Michael Phelps's record 11th gold and water-filled goggles kicked off a debate among Mikey, Eddie, Ashley, Skye, and callers over whether Speedo technology or the swimmer's talent deserved credit. Sean's in-studio visit became a running comedy about his germophobia, while Skye's forgotten deodorant threatened the billboard photo shoot and Boston Rob's Gas Monkey stunt shed giant bananas before P1 Chris won a $25 gas card. Michelle's call about her daughter's cheerleading hazing split the crew and callers between protecting a distressed teenager and treating humiliation as team-building, while another audience discussion revisited horror films the hosts saw far too young. The show also condemned China's decision to hide a seven-year-old Olympic singer behind a prettier lip-syncing child, argued with P1 Eagle about patriotism and rooting against Team USA, advised a frightened girlfriend to address her steroid-using boyfriend only from safety, and finally learned that P1 Go Canada's anti-America call was a Zappo prank.
What happened, in order
Phelps Makes History
Michael Phelps won his 11th career Olympic gold medal, breaking the all-time record while still chasing three more victories in Beijing.
Sean's Germ Barrier
Eddie repeatedly invaded germaphobe Sean's space while the crew mocked Sean for recoiling from hugs, inspecting restaurant silverware, and refusing food placed on a paper placemat.
Suit or Swimmer
Dante, Eddie, Ashley, Skye, and other callers argued over whether Speedo's new suit material and pool technology unfairly aided swimmers or whether Phelps's talent and training explained the records.
Cheerleading Hazing
Michelle said her freshman daughter came home crying after cheerleaders pushed her into a pool, made her dress strangely, and forced her to sit alone at lunch, prompting a fierce argument over protection versus team-buil
Movies Seen Too Young
Mikey, Eddie, Skye, and callers traded stories about seeing films such as The Exorcist, Poltergeist, Jaws, and Faces of Death far too young and carrying the fear for years.
The Hidden Singer
The hosts condemned Olympic organizers in China for hiding a talented seven-year-old singer because of her teeth and putting a prettier child on camera to lip-sync her performance.
Patriotism on Trial
Olympic pride turned into a heated debate when P1 Go Canada and P1 Eagle questioned automatic loyalty while Mikey, Eddie, and Skye argued that criticizing the government did not justify rooting against Team USA.
Gas Monkey Mayhem
Boston Rob's giant magnetic bananas flew off the radio van before the monkey-suited promotion chased down P1 Chris and awarded him a $25 gas card.
Steroids Confirmed
A listener searched her angry boyfriend's gym bag, confirmed he was using steroids, and was advised by Eddie and Mikey to confront him remotely, demand treatment, and leave if she feared violence.
Photo-Shoot Panic
Skye admitted forgetting deodorant before the billboard photo shoot, and Sean's horrified germaphobic reaction sent the studio into laughter.
Go Canada Zappo
P1 Go Canada called back, repeated his anti-America case, and then revealed that the elaborate argument was a Zappo prank built around a sunburn punch line.

6-0-7. Vice Dick Cheney will be in town today visiting... Michael Phelps, man, that guy is... He won gold medals. And number five, he won the 200-meter butterfly and the 800-meter freestyle relay. He's got 11 career gold medals so far. Here's him winning his fourth gold. Wow. Quite a statement. Of all time. He is. He is? Yeah, he's smashed the record. He's won more gold medals. Than any other athlete ever. Not just from the U.S., but in the world of planet Earth. Ever. The record was nine, and that was held by like four people, including like Carl Lewis and Mark Spitz. Phelps destroys it. Eleven. Is it possible that he could win more? Yeah. He's going for eight this year. He's only at five. He's got three more races. He's going to shatter it. Wow. Dude. Kid's crazy, man. That is so cool. That's really cool. And what's so upsetting to me is I haven't seen it.
So I still have a chance to see three more things, right? Yes. Do you know when, Eddie? Today is the only day that he's not in, like, a finals. He's doing, like, the prelims. So he'll race today, but in prelims to qualify for the finals. And then I think the next couple days he's, you know, got his other races. So probably, like, tomorrow and Friday I stand a chance of seeing him. Oh, yeah, for sure. I love it. He's the story right now in the Olympics, so you're not going to... I mean, if you watch any Olympic coverage, you'll see it. Awesome. That's great. My name is Mikey, and I'm the host of the show. I am 38 years of age. Woke up late for me today. Got up at... I got up today at 2.40. It's just late. Get out of bed. I can tell you about yesterday. I'll tell you about yesterday when we go around the room and introduce everybody. Let's see. Eddie is our producer, our sports guy. He is 35 years old. An Olympic gold medalist as well. He's won 12 records. He just shattered the record that was held by Michael Phelps. Amazing. Oh, congrats. A little cleaning jerk. That's right. Huh? Heard it right. That's right. Yep. That's what it's called. Really? Got it up over his head. You're welcome.
Savannah is our news girl today. Look at that. Skye has naturally curly hair, and when she straightens it, she needs to go to the salon and have it professionally done. Yeah. I love it. I think she looks gorgeous when she does it. I cannot look at myself in the mirror. Why? What? Because it's like looking at a stranger. It's like looking in your own... A pretty stranger. But it's like looking at you, but it's not you, and it's too trippy, so I try and avoid looking in mirrors when my hair is straight. Like a vampire. Yes. It's not Eddie's style. Eddie is Skye's work husband, and it's not his thing. I don't like my Skye to look different. He likes his Skye like he likes his Skye. That is 100% true. Luckily, Skye and I went to the movies together last night, and I was able to preview it. It seems weird that we would go to the movies. Do your spouses ever have an issue with the fact that you guys date? I think they understand. No, I mean, we tell them all about the movies, so they feel like they were there too, which is nice. So when you guys go on a date... And we bring them leftovers. A little soggy bed. Oh, there you go. It's a win-win.
They really did. They went to a movie together last night, Eddie and Skye. Sean is our sound effects guy. Oh, my goodness, Mike. He's in the studio. I mean, look at him. He's sitting right there. He's sitting right across from me right now. Salt and pepper right there. No, don't. Uh-oh. Can you talk to Eddie, please? What do you want me to talk to him about? Well, you know, he's doing the invade my space thing. I'm sitting right here. I'm sitting right here. Yeah, I know. But the whole, I mean, ever since I walked in. What did he do? One thing he did that was wrong. Well, just now he was inching his finger over toward me. Did I touch you? Like a disgusting, you know, little maggot inchworm. I didn't see anything. I don't want it. He's doing it right now. I don't like it. He's doing like the little caterpillar thing with his finger. I don't like it. He's letting his index finger crawl along the table. And then I tried to plug in the computer, you know, to get the audio into the board. And he spins around. Oh, shut up. You know what? He's dabbing his eyes. I know. Yeah, hilarious. Just, you know, stay in your space. That's all. Thank you. You invaded my space. Actually, I didn't. I'm trying to do my job. And what you did was you spun around and tried to touch me. And I don't appreciate it. Sean's a germaphobe. I want to shake the man's hand, Mike. I'm sorry. It was a little bit more than that. It was a little bit more than that. That's what me and Rob do every morning. That's what we do. Okay, good. That's good for you.
That's good for the both of you. It's not good for me. But Rob's not a... Rob's not a drunk club, though. Well, if you're sitting in that chair, then you're my partner for the day. This is how we roll. It's never worked that way. Can I show you guys how Sean reacted yesterday when my wife went to hug him? She does it just naturally. She's a nice person. She's a nice person. he walked in and she went hey Sean you know Rebecca and so she comes over and she goes like this and he you know how when something happens and you just do it and then later you go what am I laughing at you know that thing I've described so he went into auto mode of like oh okay and then realized and so she had her arms like pretty much getting as they touch him he literally goes it was like you can tell you're like getting somebody doing the little mallet on your knee and the reflex. It wasn't like rude. It was like instinctually he just recoiled from her touch. That's ridiculous. And it was funny to watch. It was funny to watch. You're a bad person. I'm not a bad person. I don't like that. And I appreciate that, but it's a bit much.
It's a bit much. Well, welcome, Sean. And we went to dinner, and of course, he's inspecting everything. That's not true. Yeah, you did. Nah, I inspected two things. Inspected my knife and your knife. All right, three things. What did you inspect? The fork. The fork. Your knife was... right out of Eddie's drawer. That's doubly insulting. There's nothing wrong with mine. Riddled with debris. That's probably not true. You guys know how they have paper placemats? Oh my gosh. We went to Fidel's. Hey, Fidel's. Great restaurant, right? Mexican restaurant. Solana Beach. We're all hungry. Let's go get some to eat. Where do you want to go? Rebecca says, I feel like I have Mexican food. What about Fidel's? Okay, cool. We go to Fidel's and they have paper placemats. And when dinner comes, they bring your flour tortillas wrapped in tinfoil. So I take my flour tortilla out and I put it on the paper placemats. And he flipped out, man. Why is that bad? What?
That's what I said. I'm like, and I even considered it. It's a fresh placemat. It's not like it's old. It's as, dude, as soon as that thing hit the paper placemat, he goes like, I can't say the word. It's not, I mean, first of all, it's not like sanitary at all. At all. How do you know? Well, you don't know. That's my point. Yeah. That's my point. So you would never use a paper napkin. No, I would use a paper napkin. What's the difference? Well, the difference is you're putting something on the paper and then putting it inside your body. I can't have that. Like your mouth, where your taste buds are. I can wipe off my mouth, but if I were to put that in my mouth and put it in my stomach, that would not happen. He was so gross. Look at me like that. It's not that outrageous. You put your food on your plate. But there's no room. There's plenty of room. No, no, no. Rebecca is such an enabler, man. She's such an enabler. No, she understands. She gets it, dude. Total codependent behavior. No, no, no, no. It's called agreeing with someone. She goes, like, totally seriously. She goes, babe, don't do that. And I go, honey, I didn't even... She goes, put it on your food. Put it on top of the food.
enabling him to do this. That's not enabling. It's disgusting. I said, all right. You're a grown-ass man. You can do whatever you want. I said, fine. It's upsetting our friend. He's our guest and our friend. Okay. Uh-oh. Those paper placemats could potentially, before they arrive at the restaurant, be sitting in a warehouse. And everybody knows warehouses are full of rats. So you could have like Hantavirus on the... Don't laugh. You could have it on that. You are an imbecile. Eddie rolled his eyes. He threw his head back. He threw his head back and rolled his eyes. I kind of agree with Eddie. No. Really? Well, I'm just saying. How many things? Like your soda. It was in a warehouse with... Oh, you've never seen them? Absolutely. You've never seen them with a soda can? That's why you clean them. He wipes them down. He doesn't sterilize them. He wipes them down. If I could, I would. He cleans them thoroughly. A package of napkins in a warehouse. I mean...
Probably wrapped up. Yeah. They're not out all willy-nilly in the warehouse. Of course not. Of course not. Well, we love our friend and we support him. You can't be 100% on anything. We love him the way he is and we wouldn't change a thing about him. Better safe than sorry, kids. We wouldn't change a thing about him. Better safe than sorry. Oh, my gosh. Ashley is our assistant producer. Now you're talking. She's 25 years of age. Mommy's got blonde hair. And she's the sweetest pie. Sweetest pumpkin pie. Ash, can you hear me? She's a good kid. Boston Rob. Oh, look at that kid. He's our man about town. Is 25 years of age. He has asked his girlfriend, who's now his fiance, to marry him. She's accepted, and one day they'll get married. Awesome! And he will be acting as phone screener for the day, I'm guessing, right? Yes. Yeah, because he's not phone screener anymore.
But he will be acting as phone screener just for today so that Sean can sit at the big boy table, which is where Sky and Eddie reside. Yeah. Yeah. The best. Big boy table. Well, if I were. I'm a big boy. If you were to be looking at where we sit. Yeah, where is everyone? I'm at 6 o'clock. Eddie's at 9 o'clock. Okay. Sean's at 12 o'clock. Sky's at 3 o'clock. And Ashley. is right above the 12 o'clock. She sits behind Sean. Stare at mic through glass. That's right. She's the cuckoo clock. That's right. My own little sanctuary. That's right. Bob sits at 2 o'clock in another studio. Hey, rubber shades. Zethian. Oh, excuse me. I screwed his name up. Roosevelt. Zethian. Oates. The third. Junior.
Esquire, M.D. Rosie. Yes, very accomplished. He sits at 5 o'clock behind me, just for today. Tomorrow it'll all be different. But he is the youngest person on the show. He is what they call low man on the totem pole. Well, he is. He's the newest guy. Weird. Very weird. He is over there in the corner, and he has obviously just shaved his head. Freshly shorn. Freshly shorns. That's right. And for those of you that are wondering, why is Sean in town? And for those of you that are new listeners and saying, what do you mean Sean's in town? I thought he was a member of the show. Well, he is, but he doesn't live in San Diego. He does the show each day. Eddie, you knew that was going to upset him when you just reached your hand out. It's going to be a long morning. It is. I miss the guy. I haven't seen him in a while. We're having a good time. We're not having a good time. You're ruining our time. I don't know why you're acting like this. This is what I'm talking about. You're overreacting. That one I saw. That one I actually saw with my own two eyes. I pretended to put sanitizer on his microphone. That's nice. He says it was sanitizer.
Yeah, what do you think it was? Eddie, why are you flexing your muscles? Oh, because that's hot. Well, he does have some guns. I'll admit that. All right, let's focus. Come on. It was not sanitizer, by the way. It was Ebola. Mike, I'm sorry he's acting like this. Come on. Let's move on. Well, anyway, he lives in San Francisco. I live in San Jose. I work in San Francisco. He works in San Francisco, lives in San Jose. And the reason that he doesn't live here with us is because when we all moved here... It was discussed and it was decided he didn't want to. I want him to. I want him to live here. Me too. Can we make that happen? I would love to, man. Talk to your friend, Sean. Sean, can you move here? Please, Sean, for me. Sean, he wants to, I think, live. But he's one of a kind. Yes. You can bring your male partner here. California, it's cool everywhere. Now I really want to come here. Listen, one of the things about Sean, and this is one of those things that's a very opposite part of his personality, but it is his personality. Sean can be very cutting when it comes to making fun of people. Talk about it, Mike. He can. He can really make fun of people. But at the same time, he's a very sensitive man.
And doesn't necessarily want that to be focused on him. Yeah. There's very few people that understand Sean. Like his 7-Eleven friend Most Def. Yes. Not Most Def. He gets Sean. No. It's Knees Deep. Oh. Knees Deep. I apologize. It's not. What's the name of his friend from 7-Eleven? It's Cool Deep. Cool Mo Deep. Cool Mo Deep. Awesome. Back to 7-Eleven. That's right. 570-1053 is our phone number. Give us a call beginning and end of every show. You can give us a call and it's open phones. The reason Sean's in town is because after the show today, we are meeting with a photographer, professional photographer, and we're going to take some pitches for a new billboard ad campaign for the Mikey show that will go up in the fall. And we can't tell you what it is because we want it to be a surprise. But I will tell you that Skye's hair is straight. Oh, that's weird. Yeah. I will be looking different on said billboard. That's right. We'll see. That's right. We shall see. Let's take your phone calls. 570-1053. Text us at 35253. P1 Dante is on the line. Not even supposed to be here today. Hi, Dante. Hey, what's up? What's going on?
Hey, so what do you guys think about the Speedo suit that's giving everybody the advantage to break all these records that the old record holders didn't have? Eddie, do you know about the Speedo suit? Oh, yeah. I mean, I think that with time comes more advancements in sports and technology and things like that. And any time you can kind of gain a little bit of an advantage, why wouldn't you do that? And really... How much of an advantage? You have to explain what I don't know. You know the material that the Speedo is made out of? It's just kind of like a... Very sheer. Yeah. Well, now they're doing almost like a wetsuit kind of a thing where the swimmers are wearing this full like... It kind of looks like the thing the wrestlers wear. It's like a singlet. That's not new. Well, I mean. Well, but the technology is new. It's like Speedo made one that's like extra like special and you light and you cut through the water. I thought Speedos were a little like bikini bottoms. Well, it's made by the Speedo company. So now, like it goes like short length. Yeah. Okay. Right here. All the way up to your body and it's like a tank top. Oh, really? Yeah.
It's not new, though. No, no, no. That's not new, Ashley. But what is new is the material that it's made out of. Okay, because the Olympics four years ago, swimmers were wearing that. Ashley, again, that style is in a wrap. It's drawn out for. It's the material. They're constantly updating the style. The material is different. I understand. I'm not an idiot. Yeah, but you keep saying that, no, that's been here. Well, I know, but I guess I was following up with what Eddie was saying. Of course, they're going to keep improving and getting it even better and better, higher quality, but that suit's been around forever. That material's been around forever? Yeah, that's what has always been around. That material's been used forever? Yeah. No. That's incorrect, Ashley. You see, this material's new. Yeah, but it doesn't make that big a difference. Well, but when they were testing these suits, it was. It was knocking time. It was knocking time off people's speeds. I was just trying to say that I agree with Eddie. I don't know why everyone's freaking out. Why is Eddie on his cell phone? Eddie, who are you calling? Eddie, who's Eddie calling? What's he doing?
What is he doing? Who's he talking to, you think? Eddie, we're on the air. Yeah, I think we figured it out, Eddie. Yeah. All done. Sorry about that. I just... Hey, Dante, you there? I need it out. Hey, bro. Seems like there's a little controversy. I think this material's actually been around forever. Well, see, if it has been... Here's my only point. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you. Here's my only point. If it's been around forever, then why didn't the swimmers back in the day wear it? That's all I'm saying. Well, why is it a news story that it's a new material? Well, it is. I mean, it's a whole thing. Skye. Oh. I have a question for the Oracle. Sure. I would love to. My name is P1 Savannah. Hello, Savannah. Yeah, first time, long time. For the record, Ashley adjusting her bangs at this moment. Oh, good.
So, like, I don't get it because I was trying to ask my husband this. I don't know if he was lying to me or whatever because this new suit really looks like it's, like, made a difference. Like, people who are wearing these suits are, like, breaking records and cutting really time. It's not the suit. I mean, I'm sure it will shave maybe a .1 second off your time. Right, right, right. But these athletes, it's just like football players now. Football players are genetically bigger, stronger, faster. And the reason why that is is because diet is different. You know, workout equipment is different. This is full-time jobs for these people. Like, back in the day, you know, a football player had to play football and then go to work. You know, that was a job because they weren't paid a lot. I'm sure the Olympic athletes back in the day, this wasn't a full-time thing. They weren't spending five hours in the water every day. You know, so, I mean, they're just... They're just bigger, stronger, faster athletes now. So you don't think it makes much of a difference and it doesn't put other teams at a disadvantage because I was asking my husband, I'm like, well, why doesn't everyone wear these suits? And he said Speedo, you know, is like the U.S. brand or whatever. That's not completely true either because you'll see, you know, Australians wear it and other athletes wear them.
Because I would think they'd all have to wear the same thing to make it fair. I don't think it matters that much. Maybe it falls into some sort of, they have a regulation, and as long as you meet the regulation, you're good to go. If it was gaining an advantage for the U.S. team, you're telling me that other countries wouldn't be throwing a hissy fit? Of course they would. Everybody relax. I'm upset. I'm really upset about it. When you see an athlete like Michael Phelps, everybody will try and pick it apart. Like, why is he doing this? He's doing it because he's amazing. He's gifted. It's like Tiger Woods. Now the big thing about Tiger Woods is, oh, you know, it's interesting that golf is testing for steroids now and Tiger Woods is injured. You know, what's that all about? Well, yeah, really? Tiger Woods is on steroids. Have you seen how ripped that guy is? He is ripped, but I've seen him work out too. He's got a crazy workout routine. He's just really good. And he's gifted. It happens. He got stuff we don't have. Like steroids. No, not like that. No, he's got this gift. Savannah. Very sassy. That's right. P1T Rex is on the line. Hey, guys. What's up? Quick thing. Mikey, I got...
Sean some gifts last year for Christmas, and I was wanting to know if he could open some of them up on the air. And another thing, Sean for Sean TV. I have a killer episode. I'm not sure if you've seen it yet. It's called Kenny vs. Spinney. Who can blow the biggest fart? Yeah, he has actually done that on Sean TV. Sean TV is a segment where Sean introduces the audience to. new TV shows. Sean just put his index finger on the microphone and pushed it away. He's irritated. But the deal is... Try listening to the show sometimes. Be nice to T-Rex. I'm just curious. I did my homework and I asked B-Rob. He said, no, he wasn't for sure. Rob doesn't listen to the show. He listens less than anybody. I said we didn't do that episode. Sean, you need to open some of your gifts and be happy. T-Rex got these gifts for Sean a long time ago. And in terms of opening them up on the air, I don't know. I have to kind of think about... No! Okay. Well, we have a... Okay, they're nice gifts. No, I understand. Nice gifts. I understand. We have a jam-packed show today. We have a lot of stuff that we're doing on the show today. But who knows? Maybe we'll have a couple of moments.
And we can do that. We could have... It just depends on whether or not we have time, T-Rex. All right, no pressure. Sweet. No. I love you guys. Thank you, T-Rex. Love you. Thank you, T-Rex. I love you, Sean. Go away. Oh, wow. Sean doesn't like people. He's nice. He doesn't like listeners. Yeah, he's pretty clear about it. Did you hear me? So, Mikey Show, hello. Hey, what's going on? I was talking about the swimming thing. Yeah. Just basically because they're talking about the suits and whatever. Uh-huh. No, it's not actually that. It's the filtration system and the anti-wave buoys that they're using. What? Yeah, they were talking about it yesterday during the Olympics, saying that they're using a new filtration system, these anti-wave buoys. They were comparing swimming in the Olympics back in the 70s and stuff to swimming in the ocean. Wow. So these are buoys that are in the swimming pool.
when they're racing in the pool. Yeah. And there's a new filtration system in there, and it's helping them. Okay. That's an interesting thing. I didn't know that, and so that's kind of cool. Well, there you go. I still agree with Eddie, though, that it's, you know, the guy's just a freak. He's got God-given ability that helps him to be able to have strength, power. He works real hard, and he's just really good. Half Dolphin? Yeah. Guy's good. I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. There you go. On the show today. Oh, talk about it. It's jam-packed. Well, first of all, Sean is in the studio. Uh-oh. We're all together. We got a text number available for you so that you can text us at 35253. Our phone number is 570-1053. So you can call us. We're sending the gas monkey out today. And Eddie, do I give the location now? Yeah, we did yesterday. Yeah, yeah. Okay. You have it? Yep. Nine o'clock this morning. In the nine o'clock hour between nine and ten.
The gas monkey will be out in the sports arena area for about an hour looking for people with Mikey Show P1 Army bumper stickers on their car. So if you have that new sticker on your car, he could be pulling you over, bringing a batch of bananas to you. You pull one. Could have a gas card worth either anywhere from $25 to $250, and he'll be in a monkey suit. That's fantastic. And you can see video of it on MikeyShow.com. Also on the show today, we will be playing Lyrical Gangsta. Yeah. And so if you're good at lyrics and songs, you're going to want to play that. We have a couple of interesting topics for you today that I think will be interesting. Movies that you had no business seeing at that age. That's one of the things. We probably all got them. Oh, yeah. You mean like Eddie and I seeing Tropic Thunder last night?
Were you guys not old enough? I wasn't old enough. You were not old enough to see that. Oh, come on. Oh, I loved it. Please. You do need to grow up. Please. Let's see. Oh, oh, oh. Yesterday on the show, we got an email from a girl that said she was concerned about her boyfriend's anger issues. Oh, yeah, yeah. And she thought that he was doing steroids. I got an email from her updating the situation. Oh, really? Yes. Oh, that's great. So we'll update you on what she says. We got the YouTube clip of the day coming up. What is it today, Sean? It's something called the Webmaster Rap. Okay. So the Webmaster Rap is the YouTube clip of the day. And go to our website, MikeyShow.com, and vote on what Olympic sport you want Eddie and B-Rob to be participating in. It's fantastic. polls up on the website at MikeyShow.com. Mitch Hedberg in the stand-up spotlight.

Yeah, I think so too. Like just in the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater, like that whole thing. I know they have the Olympic Training Center, but... Forget it. It's better. Do the swimming. Where would they do that? Dig a pool. Just dig a pool. Hold the track and field in the parking lot. In the parking lot. Make a maze or something. They're good though. Cricket. Well, that was just such a horrible thing to say. I thought it was, I thought, I mean.
Take your hair and get out of here. Oh, my goodness. This Savannah is out of control with her straight hair. Welcome back. It's 645. Paris Hilton is being sued for $75,000 for allegedly not fulfilling her promotional duties for a movie she did back in 06. The U.S. women's gymnastic team falls all over the place and ends up winning the silver. Oh. Not good. Let's see. Mikey, do you guys think that Ash will get married before B-Rob? That's unbelievable. You never considered it, and you know what? It's possible. It is very possible. Absolutely. She's not even engaged yet. She's not even engaged. She's not even engaged, but we were talking about it yesterday. We don't know when Rob's going to get married. He's engaged, but we don't know when he's going to get married. As soon as I get some money. That's never going to happen. I mean...
Never say never. Jake might get married before. Who knows? Let's see. Mikey, Sean sounds amazing in the studio. Does he read news? That's P1 Tommy. That is ridiculous. What a kind of ridiculous. I want to throw that one away. Just rude. This one says, Mikey, where can I get the new P1 sticker? That's P1 Beaker. Well, you can definitely... Beaker. You can definitely get it here at the radio station. It's at 9660 Granite Ridge Drive here in San Diego. They have it at the front desk, but they're also trying to get them into... They're in. They are? Yeah. Go to cricket. Yeah. Go to a cricket location.
They got the sticker at Cricket. I'm seeing those stickers everywhere now. You can go on the website, mikeyshow.com, and we have a list of the Cricket stores that have all the stickers there. Awesome. Yeah, the cool thing is that ever since the gas monkey started, we're giving away gas, and everybody wants free gas, but you've got to have that sticker on your car. People want it. So when you're driving around today or the next time you're driving around and you see a Cricket location and they're open, just run in there real quick, grab a sticker. Put it on your car. And the gas monkey could pull you over. And you could win up to $250 in a gas card. Sweet. Let's see. Mikey, for the next B-Robin Etting Challenge, why don't you have them participate in a mini Olympics? You can pick like three sports and have them go at it.
Signed a week ago. Yes. What? Really? Does that really say that? It does. And the interesting thing is, that's what we're doing. That's really weird. That's exactly what we're doing. If you go to MikeyShow.com right now, you're going to see a list of Olympic events, and you get to pick what they're going to do. That's funny. How many things are there, Eddie? Oh, geez. Six or seven? No, it's like nine. Oh, really? Yeah, quite a few. All right, so there's like nine Olympic events, and we're going to do three of them. So you get to pick, you know, the ones that score the highest three top, you know, voted for. That's the ones we're going to do. And so we are urging you to go and vote. When are we going to do this? We're in talks right now to have a venue. There are several countries that are vying for the Olympics. And so as soon as we have the perfect location, we will set a date and we'll let everybody know. Very nice. Location, location. That'll be great. Did she take her Adderall today? Mommy took her Adderall. She did? Yeah. Right, Ash? Yeah. It makes her extra cracked out. It does? Yeah. When she takes her Adderall, she's real feisty. I like it. It's my favorite. When she doesn't take her Adderall, she's like a... flighty bird yeah flighty bird what does that mean it's a bird that takes flight but uh yeah what what like uh what happened the last break you know like i i'm trying to support her you know i want to support her and then she she goes you know you'll be like uh no ash i see your point you know yeah yeah yeah and she goes no you son of a bee and and you're like whoa no but but hang on Yeah, it's like one of those kind of deals. And, you know, you know, I don't know what to make of it. Dick Cheney's in town. Oh, what's up? Everybody heads up. He's at Camp Pendleton today.
He's a liberal. That's why. Yeah. Vice President Cheney will visit troops at Camp Pendleton. He's expected to arrive at about a quarter to three. He's going to tour the base, you know, shake hands, kiss babies, all that stuff. And then at 530, he heads up to San Clemente to speak at a reception at a private home there for some Republican. Equal opportunity. It doesn't cost anything. A private home? Well, it's a Republican who's up for re-election, and so he's there to flex his Republican muscles and probably get people to vote and donate for this guy. Wow. Yeah, that's what they do. Plus, he wanted to personally oversee the final stages of the Death Star. Yeah, well. And kick a dolphin while he was here. Those plans are complicated. A dolphin and a puppy. Somebody asked me the other day, why does Sean speak so far from the microphone?
The answer to that question is he likes it. Oh, I just saw what the answer is. No, that's not the answer. That right there. He does this in his studio too when he's in San Francisco. He doesn't talk close to the microphone. It's not about sound. It's not about anything other than it's germy. The microphone's germy. That's why he talks far from him. It's because Rob uses that every day. Give it little kisses every morning, Joe. Little baby kisses. There you go. 570-1053. Okay, so who's on texts? Zeth? Oats. Odors? Odin. That's probably why you don't have any. Oh, hey. He's just sitting in the corner. He just made the eyes. Seth just made the eyes right now of like, all right. Oh, wow. Come here, Oates. I'll make you all better. I'll make you better. She's a baby. Goodness sake. Look at him. He's so pissed. Okay. When we come back, I'm going to tell you why Paris Hilton's being sued. Shut up. She's being sued. Wow.
And when we come back, I'll tell you why. Also, we'll keep playing a lyrical gangsta. Eddie, do we have a prize today? Do we have a cool prize for this? To improve mileage, come by Chevron and fill up with air. That's right, air. When was the last time you checked the air pressure in your tires?
Can't remember? Then it's definitely been too long. Did you know even tires in good shape can lose about one pound of pressure a month? And underinflated tires make your engine work harder, lowering your mileage. But don't overinflate them. You can usually find the recommended tire pressure on a sticker located on the driver's side door jamb. And speaking of air, air conditioning is not so hot for your car's mileage either. Whenever you turn it on, it puts an added strain on your engine. Now, at highway speeds, it's probably better to use the AC rather than roll down the windows because of the aerodynamics. But around town, enjoy the fresh air. And that's another great way to get the most out of your Chevron with Tecron. Learn more mileage tips by visiting chevronwithtecron.com. One Hit Wonders, songs from movie soundtracks, and potpourri. Oh, smells good. Which one? I think you said One Hit Wonders. That is right. That is right. Here we go. Sky, what's a contractor? Well, it's like you said, you know, like normally when you think of a contractor, you think of a supervisor, somebody who you hire to do your project, and then they subcontract out, like you said, like, oh, I'll get the drywaller and the painter and the blah, blah, blah. But this guy uses it to describe the fact that I think maybe are you in charge of a lot of people in your industry, the nailing? Yeah. Yeah, so he's like... I'm kind of small-time, but... So, yeah, he's the guy in charge over at the Nailing Factory. That sounds like a pretty good gig if you can get it, man. You're the guy that says, hey, do this, do this, do this. I don't know. Yeah, live. Interesting dynamic going on with him and Eddie. We're having a good time today. He's really, no, we're not. We're having a good time. No, we're not. You don't say we're not. You don't say we're not. Eddie teases him a little bit. A little bit? A little bit? A little bit. Try constantly. Eddie knows that Sean's a germaphobe. You do, constantly. How so?
He did it just now. Do you think so? I don't even know what he's referring to. We need cameras so bad. Before we went to break, I told you Paris Hilton is being sued. Skye, why is she being sued? She's being sued for $75,000 for allegedly not fulfilling her promotional duties to her 2006 movie National Lampoon's Pledge This. That was a movie? Yeah, that was a movie. That's sexy. Yeah, Worldwide Entertainment Group has filed a lawsuit, and they claim that they paid Paris and her company $1 million for her, quote, acting services and reasonable promotion and publicity, and that she didn't do any publicity for the film, and so they believe they are owed a refund, basically, of $75,000 of the million that they paid her because she didn't do, you know, all that she promised to do.
Yeah, well, they're right. Yeah, sounds right. Easy being a whole nail. 75 grand. That's chump change for her, dude. She's got that in her back pocket. She's got that in her bra. Why aren't they asking for all of it? Well, because she did act in the movie and, you know, part of that was her acting, you know, part of the million was her acting. But I think, you know, if what I've been reading is true, it sounds like the exact verbiage in the contract is a reasonable promotion and publicity. So it'll be up to them to prove what is reasonable. You're a real hooker. If she didn't do any promotion, then that will probably be unreasonable. That's unreasonable. I would think so, you guys. That would be none. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. Don't forget, the gas monkey will be out in the 9 o'clock hour in the sports arena area. Who's this? This is Michelle. Boston Rob is back on phone screening duties for one day, and the name is not up there. Not to call anybody out, and don't read into that, Boston Rob. Don't read into that. Don't read into that. I got a lot of things going on. I know you do. I'm very sorry. I'm very sorry. I'm very sorry. I'm sorry. It's okay. It's all right. It's all right. I'm not perfect like that. You are a wonderful person. I love you. Oh, wow. Michelle? Yes. How are you? I'm okay. What can I do for you? I'm calling, actually. I need a little feedback or some advice regarding my daughter. She's in high school, and it's her first year cheerleading, and she loves it. But she's being hazed by the other girls. Hazed? Hazed. They do that? Mm-hmm. Cheerleaders? How old is she? Wow. She's in her first year. How old is she? Well, she said she's a freshman. You know, I don't want to say she's younger than the other girls, just saying. All right. What's high school?
I don't want to say that. I just honestly... You want to get her in trouble with the other girl. Aw. Okay. She wants to protect her baby. That's probably a good idea. Yeah. All right. Yeah. And what are they doing? What kind of hazing? They pushed her in a pool. Oh, my. Which doesn't sound like that, you know, I thought... First, when she told me that, I thought, well, you know, maybe it was just kind of all in fun. She has to wear strange clothes to school. Skye, you were in cheerleading. Did you guys do that? Kind of, but it wasn't like, I don't know. I mean, everybody interprets things differently, but like some of the stuff that we would do, it would always be at cheerleading camp. And like she said, it would always be to the- They have cheerleading camp? Yeah, you go every summer before. It's like, you know how football players practice in the summer to get ready for the season? Well, yeah, that's a sport. Same thing. Well, so is cheerleading, Eddie. No, no. Yeah, it actually is. No, no, no. So, yeah, so you go to camp in the summer to, like, learn all your routines that you'll use throughout the year. And so we would always kind of do some stuff to the freshmen, like, you know. Like initiations or, like, hazing? Well, our stuff was, like, lame. Like, we, you know, would, like, lock the girls in, like, closets in their room. And then we'd be, like, having a little party outside. And we'd, like, be talking to them through the closet door. Like, hey, you having fun in there?
But that's probably as bad as it got for our girls. So yeah, but I've heard of really bad stuff. How is your daughter, who shall remain ageless, nameless, and high school-less, how is she taking this? Well, she came home crying one day last week, actually, because they made her sit alone at lunch. You guys know me. Yeah, we do. It's hard for me to be objective. It's very difficult for me to be objective because I have issues in this regard. When it comes to the kid, I have these issues of safety because of my upbringing. And you guys know I had some stuff happen to me when I was a kid that I talk about on the air. But I have issues of safety.
And so I get real sensitive and this stuff trips me out. So I hear this happens to your daughter and my reaction may not be normal. I can't have an appropriate reaction to it. Mine is extreme. My reaction is take her out of that, take her out of that environment, have her stop hanging out with these kids. I don't know if that's, I don't know if that's right because my meter's off. I get tripped out for the kid. So what do you guys think? That was an overreaction. You know, for me, This is kind of shocking news. I had no idea cheerleaders did this because that seems kind of silly to me. But I know that high school chicks can be real mean and kind of damaging, especially to these girls' self-esteem and stuff like that. But I also think to myself, well, it's almost kind of like, to me, seems like a rite of passage type of a thing. And that once she gets through it, she's going to end up being the girl that... Hayes is the next wave of girls. And so, you know, I mean, as long as they're not, you know, hurting her physically, you know, I mean, I know it's emotionally hurting somebody could be worse, but, you know, just, I guess, just talk to her and keep her, you know, you know, going and say, listen, you know, keep me abreast of what they're doing and make sure that nothing gets out of hand and stuff like that.
Hopefully everything will be all right. Oh, wow. Now for me, because of my issues, that's crazy. But I got issues. I got issues. I know I do. But for me, that's so scary to hear that. I'm like, ah, Sky. Yeah, I agree a lot with what Eddie said. I mean, obviously, there's a line to what's kind of innocent hazing versus, you know, hurtful hazing. But like Eddie says, kind of a rite of passage. It's like sitting alone at lunch, everyone is going to know she's sitting alone, not because she's a loser, but because she's a freshman cheerleader. You know what I mean? And that's why. And she's wearing the funny clothes, not because she doesn't know how to dress, but because all the freshman cheerleaders are going through that. But if it ever does get to the point where she feels it's crossed a line, then my suggestion is there's always a teacher who's in charge of the squad. Go to that teacher and say, you know, hey, this one thing we feel kind of crossed the line, and I'm all about good fun, but this one went a little far. Question.
Let's talk through this. Okay. Let's talk through this. You guys can talk me through this. Okay. If the little girl is crying, then that means that she is obviously in distress. So is this not enough to stop it? You know, I mean, it depends. If she really wants to be a cheerleader, you know, kind of comes with the territory, I guess. And, you know. I guess there's a level of distress. I mean, there's a level of sensitivity. If the girl is very sensitive and can't handle it, then, you know, maybe you should have a talk with the teacher and say, listen, my daughter's not, you know, like the other girls. She's not able to handle this. And so can we tell the other girls to stop hazing her? Right. Which kind of makes her an outsider. Yeah, I would definitely make her an outsider. Yeah, because now the girls are like, oh boy, rolling their eyes going. Yeah. Also, I guess we can't do anything to the little baby. I mean, that could make it worse for her. Oh, yes. Definitely make it worse. Let's take some P1's calls. This is P1 Panama. You there, Panama? Yeah, what up, man? What's up, dude? Yeah, I just wanted to make a comment. For lack of a better word, I'm going to go ahead and call it hazing, but sitting alone at lunch and dressing funny, I believe at every high school, some junior high, there's a funny dress day where all the kids dress funny.
And sitting alone at lunch, it's not really that big of a deal. So if you're a parent and you're monitoring what's happening, like obviously she knows what's going on, why is it even an issue? It's a part of growing up. Every team that you're a part of, it does that. Football, they do it all the way up to the NFL. You're a rookie, you get brought in like that. All right, Panama, I'm just going to throw this out there and you tell me what you think, okay? All right. Is there any kind of foods that you don't like? Several. Give me one. Peas. I love peas. Now, this is a point illustration. I love peas. You don't like peas. We're different people. And so we have established that people are different. They like and dislike different things. And so you're saying, hey, listen, it's a rite of passage. And she's just sitting at lunch and blah, blah, blah. But this girl, the act of doing that brought her to tears. And so maybe she's different. So do we say, hey, listen, my kid, she can't handle it. Another kid could handle it. Her tolerance level would be high enough to where she could handle it. She'd be sitting there at lunch by herself and kind of getting it. And there it is, getting it. But this kid, she don't get it. She's not capable. She's crying when she sits by herself at lunch. Don't we say, my kid's just not, she didn't have the constitution to be able to do this kind of thing. We've got to pull her out. You can. And if that's the situation with the kids, then I believe that maybe that's...
that actual event isn't for her. Maybe cheerleading, if that's what they do, or if they can bypass it and let her in because they're going to look at her different once they have to let her in and she doesn't have to do everything else that everyone else has to do. The thing is you either pull her out of it and say, well, maybe this cheerleading squad or this, you know, whatever isn't for you. We can get you in another one or you cannot do it or you're going to have to deal with the right of passage to get in and be accepted as everyone else is. Now let me play devil's advocate and I'm going to give the argument against my point. Like devil's advocate. Isn't there, no matter what sport it is, isn't there a little bit of pain involved in everything? I mean, your son could come home crying from football because it hurts. It's part of the experience. Can he come home crying to his mom? It's part of the learning process. It's part of growing up. Definitely. No pain, no gain, bro. Yep, bro. P1 Dave. Are you there, Dave? Yeah, good morning, guys. Good morning. Just wanted to say society today is just a little too sensitive. I think it goes back to tradition. And I'm in the fire service, and we got probies that complain and cry about being hazed and being called probie and have to do things that gain other people's initiation. And I also think it goes back to parenting a little bit. You know, how you raise your kid is how they reflect when they get older.
Right, right, right. And so, I mean, aren't we all just a little too sensitive around here? I mean, if our skin is going to be that thin, then give me a break. Maybe you shouldn't be in this line of work. Maybe you shouldn't be playing this sport if your skin is that thin. In fact, if you've got thin skin, just don't participate. Yeah, if you can't take part in the sport, don't try out for the team. Sky? Yeah, so what do you guys in the fire department do to haze the new ones? Oh, my gosh. All sorts of crazy things you'd never think of. See, that's kind of harmless fun. I mean, it kind of sucks for the guy. But, I mean, eventually... Yeah, and eventually that guy becomes the guy that is able to do the fun stuff. I mean, it's initiation. I was watching that Hard Knocks, you know, at training camp with the Dallas Cowboys. And they still make the rookies get up and, like, sing in front of the entire team. And, you know, some guys were great.
And like the team sang along with them and they got really into it and they love that guy. And then there's the stubborn guys who are too cool for school who were like, I ain't doing it. And then they don't have respect for that guy. So it's just kind of, you know, it's kind of an initiation to get a part of the team. Now, Eddie, are these things really necessary to play the sport? I mean, after all, we're talking about playing football. What does this activity necessary? No, but it is it is part of building a team. It makes you part of that team. And and it is, you know. It is what it is. It's maybe not necessary, but if it makes me closer to the team, I'm going to do it. I don't care. Our text number is 35253. P1 Sunshine. She sounds really angry. Yeah, she's mad right now. Sunshine, thank you for saying that. I'm glad you said that. P1 Snake's on the line.
I just want to say if she can't handle sitting alone by herself, dressing funny, then she has no business being a cheerleader. Cheerleaders stand out. Hey, I agree. I agree with you. I agree with you. And I say maybe it's not for every kid. In fact, if a kid is sensitive, I think that maybe it's a good idea that you are sensitive to your kid's sensitivity and you allow them to not get their feelings hurt. Maybe they should put him up on the chess team or something. Now, see, now you're, I get what you're doing. Now, you're making fun of her because she's sensitive. Well, any sport does this. And doesn't it like... Any sport does not do this. Is mom still on the phone? Mom, are you still there? I'm still hearing that. Okay, well, cover your ears, mom. So, basically, doesn't this, in a way, kind of... Build a person into being a good team player and a good sport and, you know, to be a part of a team. Sometimes you got to take a little of the something something for the, you know. So I guess that means that unless we are doing things that are about humiliation, because that's what it is. It's about humiliation. Unless we're doing that, we're not building a team.
I think it's you're saying I'm willing to embarrass myself a little bit to be part of your group. Yes, I'm willing to give some to better the whole. And I'm saying I think that you can accomplish that goal without hazing. You can. You can. I'm not disagreeing with you. But if it's a rite of passage and it's a tradition with this particular team, you already know that going in. And if you're not down with it, that's fine. Just don't be a part of it. Yeah. Listen, if you're aware of it, everything's about choices. If you want to be on that team, you know what's involved. And if you're the type of person that don't go that way, don't join the team. Tough love it is. Tough love. It is. It is tough love, but that's a part of it. Now, where it gets a little tricky is, I didn't know. I got on the team, but I didn't know that this was going to be a part of it. And now it is. And I just want to do... I just want to do this. I just want to be a part of this team. I want to play this sport. I want to be involved in this thing. You ask me, I say, man, this stuff, it's just unnecessary. You can still build a team and you can still have team morale and you can still have fun and you can still do all this stuff without having to embarrass anybody, without having to do any of that stuff. Now, I realize that there are people that are listening right now that are going, yeah, but it's fun and blah, blah, blah. Okay, to you, it's fun.
But that doesn't mean that to everybody it's fun. And why should people that don't think it's fun have to do it? Right. If you don't have to. I mean, because you're still getting all the sports stuff out of it. You're still getting all the. I mean, I get that it's a team tradition. But listen, if I were there, that tradition stop. Because I know I would recognize there's some people that they're not going to go that way. They're not going to have the. They're not going to be fortified in that way. The tradition wouldn't stop. You wouldn't be on the team. If I were in charge, I'd say, sorry, guys. I know you had a lot of fun with this. And I know there's some people that really enjoy it. But we need to stop, not to be a killjoy, but because there are some kids that they just want to play football. Or they just want to be a cheerleader. And they don't want to take part in the thing. And rather than you have to know who's the outsider and who's not, we'll just stop and then you won't have to deal with it. But it's going on, man. I mean, they're doing it. There's nothing you can do. They're doing it, Mom. You know what I'm saying, Michelle? I know. I guess what my fear is that I know she wants to be on this squad because socially it's a great thing for her. But my fear is that she used to be very overweight when she was younger. And she has a lot of self-esteem issues. And I'm afraid that...
These types of incidents will bring those feelings back. And, you know, she was just starting to feel confident and I would just hate for her to backpedal. That's what's a bummer is that a lot of times these things are about confidence building. And then you got something going on that's a confidence that's destructive to confidence. How confident is she going to be when she makes the team and is part of the team and made it through that tough period? to now she's a member of the team and now she gets to be part of the rituals and things like that. Yeah, because once school starts back up, I mean, you know, if it's like most high schools, the cheerleaders are where it's at, you know. And so, yeah, it's tough right now when they're going to cheer camp and, you know, they're doing their, you know, double day practices and all that stuff. But, hey, once school starts, I think you're going to see that confidence shoot through the roof. I don't want my kid to do that to other kids. I don't want to teach my kid that that's fun. You think this is abuse? You can't take this. How can you take the abuse you get on a six? I'm sorry, Alec. Alec Baldwin, I didn't... He's got a point. Mr. Baldwin, with all due respect, I didn't realize that you felt that way, and maybe you got a point there, right? You see, pal, that's who I am, and you're nothing. Oh, wow.
That's a little much. Mr. Baldwin, now you're, I think, kind of taking it to the next level, and that was a little abusive. You know what I'm saying? Because you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight. I drove an $80,000 BMW. That's my name. Okay. Hang on a second. Hang on a second. You're bringing in things. P1 Wendy. That coffee. I was just drinking a cup of coffee. Did you hear him? Put that coffee down. All right, fine. I'm putting the coffee down. I'm not drinking the coffee. See this watch? That watch costs more than your car. Okay, fine. That doesn't make you a great guy just because you have a nice watch. Get the bricks, pal, and beat it because you are going out. Wendy, are you there? I'm there. What's going on? You know something? I'm sorry. I would have to say to the mom, being a cheer mom myself. I would move her out of the high school program. It is the obligation of the older cheerleaders to act as mentors, not to be as tour mentors. My theory is her daughter is younger and made a higher-level team, possibly, and you've got some nasty little cheerleaders. I'd move her to a private cheer gym. She'd have a great time. She'd get great training.
I'm totally not for hazing. Every high school in San Diego has a no hazing rule and all the coaches kind of wink and nod and turn around and they kind of just don't really enforce it from baseball to football to cheer. And I say, get her out of there and put her in a private gym where she'll have a great time and she'll be mentored and taken really good care of. That is not right. See, I'm thinking, I like it. I like it. I'm sitting here thinking, wow, what if the older chicks, the older cheerleaders were teaching her. Yeah, that's, well, what if they were teaching her? Yeah, what if they were teaching her to, they were being mentors and they were saying, hey, this is what you don't do. And then there's this new tradition that's passed down that you treat people with kindness and respect. Yeah, you totally propagate this nasty attitude. Is that what you want your daughter to walk away with? Oh, good. Now, next year, you can be a tormentor too, honey. That's really good. Next thing you know, they're all taking trips to Magic Mountain and flashing people and who knows what's going on. Now, wait a second. I know what I'm doing. I know what he's doing. What I'm doing. What is it? Hold on. Hold on.
Skye's not even here today. We can say whatever we want. Wait a minute. Savannah's here. Skye's not here. Just because my hair's straight doesn't mean I'm not here. Oh, my God. That's Skye? Oh, wow. That was Skye, actually. But anyway. Yes. When Skye was a cheerleader, she flashed at Magic Mountain. They caught it on film. It was dark. It was dark. I didn't know they had the night vision. I didn't know they had the night vision. I didn't think anyone would see. Jesse's just like you. That's why they got a second. Michelle, good luck. Michelle, good luck. Thank you. Thank you. Again, that's 1-800-777-4AIS. You tell the doctor your taste buds are broken. You ate a Rubio's Grilled Gourmet Taco, and now everything else tastes like paste. And not even good paste. The doctor says your taste buds are addicted to grilled sirloin steak, slices of fresh Haas avocado, and a toasted blend of three cheeses. A condition she calls, now you can only eat Rubio's Grilled Gourmet Tacos because everything else tastes like paste. Itis. Introducing Rubio's New Grilled Gourmet Tacos, a revolution in flavor. Try all four exclusively at Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill. Here's another Mikey moment. Well, listen, if...
She has more information that's leading her to that belief than it would make sense to ask. Yeah. Hey, is there something going on with steroids? Well, I mean, there's other side effects in just getting mad at stuff. Yeah, your testicles fall off, I think. Yeah, she should check that out. He'll have acne. Do you really get acne? His breasts will become tender and large. No. This guy's on steroids, obviously. Back to the Mikey Show. Rock. 105.3. It's a Mikey show. It's 7.57. A district attorney office investigator accidentally shot herself in the leg yesterday when trying to arrest a robbery suspect. Tiger Woods says he's not going to swing a club until the new year. Are you kidding me? That's crazy. He had surgery. Yep. I think that they should have a camera crew there to capture his first swing since surgery.
That'd be crazy. I think that'd be interesting to see. Compelling to see. Compelling to look at. So let's wrap this sucker up and put this topic. We'll read a couple of comments that people are writing us. We're getting a lot of text messages. 35253 is our text. Our phone number is 5701053. So we'll just read a couple of these. Mikey, this type of thing is a coming of age experience and it makes you a stronger person. We're talking about... Hazing for high school cheerleaders. Mikey, it shows you how to deal with a stressful situation and how strong you'll be for your team. Mikey, if you can't trust the player next to you, you can't play with that person. This brings you together and builds trust. Mikey, I was tied up and thrown into a pool. Oh my, that sounds really dangerous. Just part of a hazing for cheerleading incident. And now I can't swim. That was traumatizing.
Mikey, I believe society is too sensitive. I mean, come on. Without a little hazing, every human being would leave work early because they have a sunburn. That's P1 Topher. Oh, no. It doesn't even make sense. I'm crumbling it upside. I'm throwing that away. It doesn't make sense, though. Wow. I don't see the correlation. A large piece of over. Still crumbling it. Today's just paper. Got it. Next text message reads. Mikey, taking away hazing is like taking away the soul of a team. Okay. That is a little dramatic. Without it, you're not as close to everyone. That's P1GW. Mikey, the military has hazing. It's called boot camp. They break you down and build you up to be a team player. Shaped like a boot. Smelled like horse. Smelled like horse. Where did this grease come from?
Oh, my God. Let's see. Sky, what was I going to do? Oh, we were talking about movies you were too young to see. Oh, yeah. What did you have no business seeing when you were a kid? For me, everything. Yeah. Right, Mike? We were talking about this back in the office and Eddie was like, well, Mike, basically for you, every movie you saw. I mean, you were watching movies like when we were watching like The Fox and the Hound. Right. You were watching like. Yeah, I was watching serious stuff. The Verdict. Yeah. I mean, crazy stuff. I mean, when I was a kid, no supervision. I just, I wasn't supervised and I was free to watch whatever I wanted. And so I was obviously curious. Children. And weren't your, your brothers are older than you. So they were watching movies. I'm sure you were. They were watching crazy stuff. And so, yeah, man. I mean. That's, I think, part of the reason that I love film so much. Not that I recommend this and I'm not going to do this with Jake just to have him love film. But part of the reason that I love film is I was exposed to a lot of it when I was a kid. I watched everything. When I was a kid, I saw Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I saw, man, every scary movie you could think of. Sometimes it was with parental...
Supervision? Okayedness. Oh, really? Yeah, like I remember I was probably 10 or 11, and the movie Friday the 13th came out, and I asked my parents if I could go with my friend and their parents to go see it at a drive-in, and yeah, sure. You said it! Yeah, sure! So, for me, the answer is everything. Eddie, what did you say? Call us, by the way. 570-1053. What did you see that you had no business in? How old were you? 570-105-335-253 is our phone number. Eddie, what did you see? Well, I can vividly remember something my sister saw that she was too young to see. What? She saw Texas Chainsaw when she was probably like 10 or 11. Oh, wow. And she was at a friend's house and my parents didn't know that she was doing it. And then she came home and woke up and was like, freaking out. Really? Like screaming in her room. Yeah. You know, thinking that bad things were happening. I don't know. I guess she had a dream or something. But, you know, and it came out that she had watched Texas Chainsaw. And I was like, holy cow. That, like, is just weird. And for me, I can remember going to a Halloween party when I was about that age, about 10 or 11, something like that. And they had Exorcist 2 showing.
at this party and I was trying to be cool and like you know I was sitting on the couch and I would try to like start conversations with people so that I wouldn't have to watch the movie but you know I mean I would end up watching it and I would be like oh I can't watch this I'm so scared right now and it was bad man I did not like that. How old were you? I was like 10 or 11. That's the worst when you can't get out of it. You can't get out of it because you're too embarrassed you know you can't walk out but you are like oh. I wish this was over. Yeah, it was not cool. Sky? Okay, so I was probably, I want to say like eight or nine. Yeah. And, you know, my mom was the one who was really, really involved in my life, my brother's life. And my dad, you know, worked a lot. But, you know, we'd see him and hang out. We were cool with him. But, you know, it was really all about mom. You went to mom for everything. And so all my family is from the East Coast. So we all go back to New York. We're staying in my grandparents' old, creepy-ass house, you know, with some creepy basement. And it has, like, all these rooms. It was this big, old, old house.
because of the time change me and my brother we were like all you know totally awake when everybody was getting ready to go to sleep and my dad was a night owl so my dad was like oh i'll take care of the kids make sure they get to bed no problem blah blah right well he's watching tv and we're kicking it with him all of a sudden that movie have you checked the children oh The, like, original? Like, they remade it a couple years ago? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it has a different name. I know what movie you're talking about. Oh, the Stranger Calls? I think that's it. Yeah. But that's what the deal is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or the dude calls, have you checked the children? That wasn't Black Christmas? Are you sure that wasn't the original Black Christmas? I don't know what it was. I don't know what the title is. I think they're calling the whole time. Have you checked children? Have you checked children? And at the end of the movie, like, they're in the attic? Yeah. Yeah. The police go. We've traced the call, and they're in the house. Black Christmas. And so I watched that, and then my dad's like, okay, kids, think it's time to go to bed in this dark, creepy, huge house that you're not familiar with.
I was so terrified all night long. I didn't sleep awake, but I was so terrified that I couldn't leave the room to go to my parents. That's a scary movie, by the way. Because I was that scared. That's a scary movie. Sean is scaring us all now with the music from the movie Halloween. Skye, you were how old? I believe I was like eight or nine. I was little. And even when that remake came out a few years ago, I was like, hell no. Seth says it was Stranger Calls. Yeah, it is. Scary movie. That's terrifying. That's what happened with me and The Exorcist. I went to Tucson to stay with my brother. He's a railroad engineer, so he leaves every couple days to go on the railroad. So it's just me and my sister-in-law. I was probably 11, 12 years old. and wanted to see a scary movie, wanted to see The Exorcist, because I was a kid, and I was like, oh, come on. Now, she was like, okay, if you want to see it. Oh, wow. There you go. You know, and I didn't know. I hadn't seen it. Yep. And so we went and rented it, and I was terrified. Oh, yeah. Yep. You're never an appropriate agency. No, no, no, never.
I'm terrified. It ends. Same thing. She's like, all right, good night. Dude, I told you my story with The Exorcist, right? I was like 13, and I think I was a little badass kid, and I'm like, I want to see this movie. And my dad was away on business, and so it was just me and my mom. And I said, Mom, I want to watch this. She's like, all right, we'll watch it, but I'm going to watch it with you. And she had never seen it either, so she didn't know what to do. She never saw it, so she didn't know. She didn't know what was going on. It's a horror movie. She's trying to be a good parent. I'm going to watch it with you. We sit down and we turn it on and we watch it. The moment they walk into the room for the first time and they see that she's possessed, power goes out of my house. I look at my mom and I can see that she's scared. Don't play this. That's not cool. And so we had no power in our house, and that was my last image that I saw. And my mom is scared, too. I'm scared now. I'm hearing this story. I'm scared now. It was terrifying. I can't imagine being a scared kid and then looking over at your parent and seeing fear in their face. Forget it. Forget it. It was bad. You know our friend Erica, my wife's friend Erica? Yeah. The Berg. The Berg. Yeah. Snacker. The Berg's. The Snackers.
We were at their place one time, and the girls had gone out, so it was just the guys. It was me, her husband Todd, and her son Connor, but Connor was only like three or four at the time. Same exact thing happened. Power went out. We were watching Lord of the Rings, and it was the part where the orcs and those dudes with the big, I forget what they're called, but they had the crazy faces, and they were like... You know what I'm talking about? Eureka? Eureka. Eureka. Eureka. Eureka. Well said. Eureka. And so Todd had to go outside and check the breaker. And I had Connor. And he's crying. He's sitting on my lap. And I just remember trying to comfort that kid. Like, it's all right. It's all right. It's cool. Don't be scared. But I'm telling you, when you're a kid, that stuff is the scariest stuff ever.
I don't know how you went to sleep that night. I don't think I did. Aye, aye, aye. Let's see. P1AO is on the line. Yo, what up? What's up, AO? What's up? Man, I got a story for you real quick. Go ahead. All right, grab a shovel, dig this. So anyways, I'm like 12 or 13 or something like that, you know? Right. And I think Child's Play had been out for a minute, so I was like, hey, I'm going to check this out. And I was sitting by myself. And I don't know, but there's something about a dwarf that bites you in the leg. And when I saw him go jump on that little kid's back, I was like... I love it. How did you go, Ayo? What did you do? Man, I was like... Ayo, it was not a dwarf. It's a doll. It's a doll. It wasn't a dwarf? No. I thought it was John Gruden. Thank you, Ayo. Quimby's on the line, ladies and gentlemen. I was seven or eight years old, and my parents let me and my younger brother, who's like two years younger than me, they let us watch Poltergeist. Oh, no. Do you remember the part where the clown? Of course I do. Of course I remember. Okay, I had a clown in my room.
I went in my room, and I threw the clown away, and my brother and I slept in our parents' bed for a week. Can anybody here hum the music to Poltergeist? I know it right now. It's pomp and circumstance. That's the graduation day. Oh, we should have asked that. No, Eddie, that's You Really Got Me by Van Halen. Wrong one. No, that's not it. That's not right. That's not it? Not it. Jerry Goldsmith did the score. Nerd alert. Nerd alert. I saw Poltergeist when I was 12, went to the movie theater on my own, rode my bike, locked my bike up on a little thing. It was PG-13 and I got in. That's not right. I knew that all I needed to do is when they asked me what year I was born, just add a year. And I did. You're brilliant. It's PG-13. In fact, piece of trivia.
Poltergeist was the first PG-13 rated movie ever. Really? What? It was the first time they instituted the rating PG-13. You'd think they'd have been a little more strict. That's right. Wow. Letting people in. You would think so. I mean, I was a kid. Sure. And I sat in that movie theater by myself. You're crazy. I know it. That's not normal. No wonder you're like this. I know it. It gives you some context. It does. It kind of explains a lot. So how does the music go? Yeah, how does it go? Dun. Dun, dun, dun. Dun, dun, dun. Dun, dun, dun, dun. Everybody picture the scene of Craig T. Nelson falling in the swimming pool. Absolutely horrifying. Everybody picture the scene of the guy who just wanted a late night snack. Piece of chicken. Oh, look, a steak. I'll cook up a steak. You know, I got a piece of fried chicken and a piece of steak and I got the fried chicken leg in my mouth. And I'll throw this piece of steak down on the table. Very scary film. Just go wash your face, Mike. You'll be fine. Some more trivia about that one. Toby Hooper. Toby Hooper. That's right. Mr. Hooper. The guy that directed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre directed Poltergeist. The executive producer was Steven Spielberg.
As legend has it, Tobey Hooper didn't have much to do with the directing. This was a time in Spielberg's life where he was kind of a blowhard. He was young, he was a maverick, and he felt like he knew everything. And so even though he hired Tobey Hooper to direct the film, he's the one who really did everything. Tobey Hooper didn't have a lot to say. He won big shots on the line. Big shot, you there? Yep. What's up? What's going on, guys? Not too much. Right on, man. From the age of about 13, we used to go down and rent the Faces of Death videos. Oh, my God. That's bad. Oh, that is terrible. Well, I'm speechless now. Well, yeah, and those things were real, the Faces of Death. Yeah, they had a whole series of them. I think there was like six or seven different videos. And, you know, I didn't really grasp.
the reality of the show, I mean, of the movie. I didn't realize until later on, until I was about 18 or 19, that that was actually really happening. People dying, and it really desensitized me to everything, to death, just watching those really explicit images. Terrible. And, I mean, I'd walk in there and I'd rent them myself, you know. Are you serious? Oh, man. They would let you rent that? Yeah, I grew up in National City, you know. Well, National City, of course. I mean, Seth can speak to that. Seth was raised there, too. Hey, dude. Super fast video. And, you know, as long as I had the card, they'd let me rent anything. No way, Jose. Rob. Has anybody mentioned Pet Sematary? Because I watched that when I was a kid. Only one scary scene in that movie. Only one scary scene. Eddie? Zelda. Zelda. That's it. Other than Zelda, Pet Sematary? Oh, no. That didn't fit too well? Yeah, Zelda did. Zelda was awful. Zelda on the bed, in the room, scary. Zelda was scarier in the movie than in the book. Yeah, true. Like seeing Zelda in the movie was scary. I thought it was based on a comic. Yeah. Wasn't that Stan Lee? Oh, yeah.
We're getting some calls, 570-1053. We're getting text messages too. Mikey, when I was five, I saw Platoon. Freaked me out. Well, yeah, five, Platoon. I know I watched Porky's when I was really young. You did? Yeah, and I thought it was so cool watching Porky's, and I was like, oh, man. Yeah, I saw... I don't think I should be watching. I saw Last American Virgin when I was a kid. Oh, yeah. I saw Jaws when I was, like, four. Yeah, that is mad. That's not good. And I'm still to this day, like, petrified to go in the ocean, petrified of sharks, petrified of deep, like... Well, I'm living to you, fair Spanish lady. You traumatized me. Yeah. Those are filled with compressed air. What? 570-1053. If you are calling in, just hang on the line. 570-1053. Our text number is 35253. Gas Monkey going out in 45 minutes to the sports arena area.

570-1053. They've already got some people on hold and texts at 35253. Just let me read a couple of these and take a phone call and we'll wrap this sucker up. Mikey Jacobs Ladder at nine years old will screw you up. Oh, dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Directed by Adrian Lin. Thank you very much. Mikey, my dad sat us down to watch Deliverance at the age of 11. Oh, man. Probably not a good idea. You notice it's always dad. It is. It is. Mikey, my dad took my sister and I at age 10 and 8 to see Cape Fear. Oh, my gosh. Weird. Come out, come out wherever you are. Counselor. Got to the theater late, so we had to sit in the front row. What the heck? I can't believe that. Yuck. That is rough. Let's see. Let's do one last phone call. P1 Herald.
Hey, Mikey. How you doing? Good, man. Dude, my parents, not only did they let me see the scary movies, but they would tell me they were true stories. Why would they do that? I don't know, man. They're crazy. I don't know. The Exorcist was one of them, and then Amityville Horror. Remember that one? Yes. Well, wait. Amityville Horror was supposed to be based on a true story. Both of those wows. Okay, well. Yeah, The Exorcist, I never heard wows. That kind of was like the Amityville Horror. Oh, good. Good. Very good. I would, like, go out in the back. And you remember the scene where she looked out the window and the red eyes came? Yes. Oh, there it is. There it is. We had a window in the back that you couldn't see anything out of. Right. And I would be freaked out, dude, like something was going to come up in that window. And my parents would totally egg it on. Now, Harold, question. As an adult, have you ever asked them why they told you that it was true?
You know, actually, I haven't. You should. I am fascinated to know why they did that. Get new parents. I'm fascinated to know. Fascinated to know. You know, I already know why, because they're, you know, they're just, they're crazy. They're crazy. That is a legitimate answer. It's a legitimate answer. That's why I'm deranged. Thank you very much. Thank you, Harold. Hey, guys, when I was eight years old, my parents were having a party. My brother locked me in a room, and he made me watch Nightmare on Elm Street 1 through 3. Oh, my God. I spent a lot of time hiding my face under the covers and crying, but what else? But what I did see scared me. Had nightmares until I was 14 years of age, and to this day cannot watch Nightmare No. 1. That's me, one Carrie Bradshaw. Wow. Yeah, No. 1 was the worst. Of the Nightmare series. I've never seen one of those. Really? Yeah. And they came out during a period of time where I wasn't going to the movies and I wasn't renting stuff. And I never saw any of those nightmares. Yeah, Nightmare 1 is freaky. Yeah, because I started with, I don't know, like number 15 or whatever. But I started with the later ones. And those were so cheesy. So I loved the series. I'm like, oh, this is so cheesy and stupid and dumb. I'm like, ooh, I should check out number one. Yeah, Nightmare Central. Number one. Number one.
I mean, necessary? It's just fun. Not for me. Hey, did you guys hear about... These Chinese are something else. Oh. These Chinese are something else. They... They're the host country for the Olympics. And they're so insecure. They're very insecure. Well, they want to put their best face forward, Mike. You know, the whole world's watching. I understand. However, I feel that they're overcompensating. Oh, no. They're going a bit too far, Skye. Did you hear about the girl swap? Yes. Skye, tell this story. This is brutal because I don't know if anybody is like me, but I watch the opening ceremonies and you see this beautiful little Chinese girl come out and sing China's national anthem beautifully. How old? I don't know.
Yeah, looking at the girl, you'd say, oh, she's like anywhere between like maybe 8 and 10 years old. Okay. Just this gorgeous little... Or 16 if you're a gymnast. Yeah. Or what the Chinese call 16. Yeah. So beautiful girl sings the national anthem. Well, it turns out that actually the girl you saw singing the national anthem in the opening ceremonies on Friday was lip syncing. What had happened... is a young seven-year-old girl from China was chosen to sing the national anthem because she has a gorgeous voice and, you know, can do this and is known for this, and this is what she does. But they decided, you know, the people in charge there in China of the Chinese performances decided she wasn't pretty enough. way for the world to look at, and she wasn't pretty enough to represent China. Specifically, her teeth were kind of a little jacked up, and they didn't like that and didn't want the world to see that. So they got this other... Not nice. So they got this other... They just waved, by the way. They got this other little cute girl to lip sync while the real singer, like, sang backstage or whatever, but was not allowed on camera. Observation.
What do you suppose it's like to be the little girl who got yanked? That's mess. Oh, it's so terrible. If we did that in America, could you imagine the backlash? The outpouring of just... Yeah, China's musical director said, quote, the main consideration was the national interest. The child on the screen should be flawless in image, end quote. Holy crap. It's jaw. Our jaws are dropped open in here. Yeah. They called the seven-year-old the butter face. Oh, they did. I know. The whole country did. And she's a talented little seven-year-old. We hate you. That poor little girl. I mean, imagine what she's got to endure now. Oh, you were the ugly little one that didn't make it. You're that girl. You're that girl. But at least your voice is pretty.
Beauty is skin deep. And you know what? I mean, to a much, much lesser extent, but to some extent, the little girl who they did show is the little girl who has no talent. That's true. It's like, oh yeah, aren't you the one they showed, but you can't sing. You're not good enough. You're not good enough. You know, listen, all I know is that I've been watching a little bit of these Olympics. And I don't know if it's a psychological thing. I don't know if it's just that you get caught up. But I have so much. I'm just really proud. I am. Like, I'm really. Of course. I mean, you know, for me, it's the competitive thing of I want my country to be number one. Like, I want us to dominate and I want us to win every event we're in.
And when we lose, like last night when the women's gymnastics team went silver, like meddling in the Olympics for any other country is like the greatest thing ever. Like they're national heroes if you win a bronze medal or whatever. But for me, I'm like, oh, well, they failed. They didn't win gold. You know, I feel, though. I want our country to be the best. Man. In everything. It's kind of how I am. Really? Yeah. For sure. It's really like an emotional investment. The reason I'm saying it like this is because I was paying attention to how I felt the other day. And I was really like taking this inventory of where my feelings were. And I'm like, Mike, you're real into this right now. You really care. You're really like, you really want the US to do this. And I mean, and if they don't, I'm like, I'm disappointed.
And then I'm like, like Eddie was saying it this morning, Eddie was really irritated at the U.S. Olympic female gymnast. And when he told me about it, I got irritated at them, too. When he told me what was going on, I'm like, what is the matter with them? Well, if you want gold, Mike, I have plenty to go around. If it's just a question of gold. Please. I give everybody in America peace. I can afford it. You'll all medal this year. Whatever. But I'm cool that, you know, it's like a positive thing that everybody's getting like patriotic about and behind, you know, like in the recent years with 9-11 and it's always like around a tragedy or going to war or something like that that gets people patriotic. But this is a real cool positive way to be patriotic. Well, the ratings this year for the Olympics are sky high. Yeah, through the roof. It's shocking. I'm kind of surprised by that. Well, this went well. You know, I give NBC credit for figuring it out this year. They used to tape delay everything and pretend it was live, and they only show you a select amount of things. Now, I mean, they're showing everything and live stuff, and it's great. Awesome. 5701053.
Or text us at 35253. Seth just sent me an IM that said, wait till you see what I'm printing. What does that mean? Let me turn his mic on. Is it a doozy, Seth? Is that in your text? Is it a doozy? Yep. He's the wordsmith, if you will. What is it? Is it a text or an email? Yes. Email. Okay. What's going on? Oh, no. What is it? Sky, tell me if I should read this. Oh, wow. Sorry. That means yes. I don't know if I should read that. What's the matter? Oh, my gosh. Hand it to Eddie. Before I read it. I mean. Can you edit it? It's definitely. It doesn't cuss. Yeah.
It's definitely a different viewpoint that hasn't yet been represented on the show. Oh, come on. Really? Well, I mean, we do like to represent all sides here, Andy. Don't read this. I'm not reading it. We get weird stuff. You've got to read it now. I mean, please. It's just an idiot. Just because we read it doesn't mean we agree with it. Come on. That's an idiot. That is an idiot. What is it? Take that. 570-1053. For the whole class, Mike. Our text number is 35253. Dude. It's just stupid. It takes something cool and put their political spin on it, and it's like, give me a break with you. It's an email from a listener? Yeah. I'll read it. Wow, what's up? Mikey, I hear you guys talking about the Olympics and how much pride you have. Well, I feel the opposite. Hear me out before you jump down my throat. I'm ashamed of this country. By the way, this person can call if you want to. 570-1053 if they want to call in. Please call.
I will be rooting against the U.S. this year. I think they need a reality check, some humbling. Hopefully with the new administration, we'll bring change and we can go back to being a part of the world and not a separate entity. There it is. I hope you understand my point. Thank you. P1, go Canada. Yeah, you should go to Canada. They should go to Canada. Thank you. They should go to Canada. The reason that I say that they should go to Canada, because they're entitled to this opinion. They are entitled to this opinion. However, clearly.
This is where we are. This is where we are. And clearly, this person is with this country. That's fine. You have the right to be. You have the right to voice your opinion and not be happy with the administration and all that stuff. But the reason why you have that right is because you live in this country. Yeah. Well, and what's a trip is like, I mean. I think there's valid points in that email as far as like, yeah, we don't have the best image to the rest of the world right now. And yes, I am optimistic for the new administration, but I would never be ashamed of my country. I would never not root and never not back my country. Like that's too far. That's not what the Olympics are about. The Olympics are actually about a world uniting and celebrating sport. You know, it's not about. You know, being ashamed of your country. That's brutal. That's awful. No. I'm reading the definition of the word support. Okay. Because while we were talking about this, I'm like, they don't support the U.S. Right. I want to see what the definition is. Support. Give comfort and emotional help to approve of and encourage. They do not approve of the United States. They do not.
Encourage the United States. Suggest the truth of or corroborate. Be actively interested in and concerned for the success of. And then in parentheses it says a particular sports team. As an example. Wow. As an example. That's pretty crazy. Yeah. And if you're looking, this is on the second definition in, it's my online dictionary that's on my Mac. So I don't know what dictionary it comes from, but that's the second definition. Terrible. I don't feel that way. You don't? I do not. Oh, okay. 5701053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. I understand being upset. I'm upset about gas prices and the housing crisis. How could you not root for the country that you live in and love?
I have to assume that you love your country. I have to assume you love your country. Even though your country right now is in a crisis. I would think that that's when you would want to support your country. You may not support the politics or certain aspect of the politics. But surely you support your country. How dare you? Come on. P1 Penguin is on the line. Let's see. P1 Penguin. I'm so upset, you guys. Go ahead. My grandfather was in the military. I was in the military. We both, you know, fought in wars. And it's like, you're welcome, guy, for allowing you to be able to say this. Because if you try to go to some other country and try to say that crap, not happening. You can't say that somewhere else. No. In fact, you can't say that in China. No. The country we're talking about.
communist government you can't say you you don't have the same types of freedoms he's talking about gas well what about in africa where they got genocides going on see that's the thing you think about our country in comparison to other countries we have it really really good doesn't mean that i'm saying that you can't you can feel whatever way you want to it's the lack of support for our olympic teams right Yeah, that's what it's about, really. It's our Olympic teams. I know. Like, they have nothing to do with the administration or what's going on in Iraq. You know, these kids, this is their dream. They work so hard to represent our country. They are good! And I think they're doing it with respect. Yeah. And that's showing a lack of respect. And Eddie's right. These are kids. Yeah. For the most part. He's like booing these kids. They're rooting against them. Hey, Rob. If he has kids and the kids grow up and say, I want to be in the Olympics, what's he going to say? Okay, as long as you don't do it for America? Nah, right? Did the person that wrote that call in or no? Say on the mic. Sorry, I forgot my mic was off. I'm an idiot. No, no, I haven't heard anything yet and I've been scanning. I wish they would. That person's a coward, obviously. Hey, P1 Go Canada, we'd love to talk to you.
Yeah, we'll be nice, we swear. Well, it's a safe place. It is a safe place, Mike. It's a safe place. Dead meat. 570-1053 is our phone number. Our text number is 35253. You get a killer car deal? The major backup continues here in the East County from an unfortunate fatality accident this morning on the westbound 8 before Lake Jennings Park Road. The fast lane is still blocked here, and traffic's backed up for about a good mile, just bumper to bumper, trying to get around this accident. It's being investigated. Good idea is to take Dunbar Lane off, make that right, and then take a left on old Highway 80 that will run parallel to the freeway, get you past this mess, probably save you about a good 20 minutes at least. Rock 105.3. 855. Vice President Dick Cheney will be in town today visiting troops at Camp Pendleton. Well, hey, screw you. I love America, and I love Michael Phelps, and he's kicking ass. He won gold medals number four and five yesterday. The guy's got 11 career gold medals. He talks about breaking the record. I'm almost at lost in words. You know, it's, like I said yesterday, the people who came before us and then, you know, who... competed in the Olympic Games with some of the greatest athletes to ever live. And, you know, to be, to win the most gold medals is unbelievable. I just have no idea what to say. I'm psyched totally. Like, I don't even know, dude. It's like, you and I are psychical. I'm psyched. Dude, that's like a trip, man. Winners. I was happy to be in the lottery. That's the red sport. I was talking to my girlfriend the other night, and I was just like, yo.
I don't know if you saw what happened, but I was like, every time I got in the water, I was like, what? Here's the crazy thing about this Michael Phelps. During the, I believe it was the butterfly race. That's the hardest stroke. I did the butterfly kisses race. Mike. You ever seen it? I don't want to see it. Let's try it. No, thank you. Maybe later. His goggles started to fill with water. No, they did not. Dude, he couldn't see the wall. So he swam half the race with blind. It still broke the world record. Is that why they were talking about his Michael Phelps turn wasn't as slick that third turn? Imagine if he hadn't had that happen. Well, because he was... I was wondering because I watched that race last night and he won, but right when he touched the wall, he looked up and he got the gold. No expression on his face. He got the world record. Did you see when he threw off his goggles because he was so mad? For real? Yeah, the guy wins a gold medal. He's pissed because his goggles didn't work right. So I guess what the deal was was... I'm trying to...
I guess the deal was he was trying to break the world record. He did. He was going for a time, though, that he didn't get. I believe he got a 252.03 and he was going for 251. 251. That's all he wanted was 251. And so he like, like that's all they were talking about was he wanted to get this 251. And I guess he got his water filled up goggles filled with water. I got to tell you, this is a this is just a true statement on my part. I would rather interview. Michael Phelps' parents than Michael Phelps. How come? I want to ask them everything they did. Really? Everything they did. That, what he has in his guts is good. The guy won a gold medal, and his response to it was, I could have done better. Oh, yeah. Damn it! And that is, I think, man, if you got that, you're doing all right. And I've seen him enjoy it. So it isn't like he doesn't enjoy it. He does. I've seen him enjoy it. Absolutely. But to say to yourself, I can do better. Oh, for goodness. I want to get that mom and dad on the phone and say, okay, let's start at six months old. What'd you do? And then what'd you do? And then what'd you do? They should write a book. Yes, yes. Oh, Sky, I'd buy it the day it came out.
I think that that is just enormous. I think Tiger Woods' dad has a book. Dude, I've actually thought about his dad. Because I heard, you know, I think I heard it from you. And when I first heard it, I thought, boy, that's questionable. I don't know how I feel about that. It's a whole deal where when he was a little kid and he was putting, right before he was about to putt, his dad would like slam down a whole golf bag full of golf clubs and scare the pants off of him. And he did it to make sure that Tiger was concentrating. And now when Tiger Woods is putting in a pressure situation, he's nails. It's insane. He's nails. I think, you know, God makes us all different. And for Tiger Woods, that particular soul, that works.
But if you tried that with your kid, you may damage that kid for the rest of his life. And he'll probably end up hating golf because of it. We see a lot of these parents that ride their kids into sports and things like that. And they end up resenting it and hating that sport. And so it just depends on the human being you are. I mean, for Tiger, it worked. But for most kids, it probably wouldn't work. Dude, I think you're 100% right. 100%. Who's your kid? What's your kid like? If your kid is showing signs that he loves that sport, encourage him. And you can teach him and all that stuff, but throwing golf clubs at him and things like that, I'm not into that. So, just real quick, here's what the email said. Oh, no. Just real quick. Here's what the email said. Mikey, I hear you guys talking about the Olympics and how much pride you have. Well, I feel the opposite. Hear me out before you jump down my throat. I'm ashamed of this country. We've been bullies for a long time. With the war in Iraq and how the rest of the world hates us, I'm embarrassed to cheer on the U.S. Not to mention how screwed up this country is with gas prices and the housing crisis. Look at what we represent. Total and complete arrogance. I will be rooting against the U.S. this year. I think they need a reality check. Some humbling.
Hopefully, with a new administration, we'll bring change and we can go back to being a part of the world and not a separate entity. There you go, Barack. Oh, see, it's hopeful. Shut up. I hope you understand my point. Thank you, P1Go Canada. Oh, that's the worst. P1Eagle has been patiently waiting, and we will hear P1Eagle out. Are you there? Yes, I am. Go ahead. I was just going to say, just because you're born in a certain country doesn't mean you have to root for that country. It doesn't mean you have to love that country. I believe that I'm a citizen of this world. You know, God put me into this world. I don't think it's anything wrong with rooting for other countries or rooting against your own country if that's what you want to do. I mean, I feel I was born into this world, and I love other cultures, and I love everything about this world. I don't specifically have to say that I belong to the U.S. and that's it. I have to cheer for them. I have to love them. I mean, I don't really agree with that point, you know? P1 Eagle. P1 Eagle. Yes. This is the definition of patriotic. You know me, I love words, so I always look things up on the air. Constantly looking up words. Definition of patriotic. First of all, it's an adjective, kids. Okay. Write that down. Having or expressing devotion to and vigorous support for.
One's country. So my question, P1 Eagle, is how do you define patriotic? I don't believe you have to be patriotic. Why do you have to be patriotic? I don't understand that. Why is it so cool to be patriotic? Can you answer me that? Why is it better to be patriotic than not? Let me explain, my friend. If you live in a country where you have freedom, A lot of countries don't have those kind of freedoms. And you're given a lot of things by this country. And there's people that fight for your right to have these freedoms. And because of that, I will always love this country and love our military and for what they are able to do for us. And all you've got to do is travel around the world, man, and see how other people live. And you will understand what you have in this country. And that is why you should love this country. Yes. I like it. Thank you. Well said. Yeah, and I don't think anyone here is saying that you cannot root for another country and that you can't wish well for another country. It's just rooting against your own country. Like, if you have so much disdain in you that you're going to root against America, then really, like, why are you here? I like being American. I mean, I was born here. I mean, I'm glad I was born here. Hey, listen.
That's the deal. You asked, you know, why is it important to be patriotic? I think another reason that it's important to be patriotic is because it's yours. This is the one that represents you. And being patriotic will create a sense of unity. And unity is good. Unity is not bad. Why can't we unite as a world? I mean, why does it have to be just this country? I think Sky said it perfectly. I think Sky said it perfectly when she said we can. There is absolutely nothing wrong with rooting for another country. There is something fundamentally wrong about rooting against your own. And the reason that I think that it's wrong is because it's unpatriotic. I don't find myself wrong. I don't find myself watching the Olympics rooting against other countries. I find myself rooting for my country. Yeah. I get your point. And I do believe that it is a bad thing to not be patriotic. If the definition of patriotic is having or expressing devotion to and vigorous support for one's country, I do think that's important. I think it's important for us to do that because it's ours.
It belongs to us. When they mention military stuff, I mean, we didn't fight these wars alone. I mean, World War II and all that, we weren't alone. It wasn't just Americans. You are correct. And I have not heard the argument that it was just us. I haven't heard that. So I agree with you. It was. We were united. We fought for a lot of people's freedoms, you know. Absolutely. And if you would like to root for England, there's nothing wrong with that. The only problem I would have is you rooting against the United States. I think that that's wrong. That's okay for me to root for various countries, but I can't root against the U.S. Absolutely. I'm not a good American, right? Yes. I'm not a good American. So you root against the United States. Not for everything, I mean. Like, what would you? Okay, not for everything, just some things? Yeah. Like what? Our place in the world. I mean, sports really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. It really doesn't matter at all. But what do you root against the United States? In what way do you root against the United States? If it isn't sports, what is it?
I guess I chose the wrong words. I don't really root against them, but I just don't, I don't see myself rooting. I'm not rooting for them. You know what I mean? I'm not, I'm not going home about it. I really don't care if they win or lose or, you know what I mean? Now, are you talking just sports or do you mean in general? I kind of mean in general. I mean, there's a lot of things I've been through, a lot of things I've seen. I mean, a lot of things this country has done also that, you know, I really don't agree with and I'm not proud of either. I mean. I don't blame you there. I don't blame you there. In fact, I'm a conservative Republican. And I have problems with what's happened over the last eight years. I have issues with President Bush. You're the first Republican I've heard say that. What's that? You're the first Republican I've heard say that. That's not true. Normally you guys are behind Bush and everything Republicans do. Dude, listen. I'm very conservative. I'm very, very, very conservative. And so...
I do believe fundamentally in what conservative Republicans believe. Can I ask you one question? Do you think God cares if you root for your country or not or against it? Well, yes, I do. Do you think God cares? I do. God didn't make countries. He made the world. I understand. But he certainly did make countries. In fact, he put governments in power. Now, before we get started, I'm just, hang on. I'm giving you. My opinions. In fact, what I just said to you is something that I just read in the Bible. But you asked, so I'm answering. Okay. And so what I just read in the Bible said that God put all governments in power. And so when you asked it, I had to think about it for a second. And I went, oh, yeah, I think I just read this. And so my answer to that is yes.
I believe that it's important for, I think patriotism is important, man. Eddie nailed it. Dude, I want to get a transcript of what Eddie said. It was perfect. Perfect. So God put Hitler in power and the Chinese in power. Yes. That's fine. God put the people that are in power in power. And so maybe there are some things that don't make sense. Like even when I ask myself, now why? Would God put somebody like Hitler in power? But why do babies get cancer? Why do things happen? And things happen. That's a whole other conversation. And that's a whole other topic. And it has a lot to do with free will. You are absolutely correct. If you want to just put it in a little Tylenol capsule and take it, then that's what it would be. Free will. But that's it. What an interesting phone call. I think you were an interesting phone call today, bro. I like America. Don't get it wrong. I like it here. I like to think about things. It sounds like if I were to take a snapshot of what your feelings are, it sounds like you're just kind of upset at some of the things that go on. Sky's upset about some of the things that go on, but Sky's patriotic. I got to give her that. She roots for this country.
I want it to be better. I want it to be a positive place where, you know, other countries embrace us and we embrace them. Yeah. I don't know how Savannah feels about it, but I know that Skye is definitely... She's too busy partying, Mike. That's right. Savannah or Skye? Savannah. Savannah is a party animal. Oh, wow. I mean, it's out of control. She fights for the right to party. Just because I have straight hair doesn't make me a different person. Well, you are. You're Savannah. Okay. 5701053. I have had fun today. I love this stuff. I love talking about this stuff. Text us at 35253 or call us at 570-1053. This hour, the gas monkey is out. The ride in the westbound 8 is just a mess still here in the East County. This all started, unfortunately, from a fatality accident that's still being investigated westbound 8 before Lake Jennings Park Road. Traffic still backed up about a good mile behind that. If you can get on Dunbar Lane, take that exit up to Old Highway 80, then head west on Old Highway 80, which runs pretty much parallel to the 8th freeway. You'll save about a good 20 minutes here. It's better to get stuck in that traffic. Get back on at Lake Jennings Park Road.
And on to the main line again on westbound 8. Restore freeways are still pretty quiet actually right now as this community has pretty much done. South 163 seeing a few brake lights into the park from Washington Street. I'm Rick Lawrence on Rock 105.3. Let's see. What do I got? P1 Rock. I switched the air. I gave them a call. I took your advice. I was with a mom and pop company, right? Yeah. And I was paying 200 bucks a month, but for no reason they upped it to 300. And that's when I called AIS, and they gave me a quote for less than what I was paying originally. So now they're saving me $1,800 a year. Dude, that is awesome. Yeah. You are saving up to $1,800 a year? Yeah. They cut it in half. That's amazing. Yeah. And I drive a sports car, and I'm 21 years old, so I was excited about that. That is awesome. Hey, dude, thank you for the call. I appreciate it.
Yeah, no problem. Thank you. What I tell you about AIS is the solid gold truth, and I mean that from my heart. I use AIS myself. My wife uses AIS. Their phone number is 1-800-777-4247. 1-800-777-4AIS. From the Cricket Wireless Studios, this is the home of the OZ. Now here's something you may have missed this morning on the Mikey show. He won. A.O. is on the line. I grab a shovel, dig this. So anyways, I'm like 12 or 13 or something like that, you know. Right. And I think child play had been out for a minute. So I was like, hey, you know, check this out. And I was sitting by myself. And I don't know, but there's something about a dwarf that bites you in the leg. And when I saw him go jump on that little kid's back, I was like. I love it. Man, I was like. Mikey show continues.
I'm on the rock. If you were to itemize all of the clothing, $1,500. Oh, he's for the shoes? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is $919. Paris Hilton is being sued for $75,000 for allegedly not fulfilling her promotional duties for a movie she did back in 06. I can talk about this because the gas monkey's out and Rob is not here. But there was a crazy game last night involving the Red Sox. Normally, he'd be screaming right at this point. That's what he wrote today. Dude. David Ortiz hit two three-run home runs in the first inning. Holy crap. So he got up, hit a three-run home run, they batted around, and he got up again and hit another three-run home run. That's crazy. So they're up like 10 to nothing. Crazy. They blow the lead, the 10-run lead. How do you do that? That seems like it would take work. Insane. Come back and win 19 to 10.
17 over Texas. Crazy. Yeah, Rob put that it was one of the craziest Red Sox games he's ever seen. It really was. I'm glad he didn't talk over me. I know. It was nice. It was nice for Eddie to be able to actually say something about the Red Sox and not be interrupted. How long will it take the phone to ring? Well, he's in the rock van. There's an 8 second delay. Any second now, he'll call. Yeah, well, he's hearing it right now. Yeah, and freaking out. And flipping out. Dude, I want to talk about that. I've been dying all day to talk about this, Mike. Can't you believe me, Patty? Some of the text messages that we're getting. Mikey, P1 Go Canada. Oh, there's a phone. Hello? Hello? Are you kidding? I'll put him on hold. He can't hear me. See if that's Robert. Is that the announce? Yeah. Here's what his email says. I watched one of the craziest Red Sox games I've seen in a long time. In the first inning, the Sox scored 10 runs and Big Papi had two, three home runs. The Red Sox were teeing off the Rangers' picture to look like batting practice. No. Wow. Calm down, dude. Right? Take a breath. He's such a nut.
bag. He's a bag of nuts. He says that when he was at the gym, running at the gym on the treadmill, he says, I spent the entire time thinking up new material if I ever want to do stand-up. It was wicked tough, and I did not come up with much. Plus, I had no way to write anything down, which made me forget a bunch of stuff as well. That's always the way it happens. You know, Rob writes everything down on his hand. Yeah. Hi, Robert. Hey, what's up? You guys talking about the socks? Yeah, we were talking about the game last night. Yeah, Eddie was talking about the socks. Dude, it was like I was coming out of my face. Out of your face. It was coming out of my face. Wait a minute. What are you saying here? Dude. You're screaming. You're shouting. Take it down a notch. Take it down a notch, bro. You're all right. It's all right, Rob. You're in a safe place. Yeah, it's okay. You know, you're right. I've never seen nothing like it in my life. And then we blow the lead. What?
Listen, you got to hear this guy when his team is in the World Series. He's almost like he almost can't take it. It's almost so much. Yeah, there's so much going on that it's almost unhealthy for him. You almost want to tell him when it's all over what happened because he gets so worked up. I believe I believe this with every ounce of my being. Hopefully, Rob is a very, very old man when he dies, but it will be the Red Sox that kill him. Yeah, that's true. I believe that he will have a coronary. That would be the way I want to go. I'm sorry. Okay, really? I mean, you are. It was, dude, it was insane. I got the game recorded, Eddie, if you want to come over, lady. Yeah, we know. You were coming out of your face, we heard. Eddie, do you want to go over later? You can go over there. You actually know. He recorded it. Guys, I don't care. But he recorded it. He's inviting you to go. Go ahead. It's okay. I'll watch SportsCenter. I'll watch the highlights. Rob, are you guys driving around right now? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're driving around, and then, okay, so have you seen the rock van when it's all done up? We got big Chiquita bananas that we put magnets on and stuck them to the side, and we had to pull over to put them on and get us all decorated, you know, because we're the banana cops. Uh-huh.
And we're cruising down Rosecrans. And all four of them decided to fly off. Oh, no. No. I'm not even kidding. It was kind of dangerous. I'm not going to lie. Now, wait a minute. Wow. Now, we're going to have two phones going on. Yeah. We're going to have one phone for Rob, the gas monkey, who right now is driving around in the Rock 105.3 van in a monkey outfit. And in the driver's seat, I'm guessing, is Jay. We got Matt with me. Matt. Matt. Hey, Matt. Matt. So, okay, Matt from Promotions is with you. And you guys are driving around right now. Rob's dressed like a monkey. What we had to do was we had to pull over because we lost all the bananas, dude. Yeah. We lost all the bananas. So we pulled over. Someone was nice enough to grab us one of them. I got to go run and grab the other one. That's awesome. It was pandemonium. Is it the freeway or what? Rosencrantz. It's Rosecrans. Oh, yeah. Holy cow. Yeah, so we were spitting out bananas everywhere.
We're just putting them on, and then we're going to cruise again. Okay, so you're doing some repair work right now. I mean, can you imagine being a non-Mikey Show listener, driving down the street, see some kid, because I'm sure he didn't have the head on. No. So he has Boston tattooed on his neck. He has half of a monkey suit on, running in the middle of the street to pick up big fake bananas. I'd call the police. Oh, yeah. I'd call the police. A crazy person's out. Yeah. I love it. Some of these certifiables running around. Please. Okay, so. Rob will get in that van and he'll be looking for you. He is in the sports arena area. He's looking for somebody that has a brand new Mikey Show P1 Army bumper sticker on their car. The new sticker. And if he sees you, he'll flag you down. He'll pull you over and he'll let you pick a banana. Pull over! The banana will have gas cards taped to it. Between $25 and $250. Okay, so me and Matt, we got the bananas back on, and we're heading back out. Are they going to stay this time? Do you think that they'll stay attached? I don't know. I hope so. All right. Oh, man. Ridiculous. Oh, I can't wait to see pictures of this. Just when you thought this could get more ridiculous. It gets more ridiculous. Hold on, hold on. Is that...
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dude, he's got one. Okay. Oh, we just pulled out behind a dude. Dude, they're all over the place. Hold on. Hey! It's a banana cop! Banana cop? Is that what he said? Banana cop? What is he talking about? Your name is the gas monkey. Yeah, say you're the gas monkey. Oh, my God. There's people walking around looking at me. Have a good day, ma'am. We're videotaping all this, by the way. All right, all right. Now he gets it. Are you pulling him over? Oh, my God. No, no. Pull him over. There's a bunch of people on the sidewalk. Well, no. No, no. You need a car, bro. Oh, wow. We can pick up some extra workers today if we need them. Okay. I'm out there every day. Rob, what kind of car are we talking? Camry. That's a Camry. This is a goose chase, Mike. Yeah. He doesn't get that he's being, hey, flash your lights or something. We're beeping at him. Beep at him again. Yes. Oh, my God. We're going to have to get this guy. It's a banana cop. How does he not know? Stop yelling. You tell him that you're the gas monkey for crying out loud. Tell him you're the gas monkey. Hey, it's a gas monkey. Look, they've got bananas. How does this guy not know to pull over? I mean. All right.
You got him? Oh, my God. You get him? Yeah. Oh, my goodness. I wouldn't pull over if that guy was screaming at me. No kidding. No way. I don't care who it is. I got my helmet on. Hello? Yes, yes, I can hear you. Okay, I got my helmet on. Now, can I turn the other phone on so I can, because we're going to give the other phone to the person in the car. Yeah, yeah. Okay, let's see. And that should be, Matt, are you there? Matt, can you hear me on the other line? Okay, there's a gas monkey. Oh, this is the guy that's been pulled over? I'm pulled over, and I'm looking at a monkey. Okay, cool, cool. There you go. There you go. Banana gas. Did it take a second for you to kind of realize that you were being pulled over? Because Rob was saying, you know, it took a little while.
Oh, yeah, because I'm eating my fruit cup here, and I realize Monkey J.O. is chasing me. There you go. Now you can add some bananas to that fruit cup. So, where about are you guys right now? We are right by Sports Arena. I just thought I'd grab myself a little breakfast in the area, and there they were. Did you know about the gas monkey? Oh, yeah, for sure. Okay, cool. I've been playing Gas Monkey for a long time now. There you go. And you knew that the Gas Monkey was going to be in the sports arena area this morning? Yeah, it was probably confusing because Rob kept screaming banana cops at him. Yeah, of course. No kidding. Right? It's a different promotion. Yeah, right? All right. All right, now check it out, dude. A guy in the car, what is your name? My name is P1 Chris. P1 Chris. All right, Chris, now we're going to let you pull a banana from... The gas monkey. Oh, no, hold on a second. Before you do that, did the gas monkey do his dance? Oh, yeah. I've been dancing the whole time, man. I'm doing the monkey moonwalk. Okay, my bad. Monkey moonwalk. He's doing this out on the street right now. He's crazy when he gets in that suit. Hey, by the way, if anybody's passing by or whatever, honk. I want to hear, like, honks. It should be, you know, mayhem out there. Monkey mayhem. Yes. A lot of confused individuals.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it'll take eight seconds for that message to get out the P1s that are dry. There we go. Eight seconds. So there you go. All right. So, sir, are you ready to take a banana from the gas monkey? Absolutely. I'd love to grab some gas monkey. All right. Now, before you do, I'm just going to let people know that these cards are worth anywhere between $25 and $250. So go ahead and pull one. All right. All right. So we had a zip time together. New thing in the gas monkey. Can I just rip off the sticker there? Yep. Come on, Chris. What'd you get, Chris? We gotta put the phone down. We're working on it. That's okay. That's okay. We have to make it so difficult. I know it. I know it. We super glue them together or something. Just please. It's between $25 and $250. Yeah, so far winners have had $100 and $75. This is awesome.
What's going on? What's going on? How much is it for? 25. Is it 25? Oh, man. Well, that's cool. You got a $25 card? Yeah, that's the one. Awesome. There it is. There you go. All right, Chris, congratulations, and thank you for participating with the Gas Monkey. Thanks, guys. Thanks, Gas Monkey. All right, man, we'll see you. Well, it was only $25, but hey, listen. I'd take that in a heartbeat. Yeah, that's sweet. Sure. And you got entertainment. Absolutely. Are you kidding me? No way, yeah. All right, Gas Monkey, get back to the studio. All right, I'll be back in a little bit. All right, goodbye. There he is. He's a nut. He's a nutball. 35253 is our text. 5701053 is our phone number. If you saw the gas monkey, text us. They now have the right lane blocked. Traffic still backed up for about a good mile just crawling here through this area. Still a good idea is to take Dunbar Lane off, take a right there and then take a left on old Highway 80 heading westbound. That'll get you around this accident about a good 20 minutes faster. Love me. Thank you. He was on a new game show. It's different than what he said the first time, Sean. Wow. Yeah. Eddie, do you know what this game is? I believe they're talking about the game show Wanna Bet. which debuted on ABC last night. I didn't know that Sean was on it either until after Big Brother, I was flipping around and I saw him winning the game show. Wow. It was like four celebrities and Sean was one of them and dude won. Yeah, he did. You watch his head? Yeah, watch the whole thing. What the heck is it? Okay, it's like they have people who have really odd talents. Like one of them was there was like a marching band and they were all in a van.
And they were playing in a van. There were 12 of them in a van playing, and the celebrities bet whether or not they can actually complete this task beforehand. And they had another guy who had a backhoe, and he took a coat, a purse, and a hat off of a girl and put them on a coat wrap in two minutes with the backhoe. Oh, wow. That seems dangerous. So they bet beforehand whether they can do it or not, and they go for dollar amounts. And whoever has the most at the end of the game wins. And Sean won. Yep. Sean was able to effectively make the best guesses or whatever, you know, bets or whatever. That's pretty cool. Yesterday, around this time, we read an email from a girl who was a little concerned about her boyfriend's anger, temper, anger issues. She said that she felt, first of all, she said he worked out a lot and that she was thinking that he was using steroids. And she wanted to know whether or not we thought she should go through his stuff. Now, there was varying opinions on whether or not she should do that. Sky said she should. Sky believes she should go through his stuff. Well, I mean, you should always do that, even if you don't. Sky! Stop. Wow. I'm just saying that. I'm just saying. What, is there something to hide? Well, yeah.
Nothing to hide. What are you hiding? What are you hiding? Just, you know, personal effects. Well, Skye, there's nothing to hide, but why would you want to go through your husband's stuff? Well, I don't, and I wouldn't, but I'd have no problem with him going through all my stuff. I mean, he can go through everything I have. Really? You're the one who... That's the composite argument that you have about the government. You have nothing to hide, but you don't want them going through your stuff. Well, yeah. Mike, she's a walking hypocrite. I am not. Can you explain what Eddie just said then? Because, I don't know. Give me a second to think about it. Get back to us next Tuesday. Because in our relationship, there's nothing but love. There's nothing but love. And the government is trying to lock me in Guantanamo Bay. Guantanamo Bay. Sorry. Hey, listen, I make the same... You could say the same thing about me, but the opposite way. Like, I'm kind of a hypocrite, too. Yeah, you're the opposite. I'm the opposite, because I say about, like, the Patriot Act, I'm like, I don't have anything to hide. You can look at my stuff all you want to, and you can listen in on my conversations. I have nothing to hide, but I don't want my wife going through my stuff and, like...
Looking at my stuff. That's funny. Yeah, we're exactly opposite then. I have nothing to hide. Yeah, that's weird. Gosh, I thought we were so much more alike. Why is she so much? Why is that a different? I know, but I love her, right? People who are different can enjoy each other. It's the hair talking, Mike. That must be what it is. It's the hair. Maybe we should get back to the issue, Mike. It's the feisty hair. fight. Yes, the steroid. I wanted to give you an update. She wrote us back. She says, Mikey, I wrote you yesterday and you read my email in the air. It was about my boyfriend and how I thought he was on steroids. I listened to your advice and decided against it. Glad we could help. She decided, I guess, not to go through his stuff. I ended up going through his gym bag.
Okay, wait. No, she did go through his stomach. Sorry. Yeah, went against your advice. Yes, went against my advice and went through the gym bag. She says, then, I know, exclamation. I know. She says, it was wrong, but I had to know for sure. Well, guess what? I was right, exclamation point. He is using steroids. I couldn't believe it. I don't know what to do now. I know how dangerous that stuff can be if I confront him about it. He may turn his anger on me. I feel trapped. And I promise I will listen to your advice this time. Please help. P1 nervous girlfriend. Dude. Okay. Yeah, he might punch out a wall or something. Dude. If you're afraid that if you talk to your boyfriend about it, he may attack you, it's probably not a good relationship. Well, this went well. Break up. You may be in a bad relationship if you're afraid he'll attack you. But maybe.
The key word is maybe. Just go somewhere safe and write him a letter. Put on like a beekeeper's outfit. That doesn't pretend. You can't sting her? I don't think that's the problem. I can't believe she found something. Put aloe vera on. And then tell him. Deepwood's off. Oh my gosh. Let's see. Let me process. My answer is... What kind of answer is that? It's kind of a serious situation. I mean, she's asking for your help. Really well said. Should have listened to me the first time. That's a doozy, huh, Mike? Yeah. You talk to him. That's what I said yesterday. Talk. With somebody. You need to have somebody there. She does? Eddie, come on now. If she needs...
to have somebody there, then the conversation is about breaking up. Well, hold on. You can get him help. If he wants to get off steroids and he's on steroids, you can talk to him on the phone and say, listen, you're on steroids. This is scaring me. You're getting mad at all weird things. You know, you need to get off the stuff. Use the term roiding out on you. You're roiding out on you. You need to get off the junk and, you know, then we can talk about being together. But if not, then we can't be together. Do it by phone. If you do it in person, who knows what happens with that guy. He's in a weird spot right now and that's dangerous. Ew, that sounds so scary. It is. It's a very scary thing. Not to mention the back acne. Ew, that's scary as well. It's very scary. I agree 100% with Eddie. Yeah, I think a phone call, you know, normally in a situation, I'd say face-to-face. But if, you know, if he's messed up on the junk, then, yeah, I agree 100% with Eddie. Call, say, hey, I love you. I want you to get help. But if you don't get help, then I got to go my own way.
What about a protective vest that umpires wear and a broomstick? I'm glad you said that. Thank you for saying that. That is very dangerous. Don't say things like that. A great visual. Maybe a baseball bat instead of the broomstick. No. And then you're good. And then you're good. Very serious. Eddie? Eddie? Eddie? Eddie? Why so serious? Eddie? Hey, the joker just said, the joker just said, why so serious? Was that Heath Ledger? Pretty much. It's my impression. Almost identical. I thought someone played a clip from the movie. Thanks, Sean. That's how good it sounded. I've been working on it. You know, it's one of my main impressions. It was excellent. Thank you for noticing. More, please. Shut your face. What if she were to come at him? Well, you're probably going to be okay. Now, are we talking a real lightsaber or the one on your phone that you're playing right now? What do you mean? Hang on.
Put this away. I have to have it to her. Because it's very different. Okay. Oh, yeah. Oh, no. That's all I wanted to do. Right. You fooled us all. I think Eddie was right the first time, man. If it's like that, I personally think if it's that bad where you feel like you can't even say something where he's going to roid out on you, I don't think you should be with that dude. But Eddie has actually got a little bit of hopefulness in his message. He's saying, you know, if you get some help, yeah, he's got hope. He says, if you get some help, we can talk about this, but we're not going to talk about it until you get some help. Do you smell what Barack is cooking? I think it's an omelet. Oh, it's so good. Is it? It is so good. And oddly, it's like asparagus. Does he use them like roasted asparagus? And shrimp. It sounds strange. He is. I heard that he loves white wine and shrimp. I heard the omelet is empty. That's weird.
Weird. Edward. Edward. Oh, look who's so clever. I heard that the omelet doesn't have any content. Eddie's pumping his fist. Well, at least our omelet isn't made with dinosaur eggs, okay? At least our omelet isn't, like, moldy. It's not bad. See? Thank you, Sean. Nah, it's pretty good. Expiration is, like, 89. Dinosaur eggs. Yeah. You know, because your boy's the Crypt Keeper. What is this, Caveman starring Ringo Starr? You're just showing off that you knew. No, he's not going to high-five that. It's just blatant showing off of your references, okay? Nobody remembers that? Yes. Dennis Quaid in the movie. Mike, can you talk to him? What good is he going to do? Guy's going to reference out on us like that? Also, John Matuza. All right, dude. Get out. Sean's walking out, and I support it. That's ridiculous. Sean just left.
If I wasn't so lazy, I'd walk out too. Unbelievable. He got up and walked out of the... He's in Ashley's studio. He's in Ashley's studio. Did he hear John Matuszak? He's in Ashley's studio. I don't blame him. Now what's he going to do? Look at that. That's unbelievable. Oh, yeah. I don't get it. That's ridiculous. Guy using deep references like that. Not a chance in the world anybody will know what you're talking about on that one. I'm sorry. Let's... take some phone calls. P1 Mutt. Hey, how's it going? Hey, Mutt. Pretty good. With the steroid thing, I was wondering, how does this chick know that like in his gym bag it was steroids? Did it come in a big bottle that said steroids? That's a good point. Acme steroids. That's a good point. Well, if I found syringes in my man's workout bag, like please, I don't need to be a scientist. I don't think it's because he's diabetic. She could see syringes, but she really didn't say what she found, you know? So, I mean, before she goes pointing fingers at him and, you know, she may want to make sure that he was on steroids and not some kind of other supplement. Have you ever used steroids? No, I haven't. Hmm. I'm just trying to figure out why you, like, want to say... Defend. Yeah, you know, it's just weird because it sounds like she did, but you could be right. Hey, dude's got a point. I know people who have. You know people that have? Yeah. Eh?
I don't know, Skye's like, I kind of agree with Skye of like, what do you think it is? Yeah. Yeah, she definitely needs to talk to him, but I mean, you know, they've got like a million different supplements out there with all kinds of crazy names that sound like steroids. Yeah, well, if it has a GNC sticker on it, I don't think she's tripping, but, you know. Hey, now, let me ask you something. The guy that you know that used to do steroids, he doesn't live in... Your mirror, does he? I'm just asking a question. I don't know. I don't know how to phrase it. I don't know how to phrase it. I don't know. It was my uncle. Okay. There's your uncle. Say uncle. Say uncle. Okay. Is that a reference, Eddie, from Dumb and Dumber? Say uncle. Say uncle. Is that from Dumb and Dumber? No. It's not? It's not from Dumb and Dumber? I'm Sean, Eddie. What movie? No idea. I don't know. Even Sean is confused. That wasn't one of the big lines. He's been true. Yeah, I was in the promo. You're really disappointed, Ash, right there. I have three. Sean, what is the YouTube clip of the day today? Mike, it's the Webmaster Rap. All right, we'll do it next. The Mikey Show. The greatest Olympian. I'm even going to tell you right now, I got the feeling. Don't be irritated at me, Brian. I got the feeling that some of the cars that I was picking, he was like, man, I got some other ones. I wish you would kind of push or whatever. But he said,
I could pick. And I went through their inventory and I got to pick the type of car, the color of the car, the interior trim, the interior color. Black, sapphire, metallic, cream, beige, leather. Loaded.
I picked a 550i, black on black. It looks like something that Jason Statham would be driving. It's so hot. It looks like it's just awesome. It's black on black, 550. I picked a new 135i convertible. It's the new one, introductory level. These cars start at $28,000. Cashmere, silver, metallic, taupe. Boston leather. That's like a cream color. Loaded. Two more cars for you. Excuse me. Three. I picked a convertible 335i with zip. You put your foot on the accelerator and bye-bye mommy. Black sapphire metallic. Black interior. I love that color combo. Black on black. It's just bad, dude. And then the other two that I picked are the new M3s.

Zach De La Rocha, lead singer of Rage Against the Machine. He just did an interview and talked about his relationship with Rage.
Yeah, he doesn't do interviews, so this is very rare, but he did an interview with the LA Times where he was asked how things are with the band after being broken up for seven years and how does he feel about all of it. And he says, when you get older, you look back on tensions and problems you had in the past, and you now have a new perspective on it. He says he thinks their relationship now is better than ever. He said he would even describe their relationship in Rage as great. He says they're going to keep playing shows, but as far as recording new music in the future, he doesn't really know if that's in the cards or not. But they'll keep, you know, doing shows and hanging out and doing their side projects, and they're getting along great. I wish that that were being said about Audioslave. Super Wine. Super Wine. I accidentally offended them. They looked at us like they did not know what we were talking about. Pinot Noir? We were laughing at them. Did you give them a Pinot Noir? No, I went back and I hid in the kitchen. Peanut Noor? Thank you. Thank you for the call. That's great. Mikey Show. Hey, Mikey. Yeah. Hey, I just want Sean, I want to let Sean know I really enjoy him being in the studio. He adds a new element. Me too. Yeah, I like it. We all do. I love you. Yep. Love you, bro. You're the Honda element. Yeah, you drive an element. Tell him. He was mad anyways. Mikey Show.
What's happening, Mikey? What's up? I'm just calling this P1 Canada. What's up? Oh, are you the... Wait. Are you the guy that wrote the email? Yeah. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I gotta read it. Yep. Hang on. I have to read this. Oh, man. This guy's weird. Sean, don't inhibit him. Wait. No, Sean, don't play this. Here he is. Don't play that. inhibit our friend. Set the trap. I'm sorry. Stop it. Let me read this. This guy wrote an email earlier that we read on the air. I'll be rooting against the U.S. this year. I think they need a reality check, some humbling. Hopefully with the new administration, we'll bring change.
and we can go back to being a part of the world and not a separate entity. I hope you understand my point. Thank you, P1 Go Canada. Now, was that you that wrote this, or you're just responding to it? No, that's me. You wrote this? Yep. So, what is up, dude? Relax, everybody. We got a lot of problems here in America. A lot of problems that we're not addressing. Yeah, but... Why do you have to root against your own country? Or what does that have to do with the price of rice in China? Because I'm patriotic, but I can't stand a country that allows you to go home from work with a sunburn. It was all... Is this a Zappo? For that joke. We were just Zappo'd, everyone. We just got Zappo'd. We just got Zappo'd. Oh, man. It was a Zappo. I don't accept that Zappo. Good one, Mike. Yeah, but it's got to see you. I don't know that that was that good. Was that that good? Was that a good zap-off? No. We're trying to get out of here. You reread the email. I reread the email. We're busy today. I swallowed the whole hook. The sunburn got you there. I mean, he's got a point. Yeah, especially about the sunburn. Yeah, I was just thinking about his point. He does have a point. Does he really, Sean? Hey, dude, I'll give you a prize for that.
All right. Thank you. All right. I was just kidding. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. Zappa. When there's a cop, you never need one, but a highway patrol came out of nowhere. I just pulled this guy over, man. There you go, man. It was taken care of for you. I'm sorry, man. I was like, better than losing my virginity, you know what I'm saying? Okay. Not really. Not really, I don't. All right. It was in English. Interesting analogy. The lovely and talented Missy is coming up next, and today on the show, she has a little all-request lunch.
That's what's on the Nooner today, so make sure you're listening to Missy, and that's what we'll be on, and we will see you tomorrow morning at 5.30. The Mikey Show is out.
