hey, you know, is it cool if I keep just like two videos? My favorites? Yeah, just for like emergencies, you know, whatever. And see if that works. But if that doesn't work and if she really is set against it and you really love her, then yeah, dude, just throw all that junk away. This is an interesting question. Line one is P1 Lawstroke. Are you there? I'm here. Hey, dude, go ahead. All right, man. I just got a general consensus question. I'm going to be a survey. See, my husband usually got divorced, and I'm going to admit a reason, but the worst reason was because I recently found a text message on my wife's phone from another guy saying, boy, I'm going to sleep. I love you, baby. Good night. Shut up. Now, she has this big deal where she just doesn't see anything wrong with that, but she calls me baby. Her, well, now ex-husband, she calls me baby.
So I'm just trying to figure out, everybody I asked is on my side with, you know, we should have dropped her. But I'm just trying to make sure I wasn't wrong about my decision because it's not the first time I found crap like that in the phone. You said that she doesn't see anything wrong with that. No, not at all. Okay, like we're from the South. And honestly, I'm from the South. We're naturally flirtatious people. So honey, sweetie, you know, things like that, I'm cool with. But that baby thing, that did it to me. That's indicative of her. So if this text message from another man had said, hey, sweetie, good night, that would have been fine. But baby crossed the line? Baby crossed the line because she called me that. That was her name for me. Okay, I just got to make sure I'm getting this right. I'm getting this right, right, Sky? He'd have been okay with it if it had been, hey, sweetie, good night, from another guy. Am I tripping out? Didn't you say there was like an I love you in there? Yeah, I did say I love you too. But your problem is with the word baby. Yeah, baby. I love you part of the problem too. Oh, right, right, right. Lesser extent. Yes. Obviously. And then the fact that it was a guy that she works with and that I've seen, like I've talked to, he was like in my face, hey, we should go riding on bikes sometimes together. And then this thing I was around is like, hey, talking to my wife, like they've just been dating so long. You know, and that's just ridiculous. Man, the heart.
The heart is a crazy addictive thing. Yeah. The heart is a really addictive thing. And it's no different, by the way, than any other drug that you can get addicted to. You can get addicted to your wife and addicted to, and you're hearing it. You're hearing a guy who saw a text message on his wife's cell phone from another dude that said, hey, baby, I love you. Good night. And he is still wondering. And it wasn't the first time. It wasn't the first time. And he's still kind of like, I don't know. Was that the right thing to not be with him? I don't know. Do you think something was going on? And that's because the heart is gnarly. It'll make you want to believe nothing is going on. But yeah, bro, something was going on. You got to take your phone out of your pocket. This is really hard to hear you.
Hello? There we go. That's great. There we go. That's better. Yeah, I mean, I just gave it aside. I, like, stared at her for, like, 15 minutes wondering, like, are you, like, mentally retarded to, like, not believe that there's something seriously wrong with that kind of talk to another. It's supposed to be a friend. Like, I'm not, I'm, like, the least. Hey, listen. I say it's an interesting tactic she took. Yeah, right? It's an interesting tactic she took. She was like, what's the big deal? I'm from the South. Yeah, I'm from the South. Hello, I'm from Atlanta. Yeah, duh. We say, I love you, baby. Good night in Atlanta. To everyone. To everybody. Yeah. She's actually something to cater, which is funny. But, like, I did the same thing in return. But please, with the phone. Your phone is making awful, awful, awful noises. Is that better? That's much better. And the funny thing is, I ran the same kind of experiment on her. Like, again, like, I had a homegirl of mine do the same thing just to see how it would work to her. Yeah, good idea. Healthy. Healthy. Yeah, this is not a good relationship. Yeah, that's where I'm out of it now. Yeah, and you got, hey, listen, I will say this too. I would, if I were you, I would see a therapist who can figure out what it was that made you attracted to her. And I mean that. You know why?
Tell me your name. Okay. Let's say this. If you don't figure out why you were attracted to her, you'll end up with her again. She'll just have a different name. Have you ever dated a girl that's done anything like this before? No. This is the first time, huh? Yeah, I mean, this was my first, like, real big serious relationship and I got married to her because I love her. Okay. I loved her. Well, I would like to suggest to you that you get it figured out what it was that was attractive about her to you so you don't do that again. Well, she has this big attention thing. Like, if she gets attention from, like, from one person... I will say this to you again. Please, I hope you're hearing this. It's kind of a charm. Please, I hope you're hearing this. I'm hearing you, yeah. I suggest that you go to a therapist, even though I'm sensing that you think that that's weak or something to go to a therapist. I've been before. Are you okay with going to a therapist? I've been before, yeah. Okay, I would go again and I would figure out what it is about you that was making you attracted to that woman. If you don't do that and figure out what it was and resolve it.
You will end up with her again. She'll just have a different name. Yeah, that's true. I hope you were getting it. All right, brother. Thank you very much. Bye. We'll see you. 35253 is our text number. 5701053 is our phone number. And why don't you give us a call or text us? And we still have P1 trivia to go. And it says, actually, Mikey, if you fart when you're lifting, you lose power because the muscles relax when you fart. So that's cool. He just wanted to make sure that he was, you know, right now. He used to eat a lot of natural food until he natural causes. Mikey.

Clearly, the fight against global warming has just begun. Visit FlexYourPower.org for tips. Right now we've got a major backup on Friars Road eastbound coming over the 15. This is all due to a collision that started off as a police pursuit that ended up as an accident here on the eastbound side of Friars Road at Riverdale. We've got the STPD on the scene here investigating this and the traffic's all backed up on that eastbound Friars Road. Now it's affecting the off-ramps from the 15 trying to get onto the eastbound Friars Road. You're going to find heavy backups on both sides there as well.
Be advised to avoid that whole stretch if you possibly can. Other than that, we're pretty quiet here. We've got good-looking rides on the rest of our freeways. We've got College Grove off-ramp from westbound, 94, an earlier accident wrapping up there, so just watch for that as well. What's waiting for our instant traffic? I'm Rick Lawrence, AM 600, COGO. Here's your question. Nicole Scherzinger. What? Nicole, New Jersey? Nicole. Yes. Nicole Scherzinger is the lead singer for what girl group? I only know of one girl group. Whoa, wait a minute. No, no. To the Mikey Show. It's the Mikey Show at 944. We lost two good ones this weekend. Both comedian Bernie Mac and singer-actor Isaac Hayes died over the weekend. Michael Phelps almost lost his quest for eight gold medals, but the U.S. men freestyle team came back to win the gold. Yeah.
Oh, that's good. Chargers beat the Cowboys in a preseason game. That's cool. 31-17. It started a little slow, but they came around and played really well. Who's next? You got next week, St. Louis. Sweet. In St. Louis. That's cool. A lot of people getting ready for their fantasy football to start. A couple weeks, man. I know. We're doing ours at the end of the month. Let's see. Joe Lieberman is reportedly on McCain's shortlist for VP? Isn't this crazy? Joe Lieberman? Yeah, an advisor to the McCain campaign, you know, did an interview, you know, obviously wouldn't give their specific name, but said that Joe Lieberman is on McCain's shortlist. But then McCain is currently doing, was doing an event today. Is Joe Lieberman a liberal?
Yeah, well, he is now an independent. Independent, yeah. That's weird. Can you smell what the Mac is cooking? But McCain is campaigning today with Tom Ridge in Pennsylvania, who is also rumored to be on the short list. But yeah, Lieberman, pretty, that would upset a lot of conservatives if he went that way. So I never gave you the answer. What city in San Diego County has the highest? domestic violence incidents than any other part of the county? Eddie, take a guess. I'm going to say so many good choices. Just say it. You're thinking it, so just say it. There could be several. You know what you're thinking. I'm thinking East. I'm thinking East. You are not thinking out. You don't know what I was thinking. I could have thought that. Fine. Santee. Santee is number six on the list. Are you serious? Let's see. 18 domestic incidents. Imperial Beach. Chula Vista.
Chula Vista is number two with 24 incidents last year. Lakeside. That's crazy. Hustle up, guys. Lakeside. Lemon Grove. Hustle up. Lemon Grove is number five with 19 incidents. San Ysidro. Clamont. Otay Mesa. Oceanside. Sounds like we're doing traffic. Yes, Ashley. Oceanside was the number one area with the most reports of domestic. violence. Now, the people of Oceanside do want to say... Sorry, then we didn't mean it. You know, I want everybody, especially if you're new listening to the show, if you're new listening to the show, The Mikey Show doesn't think that domestic violence is a okay, funny, or cool deal. No, we don't. The only reason that you have to say that is because there are people that are new listening to the show. If you've been listening to the show forever, You know that, and there's no issues. But if you're not new listening to the show... That came through both earphones and it really freaked me out. If you're not new listening to the show, you may not know and get upset that there's even laughter happening while we're talking about it. And we're not laughing at the issue of domestic violence. And I'm saying that to try to avoid and cut off any... Thank you.
But Oceanside had 40 documented cases per every 1,000 households. That's what all the numbers were based on per 1,000 households in the city. But they do say in Oceanside, when police get a domestic disturbance call, they also log the ones that are just verbal. Whereas in other towns, it actually has to get physical to make it on the record. Like they don't count it in other places. Like Chula Vista doesn't count it unless it's physical. But in Oceanside, they count both the verbal and the physical. So Oceanside had 40 per every thousand households. Chula Vista, 24 per every thousand households. Now, this is what I want to know. It's interesting. Now, instantly we thought, I did, Santee El Cajon. I thought El Cajon was my first guess. Be my first guess. Now, why do we think that? Why did I think El Cajon? The reason I thought alcohol was because there's like crazy low income stuff going on out there. That's what my mind thought. Now, why associate low income with domestic violence? Why does our mind do that? Now, I only ask the question because I'm so fascinated and interested in what are these sounds that are coming from everywhere? Where does that come from? Who was that? I don't know. But I'm interested in how we think.
And why we think. Well, honestly, for me, I was thinking of where the high crime rates are. And the high crime rates are definitely El Cajon and a couple other places that we named. And they are lower income areas. Why does it happen? I said one time that I thought that the way that you cut down on crime is to teach kids stuff. Teach them. Teach them what? Teach them how to be smarter. Do you disagree, Rob? Well, I don't know. Rob kind of grew up in areas where there was a lot of stuff going on in Boston. I just think you can teach a kid as much as you want, but some kids are just going to go down a certain route. I know wicked smart guys that are doing a lot of criminal activity and they use their smarts to...
I'll do stuff, you know. So it's pointless to teach kids? No, no, no. I'm not saying it's pointless. I'm just saying there are some people that are just going to go. What is it then? Rob says rip books out of the hands of children. That's right. Rob advocates stealing books from kids. Well, what can you do? What do you think? Oh, dude, I don't know. Because the way me and my buddies grew up, like. You were just going to do it no matter what. Yeah, kind of, you know. Like, I couldn't think of anything that I would have been taught. What about, like, a scared straight? What if you would have gone through, like, a scared straight type of program where you're young, where you actually went in the jails and talked to the people? See, that's what I'm trying to think of because I remember the first time that, you know, I got brought home by the cops and all that. I think I was, like, 11 or 12. And it scared me, but it almost made me want to, like, just not get caught. Did you get in trouble from your mom? Yeah.
Like real bad trouble or little trouble? Oh, no, no. It was bad. My mom laid down the law. I forget. I know I didn't leave the house for that for like a month after because I was so young. My dad would have beat me with a belt. My dad did beat me with a belt a couple of times. I didn't do it again. I'm just saying. I'm just telling you the truth. My dad beat me with a belt a few times about a couple of things, and I didn't do it anymore. Oh, my mom would hit me when I was little, little. But, I mean, when I'm 11 or 12, you know, what's she going to do? Raise a fist to me? I'm going to walk outside and be like, get out of here. Right. Get out of here. It's true. It's true. You going to smack me? Uh-uh. Now, was your dad around when you were that age? Well, that's where it was kind of 50-50. You know, my dad wasn't really there that much. When he did come home and, you know. Finally, all the months of whatever was going on built up. My mom was like, bring him in the kitchen and let him know his role. That's when, for a month straight, best behavior of my life. It's just a trip, man. Listen, it's very effective. It's very effective. As weird as this might sound, but if the father's... I'm thinking about it when I was younger. My dad was more explaining stuff as I got older.
Like, into my teens, me and my dad had a better relationship. He was there more. But when I was younger, I didn't really see him that much, and I didn't learn that much from him. So it was kind of like I was fending for myself the whole time. We got a guy named P1 Spoot on the line, wants to defend Santee. His name's P1 Spoot. Okay. All right. Hi. Hi, Spoot. I am from Santee, and I just think it's crazy that Eddie, you just pick us out every single time. I do, too. It's not just Eddie. Hold on a second. Oh, no. That is not true, first of all. Second of all, I live in East County, my friend. That's right. I lived in San T my entire life. I go to UCSD. I work 50 hours a week. And you guys make it seem like it's so bad. You act like you don't know. San T is a go-to joke. It's San Diego. We don't know this. You're acting like you're just hearing this for the first time. You're from San T. You know they call it Clan T out there. Hello. Hello. I'm glad you said that. You know who else does this? Clint. Clint is a big supporter of Santee. He lives out there. Well, it's a beautiful area. As soon as you go, all these surveys, what city is the worst in San Diego? Up here comes Santee. Now, do you think that that started because of Santee's low crime rate?
It may be. Yeah, it started because Santee was such a sweet, lovable community. I'm Googling it, and the first thing that came up were crime statistics. Now, granted, these are from the late 90s. But what I'm finding is Santee is tied for second place as one of the safest places. Oh, no, Skye. That's late 90s. Since the new millennium, they've really cleaned it up. No, it was safe back then. It was number two safest. But let me see if I can find something. But maybe just because it's, you know, the East County. Please. We just get the same rap every time. Yeah, you do. Clint defends it. It's a joke. Clint defends it to the end. You know the Santee jokes. Oh, I know them all. It's beautiful there. Now, why do you think that they start? Why do you think that there is Santee jokes? It used to be that way, but if, you know, you come over and visit and you see that it's cleaned up, you want to make your jokes all the time. I do. I know all about, you know, the sweet Kohl's that's out there and the Lowe's and all that stuff. They have a Kohl's? They built everything out there. It's great. And they built the, you know, you got the, whatchamacallit. Yeah. What's the place called? Greenerschnitzel. Yeah. Best Buy out there.
Best Buy. They don't say. Come on. You know. You got the Mission Gorge. You got the... What else you got out there? The trailer. They do. Is Santee... Excuse me. I'm naming the new things. Excuse me. When was the last time you checked the air pressure in your tires? Can't remember?
Then it's definitely been too long. Did you know even tires in good shape can lose about one pound of pressure a month? And underinflated tires make your engine work harder, lowering your mileage. But don't overinflate them. You can usually find the recommended tire pressure on a sticker located on the driver's side door jamb. And speaking of air, air conditioning is not so hot for your car's mileage either. Whenever you turn it on, it puts an added strain on your engine. Now, at highway speeds, it's probably better to use the A.C. rather than roll down the windows because of the aerodynamics. But around town, enjoy the fresh air. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. Sometimes I eat on the air. You guys don't mind, do you? It's K-I-O-Z San Diego. The name of the radio station. K-I-O-Z San Diego. Hit it. Yeah, come on, Sean. Hit it. Put your jibba jab on. Yeah, jibba jab. Our phone number here, 570-1053. Our text number, 35253. Beat the button. Are you guys seeing Sean? He's frozen now. He's frozen. He's froze. Oh, my God. You okay, Sean? Sean, can you fix it? Nice. One second. It's frozen in the 80s. Got a little reaction out of him. There he is. There's Shawnee moving around. He doesn't look happy. Because he hasn't hit it. Oh, come on. No, dude. Come on. That's it. Enough of your games. Stop playing this game with us. Come on, do it for me. Take me out to the bar. Do it for Cool Deep. Come on. Great point. Cool Deep.
is the name of Sean's 7-Eleven friend. He found out. It's Cool Deep. DJ Cool Deep. We're not sure he's a DJ. We don't know that. No, not that either. I kind of want to challenge this relationship. How so? Well, I just feel like it's such a shallow relationship. He's pretty superficial. I don't agree with that. Sean and Cool Deep do like the newlywed game. Get him on the phone and ask him questions. I don't know. I'm going to say Alien Resurrection. Oh, man. What is it, baby? That would be awesome. What flavor does Sean drink of a slushy every morning? Oh, my goodness. I knew you were going to ask this question. It's actually a mix of Coca-Cola and wild cherry. I'm going to say Calpico. No, Sean. Sky has a gopher at her house now. This is not good. Actually, I bet it's gophers, right? Yes, I believe it is.
What if it was a penguin? Gophers are bad, man. So are penguins, man. Dude, they account for more deaths. They account for more deaths in the North Pole than you can ever realize. They're the gophers of the North Pole. That's right. I am looking for some humane suggestions on how to deal with my gophers. Why humane? Because of the gophers. things that live. Do you care for your yard? Yes. Thank you. Skye, we... I care for gophers more. We caught a gopher and it lived and we released it in the wild. Well... How'd you catch it? We caught it with one of those traps. See, that's not gonna work for me. Why?
Because my yard backs up to an open space to an orchard. So there's probably thousands of gophers out there. And see, we thought we were good because where our fence ends, there's like 25 feet of compacted decomposed granite and weed blocks. So we're like, this guy's not going to burrow 25 feet to get to our lawn. And he did. Why? What do they want with your lawn? I don't know. I've got to research it. I've got to figure out what they're doing in there, what they're looking for. Maybe I can talk them off a ledge. I don't know. What's the problem? What does it look like? Oh, well, we woke up Sunday morning to find two big old clumps of dirt on our lawn. It basically looked like somebody took that sod you guys. How long it took us? Right? Yeah, so just these big old holes. Rob, honestly, did you take that personally for a second that that stupid gopher did that? Oh, I... Come on. You could genuinely see on Rob's face that he didn't like it. That looks pristine, beautiful over there. Yeah, yeah, I know. Anthrax. The booze are very happy. Throw me a little bit of cash. I'll come over. I'll smoke them out. There you go. Carton of cigarettes and you just blow it in that hole.
I'm scared I'm going to come home and the booze is going to be sticking like firecrackers down there. I don't need any of that. Listen, we tried everything and I'll tell you what worked. We tried everything. The thing that worked was the trap. The trap is what worked. Like we tried water. We tried. But where am I going to put them? My dad tried to, you know, put water down the hole. And turn the water, you know, turn the faucet on. That is awesome. Turn the hose on. Did that work? No. Nothing worked. He put, my dad, this was years ago when we lived in Yuma. My dad poured gas down there, lit the hole on fire. He did. He tried everything. That is rad. You can do that? My dad tried everything. I'll come over Friday night, you buy the booze, and we will try all this stuff. I'm into... Then he got these things that look like M80s, but they were for gophers, and they were smoke. And they're supposed to smoke them out. Didn't work. You tried pooping in the hole?
Did not try that. Did not try that. You ain't going to come back. I'll try that for free, Sky. We'll buy Rob a carne asada burrito. No, thank you. Ew. Wait 20 minutes to see what happens. Want to know how the trap works? Yeah. All right, so the trap. So the trap is a metal contraption, and it's got these two hooks. Okay. Hover. And the hooks are these gigantic hooks, and it's so scary setting the trap. Because you know like with a mousetrap, you're all like setting it all scared because if you accidentally, it's like snap. Yeah. Same thing with a gopher trap, only instead of a, you know, wire that... Yes, Ash? Shauna Moran Brown is on the inside line and she's got gopher... She got gopher stories? Gopher tips. You got gopher tips? I've got gopher control. Okay, hang on. Let me finish telling this and then you can tell the story. So picture these... Oh, okay. I'll tell you exactly what it looked like. This is what size they were. You know, the, uh, the latch that you put on your door to not let people come in at your house. Okay. It was about that size is how big the, the snappers were. And on the end of it is this big long chain. And at the end of the chain is like a big metal ring. And that's what you put your fingers through to pull it.
hole at the top disturbed. Right. So they like it covered. And so what you do is you dig so it's open. They don't like that. And then you put the trap there and they come up going, Hey, who messed up my hole? And when they do snapper, it snaps on them. And I remember that, you know, it was my job to go check the trap. Of course, my dad was a big wuss. So he said, you know, you go check the trap. So every day I would go out there. fearless when i was 12 like i was all excited to see a gopher and for about three or four days i would pull the um ring and the chain would go you know come out nothing let me tell you something the day i pulled that gopher out of there i jumped a hundred feet man because first of all they're underground and so their eyesight's not very good and they're weird looking because they're underground And their eyes never see the sun. So when they come out into the blazing hot Yuma, Arizona sun. Oh, poor thing. They're not happy. No. They're pissed. Yeah. And so they make this weird noise. But anyway, it didn't hurt the gopher, really. No, that sounds humane. And so my dad.
was able to get that trap off the gopher, and my dad nursed him back to life and took him out to the canals and dropped him off at the canals and let him have a new home. Yeah, nursed him back to life, threw him in the canal. Shauna, how and where did you have gopher probs? When we lived in Mission Hills, we lived on a... Did the gophers go, Hi! Let's go to the lampladder. Yo, Chris. started popping up in the backyard and it happened just like you sky right after we had it landscaped all nice nice of course but we just what we did was um because i was the same way like i don't want to kill these things and we tried to set the dog loose on them but my dog's a wuss so um we did the liquid detergent liquid detergent how do you do this uh you just do um a couple tablespoons of like
You know, liquid detergent with water and you spray. Are we talking about Dawn dishwashing detergent? Exactly. OK. And you spray that in their hole. And for whatever reason, I think they're supposed to eat it or something like that. And it makes them sick to their stomach. So they don't return. But it worked for us. For whatever reason, it worked for us. They went away. They went away. This guy sprayed Dawn dishwashing liquid from a spray bottle into the opening of the hole. That's some Old Man Baker stuff. Seriously, Old Man Baker, do you know if that would work? Old Man Baker is a gardener, and he knows a lot about golfers, too. Not golfers. Gophers. I kill those, too. You do? What do you do? Well, let me tell you something. Go ahead, Old Man Baker. What you want to do is... Okay, he's got a home remedy, Sky. Okay, I can't wait to hear it. You gotta get a tab soda. Do they still make that? Yeah, they actually still do make tab. Tab soda. Tab soda. You crack that open. Yeah. Take a drink of it because it's delicious. Old Man Baker. It's terrible. It's got aspartame. What the hell is that? It tastes gross. It's delicious. All right. I'm sure if you're 75 years old. I'm a diabetic. Oh, okay. So I take a sip of the tab.
You take a sip of the tab, and now you're refreshed. Okay, good. Now you can move on. I'm feeling good. So then what? You get some gunpowder. Gunpowder? You get gunpowder. Get your hands on some gunpowder. Okay. You put it down the hole. Yeah. You string it all the way down to, you know, the front porch. Sounds like a cartoon. You get a match. Yeah. And you light it. Wile E. Coyote? Isn't that dangerous? It goes all the way down to the hole. Yeah. And then if it doesn't go off, you stick your eye in the hole. Okay. Old Man Baker. That's not good. And my teeth ended up in the back side of my head. Okay. Terrible. That's really weird because you're looking at Old Man Baker and his teeth are in the back side of his head right now. It's so weird. I didn't want to bring it up. If that doesn't work, get some Tabasco. Yep. Some owl feathers. Owl feathers. Tabasco. Some owl feathers. Owl feathers. And sand from the Atlantic Ocean. Why? Why? From the Atlantic? I've never come back. From the Atlantic? We live in the Pacific. It'd be so easy to get. It's tough. It's tough. I tell you what. It's a foolproof plan. All right. There you go. Tabasco, owl feathers, and Atlantic Ocean sand. Yeah. We'll get rid of more. Go for a problem.
Hey, Shauna. Thank you, old man baker. You're welcome. Shauna. Shauna. Yes. When you sprayed the detergent. Yes. Was it a day, two days, never came back, or what was the deal? I honestly, I don't remember because it's been a few years. I was drunk. It's hard to tell, Mike, from my ivory tower. Stop it. Stop it. Somebody has to know about gophers. I want to know, what are they doing? Yeah, why do they got to make all those tunnels? Yeah. They just stay put and take a nap? Let's get Captain Steubing on the line. How did he deal with gopher? That's right. What did he do? You've got a figure, right? I mean, really? Here's what you do, Skye. No. You get a female gopher to dress up in a bikini. Okay. And then walk by the hole. And when the other gopher comes out and whistles at him, you just grab him. Okay. That sounds like a foolproof plan. You know what's so ridiculous about that plan, though? What? Like, where are you supposed to get a gopher bikini? Oh, I didn't think of that. Well, actually, you...
What you should do is you dress up like a gopher in a bikini. I'm sure Sean's got one of those in the closet. Man, you guys are making it worse. 5701053, you little gopher lovers. They're the worst. They are. So why are you so freaked out about disposing? I don't want to hurt them. Well, don't think of it like... Hurting them, think of it like killing them. I don't want to kill them either, Mike. If you think about hurting them. Quick death, quick death. Yeah, hurting them implies like, you know, being mean. And I think there's like thousands of them out there, so I feel like. You're never going to get. No, Mike. Yeah, but if you do that dishwashing thing and they die in the hole. No, I don't want them.
to die anyway. You know what? Return to the earth that way. Tell them that you're a timeshare and all they have to do is come to your house and then they get a free stand. They'll roll their eyes and be like, I don't want any fun of this. I've heard of this before. Or just like put the placenta in the hole. Yeah. But then it'll grow really nice. They'll probably like it. Full of nutrients. P1 Diesel, are you there? Yeah, I'm there. What do you got? Hey, Mikey. What we did is we took these windmills you can get at Harbor Freight. They're called gopher windmills. Yeah. And the blades spin so fast and it sends some sound down the shaft of the windmill into the ground and they hate it so much they run away. He's Zappoing us. Not at all. I wanted a windmill, so this is cool. Can it also generate electricity? Hey, Ed Begley. Oh, dude, it would be so awesome if it could do both. That would be rad. That would be rad. Scott, you can also pee in the holes because they think it's another animal, so you can use the left over here. I've heard that. It's only for sunburn, guys. No, Eddie, I actually have heard that. Just use a big gulp cup. Okay, I would prefer not to do any of that. But you're used to it. The windmill thing sounds good because it's continuous. Yeah. And they just would hate it. They hate it. They don't want to have any part of it. I enjoy that very much. I will look for that. Harbor Freight, thank you.
I messed up my tomatoes. No, Mike. Did you listen to Old Man Baker? I tried. Oh, my gosh. She's so right about that. I'd argue with Ashley except for the fact that I'm very passionate about growing tomatoes. Well, when we were in Denver for four days, you were having your wife take pictures and send them to you in Denver. Okay. Not of his child, of his tomato. Oh, come on. Don't make it sound like that. Mike, you abandoned your tomatoes. I abandoned my child. You're like, you want to see these pictures that I made Rebecca take of? And we're like, yeah, my tomatoes. We're like, what? I've abandoned my boy. I feel terrible. You should. Well, I video conference with my son every morning. I know. What about your tomatoes? Yeah. She wouldn't do it. She wouldn't do it. I've abandoned my child. I asked. I asked. So what happened? How'd you ruin him? I stuck too much nitrogen in. Oh, yeah. Nitrogen? You got to be careful. Yeah. I can get up to 88 miles an hour. They went to the future. How do you put nitrogen in tomatoes? I stuck too much nitrogen in them, and now they're big and bushy, but there's no flowers that turn into tomatoes. Oh, well, what's the point? I know it. So now what? I just wait until it cycles. Yesterday I had a little fun with weed killer. That, man, it's too much of a feeling of power. I just had to put it down. It was too powerful.
Anybody that's ever sprayed stuff with a weed killer knows exactly what I'm talking about. It's way too fun. It's so fun. And you're like, winner, winner. Oh, geez. What are you, Charlton Heston? This is the truth. Let's see. Mikey, you should ask Bill Murray for gopher advice. That's true. He knew what was up. Yeah, that's like how I envision my husband right now. Because he already wears this like goofy hat when he works out in the yard. Sorry, babe. I love you today. What does it look like? It kind of. It looks a lot like a fisherman's hat. You'd expect to see hooks in it. Rob knows what I'm talking about. Right now your husband is just staring at the radio. Squinting his eyes. We have nothing sacred. He's so cute. Don't say that. He is. He is adorable. He's adorable.
a very handsome masculine way. Stop it. What? Don't call him cute. I love him. I love him. Might as well say Tinkerbell or something when you say it. That's terrible. Hootie Fruity over there. Don't you say he wears a football helmet when he does it? A little bellerina cap? Yeah. Terrible. So I just picture her. Take care of your head by wearing your helmet. Mikey, the same thing that Shauna suggested works for wasps. Oh, really? Mix Dawn soap and water, spray the wasp, and they hit the ground instantly. The soap gets on their wings and they can't fly. Then you get a huge shovel and start screaming and swinging. Oh, no. Last part's optional. That's P1 wah-wah-wee-wah. Make sure it's a wasp, not a bee, because, you know, we're dealing with colony collapse out there. We don't need to, you know. Hey, Sky, you know what I was thinking of myself? You know what I was thinking of myself? Just trying to help people, yeah. when I go out to do my tomato stuff, there's always like four or five bees buzzing around and I'm like, where do you guys live? Because wherever it is, I bet it's messed up. You are cute. Don't you ever... Don't say that. Thank you. Rent Bee Movie, it'll explain everything. Does it? For real? It's like a documentary, bro. In all honesty. Because dude...
I saw these two, three B's and I'm like, all I could think about was Bear Grylls getting it, you know. Did you ever see that episode? Was that face not amazing? Amazing. Dude. It's beyond explanation. I mean, like, I can't even start explaining it. You can't describe it. Because I can't give it words that'll give it respect enough. You guys are weird. You don't. Sky. I'm. Oh, that's infuriating. I know it. If she were to see it, she would have. Forget it. Let her be naive, Mike. I know it. But I was thinking to myself, like, where are you guys all about? Where do you go? Wherever you go, there's a whole bunch of you. And I bet it sounds scary where you live. It sounds buzzy and freaky. And I would love to eat their wild honey. sometime because we have some orchards near our house, so they have bee boxes out there. And a couple times a year, they get the dude with a full-on bee suit. And he's out there, and he's opening the boxes, and we are watching. Wouldn't you like to do that one time? No. Why, dude? I like to watch it, but I would not like to do that. Skye, if you're safe, you would be afraid that one would get in there? Would you be afraid one would get in there? No, I'm not really afraid of being stung by bees. I don't trip on it, but still, why? If I could be 100% certain,
that I wouldn't get stung, I'd love to do it. No! Just for the experience. The only thing that I kind of don't like about it is it sounds hot. You almost called me cute again. I know, I did. I did. I stopped, though. I stopped. Thank you. God, that's the worst. I picture Mike running from the bulls in his bee suit. She is something else, man. He wants to run with the bulls. She is something else. Why does she hate you? I don't. I don't know. I mean... I have this all the time. But if it's too hot out, neither of those things. Yeah. Just let the guy have his childhood dreams, all right? He didn't have a good childhood. I didn't have one. That's a very masculine dream. Shut up. What? I'm helping. It's not effeminate to want to put on a bee suit, necessarily. Is it? No. I didn't think so. No. I think it's very androgynous. Don't use the word we don't know what it means. Speaking of, you know what was on TV yesterday? You know what was on TV? Rebecca was, I don't even know what network it was, but it was that dude that dresses like Peter Pan. Take a guess at how many people have visited his website. Eddie, take a guess. Give me a number. Seven million. Seven million.
You nailed it. Really? Oh, my gosh. Seven million. Wow. Eddie, you nailed it. Holy cow. Yeah. Seven million people have visited his website. It's crazy that Peter Pan got. You know who I'm talking about, Rob? Yeah. What? Yeah, I'm on there. That's my homepage. That's my homepage. What was he doing on TV, though? They were showing. It was so weird. They were showing like this. It was some TV show that she watches where. The episode was about him and also about this little person that's married to a tall guy. Like, that was what the show was about. So, strange lifestyles. Freaky deekies. Yeah. I don't know what it was. I think it was on the We Network. We! That was crazy. P1 Aaron has a suggestion. How you doing, guys? Something we used to do at the fire station when they went through our lawn was road flares. Stick one down there.
The humane way would be not plugging up the other holes and they'll come out the other side. The inhumane way would be plugging up the other holes. Yeah, I don't even know that you could find the other holes. The other holes are probably like in your neighbor's yard. It definitely gets them out of there, though. Yep. Thank you very much. Again, sounding dangerous. Did I miss anything big? Ashley's grandmother, for her birthday, gave her a plant and it meant a lot to her. And her animal destroyed it. How much is it going to take? Why does she love that? I don't know, Eddie. Demon child. That dog ruins her life. Everything. It destroys her life. She eats up Ashley's stuff. She poops on things. She has fleas. She has fleas. Oh, yeah. Oh, Ash. So this is a, we got to tackle this this week. I got to like flea shampoo her. She's finally getting rid of her, huh? Put her down. Oh, you're true. I got a flea shampoo. Let her go.
Flee shampoo her. Releasing her to the wild, eh? Yep. Oh, you are all so funny. Put her on a little raft, send her in the ocean. That's right. Never. Back to the homeland. I'll do it for you. Tasmania, here I come. Never. This dog causes such problems for Ash. Awful. But she loves Sammy, man. Yeah, I mean, she does it because... Well, you were going to say she's adorable, and then you realized... No, I was going to say she's a dog. I can't say that. I was going to say... She's a dog, you know, and dogs get into things. Not all of them. But when you supervise them. What about breeds that don't train them? Well, see, that's the kicker is the training them thing. I thought you were a dog trainer. I am, but I just haven't put the effort in. You're vegetarian. I haven't put the effort in. Like, I honestly haven't put the effort into trainers. But she knows leave it. She'll literally just chew things to make me mad when I leave her because she gets upset that I leave her. Why are you leaving? Because I got to go to work. You know, I got a life. No. And so I forgot to put the plant up and she just destroyed it to pieces. I took pictures of it so I could show my grandma. I still haven't told my grandma because I'm not ready to tell her yet. But it's just the plant. No, you don't understand what we went through to get the plant. The UPS guy had to come like six different times. It was crazy the effort that was put forth for me to get this freaking plant. And it was for my birthday. So I've had it for maybe a month and a half. Sammy destroyed it. That's terrible. And she has fleas.
Double whammy. I cut my head shaving it for the first time in about four years. I know. I never do that. Using a machete? I was using a machete because I was out of Mach 3s. That happens. I nicked it and I thought it was no big whoop. I shaved my head in the shower and I thought it was no big whoop. Got out, dried myself with a white towel. Looked like somebody threw hamburger meat at it. Oh, yuck. You've got to be careful with those white towels. It was worse than I thought, so my wife put a purple Band-Aid on it. That's sweet. And gay. Was it Elmo? Nope, just purple. That's not as cool as it should be. No, it is not. Rolling Stone Magazine. You guys, picture Rolling Stone Magazine in your head. Got a visual? Oh, the Jonas Brothers. I don't mean an actual issue. That's creepy that you know that. Mike, they're on this issue. Oh, come on, Eddie. Hello? I mean, like, picture the magazine. How dare you. Well, it's changing. Oh, I don't like that. It's going to be regular magazine size now. Cheapos. Economy, bro. Go green. Go green. Save paper. Make it smaller. Because we care.
They say that their subscriptions are good. It's just buying it at the store is where they're suffering. And they think it's because of its oversize that either it has to be like on the very bottom shelf or the very top shelf because it doesn't fit with all the normal size ones. So they're hoping if they go to the normal size, it'll be right there in your eyeline and you'll be more likely to buy it. I think so too. I don't enjoy reading it. I like it. The deal is they think they're... smarter than they are. It's one of those deals. Come on, guys. And if you're not a Democrat, that's not the magazine for you to read. Well, which magazine is? There's no magazine out there. Everything's geared towards the lib. Republican Weekly. That's it. The Smart Guy Journal for dumb guys. The Smart Guy Journal for dumb guys. So the new size Rolling Stone will start with their October 30th issue. Scientists say that they're closer to a cloaking device. Yes! Finally! I want one for my car. What is it? Well, so basically they've before been able to cloak a two-dimensional object. What does that mean? What is a cloaking device? Like something that bends the light around the object, redirects the light around the object, so you just... You're hidden. Yeah, you can't see it there. No. Dude.
So they just... You can't do that. Researchers just demonstrated for the first time cloaking a three-dimensional object. That is rad. Yeah, so they're one step closer, and of course there could be so many applications for that. They already have it. Especially with the military. Really? Yeah, man. Like cloaking a jet plane that's flying into enemy territory. Exactly, dude. How rad is that? Cool. Cloaking device on. Cloaking device off. Don't know. Now they see us. Thanks. We're screwed. Shields up. Shields down. Mike. You were bad at this. Now we see us. Let's see. Clay Aiken became a dad on Friday. Hi. Clay. Okay. And according to Clay's blog or wherever the heck he was talking about this. It was on it just this morning. A men's restroom. So interesting. Well, listen, Clay Aiken has not said that he is gay. He, whenever asked that, refuses to answer. I never have that guy. There he is. Okay. It's a clip of Clay Aiken. I'm British. Why is he? Why that came out of nowhere? Yeah. Why is he playing cribbage? Yeah, that's weird. So he had this baby with his friend who's like 50 years old and they're just friends. They're not romantically involved in any way. Where do you meet him?
But, no, it's a girl. So, anyways, the baby was born on Friday named Parker Foster Aiken. And the baby. Parker Foster Aiken? It's the two last names, his last name and her last name, Foster Aiken. Got it. But the first name's Parker. So, Clay Aiken claims that he became a dad Friday 8-8-08 and his baby was born at 8-08 in the morning, according to him. I see. Which is pretty. I mean, the timing on that. Kind of easy to find that out of check. Yeah. If that's true or not. So, there we go. Clay Aiken and Daddy. Little baby boy. Well, congratulations, Clay. Russia's Prime Minister's upset with the U.S. for getting involved with their deal with Georgia. Yeah. That's right, Mac. Oh, no. Listen, thank you. I love my music. Here's the deal. You know, these crazy commies come around attacking Atlanta, and I'm like, get out of here. No, it's not that Georgia. It's the country. You stay out of our country, boy. It's the country, Georgia. Georgia's ours. You can have, like, Maine, but that's not even really a state. President Bush, it's the nation. Georgia is ours, you know? It's the nation of Georgia. No, no, no. Come on.
We're talking about the nation, Georgia. Listen, buddy, I've got short timers. I don't even really care. You can go to Georgia. Now you're just giving away states. You can start giving states away. A bag of chaw, I'll give away anything. A bag of chaw. A little copie. Okay. Is that what you call Copenhagen? That's what everybody calls it, man. Yeah, that's right. But no, I laid the smackdown on PewDie. I said, hey, buddy. You better chill out, man. Vladimir Putin. You call him PewDie. He hates it. He's like, get out of here, Bush. I said, you take that, PewDie. You leave Georgia alone. Apparently, he's upset at you. Yeah, he's mad. Because you're trying to get involved. Because I call him pooty. Yep. And also because the U.S. was airlifting troops from Georgia out of Iraq and bringing them home to Georgia to fight Russia. Oh. Georgia. Say it, President. Georgia. Thank you, President Bush. That's gorgeous. So that's why he's mad at you, President Bush. For my rendition of Georgia on my mind? No. Like I said, because of the airlifting the troops out of Iraq. I got nothing to do with that.
Well, no, you're the head of the... That's not my business. Okay, whatever. Oh, you are confused. You are something else, President Bush. Listen, I ain't got much time left. I gotta start something up here. All right. Stir the pot a little. You have a screw loose. That's true, I do. I'll talk to Bob Costas later. You already talked to Bob Costas. I talked to some midget. No, Bob Costas. Oh, dwarf, sorry. You are so... Little person. Yeah. Did you guys hear about all the cash that spilled on the freeway in L.A.? It's not free for all. Shut up. You better get headed, man. All right, I'm out. You're too late. So it happened in Monterey Park, California, which is outside of Los Angeles. And I guess some dude was on a motorcycle and had a bag full of cash on his motorcycle. Don't know why. a hole ripped open in the bag on the freeway, on the 10, and money started going out all over the road. So people immediately just slammed on the brakes, I mean, in the middle of the 10, and just got out and started picking up all the money and then got in their cars and took off. So by the time the police got there, all the money had already been picked up and they don't know who got what and how much was lost. It sounds so dangerous. I pulled over for a quarter the other day.
Rob would have pulled out his giant butterfly net. I knew I bought this for a reason. He carries one for such an occasion. Holy Toledo. That's gnarly. Legoland is opening that big aquarium today. I want to see that. Is it made out of Legos? I wonder if they did. It's not going to hold water. I think it's both. So they have 175,000-gallon aquarium that has thousands of creatures like sharks and stingrays and everything. But then they also, in Legos, have recreated the lost city of Atlantis and all that stuff. In the water? I don't know if the Legos are actually in the water or on the side. I would think they're probably not biodegradable. No, they're probably not good for the marine life there. So today they have a kelp-cutting ceremony scheduled. I want to go. That's today. Really? Yeah. I like aquariums. I like saltwater stuff. It's Legoland, huh? I take the boy. That's true. I'll dig it. Let's see. That's it. We're done. Paris Hilton is going to do a cartoon with Stan Lee. That's one thing I forgot to tell you. You probably shouldn't have brought that up. Do you know about it, Eddie? No, I don't want to know about it. Yeah, but Stan Lee, you know the... I like Stan Lee. Hate Paris Hilton.
Yeah, but Stan Lee, you know, he does comics. I know, Mike. Yeah, he wants to make one about her. No, he doesn't. Remember Superman? I mean, Spider-Man? Don't you remember Stan Lee? It's already a done deal. They're doing it. They're working together. Yes, she says that she's created a superhero with Stan Lee, which is based on her. She's created a superhero. That's what she says. Based on her with Stan Lee, and it will be for a cartoon series for MTV. It'll be terrible. It won't be good. You don't know. I do. Cher was going to get married. Yeah. How old is Cher? 80. 61. She was getting married to who? Yeah, she had plans to get married before the end of the year to Bernie Mac. Too soon. Too soon. That one even stung a little bit. Too soon. Her son.
Elijah Blue Almond, you know, Greg Almond's son with her. Almond. Almond. Almond. Which way is right? It's Almond. But Skye says, Skye, when she's talking about the nut and almond, she calls it an almond. She can't talk, Mike. Whoa! Hey! Eddie, what are you doing? I'm just checking out some clips here. But if you pretend you're doing something else, it won't distract Sky. See what you're doing. Bernie Mac died. Okay. We talked about it many times this morning, jerk. You just made a too soon joke. I didn't see that. It was the ironic part. I didn't know. So her son's been very sick ever since he came back from India two years ago. And so they're postponing the wedding. There it is. Hopefully he gets better. There it is. He's been sick for two. How funny.
570-1053 is our phone number. Call us at the beginning and end of every show. You can call us right now and get on the radio. Forgot to do the YouTube clip of the day today. I know, how stupid. This one's long gone. And P1 Trivia. Tomorrow. Tamale, Mike. We'll see. Let's see. Let's take your calls. Mikey Show. P1D-Dub. What's up? Just out of curiosity, I've always wanted to know what radio station presets all you guys have in your own vehicles. Oh, that's a good question. That's a super good question. And you can't lie. Oh, I'll tell you the truth. Okay. The first one is Rock 105 out of principle. Like, I do it out of principle. Like, I would feel wrong not having it be Rock 105. Right. The second one...
What is my second one? Oh, my second one is AM600 Kogo. Because I like to listen to Dr. Laura sometimes. Greetings. My third one is the sports station. Our sports station. Extra Sports 1360, baby. That's right. That's all I listen to. I want to hear from you, Mikey. That's right. And then it's all a bunch of AMs. But I don't really listen to AM, FM all that often. I listen to a lot of, like, talk on the satellite. You know, I listen to a lot of sports talk and regular talk and Christian talk and all kinds of talk. I like talk. So, Eddie, what about you? I've always wondered that. Yeah, I got Rock 105 as my, I'm a P1. Yeah. And then I listen to Extra Sports, 1360. Yeah. And sometimes when the Padres are on, I don't know why. Yeah. They're awful, Mike. Yeah, they are. Oh, no. And if I'm listening to music, I'll actually listen to Jack. Yeah. Because of the variety of stuff that they do. It doesn't drive you nuts. It's probably 70-30. You know, 70% of the time, it's all right music. You know, stuff that I would listen to. Every time I listen to it. And then 30% of the time, it's like, play that funky music wipe away. I know it. I'm like, get me out of here. See, I would try that every once in a while, that Jack. And then when I did, it was like borrowing someone's iPod. It was like.
I don't like their iPod. Sometimes they'll play stuff on my iPod. Really? Like the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac and Van Halen and stuff like that. You want to hear something weird? Even with my iPod, I don't like shuffle mode. I love shuffle mode. That's all I listen to. I just want to have the same meal all the time. I like a variety of stuff. Skye, what about you? Well, it's hard to say because my presets are not in the right order. You know what I mean? Just because you're the number one button doesn't mean that's the station I listen to the most. Yep. So if I had to reset my presets, gosh, I feel like really like Shauna's looking at the radio. Like, don't you say it, lady. Oh, come on. We're just being honest. Okay. So number one is Rock 105 out of principle, of course. Number two is Sophie. Yeah. Well, you're a girl. Yeah.
Sophie. It's a radio station? Yeah, I'm a fan of Sophie. There's a station in town and it has that name. Sophie? Even though that's the weirdest thing ever. It's terrible. Yeah. And then number two, I mean number three, would be 933. Because you like to jam. And then... And then you like to boom. Yeah, and then like Z90, Blazin, and then 94.9. Blazin? There's something called Blazin? What's that? It's hip-hop. It's all Latina music. All Latina all the time. Guy knows what Blazin's all about. There you go. Thanks for the call, brother. Thanks, buddy. Space Boy is on the line. What the? What's up, dude? Holy moly. I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the blogs from everyone on the show, and I wanted to encourage all the P1s to check them out if they wanted even more insight into the lives and thoughts of the people on the show. The blogs are good, man. Yeah, go to MikeyShow.com and stop calling men cute. That was really sweet and cute. Oh, don't say sweet as even a letter. If you go to MikeyShow.com keyword section, type in the word blogs and you can see our blogs. Well, Ashley may think that chemistry is a type of mathematics, but she does write very well. There you go. There you go. She does. She does. Come on. Thank you, Space Boy. Very minor. Read my blog, see for yourself. How about that? The lovely and talented Missy is coming up next. Today on Nooner.
she has double shots. So I encourage you to listen to that. We'll be back at 5.30 tomorrow morning. Mikey shows out late.
